Dumpling restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Cafe Oriental Dumpling Bar, located in Cambridge, is a small but popular spot offering a wide selection of delicious Chinese dishes. Visitors rave about the amazing food and friendly staff, with particular praise for the delectable dumplings. The menu features items like shrimp dumplings, dried tofu salad, and cream custard buns.
A very impromptu lunch yesterday. We walked past and could smell the deliciousness. It was so busy, which is always a good sign. Lucky enough we got the last table, sat down and quickly orders. I had the Stir Fried Pork Mince & Noodles and my hubbie had Stir Fried Noodles with Chicken (no photo as he ate it too quickly 🤦🏻‍♀️) and both dishes were delicious! Its a very cute cafe, that’s serving, what feels like, good home cooked Oriental food. Couldn’t ask for more. Perfect for a weekend impromptu lunch and will definitely go back!

Incredibly value, great service. I was sat near the door so it did get a bit chilly at times, but staff kept checking that I was okay, etc. Cash only. Can’t wait to return and try new dishes!
Katie S — Google review
Went for dinner with friends! Had 3 dishes and all were delicious! Would definitely recommend if you like Asian style dumpling and value for money! Will definitely return soon!!
GRIMLOCKFETT — Google review
Amazing food and services! We came here with my parents and the food did not disappoint at all!! Dumplings, both soup ones and fried ones, were all tasty and the chili sauce on the side made it even better! The waitresses who served us last night were super helpful and friendly. We would definitely come back for more dumplings and would highly recommend this place!
J C — Google review
Authentic Chinese food in the heart of Cambridge, great lunch. As you can see from the picture it went down well. Dumplings and buns were top notch.
S H — Google review
Best Asian food restaurant in the middle of Cambridge City centre. Food is simply unbelievable, especially the dumplings. Main dishes are very good and depend on your selection and this restaurant tries to unify many distinct asian plates. The place is tiny with deliveries entering the place every three minutes and that does not help the atmosphere. Another issue is that it is cash only but this is well explained in the front door.
Sergio G — Google review
Good tastes in general. Dry noodles taste great though I’d expect some more meat on it. — update Portion become small lately, feel not full after same order
Matt Y — Google review
It’s not just the best food and best service in Cambridge — it’s the best in the world. The dumplings are simply out of this world; I’ve tried different places, but nothing comes close. The plated dishes are equally extraordinary — every item on the menu offers something different, and each one of them prepared perfectly. Special thanks to Ana, who is truly lovely and made our every visit feel special !

Chinese noodle restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Noodles Plus+ is a great local Chinese takeaway and restaurant. They serve home-made noodles, which are a real drawcard, as well as affordable dumplings. The restaurant is small but can seat 16 people. Delivery is also available.
The best dumplings I’ve had! The handmade noodles were also delicious 😋 Be sure to queue just before 12, as there isn’t much space inside so expect a 30+ min wait if you don’t get in first. For such an amazing selection of food, it’s very cheap too!
Taiga K — Google review
Food was delicious but we waited 40 mins to sit, 20 mins for our order to be taken and an other 40 mins for the food. We were there for 2 hours, and only 20 mins of that was spent eating. We ate under the watchful eyes of hungry customers standing by the door, waiting to eat. The food really was not worth all the wait when there are so many delicious, home made authentic food options on mill road with good service. I strongly urge the owners to hire an extra pair of hands to get food out quicker, seat more people and round off the great food with a decent altogether experience. The food is good and beautifully prepared, all done by hand. Good place to go if it’s quiet.
Mimi A — Google review
A super small Chinese restaurant in Cambridge that offers traditional breakfast. Excellent quality and fair prices, but unfortunately, that also means it’s usually very crowded. You should be prepared for a long wait, but it’s definitely worth it! Once you’re inside, plan to take your time as well, since only two people handle everything on their own. I can really recommend the Hundun (馄饨) and pig’s ears (猪耳朵) - both are delicious! Definitely worth a visit!
Veit B — Google review
Went here for a late lunch around 3pm on a Sunday. Waited for about 30mins for a seat, then another 15 minutes for the woman who runs the restaurant to take our order. It was worth it. The dumplings were delicious. The cold spicy spiced beef tendon was mouth watering with a chili oil that paired well with the dumplings. The beef noodles were exceptional in that the noodles were cooked perfectly, with the meat and broth pairing together to all form an incredible dish. The restaurant is cash only. ATM is at the nearby CO-OP.
Thomas B — Google review
I had the vegetable soup noodles and the black fungus with chilli oil the black ear fungus was very good and delicious the noodles were yummy and the texture was very good but wish the vegetables had more flavour.
Natasha R — Google review
Seriously good food worth trying and a very reasonable price. The owners are also really nice
Louis F — Google review
Best steam buns (and most juicy!) I have ever had!! Don’t think there is a single item in the menu that I wouldn’t order again. Most the time have to queue and wait patiently as all the food is hand made freshly when you ordered, but it’s all worth the wait.
Eirn L — Google review
Our favourite restaurant in Cambridge. We visited often when we lived there, and usually tried to arrive just before opening to avoid the long queues. The xiao long baos are a must order. We also loved to get the pan fried dumplings and noodles with minced pork to complete our order for two. The dumplings were consistently crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and the handmade noodles had a delicious springy bite. Always good with a soy milk on the side. A must visit in Cambridge !

British restaurant
The Cambridge Chop House is an elegant yet rustic restaurant located in a charming vaulted cellar dining room. As the sister restaurant to St Johns Chop House, it offers a traditional British menu with high-quality ingredients, some of which are locally sourced. The establishment is known for its Sunday roast and vegetarian options. Situated on King's Parade near Kings College Chapel, it has received praise from customers for its excellent food and service.
Absolutely lovely food, one of the best meals I've ever had. The portion sizes for the price were more than enough. The food itself had lovely complimentary flavours and the dishes themselves were presented lovely. Waitresses checked often to make sure the food and everything was okay but not too much we felt harrassed.
Leanne B — Google review
Can't rate this place highly enough! They accommodated my request for a specific table, even though we booked quite late, and our slightly awkward changes to standard dishes were dealt with easily and with a smile. The service was fantastic, the food fabulous, and there is a nice choice of non-alcoholic drinks, so we could have some sparkling dealcoholised wine. Would absolutely recommend thst you eat here if you're in Cambridge!
Sarah — Google review
Fabulous Food! This was a great find for us with my family. We were looking for a place that was dog friendly were we could eat outside this summer. The Chop House was perfect. The food was fabulous, they were really nice with our dog (even bringing water in a bowl and the view is incredible. The menu was also large enough to suit all the difficult taste of the four of us. Highly recommended!
Paul V — Google review
Absolutely amazing! One of the highlights of my trip. Coming to the Cambridge Chop House for a Sunday roast was the best decision I made - it completely redefined my view of English cuisine. Now, when I think of English food, I think of their beef Sunday roast. The interior is warm and cozy and its location in the heart of Cambridge makes it perfect for a relaxed lunch after exploring the city. The team is incredibly kind and welcoming. I recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting for Sunday roast. Portions are generous, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!
Tea — Google review
Had an amazing dinner here this weekend, ordered the rib-eye for mains and it was superb, fat beautifully rendered and very delicious with all the trimmings on the side. Wine was lovely too. Service was nice also despite it being a busy Saturday evening. Only thing that could have made the experience better is if our special occasion note on our booking would have been perhaps acknowledged throughout our meal. Although I would definitely still recommend!
Sara — Google review
The restaurant was so disappointing that I haven’t been here for four years. (Yes the steak was bland and lackluster even after two weeks of post-arrival quarantine, and the second meal with friends was equally bad despite the good companionship.) Now with the coming back of tourists, even the staff become ruder than before :) Starters are slow. 40 min wait is unacceptable. Steak is still chewy and tough despite the pinkness. Brighter side- haggis is lovely anyways (redeeming bites); fries are alright; capers are nice addition to the salad. The prawns on the next table are quite impressively large… maybe it can justify +£9 onto add on the salad.
X — Google review
Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious! One of the best tasting roasts I've ever had! The beef was very rare and I wouldn't usually have it like that but it still tasted great

Great steaks, Beef ribs, duck confit, salad, and all that offer. Good vibes and good view of King’s College Chapel. Pretty good options for dessert. Better to make reservations, though

Restaurant
Taj Tandoori, located at 64 Cherry Hinton Road, Cambridge CB1 7AA England, is a well-established Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant offering an extensive menu of halal dishes. As one of the oldest Indian restaurants in Cambridge, it has built a strong reputation for serving delicious food. The restaurant provides a modern dining experience with a takeaway service and operates from Wednesday to Saturday.
If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, look no further than Taj Tandoori, the award-winning Bangladeshi-Indian restaurant that will leave your taste buds dancing. We recently visited for their Sunday roast, and it was absolutely fantastic. The roast was incredibly succulent, bursting with flavor and perfectly spiced. Each bite was a delightful mix of bold, rich tastes that only a true expert in Indian cuisine can deliver. To top it off, the dessert was nothing short of amazing—sweet, indulgent, and a perfect end to a flavorful meal. The mocktails were just as impressive, offering refreshing and delicious flavors that complemented the meal beautifully. We rate this experience a solid 10/10. If you’re planning your summer outings, make sure Taj Tandoori is at the top of your list—you won’t be disappointed!
Khaleda — Google review
Finally got around to visiting you try their Sunday roast and we'll definitely be visiting many more times. The meat was beautifully cooked and spiced. The potatoes were crispy and the Yorkshire pudding was an inspired choice of flavors. They were also great with children: I was a little worried about the lack of kids menu but they were very accommodating and our normally fussy 3 year old filled himself to bursting!
Toby G — Google review
We had a lovely meal at this Indian restaurant in Cambridge. The staff were friendly and gave helpful advice about the menu. We started with a tasty appetizer, followed by butter chicken and a slow-cooked lamb dish. Both were well-spiced and nicely prepared. The atmosphere was relaxed and everything ran smoothly. A great spot if you’re in the mood for good Indian food.
Marijn H — Google review
Second time visiting and this time we tried the Sunday roast. We were curious how you could mix a roast dinner with various flavours and spices but we were not disappointed as it was absolutely delicious! My husband had the tandoori half chicken and I had the vegetarian option - tandoori cauliflower. Will definitely come back again on another Sunday afternoon.

Update: We visited again after 8 months (we live in a different city far away, for reference) and Taj Tandoori didn't let us down. The quality of the food was exceptional as always and the staff were very kind and attentive. Naeem once again was very smiley and happy to see us. He even remembered us from all those months ago. I would highly recommend. Excellent, excellent, excellent!!! We visited twice on a long weekend visit to Cambridge, and were blown away. Truly magnificent, flavourful food with top quality presentation. Not only is the food excellent but the service is also first class. All the staff, especially Naeem, were always smiling and couldn't do enough for you. Seating is ample and comfortable, and love that they have bollywood music playing in the background. If you live in Cambridge, or are just visiting then I would highly recommend Taj Tandoori.
Hems R — Google review
Visited while staying in the area recently - the place looks very impressive. Chose the Scotch egg starter which was very nice and different - the Haryali chicken curry was well cooked but a bit watery. Thought the place was a little too expensive in comparison to others around- not entirely justified?
Anthony S — Google review
Great food and a brilliant personalised service from Faisal. We were wary of the spice levels for some of the dishes and Faisal catered to our needs. We ordered paw bhaji, chicken 65, chaat puri, and gulab jamun - all very delicious.

Found this great place while visiting Cambridge. Arrived and was pleasantly greeted by the staff. Venue was very nice Food was fantastic, especially the mixed grill platter. The lamb was very soft and there was nice ghee mixed with garlic taste on top. The garlic naan was soft was full of flavour. Was all very reasonably priced. Will definitely come back on the next trip to Cambridge.

North African restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in Cambridge, Bedouin offers a relaxed dining experience within a tent-like space adorned with carved wooden furniture. Established in 2011, the restaurant takes its name from the vast territory stretching from North Africa to the Middle East. The authentic North African atmosphere is set by a real Bedouin tent and Sahara wall rugs. It's popular among locals and students, so reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.
What a great place! Amazing ambience! Fantastic food! Excellent service! Lovely pickles dish to start with One fish tagine and one meatball tagine with rice and couscous and an extra tagine bread. Both very tasty and if you want to be really filled then go for the lamb meatball, so much cheese I was unsure I would be able to get up! This is a must visit place!
Brian D — Google review
A randomly selected North African-style restaurant It's really hard to imagine what comes up just based on the ingredients, allergens and cooking methods provided on the menu 😋Fortunately, I didn't make a mistake. The mutton, beef and fish I chose were all super flavorful. As for the main course, I highly recommend that pancake. It's a hundred times better than crushed rice 🥹Appetizer: a plate of pickles. Salt is free. 💔It's unpleasant that the business in the store is so good that we were urged to make way in 10 minutes before we finish our meals.
Xiaoling X — Google review
Very tasty food. Our dishes were especially fresh and healthy. Ambience is great. The restaurant has low cushioned seats, is lined with thick fabrics, and is nice and warm; you feel transported to another world. Attentive and helpful staff. I like that there is no alcohol on the menu. We got a small pot of mint tea which complemented our meal. The Arabic style eton mess dessert was divine. I also think it is great value for money
J L — Google review
Orded the prawns for the starter. The lamb and the marinated chicken as main. Lamb shank is so tender that it fell off the bone easily. All the dishes were full of rich spice aromas. and the bread tasted amazing with the sauce. The mint tea is refreshing. Great food.
Uncle C — Google review
Incredible experience, the food was fantastic and the service was second to none. We enjoyed every dish we ordered: The roast chicken (Djedj M’hamer), Tagine Kefte and Tagine Berkook. All the dishes were deliciously aromatic and very well presented. The service was incredible, the staff anticipated our needs and were beyond polite and friendly. The atmosphere transported us to another world. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it!
Khaled M — Google review
Had a fantastic Moroccan dinner, food was really tasty, perfectly seasoned with subtle spices, huge portions and reasonably priced. We had lamb meatballs, 2 different chicken dishes and a lamb shank stew. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
C K — Google review
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, service was pleasant & this review is based solely on the taste of food. After reading all these positive reviews, I thought I would make this my lunch treat of the day while visiting Cambridge. Server recommended the lamb shank at 23 quids. I love lamb & was highly disappointed when I tasted it. Felt like they boiled it in water till the meat was softened then rolled it around in some tomato base for 10min to warm up the watery sauce & plopped lentils in and a tasteless potato for looks. If meat was done right & stewed for an hour with spices, it should have taste & flavor! The bread they gave me had more salty flavors (albeit blah overall) than the meat. Very displeased & unhappy with this meal & truly would not recommend the lamb or maybe this restaurant overall.

Nestled a bit outside the bustling heart of Cambridge, The Wrestlers Pub is a delightful find for those seeking a unique dining experience. This charming establishment boasts an inviting open interior and serves up an impressive selection of real ales on tap, sourced from nearby breweries like Charlie Wells and BrewPoint. However, what truly sets The Wrestlers apart is its renowned Thai kitchen, offering a menu filled with classic dishes that are both delicious and reasonably priced.
Went here with people from work for our monthly social. Was absolutely blown away by the food. When i asked about a gluten free menu i was told the whole menu could be prepared gluten free and wow was the food amazing and i could eat in comfort knowing that thy obviously knew what they were doing. I got the prawn crackers and the chicken jungle curry.. it was super super tasty loads of perfectly cooked chicken and veggies a very nice portion of jasmin rice and a flavourful curry.. will be going back at every opportunity 10/10!
Roza C — Google review
Thai Pub Reviewing the Cambridge pubs therefore entered this pub. It's a pub with very limited starters. Not even satay skewers and fish cakes? The rice noodles, both the stir fry and soup, were broken mostly. So I need to use a spoon or fork rather than chopsticks to eat. The beef were just basic, the beef in the curry and soup noodle were identical in shape and texture. The portions of the dishes were generally small. It reflects from the prices I guess. The environment and toilets were clean. The staff were nice and helpful. As a restaurant with a Thai menu, the food was not as good as Giggling Squid or Luk Thai. But as a pub, it's impressive to see it doing something different rather than just pub classics. Or customers might forget and wouldn't return.
Pui L — Google review
What a lovely find. Amazing Thai food, beautifully cooked and very good portions. Busy place but managed to find a table easily enough. Great service and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Thank you 👍

I’ve wanted to visit this place for some time, but it’s a bit out of the way. However today it was really close to my hotel so I made a concerted effort to get there. I was not disappointed. The pint of Tribute I had was excellent. I’ve drunk it many times before, but never tasting this good. My Thai chicken jungle curry was excellent and served quickly. A good sized portion for the price. Other customers were sat chatting and grazing on prawn crackers. Highly recommended.

Have heard so many great thinngs about this place and it did not disappoint! The prices for the food served is amazing! The food was delicious, generous portions, lovely staff and great service. Only thing missing you, but didnt ruin meal at all would of been some starter options. Prawn crackers were amazing, the chicken and beef pad thai was perfection, also shared a chicken stir fry with cashews ... NEVER had chicken so tender. Quality of food and freshness was brilliant

Absolutely delicious and authentic food. The service is friendly, professional and prompt. Great selections of drinks. 10/10! We ordered the fried rice with chicken and Panang curry sauce and then a noodle dish with beef - the portions were so generous! We loved every bite! Nice surprise to find good Thai food in a pub. Staff were great, prices reasonable and food delicious. They are happy to make the food to your spice level. I like spicy and it definitely came with some punch. It feels more like a restaurant than a pub as most people were eating and it seems to be local people mainly dining there. Definitely worth a stop for a bite.

Tradizioni is a charming Italian restaurant located in Cambridge, offering a truly authentic Italian dining experience. The menu features a wide variety of traditional pizzas and pastas, complemented by an extensive selection of wines. Guests can enjoy their meals in the cozy indoor setting or opt for outdoor seating. The restaurant's diverse offerings cater to different preferences, from light breakfast options like coffee and pastries to hearty dinner choices with delicious side dishes.
Great restaurant. We tried their pizza (the Andrea and Prosciutto and mushroom pizza) as well as their pasta options (mamma pasta and ragu bolognese). We enjoyed them all. The portions were very well sized for the price and the flavours were good. Our only criticism would be we'd have preferred a little more sauce with our pasta and that in the desert option the ice cream was a bit too cold, making it hard to eat with a spoon. Nevertheless, the service was attentive, the atmosphere warm and comfortable, and food was served remarkably quickly.

Absolutely AMAZING Spot! The food at Tradizioni was top-notch—Fresh, High-Quality ingredients, Cooked to Perfection and Beautifully Presented. You can really taste the Care that goes into Every Dish. The staff were Incredibly Friendly and Welcoming, making us feel right at Home and well Looked After throughout our meal. We were lucky enough to get a Table Outside, and the Atmosphere was just perfect. Soaking up the sun while enjoying great Italian food really made the Experience. This is a great place to have some Italian food. I am not Italian but in my judgment the food is great and at a good price too. I had the Special Seafood Pasta GFO, Focaccia, the gin tonic, and the Tartufo Ice Cream (as dessert). My team tried other meals and starters including the Caprese GF There are enough tables to make up for team day out, for a small team though. There's no parking here, I had to park at Devonshire road- bear in mind you can't drive over the bridge on mill road. So you can park and walk over the bridge to arrive there.

Dining Club Meal-Friday 29 August 2025 My sister and I were the hosts for this meal, and our friends the father and the daughter were the guests, my sister and I arrived at the restaurant, to see our guests already seated and waiting for us to arrive, we went to where our guests were seated, and a waiter soon arrived, to ask us if we wanted a bottle each of both sparkling and still water, to which we all said yes, and soon, one bottle of each quickly arrived, when all our glasses were filled, the waiter returned to take our drinks order. The drinks order went as follows: a pint of Shandy and a Diet Coke, and two Alcohol Free Peronis for the daughter, an Alcohol Free Peroni for my sister, and two San Pellegrino Fizzy Blood Orange Drinks in Cans for myself, the father did not order any Alcoholic drinks, as he told us that he has given up drinking Alcohol, and we all said that was a very commendable thing to do. We did not order any Starter Meals, so we ordered Mains, which were two Pinsa romana Cotto e Funghi, which are two Pizzas with Tomatoes, Mozzarella Cheese, Mushrooms, and Ham, for myself and the Daughter, my sister had the Ortolana, which was Tomatoes, Mozzarella Cheese, Courgettes, Aubergines, and Broccoli, and the Father had Lamb Shoulder Steak medium rare, with Chips, a Mixed Salad, and Garlic Mayonnaise. For the dessert, the daughter had Profiteroles, and the Father, my sister and myself we all had Tiramisu.

Highly recommend the bottarga and Saltimbocca, the best I’ve ever had outside of Italy. Impeccable service and truly amazing wine list, very good suggestions. We had such a stunning time here.

I have been back with my family after a long time. What a place it has become! Tasteful decor, candlelights and friendly service. We ate a very abundant ravioli with lobster which was amazing! We also had the T-Bone steak cooked to perfection and chocolate fondant to die for. The owner, Andrea, helped us choosing a delicious white wine which matched the lobster beautifully. The food was great, the service attentive and discreet all for a more than reasonable price. Thai independent restaurant is a gem in the Mill Road area. Highly recommended

Very good variety of vegan pizzas. 👌🏻 They have a big potential to go even further on making climate action desirable by making the whole menu vegan with plant-based meat alternatives. 😊 Picture: vegan pistachio pesto pizza

Lovely experience , the waiter was very attentive with making sure my order didn’t include gluten and brought over alternatives. Very generous with popadoms and dips and delicious food- thank you!

"The flavors seem a bit mild, and I feel like the tempering might be missing something, maybe ginger and garlic? Also, considering the price, I was expecting a bit more in terms of taste and quality." The table feels a bit unsteady, and it seems a little small for our group. Would it be possible to get a more stable or larger one?" The staff here are really nice and courteous. They are very helpful and attentive."

Staff were excellent: friendly and helpful. Starters were good, but mains were all a uninteresting, lacking depth of flavour. Disappointing compared with my visit approx 4 years ago. Was over £200 for 4 of us incl drinks and tips. A bit pricey for what it was.

Honestly even 3 stars is too much. Price for what you get is terrible. Food was mediocre at best. I’m not sure how they have so many awards. I guess the awards are from a few years back. Firstly waiter was rude unprofessional no element of service. 4 females we had reservations at another restaurant for dinner but we where peckish as our reservation was not for another 4 hours. We chose to come in to have some food to keep us going. We ordered food in a sharing manner mix of starters, few mains some bread and rice. The waiter kept asking us to order more…. Is he paying for it? We explained we are in to tame hunger not abolish it. Food came kebabs where straight out the freezer. We brang this up to the waiter who dismissed it. I picked up the kebab to show him its hard thin and like a rock. He said sorry you feel that way. No attempt to fix it, justify it anything. Restaurant was empty probably due to the excellent service you get at this place (not) honestly avoid this place if you don’t want mediocre food at “fine dining” prices. Nothing literally nothing fine dining about this place. Also freezing inside refused to turn on heat. Also told us “we dont give salad with sharing starters” sp we pay £44 for starters but that’s not enough for a little plate of salad. Salad is also not purchasable in the menu. We demanded the salad and finally got it

Simply exceptional Indian food… every single dish! We had the sampler appetiser platter, samosas, murgh rezala & annans haash. Hands down, best we’ve had in a long time. Service was wonderful, great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

Visited on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was empty, but the food and atmosphere were very good. If the restaurantwaas in the centre of town, im sure it wouldhave been packed. The servers were attentive without being intrusive. The portion sizes were very good for the price point... we even took some food home with us. Overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience, and I would definitely visit again when I'm in the area. Very highly recommended

If you're in the mood for some amazing sushi, then head to Sticks'n'Sushi in Cambridge! This restaurant has an inviting atmosphere, top-notch food, and great service. Whether you're looking for raw seafood and sake, or grilled meat and beer, there's something for everyone at this restaurant. The location is also good - it's in the center of Cambridge.
Had a delicious lunch, served by Rosy C who looked after us very well. The Perfect Day selection meal was ideal for trying a mix of food and flavours. It’s for a min of 2 but 3-4 could share it as it’s very filling. Surprisingly the restaurant was very quiet but I imagine it has quite a buzz when it’s busy

Good food - I had the robust menu - and a nice atmosphere. I was sat at the bar and could watch cocktails being made. Service was a little peremptory, and I waited 20 minutes to pay, even though I requested the bill three times and was a solo diner.

We visit the Cambridge branch often but yesterday had a bad experience. The sushi arrived and my wife pointed out how scruffy it was. Some pieces were very poorly rolled and falling apart. We politely asked the waiter to please take them back to the kitchen to be replaced and he replied, “I’m sure they’ll still taste ok” and then just stared at us. He rolled his eyes when he finally took the dish away. Not sure if he’s new (he had a “not the best yet” t-shirt on) but that’s not the service you expect and made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. The photo I’ve included is one of the spicy tuna rolls on the kitchen’s second attempt. The same sushi from before had been decanted from the long elegant white dish it was on originally, onto a large round plate, which had caused a lot of the rolls to further fall apart, with loose bits of rice scattered everywhere. The restaurant was also rather unappetisingly filled with flies yesterday. They should maybe keep the door shut in summer or invest in some kind of bug zapper. A shame as we enjoy visiting. Edit: I would’ve preferred to talk to the restaurant directly about my experience before leaving a review, but they didn’t reply to my message yesterday.

La Maison du Steak is a French-inspired restaurant located in Hills Road, offering classic and modern European dishes, including breakfast options. The restaurant is known for its generous portion sizes and excellent quality, making it an ideal spot for a cozy night with a bottle of wine. With succulent steaks and a selection of delicious vegetarian options, it's the perfect place for a romantic dinner.
Stopped in for dinner as a group of 5 after visiting the Botanical Garden Christmas lights as just a few min walk away. As you walk in you get to see a vast selection of steak in the chiller cabinet We were seated fast and order soon taken. Great selection of steak and sides available. Food came out in good time and was fantastic, all the steaks were very well cooked just as ordered! Great selection of craft beer also, will visit again

Excellent experience all around. All of the food was delicious and they take great care in preparing every dish. Even the coleslaw is a Polish recipe from the chef’s family that features 12 spices. I can’t recommend this place enough for a great meal in a relaxed environment.

A very warm and homely environment, decorated with careful consideration. Beautifully chargrilled chicken on top of a Caesar salad. The coleslaw and gratin potatoes were divine. Highly recommend!

The steak was decent, nothing to complain about there. However, the service left something to be desired. When we asked about the 20% student discount advertised on the blackboard outside, we were told it only applied to specific student cards — such as a “French card” and a few others (which we couldn’t quite catch). I must have misunderstood what “student discount” means in a Cambridge steakhouse — apparently, being a student in the UK isn’t quite enough. I’m sure students from the select countries mentioned will be thrilled to know their cards unlock such exclusive savings. For the rest of us, it’s more of a decorative sign than an actual offer.

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and everything was wonderful! The appetisers the duck crème brûlée and the French onion soup were amazing. For the main course, I had the Mature Ribeye on the Bone. It was a huge portion with a unique, delicious flavour. I couldn’t finish it, but my husband was happy to help! Both waitresses were fantastic! They were always smiling and polite. I even forgot my sunglasses at the table, and they kindly kept them safe for me with a smile

Indeed the best steakhouse in Cambridge. Lovely appetisers and definitely want to try some other new things next time. Steaks were cooked perfectly, not chewy at all, very tender and full of flavour, comes with choice of sauce, potatoes and salad too and considering the price it’s a great value. Quite small selections of wines but still got good ones. If you looking for a quality steakhouse, this is the one and definitely worth the money. I really can’t wait to try other menus next time

High Sodium Warning It took quite a while to get our orders, because the chef cooks for every order. So I strongly suggest you to check your parking hours if you came to this restaurant with your vehicle. The food was dry and too salty for my liking, despite the char grill flavour was lovely. 8 hours after the meal, I was still thirsty and dry. The restaurant is very dim inside. I suggest you not to use your phone or tablet in an environment like that.

The chefs use classical recipes to create exclusive flavors, offering a variety of dishes including masalas, biryanis, house specials, and vegetarian options. Amazing Food and Great Hospitality! We had a wonderful experience at Curry Queen. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the lamb shank with lentils—it was delicious! Everything came on time, which we really appreciated. A special mention to DJ, who was an excellent host—friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well looked after throughout our visit. The combination of great food and top-notch service made for a fantastic evening. Highly recommend this place!

Hands down the best Indian I’ve had. Went there with my family, the service was great and we felt really welcome as we never felt rushed and everyone was always friendly attentive. We ordered a tandoori lamb biryani, a tandoori naga chicken curry, daal, naan, vegetable curry. Our host was so generous and gave us a complimentary salad on the house. All our dishes were excellent and piping hot, you could tell they are all their original recipes as the recipes were bold, full of flavors and well balanced. The daal was my favorite, it felt like having a warm hug from an auntie as soon as I tried it (beautiful strong smoky garlic and ghee notes). The biryani was another star. If you like a hot curry don’t hesitate to try the naga curry, it’s fruity and hot! We can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely love Curry Queen, was a regular takeaway customer 2/3 times a month until we moved out of Cambridge. Stumbled on this little gem down Mill road quite spontaneously due to seeing the offer they had on the set menu. Very quick service and very tasty food!

The Curry Queen is not the most appealing restaurant on first impressions; looking a little run-down and shabby. But... Inside, it is a small well appointed place with proper linen and an extensive authentic menu. The food is excellent, and plentiful, rating up in the top 5 of our league table of Indian restaurants and we have eaten in a lot! Service was quick, the waiters pleasant and not obsequious; maybe a little rushed but there were a large number of pre-booked tables that followed us. On the whole, excellent and heartily recommended

This our second time to come to this place and it was lovely experience. We had nice starter -potatoes/spinach, then for mains we ordered chicken madras curry and I had mixed grill, which was amazing. For the sides we had pilau rice and 2 naan breads, and we had mango chutney, mint sauce, onion and veggie mix and something I was not sure what it was (a bit salty sauce). The staff was very friendly and sufficient. They were quick to tidy empty plates and we had overall nice experience. The prices are reasonable, and you have a choice to pay service charge or no. There are toilets in back area. It was not too busy and we got table without booking in advance.

I have just visited the CQ with my wife for about the hundredth time, having been a regular customer for the past forty years. Both my wife and I are members of large Cambridge families who have entertained groups of up to twenty or more in your restaurant over the years. Tonight unfortunately, we felt as though we were cheated after we’d had another excellent meal and called for the bill. I studied the bill as I always do, which came to £68 plus pence, which seemed about right for the modest meal we’d had. I assumed service was included as the last item on the bill was labelled SEC £6.20 which I took to indicate ‘Service Charge’. Printed at the bottom of this bill was the line ‘Service charge is not included with the word ‘not’ very clearly crossed out. When your front of house waiter presented the card machine he asked me to present my card which jumped to a total of £80 literally as I presented the card. The machine and bill were quickly taken away and I was left in some state of shock that my long standing favourite curry house in Cambridge had suddenly cheated me. I have no receipt nor a copy of the bill to substantiate my claim, but I have to say that even to suddenly add £12 to my bill after service seemed already to have been charged leaves a very uncomfortable feeling. I doubt that we shall be returning to The Curry Queen unless you are able to somehow restore my faith in your integrity, and I would therefore reluctantly encourage friends and family in Cambridge to look elsewhere when wanting a curry too. Having read other recent reviews it is clear that my experience is not unusual.. (I sent this to the email service advertised on the CQ’s website but as I got no positive response I’m posting my letter here)

The best gluten free burger I’ve ever had in my life! As a coeliac for many years it is so nice to finally find an amazing gluten free burger and bun that doesn’t fall apart! I Found out about steak and honour through their food truck at Eddington square and now whenever they are there I’ll order! Ordered lots through Deliveroo too and will continue to do so! Staff are always so lovely and accommodating, highly recommend.

Burger and Fries It's an American style burger restaurant. It has quite a lot of similar rivals around the area. Honest Burgers is one of the rivals. The restaurant has a very limited menu, fries are the default side for the burgers. No salad or coleslaw. Limited cutlery for customers. No wrapping papers for the burgers. You have to eat everything with your hands. I can understand, the rent of the location is not going to be cheap. At least there are tissues on each table and a clean toilet available. The tables and seats are clean. Quiet environment. The food was in generous portions. Everything was freshly made for every order. Hot served. You would get more than you have paid for. Waiting was not long. Very efficient. The restaurant is much bigger than it looks from outside.

Hands down the best burger in Cambridge (and perhaps in the U.K.). I learned about this burger joint through a delivery app called “Foodstuff,” which only works and partners with local restaurants (no chains). As it turned out, this restaurant is located right at the city centre of Cambridge, very close to my work. I am from Latin America and my journey for a decent burger in the city had been largely unsuccessful (and disappointing). After trying several pubs and burger chains, I could simply not find a single one that offered the bare minimum: a tasty and juicy burger patty cooked perfectly (medium or medium-rare). I was on the verge of giving up on burgers for good when I found Steak & Honour. This restaurant made me a believer again. It is certainly the best burger I had in Cambridge (and, I dare to say, in the country) and is totally worth a visit. My only criticism is that the fries were too salty. Other than that, everything was perfect! Please note that seating is available upstairs.
Marina V — Google review
Came here for dinner. The guy who served us was really helpful in making a decision. The meat and ingredients seemed to be really good in quality. I had the “Some Like It Hot” with the homemade jalapeño sauce. It was really good. The sauce was a bit too strong and inky left little space for the meat and cheese flavours. Fries really nice! The “one for ella” burger wAs more of my taste and I really like it. A lot simpler, but also quite balanced. The sauce was delicious. Good selection of craft beers and 3 floors to dine in. Good stop! Reasonable price and quick service. Also good music selection is always a plus!

My recent visit left me with mixed feelings. While the service was quick and efficient, the overall experience wasn’t the best, since I went in with high expectations based on the reviews posted online! The highlight of the meal was the crispy fries. However, the burger itself wasn’t that tasty. The patty was noticeably overcooked and dry, lacking the juicy tenderness that one would expect from a quality burger. The cleanliness of the tables were a bit off-putting. We noticed crumbs and stains scattered across the surfaces.
Wala A — Google review
I was a loyal customer of this place when they first opened and made a beeline back here after having lived abroad for the last few years. The quality and flavor of the locally sourced beef is really quite amazing, and I was pleased to find that it hasn’t changed a bit. I really appreciate the attention to detail with different flavors and ingredients. Also, they have a really great beer selection! Enjoy!!

✓ Vegetarian & Vegan Options WHAT WE HAD: One for Ella [£10] – Brioche bun, Beef patty, smoked bacon, American cheese, lettuce, onion, gherkin and burger sauce; Check the Pulse (Vegetarian) [£10] – Brioche Bun, Bean Burger, Beetroot Pickle, Onion, lettuce and sauces; Sweet Potato Fries [£4] The last time I had Steak and Honour was years ago when they only sold out of their food truck. Back then, I loved their beef burgers in brioche bun. So simple but juicy and flavourful, just no nonsense beef burgers done right with quality ingredients. Last December was my first visit to their store. I am Vegan now but I went there as I was with my mum. She enjoyed the One for Ella (Beef Burger) but wasn’t impressed by it. So, I can’t make a fair assessment whether there is a difference in quality. The Check the Pulse Veggie Burger I had was just ok. Not the best bean patty I had (and was quite thin to me), but overall flavourful and I liked the beetroot pickle. There is two more floors of seating upstairs so shouldn’t be a problem getting a table. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The place was generally kept tidy and clean, with a bright atmosphere.

I recently ordered six mixed grazing platters from Bridges Café for a corporate hospitality event, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Meggy was absolutely fantastic to work with -arranging corporate events can often be stressful, but she made the entire catering process completely stress-free. The platters themselves were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with a great variety that impressed everyone on the day. Several of our clients even commented on how amazing the food was, which was wonderful to hear and really added to the success of the event. I would highly recommend Bridges Café for any corporate event or special occasion. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and Meggy truly goes above and beyond! Weirdly confrontational owner, unable to listen to orders and very dismissive/arrogant when you complain. Rest of the staff barely speak or smile - suspect working for him might have that effect on the best of us. Food grossly overpriced. Dry, dense polenta cake at £4.25 is punching above its not insignificant weight!!!. Oversized and under-seasoned drudgery of a scotchegg is a challenging eat at £10.25!!!!... It all looks good and hearty but it just doesn't deliver. Coffee tasted OK but may or may not come as ordered. You're bascially paying for the great people watching location; certainly not the service. I would avoid unless you want your order ignored, a snooty aggressive response when you complain, and to pay through the nose for the privilege. Steer clear, I would!
Andy B — Google review
A busy family style eatery. Not to be compared with artisan cafes or restaurants, but the wide range of homely and tasty food and drink options are good enough when I want something different outside my own kitchen. The counter is a bit slow— making coffee and then taking order, so the short queue takes time. (Food is fast in comparison.) Brighter point, some people have finished lunch in the meantime and freed up some seats. Maybe delegating tasks would help. The Chicken Chorizo Arancini is pretty nice. The filling is full of flavor, and the gooey cheese in the center is always lovely. On the other hand, the shell is no longer crispy and turns a bit soggy. ✏️ A suggestion: rehearing with oven works better than with microwave. (I am also considering taking it as to-go next time to do it my way to revive its texture) The matcha latte is hearty, unsweetened and comes with a big mug of milk — but it’s really hot— I scorched my tongue badly when I took a slurp, despite waiting for a few minutes until the food arrives. Be careful. The Guiness cake makes me cry in joy🥹 So dark, so rich, so moist. Tastes like condensed Oreo! I’m taking it home to enjoy it without the pressure from other customers. The paninis, savories, and cakes all look so enticing. Will definitely come back to try them all (on less busy days for me and for the restaurant). The owner might appear a little stern, reminds me of the way many Asian dads focus on their busy work. It’s stress and concentration, not altitude I guess. The space is tiny. Despite the beautiful deco and relaxing, there is a rushed feeling to eat fast and leave— would recommend takeaway instead. There is some student discount available. 202405 Guinness cake to go for my friend’s birthday. The pies and scotch egg look amazing!! And it’s not that crowded before noons Hope I’ll pass by again soon for lunch.

Peking Restaurant, a tasteful eatery serving authentic Chinese fare, is lauded by The Sunday Telegraph as Cambridge's top dining spot. With delivery services on offer, patrons can relish in a delectable array of Oriental cuisine. From savory steamed dumplings to flavorful soups and poultry dishes, there is something for everyone to savor. One exceptional aspect of Peking Restaurant is its tranquil ambiance and attentive service provided by the amiable staff.
Absolutely a hidden gem in Cambridge. Portions sizes are more than enough in size and quality to justify the price, and the staff are accomodating and experienced. The only reasons it loses a star is due to the small number of nearby parking spaces, and the fact that being able to speak mandarin will help a great deal when ordering. An incredibly authentic, high quality and satisfying place to eat. All food is cooked from scratch after ordering by an extremely experienced chef! Cannot recommend higher.

A hidden gem indeed! The food is lovely- especially the special crispy chili prawns dish. The owner is an 84 year old Chinese guy who has been in the U.K. for decades, he’s so sweet and has so many stories!! Worth going in just for a chat with him if nothing else 😂 it’s a bonus that the food is so delicious too!
Sophie L — Google review
Excellent dinner. The restaurant was quiet but the service was very friendly. And the recommendations from the owner were all delicious - meat, fish and vegetable dishes alike. The sea bass in particular was very tasty. It was our first time but we will be sure to come again.

Delicious authentic Chinese good! The staff and owner were all lovely. Would recommend!

Food quality is good, in particular, the deep fried squid is very delicious. The 82 year old Taiwanese Chef made us a chicken fish soup with deep fried rice vermicelli. It’s very special and we all love it. The portion is generous. Service is excellent. It’s quiet on a Sunday night, probably due to location.

I was there with a big group and we shared several dishes: every single one of them was delicious. We had deep fried mixed seafood, prawns with black bean sauce, aubergine, cabbage, kung pao chicken and smoked chicken. Some of the best Chinese food I've had in Cambridge.

Been there just one time for a work lunch, the menu was predefined but I cannot complain about anything. We played 25£ each but we had a lot of food. Quality wise I found it quite interesting, spicy prawns are highly suggested. The aubergines also was really tasty. I'll come back again.

We asked the chef to make our choices and we were treated to an amazing selection. Beef, prawn, duck, chicken, fish, aubergine & pork dishes were all delicious, high quality ingredients.

Samaan Restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring classics like kebabs, falafel, and shawarma alongside burgers, chicken dishes, and milkshakes. Despite its small size, the restaurant provides a welcoming and uncrowded atmosphere. Customers have praised the full platter for its unique and delightful taste. The portion sizes are generous compared to other Kurdish, Iranian, and Turkish cuisines in the UK. While parking may be limited, nearby council parking is available.
Everything tasted nice and fresh Food was hot and came out quick. Lamb kebabs were very nice and beyti were very nice. Amazing chips. Lemon mint drink was missing something. Was a bit bitter and had bits in it. Service was 5 star

Good Restaurant What a new, nice and clean place. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. The staff were efficient and attentive. It didn't take long for us to get our food, despite it being freshly cooked. The portions were generous. Beautiful presentations. Everything tasted good. Nothing too salty or too oily. Well seasoned and well cooked. With a lovely char grill flavour. There's nothing I can fault about. See you soon!

Lovely fresh halal food served here. I took my mother here for a meal and was pleasantly surprised, the portions are generous and great value for money, The lemon and mint drink was nice and fresh, easily the best falafel I’ve tasted in the whole of the UK, the chicken and lamb is flavourful with the rice. The restaurant is very clean with a high level of hygienic cleanliness standard, altogether a great dining experience, exceeded my expectations and one I will be sure to revisit time after time. Super friendly informative staff nothing is too much trouble for them, they go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Thank you for an exceptional dining experience.

really great chinese takeaway. particularly reccomend the duck with pineapple and pickled ginger - normally i would expect something with pineapple in to be too sweet for my taste, but this was a delicious balance between sweet, savory, warm, and sour from the ginger.
Edward B — Google review
Had a menu through the door and thought I’d give Golden Wok a try. This was my first time ordering a delivery from them and it won’t be my last! I had Char Siu Chow Mein with Monks Vegetables and Deep Fried Chilli Beef and my wife had Special Fried Rice with Chicken in Yellow Bean Sauce, but they have a huge selection of other dishes. My order was prepared and arrived within 30mins, despite living a 10-15min drive away. The food was red hot, tasty and the portion size was good. Very happy with everything!

I tried this as usual Chinese was closed, even though I've heard bad things I thought I'd try due to seeing good reviews..... These reviews must be fake on Google as it was all disgusting. The chicken wings where covered in thick and bland batter, not even seasoned with salt and didn't include advertised sauce, the special fried rice was very basic and bland, I've had better from Iceland! The king prawn udon noodles looked delicious however extremely spicy my mouth was burning and couldn't eat it. The noodles where not advertised as being spicy or having any chilli in and it was overpowering you couldn't taste anything else. I would of probably had more enjoyment with a 50p pack of instant noodles! Photos of chicken wings and "special fried rice"

first time ordering here and will be back soon for sure! amazing value for money with huge portions, delicious hot and fresh food, and fast delivery in spite of us being a bit further out! the duck and garlic chicken were especially tasty - definitely the best chinese i’ve tried in cambridge :)

Really sad. Been looking for a good lemon chicken dish since my local took it off the menu. I just want a nice fried slice of chicken with a nice amount of lemon and a good crisp. I’m sick of being given tubs of congealed lemon soup and chicken chucked in there. Please take down the picture you advertise as lemon chicken. What I received was not as pictured!
Daniel T — Google review
Great local takeaway, respectable prices and great quality. Chicken balls had the perfect texture, lovely and 'golden'. Wish they would do salt and chilli chips. Free prawn crackers with our order which is always welcome. Special fried rice was tasty too. Frankly the chips were slightly underwhelming - lovely texture but could do with a touch of seasoning.

Chinese restaurant
Double Seven is a Chinese takeaway that offers a wide variety of dishes, both traditional and unique. The restaurant has a clean and inviting atmosphere with a friendly staff. Customers have the option to dine in or take away their food. The menu includes popular favorites as well as some less common options not typically found in other Chinese restaurants. For just 15 pounds, diners can choose three dishes along with a pot of Chinese tea.
This is a lovely small family run restaurant with a fantastic section of dishes. Despite previous reviews, I would give this place a 5 star rating. It offers delicious authentically Chinese food which is otherwise lacking in Cambridge. The portion sizes were generous and very reasonably priced. The most notable dish was the chicken with peanuts, it was truly one of the best dishes I have ever had. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

I've used double 7 for many years. I've always found the food consistently good in quality and a great variety of dishes. Portion sizes are good, and not it’s badly priced at all. It’s my go-to for good reason.
Looper — Google review
A little gem tucked away on cherry Hinton road. Easy to get a table at short notice. The double cooked fish which was delicious and the garlic pork ribs, which was not on the menu, was equally as good. For those who haven't dined at this place, it's your loss.
Keith T — Google review
Ordered a takeaway for home delivery. Took 1 hour 20 minutes to arrive...said within 60 minutes upon ordering. Although everything was hot (temperature) none of the dishes were anything special. We've used this place several times in the past & always found it very nice but today it didn't seem up to it's usual standard...maybe a different chef?? We had 3 dishes that contained prawns...salt & pepper king prawns, king prawns with mixed vegetables (which was more like a chop suey with more beansprouts than anything else) & a special chow mein (which didn't contain much meat). The prawns in each of these 3 dishes were dry & rubbery. The sirloin steak in pepper sauce dish was stodgy & thick & really sickly - we never found that before! The rice was bland & seemed quite hard/chewy. None of the dishes were exceptional but we all liked the chicken omelette & the pancake roll (although very greasy) was probably thr nicest I've tried! With spending almost £80 we were disappointed that we didn't get free prawn crackers either!

1+1 Rougamo, located on Regent Street in Cambridge, is currently open for takeout and delivery. This eatery specializes in serving authentic and freshly prepared Chinese cuisine. A recent review on Tripadvisor praised it as the top restaurant in Cambridge. The food was described as delicious, with one customer specifically mentioning the tasty fish & tomato soup enhanced by their flavorful Chilli oil. Portion sizes were generous, especially when it came to the ample amount of fish and delightful noodles.
Best authentic rougamou you can find in the UK. Restaurant is small, but gives it a great vibe. Staff are hardworking and friendly, they can give you extra veg if you ask for it. Prices are so much cheaper than in London. I can see why this place is full of uni students. Highly recommended.
Haofei D — Google review
Busy mainland Chinese restaurant with an emphasis on Western Chinese cuisine. Visited Oct 2024 on a Saturday and was able to quickly get a table for 3. We got four dishes and Chinese tea for the table, which altogether provided good variety. Vibe wise the restaurant is a bit drafty (it’s one room) and rather packed together, and there are only paper cups for beverages , but the price point matches this. Hoping to visit the Holborn location to try the Xi’an lamb soup.
D. W — Google review
My beef brisket was average, and it would be nice to have some vegetables. Some pieces are tough, not tender, as I was hoping. My partner said his spicy sweet potato noodles with fried fish were good.
Wendy L — Google review
Food was not bad! Generally well received by our table of seven. Hand made noodles and dumplings tasted well, even if hand made dumplings lead to variable consistency. Rougamo crust is somewhere between a Cornish pasty and a pie: crispy and soft. Be aware that there is a bug in the ordering system. Somehow our table ordered an extra dish. We shared it because we had space, but it was still a surprise. The owners and workers speak Chinese with occasional broken English. Atmosphere was fine. Maybe a bit loud in some corners due to the acoustics, but nothing major. 1+1Rougamos dumplings face a lot of competition in Cambridge. But the titular rougamo doesn't, and the soup noodles received good reviews from the table.
David L — Google review
The handmade noodle soup was delicious and filling. My soup just provided the right amount of numbing to make it tasty but not off putting. My wife's noodles were nice and spicy. Kids enjoyed their beef noodles too. It is in a slightly small setting but we got lucky and got seated immediately. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying the other things on the menu.
Ian L — Google review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Delicious! I had one of the best Rougamo I’ve ever tasted right here in Cambridge — crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, bursting with flavor. Everything tasted freshly made, and you could tell the dumplings were homemade with care — delicate, perfectly filled, and so satisfying. The entire meal felt comforting and authentic. A hidden gem for anyone who loves Chinese street food done right. I’ll definitely go back

I love the duck rougamo in this place. It's yummy, sweet but salty, healthy but not. It's just delicious 😋🤤. I can't wait to return and try more dishes 😁. Definitely very recommended 🥰. Update 25/08/2025: The lamb noodles I had today were amazing, definitely recommended!

This restaurant is horrible. Despite telling them I was vegetarian so no meats at all. When I got back to the hotel while eating halfway I found two pieces of PORK in my food. Noodle Republic is a popular dining option on Regent Street, frequented by Deliveroo customers. One customer's review mentioned their attraction to the restaurant's name and their positive experience. They tried two different ramens and fried dumplings, which provided an authentic taste of Japan that they found delicious and flavorful. The broth was particularly excellent. This establishment offers a remarkable variety of dishes, making it a favorite place to eat in Cambridge.
This place is truly amazing. It is always an absolute treat to go to there, especially with family or friends. All the sashimi and sushi are made beautifully and are delicious. They are also the freshest I've ever tried in Cambridge. The Chinese dishes are also delicious and with good portions. However, if you can't take spice, I would recommend caution on the spicy dishes as they do not hold back on the heat. I learned that the hard way! However, if you can take your spice, try them out! The Japanese dishes are all delicious, especially the eel over rice. The service is excellent, the staff are all very nice and are super attentive. During their more busy times, their hands are quite full so please come with a little patience. The prices are a little high but it is not ridiculously priced. And tasting how fresh their dishes are, I can tell why. Overall, this is hands down one of the best restaurants in Cambridge. I would absolutely recommend it, especially for a night out!

Amazing selection of food. My favourite place to eat in Cambridge. Highly recommend the sweet potato noodles with pigs intestines, the eel and seaweed salad, the stir fried lettuce with pork and the beef and egg with house special sauce on rice. Lots of Chinese dishes and Japanese dishes too. Disabled access is good with no step access from front door and a downstairs toilet as well.
Mary M — Google review
£9.8 for a tonkotsu ramen. Minimum for card payment is £10, so prepare cash. They have counter seats, which it’s nice because that way I don’t feel that awkward if I go alone. The ramen smells too “porky” for my taste, and I didn’t expect the chashu to come with bone (in Japan the chashu is boneless). The noodles were very good (歯応えがある, chewy?), though. Overall, it’s close to a Japanase ramen, but I wouldn’t pay that for a ramen in Japan. But since we are not in Japan, this is the closest thing you can get in Cambridge, AFAIK. The other dishes I could see in other tables looked good as well, but I haven’t tried anything else yet.

I enjoyed a nice pork ramen here (picture). I would say it can be improved. They also have a vegetarian version, with tofu, which I was told was great. Great design and friendly staff.

Golden House is a Chinese Takeaway located on Lensfield Road in Cambridge, which offers a fantastic menu specifically designed for students. They provide an extensive selection of different dishes to satisfy various tastes, with each main dish priced at approximately 5. Among the popular choices among students are the honey spare ribs and satay chicken on skewers. For an additional treat, one can indulge in sesame prawn toast served with chili sauce as a delicious side option.
my second home in Cambridge Note: I haven’t seen the lady who always picked up the phone and took orders for a year now. Her colleagues say she is away on a long, long holiday. Wherever you are, I hope you are well, thank you. I come here almost every day for dinner - the fried rice portions are so large and you could ask for extra rice. Very reasonably priced (£6.50 for the large fried rice), and you could order via wechat in advance. Several times I didn’t bring cash, worse still sometimes I forgot pay and just walked out of the restaurant - they would send me a kind message and ask me to pay left time (credit!). I must say Golden House actually got me through my degree. I spent many lonely nights here and seeing the same staff is like family, the food tastes of home. Just so so good. I have graduated but will definitely come back. Three dishes I always get (alternating): - Nasi Goreng Fried Rice (large) - Special Fried Rice (large) - salt and pepper fried squid

If you are looking for a quick, affordable, delicious meal, this is the best spot bar none. I have eaten here more times than I can count and will undoubtedly continue to do so, and yet I doubt I will be able to try all of their dishes. I can recommend with full confidence the 辣子鸡 and 番茄牛腩, or spicy fried chicken and tomato beef. Chicken is super flavourful and scratches that itch for spice, the beef is silky and luscious and the sauce coats the rice beautifully. PSA: Bring cash unless you expect to spend more than £20.

Honestly for the price, I cannot complain. We got takeaway and it did not disappoint. Definitely not the best Chinese we had but it was good. Would order again. Oh and the extra prawn crackers they added were a nice surprise.

Arguably serving the best food + value I've had a chance to encounter and truly a hidden gem/hole in the wall experience of Cambridge. The special menu consistently surprised and delivered on quality with a mix of Chinese, Cantonese, Malaysian, Indonesian dishes - I've never had a bad dish here, and for around 2 years I came here for lunch everyday... Recommended dishes are sambal squid (favourite), roast duck with homemade sauce, garlic fragrance chicken wings, king prawns with vegetables and egg sauce. Don't miss a chance to come here if you're in Cambridge. People with bad reviews below likely picked dishes from the main menu, which are not the highlights of the restaurant - go for the Special menu.

The beef brisket with potatoes and rice is very tasty and reasonable price. This is from their student special menu, the rice is underneath the brisket. I thought this is only for students, but the staff told me t everyone is welcomed to order.

Mr Taco is a delightful gem that serves up authentic soft shell tacos in a warm and inviting setting, making it an ideal spot for both casual outings and special occasions. Diners rave about the mouthwatering guacamole, which pairs perfectly with their generous portions of pork quesadillas and super-sized burritos. The nachos are also a hit, providing a great way to kick off your culinary adventure in Cambridge.
Such a lovely little place! Was walking past and saw their current deal of £8.99 for a burrito and a drink. The best burrito I've ever had! So fresh and tasty and really big- you get your moneys worth indeed. Will definitely be back.

Wow! They were not wrong about the guacamole. Had it for delivery/ collection and my my it didn’t disappoint. I had the pork Quesadilla and my partner had the Super Large Hero Burrito and we both shared the nachos. Great way to start our trip off in Cambridge. Definitely worth a visit again! Not a negative but would be good to see desert options. Look forward to coming back!

I’ve lived here for a decade now so I’m always happy to stumble on good Mexican food. I had the one of the vegetarian Mexican Plate options, chilli ajo, so had a little bit of everything. My husband had a carne asada wet burrito that smelled so good I wish I ate meat. Maná was playing softly over the speakers and I loved the chill vibe. Grabbed a cortado from the coffee side on the way out. Lovely little place, can’t wait to go back. Always a pleasure to speak to paisanos as well 🇲🇽

What a find this little place is. I haven't tasted such good Burritos in a long time. I would say the last time was in California in a fancy Mexican restaurant! The atmosphere was chilled and the service and servers were friendly. We loved it! Big portions and a doggie bag home, what more could you want 🥰 Amazing guys, will definitely be returning 😁

Mr Taco is one of my favourite places. The staff are always very friendly, and that's not the best part. Never have I had anything from Mr Taco to be disappointing. The food is always fresh and the flavours are amazing. I find it is always the first place that crosses my mind when asked where do I want to go for lunch. Give it a go! You will not be disappointed or leave hungry.

Visited with a friend today, the lady working was super friendly and was professional in catering to my dietary requirements ( they serve halal chicken). I asked for a dish that would fill me up and she delivered! The burritos and tacos are delicious and the guacamole is the best I’ve had. I am writing this review 9 hours after I ate and I am still full.10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Wow what a fantastic Mexican restaurant with such friendly staff..we each had the Mexican plata which I had the chicken breast and all the salad, black beans, nachos on the side and he gave me 2 hot crispy tacos shells on the side along with sour cream guacamole and lovely hot salsa and all that for only £12 …I have to say this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to for quality, freshness and outstanding food…looking forward to visiting again soon…10/10 👌highly recommended you won’t be disappointed..

Takeout Restaurant
Charlie Chan Restaurant is a simply decorated Chinese restaurant in Cambridge that offers dim sum and classic Beijing dishes, along with live jazz performances. It is known as one of the oldest restaurants in the area and has received high praise on TripAdvisor for its authentic Chinese cuisine. The restaurant's dim sum is particularly popular, with freshly prepared dishes made from quality ingredients. Customers have also appreciated the friendly staff and comfortable ambiance, making it a must-visit spot for those craving traditional Chinese flavors.
We had a truly 10/10 meal here on Sunday afternoon. The beef in black bean sauce with Ho fun you have to ask for off the menu but it is one of the best I have ever had. The dim sum was all delicious- har gau, cheung fun, chive dumplings and not pictured beef balls and steamed sticky rice with chicken and Chinese sausage. The three of us left stuffed and with tea was around £23pp. Super value for the quality. Food came quickly which was impressive given how busy it was for Sunday lunch.

Simply one of the best places in Cambridge to have Chinese food ! There are enough choices even for vegetarians. In general, we ordered dishes which helped us avoid beef and pork. So, we ordered: 1. Veg spring rolls 2. Prawn dimsums 3. Hot and sour veg soup 4. Veg chow mein 5. Tofu in black pepper sauce Quantity is sufficient for each dish. Surprisingly, taste gets to you, as you consume the dish. Staff is very helpful and guided us to order more appropriately, as per our tastes. Since restaurant is located very close to city centre, parking could be a potential challenge. Would recommend to commute by bus.

This restaurant has quickly become the go-to spot for my friends and me to satisfy our dim sum cravings. The variety and quality of dim sum served here are exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant adds to its charm, providing a comfortable and authentic setting. Highly recommended for any dim sum enthusiast! I was too busy eating, forgot to take more pictures, which is a good sign!

Fantastic dim sum… food are all done on the spot and piping hot… siu mai is a 12/10, a definite must-try! Staff is very friendly too, the ambience is very comfortable and peaceful. We enjoyed our meal entirely and will be sure to return again soon!

The food is generally good. What is shocking was being charged for a small dish of cut chillies - £2! That is over the top. Dry beef noodle and cuttlefish cakes were good. Turnip paste could be crispier and garnished better. The service was cold; no smiles or made to feel welcomed.
B B — Google review
I went tonight after seeing many good reviews but found the service to be absolutely awful, I sat for 10 minutes or more with a menu in my hand doing that thing of looking around to get attention after so long..no response at all, to the point of being rude.. In the end I was getting thirsty/ hungry so I just got up, put my coat on and slowly walked out..still no response from the very poorly trained inconsiderate staff..zero rating from me for these guts for sure..McDonald's have better customer service.

Familiar with dim sum since a child. Most recent outstanding dim sum in the U.K. would be ‘dim sum duck in London’ as a baseline comparable. Father is a chef who came along for the meal. Dim sum quality solid here … can tell it’s been cooked from the heart & ‘clean’ taste.

Nestled along the charming Mill Road, Kan Zaman is a delightful hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of Lebanese cuisine. This cozy restaurant invites you to indulge in a variety of traditional dishes, from fresh salads and hummus to succulent kebabs and lamb chops. The intimate atmosphere makes it perfect for a relaxed dining experience, while the enchanting back garden seating adds an extra layer of charm.
I had an incredible meal at Kan Zaman on a Monday night. We opted to sit outside in the cozy, covered space which was heated and tastefully decorated, creating a really nice atmosphere for a warm March evening. I can only imagine how amazing it’ll be during the summer months! The food was delicious, with generous portions that left us completely satisfied. We enjoyed a variety of meze and a chicken wrap, all of which were fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. The staff were fantastic—super friendly and eager to share recommendations when we weren’t sure what to try. I’ll definitely be back!

We had lunch here today. This is a lovely little place. Was impressed with the meat quality. Was greasy of fatty tasting. We ordered platter for 4. And a few extra sides. Very tasty. The drinks were great too. If ur visiting Cambridge and was a halal place to eat this is it

Visited Kan Zaman on Mill Road and had an amazing experience! We ordered 5-6 starters along with the mixed grill main course. The hummus was absolutely silky smooth and just melted in the mouth. It’s great to see they offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options too. After this visit, I’ve definitely become a big fan of Lebanese food. Highly recommend!

Love this spot on Mill Road. Fresh, tasty and great portions. The hummus shawarma chicken is my favourite. The fresh lemon and mint juice also hit the spot.
Carlos B — Google review
This is Lebanese food at its finest. We had the mixed platter for two which came with two sides. The kaftan was spiced just right and the hummus had fine creaminess to it. The shawarma was packed with flavor and so was the garlic sauce and tahini. There is a hoka lounge outside on the patio if that's your jam. The staff was friendly and efficient . If you are studying in a Cambridge this will fit the budget, provide serving sizes for growing lads and tickle your taste buds. Put it on the list.

Kan Zaman We ordered similar items as we did in Samaan of the same street. The order was delivered quickly too. The portions and prices were similar to Samaan. Very generous amount of food. Everything tasted good. Well seasoned with char grill flavour. Not too salty. Not sure about the salad. It's a bit too much raw onion in the salad that gave me a strong breath afterwards. But still, it's a genuinely fresh salad with some variety of vegetables. The environment was quite and tidy. With a clean toilet. Any one knows how to remove the bad breath after eating raw onion rings?

Almost missed my first visit when the guys forgot to flip the sign lol I might be the first customer if the day at 12:45 (I should get mine for free lol as people started to come in afterwards. Food is really fast. Premade anyways. Good chunk of lamb. Seasoning is mild but not bland. Atmosphere is a bit awkward. The lady is friendly though :)

I just had dinner at Hungrill on mill road and to say it was amazing is an understatement. My mum and I shared the mixed grill for 2, yes it is as big as it looks, and yes it could have easily served 4 people, the portions were huge. I cannot even point out any particular bits that are highlights because everything was just perfect, from the Greek sausage to the tzatziki, everything was cooked, marinated and prepped to absolute perfection. I mean everything about the food and the atmosphere made me feel like I was back in Greece and I highly recommend you try it. Also, Mill Mediterranean Coffee Spot was great. Proper Greek frappe reminded me of being over there, not only that, we were able to buy some amazing desserts, kataifi, apple baklava, baklava. Caprice was available to purchase (if you know you know) along with Greek sausage (once again, if you know, you know) along with many other Greek food and drink items. Again, highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic Greek restaurant! The food is incredibly delicious and the portions are super generous — every bite was a delight. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with happy and friendly staff all around. A special shoutout to the owner, Leftheris, whose constant smile and energy truly light up the whole place. I especially enjoyed the gyros and mixed grill — everything was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. But what really blew me away was their pita bread — unbelievably soft and fragrant. Honestly, I could get addicted just eating the bread on its own! This wasn’t just a meal — it was a full experience. Can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend to everyone!

This place is simply perfect! I honestly wish we had one just like it in London. Every product tastes so fresh, you can really feel the quality in every bite. The flavors are amazing, and the portions are more than generous. On top of that, the service is on another level, You literally just think of something 😃 and it’s already done, asked or offered. Guy who takes orders is very friendly and helpful, A true gem that I’d love to come back to again and again!

Hania was super lovely Ira was not, While we were sat during a quiet period we heard every customer come in and order and was served with a smile from Hania, and with every order came an unnecessary negative comment from Ira to Hania or the customer or both it was honestly hard to watch. Simple things like please can I get the chips on the side, I understand during a busy time the answer is probably no I'm so sorry but we can't do that, but during a time when you're not busy and to get such a serious and stern "no" end of story seems unfair. Aside from this the chicken gyros was so delicious and tasty and hot and fresh, the lamb skewers however were not hot or fresh or delicious

The fresh juice I bought was delicious! Perfect way to boost your energy with a refreshing juice! I highly recommend the energiser juice!
Thekla L — Google review
It’s nice to have freshly squeezed juice in Cambridge, but I find it a bit pricey for the quality they offer. I had a small “energiser juice” for £5.35. It contains orange, strawberries & banana, and some energy booster (?). It tasted very very mild. I could taste something orangey, and something banana far away. No hint of strawberries. I guess the fruits weren’t ripe at all. You can find nicer fruit in the street market nearby. On the positive side, I rather have it mild than too sweet. Also, it didn’t taste like orange peels which I would hate, and the banana didn’t win over the other fruits, which I often dislike as well.

On 16th of September 2023 time between 4-5 I went to the boost to order drink for my daughter. After ordering our drink we waited about 15 minutes and and our drink is not ready. I asked one of the lady nicely that I ordered small tropical storm drink. How long it will take? She went inside and asked said something to her colleagues. The lady who took our order she came out seems confused. She looked at the screen to see our order. She went inside and started to laugh with her colleagues. I was very confused. I was expecting an apologies from them. Which they didn’t and started showing attitudes. After 5 minutes she got my drink ready. I said thank you because she served the drink in large cup. I can’t believe the way she responded. She was like alright alright…I just looked at her as I was very confused why she is behaving like this. Another lady came from inside and joined her. She was so rude with me. Both of them were very racist with us. I am so glad that there were lots of people watched their behaviour. I said to them is this way you treat your customers. I will never go there again. I told my friends and family not to go there. I hope these racist staff never treat anyone else like this especially when you have children with you.

The dishes are described as spicy and flavorful, with options such as Dan Dan noodles, beef noodles, spicy and sour pickle pepper with chicken gizzard, poached beef with hot chili, cold chili rabbit, fried fish in hot sauce, and King Po prawns.

We literally waited a whole hour for our food despite there being empty tables in the restaurant as they prioritised takeout orders, a Wednesday evening at 7pm ish. Not offered any drinks or anything in the meantime, no apology for the wait. Won’t be back especially considering it can be £15-£17 for a small plate of over-salty food.

We’ve been regulars for a long time and always loved the food and service here. But a few weeks ago, a new waitress started - she’s impatient, disorganised, and struggles even when the restaurant is less than half full. She gets flustered with simple things like taking orders and handling payments, and often treats customers with obvious hostility - frowning, ignoring communication, making people wait for no reason, and even rushing them out.
