Ice cream shop
Jack's Gelato is a popular spot in Cambridge known for its wide variety of housemade gelato flavors. Founded by Jack van Praag, who gained experience working in top-end kitchens around the world, the shop offers intriguing flavor combinations such as salted treacle, malted milk, cardamom and rose, Alphonso mango with chili and salt sorbet, and Earl Grey and plum sorbet.
Wow!! This gelato shop is the best I’ve ever tried! As I approached, I saw lots of people enjoying their gelato, either walking by or sitting nearby. The line was long, but thankfully, the wait wasn’t too long. They offer a wide variety of flavors that change weekly. After some difficult choices, I picked Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt and Coconut Ube, opting for a chocolate dipped cone. The gelato was incredibly smooth, and the cone was nice and crispy. If I return to Cambridge, I will definitely come back to try more flavors! Oh, and they have a mini print vending machine in the shop! I got a cute print, which was a lovely bonus! 😍

Dense Ice Cream The shop is always busy. They frequently change their menu, that helps to attract returning customers. The flavours of this time were a bit too sweet for my liking. No matter how many times they change the menu, their ice cream always has very dense texture. It's a very popular shop. Be prepared to queue or scanning their QR code for faster service. Also, the road outside the shop is very busy and narrow. Watch out for the cars and bicycles!
Pui L — Google review
My son has allergies, so it’s always tricky to find gelato or ice cream he can safely enjoy. Often he ends up feeling upset because there’s nothing suitable for him — only parents of children with allergies will truly understand that frustration. Thankfully, Jack’s Gelato was incredibly kind and accommodating. Even though it was busy, the staff didn’t rush us or make us feel like a burden. They were so patient, understanding, and genuinely went above and beyond for my little boy. We were deeply grateful. And the gelato was delicious — rich, gooey, and thick, just the way I love it. If it hadn’t been so tasty, I wouldn’t even be writing this review! It’s already a popular place, but I still want to say — I would highly recommend Jack’s Gelato. Thank you again to the lovely staff for your kindness and care🩷
Yooji W — Google review
There was this really long queue stretching even outside the store's entrance. However, I love the quick collection service for people who know what they want and can get fast-tracked, prioritised service - condition is you have to know what you want, can't have free samples and pay online using the QR code. I did just that, and worth it. I got the coconut and ube vegan gelato, and another one of dark chocolate with sea salt (also vegan). Loved them both. Definitely a great dessert treat for those visiting Cambridge.
Yuvraj H — Google review
Definitely an amazing experience but as long as you don't mind a bit of a wait..if you do, go on their website and pick the flavours you want as they have a queue jump window. You can mix and match with some unique and amazing flavours, but also follow their Instagram to find out the unique secret flavour per day. Very delicious
Mike R — Google review
A small place with tasty gelato! It’s not the best I have ever had, but definitely good and worth trying when visiting Cambridge. The options are a bit limited, but it’s a nice spot for a quick treat, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
Mahsa S — Google review
🍦Cambridge's internet-famous ice cream ~ The flavors change every day ~ because the menu is frequently updated. The queue looked very long, and in a flash, it was lined up 🍦The young ladies are sweeter than ice cream ~ They offered many flavors for tasting, and in the end, I chose the mini Double Ball (dark chocolate sea salt + blackcurrant macas cake)~ 🍦No matter how strong the wind is, I still want sweet ice cream ~
Xiaoling X — Google review
Sometimes the queue could be long but it normally moves quite quickly. They also have an online ordering website where you could "skip the line". It's certainly one of the best gelatos I have ever had! They have different flavours everyday so make sure you check on their Instagram / website before you go! They also have Durian flavour available in sealed cups available in store - unfortunately could not be ordered through the "skip the line" website)

Creperie

The crêperie Crepeaffaire is a popular spot for sweet pancakes, with a huge variety of options to choose from. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly, making it a great place to go for lunch. However, I didn't appreciate having to order through an APP which did not work and then have to wait for my food.
Excellent service, they really went above and beyond! The atmosphere feels cozy and warm, and the crepes are absolutely lush. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone and everyone- the options are also amazing!!
Aicel D — Google review
I come here almost every week because the crêpes are just that good both the savoury and sweet ones are always perfect. The quality is consistent every single time, and the atmosphere makes it even better. If I could, I’d honestly eat here every day. Highly recommended!
David K — Google review
I always visit this place when I go to Cambridge. It’s very cozy and they offer a great selection of both savoury and sweet crepes and waffles. Any crepe they make, they can make it gluten free which is a big plus. The staff here are great, especially the portuguese speaking young ladies. It’s a lovely place.
Diogo L — Google review
This place looked like a perfect spot for a rest after walking around Cambridge city centre, and if you’re after just a coffee or similar then perhaps it is. However, the place is named for crepes, so I ordered the Eggs Royale version, and how disappointed I was. First, it arrived like it didn’t know what it was. The salmon was just sitting on top of the crepe and there was no sign of the eggs. After unraveling the batter, I came across sprinklings of scrambled egg stuck in the batter but there was barely enough to guess that there was one egg in there, let alone the “eggs” (plural) we were promised. Furthermore, the crepe was undercooked. In the attached photo you can see uncooked batter, to which the meagre amount of egg was stuck to. It was so bad I barely ate it at all. Very disappointing overall and I’ll be staying away from this franchise.

AJ and Lola have made our days bringing us wonderful and yummy crepes after our long day punting and walking around Cambridge! Especially love the names of their sweet crepes and we can’t help ordering “I’ll have what she’s having” twice! lol

A great little gem that i just discovered. My daughter had the whole shebang, vegan and gluten free. I had a create your own. Strawberries and pistachio sauce. One of the nicest crepes I've had with the friendliest staff. A great experience.

Creperie
Takeout Restaurant
Cambridge Crepes, located at 12 Sidney St, Cambridge CB2 3HG, United Kingdom, is a family-run restaurant known for its traditional French crepes and galettes. The owners have been trained by French chefs to ensure top-quality food. Customers appreciate the friendly service and wide variety of crepes with customizable toppings. While not your traditional plated crepe, these are rolled up for on-the-go enjoyment.
I was really excited to see they had vegan options for both savoury and sweet crepes so absolutely had to try it out! They were written on a small separate board so didn't see it at first but I'm super happy I noticed cause it was so worth it. I wasn't sure which of the savoury options to go for but the staff kindly helped me decide. It was very yummy; the crepe itself seemed to be made of a buckwheat perhaps? Which gave it a really nice flavour, the fillings weren't cooked which was unusual but it still totally worked and I thoroughly enjoyed it id definitely try the others if I am in Cambridge again and have the chance.
Jubbi R — Google review
Had a buckwheat savoury absolutely delicious crepes with chicken and cheese (no allergies just preference) plus a normal savoury strawberry and banana! Wonderful service and will be back! All freshly made!
Kimberley C — Google review
The owner was so lovely and friendly and took time to show us the gluten free utensils and work area and assured us the crepes are safe for coeliacs. And the actual crepes! WOW!!! Unbelievable. It is the best crepe I’ve ever had! Even the coffee was delicious. Definitely worth a visit; we’re be back for sure. 🙂 My son and I had a gluten free crepe and my husband had a standard crepe. There is fantastic choice of fillings too. Thanks so much. 👏👏👏👏

Great place. Gluten free crepes available made with buckwheat. Very friendly staff and lots of great options. Seating available too. Well done.

Customer service is 10/10. Crepes are decent. However, do not order here if you’re in a rush.
Blanka H — Google review
I wish I could give Cambridge Crepes more than five stars! We never visit Cambridge without stopping by, it’s an absolute must! The crepes are always fresh, delicious, and generously filled, with a fantastic range of sweet and savoury options to choose from. The coffee? Absolutely top-notch — proper coffee, every time. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the wonderful team. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always serve with a smile. It’s genuinely a pleasure to visit. Thank you, Cambridge Crepes — see you again very soon!

Great experience at Cambridge Crepes!!! Fantastic communication with the staff. I believe he was the owner of the shop. He was very nice, polite and friendly. Great customer service minded. Overall great experience from the point of ordering to receiving the food. I really enjoyed my first savoury crepes from here. Yummy indeed 😋 I highly recommend it to everyone- I myself will go back to try sweet crepes really soon 😊 Any recommendations???

Brasserie
British restaurant
Browns Cambridge is a classic British brasserie and bar offering a grand cafe setting. Established in 1973, this chain boasts a menu featuring both classic and seasonal dishes, as well as signature cocktails. Many of its locations are situated in unique landmark buildings with historic or national significance. The restaurant offers a gluten-free menu with high-quality seasonal dishes made from fresh ingredients. Browns also hosts lobster nights and afternoon tea events.
Food was very good and reasonably priced. Atmosphere was beautiful and bar menu was generous. Could have used more service staff but the staff there was great.
Charlie F — Google review
The restaurant looks amazing both inside and out, but unfortunately the service and cleanliness really let it down. We were seated at a table where all the water glasses were extremely dirty, which was disappointing. A member of staff was walking around with a sweeper in hand without any clear purpose, she could have been more helpful by bringing our drinks, which took 15 minutes to arrive (and the place wasn’t even busy). On the positive side, the food itself was excellent, although the lobster portion was far too small for the price. Sadly, the service didn’t match the quality of the food. Our waiter’s exaggerated, casual manner of speaking (“Heeellooo, what can I get youuuu”) felt unprofessional and insincere, making the experience uncomfortable. Reminded me of American teenager in movies Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the service and atmosphere didn’t justify the high prices. Either the service needs to improve by about 15%, or the prices should come down by 15% to reflect the reality.
Michael — Google review
A lovely lunch to celebrate my 60th birthday. Marco the host of was amazing as was Amy our server. The free glass of Prosecco and birthday treat at the end was much appreciated
John D — Google review
Came here late SEP2025. The ambiance and atmosphere is special and inviting. Live piano music was a very welcome addition to dinner. There was a 3-course special menu that we chose to use. My wife got a passion fruit and mango drink that was adequate. The appetizers were parsnip soup and a beetroot tartare. The beetroot was quite lovely and the soup was creamy, yet not much flavor (me wanting a stronger parsnip or other various flavors). Our entrees were butternut squash risotto and a seabass. The seabass was lovely and exceptionally tasty. The risotto barely had the slightest flavor of butternut squash and thus left a bit to be desired. The dessert was chocolate mousse and an ice cream with a specialty flavor I cannot remember. Both were decent. I’d go back to Browns for the ambiance and service (stellar). I’d probably just get tea or coffee or the Sunday roast.

Fab U Lous. Darling! Savannah was very professional and kind, unrushed. friendly - definitely recommend Browns of Cambridge. Give Savannah a pay rise. Good luck for the future xxx Wendy and Dawn bottomless brunch birthday treat for my sister :-) we will be back soon xx

The food was exceptional quality. The fish and chips included an entire fried fish that was super fresh. The vegan dish of butter squash risotto was also delicious and fresh. The atmosphere and music were very pleasant and not too loud. Best place for visitors coming to Cambridge.

Gorgeous restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere (live piano etc), great food and outstanding service (by Abbie). Highly recommend. Sunday roast was delicious.

Yesterday we visited Brown’s Cambridge for the very first time, and it was a truly wonderful experience. I am a regular customer at Brown’s in Bluewater, London, so I was curious to see how this location compared and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and professional. The team made us feel welcome straight away. The restaurant itself is stunning: the décor is elegant and stylish, with a relaxing atmosphere that feels both refined and inviting. Every detail, from the lighting to the table setting, creates a perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The highlight of our lunch was without a doubt the dessert. Both the crème brûlée and the tiramisu were simply outstanding, creamy, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. With the tiramisu, I felt like I was instantly transported back to Italy with just one bite 🤭. It was the perfect ending to a lovely meal. A very special thank you goes to our waitress, Momoka (I believe that was her name). She was truly a ray of sunshine. Her warm personality, kindness, and genuine care made our experience unforgettable. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and her smile made all the difference. ✨ Exceptional service, a beautiful and elegant setting, and food that delights the senses. Brown’s Cambridge has it all. Thank you to the entire team for making our first visit so memorable. I will definitely be returning! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tea house
Fitzbillies is a classic bakery and cafe in Cambridge, known for its traditional pastries and artisan coffee. It's a popular spot for East Anglian fare, offering delicious Chelsea Buns that come highly recommended by locals and even Stephen Fry. The cafe specializes in Traditional Afternoon Tea, making all the bread for finger sandwiches, sultana scones, and mini cakes in their own artisan bakery.
We had the original Chelsea bun, and it met expectations. It was warm, fresh and had lots of small raisins in it. Service was quick, and the lady at the counter was the sweetest. Also not too pricey considering the touristy location, and the cafe’s popularity.
Akhil S — Google review
Nice - pretty typical modern day cafe come cake shop. And while the Chelsea buns may have the same recipe, the way the sugar coating is done nowadays is just not what it was. Fairly average coffee too by modern day standards. Still 4 stars though because I am a picky so and so and you may well find coffee and buns are splendid!
Adam R — Google review
A charming and bustling bakery in Cambridge, best known for its famous Chelsea buns. I ordered a sultana raisin scone served with jam and clotted cream, along with a cup of coffee. The scone was beautifully crisp on the outside, while the cream was rich and indulgent — absolutely delicious. I shared a few Chelsea buns with my friends, and they were every bit as good as their reputation. Although the café was busy, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were served. The lively atmosphere made it the perfect place to enjoy good conversation over excellent pastries. A must-visit spot when in Cambridge.
Tomoe M — Google review
We visited Fitzbillies on a busy Sunday afternoon — it was packed (as expected!) but we managed to get a table without too much waiting. The ordering system is done through your phone, which was convenient overall, though one of the hot drinks was a bit tricky to find on the menu. Of course, we had to try the famous Chelsea bun, and it didn’t disappoint — beautifully sticky, sweet, and rich. They even provided extra golden syrup to pour on top, which was a nice touch. The cappuccino looked great and was well presented, though it could’ve had a bit more depth of flavour. We also had a savoury snack of whipped feta and chickpeas, this was nice but 4 crackers was not enough. The staff were friendly and attentive, even with how busy it was. Overall, a good experience and definitely worth a visit if you’re in Cambridge — especially for the Chelsea bun!
Alamin A — Google review
The cinnamon bun at Fitzbillies is absolutely divine—soft, rich, and bursting with flavor. The café has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the display of fresh pastries is irresistible. A must-visit spot for anyone who loves classic, indulgent baked goods!
Mohammed A — Google review
Came here to check out the iconic Chelsea buns. They were great and lived up to its expectations. Others may find it too sweet for them, but I think it’s a matter of preference and I can appreciate it! We then saw they did afternoon tea, so we tried it: Sandwiches were poor and lacked flavour. Scones were huge (easy split 1 between the 3 of us), and the jam was great. Red velvet cake was amazing. Others were average. Service was really friendly but completely disorganised. Asked for water but never came (mistakes happen, so it’s ok). But while a male waiter was bringing in loads of fresh cutlery, he kept lobbing it in their containers and was constantly making ridiculous amounts of noise. No music was playing and generally the cafe was extremely noisy, given that it wasn’t very busy. Atmosphere was nonexistent. I recommend purchasing your Chelsea buns (as they are worth it) from the bakery beside to takeaway and avoid the cafe. You are not missing much. Value is also on the high side for the quality.
Jeremy O — Google review
After reading many articles mentioning the Chelsea bun is a must have in Cambridge, I was determined to try it before leaving town. I bought some as take away. When I took a bite into the bun moments later, I was utterly disappointed. It was dry and nothing extraordinary. I am not sure what all the hype is about. It was way below my expectations. Only saving grace was the friendly staff I encountered.
J K — Google review
We honestly do not understand how this chain can be so busy, since their flagship pastry is a bun with disappointing hints of whatever flavour they promise. We would not be trying this again. It might be catering for the English palette. The interior design is as dull as they come. The only positive is the generally friendly staff.

Bistro
Galleria is a contemporary, split-level restaurant located at the foot of Magdalene Bridge, offering international fusion cuisine with fantastic views across the colleges and the river. The family-run eatery prides itself on blending classic dishes with a modern twist, such as their popular pan-fried sea bass. With reasonable prices for its prime location, Galleria is a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
Can't rate this place high enough. Definitely underrated gem in Cambridge. Staff service was excellent. They were speedy with the food, and the quality of each dish could give the best places in town a run for their money. We had the roast lamb shank, duck, and seabass for mains and each one was tol good. One of the best dining experiences in Cambridge, really pleased we came here.
Rianna — Google review
Riverside I think it's similar to Mercado nearby. You know, relative expensive. But Galleria has a more beautiful view than Mercado. The starters were better than Mercado. But the main was very average relatively to the prices. Clean restaurant and toilet. Good staff services. With a beautiful riverside view. Unfortunately the food was very average, with a very small portions. I was still hungry after the starter and the main course......
Pui L — Google review
This place has a lot of potential due to its prime location by the river, but unfortunately, the food doesn’t quite live up to it. My wife and I decided to try it for lunch, as we had never been before. We ordered the tagliatelle pasta and grilled chicken for our mains. Unfortunately, the chicken was burnt and dry, and the pasta was quite underwhelming, especially considering the price. The interior also feels outdated and lacks the warmth or style you’d expect—particularly when compared to the neighboring restaurants, which are much more inviting. It feels like the owners haven’t updated the concept in years. A rebrand and a refreshed menu could go a long way in making this place competitive again. We were surprised to find it nearly empty during peak lunch hours, but after our visit, it’s easy to understand why.
Emrah E — Google review
Just had a wonderful meal here tonight. The food and the service were both outstanding. We mentioned that is was our wedding anniversary. When dessert arrived, it had a "Happy Anniversary" message and candle on top. A nice little touch. Would definitely return.
Sue S — Google review
Came here for Valentine’s Day. We both really loved our starters (I had beef fillet and he had oyster) and the oyster was presented beautifully (see image). I wasn’t that keen on my main, but that is because I am a fussy eater, not because they made the food poorly. However, although I appreciate they had a set menu for valentine’s, if there had been a tiny bit more selection, then that would have made a huge difference. I also really liked the ice cream and my boyfriend liked his panna cotta. Atmosphere was nice, but it wasn’t quite the vibe I got from the pictures here and the red balloons as valentine decorations felt a bit tacky. At the end the waitress gave me a rose. Bit sexist but we laughed it off with a joke about my boyfriend not getting my one. The waitress then said he gets the unhappy bit and passed him the bill. Once she left we swapped so I could pay. I’m not sure if the restaurant just thinks that men always pay for dates or if they were judging us on our appearance and assuming that we were the kind of couple where the guy would pay, but that irked me a lot more than the rose. Overall, good food quality but areas that can be improved elsewhere
Rowanna S — Google review
My husband and I went to Galleria for diner to celebrate some good news. We had a table on the terrace overlooking the river cam. We loved the vibe, with real candles and blankets which we didn’t need. The staff (Rose, sorry we didn’t know the gentleman’s name) were very friendly , welcoming and attentive. The food was superb. I had the mushroom tagliatelle and my husband had the chicken supreme. The mango cheese cake was out of this world!!! We were also very impressed by the standard of cleanliness which is very important to us. Thank you Galleria for a magical evening.

Tea house
Harriets Cafe Tearooms in Cambridge offers a charming, old-fashioned ambiance with the added bonus of live piano music and outdoor seating during the summer. It's renowned for its wide selection of teas, sandwiches, and cakes, making it an ideal spot for afternoon tea. The cafe also caters to dietary preferences with a substantial gluten-free menu and dairy-free options. Visitors can expect excellent service from friendly staff while enjoying traditional British fare like scones and English breakfast grill.
Lovely place for a tea lover, staff are very professional in my view, felt a bit posh but still a nice place nobody said anything negative to me. I had lemon verbana tea and traditional English breakfast grill which was nice and you get a choice of how you want eggs cooked.
Nathan — Google review
It’s a cute, small cafe but the quality of the Afternoon Tea is just average and quite pricey. The cheapest ‘Traditional Afternoon Tea’ is £17.50 and comes with the home brand tea, cakes, ham and egg sandwiches, and two small scones per person. While the scones are fresh and taste good, the cake was too sweet, none of us four could eat it. Overall not a good value for money.
Antonia M — Google review
It's always busy for weekend brunch. The atmosphere was nice and homy but the food was quite disappointing. The poached eggs in the vegetarian breakfast grill had wrinkled and rubbery egg whites. The avocado spread was clumsily meshed. Tea and coffee are fine but nothing special with the desserts either. Given the average quality of the food and a relatively slow service, it's definitely overpriced.
Janny — Google review
Won't return again, a tourist trap. Quite possibly the worst breakfast I have had. The coffee (which costs £4) lacks flavour, possibly because they don't use freshly grinded beans. I asked the eggs to be sunny side up and it came back completely cooked through. How can anyone mess up eggs? Especially in a "premium" restaurant. I thought it could be me but my friend's poached egg was also overcooked. Premium setting, premium pricing, appalling quality.
Hoi L — Google review
The shop was full of people, but we got decently fast service. The tee was nice, and the scone was decent. Everything was decent to try and experience the british things. The price was not that high, so I definitely recommend here. The staffs are nice enough to answer my questions.
Isaac L — Google review
Perfect spot for a lovely coffee for two. We tried their almond and Victoria sponge cake and they were both delicious. The staff was friendly and love the piano playing in the background!
Z R — Google review
An interesting visit, sadly never to be repeated. Although the staff we spoke to were all very friendly we we given two very dirty forks, we were served lose-leaf tea in pots but no strainer between us, there was no milk provided, no tea spoons, and the cake was average. 15min wait to be seated despite 8 places sitting unoccupied. For tourists this is undoubtedly a tragic experience, let's get some famous English Tea they said.

We had a special afternoon tea here, 1 gluten free and 1 normal. Both were absolutely lovely! Lovely place, great staff!

Visit with family for afternoon tea. It wasn't very busy so we were seated and served very quickly. Sandwiches were good, scones good but by the time the cakes were up, I was pretty full. Service was excellent and attentive and they had no issues providing me with alternative drink.
Charlie J — Google review
We spent £40 on an afternoon tea for two and had to wait an hour until it arrived as they were understaffed. The portion sizes were very small, and the cakes looked unappetising and tasted equally bad. In general I’m someone who is easy to please and I don’t like complain, but after having spent £40 on this I feel obliged to warn others not to make the same mistake I did. The staff were very nice, but the food just was not good, took a very long time to arrive and the place itself felt grubby.
Hugo R — Google review
Ordered a themed cake from the website for delivery, unfortunately the cake arrived with every single “decoration” entirely broken - however the remains not in the box, meaning they were put on to the cake and sent out like that with no quality control. The reason for the order entirely being the decoration for a themed party I politely requested a refund and offered to send the cake back as it would not be used and I had to quickly source an alternative, This was ignored by the customer service team and I was instead issued a £10 voucher, which won’t be used as I won’t be ordering from them again.
Mollie D — Google review
Took my partner here for afternoon tea for her birthday. It was not too bad. Nothing that special really. Food was not too bad. Only liked 1 out of the 3 sandwiches. Still have no idea what was in 1. Could definitely do a better range. Scones was the best part. Overall it was good. Abit pricey for what you get really.
Peter F — Google review
I cannot rate the service, I ordered a cake for delivery for my husband's birthday. The black forest gateau was absolutely divine. It was delivered In dry ice and well packed with no issues. The only major issue is that at the till online, I saw balloons (it was a very last minute impulse click to add them to the basket) and out of a box of 5 balloons, we managed to inflate 2, the other 3 just broke apart in our hands. They are clearly either very old or not stored properly. We didn't even bother opening the other boxes (we bought 3 boxes of5 ). I learned my lesson to only stick to cakes from this place
Dorota D — Google review
The croissants here are so flaky and delicious and very buttery, they tasted fresh as the where freshly made that morning, i highly recommend coming here for something savoury or something sweet it caters to all tastes! The staff are incredibly friendly and there was no queue when entering. I highly recommend this little bakery when you’re next in Cambridge.

Had the best Afternoon Tea, we decided to make a day of it and come up to Cambridge. The quality of the food was fantastic, freshly made sandwiches, scones and cakes - absolutely faultless! Drinks were included too and were lovely, this made the experience a really joyful one. Staff were excellent, always very helpful and the service was efficient. Would definitely recommend, we had such a lovely day!

Wonderful experience: Got taken here as a birthday surprise by my friends. To my delight the staff were aware it was my birthday, and greeted me with a birthday song and a plate full of goodies. There was a good variety of everything from sandwiches to cakes. Tea, coffee or soft drinks are available in a good variety. There was nothing that was too much trouble for the staff. Would recommend this place to anyone who would love a difference in a treat. Thank you all lovely staff - and of course my two lovely friends!

Brunch restaurant
Nestled on Chesterton Road, Stir is a charming neighborhood café that has quickly become a beloved spot for locals in the Chesterton area. With its inviting atmosphere and bright decor, it’s the perfect place to unwind with a cup of coffee or indulge in delicious treats from their adjacent bakery. The menu boasts delightful options like coconut porridge and brioche bostock for breakfast, alongside hearty brunch favorites such as halloumi schrooms and the weekend special stir shakshuka.
Exquisite brunch! A perfect place for brunch with high quality produce and beautifully prepared food. The place is always busy, and I can see why. The 'Big Brunch' was especially great. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the avocado was fresh, halloumi grilled just the right amount, perfectly toasted sourdough, and the additional smoky beans very tasty. The chilli jam was a perfect complement. The warm banana bread was delicious, and the caramelised fresh banana on top was a perfect addition. The flat white was well made. One of the best (if not the best) brunch places in Cambridge! .
Johann G — Google review
Really nice food and the coffee was great. It was very busy so be warned you might have to wait a few for a table but we got a seat at the bar which was perfect! More on the pricey side but worth it as it’s hard to find a good breakfast spot like this!
Suzanne C — Google review
Lovely spot for coffee, brunch, or a sweet treat. Stopped by for brunch with a friend and we tried both the Turkish Eggs and the Vegetarian Focaccia - both hit the spot and were surprisingly filling! There’s also a great selection of bakery items if you’re just after something lighter with your coffee. Service was warm and friendly. Prices are admittedly on the higher side, but seem in line with most other comparable brunch spots in Cambridge. The cosy atmosphere inside and pleasant outdoor seating (weather permitting) also make it well worth a visit!
Firnaaz M — Google review
A bit disappointed that the Winter Hash did not come with salsa verde or crispy kale that the menu suggested. If items were switched out, customers should be informed. It was just a plate of roasted root vegetables with no sauce? I ended up just adding salt and pepper but only ate a few bites and the egg. I also order the Winter Bowl instead of the hash but I think there was a mix up.
Amy Z — Google review
What a hidden gem! The coffee was really good for those who are coffee connoisseurs. The pastries was delicious and though I didn't try the food it looked very nice I'm sad I only found here on my last day in Cambridge! It was very busy around brunch time but I guess thats because of how popular it is. The place is professional and has a very nice vibe. Definitely worth going and trying.

I loved this place because of the atmosphere, it was so family-friendly, especially for children, but they changed the waiters and the service became terrible. I've never been treated so badly by a waitress in a place. I just wanted to spend some time out with a friend and in the end I really felt bad about it.

Nestled on Hills Road, The Cambridge Oven has been delighting locals since its opening in 2018. Founded by Jolita, a talented baker from Lithuania who honed her skills at The School of Artisan Food, this charming bakery offers a unique twist on traditional baking. With an impressive array of breads and pastries crafted using the finest ingredients and long-fermentation techniques, each creation is not only delicious but also easier to digest.
Oh my my the lemon blueberry cruffin was to die for!! What a gorgeous pastry. I only wish I had gotten a second, hah. It was the perfect size for one (I wouldn’t recommend sharing). The croissant was flaky and crisp and the outside sugar coating was more pleasant than I expected. The lemon curd was perfectly sweet and tart and the bites of blueberry filling inside were just scrumptious. They mentioned they couldn’t warm it but honestly it’s was better as is. 12/10 would get again. The pistachio passion fruit cruffin also sounded good and honestly everything in the shop looked lovely. Can’t wait to be back in Cambridge to try more.

Delicious stuff. Highly highly recommend the caramelised banana Danish. We don't get enough banana based pastries and desserts in the UK and it's a shame. This one is worth trying. Also had the Crumble plum Danish and it was very good. Pastry is perfectly flakey and buttery with a nice crunch.

I have absolutely no complaints about this bakery. The pastries and drinks are lovely, and the owners and baristas are super friendly ☺️. Although small, it creates a cozy atmosphere - and a very good study spot! I would definitely recommend foreigners to visit this bakery at least once if you ever find yourself in Cambridge.

I have been coming to Cambridge Oven for the last few weeks now and I've always been welcomed with smiling faces. Coffee is delicious each time and price for it is lower than other places I've been to. Pastries are delicious and the smell of them is delightful. Overall atmosphere is great and cosy. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.

Ham and Cheese Croissant is the best! Runny cheese filling with a crispy cheese topping. It's the best savoury croissant I have had in Cambridge. Absolutely tasty. Have tried other items in the bakery already, but always come back for this ham and cheese croissant. It's so popular that often sold out very early. Had to get up really early if you want to have one. Hope that Cambridge Oven will produce more of it.

The inviting atmosphere extends outdoors for dog lovers who wish to enjoy their treats with furry companions by their side.
What an absolute surprise to go here today and discover the pop up of @thewildhaggis a new initiative of a traditional Scottish breakfast, gone was the idea of delicious pastries but instead we went for the half, full breakfast (normally wouldn’t dream of having haggis and black pudding) but what can I say, utterly delicious, flavoursome, filling and a change from an English breakfast. I would highly recommend making your way to Eddington to enjoy this plate of goodness. They do all sorts of Scottish buns and pies but this breakfast was incredible. A definite add to a great eatery in Cambridge. Totally recommended. 💛

Definitely recommend! I wish we could eat breakfast here every day. All the pastries are wonderful both savoury and sweet! The orange and almond cookie was also wonderful. What a treat the square sausage bap is! Prices on the higher side but that’s life now and I guess the challenge is not to be tempted by everything on show. Good coffee! Clean facilities. Appeared to get very busy.
Hannah — Google review
Lovely place, with a nice atmosphere. Some of the food seemed a bit pricey but they offer good quality products, including the hot chocolate! They had handcraft icecream and sorbets!
JR S — Google review
We stopped in here to get some cinnamon buns for breakfast. We told the waitress that we had a daughter with a nut allergy and asked if the food was suitable. She said yes. No worries. My daughter had an allergic reaction to the bun immediately upon eating a bite. When we went back to tell the waitress she said 'oh, I thought you were telling me that you didn't have an allergy ' As if anyone would say that!! The staff need better training. Thankfully this reaction was not life threatening, but they need to take this seriously. All staff should be trained properly.
Clare E — Google review
We absolutely love this bakery, it’s the best in Cambridge, it’s a little further outside of the centre, but it’s well worth the visit. The selection of pastries changes daily, the breads are so fluffy and flavoursome, well made coffee, three types of hot chocolate -all made with REAL chocolate!! What more could you ask for? This place is a hidden gem, make sure you go early as things sell out fast! We love how you can get a regular great pastry like a croissant but then you can also get something you’ve never tried before, they do little fancy desserts, home made chocolates and the best macaroons outside of France ! Staff are friendly and everything is reasonably price! Only wish they would extend into one of the other surrounding units and do all day food, I know that would be just as good! Currently only outside seating available. My photos are from the past few months and recent weekends
Olivia K — Google review
Really nice pastry. Ordered the fruit and frangipane and the custard and fruit. Very nice and crispy and fresh. Had to get a mint and chocolate macaroon too. It was tasty. Most of the pastries were gone by 3pm, so not much choice left. I went earlier and they were busy in the morning. Ordered the cinnamon bun which was a bit dense and a white hot chocolate - it was too sweet. The Hokkaido milk bread was soft but it was for western palette rather than authentic Japanese milk bread.
J L — Google review
Dulcedo is a great patisserie! They have all sorts of products; from different types of amazing bread to delicious pastries and sandwiches made with loads of care. I don't drink coffee, so I always have a matcha latte that is delicious! Lately they have started making their own chocolates and chocolate bars, that look very nice!! (See photos attached)
Mariona P — Google review
Very nice patisseries and viennoiseries (and I'm French, so high standards haha)! Everything is super tasty! Hot drinks are only okay though... (matcha tastes very diluted, coffee is very meh so maybe not pure arabica and also maybe too roasted and not the best quality of milk 😕) Which is a shame because there is a very big chance you will get one with the kind of food sold there... It is often very busy so be prepared to queue. Staff is friendly!

Dulcis Gelato & Pasticcini offers a unique gelato experience with flavors like ricotta and pistachio chocolate that surprise the taste buds. The gelato has a smooth, milky texture and is not overly sweet, making it a delightful treat. Pairing it with an espresso DIY affogato creates a perfect combination. In addition to gelato, the Italian pastries at Dulcis are described as amazing and flavorful, making them irresistible bite-size indulgences.
Absolutely love DULCIS! It’s a wonderful family-run business by Alessandro and Maurizio, and they truly bring a special touch to everything they do. Their coffee is amazing, but the real stars are the pasticcinis (my favourite!!!), fresh cakes 🤤 and the cinnamon biscotti—an absolute must-try. Alessandro was incredibly helpful in creating custom biscuits for an event, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. Great people, great service, and incredible products. Highly recommend!

Nice little gelato shop. The texture of the Gelato was more like ice cream however the flavours were good. If you’re around and looking for some ice cream, definitely pay a visit. The portion size was good and price was not too bad. You’re only allowed to try two flavours before you make up your mind.
Insia I — Google review
Visited Cambridge and went to several ice cream places and walked straight out as terrible flavour selection. THEN we found Dulcis!! What a find! Proper hand made Gelato like it should be made by a wonderful man from Sicily who, with his brother, make amazing flavours! adding the hand made cream on top was incredible! Anytime I’m in Cambridge I will definitely go again.

If you're looking for a delicious and creative date idea, check out Fudge Kitchen in Cambridge. This shop makes artisan fudge in small batches, which means you can sample different flavours before you buy. They're also really generous with samples, so you won't be disappointed. The fudge freezes well, so think ahead and stock up!
We did a fudge making experience today with Dan and it was absolutely brilliant! We made salted caramel fudge and learnt all the stages of making- with lots of tasting of the other flavours too. Dan was a fantastic teacher. Would thoroughly recommend. This is the best fudge we have ever had (and I’ve eaten a lot of fudge!).

We came in for a fudge making experience and it was amazing! Dan and Lee were so friendly and Dan showed us how to make fudge, all while plying us with an amazing section of fudge to try and take home! Couldn’t recommend this experience enough, especially if you’re looking for a gift idea for someone who has everything - so fun to try something new with such a friendly team!

Wonderful place - I came here a few weeks ago and had an amazing experience. From witnessing how the fudge is made, trying the free samples (and there are a variety of flavours) and the most wonderful staff. They are the nicest and friendliest people, you will feel welcomed. If in Cambridge and you like fudge it is a must that you go there. If they have the Mississippi mud pie flavour when you get there I 1000% recommend (and the rum and raisin - I don’teven like raisins but it was amazing)

Absolute highlight when visiting Cambridge. Kind staff with generous samples and very reasonable prices! Five stars: Tasty, fresh and authentic French pastries. Convenient racks for locking bikes and friendly staff. I've been coming back here for years now, couldn't recommend them more. They start early, so you can pop in for a bite and then ride/walk home or work. Their breads are also among the best in Cambridge

Some kind of hairs on the bottom of the tart, not cooled sugar shards but some kind of fibrous hair, when you pull it you can tell easily. Also some kind of green perhaps mould or cross contamination, not sure. Very disappointed, in fact, disgusted. Service is hit and miss, but atmosphere is generally fine.
Preet P — Google review
Regular customer for hearty bread and early morning breakfasts~ The almond croissant is layered with buttery crust on top and has the largest amount of tasty stuffing in all the croissants I had :) Even though the pastry has got quite cold in the early winter morning, it is still irresistible. (I’ll surely get fat if I come too often.) The pain au chocolat and pear tart are also good, and of course you can trust their bread. The flat white yesterday, however, was too bitter… (The beans might be on the very deeply roasted side, and over extraction perhaps?) Today’s Latte is alright. (Originally recommended by my high school roommate’s friend in Cambridge.)

Definitely the best croissant in Cambridge. Everything from Maison Clement is wonderful, from the coffee to the pastries.

Love their eclairs and pain au chocolate. Great bread too! This location has more seating than the one in city

Just like being in Paris, only in Cambridgeshire. ALWAYS good, with a side of attitude....and you'll meet folks and chat in the queue. Oh....dogs aren't allowed inside, so there are hooks at the front window (so not quite Paris, alas) Make sure to ask them to only put a few items in each paper bag. Bought 10 croissants yesterday, and I didn't notice that 8 had gone into one paper bag. Not good enough. They came out of the bag as PRESSED croissants. Lovely if you were looking for an abstract shape, but really I just wanted the standard light and fluffy type rather than the road kill look.

Not a particularly welcoming place, pain au chocolat with barely any chocolate (although the pastry was good) and the pain au raisin was rather better. Not a relaxing place to sit and I’m not a fan of someone sweeping the floor right next to me. All in all a bit disappointing.

Could be my favourite bakery in town. Definitely try the Nata. The savoury bakes are amazing too, especially the beef one. The Portuguese doughnut is excellent as well.

This small, Portuguese-influenced bakery has some unusual offerings. Liked the coconut macrons, danish pastries, while the fruited bun was slightly too dry. The Portuguese tarts should be interesting. Updated with savoury vegetarian pastries, also good. Prices a slightly lower than most other bakeries, and service is always friendly.

Aromi Caffe and Pizzeria is a popular cafe with multiple locations in the city, offering classic Sicilian fare such as pizza slices, focaccia, arancini, and cannoli. The cafe has a deli-style setup rather than a formal restaurant ambiance. They serve authentic sourdough pizza from a traditional stone oven and also offer traditional Sicilian snacks like cannoli. Customers can enjoy gluten-free options as well.
No reservation, no problem. Got seated pretty quickly. Tight space, a bit loud, but the vibe was relaxed and easygoing. Pizza was rectangular (yes, really), but the taste delivered: fresh toppings, good balance, and crunchy, airy crust. A solid spot for a casual pizza night 🍕

The food tastes great, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Authentic Sicilian cuisine. The interior design is cozy and visually appealing. The restaurant has washrooms in the basement, though they can be quite dirty at times. Customer service is hit or miss، some of the older staff aren’t very pleasant, and when I asked a younger staff member for water, he simply pointed to the bottles while standing right next to them instead of bringing one. Despite that, I still recommend the place for the food and ambiance.

It’s a pizza place near King’s College, Cambridge! You order first and then find a seat (basically self-service). 🍕 Pancetta Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (P1) A hot and fluffy thick-crust pizza topped with tomato sauce, sweet peppers, and cheese — tangy, sweet, and wonderfully fragrant. 🍕 Piccante Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (P2) Similar texture as above, but with spicy sausage 🌶️ on top — full of flavor! 🧁☕️ Tiramisu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (P3) Absolutely delicious! The coffee-soaked soft ladyfingers with rich, slightly rum-flavored cream are perfectly balanced and not heavy at all. Honestly, each person should order one!

I passed by this restaurant around noon to early afternoon and saw a long queue it was quite busy. However, when I returned in the early evening, around 6 PM on a Sunday, there was no line at all and the atmosphere was very relaxed. If you’d prefer to avoid waiting, I recommend coming during this time. Dine-in orders are freshly heated, which is a nice touch. I also tried the tiramisu, which was enjoyable. I had high expectations for the pizza, but personally didn’t enjoy the pizza sauce it was quite tangy, more sour than I’m used to. While it might suit some palates, it wasn’t quite to my taste.

I got the Zucchini Pizza, and it tasted good. The bread was crunchy and the Zucchini was soft. Also tried my friends’ Pistachio brownie and canoli which were very good. My friend also ordered the Pistachio latte and she loved it so much that she bought it twice in a day. The place was really crowded, especially during the lunch hour. The place has plenty of spaces and it was still hard to get a table for four. The queue to order was very long.

The worst service I have come across. Was served a burnt pizza and when I asked the staff about it I got a blank stare as if it was my mistake. Extremely rude staff, not one iota of concern for what is being served. The staff took away the pizza without a word and we were waiting for 10 minutes and sitting there wondering if a fresh one is being served or whether we should leave. Approached the counter and met with the same attitude by another staff. No apology, no smile and extremely rude. I would not be visiting again and recommend staying away from this place until the staff are trained.

The focaccias in Aromi are absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend trying the one with aubergine and tomato sauce (I think it was called Parmigiano Focaccia). The sauce was so rich in flavour and it complimented the cheese and the veggies so well. The only downside of the place was the chaos that was there. Even though the food was already ready, it took the staff quite some time to heat up the focaccias. I know that many people were waiting, but still, the logistics of the customer service could be improved. Also, when we finally sat at the table, it wasn't cleaned after the previous customers. Still, the food itself won us over.

Despite the good reviews, my experience at this café was awful. I ordered an iced brewed coffee, but the staff seemed unsure whether they even had it. One of them finally said yes, so I placed my order along with a pastry. What I received, however, was simply hot coffee poured over ice and, as shown in my photo, the cup was not even full!! This felt both disrespectful and dishonest. It would have been fine to simply say they do not serve cold brew, rather than serve a poor substitute in an incomplete cup. With so many better options in Cambrige offering warmer service and more honesty, I do not recommend this place at all!

Signorelli's Deli is an authentic Italian restaurant and deli located in Cambridge. The staff are known for their exceptional friendliness and efficiency, ensuring that customers are served promptly without feeling rushed. The menu features a variety of Italian specialties such as pizza slices, ciabatta sandwiches, and fresh pastas made daily. In addition to being a cafe, it also functions as a bakery, wine shop, and delicatessen all in one place.
WOW. Signorelli's serves up far and away the most flavorful, most consistently excellent Italian dishes in Cambridge. Somehow, all of their foods -- savoury, sweet, breakfast, lunch, anything -- always manage to knock it out of the park. The bready bases (focaccia, pizza, and all else) are perfectly crisp and chewy. Their pizza toppings are ultra flavorful and only of the highest quality. My personal favorite is the salame with taleggio, which is ultra creamy, crunchy, and spiced. For breakfast, the spinach torta salata is always so satisfiyingly chewy and rich. And I love their focaccia with absolutely any topping. Special shout-out for their desserts, though. Far and away the best tiramisu in the area -- ultra creamy and decadent, with generous serving sizes. I love their small cakes, too: you have to try the chocolate and ricotta bites, which are beyond fantastic both in terms of flavor and texture. You can tell that all products are made fresh in-house, with only the greatest love and care! Note that they're also the BEST around when it comes to catering and events. I was fortunate enough to work with them for a recent 2000-person event, and let me tell you: they left our guests absolutely astounded by their diversity, quality, consistency. Their savory bites -- from fresh deli meats to warm pizzas -- were the star of the show. And let me tell you that they executed this with truly stellar logistics, nonstop quality, and such brimming human warmth. You can tell that they are true catering experts! Beyond that, Signorelli's staff (and especially the owner, Alex) are absolutely a delight to work with. They have such a passion for food. And you can tell that they want to make sure every meal with them is special!

We stopped here for a quick pizza break. The pizza was very good but the knives were very blunt and could not cut the pizza! Also the individual tray is was served could not keep the crumps from scattering around and the parchment paper meant the pizza was slipping away! The waitress could not tell which pizza was each piece, but at least she was friendly. If you believe this review has been helpful for you, please don’t forget to press the 👍 button. Thank you.

I love this place, it is generally always busy and the atmosphere is not that great because it looks like a canteen. However the food is so good! You can also buy different Italian products like wine, cheese, olive oil etc.... To bring at.home. The staff is always friendly 👌

Mini Italy@Cambridge Interesting and creative menu. Always has new stuff that encourage you to come back. Full of surprises. As a result, often have difficulties in making decisions. Friendly staff. The wine tasting events are great value for money, but if you expect a proper tasting is not the place for you. Is more the kind of event where you go with friends and enjoy a night out.Plenty food : italian cheese and meat (the prosciutto is amazing, not the cheap one from the market) and various wines accompanied by the host description. If you are a wine lover you just found your place!

I visited this place for having some drinks with my friend and I absolutely loved it. The food was amazing, as well as the drink. (take care with the negroni🍹 is super strong). They also have nice and flavored icecream 🍨 . Something that I don't like about this place (and the main reason for 3*) is that they use plastic glasses so they finish their day with a huge quantity of used plastic... Sorry for taking out 2* for this, but this has a huge impact on us in future and I can't pass it.

I am absolutely in love with this place, so sad that we aren't local. It is perfect for a lunch- budget friendly, served quickly and tasted just amazing. The best part is that there is even something exciting for kids - hot dogs 🌭 but must admit they enjoyed our food even more 😁 Outdoors tables could be a bit bigger to match the size of the dishes and knives definitely need to be changed to something more sharper. Communication between staff was a bit complicated because none knew where and for who to serve dishes - we kindly didn't accept extra food we were given and sent it back.

All the desserts look amazing so I've expected more quality for them but I've got disappointed. The cakes have too much sugar, it is all sugar. Also, you can feel too much salt 🧂 on them. They are also dry, I finished my coffee and coke trying to eat the cake... If we will repeat someday will be to have a good coffee ( it's really good) and because of how the personal treat us, but not for the cafe.

A lovely Croque Monsieur and a slice of Strawberry Gateau washed down with a cup of Earl Grey Tea 🤩 My husband had a B.L.T and all was delicious. Definitely worth visiting for a quick pre-shop brunch! Staff were friendly, but the cafe itself is looking tired and could do with a freshen up.

The staff were polite and efficient but didn't talk much. We enjoyed the halloumi salad and the tuna melt but the cakes weren't that great, they seem very appetising to the eye but once on your plate, the taste is bland and not worth it. We tried the frangipane tart and the pecan and walnut tart. Maybe the other cakes are better. I don't think we will go back.

Tasty hot chocolate, nice a smooth and topped off with cream as an extra. Custard slice very tasty, we also had the baked cheese cake which is maybe more cheesey and sour than we are used to. Nice little restaurant with the option of scan to order and pay.

We ordered a christening cake from here. They made a beautiful cake with custom-made decorations. Even though it was 3 tiers it withstood a 30ish minutes trip down the A road to the celebration, and everyone was extremely impressed by both the design and the delicious flavour. People just kept wanting to know where we'd found such a brilliant cake! It was perfect!

A rather overrated spot. I recently visited this place after hearing much hype, but unfortunately found it quite overrated. While the taste and quality of the food and drinks are decent, they certainly don't justify the pricing — especially considering the nearly double cost difference between eat-in and takeaway options, which feels excessive. Queues were long and disorganised, adding to the underwhelming experience. One major issue was the takeaway cups: they offer very poor insulation and become far too hot to hold comfortably. It’s a small detail, but it genuinely affects the overall experience. All in all, not terrible, but far from living up to the buzz.

What an incredible find, all by chance ! Who would expect to find Portuguese snacks from a bakery called Norfolk Bakery in Cambridge ? It had famous Portuguese snacks, such as pasteis de nata and pasteis the bacalhau and a few rissois, all tasted authentic and at very reasonable prices. Even the charming serving young lady was from Oporto. There was a small area with tables at the back of the shop, but we took our snacks to have them in the adjacent Botanic Garden.

Best pastel de nata in town :D Creamy and generously sized. Apple tart and beef mushroom roll also tastes fabulous. One day I’ll try all the lovely baked goods. Flat white was alright, but it would be strange to eat pastries without sipping coffee. —- Stopped by for a nata to-go to ease the stress from the chaotic train disruptions. Perhaps there will be less trikes if everyone gets a nata from work…

I passed yesterday on the way to a meeting promising myself to pop in on the way back but knowing choice would be limited. Firstly it would help if the chap behind the counter wasn’t in such a rush but listened. I had to repeat my order three times as he was transfixed by two Japanese lads who were obviously unsure of what was on offer. I finally paid then walked to get my train only to find on sitting down that I did not have what I asked for. With no time to return I tucked into what I think I saw as Lamb Harissa, completely tasteless and devoid of flavour. Then a very dry fruit tart. Being in such a good position near the station I expect most of their trade is made up of passing trade.

Genuinely the worst Café food experience I've had. Went here with some mates. I got a Spicy Sriracha Chicken hot pocket which was frozen inside with literal ice on the chicken and tomatoes, which was replaced when the issue was raised. However, I found it to be a weird tasting concotion of frozen flavours which just didn't work. For £7.25 you can do much better. Save your money and a possible night on the toilet.

Fine for a sugar fix. Visited on a weekday evening so it was pretty quiet. The order came out quickly and was exactly as expected: smothered in chocolate and still warm. Aromi is a popular cafe in Cambridge serving classic Sicilian fare such as pizza slices, focaccia, arancini & cannoli. It has three centrally located branches and is perfect for a quick tasty lunch or lovely homemade gelato.
Saw the new pumpkin one online and know I have to try it. Love the earthy mellow sweet golden gooey puree with a touch of savory cheese. The pancetta is delightful. The rosemary goes perfectly with everything. The dough is beautiful as always. Crunchy crust and bouncy inside. Staff can be a little more friendly and patient comparing with the other shop.

As Italian I can say that it is the best place to feel at home here in cambridge, I tried their breakfast, their ice cream and also their pizza, all great, friendly staff, good prices, there is a wide and varied offer, mostly Sicilian cuisine, I will be back for sure!

Disappointed with the food. Aromi is one of my favourite food place in Cambridge but my recent visit to this branch was really disappointing for me. The service is very slow and my pizza is so watery. Probably, the put the fresh mozzarella without straining and it made my pizza soggy. Definitely not a usual Aromi slice for me. I complained about it but the waiter did not really care. Overall it was not a good experience and I hope Aromi will not one of these brand to lose its quality from time to time.

Incredible food and friendly staff. I am a local seeing how hard they work everyday to make your experience better, clean the shop till late evening. You can trust this shop fully and if you haven’t already tried their delicious pizza slices, pop in! It can get quite busy during the weekends so the atmosphere could get loud but that’s just the nature of eating out.

A bit overpriced but cute place for family and friends. Gelato is in very good quality and wide variety if flavours. We also tried one of their focacia and it was rich in taste, you could feel that quality of ingredients was higher than the average. Staff was also very friendly welcoming people with a smile.

Absolutely disgusting! The chef puts sauce on the pizza with his bare hands — no gloves, no hygiene. This is unsafe and unsanitary. You’ll end up getting food poisoning if you eat here. Avoid at all costs.
Crack M — Google review
We were visiting Cambridge and decided to stop at Aromi because the food in the window looked really appealing. Unfortunately, the taste did not match the appearance at all. The ham was old, with a bad smell and a discoloured, almost decaying look. The pizza sauce tasted sour, and I honestly can’t describe the flavour of the mozzarella. One of the pizzas with courgettes I couldn’t even bring myself to eat, and the caponata tasted mostly of harsh vinegar and pickled vegetables. Everything went straight in the bin, except the ragù arancini, which was decent. To add to the experience, the cutlery was handed to us without even a napkin and placed directly on the table, which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. The outdoor table was so slanted it was hard to eat without things sliding off. I really hope I didn’t eat anything that will make me unwell. I’m sorry to leave this review because the staff behind the counter seemed to be working hard, but unfortunately, the food quality is really poor and disappointing.
Francesco R — Google review
I have been a Aromi's customer for quite a while already. The food and coffee were nice. There are different food options available, depending on your budget. The staff were nice, as always. Glad that the environment and toilets were clean, otherwise it will be a disaster, a biohazard for everyone. As the cafe is so small, the tables are close to each other. Unfortunately it's inevitable, as it's a small cafe located at Cambridge town centre. Rent must be high. Overall it's nothing to fault about.

My children were quite keen on getting a bubble tea and luckily we found this place. The staff was very attentive and patient to our requests (yes my kids were quite clear on what they wanted). Overall the place is small but the taste is really good, the service as mentioned is really good and the value for money is very positive.

While the ambiance was pleasant, the bubble tea fell far short of expectations—it was the worst I've ever tasted. I'm now kicking myself for not researching bubble tea reviews beforehand, blindly trusting the star rating. Despite the menu listing a price of £3.50, I ended up paying £4.70, and to compound the disappointment, the drink was lukewarm. While not as terrible as some have claimed, it's certainly overpriced for the mediocre taste.

Honestly wanted to like the place but couldn’t because even with waffles and hot chocolate looking really good, a sticky table and unpleasantly smelling towel a waiter ‘cleaned’ it with ruined the place for me. Pros 1. Big, and I mean BIG portions, waffles are enormous and sinfully loaded with chocolate/caramel/different toppings 2. An adorable doggo called Levy - he slept and snored while my friends were enjoying the waffles. I wanted to pet him but was afraid to disturb the good boy ☺️ 3. Nice and friendly staff. They were kind to let us stay and chat for quite a long time after we were done with our food. Thank you! Cons 1. The sticky table. Yuck! 2. The waiter cleaned it but the towel used was smelly and dirty. 3. We spend around three hours there. The doggo was sleeping nearby and even with him looking quite okay, I was a bit worried. There was a water bowl but nobody took him outside for a walk during the time we were there, a lot of people touched and pet him, there was constant noise. Maybe Levy is fine with it but I got the feeling he is not living his best life 😒

Lovely little waffle place with gorgeous bubble waffles, nice coffee and yummy bubble tea. Weirdly cheaper than everywhere else but much tastier. I have never tried anything from this company before. That was until I saw a slot from TooGoodToGo advertising a £9.00 to £3.50 purchase, which I took up on. I have also never been much of a waffle fan, but that changed the day I tried one of these waffles. In my surprise bag, I had 4 waffles, a pot of chocolate chips (to melt), a banana, and four small individual wrapped biscuits. The edges of the waffles had a nice sweet crust, and they went so perfect with the melted chocolate. Would I spend full price on one of these waffles? Absolutely. Not only is it worth the experience, it managed to turn a waffle hater into a waffle lover. I’ll definitely be visiting again in the future.

After 'checking' croissants in many countries in Europe and outside - even in Paris in France, I came to the conclusion to stop buying a croissant anywhere else, besides in Maison Clément. It is without doubt just the best and every other try is a disappointment and just not it

202405 It’s been on my list and happens to appear at a department lecture! The cookies are bravo indeed. Not sweet and delightfully savory. Fluffy and not greasy. I couldn’t help staring at them during the discussion XD Now I’ll really go and get these for myself! (The walnut one reminds me of home and is my favorite. The twisted one is saltier and awesome too. 202405 update: My friends in London adore these cookies too! Not too sweet. Crumbly but not too flaky or greasy. The sesame savory ones are the stars! I decided to come here finally in person after having lunch nearby. A full box of 24 heavy pieces for 10 pounds :D not bad.

Delicious desserts to go. I got the Red Velvet and Pistachio cake desserts. Fresh, great flavour and beautiful presentation. Friendly staff and efficient service. I travelled quite 150 miles to visit Cambridge and it was nice to have a pleasant treat for my journey back.

Popped in to buy baklava - £28 per kg, came home, weighed in at 190g, charged £9 instead of £5.30. Not impressed. Owners' response - 6 pieces are below 8 pieces threshold for charging by the kg, and each piece is charged at a flat rate of £1.50. This means that 6 cost £9, but 8 would have cost £7. However, this flexible pricing was not displayed anywhere near the baklavas, nor indicated as a better option during service...

Heavenly Desserts Cambridge is an upscale dessert café that delights visitors with its imaginative offerings, including creative waffles, indulgent chocolate fondue, and decadent ice-cream sundaes. The menu also features unique treats like custard-filled doughnuts that are delightfully squishy and rich in flavor. Guests can enjoy a variety of high-quality ice creams and gelatos from renowned brands such as Dulcis and Jack's Gelato.
The options felt endless and it was a struggle to decide on what to have, but it's all the more excuse to come again. Everything was freshly made and you could really taste the quality. While the atmosphere felt very upper-class, we didn't feel out of place and it was nice to see lots of other families. We went for lunch service so I can't speak for evening service, but the staff were lovely and kindly answered any questions we had.

Had the best birthday at Heavenly Desserts Cambridge! Jumana❤️ and Sidrah❤️ went above and beyond – from amazing food art to super kind service. Everything looked and tasted perfect. Big thanks to them for making it special! Highly recommend to everyone.

Food (lunch) very good! Bur service was slow, even though the place want that busy then we arrived. Music volume was seriously turned upduring our meal, and do was the AC. Lock to ladies/disabled toilet was crummy and the seat was loose. To bad of the peripherals, because as said, the food was great!

Went there with my boyfriend and oh my goodness both of us absolutely loved it. I ordered a 'Design your own' and I got a fudge cake, with dark chocolate sauce, strawberry sorbet ice cream and a watermelon ice Mohito to drink. My boyfriend ordered crepes with milk chocolate and an Americano. The vibe of this place was so sweet, everything was pink, plenty of flowers everywhere. Staff members were very nice as well
Klaudia K — Google review
Lovely choice of desserts. Ordered croffles which were tasty. Drinks however, particularly the blood orange lemonade, were bland. Service was initially fine but trying to get the bill and pay was difficult. We were ignored for quite a while. I wonder had we have left without paying (we didn't obviously) if they'd have actually noticed!

Heavenly Desserts boasts a fantastic selection of vegan desserts. They also offer brunch, though the vegan choices are limited. The venue itself is a wonderful place to eat — clean, spacious, and inviting.
James — Google review
Had a wonderful Full Breakfast (Lamb bacon, poached egg, spiced beans, roast tomatoes, mushrooms, hash brown bites, fresh croffle) with orange juice. What I particularly liked was the crispy croffle, but everything was cooked perfectly. The only minor issue was that the bacon was a little chewy. I would not order the juice as it was not freshly squeezed but cordial. Overall, it was a very nice experience. Staff are attentive and pleasant.

Met here with a book club - it’s a great place to go in the evening if you don’t want to drink alcohol/be in a pub/bat. Nice decor. I had a crepe which was freshly cooked and yummy. Only downside was service was a bit haphazard, not awful they just got a bit confused.

Customers appreciate the variety and quality of the donuts, often considering them as an occasional treat due to their irresistible nature. I was served instantly, and I ordered a biscoff doughnut. It was very nice, even though it was the price of an average meal deal

The lady that serve me today just before closing was the most professional and nice employee ever served me in Krispy Kreme. Unfortunately I forgot her name but give her some credit as she is an exceptional young lady.
Anna V — Google review
I went into the store, at 9am on 15/11/24. I was there to redeem a coupon for free donuts. The young lady, at the till, with dyed, reddish hair, practically threw the box onto the counter. I sent a friend of mine in three hours time to the same store. Never said a word about the service. She came back and told me how disappointed she was in the customer service. Same young lady. My recommendation is to send her for re-training in customer service. She was awful! Or hire someone, that actually appreciates working at Krispy Kreme.
Emma E — Google review
Exceptional selection and friendly, helpful staff. Coffee is surprisingly good! Kiosk is clean and well presented and the staff are quick and knowledgable. Seems silly to over react about donuts but it was refreshing to see people that are good at their job.

Miserable guy at the desk, he left a sign saying back in 30 mins, then didn’t say sorry for the wait, I said is there a chance I could get a free donut as it’s my birthday. He instantly said “No, you need the app.” Very grumpy, young curly hair young lad. Donuts were amazing though

Amorino Gelato in Cambridge is a delightful destination for gelato lovers, having made its mark since being introduced by Jack, also known as Jacks Gelato. This charming spot often buzzes with activity, especially on sunny days, thanks to the dedicated staff who work efficiently to serve eager customers without long waits. The gelato here is a feast for the senses; vibrant colors reflect natural ingredients rather than artificial additives.
Had a wonderful experience at Amorino. The staff really take their time with each order and there’s a fantastic variety of flavours to choose from. My sister accidentally picked a chocolate cone that had nuts (she’s allergic) and the team were incredibly kind and understanding. They swapped it out without any fuss. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout. Plus, the ice cream is crafted into a beautiful flower shape, which makes it as stunning as it is delicious. Highly recommend!
S A — Google review
I love the way they arrange the ice cream in a flower shape! The ice cream itself was alright overall. The mint chocolate was a bit too minty for my taste, almost like toothpaste. The hazelnut chocolate was nice but could’ve had a stronger flavour. The raspberry sorbet didn’t pair well with the other flavours I chose, but it was quite tasty on its own. The tiramisu had a pleasant hint of coffee, which I enjoyed.
Janet C — Google review
This ice cream spot serves up flavors that are pleasantly enjoyable — not overly sweet, with a smooth texture and just the right balance. A lovely little treat that hits the spot when you're craving something cool and creamy.

Amazing ice cream if you don’t mind spending a extra few £££ Ice cream was lovely and it wasn’t overly sweet. The flower design was beautiful. And staff were extremely helpful showing us the flavours and serving us! + the pistachio flavour is incredible - really need to try !

My partner and I were absolutely delighted with how delicious everything was. The staff were very friendly, the restroom was clean, and the interior is really beautiful, even though it can get a bit crowded.
Yarys — Google review
This ice cream is absolutely amazing! The taste is rich and delicious, while the texture is creamy and perfectly smooth. Every bite melts in the mouth with a refreshing flavor. The blend of chocolate and vanilla is well-balanced, and the sweetness is just right – not too much, not too little. The toppings and crunchy chips on top make it even more enjoyable... Thanks Sayed for amazing ice cream

We found this great new ice cream shop near King's college. The owner warmly welcomed us and introduced various flavours. I was quite surprised that there are so many vegan options here (in other places it is usually only one or none vegan options). I chose apricot and pear, which turned out to be really nice - I can feel that they are made from real fruits and not artificial! I recommend pear to people who love a light and refreshing flavour like me, and apricot is more suitable for people like sweet flavours. The owner also invited us to try the dark hot chocolate (vegan friendly!) - it was great too and definitely a perfect choice for people who wanted to grab a warm drink in the cold weather. Overall I highly recommend this place
Boya Z — Google review
Best ice cream in Cambridge!! Best service, flavours AND location. Joseph (“Chief Scooper”) is the Heston Blumenthal of Cambridge: the photo shows a wonderfully refreshing Haggis flavour (sweet & salty 😋) on top of Guinness flavour: so smooth & delicious! The array of other flavours included 3 variations of chocolate and more unusual combinations. Such a treat, cheery service & very reasonable price then we enjoyed sitting in the sun with stunning backdrop of Kings College (far better than the many trolleys or the competition down side alleys….) We definitely want to go again & again! 😁

Adventurous Flavours The ice cream was very rich and creamy, with homemade waffle cones too. Would recommend trying the adventurous flavours rather than the classics. As the adventurous flavours are quite unexpected and surprising. Although the classics tasted good too. I think it will be better if there are some seats (with tables, if possible) in the shop!
Pui L — Google review
I randomly popped into the store yesterday evening when I saw it was open, and OHMYGOD, I’m so glad I did! Tried a few flavors—roasted coffee, crème fraîche, and saffron—and loved ALL of them😩♥️🤌. Honestly had trouble choosing because everything was so good! The ice cream was rich, creamy, and full of flavor, with the perfect level of sweetness—everything was on point✨️. And the team member working there? An absolute gem! So friendly and amazing. He told me how the owner makes everything from scratch, and honestly, it left me awestruck🤍. I was so impressed! This place is a haven for ice cream lovers, and they’ve got more than just ice cream—hot chocolates and other treats too! I never had a favorite ice cream spot in Cambridge—now I do. Can’t wait to bring my friends to taste this! 🍦🤍✨️

My wife and I visited this wonderful place today. The owner is a lovely person and made us feel so welcome - and had such a huge passion for making really interesting ice cream flavours. He made me a chocolate milkshake that was an experiment, which ended up being one of the best milkshakes I've had. This shop - and its owner - deserves all the business it can get!

Terrific choice of eclectic ice cream flavours, hot and cold drinks and cookies. Very friendly, cheerful service from enthusiastic staff. And definitely no crazy queue... unlike other local purveyors. Being struck by a spoon is entirely optional. Would certainly recommend a visit.

Excellent! Highly recommended by lots of friends and it lived up to the hype! Unique and delicious gelato flavors, all homemade including the cones (which were also free of charge:) Make sure to grab some ice cream while you watch the Chronotroph at the Corpus Clock:)

Tucked away on King’s Parade, Spoonstruck is an absolute hidden gem, a sanctuary for anyone who adores rich, indulgent treats. I was lucky enough to experience their vegan hot chocolate—crafted specially for us by the unbelievably kind owner, who went above and beyond to make a fresh batch just for us. Not only that, but they even topped it with the most heavenly vegan marshmallows, which melted into the velvety drink like little clouds of sweetness. Every sip was an explosion of deep, decadent chocolate, impossibly smooth and luxurious, coating the palate with an intensity that lingered long after the last drop. It wasn’t just a hot chocolate—it was an experience, a moment of pure bliss on a chilly Cambridge day. I can say with absolute certainty that I’ll be returning, and if you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on something truly special. Spoonstruck isn’t just an ice cream shop—it’s a little pocket of magic. ✨🍫💛

Overpriced and overrated. The cakes were nothing special and the tea was weak with an odd taste. We paid typically inflated 'service area' prices and felt underwhelmed. Pattiserie Valerie used to be special but now it's just another coffee shop chain that's way too expensive.
