Pizza restaurant

Gluten-free restaurant
Pizza Lucé in Duluth, MN is a well-loved pizzeria offering a variety of creative pizzas, pasta dishes, hoagies, and more in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its innovative and award-winning pizzas, with options catering to vegan and gluten-free diets. Their menu also includes hoagies, pasta, salads, and appetizers like spinach and artichoke dip.
Drinks: Blackberry Martini & the raspberry barrette both delicious. For dinner: Caesar Salad & Elote pizza Fantastic food with fantastic service and atmosphere. Sat in the bar after hours. Will be back again.
Clarissa M — Google review
For the pizza we had a Large "The Bear" meat lovers style. Might have liked a little more crispness to the crust... But all together it was good. Not heavy on sauce and a hand tossed light airy crust. Lasagna was fantastic. I would come back for this next time personally. Delicious red sauce with a great little bit of spice. Also did a Gouda Mac n cheese to go. It seized up after cooling so didn't hit as well, so not going to rate based on that. Large Pizza was $31 but other items were in the $10 to $15 dollar range. Will definitely go back if traveling through again.
Bradley P — Google review
It was all really good. Only complaint I have is when I order an appetizer it should come out before your meal not with your meal. But our waitress was extremely nice and friendly, and yes everything we ordered was a hit with all off us.
Southern F — Google review
The food was ok. The bruschetta appetizer had no cheese and they did not give us enough bread. The stuffed shells were delicious but the portion was a bit small. The sandwich and salad bowl were also decent. Service was ok and the wait wasn’t too long even though the restaurant was busy. Atmosphere was good and the table was clean.
Olive T — Google review
Good service, great food. Even the simple traditional Italian spaghetti and meatballs was a delightful experience. And the deserts were fire, the peanut butter brownie sundae was MASSIVE, so be warned, you will need to share it.
Henry A — Google review
Quite an interesting pizza offering. Glad it was all thin crust. Best part was the bar vibes. Love that neon sign!
Deovandski J — Google review
This place has been amazing for many years and is a fun place to hang out for pizza and drinks. There is so much to this place and its all great. The food was fabulous as it always is. We had a couple pizzas and they both were great flavor, cooked perfectly and perfect amount of toppings. I love the mixed drinks they make, blackberry lemon martinis are a favorite. Service is excellent, they are very good at making sure to get to everyone in a timely manner and make it inviting to be there. Can't wait to go back!

Stopped in for a pizza after hiking at Jay Cooke state park. I got a gluten free pizza and mocktail they where both delicious. I always enjoy the art inside the dinning area.

New American restaurant
Bar
Restaurant
Lake Avenue Restaurant & Bar is a casual dining spot in Canal Park, located in the DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace. It offers inventive New American cuisine and regional cocktails in a relaxed setting with outdoor seating. The menu features shareable plates like Beef Tartare, Fresh Mussels, and Charred Shishitos, as well as entrees such as Lamb Tikka Masala, Brick Quail, Salmon, Bulgogi Wagyu Skirt Steak, and Toasted Orzo.
My husband & I enjoyed yet another LOVELY evening at Lake Avenue - from the chef's counter, we sipped tasty cocktails (mezcal & negroni) while observing the chefs & servers create the most perfect meal & experience for all, everything seemed to run flawlessly! We started with the most delicious calamari (perfectly cooked with a chili kick) & next, the warm kale salad (a must eat) and salmon dish. What a perfect evening! Thank you all for taking such good care of us, we cant wait to return!
Vanessa K — Google review
The food was good however not spectacular. I had the red snapper ceviche and the pork belly sandwich for dinner with a black sesame cheesecake for dessert. The sandwhich was amazing but the fries were plain. The ceviche was watery (if that makes sense) but still good, and the cheese cake was average. The wait staff was incredible however and I would definitely go back.
Josiah W — Google review
This place was excellent! It’s a little hidden and you have to go through the market entrance. The salmon was great and I think the portion was perfect for me. I also got the carrot cake for dessert and it was super rich and dense. Super delicious spot for dinner!
Hannah M — Google review
I've not left a restaurant with such a deep understanding of its city like I have with Lake Avenue. Duluth's urban renewal is charming in the same way a childrens' soccer match is, in that there is an earnest attempt regardless of the result. The same cannot be said about Lake Avenue. A rotating menu will always be bold, and I would have commended them for this had the execution not been so poor. In the images I've included, you'll see the Tofu Masala ($24), the Mac and Cheese ($20), and the Steak Dinner ($53). While I cannot be certain which ingredients were used to push these dishes to such a steep price, I know salt was not one of them. The keen-eyed gourmet will undoubtedly spot the great unifying force of the culinary world, fresno chili and pickled red onion. The unnecessary inclusion of these in both the Tofu Masala and the Steak Dinner unfortunately speaks truth to Lake Avenue's attempt at being something it is not - a restaurant worthy of its prices. Neither the Steak nor Tofu Masala benefit from these flavors, but if your menu is on rotation and you lack the culinary experience to accommodate this, it does provide a universal shock to the palette that might distract your guests from the dish's lack of cohesion. In other circumstances, I would not be so harsh, but the $120 (pre-tip) bill my partner and I paid makes that irresponsible. This is Duluth, Minnesota; leave Lake Avenue, walk 20 seconds in any direction and you'll wind up in a T-Shirt shop or a Bar & Grill. Lake Avenue is not fighting the expectations of its patrons, but the ones that it sets upon itself. Find what works and do it well. No one is asking for anything else.
Logan — Google review
Our visit to Lake Avenue Restaurant & Bar was truly enjoyable. We stopped by during a quiet period, so we were seated right away. One of the owners, who was both friendly and attentive, looked after us. We tried the Biscuits and Gravy (without the chili oil) and the Carrot Cake French Toast—both dishes were outstanding and unlike anything we'd tasted before. We're certain we'll return in the future.
Curt O — Google review
Wonderful atmosphere. Nice attentive staff. Food was PHENOMINAL!! only thing I wish different is that the red snapper was the entire fish head on and scored. Most places that serve red snapper do the entire fish. Here it's only 1 fillet. The fish is not quite big enough to do only one fillet. But it was delicious! The calamari was some of the best I've ever had and im from florida and eat a LOT of calamari!
Andrew D — Google review
Very nice setting, the atmosphere was wonderful. The food was great, and the drinks were also amazing. I highly recommend the Hurricane. Rio was our server and he was very polite and had a good sense of humor. I will be coming back here in the future.
Aaron O — Google review
I ordered the red snapper with white bean purée for my entree and it was fantastic. We also shared the pork lettuce wrap with bulgogi sauce and kimchi, also super tasty and I highly recommend. We had as appetizer but it could be a lite dinner or lunch entree.

Bakery
Positively 3rd Street Bakery, located in Duluth, is a popular spot for baked goods and has recently started offering free lunch packs for families in need. Due to the closure of some of their wholesale accounts like restaurants and coffee shops, the bakery's business has slowed down significantly. The storefront is open for pickup with limited capacity, ensuring only four people are allowed inside at a time.
Really enjoy having a bakery with lots of different options within walking distance. I usually get my favorite danish but I’m glad they rotate new items to try. Most items are vegetarian or vegan.
Zane Z — Google review
How could one give anything but five stars all around to this place! So many delightful options and all delicious! You can’t go wrong. The only drawback for this early worm is that it doesn’t open until 730, but you have to assume that the bakers are getting started early w/ these delectable treats and are getting them out as fast as they can.
Clara D — Google review
The best bakery I have been to in a LONG TIME. Our family tradition when traveling to northern Mn (few times a year) is that we ALWAYS stop at a bakery at the half way point. Tobies was our entire family’s special tradition but they let us down to many times so we needed a new bakery and we found it !!! I will be taking my family here for years and years to come. The customer service was amazing, it’s a small worker owned business and the food/ desserts were to die for! We came at the end of the day so the employee even gave us free samples. I am so glad she did because everything we got was great but they blew me away by far!! It is the cinnamon and sugar croissant muffin pictured!! The flourless chocolate cake took me back to my childhood neighbors brownies that I have never been able to find anywhere or create but I finally got to taste something VERY similar and it was phenomenal. Everything was amazing and I WILL be taking another trip to Duluth soon just to get to taste these amazing treats again! This is our new family spot! Thank you, 3rd St bakery and staff!

The best bakery on the North Shore! My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon it during a visit to Duluth. They have a very nice selection of baked goods. We love their chocolate croissants, ginger cookies, blueberry muffins and scones. We make a point of stopping in every time we are in the area. It was so nice to find a high quality bakery in Duluth.
Maureen C — Google review
Awesome bakery. The blackbird and sourdough breads were delicious. Also the black bean brownie and ginger cookies are super tasty. Thanks for having awesome vegan options. We stopped in while traveling. We had to stop again on the way home for some treats to take back. We will be making this a regular stop when passing through Duluth.
Daniel S — Google review
Super cute worker owned bakery, specializing in chocolate (chock full of chocolaty filling), caramel croissants, flaky and buttery, lemon blueberry scones, cookies and artisan breads. 1st time here and we’re thrilled. Picked up bakery for our drive to Gooseberry Falls and then bike to and from Split Rock. Our reward for our work. Amazing treats and that bread, so delicious, red pepper and cheese with just the right spice. Highly recommend!

Positively Third Street Bakery is a hidden gem - it’s one of our favorite places to stop when we head up to Duluth. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. Our kids especially enjoy free cookie day on Sundays. We’ve tried the bread and a variety of pastries and cookies. All of it has been fantastic!

The Cozy Hen Cheesecakes is a delightful local spot known for its delectable cheesecakes. Customers rave about the flavorful and well-textured varieties in the sampler, each with a delicious crust that complements the cheesecake perfectly. The owner, Heather, goes above and beyond to accommodate orders and ensure customers have a fantastic experience.
They saved the day when I needed a birthday cheesecake at the very last minute due to the dog opening the refrigerator and helping himself to the one I had made the day before. They were not open yet so I sent an email and received both a call and text in response very fast. Amazing customer service and delicious cheesecake! She even threw in some chocolate fudge for free that I could use to customize it for my daughters birthday. Saved the day!!! Very highly recommend! Thank you so much

Been getting the tiramisu cheesecake for years for my son's birthday. He just loves it. Also easy to order, ready on time without issues and tastes amazing.
Wander_Woman — Google review
I was trying to find a good spot for tiramisu cake for my birthday and this place didn’t disappoint! It’s smooth and creamy. The wrapping was also adorable. I didn’t realize it would be cheesecake tiramisu so I was more excited considering I both love tiramisu and cheesecake. I definitely recommend and for the price it’s worth it. I would buy again!!

Had a slice of blueberry cheesecake while out for dinner at Lyric- the cheesecake was from Cozy Hen and now I want to go buy a whole cake and then some! So light and fruity and just so delicious!!!
Katie K — Google review
The Cozy Hen is a fantastic option for the Duluth area! We had them cater our wedding with their amazing cheesecakes. We also ordered another sampler for our 1 year anniversary trip back up to Duluth. We weren't going to make it up in time to pick up, so they delivered it to our hotel 🥰 Favorite flavors, caramel apple, turtle, and lemon!!
Jocelyn A — Google review
My favorite food is cheesecake and my husband surprised me on our 30th wedding Anniversary with one of these amazing cakes! It truly was the best cheesecake I have ever had!!! He got the sampler and every flavor was delicious. I have tried many, many cheesecakes and these were, by far the most flavorful with amazing texture. Also, I have never been fond of graham cracker crust. I feel like it competes with the flavor of the cheesecake. The crust on these all were awesome. They corresponded with each flavor. Even going as far as having a pastry on the eclair flavored cheesecake. You have to try this cheesecake!!!!
Michele T — Google review
Absolutely amazing! I bought some of the special Mike and Jens hot cocoa cheesecakes to give my clients and kept one for my family. I don’t usually like cheesecake but this was one of the tastiest things I have ever eaten! I highly recommend Cozy Hen!

Duluth's Best Bread is a local gem and a haven for bread enthusiasts. The almond croissant and flax bread are particularly beloved, with the almond croissant being a popular choice that often gets devoured on the way home due to its irresistible combination of crunch and creamy filling. The bakery offers a rotating daily menu featuring sandwiches, sweets, and other specials made with their delectable croissants. Customers can enjoy curbside pickup from their makeshift drive-through window during the week.
We stopped here for a coffee and pastry before a day of exploring the city. My oat milk cappuccino was good and so was my chocolate croissant. My dad loved his caramel roll and we got a couple loaves of bread to bring home. They don't have the best tea selections, but they do have local kombucha.
Lindsey H — Google review
We stopped in there during Duluth days to grab our son a pop tart. We got the flavor of the day and one for each of us. We let the employee know that we were taking it home for breakfast with our son and she gave us a nice to go container instead of a bag, to keep them fresh. She was very nice!! I forgot her name. The next morning we warmed up and ate our pop tarts and while they were very good, I wasn't super impressed. There was very little filling and it mostly tasted like a buttery flaky crust with lines of sweet frosting. I didn't feel the frosting and filling complimented each other at all. I appreciate the work that goes into these poptarts and they taste good. I just don't think I would pay $5.50 for one again.
Bobi S — Google review
Omigosh! The sourdough bread is so good. Has that tangy sourdough flavor you love! I bought 4 different flavored loaves to freeze and use. We also bought coffee and a scone. It was huge-one was plenty for two.
Sherri D — Google review
The almond croissant was good with almond filling inside. The pretzel and cheese was tasty. The spiced pear macaroon was the best thing we had. It was totally scrumptious!!! We had to pay to park on the street just to run in.
Jenn L — Google review
Stopped here while in Duluth! When my carb loving self saw Duluth’s Best Bread I came running! And so glad I did, the bakery’s items just melted in my mouth. Employee and I exchanged miscommunication on my order and when I went right back in they gave me my correct items at not cost. Definitely the type of atmosphere you want to feel when visiting a location. Beautiful people in a beautiful place 💗
Shasta M — Google review
I am a pastry and bread fanatic, and this place did not disappoint! They had everything from loaves of bread to muffins to pretzels to cookies. I was so impressed with the vast array of options they had. I loved that they served coffee as well. Want a flaky pastry and a local coffee? This is the place to go! The staff member helping us was chatty and made us feel welcomed right away.
Sjea A — Google review
Visiting from South Dakota - went on a Saturday morning after enjoying hilarious social media posts for years! The staff was Super friendly and fast! There was a constant flow of customers but No wait! The atmosphere was so cozy and cool in the old downtown building and the food was delicious! We had the pecan caramel rolls and Duluth latte, and bought additional treats and Rosemary sour dough bread to go. I can't wait to visit again!!
Mary M — Google review
Pastries were ok. I felt like they could have baked a little longer or something. The chocolate croissants felt dense on the bottom and very greasy from the butter. Either the lamination went wrong or in the bake and the layers seemed off. Most of it was just all right. I wasn’t blown away. But love that they started small and have multiple locations.

Duluth Grill is a beloved restaurant in Duluth, MN, offering a warm and modern atmosphere with an extensive breakfast menu. The eatery provides locally sourced comfort food with an eclectic twist, such as a creamy Havarti omelet stuffed with house-smoked salmon. Known for its made-from-scratch dishes and fresh ingredients, the restaurant offers hearty options like the Billy Bob Burrito and Deluxe Biscuits & Gravy.
This is a must stop for great breakfast or lunch when near Duluth. It was very busy the day we went, but only a few minutes wait for a table. The servers are all attentive and knowledgeable. They have a good selection of gluten free options. The grits were amazing. The rusted brussel sprouts were great. Delicious thick cut bacon. My family thought the cinnamon roll French toast was the best ever! They have home made lemonade, custom coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, and brunch cocktails. We went at lunch time on a weekday, and it was rather loud. But the food is so good.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My friends and I stopped here this morning on our way into Duluth and I’m so glad we did. The atmosphere was perfect, although it was super busy when we arrived , we were able to get seated fairly quickly! The cleanliness of the restaurant was a HUGE plus , each and every staff member/waiter was so welcoming! To top it off the food was incredible! The Barbacoa has was filled with so much flavor! Can’t say enough about it 🤍 also the farmers eggs was the perfect breakfast for my morning! 10 out of five stars! ⭐️ best part about it is breakfast and LUNCH served all day!! Plates were all beautifully presented!
Alishea C — Google review
Duluth Grill is a great place to grab some breakfast. They have a nice sized menu with takes on classics as well as some of their own special dishes. They even make most things on their menu from scratch even down things like their ketchup and lemonade. We tried quite a few things, and while the cinnamon roll was on the sweeter side it was still moist and fluffy. Everything else we have was very very fresh and not greasy at all. The main thing to note is the wait times. On average you may wait anywhere from 30mins to over an hour for a table depending on party size and where you want to sit. Definitely a must stop for anyone in Duluth looking for a good breakfast.
Ben R — Google review
The Duluth Grill was worth the 40 minute wait! I would definitely plan ahead if you want to eat her during peak hours. We had a party of five and we all had something different. Everybody raved about their food. Service was outstanding too! The standouts were the barbacoa hash and the brussel sprouts.
Jason C — Google review
While it’s quite busy on the weekends, it’s worth it. Great food with local Minnesota North woods flair. There is also a fantastic tea bar with specialty drinks. I return here whenever I’m in the area and I’ve never been disappointed. Great skillets, hash, and burritos (the Billy Bob is out of this world) for breakfast and brunch.
Cortney P — Google review
Lines are long but it is very easy to see why. The food is fantastic, easily the best chicken sandwich of my life. The server (Vera I think) was absolutely fantastic and was extremely careful with allergies. Cannot recommend enough!
Bethany H — Google review
The service was some of the best I've had. The food was delicious. I had the CU Tomago. It was a little difficult to eat but the flavors were amazing. I personally think the Korean brussel sprouts was the best part of the whole meal. I also ordered a Prickly Pear Lemonade-- very sweet and tangy refresher to go with your brunch!

There is nothing better than Duluth Grill after a sunrise photography adventure! Today I had Chili con Huevo and a caramel roll (that I intended to bring home). With a diverse menu featuring options like Thai chicken, coconut shrimp, and North Dakota Bison Burger, there's something for everyone. Vegetarians can enjoy beautiful salads and customizable mac and cheese. Located on London Road and 28th Ave East, the restaurant offers a variety of pasta and meat dishes at mid-range prices.
Loved the atmosphere with all the rich dark woods and dark lit dining area. Gave it a very calm environment. Food was good, maybe a 8 out of 10. Our server was punctual and made sure we were taken care of.

One star for the hostess that tried to make things right. Server was garbage! He never asked us every once if we wanted a cocktail - threw our food down in front of us. Didn’t listen to what we actually ordered never checked on us to see if it was correct which it was not. The view is nice But I’ve never had such terrible food and service. Senior citizens are the main consumers- Customer service and food quality is not their specialty. I would never go here again.
Heidi G — Google review
Amazing service. Off to a rough start. We were seated in the club room right next to a family that had 0 control of their children. They were very loud, jumping around in the booth and hitting the bench. I privately asked the server if we could be moved and they were quick to make it happen. Lobster bisque we ordered to share 10/10 Brussel sprouts we ordered to share 8/10, temperature could have been hotter. London road burger 10/10. This was a huge hit Macs meatloaf 9/10. Would definitely order again Swedish meatballs 5/10. Mashed potatoes and gravy were good but the meatballs didn't get eaten after we all got a taste. Seafood cioppino 12/10 this was fantastic - the potatos could have been left off

Evan was phenomenal! Thanks for taking care of the girls and myself! Food and drink was good, not going to lie, the orange dream martini curdled, the fifth amendment was bomb though. Thanks for the extra garlic Evan!

Duluth's Black Woods Bar & Grill “Blew My Mind!”—5 Stars of Northwoods Magic! 🍖🔥 (Hidden Gem Alert: You’ll Never Leave Hungry!) # #CertifiedSearchPro Holy smokes, Duluth foodies—Black Woods Bar & Grill is the ultimate spot for that hearty, feel-good meal that'll transport you straight to a cozy Minnesota cabin! Tucked away in the heart of Duluth, this place nails the rustic vibe with its warm wood-paneled walls, crackling fireplaces (perfect for those chilly lake days), and an ambiance that screams 'up-north retreat.' Whether you're grabbing a booth inside or chilling on their patio with views of the surrounding woods, it's like stepping into a lodge from the old logging era—think antler chandeliers, vintage photos of Duluth's timber history, and that inviting glow that makes you want to linger for hours. It's family-friendly yet date-night perfect, with a menu that celebrates all things Minnesota fresh and flavorful. The food? Out-of-this-world delicious! We're talking juicy prime rib slow-roasted to perfection, walleye fillets pan-fried with that crispy edge (a true North Shore staple), and burgers stacked high with local cheeses and bacon that'll make your taste buds dance. Don't sleep on their craft cocktails or the extensive beer list featuring Minnesota brews—pair it with apps like the wild rice soup or onion rings, and you're in heaven. The portions are massive (pro tip: share if you don't want to roll out the door!), and the service is top-notch—friendly staff who treat you like old friends, sharing stories about Duluth's hidden trails while refilling your drinks. The ONLY quirky downside? The portions are SO generous, you might need a nap afterward—it's like they feed lumberjacks here! 😂 But hey, that's just more bang for your buck in this food paradise. No regrets, just full tummy and happy memories. If you're in Duluth, this is a MUST-VISIT for epic eats and that authentic Northwoods charm. Who's joining me for round two? Tag your adventure buddies and let's spread the word! #BlackWoodsDuluth #MinnesotaEats #NorthwoodsVibes #SteakLovers #DuluthDining #LakeSuperiorFood #ViralEats #TravelMinnesota"

We had an incredible dining experience at Blackwood’s Grill and Bar in Duluth, MN. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and comfortable, the kind of place where you know you're in for a great meal and an even better time. The food was outstanding across the board. We started with the soup, which was rich, hearty, and full of flavor, clearly made from scratch. The drinks were well-balanced and expertly crafted, with something for everyone in our group. The highlight of the night, though, was definitely the entrées. The walleye was cooked to perfection, flaky, tender, and seasoned just right, a true taste of the Northwoods. The steak was equally impressive, juicy and full of flavor with a beautiful sear on the outside and a perfect medium rare inside. What truly elevated the experience was the service. Our waitress was fantastic — attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and incredibly professional. She checked in with us frequently to make sure we were happy with everything and kept our drinks and table in perfect order throughout the evening. It’s rare to find a place that nails it on all fronts; food, drinks, atmosphere, and service; but Blackwood’s delivered on every level. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Duluth, this is one spot that deserves a visit. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we’ll be back. Highly, highly recommend!

The New Scenic Café is an intimate restaurant offering sophisticated New American cuisine with partial lake views and a garden. During the pandemic, the café was mostly closed, but owner Scott Graden started a food truck called Scenic 61 to fill the void during warmer months. The food truck, housed in an Airstream trailer, served classic menu items like lobster rolls and salmon burgers at Canal Park.
Jackson was friendly and went the extra mile for my grandparents (ages 89 and 91) - food was SO good- happy I could eat a meal that was totally gluten and dairy free and delicious! Can’t wait to go back! I recommend reservations as it was busy! Only took off one star for atmosphere as it was really hot, it’s a small building😃

Wow! Outstanding food. Amazing service. So glad we picked the New Scenic Cafe to celebrate our anniversary! We had the deviled eggs, mussels, lobster roll, scallops and Bear chocolate cake. Best meal we’ve had dining out in awhile. Jolene was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We highly recommend if you’re looking for something a little different and something with amazing food.

Scandinavian inspired, IKEA meets the woods. Service started out strong then became a little less thorough, not sure if they were stretched thin that night. I had the Rack of lamb and my friend had the game plate. I loved the lamb rack. The game plate was fun, venison, duck, Qual. The 3% surcharge for credit cards is kind or ridiculous considering the price point and markup on beverages. The bonfire outside while you wait for a table is really nice.

Went with a friend last weekend and LOVED it. Sat in room that overlooks the lake but since we arrived shortly before closing it was too dark to see anything unfortunately. The service was nothing short of amazing….unfortunately I forgot his name but he was personable and very enthusiastic! When we asked him his option he gave us a rundown of the entire menu in detail (not too long) so we could make the best decision…definitely made the experience better! We split: 1. For the life of me I can’t remember what the first one was (with the beef and leaf on top) - (4.5/5) BUT it delicious - wish it were a little bigger though 2. Swedish Meatballs - (4.5/5) - amazing 3. Chicken - (4/5) very tasty and the sauce was good (and I don’t like mushrooms so that’s saying a lot) 4. Brioche French Toast (1000000000/5) - If I ever go back to Duluth I’m going back because of this! No exaggeration to say one of the best desserts I’ve ever had and I have a massive sweet tooth. A couple walking out felt the need to tell us to get that dessert (unsolicited) and 2 guys sitting beside us also got it and seeing two grown men bouncing up and down in their seats while eating was enough to get me to try it…it was heavenly.

This place is a true gem. It's not to out of the way either. Fortunately someone recommended this place to me, so I knew where to find it. I stopped in on my way back from visiting Two Harbors and Split Rock. Service was great and so was the food. I had the special...Sashimi Tuna Tacos and a glass of white wine. Yum...Yum...Yum!!! The place itself was rustic and charming. After eating I sat outside in one of the lawn chairs and soaked in the amazing view of the lake. Side note...when they hand you your bill they also give you a journal to write about your experience there. Love that!

This was probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in the past decade. My wife and I made a reservation for ourselves plus our 5-month old at new Scenic Café based on recommendations from friends and rave reviews on the Internet. Our experience was anything but rave. Food. We ordered a few oysters on the half shell. The accompaniments on the plate were nice, but the oysters themselves were small and notably the least cold of any raw oyster I’ve ever been served. We also ordered the muscles at our waiters recommendation. The curry broth was fine, but rather one note with just curry flavor. The only dish that we thought was good and lived up to this restaurant’s fine dining aspirations was the plum, which was artfully plated and had fantastic textures. We had the Swedish meatballs that our waiter recommended and described as “ definitely better than IKEA”, which only invited the comparison and they honestly were quite similar. Finally, we had the miso Seabass, which was well prepared and tender. The accompaniment of seaweed, carrot and radish felt like an afterthought. The seaweed tasted the same as something you would get from a package. Service. Our service was awful. Our waiter was boisterous with menu recommendations when we first sat down and then abandoned our table for at least 30 minutes while tending to a much larger table. He finally came back and took our order and there was a long wait for our appetizers to arrive, probably another 45 minutes. A while after we had finished the appetizers, we noticed the waiter walking our way and quickly wheel back around towards the kitchen. He came back about five minutes later to say that the kitchen hadn’t forgotten about us, and that our food was being worked done. We then waited at least another half hour. In the meantime, we watched entire courses be brought out to other tables. At this point, our waiter came by and did mention that dessert would be on the restaurant due to the delay. After waiting another 15 minutes, our food finally arrived as the last guests in the restaurant besides us left. Our waiter became more sparse by this point, presumedly avoiding us due to the awkwardness of the situation. At the end of the night, the waiter came by and amended his prior offer of dessert and suggested that he could send us home with a piece of cake to go, presumably because the kitchen had now closed as we were the only people left in the restaurant and they would not want to reopen it to make dessert. On reflection, there were multiple points, where I wish that our waiter would have realized that he was not providing proper service to our table and is inattentiveness was causing delays. I would typically expect that he would ask other staff to help or ask his manager for assistance. Atmosphere. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, we were placed in a room with two other small tables and one table of approximately 20 people. Due to the small size of the room, this table was extremely loud. I don’t fault the patrons, but do you think that the restaurant should not have seated other guests in this room with such a large party there. We are neither strangers to find dining nor are we frequently eating nice meals out. We really enjoy cooking for ourselves and love going to fine dining restaurants that we think are doing things better than we could accomplish at home, all well enjoying a level of service that makes the experience feel special. With regards to the food, New Scenic Cafe is not doing anything so innovative or special so as to make the food itself feel special or worth the high price that they are asking. I have been to plenty of other restaurants that disappoint somewhat on food and that is fine. However, I do hope for an experience and service that make up for what the food itself cannot accomplish. Unfortunately, this is where Scenic Cafe fell flat. What a disappointment and low point for an otherwise nice trip to the North Shore. Next time we’ll just stop at Culvers.

Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Creative takes on classic dishes. NOT for you if you are looking for great big helpings of comfort food. This is proper cuisine. Modest helpings of food that is adventurous interesting and delicious. Mission figs with blue cheese and walnuts. Meatballs in cream sauce. A Vietnamese sandwich that I can't spell with a side of kimchee. Six different NA beers! Great service. Pleasant bistro atmosphere. Plenty of free parking. During the summer and fall tourist season, there are long waits to get in. We went in the middle of the afternoon in November and were seated right away.

Va Bene is a vibrant Italian restaurant located on the shores of Lake Superior, offering a blend of indoor and outdoor dining experiences. The warm and lively atmosphere provides stunning views of the expansive lake from various vantage points within the restaurant. Guests can enjoy fresh, scratch-made Italian fare while taking in the breathtaking scenery. The enclosed solarium offers an exceptional setting to savor pasta dishes and creative salads while admiring the picturesque surroundings.
Our server Tom was one of the most personable professional server we have had in a long time. He did a great job helping us pick out a wine and was patient. Food was fantastic, we will make this our go to place when we visit.

This is a local gem! The food is over-the-top delicious. In fact, my guest, who has eaten all over the world, said that the Maple Glazed Salmon Risotto made his top 5 best meals ever. My gnocchi with basil pesto was exceptional. You can't get better food or views anywhere else. Tom was an excellent server as well. Thank you for an amazing meal and service!

The food was delicious and the service good. The view is usually spectacular. I would have given 5 stars, but the last two times we've gone they've been out of the gnocchi, which is what I planned to order. I would highly recommend the gnocchi and beef tips (if you're lucky), or sub for the shells with San Marzano sauce and beef tips (close second). My husband loves the carbonera. Will be back, but will probably call head, even with reservations. Fingers crossed I can get the Gnocchi the next time we go!

10/10 highly recommend. The BEST Italian I’ve ever had except for the food I ate while traveling in Italy. Absolutely delicious food, great service, and stunning views. Don’t forget a scoop of gelato to go. I would go out of my way to eat here again and again! Be sure to plan your visit in advance, a reservation is likely needed - especially if you want to sit in the lofted area overlooking Lake Superior.

We were recommended by several people in Duluth to try Va Bene, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience. To start, the host could have been more attentive. I understand they were very busy and I appreciated being seated as a walk-in, but when I arrived, I stood waiting for a couple of minutes. Another customer came in after me, and the host helped her first before finally noticing me. We were seated at The Grotto, the downstairs patio overlooking the lake, and were told we could only stay for about an hour. For drinks, we ordered a black coffee, which was warm and not good, and a Purple Rain (lemonade with lavender syrup), which was average. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive. We ordered the Pasta Alla Zucca Violina (butternut squash with creamy pecan sauce) and the Spicy Erbe with sausage. The sausage was the only ingredient we enjoyed. The squash pasta was undercooked—far too hard, leaving my jaw tired from chewing—and the sauce was overly sweet. The Spicy Erbe was okay, but again the pasta was chewy, which ruined the dish overall. In short, it was one of the worst Italian meals I’ve had, and though the view was nice, the food and service did not live up to the recommendations.

My husband and I were visiting Duluth for some downtime together after me having multiple surgeries over the course of 5 weeks. We did not make reservations but they were more than willing to accommodate us for lunch. We got to sit out on their little closed in patio and look out over the lake. The food was freshly made, hot and delicious. Our waiter was top notch and was very attentive while we were there. It's in a good location and we will definitely visit again when we come back.

Va Bene has a beautiful lakeside setting and a menu with both hits and misses. The burrata with tomatoes, pesto, and focaccia was excellent, the pesto especially stood out. The Noce e Pera pasta with candied pear, walnuts, and gorgonzola sauce was also delicious and well-balanced. The meatballs, however, were disappointing…small, dry, and lacking flavor. The Preferito della Casa pasta was also underwhelming, with chewy chicken, overcooked noodles, and a balsamic sauce that overpowered the dish. Service was a little slow but staff were pleasant, but overall the food felt inconsistent.

Nestled in the heart of Canal Park, Bellisio's Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar is a delightful haven for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. Since its inception in 1999, this charming eatery has been celebrated for its extensive wine selection—boasting over 500 varieties, with many available by the glass. The ambiance captures the essence of rustic Italian dining, featuring both an inviting indoor space and a picturesque outdoor patio perfect for al fresco meals.
We wanted a little classy on our vacation and decided to try Belliso's. I can say none of us were disappointed. The food was perfectly done and the flavor was spot on. We had the Chicken Marsala and the Shrimp and Lobster Linguine. Two of us splint the Linguine and they brought it out on two separate plates. We chose to sit outside on the little patio at night. The obiounce was perfect and you felt like a little like Italy. Our server was Josh and he was very attentive and friendly. He did an awesome job and we wanted to make sure he gets the recognition he earned! If you are hanging out in Canal Park looking for a good Italian spot this is your spot

Some friends and I were visiting from out of town and called this restaurant to see if they had openings around 8 PM. They were really kind and had openings for a party of seven last minute.✨ There was nothing wrong with the service that we received. Our waiter was very kind and personable. She helped educate us on the wide selection and helped us select a wine. I am disappointed with the food. Their prices were very high, despite not having quality food. The shrimp was very gummy. There was barely any lobster in our pasta dish. The mashed potatoes was very small. The steak was cooked perfect, but the seasoning was very bland. I was very disappointed due to spending $140 not including tip. The dishes were surprisingly small for the amount of money I paid. I had to stop at another restaurant to pick up food because I was still hungry. Overall, they have a great wine selection, but for the food they should improve on the quality of their dishes. I will not be coming back to this restaurant.

We stumbled on this place during a roadtrip and wow! The best service we have had in our travels by far. Then the food was just amazing! The bolognese was fantastic as well as the seafood angel hair pasta dish. If you're in the mood for great Italian and amazing service, we highly recommend.

Worth a splurge! The interior was very classy, and my husband and I worried we were underdressed, but the service was so friendly that our fears quickly passed. Every host and server greeted us with a smile, and our waiter, Josh, took great care of us. We started with the Artisan Cheese Platter (excellent), and I enjoyed the super flavorful Pappardelle Seafood Puttanesca and my husband had the Walleye Milanese. There were an overwhelming amount of wines to choose from, so if you’re a wine snob, this place is a must-visit (my husband and I just Googled what wines pair well with our entrees). For dessert, we enjoyed a great creme brulee that wasn’t too sweet. I took home plenty of leftovers.

Stopped in with my wife before a concert. We weren't really looking for anything special, but we certainly found something special at Bellisios! The atmosphere was very nice, and the food was nothing short of AMAZING!! I had the 12 oz. Fillet mignon, and I can honestly say it was the best steak I've had anywhere in the state. My wife was also very impressed with her seafood linguini. Is it a bit on the expensive side? Yes, but you most definitely get what you pay for. I seriously cannot recommend Bellisios highly enough. Nestled in the port town of Duluth, Minnesota, At Sara's Table Chester Creek Cafe offers a farm-to-table menu with international influences in a charming setting. The cafe serves eclectic new American cuisine with options ranging from vegan granola for breakfast to Baileys Irish Cream frosted cupcakes for dessert.
The French toast was so good! The atmosphere was so cute on the cafe side! Light and airy and very cutesy. We were sat on the bar side and it was also cute just kind of a darker aesthetic! Our server was very nice and you could tell she loved her job! She was very insightful about menu items and helped some of my friends decide what to order!

Amazing atmosphere, great food, great service, reasonable prices! What more can you ask! We went there for breakfast on a Saturday morning and there was like a 5 min wait for the patio (we had a dog with us). The service was awesome! And the food was just as good! I got the pancake and my wife got the eggs florantine( I think) and it was just what we were looking for!

Visiting Duluth, eat like a local here. It’s locally owned, an eclectic atmosphere with outstanding service and food. The homemade cherry Danish was flaky and buttery. Two of us shared the Cowboy Hash. It was flavorful with tender chunks of brisket with a delightful Harissa sauce. So good! You will love it here.
Suzanne D — Google review
Cowboy hash was delicious. The brisket in it was awesome, I only wish the eggs were less hard. The bread and jam really were a surprising treat too. We did have to wait about 20 minutes but you can order a coffee while you wait or sit at the bar or outside. I love the ambience - the bookshelves and big cozy booths especially. The Bloody Mary came with a good bent paddle chaser although there was no cheese/meat on the skewer (you could pay a whopping three extra dollars for a single slice of bacon added). The prices were the real downside here. At least on the breakfast front it seemed like a comparable restaurant would charge a few bucks less for a similar dish.

Probably my favorite breakfast in Duluth. Very fun options with all locally sourced ingredients. It's always pretty busy, but they keep things moving really well. The biscuit and berries is incredible. If you like a biscuit please get it. The Benedict with the wild rice sausage patties is one of the best breakfasts you can have. Service is always really good and quick. Come here if you have the chance!

Cozy space with a view from the patio down to the lake. Came for a late weekday lunch with hopes of enjoying breakfast and coffee. Enjoyed the Cowboy Hash with a Honey Bee Latte. Finished off with a brown butter chocolate chip cookie. Felt like elevated comfort food - lovely, relaxed meal on a quiet patio. Kelly was attentive and engaged as a server. Inside, I loved the wrap around bookshelves offering used books, what a fun idea for the space. Would definitely return for breakfast or lunch!

Steak house
Hammond Steak House is a classic chophouse known for its traditional American cuisine, particularly its delicious steaks and baked potatoes. The restaurant has become a local legend, featuring an old-fashioned ambiance with a liquor store and bar on the first floor. Renowned for winning the Best Steak category, it offers an authentic dining experience reminiscent of old supper clubs in the area.
The service here has been top notch for 40 years. They’ve made some changes since Covid, like paper napkins instead of cloth, and a roll served to you instead of the basket of them you used to get, but the quality has remained the same. They’ve kept their prices reasonable. The other night I actually had dessert after my prime rib, since it was my birthday, and the Banana Cream Cheesecake with a side of hot fudge was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had, bar none.
Gone P — Google review
Terrible experience recently. The prime rib was over done and served to us cold.We ordered the prime medium and it came very well done! The scallops were overcooked and dried out. The waitress said she was busy when we told her and actually said "It is not my problem "..Yes it is!! She forgot our rolls..no bread basket any longer. We asked for the roll. The waitress brought us over a bowl of heated broth to warm up the prime rib and it tasted scorched! We will not return. We have had too many bad experiences there. Also, why is the old dirty carpet taped together? A tripping hazard. The restaurant really needs a deep clean and that red/ black filthy carpet has to be replaced. The women's bathroom also has carpet!
Diane K — Google review
We come every couple of months for prime rib and shrimp. The queen cut was rare and tender. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were generous pours and unexpectedly fresh. This is a quaint old steakhouse and the wait staff is effecient, professional and hospitable. It's not as expensive as some chain steakhouse. It's an old-fashioned meal served with a dinner roll a side salad and a baked potato.
Elizabeth S — Google review
My husband and I got into town late, hungry, and wanting a local place with seafood. We've never been to the Duluth/Superior area before, and we were not disappointed. We did not have reservations, so we threw up a "hail Mary", and lucked out. The lot was full, so I'd say make one to be safe. Our dinner can only be summed up as something our grandparents once had the privilege of experiencing. The nostalgic atmosphere, the friendly and prompt staff...but let me get right to the food. We started with the walleye fingers: battered and fried wonderfully. My husband had the Prime Rib dinner, and it was cooked to perfection. I had the broiled Trout, and let me say, I've never had a trout that good. It was not only cooked and seasoned perfectly, but it was a massive portion. Our entree's came with salads and baked potatoes, while we got multiple cocktails and a bread budding, which was also one of the best we've ever had. I still can't get over how much we ate and drank, and barely paid $100. Don't let this place sneak by you, because it's worth every minute.

Such a wonderful meal with people that have worked their whole adult life there. Great food!
Kathi B — Google review
We chose this place bacause we were staying nearby. I did not have high expectations because from the outside it is underwhelming. But this place proves you can't judge a book by its cover. We were seated immediately and our server was fantastic. We started with walleye fingers which were thick and coated to perfection. Another appetizer of onion rings were hand breaded and crispy. The salad was decent as was the lobster bisque. For entrees I had sirloin steak and lobster. The steak was under seasoned but my son said this is wisconsin people dont like a lot of seasoning and you season to taste after. It was cooked to a perfect med rare. The lobster was some of the best i have eaten. Similarly for the steak and scallops. Decent steak but phenomenal scallops. 2 in our party had filet mignon. The filets were seasoned and cooked to perfection.lobsyer mac and cheese was decent and broccoli side was great. 2 had hash browns which were fantastic. Served as a huge square and expertly crisped on the top and bottom. For dessert we shared bread pudding and banana cream cheesecake with hot fudge. Both were raved about. I definitely recommend this place.

Amazing service, food, and very pleasant atmosphere. The steak was exactly as ordered and came with a beautiful baked potato and delicious fresh Caesar salad. To finish it off I enjoyed a proper tiramasu. While a touch dated, it speaks volumes about the legacy of legendary service this fine steak house has provided. 11/10

It's still a good meal for a fair price. Miss the days of bread baskets and the dressing caddy. It seems like they might be afraid to season the meat these days too. Excellent dessert choices.

A retro modern local dinner with amazing food and treats! Especially loved the cinnamon roll pancakes and fun mega malts! If you love their ice cream you’ll love their food too!

It was 3:30pm on avSunday and we were starving when we found ourselves in the parking lot of Bridgeman's. It was perfect for our first visit as there was no wait and we were quickly ushered to a table. It was a tight fit for my wheelchair, but everyone was very accommodating. Service was exceptional. Most of the servers were young, college age and really went above and beyond for the diners. I ordered the Reuban with a side salad. The side salad was excellent. The Reuben was good, but not anything special. My husband ordered the Greek Omlet which was outstanding and a huge plate of food. We also enjoyed a side order of onion rings which were thick and delicious and a large size, perfect for sharing. The entrance to the restaurant is tight for wheelchairs to maneuver, you definitely need assistance with the doors to get in and out. Love the little merchandise corner up front featuring local goodies. We can't wait to go again and try something new.

What a (re)find! We had a Bridgeman's in Brooklyn Center for years and were frequent customers. When they closed, there were none in the area. Fast forward 40 years and to our extreme delight, we found one listed in Duluth! Since we go Lake Superior every year for my Mom's birthday, we decided to give this restaurant a go. It was AMAZING! The service was spectacular, the ambiance was delightful, the food was DELICIOUS ,and you can't beat a cherry nut ice cream cone! Can't wait for our next visit!

I tried the “Greek” omelette. It was very good. Large enough for 2 people. The service was excellent and fast. I arrived at 7:55 on a Saturday and there was a line outside waiting. But none the less the staff inside were prepared and efficient. Well worth the trip.

Super great spot for breakfast! I got the Mall Bridgeman’s breakfast. Service was fast and friendly and their homemade strawberry jam is delicious. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a good place to eat.

We've been coming here for years and make it a point to stop in every time we're in Duluth. The food is always good, the service is always nice and who doesn't like ice cream after breakfast? I was surprised that they're closed on Sundays now when we came up last time, so we had to find another breakfast spot. But we made sure to stop in on Saturday this time around. The prices have gone up like almost all restaurants, but thankfully the food and service has stayed good. It does get very busy and cramped on weekends, which some people don't like, but I look at that as it's popular for a reason.

A local favorite of ours when we come to Duluth. We always go for the breakfast anytime of day! He got the Ron Swanson and I the Tizzel Sizzel. 10/10 staff is always great and the ambiance is like a vintage diner. The food is always good. Love love love the fresh strawberry jam. We tried the smores malt today and it was so good as well.

Was not expecting it to be as busy as it was for a Monday at noon but we were seated pretty fast the food was amazing! My husband ordered the breakfast Burrito not expecting to be pretty spicy so just a heads up if your order that. It also comes with avocado on top. It smelled amazing though. I ordered the Greek skillet which was 😙🤌 chefs kiss! As busy as it was I was surprised at the fact that our waiter was able to check in on us multiple times. We mostly went to see if they had the lalapalooza icecream boat challenge, but they don't do it anymore sadly. They did have some pretty incredible looking milkshakes for approximately 16$ each. Gonna definitely have to come to give those a try. Added pictures of them to see.

We were at the Lakewalk surgery center and were presented with a wonderful menu and ordered delivery; the bread was made from scratch, had an amazing texture, and delicious. They also included some freebies of cookies and chips; we can't wait until our next visit! Highly recommend!

Love the cookies and bread! Coffee is good and strong! Service is always stellar! Chill atmosphere. The smells of baked goods… Amazing!

So many great things to say about Great Harvest! They have the best customer service in town, it always smells incredible, and the coffee is always hot and fresh and brewed perfectly. I don't eat there often, but when I have, everything has been spot on delish. They won't let you down and that's a fact. I wish more cafes and coffee shops in town had similar standards of excellence, especially on the service front. Thanks for being awesome!

One of my favorite places to get coffee and/or food… Will make baked goods to order - the half scones are a favorite to bring to family gatherings. The employees are kind and helpful, many recognizing regular customers by name. The one downside is the size of location - only so many people fit into the small storefront…

Great place to grab a sandwich! The staff is very friendly. Excellent chicken sandwich. And the BLT with the pumpernickel bread was awesome.

Very disappointing. GH has been an oasis of healthy options. We purchased a loaf of cinnamon chip bread, didn't read the ingredients because why would we, it's GH. "partially hydrogenated cottonseed and soybean oil." "soy lecithin" We can get this crap at grocery stores. Very disappointing. On the plus "unbromated" What's going on with y'all? This loaf went into the trash

Great bakery. I got the personal size strawberry pie. Which was more like strawberry shortcake but still was great. I will be back to try some donuts.

So happy with our experience working with Johnson’s Bakery! I pre-ordered donuts for a Halloween-themed event, and their team went above and beyond crafting these super cute Ghost donuts. They were a hit at the event. This local bakery is a gem. They are a popular place for good reason, so be prepared to potentially wait in line (that’s when you know it’s good). If you’re heading to work and picking up donuts, I’d try to arrive early because everyone else has the same idea as you! Shout out to Barb! Thank you for working so hard to provide our community with such amazing baked goods.

I was in duluth for the week with my girlfriend for her BDay. I chose Johnsons and they did not disappoint. To start off my dumb ass send a request for a custom birthday cake with no directions. Luckily the gentleman working gave me a call and asked me what I wanted and helped me through the order. Great place 10 / 10 would recommend. The cake looked pretty and tasted amazing. I do have to say due to the lack of people eating the cake I consumed quite a bit. If type 2 diabetes is my only penance for the deliciousness I would of bought 2 cakes. Thanks everyone for helping me out.

My family and I have been lifelong fans of Johnson’s so there was no other contender when it came to my parents’ wedding anniversary cake. Not only was the cake absolutely delicious, but the care and artistry around the design was stunning and the kindness of the staff was the cherry on top. They have beer and it's good local beer. Still smells like coffee all the time, not that is a bad thing. Looks like a courthouse from the outside and it is all marble and granite stone inside. The barista's, if that's what ya call them, are cordial, quick, and cleanly. Laid back atmosphere with a community feel to it. They have live music occasionally and are big supporters of the Home Grown music festival. I seen a show there once but don't remember because the serve beer.

Red Mug is my family’s favorite coffee shop. Good Ambience, very eclectic- featuring local artists on the wall. The coffee is excellent. The ham, egg, and cheese sandwich is divine, bursting with flavor with Dijon dill mayonnaise. There’s also great variety of pastries freshly baked every day. Delicious! I highly recommend Red Mug!

They have an incredible House Made granola, you can get it with out without almond milk, (I had it with, like a cereal). Delicious coffee selection, great service, and a really nice inviting atmosphere. I worked here for several hours on my laptop, friendly customers and staff. Speedy wifi too. Great quick stop or work place.

A quintessential indie coffee shop that checks all the boxes: great drinks, good selection of baked goods and lunch items, and that cozy, lived-in feel... perfect spot for a small meeting, casual date, or remote working location. My expectations have been let down a few too many times with their panini sandwiches, but other than that I love this place!

The Red Mug is a great family-friendly place! They have a very wide variety of food and drink, including some National varieties, such as French soda, and Italian soda. The coffee is amazing, and you can order lunch at the same time. I absolutely loved their whole grain toast and oatmeal as well as the grilled sandwiches. There's many options for seating, and you can find a private place to sit very easily. There are also photographs by local Duluth artists that can be found along the walls in the store for sale.

It's been a couple of years since I've been to the Red Mug but I needed a place to meet with a friend, kind of a halfway meeting point so I suggested the Red Mug. We ended up talking for hours and hours. Good food, good prices, great service, friendly barista, plenty of options to eat, laid-back atmosphere. Plenty of space and seating options. We weren't in people's way and felt comfortable occupying a corner so we could visit and catch up on our lives. I had a delicious breakfast burrito.

I gave a Baby Shower at BoomTown in June and my experience was wonderful. The catering choices were great, the food was delicious and our service was amazing. Thanks to Amanda for all her attention to my guests and to my event; and thanks to the whole event team!

Katrina was very friendly and a great server. She was prompt, attentive and kind. We were visiting Duluth for our wedding anniversary and she provided us with a beautiful complimentary dessert! Our food was prompt and delicious, the Parmesan truffle fries were a recommended starter and they were 10/10! Our beverages were never empty and we left with bellies and hearts full. We highly recommend!
Kari S — Google review
We visited on a Wednesday (not busy) night. This was our first time here so we were pretty excited to try something new. I ordered the maple salmon with a salad and truffle fries. It honestly is the driest salmon I have ever had in my life and I didn’t finish eating it. The truffle fries were good:) We didn’t get our food for over 35 min. I think maybe bring someone’s salad out while they wait for the main food would be helpful? My husband had a steak and it was good. The bill was over $100(no alcohol) so I think pretty spendy. Service was really good.
Holly L — Google review
The flavors were fantastic and prices were reasonable. Katrina was also incredibly wonderful as a server! She was a delight throughout our meal—which was an array of their genuinely delicious burgers—and she even gave us a list of recommendations for things to do around town. I would come here again next time we’re in the area!
Zosia W — Google review
Can I give our server, Manda, 10 stars? While everything about Boomtown is solid, she is the spark that puts our visits over the top. Her effervescent personality and attention to detail always impress us and make our dining experience more fun. So what about the food? No complaints there, either. It's usually 5 of us and we order everything from burgers and tacos to salads and roasted Brussels sprouts, depending on the season and how much exercise we've had lately. I can only recall one or two times out of dozens of visits where we have had an issue and they took care of it promptly (If not, I would remember. Things happen everywhere, so service recovery is my gold-standard test for a restaurant.) As for atmosphere, I give 5 stars with this caveat - if you end up seated in main dining and there is a large party, it can get noisy. Just ask for a table in a quieter section and they will move you, no complaints. In an age where so few restaurants live up to their price points, Boomtown Duluth has become a go-to for us when we go out. Solid, reliable food and outstanding service. There's always parking, too.
Mary B — Google review
Manda served us today. Myself, 3 hungry son (2 huge teenagers), my mom & princess Bella crew. We drive up here from Forest Lake for my son's 18th birthday. Of the entire trip, our almost 2hrs with Manda was the best. She is the kindest, sweetest and ONE of the BEST servers I ever met. As a woman who travels the world, that says something!! How she served us; fun, engaging while being very professional is not something most can pull off. Thanks Manda. We will not mind driving up on a Friday for the "Fish Fry". I will call ahead to make sure you are working. We love you. Thanks for gifting our family this wonderful memory especially the bday boy❤️‍🔥🙏🏽🥰 #KeepSmiling... Dr. Fon

This past weekend I attended a Rehearsal dinner at Boomtown. Our server was Cora, she was very friendly and kind always smiling. We never had to ask for a refill or even boxes she was on top of everything and again with a smile. She did a fantastic job and made our event even better. Plus the food was delicious! On our way out we had a conversation with Manda who was so bubbly and kind. It’s was such a treat to have kind people working. We had such a great experience!

A very nice place took my mom there. She lives nearby. Good variety, coffee the egg bakes are wonderful nice service and timely
Jim M — Google review
This is a hidden gem in the Kenwood Shopping Center! Perk Place has a very unassuming appearance from the outside, but once you open the door you're greeted with a waft of baked goods, the aroma of coffee and people enjoying each other's company. There is a fireplace in the front, but sadly it was not operating eventhough it was -4° outside. The interior has muted lighting and colors and a good amount of tables to enjoy the fare. This is definitely a gathering spot for people, they stay awhile. We ordered a Lighthouse Latte which was the BEST coffee I've ever had, and I've had coffee in Europe. The Ham, cheese and bacon panini was over-priced in my opinion for what you get, but it was very good. We also had the grilled cheese and tomato soup, which was a small serving for the price. The soup however was fantastic! Lots of herbs and cream and it tasted homemade. The grilled cheese was just ok. The cookies and cream Frappuccino was excellent. Service was fast and courteous and there was plenty of room between the tables for my wheelchair. This is the kind of place you want to come back to and try everything on the menu. We can't wait to go back and try some of the baked goods.
Jo J — Google review
I like coming here for coffee and they do know how to make espresso drinks very well. I like supporting a local business too. But this is probably the third time that I was very disappointed with the food, so I just won’t eat here anymore. The $10 tuna sandwich was sad and pathetic. Hardly any tuna, no lettuce or tomato, and tasted like cheap supermarket bread. Looked like something from a gas station.
Wendy S — Google review
I was really disappointed with my order. I came in expecting a fresh fruit smoothie, but what I got was more like a milkshake with fruit, and it didn’t taste good at all. It wasn’t what I thought I was paying for, and I hate wasting food, but even after offering it to friends, nobody could drink it. On top of that, the sandwich was dry and had a freezer-burnt taste. Overall, the experience was frustrating, and I won’t be coming back. Honestly, you’d be better off grabbing something from Starbucks or even McDonald’s
Mehyar A — Google review
I had quite a bit of a time before we were waited on. Coffee was very nice, legit. Husband got the egg, bake said it was absolutely fabulous. Sausage was okay... I got the egg sandwich and it was quite tasty. It says it's a croissant, but it doesn't taste or look like a croissant, for 1 thung it is square. It's more like a laminated bun of some sort, but it was really good.
Debbie P — Google review
Nice classic coffee shop in a strip mall. Good espresso drinks, tasty food, easy parking. Strip mall coffee shops never look like much from the outside and this one’s wrapper is no different. But PPV is worth going to. A good place to get coffee and a good place to hang out.
Cap’n E — Google review
Perk Place has good coffee for all their drinks, except the cold press. Not my favorite flavor profile straight black. They use Duluth Coffee Co roasted coffee for their drinks. Atmosphere is decent, but not really memorable, just cafe. I think some of the food is pretty good, but some of it it a tad salty for me. I think that's just a personal taste thing, so try it for yourself. I do really like their curry chicken sandwich. It's on point flavor wise. If you need a quick cup before you get on your way, the wait, even when busy, is short. Great espresso and latte's!

Amity Coffee, located in Duluth's Lakeside neighborhood, has been a beloved spot since its opening in 2014. This cozy and welcoming coffee shop offers a selection of locally roasted coffees from various companies, including Duluth Coffee Roasters and Fika Coffee. The classic small-town coffee shop vibes are enhanced by earthy colors, numerous plants, and a colorful chalkboard menu. In addition to great coffee and pastries, Amity also serves a quality lunch menu.
Good local coffee shop on the east side of Duluth. Strangely, I think this is the only coffee shop down on this end of town. Glad it’s there and that they have tasty coffee. It is a pleasant, smaller shop, with a good “vibe” that goes between being quiet and very full. Parking is on Superior street, which can get a little full with all the other adjacent businesses. Tasty treats, some food, good coffee (from Duluth Coffee) Highly recommended.

This spot became my new favorite when visiting Duluth. The coffee was so good. My wife and I purchased a classic caramel latte and the fall season special, the cinnamon apple latte. The flavors were incredibly balanced and tasted like it was made in shoppe, which they are. The next day we came in and tried their pumpkin spice latte, I am not going to lie, the best PSL we've ever had. The baristas were super helpful and friendly, it created a great atmosphere. This will be a staple for us from now on.

Located in the Miller Hill Mall, Something Sweet by Maddie Lu offers a variety of delectable treats such as macarons, cupcakes, cookies, cheesecake cups, mousse domes, and cakesicles. Customers can expect creative and delicious desserts at this bakery. One customer shared their experience of bringing home an assortment of macarons and a themed bumblebee cake for Valentine's Day. Despite expecting a red velvet cake, they were pleasantly surprised with a lemon flavored one.
For Valentine’s Day my wife brought home some goodies from Something Sweet for our family to share. She got an assortment of macaroons and a really neat bumblebee cake that was themed and said that, “We Beelong together!” She was told that it was a red velvet cake which my wife knew was my favorite. So much to our surprise it was a lemon flavored cake when we stated to eat it. Ironically, lemon is still one of my favorites. The next day my wife informed me that the bakery was going to make good on the mix up from the other day. I headed back to the store where they would have a red velvet cake like the one that we were supposed to get. I went into the store today and got a perfectly decorated red velvet cake. This one is even bigger then the other cake l. Krista was so nice and helpful. She was very apologetic and genuinely sorry for the mix up. We have been coming here for a long time to get different treats, but after this kind of service I was blow away by the thought and effort that went into righting a wrong. We will definitely continue to support this business.

Maddie Lu made the BEST wedding cake for our wedding! I have tasted A LOT of wedding cakes in my life and this was by far the best cake I have ever had! I had many of the guests asking where the cake came from because they loved it. The cupcakes were also very good! If you have to choose one for your wedding though go with a cake! Our cake was made at the store in Minneapolis (their main location) and brought to Duluth, MN and it was kept in perfect condition. I opted to pay extra to have them place the topper and flowers and I highly recommend doing this as they did so perfectly! I have visits the Minneapolis shop once and Duluth shop many times and love getting sweets from both! If you are looking for a bakery that is the perfect for wedidng, parties, or just want a delicious cupcake then look no further than Something Sweet. I can't recommend them enough for your wedding!! And I thought it was very affordable compared to other local quotes I got. Just BOOK!!!!!

The cupcakes, cookies, and macarons are all delicious and are a full five stars every time. We’ve found our go-to for special occasion cakes and are so happy to have a location at the mall! They had just opened when we went, so the store is still looking a little bare. Hopefully that changes as they get settled, but you can’t go wrong with any of the treats!
Caitlin Z — Google review
Food looks wonderful but the fact that everything (not just the macarons) are made with almond flour and almond extract, and there's no signs anywhere is pretty dangerous for those with tree nut allergies (we had to ask specifically). While it is the individuals responsibility to always ask, this is a suggestion that will keep people safe.

My first time in. Cherry Chip cupcake was unreal. So delicious. Young man who helped me at the counter was so friendly and sweet. Will definitely stop again next time I’m in Duluth

OMG I can not rave enough about the birthday cake you made for my adopted son. I send a photo and to be honest had fears that it would not be like the photo. Well it was so much better than I could have ever imagined. Not only was it perfect looking but it was the most moist cake I have ever had. The cake was a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream dinosaur and a 6” smash cake. This cake made my sons birthday absolutely perfect. Thank you so much.

Love this place! I’ve been disappointed by bakeries before but this one is the real deal. I thought I didn’t really like macarons because the ones I’ve tried other places have just been kinda sad and bland, but I gave these ones a shot because they looked so colorful and had so many flavors. Completely changed my opinion on macarons and I really recommend the chocolate mint ones! The cupcakes are also wonderful, plus it’s got party supplies, which is nice since there’s so few places to get fun party balloons around town.

I'm actually surprised by some of the reviews. We bought 15 macarons today and they were all perfect! So tasty and baked perfectly. We've tried others from different parts of the country and we agree these were the best we've had. Luckily we live here now so we'll definitely be back for more
