Cafe
Canyon Coffee, founded by Ally Walsh and Casey Wojtalewicz in 2016, has become a staple in Los Angeles. What started as a passion for the perfect cup of coffee blossomed into a widespread presence across the city. Their delicious roasted beans and understated branding have made them a favorite among locals. You can find their coffee not only in various storefronts but also at their own location where you can enjoy delightful drinks and treats like carrot loaf slices.
Canyon is lovely. Warm wood interior, counter bar, vinyl collection, outdoor sidewalk patio— it feels like a true neighborhood spot, but without being performative. Service is friendly and fast, drink options are unique and always delicious. One thing to be aware of— parking is often atrocious on the weekend. But worth braving!
Hannah M — Google review
Beautiful coffee shop! Found myself in this neighborhood and this was a perfect spot to walk, get a coffee, and read my book outside 😍 inside was packed, but there are some adorable tables outside. Street parking. The fig leaf latte was delightful! 10/10 with a soft, citrusy sweet flavor. Impeccable. The oatmilk latte was good too. The tuna toast needed some more seasoning but I see where they were going with it.
Carlie C — Google review
Canyon Coffee nails the cappuccino—smooth, balanced, and clearly made with real care. There’s no over-foamed milk or scorched bitterness here, just a beautifully made cup that feels like it belongs in a much bigger city but somehow fits perfectly in this sun-drenched pocket of L.A. The space itself is relaxed and curated without being precious: natural light, clean lines, and just enough warmth in the wood and ceramics to keep it from veering into sterile. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to slow down, even if you’re grabbing something to go. They’ve got a small but intentional lineup of offerings—excellent teas, matcha that isn’t overly sweet (bless them), and a few pastries that pair really well with their drinks. What I appreciated most was how quietly confident everything felt. Nothing was trying to be a gimmick or shout over the next trendy shop down the street. This place knows what it is and delivers on it. I took home a pound of their beans, which have turned out to be just as solid brewed at home. Bright but grounded, with that light chocolatey finish I love. Canyon Coffee is definitely in the rotation now—for both mornings out and mornings in.
Paul M — Google review
If I could for a second forget how hard it was to find parking around the area, I would easily see myself being a regular at Canyon Coffee. For me the vibe did worth the hype. The cafe wasn't only nicely designed, but there's something about the atmosphere that just made it felt like a comfy space to kill time doing people watching while enjoying the music played using vinyl record player. Do expect long line throughout the weekend so this was only the kind of place you would go by yourself or in very small group if you're planning to get a seat. I sat by the bar on my own so it turned out perfect for me. Following what everyone seemed to rave about, I did order their Labneh Toast. Forgive me for being not 1000% in alignment with the crowd, I did think it was luscious but not slapping as much as the attention it had drawn (or prolly I set too high expectation because of the reviews). Don't get me wrong, it was indeed great combo of sweetness from the honey and tanginess from the labneh, along with nice texture play blending creamy labneh and crunchy buckwheat. Nonetheless, for me it was more like I did get my curiosity answered, but not something I would return and keep re-ordering. Saving the day, the brown sugar latte was BOMB, especially I got it with pistachio milk which surprisingly just made perfect pair! I've always been a fan of non-dairy alternative as it helped giving creaminess but not overpowering the coffee taste from standing out and I'd say Canyon's coffee notes just suited my preference well, with bold aroma and low acidity. If you're a local of the area, this was totally a perfect to-go neighborhood coffee for ya!
Jessica G — Google review
Canyon Coffee is always a vibe. It’s the essence of transplant culture in LA. You have everyone just being extremely interested in conversations that just lightly touch the air as everyone sips on their non-dairy variation of drinks, but truly there’s something magical about having a coffee in a crowded space with a bunch of hipsters, mountain loving city folk who love gossiping about LA crap. It’s truly something uniquely LA. The coffee is great, I don’t know if I’d buy a bag of beans as they are better priced at Bristol Farms when discounted, but the draft oat latte, and the espresso is on point. The staff is hella friendly and enjoyable to shoot short nonsensical conversations while complimenting each others attire is pretty much the vibes. Come for the coffee, stay for the people watching, be a tease, and enjoy the heat. And hey, if you’re able to get a seat inside cherish it like gold. Those spots don’t open up till the meaningless convos of LA die out, and usually that doesn’t happen till a little past 1/2 pass 1:00pm. Would highly recommend. Arrive early, leave late.
Aaron — Google review
My matcha pistachio on tap was fire. First time having matcha on tap and it didn’t disappoint. The place gets super crazy on the weekends though so we didn’t stay for long.
Tina C — Google review
Lowkey stick to coffee here, got the pistachio matcha latte but lowkey was not my fave, but my friend’s latte was really good, also hella outdoor seating and v cute interior
Mariel C — Google review
I’ve been to a lot of coffee shops in LA (Maru, Verve, Stagger, etc) and I can definitely say the matcha here is pretty good. It has enough sweetness that most “casual” matcha drinker and connoisseurs can appreciate.

Coffee shop
G & B Coffee is a coffee shop in downtown Los Angeles that is run by Kyle Glanville and Charles Babinski. The duo strives for precision when brewing coffee, using seasonal ingredients and not being beholden to any brands.
Honestly, I think it’s the best spot inside Grand Central Market. I didn’t get to try their signature menu this time, but the cappuccino I had was hands down the best I’ve had in a while. Run by former barista champions, this place truly lives up to the hype. Even the coffee beans they sell are excellent—no surprise there. Definitely a must-visit if you’re a coffee lover passing through the market.
Hana C — Google review
Go Get Em Tiger at Grand Central Market is all about the coffee, and fortunately, that’s where they shine. It’s one of those rare places where the regular cappuccino—the benchmark test of any real coffee operation—is smooth, perfectly balanced, and consistently well-pulled. The espresso has a rich, nuanced flavor, and the milk is textured just right, never too foamy or flat. Beyond the basics, the menu includes some creative and well-executed options, like their tea with hops, which offers a surprising and refreshing twist. It’s aromatic, slightly bitter, and actually quite satisfying, especially if you’re looking for something a little different but not overly sweet or gimmicky. Their almond macadamia nut latte also deserves a mention—nutty, creamy, and far better than your typical alt-milk drink. The staff is friendly enough, though the vibe is more functional than cozy. The space inside Grand Central Market means there’s a bit of a bustling, transitory feel—it’s not the kind of café you’d hang out at all day, but it does the job if you’re passing through or grabbing a quick drink before wandering downtown. Still, what matters here is that the coffee is excellent, every time. Whether you’re a purist or after something inventive, this spot delivers.
Paul M — Google review
Seriously, Go Get Them Tiger serves the World Best Americao, period. Saw the comments from ChatGPT, came to but a coffee ☕, was purely looking for caffeine, but happened to bump into the best taste of coffee ever, can't use any words to describe the rich flavor, you just have to try it by yourself !!!
Bill L — Google review
I was stuck serving jury duty and wanted to try something new during my lunch break, so I walked to Grand Central Market and gave Go Get 'Em Tiger a shot. I ordered a decaf dirty chai ... which I guess they call a dirty Sanchez? The drink was as awful as the name. Flavorless and watery and cost around $7-8 bucks without tip. I probably should have sent it back, but I felt bad because the servers (who were extremely sweet and helpful) were swamped with orders. I'd like to give them another chance without the chaotic work crowds.
Harrison — Google review
First purchase when visiting LA and it did not disappoint. Very friendly and helpful staff, who then take their time making our order. Go to Americano for me, dark oat hot chocolate for the Mrs, which she loved. Coffee was awesome. Will be back to get some beans to take home.
Matt G — Google review
Average cappuccino. Mediocre almond croissant (looks beautiful but taste is lacking) Generally disappointing. Go explore - there are way better food options throughout the market.
Theresa — Google review
My favorite coffee bar in downtown los angeles. The baristas are genuinely friendly, warm, and inviting. Their kindness really keeps me going back (first and foremost). The drinks are impeccable artistry. The macadamia almond milk matcha latte is creamy, smooth, and lightly sweetened. The turmeric latte is also savory and balanced.
Ana T — Google review
Go Get Em Tiger at Grand Central Market is a standout. The Americano I ordered was simple yet full of flavor—perfectly balanced and smooth. The shop’s aesthetic complements the market’s lively vibe but manages to hold its own with an inviting design. It’s a great spot for a quick, quality coffee in the heart of downtown LA. Highly recommended!

Coffee shop
Boxx Coffee Roasters Co. is a new addition to the LA coffee scene, having originated in Istanbul in 2015 and opening its first cafe in the Arts District in 2021. The menu features a strong espresso selection, various pour-over options, and traditional Turkish coffee. Visitors appreciate the self-roasted coffee and enjoy both bitter and sour flavors. The cafe also offers delectable chocolate croissants that pair well with their beverages.
A Life without coffee is like a broken pencil – pointless. :D With that said let’s begin this sweet review. BOXX COFFEE (est 2021) is an exquisite modern Turkish cafe shop in the art district of LA. They’re located in Aliso luxury apartment building on E. 3rd street. We came on a rainy weekend to grab some coffee. I was mesmerized with the modernity and exquisite layout design of this cafe. Clearly, no money was spared here. That I can tell you. Moreover, the cafe’s atmosphere has a positive energy and peaceful tranquility. Their coffee menu list was modest as well as their pastries. I had a Croissant and hot Turkey Coffee, a strong traditionally prepared enjoyed in small cups. It is served with a small cup of water to cleanse thy palate. Drinking this coffee is traditionally not meant to be rushed as culture dictates it. The best way to complement this coffee is with a warmed butter Croissant to assuage the robust flavor of the coffee. Staff were cordial and professional. Prices were relatively fair and affordable. Parking in the art district can be challenging, so it’s best to come early in the morning. Overall, one can posit that this is a lovely modern cafe. I highly recommend it.🤩
Carlo N — Google review
The chocolate croissant was delicious and the cafe latte is smooth and served lid free so you can enjoy the latte art before sipping this quality coffee. The beautiful spacious seating area has a good mix options to choose from and there is outside seating as well. Lots to love about this place!
Susan M — Google review
Neat coffee shop with an array of snacks. Loved the Peach Green Tea; refreshing. Clean and spacious café. Enjoyed sitting inside the café. Loved that they showcase their roaster. Coffee beans are a bit overpriced for the bag size. Espressos were very acidic and did not go down smooth [PNG-Papa New Guinea]. Perhaps a different batch or bean next time. They also have seating outside and a very clean bathroom.
Jesse S — Google review
In town for a new tattoo and visited the local coffee shop. The olive citrus muffin was AMAZING. The coffee was delicious (oat latte) and the vibes were as expected for this area (cool and laid back) Staff friendly and helpful
Derrick C — Google review
Delicious coldbrew and coffee roasted in house. Immaculate industrial vibes and options indoors and outdoors for seating. Great place to read, study and work out of. Staff is very helpful and offered coffee samples.
Jaja C — Google review
Quick service, great coffee! I had the matcha latte. Relaxing environment to just hang out and read or chat with buddies. Easy to get to.
Candace — Google review
Incredible specialty coffee shop and roastery. Extremely friendly and helpful baristas who care about their coffee and your experience with the drinks. Answered questions very helpfully and created a lovely atmosphere. (make sure to try the pour overs)
Joel D — Google review
This has been my go-to coffee shop whenever I’m in LA these past 2, 3 years. The staff is always friendly, and the service is consistently quick. There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors — perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. The café is laptop-friendly with free Wi-Fi and a few outlets, which I really appreciate. The relaxed, comfortable vibe keeps me coming back again and again. All of their drinks, including the matcha latte, are solid. As much as I wanted to keep this spot my little secret, I had to leave a review to show my support :)

Blue Bottle Coffee is a trendy cafe chain that offers high-quality coffee drinks, pastries, beans, and brewing equipment. The Melrose Avenue location in Los Angeles features bright indoor spaces with natural light and clean design elements, creating a playful yet relaxed experience for customers. This particular Blue Bottle cafe near Venice Beach has a welcoming vibe with a breezy atmosphere and friendly baristas. It's the perfect spot to grab a coffee before or after enjoying activities like surfing or visiting the beach.
I always love Blue Bottle Coffee but living in Seattle means that I can’t have it very often outside traveling. So I always go to literally every blue bottle coffee whenever I get a chance, across the states and countries. But let me just say that this place has the BEST SERVICE EVER! I absolutely loved it, they make me feel so welcome and appreciated. Literally everyone I encountered was sooooo nice! And their waffles were so yummy. If you only have time for one Blue Bottle during the visit, this one has to be it!
Lucas N — Google review
I really liked this cafe because it has high ceiling, spacious, airy, roomy and comfortable vibes. The cashier was really nice and polite. He smiled and expressed a positive and friendly attitude towards the customers. I ordered 4 pastries to go and they were delicious, airy, crispy, buttery and not too sweet. I can’t wait to come back and try their coffee next time!
J W — Google review
Staff and Coffee excels at what it does best, but several issues prevent me from recommending it fully. While the coffee itself is excellent and the staff are great, I had a deeply disappointing experience with their $10 breakfast sandwich—easily the worst I’ve encountered and frankly insulting for the price point. The wifi situation is equally problematic, with connectivity so poor I couldn’t even send a basic email, making it completely unsuitable for anyone with work deadlines or virtual meetings. If you’re looking for a quick coffee grab-and-go spot, Staff and Coffee delivers well, but for anything beyond that, the overall customer experience falls short of expectations.
Forest D — Google review
We came to see the Bradbury Building and decided to stop by Blue Bottle Coffee right after. The space feels open, calm and safe, which is rare in some part of downtown. I loved the big wooden tables, the shelves of books, nice atmosphere. It was also very clean. I ordered a regular coffee, and my husband, who’s the real coffee connoisseur, had an espresso. He really liked it and said it was smooth and well-balanced. They also bring a small cup of sparkling water with the espresso, which I thought was such a nice touch, European touch. It reminded me of being in a café in Paris or Italy, where that’s just part of the experience. The staff was super friendly , which made it easy to just sit for a bit and enjoy the vibe. It’s the kind of place you could come to just people-watch after walking around downtown. Worth stopping by for coffee if you’re visiting the Bradbury or Grand Central Market
Mayi B — Google review
I was in town for work and decided to stop in and buy a matcha. Like other comments, the matcha is pretty milky. I also had the avocado toast and that was pretty yummy. Staff are friendly and welcoming! I enjoyed sitting down and answering a few emails.
Darleen M — Google review
I had a hot chocolate from Blue Bottle. The taste was good — not too sweet, just right. I’d say it was pretty standard. I was planning to give it 5 stars, but the staff didn’t seem very friendly, at least from what I felt. Maybe it was because I went there at the last minute, but the interaction didn’t leave a great impression. Their behavior wasn’t exactly rude, but it wasn’t welcoming either.
AHA — Google review
The Iced Nola was awesome!! I tried it for the first time and loved it. Also the staff was very helpful and kind. Enjoyed my experience a lot overall

Coffee shop
Verve Coffee Roasters is a NorCal-born coffee chain known for its carefully sourced coffee beverages served in a contemporary setting with wooden accents. The brand has made an impact in Los Angeles, with various locations across the city, including a notable Arts District outpost featuring a glass-fronted Roastery Del Sur and an impressive array of espresso machines and specialty drink taps. Before the pandemic, this flagship location offered an extensive coffee mocktail menu.
Amazing choices for many palettes. Enough diversity in beans to please nearly everyone. Great cafe for working or personal time
Chris S — Google review
The setting is nice inside and there is lots of seating and outlets but the music is very loud so not ideal for studying. There is also seating outside with nice plants but it has a lot of flies. The service was very good, very friendly and helpful. I got the iced chai latte with oat milk and it was pretty bland, not worth almost $8.
Makena — Google review
This is a well-known coffee chain with a great reputation, and for good reason—their coffee and pastries are delicious. However, one major downside is the parking situation. Most of their locations have very limited or difficult parking, which can be frustrating, especially during busy hours. If you don’t mind the hassle, it’s definitely worth it for the quality of their drinks and baked goods.
Sasha M — Google review
I visited with the thought of drinking delicious coffee after a long time. They gave me a latte in a paper cup without asking me. The moment I opened the lid, I thought it would not taste good. The latte filled with only white milk foam was not worth 6.25. After taking a sip, I could not help but think that it was milk. I asked the barista if it was a double shot, and she said it was, but that was a lie. It was my mistake to think that the coffee at this store was the best in dlta. I will never visit again.❗️
Somewhere A — Google review
Verve has always put out beautiful cafe locations, and this DTLA one is no exception. It has both a large interior and exterior with plenty of seating, well designed seating, and a space that makes you want to admire the details. The espresso and pastry selection are always top tier, and they have plenty of merch and grab-and-go items that can pique your interest. The only thing this location needs to work on is a solution for the years long issue of flies hanging out in the front during warmer seasons. They don’t bother you while sitting outside, but it still is a bit of a buzz kill. 😬
Felipe L — Google review
I was looking for a place to do some studying and a friend recommended Verve. It’s a nice spot to just enjoy some tea and do some reading. There are a lot of people who seemed to be working, and a small group just there to socialize a bit. Everyone seemed respectful of the environment. You can pay for the tea once and get a couple steeps, which I thought was a nice touch. I’ll be back!
Jonathan C — Google review
This coffee shop is hands down the best coffee shop in LA. I think what makes it one of the best is the amazing baristas that I have gotten to know over time. They are incredibly approachable, friendly, and really make you feel at home. As a transplant from New York City, this place has made the transition much easier and smoother. If you have ever seen the tv show "Cheers"--everyone here does know your name! In such a disconnecting world, this spot really reminds you how beautiful human connection is, through a cup of tea/coffee/drink. The drinks are great! As a tea drinker, you have so many choices beyond coffee. I hear the coffee is amazing though--many people come to buy their beans here. They have seasonal drinks and also food + bakery. Their banana chocolate chip muffin and loaf are so good. It's a great place to meet with friends to chill, it's also a great place to co-work with others. I have met some incredible people while doing work here. The space is wonderful because you have great indoor and outdoor options. Honestly, it's perfect. Thank you Verve!
Jalin L — Google review
Awesome amazing verve location in LA! Great seating and area! I enjoyed the nitro cold brew and we also had the popular juice flight which is a great way to figure out which juice to commit to! Cream party is the best! Lots of great seating to catch-up with friends or family and of course to get your juice or coffee fix! Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Maru Coffee is a stylish and cozy coffeehouse in Los Angeles, California, offering a peaceful atmosphere and minimalist vibe. The café is known for its delicious espresso drinks, pour-overs, and matcha, as well as its decent Wi-Fi. The customized ceramic latte cups, mugs, and hangari jars by Notary Ceramics add to the aesthetic appeal of the place. Despite the usual long lines outside the shop, the turnover is quick inside.
I just ordered a matcha latte with half and half. It was delicious and had the perfect flavor. Overall it was a great drink to start off the day. I also had their cold brew and it was very strong and gave me that extra energy. It had that strong coffee taste I expected and it was a solid pick me up. Very limited seating outside and inside but I was cool with to go. I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items.

Pretty good coffee shop. Coffee is fairly good here. The creamtop iced coffee drink has sweet thick cream on top, essentially a dessert drink. Fun to try. Espresso is pulled from a La Marzocco machine. The coffee and matcha themselves are enjoyable though not highest tier. However…. The place is full of itself. Used to be able to get matcha with creamtop on it here, or at least cream on the side to top it yourself. Now (summer 2025) the shop has decided they know better than you, and even if you ask nicely and are willing to pay will not let you put creamtop on your matcha or other drinks for the sake of “proper balance of flavors”. What a load of horse hockey. I recommend checking out other local coffee shops with better flavors and more customer centered service. (Eg see my other reviews)

Maru Coffee is such a gem in LA! The interior is clean, minimal, and calming. The staff is always welcoming and helpful, making the whole experience feel warm and personal. I highly recommend the vanilla bean latte; I’d smooth, made with fresh vanilla bean , and easily one of the best lattes I’ve had in the city. Definitely a go-to spot for coffee lovers.
Alexis M — Google review
Every time I pass Maru coffee, there is a line 30-50 persons deep out the door. And due to my opposition to lines, I just keep driving. However, last Saturday after a hike, I was driving by and shockingly, there was less than five people out the door. I quickly parked and made my way to the line, as it was finally time to see if Maru Coffee was worth the hype. I hate saying it, but they delivered. I had the Cream Top (which I would order every time I go back) and the Spinach & Cheese Croissant. Both were beyond expectations. (and if there was no line, I would probably go back every day).
Daniel F — Google review
Ugh I love Maru. 4 stars because in my mind they have the perfect cream top, but the last time I went the ratio was just too much cream top- almost like a dessert. Definitely worth a try.
Lauren — Google review
Stylish and definitely one of the nicer cafés I’ve visited in LA!! I tried the matcha latte and vanilla latte both were enjoyable, though a bit on the simple, classic side. The real standout seems to be the Creamtop drinks, which feel unique to Maru and worth coming back for. The interior is minimalist yet warm, with white walls and wood accents that make the space calm and inviting. It’s not really a spot for long stays, but great for a quick coffee break. The only downside is that there isn’t much else around the area, so unless you live nearby, it can feel a bit out of the way.
M M — Google review
Popular matcha spot near downtown LA. The matcha is not sweetened and is very earthy. They use a very high grade matcha and it definitely stands out as one of the best authentic matcha spots in LA. The service is quite fast, and the atmosphere is upscale, but there aren’t many spots for sitting down and doing work. This place is better as a grab and go cafe.
Ross M — Google review
The original Maru Coffee location, this spot is well loved by locals and always draws a line. Be prepared to wait a while to get your drink but trust me it’s worth it. You can’t go wrong with any of their coffee drinks but the cream top iced espresso or matcha specials are incredible. These drinks definitely satisfy your caffeine cravings and taste super high quality. The cafe is small and the vibes are minimal / aesthetic which add to the vibe. I tried this location after visiting the other one in Arts District as I had to grab coffee from here one more time before leaving. One of the best coffee spots in LA!

Cognoscenti Coffee is a modern cafe that specializes in espressos, teas, and specialty pour-over coffees. They have multiple locations in Culver City, South Park, and the Fashion District. The cafe has a cool industrial-chic aesthetic and offers carefully roasted beans from their own roastery.
Cute atmosphere. Outdoor and indoor seating. Coffee was great - had a flat white that was creamy and a little fruity. The barista was also super nice.

Cute coffee shop at the heart of Culver City, just few steps away from The Platform. Plenty of street parking spaces available on weekend afternoon. You could easily grab your cup of joe and also walk around the platform. At my visit I could see many guests who seemed to be regulars, just stopped by for grab and go. The coffee was decent and the baristas were super friendly. Also for the price, the size was pretty worthy.

Went there for pastries. Quite disappointed. The chocolate croissant was $6 but only had a very tiny bit of chocolate… overpriced… the latte was ok. I wouldn’t recommend their pastries. Would come back for their coffee.

Hugh H — Google review
Decided to head down to Cognoscenti Coffee on December 6, 2023. There was plenty of paid parking (11:30am weekday), parked right in front, hassle free. Upon entering, we were greeted by the barista right away. As always, a warm greeting adds to the experience and environment. The barista made sure to answer any questions. Regarding the environment, it’s welcoming and not aimed for a specific group of people (hipsters), as mentioned by other reviewers. There was plenty of seating inside, outside, and in their “patio” (located within the building). I ordered a v60 pour-over, beans offered were Gesha from Chiapas Mexico, and my partner ordered a hot vanilla latte. Upon receiving the drinks, the latte caught my attention, meticulously crafted with flawless foam. The pour-over was executed well, perfect temperature that allowed the coffee to elicit notes of orange, furthermore the last couple of sips I noted more of the ginger. I did not receive any bitterness nor acidity. Upon finishing my pour-over, I took a sip of the vanilla latte, which had a delightful taste of vanilla (not the typical generic vanilla), I do believe it’s house made. If you’re reading up to this point, Cognoscenti offers pastries from Friends & Family, which I’ve had countless of times now, their pastries are flaky, soft, and delicious (make sure to get it warmed up to get the full experience). Furthermore, enjoy the drinks in a mug or glass. Overall, the pour-over was great and the vanilla latte as well. The barista was attentive and friendly. Would I recommend this location to friends or family? Yes I would and I will definitely return to try out the other beans offered for the v60.

Fantastic cold brew, exactly what I wanted. It's a relaxed atmosphere and everyone there knows what they're doing. Definitely a hidden gem in Culver City, will absolutely be returning.

I have been to Cognoscenti Coffee in Culver City a few times and my cortado or cappuccino has always been on point, great look and taste. On top of that, they carry fantastic pastries from Friends & Family, which I think has the best wholesale pastries in LA. The small storefront has an industrial vibe that quite fits Culver City, and the little outdoor patio has a strange appeal to me. I would have gone back more often but one of the baristas has a condescending vibe that I don't appreciate. Also, once he went from counting a deck of dollar bills straight to making my coffee. I was definitely not comfortable.

Patria Coffee Roasters sources its beans from cooperatives of small coffee growers who are empowered to form their own businesses. The cafe and roastery offers a variety of interesting drinks, including Cafe de Olla, a Mexican-spiced coffee made with cinnamon and Piloncillo. Mexican chocolate fans will love the Ibarra Mocha.
I ordered the Ibarra Mex Mocha, which was pretty good. This is a nice small coffee shop with a hip vibe with decent amount of seating. The staff is friendly and is able to handle a big crowd and online orders. They really love their job and enjoy conversations with their customers, that was really nice to see.

Best drip coffee I’ve had in a long time! Visited this shop for the first time on a Tuesday morning around 8 am. It has a small indoor area with seating and a parking lot on the side of the building. I was greeted by a super sweet barista who was so helpful and friendly. I ordered a lemon croissant pastry that she offered to warm up, a large black coffee (amazing!) and a bag of the same beans that was made for the drip to take home. These particular beans were so nice, smooth, buttery and most importantly not very acidic. If you are looking for good coffee beans to gift a friend or brew at home yourself, I would highly highly recommend the bag I have pictured here! I am looking forward to returning and trying the other beans they offer.

There’s a quiet warmth to Patria a humility you feel the second you step in. No flashy signage, no performative minimalism just real hospitality, honest coffee, y un ambiente that feels like home, especially for those of us who grew up around the Latin rhythms of the city. The Latin vibe here isn’t curated it’s lived. You’ll hear cumbia, reggaetón, or just simply Spanish Vibes playing softly in the background, el olor de café recién hecho drifting in the air, and the sound of familiar laughter from the staff behind the bar. It’s in these small, mundane details the ones people forget to notice where Patria really shines. Cómo te saludan por tu nombre, how the espresso is pulled with patience, not performance. That’s where the corazón of this place lives in the little things that make a spot feel humano again. Geoff has always been a solid presence in the space. Back when I used to stop by more often, we’d catch up en pequeñas pláticas that always felt natural, never rushed. You could feel how much he truly poured into this place into the atmosphere, into the coffee, y más que nada, into the comunidad it represents. If you happen to read this, Geoff appreciate you, brother. You’ve built something honest and beautiful here, de verdad. I used to come by a lot when I worked in Long Beach. Patria’s just a short walk from the nearest Metro station, which made it the perfect spot during my commute. Whether I had time to sit or just needed something pa’ llevar to the studio, this place always gave me a second wind. Even now, when I’m in the area, I make time to swing through just to reconnect with that feeling. Patria isn’t just a coffee spot. It’s a piece of Compton’s cultural heartbeat rooted in heritage, carried by comunidad. Lo sientes in every sip, every small detail, and every welcome nod from across the counter.

This place is exactly what a local bar should be. From the moment you walk in, you feel like family. The atmosphere is laid-back and authentic—no frills, just good vibes, great music, and a genuinely welcoming crowd. The bartenders are amazing; they know their stuff, remember your order, and always have a friendly word. The drinks are strong and fairly priced, and the menu, while simple, is always on point. This isn't just a place to grab a drink; it's a community hub. It's clear that this bar is a labor of love for the owners, and they put their heart into making it a great spot for everyone. If you're looking for an authentic, local experience and want to support a fantastic small business that truly serves the community, this is the spot. I’m a regular now, and I can't recommend it enough. Five stars all the way!

I went to Patria’s a while back on a Wednesday around 11:00 so my memory might be a lil spotty, but I think I will recall a lot of accurate things in this review. It was my 1st and last time here, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t go here again. I most absolutely would go here again! It was a great experience, but it was more so that the place is far from me and I would go again if I met up with friends there. It was a warm day and was a lil warm inside, but there was seating to be found so all was well.. My assessment of my visit will go over 4 things which are cleanliness, aesthetic, employee engagement and food with an overall thought regarding if I would return to this place: Aesthetic: I love the intermingling of coffee and chicanx/latinx here! Super cute with plant mom vibes, very much my vibe lol there is a good amount of seating, but if you got there when it was busy, you might not make it to a table. Of course, the music was great! Good volume for talking with others. Outlets were placed in good places and there were enough throughout the place. This place is a vibe and I like it a lot! Cleanliness: Patria is very clean and it was a great place to do work and not feel cluttered. No trash on the tables or the floors. Restrooms are clean too. Employee Engagement: I was served by a wonderfully nice lady and another employee. They were super engaging and polite, helpful and kind. I asked them questions about their plants for sale and they had all the information at their fingertips. Wonderful! Food: I just got the Mexican Mocha and it was so good!! Probably the best one that I’ve had from a coffee shop! You can tell that they actually use Ibarra and that makes a huuuuuge difference. Overall Thoughts: I looooooove this place! I’m just sad that I live so far from it! It is so good and the atmosphere fits my work study style so well! I can’t go consistently, but I suggest that ya’ll go to Patria and grab yourself something.

This shop holds a special place because I grew up here as a teen and coming back to Compton as an adult is nostalgic and bittersweet in some ways. The coffee here is always spot on and it's the perfect place to read, catch up with friends or simply to people watch.
Lety C — Google review
I've seen Patria Coffee Roasters on a few different Best Coffee Shop in LA lists so when I was on my train ride home from Long Beach, I stopped by Compton to check out this little coffee shop. Before discovering Patria, the only thing I knew about Compton is that it's the hometown to the Williams sisters, but I had no idea where it is and I would not have guessed that I'd come to Compton for a coffee shop. It was a worthy visit indeed. I mean, I wouldn't take the metro and come from LA just for a cup of coffee but at least Patria deserves those best of mentions. My flat white was on point, I enjoyed it even though I was tired and full after a long run and a food tour in downtown LBC. The shop is smaller than I expected, the coffee bar and service counter on one side and a few small tables on the other. It was packed during my Sunday afternoon visit. When I saw their bean bags on the merchandise shelf, it occurred to me that I've seen them at a local coffee shop in Hollywood. The bean bag design features a picture of the coffee shop, seen from its front lawn. There is a sense of pride and belonging in that picture, and that's what I felt about the coffee shop too.

Kindness & Mischief Coffee is a charming cafe nestled in a tranquil neighborhood, offering an array of coffee, tea, and delectable pastries. The founder, Mo, a Filipino immigrant, has fostered a sense of unity and kindness within the Highland Park community by providing space for local vendors to showcase their goods and collaborating with them on the menu. The cafe's motto 'Be Kind Make Mischief' reflects its ethos. Visitors can enjoy specialty drinks like 'Minority?'
Went in here because I wanted to check out the neighborhood. The owner here was kind, we chat a bit about how the area is transforming, it used to be sketchy 15 years ago. It is now a vibrant safe area. Tried their MISO latte, it was unique! Highly recommended.

Kindness & Mischief Coffee is a nice spot in the heart of Highland Park! The vibe here is effortlessly cool, with a cozy, artsy atmosphere that makes it the perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. The coffee was good—I highly recommend their almond milk mocha, which was creamy and perfectly balanced. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall charm of the place. I love the little touches, like the quirky artwork and the thoughtful details in their presentation. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into everything they do. It can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends, and seating can be a bit tight. But honestly, that’s just a testament to how popular this place is! If you’re in the area, Kindness & Mischief is definitely worth a visit. It’s a great spot to enjoy quality coffee and soak in the local Highland Park vibe.

The cashier was super friendly! It was my first time trying pandesal. I liked that it had many flavors and its pillowy interior and a golden, sandy exterior dusted with breadcrumbs. However, it wasn’t my favorite kind of bread because I prefer french pastries. It was still very good though! Overall, I like this cafe and will come back to use my laptop and hang out there in a random afternoon.

K & M Coffee Roasters (est 2018) is a chic coffee shop that serve coffee, teas, breakfast and pastries. They are located at HighlandPark neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. Their hours are from Mon-Sun 7am - 4pm. They have a modest selection of coffee/tea, pastries and food items. Similarly, they sell a wide selection of merch, mugs, coffee bags, straws etc. I came early morning and was warmly greeted by a young cute female staff. I ordered a hot Mocha Latte. It was brewed perfectly. Interior decor was adorable and the vibe was relaxing. Prices seem reasonable. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed my coffee. I recommend this coffee shop.

This place leans playful without being precious. I tried the honey oat latte and a slice of banana bread that tasted homemade in the best way. The playlist skews indie with just enough 90s nostalgia to keep you smiling. Seating is cozy—counter stools, a couple of two-tops, and a bench by the window. Street parking can be tight, but turnover is steady.
Slava M — Google review
I have been visiting Kindness and Mischief over the years, and every single time I feel so welcome. There is a joyful energy and a real spirit of creativity at play in this space. Highland Park has changed over many years from being an affordable low income area, to one that is become increasingly gentrified. Kindness and Mischief represents the spirit of pulling an idea together and building something amazing. Taking a chance on a space and an area to grow. Although I do not live in the Los Angeles area any longer, I will always push people to take a detour on their adventures and spend some time at this establishment.

Love the name, and the atmosphere matches. I ordered a horchata latte and it was deliciously creamy. They also sell some local art and zines which gives the space personality. It’s a smaller shop, so not ideal for long laptop sessions. Still, the drinks are unique and the baristas are welcoming.

Joules & Watts Coffee is a small, local coffee roaster in Malibu that sources and roasts single-origin coffee beans from around the world. The cafe features comfortable seating with an eclectic art display, as well as delicious gelato made with natural and organic ingredients.
Looking for a perfect cup of coffee?! It’s here! Go now! You won't regret it! Joules & Watt's is an independently owned coffee shop by someone SO PASSIONATE about coffee that you will have a perfect cup of deliciousness every single time. It's really unbelievable. And if you REALLY love it, they even have a subscription service through their website to get coffee shipped straight to your home! I'm serious. I'll never go to a chain coffee store ever again. I'm spoiled now. And I'll never look back P.S. Right now as a perk of a newly opened store front (and that it's summer), they're also selling Nancy's Fancy Gelato (and yes, it's THE Nancy Silverton!)

Cute little spot with tasty looking pastries and excellent customer service. I really enjoyed talking with the two gentlemen behind the counter and they knew coffee really well. I tried the drip - which was excellent. And ended up with the cold brew because the description I received was on point. The cold brew was flavorful and easy to drink black. A little bit of cacao and maybe even an orange peel flavor. Would recommend a stop through.

Just stopped here and experienced very kind and lovely service. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it is so good! Very smooth and rich, just enough sweetness and not too overpowering. I also ordered a scoop of the Honduran Coffee Gelato and it was also super smooth! Really enjoyed that the coffee flavor wasn't too gritty or syrupy sweet. Really enjoyed this place and I can't wait to stop in again!

Nestled in the vibrant Sunset Junction area, Intelligentsia Coffee Silver Lake Coffeebar is a high-end coffee haven that has been captivating locals and visitors alike since its inception in 2007. This chic establishment boasts a contemporary ambiance, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and productivity. The coffee served here is roasted just around the corner in Glassell Park, ensuring freshness with every cup.
This is one of my favorite cafes to get out of the house and work at. It’s pretty busy in the mornings and not ideal for any working professionals- during that time. Mornings and afternoons tend to be a better spot to grab a coffee with a friend. If you are a freelancer like me and get to determine your hours, the evening 2-6 is prime time. The place calms down, you can find indoor and outdoor seating. I normally bring my headphones but the staff always have good music playing. The Avena Latte is your gal, if you like a little spice and fun to your latte, marry her, run away with this latte all the way to an outdoor seating. The quiche Lorraine and curry pastry are both divine.

From the moment you step into this Silver Lake spot, you can tell the team takes coffee seriously — the craftsmanship at the bar is full-on attentive and precise. The beans feel premium and freshly roasted, and you’ll pick up on subtle flavor notes in every sip. The baristas are genuinely knowledgeable, walking you through origin, roast, and brew-style like they’re passionate about it (because they are). The space itself is modern yet relaxed, with indoor and outdoor seating that invites either a focused solo session or a casual catch-up with friends. The only minor drawback: it’s popular, so during peak hours you might wait a bit longer than you’d hope. But trust me — for high-quality coffee served by intelligent, engaged craft-minded baristas in a great setting, it’s well worth the stop.
Keith J — Google review
The LA Times features Intelligentsia on their “This Must Be Silver Lake” guide and I was soooo excited for it but ultimately left a little disappointed. I got the smoked maple latte, which was not very strong in the coffee or maple directions. The coffee did have light chocolate notes, but it was very light — tasted like sweet milk. The guide said their coffee was strong ;-; I appreciate how they do not charge extra for almond or oat milk even though I opted to whole milk in the end, and the interior is very cute. Service is friendly and speedy.
Anna H — Google review
The coffee tasted like what the typical Silver Lake coffee spots offer, nothing special, just overpriced. The pastries looked fresh. It's a great spot though to study for a couple hours.

I stopped by Intelligentsia Silver Lake one morning and appreciated that it's open quite early in the morning. My flat white was average, not fantastic nor terrible. One thing that stood out is that it's only 6oz, a short one for 5 bucks. The shop has plenty outdoor seats in its big porch and around the building. Inside the decor has an interesting look but a bit dim to my taste. Service was friendly.
Yü W — Google review
Not impressed with this spot. It was kind of a bummer too because I drive past it everyday and was looking forward to checking it out. The staff is super cold and unwelcoming. It's always a turn off to me when I enter a place and the employee behind the cash register just kind of stares at me without saying anything. I didn't know if she was waiting on something or it was my time to order. My girlfriend ordered an iced matcha and said it was one of the worst ones she's ever had. She drinks a matcha everyday so she would have a better gauge of that than I would. It seemed to be poured out of a container too rather than made fresh. My americano was pretty average but the whole experience makes me not want to visit again. Bummer because the building is super cool.
Guy H — Google review
Intelligentsia Coffee in Silver Lake earns a solid 4 stars for service. The baristas are knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their craft, which makes the coffee experience all the better. They’re friendly and helpful, happy to recommend drinks or explain the differences between their various brew methods. That said, the service can be a bit slow during peak hours. With the shop being a popular spot, it gets crowded, and you might end up waiting longer than expected for your coffee. While the staff is attentive, the rush can affect the overall speed of service, especially if you’re in a hurry. Still, the quality of the coffee and the overall vibe make up for the slight delays, and the baristas’ positive attitudes definitely enhance the experience. Even with the occasional wait, it’s worth it for a great cup of coffee in a laid-back, cool space.

I love @intelligentsia Coffee. Until September, they have a watermelon addition to your coffee. I tried it alone and it was yummy. Maybe it would be better with a soda or tea. Took a 6:30 AM yoga class and was looking for coffee and this was already open so I stopped by and got a Darth Mocha, which isn’t sweet at all, they use a dark chocolate, espresso, charcoal, sea salt, and milk of your choice and you can get it hot or cold. A sweet girl that was in my yoga class actually let me in on a little secret…. if you’re in line and you’re at the front… the frame to the right is actually a secret menu so you can just pop it right off and the menu will be on the back ! I am a sucker for cinnamon donuts, and when I saw the cinnamon twist, I knew I needed to have it. It tastes like a churro and it would probably be so delicious dipped in your hot coffee, but I opted for a cold ! It is very vibey inside, but there is seating inside or outside depending on the weather and what your vibe is. The workers are super sweet and really know their menu well so you can ask for recommendations!! I’ll be back after more yoga classes 😉

Great coffee! We had their cappucino, mocha and Spanish latte and we loved all of it. They have a simple menu which makes ordering a breeze. They close exactly at 6pm though but we were able to sit at the tables outside.

Great spot in Venice by the beach to drink a coffee and even sit down on the space outside. We were able to take our dogs, and enjoy a delicious creamy coffee and latte just before heading to the beach. Parking can be a little tricky like everywhere in the area. But if you're driving, you can find free street parking few streets down.

We’re local to the area and have tried all the coffee shops in the neighborhood. Menotti’s is hands down the best option. Their drinks are delicious. We especially love the cold brew — smooth, bold and never watered down. Thank you for being our safe haven in a neighborhood full of chaos.

7 years between visits and still as amazing. The coffee is an experience. An absolute must have. We also opted for a pear cake , a sprinkle donut and chocolate chip sea salt cookies. Wish they had a Menotti’s where we live.

Super yummy coffee and pastries too! Always some sort of a line but totally worth the wait. Loved my latte and the Spanish latte, super tasty and no bitterness. Great service to boot!

Nestled in a tiny corner of Venice Beach lies this lovely coffee shop. It's small, cozy, and has a super nice outdoor seating area that borders the beach! The menu is simple and very well executed (and I would say the same goes for the decor and just the overall vibe). I had an amazing espresso tonic that was perfect for the summer morning! All the staff were very nice and happy to talk me through the menu too. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Coming here on a nice summer morning and drinking coffee outside the shop is a unique feeling that is rare to capture. I can't wait to do it again when I'm back in California!

Cafe de Leche is an indie coffee shop that has been a part of the Highland Park community since 2008. Founded by Anya, a native Nicaraguan, and her husband Matt, this colorful and casual cafe serves Latin-inspired drinks like their signature Cafe de Leche. The cafe aims to bring families and the community together over a cup of coffee, offering a relaxing and chill atmosphere with cute decor.
If you’re looking for a chill spot to get your caffeine fix, this place is it. Tons of seating and loads of natural light make it perfect for getting some work done or just hanging out. The coffee is seriously good, and their huge butter croissants are out of this world. Plus, the staff is super friendly, which is always a win. Definitely worth checking out!

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff/baristas. I had the mexi mocha w/spices but I recommend having it without. Latte Campesino was best served hot, personally. All around great and I recommend 👍

Small, local coffee shop with good quality coffee, calm and slightly upbeat vibe. Nice place to relax, read, work. I don’t remember the name of my latte but it has star anise and orange peel. I opted for oat milk. They have almond milk too. It was delicious! The atmosphere is fine, just a bit crowded and messy towards the back with coffee beans and an actual in-house roaster. So, while a bit messy, it’s also unique and cool to see.

It was a good morning, got coffee here and it became a great morning. I ordered the Horchata con espresso iced and it was delicious. Solid flavor and it was a great pick me up drink. Solid spot to chill and bring your laptop or read with a cup of joe. I’d definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items.

the coffee was pretty good as we ordered two of the horchata latte hot and iced. they came out fairly quickly and the store really followed CoViD guidelines which pleased us. although the customer service was a little minimal it was an overall good visit in a nice part of town.

One of my favorite places to get coffee. They import coffee from select growers and roast it in-house. They have a great selection of drinks and you can purchase bags of coffee to make at home. They deliver and you can purchase from their website. No dine-in seating buy outdoor tables are available. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is no parking lot but there's is plenty of street parking.

Café de Leche is a cozy café tucked away and it’s the perfect spot for coffee lovers. I had their iced latte, and it was perfectly balanced—not too sweet but just right. The atmosphere is chill and welcoming, with a nice mix of locals hanging out. I also tried their pastries, and they were so fresh and delicious. Definitely a great place to study or just relax.

Probably one of my favorite cafes in the area. Baristas are very knowledgeable about the coffee they serve, and were happy to tell me about it. I had their cafe latte and cold brew and both of them had a lot of characteristics and great flavor. Their almond croissant was amazing as well. The back of the store was a pleasant surprise as it had an amazing garden view in the beach area.

Easy stop to make off of California-1. Great coffee with unique drink options (I.e. cafe nico) and their own roasted beans, other local goods (cards, jam, honey, tea, etc.,). Patio in the back is nice and quiet, but shaded. Prices were typical of other cafes

Great location and fit out. Coffee beans are a dark Italian roast so if you like Illy, Lavazza, costa or Nero then you will really enjoy this coffee shop. If you’re been on the artisan coffee scene looking for exceptional coffee then best avoided.

Delicious pastries! Coffee is definitely one of a kind. Super chic dining area and I did NOT want to leave the patio area. I went pretty early so no one was really there and it was nice to take it in as it was. Super nice barista and gave us a little info about Caffe Luxxe and told us to come back. I had a sugar cane latte and a squash pastries that hit the spot. Definitely coming back every time I make my visit to pepperdine.

First time here & we always pass by it when driving through the pacific coast highway. I ordered a Cappuccino with almond milk and extra shots of espresso. Excellent flavor, great temperature & overall great drink. There’s a lot of indoor seating with awesome decor and surprisingly the outdoor in the back side is plenty large with green grass(chill spot for a cup of Joe with friends). Parking is limited so on heavy days, it’s probably packed. Definitely recommend getting a coffee here. It’s a bit high priced but still pretty darn good.

So happy I stumbled upon this place — spots with this kind of vibe and food selection are so rare in the US, and I’ve really missed them. The atmosphere is amazing, the coffee is delicious, and there’s a great variety of food and pastries. Plus, there are always some insanely beautiful cars parked outside — such a fun bonus! 10/10, absolutely love it!

This was a great cafe! We were in LA on vacation and this place was highly rated in the Santa Monica region, so we figured we’d stop by! And it did not disappoint!. Coffee was delicious and it was probably one of the best vanilla lattes I have had! The Magma Mocca was spicy, but also really good! I could see that they put a lot of effort and time into making these coffees🥰 I also love that we were actually given mugs for our coffee and not just a paper cup like so many cafes have resorted to using (because of convenience) after Covid! That elevates the coffee experience for sure! The food was also very good! They make everything right there in the front so you can see what they are doing! I also asked to swap out the meat in my burrito for bacon and they were very accommodating! The staff was also very nice and they all had a nice vibe with each other which made the over all vibe and feel of the store very friendly and welcoming! Vibes (decor) inside was very nice and I think sitting here with a up of coffee and a book would be such a vibe😊the outside had pick nick tables and higher tables with bar chairs. All in all, when I come to LA again I will definitely stop by!

This place has a great atmosphere and delicious coffee! Food smells amazing, and I love the funky coffee wallpaper on the back wall. That being said, do not come here if you are in a hurry. The employees were very kind, but 20 minutes for a cup of coffee almost made me late. I will Definitely come back here when I have more time to hang out and enjoy.

3/3 hidden coffee gem. I really enjoyed everything I got from this coffee shop. Delicious food, lattes and unsweetened cold tea. The space is lovely with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was fast even for the morning rush. I love their hot sauce that goes with the savory items (breakfast 🥐 and burritos). Yumlicious. Note to management find a way to bottle that hot sauce.

Delicious drinks and yummy breakfast burritos, to be enjoyed in the indoor living room-esque seating area or outdoor high tables. Many people on their laptops here, they have fast WiFi so good for doing some work but not the most ergonomic seating. Parking is confusing, the lot was blocked by cones. I parked in the alley way — seemed okay? $27 for a burrito and two drinks + 15% tip 😳 Highly recommend the Gold Coast.

Regent Coffee Roasters and Brew Bar is a trendy spot in LA, founded by Leon, a former banker with a deep passion for coffee. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it more than just a coffee shop; it's an inviting place to savor delicious house-roasted beans in craft drinks. Customers can also purchase brewing gear and retail beans.
After Porto’s I saw this spot and it was a great place to start off your day. I had a hot matcha latte with honey, a vegan mango coconut chia seed protein snack and a cold brew. The drink was delicious and the vegan snack was phenomenal. The cold brew was descent and had hints of cherry. I’d definitely come back to try their other menu items.

This place is such a gem. It’s obvious they take pride in their craft. Their menu rotates and their seasonal were all super creative. I was indecisive and I got a lot of patient explanation and suggestions. Super happy with my choice of a bourbon tiramisu dream. Gorgeous presentation and tasty (which is the point). It shows great attention to detail. Cold brew and other single origin beans are available. This place has the perfect local LA vibe. Will be swinging by again.

I Like Coffee Because It Gives Me The Illusion That I Might Be Good At Giving Reviews. That said let’s begin this roaster review. Regent Coffee is a local coffee roaster that produce exceptional quality drinks. They are located on Brand ave in Glendale. They have coffee and tea drinks as well as specialties. Similarly, they offer a limited pastries. Indoor seats are nonexistent albeit they have front outdoor seats with a fantastic street view. We came on a warm-98 degree-afternoon to quench our thirst. We were perfunctorily greeted by a tall female (with pink highlight hair) staff. I perused their menu and ordered a Burundi Cold Brew ($7.50) x 1/2 & 1/2 milk. I was desirous of having refreshing drink at this shop, and they did not disappoint. My CB was really smooth, full, and perfectly sweetened with slight hint of Mango fruit. Prices matched the quality of their coffee drinks. Service was good. Staff were affable with compendious knowledge of coffee making. Vibe was positive. Overall, as a first time customer I liked my cold brew and had a pleasant order experience. I highly recommend you visit.

Unique specialty coffee and brews. The bourbon barrel method is an incredible concept for amazing mocktails. This place is a gem in the Glendale area for any specialty coffee lover ☕️ (Managed to try their Cortado, iced americano, and the ‘Bourbon Old Fashion’ cold brew topped with orange peel 🥃 🧊 🍊)

Fantastic!!! It’s by far the best gourmet specialty coffee beans I’ve ever tried, and I have tried many! It doesn’t get any fresher as they roast their own coffee in-house. Most roast dates are a day or two from the day you picked them up or the shipping date. I’m so happy that I discovered this place. For all of the coffee enthusiast who are into exotic specialty coffee, this is top-tier stuff, and everyone is super friendly and helpful at the shop.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a beloved coffee bar chain that has made its mark with house-roasted, direct-trade coffee. Originating from Portland, this gem opened its first California location in the vibrant Arts District back in 2013, much to the delight of local coffee enthusiasts. Known for their unwavering commitment to sustainability and social justice, every sip you take contributes positively to both society and the environment.
I’m familiar with stumptown for their cold brews at local grocery stores and I was surprised they had a storefront close by. I ordered a latte with almond milk and an extra shot of espresso. Overall the coffee was delicious and had the right temperature. I’d definitely come back here again for their other menu items.

Consistent high quality roasts. I will go out of my way to visit this location specifically for freshly roasted beans. I enjoy the layout, and the fact that you can sit outside and enjoy your coffee.
Brooks J — Google review
I’ve tried a few various lattes here and even their seasonal ones and they all taste the same. Not the best but not the worse. They offer limited latte choices and slightly higher than average price for a latte. I think I paid $8.35 for a latte with oat (lactose intolerant). That’s without tip. Although I was impressed how they froth the oat milk since oat doesn’t froth as well as whole or lactose free milk. The baristas also answer like they don’t want to be there, but perhaps it was because it was 7:00AM. Regardless this review is not going off baristas, rather the coffee.

Very nice layout of the Business, Very Eye appealing when you walk in. I got seasonal drink peachy keen(see attached photos) I really enjoyed the drink. My wifey got an Machiato (she is a coffee junkie, and she gives it a 5 star) . As I try new places , I always ask, what's different about this place than other coffee shops, what's the Popular Item, etc.. cashier didn't really give me the best answer for it!, so the interaction was a little awkward. Reason why I gave it a 4 star, but still a nice place to try (:

These people care about coffee and they care about your experience and that shows. I go out of my way (geographically) to get coffee from Stumptown and I've never regretted it.My coworkers and I take stumptown trips at least 3 times a week [even though we have their cold brew on tap]. All the workers are friggin awesome and friendly, coffee is always good... especially the iced mocha :P The only issue I have is the fact that the sparkling tea is no longer served, BUT they can't take it off the menu because of some corporate lameness [apparently only one person in the company from portland can erase and write the menu?!]. Mint tea is a great alternative, btdubs. They're also dangerously close to Mast chocolates. This is my summer body, yo.

Verve Coffee Roasters, a Northern California-based coffee chain, has made its mark in Los Angeles with its modern spaces adorned with wooden decor. The Santa Cruz import has expanded to various locations around the city, including a flagship outlet in West Hollywood. The Arts District outpost is particularly noteworthy for its ambitious features such as a glass-fronted Roastery Del Sur, space-age espresso machines, and an upstairs tasting lab offering specialty drinks.
I have to preface by saying parking was hard to find and even the location itself was hard to find. Also, the music is very, very loud— sometimes great selection sometimes not. But aside from that, or maybe because of that, this place is a gem. Verve on its own is not necessarily the most special thing in LA, or in general, but this location and setup is absolutely golden. Such a cool place in arts district to see people working or chatting or creating. Huge windows, just a good environment to focus and get stuff done. Good to know what you want/read reviews ahead— staff may not always be able to answer questions about drinks (I’m sure most are, but the person who took my order wasn’t). Regardless the drink was great. This is a good spot.

Aesthetic woody interior and lots of tables with good height for working but I wish the tables were bigger and more optimally shaped for studying, particularly in the upstairs area. There are no outlets in sight but the WiFi is pretty good and there’s no password. My latte was a little bit bitter and smoky, but most of all probably the SALTIEST latte I have ever had. It did not have a sweet aftertaste at all — not even the milk — which I was surprised by since they use Clover milk and I had just had a latte somewhere else with Clover where I felt the milk made it feel very sweet. The honey lavender draft was really smooth, though; I was a big fan of the texture of that.

Verve Coffee Roasters on Spring Street is one of the coolest coffee shops I’ve ever seen—and that’s saying something in LA. The space is gorgeous: wide open, full of natural light, a perfect blend of minimal and warm. Think wood, concrete, plants, and the kind of attention to design that doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard. Just smooth, unfussy cool. The coffee is everything you’d expect from one of California’s best roasters. Their signature Streetlevel espresso is balanced and dialed—bright citrus, a little stone fruit, and just enough depth to keep it grounded. Whether you’re into cortados, lattes, or a straight-up shot, they’re pulling it clean every time. Pour-over fans will appreciate the rotating single-origin options, and their cold brew is clean, chocolatey, and never bitter. They also offer creative seasonal drinks—sometimes with house-made syrups or infusions that don’t overpower the coffee. And while Verve doesn’t do full kitchen service, their selection of fresh pastries, light bowls, and grab-and-go snacks is curated and always top-tier. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and quick without making you feel rushed. You get the sense they actually care that your drink comes out right—not just fast. The whole experience is relaxed but efficient, and the music and ambiance make it easy to hang, work, or meet. If you’re a coffee purist or just into beautiful spaces with good energy and great drinks, Verve on Spring is a DTLA staple. Nothing gimmicky—just well-executed craft coffee and a space you actually want to spend time in.

Popped in for breakfast and accidentally entered a co-working space disguised as a café. Giant ceilings, natural light for days, and enough laptops to launch a startup. The avocado toast? Serving looks and flavor—basic, but in the best way.

I really love this place they have the best Açaí Bowls no contest they make everything in house it’s all organic way than Kreation and even the açaí bowl place down the street not even close. Their coffee is super good too. They have all kinds of food they have a really good ham and manchego cheese sandwich, chia seed pudding and up-quality’d classic coffee house snacks in addition to really good basic breakfasts like scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. It’s been way too long I need to go back.

Love this location! The interior design is so bright and spacious. The lattes here are the best we've had over many visits to LA. The flavor is consistently good and the temperature perfectly hot (not lukewarm like several other places). We were given a number to take to our table, but we saw the staff chatting away while our drinks were ready on the counter, so my wife went downstairs to get them, nearly burning her hands in the process. Again not complaining about the latte temp and the serving cups are lovely.

Wow - LOVE this coffee shop. Not only was the coffee perfect, in my opinion - I wasn’t expecting them to have biscuits and jam - I am a huge biscuit fan and let me tell you - those are some really good biscuits! Unfortunately this is the only location that serves them but honestly, it’s worth the drive. The breakfast is fantastic. So good, my partner ordered a second plate right after finishing. The atmosphere - well lit, great for working. There are 2 levels and plenty of seating. The parking was a bit tight but we made it work. If you’re someone that cares about the quality of your espresso/espresso drinks - this is a solid stop. Will be back. Thank you for a great experience.

At Maru Coffee, the team prides themselves on creating simple and minimalistic spaces that are as welcoming as they are delicious. From their DTLA location to their Hillhurst shop in Los Feliz, customers can expect high-quality coffee and accessories that are both stylish and soothing to look at.
Very much the best coffee roaster I’ve been to in LA yet. Their iced pour over was perfection in a cup. It’s literally everything I love in a coffee. Slow Pour Over, iced, perfectly balanced ratio, floral nose and flavor. Mellow, not bitter. And crystal clear with no residue. Near Perfection.
Jake E — Google review
I’ve been to Maru so many times and always loved their coffee — I even posted on Instagram to recommend them. But this summer, my first visit back was really disappointing. I bought a bag of beans that was clearly 10oz, but I was charged $40 (the price of the 20oz bag). The cashier even looked at the size before ringing it up. Later, when I noticed the mistake and went back, the staff only offered a refund with no apology. I told them I’d rather just switch for a 20oz bag, but they didn’t offer any help. I ended up doing the exchange myself and left after saying a very awkward “thank you,” without them saying anything back. What makes me sad is that earlier this year, the vibe and service here were always warm and welcoming. Lately, with some staff change, the energy feels totally different — colder, less friendly. Honestly, it doesn’t feel as recommendable as it used to.
Yaqian Z — Google review
One of the best coffee roasters in Los Angeles. I always stop by and get beans and a cold brew when I’m in the area. The baristas make great recommendations. Last time my friend got a sparkling lemonade and it was cool to see them slicing the lemon and making the drink from scratch. Also very tasty I usually park on the street or around the corner on Sacramento St. near the City Club Bar.

I’m the odd man out, I get that. Their signature coffee had all the allure and wow factors that I’d expected. Although it was good, nutty coffee, it wasn’t my favorite flavor either. Don’t think it was worth the sweaty 30+ min wait in line in the middle of my Saturday, but cheers to those devotees who filled the store!

Tucked away and hidden in plain sight (at least to me because l've never seen this place and I drive down Santa Fe all the time) is this extremely cool little coffee shop that brings the minimalistic, neat and organized traditional vibes with some incredible tasting matcha and coffee. Photos don't do the matcha latte I linked under justice it was in my opinion one of the top 3 matchas ive ever had. They have some small bites to eat as well, I didn't order but I saw a lot of people going with what I think was a matcha crumble donut? It was small and green and looked great, especially if their drinks were this good. It can get busy around lunch time and breakfast rush, and seating is limited. But try it out, you won't be disappointed!!
David B — Google review
What a matcha! Very high-quality and perfectly made drink. The place is super pretty and great for a chat, but there isn’t much space so be prepared to be surrounded by a lot of people. Still, it’s totally worth it! The coffee is also delicious and high quality. I tried the natural latte, and wow a sip to heaven!
Miguel A — Google review
Cute coffee shop in LA but didn’t feel anything too special/unique, but definitely more known for their coffee than as a matcha shop. Their coffee carries more citrusy notes, which was interesting. Their interior is also pretty cute and had a few seating spots!

The food was delicious!! Wouldn’t have expected it from a coffee shop, but one of the best breakfast spots I’ve been to in a while. What really won me over was that the chilaquiles were actually spicy🌶️!! Coffee was solid I got the vanilla latte (good amount of coffee flavor, the vanilla didn’t mask it).

It’s official I really love highland park. This Civil location is tucked away in the cutest area by a railroad. Interior is nice, lots of seating, good vibes. Drink was solid— they were out of a few things so had to pivot, but it was great. I don’t think Civil would be a regular spot for me, but it’s certainly a solid one and good for studying.

My girlfriend and I both loved this spot. The vibe is clean and minimalist. Service was nice and we received the food pretty fast. About 5-10 minute wait. Plenty of inside and outside seating with plenty shade. The food was amazing and the coffee was just great! Highly recommended!

To be fair - cold brew here is pretty solid and I’ve visited many times before but just had a hilarious interaction that will make me think twice about returning. Ordered a black cold brew with no ice because I have an early flight and wanted quality am coffee. Person at register told me it wouldn’t be filled to the top. Hm… how weird… but fair warning I guess. Tipped her a buck and moved to the counter. I get my coffee and it’s barely half full… and I’m an optimist! Lol, I thought she meant… maybe an inch of room at the top… but hard line at half full. Asked for clarification and while the baristas were super polite and friendly, even offering to fill it up the rest of the way for an additional $1.75 my flabbers were gasted. Lol? This is $5.50 worth of coffee apparently typically crammed with lots of ice. Here’s the thing, I would have spent way more money over my lifespan there than the 15 cents worth of product they would have lost out on by filling that to the top. What a silly hill to die on. Can’t speak to anything else at Civil but I can tell you that when superior choices like Kindness and Mischief or Jane are available in the neighborhood, there’s no reason to come here for cold brew.

Really disappointed to find out this place doesn’t have WIFI?! Drove 15 min to get here, took forever to find parking, order my $8 Matcha, I pull out my work items and computer and I find out NO WIFI! Really?! 2025? Definitely won’t be back. The staff was really friendly though and the space is great. But whose idea was No WiFi?

Tilt Coffee Bar is a small, minimalist coffee shop located in DTLA. It opened its doors in 2016 and offers artisanal drinks, tea, and a selection of baked goods. The outdoor setting provides a beautiful ambiance to enjoy handcrafted beverages like the popular Cloud Latte. The unique and cozy environment adds to the charm of this coffee bar, which is situated inside an apartment building.
What a cute little coffee shop . Right in the heart of downtown . A little ghetto outside but when you walk into the complex this little coffee shop is the star of the area . The flat white and maple latte were really good ! Love that they make it extra hot without asking ! The baked goods looked so yummy ! We had to try one - we got a toasted cranberry and cheese danish - it was delicious 🤤 !

TILT COFFEE BAR (est. 2016) is cute highly-rated Downtown LA coffee shop. They're somewhat hidden given its location at the center of an apartment building in the middle of lil Tokyo. Despite its tiny outpost size they make incredibly good coffee, delicious albeit modest pastries and an outdoor seats with impeccable view of DTLA. Tilt's menu is pretty modest with a collection of coffee, tea and specialty items. I came on a warm afternoon and was perfunctorily greeted by a male staff. I perused their menu and ordered a Cold Brew x Choc Croissant. Both were satisfying. Staff was cordial and competent. Service was spot on. Parking (metered parking) was surprisingly easy given its in down town LA. Overall, it's a nice hidden gem to grab coffee and enjoy the smell of DTLA.

Found this quaint coffee place. It’s is not a bar but a little coffee shop with seating outside. They roast their coffee onsite and the smell of fresh coffee…I am in heaven. Tried their Cloud Mocha Chocolate + Milk + Double Espresso + Cloud Cream - drank it hot. It is amazing. As you sip the layers of chocolate then coffee then cream….

I go every week and all the waitstaff are wonderful to deal with💗You can bring your dog with you and order in peace. I recommend weekdays as there is a very long line on weekends. Thanks for the delicious drinks‼︎
Shiho Y — Google review
The drink quality is frequently praised: visitors highlight specialty items like the Cloud Latte and Cloud Mocha for their layered flavours and signature “cloud cream” topping. The ambiance is pleasant and somewhat tucked-away: though located in busy downtown, Tilt sits in a courtyard/green-space type setting between buildings, making it feel more relaxed and outside of the usual hustle. Friendly & knowledgeable staff: Several reviews mention the service is upbeat and the staff seem engaged in the craft of coffee.

Really dig this inner city downtown LA spot with a very minimalist futurism style. Apparently designed by the architects of the housing surrounding the cafe, this spot sits in the courtyard away from the horrors of living in DTLA. Super sleek concrete and glass design, it’s just a small setup for ordering but with spacious outdoor seating with plenty of breathing room. The outside has some hanging sculptures and a rising hill behind it to sit along. Just be careful as the makeshift boardwalk planks are unstable and pop and shift as you walk along it. Almost tripped me up a few times. Cloud Latte was their signature drink and very tasty. The espresso was bright and came through even with the flavorful sweet cream on top. I don’t know that I’d come down here specifically for coffee but if I’m ever in that area for whatever reason, I’ll definitely stop by.
Avedon A — Google review
My husband’s favorite matcha latte is made by the knowledgeable staff members here at Tilt. This has been one of the first and lasting retail spaces in the Medallion Apartments building. Nice seating area outside with fresh grass and shaded tables. Great space to take kids because they have a set of big steps next to the shop and a grass hill, making it a fun space to run along. Also makes a good place to work on a lap top for a bit or meet up with a friend. Nice selection of baked goods, always fresh and always feels like a treat. Price point is fair for their excellent quality of offerings and for being in the middle of DTLA. Their matcha lattes are around $6. My friend really enjoys their ice hazelnut lattes. I usually pick one of their ready-made-drinks from the fridge cause I’m usually thirsty and when I get to that area of town. At night the space is illuminated by a giant neon flower that hangs nearby.

Dayglow is a vibrant contemporary café that brings together the art of coffee brewing and gourmet donuts in an inviting atmosphere. Founded by Tohm Ifergan, a passionate coffee enthusiast with a rich background as a touring drummer and experiences from Mexico City to Chicago, Dayglow showcases an impressive selection of artisan coffees sourced from talented roasters around the globe.
After I ordered my coffee, I went to the restroom. When I returned, the barista noticed that my coffee had cooled down and kindly made me a fresh one. I was truly touched by this thoughtful gesture. Not only was their service exceptional, but the coffee itself was also absolutely delicious. It was a wonderful experience that made me appreciate both the quality of the coffee and the kindness of the staff.

Dayglow is such a vibe if you’re into unique coffee and matcha drinks. (We customized)) an iced strawberry matcha latte and it was as good as it looks — earthy from the matcha, balanced with the sweet/tart strawberry, and not overly sugary. Super refreshing and perfect for a warm day. The café itself is very aesthetic — neon signs, minimal design, and shelves full of coffee beans and blends to take home. It definitely has that modern LA specialty coffee feel. Seating is limited, but they have few tables outside, it’s worth stopping in for the drinks and the atmosphere. If you’re looking for something beyond the usual coffee menu, this is the place to try.

The Warhol 2.0 was delicious as a speciality coffee drink. Not overpowering at all for a coffee, coconut forward, great spiced balance. Service a slower pace (since the drinks are more complex), so best if you are relaxed and aren’t in a rush. Donut was good too.

One of the most delicious and unique espresso tonics I’ve had. Intrigued to come back and try their seasonal menu. Downside— really tough to find parking on weekends. Good vibes inside but more of a takeaway spot.

The baristas here are amazing. They’re so nice and they pull some of the most bussin espresso shots you’ll ever have. They have a lot of fun drinks, but I highly recommend just trying a latte or cappuccino too they’re so damn good. Not much seating but it can be a vibe to sit on sunset
MartiniBomb — Google review
Guys, if you go there, please try their specials. I’m absolutely in love with the Warhol coffee (the regular one). Very unusual and well-balanced combination of creamy, citrusy and coffee flavours (see the full description in the first photo). The coffee is pretty pricy (10-12$ for special drinks) but worth of trying! Only once it was made wrong by a guy with green hair. He put a lot of ice and there was barely any cream on the top. That’s why I usually order it when there are girls on the shift. They make it perfectly!

Nestled in the vibrant Far East Plaza, Endorffeine is a sleek and minimalist espresso bar that stands out from the typical coffee shop scene. With its focus on artisanal coffee drinks crafted from premium beans sourced from Drop Coffee Roasters and Sey Coffee, this spot offers a unique experience for true coffee aficionados. Owner Jack Benchakul, who transitioned from biochemistry to pastry making, personally prepares each drink with precision and care.
If you like specialty coffee, you should visit. An incredible espresso that challenges everything you would expect: 1min extraction, on the longer side. Just amazing. I usually get ristrettos but this was spectacular. Unlike anything I’ve had before. It was served in something that looked like a liqueur glass, which was fitting. The barista has been around for long and apparently likes to experiment. I only went there once. So what you get on your visit will likely be different. But I’d surprised if it was anything but excellent. He told me he had different water recipes prepared. Really methodical guy! The shop itself also goes for something different. Dimly lit, quiet (no laptops, smaller devices must have sound turned off).

Best coffee place ever. It truly elevated my palate and appreciation for coffee. Each cup strikes a perfect balance of flavor and depth—but to fully enjoy his creations, you need to be a true coffee enthusiast. His brewing is a blend of art and science, and you’ll find yourself admiring the craft as much as the taste. Too bad, I don't live in LA. :(
Andrew K — Google review
For anyone who is on a serious coffee journey, this is the Super Bowl of coffee experiences. Jack is a biochemist who meticulously brews every cup. You go here for pour overs or espressos. Think of Jiro for sushi, that is Jack for coffee. You feel like you are transported to Japan, and the ambience is more like a temple or a shrine. There isn't a lot of noise, despite being across from howling ray's, no music, no laptops or plush seating. You are there to experience coffee taken to a level that's previously unknown, to unlock the secrets of the molecule that only a few shamans have been privy. That you need to be patient is a given. This is not a place for large groups. There's counter seating around Jack, as he extracts the flavors from the bean du jour. While his cousin manages the till. You wait patiently and then take your time to savor the heavenly brew, taking time to let your nose pick the sweet, the acidity, the soul of the bean. The taste profile changes to the sublime as you get closer to room temperature. Jack is meticulous, I hesitate to use the word perfectionist as he may not agree. He may toss out a cup that isn't up to his exalted mark. You are witnessing an artisan at work, who won't compromise. I have a soft spot for the pour over, however even the espresso is a masterclass in high pressure bean extraction. Last time we spoke, Jack mentioned a possible collaboration with Diego Bermudez, my absolute favorite roaster, who have a heavenly lychee forward Colombian light roast. That would be the dream, mad hacker Diego's beans, and rocket scientist Jack's extraction. There's great coffee shops in LA from Kumquat to Maru, Dayglow to the Boy and the Bear, Good Boy Bob to Loquat, but there's only one Endorffeine. This will never be a chain, or run by employees. If I could, I'd be here everyday, but a trip to coffee heaven is a special treat I look forward to. Tip: Park across the street a few blocks south for relatively low cost metered parking options.
Sam K — Google review
A bewildering experience. I'm not sure about the type of person I would recommend this place to. We were first in line to order - the four people ahead of us had already been seated - and waited half an hour for our two coffees due to the six drinks ahead of us. So you need to have time to wait. Yet, it didn't seem like the time spent translated into a better cup of coffee. I've had better coffee in Hawaii, Japan, Singapore etc (though not many in LA which might explain Endorffeine's popularity). The place was cold, and the stainless steel counter and paraphernalia made it feel like a lab. It's not particularly warm or inviting, and it doesn't seem like you're encouraged to work there or stay long. Overall, especially given the restricted opening hours, it feels a place more for the brewer than the visitor. Elora LOT #25 ETHIOPIAN LANDRACE HONEY Ethiopia Cappuccino with Sey Elora - 4 stars A pleasant light roast. Given the brew ratio of about 1:4.5 I was suprised the texture of the drink wasn't watered down. I thought I got notes of honey but none of the peach tea/hibiscus/apricot/lime listed. Pourover - 3 stars Too one-dimensional for our tastes. My friend who usually orders pourovers preferred the cappuccino too.
N T — Google review
As far as I am concerned there are truly only two things that can and will taint the precious purity of coffee: sugar and romance, and this fine establishment rightly outlawed both (see fig. 2). But don’t worry about feeling Footloose—at least, as far as I can tell, there’s no ban on dancing... yet. The coffee is crafted with the utmost attention to detail and quality.
Annabelle F — Google review
The cappuccino I ordered at Endorffeine — prepared simply with oat milk — stands out as the most exemplary espresso-milk beverage I have ever had. What is immediately noteworthy is the absence of any bitterness or burnt notes: the espresso’s outer profile was light and nourishing, and the tactile balance with the oat milk preserved clarity rather than masking nuance. Equally striking was the aftertaste, which revealed a delicate, fruity coffee-bean note that I have long been skeptical of when others describe such flavors; here the descriptor felt precise and warranted. It is difficult to reduce the experience to exact terms without resorting to hyperbole, yet the encounter felt genuinely transformative: a confluence of careful extraction, sensitive milk-texturing, and restraint that elevated a simple cappuccino into a memorable sensory event. I offer this assessment with humility and gratitude to the team at Endorffeine — their attention to craft produced an encounter that will influence how I evaluate coffee going forward. I must also acknowledge the kindness and attentiveness of Jack, the owner, who came to the counter where I was seated and, without my prompting, graciously insisted on remaking my cappuccino because the first did not meet his own standards. That level of integrity and care is rare and deeply admirable. Moreover, the warmth of both the staff and the customers created a space that felt genuinely welcoming and earnest — an atmosphere as memorable as the coffee itself. Though I am regrettably an infrequent visitor to Los Angeles, I recommend Endorffeine without reservation to anyone seeking not only a refined coffee experience but also a place of uncommon hospitality.

ONLY RECOMMENDED FOR COFFEE PROS If you're not a coffee pro and you're driving by this place, keep driving. There are many coffee shops within a few miles with WAY better coffee and atmosphere, and chill baristas with a great personality (e.g. Kumquat and Eightfold). Like everyone says, the attitude is real here. The only positive was that we were served in glassware outside.

2018 through 2020 -I fell in love not just with the rich perfectly brewed coffee but with the warmth and kindness of the owners. It quickly became my go-to spot for a quality cup. ---- 2024 - Four years later and nothing had changed, except maybe my deeper appreciation for it. It was still my favorite coffee shop. Its the kind of place you can never go wrong with. ---- 2025 - The coffee is still as superb as ever. Just like the very first time I tried it back in 2018. It’s a joy to come in and smiling faces. Samantha always greets me with a smile and welcoming attitude. She is one of the main reasons I keep retuning. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. And the coffee options are professionally prepared to my liking by Samantha. The coffee roaster should be congratulated for the perfection that is used in preparation of the coffee drinks. Snacks and small entrees are a treat. I will definitely return and recommend to others to stop in when they are in the area.

Great ambience, and my iced vanilla latte with oat milk was delicious! The price is on the higher side, with $1.25 for the house made vanilla syrup, and disappointingly $1 for milk alternatives, but they do give a discount for bringing your own cup. Be prepared for an almost $9 iced vanilla oat latte if you don’t bring your own cup.

Great place to drink coffee. The space looks wide open, large windows, welcoming environment, and very very clean. There is no clutter in the space, plenty of space for the customer. Not like many other shops where the employees have the majority of the space in the building and customer area is crowded. There is plenty of room to breathe, great coffee to purchase for making at home. Long benches outside by the windows for sitting and relaxing. Good for a casual date and enjoy the coffee inside or outside.

While The Boy & The Bear – Coffee Roastery delivers on quality drinks—the iced salted caramel latte was enjoyable, and the espresso well-crafted—the experience was marred by an apparent lack of friendly customer service. Unfortunately, this will deter me from returning.

Definitely a shop for coffee nerds. Their single origin espresso and pour over menu is awesome and the iced pour over I ordered was immaculate. Their New England drink was great, but doesn’t hold a candle to their pour over. Also love the selection of beans on hand. This is a place that takes its craft seriously and it’s so well-executed that the steep price does not phase me. I’m not local, but I will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

This place wasn’t exactly what I had pictured. It’s a very casual coffee shop with some seatings to enjoy pastries and coffee. I got their pour over coffee (geisha) that was $10. The price is very steep, but it was different in a good way. They made it well. It was slightly on the citrusy side. I personally like my coffee on the chocolate-y and nutty side, but I just had to try the premium pour-over coffee here. The croissants were good, but I would have preferred them warm, if that was an option. Parking was free for 45 minutes WITH validation. I didn’t like the way a valet guy was talking to me as if I was a second-class citizen because I was a Kumquat patron, and not that of Jonathan Club. But, aside from the rude valet guy, it was a pleasant place to sip away coffee surrounded by skyscrapers.

This place is simply amazing! Every single thing I had here exceeded my expectations. The matcha latte, hands down, is the best I’ve ever tasted. I ordered it with no sugar and almond milk, and the flavors were phenomenal—the deep green color, earthy notes, and rich, delicious taste were perfect. The space itself is modern and spacious, with a comfortable seating area and plenty of natural light. I stayed at a hotel nearby and walked here so I am not sure about the parking in the area. They also offer a fantastic selection of pastries and breakfast burritos. I tried the white cheddar biscuit, citrus cornmeal muffin, and potato burrito, and I can highly recommend all three. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. I initially planned to explore other local coffee shops during my stay, but I ended up coming back here three days in a row because it was just that good! The potato burrito does take a few minutes to prepare, but you can easily order it ahead on their website—just be sure to choose the right location. And I love that they open at 7 AM! I’ll be dreaming about their matcha latte from now on. I can't wait to visit again!

Flat white with Ethiopia Bishan Wate - 4 stars For this lighter roast I believe they use a higher brew ratio so the texture is on the more watery side. May have gotten a little bit of jasmine but it wasn't very pronounced. Turkey sausage breakfast burrito - 3.75 stars Sausage was on the salty side and seemed to have a strong ?fennel flavour. The potatoes had the same texture as the scrambled eggs.

Kumquat Coffee is in an unassuming space with phenomenal coffee, service and breakfast burritos. The Cloudy (with a chance of peanuts), an espresso drink with peanut butter cold foam and chocolate flakes was unbelievable (I got mine with oat milk). Over the course of two days, I also had both vegetarian breakfast burritos. The egg, cheese and potato was pretty basic, but the curry tofu-based vegan cheese-less was terrific (order ahead or it will be a 15-minute wait).

Christmas Day and this was one of the only coffee spots I found open. What an awesome discovery for a higher end coffee & donut shop. I started off with their Knotted Milk Cream donut, a “New England” latte & for to go I got their Omnom cookies and cream chocolate bar. The donut was phenomenal and it wasn’t too sweet. It was light, fluffy and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. The coffee was on point, perfect flavor and temperature. The white chocolate bar was probably the greatest white chocolate I’ve ever had. I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items. I wanna try their other donuts or even get the six pack next time. Parking is limited to street or paid garage.

Equator Coffees is a beloved coffeehouse chain that has made its mark on the Californian coffee landscape, with multiple locations throughout the Bay Area and a recent expansion into Southern California. The Culver City branch, which opened in 2022, boasts an inviting atmosphere designed by Kellie Patry, featuring bright interiors and ample space for remote work.
1st visit, May 2023 Randomly happened upon this coffeehouse and our lattes were awesome. What a great surprise! I always get a latte with almond milk, and the espresso here is delicious. My partner got the Habibi and it was spectacular. Nice that their regular lattes and their specialty lattes are both outstanding. We were on foot so parking wasn't an issue (still, why people remove stars for lack of parking makes no sense to me when it's often not in the control of the business owner in a neighborhood like Culver City). We'll be back! 2nd visit, July 2023 Always a stellar experience here--such excellent service and delicious coffees! Can't wait to return and try some of their food offerings.

The best matcha l've ever had has always come from equators, their atmosphere is truly wonderful. Their employees are extremely kind, attentive, and on top of it! I have no bad remarks about this business, I recommend to try anything on the menu. However I personally have tried their matcha w/ regular cold foam as well as the strawberry cold foam and the red velvet cold foam, almond croissant, olive muffin, and guava empanadas, all in which I can say are delicious and very much worth trying. With such a wide variety of foods, drinks, and pastries to choose from there's no way you won't like something. The staff alone makes the experience all worth it, especially if you have a hard time ordering like I do!

This place is amazing and everyone here is so friendly. The food is delicious, I’ve gotten the breakfast burrito ( it’s pretty big and shareable) and I’ve gotten the Farmers breakfast here as well. For drinks the matcha, and their seasonal almond pride and joy is good. I highly recommend this place! Wish they had one in Downtown LA!

Greatness is in simplicity! Hesitated with their seasonal drink, the Habibi latte, a orange blossom water and cardamom espresso latte and their cappuccino. As this was the first time I wanted to be able to judge fairly. The cappuccino was great, one of the best I've had in a long time. The espresso flavors were in every sip! Well I can only concur with Infatuation, it's a beautiful setting to work or have a lunch, the light is beaming through and the tables and chairs are comfortable. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone!

Perfectly located at the center of the busy office areas and amidst multiple apartment buildings, Equator occupied a very ideal spot to attract the crowd. Being a first timer might make it bit tricky to find though as it's kinda invisible by the road side. They did provide very spacious sitting areas, accommodating the needs of the guests who might mostly be employees working nearby or students. The outdoor patio was an extra win for sure! If you planned to come later in the day, just be mindful that they might run out of most pastries already but worry not about the drinks. I was quite lucky getting the last pieces of their Pain Au Choc and Almond Financier, which were both decent, served warm as the barista offered to reheat them before serving :) Got their Iced Maple Walnut Latte and Hot Vanilla Latte. The prior was more unique as I couldn't recall having such flavor before and it turned out pretty nice especially for Maple syrup lover. My Vanilla Latte was enjoyable despite unfortunately more like room temp than hot.

City Bean Roasters (Retail Shop and Wholesale) is a unique craft coffee supplier that focuses on roasting single-origin estate beans and selling them directly to the public. Unlike many other high-volume roasters, City Bean does not have an attached coffee shop, preferring to keep a low profile as an anti-capitalist company with a profit-sharing model. They primarily focus on wholesale distribution to restaurants and shops while also offering their beans at competitive prices for walk-in customers.
Friendly service, COVID clean measures, great tasting coffee with more than enough varieties. They had a plentiful assortment from light to dark roasts, about 10+ roasts to choose from. Coffee goes for $10-12 per 12 oz bag. Just brewed this morning and wonderful artisanal taste. Greatly enjoyed the Ethiopian Sidamo I brewed this morning and it had flavors just like the label said. berry jam and sweet shortbread. Loving this spot.

Excellent teas and coffees! I’ve been coming here for years. Paying in cash there is ideal but they also take card no problem

Such excellent coffee beans!! And they’re always willing to help you out. Worth every penny.

Have subscribed to their monthly 3-bag coffee box for about two years now, always been happy with the roasts/beans. Also like stopping in the store from time to time to snag a special roast or when we run out. The Nighthawk Blend is an amazing dark roast and we've also been enjoying the lighter roasts too. The roast consistency from bag to bag is also quite strong, means minimal fiddling with grind settings to get good pour-over going each time we get a new batch. Strongly recommend!

Really great place to get fresh locally roasted coffee beans at an incredible price. I’ve been ordering more from local and California based roasters during covid while working from home, and City Bean beats everyone on price while maintaining high quality. The shop is just a small storefront and they make it easy to pick up a bag, pay via Venmo and be on your way. I’ve tried a few different varieties they have for medium and dark roasts and enjoyed them all. Will try their light roasts soon. They are also helpful when I have questions or need a recommendation. They also sell coffee maker accessories like Chemex filters. Haven’t bought those here yet but seems like a good place to stock up locally.
Roshan V — Google review
Really good quality coffee for the price. You can check their twitter to check which beans are for sale and the price for the day--it's usually between $10-12 for a 12 oz bag. Cash only. Easy to miss if you're driving by (it's not a cafe, they only sell beans) but well worth a stop.
Maria R — Google review
Amazing price to quality ratio! I’m really blown away. Their beans taste like something that would normally cost twice as much elsewhere. The light roasts here are great.
Rustin M — Google review
Cash only. No cold brew, even though it's advertised. Not a cafe storefront, this is a wholesale location. They only have medium roast single origins. Personally single origins roasted more than light loses natural flavor of bean, and is used to hide defects in lower quality coffee. Not saying they do since I haven't tried it, being cash only, but could be the case.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters has a prominent presence in the Arts District of Los Angeles, having established itself there in 2013. Originating from Portland, this chain is known for supplying coffee to various LA coffee shops. The shop features a large drum-type coffee bean roaster and offers freshly roasted coffee for sale. Customers can also find Slayer & La Marzocco machines and Malconig grinders at this location, making it a popular spot for coffee enthusiasts.
It's a copy brand that I personally enjoy drinking. It's a chain coffee shop headquartered in Portland, and I often buy coffee beans from Markets . There is also a large drum-type coffee bean roaster machine here, and it is a place that roasts and sells coffee. Slayer & La marzocco machine , Malconig grinders ,, I like to be in their coffee shop I am recommending this place,
Kai D — Google review
The service at Stumptown was extremely disappointing, as the barista couldn't seem to get my order right despite multiple attempts. I was even charged twice for the same incorrect order. When I brought up the issue, the response was dismissive and lacking any accountability. As someone who has enjoyed Stumptown coffee in the past, this was a major letdown. Luckily, I found a much better experience across the street at Verve Coffee Roasters. I would not recommend visiting Stumptown if you're looking for a positive coffee shop experience.

Hm… I wonder why it tasted different from the one in Art District. Different oat milk?

(Translated by Google) First of all, this coffee is from Portland, a very popular roasting coffee shop on the West Coast of the United States. It has many branches everywhere. Secondly, it is in the stylish hotel ACE, with black and white floor tiles and black design. It is said to be a place where fashionistas will come 😎 The coffee is good and the service is good. But the food is just average 😆 (Original)

Nestled in the heart of Studio City, Aroma Coffee & Tea Co. is a delightful haven for food lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike. This cozy café boasts an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a romantic hillside cottage, adorned with lush greenery, hardwood floors, and charming vintage decor. Guests can enjoy a diverse menu featuring breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, pastries, and an array of coffee options.
Great café in Studio City Fantastic atmosphere! Nice seating options both indoors and outdoors, and you can always find a spot. Friendly staff and really delicious food. I love coming here — whether for meetings or just on my own. The breakfast is excellent, and the pastries are amazing too. Every time I’m in town, I make sure to stop by.

Food was excellent we ordered the chipotle steak egg Benedict and chilaquiles. Service was great. The only issue we had was the way the manager or owner was talking to the employees. It was extremely rude and unprofessional. No please or thank you on her part and just the way she was talking to them. Other than that food was delicious and service was great.

What a hidden gem in the area, I love this place! I visited in June 2025 and can't wait to return. The atmosphere is so welcoming and cozy, with many different areas to sit. I enjoyed the outdoor patio area and inside in a nice comfortable chair. A perfect place to do homework, read, take a phone call, and enjoy your food! I really enjoyed my raspberry-strawberry-mango smoothie! The person who took my order was very nice and we talked for a few minutes, as I had mentioned I was from out of town. Very welcoming atmosphere, highly recommend!

One of my favorite cafes in LA/The Valley for relaxing or doing a bit of work with some coffee and yummy, fresh food! You place your order at the counter, where there's usually a line, but it's kept moving at a decent pace. The service here is always super cheerful and friendly! After placing your order, you find a table somewhere and they'll bring it out to you. My go-to's here when it comes to food are usually salmon dishes such as the Grilled Salmon Salad or Grilled Salmon Sandwich - both are delightfully fresh and have a generous mix of toppings and ingredients. I especially love the delicious sauce they put in the Grilled Salmon Sandwich!! My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it - YUM!! For seating, there's plenty of tables both in front, inside, and in courtyard like spaces on the sides and in the back. Wherever you sit, it's always a very lovely and relaxing vibe. Aroma Coffee & Tea is one of the best cafes in The Valley - I highly recommend!

Update 09-13-2025: absolutely love the pancakes and the cold brew. The environment was very pleasant. The weight was not very long. I think it’s a perfect way to start your day but I recommend getting here before 9 o’clock. You have so many seating options and it’s very easy to see why… The delicious coffee and the endless choices are reason number one… Reason number two: the incredible menu for food, breakfast or lunch… You couldn’t ask for more I have to tell you I’m addicted to their french fries Reason number three: the dessert options are insane. Make sure you give yourself more than enough room… Because you’re definitely going to be taking some of these home all the options are vegan and there are plenty of gluten-free options, but my favorite was the chip which cream moon pie cookies, sandwich… I swear to God, I can eat 15 of those Service is very quick and very friendly in each area of seating offers its own ambience. I sat out back because I am a loudmouth. But my friend enjoyed his iced coffee with vanilla sweetener, and I had two shots of espresso with the sugar in the raw… That is all I needed to enjoy my dessert in the environment One of the few places left in studio city, where even a person of humble means can have an incredible product and a wonderful experience at the same time !

Second time here, first time I had lunch. This time I tried the breakfast quesadilla with grilled chicken & spinach, guacamole and salsa garnish. Delicious! We also ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs, another winner! Both came with fresh fruit. Ordered the Berry ice tea and split a red velvet cheesecake bar. Service was prompt, tea refills and boxes to go. The atmosphere is so quaint and cute. Dine in front of the fireplace, on the front porch, back yard or out front. You decide. Order at counter when you enter and don’t pass the yummy desserts!

Alfred Coffee is a trendy and charming coffee shop that has become a beloved spot in Los Angeles. It was one of the first third-wave cafes to prioritize creating an Instagram-worthy experience for its customers. The Beverly Drive location, like other branches, offers aesthetically pleasing decor with vibrant floral ceiling paper, neon signage, tiled walls, hardwood floors, and exposed brick surfaces. This setting provides numerous photo opportunities for patrons.
Alfred Coffee near Melrose is pure magic in a cup. I stopped in for a lavender iced latte and a pastry, and both were absolutely delicious—just the kind of treat that makes a morning feel special. What really made the visit unforgettable, though, was Grace. She was so kind, patient, and genuinely helpful as I made my choices. Her warmth added a personal touch that made the whole experience even sweeter. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it—good coffee is great, but good people make it exceptional.

We stopped in for matcha and the cashier was so great at describing the strawberry and matcha latte options! We ordered the lavender matcha, strawberry matcha, and a coffee drink. All of them were outstanding!!! The lavender was so good that I bought a bottle of the syrup.

The food is great, especially the almond croissants, please make sure to try it. The service is top-notch, every single person behind the counter was friendly, helpful and kind in one way or another. The ambiance is great, there are two floors, and even an outside patio. The bottom floor is where the counter is, and where you put the order. Then after that, you can either sit in the big round table right in front of the counter, or go up the stairs to sit in another long rectangular table, or even go outside where two small round tables await you. The whole place also has nice decorations and the lighting is great too. 10/10 (bathrooms are also well-maintained as well, btw).

Sorry, but these prices have really gotten insane. $6 before tax for a tiny coffee? 8oz. That’s like 3 sips of coffee. And they charge extra for ICE? How much does that cost, .00008 cents? When did coffee shops start charging MORE for iced coffee? Absolutely diabolical. I know you have to pay the West Hollywood rent, but my god… it’s a very mediocre coffee and I walked out $9 later 😅😅😅 yikes. The staff was great, but for these prices, I won’t be back.

Alfred at the Melrose Farmers Market is such a fun spot! The staff are super friendly and really hustle, even when it gets crazy busy. On market days, be ready to wait about 20–25 minutes for your drink, but it’s totally worth it. Their iced vanilla latte is amazing, smooth, sweet, and just hits right every time.

As a US Veteran I can appreciate good service, coming to this location for over a year and have a great relationship with the staff, today Saturday 11th 2025 I was given the worst approach any customer can be given after given my drink made wrong. This is what’s missing from service to customer in some places, just decency, respect and a smile to redo an order is done wrong. I will encourage anyone who wants to be treated respectfully if their drink is done wrong to NOT come to this location. Again been a loyal customer for over a year and this is the first time I’ve dealt with this type of service from any barista. I hope management sees this review and takes action on the staff working on this date. I’ll continue to post on other sites and relate my experience today with other people in the area if nothing is done about this, just means they condone it.

Alfred Coffee in West Hollywood stands out not only for its chic and inviting ambiance but also for its diverse range of top-tier beverages. Their drinks menu, ranging from classic lattes to innovative seasonal specials, showcases their dedication to coffee craftsmanship. Each drink I’ve tried has been a harmonious blend of flavor and artistry, making it evident that they source only the best beans and ingredients. But what truly elevates the Alfred Coffee experience is their exceptional hospitality. The staff at this location go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed. Their knowledge about the menu, eagerness to offer recommendations, and warm interactions make every visit memorable. In a city bustling with coffee shops, Alfred Coffee’s combination of outstanding drinks and genuine hospitality sets them head and shoulders above the rest. If you’re in West Hollywood, don’t miss out on this delightful coffee haven!

Fantastic, incredibly delicious coffee!! My oat milk latte was so beautiful and had the most amazing flavor, very nutty and roasted. A place where people care about their craft - and it shows in the attention to detail. The Kyoto cold brew is incredible, and they even serve it in a pitcher with an icecube inside a hollow to keep the coffee cold without watering it down. I asked about the coffee’s story, and found out that managers Bobby and Carlos taste-tested grind settings to find the perfect combination. It’s expensive, but you pay for quality. Plus - for a place run by coffee nerds, the vibe is remarkably warm, homey, and unpretentious. Feels more like a small European cafe than most places I’ve found in California. Definitely recommend!
Dia S — Google review
We found this place by searching for a coffee shop while visiting Santa Monica Pier. It had good ratings so we decided this was the place to visit. When you walk in, there is a Kyoto iced coffee contraption which is dripping ice water one drop at a time to make the iced coffee. I didn’t try it, but I’d like to. The Cappuccino was great and very strong which is exactly how I like it. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and we sat outside. We had no complaints at all about this place and recommend it.

My husband and I were worried about stopping in because the cafe looked very busy. However, we were taken care of swiftly with all of our food and drink arriving around ten minutes or less after ordering. Definitely not a bad wait time for how busy they seemed to be. I got an almond macadamia milk cappuccino. I had to get decaf for health reasons, and the espresso tasted like it could have been tightened up a little bit, but decaf espresso can be hit or miss. The milk was excellent and the food was delicious. Waffle was light yet crispy and my breakfast sandwich was very flavorful. All of the employees we interacted with were so friendly and personable. Overall, we had a really great experience.

Had a great cup of cappuccino here. The espresso tasted well-extracted, the crema was nice, the milk was frothed nearly perfect, and the latte art had nice contrast. The drinks are a bit on the pricier side. I use my SquareCash (or CashApp) debit card, so I get $1 off every time, but I was slightly disappointed to see they dont have a rewards program. Also, the coffee equipments sold in the shop are extremely overpriced. They're selling a basic pour over for $50 and a kitchen scale for $100. Other than those minor things, it's a good coffee shop overall.

Bricks and Scones is a charming family-run coffee shop that offers a cozy and warm atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while indulging in pastries, breakfast, or lunch. The interior is eclectic with a majestic chandelier and a cozy upper floor level accessible via a wraparound staircase. The spacious outdoor seating area adds to its appeal.
Love ❤️ the seating choice - bright 🌞 patio street side or cool, dark interior - very cool 😎 place. We drove 4 hours to get there (in search of Ireland/UK quality scones) - which were, in my opinion, just OK 👍 with a vast variety of choices. Overall, a delightful experience 😊
Harold R — Google review
We came here for after trying to find a cute new coffee shop in the area. After seeing the positive reviews online, and pictures of how cozy and atmospheric the space was, I was excited to pop in and try it out. Unfortunately, atmosphere is all this place had. The food was expensive and frankly not good. We ordered a breakfast sandwich that was served to us on "sourdough" bread, which tasted and looked like white sandwich bread that's gone through a panini press. The eggs were boxed and unseasoned, there was one slice of undercooked bacon for an entire breakfast sandwich, and a side salad with a dressing that completely was out of left field and did not compliment the meal at all. Additionally, for a place that has "scone" in it's name, I was excited to try out some of the flavors they had. We ordered the green onion cheddar scone, and were unpleasantly surprised of how sugary a savory scone tasted. The caramel coffees served as well, were overly sugary and salty, so much so that we both threw them out without even finishing. This place was honestly such a disappointment. The food seemed cheap for a place that was so atmospheric and expensive. Don't waste your money coming here, there's a ton more options down the street that will give you a quality breakfast options or coffee.

Stopping by Bricks & Scones was the greatest way to start my week! First, they have endless seating options from the giant front partially shaded patio to the cafe, side patio, and upstairs seating! The staff was super friendly and helped me sort through their large menu. Coffee tea and sweet treats available in addition to sandwiches salads and soups. Highly recommend this Larchmont Gem ✨
Jillian L — Google review
First of all, they have a pretty big parking lots! Perfect for parking!! And there are many seats both indoors and outdoors. Good vibes. Good for remote work, study and reading books. If you look at the name here, you'll know, the scone is really good. And this chicken breast sandwich was good as well. I would recommend sourdough for bread! This sandwich is quite large so you can share it with two ppl.

pretty a-ok! grilled cheese was sub-par, but the cold brew was perfect. service could be a tad nicer. and the prices are really good for the area! i would stop in again if im around Larchmont for the patio alone- its really well sealed off from the street so it feels quiet and peaceful enough.

My friend found this place online and suggested that we have breakfast here. I got an iced americano and a breakfast bowl. Both were delicious! The breakfast bowl had the perfect amount of food for me to stay full until early dinner. The only downside was that it was definitely a challenge to find paid street parking as they don't have a parking lot. I had to make several u-turns just to find a spot.

I had a wonderful Wednesday! The coffee was so tasty- sea salt caramel latte! It’s little bit sweet at the bottom, make sure you mix them well! The Chicken sandwich was delicious too and a good portion:) We also had one matcha scone, fig scone and earl gray scone!!
Lailian P — Google review
The perfect European-themed cafe / study spot. I feel like a modern day Belle studying and eating at this cafe. The cafe has two stories. Both have ample seating. First floor’s temperature is a lot cooler and there’s a nice breeze (good for the summer heat). The second floor is more stuffy, but it is quieter and more individualized so you can focus on work. There’s plenty of NICE seating outside too, where you can work or chitchat. The menu is very diverse ranging from drinks to whole meals. I always get their bottomless iced tea which is around $7, and you can refill it however many times you please. I’ve had their earl grey scone (couldn’t taste much earl grey but you see the tea leaves in there) and matcha white chocolate scone with jam and butter - solid 3.5/5. I’d get it again because it’s simple and easy to eat. I also tried the breakfast quesadilla which was pretty good 4/5! For lunch later, I tried the chicken pesto sandwich was really delicious 4.8/5. Their side of salad is pretty yummy too. Their menu is very captivating, and I definitely want to come back to try more. Parking is street meter parking. Service is very friendly. Atmosphere is perfect.

This bustling neighborhood is known for its eclectic arts and culture scene and boasts fantastic food and drink options. ROW DTLA is often described as a city within a city, featuring specialty retailers and independent shops that cater to various tastes.
Great dining! Unique and sublime shops! A cute tree lined fun stroll. Parking in the structure is validated by some businesses. We visited Flask and Field for a free mezcal tasting which was amazing. The Rappahanock restaurant was amazing too! The shops are nice and exclusive. Great place for a date!

ROW DTLA is a landmark in downtown Los Angeles, transformed from the old American Apparel factory into a modern shopping and lifestyle destination while preserving its antique industrial charm. It’s a popular spot where you’ll often see people taking Instagram photos. There aren’t too many restaurants, but you can find boutique clothing and specialty shops, along with some very nice modern coffee spots. Parking is convenient with 2 hours free, making it easy to stop by and explore. A unique place to experience both LA’s history and its modern creative culture.

This review is for the Los Angeles Christmas Market at ROW DTLA. The market was clearly poorly organized and felt like a scam. The line to get in took over 30 minutes and some other later tonight were not let it because it was overcrowded even though advance ticket purchase was required. Half the vendor booths were empty or not working. It was such a miserable event and I left hungry and so disappointed.
Cassandra M — Google review
The ROW is great. Love Gladys Tamez’ hat shop, The Scent Bar, all the restaurants are excellent as is the coffee along with a bunch of other interesting shopping. Gated, secure, clean with plenty of parking. Best place to hang out and shop in DTLA. Highly recommended.

A fantastic place to check out - very interesting shops in a great ambiance. If you go, try out Pizza Bianco or Pane Bianco. As this is a selection of shops, I could not really generalize service and value, but the vibe is great. 2 hour free parking in their major parking lot. Would I do a 30-minute detour just to shop or at least window-shop here (mandatory in my rating scheme to achieve 5 stars)? I certainly would.

Known for its specialty coffee, the roastery offers a variety of single origin and blended coffees, with a seasonal contemporary menu featuring different brewing methods.
One of the few places with nitro cold brew I've found in Cali in a week. Real wait great service (Cameron was delightful, she took her time right at closing to show us the roastery and even let us sample a newly roasted variety). Great coffee, really great vibes, and really really great staff.

Super chill and relaxed atmosphere. The staff is very knowledgeable on their coffee and helped me with my indecisiveness. I got an Americano with cold foam and it was exactly what I wanted. Out of all the coffee shops in LB, I highly recommend this spot to visit if you're passionate about coffee. Even if you're not, it's still a great place to do some work or meet up.

Exactly what you would expect from a coffee roaster. Great cup of coffee, the food pairing was really good and the space itself its really chill. You get to see where they roast and their store is nice. In front there is a park where you can take a nice walk with or after your coffee. I would totally recommend it for coffee lovers.

I truly enjoyed their iced latte and chocolate cookie. They are “coffee specialist” and they really are. Their espresso was so smooth I think I found my new favorite roaster👍 I usually buy green beans and roast my coffee myself but this place is seriously awesome. I saw some people complaining about seating etc but this isn’t your typical coffee shop of “I’m here to study for whole day with a cup of coffee”. You go there and enjoy your coffee.

I have been a loyal patron for years dating back to when they opened in Newport Beach and it is no surprise to see this place gaining such a loyal following. The coffee was good and I particularly enjoyed the long black. The space is fantastic and lends itself to being able to enjoy your drink. Bravo Ed and team, wonderful job!

Dinosaur Coffee is a laid-back coffeehouse located in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. The owners, Ben and Michelle, have collaborated with designers to create a visually appealing space that is perfect for social media sharing. The interior features custom-made ceramic vessels by Professor Nobuhitu Nishigawara and unique design elements such as molded tiles by MASS Architecture and Design, woodwork by Ryan Upton, and a floral installation by Hello Gem.
Yo, just hit up Dinosaur Coffee on Sunset and had a solid experience. Ordered a flat white, and damn, that Woodcat Coffee bean they use hits different—smooth, rich, not too bitter. The barista was chill, hooked me up quick, and the vibe in there was on point. Place is packed with freelancers tapping away on laptops, but it’s not annoyingly loud. Got a seat by the window, soaked in that Silverlake energy. The caramel brownie was a nice touch, super gooey. Only gripe? Parking’s a nightmare, but that’s Sunset for ya. Def coming back for the coffee and that laid-back, artsy feel. 10/10 for a morning pick-me-up.

Visited on 7/23/23, so it’s a late review. It was fun exploring inside but the staffs weren’t friendly. We didn’t feel welcomed, so I don’t really remember a lot about this place. We stayed there for about maybe 5 minutes?

I didnt try the food there but the coffee was great 👌🏼 I was extremely impressed with the fact I didn't even know that they have a little extra outdoor patio in the rear. Street parking sucks so it's good to keep that in mind.

Really really good coffee, great vibes. Wasn't busy at all when i went. And the barista was incredibly friendly. Excellent coffee spot. I will definitely be back.
Isa J — Google review
My visit to Dinosaur was another example of the notion that every aspect of a cafe/restaurant experience can be great, but if the service is not good, it puts a damper on everything else. The barista that took my order seemed like he was over existence, exhibiting not even an ounce of warmth. Everyone has their days, so there’s no judgement, but having worked retail, you just need to pull through as best you can. Anyway, the espresso was decent, they were out of pastries so I couldn’t try any, and both the cup and saucer were chipped, so even the serving experience was lackluster. The space is nice, but it seems like a business that has lost its passion for the craft that it provides.
Felipe L — Google review
My best days start with Dinosaur. The crew is so nice and welcoming, the pastries are magnificent (try the devil food donut, you're welcome), and the coffee is top notch. Personally, I love the dirty almond chai, but do you! I feel so lucky this is part of the neighborhood, you will too.

I’ve gad their coffee before at grocery stores and it was nice to see an actual shop. I ordered their latte with almond milk along with a shot of espresso and a nitro cold brew to go. The latte was solid, flavor was excellent and temperature was just right. The cold brew was also great with a nice kick for caffeine. Parking was limited to the street but the interior was nice and big with lots of seating options.

This morning, we tried an unfamiliar Groundwork location in Downtown LA, as we usually prefer the Launchmount and Sunset spots. I typically don’t write reviews unless absolutely necessary, but I feel compelled to share my experience. We spent nearly $60 on our food, and my mom was with me. When I asked Ali for a side of aioli to accompany my burrito, I was told there would be an extra charge due to company policy. This response was not only rude but also completely unacceptable. I had already paid for my burrito, and there was no effort made to accommodate my request. I’ve visited many Groundwork locations and have never encountered this issue before. It seems that this location prioritizes profit over customer service. It's a matter of principle—kindness should not be disregarded. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this location.

Today my best friend, my partner and I decided to check this place out this morning. I ordered the vegan breakfast tacos and had their house mocha iced. The food was awesome and had a nice presentation. The vibe was laid back and the staff were very polite and helpful. The establishment is very inclusive and the food portions were good. All of the ingredients were visibly fresh and we all had a wonderful experience. I would have to say this establishment is underrated and more people should check it out.

My favourite coffee spot in the arts district. The service is unreal, even though they’re just behind the counter. Super warm and friendly, they know their customers and they remembered me after only a few days. Honestly made my trip to the states so much nicer to know I have somewhere to go in the mornings where they have such a welcoming atmosphere. They’re also open at 6am which is awesome, cause you can have a coffee before a run or whatever. Definitely get the pumpkin chocolate bread, that is unreal. And the horchata cold brew is crazy good. Thank you so much to the lady who knew I was heading back to Australia today, it honestly made my day!!

My friend wanted to come here to grab coffee. I never came here before and the previous time he always wanted to come here I always decline because I know there not a lot of parking spots. But today I took a chance and I was lucky to get a spot in the small plaza it's in. When we walked inside, they weren't as busy so we were able to order and get a table. My friend got his lavender drink, my wife wanted their green pomegranate and I went with their hot chocolate since I didn't like any other options. It didn't take long for our drinks to come out. My wife pomegranate she said needed more sweetener so I told her to go ask someone to see if they had any. They were able to add a little more sweetener which helped a lot. My friend enjoyed his lavender drink and I thought my hot chocolate was too watered down. The service we received here was amazing and they give me some water when I asked. The place isn't that big but it works for them and we saw many people come here just for their coffee.

We’ve been frequenting House Roots Coffee since their cart popup days at a Newhall restaurant. Since then, they’ve grown into hands down the best coffee in the SFV - a roaster & cafe in Granada Hills that embodies what a neighborhood coffee shop can and should be. The ambiance inviting, vibe is friendly, staff is top notch. Their coffee roasted well, and drinks are crafted with creativity & excellence. The selection of pastries is always great - tastes as good as it looks. House Roots offers a high quality craft coffee experience in an area dominated by bad chain coffee. Highly recommended for anyone in the area looking for a great local coffee house.

House Roots Coffee is my new favorite cafe in the valley!! i live in san fernando valley and this cafe has the best vibes, music taste, cutest decor, originality, hospitality, and actual good creamy espresso! their matcha is also so good because it’s not just sweetened green tea it’s actual ceremonial grade matcha!!
there’s never really a wait time! each time i’ve been here it usually only takes 5mins or less :)
they play very chill indie/alternative music and sometimes some soft k-indie music
the music vibe of a cafe usually determines the atmosphere for me
i go here with my laptop to get “adulting” stuff done like pay bills or apply to jobs/gigs etc. and ive noticed all the people who work or are customers are chill and kind hearted
as there’s been LA fires “house roots coffee” was one of the first companies i saw that were supporting all the first responders by telling firefighters they are welcome to their cafe without a fee and sharing information on where you can donate or volunteer to help! love that!
also they use dishes and silverware when you dine inside which i support so much since this helps minimize the amount of plastics and trash being used
honestly i’d love to work here if they ever were looking for a barista, cashier, or even a content creator i just love being there the energy is recharging

Autumn spice latte (hot) with a Lemon pastry. The latte was good but it was way too sweet for me, should have gotten half the sweetener. The lemon pastry was pretty amazing, never had anything like it, it was like eating lemon flavored rice pudding? kind of just melted on your tongue. I also tried their lavender latte and it was very tasty! It's a cute little place in a plaza with some parking in the plaza. Sraff was friendly, nut the energy was off & unfortunately the prices a bit too high for the portions, I think.

COFAX -Fairfax- is a casual coffeehouse with a baseball theme that has been drawing breakfast burrito enthusiasts since its establishment in 2014. The menu features six variations of breakfast burritos, including options with chorizo and crushed tortilla chips, bacon and Tater Tots with pickled jalapenos, and a meat-free option filled with smoked vegetable hash and pico de gallo.
Cofax is easily one of my favorite spots in LA. I’m absolutely obsessed with their bacon breakfast burrito — it’s perfect every single time. Paired with an Americano, it’s my go-to morning ritual. The vibe inside the shop is something special: warm, authentic, and full of character. It just feels good to be there. You can tell there’s love and intention behind everything — from the food to the music to the design. Huge thanks to the people who created this place — you’ve built more than just a café. You’ve built a space that feels like home. 🙏

*The burritos will make it worth it* This place popped up on my best breakfast burritos list. I will say this the pastrami burrito is worth every dollar that they ask for. Also I was going to leave them a one star. The service here was terrible and the staff were not polite to me. Although while I was there, I saw a homeless guy come in and they gave him a free burrito and drink. That made me feel better about this place. So I couldn’t leave a one star review. This place also gets really crowded but not in a bad way. They move as quickly as possible and they are friendly to the regulars. If you want a great burrito this place is worth a try.

If your a Sydney Koufax fan or not this Cafe pays homage to the Dodger greats like Tommy Lasorda, Vince Scully, and the many star players of LA fame. This was my first time and its hit spot with 20-30 females, and a great place for dog owners to bring their dogs inside to rest from the Fairfax Ave streets. I had the Hibiscus Tea with the Veggie Breakfast burrito that was cheesy delicious it just needs slightly hotter salsa or a chulula. My wife and her girlfriend had the bacon breakfast with a very sweet vanilla latte to wash it down. I'd definitely go here again if I was visiting Fairfax village. Love the LA vibe.

Cofax is my favorite coffee spot in California! Amazing atmosphere, delicious burritos, great coffee, and the friendliest staff. Always a perfect start to the day!
Marat S — Google review
Absolutely flawless experience at COFAX on Fairfax Ave across from Canter’s Deli in LA’s historic Fairfax district. Upon walking in you’re greeted by a very professional and courteous staff, if they were owners I wouldn’t be surprised, they cared about my enjoyment of my Chorizo breakfast burrito which was graciously recommended to me upon my request for a rec. What makes the experience a truly special one isn’t the perfectly seasoned and cooked chorizo/eggs/potatoes, no, it’s the house smoked/made tomatillo and roja salsas. Absolute perfection added to every bite, I’m a bit of an animal and after having one bite with each alone I had to combine them to make the most perfect bite of fresh, bright acidity, meets smoky, robust pepper on a burrito that’s BIG (filled a big 250 lb guy). They provide one of each salsa with a purchase of a burrito, if you want more they’re $.50 a piece and I didn’t need extra but I used every last drop so if you’re saucy you may want to splurge for two extra salsas for a buck! The coffee was worth a trip alone, but the combination of a perfect breakfast burrito and iced latte has made a new regular customer out of me. If you’re ever by The Grove or Farmers Market and actually want something worth your money ($21 and change) head up the street 5 minutes to Cofax!! No cash accepted!! Sorry no pics I was breaking a fast and went a little ravenous when the burrito was handed to me lol!! Thanks again COFAX!!

Staff are friendly, great vibe. However, these last 2 times I ordered the same draft latte and for whatever the reason, the barista filled my cup with just pure foam....the texture is not what it supposed to be and it tastes awful that way. So I had to wait until it bubbled down, and the portion literally reduced down to half of it. Not try to be petty but come on, things aren't cheap nowadays but at least give us the amount caffeine rush we paid for. I've been ordered the same draft latte several times before and they were never like this. Whichever staff from this location saw this, please make some changes on this.

La Colombe Silver Lake always seems to have a chill crowd sipping their coffee in the roofed front patio, working on their computer, chatting, or just people watching. It definitely has a nice vibe. I stopped by one morning and got a cappuccino, coffee was good and service was fine.
Yü W — Google review
There's no shortage of amazing coffee in Silver Lake. Moreover, there's no shortage of nationally recognized amazing coffee within two blocks of Sunset Junction. I'll be honest ... I love the usual players in the high-quality, local caffeine game - and go there regularly too - but when I want to stop and just have a great cup of coffee without too much pretension or pomp, this La Colombe is my stop. Yes, it's a chain. No, the coffee doesn't taste like it is. That's not to say it's the greatest coffee ever, but it holds its own in that category. The draft coffees are highly drinkable and refreshing on a hot Los Angeles day. The espresso is sharp and just the right amount of butter if you want a warm smack of caffeine. The nibbles are worth looking at as well. Sweet or savory there's something here for you. I'd recommend the bacon and chive scone. Seating ... sit outside! Out front you can watch the world go by. Excellent people watching. In the back - up the hill - is another covered area that seems to attract the laptop crowd a bit more. There are seats inside, but they aren't the most comfortable for long stays. This should be one of your coffee stops in Silver Lake for sure.

Very happy my husband and I can here. We have always loved their product at home but trying it at a storefront was so much better. Love the fact that it is a socially conscious company. Baristas are knowledgeable and friendly, making the experience even better. The casual and sleek atmosphere was nice not pretentious Great job.

Eightfold Coffee is a popular spot known for its minimalist, industrial-chic ambiance and strong coffee. Despite its unassuming exterior, the cafe has garnered a dedicated following. The interior is simple yet welcoming, with small tables and ample outlets. Natural light fills the space, creating a relaxed atmosphere perfect for savoring their specialty coffees and pastries.
First time here, Saturday morning and parking was so easy. Walked right in, no wait, so much beautiful natural light if you need a place to sit and work or just hang out. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was very clean. Didn’t order food but oh man the avocado toast looked absolutely amazing! I’d go back just to try that! And my lavender latte was amazing! They also put my boyfriend’s coffee in his personal cup which was awesome and saves some waste! I’d give another star just for that! lol. Highly recommend and will return.

Great coffee shop for studying, working, and chatting with friends. I like their hojicha latte and chai latte. You can’t go wrong with their pastries!! By far, my favorites are spinach one and mushroom one.

Happily surprised at the taste of coffee. But as I’ve been told, echo park has good coffee and that is as not a lie. I got a good ole cold brew and when I say I was HAPPILY SURPRISED, I promise I indeed was. The first sip had me like 😍 Ended up texting my partner a picture of the menu and he instantly told me to bring him home a coffee 🤣 The staff/baristas are nice and welcoming here too!!

Cute space and had seating to do work. Purchased a Spanish Latte and Hot Green Tea, both were delicious ($12.60). Parking was on the street, not sure if there was parking elsewhere.

Beautiful spot! Perfect, high quality drinks and they serve in real glass if you order "for here" which is a bonus. It's a great spot for a treat and a slow morning.
Josephine U — Google review
This cafe might seem a little out of the way for most Echo Park roamers, but that’s a plus in my book. It’s not overly crowded and pretty spacious on the inside. Well lit with the tall glass windows and a variety of seating to fit everyone’s needs. If there is any downside it’s that the menu isn’t as diverse as other cafes. This isn’t such a bad thing since they do a solid job with the staple drinks, and they offer a pretty robust list of teas as well. Something many other cafes can’t boast. For a regular and local to the cafe, that’s exactly what you want. For anyone who is just exploring the neighborhood, you’re better suited going further west on Sunset though. It’s also a bit cluttered in the back making it hard to sit at the communal tables if someone is blocking one side of it already. And it’s not as well lit back there either but that’s a given since you’re pretty far back from the windows. Overall a decent cafe at the edge of the hood that’s worth a stop at.
Avedon A — Google review
Eightfold's Echo Park location is effortlessly elegant, and illuminous with morning lights. There are wooden benches and small tables along the walls, the rest—a great amount of space—is generously left empty. The space feels like a warehouse art gallery. My first drink at Eightfold was an excellent cortado, bright, balanced, and beautiful. During my following visits I had the Eightfold Cold Brew and Golden Latte. I enjoyed them both, especially the tumeric latte. I thought it would be a regular latte with tumeric powder like a cinnamon latte, but it's not espresso based and I still liked it. All this said, the services I received have been consistently distant, not rude, just distant, unenthusiastic. The baristas are much more lighthearted with the regulars, which makes me feel like an outsider.

Iced Vanilla latte was good, the place is very spacious. The parking was little tricky, but I would like to come back for a little study or work again.

Black Elephant Coffee is a café with great coffee and delicious food. The workers are always friendly and helpful, no matter how busy the place gets. There is always something to eat, making it a great choice for breakfast or lunch. The coffee is perfect, with both strong and smooth flavours.
This coffee shop is so cute! I loved that it had quite a lot of seating options too! I ordered a Mexican Mocha and a berry muffin (I forgot to take a picture of the muffin). Both were absolutely delicious and satisfied my sweets craving. The prices were also reasonable. I definitely recommend stopping by here for a coffee break. A plus: the bathroom was really clean.

Sage cheddar croissant on the right was nice. Chocolate croissant on the left was ok. Coffee was good. Overall, I enjoyed coffee here but not much for pastries.

Came in here to get some coffee, but their pastry pulled me in. Not only did they have sweet ones, but they also had a savory. The one I got was almost like a mini pizza. I need to come back and try out more things. They have plenty of seating, inside and out.

I think I just paid $10 for the worst Matcha latte in Los Angeles. Threw away my drink after one sip. Color was not ceremonial grade as the menu price. I’m soooo disappointed in this matcha and feel like I just threw away my money.

01/22/23 - My first time here. My latte was delicious. I will be back. 06/06/25 - This coffee shop is now apart of my weekend bike ride. I've been back maybe 20+ times. I recommend the lavender latte, it's really yummy.

Wine bar
Little Ripper LA is a charming bungalow cafe in Glassell Park that transforms into a natural wine bar at night. The cozy spot offers predominantly Californian and Australian wines by the glass, with a knowledgeable staff creating a bubbly atmosphere while pouring tastes of unique bottles. On Wednesday nights, they offer a wine flight of their four favorites for $20.
UPDATE: Came back for brunch and it was easily one of the best brunches I have had in a while. I got a standard breakfast plate and my wife got the Peachy Keen. Both were fantastic!! We also both gor the Little Ripper with lavender and were very happy with that choice! All the dishes here are very unique and there is nothing that should be considered “normal fare”. That said, it was all fantastic. We had the springy tomatoes (great), tuna crudo (great), moorish meatballs (that sauce!!!) and the meat and veggies. Everything tasted great and was very unique. In my picture of the meatballs, I remembered to take a pic after two were already eaten. Now, I had to remember to rate this place based on the FOOD, the SERVICE, and the ATMOSPEHERE, not the experience I had. I bought two kids, the youngest of which is 3. Despite Google having said they have a kids menu here, they do not. We could not get our kids to eat the meatballs, which were the most normal items on the menu. If you have a kid that eats everything, youll be fine here, but if your kid is EVER picky, I would avoid dinner here (breakfast menu would likely be fine). The kids made it rough, but the actual restaurant was great.

Lox toast and tangerine cronut were both amazing. The cronut especially - so soft and light in the inside with such good flavor in the tangerine glaze. Toast had a good protein of lox and all the flavors hit well together. Cute little cafe - nice outdoor patio as well as indoor seating available. Even on a busier Saturday morning, food still came out pretty quick.

Came here for brunch with some friends on a Saturday around 11am. The space had a cozy vibe inside, and the patio offered plenty of seating with a dog-friendly atmosphere. You order at the counter, and the staff brings your food and drinks right to your table. It did take a while for the food to come out, but we were enjoying the company, so it wasn’t a huge deal. While the prices felt a bit on the higher side, the overall experience was pleasant. My breakfast sandwich was tasty, though I would’ve loved a side to go with it. Still, it was a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy a slow weekend morning.

Beautiful little place that felt like being in someone's very well decorated home. We stopped here after a wedding for a snack and a drink and had a great time. It is a little bit pricey but honestly worth it. If you are in the area, give it a shot :)

UPDATED 1/16/2024 Having gone back after its renovation I really love the look and aesthetic of the cafe. It’s cozy and well thought out. The design is great. Love the stools and wall trim. Nice to go fridges at the end of the long communal table and plenty of seating both inside and out in the patio. Still not that impressed with the coffee. The Little Ripper this time around tasted better than previously but lacked much flavor. I chose lavender again but barely there. Also got an ice lavender latte which did have a bit more lavender but it just did not taste all that good. Also tried some light bites. Sourdough toast with house made blueberry jam was delicious though I think a bit pricey for what it is. But it’s even more evident with the Fairy Bread. It’s a single slice of white bread with no crust and some butter and sprinkles. That’s it. I like that it seems like it’s a cultural treat, reminiscent of one’s childhood. But really made for the kids and charging $5 for it seemed too funny. Overall as much as I love the look and feel the coffee just hasn’t done much to get me to return for a third time. ————————————————————— Original 2023 Review Small little spot outside of the usual busy areas which is nice. But there’s no inside seating yet and just a few tables outside with a covered area that didn’t seem to be in use by most people for some reason. Was disappointed in their signature latte the Little Ripper. Tasted incredibly watered down I thought I was drinking tea. Would love to try again with one of the other options like the New Orleans chicory base one. But I was let down by this one so it’ll be a while before I head that way again.
Avedon A — Google review
The breakfast plate is the best brunch I’ve had in LA. Perfectly made eggs, fresh salad, delicious tomatoes, toast, and bacon. A little pricey but worth it. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Would recommend! Coffee is good too.

Vibes - immaculate. Coffee - Excellent. $10 for a single slice of Bub’s toast with butter and jam feels WILD even in this economy, but the cheese and tomato toastie more than made up for that. Love this little gem of a cafe.

Aquarela Coffee, located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, is a farm-to-table cafe with Brazilian roots. The cafe, which opened as SPLA Coffee in September 2018 and was rebranded as Aquarela in February 2021, offers a rustic and industrial ambiance inspired by the streets of Sao Paulo. Situated inside the lobby of The CalEdison building, this cozy spot provides a beautiful and peaceful seating area where visitors can enjoy smooth coffee and savory pastries.
Coffee, Service, and Pastry was top notch. Super friendly service with a smile. My Latte was excellent and so flavorful. The chocolate cake slice was so moist and rich without being overbearing. The building is also very beautiful. I had no problem sitting and admiring the ceiling while I enjoyed my coffee and pastry. Would recommend!

Holy Great Gatsby 😍 this building is insanely beautiful and an art deco treasure. Love the other Aquarela location so I was hype to see an Aquarela so close! Plenty of space to work or chill. The barista was so kind and personable and the Saude latte is always gon buss! If you are downtown it is def worth swinging by 💜😍

We had two coffees - both Brazilian specialty drinks. One with a subtle orange flavor and one with mild spices. Both were exceptional in their lack of bitterness their adult-level of sweetness. The less bitter the less sweeteners are required to mask it. These espresso drinks had just a hint of sweetness - perfect for grownups. They blend the flavors carefully with world-class results. I’ve had more flavorful cheese bread but theirs is good. The chicken croquettes were good, too. The atmosphere - visually spectacular but unpleasantly noisy. Seats tables are too small. Parking is difficult and very expensive if you don’t have a Los Angeles Library card. Highly recommended for superb coffee.

Wow, I feel lovestruck from this experience haha I don’t say this lightly: this may be my new favorite coffee shop. The baristas were incredibly warm and friendly. Cognoscenti Coffee Roasters is conveniently located with ample street parking and close to Santee Alley. Their coffee menu offers a variety of options, although some find the iced latte too milky, but appreciate that the drinks are not overly sweet. The peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies are highly recommended. The outdoor seating area provides plenty of shaded space for customers to enjoy their drinks.
SPANISH TORTILLA!!!! It’s soooo good 🤤 I came across this coffee shop, working across the street window tinting and WOW I’m completely shocked by the amazing flavors in their food. We got the açaí with strawberry and granola, the Spanish tortillas and a bread thing. All soo good I ordered one to take home. Went to complement the food and then the owner gave us a cookie to try and it was delicious! Great experience

Had a coffee hangout with my friend whose daily coffee spot is Cognoscenti. I wasn’t having high expectations to be honest. So I ordered for a cappuccino and boy, I was pleasantly surprised. 💯 recommended. Heard their coffee too is really good. So if you are in the neighborhood, stop by!

Saw this cafe across Creature Comforts brewery in a little business park on Olive st downtown. The space isn’t much to look at, and it was rather warm inside making it uncomfortable. There is more seating outside but it was a hot day so we chose the lesser of two evils and stayed in. Tried their signature Latte Noir which I found to be just meh. Even with the extra shots of espresso I didn’t find it to be too strong but also nothing stood out about it considering the other ingredients they added. We got a matcha and a cookie. The cookie was good the matcha like any other. Overall, serviceable for those living or working downtown, though plenty of other spots I would choose first. But they do have a secure courtyard area to work in which is nice.

Found this spot while looking for LowKey burrito. Love the aesthetics of the shop and their menu looks very tasty. The coffee was amazing as well however I gave a 3 star for lack of customer service. The shop was not busy at all and I told the young lady it was my first time hoping she can kinda give me a run down of what they have and all i got was has pointing to the menu. Not very friendly.

I couldn't imagine what a coffee shop would look like in this part of the Fashion District, and I was happily surprised to find out the cafe in a plaza that almost feels like an oasis, shared with a few other restaurants. There was plenty of street parking around and just a few blocks away from Santee Alley. They had a solid coffee menu, but I feel like their iced latte was too milky. Despite the lack of a menu, patrons can choose from options like pour-over, espresso, matcha, whole milk, or almond milk drinks.
This has changed coffee shops for me, great coffee made in a unique way, great music and good conversation! No laptops here, just go, chill and enjoy a new coffee experience! Giorgia and Christopher are awesome too, check it out Friday - Sunday, 8:30-ish to 4:30-ish 👌🏽

Super cool and minimal place. There is no menu, you just tell your barista if you would like something hot or cold, with or without milk and that's it! Everything is $5 except for the espresso. The coffee itself was perfection. Make sure to get the drinks "for here" because they get served in beautiful ceramics that were custom made. We did not get the matcha, but they do offer it as an option. The owners were there the time we went and they were delightful! I would come back again now that I know how to find it. There is no obvious sign outside, look for the tattoo parlor and it will be next door.

Such a corky and hip place! There is no menu but here are some options you can get: pour-over/espresso/matcha/whole milk/almond milk drink. You get to be asked a few question: coffee or tea/iced or hot/milk or no milk/// dairy or almond/sweet or unsweet Don’t be fooled by the sign that they are closed on every single day- they open 9-5 mostly. The barista was very friendly and relaxed. Coffee flavour wise, there are more coffee shops. Having said that, the whole experience is a must 😃

This coffee shop looks like an architect's dream, smells like Palo Santo, and sounds like a nightclub. All of that is great, but is blown away by the amazing flavors and aromas of the coffees and teas served here.

Exceptional! This cafe made my Sunday morning. The space is amazing, the coffee blew my mind and the service was very friendly. We weren't sure what we wanted so Natalie (I hope that was her name because she was amazing) whipped us up something memorable to say the least. We sat and chatted with er a while about life in LA and so forth, which really set the tone for our final day in DTLA. Exceptional in every day. Do yourself a favour and visit GiorgiPorgi Immediately!

This place gets 4 stars for bravado. No sign outside just black with a white umbrella, a dark very narrow space inside just wider than the space between two buildings, a very cool and dark interior with curvy white neon tubes spanning the ceiling, a low slung deep red and stainless expresso machine on the bar - name started with "Lav..." and a sweet young thing inside who greeted me with "I'm the only employee". I didn't order anything, had to see what this was. I'll be back when I'm ready for the full experience.
Ken M — Google review
Go for the coffee, stay for the show. This shop is one of the most unique cafes I’ve seen on the entire planet. The owner is funny, exciting, charismatic, and ... uhh... Unique. Honestly. I’ve been at the cafe and she’ll just close it and we’ll chill next door. Or some random person will walk in and she’ll give out some good Karma. I’ve never been bored here. It’s not a spot to take out your computer and write a screen play. It’s a place to enjoy the master at work, like sitting at the sushi bar. Good luck planning your visit though. She opens when she feels like it from what I can gather. If you’ve done all the posh spots, and you’ve done all the trendy hype, and you’re kinda over it, come here and she’ll make you feel cooler by being in the shop. It’s like contact cool.
Phil C — Google review
A star for the music and for the cool atmosphere. I'm sure others have had a better experience here but our experience was so bad that we tried to give it another shot, but turned around when we saw the same guy in there. Maybe we weren't cool enough to be in there. But when someone orders a pour over coffee (while sitting right in front of the pour over station) and is offered a drip instead ("it's the same anyway"), while everyone else is getting attentive service... you should have just asked me to leave when I walked in. I should take those 2 stars away but I'm not an a*hole. Guess that's why I don't feel welcome here.
