Observatories & Planetariums
Perched atop Mount Hollywood, Griffith Observatory is a stunning art deco landmark dating back to 1935. It offers breathtaking city views and is a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The observatory boasts a high-tech planetarium and provides public telescopes for stargazing. It's also famous for its appearance in the award-winning film La La Land. Additionally, visitors can enjoy hiking trails leading to the observatory, with opportunities to witness panoramic vistas of downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
Wow, this place is a must-visit! The views across LA are spectacular, and the inside is packed with fascinating information about the planets. We arrived early afternoon and found the place to be quite busy, but it was still spacious enough to feel comfortable. We opted for the bus up, as it was the most convenient and free option. You can also walk up if you prefer. One of the highlights of the observatory is the breathtaking view of the Hollywood sign. You could easily spend a day or afternoon exploring the exhibits and learning about the cosmos. My favourite part was seeing an actual piece of moon rock!
Bob G — Google review
The view was beautiful from the roof of the observatory. You can see the whole city of Los Angeles as well as the Hollywood sign on the mountain. There is a telescope structure that you can carry in with no charge. You can see the telescope inside, and the roof of that telescope structure can spin, so the telescope goes through the whole roof, which is really cool. I would suggest walking around the rooftop and having a good look at that mountain and also the city from above. The weather is good. You can also see the downtown Los Angeles from far away. Transportation is simple. You can either drive there and pay $10 for car parking, or take a bus.
Nan L — Google review
It was amazing place for adults and children. And free!!! You will see very much model sytem related with universe such as seasons, solar sytem order and their speed… Btw you can see a real telescope at the roof but you will probably wait al least 20-30 min. And of the story you can see amazing LA view at night. Some exhibits need extra payment but most of the area visiting is free. You give at least half day for this place.
Rana B — Google review
I visited the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, and it was an incredible experience! The view from the terrace is absolutely stunning — you can see the entire city skyline, the Hollywood Sign, and on a clear night, a sky full of stars. Inside, the giant pendulum is mesmerizing to watch as it marks the Earth’s rotation, and the telescopes are a real highlight — especially the public telescope on the rooftop, where you can see the moon and planets up close. The exhibits are fascinating, the atmosphere is inspiring, and the sunset view is unforgettable. A must-visit landmark for anyone exploring LA!
Dr.Bhargava B — Google review
I didn’t go inside, as I was on a small group tour and we only stopped for about half an hour. I walked around the exterior and used the restroom. Time is very tight, so I would recommend at least 30 minutes to an hour. If you plan to go inside, tickets are required and you should allow considerably more time. The views outside are beautiful and relaxing, with a clear sight of the Hollywood sign. However, the public restrooms nearby are limited and somewhat dirty. Parking is limited: the spots inside are few and likely expensive, while parking outside is not cheap either. Walking up from outside parking can also take a significant amount of time. If you are on a tight schedule, this location might not be ideal.
Mark — Google review
I photographed an engagement session here last weekend and it reminded me why Griffith Observatory is such a dream for portraits. The Art Deco architecture, sweeping city and mountain views, and clean lines give you everything—from elegant editorial frames to candid, romantic moments—often within a few steps of each other. We worked along the terraces, the colonnade, and the front steps to create a mix of wide landscapes and intimate close-ups. With some thoughtful timing and positioning, we kept backgrounds clean and distraction-free—every frame feels classic LA. I delivered the couple’s gallery the very next day, and the images look like they were taken on a private set. Practical notes: plan a little buffer for parking and walking between spots, and always respect any posted guidelines. If you’re considering engagement photos here, there are a few simple strategies that make a huge difference in getting that “no-crowd” look—happy to share what works. Attaching a handful of favorites from the session so you can see the variety this location offers!

After living in LA for 9+ years I've finally decided to go inside this building. I had always view this place as a tourist trap; was I right? Yes. But it has its charms. The view of La is amazing. This place is filled with international tourists. The line to the main telescope is very long and may or may not worth the wait. The parking situation during peak is incredibly bad. Highly recommend to park below and hike up if you don't mind a bit exercise. Great place to take a date.
Wa W — Google review
Wow... I don't know if there's even a better view over LA, but I don't need any other than this. Neat looking building, spectacular views, and very cool public accessible telescope in the left dome. Good view on the city, the Hollywood sign, and the surrounding area. Visited during daytime, but I can only imagine the sights at night through the telescopes. Parking is a hassle, but maybe we did it wrong. Popular tourist attraction, so be prepared for a crowd.

Santa Monica Pier is a must-visit destination in Los Angeles, offering a variety of shops, cafes, an amusement park, and an aquarium. While there's a fee for the famous Ferris wheel and other attractions at Pacific Park, simply strolling along the pier is free and highly recommended. It's an iconic spot that shouldn't be missed, especially since it's close to downtown Santa Monica and Venice Beach Boardwalk.
The Santa Monica Pier is an absolute must-visit! Such a fun mix of ocean views, entertainment, and that iconic California vibe. The Ferris wheel was the highlight—so much fun and the views from the top are just stunning, especially around sunset. 🎡🌅 Tip for visitors: definitely park in the big parking area directly at the beach. It’s super convenient and much more reasonable than the overpriced hotel parking options nearby. From there, it’s just a short walk to the pier. A perfect spot to enjoy the ocean breeze, grab a bite, and soak up the atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Da D — Google review
We can say we walked the pier. It was a bit busy and there were people fishing. Enjoyed seeing the sights looking out from the end of the pier. We didn't go to the amusement park but the kids would really enjoy it i'm sure. Lots of places to eat and drink there.
END A — Google review
The Santa Monica Pier is such an active and lively place — there’s always something going on! You’ll see people preaching the gospel, families grabbing food, crowds waiting in line for rides, and vendors selling everything from snacks to souvenirs. Toward the back of the pier, there’s even a store offering discounted Santa Monica merchandise, plus a restaurant that’s relatively affordable compared to other beachside spots. Before you even enter the pier, you’ll notice a cool boat and dragon display. When you step onto the boat and pedal, it makes mist come out of the dragon’s nose — super neat and a fun surprise for kids and adults alike! One thing to keep in mind: there are no foot-washing stations nearby. So if you spend time in the sand, just know your feet might stay sandy for a while. There’s also a workout area if you want to burn some energy or just enjoy the fun beach fitness vibes. Overall, this is definitely a full-day experience and a great spot for family fun. Lots to see, lots to do, and a classic California adventure! 🌊🎡🌴
Stephanie D — Google review
The Heart of the California Coast! 🌴🎡🌊 Santa Monica Pier is one of those places that just never gets old. Every time I visit, it feels like a mini vacation the ocean breeze, the views, the lights, the music… everything about it gives that perfect California energy. The pier is beautifully maintained and super easy to get around. You can find everything right in one spot fun rides 🎢, games, great food, and of course, that breathtaking ocean view. The sunsets here are unreal watching the sky light up over the Pacific is something everyone should experience at least once. 🌅 What really stands out, though, is how welcoming the atmosphere is. The staff at the restaurants, shops, and attractions are always friendly and patient, even when it’s packed. You can tell the management keeps things running smoothly because the whole area feels organized and clean despite the constant crowd. There’s also something for everyone families, couples, solo travelers, or friends just hanging out. Whether you’re taking photos, grabbing funnel cake, riding the Ferris wheel, or just sitting by the water, it’s pure good vibes all around. Santa Monica Pier isn’t just a tourist stop it’s a full experience. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel happy and relaxed no matter how many times you’ve been. 🌊💙 Definitely a must visit when you’re in Los Angeles the energy here is unmatched! The Santa Monica Pier is one of Southern California’s most iconic coastal landmarks, offering a perfect blend of seaside fun, entertainment, and history. Extending into the Pacific Ocean at the end of Colorado Avenue, the pier features a lively amusement park with its famous solar-powered Ferris wheel, roller coaster, arcade, and classic carnival games. Visitors can enjoy oceanfront dining, street performances, and breathtaking sunset views over the water. Originally built in 1909, the pier has become a symbol of the laid-back California lifestyle and a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike. With its vibrant atmosphere, ocean breezes, and timeless charm, the Santa Monica Pier captures the spirit of the Pacific coast.
Gnl M — Google review
Nice to walk around and lots of people from all backgrounds. We were entertained and were able to take lots of photos. Having Pacific Park in the pier was cool. We went there with an 8month old baby and found it a bit hard to navigate as pier itself is not pram-friendly and couldnt find any family rooms. If there were, I wish there was signage.
Joseph A — Google review
An unforgettable family experience! We spent the evening at Santa Monica Pier with our kids, and it was just magical. The sunset over the ocean, the sound of the waves, the vibrant atmosphere — everything felt like a dream. The beach was full of life, people laughing, relaxing, and enjoying the moment. We had a quick snack, took beautiful pictures, and just enjoyed being together as a family. The ocean breeze and view from the pier were especially refreshing. Highly recommend visiting with kids — it’s a perfect place to make memories.
Yerzhan G — Google review
Visited during a 10 hr layover at LAX. It was okay. VERY touristy. Quite a number of shady people around. Not a super clean area. The number of repeat street vendors was unbelievable. The pier itself is historic and neat to visit once. Everything was pricey as expected. Pretty view. It’s not a place that I’d go back to again, however.

The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens is a sprawling complex in San Marino, California that encompasses art galleries with renowned works, rare-book collections, and extensive gardens. Visitors can explore 120 acres of botanical landscapes and delve into the library's collection of rare books while enjoying the diverse bird population. The site offers a captivating blend of beauty and literary treasures, providing insights into 18th-century European art and 17th-century American art through various exhibits and collections.
Absolutely breathtaking. Immaculately maintained gardens and facilities. So many diverse settings all in one place! We did Japanese, Chinese and Desert gardens (and bonsai collection) and also had a bit of time at the mansion/art museum. Will need to come back another time to see the rest, in particular the rose gardens, which I hear are best in March through November. Overall, the best botanical garden(s) experience I have had. (and, at first, I did balk at the $29 ticket price, but after visiting, feel it is well worth it.). Amazing space.
Tim L — Google review
I’ve been here several times. Although it’s called a library, it actually feels more like a botanical garden — the area is huge. If you really enjoy wandering slowly and taking your time, you can easily spend the whole day here. I recommend reserving their afternoon tea; the atmosphere of sitting by the rose garden, sipping tea, and chatting is perfect for family gatherings, friends, or bringing kids along. My favorite part is the Chinese Garden — it’s incredibly similar to those in Suzhou, and it also reminds me a lot of Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai. Currently, the ticket price is about $29 on weekdays and $34 on weekends, which is a bit pricey, but they do offer one free admission day every month.
YUMI Y — Google review
It never gets boring. No matter which time of the year, the garden has a priceless beauty. I personally like the wilder areas more than the highly architectural ones. Alltogether, this is always a nice showcase to take out-of-town guests, who typically as a little plus indulge in the store at the end of the day. PREVIOUS REVIEW 2 Such a beautiful place, particularly now in the spring when everything starts to blossom. Since my last visit (before Covid), several sections have been expanded, eg the Chinese Garden, and others are under construction. The Huntington remains a super fav! PREVIOUS REVIEW 1 What do the Huntington Library, the beach, and High Sierra (e.g. Mammoth) have in common? The incredible display of nature that make each one of them an irreplaceable ingredient for L.A. quality of life. No matter how full it is, there is always the inevitable peace to rebalance from the day-to-day stress. The richness of conjoined plants with their wilderness, beauty, danger, independence, and durability that spans decades and centuries but observes subtle human-made changes puts many things into perspective. And its beauty is simply relaxing… P.S. … never regretted the membership … (Originally posted by me on yelp)

Absolutely amazing experience. We went for our wedding anniversary and it was worth the money. We did the free tour around the grounds, plus we went through two of the museums and lots of the gardens. Our favorite was probably the rose gardens and the subtropical area but all of it was really pretty in it's own way. We will be back with our mother's soon. 😁
Alexander B — Google review
Absolutely brilliant visit today. The weather was perfect — warm but not too sunny — and there is plenty of shade throughout the gardens, which makes wandering the trails comfortable and relaxing. Accessibility was great as well. The pathways are wheelchair-friendly, and it’s easy to navigate between most of the major garden areas without feeling limited. One important note: buy tickets ahead of time. They can sell out for the day, especially on weekends or during special events, so planning ahead will save you the trouble. If it’s your first time, the must-see highlights are: • The Chinese Garden – peaceful water views, beautiful architecture • The Japanese Garden – serene paths, koi ponds, and iconic landscaping • The Rose Garden – colorful, fragrant, and perfect for photos It’s the kind of place you can spend hours exploring without even realizing it. A stunning and well-maintained escape in the middle of the city — highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.

I have been wanting to come here for a long time! Had to buy tickets online as it was a holiday and guess they are needed for Friday's, Saturday's and Sundays. Went right away in the morning and spent over 4.5 hours here! At over 100 plus acres and 16 themed gardens there is a lot of walking involved. Galleries to enjoy, gift shop ,tea house, cafés and more. Gardens included desert, Japanese, Australian, jungle, roses and many more. There was a cute water play area for children. I saw tram shuttle for people that wanted a ride back as some places are far away from the entrance and it got very warm. Definitely worth the price to see this beautiful place!
Mamie Z — Google review
I can not wait to visit the museum and gardens again. I attended later in the day so I did not have enough time to spend in every garden but the taste I got on my first visit was a dream. There is nature everywhere. So many beautiful varieties of plants and flowers. Some of which I have never seen before. I spent most of my time in the gift shop and really had to hold back not spending too much money. It is well organized and caters to all lifestyles. The passionfruit vegan chocolate bar is thee best chocolate I have had. The Huntington is an amazing place to go alone, on a date or with family and friends. Perfect place for writing or people watching as well. They have free first Thursdays and if you own an EBT Calfresh card you will receive a discount. I was not too impressed with the food in the cafeteria area. There were tons of people getting food, tea and coffee. I was able to put a vegan meal together at the bowl place but the food was cold. The hot water spout for tea was not working so the guy on the other side had to give us hot water from the bar which was scolding hot. I thought to myself how dangerous that could be if I did not double my cup sleeve. The grab and go section was good. Fruit was super fresh and there was an area with desserts also. After I nibbled I walked until closing basically. After some time the people at the table are gone and you can just walk through to whatever garden you want but really it's only about 30 minutes before closing. Please visit. It a dream place to be.
Renaissance A — Google review
This place is magical. The grounds are breathtaking. The cafe food is delicious and reasonable. The galleries have some amazing works of art, including The Blue boy. They had a live performance of traditional Chinese music in the Chinese gardens on the day I visited. It was lovely, surrounded by a body of water with plants, flowers, and rockery. We were there for about 2.5 hours and barely saw 10% of what’s available. Will definitely return.

The Getty is a renowned, expansive museum that showcases American and European art, as well as architectural marvels and meticulously maintained gardens. It's one of the must-visit spots in Los Angeles, a city known for its diverse attractions ranging from beaches to mountains. The J. Paul Getty Museum aims to spark curiosity and appreciation for visual arts by collecting, preserving, displaying, and interpreting historically significant artworks.
Pretty amazing place. Driven by here many times on work trips out here and wanted to go. Finally made it happen. The place is massive - quite a bit bigger than I tthought it would be. Parking was easy and plentiful. Short tram ride from parking to the complex, and you are rocking and rolling. Very popular place. Went at around noon on a Thursday late September, and there were plenty of people. Imagine weekends, summer, and holidays quite crowded. I thought the museums were solid enough and the architecture was impressive, but the star of the show for me were the grounds. Amazing trees and flowers abounded. And the view of LA would have been impressive if it hadnt been so smoggy and a bit rainy. Really remarkable place, especially if you like naked paintings and sculptures (those Greeks and Romans and Europeans were free-swinging and uninhibited - might need to shuffle the kids along at various spots). Went to Getty Villa as well and liked that even more.

It is one of the most important art museums in the world, located in Los Angeles. Built with modern, light-colored stones, it is surrounded by gardens, water features and terraces. The museum houses European paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, photographs and decorative arts. Works by masters such as Van Gogh, Titian, Monet and Rubens are among the highlights. The photography collection is also one of the most extensive archives in the United States. Admission is free; parking costs $25, $15 after 3 p.m and $10 after 6 p.m.
Ozitheexplorer — Google review
The Getty Center is one of the greatest art collections ever assembled, and one of Los Angeles’s true cultural treasures. Perched high above the city in the Brentwood Hills, the Getty offers an extraordinary combination of art, architecture, and landscape design. The Richard Meier campus is a thoughtful collection of buildings connected by terraces, gardens and open courtyards where visitors are invited to flow through each of the collections through a series of footbridges and walkways. Arrival of the Getty is via light tram that slowly snakes up the hill, gradually expanding the views of Los Angeles and the surrounding hills, helping prepare visitors for the spectacular panoramic views that await them at the top. Inside, the Getty’s galleries house an exceptional range of European paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, and photography — from masterpieces by Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Monet to intricate medieval manuscripts and 18th-century furnishings. Pieces are thoughtfully curated and the skylight system makes these cavernous rooms feel airy and light. Beyond the main campus Central Garden designed by Robert Irwin, offers a serene landscape of winding paths, reflection pools and a vibrant mix of flora and fauna. First time visitors should budget approximately 2-3 hours to tour all of the museum's offerings. Admission is free although guests are encouraged to book in advance. Whether you’re a dedicated art lover, a design enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful escape with breathtaking views, the Getty Center offers one of the most enriching and inspiring experiences in the city.

The Getty Museum is truly one of Los Angeles’ treasures. The architecture and views alone are worth the visit — you can see the city, the ocean, and the mountains all from one spot. The gardens are beautifully designed and make for a peaceful walk. Inside, the art collection is incredible, ranging from European masterpieces to rotating exhibitions that are always thoughtfully curated. What I really love is that admission is free (just pay for parking), which makes it accessible for everyone. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, and everything feels very well organized. Whether you’re an art lover, a history buff, or just looking for a relaxing day in LA, the Getty is a must-visit.

We are a family of 4 traveling with a special needs adult son. This museum is free minus the cost of covered secure parking. Well worth the cost. Our adult son has limited mobility and if you are pushing a wheelchair it’s a workout. On sunny warm days umbrellas are provided while they last -plan accordingly. There is so much to see and appreciate. I walked away with new & surprising perspectives. The garden is especially impressive. You feel a little overwhelmed by the vigilance of the security but they are doing a good job. Plan for hours to stay. I hope you enjoy this impressive marvel! For younger eyes: as you may expect there is plenty of nudity in art - so a talk with kids beforehand may be helpful.

I have many long time favorites to visit in LA. But this place has now bar far hands down moved into the #1 spot to visit for all my art fans. There is a reason it is #1 in the world. They have made it an unbelievable experience from the time you get there to the time you leave. Amazing views into downtown Amazing views into West Hollywood. Reasonable on all fronts. Go early and make it a day trip. Reservations are highly advised. Google the Getty and it should be easy to find. Good walking shoes a must...

What an amazing visit! The architecture and stone masonry were absolutely breathtaking. The exhibition was so informative—I may never make it to Greece or Italy, but being surrounded by all the incredible artwork and sculptures truly made me feel like I was there. The gardens were stunning and added such a peaceful touch to the experience. A beautiful place that brings history to life!

I recently had the chance to visit the Getty in Los Angeles, and it was such an incredible experience. The museum itself is breathtaking, not only because of the world-class art collections but also because of the architecture and the atmosphere. Walking through the galleries, I was amazed by how beautifully everything was displayed, and I felt like I was being transported through different times and cultures. The outdoor spaces were just as impressive—the gardens and the panoramic views of Los Angeles made the visit even more special. It felt peaceful and inspiring at the same time, and I left with a sense of calm and appreciation for art, history, and nature all together. Visiting the Getty was truly unforgettable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to LA.

The Hollywood Sign, a legendary symbol of the entertainment industry, was erected in 1923 and is situated on Mount Lee. This iconic landmark is a must-see for anyone visiting California, especially those aspiring to make their mark in showbiz. For an unforgettable experience, explore various driving tours and walking trails that offer stunning views of the sign. One of the best vantage points can be found at Griffith Observatory, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of Los Angeles while soaking in beautiful sunsets.
Worth the hike to the top. Park in the neighborhood near the innsdale drive trail and walk from that direction. Went on a weekday and lots of space to park. Hike is fairly steep but not difficult and worth it for the views and pictures!

I took these photos from the side of the Griffith Observatory. My zoom isn’t the best 😬. Staying till after sunset, I don’t know why but I thought the sign illuminated - it didn’t. It would be good to see it glow, even if just for a short period of time. I am not sure if you can get nearer but google maps gave me this location. Enjoy. The Griffin Observatory is a nice site and park walkway. 💫

I visited the Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles, and it was an unforgettable experience! The drive through Griffith Park was scenic, and the panoramic view of the city from the top was absolutely stunning. Seeing the iconic white letters up felt surreal — a true symbol of LA’s magic. I recommend going early in the morning or near sunset to avoid crowds and catch the best light for photos. A must-visit spot for anyone in Los Angeles!

The Hollywood Sign is definitely a must-see when you’re in LA! It’s such an iconic spot, and seeing it up close feels unreal. I walked all the way to Lake Hollywood Park, which is an easier route it took me around 40 minutes, and it was totally worth it. The view from there is amazing, especially during sunset so gorgeous and peaceful! It’s a great spot to relax, take photos, and just enjoy the LA vibes.

What can I say that hasn’t already been covered? The views are majestic, the hike is tough but enjoyable. And the atmosphere is just great.

Yes, it's touristy, but it is still cool to see. Very steep hills with tight curves and oncoming traffic to get up there. Still worth doing though

Garden
Descanso Gardens, located in La Canada Flintridge, is a unique Southern California destination known for its picturesque botanic gardens and oak forests. The 160-acre botanical garden features specialized collections of roses, camellias, and native plants, as well as a Japanese garden and lakeside hiking trail. Visitors can also explore the art museum and enjoy special events such as outdoor art installations and live concerts.
The botanical garden is beautiful and offers a wealth of things to explore. During my first visit, I ventured off the main trail and had to use maps to find my way back. There are many spots to sit and rest, allowing visitors to enjoy the tranquility of nature, just as many others were doing. The garden also features a café, a dining market, and a restaurant, as well as a gift shop. If you're interested in purchasing plants, this is the place to go, as the prices are excellent.

This is such a beautiful place. My friends had a gorgeous wedding here about 27 years ago or so. I've been back a few times with friends and family. They have a large footprint and if I lived nearby, I would buy the annual membership and go walking here every day. The flowers are spectacular, but they also have big trees. It's so nice to get out of the city and come here. They have an area with a bunch of model trains. The gardens are very beautiful and romantic. You can take a tour of the historical home up on the hill and then climb behind it into the hills. There's another train big enough to take rides on. The shopping is pretty great at the gift store and we haven't begun to cover how beautiful it is here at Christmas. Highly recommend this place.

One of my favorite places to visit for a serene outing with a friend or with family. If you plan on visiting multiple times a year, consider getting a membership! I love the dual membership. Tried their new Farmhouse restaurant last time; the pizza of the day was delicious, as were the libations :) Lovely atmosphere to boot! The Japanese garden and the Oak Forest are my favorite spots for a stroll. They have a lovely live music series in the summer as well.

Had the opportunity to go to carved during the Halloween event going on at descanso gardens. Place was very vibrant. It had a very fall Halloween feel to it. Family friendly. Not too crowded. Definitely lots to look at and experience. Very impressed. Will definitely go next year.

It's summertime so there's a lot of wildflowers. Still very beautiful had a wonderful time. .. we spent around 3 hours. We went on a very warm day but there was a very nice breeze and quite a few places to sit they have comfortable lounge chairs by a dry riverbed. Where you can get a very wonderful breeze. I really enjoyed the garden and. The train display.

🌿 A peaceful escape into nature’s artistry Descanso Gardens is an absolute gem tucked just outside the bustle of LA. From the moment you step in, you’re surrounded by lush oak woodlands, vibrant camellias, and winding trails that feel like a gentle hug from Mother Earth. The Japanese Garden is especially serene, perfect for quiet reflection or snapping a photo that looks straight out of a fairytale. I visited on a sunny afternoon and was greeted by chirping birds, turtles sunbathing by the pond, and the scent of blooming roses. It’s not just a garden. it’s a sensory experience. Whether you’re a plant lover, a photographer, or just someone needing a moment of calm, Descanso delivers. Bonus: Free parking, friendly staff, and seasonal events that make each visit feel fresh. Highly recommend bringing water, sunscreen, and a curious spirit. 🌸 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would absolutely return.

Have heard about this place for years. Finally came to check it out on Sunday. Overall an 8 out of 10 since it’s during the day and I am sure it’s a full 10 after the sun sets, when the lights are sparkling! Beautiful, huge trees like Jurassic Park… Look forward to come back during the holidays and plan to stay through early evenings…
SMPHair.clinic S — Google review
Peaceful garden, reasonably priced. Free parking. You could walk the perimeter in half an hour, but to wind through the middle paths and see it all, moving slowly, would take more like an hour. There's a little train ride for kids, which is usually very busy. If you stop at the Boddy House to see the art display or attend another special event, you could be in the park for 2 hours. They recently reopened the restaurant (Summer 2025), which begins serving at lunchtime. The restaurant is very nice quality food, but is in high demand. I have had to wait for seating every time, even when I have a reservation and I'm one of the first in line. A faster alternative is the self-serve food court that has drinks, alcohol, snacks, salads, and sandwiches. You cannot take food or drink inside the gardens. Weekends are busy. This garden is best known for their tulips in March and massive rose garden in May. Also known for their nighttime light events around Halloween and Christmas.

The park also houses popular attractions such as the Greek Theatre and the L.A. Zoo, making it an ideal destination for families.
I love walking this trail, but bring plenty of water, a hat, and sunglasses, and remember to take breaks if starting from the bottom to walk up. It's a great view, but holy guacamole it creeps up on you as there are steep inclines. Wear good walking shoes that have good grip. This Observatory is absolutely fascinating, educational and it's a wonderful experience. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere is so relaxing as you take on the views of Los Angeles outside and learn so much inside. It's a great trip for couples, families, hikers, and bikers. More than one visit will be necessary to be amazed.

Griffith Observatory offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Los Angeles night skyline. My wife especially loved it since it’s one of the iconic filming locations from La La Land, which made the visit even more special. Even on weekdays, it gets quite crowded, so it’s best to arrive early if you want to find parking easily. ✨ A must-visit spot in LA, especially for movie lovers and night-view enthusiasts!

A nice place where you can see the Hollywood sign and a enjoy a beautiful view. When we went it was early so the observatory was closed to public. If you do not want to pay $10 per hour, park at the bottom of the hill and just walk if you are able to. It will serve as exercise with breathtaking views.

Great park, I’ve been here only a couple of times so far, once biking, once for a short hike from the observatory towards a Hollywood sign. Great views, but the trail is quite exposed to sun, so we didn’t go far. We’ve seen mini-tornado - cool.

Live music venue
Located in downtown Los Angeles, the Walt Disney Concert Hall is a striking music venue designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry. Built between 1999 and 2003, this avant-garde building boasts unstable geometry and disjointed forms, making it one of the most photographed buildings in the city. The stainless steel architecture creates a visually stunning sight that stands out among other modern structures nearby.
This is the most beautiful hall I’ve ever gotten to view something in. The ornate and detailed wood work and organ are breathtaking. The exterior is also mesmerizing in its self. Staff was very friendly, and helpful when finding your seat. Overall this building is an amazing place to view a concert, play, or other art.
Isaac B — Google review
Will return. Been here a couple of times but never found a concert we liked until today. The first half of the chamber music program featured modern pieces, and the second half was dedicated to Beethoven. It's interesting to note that they performed in the main hall (only half full), instead of the smaller one. The acoustic is gorgeous. The venue is terrific, especially the outdoor garden. They offered little wine prior to the start, and we chatted with a few female concertgoers. The first two ladies are friends, both widowed and living nearby. They suggested Vespiao for dinner. Then two separate females joined us, one Chinese, who said she's on the board of the Library, and confirmed the homeless people using the bathroom at the Central Library. She also insisted on talking to me in Mandarin. ... and the ride to the hotel afterward, the female Uber driver has classical music on -:) thank you!

Absolutely Beautiful💜❤️🩷The concert hall’s architecture is amazing and the high ceilings structure in the interior is perfect for sound/ acoustics. The seating is perfect at any angle and it has comfortable seating for everyone. The woodwork is beautiful on every level. Gaining entrance to the concert hall is really easy and available on every level of the parking structure and on the street level entrance. There’s accessible parking and seating in this building. There's a gift shop, plus areas to buy food and drinks on each level. There's also a beautiful outdoor dining area and a beautiful view of the city. This building has beautiful structures of art, mesmerizing walk ways, and paths around the sitting areas which lead you to explore. There’s an addition for children to explore and experience the arts with a children's stage. The staff is friendly, efficient and very supportive to help with all necessities and getting you to your seat on time. The performers and performances of all of these musical talents will take your breath away. Gustavo Dudamel is absolutely fantastic and of course including all of the musicians giving their best performances. Just watching and listening to everything made me feel mesmerized and so happy to be able to share this experience with others. If you have the chance to see him conduct with so much passion, please do. This is his last season in Los Angeles.
Sandy H — Google review
This is our first time visiting the Walt Disney concert hall. The architecture is beautiful, and the overall design of the building is wonderful. If you have never visited the concert hall, please know that the ORCHESTRA VIEW section is behind the stage so you will be enjoying the music from the bands backside. “Orchestra view”means the view the orchestra has facing the audience. Would not recommend this section even if it’s called “orchestra”. Seating is bench style - not individual seats, so it can be crowded and you’ll be sitting arm-to-arm, literally. Would return but only to purchase seating in the center sections.
Alvina H — Google review
What a beautiful place, I don’t think there is a bad seat in the whole concert hall. There is plenty of parking in the underground garage and it is very easy to get up to the entrance. We had a nice experience and I look forward to our next concert. Unfortunately, it is not allowed to take pictures or record video once the concert begins, so I only took a few pictures pre-concert.
Frank R — Google review
Amazing place to visit. I did the self-guided tour and was pretty straightforward. I did it on a Saturday morning and the music hall was open. Super nice!
Bernardo N — Google review
Even without stepping inside, the Walt Disney Concert Hall leaves a lasting impression. I had the pleasure of admiring it every day from my hotel room at the Conrad across the street and it became a favorite part of my LA skyline view. Designed by Frank Gehry, the building’s architecture is truly a masterpiece — with its swooping silver curves and bold futuristic presence. It's captivating from every angle and feels like a sculpture come to life. I didn’t get a chance to attend a performance this time, but just walking around the structure and seeing how it reflects light at different times of day was already a memorable experience. I’d love to return someday to hear the acoustics from within.
Genta — Google review
This was my third visit to Walt Disney Concert Hall. We attended an astonishing performance of Mahler’s 2nd Symphony by the LA Philharmonic. The hall, designed by famed architect Frank Gehry, is a marvel of form and function that needs to be experienced. Tours are available daily. Don’t miss the garden area on the south and west sides of the building. The acoustics in the concert hall are amazingly clear.

Specialty Museums
Nestled on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Getty Villa is an architectural marvel inspired by a 1st-century Italian villa. This museum in Malibu, designed by Richard Meier, boasts classical architecture and serene gardens. It houses an impressive collection of Greek and Roman antiquities, including marble statues, mosaic floors, and Etruscan artwork. Visitors can explore replicas of ancient Roman architecture and admire artifacts such as frescoes from Pompeii and a bronze statue of an athlete.
This is a magnificent space and worth the trip. The gardens are beautiful and the exhibits are spectacular. It is said that there his is the most richly endowed museum in earth and it shows. It is immaculate and extraordinarily well maintained. It would be easy to spend hours upon hours exploring the artwork, artifacts, and the grounds. This is a can’t-miss experience.
Pamela B — Google review
This is my first time visiting this beautiful museum. I'm happy they protected the museum from the recent wild fire. The artifacts were in exceptional condition. I think next time I attend a group or semi private tour. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This is a place to relax outside and walk into the museum at your own leisure. It is so serene with the view of the Pacific Ocean in the background.
Steve U — Google review
This place is unreal. The setting along PCH just east of Malibu close to the ocean is amazing. Went late September on a Thursday. Got there at 10 AM as they were opening and stayed a little over 1.5 hours. Parking was easy and $25. Admission is free so the overpriced parking didnt feel that bad. The museum is excellent and has lots of good Greek and Roman paintings, sculptures, and other artifacts. Had an Egyptian exhibit while I was there that was nice as well. But where this place shines IMO is in the building and the gardens. Impressive replica of an ancient Roman palace. So many details done right from the courtyards to the gardens to the galleries to the fountains. All amongst the back drop of the Pacific Ocean. Absolutely incredible. I didn't want to leave! Went to the Getty as well and thought this was even better, which speaks highly of this place. Was less crowded when I went compared to the Getty Center (went to both on same day).
Jimmer W — Google review
I first visited the Getty Villa back when it was called the J. Paul Getty Museum, during my freshman year of college. What struck me most was how it felt—like stepping into a wealthy person’s private home rather than a typical museum. The antiquities were displayed in this gorgeous villa setting with gardens and marble halls, all located on the Malibu cliffs. It had this eccentric quality that reflected J. Paul Getty’s personal vision and made ancient artifacts feel completely at home. Coming back decades later, I’m impressed by how they’ve improved the place while keeping that special atmosphere intact. The renovation back in the early 2000’s brought all the modern museum conveniences—better signage, clearer organization, smarter educational materials—without losing the villa’s charm. They’ve also made it more resilient against Malibu’s wildfire threats after the Palisades fire in early 2025. The best part is that it still has that quality where you feel like you’re actually in a different time, just with better amenities and a more thoughtful presentation. If you haven't been there since 2005, I would recommend you going back to see the differences and enjoy the fresh Malibu air. Bring others in your family to enjoy too.
Nasser S — Google review
The Getty Villa: An Ancient Roman Escape in Malibu The Getty Villa is arguably one of the most uniquely themed museums in the world. It is the perfect destination for anyone interested in Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities, but the main draw for many visitors is the stunning environment itself. Modeled after the ancient Roman Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum, the property transports you straight to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean. The Architectural Experience (5/5 Stars) The architecture is the undisputed star of the show. The sprawling villa features magnificent courtyards, stunning mosaics, frescoes, and reflective pools that perfectly capture the essence of a first-century Roman estate. Walking through the Outer Peristyle with its 300-foot-long pool, surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens and bronze statues, is an experience in pure escapism. It’s hard to remember you are just off the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles. While some critics view the detailed recreation as leaning toward "theme park," the sheer beauty and atmospheric quality of the design are compelling. The architecture is a powerful educational tool that provides context for the art housed within. The Collection and Exhibits (4/5 Stars) The collection is specialized, focusing exclusively on ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art dating from 6,500 BC to AD 400. While the collection may not be as expansive as the world’s largest art institutions, its intimate focus allows for a deeper appreciation of the works. Highlights include beautiful black and red-figure vases, intricate jewelry, everyday household wares, and, most famously, a highly debated statue known as the Getty Kouros. The way the galleries are designed—often using natural light—allows the antiquities to be viewed beautifully, providing an immediate connection to the past. Gardens and Amenities The four distinct gardens—each styled after a different ancient Roman prototype—are delightful, offering tranquility and gorgeous photo opportunities. The Herb Garden is particularly fragrant and well-labeled. The museum is very visitor-friendly. General admission is always free (though a timed reservation is required), and the café offers reasonably priced and fresh food with a spectacular view of the amphitheater. The staff is knowledgeable and available for guided tours, which are highly recommended for understanding the context of the architecture and the art. Final Verdict The Getty Villa is more than a museum; it’s a beautifully realized piece of immersive architecture. It is an essential visit for anyone in the Los Angeles area, particularly those who appreciate ancient history, stunning views, and architectural grandeur. Plan to spend as much time outdoors enjoying the gardens and courtyards as you do inside the galleries. Tip: Book your free tickets well in advance, especially during peak season, and don't forget that parking requires a fee.
Shahrukh — Google review
Visiting the Getty Villa is like stepping into another era—the museum perfectly captures the elegance and grandeur of ancient Rome and Greece. Every gallery is a treasure trove of meticulously preserved artifacts, from intricate sculptures to everyday objects that bring the ancient world to life. The attention to detail in both the collections and the villa itself makes the experience immersive and unforgettable. Walking through the gardens, surrounded by classical architecture and stunning ocean views, adds another layer of awe. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply curious, the Getty Villa offers a journey through antiquity that feels both intimate and monumental. Truly one of the finest museums for experiencing the beauty and sophistication of ancient civilizations.
Theo A — Google review
The Getty Villa in Santa Monica is one of the better day-adventures we have done in the greater Los Angeles area. The cafe has good Mediterranean food at a decent price (yes, they have beer and wine, too), and the photo opportunities here were endless! Dodger Stadium, located in Elysian Park and opened in 1962, is a must-visit for baseball fans. With a massive 56,000-seat capacity, it's one of the largest MLB stadiums and has been home to the Los Angeles Dodgers since its inception.
Went to Dodger Stadium for the Dodgers v Blue Jays game 3 of a 3 game weekend series. It was absolutely incredible. With the Stadium being old and full of history it was nothing what I was expecting. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The stadium was clean. The views from outside looking in to the views inside looking out were beautiful. Some of the Dodgers fans got a little hostile when the Jays took the lead which I get as a sports fan but chanting USA and using course language was a little much as a lot of young kids were around. The cherry on top was the Blue Jays avoiding the sweep in an exciting conclusion for a regular season game.A must visit if you are a baseball fan. Go Jays Go!

I went to a game at Dodger Stadium recently, and it was an amazing time. The energy in the stadium is contagious—from the crowd singing along to the national anthem to the excitement building with each pitch, everything felt electric. The stadium itself is iconic. The views are fantastic, especially when the sun starts to set behind the hills. The architecture has a classic charm, you can tell this is a park with history and with character. Food-wise, I got nachos and a beer. Delicious choices, but yes—the prices were steep. Nachos cost more than expected, and the beer wasn’t cheap. Still, consuming them while cheering, surrounded by fans, made it worth it. The amenities and atmosphere were excellent. Plenty of vendors, good sightlines, helpful staff. Even if parking or getting in took a bit of time, once inside it didn’t matter—every moment felt fun. Overall, despite the high cost of snacks and drinks, it was a very fulfilling experience. If you love baseball, camaraderie, and a lively crowd, Dodger Stadium is a must-visit.

A truly fantastic baseball experience from a visiting fan (Phillies). Views inside are fantastic. We had first row seats in the 158 Loge level. Food at the main concourse level is great (garlic fries are a must get). Getting in and out was a breeze, and the fans were awesome. Super cool experience.

An old stadium that just works and has stood up to the test of time! They have so many spots for photo opportunities for you and the family. My one let down was the security gaurd at the gate, he was ultra power trip and couldn't wait to ruin someone's day. Wish I would have gotten a picture hindsight. My buddy was not allowed in with his fanny pack as it didn't fit in the box? He searched it first, then proceeded to demonstrate that it didn't fit, even though it fit. He maneuvered to make it look like it didn't fit and fluffed it to make it look like it didn't fit. Made him walk all the way back to the truck(30minutes away)even after pleading with him. Then when he came back he made him throw away his vape? Been through stadiums and concerts and never seen someone have to throw away their vape. Of course you cannot smoke them but never seen them have to be thrown away. You can even go through airport security with them? There was no talking to this guy so he threw it away(note these are not cheap, around $40) definitely brought the energy down after having start the game experience with this. Some consistency in training and maybe a supervisor readily available in the event there is a question. Just typing this up brings back the level of frustration. Sad. The rest of the experience was dope. Dodger dogs are just part of the experience. Still get to get your ice cream in the baseball helmets and dont forget about the nachos in the bigger helmet! Oh and dont walk to the stadium as the uphill slope is not fun lol. Just park there for $35. (Pro tip)

2nd-best setting in American sports. An iconic stadium dripping in celebrated history around every corner - the Dodgers truly embrace nostalgia. You can bring in unopened water and food in a clear "stadium-size" bag so save yourself money and grab some sandwiches and snacks before going in. Buying food and drinks at the stadium, after paying for the seats, is an adventure in fiscal suicide, but you go because you're a rabid Dodgers fan or baseball fan. Sit at the top of the stadium or in the outfield seats with the true fans, repping Valenzuela jerseys and laughing and cheering throughout the game. Sit in the outfield during a game against San Diego or San Francisco, you won't regret it. The drive to and from the stadium sucks, the prices are insane, but the ambiance of the organ played throughout, the fun-loving fans and the top of stadium views are nearly unbeatable.

I visited the Stadium with my family and had a great experience. The staff was knowledgeable and welcoming, and the team provided excellent care. Parking was simple and convenient, and we were in and out quickly. The only thing I didn’t try was the food, which seemed a bit overpriced, but overall it was a smooth and enjoyable visit.

3rd oldest baseball stadium in the US. Beautifully maintained with lots of memorabilia to see and enjoy, and even a botanical garden. Ample parking and a great views of DTLA and surrounding areas. Take the tour if you can and explore places you normally aren't allowed into.

I want to take this time to make this 5 star review because I was there on 9/20/25 in which it was a good experience and I went with my dad because he won a ticket raffle with Coca Cola. I’ve been a dodger fan for so long that now, I can finally say I was there watching everything live. Everything was well organized that now I want to go watch another game in person. But yeah overall a good experience at the Dodgers Stadium.

Nestled within 605 acres, Franklin Canyon Park is a nature lover's paradise and a treasure trove of Hollywood history. The park offers over five miles of picturesque hiking trails that wind through its stunning landscape, including a serene duck pond and a 3-acre lake inhabited by Koi, turtles, and geese.
Went here on a Saturday in April. Saw a video on ig posted by the tannr guy and had to check it out. We didn’t know where to park but we parked on the side at the baseline. It was pretty steep and I would recommend boots with traction. We slipped a few times. There were signs that said leased dog friendly.

Really enjoyed that terrain. Unfortunately, the visitor center has been closed with funding shortages, but the grounds are marvelous. The water is lovely and there are ducks and turtles and Koi in the pond as well as wonderful old growth trees.

This review is not a reflection on Franklin Canyon Park, which is a beauty and 5 star treasure but a bad rating on the ever disappointing LADWP of keeping the North Gate closed for almost 2 years now. While there was severe erosion damage on Lake Drive south of Franklin Cyn Lake, this issue is different. The erosion damage that LADWP and the Park Management claims is responsible for the continued closure of the North Gate is ridiculous and could be repaired much faster if there would be a desire to do so. Some might suspect that this is more politically motivated to find a reason to keep the park locked for through traffic. A similar example is the closure of Griffith Park Drive between Travel Town and the composting facility towards Wilson/ Harding Golf Course for "bicycle safety reasons". I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it's undeniable that LA City is on a roll on making people's access to parks more and more difficult whenever a chance presents itself. So let's see and wait if the Franklin Cyn North Gate ever opens again or the permanent closure is announced at one convenient point. At this point there's no effort visible on repairing the minor damage in this one location, a few sand bags and traffic cones is LADWP's best effort in 2 years, really?
Olaf S — Google review
This park is a traffic ticket trap! Cameras and video recording everywhere. Avoid at all costs. You will get a letter to pay or be sent to collections. Not worth the hassle. Other awesome parks in SoCal to visit without the invasion of privacy. Tinted windows, crack in windshield, roll through stop sign, double park, dog poops without clean up, any of these minor violations, you will see a ticket. Cameras follow you. Good luck!

Reasonably nice. Great to see the lake and the turtles. Good for a family walk. Many trails to choose from but advise. If you have small kids avoid the Blinderman trail. It is very steep going up and coming down. Stick to the other trails which are not too steep. Nice views all-round from different locations if you can go up the trails Parking is free. NICE!

The Last Bookstore, located in Downtown Los Angeles, is a spacious and airy book and record store that has become a beloved destination since its establishment in 2005. It features imaginative art installations with books suspended in the air and a tunnel made of hardbacks. With over 250,000 books and vinyl records spread across two floors, including some priced as low as $1, the store encourages book selling and trading to support the traditional print industry.
I found this place randomly looking for a hidden gem in downtown LA and it didn't disappoint at all! It was the absolute gen for my trip to LA this year! It was like entering to another world. I love it! So much to see and many really good books! The Vinyl section is a must is you look for unique pieces at good prices! It blows my mind every time I remember the time I spent on the library it wasn't enough. I must say that even the bathrooms were very decent and clean, reminded me of high-school but nevertheless a great facility with very friendly people. Also please stop by the second floor art hall and do yourself a favor and buy a coffee, it is absolutely delicious!

I visited The Last Bookstore in LA mainly to see the interiors I’d heard about, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The architecture, set in a converted bank building, is striking with high ceilings, book tunnels, and creative installations that give it an artistic feel. The book stacks and collections were particularly noteworthy, offering a wide range of used and new titles, from rare finds to graphic novels. It provided a nice contrast to the e-reading world, with the tactile experience of browsing physical books feeling like a welcome change. The staff were helpful, and the overall atmosphere is inviting for browsers and collectors alike. If you’re in LA, it’s worth a stop. A thoughtful space that celebrates books in a creative way.

One of my absolute favorite hidden gems in downtown LA. This place is more than just a bookstore — it's a creative maze of art, literature, and discovery. The interior is atmospheric with tall shelves, winding paths, and imaginative book installations that make you feel like you've stepped into a storybook. There are plenty of photo-worthy corners including the famous book tunnel and flying book sculptures. Beyond the aesthetics, they also have a great mix of new and used titles, vinyl records, and even a few independent art studios tucked upstairs. I easily spent a couple of hours here just browsing and soaking it all in. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why physical bookstores still matter.

Antiques glorified, its a nice bookstore.. you can get used books.. everything is kinda vintage.. having things from the 2000s as antiques was a fun surprise and hilarious. But its a cool spot! Its in a not so safe area but has a lot of people coming in and out of the bookstore… hopefully that makes it safe inside. There are small shops selling paintings, stones, old cameras, telephones etc

The Last Bookstore is such a cool place to visit, it’s more than just a bookstore. They have a great mix of new and used books, plus rare finds and tons of different genres. I spend 2 hours browsing the shelves, I took photos at the book tunnel upstairs. There’s also a vinyl section and local art displays. The staff is super friendly and the books have good value. It can get busy on weekends, but it’s worth it.
Mayi B — Google review
This book store is amazing, but… The store is incredible and well worth the visit to DTLA. I’d say it’s a must for any true lover of books and reading. Now for the but… if you’re also a coffee lover, I would recommend you skip the upstairs option. It’s a cup of luke-warm coffee (out of a can) with the only milk option being a honey almond milk. There’s plenty of good coffee within walking distance. All in all, The Last Great Bookstore is an awesome and cool spot to visit and I highly recommend it.
Mike C — Google review
Truly a book lover’s heaven 🌻 It was like one of those bookstores that we read about in books, steeped in old-world charm. Towering stacks from floor to ceiling, creative book sculptures (think tunnels, arches, and barrels made of books), and even a delightfully spooky room. One can easily lose track of time browsing the endless sections and $1 finds. Absolutely worth a visit!
Sharmishtha T — Google review
Pretty cool and unique bookstore, with a variety of genres ranging from fantasy to religion. They also have cool rooms and structures on the second floor. Cool spot to chill or explore. The books are reasonably priced for the most part. One thing I did notice is certain topics are lacking coverage compared to other especially in the religions section.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame, established in 1960, is a renowned sidewalk area along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles. It features over 2,500 stars bearing the names of celebrities from various entertainment fields. The stars are adorned with symbols representing their area of expertise. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, people-watching, and indulge in treats like ice cream at Ghirardelli while exploring nearby attractions such as the TCL Chinese Theater and the Wax Museum.
Hollywood Walk of Fame is a must see and I've had an excellent experience there. The stars of all the famous celebrities, films, actresses, actors, singers and more. It was crowded but I still had a really great experience. I would highly recommend going to this attraction.

Definitely needs to be cleaned. One of the areas that we stopped by was smelling like pee. The stars also looked like they were being maintained. It seems like the stars around the Chinese theater is well taken care of but the rest are ignored. Over it was trying to find the classic ones.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an iconic and unforgettable experience that beautifully captures the magic and legacy of the entertainment world. Strolling along Hollywood Boulevard, you’re surrounded by history — each star represents the achievements of legendary artists, actors, musicians, and filmmakers who have shaped global culture. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of life, with street performers, shops, and cafes adding to the excitement. It’s amazing to spot your favorite celebrities’ stars and take memorable photos along the way. The area is well-maintained and easy to explore, especially near the TCL Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre. Whether you’re a movie lover, a first-time visitor, or simply curious about Hollywood’s history, the Walk of Fame offers a fun, inspiring, and truly iconic experience. It’s a must-see attraction that celebrates the timeless spirit and creativity of the entertainment capital of the world.
LOUIE Y — Google review
It was fun to see and recognize the stars of the famous and legendary celebs but once is enough. Its dotted along the way with popular and famous buildings and stores but it also has its fair share of pop ups and tons and tons or souvenir shops that just bogs you down with its cookie cutter sameness. Its worth it if you have an hour or 2 to kill.
Eltea — Google review
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is definitely something worth seeing at least once! It’s fun spotting all the different stars and realizing how many famous names you recognize. There’s always a lot of energy, street performers, and interesting people watching, which makes it a unique experience. Parking can be a little tricky, especially on busy days or weekends, but if you’re patient you can usually find a spot in one of the nearby lots or side streets. I’d also recommend looking up the exact address of any specific celebrity’s star you want to see before you go — the Walk stretches for quite a few blocks, and this makes it much easier to find what you’re looking for. Overall, it’s a fun piece of Hollywood history and a great stop if you’re visiting LA!

Have been several times but just recently went for the first time in 17 years. Still as entertaining as ever. Especially people watching. Went to Hard Rock Cafe and had a couple martini’s, loved the ambiance

We went there with my boyfriend and really enjoyed our walk. You can check all the stores and can find some cool stuff there. We bought keychains that have our names 🩷
Sophia K — Google review
There are many shops on both side of the street but is very crowded even during the weekday. The sidewalks had many Street vendors. You can buy various kinds of goods and souvenir items from the street vendors or from the shop. There are stars people's name on it on the sidewalk. Although I don't know all of them, but some of them are well known actors. And there are some people who is selling to have your name printed on the star, which I think it's interesting because the name on the store was pre-printeds on it and it is not designed for people to make a sale so I didn't even bother asking. There are also many restaurants and cafes along the streets so you don't have to worry about being hungry or thirsty when you're walking the Hollywood famous sidewalk. The good thing is there's no camper on the street and the straightest relatively clean with a lot of tourists and many beautiful building structures that you can take a photo off.

A must visit for the art lovers. We had a great time exploring the place. So many cool and unique things by talented artists. Loved it. Highly recommend. We did not buy tickets for this since there was some kind of special event/discount going on but do check their website if you require tickets for it.

As you walk up to this building I was very much impressed by the architecture. Once inside you will find spectacular modern art from one extreme to another. Tickets are free and staff were great. I very much enjoyed the art and was impressed by the way the space was utilized both to maximize viewing and meaning of the art pieces and the public use. Highly recommended.

Worthwhile visit if you’re in the area! A wonderful exhibit to unique, famous and interesting art pieces made free by philanthropists. The history of the collection is on the second floor. Don’t miss the second floor for the collection’s history, and take a moment to admire the stunning architecture itself. Remember to visit Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room. It is incredible. Entry is free, but advance booking is required for special exhibits!

Really great museum with tons of excellent artists. And it's FREE! Just the right amount to see here -- really well curated. One strong suggestion: I don't usually do the audio guides because they can be clunky. Not here though! When you arrive, there's a QR code right at the start near one of the first art pieces. Click the link and there are some great, brief overviews of like 10 pieces. Not long boring explanations, just 1-2 minutes with perspectives from the artists or experts. Really well done!

I love this museum for so many reasons. The museum is free all year long thanks to the Broad family 🫶🏻 they opened the museum wanting to share the art they’ve acquired over the years. They have one of the Infinity Mirror Rooms from Yayoi Kusama, a must if you visit LA. It’s rare to find a place with Yayoi’s fixed exhibitions. You’ll have to book a ticket for the museum and the infinity room or just for the infinity room. In the second floor you’ll find art from Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Yayoi Kusama, Jeff Koons between others. Give yourself some time to visit this museum, you won’t regret it.

Not the fan of the modern art but the building itself is the art. Love it!!! Free but need to reserve your time on line beforehand. On side parking was full that day so they directed us to the parking garage of Walt Disney concert hall cross the street for the same charge of $25. After The Broad we visited concert hall where you could get a sticker allowed you to see inside building and go up to the top no charge.

Perch is a glamorous rooftop setting in Historic Downtown Los Angeles, offering French small plates and handcrafted cocktails with stunning city views. The revitalized neighborhood boasts several rooftop bars, but Perch stands out as the most romantic spot for locals and visitors to enjoy low lights, delicious cocktails, and semi-secluded corners while admiring the LA skyline.
Amazing downtown views and a great ambiance! The food was delicious, and it’s an excellent spot to grab drinks and relax. I loved everything about this place. My only complaint is that the service was a bit slow—the waiters were sometimes hard to get hold of. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience overall!

Perch in Downtown Los Angeles is one of those rare places that makes the city itself feel cinematic. Perched high above Pershing Square, it offers a panoramic view that stretches from the shimmering skyline to the Hollywood Hills. It’s no wonder that this French-inspired rooftop restaurant draws both locals and travelers looking for that quintessential LA evening. Yes, it can get crowded, especially on weekends, but it’s part of the energy and allure. The key is to lean into it, find your rhythm, and let the ambiance carry the night. The food here is consistently excellent. The French onion soup is one of the best in the city, rich and deeply caramelized with a perfect layer of melted Gruyère. The steak frites are a signature dish for good reason: perfectly cooked, served with crisp, salty fries and a velvety peppercorn sauce that feels indulgent but balanced. The moules frites are another standout, swimming in a white wine broth fragrant with garlic and herbs. For something lighter, the roasted beet salad and the seared scallops both show real finesse. The cocktail list is thoughtful, with house specialties like the Hemingway daiquiri and a lavender martini that pairs beautifully with the sunset. Romantic, delicious, and unforgettable, Perch is one of LA’s rare spots that truly earns its reputation.

We valet parked right in front and it cost $15. We went up two different elevators and came out into an old antique room..the decor was from the early 1900s and wonderful. Paintings of naked ladies over the bar..cool chandeliers and lights and event he floor was really old patterns and the dining area had super old tiles on the floor. Many were cracked but it added to the atmosphere of the old building which is over 100 years old. We got seated outside on the roof although there was even a higher roof top floor we could see adjacent to us. We immediately were approached by our waiter who got our drink orders and returned quickly with them. They had a lot of choices and we had coffee and lattes and water and tea and everyone said they were delicious. We ordered from the breakfast menu and first got appetizers.. Brie Cheese wrapped in a pastry with a little fruit ans it was delicious. Wished it was a larger amount! Also got a fruit plate and enjoyed the fresh cut fruits. We had others too but forgot to get my camera out. For breakfast we got several items..Eggs Benedict, French Toast with fruit and maple syrup, a fancy salad of some sort and you can see the pictures of the rest. I was a bit overwhelmed so didnt think about the names of what each of ua got. They had champagne and a full large bar. Nice staff and courteous. Overall it was a lovely meal and only wish the surrounding area weren't filled with homeless and druggies. Made me sad and a bit scared once we got outside. We were so happy the valet was close.

It has a rooftop and a great environment. You need to go to the 13th floor first and then transfer to the 15th floor. It offers dining options and also has an outdoor area. The 16th floor is the rooftop, where the night view is fantastic. The food taste is just so-so, but the environment adds a lot of points. Finally, they also gave us three glasses of champagne, which was really nice.

I usually don't do long reviews, but here we are. This review is also the average of 8 people combined (our table). Overall score total of 2 out of 5. We made a birthday reservation party of 8 for Sunday 10/27 @7:30pm. We arrived around 7:35/40pm as due to La traffic and parking situation, plus elevator wait to go up as it is small. To start off it felt fine and we were ready to have a great experience for a birthday celebration. But as we were seated, it was a long wait for the server to just come and introduce themselves. Then even after they did it took another 20/30 minutes for them to take our orders. Since it was busy and we had a big group, we had to get the pre fix combo meals. The first dishes for our group took another 15/20 minutes and same thing for the course/entree and deserts. The funny part is that the bussers would also keep coming to us and asking if we were done. Even if we were the plates get all taken away but our next dish was another wait. On top of that our server was no where to be found the entire time, which also made no sense when the 20% gratuity was added to our bill by default already. Made it seem like since they know and we know we are getting auto charged for gratuity they can do whatever and they're still getting their tips. Then, when my entree came it was a steak frite, I asked for medium well which I usually get and has never had a problem at other restaurants. But when I got it at the Perch, it was different very rare and I told them nicely and the server took it back gave me a new one, which the steak was honestly not any better and if anything was more rare. I kept wanting to look on the bright side but it was just getting worse. Anyways they gave birthday girl the desert with a candle, but tell me why another table outside in the patio outisde got the whole team (all the servers) to sing for them. When we only got the busser who brought out the desert and sang happy birthday halfway and just left.... I don't know if they normally sing for birthdays but we felt racially discriminated as there were no Asians inside the restaurant at the time as well. Well as it ended I was discussing with our group about the service and food, pretty sure a server heard us talking about REVIEWS and YELP, so then somehow the manager runs over and asks us about our experience. We told him a little about this overall experience and he offered us to go checkout the rooftop and gave us drinks. But he lowkey didn't make it any better because we didn't ask for drinks or talk about our genuine experience to get free drinks and rooftop bar entry. It wasn't our point, but I do think overall the Perch needs better teamwork and everyone on the same page because why did it take forever to get our food and for our server or anyone to come assist us. On top of everything it wasn't busy too. For an upscale restaurant that we are paying each $73 for, I would expect better service and food. Anyways sorry for the long review, but on my behalf and my group we just didn't feel like this was an upscale 5 star restaurant experience.

Perch is a great French restaurant, perched atop an aesthetic rooftop. My steak was cooked perfectly, and I thought the mashed potatoes were brilliantly seasoned. The bouillabaisse (which I tried) was also very nice. The server ensured my meal was safe, and even verified with me when it came out so I would feel at ease. The live music was a wonderful touch, and made for a very inviting atmosphere. In short, I would be happy to perch myself at Perch once again for a meal!

Had a nice experience. It was our first visit and we had plenty of questions but most of the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful! It is limited spacing so it can feel like a tight squeeze for a bigger group 4+. They have heaters and blankets as the evenings/nights get colder. The food was amazing! And the cocktails hit the spot. Great spot for a little celebration

A dear friend is visiting from the East Coast this weekend and as we were trying to decide where to "meet in the middle" between Pasadena and Fullerton, I mentioned that I had been craving short ribs. My friend nearly exploded with excitement as she said, "We have to go to Perch!!" She went on to tell me how much she'd enjoyed her previous dining experiences there. She said, "You're going to love it! They have the BEST short ribs." And she was right! The braised short ribs were tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The ribs were plated with potato puree, beets and pearl onions. I contemplated saving some for another meal, but I was enjoying them so much, nothing was left to take home. 🤷🏽‍♀️ For appetizers, we shared the baked brie anf the Cesar Salad, both were delicious. The salad dressing had a delicious citrus undertone that subtly elevated the flavor. The brie was wrapped in a cute puff pastry and served with a tango vegetable slaw. They paired so deliciously. I also ordered the brussel sprouts, since it's one of my favorite veggies when roasted. They were well seasoned and tasted good, but they were a little undercooked for my preference. For dessert, we both had decaf affogatos. It's a delicious way to top off the meal! The view of Downtown LA at night was beautiful. The vibe was amazing. We were seated outside on the patio near the band (by request). Ms. Sydney Ranee and her group delivered chill, soulful sounds of familiar tunes so creativity arranged. We stayed until the end of their last set and had to stop to laud and thank them for the beautiful sounds. The current, warmer October weather made the evening enjoyable as well. I brought a jacket just in case, but didn't need it. There were patio heaters nearby, but we didn't need them. One thing I noticed and appreciated about the patio dining is that even though it's up high, there was a visual break of plants around the patio between the safety glass and the edge of the building. It helped minimize the butterflies I often feel when looking out from a tall building. The wait staff was very efficient and attentive. One person, Brett, stood out though. We chatted with him for quite a while as we were about to begin our appetizers. He was very friendly and attentive. He even accompanied us to the rooftop bar where we had the chance to talk some more. He definitely added to an already memorable and enjoyable evening.

Perched high above the Hollywood Bowl amphitheater, the Jerome C. Daniel Overlook offers a stunning panoramic view of Los Angeles. Located along the iconic Mulholland Drive, this spot provides telescopes for visitors to take in the sights of downtown LA, the famous Hollywood Sign, and even glimpses of the ocean on clear days.
Really cool scenic overlook with a great view of downtown (if you can catch it on a low smog day) and the Hollywood bowl especially! Good view of the Hollywood sign if you can zoom in on your phone maybe. Really fascinating house overlooking it too.

Lovely spot! It's a place you can drive right up to on Mulholland Drive, nice and easy. And the views are absolutely breathtaking! You can see the Hollywood Bowl spread out before you, the tall buildings of downtown LA reaching for the sky, and on a clear day. It's a real treat for the eyes, a peaceful place to take it all in without having to walk far at all. You should really consider a visit!

Iconic Hollywood vibes 🏙✨ This viewpoint overlooking the Hollywood Bowl and downtown LA is a personal favorite—early morning light or golden hour on a clear or moody day really brings the magic. Pros: A go-to for stunning views, unforgettable moments, and that classic LA feel. Cons: It’s weather-dependent, and the vibe shifts if it’s too crowded, parking’s a struggle, or the spot’s closed off. Tip: Worth it if you’re exploring solo or hosting out-of-town visitors—but check the weather and parking scene first! 🌤🚗

Great and historic place on the walk of fame. Lots of street vendors and restaurants nearby. Very crowded.

Showed up and the gate was already closed. Kind of a bummer as we had driven there for that view. Warning the gate is closed at 6. We drove down the road around several bends managed to pull over and get a bit of a city pic. Unless it’s winter, don’t expect an evening view pic from here.

Stumbled across this park while driving in the hills. Awesome location for a quick stop if you have some time to kill before dinner or want to see a number of sights in one place! I had never been to the hills before but this scratched my tourist itch even more than my last visit to Hollywood when I visited Hollywood Boulevard. Highly recommend sunscreen if visiting in the summer, as there wasn't much shade. I also recommend climbing up to the lookout, the view was impeccable! (Hollywood Bowl, Capitol Records, Hollywood Sign, and many other LA attractions were easily visible, even in the rain.)
Matt D — Google review
Super cool overlook. The Hollywood sign is a lot farther than we thought but the view of LA was breath-taking! Got some really nice pics. Getting there was a bit convoluted. We drove all the way to the Runyon Canyon Park and then drove back to take a right on this overlook. There’s a neat little sign explaining some history on the Hollywood sign.

Also known as the Hollywood Bowl Overlook, the Jerome C Daniel Overlook is a must!!! Situated in the hills above Hollywood, this vantage point provides breathtaking panoramic views of the iconic Hollywood Bowl amphitheater, the Hollywood sign and the surrounding cityscape with sweeping gorgeous green hills. This spot is easily reachable by car or public transportation. There are only about 6 places to park, but it’s not a place where you spend a lot of time, simply park, jump out of the car, take photos and leave.. so if you wait long enough you’ll find a spot to park. You’ll notice this is a popular spot for all those Hollywood tour buses to stop as well. A little secret for the adventurers .. hop off the stairs and follow the trail through the bushes.. you’ll see a metal cage with equipment in it, walk pass and there you’ll have a private view point. 😉

Nestled in the enchanting Hollywood Hills, the Hollywood Bowl is a historic amphitheater that has been captivating audiences since 1922. With its stunning natural acoustics and picturesque surroundings, this iconic venue can accommodate up to 18,000 guests who flock here each summer for an array of performances spanning every musical genre. From classical concerts by the Los Angeles Philharmonic to lively comedy shows and spectacular annual events like the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, there's something for everyone at this beloved hotspot.
The best concert venue in the world. I love love this place. I’ve been there for many concerts, and I always enjoyed my time there. It’s wonderful. Beyond amazing. I love to go there for summer nights. And for the parking spot, the best thing to do is to reserve your spot in two days before the concert and when you arrive you are secure. Summer is so fabulous in Hollywood bowl.

Beautiful venue to see a show and enjoy a picnic outdoors on a warm summery evening with friends. Almost every seat is a good seat. We have a box and it's tight but but we always have a great time and often, we are not familiar with the artist performing which doesn't matter as it is such a great venue to enjoy.

The Hollywood Bowl is amazing. I live in San Diego but I come up frequently. One reason is because of the freedom. There are venues in San Diego that will check every orifice of your body to make sure you don't bring in anything they could possibly sell you. The Hollywood Bowl is just the opposite. You can bring your food, your wine, your picnic baskets, and have a really good time. They also have a wide variety of food on premises so you have choices. I love that! The shows have been amazing. I hope this is me and you never changes and never goes away.

Enjoyed many summer concerts and shows here. It is always a fun venue for a performance and if you plan well , you can enjoy a picnic or a meal ahead of the show. A great way to enjoy some fabulous acts in a beautiful location.

I love the Hollywood bowl..cool venue! Buuut...parking is 👎, this is why park and ride bus trips are the best! And the ability to bring food and drinks is great. Lots of hills ( if you have mobility issues or hard time walking,it might be challenging) in all cool place to see a concert!

Fantastic time. No wait phenomenal staff and ushers. Great views everywhere like a night with 10,000 old friends. Ate too much drank too much but never inhaled. Lost my battery and my wife lost her drivers license! Super great time. Danced all night with Earth Wind and Fire. But, No Rain. Huge fantastic in your face fireworks we could smell and wore sunglasses. Got her home safe. Hit Hollywood Blvd for crazy good time; Stopped for fries on the way out.

So, I’ve been going to the Hollywood Bowl now, with my parents as a child, or myself with friends/SO for THIRTY FIVE years. Yes. That is correct. A long, long time. I have seen nothing here but the Best of the Best. Mainly classical concerts (that’s what my parents love) and a whole number of other phenomenal acts. Tonight, we saw Air. The French band. Who literally BRANG IT, omg!!!! By far the Best show I’ve seen at the Bowl, in all my years (easily 100+ concerts at the Nowl—there was a time in my life when I was seeing 50+ live bands a year) and not only is the venue nothing short of INCREDIBLE, but omfg, AIR. That was OUT OF CONTROL awesome!!! With the Orcheststra?! Are you kidding me. Best live concert I’ve been to in 15 yrs. Hands down. And BEST I’ve seen at H’wood bowl, EVER. That how good it was. You really get how HARD the h’wood bowl tries and effort they put into an INCREDIBLE SHOW. Period. Worth every penny and then some. Thank you, Air! Thank you, Hollywood Bowl!!!!

The large and brightly-lit installation of restored iron street lamps at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is a popular photo destination with locals and tourists alike. At night, the rows of lamps create an impressive backdrop for photos, while during the day it's an attractive modern landscape that's popular for Instagramming.
What an absolutely magical experience! Urban Light is one of those places that feels iconic yet intimate, no matter how many people are there snapping photos. Wandering through the rows of vintage streetlamps at night, everything feels a little dreamy, a little cinematic — like you’ve stepped into a movie set under the California stars. It’s beautifully maintained, well-lit (obviously!), and offers so many perfect photo spots. Whether you’re visiting for the art, the vibe, or just a memorable stroll, this installation is worth the stop. I’d definitely come back — maybe even just to stand under the lights and soak in the beauty again. ✨🌴📸

The two other times I've been here, have been during the day time. I love it even more at night. Right now there's a bit of road construction up front, but there's some street parking available. Perfect to visit after a certain time at night aka free parking. Worth a visit!

Urban Light at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is an enchanting and unforgettable experience that beautifully blends art, history, and modern urban aesthetics. Composed of 202 restored cast-iron street lamps from the 1920s and 1930s, the installation is both striking and whimsical, transforming a simple outdoor space into a luminous wonderland. Visiting Urban Light is magical, especially at dusk or after dark when the lamps glow warmly, creating a serene and almost dreamlike atmosphere. The arrangement invites exploration, photography, and quiet contemplation, making it a favorite spot for visitors of all ages. Beyond its visual appeal, the installation also tells a story of Los Angeles’ urban history and artistic heritage, highlighting the city’s evolution and creativity. Urban Light is more than just an art installation—it’s an iconic landmark and a symbol of beauty, innovation, and imagination. A visit here leaves you inspired, uplifted, and eager to return again and again.

Urban Light at LACMA is one of the most iconic spots in LA. With 202 restored vintage street lamps lined up in perfect rows, it feels like walking through a glowing outdoor museum. By day, it’s striking and elegant; by night, when the lamps light up, it turns into pure magic—romantic, cinematic, and unforgettable. The best part? It’s free, open 24/7, and perfect for photos. It does get crowded at peak times, but if you visit late in the evening or early in the morning, you can enjoy the beauty in peace. Me and my two friends visited for the first time at night, and it was an amazing experience. We hope to visit a couple more times in the future. A must-see for locals and visitors alike.

Ascot Hills Park in El Sereno offers a serene urban escape with its rolling hills, hiking trails, and a small amphitheater. It provides breathtaking views of Downtown LA and the surrounding hills without requiring a long journey. The park is less crowded than other Los Angeles hiking spots, making it an ideal destination for those seeking peaceful mountain vibes and beautiful sunset views. With multiple trail options featuring moderate inclines and vibrant wildflowers, visitors can enjoy a leisurely hike with their leashed dogs.
A decent spot for kite flying if the winds are just right. There's a short cut (hole in the fence) that leads you to the bottom of the steep uphill climb. The view at the top is nice.
Wanda C — Google review
A Lively Trail Experience with Blooming Flowers and Wildlife Right now, all the trails in this area are bursting with vibrant blooms, making it a perfect time to visit. While some parts of the trail can be quite steep, there are also easier, less inclined paths available for a more relaxed hike. If you look closely along the way, you’ll spot plenty of milk snails — charming little creatures besides birds, bees and other little species. Interestingly, they are not native to the U.S., but originally come from parts of the Mediterranean. Introduced to the U.S. in the early 20th century, they have since multiplied rapidly and are now considered an invasive species that can pose a threat to native plants and agriculture. The trails are spacious and dog-friendly, but visitors are expected to be respectful by cleaning up after their pets. On hot days, however, it’s best to leave your dog at home, as the heated surfaces may harm their paws. You might want to look into this further for your pet’s safety. Parking: One of the biggest perks of this location is the abundance of free parking, a major plus! I noticed signage indicating the possible presence of coyotes in the area. To increase your chances of spotting one, consider arriving early in the morning when the trails are quieter. I did not see them this time.
Cody T — Google review
A beautiful serene place with different trails (narrow and wide). If water fountains can be fixed, it'd be great. Hint: To enjoy this hidden gem, you need to walk quietly and listen to the nature around you. There is no need for loud music or a big topic chatting with your company:) Keep it serene, and you'll feel its magic and pure nature connection.

You have to walk at least a few miles to get here since there is no parking at all nearby. It still used to be a cool spot to check out when hiking in Portugese Bend Reserve, but now the City put up fences to restrict access to the views. I can understand putting up fences to prevent people from falling off the cliffs, but at least put them near the cliffs. The City put the fences so far back from the cliffs that you can't actually see any of the views from behind them. You have to climb over the fence to see the views, which defeats the purpose. The last time I was there, a guy from the City came by to yell at us for climbing over the fence and threatened to ticket us next time. Overall, this is just poor execution by the City to ruin a formerly nice lookout spot.

The California Science Center is such a fun and inspiring place to visit! From interactive exhibits to hands-on learning, there’s something for all ages. The Space Shuttle Endeavour is a must-see—truly an unforgettable experience. The exhibits are well-designed, staff is friendly, and admission is free (with some special exhibits ticketed). A perfect spot for families, kids, or anyone curious about science and space. Highly recommend spending a few hours here! Highly recommend if you’re around the area and you have kids.

We enjoyed our visit to the California Science Center, but it definitely had some highs and lows. The biggest downside was that many parts of the exhibits were closed or under renovation, which made the experience feel a bit unfinished. On the plus side, the aquarium section was nice, and the exhibits that were open kept the kids entertained and curious. There’s a new construction area in progress that looks like it’s going to be amazing once complete—but in the meantime, the center really needs to focus on updating and maintaining the existing spaces. The facility started off quiet in the morning, which was great, but it became very busy as the day went on. We grabbed a snack at the café, which was surprisingly good, though the eating area itself could use more attention—it had cobwebs and dirty walls that took away from the experience. Overall, it’s a good place to visit, especially with kids, but right now it feels more like a work in progress.

Love this place! They take donations, other than parking, the place is free to visit. There are extra activities that charge such as the IMAX theater, space simulator, rock wall and hurricane tunnel simulator. They have space exhibits, tons of interactive areas, an aquarium and sports building. It wasn’t very crowded. The kids and I really enjoyed it. We touched some starfish, a wall of ice, played with some interactive exhibits. There’s a food court on the first floor, a rose garden and several other museums right outside of the science center. We were there for several hours and did not get a chance to see everything.
Liz M — Google review
Had a short, but great time visiting with mom after some years. Her walking & patience isn't the same, but I made sure to visit my fav, the Eco System. I got to touch starfish and learn the many types and colors they had there and see urchins and jelly fish. Looked like schools were visiting this day as it got crowded in some sections. It's a good place to visit and stay cool while looking at new and old displays. The store at the entrance has jewelry, clothes, puzzles, many more items at fair prices. I highly recommend taking a trip, it's free with paid lot that is shared for the other museums.
Irma S — Google review
Can’t believe admission is free! The California Science Center is such a gem. While a few exhibits are a little bit dated, everything is very well maintained and in great condition. We went first thing on a Saturday and it wasn’t overly crowded, which made it easy to enjoy. There was plenty to keep our toddler engaged and entertained. Overall, really well done and absolutely worth a visit!
Vivian W — Google review
big museum with tons of interactive displays and different exhibit rooms. i especially loved the fish tanks and the touch tank outside. there was also a fun room where you played with ping pong balls. i didn’t go to their current exhibit but it was still enough to do then i got cookies in the cafe. the only downside is swarms of kids everywhere bc of field trips but not too bad. i also liked the fire safety exhibit with the fake apartment. admission is free which makes this an easy five stars.

I totally loved being here with my kids and other family members. It's a great atmosphere. A lot to learn. It reminds you how everything has evolutionized throughout the years. Super interesting. Loved it!! Free entrance. 😍
Claudia S — Google review
Admission to the Science Center is free! This area of Los Angeles is very safe during the day, especially when large school groups are visiting the Science Center. The Science Center focuses on Air and Space as well as Ecosystems. The anchor of the Air and Space Exhibit is the Space Shuttle Endeavor. The Center is creating a new display for the Endeavor and solid rocket boosters. Seeing Endeavor up close and speaking to former engineers who build and designed her is an amazing experience. The Ecosystems displays are interactive and fantastic for children of all ages, even if you are 91 years old. Plan to watch one of the IMAX movies on the screen that is seven floors tall! The selection is extensive, the seats very comfortable, and accommodations have been made for handicap access. Plan to spend at least 4 hours hear. When we come with our family, we spend the whole day. There are tasty choices for food and drink, or enjoy the inside and outdoor tables when you bring your own lunch. I highly recommend a visit.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is a renowned 20-acre campus in Miracle Mile, established in 1965. It houses an extensive collection of over 152,000 artworks and features diverse exhibitions. One of its most famous attractions is the Urban Light installation by Chris Burden, consisting of 202 cast-iron street lamps that have become an iconic symbol of the city.
I love visiting the lights at night and seeing the sphere all lit up in the different colors. This is A definite must see location. Add this spot to your list of stops when coming to California. You have the Lacma on one side of the road then the Berlin wall monument on the other with the car museum as well. I'm excited for the new addition to the museum and also the metro station to open up soon. I hope you have the same amount of fun as we did and still do.
Rosie L — Google review
Nice installations. You’ll love it if you loeve modern art. Free for LA county residences after 3pm. Labels are informative. Easier to get in book earlier online. However there’s the lights and the floating rock to see outside. They also do scheduled free tours. Parking ticket was $23 flat rate.
Dominique A — Google review
Nice art here! It's free for BoA credit card holder on the first weekend of every month, otherwise, the general admission fee is around $28, the parking flat is $23. The collections were amazing, I enjoy the Picasso art works, Buddha are collections and modern art! You can spend almost half day here, super fun. If you just passby, don't miss the outdoor public art, "Urban Light" and "Levitated Mass", they are perfect spot for photos~

We want to visiting the place at night and seeing the sphere all lit up in the different colors. But saw in day time. Still must visit place if time permit abt 3 hrs. This is A definite must see location. Add this spot to your list of stops when coming to California, Hollywood area. You have the Lacma on one side of the road then the Berlin wall monument on the other with the car museum as well. Light refreshment available on pay. Seating arrangement in entry well maintained.

If you’re a fan of modern and contemporary art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is something you can’t miss. The Urban Light installation is one of one of the most recognizable landmarks in Los Angeles which is located at the front of the museum. Inside the museum the galleries are captivating and wide ranging. It’s not the most extensive collection of art, but we did take a few hours to get through everything.
Tim L — Google review
It’s been a minute since I’ve been to LACMA, and even with continuous improvements and renovations, the museum still feels new, open, accessible, and most of all, soooo inspiring and interesting! New (and older) exhibits still feel fresh mostly due to the expansive feeling of each gallery, always giving the art (and guests!) some space to breathe and enjoy the atmosphere and experience. Out of town visitors and locals alike will enjoy the day at LACMA!
Michael K — Google review
There’s a Central America exhibit, Buddhist art exhibit, and plenty of modern art. There’re work being done in the second level and some on the first. The Japanese panel building is also under renovation. The movie museum is closed on the free Tuesday for county folks. Parking is 23 so not bad for a free day visit. The tar pits is also under construction. Saw two buildings now during summer so not bad if you come in a group. Don’t think I’d pay 28/person for what’s on offer, especially with so many exhibits closed. Finally good to see some visual virtual pieces which is already very common in Asia.
Owen — Google review
Excellent selection and exhibits. I honestly thought this museum was going to be mid compared to other art museums in the world, but it had a good variety and showcased great pieces of art. We went on a weekday at 4 pm and it wasn't crowded at all. It was one of the highlights of our trip 😊

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, located in the historic Exposition Park, is a captivating destination for visitors of all ages. With over 35 million artifacts including T. rex skeletons and an insect zoo, the museum offers a diverse range of exhibits showcasing animals, ecosystems, fossils, precious gems, and more. The museum also features the impressive Becoming Los Angeles exhibition that delves into the city's growth over five centuries.
Great children friendly activity! We got tickets same day for general admission and the butterfly pavilion experience. Children under 3 come in complimentary with adults. At this time, the general admission is $18 per person and the butterfly experience was $10 per person (no cost for children under 3 as well). We were there for about 2.5 hours and covered the first floor with our toddler wandering around and enjoying herself. The butterfly experience is 30 minutes and there's a ramp from the outside of the 1st floor to the ground level. We saw multiple butterflies landing on guests and one landed on my daughter as well. I have not seen this volume of butterflies in one place ever, it was fantastic! We saw some caterpillars in various stages as well. I would come back in the future to see the other exhibits!
Melissa N — Google review
A very enjoyable musuem. The exhibits are really good, especially the dinosaur fossils. Admission is $18 dollars for an adult. They had a special cat exhibit I was looking forward to see, but it was an EXTRA $12 on top of regular admission. The special exhibit was small and the extra fee seemed exorbitant.
Shannon L — Google review
My wife and I went for the Cat exhibit. It was great! We were the second family in the Museum and the first in the Cat exhibit. We walked in right at opening at 930 AM. When it starts to get crowded many people/kids crowd the interactive components of most of the exhibits so we always try to go when it opens.

So fun. This is what a museum of natural history should feel like. It's an amazing blend of classic architecture, outdoor exhibitions, modern new galleries and spectacular displays + interactive elements. We had a wonderful time and greatly enjoyed our afternoon.
Sirena D — Google review
The Natural History Museum is absolutely incredible truly a must-visit in Los Angeles! The building is massive, with endless exhibits that could easily take 3–4 hours to explore. From fascinating dinosaur fossils to sparkling gems and interactive displays, there’s something for all ages. My younger grandchildren were captivated from start to finish. Admission is $18, but teachers, military personnel, and EBT cardholders can enjoy free entry an amazing perk! Even better, it’s only a quick 2-minute walk from the California Science Center. I parked at the Science Center for $20 and was able to enjoy both museums in the same day. The museum is beautifully curated, educational, and exciting it’s the kind of place where you’ll discover something new every time you visit. A perfect destination for families, history lovers, and anyone who enjoys exploring the wonders of our world!
Saramay B — Google review
It was great. Most of the exhibits were nice and though I don't believe in evolution they were very informative and enjoyable to look at. Do NOT use the elevator that says it can only hold two people. It's by the mammal bones exhibit. It's creaky, groany, very slow, cannot hold its manufacturer spec of 8 people, and sounds like it's going to break. I don't know why it's still in service but I didn't like it. Use the one in the dino exhibit.
Francis C — Google review
I love exploring the Natural History Museum Los Angeles County since it was built in 1913. I like learning the history facts about dinosaurs, ice age mammals, and going through the halls of African mammals. Seeing the animals would be my favorite parts as well as the North American animals. What I like about this museum is that several movies were filmed here like Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971), Vibes (1988), Pretty Woman (1990) for the opera scene, The Pagemaster for the library (1994), Spider-Man (2002), A Lot Like Love (2005), School for Scoundrels (2006), Honda "Matthew Broderick's Day Off" Commercial, Machine Gun Kelly's music video for "Vampire Diaries", and Sheryl Crow's 1996 music video "If It Makes You Happy."

Such a fun place to come! Perfect for a trip with family, a date or a solo outing! I didn’t buy tickets prior, and didn’t have an issue buying them once I arrived. I would assume if you’re coming on a weekend, it would be much easier to buy tickets ahead of time.

Malibu Pier, an iconic structure dating back to 1905, is located next to the beach and offers a variety of attractions. The area has historical significance, with evidence of Chumash settlement dating back 7000 years. The pier's proximity to Los Angeles studios has made it a popular filming location for movies, TV shows, and music videos. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the pier while taking in views of the cliffs and luxurious homes.
Super rad place. Parking is tough depending on the season and time if day. The parking lots close after sunset i think, so assure your vehicle is moved should you park there. Surf is usually pretty clean. Lots of large rocks, so use caution. On higher tides you are able to skimboard there, which is super dope. Usually pretty packed with beach goers and surfers. But still a great and welcoming vibe. Don't forget to take all your trash off the beach when you're done!

Beautiful iconic malibu pier. It was very beautiful quiet, peaceful. We enjoyed amazing sunset. I wouldn't recommend anyone on wheelchair, walker or anyone on high heel because pier floor is not even. We witnessed one lady fell and broke her frant tooth. So very carefully.
Sophia R — Google review
Iconic spot in Malibu. We walked the pier and then along the shoreline. We watched all the surfers try to catch some waves. I is a beautiful way to spend an evening. We did see some of the carnage from the wildfires driving to the pier but its been cleaned up well for the most part.
END A — Google review
Good to walk on out to see the beach activity, the wooden walk is kind of bumpy. When I walked there the 2 restaurants at the end of the pier were closed. There were a lot of fishing along the pier but no activity. I did not know they caught any. But it is nice sunny and breezy and nice views.
Somkietr R — Google review
It's only been a little over six months since the wildfires in January 2025, but the sight of burned houses in Malibu was heartbreaking, in stark contrast to the beautiful ocean. I hope that one day, homes will be built where everyone can live in peace, just like the beautiful ocean. Many surfers and families were enjoying the summer at the beautiful Malibu Beach. With uniformly high waves, it must be a recommended spot for surfers. There was also a delicious restaurant at the pier, so we enjoyed the beautiful ocean and a meal
T M — Google review
I went there on Sunday 7/27/25 afternoon. Pier was not full and restaurants were open but not the one at the very end. There was a sign saying there will be a live music session next weekend. There was a significant line of people waiting to be seated on the patio at the Malibu Farm Restaurant. I haven’t tried the food there but seeing people waiting makes me want to eat there for sure. You can fish from the pier and the views are amazing. No cover to walk on the pier.
Ricardo R — Google review
A lot of vendors. Classic car show. There was a loud mouth preaching the Bible on a loud speaker. Probably could have done without that. Beautiful day. Everyone was playing nice.

Always beautiful. Malibu Farm Cafe has great coffee plus if you buy something you can use the bathroom and not have to use the disgusting public bathroom in the lot. It is also $15 to park in the lot though.

Pasadena City Hall, a stunning architectural masterpiece completed in 1927, showcases the Renaissance-style design and serves as the administrative hub of the city. This iconic structure is a testament to the City Beautiful movement, reflecting grandeur and beautification in urban planning. Designed by Bakewell and Brown, it seamlessly blends Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles. The prominent circular tower at the entrance sets an impressive tone for visitors.
If you're reading this review, maybe you're considering Pasadena City Hall for an engagement or pre-wedding photoshoot. Well, you're looking at a great spot! Its stunning architecture provides a timeless and elegant backdrop for any shoot. As a wedding photographer and videographer, I've had the privilege of coming here many times to capture beautiful moments. My wife and I are a husband-and-wife team, and when we got married, we actually did our engagement shoot here, too! One couple we worked with had their first look here in the morning on their wedding day, and there were plenty of private areas to exchange their private vows. Other times, we've come here for pre-wedding/engagement shoots, and every time, we find creative ways to utilize the variety of areas here -- there are so many options! One thing that stands out is the garden and fountain in the center, surrounded by majestic pillars. The steps are also wide and long, which makes for some intimate yet grand drone footage (for both photo and video). Parking is very easy to find, just outside the venue. On some days, there might be multiple shoots happening, but it hasn't been an issue for us before to avoid any groups of people. Clearly, we love this venue, as we've gotten our own photoshoot done here for our wedding, but even from a professional photographer/videographer's perspective, you can't go wrong with having your shoot here! Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pasadena City Hall Pasadena City Hall is a masterpiece. With its grand architecture, soaring arches, and elegant details, it feels cinematic — like something out of a classic film. Weddings and engagement sessions here are always timeless, and the light that pours into the courtyard makes portraits feel luminous and refined. It’s an iconic backdrop that gives couples a gallery full of sophistication and style. ✨ If Pasadena City Hall is your dream wedding location, I’d love to create timeless, elegant photographs to match its beauty.
Drew P — Google review
This is an ICONIC building here in our city, so I'll try to do it justice with an AI-slop-free review. I have lived here in Pasadena since mid 2022 and I've had the pleasure of driving by and even occasionally visit this monument to good Mediterranean Revival architecture (I did have to look that up, I admit, lol). This famed City Hall has been in Parks And Recreation (unpopular opinion: both The Office and Parks & Rec were made by the same team, but Parks & Rec is the superior sitcom), Big Bang Theory, and Parenthood. There's a large water fountain once to go in. There are towers you can go up through, to be able to get a better view of the city. Nice touristy spot, even for us local that live 3 minutes away from it, lol.
Alejandro M — Google review
I recently photographed an engagement session at Pasadena City Hall, and it’s truly one of the most elegant and diverse photo locations in Los Angeles. The European-style architecture, open courtyard and gardens, and warm natural light create a timeless backdrop for engagement and wedding photography. Every corner offers a unique composition — from grand arches to quiet garden paths. It’s a place that feels both romantic and cinematic. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a photo permit to shoot here, but it’s absolutely worth it for such a stunning location.
Nemanja Z — Google review

Rosie's Dog Beach is a 4-acre off-leash beach in Belmont Shore, Long Beach, where dogs can run and play freely. This dog-friendly paradise is part of the pet-centric offerings in Long Beach, which includes pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, parks, and trails for on-leash walks. Established nearly two decades ago by Justin Rudd, founder of Haute Dogs, this non-fenced beach was officially named after Rosie the Bulldog in 2010.
Love coming to this beach! My dog loves the sand. People seem friendly and we haven’t come across any aggressive dogs. Lots of space for a dog to run and play. They also have a place you can clean your dog off after! The dog paw lifeguard station is super cute!!
Amber G — Google review
Not a bad place, paid parking but it's super close to the bar and dog beach. The food wasn't bad, the plating was beautiful. Wish the french toast were fluffy they seemed a Lil too healthy 😅. The salmon burger looked good. We went for breakfast no one was really there which is fine for us. Our dog loved it smelled everywhere had her ice cream snack with a smile. The owner super friendly.
Carla G — Google review
1 if not the best dog beach for all types of owners. Extremely large beach that has so many volleyball courts and a place you and all your loved ones can enjoy. I definitely highly recommend this place to any dog lovers owners. Update: This location has dozens of volleyball court and the parking lot is sooooo huge you can literally park anywhere. If someone's saying that you have to circle to find parking then that's just a lie, the parking can fit nearly hundreds of cars. And when we go, we dont see any poop unless you may have come across a bad area to whom I can't defend. But all in all the beach is clean everytime we went. There maybe other areas I haven't been, but we usually stay near the convenience store/drink area. So again all in all really good and clean for the most part.
Q — Google review
Cool place to take your dog to and let them run around. Be sure to pick up after your own pet. There are some dogs that don't like to be approached and having other dogs in your faces so be mindful. There's also a cafe on the beach for you and your doggo.
D L — Google review
Rosie’s Dog Beach is a wonderful time. Lots of easy parking. People with dogs are especially friendly and there are lots and lots of wet and sandy dogs having a joyous time frolicking in the waves and chasing each other. When it’s hot in LA it is deliciously cooler by the sea. Highly recommend!
Clea B — Google review
Nice beach area for the dogs. I kept my dog on a leash because I like to keep him close and he doesn't like dogs who approach too aggressively. Some owners lose track of their dogs, by allowing them to roam all over the beach. That's fine, I just would like an assist if my dog isn't "feeling" your dog. It is close to a bike trail, so if your pup is more interested in chasing than playing in the water, you might have an issue. Lots of parking in a paid lot or on the street.
Dianna L — Google review
Love to take my 2 pups to Rosie's dog beach. It is the one place I feel comfortable letting my cattle dog loose to run free. The designated area is not very long but that's okay, just having water and sand is good enough. Length about 5 football fields give or take. Bruxie is near by if your looking for a good bite to eat and dog friendly. Also have a little snack shack on Rosie's beach offering snacks for pups and food for humans too, is a bit pricey though. Parking is easy. I recommend downloading parking app Passport, alot easier than using machine to pay. Video was a pug meet up on beach.
Scott G — Google review
Enjoyable, definitely a good place to take your dog for some R&R. The beach is kind of small, but it’s big enough to let your dog run around off leash. It’s clean which I really like and are dog bags available to pick up after your dog. It required to leave your dog on a leash and until you get to the dog zone. Restrooms nearby and parking is $.50 per 15 minutes ($2 per hour).

Nestled within the California State University campus in Long Beach, the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is a serene and meticulously maintained 1.3-acre garden. Inspired by Tokyo's Imperial Gardens, it boasts meandering pathways, ponds teeming with colorful koi fish, wooden bridges, and vibrant floral arrangements. Visitors can relax on benches while taking in the tranquil atmosphere or wander through the garden's peaceful surroundings.
Wonderful, beautiful place to go. It's free, but you can make a donation. It's very tranquil and peaceful with the music and the birds chirping. You could walk around, and it would only take 30 minutes. But it is so pretty you have to sit and take in the views.

I love visiting this Japanese garden. It's so tranquil and serene and I get to visit my alma mater. Be sure to make reservations. There is a parking lot just across of the garden. Parking will depend on the amount of time to choose.
Melody T — Google review
This Japanese garden was a beauty space full of nature, color, and tranquility. It was peaceful the entire time we were here. Quiet to moderate conversations amongst guest, no obnoxious screaming or loud running, and maintenance were well kept. We got the ability to feed the koi fish and so there are many locations including bridges and small delta to the pond where you can hand feed the koi if you preferred. I was so excited to come as it was for my bday and I truly love koi fish. Outside the garden there are Japanese lanterns, restrooms, information center, and a collection of bonsai trees. We also had the ability to take home our own origami. I loved the papers they had.

This is such a cute little Japanese Garden located inside the Long Beach College. Easy to get there. I recommend you park across the entrance which is lot 4. You do need to pay as they do have the parking security check. It's $6 per hour. You will need make reservations on their website and create an account which totally free as well to go in. They do verify if you have reservations. Its well maintained. It took us about 30 minutes to see all of it but the remaining of the time we were admiring the garden, cute Koi fish and you can also feed them. You will need reservations to feed the Koi. Very peaceful and their staff is very polite. Definitely coming back.
