This posh, boutique hotel offers guests sweeping views of the promenade beach and a wealth of amenities perfect for a relaxing day. From the chic interiors to the outdoor pool and terrace, The Promenade has everything you need to take advantage of your stay in Kovalam. The staff is friendly and competent but limited in English, which can cause some confusion during transactions.
Room felt a little small for that price. Great complementary breakfast, but service is rather slow. Terrific filter coffee. Parking - none on-premises, but they help. Excellent location overlooking the beach - wish they gave us a beach facing room

The stay was AMAZING. First off the location it is in is absolutely amazing. Extremely close to the beach, and to the town so you can get to both in extremely short periods of time! Next, the overall vibe of the hotel was very nice. Clean, well mantained, overall good looking hotel inside and out, and most importantly some amazing staff. One specific member, Prabu, was really exceptional. He went out of his way to make it memorable for us, by making sure we had everything to celebrate my dad's suprise birthday. He is genuinely interested in making sure we stay longer or want to come back again. The room service food was also so good! The restaurants at the hotel were also so diverse and amazing. The rooftop dinner restaurant was so good, and the continental Asian food was surprisingly extremely delicious. There was so many options from sushi to Thai curries. If I'm ever in town again (which I 100% will be) I will ONLY be staying here!
The only thing good about the hotel is the location and the breakfast. The hotel has no service standards to meet 4-Star hotel grading. Only the lower-level staff, like the Valet and the securities are professional. The hotel management has a lot to work on and some of the staff need a lot of training on etiquette, they need to understand that everyone coming here are paying quite a bit of money to stay there.
If you're visiting Pondi I suggest that you stay in a nice French heritage property to get the real experience in White town.

An excellent location, marred by indifferent and whimsical planning and management. Cars cannot directly approach the hotel but that's not a major issue. It's a short walk of 50m and the hotel staff is available to help.
The rooms are another issue. Each room is outfitted differently with either a King size, Queen size or twin beds. They have different facilities and even different brands of toiletries.
The top floor has a continuous hum of the AC plant located on the rooftop, next to the kitchen, causing disturbance.
The staff is polite and helpful though a tad bit untrained.
The breakfast spread is very good.
Overall, a reasonable hotel but don't expect value for money.
The Promenade Hotel was an incredible experience, and we had a great time. The location is to die for, as there is a street right outside the hotel beside the rock beach with shops and markets all around. Everything is within walking distance - the Ashram, Museum, Casa Blanca. The location of the hotel beats any other. Alongside that, the food is exquisite. For anyone who loves desserts, the macaronis are to die for. The spaghetti with meatballs and the rice with steamed egg curry are some of our other favorites. The food is very well-made, and well-served. Additionally, there are multiple other experiences within the hotel itself like Ladies Night, the Rooftop Cafe and so on all of which were incredibly fun experiences. Finally, the staff on duty were nice, kind and very friendly. I would highly recommend speaking to Humaira, if you are staying in The Promenade Hotel. She was accommodating and compromising, like helping freeze some of our food or even getting certain dishes ready even after the restaurant closed. She is also incredibly friendly, and we had a great time conversing with her. Alongside her, the rest of the staff were also very sweet and made the experience that much more special.
Excellent stay at The Promenade! Exceptional hospitality from Prabhu at reception to the restaurant staff, especially Cindrella and Priya. Loved the Bay of Buddha dining experience. John at Storyteller’s Pub and Shrija with the karaoke made the evenings memorable. This was our second visit in 30 days—can’t wait to return!
Our stay was truly wonderful, and the staff was excellent. We had booked a sea-facing room, which was absolutely worth it. The only slight drawback was that the view was partially blocked due to Independence Day celebrations on August 15th.
The rooftop restaurant, Bay of Buddha, serves amazing food. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, it's definitely worth a visit.
Special mention to the receptionist, Prabhu – he was extremely helpful, thoughtful, and very well-spoken.
The hotel is located right on Promenade Beach (also known as Rock Beach), which is perfect for watching the sunrise. It is in White town and Everything from cafes and churches to temples is within walking distance.
We noticed a few comments about cleanliness on Booking.com, but we personally didn't face any such issues. For us, it was a perfect stay — 10/10!

Villa Shanti Hotel & Restaurant is a down-to-earth choice with bright rooms and suites, featuring a bar/cafe and a restaurant with a patio. The ambiance is nice, offering a rooftop view of the beach. Guests have enjoyed having dinner with a beach view and cool breeze. While cocktails were reasonably priced, some found the wine to be expensive. The food was praised for its amazing taste and good quality, although portion sizes were considered moderate.
We had a great time staying at Villa Shanti. Subhajit was very helpful in an accommodating us at the last minute, and gave us great prices. A bit, thank you to Martha for introducing us to the hotel and the amazing spa services they provide. Love the ambience, the vibe and the excellent service, the breakfast was super delicious.
We enjoyed the spa service a lot! The deep tissue massage and the classic massage were amazing options. The aroma oils that were used were especially very relaxing and soothing. Everything was very well taken care of, thanks to Zaheer and his team for providing amazing massage services.

Highly enjoyed this hotel! The food was incredible and beautiful lay out. very clean and nice comfortable bed. The service was great with everyone being so kind, respectful, and personable. My fiance and i got the massages for 90 minutes and it was incredible!
Our party of four arrived for dinner at 6pm and were told that the restaurant opens at 7pm. However, we were welcome to have a drink as the bar was open and so were seated and showed menus. When we wanted to order a drink, staff were milling around ignoring us and we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. After 30 mins we left in disgust. In general the place looks nice but with such appalling customer service I recommend avoiding eating or staying here.
Had been to Villa Shanti for lunch.. its a very nice place with excellent food… very nice ambience… we had the Lobster thermidor and it was delicious. Also, a special mention to Ram, he took excellent care of all of us.

The Villa Shanty Hotel has beautiful decor & is nestled in the heart of Pondicherry within the french district. Good value accomodation restaurant menu is a little thin for vegetarian choices - nonetheless the place has charm & oozes with history.

Our stay at La Villa was nothing short of perfection. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism, with every member of staff demonstrating the highest standards of customer service. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel truly special.
The highlight of our experience was the incredible seven-course taster menu. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The creativity and craftsmanship of the chefs were evident in every bite, making it an unforgettable dining experience.
There are too many names to mention who made this stay exceptional, because everyone who was on duty during our stay offered service above and beyond, from the reception staff, the staff who oversaw the restaurant to the kitchen and housekeeping staff however, a big shout out to Anil, Masee Lupin and Daia They all really know how to make a stay really special.
To make our stay even more special, the team went above and beyond by decorating our room for my partner’s birthday celebration. The effort and thoughtfulness that went into the setup made the occasion even more magical, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate.
The theme continued the next morning with breakfast, we once again sat outside for a great breakfast, juice, great coffee, an assortment of fresh fruit with yogurt. Bread, croissants and pastries together with a hot option. What more could we need ! We loved it and to add to this, the service was excellent.
A huge thank you to everyone at La Villa for making our stay so memorable. A big shout out to Anil, Masee; Lupin and Daia. If you’re looking for exceptional service, first-class dining, and a truly special experience, this is the place to be! We can’t wait to return.

We went to La Villa, Pondicherry for lunch on a weekday, and the experience was nothing short of peaceful. With no crowd around, the whole place had a quiet, unhurried charm that felt incredibly calming. The outdoor seating was especially lovely — surrounded by trees and a soft breeze that made the meal feel even more relaxing. The food was quite enjoyable. The prawn starter stood out with its great flavour and texture, while the beef spaghetti was just okay. But the highlight was definitely the La Villa special dessert — it was too good, with so many textures and layers of flavour that we absolutely loved. Overall, it was a slow, soulful afternoon that felt like a breath of fresh air in every way.
We stayed here for 2 days. The best part is their service, each staff is very well behaved, Very helpful and always on the top of their heels to help. Good spacious and neat rooms. Good food as well. This was one of our best stay in Pondicherry so far, we had been here more than 6-7 times in various properties but this one stands out and full credit to their staff. We will definitely come back to this property when ever we are coming to Pondi again. Thanks team, i am not putting the staff name here since each one of them was great..

The food is spectacular! The simple chicken leek soup is the most sublime thing I have ever tasted. The lamb just melted in my mouth. The dessert was not just some tart with a dollop of ice-cream but an explosion of conflicting flavors that melted in the mouth to sweetness.
Had the tasting menu dinner for my wife's birthday. Superlative food. Every course was well thought out and extremely well presented. And lip smackingly delicious. Highly recommend this place. Daia and karuna were both excellent at service. Amazing place.

Palais de Mahe - CGH Earth is a sophisticated hotel located in the French Quarter of Pondicherry. The hotel's majestic courtyard, deep verandas, attractive pillars and period furniture combine South Indian flavor with French fervor for an unforgettable experience.
This is more of a gratitude letter than a review for this hotel for providing us with the most incredible service and a memorable experience. The treatment we received here reminded me - "Atithi devo bhavaha" (A guest is equivalent to God).
On a girls trip to Pondicherry, when I was looking for nice hotels to stay, I came across this gem of a place in White Town. Walking distance to the beach and perfect tourist spot, this hotel adds to the beauty of Pondicherry.
Our incredible experience began as soon as we stepped into the hotel with a traditional welcome drink and flower garland. We were given a warm welcome by Shyam and he also briefed us about the amenities and nearby activities.
Next, as we walked through the corridors to our room, the architecture is noticeably spacious and the tastefully traditional. It has the perfect mix of French colonial meets traditional India.
The room had a king size bed and an extra cot along with a sofa and center table. There was also an armoire and study table with a chair in the room. Despite of all the furniture, the room had plenty of space to walk around and did not look cramped at all. The bathrooms were clean and had robes and slippers for each guest.
Services like laundry, spa, mini bar, restaurant has additional discounts for the guests.
Breakfast was included in our stay and I thought it would just be a breakfast buffet of Indian and continental foods. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, I noticed a black board with a huge menu listing a wide variety of breakfast foods and drinks. I thought each guest could probably order just one dish from the menu. We were informed that we could try as many items as we would like to eat. We ended up trying a bunch of different dishes and each of them were delightfully tasty. Chef Vellapandi and Chef Jagadeesh stopped by our table to greet and we had a chat thanking them how delicious all the food was. They asked us what we would like to eat for breakfast the next day and that they can include guest request into the menu. We requested to have puri with curry and what a pleasant surprise it was to see the item show up on next day's breakfast menu. Both the chefs provided us with recommendations of foods to try for dinner and breakfast.
From booking cab or rickshaw for our excursions, to letting us try making flower rangoli for Onam - Shyam was extremely thoughtful and helpful.
We also booked massage sessions with Ayurveda spa that offers so many varieties of services that catered our needs. Our massage therapists Grishma and Kasturi made sure we had the most relaxing spa treatment.
The staff accommodated all our requests and went above and beyond with their hospitality and service. If you are looking for a place that offers peaceful vibes and impeccable service, make this hotel your next choice and experience the true luxury of getting pampered yourself.

In the beautiful French quarters in Puducherry, there lies a jewel called palais de mahe, a boutique hotel with 18 rooms. The hotel has an excellent location right next to the sea, offers beautifully appointed nice rooms, a cute swimming pool and is manned by a fantastic team, who are there to take care of you in the best possible manner. The best part of the hotel is the food that it's restaurant Les Alizes offers!!! Being vegetarian i can only comment on the veggie dishes.. and they are lip smacking. Head Chef Kathir is more than adequately supported by chef Antony, chef Akash and chef Neethu. The people between the food and you are Raghvan, Mugunthan, Nithya who advise, explain and bring the food to you!!! The hotel chain CGH Earth is doing an amazing job in southern India by creating beautiful properties, manning them with excellent teams and making all out efforts to make the experiences unforgettable!!! Qudos to them all!!!
A beautiful hotel near the beach. Small and personal. Great service, especially from Sayantan in the restaurant and Adrin at reception. They and the rest of the staff made our visit most enjoyable.
We had a lunch and three breakfasts here and the food was very good.
The rooms are excellent and well-appointed.

A great hotel. Perfect location, close to the sea with a very welcoming atmosphere from the minute you arrive. The service was so attentive. The rooms are lovely with high ceilings, which made them cool and very quiet. We ate most nights at the restaurant and enjoyed excellent inexpensive Indian meals. Having an in-house henna artist was a bonus we were not expecting. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return.
Overall a very good place to stay in a great location. Staff are attentive and the hotel has real character. The top floor open sided restaurant takes great pride in its food and Chef Poorna Chandra visits each table to give advice and ensure guests are fully satisfied. This is particularly helpful if you are unfamiliar with the local dishes.We were served by Sayantan but all the staff are equally as helpful.
We stayed for 3 nights in this fantastic hotel. The best location in Pondicherry, right by the beach and walking distance to most of the sites. The hotel is truly gorgeous and the pool is great after a day walking about. The front door staff were able to advise us on what to see and do in Pondicherry and very welcoming.
The restaurant is on the roof and serves an extensive breakfast. We ate twice in the evening and it was the best food we had eaten in all of India. The staff are lovely. Saroj, the manager, was so welcoming and helpful. The chef, Prurnachandra, came out both evenings to ask how our meals were, and was delighted that we were happy. Thank you to all the staff. Beautiful small hotel, located close to the beach in the French Quarter. Very spacious, well appointed rooms. The highlights are the staff, at reception, the bar, and dining terrace. We were served the best Indian breakfast in the 3 weeks we have spent in the south of the country.

Located in the French Quarter, it features elegant rooms in a Colonial-style building, along with dining options such as the Perumal Restaurant and Bar where guests can enjoy local cuisines and beverages.
My wife and I stayed at Maison Perumal with my in-laws, and honestly, it was one of the highlights of our South India trip. This place is tucked away in the Tamil Quarter and has such a warm, charming vibe, you instantly feel like you've stepped into a peaceful little time capsule.
The staff were amazing, super friendly and always happy to help. From the moment we walked in, we felt like part of the family. The building itself is a beautifully restored heritage home, with lovely courtyards and traditional design that just adds to the whole experience.
Now let’s talk about the food, wow. Every meal was packed with flavour, made using fresh, local ingredients, and had a cool twist on classic South Indian dishes. One night, we even got to watch a live cooking demo, which was a fun way to learn a bit more about Tamil cooking (and snack while doing it!).
We also took out their e-bikes and explored the streets of Pondicherry, such a blast, and honestly made us feel like kids again. Whether we were chilling in the courtyard with a coffee or out riding around town, the whole vibe of this place was just spot on.
If you're looking for something relaxed, authentic, and full of character, this is it. We left feeling totally refreshed, well-fed, and super grateful for the experience.

Oh my goodness, I couldn't recommend this beautiful place more highly. From the welcoming entrance with a wreath of jasmine flowers to the room itself with so much attention to detail we couldn't fault it. The room was huge, spacious and full of small details that were so delightful, even the mini bar was well thought out. Someone really put thought into every aspect of how this old home became converted to a hotel but still staying cosy and homelike in the best introduction to India possible.
The staff were so beautiful and friendly, the food is excellent and its a gem of a place we were so happy to find to start our honeymoon! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
I stayed for 3 nights at this beautiful Tamil heritage property and had a truly memorable experience. The place is very clean, homely, and conveniently located—just a short walk to White Town and the main beach. Valet service was helpful since parking can be tricky. The South Indian breakfast was outstanding, with piping hot idlis and dosas served straight from the kitchen. The warm welcome with a garland, pooja, refreshing drink, and towel really set the tone, staying true to Indian tradition. A special thanks to Anamika at reception—she was gracious, kind, and an excellent host, even taking time to share Pondicherry’s history with us.
The property also offered many in-house activities, both free and paid. My wife and mom loved the complimentary mehendi, and we also enjoyed cycling around on the free bikes provided. The staff’s attention to detail stood out—our room was ready with an extra bed even before we arrived, the car was spotless and stocked with water before departure, and every little need was thoughtfully taken care of. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a no-fuss, homely, and culturally rich stay.

It’s set in a heritage bungalow, so the ambience is very calm, beautiful & welcoming.
The chicken & fish thalis were both YUM & filling! Well cooked, flavourful and comes with dal, fresh dahi, and tarri. The complimentary Pappadam is just too good.
In beverages, you must get the Banana Lassi! 5/5 recommend this place for sweet staff, good space & 10/10 traditional food (especially if you need a break from the European cafés in Pondy)

The food here is highly overrated, and I'm genuinely surprised how this restaurant has such good ratings. Based on the vegetarian meals I tried, it shouldn’t be even considered as a option for veg food. I haven't tried the non-veg items, so I can't comment on those but I do hope some genuine reviews come up to reflect the actual experience.
Last week, I ordered South Indian vegetarian meals and was extremely disappointed. Every item lacked salt, spices, and basic flavor, it was completely bland. Honestly, this was one of the worst meals I’ve had, especially after spending ₹1900 for a meal for 2 persons. Paying a high price for such tasteless food is truly unacceptable.
What's not to like in this fabulous 130 year old Chettiar mansion. It's an experience to be cherished for life. Thr stay, the food and the service outstanding beyond words!! A big big thanks to Manager Elby and his team (Anamika, Samy) as well as Chef Babu and his team. This one comes highly recommended.
Visited for the first time today at 8:45 PM. Very disappointing experience. The waiter behaved in a rude and suspicious way, almost as if customers are a problem for them. No politeness, no basic courtesy. Felt very uncomfortable.

Stayed here in May 2024 and really liked it. The place was super clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff were friendly and everything was easy and relaxed. Would totally stay again if I’m back in the area.

It's 4.25 pm. Entered the property half an hour back. The security at the gates are a disaster. Due to durga puja procession it was difficult to enter through entry gate so went to exit gate but the security literally drove us out. head of security also failed to understand and help so finally had to go in reverse on a busy road and managed to get in through the entry gate.
Room was still not ready.
Finally room rcvd has water seepage. Child is hungry, wife is angry.
Alternate room will take 1 hour to get ready.
The two hapless ladies on the reception are trying their best but they just can't manage the issues with so many guests.
It's a mess.
My stay is for 3 nights. Hoping things will improve and I will be happy to change the ratings from 1 star to something better.

We celebrated our child’s first birthday at Monet Hall, Le Royal Park, paying ₹750 per plate for the chicken menu. Sadly, the overall experience was below expectations.
The food quality was extremely poor — the biryani and Shahi Tukda were almost inedible. The hall looked good but wasn’t well maintained. Service was chaotic: no chairs for guests, welcome drinks not served despite multiple requests, and the staff seemed completely disorganised.
Though we had more guests than planned (which I understand is not the hotel’s fault), about 30% of our guests didn’t get several food options. Yet, we were charged the full amount.
The manager initially hinted that a ₹1,000 tip and polite discussion might result in a small deduction, but the final bill was ₹1.2L with no adjustments. They instead promised a complimentary non-veg buffet for two, which they later refused to honour, saying the new GM stopped such offers. Replacing that with a 10% discount was insulting.
If the hotel charges per plate, every guest should get full service and all dishes. Promises made must be kept.
Would not recommend Le Royal Park for events. Shenbaga Hall offers much better food and value for money.

Location was the only dampner.. was neither in French town nor near a beach. Since we drove and had a car at disposal, it didn't matter much. But if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with a place to laze around then go for a beach resort instead.

Even though we had more guests than expected, at least 30% didn’t get most food options, yet the hotel charged us the full ₹1.2L! I even tipped ₹500, and the manager demanded ₹1,000 more before settling the bill, promising a small reduction — nothing was deducted. They instead offered a “complimentary non-veg buffet for two” as compensation, which they later refused to honour saying, “the new GM stopped it.” Instead, they offered a ridiculous 10% discount on their terrible food.
If you charge per plate, ensure everyone gets the full meal. If you promise compensation, honour it. Changing your GM isn’t the customer’s problem. I don’t want to ruin their business, I’d have given at least 3 stars but the 1 star is mainly for their dishonesty.
Please don’t waste your money here.

Bed provided to us was really bad ,, it was like shaking if you turn or sit don't know how we managed the whole night with the kid.
The split Ac was worst , full train sound all night & you could see the duct accumulated in the louvers. Need to improve a lot in this as people want calmness inside room at night & we woke up as early at 5-am due to these 2 two issues.
Kindly provide good hospitality with the basic requirements.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The rooms are quite large and very well maintained. All the functionalities lights, curtains etc are fully automated which makes your very convenient.
Breakfast was awesome with wife variety.

Exceptional Stay at Residency Towers
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Residency Towers in Pondicherry, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was blown away by the top-notch ambience that exudes luxury and comfort.
The service was truly excellent – the staff were courteous, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. The rooms were immaculately clean and tidy, and I loved the fully automated features that made my stay even more convenient.
The food was simply delicious, with a variety of options to suit every palate. What impressed me most was the reasonable rates considering the high standards of service and amenities. The spa was a highlight of my stay, offering great treatments at affordable prices.
My only minor suggestion would be to clarify which services are included and which come with extra charges. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Residency Towers to anyone looking for a comfortable, luxurious, and value-for-money experience in Pondicherry. One of the best hotels we stayed at in India during our 15 day holiday. Hotel was immaculate and had excellent amenities. The staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful. Rooms were sparkling clean with even the smallest details cleaned spotless (like baseboard, grout, and shower heads).
Only criticism would be that upon our arrival the air conditioning in the room had been running for so long that the room smelled damp and musty and our bedsheets were damp. They quickly changed our sheets but the damp smell lingered our whole stay.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone travelling to Puducherry.
The Residency welcome us warmly and the staff were all very pleasant and engaging. They served well just for out one night stay. Welcomed us with a simple seashell neckalace and welcome drink. After checking in, they even called in the room to check in on how the room was. Just asking us how our day was also pleasant. Rooms were big and had a good ambience. Well maintained as well. My wife loved the big room and the whole French heritage vibe of the building. Honestly didn’t expect such a spacious room in the busy White Town area. It was a nice surprise. The corridor is a bit narrow, but the size of the room makes up for it.
Service was really good too. The staff were polite and helpful. Shoutout to Chef Arun. He asked us how we wanted our food and customized the Dragon Chicken for us. It turned out super tasty!
Overall, a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend it. Totally worth the money.

Great. Old heritage building with rooms that match the era.. Wooden blackout shutters on windows, four poster bed, but modern bathroom. Breakfast is OK, cold food but edible. If there is option to give negative stars, I would have choose it. I was welcomed by the big rat in the hotel reception. If front area is like this just imagine the room. I am writing this review using the hotel wifi. We had early check in, which hotel staff co-operated as room was already vacant. This is the only good thing happened till now. I am calling room service and help desk from last one hour for basic service of hand towel and bath towel, which I haven't got. Bathroom tap was not working earlier, now it's not stopping. Very pathetic service and they charge like 5star hotel. I have already paid for 4 days so I left with no choice but to stay. But people please don't book this hotel, look for other options please.
The room was not as clean as expected, and unfortunately, the TV and plug points were not functioning, which was inconvenient. Got the ground floor room besides the store room. It was spacious but damp and moist at the start. There was a smell which you get in places always closed and have 0 ventilation. No window facing outwards.
The pictures are not updates, the bathrooms have got mould. AC doesn’t work well, you will need that in Pondi weather.
Location wise it is convenient, but not worth the amount you pay. Breakfast is okish so rather eat outside.

AI Images shows wonders, and nothing with service or look alike in anyway in real, bathroom sinks are broken and funges rules the show. It was our first visit to the beautiful city of Pondicherry. As much as we enjoyed exploring the city, we also had a thoroughly relaxing and pleasant 2-night stay at Accord. We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff, and the check-in process was hassle-free. The staff throughout our stay were very courteous. Areas for Improvement:
1. Swimming Pool: Although I don’t swim, I did notice that the pool didn’t appear very clean, which didn’t align with the otherwise good standards maintained across the property.
2. Room Key Issues: We faced issues with the room key automatically deactivating, requiring us to return to the reception to reactivate it. This was quite inconvenient.
3. Dining Area: While the food was excellent, the table setup in the dining area could use more attention. On multiple occasions, tables were allotted without napkins or tissue paper. We experienced this ourselves and also heard similar feedback from another family. It’s a small detail, but improving it would make the dining experience even better.
Absolutely love the place. It’s always my stay when I’m on vacation at Pondicherry. Sometimes it gets a little overcrowded at the morning buffet and they ask you to shift to another banquet hall but the food is top class. The gym has minimal but good equipment for hypertrophy training. Lack of higher weight dumbbells is an issue.
I went there to charge my EV. There was a 60Kw fast charger which charged the vehicle quite quickly. We didn't go there to stay so I can't say anything about the rooms (they might be good as it's a very premium hotel) but the hospitality of the staff was excellent and everyone was kind and always welcomed us.

Good value and rooms were clean and spacious. Location okay but closer options to beach side where it is quieter and easy to walk around. We enjoyed the pool but the area surrounding it could do with a spruce. The cleaning staff and porters were very friendly. The reception, breakfast and pool side less so. Breakfast had good South Indian options. Continental more limited and toaster broken.

- Hotel looks Grand from outside but interiors are old and outdated. Dont know how it gets 4 star rating. Should be 2 star.
- Check in formalities takes long as many people que up for completing their check-in. Every family stands at the Reception which looks like a vegetable market. Dont know why they dont have a proper check-in facility.
- The room alloted was smelling and had to change to another room. Toilets are old and nothing great. The bathroom flush has knob, good luck if it flushes in one go.
- Gym is available though due to poor AC one cannot breathe whilst exercising.

The hotel is good. I was looking for a family room, their triple occupancy room was really big and spacious. Everything of the room was good, only thing missing was exhaust in the bathroom. It was quite claustrophobic. Service is slow, specially room service. Restaurant is good. Location is good, not like close to beach but close enough. I will recommend as a family stay.
Location is nice. Service is good. But rooms are not like before. Views are pathetic, the room glasses are frosted, so we are unable to view outside from the room. Food charges are also costly. For example, the water bottle MRP is 60 in the rate card. But they charged Rs.90 just for water bottle alone. So think about the cost for other food items. Rooms became very old.
I planned to stay other nearby hotel from next time onwards.
There is duplex room where 4 can sleep easily. Good washroom and they have a rooftop pool. If you need to use Jacuzzi it payable. Breakfast spread is amazing with good taste. Location is 1.1 km from rock beach and you can easily get auto from here. The count suite is spacious bit the view is of the city which is not so great. Overall decent experience.
The rooms, service and the experience was good. But the complimentary breakfast could have been better. It wasn’t bad but similar 4 star hotels do much better at providing variety of breakfast with authentic taste. We stayed for 2 days and paid 4K per night. Since we booked early (booked by calling the hotel itself and paying advance), and even though the prices were less on the day of booking, we weren’t offered the current day’s rates which i found was not proper. Other than that everything else is fine.

This hotel is located very near to the beach, breakfast is served in the 7th floor with sea view. The hotel ambience is very good. The service is world class. The hotel is buzzing with people. Rock beach is just 2 kms away and walkable from the hotel. The food is of good quality but the prices are a bit heavy.

This is a french heritage house, located right in the heart of white town, 2 minutes from Promenade beach. Rooms here give that old world vibe. Have booked luxury suite which has an attic type structure with stair access within the room, perfect for family with kids.
However the breakfast spread is minuscule, not worth booking with breakfast. There are ample of breakfasts options available nearby.
During my recent family holiday, I stayed at this hotel and came away with mixed impressions.
On the positive side, the location is excellent, and the staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food and cocktails were superb—fresh, flavorful, and although slightly expensive, absolutely worth the splurge. Dining here was undoubtedly the highlight of our stay.
However, the accommodation was deeply disappointing. The room felt dated and poorly maintained: wooden floor planks were coming loose, damp patches were visible on the walls, and the washroom was in very poor condition. The light fixtures were dusty, and most concerning of all, the room had roaches—a serious issue that reflects poorly on both housekeeping and pest control. For the premium rates charged, this level of upkeep is simply unacceptable.
In short, while the outstanding food, drinks, and staff make this property appealing, the substandard rooms overshadow the overall experience. Unless the management addresses these concerns with urgent renovations and stronger maintenance standards, the hotel risks losing the charm its location and dining currently provide.
The Bay of Bengal sea food platter was awesome! Had it 4 years ago, came back for the same and wasn’t disappointed at all. Special shout out to our host Sharmi who did a fantastic job at serving us. A must experience for sea food lovers

Nature Loft Beach Resort with Swimming Pool is a seafront hotel located on the shores of Serenity Beach in Pondicherry. The resort offers simple rooms and bi-level cottages, along with a restaurant serving complimentary breakfast. While the exterior may not be impressive, the rooms and washrooms are well-maintained. The property features a swimming pool and is situated just 100m from the beach.
First of all this is named as resort but it is just.a.high end lodge. They can make it a better place by doing good maintenance, . We checked in on Saturday morning were first given a dingy room , room no 10. The toilet was broken , health wash was bad. When we complained we were given another room. It was much better. But badly furnished, the TV was not working we complained one bro came and tried something nothing worked.the fans were dusty, it sprayed the dust on it all over place. We called the staff they came a cleaned AC. Did not find the doors safe. Had to push hard to closed the door. They only had a small padlock, the ones used for locking luggage. There is no kitchen. List goes on. And for the plus points it near to the serenity beach . AC was good.
Not worth the money, if you can get it for around rs.2000. It's ok for a night.

We had an amazing retreat at Kadal The beach house. The staff took great care of us. They were super helpful and friendly. It was located superbly close to everything and the pool was gorgeous. For a large group having spacious rooms and en-suite bathroom for each room was a luxury. They had laundry service and a dishwasher and a beautiful kitchen equipped with all amenities. Very kid friendly and had a spread of fresh and yummy south Indian food every morning. Highly recommend this place especially for a large family gathering or office retreat but also ideal for solo travellers or couples since the rooms are thoughtfully designed. Kadal the beach house is Nearer to Serenity beach . A bit far from white town. Compact and calm place . The staffs are polite and friendly. Rooms are clean but not at its best. They have arranged Car parking exactly opposite to their building(Empty Plot).

Recently stayed at Kadal The Beach House. We had booked the entire property for our 2 night stay. This is located pretty close to the Serenity beach and has easy access from the main road. The property is very nicely made, with careful selection of furniture and decor. It has a nice swimming pool to relax. The kids had a great time in the pool and was definitely the saving grace, given the weather in Pondicherry now. The rooms are very well appointed with large spaces and beds good enough to accommodate 3 adults. Couple of rooms had an open bathroom, which gave a real feeling of being at a villa in Bali. The caretaker Krishna was always available and ensured our stay was peaceful. The villa has large sit out spaces tastefully furnished with beautiful furniture and decor. We had a great stay. Breakfast served was nice with good options, but would have preferred hot and freshly made at the villa. Overall an A+ villa that becomes A++ if you book the entire space.

Perfect place to have a private party. The pool is beautiful and has a deep end too. Three big rooms perfect for a group of about 10 but you can rent individual rooms too. Breakfast spread is really good. Fridge is loaded with goodies and there is a fully equipped kitchen with masalas and oil. Cutlery is of premium quality. If informed in advance they'll arrange for a BBQ too. Parking is on the road and pretty narrow. Noise proofing is bad. Beware of the mosquitoes.
Approach road is narrow and dusty and no parking. But it's a beautiful house with all amenities good breakfast and clean swimming pool. Good if 3 families go and take entire villa to themselves as you get complete privacy. Staff is very courteous and ambience is good. Only problem is the mosquitoes at night for which the staff are doing a lot but still it persists. They have beautiful open sit outs but it's a pity it can't be used as mosquitoes take over in the evenings. Still I would recommend for families who need to spend quality time in a good ambience.

Today visited this beach in the afternoon. We walked from Mothers ashram till Bakers street shop. Dark blue color waters welcomed me. With monsoon to set soon the beach looked calm and composed. Boats were doing trials on this beach. With rocks on both sides, enough space to walk, get down and touch the sea waters this beach is mesmerising. Afternoon with not much harsh sweaty sun, the whole beach looked glittering amidst blue sky and dark clouds. This is my first afternoon time visit to the beach. The promenade is indeed beautiful with coconut trees swaying in breeze. Lighthouse, crafty bazaar, Pondicherry museum, art museum and park are places around to visit. There is a lactation room spot in this beach.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I visited the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not your typical tourist spot it’s quiet, no photography allowed, and very respectful. I learned a lot about Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The bookshop nearby has some great spiritual and philosophical reads. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re curious about Indian spirituality or just want a break from the beach crowd.

From the moment I reached at the premises, I felt a gentle calm settling over me. Even the smallest sounds seemed softer, like the place itself was asking for attention and respect. As I walked toward the Mother’s Samadhi, I found myself naturally slowing down, noticing the care in every corner and the quiet dignity of the surroundings. It didn’t feel like a place to just see; it felt like a place to experience
The staff greeted visitors with quiet courtesy, gently guiding us about shoes, mobile phones, and maintaining silence. It felt respectful rather than formal, like they were helping everyone feel part of the same shared reverence.
Sitting by the Samadhi, I felt a profound stillness and inner quiet that is hard to describe. There was a deep sense of gratitude, reflection, and peace, as if the presence of the Mother and Shri Aurobindo was in the air around me. Every detail around me, the flowers, the pathways, the simple yet immaculate surroundings, spoke of devotion and love.
Leaving the ashram, I felt a subtle shift within me, a quiet reminder to live with mindfulness, humility, and calm. Visiting the Mother’s Samadhi is not just a visit; it is a transformative experience. Anyone seeking peace, reflection, or a connection to something timeless must make this visit.
Good to visit to see the Samadhi and come out in a few minutes. As seen in other reviews, the staff is very rude. There is a bookstore towards the exit. I switched on my phone to pay for the books, and picked a call which was urgent of my family, the staff gave me a lecture that had the management seen they would have taken my phone for 2 hours.
What kind of kiddish behaviour is this? How do we pay for the books if not cash.
You have to leave your shoes across the street before entering and walk barefoot inside. The ashram is filled with beautiful flowers and a sense of calm. It’s a strictly quiet space — no talking, and phones must be turned off (there are volunteers who ensure this). There is no entry fee.
The path inside is short — it takes about five minutes to walk around — but there’s a small meditation area where you can sit peacefully if you wish.
The highlight for us was the library. It has a wonderful collection of books (available in many languages), including thin volumes written by The Mother from her 21-part series on yoga and life (inexpensive- INR 30 a book). They also sell lovely postcards and books made by people at the ashram — perfect as souvenirs.
Overall, a serene experience — simple, quiet, and meaningful, especially if you appreciate spirituality or literature.
We went to meditate in the ashram in the morning 🌅 on Sunday. Lots of people come and go. Nowadays the weather is a bit hot and there are lots of trees surrounded by nice air.
The sea is also near if anybody wants them to go immediately. If anybody wants to eat breakfast 🥞 lunch or dinner they have to make tickets. mobiles are kept silent 🔕 and sleeper are kept in front of the ashram.
Mother is resting in a beautiful garden maintained so well u the ashram. Today with rain and cloudy atmosphere the environment was mesmerising. We were able to sit for an hour or so. Very very calming effect on our psych. Didn’t feel like leaving the place . Everyone radiated peace over here

Rock Beach is a very nice place to visit in Pondicherry. The view of the sea is beautiful, and the sound of the waves is very calming. It’s a great spot for morning or evening walks. The area is clean and has many small food stalls and cafes nearby. You can’t swim here because of the rocks, but you can sit, relax, and enjoy the sea breeze. It gets a bit crowded, especially on weekends, but still feels peaceful. A lovely place to spend some quiet time. I gave 4 stars because of the crowd.
Nothing negative about this place except the accessibility. Many a times Cars are not allowed to nearby area so may be an issue for elderly people.

Complete 1.5km long rock beach covers the esplanade area except a stretch of about 100 meters of proper sand beach with great views on both sides. Good place to sit and relax, minus the shacks and drinks. And please don't smoke here, it's prohibited to smoke in public areas in whole of pondicherry. At dawn or dusk the beach provides good views and winds.

Visited here with family while the Farm Fest 2025 and some botanical expo was happening.
It was great experience during these weeks because a lot of visitors, school tour, exhibitions, pop-up shop sales happening. I'm not sure if this same environment exist on usual days. Good place if you are looking to just spend some time walking around, enjoying park and taking photos. But unless you are visiting during similar special days, there won't be much happening. Easy to reach from Railway station, Beach, Bus Stand etc.
Specific cons : Even though we visited on an active day like the public restrooms were not functional even though it is new. Some where closed down. Some had no water. There is a lack of Park Layout Signs and Maps making navigation hard. Would have loved to see "You Are Here" layout maps here and there to make overall navigation.

While exploring the aquarium section, I noticed that the scientific names of the fish species were incorrectly labeled as botanical names.
(Scientific name is the umbrella term; zoological and botanical names are its branches for animals and plants respectively.)
This misrepresentation not only causes confusion for visitors but also undermines the educational value of this place.
I respectfully urge the concerned authorities to review and correct it.

The garden is spread out and has clearly marked pathways, making it easy to walk around without feeling crowded. The small aquarium inside is quite simple but a nice add-on, especially if you are visiting with kids. The toy train and musical fountain were not fully functional when I visited, but they are attractions that would definitely make the garden even more lively.
What makes this place special is that it is not just for tourists but also a spot where locals come for morning walks, photography, or simply to enjoy some quiet time. Entry fees are very nominal, and the garden is spacious enough to spend a couple of hours without feeling rushed.
The Botanical Garden in Puducherry is such a nice spot to hang out! 🌿 It has been recently renovated, though some works are still in progress. The ticket counter closes by 5:30 PM, but you can still hangout inside till around 6:45 PM. The restaurant offers some commendable dishes — the pork and crème caramel, in particular, were quite good and enjoyable. However, the dining experience was significantly let down by the poor service. The staff seemed inattentive and unresponsive while taking orders, and basic requests were either ignored or met with resistance. Moreover, there was a noticeable lack of warmth or courtesy — no smiles, and at times, even arguments with customers.
Great food can only go so far without good hospitality. I hope the management takes steps to improve the service, as it currently overshadows the quality of the food. This is not the first time to me here , which repeats so here i am with this review.

However, I must give special mention to the restaurant staff—they are simply outstanding. The staff truly understand the essence of hospitality and go above and beyond to make guests feel valued and cared for.
Even though I may not be inclined to revisit Puducherry in the near future, I would return just to stay at this hotel again. The service and comfort provided here are genuinely unforgettable.

Five star is influenced by their sevice, from valet, reception, house keeping, room service to restaurant everyone is keen on helping you. They are always ready to go extra mile. This is a very good hotel in a good location, close to most of the places of interest in pondi. They have ample parking plus they have valet to help. They have a good gym, pool and a spa. Their breakfast spread is pretty nice (it's a south Indian spread). I feel it's nice since people visiting the place get to taste local food instead of regular continental in other hotels.

I recently stayed at this hotel for two days, and while the overall experience was decent, I was disappointed by an issue during checkout that left a sour taste.
I was asked to pay for cashew nuts from the minibar, which I never consumed. I clearly informed the staff that I hadn’t touched them, but they insisted the item was missing. I stood my ground, as I knew I hadn't used anything from the minibar, and eventually did not pay the charge.
It was an unnecessary and uncomfortable situation, and I expected better handling from the hotel. A word of advice to future guests: make sure to check the minibar immediately upon arrival and notify the staff of any discrepancies.

Poorly Maintained & Unhygienic Beach
This beach was very disappointing during our visit. It was full of waste and felt extremely dirty. Maybe it was because of Ganesh Chaturthi, but apart from that, there were also dead fish, prawn shells, plastics, and other garbage scattered around. The stinky smell from dead fish and the many fishing boats parked nearby made the experience unpleasant.
Parking is available, but overall the beach is poorly maintained and unhygienic. Not recommended unless it is cleaned up properly.

I am really disappointed with the service of the beautician as well as this beauty parlour.
They should have simply told us that there wasn’t enough time. I had to repeat several times that they should only do a small touch-up on my eyebrows. In the end, they messed them up, and the beautician tried to justify herself by saying she didn’t touch them. I am truly disgusted.
They have no professionalism. They are there chatting with each other, and asking, “Don’t you have time?”
In the end, I had to ask her, “Are you sure you have time, or should I come back later?” Honestly, it’s not worth it.
Moreover, I didn’t want to say anything else. Is it normal that there isn’t even a chair for the clients?
I won’t be coming back there. Even if all the beauty salons were closed, I wouldn’t go back.

Stayed here for solo trip, the staff is friendly and the stay was good. Place is very far from city centre but they do provide 2 wheeler on rent or you can ask them to book an auto. The pool is amazing. Please carry mosquito repellent with you as the place has lots of mosquito.

Worst Hotel Experience – Misleading Photos and No Refund Policy
I had the worst experience at this hotel. The rooms look nothing like the pictures online—they were completely different and very disappointing. I checked out within 5 minutes of checking in and requested a refund. The hotel staff told me to request it online. But when Agoda followed up with them, they refused the refund, saying they don’t provide refunds after check-in.
This hotel is not suitable for families. The management is uncooperative, and the overall environment is not welcoming. I strongly advise against booking this place.

Oh my god, it was a horrible experience. Please be careful, don’t ruin your life.
They have a hidden camera inside a flower vase that records both audio and video. If you ask for any extra service, they will blackmail you, threaten to call the police, or demand money by accusing you of misbehaving with the girl.
A big drama happened to our team yesterday. I lost ₹13,000 and somehow managed to get out.
The profile is fake, and once you visit, they force you to give positive ratings on the spot.
When you call their number, you’ll get a call back from another parlour called “Dream Spa”, and they’ll say it’s the same place. But the actual scam happens at DS Dream Spa.
They are 100% fake and dangerous. Even if you don’t do anything wrong, they will put false allegations on you like “you touched her” or “tried to molest her,” and then they’ll create a full scene. The owner and other men will arrive, threaten you, and say that the whole video is recorded. They will demand ₹20,000 to delete it or else they’ll say they’re calling the police.
I went there after seeing positive Google reviews, but ended up in a nightmare and lost ₹13,000.
Please stay away from Dreams Spa and Tejas – this is a fake business and a dangerous scam.

They ask you to provide google reviews mandatorily. They mentioned they dont take women customers mostly (not sure why) and my wife was able to get one only because we went as a couple

Hi, I am from Hyderabad, Telangana State, We three families stayed for two days from 18 to 20 May, 2025. We have booked total 4-rooms package (ie., two rooms having swimming pool and two honey moon rooms), and the check in time was 2.00 pm. Due to traffic we could reach the hotel bit late by 4.30 pm, and could not lift their call and by that time swimming pool rooms were given to somebody else and we were forced to take rooms of another property demarcated by a road in between and next day we were given the swimming pool rooms which are actually agreed. However it is pertinent to mention that the hotel staff are good, complementary break fast is available which is good. Further the dinner food we were served was not good at all, quantity is too less, they do not know how to cook sea food. Location wise, beach lovers will enjoy the stay here, as it is very nearer to Beach. For the persons who love the sea food, order it from the outside and stay in this property. To help the travellers, I am giving a clear picture of the hotel. While booking speak to the management categorically the room floor, and property as all the three properties are separately located, but named as Mermaid Island beach Resort ie., Location No.1) Two Swimming pool rooms, Location No. 2) Two Honey moon rooms every floor and Location No.3) Two Beach View Rooms Ground floor and other two rooms in the same location which are not beach view at 1st floor. I would like to give 5-star rating location- wise and staff service, and 1-star for the food and commitment.

The listing for this property is misleading. One of the rooms is advertised as a 2-bedroom villa with a sea view and swimming pool. Neither the bedrooms nor the pool offer a proper sea view — you can only catch a glimpse of the sea by peeking from a corner of one of the dark and dingy room. Some of the other villas have a slightly better view, specially the top floor that overlooks the sea but overall, the service and the surrounding environment fall short, making the experience not worth the price. The access to beach is subject to your own joy of watching locals taking a dump in the morning or sitting and drinking in the night. All this definitely makes it unfriendly for couples.
We booked a suite for 2 days. Stay was good and room size was also great.
Amenities offered- good TV, fridge and supply of warm water 24/7.
Service- only 1 towel was provided for 2 people that too after asking for it.
Pool was dirty, didn’t use it.
Don’t opt for the property if you want sea access or view. No view from the room we got and also access to sea is not that you want. People were defecating at the sea and it was more like a fishing harbor.
Fully satisfied with the room, facility, location as per the budget price in Pondicherry. Spacious room with sofa, double bed, extra bed, fridge etc. TV with YouTube was very useful for kids. Separate dining room was plus. Swimming had lot of leaves but they kept the filter running whole night so that we can use in the morning. Water was ok with just leaves because of tree over the pool which is expected. I booked individual family room with private pool. This place is aggregation of multiple buildings hence multiple type of rooms are available. Breakfast was descent with nice potato curry. Surprisingly tea coffee was not included in complimentary breakfast. AC/Geyser worked as expected. There is also a beach next to the hotel like 100 meter but we didn’t get time to check it out as we already enjoyed paradise and rock beach a day before. Overall good if you just want room for sleeping and early morning. Anyway you will be out the whole day for site seeing. We were 2 adult and 2 kids.
Had a really disappointing experience at Mermaid Island Beach Resort. The place was not at all as expected – many things were not in place and poorly maintained. Rooms were not clean, basic amenities were missing, and the overall upkeep was very bad. The service was horrible, with staff being unresponsive and not helpful at all. For the price charged, the experience was far below standard. Definitely not worth visiting or recommending.
Amazing stay experience! The staff, the villa rooms, the food and any other assistance required has been greatly served. Definitely staying here when I am next in Pondi. Located a little away from the city centre but located amidst local residents which gives you a glimpse of local culture around. Kudos to the staff who attend every request quickly!

The complementary breakfast was also good they made and served fresh. But the best were the hosts. All of them were super super helpful with anything we needed. Very courteous and mindful to make sure you are comfortable. They know how to host for sure!

Great View & Helpful Staff, But Cleanliness Needs Work
I stayed here for one night, and while the view was absolutely stunning and the staff was helpful, the cleanliness was disappointing. The sheets were stained, the walls were covered in dust, and there were spider webs in multiple spots. It was clear that housekeeping needs to step up their game.
The price was reasonable only because of the view, but cleanliness is just as important. If they can improve on that—especially tackling the spider webs—this place could be a great stay.

Such a beautiful place to stay in Pondicherry. The beach facing rooms was such a bliss. We stayed here for a week and it was the best time for us. I should also mention a few things
1. The lady at the front desk so graceful and welcoming. She took care from beginning to end.
2. The cook lady so caring and sweet. I waited for breakfast everyday because it was so delicious and good.
3. Mr. Ram was also very welcoming.
4. The room service staff too very kind and courteous.
5. The parking facility although few meters away was safe.

Located right in the heart of White Town, it’s within walking distance of all the popular cafes and just 500 meters from the promenade. Truly enjoyed our stay here!
This has good rooms in an authentic old style. The bathroom fittings seemed pretty new. We had a 20% of on F&B. The food was great. Breakfast was included but not buffet; you can order of a fixed menu.
Ate at the restaurant. Ordered a pizza and a plate. Order took almost an hour; and food was totally bland, in contrast to the dance of spices you expect from an Indian dish. Everything you pay is not for the food, just for the bragging rights of having "European cuisine", and the ambience (I have seen way better in way lesser)

Stayed here for 4 days along with my daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean, well maintained and comfortable. We enjoyed the swimming pool also. The food is phenomenal. And so is the breakfast. Will highly recommend this place.

During my recent visit to Serenity Sunrise Beach Resort, I was delighted by the tranquil atmosphere and convenient location just a short five-minute stroll from Serenity Beach. This peaceful retreat offers ample parking space and a charming rooftop dining area where guests can enjoy meals while soaking in picturesque views. I had initially booked a standard room but was pleasantly surprised when the staff upgraded me to a deluxe AC suite due to low occupancy during my weekday stay.
It was a comfortable stay in pondicherry. The resort is just 150 meters from the serenity beach. Also it's easy to reach the City centre if you are traveling by public transport. Every facility mentioned was provided and staff behaviour was also very polite. The room was neat and tidy and hot water was available. CCTV surveillance is also available. It's a beautiful place and rooms are spacious and comfortable. Overall, it's a fantastic choice for a relaxing getaway. 😍🌅🌴

We had quite a pleasant stay at this hotel. First, the location is quite near to serenity beach ( 5 minute walk). It's a calm and quiet place. There is ample parking space at the side of the hotel. They have a menu to order food from outside. They also have a picturesque rooftop dining area where we can dine. The room we booked was a deluxe ac suite. We had actually booked a normal room. Since we went on a weekday and the hotel was free of any resisdents, they courteously offered us the deluxe room. The room was neat and cozy with all basic facilites. Fresh linen was provided. Comfortable stay at an affordable price.
Cons:
- The hotel address mentioned in Agoda is wrong. The hotel is located in TN and not in Pondicherry.
- The hotel staff refused to provide original proper invoice for the payment.
- 2nd floor room, no LIFT.
- Floor mat outside toilet was very dirty and it didn't absorb water.
- No drinking water bottles provided, only a normal plastic jug with water was kept in room.
NO VALUE FOR MONEY.

Serenity Sunrise beach resort is located near Serenity beach. Our Room are good but in another room was having lot of mosquitoes. This hotel is just having staying facilities. There are no basic services like morning tea. They do not have own kitchen and everything has to be ordered.

We landed up in this place for dinner, as there was a long queue at Surguru Spot, just across the road and we wanted to have a relaxed dinner.
We didn't realize that this place would be so awesome with a retro feel and peaceful ambience.
The food quality was truly home-like, something that we were missing in other restaurants. Not very spicy, simple and great taste.
The service, though a bit slow, was wonderful, as we were in no hurry 😊.
The restaurant is well maintained even though it is housed in very old premises.

Great heritage property, located very near to city market and very close to white city with beach access at walkable distance. Staff is very co-opera rive and helpful. Neat, clean , spacious rooms. Good and basic breakfast options with very good room service. Most restaurants for day affair at walkable distance and all evening dinner options are almost within 2 - 3 kms.

I have been this Hotel with my toddler. Nice hotel with Colonial ambience and they maintained the building well. Spacious Room, good Ambience, very near to beach, Market etc.
Complimentary breakfast was Average and very limited separations in it. Car parking is the issue.

Stayed here with my friends for one weekend and the whole place was completely French. The rooms were well maintained. The breakfast buffet was English and was decent enough. The best part about this place is the little fairy lights decorated tree that just lit up your mind and make the whole place beautiful in the evening.

I was astonished by the professional service by Mr.Murugan(Manager). I followed up only once and he refunded the full advance amount back to me and shown a great example of professionalism and hospitality. Thank you Mr.Murugan for this great customer centric service. I will definitely come back to your resort when possible.

I've stayed there when they had hut roofs and now they've renovated and it looks so cool. We get a perfect beach view and we are at the beach literally. Rooms are excellent.
While checking out we were settling the bills for water bottles and soft drinks, the guy at the desk told we had to pay 500, I transferred the money and went to get the car. My friends checked the bill again and found out the bill was only Rs.390. He had tried to cheat us since we were in a hurry. Please beware !! Reducing 1 star for this cheap behaviour of the reception guy.

"I was shocked by the inflexible and rude management at this hotel. Despite arriving at 11:45 AM, we were forced to wait until 12:00 PM to check in, as the manager insisted that check-in time is strictly between 12 to 12. What's more surprising is that the room was vacant, and we could have easily checked in earlier.
To add to the frustration, we noticed other guests checking in at 11:00 AM, which contradicts the manager's claim. When we politely questioned this inconsistency, the manager responded rudely, telling us to leave.
The hotel's rigid policies and poor customer service are major turn-offs. With better management and more flexibility, this hotel could have provided a more welcoming experience."

The only problem is that there is no proper mobile signal available in the location. And the Wi-Fi that they provide was not reachable inside the rooms. They do provide extenders. Don’t forget to get extender before going to rooms.

A charming beachside retreat. 1RK is perfect for a couple or a small group of friends. Cozy, stylish, and spotless with all amenities. I really liked the rooms — the villa and terrace were beautiful.
However, there was a very strong smell ( VERY STRONG) of fish, which made it hard for me to enjoy my stay. If you’re sensitive to such smells, I wouldn’t recommend going. The beach also wasn’t very hygienic, with many fishermen around, which added to the discomfort.
This place is totally recommended for those who wants to spend time with beach view and also feel secluded with family and also partner. It has an amazing beach view room with shack space to spend quality time. Cleanliness was top notch everything about this place is a memory to me. I spent time with my family, kids had a open space to play and sleep peacefully unlike any other beaches. Overall I would like to visit again to this place for longer period of time. Thanks
The rooms are very clean and tidy except that there is no swimming pool and it's very near to the beach maybe about 50 MTRS..all rooms ( except 1 which has only a single queen size bed and less spacious compared to other 3 rooms) has 1 queen size bed along with a separate single bed. Kitchen is very clean with a fridge.
A beautiful apartment to travel for a workation or with kids and pets or your partner. The lamps and lighting in the house is absolutely beguiling at night and I can't even begin to tell how beautifully the place is done up. The best feature is the sunrise point right outside the house and a clean beach area towards the left. The portion of the beach is a bit crowded and unclean as it is a fishing village and so, it is understandable. The housekeeping maids and such wonderful, calm and helpful women, they do their job end to end from washing utensils to cleaning up the bed, bathroom, the kitchen with dexterity and a smile on their faces. A very very comfortable house. Not a lot of good eateries around but you can always visit the Auroville area and White Town for that kind of an experience. I absolutely cherished playing with the kid and the dog on the beach every morning and evening.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The villa was very spacious. The beach view from the terrace is mind boggling. We can have our own private time at the beach as it is hardly 50 meters from the villa. The kitchen cutlery were well arranged. the staff were very helpful and available at any moment. They allowed us to extend our check out for another 30 minutes. However there were giant lizzards and a lot of crows in the backyard.
We had a fantastic stay at the Casa Studio, the cute little 2 persons studio neighboring the main villa. Communication with Vicky and David was very easy. The place looks exactly like on the pictures, it’s decorated with a lot of taste and it has everything you need. The location is right by the beach at a fishermen spot. I would definitely recommend and go back!

It's been an incredible stay here in palm paradise. The hospitality is amazing and the Staff is friendly. Cleanliness is a vital part of the stay here. The rooms are well maintained. The food is great and has numerous options in the menu, location too is very good just on the beachfront. The pool is spotless and just ready to take a fresh dip. Would recommend it totally!!

Properly is in a good location facing the beach. Ample parking space. Restaurant food is nice. Chef is very friendly and service is great. Rooms are spacious and clean rooms good for a family of 3, 2 Adults and a Kid. They do provide extra bed to accommodate another person for a nominal cost. Manager Jai was very kind and humble. Pool was well maintained.
Pros are: Location is the best as it is right on the beach. You can just walk in 2 mins. Food is good.
Cons are: it's way too costly (esp in the long weekends) where as there is nothing much for the cost. Rooms are pretty much normal hotel rooms only. they just have swimming pool and some open space. But no other amenities, like gym, play areas, snookers or things to do which you usually do in a resort. And most important hurdle is the last stretch of road into this place which way too small. Only one car can go at a time, if you get into traffic then that's it.
We had a very good stay in this resort, Very good access to the beach, well maintained, Clean and neat, Good food served. very good service offered. However we were two families could have suggested the Villa, which could have been ideal with kids. Instead of giving 2 studio rooms where we had to juggle b/w rooms taking extra bed. with the extra bed they should provide a blanket which was missing even after asking they denied to give. Otherwise its very good place.
I stayed in Room No. 105 and had a very disappointing experience.
There were constant power fluctuations, which made the stay uncomfortable.
The food quality was very poor, and to add to that, the staff behavior was unacceptable. One of the restaurant staff, Pratap, was extremely rude and had no sense of how to speak to customers.
On arrival, there were no towels in the room.
I had requested an extra bed, but it was not arranged properly. I was only given a bedspread and a pillow without a blanket, and I had to place the bed myself.
Worst of all, I had to wait until the next morning to speak to someone at the reception to get these basic things sorted.
Overall, the service and hospitality were far below expectations. Definitely not the kind of experience one would expect from a resort.

1. Very dirty maintenance, we have received dirty pillow covers after complaining they just removed pillow covers and gave bare pillows
2. Very unpleasant smell was filled in the room, even after multiple requests no room fresheners was provided

4. They are making customers to give fake reviews by offering 10% discount on foods.
5. Money minded approach by management, asking additional money for everything like swimming pool, taking photos.

I stayed just over a month here in the king suite, it was so cool and a totally real and authentic heritage villa. The property is extremely beautiful and also peaceful even though it's centrally located. Walking distance from Rock beach, Aurobindo ashram, big temple, museums and galleries, restaurants, everything. It's basically on the best street in pondicherry. They have cute cats, tasty and healthy breakfast, lovely staff and management. The property is located right next to the Mankula Vinayagar temple. The location gives easy access to Rock beach, MG road and major food places in whitetown. Two wheeler rental place is just 600M from this hotel which is a plus. Their hospitality is too good. The staffs are very friendly and polite. Especially Vignesh and Prashanth at the front desk have treated us so well and took good care of us right from the time we checked in to check out. They guided us so well with the major attractions and that helped us plan our day.
Negatives: Since this is 250 yr old building, you can feel the weird smell of the old building which is manageable in a larger room. Smaller room could be stuffy due to this smell.
We stayed at Hotel Villa des Gouverneurs during our trip to Pondicherry. The rooms were just okay, nothing exceptional, but the overall experience was made much better thanks to the service.
A special mention to Vignesh, who went above and beyond to help us. We were in urgent need of a nebuliser for our baby, and he personally assisted us in getting one, which was a huge relief. Throughout our stay, he was always approachable and quick to help with anything we needed.
The service quality and complimentary breakfast were both very good, which made up for the average rooms. Overall, if you’re looking for great hospitality and attentive staff, this place is a good choice.
Below average rooms, utmost inferior condition. Lizards, Insects and Flies are everywhere.

We had an amazing 3-day stay at this villa in Pondicherry for 8 friends. The place was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The owner, Ashok, is incredibly humble and helpful—he even assisted us in booking a cab to the railway station during checkout. Highly recommend this villa for a peaceful and hassle-free stay!

I stayed at this villa for two days and had two 2BHKs on the same floor. The stay was fantastic and extremely comfortable. The location is conveniently close to many popular tourist attractions, and the pricing was very affordable. Overall, it was the best stay experience.
Very disappointed by my stay here. I met with several inconveniences in this home stay. Firstly, none of the plug points were working in my room… I had a really hard time charging my appliances. The air conditioner was not working properly. Moreover, at midnight, one of the guests walked into our room to check in unaware that the rooms were already occupied.

Very bad experience at this hotel. Rooms were not cleaned, towels and bedsheets were dirty, and there was a constant bad smell. The manager was extremely unprofessional and used offensive language. Definitely do not recommend this place.

Worst experience we were all girls and there were many men who were drunk and standing in que with us. Owner should have maintained different que for men and women. had ordered fried rice they put so much black pepper powder. Also it took around 20 mins for our order to be prepared. We recently stayed here in December ‘24. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The pool, the food, the rooms, it was all great! The breakfast spread is pretty good. And the location is perfect for someone who’s looking to explore White Town area on foot.

It's a nice play to stay. It's located in the heart of the city and so all the places are very near and accessible. The rooms,bathrooms are neat and tidy. Staffs are polite and helpful. It's a calm place to stay in. Complementary breakfast served was excellent but the dinner we had there was very poor. Expensive and not worthy. Rest all was fine. I would definetly recommend here for stay but not for food(except for the Complementary breakfast ofc ;-) )
