Landmark
Ponte Vecchio is a charming medieval bridge with a rich history dating back to Roman times. It is renowned for its unique shops selling jewelry and souvenirs. On the northern side of the river, visitors can explore major Florence attractions such as the Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower, Piazza della Signoria, Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, and more. The bridge has endured significant events throughout history including reconstruction after a devastating flood and surviving World War II.
I love the bridge, it's interesting to imagine that there were actually people living. Now you can find there just stores, all of them with silver and gold jewelry. In the middle of the bridge is quite a good place to take a photo.
Silvia B — Google review
The Ponte Vecchio is more than just a bridge; it's a living legend and a must-see landmark of Florence. On both sides of the bridge, tiny houses cluster together, essentially shops overhanging the river. This creates the atmosphere of a medieval quarter that has miraculously survived to this day. Now, as many centuries ago, the bridge is primarily occupied by jewelry shops. The display cases, adorned with gold and precious stones, glitter even in the shadow of the bridge. Stopping by these display cases is a must, and they add a special touch of luxury to the bridge. The most impressive moments are the views from the gaps between the shops. The walk out onto the central section, overlooking the Arno River and the other Florentine bridges, is absolutely mesmerizing. It's the perfect vantage point to soak up the city. The bridge, which survived World War II (it was the only bridge in the city that remained intact), is steeped in history. A stroll along it is a step back in time, to the era of the Medici, who ordered the Vasari Corridor built over the shops to ensure safe passage between the Palazzo Vecchio and the Palazzo Pitti. The Ponte Vecchio is a must-see. It's beautiful both from afar (especially at sunset) and up close, where you can immerse yourself in its bustling, historic atmosphere.
Witold D — Google review
The Ponte Vecchio (Italian: Ponte Vecchio, Old Bridge) is a bridge in Florence located at the narrowest point of the Arno River, almost opposite the Uffizi Gallery. It is the oldest bridge in the city: it was built in 1345 by the architect Neri di Fioravanti and has retained its original appearance to this day. Originally, it housed butchers' shops; today, it houses jewelry stores and souvenir sellers. This bridge have unique atmosphere and feels so special. Totally free for visit and im Definitely recommend it.
Guliola L — Google review
Ponte Vecchio is such a cool and historic bridge! It’s always busy, but that’s part of the charm. The little shops along the bridge make it fun to explore, and it’s a great spot to take pictures with the river and beautiful Florence in the background. Definitely worth a visit!
Dennis D — Google review
Always hard to take on board you’re inside an icon, much like the Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty. The Ponte Vecchio is curious, interesting, and over a little too quickly. Really, its iconic nature is best taken in from a distance, to appreciate the gothic overcrowding of buildings onto a bridge, and its famous arches. The view from Piazzella Michelangelo as it lines up with the other bridges, at sunset, in silhouette, is a must-see. Ridiculously busy in summer, you’re best off getting there very early, or maybe appreciating it later on at night. Or a different time of year, Autumn is a good choice.
Gordon D — Google review
I am SO glad we waited until tourist season died down a little. There were still many people here, on the Ponte Vecchio and throughout the city, but it was manageable. As usual, Florence is magnificent and the Vecchio summarizes the surrounding beauty with a single effort. Beautiful!
Edward I — Google review
Ponte Vecchio is hands down one of the coolest spots in Florence. Walking across the bridge, with the Arno River below and history all around, feels like stepping right into a postcard. It’s not just a bridge — it’s full of life, with jewelry shops, little boutiques, and workshops squeezed on both sides. The bridge itself is so charming, and the way the shops curve along it gives it a really unique vibe. Sunset is honestly magical — the light hitting the river makes the whole city glow. Even during the day, the energy is great, with tourists, locals, and street musicians all mixing together. It’s amazing to think this bridge has survived floods, wars, and centuries of change and still looks iconic. Take your time strolling across, peek into the little artisan shops, and look down at the river and rooftops — there’s so much to soak in. Ponte Vecchio isn’t just a way to get across the river — it’s history, art, and life all in one. Definitely a must-see in Florence, and somewhere you’ll want to come back to again.
Chen Z — Google review
Tough, huh? I want to rate the bridge, not the shoulder-to-shoulder pilgrimage of humanity crawling across it. I want to see the Basilica. I want to see the art, the monuments, the history that’s supposed to make Florence timeless. But every step is stonewalled by a tsunami of tourists and jewelry shops gleaming like a parody of the Renaissance. I was one of the tourists… The bridge itself? Magnificent. well built, perfectly aged, a testament to true craftsmanship that’s survived floods and centuries. But now it’s burdened by the weight of gold, humanity, and a material driven generation. … maybe its always been…? The Ponte Vecchio deserves five stars. The experience of crossing it? Two, and that’s being generous.

Located in the heart of Florence, Mercato Centrale is a historic market building that has been transformed into a modern food hall. The ground floor still houses traditional vendors selling fresh produce, meat, and seafood. However, the real attraction lies on the upper level where Mercato Centrale offers a diverse range of Italian regional cuisine. Visitors can indulge in delectable pizzas from Ciccio or explore other food court-style options such as pasta, meats, seafood, and salads.
What a crazy busy place, but the food options are endless and all are delicious. Plenty of wine and spirits as well. I could’ve eaten there every day of my trip.

Sandwich shop

Fast food restaurant
All’Antico Vinaio is a renowned gastronomic institution in Florence, known for its exceptional sandwiches and schiacciate. Despite being more of a sandwich shop than a restaurant, it has gained immense popularity, evident from the long queues that form daily. Tourists flock to savor their iconic Schiacciata, featuring freshly baked bread paired with top-quality cold cuts like Tuscan salami, prosciutto, and succulent porchetta.
If you’re looking for the most delicious sandwiches in Italy, this is the place. Every bite is packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients and authentic flavors. No wonder it’s always busy—people know how good it is! The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, even when the line is long. They manage the crowd with a smile and make you feel welcome. Just keep in mind: there aren’t many places to sit, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot or quick stop. The toilet is not the cleanest, but it’s okay for a place this crowded. Overall, if you care about taste more than comfort, this place is 100% worth it. I’ll definitely come back!
PegiTa ( — Google review
For some reason, I kept seeing videos of All'Antico Vinaio pop up on my social media, and luckily we were able to check it out in Florence. When we arrived and saw the line stretching down the street, we really hoped it was worth the hype. And it absolutely was! This has to be one of the best places for a quick and delicious sandwich in all of Italy. The service is incredibly efficient, and the line moves by so fast that you'll have your amazing sandwich in your hands before you know it. If you're in Florence and looking for a quick, delicious lunch, you need to check this place out. Don't let the line scare you—it's part of the experience and it goes by quick!
Anthony ( — Google review
Can't believe i didn't know about this shop when i stumbled upon it. Saw a crowd moving towards that direction and felt something. My group was hungry and decided to follow the crowd. And woooow we were decently surprised by the queue and googled it. That's when i found out about this world famous joint. The sandwich was worth the 20mins wait in the queue. Had time to look at the menu anyway. Had a great sandwich full of meat for dinner. Had to share with a friend cause i can't finish on my own, it was that big. There are drinks, limited seats and table in the back of the shop and upstairs too, but eating it on the street had a different feeling. 5 Star and a must eat on my list when visiting Firenze.
Astor T — Google review
I've been looking forward to trying the famous schiacciata sandwiches of Florence, and so I thought it was best to try the most popular one: All'Antica Vinaio. There's a long line even late in the afternoon, but it moves quickly and we got to order in about 10 minutes of waiting. The servers were very friendly, and they had our orders ready in a few minutes. Each sandwich was huge—enough for two people to share one. The filling was very good and delicious, especially "La Paradiso," which had generous slices of mortadella and slathered with creamy stracciatella cheese and pistachio cream. However, the schiacciatta itself was tough and hard. No matter how good the filling was, it was still a pain to eat it. I couldn't finish the entire sandwich in one sitting, so I brought it home, stored it in the fridge, and ate it the next day. Guess what? The bread became softer and easier to bite through. I enjoyed it more the second day even if it wasn't made fresh anymore. 😅
Cheska P — Google review
What a sandwich!! So many flavour combinations that they have. Try something different, you won't regret it. The lines can be long, and it's worth the wait. Don't wanna wait too long, skip breakfast, they open at ten! People making the sandwiches are having fun. We couldn't finish it all at once, a great snack before dinner. Recommended!!
Theo K — Google review
My husband and I ate here for lunch on our first day in Florence! It was a last minute decision because the sandwich shop we were going to go to turned out to be closed on Sundays. Luckily for us this worked in our favor! The line was very long, but the staff is so quick with their service and it moved very fast! I ordered the paradiso and recommend it to anyone that stops by!
Brittany R — Google review
The best sandwich in Florence. There will be a long line but it’s worth the wait. If you can get there before peak times the wait will be shorter. Everything is fresh, and the only downside is I didn’t have enough time to try all the different sandwiches.
Joe K — Google review
Please feel free to scroll right past my 3 star review and onto the tens of thousands of 5 star reviews… my husband loooooves a sandwich and put this on our must visit list while in Florence. We came on the early side around 11:30am and got through the line in under 15 minutes. There are 3 separate lines that you can get in so the operation is pretty efficient but once you have your sandwich there is almost nowhere to sit. You will see people with their sandwiches all over the place for several blocks in the vicinity. We ordered the Dante and the Inferno and after one or two bites we tossed them and moved on. It seems like they are known for their creams but the truffle cream on the Dante was so rich and completely overwhelmed all the other flavors in the sandwich. The Inferno was just bland, the eggplant was not even a little bit spicy and the whole thing just wasn’t great. I know the internet loves this place but our experience was pretty underwhelming.

The Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence is a stunning Neo-Gothic Franciscan church that holds an array of historical and artistic treasures. It features remarkable Giotto frescoes, Vasari's Last Supper, and the tombs of renowned figures such as Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli. The church is part of Florence's rich cultural heritage, alongside other iconic landmarks like Santa Maria del Fiore and the Uffizi.
May 2025. Seems to be one of the major Church destinations in Florence. A little further out from the core tourist destinations. Paid to enter and was able to also visit the cloisters. Personally, like for some of the churches in Florence, I appreciated the exterior more than the interior. The attached piazza is nice.
Patrick V — Google review
It is one of the must to visit basilica and you do not need to plan in advance or wait long queues. We got our ticket at the door and entered immediately. Its resting place or memorial for many artists.
Elis A — Google review
Of the many historical sites that are in Florence, this one became our favorite…and we were not expecting that. It is the resting place of Michelangelo and Galileo among many others. It was interesting to walk about and discover all those that rest there. It was peaceful. It’s also accessible for wheelchair users. We had free admission because I’m in a wheelchair.
Brad B — Google review
We attempted on a Friday, but just missed the 5:30 pm by few minutes. However, on the following morning, we got free entry to basilica because of feast of st. Francis of Assisi; we had to wait for 30 min or so as the opening time was at 12:30 pm. The basilica is exquisite. Tombs of three stalwarts - Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli - were our interest, so was the memorial for Dante. However, all other artworks in the basilica were as magnificent and gave us enough opportunity to witness, reflect, absorb and internalize long. A memorable experience indeed.
Rajarshi S — Google review
The Basilica is the principal church of the Franciscan Order and is often called the Temple of the Italian Glories for being the resting place of many of Italy’s great figures. Designed by Arnolfo di Cambio, it was begun in 1294 and completed in 1442 in Gothic style. Highlights include Brunelleschi’s Pazzi Chapel, frescoes by Giotto and his followers, and the tombs and monuments of renowned Italians.
Seokjin H — Google review
Do not leave Florence without visiting this church. Most tourists head only to the Duomo (bigger and free) but I think this smaller basilica is much more engaging. There are some tombs of A-listers like Leonard d V, Michelangelo, Dante, Galileo etc. But what’s really fascinating are the frescoes by Giotto and if you are a fan of Giotto, there are more of his art work here than in all the big name museums combined. With the many frescoes , there is much color inside beyond just the stain glass windows. Much more fascinating than many of the mid-sized florentine museums!
GESBKK B — Google review
Longish queue so better to get tickets online (plus 1 euro for online). Worth every euro. The church is packed with great art and important people's tombs (Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, Rossini, Guglielmo Marconi).
Elaine L — Google review
Nice Basílica, if it were not for the tombs I don't think there would be any big interest in this place. The 10€ entrance fee may seem a lot but it helps with the conservation so...

Gustapizza is a renowned wood-fired pizza joint in Florence, known for its soft dough and delicious pie crust. The unassuming and friendly atmosphere, along with the huge wood-fired oven, embodies the essence of an authentic Italian pizza restaurant. Despite often having long queues outside, locals from both north and south of the river flock to Gustapizza due to its fresh ingredients and doughy pizza bases.
We went here for lunch after visiting the palace. We were seated in no time and our food was fresh and quick. The pizza was delicious and were truly hope to come again.
Natalia B — Google review
Good pizza, not life changing, but it’s still good. Got a margherita - crisp and fragrant skin, fluffy and soft inside, fresh toppings. A great standard of what pizza should be like. We came 5 minutes before opening, got a seat first and ordered rather quickly! I would not want to queue for this.
Jed L — Google review
Dough is ok, not very fluffy though; no fresh mushrooms on the pizza (but mushrooms out of a can) and cheap ham, cut very thick. Pizza looks nice but I’ve had better pizza at home than here and did not like it at all. Would not go there again. Outside seating is super loud with traffic right next to the tables.
Tanja G — Google review
This was my favorite pizza of all time back in 2010. I’ve had 15 years to taste many others and it still is in my top 3. I got the basic Margarita and the sausage and mushrooms. They were both delicious. I usually hate mushrooms on pizza but they were so fresh and good I ate the majority of my wife’s pizza. Pro tip.. get in the take out line and save a ton of time waiting in line. We took ours back to our ABB and enjoyed it just the same. This place got mega famous and you will wait at least 20-45 minutes in line anytime between opening and 9 pm. Went at 3pm and there was no one in the take out line. Went got our pizzas in under 10 minutes!
Challenja D — Google review
All our pizzas are delicious.. there was a wait about 30 minutes to get in. If you have a large group take turns beating in line while you get a drink across the road :-) I only complaint with the place was that it was extremely hot and there weren’t enough fans in there. Take a foldable or hand fan with you if you go there in the summer.
Anora W — Google review
Loved the pizza here! We had the margarita, gusta pizza, and the truffle — all were delicious! The hospitality was great as well, our waiter was so nice and funny! Will definitely be back!
Alexis S — Google review
Ordered the Calabrese and Gustapizza (per the waitresses recommendation). The Calabrese was incredible from start to finish. I’ve never had a better dough in my life. 10/10. Gustapizza very underwhelming. For that being what was recommended, kinda crazy. 6/10. The reason for the three stars is just the inconvenience of it all. Arrived at 6:40, sat at 7:10. Didn’t get served food til 7:50. Over an hour all-in just isn’t worth it for this experience. PRO TIP: order to go, the line moves wayyyyy faster. maybe if we would’ve done that, I could see it being four stars.
Dimitri K — Google review
My friend promised me this would be the best pizza I ever ate and she was correct! We went twice on our trip. The line moved quickly and we were able to enjoy a beverage from GustaBar while we waited. The inside is very warm on a summer day so bring your fan if you plan to be there during that time. Otherwise the pizza was phenomenal.

La Ménagère is a chic bistro located in the heart of Florence, offering a unique blend of dining, shopping, and aesthetic pleasure. Housed in a former hardware store, this whimsical establishment combines a restaurant, café, and flower shop. The space invites visitors to embark on a gastronomical journey while surrounded by beautiful blooms. After undergoing renovations, La Ménagère has become the go-to spot for those seeking an elegant and stylish atmosphere.
We came here for breakfast and we absolutely enjoyed it. We sat at one of the patio tables, and my husband had the Eggs Benedict, and I had the Fresh Fruit with Pancakes with Maple Syrup. The food was both fresh and delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable. It has been one of our favorite restaurants we visited on our vacation.

We had an amazing dinner at La Ménagère — everything from start to finish was perfect. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere is stunning, with a beautifully curated interior that blends elegance and creativity — we especially loved the charming flower shop inside, which added such a unique and romantic touch. It’s the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, and we left with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!

Walking into your restaurant was like walking into an enchanted boutique store which served food and drinks and soothed the eyes with the colourful products...the decor was truly exquisite and the high ceilings and archways added so much history to the ambience...The hostess was extremely professional...the Limoncello Gin drink was absolutely fresh!!. Being a vegetarian I enjoyed the sage and asparagus agnolotti...so much flavour!! We also enjoyed the jacket potato and truffle!!The staff was very professional and made our evening memorable ♥️♥️ Thank You🙏🏽

Cute place but I don’t think the food is worth all the hype at all. Local guides were right. Try to get a sit near the piano as it has more natural light coming out of a dome. I had the pancakes with fruits. Make sure you order the syrup on the side coz it’s very sweet. The smoothie was not as tasty I wanted

The restaurant is absolutely stunning—so fancy and beautifully designed, with a great atmosphere that feels high-end but still welcoming. The food was delicious, and I’ll definitely be coming back. It’s not just a place to eat, but also a lovely spot to socialize and gather with friends. You can even buy flowers or candles, or simply enjoy the live piano music, which adds a special touch. Highly recommend!

We came on a cool September night and sat outside while we enjoyed some cocktail. Cool jazz and r&b soul music. The vibe here is impeccable, from the decor to the music to the energy of the space. We ordered the Royal Garibaldi, and it was fresh, crisp, and so balanced. Definitely a step up from your usual spritz, it’s complex and bright, just like the atmosphere. If you’re in Florence and want to soak in an unforgettable evening with great drinks and even better vibes, this is the place. Can’t recommend it enough.

Very attentive personnel. Good quality of the coffee and pancakes. Interior design covered with natural flowers, as there is inside a flower section to buy. Definitely recommend

Enjoyed a fantastic veggie tasting menu dinner here - 5 courses for 80 euros. Enjoyed some bread and homemade butter to begin, with an espresso martini which was delicious. This place was fantastic value for money - each course was tasty and was very full on leaving!

"I Fratellini" is a charming hole-in-the-wall sandwich bar that has been run by Armando and Michele Perrino for about twenty years. This tiny establishment, which dates back to 1875, offers classic panini filled with quality meats and cheeses from small Tuscan producers. The cozy spot has no indoor seating; patrons order and dine outside. The wine selection complements the sandwiches perfectly, offering both bottled options and wines by the glass.
Definitely worth a visit for lunch if you're in Florence. In the centre but not over priced and really tasty. A shop across the way had a ridiculous queue and was serving similar items at a higher price - don't fall for what is likely a TikTok trend and go here instead. We got the number 2 and 23 and both were delicious. There are some small stools to perch on in the street if it's not too busy. Very friendly staff. There are two windows you can order from which speeds up the service too.

Great traditional sandwich spot in Florence — worth a visit. A classic, old-school sandwich shop tucked away down a quiet street in Florence. They have loads of options to choose from, with generous portions and very reasonable prices. Service was quick and they also offer takeaway drinks at good prices, which is a nice touch. The sandwich itself was packed with fresh, flavourful fillings and felt properly traditional. The only slight downside is that the bread is very crusty, making the sandwich a little dry overall — something to be aware of if you prefer softer bread. Also, there’s no seating outside, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot. That said, it’s still a great, authentic place for a proper Tuscan sandwich. Would happily recommend for a quick, tasty bite while exploring the city.

Grabbed schiacciata sandwiches after long exhausting hot afternoon traveling and touring Florence. Quick service, grab and go sit on a stoop to enjoy. Would recommend a sandwich with more sauce - mine was slightly dry. My husband had the #3 and loved it.
Kristina I — Google review
There is another nearby shop that sells similar sandwiches with a very long line. We tried this one due to a recommendation from our Airbnb host. The wait wasn't too long. The sandwiches are huge as seen from the pictures. They're not bad. I assume the local sandwiches are all similar and I can't justify the long line for it.
Jimmy L — Google review
Long queues for a sandwich but the line does move fairly quickly so don’t like this discourage you! Lots of options, I visited twice and tried both the panini and the sandwich - I preferred the panini as found the sandwich was a bit dry. I tried the ham, cream cheese and rocket, and the salami - both used high quality ingredients and were enjoyable. A good lunch option when around the cathedral!

After arriving in Florence from Toronto, we came across this outdoor restaurant just outside the Santa Maria Novella train station, and it was the perfect place for our first meal in Italy. The buffalo mozzarella Margherita pizza was delicious—light, fresh, and perfectly prepared. A simple, satisfying dish that really hit the spot after a long journey. A great introduction to the flavors of Florence and a memorable way to begin our stay.

Simple but very tasty. The mozzarella was fresh and delicious. They have a menu but you can also build your own sandwich. The parsley sauce is a great addition to many sandwiches. Be warned that there are some stools outside but don’t bank on getting to sit. The line looks long but goes fast! Definitely worth it.

There’s two ordering windows, people!! Don’t get caught in the first one. 7€ for schiacciata, choose a flavor. Yum! Take it back to your place and fix it up for a nice lunch.

Osteria Santo Spirito is a charming Italian restaurant located in the lively piazza of the Santo Spirito church. The rustic space with red walls and a terrace offers a cozy setting for enjoying home-style Tuscan meals at reasonable prices. This spot is perfect for savoring quality pasta dishes and indulging in delicious specials while sipping on a glass of wine. Despite its local feel, the English-speaking staff ensures that guests feel welcome and well-informed about the menu offerings.
It was very good, very goo prices, nice staff and good food. We didn’t had a reservation, we started waiting at like 19.20 and to sit outside we waited a little bit, but everyone in the line to sit inside went in so. If you want to sit outside reservation is recommended. The lasagna was very good, in general the portions as we could see are very big. The steak we took it rare and it was very good. The crostini was also very good. In general all the food we took and we saw other people take was great.

You absolutely need to book ! They say 35 minutes wait, more like 1h30. HOWEVER the meal was absolutely wonderful, lasagna was the best I ever had, truffle gniocchi was great would advise the small one as nobody finishes the dish. The steak was divine and the service was impeccable. Please try this restaurant worth the wait. But book a table

The best pasta I’ve ever had ❤️ We only waited about 10 minutes for a table, and honestly, even if it had been longer, it would have been totally worth it! Our waiter Chiara was super sweet and attentive, always with a smile even though they were super busy. Grazie for an amazing cozy and very Italian experience. We got the Gnocchi and the spaghetti with fresh cherry tomatoes and basil ❤️💚 everything so fresh and delicious, you will need the bread to clean the plate. Definitely recommend

This is a lovely place where you can have very nice time enjoying delicious local food. We didn't have a reservation, and after waiting 30 minutes in line, we had a wonderful dinner. Everything was delicious, but the baked gnocchi with truffle oil and cheese was outstanding. I must also mention the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. Much love to them!
Deniz M — Google review
This place lives up to the hype! We ordered the spaghetti, which had thicker than usual homemade noodles that were deliciously al dente. The gnocchi is the standout dish, highly recommend. They also have a sample platter appetizer- it’s mostly meats, as an FYI to the vegetarians out there. I was able to get a reservation a few days ahead of time by messaging the restaurant on WhatsApp. Even with a reservation we still had to queue up for a table about 15 minutes before they opened. This is worth doing if you want a good spot on the terrace I think
Caleb Y — Google review
What a great team. First off, we were half hour late getting there due to me having to use rollator on Florence cobblestones lol. The young man who we dealt with, was gracious enough to let us in anyway and they had a line around the corner of people waiting to get in. Can’t tell you what that type of hospitality meant to us. They were packed and it seemed to be a team of 4 waiters just working a full tilt and doing a great job of it. No host, no busboy, just 4 people working their butts off and doing it extremely well. Whomever hired these kids was on point. The young lady who served us was very nice and didn’t miss a beat with all the tables she was taking care of. The bruschetta and the ham appetizer I can’t remember the name of were great. The gnocchi dish was absolutely fantastic as was the Florentine steak. Capped it off with tiramisu and espresso and they sent a couple of excellent Limoncello shots to end a perfect evening. As someone who was in restaurants for over 40 years, just watching this team in action was a joy to behold not to mention the excellent food at extremely reasonable prices. Highly recommend you go there, but make a reservation and be on time unlike me 😀
George G — Google review
Food was very delicious! Steak was very rare and took a while to bring out but still very good! There was a huge line at opening but we were about to get in, plan to get there like 10 minutes before it opens or reserve.
Victor A — Google review
Just stepped out of the restaurant… still thinking about those sizzling truffle gnocchi, pure perfection. The tagliatelle with ragù were just as impressive, fresh and full of flavor. Both desserts hit the mark too: the tiramisu was rich and balanced, while the crème brûlée had that perfect crackly top and creamy center. Honestly, every dish was a hit. Plus Erika was the best!

Brac is a hidden gem in Florence, located on a small street near the Arno River. It's not just a restaurant but also a bookshop, cafe, and art space. The menu features quality vegan and vegetarian dishes made with fresh, organic, and seasonal ingredients. The offerings include seasonal pastas, lasagna variations, salads, and flavorful vegan options like homemade seitan infused with cumin, cloves, coriander, and kombu seaweed.
A delicious vegan Dinner… YES PLEASE! Everything was amazing and everything was very flavorful. Our group ordered the Seitan, Tempeh, Pasta and Tortellini. All very unique dishes and very yummy. Grabbed dessert (chocolate muffins: apricot & strawberry) when we went to pay the bill. Went back to eat lunch the following day but were told the kitchen is closed.

I love Brac! It is such a cute, relatively tucked away bookstore and cafe spot in Florence. They have great coffee and food options! I got a chocolate apricot cake the first time I went and it was very good. Additionally, there is a lot of seating inside which makes it a really nice place to sit and read or chat with a friend. There is also a little outdoor area with records you can look through. I highly recommend!

Awesome food. Came in a little late around 15:00 and the kitchen was closed but they asked me if I really wanted some veggie pasta. They made the most awesome fresh pasta I had in Florence !!. Also there was a birthday the same day and they so they also offered me a free slice of chocolate and apricot cake and that too was super delicious. The staff the food and the vibe of the place just made day :)

This restaurant is a true hidden gem! The atmosphere is unique – surrounded by books, wine shelves, and beautiful decorations that make the dining area feel both cozy and elegant. The garden outside adds even more charm, making it a perfect spot for lunch. 📚🍷🌿 The food was outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, with delicious vegetarian options that really impressed us. 🥗 What made the experience so memorable was the kindness of the staff: although lunchtime was officially over, they still welcomed us with such warmth and served us as if nothing was too much trouble. Since we were the last guests, it almost felt like a private dining experience – something we’ll always remember. 💫 A wonderful combination of atmosphere, hospitality, and excellent food – definitely a highlight of our trip! ❤️

Marvellous food! I’ve visited seven years ago and it’s still as good as I remember. Out of the box and delicious food, yet earthy and without frills. I like that you can combine strong contrasting flavours on one plate. I also enjoyed the wine. The only thing that didn’t convince me was the cake I had, it simply lacked flavour. With more vegan dessert options (tiramisu, mousse or panna cotta), this place could be up there with my favourites. The atmosphere in the dining area is intimate and cosy. The front of the restaurant/café is embedded in a beautiful bookstore. I hope they stick around for longer!

Tried a couple of times to get in here and couldn't, so if you're passing by- do go in and book. We finally got in for a late lunch, and were so glad we did. We both had the primo unico- which is a plate of their salad, primo and secondi courses together. The salads were really tasty, especially the apple, cabbage and pomegranate one. The pastas too were superb, and especially the linguine were outstanding- this dish was so layered in spices and herbs it was really incredible. The star of it all may have been the seitan masala though- a brilliant, creamy sauce and really tasty seitan. The majority of the Al a carte menu is vegan, which only a couple of options that are veggie, so id highly highly recommend this place. It's a great place to sit in too. And lovely wine.

The food was delicious and the staff were so nice! We were one vegan, one vegetarian, and one carnivore. We all had a wonderful time The three-dish plates were 20€ each, with regular dishes being about 12-14€. Cake was 6€ and we shared it. We each got a glass of delicious wine for 7-8€ The products they use are very fresh, and the cooks were having so much fun in the kitchen. The whole experience was very enjoyable and we will definitely return there before leaving the city!

Food was really tasty, we had the pasta of the day and the masala seitan, the passion fruit coconut and peach cake was incredible too. Staff was super friendly and accommodating considering we didn't have a reservation. The only thing I would say is the portions are a little small and left feeling a little hungry. Would come again though!

Gluten-free restaurant
Restaurant
Ristorante Quinoa, established in 2014, holds the distinction of being Florence's first gluten-free restaurant. The entire menu is gluten-free, and diners are treated to delicious fresh gluten-free bread at the start of their meal. The restaurant is situated in a former 16th Century cloister with a charming outdoor courtyard adorned with greenery and statues. Located near the Santa Maria Maggiore Cathedral, this eatery offers exclusively gluten-free cuisine.
This is definitely a hidden gem in Florence! If you like healthy gluten-free but super tasty, this is your place. Both me and my wife were so happy to find it! And the people were awesome!

Fantastic! It's not a chain. They literally have everything gluten free. Its amazing:) We ordered four different kinds of risotto and a tartar to share for the table and even the bread and the beer was gluten free and super tasty!!!

This place is a hidden gem and I am glad we paid a visit. They are 100% GF and so no worries Celiacs!! We started off with some Apertivo and then had the grilled octopus salad which was fantastic! We then got Fried Seafood(Large) and the Pad Thai. They were also very good!. The fried seafood is alot and probably could had half of it! Again we did not leave room for dessert but throughly enjoyed this place!!
Dyron P — Google review
We were excited to eat at a 100% GF restaurant since 3 of us have Celiac. Our food was great but when we got the dessert menu, my father pointed to the cheesecake and asked if it was GF to confirm, and the waiter said “no.” We then panicked a bit and wondered if the bread and our dinners were GF. I believe they were, and perhaps the waiter misunderstood the question. Still, it was worrisome. If not for the lack of clarity in the food being 100% GF, I would give 5 stars.
Melissa S — Google review
Amazing food with great service in a really cute restaurant. The staff were very receptive and understanding of allergies, and this is specifically advertised as a gluten free restaurant. I’m not gluten free, but my friend is. I would never have been able to tell that the food was gluten free! The flavor and texture was amazing. We shared some appetizers, I had the asparagus risotto, and a chocolate torte for dessert, and it was all superb.

How can I possibly describe this lovely restaurant? Quinoa is a beautiful space, both indoors and out, with a 100% gluten-free menu that is simply outstanding. Every dish looked delicious, but during our two visits we had the Medaglioni di quinoa e verdure, the seafood pasta, the Pad Thai with prawns, and a wonderful Sicilian white wine. Thanks to the kind and attentive staff—with a special thanks to Conti for the thoughtful explanations—we enjoyed two absolutely satisfying meals. If we ever return to Florence, this will be one of the first places we revisit.

Ristorante Trattoria da Burde is a traditional Tuscan tavern that has been serving authentic Tuscan cuisine since 1901. This rustic venue offers a variety of dishes, including Florentine steak and stuffed pastas, accompanied by an extensive selection of over 500 labels of Tuscan wines and champagnes. The restaurant is known for its family-owned ambiance and commitment to preserving the heritage of Tuscan food.
Traditional old trattoria we had some fresh pasta and cold cut to start. We also try the chicken liver. The food is simple and good. I recommend more this kind of place that the tourist trap in the center.

Trattoria da Burde is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the journey. Located in the outskirts of Florence, this place is where locals go for a hearty, traditional meal. The atmosphere is simple and warm – no frills, just good food and good people. I ordered the pappa al pomodoro and the bollito misto, a variety of boiled meats served with sauces. Everything was rustic and deeply satisfying. The ingredients were clearly top-notch, and the kitchen doesn’t cut corners. The staff were welcoming and happy to walk us through the menu. We felt like guests in someone’s home. Prices were fantastic – around €30 per person for a full meal with wine. It’s a great spot if you want to explore beyond the city center and experience a slower pace. There's a sense of culinary history here, and you can tell the recipes have been passed down through generations. If you love traditional food done right, this is a must-visit. Definitely one of the most memorable meals we had in Florence.

Excellent lunch spot or perfect for a nice date night. Charmingly authentic little local spot! The Fiorentina Bistecca was wonderful. I and my friend had the Pici Pesto and Pici Aglione. So good. The bar is in front. Prompt and delightful service.

I’m definitely coming back. Delicious food, service was great. I didn’t feel rushed to order, eat or leave. The filetto was unbelievably tender. It does come with some fat and nerves, but honestly, you don’t want to overwork such high quality meat. Cold cuts and cheese were amazing. Wine by the glass was also insanely good. My only regret was not having someone to share a bistecca fiorentina with. I saw a few reviews complaining about the food or service. I’m not trying to make excuses or say they’re wrong, maybe it was just a busy day or something. My experience was excellent.
Dida B — Google review
Overall great. Original atmosphere. A place for locals. The Fiorentina was nicely done. House wine very drinkable. However, the service was unwelcoming and raw at first. The place was 2/3 empty for a very late lunch; we had a reservation, but got by far the worst table, half into a passage towards the kitchen, because the rest was obviously already prepared for the next day. The annoying Germans we can be 😎, we forced our way towards a better table. (Just insist!) In the end, our waiter even warmed up a bit, after we ordered one dessert after the other.
Christian P — Google review
Our final dinner in Florence was at @trattoriadaburde for Bisteca Florentine. We were excited to try this Florentine dish as we are all steak lovers. My suggestion if you don’t like very rare or blue steaks is not to have this. Thankfully I like it like this but for others in our group it was borderline edible at this doneness. The food was good and the sides of potatoes and seasonal veg were very good. This restaurant is a bit further out and the English speaking ability is much less. We had a lot of trouble communicating. In the end Ryan spoke some Spanish which she understood a little of, and we used google translate. We managed to get everything delivered that we asked for. The restaurant is beautiful and very large which means service can be slow. If you are heading out here for dinner be warned that it’s very hard to get a taxi afterwards. We were on a tight time limit as we were departing Florence late that night, so I would definitely come and try this again with someone who speaks Italian and without any time constraints.

Ginos Bakery, located on Via de Guicciardini, is a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike. The bakery offers a variety of traditional Italian breads and pastries that are sure to satisfy any craving. One of their must-try items is the potato pizza, made with thin slices of potatoes baked with an alfredo-like sauce on a thick bread crust. This unique creation has become a favorite among regulars, who often find themselves returning to indulge in its delicious flavors.
Gino’s Bakery is an absolute gem in Florence! If you're in the city, you must try their cannoli. We had the pistachio and hazelnut flavors, and both were incredible. Honestly, the best cannoli I’ve ever had! And we also tried Almond Cantuccini too which was so soft and flavourful. We arrived a few minutes after closing, but I called ahead and explained we were tourists leaving the next day. The guy was so kind, they waited for us, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. Outstanding service and unforgettable flavors. Don’t miss this place when you’re in Florence!

The shells of the Chou pastries were very hard and it almost seemed like it was left out for a long time. Do not get pistachio anything because it does not taste good. One some of the pastries tasted like it had a lot of coconut extract in it and it over powered the almond flavor. I ordered a total of 5 different pastries and none of them tasted 100% good. David, the renowned Renaissance-era marble sculpture by Michelangelo, is a masterpiece that depicts the biblical character David. The statue is celebrated for its exceptional detail and accuracy in portraying the human form. While the original can be found at the Galleria dell'Accademia, a replica stands at the entrance of Palazzo Vecchio. Visitors to Florence can also admire other impressive works by Michelangelo inside the gallery.
I absolutely loved this! Seeing Michelangelo’s David in person is an unforgettable experience. The statue is so massive, detailed, and beautiful in person. I could have stood there looking at it for hours. Photos don’t do it justice. The level of work that Michelangelo put into it is just incredible. Heads up, get skip the line tickets on Get Your Guide or Viator. Even with a tour booked directly through the museum’s website with a time slot, there was still a long line. And the line for people without tickets didn’t move a bit the whole 30 minutes I stood there, that I gave up and went and booked a skip the line ticket because the line is directly in the sun and it was giving me and many others sun stroke. If you have skip the line tickets, you go right in, just a quick stop at the security scanner and you’re inside. Totally worth it to avoid the long wait. The museum itself is kinda small but, the atmosphere really lets you appreciate the art. The gift shop is also nice and has a good selection of souvenirs. Definitely a must see in Florence

You can hear about something for decades, see hundreds of images about it, but only in person can it truly be appreciated. I’ll be honest the wait is long and the crowds are large. But it is worth it. Because you go In and see sculpture that is a once in a lifetime experience. I bought in advance priority tickets and didn’t explain to wait in a group section. But in all cases you MUST buy the tickets in advance. Otherwise you can’t easily get in.

สวย! The Galleria dell'Accademia is an essential stop in Florence! The entire visit revolves around one magnificent sculpture: Michelangelo's David. It is truly spectacular, grand, and unequivocally one of the greatest masterpieces of the Renaissance, if not the century! Seeing this iconic work in person is absolutely breathtaking and a moment you won't forget. Book your tickets well in advance!
Thanatorn P — Google review
My sceptical review goes only for the management of the museum. 32€ just ot go inside with bunch of people, imposible to get a proper seeng of the sculptures. And apart from that with the reservation ticket you need to wait around 35 min. To get in. The guys who waited in line with no ticket waited for 2,5 hours and paid 32€ just to stay inside for 1 hour. I don’t see it reasonable to pay so much for such a poor management. Regarding the piece of art, magnificent. It was an absolute pleasure to see with your own eyes the biggest creation Michelangelo.
Stas P — Google review
Even better in real life. Would recommend thinking twice before going just because of the price and the fact that the gallery is not too big. Very nice instrument exhibits
Masha N — Google review
This is a great museum: it contains artwork, statues, and of course, Michaelangelo's David. This is the focal point of the museum; however, the other exhibits round the experience out nicely. I would highly recommend to anyone stopping in Firenze.
Matt W — Google review
Terrible experience with the staff, very rude to visitors. It was extremely crowded and honestly not worth the money! I don’t recommend it – there’s nowhere to leave your backpack or bag, and the massive crowds make it impossible to focus on the artworks. You’re basically just trying to look around while being pushed forward. Definitely not a deep artistic experience. And, of course, there was a long line for the toilets – the facilities are not prepared for such a huge number of people. But the amount of great art works are incredible!

Camping cabin
hu Firenze Camping in Town is a popular campsite that offers a friendly atmosphere, a swimming pool, bar, and bicycle rentals. It's an ideal starting point for exploring the artistic treasures of Florence while enjoying an outdoor holiday. The cabins are well-equipped and comfortable, with amenities like a kitchenette and TV. The on-site market provides convenience for dining options. The campsite features multiple pools with ample sunbathing space and snack bars. However, parking can be challenging during peak times.
had a wonderful experience at this camp! The houses were extremely clean and well-maintained, and the swimming pool was spotless and very inviting. The natural surroundings are absolutely beautiful – it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the fresh air. One of the best features is the shuttle bus service inside the camp, which makes it super easy to get to the heart of Florence without any hassle. The camp is very quiet and peaceful, perfect for meditation or simply unwinding. There’s also a nice playground for children, so it’s great for families and suitable for all ages. I loved being able to rent a bike and explore the area at my own pace. The restaurant serves delicious, high-quality Italian food all day, and the supermarket has everything you might need. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again!

The complex is nice and very well kept. It feels like a little town of it’s own, with a grocery store, an upscale restaurant and laundry facility on site. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful; we could not say nicer things about them. The rooms were sparkly clean and beautiful, with everything we needed. The info point was great and they always helped us when we needed it. Location: Even though it’s not in the city center, there is a bus stop right outside of the camp. Bus 14 takes you to Florence and brings you right back. There is a stop for bus 14 in front of the train station so you wouldn’t need a taxi to ride. The downsides: we were placed in a cabin far from the front. It was quite the hike from the entrance of the place and very cumbersome while hauling luggage and little kids around. On our first day it started to pour rain as we walked and tried to find our cabin. A lot of the stuff in our backpacked got soaked and wet and after a super long day of traveling, it felt like we had chosen the wrong place to stay. They should have golf cart shuttles around the complex to help guests a little.

I appreciate that this campsite isn't cheap but the access to Florence is great…the bus is super easy and cheap at less than a euro each way. Our pitch was a bit scrappy but the bathrooms are lovely and kept very clean. The supermarket is well stocked. Pool area and restaurant looked great but we didnt use either. Staff were friendly but it’s a huge site with loads of different types of accommodation so it wont be for everyone.

We stayed at this campsite for three nights in September 2025. This modern campsite offers everything you need for a stay near Florence. The reception is extremely professional, the shop offers a wide range of items at fair prices for a campsite, and the pool area is sublime. The men's section of one of the two sanitary blocks (the rear one) was regularly quite dirty. However, this is really not the fault of the staff. I saw the cleaning staff cleaning the area several times. It is a shame that some inconsiderate campers feel the need to behave inappropriately when they do not have to clean up after themselves. Please show some respect for the cleaning staff.

I stayed for 3 nights at HU Firenze Camping in Town and had an amazing experience! I booked a chalet, and everything exceeded my expectations. The place is incredibly beautiful, peaceful, and very well-maintained. What I loved the most was the people – from the security staff to the reception and info point team – everyone was respectful, professional, and extremely helpful. You can really tell they love what they do and care about every guest. We also had a couple of meals at the on-site restaurant – tasty and convenient after a long day. I would like to give a very special thanks to Mimmo for his outstanding professionalism and warm hospitality. He was truly one of the most energetic and welcoming people we met. Always smiling, always checking if we or the kids needed anything, and making everything easier for us. Mimmo was like the heartbeat of the place – full of life and positive energy. Thank you so much for making our stay even more special!

We stayed for 3 nights in hu stay easy XL room. It would be a pretty nice camping site to explore Firenze suburbs and Arno river valley by hiking or biking, if only some improvements could be done at the first place. For those who don't come with car, keep in mind that the access to the Florence City Center could be tricky and inconvenient. There is only one bus line running (No. 14) that constantly overcrowded, occasionally cancelled, and often not air conditioned. Alternatively there is Rovezzano Train Station within 1 km walking distance, but the train to Santa Maria Novella is not that frequent. There is a bike rental station in the site and nice biking track next to the Arno river (see images). However the potential of the area is let down by the campsite service & hospitality itself. Here are some things that have to be improved: - The cleanliness of the room is a big miss (or mess), during our stay we had so many ants on the ceiling and lamp, they constantly fall over to the bed. We asked the Receptionist to clean the room from ants and bugs on our first day of staying, however nothing was done! **I read people mentioning the same issue in the previous Google Review, it is a pity that the problem never been solved. - Keep in mind that the site is build on a wetland next to a river, expect some ants/bugs to enter the room. Hence, the housekeeping has to be improved, i.e. the room should be cleaned everyday! -The room is a bit cramped. - Houserules should be strengthen, somebody honked the car in front of our Chalet two times at 22:30! - For the given price, at least basic spices such as salt, sugar, pepper, and cooking oil can be provided in kitchen. Tea and coffee in the room would be nice too. - The saddle of the rent bike is too hard and not convenience to be used for a long ride. Please provide some soft saddle cushion.

We stayed for 2 nights in mid-October. A quite brilliant location for visiting Florence. A well stocked and excellent market. The pool was open too which we thought was great. Very helpful and enthusiastic reception staff. We took the bus number 14 straight to the centre of Florence. We booked a ‘free walking tour’ and our guide was Armando, so tour is ‘free’ but you can contribute at the end. He was quite brilliant, we had a fabulous afternoon. The Hu site overall was great, I would give 4.5 overall. Bathrooms were clean and hot water plentiful for showers. Segregated recycling which we appreciated. The only negative was our pitch. We were on a corner on the main drag and it was super noisy with roller suitcases clacking along till all hours on the cobbles and then early morning. If we were to go again we would ask for a pitch well away from ‘main avenue’. We had hook up and water. It is an expensive site but so handy for the gorgeous Florence.
Allison H — Google review
Nice resort, friendly staff, good price. However, the bus route to and from camp gets very crowded and the official timetables are completely useless. We battled mosquitos in our tent even though all doors and windows were kept closed. An awful smell would not stop wafting from our bathroom and into the bedroom. Despite all this, we enjoyed our stay given price, facilities, and location.

The Grand Hotel Adriatico is a stylish hotel situated in the heart of Florence, just a short distance from the Santa Maria Novella train station and within walking distance of the iconic Duomo. The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast, along with convenient amenities such as on-site parking. Guests can enjoy dining at the restaurant's terrace or unwind at the bar. The clean and comfortable rooms provide a pleasant retreat after exploring nearby attractions, while friendly staff members ensure a welcoming atmosphere throughout the stay.
The most convenient and gorgeous hotel ever, if you’re visiting Florence don’t waste your time looking for another place to stay, because this is your best option specially if you’re arriving via train, this hotel it’s a seven minute walk away from the train station, and a great center point to visit anywhere in Florence, there are great food options around, but their own restaurant it’s fantastic. The rooms are extremely clean, super spacious and the AC sure cooled us down when we would arrive back into our room. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Honestly worth every penny you pay to stay here.

We stayed at Grand Hotel Adriatico in early July with another couple and found the hotel to be very conveniently located next to the river and options for food and shopping. During check-in the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing suggestions for local favorites and a map to get our bearings. Aside from transfers to and from the airport. We were able to walk to every single activity or interest in Florence from this location. The rooms are smaller but clean and fully functional. We were provided complimentary waters and there was a menu where you could request a pillow that fits your sleep style along with a room service menu. Our stay included breakfast access which was a buffet style (hot and cold options) and we found the food quality to be excellent with friendly waitstaff ready to bring you a cappuccino or other coffee drinks. One of the things I appreciated most about this hotel was that they allowed us to bring our own bottle of wine in that we picked up locally to enjoy on the patio. We were even offered wine glasses and a bottle opener from the bar. Every other hotel we stayed at strictly denied us the ability to do this and we were very grateful for the hospitality provided at this Hotel. If you want easy access to main roads or to be within walking distance of many major attractions or the train station, this place is an excellent choice. We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Adriatico! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to help. Everyone we interacted with—from the front desk to housekeeping—made us feel welcomed and cared for. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout our stay. Housekeeping went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect each day. One of the touches we appreciated most was the thoughtfulness of the staff on our last morning—they prepared a breakfast box for us since we had to check out very early at 6:30 AM. It was such a considerate gesture and really showed the level of care this hotel provides. The location is also excellent, making it easy to explore Florence while still enjoying a quiet and relaxing atmosphere when returning to the hotel. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you to the entire team for making our trip memorable—we would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Grand Hotel Adriatico to anyone visiting Florence! We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Adriatico! I really like this hotel and stayed here a few times now. The location is perfect, there is a good restaurant in the hotel and another good one just across the street. Rooms have a decent size and it is pretty quiet. The only small minus point is that one has to book an appointment for the gym. But otherwise everything was fantastic as always.

We stayed at this Hotel in August 2025. Great location with lots of options for food and sightseeing. Friendly staff, professional and detail-oriented. Excellent parking, great options at breakfast, laundromat next door. Will definitely stay again in our next visit to Florence.

Poor experience overall, TVs cannot be connected to your devices so you will be forced to watch one of 8 English channels (7 of which are news) Wood rot on doors, trip hazards in the shower due to poor drainage installation, Uncomfortably hard beds, loose fixtures in bathroom, spam marketing emails after connecting to their wifi Clearly needs to spend money repairing the building Breakfast was horrid and gave myself and parter food poisoning. Coffee was good. Overall not a great experience and definitely would not come back.

Great spot, really enjoying my room with the Balcony. Room has everything you need, and is updated. Love the location a couple of blocks from the river and quick walk to all the sites. Just close enough for convenience, but far enough to be quite. They also communicate well and let you know of special things like live music and tastings at the hotel

Palazzo Castri 1874 is a chic hotel with stylish rooms, a posh spa, and a cafe. The unique courtyard garden and views of Brunelleschis dome create a sense of well-being for guests. Despite its location on piazza dell'Indipendenza, the hotel's personality compensates for it. Situated in the heart of Florence, this hotel offers easy access to landmarks like Galleria dell'Accademia and Basilica of Santa Maria Novella.
We had a wonderful stay at Palazzo Castri 1874. The location was perfect. It was just a pleasant 10–15 minute walk to the city centre, making it easy to explore Florence while enjoying a peaceful retreat away from the busiest streets. The hotel itself feels modern yet serene, with a relaxing atmosphere throughout. Our room was stylish, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The staff were consistently welcoming, attentive, and very helpful with recommendations. We enjoyed making use of the spa facilities, which were excellent. Breakfast each morning offered a nice variety of options, and the garden was a beautiful, tranquil spot to unwind after sightseeing. Highly recommended!

Thank you to all the staff - consistently friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights for our anniversary. The room had all the amenities you could need in a hotel room (fridge, safe, steam iron, toiletries, AC, TV, etc.). The staff were very welcoming and made us feel special. They recognized us every day, knew our room number when we’d order food or drinks, and were always happy to chat. On top of all this, they gave us two glasses of Prosecco to help us celebrate our anniversary, which was such a nice touch. The hotel provided breakfast every morning, which was a nice way to start each day. The outside courtyard and pool is beautiful and felt like a vacation in itself. There is a restaurant and a bar on site, which is nice for those moments when you don’t want to leave the hotel. If I could rate this hotel higher, I would. I would absolutely stay here again, and recommend to anyone that wants a nice, centralized location to stay for their Florence vacation.

We stopped at this hotel just for dinner and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The service was attentive from the start, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. The food was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even though we weren’t staying overnight, the atmosphere was so comfortable. A place definitely worth recommending.

The friendly staff was very accommodating in our short 1 night stay. We did not have enough time to use the spa and pool amenities but the woman at the front desk was very helpful in mapping out the areas to walk to and letting us know what areas of Florence to avoid. It features a Special Protection Program for the safety of guests and staff. Conveniently located near the A11 motorway and just 1.7 km from Florence Peretola Airport, it offers rooms with individual air conditioning and private bathrooms. While check-in is seamless, some guests have noted issues with air conditioning in their rooms.
We wanted to be near airport due to flights being extra late arriving and extra early for leaving. The reception is open 24/7 kind staff and always made sure we had anything we needed. We had an infant with us and the staff always welcomed us with smiles and kindness. Highly recommend this place to stay, tram isn't far and near by park is nice. We also saw a place which did soft play 25min walk which was 5 Euro 1hr play. Lovely food in hotel and restaurants near by. Also Taxi was useful with little one. From Airport taxi is good as tram wasn't working .

Stayed here for two nights. Warm welcome at the check in late at night by Alessio, the room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately the door to the balcony in room 701 is not fully closed so the street noise is quite present in the room. For an Italian hotel, the breakfast offers plenty of protein options (scrambled eggs, sausage, boiled eggs, cold cuts). Check out by Nicholas was also very professional, efficient and friendly. I have my doubts regarding staff planning in this hotel as this young man was on duty both the evening before as well as the subsequent morning. As the hotel manager is surely reading this, beware of the next BW audit. All in all, good value for money and strategic location between city centre and airport.
Hrlgg — Google review
While the hotel staff were courteous and helpful—offering early check-in and breakfast bags for our early flight—the overall experience fell short. Its proximity to the airport is convenient, but that’s where the positives mostly end. The elevator is very small, making it difficult for more than one person with luggage to use comfortably. The surrounding area felt somewhat unsafe. In the room, the laminate flooring had noticeable gaps, and while the furniture looked relatively modern, cleanliness was a major issue. There was visible mold, a significant amount of dust, and the bathtub didn’t drain properly, making showers unpleasant. Noise insulation was poor, and outside sounds were constant. For the price, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Hotel was pretty close to airport and not far from historic firenze. Staff was amazing and breakfast was awesome. The only thing I would say is the hotel could use an update and a small odor from the throughout hotel. Parking was limited but free and that’s hard to get in this location. The only recommendation I would make is the hotel could use a major renovation rooms are ok but bathrooms definitely need to be renovated they are over 15 years old. Otherwise I would say it’s a 3 star hotel not good not bad but if they want to say they are a 4 star best western plus they need a major interior renovation.

We arrived at the best Western hotel near the Florence airport after a three week trip through four countries in Europe. One of our suitcases had broken and one of our family had injured herself that morning. Janet, the receptionist, spoke very good. English and was the best ever. She directed me to find a new suitcase, next-door, disposed of the broken one and directed me to a pharmacy down the street. Our room ready immediately.. Clean, air conditioning, good elevator, great service.

My husband and I booked this stay for 2 nights and left after 1. What we walked into was not at all what we were expecting after looking at the pictures. Very small spaces. Room, elevator, parking, etc. We mainly left bc of THE SMELL. It was unbearable. The smell of the pipes through the walls, the plumbing being used from the room above you, made your entire bathroom and room smell horrible. I had to keep the bathroom door shut. When we checked out early the reception didn’t ask why. She asked for the manager’s assistance to help us check out early and he also didn’t bother to ask, which seemed super odd to both my husband and I. Also, not a great location if you’re trying to explore near the city for tourism! We thought we would be close enough but we were further than expected.

(Thief pictured) My family and multiple other patrons of this hotel were robbed of our jewelry today by the maids. They came in when our room when they thought it was empty and rummaged through our luggage to steal our precious possessions. A lady across the hall had all her gold stolen from her room while she was away sightseeing. Management refused to call the police and hardly seemed to show any sense of urgency or concern.

Overall, I just crashed her for a night so I could return my car rental the next day. If that’s all you need then it is suitable for that. The room was fairly basic for the price. Although the staff was nice, it does seem like this hotel needs some upgrades and renovations. For starters, my shower didn’t even work… see video. The hotel isn’t near anything interesting. I’d only recommend staying for airport or car rental access. Breakfast was alright. Had a few options, enough to get a meal

This was a fantastic hotel for our stay in Florence! The rooms are absolutely amazing and the location is perfect. Close to the center of the city but not too much so that it’s loud. They have ice cold water in the lobby, which is a blessing in Italy in the summer, and their patio garden is beautiful. They also were so sweet and surprised us with a bottle of champagne and cookies for our honeymoon! I definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed as part of a group. The room we received was the SMALLEST room of the group. We were told that since it is a old building that has been converted into a Hotel that all the rooms were different. They offered us 2 other rooms that were only slightly larger. I understand the "European Standard" but the bedroom and bathroom were uncomfortably SMALL. No view. I would book elsewhere for my next trip to Florence.

Hotel reception staff was friendly and professional. Rooms were clean, AC was good, showers and restrooms were good. Bed was comfortable. 11 of us arrived after travelling from the states. There were adults and children 10 to 15. The first night we decided to eat at the hotel as we were tired, hungry and did not want to travel far. The hotel restaurant was excellent. They made accommodations for all of us and made several recommendations regarding the foods. Everyone got something different and we shared family style. Everything was perfect. Each meal was prepared to perfection. The food came out all at once (for a large party very impressive) all hot and delicious. The suggestions from the staff was enough fill everyone and also leave room for some delicious desserts. The head waiter (I think Francesco?) was remarkable. He was like a conductor in an orchestra. It was one of the best experiences we had during our stay.

I would stay here again, and we had a lovely time, but there is definitely a little room for improvement. The staff were wonderful and super helpful, and Amalia at the bar was so nice and wonderful. It was loud inside the hotel in the morning. A lot of banging around. Not sure what was happening but that went on every morning we were there. We were getting up anyways, but one morning was loud enough that we both thought the elevator was being worked on 😂 The shower in the bathroom is very narrow, and the door covers less than half of the tub. It’s a little chilly for us Americans. We did get a massage and I would not recommend it. It was fine, but there are better uses of time and money. The breakfast is good enough to get you going in the morning! Perfect for what you need when all the other meals are so big and heavy. The location is awesome and we had a pretty easy time getting our bearings and walking everywhere. There are restaurants right outside the door, and the statue of David is about a 12-15 minutes walk. couldn’t be a more convenient location. The train station is less than a 10 minute walk. We walked to the hotel and back to the station - no cab needed. No stairs and no hills. Would stay again and we had a great time.

We stayed here in August to celebrate my 50th birthday with my two kids, niece and nephews. The room was nice and the staff was extremely helpful. We really enjoyed the international buffet breakfast here. It was within walking distance to the Santa Maria church and the Duomo. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms and loved the fact that they had usb charging ports in the outlets which didn't require a converter. That definitely was a plus. I would definitely stay here again. Oh and it was very close to the train station which was a huge plus because you didn't need to pay for an expensive uber or cab ride. Only downside was the elevator was extremely small. Could only fit about 4 people and if yo had luggage you had to go up or down one at a time.

Excellent experience on the hotel and spa side. The hotel itself has excellent staff who are hospitality minded and anticipate your needs. The dinner staff in the restaurant is the best there is. Your breakfast experience will vary from that. The staff is different.
Matt S — Google review
I have never been treated so rudely at a hotel. Several members of the front desk staff were incredibly disrespectful — not just to me, but to anyone whose first language wasn’t Italian. They make you feel stupid for asking basic questions. I witnessed them repeatedly ending poor explanations with a sarcastic “if you don’t understand” and a shrug, showing no real intention to help. That is not hospitality — especially not in a boutique hotel that prides itself on recognition and awards. It’s truly a shame, because the hotel itself is beautiful, but the service seriously detracts from the experience. I understand they deal with many tourists, but that should be even more reason to show empathy and kindness, not irritation. As a traveler, I was simply looking for guidance and a bit of courtesy — not to be made to feel small for needing help.

Exceptional Stay at Hotel Spadai – A Gem in Florence! We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Spadai and couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, the concierge team were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely lovely—always ready to assist with a smile and great local tips. The breakfast team were absolutely on point, managing everything with efficiency and warmth. The breakfast spread was superb, with an amazing selection that catered to all tastes—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. In the evenings, the happy hour barman truly stood out—professional, personable, and made excellent drinks. It was a perfect way to wind down after a day exploring Florence. Our room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable, making it feel like a home away from home. Overall, Hotel Spadai exceeded our expectations. We felt genuinely cared for by the entire team. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Florence—we’ll definitely be back!

It’s a bit far from the train station, but the location is amazing! You can walk to the Duomo in just a few minutes. ⛪️✨ The staff are super friendly and very attentive. The minibar is included in the price, so it was great to relax with some water or a drink after coming back to the hotel. 🍷💧 The breakfast also had a wide variety of options and was really enjoyable! 🥐☕️

The location was perfect. We were able to walk just about everywhere with only a 15 minute walk maximum. The rooms were quite even with all the action going on outside. I cannot say enough good things about the people who work at this hotel. Every single person was kind and SO helpful. Everything from helping me book a reservation, in room massage and helping me with my lost luggage. I’d recommend this place to anyone. Will certainly be back to stay here again.

Before our trip to Florence, I read countless reviews from other travelers (especially Americans) saying Hotel Spadai was incredible — and now I completely understand why! From the moment we checked in, everything felt five-star. Our room was spotless, beautifully modern, and extremely comfortable — the kind of bed and pillows you never want to leave. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing, with everything you could possibly imagine. We also loved the evening happy hour — such a nice touch after a day of sightseeing. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect, helping us arrange activities and offering wonderful recommendations. The location couldn’t have been better — just steps from the main attractions, yet peaceful and quiet at night. We’ll never stay anywhere else in Florence. Hotel Spadai made our trip unforgettable!

This was our second stay at Hotel Spadai and it will not be our last! The location is perfect! We walked everywhere! It’s right in the center of everything but still quite! Great service! Yummy breakfast! Best part was the mini bar refills and our welcome gift! This is one of the best hotels in Florence- from the hotels I saw while walking around lol!

This is our second stay at Hotel Spadai, and it’s just as wonderful as we remembered! Everything is spotless – housekeeping comes twice a day, and the Deluxe room welcomed us with fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. We also booked the private spa for 1h45 – pure relaxation with champagne, strawberries, tea, and water. Breakfast is rich, varied, and very well organized. During our first stay we met Alessandro, the former breakfast manager, whose kindness and professionalism impressed us so much that when we found out he moved to Hotel Artemide in Rome, we decided to follow him there – and that experience was also outstanding. Now that we’ve returned to Spadai, we’re happy to see the same high standards, with his replacement, Cristiano, being just as wonderful. The front desk team is extremely friendly and helpful. We travel abroad 4–5 times a year and have stayed in many great hotels, but Spadai and Artemide are the two we’ve decided to keep coming back to. A big part of why we love Florence so much is thanks to this amazing team. 💛

Upon arrival Hotel Spadai upgraded our room for our honeymoon. We walked in to a beautiful room. The mini bar is refilled daily for free which we’ve never experienced back home in the U.S. Their breakfast buffet is the best we’ve ever had. Everything is homemade and the fruit is so fresh. You can add it for an additional charge when you book your room or walk-in the morning of and have them charge it to your room. It was only 14€/person which is a steal for everything you get. Also they have a windy stairwell where you can go see a 360 degree view of the outside. The location of this hotel is perfect. You are only a 2 min walk to the Duomo.

The 3-star Hotel Le Due Fontane Florence features a warm and inviting atmosphere, with beautifully decorated quarters. It is situated near some of the city's most popular attractions, such as the art museum 'Galleria dell'Accademia' and the distinguished monument 'Basilica of Santa Maria Novella'. The hotel also offers all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.
Honestly can’t understand the negative vibe in the reviews here. The hotel is awesome to discover the city and has everything you need. The rooms are large enough with well equipped and clean bathrooms. The A/C works well but might be a bit loud on the lowest fan setting for sleeping. The breakfast is great and plentiful. The building itself is really nice and fits into the overall florence vibe really well. Connection to the airport is a 30min Tram ride away

Hotel location was great as is close (walking distance) to almost everything. We slept in the hotel for one night. Our room was clean, however we requested an extra bed prior to arrival, it was approved but when we arrived it was discovered that not arranged. Parking was a challenge, in the city center was provided by the hotel in a garage for an additional fee € 35,00 which was a bit high for us, but you can park around on any the blue zone for about € 1,00 /hr or free on the White zone if you find space. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff very nice and smiling. They talk to you, you feel welcome. So we highlight the hotel staff the most - from the from desk to the dining room - a great willingness to help in any circumstances but you need to ask due to they will not proactively give you guidelines, we got a ticket on our car for temporary parking it at from of the Hotel to load/unload our luggage, and the front desk staff said that we should have asked them to provide us a temporary sing (but how should we know about this if it was our first time visiting the city and Hotel, so remember to ask.

For us this hotel was pretty decent. We stayed in a normal room (not renovated): classical italian style. The experience will depend on your preferences: if you enjoy vintage style then it is meeting the expecations, if you enjoy a more modern room then I think you should go for the superior ones. The hotel is very close to the Florence Cathedral and also to Uffizi museum and Academia (less than 1km). The Windows isolate the noise from outside pretty well. We also had a nice experience with our car: they were taking care of it, the valet was very professional.

We stayed at Le Due Fontane hotel for two nights in July and we enjoyed our stay. Hotel very well conveniently located, staff helpful and friendly, room comfortable and well cleaned, bed comfy, good bathroom, breakfast delicious and well served by the hotel staff ( shout out at Gioacchino that assist us and kept us happy at breakfast). When we will come back to Florence we certainly come back to this hotel.

First of all - excelent location. We slept in the hotel for one night. Our room was clean, tidy, well furnished, with good Wi-Fi. Parking in the center is provided by the hotel in a garage for an additional fee, which was great because we had a car with luggage for the next trip. The breakfast is really very rich and the staff is nice and smiling. They talk to you, you feel welcome. So we highlight the hotel staff the most - from the reception, through the dining room - a great willingness to help in any circumstances and be there for the guest. We will definitely come back again when visiting Firenze.

Hotel Le Due Fontane is a charming and atmospheric place right in the heart of Florence. The location is perfect for exploring the city on foot. The staff are very friendly and always ready to help, which makes the stay even more pleasant. A cozy and authentic Florentine experience.

I don't know why in Google reviews we can't give a full 10 stars for the sheer quality and value Le Due Fontane gives to their guests. Incredibly you're only 5 minutes away from the Galleria Academia Museum that houses David. You pass the Galleria late at night and imagine him in there sleeping and preparing to meet us in the morning. Book early to have the experience me and my family have had. Amazing breakfast available!! A big shout out to David,Juaquin, Francisco, Oscar, Cinzia and all the rest of the team!!

I am really trying be fair here first generally the staff are polite and nice however you get a room that doesn’t have AC. We were two families with three rooms and this experience was for all of us. We complained about the rooms they switched my room and absolutely no difference and then I realized I lost my WiFi connection as well until I found out everyone lost their connections again we told them they politely said it’s Sunday and we can do anything it came Monday and still no WiFi but whatever since we were leaving. Additionally I along with several other guests noticed that some of the plates they stacked for breakfast have not been cleaned properly and some with literally peace of of food on them. Anyways the location is great but if you plan in advance you can find ton of hotel in the exact same area. Don’t go to this hotel if you care about AC or WiFi otherwise good luck.

The Hotel Pendini is a 3-star accommodation in the heart of Florence, Italy. It offers air conditioned rooms and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The hotel is located next to L-shaped square 'Piazza della Signoria' and overlooks Piazza della Repubblica square.
We had a great stay at Hotel Pendini for 3 nights and felt it was an unbeatable value for the price. The hotel has very traditional decor but considering the cleanliness throughout, it added to the charm instead of feeling “old”. The air conditioning made the room surprisingly cool and we did not have any issues with noise. The included breakfast was amazing and the service was great. Would absolutely stay here again!

Superb location, we were a family of five being 2 adults and 3 teenagers and stayed for two nights in the family room, had enough space for us. Breakfast was great and staff super helpful. If you need a taxi get reception to order it's very quick. The room was two bedrooms and a bathroom, one had a double bed and the other had 3 singles.

The hotel itself is historic, clean and comfortable. However we barely got any sleep due to the noise below... Live music was performed right outside our window until after 12am. I cannot believe Florence doesn't have a noise ordinance...

Beautiful hotel within walking distance of The Duomo. The staff are excellent and gave us great information of local attractions and the famous lampredotto! Breakfasts at the hotel cover every taste with an extensive buffet! Rooms were clean and spacious. The sitting areas around the hotel were beautiful and the roof terrace offers a peaceful seating area with fabulous views over the City. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here in the second week of June on my solo trip to Florence and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating to any questions that I had re’ the hotel or local places to visit! The room was quite small but had a full sized wardrobe with plenty of storage and the bathroom and bedding was clean. Breakfast was spectacular with a wide variety of options. On my final day I was due to leave prior to breakfast starting so called ahead and requested a bag to take away in the morning which they were happy to accommodate and gave me a bag with plenty of food and a water bottle. The hotel is a brisk 10/15 minute walk from the centre of the city but it nicely out of the way and feels safe to walk to.

We stayed 4 nights in early August. Made for a great main base visiting Tuscany region (Pisa, Lucca, Siena). Upon arrival by car late in the evening, we were immediately greeted by hotel staff who arranged to have our car parked in a secure garage nearby. The validation service was super convenient for our travel agenda. During our whole stay the service was excellent. Genuinely friendly staff without any pretense. Breakfast was great, especially the made to order cappuccinos. Location was excellent, within minutes of walking to the main train station and statue of David museum. 10 minute walk to the Duomo and main square. It’s a boutique hotel so don’t expect modern amenities in the room itself but the charm outweighs any shortcomings. Highly recommend for the price. Great value and will definitely try and stay here again the next time we visit Florence.

The location is great very close to the Santa Maria Novella train station and walking distance to most major sites in Florence. The rooms were clean and the staff was nice and the included breakfast was a very nice touch. The bathrooms were tiny but functional which is to be expected in old Italian hotels. Overall happy with our stay.
Leah B — Google review
This hotel is not a 4 star hotel and the photos are deceiving. The common areas look very luxe but it’s actually really old. I booked a single room and it had a single bed and I could barely fit my luggage between the bed and the wall. The shower had mould around the taps and the shower gel dispenser was empty when I got there and never refilled in my 5 night stay. I paid the most of this accommodation out of my 6 week holiday and this was the one I enjoyed the least. You can also hear all the noise from the street so it’s hard to get sleep. There was loud banging noises for multiple nights around 11pm and they said there was maintenance work being done. The staff were friendly and the reception are there 24/7. The breakfast buffet was average but they would make a fresh coffee for you. The location was okay but if I was to have my time again I would book a bit closer to the Duomo and river because there looked to be more things happening on that side. Overall it photographs well (deceivingly) but I don’t recommend it.

First trip to Italy and Florence. This hotel was recommended by my travel agent. I love how charming this hotel is. The staff are amazing! Excellent service! The room overall was nice and comfortable. Tiny shower! I mean tiny. On our last day the shower and a/c quit working. Granted the a/c wasn’t great from day one but completely stopped. They got the shower fixed but couldn’t get the a/c working so they gave us another room. As soon as we walked new there were issues too as the air wasn’t on. The cooler was giving an error code. Maintenance said the fan needed to stay on. Turns out only the fan worked. We went to dinner to see if the room would cool down, but no luck. They gave us another room with the exact same issue. But this time they gave us another fan so that made it much better. However the shower didn’t work again. But we got the hand sprayer working and just stuck with it since it was our last night. With all that said, the staff was so nice and helpful, but this hotel needs serious maintenance done to the showers and a/c throughout. Doesn’t look like management is interested in investing much to keep the hotel operating properly. I felt back for the front desk and maintenance staff. They tried their best. I still loved the location and hotel itself. If they could get all the issues fixed it’s a fantastic hotel. Love the location. Easy to walk everywhere. Close to a self service laundry too.

Full of character with lots of comfortable lounge seating in different areas on the ground floor. Showing it's age in places but an enjoyable stay. Location away from the tourist melee, but within easy walking distance, is ideal. Special thanks to Abdi, one of the porters, who found a storage place for our bikes and our delivered luggage.

Hotel Cantoria in Florence is a low-key hotel that offers casual rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi and a breakfast buffet. It's conveniently located near the Fortezza da Basso Convention Center, Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, and Mercato Centrale Market Hall. The staff is friendly, and the check-in process is smooth. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although they may be small. However, the hotel provides great value for its location and views from the terrace.
We loved our stay here. Hidden gem. Owner - Dino was very kind and gracious, and most of staff were kind and went above and beyond. There was an older bald man that did get angry with us for taking the stairs at night- which we didn’t appreciate being scolded but his attitude should not take away from how amazing the rest of the staff is. Breakfast was AMAZING. Delicious and many options. Christina was wonderful. Roof top is a nice added touch. Room was comfortable and clean. Location is prime and the best- close to major streets, coffee shops, restaurants, and train stations. If we are ever back in Florence, we will only stay here. Close to being a 4 star hotel! Thank you Dino

Lovely modern hotel within a very old building. Unfortunately there's a bad odour when you enter the lobby of the building but it isn't in the hotel or rooms. It is apparent in the stairwell. Our room was nice, comfortable bed, with street view. It was hot in Florence but opening the windows was really noisy. We asked for the AC remote and were given one. They said they don't usually offer AC until the end of June. If it's this hot in early April I imagine June will be stifling! Small breakfast in the morning. Limited selection but decent. This is close to the train station, Duomo and the leather market. Staff was friendly and helpful. All in all a nice place and would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was obscure as you had to enter through a metal door and then get into a lift to 5 th floor. Once there the reception staff were very welcoming. Room was very basic but clean. Small bathroom with a tiny shower. Could hear next room shower and flush toilet. Breakfast nice. Highlight was rooftop bar which had fabulous views across the city. Good location. A good budget hotel.

Great location. Not far from the Cathedral. A little strange finding the hotel at first. Buzz to open the gate, find the elevator and up to the 5th floor. Great restaurants right outside the door. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Updated and modern. Breakfast was good. The typical European breakfast buffet. The rooftop was a nice feature and the views were beautiful.

Hotel Cantoria is a wonderful place to stay. The location is perfect, it’s so close to everything! The breakfast is very good with many options. Marco was a huge help to us when my husband had to hospital. We needed to extend our stay but the hotel was full. Marco called around and found another hotel nearby. He also gave me a late check out which was very nice. Thank you Marco.

Aside from the convenient location, we wouldn’t recommend staying here. Our room was very small and unfortunately had a persistent smell of sewage, which seemed to be coming from the bathroom drain. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they appeared dismissive and unhelpful, attributing the issue to something outside their control. Efforts to follow up during our stay were met with unresponsiveness, as staff became difficult to reach. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience. Additionally, we were surprised to find that our initial review on Booking.com appears to have been removed.

Hotel Alba Palace is a charming hotel located near the cloisters of Florence's Santa Maria Novella Basilica. Housed in a former monastery, this elegantly renovated property features cozy rooms and suites with free breakfast and a lobby bar. The rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with modern amenities such as PlayStation2 and DVD players. The traditional decor includes renaissance prints on the walls, adding to the timeless style of the hotel. Guests can enjoy free WiFi and a peaceful courtyard within the property.
Lovely hotel with personality. I actually felt like I was back in time. Excellent location. We walked everywhere. And the train station is around the corner. So we came from Roma by train, walked to the hotel from the station. My 68 yo mother walked that distance with a carry-on, you can do it to :). Everything was clean. Had a safe inside large enough for laptop. We have one queen and one small bed. The small bed was not the most comfortable, but manageable. Air conditioning was working fine and you can control the temperature yourself from inside your room. Hot water, amenities, all there, nice. The restroom door is a sliding door, so is not like a regular door but it does the trick. I might be blind but only could find one electrical outlet. Luckily, I carry a power strip so I could charge, camera, battery, and phones, computer all at once. Breakfast was great. Also there is a free drink during happy hour. Nice. Can store bags before or after check in/out before you head out to your next destination. Very nice hotel. Recommended.

The hotel is very close to the train station, which is a big advantage if you are traveling by train. Also, they keep your luggage free of charge after check-out, which is very useful if you are leaving the city late. The hotel's breakfast was above our expectations. The cheeses and croissants were especially delicious. The rooms are clean, there is a coffee machine and a fridge. It is just a little small for a family, and the hotel needs some renovation. However, it is not a big problem for short stays. You can walk all over the city from the hotel, and there are nice restaurants around.

The staff were welcoming and very accommodating, and the check-in process was quick and easy. Parking was available at a very reasonable rate, with the garage attendant conveniently handling both drop-off and return of the car. The room was spacious, well-equipped with all necessary amenities, and the breakfast was delicious. Overall, our stay was outstanding—definitely a 10/10. This hotel is perfectly located near many of the Florence tour meeting locations and the local transit train. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful. The hotel was build in 1900. It has been modernized but remains charming and cozy. It offers a fantastic breakfast buffet including a large variety of foods, juices, fruits, and pastries. It has an elevator. We took advantage of the laundry service. We dropped off our bag of clothes for wash, dry, and fold service. The basket of clothes was placed in our room when completed.

Hotel de la Pace is an exceptional hotel! Our concierge and bartender was kind with great hospitality. The breakfast was *amazing!!* The most impressive breakfast I’ve ever found in a hotel. The bar was awesome, drinks and coffee were well made. Our room itself was beautiful, clean, with big bright windows and a comfortable bed and large bathroom. We had our laundry washed and our clothes were returned to us in great shape. The location is awesome—the Accademia Museum (Michelangelo’s David), Uffizi Museum, the cathedral (Duomo & Bapistry), and Medici Palace were all within a 10-15 minute walk from us. My husband and I have stayed in several hotels during our trip through Italy, and Hotel de la Pace was by far the best. I can’t recommend it enough!

Very cool hotel. Excellent breakfast. Nice happy hour with delicious complimentary appetizers. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. From the bartender, front desk, housekeeping and breakfast staff- they were all wonderful. Great location in the heart of all the sights. I will stay here again while in Florence. We are sad to leave!!

It was the worst part of our trip and by far the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We had requested a king-size bed but were given two single beds pushed together with separate mattresses. On top of that, the toilet door didn’t even close. The minibar only had water, and we were charged €3 per bottle, so we ended up bringing our own. There was no Nescafé, tea, or anything available for a morning drink in the room. The staff were generally rude, with the exception of one polite young woman. We also inquired about parking for hotel guests. They confirmed they had parking but failed to mention it was chargeable. We were later billed €150 for three nights, and they even refused to provide the exact location of the parking area. On a positive note: The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect. You're right in the heart of all the luxury Firenze has to offer and directly facing a beautiful, holy church. The breakfast was more than delicious, and the staff in the breakfast room were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming.

Hotel de la Ville truly lives up to its reputation. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive. The interior is beautifully designed, elegant, with a touch of classic Roman charm. Our room was spacious, quiet, and had a lovely view over the rooftops. The location is unbeatable, just steps away from the Spanish Steps, yet it still feels tucked away and peaceful. It’s definitely a splurge, but worth it for a special stay in Rome

What makes a hotel truly exceptional is not only its location, condition, or style. It’s the service, and above all, the kindness of its people. Hotel De La Ville embodies this perfectly. If I could create my own gold-standard team, it would be made up of the very people who work here. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt the difference between this hotel and so many others I have stayed in. Every detail of service was infused with genuine care, from the bellhop and housekeeping staff, to those who served us coffee and ensured the breakfast room ran seamlessly, to the warm and welcoming reception team, including the lovely Desiree and the fabulous Stefano. My stay was filled with exquisite moments, each one made special by the people who bring this hotel to life. If you’re seeking more than just a beautiful location and a comfortable place to stay, if you want an experience defined by warmth, elegance, and genuine hospitality then Hotel De La Ville is the place.

Wasn't that sure we had booked a decent hotel and ot surpassed my expectations. Amazing location. Minutes from the duomo. Ten minutes walk from the train station and really close yo the river. The hotel is real old school which means large rooms and large bathrooms. The rooms have been redecorated several times over the years and it shows but the bathroom was up to date. The service was also old school which meant amazing six star staff treatment. Desk always manned, attentive super professional service. Clean linens, plush towels, beautiful toiletries. Fabulous breakfast, constantly resupplied. Hpt and cold items. Worth paying the extra money for. I would have given the room a 5* ifnit had had tea/coffee facilities. Badly missed.

I returned to this hotel a few times because of it location , convenience, and great value of its rooms, nice breakfast variety and happy hours with canapes. All around a great experience. The views will be only to the church in front, or the alley, but the location is amazing. Just a few steps of the major highlights of Florence.

Terrible experience in Firenze ! 1. Brown(Rusty) water in bath tub 2. Mosquito bothered our sleeping 3. Guy in counter needing service training. Our family felt like they treat Asian people differently. (Ladies were great !) 4. Not good location for people with rental car in terms of access road condition and high costing for parking fee (Daily ~ 35 euro) 5. Breakfast space pretty constrained. 6. Rox chemical smell in room was strong In short, I wouldn't recommend this hotel at such high price.

Four stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hotel has an excellent location, very convenient and close to everything. The rooms are good and comfortable, and the service is also good. However, the breakfast was just average — not bad, but could be better. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Hotel Rex is a charming property located in the historical center of Florence, just a 15-minute walk from popular attractions like Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery. The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi and a daily buffet breakfast for guests. The rooms are brightly decorated, equipped with air conditioning and a minibar. Additionally, the hotel features an awesome bar with a hipster vibe that's popular on weekends.
This hotel is in historic centre , right in the middle of tourist attractions, bars/restaurants and 7 min walk from the train station. Rooms are good value for the price and decent breakfast is included. The best part are the people working there - extremely nice, friendly and helpful. Great experience overall, I would stay there again.

We absolutely loved staying at the Hotel Rex. It is affordable, and has all a traveler needs. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. We were given directions and thoughtful recommendations. The hotel provides a great breakfast, with a variety of food, such as fresh fruit and pastries, as well as other choices. The location is perfect for walking to the sites, as well as to all manner of restaurants. Not only will you save money, you will have a great stay at the Hotel Rex!

Our stay here was very nice, the hotel staff are friendly the hotel is clean and beds are comfortable, and the location is fantastic to all the main sites in Florence. It is good value for your money. The hotel room looked a little old-fashioned needs a little bit of an update. But for the location and for the breakfast, it was good. It was good value for money

This hotel is in a good location, which initially gave me high hopes for my stay. Unfortunately, the room itself was extremely disappointing—it was tiny, and the washroom was even smaller. To make matters worse, the washroom door wouldn’t close, and when we reached out for help, there was no one available as the staff had left by 10 PM. I had an early morning flight and had to check out without getting any assistance, which made the experience even more frustrating. Despite contacting them afterward and requesting a refund, they refused to offer any compensation. Overall, my stay was terrible, and I would strongly urge others to avoid this hotel.
Komal K — Google review
The location itself is hard to beat as it's centrally located to both the Duomo as well as the trams and train station. The buffet breakfast was filling (just no hot dishes). The air conditioning was wonderful as we were there in early August and the temps were above 90 degrees f. all week. The hotel is located on a street busy with tourists during the day and into the evening hours. However, it was just quiet enough to sleep after a busy day of sightseeing. The rooms were just okay. Hence, I give them three stars for the rooms and four stars overall.

Location- ideal if you’re looking for some place near the station. Do not expect much from the breakfast. AC was very weirdly placed between on a passageway sort of place and hardly cooled the room.

Hotel Torre Guelfa is a romantic boutique hotel located in the heart of historic Florence, just 100 meters from Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. The hotel comprises a medieval tower and palace with a modern annex, offering individually designed rooms and suites, some with unique decor blending Baroque, Renaissance, and neo-Victorian styles. The modern wing features contemporary rooms in pearl grey.
The rooftop has one of the most beautiful city views I’ve ever seen. The rooms are nice, our bed was large and comfortable. They could get slightly better pillows but they were fine. The gentleman on reception from the 6-8 March was lovely, welcoming and friendly. And Edlira was absolutely lovely! Her energy at breakfast was very welcomed - she was attentive, and kind and should be given a raise because she is always a busy! Overall a lovely stay and some interesting little rooms to explore in the hotel.

Hotel Torre Guelfa in Florence is beautifully decorated and uniquely charming, with a prime central location. The two older reception staff members were not very welcoming and short-tempered, but the Filipina lady at breakfast was delightful – friendly, charming, and spoke excellent English. Great decor and location, but service could improve.

Great hotel. Breakfast was nice, staff was perfect. Highly recommend the room with terrace Barely more expensive and were able to spend the evenings on our private terrace overlooking the Pallazo Vecchio. One of the most peaceful moment of the trip. Location is perfect, next to all the main landmarks and the room was just what’s needed.

A central location in a charming old building. Very helpful staff at reception. Close to the Ponte Vecchio. Sensational breakfast with the marvellous Vivian. The hotel tower view is stunning.

We had a great stay for 3 nights at Hotel Guelfa. It is very close to the city center and Ponte Vecchio. Breakfast was excellent and they have a cool rooftop bar with great views. We had a leaky shower which was a bit of a bummer but other than that good. Very cool old building with a ton of charm.
Jared H — Google review
Excellent stay, lovely room and a great choice of food for breakfast. Amazing views from the bar at the top of the tower. All the staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is close to the Ponte Vecchio, so it's well placed for visiting all the main tourist destinations.

Although this hotel is in a wonderful location, the rooms are very small and not well appointed. Moreover, the hotel has many areas where walking is unsafe, especially for older patrons. The breakfasts and roof patio were fantastic.

Hotel Arcadia Firenze is a modest property located in the Florence Historic Centre district, less than 1.3 km from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. The hotel offers simple rooms with balconies, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. It also features a parking area on site and is within walking distance to the Mercato Centrale Market and Santa Maria Novella train station.
Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Excellent location 3 minutes from the central railway station. The reception is very friendly and helpful staff. Many people write about old uncomfortable and shabby furniture, but in our room was very comfortable and new bed, the rest of the furniture is not new, but it is normal. We had a broken door to the balcony, but the next morning everything was fixed. Cleaning every day, on the second day in the room changed the linen. Hearing is quite strong, but it was not an inconvenience. We had breakfasts included - it was a mini buffet: croissants, bread, yogurt with additives, various cheese and meat cuts, tea, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything is fresh and tasty. At the reception you can leave your things after check-out. I recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in Florence for a few days ❤️

The hotel personnel were really friendly and welcoming, reception was open 24/7. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. Breakfast was simple but very good. The location was good, close to the main train station and in walkable distance to main attractions. Overall a good experience and I would recommend staying here.

My experience, On the positive side: The hotel personnel were really friendly and welcoming, reception was open 24/7. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. Metro station next to the hotel, train station 5 minutes walk. on the downside: Breakfast is very short. You have to carry your bags by yourself, and there is no assistance from an employee, as there are tiring steps to climb.
Ayad W — Google review
One-Star Review The only redeeming qualities of this so-called hotel are its proximity to Firenze SMN Train Station and the 24-hour service desk. Beyond that, our experience was nothing short of disappointing. Room Conditions The showers were tiny, poorly designed, and downright dangerous. One didn’t even have a place to put shower items, and both were elevated off the ground with no safety railing, making slipping almost inevitable. One room had a constant, musty smell of mold that couldn’t be aired out, adding to the discomfort. To make matters worse, the door hinge in our room closest to the stairs looked like it had been kicked in, with the wood frame broken—hardly reassuring for security. Noise and Disturbance Our second room, located at the end of a narrow corridor, was no better. We heard footsteps and movements outside our door during the night, even though there were no other rooms nearby. It was unsettling, to say the least. Customer Service Trying to communicate with this hotel was an absolute nightmare. We had to reach out multiple times before getting a response, and when they finally replied, they were unfriendly and unhelpful. It felt like we were the ones doing all the work just to get any kind of service. Poor Value For the price we paid, this hotel was barely cheaper than other options in the area. Given the subpar conditions and lack of basic amenities, it was a complete waste of money. Final Verdict If you’re looking for a place that’s barely functional with zero regard for comfort, safety, or customer service, then this might be the spot for you. Otherwise, avoid this hotel at all costs.
Gary — Google review
It looked like anything but a hotel. I definitely do not recommend it, although there are air conditioners in the rooms, I do not think there is anyone who can sleep because of the sound of the air conditioners and the refrigerator. When you turn the air conditioner off, your body becomes sticky. When you turn it on, the air conditioner does not work, I have never had a quality sleep. If a person pays 100 Euros excluding breakfast for a hotel, at least the air conditioner should work properly. The hotel said that if there is availability, we can use the parking lot for six Euros, unfortunately, although the parking lot is for four people, there were two vehicles when we entered the hotel, there were two vehicles when we left in the morning, we did not use it because, according to my estimate, we paid 30 Euros per day with an agreement with a parking lot in the future. The fact that there is a parking area and it is available but they do not provide it shows a person's work ethic, I definitely do not recommend it. The floors of the rooms are completely marble and the bed is very uncomfortable, I woke up with a backache when I woke up in the morning. It is definitely difficult for one person to take a shower in the showers. The floors are completely marble. When you open the mosque of the hotel and look around, it does not seem like a safe place at all. I felt that we were not safe at all.

I loved this hotel, the services were excellent, the staff were wonderful and friendly. It’s a walkable distance from the station which is perfect if you have a lot of luggage 🤭😅
Muznah A — Google review
The absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. There was an awful stench in the room which can be described as mixture of mildew / dead animal rotting in my opinion. It was very strong and the hotel couldn’t do much because they were fully booked. They offered an air freshener to mask the smell. We also noticed the room had the window open probably to air out the awful smell. The hotel is old and in a shady area hard to find the reception floor and requires 2 codes to get in. Very sketchy area. The photos on Google make the hotel look goood but don’t be fooled. Bed was dusty and contained a lot of the smell that we experienced. The breakfast is decent but not amazing. We were too put off by the smell to have an appetite. All in all I wouldn’t stay at this hotel for free. Avoid completely. Not worth the stress.
Rohit B — Google review
This hotel's proximity to the train station is its biggest draw, offering a convenient base for those looking to travel by rail. However, the room quality does not quite match the price tag, with interiors that are outdated and in need of renovation. The breakfast provided is satisfactory, nothing extraordinary, but it's always a welcome inclusion that adds value to the stay. Despite the location, guests may feel that the overall experience would be greatly enhanced by room refurbishments to justify the cost.

With its complimentary Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, and on-site bar, Hotel Perseo provides a welcoming atmosphere for travelers. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at while traveling in Italy! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was very kind and welcoming and always said buongiorno or buonasera, etc. this hotel is also in quite possibly the BEST location. I traveled solo and relied mainly on taking the train and walking everywhere, so I wanted something with easy access. It was literally a block or two from the Duomo and Piazza San Giovanni, about a 10 min walk to Uffizi Gallery, 12-15 min walk to Ponte Vecchio and Oltrano. I had a wonderful visit and very much appreciated the hospitality from this hotel 😊

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean, but small. I barely fit in the shower and banged by elbows multiple times. Great location and I’d recommend staying, however I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast as there are limited options.

Hotel Perseo was our first stop on our Italian vacation. The location was perfect in the center of Florence. All of the staff were friendly and accessible. Asia in particular was extremely helpful and spent time with our group of 11 to identify and make suggestions about must see sites and restaurants. She made some local phone calls for us and even helped to identify the perfect location for a marriage proposal. The breakfast was delicious and the staff did a great job of keeping all selections refilled and the area clean. Our group was able to hang out, order drinks and talk about the day. Check in and check out were extremely easy. We were able to leave our luggage after checkout time in the sitting area while we continued to explore Florence for a few more hours. We would definitely rebook in the future.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Hotel Perseo. Even before we got there, we knew it was going to be fantastic. They were so responsive to all of my questions and emails. They were so accommodating. They gave us restaurant recommendations, moved the beds to the best formation for us. They were so friendly every day whenever we interacted with them. We had 3 different rooms for our family- all of them were great. The best room was definitely the suite on the top floor. The view of Il Duomo was incredible!!!! Honestly, the best view in town. We spent so much time up there as a family. Highlight of our time in Florence. Only thing is- you have to be able to do stairs to stay in the suite on the top floor. Breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. Loved the caprese salad and cappuccinos. Great location- super close to Il Duomo, the train station and a very short walk across the bridge. Cannot recommend this place enough.

very beautiful clean and romantic hotel in the middle of the town in a quiet and nice area . The staff and the owner are very lovely and take care of all our wishes. The breakfast is probably the best in whole Italy with fresh bread and croissants , fresh fruits and juices , eggs , meat etc . only 10 minutes walk to the cathedral and 1 min to the synagogue. Nice restaurants in the area and bus stop near the hotel. The rooms are big and comfortable .We are glad we choose this hotel for our holidays and will be back ! thank you for your professionality !

The hotel is beautiful, romantic, the historic feeling is well maintained . As such, there is no elevator and since the ceilings are high, there are many stairs to climb to the first and second floors :-). Someone will help you carry the suitcases to your room, so you needn't worry about that. We stayed on the ground floor - a spacious room with a small garden - and loved it very much. The staff are mostly nice and the breakfast has a good variety. The hotel is situated about 10 min. walk to the historic center, and 5 min. walk to nearby restaurants, cafes and supermarket. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much - largely because we stayed on the ground floor, and not on the first or second high floors with no elevator...

This hotel was absolutly amazing. Very nice personel, the room was stunning, big and very affordable (off-season). Good various breakfast. One downside: the thin walls. With a big street near there is already a lot of noise but the noise from the other guests is much worse, many loud people, but we might have been unlucky. I was initially worried after reading some reviews, but the price and location of the hotel convinced me to take the risk and book it. I'm so glad I did because everything was perfect! The location was perfect for us as we had a car. The free parking was a huge plus, and it was still relatively close to the city center. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, allowing us to leave our car in the parking lot and our luggage at the hotel after check-out. While the building itself felt a bit outdated, the room was comfortable and met our needs, although we did feel it could have been cleaner.

The fotos of this hotel are deceiving. Hotel is run down, security door to annex does not lock(when I told front desk she was not aware), mattress broken, old wool blankets in beds. Absolutely disgusting . No bellhop to help nor cart for luggage. How it earned 4 stars is a mystery. Glad we passed on breakfasts. God only knows what would have been served. The only plus is the bucolic neighborhood.

This place was amazing for us! We came for a few days from US and it was our first time in Italy. My friend and I stayed here for three nights at the end of a trip to Italy. We liked the location, amongst some trees and green space in a comparatively quiet neighborhood away from the crowds, noise, and heat of the major attractions. It is a half-hour walk unless you are brisk however, so folks with mobility concerns might struggle. Our room was large enough, but it seemed a little dingy, and the grout in the bathroom was heavily mildewed - it'd be nice if someone would bleach that! Also the shower head was crusty with hard water residue, the shower enclosure leaked all over the floor, and the sink didn't drain properly. The beds appeared to be a fairly supportive latex, which is good for my bad back, but the pillows were like concrete. Folks with a preference for marshmallow beds might want to avoid. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and made restaurant recommendations and arranged taxis, which was really nice. There was a fairly large selection of breakfast pastries and other items, and since it's a hike to get to other options, it was worth paying the extra for. All in all an okay stay.

The hotel is very well located just outside the city center, a 20-minute walk. The room was quite large and clean. We were not disturbed by noise, either from other rooms or from outside. The buffet breakfast offered great diversity and choice. There's also a bar and snack service, which is simply fine. The pool was pleasant. The most annoying thing was the concierge. She took a call when I was paying and didn't say anything to me when I was leaving. I will say "poor service"

Hostel Gallo D'Oro is a charming accommodation in Florence, offering bright dorms and private rooms along with a guest kitchen, lounge, and complimentary breakfast. Situated just 1.4 km from Bargello National Museum, this low-key hostel provides storage facilities, an on-site restaurant, and a vending machine for added convenience. While the check-in staff is friendly and helpful, some guests found the information about purchasing bus tickets lacking.
This was a great hostel. The rooms were air conditioned with well built beds and spacious lockers. The shower was high pressure, hot, and towels plus body wash were included. To top it off there was a near constant supply of free food, and unlimited free coffee, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. In terms of location it's a pleasant 15 minute walk from the center. Would definitely stay again

This hostel is a really nice place. The rooms are small and simple but very clean and friendly. They have an extra corridor for the female dorms which is only accessible with a door code (except for room seven which is on the general corridor) . So if you like to have a real safe space, this is your place. The best thing about this place is the free food that is included all day. They have a little breakfast buffet in the morning, snacks (like sandwiches) for lunch and mostly pasta and salad for dinner. So you can really save some time and money there. The only thing that I think is missing is some kind of common area with couches or some terrace or something where you can just hang around and talk to people. There are some seats and tables where you can eat, but they are all for two people so you basically stay with the people you came with or with the ones from your dorm. Altogether I can really recommend this hostel.

The hostel is amazing. Location is a tad far from the train station but Florence is easily navigable either way. Rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. Food is available 24/7, as is the check in. This is amazing, especially since one can get dinner here as well. Service staff were friendly and helpful.

Easily my favorite Hostel I've stayed at during the trip I took (in March 2017), and since then. It's a bit of a walk to get to the center of town but it is so worth it for the helpful staff and good clean conditions to stay in. I was in the female rooms section and it was wonderful, we had our own shared kitchenette with the other rooms and plenty of showers and space to get ready in the morning (including lots of sinks and mirrors!) The co-ed space was also available to us to lounge in and talk to other people who stayed. The breakfast was good and the space was very lively. It was a very pleasant stay, it made me wish I was staying longer!

I've stayed in the 6 Bed Mixed Dorm and it was great! Each bed has a light, a power supply and an USB port. The locker is big enough for a big backpack. The room has an air conditioning, so u can setup its temperature, and also has a balcony! Free breakfast, dinner, towels, shampoo, soap, city's map! The whole hostel is VERY clean! The location is good, takes u about 15-20 minutes walking to reach the historical center. Highly recommend this hostel!

I think that this hostel is a hidden gem in Florence. Check-in staff were really nice/friendly/helpful. There was one person in the morning at the desk though who seemed like she didn't like being asked questions. And they aren't informative about where to buy bus tickets. It's like they don't know where to buy them either. *Shrug* just buy your tickets in advance at the station or at a store. Location is okay, meaning, it is easy to find but you have to walk a bit far. There is a bus stop right at the street but if you don't have tickets... Place is secure and has lots of food and coffee (i love this) and a good common area to hang out in and meet people. Adequate space in the rooms and showers and toilets. Large lockers. They clean the room, change sheets and towels daily. Even have free lotion. There is laundry service which I wasn't able to use. 4 euros each for washing and drying. Overall, great experience. Would surely book this place again.

Good hostel this is great if you are on a budget as you get free breakfast AND dinner. The coffee machine is great with some of the best hot chocolate in the business. This place is kept clean and your bed is made everyday. There are lockers in the room for extra security which is a plus in any hostel. I would be happy staying here again when visiting Florence.

Lovely hostel, comfortable and clean. Friendly staff always ready to help. You get delicious breakfast, simple lunch and dinner. Cafeteria with tea and coffee opened 24h. Our room had air conditioning and shower. Spacious lockers, sockets and lamp at every bed, and you get a towel. Best hostel I've ever lived

Villa Nardi - Residenza D'Epoca is a charming hotel located in a 19th-century villa nestled in the green area of Florence. The historic mansion, surrounded by its private park, offers simply decorated, air-conditioned rooms with modern amenities such as free WiFi and flat-screen TVs. Guests can enjoy a delightful a la carte breakfast and friendly hosts, along with the company of three poodles that eagerly greet visitors.
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The place was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness made my experience even more comfortable. The owners and employees were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The location is great—just a 15-20 minute walk to the city center, making it convenient yet peaceful. The surrounding neighborhood is calm and full of greenery, perfect for a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet, and well-located place to stay. I would definitely return!

We spent three serene nights at Villa Nardi. I did a lot of research before choosing this hotel and it did not disappoint. The room was clean, large and well-appointed. It was also air conditioned, a huge plus during a hot summer! The bed was large and super comfortable. Ingrid at the front desk was helpful and accommodating. The breakfasts were huge and the best I’ve had at any stay in Europe. We loved the outdoor patio and had a lovely impromptu picnic out there one night. The villa is outside the city centre, located in a peaceful neighbourhood with many spectacular homes nearby. We walked to and from Florence attractions every day and it is a pleasant walk for people who are fit and enjoy strolling. Villa Nardi is a gorgeous escape from the hustle and bustle of Florence and we LOVED our stay and would 100% stay again!

Great small hotel with character. An old villa with only seven rooms, nice hosts, good breakfast, very comfortable bed...situated in the best residential area of Florence - surrounded by parks but a short walk or bus ride to the historical center. Definitely a hotel to recommend.

Amazing experience, the villa offers a true voyage back in the 19th century. You are surrounded by art everywhere. The staff is great, the villa is very well located close to the city center by foot - in an amazing neighbourhood of historical mediteranean villas. I strongly recommend!

Beautiful villa, located in a quiet area still close to everything you want to see in Firenze. We walked everywhere, so possible to for by foot (can be 35 000 steps :)) Our room was nice, spacious and bright, special compliments to a perfect bathroom. Villa itself very nice and cozy with a beautiful garden and onsite parking. Breakfast amazing, hosts friendly:) highly recommended

Hotel Principe is a charming boutique hotel located in the heart of Florence, nestled along the picturesque River Arno. Housed in an elegant aristocratic residence dating back to 1860, this hotel seamlessly blends historic allure with modern amenities such as satellite TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy a delightful breakfast, unwind at the bar/lounge, or take in panoramic city views from the rooftop terrace.
Such a charming, beautifully decorated boutique hotel, feels like home! Comfortable bedroom with amenities, room 34 had a lovely terrace over the Southern side of the Arno river. Enjoyed the cute little garden for breakfast, as well as the secret rooftop with an almost 360 degree breathtaking view over Florence. Warm welcome, attentive service. Excellent location - close to the central station, in a relatively quiet neighbourhood. Felt safe walking back to the hotel alone at night. Highly recommended!

Room 30 very beautiful, so much to do in Florence, though so luxurious at this hotel, we did not want to go anywhere. The breakfast excellent, relaxing beautiful space. Cappuccinos the best. Those that work here are very helpful, I felt very taken care of. The bed was very comfortable and a very quiet place to get some rest. The balcony with amazing view of river, to be in so much luxury... one if most beautiful cities in world. A peak life experience I will always remember. Thank You Team Principe 🙂 Note: There is a elevator, the stairs are so beautiful, very fun to walk up and down on them, look at the artwork, so much history.

Very nice hotel. Super friendly and attentive staff (they opened wine bottles for us, provided iced bucket, gave us free snacks (bites, and pistachios) (and a iced bucket for our white wine bottle) in the garden while we were reading during a sunny arvo). The room feels very Florentine. Location by the water is nice, but you are away from all touristic spots. Take a cab to get to / from train station (don't walk with your luggages as most side walk / street are cobble stones or uneven). The staff called a taxi for us. Special star: lovely hotel dog.

Wonderful Stay at Hotel Príncipe in Florence! We had a truly delightful stay at Hotel Príncipe. The hotel captures the authentic charm of Florence and is ideally located for exploring the city. The terrace rooms are perfect, and the rooftop 360-degree terrace offers a breathtaking view of Florence, especially of the iconic Duomo. Simply unforgettable. The garden where breakfast is served is absolutely lovely, providing a peaceful and picturesque start to the day. For those arriving by car, the large and secure parking area is a major plus and adds to the overall convenience. In terms of service, the experience felt more like a 5-Star hotel. The staff were outstanding, rarely have we received such a warm and competent welcome. A special thanks goes to Mr. Ferdinando, who was truly exceptional. Thank you for everything, we look forward to returning soon!

Very nice people, we loved our room only the AC was hard to configure. Location right by the river was nice and the breakfast was amazing! We were really happy that we could bring our dog.

If I could give six stars for Hotel Principe I would! The staff were the most friendly and helpful I think I've ever run into. The concierge spent a half hour trying (unsuccessfully) to book us to see Michaelangelo's David. Hiro - a quiet dog- greeted us at the door, then lay down to watch us. This family-run hotel is an older hotel with plenty of style. Antiques and comfortable furniture fill the lounges and The rooms. The room was uncrowded. Two small comfortable chairs sat near the window which looked down on the River Arno. Parking was easy and uncrowded. It was only a few minutes walk to the sites of Florence. The breakfast was buffet and well served. A helper made my toast for me. I noticed a woman staying at the hotel sit down at the piano in the lounge and began playing gentle piano music. It was a lovely atmosphere. I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat.

We were at Hotel Principe last week. The host that checked us in was friendly, courteous, and very helpful. He guided us to the best steakhouse. It was magnificent. Jeffery guided us to our room and showed us how to use the espresso machine. He was so helpful and friendly. He was also our Bar man in the quaint lounge. Thank you so much. You were a great part of our Italian holiday. Breakfast was great!

(Translated by Google) The Villa di Rusciano is part of the Rusciano complex, which includes a large park with dozens of plant species. The Villa is very ancient, unfortunately in decline, despite the fact that in past centuries when Luca Pitti was the owner, even an exceptional restorer such as Filippo Brunelleschi had a hand in it in the mid-fifteenth century, to whom an internal staircase is attributed. The park in the part of the hill which is accessed from via di Ripoli offers a beautiful olive grove, while on the upper slope various trees stand out, including exotic ones, the result of the interests of the last owner, the German Baron Von Stumm, who was a great enthusiast of botany - even today you can admire a very valuable palm tree in the back garden of the villa -. My favorite place is located at the top of the hill: it is a beautiful panoramic roundabout from which you can glimpse the Duomo and can be reached from an avenue of cypress trees (under renovation, let's say). In the upper part of the park there is also a dog area, while in the middle there is a fitness trail and in the olive grove there are various sports equipment installed more recently but unfortunately already defaced by the inevitable vandals. In my humble opinion, it is a truly magical place, considering that it is located in the heart of the city, although unfortunately, considering the high renovation costs, it seems destined for an inevitable decline. For me it would be an ideal location to install a sort of Uffizi 2 and give visibility, even if temporary, to the most hidden artistic heritage of the Florentine art gallery. But it's just advice, of course...

We loved our stay at Novella house. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff were kind and accommodating. It’s in walking distance to all the main attractions in Florence and is close to the train station. Perfect base for us- highly recommend.

Staff is very friendly and Martina offered a bunch of recommendations as we were checking in. Room was cute and charming. We were on the ground floor (San Lorenzo I believe) and it was a bit loud with neighbours coming and going, but quiet during the night. They offer free juice/water and snacks in the room that they refill. Staff is on-site from 8:30am-6:30pm. They do not change your towels daily, I think every few days. We stayed for 6 nights and were given new towels once. You can pay for new towels if you want. They do come in and take your garbage and clean the floors daily. Location was good, super close to the train station. Great if you take a lot of day trips like we did. Cons: our room was pretty cold (in mid-December) and takes a long time to heat up. Hot water supply was short at night. We had to take quick showers and if you have a second person, they will need to wait a while for the hot water to fill up.

I was i Florence and i payed for this apartment before to arrive. They promissed me valet parking on the site and parking. They dont have. They have a garage, and yiu must pay 60 euros per night. I called the police and one guy which sais he is lorenzo the owner told me that he will give me the money back in my account. So i remained in the street in night with 2 litlle kids without no place to sleep after a lot of driving time. After this, they didnt return me the money back. In the message it was a guy named alex, he send me the details for check in but he saud the recepion is opened until 18:30 and they will let me the key in the locker. When i arrived there the parking was very far away from the house and they never return my money back even i was there with the police. So they dont have parking, u must pay at a garage which is nearby and if they have place for u. If they dont, u must go and look for parking because they dont let u to enter with the car in the center of florence. The owner is very arrogant and afressive on the phone, he harrassed me after because of the bad review on the booking, but they deserve this, the people must lnow that the property is not ok and not safe. He put all the staff to harras me ans asked me why i give him bad review. I told him give me money back if u said one thing on booking and when i arrive there is another thing. I payed for some services and u dont offer me. He said ok i give u money back. But he never do this. I never stayed there. I talked with him before and he said its ok you can go i will return u the money in the same account. But it was the police in front of him… please dont be cheated by appearneces. Dont stay there if u dont want to be in my situations with teo kids late in the night we remain eithout a place to sleep.

This hotel is super conveniently located! You can walk to and from most parts of Florence without issue, including the train station which came in so handy. The rooms are pretty and decorated tastefully according to the vintage style of Florence. We had a basket of free snacks at our disposal as the hotel does not offer breakfast which I found to be a lovely touch. Our only negatives: we found the mattress a little hard to sleep on but we got used to it after the second night. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to take a room on the top floor, as the ground floor rooms are not soundproof (you will hear your neighbours and the people outside of the hotel at night). Overall, I felt content with my stay and recommend it to anyone who values a well-located accommodation.

Stay away from this hotel at all costs! My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one night and found a BED BUG crawling on the lamp. Mind you, this hotel is not cheap. It's a very old building but rooms are renovated. We didn't think the hotel would be that dirty. The hotel staff was so incompetent. They put us in another hotel and did not issue us with a refund, instead they had us take a taxi to another hotel in the middle of the night where we spent sanitizing our belongings. Such a nightmare dealing with the staff. Spend your money somewhere else.
Nivetha V — Google review
We stayed at this hotel in Florence and had a very mixed experience. On the positive side, the receptionist Roxana was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful. The room itself was beautiful, and the location is excellent. However, what happened during our stay was absolutely unacceptable: We had a suite with two rooms (Room 305). Our daughters were sleeping alone in the front room. Around midnight, a strange man suddenly entered our children’s room. When I heard footsteps, I immediately went in and confronted him. He claimed to be a staff member of the hotel. I then called the night porter, only to discover that there is no staff physically present in the hotel at night. The night porter was a different person, available only by phone. The incident was explained as a “room mix-up,” which apparently did not seem like a serious matter to the staff involved. Even worse, the rooms cannot be locked from the inside, which is a huge flaw and an enormous safety concern. We and our children felt extremely unsafe. The lack of safety and security here is alarming. We cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel, especially not for families with children.

I slept in one of their rooms the night before my wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. First off, the room is enormous so it’s perfect for getting ready if you have friends, beauticians and stylists coming in to help you prepare. There’s a fridge and coffee maker too. The view of the Arno is calming and to die for. The bed is comfy and the shower pressure perfect. There’s also a gigantic mirror - I’m telling you, the room was made for bridal prep! Federica and Roxy helped with my questions before and during my stay, and then took one of my most favorite wedding photos of me and my sister in the elevator going down to our taxi! Thank you so much for helping make that day/stay the BEST!

The place is clean and neat & near everything which is great . Its expensive for a 3* but it does offer à comfort and security as you are out all day . Its away from the tourist crowds which is great. About 15-17 mns walk from the station which I wouldn’t recommend if you have a heavy suitcase as streets are not made to walk with suitcases . The check in is on 3rd floor (old lift) but we got a room just by the courtyard. You get a key to get in & out during your stay . Staff friendly. But we aware that check out is 11 am so if you are late your suitcases are outside as they have already cleaned the room for next arrival. The plus having a kettle & coffee machine which even most 5 star hotels don’t have . Great place if you are out all day & only need to sleep . Plenty of nice places around to have bfast, aperitif & dinner . More locals in this area and prices are much better . 5-7 mns walk to Ponte Vechio

The location is comfortable. The hotel is located in walking distance from the main attractions. It is near to the river and some local bars, but you should walk 10-15 minutes to the center. The reception is open only on certain hours, so during the rest of the day and night you should phone the receptionist (and if you don't have a sim card?!). The entrance to the hotel is via a big door and than a gate that you have to get the keys for them from the receptionist. The reception itself is located in the 3rd floor and the elevator is too small. You can come in to the elevator only one person with one luggage at a time. The rooms are located in the ground floor or in the 3rd floor. Before you enter the room there is a third door which isn't opened easily with the key you got from the receptionist, so you need to play with the key for a few minutes every time. The room is big and well decorated, but it doesn't have enough natural light. There is only one window which is small and it's facing to a small yard of the building. The room was very clean. We stayed only 2 nights and there was clean service. The wifi on the ground floor wasn't working properly!! We didn't cell services reception! The refrigerator didn't work well and than stopped working.

We booked this accommodation for a 2 night stay. We were given a room on the bottom floor. The room was completely different from those advertised. The room smelled of damp, the wallpaper was peeling, the toilet seat was broken, a tiny computer monitor sized TV, and a window with no natural light that opened onto a dirty courtyard. We complained that this wasn’t as advertised. There were no pictures of this room on any website even their own. Not surprising as most guests would run a mile to get away from it! We were told that they would move us only if we paid an extra €70 which was ridiculous. The manager never showed his face and left the complaint to be handled by the poor receptionist. We were duped. It seems the area we were given was a separate accommodation (numero 8) and was not worth a quarter of what we paid! We were left to wander the streets to find an alternative on one of the busiest weekends of the year. I would avoid this business as the dishonesty leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

Great and lovely b&b. Perfect location! Very friendly staff. Nice decorated room, really big, great beds & pillows (and I am very preciously in this). Nice spot to have your breakfast. I can only sleep when it's quiet, so we got a room in the back (6), what was perfect and quiet. The only remark I have is that they didn't change the towels after our second night and even the breakfast was nice and good, the bread was very hard baked (the other couple who stayed there at the same moment said the same) and there could be some variation in the cutlery (I don't like salami and got 3 mornings salami). It's just an advice! For sure I will come back if I will be in Florence. We really have had a great time and a very good and pleasant stay in your B&B.

Great location and wonderful views. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was decent but the coffee machine was not good. There was a large spotlight for the square right outside our window and the sheer curtains and shutter let a lot of light through in the night so some thicker curtains would be nice. Overall a good experience.

The hostess Elenora was amazingly helpful with directions and helpful tips, the cakes she baked and brought in every morning were fabulous. We will totally come back and also recommend to anyone wanting to spend a few days in Florence.

We loved staying here. The room we had was amazing and overlooked the square below. A perfect beginning to our voyage through Italy. Couldn't have been more pleased with the facilities which were spotlessly clean and met our needs. Staff was really really nice and made sure we enjoyed their place as well as Florence! Breakfast was basic but very good. Some sort of fresh baked food included every morning. Air conditioner was a bit loud but it worked when we needed it :)

We were so happy with our stay here! The location is absolutely perfect for everything we wanted to do in Florence and the amenities were lovely: breakfast was delicious, the rooms were spacious, clean, stylish and very comfortable. The hosts were gracious and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay!! Beautiful room, we were tired so we stayed in for the evening and we could hear a symphony of harps, flutes and pianos below us in the square. The location is excellent, easy to get to from the train and very safe. The room itself is beautiful with a chandelier and lovely italian shutters, with a view of the whole of florence. You can see the Justice statue right in front of you!! The host was so kind and gave us a breakfast of a selection of pastries and cooked breakfast, while also giving us advice on places to see around florence. Lots of brand shops around, and just a few minutes away from the Ponte Vecchio. Lovely stay would definitely come again
