1Devaraja market

Market
Devaraja Market is the oldest market complex in the city, offering a vibrant and chaotic traditional Indian market experience. With over 300 shops spread across 3 acres, it's a must-visit for tourists looking to immerse themselves in local flavors. The market features sections dedicated to fresh flowers and puja materials, making it a unique cultural experience. Additionally, the gallery within the market showcases renowned artworks by established artists, including Raja Ravi Verma and Rembrandt.
captures the essence of Mysore's local culture. It's a bustling marketplace filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, and traditional items. The fragrance of jasmine and incense sticks, combined with the vivid colors of fruits and flowers, creates an unforgettable sensory experience. The market is well-organized, and the vendors are friendly, often engaging visitors with stories about their products. It's a great place to buy souvenirs like sandalwood products and Mysore silk at reasonable prices. While it can get crowded, that's part of its charm.
Kiran K — Google review
stepping into Devaraja Market in Mysore is like entering a completely different world – a vibrant, sensory overload in the best possible way! It's not your typical sterile shopping experience; it's raw, it's bustling, and it's full of life. The first thing that hits you is the explosion of colors and smells. Piles upon piles of bright fruits and vegetables are everywhere – the deep red of tomatoes, the vibrant yellow of bananas, the lush green of leafy vegetables. And the fragrance? A mix of sweet flowers, earthy spices, and fresh produce all mingling together. It’s quite intoxicating! What I loved is how authentic it feels. You see local vendors, many of whom have been there for generations, passionately selling their goods. There's a real buzz of interaction between them and the customers, a friendly banter that you don't often find in modern supermarkets. You can find pretty much anything here, from fresh produce and flowers (oh, the marigolds and jasmine are just gorgeous!) to spices, incense, and even some household items. It’s a feast for the senses at every turn. Navigating through the narrow pathways can be a bit chaotic, with people and handcarts moving around, but that's part of its charm. It feels like you're right in the heart of the city's everyday life. I spent a good amount of time just wandering around, taking it all in. I bought some fragrant spices and a few local fruits that I hadn't tried before. It felt good to support the local economy directly. It's not a fancy, air-conditioned mall; it's a traditional market, and it has all the character that comes with that. If you want to experience the real pulse of Mysore and soak in the local culture, Devaraja Market is a must-visit. Just be prepared for the crowds and the sensory overload – embrace it, and you'll have a fantastic time! In a human way: * It's a vibrant and bustling market with an explosion of colors and smells. * You can find a wide variety of fresh produce, flowers, and spices. * It feels very authentic, with local vendors and lively interactions. * It's a great place to experience the local culture and support the community. * Be prepared for crowds and a sensory-rich environment. If you're looking for an authentic and lively experience in Mysore, Devaraja Market is definitely worth exploring. It's a sensory adventure!

Mysore Market, also known as Devaraja Market, is one of the oldest and most iconic marketplaces in Karnataka. Located in the center of Mysore city, it’s not just a shopping destination—it’s a cultural experience in itself. Walking through the market feels like stepping into a different world, where tradition and daily life blend seamlessly. The first thing you’ll notice is the explosion of colors—bright orange marigolds, red chilies, green herbs, and vibrant pigments used for religious and decorative purposes. The air is filled with the scent of fresh flowers, spices, and incense, creating a sensory experience that’s truly unforgettable. Stalls are lined with fresh produce, aromatic oils, sandalwood products, and handmade items that reflect the craftsmanship of local artisans. The market is well-organized, with separate sections for fruits and vegetables, flowers, puja items, and household goods. It’s a great place to interact with locals, many of whom are eager to share stories or explain the use of their products. The vendors are generally friendly and open to bargaining, making it a fun place to shop. What sets Mysore Market apart is its authenticity. Unlike commercial malls, it offers a raw and genuine glimpse into the daily life of Mysore’s residents. It’s also a photographer’s dream, filled with colorful scenes and lively characters. Whether you're a traveler, a photographer, a foodie, or just curious, Mysore Market is a must-visit. It’s more than a place to shop—it's a place to connect with Mysore’s soul.

The most vibrant and pleasant place to be. Loaded with fresh vegetables, flowers, fruits and miscellaneous items. Separated into different sections. You are definitely bound, to carry a bag full of nature's goodies.

Some markets in India are important tourist sites in themselves. In Mysore, a visit to the Devaraja market is a must on every tourist’s itinerary. Many heritage walks in Mysore include the market. Even if you don’t plan on buying anything, the market offers some great photography opportunities. It also gives tourists an insight into the daily life of Mysore.

India is a country wherein you see an invisible system working alongside the chaos, and this market is a living example of it. The type of markets are majorly divided amongst textile, jewelry, produce, flowers, stationary, etc but then shops have full control on being creative and organized or not organized.
Pooran P — Google review
If you find yourself at the Mysore City bus stand, this location is a must-visit. They offer the exquisite Mysore pak, a delightful treat that is a specialty of the region. You'll surely enjoy it, along with the other tasty items available in their shop.

Silk store
The KSIC Silk Weaving Factory, located in Mysore, is renowned for producing the luxurious Mysore silk. Visitors can take a tour of the factory to witness the intricate process of creating silk products and shop for authentic Mysore silk items at affordable prices. The factory is a major attraction in Mysore, offering an opportunity to observe the transformation of raw silk into exquisite fabrics.
This is KSIC Stores at the premises of the factory. This is one of the fast moving saree outlet as its adjacent to the factory and there are a lot of footfall at this store. We have been regular atleast a yearly visit to this store, stock are less as the sales are more here. I understand they get stock three times a week they get over very quick.
Santosh G — Google review
As a family, KSIC sarees have been more than just fabric — they’re a part of our tradition. For years, during every function, celebration, or special occasion, we have chosen only KSIC sarees from KSIC FROM MYSORE It’s something we hold close to our hearts, and we never look elsewhere. However, it’s deeply disappointing that every time we visit the store, we face the same recurring issue no proper stock or collections, and often very limited choices. Today was no different. Despite our excitement and anticipation, we once again left disheartened. There’s barely any fresh production, and even the staff on duty don’t seem very motivated to help or show the sarees available. We had to wait in long queues, and it honestly didn’t feel like the warm, welcoming experience it used to be. As loyal customers, we request the management to look into this seriously. It’s not just about buying a saree — for us, it’s about continuing a cherished family tradition. We hope you’ll take this feedback constructively and bring back the magic of KSIC that we’ve always known and loved.

Best Place to Buy Authentic Traditional Freshly Wowen legendary Mysore Silk straight from the Factory 🥰... This is the only factory outlet which gets stocks daily ... Other all outlets gets stocks once a week mostly... Staffs are friendly... Note : Saree Range starts from 15000 plus ... Only Con is stock issues as they have very very limited supply... And they are sold like hot cakes despite their high prices....
Raghavendra C — Google review
Stepping into the KSIC factory in Mysore was our first dose of local heritage after leaving Bangalore, and it was a genuinely nostalgic experience. Even by 9:45 AM, the dedication was clear: a dedicated line of shoppers was already waiting, hoping to purchase one of the limited edition, factory-floor sarees. The stock is precious and moves fast, creating a true sense of exclusivity, with a limit of one treasured saree per person. The staff, knowledgeable and courteous, treat the process with the respect the craft deserves. The highlight, though, was the immersive factory tour. We witnessed the entire journey of the famous silk: watching the raw material being prepared, seeing the looms in full, hypnotic action, and getting up close with the skilled men and women who bring these masterpieces to life. Sharing that real-world exposure with my kids, and watching the staff take time to explain the craft to them, was truly special. If you appreciate authentic craft, take the time to visit the weaving floor—a purchase is optional, but the experience is essential.
Maheshwaran S — Google review
Very pathetic experience. A Govt of Karnataka firm. No sarees available for sale. But why a show room and many branches without collections. Too many staff , supervisory staff unfriendly. When we went there we could see many a customer's came by car returned with disappointment We visited one more branch in the youth hostel premises also. Same disappointment there also.
Natarajan G — Google review
It is a very old factory. Visitors are allowed to visit the factory. Bag, phones, cameras are not allowed inside the factory. Every stage of saree manufacturing can be visited. Friendly staff also answers to questions related to manufacturing. They use real gold in sarees zari and pallu. God bless KSIC.
Abhilash B — Google review
Authentic place to purchase pure mysore silk sarees. Nice collection of sarees are made available (at times, only limited options due to high demand) and the price range starts from ~16,000 INR. Handy staffs, and good parking space available !
Bharatesh C — Google review
No stock not even a single saree available by the time I reached... I have been told to come by 9:30 am and better reach bit early to be in queue. Not sure if it's true but product starts from 23000

Shopping mall
Shopping
Located in the heart of Mysore, the Mall of Mysore is a modern shopping destination that seamlessly blends old-fashioned architecture with contemporary amenities. It houses a wide array of national and international brands under one roof, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The mall also features food courts, gaming centers, and entertainment options, drawing large crowds especially on weekends.
Mysore Mall is a great spot to check out. It might not be as large as some other malls, but it offers a solid mix of stores for clothing, gadgets, and more. The vibe is casual, making it a comfortable place to hang out and shop without feeling overwhelmed. The food court has a good range of options for a quick bite, and the mall itself is clean and well-kept. Parking is easy, and the staff are polite and helpful. While it’s not a mega-mall, Mysore Mall offers just the right balance of shopping, dining, and convenience. I’d definitely recommend it for a casual day out.
Ude M — Google review
Good place, neither too big nor too small. There are places for kids to play & a food court with limited shops we had pizza from dominos there..my son played..
Shibina M — Google review
Mall of Mysore is one of the best spots in the city for shopping, dining, and just spending a relaxed afternoon. The location is excellent—right near Chamundi Hills and the Race Course—which makes it a nice stop for both locals and tourists. The mall has a good mix of brands, from fashion to electronics, though it's not as huge or diverse as malls in bigger cities. The food court is decent, offering a range of cuisines, and there are a few nice cafés to chill at. I especially liked the cleanliness and open layout—never feels too crowded. There’s also a multiplex, which is a big plus for catching the latest movies in a comfortable setting. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that it could use a bit more variety in stores and entertainment options. But overall, it's a well-maintained and pleasant place to visit. Would definitely recommend if you’re in Mysore and looking for a modern shopping experience!
Gayathri S — Google review
"Visited Mall of Mysore recently and had a wonderful experience! The mall offers a great variety of shops, ranging from fashion to electronics, catering to all needs. The ambiance is modern and comfortable, with clean facilities. The food court is diverse, offering a wide selection of cuisines. Overall, it's a great place for shopping, dining, and entertainment in Mysore. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a fun day out!"

> Only 4 floors are there. > 1st and 2nd floor full of shopping. > 3rd floor is the food court and Inox cinema. > The 4th floor is a game zone. > This mall is not very crowded > The mall is well maintained. > The food court is decent. > Inox with 4 screens.
VEL — Google review
I loved visiting Mall of Mysore and each visit was well spent. The mall was always buzzing with activity and it was always well maintained. I would describe it as a one stop shop as we got a lot of things we were looking for here. It was nice to see a Skechers store and a Benneton store there. For me, I remember the stores where I got Indian fashion and the food court as well. Food was always piping hot with excellent vegetarian choices we could enjoy. Mall of Mysore would certainly be a place I would visit again when I am in Mysore.
Rachael T — Google review
Good mall, clean and well organised. Nothing too extra, nothing too less, just perfect. The food court is well equipped with a lot of food stalls. Adequate seating available for all customers. All the basic stalls of most multinational brands are available here. Extreme hygienic and labelled mall with neat parking and well trained staff members too.
Achal N — Google review
A good mall right in the heart of Mysuru city. It's well maintained, clean and spacious. But outlets are less when we compare it with Nexus Mall. Also the food court has limited options - KFC, Dominos, Subways, Chinese Wok etc are the notable ones. It also has a small arcade play area on the topmost floor. Inox occupies one part of the floor along with the food court - it being a decent theatre but as always food options inside Inox are too costly and not worth the money.

Guru Sweet Mart, located in Mysore, is renowned for its traditional Mysore sweets, particularly the famous Mysore Pak. This delectable sweet treat was originally created by a royal cook to satisfy the king's craving for something new. The most authentic version of this delicacy can be savored at Guru Sweet Mart, which is run by the descendant of the original creator.
If you have a sweet tooth, this place is pure heaven! Their Mysorepak is simply outstanding — soft, rich, and bursting with that perfect balance of ghee and sweetness. Unlike many other shops where Mysorepak can feel too dense or greasy, this one just melts in your mouth with every bite. The texture is flawless — smooth, slightly crumbly, and so aromatic that you can taste the freshness of the ghee. You can tell they put real care into maintaining authentic South Indian flavor. The shop itself is always neat, with a wide range of sweets and courteous staff who help you pick the best options. If you’re looking for traditional sweets done right, especially Mysorepak that tastes like it’s straight from your grandmother’s kitchen, this shop is a must-visit!

Finally got to taste the famous mysore pal that these guys are famous for I did get to try both the ghee mysore pak and regular one and both were yummy. I also did try few savouries and it was perfect too. Place is tucked in the corner of the market building and he opens up at around 8am and he has both the original old shop and new one right beside each other. Costing for original mysore pak is 600/kg and ghee is 800/kg. Must try varieties of mysore pak they make Yummmmy.
Sachin M — Google review
Tried the milk ghee Mysore Pak (₹40 per piece) and the famous ghee Mysore Pak (₹50 per piece) near Mysore Palace. The ghee Mysore Pak was served hot, had a rich buttery flavor, and literally melted in the mouth — absolutely delicious. The milk ghee version was also good, but the ghee Mysore Pak stood out as the star. Though the shop is small and often crowded, the authentic taste makes it a must-try for anyone looking for the true flavor of Mysore❤️❤️
Goutham V — Google review
Historical shop as this is the birthplace of the famous Mysore Pak. The sweets you get here is warm and creamy. With time it solidified as it cools down. Best to have it fresh as it gives you a cool effect as it melts in your mouth. Amazing thing to try.
Nabeel R — Google review
One of the oldest sweet shop in the town, just ghee mysore pak is worth tasting with mild sweet than any other high branded sweet shops. Small shop in the corner is the orginal one with enough atitude to the person sitting in the counter. Visited late night 11.30 during dusherra with no rush at all . No tasting is allowed but expects to buy in a jiffy before you realize the hype created being busy at the counter. May be person is tired with busy day. Hygiene is maintained well and flavoured mysore pak are for sure no, unless you are found of dryfruits in anything & every thing . Mysore pak to be eaten just made out of plain basin & ghee. Road side street parking is difficult during special days, otherwise can find near by parking spots.
Ardes A — Google review
The shop offers a good variety of sweets, including different types of Mysore Pak, and they claims to be the originator of Mysore Pak, having presented it to the Mysore royal family. located in a prime, busy area of Devaraj Market. The milk-based Mysore Pak is highly recommend.
Thaha — Google review
Recently visited Guru Sweet Mart in Mysuru, and I've heard that this is where the very first Mysuru Pak was made to serve maharaja of mysuru. While I can't fully confirm that claim, the Mysuru Pak here is undeniably amazing. It’s rich with ghee and just the right level of sweetness—definitely the best I’ve had! If you're in Mysuru, it’s a must-try. One thing to note: they only accept cash, as they’ve been doing for years, and unfortunately, they don't offer UPI payments. While that’s a bit inconvenient, the incredible taste of their sweets more than makes up for it. If you're after authentic Mysuru Pak, this is the place to go!"

🍬✨ Guru Sweet Mart – A Sweet Paradise! ✨🍬 Guru Sweet Mart is a must-visit place for anyone who loves authentic Indian sweets and snacks. 😍 From the very first bite, you can feel the freshness, purity, and richness in every sweet. The variety here is just amazing – from traditional Indian mithai like Mysore Pak, Laddu, Barfi, Jalebi, and Gulab Jamun to innovative and seasonal delights, everything tastes heavenly. 🍮🍯 The Mysore Pak is soft, rich, and melts in the mouth instantly, while the Kesar Burfi is perfectly flavored and feels absolutely royal. The sweets are not overly sugary – they are balanced just right, making them enjoyable for all age groups. 👌 The quality of ghee, milk, and dry fruits used here speaks for itself – pure and premium! 🌿🥛🌰 Apart from sweets, they also offer a good selection of savory snacks, which are equally fresh and tasty. The service is quick, the staff is polite, and the pricing is reasonable considering the top-notch quality. 💯 The shop maintains great hygiene, and the presentation of sweets is beautiful, making it perfect for gifting as well. 🎁 Overall, Guru Sweet Mart is a heaven for sweet lovers and truly deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Cauvery Emporium, located on the bustling Sayyaji Rao Road in Mysore City, is a haven for handicraft enthusiasts. This initiative aims to preserve traditional crafts in the face of modernization. The emporium offers a wide range of handicraft items, including intricately carved sandalwood products and beautifully crafted frames. It is renowned for its original government-approved sandalwood products and also features an array of high-quality cosmetics that have garnered positive reviews from visitors.
Bought a some sandwood product for 3x times more price when compared with other cauvery outlet.Got fraud with the price and the product. As when tested it's came as 4th grade and substitute of sandalwood.
Renuka S — Google review
purchased this product in this shop claiming to be real sandalwood, but I was very disappointed. The scent is weak and doesn't resemble the rich, warm fragrance of real sandalwood. The texture is also grainy, unlike the smooth powder of real sandalwood. I compared this product to other sandalwood products I own, and it's clear this is not authentic. The packaging states it's '100% real,' but it's not. I would not recommend this shop , totally fake

1. This is not a Govt shop 2. they are not central government employees. They are lying. We have checked with offiers. 3. It is a muslim owned shop who is lying that the temple trust is run by Muslims and that he will be promoted to Tirupati next. Perhaps he will get promoted to Bangladesh next, This again, we have checked with officers. 4. The entire show, including the devi photo in the shop, has been put for gullible trusting devotees.

I WOULD NOT VISIT AGAIN We had been to Chamundi Hills in April-2022. While around the temple gates, a man approached us and persuaded us to visit the Cauvery Emporium. In his words -- "This place is exempt from GST so you will get better deal here than at any other Cauvery Emporium". The shop has collection of various items that are in one or the other way related to 'Sandalwood'. We liked some artifact but it hardly had any smell of Sandalwood. Then we were told that it is because the artifact is covered in wax to preserve the sandalwood quality and fragrance. Once we buy it, then they will remove the wax and then it will give proper smell. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD HAD BEEN OUR ALERT which we missed. We bought the artifact and then the a person took it inside 'TO REMOVE THE SO-CALLED WAX'. It took him less than a minute to complete the procedure. At this moment we realized that we did a mistake by coming here but we had already done the payment and hence there was nothing that we could do from here. I bought some key chains paying Rs 250 they said that it is sandal wood. But that's a lie it's normal wood. The same key chains are being sold at Rs 70 inside Mysore zoo shop. This place is cheating customers.

There are so many places in Mysore which says as cauvery emporium but only the one inside the palace and the other one in the market place is the original one.. so beware of these in Mysore
Sunitha S — Google review
They are not govt shop. Small items are somewhat sandlewood but the big items are normal wood sold in the name of sandlewood . To get the smell they use 2 stories , a. Wax is present so no smell b) Because of above reason, we will remove wax and clean it . What they do is spray sandlewood spray and dry it with heat gun. Do not be carried by their previous customers billing book. It is a mixed bag of fake customers and genuine customers . If you contact genuine customers they will let you know the plight of their purchase . All most , all the positive reviews which has come here are from ppl who have just 1 or single digit reviews which proves it to a be fake accounts. The very act of these guys are fake can be proved with the details of this shop not mentioned in the govt website . Please don’t refer to the website from these guys or any of blogs . These guys are bunch of clowns . If you want to buy go to SR road in mysore . That’s the govt shop.

Mysore Palace, a stunning Indo-Saracenic architectural marvel completed in 1912, boasts a grand durbar hall and hosts weekly illuminations. The palace is famous for the traditional Dasara procession, Jamboo Savari, featuring a decorated elephant carrying the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari during Vijaya Dashami. This centuries-old celebration was initiated by Raja Wodeyar in 1610 and has continued uninterrupted.
A palace well maintained by the Mysuru Royal Family. Clean space with history and stories hidden in every corner. Beautiful intricate designs to be seen everywhere. Worth visiting. There are food stall and ample space to store luggage with safety. Entry fee charged for adults ₹100.

I visited this palace when during my childhood, and it looks as stunning as it is even today as well. The painting and drawings on the walls are so beautiful and real that it gives a lifelong memories. Must visit if you want to let your child understand the history from closer lense.

An architectural gem of Karnataka! Mysore Palace is truly a must-visit destination that perfectly blends royal heritage and stunning design. The intricate carvings, majestic halls, and rich history reflect the grandeur of the Wodeyar dynasty. The palace is well-maintained, and the evening illumination is absolutely breathtaking — it feels like stepping into a fairytale! A royal experience during Dasara! We visited Mysore Palace in the evening during the Dasara festival, and it was absolutely magical. The entire palace was glowing with lights, and the sunset made the view even more breathtaking. The atmosphere was festive, vibrant, and full of energy — a perfect blend of tradition and celebration. The palace grounds were clean and well-organized, and the staff managed the crowd efficiently. A must-visit place if you’re in Mysuru, especially during Dasara evenings — it truly showcases the royal charm of Karnataka!

What a beautiful palace. Lived up to my expectations. We went a little late in the evening after sunset but made it right on time for the light show and story telling. Some people walked off half way through cause without visuals it was hard to connect the dots in the storyline but the Palace lighting was beautiful. Really enjoyed it.

Among all the historical palaces I’ve explored, none compare to the breathtaking grandeur of Mysore Palace. Its true magic unfolds during the Dussehra festival, when tradition and splendor come alive. If you’re a history buff with a passion for travel, this gem belongs on your must-visit list.

If you’re in Mysuru, the palace is definitely worth a visit. It offers a rich blend of royal heritage, architecture and spectacle (especially when lit at night). For best experience: go earlier in the day or just before evening illumination, allow 2–3 hours, and try to avoid the peak crowds.

Mysore Palace,a stunning blend of history, architecture, and royal grandeur. The intricate carvings, vibrant stained glass, and majestic domes showcase the rich heritage of the Wadiyar dynasty. Whether visited by day or illuminated at night, the palace feels truly regal and awe-inspiring. It’s well maintained, and the audio guide adds great context to the experience. A must-visit landmark that beautifully captures the essence of Karnataka’s royal legacy. Recommendations:- 1.Buy tickets at WhatsApp to avoid long line 2.Avoide visiting on weekends & Holidays

St. Philomena's Cathedral, located in Mysore, is a stunning neo-gothic church with soaring twin spires and intricate stained glass windows depicting the Christ era. Built between 1933-1941, it was inspired by the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. The church houses a relic of Saint Philomena obtained in 1926 and features a candlelit prayer room that offers solace to visitors.
I visited this church recently, and it left me feeling uplifted. The serene ambience, well-maintained premises, and the peaceful aura make it a wonderful place for spiritual reflection. Ambience & Atmosphere: Quiet, clean, and beautifully cared for. The architecture, both interior and exterior, reflects reverence, simplicity, and charm. Natural lighting and greenery add to the calm. Worship / Service Experience: Warm and welcoming congregation. The sermons and prayers felt genuine, inclusive, and spiritually enriching. Good acoustics and sound quality ensured everything was clear. Facilities: Comfortable seating, well-kept grounds, clean restrooms, and smooth access make the experience pleasant. The volunteers and staff are helpful and courteous. A perfect place for anyone seeking peace, community fellowship, or a moment to pause and reconnect spiritually. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors.

Peaceful and spiritual start to the day! Visited St. Joseph’s Cathedral in the morning, and it was such a calm and beautiful experience. The church’s architecture is stunning — tall spires, detailed glasswork, and a serene interior that fills you with peace. The morning sunlight through the stained glass created a divine atmosphere. The surroundings were clean and quiet, making it a perfect spot for prayer or reflection. A must-visit place in Mysuru for anyone seeking a moment of peace and beauty.

This is one of the best Cathedrals in Karnataka. Situated very near to Mysore Palace, it's a must visit place if you go to Mysore. The architecture is gorgeous. Though it is very crowded almost every time, you can still find inner peace in the praying hall looking towards Jesus, who is blessing us with all his love.

The stunning Gothic-style architecture, tall spires, and colorful stained-glass windows create a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Andhra restaurant
Biryani restaurant
Non vegetarian restaurant
Hotel RRR Mysore is a popular spot known for its Andhra-style starters and biryani, which are on the spicier side. The menu is brief, offering mutton or chicken biryani served with flavorful gravies. This traditional Andhra eatery stands out as the only restaurant in Mysore serving non-vegetarian dishes on banana leaves. It's advisable to make reservations due to the long queues during lunchtime.
Best Biryani in Mysore – A Non-Veg Lover’s Paradise! Hotel RRR is a legendary spot for non-veg food in Mysore, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. I tried their chicken and mutton biryani — both were incredibly flavorful with perfectly cooked, tender meat and aromatic rice. The spice levels were just right, and the portions were generous. The place can get crowded, especially during lunch hours, but the service is fast and the food is totally worth the wait. If you’re a biryani lover visiting Mysore, don’t miss this place!
Sanjith S — Google review
The best place in Mysore for biryani lovers! Their chicken biryani is incredibly flavorful – perfectly cooked rice with tender, juicy chicken pieces that are infused with rich spices. The aroma itself is enough to make your mouth water. What really impressed me was their mutton biryani – the mutton was cooked to perfection, soft and falling off the bone, blending beautifully with the long-grain rice and balanced spices. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and take their time to get the seasoning just right. The portion sizes are generous, the ambience is warm, and the service is friendly and quick. If you’re looking for authentic, well-balanced flavors without oily heaviness, this is the place to go. Highly recommended for true biryani fans!
Sandeep O — Google review
We had a great experience in Hotel RRR Mysore. We tried Andhra style Chicken Biryani and Mutton Biryani as well. Both were delicious. Soft and ghee infused rice flavoured with subtle spices and meat that melts in your mouth. We also tried Chicken Roast, that has a unique flavor. Not sure what but tasted amazing. It goes well with Biryani rice. The place was nice and crowded. We literally stood in queue for 10-15 minutes just to get a table. Only thing that bothered me was the dinning space. It has created a reputation and the business is going pretty well but the dinning space is so small for the crazy crowd.

*"A Taste of Perfection!"* I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hotel RRR and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the tone for a fantastic meal. The food was truly exceptional! Each dish was expertly crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients that exploded with flavor. The presentation was stunning, and the portions were generous.
Rafael J — Google review
The much hyped RRR we tried today for lunch and I must say it did stand up to it. We orderes mutton biryani, chicken biryani and chicken roast. Mutton biryani was great, rice had soaked in all that flavour and with the salan, was just superb. The Mutton pieces were enough for one but the pieces I got was not that great but biryani was satisfying. Its not as spicy and masala like hyderabadi biryani. Nor too bland like malabari biryani. I would prefer Mutton biryani over chicken. Now the chicken roast was also really damn good. Their masala is different and tasty, not like ones you might find in other places. The bad part is the pricing. There is nothing below 250 in this place. Even veg meals is 250ish on par with non veg biryani and this is somehow not logical. They are looting in the name they have earned. Somewhere i feel its not right. The demand is high and I think things wouldn't change. However the food is good so letting it pass. I would come here again but not in my immediate next trip because of the rates. They can improve the wait outside the shop, the que is not organised. They can probably keep a person out and note the names in order to make it fair and avoid people fighting for spot.
Sharon S — Google review
Unfortunately this place is very overrated. The queue here is huge, the service is bad and people working here don't treat you like their guests. The food is okayish, I've had better food in mysuru. The biryani was already over when we went for lunch which was around 12pm. So with no other choice we had veg meals and non veg side dishes. The mutton roast was good but other than that everything else was very average. The food is not worth the money.
Priyanka S — Google review
This one review is all you need guys, i have heard about this place few times and i decided to travel mysore only to see whats going on here, honest opinion the place was super super crowded and people need to wait for a long time until the people inside finish their food, now there is parking split there do not park in car area as someone is locking the bikes and scooter of many ppl, there is a bike parking on the right side, now the menu : if you think you going to deep dive and explore this restaurant then you will be disappointed as they have barely a menu to choose from its like the QSR type i can say like only 10 items or 15 items on list , now on the food that is all matters : trust me andhra ver meals is superb like it hits exactly how you feel authentic with banana leaf, now i took chicken biriyani too and mutton fry , the biryani is felt like have a biriyani at KR Market Bangalore, if mysore have no option on biriyani then this place is go to place but if there are other then please explore, Biriyani overrated and not good but veg meals are authentic and amazing and on service part they treat very well and good people and on the cost i say little pricy but if you planning to go then you should have already plotted the budget, 2 person 800-1000rs

Authentic Taste of Mysore! Hotel RRR is truly a gem for anyone who loves authentic South Indian food. The moment you walk in, you can feel the aroma of freshly prepared dishes that instantly make you hungry! The meals are served traditionally on banana leaves, and every dish — from the flavorful biryani to the spicy curries and crisp papad — is full of authentic taste and freshness. The place is always buzzing with happy diners, which speaks for its popularity and quality. Service is quick, polite, and efficient even during rush hours. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and taste you get. If you’re in Mysore and want to experience real South Indian flavors in a simple yet vibrant setting, Hotel RRR is a must-visit. You’ll leave with a full heart and an even fuller stomach

Cauvery, Karnataka State Arts & Crafts Emporium is a must-visit for art and craft enthusiasts in Mysore. It offers a wide range of traditional and exclusive pieces inspired by the extraordinary artworks of Karnataka, historic temple carvings, and sculptures. The store showcases handmade goods from Kerala as well.
If you are looking for authentic Sandal wood, Rose Wood handicrafts items or products, this is The place. With so many spurious dealers claiming authenticity, this is the only place where you can trust the agency which is a government of Karnataka undertaking and authorised seller.

Best place to buy authentic hand crafted and original sandal wood works. One can buy authentic sarees. Wood crafts are super and mind blowing. Thus institution ensures that the artisans get their due benefits. The place also sells paintings. But all these authentic crafted items comes with a price. It is justified as the benefits are going to the real artisans and the there is guarantee of authentication.

This is the original and authentic Cauvery emporium. Don’t get fooled by auto walas and go to other privately owned emporiums. Prices are generally on the higher side but that’s coz the items are sourced from artisans and the emporium pays them respectfully for their skills. Also the items are authentic.

Cauvery handicrafts run by the Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation which is an undertaking of the Government of Karnataka. It's considered a reliable place to purchase genuine regional crafts such as sandalwood carvings, Mysore traditional paintings, Rosewood Inlay works, toys, decorative items, bronze icons, perfumes and agarbatti to name a few. If you're in Mysore and in search of authentic and genuine sandalwood products, your search ends here. There are varieties galore.
Manab T — Google review
Good collection of hand made soaps. Pricing is a bit too high but rest assured on quality. As it's a government undertaking, one cannot expect the service to be flawless. It was as if I visited an exhibition. Good experience. Must visit at least once.
Jerin J — Google review
Cauvery State Arts & Crafts Emporium is a go-to destination in Mysore if you’re looking for authentic handicrafts, sandalwood items, Mysore silk, incense, wooden and metal work, and traditional souvenirs. It is (or is supposed to be) a government-run store, which gives a degree of trust in the quality and authenticity of many products. There are many shops with similar names that are not the genuine Cauvery government emporium. These look very similar, sometimes claim they are government-run, but sell products of questionable authenticity or inflated prices. If you’re in Mysore and want genuine handicrafts, this is worth a visit. But go with some caution: make sure you are entering the original Cauvery emporium (on Sayaji Rao Road, etc.), check product details (look for labels, fixed price tags), and avoid being guided by drivers who may take you to fake or very overpriced alternatives. A great spot for souvenirs, especially if you want items that reflect Mysore heritage, sandalwood, rosewood, silk, etc.

Museums
Sand Museum Mysuru is a unique and compact museum showcasing intricate sand sculptures. The museum features around 150 sand statues exploring 16 different themes, including Goddess Chamundeshwari, Mysore Dasara, Bhagavad Gita, wildlife, Disneyland, ancient civilizations and more. One of the main attractions is a 15-feet high statue of Lord Ganesha at the entrance. The museum offers a serene environment to appreciate each sculpture thoroughly.
The Sand Museum in Mysore is quite unique and worth a visit if you’re exploring the city. The sculptures are detailed and showcase impressive craftsmanship, especially considering they’re all made of sand. However, the place isn’t very large, and you can cover it fairly quickly. Maintenance could be better, as some parts don’t look very well preserved. It’s not a must-visit attraction, but if you’re nearby and curious, it’s an interesting stop for a short visit.
Ciara D — Google review
The Sand Sculpture Museum near Chamundi Hills is a small setup but very creative. It has beautifully made sand sculptures on themes like heritage, wildlife, and mythology. The detailing is nice, and photography is allowed, so you can get some good pictures. 🕰️ Timings: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM daily 🎟️ Entry Fee: ₹60 per adult (a bit pricey for the short visit) 📸 Photography: Allowed ⏱️ Visit Duration: Can be covered in about 10–15 minutes. 🛍️ Facilities: Shops are available outside for souvenirs and snacks. Though it feels a bit pricey for its size, it’s still worth a quick stop if you are visiting Chamundi Hills or exploring Mysore.

Visitors have described it as looking like a "haunted place" Un hygiene toilets Navigating the mall proves challenging due to a confusing layout. The lack of clear signage and directions makes it difficult to find one's way around. The lift They seem to have performance issues, resulting in slow operation and occasional malfunctions

Pvr cinemas is in 1st floor and they have kfc at 2nd floor.. Free parking space beside the mall for 2 wheelers.. and they have car parking lot at the back..
Nishchal A — Google review
I honestly don't know what's going on with the mall anymore. The shops that are still running are good- but a whole lot of space is empty. The washrooms look like something abandoned from a really great dream project, and you're somehow lucky that one washbasin works. The foodcourt has just a KFC and the seating area looks industrial, for a lack of words. There is a resident pigeon that flies over your food! The parking area can be better managed too!
Arjun M — Google review
Very limited parking in basement especially for 4 wheelers. You have to be very careful while parking or taking your car back out of parking as you have to negotiate very very sharp curves with little space. Also you do not know where you are at. They do not have proper layout or map. I had to walk/take lift twice just to go to the PVR ticketing counter. Not much shops to offer there, everything is congested and claustrophobic. Never going back there
AVINASH S — Google review
Garuda Mall is one of the most disappointing malls I’ve visited. The washrooms are filthy, stinking, and never maintained — absolutely the worst experience for visitors. The PVR is no better, filled with a foul smell that ruins the whole movie experience. Hygiene and cleanliness are completely neglected, which is unacceptable for such a large mall. The only good things worth mentioning are that it has Style Union and Decathlon, plus free parking for both 2- and 4-wheelers. Apart from that, there’s nothing impressive here. Unless the management takes hygiene seriously, this mall is not worth visiting.

Mannars Market in Mysuru is a bustling hub offering a wide array of products at wholesale rates. From art pieces to colorful fabrics, kitchen items, plastic goods, and more, this market has it all. Despite being crowded, the market provides great discounts on various items like artificial jewelry, stationery, electronics, decorations, and birthday gifts. Visitors can also find organically grown fruits and vegetables transformed into delicious gojjus, chutneys, and wine.
Mannars Market is a well-known shopping destination located in the heart of Mysore city. It offers a diverse shopping experience, blending traditional charm with modern convenience. The market houses a wide range of shops including garments, accessories, footwear, electronics, and daily essentials — all under one roof. What makes this place popular is its affordability and variety. Whether you're a local resident or a tourist, you’re likely to find good deals and unique items, especially in clothing and budget-friendly fashion accessories. Many stores also offer wholesale options, making it a go-to spot for bulk buyers. The market is well-connected by public transport and located close to other central attractions in Mysore, making it convenient for a quick visit. However, parking space can be limited during peak hours. Cleanliness and crowd management could be better, but it’s manageable for a busy urban market. There are also food outlets and small eateries nearby to grab a quick bite after shopping. --- Pros: Great variety of goods at affordable prices Convenient central location Good for budget and bulk shopping Cons: Can get crowded, especially on weekends Limited parking Cleanliness needs improvement --- Overall: A good place for economical shopping and exploring local Mysore market vibes. Perfect for those who love bargaining and exploring a mix of modern and traditional items.

Known as 'Dodda Gadiyara', and located close to Chamaraja Circle, it was built to commemorate the silver jubilee of the reign of 'Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar's'. Hence it is also called the Silver Jubilee clock tower. It is about 75 feet in height. The clock is in good working condition.

Also known as the silver jubilee clock tower or the Dodda Gadiara, it was built in 1927 to celebrate the silver jubilee of King George's reign. The 75ft tall tower is one of the most beautiful clock towers in India. It is situated in the heart of the city near the Mysore palace. Definitely recommended for a photo stop.

Historic, during my childhood there was no fencing for this. Was live as it is. Population was less and things looked more raw and royal as it is. New fencing and boundaries takes off the rawness, but considering the people it is necessary now or the crowd will spoil it. Miss the old MYSOORU

When in Mysore, the KSIC Mysore Silk Showroom is a must-visit for those seeking authentic and original Mysore silk sarees. Located in the heart of the city, these exquisite sarees are distinguished by an embroidered number on one edge, ensuring their genuineness. While the prices may be steep, the beauty and exclusivity of these sarees make them a worthwhile investment for true connoisseurs of high-quality silk.
One stop destination for all the beautiful varieties of sarees! Reasonably priced 😃 Thank you 🙏 We got this "kuttu brocade" saree for around Rs 2080/-
Sujitha M — Google review
Customer service is horrible here. No doubt the sarees are good but the salespersons are very rude. And the phone numbers of the showroom is always not available. They say the new stock may come tomorrow, whenever we call to check, the phone is not working at all. I wonder if they disconnect it. The sales men behave as though they are distributing the sarees which are priced above 20k or so for free. Is it wrong to ask them to show 2 or more sarees before we shell out 30k and above from our pocket?
Nusheen I — Google review
Am Dr. Sanjana, Today with my sister had been to KSIC STORE , NEXT TO ZOO to buy a saree. Manager Mrs. Jayashree and sales women Mrs. Priya. they spoke very rudely and behaved very badly with us. They used very bad foul language. We are not buying saree for free, we are paying every penny of it . we are highly quantified people from very good family. who are they to talk to us without respect and use foul language. they literally use just harsh kannada to talk to their customers. horrible experience. not only me other customers also told the same. its a government owned store and staff behave like this coz no one will take action against them ( because its government). so shameful. Me being a MS ( OBG ) i treat my security with at most respect. but these women treat other costumers so badly and talk to them with least respect. i kindly request the related officers KSIC to take action against these women and teach them proper manners how to behave with humans. if our KSIC officers will not take any action, they will continue to do the same and lot others customers will be troubled. hopefully the message is clear and waiting for the action by the officers by the next time i visit the store

Worst staff attitude, I'd rather give 0 stars if i had that option because very bad customer treatment by the staff and the Watchmen. Just because they are a government entity it doesn't mean that they can boss around their customers who are in the store.
Jathin Y — Google review
It is a very small outlet of KSIC selling " mysore silk sarees". The price is same throughout the country and hence there is no charm in buying in this place. Just as a remembrance you can do that.
Ramjee Y — Google review
Don’t know how have for what we liked in this store particular. We have bought twice here since we got the exact color combination in this store. The behaviour of the staff needs definite improvement. They are not ready to display or show the sarees. This happened both the times that we visited the store, though we are curious to buy they’d ask what range and what type we want and then show us. We know the cost of KSIC Mysore silk and still visit the store since we know what is Mysore silk, some of the store staff behave as if customers are not aware of KSIC Mysore silk, which makes it very annoying. Also, they are interested to close the shop before 8 pm stating various reasons. At about 7 pm once when we visited, they were already stock checking and packing up and didn’t show a great interest in displaying the sarees. This behaviour must change. If they want to close by 7 pm, KSIC must alter their timings accordingly. It’s high time that store people and KSIC in general understand that there are already many other players in the market who are providing quality similar to KSIC. We still visit KSIC and willing to pay the premium for the legacy and the genuineness of the quality and in return expect courteous behaviour from the staff. Try to involve your male staff who can stay till about 8 pm or beyond who can help customers.

What’s Good (Pros) 1. Visual Grandeur & Detailing The interiors are richly decorated: chandeliers, stained-glass ceilings, detailed woodwork, portraits, artifacts. It gives a royal, majestic feel. 2. Cultural & Historical Significance It’s not just about the building. There’s a museum inside with royal artifacts, costumes, weapons, paintings—gives insight into Mysore’s royal past. 3. Evening Lighting / Illumination One of the biggest draws is how the palace is lit up in the evening. On Sundays, public holidays, and especially during Dasara, the palace with its thousands of bulbs is beautiful. 4. Well-Maintained Grounds / Gardens The gardens surrounding the palace are nicely kept, providing nice spaces to rest, walk and take photos. 5. Good for Tourists It’s a must-visit for people interested in architecture, history, culture. Many say the palace gives a very "Mysore feeling", a sense of local heritage. --- What Could Be Better (Cons / Challenges) 1. Crowds & Peak Times The palace can get very crowded, especially on weekends, holidays or during festivals. That can make moving around less pleasant. 2. Ticketing / Queues Some visitors complain about delays and inefficiencies, especially for special shows like light-and-sound. For example, only certain counters sell tickets for those shows, those open late, and queues can be long. 3. Photography Restrictions Photography inside certain parts is restricted (sometimes completely disallowed), which frustrates many tourists. 4. Price vs. Experience for Some Visitors For some, the entry fee seems high compared to what they expect, especially if the crowd or restrictions reduce what they can see/do. 5. Limited English Information / Guided Explanation Some visitors feel that information signage / descriptions are not always in English or are sparse, making it harder to appreciate all the historical details.

Mysore Traditional Painting & Tanjore (SRI CHAKRA) is deeply rooted in the history of Mysore, known for its promotion of communal harmony and coexistence among people of different religions. Anand Sir, a dedicated and talented artist, offers training in both Mysore and Tanjore styles of painting. His expertise and patience make him an excellent mentor for beginners as well as experienced artists.
Anand Sir is a very very talented artist in both Mysore and Tanjore style of paintings. I have learnt from him for close to 2yrs, working on various subjects. Each piece has gained loads of appreciation. He's very knowledgeable about the art form and patient and encouraging to new comers .I'm grateful to have found him as my guru 🙏🙏 It is a delight to see his album of personal work. Each one is a master piece.

Anand sir is a talented artist who is very dedicated and hardworking. I was in India only for few days and really wanted to learn and take home with me a Tanjore painting. Given the short amount of time, when I enquired at few places they didn’t agree that it will get completed. I’m so glad to have found Anand sir as my guru. From the beginning till the end, he spoke positive words, and was flexible to teach me with more hours per day. He is very patient while he teaches and explains it in a way that is easily understood. Even his wife is very friendly and equally knowledgeable. Each piece of art he creates is so unique and on par. Every minute details are defined. Two of us even got lucky as he took us on a tour to mysore palace to explain about the old Mysore paintings exhibited too. If you are looking to learn Mysore or Tanjore style painting look no further!

Mysore Handicrafts manufacturers of rosewood articles are renowned for their exquisite craftsmanship and wide variety of high-quality products. The rosewood crafts gained popularity during Tippu Sultan's reign and are available at both affordable and premium prices in Mysore. Visitors can find intricately carved wooden figurines, frames, table tops, and other items at the store. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the artisans behind the products, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for browsing.
I recently visited this place, and I was truly impressed. The store offers a wide variety of high-quality handicrafts, from intricately carved wooden figurines to frames to even table tops. While some items were on the pricier side, the craftsmanship justified the cost. The staff were friendly and provided insightful information about the artisans behind the products. The store had a warm and inviting atmosphere that made browsing a pleasure. I was particularly delighted to find unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that I hadn't seen elsewhere. It is a must-visit for anyone looking to appreciate and purchase exceptional handicrafts. My only suggestion would be to extend their weekend hours to accommodate more visitors.

This place is just amazing with most of the souvenirs and Mysore specialise Handicraft / cloths at reasonable price. Specially the team working has been amazing. (Specially Mr. Ramzan) went out of the way to replace the ear ring set, when he saw my 12 Year old daughter lost one piece of her ear ring she bought from this place. Outstanding Customer experience.

Ramzan was a great shop owner to talk with while scarf shopping. Located inside Parklane Hotel, the shop is small, but there are so many different types of scarves ranging in price from Rs.100 to Rs.1500ish. After looking around at some other shops in town we were most pleased with the prices here. There are also purses, wallets, sarees and a few knick knacks.
