Creative sushi and grilled entrees pair with cocktails and spirits in a stylish, industrial setting. Pan American Life Center, 601 Poydras St., Suite B, (504) 608-3474; www.servingsushi.com/new_orleans.
Pros: +Excellent quality +Budget friendly options, even the simplist rolls I ordered were delicious +Knowledgeable and accomodating staff Cons: -Parking may require forward planning if going at a busy time -Can be a little busy at night, but worth the wait I tried the: +Dumplings but trouble appetizer +Niguri special(5 pieces) +Snow crab roll- My favorite!! Simple but supurb +Tiger roll +Dynamite roll +Green Monster roll- strange but good! Definitely try if you are feeling adventurous. I was impressed by the freshness and flavor of everything. This place is so delishous that I've been 3 times during my week long stay.

Walked here from our hotel for dinner and the food was delicious. We ordered a couple of rolls, one was on the specials menu, the Black and Gold roll and I can’t remember the name of the rest but they were all very tasty. A nice upscale sushi restaurant with friendly staff. My only complaint is that we saw a large roach or possibly a cricket crawling on the floor as we were paying the bill. Luckily, we were done eating. To their defense, there is a lot of shrubbery and bushes nearby the door so I don’t think it’s a cleanliness issue. However it was unsettling. Still recommend giving it a try.

We needed a break from French Quarter food on our vacation and walked to Tsunami Sushi. Happy Hour 3-6pm, Monday after Mother’s Day. Plenty tables open and my friend and I sat at the bar. Food was exactly what we needed and at Happy Hour price, it was even better. Fish was fresh and the truffle salmon was something I’ve never heard of, but would order again! They also seared our nigiri upon request, med rare. I wish there was $1.50 nigiri where I lived! Ruby was an excellent bartender/server and really made our experience too-notch and elevated. Can’t wait to come back!

I had a wonderful experience here! My waitress was friendly, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations. The happy hour was fantastic, and every dish I tried was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing. Perfect for enjoying sushi with friends or on your own.

Interesting sushi with Louisiana twist. Flavor was great. The sizing of sushi can be better. The drink was probably watered down.

Had a fantastic post Saints game day dinner after a CLOSE game against the 49ers.. Thanks for an amazing dinner even though we didn't win. Tsunami Sushi for the the win! Much love, Maestro Giaccone

Nice space, friendly attentive service, fabulous cocktails and even more fabulous food! Beautiful presentation and outstanding freshness…. I can’t remember the name of the roll I had but it was superb, and the Sunflower was just off the charts yummy… I can’t WAIT to go back!

I typically don’t leave bad reviews, but we received extremely slow service on some very basic sushi orders when the restaurant was near empty on a monday night. Then, we saw a mouse running across the floor with no reaction from staff. At some places I can understand that mice are a reality, but when I pay $100 for a meal, I don’t expect to wonder if a mouse has defecated on something being served to me. No chance that I would return here unless I’m sure that this has been fixed. Truly upsetting because their calamari was actually pretty good.

Origami Restaurant, located in a renovated house on Freret Street, brings a unique blend of Japanese tradition and New Orleans flavors to its casual dining setting. The menu features an extensive selection of sushi and Japanese dishes, including signature rolls like the PO-boy roll and the NOLA City roll. In addition to traditional nigiri and fresh seafood options, Origami also offers innovative dishes for those with diverse tastes.
This is my go-to spot for sushi in the city. While there are several more premium options for sushi, they come with premium price tags. None of them hold a candle to Origami in terms of value. The menu here is extensive, so it will be easy to find something for everyone in your party. The rolls are pretty standard, but all are good. Their nigiri in particular stands out for being excellent yet being almost half the price of some of the other more hyped sushi locations in the city. Their cocktails are great as well.
Reed G — Google review
We stopped at Origami for an early dinner. Their rolls were fresh and tasty! Miso soup was kind of okay. The outdoor area looks very nice but we sat inside because it was a hot day. It would probably be fun to sit at the bar and watch the sushi chefs work. Their staff is kind and helpful. I thought the service was quite fast too which was great because we were starving!

Had a great time here, ordered the chirashi and it was so delicious and a large portion, a total steal. Sat and the bar and had a great conversation with Matt, he’s the best! Will definitely be back!

This restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way - I highly recommend giving it a try and experiencing it for yourself.

I had the chirashi lunch, and it was fabulous. Really generous amount of sashimi and rice. Loved the iced green tea, and was glad to get a refill.

Food is tasty enough but very salty. Not bad, not great. The meals' appearance on the website is much more attractive than in real life.
Martin S — Google review
My father purchased a gift card online on their website for 75$ to give me for Christmas. Came into eat, and they refused to accept my gift card. Turns out they only accept these cards for online takeout orders, however that is not stated anywhere online. Who gets a gift card just to order takeout. The waitress told me this has been a reoccurring issue. Feels like they need to state the terms of their gift card, or maybe accept their own gift card. I feel like I got scammed. I am a college student, that cannot normally afford to go out and eat, and intended to pay with the giftcard. Now I can't afford groceries for the rest of the month. Also they didn’t bring us all the food we ordered. The service was also super slow, and our waitress kept walking past and ignoring our table.

Sushi restaurant
Asuka Sushi & Hibachi is a modern Japanese hibachi grill and sushi bar located in New Orleans. It offers a fusion of contemporary and traditional Japanese cuisine, featuring a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and hot dishes. The restaurant prides itself on using only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients to create traditional Japanese food as well as innovative sushi creations.
Our favorite hidden gem for sushi in NOLA! 5-STARS. Always fresh high quality and wonderful sushi. Superb and fast service, in a low key atmosphere. Not pretentious - LOCAL! Favorite rolls are: Aloha roll = mango Koi roll = awesome, no rice, Twister (tempura shrimp and mango) & Rainbow roll. Great sushi to try are: Hamachi (Yellowtail), Eel (Unagi) & Escolar = White tuna. Gary is always pleasant and friendly.
John B — Google review
A small sushi restaurant near Xavier's campus, I've previously been before. While they do have traditional offerings, their specialty rolls are where it's at. I was starving so I went a little crazy this time and ordered 2 specialty rolls plus 2 traditional, plus miso and the snow crab app. The miso was standard but good, but the crab app is really flavorful, no Krab here. The yellowtail was some of the best I've had in recent memory. And my salmon skin hand roll WAS the best I've ever had. My crazy roll and queen of the sea were both excellent as well. I had a really hard time trying to choose which ones I wanted because they all sounded so good. The prices are so reasonable too, you can almost afford to order half the menu like I want to. I'll be back to try more, and maybe I can convince them to add mackerel to the menu in exchange for that 5th star. Rules are rules.
Malcolm E — Google review
First time at Asuka Sushi and let me tell you this spot is amazing!!!!! Hands down one of the best Japanese restaurants in NOLA. Started off with the cucumber salad and sushi. So fresh and delicious. Not to mention the wine was a nice touch to our meal. The service was fast and efficient. I would absolutely come back again.
Hannah C — Google review
The sushi was so good! This place looks unassuming from the outside, but they sure do deliver on the inside. Everything is clean and bright, and the service was outstanding. We started with the Pesce Hamachi, which was melt in your mouth amazing, and then shared the Nemo, Aloha, and Koi rolls. Every single roll was better than the last one. The mango on the Aloha, the lemon on the Koi, and the kick from the chili oil on the Nemo, every one was perfection. We will definitely be back!
Michelle R — Google review
Super tasty and generous portions. Every detailed request of our order was perfect the first time. Our host and server Nick was friendly and very attentive. Will definitely be coming here regularly. Update: Came back for lunch a month later and Nick recognized us. It was busier this time but he was still making each table feel like they were the most important one there.
John D — Google review
Hey Peeps!! If you have not tried Asuka Sushi and Hibachi you need to get there. I mean run, don’t walk, there hibachi is outstanding! The food was fresh, hot, and scrumptious. The service was helpful and polite my first time, and the atmosphere was clean, bright, and very inviting. I will be back; I will not just drive by again. The best hibachi uptown!
Nola R — Google review
My wife and I get food to-go from here all of the time. My wife has tried most of the sushi and rates it all very well. I usually get the chicken fried rice, it's always cooked very well! The people that run it are very nice and fast! They even run their lunch menu on the weekend!!!!
Andrew W — Google review
Basic and no surprises. Same songs play every hour of every day, so if you go often, prepare for earworms stuck in your head. Wait staff likewise there every day, handling the crowd efficiently. Only there never is a crowd, as they mostly do take out orders and those dining in are quite rare. Parking is ample since it's a triangular standalone lot. Prices are more than fair and the lunch specials, while limited, are offered most hours of the day.

The Geisha Sushi Bistro is an upscale-casual Japanese restaurant with modern decor, classic fare and creative sushi rolls. The restaurant believes in providing an ethereal and alluring restaurant ambiance when dining and aims to provide a one-of-a-kind Japanese dining experience. The sushi was delicious, and the noodles were also enjoyed by all. The next time the city is visited, this sushi restaurant should definitely be on the list of places to eat.
Love doing takeout here. My favorite roll is the Puff Daddy roll (now called Uda roll I think?) & their fried rice is seriously the best in the city. Anytime I have a crazy for either- this is my go-to. Street parking, smaller establishment perfect for lunch or drinks at the bar. Staff is always kind & service fast!
Alexandria M — Google review
First-time visit. The restaurant is located right off Canal Street, easy to access. We arrived at 1 PM and were seated immediately. We ordered three rolls for dine in and shrimp and salmon hibachi to go. The rolls were excellent. We had the hibachi back at our hotel for dinner. I thought the salmon and fried rice was a bit dry, my wife's was fine. Service was excellent and other than the annoying people out front on the sidewalk selling tourist junk, this was an enjoyable lunch. Enjoy.
Larry G — Google review
We came here for my 42nd birthday. The sushi really was delicious. We had one of the combo plates, shumai, as well as miso soup and a Cali roll for good measure. The service was great too which always makes a difference.
Dana I — Google review
I walked in and Ordered to go. They seemed pretty nice. I took the sushi to my room next door but it had underripe Mangos on my roll, which is what the girl suggested me to get bc it’s so good. So much for the sex and the city roll being the good roll. They gave me no ginger, which is rare, most sushi places give you these things. Not to mention the terrible crab puffs with hard crunchy bell peppers inside with a fishy flavor. I figured the spicy tuna roll would be easy but fishy and pretty lack luster. Then $2 for soy paper for each roll. Nothing like your first bite getting a fish scale stuck in your teeth. This was a terrible mistake. I would suggest going anywhere but here if you even decide to eat sushi in New Orleans, they have much better places around. Next time I won’t make the mistake to try this garbage.
D D — Google review
I love the miso ramen here and get it with chicken katsu. They also have good nigiri here which is the first sign of a good sushi spot, and fancy rolls make it easy to mask bad fish. I also think they are very good with hiring skilled sushi chefs that are consistent. Minor detail but sometimes the ramen broth is too cold in my opinion. Would like to see more consistency with the ramen temperature and have it always come out hot. Hopefully this is not just a personal preference.
Andy W — Google review
We came here after missing the dinner boat cruise on the river and it was pretty good. I'm not a raw food person so all our options were deep fried or cooked. We got the shrimp tempura... California roll... bourbon roll and the dragon roll. Our waiter was pretty attentive and answered all 300 questions I had about what was in the different options. Pretty flavorful and as you can see the presentation was amazing as well. I'd recommend this spot for a sushi experience for sure so give them a try.
Ashley S — Google review
Still as fantastic as our first visit years ago. The Sushi is fresh and the rolls arent boring and theres a fairly large selection. The gyoza are some of the best we've ever had but we didn't care for the sui mai dumplings. The service is also excellent as they have a friendly and efficient staff. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for sushi lovers.
Amy D — Google review
This is among the best sushi and service I have had in a long time. The menu was clear organized, and easy to navigate. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. Our server was so good for our table. Drinks and refills were spot on as well as the recommendations since this is our first time here. Our meal was prepared with passion. Steak hibachi was my favorite! I will recommend anyone to try this restaurant.

Sake Cafe uptown is a sleek and modern restaurant offering seasonal sushi, Japanese dishes, and a full bar with premium sake. With multiple locations in Metairie, Elmwood, and New Orleans, this spot provides an extensive list of signature cocktails and great deals during their daily happy hour from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The sophisticated restaurant uses fresh ingredients to offer an incredible selection of sushi as well as staple Japanese dishes.
Very popular modern style sushi & sake bar on Magazine. Happy hour menu with a handful of sushi items and cocktail specials. Good staff, friendly place, especially Ty, a consummate creative. It must be nationally renowned as there are a lot of celebrity-signed portraits.

The Tiger roll, edamame and calamari were delicious. Don’t recommend the fried rice. It had raw red onion that just didn’t really fit well. Server was really nice but the ambiance was a little awkward with no music. Perfect if you like a quiet restaurant though!
Kendall B — Google review
First time dining at a Sake Cafe and had a fairly good experience! I really liked the complimentary parking which allowed 6 hours!! I thought it would be 2-3 hours max, but when it said 6, I was impressed. Service was great especially since my party and I ordered a lot. The waitress was accommodating and allowed us to use two other tables nearby for our dishes and to-go containers. Everything we ordered was good especially the calamari and sashimi. Only thing disappointing was their happy hour menu. I felt like it was very limited and barely had anything to offer compared to other sushi restaurants. Overall, it was still a great place to dine in. Even the ambience and anesthetics were nice! I would most likely return and recommend this location to others!

My friend and I came tonight and this is what we found in the bottom of our wine glasses….. And yes, both were in the inside. The first two pics are mine and the 3rd is her glass. 😩🤢😖

I am truly shocked by the experience I had last night. I have been eating at Sake for 12+ years. I have dealt with sub par service but love their sushi and that’s why I kept going. But I don’t think I will ever go again because of the waitress who served my friend and I last night. After ordering our appetizers, which she came to pick up at some point, she never came back to take our main order. We waited, in silence with our menus closed for over 20+ minutes while she sat down in a chair by the bar playing a game on her phone. At some point a waiter passed by and asked if we were okay and we politely said yes we would just like to place an order. He then called over the waitress who began to lecture us that in order for her to come take our order, we have to ask her to come over and take it, she said she was waiting on us. I was completely shocked at her tone and the fact that she was acting like we wasted her time. If that’s not bad, she then proceeded to walk away and slam/throw our menus down. When she came to fill our waters she did the exact same thing with the water pitcher. I can take a lot because I know it is long and difficult days in the service industry but she had no reason to be as rude and condescending as she was. I honestly would go as far to say that was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life.
Helena K — Google review
I got the crunchy roll. It was awesome. Better than the California roll which I got as well. The pic is of the crunchy roll.
DANIEL H — Google review
Great food, superb quality. Lovely drinks, and fab staff. The only thing is the speed of delivery of food, they have to work on this - the flow is off, waited for the last of three cocktails which were ordered at the same time for about 15 minutes longer than the other other two. Management also seemed to be in a really crappy mood and somehow managed to make several staff members cry in the hour or two we were there. This is an absolute no go. Management by fear is not the way to encourage your staff to work harder and run faster.
Danny R — Google review
We ended up getting the Philadelphia roll smoked salmon roll and one of the specialty rolls that I cannot remember the name of also got fried cheesecake for appetizers we had chicken spring rolls, fried goat cheese, and the tuna tataki. All tasted fresh. Everything was reasonably priced some of the best sushi that I've had and I've had sushi All over America and also in Japan. I have to say if you want really good sushi for a good price that tastes fresh I would definitely recommend this place 5 out of 5 Stars would definitely go again.

Restaurant
Royal Sushi & Bar is a laid-back Japanese restaurant in New Orleans, known for its classic dishes, hibachi rice, and innovative sushi rolls. The restaurant offers an extensive menu of authentic and fresh Japanese cuisine, including a variety of sushi and ramen options. The ambiance is inviting with ample seating, making it suitable for both casual and formal dining experiences. With excellent service and flavorful dishes, the restaurant's sushi rolls are particularly popular.
This sushi restaurant has been on my list forever. I always pass it headed to/fro Frenchman at off times of the night. Could not pass up birthday dinner invite. They mackerel so I was happy. They tried and enjoyed my salmon skin, gave them ideas of what to do with leftovers at home. The twister roll was good as well. The miso soup was decent, didn't try the hello kitty, but it was the table's favorite. California and spicy tuna were good, and most of us liked the spicy tonkatsu ramen. I tried to not go crazy, we ordered for the table. The mackerel was up to par, so I was satisfied. The ramen was a surprise, I'd order that for myself. I'll have to make more of an effort to return.

This restaurant was hands down the highlight of my trip and the perfect spot for a memorable date night. Every dish exceeded expectations, but the spicy edamame was by far my favorite. The flavor was the perfect balance of spicy and garlicky, simply outstanding. The service was exceptional, showing a genuine care for their customers and a dedication to perfecting every dish. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious, and I loved that they offered ponzu sauce, which is my absolute favorite. The martini was perfectly crafted, with amazing flavor, and the yellowtail jalapeño was both beautiful and packed with flavor. Every single dish was divine, and I will definitely be returning just for the spicy edamame. 10/10 – an unforgettable dinner experience!

I have been co.ing to this place for a few years now and have eaten a number of dishes that I've really enjoyed. This is the first time I ordered the fried rice and it wasn't very good. As you can see there was VERY little meat in the bowl of rice. It cost 17 dollars and I think they could have done so much better for that price. I noticed lately that a lot of restaurants are starting to do that these days and they're charging more. They don't need to make ut that obvious... 🙄🤐

Is review is comparing with a real Japanese taste. So the food and the place was good, not too expensive but it doesn’t taste like a japan ramen . Is a good taste tho 7.5 /10

I consider myself to be a fairly big sushi snob and always try to find a spot during my travels. Was I ever glad I came across Royal Sushi. Everything I had was incredible. The baked scallop roll (pictured) was A++. Will be returning if I ever make it back to NOLA.

Royal St. Sushi is my literal favorite place. The service, quality, and experience is always spot on for me whether it’s a casual Friday night date night or one of the nights during Deep Gras. I genuinely love this place.

This place is awesome! I got the pork gyozo and the chicken ramen and everything tasted so fresh and was perfectly seasoned. The service was so great, with staff checking in frequently and coming by to refill my soda often. Prices were really reasonable too!

A Japanese restaurant that specializes in sushi and Japanese cuisine, Haiku Sushi offers dishes made from fresh and rich-tasting ingredients. They also have a unique selection of sushi rolls, each with a different flavor combination.
The food was great! The drink menu has great options and the cocktails were really pretty and delicious. The service was excellent. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a quick dinner at Haiku Sushi. It's a nice restaurant with quick service. Their outside seating area is very cozy for the warmer season. The rolls were unfortunately just okay, but the ramen was very tasty. I would return for more of that!

Lillian was a great waitress. We sat outside for dinner and it was very pleasant. Spicy hand roll, Sushi- rainbow Roll, squid Steak - super delicious, seafood stir fried udon noodles were all so perfect. Lots of make it your own options for ramen, really loved that!! Top ratings and very authentic. Pricing was very decent!! Highly recommend!!

…It’s been awhile since I’ve visited this place and it has changed dramatically. I thought I would take a break from studying and treat myself. The customer service was subpar and unwelcoming, unfortunately. The food tastes completely different from my prior experiences. I would frequent this spot and support it wholeheartedly. Tchoupitoulas roll was extremely bland and halfway fried. I mean, I don’t know what’s the deal. Try if you will, you may like it. First time that I’ve been in a minute and it was my last time going.
DS, D — Google review
I’d heard good things about this spot and had seen such pretty pictures I had to stop in, however the food was just okay, nicely presented, but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was so warm and cozy, though the service was a little less so. Everyone has their days though, truthfully I was more let down by the food itself. The yellowtail jalapeño appetizer was fine, but the rest honestly lacked flavor and didn’t taste very fresh. So although it’s not a bad spot, there are definitely better in the city around the same price point.

Came in midday to have some sushi with my partner and it was the perfect setting. Prices were great. All the ingredients were very fresh! Definitely check out the happy hour, squid salad, and the hand rolls!

Wow what a find this place was. The food is superb and the service is excellent, the lady who runs the place is so sweet and inviting and funny. The place is beautiful and has a very chill vibe really cool relaxing music playing. Located in an upbeat lively spot on Magazine. I loved it and will be back soon for more. I'll definitely be in the outdoor section when the weather changes and enjoying Nola with some delicious food and Sake drinks.

Ikura Hibachi And Sushi is a laid-back dining spot that offers a mix of Japanese cuisine, including hibachi dishes and sushi rolls. The restaurant features skilled hibachi chefs who entertain guests with their cooking shows. The menu includes a variety of sushi rolls, ramen options like Tonkotsu Ramen and corn butter ramen, as well as other Japanese specialties.
My wife and I stopped by Wednesday to grab a bite to eat. It was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were pleased with everything from the amount of food that is portioned to the price of the food. The service was prompt, professional, and very enjoyable. We will be eating here again in the near future and will possibly make this a regular stop during our date nights. The sushi rolls were huge and very delicious.I had no complaints and would recommend eating here to anyone looking for great hibachi/ sushi.

Ikaru Sushi offers a good all-you-can-eat experience that's hard to beat the deal. The variety of sushi is extensive, featuring everything from classic rolls to more adventurous options. The fish is always fresh, and the chefs are skilled at creating beautifully presented dishes. The service is friendly and efficient, ensuring that your plates are refilled quickly without long waits. Overall, it's a decent spot for sushi lovers looking to indulge in a wide array of delicious options.
Devin S — Google review
The food was absolutely fantastic! They have a Hibachi area that’s nicely set apart from the dining area. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant! While the atmosphere felt a bit dark during the day, I can totally see it being the perfect romantic setting for dinner. I didn’t eat in the Hibachi area, so I can't say how much fun everyone was having there, but I heard the show is excellent! The sushi was delicious, and the chef was super accommodating, making a slight adjustment to my order just the way I like it.
Nadine L — Google review
Ikura used to be a favorite when I was at Tulane, so I was excited to visit again while in New Orleans, but it was a complete letdown. We ordered the same dish twice, and the portions were noticeably different, which was bad. Why the inconsistency, shouldn't you match the first dish that was served? The curry ramen was especially bad: a hard-boiled egg instead of the jammy kind, overly salty, and the meat was tough and bland like it was just boiled. Curry ramen used to be my go-to dish... The other dishes were average at best. Really disappointed to see how far this place has fallen. I won’t be coming back.
Tammy — Google review
Where do I even begin with this amazing experience? It was for my 3rd daughter's 9th birthday and we drove to New Orleans because she wanted Hibachi out of town. Despite bad weather the trip was well worth it. Our family was seated right away and our sushi rolls were out and ready to eat in no time and were delicious to say the least. We ordered 7 different rolls including the Poboy and Bourbon roll which I highly recommend if you are dining in. The hibachi was such a full treat that had I known it would be so filling I probably would've gotten less sushi because I was not prepared for such generous portion sizes for the family. It made me happy I didn't get an appetizer cause I wouldn't have made it out of the restaurant for at least an hour from being so full. They sang my daughter happy birthday and made her day extra special. The atmosphere was open, friendly, and inviting. The lighting along with it made it great for an intimate family moment and I will definitely be returning. Now my 5 year old wants the same place for her 6th birthday 🤣🤣🤣. Many thanks to the wonderful staff of Ikura for having us, my compliments to the Chefs and God bless them for the heart warming food!!
Lady T — Google review
Food is not hot, even though I came to pick up 30 minutes after ordering (like their website suggested when I placed the order). When I got there, the staff seemed confused about anyone placing an order in the first place. After waiting 20 more minutes, this is what they gave me.. it seems like someone's leftovers since most of the plate is cold and the filet isn't cooked how it was ordered and I don't even think this is filet. It is tough like regular steak... I'm extremely disappointed in everything and will never return. I'll make sure I can stop anyone else I know from having the same disappointment I had.
Jenna C — Google review
Don't order the shrimp for take-out!!! The texture was like dry chicken. So disappointed to pay $30 for this garbage. The "salad" was 2 lettuce leaves soaked in dressing. The noodles, rice and vegetables were good.
Shannon S — Google review
Let me start with service was good, however, the food? Save yourself the money. They up charge for everything, they don’t do substitutions for anything. The food was also not flavorful or fresh. We ordered beef fried rice and man was it distasteful, fatty, sour and discolored. We also ordered a couple of sushi rolls and it tasted old, we didn’t even eat more than two pieces of the one with tuna. The staff was decent but the food, yeah no thank you. We will not be back.

I am an experience girl and this definitely was an experience. We enjoyed the chef's choice seven course meal. Everything was unique and delicious. Even something as simple as a miso soup was elevated.

Best omakase ever! I am not a raw sushi roll lover, yet the lovely chefs here made me change my mind ; they put a lot of love, passion, and effort into their recipe! Every 🍣 that's came out, their menu was making my mouth water ! I'm a huge fan!

I’ve had a fantastic time at Yo Nashi every time I visit! The staff's passion for what they do truly comes across, and their attention to detail makes every evening feel special. I’ve only tried their a la carte menu so far, and each visit has felt like a fresh experience, even when ordering the same dishes. Their nigiri were so remarkable it moved me to tears! Their maki rolls are equally fantastic—elegantly presented and bursting with flavor. And the cocktails? Impeccably crafted and the perfect match to the meal. I can’t wait to try their omakase experience next; I’m sure it will be phenomenal! Yo Nashi has become my favorite spot for a memorable night out.

Outstanding Omakase. The freshest sushi I have experienced in New Orleans. Chef is personable and a true artist. The Kobe beef is a must, and I would encourage the addition of it to the meal. Drinks are also great.

There are some places that just feel like you're meant to be there. This was one of those places for me for the past several years. The owner, Kyle (thanks, man), created a pocket dimension unlike any other place in Nola, even Louisiana for that matter. I loved bringing people here to watch the joy and mind-melting elation when they realized after the first dish what they were in for. The food was celestial here, it felt like a drug. I knew if I had dinner here I was going to have an amazing night. Every single time. I myself, lived and evolved for years while coming here. This was the place I wanted to go to celebrate anything, a birthday, a new opportunity, or a new part of life. Knowing the structure and people were the same but the ingredients were different, watching time pass and knowing their consistency was always there, gave me a comfort I don't know how to describe here. Having this anchor removed from the mooring of reality is going to change Nola. I'm glad I got to experience this while it was here and I'm sure I'll be chasing this dragon for the rest of my life. Special thanks to Holly and Jose for always making my night exemplary. Thank you, Yo Nashi, to your people, your building, and your food. We'll miss you but never forget the amazing memories. Have a great last night!

Went here on my Birthday and wow what an experience! While the price was high, it was some of the best food I’ve ever had. It was a 10 course meal! TEN COURSES! Yes each course is very small but by the end trust me, it’s the perfect amount. Each course is unique and different, and tastes amazing! The sushi was so good. Perfect place for a romantic date or just to experiment with new food! Do not go here if you are wanting a quick experience or loads of food, it’s more about quality over quantity and you let each bite marinate. I highly recommend you try it!

Best dining experience I've had in a while. The quality of both service and food was spectacular! Our server was great and she gave me a suggestion for a sushi roll, the Tuna Tsurai, which I enjoyed. Another favorite from my dinner was the Kimchee Octopus salad and the white fish tuna that came with our tricolor sashimi. My partner's favorite was the scallops and thought the enoki mushrooms went well with it. Unfortunately I forgot our server's name, but believe it started with a D (Delene? Sorry!) She was fantastic. Richard the bartender made us fantastic drinks!!! The only thing that felt out of place were the many TVs in the restaurant. It didn't effect anything negatively at all but that stood out. I am excited to come back and eat more delicious sushi.

I have been all over the US and can confidently say this is one of the best places I have been to for sushi. I feel like a lot of places lately have been suffering from a lack of care with their servers. This place was an exception. One of the best experiences I have had since prepandemic. The menu options were insane. A literal book and almost overwhelming. Our server acknowledged this and offered suggestions. Really appreciated that they weren’t the most expensive and after tasting spot on for what the 3 of us said we liked. 10 out of 10 will definitely go again. Not expensive for for how delicious it was and absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Yakuza House, located at 2740 Severn Ave., is a top spot for high-end omakase-style dining in New Orleans. Originally a small handroll bar, it has now expanded to a larger location. Chef Huy Pham offers an omakase menu, but the broad and consistently good regular menu allows diners to create their own culinary journey.
The best sushi experience I’ve had so far. I sat at the bar with my friend and even got to chat with one of the chefs who was very funny and also gave us something new to try. Our waiter was super sweet and helpful too. The food speaks for itself, just amazing quality technique and ingredients. Great job!

We had a wonderful experience celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary here! Our server, Barbie, was absolutely amazing—so thoughtful and attentive. The restaurant offered us complimentary champagne for the occasion, and since I’m pregnant, Barbie kindly substituted mine with ginger ale without missing a beat. The food was fantastic—the sashimi was especially fresh and delicious. What really touched us was that Barbie took the time to learn where we were from and even wrote us a sweet note in Korean on the receipt wishing for a smooth delivery (순산). It was such a meaningful gesture that made our night even more special. Thank you for the memorable experience

Enjoyed a wonderful dining experience here! We got the “hangry” set of hand rolls sliced and the peppered tuna sashimi. At the waitress’s recommendation we had the Mirror of Truth Sake. The food was delicious and fresh with great flavors. My favorite of the hand rolls was the scallop. The interior is cozy and comfortable, mostly booths and bar seating. I look forward to returning to try more food here.

Came here by myself for lunch and sat at the bar. Everyone here made me feel welcome and was very friendly. While sitting at the bar I was given a complimentary piece of bluefin tuna cheek and it melts in your mouth. Such a nice treat. I really enjoyed the crispy rice appetizer, I got tuna and salmon, and I think I preferred the tuna but both delicious! The shisojito cocktail which is their take on a mojito and it is very refreshing. I also had the chicken teriyaki lunch which came with soup and salad. The miso soup was delicious and I loved the ginger dressing on the salad. The chicken teriyaki was also very flavorful. I hate that I was too stuffed to try dessert but I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

With the fish heavy menu I expected better quality fish. However, the dishes are presented and/or dressed beautifully. Decent prices, great bar, great vibe. Maybe a bit too much garnish, and wasabi on the peppered tuna 😅.

As Japanese, I have somewhat picky about sushi place. I went here yesterday and I was VERY happy! They have Uni, Ikura, Amaebi etc. the fish I hadn’t really seen at other sushi restaurant and the quality was actually pretty good! Makimono (Temaki) waa good too, perfect size, not too big, you can easily eat three of them lol Their dessert fluffy Japanese Ube cheesecake was die for, it was amazing (I couldn’t take because we dug in too quickly. Definitely somewhere you want to try if you like Sushi!

Started with miso soup and house salad — basically therapy in broth and ginger dressing form. Then the crispy rice hit like a crunchy love letter, and the shrimp gyoza? Pan-fried dumpling perfection. Yellowtail crudo showed up glowing like it just did yoga, and the mushroom udon carbonara? Japan and Italy made a delicious, creamy baby. The shisojito cocktail? Minty, citrusy, and probably cured my seasonal depression. And the Japanese fluffy cheesecake? An angelic dessert that whispered, “You deserve this.”

The food was delicious, and the staff were polite and enthusiastic, making the dining experience enjoyable. However, I noticed a discrepancy between the menu prices and the actual charges. This is an error on the restaurant's part and should not be the responsibility of the customer. I hope the restaurant can improve on this for a better customer experience.

Great atmosphere, great service, sushi lacks a lot of presentation, it was falling apart as I was eating it, sushi chefs need to definitely to fix how they create the rolls, I think they are rushing orders, idk it was a BIG turn off especially for the price range, Metairie location had way better presentation!

We walked in at 8:30 and were sat after only a few minutes. Then we were ignored for 20 minutes – no drink orders, no waters, not even a greeting from a server. Music was also very loud so every party around us was basically yelling. Not a great place for a conversation or a date. Prices were high but that’s normal these days.

This downtown NOLA sushi spot off the beaten path is great to try sushi but be prepared for steep prices. We enjoyed the: - Tuna sashimi - Salmon nigiri - Voodoo roll (highly recommend if you like spicy tuna) - Party boat platter While the sushi is legit I had several issues: - Absurd pricing. $9 for a bottle of water without notice. No thanks! - Upcharges: $3 for dressing on sashimi, which is already pricey at $9 for two pieces of nigiri (typically $4-5 per piece). - Menu discrepancies: Online menu doesn't match the actual menu, and they're not affiliated with the chain. Considering it's NOLA, I would prefer not to pay NYC prices for sushi. If prices were more reasonable this would be 5 stars. Note for the owner - You have great potential for this place. However, considering how dead the place was on a Thursday night, I would recommend experimenting with pricing / specials to get more people in the door.

Have a laissez les bons temps rouler and you're all set for a wonderful night!

Very slow so there was only one waiter. Seemed like he cared more for the fancy dressed people than our table. The food had good taste. The carb soup needs to mention it is not real crab but imitation carb that was a major let down. The scallops were a disgrace. They were wafer thin like one scallop had been split three times. Probably will not be back.

Mediocre food, terribly slow service. Went on a Monday night at 7:45pm. Bar was empty and there were 3 tables seated. A sign said to seat yourself. We waited 25 minutes to be greeted and receive waters, then waited another 40 minutes for them to bring out 2 out of 4 people's food. After another 20 minutes they brought out the other 2 people's food. 1 roll was never brought at all, but we were still charged for it and had to ask for it to be removed. The food was mediocre - very affordably priced but small portions and somewhat messy/bland looking. The summer roll ($10.50) and spicy tuna roll ($6.00) are pictured below. Two in our group ordered the spicy tuna roll and one person had chunks of wasabi in theirs for some reason and had to spit out the rolls because they weren't palatable. Can't complain too much based on the price but that's 2 hours of our life we can't get back.

I’ve been coming to Hana for years, but never got around to doing a review. It is probably one of the best values in terms of sushi in the whole area. I used to get the chirashi lunch all the time when I was going to Loyola. The service is very Courteous and prompt and the owner is a sweet lady who walks around and gives you individualized attention. This time I got the chirashi again in addition to an assortment nigiri and appetizers of which tuna Tataki was the best. The yellowtail was super fresh and delicious. Apparently this place has been here, unchanged for decades. I've seen it out the corner of my drunken eye several times myself waiting on the street car after leaving Coops, but have never ventured to try it myself. They've been coming since HS, but as it's in uptown, doesn't make it out this way more often. OMG THE MACKEREL! This is my new favorite place. I haven't had saba this good since Morimotos. Maybe it's because I can't get anything resembling good saba in MS, so it been awhile, but damn. I was clutching my pearls and making all kinds of inappropriate noises and faces doing my best Meg Ryan impersonation. You get a comp noodle salad that reminds me of the macaroni salad ban chan you get at Korean restaurants. The miso is standard but good. Some of the best gyoza I've ever had, you can taste the green onion like you're supposed to. There was also a yellowtail, salmon skin, and hana rolls. While they were all good, I'd just come back to load up on the mackerel. I wish these other sushi restaurants would learn that my love and 5 stars can be easily bought.

🌸 A Zen Culinary Experience at Hana Sushi 🌸 Hana Sushi in New Orleans isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a ritual. For those of us who practice the zen of food Qi, this place is sacred ground. The sushi here honors tradition, crafted with care and intention, not drowned in mayo or molded for mass appeal. If your idea of sushi is sticky rice topped with imitation crab, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you’re seeking authenticity, depth of flavor, and a quiet reverence for the art of Japanese cuisine, Hana delivers. The atmosphere is calm, the portions generous, and the experience—excellent. Go slow. Savor each bite. Hana isn’t fast food—it’s food that lasts in memory.

Absolutely amazing place. The waitresses and Manager always caters to my every need their food there is absolutely superb. I would 100% consider coming here. If you want good authentic food come here. I cannot speak more highly of this restaurant

A Japanese restaurant in the city with a very good value for money and one of the few restaurants that is actually run by a Japanese sushi chef. It has been open for almost 30 years and the chef is very experienced. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh. (Let me tell you a secret: they restock every Friday and Saturday.) Their portions are also larger than other restaurants. However, they are very busy at night, so it is recommended not to dine there during peak meal times, as their waiters will neglect to take care of you because there are too many customers. I recommend going there during happy hour in the afternoon to enjoy the service, which is ideal.

We love and respect the owners of this restaurant. They are so sweet! They always make us feel special. The foods are so delicious. The service is great! Love to come here whenever we come to New Orleans and crave for Japanese food!

Kanno is a small Japanese restaurant located in Metairie, known for its creative sushi rolls and casual strip-mall ambiance. The menu features inventive options such as the Elvis roll, made with salmon and avocado, as well as skinny rolls without rice and soy paper. Other popular choices include the snow and blue crab rolls, along with the protein roll containing spicy tuna, snow crab, avocado, and salmon. The restaurant has garnered a dedicated following of regulars who appreciate its fresh fish and quick service.
Out of towner looking for some amazing came via recommendation and it did not disappoint. Some of the best sushi I’ve had. Service was top notch, including recommendations. Will be back the next time we are In town.

Great little find! I had the Tiki Roll, Kush Roll, and Shumai appetizer. Everything tasted great and the service was phenomenal. The whole staff were friendly. Will definitely return!

So technically wasn't aiming to come here, but my navigator got confused(again). This is the second time I've ended up at a sushi restaurant that was not where we originally agreed upon. As long as it's good I'm always down for sushi though. They are more of a modern style sushi, with mostly specialty rolls to fit every appetite. I like how you can get half orders of some of their specialty rolls which we took advantage of. I know there was a kush and a bobby roll, a Ryan roll(?) and can't remember the last one, plus seaweed salad and salmon skin roll. Everything was excellent, especially the kush and bobby rolls. I can't believe I somehow ended up with mostly soy wrap rolls but I did. Even being a traditionalist to the point of snobbish, I was really wowed by these. My salmon skin was excellent too. The Sapporo was ice cold, almost slushy. So good on a secretly hot day in October. BUT being the sushi snob that I am, I have to admonish them for no mackerel. If you can't feed my saba addiction, you won't get my undying love and admiration.

First time walking in and out wasn't packed. I love to sit at the sushi bar. The cure of meat on the sushi was nice and generous. The tuna Toro melts in your mouth. The rolls were amazing 10/10 the food here never disappoints. The staff is nice and always ready to help. The atmosphere is great the smaller the place the better the food.

A very warm welcome here as my friend eats here regularly....and food wise I can see why. Nice big glass of chilled water straight away and then happy and attentive service. The sushi was great in all the forms it came. The fresh wasabi is a must! Also had some of the teriaki action going on which was delicious. The kobe beef was well worth the bite too! This place is well worth a trip and has all the hallmarks of a well-run restaurant.

Came here for lunch and had a great experience! The food is fresh and delicious and the service is great. It was very quick (we were in and out in about 30 minutes) for a lunch break. I had a Philly roll and the beef gyoza and both were so good. I will definitely be back for dinner!

Without question my favorite sushi place in the greater Nola area. So so fresh, small space but great knowledgeable staff who aren't afraid to make recommendations. The salads are unique and delicious... I'm currently over the moon with the albacore kimchi salad.. It's delicious. Sashimi deluxe is great value and variety of fish.. All buttery and melt in your mouth good. Kanno is one reason to go to Metry.

Izakaya restaurant
Sukeban, which translates to "delinquent girl," is a Japanese izakaya located in New Orleans. Chef Jacqueline Blanchard brings her Assumption Parish upbringing into the culinary scene with seasonal crawfish handrolls. Despite its name, Sukeban offers a restrained menu featuring temaki, sides, and carefully sourced international specials like nigiri. The 16-seat tavern focuses on fantastic hand rolls but also features sought-after specials such as razor clams.
We loved our meal at Sukeban! Miso soup is always a hit, especially in this cold weather. We tried the salmon, blue crab, and scallop handrolls. Would highly recommend the first two. We were very satisfied with soup and two handrolls per person. Staff are very kind and helpful. The atmosphere is unique and pretty. Lastly, must try the satsuma sorbet!!

Delightful experience. We had been recommended this lovely spot for quite a while by our foodie friends, have watched their social media of their fresh and unique offerings and when we were looking to expand beyond our regular go to places, they were always booked. To our surprise, they had a 7pm seating for two at the bar and we were excited for the night out. Parking was an ease, right on Oak St and we were greeted with smiles like we had been their before. We lucked out with seats right in front of the prep station to watch a well organized and orchestrated service of not only delicious, but beautiful masterpieces of food art. Every bite was wonderful, watching each roll or small bite made, you just wanted to try that too. The recommendation to start with sashimi and a small bite, then move onto a hand roll or two was perfect. Leave room for dessert too! Each course is prepared after you finish the previous one, so there is no plate crowding or rush. Plan about an hour for a small plate with sashimi, two hand rolls (one at a time) and dessert. But if you are in to try everything on the menu, it could be a two plus hour extravaganza!

Incredible food with specialty ingredients sourced directly from Japan. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Even deceivingly simple dishes like the miso soup and potato salad are delicious. Order the specials and dessert.

maybe i’m biased bc i went for my birthday, but it was truly a 5/5 experience. the staff were so attentive and the food was seriously AMAZING. definitely a pricey place, but a great spot for a special celebration (or if you’re in the mood any other time, all power to you!!) the sides were unexpected stats - both the cabbage and the potato salad. fish was delicious, and they had a special tempura cracker ?? with uni on it, blew my mind

Disappointing Omakase – Not Worth $130 Came in mentally prepared to be underwhelmed by omakase in New Orleans, but this experience still managed to disappoint in new ways. For $130, the omakase consisted of just three small appetizers, three hand rolls, and one dessert—barely filling and far from memorable. The only highlight was the seasonal black sesame ice cream, which I’d recommend ordering à la carte if you must come here. Full breakdown: 1. A miso soup with mushrooms to start—not your usual miso, but still nothing particularly exciting. 2. Marinated tuna, served at room temp. Slightly above average for New Orleans tuna. 3. A local white fish that oddly followed the tuna course. It had a nice oily flavor, reminiscent of Spanish ham, but the portion was minuscule. 4. A bitter vegetable dish topped with what looked like furikake. Not tasty, and its place in the course progression was confusing. 5. Crab hand roll – fresh enough and tasty, with crispy seaweed. 6. Uni and ikura hand roll – likely Japanese uni, which melted in the mouth. Pretty good overall. 7. Salmon hand roll – decent quality, chopped salmon, nicely balanced. 8. After we mentioned we were still hungry, the chef handed us hand rolls with pickled daikon. Crunchy, but uninspired. We ate them just to feel a bit more full. 9. The only dish I’d recommend: seasonal black sesame ice cream with crunchy corn flakes. Fragrant and flavorful. When we saw an all-American chef and staff, we had some doubts, but remembered that great sushi in Houston can also be made by American chefs. Sadly, this wasn’t one of those cases. Omakase here feels entirely dependent on whether the chef wants you to leave full. To top it off, a mandatory 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill, no matter your party size. That just made the whole experience feel worse.
Lu K — Google review
Came here for my partner and I's anniversary. The staff was phenomenal and the vegan selection blew me away. Somehow they blended the atmosphere to be refined but casual, taking the pressure off the experience. Loved every second, can't wait to return.

This is top notch Japanese restaurant with very good sashimi, hand rolls and onigiri. When you bite into a hand roll, the seaweed snaps. It has a crunch to it that is very satisfying. The fish is super fresh and the onigiri is the best I’ve had in nola. It’s also a very clean eating experience. I don’t believe they are adding an extra oils for flavor like some restaurants do. So you don’t get that umami flavor as much but they offer shoyu in a little bottle.

A small but classy sushi bar on Magazine Street in Lower Garden near the St. Vincent. There really aren't that many sushi places in NOLA, but it's good to have this one in the neighborhood. Delicious and fresh sushi and hand rolls. This is not the place for cheap and fast sushi. But the prices reflect the quality you’ll get. Some of the best and freshest sushi in the city. Hoshun, a well-established restaurant on Saint Charles Avenue since 2008, is renowned for its delectable sushi and Asian-inspired cuisine. Really an enjoyable meal. The staff is friendly and checks in often. The food was really good. We made it for Happy Hour and had a great time. The decor is dark but aesthetically pleasing which created a relaxing experience.

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Garlic salmon 2-piece sushi is INCREDIBLE. GET IT. Everyone loved their dishes. Didn't have time to take a pic it was so good. I have been ordering take out from Sushi Brothers for at least a few years now. The have by far the best sushi I've tried. The menu is extensive and offers both familiar classics and lots of original rolls as well. Other places maybe have one or two things worth trying, whereas sushi bros. has dozens! The staff is friendly and helpful. The service is fast. The prices are average for for sushi, but definitely more worth those prices, in my opinion. My boyfriend and I tend to go with the shrimp and veggie tempura, seafood martini, crunchy dynamite roll, and my absolutel favorite, the house special roll (add rice). It's really incredible. I highly recommend this place. The only downsde is that the parking can be tough during the evening hours, especially since covid has kept the parking lot across the street closed off. But I'm willing to park blocks away if necessary for this delicious sushi (though I haven't actually had to do that). The picture I included is the House Special Roll (add rice to the roll). I mean, look how incredibly beautiful, colorful, and delicious it looks! Yum! Definitely check them out. You won't regret it. Enjoy!

Easily one of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in a long time. The fish was incredibly fresh—every piece melted in your mouth and was clearly prepared with care and precision. What really stood out beyond the food was the service. The staff paid close attention to every detail, and you can tell they truly take pride in what they do. This was fantastic. They have LED menus that light up the experience. The restaurant itself feels so modeler and hip. I ordered the Tuna Hibachi along with a “Sexy Man” sushi roll. Been here several times and the food never disappoints. The all you can eat is SUPER worth it. Winnie our server for the second time is very attentive and friendly. Only reason putting 4 stars for atmosphere (which is usually 5*) is because this particular visit, the door was cracked open and a mosquito pestered me the entire meal and it was quite warm for me personally. Amazing restaurant, open late and great for service industry workers to enjoy like myself. Definitely come here and ask for Winnie!

I had such an incredible time at Poseidon ! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh sushi, flavorful oysters, and every bite was a delight. It’s upscale yet relaxed, making it ideal for a date night or a fun outing with friends. And of course, the karaoke was the highlight! Nestled in the heart of New Orleans, Mikimoto Restaurant is a delightful haven for lovers of Japanese cuisine. This cozy spot has been serving up authentic dishes since 1999, making it a beloved staple in the community. While their menu boasts an array of traditional Japanese fare, it's the sushi that truly shines here. The Omakase experience is particularly noteworthy, allowing diners to indulge in a curated selection of premium sushi and sashimi crafted by skilled chefs.
Eaten here twice now and I guess I forgot to leave a review, shame on me! Awesome sushi, had the deluxe, tiger, mango mania, and yellow dragon roll... All great in their own right but if you love mango then mango mania, a little something special you never thought of the yellow dragon roll with the tease from the lemon, a little crunch then the deluxe, and a classic wherever you go with the tiger. Let us not forgot an honorable mention when available, uni! Typically my phone does not eat first but took a picture of the uni just for the review. Nonetheless I can vouch for the sushi and bravo, it's done well!

My mom and I shared the Feed Me and each dish was fresh, light and delicious perfectly paired with the wine. After that, we shared the Spicy Dan Dan Noodles. The broth was so flavorful and warm! To finish, we tried their ice cream trio, and like the rest of the dishes, were perfectly paired and full of aromatics and flavor without being overbearingly sweet. Truly delightful dining experience. Staff sat us despite it being very full for a weekday, they were kind and helpful. Order food I wasn’t even sure I’ve tried before, but wow. Everything was truly delicious. Maybe our new favorite spot in the city.

One of my go-to spots for dumplings and sushi in NOLA! The vibe is laid-back with eye-catching decor that adds to the charm. It’s a small space, so I highly recommend making a reservation if you don’t want to wait. To start, we ordered the Paloma and lychee cocktails, both refreshing and perfectly balanced. We also tried the Monkey Snack and Stoplight rolls. If you’re into bold, complex flavor profiles, the Monkey Snack is a must. Sweet, tangy, and packed with flavor—it hits every note. The Stoplight roll brings just the right amount of heat thanks to the jalapeños, and the fish is incredibly fresh. But the real star for me? The curried dumpling broth. I seriously dream about it when I’m not in NOLA. It’s so rich and flavorful that I almost finish the broth before touching the dumplings. Absolute comfort in a bowl. The tuna rangoons weren’t my favorite, but still a solid dish. Overall, a staple spot for me anytime I’m in town. Consistently delicious with creative dishes that leave a lasting impression.

Cozy little restaurant with a 1.5-hour dining limit. The menu featured a selection of Chinese and Japanese dishes, all well-prepared. My favorite dishes were the double-fried hamachi collar and the tuna Rangoon, both of which were incredibly flavorful. A great spot for a satisfying meal with a blend of Asian flavors.

Quintessential NOLA in every way. LUVI is a gem… can’t believe it took me a couple years to try these guys. Noodles, apps, drinks everything is 5-star. Don’t sleep on these guys. Restaurant is a perfect jewel box as well.

I just brought my parents here for dinner this evening and wow, what an amazing dinner it was. The staff was above and beyond when it came to service: refilling water regularly, were enthusiastic about the dishes, and were very welcoming. The drinks and dishes were phenomenal. The cocktails were well balanced, both tasty and beyond enjoyable. For dishes we had the Monkey Snack, Stoplight, Dragon Boat, Shanghai Spring Rolls, Mala Holla, Curried Favor Dumplings, Lacy Crab Roe Potstickers, and the Vegan Lover Dumplings. We enjoyed the dishes so much that we ordered another Curried Favor Dumpling dish and an order of Dan Dan Noodles To-Go! Every dish was unique and delicious, and not a crumb was left on the plates. For dessert we each had the trio of icecream including black sesame coconut, dragonfruit, and magnolia black tea icecream. The collaboration of LUVI and Creole Creamery on this icecream was superb and the flavors were truly unmatched. And top it all off with an eclectic and intimate atmosphere...Thank you to the owner and staff for such a wonderful dining experience....we will definitely come back!

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to explore outside the CBD. After a 20 min Lyft and over $100 per person for the meal, we just felt underwhelmed. The fish just lacked flavor all around, and many small plates were odd combinations of flavors. Smashed cucumbers were sent back due to very chemically after-taste. Cabbage was the best thing we ate. I would rather go an actual sushi restaurant that values fresh, good quality fish rather than trying to cover up subpar fish with weird sauces. Service was ok.

It’s been a year since I’ve dined in at this restaurant. Our server was friendly. I was not a fan of the tuna roll the fish did not taste fresh. The miso soup was good and so was the crab rangoon.

The prices listed on the website are 30% less than what they charge you. The rolls are smalll, This is $20 of a spicy crunchy tuna and Metairie roll. Don’t waste your money.

I ordered 8 pieces of eel sushi and the price came to $30! That is absolutely ridiculous! Even at a high scale sushi restaurant eel sushi isn’t this high. They don’t tell you how much your order will be over the phone, once you show up they give the price and it seems they adjust to whatever they want it to be!!

Excellent food. Great service and location. To start we ordered edemame and Philadelphia sushi, was really good. Then we had Chicken Pad Thai, Tempura Dinner and Combo Fried Rice, everything was delicious. Recommend!!!

01/26/17: 4.0 out 5 - Coming from Portland, Oregon with close friends. Six of us total to be exact, and we're all "Foodies". Admittedly, we did not know what to really expect being we just arrived and this was our first night in New Orleans. We were surprised with a lot of places closes by 9 PM. Lakeview Pearl Sushi Bar and Asian Bistro just so happened to be close to the AirBnB we all were staying at. It is a local restaurant with parking available. Lakeview definitely was a good place to be with close friends on the first night. The staff were quick to greet and seat us, and they all were great and good to us. The food was prepped well and quite tasty. We seemed to have a decent variety. The drinks (cocktails) were actually very good and went well with all the food we ordered. If you never have been or visiting the area, definitely worth trying once and deciding for yourself. Enjoy!
Therdsak S — Google review
For the last 6 years we have lived 4 blocks away, and have dined at Lakeview Pearl less than 12 times. Reason being is the food is nothing spectacular. Shogun on vets has better quality meat, and the prices are not as high... Tonight will be the last time we visit Lakeview Pearl. Let me show you why. We do not order our rolls with rice, we have always ordered them with no rice, only the meat and vegetable wrapped in either soy or rice paper. We order them this way all over the country, and the rolls visually look quite similar to the other rolls which have rice. Tonight was a special kind of experience. We ordered 2 rolls, no rice. When we picked them up we had no reason to inspect the order, we never had the restaurant forgot anything. We paid, grabbed the bag and headed home.. That's when it got really special... Upon visually inspecting the rolls we found what you see in the photos.. It appears that Lakeview Pearl decided no rice means the customer only gets 1/2 a roll or less. In 25 years of eating sushi, I have never seen a restaurant make the roll so significantly smaller. They always are about the same size as every other roll, maybe a tad smaller, but not what you see. I guess they are really hard up for $, and thought it would be appropriate to present their customer with this.. I have trouble believing any sushi chef would be ok with this..We immediately sent the photos to few friends who are also restauranters. We had to know if what they sold us was out of the ordinary in their expert opinion. It turns out they all agree that what we were given is not acceptable. In closing, it goes without saying that this was not a good idea Pearl. Imagine how many people we will share these photos and story with..?? Its a great conversation, which will also bring many laughs. I hope this helps just one person. If not, maybe the Pearl will close and a better restaurant will open. That would be fantastic..The owners of Juniors would be a great tenant.

Fantastic local neighborhood Sushi restaurant. Of course, the freshest tasting sushi and flavorful soups and sushi rice. We enjoyed the miso soup, the clear soup and the Chirashi. Also, the salad dressing was amazing with the freshest ginger flavour. The service was quick and professional. Highly recommend!

Nestled in Metairie, Shogun is a beloved upscale Japanese steakhouse that has been delighting locals since 1982. Renowned for its vibrant hibachi area and inviting sushi bar, this establishment offers an extensive menu filled with traditional Japanese dishes. Diners rave about the quality and presentation of their sushi, which consistently impresses with freshness and flavor. The bento boxes are particularly noteworthy, showcasing a variety of well-executed options.
The wife and i are still in New Orleans. We looked up on google maps for good places to eat. We saw Shogun had a lot of good reviews so we went for lunch. The place was full. We got in fast. We had the clear soup, the house salad, the fried rice, the noodles, the chicken and steak. The soup was very good. The salad it was good. The rice was very tasty. The chicken and the steak was well seasoned. The place was very clean, the cook was excellent, the waitress was very friendly and attentive. We recommend you stop by and eat there. You will be happy you did. The experience was amazing.

This was my 3rd time having Shogun but my first time ever enjoying the sushi bar. Their sushi is high quality. The prices are fair for the New Orleans area, especially for the quality we received. Shogun offers a large menu that is sure to make everyone in your group happy even if they don’t want seafood or sushi. Drinks wise, they also have delicious lychee martinis and sake to enjoy outside of classic drinks/beers. They do online orders for pickup or delivery with doordash too if you don’t want to dine in. I’ve done both. Overall, this family-owned restaurant is a great place to grab sushi, hibachi, and more in Metairie!

Operational excellence. An institution of Metairie. 25+ years I’ve lived in Metairie and it would be criminal to not say you’ve stumbled on the best restaurant in the entire city. Usually I don't give five stars, however this place was just tremendous. Food was great, and the servers were also wonderful.

I love Rock Sake. It is the best sushi I can find near my house by far. They didn’t have a little mixup on one of our rules and our son was allergic to shellfish so that’s the only reason I gave service three stars instead of five because he couldn’t eat any of the rolls I ordered without shrimp or without snow crab. I also posted he had the allergy, but it was an app and it was overlooked so they were very kind and refunded our card for those rolls. And I’ll be back next time for sure delicious.

10/10 every time we come. My partner and I come here whenever we are craving sushi, and it hits the spot every time. Our favorite rolls are the triple s and garlic salmon. Beef tataki is really good, has a nice kick. As you can see, we ate every last crumb. The outdoor patio is a vibe on a nice day.

Loved the apps and the roll I chose, forgot to take photos. The pork belly wraps were so tender and flavorful . The roll I had came with filet, I can’t remember the name but it was really good . The shrimp app was good as well.

First time diners at this location and we really enjoyed it! We went on a Wednesday around 6pm and first thing we noticed were the cars overflowed onto an open lot next door. Seated at the sushi bar (prefer) and the chef was funny and lively, which matched the ambience and music of the place. Our waitress Tori was so sweet and very attentive! The food was fresh and flavorful and not too bad of a wait, nor was it too crowded. I do agree the price point for the size of the roll is a bit high, but you're paying for the experience as well as the food. Wouldn't be a weekly spot, but definitely a great switch up from your regular hum drum dining spot. The garlic salmon roll was rich and flavorful, scallops seasoned very well, and the tempura ice cream was magical!

Very happy at the fact that this place stays open till 11pm. The waitress was very nice and attentive! The calamari was very tastey and good, would definitely order again, something I order at any and every restaurant that sells it. I took 1 star away cuz I spent $80 on sushi, something I've never thought i could do (yes it was 2 of us but never before have I even come close to that amount). The sushi did taste good but was not anything extravagant for me to say it was worth $80. And the dessert, I didn't know at all what it was but wanted to taste something new, I was left very disappointed with the presentation and the flavor it being some sort of seaweed wrapped icecream.

Excellent Sashimi!! Incredible freshness and super delicate. Hawaii 5-0 roll was so good as well as the edamame. Great wine list too!

Avalina was so kind and patient with us throughout our whole visit. She was very consistent with her visits to our table and super friendly. The food was so delicious. Perfect final meal before our ride back home. Highly recommend this place! Service and food are top notch!

Stopped in a a quick lunch and the staff was very welcoming. The food was ok, nothing to rave about. I had the pull pork sandwich, prosciutto flat bread and the gumbo. The flatbread was kinda hard and served cold. Tasted like crackers with toppings. The standout out was the gumbo. It was the best thing I had here, packed with lots of seafood and had a depth of flavor. Service was a little slow but I may have been because they were understaffed that day. The restaurant is locked inside the Hyatt hotel.

Great oysters and sushi - what a wonderful surprise. Interesting atmosphere with TVs everywhere. Terrible pizza, and the wait to be seated and get water was way too long. Great beyond vegan burger! Kids loved eating here.

Atmosphere is solid. Food was average. I got a burger, hard to mess up a burger. Sweet potato fries were not hot but yet somehow most of them were overcooked. They don't accept cash, which is a knock against any establishment in my opinion.
Daniel L — Google review
I’ve eaten here the past couple stays in New Orleans. The gumbo is pretty good for a hotel/restaurant bar and if I stay in the future would get the gumbo again. Skip the oysters, overpriced and way too small and the cheeseburger/po-boys. The drinks are pretty good.

Vitascope was a restaurant my mother and visited when we stayed at the Hyatt Regional Hotel. Now even though I loved the drinks and the sushi roll, I was not a fan of the desert. I’m not a fan of a mushy texture located in the middle of something.

Sushi restaurant
Viet Orleans Bistro is a Vietnamese restaurant serving a range of Asian dishes, alongside happy hours and TVs. It's a great place to start your trip to Louisiana, as the food is similar to what you would find in Vietnam. The banh mi was especially good, and you can't go wrong with sushi!
The restaurant is very clean, and feels trendy, that's actually my only knock on the atmosphere just a little too polished. Food was very good, the service was great. Constant attention. The sushi was fresh and tasted good. This was really a 4.7 but it's five or four so round up. The draft beer was a little warm for my taste. I was shocked at how few people were in the restaurant, but it was a nice change from most of the other places around it. I'll come back. If you don't know that eel sauce is the go to for sushi, all for a side, and thank me later.

Our overall experience was very good at VOB. Service was good, very few people were dining as we ate an early dinner. The sushi was good and seemed very fresh. The fried rice was a little different. Appeared to be a fried sushi rice and was sticky. Wasn't bad, just different. The Crab Rangoon was very good. Cleanliness was good. I would return for sushi only!

The food was good but the service was exceptional. My husband wanted pho after eating fried food all week. He was pleasantly surprised ans I absolutely loved my pork Banh MI. The place is super cute and relaxing. I'm glad we chose to eat here.

Great place for to go. Long day of drinking I was starving!! Ordered the Combo Pho to go just before they closed - right across from my fabulous hotel “the NOPSI”. Picked it up minutes later and the food was piping hot. Came in a to-go bowl. What was amazing was that the noodles & meat were in a separate layer/shelf — so didn’t get soaked in the pho. All the steak was in separate packet; and the greens were perfect. YES I finished the entire bowl. 🥣 I let my husband have a sip of the soup but I ate the rest. It was a perfect ending. Highly recommended.
D L — Google review
Food was okay not a lot of flavor especially the fried rice. Price was a bit high too but it is the only Vietnamese place in close distance and staff are nice. Still worth trying maybe the pho or pad Thais are great but the fried rice was underwhelming and so were the drumsticks.
Adati T — Google review
After one of our first nights in town, we felt like ordering in so we settled on some Vietnamese food. I had the chicken vermicelli, my boyfriend had the chicken stir fry noodles, & with sushi and egg rolls as appetizers. We were really happy with the portion sizes as well as everything tasting great as if we were at the bistro itself. The menu is simple yet has plenty of choices depending on what you're feeling up for.
Simran M — Google review
Randomly stopped by cause it was close to the hotel and the reviews had me worried. Immediately greeted and it’s a sit anywhere you want. Prompt service and friendly. The space is plentiful and it wasn’t very busy. I ordered Shrimp Spring Rolls and they were decent. Plenty of shrimp and the peanut sauce was good. Lot of noodle filling but I prefer mine with extra herbs anyway so low expectations there. Accompaniments were fresh slices jalapeños, bean sprouts, basil, cilantro and lime wedges. I ordered Rare Eye Round, Brisket and Meatball Pho. The rare eye round didn’t come out by itself .. it was already cooked well in the pho. The broth itself wasn’t as flavorful as I would prefer but after fixing it some, it really wasn’t bad. You get two meatballs cut into halves and the brisket was blah. I will visit again if I’m at the same hotel.

Solid Pho. Broth on the meaty side but good. Plenty of meat in the soup. I’m giving it an extra star for being the only noodle soup spot in the area. Good service. Nice spot and location

We had a disappointing experience at Daiwa. The waitress acted irritated from the start. I ordered a tuna and avocado sushi roll with cucumber, and she seemed confused, like we were speaking a different language. Later, I asked if they could make the vegetable tempura with thin noodles—a request they’ve accommodated before. She came back and said, “They said no.” When I explained we’ve had it that way in the past, she snapped, “Well, they just told me no.” We decided to end the meal and asked for the check. Instead of simply closing out, she went to the manager and falsely claimed we had given her the wrong order. The manager sided with her without hearing our side. We weren’t asking for anything free—just basic courtesy. Sadly, we didn’t even get that. Not worth returning.
K C — Google review
The food is decent, nothing special. Service is spotty at best and horrible if you are unlucky enough to get the rudest server ever employed in a restaurant. The dining room has alll the charm of a 7/11 store. After supporting this place for 17 years, I have just discovered Sakura and it blows Daiwa totally out of the water with better food, gracious service and a wonderful atmosphere. Try it, you'll be very pleased.

It is one of the best sushi 🍣 places on the westbank. Jackie is the best sushi chef and boss there is, and all the servers and waitresses are so pleasant and knowledgeable about everything. We really enjoy ourselves every time we go there. And the wagu steak is to die for so are the scallops.

I must say their fried rice is pretty good I also had the rock and roll sushi and it was pretty fresh We actually ate it two nights in a row. The rice does look bland when you first get it but add some soy sauce and it taste like you're at hibachi. They are a bit pricey but I guess it's because of all the fancy packaging and napkins. All together this meal was $18.18

The restaurant isn't very large but has a decent amount of tables and we've always been able to get a seat without making a reservation. We had the popular Cowboy roll that has cooked meat, steak and crawfish, YUM.. and we had a roll that wasn't on the menu called The Angel. When asking the waitress what her favorite was, she recommended it. The Black & Gold sake was delicious, it had a subtle taste and complimented the sushi well. Our waitress, Ana, was a doll. Absolute sweetheart.
Shontell F — Google review
I always have loved the food at Daiwa. I always recommend it to my friends who visit the westbank. But I'm getting frustrated by their process on how they seat their guests. Both of my last two visits had issues with long wait times even when there are multiple open tables. What happened on Saturday - I get there at 8 pm, it's busy but there are three table tops open (2 four tops and 1 double) and only three people sitting at the sushi bar. My friend and I told the host we would be okay going to the sushi bar because they have open seats. She told us she could not sit us because other people with larger parties who came before us were waiting and they had to seat them first before letting us go to the open seats at the sushi bar!? I didn't understand that because we were going to the bar and not one of the tables they needed to use for the large group... Didn't make sense to me. We actually ran into two family members and decided to eat together so one four top. Still ended up waiting 30 minutes, which honestly isn't terribly long, but the fact that there were open table tops while we just sat there was annoying (and they were still open when they sat us at a booth). Maybe their management needs to refocus on the Marrero location and not just Metarie.

Jazz Sushi Bar is a cozy Japanese restaurant located in a food court by the pier. It offers standard rolls and hot dishes at reasonable prices, with rolls ranging from $8 to $15. The sushi bar has limited seating but provides generous portions of fresh sashimi. While it may take some time for the food to be served due to limited staff, the quality of the sushi makes up for it.
Delicious fresh sushi. The lady there can make some dang good rolls! On top of all that, it’s affordable. There are some items not on the menu but if you voice what you want to the chef, she will happily oblige. Great service as well. I’d highly recommend if you are in/around New Orleans!

This is a small cut out at the food court by the pier. I reccomend parking in paid parking, going right, and the straight until you hit the rail tracks. Don't cross! Go up the stairs to your left. It's located in the "Jax Brewery" . Single employee working and just has the service of any food court. Rolls are $8-$15. Cheapest roll I could find was $7.99. Poke bowls are $12 and there are just a handful of options. I read there was a lunch special, that is not true. Or at least I couldn't find it anywhere, and the employee said the prices are the same all day. I got the grill fish for $7.99 Bourbon street for $8.50 And Rainbow roll for $11.99 Plenty of seating and no line when I was there. (Tuesday at 2pm) Food took about 15 minutes. I did not see a wheel chair/stroller friendly entrance anywhere. Rolls were a little sloppy, not tight. The rainbow roll and grilled fish roll had too much sauce/soy sauce. Overall very yummy and I would come again Accessibility ♿️: 0/5 Kid friendly: 1/5 lots of room for them to run around, but there were a lot of stairs, no high chairs, not good changing area, no kids menu. Even just a side of rice was like $5

I got the lunch special with a veggie roll and a spicy salmon roll which was $13.99. The cucumber salad was around $6 I think. Definitely reasonably priced and the quality was better than expected. Good Time Sushi is a sushi and hibachi restaurant that cleverly disguises itself as a shedlike structure. It offers a variety of special rolls and cooked meals, which are always fresh and well presented. The service may not be exceptional, but it is sufficient. The staff is friendly and understanding, even when accidents happen. However, it's important to note that waiting for food can be quite common, especially during busy times or near closing time when they receive numerous takeout orders.
I have never had the full dine in experience. I have only ordered, to go. I will tell you that even with a to go order - that the attention to detail is on point. I honestly don't feel like I am missing out by dining, in house. The quality and taste of the sushi is clean tasting while being excellently prepared. Fish to rice ratio excellent....seaweed minimal chew. JUST DELICIOUS!!! Fresh, Fresh, Fresh.....check out the shrimp tempura appetizer!!! A meal on it's own.

I LOVE this place. The Crazy Dog Roll is the best. And the Squid Salad. Mom likes the bento box. I eat here every time I visit New Orleans! The fish is always fresh and well presented. The service is lackluster, but adequate. The staff is very nice, they were very understanding when my toddler knocked over 2 glasses of water during our meal. You will wait for your food, so don't go there with limited time. It's usually abt 20/25 mins, but once we waited 45 for takeout. They get super swamped with to go orders. especially near closing time.

Amazing place. Seriously the best I’ve found in New Orleans. I’ve eaten sushi all over the world and am so glad I found Russel and good time sushi! I buy some good Saki (like tyku or ochinokura) from rouses on the way and they heat it up for you and serve it elegantly in pottery. Get the baby octopus or the uni (Russell might need to order it for you), and the raw Canadian shrimp is amazing as well. The yellowtail sashimi is amazing, as is his special avocado salmon sashimi wrap (pictured). I’d give 6 stars if I could. Adding some notes on 4/20/18. This place is still consistently amazing. I sit at the sushi bar when I come so my service is slower than average but still quite good. Be patient, it’s soooooo worth it. Adding new pics as well.

Customers praise the delicious food, friendly service, and pleasant atmosphere. Many recommend trying the agedashi tofu, edamame beans, seaweed salad, salmon avocado roll, and Fire Pot Soup. This is my second time here in 3 days. The food is beyond exceptional. I love sushi and went to 4 different restaurants in 5 days. There was something to satisfy every sushi craving. The presentation was exquisite, with each piece of fish expertly sliced and arranged. As I took my first bite, the freshness and melt-in-your-mouth texture of the fish was undeniable. The ingredients were top-notch, and the rice was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Service was super friendly. The salmon avocado roll was really good. And the Fire Pot Soup was the best soup I have ever had in my entire life. Definitely recommend going here

The rice isn't Chinese rice, it's just yellow rice. It's not crab meat, it's hearts of palm. I only counted 6 shrimp (it's real). I also ordered a vegetable mix that had a good amount of broccoli, some carrot and mushroom chips, and that was it.

Oishii Sushi House in is a great sushi spot on the West Bank that is perfect for a quick bite or full meal. The server was attentive and the prices were reasonable. The miso soup and Algiers Roll were both delicious!
I usually go to Daiwa for sushi on the Westbank, but they are still not doing dine in on the Westbank location, only the Metarie location. So Oushii was recommended to me by my cousin and this place did not disappoint. It's a small restaurant, really has a family run restaurant vibe. There are maybe only 10 tables total and the sushi bar to sit. We went for lunch, there are only five table tops and one waitress working the whole place. She was very quick and took care of all the tables efficiently. The jalapeño poppers were so good, must try. The rolls were all so good, they have a generous size of fish inside and on top of the rolls and not a lot of rice. We had the tiger roll, LSU roll, and Hawaiian roll. I would be back here for sure, want to try other rolls!

Excellent service and the rolls are on point. You won't leave this place hungry, with that said. Their rolls are massive and very cheap. The photos sometimes don't do justice, so picture this. The roll is almost as long as your forearm and as round as a silver dollar. I forgot to mention that's only for the special rolls. Cheers enjoy!

If you're on the hunt for a fantastic sushi experience without breaking the bank, look no further than Tokyo Sushi House. From their mouthwatering sushi rolls to standout options like General Tso chicken and hot and sour soup, every bite is a celebration of flavor.

I feel like Ester Rolle on Good Times!!!! Da*n, Da*n, Da*n!!!! This is how you DO!!! Hot and Sour Soup!!! 🍲🤤🤤🤤🤤 I am tapping my feet in the living room, happy dance... SMDH!!! The mushrooms were so fresh that the were dancing, floating on the underneath of top of the lid....a sign of freshness. The ribbons of egg 🥚 within the soup were beautiful strands not chopped up pieces of eggs. The vinegar and chili 🌶️ were in perfect balance....OMG....!!! The bamboo shoots were whole slices, not chopped up not sure particles within the soup. I am particular when it comes to soup...this soup did not have the wood ear or black fungus. I will tell you, it was noticed but not missed. I have tried the seaweed salad, squid salad, and the shrimp and broccoli lunch special...all very delicious. Today my one purchased shined...try the Hot 🔥 and Sour Soup.

Nobu - Caesars New Orleans offers a delightful dining experience with a true taste of New Orleans hospitality. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, perfect for any celebration or a fun night out with friends. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that guests have everything they need.
Everything was very fine, but I will be dreaming about the Black Miso Cod for the rest of my life. Tender and flavorful, it is the best entree I’ve ever had. The jalapeno shrimp tempura was tender and the breading was perfect. The spicy tuna with crispy rice was interesting, but not spicy (speaking as a native New Orleanian.) Everything we had was interesting, and I’m very glad we went. The service was 5 stars and the ambiance is beautiful. When I return, I will be ordering the Black Miso cod, the spicy Shrimp tempura, and the jalapeno cauliflower.

this location is exceptional. we were a party of 8 with no reservation on a thursday night, and the staff was able to accommodate our party immediately with multiple options for seating. the food was fantastic, and the waiter was extremely knowledgeable and attentive towards one person in our group who has a gluten allergy, making sure she was able to enjoy her dishes while knowing they’re safe to eat! the cocktails, especially the lychee martini was delicious. highly recommend.

We stopped in around 830pm on a Monday. Sat at the bar. Very pretty place. Quiet. Didn’t feel like we were in a casino. Ordered my traditional Kettle One, soda, and lime cocktail and it was delicious. So much better than anywhere else-must be the soda water they use. We were peckish so started our mini-meal with the truly minuscule but delicious tacos. Then the rock shrimp tempura; delicious! Then the Skull Island prawns in the spicy sauce. Perfectly cooked, peeled easily, perfection! Nobu is not cheap. 2 alcoholic beverages, the food, and tip was ard $150. But definitely a fantastic experience. We’re so happy Nobu is in our city!

Everything was hot and delicious. Our waitress Kristen was amazing as well as our busboy. They really made my birthday a night to remember. We tried a variety of dishes, and they all were impressive. Unforgettable Culinary Journey at Nobu Caesars Horseshoe Our evening at Nobu Caesars Horseshoe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth by Manager Luis and Supervisor Latoya. The table setup was ideal for our group of six, creating a comfortable and intimate setting. Head Server Victor truly elevated our experience. He took the time to understand our preferences and offered us the choice between selecting our own dishes or enjoying a curated menu. We opted for the curated route, and it turned out to be an inspired decision. Victor thoughtfully incorporated our desire to experience the A5 Wagyu, and it was seamlessly woven into the menu—an absolute highlight. Assistant Servers Theodore and Elysa were attentive and gracious throughout the evening, ensuring every detail was handled with care. The service was synchronized and thoughtful, enhancing every moment. The culinary journey was exceptional from start to finish. Each dish was a revelation, and the desserts were no exception—they delighted every palate at the table and quickly became favorites among our group. This was more than just a dinner—it was a personalized, luxurious experience that we’ll be talking about for a long time. We will absolutely return and recommend Nobu Caesars Horseshoe to anyone seeking a refined and memorable dining adventure

Our first time trying Nobu and we will definitely be back. Our waitress Kristen was so helpful and delightful. She recommended a great variety of delicious food that did not disappoint. The sushi starters that were recommended were fresh and delicious. The black cod was spectacular as well as the Australian lamb chops. Save room for dessert and try the baked Alaska. You won't be sorry.
G S — Google review
I’m updating my rating from 4 to 2 because my second visit was such a disappointment. I returned because the Wagyu was so delicious the 1st time. On the 2nd visit, I ordered the same amount and the portion was 1/3 the size of the first time. It also was tough and not tender and tasty like the first time. I feel like it was such a waste of money. I’ll never dine here again. Previous Review: I recently dined at Nobu as a treat to myself and my mom! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the lighting (or lack thereof) helps to set a relaxing mood. Let me preface by saying the food was absolutely delicious! Service and the time to get the food was very slow however. Also, some guys (seemed like management) were talking to the table next to us. It seemed business related, but it put a damper on our experience because they were so close to us and so loud. I feel like they should have been more considerate of the surrounding customers, so that was a turnoff. Now back to the food, we started with the Caesar Salad w/Wasabi Truffle Dressing….amazing! Next were the Crispy Okra and Crispy Fish Tacos. Both were delicious! The tacos were about two bites each so don’t expect a large portion. They were definitely worth it however! This was a total splurge meal so we ordered the Wagyu on Hot Stone! Oh my goodness, this was the best thing I’ve ever had in my life. The Wagyu melted in my mouth. There was a 4 ounce minimum for the hot stone and it was a larger portion than I expected. We had the Crispy Rice Avocado to accompany the Wagyu and it was the perfect choice. Finally, we ended with the Baked Alaska which was so yummy. Oh yeah, I had a cocktail as well. I can’t remember the name but I wasn’t impressed with it. Minus the cocktail and service, I can’t wait for my next visit!

While some diners have noted minor issues with cleanliness and food quality, others have been thoroughly impressed by the warm ambiance, prompt seating, and tasty cuisine.

Lunch time with Co-workers. The place is comfortable and the Service was awesome. The food was just ok. Had the shrimp tempura lunch, didn't really enjoy it (too greesy), the rice was delicious though. Also had the Boston sushi roll, it was good. I would go back to try something different. All over I give them a 4 out of 5.

It was ok. I had the spicy tuna roll and crawfish wontons. I did like the wontons as I'd never had them before. The spicy tuna was just ok. I'm new to the area and have had better in other states. I'll keep trying other sushi places. I did not dine in, so I can't speak to the service or atmosphere.

I stopped here to eat quietly...this place was perfect for that, not crowded. But the food... Idk, fast food sushi. My crawfish wasn't fresh ...it had no taste as well as the contents appeared to be precooked ...pre fried.... Defeating the entire purpose of sushi I came for. Definitely won't be back. Plating is beautiful... presentation but... It's missing the freshness. However menu is plentiful with options in the sushi section. Tempura was too crispy u get thru the cornflake to the actual vegetable. My review may be " what" butt when you are used to certain quality...it's hard to get low basics and smile. This was 35.00 I didn't eat or enjoy and left it all in a take home.

This is the worst hibachi I’ve ever had. The rice was gummy, the shrimp hibachi was underwhelming and then drowned in the most saltiest sauce I’ve ever tasted. Sushi was fine. This hibachi menu needs to be taken off the menu if you’re looking to cut food costs. This sucked. Salad had no dressing.

We were looking for a spot to have dinner and decided to give this spot a try. I was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance was bright and warm and welcoming. We were greeted upon entry and seated immediately, we were given the choice of a table or booth, we chose the booth. Unlike other restaurants, where you can tell someone ate before you, our booth was super clean. As soon as a diner exits they clean the table really well. The food was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Everything was served hot and everything was fresh and not greasy at all. Oh and the sushi tastes good. I'm not a fan of sushi so that's a lot coming from me. Their plating was beautiful too. I definitely have to visit Tennou Sushi Bar again. 10/10 recommend

Hangout Ramen offers a variety of ramen bowls served with corn, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, fish cakes, egg, green onion, and seaweed sheets. The Spicy Bang Bang Ramon features tender pork belly and a light broth that could use more spice. Despite a slight sewer smell upon entering the restaurant, the service is fast and friendly. The $10 lunch specials are worth trying and the food is served quickly in decent portions.
We live in a time where it almost feel’s as if people are losing their integrity to uphold their reputation when it comes to restaurants. Hangout Ramen went above and beyond to make sure our delivery order was taken care of after we were missing some items. The food is absolutely delicious and you can taste the quality in their ingredients. If there’s a mistake they make things right and let me tell you their customer service is by far one of the best I’ve ever seen. I appreciate it so much and the food is 1000/10!!! Highly recommend if you’re seeking quality over quantity. Thank you Hangout Ramen for having pride in what you do. You all are a gem in a world that seems to be overran by coal. Our food was done quickly and, like all ramen spots, was a decently sized portion. We went for lunch to get the lunch special. The waitress was a little confused at first and wanted to charge one of our bowls for regular price until I pointed out that she only gave us the lunch special menu so what we picked was in fact a lunch special. She fixed it, and we were charged the right price. It was a reasonable price as well. The Japanese sodas are in cute bottles but are $5 for a small portion, so I do suggest getting something like Sprite or root beer for $3. My spicy bang bang ramen wasn't spicy whatsoever, and I'm not sure if it's because they thought I couldn't handle spice (this happens to me often as a black american) or because I'm so used to eating super spicy food. We asked for chili oil, and it was fine. We should've asked for 2 because we had to share between the 4 of us, and I wanted it extra spicy. The food came out pretty quickly, and it was delicious. They were also playing really good music the entire time, and the decorations were pretty. We chose this ramen spot for my birthday before we fully decided that we were coming to NOLA, so we had high expectations of this place, and they did not disappoint.

Brought my elderly Japanese mom for lunch because Nobuko is a Japanese name. I was trying to find Japanese restaurant that actually serves authentic Japanese food. Nobuko is more of a Chinese restaurant trying to make sushi. We both ordered shrimp tempura bento box, and were disappointed. The california roll was not made using sushi rice. The shrimp tempura was fried with very thick batter, and came with sweet/sour sauce instead of tempura sauce. Egg rolls & fried rice are not usually part of any bento box in authentic Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been. The fried rice was bland; no taste. Dirty goldfish tank inside front entrance with green algae, and gaudy ceiling decor. Would have rated “0” if that option was available; rated “1” only because the miso soup was good, and mom liked the eggroll. We will not be returning.

Kenji Omakase: A Culinary Journey That Transcends Sushi An Intimate, Modern Ambiance Stepping into Kenji Omakase, it immediately struck us how the restaurant blended a private atmosphere with a modern aesthetic. The design is refined—eschewing any hint of overdone hipness or tackiness—in favor of a space that feels both intimate and sophisticated. With only a select group of diners (around 9–11 people) sharing the experience, it was clear that the focus was entirely on delivering personalized service and culinary excellence. A Symphony of Flavors: The Omakase Experience The omakase menu was nothing short of a culinary symphony, featuring a range of meticulously prepared dishes: Seafood Selections: From the delicate Kusshi Oyster and Madai sashimi to the robust flavors of hamachi crudo and ishidai, each dish was a celebration of freshness and quality. Fish Varieties: The sequence continued with shima aji, sawara, kanpachi, and kurodai, each prepared to highlight the natural taste of the fish without overwhelming them with heavy sauces or gimmicky dressings. Standout Dishes: Particularly impressive were the Ora King salmon and toro, both of which hit all the right notes. Even the hotate (scallop), which I usually associate with a more pronounced fishy flavor, was transformed into a sublime, almost unrecognizable treat—its preparation so perfect that any hint of the usual brininess was completely absent. The Grand Finale: A handroll featuring tuna, toro, and uni rounded off the main course, leaving an indelible mark on our palates. Each plate was artfully dressed with just the right touch of aged soy sauce and freshly grated wasabi. This minimalist yet effective approach allowed the high-quality ingredients to truly shine. It was refreshing to experience sushi that wasn’t masked by overpowering sauces—each bite was an exploration of flavor and texture that made me appreciate what true culinary craftsmanship looks like. Engaging, Personable Service What set Kenji Omakase apart wasn’t just the impeccable food, but the overall experience. Unlike many omakase settings where diners feel like silent observers, here the chefs actively engaged with us. They shared insights about their training, discussed their philosophies on how sushi is evolving, and even took time to explain the rationale behind the precise dressing of each dish. This level of personalization transformed a simple dinner into an interactive culinary journey. It wasn’t merely about eating; it was about connecting with the craft and the passionate individuals behind it. A Toast to Perfect Pairings and Sweet Surprises Our beverage choices were as thoughtfully curated as the food. I opted for the spiced margarita—a robust, well-balanced cocktail that played delightfully against the subtle flavors of the sushi. My partner’s choice, the yuzu 75, offered a zesty, refreshing contrast that perfectly complemented her palate. Although an optional sake pairing was available for $70 per person, which we decided to share, the cocktails proved to be a delightful stand-alone experience. As if the evening needed any further enhancement, a surprise pistachio crème beignet was presented at the end, accompanied by a warm cup of tea. This unexpected treat was the perfect conclusion to our meal—a sweet, comforting note that left us both with bright smiles and a sense of fulfillment. A Benchmark for Future Dining Experiences By the end of the night, it was clear that Kenji Omakase had redefined what a 5-star dining experience should be. While the exquisite food alone might have earned a solid 4 out of 5, it’s the extra mile—the warm interactions, the perfectly timed surprises, and the overall thoughtful presentation—that elevated our experience to a full 5. For those who believe that dining out is about more than just the food on the plate, Kenji Omakase offers a masterclass in how to captivate and enchant every sense.

This place is the bomb. It's probably the best omakase I have had outside of Japan. Amazing sushi with local flavors makes it a unique experience. The talent of Chef Tu, along with his awesome personality and mastery of combining the fish with local and traditional flavors, is not to be missed. This has become one of our favorite omakase restaurants in the world. The entire team was excellent and a shout out to Gabriel. We will definitely be back.

This was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. The journey the chefs brought us on as well as the presentation and energy they had was great. It just kept getting better and better. The cocktails were great and the add-ons for the dishes were worth it!

Tried the omakasi. It was exceptional. Little pricy but that was expected. They have five Japanese beers. Try them in order. The fifth beer has fish flakes in the ingredients.

What an experience! We met with some friends for the Omakase menu and it was well worth the cost. With this, you get 12 or 15 different sashimi options. Each were so delectable and tasted Ike the best quality. They presented about 3 of the 12 at a time so you were not overloaded with a big platter. Highly recommend if you like the raw type. Our server was fantastic and knew every single item that was placed on the table. Cocktails were so good as well and I recommend their off menu rum drink. Decor inside is cozy and modern but very inviting. Don’t sleep on the apps as well and you MUST get the Brussels! We will be back very soon! P.S. catch happy hour for specials on Brussels and you better get the crispy rice trio!

From start to finish, my experience at this omakase was nothing short of exceptional. The chef’s skill and passion were evident in every dish as each piece was beautifully balanced. They even gave a complimentary strawberry beignet, which was so delicious. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Service was excellent. Food was delicious atmosphere was great. We didn’t have a reservation. It was spur of the moment, but we will be back to try the chef kiss list❣️

This restaurant blew me away 👍🏻👍🏻 The brussel sprouts and shishito peppers were perfect. And the sushi was great. Located in the CBD New Orleans. I can’t wait to go back. A great vibe. Follow: Dining with Dyanne

Mizu Sushi Bar & Asian Fusion is an excellent choice for those seeking authentic sushi and sashimi. The staff, led by Jennifer, is welcoming and attentive, while also crafting the finest lemon drop martinis. Their steak tartar bursts with freshness and flavor, showcasing their commitment to quality ingredients. What sets them apart even further is their use of real crab meat in their delectable crab Rangoon.
The absolute best sushi experience I have had this year! All the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, and each dish was fresh and fantastically prepared. We will be back!

Went for dinner on a Saturday night around 6p. I got the hot and sour soup, made to order and two rolls. A spicy tuna and dynamite roll. Service was quick. I'd eat there again. 8 pieces per roll for the two I got.

I’m from Mississippi and Love sushi. Their service and Atmosphere was good. The food however was not what I have been accustomed to. The tuna was tough as well as the salmon in my roll. Will I eat there again, probably not.

My wife and I heard good things about about this sushi place. We decided to stop for an early dinner. Place had 2 other guests and we were able to choose where to sit. Was promptly greeted and we got our drinks. My wife had the sunshine roll and I had the red October. Both were ok and were displayed nicely.

Although I did not take many photos, everything was fantastic! Sushi, sashimi, beef udon, crab Rangoon: all fantastic!
Matthew S — Google review
Love this place, their food is super fresh and tastes amazing. I used to get the chicken katsu roll from Sake Don until they closed in 2020. I have not found anywhere in the city that makes it. This place helps me get what is close to that by ordering a veggie roll and sesame chicken bites. They allow me to customize a roll without ridiculously overpriced substitution fees. The alien roll and the BBQ eel roll are a must. On previous visits I've had the tempura veggies, great choice, and the gyozas are perfect. I can't think of anything bad to say about this place. Reasonably priced, clean, fresh, delicious food, and friendly service, even to a weirdo like me that orders chicken with sushi.

Great place for authentic sushi and sashimi. Jennifer our server was super friendly an attentive, plus she makes the best lemon drop martini. The steak tartar was very fresh and delicious. The crab Rangoon, get this, uses actual real crab meat. The miso soup was so creamy and super tasted. This place is unjustified under the radar clearly this place is in the top five sushi places in the area. We will be back!

I'll start by saying this place is amazing! I've already been here 4 times since it's opened. The staff is very friendly, courteous and quick. It's a very nice atmosphere that you don't expect in the heart of elmwood. This is actually a gem! The sushi rolls are amazing and fresh. The lunch specials are definitely worth it! It's always a plus that the staff recognizes you've been there before and provide excellent service! Psssssst try the miso soup.. it's GOod Soup!

Nestled in the vibrant Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans, Nagomi is a unique gem that offers an unforgettable omakase dining experience. This exclusive restaurant invites guests to surrender their culinary journey to the skilled hands of chefs Kaz and Eli, who craft each dish with precision and creativity. The atmosphere is lively yet intimate, making it perfect for both celebrations and casual evenings alike.
Ate here last night. Simply put, this is the best sushi I have ever had in my life. Six courses, paired with saki. Reservation was for 7:00. After all 14 were seated, nobody was allowed in. Omakase style, meaning the Chef selected all six courses, and we trusted his choices. The best was the yellow fin tuna belly, but all courses (prepared in front of us) were amazing. Service was perfect, as Elijah (Eli) hosted and served. Off street parking on Burgundy in the Bywater. Possibly our best meal in New Orleans, like, ever. Thank you Chef Kaz (spelling?) and Elijah.

The kind of place you must go at least once in your life! Truly the best sushi I’ve ever had, and one of my favorite dining experiences. The fish, the sake, the atmosphere, the people - all amazing. Served omakase. Elijah and Kaz are performers at heart, and they’ve been given the gift of preparing incredible fish. Can’t recommend enough!
Chris A — Google review
I was expecting good food, but this was unbelievable. Five stars it’s not nearly enough. The surprise of these was how much fun and how enjoyable the chefs made the experience. The explanation of the dishes and the incredible attention to detail make the night so memorable! All of the different dishes allowed the flavors of the fish to come through with nice blends of Japanese textures and flavors with a modern possibly American profile occasionally. I’m not that great of a photographer so I apologize that my photos don’t do Nagomi justice.

Gotta love this place. We had such an amazing time. We went with 4 couples and brought our little baby boy. He got alot of attention as almost everything we ate. They made a mini version of it for my 1 years old. So beautifully handcrafted. Now mind you I don't eat fish. Well... I ate everything that was served and it didn't taste fishy. I been that person that just never liked fish until now. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Out of this world. We had so many bottle of liquor down to they even compliment us one on the house. This is one experience I will never forget and it was very personal. Will absolutely be back and recommend this to others.

The food, the atmosphere, the service all amazing. Every dish is masterfully and thoughtfully put together by Chef Kaz. Every bite was the kind where you close your eyes and savor it. Elijah, the waiter is amazing and very attentive. Truly a treat to dine here.

Hands down one of the best omakase experience in NOLA. Chef Kaz set a great pace with each course. They have a very well curated selection of sake. The space and ambience was great. Definitely coming back as many times as I can.
John N — Google review
We ate here tonight and I am in awe. I did not take any pictures because having your phone out feels like it would ruin the experience. This was like an art exhibit with food. The food was absolutely delicious from the very first serving, surprisingly getting better with each course. Something I did not know was possible being the first course was better than anything I ever tasted. Hosting 16 people Chef Kaz and Elijah kicked ass and made the experience one I will not forget and one I want to experience again. Watching Chef Kaz masterfully craft each dish as you eat the previous one, was absolutely mesmerizing. With every bite you instinctively close your eyes and get transported to a world of flavors in your mouth. Elijah has the most welcoming warm charm that made service feel grand. 1000/10 I recommend. Everything about this experience was exceptional and delightful. These two men absolutely killed it. Thank you for an out of this world experience.

Little Tokyo Restaurant offers great value and large rolls, making it a perfect spot for a satisfying meal. Despite some mixed reviews about the friendliness of the staff, their efficiency in serving customers is commendable. The menu features delicious options like seafood cucumber salad, edamame, jalapeno poppers with a Japanese twist, solid ramen, and generously portioned maki rolls. The restaurant's surprising quality surpasses expectations of a typical fast-food joint.
Hidden gems are the dinner combos and the special chef salad. Black Jack roll is also great! Honestly, such a vibe.

Generous amount of foods which includes sushi, sashimi, main course, with soup and salad. Great tasting and mosr of all very affordable. I highly recommend this sushi place in Metairie.
Rosella D — Google review
First time here, and it was ok. The sushi rolls( I can not remember one of them, but the other was a mystery roll) were ok but not great. The appetizer jalapeño poppers was delicious. The myso ramen was delicious. The shrimp gyoza soup was ok. The gyoza was delicious, but the broth was just ok. The shrimp shumai was delicious. I didn't care for the waitress. She seemed to be in a rush, or she was very impatient. She is definitely not the person for a customer who has questions. She answered what I asked, but her actions showed differently. The pics are the two sushi rolls. The light color one is the mystery roll. There were more on the plate. I had forgotten to take the pic before I started eating. The other one, I forgot what it was called. The other picture is the jalapeño poppers. I didn't take a pic of the ramen because I forgot. The gayoza soup wasn't anything but broth 3 gyozas and some green onions. The shrimp shumai, I will up load a pic later. All in all, it wasn't that bad not to visit again, but it wouldn't be the first choice for the sushi rolls.

The food here is quick and amazing 😍. Try the spectrum of different sushi 🍣 and soups they are all very tasty. When you sit down at the sushi bar you get a refreshing salad 🥗 with seaweed and lettuce with ginger nom nom dressing. The menu is huge and extremely good!

We ordered the yakisoba with beef. The beef has no flavor and super tough.

This place is so great we went back twice in a row!! The food is amazing and the portions are giant! Two of us split two sushi rolls and barely finished them. The yakiudon dish can also easily feed two people on its own. The staff is very friendly and very happy to see us come back. Make this your next stop; you won't regret it.

December 2021. Updated review. It’s still good as hell. Would come back again. See previous post. November 2020. Hello babes. Little Tokyo, a Japanese restaurant, serves some banging sushi 🍣🍱 and a variety of Japanese cuisine. This place, hands down, serves the biggest and most fresh sushi and fish 🐟 that I have ever tasted 👅🤤. Like these pictures I’ve attached don’t do it justice - you literally need to go try it out for yourself to see how big the pieces are. For a size reference, it was big as my clenched first... but yeah, it’s been so long so I don’t remember the names of the 🍣 rolls but you can take a look at them. The speciality rolls are a little bigger and pricier ($12-$16 range I believe), but well worth the money. Ugh, the food was so good I literally jazzed 💦. Stop eating through my post and go support the business!! Enjoy 😙

Big menu. Quick service. Tasty sushi. But slow to clear plates as they were emptied. Literally moved empty plates to the side to make room for more. Had to ask them after several visits to our table to remove the empties. Otherwise not to bad. Restaurant was not busy at all.

I have never physically been in the restaurant but I do order through door dash. I’ve ordered from here at least 2 times and it’s been good each time. The rolls are nice size and portioned well. Just wish they gave more sauce on the roll. In the two times I’ve ordered, I get the fried salmon roll.

Guy P — Google review
Haven't been to a restaurant to dine in since last year before the pandemic shut down. I asked my husband to bring me for lunch at Umi 2 for my birthday since the food is great. Ordered so much for two people since it is hard to pick because it all tastes delicious. For appetizer we had fried calamari and the vegetable tempura. For main course got the Donbury, both beef and chicken. Donbury is my favorite dish to order. Between both, I would say Beef Donbury is better. The beef is tender, dish is well seasoned and the egg scrambled makes it perfect. Ask for sriracha and chili oil to eat this dish with. Also wanted to try their beef udon soup. Was really impressed with it. The soup was very flavorful and had lots of vegetables and sliced beef. Really enjoyed it all. Umi 2 has good quality food for reasonable price. Definitely will want to come again.
