La Puerta Falsa Restaurant, a 200-year-old establishment located near Plaza de Bolivar, is a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. This cozy cafe has been frequented by well-known figures such as writers, actors, and ex-presidents. The menu features traditional Bogotano home-cooked meals including Ajiaco and Chocolate Completo.
It is the most famous place to have Sancochos and Tomales for a reason. It is claimed to be the oldest restaurant in Bogota to serve these culturally iconic dishes and it does not betray the expectations. Worth the wait and you will probably have to wait up to 30 minutes before you get in but I still highly recommend it. The staff is friendly and the place is cosy.
Simo C — Google review
What can I say… it was worth the wait! The food was delicious and the service was great, even though some people seemed to have their doubts :( The place is small, so a little patience is needed — but totally worth it. Great flavor!!! Highly recommended!

I want to really give a shout out to the patient, friendly staff here. This place is so famous and so busy that it would be easy to be bored or irritable. But true to Colombian culture, everyone really treated me as an individual and wanted to make sure I got what I needed and had a positive experience. Wait time was around 15 min and then I was seated at the bar area. I ordered the classics, chocolate completo and the tamale. I’d describe it as good, solid comfort food (and generous portions). The tamale tasted very fresh and the chicken meat inside was still on the bone. My bill came to COL 28,000. Sat next to a woman from Bogotá who came for the tamale (an enthusiastic repeat customer) and loved the place for the food and the rich history, so it’s interesting to see that the appeal is not just for tourists.
Isaac L — Google review
Just stopped in to grab some dessert. Had the milk flan and the sweet curd. Both were good. The place fills up quickly and there are not a lot of places to sit…so get there early or be ready to wait. The service was quick.
Team T — Google review
After a city bike ride, a few of us ducked into this crowded institution — Colombia’s oldest restaurant, or so they say. Big queues, packed tables, no-frills service. You come here for tradition, not innovation. • The Chicken Soup: I’m not a soup guy, but this one? It had soul. Comforting. No bold spices, just warmth. • The Tamale: Possibly the best I’ve had in South America. Hearty, tender, wrapped in flavor. • Atmosphere: Noisy, rushed, authentic. Feels like grandma’s place, if your grandma ran a war-time kitchen. • Locals: Everywhere. Drinking coffee, tea, or grabbing a quick bite. • Scores: • Food: 8.5/10 • Atmosphere: 9/10 • Value: 7.5/10 • Worth it? Definitely — come early or wait long.
Nuwan A — Google review
This restaurant, one of the oldest in Bogota, is a must-visit for breakfast. Their tamal with hot chocolate is a must-try. For lunch, we had the Ajiaco, which was amazing. Their menu is authentic and delicious, and everything is worth trying. There’s limited seating, so there’s often a line, but tables rotate quickly, so you don’t have to wait too long. Definitely worth the wait.
Carolina B — Google review
What an unforgettable cultural experience! Located just steps away from Plaza Bolívar, El Palacio de Justicia, and La Catedral, La Puerta Falsa offers a true taste of Colombian tradition. The hot chocolate with cheese and fresh bread was absolutely delicious, comforting and rich with authentic flavor. The ajiaco was incredible, perfectly seasoned and hearty. From the warm service to the cozy, historic ambiance, everything felt like a step back in time. A must-visit spot for anyone wanting to savor the heart of Bogotá! 🇨🇴🍫🍲✨
Ricardo R — Google review
One of the oldest restaurants in this part of Bogota and well worth a visit. Would heartily recommend the ajiaco which was hearty and super tasty. Hot chocolate with cheese was a bit strange but we'll put that down to an acquired taste... Worth the wait if you can get a table.

La Changua Gastrobar is a delightful culinary destination that pays homage to the rich traditions of Colombian gastronomy, particularly the beloved dish known as changua. This comforting soup, originating from the Cundiboyacense highlands, features a harmonious blend of milk, poached eggs, and green onions. Each bowl is uniquely crafted with generous garnishes of fresh coriander and often accompanied by crusty bread—sometimes stale—that adds texture to the milky broth.

Restaurant
Ajiaco is a must-try signature dish in Bogota, known for its ability to warm you up in the chilly weather of the city. The altitude of 8,646 ft makes this hearty soup a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. Additionally, there are positive reviews about the delicious flavors of ajiaco and frijoles, making it an essential experience for anyone visiting Bogota.
The food was very good. The large beans are huge. $23.000 for the large platter and $20.000 for the smaller (which is still large). They open at 12pm and it is better to arrive early because the line is long by 1pm. The only negative comment I have was the aguapanela is artificial, I would not order it again
Owen B — Google review
We waited half an hour for our dishes to be served. That's just too much for a place that only serves two dishes. A scandalous wait in the line too. Good food, and a good price, but come when it's empty. Service was just not what you expect.
Nicolás F — Google review

(Translated by Google) Honestly the best bean in Bogotá. The waiting time may be a little long, depending on the time. But the table service is very fast, it has two very well-structured dishes with a delicious flavor, which are worth waiting in line for.
Paula C — Google review
(Translated by Google) The food is spectacular, 10/10, both the beans and the ajiaco. The place is very noisy because the tables are very close together. You have to be very patient; the wait can easily take an hour to get a table. I recommend going there, but don't be hungry, as this place always has a long wait. Also, don't wait on the back floor; service takes a long time there. If you order to go, they only have one size.
Edwin P — Google review
(Translated by Google) The price-performance ratio is excellent. The portion and flavor of both the ajiaco and the beans are excellent. If you go on a weekend, always wait in line. The service is friendly. The place is austere, like a business lunch restaurant.
DANIEL V — Google review
(Translated by Google) I'll start with the negative, which is already evident from the repeated comments: the wait. In total, we spent an hour and a half just waiting to eat. We waited half an hour in line, and after sitting down and immediately ordering, we had to wait another hour for the food to arrive. I think the restaurant owners should seriously consider expanding their kitchen capacity: more space and more equipment. This would allow for a faster order turnover and, consequently, faster service. That, without a doubt, is the weakest point of the experience. Now, the positive: the food is plentiful, well-priced, and truly delicious. I'm sure that if they improve the kitchen, their rating will rise considerably. Most of the negative comments focus on the wait time, and while details like the complimentary cookie or sandwich are a nice gesture, they don't fully compensate for the inconvenience.

MASA 105 is a popular bakery, cafe, and pastry shop located in Bogota. Founded by sisters Silvana and Mariana Villegas, who previously worked in New York City restaurants, MASA 105 offers a wide range of delectable treats from pastries like NYC-style doughnuts to sandwiches, tartines, and eggs. The establishment has three locations on calles 70, 81, and 105.
I’ve gone to MASA in the morning after a workout to eat their scrambled eggs and their green smoothie. Best scrambled eggs and smoothie in the area. It’s also a good spot to get some work done if you’re working remotely, try their salads!
Bryan H — Google review
Another great bakery in Bogota with fresh sourdough bread, a great selection of foods and a bright interior (+ a nice outdoor patio). I’ve been to this Masa multiple times and really like it for their food and atmosphere - both for breakfast or lunch. It’s one of the nicest Masa locations I know and has lots of seating and is always bustling with people. I would give it 4 stars, just because there’s a few things that could be improved. The main thing is service. Despite seeming to have a lot of staff, it takes a long time to order and sometimes we had to ask multiple people before someone took our order. And no one comes by again to ask if you want any additional food or drinks, even if you’ve been sitting there with empty drinks or table for a while. Usually I don’t care so much, but I really noticed it here. Regarding breakfast, I really like the shakshuka (with an extra order of bread) and the avocado toast. The pancakes looked really nice as well. I tried the French toast - it was ok, but not my favorite. When it comes to drinks, their coffee is good, but their almond milk isn’t the best. It was foamy, but it made the coffee a bit bland in my opinion. Aside from that, I can highly recommend everything from their bakery. The bread is really great!
Sophia Q — Google review
The best scrambled eggs I have ever tried, so moist and fluffy. The sourdough bread and pastries are all very delicious! They have everything you need for a perfect brunch. Highly recommended. Jeisson was our server the first time I visited and he was amazing. Diego was my server the next day ( I had to go back again) and he was very attentive and so very patient with our large party. Thank you team MASA for the high quality products and service you provide on a daily basis. Keep up the excellent work!

Best pastries and coffee in Bogotá. This place became a favorite to us during our visit to Colombia. They have a good variety in their menu for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Pastries are awesome as well as their coffee. Kudos to Ivan, the barista, as he is quick, crafty and know what he is doing (the only one in charge of the coffee area with hundreds of orders per day and he delivers!). Breakfast burger was a favorite as well as the fruit bowls, fresh squeeze mandarin juice and French toast. Great quality and great service. Keep it up Masa, we'll be back!

Best breakfast and brunch in Bogota. Super recommended: The Tartine de aguacate & huevo; Danish de pecans & caramel and of course the Flat white or the cappuccino. AMAZING!!!
Hans N — Google review
Above and beyond! The place was super busy and they ran out of some dishes however it didn't feel like an issue, the server came in handy with her suggestions.
Rainel M — Google review
1. The food is good, 2. Services are good too, but the washroom was in maintenance during our visit, while there was not replacement measures. The rest are good. 3. The atmosphere is great, a good place to have chat or reading or just chill; 4. We order 2 dishes with 1 fruits juice and 1 coffee cost at 62000 COP (16USD). Recommended to come.

First review: Absolutely loved this place ! Food was outstanding and fairly priced We had the breakfast burger Salmon bagel Croquets French toasts (tasted more like banana bread we preferred the pancakes) Orange grapefruit juice - this was delicious Avocado lemonade Only negative is the insane line Second review: I had originally left an all 5 star review but I went back and ordered the same thing because we loved it so much the first time but the ingredients were not fresh service was very slow I’m not sure what happened you can see my second bagel in the last photo

La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace, also known as Persa, is a popular indoor venue near the National Museum of Colombia. It's famous for its stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as small eateries serving local specialties. The market gained international recognition when it was featured on Netflix's Street Food Latin America. Despite attracting tourists, La Perseverancia remains a favorite among locals, bustling with Colombians during lunchtime.
I really enjoyed my lunch en el Mercado La Perseverancia. Truth to tell, it’s not always my favorite to be bombarded by people holding menus trying to get me to eat at their restaurant. However, after making a circle around the place and everyone was doing it, I ended up with the first one that I saw. He said the magic words: sopa de mariscos en leche de coco con queso…or seafood soup in coconut milk with cheese. It was served with coconut rice, plantain, and avocado, y agua con gas. And it was absolutely delicious! I don’t remember the name, but it was right next to the stall with the famous celebrity Master chef. The live music was also very nice.

Part of a stop in our Food Tour. It's interesting to see a local food market with various fast foods being served. Lots of locals with families. The dish we had was delicious (not oily or salty) and filling. Go there if you wish to see a piece of authentic Bogota food scene.

If you find yourself in Bogotá and are craving some delicious food without breaking the bank, you absolutely need to check out this market! Trust me, you’ll love it!
John ( — Google review
An old 2 story building, essentially open air, with multiple independent small kiosks. The food focuses mainly on typical Colombian cuisine; various soups, ajiaco, meat dishes. A couple of fresh vegetable kiosk and one live plants kiosk. It is typically crowded at lunch. Not all of the food kiosks are open during the weekdays but all are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available and there is adequate seating.
INDIANCREEKHILL — Google review
Perfect place to sample local dishes, albeit they can be quite pricey in comparison to other places. Not much options for fruit / vegetable stalls but we enjoyed our time here nonetheless. Samples ajiaco for 22,000 pesos then the day after a mini bandeja paisa for 20,000 pesos as a menu Del dia which was reasonable.
Kara H — Google review
A vibrant, crowed, magnetic gastronomic mecca in the heart of Bogotá that provides visitors a means to taste traditional Colombian foods like beef broth, bean and vegetable soups, amazing fried fish and ceviche—as prepared by chefs from every corner of the country. You can also buy local produce at the stalls adjacent and support many small vendors. I definitely recommend visiting!
Nelsia B — Google review
We’ve decided to come to this place after watching the Netflix series! What can I say. Food is amazing, so much flavours, prices are reasonable and service is also good. Highly recommended it. Also, try to avoid weekends as you might be to queue for a bit long. Overall this is a really good place if you’re looking for quality-quantity food and also Ema very friendly environment.
Alberto R — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace during my recent trip to Bogotá, and it was an absolute delight. This hidden gem is a true reflection of the city's vibrant culture and diverse culinary scene. First and foremost, the marketplace is a feast for the senses. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in a symphony of colors, aromas, and sounds. The lively atmosphere is infectious, and it's clear that this place holds a special spot in the hearts of locals. One of the highlights of my visit was the food. The variety of culinary offerings is staggering. Whether you're a fan of Colombian cuisine or looking to explore exotic flavors from around the world, you won't be disappointed. The empanadas, arepas, and tamales are must-tries, and the fresh fruit stands are a refreshing treat on a hot day. What sets La Perseverancia apart is the sense of community. It's not just a marketplace; it's a place where people gather, connect, and share stories. The friendly vendors are more than happy to engage in conversations and introduce you to their culture through food. Navigating the marketplace can be a bit overwhelming due to its size, but that's all part of the adventure. You might stumble upon hidden stalls offering unique crafts, traditional sweets, or even live music performances. The cleanliness and organization of the marketplace are commendable, and there are ample seating areas to enjoy your meal or simply take in the bustling atmosphere. Overall, La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace is a must-visit when you're in Bogotá. It's an authentic, immersive experience that will leave you with lasting memories of Colombian culture and cuisine. Don't forget to bring your appetite and an open heart to truly appreciate everything this remarkable place has to offer.

Great food at a convenient price. This is a signature restaurant brand in Colombia with over one hundred locations nationwide. Service in this particular location is good but not great. Cozy bread serving is very special. Creative crepes recipes go from very basic ham and egg varieties to complex ones such as the Parisienne and the Sensation Colombia. Portions are generous and waitresses are friendly.
Glen T — Google review
The food looks nice and tastes good for a reasonable price. My issue is that after sitting us down and putting down fork/knives on the table, more than 15 minutes before anyone acknowledges us and asks us what we want to order.
Yuejiang C — Google review
Always a good option in Bogotá and in any city of Colombia. This particular Crepes has a very nice decoration that plays with the sunset and the lights of the place. The service is always something that many other places have to see and to copy to their own business. This time was for a delicious ice cream, tea, and a quiet good coffee. A very good space to chat with your family and let the time pass while you have a relaxing moment. The outside place also I want to say congratulations to be pet friendly with the people that go with their fury friends. Congratulations to the place.

After lunch in the area, a good dessert is a must! The sweet crepes were delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Their inspiring business model, focused on inclusion by hiring women to support them, is more than enough reason to visit. Definitely a must-visit anywhere in the world where there’s a Crepes & Waffles!
Moshé S — Google review
One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Crêpes & Waffles. I arrived straight from the airport, exhausted and just wanting a snack. No one welcomed me - I had to wander around while the staff stood in a corner laughing with each other. I asked if there was a table with a power outlet so I could charge my phone. They laughed and said “we don’t have.” I stepped out for a bit, came back, sat at the coworking table, and plugged my phone into my laptop to charge. Waited ages for someone to take my order - only for the security guy to come over and ask me to move to a smaller table. I said sure, but the table was filthy, so I moved again. Then, suddenly, they did have outlets. 😂 Finally got someone’s attention, placed my order, and 10 minutes later they came back to tell me they didn’t have the crepe I ordered. The cherry on top? One of them walked up while I had my laptop out and slid a paper placemat underneath my laptop mid-use. Super disorganized, inattentive, and just bad energy overall. Wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.

Elektra Punk & Food is a vibrant and edgy restaurant that offers an array of vegan options. The decor is punk-inspired, featuring a bold color scheme and eclectic artwork. Despite its punk aesthetic, the food is highly praised for its deliciousness, attracting both vegans and non-vegan diners alike. The menu includes items like tacos, bruschetta, risotto, and desserts that have received rave reviews.
Everything was great, the STICKY RICE dessert was one of the best i've had. The mushroom sandwich was great, it may be too simple for some. The pistachio cookie was decent, but a little expensive for what it was, specially compared to the STICKY RICE. Lattes were great. Service was excellent. The pear salad was fantastic. The cauliflower tacos were good, although they were kind of oily.
Juan C — Google review
This fully vegan restaurant is a fantastic spot for comfort food lovers! The menu leans a bit on the greasier side, but everything we had was really good. The birria was hands-down the favorite—it’s a must-try. The portions were on the smaller side, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing since it keeps you from overindulging. The atmosphere is definitely unique, as it’s more of a punk bar/hangout spot. The music was a little loud, but it fits the vibe they’re going for. Service was on the slower side, but given that it was a weekend night, it was understandable. Overall, a fun place to enjoy great vegan comfort food!

Food was ok but very small portions. Service was excellent. The ambience was ok. All vegeterian options.

I had one of the top 3 salads that I have had in my life here. It was their pear salad. Also had a very nice drink that was like a whiskey sour but used Lechee fruit that was also very good. They didn't play any punk music but instead they did have some nice new wave type music which I also enjoy. Great place with two thumbs up from me, I could eat that salad many more times before getting bored
JD F — Google review
I am not sure what punk food is but this place certainly has amazing grub. The fact that the cuisine is vegan is just a plus, in its own right it’s just plain delicious. Even non-vegan guests in our party truly enjoyed it. The decor is obviously punk and seeing it from outside I would not have thought of going in but I had heard great comments. And I’m glad that I did! We tried the tacos, bruschetta, risotto and deserts. All amazing. Staff is friendly too.

Oh what a find this place is. Punk + Food is exactly what they are. Let's start with the music. B-52s Love Shack, emf Unbelievable, David Bowie and more. We ordered a few appetizers. Portions are on the small side but very tasty. Cool decor inside, especially in the walls. All vegan. Enjoy!

Hot Dog: good flavors and textures, though the cheese was salty Birria Tacos: decent Mushroom Sandwich: good. The bun and mushrooms were warm, and the aioli went well with the mushrooms. Nachos: decent

The food is incredible! I’m not vegan, but tend to lean that way and randomly found this place because it was close to the hotel. We went here two nights in a row for dinner. That’s how much we loved it! I’m bummed we didn’t make it again before leaving. Check it out if you’re in the area and love good food and punk music.

Ajiaco y Fríjoles Niza- Colina is a must-try signature dish in Bogota, Colombia. This hearty soup is an essential part of the Bogota experience, especially due to the city's high altitude and chilly weather. The generous and rich amount of ingredients make it a perfect remedy to warm up your insides. The friendly service adds to the overall recommendation for this traditional Colombian dish.

(Translated by Google) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This restaurant specializes in two dishes: beans and ajiaco. When I want a good ajiaco, this is my go-to place because they prepare it with respect for its essence. The ingredients are perfect: the chicken, corn, and avocado complement the dish perfectly, without unnecessary additions like carrots, which I've seen elsewhere. Plus, the prices are quite affordable. A small portion costs $20,000, but it's actually not that small, so the value is excellent. The only thing to keep in mind is the line, which can be up to 30 minutes during peak hours. However, if you arrive early, you can avoid the wait. Without a doubt, this is a place I always return to when I want a good ajiaco.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, highly recommend to anyone looking for wholesome plant-based lunch.

Amazing vegan food! With so many authentic Colombian options. Delicious chontaduro soup. Served with the best patacones. All this delicious food was served inside a gorgeous restaurant. With great stained glass windows
Reuben L — Google review
The place gets busy/crowded at lunch hour. I learned that I should seat myself. The other learning step was to pay at the register on your way out. Omar, my server, despite being super busy, was patient and very helpful. He made sure he understood my preferences and wrote everything on my order. I was very glad to be able to try a Colombian soup and Colombian rice. The soup could have used more salt. Later, I noticed the salt shakers are on a table by the door. The roasted vegetables were perfection. The squash was seasoned with rosemary and maybe mint. The dark sweet sour sauce was complex and delicious. The “meat”balls were dry and not flavorful, but they added legume protein to the plate. This is just east of La Calle Bonita.

The dishes are very decently priced and the staff were perfectly friendly. However, the food just doesn't taste good. Mestizo Vegano, a plant-based eatery in Bogota, impressed visitors with its ambiance, cuisine, and service. The staff, particularly a female server, were friendly and enthusiastic. They assisted patrons in choosing from the menu and offered excellent recommendations. The Chicha Morada drink and Trios Marinos appetizer come highly recommended for trying out. The accompanying soups were both tasty and comforting. For those who prefer more flavor in Colombian dishes, requesting the salsa picante is advised.
really happy i got to try this place, since they are only open strangely limited hours. the atmosphere is great – very open, spacious dining area, with two floors. the service was incredible. the servers work as a team and always make sure you are taken care of (even if your Spanish sucks like mine 😅). it was a nice place to dine alone as well. i got a peruvian pasta dish. the noodles were rather bland, but the vegetables it came with were delicious, so that made up for it. altogether for a juice, a soup appetizer, entree, and dessert, with a tip, it was $35,000.

The food was really excellent! A really good place to enjoy plant-based food in Bogota. I tried the vegan version of various Peruvian dishes. Especially the version of the Peruvian classic 'ceviche' was incredibly delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

This was by far my favorite plant-based restaurant that I visited in Bogota - the vibe, the fare and and the service on point. The staff, particularly my female server, was so welcoming, energetic and positive. She helped me select from the menu and made great recommendations. I visited twice and highly recommend you try the Chicha Morada (drink) and the Trios Marinos entrada. The soups come with the meal and both that I tried were delicious and comforting. Tip: if you find Colombian fare & preparation a slightly bland like me, ask for the “salsa picante” to jazz it up. I also bought a few of the Uchuva cocoa bars as gifts for friends back home, something we can’t get in the US! Note: this place is only open from 12-4PM. If you are visiting Bogota - close walking from Botero Museum or Museo de Oro - for a day plan.

I googled vegan food near my hotel & walked the city center to find this spot and I am so happy I did. Made it not long before sunset and it was a viiibe. It's tucked near the corner, unassuming, yet super cute, and the wall art made it a little nicely spicy, gave it a little razzle dazzle to be appreciated. lol The staff was genuinely kind and inviting, very helpful, and the food was good as hell. Lots of unique options to choose and try. I'm definitely going back and would 100% recommend it to anyone eating health conscious, plant based, or just want to try some different that's good. 👩🏾‍🍳💋🤌🏾

Been twice and enjoyed everything we ordered both times: bowl de huerto, empanadas, pasaboccas, and picada para dos. They make the food fresh, and it comes out hot and perfect. Be aware that you have to go upstairs to get to the restaurant.

The food was very good, the Maha Bowl was the best vegan food I've eaten so far. One less star for service because we couldn't pay with a card and had to search for ATM, and one less star for atmosphere as there wasn't really anything connected with veganism there, music playing was quite loud. Overall, if you want to eat very well, it's a good please to order from!

What a hidden gem - best vegan restaurant I had thus far in South America! Place is fairly spacious (believe there are 2 floors). Simple self serve model - you come upstairs to the second floor, view the menu and go up to the counter to order and pay, then wait for the staff to bring you the food. Most tables have a view to the street. Food wise, definitely recommend Tex Mix and Fajita (so delicious, although some rice was mildly burned). They also have a dessert counter. 🔔There are 1.5 sets of stairs to come up to 2nd FL so not ideal if you have mobility issues.

Overall: Great cheap food 😋, bad sanitation 😝. I've eaten there three days in a row. The food is delicious, though not very hot. There was great variety: Each day almost every item changed. But today was my last day. The Govinda's in my US city is spotless (Govinda's are located around the world), but this one would never pass US health inspection! In case that matters to you: The third day started with the server wiping my soup bowl with a (dirty?) towel in her bare hands. A cockroach ran across the serving line, but the cashier didn't even look surprised. There was a short hair in my food. My salad had what looked like a very small dead bug. Oh, and every day there have been pigeons walking around inside the restaurant through the big open doors... staff don't try to shoo them away.

Mondongos & Parrilla is a charming spot that has been serving the best of traditional Colombian cuisine for 24 years, and it’s clear why it’s a beloved choice among locals and visitors alike. The welcoming ambiance and rustic decor make for a cozy dining experience. I had the opportunity to try a dish that came with rice, avocado, banana, and an arepa, accompanied by a refreshing juice. The food was simple yet full of authentic flavor, showcasing the heart of Colombian culinary tradition. The balance of ingredients felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared, making the meal both satisfying and memorable. The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. Wife & I stopped in here on a recommendation from our AirBnb host for lunch because it was really close to our condo. We ate lunch. The service was very good, it was half empty on a Monday at 1:30pm. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa - platter with two types of Colombian sausage, ground beef, rice, red beans, a fried pork rind called chicharrón, an arepa, a plantain, a slice of avocado! Crazy bug meal for USD $8. My wife had their fried rice with shrimp and really enjoyed it. She said it tasted like fired rice in the States. I’d skip the appetizer unless your really hungry or waiting to try more dishes. Total cost was around $20 USD for two main dishes and two drinks.

I came here really excited to try their pizzas, however i was very disappointed. The pizza just lacked an authentic flavor and was super overwhelmed with flavors that don’t fit well together. The dough is not great, but crunchy so that’s something. For Colombian standards a large pizza and personal water should have costed less than it did, but that’s just another issue. Service is average.

(Translated by Google) I love it! I have been a customer for years. Their proposal is simple, with unique mixes and flavors and consistent quality. The pizzas have a unique dough, it is matured and crispy. The burgers have thick meat, which makes everything feel more. The meat lasagna is the best, I'm not the only one who says so, and the vegetable lasagna WOW. I like to go, they serve well, and when I want to order delivery, it is my fixed option 90% of the time. Tribu de Fuego Vegano is a well-known vegan restaurant in Bogota, offering creatively crafted and visually appealing dishes such as hummus, pizza, and ramen. While some patrons appreciate the good service and reliable opening hours, others hope for menu improvements like including tomato sauce with Italian dishes and using real vegan cheese. The restaurant is praised for its delicious and innovative cuisine, excellent service, unique cocktails, and pleasant atmosphere.
Great overall experience, the restaurant server was kind and patient and was able to speak alil English which was helpful since my current level of Spanish; still struggling with asking specifics about ingredients. Food tasted great ordered so much food because it all just looked so tempting. Spent 66,000 for 3 course meal plus drinks. Which is a lil more than I expected but I did spend quite a bit of time there enjoying my food with a friend so it was okay. The pasta was amazing, desert was the brownie and the appetizers were delicious. Don't just order one thing if you come here, my advice.

During our visit to Chapinero, we discovered a fantastic artistic spot with plenty of vegan delights to enjoy. From pizzas to ramen, they offer really crunchy sushi rice balls served with a surprising tofu and lime sauce. The Pizza Alighieri was spicy enough, and the mushroom and tofu toppings made it a great choice. If you enjoy thin, crunchy, slightly sweet crusts, this is the pizza for you. For those who prefer ramen, we tried the Ramen de Fuego. While it may not be spicy for those coming from Asia, it is still incredibly savory and chewy, thanks to the mushrooms and bok choy. If you have a moderate taste for spicy flavors, we think it would be a good option. Additionally, you can get an art kit that allows you to express your creativity, much like the delightful food you enjoy.

San Felipe Candelaria Restaurante is a charming spot that exudes the comforting aroma of home cooking. The lunch menu, known as corrientazo, offers a variety of delicious options with each entree accompanied by a delightful house soup. The friendly staff and efficient service add to the pleasant dining experience. Situated on the second floor, this traditional restaurant provides a cozy ambiance and even features small balconies on the third floor for a street view.
This place is incredible! The atmosphere is amazing, the service is top-notch, and the food is some of the best I’ve ever had. And the best part? It’s super affordable. I can’t recommend it enough. The only thing to keep in mind is that the taxi driver warned us that it’s a less safe area. But that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Just be cautious and keep your phones hidden when you’re out on the street.

Good local food, there is two floors so, a lot of space, I was probably the only European here, only local people! The waiters did an effort to communicate in English, it was very nice. My broken Spanish was not enough ahah. I would recommend 10 times if you're in the area.

The moment I walked in a server asked if I wanted soup or fruit - that was 3 steps after taking the stairs. 👍🏼 Restaurant is on the 2nd floor and has a nice traditional feel to it. I had mango juice with soup, and Pollo a la plancha which came out good. I would definitely recommend and will return when I'm back in the area

Absolutely love the vibe there!! All natural and beautiful. We tried a vegan tamale, empanada, salad, smoothies and juice. Absolutely love the tamale. Another great vegan prix fixe menu. Had a carrot soup. Loved the mango without any added sugar, the way I like it. The crepe stuffed with quinoa and mushrooms with a thick tomato sauce and green salad was super. Found many fun and unusual things in the tienda, including some used clothing and a backpack. Got some healthful cooking ingredients in bulk and hygiene supplies. Found some dried Guásimo fruit that smells amazing: earthy, dusky-sweet and dark red if you know what I mean. Now to find out how to prepare it. I'm thing to add to the whole flor de jamaica flowers for tea that I also got there.

The atmosphere is really nice and the food is also tasty (especially the cakes) The price of the menu of the day changes every day. Today it was rice with salad and soup with potatoes, mais and shrooms (0g of Protein) unfortunately a lot of dishes have nearly 0g of Proteins :( Yesterday the menu of the day was way better and cheaper (Lentils, Tofu). As I dietician I could help make the menu better;)

The restaurant is very nice and they are very kind there. The menu del dia is amazing but it is different every day and the first day I went it was amazing 5/5 stars but the second day it was more expensive and not as good and rich as rhe first day, so I was a bit disappointed. Anyway it is a wonderful place and I can recommend it.

I visited Nativa in spring of 2024 which is located in a historic district of bogota! Our server was catalina she was great! We started with some water with some lemon, then chose the “ensalada de la huerta” (great choice in my opinion) a big portion for 2! Then we had the “hambuergesa waia” which honestly feels like the cleanest burger i have ever eaten! And for juices we had guanabana and gulupa which were super delicious! And for dessert we had the “crema helada de frutos rojos y cacao” absolutely out of this world!
Armando O — Google review
Very sorry to say that I was really disappointed by the quality of the food today. We were with 3, and all the buns of our burgers were extremely dry and tough - we were hardly able to cut through them at all and nobody finished theirs. Also, the texture and flavour of the patty was bland, and the potatoes were quite hard, and served without any sort of salsa or sauce. The waiter was friendly but he took ages getting our water. The patio looks beautiful and the shop is cute, but honestly for the food I would never return.

Very laid back, seemed to just serve dish of the day, which was carrot and butternut soup as a starter, rice, cauliflower and beetroot (guessing) as a main and rice pudding as dessert, v cheap, 33,000 Pesos for 2 people. It's quite hard to find, a bit tucked away, but there is a sign on the street if you look carefully

The cashier guy, probably the owner of the restaurant tried to charge me the gringo price. I am an old man, travelling around the world can recognize these type of people easily. La Esquina de Mary - El Buen Sabor del Pacífico is a must-visit spot known for its delicious and unique dishes. The coconut fish soup, rompe colchon (mattress breaker), is a popular choice, although it tends to sell out quickly. The restaurant's braised fish is highly recommended and has been described as the best in Colombia. It's advisable to visit during the week and arrive early to avoid long wait times.
First time eating Cazuela de mariscos / " shrimps / sea food soup" and it's been the best one I've ever had . It has shrimp 🍤🦐, octopus 🦑, fish , mussels and so on. As a side dish it comes with coconut rice, fried plantains and avocado. The price ? Unbeatable, barely $10 Rompe colchón was also tasty but our favorite was the mentioned above.

Rompe colchon was delicious and full of flavour! This was one of my favourite meals in Bogota. The soup also came with a side of rice, avocado and plantains and was very filling.

After watching the Netflix episode of street food, I ventured all the way here to try Mary’s famous romp Colchon, a coconut fish soup served with coconut rice, smashed plantains and a slice of avocado for 28,000. The portion was huge and the taste was not bad. Nice coconut flavour but the fish tasted dry and bland. Quick service eating in the bustling market.

Jim G — Google review
I went to this place because I watch it in a documentary in netflix. Well it was spectacular, I would say is the best braised fish I have ever had. Highly recommended, service is awesome too you get more of what you pay for. We had several plates and everything was out of this world I literally felt that I was in the Pacific side of Colombia. If you go there try to go early before noon and during the week. Do not go during the weeknd because you are gonna have to wait up to 3 hours but it's worth it! The logistics are very disorganized but it's not the restaurants fault, it's because it's located in a market. Everything was served with coconut rice, tostones, salad and fish broth.
Jonnathan D — Google review
Food is super good and the portions are good size. If your not from the area like me, you have to go in between the restaurants out front and up the stairs, then to your right. Definitely worth it!

One of the best meals I had in Colombia. The staff were so friendly, the service fast, and the food was delicious. The Cazeuala de Mariscos was my favorite. We also got a side of patacones with hogao that was really nice. The platters also came with a jug of Agua panela with limón that was refillable, a nice surprise. The atmosphere was great, the kitchen is in full view of all the seating and it looked like everyone was friendly and having fun back there. Super pleasant, kind people. The best part was it came out to less than $10 USD per person. We ordered 4 entrees for the 5 of us, and we thought we wouldn’t finish it all because it was so much food, but it was so delicious we couldn’t help but finish it.

PIANTA is a vegan Italian restaurant located in Chaperino, offering a variety of Italian-style dishes with a plant-based twist. The menu includes options like watermelon tartare and gnocchi in smoked cauliflower sauce, making it an appealing choice for vegans, vegetarians, and those interested in exploring plant-based cuisine. While some visitors found the service to be slow due to understaffing, many praised the helpful and friendly staff.
Great atmosphere, music and service. The fried pizzas were great, a lot of variety, and great presentation, taste and ingredient selection. The tomato soup was ok, it was too acidic and oily for my liking. The chocolate volcano was excellent. The cheesecake had plenty of fruit and the cream was great, the overall taste was good. The cheesecake crumble was too fatty, I think it could be improved. I found they used too much oil for my liking, especially the cheesecake and the soup. However the presentation and ingredients were excellent. The plantain lasagna was excellent and the chocolate cake was good and had a tasty crust. The vegan festival pizza was good, but they have much better offerings. The cost was less than their main plates.

Superb vegan restaurant! Extremely friendly staff, great atmosphere with really good music and the food of course goes beyond and above. I had the tomato soup with an explosion of flavors and the plátano lasagna that it was THE MOST DELICIOUS FOOD I’ve eaten recently. The passion fruit juice with no sugar was the cherry of the cake. Definitely coming back to try the second floor where vegan Mexican food is offered. Don’t fool yourself and check this place out. You won’t regret.
Bruno F — Google review
The aesthetic of the restaurant is gorgeous, intimate but spacious with lovely soft lighting. The service was beyond lovely: great patience, kindness and encouragement was granted to me, a person intent on using very poor Spanish to order (which was unnecessary as the waitress had perfect English). This alone made the visit lovely, but... The food was incredible. We ordered the Pesto Gnocchi and the Cannelloni. The portions were perfect, and delicious. Looking around at other diners proved that ordering pizza or one of the salads was just as worthy of high compliment. The tiramisu was unavailable, but the Berry Cheesecake, shared alongside a strong black coffee was a perfect end to a perfect dining experience. Highly recommend.

My favourite place to eat in Bogota, by far. First and foremost, this is not a touristic place which makes it automatically a special place. Second, it is vegan, but that in Colombia would be exactly what you should look for because of the amazing variations of fruits and veggies available only here and all fresh. Of course you can get an avocado or any other in Europe by do you have any ideas how many types there are and why we get only one or two? Because they can not leepthe fresh for long so we can not really taste the real ones. But you can do here in this amazing little place. Should I mention it is really not expensive at all and the taste is unbelievable? No, will let you try and thank me after. Enjoy!

I tried to eat here because I enjoy vegan food from time to time. However, I found myself deeply uncomfortable and worried because of the pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas posters. I felt vulnerable. The odd thing is I associate Israel with vegan and vegetarian food while finding vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the West Bank is very rare. Why must vegan food be political? It's just nice food. I don't want to be surrounded by posters celebrating extremism and violence.

Restaurante Caldo Parao Tabora is a delightful spot that serves up the quintessential Colombian hangover remedy: caldo. This comforting soup, perfect for breakfast or dinner, comes in two main varieties—caldo de costilla, made with tender beef ribs, and caldo de carne featuring slices of beef. Each bowl is generously filled with hearty ingredients like potatoes, cilantro, garlic, and onion.

If you're wandering through Bogotá and craving a delicious vegan meal without breaking the bank, make sure to stop by Sin Fronteras Vegano Express. This charming little eatery offers an incredible menu del dia for just 12,000 COP, which includes a hearty soup, a main dish bursting with flavor, and refreshing juice—all made with no added sugar! The daily changing menu showcases local Colombian flavors in generous portions that will leave you feeling satisfied.
I am surprised such an amazing place didn't get a review yet. It's like one complete lunch menu for 10,000 pesos. Everyday the menu is different. It's very local, very Colombian, very vegan and very tasty. And the best thing, there is no added sugar at all in the fruit juice. I am still surprised how this place has no reviews for such a price and for such a tasty food with generous portion.
