We did not clarified the price assuming that if we asked for a dish at 18 euros, and you are out and recommending something else, you normally would recommend something in the same range of price...when we got the bill, it was 45euros! We will never go back there ever.

We came for a wedding hosted here and so the ambience was very nice and special, yet still somewhat relaxing (at least for the guests). It's not over the top formal and a bit rural with cockerels roaming freely. They set up outdoors, which was ok in early September. Fortunately it was sunny during the day, but you did need a coat/jumper/cardigan/shawl for the evening. The food generally had a good taste. The couple had kindly put on an open bar, but it started late and service was slow. The venue was responsible for the issues, but didn't offer to extend the open bar and made sure to start charging on the dot. Had to ask for glasses of the other wine during dinner. The organisation was not on point. They were short staffed and as a result things ran much later than planned. This did have a negative impact on some planned things. The staff who were there were trying their best and they were nice and friendly. However, it didn't seem like there was someone senior overseeing matters and this was a massive oversight for such a major occasion. It was chaotic at times and they even brought out the wrong cake (it was for one of the other events being held at the venue)! To me, it seems tucked away and hidden, which makes it even more special. There’s a big covered outdoor dining area nestled amongst several stone buildings. I seldom if ever ate a sandwich back in the states but I tell you sometimes now after living over here for years, I kind of just want a sandwich and you can find them here and they’re good.
