Restaurant
Coop's Place is a beloved Cajun restaurant located in the heart of the historic French Quarter, offering affordable and mouthwatering seafood dishes and cocktails in a laid-back atmosphere. Since 1983, this 21-and-over establishment has been serving up some of New Orleans' best fried chicken seasoned with their original Bayou Blend.
I walked in casually without high expectations, but it quickly impressed me. It was actually my first meal in the city and set an excellent tone for the rest of the trip. The Jambalaya Supreme was the standout: rich, hearty, and bursting with flavor. The Catfish and Crawfish Dinner was equally satisfying—both dishes were well-seasoned, cooked to perfection, and served in generous portions. If you’re visiting New Orleans, this place is definitely worth a stop.

A True New Orleans Gem! Coop’s Place is one of those spots that feels like a hidden gem in the heart of the French Quarter. It’s got that old-school bar vibe—dark, gritty, and full of character—and I loved every minute of it. It’s definitely different in the best way. The food was phenomenal. I had the pork chop, and it was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The red beans and rice were some of the best I’ve had—rich, hearty, and full of that New Orleans soul. The service was friendly, and our waitress was especially nice and welcoming. It just had that authentic, laid-back charm that makes you feel at home. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. Coop’s Place is the place to be, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great local experience.
Omar — Google review
Coop’s Place is a lively French Quarter dive with bold Cajun-Creole flavors. The crawfish étouffée is rich and flavorful, and the fried chicken is crispy and satisfying. Expect generous portions, fair prices, and quick, no-nonsense service. Great for casual eats, not fine dining.
Eisset ( — Google review
Coop’s Place has a fantastic atmosphere — laid-back, lively, and full of local charm. It’s the perfect spot to soak up authentic New Orleans vibes while enjoying delicious food. I loved their blackened redfish po’ boy with French fries—perfectly seasoned fish, fresh bread, and crispy fries on the side—it was so tasty! The shrimp salad and pork chops also tasted great! The rabbit and sausage jambalaya and seafood gumbo were also packed with authentic Creole flavor. The staff is friendly, in a no-nonsense, New Orleans kind of way, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. If you want delicious local food in a fun, casual setting, you can’t go wrong with Coop’s Place. I highly recommend it!
David J — Google review
Man, let me tell you — Coop’s is one of the best little spots in New Orleans! I can’t eat seafood, so I let the server know, and she didn’t miss a beat. She recommended the chicken, told me it’s cooked in its own grease, and said it would be the best thing I could have. And she wasn’t lying — that chicken was to die for! Juicy, flavorful, cooked just right — honestly the best chicken I’ve had in a long time. My friend had a great meal too, so everything coming out of that kitchen is on point. If you’re in New Orleans, do yourself a favor and check out Coop’s. This is the spot — you won’t regret it!
Patrick P — Google review
Coop's Place is an solid establishment, for the new Orleans fan fare I had the gumbo and jambalaya. Pro tip you gotta put that filthy gumbo on top of the jambalaya for the best results. Cocktails 🍸 absolute gems, get the absinthe laced one to start your Nola journey correctly. Would definitely come again
Iggy M — Google review
This is a chill real authentic NOLA spot. It has its own charm and appeal. The smoked duck quesadilla was good, not a fan on sweet sauce, but next time Ill get that on the side. Trust me its me, I'm not the savory sweet mixy type of person. The fried chicken was the start of the show for me, seasoned, savory and the perfect amount of crisp! Good food and great service, will always be top tier for me.
Errica S — Google review
I was turned on to this place by locals in r/askNOLA and I was NOT disappointed. This was the best food we had in NOLA. I got the taste plate and quickly realized I should've done a full meal of jambalaya. The wife got fried chicken, that was great too. Next day we went back. I got the jambalaya and she got a cajun pasta. I liked the cajun pasta even more! Place is a must-try in your quest for the best creole. As far as ambiance, yes it's a dark little dive bar, but don't be fold. Great people, great food!

Chicken restaurant
Restaurant
McHardy's Chicken & Fixin' is a popular spot known for its peppery fried chicken and classic soul food dishes. The 7th Ward restaurant, run by the Mogilles family, serves up juicy thighs heavily seasoned with a secret mix of spices, resulting in the crispiest skin and aromatic flavors. Despite its small space and fast-food vibe, this takeout-only shop offers high-quality, affordable fare that includes some of the tastiest fried chicken in town.
I ordered two legs a wing and a breast they gave me a thigh instead of two legs, but in spite of that this was very good fried chicken I got red beans with rice and the red beans was very authentic delicious New Orleans not a lot of spices, but you can always add that with spice. I was watching the french fries cooking and it looked at me like they were gonna get too dark so their grease was maybe old and needed to be thrown out. I have no idea how the fries are but the chicken and beans are great. I do have to say that the place smells really bad And I almost think the sanitation department should go over there because wow and a few restaurants in New Orleans have a weird smell like bleach on top of sewage kind of smell, but the look of the place outside is fantastic. It looks like it was some other kind of store that got converted into the chicken place. All these things are promised of good chicken and in this case it actually is good. I prefer Hank’s for chicken tenders, but for real chicken this place gets the prize.
Rickie J — Google review
McHardy's is arguably one of the top three fried chicken spots in town; it’s sometimes our favorite. However, I'm deducting one star for inconsistency. Tip: Call in your order 30 minutes before you pick it up. On our most recent visit, Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, around 3:30-4 PM, we waited 40 minutes for two chicken breasts and sides. Fried chicken usually takes 20 minutes when cooked to order, and they were busy with customers waiting. Despite some of the other reviews, we've always found the service to be friendly. This time, our chicken had a hint of fried fish. The mashed potatoes, although homemade, were too salty. The dirty rice was pretty good, and the red beans and rice were great. I hope this was an isolated incident. Next time, will go on a weekday and skip the sides, except for the red beans and rice.

Was my first time visiting and will be my last. The cashier made me feel like I was being rushed to place an order. Of course it's gonna take a lil longer to scan the menu if it's my first time. Anyways, I got fried catfish. Catfish was so bland, I've never tasted catfish so nasty.. and the menu claims it's crispy, yet I still had to come home and air fry it to get the crisp I desire. Chicken was horrible and BLOODY as hell. Like come on man, this food not even edible!!!!! So disgusted because I literally hate spending MY money on nasty food, now I'm still hungry 🙄
Goddess A — Google review
People very unfriendly. No one greeted us just looked at us, until I finally broke the ice and started to order. Definition of I hate my job attitude. Despite their customer service, food was ok. Shrimp was bland as their personalities. Chicken was good.
Angelina S — Google review
In a town that throws down with some of the best seafood dishes - the second key category is fried chicken. McHardy’s is in the conversation for best fried chicken in New Orleans. The chicken is the star here, so let it shine. The onion rings are ASTRONOMICAL!
Chris C — Google review
Today July 30, 2024, Was The Worse @McHardy’s The cook for today was garbage food was half done and full of grease. And the cashier who is the black chick with the braids always has an attitude she never takes orders right.Btw I ask for mac & Cheese instead of fries
Li L — Google review
Omg best garlic Parmesan wings I have had in a long time! The wings are like a better version of Wingstop. I absolutely love them! The cluck sauce I use to dip my fries in sooo good. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious we will most definitely be back!!!!
Jaqwonna B — Google review
Omg!!! Mc Hardy’s does chicken. Not catfish… per my husband. I appreciate that they had something for him, but the flavor wasn’t the best, but decent! BACK to the chicken!!’ It was seasoned, but not salty!!! It was so good I ordered a larger box to go… when you order the $9 wing pieces combo they are small. But when I say the chicken was seasoned to perfection….it was cooked fresh to order. The Arnold Palmer was delicious.. Some of the fixins need fixin.. but I’d you stick to the chicken you will be in heaven.

Restaurant
McKenzie's Chicken in a Box has an interesting history, originally owned by a family in the bakery business. The establishment was not intended to become the best fried chicken spot in New Orleans, but rather to expand into a large chain similar to their 50-store bakery. Customers have expressed nostalgia upon visiting the store, reminiscing about its original displays and layout.
We came here for lunch, we ordered the whole chicken and side of fries, then went to the lakefront and devoured the delicious chicken like savages! The food was fresh and tasty. The staff were hustling and bustling to get orders out and moving efficiently to get customers in and out. Very good service here.
Leah M — Google review
Hands down the best fried chicken in New Orleans. As a professional chef I have been coast to coast and I’ve eatin fried chicken in every parish in Louisiana and they are just doing it better than everyone else when it comes to fried chicken. Their sides are decent but you fixin to need some hot sauce for the Mac n cheese. They been around a long time and they cook amazing food. You cannot beat the fried chicken. Service takes time because they are cooking real food ya hurd me. Sometimes they got a lil attitude on them but I’m down wit it. Love this place. The red beans could use some smoked sausage added to them but they are really good and creamy and full of flavor too.
Jacob G — Google review
Love this place. Been going for decades. Went to UNO in the 90s. My bus transfer was at Gentilly and Elysian Fields. I would get their chicken at least once every two weeks. MacKenzie's Chicken is one of my must dos. Living away now, I go out there every time I visit back. Just like Rocky & Carlo's, Frankie & Johnny's, Liuza's ...
Gareth S — Google review
The fried Okra, chicken Livers & fried chicken is what I buy when I visit. I like that they fry the chicken crispy. Depending on when you go ,it's always a wait for your food( cooked to order). Best thing is to call your order in. There is always a line.
Chissell R — Google review
True New Orleans original!!! Been around since forever and still banging out the cities classics like no other.
Joshua R — Google review
I took my mom there to pick up some fried chicken for lunch on a Friday after a friend told us about it. The next Monday she called up and asked me to bring her more of that amazing chicken. There's usually a line, so it's not a secret.
Benny ( — Google review
I’ve been going here for years and today was the worst . The chicken was hard you can tell it was refried , the cornbread was like rubber if u but something in the microwave to long. Well I want be going here no more…. The price went up and the wing got smaller..
Acendea B — Google review
McKenzie's use to be a bakery as well as selling chicken in a box. As of 2day, no more bakery mostly chicken, seafood, po-boys. Chicken is as good as ever & po-boys are delish. Take-out only!

Restaurant
Picnic Provisions & Whiskey is a charming picnic-inspired spot located near Audubon Park. They offer a daily happy hour with delectable options like smoked fish dip and pimento cheese. Their spicy fried chicken sandwich, seasoned with crawfish boil spices, is a standout item on the menu. The cozy decor and outdoor games add to the overall charm of this themed restaurant.
Best fried chicken in Nola. The boil batter is amazing. Loved the pickled onion on side. Super cute spot.
Aubrey A — Google review
Nothing to write home about, especially in a city like NO. I ordered the fried chicken thigh with the seafood boil seasoning. I enjoyed the flavor and the moistness of the chicken however the breading kept falling off ( the thigh appeared to be skinless with breading on it). I received the potato salad even though I wanted the potatoes. The potato salad had a Smokey flavor which I appreciated. It also had bacon and a Lays chip topping… the bacon added absolutely nothing to the dish and the lays topping while odd was okay. It added crunch and additional salty flavor. In a city like NO you can find better, less expensive, fried chicken with better parking. This place reminds me of Hattie B’s in Nashville, a lot of hype that the restaurant doesn’t live up to.
Shann L — Google review
Just wow! Run don’t walk here! Beyond exceptional chicken, just the right amount of spice, super crispy. And although they are thighs there is no bone but huge pieces so don’t over order like I did. lol Potato salad is amazing. I will be back. They need to put a location in Houston! Best fried chicken I’ve had in ages! And the service was very personal, exceptional. Lastly, you’re going to go crazy for their picnic pulp! Buy a jar before you leave too because you’re going to want this at home!!❤️
Kimberly B — Google review
I think it was the best fried chicken I’ve had in New Orleans - maybe in the entire states! We ordered the chicken sandwich, fries and a kids menu. All was good and tasty. The employees were kind and friendly and the atmosphere was good with appropriate music outside. All in all, I can really recommend the restaurant.
Karsten J — Google review
What a fantastic place. We loved everything we ate - Boudin egg rolls, Pimentón cheese, potato salad, fried chicken sandwich and the salad with chicken thigh. Happy Hour offers also good with excellent cocktails, loved the Vodka gimlet. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu.
Paul B — Google review
The best part of this place is the outdoor seating. The tree provides shade and the street corner isn’t too noisy. They have plenty of indoor seating as well. Order at the counter and then sit down with your number.
Mariel U — Google review
I dined-in during SNOLA! Their fried chicken is flavourful, moist, crispy; served steaming hot! The crawfish boil seasoning is the bomb if you like spicy. Most Excellent Happy Hour with $5 bubbles to complement the Spicy Chik! I had the spicy 2- piece Thigh Plate $15, Bubbles $5, and yes...Campfire S'mores $8! Excellent, ftiendly, prompt service (Nolan). I've ordered delivery and also dined in. Defn coming back! Great place to bring out of town visitors who love good fried chicken. And I love that you can rent a picnic basket for 20 bucks; filled with all the supplies. You order the food and drink and bam! Picnic to go!
IGallivant — Google review
Service was excellent! The boudin egg rolls were great and so was the fish dip. My chicken sandwich had a nice presentation, however the meat was dry and tough. Based on the other food being great, I'll assume it was a one-off. We'll return again if we're in the area. Outdoor and indoor eating area and a relaxed environment.

Willie Mae's Scotch House is a renowned family-owned restaurant that has been serving top-notch fried chicken and soul food since 1956. Despite facing challenges after hurricane Katrina, the humble spot in the Seventh Ward has become an iconic Treme institution. The menu features their famous crispy and tender fried chicken, along with other Southern comfort dishes like catfish and smothered pork chops.
Some of the best fried chicken in the city. Very crispy. Lots of other options to choose from. The catfish is another favorite. Red bean hummus is pretty good and a little different. Very well seasoned gumbo. Cocktails and wine available. About a 20 minute walk from Canal and worth the trip.
GK — Google review
Willie Mae’s is widely regarded as one of the best places for fried chicken in the United States. With that reputation in mind, I was genuinely looking forward to my visit. We were meeting an old friend who had recently moved out of state, and we wanted to reconnect over something that felt like home. Choosing a legendary New Orleans spot seemed like the perfect idea. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. From the moment we were seated, I felt uneasy. Our server had a concerning level of visible dirt under his fingernails. It appeared to be thick and built up, and it was hard to ignore. In a restaurant setting, especially one with such a strong reputation, basic hygiene is essential. I was genuinely disturbed by this and it set a negative tone for the entire meal. To make matters worse, the temperature inside the restaurant was unbearable. Our seating area was extremely hot, to the point that we were sweating just sitting down. It was difficult to relax or carry on a conversation. It honestly felt cooler outside, despite the fact that the city was experiencing a heat wave. While I understand that weather conditions can be unpredictable, the interior should still provide a comfortable environment for guests. The food itself was good. The chicken was well-seasoned and flavorful. However, given the conditions and the overall experience, I found it hard to justify the high prices. In Louisiana, you can find fried chicken of nearly the same quality at local gas stations for much less. Paying such a premium demands not only great food, but also cleanliness, comfort, and care. I truly hope this was just an isolated incident. I would be willing to give Willie Mae’s another try in the future, but only if significant improvements are made in cleanliness and customer comfort.
Asif K — Google review
This is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. This is the third location I've visited. The food and service are always great. This is the first time I didn't order chicken, and wow, the catfish blew me away. These are some of the best butter beans I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. Love that their cocktails pay homage to Uncle Nearest Whiskey.
Celeta S — Google review
Definitely among the top fried chickens Ive ever had! Immaculately crispy, surprisingly spicy, perfectly salted and juicy. We got the okra (perfectly fried) and the red beans and rice (top notch flavor). I'll be dreaming of that perfect crunch on a piping hot chicken thigh for weeks to come!
Lake S — Google review
The food & service was so exceptional I ate here two days in a row. Tasha, Candi, and Tray were AMAZING and greeted me with love & kindness! Chef’s kiss to the gumbo, chicken, jambalaya, cabbage, Mac & cheese, red beans & rice, and cornbread. Here are a few pictures I was able to capture during my visit. Go straight to Willie Mae’s Nola, do not pass go, do not collect $200!!!! If you’re looking for a sign to go let this review be all the signs that you need.
Yolonda N — Google review
If you’re in New Orleans and searching for food that feeds the soul, look no further than Willie Mae’s. The signature fried chicken here is simply extraordinary - golden, crispy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. It’s the kind of meal that stays with you long after the last bite, comforting and deeply satisfying in that uniquely Southern way. I visited their new location, and it’s a beautiful space - bright, airy, and expansive, with plenty of room to soak in the atmosphere while you enjoy your meal. It maintains the same warmth and charm that made the original famous, but with a fresh, modern feel. A special shoutout to Kenneth, whose exceptional service made the experience even more memorable. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming - the kind of hospitality that reminds you why New Orleans is such a special place. Willie Mae’s isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a tradition, a taste of home, and a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and good people.

Before you read this, make reservations at this wonderful James Beard Award winning family restaurant. If you didn't make reservations, be prepared to wait about 1 hour. We did, but it was worth it. The chicken is out of this world! Great mac and cheese, too! 😋

On a trip to New Orleans, it's a must to visit the James Beard winner especially if you like the fried chicken!! We made reservations. We had Tropical storm, Berry Blitz and sweet tea. We had 1/2 fried chicken, chicken sandwich along with crawfish etouffee, fried okra and sweet potato fries. All were great !!

Li'l Dizzy's Cafe is a beloved Treme Creole gem on Esplanade Avenue, serving up hearty breakfasts and flavorful soul food in a cozy setting. Owned by Wayne Baquet of the renowned Baquet family, this no-frills joint has been dishing out authentic Creole cuisine since 1947.
This was without a single doubt, the best food I had during my weekend at New Orleans. We got there and waited in line the second they opened, all of the staff were extremely friendly, efficient, and welcoming. We ordered everything from the smothered pork chops to crab cakes, and everything was so good, the best we’ve ever had. The value for the price was unmatched, we will 100% recommend this restaurant to all of our friends and families!

I heard all about this place before we came online and the reviews were glowing but it was a little out of the way so didn’t add it to the list. But after our swamp tour bus driver who seemed very well versed in New Orleans cuisine (both the good and bad, if any of it truly can be called bad) absolutely raved about this place, we just had to do it. It really does feel like a local neighbourhood gem despite its popularity. It’s quaint and cute and comfortable with friendly smiles greeting you at the door and all through the place. The food was REALLY good. The fried Chicken was absolutely fantastic. Hot, crispy, fresh and doesn’t rely on an extravagant spice mix to make it taste good. It’s the fact that it’s juicy as hell that makes it taste good. The Mac and cheese and potato salad were both great as well. Loved the whole thing and strongly urge you to make the journey out if you’re hesitant like we were.

We decided to check this place out because of all the great reviews, and the food definitely lived up to the hype — big portions and really good flavor. That said, be prepared to wait. There was a long line outside (in the rain, no less), and the lady managing the line ran it like she was ex-military — strict and no-nonsense! Once you finally get inside, there’s another line to order, and then you only get a seat if there’s room. The food made up for a lot of it, but the atmosphere wasn’t the friendliest in my opinion. Overall, worth trying once for the food, but just know what you’re getting into before you go!

We came on a Friday and had the Special Catfish Jourdain with Mac & Cheese and sweet potatoes, also got a gumbo. The food was delicious. The fish was tender, flaky and perfectly fried. The hostess was fun and kept us entertained and informed while we waited in line so we could eat inside with A/C, we did not wait too long and were seated in the upper floor which is very nice. They did have plenty of alternative sitting outside. We parked on the street not too far from the restaurant. Would definitely come back. Wish I would have tried the white beans. ;)

The reviews were right—this is a small, quaint spot with tasty food, but be prepared for a unique setup. It's not a traditional sit-down restaurant. You're assigned a table, order at a register, and the food is served in to-go containers. This is important to know for groups: they couldn't seat our party of 10 together. We ordered a feast: the fried chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, collard greens, and the red fish special. Here's the breakdown: · The Hits: The fried chicken was delicious, though a tad salty for my taste. The red fish special and mac and cheese were great. The star of the show was the drinks—the homemade lemonade and peach iced tea with rum were absolutely fantastic. · The Miss: The collard greens were a letdown. They were mushy and lacked flavor, tasting either overcooked or from a can. Skip these if you visit. They are only open for bunch so be mindful of the time. The line was long when we first arrived but completely non existent after our meal so timing may be a key. They aren’t located too far for the French quarter so definitely worth the trip.

So we were referred to this spot by a local vendor at the Fresh Market who said if we wanted good soul food, this was the spot. He hyped it up real good so we decided to try them out. Now I love good food and want what everybody else eats who's from the area so I assume things will be really good. I checked the reviews online and looked at the pictures and thought it would turn out to be a good experience. While on the way, we saw a group of people on the sidewalk so we knew it was going to be a wait and for a quick second, I was excited to try them. We walked up and sure enough it was a group of about 5-6 waiting for a seat in front of us but we only needed a table for two. The young lady at the door told us it was a little wait but she provided us with menus to see what we would like to order. The lunch special for the day was stuffed bell peppers with sides. By the time we got inside to order, they were all out of peppers and you couldn't order a different special, It had to be a daily item, fried chicken, crab cakes or trout and maybe a few other menu options. So I ordered the trout Zachary with dirty rice and yams and my husband got the crab cakes with Mac and cheese and greens. We got a sweet tea, which was bottled and not fresh made and strawberry lemonade that he said was really good. I ended up ordering a bread pudding just because I wanted something sweet. The atmosphere was pretty cool, they had tables and chairs on the middle with a few seats to wait all around the spot. A young man was running the food to tables so that helped move people along pretty quickly. They had pictures of guests with the owner and new Orleans rich stuff so that made it feel like Nola for sure. So let's get into the taste of things. My fish with the toppings was pretty good. I think it had crawfish and shrimp in a creamy sauce and it was nice. The dirty rice had plenty of meat so that was a bonus. The candy yams were too candy for me and I love sweets. They were giving mushy sweets instead of yams. My husband's crab cakes were really good according to him and he doesn't like anyone's crab cakes outside of his momma. His greens were a serious disappointment that I concluded were canned glory greens that were over cooked and touched up with more seasoning. The Mac and cheese was giving milky noodles and cheese topping. It wasn't cooked through to be one thing but watery parts with cheese on top. Mind you, I read others reviews and look at pictures and the comparison of what we got verses what others had posted didn't all match. My bread pudding had fruit cocktail in it but no flavor or spices. That was very disappointing. Needless to say, we tried what the locals say is the spot to go and while some of it was good, it's not all that people hype it up to be. It's crazy because people have left reviews raving about this place and it was not that great to me/ us. I think husband had a blast with his crab cake but that was probably the only thing we had that was the worth it. Over all this place did not live up to the hype but of people love them, good real.

It was good once I realized feli gumbo was supposed to be more like a soup, the meat in it was very tender but I came late in the day, guess I got the bottom of the pot cause I only had 2 small shrimp in mine. Gumbo had a great flavor. The crab cakes were awesome with a crawfish sauce on top, they were excellent. Greens were good very tender, a bit to sweet but good, the dirty rice was good no liver chuncks in it which I liked. So I guess it wasn't real dirty rice but it was tasty.

My experience at Lil Dizzy’s Cafe was exceptional!! The customer service was top-tier! From the line outside until I left the restaurant I felt a part of something special. The restaurant's owners and staff get it! The woman at the door handling the line was someone everyone should mimic in customer service. My food was great! I would say my most memorable dish that I ate was the gumbo, and the Cajun rice! Do yourself a favor and make sure stop by Lil Dizzy’s when you’re in New Orleans. Get there early if you can. There will be a line, and they can sell out of menu items. I was there when it rained, but they still got all the customers in!!

Nestled in the heart of Gentilly, The Original Fiorellas' Cafe is a delightful homage to Southern and Italian culinary traditions, brought back to life in 2016 after a long hiatus. This family-run establishment has roots dating back to the 1940s and has quickly become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike.
Excellent old school Italian sandwich joint. Known for fried chicken & po boys. I got half a muffuletta which was excellent. My wife had the meatloaf daily special which she loved. Highly recommended!

Everyone said how good the chicken was the best place to get chicken, I had never been to the establishment so on my way from buying throws for Mardi Gras I felt like eating chicken so instead of going to Gus or Popeyes, I thought of Fiorella's since it had so many good reviews and I had never tried the restaurant. Well to say the least it wasn't a good experience, not with staff but with the chicken, I ordered the 4 piece with mash potatoes and fries, it was about 6 in the evening the restaurant close for 7, so when I received my order the fries where hard and over cooked so the cashier who was for professional and polite asked for fresh fries but my chicken was over cooked also, my breast was very tough, they didn't dust the chicken so all the crust was in the plate from all the pieces of chicken best thing was the mash potatoes, but in the kitchen cooking look like high school students, who was either ready to close up or don't really care about the quality of the food! This was a horrible first impression!!!!

Stopped for lunch and had the 2 piece white meat fried chicken and the meatloaf plate with mashed potatoes and green beans. Service was great, and the staff was very friendly. Chicken breast was cooked perfectly and the meatloaf had great flavor. I’ve wanted to eat here since I moved here 4 years ago, but weekends closed threw a little wrench into those plans. So glad I made it in. We will be back. That spice level on the chicken was perfection Disappointed I didn’t know about the Fried Chicken Skins before paying! Next time!!

Lots of history here and just really good vibes. Even if you don’t want an order to go, you will go to the counter. They will take your order and bring it out once you have a table. I didn’t come on Monday so I missed the red beans and rice, but more the reason to come back. Hamburger steak was good and the potato salad is next level. Ranch dressing definitely from a bottle and the mashed potatoes had instant potato consistency/ flavor. Overall a great option outside all the tourist areas.

Dang, y’all didn’t tell me about the chicken cracklins. Got dinner on the way to the Billy Strings show at the lakefront. I got the Monday red beans special with smoked sausage, it came with choice of a salad and bread, and I got an order of chicken cracklins to share. Y’all keeping it real with those chicken cracklins. Everything was great, this place is an institution. We’re coming back to get a bottle of wine on meatloaf night.

Chubbie's Fried Chicken is a long-standing family-owned establishment in Algiers that offers delicious fried chicken and seafood, along with po' boys. Despite its fast food appearance, this local gem prides itself on serving fantastic fried chicken made with fresh local ingredients. The friendly family diner atmosphere makes it a great place to sit down for a meal, while the efficient drive-thru and take-out service cater to those looking for quick satisfaction.
We’re visiting from Georgia and stopped by while exploring the New Orleans, Louisiana area — and we are so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was outstanding. The lady at the register was super friendly and incredibly helpful. She patiently explained the menu to us, and even let us see and sample the shrimp étouffée since we had never heard of it before. My husband tried it and absolutely loved it! I ordered the fried chicken, and let me tell you — it was the freshest and most flavorful chicken I’ve ever had. The red beans and rice were rich and comforting, and the biscuits? They melt in your mouth — absolutely amazing! My husband had the catfish with red beans and rice, sausage, and the étouffée. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portions were generous enough that we even had leftovers for dinner. Thank you for the warm welcome and truly delicious food. You made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be telling our friends and family about this gem!

I purchased a fish/shrimp/oyster platter and there was a spork with green stuff on it and it appeared as if someone was using it, as well as the roll that looked like someone bit off of it with that same green stuff on it. It was a waste of $27 because of course I did not eat it. The store would have been closed before it could make it back so I tried to call, no one answered and it says the VM is full. Because of my work hours and their store hours I knew I would not make it there in time the next day to speak with someone, so I've been calling all day and receiving the same results. No one answers and the VM is full. Their food is normally good and not being able to contact them by phone at all is weird.

I went to this place cause I seen it on Tik Tok and others stated it was good!!! Well my chicken was cold, and the white beans didn’t have a lick of flavor or salt. I ordered a breast and a thigh. I asked for hot sauce I got 1 pack, asked for ketchup and only received 2. The sweet tea taste like it was sitting in an old container or the cups had a bad taste. Black own and operated. Please do better

I've been hearing about this place for a while & finally decided to give it a try. The chicken was fried to perfection however it's very mild in flavor. If you like highly seasoned chicken with a spicy kick this isn't it, but for mild it was good. The onion rings were on point, the gumbo was good but not grandma good, everything else was just ok for me. Mashed potatoes & rice dressing just ok. But try it for yourself this is just my experience. Ad for customer service excellent they were very nice and attentive.

This place is sincerely amazing. They have the most divine biscuits I have ever eaten. The chicken is juicy, savory, and loaded with flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy are the perfect texture, consistency, and taste. The staff are so sweet, kind, and polite, too! I seriously recommend checking this place out if you have the time. It's worth it!

My order was taken by a young man who I felt was rushing me and a bit rude at the speaker. Once I pulled up to the window and nicely pointed out his attitude to him. His mother (the owner) told him to close the window on me and then she came and said he is autistic and she is helping him gain experience working with customers. I truly respect that effort, but I believe he should have closer guidance(stand next to him) while interacting with the public to ensure both his comfort and mainly his safety. Her being in the kitchen instead of nearby is not safe at all. Not everyone has patience or understanding. She came out of the kitchen to the window to say he’s autistic. Him working the window is not safe at all. Maybe being supportive nearby and most importantly additional training outside business hours could make a positive difference for everyone.

Takeout Restaurant
Nestled in Gretna, Chicken's Kitchen is a delightful haven for those who crave authentic Southern comfort food. Founded by the talented self-taught Chef Marlon Chukumerije, this Black-owned gem began as a home-based catering service before blossoming into a beloved restaurant in late 2020.
My husband and I took a trip to NOLA and my husband decided to try something different rather than the typical restaurant setting. I was reluctant to the idea due to the long line outside and lack of seating. However, I agreed to wait it out and take the food to go. Pros- everything was DELICIOUS!! The bread pudding was a unique color due to how it was decorated but still amazing. The staff was friendly and worked hard to get the line moving quickly. The portions are generous and the pricing is more than fair. We paid $42 (including tip) for everything shown in the pics. Cons- While the food was full of flavor, I would suggest going easier on the salt. For some patrons, I can see it being a bit much depending on what they are used to. Overall, 10/10 experience and if we ever visit NOLA again, we will be back to try a different dish.

I’ve been eating here since they first opened and have never had a bad experience. It’s a quick drive from downtown New Orleans and WELL worth it. The staff treats everyone like family and always have a great attitude, even when business is crazy and people take forever and a day to order (despite having daily menus on social media and in line while you wait 🙃)! They typically have a line, but that speaks volumes to the quality of their food and staff. Don’t let the lines deter you, they move QUICK! Cannot recommend them enough!

I’ve been a loyal customer here since the doors first opened years ago—and for good reason. The food, the atmosphere, and the service are consistently excellent. When they expanded and opened their sister spot, The Coop, I became a regular there too—sometimes visiting both locations multiple times a week. The portions for the price are already a win, but what keeps me coming back is the outstanding customer service. It’s never hit-or-miss. Even on their busiest days, you’re greeted warmly and never made to feel rushed, which is rare these days. Marlon, the owner, is the heartbeat of both places. He has an upbeat, down-to-earth personality that shines through not just in how he interacts with customers but also in the food itself. He’s not the type of owner who stays suited up in the back giving orders—he’s right there cooking, serving, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. It feels like sitting down to Sunday dinner at your grandparents’ house. Both Chicken’s Kitchen and The Coop absolutely pass the vibe check. If you’re at The Coop, don’t leave without trying the biscuits and the Grits & Gravy—you’ll be hooked. Over at Chicken’s Kitchen, the Brussels sprouts and yams are a must, and the mac & cheese will have you saying, “Thank you, Lord, for this meal” after every bite. And trust me, you can’t go wrong with the fried salmon—or anything else on the menu!

Food and atmosphere were great. First time visiting, was mostly update because they messed up my ordered. Ordered cabbage and Mac and cheese but received double Mac and cheese which was too much pasta when the main entree was lasagna. Just didn’t have the time to go back. Next time I order will be in person.

This place was recommended to me by a local. Oh goodness, was this a great recommendation! I made the mistake of trying to just walk in, and was advised to go to the back of the line. I only ended up waiting 2-3 minutes but I'm sure the wait is a bit longer when they are busy. I went on Tuesday which is oxtail day. The oxtail here was the best dish I ate while in New Orleans, which is saying something as I also dined at Jewel of the South and ate the menu at Restaurant August. Top notch service too, they have a warm demeanor and love to see customers enjoying the food. I also ate mac and cheese, Yams, greens, catfish, chicken, and some other items. I did not try the gravy but will do upon my return. An excellent and necessary trip for the intrepid foodie

I was looking for something local to try and came across this place on social media. When we arrived we went to the delivery location and they directed us to the other location. Upon arrival there they had a line of about ten people, we only waited ten minutes but they had seats outside. The line moved fairly quick, this was my first time here and the customer service was amazing she helped me build my plate. The amount of food they gave us was ridiculous, I ordered rice and chicken stew, Mac, yams, and fried chicken all for only $15.00!! We sat down and ate our food and everything was scorching hot and seasoned well. So glad I decided to come here, I even got to meet the chef and he was really nice. I will definitely be returning soon and I also look forward to trying the sweets they had inside the building next time!

I really enjoyed my first trip to Chicken's Kitchen. I gotta say, it's hard to not be overwhelmed by the desserts that are right at the door. But the first I noticed is that it's kinda hot in the joint. Not unbearable, but it's warm. No worries, the line moves quickly. I got the fried fish with mac and cheese, candied green beans and potato salad. The fish was hot, good, crispy and you can taste the lemon they put on it. The mac and cheese was good, cheesey and creamy. I normally don't like sharp cheddar, and you can taste it, but the other cheeses balance out the taste. I love green beans, but the candied green beans were a new one for me. I ate them, but I wasn't crazy about the sweet flavor. I'll definitely be back to try other stuff.

Restaurant with mostly locals.Danni, our server was friendly & fantastic. We tried the 4 BBQ shrimp (with heads intact) first for this non-coastal couple, surprisingly good. My wife had the Wedge & deemed it excellent, I had the Cecil salad with chicken, it was average but filling. Followed it up with pumpkin pie with a generous amount of whipped topping. An enjoyable dinner at a small, quaint restaurant with local atmosphere. We would go back.

My favorite thing on the menu is the fried catfish with pimento Mac and cheese. It also comes with house made pickles and hush puppies. Sometimes I get one of the daily specials. The watermelon and crab salad didn’t disappoint! Pictured is the kids catfish and Mac. Love their seasonal lemonades as well which you can always get spiked if you want. Party of 4 on a Saturday morning and we were greeted/seated promptly. Friendly service overall but I think it was weird to offer honey with the hot tea and not disclose that you charge for the honey. The food was fresh, hot and crispy. The poboy bread is probably one of the best breads I’ve had with a poboy ever! Some salt on the pork would’ve made it perfect but the fried chicken was sooo crispy and juicy. We enjoyed our experience for sure! Thank you!

I ordered fried chicken. I normaly do not eat fried food but every once in a blue moon. I pulled a piece off and it was rubbery. I would say undercooked. I tried it, there was zero flavor, no seasoning. I thought I would try a different piece. I tried to pull it from the bone but it was stretchy. I told the waitress and she asked If I wanted to make another or something else. I said I will try the grilled chicken because it was diffrent. I had the grilled before so I knew it would be better. I manager came over and forcfully said all of our chicken is going to be the same, we checked it and it was cooked, do you want to just pay for your drink. I was shocked at her rudness. The food has been subpar in the last few months and not worth it. Last time i ordered the salad and it was missing the main ingredients. It was iceberg and a scoop of celery and carrots. Never going back.

This place was okay! Came here on a whim because I heard they serve some of the best chicken in town. However that's only on certain days, at certain times. I settled with the fried catfish, which had very little flavor but was still light and crisp. The collard greens were mid. Mac and cheese was good. But missing something. If your looking good for bold flavors, maybe seek somewhere else. But for a quick bite with friendly service, high hat is worth the stop!

This was a nice find. We didn't want the touristic Hussle traps from the French quarters. We've been there, done that. Love it but tire of it. So we ventured into the saint Charles street side. Between the garden district and the business buildings. And it was nice to find this. They had lots of families that came ine while we were here. Some were large with bunch of kids and others were just like one parent with the one or two kids. Of course there were some just adults but you could tell this is were many locals come to eat. The good was good. I wish I had some pics of my catfish pooboy. The flavour was spot on. The sauce dripped through my fingers as I took bites. I personally am not a fan of the new Orleans french bread because is too hard to bite off. So when you have a juice sauce on a tasty sandwich, of course that balances it better. So, in there words, I didn't have to work hard on my food to eat and chew. And the flavor was great. The only thing I would caution is that you better find a parking spot a cross the street in the parking lot. Even on the busy hour, there was parking available there. But you have to cross a street.

Popeyes is a fast food chain that specializes in spicy fried chicken. The restaurant was founded in 1972 in New Orleans and retains its Louisiana flavor with crunchy, perfectly-spiced chicken. It is also popular for its red beans and rice and gut-busting biscuits.
The chicken was flavorful. The chicken at this Popeyes location was very spicy and you could taste the flavors. This is a popular location and usually crowded. Conveniently located downtown around a lot of other spots in the French Quarter. They are open late night

Popeyes chicken in Atlanta is good most of the time, but Popeyes Chicken in New Orleans is ALWAYS good, especially when it freshly cooked and piping hot. The coleslaw was perfect and the biscuits are melt in your mouth delicious. The service was slow and the dining tables could use cleaning after a guest is done dining for the next guest, but I forgot about all that once I took my first bite. You can't come to Louisiana without stopping by a Popeyes.

Oh my goodness I just could not wait to be back in New Orleans for some The original Popeyes Chicken. I haven't been here in years. However, I ordered a 8 piece 50/50 original & spicy chicken, Coleslaw and Red beans & Rice. Oh so good. Crispy with lots of flavor and the Spicy Chicken was my favorite since long ago. The chicken is juicy, spicy and delicious this is my favorite spot. When I'm back in town from California we will be back. Please send some of your employees to other Popeyes Chicken for training on how to prepare the chicken. Your employees here are fantastic, they are people oriented, they work like an assembly line. Also, they are the true meaning of a Team.

This is a terrible representation of Popeyes at this location. The service was incredibly slow, inefficient and very frustrating. I placed a pick up order and the amount of chaos I witnessed was insane. The person behind the counter would start on one task then move to the next without finishing. There were like 10 orders sitting on the counter waiting for various pieces and in the meantime getting cold. There were guests who were getting loud and very upset due to being ignored and watching the chaos. As predicted my food was very cold. I would never step in this location again.

The employees were doing a lot of playing around. The restaurant was packed they was not in a hurry to get your orders out but I guess that's what you get when you got a bunch of kids working a fast food restaurant. The little shift lead walking around as if she didn't care very nonchalant. The food was great service was horrible.

Restaurant
Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is a beloved establishment that has made its mark in the realm of Southern comfort food. Known for its spicy fried chicken, this long-standing chain offers a delightful experience in a relaxed atmosphere. The secret to their success lies in the perfectly seasoned and moist meat, encased in a crispy crust that crackles with every bite. Originating from Tennessee, Gus's has become a local favorite, even clinching accolades at events like the 2019 Fried Chicken Festival.
In the mood for chicken? This is the spot to go as it is easily one of the best fried chicken restaurants I have ever been to! The chicken is perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of kick, crisp, and juicy. The Mac n cheese and coleslaw were also very good as well as the fried green tomatoes. You can order a plate with a good selection of sides and a slice of bread or a la carte. I’ve been twice to the New Orleans location and was not disappointed.

Yum, really liked everything about this place. There was a great selection of food, we specifically wanted fried chicken, we ordered both 3 tenders and 2 pieces of white meat plus a mac and cheese. It was plenty for us. The food came out really quickly, the service was really good, the price was reasonable and we really enjoyed the meal. No booking necessary.

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken in New Orleans is absolutely amazing. The chicken itself is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside — honestly some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The sides were also excellent. The coleslaw was my favorite, and the fries were wonderfully crispy. The collard greens were flavorful, and while the mac and cheese wasn’t the standout of the meal, it was still very solid. The atmosphere is casual and spacious — nothing fancy, just relaxed and comfortable. The open windows made it feel breezy and inviting. The only minor downside is that even though we were one of the few customers at the time, the food took a little while to come out. I think this is because everything is cooked fresh, which I really appreciate, but it’s worth noting for anyone in a rush — this isn’t really a grab-and-go spot. We had ordered quite a lot, which may have contributed to the wait, but the service was friendly and accommodating. Overall, the food more than makes up for the wait. Gus’s is a must-try for anyone in New Orleans who loves fried chicken.

We have fried green tomatoes which were excellent with a crispy, not soggy skin. We split the half chicken and subbed fries and Mac&cheese. The sides were unremarkable. The Mac is traditional southern style, so extra thick and cheesy. Chick was delightful. A bit of spicy in the coating. Not a lot of bread covering but still tasty. I would recommend as long as you set your expectations at local, low frills.

It was busy after a Pokemon event at the convention center but we were able to get a table pretty quickly. My husband loves fried chicken and said this was indeed the best fried chicken he has had. Awesome flavor here for the chicken. I think the sides were alright, but not insanely good. Our server was very friendly and helpful!
Kaysee D — Google review
The chicken was decent. Spicy. Nothing great. The sides were on par with fast food. I’m surprised this place is rated so high. For me, Popeyes is better. I was hoping for something more “homemade”. Partially my fault for not researching better. I will say the manager stopped by to check on us & was very nice

We have tried Gus's in Houston, Austin and now New Orleans. Let me tell you they did not disappoint! Food was amazing! I must say NOLA you may have Texas beat! Although everything tasted the exact same deliciousness you expect from Gus's I believe I could taste the pride and love just a bit more here! The chicken is always EXTREMELY juicy! The spice is on point! The sides are packed with flavor and the sweet tea hits! We came in around 2pm and we're followed by a large group in a bus. The employees didn't look frustrated at all, despite a group of 40 or more walking in. They put their heads down and got down!! Taking care of everyone. The open window is great! Love the atmosphere! Great job y'all! Much ❤️ from TX!

I came to New Orleans for a work convention — four long days filled with meetings, walking, and trying out a variety of local dishes. On our last day, with just a few hours to kill before our flight, we asked a local where they go for authentic, no-frills Louisiana food. Without skipping a beat, they said, “You’ve got to try Gus’s.” So grateful we listened. Even after a lavish steak dinner earlier in the week, Gus’s fried chicken was hands down the best meal I had in New Orleans. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside — just the right kick of spice. I ordered the classic combo with mac and cheese and fried okra, and every bite was soul-satisfying. The cherry on top? Friendly, fast service that made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for real Southern comfort food in NOLA, skip the tourist traps and head straight to Gus’s. You won’t regret it.

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is a popular fast-food chain known for its delicious fried chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast. Founded by Louisiana native Todd Graves, the brand has been featured on Restaurant Recovery, a series that showcases efforts to support struggling restaurant owners during the pandemic.
3/2/2023 Went here because it was close to where we were staying and all the other fast food spots we have back home and the place was kind of empty it wasn't far from closing time the cashier was nice even though her face looked like she was annoyed but it was all good. I loved there half and half mix and the chicken and fries where also good nothing was salty or greasy and i liked the dipping sauce and the piece of toast wasn't bad either. It was a decent price for some chicken tenders and fries so nothing to complain about
BklynPimpstress R — Google review
To go in drive thru! This use to be a good location. They don’t seem to care. I opened in parking lot as soon as I got it so it wasn’t from being in container long. I ordered extra crispy & it was, soggy no batter falling off. I don’t understand how frying chicken with batter on is so complicated. So the only 2 choices is extra crispy or soggy batter falling off & that is not even guaranteed! This happens almost all locations in New Orleans & Metairie. The pieces are smaller & price has gone up. I didn’t get napkins, or a fork for coleslaw either.
B.I.N — Google review
I give Raising Cane's four stars because while the food is always fresh, the tenders aren't really seasoned all that great but it's the sauce that saves the day.
Darla F — Google review
Very bad attitude from the person who took our order. She was very unenthusiastic and her voice was incredibly flat. I understand that everyone has bad days at work, but you have to work through that yourself. Don’t take it out of the customers. The worse part is how small the tenders are… laughably small. I’ve worked in kitchens, and you can order different sizes of protein. This includes cuts of chicken, ie tenders. The chicken size is way too small for the price. Three of my fingers equals a small chicken breast. The price I pay at this specific location is deplorable for what you get. Do yourself a favor and goto the St. Charles Cane’s location. At least they have a better attitude and get your order right. Management, you should do better. I won’t be back to this location again.

Went in after work for a bite to eat. I actually saw an employee making Lemonade. I was surprised I assumed that the Lemonade was ready made. This guy juiced lemon after lemon! No wonder it tastes so good!😃 Me & bae got our meal and as usual we were pleased. We both got the Caniac combo with Lemonades. Sooo good! 👍🏾 Thanks Raising Canes!

Canes never disappoints when we are in NOLA. No matter the location! Today we are at the S. Claiborne and it is immaculate. The parking lot is perfectly groomed and well maintained giving it a warm and welcome feeling. The drive thru was packed, but moving at a quick rate. We were greeted immediately at the door. The place smelled ah-mazing! My husband ordered as I went to the restroom. Talk about NICE to walk in and see it was clean. I hate dirty restrooms in a place of business. We ordered the Box and the Caneiac. The chicken was so fresh and hot with a thick, crunchy breading. Fresh and cold cole slaw which I love! So delicious. Everything was top notch quality and quantity. All of the employees were extremely pleasant. Like genuine, not the “fake forced” because I’m working painted smiles- these folks were smiling and chatting with everyone. That speaks volumes of them and the store. Nice job S. Claiborne!!!

Highway Fried Chicken & Seafood is a small, family-run restaurant where the husband and wife team work hard to serve their customers. The lack of air conditioning might make waiting for your food uncomfortable, but once it arrives, you'll be pleased with the generous portions and hot servings. The fried chicken has a light and crispy coating, while the fish is described as delicious with just the right breading. Some find the chicken spicy, but others enjoy its flavor.
Crystal and Leo does a fantastic in bringing the BEST out of fried chicken. Their spices are perfectly blended, but can accommodate higher heat levels.

First.. I ordered my food via phone and the customer service over the phone was horrible! I’m big on customer service. Second.. When I finally made it to my destination and saw the wing plate that I received for $14.40, I was in shock! To serve an 8 pc pigeon wings (that’s how small they were), not chicken wings to someone for almost $15 is DIABOLICAL! The small side of onion rings were larger than the entree (wings). Third.. I asked for my “so-called” chicken wings to be fried well because I like crispy wings not soft wings, but I couldn’t even get that. Literally, got one star because I had to give it in order to leave a review. The only good thing I have to say is that the little food I did receive was hot.
Neesie L — Google review
Dine in or take out. Food is cooked fresh to order so it's best to call in ahead. We'll seasoned. Very friendly. Corn fritters are great. Whole wings on meals but not hot wing plate. Biscuits are good, just need some honey butter. They are extremely busy. Will definitely be back.

Very good fried chicken, the spice had a great kick but not hot. The red beans and rice weren’t the best, kinda bland but the mashed potatoes were great.

Food was good. Not great, but definitely good. The prices are normal - not high, but not a great deal for average food. The place is small and not much room too much room to move around. There were only 3 or 4 other people in there besides me - and I felt crowded. I lot of people love their chicken, but I found it similar to Popeyes and gas station chicken. Food and service = 4 stars.
Eldon ( — Google review
Great prices for a quick lunchtime stop. Food is always fresh and hot.
Glyn G — Google review
Great food, great price, super nice people! We had the 3 piece fish, salad with chicken, 2 pc fried chicken, onion rings, coleslaw. It was all delicious. The fish was just right. Really good breading and melt in your mouth fish. The fried chicken was good but it was a little spicy for my taste (I don’t like spicy food) but the flavor was good. The chicken on the salad, however, was not spicy at all. They are made from their chicken tenders which are not spicy. Overall, I highly recommend Highway Fried Chicken and Seafood. It’s a welcome addition to the Jefferson area. Will definitely be back! Thanks.

The chicken is awesome regardless if you get strips or on the bone . The chicken strip's are huge . Way better than Popeyes or any other place around here . Service is great . Everything I've tried there is awesome . Had the onion rings with my chicken strips tonight and they are awesome .

Brothers Food Mart is a hidden gem in New Orleans, particularly known for its mouthwatering fried chicken. Located at 148 Carondelet St., this convenience store offers crispy, crunchy chicken that stands out from the typical gas station fare. Beyond the chicken, patrons rave about their fresh fish cooked to order and delicious Po-boys filled with shrimp or fish. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect stop for a quick meal after exploring the city.
Very good food and very friendly staff. Awesome overstuffed shrimp, oyster or fish Po-boys. - Updated - I had the fish po-boy for the first time and it was awesome. Updated again - Had the Shrimp Po-boy again and it was perfect!

Crescent City Brewhouse is a modern microbrewery located in the French Quarter of New Orleans. It has been a key player in the city's brewing scene since the early 1990s, offering a selection of four mainstay beers and seasonal brews that blend old-world techniques with modern technology. The brewery also features live jazz performances and a courtyard for guests to enjoy.
Wow, we were so impressed with the food & beer we tried at Crescent City! Both my friend & I had the beer flight, favorite was the Red Stallion. Tried the Red Beans & Rice, BBQ Shrimp & Grits & our appetizer was the Crawfish Bread a lovely flaky pastry! Our server was Nathaniel & he was so darn knowledgeable & had an amazing personality!! Now we are listening to an amazing jazz band! Highly recommend!!

Place was great. We had lunch there. Food and beer were yummy 😋 . Our server Tina F was awesome. I was going to leave her extra tips, but she was too pushy promting me through the steps on the portable credit card charge terminal. She picked for herself 20% and I decided to leave this top for her.

Very chill, relaxed vibe. The service was really great! Danny was really on top of service and such helpful recommendations. We were a group of 5. We had the Red beans and Rice, the Sampler lunch main, the roast beef Po Boy, Oysters (raw), Creole cheesecake, and the bread pudding. Highlights: the grits are incredible! The cheesecake was the best we had ever had. Legitimately, better than Juniors and other highly rated places. Overall, it was all very tasty. The only misses were the fries were soggy and like 1 oyster had not been shucked "perfectly".

The food was amazing. I went to get steak because I heard it is good but it’s not on the lunch menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I tired the jambalaya, oyster and shrimp and they were all really really good. I was skeptical at first but was mind blown as I took my first bite.

While waiting to meet some friends and catch the first game of the World Series this spot caught our eye. After speaking with the host and asking if we could sit at the bar we were welcomed and sat immediately. The place was poppin but still able to easily have a conversation which is both rare, and welcome. The bartender was very quick and attentive to everyone’s needs and orders. We decided on the mushroom pasta, shrimp po-boy, alligator bites a tall fall ale and mimosa. The fall ale was perfect and the mimosa was refreshing. The alligator bites were delicious according to my wife, the shrimp po-boy came loaded with shrimp on a bed of more shrimp but came without remoulade and was somewhat dry (be prepared to dress it up yourself). The mushroom pasta….. Lord have mercy!! That dish was in a category of its own, and was absolutely delicious!!! I cannot recommend that one enough. All in all we truly enjoyed this spot and you should give them a try.

Table for 2 for Lunch I had this place in mind for our 1st stop in New Orleans, so we took a quick 15-minute walk over from our hotel. We entered without a reservation, and were able to get a table for two for lunch. When asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating, we chose inside, it was a little too warm for Wifey this time around. 😁 They led us to a perfect high-top table just behind the bar, and our server, Kristen T, greeted us right away with menus. All the beers offered are brewed in house. I ordered a flight, while Wifey went with the Weiss. The beers arrived quickly, and we decided to add a couple of appetizers; I opted for the hot wings and Wifey ordered the bang bang shrimp. The wings came with a sweet and spicy sauce that Kristen told me was not that hot, it ended up being a good choice. Kristen mentioned she was new, but we couldn’t tell. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of. The flight was excellent, and my surprise favorite was a Vienna-style pilsner called the Red Stallion. From where we sat, I only noticed one small TV, so it’s probably not the spot to catch a game. There’s also an upstairs area, which our server said is often booked for parties. She also pointed out that the space almost doubles as a museum, with artwork displayed on the walls and most of it available for purchase. While we were there, a live band started playing, which added another highlight to the experience. I went upstairs to check it out and found a huge interior dining area and a balcony overlooking Decatur Street. That’s definitely where I’ll plan to sit next time. Overall, it was such a great setup that I found myself thinking, I could have stayed there all day.

The cheesecake is one of the best we have ever had! Oops . . I need to back up and start at the beginning. Off on the wrong foot as there was a mix-up as to who had our table. Of course I had the 6 beer flight with some real winners and a couple that were just OK. Wife had the shrimp and grits, not as BBQ as expected but very good. I had the trio & the shrimp and grits was my favorite of the three. To top it off we had the cheesecake and it was tremendous. They use a different cream cheese here in NOLA and it was special.
JF B — Google review
I visited on a whim after I got checked my hotel. I was starving but was greeted by smiles and was sat in Perry’s section. They had some nice live jazz music going and all the NOLA vibes were there. Perry was very sweet and offered up some nice suggestions. I went with a salad , just so I had room for the crème brûlée. The salad was great and chicken very flavorful… but the star of the show was the crème brûlée. Everything was great, and the staff all greeted me with smiles and even made small talk (I’m traveling alone). Definitely give this place a try!

Jacques-Imo's is a vibrant and popular dining spot in the heart of Uptown's Oak Street, offering a unique blend of French and Italian influences with Creole soul food. Established in 1996, this quirky restaurant is known for its lively atmosphere and mural-lined walls. While there may be a wait due to its popularity and no-reservation policy, guests can enjoy live music at neighboring bars while waiting to be seated.
Super fun, super funky, great food, great service, great prices! We heard there's usually line 30 people deep when they open on weekdays, but there was no wait at all on Saturday. We had the eggplant dish, which was called a hidden gem. Eggplant haters, fear not, it's a fried eggplant under a pile of delicious seafood. We also had The Godzilla, which was a special that day. Super delicious as well. Two people could easily share an entree, especially if you're trying starters or having dessert. I would come back for the staff, which were so friendly and fun.

My boyfriend said this was a top 5 meal of his life. We were in NOLA for the weekend and wanted to find an off-the-beaten path spot. Jacque-Imo's is known by locals, but was a great find! We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but the bar next door had live music and it was just fine to hang out. The fried grit cakes were outstanding and we loved the snails too. My boyfriend god the redfish and I got the grilled grouper. It was all so good and very reasonably priced. Our server, Danny, was so nice and attentive. Definitely a must-visit!
Rose D — Google review
Jacques-Imo’s calls itself “Real Nawlins Food” and honestly, that’s no lie. Their food is solid, flavorful, and cooked with care. Over the years, though, my diet has shifted (no pork, no beef), which limited my sides options this visit. I had my eye on the butter beans and m cabbage, but both contained pork, so I settled for the coleslaw and sweet potatoes. My husband ordered the butter beans and rice. He said the beans were salty. The coleslaw was crisp and refreshing, the sweet potatoes comforting but portioned more like a dollop than a serving. The star, as always, was the fried chicken crispy, juicy, and cooked to perfection. And I can’t forget the complimentary cornbread muffins: warm, moist, and absolutely delicious. Overall, Jacques-Imo’s remains a dependable spot for authentic New Orleans flavors. If you have dietary restrictions, your options may be a little narrow, but the fried chicken and cornbread alone make the visit worthwhile.

One of the highlights of our long weekend in New Orleans … every single thing we ordered was amazing! Our waitress was the best and super helpful and informative throughout the meal. Wow! I've heard about this place and always wanted to go. During our New Orleans vacation we took the streetcar and then walked a couple blocks over to it. I just wanted a piece of the alligator Cheesecake to go, it was super busy in there. (Will make reservations for dinner when we go back to New Orleans). It's really neat! There's art all over the inside by the bar, cool moody vibes, friendly bartenders. Got the famous Cheesecake to go, I think it was like $17 or $18 for one slice. And let me tell you! I'd happily buy it again and again! Wow! It was so good! Really unique. I like this place. Looking forward to going back one day.

Drinks? They know how to pour! • The mango mimosa was a sweet tropical escape in a glass • The mint julep was smooth, crisp, and packed a refreshing punch Big shoutout to the crew that made our visit unforgettable: • Carl, our waiter—super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home • Macy & Kiki brought the personality and energy that truly elevated the whole night Pro tip: Order as soon as you sit—Jill in the kitchen keeps it moving, and trust me, you want your food in that first round! Casual place. We had lunch there. Food was below average. Fish had bad taste like it was spoiled. I told our server Carl R about this issue, but he ignored it and just kept pushing us to order drinks from the bar. Also, thay used a cheap trick to make a dish volume visually bigger. They put three chunks of bread on the bottom of the plate and cover bread with fried seafood. 🙄 Check my photos. Nothing special about this place.

Our food was delicious! (If you like red beans and rice, I highly recommend it) Fair prices for the French quarter and conveniently situated near Jackson square and the French Market. This does make it loud and the area (not the restaurant) is a bit chaotic. However, I think this is a great offering in the French Quarter with fair prices.

The first time we came here the food was really good and it still is good. I was shocked when I got a kids size container of cajun jambalaya and two small drinks $45. I did add shrimp... the shrimp was great the jambalaya was okay. I wont order that again. I dont remember what I ordered the first time but I would still go back. Just felt like I was ripped off.

Restaurant
When it comes to down-home favourites in the heart of New Orleans, few places come close to Dooky Chase Restaurant. This family-owned landmark has been serving up Southern staples since 1941, and its stunning art deco interior is a real sight to behold. The restaurant is also famous for its role in the civil rights movement - many of the leaders who met here during that turbulent time are still regular customers today.
If you want a historic dinner with good fried chicken, add this to your list for sure! They do have a dress code, it's posted on their website, so be sure to check that out. Also, make sure to get a reservation. The fried chicken was juicy and balanced, not too salty. The gumbo was nice, had some spice, but not a lot. My friend enjoyed his red fish. Service was helpful and gave suggestions! Be sure to look at the photos around you! There are stones with famous people who have been to Dooky Chase outside the restaurant. Make sure to come here if you're visiting New Orleans.

We walked a mile from Saint Louis No 1 Cemetery to Dooky Chase, it was a bit sketchy walking underneath Interstate 10, with a few homeless encampments. Other than that it was totally worth the walk. We had no reservations for lunch and the restaurant was really busy. Fortunately, we got hooked up and had a fantastic lunch in such a legendary spot. The restaurant is a must visit. Probably best to get a reservation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ——————————————————————————————————

What a beautiful experience. The art on the walls and the appreciation of history is just facet of an overall experience that cant be overstated. The food is traditional creole faire but so well executed. Simplicity and technique are what made the fried chicken or the seafood platter truly memorable. The gumbo was so delicate and flavorful. The staff are young and vibrant and make it easy to over look little things like getting lemonade instead of water. The atmosphere made this one of the highlights of my dining adventures in New Orleans.

The restaurant could rely on its history alone but it doesn’t. The outstanding food and service match it’s reputation. We visited Dooky with a party of 10’and it did not disappoint. The famous gumbo is famous for a reason. I enjoyed the shrimp Clemenceau. The redfish and fried chicken were standouts as well. If you’re visiting the area Dooky’s will definitely be a highlight and a don’t miss!

This restaurant is an institution, but they don't rest on their laurels - the reputation is well earned, with delicious local food served in generous portions. The fried catfish was enough for 2 people and the Creole was delicious.

Rich history, delicious gumbo, but I never received my main meal. I waited for over an hour, people that were seated after me received their meal. This was my first visit and it was ruined. I was so looking forward to having a meal at this historic venue. Leah Chase was one of a kind, and it was an honor to meet her in the past. I truly wanted to experience her restaurant for myself. But this experience just ruined all my excitement

Dooky Chases’s is a slice of Southern Heaven. Mrs. Leah’s Southern hospitality and delicious cuisine was an enjoyable dining experience. Beautiful people and it felt like home. Lovely atmosphere. We will definitely return with more of our friends and family. 💛

My goodness, this place is Fantastic. We got there about 11:20, just before the lunch rush hit. The local is are is awesome. I wish I remember my waitresses name, she was so sweet. Everything we had was so good. There was no wait & the service was awesome. The fried oysters were soo good. I haven’t had good ones like that since moving from the Ca coast. This place is worth the stop.

Had the best time here! Food was amazing and the servers were all fabulous!! Catfish was HUGE, meal was served quick. Definitely a good trip in!

Will I come back? Yes. Is there room for improvement? Yes. The food was absolutely delicious. No two ways about it. The atmosphere was classic New Orleans. Scratched all the itches. It was raining on arrival and the entrance was tough for my walker toting mom to get in. The bathroom was flooded out and I had to pick between company in the bathroom stalls, earthworm swimming in one and the unofficial mascot of New Orleans, the roach, in the other. The server got the order right but seemed to hate her job. Food there is ultimately the game cincher. If the food had been average, I probably would not return.

My family and I wandered in to find what I think is probably a neighborhood jewel. It had the feel of a pub and the food was good. We had the charbroiled oysters and a cup of the gumbo. The children had chicken and grilled cheese. The artichoke appetizer wasn't for us, but the staff removed it from my ticket no problem. The staff was also friendly with my children. Everyone was full and happy.

The chargrilled oysters were the best I’ve ever had. And, the fried oysters were FANTASTIC! Our server was awesome. She had a great personality, very attentive but not too attentive. Highly, highly recommend!

We were recommended to visit for some delicious food and we were not steered wrong! Tried a few delicious things, shrimp po boy, gumbo, red beans and rice with grilled chicken, the spinach and artichoke dip to name a few. It was all made with love. Absolutely delicious. The servers were kind, even went out of their way to give my daughter a book and all of my kids stuffed animals.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem looking for somewhere to eat. The feel of a neighborhood pub with delicious food. Our waitress, Terry was a doll. My husband and I had the special of the day Fried Catfish with shrimp maque choux. Highly recommend it.

Frankie & Johnny’s was the first restaurant I tried when I visited New Orleans. I had the charred oysters and the Po-boy. They both had a lot of flavor and I definitely wanna have the charred oysters again. Definitely check this restaurant out!

This place was so casual and fun! I loved the atmosphere, and the restaurant was surprisingly big inside. They were playing Halloween music, and the staff were in costumes. Our waitress was an absolute doll, so friendly and easy to talk to. We ordered the fried onion and peppers, and LET ME TELL YOU!! The fried peppers were so dang good!! As was the red beans and rice. I can't recommend this place enough.

Nestled in the heart of the Central Business District, Daisy Mae's Southern Fried Chicken & Breakfast is a charming eatery that captures the essence of classic American Southern cuisine. This cozy spot is perfect for any meal of the day, offering an extensive menu filled with beloved breakfast staples and Cajun delights. A must-try is their signature Southern Fried Chicken, served alongside a fluffy biscuit and your choice of sides like potato salad or crispy onion rings.
WOW 😳 That was an AMAZING dinner. My Lady and I were staying at the Hotel Le Pavilion and walked over to try Daisy Maes, and it was everything you could have wanted in Louisiana Cuisine. She had chicken and waffles, and i had the 3 piece chicken with fries, and everything they brought out was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We got a side of Potato Salad and finished it off with bread pudding, and everything was as tasty as it could be. The Bloody Marys were voted best by some magazines, and they were also very good. I would not skip this place, especially if you're staying at any of the hotels within walking distance. This place was so good, and it deserves nothing less than 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

We went here for breakfast. Very quaint place. I ordered shrimp n grits, and my daughter ordered a seafood omelet that came with crawfish and shrimp. There was absolutely NO seasoning. My grits, had no cheese, salt. And I asked for bacon on top, why was it so burnt. My daughter liked her omelet and she thought it was fine but I tasted and there was absolutely no seasoning at all. The cooks are not authentic to New Orleans so keep that in mind.

My food was delicious! Alligator sausage seasoned well. Red beans and rice creole style and the biscuit was so fluffy. Gravy was smooth, the restaurant is small and there is a bar. Get the male server w/ golds; he got me seated fast, my bill came quickly and cleaned my table throughout the process

Anika was spot on with our orders even though it was 4 couples she served. Helene was very attentive making sure I was satisfied with my order. Great experience and I will be back to eat here again. Down in the Big Easy for a vacation and was looking forward to trying the famous fried chicken of the great American south. Haha, this was some of the worst chicken that I'd had in my entire life!!!! Chicken was tiny and mostly consisted of crisp, and the meat was tough and shriveled. Felt like I was eating a plate of fried bread crumbs with some chicken jerky. The jambalaya and shrimp/grits were fine, nothing to rave about though. The best part of the meal was our server, Nicholas. He is a gent and good waiter. If I had to pick between a good meal with a bad server or a good server with a bad meal, I'd prefer the latter. But I shouldn't be picking either or, should I?

I walked over from Homewood Suites bc it was a rainy day and the restaurant is right across the street. Cute place. It wasn’t crowded. The server was friendly. My chicken was fried too hard so the coating was crumbly instead of crispy., The breast was dry. I’ll admit the seasoning was pretty good. The serving of red beans and rice was small with a spoon of rice. 2 hush puppies were on the side. My daughter had a cheese steak poboy which she said was ok. I was hoping to experience the great food the other reviews described but unfortunately it was nothing to write home about. Just fair.

Morrow's is a trendy restaurant located in the historic Faubourg Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans. It offers a unique fusion of classic New Orleans cuisine and authentic Korean BBQ dishes, all crafted by a mother and son chef duo. The restaurant boasts an electric modern aesthetic, soulful 90s R&B music, and handcrafted specialty drinks.
Title: Outstanding Dining Experience at Morrow’s! From the moment we walked in, Morrow’s delivered an unforgettable evening. The warm, welcoming atmosphere set the tone, and every dish—from the appetizers to dessert—was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The music was a whole vibe—upbeat yet relaxing, creating the perfect backdrop for great food and conversation. Our waitress, Mykia K, made the experience truly exceptional. She greeted us with a bright smile, offered thoughtful recommendations, and anticipated every need without ever hovering. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made us feel like valued guests. If you’re looking for a place that blends delicious food, an amazing soundtrack, and first-class service, Morrow’s is the spot. Be sure to ask for Mykia K—she’ll make your meal even more memorable. *9 October 2025* Traveling from Atlanta. I stayed on the Naval Base in Belle Chasse, and they recommended this spot. My cocktails were marvelous! Rich was my bartender. He gave me my second cocktail on the house, which made the cocktail taste even better! Lol. Rich helped me narrow down my appetizer and entrée. It was a consensus with the other diners, who sat across from me, that my final choices were it! But in my opinion, the crab claws were just okay. I've tasted better down in Atlanta. Not only that, but the crab claws down there are typically no more than $17.99 at the various restaurants I dine at around the city. Here at Morrow's, they're $24. The markup isn't devasting, so I still ordered it. I was assuming since I was in NOLA, those crab claws would have been out of this world, but they weren't. Just average. My ramen bowl was just okay. They had the crab soaking inside of the broth, which made the crab meat gooey and mushy and liquidy. I could not eat the crab like that and ended up throwing it away. My ramen bowl did not come with the promised mussels. I did not realize this until later. Had I realized this sooner, I would have mentioned it there. Customer service was great! Sitting at the bar was fun. Despite what I said, I would totally come here again, but I'd try different dishes instead.

My experience at Morrow’s was great! My server was very attentive, and personable. One of the managers even came by to see how my meal was and offered me to-go packaging items. I loved the oysters, crab bread, and pasta. My catfish was a little salty for my taste, but really crispy. I came for the Gumbo Ramen, but they only sell it on certain days. That is a bummer for out-of-town guests. Overall, I loved my experience and would go back again.

If I could leave 6 stars I would. This was the best meal we’ve had since we’ve been here. Our waitress Gabby was phenomenal. She had impeccable energy and amazing suggestions. The food is unmatched. The red fish yeah was out of this world!!! There aren’t even enough words to describe the depths of flavors. We cannot wait to come back. Best spot in New Orleans hands down. And the music was ON POINT. A whole vibe

We chose this restaurant after asking around to folks on “must eats”. Morrow’s did not disappoint. Red beans with rice was flavorful, chicken wasn’t the best piece I’ve ever had, but definitely still good. My daughter said the gumbo was good, but the star of the show was their bread pudding. My lord I’d order that for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All in all it’s a great ambiance! The manager on duty was funny and took his time talking to all his tables, I appreciated that! We’d definitely come back from the Carolina’s every time!

The food was really good. The drinks was good as well. We really enjoyed ourselves here. This was my birthday weekend so it ended perfectly. The service was amazing our bartender was very good at suggesting items we should try.
Caparica J — Google review
We came to Morrow’s to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, expecting a memorable meal at one of New Orleans’ most talked-about Black-owned restaurants. While the food was flavorful, the overall experience was a letdown. Our check was nearly $300, yet we were still told we had to pay for a birthday dessert. Tacky and tone-deaf for a special occasion. On top of that, our server acted like taking care of us was a chore. You can tell it’s all about the money here, not hospitality. Sadly, this place did not live up to the hype. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values your business.

My new favorite weekend brunch place. Sitting by the window, we had spectacular views of so many types of aircraft. Our server was delightful and attentive, even when she was so very busy. The gumbo was delicious and filled with crabmeat. The omelettes were light and fluffy and those potatoes are worth a second visit. Thanks for everything.

We had the Veggie Omelet and the Lindbergh Omelet. The Veggie Omelet was good (can't really go wrong). However, the Lindbergh Omelet wasn't so great. Nestled within the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans, Miss River is a culinary gem crafted by the talented Chef Alon Shaya. Drawing from nearly two decades of immersion in Louisiana's vibrant culture and cuisine, this restaurant serves as a heartfelt tribute to the region's grand dining traditions. Guests can savor an array of exquisite dishes that highlight local ingredients, such as whole carved buttermilk fried chicken and salt-crusted Gulf red snapper infused with rosemary and lemon.
Elevated southern cuisine at the Four Seasons New Orleans. Can't go wrong, right? We had the oysters en brochette and the fried chicken to share with the crab boiled smashed potatoes. Everything was great but the chicken was the star of the show, it was crispy and juicy and seasoned perfectly. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. This place was suggested by a friend, I definitely owe her a favor now.

The location is beautiful. The space is very well appointed, and being in the Four Seasons makes it feel super fancy. The food, however, was average, I felt like. For the prices that were commanded, I would have expected a much better product. Nothing was really wrong with the food, but nothing really stood out about it either.

Miss River, located inside the Four Seasons New Orleans, was such a great dining experience for our family of four! The restaurant is beautiful and elegant, yet still welcoming. They easily accommodated us and our two girls, who loved how “fancy” it felt. Our server, Matt, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He made great recommendations and really added to our experience. We started with the sweet potato brioche, and it was absolutely incredible - soft, warm, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The butter they served with it complemented it perfectly! I ordered the New York strip, and it was simply amazing - one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. My husband got the redfish courtbouillon and really enjoyed it as well. Everything from the service to the food was top-notch. We’d definitely come back the next time we’re in New Orleans!

I came here for my birthday brunch and I loved it! The service was top notch and the food was great! I did a large party brunch so of course my entire party wasn't there when I arrived lol. At first, they told me and my friend we couldn't sit until our entire party arrived so we went and got drinks at the chandelier bar. However, a few minutes later we were told we could come and the bartender actually comped our drinks when he heard it was my birthday. So sweet. With the large party brunch there is an $85 pp pre fixed menu. This includes 1 cocktail, 1 appetizer and 1 entree. They were out of boudin which was a slight bummer. Most of us got the flaming espresso martini which includes a table side presentation that is fun. I got the oyster patty and the pain perdue which were both delicious. For dessert I ordered a cake but Michael also gave me beignets on the house. So so sweet! Everything was delicious and Michael was an absolute gem!

The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel is a historic establishment housed in a landmark building from 1863. Situated just one block away from the vibrant Bourbon Street, it offers elegant and stately guest rooms equipped with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy the rooftop pool, spa, hot tub, fitness center, and business center during their stay. The hotel also features a renowned bar serving classic cocktails intertwined with local history and an on-site Italian restaurant.
Two queen beds one bedroom suite. We stayed in a suite that was beautifully decorated and felt very luxurious. The room included two complimentary robes, and the step-in shower was spacious with multiple water settings and great pressure. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the suite itself was large with plenty of room to relax. The interior of the hotel was also elegant and well-kept. We dined at the Fountain Lounge, which served good food, and enjoyed an excellent breakfast at Teddy’s Café—the food was delicious. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and we would definitely return. It was well worth the price, especially considering the great rate we received.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone visiting New Orleans! 💛

One of the best Waldorf (and Hilton brand hotels) I've stayed at. New Orleans was meant to be a "one and done" trip, but this hotel may have changed my mind and want to come back! The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. What really elevated it was the hospitality service and food where it made the experience truly a 5-star hotel. Every food selection we've had was grand and high quality - they do not skimp out on the portion size and the seafood in the dish (ie - crab, salmon, fish, etc), which was pleasantly surprising. We received a free upgraded room due to being diamond members - their king sized bed is so comfortable! However, I am knocking off 1 star for their communication. You will get a different answer at the reception desk depending on who you talk to. Because of this miscommunication and misunderstanding, I spent quite a bit more than I would have due to believing I had a variety of offerings in F&B credit throughout my stay (even after I asked many times to triple confirm this). There were other moments of receiving different answers (ie check out time) as well. But now I know better for if/when I come back. Overall, still a great experience and highly recommend!

Everything about our stay was great. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay at The Roosevelt was absolutely wonderful. The hotel’s location is perfect, just a short walk to all the main attractions. The service was impeccable; every staff member we encountered was thoughtful, kind, and genuinely helpful, from the housekeeping team to the room service. While the rooms are a bit dated, they’re very comfortable, and the beds are exceptionally cozy. A quick note for travelers using UK plugs: the converters don’t work very well, so it’s best to use the appliances provided by the hotel. A special thank-you to Randy and Jon, the two doormen, they were incredibly helpful throughout our stay.

My first impression of the hotel started when I got out of the cab and a friendly door man came and opened the door and grabbed by bags for me. During my stay, housekeeping was always available and close by. I had a coughing spell in the lobby and staff gave me a bottle of water. My room was clean and the king size bed was very comfortable and I slept so good. I had incredible water pressure and lots of clean towels. I stayed a week for a work conference and it felt like home away from home. I ate at the Fountain Lounge a few times and again, pretty amazing service. They even helped me cut a piece of thread hanging from my suit. It's always great to be in New Orleans but this visit was extra special!

We arrived at the Roosevelt after a hectic travel day at 7PM. We had a one bedroom suite booked and were attending a wedding at the hotel. As a Platinum AMEX member and a Hilton Gold member we are entitled to an upgrade when available. I asked the young lady at the front desk if there were any suites available with a seperate powder room. Her response was....NO. That was the explanation. Now i could look past that since I am sure it was a busy weekend at the hotel however her terse response was borderline disrespectful. After providing her my identification and credit card she excused herself and proceeded to go into the back office. At least 5 minutes passed (no exaggeration) when she came back to tell us that our room was not yet ready. Remember, it was 7 PM when check in is at 3. I insisted that they have many suites in the hotel and surely she could find one that was available. Again she went into the back room and emerged to tell us they did have another one which was ready. When we went into the room there was a welcome bag from a wedding. Unfortunately it was for another wedding and not the one we were attending. When we went downstairs we asked at the front desk if we could have the welcome gift for the wedding WE were attending. I was told that I needed to go the the bell stand and they would take care of it. I was told by the gentlemen on duty at the bell stand that he could not provide that to us and he would have to ask his supervisor who was on a break. At this point it was comical and i really did not press to get my bag with chips and advil. One other note regarding the room. I am sure the view from the 9th floor was interesting however the windows were so covered with dirt and crud that it was impossible to see. Couch cushions were so dirty that we did not dare to sit on them. If someone in management would like to verify the room issues, i was in room 20929. I could continue on regarding the slow service in the coffee shop. Ordered a salad and 20 minutes later just told them to forget it and left. If I really wanted to pile on I could mention the entire tower two elevators malfunctioning causing us to use the tower one lifts and having to walk through the hallways to get to our room. I rarely write a review and the reality is that this hotel is almost always at capacity so these issues will fall on deaf ears, but I felt fellow travelers should be aware before choosing this hotel. Needless to say my next visit to NOLA will not include the Roosevelt. Just a very disappointing experience.

We went to visit New Orleans on a wim. I have to say that the stay at Roosevelt Hotel was just incredible! When we arrived late in the evening, we checked in. Wanting to have a dinner before we retired. We walked up to the room and saw that it was across From an elevator. I didn’t want to have the sound of the elevator from our room so we decided to ask for a room change. We went to dinner in the hotel and came back to get an updated room …to make a long story short The night hotel manager, Mr. Houston, not only changed our room gave us a great upgrade! Since we were staying for four nights, it was a wonderful surprise. I would like to thank the hotel and Mr. Houston for giving us a great stay in New Orleans. I would recommend the Roosevelt for anyone who want to have a Great experience in New Orleans!

Mister Mao is a vibrant and unapologetically inauthentic restaurant located in Uptown. The establishment, opened by Chef Sophina Uong and her partner William Wildcat Greenwell, offers a fusion of Southeast Asian, Mexican, and Indian influences. Despite its name, the restaurant is not Chinese but rather named after the couple's cat.
We were seated right away, we ordered some delicious cocktails and we ordered the two person brunch special. The atmosphere of the restaurant is super eclectic and cute, but it was very hot and there were a couple large parties that made it loud, our waiter offered to seat us in the cocktail lounge when we first sat and I wish we took him up on that ha oh well. The food was delicious and the two person brunch special could have fed four people haha we took some home. Overall very fun and delicious.

4/5 stars, hands down. The service, food, and ambiance at Mister Mao were top-tier. If you’re in NOLA for brunch, do yourself a favor and go for their $50 brunch deal—it’s designed for two people and is more than enough to leave you happy and full. And let me tell you… their San Francisco Garlic Noodles will change your life. OH. MY. GOD. Buttery, garlicky, slightly fishy, and packed with umami—it’s the best dish I’ve had in a while. Honorable mentions go to the broccoli, rice dumplings, and their salad *chef’s kiss*. Now, about the bottomless mimosas—this is where they lost a star. The menu lists them at $35, but we were charged per person, bringing our total to $80 for two (after taxes). The fine print wasn’t clear, and even our waiter seemed surprised. While I get that restaurants have to make a profit, transparency is key—especially when it comes to pricing. If each person is paying separately, then each person should get their own bottle of champagne, period. The manager attempted to explain, but the reasoning didn’t hold up. That said, this place is still a must-visit, and I’d absolutely recommend it—just be mindful of the mimosa situation. Go for the food, stay for the exceptional service, and prepare to be wowed.

Wow, what an incredible experience! We had almost everything on the menu and loved it all. Our waiter was awesome, so fun and gave us some great recommendations for our time in NOLA. This is more of a locals spot, we were actually told by a local that this was one of the coolest spots in town. Would definitely love to come back on our next visit.

Wow, wow, WOW!!!! I had been here once before but I decided to take my partner for our anniversary and I seriously could not recommend it more. The atmosphere is immaculate, gorgeous decor, incredibly friendly and helpful service staff, just super cute and vibey overall. We decided to split a couple of dishes (our eyes were a bit bigger than our stomaches lol) but every single dish was a standout. This is a perfect place for a date or celebrating a nice occasion without having things feel too stuffy or uptight. GG was our server and she delivered! Incredible recommendations, super attentive and overall a sweet and knowledgeable server. Highly recommend the kashmiri chicken (the pineapple is KILLERRRR) and ginger salad. Dessert and drinks were phenomenal as well. The house-made fireball is also EXCELLENT, a delicious blend of cinnamon and whiskey that feels like a cozy winter night in a shot glass 🩷 Cannot wait to come back!!!

Such a great + creative menu! The cocktail program was fantastic, great flavors overall with thoughtful touches throughout - you can tell everyone there loves great service and food, presentation and menu concepts were really so interesting and above and beyond delicious!

Overall, mister mao was good. They had a $50 set menu with 5-6 dishes on tjere. Garlic noodles were the best starter. Definitely a unique menu with lots of different options, especially the Indian version/style foods that were incorporated.

Had the BEST brunch this weekend with two friends at Mister Mao. We ordered the pre fix menu for two and ordered a few other dishes. Plus the bottomless mimosas. Everything was delicious. I really loved all the dumplings and the garlic noodles!!! Our server's name was Connor and he was SO attentive, gave us such great recommendations and was helpful and available without being overbearing or hovering. The music gave the atmosphere such a fun vibe and it was apparent we weren't the only diners having the best time ever.

Mr. Maos for me was completely unexpected in the best way. Another eclectic restaurant whose food is asian with touches of Indian and mexican. Absolutely delicious. I rate based on overall experience and this was a great one. Sam was a wonderful waiter. Personable, happy at his job and seemed very proud of the food that was being served. As this is a sharing restaurant he gave us an idea of how many dishes to order based on our parties size and then when we were ordering told us if what we ordered was good for our group size. The pani puri and fried chicken from the spicy portion of the menu were great. Chicken was extremely crunchy but still juicy and had a nice heat but definitely not overly spicy. The pani puri was very interesting. Its a hollow crunchy shell that the spicy mint water was poured into. You pour as much or as little of the mint water as you want so you control the heat level of each bite. Very fun and tasty. Strawberry chaat was a fun salad with crispy bits and tons of flavor. Hanger steak was cooked and seasoned well, probably one of the least inventive dishes but would order again. Most items we tried were new to us but would happily eat all of them again. A fun lively restaurant with inventive food, an overall great experience.

Manchu Kitchen is a no-frills Chinese grocery store and dine-in spot located in a low-slung purple building in Treme. The place is known for its fried chicken wings, yakamein, po' boys, and egg rolls. Customers often have to place their orders at a bulletproof glass window but the service is fast even for massive catering-sized orders. The fried wings are particularly popular and addictive, served with sides like fries or shrimp fried rice and a side salad.
I always go to Manchu because the chicken is always hot, fresh, and delicious. You get a lot of food for a great price, and they’re super fast! The portions are huge, and the staff is always friendly. Definitely my go-to spot for tasty, affordable chicken.

Being from Houston, TX when you order shrimp fried rice, that's what you get. I did not open the rice until I arrived back at my sister's house. MY MISTAKE! To my surprise, I did not know what the small orange stuff was on top of the rice! I thought it was carrots at first. As I looked further, it appears they put dehydrated shrimp on top of the rice. Who does this at their price? The fried chicken was good. It was hot, crispy, seasoned well and not salty. I spent a total of $158.00 for 150 chicken wings and a large shrimp fried rice! I started to bring the rice back!! Come on Manchu, yall can do better with the shrimp fried rice!!

Atmosphere doesn’t matter. I’ve been in New Orleans for 4 months and this is only the 2nd satisfying order of fried chicken I’ve had. I ordered the 10 piece with rice. The wings were perfectly crispy and crunchy and seasoned all the way through. The rice was rich and fluffy. I payed under $10 for my meal, and couldn’t eat the whole thing in one sitting. Good stuff y’all!

WORST Chinese food that I have ever had!! I was working in the area but had never tried this place, before. And I kept it simple for my 1st visit & ordered shrimp fried rice but the shrimp were tiny & from a can. The rice itself was tasteless, gummy & bland. I ordered sweet & sour sauce on the side which costs extra. The sweet & sour sauce tasted like vinegar & was not sweet at all. Overall, my order was completely inedible & went in the trash. I will not be returning.

Ruby Slipper Cafe is a popular chain of cheerful cafes with nine locations across the country, offering a relaxed atmosphere and signature omelets, Southern brunch dishes, and cocktails. Originating in New Orleans, each location boasts a full bar. The cafe is known for its Southern-meets-Cajun breakfast fare, including BBQ shrimp & grits and Chicken St. Charles served with poached eggs and pork tasso cream sauce.
Arrive early or make a reservation if you are able too, it will avoid the line of waiting, it is that great. Quick service once seated, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Lots of delicious food to choose from, reasonable prices for quantity. Excellent customer service, one of the best breakfast / brunch restaurants we have dined in, highly recommend.

My cousin and I met Steven and Chrissy at the Hope lodge (a hotel for patients having treatments for cancer) where they taught us how to make biscuits and we had so much fun learning, which was a great distraction considering why we're there. We had a awesome time. I was scheldule for surgery than monday so we decided to go to the Ruby Slipper's that saturday. When I tell you the experience was awesome, it was amazing. The staff and the vibe was so on point, and the food was soooo good. Chrissy when I say mixology she was so on point her drinks was oooo we. Steven even the took time to come greet and take pictures with us. This is one stop I will definitely make when i'm in New Orleans.

The Ruby Slipper has a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the service was honestly the highlight of my visit. The staff was so kind and attentive. My meal was just okay overall. The fried green tomatoes tasted like they had been sitting out for a bit, so they lost some of that crispy freshness I was hoping for. The shrimp and grits had good flavor and a nice presentation, just not quite as rich or bold as I expected for a New Orleans spot. Still, I appreciated the hospitality and laid-back vibe. It’s worth a stop if you’re looking for solid service and classic Southern comfort food.

Absolutely amazing!!! I had the trifecta and it was the best eggs Benedict ive ever had. The St Charles and the Bayou shrimp Benny's were so freaking good! We had a friend in our party with Celiac and allergies and Judit took great care to make sure that she had an amazing meal and experience without worrying about her allergies.

This was a good place to have brunch with the food staples of this area of the country. I liked their biscuits and the French toast bites as well. Food comes out quickly and staff check on you often. I think it's good, yet people give it too much hype and make it sound as the best food you could ever try. This is very sweet and artificially flavored or enhanced flavored food, deep fried, breaded, etc., as many things in the States.
Keren S — Google review
Absolutely LOVED Ruby Slipper. There is nothing I can say that wasn't good about this place. We came early in the morning maybe 9:00 AM to eat something before all of the bachelorette activities we needed to do and it was the best idea ever. I wanted an iced coffee, they gave me a delicious iced coffee. We wanted the banana foster beignets and they gave us the most delicious banana foster beignets I've ever had. (Not that I ever had anything like that before.) My friend ordered the eggs and biscuit, and my other friend and I split the chicken and french toast bites with hot honey. It was delicious! I would say it was a tad pricey, we paid $38 for two small dishes, iced coffee, and tip. I don't know is that an average amount? I feel like in NoLa it is. We were 4 girls, and since there was a little bit of a wait, and we were in a rush, they sat us at the bar, which was great! We loved it. I would love to shout-out our waitress Trish, she was AMAZING! I didn't even write her name down because I knew I would remember her. She gave us other recommendations on where to go during our time there, and she was just so good! She was serving, bar tending, cleaning, getting the check, all at the same time! She did it all!

my husband and I came here on our honeymoon trip as it was recommended by a friend. We shared the Trifecta and the French toast bites! The food was delicious and really great portions. I also got their spiced vanilla latte which was really good. It was pretty cold in the restaurant so bring a jacket if you get cold easily like me but that was my only gripe. Service was awesome everyone was very kind and helpful, I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in NOLA.

Hard Rock Cafe is a rock 'n' roll-themed chain known for its high-energy vibe and serving American classics like burgers. The New Orleans location offers the famous Tupelo Chicken Tenders, generously portioned and served with delicious fries. Additionally, the cafe in New Orleans features a prix-fixe menu that highlights the city's musical heritage, allowing guests to choose a 2- or 3-course meal with their preferred musical theme.
I wanted to order the special New york Burger, but it was unfortunately not available:,) . I had the bbq bacon burger instead it was really good but the fries were even better! we waited a while for our food though.
Amelie L — Google review
Given the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street, this was a relatively quiet spot to grab a meal. The service was average, likely due to a shortage of wait staff, as they all seemed to be rushing around. The surf and turf burger was tasty and worth recommending, while the chicken salad was just okay—not particularly special and quite expensive for a salad. A service charge was automatically added to the bill, though it should be optional. Overall, if you're looking for a place to eat, Hard Rock is a decent option, but don't expect outstanding food or service.
Immz — Google review
The decorations and the music are nice. That’s it. Waited more than 30 minutes for food in a nearly empty restaurant. Also waited more than 15 minutes for the bill in a nearly empty restaurant. Food was only ok, so definitely not worth an exceptional wait. Also, a “service fee” was added to our bill for a party of 6 when small print says that it is only added for parties of 8 or more. Didn’t want to risk being stuck inside an additional 15 minutes by disputing. Too many wonderful restaurants unique to New Orleans, and even some chain restaurants, to ever worry about returning to Hard Rock Cafe again.

The worst! This was the nastiest food I've ever had in New Orleans. Went here as a last resort after leaving Bourbon Street late. The restaurant was filthy-food all over the floor, wet floors, dirty tables, etc. The food was old & tasteless. The fries were redropped in dirty grease. My burger was burnt. We are not drinkers, but the non alcoholic drinks were the best tasting items ordered. The server started was really nice, the disappeared for 20-30 minutes. The decor is very nice, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. NEVER AGAIN!

For me, no visit to a new city would be complete without a stop at the local Hard Rock Café, no exception here. For me it's never a place to dine at or check out the memorabilia but to simply buy a souvenir. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant & Rock Shop currently resides on bustling Bourbon Street. The restaurant sports colorful floorboards and a pretty impressive chandelier-like art piece made out of empty bottles that hangs above the bar. The vibe of the restaurant reminded me of a cabaret with ambient lighting and dark, bold colors. ROCK SHOP: Located at the front of the restaurant, t-shirt selection was not bad. I was happy to find a camouflage print with the traditional logo on the front, something I've never seen at other cafes. Oddly, the t-shirt sizes ran very large so I ended up picking a size smaller though I could've gone two sizes smaller if it were available. Service was mainstream. OVERALL: Another t-shirt added to my already packed closet!

We stopped in to the Hard Rock Cafe in the French Quarter, New Orleans Louisiana. Just for a brief respite from walking around. We just ordered a snack of onion rings and a drink. It was refreshing. The surrounds were exactly what you would expect in a Hard Rock. The waitress was delightful and very helpful. We enjoyed the experience.

Lee S — Google review
Yes, there is a Hard Rock Cafe located on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Location and information Address: 125 Bourbon Street. Neighborhood: It is situated in the center of the famous French Quarter, on one of the most popular and crowded streets in the city. Vibe: The New Orleans location opened in 1987 and features memorabilia from iconic Jazz legends. It is known for having a lively atmosphere, but some visitors have described it as a quieter, more relaxed spot compared to the general "joyous madness" of the rest of Bourbon Street. Dining and drinks The cafe serves its standard menu of burgers and classic American fare. You can also enjoy a drink at the bar, such as a signature Hurricane cocktail. Some reviews note that the venue is family-friendly and good for groups. What to expect The cafe features music memorabilia and a gift shop ("Rock Shop"). It can be very busy, especially on weekends, though some reports indicate limited crowds inside compared to the street outside. Because it is located on a busy tourist street, parking is not available on site.

The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to create delicious comfort food. Their menu includes award-winning gumbo, po boys, red beans and rice, and fried green tomatoes topped with Cajun shrimp and crawfish cream sauce.
Excellent service and truly one of the best gumbos our family has ever had! The owner is a very kind and welcoming man. We had a big weekend with a family wedding, and it meant a lot to have such delicious, consistent food during such a special time. It was my mother’s first time attending a Portuguese wedding—since we’re Brazilian, it was a beautiful and meaningful cultural experience for her. Thank you for helping make this celebration even more memorable for our whole family, especially for my cousin and her husband. We really appreciate the warmth and the quality you bring. Great food friendly service. If you joke around with them they dish it right back, of course in a friendly way. Left there with a full bell and honestly some good bread pudding, which I'm or was not a fan of back home but here it's good. We went there on Saturday and couldn't wait for them to open again today on a Tuesday. Amazing place. Saturday is had the chicken and sausage Gumbo and Tuesday I did the jambalaya.

Showed up at 8:20pm (they close at 9) and were seated immediately. Quick and friendly service as well as honest recommendations on the menu items. Ordered the large 20oz Mumbo Gumbo and Jefferson Chicken with a side of Mac n cheese. Planned on sharing the entrees between two adults and they brought the food out with additional plates and bowls to make sharing easier. Had so much food we ended up leaving with some leftovers. Owner came out to check on us and our experience. Loved reading the notes prior customers left on the dollar bills hanging on the walls.

Came here for lunch. We started with fried green tomatoes, which is my wife's favorite dish, and it was really good as it had a neat cajun twist (cream sauce) to it. For the main dish, we had fried shrimp poor boy with potato salad and mumbo gumbo. Po-boy was very good with tasty fillings and toppings, and the bread was fluffy. Gumbo was flavorful and not too spicy. All the portions were generous. Also, I think the staff who talked to us as we were about to leave was Chef Ron but we were distracted by a downpour that started and even though he said nice things we were not so repsonsive. We want to say "thank you" for the delicious food; had a great experience here and want to come back.

We won't be returning. Our gumbo came out tasting like the bottom of the pot was burned. Yall know that chared taste. Our server was Jimmy. We informed him and he brought us out another batch which also tasted burnt. We sent that back and order the scampi with rice to go. Got home and it was tasteless and greasy, we threw it away. The crab cakes were good. They also had a nice presentation. The etoufee was decent, wasn't seasoned well or had good flavor. The veggies were also greasy and burnt. Extremely burnt, you can see it in the pictures. Although the server tried to come up with solutions to the burnt gumbo I gave him a 4 because of a comment made. Everywhere we go my fiance orders fries and while he was ordering I was facetiously playing with my fiance and mumbled " watch he about to get some dang on fried" and Jimmy responded "Ummmm You have to speak up to your man about that" 😑 Now Jimmy.....

I heard the burgers were great here. Came for lunch, pretty full dining area. Sat in the bar area at a table. Ordered a burger, fries well done, and a side salad. Soon, the salad came... I asked the server to make sure the fries were well done, she said she told the kitchen. The burger and fries came (a different server), of course the fries, white and cold. I asked her to take them and please get well done fries. Very polite, no problem. Got me a second plate to put the burger on. I picked up the burger, and between the meat juices and lot o mayo... the bottom bun had disintegrated. Ended up using a knife and fork for the burger. The fries came back perfect. I experience sending fries back 80% of the time. Don't know why restaurants can't do it right the first time. Anyway, nice place, servers are friendly and polite. Food is OK.

Its tricky to find the place, but if you're familiar to that part of Old Metairie under the Causeway bridge you should be able to find it. We booked ahead online so check in was easy. Operating the game system was very complicated, but our server helped us out. The food was ok,but if you're coming here its really not for the food its the atmosphere. They really have a great concept of combining a sports bar with virtual simulated gaming. We hung out and watched some of the NBA playoffs and this seems like a good place to catch sports. They also show mma if you're into that. It was a nice spot to chill and relax

EDIT: Issue was corrected without issue once able to speak with someone directly about the issue. Seems to be an issue with their system not utilizing the “reservation time” but rather the time you get there. Gone here several times for personal and taking clients. Good variety of games and good food selection. However, last visit we pre booked a bay online at the rate listed for that time. Wasn’t until after we left that I noticed the rate was over double than what we pre-booked. I’ve emailed them twice with no response to understand how and why this would happen. It could be an honest mistake and an easy resolution to simply credit back the difference or it could be a sleazy tactic to gain more money. Zero response to my emails so it seems leaving a review is the only way to potentially get a response from someone at the facility.

From the moment we walked in, Alyssa made our entire experience at Loft18 unforgettable. She was not only attentive and professional but brought an energy that truly elevated our visit. Her timing was perfect—drinks, food, and check-ins all arrived seamlessly, without ever feeling rushed or overlooked. Alyssa had a great sense of humor, knew the menu inside and out, and made stellar recommendations that hit the spot. It’s rare to find someone who balances friendliness with flawless efficiency, but she nailed it. We felt genuinely taken care of, like VIPs the whole time. Loft18 is a great spot, but Alyssa’s service is what made it exceptional. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for her by name!

My group and I had a great time at Loft! Made reservations for UFC 318 for 6 people, had an extra person show and they were super accommodating. They have done some remodeling with the addition of even more TVs, a more open floor plan and some cool wall art. Despite how packed it was for the event our glasses were always full and our food came out hot and delicious! Krista often checked on us and several other tables, asking if we needed anything. The amazing atmosphere and service is why I will always suggest Loft!

The food was really good for this type of establishment. The only issue I had was how uncomfortable the seating was for a place you go to watch a game. They need to throw everyone of those stools in the garbage.

Treneice was so attentive and friendly. She made sure the kitchen staff processed my son’s food order according to his wishes. He has autism and is very picky about his food. Great personality. Food was very good. Atmosphere friendly and inviting. We will be back.

Restaurant
Porter & Luke's is a dining establishment located in a shopping center that serves both Creole and Italian cuisine. They offer classic dishes such as pasta, along with a variety of cocktails during their happy hour. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh ingredients to create an authentic menu. Their offerings range from Fried Green Tomatoes and Shrimp Remoulade to Cowboy Ribeye and Fettuccini Alfredo.
The wait staff were very professional, courteous and attentive. Coming by often enough to be engaged without the detracting from our meal. The turtle soup was the meatiest I've ever had! Perfectly seasoned and a generous amount of soup! The fried eggplant is a great appetizer. Lightly breaded with a wonderful thick red sauce. The catch of the day was red fish. Since it did not come with a sauce we asked for it to be served with the sauce that accompanies the fried soft shell crab I highly recommend anyone that orders Seafood from them to also add the sauce from the fried soft shell crab as a perfectly compliments the seafood and they typically do not serve a sauce with their fish. The only reason for marking the atmosphere down it is very loud with just a few people . please install some sound deadening baffles so the people can enjoy themselves much more

We made reservations on the Open Table app and we were seated promptly at our arrival and greeted with a smile by a friendly host. Our server arrived to our table almost immediately after we were seated and took our order and brought us waters. The establishment appeared to be clean although the seating is slightly cramped and outside of the various frantically placed artwork the ambiance is quite bland. Our food was made fresh to order and hot! The food was amazing!!! The friend chicken was crispy although not the most flavorful although the po boy was perfect! This place may lack in aesthetics yet the food is superb! Will definitely recommend and return.

The food and service were 2nd to none. All the food was made of fresh ingredients, you can tell. All the servers showed New Orleans hospitality. We had a great experience and will be back. We had the hot crab dip, gumbo, chicken parm and the red velvet do Berge cake. All were phenomenal. I recommend anyone visiting to make a stop there.
Brian M — Google review
a lot of people had recommended this restaurant so we decided to check it out for lunch. Positives are the great service - we had great service but generally all around the service and attention to the older patrons was amazing. we started off with the onion rings which were decent. we then got the small house, trout almandine, and the eggplant parmesan. the house salad was decent, the accompanying dressing was really good; the trout was big in size and had a good crust but the fish and flavor were bland, and accompanying were green beans and potatoes which tasted like breakfast potatoes; good portion size but a bit bland. the eggplant parm was decent but the flavoring was bland and the eggplants were smaller (there are other places who make the sauce better and bigger eggplants) overall, great service with decent portion food but bland

This is a great place for lunch or dinner. Try the gumbo and triple wedge salad for lunch. Impossible to eat anywhere!! Our server, Brandy is top-notch and super nice. From what I could tell all of the other servers in the restaurant are excellent also. This is definitely one of the best places I have found in Metairie.
Alix P — Google review
Too loud. Food needs improvement. Wedge salad not as pictured. It consisted of Lettuce wedges a tablespoon of crabmeat, 3 shrimp, 3 oysters. It tasted good but not enough. Husbands seafood platter was equally disappointing. Not fresh seemed soggy.

Great local Italian place. Brittany our server was knowledgeable and very friendly. The hot crab dip was the best. All of the food was fresh and delicious. We recommend this place for a great time. Also the poker machines paid out when we played.

Restaurant
Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is a long-standing chain known for its spicy fried chicken and comforting sides, all served in a laid-back setting. Tucked away as a hidden gem among the top 12 hole-in-the-wall restaurants in New Orleans, this spot offers a creative twist on Chinese favorites that keeps patrons returning. Visitors can expect an authentic and unique dining experience in a charming and quirky atmosphere.
First time here and it was AMAZING! Hot, fresh, perfectly crispy outside and still juicy chicken. Mac and cheese and potato salad was spot on. Tried sweet potato pie for the first time and took our servers advise and had it warmed....wow. portions and sizes are perfect, I didn't feel stuffed, but satisfied. Staff was prompt and very friendly. Thank you for a great meal. We will for sure be back when we visit the area again and want to try one of the locations they have in Houston. Definitely worth the bragging rights!!!

The fried chicken was delicious! Spicy but bearable, juicy and crispy. Good fries and coleslaw salad. The music was a little too loud for us, and the server wasn't too friendly tho.
Priscila S — Google review
I had really high hopes for this world famous chicken and it did not live up to the hype. This was my first time trying this place while visiting New Orleans and I must say- I was a slightly disappointed. The greens were my favorite. The beans were too sweet - almost candied in a way so I did not take more than one bite. I personally ordered tenders but my family ordered the fried chicken peices. The chicken pieces were great. Fried to perfection. The tenders were mid, at best. Horrible mac and cheese. I didn't get my jalapeños that I ordered/paid for although the assured me it was in the bag. The staff was cool, however and I would try it again next time I visit, so maybe update the rating.🤷🏿‍♀️
Reca — Google review
As someone who does not eat meat, I'm not the best person to review this place. Others in my group really enjoyed the chicken. The menu is very clear on which items contain pork. I tried a little bit of the coleslaw and some of the fries, which were good. The atmosphere is great and the service is also great. It's a one time experience for me, but my friends would happily return.
N M — Google review
Food is ok. Chicken is spicy...not you'll need ice water but you may need something to drink. Service was ok, unremarkable at best. Atmosphere was boring and unimaginative, a cheap labor day chicken on the floor and a few pictures on the wall. Prices are decent. In a city like New Orleans/Metairie it was an ok experience. The chicken wings were fried hard and other than the heat/spice I really didnt think the chickens flavor stood out. Some radio music was played for entertainment in the background, again it was ok. The staff appeared to be dazed and unmotivated. The best thing was the corn fritters I ordered, again they were ok. The potatoe salad was sweet. 😶‍🌫️🫣🤐 Curious, give it a try. I wont be back. I ordered i guess sink water with lemon and it tasted so funny I left it on the table after the tip.
Nyky W — Google review
I had the three piece dark, spicy with a sweet tea. The chicken was throughly cooked with the right amount of seasoning to give it a little kick. The sweet tea was smooth and went down easy! Sadly, by the time I finished eating, I had no room for dessert! Maybe next time, I'll start with dessert!

Love Gus's chicken! The best chicken!! We tried the ones in Tennessee first and loved it so much and they told us that there's 2 opened in Louisiana!

The new Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken on Veteran’s Highway was very good! Done perfectly, the skin was crispy and slightly spicy, the meat was tender and moist with lots of flavor. My plate came with delicious Mac-n-Cheese and tasty slaw. The other plate came with really good fries. Everything was reasonably priced. Our waitress was friendly knowledgeable and efficient. If you like fried chicken and haven’t had Gus’s then try it out. I will definitely eat here again.

Brother's Food Mart is a hidden gem in Downtown, offering delicious and affordable fried food like chicken and classic meat pies. It may look like a typical gas station, but it's a go-to spot for satisfying late-night cravings. In addition to the great deli offering custom-cut meats for sandwiches, they also serve up hamburgers and deli sandwiches.
I LOVE BROTHERS! I call them Brothers Chicken, cuz THE CHICKEN ROCKS. For $5 to $6 you can get 3 Chicken strips w/or w/o fries, I know what you're thinking, Denyka? Only 3 strips?🤨🫤 These are the BIGGEST, the JUICIEST, the BEST TASTIN STRIPS ON THE PLANET! as far as I'm concerned. This is only an opinion, but hey that's what you read these reviews for right? Maria is one of the sweetest out of the Latina ladies that make them and these girls are pure Gold when it comes to cookin this bird. You can literally eat twice from the portion and the ladies hands were blessed by God in the food and flavor department. The other staff at Brothers are awesome too, like Omar and Wiele (sp? Sry bro😬) (Brothers,😉) Brothers is also a gas station and convenient store, with vapes, smokes, beer, and snacks. It's a convenient store so, yeah some things you will find cheaper at grocery but there's enough selection for when in a pinch you can get dish soap, T.P. for like, $4 bucks and in this economy right now!... that ain't too bad.😁 THANKS BROTHERS! You guys are one of my favorite places and people in New Orleans. ⭐10⭐'s if I could 🥰😜

Typical gas station, however the cashier was on his phone and didn't hear me mention fuel rewards and seemed agitated that I wanted to use them during my transaction. Not my fault he had to start over. Besides that, it is clean and nice selection of snacks.
Charlene ( — Google review
Not sure what is wrong with the new girl making the chicken. She has a horrible attitude and outright refused to do her job. This was a regular spot for me, but not anymore. Half of the pumps are always broken, shelves are barely stocked and crackheads hanging around everywhere. The new owners seem to be the c-store version of slumlords.
Raul J — Google review
Its a good place for a quick trip to get drinks or cigarettes, candy or something from a small stock or misc. It also has a great deli and will cut meats to your desired thickness to take home for sandwiches. Plus they will make you a hamburger or deli sandwich and many other choices. People sometimes hang around out front, they are all good.
Cameron S — Google review
High volume gas station. There's always a cool drink or hot coffee available. Not to mention my personal favorite hot tea. The food counter will fry your selection fresh if requested. Bathroom could use renovations definitely.
Frenchel P — Google review
I go to this Brother's (still) almost every day. It's convenient to where I live and their selection is alright. And most of the employees are friendly; with the exception of the older gentleman and another. These two men are so rude, and lie to customers about their Western Union machine being down, after another employee 'slipped up' and told me it was up and running just fine. These people are lazy and don't want to do their job,and they need to,after telling myself and others EVERYDAY 11 days in a row, that the WU machine was down...well at this point I would recommend taking it out of the damn store, right????
Athena S — Google review
There is a new chick working here that wants all the food for herself apparently. She has brought the place down. I love the other staff there. She will be reported to corporate Monday morning. Hopefully they get her mind right. Photos coming soon.

Located in a bustling area, 3rd Block Depot Kitchen + Bar is a hidden gem with extraordinary and unique food. The atmosphere is beautiful, with open doors allowing a nice breeze to flow through the restaurant. The staff is attentive and accommodating, even inquiring about allergies without prompting. The bartender, Bret, provides impeccable service and shares local knowledge with patrons. The decor is eye-catching and the menu offers a wide selection of strongly seasoned dishes.
This was one of the best meals not only in the US but it challenges France for some of the best meals ever created. The chef provided three meals and all of them left you yearning to come back again and again. Their fruit was so fresh it made you wonder if they pick them right off the branch before they placed it on your plate. Their pastry’s melted in your mouth and their New Orleans staple beignets did not disappoint. The service was amazing, the staff were super sweet and the atmosphere was incredible and we were not rushed out like how you are in so many restaurants. My family and I could not have asked for a better breakfast this Easter weekend.
Jessica S — Google review
Food was amazing however our appetizer arrived 40 minutes after we ordered it and with our entree. I finished my dinner before the server ever came over and she didn’t seem to even notice all our food arrived at once. We finished our water and cocktails without her ever checking on us. She had maybe 5 tables going but gave all her attention to one and walked by ours several times. The atmosphere is so cool. All these bottles lit up. Definitely a cool vibe.

Had to check out the cajun gumbo at 3rd Block Depot after hearing some other NOLA visitors raving about how good it is and soo glad we did. The gumbo was absolutely delicious partly due to the replacement of the traditional rice with mashed potato instead. We were pleasantly surprised how such a small change could impart soo much flavor. If you're a gumbo fan you must try the cajun gumbo at 3rd Block Depot.
MAJ P — Google review
Our server was great (despite being the only one working). Food was fine. Short rib had great flavor, but too fatty. Burger was good. Meat pie appetizer was excellent. Beignets for dessert were exceptional. Drinks were a little disappointing. For a place that markets itself as a creative cocktail place, the menu was very short. Cool space and decor.
Dan I — Google review
Really really good food. Guy working the bar was nice. I had gumbo which was delicious and tasted so fresh and the beignets which were also fresh and like other reviews say- WAY BETTER than the other touristy places. Definitely worth a stop in.
Logan K — Google review
The decor was the major component that caught my attention. It wasn't busy at the time I arrived; however, it seemed to be a popular place since some clients who didn't make reservations ended up leaving the restaurant. Then later on a group of 20+ came to have a good time. There is quite a selection of food on the menu, I had several dishes, they were all quite strongly seasoned. The servers are very attentive to ensure I'm satisfied with my needs and very friendly. Even introduced me to the parade app and recommended areas of interest after knowing how long I'll be in town for.

First morning in NOLA so we had breakfast at 3rd Block since we are staying at the W - New Orleans. Without having any other local food yet, hands down I would not be disappointed if this was the best thing I eat the entire trip. The shrimp Benny was to die for! So fresh and seasoned perfectly. I don’t even have the words for this review! We got to sit by the open doors and look outside on this beautiful morning. Service was wonderful! Already setting high expectations for my first time in NOLA! Highly recommend!

Holy Smokes. Such a cool location! However, we spent about 15 minutes literally alone in the restaurant... no host, bartender, server... nothing. We could have made our own drinks. Food is good, very different than the online menu, but nothing super memorable. Won't be back for dinner... maybe a drink, but it's clear the staff lacks passion.

Key's Fuel Mart is a well-loved establishment with friendly and respectful staff. Despite some negative reviews, many regular customers attest to the excellent customer service and pleasant atmosphere. The store is praised for its cleanliness, well-stocked inventory, and inviting aroma. Customers particularly enjoy the food offerings such as hot table items and po-boys, along with the delightful staff who are known for their positive attitude and sense of humor.
Not sure why this place has negative reviews, but I feel like it’s a great representation of the city. The locals love it and every time I stop in it’s casual because I need to get a drink or some food. It right before you head to the 9th ward, leaving NOLA and is next to a USPS post office. The service is also great! I was there yesterday and I saw one of the owners tell the girl in the kitchen to “give the homeless man anything he wanted.” This spoke volumes, especially being the state of the government that we are in. I’ve always received and seen nothing but great service from the people that work. They are also funny and cool, and the store is always clean on the inside and outside.
JaedotCo — Google review
The staff operating this location are very rude. I was denied service due to having a registered service animal that I'm required to have at all times. Denying handicapped people with service animals access is a violation of the Americans with disabilities act(ADA) which by law is punishable by lawsuit and fines. I'll be contacting my(ADA) rep immediately. Also, the coffee is quite terrible. These people violated my rights to access to basic services and sales.
Antreg V — Google review
The lady who works in the kitchen who wears the bonnet has the nastiest disposition. I shop here literally daily, I asked for an okra plate, rice on the side, extra gravy for my pork chop. Between her and the other lady with the golds being full of attitude, you would have thought I’d asked them to perform open heart surgery. Instead of politely asking me if I’m sure I want it because it’s a dollar to put the rice in a container on the side, she, as she rolls her eyes and huffs and puffs and continually asks condescending questions, gets a sandwich bag to put it in and says that’s how I’m gonna do that. I said where’s the container? Smart remarks followed. I said am I asking something wrong?! Like what’s the issue? Of course they respond with more extreme attitude and ugly remarks. I’m a chef, trust me I know difficult customers when I run across them, and I’m far from that. They’re DEPLORABLE! Last week I was deciding what I wanted with my daughter, she angrily asked me “you know what you want??”, I said one second please. She scoffs and rolls her eyes and walks off to the back and gets on her phone and ignores me when I’m saying excuse me ma’am, I’m ready. We literally didn’t even take one whole minute to decide. I’ve been coming here weekly for years, and those two, particularly the one with the light mustache, has had a nasty attitude literally EVERY TIME I HAVE TO DEAL WITH HER. I walked off and I told the man up front I’d never buy their food again as long as she’s there. It’s not like I was holding up the line with ridiculous requests! I know it’s a hood spot, but trust me, friendly neighborhood spots can be kind and professional! I’m sure they don’t care about losing a few customers, cause I told all my people not to buy from here anymore. But I’m sure they’d get great tips and more service if they treated their paying, EXTREMELY LOYAL, customers better!
Cocoa B — Google review
The two women working the kitchen were very rude. One spoke real fast when answering my questions as if she didn't want to be bothered.
Ishmael C — Google review
If I could give it zero stars, I would. One whole star is way too much! Y'all cooks need to be trained by the cooks on Louisiana Ave. up and down. And the workers need brand new attitudes!
Derrick T — Google review
went there on a weekend, got breakfast, made it to work just figure out it wasn't freshly cooked it was the old food from the day before food was cold 🤮🤦🏾‍♂️ it say's alot about the people who own, operate & work there especially how hey dont care about the African american community they serve which is there number one customer base as long as there pockets full its profit over people.
Showboy I — Google review
I'm (not) a bit shocked to see other 'local guides' on this gimcrack labeling the customer service here as rude. I've been coming here regularly as long as it's been open and all of the staff are decent folks who treat every person with a high standard of dignity and respect. I wouldn't skip this store because some rude poser who doesn't even live here gets their rocks off making baseless accusations without a shred of even anecdotal evidence while they're out on their worst tourist behavior.
Amity A — Google review
I really do like this store and they are very clean and well stocked, nicely smelling. “FOOD BOMB- HOT TABLE & PO-BOYS!!” Not to mention the staff are the most awesome people! Never a Attitude, always telling jokes, they are sure to make you leave with a smile on your face!
