Market
La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace, also known as Persa, is a popular indoor venue near the National Museum of Colombia. It's famous for its stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as small eateries serving local specialties. The market gained international recognition when it was featured on Netflix's Street Food Latin America. Despite attracting tourists, La Perseverancia remains a favorite among locals, bustling with Colombians during lunchtime.
I really enjoyed my lunch en el Mercado La Perseverancia. Truth to tell, it’s not always my favorite to be bombarded by people holding menus trying to get me to eat at their restaurant. However, after making a circle around the place and everyone was doing it, I ended up with the first one that I saw. He said the magic words: sopa de mariscos en leche de coco con queso…or seafood soup in coconut milk with cheese. It was served with coconut rice, plantain, and avocado, y agua con gas. And it was absolutely delicious! I don’t remember the name, but it was right next to the stall with the famous celebrity Master chef. The live music was also very nice.

Part of a stop in our Food Tour. It's interesting to see a local food market with various fast foods being served. Lots of locals with families. The dish we had was delicious (not oily or salty) and filling. Go there if you wish to see a piece of authentic Bogota food scene.
Susan R — Google review
If you find yourself in Bogotá and are craving some delicious food without breaking the bank, you absolutely need to check out this market! Trust me, you’ll love it!
John ( — Google review
An old 2 story building, essentially open air, with multiple independent small kiosks. The food focuses mainly on typical Colombian cuisine; various soups, ajiaco, meat dishes. A couple of fresh vegetable kiosk and one live plants kiosk. It is typically crowded at lunch. Not all of the food kiosks are open during the weekdays but all are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available and there is adequate seating.
INDIANCREEKHILL — Google review
Perfect place to sample local dishes, albeit they can be quite pricey in comparison to other places. Not much options for fruit / vegetable stalls but we enjoyed our time here nonetheless. Samples ajiaco for 22,000 pesos then the day after a mini bandeja paisa for 20,000 pesos as a menu Del dia which was reasonable.
Kara H — Google review
A vibrant, crowed, magnetic gastronomic mecca in the heart of Bogotá that provides visitors a means to taste traditional Colombian foods like beef broth, bean and vegetable soups, amazing fried fish and ceviche—as prepared by chefs from every corner of the country. You can also buy local produce at the stalls adjacent and support many small vendors. I definitely recommend visiting!
Nelsia B — Google review
We’ve decided to come to this place after watching the Netflix series! What can I say. Food is amazing, so much flavours, prices are reasonable and service is also good. Highly recommended it. Also, try to avoid weekends as you might be to queue for a bit long. Overall this is a really good place if you’re looking for quality-quantity food and also Ema very friendly environment.
Alberto R — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace during my recent trip to Bogotá, and it was an absolute delight. This hidden gem is a true reflection of the city's vibrant culture and diverse culinary scene. First and foremost, the marketplace is a feast for the senses. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in a symphony of colors, aromas, and sounds. The lively atmosphere is infectious, and it's clear that this place holds a special spot in the hearts of locals. One of the highlights of my visit was the food. The variety of culinary offerings is staggering. Whether you're a fan of Colombian cuisine or looking to explore exotic flavors from around the world, you won't be disappointed. The empanadas, arepas, and tamales are must-tries, and the fresh fruit stands are a refreshing treat on a hot day. What sets La Perseverancia apart is the sense of community. It's not just a marketplace; it's a place where people gather, connect, and share stories. The friendly vendors are more than happy to engage in conversations and introduce you to their culture through food. Navigating the marketplace can be a bit overwhelming due to its size, but that's all part of the adventure. You might stumble upon hidden stalls offering unique crafts, traditional sweets, or even live music performances. The cleanliness and organization of the marketplace are commendable, and there are ample seating areas to enjoy your meal or simply take in the bustling atmosphere. Overall, La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace is a must-visit when you're in Bogotá. It's an authentic, immersive experience that will leave you with lasting memories of Colombian culture and cuisine. Don't forget to bring your appetite and an open heart to truly appreciate everything this remarkable place has to offer.

Restaurant
Crepes & Waffles is a popular dining option in Colombia, known for its pleasant ambiance and friendly service. The restaurant's decor creates a charming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely meal with family. With over one hundred locations across the country, this signature brand offers great food at affordable prices. The menu features a variety of creative crepe recipes, from classic ham and egg options to more elaborate choices like the Parisienne and the Sensation Colombia.
Great place, welcoming and amazing food. Worth every dollar. The staff is friendly and well trained and the place has many nice seating. I highly recommend it!!!
Simo C — Google review
Great food at a convenient price. This is a signature restaurant brand in Colombia with over one hundred locations nationwide. Service in this particular location is good but not great. Cozy bread serving is very special. Creative crepes recipes go from very basic ham and egg varieties to complex ones such as the Parisienne and the Sensation Colombia. Portions are generous and waitresses are friendly.
Glen T — Google review
The food looks nice and tastes good for a reasonable price. My issue is that after sitting us down and putting down fork/knives on the table, more than 15 minutes before anyone acknowledges us and asks us what we want to order.
Yuejiang C — Google review
Always a good option in Bogotá and in any city of Colombia. This particular Crepes has a very nice decoration that plays with the sunset and the lights of the place. The service is always something that many other places have to see and to copy to their own business. This time was for a delicious ice cream, tea, and a quiet good coffee. A very good space to chat with your family and let the time pass while you have a relaxing moment. The outside place also I want to say congratulations to be pet friendly with the people that go with their fury friends. Congratulations to the place.
JOSE C — Google review
After lunch in the area, a good dessert is a must! The sweet crepes were delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Their inspiring business model, focused on inclusion by hiring women to support them, is more than enough reason to visit. Definitely a must-visit anywhere in the world where there’s a Crepes & Waffles!
Moshé S — Google review
One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Crêpes & Waffles. I arrived straight from the airport, exhausted and just wanting a snack. No one welcomed me - I had to wander around while the staff stood in a corner laughing with each other. I asked if there was a table with a power outlet so I could charge my phone. They laughed and said “we don’t have.” I stepped out for a bit, came back, sat at the coworking table, and plugged my phone into my laptop to charge. Waited ages for someone to take my order - only for the security guy to come over and ask me to move to a smaller table. I said sure, but the table was filthy, so I moved again. Then, suddenly, they did have outlets. 😂 Finally got someone’s attention, placed my order, and 10 minutes later they came back to tell me they didn’t have the crepe I ordered. The cherry on top? One of them walked up while I had my laptop out and slid a paper placemat underneath my laptop mid-use. Super disorganized, inattentive, and just bad energy overall. Wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.

This is one of the most classical place to have a casual dinner in Bogotá. I really recommend the ice cream bar with a lot of fruit flavors.

Greek restaurant
Restaurante Teo Estiatorio is a delightful haven for lovers of authentic Greek cuisine. Run by the warm and welcoming Theodoros, this charming eatery offers a menu filled with traditional dishes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of Greece. Guests can indulge in classics like moussaka, saganaki, Greek salad, and crispy fried zucchini—all prepared with care and attention to detail.
It has a delicious menu, a young chef in charge that is making the difference.

I mean is not a Greek restaurant is a hotel restaurant that serves Greek food, not great value for the money, no especial decorations. Meh I expected better you don’t need to make reservation.

Worst experience in a restaurant in Bogota at least for these year. First I asked for lamb chops and they where terrible can’t eat them…. Then the waitress came to the table with bad attitude and told me the lamb was ok, that I didn’t know nothing about food….. Then they told me to order a different dish so I order a medium rare tender loin, I just get a freeze pice of meat….. Finally the check was really expensive and I had to pay for everything…… Not coming back never.

Teo is a good elegant restaurant for a family meal, in a peaceful sector, let the light through the man doors; ask for some.greek classics, some family and friends recipes from the owner, pretty good and creammy humus. My only complain is such a nice place deserve to be more adventurous in cuisine flavors are traditional classic, classic methods and flavors i certainly expected more passion

Colombian restaurant
Restaurante La Herencia, situated in the vibrant Chapinero neighborhood, offers a delightful experience of traditional Colombian cuisine. The restaurant provides an opportunity to savor a variety of authentic dishes such as pork rind arepas and bandeja paisa, all served family-style. With its sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance, La Herencia takes diners on a gastronomic journey through Colombia's diverse culinary landscape.
Excellent spot. Super cute and comfortable with Colombian specialties. We came for the ajiaco, but it turns out if you come for breakfast, you can only order from the breakfast menu. Make sure you show up at the right time for any particular food you want. Yucca waffle: Crispy and chewy. A bit tough to cut with the butter knife, but delicious. Changua: Milky, creamy, and with tons of flsvor, mainly from the added cheese. Didn't have onions which I've seen elsewhere. Colombian sampler: Get this. Basically one of every appetizer, and they're all fabulous, as is the ají. Lemonade with coconut: Bracing and tart, the way I like it. If you want sweet, look elsewhere. Lemonade with yerba buena: Mild and minty. Also lovely. Service was friendly and attentive. Meal was leisurely and unrushed. Would repeat for lunch.
Beecat — Google review
We ordered to share between 2 people: Ajiaco Soup,(33.5k) Cazuela Ranchera(37.5k) and Lengua en Salsa Criolla(42.5k). The waitress was super kind and proactively requested the kitchen to serve each dish in 2 separate plates.. so its like we got 6 dishes. Quantities are good to share between 2 people if you are choosing different dishes. We have good appetite so we ordered 3 dishes and we couldnt finish everything. Recommended. May not be the best but it is good.
Oriol P — Google review
The food was good, but I was expecting the chicharron to be crispier. Service was great.
Helen Y — Google review
Great place to taste Colombian dishes in a more sophisticated way. Generous portions for a good price. The waiters where always giving excellent service without the need of selling us extra things, that's a plus. You'd probably need to contact them before for reservation but it totally worth it. I went with my 11 family members and we really had a great experience. Hope they keep it that way.
Camilo G — Google review
Friendly and polite service, good for and drink options. The food is tasty, but not extraordinary.
Alon C — Google review
Picada was good, specially the steak. Unfortunately they can’t cook a proper morcilla. I asked them to toast it a little more and they used a different method which I won’t date to say was a microwave. The ambience is nice, mostly decorated with old books and random seating choices.
Alejandro B — Google review
Very nice restaurant to try Colombian food. Nicely decorated, the team was very friendly. A special mention to Mario, the manager, who was able to take the order in English and give recommendations. I found the chicken curry bowl particularly delicious. There is no doubt you will be satisfied and you won’t be hungry as there will be loads of food in your plate. I highly recommend this restaurant, thanks for this nice moment.
Yanis B — Google review
One of my Go-to places for Colombian food. It's not your typical restaurant, this one is high end. Prices are above average but the place is beautiful and the service and customer experience is also above average. For food, I love their appetizers.. make sure you try them.. ask your server to guide you based on your likes... Some food has lots of local produce and local beans and potatoes...this can be hard on those not familiar with "earthy flavors"... Their desserts deserve a special mention... try them... they won't disappoint. * very good for business lunch with foreigners wanting to try local dishes. * not casual

Restaurant
Café Bar Universal is a charming restaurant in Bogota that offers a cozy and lively atmosphere. Chef Andrius Didziulis created a smart menu that changes almost daily to showcase the diversity of Colombian products. The restaurant's European cafe-inspired setting features a patio with long walls, palm trees, and an open sky, giving it a unique ambiance. It also serves as an event venue with stylish contemporary decor and artwork.
Café Bar Universal offers an enjoyable dinner experience with a nice buzzy ambiance at night, though it is quite dark. The appetizers were delicious, and the sourdough bread was tasty despite having a tight crumb. However, the timing of courses was rushed, with entrees arriving before we finished the appetizers. The menu had several items unavailable, and specials were only mentioned after we had already read the menu and strategized the meal. Wine options by the glass are limited to house wine, which is disappointing. Despite these issues, the food was well-executed, and I would return.

This was our favourite restaurant in Bogotá! Amazing ambience, great decor (very young vibe and hip) and the food was absolutely divine! We tried a couple of dishes to share and they were all incredible. The same goes for their staff, super friendly and very helpful. We had the chance to see an artist playing in the premises and it was just charming. Would definitely return and will definitely recommend it to everyone.

I am overdue on a review of this place. I found this place when I first moved to bogota and fell in love with the space, the ambiance and the food. Do make reservations, cocktail menu is amazing, customer service is always attentive and they complementary. What I most enjoy is that they have their classic dishes but always are offering other options based on the season. I miss it and can’t wait to go back, but I can also recommend their delivery menu which also provides that good service and eclectic options.

MASA 105 is a popular bakery, cafe, and pastry shop located in Bogota. Founded by sisters Silvana and Mariana Villegas, who previously worked in New York City restaurants, MASA 105 offers a wide range of delectable treats from pastries like NYC-style doughnuts to sandwiches, tartines, and eggs. The establishment has three locations on calles 70, 81, and 105.
I’ve gone to MASA in the morning after a workout to eat their scrambled eggs and their green smoothie. Best scrambled eggs and smoothie in the area. It’s also a good spot to get some work done if you’re working remotely, try their salads!
Bryan H — Google review
Another great bakery in Bogota with fresh sourdough bread, a great selection of foods and a bright interior (+ a nice outdoor patio). I’ve been to this Masa multiple times and really like it for their food and atmosphere - both for breakfast or lunch. It’s one of the nicest Masa locations I know and has lots of seating and is always bustling with people. I would give it 4 stars, just because there’s a few things that could be improved. The main thing is service. Despite seeming to have a lot of staff, it takes a long time to order and sometimes we had to ask multiple people before someone took our order. And no one comes by again to ask if you want any additional food or drinks, even if you’ve been sitting there with empty drinks or table for a while. Usually I don’t care so much, but I really noticed it here. Regarding breakfast, I really like the shakshuka (with an extra order of bread) and the avocado toast. The pancakes looked really nice as well. I tried the French toast - it was ok, but not my favorite. When it comes to drinks, their coffee is good, but their almond milk isn’t the best. It was foamy, but it made the coffee a bit bland in my opinion. Aside from that, I can highly recommend everything from their bakery. The bread is really great!
Sophia Q — Google review
The best scrambled eggs I have ever tried, so moist and fluffy. The sourdough bread and pastries are all very delicious! They have everything you need for a perfect brunch. Highly recommended. Jeisson was our server the first time I visited and he was amazing. Diego was my server the next day ( I had to go back again) and he was very attentive and so very patient with our large party. Thank you team MASA for the high quality products and service you provide on a daily basis. Keep up the excellent work!

Best pastries and coffee in Bogotá. This place became a favorite to us during our visit to Colombia. They have a good variety in their menu for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Pastries are awesome as well as their coffee. Kudos to Ivan, the barista, as he is quick, crafty and know what he is doing (the only one in charge of the coffee area with hundreds of orders per day and he delivers!). Breakfast burger was a favorite as well as the fruit bowls, fresh squeeze mandarin juice and French toast. Great quality and great service. Keep it up Masa, we'll be back!
Sergio H — Google review
Best breakfast and brunch in Bogota. Super recommended: The Tartine de aguacate & huevo; Danish de pecans & caramel and of course the Flat white or the cappuccino. AMAZING!!!
Hans N — Google review
Above and beyond! The place was super busy and they ran out of some dishes however it didn't feel like an issue, the server came in handy with her suggestions.
Rainel M — Google review
1. The food is good, 2. Services are good too, but the washroom was in maintenance during our visit, while there was not replacement measures. The rest are good. 3. The atmosphere is great, a good place to have chat or reading or just chill; 4. We order 2 dishes with 1 fruits juice and 1 coffee cost at 62000 COP (16USD). Recommended to come.

First review: Absolutely loved this place ! Food was outstanding and fairly priced We had the breakfast burger Salmon bagel Croquets French toasts (tasted more like banana bread we preferred the pancakes) Orange grapefruit juice - this was delicious Avocado lemonade Only negative is the insane line Second review: I had originally left an all 5 star review but I went back and ordered the same thing because we loved it so much the first time but the ingredients were not fresh service was very slow I’m not sure what happened you can see my second bagel in the last photo

This charming eatery offers an impressive array of Lebanese dishes that are both flavorful and satisfying. The attentive staff takes pride in explaining each dish, ensuring you know exactly what to expect from your meal. I got the Hommos and Plato Libanes to share with one other person. It was a large amount of food and the hummus was excellent. We also got fruit juice and really enjoyed it. I strongly recommend this restaurant. The accept card, cash, and transferencia. The bathroom was also clean and well stocked.

The food is good, there's not too much difference in between the dishes, just change the meat, one person serving all the tables, it was not too busy but either way it took so long,

Imo hummus tasted like it had mayonnaise in it... Libanesse food varies from family to family but this one is not my kind of libanesse food. Sorry

La Plaza de Andrés - El Retiro is a vibrant dining spot that offers a unique blend of traditional Colombian cuisine and a lively atmosphere. Known for its cafeteria-style service, it allows diners to enjoy quick meals without sacrificing quality. The bandeja paisa here is perfectly portioned, featuring tender chicharrón and plantains cut into bite-sized pieces, complemented by avocado drizzled with zesty salad dressing.
Excellent place to eat empanadas and a local beer. Great atmosphere...be patient with the servers...

Very nice family restaurant! They have everything you can possibly imagine on the menu. Everything we ordered was delicious and the prices were very good. The service was good but not the quickest especially for drinks. The staff was really nice, helpful and polite. They also have english menu’s which is perfect for tourists. They decor is very busy but very nice. They also have live bands playing music at different hours of the day but especially at night time. They have a giant screen section to watch sports. GOOD JOB 👏🏻
Sacha P — Google review
I recently dined at the restaurant and had an exceptional experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with a charming blend of traditional and contemporary decor. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure every detail was perfect. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each more tempting than the last. I started with the tapas selection, and every bite was a burst of flavor. The main course, a perfectly cooked Pollo, was the highlight of the evening. The ingredients were fresh and the presentation was impeccable. The drink selection was equally impressive, with a variety of fresh juices and cocktails that complemented the meal beautifully. We ended the meal with a delicious dessert Almojabana cake that was the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful dining experience. Overall, I recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Highly recommend this place for an awesome experience- good food, drinks, and vibes! The pepper tenderloin is my favorite! The line could be long but well worth it! A plus is that chef Nicolas was super awesome!

Fantastic night of Fabulous food. Though their menu is large My Colombian dishes I ordered were Muy Bien😋👍. It's a very Colorful entertaining experience for a date, friends & events!

I was waiting for over half an hour before any of the 6 waiters came to ask for order. The food was ok at best and the portion was like for a kid. Can't really recommend
Pavel W — Google review
It's very noticeable that this place has lost its quality. It took us an hour to get a sangria and a water, another half hour for the food to arrive, and almost 40 minutes for the bill. The waiter was quite rude when I told him he had to remove a dish from the bill that was never brought to us.

I didn't enjoy that much La plaza as the main restaurant. The service was super slow and the food wasnt that good. The cocktail was 👍

Vegan restaurant
Elektra Punk & Food is a vibrant and edgy restaurant that offers an array of vegan options. The decor is punk-inspired, featuring a bold color scheme and eclectic artwork. Despite its punk aesthetic, the food is highly praised for its deliciousness, attracting both vegans and non-vegan diners alike. The menu includes items like tacos, bruschetta, risotto, and desserts that have received rave reviews.
Everything was great, the STICKY RICE dessert was one of the best i've had. The mushroom sandwich was great, it may be too simple for some. The pistachio cookie was decent, but a little expensive for what it was, specially compared to the STICKY RICE. Lattes were great. Service was excellent. The pear salad was fantastic. The cauliflower tacos were good, although they were kind of oily.
Juan C — Google review
This fully vegan restaurant is a fantastic spot for comfort food lovers! The menu leans a bit on the greasier side, but everything we had was really good. The birria was hands-down the favorite—it’s a must-try. The portions were on the smaller side, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing since it keeps you from overindulging. The atmosphere is definitely unique, as it’s more of a punk bar/hangout spot. The music was a little loud, but it fits the vibe they’re going for. Service was on the slower side, but given that it was a weekend night, it was understandable. Overall, a fun place to enjoy great vegan comfort food!
Cynthia B — Google review
Food was ok but very small portions. Service was excellent. The ambience was ok. All vegeterian options.
Elizabeth L — Google review
I had one of the top 3 salads that I have had in my life here. It was their pear salad. Also had a very nice drink that was like a whiskey sour but used Lechee fruit that was also very good. They didn't play any punk music but instead they did have some nice new wave type music which I also enjoy. Great place with two thumbs up from me, I could eat that salad many more times before getting bored
JD F — Google review
I am not sure what punk food is but this place certainly has amazing grub. The fact that the cuisine is vegan is just a plus, in its own right it’s just plain delicious. Even non-vegan guests in our party truly enjoyed it. The decor is obviously punk and seeing it from outside I would not have thought of going in but I had heard great comments. And I’m glad that I did! We tried the tacos, bruschetta, risotto and deserts. All amazing. Staff is friendly too.
David G — Google review
Oh what a find this place is. Punk + Food is exactly what they are. Let's start with the music. B-52s Love Shack, emf Unbelievable, David Bowie and more. We ordered a few appetizers. Portions are on the small side but very tasty. Cool decor inside, especially in the walls. All vegan. Enjoy!
Mike L — Google review
Hot Dog: good flavors and textures, though the cheese was salty Birria Tacos: decent Mushroom Sandwich: good. The bun and mushrooms were warm, and the aioli went well with the mushrooms. Nachos: decent
Jason O — Google review
The food is incredible! I’m not vegan, but tend to lean that way and randomly found this place because it was close to the hotel. We went here two nights in a row for dinner. That’s how much we loved it! I’m bummed we didn’t make it again before leaving. Check it out if you’re in the area and love good food and punk music.

I have been in the restaurant twice this week and it was consistent. However the menu is a bit short. They need to develop more main dishes and desserts. The pistachio has room for improvement. I tried a similar dessert at Selma. The Chicken is cooked perfectly.

Was really looking forward to this place. Highly recommended by social media. Arrived and very quickly the staff were fantastic. Super friendly, super efficient until…. Additional drinks took very long times with several reminders needed to get them. Then my partner was served his main over 20 minutes before mine. Super frustrating as we didn’t order any starters either. No apology. Nothing. Then it came to the bill. We were charged for a starter that we didn’t ask for. And they really tried to haggle us to pay for it even though we categorically did not ask for this. Then came the charge for my main. Which I did pay but was completely disappointed there was no apology or anything. If this were to happen in London complimentary items or this would have been taken off. Super disappointed in this meal and we won’t be returning.

(Translated by Google) The customer service was extremely disappointing. I would not return or recommend this place. I had made a reservation in advance for a table of six in the back dining room, and on the morning of the reservation, they confirmed that everything was in order. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, they offered us a table in the entrance, in a terrible location, without any explanation or apology. I was with an 83-year-old, and the situation was truly uncomfortable. It's disrespectful to customers and demonstrates a lack of professionalism in managing reservations. Their customer service is appalling and does not reflect the prices they charge.
