Cocktail bar
Halloumi Glasgow is a cozy eatery on Hope Street in Glasgow, serving a delightful selection of Greek small plates, delectable desserts, and refreshing cocktails in a bright and airy setting. As one of the many Mezze restaurants in the area, Halloumi stands out with its fusion of Greek and Cypriot cuisines. Their menu boasts an array of flavorful dishes that cater to vegetarians and individuals with gluten-free dietary preferences.
What can I say 🤷🏻‍♂️ Everything was amazing. From the minute we stepped in through the door, the vibe took us over. Nothing pretentious. A modern Greek restaurant, offering beautiful authentic greek meze plates (I'm Greek and I can tell if something is authentic or not), with super friendly and knowledgeable staff, upbeat music (thank god, not the cliché greek bouzouki music), mixed crowd (from young people to 'golden girls' -there were some lovely ladies sitting at the table next to us), and overall a beautiful dining experience. Well done to everyone and a special thank you to Kristin who was looking after us tonight. Thank you, guys, and we'll see you soon again. P.s. for your customers. Service charge is not included, so don't forget to add a tip at the end 😉

Food is amazing, we were a party of 5, ordered 3 mezzes each, as recommended. Each portion was full of flavour and seasonings, cooked perfectly. Staff are friendly, approachable and leave you to eat. No pestering about, how's the food. Nice atmosphere. Great value for money, averaging £40 a head including drinks. Highly recommended,
Brian E — Google review
Stopped in here in a Friday night. Front of house staff was so nice and friendly managed to give us a table in the window. The food was delicious and staff were happy to advise on menu choices. Great wine too. Would definitely recommend for a relaxed meal.

Fulfilling portions, delicious food, good veggie options, halloumi overload! Was sad that the grilled octopus was unavailable—it would have made my day because I love octopus, paprika, and houmous. Cosy and warm ambience, you can even see the staff preparing your food and drinks.
Gucci N — Google review
The atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice. The food tastes okay, but the portion is too small. Also, it was taking so long for my dish to cook in this tiny dish. I think it would be better for this restaurant to have some written details or pictures about how big the portion of each menu.
Supasan L — Google review
It was my second time at Halloumi and it was simply incredible. The food was amazing, I really like how the Greek dips come with a Pitta bread that you can share with the table. The dessert was definitely the best part! I also loved the service and atmosphere, definitely recommend to come here for dinner.
Veronica B — Google review
Excellent food, beautiful interior and great service. The food was ready fast. The only complaint is that the table surface was sticky, even the napkins were stick to the table because of stickiness. We tried chips with Halloumi, Lamb Moussaka which were both good and Lamb chops, the lamb chops was one of the best chops I’ve ever had.
Maryam A — Google review
My family and I popped in for a lunch today to celebrate my mums birthday and it didn’t disappoint. The staff worked really hard today despite the challenges of the day, and we left a £15 tip to thank them, and to to help show some appreciation for how they handled the day. I’ll definitely be going back, we’re a notoriously a fussy family with exploring new foods, so it was lovely to eat so many new things we enjoyed. Manager was such a lovely man and we wish the staff the best

Greek restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Elia Greek Restaurant offers a relaxed and spacious venue where you can enjoy traditional and authentic Greek dishes. Located in George Square, the restaurant is passionate about sharing high-quality ingredients, meats, and herbs with customers who appreciate good food. The menu features a variety of starters, pasta dishes, and main courses including beef, lamb, chicken, pork skewers, and prawns.
It is a great place to have traditional Greek food. I've been there many times, and every time I was happy with the quality of the food (both taste and dish size), the service and the overall atmosphere (including the music that is Greek!). The quality of the above has been consistent all this time, and so it is an easy 5-star from me.
George P — Google review
Always in search of authentic Greek food and so often disappointed but not this time with Elia. We only stopped for a very light bite and shared a chicken souvlaki, Greek salad and saganaki, of which all were really tasty. Great location especially when the sun is shining as out door dining offers a nice view of George’s Square.
Kirk T — Google review
This restaurant reminds me an excellent Greek food in Greece. I love the food a lot and it was as delicious and high quality as in Greece. During my stay in Glasgow, I came twice for dinner. I wish I can come back again in the future. Thanks for a very friendly service.
Lyno L — Google review
I recently visited Elia Greek restaurant located in the heart of Glasgow city centre, overlooking the beautiful George Square. The location is easy to find and offers a lovely view, adding to the charm of the experience. The atmosphere inside was calming and relaxing, and it wasn’t very crowded when we went for lunch, which made it even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavors. As a nice touch, they brought us some complimentary snacks before our meal, which we really appreciated. The service was great, and the overall experience was fantastic. I’ll definitely be going back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a Greek cuisine in Glasgow!"

Staff amazing. Food absolutely 💯 😋 amazing. I'll be back ASAP. Great gluten free options and we'll explained. No issues with gf.
Gregory C — Google review
Loved eating here, a slightly hidden gem just of George Square, beats going to wetherspoons next door, good portions, tasty hummus, and vegetarian dishes, friendly service and reasonably priced too

Delicious food, good service, central location. Service not included so if you want to leave a tip you need cash or a physical card rather than Apple Pay.

The Leonardo Inn Hotel Glasgow West End is a contemporary accommodation that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with its cozy rooms, some of which feature bunk beds for added comfort. Guests can enjoy a delightful buffet-style brasserie and bar on-site, perfect for unwinding after exploring the vibrant surroundings. The hotel is ideally located in the trendy West End, an area known for its rich urban art scene, including the famous mural trail and unique galleries like Surversion Gallery on Ruthven Lane.
When riding our motor bikes to the hotel for a 3 night stay we had an issue when leaving with our lock. The manager Peter was so helpful trying to assist us with a lock smith, hotel clients with tools or local businesses. Great support, great stay, great service. Breakfast staff were so friendly especially Liam too accommodating us whilst we waited for the AA.
Vicky P — Google review
Super lovely staff. Paper thin walls, could hear the person next door peeing and second hand telly til 2am woken up again at 6am. Shower temperature tepid then scalding hot. Hallways smelled bad. Pretty far out of town. If you can afford a bit more avoid this hotel.
Jihan A — Google review
Key cards kept uncoding themselves and we had to keep getting help to get back in to our room. There were some quick fixes that the room needed to improve the aesthetics. Very disappointed not to have lorne sausage or potato scones on the menu for breakfast. I asked for the interconnecting door to be unlocked but it was not. Location is good but was told on the phone it was free parking but it is a paid car park.
Lisa C — Google review
Did the job but room walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. Quite embarrassing to he stood waiting for the lift with a stranger and you can hear the couple in a room 3 doors along having a good time so clearly its like your stood in the room. Staff were good ok checking and sorted us out quickly. Its in a good location for visiting Glasgow.
Will M — Google review
It depends what you would like from a hotel. In the main entrance you are greeted with vast amounts of air freshener, pumped at max strength 24/7, you have to wonder why. At reception when you check in, you are informed daily room cleaning doesn’t happen unless you request it. Once entering the room, you are greeted with carpet that literally needs to be burned. Disgusting really. If that’s not enough to make you want to stay, the missing ripped wall paper is a great feature. Broken lamp shades with stains and the ceiling looks as though it’s absorbed many leeks. The shower is freezing, which is great for those who need to be woken up with a shock to the system. The towels looked like they had seen better days. The only saving grace in the bedroom is the mattress, which provided a good nights sleep ‘King Coils’ best apparently. The breakfast is pretty drab, and the bucket catching water on one table was an excellent feature. Clearly looking at the stained ceiling this is a more of a permanent fixture. The staff are helpful and friendly. But I’d say this hotel is more of a low rent hostel. In need of vast amounts of TLC, including an exterior face lift. If cleanliness is your thing, 10/10 would not recommend. Value for money 1/10. Breakfast 0/10. If I return to Glasgow, I will avoid this hotel like the plague.
Sara P — Google review
Nice, well priced and convenient hotel for accessing trains and places in West Glasgow. Lovely Grill with really tasty food, and serving a very nice breakfast. The hotel could benefit from a refurb but the staff are so kind and friendly and the price was very good!
Debbie R — Google review
Absolutely unacceptable experience at this hotel. Do NOT stay here. The water from the shower would periodically become scalding hot (at least around 60°), which meant that we were not able to safely use the shower during our stay at all. I imagine it‘s only a matter of time until a more vulnerable guest seriously injures themselves when reflexively trying to jump away from the scalding water, particularly since the hotel management seem disinterested in resolving this issue. The first time I raised the issue with the staff, I was promised a fix within 24 hours and provided with a breakfast voucher. When the issue persisted for the remainder of our stay (3+ days) and I raised it again, I was asked to provide my email address and promised that the hotel management would be in touch with me about this issue. They have not followed through on this, and the shower remained dangerous to use until the end of our stay. Everything else about the stay was middling at best - we were initially provided a room with the wrong type of bed. The radiators made loud noises 24/7 even when turned off. The elevator frequently smelled like marijuana. Both reception and the bar were often unstaffed during normal working hours. One day, the keycards we had been given simply stopped working, so I had to find a member of staff to replace it at 4am to be able to access the room. I don‘t remember anything particularly positive from our stay at this hotel. I expect never to return, and I would advise anyone against staying here.
Timothy J — Google review
We travelled up from Shrewsbury for a few nights and we are so glad we picked this hotel! The staff were beyond exceptional, kind and welcoming. The food was amazing, so much choice and so tasty. Couldn't have asked for more!!

Nestled in the heart of Byres Road, Gyros has recently opened its doors, transforming the former Martha's Deli into a haven for Greek street food enthusiasts. This delightful eatery offers a modern twist on traditional flavors, with an emphasis on freshly prepared dishes made right before your eyes. The menu features an authentic selection of gyros that promise to tantalize your taste buds.
‏Honestly, this place is amazing! The chicken is so juicy and flavorful it really reminds me of shawarma but with a delicious Greek twist. Perfect to eat in the car too. But what really made it special was the team — super friendly, always smiling family.Definitely coming back!
Abdullah A — Google review
Gyros used to be my favourite food place for years, but came back after summer, tried it twice, and it was abysmal. Unfortunately, chips were both uncooked and unseasoned, and chicken was a strange colour and texture. Before summer, the quality was five stars, perfect taste and look, but sadly not anymore.
Rhudi S — Google review
Tried one of their chicken gyros. Tasted good and I liked that it was presented in a box, but there wasn't as much chicken or chips as you get in other gyros places in the area. However, my biggest gripe was them trying to charge me £2.75 for a takeaway can of coke. No idea how they justify that.
D R — Google review
Was my first time trying the Gyros. It was good. I feel like there might be other places where I can find better gyros here in Glasgow. The hummus was not up to mark though.
Prashant T — Google review
Had a Lamb souvlaki. I checked this place out just out of curiosity and trust me it's an amazing Greek spot. Food served fresh, and tastes amazing, if you're coming by, pop in cuz it's worth your time. Fills up your stomach, portions are great and I could tell lamb was fresh and pitta was great.
Stefan73 S — Google review
I stumbled upon this gyros shop last weekend, and wow, what a find! I tried the Mixed Gyros, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and paired with the most flavorful Tzatziki. The warm, fluffy pita and the crisp fries made it even better. What stood out even more was the staff. They were so friendly and helpful, especially Geetika, who suggested the Spicy Feta Dip, and it was an absolute game-changer. By the end, they treated me to a piece of Chocolate Baklava as a thank-you, which was the perfect sweet ending. Great food, amazing service—special thanks to Geetika! I’ll definitely be back!
ARJIT ( — Google review
I was looking forward to trying a new Greek style cafe / restaurant. The gyro was okay but my wife ordered halloumi fries and they were very disappointing. The menu said they were homemade but they were clearly frozen chips and they were not even cooked properly. The staff didn't greet us with any enthusiasm and when we were seated the tables were not clean.
David K — Google review
The chicken gyros was excellent and the halloumi chips, delicious! The place is small but there are a few stools for sitting in. Ideal for takeaway if you live nearby, they provide the gyros in very apt boxes to keep the wrap in perfect shape! Friendly staff. Great addition to Byres Road from the team behind Halloumi.

Ox and Finch is a trendy and contemporary restaurant with a casual vibe, offering creative tapas-style dishes. The spacious venue features sleek leather booths and large windows, creating a hip atmosphere. The menu offers a range of small, tapas-style dishes including seafood like skate wing and poached hake, as well as raw cured and cold dishes such as dry aged carpaccio and rabbit rillettes.
A birthday celebration that was perfect and lived up to our expectations. The food was brilliant as the small plate concept is just what we were so pleased about. Service was also top notch even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon.
Jude P — Google review
Baked beetroot was quite outstanding. Overall good quality food for what we paid for We ordered two desserts both got bread elements in it so we felt a bit too heavy. Nevertheless it's a good attempt to try to be creative.
Yui C — Google review
Please ensure that your server, Nadia, is rewarded in some way or another for her exceptional service & attention to detail. She is truly a credit to your team and made my birthday lunch unbelievably special! She was undoubtedly a highlight of our visit and I left your establishment glowing all thanks to her kindness (and, of course, the amazing food at Ox & Finch!) Legitimately, our only feedback (that we provided at the end of the meal) was that we felt mash may have been a better fit for a side dish as opposed to the chips but, truly, that's the only thing we would have changed! Your manager was also brilliant (we had a brief interaction but he couldn't have been nicer). We are so glad we chose Ox & Finch for our afternoon and we will most certainly be back!
Stephanie R — Google review
Food was good, not amazing comparing it to all the rest of restaurants we’ve been to in Scotland. But it was tasty. It is good they have somehow of a Spanish tapas concept, so you can try more of their dishes or you can share. The service was pretty fast, nice staff, eager to help. The restaurant was full, so be sure to make a reservation as we did, so you can have a smooth experience. What I disliked most was the very annoying noise, of people beind too loud and plates
Anca — Google review
We were in the hop-on-hop-off bus tour of Glasgow when we decided to hop off for lunch. Ox and Finch was right in front of the stop, so we decided this would be an easy place for lunch. There was a wait for inside dining, so we opted to eat outside. Our server was excellent and the food outstanding. It is a small plate venue so we order 4 dishes to share - bread and butter, potato gnocchi, lamb confit, and a burrata and Isle of Wight tomato salad. The food and presentation was indescribable. Everything tasted as delicious as it looked. The potato gnocchi was the best thing I had on this trip and trust me, we had some pretty amazing food.
Sharon C — Google review
We were in on Saturday night, food was beautiful, decor is lovely but the stand out thing for us was your staff, especially Angus, the one who looks like the actor from dexter, we had a laugh with him about this, his knowledge of the menu and his help and advice on our food order was much appreciated, he really is a credit to your wonderful restaurant. We cant wait to return for some great food and fantastic service.
Matthew W — Google review
if i could give it more than 5 stars i would! came here to celebrate my partner’s birthday and to say that they made this a really memorable one is a sheer understatement. upon greeting us, they wished him happy birthday, showed us to our table (with a very very lovely handwritten birthday note!!!). dishes were all spectacular. whipped cod roe and crudo where phenomenal. they even made their broccoli and hummus so phenomenal! we had to get additional flat bread to clean the hummus completely. to top it off, the lovely waiter (didn’t get his name) ended our extraordinary night with a happy birthday ice cream on the house. thank you ox and finch! we’ll definitely be back. (now i know why my partner has been here 3 times)

Fabulous experience sampling The Mad Hatter's Tea Party menu. When each course is served it's expertly explained by serving staff and accompanied by a little theatre. Absolutely delicious food served in beautifully decorated surroundings. I have read some reviews indicating that the tables are extremely close together. This is true but we didn't find it overly intrusive. Overall a fantastic experience.
Chelle — Google review
Visited here as a treat as it is a bit pricier than some of the local restaurants, but I've wanted to go for a while, and honestly it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is small and usually fully booked, so getting a walk in is unlikely. The staff are attentive and polite without being overbearing. The Thai fusion menu was the theme when we went, the food portions are small, but it is a tasting menu, you are there for the experience, not to get stuffed full. I thought the food was delicious and creative with lots of different elements making up each dish. Being a bit of a fussy/limited eater I wanted to try foods I wouldn't normally eat, and the pumpkin spring roll gave me a whole new appreciation I didn't know was possible for pumpkin. I normally don't eat fish either, but the pan seared bass has completely changed my mind. If you want something a bit different to treat yourself, with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, then definitely try this place.

Great experience! I came here with my family and had a great time. The service was fantastic, the vibe was very happy and excited and the food was good. The dishes were very creative, interesting to look at tasty. We all had the matching wines which paired very well. There was a matching cocktail for your first drink which was a nice change as well. Tasting menu, matching wines, 4x extra cocktail and 2x extra snack course was around £360 for 4 of us. Had a great time with my family but don't have any intentions coming back for a while, not sure why, just left a little underwhelmed by the flavours.
Noremac R — Google review
We had the Tokyo menu - sadly this time they didnt publish a vegan menu and I was a little worried we would be an afterthought (only from past experiences elsewhere) but this was totally not the case and we had a lovely time, the food was beautifully presented, every course delicious and really reasonably priced for what we got. The staff were very kind, accommodating and attentive and the atmosphere was very chilled. I hope we get a local branch soon so we can try every menu! If any other big eaters are wondering like us if we would be full afterwards - you will be! Spacing out smaller courses really helped us savour rather than snort the food 🤣
Hollie C — Google review
First and last time here unfortunately. We were looking forward to it, especially the Alice in Wonderland theme since it was my friends birthday. I had the vegetarian menu and my friend had the normal menu - noticed that she seemed to have more on her plate (and the plates are tiny already), in particular when she had the rabbit in course 2, I had a single slim carrot. Everything was well presented but the flavours were just not there and there was 0 value for money. Whoever came up with the olive soil needs to get their tastebuds checked - it tasted like the burnt cigarette ends and ruined the whole dish. The staff were friendly but we felt we were just annoying them when we had to tell them we didnt enjoy any of the food every time they came to take our plates away. Honestly, the bottom line is that we paid £60 each to be starving at the end of it. So gutted!

One of Glasgow’s finest in customer service, atmosphere and unpretentiously amazing food. Greeted with a warm welcome and a little joke, we were already on the road for a lovely experience. When our order was being taken and a hint of this being our daughter’s graduation celebration, we were presented with a glass of Prosecco as a complimentary welcome. From then on, the brilliance just took off. The servers are a jolly bunch of well educated and cheerful young persons. The food just kept getting better. The only problem was that we had to call it a night - we had a truly remarkable evening. Well done you all !!!

Lovely setting for an interesting idea. Menus themed and changing every six weeks. In Feb it was ‘ the best of 2018’ which was a great mix. All the food was delicious and choices for vegetarians good. Wine pairing too allowed one person in the party a great opportunity for tasting different wines. Very busy understandably.

I love the idea of Six by Nico. But if you aren’t keen on one or two courses it feels expensive for the rest of the meal. Dishes were well cooked, albeit not very hot, but well presented and full of interesting flavors. I don’t like service change included on the bill, (although it’s optional) nor the charity donation.

MacTassos is a genuine Greek eatery located in Glasgow. It is a family-owned establishment that was established in February 2017. They specialize in Greek gyros and offer a variety of other delectable Greek dishes on their menu. MacTassos aims to bring the essence of Greece to its customers with every visit, providing an authentic taste of Greek cuisine.
📍Place: a food truck located right next to Kelvingrove Museum, so you can have a great view when eating your gyros. 🍛 Food: You can have your gyros pita with pork chicken or mixed (all of them cost £6.9), I had the mixed. It's very simple with original Greek pita bread, tzatziki, tomato, onion and fries. Overall it tasted good, a little bit dry to my taste and the meat could have been more flavourful, but generally speaking I enjoyed it. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: the girls are super sweet and make the order very quickly.

Perfect street food vendor! After taking a walk in the park, this is a perfect stop for a quick bite to eat. Menu is reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of the food. Delicious! every bite was wonderful, beautifully seasoned meats and fresh fillings. Staff were very friendly and welcoming to every customer. Just listening to the staff banter was enough to keep a smile on our faces. Although seating was limited, it was still a great place to sit and enjoy the delightful food and atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys greek style food. Very tasty and fresh. Thank you to the staff, tip well deserved 👏 👍

Mactassos is a hidden gem in Glasgow. The friendly owner and employees create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The energetic vibe is infectious and sets the stage for a delightful dining experience. They serve delicious Greek gyros, made with chicken, pork, or both. The gyros are wrapped in a warm bun and filled with fresh fries and other greens that complement the flavours perfectly. The seasoning on the gyros is a secret ingredient that elevates the dish to new heights. Overall, I highly recommend Mactassos. The prices are reasonable, and the food is simply outstanding. It’s a must-try when you’re visiting the Kelvingrove Art and Gallery Museum.

Love the MacTassos food truck. Close to work so it's a nice walk to get there. The food is amazing and authentic. And the PR MacTassos himself always has a wee chat for his customers and a lollipop for the kids. Definitely recommend especially during/after a walk around Kelvingrove 🙂🙂

Pure Greek 🇬🇷 taste and atmosphere. Great service with a smile and respect. Is the perfect stop in the area and a must for anyone who wants a good lunch break.

Sometimes just keeping it simple is the key to success. MacTassos has been serving up top tier gyros for years and it never gets old. Often imitated but rarely bettered. Served with an authentic smile the quality and portion size is unbelievable value and genuinely delicious. One of my favourite eats in the city. Megálos!!

We absolutely loved our pitas from this wonderful place today! Both of us ordered the pork pita, and the balance of flavors was wonderful! These things are a full meal with layered levels of flavor. The tzatziki sauce was particularly on point… But really everything was! They put a bit of extra seasoning on top just before either handing it to you, or putting it in a bag, the choice is yours. By the way, I advise getting it bagged. That way, you can rip open the top a little at a time and eat it with a fork :-) The pita becomes an edible plate. Prices were very reasonable with each Peter wrap coming in at £6.50 with water at £1.40. The food was super fresh and very well-made. But beyond that, the service was friendly and we enjoyed a great chat with the staff. Other customers even joined in, and we had Good chuckles all around. When you’re doing the museum circuit on the west end of town, this should definitely be top of your list for lunch. There are plenty of benches around the park nearby and there a few chairs provided at the MacTassos.
Mark B — Google review
We saw this while planning for the trip, and knowing it was closed on Mondays, we made a plan to come by before we left town specifically for the gyros. And they sure didn’t disappoint! Delicious, succulent meat, generous portions, warm service - they even snuck in an extra baklava for us so we didn’t have to fight for it 🤭 5 stars, would definitely come back!

With its vibrant neon blue storefront, Yiamas offers a range of traditional Greek dishes and mezze-style service. From gyro sandwiches and kebabs to deep-fried squid and Greek sausage, there are plenty of options to choose from. Vegetarians can enjoy feta and courgette cakes or fried kefalograviera cheese.
This place rocks. We did the “My Dine” deal. 2 gyros and 2 drinks for £20. It was awesome. But, having seen the food coming out we ordered more. Everything was beautiful. The people were so nice, every dish was explained and appreciated. Great place, great deal

We were greeted by a very nice guy when we came in. He took our order fast and we opted for some pork souvlaki and pork gyros with mythos to drink. We got our drinks and food fast and it tasted good. It was something small missing and maybe a little bit to much cayenne pepper on the gyros.
Benim — Google review
Had a wonderful and satisfying dinner here! The lamb souvlaki plate was delicious, especially with the add-on spicy feta and perfectly grilled halloumi. The moussaka was also very nice. Love the service and atmosphere. Felt super lucky to coincidently run into this place and got a table.

Most definitely the best Greek restaurant in Glasgow! The food was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the semi sweet wine was gorgeous too. They didn't have exactly what we ordered so gave us extras of other things which were more than enough. Service friendly and efficient and the prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely come back.

AMAZING vegan options!! Their homemade seitan is incredible ❤️ not sure how anyone could physically eat that much in one sitting though! HUGE wraps and so well priced. Please please do a vegan tzatziki though guys! 🙏

Loved our visit for lunch today! Food was so tasty - daughter and I loved the hummus so much - our lovely waitress confirmed it was freshly made on site. Just delicious. Halloumi Souvlaki and fresh Greek salad. Daughter had the special fried sliced halloumi pita wrap with seasoned fries. We will be back.

Am I on Rhodes or what?! The gyros (famously pronounced yiros) were phenomenal! the yoghurt was expertly squeezed and distributed on the pillow soft bread, and the chicken was as tender as true loves first kiss. And not to add the fantastic attitude of the young chap who served us. Can I move in?? Just kidding - not enough natural light for me. truly a meal to remember, thank you mr yiama

Really enjoyed my visit here! They had some nice vegan options, and the drink selection was great too. I tried their vegan wrap and a refreshing pomegranate lemonade mocktail - both were delicious. I wouldn’t mind coming back again! One small suggestion: it would be great to see more vegan options on the menu, especially for desserts - there weren’t any vegan choices available in that section. Otherwise, a fantastic spot!

I've been here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Admittedly not my favourite cuisine but I was on a work lunch and the food was great. I opted for a side of rice which was lovely, my colleagues got chips and said they were okay. Service was great, greeted on arrival, prompt delivery of the menus, drinks came quickly and then the food was cooked freshly but didn't take too long to come. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Great place with really tasty food and nice ambience. The portion are big; but service could be better- lots of different waiters came to us asking for the same things all over, it was annoying. They could just assign one waiter for the table to avoid that.

Excellent authentic Turkish food. I had the chicken shish which was a great portion size and I felt it was great value until a £1.80 service charge was added at the time of payment. I was told the SC is optional but felt it was good service so I didnt request to remove it. Not sure if it was made clear on the menu.

Amazing meal last night. We ordered the the sharing mezze for 2 with beef Donner fries, chicken shawarma hummus and the greek salad. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The selection of 4 dips and bread were fantastic too. The main dish was 4 grilled skewers, 1 lamb,1 prawn and 2 different types of chicken on a bed of grilled veg. These were all outstanding too. Service was great and the 2 waiters were really friendly. Great value too. All the food , 2 pints of beer, extra bread and coffee was £70. Really hope the guys open a restaurant in Edinburgh too. 🤣

Shawarma restaurant
Shawarma King is a popular spot located under a bridge in Glasgow, known for serving up Middle Eastern favorites like falafel, shawarma, and kebabs. Despite initial mixed reviews about the quality and service, it has gained recognition as the winner of Scotland's Best Kebab House in 2022 and 2023. The eatery is iconic in Glasgow with constant queues out the door regardless of the time.
Shawarma King – Scotland’s Undisputed Shawarma Champion? Crowned Scotland’s Best Shawarma four years in a row since 2022 – that alone was enough to pique our curiosity. What really drew us in, though, was the long queue in front of the small shopfront. We tried both the large lamb and chicken shawarma. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, but what truly stood out was the pickled vegetable garnish – bold, crunchy, and full of flavor. For our taste, it was slightly too salty, but others might enjoy the punch. The only downside: there’s hardly any seating nearby, which made it tricky to enjoy the meal comfortably on the spot. Be prepared to eat on the go or find a bench somewhere close. All in all, Shawarma King lives up to its name. If you're willing to wait in line, you'll be rewarded with a flavorful, satisfying meal that just might justify the hype.
Bo K — Google review
Was super excited to try this place after going to Glasgow for the first time in August 2025 and finding out this is the crowned the best Shawarma in Glasgow. Truthfully, I don't get the hype. The food was very salty and nothing wow. Was expecting it to be way better for the title it has. Went on a weekday evening - there were a quite few customers about so did have a bit of a wait and with it being a small shop - be prepared for the queue to be outside. The older guy at the till was super helpful and explained all in Arabic. But I had better Shawarma at Lazord Syrian Restaurant during my stay in Glasgow.
Michal H — Google review
Stopped in for a chicken and a lamb shawarma wrap. £7 for a large. We had to wait a while as there was a massive queue of people before us. The food was hot, fresh and tasty . The bread was amazing. Would go back, there wasn't enough chicken in it for me but it was tasty none the less.
Elton H — Google review
I have nothing to compare this to other than I know good food when I taste it. I’m not a shawarma aficionado and I don’t have extensive experience eating it. What I do know is this shawarma has set the bar really high for me. I was expecting long lines but fortunately we were able to walk right in and order. I ordered the mix of meats. The meat is so flavorful and juicy and the bread is soft and so fresh. The bit of pickled veg is just the perfect contrast to the meat mix and then the sauce just ties the perfect bite all together. I knew it was legit when a black Lexus pulled up to the curb and four men with sunglasses, who look like they know shawarma, get out to order their food. No talking. Just waiting. They get the bag and drive off.
Heather W — Google review
Favourite Shawarma in Glasgow! The lamb.. oh the lamb! So tasty and juicy! And they do a strawberry soft drink called Mirinda. So happy to always go to shawarma kings.. everything always very fresh!
Ruben S — Google review
Absolutely the best shawarma in Glasgow! The meat is real lamb — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Everything tastes amazing, and the atmosphere is great too. You can feel the quality and care in every bite. Truly authentic and easily the best place in town!

King Shawarma in Glasgow is one of the best halal shawarma places I have tried. The chicken is soft, juicy, and full of flavour. The wraps are fresh, the sauces taste amazing, and the portions are big. The staff are friendly and always serve with a smile. The place is clean and good for a quick meal. If you love shawarma, you should definitely try King Shawarma in Glasgow.
Abdul ( — Google review
Was disappointed by it having seen great reviews and vlogs. Staff didn't ask us how we wanted it made. Hot sauce already applied. Lamb meat was chewy. Wrap wasn't toasted much. Underwhelming experience. They just wanted to get us out the door. Probably a slightly above average shawarma but wasn't worth the walk.

CATCH Fish & Chips in West End is a popular spot that has been voted as Scotland's best, and for good reason. The restaurant offers a modern take on the traditional fish supper and is the third branch of its successful sister outlets. Whether you choose to dine in or take away, CATCH provides posh chippie vibes with its cool decor and wide menu selection including classic fish suppers, tacos, and burgers.
I come to catch every time I visit Glasgow ! A big thank you to Tony , he really took great care of us . I asked for a dessert which was not on the menu any more but they generously offered it!!
Dalia Z — Google review
A decent portion of fish and chips, tasted good! This is more of a gourmet style fish and chips - I prefer the chips you’d get from a chippy. The salt and pepper chips were the only let down, not what we were expecting. The restaurant layout and decor was very nice and our waiter was exceptionally friendly. Overall great experience 😊
Sara B — Google review
Nice place. Friendly staff. I'd give it a 5 if we hadn't ordered the scampi which wasn't my favourite. The regular battered haddock & tempura King Prawns were phenomenal. We chose 3 different things & shared. Got a great deal on itison. We'll be back to try some other stuff on the menu next time we're in Glasgow.
Clara — Google review
The food and service were impeccable! Well-seasoned batter with a satisfying crunch across their array of deep fried items. Their loaded fritters (pictured) were sensational! The slabs of potato were thick and substantial whilst still crispy on the outside. Each fritter made the perfect vessel to carry their delicious toppings and cheese to give you the perfect bite. They were doing a collab with Little Bao Boy, so there was a range of western and eastern items on the menu. As the vegan fish & chips were unavailable, I ordered 2 baos (£9) aubergine panko and salt chilli tofu as pictured. I was hoping for more aubergine filling but they still tasted good accompanied by flavourful sauces. The seating area upstairs had just enough space to accommodate multiple tables, a bar, and with upbeat music playing softly in the background it felt like the cosiest nook. You can still dine in comfortably, undisturbed by how busy it might get with patrons ordering their takeaways downstairs. The highlight was truly the staff, all of them made us feel so welcomed from the start. The entire establishment seemed to run like a well-oiled machine from dine-in to delivery. Staff went up and down the stairs multiple times to ensure all their patrons whether sit-in and takeaway were well looked after. Thank you!
Wei C — Google review
The waitress was a little bit busy but still super friendly and patient with us. Battered haddock is the best I’ve ever had, also wide range of snacks and the king prawns are good too with their sauces! Just take a look at all the photos.
Probox P — Google review
Nothing wow. Just regular fish and chips that is breaded a lot so you feel the bread more than the fish. I also ordered the mac and cheese and was not impressed as I did mot like that the shredded cheese was a bit more than expected. The service was great and the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is cute
Ahmed A — Google review
We were recommended this place by a good friend so thought we’d give it a try. Ended up having a less than dissatisfying experience. Atmosphere was ok, restaurant was fairly clean, although the toilet was atrocious. After taking our order, we were told they didn’t have two of the drinks and one of the starters we’d ordered. Lemonade was flat and no ice was given with drinks. We waited over 35 mins for our food, watching two other tables, who were seated after us, being served their food. Luckily, the fish was good, because the chips were extremely stodgy and cheap tasting. We weren’t asked at any point by waiting staff if we needed another drink (all of us had finished our first after waiting so long for our food), or if the food was ok etc. We watched as other customers waited to pay their bill for over 15 mins. They then proceeded to give us a bill which was £30 over what we’d spent. Won’t be returning.

Enjoyed our first visit to Catch. Service was efficient and staff were friendly. Small haddock and chips was a big enough portion and the sausage supper was substantial. Chips were really tasty and everything was perfectly cooked. Chocolate donuts were really churros but no less tasty for that. Our only slight disappointment was the sticky toffee pudding which was a bit dry but the tasty sauce helped to salvage it.

Customers can enjoy a mix of different dishes in their boxes at an affordable price without compromising on portion size or quality. The salad is particularly enjoyable, and the sauces are served separately. The speed of service is commendable, ensuring that customers don't have to wait long for their meals.
Sensational food. I think this is incredible tasting at a tremendous value. Just Oder from here. You won’t regret it. The lamb was perfect. The sauces and seasonings flawless. We will be back

I just popped in for a quick lunch and it was incredible. I ordered the mixed gyros for £9.70 and not only was the portion generous, but it also came with fries (which I didn’t expect). The food was fresh, delicious and packaged really well, so it wasn’t messy to eat. Honestly, looking at the size I thought I’d leave some, but I couldn’t put it down…no crumbs left! I chose the Yeros sauce, which had a mustard-garlic flavour. I don’t usually like mustard, but I scoffed the lot. And really, what can you buy for under a tenner these days that leaves you this full and happy? Will 100% return 😌
Beer B — Google review
I used to go to Yeros regularly with my partner. As a Greek it's extremely hard to find decent gyros and this place was the best.Unfortunately they have changed the quality and the last time we got our gyros it was soaked in oil making the pita soggy. Plus almost 10£ for one wrap is a joke. I understand there is the inflation but this increase is not justified. I won't return.

I'd seen the place mentioned on Facebook so popped in for a couple of drinks on a random Thursday afternoon. I will most definitely be back - great drinks selection if you're just in for that (10 beers/lagers etc on tap, circa 20 gins, same for whiskies plus loads of other spirits Looks like they've got a decent selection of wines and fizz as well. The place itself looks great and the staff are lovely. Can't comment on the food, but it looked and smelled great as it passed and I'll definitely be back to try it. You can tell a lot of effort went into this place to open it, and it definitely continues now it's open. Five stars from me.

Toilet was clean had baby changing facilities which was exactly what I needed. And then decided to get a coffee and I clocked the cakes. OMG the cakes and pastries 🤤 I tried the pistachio and dark chocolate pastry pie and it was absolutely delicious 😍 also gave me a chance to sit down outside and feed my son as it was a starting to get busy and my son was a bit fussy and needed his milk. Staff were lovely aswell couldn't have been any nicer to me the coffee was great aswell I definitely found a gem and be back with friends next time I'm in the area to try the food and of course more cakes❤️ thanks again for helping a mama out 👏🏽
