Located in the vibrant West End of Glasgow, The Butchershop Bar & Grill is a stylish steakhouse with a Manhattan-style ambiance. The restaurant prides itself on serving top-quality Scottish beef, expertly prepared and offered at reasonable prices. Their menu features an array of delectable dishes, complemented by an extensive wine selection from around the globe. With its chic decor, including leather booths and warm lighting, The Butchershop provides a cozy and inviting atmosphere for any dining occasion.
January 3rd I recently had the pleasure of dining at Butchers Shop Bar and Grill, and what a fantastic experience it was! From the very start, enjoying a refreshing cocktail aperitif set the tone for a superb evening. The olives and patron peppers were deliciously salt-coated, offering the perfect start to our meal. For starters, I indulged in tiger prawns and loin, which were first-class. Although I personally wished there was more than one prawn, the taste was impeccable and left us excited for the main course. The rib-eye steak that followed was a true highlight—massive, perfectly cooked, and served with delightful sides of onion rings, mac and cheese, and triple-cooked chips. It was a feast that ensured no one left the table hungry. My wife had the fillet and our friends the chateaubriand all cooked as well ad my own Unable to find room for dessert, we opted instead for the exquisite Espresso Martini, which capped off the meal beautifully. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the restaurant staff went above and beyond to accommodate us at another table, allowing us to relish our time with good friends and more cocktails. The evening was certainly on the pricier side, yet it was worth every penny. The service from all four staff members who attended to us was exemplary, contributing significantly to our tremendous dining experience. Hats off to Butchers Shop Bar and Grill for creating such a warm and memorable evening!

For me this has to be hands down the best steakhouse I have ever been to, I booked me and my partner a table on a Monday night for her birthday with a note on the booking letting them know it was her birthday. All staff in the restaurant were absolutely amazing and didn't make a big fuss for her birthday and wished her a happy birthday and even gave us a card which was a small gesture but absolutely appreciative. Our waiter for the night was Steven and I cannot put into words how amazing he was, he walked us through the menu, brought a board with all the cuts of steak and showed us how big they are, what cuts would be best for us etc etc, he was absolutely unreal throughout the night and kept checking up and had really good conversations with us through the night even though Steven let us know that they were short staffed. The food was absolutely sublime and beyond any steak we've ever had and the sides were no slouch either which we absolutely loved. Overall I cannot recommend the butchershop high enough. Thank you for making my partners birthday amazing and letting us take home our leftovers

Went the evening of Saturday, Oct 4th. It was our last night in Scotland and wanted to do something special. Everything from the drinks to the desserts were great. We both had the fillet with mashed potatoes, along with the green beans and cauliflower cheese. We also ordered the table bread which came with butter and olive oil. My friend ordered the gin bramble while I had the Sauvignon Blanc and also a glass of the Cabernet. For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding and the strawberry vanilla cheesecake. Max was our server and he was fantastic! Highly recommend if you are in the Glasgow area!

Excellent service and very good food – I recommend the scotch egg and onion rings. Special mention to Lorena, our waitress, and the blonde guy who spoke a bit of English. Really cool atmosphere!

Had some trouble with online booking but they got me a table ahead of the Friday dinner service before a concert. Food was excellent, bartender made an awesome martini, and service was spectacular.

We celebrated my brother's wedding here with a meal for both families and it was great. Food was super, staff were on point and although, it's not cheap, you pay for what you get so I'd have no issue coming back and sampling other parts of the menu. Fine for couples right up to large groups. Probably ok for kids 10+

Fantastic restaurant and wonderful service, very well looked after all evening by Andrew and Euan. Food was delicious and some great wines/beers too. The Black Pudding Scotch Egg was so delicious and the egg was cooked to perfection, wonderful Monkfish and finished off with Creme Caramel.

Porter & Rye is a stylish restaurant with New York influences, offering a menu featuring dry-aged beef and creative cocktails. Located in Finnieston, it has quickly become a standout in the city's culinary scene. The quality of the steaks is highly praised, with 42-day aged cuts described as tender, succulent, and flavorful. The restaurant is known for its exceptional service and intimate ambiance.
Can I give this place an ♾️/5 stars? 🥹 This restaurant was an absolute highlight in Glasgow. I think a Sunday roast elsewhere is absolutely ruined for me because the one I tried here almost had me in tears it was so good. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants around the world and I’ve hardly ever found one that has such a well thought out menu. Every single aspect of every dish is intentional, something you can tell with every bite. Not only was the Sunday roast fantastic but I also shared half with my boyfriend, so we could try both the roast and their steak and oh my word, it was a revelation. The steak was seasoned to perfection. I normally don’t eat steak as cooked through as this one was but it was just so tender and so flavorful, that it was a knockout. Everything else we ordered from the drinks to the appetizers to dessert was just so delicious, I could hardly accept that it was over at the end of the night. Truly, this was a mind blowing experience, only enhanced by the absolute friendliness and attention to detail of the staff. They worked hard to accommodate us, even when we hadn’t made a reservation. They are the standard for how customer service should be done. Both my boyfriend and I cannot recommend this place enough, we left so so happy 😍
AnaIsabel B — Google review
Outstanding food - genuinely one of the best steaks we have ever had, so tender and cooked very well. We really enjoyed our meal, and we will definitely be back! All staff members we encountered were friendly, attentive and on the ball with everything! I love when you go somewhere that can be seen to be quite high end and fancy, and you get down to earth friendly service staff. I always appreciate it so much. My only thing is that we got sat in the upstairs right at the speaker, it was quite noisy for the vibe, the waitress was understanding, and moved us. I’d also say the second table wasn’t ideal either but wasn’t noisy, we really fancied a seat at the window. I’d also say, I feel this place needs more chilled music, it was really bad music and cover versions that just weren’t good. I’d have liked to have seen different desserts too, maybe a wee cheesecake, crumble or fudge cake. Most weren’t to my taste. But generally we were very impressed. Loved it! Thanks for a lovely evening :)

The quality, flavour & price makes this place a must. We ordered Bavette steak with Port & gorgonzola blue dip, Rump steak with Bone Marrow & Black Truffle Butter, Lamb Tatiki, Garlic & Lemon Mixed Greens, Beef Dripping Chips, Truffle & Parmesan Fries and Miso Foraged Mushrooms & Crispy Shallots. Everything was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Each dish can be altered for gluten-free dairy-free etc. The staff were very nice and attentive. I will definitely be back to try more on the menu.

We stumbled upon this restaurant after enjoying the day in Glasgow and I am so happy we did. It has a twos story dining area with perfect lighting. The service was fantastic and they helped us pick the best options. The butter that went with the steak was perfect for the meal. If you're in Glasgow, come to Porter & Rye, it is worth it. If I am ever visit Scotland again, I want to eat here!
Amy B — Google review
Loved every single thing at Porter and Rye! Initially, we were running late due to traffic and the person on the phone offered to change our booking time to allow us to still go & have enough time for our meal. Me and my friend got the Friday deal and got one of the starters. My friend doesn’t have alcohol & they were happy to change the drink for a non-alcoholic one. The steak tartare starter was unreal!! Then the steak & sides arrived, a fantastic portion for a deal and everything cooked to perfection. Everything we had was so flavorful and the high quality. It was my birthday and the restaurant offered me a birthday sweet & prosecco along with desert that we ordered which you could tell was made fresh. The service was excellent, Rachel and the team took the best care of us & really felt spoiled. The atmosphere was also perfect, felt very intimate & calm. If we could give more stars we would. A big thank you!!
Margarita M — Google review
For an upscale dining experience Porter & Rye is your restaurant!!! The food is so flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sides are large portions and enough for two to share. All the staff are great but Mary our server was a Rock Star!! We had such a wonderful experience taking our time and enjoying the evening together. We ended with amazing desserts and a beautiful 10 year tawny port.
Kelley J — Google review
Such a lovely meal for our anniversary, the complimentary glass of fizz and beautiful dessert plate was totally unexpected! Food is amazing but the mac & cheese side blew us away, goes so well with the steak. Staff are all so friendly and kind, we will definitely be back!💗
Rachel S — Google review
Only managed to get a booking for 16:45 but the plus side is able to take advantage of the promotion of the small dishes. Had perfect start with the small dishes, especially the tartare, but just as we were approaching the end of the starter we were asked if they can start serving the main course, a bit surprised but didn't want the steak to get cold so agreed to have the main straight away. End up a bit disappointing the steak came lukewarm, and the plate is either already cooled down or never heated. Edit: Reply from the management expects me to bring this up on the spot, yes, maybe, but my expectation is right first time. If this is too much of an ask then so be it.

Miller & Carter Glasgow offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of delectable dishes. Start your meal with the Salt and Pepper Calamari or the amazing bruschetta. Indulge in their Prime Steak Burger or opt for a premium steak for a special occasion. The restaurant also offers a Sunday set 3-course meal, where you can upgrade to better quality steaks. The ambiance is charming, set within an old post office with well-preserved features like the old vault.
Absolutely fantastic. Probably the best surf and turf I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. Great set up selecting your choice of steak, how it's cooked, sauce, wedge and side. Everything tasted amazing and actually good value for money. Nice atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back.

Fabulous lunch today in the Glasgow branch. Started with the sticky chicken bites and they were so good. Mains had to be a steak, 7oz rump, thick and cooked perfectly, paired with beef butter and peppercorn sauce and chunky chips. Not having much room for a dessert it had to be coffee with a mini dessert of profiteroles with caramel sauce. Everything was just perfect with excellent service from Kevin, who was polite, attentive and not intrusive.

Highly recommend Miller and Carter Glasgow. Food was beautiful, staff were warm and welcoming and well as extremely knowledgeable on the products they serve. Myself and my girlfriend will definitely be back. Special mention to Ryan Mac, our server for the night, he was kind, funny and delivered exceptional service.

It was one of the best dinner ever. Every single bite I took was delicious, from the appetizers to the main course and dessert. The service was so professional but also very warm and friendly. The pork belly as a starter is must . Cocktails were amazing

Fantastic place to visit and enjoy the delicious food and drinks. Great atmosphere inside the impressive building! At your first step in, they welcome you with smile and politeness. Food, service, location all 5⭐️ We enjoyed every bite of the meal, prepared and served with patience! Recommended to make reservation in advance!

Great meal for 6 following the great Scottish run. Table booked so no issues with getting seated, Donna was great in explaining how it worked (I was the only person who hadn't eaten at a Miller & Carter before) some of us chose the 3 courses and some from the a la carte which is good to be able to do.

The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our steak expert Chris was very informative and attentive. Only criticism was the place was far too warm to sit in.

Scottish restaurant
Alston Bar & Beef is a stylish and unique steakhouse and gin bar located below the Gordon Street entrance of Glasgow Central Station. It prides itself on carefully sourcing top-quality Scottish steak, with the beef coming from accredited farms in the Tweed Valley of the Scottish Borders. The restaurant offers a wide range of 35-day dry-aged steaks, including options for sharing, as well as other delectable dishes like peanut-crusted cod and caramelised cauliflower.
We booked our table at Alston through First Table (50% off food), and it was an amazing experience. The restaurant is tucked under Glasgow Central, offering an atmospheric setting with a unique vibe. It was exceptionally muggy in Glasgow and the temperature was just perfect below the stone arches. For starters. We had the Scallops and the Reuben on toast, both delicious and a decent portion. For mains we both went for the fillet, my friend got hers rare with mash and peppercorn sauce. I love a blue steak but from many a disappointment I went for rare too, however the amazing and super friendly server came back to say the chef was confident he could cook me the perfect blue steak and if not we would get our starters for free! Challenge excepted!! Holy steak 😜 it was perfect… .unfortunately 🙄 I have walked past this place on numerous occasion’s and didn’t even know it was there and what amazing food they offered, and a wee cool bar side seeing as all the bars have been closed in the station, had it not been for First Table I would probably kept walking past. They need to up their marketing. Super lovely staff, fantastic food and setting. X
Diane F — Google review
Couldn't recommend this place enough, service was absolutely out of this world, so attentive. Lauren I believe served us alongside other staff but she stood out for her customer service, she deserves a raise asap. The mains were delicious, my steak was cooked to perfection and my partner's chicken was juicy and flavourful. Unfortunately the starter I had ordered just wasn't for me, nothing down to how it was cooked or presented I just didn't like the taste! I couldn't comment on dessert as I don't eat sweets but we would be back. The cocktails are fantastic and again the service is next to none. My birthday dinner was definitely a hit! Ps that roasted corn can I have a weekly subscription or the recipe please?😂
Andrea G — Google review
Lovely place for a steak with a really cool setting underneath the station. The steaks were good but the chateaubriand was a bit overcooked. The sides let it down a bit too, the triple cooked fries just weren’t as good as expected but the onion rings were delicious. Great atmosphere and waitress was friendly.
Amanda M — Google review
Had an amazing early dinner. We ordered the charcuterie and sides. What a flavour hit! Wonderful service that’s friendly and informative with being intrusive. Relaxed atmosphere, but still has something special about it. A definite must when in Glasgow. Thank you for this great find.

We did a eat walk food tours in Glasgow and this was one of our first stops. It was in Central Station. It was a perfect spot. The Steak Frites was cooked perfectly — juicy and full of flavor — while the crispy fries were spot on. We paired it with the famous Scottish Irn-Bru, adding a fun local twist. Great food, great service, and a great vibe! Highly recommend
Nick H — Google review
Birthday meal for my wife. 3 of us had ribeye steak all cooked to our liking. My wife had the cod which she really enjoyed. A lovely young lady from Canada served us on the night. All the staff were helpful and friendly.
Gordon C — Google review
Stopped in here on a Sunday night to get my Sunday Roast fix, and am so glad I did. Dispute being crowded, there was no wait to sit, and the waitress was friendly and provided great recommendations. To start, I got the gin fizz, which had a great citrus flavor. For my meal, I had the three course prefixe. My starter was the chicken thigh which was juicy and well seasoned. The labneh was the perfect touch, but the crispy chickpeas were not my favorite, so I just picked around them. The roast was delicious. Very moist with large helping of mashed potatoes, roast potatoes and carrots, cabbage and peas. The gravy has a rich beef flavor and I loved the soft and fluffy Yorkshire pudding. I was very full at this point but had to taste my desert. I chose the Margarita Cranachan. This was my first time ever hearing of this dish but it did not disappoints. It was a rich cream with berries, oats and a faint tequila flavor. I couldn’t eat it all because of the huge portion, but I’m glad I gave it a try. If you’re in the area and have time for a nice bite to eat, I recommend giving it a try.

Tiffney's “The Glasgow Steakhouse” is like that charming friend you can't wait to introduce to your family. Renowned as The Home of Dry Aged Beef, this delightful eatery specializes in top-quality Scotch prime beef sourced from the picturesque regions of Speyside and North-East Scotland. Each cut is carefully selected and aged for a minimum of 70 days in a humidity-controlled environment, ensuring it reaches an exquisite level of tenderness.
Very enjoyable evening. Exceptional cuisine. Delightful atmosphere. Impeccable service. The scallops (photo below) were the best we’ve ever had. The added Kale and bacon just worked! Entire team treated us like we’re family. 10 stars!!
PJ M — Google review
Food was ok. Can’t rate it higher. Cote de Boeuf was very fatty and cooked quite rare in the middle but kinda blasted on the outside. Place is pretty expensive for the product. In all honesty, I wouldn’t go back. It was interesting to try this place but it was a bit of a let down. Don’t buy into the ‘this is a special place, wear smart attire’ thing. We were there Friday night and sitting next to three buzzed kids wearing PJs. Dessert was pretty bad. Confused and just not very good. Response from the owner here conveys something about the atmosphere. They seem to want to argue with people who don’t rate them 5 stars which is unfortunate. We left a lot of the food uneaten and they didn’t check at all if we were ok etc.
Kenny M — Google review
This has to be the go to steak place in Glasgow. If you’ve not been, you need to get a date in the diary. Great steak selection, staff only too happy to help you with the cut and amount/ size you are after. Wonder accompanying dishes too. The starters are varied and match the wider menu. Our dishes were all super tasty, plentiful, large in some cases, but that didn’t cause any issues. All round great meal, great staff and comfortable environment.
Dru D — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed the food here, and everything was served to perfection, hot, and delicious. Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant as you’re not cramped in or sitting side by side as tables of 2, and the service was outstanding - friendly and helpful servers. Wine is very reasonably priced compared to other steak restaurants.

The food, the attention, the ambiance—everything was incredible. We were exceptionally well-cared for and ensured that we had everything we needed. We were here to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday, and he loves a delicious steak. Tiffney’s delivered it right to our table.

We returned to Tiffney’s to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary as there is no better place for steak! Staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere and tunes! We love that the restaurant isn't huge which makes it feel more intimate/cosy. I had fillet steak and my husband had sirloin. Both cooked to absolute perfection and served with fluffy mash, pea shoots and lovely piping hot sides of broccoli, garlic mushrooms and a choice of sauces. Desserts were also stunning, rhubarb crumble and lemon posset but both with a unique twist that elevated the flavours and textures. Superb! The staff had also piped a wee Happy Anniversary message in chocolate on my dessert plate which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. We had another delightful experience and will definitely return, nowhere else we would rather be especially when celebrating important events. Thank you to all of the staff, you do a hard but amazing job! Sadly we were too busy scoffing the food to take photos but here is a pre-scoff photo of my dessert! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Maureen C — Google review
This is a wee hidden gem. Everything was exceptional from the second we stepped in the door. We were shown the cuts for the day which was explained in great detail. My husband wasn't to sure about the beer they had on tap and they gave a small glass for him to try. The extra matured fillet steak was on another level. The flavour was distinctly different from anything I have ever tasted. It was a little pricier but only what you would expect with a 5 star service serving 5 star food. I have visited many steak restaurants but this has to be thee best place I have ever been to and honestly cannot wait to return.

Chophouse restaurant
The McMillan Bar + Chop House is a stunning steakhouse that specializes in locally sourced meat and seafood. They have a wide variety of wines to choose from, as well as cocktails and beers. Their private dining room can accommodate up to 24 people for an intimate dinner. The food was excellent, and their service was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an amazing evening out.
Went here shortly after I gave birth to enjoy my first steak in over 9 months 😅 It did not disappoint. Cooked exactly as requested and very tasty. Reasonable pricing. There is lots of space in the restaurant to come along with the pram. And the staff was very friendly.

The Topside of Beef Sunday Roast was tasty and generously portioned. The Sirloin Steak was tender and juicy, and the Cullen skink was smokey, creamy and filling though more potato than actual fish. More vegetarian main options needed, there was really only Cauliflower.

Really very good steak! Really. Chips were amazing too. The onion rings and Mac and cheese were nice but had their thunder stolen. Special shout out for the jalapeno and pineapple chicken wings - never had any like it and they were fab

On my list of top 5 for Sunday roast that we had. Every item on my plate of beef was quality and perfection. The beef was the best I've had in a long time. The atmosphere is great, spacious and they even dimmed down the lights later in in the evening.

At the end of a long day driving from London to Glasgow, the McMillan Bar hit the mark in every way possible. The staff were friendly and great to talk to. The filets were perfection... and came with some of the best mash we've ever had (w/ garlic butter but it's not needed). I highly recommend you visit.

This is the 4th time I’ve been here and it was great the first 3 times. Unfortunately something was very off with the food on this last visit. Everything was dry and not very tasty. The steak was very dry and a little tough. The fish was a little bland and the peas were so dry they were inedible. We ended up leaving quite a lot of food on our plates. The place has a great vibe, lovely decor and great staff but the food itself was a real let down this time. To be honest, It’s put me off going back. I wonder if they have changed chefs since we were last there or they were just having an off night.

My boyfriend and I love this place. That is twice now they have accommodated us at the last minute when no where else would take us. We had the Châteaubriand steak deal and it was absolutely divine. Everything about the meal was cooked to perfection from the truffle coated chips to the tenderstem broccoli. The staff are lovely too and can’t do enough for you! High praise to the chef! 👏 10/10 🌟

The Spanish Butcher in Glasgow is a trendy restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, specializing in Spanish-inspired meat and seafood dishes. It's the latest addition from the team behind The Butcher Shop and Hutcheson's, offering an effortlessly cool design and an exciting menu. From Grade 9 Galician steak to 30-month salt-cured Iberico Jamon, whole Turbot, and grilled octopus, the restaurant showcases some of Scotland's finest ingredients.
Beautiful restaraunt, service from the staff was incredible. Explained the menu in depth and gave recommendations based on what we were looking for and generally just a very good and positive attitude which I feel can make the atmosphere of a place. Food absolutely couldn’t fault at all it was insane. It is pricey and there is a 12.5% service charge added which is quite steep however this experience was worth every penny. One of the best places I’ve ever visited and steak was cooked to perfection. You defo do need to book to get in here 😊

We visited the Spanish Butcher for a birthday meal. It was a 215pm booking and the restaurant was pretty empty. The staff were ok, but setting the standards low but when we got seated the chap was keen to walk away and we just about got drinks from him. He did come back with the drinks pretty quick but rushed off right away. Starters we got prawns and then scallops. Both dishes were nice. For mains we got the fish and I got gelecian fillet Med rare. The fish was nice and best part no bones. The steak was pretty decent for the price. It was seared very very nice. As it was my birthday meal the restaurant did give a card. Nice touch. If your reading this far your see why I dropped 2 stars on food. For the price the prawns was a good size but the scallops were really small. I should drop 2 stars we had a stone in the lentils and typically I ended up crunching down and chipped a filling. I did show the staff they said sorry and gave us a free dessert. Not 2 but one. Drinks was a reason I added a food star as they were really reasonable in price. Not a typical rip off with restaurants these days I’m not sure I would return. But would say this place is worth a shot

Arguably the best steakhouse in glasgow alongside Tiffany's! Came here a couple of years ago & absolutely loved it. Miles ahead of Miller & carter. So many different steak options, mines was marbled and cooked to perfection. Would highly reccomend to anybody thats looking for a high end steak!

Had such a great night at The Spanish Butcher, on Monday! The tomahawk steak was cooked to absolute perfection — so tender and full of flavour. The mac and cheese was honestly next level, could’ve eaten a whole bowl of it on its own! 😂 Huge shoutout to Louisa who looked after us — her service was spot on from start to finish, super friendly and made us feel really welcome. Can’t wait to go back already!

Best steak in long time. A lovely restaurant in a nice intimate setting. Courteous and attentive staff, quality decor, great setting. Food was out quickly and of high quality. We had chateaubriand, Scottish sirloin and gallacia fillet. All were cooked well and sides and starters with generous portions. Semi open kitchen which looked immaculate, along with rest of restaurant. One minor point is there was one diner with nut allergy as per booking which was not addressed by staff. We are careful, have pen ready and know nothing is guaranteed with any kitchen, but its strange for it not to be acknowledged. Will go back again, as lovely steak restaurants are a rare thing.

Phenomenal meal. Pimientos de Pedron are a favorite and they are great here. Of course the star of the meal was the chateaubriand. As others have said, it’s amazing. Just a hint of smoke on the char, cooked to perfection inside. Cauliflower and especially the mushrooms rounded out a terrific meal. Decent wine selection. - we went with a Napa Cab. Service was super-friendly and on-point. Just an all around terrific experience.

Restaurant
Mini Grill Steakhouse in Glasgow is a charming family-run eatery tucked away on Bath Street. The restaurant offers traditional pub dishes with a Scottish twist, as well as a variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Whether you're craving a steak lunch, juicy burger, or Sunday roast, Mini Grill has it all. The cozy setting makes it perfect for couples seeking a special night out.
Went on a Tuesday early evening to use a birthday voucher. We have been before and would happily go back again. The food was great, and service was almost there - just took a bit of time for drinks (the cocktail wasn't the best, and think it was a second attempt. Possibly why it took a wee while). The girls serving were great though. Really like the change to the lay out, makes the place that big bigger and brighter. Would and have recommended to others!

I absolutely loved this restaurant. I had one of the best steaks of my life here (Sirloin from the Grill Menu). I had some of the best service I have ever experienced and their suggestions were spot on. My husband’s venison meal and the Haggis Trio were also amazing. We can’t wait to come back on our next trip to Glasgow.

First time at Mini Grill and my first steak dinner in a long time. Had a £50 voucher to use, so decided to go for a proper treat. We ordered the Tomahawk steak, £88, which comes with salad, 2 sides and 2 sauces. We went for: 🥩 Tomahawk Steak: Asked for medium-rare, but it arrived much closer to well-done. We mentioned it, and they replaced the steak - though it did take a while. To be sure, we asked for the second one to be rare, and it came out much better (swipe for comparison). 🍟 Chicken & Thyme Chips – Insanely good, packed with flavour and so moreish. These were the highlight for me! 🥔 Roast Potatoes – Crispy on the outside but a little dense inside. They had a nice seasoning, but they didn’t quite hit the same level as the chips. 🍶 Sauces - Red wine jus & Peppercorn - both were fine but nothing standout. They added moisture but didn’t bring much depth to the dish. The staff handled the mistake well, replacing both the steak and sides, and took our wine off the bill, which I appreciated. But for the price and reputation, I expected a smoother experience. Even the new steak didn’t blow me away, was just fine. I wouldn’t rush back, which is a shame. I’ve heard such good things about this place and the staff did their best to solve our problems. Follow me on insta for more reviews: @Lewishere_lewisthere

Lovely food & attentive staff( we felt the stark back as it was a little under cooked. But they sorted it immediately) We only had the table for 2 hours and ,as some of the party was late, we had to leave before dessert. Will definitely be back

I am reluctantly giving 4 stars instead of 5 - I am by no means some masterchef judge nor a cook. If I am being extremely picky and had to fault something - under the assumption I must fault something... - that would be the venison point that for my non-exquisite palate was somewhat overcooked. however - the scallops were divine. venison (above remarks) was superbly balanced with the beetroot crisps and jus.

Absolutely delicious - would recommend. The team were totally lovely and totally on the ball. So nice to have folks that can really guide you through the process and pay attention. Beautiful little restaurant, just perfect for a lovely steak. Probably the best steak I've had at a restaurant. Just at the top end of Bath street and had great on street parking. Will definitely be back.

We visited for date night and was the first time we have visited. We loved the food! My husband had the rib eye on the bone and i had the slow cooked beef and omg! Both so good. There was options for gluten free as well as parts of the menu they could make gluten free. The staff were so lovely, Trisha was our waitress and she was so full of energy, great chat and showed great enthusiasm for her work but also the male worker Tam/Tom and his tartan bunnet. We will back again. Would also recommend sitting downstairs as atmosphere was fun.

Meat Bar is a trendy basement venue in Glasgow that offers a unique dining experience. It's known for its Scottish and American craft beers, savory cocktails, and home-smoked meats. The restaurant takes pride in its special recipe beef patties made from three different cuts of the finest Scottish beef.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Meat Bar, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy decor that sets the perfect tone for a relaxing meal. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making sure every detail was perfect. I ordered the steak sandwich and Caesar salad, and both were simply delightful. The steak sandwich was a true highlight – the beef was cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. The bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, providing a satisfying crunch with each bite. The sandwich was generously portioned, making it a fulfilling and enjoyable meal. The Caesar salad was equally impressive. Crisp, fresh romaine lettuce was topped with a rich and creamy dressing that had just the right balance of tanginess and creaminess. The homemade croutons added a delicious crunch, making each bite enjoyable. Overall, Meat Bar exceeded my expectations with its exceptional food quality and impeccable service. I highly recommend trying their steak sandwich and Caesar salad – both are excellent choices that showcase the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence. I will definitely be returning soon to explore more of their menu.

We had a reservation here for our dinner club friends. We meet up every few months and try different restaurants. We were greeted immediately opinion arrival and shown to a large table for 6 in a recessed room. It was lovely but a bit cold. We had a round of starters to share and a main course. We had two bottles of wine and a couple of beers. Overall including a tip it worked out about £50 per head. The service was prompt and the food was very good. I’d recommend this place.

Perfectly cooked juicy and tender steaks. Delicious even without the sauce. I forgot to ask for salt and pepper because I couldn’t stop eating :3 The sides were quite oily and heavy, but the green leaves, tomato, and mushroom were a good companion to the beef. Service was very friendly.

Argentinian restaurant
If you're exploring the culinary scene in Glasgow city centre, look no further than Gaucho. This stylish Argentinian-inspired restaurant offers a delightful array of premium, sustainable steaks alongside burgers, pasta, and gnocchi. Guests can indulge in their meals while lounging in plush velvet booths illuminated by soft lighting. Notably, Gaucho is pioneering the carbon-neutral steak movement in the UK, featuring free-range Aberdeen Angus beef from Argentina paired with fresh local Scottish ingredients.
We walked into the restaurant and it was so beautiful. We were greeted at the door and asked if we would like to put our items in the cloak room and then we were taken to our seat. It was very clean and I loved the atmosphere and the music that was playing. We ordered from the Winter Set Lunch Menu and we were checked upon while eating. The food was tasty, the service was amazing and we had a lovely time there. Only downside is that food portion sizes were a bit small but apart from that, I had a great time.

We had dinner at Gaucho in Glasgow last night and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The restaurant has a beautiful and stylish atmosphere – very comfortable and welcoming. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout the evening. From starters to dessert, every course was excellent. Both the meat dishes and the fish option were delicious and clearly prepared with care. One of the highlights for us was how warmly our dog was welcomed. A bowl of water was brought to the table without us even asking, and there was even the option to order a special menu for dogs – a really thoughtful touch. Whether you're a dog owner or not, Gaucho is a great choice and highly recommended for anyone who appreciates good food and a relaxed, elegant setting.

What a sexy restaurant! Fillet steak cooked to perfection, staff are super friendly and attentive. I would have liked a side of ice cream or cream with my cheesecake but that’s me just being over indulgent! I am pretty sure the staff and chefs would have accommodated but I never asked. Was looking forward to trying Gaucho…was not disappointed!

We recently visited the Glasgow branch on Monday 26th and were warmly welcomed by Sam. From the moment we arrived, Sam was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Both Sam and Gavin engaged us in great conversation and took the time to ask about our trip, which added a personal and thoughtful touch to our dining experience. Upon asking for halal options, Sam kindly checked with the chef and informed us about the halal steak available. We really appreciated the effort and clear communication. We opted for three mains with sides (as all steaks come with sides) and two mocktails. Sam recommended a main dish, and we were not disappointed. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection tender, well seasoned, and full of flavour. Without exaggeration, it was one of the best steak experiences we've ever had. As for the mocktails, we found them a bit too sour for our taste and noted that the selection was limited. This is not a criticism, but rather a suggestion perhaps consider expanding the mocktail menu with options that are more balanced in flavour that could elevate the drinks menu further. Overall, the service, hospitality and food quality were exceptional. Our experience at the Glasgow branch was memorable. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this branch. Special thanks again to Sam and Gavin for making our visit so enjoyable.

We’ve visited Gaucho Glasgow many times as a couple, and it continues to impress us every single time. In our opinion, it’s the best dining spot in the city. The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated — perfect for a romantic evening or a special occasion. The food is consistently outstanding. The filet and chateaubriand are our go-to choices — always cooked to perfection and packed with flavour. The wine list is excellent, with plenty of choice and helpful recommendations from the team. The cocktail menu is extensive, but what really stands out is the flexibility — the bartenders are more than happy to make something bespoke if there’s something specific you’re in the mood for. The attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile really sets the place apart. The service is exceptional — professional, warm, and attentive without ever being intrusive. Every visit feels like a treat, and we always leave already planning our next one. Highly recommended — consistently delivers a flawless experience.

Excellent meal. Service was so friendly and nice. Burrata could have had a bit more truffle but still good. Ribeyes were tender and delicious. Wine list is a bit dear but it’s all good stuff. The vibe and decor are very cool. All in all a terrific meal.

I went here with my girlfriend for our anniversary, and as always this place did not disappoint. We shared the Chateaubriand and a Ribeye (both cooked perfectly) with the mac and cheese, mash and garlic mushrooms; and the chimichurri, peppercorn and mushroom sauces to join the flavour fest too. Great service from our server Luis also.

Went looking for a decent whiskey bar while in Glasgow city centre for a couple of nights and found an excellent one. I know a decent amount about whiskey and have a collection of around 40 bottles, so I asked the staff to recommend me something. I told them I had no preference as long as they're smooth on the way down. The lady brought me 4 whiskies to choose from and explained them all. I couldn't decide which to try so I bought all 4, and I wasn't disappointed. All 4 were new to me and I was delighted with the recommendations. Great decor and feel. Great atmosphere. Hundreds of bottles to try. Knowledgeable staff who know their drams.

Scottish restaurant
Stravaigin, a restaurant with a name derived from an old Scots word meaning "to wander aimlessly with intent," offers gourmet dishes made from unconventional ingredients like grey squirrel, hedgerow herbs, and sea urchins. Since its opening in 1994, the restaurant has been known for its experimental flavors and sustainable sourcing of local and global ingredients.
We got caught in the rain during our visit of the Glasgow university buildings, and just picked a spot that was nearby. It turned out to be a very positive surprise as we came along this lovely Scottish restaurant. It was a bit crowded but luckily we got a table and enjoyed some amazing dishes and drinks. It is a bit more on the pricy side, however you get amazing dishes for your money and very attentive service.
Tamás M — Google review
We had a reservation at Stravaigin last night for a business dinner during a work trip to Glasgow. One of our guests was travelling with their dog, and according to the website, dogs are welcome on the ground floor. Since there’s a quiet and comfortable area downstairs that seemed suitable for a business meal, we made our booking with a clear note stating that we’d be bringing a dog and that it was a business occasion. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told that our table had been booked upstairs—where dogs aren’t allowed. When we pointed this out, the staff checked and confirmed that our note had indeed been included in the reservation, but it had simply been overlooked. Mistakes happen, and we understand that. However, by the time we arrived, there were no free tables left in the quieter area on the ground floor. Instead of making an exception and allowing the dog upstairs in light of their own mistake, we were asked to wait and were eventually seated in the very loud pub area. It was far from suitable for a professional conversation. Sorry Stravaigin, but we communicated everything clearly in advance—both the business context and the presence of a dog. If that information is ignored, the customer shouldn't have to bear the consequences. A customer-focused solution would have been the right thing to do. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend Stravaigin for business dining or for situations that require flexibility or accountability.

After a recommendation form a friend my husband and I went here for lunch. We were up in Glasgow visiting family. The food was absolutely fantastic and really tasty. What a great experience visiting Stravagin! Food and team were stunning. We had a table for three tucked high in the mezzanine… we all loved that location and will be asking to be sat there again. 2 of our party ate from the Sunday roast menu… for starters… soup of the day which was extremely flavourful, and seared cauliflower with hazelnuts and curry leaves… I highly recommend this dish it was delicious! These were followed by the roast rump of beef, which was tender and cooked to perfection, and all the accompanying vegetables cooked perfectly, special mention for the hispi cabbage … and the onion purée. Our other diner chose the a la carte menu… grilled sardines to start cooked to perfection.., followed by a loin of venison cooked to perfection. We forced ourselves to have dessert…none of which disappointed. Fantastic crème brulle, and a velvety chocolate cremaux, and i really enjoyed the quirky serving of Brie with brioche and onion chutney. Can’t wait to return to this gem of a Glasgow restaurant again soon. Well done to all the team.

Could not recommend highly enough! We booked the cellar for our wedding celebration and from the first contact, everything has been perfect! Jade was so lovely and helpful in helping us get everything sorted before it - nothing was too much trouble. On the day, Olivia got the room ready for us and it was perfect and ensured we had everything we needed all night. The food was incredible and all our guests loved it - everyone kept talking about the mussels!! But what made our night truly special was the staff! The service was absolutely brilliant! The cherry on the cake was the gigantic tiramisu for dessert which was amazing! We can’t wait to be back! Thank you again for everything 🩷

Amazing food, we went there for a birthday celebration. The muscles were super fresh, great pork belly and probably the best haggis we've ever tried. Our server was super helpful in making our choices without being pushy for any item. I only have one thing to fault the restaurant, and it's that they didnt put on the menu that there was an added 10% service charge. We would have left a tip otherwise. However, really good experience overall.

Tried out Stravaigin after being recommended and it did not disappoint. Had the mussels with the red sauce and it was the best part of the meal . Had some starters and haggis which unexceptional. Was a bit disappointed in the ice cream of the day - it was an oat meal cream with an oat biscuit, not the best combination but probably a poor choice of dessert on our part . Great selection of whisky , with a whisky menu which I believe is new . They didn’t have the whisky I wanted but the staff were kind enough to recommend one and even price match to the one I had initially asked for! I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu . Great interiors btw

Stravaigin truly delivers on its motto: “Think global, eat local.” The food was outstanding - creative, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. I was especially surprised by the attention to detail in even the simplest dishes. The green side dish, in particular, stood out - perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. It’s rare to see such care put into every element of the meal.

The food was delicious and all freshly made to order. Party of 6 of us, so tried various starters. 3 of us had mixed grill and was cooked to perfection. One had ribs and these were succulent and fell of the bone. One had beer battered fish and one was a vegetarian meal. All meals were delicious and great value prices. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back in the future.

*Detailed Review* I would like to start by acknowledging one notable strength of this establishment: its ability to accommodate large family groups, which is certainly a plus. However, I must express my disappointment with several aspects of our experience. The prices were exorbitant considering the value provided. While the portion sizes were reasonable, the quality of the food was merely edible. Unfortunately, this was the extent of the positives. Upon arrival, we were immediately struck by the plethora of threatening parking signs, warning of fines for exceeding time limits while already being overcharged for food. This created an unwelcoming atmosphere from the start. Upon entering the premises, we noticed that the toilet had a full-sized bath towel on the floor, which was presumably intended to soak up fluids. While I appreciate the effort to maintain cleanliness, this approach seemed unorthodox. The service style, where customers order at the bar from disintrested staff and collect their own utensils and drinks, was somewhat disjointed. My sister-in-law received two glasses of Pepsi Max in large, highball glasses that differed from the others and, unfortunately, had a strong odor of stale water. Throughout our meal, the table was cleared intermittently, but not consistently, leaving some used plates and utensils behind. Just as we were concluding our meal, the pub quiz commenced, and the loud commentary disrupted our conversation. Ironically, the brief respite from background noise that preceded was a welcome change, allowing us to engage in conversation. In conclusion, while this establishment has some potential, there are several areas that require significant improvement to provide a satisfactory experience for patrons. The picture is a £20 burger

Nicole was awesome! Had a meal with my partner and a friend I hadn't seen for many years. Food was great and Nicole was very positive and upbeat considering it was the end of a Sunday, made sure we had everything we needed. Was nice and quiet when we arrived, food came real quick too.

We stopped here for breakfast as a group of 9 while travelling for a holiday. It's a great place to stop as a family as kids eat free and there's a good choice of food even for fussy eaters. The hot food was all you can eat but not a buffet, so the food was all served fresh. The lady who served us, Debbie, was very friendly and nothing seemed like too much trouble for her despite us being a large group with 5 kids.

I have used this Beefeater for 3 weekends, while staying at the hotel next door. The service and staff were excellent. Very welcoming, friendly and a relaxed atmosphere. Pauline is amazing, one breakfast in particular, it was packed and yet she ensured everyone was attended to, all their needs were met and all with a smile on her face. Thank you! X

Really wanted it to be better than it was, as was out for a birthday celebration. Nice server but service painfully slow, made worse by a number of items not available on the menu such as fish & chips and sticky toffee pudding to name a few. Food was well received by the majority. Avoid the nachos as not worth the money, came with BBQ sauce, not salsa? Strange. Plus points no rush, ample space, child friendly and plenty of parking.

Bo'Vine Meats & Wines is a charming restaurant located in an old milking ground with exposed brick walls and a bull's head sculpture, offering Scottish reared produce. Situated near popular dining spots like Cail Bruich and Oran Mor, this establishment stands out for its quality dining experience. The friendly staff and clean environment add to the appeal of this place. It is conveniently connected to the Grovesnor hotel and offers great deals on meals during specific hours.

Had a lovely Afternoon Tea, sandwiches, scones and dainty cakes were all delicious. Endless pots of tea. We were given this as a gift.
Fiona M — Google review
Absolutely the worst afternoon tea experience ever! My friend and I have had afternoon tea numerous times in the Grosvenor and rated it one of the best in Glasgow but we’ll never go back now that it’s not in the Terrace. We arrived yesterday to a member of management having an argument on the phone to someone about a lack of chefs (should never be happening within earshot of customers!). The lady who was clearly the supervisor that greeted us was miserable and clearly unorganised. We were left waiting while she went to wipe down a table and clear it of previously used crockery before we were seated. The table was not set up in advance (this was clearly the case for other guests arriving after us to a similar ‘welcome’). Surely when you have to book a time to attend, there should be appropriate tables set up ready for your arrival? The table was set up by a junior member of staff who brought crockery, cutlery, etc in 4 trips- when I got my cup and saucer I was told “that’s the only cup I could find”! We waited 20 minutes for our Prosecco. We had to complain about the sandwiches - 1 ham sandwich had only a 1.5cm square of ham on it! We were offered replacement sandwiches then waited a further 15minutes for them to arrive. We overheard similar complaints of being kept waiting and wrong orders brought from the tables around us. It honestly felt like we were in a Fawlty Towers set-up! All in all, it was a dreadful experience and one which will certainly never be repeated. A very poor show all round!

I was gifted an afternoon tea with prosecco for Christmas, we were given tea and our prosecco shortly after arrival, then the food on the cake stand. Sandwiches were good, however the scones weren't baked properly and were doughy in the middle, the cakes looked very nice but had no taste. No one came and asked if everything was OK or if we wanted another drink etc. We sat for quite some time before we left without anyone coming to the table eventhough the restaurant had very few people in it. The afternoon tea was quite disappointing if I'm honest as I have had very good afternoon tea's at hilton hotels on many occasions.
Josephine O — Google review
Afternoon Tea to be avoided at Grosvenor Hotel. I absolutely love Afternoon Tea’s but sadly have to say this is the worst one I’ve been to and I’ve been to many throughout the UK. It was purchased via Groupon. My sister paid £29 rather than £59 (with Prosecco).Reason why ticked between £50-£60. On arrival the door on Byres Road wouldn’t open and we had to walk in through hotel. There was no table set. Had to wait while this was done. While sitting, I saw 5 different sets of people trying to enter, as we had, and couldn’t. I opened it for two couples. I told the staff they should have a sign on the door to alert people to push very hard as door extremely stiff. Staff said that was a good idea and would inform management. We were offered Tea or Coffee, but couldn’t have tea and coffee each should we wish to. Tea came in a large pot for both, which was not good. That’s a first. I had to go and ask a waitress to bring milk. I asked what the sandwich fillings were and was told “oh, I don’t know. I can take your cake stand into the kitchen and ask the chef, as he will know.” Tea was lukewarm in cup by the time the milk arrived. The sandwiches looked awful. Seriously. All, except ham and tomato, had some kind of cream cheese or a creamy substance on them which I don’t like. My sister didn’t eat these either. The cakes were not to my liking as mostly mousse type cream or chocolate based. The only thing I enjoyed was the choux bun and the scone. Glad my sister enjoyed the small cakes. Thankful for the two older ladies who provided a good service, in a place that possibly is not familiar with afternoon tea.

I celebrated my 60th Birthday here with my family (18 of us) in early June. I have to say the service was above and beyond what I could ever have expected. The staff were amazing, special mention to Julie and Niamh who were both attentive without being intrusive, they just couldn't do enough for all of us. The food was also delicious. I would definitely recommend Bo Vine for fantastic food and excellent service.
Beverley A — Google review
We have been coming here for the chateaubriand through Groupon for about 4 years with no issues until recently. The food was always great but lately the standards seem to have dropped, I'm not sure if it's a change of chef but the steak wasnt as nice and the peppercorn sauce was more like a beef gravy. The triple cooked chips were overcooked too. The manager Karen was very helpful tonight unlike the manager on a recent visit who didn't even come near when I'd had a tray of drinks spilt on me. Hopefully things will improve or we'll need to look for a new place to eat.

We were lucky enough to be looked after by Julie tonight, but whole team were fab. First visit but already planning a return. Amazing wine list, lovely menu and Steaks. The Cheese Platter was phenomenal, huge. Feel bad we never visited before, heading back for the Uruguay vino.... Thanks!

Nestled in the heart of Paisley, Little Steak House is a charming and intimate eatery that exudes warmth and comfort. This cozy spot specializes in mouthwatering steaks and grilled dishes, complemented by an array of seafood options and delightful veggie sides. As you step inside, you're immediately enveloped in a welcoming ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.
As mentioned by others, the staff here was very helpful and easy to work with. Their skill is a reflection of the quality of the entire establishment. We will definitely return every time we come to visit Scotland, from Texas. And as a Texan who judges every BBQ by their ribs, this chef absolutely nailed it. Lastly, the ribeye which my wife had was so tender that she cut it with her fork!

My boyfriend and I made a late reservation over the phone for 8pm, got there a half hour early and was seated almost instantly, had never been before but everything was amazing! Black pudding bon bons to start were out of this world, thoroughly enjoyed them! (Should do it as a main also) my partner had the crab Tian to start, he loved that! My hamish burger for main was too large to finish, very tasty, maybe a little too much pulled pork but if you're a fan of pulled pork, you'll love it! I really have to be in the mood for it so that was my own bad! My partner had the lobster and he thought it was amazing, he did wish it was a full lobster though. We both had the chocolate orange mess for pudding and that was gone in seconds, bloody delicious! Staff were friendly over the phone when booking and in the restaurant! Will definitely return :D

What a lovely evening my partner and I have had tonight in The Little Steak House a warm welcoming atmosphere as soon as you enter this intimate little restaurant, a cozy homely feel, the staff could not have been nicer and the food was excellent and so was the rioja. We usually have a main and dessert but both of us were full to bursting after our mains my partner had 12oz fillet that was butter tender an I had the full rack of ribs that was also beautifully tender. No faults at all for us we thoroughly enjoyed our night, thanks Lauren and team.

Called in for a glass of wine with an early dinner. Had the set 2 course dinner for £13. Fish and chips then lemon posset. My friend had a much more expensive steak then a more elaborate strawberry and cream confection, also with shortcake. We both got just what we wanted and friendly service. Will go back.

Second visit for us and this little place didn't disappoint great food and really friendly staff. We were encouraged by the waitress to order the Châteaubriand and there was a little wait and because of that we received free bread and dips when the steak arrived it was everything we wanted and the onion rings were amazing

The Meat Joint Scottish Steakhouse, located at 327 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3HW, United Kingdom, is renowned for its Aberdeen Black Angus and a variety of steak options such as Cote de Boeuf, Fillet, Sirloin and the Butler Steak. The restaurant prides itself on offering world-class food with exceptional service. Visitors have praised the outstanding service provided by Mark and the high standards of cleanliness and atmosphere.
Friendly staff let us come in a bit early without booking. The starters were very nicely done, I particularly liked the haggis. The mains were sensational we had a ribeye steak and a sirloin; both were very good cuts of meat and both were cooked perfectly. We left happily full and passed out for a big sleep afterwards ;-).
Steven C — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The steak was perfectly grilled with a delicious crust and a generous sprinkling of sea salt, paired with thick, golden chips that were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside—great portion size too. The lamb main was equally impressive. Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, it came with a variety of textures and flavours that made every bite enjoyable—especially the crispy elements and the flavourful sauce. For dessert, the raspberry tart was a lovely finish. Light, creamy, and not too sweet, with just the right tartness from the raspberry coulis and fresh fruit. Service was smooth, and the overall value was excellent for the quality and portion sizes. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Edinburgh looking for a satisfying meal that doesn’t skimp on flavour or quantity.

I finally tried this restaurant after hearing glowing recommendations—and it did not disappoint. I was seated straight away, and from the moment I looked at the menu, I knew I had to go for one of their signature dishes: the lamb leg with haggis and vegetables. It turned out to be the best decision of the night. The lamb was perfectly crackled on the outside yet tender inside, with every bite packed with flavour. The presentation was beautiful, and I started the meal with a delicious, comforting soup that set the tone for the evening. Service was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant had a relaxed, inviting ambiance. A great dining experience all around—I’ll definitely be returning.

You will not find a better steak! We first came here in 2023 before we got married and the meal we had then became a bit of a legendary tale for good it was. From then on, every other steak we had was compared to the famous Meat Joint magic and while good, others just never came close to that melt in the mouth experience we had in Glasgow. Determined to seek out weather or not it was truly as delicious as what we remembered, or was it all a myth we'd generated in our heads, we ventured back to the restaurant two years later... Needless to say, the plates were near licked clean! Oh yes, it was as good as the fabled tales had foretold! Honestly, expect a beautiful meal here and overall wonderful experience - this is a perfect cozy restaurant which can be enjoyed through the day or at night and is a gem of a location close to the centre of town. The staff could not be more friendly, welcoming or helpful and clearly they are passionate about good food. But don't just take my word for it... go and create your own legend! And i can only apologise for ruining every other steak experience you have from there on :P

We had an amazing experienxe at The Meat Joint in Glasgow! Seriously, that venison was out of this world - best I've ever had, hands down. The steak was incredible too. What really stood out was how welcoming the staff were, proper handshakes and made you feel like a VIP. Funny little thing - even the toilets were spotless and playing Scottish comedy! Definitely recommend checking this place out and we are looking forward to coming back 😀

Little hidden gem. Seen a video on tiktok and looked lovely, so thought give it a go for my birthday. Very quiet, although we went on a Wednesday evening so would think be more busy at weekends. Prebooked online, which took a £20 deposit but this got taken off the bill. Quite a small place, maybe only 10-12 tables, but decorated lovely. Food was amazing, we got the duck egg and scallops to start (also got the Haggis for free as kitchen made error) and all were lovely. We also got the Chateaubriand sharer with the truffle chips and onion rings, then added the mac and cheese on side. It comes two sauces so got diane sauce, and Chimmichuri (also got red wine jus and peppercorn free due to earlier error with starter) and all were really nice. I could have easily just had the chips and onion rings, they were so good, never had onion rings like that in my life! Toilets are mixed so male and female in same ones, but were clean and especially liked the fact they had Kevin Bridges playing. Quite pricey but the quality of food and service is worth it. Would definitely return.

We visited The Meat Joint a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary as it was recommended to us by a friend. Tucked away at the bottom of Sauchiehall street, as we walked in passers by told us we were in for a treat - and they were absolutely right - this hidden gem is small but mighty! We were greeted by a lovely, small team who really knew their stuff about the locally sourced ingredients and their best wine pairings. The service was very personal and felt very natural - the staff were very genuine and conversational. We opted for the scallops, chateaubriand (served with skin on fries, garlic butter and peppercorn sauce). The presentation was immaculate and the food was beautiful. The stand out for us was the steak (cooked medium-rare) with a beautifully grilled crispy outer finish. We had clean plates by the end of the meal and smiles on our faces after having a wee laugh with the staff. It really made our anniversary that bit more special, we will absolutely be back and cannot recommend it enough!

Visited here whilst in Glasgow for work. Another review stated it served Halal steaks, so I called, and they confirmed they serve Halal beef steaks, beef burgers, and hot dogs, which are cooked separately. The steak was lovely. It was a 10oz ribeye with peppercorn sauce, which was equally as delicious. The mac and cheese was creamy, and overall, the service was good, albeit it was an extremely quiet early weekday evening. Would certainly consider visiting again.

Yes we went into Gost with some high expectations, but what we didn't know is how strong their seafood game was in comparison to their exceptionally strong steak one. Yes both the steaks we tried were premium with a capital P, but those plates of seafood absolutely floored us down to the seabed. This place maybe be pricey; but, given that this is in the heart of Glasgow city centre, and in light of the quality of their ingredients, the talent of the chefs, and the ambience of the restaurant itself, we can ensure you that every penny will be well spent. Needless to say, there's going to be a number of food and drink items here that'll most likely be shortlisted for our end of year awards in December. In the meantime, we'd strongly encourage Gost being somewhere close towards the top of your list of restaurants to visit when in Glasgow. Menu Recommendation: Drink - The PomonaBest Starter - Pan Seared Scottish King Scallops/ Charcoal Grilled Octopus Steak - Fillet Dessert - Ferrero Rocher & Caramel Sundae HALAL STATUS: Halal menu available (cooked & prepped separately) • Alcohol served.

The Palais, located on Duke Street in Glasgow, was honored with the Best Independent Bar award. The venue is praised for its nice atmosphere, ambiance, and decor. It’s been a year or two since I visited this bar but it’s undergone somewhat of a transformation. Pub quiz Thursday meant the vibe was buzzy and busy. CAU Steak Restaurant in Glasgow offers the finest Argentinian-style barbecued beef, including unique cuts like lomito and asado de chorizo. The Aberdeen Angus beef is fed on the Pampas Plains, resulting in a fusion of flavors that's truly exceptional. Located just off George Square, the restaurant provides a pleasant atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff. Customers have praised the excellent service and delicious food, particularly recommending the fish tacos.
The service was first class, nothing was too much trouble. We all had steaks, 2 rib eye, a rump and a sirloin, all delicious. All sides and sauces charged separately though which irks me. Drinks are pricey too, but overall an excellent night.

Great, slightly different food for a reasonable price considering it's location. Only negative is that we were tempted in by the "brunch" menu, which was in fact only served until midday (too late for us at the time) - so more of a breakfast menu really

Central location just off George Square. Pleasant atmosphere inside with good staff. Andrea the server was excellent very polite and happy, provided suggestions to what was her personal favourite dishes etc. The food arrived and was presented nicely and tasted good. Service was not overly rushed but not slow, it felt like you had time between courses and just as you were thinking about your next course it arrived. Would recommend place to anyone wanting city centre dining, while not costing an arm and a leg. On a side note, for all the sweet toothed people out there, get the pancakes...

Bar
Malo- Wine & Negroni Bar, located on Bothwell Street, is a new and promising addition to the scene. The bar boasts an impressive wine selection and a variety of negroni options that are sure to please any cocktail enthusiast. While they don't serve meals, their outstanding snacks, particularly the olives, make for a delightful accompaniment to the drinks. The attentive staff are knowledgeable about their products and happy to offer recommendations.
We like to stop by Malo most times we are in Glasgow. We love the food (charcuterie, cheese board, olives & focaccia) and their wine & cocktail selection are great. The atmosphere is great too. A lovely wee place to have a drink. It does get quite busy at the weekends & service can be quite slow at times especially during the busier times.

Really good wine selection, fantastic negroni options, excellent variety or cocktails and other drinks for those not into the main events... They don't serve meals here but the snacks are outstanding... the olives are a personal highlight. Service is always excellent with attentive staff who will continually top up your water which, for me, is tremendous. The knowledge of the products is also excellent and they're happy to take questions and give recommendations. Place is clean with a wonderful atmosphere. 100% recommend.

Have always loved the vibe and wine selection here. Which makes that I won’t be coming back such a shame because of the poor service. Have been here three times and noticed the staff weren’t attentive but this was probably the worst. Sat outside was told it was table service. Got seen to once and had to go back in and look for a waiter each time I wanted to order. Every time I came in staff were chatting at the bar. Which is fine but frustrating when they haven’t seen to you. Our waiter came outside and had a smoke beside us. Again is fine probably on break. But glasses were empty and would’ve been nice to check in or ask a colleague to do so if on break. I had to go inside wait by the door until multiple times to order. Really disappointing.

Nice atmosphere, attentive staff and good wine / cocktail selection. Unfortunately the bathrooms were in bad condition with two only being suitable for use l, the only two that could be used had broken locks. Another disappointment was that server wasn’t able to provide information on where any of the cheese was from on our cheese board and didn’t know what one of the cheese was either (perhaps a cheddar) which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise a nice place.

Great wee evening in here drinking gorgeous wine with good pals while snacking on charcuterie and cheese, what more could woman want ! Really nice vibe and good quality wine. The staff were lovely but run off their feet so we were a little bit forgotten but not their fault. Will be back.

Been here a number of times no complaints. But the last time a member of our party noticed we we’re being charged a 10% service charge. We complained it was scrapped. But while at the bar noticed the Negroni was pre-mixed in a large bottle. A lot of us are negroni fans thus the reason for coming there. It didn’t taste the same as before now I know the reason why. A bit rich to try to take 10% service charge for each order. When the cocktails aren’t even being mixed for each order. I can buy a similar product from a supermarket without the service charge. Customers aren’t daft.

Nice bar with great selection of wines and cocktails. I don't like that it is table service only though. We went on a Saturday night and it was quite busy but we still got a table for 4 without booking in advance.

Tried the smoky negroni, which was quite good. Interesting range of wines, will try them next time.

The Square Yard is a steak restaurant located in Glasgow, known for its specialization in Scotch cattle breeds chosen for their exceptional flavor and quality. The restaurant offers a variety of cuts, all aged for 28 days except for the Wagyu boneless rib-eye steak. Situated within 29 Glasgow Club, it provides picturesque views of Royal Exchange Square. A fantastic wee spot, great wee Cafe, could browse the stalls for hours, so much to see and banter is to die for. Thanks for the Glasgow experience.

(Translated by Google) Well, I admit I didn't understand. Walking through this very open-minded market, what a surprise to come across... a Third Reich uniform with a Nazi armband??? On display, in front of the entrance (see image)??? I absolutely don't see what pretext could motivate such a choice. I am deeply shocked and I dare to hope that this awful mannequin and the entire universe it conveys will disappear VERY quickly from The Barras market. Devastated.
