Pub
The Pot Still, located on Hope Street, is a cozy establishment with a warm and inviting atmosphere, featuring wooden furnishings and classic decor. It boasts an extensive collection of over 800 Scotch whiskies, making it a haven for whisky enthusiasts and a must-visit for couples looking to indulge in Scotland's beloved spirit. The pub offers cracking cask ales, proper pies, and friendly staff providing great service.
With over 1000 bottles of whisky, you’ll definitely find a whisky to your liking. Bartender are super friendly in giving recommendations; just let them know your taste pallet profile. Love the decor and ambience. Ever for a weekday, there was a good crowd with both locals and tourist. For some light bar snacks, the pies are delicious and good prices. A true hidden gem for those visiting Glasgow.

Went looking for a decent whiskey bar while in Glasgow city centre for a couple of nights and found an excellent one. I know a decent amount about whiskey and have a collection of around 40 bottles, so I asked the staff to recommend me something. I told them I had no preference as long as they're smooth on the way down. The lady brought me 4 whiskies to choose from and explained them all. I couldn't decide which to try so I bought all 4, and I wasn't disappointed. All 4 were new to me and I was delighted with the recommendations. Great decor and feel. Great atmosphere. Hundreds of bottles to try. Knowledgeable staff who know their drams.

Lovely day in Glasgow, Scotland. Having the opportunity to be here, we decided to explore the city and try to taste whisky as much as we can😊 For today, our first stop is “The Pot Still”. Amazing atmosphere and experience! Very unique and special spot to taste different varieties of whiskies! Staff members are very kind, friendly and knowledgeable about their portfolios!!! Whenever you are in Glasgow you should definitely pass by and don’t miss it!! We had great time and hundred percent sure we will come back!! Many thanks to all the staff!!

This pub boasts an extensive selection of whiskeys. The friendly staff and the tasting menu we enjoyed made our visit truly memorable. The ambiance is simply 10/10, so if you’re a whisky enthusiast or simply looking for a great beer, be sure to visit!

Oh man, Pot Still in Glasgow is like a big, warm hug for whiskey lovers! This cozy pub’s got over loads of whiskies—crazy, From rare gems to bold blends, it’s a total dream. The staff are like your best pals, chatting you through the menu. Whether you’re new to whiskey or a total nerd, you’ll feel right at home. Prices are decent, and you’ll leave buzzing.
Sean K — Google review
The best whiskey pub in Glasgow! A mesmerising array of Scotch whiskies, a great selection of draught beers - local & international and traditional Scottish pies! Friendly, knowledgeable staff + a nice chilled out vibe on weekday early afternoon's but gets very busy in the evenings as expected. This needs to be anyone's go-to place for all of those things. 11/10! 5 stars!
James G — Google review
Nice bar stocked to the ceiling with whiskies. They have a cute mezzanine like second floor with seating. Good selection of beers and ciders as well. We enjoyed hanging out here.
Nathalie — Google review
Exceptional place for both traditional homemade pies at a fabulous price and an exquisite array of whiskeys. There is also a variety of ales and drafts on tap. Old school beautiful comfy feel to the place. The staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about their whiskey and their place of work. A must if you have a passion of the whiskey kind.

Pub
Liquor store
The Bon Accord is a classic pub located near the Mitchell Library, offering a wide selection of over 800 types of ale and showcasing more than 350 bottles of malt whisky. Despite its location overlooking the M8 motorway, it attracts patrons seeking great beer, excellent whisky, and good bar food without the city center crowd. This family-run establishment boasts a timeless atmosphere and is known for its extensive whisky collection and ever-changing cask ale selection.
What a great pub. Very busy and popular when we arrived on Friday night, with lots of tables reserved so I'd suggest planning your trip if there is a group of you. 9 Real Ale Handpumps and 1 cider. 7 of the Real Ales were on and all looked to be Scottish local beers. The two we had were lovely and in great condition. Friendly and good atmosphere, I could have stayed here all night
Ellen T — Google review
Traditional pub with great food we have been coming here for a few years now and the staff and service provided are second to none ! The staff are excellent and the food is cooked to order and always is hot! The prices are reasonable and food choices are great, great food, great drinks and excellent service- what’s not to like!!!
Vanja M — Google review
This pub has been ahead of the game for so long now if you like cask ales. There’s always a varied choice and the quality is as good as you’ll find in Glasgow.
Mark N — Google review
The best tradition pub in Glasgow, the whisky collection is like no other! But most importantly the staff know what’s important, a warm welcome, great hospitality and brilliant conversation. The food is basic, homemade and delicious. If you own a pub, look at how these people run the Bon Accord, it’s a recipe for success. One more thing, with it being a short walk from town, only people who really want to visit make the effort, it keeps all the loons away. Great pub!
John R — Google review
We had an absolute lovely time here! Special shout out to Olivia who provided the Best service for the night! Thank you and we will definitely return in the future!
Jee M — Google review
The pub itself is really nice and the staff was very friendly. The food was also pretty good ( I had a chicken haggis), but it was a shame they didnt have the full menu selection at the time (no burgers and no breakfast). Overall, still highly enjoyable
Subnor G — Google review
Soo many pubs in Glasgow can only do either good food or a mid drink selection/price, almost never botb. But The Bon Accord is my favourite for a reason.

Very nice, warm and lovely place! The staff is very helpful and shares scotch's knowledge with the people! Very recommended!!!

Pub

Event venue
Sloans is a historic venue located in Glasgow, boasting three floors with a Grand Ballroom, an impressive central staircase, and an outdoor courtyard. Established as a coffee house in 1797 on Argyle Street, it has become renowned for its vibrant events and delicious mac 'n' cheese. The charming courtyard offers a perfect setting for enjoying drinks outdoors.
First time in Sloan’s and I knew within half an hour just by drinking at the bar that I fricking love it here! The entertainment with the Irish songs was top notch, beers are great as well - I love how their Scottish lager is brewed locally to German purity laws, so you know it’ll be good! So were the Scottish IPAs and Guinness I came up here for the monthly macaroni themed buffet event. April’s theme was Greek. I won’t pretend the food was the most mind blowing stuff I’ve ever tried, I believe they’re better at being a pub than a restaurant but the food was good and the atmosphere just topped it off. The staff did a great job. It was good enough I took some of the “mystery mac” (which was Greek style mousaka) in a takeaway box. I would 100% come back here on a monthly pilgrimage, and I come all the way from Oxfordshire for the privilege! Yes it really is that good! The historic decor just adds to the charm of what Sloan’s claim is the oldest pub in Glasgow. I’d love to try the other items on the menu as well Please, just go here. Don’t question it, just do it. You’ll be in for a good time one way or another. I wish I didn’t live so far away, I know I’d be a more frequent visitor if I was based near Scotland
Spud M — Google review
Really cool spot in Glasgow. The fish and chips was a really nice portion, and the fish itself nicely cooked. The macaroni was a solid "restaurant mac and cheese" with a clove of crumble toppings. Good local beers, and some musicians played folk music at just the right volume. Well worth a visit and not hard to get to in the city center.
Matthew W — Google review
Good vegan options and they got us seated last minute on Mother’s day! Was a bit pricey overall but maybe typical for Glasgow, there was a service charge added on that we weren’t informed of either despite it feeling like quite an informal pub grub type meal. There was only 3 of us as well so not a big group or anything by any means.
Blathnaid M — Google review
Great pub, stopped in just for a pint. One of the oldest bars in Glasgow, vibrant outdoor patio, clean and well kept inside without losing the authentic and historical feel.
Kyla — Google review
We had a wonderful wedding party here. Beautiful setting, gorgeous lights (by LillyCole Events) and an absolutely stress-free, lovely day. The staff were brilliant — Aimee on the events team and everyone working during the evening. Thank you!
Rachael F — Google review
Last time I was in Sloan's it was 1993 and, just like back then I wasn't disappointed, the decor in every part of this glorious establishment harks back to the past and has been restored and kept in immaculate condition, great atmosphere and friendly locals and regulars,it definitely won't be another 30 years till my next visit 👍

What an incredible historic place to eat, drink, and celebrate with attentive and professional staff, great food, beer, and whisky, and an amazing function room.

Pub
Bar
Laurieston Bar, located on Glasgow's Southside, is a cult institution with a 1960s modern vibe. Despite its vintage appearance, the crowd is diverse in age and the beer selection includes local favorites like Fyne Ales and Jaw Brew ales. The Clutha, as it's also known, has over 200 years of history and features live music every night. Its exterior boasts mural portraits and has attracted famous fans like Billy Connolly and Frank Zappa.
This pub is the opitomie of 'don't judge a book by it's cover'. The outside may not look the most inviting but once you go inside it is a great pub, with a great atmosphere and lots of memorabilia. 3 handpumps all with the local Fyne Ales
Ellen T — Google review
Can never get enough of this bar. Cask ale (Jarl) always on form, bar staff and the regulars are great. Long may it stay this way 🤞
Mark N — Google review
Great old fashioned boozer with classic decor. Middle tap Guinness served at cellar temperature is the best!.
COLD — Google review
Exactly what you want in a traditional Glaswegian bar. It's just a shame that the trendy clientele have taken it over. Loved going in here and seeing the old folk up dancing and having a good laugh.
Gerry — Google review
One of the great pubs in the world, without a shadow of a doubt. You don’t get anymore Glasgow than this place. It’s authentic, unpretentious and unique. Glasgow is lucky to have it.
G B — Google review
Best pub in Glasgow, great Guinness, free jukebox - cash only mind!
Harry D — Google review
Iconic institution with unchanged decor from the sixties. It’s cash only, family run and unpretentious. Limited selection of draught ales but it’s not the drink you come for here, it’s the atmosphere. It might look rough n ready but it’s welcoming and friendly and a glimpse into pubs before the huge corporations took over
Thefirstcut — Google review
Best pub in Glasgow. Three Guinness pumps and the middle is best. McCalls pies and pickled onion Monster Munch get the five stars for food. Every walk of life in here. Hope it’s here for 100 years

Seafood restaurant
Bar
The Finnieston is a casual restaurant and cocktail bar in Glasgow, known for its locally-sourced seafood and bespoke beers. The interior boasts rustic wooden furniture and exposed brick walls, creating a stunning setting to enjoy expertly crafted cocktails alongside inventive and delicious seafood dishes. With a focus on sustainable Scottish seafood, the menu offers steamed Shetland mussels, oysters, sirloin steaks, handmade silken tofu, and an extensive collection of gins.
We recently had our wedding meal and evening reception at The Finnieston and couldn’t be happier with how our day went!! From our first visit to the Oyster Bar as a potential reception venue we knew from speaking with Zoe that this is where we wanted to host our wedding. We were also offered the option to hire their outdoor courtyard for our meal which we knew would work perfectly for our vision. Zoe was so professional, warm and friendly throughout the entire process. She was super communicative on email and would keep us updated with any suggestions from her team as to what they could with for us. Nothing was ever too much and she was so flexible between menu choices, drinks lists, venue decor and set up. On the day itself, the team were incredible and we all felt to well looked after. Despite the unpredictable weather (storm Amy!), Zoe and her team went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and the venue was set up exactly how we had envisioned. The food was absolutely delicious, from bar snacks on arrival to dinner and our evening buffet, we couldn’t be more grateful to the chefs and kitchen team for the food they delivered on the day. Everyone was raving about it. A special thank you also goes to the bar tenders working in the Oyster Bar who were nothing but charming and professional throughout the entire evening. Thank you a million times over to Zoe and everyone else at The Finnieston. We had the BEST time and will hold a special place for this restaurant for years to come. See you again for our first anniversary?!
Kathleen M — Google review
Enjoyed dining at The Finnieston today. It’s got a great atmosphere—exactly what you’d hope for in a British pub that specializes in seafood. I kept it simple and went with the fish and chips. The food was good, the service was quick, and the prices were reasonable. Probably about a 4 out of 5 stars, and I’d be happy to return.
Jerry F — Google review
Unfortunately we had reserved for lunch and were so looking forward to our experience which was lacking to say the least. They had none of the gins I was looking for even after having almost 100 on the menu. Then came ordering food, the waiter didn't write anything down so of course forgot we had ordered 3 Oysters. When our mains came they were what we would call side plates. We really couldn't get out of here quick enough. Sorry but not for me, overpriced and nothing special.
Janice A — Google review
Nice Food, nice bar and friendly staff. My only complaint was the food wasn't really hot? Maybe served on a cold plate speeded that process up, but my steak was warm at best and by the time I was done was actually cold.
Carlinj6 — Google review
This place was absolutely fantastic! If you’re looking for good seafood, this is the place to go! The atmosphere is really nice, staff is amazing, and the food was so good!
Josephine C — Google review
Great little place, very g friendly staff. Good food and excellent atmosphere. Would highly recommend that you stop by for a dinner should you be near.
Jeff W — Google review
We were very excited to return to finnestone after a fabulous previous visit a few years ago. Unfortunately we were quite cold where we were sitting, the waitress forgot to order my trout so my partners food was stone cold by the time mine came. My partners wild boar tasted sour and off. My trout was undercooked. We complained only to be told it was meant to be like that. Absolutely raw?
Hollie H — Google review
We’ve always been fans of The Finniestone and it really helps that they are doggo friendly But we loved our dinner on the Thursday night so much we came back on the Friday lunch when we came through Glasgow on our way on holiday. Both outstanding. Plenty of gluten free options - and one big one worth a mention is the gluten free battered squid - not sure what they make that batter with but it was delicious with a really nice dip. Oysters = amazing - actually had one of the best oysters of my life on the Thursday night. My friend said the same. Seabass ceviche = delicious. Oh the fired mackerel was sooooooo good. I want a fan of the peach thing with it but that’s just me, my hubby loved it. I loved the fennel (I think it was) Mussels both times = banging This place also does the most beautiful New Zealand sauvignon blanc. My hubby and pal LOVED the mac and cheese with brown shrimp in it and a seafood crust. I had a cheeky taste and it was good (I’m gluten intolerant not coeliac). But the good news for coeliac’s is that they have a GF frier! The only thing these guys could do to excel more and we are being really fussy here, would be: GF DF Mac and cheese on the menu - I think it would be popular GF fish supper / fish fingers - opening the option up to a wider audience Oh and my hubby said he would like more of the seafood crust on the Mac and cheese - like a layered vibe. He just really liked the crust. I realise we are being very demanding now - can’t wait to see you next time

Pub
The Horseshoe Bar in Glasgow is a characterful pub with captivating decor, featuring horse sculptures, Roman painted tiles, and a grand island bar. It's known for its eclectic mix of patrons, from old regulars to students and visitors seeking a no-fuss drink in a welcoming Glaswegian atmosphere. Situated near Glasgow Central Station, the pub boasts Europe's longest bar at 104 feet long.
Very excellent experience for a Scottish pub. The fish and chips with mushy peas were very plentiful, delicious and great value. Matthew was very friendly and enjoyed talking with him!
Titancookie — Google review
We went to the Horseshoe bar for some authentic atmosphere and food. It was good, you have to order at the bar and pay before getting anything. I understand it makes it easier for the staff. The food comes down from upstairs. It was great. They have a Guinness Stew and Fish and chips. The rest is American food. They were very friendly.
Matsler C — Google review
It has a horseshoe-shaped island bar, which makes it the longest bar in the UK. It's in all the tourist guides, but when we were there on a Thursday evening it seemed that we were the only people who weren't locals. A good place to hang out, with a range of beers, but they were mainly from England and I wouldn't go there looking for local craft beers.
Peter C — Google review
Great bar- we visited while on holiday in Scotland and had heard about the "longest bar" so wanted to come and see it. Turned out it was a great decision! The atmosphere is very lively with plenty of locals- we felt like we had a real Scottish experience. A special shoutout to Thomas, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. His recommendations were spot on, and his service really made us feel at home. If you’re in Glasgow, this is a must-visit spot!
Primm P — Google review
As an exiled Glaswegian I returned to my favourite iconic pub for a pie and a pint. The beer was great but unfortunately the ‘peely Wally’ pie was a disaster! Gone was the pie oven on the bar (probably health & safety) replaced by a dumb waiter. More importantly the so called pie was crust and pastry with a teaspoonful of filling for the princely sum of £2.60! Please, please change your supplier and revert back to a proper greasy Glasgow pie which actually tasted of something and everyone loved and waxed lyrically about.
Iain G — Google review
Big thanks to Gavin for his top-tier service and even better sense of humour! He managed to make my very first day in Glasgow feel warmer than a double shot of whisky. Between the laughs and the welcome, I’m not sure if I booked a trip or adopted a new Scottish pal. Cheers, Gavin — you’re a legend 👌🏼
Lachlan F — Google review
It's a lovely historic building with plenty of atmosphere. Unfortunately on the day I visited the cask ale selection was very ordinary. The pint I had was very well kept but bland and lacking in flavour. I prefer beers with a bit more oomph!
Mary D — Google review
Great looking pub downstairs, with the 'longest bar in the UK'. It was absolutely rammed when we went at lunchtime on a Friday so we sat upstairs in the restaurant instead. Probably 4 real ales but they were spread out on the busy bar so I don't think we saw them all. The two we had were good. Food was good and very cheap in a 2 for £11 deal

Great late night music and beer/beverage stop. Only downside was it closing at 11pm regardless the music was fun the patrons were part of it all that made this place, at least for me, a repeat place to go

A wonderfully iconic pub on the banks of the river River Clyde at the junction of Stockwell St and Clyde St. A legendary place to many in Glasgow cos of the terrible night in 2013 when a Police helicopter crashed onto the roof causing multiple deaths. Like a Phoenix the pub slowly rose again to become a live music venue for every genre. It has a great food menu with the ever present offer of a Pizza and a Pint for £9. The interior is not fancy but has a wonderful, welcoming warmth . The staff are fantastic. A must see venue. One visit and it will call you back.😊🎤🥁🎶

The Duke's Umbrella is a charming gastropub located in Glasgow city center, offering a creative twist on traditional pub classics, including vegan options. The establishment prides itself on its delicious mocktails such as the Cucumb-here Often?, Berry Cooler, and Spiced Spritzer. With a focus on food, patrons can enjoy dishes like charcoal spiced cod and slow-braised smoked ox cheek, along with bar snacks ranging from duck crackling to Cumbrae oysters.
I can't say enough about this place. One of the best meals we had in our 10 day trip to Scotland. Great Thursday night live music during dinner. Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside the vibe is really great. Loved it. Would definitely return.

We came here on my 38th birthday. The food was excellent as was the Organic wine we had. We shared a Haggis Quesadilla to start. It was quite large you could have it as a main. I actually preferred this to the main we had. We then moved onto the Haggis Neeps & Tatties each as our main. It was great. Not 100% traditional but a nice modern twist on it. We spend £81 in total for 2 people to have a 2 course meal with a bottle of wine. That's fairly reasonably priced.

Duke's Umbrella in Glasgow is a must-visit for anyone seeking elevated comfort food with a daring, innovative edge. Our recent meal there was brilliant and proved that traditional dishes can still be surprising! The Butter Chicken Pot Pie was the undeniable star of the show. This dish is a stroke of genius; served with an innovative marriage of rich, deeply satisfying Indian cuisine and traditional British comfort cooking. It was perfectly spicy, with every bite amazing. While the prep time was slightly longer, the complex flavors were entirely worth the wait. We also sampled the classics, which were given a fun Scottish twist. The Bangers and Mash featured sausages infused with haggis. The Chicken Supreme lived up to its name. It truly felt like the penultimate chicken dish, with every taste reinforcing the core, delicious chicken flavor. Duke’s Umbrella delivers on both comfort and inventive flair. The flawless execution made it a standout dining experience in Glasgow. Highly, highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic experience at The Duke’s Umbrella! The service was outstanding friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in. The staff clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows in every detail. And the food wow. Do yourself a favor and order the steak pie. It’s easily one of the best I’ve ever had: rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked with that beautiful flaky pastry on top. Everything else we tried was excellent too, but the steak pie is the star of the show. The Duke’s Umbrella has such a warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re visiting Scotland or live nearby, this place is a must-visit. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

I made a last-minute reservation for a mid-afternoon lunch. Best decision I’ve made during my trip to Glasgow! Paula, the hostess/waitress, was so friendly and welcoming. Gave me great descriptions of the food and make me feel like I was family. They had the Lonesome Whistles playing some fun tunes. The atmosphere and decor was so cozy! I love the pea and ham soup with soft warm sourdough bread. I got the Iberico pork with chips. Flavors were top-notch! Will visit again next time I’m around!

Actual wonder if most of these reviews are just done by friends of the owners. We were so excited to go there for our date night. Waited about 50 mins for our meal to come out. So at this point we were hoping that at least the food will be worth waiting for. NOPE. Partner got a haggis lasagne, kid you not smallest lasagne you can ask for and it costs £22, absolute robbery. And the fact that it barely had any taste to it as well. What a joke. You would think it's some Michelin Star lasagne 🤣 I got vegan, haggis, neeps and tatties. I'll give them that, vegan haggis and neeps were lovely. Mash was absolutely dry and tasteless. Mac and cheese was once again with no flavour whatsoever. Don't know if the chef had a bit of a cooking wobble. Expected so much from this place based on the reviews. But honestly if you can cook, just make your own meal at home and save yourself a lot of money. The prices are a joke for food that isn't worth that kind of money. I would get it if it tasted unreal. But unfortunately it just wasn't good at all. Gutted that we waited for so long as we had to leave and never tried sticky toffee pudding which I was very much looking forward to. Date night ruined, we were both so looking forward to this. But yeah it was just extremely disappointing.

The devilled crab was spectacular! 🦀 I tried the Haggis and Tatties. My passion fruit lemonade was tasty. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was delicious, the best I've had so far! 🤩 I highly recommend!

We were looking for a Scotish restaurant during our last night in Glasgow and we decided on this. We were not disappointed. This place is where we tried haggis for the first time and it was surprisingly really good. The steak I had was also really good. Overall it was worth it.

Came here 2 days ago for the boozy brunch it was exceptional!!! Alex our server was absolutely amazing, so friendly and incredibly attentive! He would keep a close eye on us ready to bring more cocktails! The food was exceptional and cocktails were some of the best we've tasted (customer service was fantastic grill wasn't working so no burgers that day, without asking they took money off the bill as an apology - above and beyond!) we will certainly be returning here and we can't recommend the place highly enough!!! Thanks Alex for a memorable day x

Great sports bar for students. Firstly before you arrive get the Mixr app and link your UNiDAYS account to it, you will get £3.25 pints which is very solid for town. The outdoor seating area is pretty excellent here, lots of seats on the lower and upper deck with tellies everywhere. Great on a sunny day. Pool table inside and outside, not great quality cues and cloths but good enough to play some drunk pool. Good venue for big groups, lots of booths inside and very big space in general. Never usually too busy, but the line for the bar can often be very long. Decent enough food, just happened to be there on wing Wednesday which meant 50p wings. Not bad for the price. But if you are not getting the deals then everything is pretty overpriced. Primarily good for students and utilising the deals, if you don’t you’ll be paying an arm and a leg. Very nice staff and never had any bother in the place, but you can tell a lot of people go there to get rowdy. Overall not bad!

Big pub with a great atmosphere. 8 handpumps for real ale, just a shame that most were bog-standard pints you can get anywhere in the UK. We had food here which was a good price for the quality and we really enjoyed it. Very busy on a football game day, but still a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the first pint we had was off, but the bar staff were very friendly and understanding when I took it back to the bar, the head barman took the beer off instantly and offered us fresh pints, 10/10 service

Steak pie used to be brilliant. Puff pastry and hot. Our veg was cold, mash was from a preheat or mash pack. Brake food suspecyed. Hadn't been for ages, but this place has got the enshitification process completed. Not only that, when my mother (who it's her birthday meal) complained she was told someone would come back to speak with her. No one came. This is so bad I'm actually going to start my own review website as it is very difficult to find a place that hasn't enshitified yet. Also, the prices are no clear and when you ask you get the wrong prices. When queried I was gas lighted. After that I was beyond complaining. However my mother was really annoyed especially when they didn't have the decency to come back and talk to her.

Special shout out to Michelle who manages to keep her smile on for you no matter the weather 😊

What an excellent find this place was. Took the kids along with friends and their kids on a Saturday evening. Had the salt and chili prawns to start which were really tasty followed by steak frites which is their offer on a Saturday night - £12 for a perfectly cooked steak with peppercorn sauce and a healthy portion of fries on the side. Outstanding value. Best thing about this place though was the service. Really friendly staff who were excellent with the kids. We were made to feel really welcome. Looking at their menu, they have lots of offers on most nights of the week. We will definitely be back!

We had the beef Sunday roast dinner and a side dish of cauliflower cheese and it was superb as was the service, both barman/servers were excellent, couldn't fault it, Thank you! Revised 11/07/25 Got the lasagna and a beef burger both £12 both absolutely dire the lasagna looked like it was cooked by chef Mike (microwaved) super tomatoey and lacking any herbs, beef mince and bechamel sauce. Served with 'garlic bread' white was an everyday sliced loaf zero garlic butter on that toast. The burger was super dry and was and half the size of a normal beef patty, the chips were cheap frozen and way undercooked and taste of fish.... cooking the chips in the oil used to cook the fish? We won't be back..Spoons blows this place out of the water and that's saying something.

Visited on a Thursday afternoon, on a whim and I am so glad I stopped in. Extremely dog friendly pub with great food and wide selection of spirits to warm one up of a brisk afternoon. The Cullen Skink was excellent, served with ample buttered bread. But the atmosphere is what I loved, it simply feels like a traditional pub. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Overall experience was quite bad. Walked in and said I had a table to be stared at and had to repeat three times my reservation name for them to walk past and not tell us to follow. Ordered the food and when it came the size of the chicken I received was ridiculously small and the beef was so dry. The roast potato’s absolutely were frozen cheap ones. Gravy was water and flavourless as with the rest of both the meals as well as dry and cold. The food eas not edible, we were not up for forcing ourselves to eat food that was completely not enjoyable. Me and my partner were excited for this meal all week for our date night. We asked for a refund on the whole meals. It came to £56.00 for a shandy, j20, two roast dinners and a side of cauliflower cheese. Only to receive a refund of 42.00. Wasn’t up for explaining ourselves anymore so we left. Definitely advise not to go here for the food.

The Scotia Bar, located on Stockwell Street in Glasgow, is a historic establishment claiming to be the city's oldest pub, dating back to 1792. The bar exudes old-world charm with its timbered frontage, wood paneling, and dark wooden benches under low ceilings. It has been a hub for folk music and live performances by renowned artists like Billy Connolly and Gerry Rafferty.
The Scotia Bar in Glasgow is a historic gem, recommended by locals. The history of this place is obvious from the moment you walk in with the dollars hanging from the bar ceiling and the worn wood bar. They have a great selection of whisky, and I recommend trying the dram of the month, or check with one of thethe friendly bartenders who are always ready with a great recommendation. If you have a case of the munchies, order the “Pizza & Pint” deal. It’s a limited pizza menu, but does what it needs to do. There are regular live music performances, so plan according, or just show up for a surprise.

The State Bar is a traditional pub located in the city center, featuring high ceilings and a circular central wooden bar. The interior boasts dark green leather banquettes and pewter tankards hanging from the bar. Despite its classic appearance, the pub offers an impressive selection of seven well-maintained real ales, including options from Thwaites, Cameron's, and regularly featuring Oakham beers. Visitors can also enjoy live stand-up comedy on weekends and blues music every second Tuesday at 8 pm.
Such a great pub; to my mind the best in Glasgow. There's always a great, well chosen, selection of cask beers and it is uniformly well kept. Prices are great for Glasgow (£4.65 for any cask beer, no matter the abv, £5.50 when there's a keg line on, including real treats like Polly's). And the decor is fab too...proper old school Glaswegian boozer interior - dark wood, island bar. Friendly staff, reliably good beer, central location that is always easy to pop in on when you're in town for other things. I've done a lot of 'research' on Glasgow pubs - trust me, this is one not to miss.

A fantastic traditional Glasgow pub. We always visit when in town. Great atmosphere and a good selection of ales.

Brilliant bar in the centre of town. We went for the Blues jam (alternate Tuesdays). Beers were excellent - the houseband were tight and skilled. A good selection of musicians in the crowd including yours truly on vocals and harmonica. Very friendly bar staff and customers. A must visit for blues music fans. Beautiful interior. Great night.
Ken P — Google review
Very nice pub but often a poor selection of cask ales. Every time I have been in, the selection is mostly pale ales. Very little variety, in comparison to other pubs with cask ales. This is quite a shame, as this is a pub I would love to enjoy and frequent; however I often find myself leaving after one or two drinks, unsatisfied. Hopefully in future, the selection will be more broad and tailored to different taste palates.

Visited here on Saturday, wonderful step back in time, traditional bar. The beer & service was perfect, didn't eat so can't comment on that. The decor was very interesting. No loud music, perfect for a Saturday afternoon, just talk and we only left because we had to be somewhere else. Will definitely return.

The service here is so good especially if not sure what to try. A true classic of a Glasgow bar which should not be missed.

This bar is so good. Beer is very dependable. Always my 1st port of call when in Glasgow and yet to be let down.
Lee R — Google review
Sad to say the beautiful, well-maintained and historic pub was let down by a frumpy staff member with zero customer service skills. You would think she had gained enough experience in life and in the trade to know how to properly interact with patrons. I asked for “a pint of lager please” which in most places means the house lager, but instead I got “What lager, we have lots.” Jeez oh. I asked for the cheapest and was told “We are not a cheap pub, if you want cheap it is not here.” I said I would take whatever the cheapest is, which turned out to be Tennents. After a few minutes I was served a cold pint of Tennents, which was great, but with no head whatsoever. £4.90. Fine. I would happily pay extra if it could go towards getting this staff member etiquette lessons before she retires. I ordered another pint, thought I’d be funny and told her “I’ll pay with another card to spread the cost”. She never cracked a smile and just said “Aye that’s a good idea”. Touché.

The venue provides ample space for both dogs and their owners, creating a must-visit destination for dog lovers in the city.
From the warm welcoming atmosphere to the delicious food I cannot recommend this little find enough! Huge thank you to Sophie ,Brandon and Sammie for their chat and recommendations! 10/10 will be back asap!!

Really disappointing to see the changes to this pub since the owners changed. It used to be a cosy, nicely decorated pub with a great roast dinner. It’s now been changed to more of a sports bar. The roast dinner was much smaller, of a lower quality and the price significantly higher. I used to bring all visitors here for a traditional, cosy Sunday roast experience but will be looking for a new regular spot.
Abbey B — Google review
Excellent Sunday roast, lovely cosy atmosphere with the fires burning next to us. Staff were excellent, so accommodating on a very busy day. We had the beef sirloin, would definitely recommend as the quality of the meat was very good. Also, a nice simple menu - just three roasts all priced at £20. Would definitely visit again, thanks!

Absolutely lovely, the place felt welcoming as soon as we entered! Nice rustic look, great service (sadly didn't catch the name of our server) and the food was so amazing I was tempted to lick my plate clean. Definitely recommending their sausages and mash and pulled brisket fries. Going to tag this place on my map so I won't forget to visit again!

More well known for its food and Sunday roast dinners it’s a slightly different style of bar. Very discreet and low key. If your looking for somewhere you can converse or catch your thoughts I would recommend. Barman very friendly and a homely vibe

Amazing experience in this modern twist on a traditional Scottish pub. The staff are really passionate about the drinks they make and toasties were to die for too. Some of the best cocktails we've had in Glasgow!

Visited for the first time in years for their whisky Weekender event with Sebbs and Highland park and absolutely loved it. Whisky was excellent and great value for the ticket, food pairings from Sebbs were delicious, but the chat and service provided by Andy & the team are what makes the Gate so standout - you're not a customer, you're a warmly welcomed guest. Easily one of the best bars in Glasgow

Diners can indulge in delights like Perthshire venison casserole paired with honey-roasted root vegetables or savor the rich flavors of Cullen Skink.
We were a party of 7 who dined last night for the first time at this lovely restaurant. The service was so friendly and attentive and the food was cooked to perfection. Some of our party had the special which was ribeye - they said it was 10/10. Everyone really enjoyed the food! I had the pork belly to start and beef shin for main and both were amazing. The drinks were reasonably priced and overall it was a lovely night. The only small thing was, we were celebrating a very special birthday and had mentioned it to the waiter but it wasn’t acknowledged. Special mention for the olives! They were delicious:) We look forward to returning.

Although it's a small restaurant, the environment n service is fantastic. Its environment n waitresses are really nice. I ordered Its salad n steak. The look of its salad is really good n tastes fantastic. However, the steak was over done. When I told them, they replaced me a plate of really good steak which I look forward. I chose Rose with the salad n steak were really matched with each other. In the order all, this was the best meal I have in Edinburgh or Glasgow

It's not the first time. We come to celebrate special occasion. Every food we tried so far has been tasty and no complaints. The portion size towards the smaller side but i still enjoy it. It feels good to finish a 3 course meal without feeling like over fed and can't move. I order the scallops for starters and monkfish for mains and boozy affogato to end my meal.
Diya B — Google review
Absolutely loved it here! My partner booked for my birthday dinner and it was perfect. Really small restaurant in the west end of Glasgow, but it was packed! Every one I speak to about FT has only good things to say about this place. Portion sizes are decent as well. For starters we had scallops and veggie fritters, which were surprisingly delightful. For mains we had Venison and Duck - both equally tasty. For dessert we had peach and thyme sponge and the chocolate delice with ginger mousse - both unreal. You can tell they put a lot of effort into their menus, keeping it seasonal, Scottish, and interesting.

Great atmosphere. I had the chicken with black pudding and it was amazing. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Glasgow.

Located in the vibrant West End of Glasgow, The Butchershop Bar & Grill is a stylish steakhouse with a Manhattan-style ambiance. The restaurant prides itself on serving top-quality Scottish beef, expertly prepared and offered at reasonable prices. Their menu features an array of delectable dishes, complemented by an extensive wine selection from around the globe. With its chic decor, including leather booths and warm lighting, The Butchershop provides a cozy and inviting atmosphere for any dining occasion.
January 3rd I recently had the pleasure of dining at Butchers Shop Bar and Grill, and what a fantastic experience it was! From the very start, enjoying a refreshing cocktail aperitif set the tone for a superb evening. The olives and patron peppers were deliciously salt-coated, offering the perfect start to our meal. For starters, I indulged in tiger prawns and loin, which were first-class. Although I personally wished there was more than one prawn, the taste was impeccable and left us excited for the main course. The rib-eye steak that followed was a true highlight—massive, perfectly cooked, and served with delightful sides of onion rings, mac and cheese, and triple-cooked chips. It was a feast that ensured no one left the table hungry. My wife had the fillet and our friends the chateaubriand all cooked as well ad my own Unable to find room for dessert, we opted instead for the exquisite Espresso Martini, which capped off the meal beautifully. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the restaurant staff went above and beyond to accommodate us at another table, allowing us to relish our time with good friends and more cocktails. The evening was certainly on the pricier side, yet it was worth every penny. The service from all four staff members who attended to us was exemplary, contributing significantly to our tremendous dining experience. Hats off to Butchers Shop Bar and Grill for creating such a warm and memorable evening!

For me this has to be hands down the best steakhouse I have ever been to, I booked me and my partner a table on a Monday night for her birthday with a note on the booking letting them know it was her birthday. All staff in the restaurant were absolutely amazing and didn't make a big fuss for her birthday and wished her a happy birthday and even gave us a card which was a small gesture but absolutely appreciative. Our waiter for the night was Steven and I cannot put into words how amazing he was, he walked us through the menu, brought a board with all the cuts of steak and showed us how big they are, what cuts would be best for us etc etc, he was absolutely unreal throughout the night and kept checking up and had really good conversations with us through the night even though Steven let us know that they were short staffed. The food was absolutely sublime and beyond any steak we've ever had and the sides were no slouch either which we absolutely loved. Overall I cannot recommend the butchershop high enough. Thank you for making my partners birthday amazing and letting us take home our leftovers

Went the evening of Saturday, Oct 4th. It was our last night in Scotland and wanted to do something special. Everything from the drinks to the desserts were great. We both had the fillet with mashed potatoes, along with the green beans and cauliflower cheese. We also ordered the table bread which came with butter and olive oil. My friend ordered the gin bramble while I had the Sauvignon Blanc and also a glass of the Cabernet. For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding and the strawberry vanilla cheesecake. Max was our server and he was fantastic! Highly recommend if you are in the Glasgow area!

Very, very nice location. We came here to try the famous Sunday Roast and were not disappointed. The quality of the food was exceptional and the quantity too; however, what really blew us away was the quality and promptness of the service. Starting from the person who greeted us at the entrance, to each of the three waiters in the area where our table is located, they were all exquisite, prompt, very kind, and super attentive to every detail. We have rarely found a restaurant with such a high level of service, which alone makes the experience worthwhile. To which is obviously added the excellent quality of the food. A beautiful surprise and a place to return to next time we come to Glasgow.

Had some trouble with online booking but they got me a table ahead of the Friday dinner service before a concert. Food was excellent, bartender made an awesome martini, and service was spectacular.

Lovely restaurant inside but very difficult parking in the area. Took me 40 min driving in circles to find evan a questionable spot. Food was decent enough but we all felt it was rather overpriced...£200 for 3 people with no starter or dessert and only two alcoholic drinks? That's a joke. The time it took between courses was farcical too. 55 minutes??!! Really??!! Where was the kitchen? Spain? The table opposite, 4 "lads" were incredibly loud and vulgar. It sounded like a football match with the level of swearing. So loud in fact we could hold no real conversation ourselves without shouting like we were in a nightclub. The staff were disinterested at best. We always leave a generous tip except where a service charge is levied automatically. How assumptive and rude? We also never return to restaurants who expect a service charge but provide zero quality service...we will never return.

Came here after hearing such good things about it. Brought my child along, the service was lovely and staff were friendly and inviting. The food was a little disappointing though, the roast came out cold and lacked flavour in some food items. Lovely welcoming family friendly pub restaurant 🩷 sat us next to roaring fire just as the snow came on outside. Server Kerry was amazing. Miss her already! Made such a fuss over our boys even helped the wee one with his jacket as he was getting tangled 😂 Nashville burger for hubby which he said was perfect. Mine was my usual hunters chicken. It was quite dry and didn’t like flavour of fries. I get this dish every time I go out so maybe I am spoiled by our local where chicken cooked to perfection. Boys had medium rump steak which was perfect size for them and they devoured every bite! Halloumi fries fantastic and all served really quickly! Plenty parking. 2025 3rd visit this year. It appears The White Cart has a new team front and back of house tbh keeping 5*'s leaves for no room for improvement and today there were some issues and i guess most would downgrade the stars, however not a chance with me. The manager and one other server were on shift and I guess the kitchen was stretched, so there was 20/30 minutes delay to table again not an issue as my guests and I are never in a rush at The White Cart. I spoke with the manager and he told me there was almost no pre-bookings as such the staffing level on bar/service and kitchen was arranged accordingly. I kinda was adding to the strain on the staff as I never book ahead i mostly do walk-in. Every issue was rectified while onsight completely, I totally got the situation. The manager saw the post lunch footfall as a people carrier size of diners booked , then a coach load of walk-ins arrive in a constant stream ( my party on top🤪). That's stepping up...... 5*'s all day long. I didn't get any names but I'll add them on my next visit. And let's face it you never really know how adaptable a hospitality venue is until there are minor issues, that if not address can snowball. Really impressive reactive live, adjustments to the dynamic fluidity of today's visit. Gr8 work . .I've been visiting The White Cart since I moved to Scotland in 2014, I've moved away from Busby, but 4 or 5 times a year, I fetch back , and this is always on my itinerary. Love it.

Porter & Rye is a stylish restaurant with New York influences, offering a menu featuring dry-aged beef and creative cocktails. Located in Finnieston, it has quickly become a standout in the city's culinary scene. The quality of the steaks is highly praised, with 42-day aged cuts described as tender, succulent, and flavorful. The restaurant is known for its exceptional service and intimate ambiance.
Can I give this place an ♾️/5 stars? 🥹 This restaurant was an absolute highlight in Glasgow. I think a Sunday roast elsewhere is absolutely ruined for me because the one I tried here almost had me in tears it was so good. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants around the world and I’ve hardly ever found one that has such a well thought out menu. Every single aspect of every dish is intentional, something you can tell with every bite. Not only was the Sunday roast fantastic but I also shared half with my boyfriend, so we could try both the roast and their steak and oh my word, it was a revelation. The steak was seasoned to perfection. I normally don’t eat steak as cooked through as this one was but it was just so tender and so flavorful, that it was a knockout. Everything else we ordered from the drinks to the appetizers to dessert was just so delicious, I could hardly accept that it was over at the end of the night. Truly, this was a mind blowing experience, only enhanced by the absolute friendliness and attention to detail of the staff. They worked hard to accommodate us, even when we hadn’t made a reservation. They are the standard for how customer service should be done. Both my boyfriend and I cannot recommend this place enough, we left so so happy 😍
AnaIsabel B — Google review
Outstanding food - genuinely one of the best steaks we have ever had, so tender and cooked very well. We really enjoyed our meal, and we will definitely be back! All staff members we encountered were friendly, attentive and on the ball with everything! I love when you go somewhere that can be seen to be quite high end and fancy, and you get down to earth friendly service staff. I always appreciate it so much. My only thing is that we got sat in the upstairs right at the speaker, it was quite noisy for the vibe, the waitress was understanding, and moved us. I’d also say the second table wasn’t ideal either but wasn’t noisy, we really fancied a seat at the window. I’d also say, I feel this place needs more chilled music, it was really bad music and cover versions that just weren’t good. I’d have liked to have seen different desserts too, maybe a wee cheesecake, crumble or fudge cake. Most weren’t to my taste. But generally we were very impressed. Loved it! Thanks for a lovely evening :)

The quality, flavour & price makes this place a must. We ordered Bavette steak with Port & gorgonzola blue dip, Rump steak with Bone Marrow & Black Truffle Butter, Lamb Tatiki, Garlic & Lemon Mixed Greens, Beef Dripping Chips, Truffle & Parmesan Fries and Miso Foraged Mushrooms & Crispy Shallots. Everything was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Each dish can be altered for gluten-free dairy-free etc. The staff were very nice and attentive. I will definitely be back to try more on the menu.

We stumbled upon this restaurant after enjoying the day in Glasgow and I am so happy we did. It has a twos story dining area with perfect lighting. The service was fantastic and they helped us pick the best options. The butter that went with the steak was perfect for the meal. If you're in Glasgow, come to Porter & Rye, it is worth it. If I am ever visit Scotland again, I want to eat here!

Loved every single thing at Porter and Rye! Initially, we were running late due to traffic and the person on the phone offered to change our booking time to allow us to still go & have enough time for our meal. Me and my friend got the Friday deal and got one of the starters. My friend doesn’t have alcohol & they were happy to change the drink for a non-alcoholic one. The steak tartare starter was unreal!! Then the steak & sides arrived, a fantastic portion for a deal and everything cooked to perfection. Everything we had was so flavorful and the high quality. It was my birthday and the restaurant offered me a birthday sweet & prosecco along with desert that we ordered which you could tell was made fresh. The service was excellent, Rachel and the team took the best care of us & really felt spoiled. The atmosphere was also perfect, felt very intimate & calm. If we could give more stars we would. A big thank you!!

We ended with amazing desserts and a beautiful 10 year tawny port.

Came here for my birthday and had a lovely meal. We shared a porterhouse which we ordered medium rare but would say it was definitely on the rare side. It was still tasty and great quality but just not quite cooked how we’d have preferred it. The chips were excellent and the staff really friendly and accommodating as we came with our baby boy in his pram. . The wine was great but the rhubarb cocktail I ordered was quite disappointing, it didn’t taste of rhubarb at all.

Scottish restaurant
Stravaigin, a restaurant with a name derived from an old Scots word meaning "to wander aimlessly with intent," offers gourmet dishes made from unconventional ingredients like grey squirrel, hedgerow herbs, and sea urchins. Since its opening in 1994, the restaurant has been known for its experimental flavors and sustainable sourcing of local and global ingredients.
We got caught in the rain during our visit of the Glasgow university buildings, and just picked a spot that was nearby. It turned out to be a very positive surprise as we came along this lovely Scottish restaurant. It was a bit crowded but luckily we got a table and enjoyed some amazing dishes and drinks. It is a bit more on the pricy side, however you get amazing dishes for your money and very attentive service.

We had a reservation at Stravaigin last night for a business dinner during a work trip to Glasgow. One of our guests was travelling with their dog, and according to the website, dogs are welcome on the ground floor. Since there’s a quiet and comfortable area downstairs that seemed suitable for a business meal, we made our booking with a clear note stating that we’d be bringing a dog and that it was a business occasion. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told that our table had been booked upstairs—where dogs aren’t allowed. When we pointed this out, the staff checked and confirmed that our note had indeed been included in the reservation, but it had simply been overlooked. Mistakes happen, and we understand that. However, by the time we arrived, there were no free tables left in the quieter area on the ground floor. Instead of making an exception and allowing the dog upstairs in light of their own mistake, we were asked to wait and were eventually seated in the very loud pub area. It was far from suitable for a professional conversation. Sorry Stravaigin, but we communicated everything clearly in advance—both the business context and the presence of a dog. If that information is ignored, the customer shouldn't have to bear the consequences. A customer-focused solution would have been the right thing to do. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend Stravaigin for business dining or for situations that require flexibility or accountability.

After a recommendation form a friend my husband and I went here for lunch. We were up in Glasgow visiting family. The food was absolutely fantastic and really tasty. Service was really good and they gave us some good recommendations of things to try. We didn't feel rushed and the atmosphere was really nice. We will definitely be coming here again next time we are up.

What a great experience visiting Stravagin! Food and team were stunning. We had a table for three tucked high in the mezzanine… we all loved that location and will be asking to be sat there again. 2 of our party ate from the Sunday roast menu… for starters… soup of the day which was extremely flavourful, and seared cauliflower with hazelnuts and curry leaves… I highly recommend this dish it was delicious! These were followed by the roast rump of beef, which was tender and cooked to perfection, and all the accompanying vegetables cooked perfectly, special mention for the hispi cabbage … and the onion purée. Our other diner chose the a la carte menu… grilled sardines to start cooked to perfection.., followed by a loin of venison cooked to perfection. We forced ourselves to have dessert…none of which disappointed. Fantastic crème brulle, and a velvety chocolate cremaux, and i really enjoyed the quirky serving of Brie with brioche and onion chutney. Can’t wait to return to this gem of a Glasgow restaurant again soon. Well done to all the team.

We had a nice evening here catching up with our friends. It has a cosy vibe and I like the decorations. Great selection of drinks/cocktails. There were quite a few things on the menu I wanted to try. Have to say the food was pretty tasty, and we enjoyed it! Only thing, huge wait between starters and main (over an hour). Our food had got lost in the kitchen, but to be fair they knocked off all our starters which was a really nice gesture and appreciated. Thank you for that! I did feel the service could have been a little bit more attentive at times. Also I didn’t really enjoy the dessert - the cookie was cold and not what I expected. I was expecting a hot cookie and icecream, felt like I couldn’t say because didn’t want to be hard work after they knocked those starters off. The ox bitterballens were sooo good! As I say, the food was really tasty! My boyfriend and friends enjoyed their dishes too.

Could not recommend highly enough! We booked the cellar for our wedding celebration and from the first contact, everything has been perfect! Jade was so lovely and helpful in helping us get everything sorted before it - nothing was too much trouble. On the day, Olivia got the room ready for us and it was perfect and ensured we had everything we needed all night. The food was incredible and all our guests loved it - everyone kept talking about the mussels!! But what made our night truly special was the staff! The service was absolutely brilliant! The cherry on the cake was the gigantic tiramisu for dessert which was amazing! We can’t wait to be back! Thank you again for everything 🩷

Amazing food, we went there for a birthday celebration. The muscles were super fresh, great pork belly and probably the best haggis we've ever tried. Our server was super helpful in making our choices without being pushy for any item. I only have one thing to fault the restaurant, and it's that they didnt put on the menu that there was an added 10% service charge. We would have left a tip otherwise. However, really good experience overall.
Alberto M — Google review
Tried out Stravaigin after being recommended and it did not disappoint. Had the mussels with the red sauce and it was the best part of the meal . Had some starters and haggis which unexceptional. Was a bit disappointed in the ice cream of the day - it was an oat meal cream with an oat biscuit, not the best combination but probably a poor choice of dessert on our part . Great selection of whisky , with a whisky menu which I believe is new . They didn’t have the whisky I wanted but the staff were kind enough to recommend one and even price match to the one I had initially asked for! I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu . Great interiors btw

Had an amazing time. Very cost vibe. Went there with a friend and we both left super happy. Had the drinks and some fries, very sad to not try the other food as we were not that hungry. But we vibed on the drinks and chatted and it was so comfortable. The staff is lovely. Happy faces and smiles. Will definitely come back.

Stopped in for a full breakfast, which was amazing -- and then I got to make my own Bloody Mary! Usually I prefer to leave mixology to the pros but I got a double gin before adding exactly the hot sauce, spices, and garnishes I wanted. Perfect with breakfast.

This bookclub bar had great vibes and an awesome Photo Booth that my friend and I definitely abused LOL. The drinks were pretty cheap and there was ping pong, Pac-Man, pool, and board games. People of all ages were here and the staff were great! Very vibey little place, totally recommend for a good gossip sesh!

An absolutely adorable spot that has incredible food and a cool vibe. We arrived right when they opened, which is why I suspect it took so long for our food, but it was mostly worth the wait. The staff was also very nice. I hope to return soon

Big time fan of the bookclub since it opened. Try and beat my high scores on PAC man. Enjoy some table tennis for free. Food is great with the chicken and waffles option that seems to be a weegie delicacie. Great tunes and layout. Got very trendy later on with the "it" crowd. Great for food and drinking and socialising.

Came for a hen party for our F1 mad bride to be. I contacted the venue ahead of time to ask if they could put the F1 on for us and they couldn’t be more friendly in the correspondence. When we arrived, we were placed in front of the biggest screens to maximise our viewing and they let us put some small decor up. Our server offered to take group photos and we were never without a drink. Defo recommend the boozy slushies. Food was yummy although large portions! We felt well looked after from initial contacting to leaving and would defo be back. Highly recommend for sporty stag/hen parties.

Popped in for a bite and a pint and was impressed. The bar staff and chef were some of the friendliest and most thoughtful I’ve encountered—welcoming, attentive, and incredibly accommodating of gluten-free needs (they have gluten-free buns!). The atmosphere was inviting with great vibes all around.

Surprisingly great afternoon tea - really delicious. The inside isn’t the most comfortable or warm, but the drinks, food and service are great. I’d happily come back here!

We decided this was going to be our next port of call for somewhere new. It definitely didn't disappoint. We had no booking although it was early enough and got a table no problem.🙏 the menu was great, lots of choice and the food was very, very good, in particular the lamb, seabas and the chorizo stew 😋 cooked to perfection. The staff were very lovely with just the right attentiveness. We shared 6 tapas loads, and we had no room for dessert 😀. The reason I didn't give it a 5 star was the decor . There was something missing, maybe more colour or a different type of lighting. I couldn't quite put my finger on it ( the candels and fishtank were a nice added touch though) Decent prices. GO
Clare F — Google review
This is a place that serves Spanish tapas. While the paella was enjoyable, the sweet potatoes and prawns were rather average. The menu is somewhat limited, and a few of the main dishes were unfortunately unavailable during our visit. Service could be improved, the waiter appeared inexperienced, often needing to consult the manager for basic requests such as seating, menus, and the bill. The room itself is poorly furnished, especially the ceiling and flooring, looks a bit dirty. Well, the price was fair.
X L — Google review
Unfortunately we have been very disappointed by the quality of the food. Maybe we were unlucky and got a bad day. Seefood Paella looks nice but it was tasteless and the see food consisted in 4/5 mussels and 4/5 calamari rings. Nothing else. Patata bravas tested more like chips with paprika. Other dishes also not really good. The atmosphere is very basic but ok although it was quite cold inside. Service also quite slow. We had to wait ages for everything. It is really a pity because there are no so many Spanish restaurants in Glasgow but this one does not bring anything good as it is.
Edoardo P — Google review
Had a voucher for Spanish afternoon tea here and it seriously did not disappoint!! So quirky, the food was very tasty and true to spanish culture. Noticed some of the other dishes coming out from the kitchen and it looked amazing. Will definitely be back to try the tapas! Service was great, friendly and attentive. Tried the Cubatas cocktail (vodka, passionfruit liqueur, cranberry, grenadine etc) - sweet and tasty! We went on a Sunday which had plenty free parking on the road outside.

Visited here to take advantage of a Spanish afternoon tea offer on Itison. Food and coffee were very enjoyable. Venue is in need of a bit of love however, toilets were dated and leaking water from the roof. We got here easily on the no.3 bus from city centre, noticed other guests used taxis.

Lovely cocktails and service. Spanish Afternoon Tea wasn’t my favourite as the choux pastry and scones were a bit dry. Loved the goats cheese and the Serrano ham, I feel they could have went more 80/20 on savoury vs sweet but felt there was more sweet. (Personal preference though because I would have wanted more ham portions). Server was lovely couldn’t fault the service. Atmosphere was quiet but I didn’t mind. Not sure I would go back in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much to The Bungo team for making my Sister In Law’s Hen Do absolutely amazing at the weekend. The Bungo-lo was the most perfect event space for our group of 30. I can’t thank you all enough, David was so accommodating with all my questions on the run up to the event, and the bar staff Lloyd and Gigi were such a delight. We found the venue hire to be such good value and we enjoyed the selection of drinks available at our private bar. Sound system and projector screen availability was idea too. Everybody had an absolute blast. I have enjoyed The Bungo for food, drinks and coffee a lot in the past but this was our first event at The Bungo-lo and it didn’t disappoint! See if you can spot the mould on the pita bread before I did. The shakshuka was not very nice to be honest, bland with really undercooked eggs. Lovely little spot I’ve returned to a few times now. The food is consistently great and the atmosphere has a cosy charm, even if the interior isn’t flashy. A real local gem that’s well worth a visit.

Been here on half a dozen or more occasions, with no issues, but disappointed today. Noticeable difference in change of ownership. Menus look tired and the Ayrshire dish portion was much smaller than previously (with hardly any spinach) - and that was after the new chef (who came out in a filthy 'whites') had originally got our order wrong, despite only one other customer being there at lunchtime. A bit of a wait which suggested they wouldn't cope if busy. Also flies in our corner - a problem evidenced by the sticky fly strip behind the bar. Could have been our last visit unless the reviews improve again.

Thank you to the team who were on this evening. We were at table 18. My youngest child has additional needs that make restaurant environments challenging. The awareness shown by the staff member who saw we were struggling and showed us to a selection of toys my child could pick from was the difference between us needing to abandon the trip before we'd even placed an order and us feeling welcome. Really disapointed today. We are not local to here but often will stop in and have a breakfast. We arrived over lunch time and I was told when I was at the bar to order that they didnt serve from the lunch menu on a sunday, when I further read the busy menu, thats correct, this isnt available at the weekend. Would seem that breakfast and roast dinners are the priority. I did have to ask for our table to be wiped as it was dirty when we arrived. Booked The Penthouse for a surprise 40th, the main selling point was karaoke as my partner loves a sing. Karaoke didn't work, despite several members of staff trying. It was clear it wasn't working, staff in and out and the music on and off. It was embarrassing and it did impact on the atmosphere, in the end I asked staff to just leave the music streaming from the main pub. I've since spoke to a few people who have had the same experience of the Karaoke, therefore, this is not a one off. Really nice venue though and staff had been really helpful on booking the venue and helping to arrange set up etc, but doubt I would book again.

Stumbled across this hidden gem and decided to give it a go. Delighted that we did. The pub/restaurant is connected to the tenants brewery in Glasgow and has a cracking feel to it. The menu was not overly extensive but more than sufficient and the food was excellent. The staff were brilliant and really friendly. Great music too - 80s and 90s stuff. We had the fish and chips and the steak and sausage pie. Both were massive in terms of quality and quantity. They also do beers from a third of a pint so you can sample different beers. Recommended.

Enjoyable lunch at a beautiful place right across from Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Came in to find my table was occupied. Funny exchange with the other guests but card was out on table saying there was a booking with my name. The staff dealt with it and I had my table. Had the vegan beef and bacon cheese burger. Honestly it was insane. It tastes identical to the meat burger. Had to second take it that it wasn't a mistake. Had a pint of Wingman pale ale. Also had another draught as well. The new lunch club menu is terrific value for money given the west end location.

I'd be a regular if i could pluck this Brewdog up and put it in my town. We are on to Edinburgh and will hoist a glass for you guys at the Brewdog there. Cheers and thanks again!

Excellent beer, as always, in a BrewDog bar. Food was also excellent with great portion sizes. BrewDog burgers are amongst the best around and the specials are always original and really tasty. Love eating and drinking in BrewDog Kelvingrove, which has a great atmosphere. Choice of music is always great and the staff know beer very well. Tasting any of the beers on tap is welcomed

Been a few times before and the food, beer and service is always top notch! A quiet Sunday night gave us an opportunity to watch the football and have a couple of drinks with no feeling of being rushed to finish up. Will definitely be back!

It’s BrewDog, so to be expected: Great beer, good food—Korean chicken loaded fries were on point 👌🏼 had a flight, and it was a fair price. I have to admit that the atmosphere is a little more gezellig at the merchant city venue, this place lacking much outdoor seating etc. but this was Lovely regardless.

Pub
The Sir John Moore is a modern chain bar in the heart of the city that serves up real ales, wine and coffee alongside English breakfast and pub grub. The bar is busy, with good staff and great beer which includes Stewart Brewing's Sharp's Doom Bar and eight changing beers sourced nationally. The food is good too, making it a good choice for a night out.
I've visited this Weatherspoon once for dinner & drink with friends years ago but it has now become my go-to for breakfast on a school morning. I normally order the vegetarian breakfast wrap with a side of linc sausages and hash browns. Great food, good access to sauces, cutlery and napkins and good service from the staff too - one member made sure I didn't make a mistake with my order. (I order side of sausage with my vegetarian breakfast wrap becuase I don't like bacon in my wrap)
Artilleries A — Google review
The food was awful like it was made by a dodgy council mum, the waitress left the tray on the table didn’t hand us the drinks or anything just walked off in a mood. I ordered chicken bites and ended up with soggy chicken nuggets. Also ordered onion rings and they were burnt to hell has no flavour. The Pepsi tasted like water more than Pepsi. I understand it’s a cheap place to eat but I have been to other Wetherspoons and there not as bad as this one.

It's a fab Wetherspoons.... usual cheap menu....ideal place if you're on a budget.... food is great.... recommend the burgers and pizzas.... curry is good too.....download the App prior, and you never have to leave your seat.....

It was a busy Monday afternoon with a great atmosphere. The Ramon noodle bowl tasted great. It was the closest I was getting to Asian flavours. Service was good considering it was busy. All round a great family day.

Went on Saturday afternoon place was really busy, I had shawarma chicken wrap wife had the same but with a vodka n pepsi, served quite quickly considering how busy it was. Food arrived really quick but could have been a little hotter but was really tasty and spicy, I would recommend it.Only down side was that when I checked what I had been charged on my banking app later, I noticed it was for a wrap and a drink. I send an email which answered straight away and within 3 working days I received a £5.00 gift card to cover it. Really good work from susan the deputy manager.

Restaurant
Kelvingrove Café is a trendy brasserie bar located in the West End of Glasgow. The atmosphere is dark and hip, with leather banquettes, wood paneling, and exposed brickwork creating a cool and relaxed vibe. The bar gleams with brass fittings and offers a selection of sophisticated mixed drinks primarily based on fortified wines and Amaro instead of spirits. The cocktails are bold and well thought out, made with house-made ice that's crafted using 1930s Glasgow techniques.
Was strolling along the street contemplating what to have for lunch. Came across a few eateries but pretty empty. This restaurant was pretty packed. Recalled reading they only served all day breakfast. However, I decided to head in and check them out. And concidentally, today is the first day they are serving Sunday roast. 22 pound Sunday roast with beer is priced well. Food was reasonably good.

Loverly little cafe friendly helpful team. Managed to get a table for 6 without booking. Loverly food and coffee. The French Onion Soup was epic ! One Devonshire Gardens by Hotel du Vin is an upscale Victorian hotel located in Glasgow's West End. This luxury boutique hotel offers 49 rooms and suites, each individually designed with a nod to classic elegance. The French-inspired Bistro du Vin and a cozy whisky snug provide refined dining experiences. Situated on a peaceful tree-lined street, the hotel exudes charm and sophistication, offering a prime location near attractions like the Botanic Gardens and Kelvingrove Park.
We booked One Devonshire Gardens to host our wedding ceremony and reception in June and we couldn't be happier. Every member of staff we interacted with were friendly, easy to chat to and happy to assist you in any way they could. We booked out the Townhouse 5 which included the rooms for our guests to stay in after wedding and they all said the exact same - everyone was thrilled with their rooms and the service from the staff. The turnaround time for events such as weddings is amazing - we had the ceremony and afterwards went to the bar and for photos and in the blink of an eye, the same room we were just in was transformed for dinner. The same happened between dinner and the reception at night. Guests were amazed that it was the same room that they had just been in. The food was outstanding - absolutely nothing to complain about. The service was fast and friendly and they really went out of their way to make sure that everything went well and we had everything we needed. Our room was absolutely massive, clean and well stocked with everything we could need. We were left a nice message on a dessert plate with a bottle of Champagne when we arrived the night before. The breakfast was also great, particularly the little haggis fritters! Definitely recommend booking One Devonshire Gardens and definitely consider booking the entire Townhouse 5 for a wedding - makes it a special day and your guests will love it too!

An absolute gem! This hotel was perfect from the attentive and super nice staff, to the quality of the rooms and location. We enjoyed the bar, the spa services along with the restaurant. It's location to the West End allowed for wonderful walks through great neighborhoods and parks, along with shopping and dining options. After our first day, my wife was already making plans to come back for Christmas.

We booked our stay for the duration of our wedding (in a different venue). We had a large booking of family and bridal party and also planned a private dinner one of the nights. We were so fortunate to have Stacey helping us throughout the process - she is so attentive, prompt and approachable. The private dinner was fantastic- service was impeccable and the food got rave reviews from all guests. The hotel service was second - to - none; queries were dealt with straight away and the staff were so helpful especially with older family members. The suites were perfect for accommodating a wedding prep morning and the stay was generally comfortable and luxurious.

I do think that the stairs need a good clean it feels a little bit on the dusty side, the bedrooms off fantastic the furniture is great the facilities and options inside the room are amazing, you really feel special when you go to this place especially with the food. We had the beef Wellington amazing.

We attended a family wedding at the Hotel Du Vin - House 5 Private Dining Suite. The hotel and rooms are fabulous. The venue was brilliant for us all. The staff were so welcoming and great all day. This is a very classy hotel. The service is incredible, and the personnel is friendly and kind. The rooms are cleaned very well, maintained in a great way and the food is just top quality. If you need a place to stay in Glasgow, this is the right place for you. it's a great place to stay and rest.

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at One Devonshire Gardens. This hotel is a true gem, set on a beautiful, tree-lined Victorian terrace in Glasgow's sophisticated West End. Our room was a perfect retreat—spacious, spotless, and wonderfully comfortable. The large, clean bathroom with its wonderful tub was a highlight, as was the comfy king-sized bed, which made for a great night's sleep. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious stay.

We got married at One Devonshire Gardens in April, and it was perfect. Our ceremony, drinks, meal, and evening reception were all held in Townhouse 5. We loved every second. Paige was great and so accommodating when booking, and in the run-up to the big day. On the day, the team were exceptional. Everyone was brilliant, but we want to specifically shout out our Master of Ceremonies — Nick — who was wonderful. From start to finish, nothing was too much trouble. He was a calming influence, put us all at ease, explained everything to us, and hosted / welcomed / helped our guests throughout the day and evening. Nick is a star, and exudes 5-star hospitality. Charlie at the bar was also brilliant. Great with the guests, very patient, and good chat. Thank you again!! The meal was excellent. Our guests commented on how amazing each dish was, and the wine that was paired with them. And everyone praised how lovely the venue was overall. Beautiful surroundings and interiors, attentive staff, great food and drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere overall. Thank you so much One Devonshire Gardens. A day we’ll cherish forever 🤍

The 78 is a retro-style vegetarian dining room located in Kelvinhaugh, offering a relaxed and calm atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Byres Road. The boho bar features simple wooden furniture, a roaring fire, scattered sofas, and vintage blues music playing in the background. The main highlight is its zippy vegan menu with memorable staples like falafel, spiced chickpea burger, and roasted garlic hummus.
Very chilled out Sunday vibes and enjoying the best vegan tacos I've ever eaten. Previous carnist I've not seen anything quite like this. Absolutely superb. The most flavoursome food with the PERFECT amount of spice to make this a great meal.
Emily G — Google review
Definitely recommend this place for both meat eaters and vegans. The menu is 100% vegan with loads of options - from pork to chicken to fish. I was also really impressed with the vegan cheese here. It wasn’t plasticky at all and tasted like regular cheese. We had the loaded nachos which are super tasty and good value for money. The padron peppers with salsa verde are also defo worth getting. Taco wise, we had the al pastor (vegan pork) which was really good and pretty spicy. The banana blossom (aka fish taco) was alright but I think I’d try something else next time. Loads of fun beers here too and a casual cosy vibe inside.
Aili S — Google review
Brilliant little pub in the student quarter of Glasgow serving craft beers and vegan Mexican street food. The tacos were excellent (try the enoki filling), but the smashed potatoes stole the show. Good selection of beers on draught; I liked the Helles and the Red Nitro.
Will B — Google review
I've been to Mexico twice and yet this was still one of the best vegetarian tacos/mexican I've ever had. The birria tacos are sensational and the chilaquiles are delish but also a massive portion for a side dish so be warned.
Zac S — Google review
As a bonafide carnivore I was sceptical of an entirely vegan menu but I was blown away by the quality in flavour I experienced. Cauliflower wings were incredible. The texture was hearty and rich and the ranch sauce had tang and zing. Loaded fries were huge and had all the salt and spice you could hope for. I don’t think I’m converted but it’s now a great option if I want to be healthier or impress my vegan friends and family. A really homely vibe and one to try if you are looking for a different culinary experience from the norm
Thefirstcut — Google review
My most recent visit to the 78 was awful. The food portions were tiny, a £13 cocktail was full of sugar, and no booze. The hipster staff were too busy pretending to be cool, than focusing on service. We won't be back.
Paul M — Google review
We dropped by here on a Tuesday for a friend's birthday. There's no table service nor an app, so we all had to join the long queue at the bar to order everything (-1 star). The food menu was Mexican vegetarian so ordered a few items of each. The food arrived at some point, but no cutlery or napkins so we ended up having to ask for those at the bar as well (-1 star). The food itself was thoroughly unimpressive - I've made far better tacos at home (-1 star). A couple of us arrived a little later, including the birthday boy, and they were told they ran out of food and they can't order anything anymore. What kind of place runs out of food?! It was a little before 20:00 so definitely not too late. We ended up sharing some of the food we got with them (-1 star). They did have a great selection of drinks and well-priced beers so +1 star for that. Overall a horrible dining experience, so I'd never eat here again, though might consider it for drinks.

One of the best restaurants hands down. Vegan or non vegan, Has to be the best in Glasgow. Really cool bar. The service is so good! Took care of my dietary requirements. Had the vegan bacon and avacado sandwich. Doesn't get much better than this. Value for money is also really good. Not over priced and monster portion sizes. Only if I could eat here everyday.

We attended fairly early in the day for a cocktail masterclass. My partner and I had a fab time. We were greeted warmly and had a good laugh with the barman. We were taught how to make a classic cocktail and then we got to design our own! I have terrible taste but got hints and tips throughout the session and ended up making a cocktail which is now my favorite! After our class, we stayed for some lunch. Food was beautifully made, very tasty and well priced for the area. Service was great, food was lovely and rhe class was perfect!

We visited the Innis & Gunn pub near the University of Glasgow on Ashton Lane. The pub was lively and quite crowded. My friends and I all opted for the steak—mainly tempted by the offer of a second portion for free. The steak was delicious, and the chips came in a generous portion, making the £19 price very reasonable. Both my friend and I received our second portions, which were equally generous. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the man at the bar was particularly patient in explaining the different local whiskies to us. It’s a great environment—an ideal spot for students to relax and enjoy a good meal deal.

Brews and food, nice folk. We had Mac & cheese and spicy wings. Plus a Guinness on tap and I&G Caribbean Rum Cask Red to wash them down. The red was Great. M&C was very good, maybe not quite at the level Beecher's (Seattle) or Gruyere (Gruyere) but fine indeed.

the vegan burger was amazing! very flavourful with a nice variety of textures. the cook on the steak wasn’t as expected but it was still okay. salt and vinegar onion rings were alright. however the beer was smashing. loved the cherrywood ale. service was alright, they seemed a bit understaffed and perhaps that’s why i couldn’t quite get a read on our server. they made some joke about us being american despite us not being american at all. was a bit weird but i’ll live. i would definitely come back.

Lovely Asian fusion place in Glasgow offering some spins on the typical choices you get from Asian restaurants! Great service and food was brilliant, really interesting dishes and definitely will make you try new stuff, recommend getting a few plates to share between everyone to try it all out
Lee M — Google review
Why isn't this 5 stars across the board. Nice fresh ambience, always full, friendly staff and mind blowing Thai food. There's a good reason it's Michelin guide recommended! The fried chicken, the pork and marrow sausage, duck breast, cucumber salad, beef tongue - and several others we ordered. Big bold punch flavours, generous servings and more than fair pricing- I'd be back often if I didn't live 5700km away! And the corn ribs!! Don't sleep on this place.
Ryan R — Google review
Although Ka Pao describes itself as an “Asian restaurant,” the real heartbeat of its menu is unmistakably Thai - not in a traditional sense, but through a refined interpretation of flavours and techniques. Ka-Pao means basil in Thai. Every dish bursts with robust, layered taste - bold yet balanced, fiery yet nuanced. The chefs have a masterful grasp of herbs and spices, weaving complexity and aroma into every bite. I started with the salt and Szechuan pepper oyster mushrooms with pickled mooli - a dish that immediately evoked palo, the comforting Thai-Chinese herbal stew, but reimagined in a crunchy, aromatic form. The cured yellowfin tuna with kiwi, mint nam jim and macadamia was a brilliant play on Thai larb — fresh, zesty, and full of contrast between acidity, herbs, and nutty richness. Finally, the southern yellow curry of chalkstream trout offered deep, fragrant layers reminiscent of southern Thai curries, subtly nodding to the creaminess and spice of kanom jeen sauces. Service was warm and intuitive, perfectly matching the restaurant’s lively yet relaxed atmosphere. With its inventive interpretation of Thai flavours and meticulous execution, Ka Pao stands out as one of Glasgow’s most exciting dining experiences - vibrant, soulful, and truly unforgettable. The restaurant located at basement level but both stairs and elevator (wheelchair-friendly) are available.

Amazing food and really cool atmosphere. Really great for coeliac/gluten free - staff informed of all the dishes that were/could be made GF (almost the whole menu). The fried chicken is a must!!
Emma L — Google review
The best dish we tried were the satay corn ribs - they were delicious. The caramel fried chicken we had was good, but a bit too sweet. The green curry had hardly any meat in it and far too much aubergine which was quite disappointing. The padron peppers were class. Eton mess was not an Eton mess.

We booked having never been here before, but will definitely be back. The foos and service were top class. We decided having never been, to let our server Alled ( hope I spelled your name correctly) choose our dished for us and we were not disappointed. Every dish was delicious. Would recommend any choices that the staff make. The prices were surprisingly cheap for West end prices which also reflects the staff honest recommendations based on food taste rather than upwelling. Top class from start to finish. Rank you Kapao for an awesome experience, we will be back.

On 5th November 2025 we paid a visit to Inn Deep on Great Western Road as we had heard South Side pizza legends, Sub Rosa, had moved into the kitchen here. Sure enough the information was correct. We ordered the Pepperoni & Pickled Chillies Pizza and the Ham & Pineapple Hot Sauce Pizza, Gochujang Honey Butter Chicken Tenders and the Garlic and Parmesan Fries. I honestly believe these were the BEST pizzas we have had in many a day and the Honey Butter Tenders were a melt in the mouth delight and you cannot beat the Parmesan Fries! I must also give a mention to the 2 Irish girls who were waiting on the tables, , they were excellent and attentive with permanent smiles. Go on, give them a visit, you will love it! Sub Rosa is Sublime!

We were taking part in the Off The Beatson Track "Charity" walk for Cancer. We stopped at Inn Deep as we and many others had done on previous years. The pub was quiet with lots of available tables. We sat outside at one of the tables and decided to have one of the sandwiches that we had pre made. Then what I can only describe as a Narsassistic worker advised us we couldn't eat our food at the tables due to the kitchen still being open. I advised her we were on a charity walk and asked where her sense of charity was. She then, with no consideration of what any of our party was going through, or had went through decided to turn it on us and said we were a business and we being "disrespectful to the kitchen". I think any business that was on the route of one of Glasgows biggest and most recognisable charity events would at least let those taking part sit for a well deserved break after a long walk and whatever other battles they were fighting, but no we were "disrespecting the kitchen". I really hope she never needs a seat to stop and refuel after fighting the biggest battle of her life.

It's not a normal gay bar maybe for trans or something else. Visiting the city alone they wouldn't let me in despite being sober. Glasgow feels cold and rather strange. The only place i could go was Underground which was fun, thanks to Underground.

Speakeasy is a perfectly serviceable gay bar in Glasgow's city centre. Polite man on the door. Comfortable banquette's. The requisite red lighting. Lots of cocktails. Plus a DJ pumping house & techno. Bacherlettes on the dance floor. It looked like the type of place where one would stop for a drink before moving on to another bar. Make up your own mind. Chinaskis is a compact, candle-lit bar located in Charing Cross that pays homage to the literary alter ego of writer and alcoholic Charles Bukowski. The bar features unflattering images of Bukowski and lines from his unapologetic prose. It offers a selection of bourbons and serves dishes like chickpea-fritter and halloumi burgers in its sunny courtyard.
Delicious Sunday roast. Nice organic Merlot. Dog friendly

The staff were accommodating and helpful, the atmosphere warm and cosy, and the food flavourful and well presented. I had a Bloody Mary and it was PERFECT for my palate. Small tables made it difficult to accommodate the drinks and plates for the three of us, and the venue wasn’t well-signed making it difficult to locate initially, but it added to the exclusiveness of it. I’d recommend heading in at least once when you’re in Glasgow.
Meaghan J — Google review
Outside tables a bit tight, especially for oldies. Food was delicious but was a bit cool and had to be returned to heat up. Re service, no-one came to ask us how our meal was or if we wanted anything else. We had to keep going to the bar to order extra drinks, water, coffee etc. The restaurant difficult to find as no nameplate on the front of the building. Even a restaurant name on the outside menu would have been a clue.

We ordered too much food. Lamb small plate was our favourite, delicious. Padron peppers, skin on fries were also lovely. Unfortunately the fish tacos were a let down, the fish was nice however something in the filling wasn’t pleasant so the taco’s weren’t eaten, (previously these had been delicious). Overall a lovely evening and would still return to try again.

Booked a meal for 11 of us before the theatre and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. So friendly, welcoming and organised the pre order of food perfectly. (Thanks Peter!) The quality of the food is always brilliant and the dishes are creative and tasty. Love that there are always great vegan options. Plus the wine is always really good too. A relaxed atmosphere with quality food and drink, we will definitely be back. Thanks for a great night.

The food we got (pork belly, smash burger, Mac and cheese) was absolutely amazing, the pork belly especially. We had trouble finding the entrance as there is no name on the building, just a small A4 menu off to the side. Food took about 15-20 mins to come.

Really liked this place when I popped in on a Saturday evening. Not too crazy busy. A really nice pint and atmosphere. It has a quiz night on Thursdays at 9 and a pool table. Just a good vibe and nice and cosy. I would recommend

Our bartender Tyron was amazing! My cousins and I were visiting from America and needed a bar to watch the Buffalo Bills game. They threw it on one of the TVs for us and cheered along with us. They treated us like friends and made us feel at home. Highly recommend stopping in if you find yourself in Glasgow.

Regular attendees at Mick's quiz night held every Thursday night at the Snaffle Bit . Fun night with a great mixture of questions and good music every week . Mick is a great host making everyone old and new welcome especially if they are overseas visitors with his bad jokes and patter. Bar staff do a great job keeping the drink flowing and customers happy.

Our wedding at Cottiers was just, put simply, a DREAM. I fell in love with this venue long before I was even engaged! I just knew it was where we would be having our wedding reception; thankfully, my now husband, agreed! We were blown away when we visited the venue initially. Once all of our decor etc had come together on the day (thanks to our wonderful suppliers and Team Cottiers) we walked into the hall for 'first looks': we were absolutely besotted. Not only is this venue visually stunning and provides the most perfect atmosphere for a wedding, the food was TO DIE FOR. 'Best food I've had at a wedding' is what we've heard on repeat for the last seven weeks now! Lastly, but by no means least - Eve and Erin, our coordinators, were nothing short of phenomenal. They had the patience of saints when it came to my constant stream of questions and emails -for the best part of a year. The girls kept me calm throughout and nothing was too much for them. What a credit they are to this establishment! Both girls are responsible for what we knew would be the most amazingly beautiful day <3. Thank you to no end. You are BRILLIANT at what you do. So, if you want an unforgettable wedding, Cottiers MUST be the place.
Jennifer H — Google review
3/5 – Decent but Underwhelming Visited Cottiers on a sunny afternoon. The courtyard is a lovely space, though the candles on tables indoors felt unnecessary during the day, especially in the heat. Burgers were decent, but the “chilli fries” were just regular fries with some powder seasoning – a bit misleading. Service was mediocre; staff seemed a bit disengaged. Advertised as dog-friendly, but in practice it wasn’t very welcoming for our pup. Not a bad spot, but could be much better with a few tweaks.
Kirsten D — Google review
Food was good however service was terrible. We checked the online menu so we would be prepared, only to find the menu online needed updated. The bar manager was more interested in chatting to a member of staff. I had to find an empty table and clear the debris. I asked someone to clean the table. Eventually a girl came along sprayed the table then a quick wipe , not cleaning the whole table and left a coffee stain. When we had to go into the venue we were greeted with church chairs squeezed so close there was no space. There is more space on a Ryan Air seat. Due to the way the seats were placed it made it awkward to enjoy the concert.

This place oozes with charm, from the candlelit mystique to the Medieval-inspired paint. It's such a warm place for a pint or cuppa. Likewise, it's a spectacular space for special events, whether a wedding or—as I experienced—special showing of The Wizard of Oz for the Glasgow Film Festival.

Waxy O'Connor's in Glasgow is a spacious and laid-back pub that offers regular live music, bar food, and sports events on big screens. Located at 44 West George Street, this popular spot is known for its unique design featuring hidden rooms and stairs, making each visit an adventure. Housed inside a church, the gothic architecture adds to its charm. Conveniently situated near Glasgow Queen Street station and Buchanan street, it seamlessly combines sports, music, and a vibrant atmosphere.
Don’t let the exterior of this pub fool you— the inside of this place is a wooden wonder. It’s multi-level with a maze-like feel, but it’s stunning. We stopped in for a quick lunch. We didn’t have a reservation and simply found an empty seat. (Around 1300.) Fish and chips were 15 pounds. It was pretty good! The waiter behind the bar was nice and food was served quick.

The coolest looking pub I've ever been in! Tons of carved woodwork with branches of trees and an old organ integrated into the architecture! It almost looks like something out of the Lord of the Rings! It has several floors each with their own bar and an open space in the middle to let you hear the awesome live Irish music no matter what floor you're on!

Hi, I don’t think you wanna have too many beers here, you may never find your way out. This is such a cool place, if I was able to count, I would’ve counted five levels with multiple stairways, and hallways, and seating areas. I think I saw three different bars inside there, one open area with a tiny stage at one end. Bathrooms are wild so after visiting one, I thought to myself, I’m going to do a photo study of all the crazy bathrooms in Scotland. So if you’re wondering about a fun place to go get a bite to eat and a pint, this is your spot. If you’re out and about, you’ve got someone following you and you wanna lose them, this place would work fantastic for that as long as you leave Some breadcrumbs so you can find your way out.

Delicious food! I have tried most of the dishes on the menu and they are healthy and tasty! Attended a concert by De Wolff with German friends. I gave up going to stereo long ago as it really is a dreadful venue. God knows its original purpose in antiquity. It now is yet another basement air raid shelter resembling some old derelict factory. Huge ceiling pipes and pillars all around Like a scene from some apocalyptic post nuclear sci-fi movie.Glasgow is full of them. SGW3 being the worst in a long list.It is disgraceful that we are charged highly to be packed in , standing like sardines pushed up toward the stage but so many just accept it . Drunk weirdos, the walking dead. They all stand head banging. I really despair. The concert was mercifully short. I couldnt wait to get out. I would have left had it not been for the fact that i was with holidaying German Friends. I will not attend these places anymore. Its shameful. Disabled facilities are practically non existent. I am an Arthritis sufferer and cannot stand for long periods. I had to sit on a hard uncomfortable bench running along a wall. I couldn't. see the band All i could see was the backsides of those crammed toward stage in front of me its like paying for torture. The sound was unbearably loud Vocals were inaudible. Whole thing was a shambles in every way. Its really shameful and can't be considered as entertainment in any stretch of the imagination. I AM OUT,NO MORE.

very good food, especially recommended for lunch when it's much quieter and the wonderful lunch deals. though slightly pricy, it's more than worth it for the interesting fusion menu and the quality of ingredients. the only criticism I have is for their desserts - while delicious, I would not call those tiramisù, or cannoli. however this is more due to the fact we are of course not in Italy, so many recipes are interpreted a little more liberally ;). also, once the noodles I had were quite stuck together. but they were extremely busy and I suspect that was just a small mismanagement of time. it was absolutely not enough to put me off coming back multiple times, every time feeling wonderfully welcomed and able to truly be myself without fear. all in all, incredibly inclusive and delicious! brilliant coffees too!

Not a patch on what it used to be, not even one real ale was on tap, all unavailable and this was on a Saturday lunchtime. Bar staff pleasant enough. Gents toilets door missing its handle so you had to stick your finger into the hole to pull the door open to get back out to bar. Poor.

Nice place,we went on a Sunday to see a comedian called Stuart Mitchell who was excellent,we then went to the bar and listened to live music, atmosphere was great although very busy which I suppose is a good thing. A couple of friends suggested we go here - I had never been. Really spacious with an outside seating area as well. Seems to have different menus for inside and outside but not entirely sure. It was quiet which was nice and there is a lot to choose from on the menu. The service was fine - nothing super special but attentive enough and at no point did we feel rushed. I had the Pizza Crunch which was delicious! Good price range as well.

We popped in for lunch one afternoon during our visit to Scotland and had a nice meal each. The atmosphere was a little run-down but definitely homely and had that classic pub vibe. The service was friendly enough but one staff member came across quite dismissive and uninterested. Noone coming to check the food was okay etc, no asking about anymore drinks. The food itself was fine. It's lucky in itself to have a place like this with all vegan food so it was a good, safe option during a visit. But the food we had was quite uninspired and bland, especially considering the price. Overall just a fine visit, would go back if we visit again and try something else but would definitely recommend looking around elsewhere for something more interesting first. I would hesitate to say it's worth the price.

A great venue with delicious vegan food! We had the Shawarma chips and the fish (tofu) supper, they were both incredible. There’s outdoor and indoor seating, very nice and chill atmosphere. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Worth a visit for some great vegan food and they have gigs and events as well.

Excellent vegan food in an atmosphere that is aquaint relaxed blend of Mexican, youth club, cross channel ferry at midnight. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food is splendid, the haggis burger is one of the best haggis products ever, a Smokey fake meat burger topped with a vegan haggis and mayo. Naturally a stack like that gets a little sloppy if you eat it like a burger but it held together well. The fries were perfect, it was missing a side salad, so I could at least pretend I was being healthy. The desert was a sundae, took me back to a childhood holiday at Butlins but the flavours were more mature with caramel and nut sprinkled on top. A 5/5 experience.

A truly classic bar predominantly selling hard liquor but has a couple of cask ales pouring, the quality of which ensures it’s a regular entry in the Good Beer Guide. Very good Glasgow pub about three minutes walk from Kelvinhall subway station. Two cask beers on handpump when I visited including a stout. A few tables outside on the pavement. There is a strong highland connection in this pub, with the name spelt in Gaelic by the side entrance. Stained-glass windows by local artists portray scenes from the infamous clearances while the urinals are dedicated to the Duke of Sutherland and other perpetrators. Regular folk sessions are featured.

TRUE WHISKY olde world bar/lounge on Dumbarton Rd near KelvinGrove in Glasgow that from the outside is unconvincing - but step inside and its cosy, subtle lighting, traditional and warm great service. Lots of great choices of Whisky, two versions of draught Guinness (ice cold) and all of your favourite drinks! I ordered a special Glengoyne and Steven wanted to tell me the price before ordering!! Wow. What can I say about this place? We visited from across the pond, and this became one of our go-to bars. Not only do they open earlier than other gay bars in the city, they have an amazing bartender, Alison, who is fabulous. There’s also an adorable regular named David hanging about from time to time. Hi I have recently started going to the Waterloo as I have heard about it from friends & family members,it's a lovely place great atmosphere very welcoming & the staff are great but the only negative thing that I can say about the Waterloo is the prices a month ago it was £10 for a double rum & a tin of coke & I was there again last weekend & it was £11.30 which I feel is a bit pricey as wetherspoons does the same drink for only £5.

Music quiet in comparison to folk chatting and probably not great for elderly or the hard of hearing. Atmosphere generally lively and good for families including kids. This is great for this type of restaurant. Staff all friendly and couldn't do enough for you - can't fault them at all. Set Menu for Fathers Day priced the same as The Ivy but I can't honestly say they held the same standard for all of the courses. Had topside of beef which was incredibly fatty - usually a leaner cut. Cauliflower cheese was inconsistent with mines quite watery but others was perfect! Overall food was decent otherwise (especially the starters were lovely.
