Farmers' market
Paloquemao Fruit Market is a bustling local farmer's market featuring an indoor hall where visitors can find a wide variety of fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and flowers. The market offers an abundance of Colombian specialties such as the lulo, granadilla, and guanabana. Visitors can also indulge in local delicacies like tamal made from corn flour and stuffed with chicken, pork belly, rice and egg.
Honestly, I travelled all the way from Toronto Canada just to visit this fruit market for the first time! My entire trip was based on coming here everyday and eating beautiful natural fruits and natural foods from mother earth. This is the best fruit market I have ever visited !!! If you ever have the chance to visit Bogotá this market is a must visit. I would recommend to visit on the weekdays though as it is much less crowded than the weekends. But the prices are amazing and you will see so many vibrant and tasty foods you probably have never seen before. Enjoy!!!
Tyrell B — Google review
You have to come here if you enjoy fresh food markets. So many different varieties of fruit!! So fun and amazing to try. It's pricier than buying at Exito but you can purchase one of each to try. They'll overcharge you as a tourist but it's part of the experience. I highly recommend feijoa and achacha as they are delicious! Ask them to pick one that's ready to eat. The sugar apple was okay but compared to what you get in Taiwan it's not nearly as tasty. Some fruits I wish I had also gotten but didn't! - Rambutan - Sugar mangoes (small lil mangos that goes for 6.99/lb in Toronto) This market is huge btw. You could easily spend a day here.
Isabella — Google review
We enjoyed 16 types of different fruits in this market! We did not come with a tour because the timing did not fit so we just stopped at this uncle’s fruit stall. We had the most enjoyable time ever! *we told him that we have X amount of money left because we will be leaving for the airport, just give us what he deemed was appropriate:)

Must visit this place as it is not far from city center. If you're visiting Bogotá, this is a must-see destination. It's the largest market in the city, offering an impressive variety of fresh, local fruits and vegetables, along with some imported products from other countries. I highly recommend it to anyone exploring the area. Stroll through the vibrant stalls and sample a range of unique Colombian fruits. You'll also find plenty of restaurants serving delicious local dishes.
Eldar — Google review
A great place to visit and experience something unique to Bogotá. If you’re wanting to just look around, buy some fruit or buy a meal there’s lots to see in this market. You could easily spend 30-60 minutes walking around and buying exotic fruits to try or visit a cafe for something to eat. It is one of the more expensive markets in Bogotá but still a fun experience.
Henry S — Google review
Brilliant market in Bogota, large in size and has ample fresh tropical fruits, vegetables, coffee and herbal products. There are plenty of places to eat at reasonable prices. We really enjoyed the atmosphere here and the locals were really welcoming. Cannot be missed if in Bogota.
Kara H — Google review
You can find fruit in fruterias that is not much more expensive. And the vendors here constantly try to rip you off. They quote prices in price per kg and then measure in pounds and use the price per kg. Many vendors excessively overcharge you if you are a foreigner, sometimes even more than supermarket prices. Go here to watch the market. But not to buy.
Rob W — Google review
I went here as a tourist doing a fruit tour. It was really cool to see the different markets: fruit, flowers, meat, etc. Inside the market felt totally safe, but the outside crowd felt a little less welcoming to tourists. I wondered why the tour guide wanted to meet somewhere else just to ride to the market together and she said it was for safety reasons. Our guide also waited for all of our rides to arrive before she left, which was nice but kind of made me feel like she knew something that I didn't. Made it home safe though and saw a cool market with local and exotic items so it was worth seeing on my trip to Bogota.

The Usaquén Flea Market is a vibrant weekly event in Bogota, Colombia, where outdoor vendors gather to sell a variety of goods including arts, crafts, food, and gifts. The market takes place in the charming cobblestone streets of Usaquén and offers a diverse array of products from luxurious jewelry to artisanal handbags. Fun and festive street atmosphere! The walk is cool and there are plenty of places to stop to eat or grab a local snack. Sit in the park across from the church and have a relaxing time! Cheers!

Loved this! Once you get to the end make a left and keep going this place is absolutely huge it just goes on and on. Also from one of the food vendors inside of this flea market we had Some absolutely wonderful Arepas and empanadas, I'm talking world class from a group of little ladies just selling them right there in the market! And right next door is the Santa Barbara Mall which is also huge!
Micki M — Google review
A lovely place to wander around and spend Sunday morning. The area is quite busy and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. The vendors offer a good variety of handcrafted items and antiques at affordable prices. It was hard to not purchase too much as I only have a backpack and limited space. It is far from the historic district but feasible by uber motorbike and worth a visit to explore local artisans and purchase handmade gifts.
Brooklyn W — Google review
One of my favorite places to visit in Bogota Some of the most beautiful hand made items I have ever found, beautiful street art and delicious food. Definitely a 'don't miss stop'

So many great, friendly vendors and authentic products to choose from! Highly recommend while in Bogota
Megan L — Google review
The Usaquèn Flea Market offered a delightful experience. In contrast to bustling markets elsewhere, like in Cartagena, where vendors can be overwhelming, the atmosphere here was inviting and accommodating. Vendors were genuinely helpful, allowing shoppers ample space to browse and purchase at their own pace, creating a relaxed ambiance. Moreover, the area felt secure, adding to the overall comfort. I highly recommend it for a leisurely Sunday spent exploring handcrafted treasures and sampling delicious cuisine. Don't miss the chance to explore the charming neighborhood as well!

Mercado De Las Pulgas De San Alejo is a bustling flea market held every Sunday in Bogota. It's the largest flea market in the city, attracting around 40,000 visitors each week. The market offers a wide variety of items including antiques, vintage home decor, bronze crafts, toys, fashion items, pottery, collectibles and much more. Vendors also sell unique products such as coca leaf items.
As well the official fenced in area, as well as the surrounding street are worth exploring. One can find amazing deals and souvenirs that are way less touristy. Most places agree to lower prices if you know how to haggle.

Happy to have found another Sunday flea market in Bogota ✨ This one seems a little less commercial (and therefore a bit cheaper) and has a variety of stands - from secondhand items and trinkets to upcycled fashion, art and small business jewelry. It’s a nice place to go after enjoying the ciclovia, as it is located by the Carrera 7. They even have a little bike parking spot where you can leave your bike supervised while strolling through the market stands. There is also a little corner with food and drink stands.
Sophia — Google review
This flea market focused on sale of inexpensive items. I would not recommend it for tourists.

An authentic flea market open on weekends next to the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO). Wander past stalls offering books, domestic items (appliances, typewriters, telephones, toys), and a plethora of objects, artesanal teas and jams, etc. It can be crowded, and there are police guards situated in strategic locations around the site. It is walking distance from the Parque Milenio and the Planetarium.
Anthony A — Google review
Cute little pulga with lots to see. It’s only available on the weekend and on ‘Dias festivos’ so if you’re in town you should definitely go. Lots to see and you’re bound to take something home. I purchased a beautiful Shakira bead bracelet and a ring. It’s ideal to bring cash, yet a few spots do accept visa. There are Restaurants nearby and street vendors right out front. FYI: There are only two restrooms and there was a long wait. Closes at 5pm.

Market
La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace, also known as Persa, is a popular indoor venue near the National Museum of Colombia. It's famous for its stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as small eateries serving local specialties. The market gained international recognition when it was featured on Netflix's Street Food Latin America. Despite attracting tourists, La Perseverancia remains a favorite among locals, bustling with Colombians during lunchtime.
I really enjoyed my lunch en el Mercado La Perseverancia. Truth to tell, it’s not always my favorite to be bombarded by people holding menus trying to get me to eat at their restaurant. However, after making a circle around the place and everyone was doing it, I ended up with the first one that I saw. He said the magic words: sopa de mariscos en leche de coco con queso…or seafood soup in coconut milk with cheese. It was served with coconut rice, plantain, and avocado, y agua con gas. And it was absolutely delicious! I don’t remember the name, but it was right next to the stall with the famous celebrity Master chef. The live music was also very nice.

Part of a stop in our Food Tour. It's interesting to see a local food market with various fast foods being served. Lots of locals with families. The dish we had was delicious (not oily or salty) and filling. Go there if you wish to see a piece of authentic Bogota food scene.
Susan R — Google review
If you find yourself in Bogotá and are craving some delicious food without breaking the bank, you absolutely need to check out this market! Trust me, you’ll love it!
John ( — Google review
An old 2 story building, essentially open air, with multiple independent small kiosks. The food focuses mainly on typical Colombian cuisine; various soups, ajiaco, meat dishes. A couple of fresh vegetable kiosk and one live plants kiosk. It is typically crowded at lunch. Not all of the food kiosks are open during the weekdays but all are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available and there is adequate seating.
INDIANCREEKHILL — Google review
Perfect place to sample local dishes, albeit they can be quite pricey in comparison to other places. Not much options for fruit / vegetable stalls but we enjoyed our time here nonetheless. Samples ajiaco for 22,000 pesos then the day after a mini bandeja paisa for 20,000 pesos as a menu Del dia which was reasonable.
Kara H — Google review
A vibrant, crowed, magnetic gastronomic mecca in the heart of Bogotá that provides visitors a means to taste traditional Colombian foods like beef broth, bean and vegetable soups, amazing fried fish and ceviche—as prepared by chefs from every corner of the country. You can also buy local produce at the stalls adjacent and support many small vendors. I definitely recommend visiting!
Nelsia B — Google review
We’ve decided to come to this place after watching the Netflix series! What can I say. Food is amazing, so much flavours, prices are reasonable and service is also good. Highly recommended it. Also, try to avoid weekends as you might be to queue for a bit long. Overall this is a really good place if you’re looking for quality-quantity food and also Ema very friendly environment.
Alberto R — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace during my recent trip to Bogotá, and it was an absolute delight. This hidden gem is a true reflection of the city's vibrant culture and diverse culinary scene. First and foremost, the marketplace is a feast for the senses. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in a symphony of colors, aromas, and sounds. The lively atmosphere is infectious, and it's clear that this place holds a special spot in the hearts of locals. One of the highlights of my visit was the food. The variety of culinary offerings is staggering. Whether you're a fan of Colombian cuisine or looking to explore exotic flavors from around the world, you won't be disappointed. The empanadas, arepas, and tamales are must-tries, and the fresh fruit stands are a refreshing treat on a hot day. What sets La Perseverancia apart is the sense of community. It's not just a marketplace; it's a place where people gather, connect, and share stories. The friendly vendors are more than happy to engage in conversations and introduce you to their culture through food. Navigating the marketplace can be a bit overwhelming due to its size, but that's all part of the adventure. You might stumble upon hidden stalls offering unique crafts, traditional sweets, or even live music performances. The cleanliness and organization of the marketplace are commendable, and there are ample seating areas to enjoy your meal or simply take in the bustling atmosphere. Overall, La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace is a must-visit when you're in Bogotá. It's an authentic, immersive experience that will leave you with lasting memories of Colombian culture and cuisine. Don't forget to bring your appetite and an open heart to truly appreciate everything this remarkable place has to offer.

Monserrate, a mountain located in the center of Bogota, is a popular destination for both pilgrims and tourists. At 3,152 meters high, it offers stunning panoramic views of the capital city. The mountain is home to the Sanctuary of Monserrate and features expansive gardens perfect for leisurely strolls. Additionally, visitors can enjoy dining at exclusive restaurants offering local and international cuisine.
Well maintained and provides incredible views over Bogota - you appreciate the size and the flatness of the city from above! We hiked up (around 1 hour and 1000+ steps) & hiked back down again. Free entrance. Well maintained paths with small shops on route selling drinks, fruits, foods. There is a market at the top selling lunches and coffee along with local products. It is a busy route. Be aware the route is closed on a Tuesday & the last ascent it 1pm - last descent is 4pm.
Kara H — Google review
Liked the place, used aerial tramway while climbing up, awesome views, nice church, bit crowded though, due to it decided to walk down instead of waiting in the queue for tram. There are small shops available all the way down for snaks & drinks.
Balaji V — Google review
I highly recommend going in the morning and buying tickets in advance online. I went at 10:00 on a weekday, and saved about 20 minutes by skipping the ticket line. When I came down around 11:30, the lines were so long, even if you bought tickets in advance you would still be waiting. This is the only tourist attraction in Colombia I’ve done without vendors hassling the whole time. There is a barricade by the entrance, so once you cross it they’ll leave you alone. There are a handful on the hiking trail, but they are not aggressive at all. This can be a very spiritual experience. There was a church having mass when I went, are there is a Way of the Cross. If you are religious at all, I would encourage you to lean into it and use this time for reflection and worship. If not, you can definitely skip all of the religious stuff. It should go without saying, but it’s 3100m/10,000ft in elevation, so if you live at sea level, be prepared for a very strenuous walk. But there are restaurants and food vendors, so if you need to take a break and get some food or drink, you can.
Nick M — Google review
Highly recommend! Visited on a Saturday afternoon in October and barely had to wait. Took the tram up and the gondola down — I’d definitely suggest that combo. By the time we came down around 5 p.m., there was a long line for the gondola going up. I actually wish I’d planned to walk down; once at the top, I realized it would’ve been a beautiful route. There’s also a lovely church up there with several services throughout the day, very welcoming atmosphere.
M R — Google review
Sure the view is amazing and the area offers beautiful bird walks and a nice Cafe Santa Clara! But: 1) they close the stairs down at 4.15pm so you have to take one of the other options. 2) they close the funicular at the same time which means an hour in line on the weekend. Or... Go to Santa Clara and have a drink and watch birds until the line shrinks after 17:30.
Wouter B — Google review
Worth the drive, although you must pay attention to how the navigation takes you to the parking lot. The view is great, there’s also a bunch of places to get coffee and a bite.
Jesse S — Google review
Paid for our tickets quickly and waited about, probably less then 20 minutes to go up. I was very nervous about getting on the cable car but once you get in, honestly it's not bad, if anything The View helps. If you can only do two things and Bogota make sure this is one of them!
Micki M — Google review
I made an impulse decision to move my visit up one day because the sun came out. The wait was about an hour and it started to rain. Fear not, it cleared up by the time I headed up in the cable car, and it was beautiful from the top. Since I had only been in Bogotá for 24 hours, I opted to hike down instead of hiking up. It was still quite an experience! I do not have any health issues, but there were some people that I passed who were questioning their decision about 30 minutes in. It was a fun hour hike descending about 2,000 feet!

Pasaje Rivas, located in the historic La Candelaria district of Bogota, is a bustling marketplace with over 120 years of history. This labyrinthine complex is filled with narrow passageways and crooked corridors that house a variety of stalls selling everything from handmade furniture, clothing, and artwork to traditional Colombian ponchos and leather goods. Bargaining is acceptable here, adding to the authentic experience.
You can find excellent Colombian handicrafts here at good prices. There are plenty of options and a wide variety of shops, each with something different to offer. It’s a great place to explore if you’re looking for authentic souvenirs or unique gifts.

Charming market/souk in the old downtown area of Bogota. Good variety of items. A bit more expensive than elsewhere but the quality may be better on the wares.
Jim L — Google review
Great and colorful market with variety of local goods, mostly hand crafted. You can really find everything there if you have enough time and patience to check all the shops. Lovely and friendly sellers and no harassment. Safe enough within the market, but street outside is crazy and very busy, so mind your belongings.
Laelia P — Google review
I felt this was not cheap, price-wise, and it is more targeted toward those who can bring big items with them. A lot of objects for the home, furniture, etc. These were beautiful!!! I got this recommended to me a lot, and ended up not buying anything. For me personally, it was not worth it, but also, I wasn't going to buy any of the bigger items they sell as I couldn't bring them home, so keep that in mind.

The Pasaje Rivas in Bogotá is a historic venue that celebrates Colombian tradition and culture through exquisite crafts and artifacts. Established 126 years ago, it hosts the city's largest craft exhibition. Originally intended as a high-end commercial center, it evolved into a warehouse due to sanitation concerns. Today, the Pasaje Rivas stands as a well-preserved architectural treasure and one of Bogotá's oldest markets. Visitors encounter a diverse range of traditional games, crafts, and decorative items directly from artisans. The experience offers both a glimpse into Colombia's cultural heritage and a chance to support local artisans.

Nice little market. As markets go, it is nothing special. This was part of a tour and I probably wouldn't stop here on my own, but it is a good example of local markets in Columbia. Fresh produce and grocery items.

Parque de la 93 is a popular outdoor destination in Bogota, offering green spaces, playgrounds, and benches for visitors to enjoy. It's a great spot for families to explore and play together. The park features attractive landscapes with large trees and plenty of seating areas for relaxation. Located in the northern end of Chapinero, it's known for its upscale atmosphere and modern amenities.
Parque de la 93 is a wonderful, safe place to visit, especially with kids. It’s a great spot for walking around with your family and feeling at ease. We were there in December during a festive event to kick off the holiday season, and the atmosphere was lively with lots of people celebrating together. The park is spacious, and kids can play while you sit back, relax, and even enjoy some drinks. There are plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area, making it a perfect spot to spend the day with your family. That said, it’s always good to stay aware, especially if you wander too far outside the park, as some corners may feel less secure. But as long as you stay within the park’s main area, it’s very safe and enjoyable. I highly recommend Parque de la 93 for families—great ambiance, lots of space, and a vibrant neighborhood. Definitely a must-visit!

There’s always something going on at Parque de la 93 🌳☀️ This park may be small, but they really made the most out of it. There is lots of seating, both benches and little tables with chairs, and even the occasional coffee stand. You have a lovely view of the mountains and palm trees from one end of the park. There’s a playground for kids and all around the park, there are nice cafes, restaurants and bars. Since there are many companies nearby, it’s also a popular spot for people to take a break in the sun. The park has its own Instagram page where they share events, offer yoga classes and other sports activities. The space is often used for pop up stands, markets and different cultural activities. There’s a big shopping festival called Feria EVA that happens here. The whole space gets transformed into pink stalls with local artists and brands selling their clothes, jewelry, decor and more. They set up a stage with live music and have food stands around the area as well. So, as you can see, there’s always something to do or see at Parque de la 93.

Parque 93 in Bogotá is a hidden gem, offering a delightful blend of tranquility and vibrant energy. The park boasts a plethora of food choices, with standout options like Starbucks and local options, providing an exquisite culinary experience. From local flavors to international delights, there's a dish to satisfy every palate. The beauty of the scenery is truly captivating, creating a serene escape amidst the urban hustle. Lush greenery, well-maintained paths, and charming water features make it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing afternoon picnic. I particularly loved the amount, size, and greenery of the trees in this particular area. For those seeking a laid-back atmosphere, Parque 93 is a haven. The ascetic charm of the park, combined with the diverse food offerings, makes it an easy-going destination for locals and visitors alike. Whether you're a food enthusiast or someone craving a tranquil retreat, Parque 93 delivers a harmonious experience that leaves a lasting impression.

There are play spaces for kids, but at night it’s gonna be a lot of teenagers/couple. It’s a beautiful little park for kids... it has areas assigned by age group with signs, it also has security guards. The sand pit is great, along with the boat, and the climbing spider ball. Kids absolutely love this park! I wish they would close it off with small/short gate since it’s a very business oriented area and a lot of grown ups also like to hang out. The grassy area has a lot of events but it’s mostly for dogs and grown ups.

Hacienda Santa Barbara Mall is a sprawling shopping destination located in the charming northern neighborhood of Usaquen in Bogota. Visitors can unwind in the central plaza beside a tranquil fountain or explore an array of upscale retailers and restaurants, including jewelry and art boutiques.
Nice Mall. Has a good amount of stores. Everything is pricey. A few places to eat, but there's plenty of restaurants outside in Galerias. I loved the historic architecture with makes it so different from other cookie cutter malls.

If you're on wheelchair or crutches, ramps are narrow and pathways cumbersome and full of obstacles; tendency to be slippery when wet. The mall is hard to navigate, needs more internal signs, especially in reference to exit to where.

Very big, historic mall. Some parts are very nice, others completely empty. No big stores (like Panamericana, Zara, Adidas, Pepe Ganga etc.) here.

Even though the plaza (mall) is not kept as well as it should, Hacienda Santa Barbara has everything you may need. From clothing stores to pharmacies, currency exchange establishments, diverse restaurants, cafes, medical services, cellular store, pet day care and veterinary, etc. Everything in a comfortable, safe, covered from the elements place. There's hundreds of stores. Not giving it 5 stars because it's clear the owners don't keep the historic place as well maintained as it should.

Loved it. Amazing exhibitions, incredible architecture, even the views from inside the building are beautiful. We even ate (savoury crepes) at the cafeteria inside and it was very nice. Theres a park outside which is peaceful. I would definitely recommend visiting here and immersing yourself in the art and serenity.
Laura X — Google review
It was a three story museum - I wish there was more to look at as it took about 45 minutes to get through it all but overall an interesting modern art museum - would add it as a thing to do in bogota during the week.
Lenny M — Google review
Disappointing. With only 4 levels of medium sized space devoted to one artist each, and no permanent exhibition—the visit was underwhelming. At 25k it’s not too expensive but for the value—it’s quite poor. Saw rather mediocre pieces of modern art and theme wise they were very similar in pattern and pastiche. In truth the store was probably more exciting. Perhaps I just came at the wrong time. Save your energy for the Botero Museum—it’s free and outstanding.
Jules D — Google review
An impressive museum with exhibits that are really worth seeing. the building is very attractive with open large windows. You could also easily move into and furnish your loft there. It was somewhat unfortunate that there was no mention of the works of art anywhere, unfortunately no title or other background information. Still very worth seeing with innovative artists and their works of art.
Tilman B — Google review
I am not a big fun of museums, but this one for me excited and it didn’t disappoint. It’s hard to review art right, but I guess if it calls to any kind of feelings then you consider it’s good. The museum is not very big, but the installations are quite eye-catchy. On the first floor there is Crepes&Waffles and also you can ask for the wife password at the ‘reception’ which was a huge plus for me as a tourist with restricted data on my e-sim. I bought the ticket as I arrived , there were no queues and any waiting time.
Valeriia F — Google review
This is by far the worst museum I’ve been to, not sure if it was because of the current curation but it was not worth it, and the fact that we paid for it makes it worst, it actually made me rethink going to other museums in the city, I find the museum in Medellin way better…disappointment for sure
Alan D — Google review
I love the architecture of the place, however, the atmosphere of the exterior and the works that were at that time were not very good for my taste since it dealt with very delicate issues that were not to my liking. However, the place is very quiet, I recommend it if you like to see different exhibitions and authors of all kinds, in my case we saw performance exhibitions but there are more events depending on the day.
Yeisson R — Google review
I went on Saturday around 2 pm and there was no waiting line. Entrance fee is 12000 COP. 2-3 hours is enough to visit the museum. I really enjoyed the museum. Museum mostly focused on motion and light.

The market also features an assortment of street food vendors offering diverse culinary delights. There are also fresh fruit stalls and a a vendor who sells delicious gourmet packaged chocolate. You can get fresh made fruit juices and also vendor who sells fresh plants. The cafe and fruit prices were high but the restaurant food vendor prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. It gets crowded on the weekends. On the outside part of the building at the front street area, there is a dessert shop and a taco shop. The tacos were really delicious there, and the people there were very nice and friendly. In conclusion, It’s a great place to get lunch and hang out. It has such a cool vibe and everything is under one building.

It offers a vibrant mix of traditional Colombian foods like Bandeja Paisa, Ajiaco soup, and the indigenous drink chicha, alongside fresh fruits, coffee, cacao, herbs, handicrafts, and souvenirs.

District Market Square La Concordia is a modern looking food court with multiple individual stalls selling different food products. The place is very clean and well maintained and almost appears to be designed for tourists who want a more antiseptic and safe environment. Around the building a lot of seating arrangements are provided for the visitors. Some of the stalls accept credit cards. Tourists could sample a variety of local foods both savory and sweet and even alcoholic, including the famous local drink chicha. It is a unique experience to be able to try solely local foods and dishes. It will be helpful to come with a local to help better understand some of the food.

We had read great deals about this place but were largely disappointed to see that there are not that many stores that sell fruits and we didn’t find any vendor in the fruit store . El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia is a bustling hub that offers car rental services from trusted companies like Avis and Localiza. The airport boasts modern check-in areas and easy access to transportation options such as cabs and Ubers. Travelers have reported quick immigration processes both when leaving and entering the country. The airport's cleanliness, organization, and friendly staff contribute to its positive reputation among frequent travelers.
El Dorado Airport truly exceeded my expectations. It’s not just an airport—it’s a whole experience. The space is modern, clean, and very spacious, making it easy to move around and find your way. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and lounges, so whether you’re in transit or waiting for your flight, there’s a lot to do and explore. You can easily spend your time here without feeling bored or rushed. My time here was peaceful and smooth. Everything is well-organized, and the service throughout the airport is great. If you’re passing through Bogotá, El Dorado is one of the better airports I’ve visited in Latin America. Highly recommended.

This airport needs to be improved. I believe they are traffic increase way larger than the city. The facilities are outdated the long cruise a lack of employees make this experience a lot more frustration at the end of the day they need to improve that otherwise the bar’s restaurant checking experience and transport to the airport was good.

Great big airport in Bogota... You can come there with your own car, city buses or with taxi... For me best option is with Uber taxi which is the fastest and cheapest... From there you need 20-30 minutes to your apartments where ever you are... Inside airport there is so much places to eat or drink something or boutiques or places with stamps and souvenirs... Also they have big duty-free... Prices are correct for airport and cheaper than in Europe airports... People who work there is so kind and helpful... Security control work very fast... With biometric passport you can do self control... Toilets are clean... All recommendations for visit and take flight to and from this airport if you are in Bogota

Airport is fairly organised. My gate kept changing, which was annoying. I lost a vest here with a wallet inside it. Within 10 min of leaving it on a chair(I forgot it there)it had disappeared. Security and cleaners had not seen it. In certain areas there is seating right next to a window, nice to plane spot from. Plenty of restaurants and shops. Free water refill stations in next to every bathroom.

The new section of the airport, i.e. gates from A10-A15 is crappy. There is construction work and unpleasant CHEMICAL ODORS near gate A14. The walk from security and passport control to these gates is very long. These gates serve Avianca, which is basically the national airline for Colombia. There are very few or no luggage carts for rent. Work is being done on at least some of the people movers. The only reason I'm giving a second star is that some of the businesses and restaurants, especially in the more central area of the airport, stay open 24/7. The more central area, close to security and passport control is fairly nice.

Busy, vibrant airport. Long queue at passport control. Be ready for lots of taxi drivers ready to pounce as you exit the airport. Only use white taxi or yellow taxi.

Plaza de Mercado 7 de agosto fruver is a bustling indoor market located in the Chapinero district of Bogota. It offers a vibrant array of fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, and plants. Additionally, visitors can explore snack kiosks offering delicious local dishes on the second floor. While the market provides affordable and high-quality goods, it's important to remain vigilant against pickpockets.
This green grocers' market is affordable, generous and incredible. You can find fresh vegetables and a generous variety of fruits. On the second floor you can find delicious meals. Local dishes generously served and well prepared. Unfortunately, you have to keep an eye when moving around the market and particularly around it. There are pick pocketers.

Colombian restaurant
La Esquina de Mary - El Buen Sabor del Pacífico is a must-visit spot known for its delicious and unique dishes. The coconut fish soup, rompe colchon (mattress breaker), is a popular choice, although it tends to sell out quickly. The restaurant's braised fish is highly recommended and has been described as the best in Colombia. It's advisable to visit during the week and arrive early to avoid long wait times.
First time eating Cazuela de mariscos / " shrimps / sea food soup" and it's been the best one I've ever had . It has shrimp 🍤🦐, octopus 🦑, fish , mussels and so on. As a side dish it comes with coconut rice, fried plantains and avocado. The price ? Unbeatable, barely $10 Rompe colchón was also tasty but our favorite was the mentioned above.
Petu — Google review
Rompe colchon was delicious and full of flavour! This was one of my favourite meals in Bogota. The soup also came with a side of rice, avocado and plantains and was very filling.

After watching the Netflix episode of street food, I ventured all the way here to try Mary’s famous romp Colchon, a coconut fish soup served with coconut rice, smashed plantains and a slice of avocado for 28,000. The portion was huge and the taste was not bad. Nice coconut flavour but the fish tasted dry and bland. Quick service eating in the bustling market.

Enconcado con camarones was the best dish I've had in a month In Colombia!! Service was very friendly and a good vibe in the marketplace - highly recommend.
Jim G — Google review
I went to this place because I watch it in a documentary in netflix. Well it was spectacular, I would say is the best braised fish I have ever had. Highly recommended, service is awesome too you get more of what you pay for. We had several plates and everything was out of this world I literally felt that I was in the Pacific side of Colombia. If you go there try to go early before noon and during the week. Do not go during the weeknd because you are gonna have to wait up to 3 hours but it's worth it! The logistics are very disorganized but it's not the restaurants fault, it's because it's located in a market. Everything was served with coconut rice, tostones, salad and fish broth.
Jonnathan D — Google review
Food is super good and the portions are good size. If your not from the area like me, you have to go in between the restaurants out front and up the stairs, then to your right. Definitely worth it!
Jaime E — Google review
One of the best meals I had in Colombia. The staff were so friendly, the service fast, and the food was delicious. The Cazeuala de Mariscos was my favorite. We also got a side of patacones with hogao that was really nice. The platters also came with a jug of Agua panela with limón that was refillable, a nice surprise. The atmosphere was great, the kitchen is in full view of all the seating and it looked like everyone was friendly and having fun back there. Super pleasant, kind people. The best part was it came out to less than $10 USD per person. We ordered 4 entrees for the 5 of us, and we thought we wouldn’t finish it all because it was so much food, but it was so delicious we couldn’t help but finish it.

I went with my family, including small children, and we had to witness an internal party with extremely loud music, customers standing in an endless line without being served. The cashier charged us an exorbitant amount because we asked to exchange one piece of fruit for another. Then we had to witness the cashier insulting someone on a cell phone, then in unison, the people serving the cashier shouting "suck it" and an endless stream of high-sounding terms at the cashier. Repeatedly, they used rude language and shouted at the cashier, denoting a complete lack of culture, a lack of respect for the place where they serve the public, and a total indifference to customer service and respect. It's definitely not recommended. It's embarrassing that the family has to spoil a moment of sharing by witnessing an internal carnival without the slightest bit of culture. History of the Monserrate crafts market Beyond the religious meaning, you will also find a crafts corridor where you can purchase various reminders about this magical place. Traveling further along this corridor you will detect a Creole gastronomy sector, perfect for learning more about the typical dishes of the Colombian Andean Region. Monserrate also has a set of exclusive restaurants, called “Casa Santa Clara” and “Casa San Isidro”, creators of exquisite dishes that stand out for having a colonial mansion atmosphere and highlighting the deliciousness of Colombian food and the extravagance of global cuisine. Last but not least, all the structures on this hill are designed with a unique and colonial style that transports you to the past, creating perfect settings to admire, reflect and take impressive photographs. The Monserrate crafts market offers a selection of products that have their own stories. The place combines the altitude and spirituality of the hill with local artistic expression. Each piece tells its own story, taking you beyond physical heights to the heights of creativity. This hill in the Colombian capital is a special place, since it leaves an unforgettable mark on many people who visit it, but why is this mountain so famous and what makes it so authentic?; Despite its religious significance and the majesty of natural beauty, Monserrate also stands out for its unique traditions, innovative commerce, exquisite gastronomy and eccentric legends. The religious emblem that Monserrate has originates in the 17th century, when the Fernández de Valenzuela family began its construction, honoring the virgin Santa María de Monserrate, who was one of the first brown virgins. Some time later he joined the fallen Christ of Monserrate, which had the supposed blessing of performing miracles for those who touched it, after climbing the Monserrate path.

Well, it could have been good. The food was tasty but not hot. Never got the beer we asked for. Never received the tomato sauce or hot sauce we asked for despite asking several times to our waiter. He was more busy getting more customers than actually serving customers. Too bad. I gave it 3 because at least the food was flavorful.

(Translated by Google) Appalling. Very bad attention. The dishes we ordered were small and salty. One of the trout was practically raw. What was a "marinade sauce" turned out to be 6 shrimp in a fairly liquid sauce based on pasta or tomato sauce. They did not bring the accompaniments that they mentioned with the dish or a glass of water that I ordered as a drink. They had no problem charging the average price of a dish in the plaza, taking into account that the quality and flavor are not even close to other stalls in the place. It is worth going to the square, by no means to that restaurant. They should make room for a better service and quality offering taking into account the number of people who visit them.

Opt for reputable exchange offices rather than street vendors to ensure safe transactions with Colombian pesos. Carrying small denomination bills can help you avoid the risk of counterfeit notes and make payments easier. Additionally, familiarize yourself with the local currency's coins and bills to navigate your expenses smoothly.
