Bakery

Rice cake shop
Proof Bakery is a cozy cafe and bakery located in the charming Atwater Village neighborhood. It has gained national recognition for its delectable pastries, sandwiches, cakes, and locally roasted coffee. The bakery's European-inspired offerings include sublime almond croissants, blood orange chocolate cardamom cake, seasonal galettes, and occasional surprises like black sesame financiers or empanadas.
Come before 9am if you don’t want to wait in a long line outside. The pastries are amazing. People usually get a big box of different items. They are all freshly made in the morning. The coffee is delightful as well. Only very limited seating area outside but it’s still a popular local spot. Recommended!

Lovely place. Pastries are unique, and perfectly executed. Will come back, often. The tomato basil croissant set this place aside and the corn canele left me without words. I got what i expected, excellent pastries. Well done. Coffee was very good as well. Reduced seating. Be aware. Went back and I am as astonished as I was when tried the first time. The rotation and creativity are key to this place, incomparable with any other pastry shop. The blue corn chamomile scone was pure heaven.

Proof is my favorite bakery in the world. Excellent food choices and all perfectly executed. The pastries are really on point. My absolute favorite is the salami sandwich, next is the almond financier. The almond croissant is to die for and the chocolate chip cookie is so good. Always a pleasure to stop by

Been here a few times and have always enjoyed each item ordered from here. Totally worth waiting in line for their bake goods and coffee. They have an efficient way of working to keep the flow of customers satisfied and happy, wait is usually less than 20 minutes. Have tried their chocolate croissant and coffee selection and they were all delicious! I decide to try a slice of their cake today and was debating on their blackberry pistachio cake or their passion fruit chocolate cake. The pistachio obviously won me over cause of the aesthetic appearance of the cake. the taste, 10/10. Definitely would purchase a cake here for a birthday or any celebration occasion for its unique taste and appearance. Inexpensive compared to other private own coffee shops, total for a slice and cup of 12oz iced latte was $14

Flakin' (baking pun-hee hee) ...unbelievably delicious, and exceptional! Totally reasonable prices too. I felt that there was a lot of love in the baking on. Everything was so pretty. This is a place where you can judge the book by the cover! Decisions were impossible, so all three of us bought 2 items each. The strawberry malt cake was out of the world. The lemon meringue pie slayed me. And the most excellent croissants, I've had outside of southern France. I guess you can tell I liked it. I think you'd like it too.
Pollyanne H — Google review
The pastries are reasonably good though overpriced and small. Occasionally there are some interesting seasonal flavors and pairings, like almond-cherry or matcha. Tiny torpedo sandwiches are vastly overpriced, and the bread is so hard one would need fangs to rip it apart. Coffee... It's the worst part of the joint. They rotate roasters in and out, so what you get one time likely won't be the same the next. There have been decent, albeit good days, but the vast majority of them are rot-gut, mud-cup time. Irrespective of the mind-wrenching lines, friends don't let friends go here for coffee. Worst part of the place, though, are the counter staff who routinely rush casual visitors in between snarling at them. That could explain why they hate (I mean H8T) dogs of all kinds, even smooshy, little toy guys being carried by Legally Blonde types. (I'd like to see someone do a bust on them with service animals.) If you think you've met uppity, entitled, hipster baristas on Melrose or Sunset, you'll be in for an unpleasant surprise. Feel the heat when they ratchet up the tip pressure at the register after the scorn.
John E — Google review
Proof has established itself as one of the best bakeries in LA. Not only that I love that it is a cooperative. It goes without saying that their croissant and other pastries easily rival that of other celebrated places like Fondry and CAR. The real hidden secret though are the cakes. I have long lusted after them but not had an excuse to buy one. I bought a chocolate passion fruit cake for my wife's birthday and it was absolutely phenomenal. Beautiful and simple presentation with fresh flowers, perfect finish and most importantly stellar flavours. Not too sweet, not too bitter, not too rich but also very moist. Try the cakes, you won't be disappointed!

Proof bakery is one of the best in Los Angeles. It’s a great place to bring friends, family and people visiting from out of town. I love chocolate croissant and always get one when I can. The staff is very welcoming and friendly.

Nestled within a gas station, Zooies is an unexpected gem for cookie enthusiasts. This unique spot, run by Arezou Appel—a chiropractor and herbologist—offers hand-crafted cookies that are simply irresistible. Known for their generous size and delightful flavors, these treats have garnered attention as some of the best in Los Angeles. Families flock to Zooies, with kids eagerly anticipating their next favorite flavor; it's become a beloved destination in the area.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Zooies Cookies is a hidden gem that absolutely deserves more locations! Their cookies are unbelievably delicious—soft, chewy, and packed with unique flavors that make every bite a delight. It’s the kind of place you crave after just one visit. Zooies needs to open more locations so everyone can experience these amazing cookies! So lucky to live close by and soooo many choices to chose from😋😋🤨

When someone tells you a cookie is one of LA’s most beloved chocolate chip cookies, you better believe I marched in like a full-on food critic, armed with sky-high expectations and a very judgmental sweet tooth. And let me tell you—I got absolutely wrecked in the best way possible. That chocolate chip cookie didn’t just impress me. It took me on a first-class trip to a brown butter day spa where every bite was gooey, buttery, crunchy-edged bliss. I’m talking close-your-eyes-and-hum-a-little bliss. But wait—it gets even better. The brownie? Illegal levels of gooey, with the perfect hit of sweetness that makes you question every other brownie you’ve ever loved. The carrot cake cookie? A sweet-sour flavor bomb that had me giggling uncontrollably like a toddler on a sugar rush. Even my dog—who usually treats carrots like enemy vegetables—devoured her carrot cookie like she was starring in her own cooking show finale. Honestly, if teleportation were a thing, we’d already be back there. In fact, if you see a cookie-shaped blur whizzing past you… that’s just me.
Vu N — Google review
Only having one outlet in LA makes Zooies kinda standout to me especially knowing they’re pretty popular. Beyond that obviously the fact that it’s located in a gas station. Won’t complain though as it’s killing two birds with one stone, getting your car fueled and so do you. The variety of flavors are huge, feels like it can serve any kind of preferences. Their classic top 3 however stays strong as the must-try I think, the Gooey, the Chewie and just the basic chocolate chip. I did try the Cloud 9, Strawberry Cheesecake, Panda, and some more before but finding myself still came back to those 3. They worked best for my palate both texture and flavors.
Jessica G — Google review
I had a good experience here today. I picked up some cookies and the young lady behind the counter told me to have a great rest of my day. That was really cool. She could’ve said just thank you and kept working. I appreciate that it made my day. These are the type of things that keeps your business thriving
Divinity P — Google review
I never would have guessed that some of the best cookies that I’ve had in LA are in a small gas station in the Palms district. I’m not a fan of Crumbl at all and thankfully these cookies are nothing like that. They are soft but not cakey soft and are packed with flavor. They have at least 20 different flavor options so it’s easy to try something new each visit. Pricing is fair and service was very fast. When we arrived there were 4 people in front of us and 3 behind us so the secret is out on these bomb cookies. Parking can be a little tricky when the gas station is busy, but they do have a at least 6 spots on the north side of the station. Inside looks like what you would expect, a full service gas station but in one corner is Zooies and is run by their own employees. For my first visit I tried the Birthday Cake, Salted Caramel, and the S’mores and loved each of them. I would honestly get each of them again and already plan to be back in the near future to try more flavors.
Zan L — Google review
Get a cookie with your gas why don’t ya. This is a genius concept. Wish there were more Zooies around. Like at a laundromat, liquor store, check cashing place…church. They have immense options…you will stare for minutes. Vegan chocolate chip was the best for me.
Happy — Google review
Amazing homemade cookies from a bakery within a gas station. About 100 varieties, including several scrumptious gluten-free and vegan options. Arguably the best in LA.
Robert P — Google review
The greatest cookies I’ve ever had and it’s setup at a gas station! Amazing cookies and the selection is way more than expected. I had the walnut gooie, cloud 9, the chunkie and the chocolate oatie. All four were delicious and had its own distinctive style. They lived up to the “gooie” expectation and were really filling. I think two cookies were enough to get me good & the others were extra credit. Load up on napkins and the customer service was great. Just be aware the gas station didn’t have whole milk, just 2% but all the cookies were still phenomenal by themselves. I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items.

République Café Bakery & République Restaurant is a trendy spot that offers modern French cuisine in a beautiful setting with communal tables. The restaurant, located in a historic building, pays homage to its former residents and provides exceptional service and an inviting atmosphere. The menu features mostly French dishes with influences from Asian, American, and Italian cuisines. Indulgent ingredients like butter, sugar, cream, nuts, carbs, fat, and sauces are used generously in their dishes.
No wonder this place is one of the most popular spots in all of LA. During the day they operate as a cafe and amazing brunch spot, and in the evening become a fancy dinner restaurant. The bakery selection is incredible, and everything looks so good. They also have a regular menu with food and drink options. The interior is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, grand architecture and plenty of space in a bustling environment. Despite the chaos they keep things very efficient and operating smoothly. The food was wonderful, everything we got was delicious. Definitely worth checking out, be sure to go early to avoid a long wait time.
Shawn S — Google review
We've been wanting to try this place for some time, but finally got her today. We parked in the valet (as there was no street parking) and went in. The entry area is small and we were there at 11:30am and most of the pastries were sold out. (get there early for the full selection) We studied the menu and ordered a couple of pasteries first. That is how it works, you order your pastry selections from the case, while waiting in line for the cashier to take your food order. We ordered a donut hole-like item that had a cream filling and a Passion Fruit cream cake. For our food, we ordered a Cuban Sandwich and the Adobo Pork Fried Rice. My wife ordered a cafe mocha and I appreciated that my iced tea was with bergamot. We took our table number (which was an old beat up tin cup - kind of fun) and found a table. We were seated right at the indoor archways to the back dining room. I enjoyed looking at the classic cathederal-like architecture while dining. Our food came and it was really good. I had the Cuban Sandwich and it was probably the best I've every had. My wife enjoyed her fried rice, but we both loved my salad that came with the sandwich. It was the best thing in the meal! It was simple butter lettuce, but the home made dressing was unbelievably good, with fresh herbs. We also enjoyed the desserts we ordered, but I was more impressed with the lunch items. That said the cream pie was tasty. We will be back as there are so many more dishes I'd like to try.

République is one of the finest dining experiences in Los Angeles, perfect for a romantic dinner, an important business meeting, or simply a night when you want everything to feel special. The historic space with its high ceilings and grand arches gives the evening a sense of occasion, and the mix of regulars, date-night couples, and Hollywood insiders makes every visit feel like an event. Chefs Walter and Margarita Manzke are the heart of it all. Walter brings world-class technique to savory dishes, while Margarita, a James Beard Award winning pastry chef, creates breads and desserts that have become iconic in their own right. Together they deliver a menu that is ambitious, polished, and deeply satisfying. Signature dishes like the tuna toast show how simple flavors can be transformed into something memorable, while steaks cooked over the wood fire are among the very best in the city, with rich smoky flavor and a perfect char. Seasonal pastas, seafood, and inventive small plates round out a menu that never disappoints. Service is attentive from start to finish, and the front desk team, especially Sade and Azari, are excellent at setting the tone with a warm welcome and smooth flow to the evening. République remains a must in Los Angeles, where every dinner feels like the kind of night you want to repeat again and again.

You got to try their food to be honest. It’s just tasty and we went for breakfast. Avocado toast with scrambled egg on side and the egg Benedict with salmon (which was delicious). We came early morning which I would recommend to avoid the crowds which they got busy quickly. Note: it’s a bit pricy in my opinion but worth every dollars
Mohamed A — Google review
This was my first time visiting here. We decided to come here for a team dinner after a work event based on the recommendation of one of our colleagues. It was well worth the experience. The food was delicious, and everyone seemed to enjoy the variety of dishes that we ordered. I will say that it was my first time having a dish with white truffles — it wasn’t my favorite dish of the evening, even though everyone else seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area.
Kent B — Google review
I left a bit disappointed. I came in with high expectations for the pastries—especially the croissants—but they fell short for me. I’ve been to many bakeries with a wider variety (think pistachio, Nutella, etc.), larger size, and similar pricing. The quality didn’t quite match what I was hoping for, especially considering the cost. That said, the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The indoor seating genuinely feels like you're sitting in a European café, which I loved. The coffee was excellent, and the savory dishes were delicious—just keep in mind they are very pricey. For reference, two pastries, two coffees, and two main dishes came out to $115 including tip. Definitely on the higher end. Overall, I’m glad I tried it and it was a nice experience, but I’m not sure I’d return—at least not for the pastries. If you’re looking for a great croissant, this wouldn’t be my first choice right now. But for ambiance and coffee, it’s worth experiencing at least once.
Joaquín M — Google review
A gem of a café–bakery. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed — perfect for working on a laptop or meeting with friends. The pastries are incredibly special - not the typical bakery items you find everywhere else. Everything looks like it came out of a boutique bakery, and tastes even better. Combine that with high-quality coffee and genuine hospitality, and you’ve got a spot worth visiting again and again.
Jude B — Google review
Dining here is all about the ingredients, meticulously sourced and skillfully prepared. On a busy Friday night, the accommodation for a non-reservation was the first hint of the exceptional service to come. I was seated beneath the glass-paneled roof with sunset light fading above me. It felt like Europe. The service is a benchmark of excellence: attentive, communicative, polite. The corn beignet arrives looking like something too precious to eat, literally served on a silver platter, but you’ll devour it in one bite, maybe two. The oysters are next, clean, cool, briny, and balanced by the acidity of the mignonette. Then there’s the endive salad, precision, thoughtful composition with each element intentional. The corn agnolotti is tender pasta pillows bathed in rich brown butter, then crowned tableside with a drizzle of cherry balsamic. For my main, the duck offers varied textures from different cuts, each bite elevated by the blackberry peppercorn jus. The fries, yes, fries, deserve their moment: hot, crisp, herby. For dessert, the reimagined crème brûlée with tropical notes of mango and pandan layered under that crackled top. République knows what it’s doing. Every moment considered. Every plate thoughtful. This is L.A. dining at its peak, proving that the best dining experiences don’t need the beach surrounded by the sound of crashing waves or the sight of swaying palm trees.

Friends & Family is a charming seasonal café and bakery located in East Hollywood. Run by Pastry Chef/Baker Roxana Jullapat and Chef Daniel Mattern, this all-day cafe offers thoughtfully sourced produce and artisanal bread. The café features a beautiful display of pastries, including buttery pistachio croissants, savory white cheddar biscuits, and danishes filled with fresh fruit from the farmers market.
The whole wheat is excellent. Was worried it was using whole wheat flour, but was amazed at the contrast between the ultra crisp flakes on the outside, and the more toothsome fluffy inside. It’s not the same as a typical croissant, but a fine one indeed. Blue corn scone was nice and not too sweet.

Friends & Family is absolutely fantastic! Any item on menu is the best! This place is a perfect spot for a weekend treat. Atmosphere and patrons are cool and fun.

Heard so much about pastry from this place so I was expecting to see various types of pastry here. Unfortunately, not much of pastry in the store. I really wanted to try pistachio croissant and they didn’t have it so I ended up getting raspberry fairy instead. It was good but not that great. Came here for pastry but I was impressed by their pork breakfast burrito. One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had in my life! No hot sauce needed just well seasoned pork, cheese, and eggs. Pork was juicy and tender while salsa gave you a refreshing taste in one bite. Very tasty and fulfilling. My cappuccino was decent. Surprisingly, I enjoyed savory food more than their pastry here.
Aornchuma J — Google review
The croissants were really good and likely taste even better fresh out of the oven. The Halva croissant was unique and very good. The cold brew was good as well, not too too strong and the staff were even mindful not to fill it up all the way as they knew I’d take mine black without cream and sugar. Just a nice attention to detail from the staff that I appreciated.
Michael M — Google review
I discovered this place originally through uber eats, but it was so good that I had to see what they were doing in person! My original order via delivery was an avocado toast, olive oil fried eggs and an iced coffee. In person, I reordered the olive fried egg which includes olive bread and they knocked it out the park again—absolutely delicious! I also tried their cold brew this time and like that much better than their iced coffee. The restaurant has a cute hipster aesthetic with a small shoppable area selling nice elevated flour to purchase for those who bake!

Ordered Macro bowl salad, they served almost rotten salad and rice. I ordered the salad in the morning too, it was probably refrigerated for couple days, it smelled bad but I was so hungry in the morning I tried to eat it either way since I have already paid 20 bucks for it. Couldn't eat half of it,it was that bad, pictures doesn't do justice, the avocados were literally turned black rotting. The only thing was good was boiled egg and that's it. However I didn't try their bakery items so I don't have any idea how is that. But wouldn't recommend anyone for any salad items.

I am obsessed with their trouble maker cookies! The vibes are good, the service is good and baked goods are fresh. Overall a great choice to hang out with friends if you are in the area
MaryTahm P — Google review
Out of all the LA bakeries that have wholesale accounts, Friends & Family is easily my favorite. Their croissants are so crunchy and hold a terrific form that immediately catch my eyes from those pastry boxes. Friends & Family has a wide selection of pastries. Besides the normal croissant variations, there are also pistachio almond croissant, sweet and savory danishes, cakes, muffins and cookies. You can also get fresh baguettes and bread loaves. The cafe has plenty of seats, and a full day time menu. I went there for lunch with a friend and had the beef short rib hash (two eggs, braised beef, yukon potato & pickled chili salsa verde) and wow it was palatable and got amazing value for basically the price of a toast in those fancy, over hyped coffee shops. That's what I really like about Friends & Family: it's pretty much a hidden gem, a down-to-earth neighborhood bakery cafe, although I think it's worth being recognized by a lot more people.

Cookie shop
Cookie Good is a small, family-owned bakery in Santa Monica known for its gourmet cookies, brownies, and bars. Run by a husband and wife team with inspiring personal stories, the shop offers a variety of unique cookie flavors inspired by favorite desserts such as New York cheesecake and sour cream coffee cake. In addition to classic options like chocolate chip, they also have gluten-free choices available.
Location is great!! We have gotten lucky to park on the street and just mosey on in. The options of cookies have been awesome, both times we have been here!! This last time we came, we ordered Snickers, Hostess Apple Pie, Caramel Pretzel Chocolate Chunk & Chewy Granola Bar!! We pretty much devoured them all!! I can’t pick a favorite because those 3 were all mine, Chewy Granola Bar, Caramel Pretzel chocolate chunk & Snickers were just me. If I go back, I’m ordering 2 of those & who know what others. My husband loved his Hostess Apple pie. The young lady gave us some banana nut brownie? They were sooo good!!! I wish it didn’t take me so long to swing by but I am now committed to stop here for my doctors appointments every year!! So sad I didn’t order a dozen!!!

It’s what cookie dreams are made of! 🍪 The menu changes every three weeks, so there’s always something new to try, though November and December feature seasonal favorites you don’t want to miss. They even have wild flavors like Sour Patch Kids and Flaming Hot Cheetos. The staples, Caramel Pretzel Chocolate Chunk and Classic Chocolate Chip, are absolutely fabulous. Definitely a spot worth visiting again and again. I make it a point to stop by at least once a month.

We just barely made it. They had been closed for about 10 min and the lady was nice enough to let us in. The selection was scarce but we were able to get some good ones. My daughter ordered the birthday cake, I had oatmeal and Lucky charms cookies. Pretty good cookies for $2.50 each. We will be back for sure to try more.

This place is incredible. The cookies are more than just food; they offer a delightful experience. I’m consistently welcomed with smiles and a positive vibe. Melanie is always so kind and ready to help. Every cookie is crafted with attention, and you can truly taste the love in them. Additionally, they are visually appealing.

Dozen assorted cookies - 5 🌟! I am on a bit of a cookie fix at the moment and ventured out to Santa Monica to sample Cookie Good. Fun store. Lots of flavors to choose from. Based on their extensive menu, it looks like they rotate the specialty flavors often. I am not ashamed to admit it only took my one day to make my way through all 12. No regrets! Each one was fresh and tasty. There was a cheeto flavored savory cookie in the mix and it reminded me of a cheddar biscuit. My favorite probably the chocolate pretzel flavor. But there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. It is a bit of a bummer they are so far away but now I have a new favorite cookie place when I make my over to Santa Monica.

Cookie Good? More like Cookie GREAT. First time at this Wilshire gem — rolled in on a Saturday afternoon, no wait, easy metered parking. Small shop, big welcome — the staff greeted me with a warm “hello” and an even warmer cookie case. I tried three flavors, and frankly, I’m in love: 🍪 Cap’n Crunch w/ Crunchberries – sweet, yellow, and corny. Just add milk! 🍪 Caramel-Pretzel-Chocolate Chunk – chewy, crunchy, salty-sweet magic. I saw the face of a caramel-covered angel. 🍪 Rhinestone Cowboy – like a bedazzled oatmeal cookie on a Vegas bender. Yes, please. Each gets a solid 5/5. Their rotating flavors feel very “Salt & Straw, but make it cookie.” I almost tried the Cheetos cookie… but even I have limits. For now. 😏

A vendor at work recently sent me a box of cookies from Cookie Good. I live in Florida and these still arrived very fresh! There was an amazing assortment, I went for the s’mores first and my wife ate the pop tart cookie. Both were delicious! Great bakery!
Troy B — Google review
Had seen the shop on TikTok around 2-3 years ago and had pinned it to my maps to go and try it out. Being from Canada, I was finally in LA to do so. And let me tell you: it did NOT disappoint. Those were some of the best cookies I've ever had. The service was also top tier, had a nice conversation with the owner who also gave me some free samples. You have to go to Cookie Good if you're in the Santa Monica are!!!

Bakery
Fat + Flour, located inside Grand Central Market, is a cozy bakery known for its seasonal pies and treats. The former pastry chef Nicole Rucker offers a limited yet exceptional selection of flavors, including the innovative Coffee Cream Pie created by baker Molly Donnellon. Other delectable options include salted caramel hand pies and key lime slices. The menu features rotating seasonal pies such as rosewater lemon meringue and Stone Fruit Party, showcasing white peaches, nectarines, and cherries.
We grabbed 2x bannana cream puddings and 1 lavender cookie. The staff on site was really friendly and you can tell this is a project of passion. The pudding was perfectly chilled, creamy, and sweet without being saccharine. If you want something to full of flavor after a nice meal this is the place. Would recommend.

Very rude counter person gave me attitude at the end of my transaction because I didn't leave a tip. Let's get real...I stood at a counter for 30 seconds, purchased a brownie in a paper bag from a clearly unhappy person. This doesn't qualify for a tip. Brownie was good though
Stephen L — Google review
This pie is just not it. For a place famous for its key lime pie, I can almost guarantee people haven't had a genuine key lime pie. The crust is just a mushy mess. It's like someone took brown sugar and just pressed it into the pan. The pie is way too bitter and the weak whipped cream doesn't hold up like a merengue or genuine cream to balance out what a key lime pie should be. The only positive here is the texture of the pie which is really nice.
Alex X — Google review
The pie was not that fresh, cookies were so-so, and the worst of all service was terrible. She’s extremely rude. Don’t recommend to come at all!
Pinn J — Google review
Brownie was good, chai latte was superb. The lady at the counter, however, was very rude :(

Amazing Key Lime Pie! Tried on our vacation and had to come back again for another round a few days later. Amazing service and a cookie to top it off! Thank you! Brilliant experience 😊

An ideal spot inside Grand Central Market to satisfy your sweet tooth especially if you love cookies like me, or rather you can opt for a pie instead. The representative working their let me know it would be the best vegan cookie I've ever had and she was right, it was baked to a fluffy and chewy consistency in the middle with a bit of crispness at the edges. The Bourbon Chocolate Pecan cookie was a winner for me. I wanted to give five stars but I feel there's more I should try to be certain I'm not basing it off one item.
Mike P — Google review
With toddler at hand looking at the cookies, I asked the lady (let's call her "Butch") if any of the cookies were regular chocolate chip since the names were a bit on the try hard creative side. Butch's reply "what you see is what I have". See the other reviews about the same lady. Her mannerisms is down right rude and miserable. Let's hope her home life improves so she can improve her attitude and improve the service given here.

Diddy Riese, located in Westwood near UCLA, is a popular veteran shop where locals and tourists alike line up for their delicious scratch-baked treats at incredibly low prices. The menu includes 50-cent cookies in 10 flavors, 75-cent fudge brownies, $2 Hawaiian shave ice, and $2.50 ice cream sandwiches. This family-owned establishment has been serving sweet treats since 1983 and is named after a beloved grandmother.
Came across this place while taking a stroll around Westwood and wow!!! This place was great! I had a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich! Ice cream was tasty and the cookies were nice and fresh. Big sandwich and the prices were very reasonable!! Took some white chocolate chip macadamia cookies to go and they were equally delicious! Will definitely return one day!

This place is cool. They bake all of their cookies in house. The cookies are bomb, but the ice cream is nothing to write home about. It’s dryers ice cream. I think if this establishment charged a higher premium and sourced locally made ice cream more people would come. There is some bar style seating inside and one bench outside. Go here for cookies, not ice cream. The staff is very friendly

Diddy Riese is a UCLA classic! They make great ice cream cookies. They let you mix and match your cookie and ice cream flavors, which is nice. The cookies are not too hard so that, when you bite, there isn't excessive smooshing of the ice cream out of the sandwich and into the cup. There is some smooshing, though. I look forward to returning to Diddy Riese so that I can try even more flavor combinations.

Iconic Westwood ice cream place that is packed with UCLA students and people from all over LA! We have been coming here multiple times, but tonight we were even greeted by a limousine bus full of high schoolers from Pennsylvania!!! The menu is extensive, but honestly you cannot go wrong with any of the ice cream or cookie choice. For cookies, We had peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin with walnuts (my favorite). For ice cream, we tried almond pistachios and mint chocolate. To be honest, the almond pistachios has a slightly too strong almond flavor and I cannot taste the pistachios. Probably will try another flavor next time. Overall, this place is delicious, extremely affordable (ask staff for the day old cookies) and always packed. They have 5 chairs at the door for seating but that’s it. It’s not a sit down restaurant.

There are 5 chairs outside so you can sit and enjoy your lovely desert dessert By the way, here you can’t pay by a card if your order is less than $5 so be ready to pay by cash

Absolutely love this place. Can you believe that you can get a dozen of tasty cookies for $5.30 nowadays? No wonder there is always a long line here. This place has been here since the 80’s. It’s not only popular with the students at UCLA but with the people all over LA who would drive more than an hour to get here for the cookies and ice cream. Although my daughter is a Trojan, she was still willing to come with us to get the cookies and ice cream with her mom to celebrate her birthday. We bought a few dozens of cookies for ourselves and to give to friends. Our favorites are the candy and white chocolate cookies. The cookies are very good to go with ice creams. we ended up with a few cups of ice creams with white chocolate chip cookies. They were so decadent and delicious. Besides the cookies, their brownies are very good too. For $1 each, it’s a steal for a good brown. I bought half a dozen to take home. Parking is easy for this place. There is a paid public parking lot right next to the shop.

Ordered 16 mini cakes from Cake Monkey Bakery for my mom’s birthday, and they were a hit! There were about 9 different flavors, and they were both adorable and delicious. Everyone was blown away by both the taste and the visuals. The customer service was top-notch. Every time I called, the staff were friendly, and the woman who helped me on pick-up day was very kind and helpful. Can’t wait to try more things from them. Cake Monkey Bakery has definitely won me over!

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but please don't make the same mistake I did. I ordered the strawberry passionfruit cakewhich to surprise my friend for her birthday, and unfortunately, it was a major letdown. There was no detectable passionfruit flavor, the strawberry cream tasted like plain pink frosting with no real flavor, and the cake itself was dry. I can’t speak to their other offerings, but I strongly advise against this particular item. It tasted more like a packaged snack cake — think zebra cake or a store-bought Twinkie — than a bakery dessert. Really disappointing.

Amazing little bakery with modern twists on classic delicious goodies as well as usual items with their own great take. I love the Cakewich, basically the modern, tastier, better quality ding ding. It’s cakey, moist, chocolatey, not too sweet, a nice fudgy coating, and perfect amount of cream filling Staff is always so kind and friendly!

Great bakery with awesome vegan options! I tried the vegan chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate strawberry cakewich. The cakewich was a bit sweeter than I usually prefer, which is the only reason why I’m giving 4 stars, but it was still really enjoyable! I warmed up the cookie and it was absolutely heavenly—soft, gooey, and perfect. Ate it all before I could even get a picture! Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for vegan treats.

Bakery
Levain Bakery in Larchmont Village has finally brought its famous cookies to Los Angeles. While the NYC bakery offers frozen cookies at select stores and online, nothing beats the experience of enjoying a warm Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie in person. Founded by Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald, who were triathlon competitors, their Chocolate Chip Cookie was originally created as a power snack. The cookies are known for being thick and slightly on the sweet side but are overall very delicious.
Levain Bakery in LA delivers the same incredible cookies as its famous NY location, and they’re absolutely worth the hype! Each cookie is thick, perfectly baked—crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, and packed with rich flavors. Whether you’re indulging in the classic chocolate chip walnut, dark chocolate peanut butter, or another delicious variety, every bite is pure heaven. The best part? You can skip the long lines by ordering online for quick pickup, making it even easier to satisfy your cookie cravings. If you love Levain in NY or just appreciate an amazing cookie, this spot is a must-try in LA!

Super cute bakery inside. I ordered the Coconut Carmel Chocolate Chip cookie. I really enjoyed the cookie. I’d say it’s more of a two person cookie, but it was DELICIOUS! I asked for it warmed up and they forgot which dinged the experience a little. Prices were a little high (5.50ish for the cookie). Overall pretty good though!
Ariel I — Google review
I’ve been here a few times now, even back when their cookies were only available in New York. They’re known for their thick, gooey cookies that are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. At around $7 each, they’re definitely pricey, but the cookies are big and worth it. I usually go for the classic chocolate chip, but this time I also tried the double chocolate, which was super rich and really good. The cookies stayed fresh for a couple of days too, which was nice. They also make great gifts if you’re trying to impress someone!
William M — Google review
Again. I am not a fan of any sweet food, the oatmeal raisin , and vegan were not too bad to me if you are an espresso or americano type of person like me. But I came for the concept. I do love blue. Any successful business does get all my attention. Levain Bakery is a true haven for cookie lovers! Their famous cookies are warm, gooey, and packed with flavor—perfectly crispy on the outside and irresistibly soft on the inside. The bakery also offers delicious breads and pastries, all made with top-notch ingredients. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff add to the experience, making it a must-visit spot for anyone with a sweet tooth. Don’t miss their chocolate chip walnut cookie—it’s legendary for a reason!. I love the painting, postcards, blue as the main color. I will definitely get a coffee next time because of the cute cup.

Over time, one of the constants in our trips to the US has become searching for a Levain Bakery. After New York, Los Angeles lives up to the expectations as well. Fantastic cookies—this time I was surprised by the raisin one, while the dark chocolate continues to be an all-time favorite! And this time, we even got the tin box to bring some cookies back home.

Today I visited Levain Bakery on Larchmont Boulevard in Los Angeles, and this place turned out to be really excellent. I ordered a Chocolate Chip Brioche and a Sticky Bun to enjoy the fresh pastries on-site. Every bite was perfect: the brioche was soft and melted in my mouth, while the spiced Sticky Bun created an incredible combination of textures and flavors. I was pleasantly surprised by the bakery’s atmosphere it was cozy, bright, with friendly and attentive staff ready to help with choices and share recommendations. After enjoying my orders, I couldn’t resist taking a few more cookies and buns to go, to share with a friend. Everything was packed neatly, fresh, and in perfect condition.

Great place! Excellent customer service. The cookies are probably the best I've ever had from a bakery. Usually I make my own, but I wanted to see if they lived up to the hype. I bought their classic chocolate chip- walnut, double chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia but and their oatmeal-raisin. All were great, but I'd have to say the oatmeal-raisin was my favorite.

Delicious fresh baked cookies!! Little overpriced but to be honest I was craving something fresh and yummy, so $4.60 per cookie was okay for me
Medina A — Google review
Omg, when I opened the wrapper, it literally smelled like a bakery in my bedroom (i didn't want to share, hahaha)! I almost felt like I could taste them, the smell was so strong and intoxicating. The process to purchase them was different and super important to know. I just walked in, but they generally have you order ahead of time and then pick them up. This place isn't a bakery, it's their kitchen, and it doesn't seem like they make a surplus of cookies. Fortunately, they do make a few extras for people like myself who just read a bunch of reviews saying how good something is and jump up and go. They had like 6 cookies left when I got there, and I bought 1/2 of them. The chocolate chip is super thin but bursting with chocolate and is buttery. The peanut butter cookie was rich, but not too rich and moist. They were both a little too sweet for me, but I ate both of them all the way up (so clearly not TOO sweet huh) My only issue was with the chocolate decadence, it just didn't taste that good too me, but I'm not that into chocolate, I'll eat it, but this was just way too much, but duh... it is literally called chocolate decadence, so that's literally my fault (although the texture was a little strang to me). parking was absolutely awful, but it's LA where isn't parking awful. I'm so into convenience, and I'm spontaneous, so this concept of ordering ahead doesn't work for me, but it's worth it if the slightest inconvenience doesn't bother you like it bothers me!
Eddie L — Google review
absolutely delicious peanut butter, cookies, both regular and the vegan gluten-free cookies. We needed the cookies for a special event. They were extremely accommodating, so professional, and the cookies were the dessert that gobbled up the fastest. I will definitely be ordering from them again. I can’t wait to try out the shipping, and send to friends who are gluten-free. Highly, highly recommend!

Delicious!!! Some of the best cookies in LA, especially if you like them on the thinner side. A bit pricey, but worth it!
A K — Google review
Was craving a upmarket premium cookie and happened across the Eater LA article recommending them as one of the best cookies in LA. This particular location isn’t a traditional storefront, more of their distribution center. Don’t let this fool you, as someone who has had many a vegan cookie from all types of businesses from small bakeries across the Pacific Northwest (Portland/Seattle) and hometown SF/Oakland to the more corporate Whole Foods baked goods-This is by far my favorite I’ve had so far. The texture, the aroma, the balance of all the ingredients, whomever put together their recipes has a meticulous palate! Often times vegan cookies are nice imitations of cookies but lacking that premium crafted taste and mouth feel that you crave from an upscale specialty bake shop, not at all the case with these lovely creations. Also love the fact that the flour they used is based in quinoa and rice since I’m allergic to almond flour which is what most places use as a replacement flour (or at least that’s what I read on their website). The people were lovely to interact with as an added bonus, So happy I popped in for a bite, Yumm! Happy cookie Friday!

Bottega Louie is a vibrant and bustling Italian restaurant located in downtown Los Angeles. Housed in a former bank, this glamorous eatery offers a variety of delectable dishes including pizzas, pastas, and small plates. It's a popular spot for both elegant dinners and swanky weekend brunches. However, what sets Bottega Louie apart is its renowned macarons, presented in dainty pastel-colored boxes.
I haven’t had a bad experience yet. And I can’t say the food isn’t delicious. It’s actually quite solid. It’s not the best food I ever had but it’s also very consistent and the portions are fair. You’re coming here for the atmosphere. Big, bright, loud, chic and the options are plenty. I usually always leave with a dessert To-Go because they’re quite tasty. The usual is a box of Macaroons when I leave because it’s that yummy. I’m also not going to pretend like it’s cheap here. But neither is it outrageous.
Kimberly K — Google review
We stopped at Bottega Louie, just a short 4-minute drive from the Crypto.com Arena, and had a really enjoyable meal. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, which came with a breaded chicken breast topped with their house-made marinara, Grana Padano, mozzarella, fresh basil, Espelette pepper, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. The flavors were bold and comforting, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. My wife and daughter shared the Capricciosa Pizza, topped with mozzarella, crema d’aglio, olives, red onions, roasted tomatoes, Pecorino Romano, balsamic reduction, fresh basil, and extra virgin olive oil. The balance of flavors was excellent, with the balsamic adding a nice sweetness to the savory toppings. For an appetizer, we ordered the Calamari Fritti, which was crispy, light, and paired well with the sauces provided. The atmosphere was lively and modern, with an upscale yet approachable vibe—perfect for a pre-event dinner. Service was attentive without being rushed, even though the restaurant was busy. Overall, Bottega Louie delivered a great dining experience, with quality dishes and a vibrant setting that makes it worth a stop if you’re downtown.
Rafael V — Google review
If you are looking for a dining spot in downtown Los Angeles that manages to feel both grand and welcoming, Bottega Louie deserves every bit of its reputation. From the moment you step into the soaring white and marble dining room, you feel a sense of energy that makes even a casual meal feel like an event. The open kitchen, polished brass accents, and soft lighting give it a glamorous brasserie feel without tipping into pretension. It’s always bustling, filled with a mix of locals, tourists, and people celebrating something, and somehow the service still keeps pace with calm precision. What makes Bottega Louie unique is how well it bridges two worlds. It’s a full restaurant and bar, but also a world class patisserie. The display case alone stops people in their tracks, filled with jewel toned pastries and their famous macarons. The macarons are exceptional, crisp on the outside and tender in the center, with flavors like pistachio, lemon, and salted caramel that actually taste as described rather than just sweet. The savory menu is equally strong. The burrata pizza with prosciutto di Parma and rapini is a standout, perfectly balanced between creamy and salty. The tagliatelle with beef ragu is rich and deeply flavored, and their beignets at brunch might be the best in the city. Bottega Louie sits in a beautifully restored early twentieth century building that feels perfectly at home in the heart of downtown’s revival. It’s one of those rare places that captures what makes Los Angeles dining exciting right now. Whether you’re stopping in for a full meal or just a coffee and pastry, it’s impossible not to be impressed.
Paul M — Google review
Wow, just wow, it’s difficult to put into words how amazing this place really is! The service and staff were the sweetest ever, so kind and helpful when it came to the menu and even bringing me a drink refill without having to ask for it! The food was definitely another level of delicious, just for the simplest of examples, the dipping pesto aioli sauce for the portobello fries had so many layers to it, that it stood alone without using it as a dipping sauce! Now I need to mention the deserts or sweets counter specifically!!!!! Macaroons that were like nothing I’ve ever tasted and the beignets, I can’t, I really just can’t tell you in words how amazing these are!!! Oooh unbelievable, you just have to try them!!!! The dining experience here at Bottega Louie is absolutely one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot, a lot of really good ones too!!!!

Went for Sunday brunch and had a delicious meal. We ordered matcha latte, green juice, Belgian waffles, açaí bowl, farmers market breakfast, salmon & bagel, and beignets. All were delicious. We also got several macarons, a baguette and pretzel from the bakery. Delicious! I would recommend. Large light filled location DTLA. I imagine it could get very noisy in restaurant if it all tables were full.

The bite-sized macarons were displayed by color, making me want to try every flavor. I ordered chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, and vanilla, and I loved how the flavors were rich yet clean. The raspberry cream doughnut was also delicious; it wasn't too sweet, and the cream filling was perfectly balanced. Noise level was higher than others.

I stopped by Bottega Louie and picked up a latte, and I have to say it was excellent. As someone who’s really a fan of coffee, this one truly stood out — smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. Honestly one of the best coffees I’ve had in a while. Even the presentation impressed me. The cup design is beautiful and classy, which made the whole experience feel a little more special. Highly recommend their coffee if you’re looking for great taste and great presentation.

Bottega Louie: Where Downtown LA Dines Like a Gentleman . LOS ANGELES, CA - Step into Bottega Louie and you’re not just grabbing a bite — you’re entering a high-style culinary playground where Italian finesse meets French patisserie charm, all wrapped in a bold, metropolitan vibe. Located at 700 S Grand Ave, this Downtown LA icon doesn’t whisper luxury — it speaks it fluently. . The space is massive, bright, and unapologetically chic. Think marble counters, soaring ceilings, and a patisserie display that could seduce a monk. It’s loud, it’s lively, and it’s got the kind of energy that makes you want to order champagne with your eggs. . The menu? A heavyweight lineup. Start with the Burrata Pizza — creamy, tangy, and worth every cent of its ~$22 price tag. The Trenne Pasta, tossed with braised short rib, is a rich, masculine dish that hits like a velvet uppercut. Brunch classics like the Smoked Salmon Benedict and French Toast are plated with precision and flavor that punches above their ~$18–$24 range. And don’t skip dessert: the Chocolate Soufflé and rainbow-hued macarons are pure art. . Service is sharp, friendly, and fast-paced. No reservations, but the turnover is quick and the staff keeps things moving with a smile and swagger. Whether you’re in for a power lunch, a date night, or just flexing your taste buds, Bottega Louie delivers. . Bottom line: it’s not cheap, but it’s not trying to be. You’re paying for the full experience—ambiance, flavor, and a vibe that says, “I know exactly where I am, and I like it.” Five stars, no hesitation. This is LA dining with backbone.

Gjusta is an artisanal bakery located in a spacious warehouse-like setting that bakes special breads on-site. The bakery also houses Gjusta Goods, offering a variety of food provisions, marinated olive oil, locally sourced blooms, ceramics, vintage rugs and linen napkins. It also sells jumpsuits and aprons made in collaboration with Suay Sew Shop in downtown Los Angeles.
Had such a good fish dip toast here this morning and drip coffee. I was initially confused by the setup inside since there were two ordering counters. The staff were super kind and helpful explaining how to order. The outdoor patio is huge and they brought my coffee and food out so quickly !! I loved the design inside and outdoor ambiance. The fish toast was heaven. An abundance of protein atop a fresh grainy toast. I bought cardamom walnut shortbread cookies to dip in my coffee which were also fabulous. I’ll definitely be back !! Love their sister operation Gjelina.

Paid over $30 for a forgettable breakfast for one person: $20 - Average breakfast burrito. Upmarket price was not justified in terms of size, quality, or flavor. $4.50 - Plain drip coffee $4.9 - 20% Mandatory surprise auto gratuity Plus tax My burrito was brought out in a timely manner but my coffee came 20 minutes later after checking with staff multiple times. So much for the premium gratuity for a counter order cafe. The place did have a charming industrial vibe to it with a nice patio.

Great and yummy sandwiches! There was freshness and flavor. There was a snafu with our order BUT it was still great and management handled it well. They also gave us free cookies! Can’t complain :)

It was good but they need to work on their order taking . If people pay so much and they have to wait an hour only to order , it doesent make sense. Also the juice servings are like for a 4 year old. French fries should have been hot but were cold . Sandwiches were good. I don’t think I would come again.

EASILY one of the best breakfasts I have EVER had in my lifetime!!! Look you are going to drop $20 mostly anywhere and it’s easy to drop $30 here but it’s SoooooooO worth it. This place is literally the reason I choose to stay in the Venice Beach area on this trip. EVERYTHING THEY DO IS AMAZING!!! I arrived right before they opened on a Sunday and was the 1st customer of the day. Elias was the person who helped me and boy was he awesome. They are a very unique place and I usually am a quick order but in this case I definitely had some questions I ended up building my own sand which was some type of specialty onion bagels with onions baked into it WoW 😱 it hit different and was delicious. On top of it I knew I wanted Lox (shoutouts to DBlock) but I wasn’t sure what kind since they have a bunch of options. After talking to Elias and having him describe the differences I decided to try the Pastrami Lox (Gravlax). Perfect choice with that bagel. Add cream cheese and pickled red onions and the meal was Heavenly. I also wanted an iced coffee. After asking for a recommendation Elias told me about the Salted Mocha which was right up my alley. Simply incredible. I love this place so much I will definitely be back for lunch. Probably to have a Pastrami sandwich

Taking number and placing order was really easy, and atmosphere was great. However I definitely ordered the wrong dish. I got the $24 brisket hash and that was some of the worst brisket hash I’ve ever had. The meat was SUPER chewy cubes, it tasted like bad stew meat. The egg looked like it might be runny but was overcooked and had mostly solid yolk. Ended up sharing my husband’s Italian sandwich that was pretty good at least. Also got a pistachio croissant that was amazing. So, bakery is great, I was just so utterly disappointed by the brisket and pricing that I wouldn’t come back unless I was just grabbing bread or a pastry.

I lived in Venice before the pandemic, and remember Gjusta having the most incredible cold brew and pastries. 5+ years later, only the cold brew holds up. The pastries are fine, but they lack the crispy flakiness that separates a great pastry from a good one. The flies have also become a big problem out back. Still love Gjusta, but some of the shine has definitely worn off. Where can a man get a great pastry in LA??

Absolutely loved this place! What a beautiful space!! And to have such an amazing selection of delicious food too? The staff was super friendly and patient even with the pressure of a long line, I felt very safe with my food allergies. And the food was really really good. Totally could eat here every morning!

If you follow me you know I’m all about flavor. Let’s just say this dish, the Ginger Chicken Salad, is for those who are flavor averse. It was bland but sounded like the flavor mix would be great! Nope! It was a bunch of cabbage with a few sprigs of greens and a few pieces of chicken sprinkled in. I also had the salted caramel babka roll, which was nice but didn’t taste like salted caramel. The Valrhona Mocha Latte was smooth and had a distinct chocolate taste. I liked it. The patio is lovely and the staff is friendly and helpful. I’m always torn about tipping for counter service but I did. I asked the cashier for his thoughts on the salad and asked the busser for a box. I would not return.

I have been eating here multiple times a week for the past month plus and this place is awesome. I don’t love counter only service, but it works as a mostly coffee and pastry stop plus they have a lovely large front patio if you stay. All of the pastries are to die for, amazing Stumptown coffee, I love the salmon toast and the pork belly hash- wouldn’t get the chilaquiles again. All in all great place! Try the chocolate banana bread and the chop salad!

Beautiful bright atmosphere. I had Almond French toasts and eggs Benedict’s. Both of them were really good! they were very tasty and not too heavy like a lot of other brunch places are. But coffee was also good.

Get ready, set, go! Their staff is waiting to deliver proficiently. Amazing service, i’m impressed. Food is great. Food made from scratch, as well as baked goods are made in house. Clean and efficient. Every item is delivered in a tray, as it should be. Buckets with sanitizer placed around the place, making sure no table is dirty at any time. Their brunch special items are another level. Simple, and straight forward. I had the best egg benedicts in LA, by far. House-made english muffin, crispy porkbelly, and hollandaise sauce. Their flourless lemon thyme custard cake was extremely stunning. Limenade, and honey rosemary latte were beautifully crafted. BRAVO!

Nestled in the heart of Mid-Wilshire, Milk Jar Cookies is a delightful bakery that elevates the humble cookie to new heights. With an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of home, this spot offers a variety of creatively crafted cookies alongside local ice cream and coffee drinks. Each cookie, from the classic Chocolate Chip to the indulgent Rocky Road and unique Banana Split flavors, boasts a perfect consistency thanks to their perfected recipes. The seasonal offerings like Pumpkin Pie add an extra touch of excitement for cookie lovers.
I highly recommend stopping for here for a lil treat, either before or after your museum adventure in the area! The location is super accessible and has an inviting atmosphere. I found street parking with ease, but it might have been the rain keeping the crowds away when I visited. The staff is not only friendly but also very patient and well-informed. Now, about the cookies – I couldn't resist the classic chocolate chip, and it was predictably divine. But I decided to be adventurous and try their banana split cookie after reading some glowing reviews. Guess what? I'm a convert to that one too! Here's a fun detail – they even have cookies for our four-legged friends, which I thought was adorable. Definitely swing by, and don't forget to order a glass of milk – you'll want it! (Unless, of course, you're lactose intolerant.)

My wife received their cookies as a gift and we were really enjoyed. So we decided to visit their place. It’s pretty random location and I don’t think they have parking lot. We parked on the street. They do have cute interior inside the store. We went here on Sunday after lunch time. No customers at all. It was super quiet. We only saw togo customers. Ended up we got two boxes of half dozen cookies, one for us one for friends. Overall we liked their cookies because not super sweet. And also we really like their gift box packaging. Price also wasn’t that expensive. So me and my wife decided to get some cookies gift box for this year holidays. Highly recommended!

Small brightly lit cookie shop with a cool vibe and ambience right off Wilshire. Attentive service Came here and tried theirchocolate caramel cookie, flourless, snickerdoodle cookie, then got some of their frozen gluten-free chocolate chip cookies though to take them to bake. Went there later in the day, the cookies that I bought that were premade were nothing special. The frozen take home cookie dough was better fresh out of the oven but overall there was not much remarkable about the cookies here.

This storefront is beautiful and welcoming. Street Parking is available (Metered) As soon as I walked inside, the aromas surrounding my hostiles overtook me senses and I screamed inside with happiness! I was greeted with a smile and everyone was helpful. There were so many choices to chose from, I did something different this time and gave up control with allowing them to choose 1/2 dozen cookies for me. They have everything you can think of. Half dozen / chocolate chip, chocolate pecan caramel, banana split, mint chocolate, salted butterscotch- 5 🌟 x 6 I love cookies but for whatever reason I don't think to buy them often from specialty stores like Milk Jar Cookies or from bakeries. I am ashamed to admit I get my cookie fix at the grocery store. But not this time! Milk Jar Cookies are amazing! One detail I really appreciated was that they all have a uniform size and shape and they are also a large, very satisfying cookie. I brought them home and followed the recommendation to heat them up in the oven. I regret not trying them with milk (I never keep milk at home). Another element I really appreciated was how seriously they tale their covid precautions. They have an elaborate sidewalk setup that they clearly have to set up each day. Great spot if you have a cookie fix.

Quaint cookie and ice cream shop with very friendly staff. Came here after dinner on a Friday night with a friend, and we were glad to have done so. You order and pay at the counter before grabbing a seat. There’s various flavors of cookies and although they all looked appealing, we went with a classic chocolate chip cookie. It was dense and generous with the chocolate chips. It was on the chewier side and my friend ordered some milk to go alongside it. We also got a scoop of the Cookie Monster ice cream on the side which the cashier let me sample beforehand. It had cookie dough and Oreos mixed into blue ice cream and I thought it wasn’t too sweet. They have ice cream sandwiches available as well that you can customize. The girl working was very friendly and smiley. The other worker also proactively filled the water dispenser (located next to the hallway where the bathroom is) after hearing me say that it was out of water. They play old-timey music and it’s a cozy atmosphere with cute decor. Overall a comfy place to hang and eat some cookies!

They have great cookies, banana split has to be on our top 5 favorite cookies. It's just so good. They have some outdoor seating to make it pet-friendly. Minus one for the sometimes not so friendly service.

Amazing cookies!! Love them so much. They’re big sized cookies. They’re soft and chewy😋. Ordered half dozen: chocolate chip w/walnut, double chocolate chip, oatmeal w/walnut, rocky road and white chocolate raspberry. My faves were choc chip w/walnut, double choc chip and rocky road.

Porto's Bakery and Cafe is a beloved Cuban bakery that has grown from a small kitchen to a 20,000-square-foot facility with multiple locations in Southern California. The family-run bakery offers an array of traditional cakes like opera and red velvet, as well as savory delights such as tamales, empanadas, and the popular Potato Ball. Their coffee menu is equally diverse, featuring various espresso beverages and specialty lattes.
After a day at Warner Bros studios we needed a refuel so stopped off in Glendale and went back to one of our favourites from previous California trips. As always Porto’s doesn’t disappoint. We had the Ham and cheese croissant, Potato balls, Chicken empanadas (very tasty indeed), Meat pie, Pork tamales ( my personal favourite) and Plantain chips None of the dishes disappointed, all were tasty with good portion sizes and there were absolutely no complaints from anyone in our party. For less than $20 ahead it’s an easy fix for a hungry clan. Without a doubt we’ll be visiting Porto’s again in the future.

Their cheese rolls and guava cheese pastry were my favourite. They also have plenty of selections for their bakery section. They also have meal options which are mostly Hispanic or maybe Cuban cuisine - I only tried their pulled pork plate and it was definitely delicious. They also offer a variety of unique and fresh smoothies or combination juices and coffee. Basically display offers variety of options in different categories and they are all delicious. I have nothing to complain about. The only thing to say is that the store could be too crowded sometimes which is understandable because people love it.

I wish they cut people off here like they do at bars when someone’s had too much. I’d be first on the list. This place is SO good. Truly something for everyone: they have savory potato balls and croquettes , bread , cakes and flaky croissants. The prices are super affordable. The service is always incredible. I’ve been so many times and never had a bad experience. Everyone who works there is so kind and welcoming. Try the guava strudel — a party for your tastebuds.

Probably the best sandwich I ever had. I have the chicken torta which one is simply amazing. Super reasonable prices and such friendly staff and beautiful facilities. Plenty of outdoor dining. I'd say the only minus is the bathrooms are very small for such a large place. Highly recommended for all the above reasons.

If you’re craving unforgettable flavors, Porto’s Bakery is a must-visit gem that never disappoints! Everything here is extremely flavorful—from the savory pastries to the decadent desserts, every bite is pure perfection. Yes, there’s often a long wait and long lines, but trust me, the wait time is absolutely worth it. The staff members are extremely friendly, patient, and work hard to keep things moving smoothly even when it’s packed. I highly recommend making reservations and placing your order in advance if you can. Otherwise, be prepared for a 20-40 minute line to order, plus another 5-10 minutes to receive your food. But honestly, even if you wait, you’ll be rewarded with some of the best bakery items you’ll ever taste. Don’t miss out on Porto’s—it’s a delicious experience every single time!

Well, how can you go wrong with this LA classic? It is a must try for anyone in the area and anyone visiting for a good reason: the food is very good. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try very much of their enormous menu, but what I did try was quite good. I had their guava and cheese pastry as well as their just cheese pastry. Both were great, but interestingly, it seemed the just cheese pastry was a bit less crumbly than the one with guava. That’s the only thing I didn’t like (it was a bit too dry). Other than that, very, very good. Pretty solid prices for the area, and the filling was very nice and not too sweet, which I liked. I definitely recommend you try this place out and I’d love to come back and try more items.

DELICIOUS!!! so many things to try, so many flavors. Prices are very pleasant, I would say even lower than cafes that I’m used to, so it’s a great bonus. Service is fast, the staff is on point and is very friendly. The line kept growing, but at the same time moving pretty fast since there’s lots of staff to help out the customers. Can’t wait to be coming back here!

Porto’s Bakery and Café just blew me away. The prices are almost unbelievable for the quality you get. Everything here tastes like it should cost three times as much! I had the best cheese danish of my entire life. Light, flaky, and buttery… absolute perfection! We walked in right at closing and they still served us with the friendliest attitude, which made the whole experience even better! My husband is a chocolate lover and he loved the chocolate twist. Fresh, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. He’s still talking about it! Amazing prices, incredible quality, and genuinely great service. If I lived local, I would be here all the time for desserts. Cheers Porto’s!

Lodge Bread Company is a popular bakery known for its whole-grain, wood-fired pizzas, toasts, and seasonal plates. With locations in Culver City, Woodland Hills, and Pico-Robertson, this once-small bakery has grown into a top breakfast destination. The focus on naturally leavened breads extends to their coffee cake and pastries as well as their toasts and sandwiches.
One of my absolute favorite breakfast spots on the Westside! The breakfast sandwich is out of this world—fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The vibe is always welcoming, and the staff is super friendly. Whether you’re grabbing something quick or enjoying a slow morning, Lodge Bread never disappoints!

My first time here I dined in, I got one of their massive cinnamon rolls. Was so delicious, but couldn't finish it as 1 person, Also had their avocado toast which wasn't amazing as it looked, the bread was a bit toastier and mb a little burnt on the underside. 2nd time I thought I'll try one of their pizzas and another cinnamon roll to go. I enjoyed the pizza I had the mushroom one, definitely a healthy pizza. As for cinnamon roll I thought it least it would be warm, was a little disappointed to get a cold cinnamon roll. I know I probably could just heat it myself but was that the purpose of getting to go food?

Lodge Bread in Los Angeles is such a cool spot! 🥖☕ The vibe is relaxed and creative — the kind of place where you instantly feel the LA energy but still want to stay for hours. The food is excellent, especially the freshly baked sourdough and their amazing toasts and sandwiches. Everything feels wholesome and made with care. And the coffee? Absolutely incredible — rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. Whether you’re coming for breakfast, lunch, or just a quick coffee break, Lodge Bread is one of those places you’ll definitely want to come back to. Grtzz from Amsterdam 💛

Possibly my favorite bakery in LA. Rivals the like of Gjusta, but way less posh. The cashier shared that they will be expanding into the next building, and I’m so excited to see what they make with it. Lodge deserves its own footprint. I always make sure to grab a loaf and some pastries for home, when I stop in for a bite. This has been one of my go to meeting spots for many years. I only wish they did dinner! I guess a take home pizza kit will have to suffice. Heads up, no WiFi! So you can work from here if you have a hotspot. Dog friendly outside, and easy street parking.

The bakery surely impressed me by the rich varieties of bread and pastries they carried. Not only that, even the brunch menu gave abundant selections to pick from. The place was always busy with long lines and you could see even tons of pickup orders bags stood there at the counter. They had mini patio right in front of the bakery where you could enjoy the dishes, but highly recommended to place order ahead for the bakery items as they're sold out uber fast. The turnaround was relatively fast as people were chilling under the sunlight but typically doing quick meal. I tried their Jambon Beurre, which came with cheese as well. Before it was served, I thought it's kinda pricey but when I saw it, the giant size made it totally worthy, especially with the super generous stuffing. The baguette itself was doubtlessly on point with perfect texture and so enjoyable. For sweet option, I tried their Ricotta and Jam toast, which was also decadent. I could totally get it why people loved their bread as this one was pretty simple yet also turned out so good with great quality bread. As you could see from the pic, royal amount of lightly creamy ricotta, well balanced by the sweet fruit jam. Would come back to try more, and have been eyeing their croissants and cookies!

Lodge bread is a bakery who puts bread first. They really make excellent baked goods, and whenever we come here we pick up a rustic Olive loaf to take home for later. Their menu features a variety of sandwiches and pizzas. Prices aren’t cheap but the portion sizes make up for it. I have not been disappointed by any sandwich I’ve tried here. The star of the menu is the Shakshuka, which they also sell to-go so you can easily make it yourself at home later (just add eggs). The food is pretty good and the servers are diligent. Seating can be limited and you’re right next to the street (indoor dining is not available). The coffee is just mediocre.

This is one of the best restaurants/bakery that offers gourmet bread made fresh daily! I have been here twice and have ordered a loaf of bread with rosemary and other herbs, and another loaf with whole wheat and covered with rostered sesame seeds that are so fragrant! They also have a decent lunch menu but you need to order food at the counter. The line can be a bit long during lunch hours but the service is fast. We ordered a few salads and Italian sammies they were fantastic!

ChocoVivo is a delightful eco-friendly chocolate haven that takes pride in its dark-chocolate creations, sourced directly from its own plantation and roastery. This charming venue not only focuses on crafting exquisite chocolate but also emphasizes social responsibility by using all-organic ingredients and sustainable harvesting practices. Drawing inspiration from ancient Aztec and Mayan techniques, ChocoVivo transforms cacao beans into delectable bars while ensuring fair treatment for the farmers involved.
Just went to Chocovivo for the chocolate tour. It was an amazing experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and we could feel her passion as she described the history of chocolate. This made the experience even better. We tried about 13 different kinds of chocolates along with the sipping drink. We also got to go to the back of the store and look how the whole process goes. We even got to use a small bean grinder to see how the cacao gets crushed. If you like high end quality chocolate, this is a great place to visit. Highly recommend it.

Literally the best chocolate I’ve ever had. Extremely knowledgeable staff, amazing drinks, and the chocolate tasting is fantastic. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Avery K — Google review
Literally the most bland chocolate I have ever had. I don’t even know how it’s possible to make chocolate that has zero taste at 51% cacao. It’s like they filled their bars with cardboard instead. Genuinely baffling. AND IT WAS LIKE $14 FOR 1.8 OZ. NOT EVEN 2 OUNCES!!! Tried everything from their 51% to their 90% and my girlfriend and I were literally laughing at how little taste they had. By the end of it we were both just wishing we bought a Hershey bar… and I hate Hersheys

After my visit here, I could not stop telling everyone I knew about this hidden gem! This cozy chocolate shop is such a treat, I wish we had more places like this. The decor and fun cacao-related products sold inside are so interesting and a great place for an intimate meet up. The Mayan sipping chocolate was my favorite, and I definitely recommend the chocolate tasting! For only $13 you get to try 13 pieces of dark chocolate, and it's shareable for 2 people. It was such a cool experience for my partner and I, and so was having a lovely chat with the owner. It's always nice to see a woman of color working (and excelling!) on a passion career, and the dark chocolate tasted even better knowing that the source was coming from good hands. I bought the pecan butter with cacao as a gift for my sister, who finished it in a week so I can confidently say that's a hit too, so I'll be back soon to try another cacao product (maybe the handmade cocoa butter lotion bars?).

Amazing. Take your time, be with yourself, and feel as you sip this cacao. By the end of your drink, you feel much lighter and the frenetic city is washed off your body. Thank you for being here, Chocovivo!

Did the chocolate "tour" which included chocolate tasting, informational, hands on practicum, cacao pulp drink, and choice of chocolate drink (I had the mayan sipping chocolate). The staff are friendly and informative. Helpful. The chocolate is GOOD (we left with 5 bars after). Not too sweet while still maintaining flavor depth and complexity (and not super bitter as a result). My favorites were the 100% and 70%. Very different flavors. I could describe what I got from it but it will really depend on your palate. Even with the 100% it was still smooth on the tongue. Didn't take any pictures because it was such an intimate and engaging experience that it didn't even cross my mind until after we left and were trying to describe it to someone else (and wish I had pictures to help). If you're considering it, do it.

Valerie Confections is a locally owned bakery in Los Angeles that specializes in handmade chocolates, pastries, and confections. The shop offers a variety of delectable treats such as petits fours, cakes, toffees, and tea. One of their standout desserts is the Winter Luxury Pumpkin Pie made with special Winter Luxury pumpkins known for their rich caramel flavor.
What's not to love about all their offerings? The chocolates are brilliant, baked goods & sandwiches just remarkable! On a free morning I'll drive just to pick up some creme fraiche scones for breakfast! And man, the petite fours!

Salted maple latte is really good! They also have really cute handmade gourmet chocolates and desserts, hand pies, and pastries! First time I went, I felt more welcomed ...the 2nd time I went, a different girl was behind the counter... she seemed a little annoyed by my questions...so she wasn't very kind or friendly to me...but honestly that didn't stop me from getting their really amazing latte! Cute spot on Glenoaks with great coffee and cool handmade treats

I've been coming to Valerie's quite a bit. Their food is quite good; killer quiches and tasty chocolates, albeit a tad expensive. I'd also come for their lattes, but I think things have been changing recently? Last time I went, I was surprised to hear from the cashier that they "don't do espresso drinks" and they stopped serving side salads with their quiches. I'm sure the cashier thought I hadn't been before, but they still had the sign up for lattes and felt mildly dismissed by the comment. This is more of their "retail location," apparently, but it's a bit of a shame because the patio area is cute, and I like how off the path this place is. It's disappointing to see the selection of fresh drinks/food contract, but what they do have is tasty, at least.

I ordered a lemon cake. We were disappointed that it was quite dense and not very lemony! I am not sure I would make the drive again.

I was so touched when my daughter had Valerie’s Confections send me a beautiful box of Petits Fours for Mother’s Day. The box arrived in perfect condition, and the presentation was as exquisite as the flavors. Every bite was a delight—a truly special gift.

June 2023: Was in Burbank for the holidays... Stopped by late in the afternoon hoping to get a slice of the coffee crunch cake. Unfortunately they were sold out but I was able to get their last mochi shoyu caramel cake. I didn't eat it until the next evening and it was still quite delicious 😋! Looking forward to coming back to score a coffee crunch cake 🍰!

Mexican restaurant
La Mascota Bakery is a long-standing, family-owned establishment in Boyle Heights, specializing in Mexican breads, cakes, pastries, and tamales. Since 1952, it has been a beloved spot for its iconic crunchy-sweet conchas and tamales. The bakery also offers an extensive selection of traditional Mexican pastries like puerquitos and gusanos. Visitors can indulge in delightful cookies capturing the essence of Mexican culinary traditions.
Very nice historic spot in Boyle Heights. Glad I wanted to pick this spot over the other we were headed to. The ladies here are very nice and the sweet breads are all soft and beautifully made. I enjoyed the vegetable tamale and the concha’s plus the drinks e ordered. The ambience is nice and cute but I wonder how it felt and looked like before the change upgrade. History for sure. Soft concha’s , yummy horchata latte and definitely worth visits to come!
PJ — Google review
Overall: 3/5 – Not bad, but not $100+ experience yet. Tamales: 7/10 – decent flavor, needed more heat. Bread: 7.5/10 – soft, fresh, and satisfying. Menudo: a clear miss—bland, uninspired, zero depth. We spent over $100, so expectations were higher. One staff member delivered 10/10 service—engaged and professional. The rest? Low energy. Could be an off day, but a team refresh wouldn’t hurt. With a few tweaks, this place could absolutely shine. Would give it another try.

First time eating here, I had a breakfast torta, queso tamal and piña tamal. My husband and I loved the taste and quality of the food. The drink, we got hot horchata latte, iced dulce de leche latte and it was delicious! Thank you to the server Giselle for helping us out this morning. Very kind! We love how clean and fresh the bakery smells. Great job to the owner and staff!

This is a local bakery that has amazing cakes and sweets. Beautifully decorated and layered, and fresh. Very reasonably priced, too. With most high end food store bakeries you would pay 33%-50% more for the same beautiful, luscious cake. One warning, the lady who waited on me was very lovely but only spoke Spanish.
Karin ( — Google review
This chocoflan is sweet and soft like a heaven. Don't hesitate to have it if you like both flan and chocolate sponge cake!!🥹 I give 10/10. I don't speak Spanish and have no idea what pastries I am looking at. The staff are very patient. A lady kindly explained to me in English 💚🤍❤️ I came around noon. There was no line. There are plenty of seating: 5 indoor and 3 outdoor. I am definitely coming back for the tamales 🫔🥹
Peiyuan S — Google review
Very unreliable. You just don't know what you'll get. My family lives a block away so they come to this bakery often. But, You never know if the bread will be soft or hard. At times the bread is fresh and soft. But, then there are times that I'm wondering how long has the bread been sitting there (specially during the week). Tamales are good, actually more like "ok" but, as mentioned above; their bread is a hit or miss.
D P — Google review
Baybeeee!!! When I tell you!!! The veggie tamales are what I live for at this bakery!!! Not once have they ever been dry or lacking. Good size and very juicy. Wrapped in corn husk. I'm from Chicago, so I love a wet tamale. If you prefer it to be dry, then call ahead and see if they can accommodate, but I promise if you enjoy it the way they make it, you'll love it too! Not too salty. Great flavor and very filling. I normally buy 6 and freeze a few to have a healthy meal for lunch or snack. You will not be unhappy with the veggies tamales. They also have good sweet breads and I'm trying the choco-flan (will report back on that later). I always call ahead and do takeout.
Nicole S — Google review
For Christmas Eve, be aware that ordering ahead and showing up just to pick up seems to make absolutely no difference in wait time or priority. In fact, right now the line to order seems to be faster at the moment and it’s shorter! They need to figure out their system. The tamales are good but you have to be ready to wait a long time even if you order ahead.

Bakery
Gusto Bread, located in Long Beach, is an artisanal bakery that combines traditional Mexican pastry-making with heirloom grains. The bakery offers a variety of bread loaves, pan dulce, and cookies. Arturo Enciso, the owner, learned baking techniques from around the world before opening the storefront with his partner Ana Belen Salatino in 2020.
We didn’t intend on coming here, but it was an opportunity to try Gusto since there was barely any line on the Saturday morning. We dropped in and grabbed a few bites. Overall, the jamon pastry was really good. The surprising Dijon mustard hit very well and the starch of the bread gives a nice balance to it. My favorite of them all. The cheddar jalapeño bread was delicious as well. Very fluffy and has a lot of flavor. If you are savory lover, you should get this one. The Mole empanada was also great. They pack in a lot in that pastry. Very grateful to have the chance to try Gusto. I was lucky that there wasn’t any line but now I see why there is a long line each time.

If your in Long Beach this is a nice bakery with some good quick bites. The food was good, the pastries we're not too sweet which was nice. Coffee was okay but the atmosphere was nice as was the staff. Parking is a bit crowded in the area so you might have to walk over.
Saxon C — Google review
I‘m German so I’m very picky with the type of bread I like (and let’s be honest, most „bread“ sold in the US is a disgrace to the original product). I came to Gusto today for the first time and purchased a great looking sourdough loaf. The employee was very knowledgeable and explained all the different type of breads they had available. It was a busy day but he took his time with us. When I cut the bread later at home, I almost teared up. This tastes so close to home and brought back a taste I haven’t experienced for the 5 years I’m living overseas. This is craftsmanship, THANK YOU - your work is highly appreciated and I’m proud to live in a neighborhood with you guys. I will become a regular.

Enjoyed this place more than I thought. The foods, breads, coffee are excellent and costs less than I thought. The service is wonderful and with caring & smile. The place smells delish upon walking in and well displaced of the foods and everything else. There are seatings inside, outside and street patio. Just a cozy and relaxing place for me with great foods and drinks.
Chris T — Google review
Best Mexican bakery in California—and not just for traditional pastries. Gusto Bread is a Mexican-influenced artisan bakery, not your average panadería. It’s a fusion that feels just right: thoughtful, balanced, and full of flavor. Let’s start with what makes it stand out: it’s not overly sweet. Unlike most American bakeries that rely on sugar bombs and artificial sweeteners, Gusto lets the real ingredients shine. My taste buds have always been sensitive to that overwhelming sugary assault, so this place? It’s a revelation. I don’t just want sugar—I want texture, layered flavors, creative touches, visual delight, complex aroma, crunch, softness, and yes, even that little moan that comes when food is just that good. Gusto delivers. Take the homemade chocolate cookie—dark chocolate, rich and bold, not that cloying milk chocolate nonsense. Then the oreja—flaky, buttery, and light, the perfect heart-shaped crisp I immediately wanted more of. The alfajor de nuez? It crumbles, then melts, blending nutty warmth with just the right touch of creamy dulce de leche. That’s a party. The cacao concha is hands-down the best I’ve ever had—and I grew up in East LA, it's practically an unofficial Mexican Town in CA. But the true standout is the Nixtamal Queen. It’s lightly sweet, intriguingly sticky, and the softness is irresistible. One bite turns into two… then three. I should’ve bought more. Do the pastries look just as beautiful as they tasted divine? Yes, they do. Each one is a visual feast—intentional, artistic, and mouthwatering before you even take a bite. If I had one note: skip the croissants. They’re fine, but average—and let’s be real, I didn’t come to a Mexican bakery expecting French patisserie perfection. That’s not a fault, just a boundary of the genre. Bottom line: Come hungry. Try everything. Don’t skip the Nixtamal Queen. Gusto Bread is where tradition meets innovation, and every bite is an experience. No wonder the New York Times puts Gusto Bread on their list of 22 of the best bakeries in America.
Ria C — Google review
Ordered the Nixtamal Queen and Jamon Roll. I really liked the former - crunchy and doughy, with savory corn masada in the middle. Definitely the star between the two. I enjoyed the jamon, however, not full of meat or flavor inside the pastry, so the opposite of the Nixtamal Queen, which is packed with flavor and texture. Gusto lives up to the label as a world-class bakery. Excited to try the other menu items. There was a consistent line around 12 pm, and some menu items will sell out, so come early!

Great customer service. Loved the bolillo, empanada and alfajores. Really all their pastries are top notch. The coffee on the other hand was lackluster and overpriced. I was excited to try the atole latte, but the maiz cream did not add any flavor. The special matcha was just alright. But would definitely go back for the baked goods. They have specials on day old bread as well.

You are paying most for a charming service, tip them more. Without them , I don't think I would come back again. Hard to park, if you are driving. Wednesday 8-10am street sweeping, Friday , I'll say for trash picked up. Bike rack (kind of) nearby. Few free parking at front on the street, couple 30 mins parking further down. There are outdoor seating ,waiting area, water for little pals. Busy street, not sure if I would like to sit out side. Now, pastry, you get what they have. They serve as is, not going to warming it up if you request. It was OK ,for that price I expected more. Too sweet for me not as other reviews stated. Again, you are supporting for the lovely service.

Bakery
Colossus Bread, located in Belmont Shore, is known for its decadent pastries and chef-driven bakery offerings. The Kouign-Amann, a French caramelized butter cake, is a popular choice among visitors. The bakery prides itself on using sustainably sourced and seasonal ingredients to create their hot loaves and pastries. Specializing in sourdough breads and classic French and Italian pastries, Colossus also offers gourmet pizzas and sandwiches.
Colossus is worth the hype! I dropped in while killing time in Long Beach and am happy I did. I ordered the Honey Lavender Latte which was a perfect balance of sweet and herb 🌿 For baked goods, I went with the following: 1) Cardamom Bun : $5.50 - Loved the simple yet elegant nature to this one. Just a hint of cardamom with a soft, warm interior made this a lighter option. 2) Pumpkin Almond Chocolate Twice Baked Croissant : $8 - seasonal special croissant that was unique. I loved the duo of 🎃 and 🍫! 3) Twice Baked Almond Croissant : Great outer crunch with soft interior. Solid croissant!

I needed to kill some time before my nail appointment, and I stumbled upon this bakery. I didn't get a chance to try a coffee (gave it up for Lent 😩), but i did try the iced tea/lemonade. The name escapes me but it was really good! The breakfast sandwiches were sold out, so get there early if you wanna try them. I had the egg in a basket....the bread was so good! I'm definitely coming back again. No seating! Grab & Go!

I had a wonderful experience at this delightful bakery! I highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the neighborhood. The coffee was exceptionally good. My friends and I enjoyed the Iced Gingerbread Latte with Cold Foam (7/10) and the Midsommar Latte (9/10), both delicious, with the Midsommar Latte being particularly delicious! We also thoroughly enjoyed the Citrus Mascarpone Oat Streusel Sweet Danish—a perfect 10/10! I appreciated that the tip was included, making the ordering process very convenient. And no extra charge for alternative milk options! Perfect ! I plan to return if ever near the neighborhood.

My favorite bakery in the area. They have a great selection of pastries as well as sandwiches and brunch options. Their drinks are also delicious, especially the strawberry matcha latte. The sandwiches are fantastic but if you can only get one thing I'd go for the pastries. The texture they achieve is out of this world as well as having great flavors and fillings.

love this place and it’s been a go for amazing baked goods and delicious bread. But I have to comment about the extortion for a cup of coffee. I previously was willing to pay it because they said prices were reflective of a living wage for their workers and the tip is also included. But now all of a sudden the tip screen is back. How much are you expecting us to pay for a cup of coffee and a baked good and also tip? Also please bring the seating back.

An Ideal Bakery, with Charm and Variety. PROS: The food and beverages are "out-of-the-park" good, honestly. The pastry I enjoyed was incredibly delicious, and surprisingly filling. The Vanilla Latte was flawless and served beautifully. The environment was intriguing, with so many tempting store items and local goods to look at while in line or waiting. The cashier was courteous, and everyone looked "in the zone" with their parts. CONS: The only con is the lack of parking in that region of Long Beach, which is out of their control. This shouldn't be a reason to not make a visit to 2nd st, and make a day of it by stopping by this spot. Excellent and Superb Spot to try in Long Beach.
Aleah G — Google review
Colossus is an absolute gem of a bakery. Incredible products, staff, service and selection of curated local goods. The open bakery is beautiful and everything that they put out is simply gorgeous. The seasonal items are always phenomenal and I strongly recommend checking them out! Coffee is nice with good milk alternative options, I originally fell in love with the San Pedro location and the Belmont location is just such an awesome extension of that. The Belmont location is so well put together, designed, and styled, plus it has a great menu throughout the day. Lots of seating outside and parking within walking distance. A lovely place with local roots bringing beautiful baked goods to the South Bay & Long Beach areas-a must try if you’re in the area.

Lei'd Cookies is a must-visit spot for cookie lovers. The warm and friendly service adds to the experience of trying out their delicious treats. The cannoli, mango sticky rice, and seasonal pumpkin pie cookies are bursting with flavor and truly capture the essence of their inspirations. Even if a specific flavor isn't available, the alternative options still showcase the same love and attention to detail. The Mayan flavor stands out as a favorite among many visitors.
The flavours on offer are interesting and the storefront is very inviting. The shop owner is also super friendly. I tried the mango sticky rice cookie. What I liked: The sticky rice on top is slightly salted and has coconut milk which makes it quite authentic. The dried mango chunks within is generous. What can be improved: The entire cookie is soft with not much textural contrast as the rice is soft as well. Might be good to have a crunchy sprinkle instead of black sesame seeds. Also, the entire taste is just sweet, and there is no tart or sour contrast. If fresh mango is used instead of dried mango, the overall cookie will be much more balanced and less one dimensional.
Serene L — Google review
Hands down one of the best cookie spots in Los Angeles. Laid Cookies completely lives up to their bold slogan: “Cookies so good you feel like you just got laid.” The vibe inside is warm, modern, and full of personality. It’s the kind of place that makes you instantly happy to be there. The aroma of freshly baked cookies hits you the second you walk in, and the display is filled with creative flavors you won’t find anywhere else. The staff was incredibly friendly and patient, walking me through all the options so I could pick the perfect mix. Every cookie is baked to perfection, crispy on the edges, soft and gooey in the center. The classics like Browned Butter Chocolate Chip are unreal, but the standouts are the globally inspired flavors like Mango Sticky Rice, guava & goat cheese, and S’mores. Each one feels like a little passport stamp in dessert. These are way more than cookies. It’s a full-on experience. Whether you’re a dessert lover, foodie, or just someone searching for the best cookies in LA, this place is a must-try. You’ll leave smiling, satisfied, and already planning your next visit.

Easily one of the best cookies I've had in the states. We went close to closing time and they still had fresh cookies, staff was super kind and nice as well My favorite was the ube cookie and cardamom cookie. But can't go wrong with any of them. My least favorite was probabaly the mango sticky rice

A wonderful business with the friendliest service. All the cookie flavors looked amazing but I went with ever I thought was the most unique—mango sticky rice—and it was soooo good. The texture of the rice with the cookie worked?!?! And the bits of fruit inside were perfect. Also got a scoop of the fruity pebble ice cream and it was phenomenal. They also offer gluten-free and vegan options! The staff was also super sweet to us and every guest that came in afterwards. Highly recommend.
Hannah C — Google review
I like to look for Yelp events when traveling and found there was one here. Sadly, the event was cancelled, but I still stopped by to try the cookies since the flavor combinations were intriguing. I loved the shop’s colorful Hawaiian decor and cheeky signage (ie. I got Lei’d). The employee there at the time was friendly and helpful. I picked up the guava goat cheese cookie and the ube/pandan cookie. I had a packed schedule so I actually was not able to try them until a couple of days later. They still retained their freshness despite the passage of time. My favorite of the two was the guava cookie. It had a good balance of sweetness from the guava and a bit of saltiness and creaminess from the goat cheese. The pandan/ube cookie was also enjoyable. Each side captured the essence of their respective flavors. Of the two sides I favored the pandan over the ube. It might be interesting if the two flavors were formatted in a swirl pattern to capture both in one bite. I’ll definitely stop by again when visiting LA in the future.

I've been Lei'd! It's a good day when you walk into a shop that smells like happiness. This is a unique & special cookie shop, the owners were super friendly & helpful. I opted for the 5 pack. My favorite is the Cannoli cookie with orange ricotta, (didnt really taste orange) dark chocolate, and pistachio sprinkles, rolled in a cannoli shell for crunch. Or wait, maybe it's the Mayan dark chocolate chunk with cayenne, or maybe it is the seasonal tahini pumpkin with a creme brulee' topping. Soft, chewy, crunchy textures, quality ingredients, plus they serve their chocolate cookies from warming plate. I'm glad I don't live too close! But I will be back!

Came the first time today. I really loved one of the cookies (brown butter chocolate chip), thought two were okay (snickerdoodle & fruity pebble cereal), and was not a fan of the bitterness of two cookies (mayan & thai tea w/ thai mochi (specialty flavor)). The textures were all pretty good but some cookies were warm and others were pretty cold. Honestly felt pretty underwhelmed by the lack of flavor across the board, especially at $5/cookie w/ a $1 surcharge for the mochi one. I would only return for the brown sugar one, and might be open to order flavors I haven’t tried. But I wouldn’t go out of my way, personally. The place is very aesthetic though and I love their themed merch. Comes in a gorgeous blue box with pretty font.

Fleurs et Sel is a popular bakery known for its thick and doughy style cookies that are described as melting in your mouth. The shop has gained recognition and popularity, transitioning from Instagram cookie drops to a brick-and-mortar store. Customers appreciate the variety of delicious flavors and the friendly service provided by Lara Adekoya, the baker/owner. The unique combination of cookie dough, salt, and sweetness sets these cookies apart from others in the area.
Fleurs et Sel is amazing. I’m a total cookie snob and quite over all the gimmicky, trendy cookies that are overly stuffed. These are the real deal. Perfect balance of flavor and texture—nothing overdone, just quality baking done right. Absolutely wonderful, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Some of my favorites are the sea salt chocolate chip, raspberry pistachio amour, and German chocolate thumbprint.

If you’re looking for a sweet treat for yourself or something delicious to bring as a dessert for loved ones, pop into this West Adams cookie shoppe. It’s always a delight to visit Lara at fleurs et sel for a cookie, she bakes the best in town and nobody hustles harder. Her Peanut Butter Yum cookie is my go-to — even better with the Strawberry Confiture or paired with a Raspberry & Rose Thumbprint cookie — and if you need a pick-me-up, the Fleur D’Oranger Latte is a dulce de leche, orange, cinnamon dream, especially alongside its namesake cookie. Merci, Lara!

Ok so seriously these are hands down without argument, THE BEST cookies I’ve had in my life! Try them ALL, they will not disappoint, but my favorites are the cinnamon snickerdoodle and the peanut butter. I really enjoyed the earl gray sugar cookie as well and the oatmeal raisin cookie is crazy good!!! And the Matcha cookie is chefs kiss!!

Amazing Options of Cookies! The owner is very nice and an amazing person. The cookies I had were all amazing. Soft in the middle, crispy and very delicious. Coffee or Milk definitely recommend. So many options of cookies to choose from so of my faves are the Matcha White Chocolate, Sea Salt Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Walnut Chocolate Chip, and Cookie Butter. You can also pre-order the cookies online to just pick-up. The Most memorable part is the amazing and Wonderful Owner Lara. She is amazing and her cookie/treats are magical. 10/10 Recommend making trip, but be warned, you'll be hooked.

I've been A HUGE FAN of Fleur et Sel since the days they're still doing weekly cookie drop for pickup at the owner's house, Lara. I witnessed how she's been so faithful in building her business up until it reached the current size, and I couldn't be happier for her finally making her dreams came true setting up her own cookie shop. Her menu even has expanded massively with tons of awesome new flavors which have continuously amused me and extended my already long list of favorite ones. My forever go-to cookies were their Nutella, PB Nutella, Funfetti, Cookie Butter, Toffee Butterscotch, and doubtlessly the default Sea Salt Chocolate Chip. The cookie texture was just perfect with right level of gooeyness just like how I loved my cookies. The toppings and stuffing were so generous, elevating the overall taste of the already delightful cookie base. Recently she created more inventions beyond cookies as she brought up Funfetti Blondie and 7 Layer Bars, which were just as AMAZING. My top highlight from this bakery was surely Lara, the owner, who was probably the most welcoming and most genuine person I met, whom I initially met as a cookie seller but now I happily called as a kind-hearted humble friend. If you say you love cookies but haven't tried Fleur et Sel, you've surely been missing out!

After a long line at Ross dress for less, 😒😏i needed a drink 🍸 and a break. So i walked right in and Sat barside. I chose off the shot lists. Whatever it was was pretty damn good. 🤣hell i dont remember it. 🤣🤣🤣 Tasted sweet, so good that i ordered 2 of them! My other half had a Cherry Coke that tasted amazing by the way. Thanks to the sweetest bartender ever for small talk and great drinks! Great customer service, security were nice at the door. Clean atmosphere. Very nice place. Loved our time there.

Drinks were decent, that’s about all this place had to offer. Service was terrible, not sure if that’s because the bartenders were taking shots right over the ice well 🤷‍♂️. They claim no refunds as well, so if you have an issue be sure to take it up with your bank before you try dealing with the incompetent staff.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this bar. My friends and I were excited to attend because they were showcasing a boxing match, and we thought it would be the perfect spot to watch it. We called ahead to inquire about capacity and cover charges and were told over the phone that there was still plenty of space upstairs for the fight and no cover charge. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find out there was indeed a door charge. Despite this, we decided to pay the entry fee because we were assured there was space upstairs. To our dismay, when we reached the upstairs area, we discovered that there were NO TVs. This was the very reason we had come to the bar in the first place - to watch the fight. Feeling deceived, we asked for a refund, especially since the main floor was completely booked with no standing room available. As we attempted to request a refund, the bouncer/door guy was incredibly rude and disrespectful. The two gentlemen in front of us who had the same experience were issued their money back with no problem. Another employee, whom we assumed was a manager, further escalated the situation by accusing us of lying and claiming they didn't do refunds. The unprofessionalism and dishonesty displayed by the staff was disappointing. I have never felt compelled to write such a negative review before, but I feel it's important to warn others, especially women, about the behavior of the male employees at this establishment. I'm sure it matters not but we have no intention of returning to this bar, and I sincerely hope that other patrons are spared from similar experiences. Hopefully, they will be another bar that has come and gone and replaced with an establishment that deserves to be there.

Hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a bar. I went to Hank’s with some friends to grab a drink, but the night quickly took a turn for the worst. Upon arrival, the manager Jeremy was noticeably intoxicated and continued to drink throughout the night. As he got more and more drunk, he became increasingly more aggressive towards both the customers, and members of his staff. At some point, he began belligerently threatening an innocent bar patron that had asked him a simple question. He continued to make his staff uncomfortable by verbally abusing them in front of customers and stumbling around the bar making demands. I’ve never seen such a display of blatant unprofessionalism in my life. I will absolutely not be returning to this bar, nor would I recommend it to anybody.

My new best friend bar You know the point in the night where conversations reach their peak volume. Suddenly everybody in the bar is your new best friend and you are dying to tell them your life story. Not realizing how drunk you actually are, you promise to stay in touch. These are the conversations I have every time I visit this place only that I keep in touch and continue to meet amazing people. The tavern is becoming my bar of choice for everything to feel welcomed and loved I recommend you attend any day and you will not want to leave .

Hello, I had a great time at the bar. Excellent service and a great selection of brews! Curious—I had paid with my card with the good barkeeps there but I forgot to tell them I was closing out, even though they gave me my card back. How can we process a payment to go through so that we can become even stevens? Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!

Milk Bar, led by renowned pastry chef Christina Tosi, is a bakery known for its creative and unique desserts. One of their most famous creations is the birthday cake, featuring three layers of confetti-strewn vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and topped with cookie-dough-like crumbs. Another popular item on their menu is the signature macaroon ice cream sandwiches, which offer a combination of rich ice cream flavors sandwiched between handmade macaroons.
Milk Bar’s ice cream is amazing! The soft serve with corn flakes and sprinkles is super fun and tasty. Crunchy, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. It’s a little pricey for the size, but totally worth it as a treat once in a while. Definitely a must-try if you’re looking for something different and delicious!

quick service, staff were nice. they have a few seating outside and there's a room inside for classes which i think is cool. ice cream is meh personally. at least the one we got
Annie — Google review
The soft serve is good and their cakes are solid but their cookies are the worst I’ve ever had. It’s hard to mess up a cookie but they do. If you like a stick of butter in each item this is your place! The staff here is also super miserable and hate working there. It’s an ice cream cake dessert place. Customers want to feel good walking in here. I remember I went in once when they were running a free soft serve promotion and was all excited. The lady working there couldn’t smile was absolutely miserable and literally didn’t respond when I brought up promotion. Go to one of the many amazing ice cream cake shops in Los Angeles. Magnolia bakery isn’t too far from here.

We tried the soft serve, the build-a-pint and the cookies as well. Service was great, and the ice cream was fantastic. They only had two flavors of ice cream and I went for the cereal milk ice cream one and completely loved it. I also paired it with a chocolate chip cookie and it went well. The flavor reminded me a bit of vanilla with a hint of salt caramel ice cream for some reason. Would definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again.

This is a cafe I visited during my trip to the United States! As I heard, it's so delicious! All the desserts here looked so delicious However, I chose a pie from among them, and it was a really good choice. I will visit again the next time I come on a trip.

Milk Bar.. it was more like Potato Chips. Not sure if we went on an off day but it was .. salty. Weird tasting. 🥴. I’ll be honest, We were expecting like super milky creamy Sweet smooth soft serve.. 🍦! This was our first time there and they offered a sample. We tried it and my son had an immediate reaction on his face and mouthed the word ‘salty?’ But the Cashier girl was just starting at us, eye pressured and sure.. I didn’t want to be rude.. at that time they were the only ice cream shop open that late .. we were the only customers. Do we leave? Do we stay? Maybe it was just that flavor that tasted salty.. so we ordered 2 cups.. and nope, the 2 flavors we got were salty. We politely tried our best to finish it, couldn’t down it all. Highly unlikely we will ever go back. If you go, ask for a sample 1st and eat the sample outside. Staff was great 👍🏼. Super friendly, store was clean, parking is good. We also got a cookie and that was good.

Bakers Bench is a popular pop-up stand located in Chinatown's Far East Plaza, known for its delectable plant-based pastries. Led by pastry expert Jennifer Yee, who honed her skills at renowned restaurants like Jean-Georges and The French Laundry, Bakers Bench offers an array of vegan treats including chocolate cookies, muffins, and their standout item - the croissants.
I made it there 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday. Their service was great and the pastries are delicious. The garden area outside is so serene and unexpected. Looking towards it from the street you'd never know it has this cute little area.

For a vegan bakery, it’s pretty up there. My second time here and they had new items that weren’t there before. Our favorites are the eggroll croissant, the tomato croissant, the onion croissant, and the furikake croissant! Service is great and both times we had a peaceful Sunday morning breakfast in the courtyard.
BEN L — Google review
Absolutely phenomenal. The egg roll croissant (pictured) is one of the best things I have ever tasted. The flavor creations in all their pastries are next level. The pastries are top tier. In addition to the egg roll croissant, I’ve had the corn chili oil danish, mulberry black sesame danish, focaccia sandwich, and cinnamon twist. Lovely service from Caroline, as well. This will be my regular spot for divine pastries.
Jaylene W — Google review
This bakery is serving some of the best pastries in LA - especially their croissants! I believe everything is vegan but when you try them, they taste like their non-vegan counterparts. I love that they have seasonal savory pastries in their case! They have a nice patio area that is shared between the few restaurants/cafes as well so you can relax.
Lydia C — Google review
“Excuse me, which ones are vegan?” “Oh, they’re all vegan” I wanted to cry 😭! Her name was Moss (I hope I spelled her name right), she was so lovely and let me know more about their kitchen/bakery and all their amazing pastries. I didn’t know which ones to get, luckily I brought my little family so we can try many. They were so delicious, so amazingly good. My son loved his croissant and he’s very picky, they have to be flaky and crispy and not dense. I’m so glad daughter wanted to brownie, it’s so yummy and huge so you can easily split it and have 2-4 pieces. The bakery spot they’re at is small but charming, we ate our treats outside and loved the whole experience. Next time we visit LA we are definitely coming here for croissants, pastries and coffee!! again!!
Jasmine O — Google review
My daughter absolutely loves Baker Bench. It’s a wonderful bakery especially for people who have certain dietary restrictions as the pastries are vegan. Everything that we had was delicious. The croissants were unfortunately sold out by the time we got there. I especially liked the butterscotch candy. It reminded me of a soft coconut candy with a salty taste. There was plenty of seating outside and some inside.
Eri S — Google review
First of all, I’m not vegan, however you don’t have to be to enjoy these TREATS. In a blind taste test I would not be able to tell the difference. Bakers Bench has perfected these recipes and the hard work pays off. Super cute spot with a beautiful backyard right next door to Heavy Water(also phenomenal) can’t wait to walk here everyday and get myself a sweet little treat. The chocolate croissant had to be my favorite but the sesame cookie was insane, the cinna knot thing was so gooey inside again it’s hard to believe there not butter and milk in these bad boys. Apricot danish was also heavenly and apricot is not even my favorite!!! Can’t wait to try literally everything 12/10 stars if I could 🤯

Pizza Takeout
Gjelina Take Away is a trendy carry-out joint located on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, known for its upscale versions of pizza and sandwiches. The restaurant specializes in New American Cuisine, offering locally-sourced, produce-forward food. It is part of the Gjelinas Group, which also includes the popular Westside eatery Gjusta.
Gjelina Take Away provides a few high tops and a bench out in the front to enjoy your take-out. The space is small but efficient. This is a pizza focused review, as I've only had slices and take-out pizza. The Margherita Pizza slice is one of the best slices I've ever had. The fresh basil is generously spread on top of a bed of balanced marinara sauce and medallions of cheese. The crust is thin and calculated with just the right amount of char. The Margherita is perfect, but I have also tried the burrata and mushroom pizzas for take-out, and they're just as amazing.
Jonathan Z — Google review
Gjelina Take Away is such a win. The squash blossom pizza and the Margherita both hit that perfect balance of light crust, gentle char, and bright flavor. The Caesar is crisp and fresh with a punchy dressing, the turkey sandwich is exactly what you want for an everyday bite, and we ended with the date cake, which was a happy wow. Huge thank you to Xio for the thoughtful recommendations and for being so kind even though we arrived right before closing. From the street it looks like there is no seating, but there is actually a good amount tucked inside, so it works for a quick bite. The whole experience feels effortless and a little European. Honest take, I prefer the pizza here to Gjelina itself.
Maryam — Google review
It is hard for me to overstate how horribly cooked and bad the meat was for their “wagyu” brisket banh mi. It was 30% gristle and what was meat had been cooked to a wonderful rubber / rock like texture. Comically bad for a $25 sandwich. This place should be embarrassed to charge so much for food and serve such low quality slop.
Noah D — Google review
LA has many great places to order a tuna melt. Unfortunately, gjelina is not one of them. the tuna was lackluster and the only flavor came from the butter on the bread. I’d stick to ordering pizzas here (the squash blossom is delicious).

This was one of my best brunches on my recent LA trip. Sure, it might’ve been an hour wait, but here in Melbourne, the top breakfast places on the weekend, you’re waiting a similar amount of time. I enjoyed the food and the menu, it was a bit hard to choose what I wanted! The pancakes were amazing, coffee was slightly on the bitter side. The staff were attentive and friendly. I’d go back and try the dinner menu.

Destroyer, located in Culver City, is a daytime-only spot led by renowned chef Jordan Kahn. The minimalist cafe offers inventive Scandinavian-style breakfast and lunch fare with meticulous attention to detail. Known for its otherworldly presentation and high-quality ingredients, Destroyer serves aesthetically pleasing dishes that could rival those of upscale restaurants.
Definitely one of the most inventive brunches I've ever had. This felt honestly like it could have been a 1 star Michelin experience, so for that I do not have an issue with the price ($$-$$$). The presentation, taste, and ingredients were ON POINT. We had the avocado toast confit, beef tartare, cauliflower leek soup, and espresso shortcake, all of which were amazing. Cauliflower leek soup was definitely the surprise winner of the meal. I rarely order soups at restaurants, so maybe that was part of it, but it truly was I think the most delicious soup I've ever had, with interesting garnishes like smoked trout roe and a dollop of embered cream. The espresso shortcake was surprisingly good too (I am not typically a big fan of dry crumbly biscuits like shortbread), like a tiramisu cookie!

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. The food is absolutely insane. Fresh. Seasonal. Extremely well done. Flavors and combinations are unparalleled. The care and attention to detail in every bite and ingredient shines through strong. 12/10 recommend

The matcha croissant is a must try! Visiting LA for a few days and saw a lot of recommendation for this place. Ordered some bakery items and brunch items. The matcha croissant is my absolute favorite, croissant is super crisp and filled with matcha paste in the middle. Also loved the beef tartare, first time finishing the chip before the meat in a tartare dish haha. Also liked the porridge (not pictured) - super flavorful and creative. Didn’t like the French toast that much - a little too sweet. Seating can be limited especially when there’s good weather. On the pricier side ~$60pp post tax and tip

One of the more unique spots to grab some lunch! I've never been disappointed by the food, it's always amazing and so inventive. My favorite I've ever had is probably the schnitzel but this time around I had the BLT (pictured) and was not disappointed, it was super cool the way it was plated. The only thing I was a bit disappointed by this time around - I've seen people refer to it as a brunch spot and since they have a long list of coffee and a waffle item on the menu, it's definitely brunch - however they don't really offer any more traditional savory breakfast items/egg dishes. You can add an egg to anything they have but there's nothing on the menu with it already included. It took me a long time to decide because I was hoping to get something with eggs. I would love to see them put a hash on the menu, they certainly could do something cool!

I loved Destroyer! It’s a cute day time spot with all outdoor seating near some gorgeous buildings in the design district. The staff were super considerate of my tree nut allergy and referenced a menu with an ingredient list for every item. We ordered the sweet potato waffle, schnitzel, rice porridge, and some drinks. Everything was great! Only thing I thought could be better was the yuzu spritz. Overall, I’d recommend Destroyer!

Brady's Bakery is a bakery that specializes in baking plus-sized cookies and bread pudding, both of which are made in small batches to ensure the highest quality. The bakery is located in a town near Boston, and social media has helped to spread the word about this unique business.
Be prepared, you will pull up to a ghost kitchen, but that does not take away from these incredible cookies. They might be the best that I’ve ever had. They are thick and crunchy on the outside and gooey in the center. From my knowledge, they change up a few of the flavors for different seasons and continue to have their classics. They are always bake fresh to order and given to you warm one of my favorite cookie spots in LA!
Jessica V — Google review
I miss the days of dealing with people, an actual store and customer service. Pulled up to the front door and theres a sign that says “pickup in the back in the alley” No getting to see the cookie before buying or sampling and figuring it out or asking about textures and flavors. You’re buying on a hope and a prayer 20 min wait if you’re not ordering pickup. I had to knock and the worker couldn’t figure out her own QR code and asked me to just use uber eats to make it easier on both of us. Now finally to the cookie. Gooey, warm , salted but not too much. Honestly it had no flaws and i wish i ordered more than one because it was amazing

Brady’s Bakery is hands down one of the TOP 3 cookie spots in LA. The chocolate chip with sea salt is my favorite—it’s thick, soft, gooey in the middle, with a perfect balance of chocolate goodness. The cookies are BAKED TO ORDER, so they’re always fresh and extra delicious. Also, the baker? He’s as cute as Paul Rudd in Clueless when he gives that smoldering look. 🔥

Brady’s Bakery has completely ruined other cookies for me—in the best way. Every cookie has that perfect crunch on the outside and stays soft and gooey on the inside—seriously addictive. You can’t go wrong with any flavor. And the bread pudding? Absolute must-have. It’s comfort food on a whole other level. Friendly vibes, incredible treats—this place is a gem!

Known as “Cookies & Cream” shop on Doordash. Brady’s Cookies are prewrapped and hard by the delivery option (offered via their website and DoorDash - verified & photos included)…. They do not taste good and are no where close to being fresh. A convenience store cookie is more fresh, softer, and better. The ice cream (not from them but another community brand) is actually good but the cookies & overall place is a no go.... Updated: To clarify and respond to you declining these are your cookies… I have added another photo to show proof of your branding and your exact cookie look. Your official website even redirects to a secondary location. Check out all my screenshots and it will show the link. An additional screenshot shows your prepackaged set of cookies with a great review & you said thanks. Address reviews. Don’t deflect and pretend it isn’t you. You brought this from a poor experience review to an unethical game. I’m copying your screenshot - to make sure it remains in Google history. All: My review is to provide the community knowledge - since we wasted $50. It might be amazing in person but do not do the delivery Togo store game on DoorDash. Do as you please. Just know that they play a game on DoorDash.

Leaving a review is typically something you do when you have a really good experience or something went insanely bad. From my five stars, you should assume this was a really really good experience. I rave about these cookies to my friends and family often. It has been 2 or 3 years since I had my last experience with these damn cookies and I can confidently say I will be coming back sooner rather than later. I prefer the baked to order vs packaged cookies, though there’s really no difference. I just love the way picking up that hot box full of cookies makes me feel! Thank you to the Brady’s team for such a delicious treat. They truly never miss. My favorite cookie to date is the toffee one - I hope she becomes a regular but if not that’s okay because all of the cookies are again - friggin delicious.

The shop offers a variety of traditional Danish pastries, cakes, and breads made on-site by Danish bakers using traditional recipes and methods. Visitors can sample the flaky and light pastries throughout the day while being guided by knowledgeable staff.
I really love this danish bakery, so glad it's located in Culver City. There are so many great baked goods at a decent price. There are nut free ones and there is one jelly pastry for those that are dairy free. They also have very pretty and delicious cakes, perfect for any occasion. I love coming here and getting an assortment of pastries for a gathering or for the office. It's always a treat and people are always impressed with the presentation.

This bakery is named after a city in Denmark, therefore it is a danish bakery. I really love the aesthetic. It’s very crisp and clean. Everything is very neat and simple. All the pastries are laid out and you can easily pick and the aesthetic is pristine. The cakes are so tasty and luscious and moist definitely worth a try. I can’t imagine being disappointedthis service is good as well. There’s always someone there who is attentive. I never have to wait long.

Copenhagen Pastry is a gem. I love the Scandinavian simplicity of the design — elegant, bright, and welcoming both inside and out. The Princess Cake was absolutely outstanding — soft sponge, perfectly balanced custard and raspberry jam, and that light almond layer on top was perfection. The owner was very attentive, and the service was smooth and genuine. You can feel the care in every detail.

Copenhagen Pastry in Culver City is pure pastry joy. I’ve now been twice, and let’s just say it’s officially joined my very exclusive LA bakery rotation (only two others have made the cut, so yes, it’s elite company). The staff are lovely: warm, helpful, and not at all judgy when you ask, “Should I get three pastries... or four?” (Spoiler: I got three.) I tried the kringle, spandauer, and raspberry pastry — all fabulous. The kringle is subtly sweet with nuts, almond paste, and custard. The spandauer was a staff pick and I get it — crisp, flaky, sweet but not cloying, and filled with almondy-custard goodness. Highly recommend. But the real MVP? That raspberry danish. Perfectly tart filling, buttery crunch, and just the right amount of sugar. The only downside? There isn't anywhere to sit to eat. I suppose that's a good thing because I'd just order more pastries. Can’t wait to return and slowly work my way through the entire menu. Stay flaky, Copenhagen.

Spectacular! Hands down the BEST pastries in all of the US (and I've had many). Buttery, sweet, but not overly sweet, flakey, fluffy yet chewy. I mean it hits everything you want in pastries. Don't get me started on the custard, its perfection. Service is always friendly, helpful and attentive. Been coming here for years this review is way overdue. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Restaurant
Bub and Grandma's Restaurant started as a popular wholesale bread bakery at the Hollywood Farmer's Market, gaining fame for its high-quality loaves that were sought after by various restaurants. The demand led to the establishment of a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Glassell Park. This trendy diner is known for its exceptional service and delicious sandwiches made with their freshly baked bread, which elevates the flavors to another level.
I’m midway through my delicious tuna sandwich and had to stop to write a review! I absolutely love this spot. Tuna sandwich is my favorite and I think I found my new restaurant. Their sandwiches are so delicious. Bread is so soft and egg tastes amazing. But I want to mention their almond croissant. That one is the best I’ve ever tried. Terribly salty chicken curry ( to the point that I can’t even eat it ) and very average salad $20… doesn’t worth it! Servers saw me waiting 5 minutes inside at the wrong register to order a take out, and nobody says anything! At the end they told me go outside and order behind the window.

First time at Bub & Grandma's after hearing so many good things and my expectations were far exceeded. Great space with a fun vibe. We sat at the counter which was lovely because you get to watch the team work. They were all so sweet and friendly. The food was so good! We had the brisket sandwich and the Italian plus a side sampler plate. We almost burst eating it all but it was just so good! The staff brought us a complimentary side of bread with butter and jam as a sweet treat to end off with and when I tell you I was eating that jam with a spoon I am not exaggerating. It was delicious! I took home a loaf of foccacia and it was gone before the next day. Irresistible! So happy to add Bub & Grandma's to my restaurant rotation!!!

We didn’t dine in, we ordered at the walk up window. We came for the cinnamon buns and they did not disappoint! They were soft and flavorful and creamy. We also ordered a couple of lattes, they were fine. I will be back for those cinnamon buns!
Raquel G — Google review
Having heard of Bub and Grandma's throughout LA and having sampled their bread at countless sandwich shops, bars, and restaurants, there was no doubt I had to go straight to the source and see what they were serving up at B&G's own establishment. The place itself is incredible. It's spacious, clean, and has an open kitchen with a bar close enough that you practically grab food right off the flat top. It's both modern and retro without leaning into the corny excesses of either style. Soon after we entered, a live jazz trio began drawling out tunes -- a fortunate amusement considering how long it took to get our meal. I ordered the roast beef au jus sandwich plus a druid beer (fungally inspired), and my friend ordered a prickly pear soda. The drinks came out, and that was the first letdown. The beer had only the slightest, imaginary hint of mushroom flavor, and was more or less indistinguishable from your average middle of the road brew. It wasn't bad, but I was expecting something unique for 9$. I guess not. The prickly pear soda was even worse. Both of us agreed it had almost no flavor. It was hardly more than a sparkling water with maybe a bit of cinnamon in it, and tasted nothing like prickly pear. The spices seemed to have settled at the bottom, but stirring them in did almost nothing to alleviate the blandness. After waiting 30 minutes, and seeing plates go out to people beside us that had come in much later, we were finally handed our first plate of food, straight from the kitchen. It was, I think, the carpaccio platter. We said we had not ordered it, so the kitchen staff rung it up, only for the waitress to bring it right back to us before realizing I had ordered the roast beef sandwich. Fortunately, it came out pretty quick after that. The sandwich itself was delicious. It gushed like a sponge when taking a bite out of it, with au jus pushing the limit of saltiness (in a good way). The bread had excellent structure and handled soaking the juice in style. The beef was layered thickly. There was no shortage of meat between those buns. The potato chips were great too. Thick, crispy, but not too hard or brittle. The pickle, again, was disappointing, though. It had almost no saltiness or acidity to it. I see that they have the same pickle platter as Belle's so I wonder if there's a malicious pickle supplier out there that's convinced everyone that soggy cucumbers are delicious.

I've been here 3 times, I've eaten twice. I always get a vibe like they think that I'm lucky to be there. It puts me off. When it's busy it's really busy, I've waited over 30 minutes, and I loathe waiting for a seat. They have a hostess desk outside, but no hostess. Hopefully a waiter inside will get a spare minute to come out and help you. They wanted me to wait for a seat at the 1/3rd full counter. The food is good, I've had breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. The prices are high, like $7 for a side of bacon high. Street parking is extremely limited. I walked out today (at noon) because, though they close at 2, they stop serving breakfast at 11. I don't care for restaurants that value their convenience over my appetite. I live nearby but I won't be back.

"Just What I Kneaded" is an easygoing bakery located in Frogtown, offering a delightful selection of seasonal vegan pastries and baked goods. The charming all-vegan bakery by Justine Hernandez features a rotating menu of plant-based sandwiches, biscuits, pies, cookies, galettes, quiches, and breakfast burritos. During the day, visitors can enjoy colorful pop tarts and cinnamon rolls with lemon zest cream cheese frosting along with a full coffee program.
I honestly found this place from a Reddit review and I am in no way disappointed! We decided this would be our last stop on our way back home and now I’m so sad that I won’t be able to look at my local vegan breakfast burrito the same way. I ate the entire thing even though I breached full halfway through - I just couldn’t fathom wasting it! I absolutely got a cinnamon roll to go. I’m not passing up that opportunity either! The staff and atmosphere were 10/10! Such incredible personalities that fit with the vibe. I felt right at home with the staff and the patrons of the restaurant. I am so glad I was directed here, this made the trip to LA so worth it!

Honestly, I hate writing this because I always want to support veg establishments, but this burrito was just one of the worst things I’ve had in a long time. So extremely dry and bland. I specifically requested no avocados and lo and behold, avocados. I’m allergic so this is not great for me. On top of that, for a $19 burrito to just be two frozen just egg patties and un melted slices of cheese… do better. I took one bite and threw the rest away. I tried to contact the restaurant but their line automatically goes to a full mailbox.

Hands down my favorite vegan café in LA. The pancakes are the best pancakes I have ever tried and I have all over the world. I don’t know how the chef does it but hats off to him or her. The staff are so pleasant and kind and the atmosphere is very chill And relaxed. It is an inclusive and open space. The breakfast wrap is also to die for so glad that we came here all the way from Vancouver BC and looking forward to coming here again another time!

Best vegan breakfast biscuit you’ll ever find! I’ll have to update my review ones I make my way down the menu since all I’ve had since I found this place it’s their breakfast biscuits. Yes, they’re that good :-p

Pistachio donut was amazing. Absolutely in love with this place. It’s by the trail, nice place to pop by if you’re ridding around.

Cute atmosphere. The Gf biscuit sandwich for almost $20 is too dry. The herbaceous flavor of the gf dough is great-but it’s really dense and there’s not much else going on to make up for the price. That said, I’m interested in coming back for baked goods.

My absolute favorite bakery! Everything they sell is delicious, especially the biscuit sandwiches. I bought one of their cakes for a friend's birthday and it was absolutely beautiful and everyone loved it! Nobody knew it was vegan. I tell everyone to go here, vegan or not. Their new remodel has made the outdoor area a super enjoyable place to hang out as well.

Delicious food, courteous and fun service. This place seems to be a hidden gem. Never would've known it was there. Kind of hidden away but lots of people know about it as it's quite busy. There was a line to order but moved fairly quickly. The staff was pleasant, made some jokes as I was ordering, and were very courteous. Food was served in a timely manner. I ordered the Crunch Wrap and a hot Vanilla Latte. My friend ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie. Everything was delicious. The Crunch Wrap was very flavorful and tasty. Definitely recommend it. And I'll certainly return again. Parking is a bit difficult in the area as it's pretty much in the middle of a residential area and few small businneses. I happened to find decent parking on the corner as we were having an early meal around 10am but by the time we were leaving around 2pm folks were having a hard time finding parking and could hardly wait for me to move. But the eatery itself was great.

Beverly Hills Cookies is a delightful shop located in the heart of Beverly Hills, offering an array of delectable treats such as gelato, cookies, milkshakes, and coffee. The shop provides a haven for those with a sweet tooth and offers gluten-free and vegan options. Customers can also enjoy delicious ice cream and sorbet, making it the perfect destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary experience.
These cookies are ridiculous! And I mean that in the best way ever. They are massive and delicious. Stopped by on a whim after dinner next door at Matu and I'm so glad we did! I got the chocolate chip with walnuts. Gooey and sweet perfection in every bite!
Candie B — Google review
These cookies are $6 each for their regular cookies, I'm not sure if gluten free have different prices or what the non cookie items cost. They're hefty and loaded with toppings. They're also soft baked but the texture varies depending on the cookie. I tried the chocolate chunk, triple chocolate fudge, and s'mores. The chocolate chunk is fantastic. Chewy, chocolatey, not overly sweet, and thick. It didn't blow me away with anything unique but it was a solid chocolate chip cookie. The triple chocolate fudge was gooey and fudgey. It was noticeably flatter than the other two and the shape/appearance wasn't as appealing as the other two, but it was still a great tasting cookie. I was surprised that this wasn't sweeter than the chocolate chunk I think it was about equal. And very chocolatey so I enjoyed it. My least favorite had to be the s'mores. Again the positive being that it wasn't overly sweet. But it was noticeably over-baked by both the appearance and texture. Unlike a good crispy cookie with a soft center, this was just dried out from baking and the marshmallows became dried out and papery. I didn't get much of a "s'mores" taste. I think there's a better value at Fleur Et Sels between the tastes, flavor combos, and size. But I wouldn't mind trying BH Cookies again

One of the best cookies I’ve ever had! Honorable mention to David, who showed us all of the cookie flavors and was so so sweet! If you are visiting or live in Berverly Hills, you should definitely give it a try!

We soent $30+ for half-baked cookies. The flavor of the cookies were consistently flavorful, but a half-baked cookie is a thumbs down.

Ordered cookies to be shipped as gift. Website states you will "see multiple shipping options-you can choose the rate & speed that works best", but my order defaulted to UPS Ground only; no other options & no timeframe noted. Site also says cookies "best enjoyed within 2-4 days". Shipped Tuesday, Oct. 7th, received a full week later on Tuesday, Oct. 14th at 7:41 p.m. Instead of my friend receiving a nice surprise, I had to reach out & let her know how old the food was. Best part? She was shorted a cookie. Not that it matters since I advised her to just toss them, but certainly added insult to injury. Reached out both via email & through the website & have received only inconsistent & intermittent responses every so often. Was once offered refund, then when I responded I just wanted my friend to receive fresh cookies, I was thanked for bringing the shipping issue to their attention & assured it's been fixed. That's it. No refund, no offer to replace the order or at least make good on the missing cookie. $64.39 for absolutely nothing. Cannot recommend ordering online from this company.

INSANE. I wish I could give 10 stars these are the best cookies in the world. The atmosphere is superb, amazing vibe to hangout and service is so generous. Sarah was so helpful and Wendy is always amazing and generous. Had seriously the best time and will choose Beverly Hills cookies everytime.

Unfortunately for me I’ve found my new vice. After my wife ordered 3 cookies (one of the Dubai Chocolate Chip Pistachio, Chocolate Chunk, and Oatmeal Cranberry Cookie) yesterday, I had to get them as another treat today. To say they are phenomenal cookies would be the understatement of the year. I was so blown away by the quality that I phoned up the owners and had a lovely conversation with Barry and Wendy about their process and what’s to come. They’re both very friendly and give exceptional customer service that is hard to find nowadays. Will probably stop by in store to get the full experience, and will recommend Beverly Hills Cookies to all my friends and family as we head into the holiday season.

Petitgrain Boulangerie, located in Santa Monica, California, has quickly become known for its exceptional croissants. The bakery is run by Clemence de Lutz and Tony Hernandez, who prioritize traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients. Despite being a new establishment, it has already garnered a devoted following evident from the long lines and high demand for their pastries. Customers have expressed satisfaction with the quality of the baked goods and have eagerly anticipated future visits.
Delicious almond croissant! Flaky and buttery. It seems like the almond cream baked into the layers, not a blob in the middle like most places. The top is crunchy with sugared almond slices. Well worth the $6.50 treat. This is most likely the best almond croissant I’ve had in LA. The coffee is good too. I only wish there was a second bench outside to sit & enjoy.
Taylor — Google review
Love this place: the atmosphere is that of a small artisan bakery with flour sacks and jars of homemade jam everywhere. Very tastefully decorated and with an open kitchen at the back that lets you see how they prepare everything from scratch. Coffee is great and their pastries look amazing BUT are absolutely drenched in butter and so full of fat that I don’t think I’ll go back to buy any again.
Oana G — Google review
Petitgrain Boulangerie was named one of “the best bakeries in the country right now” by The Infatuation — and honestly? It didn’t just live up to the hype, it baked it into a perfect croissant and served it warm. Yes, there’s usually a line, but it’s never more than 20–25 minutes, aka, less time than I’ve waited for worse things. Metered parking out front or nearby street spots make it easy. Everything I’ve tried is a 5/5. The cinnamon roll, pain aux raisin (raisin bread), lemon pistachio croissant, pain aux chocolate (chocolate bread), quiche, and jambon gruyere (ham and Gruyère cheese). Even the “worst” thing here (looking at you, blueberry scone) would be the best item at another fancy bakery. Items rotate, so bring a backup craving — they will sell out. Also, I love that they buy their organic flours and local produce from Santa Monica Farmers Market. I wouldn't wake up at 6 AM if it were my wedding day, but I'd gladly do so for a heavenly bite of one of Petitgrain's pastries. Eating their baked goods is like a religious experience for me, albeit, I'm not religious - pastries so divine they could convert me. Four visits in eight weeks... and counting.

Heard it has the best pastries in LA. I already had breakfast so I left them until late afternoon and they were still crispy. Wish the chocolate one could have more chocolate with it but it’s just my personal thought. I think I would also skip the plain 🥐. I knew what it would taste like XD

Came here again to my favorite lingerie a.k.a. my favorite croissant shop probably in Los Angeles definitely in Santa Monica…. Everything is a home run here. I don’t know what you’re calling but they’re all delicious. Service is very good and attentive and I always leave a little tip for the guys/girls that work hard behind the counter..: at 8am there’s already lying so be prepared to wait patiently because when you get your box of pastries, it’s a home run…. BTW, I love the banana bread and the chocolate croissants and everything so thank you and keep up the good work!
Mr. E — Google review
Super yummy pastry and coffee shop! It's wedged in between other stores on a busy street, so it's easy to miss. When we went, it was early afternoon, so most of their pastries were already sold out. I absolutely loved their blueberry scone though. One of the best scones I've had! It wasn't too sweet, both soft and flakey , and went well with my latte. They don't have any seating besides a small bench outside, so it's more of a grab and go place. They use local ingredients and everything is made fresh; you can watch goodies being made in the back of the store. Service was lovely and welcoming. Overall great coffee shop!
Maika R — Google review
The only item I tried here was their croissant. It was pretty good—very buttery—but overall really good. I don’t think I would come back and wait in line just for a croissant, but I would say it’s a spot to check out. I didn’t try it myself, but I heard there was some disappointment with the cinnamon roll.

Clark Street Bread is a popular bakery located in the historic Grand Central Market, offering artisanal breads three days a week. What started as a small stall has now expanded to include two additional bakeries and a diner. The bakery's founder, Zack Hall, initially baked his remarkable breads in his West Hollywood apartment before gaining attention from local chefs and restaurants through Instagram. The success led to the opening of a production and retail space in Echo Park.
They make great bread and pastries. I’ve only made it to this location, but I’d love to try some of their hot food at their other spots around town. Get a slab of focaccia if it’s available, it is soaked in olive oil. And do not skip on the Kouign Amann. Their version is snail shaped, so every little bit of pastry gets that sugary buttery crunch.

Really enjoyed the avocado toast (with optional egg on top). Bread is chewy, crusty and warm. Avocado is freshly smashed with some guacamole like texture and some firmer sliced avocado texture. Topped with red paper flakes, lemon juice and salt for a bright, lightly spiced flavor that balances out the earthiness nicely. Hard boiled egg on top mostly adds visual flair and protein. I managed to eat this with my hands without too much mess which I thought was pretty amazing. Service was good and cheerful which is really impressive when you consider it is hot as [insert favorite term here] in the market

I usually go to Clark Street Echo Park but wanted to check out this Central Market location. It's a small stand with a smaller, selected pastry offering, but still has the essential items like croissants and scones. I had a monkey bread and wow I really liked it, especially the fine, crispy layers are surprisingly good. I also had a walnut loaf. The taste is pretty good but the portion is definitely on the smaller side.

How did I just find this place?! Was at Grand Central Market looking for spices when I came across these beautiful looking baguettes. They looked toasty. Very pleasing to the eyes. Really wish I'd taken pictures. The baguette was delicious. There was a hint of something I can't describe. It was fresh, it was a party for my taste buds. I will most definitely be back and will try the pastries too.

Shopping at the Grand Central Market is such a goodie experience. Clark street has a stall there and you can smell their yeasty breads before you see them. They make the best crunchy baguette. It’s so perfect that while you are at the market, you can pick up butter or cheese to go with their baked goods. Definitely check them out.
Amy D — Google review
The Country bread was great, the Almond pastry was great, but...when I called the number listed by google, I found out when I arrived at the DTLA location that the phone number is for a different location. They didn't mention that when I called, or even ask which location I was calling about, so the DTLA location didn't have the Raisin Walnut bread, or the Banana bread, or the Chibatta bread that I asked about. The prices are a bit expensive, but they're legit for the quality of the products, so don't expect grocery store white bread prices or Dunkin' Donuts processed pastries. The almond pastry costs like $4, but after warming it in my convection oven was worth every penny.

It's like a sweet symphony for your taste buds, made with 100% organic milk. Now, I must admit, the taro flavor didn't quite hit the mark for me - it was more sweet than taro-tastic. But I was totally digging the lovely purple color.
Paprika M — Google review
Disappointed with the Quality,Needs Better Training I was really looking forward to trying this place, but the experience fell short. The ice cream came out completely flat—nothing like the full, fluffy swirls you’d expect or what’s shown in their signage. It was honestly disappointing, especially for a shop that seems to look good itself on presentation. It looks like the machine wasn’t ready or the mix wasn’t properly handled. Staff should be better trained to recognize when the ice cream isn’t coming out right. At the very least, test the machine before serving the first cup to a customer. Quality control matters, especially when people are paying premium prices for a specialty treat.

Stopped by for an afternoon treat, and the shop was empty. It is a bit pricey for soft serve ice cream, but you're paying for quality. It's worth an occasional splurge. I tried the chocolate x Korean coffee, which was a bit too sweet for me. Ended up with the classic true milk x matcha. Got the Oreo topping - really like how super fine the crumbs are. Would like to try their croffle one day on an empty stomach.
Pauline H — Google review
Looking around for dessert in Little Tokyo and stumbled upon this cute little shop. Decided to go with croffle soulmate with true milk ice cream. The man that served the ice cream was kind enough to offer a topping to go with it (options were sprinkles, cereal, and oreo). We chose sprinkles. I already loved croissant bread, and now croissant waffle?! He heated up the croffle for a couple minutes, he then put the ice cream on the side of that. The first bite was absolutely heavenly, such perfect pairing with the milk ice cream. The second and remainder of the bite was still heavenly as the croffle was still warm. For the price of almost $10, it is quite a steep sweet treat. It is definitely a treat that you should try at least once.

I'm OBSESSED with this ice cream, and dare I say, it's my new FAVORITE soft serve OF ALL TIME! The taro milk tea flavor is perfectly sweet, and it's even better with the corn flakes toppings! We always make a trip here when in town, and their drip-proof cones make it easy to walk around with the ice cream after.🍦

I came here for the grand opening on June 1st and was able to try their Korean coffee flavor for the first time, which I was a huge fan of! I have been back three times to this location since then, aiming to try things that I have not previously done so. Today, I tried the croffle along with their matcha ice cream and it was great! It was just what I was looking for. Perfectly warm and crunchy from the caramelized sugar on the outside. I believe it was the owner who helped us today and he was so courteous to give us samples of the other flavors. He's truly proud of their product and believes in the quality they provide to their customers!

Hard to describe how great this cookie spot is. I’m not joking nor am I exaggerating at all when I say their cinnamon roll cookie is the best cookie I’ve ever had! Strolled in on a random Thursday for my first ever visit, heard some people claim their chocolate chip is one of the best in LA so had to find out for my self, but I asked the woman(possibly the owner not sure) for a recc besides the obvious, and she said they make this one cookie about twice a year since it’s a lot of work so naturally I felt super lucky and had to try it. And WOW was she right. Cinnamon roll in perfect cookie form is the best way I can describe it. What a treat. The choco chip was gooey and delicious but the star of the show.. we’ll you know by now. Eat their cookies!!

With a name like that, I guess you know what you’re in for. I got three cookies, the Monster (which is just a big chocolate chip cookie), the Aloha and Butter Pecan and they all just tasted like salt, butter and dark chocolate. Both the Aloha and Butter Pecan had no texture or flavor from the nuts because there were hardly any in there. The dark chocolate used in the Butter Pecan and Monster was good quality and all three cookies were nicely salted, but that’s the best compliment I can give. If you like Nestle Toll House cook dough, this place is for you.

This bakery lives up to its name. If it’s not the very best in the world then certainly it’s the very best in LA. All of their flavors are incredible and the texture is gooey and chewy. If I’m anywhere in a 2 mile radius I make it a point to stop in for a cookie (considering I’m always taking the 10 that’s been a bit troublesome for my sugar intake). 4.5/5 Very solid OG chocolate chip cookie. Definitely enjoyed it! The place is eclectic and the staff is really great! Only reason for 0.5 stars off is the price is a little steep for the size of the cookie (comes out to $66 for a dozen chocolate chip cookies). Still, definitely worth a try but I just feel like I might not be able to come as frequently as I’d like.

The cookie selection is extensive and includes mouthwatering options like chocolate chip macaroons and red velvet crackle cookies. One standout treat is their Snickerdoodle—so good it might just change your life!
Wow would be the only word that can accurately describe the Snickerdoodle here. If any cookie can change your life this cookie would be the one. Cupcakes were very good and the selection was quite large, especially considering the size of the store front. There is a fancy coffee machine for those who drink coffee. They make something called crack which is a brownie like bar. My wife had it and said the name is accurate. She would not share so i can't say anything about if first hand. Definitely worth a trip.

I go here almost every morning for coffee, and sometimes breakfast. Everything here is amazing. If you don't know what to get, just close your eyes and point; you won't be sorry! My personal breakfast favorites are the cranberry orange scones, and the cherry pie crumb bars (pumpkin pie in autumn!). If you try one of the granola bars, you will never be able to buy the grocery store granola bars ever again. And though they're probably not the best thing to eat for breakfast, the lemon cookies and snickerdoodles will blow your mind!

Visiting Santa Monica and I was recommended Huckleberry for breakfast. It was fantastic. Food was filling and delicious, the coffee was also tasty, and the staff was very friendly and helpful for a new customer like myself. Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor.

This is a MUST visit. Pastries were just perfect, sweet but not too much, fresh and creamy. Try the fruit tart if you can. The breakfast was also amazing. We enjoyed every bite. We ordered the breakfast burrito and the bagel. The atmosphere is great, busy but not annoying and there is parking everywhere

The pastries are delicious here! They're just the right size for a small breakfast paired with their coffee, or for a sweet treat in the middle of the day. I got the pumpkin pie slice and a kouign amann tart. The pie crust was super crispy on the edges and had great pumpkin flavor without being overly sweet. The whipped cream on top was a bonus and finished off the pie so well. Kouign amann was sticky and sweet, with a nice peachy surprise in the middle. All the fruit pastries I've tried here are really great.

The atmosphere is what makes this place special. The people here are unusually happy with their work. The scenery unfolds with lots of natural light coming into the cafe and the design of the place is so tranquil and pleasant for an eye. The place is on the pricey side yet it wins with the energy it brings.

We had a great experience! My girlfriend has some food sensitivities but there was plenty for her to eat here and the freshness made it feel better on her stomach. We got the quiche, summer burrata salad, and a scone to share along with coffee. As we ate, it felt fresh, light, and the perfect dishes to energize us for our day. Pros: - Great place to take a date or someone you want to impress with local food. - Food tasted fresh, homemade, and full of life. There was plenty of flavor and we had no issues with our food and drinks. - There was parking behind so commuting was easy. Cons: - The items are all over-priced for the portions you get. Nothing absurd, but I was surprised at how much it was in the end. I would love to go back but because of the price, it will be mainly on special occasions or if other places are closed. - It was quite warm and loud inside. Probably due to the kitchen and how popular it is. There were plenty of seats available but we also came at a non-peak hour. We ended up sitting outside to avoid this though.

There is delicious food, lots of food to choose from, and excellent service. I recommend the Huevos Rancheros. They are mild for those concerned about spice.

Firstly I want to start off by saying the staff were all lovely. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and helpful from ordering to the bussing of the table, etc. Secondly, I have to say that I used to come here often for breakfast/lunch and always really enjoyed the food. It's been quite a while since I've eaten here but I stopped by today for lunch and a treat. I ordered the chopped salad and unfortunately it was super soaked in dressing to the point where the was a pool of orange tinged liquid at the bottom of the bowl. Not sure what happened here but it almost seemed like the bottle of peppers was just haphazardly poured into the salad with its liquid. Strange stuff and I was starving so I ate the top portion and wasn't in the mood to have an honest convo with the staff about it, so that's on me. I could live with that without complaining, but we also ordered pumpkin pie bc 'tis the season, and the pie was way off, as if whoever made the filling read the recipe incorrectly and added way too much of a spice I can't even identify. 3 hours later and I still have the lingering taste of the rancid spice. My dining partner and I both agreed the flavor was legit sickening. Anyhow, I don't complain about food often but it was such a bummer to come back to a beloved place only to have everything other than the service fall way below expectations. Disappointingly, I don't see myself returning.

Anytime I’m in Santa Monica I make a point to stop here. The food is CONSISTENTLY SO good and amazing quality. Some places are really good every now and then but this place is really so reliable —you’ll know what you get every single time. The staff is wonderful and I love the all day breakfast. What a gem. I hope it never changes.

Tuesday morning here, very chill/lowkey. We stopped by and had coffee, had to try the churro pastry as well. For food, we tried the açaí bowl, an omelet sandwich and waffles. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. It’s been a while since we’ve been to Urth, definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area.

My girls said it’s “MUST-GO” place in La. We ended up going there two consecutive days! So many menu options and great food. We loved pizza, matcha latte, green smoothie, cheese danish and croissant donut. We came back with my friends and had a wonderful time here. Line is long but they move fast and the food runner will bring the food to your table. Very well run establishment with beautiful ambiance great food.

I popped in for a date & pb smoothie to go while charging my rental down the block. It was recommended by a local & I enjoyed. Neat spot, high ceilings tiled accents and florals inside give a bistro vibe which flows out to a patio. They service lots and what I saw looked tasty and fresh. I would visit again for a meal and a coffee.

Loved the coffee! Low-acid and hand-selected, so I grabbed a couple of pounds to go. The atmosphere feels authentic, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff is very welcoming. Also picked up a pecan pie and a pumpkin pie—both were delicious! I’m usually not a fan of pumpkin pie, but I really enjoyed this one.

Restaurant
Milo & Olive is a Cal-Italian restaurant known for its wood-fired pizza, small plates, and baked goods. The restaurant's wood-fired pies are a standout feature, made with a mix of organic and whole wheat flours and undergoing a two-day fermentation process to create a thick, chewy crust. They also offer gluten-free options. The breakfast pizza during brunch features pork belly sausage, eggs, roasted potatoes, and fontina cream.
We tried a few dishes, the squash pizza, one of the salads, and the garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The squash pizza had a great balance of textures and a nice depth of flavour. The salad was crisp and well-dressed, a perfect complement to the heavier dishes. The garlic bread, while delicious and incredibly fragrant, was very rich — practically swimming in olive oil and garlic. It was fresh and satisfying, but definitely on the heavier side. We also had a few cocktails, which were thoughtfully crafted and very tasty. Prices were on the higher end, but the quality of the food and drinks mostly justified it. The restaurant is relatively small with limited seating, and we didn’t notice any outdoor dining area. Parking is street-only and can vary depending on the time of day, so be prepared for metered spots or a bit of a walk.

Wow! Excellent service, and the food was terrific. The bread and pasta tasted amazing; you can tell they are made fresh. I have to stop again to try the pizza, which looked amazing as well.

You can check the potis as well, dish looks very good and taste excelent!

While walking around Santa Monica, I came across a charming little restaurant and decided to stop in for lunch. The atmosphere was casual yet inviting, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Since there were just two of us, we chose seats at the counter, where we could watch the chefs preparing the dishes right in front of us. It was enjoyable to see everything made fresh, from the dough being stretched to the toppings being carefully placed and the pizzas going straight into the oven. There were also plenty of table seats available, and the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded, so it felt relaxed and comfortable. I would describe it as the kind of place you can easily drop by without feeling too formal. The menu had more variety than I expected, with a nice selection of wines to pair with pizza, along with coffee, tea, juices, and even mocktails, which made it stand out compared to many casual restaurants. One of my favorites was the prosciutto and melon plate the balance of sweetness and saltiness was excellent and left a lasting impression. For the main dish, we ordered a pizza topped with tomato, burrata, prosciutto, and arugula. The crust was freshly baked, the flavors were well-balanced, and the portion was generous. Although we went for lunch, I would love to return for dinner to try more of their dishes. The staff gave us thoughtful recommendations and made the experience even more pleasant. While there wasn’t an outdoor terrace, the space still felt welcoming for both adults and families. Overall, I truly enjoyed both the food and drinks, and I would happily visit again in the future.

Came here since this restaurant still had a reservation available on Saturday night on relatively short notice. Food is completely fine. Not bad, not great. For my taste the pizza, which had a great dough, had way too much tomato sauce. The garlic knot was very hard and had full cloves of garlic inside, which looks nice on instagram but doesn’t necessarily contribute positively to the taste. The Tagliatelle Bolognese was completely fine (typical American Italian interpretation), the chicken parm was also ok. Tiramisu and cocktails were probably the best items on the menu.
Daniel — Google review
For someone with a light taste in food, the pizza and garlic knot were still pretty bland. Great service & atmosphere though.
Olina — Google review
Milo & Olive has become one of our favorite go-to spots in Santa Monica for simple, delicious Italian food. The menu is straightforward but consistently tasty, and the quality keeps us coming back. Our must-haves every single visit are the chopped salad and the baked garlic knot—both are absolute standouts and set the tone for the meal. The mushroom pizza is hands-down our favorite and usually our order, but on our most recent trip we decided to branch out and try the vegetable pizza. It was still good, though we felt it could have used just a touch more flavor compared to the mushroom. The pastas are always solid as well—fresh, comforting, and flavorful. The service here is consistently good, and the staff make the experience feel easy and welcoming. The space itself has a nice, relaxed vibe, perfect for casual dinners with friends or family. You can’t go wrong coming here any day of the week. Prices are on the higher side, but not crazy. Overall, Milo & Olive never disappoints. Even with a few minor preferences, it’s a place we’ll keep coming back to time and again. Highly recommend!
Eric T — Google review
The food was OUTSTANDING- but that’s not even the best thing about this place. My husband and I sat at the counter and got to watch the chefs make their dishes. It felt like being inside of a beehive- everyone worked so diligently and as a team. The head chef (I think 🤔- never worked in the food industry so I’m making an assumption) made sure things were getting done and I just kept hearing “thank you chef” every time an order came up. It was an INCREDIBLE experience and I could have watched it all night. Super impressive! Hats off to the entire staff there! I’ll be sure to come back next time I’m in town. Also, The added 4% to the bill for the health insurance for the employees…. I was more than happy to pay that. Hard-working people deserve insurance and I would never have a problem making sure that your people are taken care of.

Little Dom's is a cozy and trendy Italian restaurant that offers fixed-price Monday suppers and bustling brunches. Located on the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard and Hillhurst Avenue, this neighborhood gem exudes a laid-back vibe with excellent coffee and a menu featuring perfectly executed brunch classics like polenta and eggs, steak and eggs, house-made grilled Italian sausage, as well as ricotta cheese & fresh blueberry pancakes.
Had an amazing breakfast at Little Dom’s! The dishes had a delightful Italian flare, and every bite was a burst of deliciousness. The ambiance took me back to classic old-school Italian charm, and the service was excellent, attentive, and friendly. Can’t wait to return for another fantastic meal!

What a charming gem of a restaurant! This place has been on our list to check out for a while, and I finally had the chance to visit, and it did not disappoint. Well decided to sit at the bar due to the wait time, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Our bartender, Laura, was fantastic! She provided us with great food recommendations and made some delicious drinks. Time: noon/brunch Ordered: - rice balls -sausage/pepperoni pizza -fried potatoes

If you find yourself in Los Angeles, and especially near the Griffith Park area then search out Little Dom's. The menu has something for everyone's tastes, yet simple and not packed with menu item after menu item. What they do, they do RIGHT!. The oyster po-boy was well seasoned with meaty pacific coast oysters and the pickled green tomatoes on it were a game changer. The spaghetti and meatballs did not disappoint, and combined with an arugula salad were a true delight. If your there at dinner time you might want to try the buffalo mozzarella and market tomatoes - It was refreshing and just the right amount of seasoning to highlight the dish. The Chef de Cuisine Luke O'Grady and the Little Dom's team didn't disappoint in service and the establishment has a warm feeling and a sense of community.

Awful food with extremely rude attitude. Salty potatoes like poison. Pappardelle is greasy and spaghetti stinks. The lady check us out is providing such attitude for no reason, we literary just ask to apple pay and that's it. Also, we didn't get fork and napkin at first not even after our food is served, we have to ask for it.

Olive & Thyme is a charming family-owned market and cafe located in Toluca Lake. It was among the pioneers of gourmet cafe/marketplace counter service, emphasizing the use of local, organic, and sustainable ingredients. The menu offers a wide range of options from breakfast to dinner, including favorites like the breakfast burrito, brioche sandwich with avocado, Nutella pancakes, and Forager Panini.
We recently hosted an event at Olive & Thyme in Burbank for incoming American University freshmen, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, Matthew and his team were absolutely first class. The venue itself is warm, stylish, and welcoming — the perfect backdrop for such a special gathering. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented, and guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed it. Most importantly, the service was flawless: attentive, friendly, and all smiles, which set the tone for a truly memorable afternoon. For the incoming students and their families, it was a meaningful way to mark the beginning of their AU journey, and for us as hosts (and proud AU parents), it was a moment we’ll never forget. Thank you to Matthew and the entire Olive & Thyme team for helping make this event such a success — you exceeded every expectation!

Based off my first experience here… 5 ⭐️ and I’d come back for sure. Not only that, if I ever wanted to open a breakfast/ lunch spot I’d pay to consult ownership to recreate this in Seattle. The food… standard breakfast burrito: I’m used to these things being as big as your head and messy yet delicious. This one was of modest size and put together flawlessly. Egg and cheese wrapped around tater tot like potatoes, bacon and avocado. My only criticism is that the tortilla used didn’t get heated up on the skillet completely (to soften) or it’s just a stiffer flour tortilla than I prefer. That said, I’d order another one tomorrow. And the green salsa it come with is 🔥 4.5/5 ⭐️ The bacon, spinach quiche: fluffy, seasoned perfectly, dough was heavenly for real, and the sausage used was unexpected and I’m thankful. I’d eat this daily. For dinner too. 5.2/5 ⭐️ 😜 Vibe: this place felt like an indoor farmers market mixed with a high end boutique. I spent 88 before tip for burrito, quiche, avocado toast with poached egg and three juices. Ask: Can we add another type of pancake or waffle? There’s only one option today… maybe it rotates?

Beautiful restaurant, the atmosphere is light and energetic. The food is good but can't say what I got was great. That's on me because I know the menu has a wide variety of options. It was hot the day I went and I wanted something light. I got the tuna salad which was good and the lemon potato salad which was not. I wanted to love it because I love lemon but it gave me lemon pie with potato chunks and my mind couldn't process. The pumpkin cookie was good and the chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING. The service was lacking.... the girl that took our order was a doll. Super helpful, friendly and kind. However, it took over thirty minutes for me to receive the tuna and potato salad. The server kept staring while my friend had received her food long before I did. We had to go request my food. The server was rude about it, as if we were the ones in the wrong. This really made me want to give the restaurant a much lower rating but I don't feel that's fair because over all it was a nice experience and I will probably return at least one more time to see if it was just a bad day for service.
Jennifer H — Google review
Olive and Thyme is what I would call a very happy, well-lit little almost French style cafe that also serves some light sandwiches, pastas, salads and other options. The large windows let the natural light which is great because it's located on a corner lot. There's a high-top bar-style seating area and also very large communal-style natural wood tables that really give the place a warm feel. As mentioned before, it's just a nice place to grab a bite, hang out, and I would also say have one of the best black iced teas I've ever had in my life. 😄

Artelice Pâtisserie in Los Angeles offers stunning and delectable desserts, crafted by renowned pastry chef Farid Azarang, who has even created treats for The Grammys. Their creations make excellent gifts or indulgences for oneself. One standout option is the Sophia, an exquisite dark chocolate cube filled with layers of chocolate mousse, vanilla creme brulee, crunchy hazelnut, and cherries soaked in liqueur.
These pastries are BEAUTIFUL 😻 I brought a dozen to a family gathering and everyone LOVED it! They are definitely eye candy. I actually feel bad eating it. They look so delicate and shinnny. Like I just wonna display it like art. Conclusion…. YOU MUST TRY IT!!

This was probably my forth or fifth already in Artelice, so you could tell it's pretty good sign that I kept coming back. It's great to know they now had more stocks as well until quite late afternoon since before, coming late only ended up having you staring at empty pastry cases. For this quick pastry run, we had their Ham and cheese croissant as well as almond one, both of which were scrumptious in their own ways. The first savory one was flavorful with strong cheese taste, while the later had royal almond paste filling and the crunch on top was such treat (as always)! It's always been nice that they still kept giving complimentary 2 macarons of your choice with any purchase. So far I had tried Pistachio, Earl Grey, Matcha, Cookies and Cream; and the first two were my top list to enjoy while chilling in the gorgeous comfy venue. If you're in the boat of savory croissants, Artelice was doubtlessly worth trying as they served handful choices of awesome ones!

Beautiful art work but fell flat on the taste for me. I didn’t stop by, but my daughter asked if I wanted to try them. And of course it’s something sweet, so most definitely. I was disappointed with the peach belle $12, it was missing the peach flavor. I was not sure what flavor it was to tell you the truth. The 100% chocolate cake $9 was delicious 😋. But I love chocolate. Now try the 100% chocolate with the middle nugget in the peach belle and wow! The taste of the peach is there. But as always you have to try it for yourself. We all have different likes and dislikes.

Bright patisserie with a variety of croissants and creative pastries. Came here for a sweet treat with my boyfriend on a Saturday morning and there was a mid-sized line that moved fairly quickly. There is parking on-site as well as metered street parking in the front. You order and pay at the counter while they pack your order. We tried a couple of their tarts and they gave us a complimentary macaron (I tried the chocolate). There’s some seating both indoors and outdoors. The pastries were high quality and delicious.

Loupiotte Kitchen is a charming French cafe located in Los Feliz, offering classic dishes such as quiches, salads, and pastries. The menu is printed on French comic strips and features a wide selection of French wines. While the cafe serves delightful dinner options like seasonal risotto and fregola sarda with vegetables, it's particularly popular for its morning offerings.
This was by far the BEST brunch I’ve ever had in LA. This cute little French diner had the most perfect cozy ambiance, it’s like you take a step out of the city and into family owned establishment in France. The service was amazing, our food came out swiftly. Everything tasted fresh and made with love. I got the soft scrambled eggs and half French toast, my husband got the American in Paris breakfast meal, our total came up to $70 which is probably the cheapest meal we had during our visit. I expected to pay way more because the food quality was top tier! If you’re looking for a touch of France please come to Loupiotte! I can assure you will not regret it! It’s in a quiet area of Los Feliz. It’s quite accessible and there is parking nearby. We went on a Friday morning and it was not busy at all! I’m not sure if it’s the same on the weekends, but if it’s packed I can surely understand why!

Luckily there was a local next to us who recommended the red or blue velvet macaroon (and yes I said blue) and the bars. Boy did he not disappoint. Feeling adventurous my family tried the red velvet macaroon, coffee toffee ice cream, strawberry shortcake milkshake and the milkway malt. Needless to say they were as appetizing as they sound!! Our only complaint was that we were too full from dinner to finish. Hope you enjoy!

Milk is pretty good.Nice place for deserts.Must have a sweet tooth to come here or some might not like. Definetly worth the try if you have the day off for a night out.I ordered the gingerbread cookie cupcake.Texture of the cake was very good not too moist or too dry and the frosting was delightful because it wasn't too overwhelming.I also ordered the macaroon cookies and cream desert and the ice cream was great!Very nice creamy texture, with nice even compliments of oreo cookie throughout. As for the macaroon it was VERY SWEET and some of it was too much for me honestly some of it's hardened, crumbly texture did not compliment the ice cream very well so i must admit i discarded some of it during the process of my enjoyment. Reasonable when it came to pricing because of the all natural quality!

I've driven past this place a million times and finally decided to give it a try. We had a sundae and coffee toffee shake. Both were pretty good. They don't have a large variety of ice cream flavors but what they do have is pretty good. If you're in the area and looking for ice cream or a shake it's worth a try. Four stars because no butter pecan :(

Separate from the Milk Bar and Momofuku umbrella. Loved the ice cream sandwiches and shakes here. Cool thing is you get to customize and make your own sandwiches as well. I decided to make a vanilla with fruit pebble concoction. They have house made ice cream, speciality sodas, and sorbets as well. If your in the mood for some sweets this is the spot!

Came here one Thursday afternoon with my boyfriend. Wasn’t busy at all, the staff was very helpful. I ordered the create your own sandwich with white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and the center was red velvet ice cream. My boyfriend ordered the strawberry short cake milkshake. My ice sandwich was delicious. The cookie was so soft and the cookie was a beautiful golden color. The red velvet ice cream was very rich and the texture looked like it had actual cake pieces in the ice cream The shake was also magnificent. The shake options are very different than other places. The shake was very thick and tasty. The top had cake crumbs sprinkled along with real strawberries and whipped cream. Overall a fantastic choice

Cheap? No. Worth it? Yes. I was not impressed with their prices, but I was with their quality and service. The cashier was polite, and had a dork like personality. I had two scoops of their chocolate ice cream. Unfortunately I was not really in the mood for any baked goods so I cannot vouch for those. But the ice cream was extremely thick and rich, and as odd as it is, filling. Their tables and floors were clean along with the rest of the store. I will likely be returning to Milk to try some other products in the not so distant future. For those of you interested in getting scoops of ice cream I highly recommend only getting one, two if you're brave, and three if you plan on going home and taking a really long nap afterwards.

Delicious ice cream, kind employees, fast service, but I had to knock off a star because the prices were too high for me. Tasted good though.

Ice cream shop
Dessert shop
The Coolhaus Shop, located in Culver City, is a dessert brand that specializes in ice cream sandwiches and pints. Their flavors are unique and some are even dairy-free which makes them a great choice for anyone with dietary restrictions. The shop offers options for everyone from small scoops to towering sandwiches. Prices start at $3 for one scoop and go up to $20 for a towering sandwich.
Double chocolate chip cookie w/ coffee oreo ice cream sandwich / 5 🌟 Coolhaus was one of the first gourmet style food trucks to hit the scene after Kogi got the ball rolling. The owners transformed from a tiny truck serving delicious cookies with unique and decadent ice cream flavors into a national brand. They have kept the trucks and have a nice shop in Culver City which is where I went today. The cookies were very fresh, very chocolatey and very tasty. The coffee oreo ice cream was a perfect match. I could eat these every day so I guess I am lucky their only shop is far away. I think they like the path they took which wasn't to have a lot of cafes or scoop shops. I'm sure if they decide to go that direction they'd find a lot of success.

So, I ended up getting the Party time cookie, with Campfire S'mores ice cream, and my husband got the Snickerdoodle cookie with Black Sesame ice cream 🍦💖🍨 Izzy was excellent, and offered us to try any flavors. She gave us a great first experience, I'd love for us to be regulars. It's not an expensive place either. We loved it, thanks guys! 👏✨

Amazing ice cream thank you! Came back 11/18 and John helped me out! Was looking for a vegan/ Gluten free option and I’m glad I chose the Tahitian Vanilla (vegan) ice cream! So good and Creamy! I was able to try other flavors as well which was cool. Thanks again John for your help!
Carlos V — Google review
Our favorite flavors are: Salted Caramel, Churros, Chocolate Molten Cake, and Banana Foster! We first tried CoolHaus ice-cream sandwiches in an event we attended. They had their truck, and I was very excited to learn they had gluten free options! From that day on, this became one of our favorite places to get ice-cream sandwiches. They have a cute store in Culver City, painted in bright colors (great photo op, very instagrammable) where you can get cones too. Parking was easy on a Sunday, we found a spot right upfront. @RoundTripWeekend

It was my first time trying Coolhaus and my first introduction to ice cream sandwich place was a place called Cream. I found the prices on the higher end (6 bucks for a sandwich) compared to other places. I did enjoy the unique flavors like Vietnamese coffee and ube and they had a good cookie selection. There wasn’t a option to try more than 2 flavors. I wish the prices were a bit more affordable. There isn’t much seating in the place and it’s street parking. Overall, it’s a more expensive place to have an ice cream treat.
Maria L — Google review
Probably my favorite brand of ice cream sandwiches, but I've never been to the actually shop. Went for the first time and got a sammie with milk 'n cookies ice cream and the chocolate chip and party time cookies. Six bucks for a pretty hefty ice cream sandwich doesnt seem to bad, especially considering a coffee can easily run $8+ in LA.
Glarence Z — Google review
Had an ice cream craving while driving by so decided to check it out. I got the fruity pebbles rice krispy with Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream. They had many other unique cookie flavors accompanied with unique ice cream flavors. I was thoroughly satisfied with the product. The “cookie” for my ice cream sandwich was delicious as expected when eating a fruity pebbles rice krispy and the ice cream was good. It was not the creamiest ice cream I have had and the vanilla flavor was not as strong as I would have liked. For comparison my 5 star is Jenis Splendid Ice Cream for flavor and texture of a traditional ice cream, just so you know where I come from. I like the flavors of ice cream and cookie innovations that they are developing and they are definitely worth a try for that reason alone!

Great Local Ice Cream Shop Popped in for dessert after dinner in the area and was treated to some delicious and unique homemade ice creams. I had a fantastic chocolate fudge with another scoop of Black Sesame, a peanut butter that looked like concrete but tasted great. Everyone in my group treated themselves to a distinct flavor treat and none were disappointed. If you are ever in Culver City I recommend stopping by.

Valerie Echo Park is a charming bakery and cafe established in 2004 by Valerie Gordon and Stan Weightman Jr. Despite its secluded feel, it's conveniently located near the main strip in Echo Park. The menu features an array of fine teas, delectable pastries, and light lunch options. Visitors can savor dishes like the kale salad with black sesame and pickled daikon or indulge in the soft scramble paired with an impressive selection of teas.
Cute little spot! The coffee, pastries and food are all top notch. I was especially impressed by the customer service when my food ticket got mixed up and one of the servers brought me a free pastry to compensate for the mix up. I really appreciated it and that kind of customer service deserves 5 stars! My only feedback is to consider umbrellas for the curbside tables. That sun is no joke. Photo is of the bagel w tomatoes, cream cheese and capers. The berry pie and coffee cake (not pictured) were also good.
Savanna M — Google review
Awesome spot in a very nice and chill neighbourhood in Echo Park. The coffee absolutely slaps and the food is delicious. I went for the shiitake mushroom eggs which was amazing, and their basque cheesecake which is a must. Highly recommend!
Dimitri M — Google review
Their pastries are amazing. I killed their strawberry galette and then went back in to get more slices of the passion fruit pie. So delicious. The sandwich was good but it was a super hot day and it’s hard to get shade especially cause it’s so popping. So we just quickly ate and left.
Tina C — Google review
Atmosphere is 4 only because they have limited seating, but I've never not been able to find a spot pretty quickly. Very very good food, kind of pricey, but worth the occasional splurge. Their turkey sandwich is incredible. I think they changed the mustard semi recently though because it is a lot more spicy/strong and takes over the entire sandwich - so I now ask for without mustard. I've also hand the breakfast hand pie - they used to use dark chicken and it was SO tasty, I think they switch it out every once in a while. Vanilla latte with oat milk is my go to and very good, but it's better when they're less busy as when they rush it can be watery. Their matcha is ok. It's a matcha, but it isn't the best matcha I've ever had. Highly recommend this place!
Heidi H — Google review
Valerie is a cute, dog-friendly place with some really delicious sweet treats and other condiments and treats. The pumpkin petit four was incredible, and I want it again! I believe it is seasonal, but I highly recommend. I am only docking the food rating because they ran out of baguettes and bagels, so I could only get a sandwich with sourdough. It is a good thing I love sourdough! They also ran out of matcha, so you can tell this place is very popular.
Lily C — Google review
Enjoyed my lunch at Valerie’s! Petitfours are incredible! Turkey sandwich was great!
Katie O — Google review
As a non coffee drinker it’s pretty hard to find places that have delectable alternatives. I enjoy a good matcha or chai latte and i really really wanted to find a drink here that i liked, but unfortunately the chai latte is watered down (tasted like tap water with a cinnamon stick or something) and the matcha was not horrible, but i wouldn’t call it yummy and its not something i would get again. I really really love the location, ambiance and the blonde girl is really, really kind. I’m going to keep trying because I really want to like this place. I would just love if they would take the chai or the matcha seriously. even adding a lavender syrup or ube as a flavor option for the matcha would be amazing! or making the chai mix stronger. Side note, i tried the mushroom hand pie years ago and it’s soo good. The other food also looks really good. I can see why so many people love this place.
Jessica M — Google review
I went here with my partner to get some breakfast hand pies (delicious). I love their hand pies so much. We were so hungry so we decided to get two hand pies each. When the runner brought out the food for us they said in a strange tone, “did you guys order the two hand pies each?”. To which we said “yes, thanks so much!”. And to which they responded, raising their eyebrows, “Very healthy of you.” and — “If you need boxes for your leftovers, we have some inside.” I was in shock by the insanely unnecessary judgement coming from them that I froze and could not really even respond. I used to go here quite a bit. The food is great, drinks are great,… it’s real cute and everything. Just wanted to pop in here months later to say— that was truly not cool and made me and my partner feel really shitty. Bullying is not it, even if you’re having a bad day or don’t like your job. Thanks 🙏

French restaurant
Bakery
Bar
Bouchon is a charming French bakery and bistro located in Beverly Hills, offering high-end sandwiches, delectable French desserts, and an impressive wine selection. The bakery is nestled in a pretty atrium with a parkside patio where guests can enjoy their pastries and espresso amidst the beautiful Beverly Canon Gardens. Meanwhile, Bar Bouchon provides an elegant Parisian ambiance with its brasserie-style decor and outdoor seating overlooking the picturesque garden.
Great ingredients and execution for food that is delicious without being overcomplicated. We had a lovely lunch on the ground floor terrace overlooking a small but pleasant lawn. Service was friendly. Very nice experience.

Go upstairs for the restaurant patio seating during Thursday happy hour menu till 7pm. Live band outside playing and the food is delicious. Came to celebrate with a friend his new job promotion and ordered plenty of drinks. Old fashion and house red were good to get buzzed, we ordered two each. Hot dog on pretzel was delicious and juicy. And ordered a hunch of sides as finger food as we talked like fries, salmon tartare, and charcuterie. Nice atmosphere and service was attentive kept filling up our water glass and asking if we needed anything else. Recommend as a great lounge spot at the end of the day with buddies. Parking was underground.
Alek T — Google review
I’ve been here numerous times for lunch. AMBIANCE of the 2nd floor of Bouchon is more akin to a French style brasserie - dark wood panels, tiled floors, brass fixtures, high ceilings and an eye-catching seafood bar.  Very energetic and can get quite loud unless you're seated in the private dining area overlooking the street.  I think there were smaller tables on the street balconies, but since it was raining that day, everyone opted for the Main Dining Room.

Most of the lunch patrons appeared to be a mix between Beverly Hills and LA locals on a shopping break, Montage hotel guests, and business people. Dressy casual ranging from t-shirts and jeans, to shirts and slacks.  It's BH, but no need to dress to the nines here. SERVICE was nearly perfect from the greeters and waiter except the busboys made us feel slightly rushed when they took the last nub of Epi baguette without asking and almost walked off with my fries until my friend quickly intervened.  Water glasses were always being replenished without asking. To be fair, it took the 2 of us to finish our 3-course lunch in an hour and a half - I noticed most lunch patrons were in and out in about an hour or so. My 2nd visit was just fine service wise.

FOOD at Bouchon is the antithesis of what French Laundry offers - none of the wit, playing with the senses and derring-do execution displayed at the Yountville flagship that I experienced in the mid-90s.  Rather, Bouchon offers Thomas Keller's Californized renditions of French homestyle bistro classics. It's not supposed to wow your senses.  The end goal is to provide a lighter stick-to-your-ribs meal in upscale settings. Description of some of the items I’ve had during my visits:

Salmon Tartar - Scottish salmon with a dollop of crème fraiche, chopped hard-boiled egg, capers, and red onions.  The toasted crouton slices were the perfect vehicle to smear the tartar mix.

Moules Frites - was skeptical after reading the description of Maine mussels cooked in cider, tarragon, mustard, shallots and bacon, but this was so surprisingly delicious, I ate every morsel and sopped the last bit of broth with Bouchon's in-house baked Epi baguette. In the generous serving of steamed mussels, there was only one with a tiny bit of grit.  Absolutely no sand in the broth. Fries were thin and crisp.

Profiteroles - ended lunch with the cream puffs filled with French Vanilla ice cream.  Profiteroles came plain and then the server offered to pour the warm chocolate sauce over the puffs. Who's gonna refuse that?

For those concerned about prices, Bar Bouchon at street level offers many similar dishes at  1/2 the cost in more relaxed and quieter surroundings.

The complimentary bread and butter alone make this place worth it. The seasonal steak salad is delicious! Best BLT I’ve ever had! The espresso martini was delicious.

Overpriced french restaurant. Food is exquisite but you can get similar quality food without bleeding your wallet elsewhere.
Shannon L — Google review
The food was exquisite. It was exactly how the waiter described it so it really met our expectations. Service was excellent too! They gave us complimentary drinks cuz our food was late. So it was okay. It wasn't our first time, and we would definitely come back! Especially for their Fried Chicken Mondays! ❤
Toni S — Google review
I came for the opening party, so I can't say much about the entrees and menu. But the restaurant is enormous and the dining room seemed so far away from the entrance, down corridors and up flights of stairs. The inside bar is lovely and rustic, with a vintage French feel. Not to mention the hot bartenders...There is ample bar space and a nice deck, and beautiful views of the area and surrounding hotel. Wine, cheese, champagne, and appetizers were all wonderful. Mr. Keller showed off his amazing attention to detail. The breads were baked to perfection and the macaroons were lovely, as for the multitude of desserts. Recommend some bread, cheese, and whatever desserts you can get your hands on that day!

Amazing service, fantastic food, exceptional drinks. My company hosted our holiday luncheon here and had a great experience. Perfect room in the rear for a party of 20 or less, with attentive staff! I had the seared duck breast over potatoes and it was so mouth watering I wanted seconds! Great for any meal! Highly recommended!
