Pastry shop
Chocolate artisan
Wittamer is a renowned patisserie located at 12 Place du Grand Sablon in Brussels, known for its artisanal baked goods such as quiche, tarts, pastries, and chocolates. The boutique sweet-shop offers a unique selection of chocolates with one-of-a-kind flavor profiles, along with tartlets, cakes, macaroons, and hot beverages.
Absolutely outstanding! Wittamer’s pastries and chocolates are on an entirely different level—rich, refined, and bursting with flavor beyond anything I’ve experienced before. The shop itself is elegant, and Nicholas was incredibly kind and friendly, making the visit even more special. A must-visit in Brussels!
Nima S — Google review
Nice outdoor seating and a wide selection of desserts. However, the service could be more welcoming, and while the cakes are visually appealing, they don’t quite deliver on taste. I also wasn't impressed with their best-seller Lingor d’Or. It's basically a marshmallow with fruits and whipped cream.
Wonder M — Google review
I was recommended this place from the classic open top car tour guide. It did not disappoint. Apparently this is the place that royalty eats at. The Paris Brest was simply delicious, and looked as good as it tasted. The raspberry tart equally as good. It was a treat to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful patisseries with a coffee.
Warren F — Google review
My wife doesn’t like sweets. She doesn’t like chocolate also! But…….. She cannot resist the temptation and the beauty of the pastry here, and we know why the Belgian royal family loves the pastry here! We too s break here for our guided city tour and it was so good! The staffs were also amazing and friendly! I highly recommend
Steven C — Google review
These guys supply pastries to the Royal so you know they are legit! You would be spoilt for sweet choices here. The pastries we had were all very good, and we definitely left with a bit of a sugar high. Loved that they did oat milk matcha lattes. You can’t go wrong with ordering any of the croissants/ pastries or the waffles.
Sindy T — Google review
We bought the Belgian chocolate to take back home as a souvenir and were not disappointed. The shop has plenty of chocolate to choose from 🍫 with various combinations of ingredients and flavors. Something sweet to remember after your visit to Brussels. Service was nice , I wish the young shop assistants were able to explain better the recipes of various chocolate combinations.
Nomad 9 — Google review
Very disappointing. The macaron tasted old and dry — I couldn’t even finish it after one bite. The dessert overall was not good either. The only positive points were the coffee and the friendly service. However, it was quite expensive for the quality. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back.
Opie — Google review
Beautiful looking sweets/pastries and kind staff that helps you. Subtle in flavour, it is a sense of luxury to eat. Unfortunately there is a small disconnect between the luxury of the goods and the style of the shop. The shop has almost a cafeteria feel, which is a shame.

Belgian waffles are a must-try street food in Belgium, especially in Brussels. The thick, square waffles come in two popular varieties: the slightly sweeter Liege waffle and the Brussels waffle. They have deep pockets perfect for holding various toppings like powdered sugar, chocolate sauce, or fresh fruit. You can find them at waffle stands all over the city and they are often enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea.
Having tried about a dozen waffles in Brussels, they all look the same and they all taste just about the same, not really great. There really isn’t much difference except for one place. This place where the waffles are fresh, the service is amazing and the taste is just out of this world. A fresh made waffle, not a reheated one. This is a great place. I will be back many many many times to come. Fresh crispy perfection!
Sven P — Google review
Absolutely loved the Belgian waffles! They were perfectly crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served fresh and warm. The toppings were generous and delicious, making every bite a treat. The service was also friendly and quick, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re craving something sweet and satisfying!
Iman A — Google review
This place is great! The waffles are crisp, light and delicious. The staff is friendly and quick. We really can’t recommend it highly enough. It is a small place but well laid out, so we had no problems finding seats inside both mornings we ate here. Likely the best waffle spot you will find.
Brian J — Google review
when in brussels, i was dead set on trying two things: fries and waffles. it became an obsession. i couldn’t rest until both cravings were satisfied. this spot looked great and was nearby, so i gave it a shot. you can choose between the liège and the brussels waffle. the liège being smaller and sweeter, the brussels lighter and less sugary. naturally, i picked the liège with caramel sauce… which, in hindsight, was a bold (and slightly disastrous) move for someone who doesn’t love overly sweet things. i sat outside at one of their cute little tables facing the street, perfect for people-watching while waiting. soon, a kind waiter brought out my waffle: warm, glossy, and smelling like heaven. the first bite confirmed it: deliciously fresh, crunchy outside, soft inside… and way too sweet for me. but that’s on me, not the waffle. if i had gone for the brussels one and skipped the caramel, it probably would’ve been perfect. also, minor personal torture: wooden cutlery. i can’t stand the texture, but again, that’s a me problem. overall, the place is lovely and totally worth it. just learn from my mistakes and order wisely if you’re not big on sugar.
Elena M — Google review
I was genuinely shocked by how bad the waffle was. The outside looked decent, but once you bite into it, it’s a total letdown. The inside was soggy, doughy, and strangely undercooked as if it hadn’t been baked properly. The texture was heavy and unappetizing, and the overall taste felt artificial. Overpriced not recommended.
Nasma S — Google review
Omg... PERFECTION!!! I finally tried the waffles here and let me just say - life-changing. Hands down the best thing I've eaten in Belgium so far!! Crispy on the outside, soft and warm inside, and every bite just melts in your mouth. It's sweet, buttery, and pure happiness. And can we talk about their service?? The staff were sooo kind and welcoming - like genuine smiles, quick service, and they actually make you feel at home
Arletes S — Google review
They offer two types of waffles (Brussels and Liège) and everything is freshly made. My waffle was served very hot, just cooked. You can choose any topping you like. I went for melted chocolate, and it was absolutely delicious. It was sweet but not too sugary, just perfectly balanced. There was a small line in the evening, so you might need to wait a few minutes, but it’s definitely worth it!
Margarita P — Google review
In Belgium on holiday via discussion we decided to go in. I have had many waffles in the last 6 weeks through Europe. This place is one that you need to walk past Waffle was not cooked properly. Icecream has thawed and been refrozen leaving the ice crystals through both flavours. Partner had Salted caramel with Banana. Mine was cupaccino. For what you are paying a better dish than this should have been presented

Pierre Marcolini, renowned as the world's best pastry chef in 2020, has spent over two decades scouring the globe for the most exquisite cocoa. His Belgian chocolates are celebrated for their unparalleled quality and flavor. From delectable almond-coated treats to rich cocoa-dusted confections, every bite promises a transcendent chocolate experience. Visitors can embark on a captivating journey through the history and production of these delectable creations by engaging with knowledgeable staff.
It's a nice clean store with plenty of products available. A great variety of gifts and the premium price matches the quality of chocolate that you purchase. Great for gifts and I like the packaging received for my simple item I purchased. Recommend
Chris A — Google review
Fine artisan chocolates. The chocolate is beautiful to look at, come in a vast flavour selection, and melt very smoothly in your mouth. They are above average chocolates.
Munchica — Google review
Was lucky enough to be invited to a tour of the factory 20 years ago. Fell in love with the Pierre Marcolini chocolates. On our recent tour to Belgium as a treat we purchased some PM chocolates to remind us how good they were. We were disappointed. The quality of the chocolate seems to have declined massively, maybe cost cutting? Would not recommend at all. Way too expensive for poor quality chocolate and poor taste.
Chris M — Google review
I love Marcolini chocolates, they are my favourite , but I’m disappointed they sold me a box for the present with expiration date in one week :(

My first time I tried this chocolate and it did not disappoint. This is the place to shop if your a chocoholic like me. I bought the assorted 25 pralines with crunchy & soft textures all dark. Best gift from Brussel! It's available in U.K ex. Selfridge

Maison Dandoy is a renowned bakery with multiple locations in Brussels, offering a variety of delectable treats such as waffles, chocolate spread, gingerbread, and Speculaas cookies. Established in 1829, this family-owned business has become a go-to spot for waffle enthusiasts. While the array of tempting toppings is enticing, many locals prefer to savor the natural taste of Belgian waffles with just a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
What better place to try waffles than Belgium? I had a Liège waffle with salted caramel butter, vanilla ice cream and hazelnuts, and a Brussels waffle topped with warm strawberries, chocolate and whipped cream. Both were delightful, but the salted butter really stood out. Absolutely delicious. Maison Dandoy is a famous spot for waffles and sweet treats. I grabbed a packet of their vanilla biscuits from their other shop at Grand Place to take home.

Nice place for waffles! -I came here on a brussels food and walking tour, the guide went in and got us waffles while we waited outside, but he said this was the store to come to for waffles. -I came back for a second time to try both kinds of waffles -The waffles are great, there is 2 kinds, the hand held original kind, which is amazing, or the square on a tray with different toppings kind, there is many different toppings to choose from. -I tried both kinds, and both were great, i do like the original alot, but the chocolate and strawberries were good too!

Famous Belgium waffle store. They have several branches and locations through out Brussels. This store have indoor and outdoor seating. I’m door area located on second floor. Taste good, I got the classic one which is good for both waffles and chocolate. Waffle are crispy and light. Credit card accepted. Enjoy !

A TOTAL TOURIST TRAP!! If you're just looking for a place to sit and have some overpriced beverages, this is the place for you!! 😚 Otherwise, honestly, the place is overhyped. The waffles were okay at best, but they cost 10€ for a basic waffle with just chocolate and ice cream. The worst part is the incompetent workers. There were four or five of them all chitchatting and doing nothing. Many tables were still available, but they made sure a line was created downstairs to create the illusion that it was full. I'm telling you, it WAS NOT. The servers didn't even bother to say hello or tell us which dish was which when serving us; they just plopped it down on the table, which we didn't appreciate. Bonus: For all the workers they have employed, the toilet is in an unbelievable state. I've included a picture here as proof, and I hope the person reading this is not eating their long-awaited, overpriced waffle right now. 😅 In conclusion - absolutely NOT WORTH it. Just take one to go if you absolutely have to, and eat outside.

Fast service. October had not much tourists. Queue was fast and random. Had the Brussels waffle with cooked strawberries and hazelnuts. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Light inside, crisp outside, chilled strawberries gave that sweet tartness to match the waffle’s sweetness. Very good coffee too! Liege waffle was ok, the cream was yummy. Lots of tables outside, and smokers beside the trash bins. Tables upstairs too, did not get to check this. Invader was here 👾
Lyntan — Google review
The best waffle I’ve ever had. They have good choices of waffles on their menu. I’ve tried the queens special which comes with cooked strawberry plus icecream and it was delicious. They were quite busy but it was work waiting in line for this great waffle.
Hilena T — Google review
Biggest tourist trap EVER!! DO NOT GO HERE!! Huge waiting line, huge prices(we paid about 11.5 euros per waffle), low quality chocolate!!! How can the chocolate be so bad??? It tastes like chocolate sauce from the supermarket. The whipped cream was tasteless and the cooked strawberries were so bland and somehow bitter?? The chocolate waffle was horrible but the speculoos one was pretty nice especially the icecream(that s why 2 stars). The seating area was ok but SOOOO COLD! Do they not have heating?? I didnt think i would ever get scammed but there s a time and place for everything :')
Janine V — Google review
We typically avoid the famous tourist food spots but we decided to make an exception for Maison Dandoy. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. We ordered a waffle with cooked strawberries and ice cream. While it was presented nicely the waffle itself was nothing special and didn't live up to its reputation. The real disappointment, however, was the drinks. Both the cappuccino and the hot chocolate were horrible. They lacked the quality you would expect from a establishment of this calibre. This visit confirmed our usual instinct to steer clear of these heavily-trafficked locations.

Laurent Gerbaud is a renowned chocolatier located in Brussels, offering a range of delectable chocolates and hot cocoa. The chocolate-making workshops held at his Rue Ravenstein address are a popular attraction for visitors looking to learn the art of making authentic Belgian chocolate. During these workshops, participants have the opportunity to taste various cocoa beans, create their own chocolate, and sample selections from Laurent Gerbaud's exquisite collection.
One of the locals recommended Laurent Gerbaud to get some hot chocolate and Belgian pralines. Truly it was a super rich and creamy hot chocolate - not sweet like many of the other chains that add sugar to sweeten the drink up. You also get one free praline to go with your hot chocolate. The shop is very comfortable and a good place to have a rest after a long walk around the city.
Nahshon — Google review
Wonderful chocolate store with incredible staff. We got there 15min before closing and they already cleaned all their utensils but they still took our order and made us hot chocolate, which is incredible!
Akash — Google review
Stepping into Laurent Gerbaud in Brussels, I definitely had high hopes given the city's reputation for amazing chocolate. They've got a great selection of chocolate drinks, ice cream, and those little chocolate cubes. I tried a few of their chocolate cubes, and they were pretty decent. However, I have to say, it was tough to tell the different flavors apart – they all kind of blended together for me, which was a bit of a shame since I was expecting distinct tastes. I also went for the iced dark chocolate, and it was just okay. While the flavor was there, it felt a bit on the watery side, which made it feel less rich and decadent than I was hoping for, especially for a dark chocolate drink. It just didn't have that super thick, luxurious feel you often expect from a really good chocolate place. Overall, it was an interesting visit, but maybe not quite what I envisioned for a top-tier chocolate experience in Brussels. It's a nice spot, but I think there's room for improvement, especially with the texture of their drinks and the distinctiveness of their chocolate cube flavors.
Yanly R — Google review
What a fantastic variety of chocolates! It was so exciting to try unique flavors like black olive chocolate - surprisingly delicious! The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming! Definitely recommended.

We really enjoyed the chocolate workshop. The instructor was very knowledgeable and made the experience of chocolate tasting very fun and interesting. Also, the chocolate was exquisite!
Alba S — Google review
Helpful and friendly staff. The drinks were great and the chocolate is good too. There's just so much to choose from that we were glad the staff was so knowledgeable and could guide us.
Tony S — Google review
I visited the shop hoping to enjoy a truly special hot chocolate, under the impression that it was a dedicated chocolaterie. Unfortunately, the drink turned out to be quite ordinary—just cocoa powder mixed with milk. Pleasant enough, but far from exceptional. It seems the establishment may be better known for its chocolates rather than its hot chocolate offerings. I had expected something richer, perhaps made with melted chocolate and varying cocoa percentages like 50% or 80%. That level of depth and indulgence was missing, and I left somewhat disappointed. It’s also worth noting that the shop operates on a semi self-service model: you place your order at the counter, and the staff bring it to your table. On the bright side, the team was friendly and helpful throughout the experience.
Anastasios P — Google review
We came here to warm up on a coldish spring evening. My husband loved their hot chocolate so much, he ordered a second one. He was not as amazed with their pralines. I ordered Americano and it was pleasant - not overburned, aromatic. Beware their Irish Coffee - they use canned appriximation of whipped cream with it, which is a totally unhealthy product that nobody should consume.

Cafe
Lucifer Lives is a popular 100% vegan restaurant in Brussels, open daily from 10:00-17:00. Despite being labeled as a cafe, it offers a variety of savory brunch dishes such as chicken and waffles, sloppy joe, and hangover platter. Situated on Rue Haute, known for its vintage shopping scene, the cafe has been recognized as the Best Vegan Lunch spot by the Belgian Vegan Awards.
Lucifer Lives is a super funky, horror movie themed vegan cafe with all the spooky vibes. 🖤Besides the spooky decor (which stole my heart!) this place is serving some of the BEST vegan food I had while in Belgium! We stopped in for breakfast & the staff were welcoming. The server was also English friendly for us. We picked the breakfast sandwich - which was SO good! The bun itself appeared to be freshly made, a generous amount of seitan, veggies & sauce made this such a delicious bite! After enjoying our sandwich we eyed up their amazing dessert case which the strawberry crème croissant was calling. It was massive & plenty for 2 people to share. The croissant was flakey, sweet & the crème filling was to die for. We enjoyed our delicious vegan food here, loved the spooky vibes & rocked out with the music. If I am ever back in Belgium, Lucifer visit is a MUST!

So delicious!!! My first vegan brunch in Brussels and I can’t rave about it enough! I had the crispy burger and it was full of flavours and so filling! Such a cool find and it was busy so obviously popular!!! Really recommend Lucifer Lives and can’t wait to come back!

I went to Lucifer Lives today after searching high and low for a nice vegan place to have lunch. To start with the atmosphere is great, the cafe is nicely decorated and there's lots of seating options. When I arrived it was packed, I assume it was rush hour so I barely made it on time to grab the lunch however it was worth it in the end because this is the best lunch I've had during my stay in Belgium. It was extremely rich and tasty. I also had a homemade iced tea which was quite nice as well. The staff is friendly and they speak English which made my experience a lot better. I totally recommend this cafe whether it's for a simple coffee, brunch or to have some lunch.

One of my favorite vegan places since the day they opened their doors. Amazing coffees, very creative and tasty dishes and desserts. The most wonderful and kind owners in a setting where everyone feels welcome. Our visits to Brussels never go by without a visit to this place!

Cute, little, vegan café with clean toilets. We choosed the scandinavian brunch, a raw cookie dough bar and some drinks. The taste was really good. If the bagel would have been less cold and the cookie dough bar less sweet, I would give 5/5.

A great, fully vegan place in Brussels. Small food menu but food was pretty tasty. I went for the Curry Chicken Sandwich for €8.5. It was a big eat and decent for the price. My wife had the Flemish Beef stew for around $17 I think. Not to our flavour profile as it has a cinnamon/clove flavour which from as little as we know is authentic but we weren't expecting it. It was full of mushrooms which we're not fans of and it arrived luke warm (more on the cold side) which was a bit off putting. Came with chips and a nice dressed salad. Iced Americanos hit the spot on a really hot day.

Deco is fantastic !! Staff is really welcoming and the food magnifique !! Loved it ! I’d visit again when I come back to Brussels . When in Brussels, indulging in an Obe Belgian waffle is a must. Known locally as gaufres, these sweet treats are available at gaufreries throughout the city. These waffles are a delightful and necessary indulgence, with various flavors to choose from. While some may find it disappointing that the decorated waffles may not always match what's served, the wide range of Belgian products offered makes up for it.
No visit to Brussels is complete without a Belgian waffle! Admittedly, I usually go for the classic waffle, without any toppings or sauce, just a crispy waffle! But we happened to pass by here, and there was already a pretty long line! What can I say? The wait was worth it! Delicious waffles and a huge variety of toppings and sauces. Light chocolate, dark chocolate, caramel, fresh strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries... everyone will find something here! We'll definitely be back!
Veit B — Google review
You simply can't leave Belgium without indulging in their delightful waffles and exquisite chocolate! The experience is truly worth the wait in line. It's conveniently located, just a short stroll of less than five minutes from my hotel. I must say, the waffle topped with pistachio and chocolate was absolutely delicious! The service was quick, and the prices were quite reasonable too. Enjoy your visit!

The best waffles on the street - sweet, crispy, and delicious! My wife and I are visiting Brussels for the fourth time as tourists. We love Belgian waffles, but they’re not good everywhere. This time we were lucky - these waffles are perfect!
Alexander N — Google review
Not at all worth the wait or hype. We were thinking of eating a well balanced crispy waffle with some chocolate sweetness and sour tasting berries. What we got was a caramelized hard waffle, overly sweet chocolate sauce and sugar coated (again too sweet) hazelnut. The dark and white chocolate sauce both were too sweet and after eating the waffle we felt very nauseous and extremely full! Note: On owner's reply to my message above I'd like to add, I chose chocolate sauce but that does not mean it is supposed to have heaps of sugar, I expect the sweetness in normal amount. Also, the hygiene level and handling of fruits by the employees was very questionable (ps. Cutting fruits with the same hand and taking payments/touching screens). Ultimately, sweetness level and hardness of waffles is a subjective matter. For me it was very hard and chewy with too sweet chocolate sauce. Also dear Obe, the reviews are not for you to give a sassy reply to every person who has a bad feedback for you, it is just for the business to improve their model for future customers. Take it or leave it, not my loss.
Rachita M — Google review
Always a long que but it moves fast. Very good options for customizing waffles but I wish they had more options in a la carte options. Waffles were very good and freshly baked but I did not like the quality of chantilly cream. Chocolate sauce was good.
Nirav P — Google review
Really enjoyed Obe's frozen yogurt during our trip. We got the waffle and the yogurt on the first day, came back again for the yogurt the next day 😋 Everyone was friendly there. My parents and I, we had a great time
J-E — Google review
The waffle itself was okay, but the batter felt quite heavy and filling, not the light and crispy kind I was hoping for. What really surprised me, though, was the topping. According to the menu, my order was supposed to include two portions of strawberries. In reality, it was just a few tiny slices, probably three small strawberries in total. That left me wondering what a single portion looks like, because this definitely didn’t feel generous for the price. I also went for the “premium chocolate,” expecting something a bit more special, but it honestly tasted like ordinary melted milk chocolate (something you could easily get from a supermarket brand like Milka). It was good, but nowhere near the kind of rich, decadent flavor I imagined when I read “premium.” Overall, the waffle was tasty, but not extraordinary. For 8€, I expected something more impressive both in terms of portion size and quality. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it didn’t deliver that wow factor you’d expect at this price point.

Finally, I’m here in Brussels — the waffle capital! 🧇 Yes 👍 very good waffle, and they also have a great variety of other delicious desserts and sweets! 😋

La Rose Blanche is a traditional Belgian cafe-restaurant located in the heart of a tourist area. The interior features a stucco ceiling rose, wood beams, and gilt-framed paintings, creating an incredible atmosphere reminiscent of an old cottage in winter. Visitors can enjoy traditional Belgian desserts like La Dame Blanche while savoring great beers and engaging in conversations with the friendly staff. The restaurant offers simple yet delicious dishes such as mussels and fries, beef stew, and beer tastings.
If you’re looking for a good, reliable restaurant specializing in local food, this is the one! We were worried about this place only because it’s right on the main Square where you would expect most places to be terrible tourist traps. But this place is not. The food is all home-cooked and Tastes wonderful. The service was good. Overall we had a very memorable experience with view over the square.

Food: - Mussels with garlic (€25) – 9/10: Delicious, highly recommended. - Beef stew with fries – 7/10: Was okay, but the portion was a bit small. - Mixed seafood stew (€30) – 7/10: Not really outstanding - Beer: I don’t drink beer often, but the one recommended by the staff was good. Service: 9/10 Friendly and welcoming staff, no service charge. Atmosphere: 10/10 Incredible view of the Grand Palace.

Had a business dinner here and it was a great choice. The location on the Grand Place is amazing — beautiful views if you sit outside. The food was tasty and well presented, and the staff were friendly and professional. It was also great to enjoy the Ommegang 2025 show, a traditional historical pageant and festival celebrating Brussels’ rich heritage, while dining. Perfect spot for a memorable business meal in the heart of Brussels.

The mussels with garlic were absolutely delicious and highly recommended. I paired them with a glass of white wine, which was perfect. Sitting outside with a view of the Grand Palace made the experience even more special—especially at night when it’s beautifully lit. A highly recommended place!

We stopped in for a beer before heading back to the hotel. We didn’t expect much since this is in the heart of a tourist area. The beers were great but the employees were even better. We had a great conversation with Alexi the bartender and by the time that we were finished, we had already decided to return the next day for dinner. Dinner was good and the service excellent. The atmosphere is incredible, even on a crowed day. They had the fireplace going and the ambiance is that of an old cottage in the winter. Absolutely fantastic.

A beautiful rustic wood beamed interior on the ground floor, with a view out on the Grand Place. The food is pricey but you’re paying for the location. Had drinks and marveled over the age of the bar.

Amazing views right on the Place. Great service and friendly staff and the croquettes were great. The inside looked super cozy, I would love to return in winter to enjoy a fireside meal :).

I was on a short, solo trip to Belgium, and I was staying in Brussels and exploring a different city each day. This day, I decided to check out the main plaza and try a new restaurant I was wanting to eat traditional flemmish food, and for whatever reason, this place seemed like a good bet. It was very crowded in the summer, so I had to choose based on what was available, no wait, and what "looked good". After an hour's walk, and checking countless menus, I ended up here, and with no regrets! I ate outside to enjoy the sunlight and upcoming sunset. I didn't feel odd to be alone, and I was not treated worse for being a solo traveler. I was given a nice corner table on the patio, an had a fantastic view of the square, and got to people watch my whole meal! The food was delicious, and it was not an overly large portion. It as enough to stuff me but let me walk comfortably back to my hotel! I got a Flemish chicken stew, in a white creamy sauce, and it was divine. I couldn't tell you what was in it- just meat, potatoes, and this amazing sauce. I ate everything! The price was reasonable, especially for a busy city center at the height of summer on a weekend. It was one of my favorite meals in this country- although, I have to admit, every meal was "my favorite". Since it is so centrally located, I had a very short walk to see some famous sculptures, murals, and just explore!

Run by the friendly Victoria and Damien, this artisan bakery offers a wide range of vegan pastries and bread made exclusively from plant-based ingredients. Embracing sustainability, they prioritize using seasonal fruits and flowers sourced from local farmers. Despite being situated away from the city center, Succulente has garnered outstanding reviews for its delectable offerings.
Wow, such a great variety of pastries and all so delicious, I wish I had more time to taste everything, they all looked so yummy. Nice to see vegan alternatives to some traditionally non-vegan sweets, I've been looking for that for a while.

Best pastries ever, and bonus points that they were all vegan and affordable! We showed up an hour before closing and left with a strawberry pastry, merengue with chocolate and chantilly, creme brulee ball, and brownie. All of them were amazing! Despite a language barrier, the woman was so kind and helpful. She used Google translate to explain certain ingredients. We wish we came a bit earlier to see more of a selection, but regardless, we are so happy with what we got. We fully recommend this place!

Neuhaus is a renowned chocolatier in Brussels, known for inventing the praline. The Swiss apothecary Jean Neuhaus covered his medicines with chocolate to improve their taste in the 19th century. His grandson, Jean Neuhaus Jr., took it further by filling them with cream in 1912. While Neuhaus chocolates are exported globally, visiting their original store in Brussels is an unparalleled experience.
Amazing chocolates. Very cute branch. The staff wax excellent at this store who helped us pick the chocolates with recommendations.

We tried lots of truffles so far. And from what’s supposed to be a high quality product with the price of 100€ per kg we expected much more. The taste is weird, bad indeed Even though the little chocolates we were given to try at the store were good
Katya Y — Google review
The chocolate is very nice, a well known reputable brand. However their prices are quite high which makes it hard to justify the purchases. The reason I've given it 4/5 is how nice the staff were, very helpful and sweet. Once we made some purchases they gave us some freebies and extras which was nice.
Hashim F — Google review
I highly recommend this shop. Neuhaus invented the traditional praline and their products taste delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, too. I recommend the „Masterpieces“ - a package of 21 assorted pralines (250g, 25 Euro). The most traditional triangle ones are really marvellous.

Should replace the blonde hair girl with glasses working at 9:20pm on Monday 15 September 2025. Might get more sales as there was no interaction with us and 3 other separate customers that walked in. Pathetic customer service - acting as if she is busy. I think the store closes 9 not 11…… lost some sales for sure. She needs a Belgium waffle or some chocolates to cheer up!
Donny — Google review
A fantastic chocolate store with great service. We got a lots of explanation and a free tasting from a new chocolate recipe that they are working on so we were really happy. I highly recommend this place. 👌
Anat H — Google review
bad service experience… there were customers asking for a box of chocolate around 500g and they didn’t even know what they wanted and were walking around the store asking about different chocolates and asking the attendant to pick this lasted about 15 minutes. After they finished packing one box, the customer asked for ANOTHER box of 500g. I understand it’s not fully the shop assistant’s fault for an unhinged customer. We had clearly already decided what we wanted as we were holding boxes, were at the checkout counter and spent some time talking about the chocolates we wanted to try. I feel like in situations like this they could have let us pay first or the second shopkeeper in the store could have assisted us, she was just moving things on the shelves acting busy. Ive been on the other side with a big order before and have been understanding when the shopkeeper asks if they can serve a customer first. Went across the road to Elisabeth instead. This was on the 6th of October.
Samantha ( — Google review
Small shop, right next to Manneken Pis, a bit expensive, but the chocolate is nice. You can buy the chocolates individually, in pre-made boxes of assorted chocolates, or by creating a custom box, by picking the box size you want (different sizes, the biggest one having about 37 pieces, weighting 500g and costing 37€) and then selecting the desired chocolates). They also have macarons, in about 10-12 flavours, which you can also buy individually or in a box (smallest one has 6 pieces and costs 10€).

A patisserie known for its exquisite brioche, Aux Merveilleux de Fred is a popular spot in Brussels for all types of dessert lovers. It's not always easy to get a seat at this busy establishment, but it's definitely worth the wait.
One of the best shops!!! The buns are so soft!! And the Pastries melt in your mouth! A must try!! It's open till 7:45pm everyday! No seating available, just takeaway. Amazing quality. Customer service is okay, because they get a ton of people everyday, so they are focused only on keeping the line moving.

We got the brioches with raisins and the ones with chocolate. We bought the gift cake box, as well, with 6 mini meringues from different flavors. It is delicious. The cramique or brioches are light and fluffy with gorgeous Belgian chocolate chips. And the mini cakes are perfect. Not too sugary, not too much meringue and with the perfect amount of flavor. You have chocolate, lemon, praline and more to choose from. We bought the pastries and were so fragrant that, in our way back, the car smelled like a homemade bakery for more than two hours. The service was great. The people in the store could speak several languages. The parking is difficult, so I advise to park in a paid parking and walk to this shop. Price is fair for the quality of the products. It is always full of clients. They also have an open kitchen where you can see them preparing and baking the pastries. Very professionals and clean.

Both the chocolate brioche bun and vegetable sandwich were superb! The bread was perfectly sweet and completed the other components wonderfully. Even with a line it was super fast to order and the workers were very friendly.

Popped into Aux Merveilleux de Fred in Brussels and oh my, what a treat! The merveilleux cakes are pure magic—tried the classic chocolate one and the speculoos with white chocolate, both so light and creamy with that perfect meringue crunch. The croissants were warm, buttery, and flaky perfection. The shop’s got this fancy vibe with a big chandelier and open baking area that’s fun to watch. The pastries were delicious, but it’s hard to sit and relax — the door keeps opening and it’s drafty, plus there’s very little space. They don’t put out new items on display, which seems to push customers to buy what’s already there. The coffee was excellent, but the place lacks atmosphere.

My wife and I visited at the end of a very hot day for ice cream! It was quite busy and there was a queue however this was not an issue as it gave us time to view the wonderful chocolate displays. The ice cream we had was so good, that we decided to go back the next day! You can really tell it’s high quality, and uses real ingredients for the flavour. We were served by the same girl as the day before (I didn’t catch her name but she was very helpful to talk to us in English and go through each flavour with us, even letting me try a bit before committing to the flavour!) and the service was just as impeccable as it was on the previous day. 10/10 and I would definitely 100% come back here!

Nestled in the vibrant northern section of downtown Brussels, Galet is a must-visit for waffle lovers seeking an unforgettable treat. This charming spot specializes in freshly made dough that transforms into mouthwatering waffles topped with an array of creative options. While it may not boast extensive seating, the experience here is all about embracing the local culture—enjoy your delicious waffle on a bench or while strolling through the city.
It's a very good waffle store. This is a take-out only. You can actually see the waffles being made because of the glass wall. I ordered the vanilla waffle with chocolate topping. The waffle was fluffy, sticky and just the right amount of sweetness! I highly recommend this waffle shop in Brussels.
R M — Google review
I have to say, these waffles are truly exceptional. I tried the raspberry waffle with whipped cream and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The whipped cream alone deserves a special mention, it instantly earned a spot in my personal top three, simply because it doesn’t taste like the typical store-bought kind. It has that fresh, homemade quality with a light, creamy texture that feels authentic rather than artificial. The waffle itself has a subtle, slightly tangy note from the raspberries, which balances beautifully with the sweetness and richness of the cream. This contrast makes every bite interesting, never overwhelming or too sugary. It feels carefully thought out: simple ingredients, but elevated through the way they’re combined. In general, I’d say these are some of the best waffles I’ve had in this city. On top of that, the prices are refreshingly fair, especially compared to some of the more “famous” places that charge much more for a far less memorable experience.
Kasia P — Google review
Look no further. After trying many waffles across the city, this is the one. The Liège waffle here is absolute perfection. It's dense and chewy with a rich, buttery flavour, but the magic is in the pearl sugar. It creates this incredible crispy, caramelized crust on the outside while some bits inside remain crunchy. Served warm, it's a truly unforgettable treat. Don't waste your time elsewhere!

This waffle store is amazing. Only available for take-out. You can see how they make the waffles through the glass wall. We got the vanilla, chocolate, and raspberries. The waffle is dense and chewy, offering a rich and buttery flavor. While it leans a bit too sweet for my taste, I truly think this is the top spot for waffles in Brussels.

Belgian Waffle Galet was honestly a bit overrated. We tried the chocolate chip waffle, it was just average, and the cinnamon apple one was really not good. To make things worse, both waffles weren’t even hot when served, which made them less enjoyable. Overall, not worth the hype.

Say goodbye to bland and thawed donuts from those well-known fast-food chains, and make way for COCO Donuts Sablon, the number one destination for delectable filled donuts in Brussels!
Delicious doughnuts! Lots of flavours! Great service and friendly staff. We arrived 2 hours before closing and they were still making fresh ones. We tried the chocolate bomb, white chocolate pistachio and lemon curd. I must say the lemon curd was a huge hit with all of us, so I’d recommend trying that one.

Good donuts but they could use a little more filling for the filled donuts. They were very fluffy and big, but the amount of filling just doesn’t add up. The New York Roll was probably the best thing I have had in ages. Thank you for that. Will definitely pay another visit in the future.

Stopped by on Monday near end of day and tried a few donuts: Apple, cookies and cream, and boston cream. They all looked and tasted good. I think they were closing in 30 minutes so I’m sure they would have tasted even better earlier in the day when they were fresher. I read somewhere to try the lavender and rice krispies, but they were out already so didn’t have many selections left. The girl working was also very nice and pleasant. Would liked to have tried more selections, but was short on time and just passing through.

I went there because I'm vegan and they have a great range of vegan donuts there. The service is quick and efficient, warm welcome. Donuts are absolutely divine. Very generous without being stuffy. Would definitely recommend!!
Silver W — Google review
Cozy, though stuffy, little donut place in a nice area. Decent variety of big, home made donuts and seasonal special flavours. Prices are not cheap, but the donuts are quite big. Flavour wise they are fine, and the seasonal varieties are fun and worth checking out. The dough gets a little chewy very quickly, however, and the “normal flavours” (like white chocolate with sprinkles) are lacking anything special. These are by no means bad donuts, just don’t expect anything outstanding. Do try to see if the seasonal favourites tickle your fancy.

The reason of visiting here is to enjoy hand-made Donuts. Yes its artisanal Donuts. The variety and flavours they have are really unique in town. They are big in size and full of delicious stuff on it. Apart from Donuts they have Chai Latte and Golden Latte very specific and one must try it. Whenever you are in center its worth visiting this place to enjoy yummy Donuts.

The matcha was so well done. The aesthetic is fancy, and the R&B music added to the vibe. The donuts are creatively decorated and presented. I had a rose donut, which was glaze with dehydrated rose petals. It tasted wonderful. My friends hade their variety, including an Oreo one. All tasted great and we enjoyed our time there. Great variety of delicious sweets for a fair price, truly a place I cannot help but wander in from time to time when I’m close by. Once you try it, you’ll always want to have more!
Javier D — Google review
Mind-boggling selection of baklava and various Mediterranean sweets with a variety of nuts, spices and flowers worked into them. Of course, with quantities like these, there is no way they can always be fresh, so, while beautiful and temptingly looking, some of them had been sitting there for a while and where therefore drier and harder than they would be if you were to catch a fresh batch of them. But great to draw inspiration from for a culinary visit of the Southern Mediterranean from to Turkey or Morocco.

Glad we found this place during our short stay in Brussels. They have a wide variety of pastries from different areas of the Mediterranean that had an amazing flavor and weren't too sweet. The staff and owners were super helpful and friendly, great experience!

The two different pistachio desserts I bought looked delicious, but they turned out to be stale, so I don’t recommend them. I gave a rating of 2 only because the staff were friendly and smiling.

Lots of selection. My first time buying these kind sweets anywhere and the associate was so helpful. He recommended a few of his favorites. Be sure to have your tea ready at home to enjoy these.

Having to check out of our stay early, this was just about the only place open early enough for us to get breakfast. The food was really good and there was fresh squeezed orange juice on the spot. This was delicious. They were even able to accommodate us for what we were hungry for even though some of what we wanted was only available for lunch. The inside was very clean and it had a very peaceful atmosphere.

Just got round to posting this but I guess it is still valid. We were there around two months ago with a group of 3 others and while the place seemed nice I got sick a couple of hours after eating an early lunch (we all had a different breakfast but same lunch). Went to the doctor-food poisoning, Two others from the group who also had the beef pie experienced the same symptoms. Beware.

Le Roi de la Gaufre, also known as The Waffle King, is a popular waffle shop located near the Grand Place in Brussels. It's renowned for serving up authentic and delicious Liege and Brussels waffles topped with a variety of options such as fruit, chocolate, and cream. The inviting aroma of freshly made waffles fills the air as you step inside this warm and friendly establishment. Visitors praise the excellent service provided by the attentive staff who are happy to offer recommendations.
Some of the best waffles I've ever eaten!!! They were made fresh so were nice and warm. The batter was crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The cream worked really well with the biscoff sauce. Very reasonably priced compared to similar other places nearby. I would highly recommend!!
Lana W — Google review
This was our first Belgian waffle experience. Stopped here quite late on a hot evening. Ordered different waffles for all fo us. I watched then making the waffle and it's not a typical batter but almost like a dough which I found quite interesting. The waffle itself was delicious, crispy on the outside and soft inside. It was also not too sweet. Prices are excellent as well. Ice cream are also really good.
Carl T — Google review
Not recommended. She simply reheat the waffer tat is already done. Not crispy at all. Good thing it is less sweet compared to Liege waffles. Disappointed. This is my first review post in google. Actually almost all prepared in some other shops. Only see one van on the go tat do fresh ( maybe should find this in future )

The waffle was pretty okay. It was hard and not tasty. The shop itself is beautiful and serves a wide variety of flavours. The coffee was decent. I was let down as it was the first cafe that we went to in Belgium and had high expectations! Just a visit worth for the beautiful ambience!
Rashida V — Google review
The waffles were delicious, my girlfriend and I got three waffles, whip cream with banana, strawberry and Nutella and cinnamon waffle with whip cream and Carmel and an Ice Tea for a total of 26€. Definitely would recommend. Limited seating and small establishment.

The place a nice and quint. Good coffee and a plethora of gaufres to choose from. The staff may need to more attentive to the customers but overall great place for a quick coffee and gaufres.

They have waffle with plenty of topping choices. I went for the classic one, waffle with Belgian chocolate on top. It was freshly made and really nice. The place is a bit narrow and was packed with people, so dining in was a bit hard at the time. It was also a little hard to find, even with Google Maps, as it’s tucked down an alley I wasn’t familiar with.

Also winner of the best praline, happy to take time and explain you the ingredients and work done to get to this result. Fine selection of Japanese and French-Belgian bread and pastries. The chocolate selection is truly amazing ... The creme brulee with green tea is a killer, best creme brulee ever 😍

I disagree with other reviewers who said their desserts were not too sweet. Except for the creme fraiche strawberry cake, the other cakes I tried are too sweet for me, especially those with mousse. Considering the high price tag, I don't think I will return
Sleepy K — Google review
Great little place. A family business with interesting recipes. The chocolates and the filled croissants we tried are very good quality. The little cakes are next. But everything looks good.
Gabriel C — Google review
If you love the idea of a Japanese bakery, then this place is certainly worth a visit. Be warned that most of their products are "Belgian", but the care and the expertise they put in their work is amazing. Each fruit of their cakes is carefully respecting the overall symmetry. Their colours are bright without being fake. Their flavours delicate and elegant. Don't be surprised if you will have to queue outside, with little signs of life in the rest of the neighborhood: the quality of the place is getting known (also, if it means something, among Japanese expats).

Hands down one of the best cookies I've had in a long time, especially from a restaurant setting. It always seems to come across as a mass produced cookie: good but could be better. Each cookie we had definitely had more of a small batch/home kitchen taste and feel to it. Chewy exterior with a gooey center, my favorite.

An exquisite experience, definitely unexpected. Was very tasty and full of flavour. This bakery offers a wide variety of sweet treats along with some savory options. I tried the pain au raisin, which was well-caramelized and generously filled with pastry cream. I have celiac, so it was great to find a proper safe place in that area of BXL. However, by the time I arrived they barely had items left (17:00), and I found no seating other than a separated high stool, as the place is very small and people don’t leave once they’re done eating… So I couldn’t enjoy a 100% comfortable experience. But the quality was quite alright!
Helena C — Google review
I understand that it is a bit expensive, gluten free bread unfortunatly always is. What I disliked though was that there is just hummus, cherry tomatoes and arugula in their 'sandwich'. Making it very bland

The majority of the menu is vegan-friendly, offering a tasty vegan tahini sauce. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or trying to stick to a budget, Maha has options for you. While the interior may not be luxurious and comfortable, the staff is friendly and attentive.
I am a local, I am not a tourist with expectations. I love quality. I love people who are passionate about their thing. More then 4 years ago I overheard people sitting on a terrace next to me, Syrian brothers, they were moving from a very famous city in the Netherlands to open a restaurant. 4 years later, if I need some food with love, some soulfood, something I can not cook in my own kitchen, I have a few places in Brussels I go to and Maha is a precious one, we are so HAPPY and GRATEFUL to have Maha in Brussels. Some food, when you drink or eat it, every cell in your body is screaming THANK YOU. This is food that heals you. On top of that, chat with the owner! You will be delighted by the conversations and topics you can have. What I love about Maha is everything, the smile that welcomes you when you arrive, the warmth that fills your heart, soul and body, the food made with love that is super nutritional and very healthy and the fulfilment you feel leaving the restaurant, feeling happy. Quality is priceless. I always forget to take pictures of the food, but I will add them on my next visit! I recommend fully! Don't hesitate, Maha is a topper for us locals!

Everything was really good and the staff super nice as well! We particularly enjoyed the halloumi fries. I would definitely be back!
Alexandre W — Google review
Food is good, service is friendly, the downside for me was a plate on which food was served - old rusty with paint coming off (see photo) & toilet without towels or handdryer. So maybe I try it again, but only to take out.
Ana F — Google review
I am not a vegan but sometimes I would like to have a light salad. Maha offers a good and light salad with fried falafels. The drinks they sell are quite interesting. The sauce of salad is sesame sauce and is also quite natural. The flavor is quite mild, neither too sweet nor too salty. I do enjoy a peaceful evening there. Btw, there is no air conditioning in the room so better avoid hot days to eat inside.
Yuan F — Google review
Kind staff and clean place. However, the falafel wrap was the most unimpressive wrap I had. The falafel was not fresh, reheated on a tray. Bland salad and sauce. Also 4.5€ for a 27cl beverage feels off. I wouldn't recommend the wrap based on my personal experience.
Tibet D — Google review
That's how the decline of a restaurant begins: you walk in and the place is empty, even though it's dinner time. Maybe here is one of the reasons: once I ordered my wrap and the staff, wearing gloves, start cleaning and picking things up off the floor, then stuffing and pressing towels into the bin with all their arm in it. I watch them go back to the kitchen and start preparing my wrap, with the same gloves on. I break the silence and ask them to change the gloves they just put in the bin. Disgusting. I can't understand how disconnected from their work they must be to provide such service and ask €9.50 for a tiny pita. I won't come back.
Manuele — Google review
The food is undoubtedly excellent, good quality, fresh and hot. The place is nice, but there is a very strong smell of fried food because the kitchen is open. So the atmosphere is hot and unpleasant to eat in. By the end I was sick of the smell and couldn't finish my juice. Even so, I recommend the restaurant if you're vegan, as the options are delicious.
Ana M — Google review
Easily one of the top places for a delicious veggie/vegan meal in Brussels at the moment. Discover the delightful world of cinnamon rolls at Have A Roll Brussels, a specialty bar located in Bailli. Indulge in a wide variety of rolls, from classic cinnamon to more innovative options and seasonal specials. This Belgian bakery has mastered vegan American-style cinnamon rolls, offering fluffy, moist treats with an array of delectable toppings. Pair your roll with a refreshing drink like the yuzu refresher or savor the coffee-infused mocha roll.
Have a Roll is a must-visit for any cinnamon roll enthusiast, especially if you’re vegan. As someone who adores cinnamon rolls, I can’t recommend their creations highly enough. Each roll is perfectly spiced and generously packed with gooey cinnamon goodness that makes every bite a delight. What’s fantastic is that they offer a variety of versions and toppings, so you can always try something new. Whether you’re in the mood for classic cinnamon, a decadent topping, or something a bit more adventurous, they’ve got you covered. And if you can’t finish them all in one go, they’re perfect for taking home. I always grab a few to enjoy later, and reheating them at home brings back that just-baked taste, making it feel like a special treat all over again. The shop itself is cosy and compact, but it’s big on flavour. Besides their incredible rolls, they offer a nice selection of coffee and other drinks. So even though it’s a tiny place, it’s definitely a place where you can have a big taste experience. If you’re in the mood for a vegan treat that’s both indulgent and varied, Have a Roll is definitely worth a visit. You’ll leave with a smile and a bag full of delicious cinnamon rolls!

It’s been long time since I posted about a food place, but I had to because these cinnamon rolls are heavenly. They were delicious!! We tried their lavender lime which was perfect not too strong lavender and good bit of lime, the Bischoff, the cookie dough, and the original. The dough was perfect texture and the variety of toppings are amazing. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their toppings! And the fact they are vegan is a major win! As a vegan I find it hard at times to find specific items usually good desserts. These cinnamon rolls are a 11/10 👌🏽🤤
Tasha S — Google review
Very nice place, though it’s a shame you can’t really sit down properly to enjoy your food. There are seats outside, but they aren’t what you’d expect from a local café, for example. Overall, the cinnamon rolls are very tasty— I do recommend heating them up in a microwave, though. Cinnamon rolls are typically tastier when warm. I tried the speculoos rolls multiple times and, albeit a bit expensive, they’re very high quality and vegan. A perfect treat.

Now with two locations, Pastries comprising everything from Choux and Viennoiserie to shredded Phyllo an ambitious undertaking, staff proves pleasant when describing options in multiple languages while quality is evident in the first bite of layered lamination that shatters quietly. Offering scaled down Cakes and Entrements, the Saint Honore a work of art from Cream to crunchy Sugar, Kadayıf is boldly aromatic and soaking wet while the Bret gets a boost from an unannounced layer of Caramel and Praline that adds a whole extra layer of excellence.

I have yet to visit a Koulepis location. I did however have the pleasure of having my wedding cake made by this team. I am writing this review to tell you that koulepis managed to make 180 people turn to my now wife & I to ask who achieved this extraordinary feat of making an incredible Saint Honore for 180 people. Your successful wedding cake has been and continues to be a 1 of a couple success stories of our wedding. Thank you. See you soon.

I tasted their cakes selection during a brunch . They have also some easter chocolate shaped structures ideal for a gift for kids . The vanilla and chocolate cream eclair were delicious. The lemon meringue was equally good . The chestnut crumb i didnt tasted it but it looked good

Very good patisserie! We tried “ekmek kataifi”, “st honoré”, “bougatsa” and variety of cookies. The cookies were a wonderful way to pair with our coffee! The Rhodos version of bougatsa initially made me a little sceptical, but after tasting it, I was completely won over! Overall, a must try!

Anaïs Gaudemer's patisserie Cokoa is a taste sensation, with delicate floral pastries that bring scenes from nature to life. The whole team is friendly and helpful, and the cakes are seasonal so you're likely to find something new every visit.
Excellent cakes and good quality. Friendly service. You need to order the cakes online and you pick them up on the chosen day. Their cookies are also delicious. Their working hours are a bit tricky, so make sure to pay attention to that.

I’m disappointed with my order. I asked for a little sign on the cake — I can accept that it came on a separate plate, but the plate was very tiny and the writing was done so poorly. Honestly, I could have done it better myself and won’t be putting it on the cake. The cake itself also looks much less nice than on the website. I really hope that the taste is better than the presentation.

in short: delicious! Location. The headquarters of the pastry shop is a very small " laboratory " and in a non-central area. But the air you breathe is chocolaty magic. Sweets are ordered online and picked up on site. Payments only by bank transfer or Banking App. FOOD. The choice is generous and the presentation is like in a « fairytale ". Beautifully presented desserts with floral decorations. The flavor is delicious but not banal. I chose the " IL COLOBRÌ " cake. Sometimes the photos don't match the dessert: in this case, the delivered product is exactly as you see it in the catalogue!! PRICE. adequate SERVICE. Fast, reliable, kind No food is consumed on site. Only pick up desserts ordered or buy biscuits on site

If you are looking for a delicious, Brussels locally owned shop that makes enticing treats this is the spot! If you’re coming into town to celebrate an event, message the shop ahead of time to see if you could enjoy one of these cakes while you are here! I’m so sad that we missed the opportunity, but we will definitely keep this in mind for next time! I wish we lived here so we could have a cake made for all special events! Everything was so beautifully crafted and the attention to detail is stunning! This place was recommended to us from someone in the states who has been before and they did not steer us wrong! We are only in Brussels for a few days, but glad we visited!!! We ate several of the cookies and marshmallows from Cokoa’s grab and go section but it was so good we made a second trip for more of the marshmallows!!! We had to get one in every flavor. I cannot recommend this place enough. There’s lots of cute things to do as well if you’re staying in Brussels central area and do make the easy metro journey to this bake shop. The owner was so sweet and she recommended a sprawling, gorgeous park nearby which I second if you have felt locked in the city buildings; as well as one of Brussels oldest cafés! We came prepared with cash because we read other great reviews that talked about needing to bring cash, but I was pleasantly surprised that they also had an app available if we needed to pay via our phones. We will add this to our “must visit list” when we recommend Brussels!

Tastes like cheap supermarket cake. Pricing based on the one natural flower that they are putting on it. Delivery is super expensive, their shop is in couple of kilometres from my house but they charge me 15euro. In total, not worth to buy

Brian Joyeux is a pastry shop located near the Congress Column in Brussels, Belgium. It specializes in making all kinds of custom cakes and pastries, with different specialties available each day of the week. In addition to these sweet temptations, they are known for their excellently flaky croissants. The quality of their cookies is top-notch, although some find the place and staff a bit pretentious. Despite this, visitors are unlikely to be disappointed with anything they try there.
Very beautiful place with a variety of exquisite French pastries. Simply a fairytale paradise for those with a sweet tooth. My choice fell on the coffee eclair and tarte Tatin, I always wanted to try it in the original. I would also like to note the very relaxed and casual atmosphere of this place, the staff is very friendly and speaks English. Thank you and see you soon☺️

Title: A Culinary Oasis at Brian Joyeux I recently had the pleasure of indulging my taste buds at Brian Joyeux, a pastry haven that redefines the art of sweet indulgence. This quaint establishment has earned its place as a culinary oasis, leaving an indelible mark on my gastronomic journey. The star of the show was undeniably the Pain au Chocolat with Pistachio, a masterpiece that transcends the ordinary. Each flaky layer envelops a symphony of flavors, with the richness of chocolate seamlessly blending with the nutty notes of pistachio. It's a tantalizing dance on the palate that elevates the humble pastry to a work of art. Beyond the heavenly pastries, what sets Brian Joyeux apart is the warm embrace of its staff. Their genuine passion for their craft is palpable, and their friendly demeanor adds an extra layer of sweetness to the overall experience. The attentive service creates an atmosphere where every customer feels like a cherished guest. While the prices might be on the higher side, the impeccable quality of the pastries and the exceptional service make every penny worthwhile. Brian Joyeux isn't just a pastry shop; it's a destination for those seeking a transcendent culinary experience. In the world of pastries, Brian Joyeux stands as a beacon of excellence. If you're willing to invest in an unforgettable gastronomic adventure, this is the place to be. Prepare to be enchanted by the divine fusion of flavors and the welcoming charm of this extraordinary establishment.

Excellent chocolate making class…very well organised and informative. We had an amazing host, so enthusiastic & engaging, made the experience so much fun! Left with 3 different types of chocolates. A must do in Brussels, would highly recommend!
Vikesh M — Google review
Enjoyed the chocolate making class, though sharing trays with other people is less than ideal when it's strangers. I also wish it was one tray per person for medallions so I could try more writings - I was limited by the size of the tray and had to leave enough space for other people. There's also a shop. Their chocolate is quite expensive, but there is 20% off after the workshop.

Booked the chocolate making class with friends while on vacation. Overall the experience wasn’t too bad, the truffles tasted amazing. It was a cute activity to add to the itinerary. However, I feel like the class size was just too large for the space that we occupied. Wish the class size was a bit smaller as a lot of people were in each others personal space so it got a bit hectic.

Several Comments: The staff were friendly but very direct. For People complaining about how rude the staff is; You should have been there on time. 1. We were told to arrive 20 min early. However, people were late so we start late. How is that fair to the people who come on time? If the Session is 11:00 it should start at 11:00 since we are following their strict rules. 2. Hygiene was not up to standard. NO masks, NO Apron (15euros), NO Gloves were provided (Even-though it should have been according to their guidelines). The chocolate/toppings used in the session are all reused and returned into their original containers… *Keep in mind we use our bare hands to touch the toppings and then another person will touch the toppings etc. We were asked to wash our hands once before the session began. However our hands get dirty as we touch our clothes, phones, tools etc. 3. Overall, fun and interactive session but 28 people in one session is TOO crowded. Feels like they calculated the revenue per session and thought they could push in more attendees and finally reached 28 as a conclusion… Anyways, just leaving some constructive criticism. Nothing personal.

Le Saint-Aulaye is a renowned patisserie and bakery in Brussels, known for its high-quality pastries and bread. Established in 1986, it takes its name from a small town in the Dordogne where the owner trained. The cakes and pies are particularly recommended, offering a delightful balance of flavors. The bakery prides itself on fresh, homemade-style bread and an array of magnificent cakes and sweets.
I stopped in Brussels for a day before coming to Paris and saw that this Pâtisserie stood out in its reviews so I thought to try it. They seem to be more of a neighborhood place as they’re a little far from the downtown and transit centers, but it’s well worth it to stray a little to try this place. I walked there, so I had a couple croissants and an apple tart with the idea they’d be easy to enjoy while walking. Now days later, even after having tried multiple highly rated Parisian places, I keep thinking about the apple tart I had here.

Probably the best cakes in Brussels, and without doubt, currently the best overall bakery in the area. The quality means that queues can be longer a peak hours, but the service is always kind, patient, polite and helpful. The range of gateau is wide and of exceptional quality. Ask for the cake with the marscapone topping on a crispy base -- awsome. The brioche finger rolls with chocolate pieces baked in are also a speciality and my children's favourite.

BEST. CHOUX. EVER. The owner and an employee were there when we got there, and they were so nice! They answered any questions we had, and were super patient with us! Unusual cookie flavours (I will try the pistachio one next), nice spot with nice staff. The must are the filled ‘choux’, that are not overly sweet which is much appreciated. What a lovely place! Food: all the drinks are really amazing. You have an option to get all of them warm or iced. There’s more original options like coffee and matcha, but you also have many interesting flavors! All the drinks are really authentic and tasty Service: The girl working today was very friendly and very helpful. She was patient and helped us make the right choice, even letting us spell different options to decide what we want to go for. We were allowed to bring an additional table to the garden! I discovered this café yesterday after seeing it on TikTok, and I just had to give it a try! It offers a variety of Asian dishes from Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese cuisines, which I found to be quite unique compared to other cafés in Brussels. It was a refreshing change! To my surprise, the food was delicious! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the ambiance of the place was cozy and charming. Although it might be a bit pricey, I believe it’s worth it for an occasional treat. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu next time.

Best coffee shop I've ever been to in Brussels. Everything was perfect. The iced tea was AMAZING. But the Star of the show was the Banh Mi, I had the vegetarian one and it was so flavourful. The Japanese cheesecake OMG This place is a MUST
Chay B — Google review
The food looks really cute but the taste is not so special, the chai latte was not the best, ube latte is worth a try. Mochi donut had too much chocolate to feel the donut part, the veggie bao was good but the pork one was terrible not worth it at all. Now the cheesecake, sigh, it had a nice texture but the flavour was lacking

What an adorable find in Saint Gilles. Whether you’re into Asian delicacies or not, this one’s a must try. We tasted a couple of their sweet Ka Baos, with some handpicked tea from an entire wall lined with the choicest collection of tea infusions.

Everything at this place tastes and looks a bit cheap. I'm surprised that an adult would give a good review and hype this place. I understand that young people without such a refined taste would be attracted by colours, but not adults. The fluffies were disappointing. The toppings they use taste like chemicals. The sweet bao is even worse: it has too much sort of grease in it that you feel in your mouth (you can see the grease on my photo). Coffee is undrinkable. On the top of the food being such a disappointment, the atmosphere is typical for all below average places in Brussels: cheap and not so clean furniture, you almost feel that the chair where you seat will fall apart, plastic flowers...if you care about eating quality food and the level of calories, I wouldn't recommend this place.
Ivana K — Google review
Casual place for a quick bite. The set lunch is good and at reasonable price: Vietnamese salad + choice of vegi or pork Bao for €8. The drink is a bit disappointed and as well as the Japanese cheesecake. I think it's better just name it home-made or Kaki cheesecake. People who know about Japanese cheesecake will certainly compare them. Their's are bit too wet.

Really nice bakery in the heart of Chatelain. The place has a multitude of refined looking pastries, cakes and iced delicacies. I got a Chatelain cake, which is basically a chocolate mousse, with a light biscuit and a little meringue on top. The cake did not disappoint. There was not a big queue to get in, which was nice. The lady serving me that day was OK friendly, but it seems serving me was not a priority until she finished chatting with her colleagues. Items are obviously more pricey than in other stores, but you get what you pay for (which is the good stuff).

Elizabeth Chocolatier: A Taste of Bliss I was so happy to find this place again. Having visited a couple of years ago, I already knew their bonbon selection was excellent. But as a fellow lover of all things cocoa, I thought I'd finally reached my limit, and Elizabeth Chocolatier proved me wrong once more. Stepping inside their Brussels shop, I was immediately hit by the intoxicating aroma of rich, dark chocolate a scent that promises pure indulgence. The staff were as delightful as the treats themselves. They were helpful and kind, guiding me through their exquisite selection of bonbons and truffles. I left with a box full of tiny treasures, each one a perfect bite of bliss. The chocolate is high quality, with a smooth texture and deep, complex flavour that lingered long after the last piece was gone exactly the way I like my bonbons. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or just looking for a sweet escape, Elizabeth Chocolatier is an absolute must….visit. I should have known better than to go around the city with my hands full—especially in Belgium, where I'll just have to keep buying more chocolate tomorrow. The image I posted was from my previous visit. With my hands and mouth full of chocolate, I couldn’t capture any pictures, which is a clear testament to the quality of these chocolates.

I’ve been going to this shop for years, way before I moved to Brussels. I remember asking for some chocolates from Passion when any visitors were going to Belgium. This place could easily be the best chocolatier that I have tried. They have just the right amount of variety options between dark and milk chocolates. I believe their speciality is the orange dipped chocolates, which at the beginning I did not think that I would enjoy it, as am not a fan of the chocolate citrus/mint mix but the organe dipped chocolate from passion is a must try. Always good quality chocolate and excellent service. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Chocolate shop
Galler Chocolatier is a must-visit for chocolate enthusiasts looking for unique flavors and alternatives to traditional pralines. The shop offers an array of chocolate products, including macarons with unexpected but delightful violet flavor. In addition to chocolates, the store also sells various sweet treats like pralines, candies, and marzipan. Visitors can even find novelty items like horseshoes and hammers made entirely of chocolate.
Delicious, high-quality chocolates in clean and modern packaging. I 💯 recommend going to this store if you want to take good Belgian chocolate home or if you are looking for a snack. If you like dark chocolate, try their Peru pralines, the taste is absolutely magic.
Maria L — Google review
Galler is an excellent choice for those visiting Brussels in search of quality chocolate. With a wide range of products that cater to all tastes, the brand stands out for the refined flavor of its chocolates, especially the truffles, which I believe are a true highlight. The history of Galler dates back to 1976, when Jean Galler founded the company with the ambition of creating chocolates that combined innovation and tradition. Since then, the brand has been synonymous with excellence, recognized for its dedication to craftsmanship and the quality of its ingredients. Compared to other prestigious chocolate houses in Brussels, Galler offers more affordable prices, making it a choice that provides great value for money. While it may be considered a safer and less daring option compared to more famous and extravagant brands, Galler's products still manage to surprise with their authenticity and refined taste. Overall, Galler chocolates provide a delicious and balanced experience. A reliable choice for chocolate lovers looking to explore an alternative that combines quality, variety, and good pricing.

Manneken Pis Waffles offers a delightful taste of Belgian culinary craftsmanship with its two main types of waffles: the rectangular Brussels waffle, often topped with various toppings, and the sweeter Liege waffle with crystallized sugar. The small bronze statue of Manneken Pis, depicting a little boy peeing into a fountain below, is an iconic part of Brussels' culture and is often dressed up for city events.
The Belgium waffle base is crispy and fresh. The toppings with Pistachio, Dark Chocolate, and Strawberry were mellowed together. It is a nice waffle shop!

Small place to have a quick waffle. They have in several variations and are freshly made, which is not the same everywhere in Brussels. The place is very small so it is more to take away. The oreo waffle is very good though!
Nikita N — Google review
Stumbled upon this small waffle spot in Brussels by chance. It’s a casual place with limited indoor seating, but there are benches and high tables outside where you can enjoy your food standing. The focus is on Liège waffles, freshly made to order with a wide range of toppings. While the flavor isn’t the richest or most traditional, it’s still tasty, and they’re generous with the toppings! They also serve gelato with a good variety of flavors. A nice little find for a quick and satisfying treat.

What an absolute great find. Waffles are made to order in front of you. They're a good size and not too big. Definitely great value for money. Fresh fruit on top too made it even better. The service is second to none. The lovely lady working was greeting everyone, ensuring seats were available, even for those waiting for take away. Her energy was infectious, dinging along with the music, having a great time, and putting a smile on everyone's faces. 100% worth supporting this small business.

Axelle F — Google review
I'm in love with this place. Their pastries are incredible, and they didn't fall into the common pitfall of so many bakers: oftentimes bakeries offer either great pastries and so-so bread, or great bread and so-so pastries. Not here! They focus on what they're amazing at and leave the bread to Boulengier, who are also masters in their craft. That's right, masters. That's how good the pastries are and I'm not easy to please when pastries are involved. Try their croissants and you'll get it. They. Are. Incredible. Delicate, flaky and buttery; just what a croissant should be, yet these are a rare find these days. Service is also always with a smile, it's a real pleasure to come here. You can tell the owner is doing what she loves!
Pierre-Louis P — Google review
The first time I tried it was good. But I couldn't try it anymore because they don't accept visa and MasterCard under 10euro and you find it out when you are about to pay. So bring your cash if you want a croissant!

Good products but pricey and they almost have nothing left at 10-11am even if they are open until 18h… Also, a member of the staff once told me that a discount would be applied after presenting my own takeaway box for 10 times, however they asked for my email address just the first time and never mentioned the discount again, even though I always carry my own box Overall disappointing

Their famous croissants come in both traditional and mini sizes and are often featured in some of the best brunches in Brussels. The owner opened the original location to meet the demand for top-notch French bread in the city, particularly their crispy baguettes.

Attracted from outside for the good smell of fresh bread, I decided to try it for fast breakfast. They prepare bread own production. Baguette mainly in several ways as well as sweets: cake, pan brioches, bignet and similars. But not only, They also offer possibility of small selection of food and drinks. Infant you can create your own sandwich choosing the ingredient to put inside. Location is great, Good idea. Well done 👍

Great place to have around the corner. Going to pop buy for baguettes in the weekends. Quite soft but tasty. They take card and speak English Edit: been back some more times and sadly not as happy about it anymore. Baguettes are soft and not crispy, and staff not very nice. Guess I was just lucky the first time around

Try the coal bread!! I already forgot it’s name, but it’s black, and looks like it was way too long in the oven. But it wasn’t! It is actually very healthy, and the most important fact for me: it’s SO delicious!! I stop here every time, just to buy this bread, because in my opinion it’s very tasty and just perfect. It’s not to hard, it’s not to crusty, it’s not to smooth- it’s delicious. And the normal baguette is also in the league of best baguettes in Brussels for me. It tastes like it’s also made of sourdough, and it has also the perfect consistency. This bakery is not far away from „De Brouckère“ Metro, and also not far away from „Gare Du Midi“ - you can also walk a nice sightseeing route from the one station to the other. You can just Google „Charcoal Bread“- to see how healthy it is :-)

Amazing vegan sweets! The fondant was delicious! Highly recommended!
Briana S — Google review
I really wanted to try this pastry shop and actually took a detour to go there but I must say I’m a bit disappointed. Despite the huge space they have (and a small table + a sort of large sofa suggesting you can seat there and enjoy your pastry), you cannot consume the products on the premises. When I asked about it, they told me that « on the weekends is easier because we don’t have the license ». So my understanding is that if you go there on the weekends you can eat there on the single table they have because there’s less risk they would have an inspection (?) Anyway, I get that they don’t have a permit to allow consumption of foods there but then they should remove that table because it’s confusing. Last but not least I found the prices honestly super expensive. 6€ for a REALLY small chocolate fondant seems excessive. Yes it was good, but I would have for instance wanted more explanation about the products they use to justify the price etc. If you label yourself like a « premium » luxurious vegan bakery shop you should at least train the staff to explain the creations :) that’s my personal opinion. I think it’s overrated

Good taste but little slow on delivery even with less crowd in the shop. Atmosphere is good. Price is good as they have space for seating also. 1 star less only for speed of cooking, rest all was great.
Dinesh S — Google review
I Tried the Waffle Factory and was honestly underwhelmed. The prices are quite high compared to other waffle spots in the city, and the quality doesn’t match the cost. Surprisingly, the savory waffles were better than the sweet ones, which lacked the richness you'd expect from a Belgian waffle. The hot chocolate was very disappointing — extremely light in taste, almost like colored water. The interior has an industrial feel that lacks warmth or charm, making the experience feel more like a fast food stop than a cozy waffle café. Not the best choice if you're looking for authentic Belgian waffle vibes.

I ordered a waffle with milk chocolate and pistachio sauce along with an iced Americano. The waffle itself was average, and the outside tables could have been cleaner. However, I really appreciate the staff — the iced Americano wasn’t on the menu, but they kindly made it for me. Great service from the team!

Ordered a Liège Mont-Blanc and received a waffle missing the toppings promised. Staff seemed misinformed and did not pay attention to the orders placed. can’t praise this place enough. it was truly amazing! The staff, the chocolates, and the atmosphere were all wonderful. We absolutely loved their chocolates, and the prices were quite reasonable. Definitely a must-visit!

A visit to Belgium isn’t complete without Belgium chocolates. We knew we wanted souvenirs to bring back home and Neuhaus was perfect. Their chocolates are so decadent and rice - you can tell the chocolates are high quality and well crafted. We opted for a mixed chocolate set to try a variety of different chocolates, although one of our favourites is definitely their pralines for the texture and crunch! The staff here is also so friendly and passionate about chocolates!

Pharmacist Jean Neuhaus would perhaps be surprised that his pharmacy has become a world famous chocolatier and shop selling undoubtedly delicious creations at a hefty price. You are walking into a bit of history when you enter the shop, and you will leave with a smile and a lighter wallet. Expect to pay €100 for a box of their best selection.

Had the milk chocolate mousse. It was absolutely divine. Milky, creamy, chewy almost in texture. Would recommend and will be coming back. FYI the mousse is only open from Wednesday to Saturday, welcoming guests between 11 am and 6 pm. Got a free little box of chocolates for sharing our email address too

I have got a massive sweet tooth, but the chocolate there is nothing special to be honest. I am not impressed and I paid 7€ for those 4!!

Thank you so much for the lovely service and yummy ice cream! Emilienne is truly formidable, very professional, friendly, funny and has a gorgeous smile! Her colleague Ryan was also very helpful and friendly! We will definitely be back soon!

One of the nicer station establishments, tucked a little out of way of the main crowds and bright and airy inside. Staff are friendly and speak good English. It seems the place can get busy as the cleanliness could have been better- ice cream stains on seats and crumbs everywhere. Overall recommend this place between trains.

Sabrina was excellent and provided us with great choices in selecting ice cream flavor. She also came to our table and offered a glass as we were trying to drink water from our bottle. She bubbly and full of energy. Her smile and attitude made our experience great in Hanan daze. I wanted to appreciate her.

It takes ages to order, and the staff with red hair ignored me queuing and served other people first. Even you ordered online, they still ignored my order. Truly rude and impolite. Very unfortunate to experience this in this big brand. Hopefully, the staff will be better trained and chosen more wisely.

I was passing through Brussels today for a meeting, and due to no seats being available on the plane, I had to take the TGV. I was pleasantly surprised upon my arrival this morning by the warm welcome from the girls, especially Souheila for her energy. The products were good and fresh. A big congratulations to the owner.

Paul in Brussels offers a good selection of espresso and pastries, with some pastries being better than others. The location is clean and spacious, and the staff is friendly. Unlike other branches, this Paul has a dining menu suitable for brunch, including cooked omelettes. The manager is highly praised for her ability to address any issue or special demand. The restaurant provides consistent French food with solid service and pleasant decor, making it a great option for dining in Brussels.
I never had any snails or anything in my food. I always had the best time in this Paul; the food, the staff and the coffee are amazing. This Paul is situated in such a vibrant location that if you ever come across a protest or walk of some sort, you can enjoy the view from the side living room area that they have.

Very dissapointed. I ordered a piece of pizza and a coffee 12€. 9 € only the pizza (see the pic). First they didnt advertised the price of pizza and partially my fault of not asking, but is common sense that cant be more than 5€. After the guy told me to pay I was shocked and I told him with 9€ you can eat a margherita in a proper restaurant and please advertise the price. The coffee was waterish like the poorest quality ever. Very bad services. Not a place to go definitely!!!

Disgusting and Unacceptable🤮 I found a live snail crawling on my lettuce after eating most of my meal. Absolutely horrifying! 😡 Staff didn’t even properly apologize. IF YOU’RE PLANNING TO EAT HERE, BE WARNED -FINDING A LIVE SNAIL IN YOUR FOOD SEEMS TO BE PART OF THE EXPERIENCE. I was so disgusted that ended up in the restroom poking out what I ate. Horrible hygiene, terrible handling of the situation. Never ever again. ⛔️

I do not recommend the Sandwich Club de Luxe - very disappointing. I got a sandwich with disproportionate amount of ham, slice of salad, two cherry tomatoes and mayonnaise. No egg, no cheese, no cucumber. Nothing to do with the photo or description - just twice as small and twice as expensive as any other sandwich there.

Espresso was pretty good especially compared to most other places in Brussels. Pastries were a mix with some of them being pretty good while other being a bit gummy and unappetizing. Clean location, nice staff and larger than I expect it to be inside. Would get espresso and croissant again.

One of my favorite cafes. Dubai, Tokyo, and Brussels all had the same taste. I like the croissants and lemon tarts. It is open from 7am so great if you need.a quick bite in this area.

After having a random craving for a simple baguette ham and cheese sandwich for the past several days, I came to Paul. Cookie shop

Maison Dandoy - Galeries is a popular cookie shop in Brussels with delicious waffles and tasty speculoos Belgian waffles. The staff are kind and the cookies are excellent. The place can be quite busy at times, but it's well worth the wait.
We are just visitors and are none the wiser about what constitutes as good waffles here. However, the waitress at the restaurant next door pointed us here and we duly followed. What I can say is, the lightness of the waffle and the juiciness of those cooked fresh strawberries were absolutely divine. I was at the same time up in the fluffy white clouds and running through a prairie, with the scent of sweet strawberries in the air. I fear my expectations of waffles is now raised and may struggle to enjoy normal waffles in the future. Is this a curse?
William W — Google review
If you’re wandering through Brussels in the drizzle and need a sugar-fuelled pick-me-up, Maison Dandoy in the Royal Gallery is a no-brainer. Yes, it’s busy. Yes, the queues snake out into the arcade. But once you’re sat down, ideally with a view of the gorgeous vaulted ceilings… it’s all worth it. We grabbed a two-seater outside (indoor space was shut for works), and despite the slightly chaotic energy from staff, our server was warm, chatty, and genuinely lovely once things settled. Inside is beautifully styled: wood panelling, wild wallpaper, biscuit tins arranged like museum pieces. It avoids feeling touristy, which is saying something given the location. Food-wise? Top marks. The Liège waffle with salted caramel butter, whipped cream, and caramel ice cream was pure indulgence. Crispy, chewy, sweet, and deeply satisfying. Their speculoos affogato also deserves applause — the proper Belgian speculoos adds this savoury depth that supermarket Biscoff could never. The shop is a treasure trove of biscuits, speculoos everything, and beautifully boxed treats. You’ll come for a waffle and leave with a biscuit haul you didn’t plan on. Verdict: Waffles worth queuing for, décor worth photographing, and speculoos that will haunt your dreams (in a good way).

Cute and delicious waffle shop! I visited Brussels for a quick weekend trip at the tail end of a longer European tour and almost forgot to get a Belgian waffle before heading back home. Thankfully, Maison Dandoy was there to save the day — they’re open quite early (including before my early flight), have a great spread of waffles and cookies (perfect for a last-minute souvenir or gift), and were able to give me my caffeine fix. It trends a bit expensive, but it’s within reason for such a touristy part of town, and the variety of options, friendly service, and other conveniences make up for it. I got a classic Brussels waffle with chocolate sauce and marinated strawberries. The waffle was perfectly thin, light, and airy, with a slight crunch / crispness on the outside but the most delightfully fluffy center. The toppings certainly made it sweeter, but the waffle itself has a lovely subtle sweetness. The chocolate sauce was super rich and smooth — to be expected from Brussels — and I loved the pop of acidity from the strawberries, although they did amp up the waffle’s sweetness quite a bit. I can’t imagine this waffle in its typical form (also with vanilla ice cream) and how sweet that would be, but this was within a comfortable range for me, especially when paired with an americano. I’d definitely recommend sharing with someone; the waffles don’t look large but definitely get to be a lot with how sweet they are and how rich some of the toppings are.
Sonya H — Google review
The waffles are absolutely amazing — crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfectly sweet. Their speculoos biscuits are also delicious and make great gifts to take home. The café has a warm, charming atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with a coffee and dessert.

You need to be waited to be seated, then all is well. Service is good. The cinnamon biscuits are unique. The waffle is very tasty and well prepared.
Mehdi B — Google review
Maison Dandoy is one of those spots that actually lives up to the hype. We tried the Crunchy Atomium and it was perfection! The Belgium waffle itself wasn’t overly sweet, which made it feel balanced and classic. The crunchy topping added just the right amount of texture and depth without being too much. The real standout though? The whipped cream. You can tell it’s freshly made… light, creamy, and the perfect finish to every bite. Definitely worth the stop if you’re craving an authentic Belgian waffle experience. The wait wasn’t long at all, and we even got a little spot at one of the tables directly outside.
Roamin R — Google review
Amazing waffles. Probably the best you will have. Try the sweet base which is circular and not the square one which is bland and called brussels especially if you are from India. For toppings, go with strawberry, whipped cream and chocolate. Mouthwatering with a fusion of flavours
Lionel P — Google review
The Brussels waffles were terrible — they tasted like old store-bought waffles: dry and empty. The strawberries were clearly from a can. The Liège waffles were a bit better, but nothing special. There are definitely better places for waffles out there. I strongly do not recommend this one. Don’t trust the recommendations on social media.

Forcado Pastelaria, a beloved establishment in Saint-Gilles since 1982, is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. This charming store and tasting room specializes in traditional Portuguese pastries, particularly their famous pasteis de nata. These delightful treats are filled with creamy custard that embodies the essence of Lisbon's culinary heritage.
Lovely place! I tried three kinds of pasteis de nata: pistachio and raspberry, lemon and chestnuts. They were all tasty! You can tell they use good quality ingredients. I also tried an orange dessert that was also nice. The person working there was very friendly which made the whole exeperience wonderful!

Fun fact: my first pasta de nata took place in Brussels. It was delicious, but because it was my first one I can’t compare. However, I didn’t like their matcha latte at all :/. They allow to study or work there. It’s a nice spot for a date too, or just to meet up with friends ;)

Delicious pasteis de nata. As delicious as the ones I ate in Lisbon at the famous Pastéis de Belém. Crispy dough and tasty filling. Is heated while you wait. I tasted the “regular” version as well as the one with a hint of lemon. The latter is not bad, but I prefer the regular one. You can eat this inside, but the space looks a bit cold. On the sidewalk is a bench where you can also eat it. Detail: waitress used hand sanitizer, which is another plus.
J. A — Google review
What a terrific café! The most incredible, authentic pasteis de nata; much better than you will get in Lisbon. You can feel it is made with the original recipe. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The coffee is very good. Overall a fantastic place to take a 15 minute timeout.
Brian I — Google review
The tarts are tasty and crisp, the coffee is just ok. They lose a point because the staff member just picks up the food with her bare hands, which is a bit gross Edit since the company responded: thanks for explaining but that is very prone to failure and it’s not a good look. You could just buy some tongs. I won’t change the score as I think this is silly and the coffee was not great.
