Pub
Nestled in the heart of Albion, Breakfast Creek Hotel is a stunning French Renaissance-style pub that boasts five unique bars, including a dedicated rum bar. This iconic establishment has been serving up delicious steak dinners since 1967, with premium cuts sourced from Queensland and expertly chargrilled to perfection.
Visited here on Sunday for lunch and it was honestly such a vibe. We sat in beer garden area and they had awesome music playing and there's of people which added to atmosphere. It was a really nice day. The menu is fairly extensive and includes all the usual pub meals plus many other options. They also have quite a wide range of steak options which is awesome. We went with the chicken parmigiana and the gold band snapper. Both were massive servings and tasted great. Definitely worth a visit if you're after a decent pub feed.

✨ “A must-visit destination in Brisbane", the Breakfast Creek Hotel offers an unforgettable blend of history, architecture, and lively atmosphere. The building, standing proudly for 135 years, exudes a timeless charm that immediately captures your attention. During my visit, I enjoyed the steak paired with zucchini wedges, both cooked to perfection – the steak was tender and juicy, while the zucchini wedges were crisp yet soft inside, creating a harmonious culinary experience. Beyond the food, the mix of traditional heritage elements with modern touches throughout the hotel makes every corner feel rich with character and stories, making it much more than just a meal – it’s an immersive experience into Brisbane’s cultural fabric.
SUJIN — Google review
Food was great, but service let us down. We ordered smoked chicken wings with a bowl of chips (for my wife) and a burger (for me). The wings and chips came out quickly, but the burger took another 30 minutes. We had to follow up with two different staff members, and when it finally arrived there was no apology or explanation. Also, suggest avoiding tables 331, 332, 333, 334, 335, 328, and 330 on a hot day — they’re under a black tarpaulin and it was sweltering; we were sitting there sweating. Disappointing experience despite the tasty food.

Holy mama 😍 It's a great meal with bf. This is a spacious place to enjoy quality beer and steak. Even just beef burger is so so nice. And the food serving was fast. I rly wanna bring my friends to hear again!
BannyPink ( — Google review
Had a work dinner here with 5 of my colleagues and we all ordered steaks. IMO the steak was nice but doesn't seem to be on point with Melbourne or Sydney steak houses. The slaw was also very bitter and seemed to be lacking mayonnaise but the chips were good. Service was prompt and the atmosphere was fantastic for a weekday. Def give a go if you're in the area, just might have been an off night.
Jono K — Google review
Had the Pork Belly, which was delicious, the Cajun Calamari, was ok I guess, not very Cajun-y. 400g steak was cooked to liking, Eggplant Parma was not the best. However when we let the server know, they comped that off our bill. Other then that, the service was great and quick!
Andrew B — Google review
It was my first time dining here. The restaurant is beautiful and has a long history. There is a wide variety of steaks to choose from, and the bar offers many seating options. Highly recommended.

The Plough Inn, a historic 19th-century pub located in the heart of Southbank Parklands, offers a diverse experience for visitors. With its spacious beer garden, deck area, and sports bar, it's a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The venue has a rich history dating back to 1885 and even played a part in the World Expo 88 celebration.
Went down for dinner on a friday night. It was busy but found a table straight away. live music was great. ordered dinner and drinks from the QR code on the table which was easy. Meals turned up quickly and were all very tasty.

We had a lovely dinner in the outdoor area at this hotel in Southbank. It was a quiet Sunday evening, and it wasn't too busy. The meals were very generous and the drinwereva reasonable price for the location. Ordering and payment was using a QR code on our phone, and the drinks and meals arrived promptly from friendly staff. We had a lovely meal. The live music was also a nice touch over dinner.

I was in Brisbane recently, and spent a brilliant afternoon at The Plough Inn, soaking up some of what makes Brisbane a great city to visit. We took the CityCat into Southbank and after wandering through the precinct, we settled in at The Plough Inn to watch the footy, enjoy the acoustic live music, and some nice time with my family. The atmosphere was great, it was busy but not crazy - there was a nice breeze, the sound of a musician playing laid-back tunes was great, and the big screen had the AFL and the NRL was on the other screens. It was exactly what we were after. We ordered several rounds of hard lemonades as the afternoon turned into early evening and I ordered some snacks to share. I went with the pork belly bites and buffalo wing nibbles from the specials menu, and the Peking duck spring rolls with sweet chilli plum sauce from the Shared Menu. The food was nice and got cleaned up quickly by our group. I liked the space, The original Plough Inn structure is a heritage-listed 1864 building that looks beautiful. We were in the well designed modern extension structure next door, that still feels somewhat connected but looks like a completely separate structure. There was something charming and quirky, but equally considered and effective about the layout of this new space. It works well as a casual pub experience, beer garden meets sports bar, meets relaxed family space. After a few hours, we wandered into the nearby South Bank night markets, chatting and laughing and as we waited for our cabs and Ubers to head home, we all agreed we’d do it all again soon. Whether you’re a local or just visiting South Bank, The Plough Inn is nice space to spend some time.

Busy place, had a nice meal, nothing outstanding, and staff were pleasure. They could have had some heaters around the place, it was a pretty cold night. Music was nice and not too loud so you could still have a conversation. I wait till it warms up before I go back.
Sharron N — Google review
I was craving for a Chicken parmigiana and looking at the reviews, this is the place to be. It was okey and I enjoyed it, but not the best. The portion of chicken was good, a decent piece of meat. But the batter was not really crispy and actually became a bit soggy. The fries could have been fried for a minute longer too. Overal a fine place, with live music and a good atmosphere.
Sander V — Google review
Stopped in for a late lunch. Service was quick, which was fantastic as they were quite busy. Tasty food which was filling. Live music which I love. Just be aware there are birds hanging around waiting for an opportunity to steal food

The Pineapple Hotel in Kangaroo Point is a lively and long-standing pub known for its steakhouse, contemporary glasshouse beer garden, and multiple bars. It has a rich tradition of serving excellent pub fare, with their parmy being particularly popular. The hand-crumbed chicken breast topped with Napoli sauce, bacon, and mozzarella cheese served with chips and house salad is a standout dish. As a sports bar located near the Gabba, it draws large crowds during Brisbane Lions games.
Lovely staff.. food was average pub food but nice. I had the steak sandwich on panini with chips! Customer service real good. Love the kids area. Will def be back. Thanks guys
Rita — Google review
Had a lovely Brunch at The Pineapple Hotel. The garlic bread was perfectly buttery and crisp, a great start to the meal. I really enjoyed the salt and pepper calamari—crispy outside, tender inside, and paired well with the tartare sauce. The steak was cooked medium-well just right and came with crispy chips and a fresh salad. Solid pub classics done well as they have special lunch prices during the day, which makes it even better value. Plus, you can grab a beer, watch sports on the big screens, chat with friends, or just hang out and relax. Great spot for casual meals and good company! I’d definitely come back to try more!

Food was amazing. Me and my friend ordered a Tomahawk platter. Loved it. Please make an option to customize the tomahawk platter without any chips or salad. I am a carnivore and there is many of us out there.

Newly renovated. Plenty of great areas to eat, drink and be social. Only a small off street car park but plenty of side street parking. With a park at the rear of the building you can sit on the deck whilst the kids play or kick a footy. There is a $15 and $18 lunch menu which I highly recommend their fish tacos.

Went to the Piney for a family dinner. Big kudos to the kitchen for preparing 20+ dishes all at the same time. Steak was cooked perfectly, appetizers were delicious and great pub vibe!

Was passing by... Saw the board that said 5th oldest pub... Got off the bus just to have a beer ,😁😁. They seemed to have a lot of specials... On steaks and chicken Parma.... Didn't try anything from it... But looked like the people out there were enjoying their steaks 😎

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Brisbane's Valley, The Prince Consort Hotel is a heritage-listed gem that has been captivating visitors since 1888. This multi-level establishment offers an exciting blend of experiences, from its classic English pub ambiance to themed bars like the lively Mexican-inspired 400 Rabbits, where tequila and cocktails flow freely.
The staff are on point because they not only remember your name but they love the industry. Met a bloke named Gav behind the bar and he told me about happy hour when I asked about prices. Best thing about the place are the toilets are clean. I noticed one last thing that's important was the way the manager Ash interacted with staff at the time was incredible and the key here was he didn't know I was watching. The beer is fresh and you feel welcomed by the door girl when you walk in on a Saturday night into La La Land.

Love this quirky and unique venue, perfect for a function or just to hang out with friends for a feast. The Pizza Slab is a must try! And the chicken burger was amazing. The Chicken Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had! Thank you to the team as the service was also exceptional...Great location in the heart of the Valley..
Zena — Google review
Great place to have dinner with friends. Offers bingo and trivia and great meal deals every night. Steaks are delish and so are the burgers. Great atmosphere. No rooms that I know of, it's not a legitimate hotel, well not anymore anyway, just a really great pub in the heart of the valley, also let friendly!
Brittany V — Google review
Great steak, cooked to perfection, at a price that won't break the bank. Good atmosphere. Good selection of beers and wines. Great pub to drop in for a meal and a beer.
Craig B — Google review
The staff repeatedly asked to take our plates every 2 minutes, even though our food and drinks were still full. At one point, a couple of employees simply took our plates without asking, while we were still eating! Shortly after, they asked us to stand up so they could move our reserved table, despite us not having finished our meal. The lack of consideration for our dining experience was extremely frustrating. Good service should be attentive but not intrusive, and certainly not disrespectful. We felt rushed and unwelcome, which completely ruined the meal.
Sweet D — Google review
Decided to host my 30th at the Prince Consort Hotel as I had a fantastic experience previously. The staff were friendly and approachable and made the night go smoothly. Special mention to Vania the event coordinator for my event that helped go above and beyond to make my birthday event so memorable. She was professional, friendly and super helpful. The atmosphere and music was spot on and I’ll be recommending this venue to anyone looking to host their next event.
Judy — Google review
Sanchia is hands-down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met. From the moment you walk up to the bar, she greets you with a big smile and an energy that instantly makes you feel welcome. She has an incredible talent for remembering people’s names and drinks, and she somehow makes every customer feel like the most important person in the room. Her cocktails are spot on every time. She’s attentive without being overbearing, quick on her feet even on the busiest nights, and always manages to have a friendly chat or a laugh with you while still keeping the bar running like clockwork. Sanchia isn’t just serving drinks, she’s creating an experience. Whether you’re a regular or it’s your first time in, you leave feeling like you’ve been looked after by a friend.
Abbey — Google review
We threw my brother and his partner a bucks party in the events room a few weeeks ago and it was the best night ever! Our host was Sanchia who was a delight. She was so fun, friendly and helpful! The room is so much fun and the food is so delicious! I would 100% book another event here!

The Port Office Hotel, a Brisbane institution since 1909, has been a meeting place since 1864. Renovations have highlighted its typically-Queensland theme, creating a light, warm and welcoming ambiance. The Wine Room offers privacy for small sit-down groups and showcases meats cooked on a specially imported French rotisserie. Following a refurbishment in 2017, the venue now exudes modern elegance with a timeless French feel.
Super-Bowl here, best experience ever!!! Food andd drinks brought to the tables, staff have been so friendly all day, honestly best bar/hotel pub experience ever, professional/helpful staff. Full package deal is 100% worth it would honestly recommend coming here for Super-Bowl or any occasion really!! Love it <3

Let's start off with the beer, we had just got into Brisbane and the beer went down a treat and that's about it really. Had we been somewhere else the beer would of still been great. The service, the bar attendant was rude and kinda felt to us that he didn't want to be there. The venue is beautiful. The food, I ordered the beef burger with burger rings. The burger was super expensive and was more like a slider than a burger. The onion rings were full of oil, so much so that when you bite into them you would get oil down your face. Really poor especially when they cost so much. Won't be back.
Warwick — Google review
Very loud and busy venue on a Friday night. Food was adequate and fast. The Springrolls were good but the taco was the best. Next door is a lot quieter so depending on the atmosphere you are going for you have choices. Live musician was playing while we were there and they had sports on the TV so we’re covering all bases

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding – Port Office Hotel Made Our Day Perfect From our very first enquiry, we knew we were in great hands. Elli was our initial point of contact, and she was nothing short of amazing—friendly, professional, and quick to answer all our questions. She made the whole planning process easy and enjoyable. Then came Lucy—what an absolute gem. Her professionalism, warmth and attention to detail were next level. Nothing was too much trouble. On the day, Lucy ensured the room was set up to perfection, just as we had imagined (if not better). She went out of her way to make sure every guest, including children and those with special dietary needs, was individually looked after. She genuinely spoiled us and our guests—everyone noticed and commented on it. The food was sensational—delicious, beautifully presented, and served with care. The bar staff were equally impressive—friendly, efficient, and contributed to the wonderful atmosphere throughout the day. If you’re looking for a venue where you’re more than just another booking—where your celebration is treated with genuine care and attention—then we couldn’t recommend the Port Office Hotel more highly. Huge thanks to Lucy, Elli, and the entire team for making our special day so unforgettable.

Came for dinner while in Brisbane and really enjoyed it! Our waiter Isaac was great and very attentive and the food was delicious!
Courtney — Google review
It was my first time ever at the Port Office last night, and it was really nice. The staff are so lovely, fun and non-judgmental, Isaac is a sweetheart and the ladies who served us really deserve all the cupcakes. Speaking of which thank you for the belated bday cupcake!! Food was impressive and delicious, and the wine also. I would love to see more vegan options on the menu or items that can easily be veganised though. Thank you!
Nila B — Google review
A fabulous meal and very patient staff who waited for us to stop talking and start ordering with kindness. They could see 8 people who were enjoying themselves catching up. The food was delicious and of great quality in every one of the 8 different meals we ordered off the menu. Dessert was great and the team went out of their way to make a fuss of our friend's birthday by making her dessert a special birthday cake. Thank you for great service. Brilliant.

The Morrison Hotel in Woolloongabba is a long-standing establishment known for its whiskey bar, steakhouse, and live blues and country music. Since 1927, this veteran pub has been serving perfectly grilled meats to locals and visitors alike. The menu boasts a variety of options including the 180+ days grain-fed 400g rump and the impressive 800g version at reasonable prices.
Have been to Fiascos at Morrison Hotel a few times and always have a steak dinner and the steak is ALWAYS perfectly cooked! Love the little extras - piece of bun with dinner and free chocolates after dinner. So thoughtful and generous! The service is excellent - very prompt and polite, and the food arrived in good time and altogether (even when there was 7 of us!) Thank you Morrison hotel team!

First Class Service! My 15 yr old daughter said 'I wish we could give them 6☆'. My daughter & I were going to the ballet at the Princess Theatre & didn't have heaps of time to eat but wanted to eat at a restaurant rather than a fast food place. We called Morrison Hotel while on the bus into Woolloongabba to see if they would take an order over the phone and make it for a specific time. We ordered a pizza and risotto for 5 mins after the bus arrival to give us time to walk there. We were met with a smile, shown to a table straight away and within 30 seconds after seating our meals were served instantly & nice n hot. My daughter said she felt like she was in first class. Lovely atmosphere, scrumptious food & wonderful staff. Definitely recommend!

Still very nicely done steaks. Nice atmosphere and good service when needed. Meals came pretty quick on a weekday night. Recommend booking in advance. Loved the baked potatoes and salad. Calamari with sauce is still as good as from years ago.

Great pub - focus is definitely on the food but there’s a great little TAB area. If you are along there is plenty of things on the walls to look at. The whole place plays on its history. Definitely worth a visit for a beer or a steak.

We had a great meal at the Morrison Hotel! Hubby ordered the T-Bone and I went with the Wagyu Rump—both cooked to perfection. The T-Bone was generous in size and packed with flavour, while the Wagyu was beautifully tender and juicy. Classic pub vibes with quality steakhouse standards. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving a hearty, well-cooked steak!

It was a nice atmosphere at Fiasco's, with nice decor, good location, and a nice vibe. The drinks menu is nice and varied, and the food menu has something for everyone. We opted for the steak menu, and it didn't let down, with great sauces and sides. Coupled with some beers and cocktails, it was a great night with the crew, doubly so with the great discount!. Sure to go back again.

The Waterloo Hotel is a popular bar and restaurant housed in a historic Art Deco building. The venue offers a cozy atmosphere with comfortable seating, making it an ideal spot for enjoying after-work drinks or a casual meal. Despite the urban changes in the area, The Waterloo has remained a timeless establishment. Guests praise the diverse selection of beers and spirits, while some regret not having the opportunity to sample the pub grub, particularly the renowned chicken wings.
Well done on your Melbourne cup. Food was fantastic with the lamb ribs and the prawns being the stand out dishes. Staff were amazing and Fiona and Dari were on point and fabulous. 💜

We had the Chicken Parma, chips and salad. The chicken was a little dry and the salad wasn't great. The chips we really nice tho. On our 2nd night we had steak, chips and salad. That was really good. The cheese, garlic and bacon bread also really good. Sticky date for dessert was really awesome too, definitely recommend.

🌟 The Waterloo Hotel Trivia Night (aka the Guessperados Take the Crown) 🌟 Let me take you on a journey, dear reader. Not a spiritual one, per se (though what is trivia if not a pilgrimage through the pop culture pantheon of our time?). No, this is the story of Wednesday night at The Waterloo Hotel, where knowledge is power, laughter is currency, and chairs are… structurally untrustworthy. I arrived early. Like early-early. Pre-trivia stillness. Sacred silence before the storm of useless facts and half-remembered Simpsons quotes. I was first, naturally, kings don’t queue. My queen Mandy followed. Then came Lukeus (who immediately broke a chair, possibly with the sheer force of his arse or his aura, we’re not sure). Kana. New Nathan. Then wave after wave of beautiful chaos. It was triple birthday night. Two new Guessperados. Eleven humans. One destiny. The trivia host, Sam, is not so much a man as a philosophy professor (technically a grade 3 teacher) moonlighting as a showman. Years ago, he hated the trivia host so much that he seized the mic and never gave it back. That, my friends, is either the beginning of a Netflix biopic or a Greek myth. Sam is raw. Sam is present. Sam doesn’t need a script because the trivia is in him. If Zeus and RuPaul had a trivia baby, it would be Sam. The audio? Honestly, it was like trying to hear Morse code through a colander. But maybe that’s part of the challenge. Maybe trivia should be a little harder. You’re not at a TED Talk, you’re in a pub in a building older than sliced bread. Deal with it. Let’s talk toilets. Specifically, the disabled toilet. Picture this: you sit down, vulnerable, reflective — literally. There's a mirror directly in front of you. The frosted glass window lets in streetlight as if the universe itself wants to witness this sacred moment. A deeply humbling poo. The kind that makes you consider your place in the cosmos. The highlight? A game called Battleshipples. Yes, that's how it's spelled. A wholesome family guessing game based around identifying nipple coordinates on a shirtless man. You know, like Plato intended. Lukeus shouted "Crikey!" at a crocodile when he was meant to shout it at a photo of Steve Irwin. Sam deducted points. I deducted respect. The gods deducted fertility. “That’s how you get pregnant,” someone muttered. Unclear who. Possibly the spirit of the venue itself. We won. Not like “spiritually won” or “had a great time” won. No. We. Won. 1st Place. The Guessperados first 1st place. Fifty-three points. No disputes. No ties. No mercy. The Guessperados finally took the crown after weeks of placing second or third like some sort of intellectual bridesmaids. Aidan went up to collect the prize. So did Nick. They returned empty-handed. Confused. The ritual had failed. They went back. Then back again. Eventually, somehow, victory was exchanged for vouchers. Or validation. Or vodka. Who knows? If you're thinking of going to The Waterloo Hotel for trivia, stop thinking and just go. Bring your weirdest mates. Break a chair. Shout at a crocodile. Make friends with your toilet reflection. You’ll laugh. You’ll learn. You’ll question everything you know about nipple geography. And you might just win. 5/5 stars. Would get existential on the loo again.

The chicken parmy was a generous portion and nicely presented, with fresh chips and salad on the side. The only downside was that it was a little on the expensive side, and the parmy itself lacked a bit of flavour—could have used a stronger sauce or seasoning. Overall, still a satisfying meal.

Went here at 07/10/25 at roughly 1030pm for some beers and pool. Had a group of 12. Tried to order 2 Guiness and 1 espresso martini. Bartender took the order, gave the price of the drink, then bar manager asked the bartender if she knows how to make espresso martini, bartender said she could not. After that she cut me off. It wasnt my fault that the people behind the bar was INCOMPETENT. Whilest playing pool they had a security stationed at us, when we havent done anything.

The Regatta Hotel, a grand Victorian establishment that has been a staple since 1874, offers a variety of vibrant spaces for patrons to enjoy. The Courtyard and The Walrus Club are popular spots for live music and dancing, with the former boasting a charming summer patio ambiance. This iconic Brisbane pub in Toowong is renowned for its historic charm and lively atmosphere. It's also known for serving delicious cocktails like Pimms.
We recently hosted our wedding celebration at The Henley Room at The Regatta Hotel, and it was truly amazing from start to finish. Leah took such great care of us — her communication throughout the planning process was excellent, and her helpful suggestions made everything run smoothly. We requested a 3-course vegan menu, and The Regatta absolutely delivered. The food was incredible — hands down the best vegan meal we’ve ever had — and the service was exceptional all evening. To top it all off, we cut our wedding cake downstairs in The Walrus Club, which was such a unique and memorable way to end the night. The Henley Room is a fantastic venue for small and intimate occasions, and we would recommend it to anyone. We’re also excited to hopefully see some of the incredible vegan dishes make it onto the day-to-day menu at The Regatta!

Beautiful old pub with multiple options for a casual drink or various levels of dining. The courtyard is stunning and provides a lovely ambience. Food was variable - fish and chips was lovely, steak a little disappointing. Parking ok. Access somewhat difficult for mobility impaired (number of steps to be navigated).

We had a group booking and unfortunately the band that was supposed to play all our favourites wasn't on. It was a nice atmosphere with plenty of space. The roof closed when the storm came over so we didnt get wet. It then reopened to get sunshine and fresh air. Beautiful! They didnt have enough bar staff on for the amount of people, but the service was nice. Its a nice easy way to get there and home again using the ferry.

I went to the Melboune Cup Gala expecting much more than they offered. We had to sit out on the balcony, as there were no seats in the air-conditioning. Due to my egg allergy, I was assured before the gala that there was only 1 dish with egg. There was actually only one. dish without egg, which was the lamb koftas ( which were horrible ). When it came to the Melbourne cup telecast, there was one 65-75 inch for over 100 people. There was more atmosphere and space in the tab and public bar so I wish I had stayed there. There was also a big screen for all the flemington races.

Nestled beneath the iconic Story Bridge, the Story Bridge Hotel is a vibrant hub of activity and history in Brisbane. Established in 1886, this renovated hotel offers a delightful mix of prime steaks, burgers, and tapas that cater to every palate. The lively atmosphere is particularly evident in the lush Bridge Garden, where patrons can enjoy live music on Sundays or dance to local DJs on weekends.
Great service, great vibe. The battered barramundi dish was so fresh and the fries were crispy. The crispy skin salmon dish was cooked to perfection, my only suggestion is to probably cook the leek a little long to soften the fibres as it was inedible other than that everything else was beautiful. Lower bench seats for kids and bar stools for the ones with the longer legs 🫨.

DJ Saturday night was good, service too and friendly staff but food let them down. My chilli prawn pizza was more chilli than anything else, barely any prawn pieces at all. Hubby said his steak was good and looking round at others orders, they were big meals but a lot of meals were left unfinished.

When my Mum was still able we always celebrated an early Christmas lunch at the Story Bridge Hotel and loved it. This was our first time back with just the 2 of us and it did not disappoint. In fact we loved it so much we ended up having dinner on the Thursday night, curry night, and breakfast Saturday morning. The curry was delicious with just the right amount of spice and the chicken schnitzel coated in panco breadcrumbs with pepper sauce was tender and moist. A great place to relax, eat and watch the world go by.

I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant before. My friends and I came here to have a nice meal, and even though we were not drinking alcohol and simply ordered food, the staff treated us very poorly because of our age. Instead of offering basic respect, they stood around staring at us, whispering, and even laughing. It was incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassing. We were paying customers who just wanted to enjoy our meal, but the way we were treated made it clear that young people aren’t valued here. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone — no one deserves to be treated that way. Hopefully the management addresses this kind of behavior, because it completely ruined what should have been a simple dining experience.

"The Lord Alfred" is a vibrant pub with multiple lively bars and a grill restaurant that specializes in locally sourced steak. The venue hosted a 21st birthday party at Alfie's Craft House, where the food, atmosphere, and service were exceptional. The events manager, Cara, made organizing the event stress-free. On Wednesdays, guests can enjoy Steak Night with a 250g rump steak meal for great value.
The L.A. delivers outstanding value for money both for meals and drinks. My wife and I dined on a quiet Wed night in mid-Apr. Unbeknown to us, Wed night is “Steak Night”. And what a nice surprise that was! For only 19 pesos you can get a 250g rump with sauce, chips and salad. It didn't take much convincing for us to choose that option. We added a side serve of coleslaw for only 6 pesos, so for 45, we got two steaks with all the trimmings and a coleslaw. And it’s not as if these guys stint on either quality or quantity when they hand out these specials. These were fab steaks, beautifully prepared with love, care and attention to detail. They were well done just the way we like them, and full of taste and flavour, with a spicy pepper sauce for me and a smooth mushroom sauce for my wife. The chips that accompanied the steaks were golden brown and crispy, and the little salads were nutritious and wholesome. The creamy coleslaw rounded off two perfect meals. Serving sizes were generous, and I liked the neat presentation on stylish yellow crockery. We couldn’t have been happier. There were decent drinks deals too. My fav Gage Road Single Fin ale was on special for just 7 a pint, so one of those and a cold drink for my wife cost only 10. Put all that together and for 55 pesos we got two high quality meals and two drinks. You just couldn’t beat that for value for money these days, especially in this era of Weimar Republic-like hyperinflation that we’re enduring, thanks to our government's profligacy and the disastrous decisions of the Reserve Bank. But it’s not just in the food and drink department that these guys excel. We enjoyed everything about our evening, from the fast friendly and polite service to a cool, laid back and relaxed vibe. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the manager, who immediately made us feel welcome. It was fairly empty so we chose a table in the middle of the main dining area. It was a large and comfy wooden table with wooden chairs. Floors are timber, and with strong lighting and white walls, it has a modern look and feel about it. You will also notice how spotlessly clean and well maintained the place is. What I also like about it, is that there’s no confusing, or time consuming app ordering. You just go up to the bar and place your order. Nice and simple. And within less than 15 minutes the meals were on the table, all done with a professional demeanour and a nice smile. Only thing missing was a few more patrons. At one point we were the only guests, although later a large group of rather lively senior citizens arrived, and that did brighten things up a bit. A few groups of young people drifted in and out, most I suspect coming for drinks only. There’s a pleasant but smallish outdoor area where one could sit, and it has views of Caxton Street down below, but I guess that’s only suitable for summer. Being a chilly autumn eve we preferred to sit indoors. Toilets are also clean, well provisioned and easy to find at the back of the bar area, with ample male and female cubicles. Parking can be a bit challenging, but there’s a carpark at The Barracks shopping plaza across the road, where you can get two hours free. And you’ll be able to do your shopping afterwards at the well stocked Coles supermarket and the popular BWS liquor store. I was told by the chatty maître d, that Mon, Tues and Wed are special nights, with Wed night being “Steak Night”. This place deserves to be better patronised and we’ll certainly be back. Thanks guys for a great night.

We loved everything at the Verandah Bar at the Lord Alfred. From enquiry to our wedding reception on Saturday., Cara and the team could not have been more professional and accommodating in the lead up as well as on the day. We had about 40 guests and the Venue Manager ensured that our platters came out to ensure it flowed around what was happening. We had our own decorations and we could set up before the event. James, who manned the bar kept us informed of the bar tab. Food was excellent. The Verandah Bar is also upstairs and so we could have the area to ourselves. Private toilets, private bar, our own music through that area. It was raining on the Saturday but being in the Verandah Bar we could have the doors open, with a beautiful breeze and so our guests could sit inside and outside. Plus a lot of the guests enjoyed pool. It was such a relaxed feel. Our photographer could mingle and then get a great group shot. Afterwards we went downstairs and had a lovey spot in the main bar. We had the very best time and getting married the day before and then having a reception from 11am - 4pm. Then downstairs from 4pm onwards. Whole experience was great.

A quite but inviting venue that leans to.old world charm. A front bar and a more formal eats out back. Bar service were lovely and up for a chat and made great gin suggestions. We can't thank Emma and the team enough for their efforts in hosting our wedding reception in the Leichhardt Room at the Alliance Hotel! We were a little apprehensive when the management changed 4 months before our big day, but everything turned out swimmingly. Emma was on top of it from the get go, and was incredibly supportive, communicative, helpful and flexible during the planning phase and even went to great lengths to ensure we had the right combination of tables to fit all our guests. We had a few minor issues when drinks and food selections were changed last minute by the venue but I would put that down to them working out the kinks of new management. Their function packages are also very reasonably priced. The event went off without a hitch thanks to the incredibly professional and approachable team who were entremely attentive and allowed everyone to have an unbelievably good time. Many guests commented on the amazing service. The food was immaculate, the plating was beautiful and served in a timely fashion. We got so much positive feedback from our guests about enjoying the food. The venue itself is stunning with exposed red brick walls and was the perfect space and atmosphere for our wedding reception. Thank you again to the whole team! Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about the food at The Alliance Hotel! Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The menu has a great variety — from classic pub favourites to more refined options — and everything was beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere in the dining area was cozy yet lively, with a great local vibe. You can tell this place takes pride in both its food and its service. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, a meal at The Alliance Hotel is an absolute must. We’ll definitely be back for more

I came here for dinner with my participant (I’m a support worker). On arrival, instead of a friendly greeting, the first thing I was asked was to show ID. I provided mine, but then they also asked my underage participant, which felt unnecessary. When I explained that I was her carer, I was questioned further about whether I was her legal carer, which was uncomfortable and left me wondering why that was relevant, especially as we were only there for dinner, not drinks. We were eventually seated, but the experience didn’t improve much. We ordered soft drink and steaks, and the food took a long time to come out, despite there only being one other couple waiting. During our meal, no one checked in to see how the food was, and after ordering, we weren’t spoken to again until we paid and left. The atmosphere felt awkward, and overall it wasn’t a welcoming experience.

Only been the once and the service was pretty average from the bar. The food service was fine though. The beer garden looked good and the general feel is quite good. I am deeply disappointment and concerned regarding an experience at the Wickham! My friends and I visit often and have always enjoyed it! However, our most recent visit was incredibly distressing. When we arrived, the performers on stage were making horrible jokes about Jewish people, followed by repeated comments expressing their “love of Palestine” in a way that directly slandered Jews — not political commentary about Israel, but outright antisemitic statements. It was shocking and deeply offensive. As a venue that usually provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for the LGBTI community, it was sad to witness such hatred and prejudice being tolerated. Antisemitism has no place in any space, least of all in one meant for community and celebration. I urge you to investigate this incident seriously and ensure that the Wickham remain safes, inclusive environments for all patrons — regardless of background or belief. So disappointed!

I haven't been here for a while but came mid week for lunch. Ordered the 200g sirloin steak lunch special and was quite impressed. I usually order my steak medium well but it tends to come out more well done than medium so I ordered a medium steak and it was actually perfectly cooked. The chips could have been seasoned a little with some kind of seasoning but all in all it was a decent steak for the price paid. I ordered it with mushroom sauce and I'm usually a gravy person but the mushroom sauce was actually delicious.

My family and I were on holiday around Queensland during July. We were walking around Brisbane and saw Pig and Whistle and thought to give it a try. The customer service was amazing. We were greeted by a young man at the bar who guided us to our seats which was both lovely and very welcoming. Although I didn’t catch his name, we were grateful for his hospitality. Our waitress was no different, she was just as amazing!! Although I cannot remember her name she was of Asian descent and provided the absolute best customer service and was helpful with questions I had. Because of these two amazing workers, we had an amazing dinner and this was a highlight of our time in Brisbane. The food topped it off and was exactly what we needed - hearty and delicious. Went here with my camping group to have a dance. Certainly did that, 5 hours of it. Great music from the DJ. Staff were efficient and really friendly. Long Island Ice Tea was a hit. The cab home at 2.30 am was a lot cheaper than the Uber and more pleasant to deal with.

We both enjoyed the pizza and tikka masala. Big covered outside patio and plenty of indoor seating, The live music was just right, added to the atmosphere but not too loud that we couldn't chat over dinner. QR code on the table is perfect for ordering and paying the bill but it would be nice to have at least one check-in to see if we need anything during the meal.

Live music and good food! Loved my time there. Ordered a steak sandwich for myself and my date had fish and chips. Not gonna lie, I might come back again for another round of beer too.
Lily Y — Google review
We ordered a parmigiana, and most of the edges, as well as the base of it, came burnt. When we returned it to the chef, their response was that this is how it normally comes. Terribly overcooked and we could taste the burnt flavour. Prices were way too high for this level of food, can get a better parmi anywhere else. The redeeming factor of the night was the live music, that was excellent.

Great location. Good atmosphere. Had lunch Friday & was totally disappointed. We ordered two steak sandwiches & chips. The steak was like cardboard. Overcooked in fact burnt at edges & not edible. Was on time limit so did not bring it to the attention of staff. 1st time there & disappointed.

Koala Tavern, located in Capalaba, is a popular and laid-back Brisbane pub with a family-friendly atmosphere. The spacious bistro offers a view of the AstroTurf beer garden and an enclosed playground adorned with koalas and gum leaves. The tavern's generous plates are well-received by locals, and the service is efficient with short wait times. Live music events are held regularly, although ticketed events tend to draw larger crowds.
Came here with the family for a Sunday lunch. There is a large outdoor area out the back with a great playground to keep the kids entertained. Meals are delicious and generously sized - kids and seniors also catered for. Wheelchair accessible throughout, with disability parking available.

1st time here, came for the Status Quo tribute. 12 Gold Bars were awesome! Food was very good, we had the schnitzel which was good size, excellent chips and arancini. Scallops should have been cut from the shell though. Staff were attentive and polite. Only downer was when the show finished, the bars were closed and no where to unwind with a drink except for the pokies area. Parking easy. Overall good evening and we will return for future shows.

Great space to hang out and catch up with friends. A few of us came here after a game to hang out, have a couple drinks and some food. They also have a playground for the little kids and a decent menu

A great place for a family with a kids play area immediately outside. The place has been recently renovated (as at August 2025) and is looking great! Meals and drinks can be ordered by scanning the QR code on the table, which is handy. Food and drinks came out quickly and the chicken parmigiana I had was just awesome! A new local favourite for my wife and I.

Our visit to The Koala Tavern went above and beyond anything we expected, and it was all thanks to the wonderful staff who made the day so memorable. From the moment we booked online, every detail was handled with such care. I’d asked for particular seating for my dad, who has mobility issues, and we were welcomed with big smiles and guided to a perfect table right near the entrance, with space set aside for his walker. That thoughtfulness meant the world to us. What we didn’t realise was that Father’s Day was made even more special by the presence of the “animal guy.” Watching my dad get the chance to see and pat animals he otherwise never would have experienced was truly priceless—it lit him up with so much joy. The food was another highlight: generous portions, delicious quality, and served so quickly despite how busy the day was. Throughout it all, every member of the team was kind, friendly, and attentive, even under the pressure of such a big occasion. We are so grateful to everyone who worked so hard to create such a positive experience. My dad left as a very happy man, and we left with full hearts. We’ll absolutely be returning and recommending The Koala Tavern to family and friends. Thank you for making Father’s Day unforgettable.

Arrived around 7:45pm on a Saturday for dinner!! Nice place to relax and have a meal. Good indoor outdoor flow through the bistro area, we sat inside still had a nice breeze. Not waiting long for food. We had the pasta 🍝 barramundi 🐟 and the best bacon cheese and garlic bread 😍Amazing food & customer service. We will be back 😊

The team at Koala Tavern went above and beyond for our event. They were amazing. We were placed right beside the kids playground, which is outstanding. They constantly checked in to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. We had a party of over 30+ including the kids and were so accomodating. We are so truly grateful that we had our event there. Made life so much easier. Food was amazing as well! They even had a musician playing and then the footy on after. Great vibes.

The was not so special. Value wise was not as good as they charged. Stir fry beef had about 6 beef strips and so much liquid that it was more like a noodle soup. My friend's fish was flavourless.

The Normanby Hotel in Red Hill has recently undergone renovations, making it a popular spot for casual pub-style enjoyment. The venue now features an updated beer garden with a large screen and a sunny cocktail deck. This iconic heritage pub is always bustling, offering a variety of spaces including an outdoor area around a fig tree where patrons can enjoy drinks, pizza, and cocktails. Additionally, the hotel provides options for small weddings or elopements in the garden as well as nine function rooms for larger weddings.
Dear Normanby Team, Nathan and I recently held our wedding celebration at Normanby, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! Everything—from the service to the dinner setup—was perfect, and we truly appreciate how accommodating you were with all our requests. A special thanks to Georgie Offland for managing our event so seamlessly—it was absolutely spot on! We’re also regulars at Normanby since we live just across the road, and we love your weekly specials. Highly recommended! Thanks again for everything!

The Normanby Inn in Brisbane is a heritage-listed gem that beautifully showcases its architecture both inside and out. The building's historical charm adds a unique touch to the overall experience, making it a standout venue in the city. The ambience is lively and welcoming, with the bustling atmosphere of a busy hotel complemented by excellent service across all areas of the establishment. The staff's attentiveness and professionalism contribute to a seamless and enjoyable visit. The food offering is diverse and appealing, though there were some hiccups during the meal. While the variety and presentation were commendable, the steaks were underdone, which might not suit everyone's preference. Additionally, the pie left something to be desired, falling short of expectations. Despite these minor setbacks, the overall dining experience was still pleasant. One of the highlights of the evening was the live artist performing hits on the rear verandah. The music added a vibrant and entertaining element to the night, creating a memorable experience for guests. In summary, the Normanby Inn is a fantastic venue that combines historical charm, great service, and lively entertainment. While the food could use some refinement, the overall experience makes it a worthwhile destination for a night out in Brisbane.

Have been eating their wings for about 10 years since their original shop in New Farm/Valley. I dont ever order any other food so cant speak for anything else. Pricey now compared to back in the day, but worth every bite, especially with their complimentary hot sauces. They used to give you Franks sauce for free as well but charge a dollar now. Beer range is always good.

The playlist lured us in and we’re so glad we made the choice to stay. Perfect Sunday vibe with Everclear, Creed, Shinedown, Jet and so on. Just banger after banger. We got the Sunday special BBQ platter and it was excellent. Self serving beer taps and some great music is the best way to spend your Sunday! NB - if you’re not a UFC fan (as we aren’t), then be prepared to have the fight come on right in the middle of your favourite song. Slight dampener on our time, but if we were UFC fans I’m sure we’d be in heaven!

Love this place!!!! If you’re in south bank and you’re a true craft beer lover, come and pour your own beer. There was a nutcase table behind us being rude to staff who quite calmly had them removed and rightly so… they handled it very professionally and checked on us after. Really friendly crew. Come support your local business who loves beer!

Stopped in for a few drinks with some mates on a Friday evening. The novelty of pouring your own drink is certainly fun. Certainly a good atmosphere and good service from the crew that work there. We didn't have any food so can't speak to that. The drinks could be slightly cheaper given you are pouring your own. However, still definitely recommend going as you do get your money's worth.

I’m sitting here, waiting for my food. I ordered 70 min ago. We’ve asked how long it will be and just received attitude from the server. I had to pay before getting my food, so now I’m sitting in hangry prison. This was probably the worst decision of my life. Update: I had to leave for a business meeting before my food ever arrived. I got a message saying the food was ready 90 min after I ordered. Considering I never ate, this is the worst restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. And the most expensive glass of water I’ve ever purchased. Update 2 (after owner reply): For the readers out there, notice the owner’s response does not have any form of an apology or suggestion of improving. This mirrors the attitude the staff gave us when we were there. Yes, there was a local protest. But the restaurant was 3/4 empty after a 60 min wait for my food, so what was the excuse for the last 30 min? I didn’t write my initial review until 70 min after ordering/paying. Clearly I understood they were busy and was overly patient. They force you to pay before you get your meal, but don’t care about service since they already have your money. Also, the manager should’ve better prepared for a busy lunch given the protest. It’s clearly just a poorly run restaurant with no care for the customer.

Stopped in at Tippler’s Tap in Brisbane the other arvo and honestly, what a cracking spot. The vibe hits you straight away — relaxed, friendly, and full of good energy. We grabbed a couple of pints of their Bright Tropical Tippler Ale, and mate, it went down way too easily. Nice and crisp with just the right hit of fruitiness — perfect for a warm Brissy afternoon. You can tell they take pride in their beer here; every pint tastes fresh and clean off the tap. For food, I went with the Reuben sandwich, and it was absolutely spot on. Generous serve, loaded with tender corned beef, melted cheese, tangy sauerkraut and that perfect bite of dressing — all packed into golden toasted bread. Honestly one of the best Reubens I’ve had in a long time. The staff were super friendly and knew their beers inside out, happy to have a yarn and offer suggestions. Between the top-tier food, excellent brews, and chilled atmosphere, Tippler’s Tap nails the balance between a proper craft beer joint and a laid-back local. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to next time I'm in Brizzy.

HOPE & ANCHOR is a charming restaurant located in Paddington, offering classic fish and chips, hearty burgers, and sandwiches. The cozy cottage-style building exudes a storybook charm, making it an irresistible spot for a quick drink or leisurely dining experience. With daily specials like London-style curry on Wednesdays and lively house parties on Sundays, there's always something exciting happening here. The English-style bar boasts warm and inviting decor with exposed brick and candlelight ambiance.
Words don’t do justice the unparalleled level of food, drink and vibes I’ve experienced at The Hope & Anchor this morning. Greeted with a smile, I, a captain of nothing, ordered the Captain’s Breakfast. Every element of the plate was bursting with flavour. I did not know that a hash brown could be executed so perfectly. I could have had a plate of those hash browns and been in a state of nirvana for the remainder of the day. Maccas hash browns, eat your heart out. Coffee was also the best I’ve consumed in recent memory. Who knew milk could be texturized with such finesse? I entered The Hope & Anchor a mere mortal, I leave feeling like Captain of the world, ready for my next voyage. Thank you and see you happy people again very soon. Fondest, James

Love this local bar and the warm atmosphere, not only from the historic building but also from the staff and locals. The bar is always buzzing with a friendly mix of people and the booths upstairs in the old bakery are cosy and inviting. The street-side bench seats are always a coveted spot to watch the pooch parade on Given Tce and enjoy the sunset over the terraces of Paddington. The bar is decorated with interesting historical artefacts, photos and memorabilia - well worth a closer look! Don’t forget to see the upstairs attic which is perfect for a private dining experience. Oh and did I mention the open fire in winter and the live music in the courtyard??! This joint ticks all the boxes! 😊 Yes the food and drinks are AMAZING.

We visited the pub on a recommendation by a good friend. We ordered a bottle of French rose which was very drinkable. My wifie ordered mussels and they looked plump and delicious. I tasted the broth which matched the mussels perfectly. I tossed between the gold band snapper and Barra burger. It ended up being the burger. It was delicious and very filling. The atmosphere was what one expects from a pub and the place filled up for a lazy Sunday afternoon with live music, food, drinks and a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. XO

Visited the Norman Hotel for the first time and it was a great experience! The steak was juicy and oysters are great. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a nice open garden area to dine in. Portions are generous, and service was friendly and efficient. Prices are on the higher side, but worth it for the quality. A must-visit if you're a steak lover in Brisbane!

I was looking forward to eating here. The atmosphere was great although i personally dont appreciate the smell of cigarette smoke right beside the eatery. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. The food looked amazing but unfortunately I was let down with my $60 eye fillet undercooked and the pepper sauce was too much.

The steamed greens were beautiful 😍 but the Buffalo Wings were a let down. As the chicken were dry, luckily not totally dry, the edges were dry, sauce was lovely, so the chefs need to sort that out. I didn't order Steak, not a steak person and wasn't that hungry. Dry chicken is a No No.

Got the 1.5kg T-Bone share steak. Tallow candle starter a fun thing to do while you wait. Steak was quality, sauces were a bit interesting. Bread rolls awful but all the other sides were fresh and well matched. Potatoes perfect.

I was really disappointed with my meal here. The steak came out almost raw even though it was supposed to be cooked properly — it was red and bloody inside, not appetizing at all. The presentation wasn’t great, and the overall flavor didn’t make up for it. For the price, I expected much better quality and attention to cooking. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place or come back again!!!

⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointed with my visit to the Norman Hotel. Ordered my steak medium — it came out almost raw. Sent it back twice, and it was still undercooked. The only response was a brief “sorry.” For a venue with such a strong reputation for steaks, I expected much better.

We ordered two steaks medium rare. One steak came out almost rare and was edible but the second was way too rare to eat. As a steak restaurant that's well known for quality steaks, that charge the prices they do, you'd expect to be getting what you ask for. We didn't send them back or complain to staff, just won't be coming back. The older barister lady with short blonde hair made great coffee and I was impressed to see her standard cleanliness being upheld, which is a rarity in hospitality these days.

Looking for a place to catch up with family and have lunch, I was told about one of Brisbane’s most iconic pubs, The Ship Inn at South Bank, Brisbane. On arrival, we were greeted with a friendly smile and a welcome. We were given menus and were told I would come back soon and take your order. The meals came out very quickly. They were very well worth the value. The food looked great and tasted even better. This place is open for lunch; dinner and private functions, and events. The atmosphere created in the upstairs function room was magical, with indoor formal dining and a relax outdoor veranda breakout area. The food was of high quality, reasonably priced and enjoyed by all. A private bar was provided on the veranda, so the function was fully self-contained. Used to come here many years ago when they had the half price steaks and two for one steaks on Monday and Tuesday nights. The steaks were juicy and the chips were thick cut and crunchy. However, now they no longer have those deals and only have best value steak (Rump 300g $24.95). The steak was overcooked on the outside and tough. The chips portion was so small (see photos) and was not beer battered like previously, no crunch and was soggy. Very disappointing. Bring back the half price steaks and two for one and improve the chips quality and I may consider returning. The garlic prawns dish was tasty though. Good service and attentive staff.

I had (yet another) subpar dining experience, in fact I've never had what I'd consider a "good" steak from the Cakko, cheap or premium. Recently ordered the 350g porterhouse which was tough, gristly around the edges and clearly overcooked. Coleslaw was bland & tasteless. $8 for 6 overcooked & also tasteless onion rings, mostly small. The mushroom sauce was ok. Overall not good value for money. Service was efficient & friendly as usual.

Irish Murphy's is a classic Irish-themed pub located in the heart of Brisbane's CBD. The wooden decor and extensive collection of Irish knick-knacks create an authentic atmosphere reminiscent of Dublin. This lively pub features local musicians performing daily, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a pint and some live music. Additionally, Irish Murphy's offers casino gaming with about 60 pokies and virtual table machines, providing a quality gambling experience without the crowds.
Irish Murphy’s was a great spot! The food was delicious, though I wish they’d asked how we liked our steak cooked, and the extra $2 here and there to swap chips for mash felt a bit much. The Guinness was perfect, and the atmosphere was lively and authentic—definitely added to the experience!

Irish Murphy’s is an easy-to-access public bar in central Brisbane at the business area, George Street, offering a classic Irish vibe with live music on select days. The place is quite spacious, with plenty of tables and cozy side seating. Their drink menu features a decent range of beers, ales, and ciders, along with a fair whiskey selection. Staff are friendly and welcoming, adding to the laid-back atmosphere. While the drinks are enjoyable, the food doesn’t stand out, and prices lean slightly on the higher side. A good spot for drinks and music, less so if you’re after a memorable meal.

Can't fault Irish Murphy's, everything that I expect from a Brizzy CBD pub. Easy access off Elizabeth Street, plenty of bar/ table seating options. Dark and cool which is what we felt like on a warmish Saturday arvo. Wide range of beers on tap, usual menu suspects. Chips were good, if they are not a major food group then they ought to be. Be aware the Murphy's on tape is not a dark beer as you might expect. Still good though.

The Guinness is awful! look at the state of it, and it’s at least $15, also the staff can be either great or the most ignorant rudest people you will ever come across. It’s hit and miss all the time.

I've been to Irish Murphy's a few times and it's a really great pub style restaurant. On my most recent visit, I ordered the loaded wedges, which were super tasty and generous in size. Loaded with slow cooked beef, jalapenos, sauce and cheese. Very very tasty and only $22. They also have a large selection of drinks and often have live music, which is awesome. Highly recommend if you're after a decent pub located in the city.

I love coming here when it's not so busy. This vegetarian Shepherd's Pie is just the BEST. Washed down with a pint of Guinness and it's perfect.

Great place to stop, watch some sports and have a feed. We came here as part of our Christmas Party and ended up playing some beer pong out the back! The staff were accommodating, welcoming and enjoyed our company. It was a good way to spend the day and we thank Irish Murphy's for allowing us to have a good time! Cheers!

Located in a heritage-listed building in Fortitude Valley, Stone & Wood Brewery Brisbane offers a wide selection of craft beers on tap, including their popular Pacific Ale and Green Coast Lager. In addition to their classic brews, the brewery also features an exclusive range of Brisbane beers brewed on-site. For non-beer drinkers, the menu includes gin and tonics, ginger beers, seltzers, and Australian wines.
The beer was also great and the staff was really friendly. I bought a t-shirt and a bottle opener there and they were reasonably priced and when you buy a tasting beer, they explain each one and recommend the beers to you in order of alcohol content.

This time we ordered the – Hazy Pale Ale ($13) – Big Pale Ale ($13) – Pork Schnitzel ($26) The total came up to $52, so all taxes were already included in the price on the menu. We must say that we loved everything at Stone & Wood Brewery. This is usually not the case. Sometimes the beers are good while the food not so much. But this time at Stone & Wood Brewery Brisbane, we totally enjoyed the Hazy Pale Ale ($13 – pint) which had the woody aroma with light hoppy and tropical juicy tastes – the type of hazy pale ale that we love. Of course our favourite Hazy Pale Ale has got to be the Cornerstone Tap Room Haze of Glory IPA in Taupo – unforgettable. The Big Pale Ale ($13 – pint) was gassier but had a more robust hoppy taste to it. Both ales were excellent! As for the food, we had the Pork Schnitzel ($26). The rendition of Pork Schnitzel at Stone & Wood Brewery was probably one of the best we’ve had, including the ones we’ve had in Germany. There are 2 reasons, we think, are the secret to this dish. Firstly, the pork was very well marinated. You could taste that there was some work into preparing the taste and tenderness of the meat prior. Secondly, the bread crumb coating was delicious. Together, it had a sweetness and smokiness to it. The light buttery mushroom sauce topped off this dish. On the sides, we also love the salad. There was some spring onions which added the extra crunch and was accompanied by an enticing light vinegar fragrance. Everything came together pretty well we must say. Ben and the team were incredible to talk to in the lead up to our event. So friendly, answered all questions and were so calm and chilled out but super organised! Nothing was a bother at all. I also cannot say how incredible it is to have such an accessible venue in the city. We will absolutely be back!!!

Staff were really nice and friendly as well as helpful. The beers are definitely not meant to be missed here. Almost all of the beers brewed at the location are delicious and consumable. The food was great especially the lamb burger and wagyu burger. Also the venue had a small section with a wide range of merchandise with some very good deals.

Had the brewery tour and it was awesome! Even my partner had an amazing time and she hates beer!

If you like beer, you should really enjoy Stone & Wood. Although now owned by a major, none of the beer recipes have changed! Which means enthusiastic brewers keep making cracking beers. The staff were fantastic, taking the time (it wasn't flat out) to have a chat regarding the brewing, and the 'green' credentials of Stone & Wood. If like me you're a beer nut from interstate, definitely check this place out 👍🍻 And yes there is food, but we didn't partake, so can't review.

The Glen Hotel in Eight Mile Plains is a vibrant and popular family restaurant known for its excellent food, great service, and spacious environment for kids to play. It offers casual and upscale dining options suitable for both adults and children. The restaurant provides delicious meals with generous portions, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians. While the outdoor area can get loud with large groups, booking an indoor table can provide a more intimate dining experience.
Went on a family lunch on Sunday. Great atmosphere with the outdoor area mainly undercover, with lots of plants and greenery. On Sunday afternoon, they had a really good one-man-band on guitar & vocals doing covers. There are also outdoor heaters dotted around so we stayed nice and warm on a cooler day. Very atmospheric with great vibes and there is a kids play area too. Great pub food & cocktails, a really nice way to catch up with friends and family.

Wow first time visiting The Glen Hotel and I was blown away at their layout. Service was outstanding. Food was outstanding. I will definitely be back and this will become our new regular spot to visit. Plenty of parking for all vehicles. We have tall 4wd and they had ample parking for all heights. Can’t wait to come back and try the main menu as we just tried the pizzas.

We visited The Glen Hotel to celebrate my friend’s 70th birthday, and it was absolutely wonderful! The food was delicious, the cakes and coffee were fantastic, but what truly made the experience special was the outstanding service. A lovely young lady at the reception desk went above and beyond, not only welcoming us but also taking our coffee and cake order with such kindness. Another young lady served us the cakes with a genuine smile and care that made my friend’s celebration feel extra special. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch their names as they weren’t wearing name tags, but they both helped make it a perfect afternoon. Highly recommend this place for any special occasion — or just to enjoy great food, coffee, and exceptional service! 😊☕🍰

Was served by Cordy today and was an absolute legend. I’m from the city so i’m a bit of an alcohol snob but she paired us with the best beers and then made us legit one of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. It’s our first time here celebrating a couple’s going away drinks and we’re a group of 21, and cordy by herself has made the experience so worth it that most of us will become regulars. Hands down the best service i’ve had for a while, she’s clearly an asset to the company and is of great value. Will be back with even more mates next time bless up x

The Glen is a regular catch up place for us. We meet friends for dinner as often as we can. The “small plate” menu is an excellent idea. I had the fish Tacos last night. More than enough. Tho’ perhaps the earlier serve of very tasty garlic bread had a bit to do with it.😁 The staff is very well trained. A credit to the manager.

We had lunch at Lily Restaurant today and were very disappointed with the service. First, the baby high chair was extremely dirty. I was holding my baby while waiting for a waitress who said she would clean it, but she never came back — she just turned around and started chatting with her colleague. If she didn’t want to help, she could have told me instead of wasting my time. Then, although our booking was for 16 people and we came with 4 extra guests, we only asked for a few more chairs to sit closer together. The staff refused and told us we couldn’t sit because we only booked for 16 people — even though there were plenty of empty chairs around and no one came until we left. When I tried to ask for water, one waitress saw me and ignored me. Another said she would help but also went back to chatting. It was unbelievable. The only person who seemed to care was the manager, who was the only one working seriously and eventually helped us fill our water. Really appreciate his effort. I am very disappointed with the unprofessional attitude of the others staff today. If they are not willing to work or serve customers properly, they should quit the job. Very disappointed overall — we won’t be coming back and definitely don’t recommend this place.

Went for dinner yes we were late and they held table which was fantastic but it ended there . Food mediocre at best meals for 6 people came out sporadically even after they asked if I want my entree served with everyone's mains. Price over 209 dollars compared to better service and food at Browns Plains hotel for 7 at 74 dollars kids eat free Birthday added to booking no staff asked anything mentioned birthday asked if we had cake nothing wast of time and money never going back.

Just go anywhere other than here if plan on having a larger booking or even someone with a disability coming with you. I requested 3 times to be put in an area where there is aircon (as we had someone with a disability with us who is heavily affected by the heat) which they assured me they would but when we arrived they put us outside in the heat. we arrived at 11:30 they told us we have til 1:30 as there was another booking after us I said that was fine. They brought our drinks over and informed us again that there’s another booking after us at 1:30 so be sure we are done by then. We order our food and when they bring it to us they again for the third time tell us that there’s a booking after us at 1:30 so be sure we are done by then. We also had a cake which they said when we are ready to let them know. 12:30 comes we just finish our meals and they come over and ask us if we want the cake when I told them not to mention it due to it being for one of the people with us but they come over very loudly mention the cake spoiling the suprise. They bring the cake out at 12:45 and again for the fourth time remind us we need to be out by 1:30 as there’s another booking. At this point we are all done and tired of not only the pushing us out from the moment we got there but also the poor service, mediocre food and very disgusting environment. As we get ready to leave a person with us (who has a disability) has a complete meltdown as it was extremely hot (hence why I asked to be in a aircon area of the restaurant) and every single person including staff stopped in their tracks and stared. The staff at this point thought it was a fantastic time to once again come over for the fifth time to tell us that there’s another table booked after us as it was 12:55 at this point I made it very known that we have been told multiple times. As I was walking out with the person in our group (who has a disability) to see them off as they were very overwhelmed they said thanks for coming I said my things were still inside and I will be grabbing them I’m just seeing that person out. I come back in to grab the persons things as they forgot them and once again they say thank you for coming I again say I’m not leaving yet just seeing the person off. Needless to say it was the most disgusting service I’ve ever experienced. The first and last time we will ever go to the glen. As for food half of us has bland food and the rest of us has meals that tasted like a cup of salt was pour on it. Biggest waste of money as most of us didn’t even finish our food.

Nestled at the intersection of West End and South Brisbane, The Charming Squire is a captivating destination that beautifully marries history with modern craft brewing. This expansive venue boasts high ceilings adorned with timber decor, creating an inviting atmosphere for beer enthusiasts. Inspired by James Squire, Australia's first brewer from 1787, the establishment offers a diverse selection of his renowned craft beers and ciders on tap.
Great place for a beer and some food. Plenty of seating, food was great. Right opposite QPAC if you’re heading to the theatre. QR code available to order. It said there was a 35 minute wait on food but mine arrived in about 20 minutes. I have the wood fired lamb kebabs and they were delicious. Music from Thursday to Sundays which also added to ambience. I will definitely visit again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A group of ladies and I meet once a quarter to see a show at QPAC, and The Charming Squire has become our go-to spot for dinner beforehand. It’s conveniently close, the food is always reliable, and the atmosphere is fantastic — lively but still comfortable enough to chat and relax. Sometimes we dine in the more formal restaurant area, other times in the casual bar — and on this occasion, it was in the bar area. The service was friendly and efficient, and the vibe was just right for a pre-show dinner. I had the pan-fried gnocchi with mushrooms and sage, which was absolutely delicious! Consistently great food, welcoming staff, and a perfect South Bank location — we’ll definitely be back next time. Bookings are essential in my experience on Fridays, and the weekend to avoid disappointment, particularly if there's more than 4 people.

Unfortunately, the blonde waitress at the bar when we went to ask for a jug of water and glasses was so rude and obnoxious that it marred the whole dining experience. The other 2 servers who brought out food were good but couldn't make up for the appalling service to start. The food was ok and what you'd expect from a pub. The craft beer is the reason why we dined here. Saying that though there's plenty of brewhouses to choose from and nothing special about this one. Unlikely to eat here again.

Disgusted is an understatement. We attended on a Sunday evening before a show at qpac. The service was not great at all but the bathrooms topped it. I showed the manager who said " we didn't do it" no one said you did but when our steak is 65 plus and a cocktail 26 plus on a Sunday and your not busy....clean up your bathrooms seriously.

We really enjoyed our visit on Thursday night. All three courses were very flavourful. Kristyna took good care of us and checked on us to make sure we were happy. Great way to start a date night before heading the a show across th road at Qpac.

The Charming Squire has appalling customer service and are a complete rip off. My partner and I visited the bar for a drink a couple of weeks ago. I paid for a beer and a gin and tonic on my card. The barman came to our table afterwards and said that it hadn’t gone through. We paid again and then I looked on my banking app only to find that the transaction had gone through and was ‘pending’. When I showed the barman he said ‘Don’t worry it will bounce back and if it doesn’t, just let us know and we’ll refund you”. Surely enough, a couple of days later, the money went through. I emailed to explain the situation with screen shots of my banking and a description of the barman, but got no response whatsoever. I then rang and spoke to who I believe was the manager, who acknowledged that he had seen the email but hadn’t responded. He then asked what I meant when I had explained that the initial transaction was pending but then went through. There was no apology for the error, only a terse comment that he would look into it. He clearly didn’t because after a week, there was still no contact. I emailed again requesting a response even if they were going to refuse to pay me the money that was owed. I heard nothing back. The Charming Squire has a lack of basic customer service and obviously didn’t even take the two minutes it would have taken, to verify what had happened with the barman. Over $60 for one beer, one gin and terrible customer service from management means that we will never go back to this bar and would strongly encourage all who visit to check what they pay very closely. I’m not sure if this is a scam (saying payments don’t go through so you tap again) or just laziness, but I just cannot understand why no one was willing to look into this.

Could not fault anything from the time we arrived till we left. The service was top notch and the food? (WOW!) Within an hour, we had an entree, main course and desert. The girl who served our table was A+ and never left us waiting. Real quick and friendly service, so we gave her a well deserved $50 tip. Thank you for an enjoyable and memorable dinner.
Arney S — Google review
We attended as a party of 5 on a Thursday night. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, it took nearly 5 minutes for the attendants to find us somewhere to sit, while they squabbled with each other in front of us. Again, despite the place being almost empty, it took nearly 15 minutes for the attendant to return and take our orders, during which time she was condescending and quite rude, and knew very little about the menu and how the food would be presented, as in accompanying salad, veges etc. It seemed you had to order your main meal, and pay extra for any accompanying sides of veges, potatoes or fries. We ordered roast potatoes. After waiting a further 15 minutes for our drink order (2 beers and 2 glasses of wine), I went to see what was taking so long. I was greeted by our attendant who was surly, defensive and unapologetic. The food, when it arrived was ok, but it came with roast potatoes. So we had meat, a couple of wilted spinach leaves and so many roast potatoes that we left most of our side order untouched. If only there had been someone there who could have told us the dishes came with roast potatoes. All in all, a very disappointing experience. We won’t be back, and won’t be recommending.

The food was amazing, my steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked just how I like it. The chips were also great and well-seasoned. Review: Victory Hotel, Brisbane Located in the heart of Brisbane’s business district, the Victory Hotel is a public bar with a touch of history, once a hotel, its name honours England’s famed warship under Admiral Nelson. The interior carries a pleasant 1950s vibe, with plenty of tables and side seating for groups or solo visitors. It offers a decent range of beers, ales, and ciders, though food and drink prices are slightly on the higher side. Still, the overall experience is good, making it a reliable stop for a relaxed drink in the city.

My experience at the Victory hotel wasn't as good as I expected. When ordering my meal and a drink from the bar, the woman struggled a bit to understand and looked like she was struggling with the till. The steak was not very good, very tough, and had no flavour, that said the rest of the meal was great. The atmosphere of the venue was really good. i will return hopefully the steak is good most the time.

Don’t know if the staff are drunk, clueless, or just straight up inhospitable. I honestly don’t know what’s worse. What does this promo say to you: “Jäger WITH any beer”? Because to me — and any normal person — that means a shot next to a beer. Ive been here before and they actually did what the sign said. Now? If the bartender can’t read, tough shit x

Great Atmosphere, a True West End Gem The Boundary Hotel in West End is a standout venue that beautifully blends its historic charm with a modern and vibrant atmosphere. With its variety of spaces, including a lively public bar, a more relaxed beer garden, and a fantastic rooftop bar, there's a spot to suit almost any mood or occasion. The food menu offers a good range of upmarket pub fare. On our visit, the steak was a definite highlight, cooked perfectly to the medium-rare we requested. The fish and chips were also excellent, with a generous portion size and fantastic flavour. The only slight letdown was the risotto, which, while tasty, was a bit small in size. Service was generally friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and were attentive to customer needs. Overall, The Boundary Hotel is a top choice in West End for a great meal, a casual drink, or a night out with friends. Its fantastic atmosphere, excellent food, and versatile spaces make it a reliable and enjoyable destination. It's a solid 4-star experience, and we'll certainly be back.

She always had a smile when serving customers including myself and has a friendly and very approachable vibe about her and doesn’t make you feel like your interrupting her day😄😄

Had a lovely time here. Charmain was just an absolutely bloody amazing woman and bartender the best I’ve come across, and I’ve been to a lot of pubs, I can tell you that much. Any pub with this woman should be grateful. Thanks for the great time, Brunswick can’t wait to be back

The Royal Exchange Hotel, located in Toowong, Queensland, is a Victorian-era hotel offering a cozy pub atmosphere with quiz nights, sports on TV, and classic pub food. It's conveniently close to Toowong station and the University of Queensland campus. The hotel features a large beer garden and plenty of screens for sports enthusiasts. Customers praise the tasty and generously portioned pub food, including steaks and chicken wings.
My expectations were set high for the RE from what I heard from my mates, my expectations were shot out of the water, I came on grand final night and the service was impeccable despite how insanely busy it was. I want to specifically thank Makayla and Shannon for their hard work and kindness while serving everyone, the massive amount of customers would be overwhelming for anyone, but these girls handled the rush with an upbeat attitude, perfect service and professionalism. Every serving was timely and kind, and it cannot go unnoticed how hard these girls worked tonight. I would recommend this pub to anyone and everyone!

Pretty cool place to hangout with your buddies. Food here is mouth leaking. Good offers on tap beers everytime. Fun part - You can play your own music at the venue right from your phone 😉

The sexist security guard let every single one of my male friends who were significantly more intoxicated than me and my female counterparts into the establishment whilst consistently insisting we were “blind” after having three drinks. They continued this charade, with the manager insisting he didn’t have any idea of what was going on and being rude and dismissive of the whole thing. Despite being a second year college student I will not be back to this misogynistic establishment with the extremely sexist security guards. I’ve had some awesome nights here but I am so disappointed and will be passing this whole thing onto the college community. For a dive bar they sure do have a misogynistic and messed up view on the college community.

The worst place i have ever been too, first and last for our group of 8 for dinner. I told them when I booked online that I'm in a wheelchair and will have a baby in in a pram. Most tablets were high with stools. We had to sit right in front of the singer. It was so loud we couldn't relax and talk. The only good thing was the food was worth the wait.

First time going here. Went there for lunch and all I could smell is cigarette smoke in the restaurant. They need to enclose the area so the smell does not go into the eating area. Apart from that the food was awesome, steak was cooked perfectly

Our first visit to the Royal on a quiet Sunday night in April, was for drinks and a meal, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. It was good to see that these guys take their Covid-19 safety responsibilities seriously, with sign-in required and masks “de rigueur” at all times while moving around in the pub. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, and everything ran smoothly for us from beginning to end. After drinks, we went back to the bar counter, where Chloe took our order of beer battered fish and chips, a rump steak with chips and vegetables and a serving of garlic bread for an entree. It took only a few minutes from time of ordering, until the meals were delivered to our table, in the correct order, and nicely presented on stylish, modern crockery. First came the garlic bread, followed by the two main meals. The garlic bread was a generous serve, with four chunky pieces of light and fluffy bread, smothered in creamy, moist garlic butter. The perfect way to start a meal. My fish was succulent and tender, and served with a nice selection of colourful vegetables and crispy chips. My wife’s rump was tasty and well cooked, just the way she likes it, and accompanied with a tangy mushroom sauce to spice it up, plus chips, and a serving of fresh, wholesome salad. We both enjoyed our meals, and at $53 for the lot, excellent value for money. The Royal is a spacious and airy venue, with lots of room to spread out and large comfy tables with high bar-stool style seating. There are plenty of TVs around the place for those who like their sport, but overall, although not sports-lovers, we still found the ambience to be perfect for us: casual, laid back and relaxed. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in this pleasant, homely and safe atmosphere. There are two lots of toilets, both clearly signposted and easy to find. Like the rest of the place, they’re clean and well provisioned. Having just recently moved to this area, I’m pleased that we’ve discovered the Royal, which will be our local pub from now on! And it’s a breeze to get to by public transport or car, being conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the popular Toowong Shopping Village, where you can enjoy two hours free parking any week day, or unlimited free weekend parking after 6.00pm.

The Transcontinental Hotel is a historic 19th-century pub in Brisbane, offering a unique experience with its craft beer bar, gaming room, and classic bistro. Following a custom renovation in 2014, the venue has been restored to its Victorian charm, making it an ideal setting for weddings. The hotel's service is exceptional and the cuisine, prepared by renowned head chef Rob Campbell, is artfully presented.
We recently held a networking event at the Transcontinental Hotel and it was a fantastic experience. The venue was well-equipped, with a microphone and TV provided for our presentation, which made things run smoothly. The food was excellent, and the location is perfect—right across from Roma Street Station, making it super convenient for attendees. I don’t remember the bartender’s name, but she was incredibly helpful and engaging, adding to the welcoming atmosphere of the night. Highly recommended for hosting professional events!

This is a great venue in the city near the rail station. Good for special occasions, group functions or just watching the footy on the weekend. They have weekly lunch specials too. There are pokies. This venue boasts both inside and outside dinning.

A overall good experience here on a spontaneous trip to Roma St Parklands which found my husband and I needing dinner. With me being a vegetarian it’s always the first thing we check out on a menu and classic veg lasagne is always a fave of mine. This was nice with thought and seasoning gone into it and the chips were very well cooked and seasoned too. My hubby had the John Dory special and he enjoyed it. The atmosphere and feel was pleasant, clean, and understated and the service friendly.

Live music was so loud and not even good to listen to. The guy was trying hard and speakers were blaring. We couldn't even talk properly and yet we were way at the back of the hall. The food came out quite fast. But the taste were average. When booked online, it was as if going to be packed with people and if we didn't get there on time they will wait for 10min and will give our booking to someone else. We rushed out of the airport and got there 15min earlier than our appointed time and only to be told we could sit whatever table we want to & there were empty tables everywhere.

Decided to go somewhere different for Lunch. The Fish and Chips were excellent large portions, and for me who prefers skinny fries, these were the best Fat Fries I had in a long time. The Chicken Parmigiana was excellent, piping hot, the homemade tomato sauce may have benefited from a pinch of sugar, otherwise excellent. Attentive staff.
Jack B — Google review
We had dinner at QA hotel last night. The food was ok but not great. We had the chicken schnitzel for our kids and the chicken parmigiana. That was ok. But we also ordered the snapper which was over cooked and dry and the skin was soggy… the flavour was nice but unfortunately the execution ruined it. The red curry chicken was overwhelmingly full of spices that it was difficult to identify what was in it… I am allergic to shellfish especially prawns, shrimp and calamari and we are pretty sure that there was either prawn or shrinmp in the dish. There was no description of having any of it in the menu so my husband who ordered that for himself gave me a try and with just a tiny try I when red and started having symptoms of an allergic reaction luckily it was a tiny try and I had medication as I was struggling to breathe. I spent all night wheezing but thankfully I didn’t end up in the ED…. The place has potential as it looks nice and the service was friendly and professional.

Had lunch here today. I booked a table but probably wasn’t necessary. Plenty of tables. Menu was excellent with lots to choose from. Our table of 3 had the BLAT, Thai red curry & southern fried chicken burger. All were of a generous portions and tasted awesome. Staff were lovely. Wasn’t too busy at lunch & easy to get drinks from the bar. Would highly recommend.

The food, service and atmosphere are always exceptional, I have been coming here for the past 12 months and I have never had a bad meal, the steak is drooling good, a must try. The manager James and his team always go out of their way to make sure your experience at The Queens Arms is enjoyable and memorable. In my opinion this is one of the best venues on the coast from family friendly dining to watching your favourite sporting event, if you haven’t already been, I highly recommend you do.

Last night after work we went the QA for a quick bite to eat. Historically, as a (now) non-drinker a pub isn’t my go to, but I was too tired to think of anywhere else. We parked in the carpark accessed via the side street and entered through the SAGE hotel lifts, through the main doors and it seemed like the whole of Brisbane was there… undeterred by the grand final vibe we easily found a seat in the restaurant area and ordered via the app. Note: V doesn’t mean vegetarian for the chicken pasta dish but we move on… Drinks are only available from the bar (not the app) which is good considering the vibe. The bar staff were lovely, no lines and delivered the drinks quickly. We ordered the food via the app and before we could get a quarter way through the drink our pasta, pizza and veggie burger arrived. The prawn, chorizo and chilli pasta was OUTSTANDING, not your normal pub food, who ever created this delicious dish deserves a medal 🥇. Would have loved to see no tails on the prawns in red pasta sauce (I’m not a eat food with my hands guy or skilled enough to use a knife to pry out the last bit of a delicious prawn) but overall, the meal of the month. Bravo The veggie burger was a burger, great bun, the patty didn’t set the world on fire or bring offence. Delicious mushroom (fungi) pizza was also delicious. I think you can clearly see the winner in this trio 👌

The Heart of the QA: Exceptional Staff Who Feel Like Family What truly sets the QA Hotel on James Street apart isn't just its beautiful interior or great drinks - it's the absolutely incredible staff who transform a simple pub visit into a memorable experience. Walking into the QA feels less like entering a venue and more like dropping by a friend's living room. The Personal Touch The bartenders here aren't just serving drinks; they're creating connections. They remember your name, your preferred drink, and have a knack for making conversation that feels genuine and warm. Whether you're a local regular or first-time visitor, you're immediately made to feel welcome. Staff Highlights - Bartenders who craft cocktails with personality and skill - Servers who know the menu inside out and offer genuine recommendations - A team that reads the room and adapts to each customer's mood - Genuine laughter and authentic interactions that make you want to stay Why They're Special It's not just about technical skill - though they certainly have that. It's about the way they make you feel. A drink at the QA isn't just a transaction; it's an experience. They turn an ordinary evening into something special, with wit, warmth, and a genuine passion for hospitality. The staff are the true magic of the QA Hotel - turning a simple pub into a home away from home.

Visited over the weekend for dinner. The food looked great, and we had no issues with it. The staff service was satisfactory. However, there was a strong, unpleasant smell from the bar area that nearly prompted us to leave. Since we had already ordered, my friends and I stayed and had to fight through it. Unsure if someone had recently vomited everywhere but staff told me it’s the venue itself that smells like this.

Crown Hotel is a long-standing, family-owned pub in Brissy that has been serving locals for 140 years. Following a recent renovation, the establishment now features a lively beer garden, bistro, and bar. Guests can enjoy live music on weekends and partake in various events such as Drag Bingos, Sunday Jazz, Steak Night, and Trivia Night. The menu offers a mix of traditional pub fare and modern dishes to cater to diverse tastes.
I was really impressed with the Crown Hotel in Lutwyche. It’s been around forever, but the recent renovation has totally brought it back to life. You still get that old-school charm but now it’s got a fresh, modern vibe that works really well. The beer garden is awesome: spacious, leafy, and perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. There’s a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, and the layout feels open but still cozy. You can tell they’ve put thought into the design without making it feel overdone. The food surprised me in the best way. It’s classic pub grub but done properly. The menu has a good variety, including vegan and gluten-free options, which is great to see. It’s the kind of place where everyone at the table can find something they’re happy with. The staff were friendly and down to earth, which always makes a big difference. We didn’t have to wait long for anything, and even when it got busy, service still felt smooth and relaxed. All in all, it’s a solid local that’s had a really nice upgrade. Whether you’re catching up with friends over a few drinks, grabbing a casual meal or watching the footy in the bar, it’s just an easy place to enjoy yourself. I’ll definitely be back. Forgot to take photos of the food this time as it looked too good so I dug straight in! I ordered the ‘chicken supreme’ for lunch, and will definitely be ordering again next time I visit this hotel. The pumpkin purée was absolutely divine & the chicken was cooked perfectly. All other meals looked amazing & the rest of my family was also very happy with their meals. Plenty of parking available on site. Great service. Amazing atmosphere, beautiful beer garden downstairs & a talented jazz band was playing when we visited on Sunday afternoon. The decor is also beautiful, also love the bring the outdoors ‘in’ with all of the plants & greenery inside the restaurant! 🪴 Perfect place for a Sunday afternoon session! Love the vibe here. Have been happy with all 3 visits I’ve made here over the last 10 months, will be back soon! 💛

The Jubilee Hotel, located in Bowen Hills, has recently undergone a complete restoration and now stands as a modern yet heritage hotel complex. The airy pub offers a bright covered dining area with ample seating, a convenient bar and food servery, and excellent service. While not the cheapest option, the venue provides great value for its quality food and beverages. It's an ideal spot to meet up with friends, although it can get quite popular during lunchtimes.
Blown away by this place and not sure how I never knew about it until now! We stopped in with a big group for a friend’s birthday, and it was my first time here. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the perfect vibe—especially the open space at the back with the bar and big TV, which created a relaxed, chill hangout spot. We were there for a late lunch, and the ordering process was a breeze. The staff was friendly, everything was super accessible and the food options were amazing. We each tried different dishes, and every single one was delicious and served right on time. The amenities were pretty much spotless, and you could tell attention to detail is a priority here. Had a great convo with the friendly bar staff too. Not sure if they recently revamped the place, but it’s absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to plan to come back for another catchup! Highly recommend!

Well this place has changed!! Suggested the Jubilee as a “great pub meal” but haven’t eaten here in many years. So it was a truly breathtaking experience to step out to the back and see the refurbishment. Really bright and inviting, clean and sharp? but still has its pub feel. Food was really excellent. Wood fired pizza is enough for two people if you add a salad; but it’s so tasty you’d be forgiven for finishing a whole one. Steaks were cooked to perfection. You can order at the bar, or scan a code and order straight from your table. Giant televisions weren’t too loud (or maybe were on silent?) so dinner conversation was still easy. Great spot. We’ll return!

The Rose & Crown has recently undergone renovations and the results are impressive. The atmosphere is welcoming, with friendly staff and a great selection of drinks including well-poured Guinness and in-house cask lager. The food is delicious, with options like pork sausage roll, chips, pork scratchings, Mushroom and Walnut Linguine, and a satisfying Sunday roast with perfectly cooked roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. The venue captures the essence of an English pub with a great atmosphere.
We have been visiting from out of town and were looking for a nice roast meal so decided to try here. We found a little gem here in Brissy and will definitely be back. The roast chicken and veg was devine. The home made gravy and Yorkshire pudding just topped the meal off. My friends had the fish and chips and it was beautiful and not greasy. We will definitely be back as we are here for work for another 5 weeks. The staff were friendly and accommodating also.

We had a very nice Sunday Roast at the Rose & Crown. Only comment is that the portion could have perhaps been a little bigger, roasties a little crispier and cauliflower cheese a bit cheesier! Otherwise delicious. We also ordered a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Unfortunately as the kitchen was closing it had been sat out for a while so the ice cream was very melted but the pudding was cold. Overall enjoyed, just a shame about the dessert.

Nestled along the iconic Brisbane River, Riverbar & Kitchen is a breezy waterfront restaurant offering inventive cocktails and creative global cuisine. With its alfresco dining and stunning views, it's the perfect spot for breakfast, afternoon drinks, or dinner under the stars. The menu caters to various dietary preferences including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options.
Pretty amazing birthday experience at a popular riverside location. Although they have a QR code system, they're happy to take an order at the counter (unlike some places..) Porkchops were genuinely awesome, most places screw these up. This one had a great char and was super juicy. Tiramisu was divine. Only complaint was that the ravioli was super oily, it was an oil based.. thing but not much balance. Cocktails were interesting and delicious!! This "Pink Floss" one was vodka based and very well mixed, coming from someone who isnt a big vodka fan. Staff were welcoming and helpful, when I asked for mayonaise they brought out a selection of dipping bowls for me to choose because they didnt have plain old mayo. Would come here again with friends.

Nice atmosphere and view of story bridge. The food was really good, the calamari was really good with the dip. The only downside was the wait time for the food. Also I ordered a coke zero, which is a simple drink, and took a looong time to come. Aside from that, it was a great value for the food and view

Food was commercial and not overly tasty. Went for work gathering and had tapas. The amount of food for people was good but not all was enjoyable. Lacked serving spoons and some were not enjoyable. Understand that this comes down to choice from a coordination point of view. The location was great, and being on the river was spectacular. The toilets are shared with the public so there may be delays.
Deliah O — Google review
A nice location however sadly that doesn’t make up for the food or the service. The beef burger was pretty bland with an overwhelming taste of cheese and sauce but the patty was super dry and chips left begging for seasoning. To be fair, the chips were well cooked but were left begging for some salt and considering the cost of the meal, was overall disappointing. The pizza wasn’t amazing either with the outside crust quite nice but was undercooked in the centre. Despite the lack of flavour and being undercooked, the biggest problem was it was dripping in oil. The service was pretty dismal. Although all ordered at the same time, the drink arrived just in time for the final chip. At least it made it easy to wash down. The cleanliness was a bit of a problem but at least the birds got to enjoy one of the chips that the staff had dropped when serving. Overall my thoughts on Riverbar was it’s one of those restaurants that concentrated on location, want to charge people top dollar but end up being a complete disappointment.
Grant K — Google review
Sorry, we didn’t take any pictures. It’s a nice place with beautiful views, and the staff were lovely, especially the Brazilian waiters, who were super friendly. The service was quick, and the tables and overall setup were nice. That said, the food felt overpriced for the flavour. Nothing particularly special, so in the end you’re really paying more for the environment than the meal itself. It was a nice experience overall, but if we were just looking for good food, I wouldn’t choose this place again.

We had a wonderful experience at Riverbar and Kitchen this past weekend to celebrate my sister getting married. The atmosphere was incredible and the staff were a delight. The bride and groom received a free drink which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. The food was delicious. We had small children with us and the lovely staff ensured they were looked after and entertained. Great vibes all round and highly recommend a visit here!

Great spot on the river for brunch. Prices are reasonable, the service was fast and friendly, and there is plenty of space, we had a large booking that grew the day before and they were happy to accomodate on a Sunday morning. The banoffee waffles were super tasty!

Amazing river views. The restaurant itself was open breezy and had great decor. The menu was nice & easy. I can recommend the sand crab linguine & the prosciutto melon & mozzarella salad. Good cocktail menu and prices were good for city prices. Only negative was the chairs… the ones we sat on were camp style foldable and they were kind of slack.,, so it made you feel like you needed to sit on a cushion…. It made you feel like you were sitting too low beneath the table.

Gerard’s Bistro is a chic dining spot that offers a fusion of flavors from Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. The restaurant collaborates with OzHarvest, donating all proceeds to their food rescue program. They serve premium sausages created by local establishments like Bucci and Chow House. Additionally, they host unique events such as BBQ brunches and culinary food and drink matching experiences.
You don’t go there for the space or the setting. Yet it’s memorable. It accentuates the quality of the food and restaurant, so in that way its fantastic. Service was the kind that sets the tone and expectations for the whole evening, relaxed but professional to the level you kind of forget about it. The fish was all time good. The lamb inspiring, as everyday flavours paired and prepared exceptionally well. Presentation all fantastic. The wine by the glass prompted some online shopping later.

We came on a Tuesday night to celebrate the husband's birthday and we're blown away by the food and service. Every dish was so flavorful and well presented. Cocktails were delicious. Thank you for a lovely dinner Team!

Came here with my family for something different. The food is unique and taste absolutely great. The way the sauces were combined with the food is extraordinary. The lovely lady who worked there was so lovely. She noticed that my mother was feeling cold and offered to bring her hot water with a couple of lemon slices. The downside of it all was the size compared to the price. If you are a big eater, the plates will not fill you up. One dish was meant to be shared for 2 people, but it looked like it was for one.

Came here for a private event and was absolutely blown away by the quality of food and wine. The wagyu was the most delectable steak I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating my life. Everything was perfect - the venue, service, staff, everything was so impressive. Would consider Gerard’s for any future special event. Would give six stars if I could.

Had the 85 set menu. It doesn't sound like a lot of food but there is plenty and we left very full. The Barbari bread: fresh, soft and nicely charred. The spices are fragrant and not overpowering. Hummus with black barley: great depth of flavour in the hummus and very smooth. The texture of the black barley was paired well with the smooth texture of the hummus. Coral trout shawarma: least impressive dish on the menu - not enough flavour. Lamb shoulder: absolutely banging. The meat was super tender and juicy and the skin was crisped which gave it a fantastic mouth feel. Simit bread: so soft and fluffy! Chat potatoes crispy greens went so well with the soft potatoes. Knafeh with pistachio: perfectly warm and smooth. Not too sweet and very fragrant. Super delicious. Service was quick and warm. Beautiful ambience. Great lunch experience.

Celebrated a special birthday dinner with my wife at Gerard's. We shared two starters and two mains, which was probably too much food for the two of us. For starters we had the Manoushe and the Baba ganoush - the Baba ganoush was outstanding! For main we shared the whole wood fire baked trout and the shoulder of lamb, and elected not to have any sides, which given the portions was a wise decision! Both were delicious, however I would give the trout the winning hand given how the flesh was perfectly cooked, and the charred skin just added to the overall flavour. Thaank-you Gerard's for making this a special evening for us both - we will be back again to try the other items on your menu soon.

Don't think I've had better lamb in my life! This place is simply food paradise, the simplicity and the heart that goes into every item is difficult to explain. We went as a part of a larger group with a set menu. Each and every single dish on the menu was exquisite. Other than the lamb which is most definitely the best meat dish i've ever had, everything else was a 10/10. The lamb scored many extras. Attaching the menu and few photos of the food!

【Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.7/5.0)】 Gerard’s Bistro in Brisbane offers a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere, blending Middle Eastern influences with modern Australian flair. The menu is creative and beautifully presented, featuring bold spices and unique flavor combinations that stand out. While some dishes are exceptional—particularly the lamb and mezze-style plates—others can feel slightly overpriced for the portion size. Service is professional but sometimes slow during peak hours. The dimly lit interior adds a chic and cozy vibe, making it perfect for date nights or small gatherings. Overall, Gerard’s Bistro delivers an enjoyable dining experience with distinctive flavors, though a bit more consistency would make it outstanding.

Nestled in the vibrant Howard Smith Wharves precinct, Felons Brewing Co is a prime spot for a laid-back Sunday session. The brewery offers a picturesque riverside setting under the iconic Story Bridge and serves up a variety of refreshing drinks, including lagers, cider, and pale ale made with 100% Aussie ingredients. Adjacent to the brewery is the modern Barrel Hall, which features live music and a menu of burgers and snacks to complement your beer selection.
Came here for dinner last week with a couple of girlfriends and had a spectacular dining experience. We were served by Brynn and Hugo throughout the night and thoroughly enjoyed their personable nature and outgoing attitude. Not only was the service spectacular, but the food and drink was top-notch. We all got a selection of pizzas which was perfect for sharing! This place has such an amazing selection of food and the pizza was definitely the way to go. Definitely worth the price. Drinks were also spectacular. Espresso martinis aren’t my thing, but this one for sure changed my mind. Overall, we were all incredibly impressed by our experience here at Felons. I know for certain I’ll be coming back for another good night.

Set right along the Brisbane River, this bar offers one of the most picturesque spots in the city to unwind. The riverside tables give you front-row seats to sweeping water views, and it’s hard not to feel instantly relaxed as you settle in with a drink and take it all in. Whether you’re catching up with friends or just soaking up the atmosphere solo, the setting alone is worth the visit. I only ordered a coffee and juice this time—simple choices, but the coffee took a while to arrive, maybe around 20 minutes. Still, when it did come, it was rich and well-balanced, making up for the wait. I’d love to come back and try the food next time, as the menu looked promising. One of the quirkiest parts was the toilet setup—tucked away down a half-subterranean level with a bit of a cyberpunk vibe, which added an unexpected twist to the experience. Just outside the main building, there’s a laid-back seating area with big cushions where people were lounging and even lying down, and from what I saw, staff will even bring your order out to you there. It’s a bar with a lot of personality and plenty of ways to enjoy it, making it a standout spot for locals and visitors alike.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had the pleasure of experiencing Felons Brewery during the Riverfire event, and the service was absolutely exceptional. Jeremy, who greeted us as Host, and Hugo, who managed our table, went above and beyond from start to finish. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine customer service made the evening seamless. Drinks and meals were always on point, and no request was ever too small. Their support and attentiveness created a relaxed yet premium experience that truly stood out. This level of service will definitely bring us back to Felons in the future. A memorable night made even better thanks to the outstanding team – highly recommended

We booked a 12pm brewery tour for our group of four friends. It was so much more fun than other brewery tours I’ve been too. Our guide Karley was great! She was friendly, outgoing and fun. I feel like the tour was extra awesome because she was our person. During the tour we were supplied endless amounts of their beer of all kinds, in different forms. We started with the tap beers, then switched to cans, then after the tour, we were able to sample a lot more of the beer possible. It’s definitely a must visit if you like good beer. Oh! If you don’t want to or are unable to do the brewery tour, it’s nice to grab a table by the pier and just sit and look out into the water. The food was good. I’m a big fan of chicken wings and their wings were great! I definitely want to head back next time I’m in Brisbane.

Came here for a work team dinner on a weekday evening went visiting Brisbane. A fantastic location beside the river with views that cannot be beaten. The beer was cold and the service warm and friendly. The food was excellent and I could highly recommend the steak and chips. Will definitely come back when in Brisbane.

We were really looking forward to a nice lunch, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The burger looked not presentable at all and tasted quite bland, and the bun was dry and overcooked. The chips were cold. The pizzas, while nicely presented, were quite average… toppings lacked flavour. For the price, we expected much better quality and freshness. It’s a shame, as the outdoor seating and atmosphere were lovely, but the food really let it down. Not sure we’d come back.

No to everything. Qr ordering only therefore no personable interaction. Steaks well over cooked. Wait staff oblivios to anything going on and unsure how to reply to requests and concerns about quality of food. Mash is definitely packet mix. Fantastic restaurant that I would attend again. The staff were fantastic and catered for our 9mth old and 3 year old. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner. The was of good value but the steak sandwich had a little too much BBQ sauce on it. The overall atmosphere was good without being too loud.

Although conveniently located, this place is worth skipping (as far as breakfast goes). Though there was no wait for a seat, and ordering was conveniently available through a QR code, we waited 30-45 minutes for the first coffees and food to arrive (only after we had asked where our order was). Food arrived separately over the course of 15 minutes, and was subpar. Most staff were pleasant in our limited interactions.

The drinks are amazing 🍸🤩 , a very delicious and refreshing experience, I personally don’t recommend the Italian sausage pizza 😔 , but the other ones are good, nice and juicy beef burgers and the ribs a bit dry but were all right. Tasteless garlic flat bread. Asked for a glass for my beer. Was given a small water drinking glass. No serviettes etc on table. Ordered and paid for on the QR code on our table. Had drinks and a quick bite to eat here a week or so ago. The food was nice, although probbaly a bit expensive for the quality and serving size. Was about 4pm so not overly busy. We ordered through the QR code on the table and some error caused my Fiancée's drink to be missed or not added to the order. However, the staff were very polite and happy to sort this out, and gave us a larger glass as an apology (Pint instead of Schooner). Good pub to have a drink at in South Bank. Brisbane Brewing Co. West End is an artisan brewery which celebrates its freedom with a range of beers and international share platters. The beer garden is perfect for escaping the busy week, while the stylish interior offers a unique escape from the city. Brewniversity courses teach you all you need to know about how beer is made.
Lovely brewery with bougie inside interior design, and comfortable outdoor seating areas. Food is well listed and varied, and suitable alterations to suit peculiar palate are well welcomed. Low key and approachable, but with classy elements that make it a sophisticated gem in a road that has its ups and downs.

Not one to leave reviews often....beer is excellent; went to 14 breweries during my trip along all of Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast during my partners work trip. This was my 3rd favorite in regards to beer quality (I will not name the 2 ahead, in my opinion). However, Louis, made the customer service experience the best. He is not over the top, however his memory on what I ordered (taster paddle) vibranted when I tried to order another one... I came in 2hours later after my first paddle and food and told him I was ordering a 2nd paddle put different choices. My first selection (1st beer choice out of 4) replicated my 1st paddle and he immediately said that's what you ordered earlier. I was astonished, considering my first taster paddle was during an extremely busy period. I am someone who loves beer. I don't drink it often but I always appreciate a GREAT brew. Louis is super knowledgeable. I am impressed with his knowledge, and I hope to see him in larger capacities withing the company. My partner and I return to Brisbane once, maybe twice a year for work, and I hope to see him exercising a larger capacity in the future. Good luck Louis!. Thanks for your expertise.

She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Her energy and professionalism brought such a warm and welcoming feel to our night. David was incredibly attentive and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to make sure our group was comfortable, offering great recommendations from the extensive menu and checking in to see if we needed anything. His friendly and professional demeanor created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, the drinks were expertly made, and the views of the Story Bridge were spectacular. However, it was David's personalized and attentive service that made our experience truly memorable. He is a credit to the team, and because of him, we will definitely be returning. Thank you, David, for making our evening at Riverland so enjoyable!

EDITED this to 5 star reflecting the venues approach to resolution. Thank you for your response. Great atmosphere but Im the bar servent (blond girl with black frame glasses) is really rude and obnoxious. Didn't greet just looked at me and raised her eye brows as if to say (what do you want). I ordered and said thank you and she turned and walked away. Deck bar 17:50. Get staff who want the job guys.

If customer service were an Olympic sport, these guys would take home the gold—and probably offer you a celebratory drink on the house. The staff is friendlier than a golden retriever at a dog park, and the food? Absolute perfection. Every bite tastes like the chef whispered sweet compliments to the ingredients before plating them. Drinks? So good they should come with a warning label: May cause happy dances. 10/10 would recommend… and already planning my next visit!

Always a great day/night out with family or friends. We caught the citycat which had frequent stops. I visited Howard Smith Wharves on a rainy winter night, and the atmosphere was magical. The mild chill in the air, combined with the soft drizzle, made the lights on the Story Bridge and Brisbane’s towering skyscrapers even more captivating. The reflections on the wet ground added a romantic touch to the whole experience. Not recommend coffee there, we ordered 3 coffee and they all so blend and tasteless. Food is excellent. We loved the fish and chips and chicken carbonara. However, chicken burger was very disappointing, chicken was served cold, not even a grilled one. Very spacious and we’ll decorated inside the restaurant and they were catering two small events during our visit. would try their weekend special next time.

The food isn't great. It never has been, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I like the place. But nah. The parmi was kinda sloppy, there was no browning on the cheese and there was oil pooling on top. The sauce had all the flavour and consistency of Dolmio's and the chips were sodden. The side coleslaw was the most interesting thing on the plate and it didn't even taste of anything. For $28 bucks I was disappointed. But I think I've learned my lesson.

I can’t tell nothing about service. The waitress was lovely. Regarding the food wasn’t too much choice for Gluten free and dairy free. $20 Pub meals ,one steak and one parmi …..steak was fair ,salad and chips were average with the pepper sauce so coagulated that it came out of small ramekin in one “blob” ….parmi was well below par, extremely over deep fried (see photo ) with the salad, chips and gravy the same quality(?) as the steak meal. We had to ask for salt and pepper, and were never given napkins. And to top it all off, we had to pay extra for the sauce on the steak, and a house 150ml rose wine and a 250ml house chardie cost $30. AT $72. For 2 average meals and 2 wines …. Well I’m sorry, but there are much better quality and much better places to go for lunch.

This was my 2nd visit in 3 weeks. The 1st time was a large group for a birthday. The place looks great, the main Dining room is beautiful with a nice atmospher! All the food was great, cooked to perfection & well presented....we did have an issue with 2 of the meals which was rectified promptly & professionally by Josh, who I learnt at the time was quite new. Came back today for lunch with my son & enjoyed another lovely meal. Received great service again from the Restaurant manager Josh who remembered my last visit, the other wait staff were also very friendly & attentive. Oysters Kilpatrick were very nice, good quality & flavour, I felt the bacon was a little lacking though. Seafood Linguine was tasty & my Duck Breast was cooked beautifully, still pink in the middle. It appears a lot of the teething problems found in previous reviews have been resolved....I really hope it stays that way, such a great venue to have in our local area.

Friday's Riverside is a popular spot in Brisbane, known for its buzzing nightlife with DJs and live bands. The Modern Australian restaurant offers stunning river views, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The venue caters to an older, business crowd during the week but transforms into a lively bar scene on weekends. With its fantastic function room overlooking the river and the Story Bridge, it's perfect for hosting intimate parties or events.
We went to the Happy Daze bottomless lunch and it was absolutely amazing! The staff were so friendly and the cocktail jugs really were bottomless- they kept them coming the whole time!! Food was great value for money, the views were superb and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.

We recently visited Fridays Riverside in Brisbane for their Wednesday special – only $25 for a delicious main meal and drink – and it far exceeded expectations. For such great value, the quality and presentation of the food were impressive. I had a perfectly poke bowl, amazing portion with just the right amount of toppings and seasoning, while my partner enjoyed a parmi with golden fries and fresh salad. The portion sizes were generous, and the drink selection included in the deal offered plenty of choice. Service: The staff made the lunch even better. From the warm welcome at the entrance to the attentive table service, they were friendly, efficient and genuinely cared about ensuring we had a great experience. They checked in at the right times, offered menu advice and kept everything running smoothly without rushing us. Atmosphere & Views: The location is unbeatable – right on the Brisbane River. We sat outside on the terrace, where the view was absolutely stunning, especially as the sun set and the city lights reflected across the water. It created the perfect midweek escape, making us feel like we were on holiday. Overall: Fridays Riverside combines fantastic food, amazing value, beautiful riverfront views, and exceptional service. Whether you’re looking for a relaxed dinner, a date night, or somewhere to take visiting friends, it’s a spot that ticks all the boxes. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy this Wednesday deal again – and to try their weekend menu too! [Follow my adventures on instagram @crushinglimits]

Never really been to a roof top bar, but as my first this was something else the view was amazing and the food was astounding. It's found down at the Howard Smith Warves where you will also find alot of other restaurants. Took my partner here for a date night and we certainly left not disappointed, the food is more for sharing making it a perfect romantic dinner for 2 more memorable. Definitely recommend if your looking for a date night or a night out with the girls or guys this is the place to be. They also are connected with the the hotel right next door if your visiting brisbane to make a weekend getaway more magical. 9/10

Had the most amazing experience at this river-view bar! Cocktails were crafted well. We tried a few share plates & everything was great. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing - exactly what it should be! Special mention to Jacob - he made the night special.

We had staff drinks at Fridays in Brisbane and were lucky to have Joe as our bartender — his service was absolutely perfect. He was incredibly accommodating, attentive, and made sure everyone was looked after the entire night. Joe brought great energy and really added to the experience. Huge thanks to him and the team for making our night so enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I recently had a work Christmas lunch catch-up at this location, and it had a great “Friday” vibe. The view of the river and bridge was beautiful! The customer service was good, with quick service, and the place was nice and clean. I ordered the pumpkin salad and added extra squid, which was delicious. I would return the next time I am in the area.

Attended a private function in the grand deck last weekend. Beautiful view and host we had for the night was lovely and accommodating but thats where it ended. Food was average considering its $120 a platter and 1 platter consisted of 30 pieces of sushi!!. The bar tender was rude and looked like he didn't want to be there. When our time was up in the room we moved to the main club area and was treated rudely by the bartenders. We were also approached by someone who advised we were only allowed 1 drink per person and had to drink water in between based on another person from our party being intoxicated. We were also stalked by the bouncers and were just finding a reason to escort us all out. Very disappointing!! Would not recommend!!

Visited with colleagues and, to be honest, I was a little apprehensive given the mixed reviews 😬 I ordered a selection of tacos: - Pulled pork with jalapeño mayo, baby gem lettuce, onion, coriander & lime - Slow-cooked lamb shoulder with baby gem lettuce, roasted capsicum & sriracha mayo - Crispy chicken with baby gem lettuce, avocado, coriander, roasted capsicum, habanero & sour cream Unfortunately, all three lacked seasoning. I had to load up on the salt just to bring out any flavour. Aside from the heat there wasn’t much else going on. There was no balance of sweet, tangy, or fresh elements you'd typically expect in a good taco to lift the dish. The pork and lamb were dry and stringy, which made them difficult to eat. To be fair, pulled meats are notoriously hit-or-miss, and few places seem to get them right these days. The only redeeming factor was the generous portion of meat in each taco. Colleagues who joined later and had tried the same dishes previously echoed my feedback, so it seems consistency is an issue. Overall, the food felt overpriced for what was delivered. It came across as typical brewery-style fare - heavy on concept, light on execution. And yes, the cheese on the loaded fries was the cheap bottled kind, which didn’t help the impression

We had a lovely dinner here with friends during our recent visit to Brisbane. The food was absolutely delicious, and the stunning waterfront views – with the Gateway Bridge as a spectacular backdrop – made the experience even more memorable. The service struck the perfect balance of friendly and professional, making us feel welcome throughout our meal. We also appreciated the thoughtful table spacing, which allowed for comfortable conversation and a relaxed dining atmosphere without feeling crowded. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great casual meal with a view!

Awesome spot for great food and drinks! Our group had pizzas, tacos, mac n cheese with beef brisket and a beef burger with fries. Everything was fresh, delicious, and packed with flavor. I also tried their new low-carb beer, and it was incredibly refreshing and crisp. Perfect place to kick back with good mates and great brews! Also the service provided by all the staff today was just on point!! Thank you team BrewDog! Can’t wait to come back!🤙🍻

Great hidden gem in Murarrie (right under the Gateway Bridge)! Spacious and open area — very kids and dog friendly. The staff at the bar are super nice, and most importantly, the beer is excellent! 🍻

Bar
Death and Taxes in Brisbane is a sophisticated bar located in the city's oldest laneway, Burnett Lane. It offers a classy and elegant drinking experience with over 1,000 spirit bottles adorning its old-world bar. The establishment is known for its outstanding cocktails, featuring a smart cocktail list of signature drinks and an impressive back bar highlighting the love of whisky. Additionally, it boasts a range of over 40 wines to enjoy throughout the night.
Death and Taxes is a standout spot in Brisbane. Tucked down Burnett Lane, it has a moody, old-world vibe that’s perfect for cocktails. The drinks are next-level — I had the “Sleeping Giant” and it was perfectly balanced. The staff really know their spirits, especially whisky. No food for me, but the atmosphere and service more than make up for it. A must-visit.
Tom M — Google review
Got there around 3pm and the vibe was very chill. Lovely dim lighting and quiet jazz music playing in the background. The craftsmanship of making the cocktails is a performance to be seen! I order a spicy Bloody Mary which had the perfect level of bite. Also found my new favourite cider, so definitely give Pagan cider a try while you’re there. Around 5-5:30 the place really picked up, better get in early to nab a seat.
Maddison S — Google review
A very chill vibe that’s straight out of a NYC speak easy. We had a table of 4 and were only give one menu between us-because the menus allegedly get stolen on a regular basis. After ordering our drinks, the coveted menu was then taken off us - in case of theft. Not the most welcoming element of service. Especially when we are ordering $54 cocktails, and are the only patrons at the venue.

Service, atmosphere, playlist and the drinks.....OMG.....the drinks were phenomenal!!! We tried, Bryan Brown, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Louie Lastik and Will Hunting. If only I lived locally and could visit every weekend or for a midweek nightcap! Highly recommend!

As a returning customer for the past year, I'll vouch for this place. Excellent service and delicious drinks. Having the best Penicillin I've ever had in my life as I review this. Get bar seats, and enjoy some classy cocktails or whiskeys with your mates. Also, the perfect escape from afternoon showers in the city.

My cousin introduced me to this bar and became favourite cousin thereafter - this place is phenomenal! At Sixes And Sevens is a trendy gastropub located in a converted 18th-century cottage in New Farm. The venue offers a stylish and hip decor with cozy nooks and outdoor space, making it popular among both locals and visitors. The menu features modern Australian fare, complemented by an extensive selection of ciders, beers on tap, wine served from the barrel, and fresh cocktail pitchers.
We are located on the Gold Coast. We decided to spend an afternoon there because the traffic was quite heavy on the return journey. The establishment was ideal; it offered excellent value, high-quality products, and exceptional service. It was a truly delightful afternoon in Brisbane.

Wonderful old building now serving delicious food and drinks. Plenty of spaces including an outdoor bar, delightful indoor bar with fireplace, and casual dining. Reasonably priced with delicious food offerings. Very handy to cinema. Service was efficient and friendly. Good gluten free options.

It was my first time at this restaurant and I found it very beautiful.. I loved the food I ordered, the plate was big and delicious. I tried different cocktails and they were amazing, I really loved them! I 100% recommend this place and had such a great time! Vanessa and Miguel took care of me, and I have to say their service was excellent. They were both very attentive and thoughtful! Very good experience!

Food was tasty, drinks were pretty low quality sadly. Atmosphere for outside area was a bit dark and lame, no music and mini bar had no vibe to it...classic over-inflated James St pricing....$5.50 each for oysters, margaritas were crappy not fresh no flavour watermelon spice one was just hot and flavourless...cocktails might be nicer with fresh ingredients instead of low quality syrups

We had our son’s 21st here recently. Working with Laura on the functions side of things was wonderfully easy. The function packages are perfectly set up. The grazing table beautiful! The other food excellent. The ease of bar tab management a plus! Most importantly our son and his mates had a great night. I would highly recommend Laura organising a function at sixes and sevens to anyone! A great venue with great staff, great food and great atmosphere, especially for a 21st!
Angela S — Google review
This is one of those places you simply can’t walk past without stepping inside. The atmosphere is very cozy, with good music, warm lighting, and an appealing menu. Unfortunately, it was almost empty on the evening we visited, which made the place feel less vibrant than it could be. We ordered two drinks: one was decent, while the Espresso Martini was unfortunately very watery. For an after-work beer, we would definitely give the bar another chance, but for cocktails, probably not.

I chose Sixes And Sevens for my 60th birthday celebrations last month. I cannot thank the management and staff enough. The night was perfect. The venue was amazing, the food was delicious and plentiful and the service friendly and professional. All my guests had a great time. Special shout out to Laura who organised everything from the start to the finish. Well done all!!

We came across this gem of a restaurant recently when looking for a steak for dinner. Ordered the 300g Sirloin, it was the best steak I’ve had in a very long time. Even better than the steaks I’ve eaten at steak restaurants. Cooked medium to perfection with a delicious red wine jus. My complements to the chef, keep up the great work. We will definitely be back next time we visit Brisbane.
