Fine dining restaurant
European restaurant
Midsummer House is a Victorian-era riverside cottage in Cambridge, offering elegant French cuisine in a charming setting. The restaurant is located near the River Cam and overlooks the greenery of Midsummer Common. The glass-roofed conservatory dining room provides picturesque views of the walled garden and creates a French ambiance with its formal staff and theatrical Champagne trolley.
This is was an experience well worth the price tag. I live near this restaurant and walk by it every day. From the outside it looks nice but unassuming and on the inside it is much the same. However, it is like nested dolls, when you think that is it there is still more. I loved it. I left the experience feeling like I had spent the day at a spa. The food was delicious but also interesting. My favourite was the pigeon leg because it was very evocative. For the taste I loved the first course and the bread. My husband and I finished the meal with digestives and coffee upstairs in the parlour and it was perfect. Of course the service was exceptional but it was also unpretentious. I was expecting it to be very posh and stuffy even, but it was not. There was a homey atmosphere to the restaurant and to the service. I enjoyed every second and I highly recommend trying this place at least once.

A lovely experience overall! A must-visit spot for those staying in the area. Would highly recommend finishing with the desserts and garnishes in the outdoor garden. The integrated flavors were delightful, with beautiful presentations. Sorbets and pâtés were common across the courses. Thank you for a great dining experience!

Food with the quality of Blancs & the imagination of Blumenthal combining for a truly memorable tasting menu. We could not have had a nicer evening, service personable & down to earth while remaining highly professional. Katie went over & above every step of the way, & it was an absolute honour to step into the kitchen & meet Liam who made time for us after a long shift. Can’t wait to go back. Don’t hesitate - book in.

Over the moon with my birthday meal here. From the moment you and your party walk in the attention is on you. The dining room is bright and airy and there’s enough space between tables to have private conversations. The food which the waiters moved with perfect synchronicity, delivering each dish to the table or removing plates was magical. Highly recommended.
Ace M — Google review
Extremely disappointing experience at 2 Michelin stars restaurant, most of the dishes were delicious however not mind blowing level, way too many unnecessary components, each course was coming with 2 or 3 different plates and dishes, didn’t create much harmony or pairing and in fact it was making it harder to focus on any of them, they all had interesting flavours with such unique combinations however at the end of the day you have no idea what you just had and won’t be able to remember the flavours in the future bc it’s mixed up way too much without any clear purpose of the dish… really good examples of ‘overrated and incorrect fine dining’ Horrendous service as well overall, the restaurant was very cold as 3 different air cons were working with full power and the wind kept hitting us directly so had to tell to the staff if they could make some changes TWICE to actually solve the problem, one of the worst wine list I’ve ever seen in Michelin starred restaurant, all of the wines are extremely overpriced… inducing people to order wine pairings instead? So I went for the cheapest pairings and it wasn’t actually too bad, except that whenever they explain the wines and how it’s meant to go well with the dish, they were struggling to describe it properly with very bad diction, almost felt like they were nervous and unsure about what they were saying, asked couple of questions regarding some foods and wines, couldn’t really get clear answers from the staffs straight away as they were just mumbling? Spent almost £1,000 for 2 people, definitely not worth the money, seriously wonder how this place deserved 2 Michelin stars for 20+ years? I’ve been to few other 2 stars restaurants and by far this place has been the worst… the restaurant was awkwardly quiet so some background music would be great as when we first walked in there’s almost no one in the dining room so it felt super creepy, it’s just small details that they need to look for in order to make customers feel more comfortable and relaxed, definitely need a lot more training on staffs especially on knowledge parts so they could speak up a bit and explain things in a much better and clear way, keep the foods bit simple as well because all those hundreds of components won’t make the dish any better and rather ruin the flavour as it creates zero harmony and chemistry in between Also seems like they pay people to write a good review or make fake accounts to do that which is such a shame to the restaurant for their fame and reputation….
Kenny G — Google review
Quite an experience, exceptional service and the most amazing food - even a picky eater could find only one item to leave at side of plate. Not at all cheap, who knew ,but a great way to spend an afternoon.
Linda M — Google review
Our anniversary lunch at Midsummer House in Cambridge was an absolute treat from start to finish. Welcomed with champagne and perfect, meaty olives in the courtyard – a special touch. The food journey was exceptional: the savoury-sweet apple sable, a delicate sardine terrine, and a superb duck liver flapjack (creamy duck, raspberry sweetness, chocolate, crunch!) were early highlights. The Bloody Mary, served like a gazpacho with a cucumber sorbet surprise, was incredibly refreshing. The cuttlefish with hazelnut and ginger jelly on cauliflower bavarois was light and fresh. The smoked butternut squash sorbet with rich pork consommé offered fantastic temperature and flavour contrasts – truly a masterclass. The duck main was a delightful blend of rich and gamey, perfectly balanced by melon puree and smokey vinegar. Even a slight doughiness in the bao buns couldn't overshadow the brilliant brik pastry duck wing portion. The Jack Daniels cafe pousse was an "OMG WOW!" moment – still unsure what was in it, but incredible! Dessert was a fantastic coconut and lime creation in a chocolate bowl, with lovely sour-sweet contrasts and a hint of chilli. Finishing with coffee and exquisite petit fours (apple pie-like beignettes and an astonishing apple tart tatin) in the courtyard was pure bliss. A huge highlight was Head Chef Liam's kitchen tour, detailing each section and relating it to our menu. Service throughout was spot on, attentive, polite, and interactive. Every dish was a thoughtful experience. Truly brilliant!

Fantastic setting by the river. The food was exactly what we were expecting with such a high reputation. Very nice to sit next to the window looking into the kitchen.

Vanderlyle is a trendy and stylish restaurant located on Mill Road. It offers a unique dining experience with its farm-to-table approach, focusing on vegetable-based dishes and seasonal tasting menus. The restaurant's interior features a rustic yet chic design, creating an informal and inviting atmosphere for guests. Led by Masterchef finalist Alex Rushmer, Vanderlyle prides itself on sustainability and works closely with local growers and producers to create innovative and delicious menus based on locally available ingredients.
The most incredible restaurant and the best experience we have EVER had! Everything from setting, music, atmosphere, service and food was INCREDIBLE. Start to finish we could not fault a thing and a week in and we are still buzzing and I just can't wait to go again. Thank you to the whole team for making our anniversary and my husband's birthday the most special ❤️
Katie M — Google review
Dining at Vanderlyle is an amazing experience and such a privilege. My partner and I have been 4 times in the last 7 months, and every time we are blown away by the food, atmosphere, and service. We have celebrated our 30th birthdays and our engagement here at the pass, as well as dining during the changing seasons to experience the seasonal menus. I cannot fault this place - the food is absolutely unbelievable: the menu is so creative, and whether it’s something completely novel or something you’ve had before, every bite feels like the best version you’ve tasted of what’s on the plate. We plan to keep coming at least once a quarter to try the seasonal menu, but make sure you set your alarm for a table as they sell out fast! Our favourite restaurant ever!

We had an amazing evening at Vanderlyle enjoying the tasting menu. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, with excellent service throughout. Every course was creative, varied, and full of flavour - The oyster mushrooms were a standout for us, and the lemon sorbet was incredible. They also adapted the menu for gluten intolerance without any fuss - amazing gf brioche too! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sublime dining experience!

Food was well presented, visually pleasing and tasted delicious. Service was efficient but not intrusive, the atmosphere was relaxing. Little touches like choice of ceramics to present dishes enhanced overall experience. We are not vegetarians but if we ate dishes like you created everyday., we would be.The cashew parfait was outstanding - I could have eaten it all to myself. We both appreciated the amount of preparation, thought and skill which went into all of the dishes. We will be back!!

My fiancé and I have visited Vanderlyle many times over the span of about 5 years. Everytime we are so impressed and have a lovely experience. I am gluten free and they accommodate my dietary requirements well, providing a gf menu that either closely mirrors or is identical to the regular non-gf menu with absolutely no fuss. The food is always so creative and the standard of cooking is always a given every time we visit. The photos are a selection of the dishes and menus we've had over the years

Just one word: amazing. We spent our wedding anniversary here, we couldn't have had a better dinner. Thank you very much.
J D — Google review
We had an absolutely fabulous evening with you. Long overdue but you have to be quick to book a slot! Delicious flavours and balance, very different wine pairings which made it an extravaganza for the taste buds. Each and everyone at Vanderlyle is really lovely, enthusiastic and delightful and made our evening an absolute joy. Standouts included the cauliflower cheese, kohlrabi skagen, carrot tartare, mushrooms , 12,000 ways (3 actually!) and the uber yummy choux bun with apple. Had to take the petit fours home as too full to justify eating at end of meal! Going to have diary ready to book agan!

A long-awaited experience. So much more than good food! Attentive, well-informed, engaging staff. Relaxed atmosphere. The best food we have ever eaten out (or in!). Creativity, passion shone through every aspect of our time there. And the loveliest touch to have a birthday card for my husband and the little gifts of granola. Alex, you have created a truly wonderful gem here - bravo! We can't wait to come again.

Fitzbillies is a classic bakery and cafe in Cambridge, known for its traditional pastries and artisan coffee. It's a popular spot for East Anglian fare, offering delicious Chelsea Buns that come highly recommended by locals and even Stephen Fry. The cafe specializes in Traditional Afternoon Tea, making all the bread for finger sandwiches, sultana scones, and mini cakes in their own artisan bakery.
We had the original Chelsea bun, and it met expectations. It was warm, fresh and had lots of small raisins in it. Service was quick, and the lady at the counter was the sweetest. Also not too pricey considering the touristy location, and the cafe’s popularity.
Akhil S — Google review
Nice - pretty typical modern day cafe come cake shop. And while the Chelsea buns may have the same recipe, the way the sugar coating is done nowadays is just not what it was. Fairly average coffee too by modern day standards. Still 4 stars though because I am a picky so and so and you may well find coffee and buns are splendid!
Adam R — Google review
A charming and bustling bakery in Cambridge, best known for its famous Chelsea buns. I ordered a sultana raisin scone served with jam and clotted cream, along with a cup of coffee. The scone was beautifully crisp on the outside, while the cream was rich and indulgent — absolutely delicious. I shared a few Chelsea buns with my friends, and they were every bit as good as their reputation. Although the café was busy, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were served. The lively atmosphere made it the perfect place to enjoy good conversation over excellent pastries. A must-visit spot when in Cambridge.
Tomoe M — Google review
We visited Fitzbillies on a busy Sunday afternoon — it was packed (as expected!) but we managed to get a table without too much waiting. The ordering system is done through your phone, which was convenient overall, though one of the hot drinks was a bit tricky to find on the menu. Of course, we had to try the famous Chelsea bun, and it didn’t disappoint — beautifully sticky, sweet, and rich. They even provided extra golden syrup to pour on top, which was a nice touch. The cappuccino looked great and was well presented, though it could’ve had a bit more depth of flavour. We also had a savoury snack of whipped feta and chickpeas, this was nice but 4 crackers was not enough. The staff were friendly and attentive, even with how busy it was. Overall, a good experience and definitely worth a visit if you’re in Cambridge — especially for the Chelsea bun!
Alamin A — Google review
The cinnamon bun at Fitzbillies is absolutely divine—soft, rich, and bursting with flavor. The café has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the display of fresh pastries is irresistible. A must-visit spot for anyone who loves classic, indulgent baked goods!
Mohammed A — Google review
Came here to check out the iconic Chelsea buns. They were great and lived up to its expectations. Others may find it too sweet for them, but I think it’s a matter of preference and I can appreciate it! We then saw they did afternoon tea, so we tried it: Sandwiches were poor and lacked flavour. Scones were huge (easy split 1 between the 3 of us), and the jam was great. Red velvet cake was amazing. Others were average. Service was really friendly but completely disorganised. Asked for water but never came (mistakes happen, so it’s ok). But while a male waiter was bringing in loads of fresh cutlery, he kept lobbing it in their containers and was constantly making ridiculous amounts of noise. No music was playing and generally the cafe was extremely noisy, given that it wasn’t very busy. Atmosphere was nonexistent. I recommend purchasing your Chelsea buns (as they are worth it) from the bakery beside to takeaway and avoid the cafe. You are not missing much. Value is also on the high side for the quality.
Jeremy O — Google review
After reading many articles mentioning the Chelsea bun is a must have in Cambridge, I was determined to try it before leaving town. I bought some as take away. When I took a bite into the bun moments later, I was utterly disappointed. It was dry and nothing extraordinary. I am not sure what all the hype is about. It was way below my expectations. Only saving grace was the friendly staff I encountered.
J K — Google review
We honestly do not understand how this chain can be so busy, since their flagship pastry is a bun with disappointing hints of whatever flavour they promise. We would not be trying this again. It might be catering for the English palette. The interior design is as dull as they come. The only positive is the generally friendly staff.

Restaurant
Bread & Meat is a charming eatery located in historic Cambridge, offering a compact menu of upscale sandwiches and gourmet dishes. Run by local couples who are passionate about cooking, the restaurant prides itself on using 100% British meats and locally sourced ingredients to create delicious meals from scratch. The concept was born out of their love for cooking roasts at home and the limitations of their small 17th Century building. In addition to sandwiches, they also serve poutine and signature bowls.
An absolute delicious place. Although you're packed in like sardines and there's probably a wait, it's worth the wait too. The soy chicken sandwich is amazing. The chicken is juicy and succulent. The staff are really friendly although so busy it's unbelievable. There's one large table in the middle, then there's the window seats and some seating at the edge. Like I say packed like sardines but so delicious. Well worth a visit

I recently had lunch at Bread and Meat and really enjoyed everything. I ordered the Topside of British Beef, and it was delicious. The dish came with cold sliced beef steak and some beautifully presented vegetables – everything looked and tasted great. The waiter was a very friendly young man and gave excellent service. He made me feel welcome and comfortable. I would definitely go back again and recommend this place to others. was a very friendly young man and gave excellent service. Had the porchetta bowl, previous had a porchetta sandwich and would highly recommend! It is a little pricey but they serve exceptional highly quality food which is very tasty indeed! Takeaway or eating in is just as nice. If eating in you may have to wait for a table at busy times as the restaurant is very popular but small however, it’s well worth the wait once you have a table. Will definitely be going back to try something new! Friendly staff!

Wow. I had Bread and Meat on my list for AGES. And I finally got to Cambridge to finally try their sandwiches and they did not disappoint. They have two options, in restaurant or Takeaway. We chose the second option and got the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and the Porchetta Sandwich, Both options were lovely and just the right size to be filling but not overwhelming. The Porchetta was a wee bit dry (I should’ve ordered some gravy) , but was still thoroughly enjoyable. Staff were friendly and caring towards both inside and takeaway guests. Would recommend
Kian R — Google review
I ordered the Porchetta and it tasted SO good. One of the best food I’ve ever eaten the UK (but then again, I don’t dine out much). The pork is so juicy and crunchy. The bread is pefectly baked. Best eaten while warm.

Loveliest little restaurant I had a romantic table for one and struggled with what to order from the menu until one of the staff delivered a meal to the guy next to me. “I want that please!” I had chosen the Phillip cheesesteak ciabatta with poutine on the side There was so much but it was so tasty I struggled on and ate the lot like a good soldier It was absolutely amazing There was a decent variety of canned beers, no draft unfortunately but that won’t put me off going again for sure
John G — Google review
The best Philly Cheesesteak I’ve had! We were presented the card machine without being shown a bill - the only thing I’d feed back is that I’d prefer to be given the option to confirm the discretionary 12.5% tip, or at least be shown a bill receipt before being brought the card machine.
Callum G — Google review
Great service, quite expensive but the portions are big so worth it overall! Pretty good food overall but a few things could have been better. We had some sangria which was really nice. The only thing that disappointed me is that the cheese curds were too melty and not squeaky like they usually would be. Maybe they aren't proper cheese curds

Jack's Gelato is a popular spot in Cambridge known for its wide variety of housemade gelato flavors. Founded by Jack van Praag, who gained experience working in top-end kitchens around the world, the shop offers intriguing flavor combinations such as salted treacle, malted milk, cardamom and rose, Alphonso mango with chili and salt sorbet, and Earl Grey and plum sorbet.
Wow!! This gelato shop is the best I’ve ever tried! As I approached, I saw lots of people enjoying their gelato, either walking by or sitting nearby. The line was long, but thankfully, the wait wasn’t too long. They offer a wide variety of flavors that change weekly. After some difficult choices, I picked Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt and Coconut Ube, opting for a chocolate dipped cone. The gelato was incredibly smooth, and the cone was nice and crispy. If I return to Cambridge, I will definitely come back to try more flavors! Oh, and they have a mini print vending machine in the shop! I got a cute print, which was a lovely bonus! 😍
SY K — Google review
Dense Ice Cream The shop is always busy. They frequently change their menu, that helps to attract returning customers. The flavours of this time were a bit too sweet for my liking. No matter how many times they change the menu, their ice cream always has very dense texture. It's a very popular shop. Be prepared to queue or scanning their QR code for faster service. Also, the road outside the shop is very busy and narrow. Watch out for the cars and bicycles!
Pui L — Google review
My son has allergies, so it’s always tricky to find gelato or ice cream he can safely enjoy. Often he ends up feeling upset because there’s nothing suitable for him — only parents of children with allergies will truly understand that frustration. Thankfully, Jack’s Gelato was incredibly kind and accommodating. Even though it was busy, the staff didn’t rush us or make us feel like a burden. They were so patient, understanding, and genuinely went above and beyond for my little boy. We were deeply grateful. And the gelato was delicious — rich, gooey, and thick, just the way I love it. If it hadn’t been so tasty, I wouldn’t even be writing this review! It’s already a popular place, but I still want to say — I would highly recommend Jack’s Gelato. Thank you again to the lovely staff for your kindness and care🩷

There was this really long queue stretching even outside the store's entrance. However, I love the quick collection service for people who know what they want and can get fast-tracked, prioritised service - condition is you have to know what you want, can't have free samples and pay online using the QR code. I did just that, and worth it. I got the coconut and ube vegan gelato, and another one of dark chocolate with sea salt (also vegan). Loved them both. Definitely a great dessert treat for those visiting Cambridge.
Yuvraj H — Google review
Definitely an amazing experience but as long as you don't mind a bit of a wait..if you do, go on their website and pick the flavours you want as they have a queue jump window. You can mix and match with some unique and amazing flavours, but also follow their Instagram to find out the unique secret flavour per day. Very delicious
Mike R — Google review
A small place with tasty gelato! It’s not the best I have ever had, but definitely good and worth trying when visiting Cambridge. The options are a bit limited, but it’s a nice spot for a quick treat, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

🍦Cambridge's internet-famous ice cream ~ The flavors change every day ~ because the menu is frequently updated. The queue looked very long, and in a flash, it was lined up 🍦The young ladies are sweeter than ice cream ~ They offered many flavors for tasting, and in the end, I chose the mini Double Ball (dark chocolate sea salt + blackcurrant macas cake)~ 🍦No matter how strong the wind is, I still want sweet ice cream ~
Xiaoling X — Google review
Sometimes the queue could be long but it normally moves quite quickly. They also have an online ordering website where you could "skip the line". It's certainly one of the best gelatos I have ever had! They have different flavours everyday so make sure you check on their Instagram / website before you go! They also have Durian flavour available in sealed cups available in store - unfortunately could not be ordered through the "skip the line" website)

Burger and Fries It's an American style burger restaurant. It has quite a lot of similar rivals around the area. Honest Burgers is one of the rivals. The restaurant has a very limited menu, fries are the default side for the burgers. No salad or coleslaw. Limited cutlery for customers. No wrapping papers for the burgers. You have to eat everything with your hands. I can understand, the rent of the location is not going to be cheap. At least there are tissues on each table and a clean toilet available. The tables and seats are clean. Quiet environment. The food was in generous portions. Everything was freshly made for every order. Hot served. You would get more than you have paid for. Waiting was not long. Very efficient. The restaurant is much bigger than it looks from outside.

Hands down the best burger in Cambridge (and perhaps in the U.K.). I learned about this burger joint through a delivery app called “Foodstuff,” which only works and partners with local restaurants (no chains). As it turned out, this restaurant is located right at the city centre of Cambridge, very close to my work. I am from Latin America and my journey for a decent burger in the city had been largely unsuccessful (and disappointing). After trying several pubs and burger chains, I could simply not find a single one that offered the bare minimum: a tasty and juicy burger patty cooked perfectly (medium or medium-rare). I was on the verge of giving up on burgers for good when I found Steak & Honour. This restaurant made me a believer again. It is certainly the best burger I had in Cambridge (and, I dare to say, in the country) and is totally worth a visit. My only criticism is that the fries were too salty. Other than that, everything was perfect! Please note that seating is available upstairs.

Came here for dinner. The guy who served us was really helpful in making a decision. The meat and ingredients seemed to be really good in quality. I had the “Some Like It Hot” with the homemade jalapeño sauce. It was really good. The sauce was a bit too strong and inky left little space for the meat and cheese flavours. Fries really nice! The “one for ella” burger wAs more of my taste and I really like it. A lot simpler, but also quite balanced. The sauce was delicious. Good selection of craft beers and 3 floors to dine in. Good stop! Reasonable price and quick service. Also good music selection is always a plus!

My recent visit left me with mixed feelings. While the service was quick and efficient, the overall experience wasn’t the best, since I went in with high expectations based on the reviews posted online! The highlight of the meal was the crispy fries. However, the burger itself wasn’t that tasty. The patty was noticeably overcooked and dry, lacking the juicy tenderness that one would expect from a quality burger. The cleanliness of the tables were a bit off-putting. We noticed crumbs and stains scattered across the surfaces.

I was a loyal customer of this place when they first opened and made a beeline back here after having lived abroad for the last few years. The quality and flavor of the locally sourced beef is really quite amazing, and I was pleased to find that it hasn’t changed a bit. I really appreciate the attention to detail with different flavors and ingredients. Also, they have a really great beer selection! Enjoy!!

✓ Vegetarian & Vegan Options WHAT WE HAD: One for Ella [£10] – Brioche bun, Beef patty, smoked bacon, American cheese, lettuce, onion, gherkin and burger sauce; Check the Pulse (Vegetarian) [£10] – Brioche Bun, Bean Burger, Beetroot Pickle, Onion, lettuce and sauces; Sweet Potato Fries [£4] The last time I had Steak and Honour was years ago when they only sold out of their food truck. Back then, I loved their beef burgers in brioche bun. So simple but juicy and flavourful, just no nonsense beef burgers done right with quality ingredients. Last December was my first visit to their store. I am Vegan now but I went there as I was with my mum. She enjoyed the One for Ella (Beef Burger) but wasn’t impressed by it. So, I can’t make a fair assessment whether there is a difference in quality. The Check the Pulse Veggie Burger I had was just ok. Not the best bean patty I had (and was quite thin to me), but overall flavourful and I liked the beetroot pickle. There is two more floors of seating upstairs so shouldn’t be a problem getting a table. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The place was generally kept tidy and clean, with a bright atmosphere.

By far the best burgers in Cambridge!!! The milk bun is soft and delicious. The patty’s are so tasty and the bacon tastes like maple syrup. Everything about this place is fantastic - 10/10 recommend

Fin Boys is a new player in the brunch scene, offering a unique twist on traditional breakfast dishes with items like swordfish bacon and fish sausages. Their menu also features Vietnamese scrambled eggs with Dorset crab and fruit de mer with lobster, oysters, and prawns in bloody mary sauce. The restaurant is known for its sensational tasting menus and seafood-centric brunch options. Guests can enjoy a lively atmosphere overlooking Mill Road while savoring dishes like smoked eel mousse and brill.
I am going to stick my neck out here and say this is the best fish restaurant in have ever been to - and I have been to a few. The decor is simple, but very welcoming. The menu changes daily, so it’s presented on an A4 sheet. It doesn’t feel as special as it is. I liked that charm. There’s no pretension, just mighty fine food and drink. The staff are super friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Actually… that’s probably an understatement. They are passionate about it. The menu is built for sharing. Even if you don’t like that kind of sharing menu, I urge you to put your prejudices to one side just this once, otherwise you wont get to try all the delicious dishes available. We were a three and had 4 small dishes and 3 large. We were well fed and only had enough room for a desert between us. If I had to choose my favourites, id say… The John Dory The prawn toast and The crab crumpets. The wine list is small, but there are some good quality options, even if (as I was) you’re ordering by the glass.

What a place! We’ve been to Fin Boys a couple of times now. On our first visit, we went for the tasting menu—fantastic. It’s a great way to try a bit of everything, mostly cold dishes, all packed with flavor. The second time, we ordered à la carte and had the bass and gurnard—both perfectly cooked. Jonathan was incredibly helpful with the drinks and recommended the Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc + Viognier blend from Napa Valley. It was spot on. If you’re unsure about wine, just go with that—seriously, you won’t regret it. The food and service are top-notch. If you sit at the bar, you can watch the team prepare everything right in front of you. Fin Boys is perfect for a lunch or dinner date. You’re well taken care of and you leave full and happy.

We had a First Class taster menu tonight. Every course was absolutely delicious. Fresh, interesting courses to remember. The sourdough crumpet with black butter, prawn toast and lobster bisque were stand out but every course was prepared with care and consideration. The fish courses were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The staff were wonderful and friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. One of the best taster menus we've had in a long time and would definitely return. You absolutely won't be disappointed!

The food was very fresh and tasty. I had oysters which were plump, juicy and very clean tasting. The lemon sole were of a good size and meaty (fishy). The sauce and flavoured powder which finished the dish slightly overpowered the flavour of the fish, so that was my fault for choosing wrongly off the menu. My husband thoroughly enjoyed both his starter and main. There isn’t much ventilation especially on a very warm summer eve but it won’t stop us returning again.

Given voucher here to enjoy as Xmas treat. The booking system was down when originally organised but called up and booked for Saturday lunchtime and arrived slightly earlier. Very helpful staff and service was quick started with pint of prawns followed with monkfish which saw being cooked in front of me and my partner has cold fish platter. Followed by cheesecake with fresh fruit and cheeseboard was a wonderful lunch experience and thoroughly recommend!!

One of my best dining experiences ever. The food is truly phenomenal, a real experience, all fresh and made right in front of us. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the service was very smooth and we never lacked anything. There's great attention to detail, with focus on beautiful flavours and sustainability. The drinks - house cocktail and wine - were also amazing. A big thanks to the whole team for an incredible evening!

Fancett's is a family-owned bistro-style restaurant located at 96A Mill Road, Cambridge. It offers a fine dining experience with a homely atmosphere and is known for its classic French cuisine. The restaurant has gained popularity for its affordable yet delicious homemade dishes. While it may be challenging to secure weekend bookings in advance, weekdays are more accessible, especially for lunch. Guests have praised the friendly staff and complimentary olives and focaccia bread upon arrival.
Great food, went for my birthday. Menus are set at a good price for amazing quality food. All dishes were great but the venison pasta was so tasty and melted in my mouth. Wine could be better, quality not the same as the food.

Sublime dining experience! The food was just excellent, particularly enjoyed the Guinea Fowl. Service is impeccable and a nice ambiance, if not possibly a little dark. Reading glasses definitely needed if you’re old enough…

This really was one of the best meals I’ve ever been for! All the courses were delicious. I’m vegetarian and even though it’s not a speciality vegetarian restaurant they were amazing. Amazing chefs and all the staff were so friendly and put you at ease. It doesn’t feel too formal. Just a nice place for people who care about food.

We came for lunch and had booked a few weeks in advance. Food was amazing - I can see why the ratings are so high! The fowl leg was incredibly juicy and tender, the moules marinieres came in the most creamy delicious sauce and the cod was beautifully crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tartare sauce it came with was a bit flavourless but aside from that, no complaints - and the plating of everything was lovely. Really recommend trying everything on the menu!! Restaurant itself is quite tiny but it meant the ambience felt intimate and service was extremely quick and efficient, the food came out without much of a wait. Also love how the service charge is incorporated into the menu as well. Incredibly hard to get a meal of this quality for this price anywhere else!!

We foolishly walked in here at 6pm without a reservation and miraculously got a table. All the other tables were reserved and filled up quickly. Now we know why: the food, the wine, and the service are all incredible. Our server Alfie was knowledgeable and fun. I hope we can return (we will make a reservation next time!)

Good quality food for a fair price. I had their three course lunch for just under £50. I added on a foccacia to start, which was warm, and pillowy soft on the inside. The cod roe appetizer, however, was a bit of a let down as the dip tasted one-dimensional. Although the vegetables were fresh, the choice to place them within the dip made it slightly awkward to eat as they were all competing for space. The beer battered cod was quite nice. The batter was crunchy and flavourful with a hint of curry. The fish was soft, flaky, and paired well with the tartar sauce. I also loved the mushy peas underneath which added a fresh sweetness to the dish. Lastly, the rice pudding dessert. This was my favourite. The rice was plump, soft, and had a wonderfully creamy and decadent vanilla flavour. The strawberry sorbet and sauce provided a lovely sweetness and the crunch from the almond nougatine was a great touch. An absolutely wonderful end to my meal. Service was quick, friendly, and not too intrusive. The dining atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. The decor was light and stylish. I would be happy to visit again to try out more of their options!

Good service but the food is not up to the standard . The staff is warm catering and knows the menu well. They managed to pair the wine and dessert wine to my liking. Their service is always gentle and patient. The overall atmosphere is very chill with the right lighting for the food. I have seafood and poultry, which are perfectly cooked to the right degree. Every single ingredient is carefully cut and the freshness of its flavor is well persevered. BUT that is all... The orchestration of flavor is either boring or confusing. Appetizers have too many different flavors, which doesn't blend well. The souffle is pretty much a disaster. Usually souffle is meant to be light and airy for several minutes. But after that, it is expected to collapse, get dense and a bit disgusting. Knowing all these, I have never expected a restaurant to serve freshly disgusting souffle from minute one. My guess is that the content they are trying to add to the souffle is too dense. Probably raisin soaked in alcohol. The alcohol will destroy the supporting power from the egg white (which is already little to begin with!) and of course the raisin is so heavy that it basically dragged everything sinking to the bottom. So that's what we get. A caky case with slimy egg sauce in the middle. Only good for Instagram. After all, I still have a great night there. The ingredients are still good enough. And I really like the staff.

The Cambridge Chop House is an elegant yet rustic restaurant located in a charming vaulted cellar dining room. As the sister restaurant to St Johns Chop House, it offers a traditional British menu with high-quality ingredients, some of which are locally sourced. The establishment is known for its Sunday roast and vegetarian options. Situated on King's Parade near Kings College Chapel, it has received praise from customers for its excellent food and service.
Absolutely lovely food, one of the best meals I've ever had. The portion sizes for the price were more than enough. The food itself had lovely complimentary flavours and the dishes themselves were presented lovely. Waitresses checked often to make sure the food and everything was okay but not too much we felt harrassed.

Can't rate this place highly enough! They accommodated my request for a specific table, even though we booked quite late, and our slightly awkward changes to standard dishes were dealt with easily and with a smile. The service was fantastic, the food fabulous, and there is a nice choice of non-alcoholic drinks, so we could have some sparkling dealcoholised wine. Would absolutely recommend thst you eat here if you're in Cambridge!

Fabulous Food! This was a great find for us with my family. We were looking for a place that was dog friendly were we could eat outside this summer. The Chop House was perfect. The food was fabulous, they were really nice with our dog (even bringing water in a bowl and the view is incredible. The menu was also large enough to suit all the difficult taste of the four of us. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing! One of the highlights of my trip. Coming to the Cambridge Chop House for a Sunday roast was the best decision I made - it completely redefined my view of English cuisine. Now, when I think of English food, I think of their beef Sunday roast. The interior is warm and cozy and its location in the heart of Cambridge makes it perfect for a relaxed lunch after exploring the city. The team is incredibly kind and welcoming. I recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting for Sunday roast. Portions are generous, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Had an amazing dinner here this weekend, ordered the rib-eye for mains and it was superb, fat beautifully rendered and very delicious with all the trimmings on the side. Wine was lovely too. Service was nice also despite it being a busy Saturday evening. Only thing that could have made the experience better is if our special occasion note on our booking would have been perhaps acknowledged throughout our meal. Although I would definitely still recommend!

The restaurant was so disappointing that I haven’t been here for four years. (Yes the steak was bland and lackluster even after two weeks of post-arrival quarantine, and the second meal with friends was equally bad despite the good companionship.) Now with the coming back of tourists, even the staff become ruder than before :) Starters are slow. 40 min wait is unacceptable. Steak is still chewy and tough despite the pinkness. Brighter side- haggis is lovely anyways (redeeming bites); fries are alright; capers are nice addition to the salad. The prawns on the next table are quite impressively large… maybe it can justify +£9 onto add on the salad.

The Oak Bistro, located in a charming Grade II listed building on Lensfield Road in Cambridge, has been serving innovative British and continental cuisine since 2009. The restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience with a smart dining room and a popular summer garden. The cozy and welcoming decor features an abundance of wood accents, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the scrumptious dishes prepared by the talented chefs.
A wonderful classic bistro in the heart of Cambridge, we had a superb meal here with attentive warm service and delicious food. Portion sizes were very generous and we all left feeling very well fed. The scallops, the steak, the lamb and the creme brulee were the favourites of the table. The house red was a superb Bordeaux. We felt that for the quality of food and portion sizes it was very good value; I look forward to hopefully visiting again next time I'm in Cambridge!

What a lovely place! The host is very charming and funny and made us instantly feel welcome, just like in a French countryside bistro. The interior is very tastefully decorated (I loved the painting on the wall above our table!). I ordered the Chargrilled Rib-Eye Steak with truffle butter and French Fries, with wilted spinach as a side, which was all cooked to perfection. The Chocolate Fondant with Stracciatella ice cream for dessert (I know I shouldn't have, but simply couldn't resist - though no regrets whatsoever!) was absolutely to die for. The main reason I had chosen this bistro was its proximity to the Catholic Church, as we had tickets to a concert, and I'm surely glad we did, as it turned out to be a fantastic choice!

We had a delightful lunch experience here. We were on a hunt for a great Beef Wellington and photos from this place got us on the hook. The Wellington itself was the highlight of our visit - it exceeded our expectations! We had a few starters and a swordfish as another main - they were good but probably not perfect, at least not on the same level as the Beef. The desserts were excellent! I also want to highlight the impeccable service we received here - it was probably the most friendly and welcoming service we had in quite a while! I would recommend this place and would come again but I wish they add a bit more finesse to other dishes as well for this place to step up and offer even better experience!

Solid 4.6 Modicum rare scallops. Fresh and juicy (no fishiness). A little salty but go well with the pee puree, which is mellow and sweet. As a mushy pea lover, it’s a big factor in my decision to take scallop instead of prawn. Gnocchi surprisingly comes without sauce (or cheese), less fat I hope. Truffle is on the subtle side. Tomato is tangy and appetizing, interesting combination. Mushrooms are juicy but not slimy. Decided to try the poached pear even if it means I’ll need a takeaway and will still have sugar rush when I try to finish my dissertation. Coconut icecream is really refreshing, light, not too sweet. The pear is delightfully confusing— pear shape, orange color, peach texture, saffron aroma. I should have come earlier in the past four years. But until now it has been quite difficult to book :) Glad I came. Hope my parents can enjoy the food and lovely wine list here someday. Friendly and welcoming people actually. Looking forward to try the other starters and mains.

We were invited to The Oak Bistro for a recent business dinner, and the experience was flawless. The setup was perfect for our group of nine; we were seated at a great table that was quiet enough for effective conversation. Service was excellent and fast. Our waiter was highly attentive and, impressively, even remembered our names. We had all individually pre-ordered our dishes from the three-course menu. Despite the complex and diverse orders for a table of nine, the service was incredibly fast. While all dishes were delicious, the Beef Wellington was the absolute highlight. It was served as an individual portion, cooked exactly to perfection—truly a dream dish. They also offer an excellent, well-curated wine list. Next time I'm in Cambridge, I will certainly choose The Oak Bistro again. Highly recommended!

Cocktail bar
Parker's Tavern, established in 1834, is a luxurious dining venue located within Cambridge University Arms. The restaurant offers a fine selection of British classics and an exquisite afternoon tea experience. Chef Tristan Welch's menu is inspired by the city of Cambridge, with each dish telling a unique story. The afternoon tea options include freshly made finger sandwiches, homemade scones, crayfish boats, truffle and mushroom sausage rolls, and an array of sweet treats.
I recently visited Parker’s Tavern, located within the stunning University Arms Hotel in Cambridge, and had a fantastic experience. Although I didn’t stay overnight, I spent a relaxing evening at the bar, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by warm, attentive staff who made the entire visit feel special. The service was impeccable—friendly yet professional—and made us feel completely at ease. We ordered a few drinks and some small plates to share, and everything was top-notch. The cocktail menu was creative and well-curated, and the drinks were expertly made. The food was equally impressive—high-quality, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The ambience at Parker’s Tavern is what truly sets it apart. The interior strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it ideal whether you’re there for a casual drink or a more special outing. It’s right in the city center, just beside Parker’s Piece, so it’s easily accessible whether you’re a local or visiting Cambridge. It’s a great spot to chill with friends, enjoy a date night, or even bring your family for a relaxed yet refined outing. I didn’t book a stay this time, but after this visit, it’s definitely on my list for next time. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for quality food, drinks, and a memorable atmosphere in the heart of Cambridge.

Parker’s Tavern is traditional, polished, but not pretentious. it's inside the University Arms Hotel, it feels like stepping into a modern twist on a grand old dining hall. The menu celebrates British classics done properly (yes, the roast is worth the hype), and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for a five-star setting.

We had after tea and had a fantastic time. The food and service were excellent the atmosphere as well. What did disapoint us was a heavy charge for a bottle of water. We were asked if we wanted water and we said yes. We thought this might be included in our afternoon tea package. As we went to leave we were asked to pay, we thought, what for? Anyway we had to pay £8 for this which we thought was high. The waiter should have mentioned this and gave us the option for tap water or bottled water. Anyway we still had a great time but this left a sour note.

Breakfast at Parker’s Tavern was a true pleasure during our stay at the University Arms, setting the tone for calm and beautifully paced mornings. The space feels elegant yet inviting, with refined details that make it easy to settle in and unwind. We tried the poached eggs on avocado toast and the full English—both expertly prepared, full of flavour, and presented with care. Hot Numbers Coffee - Gwydir St (Dale's Brewery) is an independent coffee bar and micro-roastery located in a former Victorian brewery. It offers delicious coffee, tasty brunch options, and a vibrant artsy atmosphere with communal tables where students and tourists share stories to the beat of live jazz music. This spot is perfect for spending an afternoon working or reading while enjoying great coffee.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable brunch or breakfast experience, this place is a must-visit. The brunch here is phenomenal—every dish is thoughtfully crafted and full of flavor. I had an iced latte with honey that was just perfect, smooth, subtly sweet, and incredibly comforting. One standout was the chicken shawarma. The bread was unbelievably fresh, and the chicken was marinated to perfection. The pomegranate added a beautiful acidity that balanced out the savory spices in a way that felt almost gourmet. The atmosphere is super cozy, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy your meal. On top of that, the prices are very fair considering the high quality of food and service. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves a good brunch done right.

This is the best place in Cambridge for coffee and brunch. It’s absolutely knockout in terms of quality and choices. Thoroughly enjoyed the granola and Turkish eggs. The coffees are exceptional and retail bags well-priced. Great atmosphere and slick service. When it’s busy it can be noisy, but I only notice that because I’m usually solo.

The barista was very helpful in explaining what was and wasn’t vegan. Just wish there were some vegan pastries but generally catered very well with many veggie options on the menu. I had the cold brew with it milk and the vegan bacon sandwich which was good if a little stingy on the bacon.

Moved into the area a few days ago. I’m not sure if it was my accent, but I was overcharged, and sausage was completely forgotten on a take away order. Pancakes were subpar, and everything was underwhelming. That’s a 4 minute walk from takeaway to kitchen table. That 6 oz listed on their menu is at 3.70, I was charged 4.70 for an oat milk latte at 6oz. The sausages, I am now re-cooking as they hastily just charred the sides but the middle was cold. Adding an extra sausage is a nice “sorry”, but having to go home and re-heat via toaster oven, speaks for itself. Not much attention to detail when taking my order, overcharging negligently or on purpose, not cooking things adequately. Maybe dining in would be different, but don’t get take away from here.

This used to be my go-to spot — great vibe, respectful crowd, and I always made sure to leave before the morning rush. But it’s taken a real turn. The new laptop policy is enforced rigidly even when the place is nearly empty, and the staff — especially senior ones — now feel more like gatekeepers than hosts. The atmosphere has lost its warmth, the coffee isn’t what it used to be, and prices have gone up without the quality to justify it. What makes it harder is that this place once meant a lot — it was a welcoming space where I felt at ease, and even made some lasting connections. It’s disheartening to see it lose that soul, seemingly in pursuit of a few more sales.

Fine dining restaurant
French restaurant
Restaurant
Restaurant Twenty-Two is a charming Victorian fine dining establishment located in a townhouse by the River Cam. The restaurant recently earned its first Michelin Star in March 2023, thanks to the culinary expertise of owners Sam Carter and Alex Olivier. The monthly fixed-price menu features contemporary British dishes that are meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. The cozy ambiance of the Victorian townhouse, with its wooden floorboards and stained glass windows, complements the precise and clean presentation of the menu.
Everything was magnificent from start to finish. The testing menu was versatile and original. It was a 2 h experience worth all the money. We tried for the first time the soft drinks pairing and that was fantastic. The service was spotless, all the courses were timely served and well explained. Definitely a must go if you are a gastronomic enthusiast.

A Truly Exceptional Dining Experience at Restaurant Twenty Two I walked in without a booking, yet was warmly welcomed by Piers, the restaurant manager, who went out of his way to accommodate me with a table. He was incredibly professional—especially during the wine service. He patiently walked me through the menu, helped me pair the perfect wine with my food, and I genuinely admired the calm and confident way he managed both the team and the dining room. I was served by Annabel and Jemima, both of whom added so much to the experience. Annabel was poised, knowledgeable, and confident—she clearly knew the menu inside out and shared thoughtful insights about each dish. Her warm and professional manner made the meal feel truly special. Jemima, although new to the team, was equally delightful—warm, welcoming, and genuine. She gave her first-ever dish explanation to me, and I have to say, she did an excellent job. Together, the whole team made this a standout evening. It’s rare to feel so looked after in such a refined yet relaxed setting. I’ll absolutely be returning.

We attended this wonderful restaurant to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. It's a real hidden gem, the food was phenomenal, and we've visited and tried many tasting menus in London and a few around the world. You can tell that the chefs and team have put an immense amount of effort into curating a beautiful and tasty menu. The flavours were amazing, each course was a taste explosion! And stunning to look at as well. The wine flight was also perfect, introducing us to many types we haven't tried before. The staff were great, so friendly, professional yet knowledgeable. We had such a great time and would highly recommend.

What a wonderful tasting experience at 22! We got the short tasting menu (£110) and were blown away by the tasty food and beautiful presentation. Wonderful service and atmosphere, highly recommend! 10/10
Cindy C — Google review
An outstanding tasting menu, with exceptionally well selected wines in both price levels of wine flights. These guys deserve their Michelin Star for the food and impeccable service. Each course presented beautifully and carefully described. The more expensive wine flight was amazing, such quality but not necessarily from “obvious” locations. Located in an old town house, the atmosphere seems quite intimate, no need for harsh Muzak in the background, lots of care and attention to detail.

I went here for a birthday lunch and I would give it a 4.75, but rounded up to a 5 because a 4 would be in injustice. We got the discovery wine pairing and it was okay but not super imaginative. We probably should have gone for the signature wine pairing or made our own selection. The menu was: Nocellara olives: Good. Hechfield, pickled walnut: Good. Native lobster, sea buckthorn, gochugaru: Exceptional and very interesting. It was my first time eating something that I expected to be solid but it was not. It was surprising and delightful. The lobster taste was subtle and very enjoyable. Yorkshire Longhorn beef and fermented mushroom: Exceptional and also very interesting. I loved the fermented mushroom leafs. Bead and butter: this was my favourite, the brioche was mind blowing and I loved the peaty and the mushroom butter. I had dreams about this after. Newlyn mackerel, jalapeño, Flourish tomato: Very good. The jalapeño ceviche/tartar was fun. Rose veal sweetbread, sweetcorn, vadouvan, black lime: Exceptional and very interesting. It was my first time trying sweetbread and I was pleasantly surprised. Wild Cornish sea bream, girolles, courgette, basil: Very good. This was perfectly cooked and deliciously paired with girolles. St Bride’s duck, salted blackcurrant, beetroot, duck liver: Exceptional. It was perfectly paired with the current and the beets. I particularly liked the liver as well as the dumpling. Amalfi lemon, marigold, almond ice cream: Exceptional. This was refreshing and the perfect thing to have between the duck and the desert. Pedro Ximenez, tonic, Manjari 64%, Tahitian vanilla: Very good. I really liked this. I was expecting the chocolate to be a lot but it was perfectly light. The birthday cake: was a very sweet touch. We didn’t get the petite fours but we wanted them. We weren’t offered the option because we chose to get an aperitif before we wanted to order the petite fours. By the time they came back we were ready to leave anyway. This is the reason why it didn’t get a perfect 5 in my books is because the service was not great at the end of the meal. We were just kind of left upstairs without being given the option to order anything else or pay our bill for a bit too long. We were stilling there waiting for them to come back for about 10-15min. It was a shame to end on that note. Was it worth the cost? Yes. The thing that put us off a bit did not make it not worth it because the rest of the service was impeccable.

Second time, so so good. Obviously a real treat, but worth it. Welcoming, warm staff, delicious, wonderful food. The team are so knowledgeable and clearly proud of their food and drink offering. My sister had the non-alcoholic pairing which was brilliant.

We had such a lovely lunch at Restaurant 22 :) and our first time visiting since they have had their really well-deserved Michelin star! Everything was absolutely delicious, and the staff were brilliant at making you feel relaxed and welcomed. We loved everything, but the mackerel dish, sweetbread dish, and deserts were our highlights! (And the laminated brioche - we could have eaten 10 of these!) Thanks so much!

Restaurant
This vegan restaurant offers a range of delicious, healthy food that is perfect for anyone looking to cut down on their meat intake. From breakfast through to dinner, there's something for everyone at this popular Cambridge eatery. The shop also sells plant-based supplements and cruelty-free beauty products, making it one of the most comprehensive vegan stores around.
If I could give this place more stars, I would!! It was so nice to have such a wonderful choice of food options all made so creatively. I had the “sea bass” which was just incredible, my husband had the king oyster mushroom tacos which were delicious and we shared the Bang Bang Broccoli which was also amazing! I wished we lived closer to visit regularly but we’ll definitely be coming back!
Rebecca J — Google review
Great atmosphere on a Saturday night the service was also fab for a large table. Starters were amazing however the tacos main was very disappointing. They literally crumbled in my hand. I was unable to pick it up and had to use a knife and fork to finish the meal. I would also say that the Taste wasn’t very great either. I ordered a can of flavoured water which was £5 so when severed in a tall glass of ice it really took away any hint of flavour. I did bring this up to the waiter who said that’s how it’s served so be specific when ordering things. The tiramisu was delicious! The meal was quite expensive for what it’s worth

Came here for a Sunday lunch. The food was fantastic, we had the king oyster “scallops” these were melt in the mouth, missing a little sea flavour and a touch on the small side. Bang bang broccoli, this was to die for, quite a big portion, so glad we shared. Nice kick of spice added to it. Fillet mignon was our main, this was so good, the truffle really came through the sauce, my only criticism is that there was a lot of pepper, a little too much for my taste. Overall a great meal.

Visiting from Brighton as this menu looked great and wanted to try. Service was polite and friendly, sat outside as weather was lovely. Had the mushroom scallops and Italian sausage pizza which was generous and the base was spot on. The only negative was that the menu said fries however when served they were more potato wedges and quite chunky. Wifey had the harisa tofu which went down a treat. For desert we opted for raspberry sorbet and the choc cheesecake with blood orange sorbet, both great. Would come back to try more of the menu.

Booked for our anniversary dinner and had such a lovely time. Staff were friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, in fact it was so good we ended up heading back for Sunday lunch the next day! I have to say, the redefine beef flank blew my mind, so tasty, we will definitely be back.

The menu is a delightful array of vibrant, flavorful options that cater to all tastes. Each dish was not only beautifully presented but also bursting with freshness. It’s clear that the chefs prioritize using the highest quality organic ingredients, making every bite a treat. The coffee at Stem & Glory is simply outstanding. It’s rich, aromatic, and perfectly brewed, providing the perfect complement to the delicious meals. Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or just enjoy a good cup, you won’t be disappointed. The atmosphere in the restaurant is incredibly soothing. The décor is thoughtfully designed to create a relaxing and welcoming environment, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful meal. Whether you’re dining solo, with friends, or family, you’ll feel right at home. Overall, Stem & Glory is a gem in the vegan dining scene. With fresh, organic food, amazing coffee, and a calming atmosphere, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Shared a meal here with my partner on Friday and had a fantastic time. We had the steak and the gnocchi, and they were both delicious. I was concerned it would be a tiny serving of gnocchi, but it was pretty generous! The steak was really good, possibly the best imitation steak I've tried. We treated ourselves to drinks and dessert as we were celebrating. My partner has the tiramisu which was perfect, very light and creamy. I had a summer fruits crumble, which was equally delicious. Our waiter was really attentive and friendly, and gave us great recommendations for what to try. Thanks Dave! We will definitely be back, it's wonderful to have a restaurant with so many new things to try.

Noodle shop
Yippee Noodle Bar is a modern and simple eatery that offers a variety of pan-Asian noodles, nibbles, and soups. The restaurant features bench-tables and an open kitchen where everything is cooked to order using fresh ingredients. The menu includes both familiar and unfamiliar Asian dishes, all served in a contemporary setting. The staff are known for their friendliness and willingness to accommodate dietary needs.
Good food, fast service & friendly staff. Place is very clean. The portion is very reasonable.
Jimmy H — Google review
Bitter Stir-fry The rival of this restaurant is the Chinese Canteen. I can understand. We are not in Asia. It's inevitable to adjust the menu to western taste. More chicken than pork options. Or worse, have to swap the original recipe, pork is replaced by chicken. But there are problems in the stir fry ho fan. It tasted bitter. It's the result of putting soy sauce too early while stir frying. It tasted bland. I think the chef only put dark soy sauce for colouring but forget to put soy sauce for saltyness. As a reminder, dark soy sauce(colouring) and soy sauce(saltyness)have different functions. Also, the stir fry was too oily. It is more oily than other Chinese restaurants in Cambridge. Had the same problem like I had experienced in the Chinese Canteen too. I felt very dry and thirsty after eating Yippee for the rest of the day. It's the symptom of consuming food with MSG. But the environment was genuinely clean and tidy. The staff was nice. Hopefully the stir fry will taste better next time so that I can adjust the rating.

Stepped away from the craziness of the main shopping street of Cambridge to this quiet location just a few hundred meters from the main shops. Walked passed many times but never been in. Was not disappointed, I had the crispy noodles which was a generous portion. Wife had the beansprouts and tofu, egg fried rice and plain noodles, all was good. I thought the Chicken satay portion was a bit small for the price. That aside, all the food was very good, served nice and fresh by friendly staff. Would definitely go back.

I hadn’t been to this place for about 10 years and I was so happy to see that it’s still as fantastic as it always was. The food at this place is always absolutely top notch. I had my classic favourite, the roast duck with egg fried rice and it was delicious. The salt and pepper squid starter is also wonderful. Also, the staff are really friendly and service is extremely quick.

I'd been here before and had a really lovely meal, and decided to return a couple of weeks ago with husband and daughter on a quiet Sunday evening. The staff were very friendly and mostly really attentive, although the waitress offered us a jug of water, and never reappeared with one - when I asked again about 15 mins later, she nonchalantly said there's no jugs available. My daughter had salads and she loved them, and my husband had beef noodles which were delicious and very flavoursome, and a really decent amount, too. I love prawns and chose the prawn Tom Yum Mai. When it came it contained all of 2 prawns. Two. Plus 2 small fishballs, 2 cubes of mushroom, and an absolute mountain of totally plain noodles in a small amount of watery broth. To be fair I was offered some extra chillis which was great and helped add some taste. I could only eat half of the noodles so I took half the other half home, and next day I added a large amount of prawns, a shedload of vegetables, some spices, a bit of sauce, coriander and more chillis, and it was much-improved. So, a bit of a mixed experience, all in all.

This location offers an impressive selection of international wines, craft beers, and spirits. The store stocks excellent craft beer options such as Arbor, Brewdog, and Partizan, which are popular for takeaway especially during the summer when visitors enjoy punting on the nearby river Cam.
Impeccable service. Had the pleasure to speak to the owner. Both myself and twin found it an informative experience. He had time to explain and help provide direction on the wine that matched our pallets. Reasonably priced too! Both the owner and Janny were fantastic. Vibes are ace - if there isn't space to accommodate upon arrival, there is seating outside while you temporarily wait. Would highly recommend anyone to visit, whether a wine drinker or not, enjoyable experience for all!

This is an absolutely charming place that you must stop by when you visit Cambridge . Not only can you taste high-quality wines, including some other drinks, but you can also purchase any bottle you like. The atmosphere is warm and the hospitality is truly gracious.”

The atmosphere inside of the Cambridge wine merchants is absolutely amazing. It’s quiet but you can still hear conversations echoing around the room. We went on a cosy winter night and we were recommended this light fine based on the food we had earlier on. This was a brilliant suggestion as it tasted great. But nothing beats the backdrop of all the different bottle options.

We went there for drinks. I went inside, spoke to someone to check whether my friends had booked. No as they don't take bookings so I said I would look around for them. Went outside and a table became free so I sat down. My friends arrived. The same man came over and told us to move because he had people waiting inside for an outside table. He hadn't told me that before. We would have had no issue with this once we knew there was a waiting list but he was so rude and offhanded to us, we left. It was a misunderstanding, we were not trying to jump the queue and the way he spoke to us was brusque to the extreme. We won't be returning.

While the wine is excellent, and the service is usually good if you turn up in a group of the "usual crowd" for such a place, I have experienced drastic shifts to disgruntled haughtiness on several occasions in different company. Not sure what motivates these changes in service, and it's a shame as it's usually very nice on those visits where this doesn't happen. Hopefully this isn't intentional, as one would expect the place to be welcoming regardless of class, age, wine expertise, town/gown etc.

A superb and incredibly well stocked store. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, and very keen to help and advise. We tried some cheeses including Stinking Bishop, which was a bit too much for me I'll be honest, but left with some maida vale, a blue and another semi soft which I forget the name of. A must visit for any casual cheese appreciator when in the area. Great shop.

This is now our favorite cheese shop in England! Every cheese in these shop is worth trying. You can see that quality is of utmost importance to the proprietors. Camilla was a fountain of information. Ask her anything regarding cheese produced by cow, sheep or goat. You will learn new things and you will eat amazing cheeses :))) If we lived in Cambridge, we would visit this shop every week. Scarlet was the person who helped us with our order. She had only been employed at the shop for three months and she described the different cheeses we asked about with grace and competence. This was another example of how this shop cares about the quality of your experience. You can also find the most wonderful condiments and biscuits to accompany your cheese. A wonderful place!

Nestled in Cambridge, The Olive Grove is a family-run restaurant that offers a modern twist on classic Greek dishes. Emphasizing simplicity and healthy living, the menu features traditional Greek cuisine prepared with seasonal, local, and organic vegetables. The restaurant also implements sustainable and green practices in its management. Diners can savor Mediterranean flavors such as peinirli pizza, moussaka, and mixed grills.
Greek Menu The portions were much bigger than we expected. Food was prepared for every order. The sandwiches were hot when delivered. Happy to get fresh mint tea, not a lot of restaurants have this options. You can ask the staff not to add any sugar into your tea. Prices were surprisingly reasonable. The tables and seats are not too close to each other. Clean and roomy toilets. The overall environment is comfortable for customers. I would return to try other items on the menu!

So disappointed, decided to use this place to take my hubby for the slow cooked lamb. On arrival we were seated but then left for ten minutes, no offer of a drink or given the menu. I had to get up to go look for someone. We were served by a really nice happy young guy that seemed to be doing everything on his own, up and down the stairs constantly. We finally got our drinks but we quickly put our food order in as we had already established it was short staffed. My hubby ordered his lamb shank i opted for a orange and fennel salad with chicken. When it came we requested some bread too. I was very disappointed with the size of my salad and lack of chicken, for 15.50 it was in a cereal type bowl, however it was tasty. We didn't get the bread till after we had finished eating. We did voice our opinion to the waiter and he gave us a discount of a free tonic water. Very dissapointed with the service and the portion sizes for value for money. It felt like they were just winging it and had no staff, we wouldn't return, first impressions mean a lot

That thoughtful gesture went above and beyond and made our visit extra special. We truly recommend this restaurant to others and will definitely be coming back!

This is a cute little café like resturant with heaping portions of Greek goodness. I particularly enjoyed the lamb kaftan and lamb cutlet. The potatoes where a bit undergone for my taste but, in fairness, I didn't ask them to redo them so this remains five stars. The portions are american size for a very fair price, without sacrificing quality or taste. I had the prickly peach drink and LOVED it. A true craftsman came up with this delightful balance of sweet and tart with a foam blanket on top. I am a sucker for foam. Just lovely! The service was very good, but a bit slow and could have checked on us more often. Water being the need. 4/5. Super friendly. Go out of your way for this Greek island gem.

Each bite was a delightful mix of bold, rich tastes that only a true expert in Indian cuisine can deliver. To top it off, the dessert was nothing short of amazing—sweet, indulgent, and a perfect end to a flavorful meal. The mocktails were just as impressive, offering refreshing and delicious flavors that complemented the meal beautifully. We rate this experience a solid 10/10. Truly magnificent, flavourful food with top quality presentation. Not only is the food excellent but the service is also first class. All the staff, especially Naeem, were always smiling and couldn't do enough for you. Seating is ample and comfortable, and love that they have bollywood music playing in the background. If you live in Cambridge, or are just visiting then I would highly recommend Taj Tandoori.

Barbecue restaurant
Lunch restaurant
Smokeworks is a vibrant, industrial-style diner known for its barbecue ribs, chicken, beers, and shakes. With a no-bookings policy, it's perfect for spontaneous indulgence on rainy days. Located just a short walk from the main station in Cambridge, this American-style joint offers decadent dishes like pork belly benedict and loaded pulled pork breakfast fries during Saturday brunch.
Came here today for a bit of a late lunch after mooching around Cambridge for the day. I went for the ribs and wings combo deal with a side of onion rings, the other half went for the burger, side and drink meal deal offer they had on for lunch time. For drinks I had an iced tea and she the other half had a lemonade. We were seated at around half 2, our orders were taken after around 10 minutes of deciding and twisting the button on the wall to say we were ready, and the food came out 10-15 minutes after. The ribs were lovely, tender and coated in a rich sauce. The fries were seasoned properly, hot and crisp with a fluffy inside, the corn on the cob was cooked nicely and well buttered, the slaw was beautiful, and the wings.... THE WINGS were my favourite part of the dish. A beautifully crispy light batter on the outside, tender, juicy and flavoursome chicken on the inside. The onion rings were spot on too! As for the other halves food, I didn't taste the pulled pork burger, but she said it was really good. The tater tots were blooming lovely though! As for the drinks, both the lemonade and iced tea were lovely and nicely chilled. We also had a carafe of tap water for the table. Overall, a great first time experience at this place, and we'll definitely return in the future. Also a big shout out to the staff working today, you were absolutely spot on, especially when dealing with the chap behind us who said his food was dry, (sure it was mate 🙄) but only when the bill came... Just get the attention of the staff when you have the issue, not when you are paying 😂

Absolutely delicious! One of the best BBQ places in Cambridge. We tried the beef burger, ribs, fries and the Carolina BBQ sauce – everything was fantastic. The meat was juicy, tender and full of flavor, and the ribs were just perfect. If you love sweet barbecue sauce, definitely try the Carolina BBQ – it’s rich, smoky and slightly sweet, just amazing! Highly recommended.

Having successfully solved our murder mystery tour of Cambridge taking in the sights our nearest eatery was the Smokeworks... hopefully that won't be a spoiler for anyone about to do the tour! After a little wait for the food once again Martyn picks the wrong dish 😆. I went for the Vianna Beef hotdog. It was okay but wished I'd gone for the Maccy Cheese my partner went for... luckily I was on hand to help out. Very tasty! Would definitely get that next time!

5 stars all day long! Really, really can speak highly enough - staff, be proud you were amazing! Lovely welcome, great explanation of the menu and the cool red attention switch. Great BBQ options, I chose a rib platter with wings. The food was incredible, best wings, well cooked and flavoured rib, even the fries, ohhhh yes! The staff checked in throughout and were just so welcoming. I might have to come back tomorrow! Last comment - peach beer 'brewksi' was real refreshing. Thanks team - great meal.

Good atmosphere, good beer, great service. Great choice of food! Had the platter for one and the spicy nachos. They were both nicely hot when served, something other restaurants could learn from. Why a 4 and not a 5? My baby back ribs were a bit chewy towards the end, I personally like them cooked longer. The wings were perfect! It's a place you must visit!
Brian D — Google review
I ate the pulled pork sandwich, and Abby had chicken fingers. Pulled pork was good, bun was excellent and the coleslaw was a great addition. I would have liked more of a NC vinegar based sauce, but this was very good. Abby has no complaints about the chicken!

Love the food here it is just filled with lots of meat cooked to fall off the bone as well as burgers and wings and all sorts. Very nice welcoming staff and fast service. Would definitely come back. It's worth it!

Get yourself in here for a tasty treat!! Visited 6th July 25. Town was buzzing, it was lunchtime and it's been bloody ages since we have visited this little gem of a restaurant - will there be any room at the inn I wondered as we approached? No booking, on a Sunday and at lunchtime is the kinda gamble I go for. The team member of the front desk was fabulous and managed to squeeze us in despite the initial fear of being turned away. What followed was quite simply great food, fabulous service in restaurant with an awesome atmosphere. As always my eyes lit at the delights listed on the menu. What shall I go for today ..... always feel like the big dog at work so the BIG dawg felt right up my street & the good lady wife opted for the Mac n Cheese. Boy oh boy these guys served up a treat. Super tasty with melt in the mouth pulled pork on a bad boy big dog and a mac n cheese made to perfection. If you're reading this contemplating where to eat today then let me tell you plain and simple - look no further you've found the place go. Thanks to all the team and a special thanks to the young lady that found us a seat at clearly a busy time. We loved every moment and every mouthful what more could we have asked for. 🫶 THANK YOU

Fine dining restaurant
Navadhanya is a refined restaurant in the city center, offering gourmet Indian cuisine prepared by experienced chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants. The menu features contemporary Indian dishes made with seasonal and sustainable ingredients. Guests can indulge in a seven-course tasting menu or choose from the impressive a la carte selection, which includes specialties like tandoori rabbit. For those seeking international cuisine, Navadhanya stands out among other Indian restaurants in the area.
Honestly an amazing experience; customer service was impressive, food was splendid, and even the beverages were top rate. The saffron rice was worth multiple trips to this establishment alone. Obviously there are many incredible and interesting dishes with each we tried genuinely making us happy. Looks like it has been on the Michelin Guide a few times and deservedly so in my opinion. Highly recommended!

We had a delightful time celebrating my birthday yesterday. We opted for a tasting menu, which included one vegetarian and one meat course. Overall, we enjoyed the food. Some dishes were particularly delicious, like the starter and sparkling tea, while others were less to our liking. The vegetarian menu didn’t quite meet our expectations. However, we appreciated the food and service. The only issue I had was the location of our table. It was right next to the service door, which meant that waitresses were constantly coming and going with empty dishes. The door made a loud noise every time someone used it, which was quite distracting. I tried to focus on the food, but it was hard to ignore the noise. Despite this annoyance, the food was good enough to make up for it.

Wow wow wow! We've been meaning to visit Navadhanya for a long time and wish we'd come sooner! Just incredible from start to finish! We had the 7 courses taster menu along with some other dishes and every plate of food was a taste sensation and work of art! Each being explained by the very polite waiting staff who couldn't do enough for you! We cannot recommend this restaurant enough and hope to return in the not too distant future! Thank you very much indeed! 🙏

The food here was simply outstanding. Best Indian I have had by a country mile! The lobster masala was to die for! Well worth it! It did feel like the those on the tasting menu were more prioritised in terms of attentiveness and clearing plates. However the food and the atmosphere was simply stunning! Will definitely be back!

Simply brilliant - great menu, attention to detail, service, location (even parking). Best Indian food in the UK,

The menu looks exciting, the pictures look great, the food was very poor. No standout dish from our selection and the 18 spice blend tasted flat like bistro gravy. Was so looking forward to a culinary step up to have probably one of the worst meals in a very long time. Avoid.

Absolutely exquisite! Beautiful food, had the taster menu. Food served and explained very well to us. Friendly staff and every course was exceptionally well presented and delicious. Especially enjoyed the fish course, could of eaten a big plate of that by itself! Definitely recommend and will definitely go back next time we visit cambridge. North African restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in Cambridge, Bedouin offers a relaxed dining experience within a tent-like space adorned with carved wooden furniture. Established in 2011, the restaurant takes its name from the vast territory stretching from North Africa to the Middle East. The authentic North African atmosphere is set by a real Bedouin tent and Sahara wall rugs. It's popular among locals and students, so reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.
What a great place! Amazing ambience! Fantastic food! Excellent service! Lovely pickles dish to start with One fish tagine and one meatball tagine with rice and couscous and an extra tagine bread. Both very tasty and if you want to be really filled then go for the lamb meatball, so much cheese I was unsure I would be able to get up! This is a must visit place!
Brian D — Google review
A randomly selected North African-style restaurant It's really hard to imagine what comes up just based on the ingredients, allergens and cooking methods provided on the menu 😋Fortunately, I didn't make a mistake. The mutton, beef and fish I chose were all super flavorful. As for the main course, I highly recommend that pancake. It's a hundred times better than crushed rice 🥹Appetizer: a plate of pickles. Salt is free. 💔It's unpleasant that the business in the store is so good that we were urged to make way in 10 minutes before we finish our meals.

Very tasty food. Our dishes were especially fresh and healthy. Ambience is great. The restaurant has low cushioned seats, is lined with thick fabrics, and is nice and warm; you feel transported to another world. Attentive and helpful staff. I like that there is no alcohol on the menu. We got a small pot of mint tea which complemented our meal. The Arabic style eton mess dessert was divine. I also think it is great value for money
J L — Google review
Orded the prawns for the starter. The lamb and the marinated chicken as main. Lamb shank is so tender that it fell off the bone easily. All the dishes were full of rich spice aromas. and the bread tasted amazing with the sauce. The mint tea is refreshing. Great food.

Incredible experience, the food was fantastic and the service was second to none. We enjoyed every dish we ordered: The roast chicken (Djedj M’hamer), Tagine Kefte and Tagine Berkook. All the dishes were deliciously aromatic and very well presented. The service was incredible, the staff anticipated our needs and were beyond polite and friendly. The atmosphere transported us to another world. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it!

Had a fantastic Moroccan dinner, food was really tasty, perfectly seasoned with subtle spices, huge portions and reasonably priced. We had lamb meatballs, 2 different chicken dishes and a lamb shank stew. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
C K — Google review
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, service was pleasant & this review is based solely on the taste of food. After reading all these positive reviews, I thought I would make this my lunch treat of the day while visiting Cambridge. Server recommended the lamb shank at 23 quids. I love lamb & was highly disappointed when I tasted it. Felt like they boiled it in water till the meat was softened then rolled it around in some tomato base for 10min to warm up the watery sauce & plopped lentils in and a tasteless potato for looks. If meat was done right & stewed for an hour with spices, it should have taste & flavor! The bread they gave me had more salty flavors (albeit blah overall) than the meat. Very displeased & unhappy with this meal & truly would not recommend the lamb or maybe this restaurant overall.

Nestled a bit outside the bustling heart of Cambridge, The Wrestlers Pub is a delightful find for those seeking a unique dining experience. This charming establishment boasts an inviting open interior and serves up an impressive selection of real ales on tap, sourced from nearby breweries like Charlie Wells and BrewPoint. However, what truly sets The Wrestlers apart is its renowned Thai kitchen, offering a menu filled with classic dishes that are both delicious and reasonably priced.
Went here with people from work for our monthly social. Was absolutely blown away by the food. When i asked about a gluten free menu i was told the whole menu could be prepared gluten free and wow was the food amazing and i could eat in comfort knowing that thy obviously knew what they were doing. I got the prawn crackers and the chicken jungle curry.. it was super super tasty loads of perfectly cooked chicken and veggies a very nice portion of jasmin rice and a flavourful curry.. will be going back at every opportunity 10/10!

Thai Pub Reviewing the Cambridge pubs therefore entered this pub. It's a pub with very limited starters. Not even satay skewers and fish cakes? The rice noodles, both the stir fry and soup, were broken mostly. So I need to use a spoon or fork rather than chopsticks to eat. The beef were just basic, the beef in the curry and soup noodle were identical in shape and texture. The portions of the dishes were generally small. It reflects from the prices I guess. The environment and toilets were clean. The staff were nice and helpful. As a restaurant with a Thai menu, the food was not as good as Giggling Squid or Luk Thai. But as a pub, it's impressive to see it doing something different rather than just pub classics. Or customers might forget and wouldn't return.

I’ve wanted to visit this place for some time, but it’s a bit out of the way. However today it was really close to my hotel so I made a concerted effort to get there. I was not disappointed. The pint of Tribute I had was excellent. I’ve drunk it many times before, but never tasting this good. My Thai chicken jungle curry was excellent and served quickly. A good sized portion for the price. Other customers were sat chatting and grazing on prawn crackers. Highly recommended.

Have heard so many great thinngs about this place and it did not disappoint! The prices for the food served is amazing! The food was delicious, generous portions, lovely staff and great service. Only thing missing you, but didnt ruin meal at all would of been some starter options. Nice surprise to find good Thai food in a pub. Staff were great, prices reasonable and food delicious. They are happy to make the food to your spice level. I like spicy and it definitely came with some punch. It feels more like a restaurant than a pub as most people were eating and it seems to be local people mainly dining there. Definitely worth a stop for a bite.

Such a great experience. Staff were so attentive and seated us within 10 mins (expect waiting time of 15-20 min during peak times). Food arrived fast and everything tasted great! Portions were very generous and probably would avoid starters if having pho/soup/noodle dishes.

Love the vibes. The staff and crew are attentive and friendly! The food was fantastic and flavorful. The pho broth is soothing, warming, hearty, and clear (not fatty or weak). The crispy spring rolls are exactly that - crispy but not oily and the veges are a flavorful and light. Absolutely recommend this place when you are looking to warm your belly on a chilly night. Great for groups or as a solo eater.

I went on a really busy evening and I was in a rush to catch my train back to London. I was able to place my order, eat and enjoy. And although the team forgot to give me a fork and it took a while to pay for the bill they gave such a warm and pleasant energy at my visit at Cambridge. I was even able to get a student discount! It was very busy so I understand. Otherwise, my experience was great I always love a pho!

Honestly, hands down the best experience. If you’re looking for good service and good food. Pho was the way to go. We were not rushed at any point the service was TOP NOTCH. Our waitress Rohana, was the sweetest person. She took the best care of us and to be honest the food was insanely good. If I could give the waitress a million stars. I would. But will be coming back. My recommendation is to get the baby squid.
Divya K — Google review
Had lunch at Pho Cambridge and really enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. We ordered a bowl of Vietnamese pho and a chicken fried noodles dish. The pho was quite nice, flavorful and comforting. However, the chicken fried noodles turned out to be more like a Thai-style Pad Thai, with a very strong lemongrass flavor. It didn’t quite have the taste or aroma you’d usually expect from Pad Thai or Vietnamese stir-fried noodles. Perhaps the recipe or cooking style could be adjusted a little to better match the description on the menu. Overall, it was still a lovely dining experience — great environment, attentive service, and even a postcard given at the end, which was a sweet touch.

The Clarendon Arms is a well-loved independent pub located in the heart of Cambridge. The pub has a delicious gastro menu with classic and innovative dishes, as well as an excellent beer garden that's perfect for enjoying a drink before dinner. The Clarendon Arms is famously dog friendly, so if your pup is up for some fresh air and some good old-fashioned British pub grub, this is the place to go!
Italian Green King Writing reviews of the Cambridge pubs therefore entered this pub. Despite most of the photos of other reviewers being just regular pub food, it has Italian menu. The pizza crust was thin. Therefore the crust was not chewy. Everyone can eat it easily, that including the ones with weaker teeth. The pizza had very generous toppings, which was quite rare these days. The pasta too, had a very generous amount of seafood. The tiramisu was not as creamy as Signorelli's deli but the bitter sweet taste was nice. Not everyone prefers blind sweets. The environment was quiet and clean. A nice place to chill. Should give the Italian menu a go. I would come back to try other pizza and pasta!

Simply the worst roast dinner l've ever had. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were inedible and very obviously reheated in a microwave. It's hard to muck up roast meat, but even that hadn't been seasoned properly. There was plenty of it though. Biggest clue of a bad meal; flavourless gravy slopped over the whole thing. The food took 35-40mins to arrive. Then we had to wait a further 5-10 for the cauliflower cheese, after chasing up twice. The reviews on here have obviously been left some time ago and even one of the other patrons commented on how it used to be a fantastic roast dinner, but was no longer the case. Hopefully more recent reviews catch-up and other potential diners don't make the mistake I did. Avoid this place at all costs.

I've tried to be generous with my star rating. Booked for lunchtime meal for 10, Inc 2 babies. They had no room and weren't ready for us. The boss had 'gone out' and left staff to struggle. We eventually made our own space and moved our own tables. Then we waited.... For staff to take our order for drinks. Music drowned out any conversation we tried to make. The food order took for ages to arrive and the first served were finished before the last got theirs. Their idea of rare meat was infact overdone. The experience was unpleasant and disorganised. The staff did try but we're clearly overworked, they apologised in full knowledge that it wasn't what was expected. I guess we've got the pubs boss to thank.

Conveniently situated near Cambridge station, it's an ideal dining spot for those traveling by rail.
This was our second visit to Cambridge and Tava Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint! Our first experience left a lasting impression, so we were eager to return. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and as we had booked ahead, they promptly asked for our name and seated us right away. The service was excellent, with the waitresses being attentive and friendly throughout our meal, making the entire dining experience pleasant. The food was served in good time, and we went for the Tikka Masala, which we requested to be spicy – and it was spot on! The curry had exceptional depth of flavor, hitting all the right notes and really awakening the taste buds. The rotis were a perfect complement – light, fluffy, and served warm. We prefer them over naan as they are less filling but equally delicious. Overall, the atmosphere was cozy, and the dining experience was consistently good. Tava Kitchen is definitely a place we will return to when visiting Cambridge again! Highly recommended.

The overall experience was good. Setting: 8/10 Would recommend to go with friends during lunch or dinner time. They have lunch menus with reasonable prices. Authenticity: 9/10 The variety of food choices including nuns gives an authentic vibe. Chiefs are mainly Indian. ✨Highlight: Other Options may depend on personal choices, but 🍟Masala Chips (10/10) is a to have as long as one does not hate potatoes. The spice into the well-fried yet not oily potatoes was a thumbs up. Mango Lassi (8.5/10): creamy texture with cardamom undertone, good to accompany the spice. Hyderabadi Lamb Keema (7.5/10): the wrap is a good one for lunch, with well mixed vegetables, but the lamb was a bit dry. Chicken Taka Tak (8/10): from the brief taste that it’s a typical chicken masala, and conventionally performed. Express Thali and Biryani were also ordered. Express Thali might be recommended to taste multiple types in one dish. “Choose from Kadai Paneer or Murgh Tikka Masala with Dal Makhani, Roti, Rice, Far far, Raita and Pickle served on a traditional thali” ✨Reminder: many options may contain quite a mount of spice. Scoring Standard: Cambridge

I recently had lunch at Tawa Kitchen in Cambridge, and it was fantastic! The flavours were vibrant and the customer service was outstanding—attentive and friendly. We had Chicken Biriyani, Express Thaali, some Samosas, and, of course, mango lassi! Each dish was beautifully prepared and presented. Our lunch was so impressive that we can’t wait to come back for dinner. Highly recommended!

The venue is nice, great staff and service good. Felt a little rushed at time with the push to take the orders for the starters, mains, and deserts. The lamb chops and chilli chickens starters highly recommend. The talapia fish mains with the malabar paratha must have. It's was nice and spicy with the fish perfect. The desert I had was the red carrot halva with kulfi was not good as it looked and I thought it would be. The kulfi was yum the halva not my thing. Pistachio cake was great as it looked. Rich and tasty. Very recommend. The rum Chai cocktail was a delight. You can easily have several of those. The Indian Chai was surprisingly nice. Overall a good place for a meal.

Pub
Bar
The Free Press is a charming, dimly-lit pub located in a quiet backstreet of Cambridge. Run by local siblings, Megan and Thomas Stepney, this century-old establishment offers an intimate atmosphere with a fireplace and a walled garden. Despite its hidden location, it's popular among locals for its large array of award-winning beers and ales. The pub's cozy interior and eclectic decor make it a favorite hangout spot for both locals and their furry companions.
This pub is delicious!! Decent scotch egg. Jammy yolk (though not runny), crunchy shell, balanced spice, and not-greasy pork. The salad is great. “Steak is special, but the risotto will always be there”— that’s why I never get to the classic menu in restaurants haha. Perfectly cooked, lean but tender and juicy. (To be honest I didn’t expect much for a pub but this was a good surprise.) The salad sauce is citrusy and refreshing. It soaked the steak as well so I really didn’t need the satay sauce :3 the chips are dangerously crispy, unlike those in many other British restaurants. The white sauce for the scallops is delightful, light with a hint of lemon. The scallops are on the slightly undercooked side. I like raw food, but maybe frying it a little longer would work better with the sauce. The mushrooms are lovely. The staff are friendly, and the young lady at the bar gives god recommendations. Looking forward to coming back for the regular menu (and specials). (Rarebit and anchovies, Jerusalem artichoke risottos, blood orange scallops… all sound nice too!

Classic English pub vibes: cozy inside, relaxed atmosphere & the playlist actually fit the vibe. Walked in without a reservation and still got seated. Broke my long-standing no-fish streak for the fish & chips — and honestly? No regrets. Tasty, crispy, and a great-sized portion for the price. All in all, a great spot. I’d absolutely come back 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Great little pub with friendly people, great drinks, and great food. I was lucky enough to visit during a cider tap takeover and a neighborhood outdoor event, and the selection was fantastic. I also had their Scotch egg, which was one of the best I’ve ever had, and their cheesy chips, which were an excellent value. It’s a great, quiet neighborhood pub that’s well worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Cambridge.

This pub gets very crowded on weekends. Really tasty fish and chips and burger. Generous portions. Sides like chips and mushy peas were very good, too.
Gladys H — Google review
Cool little pub, with a good vibe. Friendly staff, reasonably priced. Food is solid but wouldn't go out my way for it. Chips were solid, the roast didnt feel like great value because you get one slice of meat and was quite chewy.

Cosy traditional pub - back garden room was lovely! Excellent food. Only trouble we had was the tables/seating was quite crammed in (we had to keep asking an elderly chap to get up and down if we needed to go to the bar etc.) Staff were a little unfriendly, but overall nice place!
Emma B — Google review
A fantastic pub with a warm atmosphere and an excellent selection of food. The menu is clearly labelled with allergens, including plenty of gluten-free options. We tried the gluten-free risotto and the Goan prawn curry, and both were absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food with thoughtful dietary accommodation! No gluten free beer on tap though.

While staying in Cambridge, we were delighted by this pub. Very good quality of food as well as the quantity not to mention the staff, who was willing to give the best service. Needless is to say how mouthwatering the dessert was and how friendly the people were. Long story short, I highly recommend this pub to those who are visiting this amazing town. Thank you for your service ;) Greetings from Barcelona

Mexican restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Nanna Mexico is a popular Mexican food spot in Cambridge, known for its big ass burrito and simple yet ingenious menu. Starting as a sought-after mobile food van, it has expanded to two bustling restaurants while still operating the trusty van around business districts and tourist areas. The Subway of Mexican food, Nanna Mexico offers customizable wraps with various fillings and spice levels. It's perfect for those seeking easy, cheap, and unique fast food.
I've been coming here for years and Nanna Mexico never misses. Service is super speedy, staff are friendly and efficient and the burritos are sooooo good. The portions are so generous, it barely fits in the tortilla! Can't recommend this place enough, love you Nanna 🫶
Evangeline C — Google review
This is closer to a 3.5/5 for me - the pricing is definitely on the pricier side, but there is a 10% discount for students. The food is also nice, but nothing crazy in terms of flavour. The portions are also mid - neither small nor big. Huge bonus though: they serve halal chicken (but have no other halal options)
Fatema H — Google review
The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. That’s about it. It was no where near any Mexican Flavours. All we tasted was SALT. Definitely not going back.

While the Mexican food wasn't the most authentic, it was certainly enjoyable afterall it is more liks a fast food place. A major plus was finding Jarritos on the menu! The staff were welcoming, and we appreciated having plenty of space to sit on the upper level

Food is one of if not the best in Cambridgshire let alone Cambridge. You gt food really fast and it's made right in front of you. Lastly the atmosphere is great with music and the amazing seating.

Unfortunately nanna mexico has gone very downhill since covid. The flavours have become very bland and the staff have no idea what they are doing. The Norwich branch has already closed and I can see this branch closing in the near future.

Juicy Burritos The shop has quite a lot of protein options. Chicken with or without chorizo, beef, pork belly, pulled pork and lamb. We ordered 2 burritos. The staff were very efficient therefore we did not wait long. The meat was very tender, juicy and seasoned. So well prepared. If you have high standard in the protein filling of a sandwich, this will be the shop for you.

It’s was our first time visiting Cambridge together and we absolutely loved it — part of the reason was the breakfast experience here at Savino’s. Here’s a photo of us having coming back for quick morning coffee on my wife’s birthday. Beautiful people, beautiful experience. Can’t wait to be back.

Lovely friendly family-run Italian caffe bar. My feta, humous and salad sandwich was so tasty! The incredients tasted of the highest quality. They have a great selection of food, coffees, teas and cold drinks. Can't wait to go again! Highly recommend 👌

It's a nice small locally-owned café with good coffee and great sandwiches on excellent bread. Doesn't try to be anything fancy, and that's great about it. Orders of magnitude better than the nearby chain coffee shops. I had a salami, brie, tomato and oregano sandwich on focaccia that was excellent.

Great little family- run italian cafe right near the bus station. Both our paninos were delicious, particularly the homemade pesto. Good selection of hot and cold drinks plus homemade pastries and cakes. Would highly recommend.

Amazing food! Priced highly but worth it. Everything is served piping hot and seems very authentic; the staff are all Italian. Coffee tastes really good and the food (paninis and salads) is delicious. There are both vegetarian and meat options. Presented beautifully. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Great coffee and an even better playlist. I know that the playlist bit may seem like a moot point, but even other customers were commenting on how great the playlist was! It makes it a great place to do some work.

Amazing pastry! crispy shell with a warm chocolate filling. Also love the smell of baked goods that wafts in the space. — Coming back before catching a bus. Tried the new breakfast special, omelette panino. Lovely freshly cooked omelette, filled with flavorful peppers and chicken pieces, stuffed in piping hot toasted ciabatta. Heavenly heart-warming and filling breakfast. Very welcoming and efficient service. The blackboard always tempts me with so many combinations… and Brie/cheddar/mozzarella cheese croissant sounds delicious.

Spanish restaurant
Restaurant
Mercado Central is a cozy spot in a beautiful Cambridge townhouse, drawing inspiration from Spain's historic markets and restaurants. The restaurant focuses on the owner's Galician and Basque heritage, offering an exciting menu cooked in an open kitchen. The quality of food shopping sets Mercado Central apart, with a focus on sustainable British and Spanish produce. From exquisite Galician seafood to authentic tapas and perfectly prepared paella, the restaurant transports diners to Spain with its flavorful offerings.
I had a wonderful dining experience at this stylish Spanish restaurant in Cambridge. The grilled octopus tentacle as a starter was outstanding – perfectly cooked with incredible seasoning that really brought out the flavor. The squid ink risotto as a main was rich and flavorful, with just the right texture. Beautiful plating, great atmosphere, and friendly (and good-looking!) staff. Highly recommended.
Dinghuang Z — Google review
Had a great time with my wife here. We ordered their 3-course (to share between us) plus two starters and a glass of white sangria. Came out to be around 70+ pounds. Most items were reasonably priced except the scallops. 16.50 for two scallops was somewhat unreasonable, but rest of the meal was fine.
Bo-Shiun L — Google review
The general restaurant is okay, the service was good, and the atmosphere was also decent albeit slightly too loud. However the menu is quite confusing, and the value for money is horrendous. I had the Iberian ham which was 36£ + 12.5% service charge and it was just the piece of meat on top of a bed of vegetables and beans. The meat was good and tasted well but there wasn’t much of it and the beans and vegetables were, at best, average. The beans had little flavour and were basically the whole meal. Should have been beans with ham and not the other way round. I ended up having pains in my stomach for around 3-4 hours after the beans. My girlfriend had the paella and she didn’t mind it, I tried to the prawns and again they weren’t anything really special. Defintely not bad but not great either. Now apparently these mains come in a lunch menu for the exact same price with a starter and sides but that wasn’t available when we went, and there was no dinner menu either. In conclusion I wouldn’t recommend this place to people, not worth the price and there are better restaurants in Cambridge for around the same or even for cheaper. Had high expectations and was a disappointing visit.
Ivan — Google review
Underwhelmed Expection is going to be high because of the prices. Prices like that are not going to be regular hide out but a place for special occasions for sure. Trying to maximise the experience, we ordered the lunch set with two courses. Quite a surprise that the mussels starter was served in room temperature. While the bread edges were a bit too chewy. While the other starter was just average, nothing special. The mains were nice, but the portions were very small. The staff and the environment were nice., but overall it's too overpriced. Also, I was hungry several hours later......
Pui L — Google review
One of the most exciting menus I have seen in a long time and the actual food was all first-class. Everything is fresh and delicious and you can tell that they are genuinely passionate about good food. Looking forward to going back to sample more of the menu and daily specials. One of the best restaurants I have been to. Thank you.

Popped in for lunch on Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious and the staff amazing. The sea bream with black pudding and beans was very tasty, as was the lentil stew.
George S — Google review
Incredible food and the set lunch menu is a great value at £35 for 3 courses. Loved the monkfish and wild berry soda especially. Definitely deserves it’s spot on the Michelin guide ⭐️
Leif P — Google review
Mixed opinions on foods… prawns and octopus got to be their signature starters but both very average, in fact disappointing considering the price, octopus was quite chewy and prawns were bit flavourless, same with Arroz de mariscos, not right consistency… this is more like wet risotto where it should be more soupy and stronger seafood flavour, few tiny pieces of seafood and charging £36 is an absolute joke, the only good food was Iberico presa, super tender and amazing flavour, although other components such as beans and squash were questionable… Wines are great but both sangrias are definitely not the best you can get in Cambridge… really bad ratio, friendly and quick service but seats might be bit uncomfortable as there’s not much space sometimes… Have no idea how they deserved to be on Michelin guide for few years in a row… extremely overpriced, Tu Casa restaurant on Millroad feels much more authentic with cheaper price and serving real sangria…

Chinese restaurant
Noodles Plus+ is a great local Chinese takeaway and restaurant. They serve home-made noodles, which are a real drawcard, as well as affordable dumplings. The restaurant is small but can seat 16 people. Delivery is also available.
The best dumplings I’ve had! The handmade noodles were also delicious 😋 Be sure to queue just before 12, as there isn’t much space inside so expect a 30+ min wait if you don’t get in first. For such an amazing selection of food, it’s very cheap too!
Taiga K — Google review
Food was delicious but we waited 40 mins to sit, 20 mins for our order to be taken and an other 40 mins for the food. We were there for 2 hours, and only 20 mins of that was spent eating. We ate under the watchful eyes of hungry customers standing by the door, waiting to eat. The food really was not worth all the wait when there are so many delicious, home made authentic food options on mill road with good service. I strongly urge the owners to hire an extra pair of hands to get food out quicker, seat more people and round off the great food with a decent altogether experience. The food is good and beautifully prepared, all done by hand. Good place to go if it’s quiet.
Mimi A — Google review
A super small Chinese restaurant in Cambridge that offers traditional breakfast. Excellent quality and fair prices, but unfortunately, that also means it’s usually very crowded. You should be prepared for a long wait, but it’s definitely worth it! Once you’re inside, plan to take your time as well, since only two people handle everything on their own. I can really recommend the Hundun (馄饨) and pig’s ears (猪耳朵) - both are delicious! Definitely worth a visit!
Veit B — Google review
Went here for a late lunch around 3pm on a Sunday. Waited for about 30mins for a seat, then another 15 minutes for the woman who runs the restaurant to take our order. It was worth it. The dumplings were delicious. The cold spicy spiced beef tendon was mouth watering with a chili oil that paired well with the dumplings. The beef noodles were exceptional in that the noodles were cooked perfectly, with the meat and broth pairing together to all form an incredible dish. The restaurant is cash only. ATM is at the nearby CO-OP.

Best steam buns (and most juicy!) I have ever had!! Don’t think there is a single item in the menu that I wouldn’t order again. Most the time have to queue and wait patiently as all the food is hand made freshly when you ordered, but it’s all worth the wait.

Our favourite restaurant in Cambridge. We visited often when we lived there, and usually tried to arrive just before opening to avoid the long queues. The xiao long baos are a must order. We also loved to get the pan fried dumplings and noodles with minced pork to complete our order for two. The dumplings were consistently crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and the handmade noodles had a delicious springy bite. Always good with a soy milk on the side. A must visit in Cambridge !

Baan Thai Street Food is a relaxed and airy eatery that specializes in serving authentic regional Thai dishes, including soups, curries, and noodle dishes. The menu offers an extensive selection of homestyle snacks and traditional favorites like Kao Pad Rod Fai. The restaurant's ambiance is characterized by large brass cake stands and friendly service. While the portion sizes are smaller compared to other Thai restaurants in the area, the food is described as flavorful without being overly oily or salty.
This is by far my favourite place to eat in Cambridge. The meat and chicken (not beef) is halal but also great for veggie and fish options. The food is always great, it’s consistent and portions sizes are great! The staff are friendly and there is nothing to fault with it. It’s always a top recommendation for any friends or family popping into Cambridge and everyone always thoroughly enjoys it!

Baan Thai Street Food is a lovely and authentic spot in Cambridge. The restaurant has a calm, relaxed atmosphere with fresh air and a cozy setting—perfect for enjoying a peaceful meal. The spicy soup was absolutely amazing—rich in flavor and perfectly balanced with heat. The salad was fresh and delicious as well. A great highlight for anyone who enjoys bold Thai flavors! They also offer a milder, contemporary soup that’s perfect for children or anyone who prefers non-spicy dishes, which is a thoughtful touch. Overall, a great experience with tasty food, a pleasant environment, and thoughtful menu options for everyone. Highly recommended!

The service was friendly, but unfortunately the dish recommended by the waiter wasn’t what I was looking for. The flavor was quite average, and the milk tea was overly sweet and watery – lacking the richness I expected. The overall taste didn’t feel authentic, and it seemed like the kitchen might need more refinement. I hope the restaurant can improve on the accuracy of recommendations and the quality of the food.

Best of all are the jumbo green smoothies. Super fresh and very little ice. Dont miss it.

Healthy food at bright and airy cafe, tucked in a green neighborhood. The men doesn’t say much but rest assured the food tastes good :) Smoked salmon open rye sandwich with “a little bit of salad”— somehow both larger than it looks on the counter XD The bread is nutty and naturally sweet and moist melts in mouth. I don’t usually eat mayo but the horseradish mayo is light. The salmon comes in generous portion and again more than it appears. Love the salad! Never imagined beetroot and carrot go so well together. The toasted hazelnut is so aromatic. And the goat cheese :D My friend says the americano tastes good so I got a flat white. Balanced with some molasses notes. The lady behind the counter is super friendly ^^

Came for a midweek brunch pick me up, and in all honesty I wanted a bit of a nose at the cookery school! The cafe is small but bright and airy, and really peaceful and quiet as it's tucked away at the back of the Homerton campus. A couple of students were studying on laptops, and there was a class going on next door. Really nice atmosphere (but was a little chilly by the door!) My turkish eggs were spectacular, perhaps best that I've had! Perfect balance of tanginess, creaminess, and a bit of heat. They had a gorgeous display of sweets on offer - I was too full to buy one today but I will definitely be popping in to get a treat next time I'm in the Hills Road area. There's no parking on-site but the Cambridge leisure park is a short walk away. Will definitely visit again!

I had a recent visit to Cookery Cafe and was really impressed by the service. The server at the till was incredibly helpful and took the time to clearly explain the menu and illustrate each item we asked about. Making the ordering a much smoother experience. We ordered the sourdough toast and a sandwich made with their homemade focaccia. While I personally didn’t find the focaccia to my taste, one of the staff kindly offered us a complimentary salted chocolate cookie. It was a thoughtful gesture that really turned the experience around and left a positive impression. The coffee was also well-made and enjoyable. Overall, a good visit with standout service and some really nice touches of hospitality.

Aromi is a popular spot known for its delicious Sicilian pizza slices and delectable gelato, which draws long queues on sunny days. Additionally, customers can claim a free gelato with any pasta purchase until Christmas.
Absolutely loved this spot. We stopped in for a casual dinner and ended up having one of the best meals in recent memory. The arancini were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy inside—seriously addictive. We also shared a couple of pizzas, both with beautifully blistered crusts and fresh, flavour-packed toppings. The wine list was well thought out and paired brilliantly with the food. Service was relaxed but attentive. A proper gem—can’t wait to come back.

Small little slice of Italy The Italian dishes they offer are filled to the brim in their take away boxes and get a very good portion for the price you pay. The dishes are very rich and fresh, not mushy or frozen. The staff are very friendly and helpful with our allergies and showed us what dishes were safe to eat for us. The atmosphere is very cosy and refreshing with a small area for seating - no out door seating unfortunately however they do their dishes in takeaway boxes so you could eat it anywhere really. Would highly recommend this place

Italian Pasta The pasta is very generous amount. Everything is made from stretch. Therefore taste much better than pasta from a packet or pasta sauce from a jar. Very rich tasted and firm textured pasta. Behind the bar we could see the production was is strict control. I reckoned it's potion control? The gelato was very generous potion too. So failed to take a photos or the fully filled tub would leak out. Reasonable priced food in large potion. It has a toilet inside the restaurant too. Too bad the restaurant was a bit too small, as the seats are very close to each other. I think it's a good option if you are tired of having fast food or having a tight budget.

It was ok but fairly expensive for what it was. Also be prepared to add on minimum 15% service charge for self service. If I went again I would choose no service charge (I almost always tip at least 10%) because I don’t like feeling pressured to tip. But I wouldn’t return. It was over £10 each for our bowls of pasta with tomato sauce and cheese. I don’t think I would mind if I didn’t feel like I had to tip.

If you like pasta, you may try Aromi. This is a very small place but they offer tasty pasta. My favorite one is carbonara. The chef may add or remove somethings for your selection. Since there are a few tables, you cannot book or reserve a table. You may have difficulties if you are a large group. Good for 2-4. I did not wait since my timing is earlier than usual for the dinner.

Visitors can enjoy the unique decor featuring upside-down hats on the ceiling and an abundance of photos from past events. This charming establishment boasts a relaxed ambiance with seating along the alley for sunny days and live music performances several times each month.
A pub that is worth visiting when coming to Cambridge, because it offers the classic concept of a drinking establishment that is part of British culture. It is located in an urban residential area but the vibe it offers is a unique situation from a typical British drinking place. There is no food for sale, only drinks –whether containing alcohol such as beer, spirits or wine– or non-alcoholic drinks. This pub has had some positive reviews and when I visited it certainly was. A pleasant conversation with the bartender and the atmosphere typical of a British drinking establishment make for an unforgettable impression. The pub also serves a wide range of Belgian beers, beside British local and general ales. Greetings from Indonesia.

What am absolute gem of a pub. Stumbled upon this pub whilst wandering wearily. I came to Cambridge from London for the day, and having had a whole day of walking was looking for a little refreshment before getting the train home. I must admit, I did step in feeling it had a bit of a social club type of feel to it, but my fears were soon dissipated. All of the patrons were cheerful and smiley, Jenny the bartender was friendly and very helpful with suggesting a nice IPA for me. A huge choice of ales here and also a separate menu of Belgian beer if that is your fancy. I will definitely be dropping in here again next time I visit Cambridge. Meanwhile, I shall quietly weep that this is not my local.

🎶🍺 Last week I visited this pub and it turned out to be such a great evening! The place itself has a really cozy, traditional English atmosphere — the kind of spot where you instantly feel comfortable and welcome. But the absolute highlight of the night was the live music. Rupert was singing, and honestly, I was blown away 😍. His voice is incredible, and the way he connects with the audience makes the whole performance even more special. Every song felt full of energy and emotion — it completely lifted the vibe of the room. I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much, but I left with a huge smile on my face. If you love live music in a friendly, authentic pub setting, this is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back for the next performance! 🙌🎤🍻

I was fascinated by this place and I love it. The treatment was amazing, the guy was super nice to us, the people it is super kind, and seems to be like a big family. They have a huge variety of Belgian-style beers starting with delirium and finishing with lambic ones, so if you love Belgian beer this is the place for you. I really recommend you some Christmas beer 🍺, they are amazing 🤩🤩. We will definitely repeat the experience 🥰🤩. They have some events in August so don't miss them!

My first time at The Elm Tree but certainly not the last. My friends and I walked around the center for a bit before going to The Elm Tree; it wasn’t a particularly warm evening and I was feeling rather chill. Was not in the mood for beers and really really wanted something hot to drink. So while my friends were ordering their ales, I asked a bar keeper if they could maybe make me a cup of tea — and what do you think? They kindly prepared one for me even though it was clear it’s not something they usually serve. It was genuinely nice and kind thing to do. In addition to that, I got asked if I would like to have a piece of lemon in my tea after I mentioned I didn’t usually drink my tea with milk. Never got asked something like that in all my time spent in the UK and was both happy and nostalgic since that’s how we drink tea in my home country. It was such a small thing but it meant a lot. I am looking forward to trying the impressive selection of their Belgian ales — and thank you again for your kindness, The Elm Tree!

Nestled in the heart of the community, Norfolk Street Bakery is a delightful independent bakery that has quickly become a local favorite. With its second branch conveniently located on Station Road, it’s the perfect pit stop for travelers looking to indulge in artisan cakes and freshly brewed coffee before hopping on a train. The bakery exudes a cozy atmosphere, where friendly owners greet you with warmth and passion for their craft. At Norfolk Street Bakery, every bite tells a story of quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship.
Could be my favourite bakery in town. Definitely try the Nata. The savoury bakes are amazing too, especially the beef one. The Portuguese doughnut is excellent as well.

This small, Portuguese-influenced bakery has some unusual offerings. Liked the coconut macrons, danish pastries, while the fruited bun was slightly too dry. The Portuguese tarts should be interesting. Updated with savoury vegetarian pastries, also good. Prices a slightly lower than most other bakeries, and service is always friendly.

Lovely little bakery, with so many sweet treats! My tuna melt sandwich was also delicious. Reasonably priced and will definitely return!

Great little bakery. I bought a superb granary loaf. Was relieved that there was none of the usual sourdough this and sourdough that. Lots of interesting savoury pies. We had a delicious prawn rissole. Coffee was just a tad bitter. Check out the interesting Mill Road cemetery a few houses down the road and to the left.

I’ve been coming here for a while now with my girlfriend and dog and I have been so happy everytime. The bread is wonderful and the sandwich and soup meal deal is fantastic. It’s super close to the house and the people working there are super sweet. I can’t buy baked goods from anywhere else without comparing them to this place. I hope they make more dark chocolate pistachio cake soon!

The cakes and other baked goods here are the best in Cambridge. Great service too. When I visited they had a small art exhibition there also which was great. There is also a small deli section where you can find some other jams, honey, specialist tinned goods , oils etc to take home. 5/5.

Stir Bakery, a charming establishment that has been operating for just one year, has become an integral part of the Chesterton community. They have already established partnerships with local businesses like Stem + Glory, Hot Numbers, and Novi. The bakery is adjoined to a café and offers customers a wide array of breads, cakes, and pastries. It's important to note that they occasionally close early when all their products are sold out, so it's advisable to arrive on time.
I decided to leave a review here, considering there is many people these days leaving bomb reviews. I have been coming to this bakery for the last few months and the bread is great, tasty, well made light but consistent. Also to mention a small thing that made it stand to me, for some reason my card wasn't working, so instead of having to leave without bread, staff (Desi I believe) allowed me to come back later to pay, so I could take my bread. A small gesture that speak load about the community centred approach of the business. She is super nice and thus small gesture meant a lot as a costumer!
Isaac M — Google review
Starting with the bakery, the bread is overpriced and, unfortunately, doesn't taste good. It is very rubbery and stale, even of you buy it fresh. Difficult to chew or cut, especially after toasting it. And on top of that, if you cut the pice fir a toast most likely half of the toast will be missing. There is a massive air hole in the bread, so the bread is uneven. If you want one toasties in the morning you will have to use two pieces of bread. Honestly, the £1 bread from tesco in a plastic bag taste so much better without massive air holes in it. Don't recommend the stir Cafe as well. Food, frankly, doesn't worth the money you are spending on it. Why would you serve eggs benedict and avocado toast in a bowl? How am I supposed to cut it? With a spoon? The presentation looks like someone has given up on life and cooking a long time ago, just throw a raw spinach from a height into a ball and call it art. Better to eat at home or go somewhere else for a better food quality.
Yuliia B — Google review
Incredibly inefficient service. On my first visit, they took over an hour to provide food. I came back a few months later and thought I would give them another chance, it took nearly 50 minutes before they served us. The food is okay, but definitely not worth the wait or cost.

Amazing rye sourdough. The wheat sourdough is also great. Very good croissants, pain au chocolates, cinnamon knots, muffins etc. My favourite is the giant cheese & jalapeño pretzel, though.

Klaudia S — Google review
We used to come here all the time for their seeded bread. Recently however the bread we brought home was completely burnt on the bottom. Returning to the bakery two more times since then and all the seeded loaves were clearly burnt even on top. When I brought it up with the person working she looked annoyed with me and just shrugged her shoulders. We also used to get a banana loaf and bring it home. It’s expensive but it was delicious. The last several times we have picked up the banana loaf it was completely stale when we opened it at home. So we had to toast it to even make it edible - not what you expect after paying £16 for a loaf! The croissants are not real croissants (no flakiness!) and the scones are incredibly dry. All in all, a so-so bakery that used to do bread really well, and now it doesn’t 😢

Bar
Six is a chic rooftop restaurant and bar located on the 6th floor of The Varsity Hotel in Cambridge. It offers stunning panoramic views of the city skyline, making it an ideal spot for drinks and rooftop dining. The intimate atmosphere and mouth-watering menu make it a popular choice for couples looking for a romantic evening. Additionally, Six serves afternoon tea with freshly made finger sandwiches, scones, jam, cakes, and teas created by master blenders.
We had booked a table well in advance, and as it was a lovely summer evening, we wanted to sit outside. When we were asked upon our arrival about our seating preference, we indicated that accordingly. Somehow I had expected to be taken to the iconic roof terrace, which I had heard about, but instead we were guided to a table on the balcony (on the lower floor). Not sure whether tables on the roof terrace need to be specifically booked in advance, and I guess I should have asked. Anyway - we did very much enjoy the outside table and the view. Service was ok (though could have been a tad bit more attentive). The food was great! I ordered the Prime Fillet Steak with mashed potato. The meat was cooked to perfection (medium-rare) and very tender, the mash very smooth and creamy. As a side, I had ordered the Broccoli with Chilli and Garlic, though it was not quite as spicy as I had expected. But definitely a great meal with a great view, and I will surely come back next time I'm in Cambridge (then perhaps with a table on the roof terrace?).

Located on the top of the Varsity Hotel, this restaurant has a lovely view of the city and is a really nice place to go for a meal. Service was friendly and food came out relatively fast. We ordered two fish dishes which were both very nice, though it would have been nice if it had come with more on the side (sides have to be ordered separately).
Ana H — Google review
Whilst the food was enjoyable, it didn’t quite live up to the price point. The chips were fairly average and my burger, although fine, felt underwhelming given the cost. The quality just didn’t match the expectations set by the pricing. However, the setting was beautiful. And had a great dessert cocktail! Overall, a lovely visit, but the food fell a little short considering the price.
Charlotte S — Google review
I had the most delightful evening here, the bar was lovely and made far lovelier by the amazing bartender who made me two bespoke drinks which were both completely delicious. The food was equally fabulous as was the service, who catered to my mum’s allergies with a great attention to detail. 10/10 place !!

Perched elegantly above the city, The Six rooftop restaurant at The Varsity Hotel is nothing short of sublime—a jewel in Cambridge’s culinary crown. With sweeping views of the historic skyline and a refined atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between modern chic and old-world charm, this is a dining experience that lingers in memory long after the final bite. Our party indulged in a trio of masterfully prepared dishes: the Moroccan lamb skewer—succulent, aromatic, and grilled to tender perfection; the shrimp couscous—delicate yet bursting with Mediterranean flair; and the chicken curry—a rich, warmly spiced revelation that would give any Michelin-starred menu a run for its money. Dessert, however, was where The Six ascended to gastronomic greatness. The homemade apple crumble was comfort incarnate, but it was the sticky toffee pudding that truly stole the show—lush, decadent, and perfectly balanced. It has instantly entered our Top 5 Puddings of All Time list, and justifiably so. The handcrafted cocktails were bespoke brilliance. The Basil Grande—a fragrant, herbaceous concoction—was positively divine, each sip a celebration. Service throughout was attentive yet unobtrusive, befitting the restaurant’s upscale tone. Even the restroom experience deserves applause: immaculate facilities stocked with Elemis products—a luxe touch that perfectly echoes The Six’s commitment to excellence in every detail. A word to the wise: reservations are essential—this is not the sort of place you stumble upon; it’s a destination. And rightly so. After a serene afternoon punting on the River Cam with Scudamore’s, The Six is the ideal capstone to a fabulous day out in Cambridge. A meal here isn’t just dinner—it’s an occasion. Quite simply, posh perfection.

I came to Restaurant Six for lunch, and I was really impressed! The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing — everything looked so elegant. The table and menu were very clean and neat, which made a great first impression. The view of the city from the restaurant was absolutely stunning. The service was amazing — I was served by a lovely girl named Bina and another one named Maria. They were both so kind, positive, and attentive. As I understood, the manager was also there; he came to check if everything was fine, which I really appreciated.

The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie is a vibrant and stylish restaurant offering an international menu with vegetarian options and a delightful weekend brunch. At Quy Mill Hotel & Spa, they go beyond the traditional afternoon tea, providing options like Gentlemen's Afternoon Tea and Children's Afternoon Tea. The Ivy's afternoon tea features a unique selection of desserts and brioche roll sandwiches, but it's only available from 3-5 pm.
Was an enjoyable experience, the food was great, tasted really good and prices are reasonable. Good choice of cocktails and wine is always nice too. The staff were just as great maybe even better. From the moment we came in to the moment we left, staff were all really friendly and extremely helpful. Even commented how nice my partners dress was. I did note on the booking that it was my partners birthday and at least 5/6 staff members came up to her throughout the night to say happy birthday even the manager, which was really appreciated and made the evening even better. They even presented her with an bday dessert too with a candle which was the cherry on top of a great night. Our server for the night Marvin was an absolute delight, they were incredible and made us feel comfortable and well looked after. Shout out to Marvin, if we can request someone to look after us next time it will be Marvin for sure. Had a smile on the whole time, kept our drinks topped up and even had a great wine recommendation to pair with our dessert All in all was a great evening, will definitely be visiting the next time we are in Cambridge and would recommend to anyone

Been to this particular Ivy on a couple of occasions. If you’ve been to one they are all pretty much the same with regard to food as the menu is consistent. They differ though on consistency and service. The Ivy in Cambridge is very good indeed, the food is always consistently good and the service is impeccable and you are well looked after. On Fridays visit we chose to eat off their Heritage menu which is good value for lunch. All the dishes we had were delicious and our server, Marvin, was also very attentive. Recommended.

The afternoon tea experience was lovely — the service and our waiter were excellent, and everything was beautifully presented. However, there were a bit too many sweet options, and the balance between sweet and savoury could have been better. It was delicious, but quite a sugar overload!

We reserved seats for Valentine’s Day with a set menu. The ambiance is inviting and draws the eyes to many special motifs throughout the place. We had squid appetizer and a plate of their sourdough bread. I’d encourage you to get the bread. My wife and I both exceptionally loved the bread and will go back if only for the bread (the bread is a clear repeat beyond anything else we had). For the entrees, we had salmon and a lobster pasta. Both were good and yet not stunning or set for a repeat. There were very large chunks of lobster in the pasta which was welcome, and the salmon was crisp on the outside with moist-soft texture in the middle, yet the flavors of both entrees were just “ok”. The dessert was fun to witness and quite tasty. The video is of the dessert.

This is a great place. We ordered their popular shepherds pie, steak and chips which I replaced with another side. Food presentation was great. I saw their fish and chips which is impressive. I will definitely try it next time if I am hungry enough.

The Ivy is a staple among visits to unfamiliar cities. The Ivy Cambridge is lovely, with an eye catching decor, consistent experience guarantee, and a generous selection of drinks. We did have a wee wait for our bill once we had finished our drinks and wanted to leave. However, the bartender worked tirelessly making various cocktails, entertaining bar guests and maintaining cleanliness around his section, so this is easily forgiven. As with many Ivy locations, it is well worth going if you fancy a night drink or dining experience
Kian R — Google review
We had a wonderful evening here, the only downside was that we were both slightly disappointed with our mains (our fault, our choice) the Scallops and Squid were both great and the I've chocolate bomb was the star of the show. From the attentive front of house staff to pur waiter it was a lovely meal. Only negative was the ill pouring of good wine at the table, every drop is designed for enjoyment, we dont need to waste it on the cloth. We highly recommend this restaurant and yes we know its a little expensive.

We came here for a 3 year anniversary dinner and everyone was so lovely. We even got a little dessert from The Ivy at no extra cost celebrating the occasion. It was so nice, I loved the artwork. The food was delicious. We had the cheese soufflé, truffle balls, burger and I think a duck curry of some sort (apologies this was 3 months ago!). Then the celebratory bomb with popping candy! Plus the extra treat from the Ivy. It was so yummy, I’m surprised we weren’t carried out we were so full.

What a stunning view of Cambridge from the rooftop bar. My friend who completed the booking thought he'd booked the rooftop bar but accidentally booked a table in Six the restaurant... we were later advised when we arrived that the rooftop bar does not take bookings so don't waste time looking to make one on the website. There's lots of seating/tables although it was fairly busy when we went. Lots of cocktails to choose from. Enjoy!

Sadly, the tablet in the room did not work, which otherwise would have been quite useful. HOWEVER, this slight glitch was more than counterbalanced by the excellent service we got in reception and the Six restaurant at breakfast. We had arrived early, but reception looked after out luggage and until it was time to check in. Their valet parking was quick and efficient. Breakfast was tasty and filling, with attentive and efficient service. The location is stunning, crowned by the views form the rooftop bar (bring a hat and sunglasses if its sunny though!).

It’s a central and nice hotel, offering comfy rooms, together with a lot of facilities including gym, spa! The rooms are clean and some of them look onto the street which is great. It’s located in a very nice spot, where you can walk the city. You can do punting by the river just 5 mins again. The hotel is clean, rooms are amazing, the rooftop restaurant & bar is amazing and the staff is so nice. There is a nice view on the rooftop restaurant. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would definitely recommend The Varsity Hotel to anyone visiting Cambridge!

Great location - but the Six restaurant is quite disappointing especially factoring in the prices. Our party had 2 duck, both were luke warm, side order chips were also cold. Pizzas were OK but no different than Wetherspoons - side order broccoli was very damp, likely cooked from frozen although I can’t be sure. 12.5% service charge is also added - makes for an expensive and underwhelming experience. Would recommend for just drinks on the roof top terrance but you can get better quality, much cheaper food elsewhere.

Little Cafe There was no heating service in the cafe, it means that everything would be just room temperature. The staff said the savoury pastries were just freshly baked, unfortunately the one we had was just room temperature. At least the pastry was genuinely good, it was full of fillings inside. The coffee was nice. The cafe was smaller than I thought, but at least there was a toilet available, unlike most of the cafes in Bury St Edmunds. The cafe and the toilet was clean. I will return to try the ice cream when the weather is warmer.

Lovely venue, but the pricing is just crazy and way over RRP. Cambridge Juice Co - £5.99 (its £2.50 on their own site) Pizzas - £11 (£8 everywhere else) And charged £4 for a chicory in error, only realised this after walking away and thinking £30 for a pizza, crisps and salad was a touch punchy. People love your shop, but don't take advantage of them to the point they won't return.
