Restaurant
Elizabeth's Restaurant in Bywater is a bustling space adorned with local art, offering down-home country classics and a lively brunch. The restaurant prides itself on serving 'real food done real good,' featuring an incredible showcase of New Orleans cuisine. The menu includes lunch-friendly items like gumbo and fried green tomatoes, but the focus is primarily on breakfast and brunch food.
Stopped in for breakfast with the family on recommendation from locals. Place was able to accommodate 11 real quick on a weekday. Had the Boudin and Eggs Special, Shrimp and Grits, Praline Bacon, and Bananas Foster French Toast. Everything was amazing! Really enjoyed sharing dishes with several people in the party. Would love to come back and try more.

The food is phenomenal here! There wasn't one thing we had that wasn't delicious. Our favorite was the chicken livers and pepper jelly. The oysters were perfectly cooked. Praline bacon wasn't over sweet. Fried green tomatoes had a wonderful tartness to them. Service was amazing too!
Charlyn M — Google review
Great spot in Elizabeth! The food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous definitely worth the visit if you’re in New Orleans. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere made the experience even better.

A great comfort southern breakfast. My favorite was the friend boudin eggs special. It’s got A fried pate type situation in the bottom topped with a flavorful crawfish etoufe & poached eggs on top. I think this place is most known for the duck waffle and honestly it was not my thing because it’s pretty sweet. The carne asada hash was really good. They have great crispy potatoes that came with each dish. The praline bacon and biscuits and gravy were decent. Overall super solid breakfast spot would come again
Samantha Y — Google review
Cute place for breakfast- out of the main tourist-area. You can park and take a walk along the river across the road. It's great food- the prices are according. The sweet potato-duck waffle is amazing.

Overall experience was a blast. The meal I got was a little underwhelming as the french toast breakfast burrito. I would of loved it NOT in a tortilla, but in a crepe or softer casing. The tortilla just didnt do it for me. All the other food was amazing and the service was top notch!

Food was absolutely amazing! Boudin is house made! Praline bacon is off the chart! We will definitely be back! David our server was amazing and made sure our drinks were filled at all times!!

New American restaurant
Brennan's is a renowned fine-dining establishment in New Orleans, celebrated for its Creole cuisine and luxurious breakfast offerings. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine selection curated by Braithe Tidwell, featuring a vast array of Burgundy wines and offerings from global producers. While it is an ideal spot for special occasions, Brennan's also caters to families with its charming pink exterior and a patio inhabited by turtles, providing entertainment for children.
Brennan’s is truly a New Orleans treasure with a history as rich as its flavors. This iconic French Quarter restaurant has been serving guests since 1946 and is world-famous for creating Bananas Foster, one of the city’s most celebrated desserts. My daughter and I chose the three course chef’s choice option, which included a Caesar salad, stone shrimp, and a Snickers-inspired dessert that was absolutely divine. I paired mine with a lovely glass of Pinot Grigio, while my partner enjoyed a perfectly cooked steak. Even the warm starter bread was memorable. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was kind, attentive, and made the evening feel extra special. The ambiance was beautiful, blending fine dining with a casual atmosphere that made us feel both elegant and comfortable at the same time. Dining here feels like stepping into history with the classic New Orleans charm and timeless building. I really wanted to try their legendary Bananas Foster, but since it is prepared for two I will save that for next time. And there will definitely be a next time. Between the food, the service, and the ambiance, this was an incredible experience. Love New Orleans, love the French Quarter, and absolutely loved Brennan’s.

We spent several days in New Orleans and ate at a few fine dining places, but Brennan's was by far the highlight of our culinary adventures in New Orleans! We came in for brunch, and every minute was superb. The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is so beautifully decorated and pleasant. We started with a delicious Irish coffee and Bloody Mary. My crab cake appetizer was really special, creatively done with the freshest ingredients and perfectly fried exterior. The turtle soup is a must try! The shrimp and grits had a fun presentation twist, and my husband's duck confit hash browns were out of this world. Of course, we got the bananas foster for dessert. They make the ice cream locally and prepare it in a special way so it doesn't turn to soup with the banana and sauce. It was so delicious and such a fun experience. The "cherry on the cake"? The coffee with chicory is probably the best coffee I've ever had!

Our dinner at Brennan's was nothing short of a five-star experience. Despite the restaurant being typically packed on a Friday, we were seated on the Terrace, which provided a wonderfully quiet and charming escape. It was the perfect atmosphere, and we even enjoyed the small water fountain that is home to a delightful crew of 10 turtles (one of them an albino!). The service was truly the highlight. Our server was beyond excellent—attentive, extremely helpful, and proactively sought answers from the chef regarding our questions. The overall supervision was also impressive; the head of the servers and other staff were constantly present, making rounds to ensure every table was perfectly taken care of. Our party of five enjoyed a variety of dishes, and every single plate was prepared and presented beautifully. Even the kid's dinner was surprisingly delicious! The level of attention to detail across the entire operation was evident and appreciated. We couldn't have asked for a better dining experience.

The eggs sardou is the best, most mind-blowing dish I’ve ever eaten! The crispy artichoke bottoms are definitely not from a can and each component was cooked to perfection. I will dream of this flavor for years to come! The whole meal was outstanding and surpassed my expectations - I wondered if it might be a tourist trap but it was the highlight of the trip.

Brunch was amazing from the service to the food to the dining space. Our server Lynika and her team mate Destiny were both so helpful and awesome. Lynika gave suggestions and answered every question we had plus everything we got was delicious that she said. Even though we were pleasantly full we had to get the bananas Foster which they do table side. We had the bloody Mary's and coffee. Our meals were scotch egg, eggs st. Charles, duck confit hash, and the steak and eggs. I really enjoyed my duck but the best thing was Eggs St Charles, which was recommended. Thank you for an incredible experience and meal.

I tried "Taste of Brennan's" combo: turtle soup, shrimp boil, and bread pudding for 38 dollars. I particularly liked the shrimp boil, it was so very flavorful that I had a strong urge to lick the plate. The turtle soup was a bit of disappointment, I expected a lot more and more unique flavor. It was good, just not great. The bread pudding was very sweet, I ate about half of it. Overall, performance ratio was very good. Note: reservation time is just a suggestion. Were asked to sit and wait past our reservation time. We were situated about 10-12 minutes after the original reservation time. We were not late, in fact we arrived a few minutes early.

100% Gem!! You must eat at Brennan's when visiting NOLA. Some of the most creative brunch dishes I have ever seen. FYl they created the banana foster so you have to get one when you come here just saying! Food was on point in every way. The cheery atmosphere and staff is very proper and considerate you get top notch service! Went for breakfast and it was fantastic. I definitely recommend the turtle soup the flavors were amazing. I went with the Eggs Owen and my wife got the Eggs Sardou both dishes came out hot and picture perfect amazing mmmmm...They were phenomenal everything from the service to food was spot on and overall we will definitely be there again next visit. Loved the waiter that did our bananas foster he was amazing and very informative! 100% recommend!

Finally getting around to posting reviews for the places we chose for our wedding back in March- Brennan’s was exceptional from start to finish. If you are contemplating having a party, reception or event here, look no further. Our food was perfect, the drinks were spot on, and our dedicated party host and server went above and beyond for us, even with our cake cutting service. It is so hard to find truly great catering with delicious food for groups of 20 or more anywhere, and our 3 course meal was so fresh and everyone raved about it. I’m still thinking about it all this time later. Thank you Brennan’s…I could not have dreamed of another place I wanted for our wedding, given we are from Texas and wanted a real NOLA experience celebrating at a place owned and operated by one of the greatest hospitality families of all time.

Nestled right by the vibrant Jackson Square, Stanley of New Orleans is a delightful cafe that radiates warmth and charm. This sun-drenched spot offers an enticing menu filled with modern Louisiana dishes and serves breakfast all day long, making it perfect for those leisurely mornings. Indulge in their signature Stanley Classic featuring eggs, praline bacon, heirloom grits, and toast or try the unique Breaux Bridge Benedict with seared boudin patties.
It was a great experience. From the hostess tp our server Caleb. Prices are high but its expected in a tourist driven scene. They are fast with seating and do bot compromise fast with quality. Both were good. Recommend the Breaux Bridge benedict and bloody mary. Cheers.

One of the best breakfast spots we found in New Orleans! The customer service was amazing. Our server Jonathan, was super friendly. We ordered the Bananas Foster French Toast and the Corned Beef Hash with sunny side up eggs, both dishes were extremely delicious. I will definitely be coming back here for breakfast next time I am in town!

This place is fantastic! They make a delicious Bloody Mary, and the Omelet Sandwich was incredible - packed with ham, bacon, cheese, and a spicy mayo. Great service, fun atmosphere!

Great spot just off Jackson Square in open cafe with great NOLA feel. Staff very engaged. Excellent gumbo! Dark roux with deep flavors and not thick like many that can be too thick. Lots of seafood, sausage and chicken. Get it with the potato salad!

Great food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend the crab cakes benedict. I actually got scrambled eggs on the side and mixed some of that crab cake up in the mix and it was 🤌 Jonathan did a wonderful job as our server.

Monday morning breakfast in NOLA, is a treat when you eat at Stanley’s in Jackson Square. My wife just had Mother’s Day yesterday and her Birthday tomorrow so she was feeling good about things and started the order off with a double Bloody Mary GreyGoose, and crab cake Benedict. I ordered coffee, then, Jonathan our waiter ask if I was going to let let her have all the New Orleans fun! I canceled the coffee got a Bloody Mary and eggs Benedict, everything was delicious! Service, food, atmosphere! We left and did a little shopping! I truly enjoy NOLA. Stanley’s is a must for your breakfast/brunch! 5:12/2025

The Camellia Grill is a storied institution in New Orleans, beloved by generations of locals. It's a classic pink-hued diner where waiters wear bow ties and serve up classic comfort food. The only seating available is at the counter, so keep that in mind if you're dining with young kids. The menu offers everything from bacon cheeseburgers and waffles to omelets and club sandwiches, but don't miss their famous freeze – a unique take on the classic milkshake.
Looked up best breakfast places in NOLA and this one showed up to be #1 across many websites. So of course we had to give it a try. The waiting process is a bit odd as they form the line outside. You wait outside for them to let you in. No need to check in. They take you as you come and it’s first come first serve. Once you get inside it’s a full on old time diner where you sit at a counter along with several other strangers. Terrible for introverts but wonderful for extroverts! Servers take care of everyone at once. They write down your order on a slip of paper and yell it to the cook. It doesn’t take long at all. I got the catfish breakfast which was delicious. Very friendly and talkative service here. Super old fashioned which we found cool. Parking is limited. We parked at the grocery shops nearby and walked over. Decent prices for a great home style breakfast.

Some things actually don’t change very much. Maybe that’s why so many of us love New Orleans. Like so many people, I used to come here at all hours when I was in college a million years ago. Also like so many people, I always try to stop by when I am in town. If you’ve never been, stop by if you have time. It’s a tiny old-school diner - just a narrow counter with stools - but it’s the kind of place where people still remember their waiters from years gone by. They have traditional Louisiana diner fare. Today, I went for breakfast. I had red beans and rice (because Monday), with catfish (because catfish!). Chicory coffee, of course. If you want to be comfortable, this is possibly not your place. If you want to experience a New Orleans tradition, get on in there. ❤️
Kimberley K — Google review
A real old-time lunch counter. Good food, lots of it, smiling servers (if a little slow) and a great vibe. If you can, save room for the Coconut Cream Pie. It was fantastic! I also really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes.
Catherine M — Google review
It was more than a meal - it was an experience. The staff was so kind and friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect. It’s small, but I’d happily wait in line to get to eat here again. Lots of customs and traditions, such as how the waiter gives you a straw. Quality service and food. They also offer a full menu all day, and my kids loved getting burgers for breakfast.
Emily G — Google review
After reading so many great reviews & realizing I was in the neighborhood, I decided to walk to Camellia‘s last night where I was greeted with nothing but smiles and great energy. I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich and mac & cheese to go, walked 20 minutes to my home and it was absolutely delicious, It hit all the spots & the kind of mac & cheese also that I have been craving all week. You even get to watch the food being made right in front of you, my compliments to the chef and the kind gentlemen who helped me, especially Chad. There is also a lovely hostess with a beautiful smile, waiting to help you get seated somewhere. If you’re in the neighborhood or in town and you need some good Diner eats, then I’d absolutely recommend you stop by this place, it’s right along the street car path and very convenient. I plan on coming back for the pecan pie! P.S. the Mac and cheese doesn’t come with black pepper, I just added it.
Kelley D — Google review
It's the Camellia Grill! Pretty famous spot, been there forever and it's easy to see why. Boyfriend got a Roast Beef poboy and I had an Omlette. Excellent. What I really love is the service though and that it feels so much like eating at a friend's house who are great cooks. They just serve you when it's ready....here's your Omlette, here's your hash browns 5 minutes later...cool! It tastes like food I can make, but just so much better and really is so authentic New Orleans in every way and I love it. Forever a favorite spot since I was a kid. The Pecan pie, tastes like someone's grandma makes it, it's perfect.
Melissa S — Google review
Great old time dinner atmosphere and friendly service. It is all counter service only so there is usually a line. I had a sausage omelette and cheese grits. It was delicious! I had to have a slice of pecan pie. It’s grilled with butter before serving. WOW
Christopher S — Google review
Went here because it's historic, but unfortunately, I think they lean on that a bit too much. Our server was meek and not all that enthused to be helping us. Everything we ordered was wrong in some way (wrong cheeses, wrong sides). Took forever to flag her down for a coffee refill, which I got but after I was done with my meal. I love a good lunch counter, but I've experienced better service at a Waffle House.

Diner
Breakfast restaurant
Clover Grill is a retro-styled diner located near gay bars, offering round-the-clock service to cater to Bourbon Street revelers and service industry workers. The diner is known for its quick service and simple yet satisfying eats, with popular options like the Build Your Own Omelette and Build Your Own Burger. Its white washed plaster exterior, brightly painted walls, and glass-paneled doors contribute to its laid-back atmosphere.
Came here after a ghost tour for a quick little snack before hitting bourbon and was pleasantly surprised! This place is veryyyy small but packs a lot of flavor. It's like a little diner that has great food. They were swinging out burgers left and right and they looked and smelled so good. But we didn't get one. When I'm back in the city I will for sure try one of those! Highly recommend on a bourbon street night. And it's open 24 hours!
Breanna T — Google review
I did not expect a tiny little burger grill to be the place I hit up twice in a 2 day trip to NOLA but this beef burger was one of the best I have ever had in my life so couldn’t help myself. I don’t even understand how or why it was as good as it was because it looks like any old burger but it was seriously amazing. Just simple food with every detail done to absolute perfection I guess. My partner had the chicken sandwhich our first visit and said it was a 10/10 too. The vibe here is great, super cute interior and the location is so close to where you’re probably gonna be on bourbon street so easy to pop in and I highly reccomend you do. I also want to comment on the service from the staff as I did see quite a few comments talking this down - both times we went we had a diffeeent server and they were both really lovely and attentive. They were friendly, Made sure we had everything we needed and seemed to genuinely care about delivering good service which wasn’t the case everywhere we went in the French quarter. 10/10, you gotta go here at least once but more likely, you’ll end up back twice.

Kat was phenomenal. She welcomed everyone inside and got our group of four seated quickly. She took our drink order, and made us laugh right off the bat. Very pleased to have her attend to our lunch, which was extremely delicious. I had the special club with bacon, ham, turkey, two types of cheese, mayo, tomato, and lettuce. Two of us had the beef burger with cheese, one with fries, and one with onion rings. Our fourth order was the corn dog, all of which were great options. Kat kept the entire diner clean as people checked out, picking up dishes and cleaning the tables in a prompt manner. I would love to come back as we enjoyed our experience here.

Walked in on Sunday afternoon with my husband, daughter, and father in law. I didn’t get her name, but the red haired manager/server acknowledged us and we sat down right away. Ordered 2 club sandwiches, and the breakfast burger. While I am not a fan of eggs, I did take a bite of the breakfast burger and had my socks blown off! Even though I was eating the best club sandwich I’ve ever eaten, I wish I had ordered the breakfast burger. Our conversation with the lady was even better. As a tourist, I had a million questions lol. Probably the best conversation out of the entire visit to NOLA/Louisiana. Really enjoyed the camaraderie she showed us, and the vibe of the entire place was fantastic!!! Would definitely eat here again!!!
Mrs. I — Google review
This was one of my favorite burger spots, but I got a breakfast burger with a live roach or beetle or whatever type of insect that is. When I showed the server this, he promised to comp the meal and give us a new one. Obviously I didn’t want it, but he insisted. Because I agreed to the replacement meal that I did not want I was then required to pay the full price, when the check came. It was 4 am and I was too tired to argue. It ruined it for me it’s one of the best burgers in America but now how many times did I eat a bug and not know?
Jonathan T — Google review
Amazing, cheap, fast and delicious food. Felt like a nostalgic throwback despite being a foreigner, like this was the closest I was going to get to a true American diner experience. Loved it and is one of the meals I think about a lot from our trip in NOLA.

Absolutely loved this gem. Excellent service, delicious breakfast at affordable prices. Loved the history of this joint, it's 24 hours and no cash. Small spot with counter space and a few tables. Hit the spot, right on time. Every staff member was great.

Surrey's Café & Juice Bar is a vibrant spot that serves American and Latin breakfast and lunch options alongside freshly squeezed juices. Located in NOLA's Garden District, this cafe prides itself on offering comforting and delicious food made with house-made and locally-sourced ingredients. The menu features classics like Bananas Foster French Toast as well as fresh juices made from kale, carrots, apples, pineapples, grapefruit, and ginger.
Visited on a Monday for breakfast. The food was all really fantastic. We got the old-fashioned oatmeal, banana foster french toast, creole country meat and egg plate, and their fresh grapefruit juice and strawberry lemonade. I highly recommend the juices, first and foremost. They were both very good. The meat and egg plate was super flavorful and filling, and my wife loved her french toast treat. We left full and satisfied after one of our best breakfasts in NOLA. Be aware however that the day we visited they were cash only. Best to plan accordingly.

Service was great. If you love sugar and sweets the French toast is definitely for you. The serving sizes are good. I enjoyed the eggs and grits. There was no wait when we got there but by the time we left it was a line outside.
Jeanea — Google review
One of the best meals I have ever had. The staff was amazing. The wait wasn’t too bad. It is a smaller location but adds to a very lax vibe that they have going on. Love the art available inside as well. I am not typically a shrimp & grits person, but this honestly may have been the most flavor I have had in a meal. The bacon added to it was just icing on the cake. Paired with a very unique stuffed bananas foster French toast. It was one of the best variations of a bananas foster I have had and I may or may not have made an audible noise as I ate it. One of the servers walked by and just went “I heard that” not even realizing I had done it. I couldn’t recommend this location enough. Come early to try and get a spot. If you find yourself on the waiting list, it is so worth sticking around to be seated. Plan on coming back every time I am back in New Orleans

This restaurant came highly recommended by my hotel. The shrimp and grits were to die for!!!! The coffee was great and the originally blended orange and mango juice was wonderful. Definitely will be visiting this gem when I’m back in New Orleans! Thumbs up to Club Wyndham for the awesome recommendation.

Amazing food....12 outta 10 delicious 😋. The place is very small and there will be a wait, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Staff was very nice service was fast and food amazing. There are art pieces covering the walls that are for purchase that were beautiful. Go, you won't regret it!!!! Oh yeah the fresh juice was amazing as well.

I found this place when I was googling directions to the zoo and decided to stop for a late breakfast. We parked on the side street pretty close to the restaurant. We were seated immediately, and the service was great! The food was delicious, and the portions were huge. The restaurant was also very cute and unique.

Very small space. The food was decent but not delicious. The way the Shrimps & Grits looked, I really expected it to be amazing. I think I fell into the Tiktok hype and got disappointed. Overall, we only could give it a 5/10
Wayne B — Google review
The hostess and waitress were amazing. Very kind and welcoming. The shrimp and grits OMG!!!!! 10/10 but honestly the rating is higher! The grits were creamy and buttery and the shrimp was cooked to perfection! I’m still thinking about this meal! Shout out to the chef!

As soon as we walked in we were greeted! We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or out and my group decided out. The vibe of the place gave we were in somebodies house which i loved. This was our first time here and the had a very unique menu so everyone got something different. Everybody loved their food. Very big portions with the best ice and water. This diner will def be in rotation. If you are in the area or want to get out of the downtown scene of eating make sure you come here!

Great atmosphere and very busy . Waiter was quick to the table took our order refilled our drinks if needed. Food Took a lil longer than expected, sadly to say my wife’s food was cold (even the grits). Waiter replaced food with no problem . My cat5 burrito sounded exciting after reading it from the menu . Disappointing! the side of plantains on a bed of spinach stole the show . Overall disappointed.
Cal B — Google review
Top tier breakfast. Such great flavors and really large portions. Everything tasted amazing. The etouffee here was the best I had in New Orleans this trip. After being massively disappointed by etouffee and thinking it was just not my thing this place turned me around. The portions were so huge but I literally could not stop eating. I got the Orleans slammer - a bed of crispy hash covered in a flavorful chili full of beans, topped with bacon, two eggs and a biscuit. I would definitely come back, next time I would get the creole slammer that has the etouffee on top because again, best etouffee I had in this trip. I also really liked the vibe and our waiter was super nice 9/10

Super cute place and food was great! I got the BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato sandwich) with hash browns cooked with onions and covered in cheddar cheese. Delicious!! Got the homemade strawberry milkshake to go. It was good, but I could have done without it and saved $10. Our waiter was super friendly and the atmosphere was pretty chill. Over all, I highly recommend eating here!

The food was good. The sweet potato pancake was okay but the omelette was delicious. I will visit here again so I can try more dishes. Great place for visitors. I felt welcomed and safe.

Fun, quirky diner on Magazine. Atmosphere is eclectic, bordering on junky. Felt a bit dirty. Service was friendly if not spotty. “Sinkhole” omelette was tasty, but at $20 I was expecting more.

I ordered the Creole Slammer. It was moderately seasoned, and I had to add hot sauce to make it enjoyable. The service was great, with bubbly personalities and patience.

Great little restaurant! We ate on the patio, which has a very welcoming feel to it. If I lived here, I would eat here on a daily basis! Food full of flavor! Eggs, hash browns with crawfish etouffee and s biscuit to "mop it up." A+

Just as busy and delicious as the CBD location, but in a more walkable neighborhood. Expect a wait worth your while on any given day, especially weekends. I love the design of this location and all the natural light in the dining room. You can’t visit without trying the crispy potatoes, fresh bottled juice, and the fluffiest pancakes! Eating at either one of these locations feels like sharing a meal with your family, the staff is incredibly kind.

I'm already hooked and can't wait to come back! The food here is incredible, and the presentation is truly outstanding. It looks as good as it tastes! I played it safe with a light dish for my first visit, but I wasn't disappointed. I'm so glad I took the plunge and gave this place a try. My friend's recommendation was spot on! With so many delicious options on the menu, I'm excited to try a little bit of everything next time. Definitely give it a shot. You won't regret it!

Be aware! There's an automatic 20% gratuity added to checks of two or more and another 3% server free that you don't find out about until you get the ticket. $90 breakfast for two people. Not expected. Good food, good service but not for that price.

Great little spot!! Cozy & good food , you can even order a bottle of champagne and make your own mimosas. Had the bacon egg & cubbed mini potatoes along with 2 very well fluffy pancakes. I will say the only thing I didn’t like was the bacon. For them to make everything else fresh & well made. They need to up their bacon game. 2 very sorry pieces of none crispy thin sliced not to tasty bacon. Get there EARLY!!! Waiting list is very long. I personally don’t think the food is amazing enough for ppl to want to wait such a long time. I’m talking 1hr + wait time. But I do get the vibe / atmosphere it has , which is probably why ppl love this place so much.

We sat outside. The menu is great and our server was great. I would suggest if you want multi items I would split. We ordered the crab dip.. wonderful! Blueberry pancakes, salmon, crayfish gravy biscuit, crab omelet, cat mamma, scallops and oyster grits. And the drinks were great.. fresh squeeze juice mimosas!

This is an amazing place to get breakfast, brunch, or lunch, as they close earlier than other places. Their prices are a bit higher than other restaurants, but you get what you pay for. I have not disliked any item from their menu, but my absolute faves are crab croquettes, brisket hash, and their blueberry pancakes. You will not go wrong with any item you choose. We always bring visitors here, and they have never been disappointed. Definitely recommend getting there early (before 9 AM) as there is usually a line. You can give the hostess your name, and they will text you when the table is ready. They give you 10 minutes to return once called. This, of course, only works if you live close by. But definitely recommend trying this place
Aida P — Google review
Pretty good brunch spot. My husband and I arrived around noon on a Friday. The wait was only around 20 minutes. Street parking was plentiful. Inside was cool with a slightly warmer temp that I would have liked. Also the tables are very close together. We started with a side order of the crispy breakfast potatoes, these were really good! I wish the serving size was bigger. We had the mango lemonade and blueberry lemonade bottle juices. They were decent. For entrees we ordered the Lobster Daddy with a hard fried egg and the crawfish sauce on the side, and 2 blueberry pancakes with grilled chicken and hard scrambled eggs. Now the wait time for the food was not timely at all. We saw a few tables that came after us get their meals. Not sure what happened. I enjoyed the Lobster daddy but I feel the serving size was really small for the price. The crawfish sauce was lukewarm so I couldn't really enjoy it. The lobster was fried really well and it was seasoned perfectly. The biscuit was kind of flat but had a good flavor. My husband said his was just ok. Only 1 pancake is needed because it is large. Not the best pancake around but pretty good. The chicken breast was season and grilled wonderfully. Overall not a place I just have to visit again but glad I got it off my bookmark list. Total price $97.00. They automatically include 20% gratuity ( even for a party of 2) and some kind of server fee.

Went here for breakfast on a Saturday, they were busy, busy... put in my name for 1 person, still had to wait to be seated for the bar even though, there were 3 open seats. I waited about 20 min to be seated. Ordered a latte & the steak & eggs special, medium. I was a bit dissatisfied with my meal. The amount of garlic & onions on the steak was way to much, I had to scrape it off, but it was still strong. Steak was over cooked to well, even though I had ordered it medium. Potatoes were way too salty for me. I would go back but try something else.

This place is exellent. The R and B burrito was top tier. I added egg to it and it tasted perfect. My family got the pork chop and eggs and the fish and grits and both were good. The server Cassidy was very nice. The biscuit beignets were excellent too. I would recommend this place and make sure to make a reservation because they are very busy.

We visited for Mother's Day, so the wait to be seated and for food was long. However, the food was really good. I had the shrimp and grits with catfish, and it was very good and hearty. I like their sauce better than most restaurants I've tried. It's different in a good way. My niece liked her chicken and waffles, and my sister said her omelet was good as well. Our server, Angel, was sweet and attentive. I definitely recommend them and will be back again.
Nola B — Google review
We had the big Belgian waffle sandwiches with thick slices of bacon eggs with cheese and side of really good creamy grits. The sandwich was not worth $20 because the waffle was horrible and taste like it was made a box mix that you add water. The syrup was Smucker little cups that you get at fast food restaurants. Our server was friendly and attentive. They really good music but it was too loud for brunch and made it hard to talk. The walls are covered with fun and interesting art. The seating is tight and it feels like they packed us in. My overall impression is the place gets a lot of hype but didn't live up to it. I'm not sure that I would go back because there's nothing special about the experience.

We had the most amazing experience at biscuits and buns. The music was on point, Our waitress Cassidy was wonderful and the whole place was a vibe. Cannot recommend enough. This has been the best breakfast we’ve had in New Orleans hands down. The shrimp, catfish and grits were OUT OF THIS WORLD. The depths of flavor in every meal were outstanding. Can’t wait to go back. The service and food were impeccable.

So glad I made it before my trip was over. Food and service was spectacular! I had the oh baby pancakes (Ube) and eggs. They were so good! Pancakes are thick but fluffy, I could only finish half without eating well past my stomachs limit lol. My server was extremely kind and attentive. Would absolutely add this to a must go place anytime I'm in the city. Everyone was so kind and welcoming even though I got there 45 minutes before closing. 10/10 recommend!

For Our first time at the location, my 1st time ever in New Orleans this hit the spot , for us the food tells an amazing story through it’s delicious flavors and added hospitality. We both are Chef’s with a business so to be able to sit back and not leave anything on the plate, it truly was just phenomenal. Jaz our server was on it she did not miss a beat. Ms. T offer us this delicious mock tail it was very refreshing. We will definitely be back before leaving and when we bring the family back.

My husband are local but enjoy trying places we haven't been. Having already read up on this place I was excited tp check it out! It absolutely did not disappoint! From the front door with the sweetest hostess to meal it was a great experience! Loved the funky local art, the speed of service. Now let's get to the goods...I chose the chicken & waffle my hubby has swap Omelet. It was the absolutely the best waffle I have ever had! The chicken was so crispy and full of flavor! The Omelet was ok, it lacked in flavor a little but over all worth giving a shot. I will definitely revist!

My cousin and I met Steven and Chrissy at the Hope lodge (a hotel for patients having treatments for cancer) where they taught us how to make biscuits and we had so much fun learning, which was a great distraction considering why we're there. We had a awesome time. I was scheldule for surgery than monday so we decided to go to the Ruby Slipper's that saturday. When I tell you the experience was awesome, it was amazing. The staff and the vibe was so on point, and the food was soooo good. Chrissy when I say mixology she was so on point her drinks was oooo we. Steven even the took time to come greet and take pictures with us. This is one stop I will definitely make when i'm in New Orleans.

The Ruby Slipper has a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the service was honestly the highlight of my visit. The staff was so kind and attentive. My meal was just okay overall. The fried green tomatoes tasted like they had been sitting out for a bit, so they lost some of that crispy freshness I was hoping for. The shrimp and grits had good flavor and a nice presentation, just not quite as rich or bold as I expected for a New Orleans spot. Still, I appreciated the hospitality and laid-back vibe. It’s worth a stop if you’re looking for solid service and classic Southern comfort food.

Absolutely amazing!!! I had the trifecta and it was the best eggs Benedict ive ever had. The St Charles and the Bayou shrimp Benny's were so freaking good! We had a friend in our party with Celiac and allergies and Judit took great care to make sure that she had an amazing meal and experience without worrying about her allergies.

This was a good place to have brunch with the food staples of this area of the country. I liked their biscuits and the French toast bites as well. Food comes out quickly and staff check on you often. I think it's good, yet people give it too much hype and make it sound as the best food you could ever try. This is very sweet and artificially flavored or enhanced flavored food, deep fried, breaded, etc., as many things in the States.
Keren S — Google review
Absolutely LOVED Ruby Slipper. There is nothing I can say that wasn't good about this place. We came early in the morning maybe 9:00 AM to eat something before all of the bachelorette activities we needed to do and it was the best idea ever. I wanted an iced coffee, they gave me a delicious iced coffee. We wanted the banana foster beignets and they gave us the most delicious banana foster beignets I've ever had. (Not that I ever had anything like that before.) My friend ordered the eggs and biscuit, and my other friend and I split the chicken and french toast bites with hot honey. It was delicious! I would say it was a tad pricey, we paid $38 for two small dishes, iced coffee, and tip. I don't know is that an average amount? I feel like in NoLa it is. We were 4 girls, and since there was a little bit of a wait, and we were in a rush, they sat us at the bar, which was great! We loved it. I would love to shout-out our waitress Trish, she was AMAZING! I didn't even write her name down because I knew I would remember her. She gave us other recommendations on where to go during our time there, and she was just so good! She was serving, bar tending, cleaning, getting the check, all at the same time! She did it all!

my husband and I came here on our honeymoon trip as it was recommended by a friend. We shared the Trifecta and the French toast bites! The food was delicious and really great portions. I also got their spiced vanilla latte which was really good. It was pretty cold in the restaurant so bring a jacket if you get cold easily like me but that was my only gripe. Service was awesome everyone was very kind and helpful, I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in NOLA.

Atchafalaya, located in the Irish Channel of New Orleans, is a charming restaurant offering a blend of upscale and homey cooking. With a history dating back almost a century, the current owners have transformed it into an elegant venue serving rustic New Orleanian cuisine. Open for brunch and dinner throughout the week, Atchafalaya's brunch is particularly renowned for its inventive contemporary creole dishes.
The establishment itself is very quaint. Once you enter it has a warm, welcoming ambiance that is comfortable, artistic, and calming. The candle light mixed with the elegant table sets are amazing. Add to that the intricate placement of different dining areas. The food was amazing, we tried the Shrimp and Grits along with the Castella Family chicken. We had the corn & crab bisque soup for the starter. All of the food was delicious and well-prepared. I saw earlier reviews of bad customer service. This was NOT the case for us! The gentleman that welcomed us was kind! The hostess was kind as she seated us! And our service person (Clay) was knowledgeable, considerate, kind, fast, efficient, and thoughtful. We never had to ask for refills, he recommended awesome options. The service was 5-star quality. This is a must try stop for anyone in New Orleans!

Atchafalaya was our very first stop in New Orleans. We went straight from the airport, and my only regret is not making a return trip before we left town. This place set the culinary bar high for the rest of our trip! I loved that it’s tucked away from the downtown bustle; it felt like a true neighborhood gem. The gumbo and the shrimp and grits were both hands down the best versions of those dishes we had anywhere in the city. The service was world-class: warm, attentive, and perfectly paced. An absolute must-visit that lives up to the hype! We’ll be back next time we’re in NOLA.

My wife and I walked in for Sunday brunch. We did not have a reservation. It was early afternoon so the wait was not long. We sat at the bar with Ryan and had one of the best brunch experiences in quite some time. The cocktail/wine menu is top notch. Ryan is the bar manager as well, so he curated and created the cocktails on the menu. We had a Good Morning Vietnam bloody mary, a Spanish g & t, and a bubbles and butter. All of them well balanced and delicious. For food we went with Ryan's suggestions of shrimp and grits and the duck hash....so good! I had a cup of gumbo as well, also excellent. We topped off the decadence with a blue cheese panna cotta, don't let the blue cheese scare you, it was ridiculous. We were visiting from AZ but will be back for sure! Highly highly recommend. Oh! One of the very patient and lovely staff crafted a perfect traditional macchiato for me as well :) above and beyond

We arrived for our Saturday brunch reservation about an hour early after a 5 hour drive from Birmingham, AL. When we checked in, we were offered a table at the bar if we didn't want to wait for a dining room table to open. We were seated in about 15 minutes. The service was great from the minute we walked in the door! After doing a little research on Atchafalaya, I realized that the owner Rachael was from Bolton, MA which boarders the small town of Clinton, MA where I grew up. When she stopped by our table to check on us, we had a great conversation about our home towns. She was very friendly. I ordered Tuscan eggs and my wife ordered the special of the day which was a breakfast Quiche and a side of cream cheese grits. We also ordered a boudin sausage to split. For drinks, we ordered a bubbles & butter and a espresso martini. We also ordered a tres leches bread pudding to take back to the hotel after brunch. The food was "out of this world" delicious and very memorable! The boudin was the best I've had. Atchafalaya will be a "must eat there" stop for us every time we return to New Orleans!

My husband and I took a quick trip to New Orleans and wanted to find somewhere really good for dinner. We found this place and it was SO SO good. He got the shrimp and grits and I got red fish. We shared a gumbo also. The atmosphere, service, and food was an 11/10. Go try it!

Willa Jean is a retro-chic café and restaurant located in the heart of the city. It is run by Pastry Chef Kelly Fields and Pastry Chef Lisa White, both known for their expertise in Southern-contemporary fare and baked goods. The café offers a wide range of delectable treats, from buttered banana bread to pecan sticky buns that are only available on Sundays.
The food here was so good! I went to Willa Jean for Sunday brunch while visiting New Orleans and it was a 10/10 experience. It’s no wonder that this place always has a bit of a wait time. The staff were friendly and professional, they didn’t make any fuss when we needed to exchange a menu item. Food was so fresh and tasty. Everything that we tried tasted fantastic. I can’t wait to go back. There’s no reservations but you can join the waitlist through their website. I would recommend checking the wait time before you head there so that you don’t have to wait too long to be seated.

Willa Jean in New Orleans is a very nice breakfast spot with a spacious, clean, and inviting atmosphere. I loved the bakery section and the overall vibes of the restaurant. The food was good — I tried the avocado toast and the crab omelet, both of which were enjoyable. The standout for me was the biscuit: perfectly flaky, buttery, and delicious, easily a 10/10. That said, while everything was solid, it wasn’t quite as mind-blowing as I expected based on all the hype. The avocado toast and omelet were tasty but didn’t leave a lasting impression. Overall, it’s a great spot for breakfast with quality food and a lovely atmosphere, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it a must-visit on a New Orleans trip.

Honestly the best brunch I’ve ever had. Everyone is super pleasant, great atmosphere, and delicious food. Save room for the milk and cookies for sure. Such a treat. The chicken and waffles is AMAZING. Michele was a great waitress!

What a fun experience. After a short wait, we made it to our table. The service was prompt and friendly, and the coffees were on the table in no time. Orders were taken, and food arrived in without much of a wait. The others in the group loved their meals and the chicken and waffles were really great. I struggled with the marshmallows melted on the dish and tried to get around them a bit. The chicken was juicy and the batter really lovely, and the waffle was well toasted with pecans and honey. Nothing much to say that was negative. The dining room is very large, and when it is full, as it often is, it gets loud. But that would be the only critique we could make. Parking, if you need it, is challenging. 4 stars, which, using my definition, means “good place, good value”. So, really check it out when you are in town. There are many great-looking dishes on the menu, and I will be back.

Willa Jean is definitely a new favorite. We went for breakfast while visiting N.O. and everything was amazing. We ordered the waffle, the hangover bowl, and the fried chicken sandwich, and all of it was so flavorful. The vibe is bright and welcoming and the staff was super friendly. If you’re in town and looking for a great breakfast or brunch spot, this place is a must. Already looking forward to coming back next trip.

Absolutely loved Willa Jean! The place is beautiful, cozy, and has such a welcoming vibe. Our server was super friendly, which made the experience even better. The food was amazing, we truly loved everything we ordered. The matcha latte and café au lait were both delicious, and we couldn’t resist taking some pastries and cookies to go. They were just perfect, flavorful and not overly sweet. Can’t wait to come back next time!

Really good. The hot honey had a great flavor and wasn't just Dave's Hot honey, it was something else. The biscuit didn't have as much flavor as I thought it would have, but was still good. The cappuccino was better than average.

The service from the host was amazing! They assisted us with our luggage, the wait was quite long but we were able to sit at the bar. Unfortunately, the eggs were cold but it was tasty. I would recommend as the biscuit was delicious.

BEST chicken and waffles i ever had! A nice sweet, but spicy kick to it!!! ABSOLUTELY recommend ! my husband loved the special they had on shrimp n grits! Mimosas were good, i got pineapple juice! Waitress was very sweet and always consistent on checking on us.

One of my local friends recommend this place, and I'm so glad they did. The food was amazing, came out quickly, and cooked to perfection. The staff was also super friendly. Definitely will be stopping by next time I'm in town.

We had breakfast everyday here during our recent trip in New Orleans. That tells you how much we loved this place. Great food, superb service, reasonable prices and good vibe. It’s always a bit tricky for vegetarians to find food in the Southern states, but there are a couple of options at this restaurant. They could also do gluten-free buns!

My my my, best chicken and waffles ever. Best fried chicken of my life and them grits.. normally I put salt, pepper and butter on my grits. Don't mess with these grits y'all, they're perfect the way they get dropped on your table. This is your perfect little hole in the wall restaurant that has the most delicious food.

Breakfast this morning was absolutely outstanding! Thank you, Adam and your team for a wonderful dining experience! Definitely will visit again when I’m back in New Orleans. The place had a nice vibe and the food overall was okay, but we personally didn’t enjoy the waffle and pancake — they had a weird sour taste that wasn’t for us. Everything else was fine, just not quite what we expected from brunch classics.

Great place to get breakfast or brunch in New Orleans. I got the pancake puffs with lemon. I feel like it’s more of a sharing plate, but it’s one of the items on the menu that popped out to me. The lemon sauce was pretty good, I think I prefer beignets over pancake puffs but again it was too cute not to order. I’ll definitely come back and order their savory dishes though.

The café offers a diverse menu with standout breakfast options like the 'Not Yo Mama's Corn Cakes' and signature sandwiches for later in the day. The café provides a welcoming atmosphere with sidewalk seating, making it an ideal place to enjoy Cajun-style eats, espresso drinks, and cocktails.
We planned a day trip to New Orleans, and this was our first stop for brunch. Our group really enjoyed the food, coffee drinks, and the cheerful and friendly atmosphere. I probably wouldn’t have found this hidden gem if it weren’t for a friend’s post and recommendation because it’s tucked away in a local neighborhood and truly feels like a spot cherished by locals.

We are in town for the weekend to watch the Saints vs Patriots game and were trying to find a locally owned establishment to support before heading that way. I got the WhoDat big breakfast while my wife had the Bywater Benè coupled with an iced Matcha latte & let me tell you they DID NOT disappoint! The atmosphere was very chill on a somewhat quiet corner with plenty of street parking nearby. Our server Gary was great! We will definitely be return customers every time we are in town!

Nestled in Mid City, Please-U-Restaurant is a cozy diner with a long-standing reputation for its Louisiana-style menu. The restaurant offers classic Southern dishes such as red beans and rice, shrimp po'boys, and fried catfish, along with an extensive selection of traditional breakfast items. In the vein of Anthony Bourdain, we decided to stop at what can only be described as a quintessential hole-in-the-wall. You could easily walk by Please-U and never realize it was there - but it would be your mistake. Seriously one of the best po boys I've ever had.

Russell's Marina Grill is a popular daytime diner located in the Lakeview neighborhood of New Orleans. Since 1985, it has been serving up a diverse menu of homestyle breakfast and lunch items, including traditional New Orleans favorites and their own unique creations. The retro vibe and scenic location along Lake Pontchartrain make it a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. While the service may be slow at times, the delicious food and waterfront setting make it worth the wait.
If you’re considering visiting Russel’s, do it! We visited in a Sunday and it was super packed, but luckily we were able to be quickly seated. All the staff we dealt with was super nice. They have a huge selection and everything is extremely affordable. We got Waffles bananas foster w/ ice cream($14), French toast bananas foster w/ice cream ($14), 3 chicken strips($5), and two scrambled eggs($2.60), which came to around $40, then another $20 for the two mimosas. We would definitely visit again!

The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service make it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal.
This was the perfect spot for a quiet Monday afternoon brunch date. The inside is quaint and inviting, but it was so beautiful that we sat outside on the picnic benches. So nice! We both loved our food, which was well-seasoned and arrived pretty quickly. The service we received from Bill was so warm and friendly, he was such a sweetheart! We will absolutely be back.

Tiny breakfast cafe in Mid city. We didn't show up early enough to avoid the wait. They only have 6 tables or so inside and several picnic tables outside. It was nice enough to sit and enjoy the weather. It was difficult to pick what we wanted. They have traditional style breakfast, eggs, pancakes, meats etc but the specials seem to be the favorites. The breakfast burrito was a popular choice but I got the sandwich and they got the tofu bowl. The sandwich was basic, but damn good. I like their sourdough and may buy some of their starter at another visit. The tofu bowl was equally excellent. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. It was a bit spicier than we were expecting with the jalapenos, but in a good way. It was busy but the staff was doing their best to keep everyone happy and satisfied.

5/19/24: I didn’t get a chance to try the food but the customer service was top notch. The restroom was clean and fully stocked with tissue and hand soap. The seating area inside is a bit quaint but there is also covered seating outside with large fans. Of course, the building is in great New Orleans fashion with the art and wild array of colors! I’ll be back soon to taste the food! 5/20/24: update with food pictures and food review. Bill waited on me and he was a pleasure. I went around 1p so there wasn’t a rush and it was pretty quiet, which I prefer honestly. I tried a light meal, the heart healthy omelette and it came with the Cajun smash hash as a side. It was definitely light as 30 minutes later, I don’t feel bogged down or nauseous. The Cajun smash hash was probably a 6/10 to me but not horrible. The lemonade is half the price of the orange sauce but was a bit too sweet for me..but no worries, I cut it with my water. Also, I ordered some fruit which was fresh and yummy. It came out to $26 and some change and I tipped of course. I highly recommend this place! Parking is a little tricky in this area because it’s residential but it’s New Orleans so if you’re a local, you already know the drill!

Wakin’ Bakin’ – A Quaint Breakfast Gem in New Orleans Wakin’ Bakin’ is a cute, quaint spot in New Orleans that we stumbled upon while looking for a new breakfast place to try. Located downtown, it’s a charming little restaurant with great food. We had breakfast, and I have to say the grits were amazing, and the biscuits were just as delicious. The poached eggs were perfectly scrumptious and velvety. My only complaint would be the coffee – at $5 a cup, it wasn’t great and could use some improvement. That aside, the service was good, with servers who seemed like easygoing owners. Overall, a great spot for breakfast, just skip the coffee!

Food not great, especially for New Orleans where food is legendary and major tourism revenue. I would go in for 4 dollar coffee, but the FOOD was most basic IHOP-made from box pancakes, stale turkey bacon AND twice/ three times the price. Coming from DC, not impressed.

A beautiful little cafe tucked away on a cute street corner. The breakfast tacos were delicious but they did take almost an hour to bring out our food. They have good vegan options with tofu scramble as a substitute for scrambled eggs. The only seating is outdoors which can be hot in the summer but it is shaded. Great tacos, pastries (options for vegan/vegetarian), coffee and teas! The food is fairly priced and the tacos are filled well. The atmosphere is relaxing, and our cashier, Solomon, was cool and helpful. They also use compostable straws and to-go boxes! Ordered the standard egg taco and a tofu taco, the mushroom/sweet potato savory pastry, and an iced latte. All were very tasty
Lizzario P — Google review
This is a cute neighborhood place, nice size patio, food is well seasoned, I ordered a curry chicken sandwich, they are out of bread, so they gave me a salad instead; but half of the salad leave is black and already gone bad. I am sure they don’t intent to do that, but oh well, they do need to check the quality of the salad and make sure they are fresh. To me, that’s the problem of a lot of neighborhood small, family run, hole in wall place, they are friendly, interesting, but the food quality is not consistent and lacks certain standard. All in all, still worth to give a try.
Jiao S — Google review
Staff were so friendly. Breakfast sandwich was huge and delicious. Iced coffee tasted amazing. Worth the stop!

Go-to neighborhood hangout. They have only outdoor seating since the pandemic started, with a subway style ordering window. It's mostly ok, given the May weather. The nice staff makes ordering a joy. Fresh pastries and a good variety of inventive drinks make things interesting. The people are the draw, as folks meet and greet at the tables and in front. Very fun to experience.
Hubert S — Google review
Pagoda Cafe has been on my list as a place to visit for several years. I was just never near the location during their opening hours. Apparently, it’s not been long since they reopened post pandemic. You order at the window and when your order is ready, they bring the food to a particular table and call your name. All seating is outdoor. I particularly enjoyed the mango lassi and the guava cream cheese puffs; although, I was puzzled as to why they called them “puffs” when there was only one. I wish there would have been something me mention that the sweet potato, mushroom and brown rice turnover was spicy, because nothing led me to that conclusion when I ordered the item. Some may have found the spiciness a pleasant surprise, but I didn’t. I found both turnovers lacking in flakiness, good, but not excellent.

Visited new Orleans and decided to check this place out, it was packed to capacity!! We figured the food must be to die for, we waited almost an hour for our drink order to be taken, the longest I've ever waited, hands down. The food came, I got chicken and waffles and a side of corn bread. The chicken was delicious, my waffle was too dry to finish, the corn bread was ok. Was it worth the 2 hr 30 mins spent there? Certainly not. But the staff was sweet and very apologetic for the long wait.

Located in a historic 1788 building with weathered brick walls, the Original Pierre Maspero's offers classic Creole cuisine and cocktails. The restaurant is part of a group of New Orleans eateries competing to make the best oyster po-boy. The building has a rich history, having once served as a coffee house for pirates and hosted figures like Andrew Jackson.
This is genuinely one of the best restaurants I've EVER eaten at! I cannot express in words just how good it is. First of all, I was already dissatisfied with my trip to New Orleans to begin with. But this restaurant alone would make the whole city worth it. First of all, the bread pudding is absolutely to die for! I order bread pudding at every restaurant I go to (when available) for the sake of comparisons, and believe me when I tell you - I do not think this restaurant could ever be topped! Also, I mostly eat vegetarian and a lot of restaurant have a pretty bland menu when it comes to meatless options. But this restaurants vegetarian pasta was delicious. Moreover, the bowtie pasta appetizer with spinach dip was PHENOMENAL. I want to recreate it at home sooooo badly. Plus: they played actually good music on the radio/overhead but not at an obnoxious volume. I do not care how far away I live, I vow to return to this restaurant someday.

The food was good, and the service was absolutely spectacular. What really sets this place apart is the setting—eating in such a historic location made the whole experience feel special. While the food was a little overpriced, I still think it’s worth checking out. Overall, a great place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere. I’d recommend it!

Pierre Maspero’s – A True New Orleans Treasure Since 1788 Dining at Pierre Maspero’s is like stepping back in time while savoring the authentic flavors that make New Orleans cuisine legendary. As one of the city’s oldest restaurants, this historic gem offers not only incredible food but also an atmosphere rich with charm and Southern hospitality. Our meal reflected the very essence of traditional New Orleans gourmet. The Blackened Redfish, made with fresh Louisiana red drum and seasoned to perfection with Cajun spices, was simply outstanding. Served with French fries, flavorful jambalaya, and topped with jumbo lump crabmeat, it was a dish that beautifully balanced spice, texture, and local flair. The Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pasta was equally satisfying—tender chicken over perfectly cooked fettuccine tossed in a creamy, decadent Alfredo sauce that added a comforting richness to the meal. The Crescent City Sampler offered the best of New Orleans classics in one plate, featuring Cajun jambalaya, red beans and rice, and chicken & andouille gumbo—each bite full of authenticity and bold Creole flavor. The staff truly elevated the experience. They were courteous, attentive, and delightfully funny, adding a personal touch that made our evening even more enjoyable. The lively atmosphere—with a perfect mix of history, laughter, and Louisiana charm—made it easy to see why Pierre Maspero’s continues to be a favorite among locals and visitors alike. If you’re visiting New Orleans, Pierre Maspero’s is an absolute must. It’s more than just a meal—it’s an experience steeped in history, heart, and unforgettable flavor.

We ended up here by fluke because the place we originally planned to go was closed for a private event and I am so glad it happened! We ordered blackened redfish and veggie Alfredo pasta and both were absolutely amazing. Fish was super fresh and we enjoyed every bite. The bread pudding at the end was spot on too. The food was so good that we didn’t leave a single crumb. Definitely a 5-star experience. I will be visiting this place again !!
Selifa L — Google review
Had the 4-dish sampler and each item was very good. The jambalaya though, had to be the best. Incredibly filling and delicious food! I got the bread pudding to go and I was disappointed by the lack of whipped cream on the bread pudding. The front door is open though, so it is very loud. They get very busy, so the service can be improved.
Jessica H — Google review
Had the blackened redfish with jambalaya and roasted veggies on the recommendation of Shelly our waitress. It was by far the best Cajun dish I had in New Orleans. We had an outstanding meal with a vegetarian friendly off menu Po boy for my wife. Shout out to Shelly for the personal service and charm that she brought to our evening and compliments to the Chef!

I got the Andouille and Eggs and it was incredible. Heavy, but so good. The waitstaff were very friendly and my server was impeccable. I will definitely be returning.

Loved this place! I ordered the fish po-boy and my son ordered the shrimp. My wife ordered the seafood potpie. The food was delicious. Especially the bread pudding for dessert. We actually tried bread pudding at 3 other restaurants around NOLA and theirs was by far the best in town. My only complaint is the po-boys were supposed to come with Tabasco mayo but there wasn't any on either po boy. I had to ask the waitress for some. Even without the mayo the po-boys were delicious but the mayo did make it better. We loved the bread pudding so much we stopped in on our last day in NOLA just for dessert. I wish there was a Pierre Maspero near us. Or some way to have that bread pudding shipped here.

Cafe Beignet, located in the French Quarter, is a charming bistro known for its intimate atmosphere and delicious Cajun fare. The cafe offers a variety of menu items including beignets, café au lait, omelets, sandwiches, gumbo, and jambalaya. While some consider their beignets to be even better than Cafe du Monde's famous pastries, others find them slightly heavier and cakier.
A small café with a surprisingly beautiful interior design that instantly catches the eye. The service was excellent—warm, friendly, and efficient. We absolutely loved the handmade beignets; they were fresh, light, and delicious. The French toast was equally enjoyable—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also tried the veggie and mushroom omelets, both of which were tasty and satisfying. Their coffee menu is extensive, and every cup we tried was rich and flavorful. A fantastic spot for breakfast—I highly recommend stopping by!

On our last day in New Orleans, and everyone wanted breakfast. The grits—did not disappoint! I won’t give away the secret ingredient… you’ll have to taste them for yourself. The food was amazing, and the service matched it perfectly. We had originally stopped by the Bourbon Street location, but it wasn’t open, and this spot was recommended instead. I’m actually glad it worked out that way—otherwise, we might have missed this wonderful dining experience in such a charming, quaint location.

Loved the ambience. The live music adds a nice touch to the entire environment. The Beignets were definitely nice, fluffy and warm. The coffee served here has chicory that adds a very unique flavour that is known to Indians as 'filter coffee' and also adds to the thickness of the coffee.

Great little spot in French quarter. Pastries and coffee. Beignet are a New Orleans must try. 3 pack for good price. Made fresh and covered with powdered sugar. Atmosphere is part of the experience.

I will take these over the Cafe Du Monde every single day. They are a thicker version with all kinds of options. These were a pecan and caramel and I could have eaten the cardboard boat. Great location and not as crowded. Right next to the police pct too. Bring your appetite and definitely make this a stop

OK, I had a southern breakfast which was good. The eggs were OK at atmosphere was nice. Everybody seemed like they were happy and the beignets are absolutely delicious. They make them hot and I think that’s what makes a difference than eating a cold one. Overall, this is the place for beignets and I would highly recommend.
Clantz_b _ — Google review
The best delicious break on a cold windy day. Warm greeting, fresh hot coffee, freshly cooked hot beignets (huge!) and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Deserves to be the fav coffee & beignet spot in New Orleans. So much better than today’s Cafe du Monde!

Loved this cute cafe it is the cutest French-inspired decor. Loved the cute French table and chairs. Loved the variety of coffee options and the huge delicious beignets. OMG, the beignets are hands down the best I have had this week. I love the setting. It is a small place but I loved watching people/families/friends enjoying themselves. 😊 ☺️ ❤️

Jimmy J's Cafe is a vibrant and inviting eatery located in the heart of New Orleans. The cafe is renowned for its generous portions of delicious food, including unique dishes like Captain Crunch french toast and traditional N'awlins cuisine such as fried shrimp and oyster po-boys. Using only the freshest local ingredients, Jimmy J's prides itself on making everything from scratch, resulting in an awesome taste that keeps both locals and tourists coming back for more.
What a fantastic little gem in New Orleans! The 3 meat omelette was delicious, and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly every time (7 poached eggs on Benedict’s different ways over 2 days between us, and every one of them was perfect)! Spaghetti’s service was excellent (Stephanie), and the food was excellent, as already mentioned. Coffee was good (smooth and not at all bitter), and my wife says her hot green tea was the best she’s had anywhere on this trip! If we’re ever back in New Orleans, this will be right at the top of the list of our places to visit again! 😋😋

We came early for breakfast to avoid the lines and were seated promptly. Diesel was fantastic and answered any questions we had about the menu or drinks. She made us feel at home and was friendly joking around with us and making sure we had everything we needed during our meal. The food and drinks were great and the vibe of the entire place was fun. Spaghetti was also working and contributed alot to the fun atmosphere making diners feel at ease. When in NOLA be sure to check it out. Very cute cozy space.

If you're in New Orleans and looking for an incredible breakfast spot, Jimmy J’s is an absolute must! From the moment we walked in, we felt the warm and inviting energy of this gem. Our server, Disel, was fantastic—polite, friendly, and incredibly attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Now, let’s talk about the food—every single bite was pure bliss! We ordered the Western Omelet, Breakfast Burrito, and Cheese Grits, and they did not disappoint. The omelet was perfectly fluffy and packed with flavor, the burrito was hearty and smothered in delicious sauce, and the cheese grits were the definition of Southern comfort. But the home fries—oh wow! They were so flavorful and crispy that we didn't even think about reaching for the ketchup. To top it all off, we sipped on Peach Long Island, Hurricane, and Sweet Tea—a perfect blend of refreshing and bold flavors that complemented our meal beautifully. Jimmy J’s captures the true essence of NOLA hospitality and flavor. If you’re in town, do yourself a favor and check them out. Five stars all the way!

Very good food. Enjoyed the shrimp French toast, although I would have preferred less sauce. Very limited seating. Servers are friendly, but seemed to have a lot to do so couldn't be as attentive as they'd like to be.

Stopped for breakfast. Ordered French Toast with bacon and my wife ordered small order of Sausage and Biscuits. Weird gravy and sausages in gravy not white with sausage cut up in the gravy.
Joe B — Google review
I stopped in for a quick cheesy shrimp omelette. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I really thought it would have more flavor. It tasted exactly like it sounds. I just thought there would be some New Orleans zip to it for some reason. The waitress was really cool. They accidentally sent my food to a different customer, so it took a while longer, but that didn’t matter. I ate out on the street. That was cool. The next time I’m in New Orleans, I will give this place a second try and try something else.

Cafe Amelie is a charming restaurant located in the French Quarter, offering an elegant contemporary Louisiana menu. The highlight of this spot is its lush courtyard with a beautiful fountain, making it a romantic and picturesque dining setting. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor dining areas, with the historic courtyard being particularly popular for its ambiance.
The food was very delicious! This place was definitely one of our favorites in the area. The flavors in every bite make you wish for more, and the staff was great. The patio is absolutely inviting, surrounded by beautiful plants that make you feel relaxed and at home. Inside, it’s super cozy with lots of paintings that add a warm, artistic touch. Be sure to try the shrimp and grits, they’re mouthwatering! Don’t forget to stop by!

food was absolutely delectable! the shrimp and grits were packed with so much flavor, this is a must try for sure. the ricotta and peach was also very tasty, with the spicy cheese and fresh peaches. the potatoes were okay, nothing crazy. service was slow and food took quite a while. the decor is super cute and overall would recommend!
Gelek T — Google review
The main reason I came to NOLA this year with my friends was to eat at Cafe Amelie. I must do it each time I visit. When I first visited the establishment years and years ago, I fell in love with the courtyard and the vibe it provided... Especially with the fountain. To my surprise, the restaurant moved and no longer has the beautiful courtyard. However they do have a cute little outdoor area in the back. But it's not the same :/ I hope they re-form in the previous location. Food was great. As always.

This was SOOOO good. I mean we knew going into it it was going to be that way bc they were PACKED on Sunday night. Had the chicken breast entree and it was perfect and they’re reputable for it and for right reasons! Also the spinach artichoke dip was good for appetizer. I missed entree pic and mocktail but mocktail was great too and not like sugary but tasted great.
Vimal P — Google review
I’d been wanting to try Café Amelie for a while, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The food and service were fantastic from start to finish. The courtyard was beautifully decorated for Halloween, and all the staff were in full clown makeup—it added such a fun, festive touch without taking away from the great dining experience. Food and drinks were both on point. The house special blackberry whiskey cocktail was a standout. The beet salad and BLT were excellent, and the pork sandwich—the cochon—was absolutely loaded with tender, flavorful pork. Perfect mix of charm, creativity, and great food. Definitely worth the wait!

I am still sitting in the restaurant and had to leave a review! The food here is SO GOOD! I wanted some real shrimp and grits as we can’t get it in northern Indiana. It was delicious! And my husband had the chicken, which he loved, and an affogato, which you can’t get many places. The cafe is adorable and the staff is super nice. Highly recommend!

Café Fleur De Lis is a cozy and casual café located in the heart of the Historical French Quarter. It offers ample portions of quick, counter-served breakfasts and lunches. The café features a cute outdoor balcony space where you can enjoy delicious French toast, omelets, sandwiches, and their famous beignets. The Southern French Toast is also highly recommended if you have a sweet tooth. Despite some waiting time for food, the friendly staff and clean environment make it worth it.
If breakfast were a parade, this place would be the grand marshal. Cafe Fleur De Lis is what happens when Southern hospitality meets French Quarter flair and decides to serve you seafood Benedict with a side of beignets. Located just off Jackson Square, it’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like a local, even if you’re still figuring out how to pronounce “Chartres.” Eat this: • The Big Easy is a full-on breakfast symphony, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and toast. No notes missed. • The Seafood Benedict is a decadent remix: poached eggs over fried crab cakes, topped with creamy hollandaise and a whisper of garlic lemon sauce. • The Beignets? Pillow-soft, powdered sugar bombs. They don’t compete with Café du Monde, they wink at it. Drink this: Pair it all with a Bloody Mary or a bourbon-laced Irish coffee if you’re feeling festive. Otherwise, their espresso hits the mark. Shoutout: Our server Ethan was a total gem, friendly, attentive, and genuinely good at making you feel welcome. The kind of person who makes breakfast taste better just by showing up. Feel this: The vibe is relaxed, the staff are genuinely kind, and the decor is a blend of Southern charm and French Quarter nostalgia. You’ll spot locals, jazz fest veterans, and tourists all happily carb-loading before their next adventure. Pro tip: Get there early, doors open at 7am and the brunch crowd rolls in fast. No reservations, but the wait’s worth it. This isn’t just breakfast. It’s a civic experience. A little greasy, a little glorious, and totally New Orleans.

*10 October 2025* Visiting from Atlanta. Me and my friend dined just in time because the line was out the door once we finished our meal. My food was good, but I'm not a big fan of boudin sausage -- that's just me and my taste buds that don't agree with the flavor. My scrambled eggs, grits, biscuit, and OJ were good, though. Whenever I'm back in NOLA, I'll definitely try this place again, but will get something different instead.

First time eating here, after being in New Orleans for 2 days. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of both the food and coffee. I had the Creole Country breakfast, and a latté. The Creole Breakfast consists of eggs your way, smoked boudin, a biscuit, and a side of grits. The Smoked Boudin had a great flavor and I really enjoyed it. The grits as well we're flavorful and a nice accompaniment to the dish. The biscuits were fresh, crispy and soft and on the inside. The latté was made right in front of us at the bar, and it was expertly prepared by Frankie at the bar. We had a great time, and we would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice dine in spot for breakfast.

Arrived early (8:30ish) on a Sat morning and was thankful to be allowed seating on the balcony. Friendly service, some food items were not as warm as they should have been, but tasted good. Came back the next morn' and dined inside, GREAT service and DELICIOUS cheese grits! All food was perfectly hot this visit. We will return on future trips into town!

Our meal at Café Fleur de Lis was nothing short of outstanding! We only waited about 10 minutes for a table, and it was well worth it. On our server’s recommendation, I went with the étouffée omelette (torn between that and the crab & shrimp eggs Benedict), and it was absolutely the right call. My husband ordered the pancakes and declared, “these are the best pancakes I’ve ever had.” He’s never said that before, so I know he meant it! We were traveling with our 10-month-old, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. They accommodated our request for balcony seating, even offering to keep an eye on the stroller while we ate. Our little one loved the food too, especially the grits, though the pancakes definitely stole the show. Thank you, Café Fleur de Lis, for making our last meal in New Orleans such a memorable and exceptional experience. We’ll be back on our next trip!
Sara K — Google review
The scrambled eggs are the worse I ever had—dry and basically an omelette cut into pieces to resemble scrambled eggs. I actually sent the first batch back and requested soft scrambled eggs. Nope. The same as before but I think even worse. The sausage was also dry and burned on one side. The grits were delicious. The bacon was okay as well as the pancakes. Probably the shrimp and grits would’ve been a better meal choice because the grits are delicious.

The Creole House Restaurant & Oyster Bar is a charming seafood eatery located in a historic building on Canal Street. Despite potential wait times, visitors find the experience well worth it as they indulge in familiar Cajun and Creole dishes and sandwiches. The restaurant's Sauteed Crab Claws are particularly recommended, featuring flavorful Louisiana crab claws sautéed in an olive oil and garlic vinaigrette.
It was a bit loud because we were right off Canal but everything else was phenomenal. Our waiter Bilal was so friendly and informative. We did wish the food was a bit more spicier but we were informed they toned it down a bit. I had the stuffed fish. It was so flavorful and a really good portion. I wasn't a fan of the green beans I dont like my vegetables crunchy. A friend of mine ordered the hot honey chicken which wasn't hot at all it was sweet and flavorful though. The other friend ordered the Jamabalay pasta 10/10 so, so good! We got crab cakes and oysters for apps and they bother were really good. The crab cakes were small but they came in 2.

We enjoyed all the food. The crab cakes are a whole nother level. The jalapeno coleslaw is amazing with them. I had shrimp Creole and it did not disappoint. Husband had the shrimp platter

This was a great find. Close to my hotel and they have a Happy hour Monday to Friday 3-6. The happy hour menu includes $1.50 oysters, so i had to be there! I love oysters!!! And they have so many options to close from, 6 ways too be exact. All very good. I loved chargrilled, must try. Of course the raw is a classic. I sat at the bar so i got to see the action, they chuck them right there! The staff was great, very friendly. I had a dirty martini, not great but it was ok. Their blackberry brumble was great. I also had Boudin boulettes, a must try, they were great. And for dinner i had their jambalaya pasta, which was great but it was not as hot as i would've liked. It really wasn't hot at all which is why they lost a star. It was a busy night, food took a while so it should've been hot. That was disappointing but it was still very good.

This was our first trip to the New Orleans downtown scene and made this our first restaurant stop. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. The service was excellent and we had a great time. I had the jambalaya with the chicken wings and they were fried to perfection. Will certainly go back again

I had the blackened chicken & shrimp jambalaya. It was very dry. Others in the party had po-boys and fries. The bread was hard, but the fries were good. The adult beverages though were really good and made the more enjoyable. Our sever, Jade was good too.

Amazing tasting food, a especially friendly service and a nice surroundings, that's what you want for enjoying your time i a Restaurant. Everything you will find here. The Kambalaya tastes amazing, the Duck and Andullie was good but the best was the Crawfish Étouffée. So i can really recommend this if you want good and tasty food.

The customer service was excellent! I wish I could remember our severs name. I think it was Matthew, but I am probably completely wrong. The chicken was delicious. Was waffle could use a little work. Overall, it was a good experience.
Deatrice S — Google review
Let me first say, the atmosphere and the taste of the food was so amazing!! I was really excited to try the crab claws after reading so many reviews about them online. The sauce was TO DIE FOR. My only disappointment was that I only got five tiny claws in a $20 dish. Because I thought this was a mistake, I asked my server and she said it was correct ‘because it’s based on the weight’. Many photos online show anywhere from 15-20 claws, which is why I felt mine was a fluke. Either way, the taste was out of this world, so maybe I’m just upset I didn’t have more! lol My sister ordered the shrimp po-boy and it was OVERLOADED with shrimp. So so good!!

One of the best breakfast places in town 😉 We went for brunch around 10 a.m. on Thursday; few tables were available, but many people came and went. It was a very busy place! Their giant biscuits were amazing! They were moisturized inside and freshly baked. I wanted to take one biscuit back, too. Maybe next time, I will order one to go as well. I love hash potatoes, so I ordered it double but I saw their hash brown is the diced potato not shredded potato haha 😅

Rolled into NOLA for a work conference and it is HOT. But I didn’t want my first meal here to be in the hotel, so I was delighted to find this spot a three-minute walk from the Sheraton. We were in New Orleans for a 4-day vacation and ended up at Majoria’s Commerce Restaurant for breakfast on 3 of those mornings — that alone should tell you how much we loved it! The food was consistently great, and the service was warm, friendly, and welcoming every time. The star of the show, though, has to be their butter biscuits. Hands down, the best we’ve ever had in our lives. My friend and I even joked (only half-joking!) that we’d fly back to New Orleans just for another biscuit. If you’re in the city and looking for a true breakfast gem, Majoria’s Commerce should be at the top of your list.

honestly so delicious. not a single miss. got okra gumbo, shrimp and grits (amazing), and the vegan red beans. we had both the regular and vegan beignets and all the food hit the spot. bloody mary was perfectly savory and spicy.

This place saved me with amazing GF gumbo and herbed GF toast! I was struggling in New Orleans, where much of the food is fried or otherwise gluten contaminated. I walked into the outdoor French Market and found this stall; Meals From the Heart. I was saved! The gumbo was full of chicken and sausage and shrimp and made me so happy I almost wept. Thank you, sweet lady at the counter, for saving me from the prospect of my choking down another GF protein bar.

This is a market style place, but they have an amazing vegan menu and I only wish I was hungrier. Being in New Orleans I thought I better have the Okra Gumbo which was delicious. Not the sort of thing I’d normally order and I fought the urge to go one of the amazing looking Po-boys, but glad I did! It was delicious, and light, and the small was perfect as a snack, especially accompanied by the amazing Bloody Mary, which was LOADED with edible garnishes. Loved it and the atmosphere of the market was perfect for a quick pit stop in New Orleans.

The menu also features quality breakfast sandwiches, juices, smoothies, and some of the best grits in the city. Highly recommend Two Chicks Cafe for breakfast/brunch. The service is really good, and the food is very very good. We had a party of 8 and they were able to sit us together which we really appreciated. The only issue I did have was that the table was extremely crowded with excessive baskets of jams, butters, creamers. I feel like one was enough for our table of 8 but there were like 4 baskets. I ended spilling some of my coffee because of how crowded the table was, or maybe it was clumsiness. I did appreciate that our server did mop my mess though, she was very kind. The food is very fresh, they serve some vegetarian options that are labeled as vegetarian as well. We also placed an order to go and that was also very good. Overall, I definitely recommend eating here, the wait is worth it.

We loved everything about this place!! Our service was not confined to our server, but the entire team taking care of our hospitality. Everyone checked on us, helped with refills, removed empty plates, and all with big, beaming smiles! Our order included a house basil-cucumber lemonade, Papa’s French Toast, and Farmhouse Omelet with potatoes and a side of sour dough bread. The portions were larger than we expected which was so nice! In addition to our amazing food and service, the atmosphere is lively, the music is upbeat, and the decor is the cutest! Would’ve happily paid twice as much but glad we didn’t have to! Gave it to our waitress instead!

BEST breakfast I’ve had on my trip! My family and I aren’t local and were looking for a home style breakfast; this place checked all of the boxes. Everything was fresh and super yummy. The staff was VERY attentive and super nice! Not to mention it was decorated SO nice, very homey. Would definitely recommend for your breakfast needs.

The food is excellent! And they give you plenty! I had the shrimp and grits,so flavorful and such a generous portion! A gentleman in the restaurant shared with me that he had a made-to-order omelet and had enough left over to have for breakfast the next day (and it was very tasty! )! The servers were very nice and attentive. The prices very exceptionally reasonable given the quality and taste of the meal and the portion size.

Found this place during a work trip to New Orleans. Let's just say we went back 4 more times that week while we were in town. Quiet, Cozy & Delicious food that comforts the soul. Definitely recommending to anyone visiting to try. The Grits bowl was my favorite since we been on a health kick, but ended the trip with the Traditional Benedict and French Toast for a nice cheat day. Thank you again.

First restaurant I’ve eaten at in New Orleans and I have to say… this place was absolutely adorable. The waitress was sweet and very prompt. The food proportions were much bigger than i anticipated and well worth the amount you pay!

Delicious Lunch at Two Chicks Café We had lunch at this café and it was truly a delightful experience. We ordered the Thai Shrimp Poboy, the Kickin' Chicken Omelet, and a Banana Split Smoothie—all of which were absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were spot on. The Thai Shrimp Poboy had the perfect balance of spice and freshness, while the Kickin' Chicken Omelet was hearty and flavorful. The smoothie was a sweet and refreshing treat to round out the meal. The café itself has a great vibe....warm, welcoming, and relaxed. The atmosphere added so much to the overall experience. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We loved everything about this place: the food, the staff, and the cozy ambiance. Definitely a spot we'd love to come back to. Highly recommended 🤗

IHOP is a well-established chain that has been serving a diverse range of American breakfast and diner dishes for over 60 years. The restaurant is renowned for its famous buttermilk pancakes, along with an array of other breakfast and brunch options such as crepes, French toast, omelets, and Belgian waffles. Customers can expect friendly service from the staff while enjoying their meals.
We had a very nice breakfast at the IHOP on Canal Street. They have the interior fixed up very nicely, with a wall displaying Hurricane Katrina items. The seating is varied with good spacing. The gentleman that seated us and our server were both very friendly and outgoing. Our food was very good and the coffee was hot. Very pleased.

Mixed emotions about the visit. Took almost an hour for my pancakes when there was only one other table of two in the building which already had their food and the manger sent the server into the bathroom to me on the toliet to get my order instead of waiting for me to return to the table. The bathrooms were also nasty. On the contrary the pancakes were really good….

The food was delicious. My husband had the Waffle Combo. I had the Pancake Combo. Our server was great. She was nice and checked in on us to make sure we had refills and to see if we needed anything. The decor in the restaurant was really cool. It's a collection of antique doors, old gates, shutters and frames from New Orleans. Also if you are a Andy Griffith Show fan you'll appreciate the photo in the back. It's of Hal Smith, he was The Pancake Man for IHOP in the late 50's and early 60's. It was a children's show sponsored by IHOP.

As soon as my friends and I walked in we were greeted by 3 employees and all had smiles on their faces. Our server Alicia was amazing! We had a couple of requests and she came through and our meal was so good!!! We left full and happy. Thanks for treating us so kind .

We stayed upstairs at an airb&b and came down to IHOP for breakfast. I cannot speak more highly of the staff. Our waiter, the waitress and the manager were all so helpful and friendly. And the food was great, and also reasonably priced for being in a tourist area. They are doing something right there becase the clients AND the staff all seem happy. I stopped by to grab a cup of coffee as we checked out at 6am and even those employees were pleasant and helpful. Great job!!!

I'll start with the bad there was only manager, 1 server, and 1 cook. I understand it's a Monday night but in a city as busy as this one with the location being on one of the busiest streets, come on🙄. The bathrooms also need some serious attention. The stall doors look like they've clearly been kicked in a time or two. Also, I'm pretty mad that a single glass of chocolate milk was $7. That's wild. Now the good, our sever was an older lady with red hair and she was so unbelievably sweet. Even with the chaos going on of a bunch of tables all at once she kept her composure and got everyone their food. The location itself was nice as well. The music was a bit loud but it's really cozy in here. I would definitely come back but I would definitely skip the chocolate milk lol.

Spend a 3 night Caesar's Reward Air trip in NOLA which is about a 15 minute walk or so from the casino to IHOP. It is 24/7 and some of the tables were put up as the crew were cleaning during the slow time...we were the only ones there. The wife ordered cinnamon roll strawberry crepes...huge portion and looked amazing. I ordered a burger and out of the three I had on the trip this was the best one. The other two were Bobby's Burgers and Burger Bar on Canal. Both were good though. Worth the stop if you are avoiding the more expensive places around. They were very helpful while discussing my wife's garlic intolerance as well.

Picked up to go order and we didn't have silverware, napkins, syrup, butter, or a whole order of turkey sausage. Went to the store later after calling and being told it would be made right..... only to be offered silverware for our breakfast from hours before that we couldn't eat half of and the parts we did have weren't impressive. Do not recommend. Go somewhere else.

Place is beautiful inside and outside, food doesn’t have anything special as I thought it could since the place is so cute, and located in a nice calm corner. Service at the cashier was a little weird. I wouldn’t come back, but I think is a cute beautiful infrastructure and design.

FAITH!! My girl Faith was the best experience about the place, an everything in there is great! So that says a lot. She's just a genuinely good person with a dope Vibe!! Her vibe was so infectious I forgot my card in the card machine. Called back she knew exactly who I was and held my card for me. If you haven't experience this place yet, do yourself a favor and try the drinks and pastries most definitely the chocolate is great. Faith Vibe honestly made me feel welcomed. As a local, this is my favorite coffee shop in the city. They are typically busy mornings/weekends (as is every place in the quarter), so plan accordingly, but the wait is worth it. They have a LOT of coffee and food options, so you're sure to find something you're into. The staff is also extremely kind and efficient. Even if the line is long, it'll go pretty fast. The indoor/outdoor seating is really awesome.

The restaurant offers sidewalk seating and serves up hearty Southern fare in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Known for its bustling breakfast scene, the menu features classic dishes like fluffy omelets, grits, carrot waffles, and signature items such as the Jewish Coonass and Havana Omelet.
We had a wonderful breakfast. Three dishes: The Bomb, the huevos rancheros, and the vegan rancheros. All three were excellent, both tasty and filling. The side plantains were perfectly prepared, and the salsa was very good.

It's a small place and I think that works for this restaurant. The Chicken and Waffles with hot honey was excellent. My wife had the Basic Breakfast, and it's looked good. The bloody may was ok and had too much horseradish for my liking. I prefer spicy but not fishy, and this was on the fishy side. While this place uses exported crawfish, I appreciate that being on the menu.

Don’t miss out! I just got back from New Orleans and hit up many restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I happen to have a gluten allergy, and I was with a friend who is a vegetarian. Going out for a Southern breakfast was a series of the two of us deconstructing the menu and leaving disappointed. Well, not the case at Horns! First of all, the place is decorated with fun, quirky art, a lot of which I noticed, was for sale! Next, the people who worked there were friendly. Which sadly was not the case in many places. Our food was delicious, perfect, plentiful, reasonably priced and piping hot. Make sure you come by there and enjoy a real good breakfast or lunch- you’ll want to go back- I do!

Went here for breakfast/brunch as it had good reviews and was near our hotel. It's a sort of serve yourself sort of place... very casual. But the staff is very nice and the food was quite tasty. I opted for the Cuban sandwich with fries. The place was clean and not overly crowded when we went. But there were only maybe 15 or so tables. I liked the food and I'd go here again if I'm in this area.

The bakery and café Toast offers a variety of breakfast items such as French toast, toast with toppings, and aebleskiveras. In addition to providing a healthy option, the café also emphasizes on customer service and satisfaction.
For brunch in the Quarter, I like Toast on Decatur. Service is friendly, and accommodated our recent weekend walk-in visit quickly (they also have an online waitlist). The atmosphere is busy but bright and cheery with lots of windows overlooking the park across the street. A few tables out front for dining al fresco. The oysters with my fried oyster toast weren’t the tastiest (to be expected out of season) but the portion was great for the price. Lots of sweet options like aebelskivers and crepes and stuffed French toasts.

Cute little place! Server was great, very friendly and super attentive. Coffee always was kept full! The crepes were delicious and I loved that the server recommended adding bacon to the French toast, it was so sweet I needed the salty bacon to break it up. My only complaint was the French toast was huge, a smaller size served with something to break up the sweet would have been better.

This breakfast restaurant is a gem! They offer a great variety of options, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The French toast was fluffy, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced with sweetness. The chicken and waffles were another highlight—the chicken had an amazing crunch with tons of flavor, and the spicy butter that came with it was fantastic. The waffles themselves were light and tasty, making the whole dish come together perfectly. To top it off, the mimosa was fresh, flavorful, and poured just right. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch!

Visited New Orleans and found this place. The food was amazing, our waitress was super nice and friendly. We sat outside because we had a dog which the tables were a little small and so was the space but that was more due to the sidewalk not the resteraunts fault. I would def go back if we ever visit again.

Satsuma Cafe is a trendy coffeehouse in the Bywater area, offering locally sourced American cuisine in a charming brick-walled setting. It's a popular spot for remote workers, with ample seating including a long cushy booth and communal high-top perfect for collaboration. The cafe is known for its delicious avocado toasts with whipped feta and chili oil, as well as bagels with lox and cream cheese featuring caramelized onions.
One of my favorite coffee shops in the city! Amazing service and delicious coffee. I love the outdoor area under the trees. Such a peaceful environment. I had the bagel with lox and it was very good. It's also in a great part of town with a lot of cool shops around. Perfect if you want to get your coffee and wander around!

We visited Satsuma Café in the Bywater on a friend’s recommendation, and what a hidden gem it is! Tucked away in a quiet corner, this café offers both delicious food and a peaceful, cozy vibe. I have a nut allergy and was relieved to find the staff incredibly accommodating. They took extra care to make sure my meal was prepared safely and without cross-contamination. My son had his eye on the green eggs and ham, but it came with a basil pesto made with pine nuts—so we flagged that early and they were very careful from there on out. I ended up ordering the burrito—the salsa that comes with it ties everything together beautifully! My family also enjoyed a pancake and a croissant egg and cheese sandwich, both of which were big hits. We sat outside in the courtyard, which was quiet and quaint, with birds hopping between the plants and trees. It felt like a little oasis in the city. If you’re looking for a relaxing spot with great food and staff who truly care, Satsuma is a must-visit in New Orleans.

*Update While there was delivery through food apps just last month, Satsuma is not able to do food delivery for some reason. Whoever the man is that answered my call 2 weeks ago, is not someone I would hire or want touching my food. It's unfortunate that people bring their misery into service business. The rest of staff is excellent. I used to frequent Satsuma when I lived in Bywater years ago. I loved the food and vibe there. I was happy to return since moving back and ordered the Breakfast Burrito for delivery and than dined in with my dog within 2 days because I was craving that burrito and the salsa it comes with. The staff here is so kind and go beyond what I expected. Peter is jovial and treated us like a house guest who needs for nothing. The man washing dishes in back was singing with the music so well, the soul was felt. That's great vibes I want around my food ! I have got the green juice twice also and got that to go because I couldn't Not, try the lavender coffee. Also got warmed blueberry muffin with butter. It's was a real blueberry muffin as in, it tasted like it was homemade with whole ingredients. Of course it was so delightful. My dog was given a treat the first last week also. Sweet. They still have books on a shelf here and the places is so spacious and comfortable to stay around. With outdoor seating for pets, I appreciate havens like this. Always will return here.

They cleaned off surfaces to prepare our meals. My husband and I are both very sensitive and felt fine after this meal. Amazing coffee here, too.

Some say the day starts when the sun rises, but any masters of life know time doesn't begin until you've stepped into Satsuma Cafe. Forget the fart (& whatever else) that freely flowed out of you in the early AM. No need to remember the muscle you pathetically pulled failing to reach the snooze button shortly after. Nothing before Satsuma matters. (And nothing after.) Married? Now you're single. A parent? There was never a child. Employed? Step directly to the cash register to completely omit any & all responsibilities. Who needs a paycheck, family or a life when the cuisine & vibes are this spectacular? Without Satsuma you are nothing. Make something of yourself - nay - make something EXTRAORDINARY of yourself & come support a cafe that will revolutionize the very core of your DNA. Easter Drag Brunch was AMAZING. The queens provides fantastic entertainment, the whole show was well managed, and we had a great time. Our crew of 11 loved the service and attention we received by the establishment. We were celebrating a friend’s 40th and called two weeks in advance to make reservations. The hostess greeted us by saying happy birthday to the birthday girl which was a nice touch that they remembered! We were sat promptly and drink orders were taken. The staff even found a way to make the birthday girl a Cherry Cola! Our waitress was kind, flexible, patient, and matched our loud crews energy! Thank you 😍 She even took the time to take our photos out front. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food but I think the Mac and cheese was the hit of the table. The birthday girl received a slice of cheese cake with a candle and a song. We were the last table in the building but didn’t feel rushed by the staff. Compared to other locations we ate at during the weekend we felt this was fairly priced for the service we received. Thanks to the hostess and our amazing server!

We were originally going to go to another restaurant but that was closed. we had heard good things about the Country Club and they had availability so we decided to check it out. the ambiance and the service was outstanding. we started with the crab beignets and the curry and crab bisque. the crab beignets were really good but the aioli was average. the bisque was very good and tasted like an asian green curry sauce. we then got the brussels sprouts, the kale salad, the hamburger, the shrimp, and the curry salmon. the shrimp was really good as were the french fries that came with the burger. the salmon was decent but needed a sauce and was better when we added the soup as a gravy. the brussels sprout and kale salad were also good. portion size was good and price point was also good. overall good food in a nice ambiance with great service

The food was just okay! The staff was fine but not overly friendly like we had come accustomed too in New Orleans. We loved the Mac & Cheese and Crab Beignets. The Short Rib was a little fatty. The red fish was good but it didn’t knock my socks off. The drinks were good! Overall, I would recommend this spot for drinks and opt for something less “instagram worthy” for dinner. There is certainly better food in New Orleans.

What can I say…my first drag brunch at The Country Club, powered by Hampton Water Rosé, was a glittery fever dream in the best way. Apolline is a charming restaurant located on Magazine Street, offering modern Louisiana dishes made with local ingredients. The cozy-chic ambiance and bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys for brunch make it a popular spot. The restaurant operates in the tradition of an Uptown gourmet bistro, housed in a fine old Creole cottage with original fireplaces and antique decor.
Very French chic and romantic atmosphere, perfect for a date night. I highly recommend the "Cream of celery root with smoked blue crab" Special along with the Smoked Crab Gnocchi. Sooo good! 😋Also try out their cocktails, you won't be disappointed. I had the "Kiss me through the Foam" cocktail and it looked so pretty and tasted perfectly balanced.

We visited this restaurant for a delightful dinner and to reconnect with a college friend. The food was exceptional, bursting with flavor, though the portions were slightly modest—still, it didn’t detract from the experience. The service was truly outstanding, thanks to our waiter, Sam. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring our water glasses and drinks were always refilled promptly, which added to the seamless dining experience. The ambiance was calm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a first date or a meaningful conversation over dinner. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent food, impeccable service, and pleasant atmosphere.

Apolline is a charming little boutique restaurant tucked away on Magazine Street. The food? Excellent. Creative, flavorful, and well-prepared. If your priority is a solid meal and you’re not too concerned with the service, this place might work for you. We called ahead to confirm vegetarian options and made a reservation noting we were celebrating three special occasions. While we were acknowledged when we walked in, that’s where the warmth ended. Our server never mentioned our celebrations and made no real effort to connect or engage with us. The service was blunt and impersonal. One dish had to be returned after just two bites, and we were told we’d have to pay full price for a replacement and we were charged full price for the returned item. The vegetarian option was also charged at the same price as a full omelet—no accommodation or flexibility, just a flat approach. There’s also a 4% kitchen fee tacked onto your bill to "support the kitchen staff." Honestly, I’d rather the meal prices be slightly higher and know the staff is being compensated fairly, instead of feeling like the owners are passing that responsibility onto the diners. Bottom line: If you care more about what’s on the plate than the experience surrounding it—and you’re not price sensitive—give Apolline a try. But if service, attentiveness, or value matter to you, this may not be the best fit.

A friend and I made a last minute decision to have dinner here on a Saturday night. I lucked up on a park directly across the street and my friend found one a block away, so that was a great start! The restaurant is super cute on the outside and definitely had a Nola feel to it. I didn’t want a cocktail so requested a lemonade. My goodness…it was the most delicious lemonade ever! We received complimentary rolls and garlic butter. Eh, the rolls were just eh and the butter too garlicky. We split the appetizer special which was a baked Brie with crab and a bunch of other stuff. It sounded amazing when the server explained it, but it didn’t taste like it sounded. It was also priced too high for the size of the dish. The menu was limited and I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was surprisingly good and uniquely done. Again, I thought that the serving was too small. Although the ambience and service was nice overall, nothing made me want to say that I would return.

Was super excited to visit Apolline for restaurant week and would have loved to give this place 4/5 ⭐️s but ultimately had to settle on 3. We had reservations for 7:00PM and were seated right away. We ordered drinks and shortly after that we put in our apps, entrees and dessert. We weren’t too impressed with the cocktails we got, but it was saved by the complimentary bread. The garlic butter was delicious! However I wish the bread wasn’t so toasted, it would have been better a little softer in my opinion. At 7:52PM we finally got our appetizers. Once those were finished we were told our entrees would be out soon. We didn’t receive our entrees until 9:00PM. Dessert came out immediately after finishing dinner, but altogether it took us 2.5hrs to complete our meal. While ALL the food was extremely delicious, we were disappointed in the service. Our waitress was nice and offered free wine between appetizers and the entree as well as bringing some additional bread. She kept thanking us for being so chill, but at this point we had started to feel taken advantage of a bit as other tables who arrived later than us began receiving their entrees before us. The manager was walking around delivering plates to tables but never once stopped by our table to chat. Had there been more transparency about the situation or even more acknowledgment, especially by the manager I would have been happy to give 4 stars. It wasn’t until we were walking out the door that the manager told us to have a good night and apologized for the wait. They did comp the drinks for us, but honestly we felt it was the least they could do. It’s really a bummer to have to give 3 stars because we really did enjoy the food, but that amount of waiting really makes a difference in an experience.

What an outstanding dinner! Everything from the atmosphere to the service. The seafood was delectable, the salad was amazing, and the lamb was out of this world. Don’t forget to ask about some wine! The bottle we received was not only affordable but delicious. Make sure to ask for Haley, her service was amazing! Can’t wait to come back again!

Super fun breakfast spot all day!! Super friendly and a great vibe for old time diner. Conveniently located off the street car line with cool art around it

After a long morning of walking and exploring the downtown area, I got an appetite for some food. I ended up looking up this place and noticed it sale breakfast and lunch. I opt in to try some breakfast and it wasnt the best but it held me until dinner time. The shrimp grits were seasoned to perfection, the cakes were on the tough side but I guess the syrup helped with that.

I was REALLY hoping for a true chicken fried steak. I'm from Texas and haven't had one since I left 10 years ago lol. This one was just okay. I'm not sure what happened with the gravy. It was very thin and had chunks of what I think was corn starch. The Mac n cheese tastes like Kraft. I'm still going to come back and try other things though!

We took the Streetcar up Canal to Dorgenois Street, just to go to Betsy’s for breakfast. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is like an old-school dinner, nothing fancy just fun and homey. The breakfast is basic, eggs, bacon, grits with toast or pancakes. The portions are very large and the cost is super reasonable. A great experience and we will be back.

Food is fresh and delicious, staff are very friendly and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable. I ordered the silver dollar pancakes for my 3 year old grand baby and they were the size of regular pancakes and the regular pancakes are the size of a full dinner plate. However, service is a bit slow and the dining room could use a remodel but it has local flare. Overall it was a great experience and I will return when I am visiting NOLA again.

This place is a historic hidden gem. I ordered pigs in the blanket. Food was great and came out fast. Price was reasonable for location and quality/ quantity. I will be back.

Waitress was friendly but food was very mediocre. Eggs undercooked and hash browns were old and stale. Older waitress was very rude and unfriendly. And the signs all over for extra charges for everything with the scolding sign on the table for raising prices is very off putting. Sadly I believe thier best days are behind them

In town for my birthday weekend and the hotel staff recommend Betsy's. Was dissatisfied and disappointed in whole experience. Food was done as basic and unseasoned as possible. The omelet was basically a scrambled egg with stuff in it. My granddaughters could have done a better job and they don't cook. Waitress was rude and unassuming. Took the wrong order and tried to get my wife and I to switch plates. Unbelievable. Parking was unusual due to no parking lot. Just find a spot that looks available. On the street. They seem to be old fashioned and had alot of customers. However they appeared to be enjoying their experience. Maybe because they were locals and used to that sort of eating and dining.

Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe is a charming daytime eatery that captures the essence of a cozy neighborhood spot, perfect for breakfast lovers. Located in the heart of Uptown near Tulane University, this delightful cafe serves up an array of classic American breakfast dishes until 2 p.m. From fluffy pancakes and Belgian waffles to hearty three-egg omelets and various Eggs Benedict options, there's something to satisfy every palate.
The potatoes!! Top. Tier. 🥔✨ I went with the “two two three” plate, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Two strips of crispy bacon, fluffy scrambled eggs, and three cute little pancakes that packed a punch. We also tried the Irish iced coffee and whew… so good. ☕🍀 Our waitress with the braids was super attentive and so sweet, which made the whole experience even better. 💕 Next time I’m trying those massive blueberry pancakes, they were huge! 🫐🥞

Cute, charming atmosphere with the walls highly decorated with artwork from local artists. The food and service were definitely subpar/nonexistent. I ordered plain, regular drip coffee, it didn’t come until the meal was finished. The food itself was nothing to write home about, just typical American dishes. Although, the biscuits definitely looked homemade and very fluffy and the French toast looked amazing, that’s a reason I’d go back.

These places in the middle of neighborhoods are true gems. Parking is in the hood, so plan accordingly...walk, taxi, Uber, just don't expect valet service. Staff is super friendly in this big 'ol space that looks like a really old grocery store, honestly I don't know the history but you can feel it with an inviting atmosphere and art on the walls for sale! Breakfast was wonderfully standard cafe fare and my breakfast sandwich and pancakes were very good and satisfying, the potatoes might've been a bit too oily but I still ate them all. My breakfast was perfect for a busy New Orleans day ahead. Morning beverage options at the cafe were as expected and more than adequate. I would definitely happily return for other menus items and more boozy drinks!

This place is at the end of the green trolley road and you walk through some neighborhood streets but it is worth going to. They had some different types of drinks and food for brunch which were interesting. I had the crab cake benedict which was amazing and an irish iced coffee which was absolutely delicious! My friend had the Eggs Sardou and of course a mimosa! Haha! Service was good at first but then slowed down a bit. This has happened in New Orleans at a couple of places so I don’t know what that’s about...Anyway, great irish coffee and good food! Cute little neighborly restaurant.

Founded by the esteemed Dr. Andrew Weil, this restaurant embodies the philosophy that good food fosters a good mood. The menu is a treasure trove for plant-based diners, featuring standout dishes like the Korean noodle bowl and butternut squash pizza, ensuring every vegan choice is satisfying.
The food was bursting with flavor! You could definitely taste the ginger or hibiscus in the refreshers. The waitress told us they’ve that the manu was recently change . We had the hummus, guacamole, and salad - all absolutely delicious and healthy. I hope they keep expanding!

Great restaurant choice for ppl with restrictive diets and/or health conscious! So many choices and lots of vegan options. Wide open atmosphere with lots of natural lighting, decorated very nicely with greenery and floral accents. Service wasn’t the best, but I think our waitress was overwhelmed, seemed like she had a lot of tables. Lots of seating available and can accommodate large groups. The ancient grain bowl was a definite hit, would definitely recommend that. The edamame dumplings were okay. Glad to have restaurants like this in the city.

9.6.25 came here for the first (and last time) The food was very, very Salty which made it unenjoyable and INEDIBLE. We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer. My bf had the turkey burger, and I had the air fried chicken sandwich. The air fried chicken was breaded...and salty. 😔😭 All of these items were just too salty to handle. The building is beautiful and clean, but that's about the only thing that I can rave about. They do offer unique drinks. Skip this place unless you really love salt and sub-par expensive food.

I’m so tired of restaurants giving terrible quality Togo food. I placed an order tonight for 2 burgers; one vegan and the other was the American burger w/o cheese. My food was cold and looked disgusting. I opened the burger to see that cheese was placed on the burger but scraped off. And it was cold! I did not get 3rd party delivery. I called and they were pleasant on the phone and apologized, and offered to give an adjustment bc of their mess up. Instead of them refunding me for the meal (Burger and lettuce (listed as a small “salad”) (~$20)) or even just the burger portion; the adjustment was for $9 and some change stating I wasn’t satisfied w/ the burger. Of course I’m not, I COULD NOT EAT IT!!! I was able to scrape some of the cheese that was still on there off with my finger. So disgusting and disappointing!

The True Food Kitchen in New Orleans is very similar to the one in Dallas but the service and Food quality was not good at all. Both excellent choices, but something was off when I ordered takeout here. It was supposed to be ready at 6pm, but when I arrived they were running behind and I needed to wait. I had to wait 30 minutes, so at 6:30 it was finally ready. The salmon I ordered was overcooked and hard enough to pick up to eat. We were disappointed this time and hope it was a one off and not an every day example of the one in New Orleans.

I am the first person to admit I don’t eat vegetables. I came to try a seasonal pizza I saw in the reviews but it was no longer available. I ended up ordering the ancient grain bowl + steak. Tbh I was thinking about what I would eat later bc I knew I wasn’t going to like my meal. To my surprise I loved it. All the ingredients brought their own layer of texture/ flavor to the dish and they all complimented each other so well! The sweet potatoes added a nice sweet flavor, the char grilled onions and peas added a nice crunchy texture to the dish. The pistachio pesto was semi acidic and packed with enough flavor to season the whole dish perfectly. I did add steak to my bowl (which was not needed) and it was over cooked and tough. Will definitely eat here again.

Almost threw up my burger was so undercooked (ordered medium) fries were cold and weirdly textured. Cheese on burger was unmelted shredded cheese. Multiple wrong orders delivered to table. Waitress was inattentive. Espresso was burnt. Nice atmosphere, very artsy, so many plants that it smells like dirt inside.

Hello. My name is Derrick and I went to True Food Kitchen today was amazing! My burger not well done like I asked, and it was no big, but my sister told the server and next thing I know the manager came out and literally took it off the bill. He told me he believes in making sure his customers are highly satisfied. I couldn’t believe it!! Everyone was so kind and they aimed to please. If I lived in New Orleans, I would be a consistent lifetime customer! It’s also very beautiful and really clean there. They get five stars all across the board for me!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nestled in the heart of New Orleans, Buttermilk Drop Bakery is a delightful gem that captures the essence of local flavors. This charming spot specializes in mouthwatering buttermilk drops, a unique creation that combines the best qualities of donuts and biscuits into a buttery, flaky treat. Originating from McKenzies Bakery, these sweet delights are an absolute must-try for anyone visiting NOLA.
So every year when I visit Nola, I have to go to buttermilk drop bakery. Not only are the pastries at the bakery fresh and delicious but the shrimp and grits are delicious. They give you great portions, it is well seasoned and it will keep you coming back.

I watched a lot of YouTubers talk about this spot and they were right . This place is 🔥🔥. If you indulge in sweets and pastries this your place . Sugar heaven . lol . Not only are the drops and donuts affordable there portions are big. They also have glazed beignets , they didn’t survive once I got them 😂. Forget cafe du monde no disrespect , these are the truth . They do serve breakfast but I didn’t get the breakfast but just imagine having a home cook meal and a bakery at the same location . The people working there were polite and wonderful . Go support them trust me they are worth it . So price wise I got 12 different things from drops , a donut , a cinnamon roll and beignets for 15 dollars total . Their menu is extensive and varies but you won’t spend as much as you think . Keep that in mind .
GREGNYCE — Google review
My first time trying this business. I got there bright and early and went to the Chicken & Waffle side. The food looked fresh and amazing. Ordered Shrimp and Grits, which came with eggs, hashbrowns and a biscuit. Also got the breakfast rice, 6 piece wings and one dozen original buttermilk drops. While leaving the store- I noticed the bakery side - went in there and the selection of donuts was awesome. They even sell day old donuts at a special price. Pros: Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They were opened as advertised. Variety of menu items Breakfast rice and homemade biscuit were delicious. The amount of food for the price is nice. Cons: None of the remaining menu items were seasoned -didn’t even have salt or pepper. The shrimp were sauteed but also had no flavor. The buttermilk drops are not the nostalgic flavor I was expecting. Summary: I expected better tasting food from an establishment in the Creole 7th ward. I understand that customer’s salt and pepper tastes are different; but totally bland food, in NOLA, should never happen.

Customer service alone TOP TIER! From walking in the door feeling like family to the patience and smiles. We ordered the seafood grits with hash and eggs, stuff cream cheese beignets, and a side of smoked sausage for $31 (with tip). They ran out of the sweet potato stuffed beignet but sis behind the counter said "I gotcha' I love this!

I ordered my food at 7am thru uber eats. I’m thinking because it early I should get fresh food I GUESS NOT I’m so livid the whole order is a waste of money. The donuts are cold and poorly made at this point I should have asked for coffee donuts instead of glaze because that what I got. My sandwich is very COLD, HARD AND VERY OLD not to mention y'all don’t read I asked for strawberry y'all gave me grape. Customer service sucks and ya’ll don’t know how to take care of paying customers. Mark my words this is the last time I waste my money with this company and I will be sure to let my peers know as well how negligent, you guys are with people’s money and food. Pictures included with this review. AT LEAST MY DOG HAS A GOOD BREAKFAST COMING. SO DISAPPOINTED….

Great to explore more Honduran food has to offer here at Alma. Every dish was unique. Loved the generous portions for our hungry bellies! The Agua Chile and Duck Confit had a nice kick to it, for those who can handle spice. Really enjoyed the coconut margarita cocktail too

Great service.Went did have a reservation, which is a good idea since they were busy. Went to the mid city location. Nice outdoor seating. Chilaquiles were tasty, but contained too many tortilla chips. Papusa was delicious, and the breakfast tacos were yummy. The pork and chorizo are highly recommended.

I’ve been to this restaurant for brunch so many times I can no longer count! Whenever friends and family come into town this has always been my go to spot and they’ve all loved it! The blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes and adult French toast are my favorite- but I’ve tried everything on the menu and you can’t go wrong with any other their brunch options. The cafe has an airy, bright ambience that’s perfect for pictures. Also the service has always been consistently amazing and I’ve had a different waiter every visit!

Was super excited to check out this place given its recent publicity. Unfortunately the service did not match the food, which is complicated by an insane amount of staff. On a Saturday morning there were more staff than diners and yet, they were already out of some menu items. Then the shocker, $3.50 for a 1.75oz side of salsa! The bigger disappointment was at the end when I noticed some brown avocado was hidden face-down in the meal. Was excited to satiate this food nostalgia, but drive away disappointed.

Alma Cafe is a Honduran culinary gem nestled in New Orleans, blending exceptional cuisine with a nostalgic atmosphere that feels both timeless and modern. The food here is a tribute to Honduran heritage, yet it seamlessly intertwines with the Cajun-Creole essence of New Orleans. The plantain dish is absolutely to die for—astonishingly delicious, taking me right back to Veracruz, a Mexican port town that shares the same culinary DNA as both New Orleans and Honduras. This place is a must-visit, and I’ll definitely be back, hungry for more.

I had a wonderful first experience. I am an out-of-towner and my local friends had begun teasing me for how often I insisted on visiting Alma’s. Food can be delicious. Unfortunately, every subsequent visit has been less enjoyable. Service is slow. Food is inconsistent. The last time I visited, I ordered the exact same dish as my vegetarian guest — Alma’s breakfast without pork protein. My order came out with no cheese. I asked for it and I was brought only the crema cheese on a plate to add to my beans separately. See included photo of both dishes when they were originally served for comparison. They should have been the same. My specialty coffee was lukewarm/borderline cold. The server offered to reheat the coffee and it still came back lukewarm. I brushed it off and decided to return a few more times. As of today, there is no vegetarian option listed for the Alma’s breakfast and the refried beans contain pork byproduct. To be fair, this is posted on the bottom of the menu and our server kindly reminded us of this. My guest is vegetarian and reluctantly ordered another dish due to the fact that you had to either 1) opt for the full vegan option or 2) order an extra side of black beans. Both options are an upcharge. No substitutions allowed. Today, I ordered my eggs over hard and emphasized extra hard - no runny yolks. My eggs came back runny. Waited at least 20 minutes for our server and finally flagged them down to ask for a side of scrambled eggs instead. Took awhile longer for my egg to arrive and management made an executive decision to still serve me an “over-hard egg” despite having asked for scrambled because, “our scrambled eggs are soft scrambled.” The “corrected” over-hard egg is pictured. It was a little better…. But still not quite what I was hoping for. Management visited twice to ask for feedback. Appreciated the gesture but ultimately fell short. When I commented on the lack of consistency with the preparation of dishes their response was “I was not manager when you last visited so I cannot speak to that” Overall didn’t seem like our concerns or suggestions were truly heard. Previous poor reviews seem accurate. Owner’s online responses to lower ratings are questionable in professionalism which made me reconsider whether to leave feedback at all. Will likely return at a later date and reassess. Alma’s definitely has potential to be delicious and awesome!

The smothered liver with onions and grits is a must-try, while the omelets and fried grits cakes with creamy shrimp sauce are also standout options.
I am so glad my sister found this cafe and that we decided to come have brunch. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and quality food. Shrimp and grits were cooked perfectly and my French toast was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. The fruit was so fresh too. All the coffee drinks we ordered were sooo good and made picture perfect. Cannot say enough about how genuine the atmosphere and service was as well. Everyone was so nice, accommodating, and we had great conversation with some of the staff! I would 100% come back and I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting NOLA. Cafe Du Monde is a must-visit destination in New Orleans, renowned for its delicious café au laits and iconic beignets since 1862. This charming café draws both locals and tourists alike, who flock to savor the melt-in-your-mouth pastries dusted with powdered sugar. While some may opt for the glitz of nearby casinos, many prefer the laid-back atmosphere of Cafe Du Monde, where they can enjoy their treats amidst the vibrant energy of the city.
Cafe Du Monde: Where Touristy Transcends into Timeless Yes, yes, I know. Nothing screams “I Googled ‘must-eat in New Orleans’” louder than Cafe Du Monde. It’s the Eiffel Tower of fried dough. The Statue of Liberty of chicory. The Times Square of powdered sugar. But hear me out: sometimes the cliché is a classic for a reason. We came for the beignets and chicory coffee, and left with powdered sugar in our hair, hearts full, and a renewed belief in the magic of the obvious. The beignets? Pillowy, golden, and unapologetically dusted like they were trying to erase all memory of low-carb living. Each bite was a soft jazz solo, sweet, warm, and just a little bit cheeky. The chicory latte? Earthy, bold, and comforting, like a hug from a caffeinated swamp witch who’s seen things and wants you to know it’ll all be okay. And despite the reputation for lines longer than a CVS receipt, we walked right in. No wait. No chaos. Just a table, a tray, and the kind of service that says, “We’ve done this a million times, and we still care.” Our server was swift, kind, and knew exactly how to wield a tray of beignets like a seasoned pastry ninja. Outside, the sky opened up in a theatrical downpour, because of course it did. Our last hours in New Orleans deserved a dramatic curtain call. And right on cue, a saxophone player appeared under the awning, playing something smooth and wistful, like the soundtrack to a sepia-toned montage of love and powdered sugar. My wife and I sat there, sipping, smiling, and silently agreeing that this was the kind of moment you don’t try to improve. You just live it. Was it touristy? Absolutely. But it was also excellent. And if excellence happens to come with a side of mass appeal and a gift shop, so be it. I’ll take it. We’ll be back. Not just for the beignets, but for the reminder that sometimes the most obvious choice is also the most delicious. And next time, I might even wear white, just to see how much powdered sugar I can get away with.
Maciek M — Google review
We visited Café Du Monde at the iconic Jackson Square location, having read all the positive reviews about their beignets. Location & Food (3/5 Stars): The location is unbeatable—right next to Jackson Square. The beignets were, as advertised, very good and a must-try New Orleans dessert. The coffee was fine, standard New Orleans coffee. Service (0/5 Stars): This is where the experience falls apart. Our server approached and immediately asked, "Do you guys want beignets? How many?" and then rudely walked away mid-sentence before we could finish deciding. The attitude was appalling. Even after we did place our order (two of the same item), she was so inattentive that she misunderstood a simple request and brought us two different versions. While not a major issue, it was yet another clear indication of her lack of focus. We waited 5-10 minutes for her return. I observed similar rude, dismissive behavior from servers at other tables. To top it off, after dropping off the order, our server waited right next to our table explicitly for a tip despite the terrible service. Practical & Legal Concerns: 1- CASH ONLY: Be prepared. This is a cash-only place. 2-No Receipts: A major concern is that they do not issue receipts, even when requested. This, combined with the servers constantly walking around counting wads of cash, suggests they may not be properly reporting their earnings and could be operating illegally. This is highly unprofessional and tacky. Conclusion: While the beignets are a New Orleans staple, I would never suggest a friend go here. The combination of rude service and shady business practices outweighs the historic location and decent food. There are plenty of other fantastic local spots to get beignets and coffee with an infinitely better experience.

Definitely the iconic spot it is heralded for. Beignets were amazing. The frozen café au lait is a perfect pairing. The jazz music outside really sets a vibe for the puffs of powdered sugar as you bite into your Beignets. Its the standard and sets the bar. Start here and then try the others. Seat yourself and someone will come to you. Sometimes that takes longer than you want. Cash only but open 24hrs!!!
Ray P — Google review
What can you say about Café Du Monde? It’s iconic for a reason. The beignets are absolutely incredible — hot, fresh, perfectly crisp on the outside with a light, airy chew on the inside, and piled high with powdered sugar. I went on a busy Sunday morning and was lucky to get a seat right away, and the service was surprisingly quick given how chaotic it can get. The restaurant is very casual and crowded, with cramped tables and chairs, and the waitstaff are constantly on the move. The restrooms are limited and not the nicest, but it’s a casual spot, and the prices reflect that. I was so impressed that I went back the next day — these beignets are truly worth a visit to New Orleans on their own. I’ve been dreaming about them for years, and they exceeded every expectation. Absolutely phenomenal. 100% recommend to anyone visiting the city.
Chloe — Google review
Heads up : it’s cash only, no cards accepted! That said, this place is a true New Orleans classic. Super retro vibe, often with live musicians playing nearby, which makes the whole experience even better. And the beignets? Wowwww! absolutely delicious! Of course we recommend it!
Sabrina S — Google review
We had to visit cafe de monde, it is an institution. Super busy any time of day. Beignets are related to donuts, but not as flavorful. They are covered with heap of powered sugar, so they very messy. I saw very few people that were not covered with white powder. To stay relatively clean you have to shake off the powder first, you still get a lot of sweetness as some of it heats up and melts onto the dough. The bathroom experience was memorable. There is a long line, and there is a bathroom director who tells the next person to enter one of two bathrooms (both are either/or ) bathroom. They are the size of the air plane bathroom, dirty, with wet floor. There are no paper towels, but one can use toilet paper to dry the hands. It is an experience I will remember. P.s. cash only. A plate with thee and 2 coffees were 15 dollars.

Cafe Du Monde is the quintessential touristy place of New Orleans. If you don't visit, did you even go to The Big Easy? Beignets and coffee are the name of the game here. The beignets are coated with enough powdered sugar to tempt the Narcotics Unit to throw you behind bars. Will you find better tasting beignets in the area? For sure. But will you eat them in a place as historical and nostalgic as the city itself? Heck no! The main thing to know is this place is cash only. Also, you can purchase one of the server hats and get the cheapest souvenir in the French Market. I've eaten here early morning and late at night, and it's truly a toss-up on which vibes I liked better. In the end, you can't go wrong.
Dalton A — Google review
I've long heard that you have to get there SUPER early to get in line to get beignets. We went here twice and did not have to wait either time to sit down. I figured it was time of year or time of day (once was around dinner time in the evening and the other was around mid-day). Service was quick and the beignets were delicious as was the cafe au lait. Both times we visited, there was live music just outside of the patio. We didn't stick around too long after we were done, so can't speak to anything else. Would I go back here? Sure!

Restaurant
Twisted Waffles LLC is a breakfast spot that takes traditional favorites to the next level. Their menu features classic chicken and waffles, waffle bowls, and specialty options like Caramel Apple, Maple Cream Bacon, and Lemon Drop. They also offer kid-friendly choices such as the Cookie Monster or Loops of Fruit. The restaurant is accommodating to gluten-free diets with options like candied-bacon maple cream waffles.
Great food, amazing service! Stopped in for breakfast and was blown away with the waffle combinations/options, definitely bring your appetite and imagination. The waffles were perfectly cooked, and the flavors are delicious! The drinks are really good too, and the service is above and beyond! I came with a group and our server was very patient and extremely helpful and was able to accommodate various requests!

Our family stayed at Holiday Inn French Quarter-Chateau Lemoyne and were given a $15 voucher to Twisted Waffle. We went in knowing it was an overpriced tourist place, but it's connected to the hotel and convenient. We initially tried to eat there the night we checked in, but they closed earlier than the hours posted on google. We ended up eating breakfast there the next morning. While the atmosphere is nice and the food was tasty, we were displeased with the service. There were only 4 seated tables, so they were not overly busy and it took an incredibly long time to get our food. We literally saw our server 3 times. She took our order, delivered our food, and brought an electronic device for us to check out on. Someone else brought our drinks and my daughter never even received the cranberry juice she ordered. We were not given an itemized bill and the device to pay was left at our table already pulled up to card payment, however the price did not seem correct and I thought maybe the server had forgotten to apply our voucher. I was shocked to see a $15 "fee" added. I flagged a server and questioned the "fee" and I was told it was taxes and tip. I pointed out that taxes were itemized on another line. She then said it's the gratuity because people weren't tipping them. So gratuity is included, fine. I proceed back to pay and the electronic device prompted me to tip again. So these folks aren't telling you they're adding gratuity then requesting it after it's already added. They're double dipping. I did not leave extra since they were already charging (I think it was 20%). Good tips come from good service. My husband and I have both worked in food service and we tip well, however we absolutely will not tip more than 20 percent for subpar service. If they aren't getting tips it's because the service like we received is poor. Due to dishonest practices like this, I would not recommend Twisted Waffle. The food was good, but it's wasn’t worth what we ended up paying (almost $70 for two adults and a child).

I went for breakfast on a Sunday and it was fairly busy. I didn't wait to be seated but the people who were coming in after did. I tried a strawberry waffle with chicken and I did enjoy it. My favorite was the beignets. I would say what I had was worth the price.

While visiting New Orleans, we were recommended to try Twisted Waffle by a friend and we had a great experience! Everything was so good! I only had the breakfast sampler since we were about to travel (which was very tasty btw) and didn’t want anything too heavy but the variety of options others in our party had looked delicious and was told to come again and try other menu items. The waiter was so nice and attentive and management was present and made sure we had everything we needed! We will definitely return the next time we visit the city!

This place is so good, probably my 5th time coming here. It's on my list every time I fly into NewOrleans. They have a $25 mimosas flight, how could you not?! And the food is amazing as always. They are now located in the French Quarters which is so convenient. Devin and Malani served me and they are so kind and welcoming - great job!

Best Chicken and waffles I have ever had. The drinks were strong and the servers were super friendly. We ordered peach chicken and waffles and velvety waffle both came out quickly and were delicious.
Kelly S — Google review
My family and I arrived and there was only one other party seated. The waitress let us know to use our phones to look at the menu and checked in on us. My daughter ordered the chicken & cookie monster waffle, my mom ordered a chicken and wafflewich, and I ordered the bowl with crab & shrimp (can't remember the name) and a sweet potato waffle. I asked for a watermelon tea only to be told they didn't make it. I showed the waitress the item on the menu. The bartender ended up making it for ne. Everything was delicious. I tasted my daughter's waffle and it tasted plain. She enjoyed it though and ended up eating a lot of the sweet potato waffle. The bowl was really good. I thought it needed sauce which was only listed for the Nola bowl. The waitress brought me some which made it taste much better. I also needed to split the bill and the waitress had no problem doing it. The service was a little dry considering we were the only people there most of the time but we still enjoyed our meal. I wish we had something similar where we live.
N. K — Google review
Actually the best waffle I've ever had. My partner and I shared a strawberry shortcake waffle, I was expecting it to be obnoxiously sweet or something but it was PERFECT. The texture, the taste, the temperature, the toppings, all the Ts. So freaking yummers I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a breakfast spot!!! Worth the tourist money!!!! Update - Came back the next day because it was so good. Restrooms were very clean and nice. Lemonade was tasty and I think handmade?? Amazing!! Brilliant!! Banana nut chicken and waffles was delicious, the chicken was a great texture (not rubbery or anything like I feared it would be). The strawberry shortcake waffle was just as good as it was the first time.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of New Orleans, The Daily Beet is a delightful haven for health enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This charming eatery emphasizes simplicity and nourishment, proving that meals can be both wholesome and satisfying without being overly extravagant. Their Avocado Toast is a standout dish—crafted with creamy mashed avocado, pickled red onion, and fresh veggies atop a rustic country loaf—showcasing how balance in flavors can create an unforgettable experience.
We went to The Daily Beet for a quick breakfast and tried their açaí bowl. It was delicious! It's a super cute spot with a couple of tables outside as well. The staff were very kind and helpful. I'm excited to go back for lunch some time and try their bowls!

Healthy and delicious breakfast options! I visited the Daily Beet after attending a workout session at F45 which is right next to this location. The place has a chill ambience and offers a wide variety of breakfast items and smoothies. My wife and I decided for a Breakfast burrito and an Avocado Toast. Both were amazing. You can tell the ingredients were fresh. The burrito comes with egg, avocado, black beans and cheese all wrapped in a spinach tortilla. The side mild salsa is delicious. I had to ask for an extra. For the avocado toast, it was simple, but again, super fresh. We asked for a side of smoked salmon to top it off. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because I also wanted a coffee but they did not have an espresso machine.

Fresh, healthy, delicious! As a vegetarian, it can be challenging to find a beautifully prepared meal that meets my plant-based goals. The Daily Beet is 100% green and clean! Salads, bowls, and freshly made juices will keep you feeling great!

This was my first visit, as I tour my city, trying new spots to eat. Ahjanae and KJ greeted me with smiles, answered all my questions, and made great recommendations to me as a first-timer. The breakfast burrito and green smoothie was DELICIOUS!!! The salad was so light and fresh. The burrito was tasty, filling, and I was only able to eat half because it's a nice size. I'll be back, and highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about The Daily Beet. The food quality and customer service are exceptional, and the atmosphere is relaxing. And I really like their commitment to healthy eating and their Eat Fit NOLA partnership further exemplifies this. Personally, my favorite menu item is the Mexicali Blues Salad. Just an awesome big bed of crisp greens with fresh tomatoes, avocado, black beans, corn, tortilla chips, etc. Just a fabulous place overall that has all the bells and whistles.

Google searched “Healthy food Magazine Street” and this place popped up. And boy, it didn’t disappoint! We were looking for a quick bite to eat on a day-trip to Nola and were happy to find this place! The food was fresh, healthy, and so so flavorful. Now if only they could open a location a little closer to home in Baton Rouge. #FutureExpansion

Reasonable prices, delicious food, and a fabulous not-too-sweet matcha latte. My mom and I picked up food after a busy day, and everything tasted great even after being microwaved. So glad we found this place!
