Duluth Grill is a beloved restaurant in Duluth, MN, offering a warm and modern atmosphere with an extensive breakfast menu. The eatery provides locally sourced comfort food with an eclectic twist, such as a creamy Havarti omelet stuffed with house-smoked salmon. Known for its made-from-scratch dishes and fresh ingredients, the restaurant offers hearty options like the Billy Bob Burrito and Deluxe Biscuits & Gravy.
This is a must stop for great breakfast or lunch when near Duluth. It was very busy the day we went, but only a few minutes wait for a table. The servers are all attentive and knowledgeable. They have a good selection of gluten free options. The grits were amazing. The rusted brussel sprouts were great. Delicious thick cut bacon. My family thought the cinnamon roll French toast was the best ever! They have home made lemonade, custom coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, and brunch cocktails. We went at lunch time on a weekday, and it was rather loud. But the food is so good.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My friends and I stopped here this morning on our way into Duluth and I’m so glad we did. The atmosphere was perfect, although it was super busy when we arrived , we were able to get seated fairly quickly! The cleanliness of the restaurant was a HUGE plus , each and every staff member/waiter was so welcoming! To top it off the food was incredible! The Barbacoa has was filled with so much flavor! Can’t say enough about it 🤍 also the farmers eggs was the perfect breakfast for my morning! 10 out of five stars! ⭐️ best part about it is breakfast and LUNCH served all day!! Plates were all beautifully presented!
Alishea C — Google review
Duluth Grill is a great place to grab some breakfast. They have a nice sized menu with takes on classics as well as some of their own special dishes. They even make most things on their menu from scratch even down things like their ketchup and lemonade. We tried quite a few things, and while the cinnamon roll was on the sweeter side it was still moist and fluffy. Everything else we have was very very fresh and not greasy at all. The main thing to note is the wait times. On average you may wait anywhere from 30mins to over an hour for a table depending on party size and where you want to sit. Definitely a must stop for anyone in Duluth looking for a good breakfast.
Ben R — Google review
The Duluth Grill was worth the 40 minute wait! I would definitely plan ahead if you want to eat her during peak hours. We had a party of five and we all had something different. Everybody raved about their food. Service was outstanding too! The standouts were the barbacoa hash and the brussel sprouts.
Jason C — Google review
While it’s quite busy on the weekends, it’s worth it. Great food with local Minnesota North woods flair. There is also a fantastic tea bar with specialty drinks. I return here whenever I’m in the area and I’ve never been disappointed. Great skillets, hash, and burritos (the Billy Bob is out of this world) for breakfast and brunch.
Cortney P — Google review
Lines are long but it is very easy to see why. The food is fantastic, easily the best chicken sandwich of my life. The server (Vera I think) was absolutely fantastic and was extremely careful with allergies. Cannot recommend enough!
Bethany H — Google review
The service was some of the best I've had. The food was delicious. I had the CU Tomago. It was a little difficult to eat but the flavors were amazing. I personally think the Korean brussel sprouts was the best part of the whole meal. I also ordered a Prickly Pear Lemonade-- very sweet and tangy refresher to go with your brunch!
Callie F — Google review
There is nothing better than Duluth Grill after a sunrise photography adventure! Today I had Chili con Huevo and a caramel roll (that I intended to bring home). If I am going to spend money on food at a restaurant it needs to be good. Today's food was perfection. Thank you for taking the time and care to make this experience perfect! See you again soon!

Nestled in the charming port town of Duluth, Minnesota, Northern Waters Smokehaus is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the art of smoked fish and meats. This culinary gem boasts an impressive menu featuring over 25 gourmet sandwiches that highlight locally sourced ingredients.
This is a unique little sandwich shop that offers some amazing sandwiches. They specialize in smoked fish - but everything we had here was good. They have a ton of different sandwich options. After ordering, you'll probably have to wait 10 minutes or so, but it's worth the wait. They also have smoked fish and meats you can pick up in the cooler downstairs.

The Cajan Finn is hands down my favorite fish sandwich! Wow was I blown away by flavors that are incorporated into this masterpiece. It’s worth the money. Friendly staff and short wait time. This sandwich leaves you satisfied.
Clarissa M — Google review
There is a line at all hours for a reason. The food is unreal and vibe is immaculate. Everyone who works there actually cares in some fashion about the place and the product. Pick something up from the deli or the merch wall before you go. Employees for the most part are the artists behind the many items for purchase. Get the Cajun Finn. And the hoodie. Perfection.
Kate — Google review
This is the second time we’ve eaten there, I don’t remember what kind of sandwich I had the first time, but it was absolutely fantastic. So this time I made a huge mistake, not remembering what I had before I ordered the gorilla, not wondering what kind of mustard they had on there. It was Dijon mustard, and that was the only thing I tasted. And it is not my favorite food. So the mistake was all mine. I thought my sandwich was awful, but my wife enjoyed hers. She even offered me part of hers. If the line wasn’t so long, I would’ve gone downstairs and ordered something different. Or maybe the same thing without the Dijon. Aside from that your food is really good, they even have a small deli next-door.
Nobox G — Google review
Food was amazing and decor was so cool with the fish on the walls. Not the easiest for handicap customers very confusing trying to get to bottom floor. Employee that was taking orders was unfriendly and not the most helpful for a first time customer. Seen this location all over TikTok that it was The Place to go. I had "The Big Dipper" had it with the porketta it was a great sandwich but the 3 Pepper Sauce was ICE cold which was a little disappointing I don't think its supposed to be served like that ... It would been a 10/10 with the sauce warm. With how high our lunch was my overall rating is 7.5/10.
Jesse K — Google review
Seriously tasty. I don’t know if I’ve had a more flavorful sandwich ever! Such a cool place, perfect amount of offerings. Everything they have is intentionally curated. Good luck trying to choose! Awesome location, although the parking situation isn’t great. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in Duluth!
Maeden J — Google review
Put in an order in advance (checked around noon - 1:30 and 1:30 were fully booked but managed to get a mid week 2 PM order in, it worked out since we were at Jay Cooke and by the time we drove into Duluth and enjoyed the lake walk area, our sandwiches were ready for us at the pickup counter, no wait). Delicious Cajun Finn - a perfect sandwich!! We also enjoyed the Italiansk though we found it to be actually more delicious the next day when the bread had softened with the oil and vinegar. The restaurant and market are in the basement of the building - head down the stairs and follow the clear arrow signage. There was a good amount of seating down there in addition to the outdoor tables.

Definitely a must stop when down in the canal center. Plenty of sandwiches to choose from and a few beers on tap and in cans. There's a counter in the back selling smoked meats and fish. Everything I got was so good!

The Pickwick Restaurant & Pub, a historic landmark in Duluth since 1914, offers a glimpse into the city's past while providing a delightful dining experience. Situated in the Canal Park area by Lake Superior, this establishment is renowned for its homemade soups and award-winning chargrilled steaks. The menu features traditional entrees such as steak, pasta, and salmon alongside homestyle pub favorites.
Really good classical ambience, reminds me of some old school steak houses I've been to in Wyoming that have been around for generations. Service was friendly. Food was spectacular. One of the best calamari I've ever had. We went with the ribeye and some potatoes, you rarely see twice baked potatoes on the menu but theirs was delicious. Little pricey but you get what you pay for in quality. The red velvet cake was delicious as well. Had to get some dessert to top off the meal even though we were both full.

We dined early (4:30) to avoid the crowds and it was worth it. We sat at the bar for a cocktail before being seated and the chef was there on a break. We got a chance to chat with him and the bartender about the restaurants history. The drinks were excellent with a good pour. Our server, Marcus, was excellent. He was very attentive and a fun guy to chat with. Something you don’t get unless you dine early. The food was impeccable. I had the prime rib which is finished on a charcoal grill. Probably one of the best tasting primes I’ve ever had. There were also two filets and a ribeye served at our table and all were fantastic. Even the sides were cooked to perfection and very flavorful.

Parking is a bit tight on the weekends. Dinning area is aright for a place like Duluth. Not premium but at least it’s clean. Food from the grill was great. We got the 8oz fillet steak and jack Daniel’s pork chop. The steak was very good. It had a crispy layer of saltiness on it. The chop was sweet which I’m guessing was from the jack Daniel. It’s a regular chop not a rib chop. The steak was good for the cut, it’s not a fillet mignon so don’t expect that flavor but it still had a good steak flavor and was tender. Comes with your choice of side which ranged from fires to baked potatoes. Also comes with a side of steamed zucchini. All in all the food was great our server, Reba, was excellent she recommended the moscato wine which was to my taste as I like sweet whites. I do recommend making reservations as it speeds up the seating process. We were seated immediately. It really is easy to make reservations online so do that.

The bar area brings you back to a different era. Servers are attentive and friendly. The smoked fish was spectacular while the deep fried pepper burger was unique and tasty especially paired with the onion rings. Great Duluth restaurant you should definitely check out.

We absolutely loved this place. We got the filet steak and it was so juicy, charred on the outside. The bread was amazing too. Fresh with delicious butter. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful on suggestions on the menu and things to do in the area. We had a wonderful view over the lake as well. Salads were crisp and we absolutely loved the fries and the twice baked potatoes.

We had a lovely meal. My burger was tasty and had a great char. The onion rings are really thick, and had a great onion flavor! My hubby got the filet and really enjoyed it.

Hands down my most favorite place to eat dinner in all of twin ports! Tidbit dinner is always delicious! Their twice baked potato is my favorite side. Their house made soups of the night was beef vegetable! Thank you Tyler and the rest of the staff for being so attentive and efficient. Much love!

With a diverse menu featuring options like Thai chicken, coconut shrimp, and North Dakota Bison Burger, there's something for everyone. Vegetarians can enjoy beautiful salads and customizable mac and cheese. Located on London Road and 28th Ave East, the restaurant offers a variety of pasta and meat dishes at mid-range prices.
Loved the atmosphere with all the rich dark woods and dark lit dining area. Gave it a very calm environment. Food was good, maybe a 8 out of 10. Our server was punctual and made sure we were taken care of.

One star for the hostess that tried to make things right. Server was garbage! He never asked us every once if we wanted a cocktail - threw our food down in front of us. Didn’t listen to what we actually ordered never checked on us to see if it was correct which it was not. The view is nice But I’ve never had such terrible food and service. Senior citizens are the main consumers- Customer service and food quality is not their specialty. I would never go here again.
Heidi G — Google review
Amazing service. Off to a rough start. We were seated in the club room right next to a family that had 0 control of their children. They were very loud, jumping around in the booth and hitting the bench. I privately asked the server if we could be moved and they were quick to make it happen. Lobster bisque we ordered to share 10/10 Brussel sprouts we ordered to share 8/10, temperature could have been hotter. London road burger 10/10. This was a huge hit Macs meatloaf 9/10. Would definitely order again Swedish meatballs 5/10. Mashed potatoes and gravy were good but the meatballs didn't get eaten after we all got a taste. Seafood cioppino 12/10 this was fantastic - the potatos could have been left off

Duluth's Black Woods Bar & Grill “Blew My Mind!”—5 Stars of Northwoods Magic! 🍖🔥 (Hidden Gem Alert: You’ll Never Leave Hungry!) # #CertifiedSearchPro Holy smokes, Duluth foodies—Black Woods Bar & Grill is the ultimate spot for that hearty, feel-good meal that'll transport you straight to a cozy Minnesota cabin! Tucked away in the heart of Duluth, this place nails the rustic vibe with its warm wood-paneled walls, crackling fireplaces (perfect for those chilly lake days), and an ambiance that screams 'up-north retreat.' Whether you're grabbing a booth inside or chilling on their patio with views of the surrounding woods, it's like stepping into a lodge from the old logging era—think antler chandeliers, vintage photos of Duluth's timber history, and that inviting glow that makes you want to linger for hours. It's family-friendly yet date-night perfect, with a menu that celebrates all things Minnesota fresh and flavorful. The food? Out-of-this-world delicious! We're talking juicy prime rib slow-roasted to perfection, walleye fillets pan-fried with that crispy edge (a true North Shore staple), and burgers stacked high with local cheeses and bacon that'll make your taste buds dance. Don't sleep on their craft cocktails or the extensive beer list featuring Minnesota brews—pair it with apps like the wild rice soup or onion rings, and you're in heaven. The portions are massive (pro tip: share if you don't want to roll out the door!), and the service is top-notch—friendly staff who treat you like old friends, sharing stories about Duluth's hidden trails while refilling your drinks. The ONLY quirky downside? The portions are SO generous, you might need a nap afterward—it's like they feed lumberjacks here! 😂 But hey, that's just more bang for your buck in this food paradise. No regrets, just full tummy and happy memories. If you're in Duluth, this is a MUST-VISIT for epic eats and that authentic Northwoods charm. Who's joining me for round two? Tag your adventure buddies and let's spread the word! #BlackWoodsDuluth #MinnesotaEats #NorthwoodsVibes #SteakLovers #DuluthDining #LakeSuperiorFood #ViralEats #TravelMinnesota"

We had an incredible dining experience at Blackwood’s Grill and Bar in Duluth, MN. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and comfortable, the kind of place where you know you're in for a great meal and an even better time. The food was outstanding across the board. We started with the soup, which was rich, hearty, and full of flavor, clearly made from scratch. The drinks were well-balanced and expertly crafted, with something for everyone in our group. The highlight of the night, though, was definitely the entrées. The walleye was cooked to perfection, flaky, tender, and seasoned just right, a true taste of the Northwoods. The steak was equally impressive, juicy and full of flavor with a beautiful sear on the outside and a perfect medium rare inside. What truly elevated the experience was the service. Our waitress was fantastic — attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and incredibly professional. She checked in with us frequently to make sure we were happy with everything and kept our drinks and table in perfect order throughout the evening. It’s rare to find a place that nails it on all fronts; food, drinks, atmosphere, and service; but Blackwood’s delivered on every level. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Duluth, this is one spot that deserves a visit. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we’ll be back. Highly, highly recommend!

Tavern on the Hill is a popular spot known for its Greek wood-fired pizza and seasonal bites. The place offers a variety of dishes, including shrimp tacos with fresh ingredients that stand out. Since opening in 2014, it has become a local hot spot with great drinks, an awesome patio with a fire pit, and a diverse menu to cater to all tastes. The restaurant also emphasizes sourcing the freshest and healthiest products from local partners while supporting the community's growth.
Really liked the atmosphere here as soon as we walked in the restaurant. Service was friendly, prompt and overall exceptional. The food was bonkers good for everyone in my family and that's with two picky children. I chose the steak cheesy ciabatta with the tavern slaw and I was blown away. The blackened cream cheese on that sandwich is what really pushed it over the edge from awesome to out of this world. I chose the tavern slaw as my side upgrade which was some of the best I've ever eaten as it had kind of a southwestern flavor profile. They also have an awesome rewards program with great deals like $1 meals for kids. We'll come back again in the future!

This place is a MUST stop. We had an amazing experience here for lunch today. They have a pet friendly patio with a lot of seating. On my way out I noticed they have blankets you can borrow for days it randomly gets chilly which I LOVE. We got the honey bbq bone in wings and they were amazing! All the wings were fully covered in sauce and they were perfectly cooked. I got the ahi tuna burger and I will say it was a bland burger with very minimal sauce and a lot of avocado. Don’t get me wrong, I love the avocado. In my opinion, if you’re gonna have a lot of avocado, you also need to have some sauce . I also had a soggy bottom bun but luckily the server checked in right away when I saw it and brought me a new bun right away. I upgraded to the sweet potato fries and they are the second best I have had ! They also have really cool lemonade flavors like blueberry and lavender. The service provided by Hunter was absolutely amazing. He was on top of everything and very kind. We ordered just a burger for my dog and he even went out of his way to make sure that the burgers were not seasoned so my dog would not get sick.

TOP TAVERN - Great restaurant near UMD with good food, drink and atmosphere. Good variety of food choices. Flavorful burger that was well prepared. Not my favorite kind of fries but they were good. Good for social gatherings.

Fries were the best part about the meal! The burger and salad were just average anywhere. The local Pistachio beer was definitely yummy. I've travelled lots and just seemed pretty generic to be honest. I don't have kids, but I think it's great they have their kids option and it was a very family friendly place :-)

Great food. I had the Velvet Elvis Burger with melted cheese, peanut butter, pickles and onions, special sauce. My brother had the Bleu Burger, Karen had this monsterous salad with chicken. All prepared exceptionally with great service.

I ordered the Tavern Cioppino and it was phenomenal! This one definitely ranks as one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The rest of our group ordered pizza and burgers which had some mixed reviews. Based on the meal I had though, they deserve nothing less than 5 stars! I’d make a special trip just for this again.

So I took my wife out for a date. And this was the site for our first date years ago. The place wasn't busy at all and there were 4 waitress there plus a bar tender. We ordered a drink and steak bits as an app. And Burgers. Drinks came there were great. But 22 min. later we were not checked on and drinks and water were gone. Another waitress came out and gave us our steak bits and walked away real fast! Our steak bits consisted of maybe and I say maybe 2 pieces that would be considered a bit for a small child, the rest were speaks of meat and all of it was BURNT to charcoal. There is no way the cook didn't see this because each burnt piece was hidden facedown and covered real well with the fried onions that were old and stale. Took another 20 min. for waitress to finally come back and check on us after I complained to the bartender. I showed her this, she stated there is no excuse for this and would talk to the chef but at this point we were already just done with it. I told her ill ay for the drinks but we were leaving I cant trust the chef or staff, they al allowed this to pass to the customer. ME and my wife. She wouldn't take money for the drinks. Nice and we left her a tip for the drinks. But we will not go back there and its a shame, the place has sentimental value to us.

Do yourself a favor and come here for the croissant breakfast sandwich. It was incredible and had pesto and so many goodies on it and came with probably the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had. They had melted cheese and onion on them and they were incredible. It’s a cute little place in Duluth and we sat at the bar area so we didn’t have a wait on a Sunday morning. Great service and street parking out front. Will be dreaming of the croissant breakfast sandwich and crispy potatoes.

I understand that places get busy, and that getting customers their meals means making money a business needs to survive. What I don't get is undercutting (hopefully) a high standard of product when busy in order to move people through. There was a wait as could be expected on a gorgeous day, and yet the service, while good, was very brisk. If you can't afford to hire enough servers for a busy weekend perhaps don't offer so many seats. This was fine, as I know how it feels to be overwhelmed with customers. And yet to be out of milk and creamer, yet not provide any disclaimer and still run as a full service brunch spot felt disingenuous and honestly a bit rude. Anyway, I ordered eggs Benedict with moderate expectations. The hollandaise was solid but the english muffins were damp and soggy and thoroughly unpleasant. The breakfast potatoes were not entirely cooked, which made the American cheese (a boon in most situations) stand out that much more. Please take your time to make the food good, and learn how to say no or wait so that you can provide your best. I know you can do it buddy, you're so close!

The food's pretty good. We ordered the French toast fitters & veggie omelette. The omelette taste really healthy, and the potatoes & mushroom taste especially good. The egg is okay, rather lukewarm. The French toast supposed to come with eggs any style, but apparently you can't get it in omelette form or it will cost you extra. I'm hoping there will be more options like turkey bacon or turkey links, or maybe even smoked salmon for the non pork eater.

I have loved New London Cafe for a long time, and the food recently has been sub par. For the price I pay to get a tasty, consistent breakfast, this is not it. The past few times I've gotten the eggs benny (dine in or takeout) has been completely split bernaise on my eggs benny & overcooked eggs. P.S. removing the croissant from the menu was not a smart move, the ciabatta bun was not good compared to the croissant. It's just a shame because I used to love this place and would go out of my way to bring friends/family for yummy breakfast.

Yum! Good prices and portions. Love the platters with tasty pancakes or the fritter french toast. Food was fresh and my whole family commented on it. Homemade jam was the right amount of sweet. Cute atmosphere. Friendly staff. Only drawback is street parking and it’s such a small restaurant that there could be a wait when it’s busy although we got right in.

I've loved New London Cafe since they opened. I always come here whenever I'm back in town visiting family. Since being taken over by new ownership, they kept my favorites & I was pleasantly surprised to see they've added on some new menu items which I was excited to try. I have to say though, I was unfortunately not impressed with the hot honey chicken and waffles. The pieces of chicken were very small and I love crispy chicken but they were more crisp, not much chicken. The flavor of the waffle could have been better as well. The best way to describe it was like a marshmallow without the sweet. HOWEVER, my visit was NOT a disappointment. I ordered one slice of the Cinnamon fritter French toast (which has always been a favorite) and the sausage which is the best around! My friend got the breakfast burrito and it was fire! They've also revamped the seating with heavy wooden tables and chairs which modernizes the cafe a little and warms it up a bit. I like the changes and maybe I'll try something else when I come back next time but I will ALWAYS get at least one slice of the cinnamon fritter french toast and the sausage.

We were in Duluth and a friend met us here for breakfast. This a cute little restaurant nestled off the beaten path. We walked in and were greeted immediately. We waited for a short time for a table. Our server was Alyvia. She took our order and we asked specifically for no green onions. We shared the Hot honey chicken and waffles this is Belgian waffles and seasoned crispy fried chicken drizzled with a chili pepper infused honey. It was good. It definitely needed more hot honey. This came covered in green onions which we ended up picking off. The waffle was delicious with a slight vanilla taste. Chicken was good well with a nice crunch. Overall it lacked that hot honey flavor. The side was their New London potatoes. They were good lacked a little seasoning. We also shared the Eggs Benedict this is two eggs any style served on a toasted English muffin and slices of bacon then covered with a rich hollandaise sauce. The bacon was AMAZING! this is a good version of your standard eggs Benedict. The side was hash browns which were cooked perfectly with a great crunch. Just lacked seasoning. Our friend had the breakfast burrito. This is two scrambled eggs, shredded cheddar, applewood bacon, potatoes, pinto beans, avocado, and salsa on the side. Large burrito with good flavor. Overall a good little restaurant. There are some things on the lunch menu will come back to try. We did have to go find our own silverware, but our server said she was new and we were okay with the hiccups. She was fun with a great personality.

This's always been one of our fav breakfast place. The food standard is well kept even after Covid with all the supply chain issues and inflation, they managed to make the price relatively reasonable and even with the new menu, it has never disappointed us. Service could be nicer, but everything else have always been great! Love the Chicken & Waffles the most!

Food is 10/10! Played great music, quick service, and delicious food. We had the shrimp tempura, rock shrimp tempura, sweet potato roll, chicken and steak hibachi. The fried rice is so so good! The best I’ve had in a long time. Awesome drink selections including mocktails and THC. The only thing we did not enjoy so much was the ginger dressing on the salad. Otherwise everything was a notch above the competition.

Loved the presentation, service, and atmosphere. Cool art on the wall, lofi music playing, and studio ghibli on the bar TV. Fun mocktail menu - the raspberry punch is yummy. I only tried one dish and it was pretty good, but not amazing. I’d def go back to sample more of the menu.

Bountiful plates of food. More edamame than we could handle. Lovely presentation of omakase (white tail, tuna, salmon) and unagi sushi. Offer tasting flights of select sake brands. Fun NA drink options as well.

We stopped into the Brewhouse on a Friday afternoon for lunch and were seated and served right away. We ordered the Brewhouse Burger and the Fish and Chips — both were absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly and hot. The cozy, laid-back atmosphere felt perfectly in tune with the Duluth vibe. Great experience all around — we’ll definitely be back!

Stopped in the try a beer as recommended by our daughter. The Big Boat Oatmeal Stout was excellent. The artichoke dip was spicy but just how I like it. Wife enjoyed her root beer and took a couple crowlers home to enjoy later. Staff was helpful and extremely pleasant. Definitely will stop again on our next trip to Duluth.

I cannot stress enough how terrible the service is here. And the sub-par food was cold. Despite the fact that it was after dinnertime on a Saturday night and there were tons of staff everywhere. Our Server was very rude and everyone working was unprofessional. One app and three burgers with sodas took 1.5 hours. This place doesn't even have their own restrooms. 0/10 do not recommend and will not return.

Grandma's Saloon & Grill Miller Hill is a long-standing establishment known for its classic dishes and cocktails, set in a quirky space with old-timey decor. The restaurant has been a part of the Minnesota dining scene for over 40 years, offering generous portions and a fun history. Located at 2202 Maple Grove Road in Duluth, it is the sister location to Grandma's in Canal Park, providing a similar menu but with its own unique atmosphere.
Visiting Duluth for first time on vacation and we were lucky to find Grandma’s. We loved our food and Heather gave us fantastic service with very good recommendations! She said her favorite sandwich was the Godfather (sliced roast beef on a baguette) with the upgrade of onions, green pepper, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese. My husband got the Walleye dinner with a side of wild rice which comes with gravy which they call sauce. Walleye had great flavor and very crunchy coating. The rice & gravy were so good and they give you lots of rice. He does not like wild rice in general, but is now a big fan. I got the godfather with a side of the chicken wild rice soup. Loved everything I got, the au jus was rich and delicious. We had to try the onion rings which were huge with nice wide slices of actual onion. Again lots of crunch in the coating. We of course could not eat everything so Heather gave us au jus and tarter sauce to take with us. We got one slice of their specialty cheesecake, chocolate amaretto to go also. Yummy! If we get a chance to go again before we leave town, I would love to try the chicken tetrazzini (another Heather recommendation), the wild rice burger or the stuffed wild rice mushrooms…or probably almost anything else on the menu. I guess they sell the wild rice soup, frozen. Too bad we are traveling. The restaurant was decorated with fun authentic looking memorabilia. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was because the bathroom was a little dingy.

First time at this location, which was perfect for after doing a bunch of shopping at the mall. Service was great & friendly, with a terrific atmosphere to the restaurant. I had the french dip (Dante's Inferno) which was soooo dang good. Family also thought the food was amazingly tasty which did not surprise us and I love that they have their own rewards program. We'll be back again :)

I have been a long time Grandma’s customer and I think tonight will be my last meal. I ordered 3 steak cheese trenches and wanted 2 with fries and 1 with onion rings. I arrived to pick up ordered and almost fell over. $73.23 for tree sandwiches. 🤦🏻‍♂️. I had to question it and then was told it was a $2 up charge for the onion rings. And you can see my the picture we got like 3 total. This is probably the most over priced sandwich in all of Duluth.

Great food. Great location. We love this place. The chicken wild rice soup is fabulous. We also got the chicken tetrazini, a pasta with a creamy white sauce and a breaded chicken breast. Has a full bar, full kitchen. Plenty of parking. Seems to be a busier restaurant given its location.

Great local restaurant with amazing food. The service was prompt and polite. The French onion soup was incredible and not too salty. The pasta was incredibly rich and flavorful!

I ordered the Chicken Tetrazzini with noodles which was absolutely delicious. It's my favorite thing at Grandma's. The restaurant was incredibly cold and on top of it we had cold air blowing on us which made it uncomfortable. We asked the waitress if we could move to a spot that doesn't have cold air blowing on us and she said it's like that everywhere which I thought was odd. How do you not have any tables that's doesn't have cold air blowing directly on you. I felt like she just didn't want to move us. I felt like the waitress could have done a better job. She was pretty short with us. For example, when I was placing my order I wasn't done and she moved on to the next person so I had to stop her from leaving to finish ordering. She never came back to the table while we were eating to see if we needed anything. Then she just brought us the bill without asking us if we wanted anything else such as dessert. I wasn't super impressed with the service but like I said the food was amazing!!!

The area where we were sitting was right under a cart which had been chained to the ceiling. Clearly the weight of the cart had pulled loose the boards, and the entire thing was was hanging precariously. We asked the waiter and were told that it was secure. We could plainly see that it wasn't. Even if it wasn't unsafe, it had every appearance of being unsafe and was left that way, so clearly the owners just don't care. The food was truly mediocre. I love burgers, but the burgers were sub-par. My $17 burger had a taste and consistency slightly worse than a White Castle slider. My wife ordered a kabab medium rare, and it arrived raw inside. The cheesecake was the single worst I've ever tasted. The malt was flavored with low-grade chocolate. Even my granddaughter's corn dog was sub-par. They charged more than fast food, but delivered quality worse than fast food. However, the service was truly outstanding. Everyone was extremely friendly. When we entered, the hostess immediately offered my granddaughter a coloring pad and crayons.

Gronks Grill & Bar is a local favorite known for its unique upside-down burgers and "bottom up" tappers. The log cabin setting is filled with street signs, beer taps, and other memorabilia, creating an offbeat vibe. Despite the overwhelming decor, it's the perfect place to satisfy a huge appetite with stacked hamburgers, stuffed sandwiches, and delicious pizza. The menu is available on their website and Facebook page.
Had a great visit to Gronk’s Bar last week! I tried the Henny Penny Chicken special, and it was probably the best roasted chicken I’ve had. It perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. It was a little on the salty side, but still absolutely delicious. The onion rings were out of this world—crispy, golden, huge and so good! The beers were great, and the atmosphere was really fun. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful, and the menu has a ton of options. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

A True Local Happy Place. Lots of locals hangout for food and drinks. Food: They serve The Crispiest Wings. The fries, however need some kind attention, those were over fried and have no taste. Cole slaw is tasty. Must Try: The crispy wings. Highly Recomended !

Ok, so this is 2 different review ratings. Take into consideration we arrived just after a huge rush (possibly bus) of people. We sat at the end of the bar in front of the glass wash station. Our waitress was pleasant despite. She checked in with us a few times during our meal. The prices are comperable to other similar establishments but I feel the portions here make it one step above. The wings are the huge sized wings if you like those. The curly fries (for the 2nd time) were overcooked and crunchy. They have 1919 root beer on it's own tap! It was fun to just look around at the decor and play "I Spy". The restrooms were pleasant. Now, the part I hope the owner reads. There was a busboy, whom I feel may be family, "working" there. I surmised this because if I were one of those waitresses, I'd have had some WORDS long ago. I can honestly say this young man is probably costing you way more money than having him there, unless your sole reason is to keep him out of trouble...even so. He was very obviously working harder at not working than actually doing so. I feel like this is a very common example of our youth as a whole right now. He literally, for our ENTIRE stay (which took double the time as any usual meal does due to the kitchen being so slow) basically shuffled in front of us getting in the way of every waitress trying to do their job. He opened the coolers repeatedly turning labels, looking like he was checking stock, etc. I'm certain the bottles ended up being 4 degrees warmer, especially when he left the doors cracked open. Waitresses were carrying LOADS of dishes to the back and only occasionally, when he noticed, would he go back to the kitchen only to emerge right back in front of us. He seemed to like washing glasses though. Just one or two he'd slowly concentrate on them spending as much time as possible. Nothing like someone's face constantly inches from your food. Another time after coming from the back, he switched the big screen from football to car racing, which was also on the smaller TV. People were mildly watching the game. They had to ask a waitress to switch it back. When we were finished with our meals, we neatly stacked the tray/basket/silverware with the napkins on top, clearly indicating they were ready to be taken, at the edge of the bar, pretty much right under his nose as he washed glasses. Nope, the lightbulb didn't go on. A waitress came and took mine away. My Mom finished hers later and did the same. Still he didn't get a clue. I could see the frustration on the other's faces. I was exhausted just watching him do absolutely nothing. PLEASE teach this young man manners, consideration, work ethic, and teamwork. If he plans to go into management of any kind, nevermind, carry on. At the very least, find someplace else for him to be and alleviate the frustration for those employees who ARE trying to do their jobs. On the flip side, if I were to give the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he was doing his intended job of monitoring other employees to ensure everything is on the up and up and to report back. In any case, this seems to be going more into a rant than a review of the establishment. Love Gronk's in general and look forward for an opportunity to stop in when I'm in town. Don't miss out!

We had the Wednesday special prime rib sandwich basket. To go we were staying at the hotel next door. Fries were soggy and under cooked 😔 but worst of all the prime rib sandwich was dry dry dry hard as leather. Gross 🤢 the bun was good though. And the coleslaw. Lol it was in a condiment container the size of a shot glass. Two tablespoons. Wow did I even taste it. I know it's bar food . But they changed like it was a fancy sit down restaurant. It was 4 in the afternoon on a Wednesday not bizy but loud with kids playing. The table we sat at to wait for our order was sticky. and there was several flies bugging us. like you couldn't even get rid of them landing on your face and everything. Also the kid that took care of my bill had to ask for help figuring out how much change to give back to me as I paid with cash🤷

Great location overlooking Lake Superior Port. The service was great and the outdoor grass patio was fantastic location. The food was good, but overpriced for what you get. When you pay so much for a Ribeye you expect it to be cooked to order but was overcooked.. it was still good .... But could have been much better if prepared as ordered. The scallops in seafood linguine were also undercooked and one was still translucent in middle and smelled fishy... So we didn't chance eating it. The rest of the dishes were great. They just need to dial in the execution of the dishes considering the price point.

In town with the family and went here based on a great recommendation by a local. Very easy to get a reservation and table for 4, even on a Friday evening. Wonderful meal with great choices for all. Our server, Thomas, was delightful and had inciteful offerings on dishes to choose, desserts, drinks, and even potential activities to do the following day if we encountered poor weather. Comfortable atmosphere but still a nice evening. I highly recommend!

The Boat Club is a cozy restaurant overlooking the pier. The service was very good, our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and individual dishes. For food we started with the crab artichoke dip which was rich and creamy but there was almost no crab in it , which for $18, was disappointing. I started with the clam chowder which was very hardy and had a lot of depth to it. And the complimentary pop overs were fantastic! The Rigatoni Alfredo was very flavorful but the added on shrimp were slightly mushy which again for an extra $15 added to an entree is very disappointing. We had the orange dream cheesecake and chocolate lava cake for dessert and enjoyed them both. We had higher hopes for this place but the prices don’t seem to accurately reflect the food that’s coming out of the kitchen, especially for the seafood… We will give them another chance next time we’re in town as it could have been an off night but we will be a lot more cautious the next time.

Got Crabby Eggs Benny and it was terrible. The eggs were hard, the holladiase was slightly broken, and the crabby cakes were gummy and tasted awful. I asked for new eggs and heard one of the servers tell ours, very loudly so that the whole dinning room could hear, that the eggs are supposed to be hard for benny's and people dont like runny eggs. My husband got a walley sandwhich, they walley was so small, I think they cut it in half. The (small) bun was oversized for the fish. This place has really gone down hill and we will not return.

As a restaurant connoisseur, traveler, and chef, I've found a restaurant that lives up to its history and service. Kade's professionalism, the quality of the dishes, the range of cocktails, and the wine list round out this small but enigmatic restaurant. Its view of Lake Superior, combined with the fog of those days, made it even more interesting. I've tried sea bass in many restaurants, but this well-prepared dish here truly exceeded all my expectations. I feel so good that I spent two nights there for dinner. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, superior service and lake side views. We chose outdoor seating but next time we will definitely opt for indoor dining. The tables outside are small patio style with very uncomfortable hard chairs. The music was too loud and made it hard for conversation. However, the food was outstanding. We all had appetizers and main entrées. The clam chowder beats San Francisco's best and the Calamari was on par with Vancouver's finest. All of the seafood was excellent, but the Steel Head Trout with garlic risotto was sublime, a 7 star plate of food! Service was exceptional. I would highly recommend this fantastic restaurant to everyone that loves upscale and creative food and excellent service. The views of gorgeous Lake Superior make this restaurant hard to beat.

Dubh Linn Brew Pub is a lively Irish pub and microbrewery known for its old-school charm, bar-food menu, and whiskey selection. The pub houses a nano micro-brewery where small batches of beer are handcrafted, allowing for experimentation with flavors and high-quality brews. From seasonal varieties to classic pub ales, visitors can sample different drinks or opt for a flight to taste test four selections.
To be fair, there was only one bartender, and he was servicing the whole place to the best of my knowledge. The food was phenomenal, and the service was extremely exceptional for one person! Would highly recommend. They have free pool and shuffleboard, other board games , and cozy places to sit.

We went on a Saturday night for one of their comedy shows and had a solid good time. The drinks were strong, the atmosphere was exactly as a pub should be and the service was spot on. The comedians need to see a therapist about their obsession with their history of, apparently incessant, pubescent masterbation! Unfortunately they both seemed to think that was the only subject they could find that would ensure laughter. It was funny for about 10 minutes but then it felt like middle school for the remainder of the show. The food was fair, my wife had fish and chips and enjoyed her basket. I had the shepard's pie and it was decent but way over salted and I like salty food. But, thankfully, like I said earlier, the drinks were really strong.

My wife and I have been homeless in Duluth for the past 6 months. This bar and one of it's employees became the first time I have experienced discrimination in Duluth due to our status as homeless. The bartender working last night opened the front door as we stood on a public sidewalk next to the bar. We were not there long, and we weren't disruptive or causing and issues at all nor were we blocking access to customers in any way. The bartender looked at my wife, a friend who is also homeless in a wheel chair, and my wife then proceeded to tell us we could not be standing by his business because we were turning away customers. I couldn't believe he discriminated because he knew we are homeless. Duluth has an enormous problem on their hands with the overwhelming population of homeless. Many of us have done nothing to deserve homelessness, we're also not drug addicts who choose to spend their money on drugs rather than necessities. Personally, I grew up in a wealthier family and have vacationed here since I was born. I have an education and owned my own business that was very successful. I went from the top of society to the bottom in a short period of time which was not my fault unfortunately. If you have any morals. If you have a heart, and if you believe stereotyping, and discrimination regardless of the situation is wrong do not patronize this business. If I could I would shut them down specifically for this very incident whether I was discriminated or had been a witness. I hope the owner of Dubh Linn reads this. I may be homeless, but I am not idiot. I also have an education, and I previously owned a business myself. If the owner is reading this before you receive anything from my attorney first, I have every intention to make it publicly known on social media and news publications of this discrimination. I also will be following through with my attorney filing a discrimination lawsuit so I receive monetary compensation for the discrimination by your bar. I am not going to be keeping everything I am awarded in court. It will help other individuals who have become like family. Those of us who are homeless for the most part stick together, we help each other, and none of us deserve to be told to leave a public sidewalk because we look and are homeless. I hope your bar is boycotted hopefully forcing you to shut down or the city shuts you down for the act committed by an employee of yours. If the owner wishes to settle this atrocity before I hand it to my attorney please comment on this with a way to contact you. If not, as I said above, I have no issue following through with a discrimination lawsuit.

Dubh Linn was awesome, we went on Thursday night for the amateur comedy night and the atmosphere was great. Free pool & darts were great options. Our fries were very good, crispy and flavorful. Bartender was super nice and friendly, everyone in the staff team just loved to be there and was happy to help some new faces. If I was local I’d be coming here often.

This place had some pretty good food. You grab a menu and order at bar. I had lamb Sheperds pie & a side of cabbage & veggies...delish! My friend had shrimp & fries and said they were good too. Of course the Guinness was great. Atmosphere was older but comfortable. There was a nook area with a fireplace & comfy looking chairs. A charming old red phone booth. The booths for seating were super high, so if your height challenged it may be hard to get into, but there are other seating options. I'd like to stop back at another time & maybe play pool and try more things on the menu.

Nice Irish pub in downtown Duluth. Great place for group celebration. Great beer selections and full bar service. Very accommodating staff who catered to our varied needs, with young family members and an older segment as well as good food selections. Nicely appointed with colorful flags and a clean interior that was very inviting.

Extremely disappointing experience. I went to this bar and felt clearly unwelcome as a person of color. The bartender with dark hair parted to the side treated me and my friends very rudely compared to other guests. It genuinely felt discriminatory — we were questioned and ignored while others were served right away. No one should be made to feel uncomfortable or singled out because of their background. I hope the owners take this seriously and train their staff to treat everyone with the same respect.
Tyler N — Google review
Limited staff with unlimited smiles 😃 what a treasure to have found on a girl's trip. They offer a small eating menu but a mastered menu for certain. A wide selection of drinks to choose from and served with compassion! The Reuben was scrumptious and flavorful with a precise balance of fresh, moist meat and lightly crispy toasted rye bread. The garlic mashed potatoes did not warrant any touches of flavor. The cheesy spinach artichoke burger was bursting with robust flavors igniting a savoring euphoria💞

Bridgeman's in Duluth, MN is a beloved local spot with a vintage charm, serving up classic diner fare and creative ice cream. Established in 1883, it has a rich history dating back to Henry Bridgeman's dairy company. The restaurant offers an all-day breakfast menu featuring favorites like omelets, waffles, and their signature Skizzles – hashbrowns topped with various breakfast ingredients.
A retro modern local dinner with amazing food and treats! Especially loved the cinnamon roll pancakes and fun mega malts! If you love their ice cream you’ll love their food too!

It was 3:30pm on avSunday and we were starving when we found ourselves in the parking lot of Bridgeman's. It was perfect for our first visit as there was no wait and we were quickly ushered to a table. It was a tight fit for my wheelchair, but everyone was very accommodating. Service was exceptional. Most of the servers were young, college age and really went above and beyond for the diners. I ordered the Reuban with a side salad. The side salad was excellent. The Reuben was good, but not anything special. My husband ordered the Greek Omlet which was outstanding and a huge plate of food. We also enjoyed a side order of onion rings which were thick and delicious and a large size, perfect for sharing. The entrance to the restaurant is tight for wheelchairs to maneuver, you definitely need assistance with the doors to get in and out. Love the little merchandise corner up front featuring local goodies. We can't wait to go again and try something new.

What a (re)find! We had a Bridgeman's in Brooklyn Center for years and were frequent customers. When they closed, there were none in the area. Fast forward 40 years and to our extreme delight, we found one listed in Duluth! Since we go Lake Superior every year for my Mom's birthday, we decided to give this restaurant a go. It was AMAZING! The service was spectacular, the ambiance was delightful, the food was DELICIOUS ,and you can't beat a cherry nut ice cream cone! Can't wait for our next visit!

I tried the “Greek” omelette. It was very good. Large enough for 2 people. The service was excellent and fast. I arrived at 7:55 on a Saturday and there was a line outside waiting. But none the less the staff inside were prepared and efficient. Well worth the trip.

Super great spot for breakfast! I got the Mall Bridgeman’s breakfast. Service was fast and friendly and their homemade strawberry jam is delicious. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a good place to eat.

We've been coming here for years and make it a point to stop in every time we're in Duluth. The food is always good, the service is always nice and who doesn't like ice cream after breakfast? I was surprised that they're closed on Sundays now when we came up last time, so we had to find another breakfast spot. But we made sure to stop in on Saturday this time around. The prices have gone up like almost all restaurants, but thankfully the food and service has stayed good. It does get very busy and cramped on weekends, which some people don't like, but I look at that as it's popular for a reason.

A local favorite of ours when we come to Duluth. We always go for the breakfast anytime of day! He got the Ron Swanson and I the Tizzel Sizzel. 10/10 staff is always great and the ambiance is like a vintage diner. The food is always good. Love love love the fresh strawberry jam. We tried the smores malt today and it was so good as well.

Was not expecting it to be as busy as it was for a Monday at noon but we were seated pretty fast the food was amazing! My husband ordered the breakfast Burrito not expecting to be pretty spicy so just a heads up if your order that. It also comes with avocado on top. It smelled amazing though. I ordered the Greek skillet which was 😙🤌 chefs kiss! As busy as it was I was surprised at the fact that our waiter was able to check in on us multiple times. We mostly went to see if they had the lalapalooza icecream boat challenge, but they don't do it anymore sadly. They did have some pretty incredible looking milkshakes for approximately 16$ each. Gonna definitely have to come to give those a try. Added pictures of them to see.

Have been driving by Eddie’s for over 30 years and finally stopped. Wow! Get Eddie's on the map! Josh was our chef & his skill at the grill with our prime rib and ribeye was worth finding this unassuming yet splendid restaurant! If you haven't eaten at Eddie's, you haven't had steak in the Duluth/ Superior area. Make this stop a priority the next time you're around. Will definitely be going back! Gluten-free sides and salad available. No reactions and I'm ceiliac. Had prime rib, side salad, baked potato and a coke. What makes this an important review, besides safety for gluten free is that my prime rib was ordered well done. It came out juicy and tender and cooked to perfection. Our server was Janie - kind & knowledgeable. Stop in and get an epic prime rib! Hubbies ribeye was "on par with the finest steakhouses I've eaten at."

The receipt said Audra so I hope it was accurate. She was sooooo great. My mother has been a waitress for 4 decades and she expects the best. Audra lived up to it all. Friendly, funny, and attentive. Thank you for making our night a special one!

The cheesy potato bacon soup was delicious! The fresh fries are so good and enough for 2 or 3 to share. They have many choices of burgers. We had the cream cheese green olive burger and jalapeno burger. Very good. They have other things, like hot turkey, meatloaf, and pot roast also. The waitress was so friendly and welcoming. We'll be back.

The service was incredible, the waitress offered my girlfriend a separate chair for her purse to make room on the table and keep it off the floor. The food was incredible. I could taste how fresh the patties were, that they weren't frozen and wete hand pressed to order. For portions, think similar to five guys, at least for the fries. The burgers are all pretty good sized. My main shicn was how small of a place it is. I read about it online snd didnt see pictures of the establishment, so I assumed it was like a bar-ish setting. It's more like an old diner. Very friendly and welcoming when you walk in. I will be going back, and I live 2 hours away.

This is one of the best burger places I've eaten at recently! It was my first time eating at this restaurant and i loved it! The service was fantastic. The waitress was always checking on us and seeing if we needed anything. The food came our fairly fast (it did not seem too busy), and it was all hot and fresh. I had the chili smothered burger and a berry lemon shake, and it was all delicious! They had a decent number of selections that made it difficult. The prices are a little higher than other places, but i feel it was worth it.

We love stopping here! I always get the shipwreck skillet and it never disappoints. He got the cheeseburger omelet and that was also amazing! The pancakes were sweet and fluffy. Local spot in town. Steady stream of people while there for breakfast which is served all day. Has a log cabin feel with wood paneling & seating areas. Good menu of typical breakfast choices. I enjoyed biscuits & gravely with eggs. I asked for extra eggs which I said I have no problem paying accordingly for. Waitress was happy too fill request. Seat yourself when walking in.

LOVE Julie’s! The food is priced right and they serve breakfast all day. We made it to Julie’s for the morning crowd and it was lovely to see the obvious relationship between the staff and folk coming in. I got the shipwreck skillet and it was delicious. I also got a side of pancakes and I feel like that was the cherry on top of a delicious & classic breakfast. My husband got the chicken fried steal and of course I snuck a bite. So, I’m happy to let you know that the chicken fried steak was good as well. The staff is super kind and every time we come in they are joyful and polite. I LOVE Julies. The place is beautiful inside. The food is fantastic. The staff works really hard and still kicks butt as a team. We were staying in town at the super 8 and Dori told us to come check this place out. She said she worked there weekends and that the food was amazing. She was right. Lori H — Google review
I remember this place with rose colored glasses, This diner used to be the spot. They had an expansive menu, high quality food and amazing service. Unfortunately all that has degraded within the last 5 years. I brought my girlfriend here for the first time since the pandemic, I got the Chef’s Skillet and she got the 1/4 pound cheeseburger (because they were out of pepperoni for the pizza burger. It should be worth note that we tried to order the banana crème pie but they were out of that as well). The first thing to note was the service was lack luster, I felt like the server was passive aggressive and made us feel like a burden. An example of which is midway through the meal my girlfriend wanted a cup of coffee (they have really good coffee, it’s really smooth yet strong). I made eye contact with the hostess, she ignored me, I waved at the hostess, she ignored me, Eventually I just said “Hey” as she walked by and I managed to order the coffee. After that she ran up to us and dropped off the bill, we still wanted desert. Either way the food was fairly mediocre, it’s bland but cheap and filling. The skillet was large and had variety but nothing stuck out as amazing or even worthwhile. The burger was the stereotypical bar burger which is essentially an unseasoned meatball with cheese on a bun. After we were finished with the meal we decided to sit on our bill for an awkwardly long time until eventually the hostess approached us and asked if we would like anything else. My girlfriend ordered a piece of apple pie and I ordered a chocolate malt. The server asked us if we wanted the pie “heated up” and my girlfriend said yes. The server then went to a cooler, pulled out a slice of pie and proceeded to microwave it in the dining room. I mean there was no sense of shame, it made me wonder if I was just eating yesterday’s leftovers. The server was almost desensitized, it’s one thing to do it behind closed doors but they’re practically advertising it. Either way the apple pie was extremely hot on the outside while being lukewarm in the middle, it’s quality was similar to a super one slice of pie. When the malt arrived, I’m not gonna lie I was impressed. It looked like an old school 1950s style malt and it was of similar quality. The malt was pleasantly thick while being subtlety sweet which made it one of the best malts I’ve had in the area. Still though I will not be returning, the service is just awful and the food isn’t good enough to carry it. Unless you’re really craving a malt and coffee, this place isn’t worth the stop.

For the past year-and-a-half, my associates and I have been conducting business meetings here every Friday. In the time we've shared there we've laughed, we've cried, we've loved one another, and hated one another; even through triumph and through tragedy, Applebee's has been the one thing that has kept us closest to one another. The food is delicious all while remaining at an affordable price even in this dreaded economy. Every Friday we're met with smiling faces from the workers and we're treated as if we're people rather than just a table of customers in need of edible sustenance. Ava, Tory, Nick, Austin, and Courtney are just a few of the lovely people that help keep the Miller Hill Applebee's in business and they are truly wonderful. (Shoutout to the unsung heroes that are the cooks that we've never had the pleasure of meeting) 4 stars in atmosphere because they redid the wall decorations and it was not a good choice. The lights used to be way cooler when they were the different colored glass shades instead of the new weird ones. Also it's not giving me the option, but the Neighborhood Burger is to-die-for and I would totally recommend it. Overall: 32.5/19

I don’t often leave reviews, but as someone who has worked in the public service industry I have to say it was amazing to sit back and watch the staff work together. The communication and team work was obvious. The service and food were excellent, food was coming out quickly even on a busy Saturday. The manager was present on the floor. It has been a long time since we’ve felt that way about an Applebees, the locations near us have all closed and it’s no surprise based on our last few experiences. Unfortunately we live several hours away from this location or we’d be back frequently. Keep up the good work!

My boyfriend and I went there last Saturday for lunch, only to a complete disappointment. We were starving (especially him). When we first got there, they led us to our table. Nothing bad right? Wrong! We sat, nobody came for even offer us water. We’ve started then the waiting game. No one would ever come. We then press the “call service” on the device that they have on their tables. The lights started blinking for service, the blond girl leading other customers to their tables passed through us 3 times, saw the device asking for service and still no one came for us. We waited for 20 minutes until we decided to leave and go to Grandma’s Restaurant really close to them (a place that, btw, we are always exceptionally served and the food always delicious!) We left and they didn't even bother to ask what happened to make us leave without consuming there. Not coming back anymore!

This is my local favorite for basically everything. Their Friday night fish fry is about the best in the area - certainly in the top three. They do other fried food well, too - their curds, onion rings and fries are excellent. They also make an excellent Juicy Lucy. There's adequate parking and patio seating, and the staff is friendly. Dry Dock Bar and Restaurant, situated at 2820 Midway Road in Duluth, Minnesota, is a charming spot that seamlessly combines a bar and restaurant. It's an ideal place to savor delectable food and drinks with loved ones. The menu boasts an array of tempting dishes, including juicy burgers and fresh seafood crafted from the finest ingredients. This friendly neighborhood establishment offers generous portions at reasonable prices and is conveniently located near a golf course and nature trails.
I ordered taco salad with chicken. And yes, a taco salad's pretty much a taco salad, but this one was better than most. Oh, by the way, I ordered taco salads a lot. The Taco bowl wasn't this great. Big huge greasy thing. It was large enough but it was wide and short. Not an overabundance of lettuce, but plenty of onions and taco meat and salsa. The flavor was quite good. I would order it again here This place sits right on the edge of a golf course and if you sit in the bar and get a window seat, the view is quite nice. The staff was friendly and attentive, but not bothersome. Toilet facilities were very nice, clean, modern, well stocked. I would recommend this place if heading up to Duluth or coming back from Duluth, is just a mile off I-35

Loved the atmosphere and revamp of the place! Has pool, darts and popcorn. Menu was versatile. I choose the Jesse’s meatloaf served with mash potatoes and a side of broccoli. Along with the clubhouse, which was stacked high. $1.99 for some Cajan seasoning sprinkled on top of the fries was kinda a joke but everything else was decent.

The only reason why I’m giving this place 2 stars instead of a 0 is because the bar tender was so sweet and gave me a discount because even they were confused by my order. Ordered eggs benedict and it was served on toast rather than an English muffin, they put Swiss cheese on it when there shouldn’t be any, and the hollandaise sauce was way too thick. The person who took my order was so confused that they went to double check to see if they entered it in wrong. Which she confirmed my normal (no alterations) order. Im sure they would have asked the kitchen to remake it but I don’t like making a fuss and who knows what I would have gotten the second time around. But the more I’ve thought about it the more EXTREMELY disappointed I am! I was hoping this place was going to get better since they now have new management but it’s only gotten worse.

The food was tasty but VERY slow to come (took about an hour to receive and it wasn’t even busy). The service was terrible. (Olivia was very nice but needs some serious training.) Inaccurate beverage was brought. She failed to return at any time once we placed our order and waited an hour for food and then didn’t return again until the bill was brought. I had to fetch our own ketchup from the back area. A second beverage would have been appreciated. We were celebrating a birthday and there was no recognition nor appreciation of this, let alone even any extra effort to make it a particularly good experience. There was no clear signage indicating whether you should seat yourself and wait to be seated. Despite being only about 3 tables of people, the atmosphere is loud (in the restaurant area). It is a nice looking atmosphere and the prices were reasonable. Again, service and speed needs some focused attention.

Previously named the Dry Dock. Great location. The food was very good. Staff friendly.
Vicky M — Google review
Our server was great. She did a really good job. However, I had the taco salad which I’ve had there before and loved. Well, they changed it. It was regular beef not ground beef, and it didn’t have much taco flavor. The taste was really kind of strange, and there wasn’t one piece of tomato on the salad. It was really disappointing. My grandson had a burger and Cajun fries which he liked.
Janice L — Google review
We love this place, but the last few times have been less than great. Last night we went for the fish fry and what a joke. The server said that a cup of soup would be considered my side but then charged me for it and when I pointed this out refused to take it off. So, I paid for my side and never got the side that should have come with my meal. The fish wasn't hot and was two skimpy pieces and then no one came around to ask if I wanted more. When I asked for more, it took forever. They were not busy and maybe that should have told us something. Just a huge disappointment. We won't be back.

We were there 7/12/25. I ordered the Prime Rib Special. The other person at my table ordered the Steak sandwich. They were extremely satisfied. However the Prime Rib was extremely over cooked. I ordered medium rare. And got it well done. I’m not a very picky person. But for a $49.99 special. I probably won’t go back. Service was fantastic our waitress was amazing.

Awesome!! This place was an amazing experience.. The food was delicious, customer service was top notch and the dining was welcoming. I would recommend the Cheese soup, it was soooo good. As it should have been being this restaurant is in the CHEESE STATE.. My NY strip steak was done perfectly and you could taste that it was done on a grill. My family members said their meals were really good too. One had the Philly steak n cheese, one had the French Dip, the other had the Zepplin sandwich and one had the Ribeye steak. Our overall experience was two thumbs up and would highly recommend dining here. I would go here again. Thank you to our server Makenzi and the chef. This Minnesotan is full and ready to go to relax 😌

Ordered a steake rare, it came out medium well. 2nd go round was a lot better. But then the potato's and veggies were cold when they came out again. The steak was average. The veggies were nasty so feeding those to my chickens. Definitely frozen veggies. 2nd meal I ordered was the beef filet tips. Mashed potatoes were really good. The beef could use some flavor kinda plain and taste beefy. Cooked good tho... nice and tender. Lots of elder people here but I like that vibe sometimes.
Kira W — Google review
Burgers weren't great. The kitchen mixed up who got what. I had ordered the olive burger add bacon, with curds and my husband ordered the jalapeno burger with fries. They served the jalapeno burger with bacon and cheese curds. By the time I got back to the table my husband had already half eaten in my burger. I didn't know until after I bit in and realized I had jalapenos. Thank goodness my mother-in-law wasn't there because she is allergic to jalapenos. I don't feel that the food that we were served was worth the $68 we paid. Next time I would opt for not a burger maybe try one of the sandwich options. The pizza, that somebody at our table had was good. The kids macaroni and cheese is amazing. They had good french fries.

Everytime we travel we like to go where the locals go. This was a very nice place. Bathroom were very clean, prices for dinner was very reasonable. The meal was done to perfection. (From vegetables to the main course. I will highly recommend this place. I for one would come back again.

Always a good experience. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip with chips and bread. SO GOOD. Half cheese half Hawaiian pizza. Philly with fries and some hot wings. Their ranch is good too!
Kaiti M — Google review
This place is window dressing only. People seem to love it but I have yet to figure out why. The owner is rude and bitter. The cooks are not skilled, the servers are busy. When you have to walk from the street because a place is packed you have one idea and then the reality is they are playing volleyball and your burger is a more expensive and worst-tasting meal than at Burgerking. Edit for grammer.

Needed some takeout for the VRBO, wanted something local, this looked good. Walked in, sat at the bar, got a friendly greeting and cold beer right away. Regular folks sitting around after work, calm and relaxed. Ordered the food, it came out before I finished the beer. Got it back to our rental, yum! I recommend.

Great food at a great price. Service was awesome too. Has the home town feel with the locals when we were there. Great smoked meals and cheese curds.

Decided to visit a restaurant in Superior while staying in Duluth. We chose The Shack because, overall, it was rated higher than the other restaurants nearby. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations. We both ordered hamburgers, which we found oddly dry and tasteless. Not sure if they made the meat patties ahead of time, than reheated them for their customers - but the meat was much drier/tasteless than a normal burger. Wait staff were pleasant and prompt, but that's not enough to warrant another meal there again.

Loved the fried cheese cubes!!! They were served with caramel sauce?!?! And were delicious!!! Omg💗 so good!! Our server was very friendly & so were the locals (big thank you to the couple that shared their spicy pepperoni from Aldi's). When in the area, we'll stop again!

Pleasantly surprised. Was kinda dead, but idk our food was great, lil worried they were covering up bad bbq with all the sauce, but the que was great, sauce was even good. Only thing id change is cook those fries longer, doing homemade fries is awesome, but ours were way undercooked, musta been a off night, otherwise, very good, we will be back!!

Came here last week to try something new. *****FYI, if you use the lottery machines, there must be some law that says the bar can't give you change, so if you win $20.98, you'll only get $20 back. We came here and there was NOBODY ELSE there. I specifically told the server this WAS OUR 1ST TIME there, she told us what she thought was best; and went to play games ; I won, and gave her my ticket, and thought she shorted me? She just casually said, "oh, we can't give you change." Why wouldn't she have said that to me before? Also, the outer part of the salt shaker was sooo gross. That just turned us off. I just don't know how to ask a server how to clean that when I feel like those should be cleaned every night? So that added to our experience. Please enjoy the pictures I have Taken to share with all of you! The fries are great and bountiful, the burger my husband had was yummy too!

This is your classic dive bar. I went for the bbq and was very disappointed. The only bbq at this bbq restaurant were ribs. I ended with the Philly steak sandwich with undercooked fries. I would not recommend that anyone drive out of their way to visit this place.

Took 45 minutes in an empty bar to bring me boneless wings, which looked like they were Costco chicken nuggets. They didn’t even put the sauce on them, they just had cups. Of mediocre sauce for dipping. A shame, seems OP was been going downhill.
Adam C — Google review
The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. The service was slow, but only seen one waitress the whole time we were there. Wraps were eye appealing - Caesar one was decent - buffalo chicken one missed the mark on flavor and being spicy at all. Steak was over cooked - asked for medium, got well done and looked steamed rather than cooked - also was not eye appealing and flavor also missed the mark. Cranberry toast was decent, but the turkey was not pleasant. Cheese curds were very skimpy as far as how many we got and didn't have much flavor. I don't think I would return for a second shot. Other tables seemed to be satisfied with the burgers they got - so maybe their sweet spot is in the burgers vs. some other menu items.
Renee N — Google review
We went there for brunch Sunday. Sat down and waitress got us water, gave us menus and we ordered. We waited an hour and 15 minutes with no one talking to us about where our order was. Everyone in the entire area had their orders taken and no one was served their food including a couple and a group of 3 that were seated when we originally walked in. Nothing! We walked out because it was evident we weren’t getting fed anytime soon. Tough to rate the food. I guess it doesn’t matter. Why seat people if you can’t make the food. Tons of wait staff, no manager and no cooks. 🤪🤪🤪

I wish I would’ve taken a picture but I was starving so I’ll go back to get you guys one eventually. I had a burger with bacon cheese and avocado and it was sooo good as well as fries. My family tried two burgers which were also a hit. Fried pickles were mediocre but sauce was good. Waitress had called out but the bartender was still super nice.

Went there for breakfast on Sunday morning. Was greeted decently quick at our table. Ordered a few drinks, was asked for Ids, handed them to the waitress and she threw them on the table afterwards (1st red flag). We were not checked on for refills (2nd red flag) and wanted to order more drinks. We had to wave down waitress. We then waited for our food for about a hour before again making the effort to track down our waitress to ask about the food (3rd red flag). We asked what was going on. She looked dumbfounded and didn’t know what to say. She said it would be out in 10 minutes. Our last straw was waiting for another 30 minutes and still not getting our food. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. Unfortunately the service/communication was horrible. Definitely will not be going back. It was embarrassing for my husband and I considering we were hosting our California friend and that’s what they experienced here in MN. We ended up at the Social House who was 5x busier (TOP was not busy at all) and getting our food in about 25-30 mins.

Bar & grill
Tucked away in the Itasca neighborhood of Superior, Wisconsin, Choo Choo Bar & Grill is a hidden gem known for its legendary Bloody Marys and delicious food. The bar's recipe for this iconic drink is highly sought after and has been compared to KFC's secret recipe. The atmosphere is welcoming to all, with a diverse crowd ranging from families to regulars.
We spotted the Choo Choo Bar & Grill on the way to our RV campground which was nearby. I'm a railfan, so the fact that Choo Choo Bar & Grill was backed up against Union Pacific's Itasca Yard was intriguing, plus neither of us had ever seen a bar & grill that serves breakfast! We decided to give it a try and showed up a bit after 9 AM on a Tuesday morning. From 9 AM, when the bar opens, until 10 AM when a waitress comes on duty, the owner is also the waiter, cook, bartender, and dishwasher. You may find the service a bit slow during that first hour, but you won't be disappointed by the food or the atmosphere. I ordered the Garbage Hash Browns and my wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. The food was delicious and the portions are large enough to satisfy any appetite. We liked it so much that we came back the next morning when I had the Garbage Omelet and my wife had the Garbage Hash Browns. The menu says they make their own pizza dough and sauce, and they offer gluten free pizza plus gluten free pizza fries! Unfortunately we couldn't hang around a few more days to sample more of the menu, but next time we're back in the area, Choo Choo Bar and Grill will be our first stop. Breakfast along with coffee for two people cost us around $35 both days which we felt was a good bargain. On our second trip we had time to speak with the owner who told us some of the history of the bar. The restaurant was originally just an old Pullman car that has been added on to numerous times. Even thought the bar and grill has been there for many years, the inside appears almost brand new. Sadly the rail yard is behind the bar so you don't get to watch trains while you eat. That doesn't stop you from taking photos or shooting video before or after you eat. Do not hesitate to give the Choo Choo Bar & Grill a try. You won't be disappointed.
Rick M — Google review
*Our food was very different compared to other photos and the actual menu they give you.. If there is a menu change then customers should be told. Overall, it was an unimpressive meal stop that we felt a bit mislead on. It was our first visit here. * There is one low top table there. We started with the tater kegs. They were tasty but slightly frozen in the middle. There were only 4 or 5 (i can't remember) that came in the basket so not a lot. The Pickle Ranch ruined their flavor though. It was terrible.. and no we did NOT order pickle ranch, that's apparently just how they make it even though the menu says "ranch." We had ordered 2 "ranches," and got charged for them even though we didn't eat them because they were gross. We got burgers. I was expecting a ½lb hand patty but there were two ¼lb patties stacked on the bacon cheeseburger and one ¼lb patty & two ⅛lb patties on to the Wisconsin burger...?? I'm not sure if that's how it was meant to be a another photo doesn't show that. The patties tasted similar to Sam's Club burger patties. They weren't terrible but lacked flavor and dripped in fat. The fries were not thick cut, they were shoestring fries. They had good flavor but we went there because of the photos of the thick cut fries and I personally don't like shoestring fries so to pay an extra $3.99 for something I, once again, thought I was getting was disappointing. The chips were good. The coleslaw was creamy and sweet.

This is a bar turned greasy spoon restaurant in the morning. The omelets are delicious! I had the Philly omelet and would definitely get it again. The portions were huge! Asked for crisp hashbrowns and they didn't disappoint. We didn't try a bloody Mary, but that is what they are known for.

Food was good. We had to keep going up to the bar and get drink refills, forks etc. Waitress was too busy chatting with owner to help us.

We are outside and the inside was huge perfect for parties and huge groups. Food was served on cast iron plastic plates which were super cool !! Food was amazing and we went during lunch so dinner options were not available until after 4. Our bartender was also our server. Great service and you must try their homemade keg sauce!! Sooo addicting!! Large servings ! We would eat there again, my daughter had the hamburger, I had grilled chicken sandwich and hubby had their homemade chips which was great and a Ruben! We had our dog with us so we ate outside . Beautiful stop with amazing food!

Went on Friday and sat outside. It was busy inside but plenty of outside seating. Caveat was you could only get bottled things outside for drinks. I enjoyed the pulled park , good flavor and tasty spice. We also got the sweet and spicy wrap that was pretty average. It looked like homemade chips and fries. Typical bar/American food but served in a cast iron pan (I don't think they were actual full cast iron )which looked heavy for our server to carry 😂.

Have gone here twice in a few months. 1st time service was so slow, we would have left, but we're with a bigger group. 2nd time, took 15 minutes to just get a water, even when waters were ordered immediately. Went there a couple of weeks ago. Sat outside. Apparently you do not have staff to work outside. We sat there and no one came. Went inside and told a server that we were outside. SHe came out later. Trophy Cafe, located at 1314 Commonwealth Ave, Duluth, MN 55808, is a delightful spot for breakfast and lunch. The cafe offers daily specials and a menu featuring both traditional breakfast items and unique culinary creations. Customers praise the excellent food quality, reasonable prices, and friendly service. The warm ambiance makes it an ideal place to savor a leisurely meal.
Let’s break this down into different categories. Atmosphere: It is run like a small town family run cafe, very friendly staff, good lighting, mounted animals and fish taken by the owner, very faint music in the back ground. Nice and clean. Only complaint is it is a little cold in the winter time. Food: Burgers are pretty good, the fries are outta this world. Breakfasts are top line, strongly recommend the steak and eggs. Good coffee. Good coffee is a must for a cafe. Staff: very friendly and outgoing. Offer suggestions and recommendations. Presentable. Overall, strongly recommend for breakfast or lunch (they close at 2). I wish they had a location closer to the north shore.

7/27/2025 On a packed Sunday morning, it took 45 minutes to get breakfast. Despite the three servers, the space was uncomfortably warm, especially for the cooks and servers. The food arrived 45 minutes later, and my eggs over medium were dry, rubbery, and hard to cut through. The staff needs a better working environment, and the cook needs to understand how to cook eggs over medium, over easy, and well done.

Glad to have it here...food gets better and better. Pancakes are full of flavor. One of the best club sandwiches you will find. They use real turkey and ham that are sliced thick... I'm not a fan of stuffed animals on walls especially when I am eating. The corned beef hash was from a can, the turkey melt was good. Mont du lac owns this place but does not offer discounts when staying at the hotel.

Wabegon Bar & Grill is a great place to go for a casual meal or drinks outdoors. The staff is friendly and the food is good, especially during Fish Fry Fridays. The only downside is that the building needs some repairs, but it's worth checking out nonetheless!
I got amazing service here. If you want the fish fry during Lent, call ahead (or message them on Facebook like I did!) and not only make a reservation, but specifically mention you want the fish fry. The lady who I talked to was super accommodating and not only set aside fish for me, but even saved me a baked potato! Several other disappointed patrons either left or had to order something else because they were out of fish; this was around 7 pm. I overheard a server saying they planned to order way more fish for the following Friday, though. The fish was done just how I like it (crispy and not overly battered), and their homemade tartar sauce was yummy. I also enjoyed a Spotted Cow on tap. Being "the only bar in WI you can only get to from the MN side" makes this place unique. It has a nice, typical WI bar feel to it so if that's what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed. My husband described it as "in the middle of nowhere," which I think adds to the experience :D This place is bigger than it looks when you first walk in, as there's a dining room separate from the bar area. Highly recommended!

This is a sweet county bar. The fish fry is awesome! If you're looking to go off the beaten path and hit up a sweet little mom and pop bar, then the Wabegon Bar & Grill is the place to go! Will be going back for sure!

Really good authenic Wisconsin Friday night fish fry. Large ice cold beers, perfect old fashions. The only downside was it was a hot day, and we were seated in the back room, way, way too warm. Bar area was comfortable.

It was a bit unclear where this place was at first because we didn't see a sign on the building & it's down a dirt road near Mont du Lac. We sat outside on the patio, which is a nice option to enjoy the outdoors but nothing in particular to see. Inside was a typical bar/restaurant look/feel. Cheese curds were excellent right out of the deep frier. Reuben sandwich was delicious. BLT was surprisingly good for a more basic sandwich - loved the cranberry wild rice bread. Friendly service! Would come again!

Great people running a great Tavern. Everything I've eaten there over the years has been really well prepared. Always good beers on tap. An amazing Bloody Mary!

Had a great fish fry here last weekend! Just on the Wisconsin side of the St Louis River,.and right next to Mont do Lac Ski and Rec area. I can't say enough about the FANTASTIC service! Sat at the bar, and the bartender was one of the best servers ever. I was using a gift certificate, and didn't bring cash to top. I offered to buy something else just so I could leave a nice tip. He says, "It's all good. Pay it forward, and double the next server." I'll tell that story 100 times.

Patrons rave about the food's excellence, particularly recommending the mouthwatering 1/3 pound burgers. Observing other dishes being served only further confirms their quality.
Wow this place was wonderful. I was really impressed, the waitress, Terri, was super friendly and the food was so delicious. Real down-home American food joint. I had the hot roast beef sandwich and my wife had the hot turkey sandwich followed by a slice of blueberry pie, homemade for only $2.50! Wow! There's a lot of down home charm in this restaurant if you are in Duluth or Superior you definitely got to check this place out.

Haven't not been here in a long time, so I wanted to try it again. But after last night's to go order, I would not recommend this to anyone. It was awful food. We ate it only because we were hungry and I was already home. It's my fault for not checking the to-go boxes before I left. I had been a line cook and sous chef and various restaurants in this area, and I would have never served the food this cook served. Ordered the chicken tender basket and the fish basket and an order of onion rings, and the only thing that wa decent was the onion rings, but they were not overcooked and were super cold. The tenders were super small and dried out and hard. French Fries were barely cooked soggy. The fish for the fish basket was overcooked and burnt and tasteless. I can not believe that the cook would cook any of this food like they did!

Good homemade tasting food & if you're going to the Lake Superior zoo it's right next to it. Very convenient. Parking is great, which is definitely hard to find depending on where you go in Duluth.

Old school bar and restaurant. Honestly, the food is so reasonably priced there are no complaints. The specials are always good, portions are clean your plate and leave satisfied size. Box mashed potatoes aside, I will continue to enjoy the food here!

I was extremely disappointed. I was looking forward to good prime rib. When we (group of 10) got there, we were told that there are 6 pieces of prime rib left. I was lucky enough to get one. I ordered it medium rare. When it arrived, it was well done, dry, tasteless. I ate 3 (terrible)bites. When I said something, waitress explained that she told us they were down to the last few pieces. I told her that she could have told me there were no medium rare pieces left. I paid for good food, and my dog loved it.

Great atmosphere and wonderful bartenders & staff! Had so much fun! We were there with my parents who are in their 70s and my daughter in her 20s! And fun was had by all. Pulltab booth was a lot of fun. We won some money. We didn’t eat so I can’t comment on the food.

I mean for bar food it was ok. The service sucked , waitresses was too busy bebopping around the bar, so we had to go up to the bar and order our food. Watched the bar tender stick her finger in a person shot before serving it to him. Nasty place ! Definitely not worth going there ever again.

Outback Steakhouse is a lively Australian-themed chain that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for friends to gather and enjoy hearty steakhouse dishes. Known for their high-quality, flavorful steaks cooked to perfection, this restaurant prides itself on serving up generous portions with a side of Aussie hospitality. While the future of the company may be uncertain, patrons have praised the friendly service and delicious food at Outback Steakhouse, making it a popular choice for gatherings and special occasions.
As soon as I walked in, the host was super friendly and helped me to my seat. Not even 5 minutes later, the waitress was there to take our drink order. She was so nice and polite, and she got our drinks to us in about 3 minutes. She gave us time to look at the menu and then when we ordered, she was very efficient and didn’t need any repeats. The owner, Jen Thomas, came up to the table and asked how we were doing, which was really nice to see. Not one complaint on anything. Steak (11oz sirloin) was a perfect medium rare, and my salad was amazing. Thank you Jen Thomas for an amazing experience.

Delivery was on time. My total spend was $62.83 and DoorDash showed the subtotal of ~$47 and tip amount, not the fees and taxes I also paid. Why lie about the money spent on the order as an Outback/Doordash business practice? Aussie fries are $4.99 and I counted 24 fries in the container :/ tasty and expensive potato. I took pics. The mashed potatoes taste great hot but as they cool, they end up having a bitter aftertaste. That’s not the nature of potatoes so must be some binder/preservative or the cooking process. Grilled shrimp on Barbie is yum.

Stopped in to this location after meeting up with family. Our server was great. He was attentive and friendly... Made us feel welcome. The margaritas were good but the food was only okay. I had an "18 oz" ribeye that was as thin as a pancake and overcooked. There's no way that thing weighed more than 10 oz before cooking.

MICHAEL WAS AMAZING!! outstanding service. He sat down with us at the table and talked! Very sociable, very open and down to earth. He was the absolute best server I've had in forever! Not only was he full of energy for our table, for the tables with low energy He matched them! Made himself likeable to every party! He was super fast with drinks refills, makes sure your drinks aren't empty! I am coming back to see him soon!

I came in and the restaurant was pretty empty and I sat at the bar. The bartender was a little socially awkward but nice. He engaged in good conversation and made me feel welcome the entire time I was there. He was training somebody as well. I’m not sure if this is a good practice or not, but the trainee was on his cell phone and was also chewing gum. Overall, the food was good and worth the price. I got the boneless 13 ounce ribeye and it was cooked right and came within a reasonable amount of time. I’ll definitely be back in the near future.

Though I've only been to a handful of Outback Steakhouses, the Outback Steakhouse in Duluth is far and away the best one I've been to -- and one of the best steakhouses I've been to! First off, a lovely hostess held the door open for us, greeting us warmly. We were also greeted very kindly by the host and our very nice hostess seated us promptly. Our server was Ozell, and he was absolutely fantastic!! Very pleasant and friendly! He checked on us often, making sure we had plenty of bread and drink refills. Our food was also brought to us in a very timely manner. My friend and I both got the 3 course meal, starting with fresh, delicious salads (including crisp lettuce, fresh tomatoes and slices of onions, croutons, ect), a very flavorful and juicy 6 oz steak, fresh delicious broccoli (my friend enjoyed the loaded baked potato), and absolutely fantastic cheesecake with raspberry sauce! Oh, and the bread was fresh, warm, and amazing!! Our meals were very reasonably priced and the atmosphere was clean and pleasant. I just want to say thank you to Ozell, the other wonderful servers who brought out our food, the friendly host/hostesses, and the talented chefs. Our meals were amazing and our experience was one of the best ever!! We will absolutely be back when we visit Duluth again!!

Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast during the week and dine at the on-site restaurant and lounge. Additionally, the restaurant features an outdoor patio dining area for warmer seasons.
First time staying in this hotel and we had a wonderful experience. Yes, the rooms are a little dated but very decent and clean for a 2 stars hotel. The staff members are amazing! I specifically would like mention Ryan Y. Ryan went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable, accommodating our requests, and we’re very grateful to her! Her dedication to customer’s service is one of the reasons we’ll be coming back. We enjoyed pool and sauna very much. The location is beautiful and convenient. Bottom line, we will be coming back and already recommended this hotel to our family and friends, who love coming to lake Superior area.

The hotel lobby is decorated for fall very cute. It has a pool hot tub game room and pool table for entertainment maybe more. The rooms are nice clean a little dated Not enough outlet near the beds. Incredible view walking trails visible from room. Significantly cheaper than staying on the Minnesota side strongly recommend.

We booked a King room, when I called the morning of our stay I was told it was a 2 bed queen. Upon arrival we were told it was a 2 bed full. This was to be pur 10 year anniversary trip. We had other reservation in the area that we ended up canceling because there were no open rooms anywhere else. We ended up driving 2 hours back home. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Kendra V — Google review
This was a neat location but the hotel rooms are in dire need of work. We checked in and when we got to our room noticed hair in the bed and bathroom along with dust everywhere. When I called the front desk the phone in the room wouldn’t work and it was so dirty that I didn’t even try to fix it. We switched rooms and the second one was better but some of the towels still had stains. We could barely pull hard enough to turn our shower on, the bathroom was half painted and had unfilled screw holes. There were very few outlets that were accessible and the box springs made noise everytime we moved. Our room keys took multiple attempts to work each time. It was late and we had our young kids with us so we just gave baths and crashed. The front desk staff was nice and didn’t question us but didn’t offer any discount or anything even though we had to walk the length of the building 3 times with tired kids. Had breakfast in the restaurant and it was very good. But the floors were very dirty and the bathrooms had a smokey smell. Seems like it was a cool place back in the day but it is not kept clean and is way over priced.

Me and my boyfriend are frequent customers we come here a lot it’s our favorite hotel. The staff love us and love our business. There’s a few little things like they take awhile to clean our room I understand maybe there ain’t enough housekeepers but they make sure we are stocked and taken care of. There’s only downfall that happened was we got a rash from the hot tub but it’s not a big deal it wasn’t anything major. That being said I will continue to give them my business it’s our favorite hotel in the superior area.
Lisa Z — Google review
Let the photos tell the story. Not a “resort” other than there’s a restaurant and pool on premises. They asked if 1 key card was sufficient as they had run low on cards and couldn’t give each guest one. It’s old and in need of a lot of work. Maybe I’ll sleep on it and feel better about the whole thing in the morning?
A D — Google review
I was very disappointed with this place. The service which usually means management was lacking. The check in person was nonexistent for over an hour. I know you lost one booking for sure because they said they were going somewhere else. The bartender disappeared for at least a half hour looking for her, which of course means he’s not able to do his job. Now for our room. We ran out of toilet paper so I called down to the desk. Her response was,”I have some here. I won’t be able to deliver it because I’m by myself.” Why wasn’t that on the housekeeping checklist?
Linda S — Google review
We stayed here for one night to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. We expected something clean and comfortable for the price ($280), but instead we got one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. When we walked into our room, we were immediately hit with a strong cigarette smell. We opened the window and turned on the air to try to clear it out, only to find the AC unit caked with thick dust and grime. The window screen didn’t even fit properly. From there, it just kept getting worse: Mold in the shower head and bathroom, plus water damage with a sagging ceiling tile. An ancient TV with a terrible picture — and it was so old, there were channels with adult videos still available. The room looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 1980s — and hadn’t been deep cleaned in decades. Dust was everywhere. Dirty, stained sheets and comforters, dingy pillows, and a toilet with a stained, filthy bowl. No updated outlets anywhere in the room. The housekeeping closet was left wide open — no staff in sight — so I grabbed a new comforter myself because ours was disgusting. The only redeeming factor was the view — which did not make up for everything else. When I went to the front desk to address the issues, I was told the hotel was sold out (due to a wedding and a football team) so we couldn’t switch rooms (not that it would help). The staff gave me the standard “sorry for your inconvenience” speech and reduced my rate to $129. After a miserable night’s sleep on an old bed, I brought up my concerns again at checkout. The gentleman at the desk was more understanding and reduced my total to $73. After thinking about it, I’m upset I paid anything at all. This room should not have been rented to anyone, especially at $280 a night. Would their general manager sleep in that room? I highly doubt it. If you’re looking for a special place to celebrate an occasion, or even just a clean and functional room for the night, look elsewhere.

The Kitchen, situated in Superior's North End, is a beloved spot known for its homemade dishes at affordable prices. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant offers fantastic home-cooked meals that have garnered praise from many patrons. The ambiance exudes a nostalgic charm, and while it operates on a cash-only basis, the value for money is exceptional. The menu may not be extensive, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
If you are looking to have the best food of your life for the best prices you have seen since the early 2000s this is the place!!! My fiance got the night owl omelet which was huge and i had the eggs benedict and we each had 2 cups of coffee for $27 😱 It's hard to get 2 lattes for under $20 in this economy let alone a whole meal for 2 and 4 cups of coffee!! The services was extreamly fast and the staff was very kind and put everyone in a good mood with their vibrant personalities you can tell the kitchen values their employees and their individuality aswell as putting the customers and quality above all else so shop local and come to the kitchen! No crowds and no long waits. Definitely come and check out this place because they serve some of the best homemade food. Their food is even better than the stuff downtown. Their burger was juicy and great. They have an amazing cheese sauce that went with their special dish of the day. In addition, their onion rings itself was amazing. One of the Duluth residents recommended us this place and I would come back again to try their foods. Also, they have great servers and chill vibe. Delicious food and great staffs!

My family and I were rushing to make it to the Chalet to do some laundry and have breakfast. As a mother of 3, you can imagine we didn’t get out of the house on time. We were 10min late for breakfast. My 3 year old was devastated he couldn’t have pancakes (you know that 3 year old breakdown.. lol). Jess got my son pancakes. The staff did not have to accommodate us. We didn’t even ask for them to make it special, they just did. All I can say, is if you are looking to wash some blankets, bring the kids and have a drink to keep your day going.. this is the place for you. Super good “Diner style selections” but even better exceptional service. Thank you guys for making our experience grand! Women owned and operated!

Sammy's Pizza & Restaurant - Downtown is a beloved family-owned establishment that has been a staple in Duluth, MN since 1956. They are known for using the freshest ingredients and a secret mix of seasonings in their homemade sauce. In addition to classic pizzas, they offer an extensive menu featuring pastas, subs, burgers, stromboli, broasted chicken, soups, and salads.
This place passed the vibe check with flying colors. From the warm greeting at the door to the ultra-clean dining room, this place was magical. I'm in Duluth and I walk into a random pizza place. The first thing I see is a group of guys flipping pizza dough as they greet me. I walk past a UFC fight on the TV, sit down, and order a pizza. While I'm waiting, I'm watching a fight and realize they have beer on tap. It feels like being in an authentic family-owned pizza shop in New York in the best way. When the pizza came I was blown away. The pizza was perfectly cooked so there were tiny little black spots on the bottom of their freshly made crust, giving the pizza just the smallest hint of char. The sausage looked homemade, not like the little frozen nuggets we are all used to with big brands. The cheese topping balance was perfect. The oven was clean because I tasted no smoke. Everything you could want in a pizza place can be found here. They treat their customers like friends who've come over to eat pizza, drink beer, and watch the game. Forget a welcoming atmosphere, I felt at home. This place is run well and the manager should be very proud. If I could give more than five stars I would, and if I'm ever in Duluth again, I'm going back.

Definitely a good Italian pizza made by a crew that's been doing this together for a long time, the camaraderie of the team and the diligent follow-up of the guy that is either the manager or owner was impressive and made sure they run a tight ship. The Pizza is cooked on a stone and has a magnificent crust. I was less impressed with the sausage it was llacking enough fennel and didn't have a real strong Italian flavor) but the pepperoni was cooked perfect and cuped into a nice crisp crusts on the outer edges. Good food, fast friendly service.

Fantastic delivery service! Awesome driver with the fun snowman up front!! Unfortunately it took 1.5 hours to go a few blocks (I get it dinner rush!) but our food was not as great. We’ve eaten years and years worth of Sammy’s. It’s a families favorite. This time, The sauce on the pizza was bland, watery and thin as heck! I’m wondering if they changed the recipe 😞The crust was sad and burnt and the garlic bread was burned too :/ this “meal” costed $45!! Definitely not worth it this time. We’ve spent so much money, time and memories eating at this restaurant and ordering from them. We are giving it 1 more chance to prove the quality and worthiness of our $ for pizza. Otherwise we are done :( “yes the sauce tasted like dominos!” quoted from grandma.

Pretty gazz pizza. The service was great and everyone super friendly. We got the pesto pizza and it was very good all around. A cheezy pizza, the pizza bottom was a little flimsy; not hard or dry and the crust was perfect and flaky. We got some spaghetti and fettuccine Alfredo . I have to say the spaghetti was kind of mid and the fettuccine too. Just seemed like the sauces weren’t quality.

Sun setting on another day. A day with many mixed emotions with Mick's Memoral at Fosters. A big Thank you to Pete and John and the waitresses for making this a success! A special "Thank you" to Courtney who volunteered to come in and wait on us on her day off. ❤️

Food was good but the menu was outdated. Meals were $2 more each but wasn’t signed or stated anywhere. Grilled potatoes were on the menu for $2 but apparently that’s not a thing anymore either so they charge $4.99. Definitely won’t be returning

Place has really went downhill. They will close whenever they want. Food is ok at best. Very poor service

Closed at 9:30 Thursday 6/19/25 with people still at the bar. Update your hours please. Thanks!

Really good food. Staff paid great attention to other staff members. A lot of visiting amongst themselves instead of the customers. There was enough staff on duty that they could've cleaned the bathrooms. The bathrooms were disgusting. This would be a great episode on Bar Rescue.

Seriously can't get enough of Fosters. I've NEVER had a bad meal, they have some really fun staff and regulars! When you come, definitely try and chat with some of the people at the bar. It makes the best experience ❤️

Fantastic food and great service. Full bar, pull tabs, other bar games. Great menu with daily specials. Not somewhere to go for the decor, but it is a friendly place with low top and high top tables, booths and bar seating.
