Coffee shop
Pastry shop
La Cabra is a popular bakery located in the charming Latin Quarter of Aarhus. Known for its sourdough bread and exceptional coffee, this cozy spot attracts both locals and tourists. The minimalist interior exudes luxury, while outside seating offers a chance to soak up the quaint atmosphere of Graven while savoring a slice of sourdough bread with Gammel Knas and enjoying one of the city's finest cups of coffee.
Simply the best coffee I’ve ever had. I’m a huge coffee fan and have tried coffee all over the world, but nothing compares to La Cabra. I’ve been following them for years, so visiting their shop in Aarhus — their birthplace — was a special experience. The coffee was exceptional. The music was at the perfect volume, the aesthetics of the space were beautiful, and the staff were professional and genuinely attentive. My girlfriend, who loves coffee even more than I do, even got emotional. That says it all. A must-visit for any true coffee lover.
Jeremias P — Google review
Very friendly staff, they spoke multiple languages which is helpful if a tourist. Cappuccino and almond croissant were excellent! Atmosphere is relaxing, very zen with a beautiful view of the cobblestone street and Bishop Square steeple!
McKenzie S — Google review
Simply delicious! The food was so tasty and the coffee good. Very casual and relaxed atmosphere and the staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a breakfast spot or cafe in Aarhus.
Ben S — Google review
Very nice coffee or lunch stop when visiting Aarhus! Really yummy coffee, sandwiches, and pastries! The place might seem busy from outside, but we found plenty of seating inside. With two we ordered an iced latte, a cardemon iced latte, two sandwiches with cheese, and one seasonal pastry to share. All came to our table really quickly after ordering. Delicious!
Felix H — Google review
I walked in and was met with a relaxing atmosphere. Once I ordered the wait was a bit longer than what I'm used to at other coffee shops. But the wait was worth it. It's got to be one of, if not the best coffee I've ever had. The music is relaxing and the staff are really kind. Would recommend 👍
Audun M — Google review
The cinnamon roll is really tasty, full of flavor A bit expensive: 37 dkk The atmosphere is really good, they only have power sockets upstairs and no wifi unfortunately
Ceylin Ç — Google review
Awesome tea (green sencha tea) and buns (I think it was called kardemommesnurre, see photo)! I ordered at the counter, and they prepared the tea and brought everything to my table. The bun was delicious, soft, freshly made, tasty, moist, everything was perfect. The tea was wonderful, it tasted exactly like I would expect expertly-made high-quality sencha tea taste like; plenty of flavor and not at all bitter. Nice lively neighborhood, lots of people on the street, but the cafe was nevertheless not fully packed, it was easy to find a place to sit and everything was smooth and quick and very friendly.

Espresso bar
Stillers Coffee, formerly known as Great Coffee, is a renowned coffee bar located in Aarhus. The establishment, led by award-winning roaster Soren Stiller Markussen, operates as both a roastery and a coffee shop. Nestled in the charming Latin Quarter, the industrial-style interior of the brick building reflects its history as an old chocolate factory. With a focus on quality and care in crafting their delicious specialty coffee, Stillers Coffee offers a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of home.
One of the finest coffee experiences in Aarhus. Roasted and prepared by very passionate and talented people.
Sus V — Google review
Stillers Coffee feels more like a coffee lab than a typical café, with a very limited selection of food and milk-based drinks. It's perfect for coffee connoisseurs who appreciate the craft, though it lacks a cozy vibe. The ice coffee is also tiny for the price. An interesting experience, but not for everyone.
Alexis — Google review
This place is good for coffee enthusiasts. It's a kind of experience, not a cafe. Although the chocolate cookie and Friis-Holm chocolates were perfect, the coffee was too strong for me. Maybe the tables zone could improve to be more cozy. The service was quick, nice, and well presented.
Ayatullah H — Google review
Coffee was v good to my taste. Staff incredibly aloof, blunt, rude. Coffee quality is not worth the BS. We regularly drink very good coffee in places that manage to take the coffee seriously without taking themselves so seriously as these guys
Daniel B — Google review
Coffee Oasis in a backyard of Aarhus. I had an iced coffee with a hint of blueberries, which was velvety soft. Tasted more like chocolate, what I really love. Also fell in love with their ceramics. Don’t miss that experience!
Alice S — Google review
I came here expecting a good cup of coffee, what I got was a full experience. The owner isn’t just a barista; he’s an artist, a true OG of the coffee game with awards to prove it. You can taste the passion in every sip. Definitely by far the best coffee you can get in Aarhus. No hype coffee place can remotely compete.

Coffee shop
Street Coffee is a popular coffee chain in Aarhus, with multiple locations in the city center. Whether you prefer espresso, latte, or plain black coffee, they have something to satisfy your taste. The cozy and relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place to unwind with a hot cup of coffee. Despite its small size, this hip cafe attracts a diverse crowd who appreciate quality coffee and good music. Additionally, Street Coffee is known for its excellent service and friendly ambiance at all of its locations.
It’s a great coffee shop with average prices. This is usually where I’ll go to “get away from the center - crowd”. The coffee is affordable, the staff are friendly. You can listen to some good vinyl while working on your laptop (free WiFi) while people watching. It’s hip, clean, and enough.
Katrina R — Google review
The coffee is delicious and i love the vibe of this small coffeeshop. A very comfortable to enjoy a morning or afternoon.
Max C — Google review
Good service, coffee, and baked goods, but prices are high.
ORST — Google review
The espresso was really good, more of a light roast with some fruityness. The space is pretty small, seating for about 10 at most, but it is nice and they were playing pretty good music in the background.
Conor C — Google review
Very cozy cafe with good good and friendly staff in Vestergade
MICHAEL J — Google review
Probably the best tasting coffee downtown Aarhus. It’s perfect if you are alone and need a break from the busy streets. Calm music coming from a record player, free tap water and just really great coffee and also tea. The shop is tiny, so it could be hard to find a spot for more than 3 people.
Marlène R — Google review
Decent coffee, not spectaculary good by any means. Cozy setting in a lively neighborhood.
Kristian L — Google review
Aarhus has some of the best coffee houses in the world and Street Coffee in Vestergade is the most cozy. Go here for a quiet coffee and maybe a chat with the locals in the weekdays; or come here in the weekend for a coffee on the bench i the sun. I personally recommend their flat white.

Rs28 Kaffebar is a cozy little coffee spot located in Rysgade 28, conveniently close to the main shopping street and just a few steps away from the main train station in Aarhus. The café offers some of the best coffee in town, with options like frothy lattes and other hot and cold drinks. If you're looking for a quick pick-me-up, you can order your coffee to go at their open window.
This kaffebar is located in Rysgade 28 a great location right at the main shopping street in Aarhus and a few meters walking distance from the main train station. This place has great coffee and the lattes are frothy and taste very good coffee. I like their coffee collective in different colours and packages. All looks nice in the display. They also served other hot and cold drinks. If you want something delicious to bite in a quiet place go inside and take a seat, sip a drink and enjoy a very good coffee. Inside has nice decoration. The place is small inside and cosy. The staff and Theis a knowledgeable barista and very friendly that made the place even more welcoming. Highly recommend this place for great coffee and bites to eat.

Absolutely amazing little coffee shop! The barista was wonderful and extremely helpful - absolutely amazing service! The coffee/pastries were very tasty and the atmosphere is very chill.

Cute little cafe with with good ambience. Just sat in for a short stop and ordered a macchiato. My first coffee in Aarhus and it did not disappoint! One of the better coffees I’ve had in a long while.
Jessica O — Google review
Real baristas who care for the product they send across the counter. Easy to talk to and a nice cozy place. We opted to take our coffee outside at the standing covered bar they have, which also beautifully showcase their baked goods. Coffee Nerd approved!

We wanted to buy coffee beans after getting a recommendation. They explained how to properly make the coffee at home while keeping in mind that the gear we have is not the same. I sampled the coffee I bought then by getting a cup there. The taste was really great. Had a "hippiekiks" along with it which tasted really good. Will definitely come again.

Coffee shop
Jumbo Bakery has gained extreme popularity with its small harbor bakery in Aarhus, leading to the opening of a new branch on Ankersgade. The bakery is renowned for its love of the craft and expertise in sourdough baking, producing bread and pastries that are heavenly. Visitors can indulge in mouthwatering baked goods and enjoy freshly brewed coffee made from locally roasted quality beans.
I have already been here twice and can vouch for their generous portions and great coffee! If you are missing French croissants, this is the place to get your fix! I tried their sesame bun, butter, cheese, and jam and everything was delicious. The outdoor seating area is perfect for a sunny day and has great view of the docks. The service is friendly and I am sure I will end up going there again
Jahnavi K — Google review
Stylish but a bit industrial inside. More dark then complex coffee roast.. A matter of taste. Laptop friendly and good for ‚business meetings‘. Overall Good coffee in a more industrial (harbour) area.
Sophia W — Google review
Very nice pastries. Very fresh. The place is a bit small so bare that in mind (you might need to wait)
Amalie J — Google review
A stylish cafe with probably the best pastries in town - definitely worth a visit. Can get a bit crowded if outdoor seating is not possible, but it’s worth the wait!
Sophia S — Google review
Absolutely wonderful breakfast options and great seating..loved the hand churned butter with cheese and bread.

Food court
Aarhus Street Food is a vibrant food court located in a former bus garage, drawing inspiration from London's Borough Market. The venue offers an array of international cuisines, including Italian, Mediterranean, and Turkish options. Visitors can savor Thai treats, crispy pizzas, fish & chips, Scandinavian meatballs and more at traditional Danish long tables. Additionally, Aarhus Central Market provides the opportunity to purchase Danish delicacies and freshly prepared dishes to go.
I had the chance to visit the Aarhus Street Food Market during a one-day stop while on a cruise, and it was absolutely worth it! I had seen several YouTube videos highlighting the market and made a point of including it in my short time in Aarhus—and I’m so glad I did. It definitely lived up to the hype. The market is located just a short walk from the train station and is cleverly housed in repurposed shipping containers, which gives it a cool, industrial vibe that fits perfectly with the laid-back but lively atmosphere. There’s a great mix of indoor and semi-outdoor seating, making it a comfortable spot to hang out whether it’s sunny or raining. What really stood out was the incredible variety of food options. From traditional Danish smørrebrød to flavorful Thai noodles, fresh tacos, juicy burgers, and more, there’s something for absolutely every taste. The international flavors are authentic and well-prepared, and I loved that you could see each vendor putting care and heart into what they served. I ended up trying a few different dishes to get the full experience, and everything was delicious. There are also drink options, including local beers and specialty cocktails, and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy them. The market was clean, well-organized, and had a vibrant, welcoming feel. Whether you're a foodie, a casual traveler, or just looking for a memorable place to eat, Aarhus Street Food Market is a must-visit. Would 100% recommend making this a stop—even if you're just in Aarhus for the day!
Celine L — Google review
So many food choices! It's worth stopping and enjoying the cuisine. Summer days make the outside lively with folks enjoying food, drinks, and ice cream. Inside, there is a primary bar and another for non-alcoholic drinks, and on warm days you'll find more seating. Pick from a variety of food, some Danish but many others too.
Michael M — Google review
We loved it here - great food options for all tastes including vegetarian and vegan. There was cuisine from across the world as well as Danish food and some nice bars and coffee shops. We visited during the day when it was child friendly and there was plenty of space available.
Tim J — Google review
Excellent food hall located close to the main train station with so many different food options available. I had the falafel wrap from “Zaatar” and it was good. Personally the bread was a bit too flakey for my liking, but still good and the portion generous. Recommended!!
Ben S — Google review
Perfect place to try different cuisines in Aarhus. They have many stalls like Mexican, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Middle East and many more. There is indoor and outdoor free seating available. The place is self serve and very functional. Must try: Thai curry, Nachos, Falafel wrap, Japanese Bao and Savory crepes.
Shubham G — Google review
Great place if you don't know what you want. It looks a bit messy and disorganized but selection of food is large and prices are just fine. But from all street food markets I've visited in Denmark, this one is very average.
Monika R — Google review
Really great selection of food, especially the fish and chips tasted amazing! The prices are also really fine and I would definitely recommend getting an Orval at the bar!
Sebastian L — Google review
Aarhus Street Food is a fantastic concept that brings a diverse array of cuisines under one roof, creating a vibrant, multicultural dining experience right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is lively, with friendly staff and plenty of seating, making it an ideal spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy a wide variety of flavors. Its central location also makes it easily accessible, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or meeting up with friends. I had the chance to sample dishes from Japanese, Middle Eastern, and British stalls, and each one delivered on quality and taste. It’s clear that a lot of attention goes into ensuring each dish feels authentic and satisfying. From fresh ingredients to carefully prepared spices, every dish offered something unique and flavorful. One area that could improve the experience, however, is the payment system. While you can order online from all stalls on the same website, payment still has to be made separately at each stall’s counter. This makes the process slower and a bit inconvenient, especially during busy times. Having an option to pay online as well as order would streamline the experience, making it quicker to pick up your food. For example, at Wolf Food Hall in Brussels, which I recently visited, both ordering and paying could be done online, which enhanced the experience significantly and encouraged people to try even more dishes. All in all, Aarhus Street Food is a must-visit for anyone in Aarhus who wants to explore a variety of flavors in one spot, and with a few adjustments to the payment process, it could become an even more enjoyable dining experience. I’m looking forward to returning and seeing how it continues to evolve!

Cafe Viggo, located on Aboulevarden by the waterfront, is a popular spot among locals for its great coffee and diverse menu inspired by global cuisines. The cozy atmosphere makes it a favorite for indulging in their renowned brunch or unwinding with a cocktail. The outdoor seating area offers a more tranquil dining experience, shielded from the wind. Their signature Viggo Burger and unique dishes like grilled goat cheese and blue cheese burger are highly recommended.
The food was excellent, particularly the dessert, and the restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with appealing decor and seating. Although the theme wasn't particularly captivating, the quality of the meals more than makes up for it. Be aware, though, the beer comes with a hefty price tag! 😂

We were a group of 7; danish citizens hosting 4 english speakers. We popped in here after a small tour of Aarhus. The staff were great and helpful. Tables were clean. We ordered coffees, smørrebrød and the club sandwich, all were delicious! Nice relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.

We had a nice experience at Café Viggo. For the starter we ordered Moules Mariniéres - Well-crafted dish with quality bread, little lacking some standout flavours. For the main dish I had the Steak au poivre- A well-done steak accompanied by a flavorful sauce and very nice complementary sides. Main dish of my partner- Baked Catfish- Nicely cooked fish with more subtle flavors. The cauliflower gave the dish very nice touch. Dessert 1: Crème Brûlée - Delightful dessert and generous portion Dessert 2: Raspberry mousse and sorbet - Light and refreshing. Cafe
Café Drudenfuss is a classic spot located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, boasting cozy Berlin-style interiors and a relaxed atmosphere. For almost 25 years, it has been a beloved establishment offering a twist on classic fish and chips, served with vinegar powder, pea puree, homemade tartar sauce, and of course, crispy fries. The café's Parisian influence is evident in its decor but also features an industrial touch that adds to its unique charm.
Charming and lively place offering tasty food and drinks. Glutenfree is possible for most dishes. A place to return to!
P O — Google review
It was a little quiet when we ate there so not much atmosphere - mitigated by the lovely staff who were attentive, without being pushy. We really enjoyed our dinner ('veal') and felt comfortable just being there for an hour or so. So, while in a busy quarter of town, our whole experience was very positive. Highly recommended.

📍located in Latin quarter, very easy to find on Google maps 🖼simple interior, interesting photos on the wall, hard chairs, more comfortable to sit in on the sofa in the corner 🍳Different brunch offers. Tried the classic one, served nicely, very delicious😋 high in calories, very hard to finish 👧very good service, waiters very trying hard to serve as fast as possible, very attentive and helpful 💶average price for Denmark, not for a budget 💫would love to visit again
Ani S — Google review
They let you sit there until you walk up to the bar. If your drink is finished and your food will be served, they don’t ask you for another round. You need to walk up to the bar again. I guess this is normal in DK but I can’t get used to it. I got Moules frites. My fries were cold when served. I complimented the waiter on the food but mentioned that the fries were cold. He asked the cook and came back saying; “the fries cannot be cold.” It was awkward. I invited him to touch my fries, and he did. He agreed with me that they were indeed cold.
Marie-Louise C — Google review
I really like the atmosphere of this place. We had a nice brunch. When they brought it out it looked a bit small for the price but it was quite filling and really delicious. The service was very good as well. I wish they had cleaned the toilest a little more. It takes you out of the nice atmosphere when you come in to a messy toilet.
L. N — Google review
This restaurant offers a nice terrasse to enjoy this relaxing and charming area in Aarhus. Do not hesitate to share a starter while enjoying a beer or a cocktail. The main dishes are simple but prepared with care and fine products! I highly recommend to stop by this Café for a fantastic moment with friends!
Jérémie T — Google review
Went here with a friend, we announced our arrival inside and were told that someone will come out and take our order. However we ended up waiting 30 mins before a waiter came. I ordered the Chèvre Chaud salad with ham and upon arrival the ham was missing from the salad. My friend ordered an avocado toast with salsa, egg and bacon, the avocado was not ripe and the salsa contained nuts which a salsa does not usually have and halfway through the meal she realized it is hazelnut which she is allergic to. A better menu with descriptions of ingredients would help and then it shouldn’t have said salsa but rather red pesto, where nuts are expected. For the price and the service, I won’t come back.

Been curious about this place. We went for drinks, the snack platter and the tapas platter. All super tasty, fresh, so much food and well priced. The young guy working there was very friendly. Nice relaxed place.

The vibe is so comfortable. The coffee is not the best but overall it’s a very good place to chill for a while with your book.

This is fantastic cozy cafe which serves a very great choice of beverages, and the very best homemade bread. My favorit place for morning coffee when in Århus.
Ken J — Google review
I have come here occationally for many years. The atmosphere is always cozy and I definitely much prefer to read here than reading at DOKK1 or other modern libraries. They also stay open longer. I am usually more hyped by books I find in Faktum or secondhand stores, but the good thing is if you can't find a book you want to read then there is also a second hand store on the other side of the road. I also like their sandwiches, although after having tried the same time too many times I feel the need for a bit more variation. Great place to bring friends or to go alone to read/write.
Simon G — Google review
The café is in two sections, the book store in the front and the wine room in the back. Very distinct atmospheres, both really nice though. A great place to read a book or hang out with a friend or two. Ordered the "sausage and cheese for two", which comes with a bottle of red or white wine. Very nice selection of meat and cheese. One thing you should be aware of though, buying two sausage and cheese plates and a bottle of wine seems to be cheaper than buying the set. That's not very nice and does subtract from the experience. Response to response: the wine we got was priced at 149, so 90+90+149=329. I understand that may have been a mistake by the staff.
Henrik S — Google review
We were four people having Tapas Plates, and they were actually fine, but served with the words - i´m sorry, but we have no more bread than this - and we had less than one person eat in 5 minutes. After this we never saw the server again. Nice place Fine house wine (we had white) OK servings except from bread. - but due to that we went on to a street food to get full 😏 (both boys and girls)

Bill's Coffee is a charming spot located on Vestergade 58 in Aarhus, offering a delightful coffee experience. Whether you opt for a quick takeaway from their window or prefer to relax inside, you'll be treated to a rich Guatemalan blend of house espresso and an ever-changing selection of beans sourced from different countries. To complement the exceptional coffee, indulge in delectable treats like raspberry slices from Langenaes Bakery.
It's one of the best cafes, i've tried here so far! The chocolate croissant was so good, the coffee also tasted good. And with friendly and decent staff, good prices, and cozy seating with warm lights, what else i could ask for? Will definitely go there again.

Cosy and nice coffee shop!!☕️🥐 It was one of the places near my hotel and I found it lovely. There are tables inside and outside. On weekends, they have an offer of a coffee with croissant by 47Dkk. The service was really good! If you want a glass of water, there is available around a corner in the shop.

Best place for coffee in Aarhus! Great tasting coffee, really friendly staff, and fresh pastries. If you're looking for a break and recharge amongst the bustling, urban city, then you must visit here.
Jacob B — Google review
Cute little coffee shop, good selection of pastries and drinks with nice staff.
Kate — Google review
Sadly I can't say that I share the same enthusiasm as most. I agree on the service being very friendly. However the Espresso was very bitter, the Latte wasn't hot enough and the pastries weren't that great. I can't say that it's very cozy either, the bench is pretty hard and you have your back against a wall, also the shop is very small so there is just a lot of noise between the people and the machines. Just not the type of place to lounge around and relax with your coffee in my opinion. When La Cabra is just 5 minutes away with much higher quality coffee and pastries, it's hard for me to recommend this one.

Located on Ingerslev Boulevard, Go' Kaffe is a charming café housed in an old hot dog cart. The coffee beans are sourced from the local roastery Kaffe & Co. Hasle, while the cheese and freshly churned butter come from Lindved Mejeri. It's a perfect escape from the urban hustle, offering a cozy atmosphere and excellent service.
Great place for getting coffee and breakfast/ a snack on a sunny market day. Really cute and we got everything we ordered quite fast. I got the bread with cheese and the bread was very nice, crunchy on the outside and soft inside.

An oasis in the concrete desert. Don't look at the school or public pool lest you fancy yourself judged by your faceless peers. Instead try looking at that deliciously elongated park that stretches towards the horizon. You can almost imagine that there's no traffic or stress. Five stars

Went in there for a coffee just as the server was cleaning the place up. We were horrified to see that after she swept the floor, cleaned the dustpan, and fixed the carpets, she didn't wash her hands before serving us! What's worse, afterwards she was filling out teabags and replacing stirring sticks without washing her hands. We can never go back to a place as unhygienic as this. Gross!

Coffee Collective Guldsmedgade is a popular addition to Aarhus' coffee scene, offering great cappuccinos with oat milk and delicious pastries from Jumbo bakery. The cafe has a small range of seasonal coffees that are consistently high quality. It's a cool spot with large windows for people-watching, although it may not be the most comfortable or quiet place to study.
Great coffee and beautiful interior. I got the new "Our Plot" blend which was super delicious. 40 kr for a cappuccino.
Anne L — Google review
The pastries/bread are fantastic (but very limited in choice), made by Jumbo, which I believe offers the best in Aarhus. The latte is good, though a bit pricey (as is typical in Denmark) and on the smaller side. The location and seating are nice, but it's often quite busy, making it noisy and sometimes hard to find a spot.

Very nice service and a bountiful brunch. Prices are comparable to other restaurants and bars in the surrounding area but you pay for the location. The waiter was very nice and thoughtful, service was fast and there's literally nothing to complain about other than prices being higher but hey, you get what you pay for

I had a beef burger, which wasn't too expensive, yet very tasty and fairly big. Quality of service was very nice. The waitress took my order and was very helpful. Atmosphere of this place is nice. A very spacious bar, many choices from the menu. Some classics of music are playing inside, prices are bit high, but worth the service provided.

We ordered a place and a three course meal through early bird. The service was terrible, it felt like the restaurant was run by a bunch of kids. We got the starter 40 minutes after we ordered it, the hamburgers (main course) were absolutely drowning in mayonnaise and we had to go to the waiters and remind them to order us the next course each time. The only saving grace was the dessert. We will not be returning.

Excellent food provided in a very unique and cosy setting. The menu is small but the food is very good and well presented. The waiting staff are friendly and efficient. There is a large outdoor area to sit and have cocktails or coffee right on the harbors edge with a great view. Sadly the small menu means the restaurant is lacking in vegetarian and vegan options.

Whether you choose to enjoy your meal at one of the sidewalk tables, inside the cozy vintage café, or in the warm sunny courtyard, you're sure to have a wonderful time.

Ian D — Google review
It’s a fancy cafe, good location in the Latin quarter and good aesthetic inside. Prices are quite high however and some things are completely disproportionate in price. But the man working was very kind and smiling so that was super pleasant!
Francesco C — Google review
I decided to go to Cafe Englen after reading the wonderful reviews on Google and here are some things worth noting down: 🔹There is ample amount of space to sit and relax, the vibe is cozy. Plus they have outdoor seating too. 🔹Quick and friendly service 🔹A different/unique menu from other restaurants 🔸I arrived at 10:20 AM on a Sunday and wanted to try the popular Egg Florentine but they were already out of it. The restaurant opens at 10:00 AM btw. So if you want to try the Egg Florentine, you'll definitely have to arrive earlier. 🙃 🔸My coffee came quick but 20 mins waiting for a chicken sandwich? Hmmm. 🔸Now the chicken sandwich is something to really consider. The homemade potato bread and the picked onions were absolutely amazing. The bread was warm and delicious and the onions were very tasty. The chicken? Not so much. If you're interested in cold mashed chicken, go for it. Personally I wasn't a huge fan as the cold chicken just did not sit well with the warm bread. 🔸Way too much arugula. It was a great experience trying the food and the people working there are amazing. Just not sure I’d go there again.
Anamika P — Google review
Family of four had soggy brunch at crazy price, given the quality. Not much to it. No fresh fruit. I have had brunch in over 24 countries and numerous restaurants/cafes. This is one of the most overrated brunch. Sorry but that's the case. Also toilets are filthy dirty. Don't want to post images. Fix these things and we'll maybe try again. (Would have loved that this place to be a good brunch place since the location and atmosphere is good).

Went to Cafe Engel for Saturday's supper. Absolutely loved the fish dish and the price was good too (140 dkk). Cozy seating outside in the backyard or on the street.
Pavlína F — Google review
Went with a friend for breakfast on a Saturday morning, without a booking. We were quickly seated. We both ordered eggs Florentine which where overcook, flavorless and overall, a huge disappointment. On the other hand, their French toast was really good! Be aware of their portions, they are on the smaller side. I only give it 3 stars because making bad eggs Florentine is almost impossible, well they did it. Do not go if you are in a rush, the restaurant was not even half fool and we still had to wait 30 minutes to be served.

When placing my order I asked for an americano coffee in a medium cup with fat milk and brownie. ( pity there is no cream ) Waiting almost 10 min. Unfortunately I was served coffee with skimmed milk , which I do not like, in a larger cup than I ordered , coffee diluted with water terribly. The coffee is simply not good. I do not recommend such coffee here. There is a lack of good communication between the staff 😏. later I was offered an exchange, but I declined because I didn't have much time

They have lots of advertisement about the tiramisu latte but don't have it available. The girl had the counter seemed confused, we ordered to have in mugs on site and we got in take away cups. The cups were far from full. The milk was way too hot, it was unpleasant. The whipped cream was pointless, such a small amount that melted straight away with the burnt milk. Expensive less than average coffee and bad experience
Sophie G — Google review
Too go to go - worst experience ever!! They made us waiting for more than 30 minutos to collect the bags, they gave us only 2 itens while for the rest of people there they gave a bag fully with different items. When it was in my turn on the line the employees started whispering and gave us a different bag. Is it correct, Starbucks ? Should all of us using too go to go, to be Danish ?

Stay away! You ask them for lactose free milk - then you look how they’re doing it and they’re adding normal milk… Another time you ask for decaffeinated coffee, they say ok. Nestled in the heart of Aarhus, ARoS Café & Orangeri is a vibrant hub for art enthusiasts and food lovers alike. The museum's standout feature is the stunning rooftop installation, "Your Rainbow Panorama," created by Olafur Eliasson, which offers visitors a unique perspective of the city through its colorful walkway. Inside, you'll find an array of contemporary exhibits that change regularly, including thought-provoking themes like "Human Nature" and "No Man Is an Island.
Beautiful and tasteful lunch -service. Pleasant service, good beer and white wine as recommended. We chose a lunch setting with 4 light dishes that tasted amazing.
Tom M — Google review
My sister and I had invited our mom to Aros. We had booked a table for lunch in the Orangeri. While the atmosphere is very nice, the food is quite bland and ordinary. We ordered the pumpkin soup, which simply tasted of puréed pumpkin, there was no salt, pepper, spice, cream - nothing at alle to "spice" it up. The spinach waffles, were likewise very bland, and tasted of spinach mixed with flour and eggs. Finally, the lunch platter looked very enticing, but likewise lacked flavor, and the ryebread was rather dry. Overall, the food visually very presentable, but as regards taste, it was very bland and not worth the price.

Additionally, the menu includes generous and flavorful Danish smørrebrød options.
Wonderful simple, but delicious, brunch in a lovely restored building. Friendly, helpful staff, and delicious coffee. The brunch options are either a full platter with a baked egg, slice of bacon and breakfast sausage, a bit of simple chicken and warm-smoked fish salad, cheese, salami, yogurt and as much bread as you need, or a similar platter of vegetarian options. The regular Danish smørrebrod options are also offered and look very generous and delicious. Overall a very nice, cozy spot for brunch or lunch.

An amazing place for a late breakfast or brunch. The brunch menu and salmon sandwiches were absolutely exquisite! But be careful as sandwiches they offer are huge, so it is enough for one person meal! Sauces they use are full of flavour and give a special note to each piece of the meal. The service was also incredibly friendly and considerate. The only note is if you want to pay separately, say it in a advance.

Why is this place not getting any reviews yet? It’s just THE place to go if you’re in the area. For reasonable price you get really gorgeous food and service. It’s just my second day in Aarhus but I love this cafe! (The only thing to be flagged is that they don’t have menu in English so you have to guess if you don’t read Danish...)

Known for their delectable brownies and the popular Graeskarkerne boller (pumpkin seed buns), Emmerys offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying a simple morning spread at one of their charming locations, like Frederiksbjerg or Guldsmedegade in the Latinerkvarteret.
Cozy sit down bakery plus with lots of breakfast options. You can get 4 pastries of various kids for 80dkk total. The staff is friendly. I would visit again.

Café Mellemfolk is a popular spot in Aarhus, known for its warm and vibrant atmosphere, diverse drink options, and light snacks. It's a favorite among students who often bring their laptops to work there. The cafe offers delicious paninis and vegan options, all run by volunteers. The thrifted furniture adds to the homey feel of the place.
Great place to hang out, volunteer or spend time with friends! Lots of things happening here, don't miss the opportunity to come. Plus the food is always great, would really recommend global kitchen days. The only thing is that it's a pity they don't include more gluten free options.

What a great place with delicious food, nice people, cozy atmosphere. The food is vegan, amazing! It feels like at home. The only thing I would improve is dinner menu, food there is quite heavy for evening (oil, fat, unhealthy), I would add at least something light and healthy. I also liked they are involved to activism and looking for volunteers, I want to support places like this.
Polina L — Google review
Ordered the Flat White and Hot Chocolate, each with oat milk. It was quite disappointing overall, since the coffee seemed quite burnt and the hot chocolate lacked the cocoa flavor. The staff was very cordial and the vibes in-house were quite enjoyable and nice, for they deserve an extra star.
Sidhant C — Google review
Extremely cozy cafe, perfect for knitting, working or just hanging out with friends, as there are plenty of board games. Food is great, vegan-friendly, delicious even for carnivores. Coffee is also amazing, but drinks are unfortunately not always so good. I love that the water is always available, and everyone can take as much water as they need. Cafe is run by volunteers, serves as an amazing place to seek community - there are many events happening and groups, to which you can sign up.

Such a cozy and chilled spot to have a coffee or a glass of wine. It's tucked away and has a really good energy and vibe. I saw they had a book club meeting and there's also a piano, just not sure if it's ever being played. Really recommend when in town 👌

Great vegan Burger and Polenta Fries. The oatmilk in the Cappuccino was too sweet for my taste. The Cinnamon Bun could have been softer. Nice atmosphere.

Super cozy place! Went with a group of friends and we played board games from the common board game shelf :) They all got coffees which they said were pretty average while I got a “matcha latte”. Wouldn’t really call that matcha myself, but then again it’s not a speciality matcha place. But I’d still say it was far below average, it was a very pale yellow color and only tasted of oat milk- would not recommend that one. Didn’t have food so can’t speak for that.

Formerly known as Plantecafeen, Plukk is not your average plant shop. It's a floral paradise that has transformed into a cozy cafe with a lush green interior resembling a mini rainforest. Here, you can enjoy coffee while contemplating whether to indulge in homemade cake, organic ice cream from Fyn, or even a bird's nest fern. The staff are friendly and accommodating, offering an extensive selection of plants that are hard to find elsewhere.
An amazing plant shop with really nice staff. A wide selection of plants, also many that aren't easy to find in other plant stores. They also were super helpful when I asked about a plant that they didn't have, and said that if it's available they'll order it for me. The prices were also reasonable and they had some cool books and other plant related things too. Unfortunately I didn't have time to get anything from the cafe but I'll definitely do that next time too.

Plantecafeen is a delightful eatery that offers super tasty and colorful dishes. Every plate is a feast for the senses, with vibrant and enticing flavors that will leave you satisfied. What's even better is that the prices at Plantecafeen are really fair, both for the delicious food and the beautiful plants they have for sale. It's a place where you can enjoy a fulfilling meal without breaking the bank. Additionally, Plantecafeen is vegan-friendly, making it a welcoming spot for those with plant-based dietary preferences. 27.02.25 Upon entering the cafe, we were greeted by a nice lady, we came for breakfast, my daughter ordered something I don't remember the name of, it's similar to a panini but not that... vegan croissants, surprised with the taste and freshness. The environment is interesting, very clean, the toilet was very impressed with the interior and cleanliness. I will recommend this cafe to my friends.

Best coffee I've had in Aarhus. Been missing a good coffee since I moved here. Got a cappuccino with pea milk, which was good but the double shot of tasty coffee was what made it good. We got an iced matcha and chai and both were extremely disappointing. The matcha was not completely dissolved and there were still clumps of matcha, the chai tasted like oat milk with cinnamon. Buzzing with life this small gem offers a wide variety of food. However, the prices are a bit to the expensive side and it's often difficult to find a place to sit. The atmosphere is easy going and this place seems to be a popular place before a night out. We're able to recommend the pizza and the tapas.
Henrik T — Google review
This place is in my opinion far better than Aarhus Street Food. The amount of noise is manageable, and the quality of the food is much better. Maybe it's because they can actually take their time making a dish, because the place isn't as packed with people as Street Food. I don't know, but it's just better. I'd much rather spend my time and money here.

Café Faust A/S is a popular and well-known café in Aarhus, offering a genuine café atmosphere with classic dishes like café burgers, pariserbof, sandwiches, salads, vegetarian options, pasta dishes, and children's menus. The evening 3-course menu features seasonal ingredients and changes regularly. During the day, it serves high-quality French and Danish cuisine by the river.

Great cafe at old street. Went for lunch. school holiday. After long day at library. I’m recomment here.
Pemika A — Google review
I left with mixed feelings. When I arrived, I was met by a host or maybe a waiter who wasn't welcoming. I spoke Danish with an accent of course but he immediately switched to English and told me I could only sit outside. It was cold and rainy but he assured me there was heating. I agreed though he didn't walk me to the table - just handed me an English menu and pointed the way. What really bothered me was that as I was heading out, a Danish speaking couple came in. He asked them where they preferred to sit ("indenfor") - and welcomed them in and personally showed them to a table. That contrast in treatment was disappointing. The other two waiters I interacted with were kind and professional. We spoke in Danish, and they offered me a blanket which I appreciated. The breakfast itself was good but the pancake cooled quickly in the chilly weather, so it took away from the experience a bit. All in all good food and service but inconsistent hospitality. Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars.
Adel K — Google review
Incredible brunch (went for the luxury one), and worth every "krone" 😋 Impressed by the quality of the products contained in the brunch and indeed enough for my tummy to become full, despite I usually eat quite a good size meal. Service by the staff was very polite. Restaurant is for kids too, so there's a bit of noise and some crumble around the floor and seats. Toilet facilities were rather small, but nice and clean. All in all: despite some crumbles laying around, it's the best brunch place I've been to for years ⭐
Kimmie B — Google review
I came here after I spontaneously reserved a table for one through Aarhus Cabinn hotel. I heard they're good, nearby and offer 10 per cent of for hotel customers, so I thought I'd go for it. The service, the food and the ambience was nothing short of stellar. The two waiters who were working my table were very accommodating and always made sure that everything was taken care of, all the while being non-intrusive. The food itself was delicious, and tastefully presented and served - compliments to the chef! I went for the three course menu, and was not disappointed. The drinks selection - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - is quite exquisite, with something suitable for every guest one could think of. Lastly, the ambience was clean, comfortable and welcoming. A very good choice in ambient music, which was at a volume where one could keep a conversation, and the lighting was continuously adjusted for the most comfortable effect. All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend Café Faust to anyone who seeks a tasty, yet reasonably priced dinner in a comfortable surrounding. (3 course meal with a drink for 315 DKK, including the 10% Cabinn Hotel discount)

This place is absolutely recommended. The pizza is amazing, and the pasta is super delicious and the icecream very tasty. The owner is a real Italian – really friendly and welcoming. All in all, a fantastic restaurant that is definitely worth a visit.
Xy Z — Google review
I don't understand how other reviews are praising the pizza, because it is mediocre at best. The dough is really disappointing, and the high quality toppings don't really make up for it. The service is really friendly and attentive, the wine was good. Their tiramisu is absolutely amazing though! However, the price of about 630 DKK for 2 pizzas, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 tiramisu seems excessive.
Thorbjörn S — Google review
My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Ispirazione in Aarhus, and I can confidently say that it was an extraordinary culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, the inviting atmosphere and warm hospitality of the staff set the tone for a memorable evening. The owner, Giovanni, is a true gem. His passion for both food and his guests is evident in every interaction. Not only was he incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu, but he also added an element of fun to the dining experience that made our visit truly special. Speaking of the menu, the culinary delights at Ispirazione are nothing short of exceptional. The Burata and Tomato appetizer was a delightful start to our meal, with fresh and flavorful ingredients that were perfectly balanced. However, the true star of the evening was the "46. Tartufo & Salsiccia" dish. The combination of flavors and textures in this dish was simply outstanding. Each bite was a burst of culinary creativity, and it left me craving more even after the last bite. In addition to the delectable food, the ambiance of the restaurant is inviting and comfortable, making it an ideal setting for a special night out or a gathering with friends and family. Overall, my experience at Ispirazione was a true delight, thanks in large part to the impeccable service and the culinary magic created by Giovanni and his team. I highly recommend a visit to Ispirazione for anyone seeking a dining experience that blends exceptional food with genuine hospitality. The "46. Tartufo & Salsiccia" alone is worth the visit, and I look forward to returning to explore more of the menu in the future.

As a dessert wonderful selection of hand made ice creams that you need to take another round. Also the espresso was excellent. Good selection of Italian beers, wines and another products. The staff was kind and the owner is really passionate of the quality of the food and your experience in the restaurant. Don't let the bit outdated looks of the restaurant and menu to fool you. This is a Italian restaurant with top tastes you should not miss!

The atmosphere at this place spread out to the street that’s way we went in, it was hard to resist. We hadn’t booked and it was quite a lot of people but they made room for us. The place was just as nice on the inside as the outside suggested. A mix of European cafe and pub. What’s not to love. They hade great staff, I think they made the best of what they had in terms of time and space. The menu was comprehensive and quite nice. Just the right mix of food you know and love no matter where you are from and danish delights. It was all to reasonable prices. I would say that the food itself could have used some more love. The waiting period was a little longer then you would like it to be and when the children got there burgers and fries there, where their fries already cold. The burgers they got didn’t taste Mitch but was quite thick and hard for kids to eat. (Mine 9&7). For me I had a Stjærneskud a traditional danish, prawn, smoked Salomon and battered fish filet sandwich. It was nice absolutely and generous in size, but not a sensation in anyway. I had a white wine to that, took a Riesling and had the misfortune that it was a sweet Riesling and not a dry crisp, didn’t realise that was still something that is in fashion, but that is also I know a matter of taste. My husband had nachos with chicken and was pleased but not over the moon. So all and all. This is the kind of place I would love to give a higher rating. They have so much going for them, and I hope to come back again and see the progresses.

Café Sidewalk is a classic spot located on the bustling Aarhus boulevard, offering a versatile menu for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. The crispy chicken burger is a standout favorite among patrons. Since 1996, this centrally located café has been treating locals to traditional favorites in a charming atmosphere. With ample outdoor seating, it's an ideal place for people-watching and enjoying the vibrant city life by the river.
Day visit to Aarhus from our cruise ship. We had spent several hours at a local attraction so it was good to stop off on our way back and grab some food and drink and people watch for a while. Ample seating outside. Our waiter was a very affable young guy who literally translated the menu for us. The photo shows what we chose but we never expected to get something so huge. No way anyone was picking up that chicken and bacon sub! The cafe had a nice vibe and a real mixture of people. It's also possible to eat inside but it was a gorgeous day. Don't expect it to be cheap, Denmark is not a cheap place to live and this is reflected in the prices but we were aware of that and Sidewalk prices were comparable to other eateries nearby.

I thought this was a nice Saturday morning experience. The servers are friendly-yet-perfunctory. Even though the menu suggests 4-6 dishes per person, I ordered 2 (I wasn't that hungry) and she didn't bat an eye. The latte with vanilla tastes like a melted affogato. Delicious!

We just happened to stroll along the river and stopped where we thought the food looked good for a spot of breakfast. They have brunch and mini brunch- which is a platter of breads and spreads/toppings etc, but we had the Danish omelette (I think we had the vegetarian option). It was delicious, a mushroom omelette topped with some vegetables and cheese, served with a salad, beetroot, and dijon mustard and a few slices of bread. Ive read some reviews since and most people love this place, only marking it down to 4 stars because it's a bit pricey.. but that's location for you. We paid around €25 for a tea, large beer and the omelette - the beer was about €8 & the tea €4, so there you go

Had dinner in this restaurant and really liked the food quality and size of the portions. It was delicious and fresh, aas you would expect from high street. Some staff could improve a little on their service but overall we would definitely eat again.

It's a super cozy place! My family enjoys it's stay. Inside, it's a bit dark, more light would be a good idea, specially for kids. The brunch it's regular, I mean, it's not bad, but nothing special. Club sandwich it's bigger than I expected, that's cools!
Manuel F — Google review
I don't judge the quality of the whole menu, but in my experience the espresso was undrinkable (made with soluble powder and served cold); low quality brownie, served 15 min after coffee; uncoordinated personnel. This is not what you would expect for the price you paid.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Aarhus, Cafe Stiften is a delightful spot that caters to diverse tastes, making it an ideal choice for families and friends who may not see eye-to-eye on dining preferences. With a menu boasting everything from juicy burgers and hearty spaghetti to fresh bagels and invigorating veggie smoothies, there's truly something for everyone. The cafe also shines with its selection of healthy options, including freshly squeezed juices and delicious salads that are sure to please health-conscious diners.
The food is fine and the atmosphere is nice and cosy. It is also well located since it is between the train station and many buses stops. I'm a bit disappointed by the dessert, it is pricey, small and just... the flavors are blend.

I only got a cup of coffee in here, but it was very nice. If I ever want some coffee before taking the train or something, this place is definitely worth a revisit. Their menu looked interesting too, so that’s something I will explore in the future.

Beautiful café with a good selection of drinks and dishes. Staff was friendly. I really liked that they served fair trade sugar with my coffee. Overall its a bit pricey, but maybe that is to be expected in aarhus. The decor is really nice. The washrooms are clean. Overall a good experience

The lamb tenderloin burger is very good, and so is the spicy mayo. The sofa is terrible and the service is subpar however, and you have to go to the counter to order for some unknown reason.

Nice place, we shared 5 dishes from the social brunch menu. Everything was delicious but it took forever for the food to arrive, and there where only four other people at the time.

On the plus side, the restaurant is spacious and cozy, they have some gluten free options. We had the burger with gluten free bread and they were good. The fries were very nice, the best of all food we got. We also got the gluten free pizza which was incredibly disappointing. It look and tasted like a frozen pizza bought in a store. We don’t recommend it at all. The staff and the general service was flat and not very nice. We were very hungry and this place solve our need to eat with gluten free options, but I don’t think we will return.

Cafe Ziggy is a charming spot known for its delicious brunch options and good selection of vegetarian dishes. The avocado toast and chickpea-based veggie burger with mini roast potatoes come highly recommended for their quality, despite the slightly higher prices. Located in Trojborg, it's a must-visit for coffee or a meal. While the cortado is well-made with perfectly steamed milk, some patrons feel that the latte art could be improved.
Good coffee and desserts:) Me and my partner are lactose intolerant, baristas didnt have any issues with using oat/almond milk instead of regular milk. We also ordered one of the desserts, but after a minute she came back and told us that its actually with lactose and proposed some other dessert alternatives- that was an extra point, that waiters are aware of what they are serving:) Place itself is cozy with plenty of tables to sit at.
Aga — Google review
Grabbed brunch at Cafe Ziggy as the cafe was well applauded. We made an online rsvp and were seated quickly. The Cafe was crowded although had plenty of room in the back bar area. Cafe Ziggy was simple with a few choices for brunch. We chose the egg and croissant, a small board, chia and skyr bowls. Our first time here and the bowls are quite large. Coffee are made to order and the boards are shareable at either size. Unfortunately for me the rye and grain breads lacked taste and substance, a few slices, large pat of butter and a slice of cheese and cold cut was too plain for the price. The skyr and oats on the other hand were a great size and filling. A tip when ordering, the small board comes with a side of the skyr albeit a smaller version but filling. Asked to take away the large bowl and was told there was no container to go... Had to improvise and asked for a to go coffee cup and low and behold it all fit. Cafe Ziggy seems to be a popular place for coffee and a cozy meal. Would recommend ordering shareable plates and beers on tap for an easy meal.

Cozy little spot for a tasty brunch. A couple of good veggie options. We had the avocado toast, which was delicious and the veggie burger, which is made of chickpeas and herbs/spices served with mini roast potatoes. Can definitely recommend. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but the quality is really good. So it's worth every penny.

Danish-only menus but the staff were friendly and helpful. Good beer and above average food. A rather decent burger with potatoes. Soup was delicious. The quiche was a little disappointing as it seemed to have been reheated in a microwave. Note that you need to order at the counter.

The food is ok, I would always come for the generous nachos 🤩. But few weeks ago I had a very awkward experience with a young waiter who seemed extremely bothered to be at work and couldn't even say what on the breakfast menu was dairy-free. I think this café is too hyped for what it actually is.

We were just passing by and the experience was pretty good. We tried mexican burger and house burger. Both were really good, and the fries OMG that was the best thing. I coudn't finish all cause' it was too much food for me. Service was really kind with us and fast. Very good experience. Good price.

Waiter was UNPROFESSIONAL, lack of customer service, when the food came to our table my nachos with chicken was basically spread out cheddar microved and burn (somehow) store bought tortilla chips, the NOT homemade salsa was more sweet then candy! When we went to go pay our waiter was on the phone and a coworker just stared at us no one told us what we ordered and how much it was going to be finally a price was displayed and I was like is this our bill or what? All and all would not recommend at all waste of money for mediocre food, you get better food in a fast food joint
Peter — Google review
The late was literally just milk, you couldn't feel any coffee taste, waiting time for just two pancakes was so long like 30 minutes, then they brought one instead of two and we had two wait ten more minutes on top of that, then instead of apologizing for that the waitress said she was just preparing the order,I think they can really improve themselves in terms of service and coffee quality.
Dena G — Google review
I don’t recommend eating here! The food (we had pasta) was quite disappointing, as it was made with low-quality and tasteless ingredients that failed to provide any real flavor. It felt like there was little effort put into the dishes, leaving a bland and unsatisfying experience. Additionally, the cutlery used was of poor quality, and to top it off, the plate I received was broken, which was quite off-putting. There were no restroom facilities available, which added to the overall inconvenience. On a positive note, the service was decent, but it couldn't make up for the lackluster dining experience.

Café Smagløs is a great place to visit in Århus, with its relaxing atmosphere and interesting style. Café Smagløs is unpretentious and it’s a nice place no matter what brings me here. It was the first cafe I visited when I first traveled to Aarhus and I enjoy coming back when I visit. My favorite is catching live jazz on a weekday, it’s soothing and makes me feel alive no matter what day I’ve had.

Cozy little place in the heart of Aarhus, not far from the harbor area. Professional and good service. The variety of different burgers, also vegan on the menu, can be complimented with a lot of different drinks. The beef in the burger is grilled, which gives it a really nice flavor. My beef was a little overcooked, but it still tasted great. A good place for lunch, dinner, or a night out.

She made me a long coffee, I said it wasn't what I asked for, praying to make another one, half the dose of the one she served me, she made another one but still nothing, my instructions for the girl were evidently not worthy of consideration. I gave up the coffee which cost me 36 Danish crowns, €4.82 and left this place run by inexperienced people completely unaware of what it means to be at the customer's service. Encouraged by good reviews and a craving for pasta, we decided to try this place. We opted for the carbonara and the salmon pasta in tomato sauce. Both were decent, but neither was impressive. There was nothing groundbreaking about them. Would I recommend it? If you're nearby and hungry, then yes, because the portions are really generous, but I definitely wouldn't come back here specifically thinking about eating good pasta.

We walked past and saw the restaurant and went in -and good thing we did. Wonderful little place, delicious food and friendly service. We liked what we saw on the menu and ordered starters, mains, and a dessert along with beer and soda. The melon and ham was a joy to look at and delicious to taste. The carbonara was steaming warm, authentic, and plentiful. The shared the tiramisu but could have easily eaten a whole one each, it was finger licking good. We will be back and try other dishes. There are tuesdays tortelllonis, Wednesday pats and another dish on offer on Thursdays along with a perfectly paired glass of wine. We might try that.

The BOX exhibition area showcases an exciting array of design and art from both Danish and international talents.
Super cozy and hip place tucked away from the main street! Great place to get some work done, and the food and drinks are also really good!! A big plus is the rooftop terrace as well, which is just a great place to meet some friends
Julian K — Google review
The atmosphere is great here - whether inside or on the rooftop. Great vibes!! They have a nice selection of food and beverages - even canned fish and fresh bread. Their coffee is great. The only minus is that it took about 40 minutes from we ordered the coffees til they got served…. Can probably be done a bit quicker…
Dan M — Google review
Nice hip vibe in this hidden gem. Beautiful location on the top floor of the building. Fresh, beautifully prepared food. Fantastic coffee.
Eric M — Google review
Good coffee and friendly staff. The rooftop is cute and amazing to enjoy to coffee and view. Also perfect to do uni or homework stuff as there are a lot of indoor seating options and even separate meeting rooms.

A Perfect Spot in Aarhus – LYNfabrikken I had breakfast at LYNfabrikken in Aarhus, and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere is creative and relaxed—ideal for a slow morning or a catch-up over coffee. I ordered breakfast along with a chai latte, and both were absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The chai latte stood out—fragrant, well-balanced, and comforting without being overly sweet. Definitely a place I’d return to.
Kishore A — Google review
Always a good experience at LYNfabrikken! On a sunny weekend morning the rooftop is buzzing with the best energy💛
Sophia S — Google review
I went to All - LYNfabrikken this week for the first time with my friends and had an amazing moment. The place is cosy, the staff super friendly and helpful plus the food and tea I had were delicious. I went up to check the terrace and the view is amazing and it has a covered area, in case it rains. I really recommend this spot in town 🏭☕️❤️

Amazing spot for a beer or to work/study. However, it is pricey.

Surf Café is a self-service spot with good food and friendly staff located by the marina. Some visitors suggest adding more shade for sunny days. The cafe has a Caribbean vibe, offering delicious food and drinks, making guests feel welcomed. While it's cozy, some find it slightly pricey but praise the excellent paninis and salads served there. The place exudes a surfer vibe and provides great service according to satisfied customers.
A great little cafe on the marina that serves excellent coffee, cakes and lunches. Beautiful views of the marina and plenty of outside seating. Excellent oat flat white and citron tart.
Steven H — Google review
The salad with pesto and cheese was delicious, my friend got the panini which I need to try next time! It's definitely on the pricier side, therefore only 3 stars :( Very down to earth vibe and beautiful views of the harbour, perfect on a warm day.
Pavlína F — Google review
Terrible service, the prices on the menu don’t match with what you’re actually paying, and they pretend not to have known despite this being a problem for a couple months, according to the reviews, probably hoping that people don’t notice or are so fed up and annoyed by the time they notice, that they choose to leave. The personnel is not very friendly and welcoming, the food is not particularly good
Anca G — Google review
So like summer ❤️
Marina — Google review
Cozy. On the expensive side. But the salad was one of the best I have ever had.
Anna M — Google review
Good food, well sized portions, friendly staff, more of a self-service kind of place. Location by the marina is great. A bit more shade on sunny days would be great (bigger parasols maybe?). We had the chicken panini and the salmon panini and were very happy about it.
Kate — Google review
The place looks so chill and inviting. But the service is everything but chill and inviting! Unprofessional service, cold food, no serviceskills to redeem the situation. Very arrogant and argumentative staffmember. The nails are sticking up on the tables, so make sure you have your tetanus shots up to date. We really wished the experience matched the location and the concept, alas it did not! I did contact the company that owns this and other restaurants, and was met with great understanding and a wish to improve matters. They were very receptive and offered good service. Hopefully the experience in Surf Café going forward will be improved.

Excellent coffee and pastries, so we came back for lunch and enjoyed an excellent selection from the menu. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Best Coffee Mocha ever but very pricey. The chocolate ball under that thick cream top was amazing.

It is a very bad place and they do not treat foreigners in a good way , two times I came with (gave kort ) and they told me sorry we do not accept (gave kort) ,what the hell is that I paid 200 krone for that (gave kort) , I do not recommend this place. The staff are unfriendly.

Great coffee house with good seating inside and on the pedestrianised street area outside. Nice and quite despite the busy day outside and it provided a welcome refuge for weary travellers.

Peach iced has no taste, only icecube with whipped cream. Carrot cake was tasty. But toilet was very dirty.

It's better than Starbucks and you know it. Support Baresso! I saw Connie Nielsen there last week. She was totally chill and strikingly beautiful in real life. You know you won't see her a Starbucks - Baresso - Danish as it gets.

We Feat Aarhus Guldsmedgade is a charming coffee spot in Aarhus that opens early, making it a rare find on Sunday mornings. The interior features raw exposed brick and old ceilings, creating a great setting to spend hours enjoying their delicious coffee and juices. Customers have praised the friendly staff, cool vibes, and recommended trying the "Hulk" juice. Additionally, online orders for longer trips have been described as perfect with delicious acai bowls and lunch options.
Walked past here and was drawn in by their sign about Coffee. Good coffee places open before 10 is hard to come by in Aarhus om a Sunday. Turns out, that he guy behind the bar actually opened early and we were the lucky first ones in there. Great setting and certainly a place one can come and spend several hours. Raw exposed brick and wonderful old cielings. I had a great coffee and Juice, which the family followed up by ordering another 3. None of us were disappointed and the guy there was super friendly. You should go and give it a shot.
Kenn ( — Google review
Amazing coffee in Aarhus! We ordered online for a longer trip and everything was perfect! Ready on time and both the coffee and the açaí bowl and lunch bowls are super delicious. Thanks again for a great experience! We will be back <3
Helge H — Google review
Really friendly staff, cool music and vibes. Enjoyed a great coffee and juice watching the world go by. Recommend the Hulk, it's green mean machine of a juice!
Nick T — Google review
Yummy vegetarian salad and sandwich. Upbeeter juice was the highlight.. Very refreshing. Nice staff.. We went at 15:30 and was super quick.. Thanks.
Amrita C — Google review
Strangely they chose to let their doorstep be fixed during opening hours which was really loud and there were sparks flying through the restaurant. Why would you not do this before opening or after closing? However the food is ok but overpriced. The coffee tasted as if the guy didn‘t know how to use the machine.
Felix H — Google review
It is beautiful and there's very good food for fair prices.
Jan S — Google review
Delicious, healthy food. I had the plant to eat and the twister to drink. Both were very delicious and full of flavor. Okay price, more on the expensive side but I found it worth my money.

After having heard great reviews about Nonna Napoletana in Hinnerup, we decided to try it and the experience was excellent. The owner recommended us several dishes and everything was delicious, prepared with love and passion. The staff was very friendly and attentive, always ready to help . We ordered two pizzas, a pasta ragu, a salad, fish, tiramisu, and ice cream. We were totally satisfied from all of them. The quality was exceptional and the prices very reasonable. We have been in Denmark for a few years and we can confidently say that it was one of the best food we have had here by far. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.
BOULAKOS7 — Google review
We had a lovely evening and very delicious meal. The owner's detailed explanation of the ingredients and cooking techniques enhanced the enjoyment of the meal. A wonderful experience in an intimate setting.
Sarah H — Google review
Wonderful place. I enjoyed a simple prosciutto crudo sandwich and a coffee for lunch and it was absolutely fantastic. Top notch ingredients in stone oven baked bread. Relaxing music and beautiful art rounded off a perfect midday break. Too bad I'm not in Hinnerup more often.

Wonderful experience, so authentic Italian food that it's very hard to come by, definitely 5 stars. Staff are helpful and pleasant, a hidden gem of a restaurant, must try.

Great hospitality from the owner really made us feel welcome. The pizza was traditional Neapolitan with exquisite quality ingredients. Highly recommend and the homemade tiramisu topped it all off.

Cafe
Spilcaféen is a charming board game café in Aarhus that offers a perfect setting for a relaxing and enjoyable time. The café provides an extensive collection of the best and newest games suitable for all ages and interests. Visitors can take advantage of the 2-for-1 beer deal, while young kids can play for free. Additionally, guests can indulge in affordable fresh popcorn and delicious nachos.
Seemed like a fun place. I couldn’t spend time here but loved the idea of a cafe with board games. Cool place to chill out with friends without using technology n specially phones n tabs n screens I really wish I could at least play one board game from their big collection. They have two cages like this in Aarhus. If anyone has time do go. No clue about the food though
Meena J — Google review
Good and fun board game café! Since there are many international customers, it would be great to have more games available in English. Some of the games are also quite worn out and could use replacing.
Alexis — Google review
Wonderful place to go with friends and play board games. I went here a few times with different groups of friends and everyone liked this place. You pay a little bit for a seat, but you can stay there as long as you want to; coffee is really cheap, popcorn is delicious. Staff is friendly, nice and very helpful. Wide range of different board games in English version.
Aga — Google review
Pretty decent board game cafe. I just can’t help but feel like it’s too expensive if I compare it to bastard café that is located in the heart if Copenhagen. Entrance fee of 35kr, in bastard it’s free. A couple hundred games to choose from, bastard has over 5000. Beer was around 60kr, I believe it’s around 40-50 in bastard. So while it is probably the best place to play board games in Aarhus, it just doesn’t stack up to it’s competitors
Peter E — Google review
Now this is a nice little gem in Aarhus! A board game cafe that can offer hours of fun for a small fee! It's great if you've been touristing all day and want somewhere to wind down! They are open until late as well so no need to rush home either. Played a couple of games and had some whisky and muffins (and these are some great muffins too!) Friendly staff in here to help out with whatever you need as well!
SkyGrinder2011 — Google review
Love this place!! Been so many times, the board game selection is amazing and the atmosphere and just the place in it self is so cozy, love coming here

After the stunning walk around the beautiful Brabrand lake, this was a perfect spot to take coffee and a bit of rest while having amazing view. Highly recommended!
Aleksandra H — Google review
The location is fantastic, perfect for enjoying the sun ! The menu is small but offers surprisingly good quality for this type of place. The fries were crispy and generously portioned, and the hotdog was flavorful. However, the coffee and hot chocolate were mediocre. Service was friendly but quite slow. While the food is tasty and the setting beautiful, the very high prices take away from the overall experience.
Alexis — Google review
Cool place, someone had a great idea to open a cafe. Really nice service, food, there is not a big choice there, but thanks to that the food is really well prepared and tasty. Ice cream, coffee, drinks and local craft beers, and all this in a beautiful area.

This place is so goooooood!!! Great view, delicious food (I got churros) and friendly service (look at the cream on my warm cocoa - they gave me cream as tall as the glass just because I said I like that!) I would definitely visit again during my stay in Aarhus :)
