Monserrate, a mountain located in the center of Bogota, is a popular destination for both pilgrims and tourists. At 3,152 meters high, it offers stunning panoramic views of the capital city. The mountain is home to the Sanctuary of Monserrate and features expansive gardens perfect for leisurely strolls. Additionally, visitors can enjoy dining at exclusive restaurants offering local and international cuisine.
Well maintained and provides incredible views over Bogota - you appreciate the size and the flatness of the city from above! We hiked up (around 1 hour and 1000+ steps) & hiked back down again. Free entrance. Well maintained paths with small shops on route selling drinks, fruits, foods. There is a market at the top selling lunches and coffee along with local products. It is a busy route. Be aware the route is closed on a Tuesday & the last ascent it 1pm - last descent is 4pm.

Liked the place, used aerial tramway while climbing up, awesome views, nice church, bit crowded though, due to it decided to walk down instead of waiting in the queue for tram. There are small shops available all the way down for snaks & drinks.
Balaji V — Google review
I highly recommend going in the morning and buying tickets in advance online. I went at 10:00 on a weekday, and saved about 20 minutes by skipping the ticket line. When I came down around 11:30, the lines were so long, even if you bought tickets in advance you would still be waiting. This is the only tourist attraction in Colombia I’ve done without vendors hassling the whole time. There is a barricade by the entrance, so once you cross it they’ll leave you alone. There are a handful on the hiking trail, but they are not aggressive at all. This can be a very spiritual experience. There was a church having mass when I went, are there is a Way of the Cross. If you are religious at all, I would encourage you to lean into it and use this time for reflection and worship. If not, you can definitely skip all of the religious stuff. It should go without saying, but it’s 3100m/10,000ft in elevation, so if you live at sea level, be prepared for a very strenuous walk. But there are restaurants and food vendors, so if you need to take a break and get some food or drink, you can.
Nick M — Google review
Highly recommend! Visited on a Saturday afternoon in October and barely had to wait. Took the tram up and the gondola down — I’d definitely suggest that combo. By the time we came down around 5 p.m., there was a long line for the gondola going up. I actually wish I’d planned to walk down; once at the top, I realized it would’ve been a beautiful route. There’s also a lovely church up there with several services throughout the day, very welcoming atmosphere.

Really enjoyed Monserrate. Cable car was fun and walking down trail took some time and our legs were certainly feeling it the next day. But it was a enjoyable long scenic trail. Make sure to buy advance tickets to avoid long lines. No need to worry about times since no one checks. Just have pre paid tickets. The only warning we can give is DO NOT under any circumstances eat at those small restaurants after local shops. We got terribly sick later in day. Yes, they have amazing views but the food not only made us sick but was horrible, and not fresh. ONLY eat at the 2 main restaurants to avoid any problems. You have been warned!
RDA — Google review
Sure the view is amazing and the area offers beautiful bird walks and a nice Cafe Santa Clara! But: 1) they close the stairs down at 4.15pm so you have to take one of the other options. 2) they close the funicular at the same time which means an hour in line on the weekend. Or... Go to Santa Clara and have a drink and watch birds until the line shrinks after 17:30.
Wouter B — Google review
Worth the drive, although you must pay attention to how the navigation takes you to the parking lot. The view is great, there’s also a bunch of places to get coffee and a bite.
Jesse S — Google review
Paid for our tickets quickly and waited about, probably less then 20 minutes to go up. I was very nervous about getting on the cable car but once you get in, honestly it's not bad, if anything The View helps. If you can only do two things and Bogota make sure this is one of them!

The Gold Museum, located in the historic city center of Bogota, is a contemporary structure that houses an extensive collection of pre-Columbian gold, ceramics, and stones. It is home to over 34 thousand pieces made of gold and tumbaga, showcasing the art and goldsmithing used by various indigenous communities in Colombia.
Much richer than expected. The museum offers a wide range of well-presented exhibits, with clear explanations through both the audio guide and display texts. I took a slow, thorough walk through and spent about 6 hours. Highlights: 1) gold and other metalworking techniques; 2) artifacts and decorations from different regions of Colombia; 3) offerings and their ritual significance. A deeply rewarding visit.

Great big museum in Bogota... Good location... One of the main things and attraction to see when you in this city and all Colombia ... The entrance is 5000 pezos, about 1euro...its cheap...Museum is on 3 floors..They are open every day except Monday until 6pm... There you can see all Colombian history... Also you can see some videos in few rooms... So much pieces of gold, neckles, rings, crowns..In the basement you can buy some unique things.. Sometimes it's very crowded... All recommendations for visit and enjoy if you are in Bogota

A wonderful place to visit to get an idea of aboriginal culture of gold making and their ingenuity and craftsmanship. Some pieces are so delicately made with in such small details that it is unbelievable how they could achieve this. You'll learn a lot about metal and gold craftsmanship and the beliefs and culture of the people who occupied the land before European colonization. In regards to accessibility, easy access for all with elevators and easy guide signs. Translation in English were available, and was possible to get audio guide. In August 2025, it was free on Sundays for attendance.

The Restaurant...thats all ill say! The museum is insightful to the norms of the areas and some insight to their industrious ways to create tools and jewelry. Also their awareness of surrounding or impeding cultures. But the Restaurant took the cake! Waitstaff was so nice and helpful. The runner for the food was so polite and considerate. Our waitress was sweet and on it! Again, the museum is dope but the Restaurant took the cake! And not the Cafe....the restaurant. Im not sure what the Cafe has because we never made it there. We had the salmon salad ( amazing greens choice and cooking style...roasted bits added depth and texture) and the pumpkin curry...just so frigging good ( roasted pumpkin rib like is was a salmon slab...curry with a wonderful balance of coconut cream and spices and the coconut rice was perfectly baked with coconut flavored and tiny fluffy pillows of savoriness)...and the tangerine juice...great museum! Definitely would stop pass!
Shalana U — Google review
This was an excellent museum. The entrance fee is also only 5000 pesos. Just the treasures that they had there were incredibly impressive. There should be a little more information about the dates of the pieces but I was also just happy to look at the items and be taken in by their magic. They also had an immersive experience that lit up a circular wall of jewelry. I got shivers thinking of all the people that the pieces belonged to. They also have a store were you can buy gold plated replicas of some of the jewelry. All in all a really beautiful place to visit.
Wpkhoman — Google review
Many pieces of arts and introduction, we don’t have much time to read every detail, I saw someone is using kind of earphone to listen to voice explanation, look good. But just don’t know where to rent? How many languages it has. Sunday is free to entrance, very worthy to visit.
Lily C — Google review
A nice quiet place, it's wonderful how history and indigenous stories have been told through gold. There is a nice restaurant in there as well.
Allan C — Google review
We visited this museum while exploring Bogotá. We visited during a weekend and there was a line in front of the building. It took about 10 minutes to get in. The entrance fee is quite low. The museum itself is quite big with multiple floors. Most information is in Spanish and English. When we visited it was quite busy and sometimes there were too many people to properly enjoy the collections. However, there were many impressive artefacts and we were glad we saw them to better understand Colombian history and culture. There is also a gift shop and a coffee shop in the basement. This is a perfect place to visit on a rainy day.

Plaza de Bolívar is a historic city center in Bogota, Colombia, surrounded by significant buildings and notable architecture. The area offers a mix of old and new, with the Plaza once being a stage for bullfights but now juxtaposed with modern structures like the Palace of Justice and Lievano Palace. Visitors can explore nearby attractions such as the Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and take part in graffiti tours led by individuals involved in the urban art scene.
This was my first time visiting Bolivar Square, and I was honestly blown away by how beautiful and lively the area is. The square is surrounded by stunning colonial architecture, including the grand Primatial Cathedral, the National Capitol building, and the Palace of Justice. Everywhere you look feels like a snapshot from a different era, full of rich history and culture. The atmosphere is vibrant yet laid-back. I spent a couple of hours just hanging out, people-watching, and enjoying the view. There are plenty of pigeons flying around, and while they might surprise you at first, it actually adds to the charm of the place. I found it peaceful just sitting there, watching the birds and soaking in the energy of the square. Around the edges of the square, you’ll find small flea market-style stalls selling antiques, crafts, and local goods. It’s a great place to browse for souvenirs or even just admire the handmade items. Some of the antiques and vintage finds were really interesting and felt like they had stories behind them. There are also several nice cafes and restaurants nearby, so it’s easy to take a break with a coffee or a snack while still enjoying the view. The mix of locals and tourists gives the area a welcoming, community vibe. Tips for tourists like me: - Visit during the daytime when everything is open and the square is at its liveliest. - Bring small cash if you want to buy from the flea market vendors. - Keep your belongings close, as it can get crowded. - Take time to explore the nearby streets. There’s more beautiful architecture and street art just a few blocks away. Overall, Bolivar Square was one of the highlights of my visit to Bogota. It’s beautiful, historical, and full of character. Whether you’re into history, architecture, shopping, or just want to relax and observe city life, this place has something for everyone.

1st time in Bogota. Had an AWESOME time. We were cautious with time restraints in the southern portion of the city..... We hired a driver for a few hours. It made the sightseeing more pleasurable.

Nice place. A little crowded and surrounded by street vendors but I suppose that part of the charming. A lot of pigeons too. Very important: Safe place… and beautiful museums near as well as very good restaurants (all prices)

The Plaza de Bolívar is an important historical and cultural spot in Bogotá. It’s interesting to see the grand buildings like the cathedral and the government palace all in one place. However, the square itself felt a bit chaotic and not very well maintained. There were quite a few pigeons and street vendors, which can take away a bit from the atmosphere. Still, it’s worth a short visit to get a sense of the city’s history – just don’t expect too much charm.
Raffael T — Google review
Very pretty the squared, it’s not weekend, but full of people, the near by streets also full with people and vendors. The building there is Colonial architectural style, very special and full of fun.
Lily C — Google review
Beautiful plaza in the heart of Bogota Colombia. Full of life color and especially pigeons. People sell food that you can use to feed the pigeons with. On one corner there's a cathedral that was closed the day we were there. Several streets go off and directions with tons of little shops. Plaza de armas is also nearby, an easy walk. A must see when coming to Bogota.
John S — Google review
Nice historical place to view and people watch. I went at a time there were more birds than people. Had a nice experience. Very safe
Nacho C — Google review
Too crowded. Too much unpleasant attention from locals towards tourists. Too many pigeons. Very dirty. Plaza de Bolívar is the beating heart of Bogotá’s history, surrounded by iconic landmarks: the neoclassical Primatial Cathedral, the elegant Liévano Palace (city hall), the National Capitol, and the Palace of Justice. The architecture is impressive, but the square itself feels overwhelmingly crowded—tourists, street vendors, and protesters all converge here, making it hard to fully appreciate the surroundings. Safety is a concern—armed police and military patrol constantly, which feels necessary but also reminds you to stay alert. The pigeons are relentless (if you stand still for 5 seconds, you’ll become a perch!). Worth a quick visit for the historic significance, but go early to avoid crowds, keep valuables secure, and maybe skip the bird feed sellers!

With 113 hectares of land, the park features walking and biking paths, playgrounds for kids, and several lakes where you can go boating. It has been a venue for numerous events and has hosted famous artists and even two popes.
This is the hosted site of a very cool music festival every year in BOGOTA. I love going to this festival and having a good time. It’s really easy to get together with your friends. It is a little sketchy in some places, but once you’re inside, the security is very good. Wonderful time and highly recommend recommendable.

Lovely place for a stroll, go jogging, go running or biking. I fortunately for birdwatching there are way too many dogs in the park. A lot of plastic waste from the food sold to feed the fish. Many things to make it more sustainable.

A beautiful park that is very big. Great for walking, biking, and skating. There is a lot of shade provided by great trees and a lovely water area with boats for rent.

The city central park It's a natural park with a extensive green field and a central lake. In parallel to this, the entrance is free and some internal attractions have costs. In one hand you might find several activities from collectives, institutions or just some individuals. However, you can stay aside of this. Finally, you can use bicycle, your feet or a vehicle two-wheeled. Be careful with your stuff, it's a public zone and it's not exclude from robbers.

The Maloka Interactive Museum in Bogotá is an interesting destination for anyone looking for a hands-on way to learn about science and technology. The building is an impressive architectural feat with a dome-shaped roof that houses the planetarium. The museum is divided into different sections, each with its own focus, such as the human body and energy. The planetarium is the museum's most popular attraction, offering a journey through the universe. What sets Maloka apart is the interactivity, with nearly every exhibit having a hands-on element. The museum is particularly popular with children. The staff are knowledgeable and there are events and workshops throughout the year. Overall, I would recommend a visit to Maloka Interactive Museum for anyone interested in science and technology.

It is an interactive site in which children can have contact with science. Several attractions such as: interplanetary systems, because earthquakes are generated, as paleontology has studied the marine animals that lived more than 500 million years ago, among others. With ample spaces looking for that each attraction can be visualized between several people. A map of the city of Bogota, which was made in recycling material, using 3D printers, adds to maloka the importance of being a museum unique in its nature.

Parque de la 93 is a popular outdoor destination in Bogota, offering green spaces, playgrounds, and benches for visitors to enjoy. It's a great spot for families to explore and play together. The park features attractive landscapes with large trees and plenty of seating areas for relaxation. Located in the northern end of Chapinero, it's known for its upscale atmosphere and modern amenities.
Parque de la 93 is a wonderful, safe place to visit, especially with kids. It’s a great spot for walking around with your family and feeling at ease. We were there in December during a festive event to kick off the holiday season, and the atmosphere was lively with lots of people celebrating together. The park is spacious, and kids can play while you sit back, relax, and even enjoy some drinks. There are plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area, making it a perfect spot to spend the day with your family. That said, it’s always good to stay aware, especially if you wander too far outside the park, as some corners may feel less secure. But as long as you stay within the park’s main area, it’s very safe and enjoyable. I highly recommend Parque de la 93 for families—great ambiance, lots of space, and a vibrant neighborhood. Definitely a must-visit!

Great park! Tables, seats amongst the flowers to play domino and bring your coffee. Kids playground and Dog play area. Beautiful giant palms. Safe, surrounded by restaurants and shopping. No ticket needed.

There’s always something going on at Parque de la 93 🌳☀️ This park may be small, but they really made the most out of it. There is lots of seating, both benches and little tables with chairs, and even the occasional coffee stand. You have a lovely view of the mountains and palm trees from one end of the park. There’s a playground for kids and all around the park, there are nice cafes, restaurants and bars. Since there are many companies nearby, it’s also a popular spot for people to take a break in the sun. The park has its own Instagram page where they share events, offer yoga classes and other sports activities. The space is often used for pop up stands, markets and different cultural activities. There’s a big shopping festival called Feria EVA that happens here. The whole space gets transformed into pink stalls with local artists and brands selling their clothes, jewelry, decor and more. They set up a stage with live music and have food stands around the area as well. So, as you can see, there’s always something to do or see at Parque de la 93.

It’s a peaceful green space in the middle of the bustling city, perfect for a relaxing stroll or just sitting down with a coffee and watching the world go by. The atmosphere is vibrant yet calm, and it feels very safe and welcoming.

Parque 93 in Bogotá is a hidden gem, offering a delightful blend of tranquility and vibrant energy. The park boasts a plethora of food choices, with standout options like Starbucks and local options, providing an exquisite culinary experience. From local flavors to international delights, there's a dish to satisfy every palate. The beauty of the scenery is truly captivating, creating a serene escape amidst the urban hustle. Lush greenery, well-maintained paths, and charming water features make it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing afternoon picnic. I particularly loved the amount, size, and greenery of the trees in this particular area. For those seeking a laid-back atmosphere, Parque 93 is a haven. The ascetic charm of the park, combined with the diverse food offerings, makes it an easy-going destination for locals and visitors alike. Whether you're a food enthusiast or someone craving a tranquil retreat, Parque 93 delivers a harmonious experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Stopped here after dinner to just walk around and definitely Safe to hang out at night as a single woman - there’s so many people out. There are play spaces for kids, but at night it’s gonna be a lot of teenagers/couple. With the surrounding cafés and restaurants in Parker great to just hang out and talk for a place of a space for greenery.

It’s a beautiful little park for kids... it has areas assigned by age group with signs, it also has security guards. The sand pit is great, along with the boat, and the climbing spider ball. Kids absolutely love this park! I wish they would close it off with small/short gate since it’s a very business oriented area and a lot of grown ups also like to hang out. The grassy area has a lot of events but it’s mostly for dogs and grown ups.

La Puerta Falsa Restaurant, a 200-year-old establishment located near Plaza de Bolivar, is a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. This cozy cafe has been frequented by well-known figures such as writers, actors, and ex-presidents. The menu features traditional Bogotano home-cooked meals including Ajiaco and Chocolate Completo.
It is the most famous place to have Sancochos and Tomales for a reason. It is claimed to be the oldest restaurant in Bogota to serve these culturally iconic dishes and it does not betray the expectations. Worth the wait and you will probably have to wait up to 30 minutes before you get in but I still highly recommend it. The staff is friendly and the place is cosy.
Simo C — Google review
What can I say… it was worth the wait! The food was delicious and the service was great, even though some people seemed to have their doubts :( The place is small, so a little patience is needed — but totally worth it. Great flavor!!! Highly recommended!
Art — Google review
I want to really give a shout out to the patient, friendly staff here. This place is so famous and so busy that it would be easy to be bored or irritable. But true to Colombian culture, everyone really treated me as an individual and wanted to make sure I got what I needed and had a positive experience. Wait time was around 15 min and then I was seated at the bar area. I ordered the classics, chocolate completo and the tamale. I’d describe it as good, solid comfort food (and generous portions). The tamale tasted very fresh and the chicken meat inside was still on the bone. My bill came to COL 28,000. Sat next to a woman from Bogotá who came for the tamale (an enthusiastic repeat customer) and loved the place for the food and the rich history, so it’s interesting to see that the appeal is not just for tourists.
Isaac L — Google review
Just stopped in to grab some dessert. Had the milk flan and the sweet curd. Both were good. The place fills up quickly and there are not a lot of places to sit…so get there early or be ready to wait. The service was quick.
Team T — Google review
After a city bike ride, a few of us ducked into this crowded institution — Colombia’s oldest restaurant, or so they say. Big queues, packed tables, no-frills service. You come here for tradition, not innovation. • The Chicken Soup: I’m not a soup guy, but this one? It had soul. Comforting. No bold spices, just warmth. • The Tamale: Possibly the best I’ve had in South America. Hearty, tender, wrapped in flavor. • Atmosphere: Noisy, rushed, authentic. Feels like grandma’s place, if your grandma ran a war-time kitchen. • Locals: Everywhere. Drinking coffee, tea, or grabbing a quick bite. • Scores: • Food: 8.5/10 • Atmosphere: 9/10 • Value: 7.5/10 • Worth it? Definitely — come early or wait long.
Nuwan A — Google review
This restaurant, one of the oldest in Bogota, is a must-visit for breakfast. Their tamal with hot chocolate is a must-try. For lunch, we had the Ajiaco, which was amazing. Their menu is authentic and delicious, and everything is worth trying. There’s limited seating, so there’s often a line, but tables rotate quickly, so you don’t have to wait too long. Definitely worth the wait.
Carolina B — Google review
What an unforgettable cultural experience! Located just steps away from Plaza Bolívar, El Palacio de Justicia, and La Catedral, La Puerta Falsa offers a true taste of Colombian tradition. The hot chocolate with cheese and fresh bread was absolutely delicious, comforting and rich with authentic flavor. The ajiaco was incredible, perfectly seasoned and hearty. From the warm service to the cozy, historic ambiance, everything felt like a step back in time. A must-visit spot for anyone wanting to savor the heart of Bogotá! 🇨🇴🍫🍲✨

Tamales were great! The chocolate con queso was not. They make it with water instead of milk so I would suggest you get that somewhere else. Besides that, it’s in a great location, in a very historic building and I loved the ambience. Extremely fast-paced and buzzing.

Casa de Nariño, also known as Palacio de Nariño, is the official residence and primary workplace of the President of Colombia. This historic building, constructed in the neoclassical style in the 17th century, stands as a symbol of the country's executive power. It holds significant historical value and offers guided tours by appointment.
If you go to the Plaza Bolívar you should totally go through the presidential house street which is the one that seems to be closed by a military police control barrier. They will make you a fast security check and let you pass without any trouble. This site offers a wide variety of attractions for children and adults, from go-carts to farm animal experiences. The site is quite far from the city so it is necessary to arrive by private transport or there is additional transport from the north portal. (Translated by Google) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This restaurant specializes in two dishes: beans and ajiaco. When I want a good ajiaco, this is my go-to place because they prepare it with respect for its essence. The ingredients are perfect: the chicken, corn, and avocado complement the dish perfectly, without unnecessary additions like carrots, which I've seen elsewhere. Plus, the prices are quite affordable. A small portion costs $20,000, but it's actually not that small, so the value is excellent. The only thing to keep in mind is the line, which can be up to 30 minutes during peak hours. However, if you arrive early, you can avoid the wait. Without a doubt, this is a place I always return to when I want a good ajiaco.

The museum boasts an impressive collection of pre-Columbian art showcasing the skill and creativity of indigenous peoples, as well as more recent works by renowned Colombian artists such as Fernando Botero and Alejandro Obregon.
I am partial to National Museums, I think they are all mostly great. This museum was equally as great. One small downside was the shortage of alternative languages, while I am somewhat confident reading Spanish, a little more in English wou serve well. No French language, nor any other alternatives. Can be solved using translation app. Cost 43,000COP

A true national museum in every sense. Its exhibitions span vast scales of time and geography. The texts on the walls are beautifully written: thoughtful, elegant, and never pretentious. They match the exhibits perfectly and are worth reading slowly. Each of the three floors has a clear theme, guiding you through different perspectives on life, society, and art. You could easily spend a whole day here and still find more to appreciate.

I absolutely loved my visit to the Bogotá Botanical Garden – it’s a beautiful, peaceful space, full of color, nature, and well-maintained paths. A perfect place to walk, relax, and learn about Colombia’s rich biodiversity. I particularly enjoyed the Tropicario, which is an impressive and carefully designed area. However, one small issue is that when the guides stop to give explanations, it often creates bottlenecks, making it hard for other visitors to pass through. It would be great if a better flow system could be implemented. I also stopped by the café, and the experience was completely satisfying – good service, pleasant atmosphere, and a nice way to end the visit.

Amazing to see a part of history, Bolivar lived in this house 423 days.. well maintained and easy to walk around. While their we had the pleasure of observing kids on a field trip, and their teacher was an excellent source of information so important for children to learn about history.

Wonderful (and free)! Right next to the base of Monserrate (good to pair both). Beautiful extensive gardens, and a duly preserved house filled with artifacts from Simon Bolivar’s life. If you like gardens and history then this is your stop. One of my favorite things I saw in Bogotá.

I visited on a Wednesday afternoon and got free admission. What an amazing museum! It was fairly quiet, only a few other people there. The rooms are beautifully preserved and restored, and you get a very good feeling for what it was during Bolivar's life. The labyrinth garden was incredible, fresh air beautiful plants, and breathtaking stonework. It takes about an hour to see everything at a moderate pace.

The botanical garden is beautiful and feels like walking through time. It’s hard to believe this is in the middle of Bogota. A serene escape.

Nice experience. The place is well preserved and there are people keeping the property and agriculture well kept. Walking distance from the main square and University. Nice garden and tours are available.

Catedral Primada de Colombia, located in the heart of Bogota's La Candelaria neighborhood, is a significant religious and historical site. Construction began in 1807 during Spanish rule and was completed after Colombia gained independence in 1823. The cathedral stands on the same grounds as the first church of Bogota, dating back to 1539.
A beautifully appointed church… simple yet elegant. Calm and inviting… a nice place for praying and introspection.
Dan S — Google review
Bogotá Cathedral—unlike many churches in Latin America—is not a colonial building, as the current church dates back to the 19th century. Designed in the Neoclassical style by Friar Domingo de Petrés, it features clean lines, balanced proportions, and a sense of grandeur that reflects the architectural trends of its time. As such, it boasts beautiful architecture and remarkable artwork, but in a distinct style compared to older churches in the region. Walking through it, you'll encounter intriguing pieces in the side chapels, each telling a different story. Pay special attention to the chapel behind the main altar, which houses a choir for the canonicos, adding to its ecclesiastical grandeur. This cathedral is not only the largest in Colombia but also the Primate Cathedral, a title granted by Pope Leo XIII in 1902. Originally, it stood as a humble mud-and-straw chapel, where Bogotá’s first Holy Mass was celebrated on August 6, 1538. Over the centuries, it evolved into its current form, shaped by Friar Domingo de Petrés between 1807 and 1823. While it doesn't share the same colonial aesthetics as churches like San Francisco, its historical importance, intricate chapels, and artistic treasures make it well worth a visit. Just remember, this is not a typical Latin American colonial church, but rather an architectural gem of its own era.

The Catedral Primada in Bogotá stands as one of the city’s most beautiful and meaningful spiritual landmarks. The moment you step inside, the calm atmosphere, soft lighting, and graceful architecture create a sense of peace. The high ceilings, elegant arches, and quiet chapels invite slow reflection. It’s a place where history and faith blend naturally, making it a wonderful spot to pause, pray, or simply appreciate its timeless beauty.
Manikandan — Google review
It's a large cathedral, but if you're in Bolivar Square and the building is open, you can go inside. However, there's nothing particularly special about the interior. If it's closed, it might look better from the outside.

The Catedral Primada de Colombia is a stunning landmark in the heart of Bogotá. Its neoclassical architecture, rich history, and peaceful atmosphere make it a must-visit. Stepping inside feels like traveling back in time, with beautiful details and a sense of serenity that contrasts with the lively Plaza de Bolívar outside. A true cultural and spiritual treasure of Colombia.”

A must visit when in Bogota. There's a regular mass every noon, but they close quickly after the mass. Nice interior, has a more modern feel compare to the older churches and chapels within the historic center. Nice plaza in front. Many nearby vendors selling various stuffs.

We had a lot of fun. Plenty of things to try, very well organized. Ideal place for children and young adults.
Alexander L — Google review
We wanted to buy tickets online in advance but the website did not accept our cards to make payment while we had no issue with the cards to buy tickets there. There are long lines for all main attractions which takes hours and all main attarctions ( blue, yellow, green) were closed from time to time for 20-40-60 minutes for some kind of maintenance which even more expends your waiting time.. If you can, just buy fast track. We waited for more than an hour for the highest blue attraction and after an hour we were told that it does not work and needs maintenance which will last for 20 min and after 20 min. we were told that it will take one hour to fix it. After fixing it, it made one ride and again stopped for maintenance and was opened close to the end of the day. They dont allow anything to take to this attraction and ask you to use lockers which are very small for any backpack and you have to go back to the main entrance to the main lockers. The other attractions have their big spaces for backpacks. If not consider queues, maintenance issues, waiting time, terrible organization it was ok.
Guney R — Google review
Fun, and thrilling rides. Lines were quite long if you have the regular pass, I highly recommend getting the VIP pass to make the best of your visit. Definitely is THE place to visit with kids.
Jed S — Google review
Fun theme park. Not a huge park so you can ride all the rides in one day especially if you have the fast pass, which I do recommend for the bigger kid rides because the lines are long. Plenty bathroom stations. Good options for food and prices are reasonable. Kids had a great time. I do recommend.
Courtney — Google review
We went on a Tuesday and there were hardly any lines. It was great! The park is clean and the staff was pleasant. We will return again.
Brad W — Google review
We really had a blast as a family. The rides, the characters around, very cool, the workers are very friendly!!! The only thing they should figure out is how to charge people that aren’t riding anything. I had to pay $50.000 to be with my kids, I have vertigo and can’t get into any ride, told them so, but they don’t make exception for this condition 🫠
Johanna P — Google review
Small lines but extreme waiting times. The employees seem tired and all but one atracción is outdated. As I said the average lines take 1-1,5 hours even though there’s a few persons at the park.
J L — Google review
I really liked all of the attractions, they were super fun. The roller coasters are not the scariest in the world, but they sure give you a good thrill. The park is big and well distributed, the food options are not as varied as they should but they will keep you go going. I really liked the way the handle the lines between normal payers and fast past payers, it seems fais enough. What I really dislike was how long they take to put people in the attractions. The biggest roller-coaster for example takes about 2 minutes to complete the ride, but they would take up to 10 minutes to put in the people four the next ride. I would understand if it was due to covid-related safety, but it wasn't. It was just pure disorganization, the people working in the attraction would often be talking to each other and looking like not knowing what to do.

Colpatria Tower is a prominent skyscraper located in Bogota, offering a mix of office spaces and an occasional open-to-the-public observation deck. Situated near the public transport hub at the intersection of 7th and 10th avenue, it provides urban views featuring popular landmarks such as Hotel Tequendama. Visitors can enjoy capturing the city's skyline from different angles due to the area's abundance of buildings.
Guys, it's worth the visit. Entrance times and up to date prices are displaced at the entrance of the tower. I went on a Saturday at 3 pm. The entrance was 25.000COD (~6USD). That was worth every penny. On top were 3 guids waiting to inform people (for free) about all the surroundings. I got a provat tour because I was the only foreigner to that time. Thank you, Diana. You were a very good guide. She told me and explained to me so much. From all the information I got more than 10 more places that I will visit in the next days. I gave here a tip for being so engaging, but you don't need to, and she didn't ask for it at all. Very professional procedure from beginning till end. I had the choice to stay until 9 pm, but after 2h, I had enough of these wonderful views. Highly recommend this 360° Viewpoint! Cheers and keep up that beautiful work, guys!

For not much more than 2 Euro you get a wonderful view of all of Bogota from a height of almost 200m. The security conditions are stronger than in comparable towers (a line must not be crossed, otherwise a loud warning signal sounds, the cameras must not be held by the bars), but the security forces are relaxed if you accidentally trigger the signal.

We had an incredibly disappointing experience here. After waiting for over two hours for our food, we followed up with the waitress twice to understand the delay. Each time, we were assured that the food was coming soon. At one point, I was even told the food would be served at 11 PM, which seemed absurd. It honestly felt like a tactic to keep us ordering more drinks while we waited. Finally, we discovered that the waitress had never put in our order—this, even after two follow-ups. The lack of communication and accountability was frustrating, to say the least. A restaurant of this caliber should prioritize customer service and ensure that orders are handled properly. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling undervalued as customers. I hope management addresses this issue to prevent it from happening to others.

Such an overhyped place in Bogota. The interior is interesting but the price of drinks and food is just unbelievable. A simple beer is around 16-17k The food isn’t tasty and very mediocre. Service is ok. I would go there to see the place and have a coffee or so. There are several other nice places in zona T which give a better dining experiences. We had some lemonades and some entrées for a company of 5 and bill was around 400k and no one was nearly satisfied with what we ate.
Deepak K — Google review
First of all to pay cover to enter a restaurant its the first in my life. After paying 25k COP. When ordering the food the waitress sarcastically mentioned that the plate was small sarcastically telling us to order more food. When requesting for extra service utensils such as napkins literally they gave only one napkin, we order a side of lime and salt oh and by the way they charge for the lime and salt, and never mede it to our table when we were done eating and requested the check we were charged extra In plain review Food ok Service terrible Prices out of this world Wait time ok Atmosphere Nice Ambience Nice
Osvaldo G — Google review
Tried this place out while on vacation and the service was just downright horrible. The entire experience lasted 3 hours as the waiters were not helping our table. We had to ask for utensils, drinks, appetizers and even to order once we got sat down on our table 2 hours later. When the bill came they asked if we wanted to add tip to it and we explicitly stated no. However, they still charge a 10% tip to it. The food was good but would not come back based on the service. I hope they read this and make a point to improve on their costumer service skills.

I spent my Saturday night at this vibrant performance-show restaurant in Bogotá back in January, and it truly exceeded all my expectations from start to finish. As soon as I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by an explosion of color and creativity that stretched across multiple levels, each one revealing a new theme more imaginative than the last. One floor felt like stepping into a fun hell and then heaven, every space was a feast for the senses, compelling me to pause and admire the details that made each concept so distinct and memorable. What impressed me just as much as the décor was the genuine warmth of everyone who worked there. From the hostess who welcomed me with a bright smile to the dancers whose performances left me in awe, every individual embodied the spirit of Colombian hospitality. They greeted me like an old friend, offering recommendations and insider tips with infectious enthusiasm (along with 'Colombian flirting' of course ;). A particularly special moment was when the restaurant’s female manager—around her 30s, though regrettably her name escapes me (maybe Alejandra..?)—took the time to personally guide me through the entire space. Her passion for the venue shone through as she narrated the inspiration behind each floor’s design, giving me a deeper appreciation. Blend of music, dance, and random shows unfolded before my eyes, each act more dazzling than the last. I found myself drawn into their world, clapping and cheering alongside a crowd that buzzed with excitement. Throughout the night, I diligently captured the experience with countless photos and videos, eager to preserve every magical moment and uploading stories. But no amount of snaps could truly convey the energy that pulsed through the air: the laughter echoing off the walls, the ripple of applause after each performance, the joyful conversations sparked between strangers. It was an evening that delighted me in unexpected ways at every turn. It wasn’t just a meal or a show; it was a journey through art, culture, and community, all wrapped into one unforgettable night. If I ever return to Bogotá, I know exactly where I’m headed first. This place comes with my highest recommendation—prepare to be amazed!

Loved this place. It's expensive (by Colombian standards), and apparently the place to go for Gringos in Bogotá. That isn't bad, it's just an advice. That being said, the food was amazing though we just got a couple appetizers. Drinks are very tasty and quite strong (they detail what type and how many ml of alcohol is in each drink). There are also plenty of non-alcoholic options is you prefer. Service was very good, and even though they were busy we didn't have to wait long to get anything we needed. The night we were there, they had a live band on stage playing all sorts of English and even some Spanish covers, and they sounded very tight. Finally, if you want to remember your visit, they have a little store with all sorts of souvenirs.

This is one of the better parks with better rides compared to salitre magico. The only thing I dont like about this place is that the park opens late at 12 pm and closes really early at 5 pm. Doesn't give much time to do anything. The lines are long because theres only one staff checking the safety systems on rides which makes waiting in line forever. You're pretty much forced to buy the fast express line to bypass the wait or youre not going to have a good time.

What I cannot understand about Bogota Theme Parks is why they close so early. The day I went it opened at noon and closed at 6pm, crazy. I spent most of my time in lines, the lone to buy tickects was insane, and the lines to get in the best rides even crazier. To be honest I did not buy the most expensive 'passport' as they call the tickets and I also did not buy the 'fast pass' to get in the rides quicker, but the park itself is not that great either. It far less smaller than I thought and most rides feel like they were made for kids except for some extremes ones that are actually quite good. My advice is: if you are going go on a Thurdsday or so, avoid going on Sundays and do not set your expectations too high.

Restaurant
Chronos Fantasy Restaurante is a vibrant, bi-level eatery that perfectly blends comfort food with a playful video game theme. This unique spot has become a favorite among both gaming enthusiasts and anime fans, showcasing an eclectic mix of Western and Eastern animations alongside an impressive collection of toys and figures inspired by popular manga from the last decade.
By far my favorite restaurant in all of Bogotá! I love the video gaming concept and they nailed it with the decor. I’m a big kid at heart so this was right up my alley. The food is titled after some gaming favorites which makes it fun to decide what to eat. Every bite of food I had was DELICIOUS. The Pokémon Burgers were soooo much to eat but I made it through. The other burgers are HUGE! The drinks were YUMMY and fun to look at with the colors. One of my favorite parts was that you can sit and play video games at your table as you’re waiting for your food or eating. So much nostalgia and I love it! So much fun!

Very cool concept. Love the games and it was a hit for the kids. Many different arcade games to play which was fun. Unfortunately that's where the good stopped. Didn't have a reservation but was seated quickly. Drinks took forever to come out! Placed our food order and it took a while for the food as well. Food was dry. Ordered nachos and it was really dry, not much cheese or meat, it wasn't that good. Kids had chicken tenders and hamburgers and they seem to like their food. The paella was dry. Food didn't seem fresh. Also, the server over charged us. We didn't realize until we got home. Lots of double charges on our cards. Overall I wouldn't recommend the food. Atmosphere is fun. I would not come back.

It was a good visit to celebrate my brother's birthday, the attention was very nice, the waiter was assisting us quickly, however I was unable to make the reservation through WhatsApp and had to wait on the line when we arrived. We asked for the sauces to add to our dishes, and they used small packs and were not variety.
Daniel E — Google review
If you want to eat in time please do a reservation. We had to wait a long time until the reservations were cancelled but that was our fault. The food was good (We only asked for burgers) and the drinks were nice. Food took a long time to arrive but we didn't feel it since we were playing with all the machines they offered. Amazing place for people who like videogames and old gaming machines, atmosphere was loud but that was not an inconvenient since we were enjoying ourselves with the games.

Love the place, decorations and console or arcades are the top! The dishes really good. Too bad that the service is not too well given the crowded of the place.
Juan T — Google review
The only thing I must congratulate this place for, is Andres (in blue shirt) he deserves 5 stars for his attitude and readiness to serve us, even without being his role; because waiters were rude and slow. Food took more than one hour to be served, was salty and overcooked. Lot of empty "reserved" tables and people waiting in line outside for such a deception that attracts people with arcades in the tables

It was alright! They do have great music and deserts. Great decorations however the food was so so.

This vibrant virtual village offers a plethora of engaging activities where kids can don their firefighter hats on replica fire engines or step into the shoes of restaurant managers. With a focus on experiential learning, children earn tokens through various jobs that they can later spend in shops or on games, teaching them valuable lessons about work and reward.
This place is really amazing for kids. Never seen anything like it and just think that it is simply fantastic. My son loved being a firefighter and working the cash register. It is worth every penny. It is basically an indoor amusement and learning center where kids run everything and can do different jobs from being firefighters, to police officers, to austronauts.

This was such a fun experience for my kids! They absolutely loved it. The lines for some of the events were a little ridiculous but once they got to do the activity they thought it was worth it. It’s difficult for the parents, lots of waiting around... but the kiddos loved it.

For those who come in groups of at least three kids, this place is a must visit if you need them entertained for at least three hours. If you have plans, don't count on being here for less than that. Wouldn't hurt to have more comfortable waiting areas for adults, and perhaps more food choices also for adults.

This place is really nice for kids, however the information about what it is and what you get for the price is not good and clear. I was at the front desk asking how it works and they told me the activities are not directed. That's totally wrong! Each activity has at least one grown-up in charge explaining and encouraging kids to do awesome things. A must place to go with kids In Bogota.

Sorry, but I did not like this place at all. I ordered a cafe cortado and what they gave me was just an espresso with a tiny amount of foam on top, much akin to a macchiato. Furthermore, the espresso was bitter. They had two cakes in their display case and I ordered a slice of one of them. Then the waitress came to the table and told me that neither one of those cakes was available despite the fact that only about 1/4 of the cake had been served to other people. No further explanation was forthcoming. Also, I ordered a breadstick which never came so I had to go up to the cash register and remind them. They just don't seem to care about the customer experience and I would not go back here again.

This delicious, amazing, unique artisanal coffee cost us 26,000col. Ginger coffee was exquisitely balanced and amazing (tall glass). Big comfy chairs were much appreciated after walking all day. They usually take credit cards but the machine was broken that day. Still amazing and totally worth it.

Very close to the gold museum on a side street. But opens up to a big space inside. There is some kind of fly or flying insects problem here. I have never seen that in bogota being so cold and all. Surrounded by significant architectural landmarks, this lively space buzzes with both locals and tourists alike, creating an inviting atmosphere filled with the sounds of street vendors and cooing pigeons.
Only Petro's government would give public access to this plaza. Colombia has always been a segregated state for the poor and the ones that do not adhere to corruption or religion. This is the first time that people from all over the country have been able to enjoy this significant place.

Just a block away from the Plaza de Boliviar the Plaza de Armas is home to Colombia's presidential palace. We had to go through a checkpoint with armed soldiers, but they were very helpful and friendly. The guards at the presidential palace had very fancy armor.

(Translated by Google) I think it's been a very good idea for this administration to open the Plaza de Armas, as it allows us to get a close look at all the architectural heritage this area has to offer and also to explore places in our city that, in one way or another, allow us to learn a little more about who we are as Colombians.

Arepas are a beloved staple in Colombian cuisine, often among the first culinary delights travelers encounter. These delightful corn cakes, made from either yellow or white ground maize, showcase the rich diversity of Colombia's regions. From crispy and fried to soft and cheesy variations, each area has its unique twist on this dish. In the coffee zone, for instance, locals enjoy thin and crunchy arepas generously spread with butter and served alongside cheese.

Taxis Bogota SAS is a reliable and affordable transportation option in Bogota. It's important to check the fare sticker inside the taxi to avoid overcharging, and always ask the driver to turn on the meter if it's not already running. The service is known for its efficiency, real pricing, and excellent customer service with polite and serious drivers. However, there may be difficulties in reaching out to the company through their provided contact number.

(Translated by Google) I took a taxi from 106 and 7 to 122 and 7 The taximeter charged $5,200 and the taxi driver charged us 6,000, which was because he charged the minimum. On top of everything, he returned with a counterfeit bill. I noticed it before he left and he said who knows how they got it into him. They are going to tell me that a taxi driver can get a fake bill!!!!! Yes they have all the experience. And it was too noticeable. It looked like a comic. GVK224 plates I have been trying to contact the company to file a complaint. And it was impossible Then they ask why no one wants TAXIS services. (Translated by Google) If you ask why platforms are used to transport, well, easy: You see that they just move in the wrong direction, throw the car at others, look at how to be as slow as possible so that the taximeter charges more or the taximeter is tampered with. The platforms are exact and you know the route and the price and you know what can increase the price. You qualify and can file complaints. Here is a complaint, what does it result in? Miserably, it remains that your OPINION will be considered in the future... What is that? (Original) Si ud pregunta por qué se usa plataformas para transportarse, pues easy: UD ve que nada mas se movilizan en contravía, lanzan el carro a los demás, miran como ser lo más lento para que el taxímetro cobre más o el taxímetro adulterado. I ANSWERED HIM TO NOT BE BOLD, THAT'S WHY I TOLD HIM BEFORE GETTING UP WHERE I WAS GOING, HE TOLD ME TO GET OFF BECAUSE HE WAS NOT TAKING ME, I ANSWERED HIM THAT THEY WORK WHERE THEY WANTED AND HE TOLD ME YES AND THAT HE WAS NOT GOING. THEN I TOLD HIM READY, TAKE ME WHERE THE WAZE TELLS YOU; THIS WAS WHEN I ARRIVED IN BOCHICA I TOLD HIM WHERE I WAS GOING TO GET OFF, THE TAXIMETER MARKED 250 UNITS, I TOLD HIM HOW MUCH IS $28,000 (AND IF YOU MULTIPLY 95*250 IT GIVES $23,750) I TOLD HIM AFTER HE BROUGHT ME WHERE HE WANTED HE CHARGED ME MORE.. Mega Churros is a delightful destination for those with a sweet tooth, offering an enticing twist on the classic churro. Unlike traditional Spanish versions that are typically paired with chocolate, these Colombian treats shine on their own, often dusted with sugar or drizzled with rich arequipe. In Medellin, you can savor them filled with this delicious caramel-like spread or even indulge in chocolate-dipped varieties.

Mentioned on

When traveling to Colombia, particularly in bustling cities like Bogotá, it's essential to be mindful of your currency exchange. Opt for reputable exchange offices rather than street vendors to ensure safe transactions with Colombian pesos. Carrying small denomination bills can help you avoid the risk of counterfeit notes and make payments easier. Additionally, familiarize yourself with the local currency's coins and bills to navigate your expenses smoothly. Safety is paramount when exploring urban areas; parents should exercise extra caution while crossing streets, especially with children in tow.
