Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a must-see attraction in Glasgow, offering a diverse collection of Scottish and international art as well as natural history displays. Situated in the historic district of Glasgow Cross, it provides visitors with an opportunity to explore 22 galleries featuring famous floating heads and renowned artworks like Dali's Christ of St John of the Cross painting. The museum also offers exhibitions that provide insights into different time periods.
Visited the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum during our family holiday to Scotland, and it was a standout experience! The building itself is stunning—both outside and in—and packed with exhibits that kept the kids fascinated for hours. From ancient artefacts to interactive science displays, every room offered something unique. The highlight for us was the natural history section and the Spitfire suspended in the main hall—absolutely thrilling for the little ones! The atmosphere was welcoming for families. Best of all, admission was free, making it an easy and worthwhile stop for travellers. Highly recommended if you're exploring Glasgow with children—educational, entertaining, and inspiring!

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is outstanding, with a fantastic mix of art, cultural treasures, and natural history exhibits. The daily organ concert at 1pm is a real highlight and not to be missed. The biggest drawback is the parking—spaces are limited, the machines don’t accept credit cards, and the parking app doesn’t work for international visitors, so don’t bother trying. Bring coins if you must drive, but it’s far easier to take public transit or Uber. Aside from the parking headache, this is a world-class museum and well worth the visit.
Tim S — Google review
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Glasgow's largest and most popular attractions. It contains a wealth of exhibits ranging from prehistory to the present day. One of the most interesting exhibits is Salvador Dalí's painting, "Christ of Saint John of the Cross". The sheer number of exhibits and artifacts is impressive, and it takes several hours to explore everything. On-site amenities include restrooms and refreshment stands. The icing on the cake is the organ concert held there. As they say, there's something for everyone. I highly recommend it.
Sylwek Y — Google review
Absolutely brilliant museum! Can't miss this one when on Glasgow! Definitely worth spending some time here and then some! Setting aside the great architecture of the building itself the collections are absolutely fantastic catering to varying tastes from Natural History to Painting to Design. And to top it all, it's free! The shop doesn't disappoint either if that's high on your priorities 😉
Antonis K — Google review
Lovely museum with a brilliant range of exhibits - not just Art. 2 gift shops, one for adults and one for children, will a lovely range of items. Is free to enter but you need to pay for parking. We paid £7.90 for three hours which was well worth it. There’s a food van in the car park for hot drinks and a bite to eat. We used the EV charger - lead got stuck in the machine and had to call the help line who wouldn’t release us until the car next to us had disconnected. Not the museums issue at all but worth noting if you’re planning on charging there.

I have been a few times over the years and still enjoy it just as much as I did the first time. I went recently with my family on a rainy day. We had a good walk round everywhere and spent a couple of hours. There is lots to see and things for kids to do around the museum. There is a wee cafe inside, if you fancy a tea/coffee, cake, soup and other things available. I have never tried to cafe so cant comment on the food. There are 3 floors to discover a huge range to keep everyone happy. There is also a gift shop. Plenty toilets, disabled access with elevators to get from floor to floor. At certain times you can her the giant organ playing (we went Sunday) so it played at 3pm. There is a big park area outside for a walk round or picnic in dry weather. Can hop on the 77 from Buchanan bus station and takes 10mins. Bonus its Free. There are places you can leave a donation. Don't want to share too many photos so you can see for yourselves.

A wonderful place to visit in Glasgow! Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is truly amazing — a perfect mix of art, history, and culture under one beautiful roof. The architecture itself is stunning, and the exhibits are very well arranged. I especially loved the variety — from ancient artifacts to modern art and natural history displays. It’s peaceful, educational, and completely free to enter. A must-visit spot for anyone in Glasgow!
Talha A — Google review
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Glasgow’s most beautiful and iconic landmarks. The museum, opened in 1901, is housed in a stunning red sandstone building located beside Kelvingrove Park and near the University of Glasgow. It features over 8,000 exhibits, including masterpieces by Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Salvador Dalí, as well as fascinating displays about Scotland’s history, nature, and culture. One of the highlights is the grand organ, which is used for free daily concerts that fill the museum with wonderful music. The museum is free to enter and offers a perfect mix of art, history, and nature — a must-visit spot in Glasgow!

Housed in a striking building designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the museum's collection spans from vintage automobiles and trains to prams and even a Stormtrooper.
Superb place for anybody who likes cars, motorbikes, buses, trains, trams & more, it is also free to enter. Lots to look at, take your time to walk around & look up, there is also an upstairs. The cafe downstairs very busy, waiting to be seated, there is a smaller cafe upstairs, you can go outside straight onto the tall ship, which isn't free, £4.50 adult. They do ask if your able to make a donation, absolutely recommend a visit, good for children as well, the tour buses pick up down there as well.

Anyone that gives this museum less than 5 stars needs to have a word with themselves. This museum is such an asset to Glasgow and worth a visit for all ages. Firstly it’s free which after visiting we couldn’t believe. There is so much to see and do and we spent hours exploring all the exhibits. Inside is split over two floors with all areas wheelchair accessible. You can get up and close with vehicles of all shapes and sizes from old police cars, ambulances and fire engines to steam rollers, motorbikes and cars of every shape and size. It has a great selection of steam trains on display and we loved the old fashioned street display where it felt you were walking back in time and you could explore all the old shops and even subway train. There is a lovely wee cafe and gift shop too.

The Riverside Museum is a fantastic place to visit, especially as admission is free, making it accessible for everyone. Its location right by the river adds to the charm, giving visitors a chance to enjoy the scenic surroundings before or after exploring the museum itself. The building is modern and striking, and once inside, you’re greeted with an impressive collection that feels both inviting and easy to navigate. One of the highlights is the range of lovely old vehicles on display, from vintage cars and trams to classic bikes, which are fascinating to see up close. The museum is also very well thought out in terms of accessibility, with excellent disabled facilities that ensure all visitors can enjoy the experience comfortably. It’s a place that combines history, culture, and atmosphere beautifully, making it well worth a visit.

This museum is a really good day out. Tracks the history of transport from the beginning to now. A good variety of interactive displays to keep the interest. Good for kids and adults. Has a cafe to grab lunch or a quick bite to eat. Well worth a visit.
Shannon N — Google review
Amazing place, one of the best museums we have ever been to, got there at opening time, stayed until around 3.00pm, great coffee, great soup...... The displays are very well laid out with lots of interesting info. The ship conveyer belt was so cool. Great to sit in an old underground train and watch the movie from the 1940s, also the Coronation tram, the old shops and street were so well done..... Love seeing the Caledonian Railway 123 loco, still have my Triang/Hornby one from the 1970s :) Not all about transport, plenty about Glasgow life. The Tall Ship is worth a visit too just behind the museum.
Martin C — Google review
I am unable to provide a rating for a museum. However, if you are a true automobile enthusiast, this particular museum is an exceptional destination. The extensive collection of vehicles, all maintained in such remarkable condition, is truly astonishing. And its free.
Jalal A — Google review
A very good place to visit with children. A good collection of old cars, bikes, and a train, and how the streets look. It feels like you have time traveled and are seeing the past with your own eyes. It will feel very nostalgic to the elderly who may remember a few things from their childhood. Free to visit.
Abdullah R — Google review

Glasgow Science Centre is a top science and technology museum in Scotland, known for its interactive exhibits, planetarium, IMAX theatre, and cafes. With around 300 hands-on science exhibits spread across three floors, visitors can enjoy an educational and entertaining experience. The center also features a Planetarium that offers insightful shows. Visitors can engage in various physical and endurance tests while learning about upcoming scientific topics such as Big Data.
Great day had by the family at the science centre! Lots of interactive activities to get brains of all ages ticking. Lots of areas in different STEM topics, all of which we enjoyed! On top of the entry tickets, we also booked tickets for the kids planetarium show which came at a small additional charge, but would recommend as it was brilliant.

Glasgow Science Centre is a wonderful museum that presents science in a fun and engaging way for all ages. It helps children understand what they learn at school through practical and interactive experiences. The centre has diverse sections that keep everyone entertained and curious. I highly recommend visiting it for anyone coming to Glasgow, Scotland

Brilliant day out at Glasgow Science Centre! We had such a great time, with our 6 year old daughter, there’s loads to see and do for all ages. The interactive exhibits kept everyone entertained for hours, and it’s clear how much effort goes into keeping everything engaging and educational. The staff were friendly and really helpful, and IMAX 3D cinema was a highlight. It’s one of those places where you can easily spend the whole day without getting bored. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Glasgow, whether you’ve got kids or you’re just a big kid yourself!
Callum M — Google review
Pleasantly surprised at how much there is to do and see at the science centre! Went with a group of parents and kids of all ages and they all enjoyed. Definately needed more time there as there are a number of levels to visit. Would saintly visit again.

Glasgow Cathedral, also known as St. Mungo's, is a significant example of Scottish Gothic architecture and the oldest building in Glasgow. It was consecrated in 1197 and is the only medieval cathedral to have survived the Protestant Reformation in 1560. The lower crypt houses the tomb of Glasgow's patron saint, St. Mungo. Visitors are captivated by its stunning stained glass windows and ornate interior.
Glasgow Cathedral is one of the iconic buildings to visit in Glasgow. Its breathtaking and majestic Gothic architecture is evident both inside and out. The intricate details of the cathedral reveal the rich history of this enduring structure. The cathedral is free to enter, but donations are recommended for the restoration and maintenance of the building. Please note that the last entry is at 4:15 p.m., so you’ll need a full hour to explore everything inside. There’s also plenty of information to read along the way.
Kevin F — Google review
Despite the advised booking of free tickets online, we discovered upon arrival that no one was checking them, and we were permitted to enter freely. We were fortunate to join a free guided tour immediately. The volunteer guide provided excellent context, explaining the history of the cathedral and the reasons for its construction in that location. There is a great deal to see, and visitors who appreciate religious art and history could easily spend several hours inside.
David A — Google review
Stepping into Glasgow Cathedral is like stepping back in time. The architecture is incredibly detailed and mesmerizing, and the history within its walls is palpable. It's a truly unique experience to walk through such a historic place. Plus, it's free to enter, and you can get audio guides for a small fee to learn even more. The cathedral is really well-maintained, and it's a great visual experience. Highly recommend
Abins A — Google review
First visit inside, had walked past it on numerous occasions in the past. A wet Saturday afternoon, the cathedral and the square looked amazing. Lots of tour groups, the place was a buzzing. Once inside, the atmosphere was very sedate and respectful. Beautiful , building and the stain glass windows just add to the spectacular nature of this building
Ed H — Google review
One of the most impressive cathedrals I've ever been to! It's such a large and beautiful place. We were blown away. Free entry and worth a visit to the necropolis over the bridge while you're here.
Eilidh B — Google review
We love to visit the Cathedrals when visiting a city, although we have visited Glasgow many times this was our first visit to the Cathedral and it is well worth a visit. Wonderful stain glass windows and ornate ceilings. Loved all the history and atmosphere as I said well worth a visit if you're going to Glasgow

Gorgeous. A very beautiful cathedral. Wonderful history of survival. Very nice to see how they are fixing the stone outside and preserving it's beauty.

Amazing cathedral, the architecture is truly magnanimous. I really like the way they maintain and run these establishments. Was able to spend more than 60 minutes..just soaking in the history of this place. The audio tour was really good..good accessibility and proper restrooms as well. Overall, I love it

Historical landmark
The Glasgow Necropolis is a Victorian-era cemetery that houses the graves and mausoleums of prominent figures from Glasgow's past. Spanning 37 acres, it is a rich source of captivating architecture, sculptures, and historical narratives from the city's Victorian era. With an estimated 50,000 burials and around 3,500 monuments marking them, this cemetery has been described as a 'city of the dead.'
Beautiful cemetery within walking distance of Glasgow city centre. Spent about an hour looking around. I'm sure there would be something interesting to see each visit. Very peaceful with lovely views of Glasgow Cathedral and loved the spring blossom. Free to enter.
Claire G — Google review
Stepping into the Glasgow Necropolis feels less like entering a cemetery and more like discovering an open-air museum. This Victorian masterpiece is an absolute must-see and a true five-star experience. Perched on a hill overlooking Glasgow Cathedral, the Necropolis offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city. As you ascend the winding paths, each turn reveals a new and stunning monument. The sheer scale and intricate detail of the tombs and mausoleums are awe-inspiring, a testament to the city's rich history and the craftsmanship of the time. You can spend hours wandering, reading the fascinating inscriptions, and admiring the varied architectural styles, from Greek Revival to Gothic. The atmosphere is one of serene beauty and historical reverence, not at all eerie. It's a peaceful place for a walk, a spot for contemplation, and a photographer's dream, especially as the light changes throughout the day. The "Bridge of Sighs" that connects the cathedral to the Necropolis is an iconic entry point, setting the stage for the grandeur that awaits. Whether you're a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique and beautiful place to explore in Glasgow, the Necropolis delivers on every front. It's a truly unforgettable place that captures the city's past and offers some of the best views you'll find anywhere.
S G — Google review
Absolutely stunning. We love a grave yard and this has to be one of the biggest and best we've been to in the UK. Huge monuments and lots of different graves and structures to look at. It looks out across Glasgow city and you can see the beautiful cathedral from it's banks. Its a bit messy in places with overgrown ivy and trees but I guess this is down to the council and money. It's still stunning though and really gets you appreciating the architecture.
Karl V — Google review
Set on a hill overlooking the city, this Victorian cemetery offers stunning views of Glasgow, especially at sunset. The architecture of the tombs and monuments is incredible—each one tells a story. It’s peaceful, a bit eerie in the best way, and perfect for a reflective walk. I’d recommend combining it with a visit to the nearby Glasgow Cathedral and grabbing a coffee in one of the local cafés after. A quiet yet powerful experience.
AJay S — Google review
“Grand cemetery of the Victorian elite” as per Google maps! This place is so interesting, full of social history. We were there over an hour and only saw some of it. Following in from the entrance next to Glasgow Cathedral the paths twist and turn getting higher and higher. The view from the higher parts of the Necropolis are breathtaking! We visited on a bright sunny day but I would love to see it at dusk. I think the Necropolis has to be one of the places you should definitely visit when visiting Glasgow. Free entry. Highly recommended!
Anne S — Google review
We were visiting Glasgow for a day trip from Stirling and walked around this fascinating attraction known as the Victorian “city of the dead” situated on a hill just east of Glasgow Cathedral. It is home to approximately 50,000 burials and around 3,500 elaborate monuments and mausoleums. The top of the hill has nice view of the city and the Cathedral.
Catherine H — Google review
The large cemetery located behind the Glasgow cathedral. It is very extensive and imposing. The Victorian style tombs tells the power and wealth of those buried there. One of the biggest and noticeable tomb is a monument dedicated to John Knox, while he was actually buried near Giles cathedral at Edinburgh. The place necropolis means city of dead.
Stanly W — Google review
The Necropolis is a great place to visit in Glasgow's spiritual heart. Although the Necropolis is in the centre of busy Glasgow, it is a good place to go for inner city peace and contemplation and also stunning views of Glasgow stretching in all directions. Tours are also given lasting about 2 hours, which book up quickly. I highly recommend a visit to the Necropolis.

The Burrell Collection, a carefully curated assortment of over 9,000 objects donated to Glasgow by Sir William Burrell in 1944, has recently reopened after an extensive refurbishment. The collection includes ceramics, tapestries, glass, and decorative arts from various periods and styles spanning over 6,000 years of world history. Visitors can explore works by renowned artists such as Bellini, Rembrandt, Chardin, Degas, and Manet.
Wonderful family outing. It is free to enter but you need to pay for parking which there was plenty of. There is a wide diversity of items in the collection. From antiquities of Egypt, Greece and China to artists such as Rodin, Degas and Cezzane. There are interactive videos for young ones. Plenty of space on the grounds for a picnic or there is a restaurant available inside. Large play area by the parking for little ones as well.

The Burrell Collection, nestled within the Pollock Country Park, is a must-visit destination in Glasgow. Not only is it free, but it’s also a beautifully renovated museum with a modern design. The museum’s layout is expertly crafted, featuring a free-flowing route that takes visitors through a diverse collection of artifacts from around the world. Among the impressive collection are paintings by renowned artists like Degas and Cezanne, as well as many others. The Burrell Collection offers a truly captivating experience, allowing visitors to spend time exploring its rich and diverse exhibits. Highly recommended, the Burrell Collection is worth a detour from your usual route. The park has ample parking, and if you’re commuting, a shuttle bus service connects the museum to the bus or train station.

Loved visiting the Burrell Collection! Amazing mix of art and history in a really modern space, and it’s right in the middle of beautiful Pollok Park. Great place to wander and relax. The museum is well-designed and maintained with a hint of interactivity for kids. The staff is friendly and has some fun worksheets for kids.

Enjoyable visit to The Burrell collection. We arrived and were offered to join a free tour, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. There is a lot to take it, and many areas we likely missed. We will return again... the inside area itself is very well looked after. The toilets were also spotless. Cafe food is a little expensive, but it is properly catered by professional chefs and is very fresh. We did enjoy the food and would pay the prices again. * please take the time to pay for parking as it is £100 fine if you are caught (GGC), and there were 2 wardens visibly checking tickets. It's not expensive considering its free entry. If you have any spare change, there is a donations box to contribute to on the way out. Allow yourself 2 - 3 hours

Beautiful museum- truly a peaceful experience in a neatly constructed building. I enjoyed the mix of indoor and outdoor views, the modern enhancements of old exhibits. A great park to visit, as well!

Perfect place with LOTS to see and do, family friendly , the best sunday roast i’ve ever had (i’m already 5 years in the UK). This is a truly must see place!!! (It’s possible to see the furry cows - the cutest)

Shockingly impressive collection of artworks, textiles, collectibles and antique furniture ranging from the 1900s to the 600s from those I looked at. Staff all extremely friendly and the building itself is an architectural beauty. Well worth the visit. Gift shop was okay, had alot of local srtisinsl products which are appreciated but not alot of artwork and collection related items such as prints. Restaurant and cafe sell kinda the same things and they are quite expensive, I'd avoid. Free entry to the museum is always appreciated.

Pollok Country Park, located in Glasgow, offers a diverse range of activities for visitors. The expansive park features extensive woodland and gardens that provide a sanctuary for both wildlife and nature enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy the lush greenery, scenic landscapes, and tranquil atmosphere while exploring the various walking trails and mountain biking circuits. Families with children can take advantage of the play park and open spaces, while couples can indulge in romantic riverside picnics.
Had a beautiful visit with the family, there is a highland cow pasture with little calves which are soooo cute, the Highland cows are very affectionate, love being petted and getting their picture taken. There is a large family play park where kids of all ages can have a go at the various swings, slides etc ..that includes us Adult kids. The burrel collection museum is also located within the park, (which has recently been refurbished) and is free to enter, there is a beautiful cafe in the museum as well as a souvenir gift shop. The grounds are also pretty spectacular with lots of paths and little routes to guide you through the park. There is lots to see and hear including waterfalls, amazing plants and greenery, as well as the overall sound of nature. Definitely a must visit for all.

I recently visited Pollok Park with my family, and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The park is beautifully maintained and offers a perfect mix of natural beauty, open spaces, and interesting views. Children play area was really nice and had lots to do. The kids loved seeing the Highland cattle and exploring the woodland areas. A great spot for a picnic, family walk or just some quiet time away from the city. Highly recommended.

Great place to explore after we landed in Glasgow before checking into the hotel. Great way to see Highland Coos, explore beautiful grounds, and more. We wanted to walk and chose not to go in to see the art because of limited time. The Pollok HOuse was closed, but looked very impressive from the outside even with work being done. Lots of people walking dogs and lots of families. We had much better opportunities to see highland cows later in our trip, but it was fun to see them here on day one and learn about them.

Beautiful park! 🏞️ There were so many Highland Coo's. 🐮 We got to pet them and scratch behind their ears. They were so friendly and cute! 😍 The paths were very pretty and the Burrell Collection was very cool and had such a variety of gifts in the gift shop. Would definitely return! 🤩

While the views are nice, there is not much guidance about different locations within the park. I saw so many tourists confused and leaving disappointed because there was barely any tour guidance. Only a couple maps that made it hard to make sense of where to go. Anyway enjoyed but experience could havr been better had we not walked for an hour with a disable child looking for the right place

A beautiful and peaceful place! 🌿 Pollok Country Park is one of the most stunning parks in Glasgow, with wide green spaces and a calm atmosphere. Wonderful place to see highlands cows Love this place, with different kind of gardens, big cafe, big car park(need to pay - Sunday 3 hours : 4.9£) , clean toilets with a pretty museum. Modern art museum
The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) is housed in a stunning neoclassical building in Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow. Originally a townhouse, it has transformed over the years into a prominent center for contemporary art since 1996. The gallery features an extensive permanent collection and hosts temporary exhibitions, workshops, and artists' talks. It aims to showcase the work of local talents as well as international artists while emphasizing common influences and practices across the globe.
When you visit Glasgow, you won’t miss the Gallery of Modern Art. Not only is the unique building a must-see, but the statue of the Duke of Wellington outside also perfectly captures the Glaswegian sense of humour. The museum itself is relatively small, focusing on modern art rather than historic pieces. However, the interior is filled with interesting works that showcase local artists. I highly recommend starting from the top floor and working your way down. You can easily spend two hours exploring everything within the gallery. The museum also has a gift shop and is free to visit. While donations are appreciated to maintain the facility, they’re not mandatory. Additionally, the basement serves as a local library and coffee shop. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this museum and being open-minded. Even if the art doesn’t suit your taste, take the time to understand why the museum chose to display those works.

They say art is the eye of the beholder, and in this case, my eye was not impressed with any of the artwork. There was a reasonable sized collection, so it is worth a look as your tastes may differ. It is free to enter. It was architecturally worth a look. I particularly liked the glass ceiling. There was a small souvenir shop. It was very reasonably priced and had a good selection. The staff were polite and helpful. Young children would not find the gallery interesting. However, there was an art area to distract them. The building is accessible for people who use a wheelchair. There are lifts and ramps available. They had wheelchairs for loan. There were accessible toilets. There were tactile models and audio descriptions. I also noticed they had a quiet room.
Shelley C — Google review
Highlight of my day was wandering around this lovely museum! The exhibits aren't huge but have very cool, eclectic pieces. I felt intrigued and reflective and inspired, which is what one would hope for from a museum visit. There's also a library downstairs so I had a great time just chilling there reading. All in all fabulous experience, so nice to exist somewhere and not feel like your main purpose is to spend money (disclaimer I did buy a postcard for £1).
Lydia H — Google review
It is a large building in the centre of Glasgow and it has a strange layout that requires a bit of navigation to get round. It is over several floors but there is a lift that opens at either end depending on the floor you want to exit. Modern art is always hit or miss. I enjoyed some exhibits more than others. Cafe and library in the basement, shop opposite entry which sells many unique items, so worth a look.
Joseph K — Google review
A great experience! Situated just a stone’s throw from the station GoMA is housed in a beautiful classic building, complete with a statue topped off with traffic cones in front of the building. Beautiful and thought provoking work to appeal to many tastes and in the lower level a lovely library and cafe. The loos are also on this level. Well worth a visit!
Anne S — Google review
I find the museum a bit disappointing. The exhibition space is quite small and I wasn’t very thrilled by what was presented there. I love modern art museums but this one was a bit dull. I have left much earlier than planned for this museum. The good points is that the location is pretty central ( so it’s a good stop if you depart later by train from the city) and it’s free of charge.
Culture T — Google review
Amazing building, interesting peices and welcoming staff. A must see when visiting this wonderful city. It is accessible with a wheelchair. Though tight in the cute gift shop, I found staff very helpful with any challenges faced. Don't be afraid to ask for support/ help.
Caitlin — Google review
I loved the swirly coloured glass panels in the windows. And the mirrored mosaic in the pediment (triangle on the top of building). That and the sculpture of an English Duke with a traffic cone as a couvre-chef announce that we are in for some contemporary art. As an art and library person, I have a selection of library photos to share, as the art will likely change, to remain current.

Kelvingrove Park, located in Glasgow's West End, is a popular destination for walkers, cyclists, and runners. Established in 1852 by renowned gardener Sir Joseph Paxton, the park sits along the River Kelvin and borders the famous Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery. Visitors can enjoy various activities within the park including a skate park, bowling and croquet greens, as well as interesting landmarks to explore.
Park is massive, and something for everyone. They have good size playing area for young children. They also have toilets 🚻 which is a rarity now a day's. Plenty of seat/ benches along the way. On lovely sunny 🌞 day definitely worth a visit. Pack a picnic, have an enjoyable afternoon out. On Dumbarton Rd Plenty of places for food,/ drinks.

Beautiful green space in the heart of Glasgow. Perfect for a relaxing walk along the River Kelvin, with plenty of spots for picnics, play areas for kids, and stunning views of the city. A must-visit for families, joggers, and anyone who loves nature
Cdakingtamudo — Google review
Despite the cold, rainy, and windy weather, our visit to Kelvingrove Park was unforgettable. The entire place felt like a living piece of history—every corner seemed to whisper stories of the past. The rain only added to the magic; historic buildings seemed to dance under the drops, and the moody sky gave everything a poetic charm. It was one of those rare experiences where even bad weather couldn’t ruin the beauty—it actually made it even more special. A must-see in Glasgow, rain or shine.

A large beautiful park in the city of Glasgow. It has flower beds, fountains, skatepark, bandstand, bowling green, croquet area, ponds, and children's play areas. The River Kelvin runs through the park. There are lots of benches so you can easily find somewhere to relax, listen to the bird song, and watch the world pass by. There is good access for people who use a wheelchair. The paths are wide and hard surfaced. Some are steep, but it is possible to find an alternative route. There are lots of maps, but some of these are up too high for a wheelchair user to be able to easily read them. You can walk your dog here.

Park was super busy today, and it was great in the sunshine! We sat and chanted some mantras and my toddler dragged me to the park 5 times! She absolutely loved it and there was so much to see! Wish there more toilets though, as the museum is a bit of a walk when you are bursting! Make sure and go before you visit. Love this place though, super chilled when when it's hoaching!

The Lighthouse, located in Glasgow, is a renowned exhibition space and visitor center dedicated to architecture and design. It serves as Scotland's hub for showcasing the country's talent in these fields through various events, workshops, and exhibits. The building also features a viewing platform offering stunning panoramic views of Glasgow. Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1895, it remains an iconic landmark in the city and is conveniently situated near the Style Mile.
Mackintosh’s former office tower now offers rooftop views over his city. The spiral staircase’s 134 steps are worth it – each landing has quirky design exhibits. The museum shop sells Rennie Mackintosh postcards printed since the 1960s.
Arman K — Google review
I spent almost 1 hour there with other friends. It presents a great deal of the Scottish arts, however I don't really like the organisation there. It should be reorganized. The open view from the top of the stair way is great for spotting attractions in Glasgow
Hung B — Google review
The building was very nice, the best part of the exposition was the lighthouse itself. The stairwell went up to the very top and made it incredibly worth climbing all those flights of stairs. However, it is not accessible to everyone, if you need to use the lift you can only access a different part of the building that shows you part of the view to the city but you cannot go where the stairwell takes you. Toilets at the lighthouse weren’t great. They had some funny signs but the woman’s toilet seats felt like they were about to fall off the wall if you sat down.
Sofia G — Google review
Great place, hidden in the lanes of Buchanan street but worth visiting. Has several museums. To see this staircase you need to go through the Mackintosh hall on the 3rd floor. It would've been great if they had a map of glasgow on the top, so you could easily guess what building is what. Otherwise, fine 👍🏻

After 4 years living in Glasgow and I hadn't been here, this is such a discovery. Nice place with great views from the tower, really arty and we'll located. Apparently is more famous for tourists, but has a great and avant-garde atmosphere.
AlvaRo M — Google review
A building designed by Glasgow favourite son Mr Charles Rennie McIntosh although you don't really get the flavour of it from the outside due to the tightness of Mitchell lane and the close proximity of the adjacent buildings. The tower itself is not by McIntosh but a later addition but has great panoramic views of the city below, so worth the visit but beware I counted 220 steps to the top!
Alan W — Google review
Unique building in the centre of Glasgow with an interesting history. Great viewing from the top where you can go outside on a gantry with a 360°view. A lot of steps to climb from the 3rd floor if you want to get the great view.

The Tall Ship Glenlee, a restored 19th-century Victorian sailing ship moored on the River Clyde in Glasgow, offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the city's rich shipbuilding heritage. The ship, one of only five remaining tall ships built on the Clyde that is still afloat today, features maritime-themed exhibitions and tours.
Great ship but the lower decks are very boring. It is interesting to see but if you don't want to be disapointed, just stay the deck 😉 I would say that if it wouldn't cost any money... but it does.. so enjoy you time and have fun.

I always like setting foot on deck of old ships like this one, however, I gotta say that I enjoyed its sister ship the Cutty Sark in London just a little more. We also visited when it was free to explore, now there’s a small cost. It’s funny to look into the history of this ship and see how many times it has been sold off. The ship is bigger than you’d initially think, but it still doesn’t take too long to explore - an hour tops. It’s a fun stop when in the area.

This ship is definitely worth a visit if you’re exploring the Riverside Museum. Doesn’t take too long to explore but you can get up close in all the main areas from the hold and engine room to the captain and crew quarters. Really nice staff in all areas and even has a cafe and and toilets on board. Well worth a visit and really cheap to get on.

The Tallship is beautiful. Its location in a beautiful area. The staff are very friendly. I really appreciated the book I received with my online ticket. I liked how we could visit all decks. The unfortunate part was that the ship has been altered to allow make for an event space.

The ship is sa true landmark of Glasgow. Hawing served under many flags It returned to Glasgow and now serves proudly as a stationary landmark of the city's shipbuilding past. The inside is not as impressive as the outside but the best part for me was the cargo hold. I had wonderful time learning bout the boat and connecting with my roots as my grandfather was a welder at the Denny's in Dumbarton. Overall. A must in the city even just to pass by

Historic old sailing ship berthed next to the Transport Museum. Best views from across the river on Govan side. Glenlee is a steel-hulled three-masted barque, built as a cargo ship at Port Glasgow under that name in 1896 for Glasgow owners. With later owners she was named Islamount and Clarastella. From 1922 she was the sail training ship Galatea in the Spanish Navy. Since 1993, carrying her original name, Glenlee has been a museum ship at the Riverside Museum on Pointhouse Quay in the Partick area of Glasgow, known as The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour.

Situated on the banks of the River Clyde, The Clydeside Distillery is a must-visit for whisky enthusiasts. This single malt whisky distillery offers individual and group tours, a specialist whisky shop, and even a fill-your-own-bottle option. Despite Glasgow's limited whisky heritage, this distillery aims to revive the city's disappearing whisky trade.
Very cool Scotch whisky distillery that opened around 2017. They sell their own brands (which are obviously no more than 8 years old), as well as a plethora of other great brands, some of which have been aged for 20+ years. We went for the tour which gave a great overview of the history of the building and the “why” of the business owners way ahead. The tour ends with a tasting which we enjoyed.
Greg E — Google review
Joined the whisky and chocolate tour. Alastair was a fantastic guide. He explained everything clearly during the distillery visit and provided lots of interesting information during the whisky and chocolate tasting. He shared why and how each chocolate was paired with a specific whisky. Really enjoy this part. We tasted five different whiskies, each paired with a locally made chocolate. We received a free whisky glass as a souvenir at the end. The only downside was that the tour felt a bit rushed. There wasn’t enough time to read the historical displays in the Dockside Story area. It is not the tour guide fault. maybe the tour structure could be adjusted so guests have time to explore that section before the tour begins?
Uncle C — Google review
Nice and modern distillery. With tours being interactive and interesting, and of course tasty. 😊 Quite young distillery so limited selection of whisky, my favourite was the HMS Glasgow. In time the selection will be better of course, so I would do a new tour in some years. The guide was very friendly and generous. Videos and info banners and interior are modern and high quality! I was impressed! The location is just 2 stops and a little walk from Glasgow Central.

Got a Tour of the distillery as a birthday gift. The tour takes about an hour and there's 3 or 4 quality malt whiskys to sample at the tasting session at the end of the tour. The production area and the small museum and Bar/Shop are all spotless clean. The young tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. A lovely 5 🌟 experience. Highly recommended.

A great experience for a stag do hosted incredibly by Marnie. She was fantastically knowledgeable about the distillery and process, providing plenty of humour and insight throughout the tour. I've visited several distilleries and taken part in many tours and maintain that the host is a crucial element in ensuring that the experience stands out. Would highly recommend!
Carl B — Google review
Booked tour: Whisky and Chocolate. The tour only gives you a basic insight into the technical plant. Nevertheless, in retrospect it was an interesting experience, as the focus of the tour is obviously more on the whisky lifestyle. This became particularly clear during the tasting of the various whiskies and chocolate. Part of the tour is a small museum (which unfortunately came up far too short) as well as a guide who led the group with a lot of humor. The time flew by. The chocolate tour can definitely be recommended! If you are in the small visitor center long enough before the tour, you can also eat delicious (!) snacks there. The staff were friendly and supportive at all times.

We really loved the experience here. Tour done by the amazing Riley and we were very impressed by her. She can really tell a good story. We did the 1 hour tour and got to taste some whiskies as well. The whiskies we tasted were really nice. They have a nice shop with souvenirs as well. No food in the café but the nice people in the shop gave us some recommendations to go have lunch in the city.
Nathalie — Google review
Great tour of a real distillery and its real equipment. Reasonable price. What I don’t like: our guide was rushing us all the time; the last part in the distillery room is supposed to be the best part of the tour, but the machine is so loud and the guide could barely be heard; the whiskeys offered for tasting are not good ones.

This is an amazing gallery. The Mackintosh house is particularly worth a look. The gallery itself is free, the Mackintosh house is £10 full price and less for concessions. Amazing experience ! I offered my boyfriend the stadium and museum tour and it was really fun. We had some traffic problems so we couldn’t arrived on time but the staff was very friendly and let us do the tour ! Our guide, George was an absolute gem, and the tour was really informative and interesting. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for something unique football wise

Had a brilliant time on the Hampden Park Stadium Tour and Museum! Our guide, Callum, was fantastic – really knowledgeable, funny, and made the whole tour engaging from start to finish. It was great to learn so much about Scotland’s football history and get a behind-the-scenes look at the national stadium. The museum is full of fascinating memorabilia too. Would definitely recommend to any football fan (or even if you’re just curious about Scottish sport in general)!
Laura M — Google review
The tour and museum were excellent. Andy led our tour, kept everyone safe behind the yellow line in the roadway. Not only did he navigste us safely through the bowels of Hampden Park, he did so with expert knowledge and witticism even drawing from personal experience. Football fans would absolutely love the tour and museum but I think there is even enough for non-football fans to appreciate. The staff were all wonderfully friendly and obliging. From the reception, the cafe to the museum staff; all were sound and pleasant to deal with. Well worth a visit.

me and my boyfriend Thomas had a great time at the tour, lots of info about the stadium and players and then the museum was brilliant to and the cafe for a wee refreshment

I went to the tour of the stadium and museum with my 14 year old son. It is well worth a visit. Andy the tour guide was really knowledgeable and very good with trivia and letting us take our time and photos. We saw all of what happens behind the scenes in the coach drop off zone, ref’s room, changing rooms, warm up area and went pitch side. The museum is packed full of memorabilia and information. Well worth the money and the trip.

Booked for our 8 year olds birthday party and we all had a ball. Frankie our guide was superb and both tour, game of football and museum were fantastic. Thanks again Frankie 🙌

Glasgow Green is a historic park spanning 55 hectares and featuring iconic landmarks such as the triumphant arch and the terracotta Doulton Fountain in front of People's Palace. As the oldest park in Glasgow, it boasts attractions like Nelson's Monument and the St. Andrew's Suspension Bridge. Visitors can enjoy a pleasant walk along well-kept pathways by the River Clyde, passing boathouses, bridges, and greenhouses attached to The People's Palace.
I had the pleasure to take my wee neice and big nephew to TRNSMT 2025 Friday night to see the proper good The Script. We walked through the south end of the park, it's a very nice wee park, lots of things to do. Even as we left around 10pm the park was still busy with lots of families enjoying the evening sun 🌞. We had a cracking good time, it's a well organised festival, definitely no like the auld T in the Park days. I have enjoyed many good events at the Green, going back to The Prodigy in the 90s. Hopefully I'll be able to return. 5/5 🖖

Beautiful space. Magnificent monument and water fountain. A shame the fountain was off though. I bet it look glorious when it's running!

My group stayed in Glasgow for the Worlds Bagpipe Championships these last 2 weeks. This was some of the groups 1st time in Scotland, including me and my daughter. My 1st impression was it reminded me of los angeles with the graffiti, homelessness, and some people on drugs tweeking on the streets. Our area was very walkable and we had no safety issues. Buchanan street was a nice visit with restaurants and shops. I loved seeing the architecture and art on buildings and my favorite part was visiting Pollock Park and seeing the Scottish Highland Cows and art museum. I was sad Pollok house was under renovation and closed but the Bridge and river were very beautiful. To get around town, we used Scotrail, Uber, taxis, or walked. Glasgow Green is a beautiful park as well. Scotland was so amazing!

Glasgow Green is one of the cleanest and most peaceful parks I’ve visited. The grounds are spotless, the paths are well-kept, and there’s plenty of space to relax or explore. The greenery is stunning—lush lawns, tall trees, and colorful gardens make it perfect for a walk, picnic, or just soaking up nature. It’s a lovely area with historical landmarks like the People’s Palace and Doulton Fountain, and it’s easy to reach from the city center. Whether you’re out for a jog, walking the dog, or enjoying time with family, Glasgow Green is a fantastic spot to unwind. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike!

A nice and quiet park I hope you will visit this beautiful place in Glasgow and it is full of beautiful history of the great country of Scotland stemming from beautiful nature

We met family in the park and made the most of two of the playgrounds. The larger slides were a huge hit with the kids of all ages. There were a couple of picnic tables, which worked well for a visit. There was also a small cafe, which served a selection of hot and cold foods. We really liked the bike cycle hire that was available, which is part of a small charity, also teaching children to cycle if they don't have access to their own bikes.
Kim K — Google review
This park is great for early morning runners! It has a greenway that goes around the entire park. I ran the side that goes along the Clyde. I would estimate from end to end on that side it’s about 1.5 miles on way. It goes straight into a recreational park full of soccer fields that you can also run around too. I felt very safe, the greenway has lots of trees and a wide path. When running past the Clyde, you may even see some flocks of swans. Seems to be a local favorite running spot!

Educational institution
The University of Glasgow, established in 1451, is a multi-disciplinary institution and played a significant role during the Scottish Enlightenment. The campus, located in the West End since the 1870s, boasts stunning architecture designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott. Its gothic buildings and castle-like turrets are rumored to have inspired J.K. Rowling's Hogwarts. Visitors can stroll through peaceful sunny courtyards and admire the awe-inspiring old buildings that give off a dream castle vibe.
If you’re into architecture, the University of Glasgow is a must-see. The main building is a stunning example of Gothic Revival style, and it genuinely feels like stepping into another era. From the pointed arches and intricate stone carvings to the massive spires that reach into the sky, it’s a place that grabs your attention from every angle. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 19th century, the building looks more like a cathedral or a fantasy castle than a university. The level of detail is insane — every window, column, and corridor has a story. The cloisters (those arched walkways under the building) are especially beautiful, and they make the whole place feel peaceful and dramatic at the same time. What’s really cool is how the building blends history with everyday life. Students walk through these centuries-old halls daily, and yet it still feels fresh and full of life. It’s one of those rare places where the architecture isn’t just for show — it’s still being used and appreciated the way it was meant to be. Even if you’re not an architecture nerd, it’s impossible not to be impressed. Take a walk through, look up, and just enjoy being surrounded by some of the most beautiful stonework in the city.

Beautiful campus for visitors. Glasgow University is one of the best universities in the world with brightest brains studying there. I visited the campus as a visitor and got in love with the historic buildings over there. Beautiful and lovely place.

The campus is absolutely stunning — the Gothic-style buildings make you feel like you’ve stepped into a movie set (almost like Hogwarts!). It’s not only beautiful but also full of history, and the views from the university grounds are breathtaking.

University of Glasgow is an absolutely stunning and historic university! 🏰 The architecture is breathtaking — it truly feels like stepping into a movie or a fairytale. The campus is full of charm, with beautiful old buildings, peaceful courtyards, and amazing views of the city. It’s not just a place of learning, but also a must-visit landmark in Glasgow. A perfect spot for history lovers, photography, and anyone who appreciates beautiful places filled with culture and knowledge. 🎓✨

This isn’t likely to be on many people’s bucket lists, but if you’re an architecture enthusiast, you’ll definitely want to visit the University of Glasgow. You might think it’s just another school, but it’s not. It has a rich history and numerous architectural features that have stood the test of time. Stepping onto the campus feels like stepping into the past, creating a surreal atmosphere. The university’s preservation is remarkable, and every location is incredibly picturesque. It’s not just a place to learn; it’s a wonderful destination to unwind and be amazed by the architecture. The campus also houses a museum that might interest you. Overall, this is a place you’ll definitely want to visit in Glasgow. It’s a historic architectural masterpiece that transports you back in time.

The University of Glasgow is absolutely stunning and feels like stepping into another world. As a Harry Potter fan it is hard to believe no scenes were filmed here because the architecture is magical. For any tourist this is the most essential place to visit in Glasgow and it truly leaves a lasting impression.

An absolutely stunning campus to visit! The University of Glasgow feels like stepping into history – the architecture is breathtaking, with its Gothic towers and beautiful cloisters that look like something out of Harry Potter. The Hunterian Museum and the university grounds are free to explore, and the views over the city are amazing. Even if you’re not a student, it’s a must-see attraction when visiting Glasgow. If you're visiting with kids, like I did, it's definitely an inspiration for them.

The People's Palace, situated in the historic Glasgow Green, is a museum and glasshouse showcasing Glasgow's industrial history and local culture from 1750 to the late 20th century. The center offers exhibits featuring objects, photographs, prints, and films that narrate the city's story. It was established in 1898 as a cultural hub for the people during challenging times in the East End of Glasgow.
Free entrance for everyone. What a lovely place! A splendid way to travel backwards in time! This place truly caters to the public, keeping diverse areas vibrant. The stunning architecture and garden surroundings could easily pass as a filming location for "Downton Abbey." Kudos to the incredibly kind individuals standing at the entrance all day, braving the cold to offer every visitor a proper welcome! Ensure you contribute a small donation to play your part in sustaining this establishment (I've included the QR code in one of the pictures).

Hate it cos its indefinitely closed. A crown jewel of tourist attractions in Glasgow's oldest park. Childhood memories abound from late 1950's when my great uncle James opened my eyes to the world of education on many visits there. Now derelict as is the adjacent Victorian tropical plant house. A total GCC disgrace.😡
Dennis S — Google review
Free place to go and explore! The museum was really interesting and had a lot of cool displays and parts of the exhibits. I loved the interactive bits and thought it was a perfect spot to get out of the rain and read about Glaswegian history.

Parking is free and entry in free...so what are you waiting for. It has the full story of Glasgow across 3 floors, as well as a cafe & toilets. There is also a lift if you can't handle the stairs. Spent 2 hours here before closing at 5pm. Will definitely be back, as I feel there is more to digest.

Lovely architecture. Free entry. Nice place to bring family. Big grounds on the outside for picnic when the weather is nice and a lovely playground nearby. Lots of free street parking along the Museum. There’s a nice cafe in the winter garden. The display is great to introduce the little ones with some of the things we grew up with from the early 1960s-1990s.
Annette G — Google review
I love this museum, It should be more popular!! The information inside is very well displayed, with big wall pictures, we can see the inside of rooms dating to the beginning of the 20th centuries and objects that explain how people lived. The topics covered: the first, the second world war, the house crisis, poverty, justice, entertainment and holiday. The pictures taken are moving, mixing slums and group of children playing in the building stairs, it made me feel both lucky to be able to live in a proper house, but also nostalgic to an era that I didn't know, when neighbours knew each other and whose children could play around without restriction/fear of strangers. This museum is for me a rare exemple of the right level of text to inform and well displayed to be eye-catching. In addition, the person at the entrance of the museum was really nice, he said hello and goodbye with a big smile.
Amandine G — Google review
It’s free and no booking is required. Also free parking. This museums shows the history of Glasgow and gives visitors an insight into how Glaswegians lived, worked and played in years gone by through collection of objects, photographs, prints and a film. Greenhouse (Winter Gardens) is closed though, not sure if and when it will re-open. There are toilets throughout the building, lifts for those who may need extra help and on the first floor there is a café.
S S — Google review
Lovely building full of very interesting artefacts of Glasgow through the years. We enjoyed our visit very much. Had a decent cup of coffee and a snack in the cafe area. The toilets were very poor. I understand its an old building but the toilet seats weren't even secured properly and the restrooms were not very clean. This is the reason I cannot give it 5 stars.

Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre in Glasgow, Scotland is a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience created by the visionary trio of Eduard Bersudsky, Tatyana Jakovskaya, and Sergey Jakovsky. The theatre showcases a brilliant display of kinetic sculptures set to eerie music and synchronized light, bringing Russian stories to life through tragi-comedic performances. The collection includes Wooden Kinemats, Metal Kinemats, and Proletarian Greetings.
Incredible doesn't cover it, genuinely the coolest show I have ever witnessed and the definition of a hidden gem. Do not miss out on this, I saw the late show which lasts around 45 mins with extra time before and after when you can take photos of the pieces.
John M — Google review
Fascinating and mesmerising, very talented creator and I have never seen anything like it; and cool that the show was introduced by the son (step son?) of the artist. My only criticism is I could have continued watching it all day!
Rebecca V — Google review
An incredible work of art and engineering— completely blew my mind. In addition to unique kinetic art, the supporting music and lighting is masterful. This is a must see exhibit. And if you’re within 200 miles of Glasgow I strongly recommend a detour to see the dozens of masterpieces.
Greg E — Google review
A unique experience- nothing I've ever seen really compares. The sound and light add interesting dimensions to the kinemats.
Michael S — Google review
Absolutely incredible and unique experience. Probably best enjoyed by adults though not children and not for you if you're easily creeped out I guess. Honestly, if you do your research and understand the type of place this is and are still interested you will probably enjoy it, though art is always subjective at the end of the day. My partner and I loved it. The performance is captivating and does a great job of drawing your attention to certain sections of each piece as it plays (with the ability to look in more detail at the end) and bringing out emotions from the Soviet era. The pieces themselves are quite intricate and regardless of whether the style of the art is to your taste, I feel like the overall performance including the movement, lighting and music let's you see into the soul of the artist which in my opinion is interesting regardless of what I think about each piece personally and speaks on several levels unlike, say paintings (though those have their own appeal in a different way of course). The information about the artist and small plaques next to each piece are interesting additional info but very non intrusive so it's your choice to read it or form your own ideas. Got a bit rambly there but long story short, give it a shot if you're creatively inclined, like mechanical models or are looking for something a bit different.
Riiya B — Google review
I’ve given it 4 stars due mainly how impressive and unique an experience it is to see the models made from old reused and scrap metal coming to life. Very smart engineering involved However I didn’t overly enjoy the show itself and did personally think it was quite expensive for the hour. For this I would give it closer to a 3 Wouldn’t recommend with young children as a lot of it is quite a slow built and is very dark and gothic feeling too.
Craig — Google review
The combination of sculpture, movement and music is very special. The installations are absolutely incredible - the detail in each one is astounding. I felt transported to Russia. This is a very unique and most enjoyable experience. Highly recommend it!
Stella J — Google review
I’ve never seen anything like this in my years of travelling. Super interesting if you’re into the Guillermo del Toro aesthetic, light shows, puppetry and machinery. It’s very interesting to see how the mechanism works and to find hidden characters here and there. My favourite is the “Titanic” and the one hanging near the reception. Another interesting thing is to see how the sounds made by the machinery complement each other while the show is going on. The only thing is that there wasn’t enough time to go through the history notes before/after the show ends. I think what would be interesting is to have small group tours and have an expert walk through some highlights with you and also the stories behind each sculpture. Like, what does the animals symbolise. In the “Tower of Babel” - what is the idea behind it and how did it come about, etc. All in all, highly recommended. It was time well-spent.

The Scotland Street School Museum offers a fascinating journey through the history of Scottish education, with reconstructed classrooms from the Victorian, World War II, and 1960s eras. Originally designed by architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh to serve Glasgow's shipbuilding and engineering communities, this museum provides insight into school life during different periods. Visitors can admire the architectural features of the building before stepping into classrooms that reflect various historical periods.
Located in the district of Kingston, Scotland street school museum has wonderfully preserved the evolution of education system in Scotland in the 2Oth century. We were fascinated by the exhibits. I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in history and education. The employees there are very knowledgeable and welcoming. My 8 year old daughter was shown all the toys commonly used by both boys and girls in Scottish schools in the last century and she could play with some of them.

Glasgow Film Theatre, also known as GFT, is a beloved independent cinema and registered charity that serves as the heart of film in Glasgow. It offers a diverse selection of films including classics, independent movies, documentaries, foreign language films, and new releases. The theater is renowned for hosting various annual film festivals and events. As the last remaining arthouse cinema in Glasgow, GFT has thrived with the support of Glasgow City Council and now boasts three screens to accommodate its growing popularity.
Nice indecently run movie theater. They put a lot of effort into this as you can tell — staff is very nice, down-to-Earth, accommodating. Seating is a bit uncomfortable and rows are very close to each other (you can literally „feel“ the one sitting right behind you). Other than that great experience and keep your independence! 😀
Carsten W — Google review
One of the best cinemas out there! Always stupendous quality and sound, the seats are comfier in screen 3 and screen 2 but all of them always look and sound amazing. Their programming is fantastic and unique, and the film festival is just one of the coolest events I’ve ever been to! Make sure to take advantage of the 15-25 membership if you can. My only complaint would be the bathroom situation but I know you can only do so much with the space you have

This is a great theatre, it continues to retain that old world film theatre charm but with up to date facilities. None of your over commercialised nonsense here. The place is a charity so it's also ethical cinema going. A lovely place showing a range of great movies, from world cinema, Avant Garde, celebrating many of the major film festivals as well as showing most of the mainstream movies etc. An absolute must for the discerning viewer and culture vultures.

The Hunterian Museum, located within the University of Glasgow, is Scotland's oldest museum and a major tourist attraction. It encompasses the Hunterian Museum, the Hunterian Art Gallery, the Mackintosh House, the Zoology Museum, and the Anatomy Museum spread across various buildings on campus. Visitors of all ages can explore gory surgical exhibits, skeletons, ancient artifacts like dinosaur fossils and Egyptian mummies as well as famous artworks for free. The museum also offers guided tours to enhance visitors' experience.
Nice museum, also for kids. They can play with toy dinosaurs, Lego and knex for example. Displays of pieces of an old Roman wall, of fossils, gemstones and so much more. Lovely high building on the inside and Harry Potter-like on the outside.

The Hunterian Museum, located within Glasgow University, may be challenging to find, but there are signs that guide you toward it. If the signs are unclear, don’t hesitate to ask the staff member for assistance; they’ll be happy to help. However, you’ll still need to take an elevator to reach the museum from the entrance point. The museum is free to enter during this portion. It houses a fascinating collection of artifacts and provides valuable information about the exhibits. The knowledgeable and helpful staff members make the experience even more enjoyable. Despite its smaller size, the museum feels a bit cramped, but it’s definitely worth spending a few hours exploring the mesmerizing displays. If you’re in the area, highly recommend adding the Hunterian Museum to your travel list. It’s definitely worth your time and effort.

Relatively small as museums go. Interesting collection. The Roman section more to my taste than the rest even though the science part and the colonial ones were interesting as well. Friendly staff too. Free entry so good to visit if you're visiting the Hunterian Art gallery as well.

The Hunterian Museum at the University of Glasgow is a fascinating place to visit! It beautifully combines science, art, and history in one space. The exhibits are well-presented and tell amazing stories about medicine, nature, and archaeology. The building itself is stunning, and the atmosphere is calm and inspiring. Definitely worth a visit — and it’s free!

I really enjoyed visiting this museum. It had a little bit of everything crammed in , including Roman artifacts, mefical specimens, geology , scientific history, animal artifacts, etc. There was enough to keep you occupied for a good amount of time. The museum is free to enter. The exhibits were set out over two floors. There was a lift or stairs to each floor. There were toilets available, but you needed to use the lift to access these. They were a bit untidy. There was also a shop on the lower floor. This had some souvenirs for the museum and lots of souvenirs for Glasgow University. Prices were what you would expect for a tourist attraction. The building is accessible to people who use a wheelchair. It had a lift, though this was incredibly slow. There were disabled toilets. There were seats around the exhibit area and foldable carry stools. The building has an induction loop system. You can get a free digital guide. Reception has magnifying glasses to help read information and see smaller artifacts. Lighting is low to protect the exhibits. I did not feel there was enough to occupy children in the early years age group.
Shelley C — Google review
The museum is really good and has good collection stones and pillars of Roman era in Scotland. There are many collections and good to visit. It is part of Glasgow university and we're collected by William Hunter.

Housed within the architectural splendour of Glasgow university, The Hunterian Galleries are Glasgows oldest museum. The museum was established in 1807 at the university's original site in High St. Dr. William Hunter, a famed London based, Scottish ground breaking anatomist and physician had bequeathed upon his death in 1783 his historic collections to Glasgow university to be preserved and displayed for the educational value of future generations. The collections were transferred to the new university, at Gilmorehill Campus when it was established in 1870.The interiors of the two main halls are spectacular, the roman antiquities gallery being of special interest among the many interesting exhibits. Entry is free. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about so many things in an amazing architectural setting.

A must-visit spot that captures the spirit of Glasgow beautifully.

George Square is a central spot in Glasgow with a lot of history and a great atmosphere. 🏛️ It’s surrounded by beautiful buildings, and the statues throughout the square add to its charm. 🗿 It’s a nice place to sit and relax, especially on a sunny day, though it can get quite busy. 📸 Sometimes, there are events or gatherings happening, which makes it even more lively. Definitely worth a visit if you're exploring Glasgow

George Square is a famous place in the centre of Glasgow. There are big statues, old buildings, and usually many people around. But now the square is under construction, so some parts are closed and not so nice to see. It’s still a good place to walk by, but not the best time to visit until the work is finished.
Anas H — Google review
The "renovation of the century", a complete transformation of the square, is currently taking place on the square. It is completely fenced off, nothing can be seen from it.There is a hole in the tarpaulin, through which you can look into the square to see the construction work.

Hi! Visited George Square for the first time with my kids and friends, and it was a wonderful experience! The excitement of feeding the pigeons was a highlight for all of us—especially for the kids. The square has a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, with beautiful architecture and plenty of space to relax and enjoy. It’s a perfect spot for families and friends to spend quality time together. Definitely a place we’ll visit again! Highly recommend!

Beautiful square and park area in Glasgow. Interesting statues around the square. Also, it is where the Memorial for those from Glasgow who served in WWI and WWII. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the outdoors. We really enjoyed our visit to George Square on our trip to Glasgow.

Like stepping into another wee world , a lovely welcome , so many beautiful artifacts and displays to pick one favourite but I think the Ganesha made especially for the museum is very beautiful, it's such a good vibe inside, I could sit there all day and there's a cracking wee shop , well worth a visit you won't be disappointed and you can pop into the magnificent Cathedral and The Provands Lordship (the oldest house) ...day trip sorted ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This was a very interesting museum. It has exhibits relating to all the major religions. The exhibits were well presented, and there was a lot to see. There is free entry. Staff were polite and welcoming. There are toilets, including accessible toilets. These were in a clean condition. There was a small souvenir shop and a cafe. The museum is wheelchair accessible. There are wheelchairs available. Some staff are trained in basic sign language

Pinkston Watersports is Scotland's only urban watersports center, located in the heart of Glasgow. It offers a variety of water-based activities for families and thrill-seekers, including whitewater tubing, wakeboarding, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and white-water rafting. The facility features an artificial whitewater course and Glasgow Wake Park for additional experiences on the water.
Have known about Pinkston for a while and was finally able to visit for a Saturday morning swim. Thankfully the water wasn't as cold as I thought it might be! 😂 Being our first time visiting, the staff were great and took time to explain everything. Definitely recommend & we'll be back every time we're in Glasgow

Fantastic urban wild swimming with friendly staff close to the city centre. Shallow enough to stand and a 300m plus loop to exercise around. What a great facility for the city!

My friend and I were looking to gain some basic Kayaking skills and booked a beginner’s session. We were made to feel very welcome by Stevie and our instructor Rachel was excellent, she quickly gauged our proficiency and gave us excellent instruction without judgment. We gained a lot of confidence through our 1 and a half hours and would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience

Booked the beginner session for Kayaking/white water intro session for my 13 year old and his friend. They loved it and the attention to detail and balancing safety with fun was spot on. I would highly recommend pinkston and the range of activities on offer.

Had a kayak lesson on Friday 08/08/25 at 1700! Staff members, Rachel and Greig were both fantastic, both knowledgeable, explained things well and had a genuine interest in teaching their skills. Both were full of encouragement and offered plenty of reassurance, made me feel safe albeit pushed me out of my comfort zone! All in, an excellent experience and great fun! Both a credit to Pinkston, appreciate both their efforts! 👏👍😁

Very much enjoyed my paddle board introduction. Instructor Ed was very good and knowledgeable. I've now used Pinkston twice and have enjoyed it both times. The only thing in my opinion that let's it down, is the complete lack of anywhere warm for relatives to sit whilst waiting on the activity to finish. Tea or coffee machine would also be good.Having said that I still intend to go again. Ian Y

If you're looking for a fantastic family outing in Glasgow, look no further than Wonder World Soft Play Glasgow! This vibrant soft play centre is a treasure trove of adventure, featuring themed areas that spark imagination and creativity. With an astro-turf football pitch, Go Karts, and even a moon crater slide in a space-themed zone, there's no shortage of excitement for kids aged 0 to 12.
Soft play. My 2 kids love it. 11 years old boy and a 3 year old boy. It's got a baby part. It's also got a small football pitch with soft balls. And the main part is massive for bigger boys and girls. It also has a place that sells food. I would recommend this. But one thing I would say is, it's around £15 to enter for kids. I wish it was cheaper. It's not affordable for a family who has a few kids. Maybe bring back the monthly pass. That would be greatly appreciated.
Scott B — Google review
Verbatim from 8 year old "really, really, really, really fun" and I was instructed to write really four times. As an adult, the restaurant/food menu was minimal and delicious and considerably less than other 'kid play' places. Will come back most definitely. Great area for under 5's too.
DEp A — Google review
Kids loved it. Food and coffee great. Staff superb. Cleaning constantly whilst I was in, which is great. Toilets clean. Great play area. Parking was easy. Spacious and loads of tables. Only thing I wasnt a big fan of but I get it, too many of those pay to play machines in my opinion, kids spend a lot of time begging for a shot of them, no enough pound coins in my pocket to keep up!

Very very big soft play. Has a train, a volcano and soo may slides. Kids enjoyed it thoroughly and will be coming back here on our next visit to Scotland.

The kids had an amazing time here, Even though I thought it would be a little bigger the play area is a little compact. But so much fun nonetheless. The staff was friendly one lady in particular even took the time to write out a few other places for me. I forgot your name but thank you so much for making us feel so welcomed in the soft play area and in Scotland in general.

Out of the that we have been to ...this one is our favourite. The staff are absolutely amazing and super friendly. The place is always much cleaner than the others. We will miss this place very much as we're moving but when we come up, we will be sure to visit.

Located in what looks like an industrial area, the soft play is actually very nice. Decent site with alot for the kids to do. Parking is suitable. There are clean toilets and you can order for food...doughnuts...toasties...drinks etc. Noticed though that alot of kids came with their water bottles, which I think was a good idea. Come with your socks to avoid buying when you arrive. Also noticed that some kids celebrated their birthdays here. In all I think its a good place to bring the kids back.

The Glasgow Climbing Centre, located in a former church near Ibrox Stadium, offers a variety of climbing activities such as bouldering and abseiling. It is conveniently situated within walking distance from the Cessnock and Ibrox subway stations, making it easily accessible for visitors. The center provides sessions tailored for different age groups, including Rock Ratz sessions for kids aged seven to 12 and more challenging Climbatize sessions for 12 to 17-year-olds.
I went for the adult novice class, and I was a bit nervous but the instructor was so kind and helpful. At £35PP it was actually quite reasonable, got 3 hours of lessons, free equipment hire, and a free membership to go back in the week following the lesson! The cafe is lovely too, and I’d definitely recommend for something to do

Awesome climbing centre and a great use of an old building - Countless autobelays of a really decent height, with interesting and varied route setting throughout. What a gem! 🧗

My daughter ‘s favourite climbing place in Glasgow . The reception is very friendly and helpful. If you are totally beginner or try first time climbing don’t worry to ask they answer all questions! Bouldering and climbing both nice area and for different levels climber , kids friendly. But for young kids I recommend you look up their website , book the instructor or group class first , if you not sure which group to book just give them a call . The cafe is my favourite 🤩 so beautiful and friendly staffs .

The atmospheric climbing location. This is a superb place for learning and very kid friendly. The constant chilled beats in the background eases you in. Need to have completed a course to take in up to 2 non members to climb. Great variety of technically challenging walls. This is a busy place and rightly so. The staff are superb and offer help. There are changing rooms, toilets and a shower. There is a shop for your climbing needs. In the basement there is bouldering floor which is also challenging with good mats. The balcony cafe has a good mix to offer from toasties, sandwiches and salads. Usually soup as well as some curry. Vegan and veggies are covered. Staff friendly.
Crawford S — Google review
I have been coming to Glasgow climbing centre for years and I have always had good experiences, with great staff. Generally it is quieter in the mornings or later in the day but even when it's busy you can get a decent climb in. Plenty of autobelay routes (roughly 10 walls), and other top rope and lead routes. Nice decent bouldering area in the basement with a range of climbs. Good facilities for changing rooms, lockers etc. The cafe does great food upstairs also!
Kevin M — Google review
Visiting a friend I had the chance to visit the Glasgow Climbing Centre a few times. Although the staff is friendly and there are plenty of auto-belay routes regularly renewed, I won't miss coming here. Being a converted church Glasgow Climbing Centre is quite dark inside, there are plenty of pillars in unsuitable places, and the bouldering room is cramped. The music is also on low volume and it's never been really well attended (especially downstairs it was spooky quiet), so it was hard to get in a good climbing groove there with a sense of community. What upset me the most is when my, granted, quite inexperienced friend climbed a steep beginner's boulder (pink 5+ in the photo) and fell normally close to the top, he hit his head on a very closely located pillar that's unprotected and even has holds. He bled profusely but luckily was fine. The staff was helpful and friendly, oddly experienced dealing with incidents (a la "We do this almost every other day") and not at all concerned about the threat of injury by leaving a pillar unprotected so close to the routes finish. Never did they even suggest that another look may be taken at this setup to keep the fall zone cleared from obstacles. We've had many discussions since (albeit not with the staff) and most are either surprised and shocked that this accident was made possible. My friend could have died if he had fallen only a bit closer to the column and opened his head on one of the holds. I'm not an experienced climber myself but neither have I seen such a threat in a bouldering section before, nor do I plan on supporting any gym that shows such little care to minimize risk for injury or death.
Frederik D — Google review
Was last here 11 years ago! Great place to learn, who'd have thought an old church would be such a good place to build an indoor climbing centre. They provide abseiling from the steeple, climbing walls in the main part, and bouldering in the basement. There's also a great cafe on-site, where decent snacks, meals, and hot & cold drinks are available, including plenty of vegan options. The staff are friendly, helpful, and quite chilled, so any worries about being intimidated are soon dispersed. You can hire kit (harness, shoes) for a few quid. If you haven't claimed before, make sure you take an introductory course. The basics are very easy to learn and you'll be climbing in no time. Why not 5-star? Well, I have a disabled wife who uses a wheelchair, who would've been happy to come along and use the cafe while my daughter, my friends, and I climbed but it's not accessible. The entrance is up a flight of stairs (old church, remember) with no ramp, and then the cafe is at the top of a spiral staircase, with the toilets located on the ground floor. There's no lift up to the cafe, which is a shame as you get a great view of the climbing walls (I believe the cafe is located in the area where the choir and organ would have been). I recognise that as a climbing centre there isn't much of a reason for them to cater to disabled people, but that doesn't mean it should restrict disabled people from accompanying their friends and family. Maybe it's something they can think about for the future... Overall, we had a great time - time that passed very quickly! For my daughter and I, entrance fee and hire of kit came to £34 in total. We were in from 7pm until 10pm.

Art school
The Glasgow School of Art is a renowned university-level art school that offers design and architecture courses housed within the iconic Mackintosh building. In 2014, a devastating fire swept through the historic main building, threatening to destroy the masterpiece designed by legendary architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Despite the destruction of the beautiful Mackintosh Library, heroic efforts by firefighters saved most of the structure. The resilience and grandeur of the building, even in its damaged state, reflect Mackintosh's architectural brilliance.
This is amazing and wonderful school of arts , they have students to all overstaff from different walks of life so you will definitely get best experience and teaching here that much they have former student who has mini gallery shop on garthill run by panda mcglone and his wee pals that shows you the levels of how good the art school.

What an entitled, aloof, privileged and arrogant institution this is. Their catastrophic footprint on the local area and Glasgow as a whole after their fires can never be ignored. Having closed roads for years for their personal use under the guise of repairing the Mack is appalling. The place should be demolished and every single person in management fired!

I'm happy to share my experience at The Glasgow School of Art! The institution's commitment to delivering high-quality education is evident in every aspect. As a student specializing in design, I have found it to be a great place to learn and connect with outstanding lecturers with a lot of both practical and theoretical experience. Even as a first-year student who joined as an advanced learner from year 3, I've been thoroughly enjoying every moment and discussion with my tutors. The classes are of great quality, providing valuable insights and fostering practical learning. It's been a rewarding experience, and I highly recommend The Glasgow School of Art for anyone seeking an enriching and fulfilling education in design.

Kelvin Hall is a fantastic venue that beautifully blends Glasgow’s rich heritage with modern design. The building itself is stunning, and the way the museum has been refurbished makes it a pleasure to explore. With its incredible exhibitions spanning everything from ancient artifacts to the latest scientific discoveries, there’s truly something for everyone here. What stands out the most is the variety of collections — the displays on science, history, and the natural world are fascinating and very informative. I particularly loved the interactive exhibits, which made the experience more engaging. The space is also very accessible, with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re a visitor to Glasgow or a local, Kelvin Hall offers a unique experience that’s definitely worth your time. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area!

I was a bit confused to walk through the entrance and find myself in a sports centre. Approaching the desk I enquired about the museum and was told there wasn't one. I pointed out the sign that said 'Museum of Glasgow Life'. They explained the museum consisted of a few displays along its main corridor, but there was not a proper museum. I headed off down the corridor and found a few bits. It took about ten minutes to see them all. It was free to enter. Further research shows the building is used as a storage area for museum artifacts. To access this area you have to book a tour. Many of the photos people have put up here are actually for the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which is across the road. Kelvin Hall is disability accessible. It is not worth a special trip just to see the 'museum' here, but you might as well have a look if you are using the sports facilities. I did not do the museum tour, so cannot rate it. I also did not partake of the sports facilities, so I have not rated them.

Not been here for some time and the place has be refurbished since the last time I visited many years ago. The building is of course magnificent. I came here not for the sports but the museum collections. Housed in the Kelvin Hall is a collection resulting from a partnership between the National Library of Scotland and other Glasgow museums. Kelvin Hall now provides a shared collections storage facility with public access called the Kevin Hall Open Collection. So now housed in this one building are the National Library's digital and moving image collections, collections from the Hunterian and other Glasgow Museums. Nice place to to spend an afternoon of eclectic museum collections

I actually went part way through the show to get a couple of drinks & whilst it was quieter & gave staff time to get the order right, by the time I got back to the seat & handed over a 'gin & tonic' to my partner - there was only tonic in the drink! I was going to go back & complain, but my partner said just to leave it. At the prices they are charging, I wonder if others have been duped into thinking they are getting what they pay for... One reason why I never regularly go to these arenas.

Arriving at Exhibition Rail Station ( suggest the OVO branding is included on both rail tickets self service machines and station signage ) - a bit like stepping back to 1990 - the footbridge from station to Exhibition centre ) OVO could have been better presented - lost opportunity to showcase the venu. The OVO is of its time - very 2000s - the high security fencing gave a ' don't mess with us' feel - and to be fair probably needed. The OVO clearing built to a budget - no carpets / mimalisist ( but surprisingly comfortable) seating that has stood the test of time - holding over 12,000 people this is a big operation and i have to say seemed very well staffed and tried and tested systems to manage so many people. All seats positioned with decent view of stage - it is huge - in the top 10 sized Venus in the world and 2nd busiest to Madison Square Gardens! As is pretty much expected in a Glasgow venue there was a fight in the audience during the show - 4 x lady's - a mix of drink and sence of entitlement triggered a punch up that venue security dealt with well - very professional and the offenders removed and their victims helped away by paramedics - unfortunate but not unexpected. Very impressed how at end of show the dispersal of 12,000 people again was impressive. So on the whole a good experience and hats off to how the complex is managed.

Brilliant night with Lewis Capaldi the only thing is there should be extra transport on so late at night Glasgow to Edinburgh if you miss the last bus or train at 11.30 there’s no way home. When you leave the venue it’s so busy your not guaranteed to get to bus or train station within the hour but apart from that great venue all round
T M — Google review
First time visiting this venue but definitely won't be the last. Arena gigs often feel too big but the layout of the Hydro meant even a big concert felt like an intimate experience. Food options aren't great but that's not why you come here. Only criticism (and it's very minor) was that it would be nice to have water refill points - we paid for a drink to get a reusable cup but was disappointed that you couldn't refill with water.

5 stars and 6 if I could. For 30 odd pound an hour of fun was well worth it. So. Many things to do and most things like go carts were manned by students which is good. Really happy we went. Will go again in the future.

Visited Flip Out Glasgow for the 12 noon session on 23rd August. I was a bit apprehensive after reading mixed reviews about customer service, but I was pleasantly surprised. While the staff weren’t overly smiley, they were all lovely, easygoing, and helpful. The café staff were especially friendly. The venue itself is spacious with plenty of room to move around, which made the experience comfortable. Although Flip Out is starting to feel a bit dated and could benefit from a refresh or better lighting, the variety of activities is great. We never felt rushed or uncomfortable, and the kids had an amazing time. A couple of downsides: we had to purchase Flip Out socks even though we had other branded ones, and spectators are charged entry. I understand it though—running a business or a venue of this size can be costly, so based on that, I think it’s a fair price. The spectator fee does include a hot beverage or £3.50 off food and drink, which i suppose is decent enough. Overall, we had a great day and will definitely return. It seems like they’ve taken past feedback on board, and it shows.

Good place for a rainy day, staff are helpful and down to earth, laser tag is well layed out, lots of trampolines, the bumper cars and go karts are fun for kids so is the donut slide, loads had great fun, was good to get a cuppa and relax while kids burnt off energy

This place is really fun and exciting! Although it’s a bit pricey, it’s definitely a great spot to spend a weekend day. There are plenty of activities like trampolines, tube slides, soft play, electric cars, and more. I just hope they add some carpeting at the entrance area to make it more comfortable. Overall, I recommend going with your family—you’ll have a great time!
Zara — Google review
We had a party organised there which was a great experience, I would say that even though the facilities are great and kids had a great time we all left the party disappointed due to only 1 hour of play time. I would add 30 mins of play time after the party room so kids have a little of play time together and all leaving the place happy and not disappointed that there is a cake and go home. Its only 30 mins that improves so much of parent's and kid's overal experience. That also applies when we are giving reccomendations as atm i am stressing the shortness of the experiance. I need to stress that Flip Out with all the facilities it has it should be brasier during weekends. It's not that busy as it should be. Lots of party rooms are not used the place feels empty. The facilities should be busier especially on holidays and weekends. I would recommend the place to other parents if it is better value for money and adding on 30mins to the experience whilst changing the price does give more value for money and a higher customer satisfaction.

Great night the atmosphere in the club was warm a friendly. The comedy was very good and the prices at the bar good value and prompt service. I thought £20 a ticket was great value will be back again. Also point of note there are some great restaurants around the ckub to choose from thanks guys for a great night of laughs 👍

Wonderful theatre and staff at Webster's theatres and old church on the corner at Great western road. Right beside Kelvinbridge subway so easy to get to. Gorgeous architecture, tastefully transformed into a bar/restaurant on one side and a large theatre space on the other. Sound and lighting were good, the staff were friendly and helpful. Good, clean facilities, disabled access and toilets, lots of seating/church pews in the bar and snug, it really is pretty, due to all the stained glass and archways.

Went yesterday to see Monty Franklyn at the new venue at Great Western Rd. (Better and slightly bigger than previous venue,). He was amazing, v v funny man and I'd recommend him to others if they get the chance to see him. The first comedian didn't come close to offer us any meaningful entertainment, however each to their own. Monty gets 10/10!! We're still laughing 😃
Eileen K — Google review
Great new venue, bit more open space, loses a teeny bit of the charm and closeness compared to the old one. However still a great venue and staff. The bar stocks "karma cola" or something as an alternative to coca cola which I wasn't a fan of personally. However I'm assuming this is due to ethical reasons or something. However, if this is the worst thing about the venue, that tells you all you need to know!

This is a great space utilising the gothic grandeur of a Victorian church to create the cosy public bar with West brewery favourites St Mungo and Heidi Weiss on tap, and the comedy area with tables for your booze while you enjoy the talent that tread the boards. A beautiful space used perfectly to allow you to howl the roof off with like-minded bams.

Kibble Palace is a stunning historical greenhouse situated in the heart of Glasgow Botanic Gardens. This popular public park is a beloved spot for both locals and visitors, offering a serene escape from the urban hustle. The gardens boast diverse flora from around the world, including species from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, China, and Japan. Visitors can enjoy leisurely activities like picnicking or taking romantic strolls amidst this botanical paradise.
It gets very hot inside on warm sunny days (obviously), so I would recommend going on a cooler day. However, I still enjoyed it and it's free.
M S — Google review
Kibble Place, one of the two botanical houses within the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, is one of the most recognizable buildings due to its striking white and tall dome, visible from far away. Inside, the climate is more moderate, almost identical to the outside. The greenhouse is vast and beautiful, with a spread-out flow that allows for a sense of freedom. Marble statues add a touch of Greek style to the space. The central dome, housing larger plants, is surreal and awe-inspiring. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Kibble Place and spending at least an hour exploring. It’s definitely worth your time, and there are plenty of opportunities to capture memorable photos. The best part? It’s free to enter!

Lovely place to visit, especially if you're within walking distance. Unfortunately there is only street parking, which is quite expensive. Through the Ringo App. The grounds are a nice place to chill on a hot afternoon. The glasshouses are very interesting and at least they are free or at least a donation. There is also a tea room which does some lovely food. A bit controversial as their scones are not true scones, that's not to say they weren't nice. They were more like fruit buns. It certainly doesn't detract from anything. Overall a lovely experience

If you want a informative excursion that is beautiful and free this is it! This building hold 1000's of different plant species which is beautiful on its own but its supplemented with architecture and art. They have many pieces from all over the world and they cater the main green house by global region. My favourite thing so far in Glasgow!

One of the highlights, the very top of the list, of my first visit to Glasgow. The Glasgow Botanical Garden is a must visit, whatever your interests maybe, and there is so much history there. After a warm friendly welcome and full briefing from Heather, my wife, 12 year old daughter and myself tried oceans escape. Room was clean and well maintained with everything working well. A challenging room with a wide variety of puzzles and challenges which kept it all interesting and tense. We needed a couple of nudges in the right direction to stop us stalling which was fine as time was tight due to the number of challenges. We have done lots of escape rooms and this one was limited really to one room but was still right up there and I’d recommend it.

The Magic Emporium escape room was well themed. A linear room with a good mix of traditional padlocks and RFI mechanisms. Had a slight issue w something I painted having a very minor crack under the surface (this wasn’t the fault of the business - it was a supplier issue), however, The Craft offered me a giftcard for the full price and were so apologetic! Also there was a café right next to it, free toilets and one of the Glasgow Greens’ park playground.

The amount of red flags this place has is unreal, looked over 10 various bikes, karts and modified firstly tread non existent, seats not secure, rims not true, brakes not functional, steering brackets loose and rusty. The list could go on, other issues children allowed in with no experience or safety (helmets) 2+ rides going excessive fast with small children trying to have safe fun. Overall in the short space of time we visited there was 4 accidents and zero first aid knowledge. Beware your child is not safe and I don’t mean a cut or graze these people have no control and no sense to oversea this and a child will be seriously injured either through faulty equipment or user negligence. You have been warned and I do hope this warning is taken seriously.

The Willow Tea Rooms, located at 217 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3EX, United Kingdom, is a charming cafe designed in 1904 with an Art Nouveau theme. It was created during the temperance movement to provide an elegant space for enjoying tea instead of alcohol. Architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh oversaw its construction, and extensive restoration has preserved its original style. The menu features a traditional three-tiered cake tray with baked treats and sandwiches.
I visited the Willow Tea Rooms with my mom and we had such a lovely time! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the unlimited tea was such a treat. We really enjoyed being able to sit, relax, and chat over endless cups. A wonderful experience I’d happily recommend to anyone visiting.☕️🩷

I tried their afternoon tea set, around £40 for two. It was a nice experience. My partner particularly really liked the smoked salmon sandwich and meringue. I LOVE the fruit scones with butter and jam. Unpretentious and very charming. Tea was nice and hot, in a pretty teacups. I do not know if they can do hot water refill though. Even though they can do walk-ins, I recommend to get a booking since they get busy at times. Conveniently located in Buchanan Street, perfect for a pit stop after a stroll/shopping.

I've always wanted to go but we are usually too busy. This year we managed to visit the Tea Rooms on Buchanan St. It didn't disappoint. I'm unsure whether there is a lift, but the stairs to enter are a little daunting given my slight disability, but I managed it. Absolutely stunning decor, as expected with a cute gift shop. All of the staff are chatty and helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The food was amazing and beautifully presented.

The Tenement House is a 4-room flat that offers a glimpse into the daily lives of people in early 20th-century Glasgow. Despite its unassuming exterior, this middle-class tenement holds an authentic time capsule with original fixtures and fittings. Visitors are transported to the past, experiencing firsthand how many people lived during that era. The stories of long-term residents and the property's journey to becoming part of the national trust add to its fascination.
The house contains a cache of items from 1911 to 1965 that belonged to the previous owner, Miss Agnes Toward. Each room is laid out how she would have lived in it, from her homemade jam in the cupboard to the sewing machine that she used as a dressmaker. There are only six rooms to visit. Two on the entrance floor explain how Tenement houses were used and how the National Trust came to own the property. On the next floor, the four rooms are the actual areas where she lived. There is also a room that contains replica items you can handle and a children's information area. All rooms were very interesting and well laid out. There is a cafe and a small souvernir shop. Prices were reasonable. If you are planning on eating in the cafe, check the opening times as sometimes it closes earlier than the rest of the property. Staff were very welcoming and happy to chat. There are toilets on the ground floor. There is no disabled access to the property. There are 15 steps to the entrance and further steps to the rooms. The rooms are small and full of items, so it would not be possible to move a wheelchair around. Original gas lighting is used, so some rooms had low lighting.

Very interesting indeed. I personally would have wanted to see how different levels of people lived in those days, not only one specific person, but even with that (which is a very personal desire), it was great. There is also a cute little sitting area with dress up clothing for kids and coffee machine and snacks for the adults. The staff is above compare and friendly.

Visiting The Tenement House in Glasgow was like stepping into a time capsule—I absolutely loved it. The preserved details, from the coal-fired range to the original gas lighting, made it feel like Miss Agnes Toward had just stepped out for a moment. I was struck by how intimate and authentic everything felt, offering a quiet but powerful glimpse into early 20th-century life. The staff were warm and knowledgeable, and the whole experience had a cozy, nostalgic charm. It’s a hidden gem that made me appreciate the everyday history behind ordinary lives.

An absolute gem of a place! A really lovely surprise. A time machine showcasing how people lived in tenement houses late 19th-early 20th century. So very interesting definitely worth a visit. Shouldn't take more than 30-40 mins.

A perfectly authentic and real experience of Glaswegian tenement history. Staff upstairs are full-to-the-brim with relaxed friendliness and knowledge. Very atmospheric with a historical feel!

I visited back in February. It is a very lovely museum, which is a great personal insight to life in the past. Everything inside is as it was, back in the good old days. The decor is very beautiful, and with a lovely view outside too. I hope to visit again soon!

Cute little museum that shows the life of an ordinary Glasglow resident in the early 1900s! It's quite small, just a few rooms, and took us under an hour to thoroughly see. Nice, but not necessarily a must-see given all the incredible free museums in the area.
Suzette W — Google review
Filled with the actual household items -- furniture and piano, cook stove, dishes and cookware, art and books, clothing and personal items -- owned by the last occupant who lived there for most of her life. News articles on the wall from the 1930s and earlier amplify the life back then. Well worth the time and effort to get there to see it. Thank you to the trust for keeping it so pristine and original.

The Glasgow Police Museum offers a fascinating look into the history of the City of Glasgow Police, which was established in 1800 as Britain's first professional police force. Located in downtown Glasgow and operated by volunteers, the museum features interactive displays and activities for visitors of all ages. From dressing up in police uniforms to participating in competitions and quizzes, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Amazing collection. Museum is not very big, but full of interesting things and stories. Big bonus is the staff, former policemen. They were so funny and we ended up chatting with them in the end. Highlight of the day.
Pavla J — Google review
Very interesting museum, with some knowledgeable, helpful staff on hand to offer an introduction plus any further information you might require. It's not very big inside, but there are plenty of fascinating stories and history anecdotes to read along with items, uniforms, medals and curiosities to look at. Photos are allowed. It is up on the first floor and entrance is free. Donations are welcome and should be encouraged in my opinion.
Dave P — Google review
Great little museum, staffed by two very kind and chatty ex-policemen. Good to have a place to share the history and stories of the people who do this important work. It's quite a bit of reading, but there's also a lot of things to see. They have police uniforms from all over the world, which is quite impressive. You need to call at the door to be let in. Recommended for a visit if you're interested in local history and policing in general.
Max B — Google review
Really interesting free museum run by ex-serving police officers, one of my fave recent museums I’ve been to. Lots of interesting stories to read with memorabilia of how the police used to run back in the day. I donated £6 but it is entirely up to your own discretion what you’d like to donate.
Jason G — Google review
The museum is compact and yet displays a large amount of information and history about the police force in Glasgow. The 2 former cops running the place are passionate about the artefacts and the history behind them; the worldwide uniform and police force patch is a private collection on display full of stories and a lifetime dedication which has been even awarded with a MBE medal. We had great talks and even saw some family pictures; the human side of this corner of Glasgow is insanely vivid and deserves your attention and donation.
Gustavo W — Google review
Staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. They were retired policemen, with vast knowledge and shared that knowledge with us. Here are just a few photos that were taken.

It is a must visit if you are interested in police and security service. It contains stories of the Glasgow police for and has an exhibition of police uniforms and their insignia. Quite informative and very good staffs. It si free to visit.

A great stop for doors open. I’m not that interested in policing, but I found the stories and sense of history compelling. A variety of batons and dress from the 1800s on.

Excellent! First class racing on a very competitive circuit, a friendly crowd and an excellent little stadium. A grand way to spend a Friday evening. Been driving past the Tigers stadium for years and never really knew what it was about or thought it would be something I'd be into. However, looking for something different to do I took my partner and 2 kids (11 and 14) for our first Speedway event tonight and we all loved it. Great racing action, a dramatic crash (the guy was thankfully ok), good atmosphere, the ground staff were really friendly and the food and drink was surprisingly reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back.
D R — Google review
I've been watching speedway since the mid 1960s so have experienced most of the highs and lows that the sport has to offer. I've watched through the JAP, 2 valve Jawa, various 4 valve uprights and the modern lay-down engines and can honestly say that the 2025 season has, in my opinion, provided the most consistently brilliant racing that I can remember. It helps having Bomber producing impossible overtakes, of course. However, evvery member of the team fights hard for points and deserves their place. We have a good blend of youth, improving middle order riders and solid experienced riders. It would be nice (and well deserved) if we were to collect some silverware but, for me, the quality of the racing is most important. The Facennas are also the best promotion that I have experienced, putting heart, soul and finance (where needed) into the team, track and stadium. The entertainment has been fantastic - I'm already looking forward to next season even though we will be forced to lose some of the team (as always).

Provand's Lordship is a unique medieval house museum located in Glasgow, Scotland. It is the oldest remaining house in the city, dating back to 1471 and one of only four surviving medieval buildings. The museum showcases 17th-century Scottish furniture, historic royal portraits, and meticulously arranged rooms with interiors spanning from the 1500s to the 1700s. Additionally, visitors can explore the St Nicholas Garden on the premises.
Well worth a visit. The restoration has been done to a high standard, love the stone walls and wooden beams. Very interesting place, with loads of historical facts and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Nice garden outside with gargoyles all around.

Free entry. Mediaeval building - only it and cathedral survive from this period in Glasgow. Small visitor section, short video explaining history and then can wander around. Rooms on upper floors have various artworks relating to building and surrounding ding area. Garden to rear was lovely on a sunny spring day. Staff knowledgable.

One of the four surviving medieval buildings in Glasgow. It is worth a visit to see the original architecture; the pretty garden and the 17th-century furniture. Entry is free. Staff were welcoming. You are offered a long or quick verbal history of the house before you explore. There are no toilets in the house. The garden is wheelchair accessible. The house is not fully wheelchair accessible.

A beautiful part of Glasgow I’ve never explored before. Loved visiting this house. A step back in time. Doesn’t take long to have a quick whiz around if you’re with kids. Took me longer as I like to read all the information posters.

I've not been here for many years and I nearly walked passed as its been refurbished beautiful inside and out with all the historical pieces. The video at the start was very interesting and it said that Mary, queen of Scots had stayed there for a while it's a very calming building and well worth a visit if in the area ( don't forget to check out the garden area)

Wonderful museum and one of the last medieval buildings left in Glasgow!! And free entry!!! So much history here that is worth reading further on as well. Very friendly docents working . There are stairs so be mindful it is not fully handicap accessible.

Weary traveller do like old buildings? If you don't, you are in the wrong place. Glasgow has old buildings, this happens to be the oldest of the buildings. It is currently a museum, prior to that it was the house of the hangman. Who would like to hang with that man? It is a small or as the Scots would say a wee museum. You should put it on your visit list the price is right. Don't forget to visit the wee garden.
Raymond A — Google review
The building is named after one of its owners, Sir George Skene (1619-1708), a wealthy merchant and Provost of Aberdeen from 1676 to 1685. The house was used by Hanoverian troops as a billet during the Jacobite rebellion and the Duke of Cumberland stayed here on his way to Culloden....the museum has a large collection of pioneering people of scotland ...also including a few pics of the area around the house in Aberdeen

Silverburn is a contemporary shopping and entertainment destination located just a short drive from Glasgow City Centre. Boasting over 100 upscale stores, including department stores and independent boutiques, this architecturally inspired space offers a diverse shopping experience. Visitors can also enjoy the newly opened 14-screen Cineworld cinema, featuring the latest films and a wall-to-wall Superscreen. Additionally, Silverburn provides various dining options and leisure activities such as free parking and car charging facilities.
Love coming to Silverburn! It’s big, clean, and has loads of great shops—everything from high street fashion to fancier brands, plus new stores keep popping up which keeps it fresh. Parking is free (huge bonus in Glasgow) and there’s always space. The cinema, restaurants, and cafés make it perfect for a full day out, not just shopping. The place is super modern and the toilets are actually some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a mall. It can get a bit hectic on weekends, but if you go during the week it’s really chilled. Overall, one of the best places to shop and hang out in the city.
Aathif A — Google review
Great place for a rainy day shop but a lot of the shops I really liked have closed. Its very long so I suggest parking near to where you want to shop. There is a great mobility section for anyone who needs to request a scooter or similar and lots of covered wheelchair parking. Do not park in Tesco car park if you plan to spend some time in Silverburn, there is limited parking time and you will receive a fine.
Dianne D — Google review
Lovely clean shopping centre that’s getting ruined with poor quality shops. Cannot walk down the aisle without being bombarded with outlets selling full of sugar over processed crap. I’m fed up of my kids pestering me for this rubbish that I now try avoid shopping here. They also have just opened a haribo shop just in case you need to feed your sugar addiction..

These pretzels used to be amazing and far superior to Auntie Annie's. Purchased 3 x cinnamon and sugar for £4.95 each. One of the old ones, pre-covid would equate to two of the current sized ones. The size of them now is nothing short of disgraceful! Nearly double the price and half the size, pre-covid. Definitely won't be back! 🙄

Impressive shopping centre, almost airport-like in its presentation, varied food selections on the food court to cater for everyone. Price range of the stores are typical for such centres with many being very reasonable.

Swung by for a Costa coffee Capuchin. The car park is vast so it's good to know where the retail unit you want to visit is located. It's right by the main entrance - very easy to find when you know where but otherwise a long walk. Friendly and up to Costa coffee high standard.

Princes Square Shopping Centre, established in 1988, is a premier shopping and dining destination in Glasgow. It houses a variety of shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes for visitors to enjoy. The center features designer retailers like Kurt Geiger and Vivienne Westwood as well as independent boutiques such as COS and Kate Spade New York. Additionally, it offers a diverse range of dining options including Spanish tapas, Italian cuisine, and grill selections.
Princes Square is a hidden gem right in the middle of Glasgow’s busiest street. Once you step inside, it feels like you’ve entered a completely different world—elegant, calm, and full of charm. The interior design is stunning, with its glass ceiling, stylish staircases, and artistic details. It’s not your typical shopping centre; it’s more like a blend of boutique shopping, fine dining, and art. Perfect place for a quiet coffee, a classy dinner, or just wandering around in style. A must-visit if you’re in the city centre!
Mrs. G — Google review
The shopping centre was nice! It had lots of shops to choose from. From food to desserts to clothes, they have it all! They also have many luxury shops to pick from if you have a larger budget. The actual design of the building was pretty neat too, with the shops accessable from the inside AND the outside. All in all a great shopping place, although not too many things to offer though.
Braden L — Google review
Although it's a beautiful shopping centre with many floors with lifts, I felt it was a bit empty and much space was wasted. I specially liked the Louis Parfum shop at the terrace, the girl attending is very kind and will help you with any doubt about any fragrance you are looking for.

This place is wild, crazy cool building. Totally dead before 10 am, and many of the shops seem to be on the expensive side, but I had an excellent time sipping hot chocolate on the balcony.

Princes Square is a beautiful shopping and dining spot - the building’s interior design and architecture are elegant, with a lovely glass roof and stylish decor. It’s a pleasant place to walk around or grab a coffee. However, the selection of shops is quite limited, focusing mostly on high-end brands. It’s not the best place if you’re after variety or budget options. Worth a visit for the ambience and restaurants, but not ideal for serious shopping.
Oliver J — Google review
Sadly like most places right now, a lot of shops are closed up, the ones open are clean for the most part. We came down for a memory walk, lots has changed in 25 years. Hopefully recovery will come along and breathe the vitality we remember back. We expected a bunch of buskers, but only saw one.
Arlene D — Google review
The shops are numerous and celebrated. If you can stomach the graffiti and rubbish on the buildings and ground, you will be just fine. The safety looks dubious but there was no imminent threat. I experienced only one beggar and one hawker; the rest of the shopping was normal. If you're in Glasgow, don't hesitate to visit just because of a little debris. Find a car park and pay for your parking.

The Glasgow Science Centre Tower, also known as the Millennium Tower, holds the Guinness World Record for being the tallest full-rotating freestanding structure in the world. Standing at 127 meters high, it offers sweeping panoramic views of Glasgow's city center and surrounding landscape. Designed by Richard Horden and Buro Happold, this impressive structure can rotate 360 degrees, providing visitors with a unique vantage point.
It was a bit tricky to find the entrance but it was a great experience. You can have a nice birds eye view of the city. Plus, our guide was very knowledgeable about the history and the area. It's only 9.5 pounds (around $13) but you get to be at the 2nd tallest structure in Glasgow and have an awesome city view as far as the mountain ranges. I recommend it for sure. Note that they are weather dependant so if it's raining or windy they will be closed. So, better check the weather before confirming your visit. Do not recommend pre-booking.

Peter M — Google review
Good, enjoyed it, but not great. Conveniently located next to science centre, but because of that it only goes to the towers height from the river level. I've seen towers like this usually located on some elevation compared to city centre, which would be easily done with Glasgows elevation differences - the view could be way better at even half the current hight of the tower itself.
Paweł P — Google review
Great to see it open again so finally got to experience Glasgow from high up Check website before travelling to see if tower is open but if it's not theres loads for the younger ones to have fun with at the science centre itself... Finally managed to get up the tower today! Well worth a visit (come on a calm day as the tower closes when wind is more than 25mph). The view is stunning and you can see so much from 100odd meters off the ground. I've been up the Berlin Fernsehenturm and you can see way more from Glasgow tower (and the windows are cleaner)

Showed up a bit after they opened on what had been a gray and rainy day. We ended up being the first group up as they apparently can't operate the elevator when the wind is over a certain speed. The Glasgow City Chambers, located in the heart of George Square, is a 19th-century architectural gem designed by Scottish architect William Young. This Victorian landmark, opened by Queen Victoria in 1888, boasts opulent interiors featuring Italian marble staircases, mosaic ceilings, gold leaf accents, and stained glass. Serving as the headquarters for the City Council of Glasgow today, it offers guided tours that provide insight into Scottish political and civic history.
Free tours are available weekdays 10:30 and 14:30, any it works as first come first serve basis, starting to give out visitor cards 30 minutes before the appointments. You can walk around the ground floor without the guided tour too which is already spectacular, but I highly recommend to join the tour - even though the guide's Scottish accent was so strong I just gave up listening after a while 😅. But it's my fault, the building is like Hogwarts indeed.

We had a great tour of the place by one of the tour guides although some places were closed due to meetings. However the architecture was amazing and definitely a hidden gem in Glasgow. Tours are however available at limited times only but it is definitely worth the visit.

Build during Victorian time this building and the architecture is priceless. The City Chambers is western Europe's largest marble staircase, built using Carrara marble imported from Italy. It is credited with having more marble than the Vatican. Must book a tour in advanced if want to see more. The only times that are being offered are 10:30am and 2:30pm Monday-Friday, excluding the public holidays etc.

We came here for a tour but we were told by the many stately doormen outside, that we were able to visit inside... ONLY to sign our condolences for the Queen, and then leave promptly. Promptly?! Well then! We said yes please and bowed ackwardly. (Come on! They were in suits, what would you have done?!) What a gorgeous and opulent building inside. The stairwell up to the "Book of Condolences" was quite the regal climb, but much more satisfying waltzing back down...nice and slow, regal like. Nothing like strutting down marble and red carpet. Too bad no one saw us though! We looked good.

If you're planning a visit to Glasgow, the City Sightseeing Glasgow tour bus is an absolute must! This hop-on hop-off service features 28 convenient stops, making it the perfect way to explore the city's vibrant attractions in just one or two days. Families will appreciate the ease of travel, especially with kids in tow—no need to worry about hailing cabs for larger groups.
The best City Sightseeing Tour I've experienced! Buses were on time and didn't have to wait long for a bus. Customer Service was great. The team was all about ensuring guests had a decent experience. They also did their best to help visitors explore the city by providing general directions and information about museums, like opening hours on Sunday. Started early in the day and got a great overview of the city. The information and history was great and fun. The live tour on the red route was funny. Rob was good, providing nice tidbits about Glasgow, both major landmarks and little known places. The yellow route is great way to see portions of the city outside major attractions and the city centre. Price was £27 for 2-day ticket. Well worth the money. Well done!!

First time in Glasgow and what an amazing city of culture it is. Loved every minute of it. We did the Red Hop on Hop off bus. Jumped on at stop 15 but it wasn't very well signed posted for some reason! All the other stops are.... It was a very short break but would love to go back. Great choice of cultural activities, sightseeing, food outlets and shops.

~ 5 star experience! Not only are you on a super cool bus which are run by amazing people but you get to see the whole of Glasgow too! Learn cool facts alongside the best dad jokes (thanks Jim xoxo). I get motion sickness but thanks to Steven’s smooth driving I did not get any! Honestly best way to see the city and you can stop at any of the sights and catch the bus again when it comes back later! Also didn’t feel like one of those money grabbing business but people who are genuinely love Glasgow and want to get to know you, even if their (Jim’s) Welsh impressions suck ◡̈ ❤️Jim & Steven best two guys there❤️

A Must-Do in Glasgow! I had a fantastic experience with Glasgow Hop and Go, even with limited time in the city. I hopped on the red bus around 2:00 PM due to my tight schedule, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. Our guide, Pauline, was a local with incredible knowledge of Glasgow's history, culture, and hidden gems. Her storytelling brought the city to life! Driver Steve was equally welcoming, making the ride comfortable and smooth from start to finish. Both added a personal, friendly touch that made the experience even more memorable. The ticket cost around $24.00 USD, which I found very reasonable for the quality and convenience offered. The route covers all the major landmarks, and you can hop on and off at your own pace. That said, I would definitely recommend starting earlier in the day—especially if you want time to explore museums, galleries, or other attractions at the stops. Starting in the morning gives you a full day to soak up the city’s charm. Whether you're in Glasgow for a day or a week, this is one of the best ways to get oriented and enjoy the city's sights with ease. Highly recommended!

Great way to see the sights of Glasgow. The ticket gets you access to hop on hop off tours on two routes. The red route is basically the inner city area (would strongly recommend the live tour over the taped tour) and the yellow tour covers the outer areas. Craig was great on our live tour and made the experience even better.

Best way to experience and explore the city if you have never been here before. I would suggest the 2 day ticket rather than one if you have the time. Takes about 70 minutes to do the whole route. Get on and off as much as you would like. The bus stops have the sight seeing logo at the stops. Not always easy to find but make note of the drop offs!

Our exhilarating adventure in Glasgow kicked off with the highly anticipated Big Bus hop-on, hop-off city tour, the ultimate way to dive into the electric energy of this vibrant city! We rolled into town on Friday, September 12th, and immediately scored the ideal parking spot at NCP 15151 Kings Street, just a stone's throw away from the lively Glasgow Queens Rail Station—our gateway to an unforgettable journey! Equipped with both the A and B tour routes, we were ready to soak it all in, despite the unpredictable Scottish weather trying to dampen spirits with a chilly drizzle! The buses were perfectly timed, and their strategically placed stops throughout the city made it a breeze to hop on and off. We bravely embraced the elements aboard the open-top bus, feeling the exhilarating rush of the wind and cold as we clutched our umbrella. Some adventurous souls opted for the back seats, happily embracing the rain and huddling under their own umbrellas like true thrill-seekers, while most of us dove into the cozy, sheltered first carriage, grateful for a little warmth. Looking back, we couldn’t help but wish for more time to explore the science museum—it would have been a highlight for sure! The audio guide added another layer of excitement to our journey, enriching both tours, and even if some sights overlapped, we didn’t mind one bit. Exploring the city with the Big Bus tour was an absolute thrill, and we’re already buzzing with excitement at the thought of doing it all again during our future travels! Along the way, we met an incredible group of women from London, Sussex, and Seaside. We shared travel stories and discovered they had just come from Edinburgh, stepping off at the same stop! What a delightful coincidence—turns out they were staying at a Holiday Inn Express too, though at a different location! These magical moments filled with warm connections and friendly faces truly elevate any travel experience. As we ventured through Glasgow, we marveled at the massive changes taking place around us, especially near the bustling downtown area of George Square. While the city didn’t exactly match our online expectations, it certainly showcased its own unique charm that made our visit unforgettable. We couldn't be more thrilled to check Glasgow off our travel bucket list, and we simply can't wait to return and witness all the new vibrancy waiting for us! Riding the city’s hop-on, hop-off bus tour, complete with friendly and helpful drivers, is an absolute must for any traveler. Don’t just think about it—jump in and experience the magic!

We were standing 5 meters from the bus stop when the bus went right by us. Waved, the driver saw us, pointed to the pole and just kept going. The bus was not full and the area was in a cul-de-sac not busy. Honestly too bad because up until now we've found the Scottish people to be so friendly and helpful.
