The 49 best Riga, Latvia breweries and craft beer

My visit to Labietis was in March 2025. It was very busy, obviously very popular. The range of beers were amazing, and I couldn't get over the strength of some of them 🤩. The barman was very helpful, even offering samples before you commit to a drink. The bar snacks were great too, taking the edge off. If I go back to Riga I'd definitely go here again 👍🏻

Lovely and cozy atmosphere with plenty of space both inside and outside. Great selection of beers – both on draft and in cans. We were served by a very friendly and articulate female bartender, and she kindly offered us a few tastings before we decided. The beers and snacks were excellent. If we hadn’t had plans elsewhere, we definitely would have stayed for another round or two. The olives were some of the best I’ve ever had!

This place is a million stars out of ten. The beer (and mead) is utterly sublime - every single one of the seven we tried were stupendously good. Juniper ale, ginger mint, mead… and the absolute star of the show… braggot… all just brilliant. Very very highly recommended indeed. Rye chips good too.

My new, favorite Latvian beer is Labietis. After tasting their offerings in the big market downtown, we decided to trek out to the brewery and check out what else they had available. A cool little section of town, some light snacks and 16 different beers on tap. If you are a beer lover, it is worth the trip. And oddly, they were playing the entire day of one of my favorite albums of 1989, The Sundays “reading, writing and arithmetic”. Very random…

Super friendly, good beer and nice atmosphere. Excellent experience, bartenders speak English well which really helped us. Highly recommended

This is such a great brewery. They have a large selection of beers on tap, many of which are very unique, and include beers made using medieval ingredients and techniques. They also have some unique beers infused with herbs.

Went to Riga and missed this place. big regret. Bought two of their beers at the airport since we had a delay. The juniper Red ale, and the Witch of light Bronze age braggot. The juniper was delicious with its crisp light flavor with a hint of tart berry, but the Bronze age braggot was the standout to me. very unique taste of sourness, beer and almost a liqouricy tartiness. very unique flavor. ended up ordering a lot of beers to my home in Denmark from their website. also went without a hitch, they handled all issues like the danish Excise duty so the delivery went without any issues. big respect to this brewery for their innovation and super high quality for a very reasonable price. a must visit for you, and definitely for me when i make it back to beautiful Riga.

Visited in Sep 2025 Folkklubs Ala Pagrabs was recommended to us as the most popular bar amongst locals. Therefore decided to pay a visit after dinner. Conveniently located in the old town of Riga, this watering hole is a truly happening place. We tried a few Latvian beers which were quite good. Didn’t try any food as we visited the place after dinner, but there is a proper food menu for those wanting to visit this place for food & drinks. You should surely try the local Latvian beers available on tap here. I would definitely recommend visiting this local watering hole if you want to experience a local bar scene and want to try some proper Latvian beers.

We had such a great time that we went back twice. It was full both times so we ended up at the bar but we had a great time there. They do have great garlic bread but the meal servings are so large that it might be a mistake to order it too. All the food we had was really good, and we tried a huge variety of drinks: the lager tasting flight, hot Riga black balsam in red currant juice (the way to do it), the local moonshine (infused liquor), the burning beer (very good for sipping!), a local cider, and an anise-flavored liquor that was very sweet. Our bartender, Laura, gave a ton of context and suggestions and we were lucky to run into her both times. There was also live music and the atmosphere was great. Great place to eat and hang out for a while. Prepare to be flexible if you don’t make a reservation. It got pretty noisy on Saturday night but not to a bad level.

This place was recommended by our local tour guide. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant. I ordered the grilled pork ribs in beer marinate and it was hands down one of the best dish I’ve ever had. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and melted in my mouth. Also our waitress recommended the traditional battered chicken fillet folk club style, which was creamy and juicy inside. We loved their ginger beer (ingwer beer). It was refreshing and a perfect pairing either way our meals. The waitress was incredibly attentive, friendly and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Highly recommend!

Love this place. Must visit if you in Riga. Authentic place with amazing food and service! Located in seller with plenty of space, better to book for dinner especially for weekend,but u may be in luck for free table and always can pop in for drink. Recommended!

Lovely pub with live music every day! Delicious food and huge beer selection! Recommend:) we go here every Wednesday for folk dancing! Definitely try the honey beer while you’re here. If you’re in more than 2 people it’s better to make a reservation as it’s quite popular. And be aware, it is very very warm inside!

Amazing place. A must visit when you come to Riga. We were lucky - that evening there was a live band concert - the performers are unreal, exciting and do not let you be sad. Great place, easy to find, right in the old town. I recommend booking a table during an event - a place to sit is guaranteed. The waiters are nice and helpful, fast. The menu has a large selection - both food and drinks. We tasted everything and shared dishes. The portions are large in my opinion. The food is very, very tasty.

This is a must go place when visiting Riga..!!! Had visited the place for dinner around 7:30 pm and oh boy the place had a fantastic vibe…!!! The staff here is extremely helpful they arranged a table even though the place was full…!! The best part is there was a live band playing songs…!!! the place is basic but nice and modern. not many tables then a reservation is recommended. the food is good and inspiring as well as the craft beer. what i do not like is the high background noise that gets diffucult a conversation or even to make the order. the staff is polite but not very reactive and attentive. the prices are a bit high but the value for money is ok.

The place is really nice and has a great selection of beers. But the staff was a bit rude and it took a while until someone came to clear our table after we were done. Sweet potato fries were dry and burned. The burger was good though.

We fancied, Big Bad Bagels, but unfortunately they had no seats, so round the corner we found this place... It wasn't too bad, it was quiet when we entered around 13:00, however it was a lot busier by the time we finished. Serving time wasn't too bad, but in picture 1, those are the exact same beers, yet the colours are very different.... And judging by picture 3, they brew their own beer and might need to clean the pipes more, as the taste was very different! The food (1 beef and 1 pulled pork) were unfortunately cold before we finished them, inuding the chips, so they didn't come out piping hot but the food did taste nice. The service... One dude behind the bar, so I asked if I could take the menus to our table (save him the time) but was quite dismissive and didn't bring them over for another 10 minutes... It's alright, but with Riga being so small when you're in town, there are plenty of places better to explore.

The owner of the bar is very cool guy and he could speak about beer a lot. Other staff are not so friendly. The food is normal nothing special. The beer... Well if you like stout maybe it is for you. I dont like beer with bitterish taste.

Definitely a MUST place to visit in Riga if you love craft beer. Really great home made craft beers (at least a dozen), stunning place and really kind bartenders.

This is me and Kalvis, one of the brewers and bartenders at this amazing microbrewery in downtown Riga. We were looking for a place to hang out and drink beer with WiFi and the logo of this place caught our eye. We had the best bruschetta (with mackerel) we've ever had. The beer was amazing and they have fantastic t-shirts to go with each beer. Completely recommended. I would even consider coming back to Latvia just to hang out here!

Should have been better. Staff were really stand off-ish, not very helpful and that made the experience a bit cold. Nice setting, love their branding and the beer is ok. The Hypnos brewery bottle I had was incredible.

Latvian local brewery you should try. It's a small cozy place with a lovely ambience. Local Nurme Beers are available on tap, can and takeaway beer from tap beers.

The design of the place I’d say industrial, I found it so cool. They have a variety of seating options such as window seating with cushions+ chairs+armchairs, high table+chairs. Also they have candles on the tables which give a great ambiance to the place. We were there only for drinks. The bartender was so friendly. I am not so much of a beer person but fell in love with this beer! They have exceptional craft beer. Definitely recommend it!

Friendly neighborhood bar with welcoming bartenders and a great selection of craft beer!

One of the toilets is creepy but besides that, it’s a nice place. They have next door’s “Boar BBQ” restaurant menu on their wall, encouraging you to order from Boar, which is delivered to you on a tray in Nurme — would definitely recommend, great quality food! Their fries are one of the best in Riga, no cap. - Nice chill music - Nice bartender - Cosy atmosphere, love the candles - Has a cool selection of mixers to add to your vodka cocktail

Has my favourite beer in Latvia - Pinefruit IPA. Allows to take burgers from the nearby Boar BBQ (imo best burgers in Latvia). Nice atmosphere and tasty beers, all that you need from a place like this. Staff is friendly and helps with suggestions of beers.

Cozy beer bar with a low light intimate atmosphere. Five beers on tap which are regularly changing. Primary beers from Nurme brewery, but also usually some variations from other breweries. Selection of bottled beers available. There's an option to order food from a cafe near the Nurme bar and it will be delivered to your table at Nurme bar. Friendly staff.

This is a cosy and hip coffee and craft beer bar in an up and coming hipster side of Riga. Coffee is excellent, and an ever-changing selection of locally brewed craft beer and ales too. Love the vibe in this place, highly recommend!

Always excellent selection of beers. I’ve tried Apricot X Mango X Coconut X Vanilla (smoothie ale) — 10/10. Love the atmosphere a lot, too. You may try beer tasting here, too.

Friendly baratenders, willing to tell about available beers or have nice chat about life ;) . Good music playing background. Stylish interior. Don't have kitchen,but offers lockal snacks to enjoy with beer,like cheese plate, beef jerky, bred chips. Worth visiting if you are interested in colorful work of craft beer!

Best pizza in Riga! Packed with flavour with the perfect topping to dough ratio. It’s hard to find pizzas like that! Honestly recommend to visit this place with grate Latvian beer!

heaven for beer lovers. a bit out of the city center, in a local hood. tried milk ipa for the first time there and it was amazing. food looked decent (i didnt eat) if u are a beer lover, give it a try!!

Great atmosphere, good beer choice for craft lovers, however, the food, pizza particularly was undercooked, chef agreed to redo the pizza, but second one was not great either. Overall, you can have a good and fresh beer in this place with lovely music background

Brilliant little bar with craft ales, great IPA’s and a sceptic at first but the Mango flavoured ale was spot on if not for a session pint. Pizza are great and competitively priced.

Cute brewery, nice outside area, friendly people. You can try the different Beer before you decide what to take. The Pizza looked good but I didnt eat.

A bar/brewpub which has a feel of a home brewer taproom. Indeed they make their own beers Trofeja, which is a great idea and interesting concept. I recommend the place for anyone interested in craft beers. Seems like the brewer is experimenting with herbs at the moment, but you may find various styles. It's a cosy simple place with a spacious terrace outside. At the bar you'll find other beers, takeaways available, as well as other liquors. A few packed snack options. However, they partner with nearby Oak'A Burgers, so you can order whatever on a phone from there and bring it here - highly recommended.

Definitely an excellent brewpub! Ziemelu Enkurs brews their own beers, also sells craft beer bottles. Other drinks available at bar as well. I personally like their smokey beers. A choice of snacks, foods,- overall, kitchen is nontheless great. They offer swedish table lunch option, eat as much as you can - weekdays 7€, weekends 10€ (2018 spring). Tasty choices, from starters to deserts! Not high prices on beers and snacks, love it. Music goes in a variety, heard from heavy rock to funky pop. It is one of the Beer District pubs, so international visitors are welcome. In general, a must visit for beer lover, or a great lunch with family, dog, whatever.

Quality beer and excellent service. The bartender was really friendly and knowledgeable. The food was very good and the terrace is a lovely place to take it all in. If I lived nearby I'd be there all the time!

A decent underground bar in the second floor. They have a good variety of their own draught beer, so you'll probably find something for yourself, and kitchen seems to be of good quality, too. Sorry, my taco fell over :)

Great selection of craft beers! Very friendly host and absolutely cozy interior and warm atmosphere. Prices are very correct. They even have Evil Twin beer from NYC. Not to mention Fuerst Wiacek from Berlin etc.

In Riga's old town, this is the best option for proper food along with some nice beers. Relatively inexpensive for this part of Riga. Traditional Latvian dishes. Great service!! Perfect atmosphere and setting. Often there's live music and people dancing. Quite similar to your traditional Irish Pub.

Has been here for 8 years and has around 2-300 beers and a few taps. Food can be ordered from neighboring restaurants .

Nice place with good selection. It is more a store than a place to sit nice for an evening. Store owner is friendly and chatty. Chills the beer for you if he doesn't have it cold. Beer prizes are high, but the stuff is from all over the world and is special, so don't expect to get drunk here for no money ;) it is a beer speciality store, prizes can go up to 14-20€ for a very special one. Had the oat meal raisin stout for around 4€, was not disappointed. Can recommend the place for a short stop or to buy some for a evening at home.

This place should put a big sign “We are smoking inside”. Yes, formally the law been taken - a person stays outside… half step off the door. Disgusting for non smoker and very dangerous for those who has allergy on smoke.

The bar has a laid back grunge vibe that I enjoyed. I especially had fun reading the quirky and often amusing writings on the bathroom walls.

All great, nice and cozy. Love to spend an evening here with friends or enjoy a meal or a beer during lunch on my own. The beers here are good and the cocktails are amazing and the staff is the best. Fast and quality. Would recommend to people looking for a nice spot in the Center.

Nice peacefull place where you Can hang out with your friends. Only thing is the size. It is quite small but actually i see it as positive thing, because it helps to catch a feeling like you are at some friends of a friend place. Not too loud or quiet.. just ideal place where to meet old mate.

The bartender was high and couldn't tell the time when the place closed, first she said that it will be at 1:30 a.m. Later she said that she will close in 15 minutes at around 23 p.m. And that happened twice, cause she couldn't even tell what time is it. The basement was also super dirty so overall disappointed, as well as the drinks were very mid

Breathtaking Views & Amazing Cocktails! Located on the 26th floor of a hotel, this place offers incredible panoramic views of Riga. The service is friendly and professional, and the cocktails are not only delicious but also beautifully presented. A perfect spot for a sunset drink or a special evening out. Highly recommended! 🍸🌆✨

Skyline offered views that easily justified one visit, with a wide panorama across Riga that looked especially sharp at night when the city lights were out. Beyond the view, the experience was much less impressive. The bar felt dated in its layout and atmosphere, with very little energy in the room. On the evening I visited, it was quiet to the point of feeling empty, which took away the buzz you expect from a rooftop venue. Drinks were competent. Service was polite & nice. The bar gave the impression of having had better days in the past but now being a space that people go to once for the view rather than as a place to spend the evening. It was fine for the outlook, though the experience itself was flat.

Great bar to have a drink and a bite while you look at the Riga landscape (or sunset if you catch it). The bar is fancy but not extremely. Prices are reasonable given the kinda exclusive view you are offered and the quality of the food/cocktails. Even the elevator has a great view. Cheers.

I just came for a drink. The place is located within the Raddison hotel, just take the lift to the 26th floor. You can choose where to sit and a waitress comes to take your order. Variety of cocktails which were nice. Yes it’s pricier than other places but you’re paying premium for the lovely views and cute ambiance. I recommend to sit on the left hand side when you enter the bar for better views at night.

A modern, stylish and welcoming space, with fast service, cleanliness and prices, but especially with a stunning panoramic view of Riga, this place has almost everything one could wish for. Skyline Bar is worth a visit.

The view from the highest floor of The hotel is amazing thats on the top of exotic drinks and asian style food. I have loved everything Pretty waitress 🥰

These peeps can make a cocktail. Top notch. The view is very good. You can walk around to get a 360. I should have gone back for the evening lights. Went at dusk and sat with the sun beaming down on me. You don't need to spend more than an hour up there but it's a great view and worth doing.

Great selection of beers, we've especially liked Hopalaa, Malduguns and Viedi beers. Friendly service. They do not serve food but you can order pizza from the opposite side of the street and eat it in the pub. They also sell beer for takeout. Popular place!

Best craft beer bar in Riga. Good selection of local craft and great staff with a realy easy going atmosphere. The patrons are true beer lovers.

I'm going to state first off that I'm giving an extra star because of the superb smoothie fruit sour beer range in the fridges here! Yes, it's an unusual place, ostensibly in a traditional wooden building but, to foreign visitors, all a bit "log cabin" or dacha-like with it's wooden walls and tables, and the beers on tap are okay without being that exciting... but the fridges are full of wondrous fruit sour beers from Arpus and Odu, both champions of the field, and we happily had two rounds of beers and could easily have stayed for more if we'd not a big list of other places to go! So, go anyway as it's a very different place with the wooden vibe going on, but it's elevated to hero status, craft beer-wise, by the contents of the fridges.

Lots of local beers. stylish, local and quite place. nice music. next to here thare is a kebap house, you can buy your food from there and eat it with your drink. prices are good, draft beers are perfect. location is perfect.

Great selection of draft beers, what you can also take away in 1l bottles. You can enjoy local cider and stronger drinks too. Bartender will help you to find beer, what will fit your taste. Good place where to come and watch sports. 1 star less, because of poor snacking options. In summer time you can enjoy beer in terrace.

Good atmosphere, ample choice of beverages, kind and communicative staff. Also food is being served, but I didn't try that out. Interesting and non-mainstream event calendar (exhibitions, concerts, dj-nights...). Worth a visit !

The food was quite good and the place had a really interesting atmosphere. It seemed a bit hipster.

Visited on techno event. Tickets weren't cheap, but liked the music. They have improved and extended now to multiple dance floor buildings. Best to come in company of friends

The food was good but for us the option of a simple bread was missing (there was a big selection of cheese and meat and at that point having some bread with it would have been nice).

Love this place for being always welcoming, warm and cozy, for the staff being happy to help and talk to you, for the delicious beers and wonderful owner. My favorite place to hide from people and rush with a glass of delicious beer or have a nice conversation with my friend. Dog and people friendly place!

Cozy atmosphere with great American music. I feel like I’m traveling in the States while being right in the center of Riga :) Beer choice is not large but those are some good hand-picked craft beers.

Been here about 5 times now, basically every time I visit Riga. In review: Great foreign craft beer selection, nice atmosphere, attentive staff but dirty washrooms (seriously the only thing they don’t do well).

This place is great! Friendly staff, great beer selection, and excellent live music. A must see in Riga. The bar has several taps, and right next door is a beer shop run by the same people that has literally 100's of different bottled beers, specializing in craft brewers from around the region. They even had beers from my hometown in Portland, Oregon!

Great selection of crafts on the tap, coziness levels could probably be improved with some more convenient furniture :) Overall, one of the few _real_ craft beer places in Riga, if you're into fancy beers, this is a must-visit.

The bottle shop had a huge selection of foreign beers. The newly opened bar next door had a few beers on tap with good variation of styles. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

What a great bar experience totally unlike any other. The soundtrack was great. The barman took time to bring us an ever increasing in size array of guns. Each time, he gave us some details about the weapons, and this was followed with time to handle each gun and take plenty of pictures. I didn't get the barmans, name but he was very knowledgeable about all the guns. Beer was great, and we had a great night here. I would have happily paid for this experience. Totally recommend a visit here if in Riga.

We had been recommend this bar by some friends who had visited Riga last year and it did not disappoint. We came in and the bar was lively and in full flow, the bar has a good selection of drinks with an easy to read tv for the beer selections and then menu for cocktails. The owners Normunds, was attentive and quickly and expertly made the drinks and offered some humour to go with it. The main attraction is all the decommissioned weapons prominently displayed, after a quick safety chat from the other bartender, Emmanuel (equally as engaging and as funny) including rules about keeping the guns in the group you are in, the fun begins. All you need is a fun energy and simple human politeness, ask and don’t assume or grab and listen to the guys. PLEASE take the 1 star reviews with a massive pinch of salt, people clearly have got confused or feel they didn’t get enough attention. I and the group I was with can fully say you have a good time, I also suggest the Molotov Cocktail, never had butterscotch but Normunds made it so well ! If I am ever back in Riga, I will come back.

Had a wonderful night with my friend in this spectacular bar. Guns are fun and so, but when the greatest bartender of all time- Maks started to educate us on them, I was more than amazed- he knows all about them. Perfect drinks & atmosphere! Highly recommended

Super cool and interesting bar. They actually let you hold the guns (all are fully inoperable). Staff are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly.

Exellent bar, with a little twist: there are weapons. Lots of them. Deactivated, ofcourse. Funny staff, good selection of beers. Can be crowded, so I suggest to go there right when bar opens.

Great bar in Riga 🇱🇻 Highly recommend going and going on a weekday rather than a busy weekend. We were from Lithuania/UK visiting on a random Tuesday and we’ve all had the best time ever! Insanely knowledgeable and friendly guy.

Best craft beer selection in Latvia. All local breweries, at least 5 draught beers, and also good selection of craft beers from EE, PL, UK, and few more countries. Local craft wines and still liquors available as well. New brews are always highlighted, and staff is welcoming and helpful. Top place in Rīga, for craft beer seekers. Cheers!

My fav craft beer spot in Riga as of 2025. Great selection. Call back to Beerfox/Callous Alus vibes. Sparse seating, 6-8 people max. Best restroom soap though.

really nice beer shop with a HUGE amount of different beers! you‘ll definitely find what your looking for here. Also they have 6 diffrent taps with local brewed beer which you can drink there. And ofc the staff is really good aswell!

A great selection of Latvian enx import craft beers. The prices are also acceptable. The service could have been a bit nicer but otherwise a good place. And they also have a few beers on tap to enjoy them in the bar.

Unfortunately, their well-decorated, but quite overpriced & thin-looking Bloody Mary tasted awful. Imagine a half glass tomato juice mixed with a half glass of pickle juice. Even the mixed in horse-radish didn't help the taste. Whoever thought that it's a great tasting recipe, has made an abomination of a cocktail.

Stopped for a coffee while shopping at the market. I would have given 4 or even 5 stars if not for a female bartender attitude ( Friday lunch time). Indifferent to clients ( if not rude), free floating long hair all over the drinks she is serving. If not for a polite and professional male bartender, I would have given one star for everything. She has totally ruined the day that had started as a great first time experience with this unique market. Will choose a different venue for coffee or drinks next time we are here

When we ordered a coffee, a girl dashed a cup of coffee with an attitude showing her unwillingness to serve us so that coffee spilled out of the cup . Just because we have spoken Russian language. What a shame nice location and a dreadful service, luckily you can choose from who you want to buy your coffee at this Agenskalns market location!

Bartender with sunglasses had a bitchy attitude from the first moment I got there. Coffee tastes burned. I would not recommend.

If you like great food at a reasonable price, the central market is waiting for you. SO MUCH FOOD! Everything was fresh and was as alluring to the nose as it was to the palate. So much variety, you will hardly know where to start. It's even fun if you're not hungry... just walk around and take it all in. Definitely recommend!

The best open market I’ve ever visited. Traditional meeting the modern in a wonderful mix. Vegetables, fruits, nuts fish, poultry, beef, clothes and lot of other things. I will be back.

I visited Riga Central Market, and it was such a vibrant experience. The market is huge and full of life you can find just about everything here, from fresh flowers and local foods to meats, cheeses, spices, and handmade goods. It’s a great place to discover authentic Latvian flavors and everyday life. The market is set inside historic old Zeppelin hangars, which gives it a unique and impressive atmosphere. Each pavilion specializes in different products, making it easy to explore and sample a wide variety of items. I especially enjoyed seeing the fresh produce stands and traditional Latvian treats. It’s not just a place to shop—it’s also a cultural experience, perfect for walking around, tasting, and soaking in the local vibe. Nice and quick lunch spot in the gastronomy market they have different restaurants where you can have local food and buy local cheeses and souvenirs. A nice quick stop in the city. Haven’t take any picture of the dumplings but they were very good.

Great place to sample the local food. There are plenty of fruit and veg stalls, flower stalls and clothing stalls as well as a food market inside. They sell all the traditional dishes for extremely reasonable prices so a great way to eat like the locals. It’s a vibrant, buzzing area that’s definitely worth a visit.

A very wide assortment of articles on offer in the five former zeppelin hangars and at stall outside. Numerous local specialities at sensible prices. The fish names were especially confusing. Just a short walk from the train station and bus stops.

Really big market with so much variety. There are different halls dedicated to different types of goods (the meat hall, the fish hall, etc). There's a hall that has eateries, and there are other retain shops throughout. Outside there are fresh fruits and vegetables as well as flowers. Definitely a must visit location for anyone visiting Riga.

Probably a bit touristy but that's the old town for ya. Was fun to try the different balsams on offer in a dark, quirky but fun atmosphere. Definitely should have tried the chocolates but that will be for next time. Just a fun little experience even if it's catered towards tourists.

Gorgeous building with incredibly detailed interior architecture filled with the warmth of candles, old timber, brass, cast iron, artisan chocolates, locally made drinks and friendly staff. OVERALL: Highly recommend. I went back a few times and strongly suggest it as a great tucked away place where you can hear and hold conversations with larger groups of friends/family... Easily seating 10+ or couples or even as a unique business meeting environment.

Visited in Sep 2025 The Black Magic bar in old town is the most popular bar in Riga due to its menu full of items made using Riga Black Balsam. They have a full cocktail menu where Balsam is one of the ingredients in the drinks, and also have food items where Balsam is a component. We ordered a couple of cocktails (the Black Mojito and the Fresh Black Cranberry) both of which were good. Also ordered a few chocolate truffles which I would also recommend ordering, as they were fantastic. However, if you want to buy bottles of Balsam, you’re better off buying it from a supermart (Rimi) then here because the prices are cheaper in the supermart. Service was fine. We did not have a reservation and did a walk in, and were able to get a seat immediately. But this place can get a bit crowded, and therefore visiting during peak hours may be better with a reservation. Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to the Black Magic Bar when you’re in Riga for trying a few cocktails.

This place looks amazing inside, and the atmosphere gets even better with the candlelight. I went in to make a short break from exploring the city and it was an experience in itself. I really enjoyed sitting and relaxing here for a bit. The only downside is that the truffles did not meet my expectations, so I would suggest skipping them altogether and just enjoying a cup of coffe.

By chance, we landed here and were actually offered two vegan options for chocolate! The service was very nice and warm, and their historical outfits were top-notch! The interior design is great and it's very quiet, which is really good after a long discovery tour downtown. We really enjoyed it, thank you!

This place is themed and a tourist hotspot, but it is done well, and the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is celebratory. They specialise in sweet treats and the local drink Balsam - try the cherry before the classic to ease you in. Can't recommend enough, real candles, a wonderful aesthetic and friendly welcome - what more could you want. Plenty of seats inside and through the back.

Came in for a quick bite to eat before heading out to see some sites around the city. Sat in the beer garden which had plenty of seats available and had sports showing on the TVs and music playing as background noise. Good selection of drinks, only had one though as a hair of the dog! Food was excellent though. I had the BBQ platter which had chicken wings, ribs, and a kebab, all of which melted in my mouth. It came with a salad too but I was full enough from the meat. The price was pretty reasonable for what you get too.

I ordered a gin and tonic but was given a sweet cocktail instead. When I pointed it out, the staff corrected the order, but not without making me feel uncomfortable about it. I appreciated getting the right drink in the end, but the service felt unwelcoming. Would think twice before coming back..

This place might serve Guinness and call itself an Irish pub, but it didn’t feel like one. It lacked the warm, familiar atmosphere I associate with a proper pub. The staff were young and not very friendly, and the overall vibe was more like a generic bar than a welcoming pub. What really unsettled me was being approached by an older man who barely spoke any English(only Russian) and who made me feel very uncomfortable and even started to touch me. No one behind the bar stepped in or even seemed to notice. That’s exactly what I don’t expect from an Irish pub. One of the reasons I usually choose to go to a pub like this, even alone, is because I trust that it’ll be a safe and relaxed environment. Unfortunately, this one failed on that front. Thankfully, a girl nearby pretended to be my best friend and helped me out of the situation. After that, I quickly finished my drink and left. The whole experience felt unpleasant and unsafe. It’s a shame. A proper Irish pub should make everyone feel welcome and secure. This one didn’t.

Was walking by and thought it looked like a nice bar and waited at the bar for ages and the staff just ignored me then I asked if I could get a drink and they said no I have to order at my table very rudely, once I ordered my drink when they brought it over just put it on the table didn’t say anything and walked away. Rude staff ruins the place. The bar was so dirty and sticky and you can tell it’s not looked after. Would never go again. STAY AWAY!

Paddy Whelans Irish Pub is a fantastic spot for an authentic Irish experience. Their delicious oysters are a standout, and the extensive beer selection has something for everyone. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making your visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for great food, drinks, and atmosphere! :)

I assume its great for some beers if you are already drunk and dont mind an old and overused enviroment with waiters who are too young to understand everything yet (shy, dont know how to answer questions, uninterested and slow). The wc is horrible. The food looks better than it tastes (ok, its a bar, i get it). And yes. Thats a chicken salad in the picture 😂 without salad almost. Overall for beers ok. For eating and chilling its just not the right place! And the best, im asking whats in business lunch included as a drink. He tells me a juice. I take the juice, and so do all our colleagues - and we had to pay for that 😂 and it was some weird water with jam in it? Mors or something like that. Great to pay for something that was told to be free. No thank you again.

We were there with a work group to celebrate after the office hours. It was a good experience. We booked a table at a separate room, but at that time (Wednesday 5-8) it was anyway not crowded, so we could talk, have a few beers and eat some snacks. I tried the tasting of 5 beers and liked it very much.

I spent about a week exploring Riga, and out of all the incredible places I visited, this one was by far my absolute favorite. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of character, exactly the kind of spot that makes you feel like you've discovered something special. The food was outstanding, creative, flavorful, and clearly made with a lot of thought and care. Every dish I tried had a unique twist that set it apart from the typical fare you find elsewhere. It felt like a true culinary experience rather than just a meal. The beer selection was equally impressive. Whether you're into craft brews or more traditional varieties, there’s something here that will absolutely hit the spot. The flavors were bold, fresh, and perfectly matched with the food. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the vibe-relaxed yet lively, with great music, friendly staff, and a genuine sense of pride in what they do. It’s the kind of place you could easily spend hours in, whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a long evening with friends. I honestly can’t wait to return to Riga just to come back here. It was a highlight of my trip, and it’ll be at the top of my list the next time I’m in town.

This is almost like a sportsbar or even nightclub. And that it is on weekend nights, I assume, but now was a quiet Sunday night and yet the pop music was blasting at an uncomfortable volume. I wanted to grab dinner here, but after waiting for waitress for a while, lost my appetite due to the atmosphere. Also, the prices are a bit upscale (16€ for ribs or burger). Maybe the food is good, and beer, but I really didn't like the vibe here. The place was cool though.

After watching a free classical music concert at St Peter's Church we walked up to the Stargorod Czech Brewery and restaurant by the Daugavu River, to sample their beers with some food. The brewery brews 5 distinct beers: 3 Classic Czech Beers: Desiatka: A classic Czech beer, like a light lager. Lager: A general term for a bottom-fermented beer, often a pale lager. Black beer: A dark, often roasted, beer. 2 Special Latvian Beers: Dzintara Stricka: A special beer brewed with a traditional Latvian recipe. Sentevu Dizalus: Another special beer brewed with a traditional Latvian recipe. My wife tried a sample of the 3 classic Czech beers - 3x 0.3l glasses of each of the different beers. The light larger tasted quite bland & easily forgettable like most of the largers in England, the larger had a bit more flavour and was very light & refreshing. I liked the black beer with its roasted, caramel favours but my wife didn't. I ordered a 0.5l glass of the Latvian Kviešu Alus (Blonde) beer, which was full of flavour, whucht and we both liked - we went on to share 2x more glasses of it with our food My wife ordered the grilled chicken kebab served with pickled red onions, vegetables and 3 types of sauces with a side order of French fries. I had the Pekach (beef fillet pieces with vegetables, cooked in a sweet & sour sauce, served with boiled rice). We also ordered a snack plate of fried squid rings & tortilla chips with a garlic cheese mayonnaise sauce after we finished our main courses to soak up the beer we still had in our glasses. The food was tasty and good value for money and we really enjoyed the Latvian Kviešu Alus (Blonde) beer.

Loved this iconic brewery. A little quiet when we went on a freezing cold Thursday but I hear it gets crazy later and in summer. The lager is great, as are the Munich sausages. Definitely try the 5 beer tasting selection to get a full idea of their range. The bread in cheese sauce is bad for your heart but great for your belly in winter! Would definitely go back for live music in summer!

Friendly staff and excellent food. Shout-out to the absolute legend of a waiter who translated the beer menu for us into English and referred to their light (3.5%) beer as "driving beer". Being quite sensitive to smoke myself, I'm very glad that the outdoor seating area was divided into a smoking and "no smoking" area. In a country with as many smokers as Latvia, where I often need to avoid outdoor seating areas, this was a very pleasant detail. Visiting a is definitely a must if you like craft beer and good food!

Really fun place. Great beer selection, the menu has loads to choose from. If you want traditional food, or something a bit old style then this is the perfect place. Basically if you are hungry, and would appreciate a good night in a good local pub then this is the place for you. Live band, dancing, heavy iron tables and chairs for a reason no doubt :) I would return here

Easy Beer isn't just a smart concept. They follow through in all the details. Great atmosphere, good food, tasteful decoration and a staff that isn't in your face but do their job with haste. The selection of beer is of good range. Make sure you try the local beer Space Fuel.

The food in the restaurant is of highest quality. I tried pork knuckle and mussel. They were for sure the bests of these dish I have ever tried. The meat was tender and well prepared and the mussels were in a tasty buttery sauce served with sweet potato fries. In arrival you get card for beer or wine and you can just use that card to fill your glasses of beer or wine and pay the whole cost when leaving. A very clean place and kind employees who can fluently speak English. I will absolutely remember this place and will come again for meals. Update: after a second visit to the place, I do not recommend the steak here. It’s such a pity, the quality of the steak was disappointing, impossible to chew with some parts similar to tendons. I had such a great experience trying the previous dishes that I won’t reduce my 5star but I absolutely don’t recommend the steak here.

Interesting concept. Upon request they’ll give you a 20 Euro swipe card. Tap the card at each beer tap, each beer offering is clearly priced per 100ml. As far as I could see the the cheapest lager is .65euro per 100ml. Guinness is priced at 1.05euro per 100ml, this makes it possible to sample so many different beers, very cool. The beer glasses are spotlessly clean, happy days.

This is an interewting plave. I like the idea of pouring my own beer and having a large selection. It was cool to be independent and not have to wait in a line. The only reason for the 4 stars is because the place seems to be expensive and you're paying for the idea. You aren't really paying the bartender just the idea. It's cool and I enjoyed it but I wouldn't go back.

An excellent place to try lots of different whiskeys, beers and wines without spending a ridiculous amount of money - and you pour them yourself! Great glassware too. Friendly staff.

One of the best places I've been to in a while. Walking down the street you would easily overlook this place but there is loads of room inside. Beer is self service, you pay by the ml and draft your own beer (or wine, or whisky). Food is amazing, the snack platter is actualy a bit to big for two but really good. The burrito pulled pork is great. The pork is soft and juicy and good seasoned. Girlfriend had the quesedias which where also great. Staff was friendly and everthing looked realy modern and clean.

I really love the concept of easy wine and easy beer. We first went to see the easy wine bar and liked that we can choose to many different options. (See my other review) however the beer version was a bit disappointing, since there were just a few beers to choose from. It it's probably not profitable to have so many different beers on tap, since it goes bad. I was missing a stout, dark beer option amongst all the IPA. The outside bench is very hard to sit on and after a while you feel your back. it I as fun to sit outside and watch the busy street and people walking by.

Don’t miss to try this hidden gems in Latvia. I tried the Mix Tasting of gin and rum and was a blast. Girls explain super well the taste of each one and you can see where everything is made. Good music and environment!

I went here as recommended by one of the locals. I ordered the Rum Tasting and it was good if you like rum. Unfortunately, the girls behind the bar weren’t as friendly and a bit rude, which changed the experience. I think the company should consider improving the customer service.

Fantastic local distillery! Delicious pub food, great service and delicious gin! Had the range of gin, some straight, some on the rocks and some in classic cocktails. Cocktails had a balanced, full body taste with juniper and pine on the finish. Located in the heart of old town it’s a must for any weekend visitor or local.

Did not rate food because the barely have any, just some olives and other bar snack things I haven't tried. Very cool bar, the cocktails are €9 or so, but beautifully executed and so so tasty!

Very good cocktails for all tastes. Unfortunately not many options for food, so I’d recommend eating somewhere else first and then going there. You can also buy bottles of handcrafted stuff (mainly gin and rum). I bought some quince gin and cranberry rum, they are great!

Alice and Eliza are amazing. They make the bar feel like home. Amazing drinks and amazing personalities. I'm sad to leave because no bar will ever meet the same standard.

We found our way here on a Monday night when there were no other customers around. We tried lots of different beers, both flights and full pints. The choice of beers on tap were a bit all over the place, but there were definitely some gems to be had. The staff was very friendly and catered to our group's music requests - all in all a very good time on a slow night!

This is a cool little craft beer bar. They have a good selection and we chose to have a flight. The beers were good. They only have a small outside seating section, but more tables indoors and the music was cool.

Went here for a random beer after finding it on untapped during my walk by the river. Stayed for hours drinking good beer and speaking with other travellers that also happened to stop here for a (many) beers. Good craft beer, good staff, good customers.

Lovely experience. If you like to try some latvian craft beers this is to place to be. We had two ”tasting platter” and couple of pilsners on the tap. Staff was very helpful, welcoming and attentive. All in all very good and plesant place to try new beers from latvia. Would visit again.

We had an amazing night at Vincents in Riga. Absolutely worth it. This place could easily have one Michelin star, but compared to Danish or Catalonian Michelin-restaurants, Vincent is half price. Great food, wine and service. I'll have to come back some day.

Our experience at Vincents was amazing. We had their signature menu, and enjoyed lovely and surprising food and wine. Considering the long menu, there were only minor things to comment on the food. Additionally the staff and their hospitality was exceptional and one of the best I have meet at a restaurant, as they included fun stories, great introductions and smiles when serving our courses.

This is the best restaurant in Rīga by far. The food was so good, well balanced and so much fun they had with the food. If Michelin was a thing in the Baltic this food and service is worthy. If you have the time, money its a no brainier. Go to this beautiful place.

Fine dining all the way to the prices. It was a solid experience but the quality and innovation cannot really justify the price. I’m giving 4 stars for the visit but I wouldn’t recommend to a friend. You get same or better with lower prices in other restaurants.

As a bit of a birthday treat booked into the #1 rated restaurant in Riga. Went for the tasting menu for which i had very high expectations... the food was just OKAY in my opinion. Tasty, carefully selected ingredients and beautifully presented. But it's food and taste is king...besides the scallops (and my pink madame cocktail) the food here didn't excite my palate. The ends of my pork was chewy/slighy tough, the languistine was meh...And the tasting menu IMO is NOT good value for money fine dining or not. I very much doubt the top chef was in the kitchen 13th of November. Good service and nice ambience...but i had more exciting/delish food at Petergailis the next day for a fraction of the cost.

A cozy place in Old Riga for a Belgian beer and good food. The scallops were absolutely fresh and delicious. I would have given 5 stars for the service but ... I had to talk the waiter into being friendly and vivid. The beginning was not so pleasant. But when the ice melted it all went perfect.

I like this restaurant, in heart of Riga. A lot of varieties of Belgian beers, tasty food and polite, fast service. Interesting interior. Recommend to visit.

Really delicious food. We ate two different tiger prawns for starter and mussels for main dish. Mussfld were so big that was enough for two of us. For dessert we take Belgian waffles and creme brulee. These were really good. Serving was little poor, but it didn't matter for us. The sekection of beers was big!

Food and atmosphere was great, we were starving and food was served quickly. The communication with staffs just left me ponder whether it was professional or unfriendly 😅 Generally it was still a good experience

I fancied about light lunch and I got it! I had salad with mango, cucumber, smoked salmon and grilled shrimps in creamy sauce and Lindemans peach fruity beer and it was match made in heaven! Fresh, but creamy salad and light fresh fruity beer. I do recommend this combination!

Caters well to vegetarians and vegans. Enjoyed a nice meal here. The rigas black balsam I would recommend trying although I cannot promise that it tastes nice. The curry was decent however complared to an authentic curry it lacked flavour a little. Still a nice meal.

Authentic Indian cuisine in the heart of Riga Old town. Everything we ordered was very tasty and we got our order fast enough. Huge menu and you definitely can find something suitable for you. I could say that the prices are good, especially for the Old town. Recommended! We plan to visit Indian Raja in future to taste other menu items.

Good Indian food in the centre of Riga old town. Staff very friendly and good service. Food was delicious and good value. We didn't need to make a reservation but did anyway. Would return if in the area again!

Wonderfully calm atmosphere, kind service and delicious food. We had the Palak Paneer as well as the Paneer Pasanda, both of which were really delicious. We had never tried Paneer Pasanda before and were really impressed with these delicious little "sandwiches". Like most Indian places, Raja is also a fabulous for vegetarians. Edit: It was so great, we went twice in our four-night stay!

During our last summer visit in Aug 2024, we had lunch here while roaming in the old town. Cathedral is very near by. Food was average tasting but prices are reasonable as well. We were served very professionally and with huge respect. They do not have much Hala items. Thanks!

The perfect place to hang out with friends and enjoy good drinks and food! No matter if you like ciders or cocktails, the drinks are full of flavour! The atmosphere is relaxing and positive, perfect after a long week! And to people who like good sauce with their food, definitely the right place to eat!

A nice cozy place with great food and live music. Staff is super friendly. We have tried different dishes and didn’t leave any disappointment. Keep in mind, burger portions are quite big and filling. Craft Beers worth trying especially cider beers BUT try a sample before ordering a glass. Trust me , u May not like all the flavors of cider beers. If you go over weekends, after 9 pm there might be a live music. Not much options for group sitting, better go for a reservation for big groups.

Nice bar with plenty of rooms and a terrace. Very friendly staff, live music events. Update I tried their pulled pork hamburger (they have their own oven, firewood oven if I'm not wrong, and they cook 12 hours their pulled pork) and so the hamburger was the best pulled pork hamburger I have tried in Latvia, and Im comparing this vs a place called "Munch" or something like that which is rated something like #13 in Europe, but Ciderijas pulled pork burger takes first place, I have tried pulled pork from another places but well, worthless to mention their names due to poor quality. Pizza, rustic style, very slim and tasty pizza dough but just a bit more of cheese would have been nice. I tried a pizza with shrimps which it came with very nice size and portion of shrimps. And the Diabolo, Diaboleto, something like that. Thank you guys for the great food and friendly service, please keep the place clean from dogs. Not everybody loves having a smoker next to, so as well some people isn't glad to have dogs next to and especially in a cafe. Thanks ))

I found myself in Riga, Latvia and in need of food and drink after a long drive. Although crowded, we were able to find a table at Sidrērija. They offered a nice selection of local wines, beer, and ciders. I had a yummy burger and enjoyed this place very much.

I and my friends had dinner and it was perfect! We had a burgers and a pizza. I have had a triple cheeseburger and I just can't remember when I had a better cheeseburger in a long time! The staff was very friendly and I can only say a big thank you for all the experience!

We enjoyed our food here. The drinks were lovely. They have gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options clearly marked on the menu which is good. The service wasnt great but there was only 1 barman and 1 girl working the whole restaurant/bar area for food and drink. It would have been 5 stars if they could have taken the order/cleared then plates quicker.

We had very good time at the trompete. The food was delicious as were the drinks. The have a good selection of local draft and craft beers. Very friendly and competent staff. The highlight was probably the live music 👍 Definitive recommendation!

An incredible culinary experience! I been there during a business trip, for lunch, and I decided to try 7 dishes + 7 wines menu. Every dish is a symphony of tastes, colours and perfumes, with a dedicated wine. The waiter kindly explain you every dish, and sometimes he finalize it directly. A must to try place if you are in Riga.

Authentic, modern Latvian cuisine. Pleasure for our taste buds and many new flavors on our palette. Tasting menu was not yet available, however everything we wanted to try was available a la carte. Great memory, thank you!

Lovely atmosphere and very competent and friendly staff. Unfortunately the food didn’t meet our expectations, one of the starters was unbalanced, we barely could feel the taste of shrimp and both of the mains were served cold. The restaurant overall has good potential but for now I cannot recommend. Also quite overpriced.

3 Restorāns is a highly rated restaurant in old town of Rīga so we thought we would give it a go. It’s delicious with a lot of care put into each dish. The portion sizes are quite small so it’s a good idea to order some sides to pad out the dishes. It’s a bit pricey but still better quality for cheaper prices than home in Australia.

Came here by myself on a less busy Thursday. The vibe was really welcoming and staff are all friendly, wasn’t intimidated dining alone. I tried the tasting menu. Top notch ingredient and food quality. I tasted many interesting tastes that I’ve never tasted before. Awesome experience.

We spent a wonderful evening at Restaurant 3. Great food, nice ambience and good service. Everything was lovely and to our satisfaction. Amazing food. We came actually to go with the five or seven course menu, but ended up with the set menu. Good wine as well. Dinner delivered with the drama of natural elements fire & water thanks to the use of dry ice and wood smoke. The crammed interior and rusty service unfortunately needs to be tinkered for it to be on the same level as its competitors. The food was excellent, fine dining quality and great value for money.

Kvakinn is a fantastic find! It's a really nice, spacious restaurant that immediately feels welcoming. We went during lunchtime and were so impressed by the excellent value lunch offer. For just €7.50, we got soup, a main course, salad, and a drink! The food was tasty and the service was quick and friendly.

When I stayed in Riga end of October, I spent several evenings at this bar. They have a great choice of belgian beer and other drinks. The staff was open, friendly and helpful in advice about the beers. A great place to stay for drinks and dining.

A fantastic beer bar in the center of Riga! They have an impressive variety of Belgian beers, along with some great Latvian options. The snacks are incredibly tasty; we tried the pig's ears and the Belgian waffle with chicken, and both were delicious. The service was professional and friendly. Highly recommend this spot!

Unfortunately, had a disappointing experience in this bar, probably because also the expectations after reading the reviews were high. The food was not tasty - ordered a burger with fries and it was nothing special, the fries were not salted, there were only few pieces of fries and the cutlet in the burger was dry with some cartilage. The bill automatically included 10% tip - I always leave tips myself, but this was not very nice, what if I did not enjoy the service? The service itself was great though, the waitresses are very polite and smiley! Drinks were OK, but I don't think that I will visit this place again.

My girlfriend and I recently visited **Rock Café Pub** in Riga, and it was an absolute blast! From the moment we walked in, the gritty rock ‘n’ roll vibe grabbed us—walls plastered with band posters, neon lights, and memorabilia from legends like Metallica and AC/DC. The atmosphere was electric, with a killer playlist of rock classics that had us air-guitaring between bites. **Service** was top-notch. The staff were friendly, quick to seat us, and even recommended their signature cocktails. The bartender whipped up a mean **"High Voltage Mojito"** (a must-try!), and our server was patient as we debated the menu. **Food** surprised us in the best way. We split the **"Smoky BBQ Burger"**—juicy, flavorful, and piled high with crispy onions—and the loaded nachos, which were perfect for sharing. Portions were generous, and the prices felt fair for the quality. They even had solid vegetarian options, which my veggie-loving girlfriend appreciated.

Interesting place with lots of different rooms and lots of places to dance, sing karaoke and have drinks in the bars. You also can put your jackets away downstairs. Drinks were good too. Cider and cocktails we had were good.

This place has at least 2 identities.. During the day it's easy to get in and a good spot to eat outside on a relatively quiet street and to have a good choice of drinks and a fair selection of food. Garlic rye bread and blue cheese dip it's great beer food. During night time, expect to queue to get inside and the music is full on 💪🏻👍🏻 Service is good and nice food quality.

It's a mix of a pib and a clubhouse. Drinks are great, environment is awesome and the music is very well balanced. The only downside is the total absence of any food at all. Not even peanuts (perhaps) only after 22h. Overall is crowded, it has 5 or 6 different places with different music. The concept is unique. The only downside is really the food. It might be normal in some parts of Europe, but many others will enjoy a least a peanut

I was surprised to see that at 7PM place was empty and only after 8P it started crowding up. Ribs were nice and grilled vegetables, that came with it, were really nicely spiced. It is not a place to drink tea though, I have to say based on mint tea experience.

Lovely place for a relaxing dinner listening/watching music videos. The food is delicious and good value. The servers are very courteous and speak good English. A choice of rooms to eat in was welcome as we chose a comfortable room at the back.

Racist pub, they will see the skin color based on that only they give entry. Would suggest not to go there, go the nearby valhala pub. Fight against racism.

Really enjoyed my visit here. The service is very friendly and the coffee tastes great. They have a good vegetarian breakfast selection and also a nice choice of cakes. You can sit both inside and outside, and the modern interior makes it a cozy and stylish place to relax. A good spot whether you’re coming for breakfast or just for a coffee break. The porridge was ok, though it could have used a bit more fruit on top and was surprisingly firm to the bite for porridge. The avocado with egg was also fine, but not particularly overwhelming.

We're sitting at the airport, eating a Snickers bar that we didn't get to eat yesterday, and all we can manage to say with each bite is "boah" (the German equivalent of "I love that, thank you!"). Otherwise, we ate here three times: twice in the evening and once for breakfast. Every meal was a culinary dream, and we had everything vegan. The tapas are also highly recommended—they're delicious and so affordable! We truly enjoyed it!

Visited for breakfast and this place is a must-go in Riga!! Food was insanely delicious and service is top! Ordered the potato pancakes with chia caviar, and tofu salad for mains. Matcha latte for a drink, and a pistachio tart...which was heaven on the lips! Vegetarian place and these were all vegan options. Sat in the outside area as the weather was lovely.

Amazing food. After long deliberation i chose jackfruit 🌮 tacos..wow!! Side order of Nachos. My friend had mushroom burger and sweet potatoe fries...good choice all round..we took home a nutty 'snickers' bar' and a chocolate coconut bar...yum 🙌

visited for breakfast on our first day in Riga and glad we did. plenty of food options with allergens clearly listed which was helpful for me with a milk allergy. coffee and match a both high quality and delicious. staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very disappointing omelette, almost inedible from being so intensely greasy. Side salad was mostly frisee, which is good, yet makes for a very bare salad, especially with the cucumber sliced so thinly. Service was dull and sullen and I left with a queasy stomach. Grapefruit juice, at least, was fine. Was expecting much better from a place that touts being healthy.

Here you can find draft beers from Valmieramuiža and some other local brands as well. Here it's also a shop you can find many local craft beers in cans or in bottles, but i feel they are bit overpriced, except products of their home brand (Valmieramuiža).

We sat here one afternoon, had two beers, some grey peas from a nearby stall and enjoyed our time drinking and chatting with the bartender, Mix -probably spelled it wrongly, sorry! He was super friendly, and patiently entertained our questions and gave us recommendations on Latvian food 😊. We had the herbal amber ale (highly recommend - well-rounded and smooth) and saison (enjoyable, not as sour as other other saisons we have had, tasted closer to an IPA) and bought a couple of other interesting ones to take away. Herbal brews are their speciality and they do it so well. They have such a generous and interesting selection of beers on tap. A happy place to be.

Fantastic little micro brewery located in the suburbs of Riga, but definitely worth a visit as a tourist! Bar staff very friendly! Cheese pairings go perfectly with the beers.

We sat down at the counter while the bartender was busy chatting with other customers, the place seemed nice and the beers looked interesting.. We got ignored completely by the bartender, we stood up and looked at the tabs and sat closer to middle but it continued to be the case, as we didn't exist, continued chatting with customers two people who got after us were greeted and thier orders were taken. From our point of view being the only brown people in the crowed, it was just racist behaviour. Very disheartening encounter after few beautiful days in Riga.

If you like craft beers visit this stall at the central market. It's a sales point for the brewery which can also be found in Riga and also worth a trip. Here we were talked through each option by a really friendly and helpful member of staff. After sampling some of the options we chose a few and enjoyed them sat at the bar whailst people watching.

I had been here twice in two nights and will make it a third. They two bartenders had spoke English and were really nice. The food had been lovely including the dessert which I got as a surprise, cheese cake had been lovely and well presented. The environment was very calming and soothing, I had felt relaxed. The bartender had suggested a couple of drinks which I had tried and they were beautiful, one had been a shot with some cream, I had stayed till 10 and they had played some music on YouTube, very casual.

Local beer and juicy cheese burgers…delicious. So juicy they are served with gloves to save on napkins;-). Relaxed atmosphere and music.

Came here for early lunch. Unfortunately disappointed in my chicken dish (€15,50); it didn’t say the chicken would be mostly bones and no side dish included (like rice or fries etc.), so quite boring. Maybe you needed to order the side dish separately, but then the waitress should have at least asked. Madonas Beer on tap (€6,50) was good. The total was €22. Waitress had a nice attitude and I was served quickly (maybe because I was by then the sole guest), but my dishes weren’t picked up although the waitress passed by several times. I went to the counter to pay since the waitress was busy talking with some other person. To summarize: Don’t dine here, come only for beer and snacks (maybe should have read ”Lucky beer house” more literally). There are other places in Riga offering a better reasonably priced lunch and dinner experience.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated quickly. The menu had a great variety, and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The desserts were to die for especially Matcha Tiramisu . We’ll definitely be coming back!

Very overpriced, watered down sugar cocktails and service that didn’t really know what was going on. We ordered basic burgers and fries, and they simply collapsed apart. Asking for ketchup, they said “you already got sauce”. Overall, too good of a location to have even decent food. Good location.

This relaxed gathering place offers an extensive drink menu. Our group of 5 tried local beers, eldrrberry cider, and lemonade. We also brought our own snacks. Great outdoor setting with accessible tables, some in open air and some under a big umbrella. Indoor seating areas are comfy sofás and we found several people reading indoors so we sat outdoors. Nice evening and relaxed vibe. Great staff

Loved it. If you want a swanky cocktail bar don't go. If you want an artistic, community feel, very chilled, great craft beer, nice afternoon sun and music, go. And your are also supporting local arts by visiting. Sunday afternoon is good because there are some relaxed DJs playing. Don't forget to look up in the beer garden and see the enormous black lion. Super weird. It's not in the old town but do yourself a favor and get out of the old town and meet the people of Riga. They're nice. 😁

Very good pizza! We tried Italian stallion (a must try) and steak & pepper (the picture). Good balance in taste and topping and the corniccione is crispy on the outside with just enough charred bubbles and soft on the inside. Delicious! Friendly and relaxed service. Good selection of beer, both standard lager and modern IPA.

Best bar in my neighborhood! A lot of regulars here, which says a lot. Great beer, consistently good lunch, my go-to is the Caesar salad paired with a Song Cai Gin Sour. 👍 Super relaxed vibe, even the toilet is chill!

Friendly service, fantastic location on the corner, and if you get there at the right time you can bask in the sun with a cold beer. Food service or wait times, rather, were a little extreme, with the wait time for two salads quoted at an hour long wait. We chose not to order food. Perhaps it was just the timing or day of the week (Tuesday) but not sure…will definitely be going back; cocktails were good and beer even better.

Having a great service also in English is always something that thrills me in this city. Bāka's own crafted beer was tasty! And oh, the fries were perfect. The texture, spices and the dip was top notch!!

Update 2024: the clientele has somewhat changed due to big popularity of the bar and doesn't seem welcoming as it was before.
