Beaches
An Bang Beach, located just 3 kilometers east of Hoi An, is a serene escape that beautifully combines natural beauty with local charm. This picturesque beach features soft white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing or enjoying the gentle waves. The area is lined with charming beach huts and offers a variety of eateries where you can savor fresh seafood and refreshing cocktails while soaking in stunning views of Da Nang Bay and the Marble Mountains.
It's a nice beach with fine sand. I went there during week days so it wasn't busy. The beach is clean and water temperature is perfect to cool down. There are a few vendors trying to sell you stuff but they are very polite and might have a quick chat with you.
Dimitri S — Google review
A great spot to unwind, An Bang Beach offers a clean stretch of sand, plenty of shade under beach huts, and rows of loungers perfect for relaxing. The beachfront is lined with a mix of thatched umbrellas and green canvas canopies, giving it a tropical feel. There’s a safety net installed along the swimming area which is a thoughtful touch, especially on busier days. The beach was clean and pleasant to walk along barefoot. At the top of the beach, you’ll find a long line of restaurants and bars. Most of the better spots (and better prices) are on the right-hand side if you’re facing the ocean – definitely worth walking all the way down to compare. It can get quite crowded during the hotter afternoons, but that only adds to the lively vibe. Whether you’re in the mood for a swim, a sunbathe, or a chilled coconut under a hut, this beach delivers a great afternoon escape.
John W — Google review
Very nice and cleaner than I thought from reading reviews. Very very long walkable beach with sand. Sand can get very hot so make sure to bring footwear. Otherwise the water is nice and clear and you do not need water shoes. Not much to snorkel here but if you have goggles there are some different fish to see as well as occasional jellyfish… The beach chairs and umbrellas are free if you order food and drinks from the restaurants which own those chairs…
David E — Google review
Clean, beautiful stretch of beach. Warm water, soft sand, and calm waves perfect for the whole family. Plenty of good restaurants lined along the beach, if you order food from them then you dont have to pay the lounger and umbrella. We are lucky that we are staying just a good 5 minutes walk away from the beach. During our stay, we get to do our early morning walk and swim in the morning.
Russ L — Google review
An Bang Beach in Hoi An is a beautiful and relaxing spot with soft sand and clear water. It’s a great place to swim, walk, or just unwind by the sea. There are plenty of beachside cafes and restaurants where you can grab a drink or meal while enjoying the view. It can get a bit crowded later in the day, but the atmosphere is laid-back and friendly. A perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon in Hoi An.
Lydia C — Google review
Wide, expansive golden sands meet calm waters (not the clearest, but overall fine)—perfect for relaxing strolls. Super pleasant vibe with tons of beachfront restaurants offering fresh eats right on the sand. Rented a surfboard easily and had a blast catching waves. Highly recommend!
Tzvi A — Google review
Some places are extremely crowded, while others are quite quiet. There are various water and beach activities that can be freely enjoyed. The sand is also clean and allows to walk barefoot. However, in some areas near abandoned places, there is low maintenance, resulting in trash, broken glass, and trees.
Kyaw M — Google review
perfect spot for both local and foreign tourists. The water is purely blue and the vibe is feasty on the beach. There are many food options with reasonable price. Totally safe and worth the money

Beach
Cua Dai Beach, located just 4 kilometers east of Hoi An Ancient Town, is a picturesque destination known for its long stretch of fine white sand and clear waters. This beach has been recognized as one of the most beautiful in Asia by TripAdvisor. Visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, or taking a leisurely bike ride along the romantic coastline. With rows of palm trees and thatched umbrellas providing shade, it's an ideal spot for relaxation.
Really peaceful, and quiet beach. There are few people and the beach is beautiful.. white sandy beaches much better than those at A Bang Beach. Lounges and umbrellas are available along the beaches at a fee. I paid about VND 50k to use a lounger which is highly recommended if you do not want to be roasted by the scorching sun. Toilets are available for shower. In my opinion, can just skip An Bang beach and come here instead if you want to avoid the crowds.
Keith S — Google review
Ride out past paddy fields and to the beach. Soak in the waves and relax and go get a coffee and some food. Nice way to spend a Sunday. Sad to see the flood barriers which can change the look of photos but obviously necessary after recent history.
Andrew D — Google review
Cua Dai Beach has the foundations of a tropical paradise—with soft sand, tall palm trees, and long stretches of thatched umbrellas offering shade and a peaceful ocean view. From a distance, it definitely has that classic postcard look and a relaxing vibe, especially if you’re just looking to lie on a sunbed and enjoy the breeze. However, a closer look reveals that the area has seen better days. Many of the beachfront restaurants and buildings seem quite tired and in need of maintenance, and the surrounding grounds—especially the patches of overgrown weeds and grass—reflect years of neglect, likely since the pandemic. It’s a shame, because the location has a lot of potential to be a premier coastal destination. Still worth a visit if you’re nearby and looking for some quiet beach time, but it feels like a place that’s been somewhat forgotten and is waiting for a proper revival.
John W — Google review
Fine beach but as everything a bit dirty and unnecessary ugly constructions (pipe) across the beach. Don’t pay for parking, it’s a scam. We just parked our bike and refused to pay as it’s not official at all.
Jeroen K — Google review
Getting better and better every year — the beach is quiet, peaceful and relaxed. It is mostly local restaurants — and pretty much all seafood. They have put some new signs and displays up to make the beach look more beautiful. 🤩 Great work!
Gregory Z — Google review
Clean and nice beach with cafes to relax
Gunaserlan B — Google review
Peaceful and secluded beach, very much preferable to An Bang beach. There are no shacks there but a few shops that sell coconut water etc. Parking was 10000 vnd. If you want to have a quiet time by yourself this is the place to be. There’s no one to bother or disturb you and the water is crystal clear, the beach is clean too.
Sud K — Google review
We took a Grab Taxi from An Bang Beach, where we spent 4 hours. This beach was much less crowded on 10th Nov '24, with only a couple of tourists. The sea water appeared cleaner and greener here, but food options were limited. For those seeking a private experience, this is an excellent beach. However, if you prefer a crowd during the off-season, An Bang Beach is ideal. Remember to carry your own drinking water.

Historic Sites
Nestled in the heart of Hoi An's ancient Old Quarter, the Old House of Tan Ky is a beautifully preserved 18th-century merchant residence that offers visitors a glimpse into the past. This remarkable home showcases traditional architectural styles typical of Hoi An townhouses, featuring distinct sections for various functions. The front serves as a shop while the back connects to the river wharf, highlighting its historical role in trade.
Visited this historic house in Hoi An’s ancient town, filled with antiques and traditional furnishings. It’s incredible to see how well preserved it is, especially considering the regular flooding in the area. The markings on the wall showing previous flood levels were especially striking. Hard to believe the house has stood through it all.
David P — Google review
Old House of Tan Ky in Hoi An was very crowded like the rest of the town. There was nothing much to see inside. If you have extra time, then you can visit. It’s a small traditional house, but not a must-visit.
Sai V — Google review
If you're in Hoi An, you have to check out the Tan Ky House! It’s right on the Thu Bon River and is an awesome example of a classic Hoi An merchant's home. Even though it's been around for a while, the house still has this really unique vibe and some super cool stories. You'll get to see how the old merchants did business on the river, check out their unique pulley system, and just admire all the cool architecture. It’s a perfect place to really feel the history and see the true beauty of Hoi An.
Do C — Google review
Requires ticket to enter. We didn’t have any so donated some money at the entrance. This house is one of the oldest near the river and stood strong during many floods and the family still lives on upper floor and they only come here at 7pm. The place closes at 5pm anyway. The whole house is made of wood and there are many “mother of pearl” furnitures which are absolutely stunning! Must visit place if you are curious.
Rachitha K — Google review
Beautiful house with plenty of history behind, they slimed everything here is conserved from ancient times but I kind of and again kind of doubt I’m gonna have to trust, which is true this is a very beautiful and pleasant and most likely one of the most interesting places to visiting within ancient time Although not the best that comes with own preference, I do enjoy temples better and unfortunately capacity here should be controlled, they won’t do it, money is more important Shame
Marcos D — Google review
Great to see this old building, still lived in by the latest generation family. Free tour inside to tell you all about it but they will try and sell you souvenirs at the end. Tickets must be purchased elsewhere in the local ticket office.
Paul G — Google review
When you visit, wait for the tour guide in English, it will help you understand the house and its architecture better. You can also see the levels of water during the floods. The place is small and constantly full of tourist groups, which makes it difficult to walk around.
Eduarda — Google review
Beautiful historical house. You can sense the grandeur when it was in it's heydays. With the current generation still residing here, it really is living history. Well worth a visit.

Hoi An Market is a vibrant and bustling marketplace offering a mix of indoor and outdoor vendors selling everything from produce to clothing and souvenirs. Located near the Ancient Town, it's a convenient spot to grab some local bites before exploring more of Hoi An. The market also offers a variety of traditional dishes such as Quang Noodles and local cakes like Gai Cake and Rose Cake.
Beautiful place to visit especially during the Moon festival! It's so colorful. You can just walk around, ride the boat and light a lantern, or simply hang out and have drink. I definitely recommend to visit this place!
Dimitri S — Google review
Peaceful experience in Hoi An market. Lot of place to eat , drink and shop. Especially the local ones Saw a lot of coffee and fruits juice places. Banana pancakes with Nutella were nice. Some places were closed due to the heavy rains the previous week and increase in water levels.
Simon M — Google review
Lots of souvenirs to buy but found it much cheaper in Danang. There were lots of cafe and their foods/drinks were great. The Old town area is vibrant at night. No wonder it’s called the City of Lanterns. If given a chance, would definitely be back.
Yaz — Google review
If you want to get a real street food experience in Hoi An, you have to go to the Central Market! They have a ton of traditional dishes there for a super affordable price. Even though the market can get pretty crowded with tourists, it still feels really traditional and is a great place to try local food.

Travel Cafe Eat Drink - Malaysia & Asia Having late lunch at my regular stall inside Hoi An wet market. Prices here are much cheaper than outside. Varieties here are good and very local taste.

Museum
Hoi An Museum, also known as the Museum of History and Culture, is a small yet fascinating attraction located on the grounds of the Quan Yin Pagoda. The museum showcases 212 original artifacts and valuable documents that reflect Hoi An's urban and commercial development over 2,000 years. Divided into four rooms, the museum displays items related to history, culture, revolutionary tradition, and paintings about Hoi An.
Located at 10B Trần Hưng Đạo, in the heart of Hoi An’s ancient town, this museum is housed in a former 17th-century pagoda and adjacent temple. Established in 1989, it covers approximately 800 m² and conserves a timeline of artifacts spanning over 2,000 years—Pre‑Sa Huỳnh, Champa, and Đại Việt periods. • Pre‑Sa Huỳnh & Sa Huỳnh Artifacts: Features tools, jewelry, glassware, and pottery dating back to pre‑history, indicating early agriculture and trade with South India and China . • Champa Era: Displays include fine ceramic fragments, statues, and architectural remnants reflecting regional maritime culture. • Đại Việt Period to Post-War Era: Offers ceramics, old maps, photographs, and documents charting Hoi An’s Golden Age and its role as a trading port, plus insights into community resilience post‑1975 using reconstructions of local crafts and images. Additional rooms present photos and weapons from revolutionary periods, followed by an art gallery showcasing contemporary interpretations of Hoi An. • Time to Spend: Plan for 1 to 2 hours to fully appreciate the displays. • Facilities: Climate-controlled areas, multilingual labels, souvenir shop, and guided tours are available for a richer visit. • Opening Hours & Admission: Typically open 07:30–17:00 daily (some say closed weekends) with tickets around VND 30,000–120,000 depending on where you purchase your ticket.
Andy N — Google review
The ticket booth for the museum is not located within the museum itself; you have to travel a bit to a ticket booth near the ancient town to purchase a ticket. This ticket grants admission to five different attractions. One of the staff members, who spoke English, guided us through parts of the museum and ensured we saw all the exhibits. Although it's a small museum, we think it could benefit from expanding its collection to include more artifacts and historical items.
Elizabeth G — Google review
It's a good museum and the most historical artifacts from this area in one place. For the price ($1 as part of the Old Town ticket) it's a great value. Give yourself 30-60 minutes for the visit.
Noah L — Google review
No crowd when we went here. Actually it was included in the Hoi an ancient town tickets and we were wondering that only a few are going here. Maybe because we went here before lunch time. Nevertheless, you will find a few interesting things here. It might sound redundant if you went to War museum in Ho Chi Minh already. I think they should put more visuals and interesting things about Hoi an here.
Duchess A — Google review
It is especially interesting to see the exhibition about the war on the 2nd floor. Other than that it is not worth a visit, as there is not much displayed. Also the condition of the building is very bad, so expect no fancy museum.
Stijn R — Google review
Very moving experience and well worth the visit. Very close to Hoi Ann historic district and is included in ticket so no excuse!
Francis M — Google review
Amazing museum that talks about the independence struggle of the Vietnamese people against the American and French oppression. So touching and informative. And a beautiful and simple building. Do not skip it! It does take an hour to explore only! Enjoy and thank you 🙏❤️

Thanh Ha Pottery Village in Hoi An is a historic craft village that has been around for over 400 years. The village features traditional pottery workshops and is known for its signature noodle dish. Visitors can explore the red-roof communal houses, yellow brick walls, dock, and banyan tree that represent a real Vietnamese traditional village.
This is such a cool cultural site to see. I took a pottery class for only a few USD (and now have a handmade souvenir to take home with me) and walked around and saw some really beautiful art. The terracotta pieces around the village and within the museum are huge but filled with intricate details that tell different stories about Vietnam. You pay a small fee to enter the village that helps support its residents and their work, and it also covers a small clay souvenir of your choice. Just a really neat place overall.
Maddie L — Google review
Super nice activity for kids and family, pick a little shop and make your own! Biking distance from Hoi An old quarter. Entrance fee 35k and remember to pick up your little gift with your ticket code bar at the designated gift shop on ticket. 50 to 100k per person to make yr own and have fun!
Peggy R — Google review
Visit only if you have plenty of time in hoi an. This place is far from main town area. Tickets cost 35k vnd pp where you can choose a souvenir pp from any of the 3 shops they mention. Ticket wasn’t actually necessary as you walk through the lanes and many local shops have same pottery classes and stuffs to sell. Pottery making experience is free with the ticket , but they insist you very much on buying and some places even charge you extra 50k for the pottery making experience. So ask before you start. At one place they said the experience is free and I tried my hands. But they helped me a lot to make the product look good so that I end up buying it. We couldn’t take it with us as we didn’t have space in luggage and it is delicate and have to wait until it dries up. So we had some drinks at the same place which was reasonably priced and very delicious. The place name is cafe GOM. Souvenir- its a cute animal where you can blow whistle! There is also a pottery museum and the tickets cost extra. We did not go here.

Tra Que Vegetable Village, located just 3km north of Hoi An, is a serene and verdant village known for cultivating a variety of vegetables and herbs using traditional methods that eschew harmful chemicals. The village offers a peaceful environment for visitors to explore on foot or by bicycle. Additionally, there is an excellent organic restaurant on-site, making it a worthwhile destination for those interested in sustainable agriculture and local cuisine.
What an incredible experience! It was fascinating to observe how locals in Vietnam cultivate and purchase their produce. I highly recommend visiting with a small group (on bikes) and a knowledgeable guide who can explain the diverse crops being grown. You’ll even have the opportunity to try traditional farming methods, like watering and turning over the soil yourself.
Cam P — Google review
Visiting the place contributes to the preservation of traditional occupancy village. We saw how to plough the land before adding compost, then planting the green vegetables. Also saw how watering of the vegetables is done. Saw a lot of green vegetables, papaya, winter melons. Really an eye opener
GAN Y — Google review
Tra Que Vegetable Village is just a pleasant walk from An Bang Beach and offers a peaceful escape surrounded by greenery. The rows of herbs and vegetables are beautifully maintained, and there are a few cozy cafes and restaurants around the edges using the fresh produce in their dishes, it’s a lovely setting for a slow wander. When we visited, none of the activities like farming tours or cooking classes were taking place, which was a bit of a letdown since they’re often featured in brochures and signs. It would’ve been helpful to know in advance, especially if you’re coming for the hands-on experience. That said, it’s still a nice spot to explore if you’re after a quieter moment just outside the main town.
John W — Google review
We had such a great time at Tra Que Vegetable Village! The vegetable tour was a wonderful hands-on experience for our kids — they loved learning how the farmers till the soil, plant crops, and water the fields. It really gave them an appreciation of the hard work that goes into food. After the tour, we joined a cooking class and enjoyed a delicious three-course meal for lunch. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience easy and fun. To top it off, we even received a relaxing foot and shoulder massage, which was such a thoughtful touch after the farm work! Highly recommend this experience for families or anyone looking to learn, taste, and relax all in one place.

We didn’t visit the garden itself per se, but we explored and rode around the village on our electric scooters—and it’s truly a lovely place to discover. The local community is very friendly, and the gardens are beautifully maintained. This is where the 100% organic, delicious vegetables that supply many of Hoi An’s best restaurants are grown. As French natives who love growing our own vegetables, we deeply appreciate fresh, local produce and are very thankful for the hard work and dedication of these talented gardeners. During our one-month stay, we thoroughly enjoyed their beautiful harvests. We were especially impressed by how precisely and skilfully everything is done—traditionally, as it should be. It really is an art, and it deserves recognition. Next time we visit, we’ll make sure to stop for a meal on the island and learn more about this incredible gardening community.

Located right between Hoi An’s Old Town and An Bang beach, Tra Que village is a really unique spot to visit. It’s famous for its amazing veggies and herbs, and it's been around for centuries. The farmers here use these super unique, totally chemical-free methods to grow their herbs. That’s why you’ll find the village's fresh products in some of Hoi An's best dishes, like Cao Lau.

I arrived at 8am and there were no other tourists, just workers. Get here earlier if you want to catch the golden morning light. I asked permission to take people’s photos and 85% were fine with it (1 or 2 even posed)! It’s pleasant to stroll around and see the different vegetables and tools that are used. Just avoid the ‘slow cafe’ if you want a drink afterwards, overpriced and not good. I wish I’d tried one of the other spots next to the gardens.

Nestled in a charming old house near the Japanese bridge, Reaching Out Teahouse offers a serene retreat from the heat with its cool breezes and delightful courtyard. The staff, who are speech and hearing impaired, provide an extensive menu of Vietnamese teas and coffees. Guests can enjoy an elegant traditional tea service by writing down their orders on provided pen and paper. The teahouse also offers a Vietnamese Tea Tasting Set featuring three varieties of tea and a plate of cookies.
A beautiful tranquil experience. We had the local drip coffee with ice and fresh milk. The coffee is perfectly strong and delicious. The cookies are crisp and sweet. We heard about the cafe through our walking tour and so glad we went. It was the best coffee we’ve had in Vietnam so far! Such a wonderful cause and a stunning handmade jewellery and tea sets at the back. Staff are kind and helpful when showing how to assemble the coffee. Highly recommend going here!

Really enjoyed my experience at this silent cafe. We tried two house coffees which were excellent and went for the cookie tasting set which entailed of a selection of mini cookies. Everything tasted amazing with a lot of flavour. Especially loved the decor and aesthetics of this place, from the table, to sugar pot and cups were handmade and just beautiful. This cafe is a silent space. You can communicate with the staff using blocks with text on it. The location also great for people watching!

We loved the handmade biscuit selection and local Vietnamese drip coffee. Also bout some beautiful souvenirs made by workshop at the teahouse. It's fully run by hearing impaired people, beautiful cause and service. I highly recommend for coffee, tea, snacks and arty souvenirs.

Amazing place to stop for some tea. We had a tasting set - 3 teas for 150K VND. It was soo worth it and all the teas were delicious. The service was fantastic and the setting was just perfect, so peaceful next to a busy street.

This place is great! Be mindful when you enter. After you sit down, they will approach you with a menu. I had the Vietnamese Green Tea and orders the Cookie Sampler. If you want to support Local and care about this cause here is your way to give back! Don’t forget to tip your server! These folks are kind and the sweetest people ever.

A quiet oasis in the middle of Hội An. The staff is very friendly and the communication through wooden blocks works really well! The teas a delightful and the little treats are very interesting and tasty. Would definitely recommend getting the snack tasting set. My favourite were the green tea coconut treats. If it weren’t for my already very full and heavy luggage I would have brought home multiple bags of them! Would also recommend checking out the boutique in the back. Beautifully crafted tea sets and jewellery galore. I bought a t golden tea strainer in the shape of a lotus leaf and golden chopsticks with intricate engravings.

There’s a Japanese word, Ma. It means a moment of space, a breath, that tiny bit of calm that lives between two clapped hands. And honestly, staying at your place is the closest I’ve ever come to actually feeling that in real life. Beyond the fact that your tea somehow manages to be grounding, fresh and uplifting all at once. Beyond the fact that your biscuits are better than anything I’ve had in the UK, a country that literally prides itself on biscuits and tea…Your Teahouse was my temple. My sanctuary. My moment of space. My Ma. Thank you for creating such a beautiful vibe. I’ve never felt more peaceful, and I still haven’t eaten biscuits that even come close. Your place is whimsical, it’s splendid, and it’s somewhere I’ll never forget. Thank you, and keep embracing that Ma 🙏🏻❤️🫖

A wonderful place in which to have some peace and quite in Hoi An! For about 250,000 VND, we had two house coffees and the cookie tasting tray. The coffees were strong and flavoursome. The staff showed us what to do to maximize the experience and were incredibly kind and courteous. The cookie tray featured a small range of biscuits which tasted amazing. At this coffee house, you communicate through writing messages on small notepads and through the use of message blocks. This creates a really calm atmosphere in which to enjoy your drink. However, some visitors were really loud when walking in, or when talking on the phone. A noticeboard for such inconsiderate people would be really useful to have at the front of the shop :) If you want a place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of Hoi An, escape the scorching sun, or just have an amazing drink, this teahouse is the place to go!

Silk Village Hoi An is a historical site that has been revived to showcase the rich tradition of silk weaving in Hoi An. The village, which dates back over 300 years, offers workshops where visitors can learn about the process of silk production from start to finish. Set within a resort complex and spa, the village also boasts natural attractions such as mulberry trees and lotus ponds.
Very nice place, tour per person 100 vnd, can see all the processes for the silk, good activities.

I would say this was one of my best stays in Vietnam. It was so relaxing and even the property was nice. They had quick service and they also upgraded us to a villa and who doesn’t love that. 🥰 I would really recommend it if you are planning to visit Hoi An.

Smooth Had the tour where we only arrived by private taxi. No other groups there so we had it all to ourselves which meant everyone took a little extra care of us. So timing can be important. Our teenagers didn't know about the process so they loved it. The tour was well worth it. We did some shopping afterwards where the prices were fixed regardless of volume but the quality is excellent.
Nil0 — Google review
Nice and informative excursion on silk production where you can see silk worms and their food, silk-waving machines in process and pure silk and unnatural silk comparison. Welcome mulberry drinks are nice bonus. The main disappointment is the shop: the stuff is polite and helpful, but there're a lot of mix-silk (including synthetic materials) and a few local artist made scarves; the colors are mainly bright. I've bought the only black silk scarf and have been disappointed in finding out the big drawstring with a hole in a scarf for 1200000 dongs which was carefully packed by the stuff.

Nice hotel with 2 large pools, good service, lousy plumbing but at least they were always fast to come fix it. Never could get my bathroom sink to stop dropping. We found this tour so incredibly interesting. Our guide (we forgot her name) was so lovely. In fact all the staff up to the security were so welcoming. This experience I highly recommend. Just arrive and you can pay for the tour , no need to book tickets before hand. We did wait 20 minutes probably for the people before us to complete their tour. There is a possibility you may have to wait longer when it's busy (just speculation). We got a mulberry welcome drink included while we waited. 10/10 in every asepct

Tra Que Herb Village is a picturesque farmland located on Tra Que Island, just a short bike ride away from Hoi An Ancient Town. The island is covered in lush greenery and features small family plots where various crops like spring onion, dill herbs, bok choy, and more are grown. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Vietnamese herb culture and learn about the different tastes and uses of herbs in local cuisine.
Organised visit from hotel, by bike. Wonderful landscape, very hot and humid (mid-July) but very beautiful. We did some farm work, cooked and ate bio products and had foot massage. Wonderful experience, I highly recommend !

Overpriced food for the rather basic food being provided. We had something similar to banh xeo, the best of the dishes we tried but I think rather average for what it was. The stir fried chicken in lemongrass and chili was unimpressive; the chicken was rather dry, and the dish was overall lacking in flavor. We also had braised pork claypot, and this was lacking in depth. The earthy flavor was too dominant. Overall disappointing experience. I appreciate the organic and vegan initiatives of the restaurant, but the experience and prices do indicate that this is a place catering to tourists. Not a place for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Hopefully they could improve the preparation of these dishes, at the very least. Servers were kind!

Water & Amusement Parks
Nestled in the enchanting city of Hoi An, Vietnam, Hoi An Memories Land is a captivating amusement park that opened its doors in 2018. This ancient-style park is renowned for its stunning Golden Bridge, supported by giant hands—an ideal spot to soak in breathtaking sunset views. As night falls, visitors can immerse themselves in the grand live performance known as 'Hoi An Memories,' which takes place from 8 PM to 9 PM daily (except Tuesdays).
I have to agree with Reuters in rating this is the most wonderful show in the world. Awesome choreography, combined with world class sound, lighting, laser works and pyrotechnics. The performers work extremely hard for this performance, often starting with the mini shows around the theme park until the grand finale show from 5-9pm. The show ticket allows you to enter the theme park around 4pm. You may feel underwhelming as you may be the only person there at this time. Good for picture taking at good spots without the crowd. Then at close to 5pm, the crowd starts to trickle in, when the mini shows start and keep you entertained until 7pm, where you have 1hr dinner time at the many restaurants. They are reasonably priced. 8pm is where the grand finale show starts at the main stadium. I'd recommend you buy the Hi-class ticket for the best experience. It's situated right at the middle with good height and distance. VIP seatings may be a little too high up and far to experience the sight and sound, but you get individual chair and table though. Will definitely return to watch the show again in the future.
Hoongji — Google review
This is the most beautiful show I’ve ever seen in my life. The performance is exquisitely arranged, with stunning props and world-class effects, yet it still preserves the traditional essence in both the story and the music. Even the mini shows are highly entertaining, with not a single moment that disappoints. I would truly recommend everyone to experience this at least once in their lifetime.

VIP tickets were definitely worth it - comfier seats, air conditioning, fruit and water and a full view of the entire stage! The White Rose Restaurant in Hoi An is renowned for its iconic dish, the white rose dumplings. These delectable dumplings are a local specialty and a must-try street food when visiting the city. The restaurant has gained fame for being the sole supplier of these dumplings to numerous eateries in Hoi An, with a closely guarded family recipe passed down through generations. The translucent white dough is filled with a specially seasoned shrimp and/or pork mix, then steamed to perfection.
They offer 2 dishes (white rose and fried dumplings). We got the white rose dumplings which come with mostly shrimp dumplings and 4 vegetable dumplings and dipping sauce. Delightful dumplings! Fresh, flavourful, easy to eat and light. Heaps of locals coming in to get takeaway and lots of food tour groups coming in for tastings. There is indeed a table of staff working on the dumplings in the back of the shop so you can even see how they’re made.

Absolutely loved the White Rose Dumplings here! Light, delicate, and full of flavor — topped with crispy shallots and paired with a delicious dipping sauce. The restaurant has a cozy vibe and you can really taste the tradition in every bite. A must-try when in Hoi An!
Sanisha D — Google review
Really liked the dumplings! Restaurant is a short walk from the Old Town, and the restaurant itself is clean and a nice place to eat at. The dumplings were delicious, but not mind blowing. The serving isn’t huge, so you may not be full afterwards unless you have a smaller appetite (just get a banh mi from a street vendor afterwards). Considering the serving size and the price (70k VND) it is a bit more ”pricier” than many other restaurants, but to a westerner it is still very cheap. I would absolutely recommend trying it at least once if you are in Hoi An!
Melv — Google review
Restaurant has only 2 dishes in standard portion on menu: White rose dumplings and Fried wonton The white rose dumpling tasted similar to fish dumpling, while the others that came with it tasted like soon kueh. Both equally nice and light. The fried wonton was huge with lots of ingredients on top in sweet sour sauce. Small eater like me will feel very full after finishing the two dishes. You can see the ladies making the dumplings at the back of the restaurant.

I heard a lot of good things about this place and they only have 2 dishes on the menu so I assumed it was gonna be good. It had to be good? 2 dishes? With that amount of focus on 2 items and great reviews it had to be good. The dumplings were so boring and uninspired I was shocked. The wontons were so bad it mad me sad. I’m not being dramatic. Do yourself a favor and find a street vender who actually cares about what they cook…
Jeremy B — Google review
They only sell 2 things: white rose dumplings and fried wanton, that's how you know it's gonna be good. I only ordered white rose dumplings. It was a big portion, it comes with two types of dumplings which one has just a tiny bit of minced meat on top, the other one has more fillings inside such as wood ear fungus, shitake mushrooms and minced meat (I supposed). It's then drizzled with generous amount of scallion oil and fried scallions, love that!!!! Before you eat you dip it into the fish sauce they make it themselves. It was quite oily to only use chopsticks hahaha! I love this though, I think this is only available in Hoi An - Da Nang. 😇😇 come try!

Quán Cao Lầu Thanh is a popular spot in Hoi An known for serving delicious Vietnamese turmeric noodles. The dish features soft udon-like noodles topped with Chinese barbecued pork slices, beansprouts, croutons, and fresh herbs, all drenched in a pork-based gravy. The restaurant offers a simple setup with wooden tables and chairs overlooking the main road.
This place service one of the best Hội An’s iconic dish—authentic cao lầu, that’s bursting with flavor and tradition! This no-frills spot serves up bowls of chewy, smoky noodles, topped with tender slices of pork, crispy crackling, fresh herbs, and just the right amount of broth to tie it all together. The flavours are not overpowering, the noodles have the perfect bite, the pork melts in your mouth, and the herbs add a refreshing crunch. The local throng this place and the prices are unbeatable. It’s nice and flavourful. The best thing is the super cold Diet Coke haha. I would look for that fish taste herbs and take it out before you go to town on the noodle. Interestingly, cao Lau (high floor) used to be for high society expensive food, an imitation to the Japanese udon as I’m told but made with rice. the cao lau here was absolutely incredible. we’d had some the night before from elsewhere but this one blew us away! the pork was so flavourful, the broth/sauce was soooo tasty, and the herbs perfectly balanced it all. the homemade yoghurt and vietnamese corn milk were also delicious and great for when you’ve put a few too many chillies in your bowl ;) the prices were very reasonable (35k for a small bowl, 50k for a big bowl) and the place is family run, the owner’s daughter was super friendly explaining how they grow all their own produce and showing us her father making the noodles in the back. it was really an incredible experience and we are still talking about it 2 days later! i would 100% recommend this place to anyone staying in Hoi An

When you find yourself in Vietnam, indulging in a Bánh mì is an absolute must, and "Bánh mì Mr Hieu" stands out as a delightful option. Nestled in the charming town of Hoi An, this eatery offers a unique twist on the beloved sandwich. Unlike many places that rely on processed ingredients, Mr. Hieu prides himself on using freshly cooked meats and perfectly seasoned spices to create an unforgettable flavor experience.
This is literally the most delicious Bahn Mi we have had so far. We are here for 4 months and will be coming for most of that time. The roll is crispy, the pork simple and tasty and the fillings very light and not full of oil. I’m a chef so to find this little gem is perfect no cooking for me. Staff are so wonderful too. We've already eaten about 6 bahn mi at Mr. Hieu and can't get enough! The bun is super crispy, the chicken is very tender, and it's packed with a variety of herbs, which makes the bahn mi taste super fresh and simply delicious! Cheese was added upon request; simply fantastic! The best bahn mi in Vietnam so far! It's a shame we're leaving Hoi An, but only because of this bahn mi! Unfortunately, the price here is relatively high. A chesse with chicken Bahn Mi costs 45,000 dong. You'll also be given a large drink, which costs 40,000 dong. Things can get expensive here quickly.

I was starving and forgot to take a photo of the banh mi we ordered. As soon as we got our food, we devoured it right away, and ended up ordering another round. It’s delicious, yes, and I believe my judgment is correct despite being overpowered by hunger. I will definitely go back again and prove that myself right. The place is well-lit, eye-catching, and so is the food.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere with delicious, well-prepared dishes. A must-visit spot for anyone craving great food and friendly service!
Marcus Y — Google review
We were craving a great banh mi and, after seeing all the rave reviews, we couldn’t resist checking out this place. There were a few tables available where you could sit and enjoy your sandwich with a drink, so we decided to settle in next to a nice, powerful fan for some added comfort. We ordered both a pork roll and an egg roll to try the difference. They were freshly made right after we ordered and placed on the grill. As soon as they were served, we couldn’t wait to take our first bite—and we were not disappointed! This was, hands down, one of the crunchiest banh mis I’ve ever had! Crunch factor: 10/10. The pork roll featured slices of actual pork meat, not the usual pork ham, which felt like a fresher and healthier option compared to the cold cuts I’m used to. The pate had a homemade taste to it and was absolutely delicious—10/10. The only thing I missed was the pickled carrot, but when I spoke with Me Hieu, he explained that he wanted to make his banh mi stand out by skipping it. He also mentioned that some people prefer not to have it, so that’s why he left it out. The egg roll was good, too, though we found the egg a bit overpowering compared to the herbs and pate. It would make a great breakfast option for some extra protein, but personally, I’ll stick to the pork version next time. We also tried both a salt ice coffee and a regular milk ice coffee, and both were perfectly made and delicious! Now, a quick note for any Aussies out there: If you're used to the Australian-style banh mi, I’d suggest coming with a different mindset. Remember, this is where banh mi originated, and the Australian version has been adapted to local ingredients and taste preferences. So, it might be a bit different from what you're used to, but it’s definitely a unique and authentic experience worth trying. Every region boasts its unique take on their dishes and this should be respected. At just 35,000 dong per roll, this was a 5-star meal we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend!

One of the few stalls where the staff spoke excellent English. The chicken Bánh mì was good, though at 39,000 dong the price was slightly higher compared to other places I visited. It was also possible to sit inside, which isn’t very common. The bread was good and crispy, but I’ve had the chance to try even better Bánh mì during my trip through Vietnam.

When in Hoi An, don't miss out on the opportunity to explore the city and its surroundings through bike tours and rentals. Experience the local culture by joining free biking tours organized by Vietnamese students, where you can cycle through rice fields, learn to prepare traditional foods, and discover parts of Hoi An off the beaten path. If you prefer to venture on your own, consider renting high-quality bikes that are smooth, light, and made with top-notch parts.
Vietnamese Canadian here. We visited Hoi An and rented two bikes to explore around town. Since we ride very good bikes back home, we were a little bit picky on bikes and these rental bikes met our expectations perfectly. They are smooth, light, and made with high quality parts. In fact, these are the same bikes used by a high end adventure company for their Vietnam Cross-Country tour. Overall very happy with these bikes, they've added more comfort and enjoyment to our exploration of Hoi An. No need to think twice, just go rent and ride!

Amazing day with Loan who is so kind and friendly. Visited organic gardens, paddled through water-coconut rivers, and biked through shrimp fields and rice paddies. Her friend Lee had lots of good knowledge on Vietnamese/Hoi An history. We asked for a local Vietnamese lunch and got exactly that. Highly recommend an afternoon with Loan to anyone visiting Hoi An.
Earle D — Google review
Simply amazing experience Loan is one of the nicest people and very insightful. Her English is great too so Communication was easy. We cycled through beautiful Villages and visited a lot of arts and crafts within the villages. Also got to experience some amazing local rice wine. Highly highly recommend experience.

I had an amazing experience renting a mountain bike from here. The owner is lovely and always happy to accommodate your needs. The bikes are of superior quality. I did a 70km ride without any problems. They provided a helmet and lock for the bike too. I highly recommend using Bike Rental Hoi An.

Nice simple bike tour in authentic village section of Hoi An. Easy going and very knowledgeable guide with brand new quality MTBs . A real highlight and well worth it

If you are a wanting a more robust and comfortable bike experience than the resort/hotel/Homestay selection while exploring Hio An (and beyond) this is the place for your cycle rental. Decent well looked after mountain bikes (Reid from US), great service from team (always good to contact before hand for shop opening times) good prices for long rentals. Nuf' said. Enjoy!

The owner is very kind and available. She gives amazing advices to visit the city and it's surrondings. The bicycles are mountain bikes and are super great ! Visiting the area with a bicycle is a must-to-do !

Thuan Tinh Island offers a unique cooking class experience in Vietnam. The day begins with a visit to a local market in downtown Hoi An, followed by a boat ride to the island's organic vegetable village to gather fresh ingredients. Visitors then embark on a rowing boat journey through coconut groves before arriving at the cooking school. Participants praise the knowledgeable and entertaining instructors, as well as the opportunity to learn about Vietnamese ingredients and market culture.
We had such an amazing time with Nhi learning how to cook traditional Vietnamese cuisine. From the market tour, the boat ride and the actual cooking, the day was perfect. Nhi was a great guide with a wonderful personality and beautiful story. Couldn’t recommend this experience more.
Kelly O — Google review
A really fantastic experience! Such a wonderful family, funny, cheeky, fantastic English. Really enjoyed the market visit and of course the food! Delicious! Ride in the coconut boats was not really for us (not sure why Gangnam style needs to be blasted at that volume!) but understand the boats are a ‘must do thing’ in Hoi an so it ticked it off the list at least. That being said I would highly recommend this class, for beginners or those who cook regularly. We learnt a lot and we are self professed good cooks! Thank you Nhi and family!!
Stuart L — Google review
We loved this tour, one of the best things we’ve done in Vietnam! Nhi was incredible and really made the who thing. So after collection from our hotel we met Nhi at the market where we bought all of our ingredients fresh for the cooking. We then had our driver take us to some boats for a short detour which was fun. The cooking class itself was really good especially as it was only the 2 of us plus Nhi. We made pancakes , chicken noodle soup , fresh spring rolls and a beef noodle salad. All amazing! Cannot recommend enough .
Matthew H — Google review
I wish I could give Nhi 10 stars. We had such a great day on her tour, Nhi really is the star of the show and supported by her husband and cute daughter. We enjoyed every bit of the day, from the market to the coconut boats to her delicious food that we made. Nhi was so funny, friendly and a great teacher. We wish her and her family all the best in the future! Aimee & Thomas
Aimee B — Google review
We had a great time and learned so much. Our guide and teacher Ni was excellent and made the experience fun. We especially enjoyed the morning market experience. Our creations were some of the freshest and tastiest food of our trip. The 30 min basket boat experience through a palm marsh was un-needed, kinda of silly but allowed our teacher time to prep our freshly purchased market food for the class. The large covered but open kitchen space was ideal for our class.
David H — Google review
We absolutely loved our morning with Nhi. The trip to the market was very interesting and then the cooking class was informative and very delicious. Thank you Nhi and family!!
Dan F — Google review
Taste explosion today! Everything we wanted to find: more advanced knowledge gained during the market tour learning the names of unknown veg, workshop in the countryside, river ride on small boats, Recipes written in a cute handout booklet to take home. Hon was our guide and cooking teacher and he was great. He tailored the lesson so that each has challenge and children has a lot of help. I definitely feel confident to cook the four dishes at home 💪 You must go!
Camille B — Google review
Awesome cooking class! We were picked up from our hotel in the morning and the whole tour took up to about 5 hours in total. Trang, our friendly guide, did an amazing job as a Tour Guide as she explained every single thing that we were doing throughout the day. Also knowledgeable and was able to share more information and answer our questions. Tour started with a trip to the market to get fresh ingredients. For those who don't eat meat / pork etc, this is the time you could inform the guide of your dietary requirements. Like us, Trang had substituted pork at no cost as we don't eat pork. We then head to Than Tinh Village via boat. There, Trang transformed into her Chef uniform and started the cooking class. She was a really great teacher; explained everything clearly, step by step for all 4 dishes! Overall summary of itinerary for the cooking class: 8.30am: Pickup from hotel, headed to market to get fresh ingredients 9.20am: took a boat to Than Tinh Village 10.00am: arrived at the "mini jetty", changed to a smaller boat 10.05am: setup, introduction + cooking class begins! 12.30pm: demonstration of 3rd dish 2.00pm: we were done with cooking our 4th and final dish and started indulging! :) 2.30pm: safe and sound at the hotel Would really recommend this cooking class if you're in Hoi An! It's conducted in a small group, knowledgeable and friendly tour guide (Trang) who speaks good English, you get to learn to cook 4 Vietnamese dishes at a reasonable price. All in all it was a really good experience! P.s you will be cooking at eating the dish you prepared /cooked after every dish so to truly enjoy the whole experience of cooking and eating at the same time please remember to participate in the cooking class with a not so full stomach (unless if you have quite a huge stomach) or else you'll be too full to eat your own cooking. ;)

Bánh mì Bích is a popular spot known for its unique pâté and non-greasy bread. It's highly praised by young customers for its flavorful fillings and the fact that the sandwiches don't get soggy. Located at 57 Phan Chu Trinh, near the Ho An movie theater, this place attracts a steady stream of customers without long waits. The friendly owners make the experience even more enjoyable.
Best banh mi in Hoi An (we much preferred this to Banh Mi Phuong!) so authentic and delicious and lovely people.
Niamh Q — Google review
Banh Mi had a very umami flavour, good meat balance but not enough herbs or aromatics to have the perfect balance for me and my wife’s tastes. Bread was crispy. Lady who served us was very friendly and made it with a smile.
Jason L — Google review
Very friendly owner! I actually planned to get another “famous” banh mi nearby but it got sold out that evening. Thanks Banh mi bich it’s the best I had in Hoi an!! 🫶🏻 TBH I am a bit concerned about the hygiene of these kiosks before, but this store gave me confidence! It’s very clean the banh mi tasted really good!
Celine C — Google review
AVOID: The vendor here pulled a classic 'money switching scam' on us. She pretended that our 200k had been a 50k note. She was well practiced in this scam and, when challenged, claimed that there were no 200k notes in her cash draw at all! We pointed out this would be impossible after a busy day serving tourists, who would largely be paying with 200k notes from cash machines. We eventually got our money back, but only after camera footage, much wasted time, and a threat of involving the police. It seems that the positive reviews here are actually intended for a far more famous shop on the same road: Bánh Mì Phượng, where Anthony Bourdain once ate. Confuse these two at your peril!
Benjamin A — Google review
The only place we eat Banh mi whenever we come to Hoi An. It's truly amazing 🤩 wish I could have one more right now 😂
Phuong L — Google review
Do yourself a favour and pop in here for a banh mi. Delicious filling with plenty of meat and pate, and fresh herbs to top it off.
Michael B — Google review
BEST banh mi in Hoi An (and our favorite place in Vietnam so far). We tried this stall on our private food tour and it was beyond delicious. The homemade pate was incredibly tasty and the bread was nice and crunchy. Nothing feels better than supporting local business women. 10/10 recommend.

Embark on the Hoi An Food Tour to delve into the city's rich cultural heritage through its culinary delights. These tours often commence at local markets, providing insight into Vietnamese ingredients, before venturing to family-run eateries and street food stalls. Sample authentic dishes like Cao Lau, Tam Hao Cake, Banh Xeo, and white rose dumplings.
My Son Sanctuary was one of the places that pushed me to travel to Vietnam and I was not disappointed. The sanctuary is absolutely divine in itself but Toan was such an amazing guide that he made the experience even better. Interested, passionate and knowledgeable about the place and its history, Toan helped us re-enacting this civilisation from another time. Thank you so much !

I booked the My son half day tour via KKday, and they were able to pick me up at my hotel’s lobby for free so super convenient for us as the tour started quite early. The guide contacted me to let us know the arrival time to our hotel so we don’t need to wait for too long at pickup. Everything during the tour went smoothly and Toan provided the cultural and historical explanation for the locations.

An absolutely fantastic tour of Hoi An with Jackie! If you're looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, fun, and truly passionate about the city, you need to book with Jackie. She made the history of Hoi An feel alive and vibrant, not just a series of facts. Jackie was incredible at navigating the Old Town efficiently, pointing out all the hidden gems and local secrets we would have missed on our own. She had a fantastic sense of humor and made everyone in our group feel comfortable and engaged. She even took some brilliant photos for us at the best spots! I highly recommend Jackie for anyone visiting Hoi An. Five stars all the way—she is a true professional and made this tour the highlight of my trip. Thank you, Jackie!

This was the perfect tour for anyone wanting a no frills experience of the My Son Sanctuary and temples. Emma was a fantastic guide, with great English and lots of knowledge about the specifics of the temples and their history. The banh mi and coffee on the way back was delicious. I highly recommend going at 5.30am as we did, as I can see how hot it gets out there! Thanks for the great experience.
Georgia B — Google review
We had a tour with Tin Tin. A joy of a tour guide. She was very informative about the locations we went to. Unfortunately it started to rain very hard at our coconut boat ride, we got soaked but it was very fun. Our coconut boat operator was friendly and even gave us a show. Food was good, with a selection of authentic Vietnamese dishes. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved this tour, My Son is a must-visit. The temple grounds are so beautiful with the surrounding mountains, the chirping birds, and the awe-inspiring ancient structures. Our tour guide named Toàn was so friendly and informative, and I was fascinated to learn and ask about everything in My Son. Then we were given some of the best Banh Mi I’ve ever had and I got a perfect egg coffee at the tour’s end. Couldn’t recommend more, so fun!

When exploring the vibrant street food scene, be sure to try Bánh Đập, a dish consisting of rice crackers served with steamed rice pancakes and anchovy sauce. For seafood enthusiasts, a visit to Cam Nam Island offers the chance to savor Hến Trộn, a flavorful salad made with clams, peanuts, herbs and onion accompanied by the crispy rice cracker known as bánh đập. These authentic local specialties are not only delicious but also offered at affordable prices.
“Crispy, Flavorful, and Full of Local Charm!” If you’re in Hội An and want to try something truly authentic and delicious, Bánh Đập Nì Bà Già is the place to go! This humble, local eatery specializes in bánh đập, a simple yet incredibly satisfying dish that perfectly captures the flavors of Central Vietnam. The bánh đập here is crispy, light, and incredibly fresh, served with a side of rich, savory dipping sauce that takes the dish to another level. Pair it with a bowl of hến xào (stir-fried baby clams) for the ultimate experience—bold, fragrant, and packed with umami goodness. What makes this place even more special is its authentic, no-frills atmosphere and the friendly, welcoming owners who have been serving this dish for generations. It’s a true hidden gem where you can enjoy Hội An’s food culture in its most traditional form. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience real Hội An flavors. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The rice cake sandwich is AMAZING! That combined with the sauce is one of the best thing I’ve ever had. Also the baby clam salad with rice cracker is a banger duo too. Loved everything I ate here. The staff can speak English and is friendly.

We had a lovely time at Ni Bà Già! The owner is lovely and chats to you like an old friend. We wanted to try the Bánh Đập which was delicious alongside the Hến Trộn! Quality local food you should definitely try when in Hoi An 🫶🏼👌🏼

Best place and owners! We came here 3 days in a row for lunch. It's such simple and great food. The owner would sit and chat with us. Such a lovely atmosphere and worth wandering out to on your bike! Would 100% recommend it.
Ross J — Google review
Final night and final meal in Hoi An and so grateful we found this place. Had the best cao lầu of our time in Hoi An here. Then the owner, who was hilarious, friendly and just so nice, told us to get Bánh đập which we had never had and was so good, and hến xúc bánh đa, baby clams on sesame rice crackers which stole the show. Felt like we found a great local spot for our last meal and all for 150k VND. Had we found this restaurant earlier we would have been back more than once.
N P — Google review
Amazing food and experience. I am generally anti-pork guy, but read so many good reviews of cao lau that decided to go for it and must say it was something really special. Also ordered Hen Xao to go with a flow ;) Same thing. Impressed. An owner was very humble man and asked how did I like clams cause some people do not like it. Certainly I was not the one. A dog and a hen walking around just added to general cozy and friendly climate.
Marcin G — Google review
Amazing find! Great food - the Hen Tron is fantastic and we had Coa Lau - we don't eat meat so they made it for us with tofu in instead - really tasty and fresh. The family are really friendly and proper good fun! The beer is very cold - great fridge!! We went back 3 times! Highly recommended!

Dessert shop
If you find yourself wandering along Nguyen Truong To Street in Hoi An, keep an eye out for a small street vendor offering a delightful treat known as Che Xi Ma Phu. This traditional dessert is made from a blend of black sesame, coconut, rice flour, and sugar, resulting in a smooth and luscious soup with a distinct sesame flavor. You can savor this sweet delight while sitting on a stool along the street, taking in the local atmosphere.
Cool, unique experience to sit down, drink homemade sesame soup, and hear the history and experiences of the family/owner behind the soup. When we went we were the only ones — it was a bit hard to find, as it looks like you’re walking into someone’s house. Sesame soup was good as well; not too sweet, especially paired with the tea. Would recommend to anyone looking to sit down for a while, eat homemade desserts, and listen to local history.
Shanru — Google review
Some places deserve a visit for their rich history—and this was one of them. We went to try Che Xi Ma Phu, where Mr. Bao warmly welcomed us with a hot glass of herbal tea, followed by a comforting bowl of this sweet black dessert. The flavor was delicately sweet—not overpowering—letting the nutty richness of sesame and the smooth texture of what seemed like kudzu paste (quite like powdered rice) shine through. It’s a beautiful blend of taste and tradition. If you’re ever nearby, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
Rushreeta D — Google review
Beautiful and memorable experience. From the stomach warming black sesame soup tampered by old ginger tea, to the hospitable husband n wife who chatted with us n shared their 70 years tradition. Blessed to have met their mum (101 yrs old!) who pioneered the business with her husband (108 yrs old!). Their wares n photos were lovingly displayed to share with all. And would you believe that they are still sleeping on wooden beds ie no mattress! Perhaps there’s a hidden secret here… You will regret not visiting this place.
Thiam N — Google review
We spoke with the store owner who was lovely and told us all about her family’s history in making the black sesame soup. Made a delicious meal all the more better<3

Milled by hand and prepared fresh daily by the owner, it's worth a visit to try this traditional dessert. The owner was also happy to share the history of his parents' business. The hot tea was also unique consisting of ginger.

This place is a TOURIST TRAP. They no more show the soup making after covid. Its just there in the ticket. When u go there, the old man will come and ask u for the soup. Its doesnt taste like anything. A very small bowl of soup. And he asks you 30k for it. I questioned him why is this part of my ticket that i paid for, He said you can see the pictures. I finally paid 10k and got off the place saying i dont have money
Ajith — Google review
It was fantastic to meet the owner of the house and hear his story. The house feels like a little museum and his 101 old mother that can been seen by the many photographers there is still alive, napping behind the main room. The sweet sesame soup was very good, great little treat to try the local traditions. The owner showed us the ingredients of how it is made. Sadly after Covid they don’t do any more demonstrations but still worth trying this place. We also got a complimentary cup of tea.

Cam Nam Island, located just across the Cam Nam Bridge from Hoi An, offers a serene escape with its coconut palm-fringed waterways and bustling cottage industries. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely boat ride alongside the ancient town to reach the island and savor seafood starters while overlooking the picturesque Thu Bon River at sunset. The island is known for its delectable clam dishes that locals flock to in the evenings.
Cham Island is a beautiful place to visit. You need a motorcycle to get around on and explore. 2 nice beaches . You can just relax at a bar or go swimming, snorkeling or diving with the experts, so much fun. Plenty of place to eat local food and more. Check out Nha Waratah a Vietnamese lady owns it and she comes from Sydney absolutely delicious food to eat there at reasonable prices. Also soft drink and beer and smoothies available .

(Translated by Google) All in all, a nice tour, but way too touristy. You go around and they try to sell you drinks. Shortly after, you find photographers in the water who want to take your picture (for a fee). We continue towards those who spin the boat (and here too, more money), after which we dock at a platform with karaoke (obviously more money). The tour ends and your guide will ask you for a tip (more money 🤣). You'll disembark at their bar and they'll sit you at a table to sell you more. If you have time to teach, like me, that's fine; otherwise, just watch them.
