Nice outdoor seating and a wide selection of desserts. However, the service could be more welcoming, and while the cakes are visually appealing, they don’t quite deliver on taste. I also wasn't impressed with their best-seller Lingor d’Or. It's basically a marshmallow with fruits and whipped cream.

I was recommended this place from the classic open top car tour guide. It did not disappoint. Apparently this is the place that royalty eats at. The Paris Brest was simply delicious, and looked as good as it tasted. The raspberry tart equally as good. It was a treat to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful patisseries with a coffee.

My wife doesn’t like sweets. She doesn’t like chocolate also! But…….. She cannot resist the temptation and the beauty of the pastry here, and we know why the Belgian royal family loves the pastry here! We too s break here for our guided city tour and it was so good! The staffs were also amazing and friendly! I highly recommend

These guys supply pastries to the Royal so you know they are legit! You would be spoilt for sweet choices here. The pastries we had were all very good, and we definitely left with a bit of a sugar high. Loved that they did oat milk matcha lattes. You can’t go wrong with ordering any of the croissants/ pastries or the waffles.

We bought the Belgian chocolate to take back home as a souvenir and were not disappointed. The shop has plenty of chocolate to choose from 🍫 with various combinations of ingredients and flavors. Something sweet to remember after your visit to Brussels. Service was nice , I wish the young shop assistants were able to explain better the recipes of various chocolate combinations.

Very disappointing. The macaron tasted old and dry — I couldn’t even finish it after one bite. The dessert overall was not good either. The only positive points were the coffee and the friendly service. However, it was quite expensive for the quality. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back.

Beautiful looking sweets/pastries and kind staff that helps you. Subtle in flavour, it is a sense of luxury to eat. Unfortunately there is a small disconnect between the luxury of the goods and the style of the shop. The shop has almost a cafeteria feel, which is a shame.

Absolutely loved the Belgian waffles! They were perfectly crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served fresh and warm. The toppings were generous and delicious, making every bite a treat. The service was also friendly and quick, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re craving something sweet and satisfying!

This place is great! The waffles are crisp, light and delicious. The staff is friendly and quick. We really can’t recommend it highly enough. It is a small place but well laid out, so we had no problems finding seats inside both mornings we ate here. Likely the best waffle spot you will find.

when in brussels, i was dead set on trying two things: fries and waffles. it became an obsession. i couldn’t rest until both cravings were satisfied. this spot looked great and was nearby, so i gave it a shot. you can choose between the liège and the brussels waffle. the liège being smaller and sweeter, the brussels lighter and less sugary. naturally, i picked the liège with caramel sauce… which, in hindsight, was a bold (and slightly disastrous) move for someone who doesn’t love overly sweet things. i sat outside at one of their cute little tables facing the street, perfect for people-watching while waiting. soon, a kind waiter brought out my waffle: warm, glossy, and smelling like heaven. the first bite confirmed it: deliciously fresh, crunchy outside, soft inside… and way too sweet for me. but that’s on me, not the waffle. if i had gone for the brussels one and skipped the caramel, it probably would’ve been perfect. also, minor personal torture: wooden cutlery. i can’t stand the texture, but again, that’s a me problem. overall, the place is lovely and totally worth it. just learn from my mistakes and order wisely if you’re not big on sugar.

I was genuinely shocked by how bad the waffle was. The outside looked decent, but once you bite into it, it’s a total letdown. The inside was soggy, doughy, and strangely undercooked as if it hadn’t been baked properly. The texture was heavy and unappetizing, and the overall taste felt artificial. Overpriced not recommended.

Omg... PERFECTION!!! I finally tried the waffles here and let me just say - life-changing. Hands down the best thing I've eaten in Belgium so far!! Crispy on the outside, soft and warm inside, and every bite just melts in your mouth. It's sweet, buttery, and pure happiness. And can we talk about their service?? The staff were sooo kind and welcoming - like genuine smiles, quick service, and they actually make you feel at home

They offer two types of waffles (Brussels and Liège) and everything is freshly made. My waffle was served very hot, just cooked. You can choose any topping you like. I went for melted chocolate, and it was absolutely delicious. It was sweet but not too sugary, just perfectly balanced. There was a small line in the evening, so you might need to wait a few minutes, but it’s definitely worth it!

In Belgium on holiday via discussion we decided to go in. I have had many waffles in the last 6 weeks through Europe. This place is one that you need to walk past Waffle was not cooked properly. Icecream has thawed and been refrozen leaving the ice crystals through both flavours. Partner had Salted caramel with Banana. Mine was cupaccino. For what you are paying a better dish than this should have been presented

Fine artisan chocolates. The chocolate is beautiful to look at, come in a vast flavour selection, and melt very smoothly in your mouth. They are above average chocolates.

Was lucky enough to be invited to a tour of the factory 20 years ago. Fell in love with the Pierre Marcolini chocolates. On our recent tour to Belgium as a treat we purchased some PM chocolates to remind us how good they were. We were disappointed. The quality of the chocolate seems to have declined massively, maybe cost cutting? Would not recommend at all. Way too expensive for poor quality chocolate and poor taste.

I love Marcolini chocolates, they are my favourite , but I’m disappointed they sold me a box for the present with expiration date in one week :(

Nice place for waffles! -I came here on a brussels food and walking tour, the guide went in and got us waffles while we waited outside, but he said this was the store to come to for waffles. -I came back for a second time to try both kinds of waffles -The waffles are great, there is 2 kinds, the hand held original kind, which is amazing, or the square on a tray with different toppings kind, there is many different toppings to choose from. -I tried both kinds, and both were great, i do like the original alot, but the chocolate and strawberries were good too!

Famous Belgium waffle store. They have several branches and locations through out Brussels. This store have indoor and outdoor seating. I’m door area located on second floor. Taste good, I got the classic one which is good for both waffles and chocolate. Waffle are crispy and light. Credit card accepted. Enjoy !

A TOTAL TOURIST TRAP!! If you're just looking for a place to sit and have some overpriced beverages, this is the place for you!! 😚 Otherwise, honestly, the place is overhyped. The waffles were okay at best, but they cost 10€ for a basic waffle with just chocolate and ice cream. The worst part is the incompetent workers. There were four or five of them all chitchatting and doing nothing. Many tables were still available, but they made sure a line was created downstairs to create the illusion that it was full. I'm telling you, it WAS NOT. The servers didn't even bother to say hello or tell us which dish was which when serving us; they just plopped it down on the table, which we didn't appreciate. Bonus: For all the workers they have employed, the toilet is in an unbelievable state. I've included a picture here as proof, and I hope the person reading this is not eating their long-awaited, overpriced waffle right now. 😅 In conclusion - absolutely NOT WORTH it. Just take one to go if you absolutely have to, and eat outside.

Fast service. October had not much tourists. Queue was fast and random. Had the Brussels waffle with cooked strawberries and hazelnuts. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Light inside, crisp outside, chilled strawberries gave that sweet tartness to match the waffle’s sweetness. Very good coffee too! Liege waffle was ok, the cream was yummy. Lots of tables outside, and smokers beside the trash bins. Tables upstairs too, did not get to check this. Invader was here 👾

The best waffle I’ve ever had. They have good choices of waffles on their menu. I’ve tried the queens special which comes with cooked strawberry plus icecream and it was delicious. They were quite busy but it was work waiting in line for this great waffle.

Biggest tourist trap EVER!! DO NOT GO HERE!! Huge waiting line, huge prices(we paid about 11.5 euros per waffle), low quality chocolate!!! How can the chocolate be so bad??? It tastes like chocolate sauce from the supermarket. The whipped cream was tasteless and the cooked strawberries were so bland and somehow bitter?? The chocolate waffle was horrible but the speculoos one was pretty nice especially the icecream(that s why 2 stars). The seating area was ok but SOOOO COLD! Do they not have heating?? I didnt think i would ever get scammed but there s a time and place for everything :')

We typically avoid the famous tourist food spots but we decided to make an exception for Maison Dandoy. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. We ordered a waffle with cooked strawberries and ice cream. While it was presented nicely the waffle itself was nothing special and didn't live up to its reputation. The real disappointment, however, was the drinks. Both the cappuccino and the hot chocolate were horrible. They lacked the quality you would expect from a establishment of this calibre. This visit confirmed our usual instinct to steer clear of these heavily-trafficked locations.

Wonderful chocolate store with incredible staff. We got there 15min before closing and they already cleaned all their utensils but they still took our order and made us hot chocolate, which is incredible!

Stepping into Laurent Gerbaud in Brussels, I definitely had high hopes given the city's reputation for amazing chocolate. They've got a great selection of chocolate drinks, ice cream, and those little chocolate cubes. I tried a few of their chocolate cubes, and they were pretty decent. However, I have to say, it was tough to tell the different flavors apart – they all kind of blended together for me, which was a bit of a shame since I was expecting distinct tastes. I also went for the iced dark chocolate, and it was just okay. While the flavor was there, it felt a bit on the watery side, which made it feel less rich and decadent than I was hoping for, especially for a dark chocolate drink. It just didn't have that super thick, luxurious feel you often expect from a really good chocolate place. Overall, it was an interesting visit, but maybe not quite what I envisioned for a top-tier chocolate experience in Brussels. It's a nice spot, but I think there's room for improvement, especially with the texture of their drinks and the distinctiveness of their chocolate cube flavors.

What a fantastic variety of chocolates! It was so exciting to try unique flavors like black olive chocolate - surprisingly delicious! The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming! Definitely recommended.

We really enjoyed the chocolate workshop. The instructor was very knowledgeable and made the experience of chocolate tasting very fun and interesting. Also, the chocolate was exquisite!

I visited the shop hoping to enjoy a truly special hot chocolate, under the impression that it was a dedicated chocolaterie. Unfortunately, the drink turned out to be quite ordinary—just cocoa powder mixed with milk. Pleasant enough, but far from exceptional. It seems the establishment may be better known for its chocolates rather than its hot chocolate offerings. I had expected something richer, perhaps made with melted chocolate and varying cocoa percentages like 50% or 80%. That level of depth and indulgence was missing, and I left somewhat disappointed. It’s also worth noting that the shop operates on a semi self-service model: you place your order at the counter, and the staff bring it to your table. On the bright side, the team was friendly and helpful throughout the experience.

We came here to warm up on a coldish spring evening. My husband loved their hot chocolate so much, he ordered a second one. He was not as amazed with their pralines. I ordered Americano and it was pleasant - not overburned, aromatic. Beware their Irish Coffee - they use canned appriximation of whipped cream with it, which is a totally unhealthy product that nobody should consume.

So delicious!!! My first vegan brunch in Brussels and I can’t rave about it enough! I had the crispy burger and it was full of flavours and so filling! Such a cool find and it was busy so obviously popular!!! Really recommend Lucifer Lives and can’t wait to come back!

I went to Lucifer Lives today after searching high and low for a nice vegan place to have lunch. To start with the atmosphere is great, the cafe is nicely decorated and there's lots of seating options. When I arrived it was packed, I assume it was rush hour so I barely made it on time to grab the lunch however it was worth it in the end because this is the best lunch I've had during my stay in Belgium. It was extremely rich and tasty. I also had a homemade iced tea which was quite nice as well. The staff is friendly and they speak English which made my experience a lot better. I totally recommend this cafe whether it's for a simple coffee, brunch or to have some lunch.

One of my favorite vegan places since the day they opened their doors. Amazing coffees, very creative and tasty dishes and desserts. The most wonderful and kind owners in a setting where everyone feels welcome. Our visits to Brussels never go by without a visit to this place!

Cute, little, vegan café with clean toilets. We choosed the scandinavian brunch, a raw cookie dough bar and some drinks. The taste was really good. If the bagel would have been less cold and the cookie dough bar less sweet, I would give 5/5.

A great, fully vegan place in Brussels. Small food menu but food was pretty tasty. I went for the Curry Chicken Sandwich for €8.5. It was a big eat and decent for the price. My wife had the Flemish Beef stew for around $17 I think. Not to our flavour profile as it has a cinnamon/clove flavour which from as little as we know is authentic but we weren't expecting it. It was full of mushrooms which we're not fans of and it arrived luke warm (more on the cold side) which was a bit off putting. Came with chips and a nice dressed salad. Iced Americanos hit the spot on a really hot day.

Deco is fantastic !! Staff is really welcoming and the food magnifique !! Loved it ! I’d visit again when I come back to Brussels . If you’re vegan and looking for a delicious coffee and bread or a meal, this is the place . Also budget friendly and fresh, what else can I ask ? Truly grateful to have found this place.

You simply can't leave Belgium without indulging in their delightful waffles and exquisite chocolate! The experience is truly worth the wait in line. It's conveniently located, just a short stroll of less than five minutes from my hotel. I must say, the waffle topped with pistachio and chocolate was absolutely delicious! The service was quick, and the prices were quite reasonable too. Enjoy your visit!

The best waffles on the street - sweet, crispy, and delicious! My wife and I are visiting Brussels for the fourth time as tourists. We love Belgian waffles, but they’re not good everywhere. This time we were lucky - these waffles are perfect!

Not at all worth the wait or hype. We were thinking of eating a well balanced crispy waffle with some chocolate sweetness and sour tasting berries. What we got was a caramelized hard waffle, overly sweet chocolate sauce and sugar coated (again too sweet) hazelnut. The dark and white chocolate sauce both were too sweet and after eating the waffle we felt very nauseous and extremely full! Note: On owner's reply to my message above I'd like to add, I chose chocolate sauce but that does not mean it is supposed to have heaps of sugar, I expect the sweetness in normal amount. Also, the hygiene level and handling of fruits by the employees was very questionable (ps. Cutting fruits with the same hand and taking payments/touching screens). Ultimately, sweetness level and hardness of waffles is a subjective matter. For me it was very hard and chewy with too sweet chocolate sauce. Also dear Obe, the reviews are not for you to give a sassy reply to every person who has a bad feedback for you, it is just for the business to improve their model for future customers. Take it or leave it, not my loss.

Always a long que but it moves fast. Very good options for customizing waffles but I wish they had more options in a la carte options. Waffles were very good and freshly baked but I did not like the quality of chantilly cream. Chocolate sauce was good.

Really enjoyed Obe's frozen yogurt during our trip. We got the waffle and the yogurt on the first day, came back again for the yogurt the next day 😋 Everyone was friendly there. My parents and I, we had a great time

The waffle itself was okay, but the batter felt quite heavy and filling, not the light and crispy kind I was hoping for. What really surprised me, though, was the topping. According to the menu, my order was supposed to include two portions of strawberries. In reality, it was just a few tiny slices, probably three small strawberries in total. That left me wondering what a single portion looks like, because this definitely didn’t feel generous for the price. I also went for the “premium chocolate,” expecting something a bit more special, but it honestly tasted like ordinary melted milk chocolate (something you could easily get from a supermarket brand like Milka). It was good, but nowhere near the kind of rich, decadent flavor I imagined when I read “premium.” Overall, the waffle was tasty, but not extraordinary. For 8€, I expected something more impressive both in terms of portion size and quality. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it didn’t deliver that wow factor you’d expect at this price point.

Finally, I’m here in Brussels — the waffle capital! 🧇 Yes 👍 very good waffle, and they also have a great variety of other delicious desserts and sweets! 😋

Had a business dinner here and it was a great choice. The location on the Grand Place is amazing — beautiful views if you sit outside. The food was tasty and well presented, and the staff were friendly and professional. It was also great to enjoy the Ommegang 2025 show, a traditional historical pageant and festival celebrating Brussels’ rich heritage, while dining. Perfect spot for a memorable business meal in the heart of Brussels.

The mussels with garlic were absolutely delicious and highly recommended. I paired them with a glass of white wine, which was perfect. Sitting outside with a view of the Grand Palace made the experience even more special—especially at night when it’s beautifully lit. A highly recommended place!

We stopped in for a beer before heading back to the hotel. We didn’t expect much since this is in the heart of a tourist area. The beers were great but the employees were even better. We had a great conversation with Alexi the bartender and by the time that we were finished, we had already decided to return the next day for dinner. Dinner was good and the service excellent. The atmosphere is incredible, even on a crowed day. They had the fireplace going and the ambiance is that of an old cottage in the winter. Absolutely fantastic.

A beautiful rustic wood beamed interior on the ground floor, with a view out on the Grand Place. The food is pricey but you’re paying for the location. Had drinks and marveled over the age of the bar.

I was on a short, solo trip to Belgium, and I was staying in Brussels and exploring a different city each day. This day, I decided to check out the main plaza and try a new restaurant I was wanting to eat traditional flemmish food, and for whatever reason, this place seemed like a good bet. It was very crowded in the summer, so I had to choose based on what was available, no wait, and what "looked good". After an hour's walk, and checking countless menus, I ended up here, and with no regrets! I ate outside to enjoy the sunlight and upcoming sunset. I didn't feel odd to be alone, and I was not treated worse for being a solo traveler. I was given a nice corner table on the patio, an had a fantastic view of the square, and got to people watch my whole meal! The food was delicious, and it was not an overly large portion. It as enough to stuff me but let me walk comfortably back to my hotel! I got a Flemish chicken stew, in a white creamy sauce, and it was divine. I couldn't tell you what was in it- just meat, potatoes, and this amazing sauce. I ate everything! The price was reasonable, especially for a busy city center at the height of summer on a weekend. It was one of my favorite meals in this country- although, I have to admit, every meal was "my favorite". Since it is so centrally located, I had a very short walk to see some famous sculptures, murals, and just explore!

Best pastries ever, and bonus points that they were all vegan and affordable! We showed up an hour before closing and left with a strawberry pastry, merengue with chocolate and chantilly, creme brulee ball, and brownie. All of them were amazing! Despite a language barrier, the woman was so kind and helpful. She used Google translate to explain certain ingredients. We wish we came a bit earlier to see more of a selection, but regardless, we are so happy with what we got. We fully recommend this place!

Vegan bakery frequented by locals. Away from the centre but worth the trip! I was too late for the croissants, but tried a few of their cakes, they were so delicious. Out of the ones we tried, the mango and rhubarb ones were on a different level, amazing flavours.

I love this vegan bakery! I’ve been a few times and it is the best vegan pastries I’ve ever had ! The bread is also very tasty. The only downside is I live 40 minutes away in Laeken - I wish I could come more often!

Vegan or not, this was the single best pain au chocolat I‘ve ever had in my entire life. The staff is also very friendly. If you live in the centre, this is well worth the detour to Anderlecht - I highly recommend!

Ordered a vegan birthday cake here for my girlfriend last year. Despite the fact that I didn't speak French, they made it happen. The cake itself was delicious and with pistachio, just like I wished for. My girlfriend loved it.

The only negative thing I can say about this place is that is too far away. I tried the pain au chocolate and it was amazing. I’ll definitely come back.

We tried lots of truffles so far. And from what’s supposed to be a high quality product with the price of 100€ per kg we expected much more. The taste is weird, bad indeed Even though the little chocolates we were given to try at the store were good

The chocolate is very nice, a well known reputable brand. However their prices are quite high which makes it hard to justify the purchases. The reason I've given it 4/5 is how nice the staff were, very helpful and sweet. Once we made some purchases they gave us some freebies and extras which was nice.

I highly recommend this shop. Neuhaus invented the traditional praline and their products taste delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, too. I recommend the „Masterpieces“ - a package of 21 assorted pralines (250g, 25 Euro). The most traditional triangle ones are really marvellous.

Should replace the blonde hair girl with glasses working at 9:20pm on Monday 15 September 2025. Might get more sales as there was no interaction with us and 3 other separate customers that walked in. Pathetic customer service - acting as if she is busy. I think the store closes 9 not 11…… lost some sales for sure. She needs a Belgium waffle or some chocolates to cheer up!

A fantastic chocolate store with great service. We got a lots of explanation and a free tasting from a new chocolate recipe that they are working on so we were really happy. I highly recommend this place. 👌

bad service experience… there were customers asking for a box of chocolate around 500g and they didn’t even know what they wanted and were walking around the store asking about different chocolates and asking the attendant to pick this lasted about 15 minutes. After they finished packing one box, the customer asked for ANOTHER box of 500g. I understand it’s not fully the shop assistant’s fault for an unhinged customer. We had clearly already decided what we wanted as we were holding boxes, were at the checkout counter and spent some time talking about the chocolates we wanted to try. I feel like in situations like this they could have let us pay first or the second shopkeeper in the store could have assisted us, she was just moving things on the shelves acting busy. Ive been on the other side with a big order before and have been understanding when the shopkeeper asks if they can serve a customer first. Went across the road to Elisabeth instead. This was on the 6th of October.

Small shop, right next to Manneken Pis, a bit expensive, but the chocolate is nice. You can buy the chocolates individually, in pre-made boxes of assorted chocolates, or by creating a custom box, by picking the box size you want (different sizes, the biggest one having about 37 pieces, weighting 500g and costing 37€) and then selecting the desired chocolates). They also have macarons, in about 10-12 flavours, which you can also buy individually or in a box (smallest one has 6 pieces and costs 10€).

We got the brioches with raisins and the ones with chocolate. We bought the gift cake box, as well, with 6 mini meringues from different flavors. It is delicious. The cramique or brioches are light and fluffy with gorgeous Belgian chocolate chips. And the mini cakes are perfect. Not too sugary, not too much meringue and with the perfect amount of flavor. You have chocolate, lemon, praline and more to choose from. We bought the pastries and were so fragrant that, in our way back, the car smelled like a homemade bakery for more than two hours. The service was great. The people in the store could speak several languages. The parking is difficult, so I advise to park in a paid parking and walk to this shop. Price is fair for the quality of the products. It is always full of clients. They also have an open kitchen where you can see them preparing and baking the pastries. Very professionals and clean.

Both the chocolate brioche bun and vegetable sandwich were superb! The bread was perfectly sweet and completed the other components wonderfully. Even with a line it was super fast to order and the workers were very friendly.

I have no idea what these little cakes are called but they were little cakes from heaven. They were absolutely delicious and I just wish we had time to go back for more! Definitely worth trying if you're in Brussels and looking for a sweet treat.

I've been there many times because it's so inviting. You can't stop trying most of the delicious desserts. My favorite are the brioche. You can find them freshly made that are still warm. They're simple yet so delicious. The place is small and filled with that sweet smell that makes you crave something sweet. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it.

Popped into Aux Merveilleux de Fred in Brussels and oh my, what a treat! The merveilleux cakes are pure magic—tried the classic chocolate one and the speculoos with white chocolate, both so light and creamy with that perfect meringue crunch. The croissants were warm, buttery, and flaky perfection. The shop’s got this fancy vibe with a big chandelier and open baking area that’s fun to watch. Staff were super friendly, even with a queue (which moves fast!). Prices are reasonable. Grab a box to go or sit at their cute tables. 5 stars!

Honestly we just stumbled up on this place and seeing a lot of locals standing in line and it did not disappoint! Sooo yummy pastries we got the most popular one! 10/10

A long line but goes quickly, they are very efficient. Yummy pastry and coffee but I don’t know if it’s worth the line up necessarily? But I was satisfied with choice tostop and glad to have made time for this coffee and pastry.

The pastries were delicious, but it’s hard to sit and relax — the door keeps opening and it’s drafty, plus there’s very little space. They don’t put out new items on display, which seems to push customers to buy what’s already there. The coffee was excellent, but the place lacks atmosphere.

I was there around 13:00 hr rainy day, the 3 I tried was not exactly impressive. But they were good.

I wish I could eat here every day! The citron tart was absolutely incredible and the sandwiches were stunning.

We wanted to buy some chocolate to take home and we ended up having the best hot chocolate ever!! The icecream was really nice too (2 big scoops and chocolate inside the corn) and and with every order we were able to taste different chocolate eggs. The staff was friendly and told us about the company. Would definitely come again!

Great place to have a hot chocolate and watch some chocolates being made. This place is away from the tourist area which is great. We got in and ordered a classic hot chocolate. Thick and came with two little chocolates also. You can watch through the glass window the team making chocolates which is interesting. They have a wide selection of chocolates to choose from also.

Delicious gem with great hot chocolate and a friendly mood. It has a green outdoor seating as well and opens on Sunday! Loved it. We also tried the ice cream and the pistachio is a delight! Comes with melted chocolate inside the cone, ouf!

I have to say, these waffles are truly exceptional. I tried the raspberry waffle with whipped cream and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The whipped cream alone deserves a special mention, it instantly earned a spot in my personal top three, simply because it doesn’t taste like the typical store-bought kind. It has that fresh, homemade quality with a light, creamy texture that feels authentic rather than artificial. The waffle itself has a subtle, slightly tangy note from the raspberries, which balances beautifully with the sweetness and richness of the cream. This contrast makes every bite interesting, never overwhelming or too sugary. It feels carefully thought out: simple ingredients, but elevated through the way they’re combined. In general, I’d say these are some of the best waffles I’ve had in this city. On top of that, the prices are refreshingly fair, especially compared to some of the more “famous” places that charge much more for a far less memorable experience.

Look no further. After trying many waffles across the city, this is the one. The Liège waffle here is absolute perfection. It's dense and chewy with a rich, buttery flavour, but the magic is in the pearl sugar. It creates this incredible crispy, caramelized crust on the outside while some bits inside remain crunchy. Served warm, it's a truly unforgettable treat. Don't waste your time elsewhere!

This waffle store is amazing. Only available for take-out. You can see how they make the waffles through the glass wall. We got the vanilla, chocolate, and raspberries. The waffle is dense and chewy, offering a rich and buttery flavor. While it leans a bit too sweet for my taste, I truly think this is the top spot for waffles in Brussels.

Our first and only waffle in Brussels. We chose the one with chocolate chips and another classic waffle with added whipped cream. It was freshly heated with a nice texture. Perfect snack under the cold weather.

Belgian Waffle Galet was honestly a bit overrated. We tried the chocolate chip waffle, it was just average, and the cinnamon apple one was really not good. To make things worse, both waffles weren’t even hot when served, which made them less enjoyable. Overall, not worth the hype.

Good donuts but they could use a little more filling for the filled donuts. They were very fluffy and big, but the amount of filling just doesn’t add up. The New York Roll was probably the best thing I have had in ages. Thank you for that. Will definitely pay another visit in the future.

Stopped by on Monday near end of day and tried a few donuts: Apple, cookies and cream, and boston cream. They all looked and tasted good. I think they were closing in 30 minutes so I’m sure they would have tasted even better earlier in the day when they were fresher. I read somewhere to try the lavender and rice krispies, but they were out already so didn’t have many selections left. The girl working was also very nice and pleasant. Would liked to have tried more selections, but was short on time and just passing through.

Such a lovely little place! Very nice and calm sugary vibes. I bought a box of 9 donuts for €30 and I believe it's totally worth the money. Everybody who tasted them absolutely loved the donuts. There are also delicious vegan donuts. Very friendly employees as well. Certainly a place to return to time and time again!

I went there because I'm vegan and they have a great range of vegan donuts there. The service is quick and efficient, warm welcome. Donuts are absolutely divine. Very generous without being stuffy. Would definitely recommend!!

Cozy, though stuffy, little donut place in a nice area. Decent variety of big, home made donuts and seasonal special flavours. Prices are not cheap, but the donuts are quite big. Flavour wise they are fine, and the seasonal varieties are fun and worth checking out. The dough gets a little chewy very quickly, however, and the “normal flavours” (like white chocolate with sprinkles) are lacking anything special. These are by no means bad donuts, just don’t expect anything outstanding. Do try to see if the seasonal favourites tickle your fancy.

The reason of visiting here is to enjoy hand-made Donuts. Yes its artisanal Donuts. The variety and flavours they have are really unique in town. They are big in size and full of delicious stuff on it. Apart from Donuts they have Chai Latte and Golden Latte very specific and one must try it. Whenever you are in center its worth visiting this place to enjoy yummy Donuts.

The matcha was so well done. The aesthetic is fancy, and the R&B music added to the vibe. The donuts are creatively decorated and presented. I had a rose donut, which was glaze with dehydrated rose petals. It tasted wonderful. My friends hade their variety, including an Oreo one. All tasted great and we enjoyed our time there. May return soon.

Mind-boggling selection of baklava and various Mediterranean sweets with a variety of nuts, spices and flowers worked into them. Of course, with quantities like these, there is no way they can always be fresh, so, while beautiful and temptingly looking, some of them had been sitting there for a while and where therefore drier and harder than they would be if you were to catch a fresh batch of them. But great to draw inspiration from for a culinary visit of the Southern Mediterranean from to Turkey or Morocco.

Glad we found this place during our short stay in Brussels. They have a wide variety of pastries from different areas of the Mediterranean that had an amazing flavor and weren't too sweet. The staff and owners were super helpful and friendly, great experience!

Having to check out of our stay early, this was just about the only place open early enough for us to get breakfast. The food was really good and there was fresh squeezed orange juice on the spot. This was delicious. They were even able to accommodate us for what we were hungry for even though some of what we wanted was only available for lunch. The inside was very clean and it had a very peaceful atmosphere.

Just got round to posting this but I guess it is still valid. We were there around two months ago with a group of 3 others and while the place seemed nice I got sick a couple of hours after eating an early lunch (we all had a different breakfast but same lunch). Went to the doctor-food poisoning, Two others from the group who also had the beef pie experienced the same symptoms. Beware.

Amazing fresh food and drinks, full of flavor and reasonably priced (around 16 EUR). Not sure where the British twist comes into play...It's more is a neocantine than anything traditionally British...Maybe that's for the better ;-)

This was our first Belgian waffle experience. Stopped here quite late on a hot evening. Ordered different waffles for all fo us. I watched then making the waffle and it's not a typical batter but almost like a dough which I found quite interesting. The waffle itself was delicious, crispy on the outside and soft inside. It was also not too sweet. Prices are excellent as well. Ice cream are also really good.

Not recommended. She simply reheat the waffer tat is already done. Not crispy at all. Good thing it is less sweet compared to Liege waffles. Disappointed. This is my first review post in google. Actually almost all prepared in some other shops. Only see one van on the go tat do fresh ( maybe should find this in future )

The waffle was pretty okay. It was hard and not tasty. The shop itself is beautiful and serves a wide variety of flavours. The coffee was decent. I was let down as it was the first cafe that we went to in Belgium and had high expectations! Just a visit worth for the beautiful ambience!

The waffles were delicious, my girlfriend and I got three waffles, whip cream with banana, strawberry and Nutella and cinnamon waffle with whip cream and Carmel and an Ice Tea for a total of 26€. Definitely would recommend. Limited seating and small establishment.

The place a nice and quint. Good coffee and a plethora of gaufres to choose from. The staff may need to more attentive to the customers but overall great place for a quick coffee and gaufres.

They have waffle with plenty of topping choices. I went for the classic one, waffle with Belgian chocolate on top. It was freshly made and really nice. The place is a bit narrow and was packed with people, so dining in was a bit hard at the time. It was also a little hard to find, even with Google Maps, as it’s tucked down an alley I wasn’t familiar with.

I disagree with other reviewers who said their desserts were not too sweet. Except for the creme fraiche strawberry cake, the other cakes I tried are too sweet for me, especially those with mousse. Considering the high price tag, I don't think I will return

Great little place. A family business with interesting recipes. The chocolates and the filled croissants we tried are very good quality. The little cakes are next. But everything looks good.

If you love the idea of a Japanese bakery, then this place is certainly worth a visit. Be warned that most of their products are "Belgian", but the care and the expertise they put in their work is amazing. Each fruit of their cakes is carefully respecting the overall symmetry. Their colours are bright without being fake. Their flavours delicate and elegant. Don't be surprised if you will have to queue outside, with little signs of life in the rest of the neighborhood: the quality of the place is getting known (also, if it means something, among Japanese expats).

An exquisite experience, definitely unexpected. Was very tasty and full of flavour. The chocolate doughnut was filled with a mouse and chocolate base, the chocolate waffle was one of the nicest in Brussels, full of flavour and different textures to explore. The creamy balls had a surprise in them and were delicious and fresh.

I used to live next to this bakery and it’s so wonderful that I still come back most weekends just to try their pastries. Their New york rolls is my new favorite!

The chou pastries are excellent as usual, but the cheesecake one is disappointing with the pie base disproportionately thick. Carachoc tart is nice with the same creamy chocolate mousseline found in the chocolate eclair.

You have to go here! HAVE TO! MUST! This place is beautiful and delicious and just a must go. It’s worth walking over there just to glare at the exquisitely made chocolates. But have a pastry cause they are just insanely good. I had a pain out raisin and it was huge, delicious, buttery and crisp with tons of raisins. Even better my parter tried their chocolate, custard pain au chocolate thing and that was incredible. It was the crispest, butteriest and most delicious thing over ever out in my mouth. Ever! The staff where just lovely and helpful and there’s a little window where you can see the bakers hard at work. I call it where the magic happens. Must try!

Visited this place during New Year’s holiday 2022 in Brussel and instantly fell in love with Ginkgo! They offer a lot from pastries, cakes, pies until chocolates, and all are beautifully crafted! We ordered the eclair and paris brest. Both were super good especially the hazelnut filling with a perfect balance of all taste you need for a good cake :)

Wonderful organic gluten free bread and sweets. All organic and a lot of vegan options. The recipe for the breads are unique and all is organic home made ànd self grown. I really enjoyed the large portions, but be careful as it is easy to order too much ;-)

I have celiac, so it was great to find a proper safe place in that area of BXL. However, by the time I arrived they barely had items left (17:00), and I found no seating other than a separated high stool, as the place is very small and people don’t leave once they’re done eating… So I couldn’t enjoy a 100% comfortable experience. But the quality was quite alright!

I understand that it is a bit expensive, gluten free bread unfortunatly always is. What I disliked though was that there is just hummus, cherry tomatoes and arugula in their 'sandwich'. Making it very bland

Great place if you are gluten free! All of their focaccia also has no eggs! Their pastries are gf but not vegan. Everyone there was helpful and patient when we were asking questions regarding other allergens in their menu. I'm not allergic to any ingredients and I still enjoyed everything we ate and would come back!

Food is good, service is friendly, the downside for me was a plate on which food was served - old rusty with paint coming off (see photo) & toilet without towels or handdryer. So maybe I try it again, but only to take out.

I am not a vegan but sometimes I would like to have a light salad. Maha offers a good and light salad with fried falafels. The drinks they sell are quite interesting. The sauce of salad is sesame sauce and is also quite natural. The flavor is quite mild, neither too sweet nor too salty. I do enjoy a peaceful evening there. Btw, there is no air conditioning in the room so better avoid hot days to eat inside.

Kind staff and clean place. However, the falafel wrap was the most unimpressive wrap I had. The falafel was not fresh, reheated on a tray. Bland salad and sauce. Also 4.5€ for a 27cl beverage feels off. I wouldn't recommend the wrap based on my personal experience.

That's how the decline of a restaurant begins: you walk in and the place is empty, even though it's dinner time. Maybe here is one of the reasons: once I ordered my wrap and the staff, wearing gloves, start cleaning and picking things up off the floor, then stuffing and pressing towels into the bin with all their arm in it. I watch them go back to the kitchen and start preparing my wrap, with the same gloves on. I break the silence and ask them to change the gloves they just put in the bin. Disgusting. I can't understand how disconnected from their work they must be to provide such service and ask €9.50 for a tiny pita. I won't come back.

The food is undoubtedly excellent, good quality, fresh and hot. The place is nice, but there is a very strong smell of fried food because the kitchen is open. So the atmosphere is hot and unpleasant to eat in. By the end I was sick of the smell and couldn't finish my juice. Even so, I recommend the restaurant if you're vegan, as the options are delicious.

Easily one of the top places for a delicious veggie/vegan meal in Brussels at the moment. Their tahini and their falafels are excellent and worth trying something with these ingredients for a first order, and you'll sure to come back to try more! Their food travels very well, so delivery is a good option with Maha.

It used to be better. The baking is inconsistent see pic, pistachio almost raw, coffee one is slightly better but still underbaked. We have sent emails and tried to speak to the staff in the shop, Staff in the shop not trained to deal with our feedback. Never received a reply to our messages on social media nor via their online form.

It’s been long time since I posted about a food place, but I had to because these cinnamon rolls are heavenly. They were delicious!! We tried their lavender lime which was perfect not too strong lavender and good bit of lime, the Bischoff, the cookie dough, and the original. The dough was perfect texture and the variety of toppings are amazing. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their toppings! And the fact they are vegan is a major win! As a vegan I find it hard at times to find specific items usually good desserts. These cinnamon rolls are a 11/10 👌🏽🤤

Very nice place, though it’s a shame you can’t really sit down properly to enjoy your food. There are seats outside, but they aren’t what you’d expect from a local café, for example. Overall, the cinnamon rolls are very tasty— I do recommend heating them up in a microwave, though. Cinnamon rolls are typically tastier when warm. I tried the speculoos rolls multiple times and, albeit a bit expensive, they’re very high quality and vegan. A perfect treat.

great spot for anyone craving a proper cinnamon roll fix. The rolls are soft and fresh, especially the classic cinnamon, which has the perfect balance of sweetness and spice. The toppings and variations are fun without being overwhelming, and the portion sizes are generous.

Easily the MOST flavorful cinnamon roll I’ve had in Brussels. They handcraft each of their rolls delicately so much that the dough melts softly in your mouth. Highly recommend the caramel with pecan nuts roll. Still reeling from devouring it.

Decidedly French, but also with a sizable selection of Greek and Mediterranean delicacies, Nikolas Koulepis checks a lot of boxes and seems to do it all well thanks to the owner’s extensive training that began on the island of Rhodes. Now with two locations, Pastries comprising everything from Choux and Viennoiserie to shredded Phyllo an ambitious undertaking, staff proves pleasant when describing options in multiple languages while quality is evident in the first bite of layered lamination that shatters quietly. Offering scaled down Cakes and Entrements, the Saint Honore a work of art from Cream to crunchy Sugar, Kadayıf is boldly aromatic and soaking wet while the Bret gets a boost from an unannounced layer of Caramel and Praline that adds a whole extra layer of excellence.

I have yet to visit a Koulepis location. I did however have the pleasure of having my wedding cake made by this team. I am writing this review to tell you that koulepis managed to make 180 people turn to my now wife & I to ask who achieved this extraordinary feat of making an incredible Saint Honore for 180 people. Your successful wedding cake has been and continues to be a 1 of a couple success stories of our wedding. Thank you. See you soon.

I tasted their cakes selection during a brunch . They have also some easter chocolate shaped structures ideal for a gift for kids . The vanilla and chocolate cream eclair were delicious. The lemon meringue was equally good . The chestnut crumb i didnt tasted it but it looked good

Very good patisserie! We tried “ekmek kataifi”, “st honoré”, “bougatsa” and variety of cookies. The cookies were a wonderful way to pair with our coffee! The Rhodos version of bougatsa initially made me a little sceptical, but after tasting it, I was completely won over! Overall, a must try!

I’m disappointed with my order. I asked for a little sign on the cake — I can accept that it came on a separate plate, but the plate was very tiny and the writing was done so poorly. Honestly, I could have done it better myself and won’t be putting it on the cake. The cake itself also looks much less nice than on the website. I really hope that the taste is better than the presentation.

If you are looking for a delicious, Brussels locally owned shop that makes enticing treats this is the spot! If you’re coming into town to celebrate an event, message the shop ahead of time to see if you could enjoy one of these cakes while you are here! I’m so sad that we missed the opportunity, but we will definitely keep this in mind for next time! I wish we lived here so we could have a cake made for all special events! Everything was so beautifully crafted and the attention to detail is stunning! This place was recommended to us from someone in the states who has been before and they did not steer us wrong! We are only in Brussels for a few days, but glad we visited!!! We ate several of the cookies and marshmallows from Cokoa’s grab and go section but it was so good we made a second trip for more of the marshmallows!!! We had to get one in every flavor. I cannot recommend this place enough. There’s lots of cute things to do as well if you’re staying in Brussels central area and do make the easy metro journey to this bake shop. The owner was so sweet and she recommended a sprawling, gorgeous park nearby which I second if you have felt locked in the city buildings; as well as one of Brussels oldest cafés! We came prepared with cash because we read other great reviews that talked about needing to bring cash, but I was pleasantly surprised that they also had an app available if we needed to pay via our phones. I also wish it was one tray per person for medallions so I could try more writings - I was limited by the size of the tray and had to leave enough space for other people. There's also a shop. Booked the chocolate making class with friends while on vacation. Overall the experience wasn’t too bad, the truffles tasted amazing. It was a cute activity to add to the itinerary. However, I feel like the class size was just too large for the space that we occupied. Wish the class size was a bit smaller as a lot of people were in each others personal space so it got a bit hectic.

Several Comments: The staff were friendly but very direct. For People complaining about how rude the staff is; You should have been there on time. 1. We were told to arrive 20 min early. However, people were late so we start late. How is that fair to the people who come on time? If the Session is 11:00 it should start at 11:00 since we are following their strict rules. 2. Hygiene was not up to standard. NO masks, NO Apron (15euros), NO Gloves were provided (Even-though it should have been according to their guidelines). The chocolate/toppings used in the session are all reused and returned into their original containers… *Keep in mind we use our bare hands to touch the toppings and then another person will touch the toppings etc. We were asked to wash our hands once before the session began. However our hands get dirty as we touch our clothes, phones, tools etc. 3. Overall, fun and interactive session but 28 people in one session is TOO crowded. Feels like they calculated the revenue per session and thought they could push in more attendees and finally reached 28 as a conclusion… Anyways, just leaving some constructive criticism. Nothing personal.

Probably the best cakes in Brussels, and without doubt, currently the best overall bakery in the area. The quality means that queues can be longer a peak hours, but the service is always kind, patient, polite and helpful. The range of gateau is wide and of exceptional quality. Ask for the cake with the marscapone topping on a crispy base -- awsome. The brioche finger rolls with chocolate pieces baked in are also a speciality and my children's favourite.

We try regularly the pâtisserie. It's really good. A good balanced taste in between buttery and dry. The breads are also fresh and with a homemade feel. Finally, the cakes and sweets are magnificent. Not cheap, but definitely worth the money.

I discovered this café yesterday after seeing it on TikTok, and I just had to give it a try! It offers a variety of Asian dishes from Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese cuisines, which I found to be quite unique compared to other cafés in Brussels. It was a refreshing change! To my surprise, the food was delicious! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the ambiance of the place was cozy and charming. Although it might be a bit pricey, I believe it’s worth it for an occasional treat. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu next time.

Best coffee shop I've ever been to in Brussels. Everything was perfect. The iced tea was AMAZING. But the Star of the show was the Banh Mi, I had the vegetarian one and it was so flavourful. The Japanese cheesecake OMG This place is a MUST

The food looks really cute but the taste is not so special, the chai latte was not the best, ube latte is worth a try. Mochi donut had too much chocolate to feel the donut part, the veggie bao was good but the pork one was terrible not worth it at all. What an adorable find in Saint Gilles. Whether you’re into Asian delicacies or not, this one’s a must try. We tasted a couple of their sweet Ka Baos, with some handpicked tea from an entire wall lined with the choicest collection of tea infusions.

Everything at this place tastes and looks a bit cheap. I'm surprised that an adult would give a good review and hype this place. I understand that young people without such a refined taste would be attracted by colours, but not adults. The fluffies were disappointing. The toppings they use taste like chemicals. The sweet bao is even worse: it has too much sort of grease in it that you feel in your mouth (you can see the grease on my photo). Coffee is undrinkable. On the top of the food being such a disappointment, the atmosphere is typical for all below average places in Brussels: cheap and not so clean furniture, you almost feel that the chair where you seat will fall apart, plastic flowers...if you care about eating quality food and the level of calories, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Casual place for a quick bite. The set lunch is good and at reasonable price: Vietnamese salad + choice of vegi or pork Bao for €8. The drink is a bit disappointed and as well as the Japanese cheesecake. I think it's better just name it home-made or Kaki cheesecake. People who know about Japanese cheesecake will certainly compare them. Their's are bit too wet.

Really nice bakery in the heart of Chatelain. The place has a multitude of refined looking pastries, cakes and iced delicacies. I got a Chatelain cake, which is basically a chocolate mousse, with a light biscuit and a little meringue on top. The cake did not disappoint. There was not a big queue to get in, which was nice. The lady serving me that day was OK friendly, but it seems serving me was not a priority until she finished chatting with her colleagues. Items are obviously more pricey than in other stores, but you get what you pay for (which is the good stuff).

My absolutely most favorite pâtisserie in Brussels. Year after year everything is top quality. Whether a plain croissant or chocolates or the St-Honoré or the bûche de noël or the 20+ types of pastries I've tried here they have always been perfect. For the first time this year I tried a bûche de noël and while I chose a classic (the Châtelain) the ones you see photographed are quite innovative My highest recommendation!

This place could easily be the best chocolatier that I have tried. They have just the right amount of variety options between dark and milk chocolates. I believe their speciality is the orange dipped chocolates, which at the beginning I did not think that I would enjoy it, as am not a fan of the chocolate citrus/mint mix but the organe dipped chocolate from passion is a must try. Absolutely superb chocolate. We went to ~10 different stores and this was by far our favorite. They offered really great products at fair prices and the staff members (in particular Caroline) were helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. We would definitely come back again (in fact, we visited twice!).

The focus is on Liège waffles, freshly made to order with a wide range of toppings. While the flavor isn’t the richest or most traditional, it’s still tasty, and they’re generous with the toppings! They also serve gelato with a good variety of flavors. A nice little find for a quick and satisfying treat.

I really wanted to try this pastry shop and actually took a detour to go there but I must say I’m a bit disappointed. Despite the huge space they have (and a small table + a sort of large sofa suggesting you can seat there and enjoy your pastry), you cannot consume the products on the premises. So my understanding is that if you go there on the weekends you can eat there on the single table they have because there’s less risk they would have an inspection (?) Last but not least I found the prices honestly super expensive. 6€ for a REALLY small chocolate fondant seems excessive. Went for the galettes de rois ! And it was really amazing. A little sad that there's no placw to seat because the place really looks nice. I love how the pastries were presented, very professional ! Will definitely comeback to try more 😊

Simply exquisite. I have tried several and all are delicious, perfect combination of flavours and textures.

All the tasted patisseries were utterly refined and delicious and so beautifully made. Can't wait to go back again. (Ps: fully vegan, amazing!)

Everything I have ever tasted from here (cakes, büche de noël, ice cream, sorbet) has tasted exquisite and been immaculately presented. Rare to find plant-based pâtisserie this elite!
