The Sea Fuel fish and chips restaurant in the West End is a popular spot for fresh seafood. The chefs here are experts in preparing delicious meals made with local and sustainable ingredients, which you can enjoy inside or out under bright blue skies. With a wide range of options to choose from, this restaurant is ideal for any seafood lover!
Have been coming to Sea Fuel for around 15 years now and the seafood is always fantastic! Super fresh, tasty and very crispy batter 👌👏 The dishes we ordered were the seafood basket and the barramundi with chips. Both were thoroughly enjoyed! Highly recommend if you're looking for some great fish n chips in West End.

Sea Fuel Takeaway in West End is an absolute gem! Their oysters are some of the freshest and most delicious I’ve had — perfectly shucked and full of flavour. The quality of the seafood here is consistently excellent, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re grabbing a quick takeaway or sitting down for a casual meal, the experience is always top notch. Highly recommend for any seafood lover!
Vanessa M — Google review
So glad I have not chosen some fancy place at the South Bank. This one is about excellent food and decent service, away from tourist crowds. If you are after sea food in a genuine atmosphere, Sea Fuel is an excellent choice.
Iveta P — Google review
Pretty good. The chips themselves are solid. I got one of the platters to share with my partner and she particularly liked the prawns. I think the one thing that holds the place back is the chicken salt is a bit 'generic' in that it seems to be the same as other similar seafood restaurants. Some of my favourite places back in Adelaide tended to put their own spin including herbs etc, and I think it's a pity more places here don't go that extra step. That said, the chips themselves are pretty good.
Stephen D — Google review
The food is cooked well and tasty! but the wait time was a little too long for fish and chips. - this was on Good Friday - public holiday
MK29 — Google review
What an amazing place! The staff are so welcoming, and it felt as if I belonged there! The food is hard to compete against! I would recommend here to all my friends and family every time! 6/5 stars if I could.
Lawson A — Google review
We recommend, it was very good.the fish were very fresh. The salad was very tasty. 😋
Osnat S — Google review
Sea Fuel has a lovely atmosphere and great staff, it used to have great food as well, but food quality has gone down hill. (It feels like new owners or something like that??) My daughter loves coming here and that’s the only reason I haven’t changed but this last outing will be my last unless the quality of food changes. The fish was dry and tasteless, prawn cutlets and other fried seafood on the platter was overcooked and reminded me of crappy frozen seafood. The Greek salad is drowning in so much dressing as well. I hope food quality improves. 🙏🏻

Clayfield Seafood Markets is a popular spot with a constant crowd, offering fresh fish and seafood. The staff is friendly and efficient, providing quick service for orders. The Nippers Burger is highly recommended, especially with the option of a gluten-free bun. Despite longer wait times on public holidays, the team manages orders professionally and ensures customers are updated on their wait time. Overall, the food is hot, generously portioned, and consistently good.
Truly a 10/10 every time I go. Food is always fresh and delicious. I also think the calamari might be magic? Somehow never stringy, always utterly delightful

10/10! Fresh seafood, great service and staff and the batter was very crispy! Would definitely return next time!

Came in the morning at 8am and there was no queue at all. Good selection of a menu from decent to pricey items. Smack in the middle of Clayfield, it's quite convenient to get to for most Brissy Northsiders. Quaint.
Soterion U — Google review
Absolutely the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The seafood is incredibly fresh, the batter is light and crispy, and everything tastes amazing. Clayfield Seafood is definitely my go-to place for fresh, delicious seafood. Highly recommended!
April Z — Google review
Without fail, this was my go-to takeway every Sunday when I was in Brisbane. Battered fish, chips with chicken salt and crumbed calamaris have always been excellent there. Friendly people behind the counter too. Parking could be a bit of a challenge especially during peak hours.
Amir A — Google review
Our favourite local fish and chips shop. Would recommend to anyone. Our only dislike is the dimsim. Definitely hope that will be replaced in the tradies box. Update... 15.06.25 Asked for replacement of the dimsim however did not happen. Also disappointed that everything was extremely oily today. Not sure if new staff needs more training...
Jan J — Google review
Ordered from the toast Malone section on uber eats. First of all the food is fire, amazing quality and proportions. Second when we didn’t receive one of our items they handled it with so much care and made sure we got exactly what we wanted with no extra cost! This place slaps and will definitely be returning whenever I can ☺️
Nyx C — Google review
Excellent seafood - both fresh and cooked. It is a little more expensive than others, but I go there as I know I'll get super fresh seafood. I usually get fresh oysters, sashimi grade salmon/ tuna and occasionally cooked fish and chips. Not a fancy dine in venue, but there are a few seats.

Restaurant
One Fish Two Fish is a trendy seafood restaurant located in Kangaroo Point, offering a fresh take on traditional fish and chips. The menu features a variety of global seafood dishes such as shellfish pot-au-feu, seafood risotto, softshell crab sliders, tiger prawns, kingfish sashimi, and Cajun fish tacos. The restaurant caters to families with a special Small Fish menu for kids.
Went for the lobster feast for a limited time only (so definitely get on it) - $125 for 5 delightful courses, between which a lobster is shared. There is a thoughtful palate cleanser between appetizer and main. Service was friendly and prompt, and the ambience was perfect for a dinner or friend date, love the tasteful decor.
Cass C — Google review
Very fresh and unique flavours. I especially enjoyed the avocado mousse in the bug cocktail! Cocktails were nice too. Nice cosy atmosphere with lovely staff.
Nikki W — Google review
Went for dinner - the staff were friendly and the restaurant was in a nice location. Our food was hit or miss, the oysters were really nice but the rest of our food was disappointing. Unfortunately, the portion sizes do not feel the best value for money.
S — Google review
Today, we had the pleasure of dining at One Fish Two Fish, where we savoured their delightful Lobster Six Course Special, a heartwarming experience at $125 per person. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and led to a cosy corner with a lovely view of the bar. The ambiance was inviting, with sunlight streaming through large windows and soft 80’s melodies playing in the background. We began with refreshing drinks—a zesty lemon, lime, and bitters, alongside a fragrant lychee mocktail. Their drinks menu offered a delightful array of choices to complement your meals. The six-course meal began with a charming starter that set a delightful mood for lunch. We were then treated to a tantalising appetiser, igniting our appetites. For the entrée, we were offered two enticing options, and we couldn't help but choose both, eager to share and experience the flavours together. Following that, a refreshing palate cleanser arrived, a lovely interlude before the main event. The main course presented us with two heartwarming choices, and of course, we couldn't resist sampling both, relishing the experience side by side. Finally, as we approached the end of our culinary adventure, we were presented with two exquisite desserts, and sharing these sweet creations felt like the perfect way to cap off a memorable meal.
Lainey S — Google review
Very disappointed! $29 and the (snapper) fish wouldn’t even feed a child let alone an adult. Hardly any chips in the pack either. We brought 3 meal packs and the other two cod meals had more suitable sized pieces of fish but still very poor amount of chips. Service was ok, nice restaurant set up inside. Need to greatly improve the amount of chips for the price you are charging and also the size of the fish. Hopefully you make some changes
George N — Google review
I went into this place just wanting a layer back fish and chips but it was way fancier than expected. The fish and chips were cooked so well and nicely seasoned, definitely a little small though. The bay bug dish was soft and comforting. This was my first time trying oysters so i can’t really tell you if it was good. The food was in general very nice.
Johnnie R — Google review
Went for Valentine's and had the set menu. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the staff are attentive but not intrusive. There was just the right time between courses to not be left hungry and not rushed. It's more on the fine dining side than your local chippy and nice for a treat. You leave feeling satisfied with the whole experience. Would definitely recommend and will be going again.
Ruth K — Google review
Partner booked the place to celebrate my birthday as we kept driving past but never got a chance to try. Atmosphere was lovely, and staff were very attentive. Food tasted nice enough, but it always feels wrong to leave a restaurant hungry. We spent $150. The octopus entree was good, citrusy and refreshing, the seafood fish stew was alright, desert was good but the most disappointing dish was the main special, which was the $38 barramundi. There were only a few mouthful's worth on the plate, the fish size was not only small but thin, so very thin, inflation crisis thin. The most memorable dish of the night was the fat chips, for $9 they were everything you wanted fat chips to be.

The Fish Factory is a popular supplier for top restaurants in Brisbane, offering fresh fish and chips at affordable prices. In addition to its takeaway options, the restaurant also serves Asian cuisine with a diverse menu featuring dishes from various Southeast Asian countries. Customers can enjoy a range of seafood options, including well-cooked marinara and perfectly battered fish. The establishment's attention to detail is evident in their kids' menu as well.
I visited the fish factory today with my clients (all seniors) and we all are very thankful for the amazing service and hospitality the staff members provided. When we arrived there, one of the staff members helped us at the car park: he moved some pallets out of the way for us to park our buses, he even stopped the traffic to make sure that my clients were safe while walking from the parking lot into the restaurant. The fresh food looked amazing, the oysters were delicious. The staff in the restaurant, they all were very nice and friendly; Susie is amazing. The food was great, tasty and fresh. My clients had a great time and really loved their lunch. They already are looking forward to visiting this place again soon. Thank you so much guys for everything!

I always want to find a seafood market where I could eat lots of different oysters, fresh lobster and king prawns in Brisbane. This is so far this is the best. The mussels were very fresh and properly cleaned. We tried the Sydney rocks, a bit too dried, while the coffin bay were fresh and fantastic. Fish n chips was very crisp and fried to perfection.
Eva L — Google review
They had a lobster special, typically lobsters are unavailable here. Its definitely 😋 they should consider having it on the menu. I felt the prawns wasn't as sweet or succulent. Oysters were better than average.
JJay — Google review
Delicious food, wasn’t too oily, nice seasoning, good service. Parking was very easy on a Saturday afternoon as well. Would definitely come back when we’re craving seafood

A fish market located in Morningside, a suburb of Brisbane. The place has fresh seafood options to choose from, such as prawns, fish, mussels, clams, scallops, and even lobsters. It also has a restaurant, where they sell fresh seafood dishes. Ordered the fish and chips from different kinds of fish, fresh oysters, and also a tuna sushi from the sushi bar. Overall, the foods taste exceptional, highlighting the freshness of the seafood. The fish are cooked to perfection, tender, flaky, and well seasoned. The oysters also taste very fresh. The sushi is one of the best sushi to try, as the tuna they used in the sushi is very fresh. This is a recommended place to try fresh seafood and different dishes highlighting it.

Came to try as a friend recommended. Not disappointed 😊 The seafood are fresh and delicious. The battered prawns skewed are really nice, so are the scallops balls, so juicy and fresh. The beer battered barramundi is also nicely done and juicy on the inside. Overall good! Recommended!

The Fishery is a laid-back little eatery with locally sourced seafood and traditional fish 'n' chips. The fish were fresh and of good quality, and the chips were perfectly cooked.
Ordered fish salad and chips. The food was legit delicious, and the place was super clean and tidy. Everyone was respectful. We are not used to seeing this kinda store that often these days. Honestly, how are you even offering this kind of service and quality at these prices? Places like this are rare nowadays. This is it, sir.

Super hot day felt like fish and chips. Arrived at The Fishery & we were greeted by friendly helpful staff. The establishment was clean and fresh. Food was well priced, well prepared, served promptly, was fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.

In my opinion the best in Brisbane They do a standard fish and chip special or served with salad. It is always perfect, never oily, the crumb is just right. The salad is fresh, the dressing served on the side is beautiful. You can’t fault it. It’s always consistent Food comes out quickly. The staff are real people, very kind, and sincere, They have daily fresh fish specials, oysters, prawns etc. There is an outdoor area to sit You will not be disappointed. Give it a go.

Great chips, the cod/hoki was a little slimey & they gave us battered even though we ordered crumbed. Decent value for money
Gabriel L — Google review
Always great quality seafood and the size of serving is the old fashion large kind. Chips are the best. So many chips. Love the friendliness of the staff. Made up a lovely garden salad. I am not a big fan of tatare sauce but theirs was creamy with less tart and really enjoyed it.

They have friendly staff, really patient to wait for me and answer my questions, although the seafood I bought is not as good as I expected, which is about 6/10

Ordered by phone 3 sets of Fish & Chips $12.90, upgraded to Snapper, was not advised that the price is going to be charged per kilo. Got charged $50 dollars for 3 tiny fillets, extra $12 dollars ridiculous cooking fee (I don’t think you need to be a master chef to put fish and chips in oil and fry it) and extra $18 dollars per chips! Total $27 dollars per meal!!! In fine dining restaurant you pay this money, and they give you salad, tartar sauce, great service and the ambience, definitely not the price for the take away shop! When we called back, the guy on the phone was very rude and had “I don’t care” attitude. I will never order again and I have already advised my colleague about rip-off prices.
The F — Google review
After going on google to look for a great place that does quality fish and chips we went to The Fishery in Milton... Man were we highly disappointed. We ordered 2 battered snapper and chips with a punnet of tartare sauce at and expensive cost of $50.60. they charged 30.11 for the snapper then a cooking fee of $5 per piece to cook.. The order come out rather quickly, and looked very dirty coloured from aged oil, the snapper have a very thick batter filled with oil, when we cut into the snapper it was still raw in the middle, my partner spoke to the staff and they cooked the snapper further and handed it back. When tasting the fish it was just absolutely disgusting, bad enough that it was only good for the rubbish bin. What a terrible experience here, this was our first and last time here, definitely worth the drive to Sandgate where they care about quality and customer satisfaction.

In 2018, The Barra Boys made a splash in East Brisbane's culinary scene, redefining the traditional fish and chip experience. Located at the vibrant intersection of Stanley Street East and Edgar Street, this eatery offers an impressive array of fresh seafood options alongside classic favorites like burgers, salads, and snacks such as potato scallops and calamari.
Barra Boys review “Best in town” We can’t recommend Barra Boys more highly enough as somewhere you are guaranteed to receive outstanding delicious fresh melt in mouth fish & chips meals. Great range of fresh fish & seafood. Their own homemade salads. We have been repeat customers for years & have always received the highest quality meals and attentive service. Great sit down casual dining. Stase & Virginia run a fantastic family owned & operated restaurant, reasonably priced, family & pet friendly, and the best customer service.
Debbie G — Google review
Based on my experience, the standout feature of this shop was the cooking of the fish. I ordered the barramundi, which was beautifully cooked—flaky, juicy, and one of the best I’ve had. The chips were also excellent: crisp, golden, and very satisfying. However, a few aspects fell short. The Greek salad appeared a bit aged, lacking freshness, and while the coleslaw was crunchy, its dressing was thin and watery, resulting in minimal flavour. Additionally, the sauces seemed store-bought rather than house-made— a missed opportunity, as homemade condiments often elevate the experience at quality fish and chip shops. Portion size was another concern. As shown in the attached photo, the serving appeared to be half of a fillet, which felt rather modest given the $31 price tag. A more generous portion would provide better value for money. Overall, I would return for the outstanding fish if the portion sizes, salads, and sauces improve. It cost me around $35 for chips, grilled fish, salad and added aioli. Which is a good price if I received a whole fillet of fish, and good salad. Edit: After reviewing other reviews. I confirm that they only gave me half a fillet which isn’t listed on the menu. Other photos of barramundi show the entire fillet, whereas mine is literally half a fillet.

Great fish and chips restaurant which is locally owned. Very popular with locals for pickup. A good selection of fish available. Food was excellent and reasonably priced for the portion size. Served fresh, hot and great presentation. Lots of outside seating available with a comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

This place is the Best Seafood in Town!! Fresh Oysters and the best seafood salad… Burgers and Fish are always Amazing!! The Chips are always Yummy!! And the Service is Amazing as well Husband and Wife Team are the Best always Wonderful when we go there!! Been going here for years and never had a problem with their food or service!! So if you’re a seafood fan or even burgers this is the place to go!! Barra Boys always!! Go and Try them for sure!!

I recently visited The Barra Boys and ordered the calamari and chips. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. The lady at the counter (an older staff member) was quite rude and unhelpful. I had a few questions about the menu items, particularly the fish options, but she didn’t make any effort to explain or assist. Because of this, I ended up ordering calamari instead of the fish and chips I actually wanted. The calamari itself was a letdown – it had a strong, unpleasant smell and just didn’t taste fresh. Overall, the poor customer service and below-average food left a bad impression. I won’t be returning.

My husband bought me fish and chips for two home today and I can honestly say it was the BEST and FRESHEST takeaway I’ve had in a very long time ! Generous serving, served by Virginia, who was very friendly and accommodating. Fish n Chips for 2 , do yourself a huge favour and you will not be disappointed. 10⭐️

Fresh and excellent quality fish and chips. We ordered a large ordered the day before and it was ready right on schedule. Potentially more pricey than local competitors but personally I think this is worth it based on the quality alone. Friendly staff on a Saturday morning too.
Ben B — Google review
As a local we wanted to give the food a try. Unfortunately it was a disappointing meal. Took approx 4 mins to get home and by hen the chips were already cold and lacked flavour - I don’t think there was any salt at all, but were not asked as to its exclusion. Calamari was okay. The BBQ octopus was interesting but also cold.

Manly Boathouse is a modern Australian and seafood restaurant located in a spacious area with wooden floors and high ceilings. It has taken the place of Wilsons Boathouse, offering a beautiful interior and a menu that reflects the bayside locale. The husband-and-wife team behind Newstead's Reef Seafood and Sushi have transformed Wilsons into Manly Boathouse, featuring a fish and chippery, patio, and main restaurant.
Dinner at Manly Boathouse was such a beautiful experience. The waterfront views in the evening are absolutely stunning, and the atmosphere feels both elegant and relaxed. The food was fresh, flavourful, and perfectly prepared — the seafood especially stood out. The service was warm and attentive, making the whole evening feel special. It’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a celebration by the water. Definitely a spot I’d love to come back to again.

Atmosphere filled venue with stunning view s of the Marina. Customer service was exceptional and dietary requirements were covered in detail. This was the best fish dish I’ve had outside my Fisho’s kitchen.

We got the fully Mindy experience and it was worthwhile. Mindy welcomed us warmly and made our night. The scallops and pork belly were lovely, cooked well and the flavours paired nicely. The risotto was nicely balanced but a tad chalky. Overall, we love the vibe and the food. Give Mindy a pay rise!

Oh my goodness, The Manly Boathouse! It was time to trade my fancy-dinner-self (from a previous lovely evening) for my I-just-need-a-caffeine-fix-self. The hype for their cafe was calling my name like a seagull to an unattended chip. The location? Absolutely gorgeous! It’s like the ocean itself decided to plop a fabulous cafe right on its doorstep. They've got a wonderful, open-plan seating situation, perfect for soaking up the coastal vibes. And what's this? A live musician serenading us! I'm pretty sure I saw a dolphin tap its foot. Now for the crucial moment: the coffee. I asked for a proper mug, ready for a sophisticated sip, but received my brew in a takeaway cup. A little part of me died, but like a true Australian, just kidding I’m American, I shrugged it off and kept my good spirits (the sea air helps with that). Let's be honest, the coffee itself isn't going to win any "Best Brew to Sail the Seven Seas For" awards, but that's okay! The real star here is the vibe and, frankly, the wind. You will absolutely, positively, get the salty ocean wind whipping through your hair like a tiny, enthusiastic, non-stop hairdresser. If you cherish your perfectly styled locks, you have been warned! It’s an absolute ripper out there. If you want to leave with the same hair you came with, I strongly recommend a strategic indoor table reservation. In summary: Come for the stunning location, the lively atmosphere, and a little light wind-based mischief. Stay for a solid, if not spectacular, cup of coffee. I left feeling utterly ocean-drenched and completely charmed. Just bring a hair tie!

The only thing I didn't like about this place is the parking..There is not enough disabled spots and the parking is public so it's shared with people going for walks etc..We had to park quite a bit down the road and walk..At the front of the premises is the fish and chippery..Nice seating with bay views..I ordered the Crumbed cod,sea scallop,Prawn and potato scallop.. I literally sqealed when I saw my fish,it was huge and thick..Very tasty too.The sea scallop was delicious too..Pricing was very good..Around the side there is a patisserie and restaurant..There was even a guy singing in the corner..it was Wednesday morning..There is seating outside for breakfast at the patisserie while restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating which overlooks boat harbour..After lunch I ordered a nice scroll from patisserie and we went to watch the sailing boats..Very nice day at Manly..

No better place to enjoy fresh & tasty seafood by the water on a lovely brissie day. Recommend getting in early to get a good table with umbrella during the warmer months. Love the freshly cooked seafood & old school potato scallops & ducking to the bar for an equally tasty & enjoyable cocktail. Pet friendly & my pup loves her time here too.

Doug’s Seafood Cafe is a great spot for fresh and tasty seafood! I especially loved the grilled baby octopus salad—flavourful, perfectly cooked, and super satisfying. A great place to enjoy a casual meal by the water! 🌟

Here's a poem for Doug's Seafood Cafe: At Doug's Seafood Cafe, where gratitude flows free, Chips and seafood delight, a treat for you and me. The ocean's vastness, a soothing sight, A backdrop for joy, in the golden light. Dogs' paradise found, where they run and play, In the water's edge, on a sunny day. Seagulls soaring high, their cries so sweet, A symphony of nature, at our feet. The sun shines bright, on this coastal scene, Stillness fills the air, a peaceful dream. At Doug's Seafood Cafe, memories are made, With loved ones, laughter, and a meal that's not fake. #DougsSeafoodCafe #Gratitude #OceanViews #DogsParadise #Seagulls #Sunshine #Stillness #CoastalDelights #ai

Unfortunately not a good experience at Doug’s. Overpriced food with very small servings. Chips were soggy and cold. Should have gone to Fishmonger or Flinders. Won’t make the same mistake again. Attached is a photo of their largest serving of chips for $10.

We brought seafood lunch there today and had it across the road in Flinders Parade Park. While watching the beautiful views of the bay. The Cod and Calamari were so fresh, and big in quality. 10/10 for food and service.

We have been enjoying Doug's seafood for many, many years, and it's always a pleasure visiting the Sandgate promenades and having a bite to eat. One of my favourites for many years has always been the seafood basket with the option of grilled fish and salad. This time, I had a grilled octopus salad while my partner enjoyed a grilled scallops salad. We also ordered some calamari and chips. Everything has always been super tasty. This place is definitely a must-visit if you come to Sandgate. Highly recommended.

This is a popular fish & chip shop located in front of the water. Lots of street parking available. Second time visiting at lunch time. We visited at lunchtime on a Friday & it was very busy. There were no tables available at the time of ordering so the staff member serving me suggested getting take away. I ordered the family pack which serves 4 (we had a party of 3) as it was the best value. The food was freshly prepared, and our number was called out when it was ready. There are self-serve serviettes and salt & pepper in a holder by the entrance for take away orders. The bench seating facing the water freed up & so we got to eat our lunch there. Another option would be eating the food by the water as there are tables & bench seats available or byo picnic mat. There was too much food we couldn't finish it. We were happy with the quality & taste. The pack included 2 sauces & lemon wedges. Bonus: it's dog friendly so my sister brought her well behaved dog.

The restaurant provides a contemporary dining experience with an open kitchen where guests can enjoy quality seafood such as oysters, mudcrab, and prawns. Additionally, there are options for non-seafood lovers and kids, including fish and chips or sushi.
Wow. You have to spend an afternoon here enjoying the freshest seafood in Brisbane. We had a platter for 4 which would have fed 8! Beautiful. We also ordered extra fresh oysters and tempura prawns which were amazing. Live music in the afternoon. This is a great place and well worth a visit. Compliments to the chefs.

The food was fine. We got the hot and cold seafood platter, some of it was really good, some not so much. A bit hit and miss overall. The atmosphere is pretty much what you’d expect from a place in a strip mall. Nothing terrible, but nothing that really adds to the experience either. It did the trick though, some seafood on a Friday.
A. J — Google review
Service was lovely—friendly and smiley team who made us feel welcome. We ordered the seafood platter for two, and while some of the fresh seafood tasted great, the overall experience felt a bit inconsistent. The fried calamari in particular was bland and soggy, which really brought the platter down. For $130, we were expecting a bit more in terms of quality and balance. Not a bad experience, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for the price.
Monique S — Google review
Please change or at least filter your cooking oil regularly. A beautiful platter is destroyed by the chips which come out dark, hard, taste is disgusting and stale. Please serve us nice golden chips to go with the beautiful platters we purchase. Thank you.

Ordered our food together. My friends came out 25 minutes before mine did. Ended up watching him eat, then he had to watch me eat. He had to ask twice for cutlery, before giving up and going to find his own. My food finally arrived and was disgusting - the Barramundi mushy and mostly dark. My salad was ordered without dressing, but was coated in sesame dressing and I didn't eat it. The meal certainly not worth $38 and I only ate the handful of chips it came with. No one meal checked us at all. When we finally went to leave, a young man came to clear the table. I said it was disgusting and he said "go tell them over there", vaguely pointing at the bar? No one at the bar was interested in helping or assisting. Who were we supposed to complain to? Will never be back, this was the worst overall dining experience I've had in Brisbane.

I had some sashimi takeaway before and thought I would give it a try and get some platters for important family occasion. And what a success! I got the large sashimi platter (with uni add on), small sushi platter and unagi. And everything just tasted so fresh and… look at the presentation! The guests ended up complimenting me. Of course the price cannot be compared to the local small sushi shops, but the quality of the sashimi and the rice is different. I totally think they are worth every dollar I spent. Oh and with the sushi platter, I requested to minimise the amount of cucumber as some guests could not tolerate it, and Reef was accomodating. I found the online order was really easy too- just pick a date and time and organise it way ahead and that’s it! Definitely will be doing more takeaways of sashimi in the future

Chumley Warner's Traditional British Fish & Chips is a popular eatery in south-east Queensland that attracts British ex-pats and locals alike. Known for its authentic old-school chippy vibe, the restaurant offers a variety of classic dishes such as North Atlantic cod, haddock, plaice, and scampi. Customers can also enjoy handmade pies, mushy peas, curry sauce, and gravy. The establishment is praised for its solid portion sizes and fresh ingredients.
Great British fish and chips washed down with a pint, what more can you ask. Took the train out from Brisbane when visiting from Adelaide to try this and wasn't disappointed. I have missed Cod and proper chippy chips, this filled the void well. All topped off with some Old Speckled Hen which at $12 per pint is great value!

Wow it’s only took me 5 years to find the best fish and chip shop I’ve been in whilst being in Australia North Atlantic cod was to die for and cooked to perfection even on par with my favourite chippy back in the UK .. even the wife now understands why I have been moaning about the substandard fish here in Oz .. well worth the hour drive it took us from cedar vale to get there .. my new new go to for great fish and chips big shout out to all the staff your doing a great job . Range of British foods and flavors with great ingredients! The crispy fish and peas were great. Hot chips taste like the traditional UK seaside. Friendly staff made it even better. Definitely a hidden gem, I’ll be back for sure! The prices are a little high, so if they could be lower would be ideal :)

I don’t know what has happened recently but the food taste and quality has drastically changed. I have been buying fish and chips and pies etc from Chumneys for years and willingly pay the extra uber surcharge to get food delivered. The last few times the quality and taste has just been off, the last order was the worst food I have ever had delivered, the chips were half black because the black eyes of the potatoes hadn’t been removed before chipping, the chips tasted awful as though they were made from old and stale potatoes. There was no seasoning despite asking for seasoning to be added .. unfortunately seasoned or not the food was inedible and sadly the lot went in the bin. Please please go back to how you always used to be!

Nestled along the picturesque waterfront, Sandgate Fishmonger is a beloved gem among Brisbane's fish and chip shops. Renowned for its exceptional calamari—crispy, fresh, and perfectly tender—this eatery has garnered a loyal following. The menu features an array of seafood options like barramundi, cod, and snapper, all expertly cooked to highlight their quality. Each day brings a unique salad that promises to surprise your palate with refreshing flavors.
Absolutely loved our visit! The customer service was top-notch—friendly, welcoming, and even offered fresh water for our pup without us asking huge bonus points! The fish was beautifully fresh with perfectly crispy batter, and the chips were golden, crunchy, and delicious. Great location with a lovely vibe, and even though it was busy, our food came out quickly. Highly recommend!

There was hardly anything pleasant with the food we ordered. Ordered the Part Pack but forced us to have it crumbed and not battered (so backwards to limit people’s choice rather than enhance it). Most places give you the option of battery or crumbed regardless of ordered it in a pack or individually. The oil that was used left an undesirable flavour in everything. Chips were not nice at all- mushy, bland. Was really disappointed because a few people on FB recommended this place. They really need to get out more. Would like to point out that counter service was lovely.

The best G/F battered fish I have ever had. The chips were crispy and cooked to perfection. The food came out very quick and boy were they busy. We all commented on the quality of the food, thanks…. we will definitely be back.

It’s located at a convenient spot. We went there after peak lunch hour, there was still a queue. But we didn’t have to wait too long at all. Food was prepared at lightening speed, I went and sat down at the table, two minutes late, our name was called. We really enjoyed all the seafood with crumbed barramundi in particular, very fresh, nicely cooked! Chips had no salt seasoning, but we weren’t asked or advised about it either, very blend, also not the freshest, assuming they cooked a bunch and unfortunately we had the ones from the older batch.

Ate here today with a friend and our kids and had the absolutely best experience. It was our first time and we were totally WOWED. Super fast even though they were very busy and just the best service with super yummy food. The owner came out and offered the kids free ice-cream as well which they loved. Had the best experience and will totally be back here again. LOVED IT. The Calamari was the best I have had and fresh yummy salads and fish too.

I had the most gorgeous calamari burger 🍔 here today at Sandgate. The young staff member who took my order was very accommodating as this is a special order I made up myself. So fresh..yum. I phoned to order the burger and it was ready in 5 minutes. Lots of street parking available. The bay is right across the road with plenty of places to sit and enjoy your meal. Price is very reasonable, the shop is clean beyond belief and no seating available at this present COVID time. Social distancing is displayed clearly in the shop. The service is given with a friendly smile and conversation from the young and very well trained staff. Everything is fresh and perfectly cooked and presented. Grab a complimentary serve of their chicken salt...delicious in your chips. If you’re at Sandgate, make sure you visit Fishmonger and I promise you will not be disappointed.

A suburban delight. Food is always fresh and delicious. Oysters are perfect!! Chips are amazing. It really has the best seafood around. The new Greek menu is very good indeed… those Sheftalia sausages are truely spectacular. THANK YOU for being an awesome, family friendly place to eat. 🙏

Fish was flaky and fresh, served with a simple wedge of lemon. My mate went for the calamari, and it was tender without that rubbery bite. The chips could’ve used a bit more crisp, but flavour-wise, no dramas. Staff were friendly enough, though service was a touch slow for a not-so-busy afternoon. Prices were decent for what you get. Not the fanciest seafood joint, but it does the job if you’re after a casual meal without too much fuss.

We ordered three different types of fish: the monkfish special, whiting and snapper, along with a salad and the Cypriot sausage. They all came to the table at the same time cooked to perfection. Nestled along the iconic Brisbane River, Riverbar & Kitchen is a breezy waterfront restaurant offering inventive cocktails and creative global cuisine. With its alfresco dining and stunning views, it's the perfect spot for breakfast, afternoon drinks, or dinner under the stars. The menu caters to various dietary preferences including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options.
Pretty amazing birthday experience at a popular riverside location. Although they have a QR code system, they're happy to take an order at the counter (unlike some places..) Porkchops were genuinely awesome, most places screw these up. This one had a great char and was super juicy. Tiramisu was divine. Only complaint was that the ravioli was super oily, it was an oil based.. thing but not much balance. Cocktails were interesting and delicious!! This "Pink Floss" one was vodka based and very well mixed, coming from someone who isnt a big vodka fan. Staff were welcoming and helpful, when I asked for mayonaise they brought out a selection of dipping bowls for me to choose because they didnt have plain old mayo. Would come here again with friends.

Nice atmosphere and view of story bridge. The food was really good, the calamari was really good with the dip. The only downside was the wait time for the food. Also I ordered a coke zero, which is a simple drink, and took a looong time to come. Aside from that, it was a great value for the food and view
Gabriel T — Google review
Food was commercial and not overly tasty. Went for work gathering and had tapas. The amount of food for people was good but not all was enjoyable. Lacked serving spoons and some were not enjoyable. Understand that this comes down to choice from a coordination point of view. The location was great, and being on the river was spectacular. The toilets are shared with the public so there may be delays.
Deliah O — Google review
A nice location however sadly that doesn’t make up for the food or the service. The beef burger was pretty bland with an overwhelming taste of cheese and sauce but the patty was super dry and chips left begging for seasoning. To be fair, the chips were well cooked but were left begging for some salt and considering the cost of the meal, was overall disappointing. The pizza wasn’t amazing either with the outside crust quite nice but was undercooked in the centre. Despite the lack of flavour and being undercooked, the biggest problem was it was dripping in oil. The service was pretty dismal. Although all ordered at the same time, the drink arrived just in time for the final chip. At least it made it easy to wash down. The cleanliness was a bit of a problem but at least the birds got to enjoy one of the chips that the staff had dropped when serving. Overall my thoughts on Riverbar was it’s one of those restaurants that concentrated on location, want to charge people top dollar but end up being a complete disappointment.
Grant K — Google review
Sorry, we didn’t take any pictures. It’s a nice place with beautiful views, and the staff were lovely, especially the Brazilian waiters, who were super friendly. The service was quick, and the tables and overall setup were nice. That said, the food felt overpriced for the flavour. Nothing particularly special, so in the end you’re really paying more for the environment than the meal itself. It was a nice experience overall, but if we were just looking for good food, I wouldn’t choose this place again.

We had a wonderful experience at Riverbar and Kitchen this past weekend to celebrate my sister getting married. The atmosphere was incredible and the staff were a delight. The bride and groom received a free drink which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. The food was delicious. We had small children with us and the lovely staff ensured they were looked after and entertained. Great vibes all round and highly recommend a visit here!

Great spot on the river for brunch. Prices are reasonable, the service was fast and friendly, and there is plenty of space, we had a large booking that grew the day before and they were happy to accomodate on a Sunday morning. The banoffee waffles were super tasty!

Amazing river views. The restaurant itself was open breezy and had great decor. The menu was nice & easy. I can recommend the sand crab linguine & the prosciutto melon & mozzarella salad. Good cocktail menu and prices were good for city prices. Only negative was the chairs… the ones we sat on were camp style foldable and they were kind of slack.,, so it made you feel like you needed to sit on a cushion…. It made you feel like you were sitting too low beneath the table.

The Tapinos family brings over three decades of expertise in crafting delightful dishes from the ocean, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes every visit special.
This is always the freshest and best fish and chips I’ve found. It’s consistent, oil is changed regularly and the quality is always top notch. I always go for the flake it’s thick cut and never dries out. Chips are massive, in the photo is a jumbo serve and was too much. Salads always nice and crispy and towards the end of the meal each kid was delivered a complimentary fresh fruit platter. Good Ol fashioned service 🤙🏽

I’ve been making the 40-minute drive each way to Costa just for their seafood, and it’s always worth it. One of the best fish & chip in QLD. Service is great too. Highly recommend. But we had tried seafood basket before, not as good. The usual fish & chip, beer batter chip, sweet potato chip and salads are yummy. It's nice if them to give out complimentary fruits too.

Beautiful discovery. We went for Barramundi & Snapper Dinner meals. Absolutely amazing and fresh fish, excellent chips and beautiful selection of salads. The portions were huge. Best thing that seperated this from other places was unlimited selection of sauces from the fridge. They even gave us complimentary fresh fruit at the end. This level of service is not available at many places in Brisbane.

Oysters are delicious and fresh. but Fried oysters are average. The meal for two is quite large. French fries and fried shrimp are the best, and the squid rings, scallops, and fried fish are also OK. More lemon juice would be better.

Stopped in at Costas Seafood Café for a quick bite and was really impressed. The fish was fresh, the NZ Perch I ordered was fresh, perfectly battered, and cooked just right—not oily or heavy. The large size portion of chips were crisp and golden, and portion sizes generous. Friendly service with a smile, and the place was clean and inviting. Great value for money too. If you're after classic, well-done seafood in a relaxed setting, Costas hits the mark. Will definitely be back!

My first time at this fish and chip shop. Can say they don't have the best potato scallops I've had. The seafood sticks were good and the whiting was pretty nice. Everything else was ok, service was ok I did ask for chicken salt on the order but it ended up coming out with regular salt. On the upside if you dine in you don't pay for sauces which is different.

Seafood restaurant
The Kingfisher Seafood Cafe is a relaxed dining spot known for its hearty breakfasts, burgers, and fish 'n' chips. The cafe has gained a strong reputation for serving the best fresh, locally sourced seafood in Brisbane. Their menu features Australian Barramundi, Snapper meals with salads and homemade tartare sauce, grilled halloumi, gourmet burgers, and vegetarian-friendly options. The covered courtyard adds to the laid-back atmosphere of this popular eatery.
Great place for both coffee and fish and chips! Service is fast and friendly. Covered outdoor seating in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Prices are very good and also transparent, meaning that they don't try to sneak in any hidden card surcharges on the back end. Price you see on the menu is exactly what you pay; as it should be in Australia. This place came highly recommend by a mate, and he was right! Only downside is they don't have any nondairy milk options for the coffee. Having an almond or oat milk option would make the place perfect. I did enjoy my mocha latte and my beer battered cod fish and chips! I will be back for more soon.

Just got ripped off for a fish burger lunch. Tiny piece of flake in a bun. $15.80. Servers attitude was also not pleasant. First bite of the burger, bun is days old stale. Heating up old buns does not disguise the stale state of the bun. Picture of the tiny portion, and the stale bun. 🤮 Very disappointing. No surprise the owner has not yet reached out in explanation or offer to refund or replace.

Fish is nice. I am wondering if the batter has cumin or the recycled oil used - this "dark brown overcooked crispy cumin" batter interpretation of fish is an acquired taste. Chips - no way it matches those further north - and it's not golden brown rather bronze brown... if you get my hint..... vinegar is not on the regular vocabulary at this joint..... and the kitchen has to get some white vinegar for you or offer you balsamic vinegar as alternative - so it truly is a seafood (not fish and chips) cafe

The best seafood in the western suburbs! The food is always amazing! Great value, delicious, the staff are so friendly And service is great. Beautiful local community. Our go to when we want to eat out! Both the burgers and the fish are so tasty!

Went here last weekend with a close friend after a walk by the beach. We grabbed a couple of fish and chips packs. The fish was fresh and flaky, and the batter wasn’t too oily, which I appreciated. Chips were golden and crunchy – a bit too generous on the portion though, we couldn’t finish it all. The tartare sauce was surprisingly good too. Didn’t have to wait long even though the place was a bit busy. Seating was basic, just your typical fish and chip shop setup. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. Pricing’s fair for the area. Not the best I’ve ever had, but it definitely hit the spot on a chilled afternoon. Wouldn’t mind dropping in again.

Fish is always fresh and cooked perfectly. Excellent chips! Good calamari and prawns. You can BYO when dining in. Staff are lovely. Portions are small for the price though, meals that come with “a salad” don’t meet the portion for a single serve of vegetables.
Tara H — Google review
Very oily crumbed fish. Oil oozed out when my fork and knife went in. 0/5. Fish was tasteless because all I could taste was deep fry oil. Chips overcooked - brown and dry. 0/5 Nice accommodating staff fitted us in at 735pm at a table. 5/5

This wasn't the first visit, and definitely won't be the last. We loved every bit of it. A great hidden little gem offering one of the nicest fish and chips in Brisbane. They have a great variety of seafood, burgers, drinks and coffee available. Take away as well as dine in options.

Went to this fish shop for the first time in my life with a friend we spent over $100 and got a complimentary sources and accompaniments with our meal which was very very kind of the restaurant owner! The food was also extremely tasty and tender the crumbed fish was very crispy and the grilled fish was Very tender! I highly recommend this to anyone that is passing by or in the area that wants to have good quality seafood and to be well looked after!!

I just brought my mum to this place, and they have the best seafood! There are so many varieties, and the food was wonderful. One of the best dishes I had was the coconut relish snapper, although the garlic prawns were also delicious. I really enjoyed their live music. It's the best place eversuch a gem!

Ordered the GF platter for two. I understand gluten-free food can differ in taste and texture, but I’ve never seen/had anything like this. All the crumbs just fell off like shells; might as well order them grilled instead. The color just didn’t look right; perhaps the fryer was not hot enough.

Definitely the freshest seafood around, and for a great price too! They have a great atmosphere, everything is clean and there’s a table with extra things like cold water, clean cups, cutlery. We will definitely come back again!

I came here straight from Russia, Vladivostok. In 2022 I had a chance to find the best fish and chips place in Brisbane and Sunshine coast area, that was my starting point and I tried about 30-40 places over 3 months and finally came to conclusion that the first one was the best. 5 stars! Best sea food salad and calamari! Another addition from 2025, a few years later. The place is awesome, now it looks even prettier than before with new design. Portions are huge and a price is very very reasonable! I approve and will come back every time I have this opportunity! ❤️

Blue Ocean Seafood is a local eatery known for its wide variety of battered, grilled, and crumbed seafood options. It's highly regarded for its fresh seafood, light batter, and perfectly cooked chips. The menu also includes burgers and steak rolls. Despite its unassuming appearance, the cafe offers excellent customer service and a relaxed dining experience. Regular customers praise the crumbed snapper as a standout dish.
I had the pleasure of dining at one of the finest seafood establishments I have ever visited. The portion sizes were exceptionally generous, and the taste and texture of the dishes were truly perfected. The staff were remarkably friendly, and the atmosphere was both welcoming and enjoyable. I ordered the grilled prawns and battered cod accompanied by spicy wedges. Every item was excellently prepared and exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others—it offers outstanding value for money and serves top-quality food.

We asked for our chips with extra chicken salt, extra crunchy, this is the outcome. Ordered the vege burger with NO Haloumi no butter and Lo and behold, there’s cheese on it that’s not even on the menu?? I just paid near $35 for this. Told 15 minutes there in 12 and it was already bagged. Inedible burger, chips are hard to differ between the soggy cardboard box they come in, waste of money. Wouldn’t recommend

Very good quality fish and chips! I’m sure that if you come here you won’t be disappointed with the food quality. The fish and chip pack for two is an excellent size without being ridiculous. Certainly one of the better fish and chips places in Brisbane. 4 stars because the customer service can be awkward at times but it shouldn't put you off.

I had the Fisherman’s Basket and the Family Pack — it was absolutely amazing! The fish was succulent and perfectly crispy. I’m a big chips girl, and by far, those chips were some of the best I’ve had — golden, crunchy, and full of flavor. The team was friendly and provided great service, which made the experience even better. Thank you for the delicious food and wonderful service!

Sick of ordering a lamb burger and being disappointed with what you got and how much it cost you? Get yourself to Blue Ocean stat! Came here after finding the Patisserie next door was closed and had a lamb burger meal. It exceeded every expectation I had and epitomises what a lamb burger should be. Juicy, well seasoned, included capsicum (instead of it being an extra), a toasted bun. It was the little things like the chips being extra crispy and the lettuce being cut up so your burger doesn't get all over you as you enjoy it. Will be back!

Fast food restaurant
Seafood Town is a popular spot located on the Woody Point waterfront, offering locally caught seafood. The restaurant has transformed over the past decade from a cozy fish and chips shop to a modern eatery with good and fast service. It's also conveniently close to an awesome playground for kids to enjoy while you savor your meal. Visitors have praised the juicy and succulent cod, friendly service, and immaculate dining area.
Stopped for lunch this particular day ( Friday ). Ordered 2 crumbed cods, calamari with chips, and half a dozen of their giant oysters. The calamari is just melted in your mouth, tender and well cooked😋👌. The oysters are fresh, you have 3 already fill you up. The cod and the chips are OK too. The staff lady who served us was very nice, polite and friendly. She packed our oysters to take home with ice👌. We like her! We didn't catch her name but the receipt mentioned : served by manager? She is Asian looking lady. We came back after a walk to the jetty and grabbed their ice creams, the same lady served us👌 Over all the experience was pleasant. Plenty of seats inside and outside. Parking is available off street. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. Highly recommend this place😋👌

As lovely a place for frozen fish in one of the world's last and greatest fresh fisheries as you can get. Tops for honesty. No, none of the fish is fresh (but it was all defrotsed today 😉). Please lightly grill my coral trout (unlikely Australian from the very small fillets). You mean, you want it undercooked? Um, ok, yes, please. Nevertheless, such baby fillets are near impossible to undercook (by which h I mean "just cooked," you know, before it takes on all the appeal of overcooked chicken breast). It wasn't badly overcooked (tip to the/any cook if you're reading this...all cooked proteins continue to cook for 5 minutes after they come off the heat). Why 3*? The chips were as good as any factory chip can be cooked. I resent how addicted I was to them. Peroni 0.0% beer available is a bonus, too. Super duper friendly team, under severe pressure. Gee, I wish I could stay that calm, like, ever.

Absolutely spectacular fish and chips! I had the grilled salmon, which was a large portion perfectly cooked. The chips were fresh and light. There was a choice of garden or Greek salad. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, in a cafeteria-style setting. This place is VERY popular - on weekends and holidays, there is always a queue out the door.

Nice location right opposite to the beach, food are very fresh. The price is actually quite cheap compared to other fish and chips. Environment is very comfortable, cosy and clean. Only the chicken nuggets bit dry but all seafood very worth to come

Stumbled upon this place by accident today, and grabbed the hot seafood for two pack for <$35. It was delicious. The quality of the seafood is top tier and the flavours are amazing. Getting take away and crossing the road to sit by the water, this was truly a memorable lunch.

Seafood Town never disappoints! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the fresh aroma of the sea and a laid-back, welcoming vibe. The staff are friendly, quick to offer recommendations, and always make sure you’re taken care of. The seafood here is as fresh as it gets — the shrimp, lobster, and oysters were all incredible. The flavors were bold, and the dishes were cooked to perfection. I also loved the variety of sauces and sides that complemented the seafood beautifully. Whether you’re a seafood connoisseur or just looking for a great meal, Seafood Town is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Amazing service and the food for a large group of 20 people was amazing! The kids all received their meal first as we had asked and then all the adults with everyone impressed with the meal. Well done to the team. Many of us said that the fish was the best we have ever had. The location is stunning and atmosphere is perfect. There is nothing more we could have asked for in choosing this venue and location for our family celebration. We are very grateful to the team who bring this together.

Gentleman at the front door was amazing and greeted us welcomingly. Food came really quick and was delicious. Ladies who were serving ice cream were amazing. However was greeted poorly when ordering food at the bar and got ID when only ordering food? Also went up to the bar and bought a bottle of water and got ID again. I don’t know about anyone else but that seems a bit excessive when i’m just ordering a water and food?

What a beautiful hotel, the service and staff are very attentive to your every need. My wife has a shellfish allergy and they cooked her meal specially. The hotel is huge and needs to be fully explored, there are multiple eating rooms and options, an ice creamery, pizza bar, oyster bar, indoor and out door sections, at night they set up fire pits everywhere and it was so cozy. Live music, great food and great company. Only criticism is they don’t have a large wine list, very limited.

Everything is over priced at the main pub. Pots of beer are over 1$ more than others. Pool table is in the worst condition of any pub I've been in. Paid 29$ for a pepperoni pizza that was the worst pizza I've ever had. Positives. Staff are nice. Location is nice. Oyster bar has decent priced snacks. Be awesome if you could get a little side salad with the fish and chips.

Is a nice restaurant tables not too close together beautiful view. Is in a quieter part of the park as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had lunch an entree of half dozen natural oysters were fresh very nice. Then had the beer batter fish and chips. The batter was thin and crispy the whole dish was tasty.

Overall great location. Stunning view. Food was ok but not great. The crispy pork belly scallops weren’t crispy at all. The pork belly was very soft. The yabbies were great and cooked well but spicy! Not sure what was spicy in the dish as it wasn’t titled as spicy but it packed a punch. Mussels were really small so wouldn’t recommend as a main meal. Beware of the skewer in the prawn. I went to bite into mine and couldn’t cut through and wasn’t warned of the skewer which I thought was really bad. The steak was soggy and not good sadly. Everything was presented great but was a let down.

Amazing lunch experience and incredible value with First Table. Professional and super friendly service by Patrick. And wow food was amazing and the best we’ve had in Brisbane! Absolutely delicious Scallops & Pork Belly and Yabbies entrees. And then the Reef and Beef mains were to die for. Had lunch yesterday to celebrate my sisters wedding - requested a table closer to the front so the kids weren’t moving throughout restaurant when wanting to access the grassy area. Was told on arrival “it’s a request”. It was such an obvious statement but the delivery was short, dismissive and with no effort to accommodate. We arrived 10min early and were seated which we appreciated however then did not see anyone for 15 minutes not even for table water. When we received service it was the absolute bare minimum- water was delivered to table, we orders drinks and food. Then over an hour till we were served mains. We had to go to the bar to order more drinks as we didn’t see anyone for the entire meal other than to deliver water (first time) and deliver the food. No one checked in on us to see how the meal was or if we wanted more drinks. My meal then arrived with avocado that was all spoiled. I was incredibly disappointed with the overall experience considering we chose this venue for a celebration. View was great. But otherwise would not return unfortunately

Welcome to Tempest Seafood Restaurant and Teppanyaki Grill, a Japanese inspired seafood restaurant located on the beautiful Scarborough Boat Harbour. Here you will be treated to an international culinary experience, with chefs trained in Japan who know exactly how to make delicious seafood dishes. Enjoy a glass of champers while you dine on authentic wood fired pizzas.
Had a great time just dining for a quiet lunch on my own, overlooking the marina. The Kilpatrick oysters were fantastic. Garlic bread is always good. Had the seafood basket, which was cooked perfectly and I loved the couple of seared scallops. Had the dessert of the day, which was Creme Brule at the time and I had an overwhelming urge to pickup the bowl and lick it clean. My waitress (may have been Matilda?) was very well spoken, bubbly, polite and beautiful, which just made me want to stay all day. Tried to take some photos, but I just kept forgetting about photos and mostly just have photos of half empty plates!

It’s been a few years since I’ve been here so was keen to try it again. We had lunch for 6 people on Sunday. All of the food we had was 5 stars. Well presented, perfectly cooked and flavoursome, and was all served on time and 6 meals together. There is clearly a good chef and team in the kitchen here, well done. However, the service was a bit patchy at the start and we had to wait a while for someone to come and take our initial drinks order. Thankfully a young man who was working in the bar noticed us and came over, and thereafter we were largely looked after. Atmosphere wise it’s lovely being on the deck near the water, but it’s not a good vibe walking past the inside restaurant which looks like it is a partially used function room nowadays. I really wanted to give this review 5 stars based on the food alone and the helpful service of one individual, but for a restaurant in this price bracket things needed to be a bit more on point if I’m honest and compare it to other 5 star restaurants. I will definitely be back again though, hope to try the new Alfresco area which looks good.

Always exceeding in everything. The view of the marina gives us that openness and healing atmosphere under any weather. The staff were very friendly and explained all in a professional manner. Not to mention the food. This wasn't the first time we had visited this place, we have tried a few different menu. All including the desserts were superb. Unfortunately, we have not tried the Tepanyaki yet. I didn't realised we had to book ahead for that. The staff kindly told us that it usually has two times.

5 stars to James that was amazing waiter, kind and very attentive. Food was average,I expected bit more honestly as prices are quite high and being a seafood restaurant the fish should not be dry ! When we walked in at 5 pm on a Monday we asked to seat on the deck next to sea so our kids (as was their birthday )could watch the boats ,the pregnant lady denied saying that they were all booked but obviously they weren’t As when we left at 6.15 pm some table were still available! Anyway thanks to James and the other guy that made our experience bit enjoyable.

Fresh oysters, most food is directly from the trawlers you see on the background. I’d recommend making a booking for peak times (inc lunch on weekends). Ask for a table near the water - it’s a nice view. The weekend musicians are quite talented and not the usual obnoxious loud variety. The food is wonderful, moderately priced. The hot and cold seafood platter for 2 is moderately priced but fresh with enough for 3. There’s some great wines - I’d recommend the French Blanc de Blanc to go with the oysters. The staff are very fast in service. Overall I’d recommend the venue and worth a drive. There’s a nearby seafood market and takeaway (Morgan’s) owned by the same family which is great for high quality fresh take-away seafood too!

Food was fabulous! Service was exceptional! I did give four stars overall as there was no disability parking in the car park. It was fortunate we arrived there early so were able to choose a car spot but still had to navigate getting in/out of the car. For example, we had to pull the car out of the car spot so it was easy for mum to get back in the car. However, that being said, it started pouring with rain all of a sudden and one of the staff came out with an umbrella so mum didn’t get wet. That was going the extra mile and it was greatly appreciated! There are ramps to access the restaurant and enough room within the restaurant to accommodate a wheelchair. We enjoyed ourselves and it’s the best restaurant we have been to in terms of food and service. Highly recommend!

Amazing fish and chips. Burgers are to die for old school burger shop feel packed with flavours and fillings. Chips were just so on point and add in gravy and peas it hit the spot. Fish was HUGE and everything was just so well cooked and premium. BEST fish and chips on the peninsula IMO. I didn’t get a photo of the burger as it was just too good.

Tucked along a lively street in Redcliffe, this old-school fish and chips shop is buzzing with charm and the cheerful hum of upbeat music that never seems to stop. It’s the kind of place that locals keep coming back to — not just for the nostalgia, but because the food hits the spot every time. The fish is always freshly fried, golden and crisp on the outside, with tender, flaky goodness inside. Chips are piping hot and generously portioned, and the best part? The prices are wonderfully down-to-earth. Even when there’s a crowd (and there often is), it’s worth the short wait — the team keeps things moving, and you can tell they know their way around a fryer. Seating is simple, with a few shared tables out front. If you can’t snag a spot, there are benches nearby where you can enjoy your meal while soaking in the laid-back coastal vibe. It’s a slice of classic seaside Australia — no fuss, just good food and good energy. Perfect for a casual lunch or dinner after a beach walk, and a must-try if you’re after an authentic local feed in Redcliffe.

Great Chippy! The battered code was delicious and perfect crunchy batter. Loved the Beatles playing in the background while soaking up the sea air. GF available and kids meal options. Well priced and friendly staff.
Victoria B — Google review
This place serves good old-fashioned British-style fish and chips, complete with malt vinegar, salt, and tartar sauce. We ordered the battered cod, which was super flaky and perfectly cooked—not oily at all. The chips were amazing, and the mushy peas, calamari, and prawns were all cooked to perfection, just as you'd hope for. Everything came wrapped in paper bags, adding to the casual, hearty experience, and I absolutely loved it. They also have a great selection of beer and other drinks to choose from. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food, service, and staff was excellent. If you're by the sea and craving authentic British fish and chips, this is the place to go. Well done to the team!

Locals kept telling me to go to this fish and chips shop. It's got a charming English design and is always packed. I ordered the battered cod and chips with salad, which was nice and fresh. Next time I'll try the seafood basket and the huge burgers.

Have loved this place in the past but today was different. We ordered cod. I don't know what this fish was but it wasn't cod. It was very oily and strong tasting with a brown tinge colour in flesh. At $15 a piece, I was incredibly disappointed. I couldn't eat it. We bought 2 pineapple fritters as they are delicious here - once again, they were not as good as previous. The man who served us was lovely. I would have said something but it was a very busy time. This is usually the sign of a great place so not sure whether it's changed ownership recently??

Last night we went to Yabbey Road for dinner. We have been here a few times before with no issue other than the long wait. This time however we recieved literally 15 chips in our kids meal which was quite disappointing (it also had 4 fish bites). Upon talking staff who then got the manager about the very minimal amount of chips, she rudely told me as of two weeks ago they minimised the amount and that's just how it is now. Safe to say I will not be going back. Not only is this ridiculous, how she handle the situation was disappointing. A kind man came over to us after the ordeal and gave us a ticket and said he had bought us some more chips as he agreed this was shocking. Lovely atomsphere on the water and used to be great but value for money is not worth it! The wait is always 45 minutes when they always tell you 20 minutes. Everything i have been there for dinner this has happened. Photo below of our 15 chips!

Fish and chips takeaway
Morgans Seafood Market & Takeaway in Scarborough is Queensland's largest seafood market, offering a wide range of live and locally sourced seafood. They have a sushi and oyster bar, as well as ample indoor and outdoor seating areas. The market is known for its incredibly fresh seafood, brought in by trawlers from the Bay. In addition to their fish & chips and fresh seafood market, they also offer occasional seafood buffets.
Fresh fish and seafood market with a take away area for prepared dishes. Delicious food and fast service. The octopus was well prepared and seasoned. Seafood salad also great.

Disappointing, have been coming here for years. Lovely atmosphere with a great view and wonderful entertainment by a local solo artist. Shame I can’t have the same option on the food. Food was terrible, in-fact… we couldn’t eat it as it was not fresh, but frozen and heated up. Portion size was also very disappointing. A seafood basket for two that would nearly feed a child. When asking the staff about quality, they just said that’s it is what it is. Management had an even worse attitude, wouldn’t even speak with me about it. Pic below is a sample of the prawn cutlet in the basket. Wow is an understatement. Poor customer service all round!

The Fisherman’s Basket has really gone downhill. I’ve been buying it since I moved to Brisie — for more than three years now — back when it cost $14.80, and I used to get it every 2–3 weeks. Today, I asked for extra crispy chips with my order but didn’t get them AGAIN🤮, and today's fish was totally undercooked. On top of that, the tartar sauce seemed expired — I could tell by the overly sour taste and printed date on it 🤯 No more again. Quality lose. Highly DO NOT recommend this establishment anymore!
Dmytro M — Google review
Morgan’s has a cool, laid-back vibe with stunning water views that really set the scene. It’s the kind of spot where the atmosphere is half the experience. As for the food, it was decent—just what you’d expect from classic fish and chips. The calamari was tender and flavourful, and the fish itself was good. The chips, however, were a letdown: plain and a bit soggy. We also ordered oysters, and unfortunately one arrived with a chipped shell still inside, which took away from the enjoyment. Overall, Morgan’s is worth it for the setting and views, but the food was a mix of hits and misses.
Monique S — Google review
We had a 3 generation lunch. Each generation was very happy with their meals. The under cover outside dining area was very pleasant, with some of the local trawlers in the background. The QR code ordering system was very easy to use. 👍👍

The place is super efficient & organised. We came on a Sunday ( school holidays & long weekend ) lunch time, the queue was massive but only took 10 mins to order and 12 mins to pick up the order. Fresh seafood was excellent too. Will come again 🦞 😋

I have been to Morgan’s at Scarborough Qld this morning, I called in & bought Cooked Tiger prawns, absolutely no flavour, Morgan’s need to stop Thawing cooked prawns in fresh water, as they are washing the salt out. What Morgan’s can do is, Thaw out in a salt water brine. Sick of wasting money there. This is what we are doing so, we can have prawns with flavour. Salt over prawns, Ice on top, so the salt is able to go back into the prawns.

What happened to this place lol? If you are keen for rubbery fish and fishy prawns, here is the place for it. We came here four or five years ago, had absolute best seafood but not anymore… took family here only to disappoint everyone. Dinning environment was not quite nice outdoor. Waiting queue is long and service staff are okay (during lunch time).

The Beachmere Hotel is an affordable, informal lodging option with a pub and eatery [1]. It offers accessible entrances and parking for individuals using wheelchairs [7]. Situated at 2 James Rd, Beachmere, Queensland 4510, Australia [10], this establishment boasts amiable staff and a delightful ambiance. The venue appears relatively modern and features a sizable playground for children.
Went there for dinner and we all loved it! The food was great and also the drinks! Loved Tuesday’s deal! Chicken schnitzel for 15$! Great deal for the whole family 😊

We have not been to this venue for quite awhile. We both ordered the special of the day which was Chilli Prawn Pasta. We both agreed it was not a great meal, pasta, prawns, tomato, onion, mushrooms and a load of the same spices. Neither could finish the dish, both of us leaving over half a meal. I have come away with my taste buds looking for something else, also feeling as though I have not had a meal.
Amanda P — Google review
Food was pretty average. Chicken Schnitzel was a frozen heart-shaped one like you buy from Woollies or Coles, so a bit disappointing. I had Avocado & Hollandaise sauce on top. The Avo was old, brown & overly soft. They tried to hide the brown bits with the sauce. My salad had no dressing, so I had to go ask for some. Rump Steak was overcooked. Asked for Medium & received Well Done. I'm not sure I would bother to drive that far off the main road again.

We visited Beachmere Hotel and ordered two King Avocado Schnitzels. The schnitzels were cooked well and consistent, which was a nice touch. The salad, however, was a bit disappointing as it came with no dressing. On the positive side, the chips were perfectly cooked and a highlight of the meal. The staff were polite but seemed a bit flat, with very few smiles throughout our visit. Service was decent, but it could’ve been more engaging. The location of the hotel is great, and there’s plenty of parking available, which is a definite plus. Overall, a good experience with room for improvement in the service and salad presentation. Would still consider returning.

Dropped in here yesterday to find a well situated, lovely pleasant and friendly atmosphere suited to singles, couples or families. Quite a large dining area that is casual and laid back. Great kids play areas available as well. All the usuals here eg sports bar, outdoor seating, gaming room. The meals are hotel quality and reasonably priced and the serving is quite plentiful. They also cater to the best of their ability for folk with dietary issues. They also cater for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. There is a ramp available into the dining area and the venue is situated on the one level. The one thing I felt was quite below standard was the pina colada I ordered. It tasted like weak pineapple juice and I could not finish it. Bathroom was dated but clean. Overall we were ok and were happy with this venue as a quick lunch stop.

Today was the first time I've been to the Beachmere Hotel in nearly 10 - 12 years. The food was great and the staff always greeted us with a smile and positive attitude. However, be warned they have got a hefty, nasty, greedy surcharge! I inserted my card, not tap & waved, & I still got charged! I gotta say, I won't be coming back for lunch or dinner in a great hurry that's for sure.

Staff gorgeous friendly. The venue must be fairly new it has a lovely atmosphere and a big children's playground. The special I had seafood with clams and prawns was a bit light on with 4 small prawns and 6 clams the size of a 5 cent piece. But the meal was extremely tasty But when the service is excellent I will definitely visit again

This charming venue offers an inviting dining experience, featuring a menu filled with fresh seafood, gourmet burgers, and modern Australian dishes. Guests can choose between indoor and outdoor seating to savor their meals while basking in the refreshing sea breeze—ideal for everything from leisurely brunches to sunset dinners.
Excellent venue, the food here is delicious whether it be from the restaurant, the fish and chippery or the cafe. Wonderful views to sit, relax, eat and enjoy a beer or wine in a building that has so much history. Such a shame that the local council is closing the entire pavilion permanently as they consider it is too old and won't spend any money on it, truthfully it wouldn't take much. Disgraceful comes to mind.

Pretty good food, big portions and friendly service with a great view of Suttons Beach. They get really busy and popular among the locals especially on the weekend, so best to book your table before you go.

It’s lovely to see this previously under utilised location set up with good Cafe finally. The new owners have made it so much more comfortable and welcoming. We dropped in for afternoon tea and ordered coffee, teas, beer, banana bread, carrot cake, burgers, fish and chips. All the serving size were very generous and the food was good. Service was quick too. This is a really lovely spot to have a meal as you can also enjoy a very pleasant walk along the waterfront, go for a swim and the kids would love all the playground facilities.
A L — Google review
The portions are somewhat out of whack. The calamari even though it was a starter size was extremely small in comparison to most places. The kids Calamari had 2 small rings with some chips more salad than anything else. My nephew gets the kids calamari basically everywhere we go, never had he been served only 2 pieces!! We had to order him a bowl of chips as he was still hungry and he isn’t a big eater. My daughter had the chicken wings and they on the other hand were a large portion and they were very good! The service was also great the girl that served us was wonderful she was complete flat out seemed to be the only one taking orders for the large section but she still had a smile on her face. Unfortunately we left quite underwhelmed with what we got for what we paid. A mix review really wasn’t terrible but wouldn’t hurry back.

Location is amazing. The scenery and walks surrounding it are a must. Pavilion itself is nice and staff are friendly. Drinks are resonably priced however, the 'loaded sweet potato fries' were extremely overpriced and were not 'loaded.

This was the most bland, dry and rubbery chicken schnitzel I’ve ever eaten. The chips had literally no seasoning and were tasteless. Ate half of it and left. Would get a better meal for half the price at any local pub. Never coming here again. Not to mention the loud and obnoxious drunk people. Horrible restaurant experience. I would rate 0 stars if I could.

Good fish and chips, but the picnic box was not great value in my opinion. Antipasto box for 4 ppl was $90. Probably could have put the same together from woolies for half that.

Easily the best f&c in the Redlands! Every meal we've had here has been exceptional quality, the fish is fresh, crispy batter if you choose it and those new garlic butter chips are to die for!!

We had lunch at this lovely board walk cafe / restaurant at Raby Bay. It is a very relaxed marina area in Cleveland with many apartments surrounding the moorings. With a good number of restaurants offering a variety of food, we chose Samson Fish Seafood and were not disappointed. The food we ordered at the counter was brought to our outdoor table by courteous and friendly staff. It was excellent and very enjoyable. The atmosphere and area was perfect on the nice sunny day we had.

The best fish and chips I've ever had. Always fresh. Even the salad is so fresh. Can tell they change the oil regularly and fry to perfection. They have apparently been the only restaurant in Raby Bay that hasn't changed or left and I can see why. Look at the pictures attached, the plates and portions are so huge they take up half the table! I couldn't finish all of my plate and neither could my partner. Great family run business that never disappoint. Try it for yourself, any bad reviews on here seem to be mostly unreasonable or more to the story.

It was little pricy but the fish tasted amazing. Chips could be better. Salad was decent too. Definitely would recommened to anyone coming to Cleveland and want some fish and chips.

Went here for takeaway lunch today. Had number 24. After they served number 27/28, asked the girl who took my order where number 24 was. She looked blankly then said, I'll find out for you. Another 5 minutes and she brought out half my order. Somehow she managed to drop 1 serve of fish of the order before I paid. Asked if I number waiting while they cooked the other. Well, I did. People should really listen when they're serving customers. Will not return as their meals have been getting worse over the years I've been going there. This is my final straw.

Nice fish and chip shop, beautiful location and it was very quiet between 11-12 on a Saturday. Great portion, fish tasted great and comes in 1 big piece. Medium chips was too much for 2 of us, ended up taking some home. Price is ok considering the location.

Fish Boy Hawthorne is a renowned fishmonger in Brisbane, known for its high-quality produce and award-winning fish and chips. Located in the inner eastern suburb of Brisbane, this contemporary fish and chip shop offers a modern twist on the classic dish. Customers praise the crunchy, golden, well-salted chips and the crisp yet succulent fish. The menu boasts a variety of seafood options including coral trout, fresh oysters, calamari, snapper, cod, and haloumi.
I have to say this is probably the BEST fish and chips I’ve ever had. It’s good to see a good Greek fish and chip shop in our local area. Very polite and great selection of fish, I had the coral trout & fresh oysters and they were both 10/10. The kids got calamari and it was also good. Very generous chip portions and the seafood salad was fresh. I’ll be back and tell everyone if they want fish and chips the new place is Fish Boy.

Me, my family, and friends came from Sydney to enjoy the Melbourne culture and beautiful sights. After doing some looking into where we could all eat, Fish Boy’s menu and location caught my eye, with their stunning diversity of fish offered and a wide variety of customisable options. Once arriving (from a 10min walk away from the Hawthorne ferry terminal), we had all our orders taken and because of our larger group, the owner Nick personally offered us more indoor seating in his dessert shop (highly recommend!) By the time all of us settled down everybody was served. Incredibly reasonable prices and the food was nothing like any seafood restaurant I have had before, with generous sizing of all their items. To anyone visiting, living or simply interested, I highly recommend dropping by “Fish Boy Hawthorne” and trying the Seafood Salad. Thank you Nick and the crew for such a wonderful experience!!!

Came with family and friends from Sydney for a holiday at Gold Coast. My brother looked online for a restaurant in Hawthorn after reaching by a ferry and Fish Boy was the first one that caught his eye. Owner, Nick, made sure everyone was happy with what they got, (despite the variety of food restrictions and preferences our 12 people group have!) Customer service was great and everyone loved their meals. Best fish and chips we've had anywhere + great vegetarian options on the menu. We wish we could've tried the gelato and churros from their dessert section but we were too stuffed from the generous portions. Highly recommend the fish box and halloumi burger for vegetarians. As well as the beautifuly fresh Greek and seafood salad. This place is super affordable and will make sure you're fully satisfied with your food. I'd also like to mention they have both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a clean toilet space outside the restaurant room for your comfort. Thanks Nick for your great food and care, we'll be telling all our friends about your restaurant!

Terrific seafood We had a wonderful Friday night dinner at this newcomer to the Bulimba/Hawthorne dining scene! There are a lot of options on the menu and we enjoyed all of our selections. Big thumbs up for the pacific oysters, calamari, snapper, cod and haloumi! Our meals were cooked and presented beautifully, the prices were very reasonable and the service was friendly and efficient. On a night with a storm about to greet us, there were still a few people out wanting Pelican's Nest; Already a promising start. The staff were polite, friendly & helpful. Even when I went back to order drinks & apologised for the inconvenience, they mentioned it's no worries, that drinks are on a separate order anyway. 😊 There was a table available under the covers just out front as the storm rumbled over & we were nicely protected from the rain. The meals were perfect for us. The works burger was fresh & full for my Husband. The chicken slider was just my size but would you believe there were too many chips! I ordered extra calamari thinking the kids meal might be small but I had to give away the last of the chips! The calamari wasn't too chewy or soft either! (I had to share that too!)

I guess I should have researched this place a little more. I had read some good reviews, but they were mostly about take-away coffees and views etc. There was never much said about the meals... and probably for good reason. We had Smashed Avo (Guacamole) and Wagyu Savory Mince. First thing that was "Meh" was the staff attitude and ordering process. Seriously, if you don't want to be working on a Saturday morning in hospitality, find another job. The staff member we had just didn't want to be there. And it wasn't just us, I watched her serve the people before us and thought that they had upset her... but nah, she musta just got outta bed on the wrong side that morning... or... her care factor went on holiday and left the rest of her to go to work... whatever it was, she was not interested. And then there is the little buzzy things that pubs and clubs have to let you know that your meal is ready. Seriously, charge and extra dollar per meal and do some table service. That way you may see the dishes on the tables outside and clean them a little better, thus increasing your clientele. (and keep the birds from eating scraps off the plates and disrupting breakfast) Those buzzy things might be OK for takeaway coffees etc, but for sit down dining meals, they don't work (well, in clubs and pubs they might, but noy for cafe's). Then the meals come out.. and seriously, you have to look hard to see the difference. Use some imagination please chef, or find the love that you once had for food that got you into cooking... but it's like you didn't even try. Avocado was good. Savory mince was some sort of curry flavor and really oily... and, came out on a chipped plate. Come on... your not even trying. It is Waygu Mince after all, make the most of that, don't mask all the flavor. Could have been pet mice for all we know with all the curry that you added. Fortunately it was a beautiful day and the pier across the road is worth a visit... Pelicans Nest cafe'.. Hmmmm, not so much. Keep walking, there are nicer places.
Alister H — Google review
This is the best Haloumi salad I've ever had. Really generous portion size too. The young lady who served me had such a sweet smile on her face. I was googling all over for a place that was open late, that would be quiet and peaceful. At first I wasn't sure if Pelican's Nest would be a good spot. But they have a beautiful enclosed area, that blocks the wind, and has lighting, and fairy lights for nighttime. I've found such a gem at this Cafe. It's great because it offers a nice view of the park across the road and a bit of the bay. The fresh air is so nice. Even though there's fan (not that noisy)  and we're beside the road, cars driving past. I like that there's no music playing (Zarraffas where I normally go for a quiet place doesn't always have great music, and can be loud). I'm so glad I came here today. Really wonderful first time experience. ❤

Overall mid range experience. Service was friendly, atmosphere good, great location, reasonably good pricing. I understand it can get busy at times, small things like missed pieces of calamari (weird serving size) absolutely no salt or chicken salt on chips as requested while ordering (you’ll see on photos a drizzle on the fish and small calamari) left a sour taste. Will give them another try in the future but be mindful when ordering takeaway to check your food before you go.

Staff were really great helping to work out what food was safe for my son to eat with his egg & nut allergy. Lovely to sit outside on the deck. Great place & would very happily return. Highly recommend!

Really good quality fish and chips with great salad. Good price too

Wow. First time here. Absolutely beautiful King Snapper with a thin layer of crispy crumbs and cooked perfectly, with beautiful chips and nice fresh garden salad. Great meal, great service and byo. Will definitely be back.

We found the food here to be reasonably good quality there was plenty to eat with large portions. The fish the chips and the salad we're all tasty and we found it was quite good value for money

The crumbed king snapper was pretty fresh, the crumbed camembert was delicious too and the chips were just how I remember! Great service too!

Highly recommend Dlish Fish & Chips! We've been coming here for the past 6yrs and they never disappoint. In the photos is the: Seafood Combo for 2; Perfect for two people and could easily be shared between 4 people with small appetites. Comes with a great little salad, 2 x small tartare sauces and lemon. The coleslaw dressing is very oily so you might want to squeeze some lemon on it for a bit of zest. We always ask for battered fish and highly recommend it as they do battered fish very well. In fact the best battered fish on Brisbane's Inner City Northside! Extras we tried: Potatoe scallops; Crunchy and good sized. They also have a cheese & bacon version which is interesting. Snapper spring rolls; Very good and highly recommended! Crumbed Camembert; Very good and great if you're a cheese lover! The only thing that needs attention is their tartare sauce.

It has been many years since we last visited Dlish Fish. We had a lovely meal tonight. We ordered a Singles pack each as it has the variety of fish pieces, calamari, prawn cutlet and chips. All was beautifully cooked, generous serve and fresh. Staff were really lovely. We will be back. Thank you.😚

Fosh Bar & Restaurant is a Hamptons-inspired establishment located by the river, offering a wide array of seafood options such as caviar, oysters, dry aged fish, live mud crabs, and lobster. The restaurant boasts an airy and elegant ambiance with stone decor, abundant greenery, and comfortable seating. Guests have praised the relaxed and inviting atmosphere that makes it suitable for casual gatherings or romantic dinners.
The place is wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious. What truly stood out, however, was the outstanding service from Dan. He was very professional, gave us excellent drink recommendations, had a fantastic attitude, and made the experience so enjoyable with his fun and witty personality.

Impeccable service by the team from booking to billing. I had mentioned on the phone whilst making the reservation that we are celebrating a birthday. The team gave us a table with an amazing river view and even had a handwritten note . They also gave us a small dessert with a sparkler. The food was fresh and had really good flavour. It is definitely a value for money place and priced very fairly. Can't wait to visit next time

Went here on a date night and it couldn’t have been better. Oysters were so fresh and perfect as our starters, the prawn sandwich was bigger than I thought but no complaints there, loved it. Mains were also excellent but the best part was actually the dessert. Our waiter recommended the cheesecake and we’re so glad we got it cause oh my gosh it was amazing. The sparkler on top was really sweet too. Will come back not just for the food but also for the beautiful view and for the service.

Would absolutely recommend Fosh to everyone who loves genuinely good food with a beautiful view. The food was sensational, the location is stunning and the service was wonderful. We ordered the banquet on this occasion which gave us a wonderful taste of the menu. Every single meal was outstanding!! Highly recommend giving it a go.

Very impressed with this restaurant. We had the Banquet menu and the food was well presented, good serving sizes and delicious. I would definitely come back here again. The staff were excellent, we had Christine, who was an amazing host, Thanks Fosh :)

Nice place but staff seemed inexperienced for such a high end restaurant. Scallops were okay. The sole was also just okay, not much seasoning, just butter. Attractive place right on the river.

Location is great, nice setting inside and out. We ordered the Hooked Banquet for 2 and another ordered the steak cooked to perfection. Our banquet meal was okay wouldn’t get that again would choose from the normal menu. Our waiter was good but the Drink service is slow in the making as with the food. Overall good experience.

Went there for my birthday. Had the $54 banquet and I was amazed by the quality and beautiful sitting of this restaurant. The fish curry and the chicken were beautifully cooked. We also ordered an extra steak on the side for $68 and it was actually just as good as any top end steak restaurant would serve up. Really enjoyed out time there. Would highly recommend

I usually take the decision to try any fish and chips eatery from the way it smells.. This place smells good, and clean. Furthermore; fresh seafood, taste very nice, and welcoming staff.. I would love to repeat my visit ..

Tonight will be the last time I buy from here. We have been customers to this shop for close to a decade for a reason. Tasty, good quality fish and chips at reasonable prices with great customer service. It changed hands a little while ago and we noticed the drop in quality straight away. We have given them a grace period to find their feet, but I could speculate that the new owners focus is on profit. Tonight my meal was a bit disappointing for a $16 meal that took 20 minutes with 2 customers in front of me and was luke warm. It's a shame, but there you go.
Paul Q — Google review
I’ll start with the good: Service here is pretty kind and polite. And the meal itself is pretty. Now onto what could be changed: I would say offer more combos (that include drinks) that can discount total price cos this place is pretty pricey. For three people with only one drink our total neared $70 😅 Barramundi and Salmon cost the same here, and salads are $5.9. I would say the salad isn’t worth it, and small chips is enough. They kept talking about chicken salt being used but I could barely taste any used. What’s more the barramundi fish was so small that we didn’t really think it was worth it. If the catch is small maybe offer up two smaller pieces or another half to make up, or lower the $14.9 price point. Lastly there was a 30 minute wait time for the meals which was also a bit random as it didn’t seem that busy. I enjoyed the meal but probably wouldn’t come back unless prices and wait time drop a little bit.
Tony's S — Google review
$20.50 for 4 pieces of whiting and a handful of chips with barbecue sauce. I was told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. I did not realise that would mean 15 minutes before the food was actually put in the fryer. 3 staff on and I had to wait over 20 minutes for this overpriced meal. Not a single order ahead of me but 3 others behind also patiently waiting. The batter on the whiting was also very thick. TLDR: waste of time and money, go elsewhere

Awesome food, good size of food and hard to beat prices! Has special $9.9 fish and chips deal when we were there. We had fish burgers and it was great, love the batter on fish, delicious!
Taylor C — Google review
I had much higher hopes for this place considering the previous reviews, I was quite disappointed. Originally asked if we could have grilled fish pieces in the combo deal (as I get sick from batter and crumbing) and were told no quite rudely and weren't offered any alternative. So I got a piece of salmon ($14.90), my friend got crumbed cod and chips with gravy. All up it was just shy of $57 and unfortunately it was all very mediocre. The salmon was cooked okay but almost no seasoning on it and a very small cut, cod was nothing to write home about and most of the chips and gravy went in the bin. There was also quite a long wait and they forgot the chicken salt too. Unsure how this establishment has 4.4 stars, certainly won't be returning. ☹️

Really enjoyed the Fish and Chips and Burger, one of the best I've had in a long time. Batter was crispy, chips were beer battered, and double fried, super crunchy. Burger was a proper works burger with pineapple and beetroot.

Gorgeous first try of The Codfather tonight! Recently moved to the area and very happy to have gone in tonight. Service was super friendly on all angles, owner and FOH were so welcoming and the food itself was delicious and plentiful. Great value all round. Decent enough fish and chips which is sure to hit the spot on any day of the week. Reasonable prices and good service makes for an all around satisfying experience. Be weary that the fish is crumbed by defualt, and special requests have to be made for batter. Crumbed fish tasted old and defrosted, while the chips were frozen subpar quality.

Nice little fish & chip place, my friend invited me there for a snack. The 4 star rating on the atmosphere was really the noise of traffic on the road or the front.
Ross S — Google review
In every way a classic fish n chips joint this family business is great and the young man who takes my order speaks with a powerful voice indeed! The food is always great and I sense a fun energy in the space. I've given a lower rating for atmosphere only due to the restaurant facing onto Stafford Road. Perhaps some plants or even some laminate boards bolted onto the support struts to block out the traffic, some amber lights and an old radio and bobs your uncle you've got a top quality hang out with great food! In anycase I recommend the Cod Father!

Red Hill Seafood is a charming mom'n'pop outfit that offers a nostalgic experience with its 1970s Australiana menu and affordable prices. The menu features classic items like potato scallops, dim sims, fish, and chips with a generous dusting of chicken salt. Customers have enjoyed the reasonably priced 'Single pack' which includes well-cooked cod and flavorful chips.
Started buying fish and chips here every other week, opting for the grilled cod and calamari. The chips are consistently crispy and well salted and the calamari is thick and crispy! Definitely our go to fish and chip shop in Ashgrove/Red Hill.

Service was good but the fish and chips are pretty below average. Chips are crap, fish is dry. I think maybe they need to change their oil or something. Nice that they're open late. Maybe their other food is better? Wouldn't recommend.
Matt B — Google review
Regular ol' fish and chips at a reasonable price. Had the 'Single pack' which was decently priced at $12, plus a pineapple fritter for $2. Pack included fish (cod) which was cooked nicely, chips were real good (chicken salt 🤤) but I felt the portion was slightly small, and the prawn cutlet was nice. Calamari was a bit underwhelming but I've had some awesome alternatives elsewhere so I guess my expectations were high. The overall meal size was perfect for me, but some people may find it small (but you can always add to it!). Also, service was quick.

Was a quiet afternoon and I ordered some garlic chicken balls X2 and a chicken schnitzel burger which was actually really good but I'm not sure if they were rushing or what the go was however the balls were literally still frozen in the centre and really unpleasant. I was afraid I was going to get sick due to it being undercooked and I would have returned and asked for my money back if I wasn't already on the way to an appointment and driving. Not impressed with the uncooked food. Staff were friendly enough

We made an order early at 5:30pm on Good Friday via UberEats understanding it would be busy and hoping our 3yr old could eat before bedtime. Fish and chips is our family tradition and with a toddler and newborn baby I was excited about not cooking! Sadly after waiting over 45 minutes our order was abruptly cancelled. I called to find out what had happened and heard the managers in the background say they’d cancelled our uber order as they were too busy. Fair enough but it’s pretty terrible service to make people wait over 45minutes thinking their food is almost on the way then cancelling?! Also felt sorry for the girl on the phone who had to explain we wouldn’t be getting dinner tonight - they tried to say they ran out of ingredients but were obviously filling other orders in the background. Either cancel within 5-10 minutes or just don’t take online orders in the first place. We were happy to wait longer if needed, or receive a partial order (surely they hadn’t completely run out of fish, chips, burgers, salad and potato scallops?!). Now I have a screaming baby while I try to figure out dinner for my 3yr old (who had been sitting on the front steps waiting for the delivery, all excited about his ‘Easter dinner’). Our Good Friday tradition is ruined and I should have just gone to another fish and chip shop. Will not be making that mistake again.

The best fish n chips ever. It looks ordinary but the taste is surprisingly good! The sea perch battered fish is high recommended. The fish is so tender , fresh and crunch. The chicken burger got the perfect combination. The calamari is bigger than other shop and the squid is fresh❤️Will definitely come back!

TLDR: had vego burger (yes...at a fish and chips store) - brutally mid IMO. If you're looking for a burger, pay the extra $3 and go to burger urge 10 steps away. Review: Carraway Pier seems to be quite highly reviewed by others, and to be fair I took the road less traveled with the veggie burger but honestly a very underwhelming experience. Came in late and had a veggie burger. Service came off grumpy, but I'll give a pass as it was close to closing. Atmosphere was fine, odd lack of music. Burger was $11.5 so decentish pricing but buns were wrong way round (Patty not on sesame seed bun?) and tasted incredibly average. BBQ sauce listed on menu but couldnt taste/see? Toppings didn't taste super fresh. No onions, pickles, vego cheese? Slices of toppings are funnily cut, thick tomato cut. I appreciate pioneering into vego burgers as a fish and chips joint, but I'd leave it at salads unless the burger gets some more love.

Spotted Cod in Wavell Heights, North Brisbane, is a local favorite for its commitment to sourcing the best seafood. The restaurant offers classic dishes like fish and chips, as well as gourmet burgers and handmade sides such as onion rings and potato scallops. Customers appreciate the freshness of the food and the unique variety of salads available. While some find the prices slightly higher than other places, they acknowledge that it reflects the quality of the food.
Had the best battered snapper and chips from here. Wife said her fish burger was the best she has ever had...and that's including in NZ so that's saying alot. Cheeseburger and battered mussels were great as well. Nice spot unfortunately bit far from home so can't visit weekly.

We used to frequent this fish and chips and enjoyed the food, we’ve placed two orders the past fortnight and both times the beef patties and the chicken burgers have been so salted they are literally inedible.
Mitchell R — Google review
Unsure how this business is still operational. We ordered crumbed and they made a mistake and gave us battered. Ordered the cod pack with chips - the oil was clearly dirty and everything saturated. Calamari and potato was overcooked and dark brown in dirty oil and chewy. Chips were old, hard and chewy but also wet from the oil. Good is in the bin. We used to go frequently but we will never waste money there again.
Veronica M — Google review
my partner and i frequently love ordering from here since the food is really tasty, however I’ve unfortunately gotta knock a star off because I love to order their fish burger and pay extra for cheese and sometimes jalapeños to be added to my burger but unfortunately every time I’ve ordered this both extras that I’ve paid for have been left off. It’s kinda disappointing paying an extra $3.50 for extras I really would love to add and don’t end up receiving.
Jordie — Google review
Cod and chips for 2 were delicious. We ordered the $7.50 serve of chips and there was way too much for 2 people. The fish was crumbed and cooked really well. The wait time was a bit much - 30 minutes and you wouldn't really want to eat there with other people standing around waiting for their orders.
Karen G — Google review
Superb oysters. Have ordered them both fresh and Kilpatrick style. Though tonight I’m pretty sure they used BBQ sauce on the Kilpatrick oysters instead of Worcestershire. However the quality and freshness of the oysters made up for this, so the BBQ sauce didn’t detract from the flavour all that much. I also appreciate that this place doesn’t charge through the nose for good quality oysters like a lot of other places.
Laura M — Google review

Nestled along the Brisbane River, The Boatshed Restaurant offers a picturesque setting to savor some of the finest steaks in Brisbane's CBD. Boasting a diverse menu, the restaurant presents 15 steak options sourced from Barkley Tablelands, including dry-aged beef for 40 days. Diners can elevate their steak experience with seven delectable toppers such as prawns and oysters.
I recently came here with my partner for a celebratory dinner. Straight away, we were met with a beautiful 'postcard' congratulating our special occasion; beautiful touch! Our lovely waitress Leah attended to us promptly despite the restaurant being busy, and ran us through the food and beverage menu, recommending us an amazing red that paired perfectly with the steaks that we ordered. She uncorked the wine at our table and allowed us to try it before pouring, explaining the flavours to us. Our food was brought quickly and everything was delicious! Leah also stopped by often to fill our waters and wine, as well as checking that we were okay. This service goes above and beyond what I've experienced at other restaurants, and we will definitely be returning in the near future!

The rump steak was a bit tough, but the other dishes were quite decent. The surprise birthday dessert was such a thoughtful and touching gesture — it really made the experience special. I think the more premium steaks might be better, so I’d love to try one of those next time.

When we arrived it wasn’t busy, but the matradee just wandered off, muttering something about checking if our table was ready. No greeting, no care. She then started taking our water order 'while walking to the table, just to make it clear she wasn’t coming back twice. Half the group didn't hear her... Just confusion. This set the tone for things to come... We all thought it, but had no idea of the new lows that would be ahead of us. We’d paid for champagne on arrival. No one knew about it. When it finally turned up (after asking repeatedly), they just dropped it and dashed. We poured ourselves, and the empty bottles sat there for the entire meal. Ordered wine. No check or taste, just poured and ran. Turns out it was the wrong wine, not even on the menu. When we finally got some attention and mentioned it, the waiter acted like he’d never taken a request before, then pretty sure the same bloke dropped all the plates near the kitchen twenty minutes later. The woeful acoustic had a bang and a clatter. Probably not their fault. The matradee has clearly never trained anyone. The table wasn’t clean. When we asked for it to be wiped after entree, our guest was handed a cloth and plate to do it themselves... This was just insanity. It wasn’t even done rudely, more as if they thought it was a helpful gesture. Never seen this before in my life. No offer of extra drinks or dessert. We just got up and paid at the desk... Our bill was full of irregularities, and things we didn't order. The Manager, she appears to simply not care. Food was ok to good. Lamb backstrap overcooked but still tasty. The chef deserves better representation. The venue tries to pass itself off as silver service but is expensive, noisy, and cold. Feels like a food court if you’re not in a booth. Staff milling around the bar doing about nothing. Training. Training. Training. Won’t return. If you do go, book a booth. Even with elevated staff, the ambiance would be unbearable in the middle of the dining hall.

Leonardo was an exceptional host ensuring our lunch date was made that extra special. Leonardo went above and beyond to make pur lunch very enjoyable. The food was beautiful and very tasty. We really enjoyed the chefs work. The setting was very elegant. We felt like we were eating in a very nice restaurant, but with very down to earth waiters who wanted to engage and make the experience even more special. Thank you

We tried the truffle degustation menu. Chef came out to say hi to everyone. She had extensive experience working in restaurants all over Asia, so the menu has some Asian influence. Food was great, good service and spacious dining area.

Very disappointing experience from the moment we arrived. We had a booking, but when we got there, the staff were cold and unfriendly — no greeting, no eye contact, just told us to wait. While we were standing there, multiple walk-in customers who arrived after us were seated before us, which made no sense. When we were finally seated, it was difficult to get any service. I tried to wave politely to order, but the staff deliberately ignored us — they clearly saw me but turned away as if they hadn’t. It felt personal, like we weren’t welcome there, and unfortunately, there was a sense of racial bias in how we were treated compared to other customers. To top it all off, the salt and pepper squid was so salty it was barely edible. Overall, the poor service, long wait despite a booking, and unwelcoming attitude made this a place I wouldn’t return to or recommend.
H L — Google review
Very nice looking restaurant, terrific service, but the food, forget about it. This place passes itself as a steak house yet they have no idea how to cook to order. The photo below shows a steak that was ordered well done. Even worse was the beer battered fish and chips. The batter was at least half a centimetre thick, hard as a biscuit and tasteless. It appears it had been refried two or three times. The snapper inside was soggy and gelatinous, was not fresh, appears to have been frozen and reheated badly. The mushy peas were ice cold. The chips were the only thing the kitchen didn't completely stuff up, but they were wedges, not chips. When I wrote to the restaurant explaining how bad the food was and giving them advice on how to improve their food and a request for a partial refund, they just ignored me. Avoid this restaurant. They have no idea how to cook food.
Ian N — Google review
Lovely venue with a great atmosphere, and the staff were great. The steaks were a little overdone. We ordered two eye fillets, one medium-rare (for my wife) and one medium (for me), but they arrived closer to medium and medium-well. Still, the food overall was very nice. We also ordered two kids’ meals: a ham and pineapple pizza (though they were out of pineapple) and a pasta dish. The pasta was a bit plain, just spaghetti with tomato sauce, and didn’t go down well with our kids, who usually love Italian food.

I had a wonderful dinner with friends at New Farm Seafood, where the seafood was incredibly fresh and flavourful. Our meal included a variety of dishes, starting with delicious sashimi and zucchini flowers, followed by crispy fish and chips, succulent prawns, fresh oysters, and tasty bug tacos. We enjoyed a whole coral trout for the main course and finished with a delightful burnt basque cheesecake and sticky date pudding. The menu featured a great selection of seafood and non-seafood options, including an enticing omakase section with sashimi and sushi. There were also various drinks available, including sake to pair with the omakase. The attentive service and freshness of the seafood made for a truly enjoyable evening.

Thanks for making our Anniversary extra special. Food, service and attention to detail was amazing. Thank you for taking the time to share your amazing passion for food. We absolutely loved it as did our son Ronin. Dave and Andrea

Finally got to have the Seafood Chowder. So glad that I went on a day I wasn't struggling with my allergies. I had the chowder as list on the menu only without bread. It was the perfect chowder. Fresh corn and bacon with perfectly cooked potatoes accompanying a variety of lovely seafood: several fish and mussels. It was everything that I love about chowder. The staff as always was very attentive and as they understand my need for water brought me a caraf. They also sell fresh seafood.

We were recommended this restaurant by our Airbnb host, who lived in New Farm, and it turned out to be an excellent suggestion! The food spread was impressive. We ordered the surf and turf, the scallops, and the fried dory. Every dish was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. The ambience was warm and welcoming, and my family had a truly enjoyable evening. Compliments to the chefs and the attentive staff for a wonderful dining experience 🥰 The only small hiccup was that we were charged A$5 for ketchup and chilli sauce, which we didn’t realised until the bill. It would’ve been nice if the waiter had mentioned it, especially for tourists who might not be aware. Overall, still a fabulous experience with quality food and great service. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the area!

Fantastic service, top-quality ingredients, and amazing taste! I’m a weekly regular, and this is one of the places in New Farm I simply can’t live without. Keep up the great work, team!
Louise L — Google review
Been there for dinner at 7.30 pm. Completely dead. And they were rushing to close kitchen also taking order. Have to eat in hurry so that they can close the restaurant. Food was below the average. Looks good but didn't taste good. I won't go back again.

Do my shopping in Merthyr all the time and have walked past this place and always wanted to try it. Was not let down. Got the snapper with chips and it was exactly what the dr ordered! Portion size was just right for me and I liked that they didn’t skimp on the tartare sauce. Will definitely be coming back to explore the menu more.

My husband loves fish from New Farm Seafood. Take away Buttered Flat head cost only $16! He was so satisfied. His fish cravings were settled. The staff were so helpful and friendly.

Ocean Tucker, located in Newmarket Village, is a popular spot known for its generous portions and affordable prices. The menu boasts a variety of options including fresh seafood, Korean fried chicken, Japanese rice bowls, loaded sandwiches, and hearty salads. Customers rave about the quality and quantity of the food, with many praising the crispy fish fillets and perfectly cooked fries.
Wow this little place really delivers 👏. We had an Angus beef Burger, fish Burger, fries and a can of drink. Both burgers were very tasty and not greasy, nice soft buns. Fries were excellent and the drink was frosty cold, all the things we like in a cafe . Service was very friendly and we ate in. Highly recommend, will be back.
Bronwyn R — Google review
EDIT: Since they have seemed to change owners/management and chefs, the quality and value has unfortunately decreased. I paid $26 for a single barramundi fillet, chips and some tartare sauce. Had to wait 30 mins to finally receive it, and was left quite disappointed. Although the fish was pretty good, the chips were soggy this time. They also didn't give a lemon slice although the previous chef did. I would normally encourage to eat in-store for maximum freshness, but the atmosphere was very tense—the chefs seemed to be very rushed and stressed out, and took it out on the poor cashier girl serving the customers. Every customer waiting could hear how the chefs were scolding the girl. As I was finishing my meal, another diner returned his fish as it was not cooked properly inside. I used to rate this place 5 stars, but can only give it a maximum of 3. Not sure if I'll give it another chance. Review before change in management: I’ve been here a few times and can honestly say that these meals were the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The fish fillets always come out crunchy on the outside while tender and juicy inside. The fries are always cooked and seasoned just right. For the price, the serving sizes are generous and always leaves you satisfied and full! Definitely recommend eating in the restaurant instead of takeaway for the best and crunchiest experience

We had a lovely dinner from here. Great fish and chips and delicious, very generous side salads. Run by a lovely family. Would highly recommend for fish and chips in the are. Tip - call your order in rather than ordering online (it’s a third party who have added to the website without permission and charge more than the restaurant themselves)! Enjoy 😊

Beaut little restaurant / take away fish and chip shop but also with salads and soft drinks. The wait time was underestimated but the food was hot when presented. We had the crumbed whiting meal and a another grilled fish. The fish, salad and chips were very good.
Martin W — Google review
Absolutely fantastic experience! The fish and chips from Ocean Tucker today were nothing short of exceptional. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside, and the chips were golden, crunchy, and cooked to perfection. The batter had just the right balance—light and flavorful without being greasy. The portion size was generous, and the service was friendly and efficient. Truly a top-notch spot for classic seaside fare. I’ll definitely be returning soon—highly recommend to anyone craving authentic, delicious fish and chips!

We felt like some good fish and chips, and came here after reading the reviews. This place is 100% on the money. We had battered gold and snapper, grilled barramundi, Greek salad, rocket least and walnut salad, and a few sea scallops. This was the best fish and chips we've had in many years. Succulent, even better than the Fish Factory at Lytton. Fresh, juicy, perfectly cooked, very generous servings. I loved the batter, it was a type of tempura batter and really crunchy. Superb. The chips were steak cut and well cooked, not soggy or overcooked The salads were excellent as well as the scallops. Service was also excellent. It took a while to come to the table but you could see the care in each element on the plate. We will definitely be back. There are plenty of other good things on the menu they to try. Ocean Tucker's rating is genuine and deserved. Enjoy.

I am a regular customer and I usually order their special chicken fry. Haven’t been disappointed so far until yesterday. I ordered my usual chicken fry but the taste was different, with salty stickiness to it and a lingering bitterness and the chicken wasn’t as crispy and tasty as they usually served. Probably because of new people working behind the counter!
Nawang G — Google review
One of our favorite restaurants in town. Every menu is worth to try. Barramundi was so soft and perfectly well marinated. Also boneless chicken is just amazing. We will definitely visit again

Ol' School Fish Eatery is a recent addition to Brisbane's fish and chips scene, having opened in January. The restaurant features charming decor and offers a dine-in menu that is definitely worth trying. While the prices may be on the higher side, patrons rave about the perfectly cooked fish with just the right amount of crunch. The service is excellent, and daily specials like Grilled Salmon are cooked to perfection.
The food and service are both good. We had a daily dish (Grilled Salmon) and it was cooked to perfection. Skin is crispy and meat is just right. The dumpling and chucked are also very tasty and Chinese styles. I love the pork bub most. The bun is soft and the pork and sauce are perfect match. I highly recommend this

Pricey place. Fish however cooked to perfection. They have mastered the art of their trade. The right amount of crunch as you bite down into their juicy and perfect prepared fish. Onion rings and chips to complete my classic ol school.fish and chips, very happy indeed. Service was fantastic, we were well looked after. Prices a but high for fish but a must try at least once

Outstanding, definitely Ol School chipper done sooo good. Nice wine menu and great staff. Alot of thought put into the balance of sides to mains. Do yourself a flavor!!

Really tasty, a welcome surprise after most places were busy. Nice quality food, amazing coconut battered Barra and the curry was fresh real ingredients. Water was super friendly, Recommend for a simple but classy pre show dinner!

Best fish and chips in the area by far, won't dissapoint. We had the battered and grilled fish along with salad and chips, all very good. Also tried the dumplings, because why not? They were just as good.

Finally a quality fish & chip shop in the city 😊. And they do really incredible dessert... That Lemon Meringue Pie was so delicious. Also... Some of my favorite fries.

Obviously overcooked potato chips. They were completely different from the ones I had a week earlier. Overall taste was just average. I don’t think their prices are reasonable for the foods. Staff were attentive and helpful.

Located in North Brisbane, The Boat Shed Ashgrove is a charming seafood restaurant adjacent to Scarborough Beach Park. I ordered the special deal half cod and chips and potato scallop. I added a couple extra potato scallops total was $14. The lady at the register was very bright and bubbly and the cod blew me away on how good it tasted! Would definitely recommend coming back! Very wholesome small fish and chips shop!

Amazing chips, very crispy and very generous portion. Amazing service too. Finished and ordering more already.

I’m new to the area. Love my Fish n chips every Friday. First visit 3 weeks ago - great food. Last week I arrived to a really sick looking display of fish in empty display fridge. Very unappealing. Cloudy and dull and really small for price. Got home and fish was dry, overcooked and tasteless. Small Sweet pot fries and 2 potato scallops were ok. Nothing like previous experience a week earlier. Far too expensive for $36 plus fee. Not game to try my luck again.
John J — Google review
Nice place newly opened but really good food. My grilled snapper was awesome and Calamari probably best in the Brisbane. Totally recommended Should try once 😃😃
Shree K — Google review
I don't normally like giving one star reviews - however I have been to this place twice now (I always give a place a second chance) Unfortunately this place was the same both times. 1. The order took way longer than it should. 2. The fish and chips, potato scallops and pineapple fritter were left in a bag on the bench (not in a hot box) while we waited for the two burgers to be ready. (The food was then lukewarm) 3. The beef burgers were flavourless and full of gristle 4. The potato scallops were not cooked properly and hard in places. 5. The way that the manager (or who I think was the manager) spoke to the young girl who was serving (who was lovely - and clearly new) was appalling. If it had of been me I would have walked out. I will never be going back to this store again.
Ali S — Google review
First of all I don't like leaving negative reviews. We ordered takeaway here last night, the fish was dry and the portion size was small for the price. We ordered 2 pieces of barramundi for $29 which is overpriced. Very disappointing.
Helen G — Google review
Customer service could be improved a lot. Eg when there's a mistake due to your website not interfacing with your order reveival system properly, maybe don't start off by accusing the customer of being in the wrong. You just embarrass yourself when I pull out the invoice and show I didn't make the mistake. Even if the customer is at fault, being accusatory is always the wrong footing to start on. Food is OK, I personally think it's un-Australian to charge extra for chichen salt.
