Nature & Parks
State park
Ueno Park is a vibrant urban oasis in Tokyo, perfect for leisurely strolls and cultural exploration. This expansive park boasts picturesque walking paths that meander past a serene lake where visitors can rent boats. Each spring, the park transforms into a cherry blossom wonderland, attracting hanami enthusiasts who gather to enjoy picnics beneath the stunning pink blooms of over 1,000 cherry trees.
Beautiful and peaceful place in the heart of Tokyo! Ueno Park is a must-visit — full of nature, culture, and history. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk, especially during cherry blossom season. There are museums, temples, and even a zoo all within the park. Easy to reach from Ueno Station, and there’s always something interesting happening. A great spot to enjoy fresh air and experience Tokyo’s traditional side.
Asaad A — Google review
Convenient location, just a short walking distance from the station, the zoo, and plenty of restaurants & shops. It’s also spacious, making it a great spot for running or jogging. While it’s especially popular during cherry blossom season, the park is just as enjoyable in the summer, with its wide greenery and relaxing atmosphere. That said, I don’t really enjoy the presence of a few loiterers in certain areas, which can make the park feel a bit less comfortable at times. Still, overall it remains a pleasant place to spend time, whether for a walk, some light exercise, or simply to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
Meidina A — Google review
A fun trip to the museum/park for a special gift! 🎁 My kid wanted to grab a birthday gift for a friend at the museum today, so we drove over. Man, it was absolutely packed! 😅 Couldn't even get into the underground parking, so we ended up using the partnered lot at Matsuzakaya. Right by the entrance, they had this amazing European-style Christmas Market event going on! 🎄 The park itself was gorgeous with all the stunning fall foliage—everyone was taking photos! 📸 This place is seriously cool: a stylish café, a zoo, art museums, and regular museums... it's such a charming and versatile park! Highly recommend checking it out. ✨
Tetsushi K — Google review
Euno Park is huge and completely free to enter, making it a perfect spot to spend a day outdoors. The park looks different in every season, and each view is absolutely mind-blowing. It features a zoo and a museum, adding to the variety of things to do. One of the highlights is the large lake—if you venture inside, you can enjoy a boat ride with spectacular views. There’s also a shrine where you can offer a prayer, adding a peaceful touch to the visit. Euno Park is most famous for its cherry blossom festival, where thousands of blooming trees, lights, music, and delicious food create an unforgettable vibe. It’s truly a must-visit place. Even if you just sit by the lake and watch the water, it’s a perfect way to enjoy your me-time.
Samarpika D — Google review
Ueno Park is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Tokyo! It’s a perfect mix of nature, culture, and history! There’s always something to enjoy — locals relaxing, families picnicking, and street performers adding to the lively atmosphere. The park is also beautifully maintained and easily accessible by train. If you visit Tokyo, Ueno Park is a must-see, especially during sakura season — it truly captures the heart of Japan.
Ivan H — Google review
I came here at sunset and the park was still packed, but not noisy at all. It is beautiful and there are lots of things to see and places to explore, so I believe it’s worth coming back to and maybe in the morning as some of the attractions nearby were closing when I arrived. There’s a train station nearby (Ueno), so it is easily accessible by public transportation. I loved the unique lamps! Just don’t simply pass by them, try to enjoy the artwork 👌
André M — Google review
A beautiful and cultural escape in Tokyo! Ueno Park is perfect for a relaxing stroll while enjoying nature, museums, and historic landmarks. The cherry blossoms in spring are breathtaking, and there’s plenty to see all year round, including ponds, temples, and street performances. Great for families, couples, or solo visitors who want a mix of culture and greenery. Don’t forget to visit the Ueno Zoo and nearby museums for a full experience!

Very pretty. The foliage is not in full effect yet in mid November but the park was beautiful nonetheless. There are a lot of people early Saturday morning but the park was huge so there’s a quiet corner for everyone.

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, a former estate turned 144-acre park, was originally created as a recreational garden for the Imperial family. It is an Important Cultural Property and features three types of gardens: English, French, and Japanese. Throughout the year, the park hosts various events such as photography lessons, chrysanthemum flower exhibitions, and traditional Japanese art performances.
This garden is incredibly spacious and beautiful — perfect for picnics, hanging out with friends, or just relaxing. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, with plenty of spots to enjoy the scenery. I really appreciated how convenient it was too, with lots of vending machines available throughout. The highlight for me was the Starbucks inside the garden — not only is the coffee great, but the view from there is absolutely a must-try experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to spend a peaceful and enjoyable time outdoors!
Abdelrahman A — Google review
Wonderful, peaceful gardens to visit both for tourists and locals! The ponds, statuary, trees, and flowers make you feel you are in a faraway paradise. There is a convenient Information Center near the entrance, and many clean restrooms. Fees are very reasonable including 50% discount for Senior Citizens and disabilities and students. Beautiful backdrops for photo opportunities.
GBC — Google review
A beautiful and peaceful escape in the middle of Tokyo. Shinjuku Gyoen is incredibly clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The park has lovely Japanese gardens, open lawns, and a stunning greenhouse. Perfect for relaxing walks, picnics, and photography. I went during ___ (spring/autumn/etc.), and the scenery was breathtaking — especially the cherry blossoms! Very easy to access from Shinjuku-Gyoenmae Station. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy nature in the city.

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is a beautiful botanical Garden in Tokyo Japan. if you’re a plant and flower enthusiast there is a lot to see. There are a lot of lakes to which makes it very calming. there is a lot of place to play and run around for kids, and it’s also a great picnic spot similar to Hyde Park in London. it’s great to see cherry blossoms in the spring season. I went in autumn season in secon first week of November. As you can see in the pictures. There were no red and yellow trees, and I was disappointed. so it might be better to go in end, November when autumn hits in tomyo
Gaurav R — Google review
Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is truly an oasis amid the bustle of Shinjuku. We visited on a lightly drizzling day and spent about an hour exploring the grounds. Although we managed to see most of the main areas in that time, we easily could have spent another hour or two strolling through the beautifully maintained landscapes. The gardens feature a variety of scenic areas, along with several pleasant cafés and refreshment spots, making it a relaxing place to pause and enjoy the surroundings. The facilities and amenities were exceptionally clean and well maintained, consistent with Japan’s high standards. Admission was 500 yen per adult, and the gardens are open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Overall, Shinjuku Gyoen offers a peaceful retreat from the city and is well worth a visit for anyone spending time in Tokyo.

Oh my, i visited Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden a couple of months back. I went with wife and daughter, since she is studying in japan. I found this gem by coincident after having breakfast. As you need to walk to release your heavy tummy. Need to pay at the gate, and it raise our expectation, as some park in tokyo are free. However it was exceed my expectation, you may find big trees, a wide and clean road, green grass, clean lake. This typicall garden that you yave spend in long hours, do not rush, so you earn it. I loved it, love it very much. Btw, you may grab a delicious matcha inside, a few cafe will provide it.
Aris D — Google review
Amazing place to visit and chill, especially in autumn when the weather is sub 20 degrees. Beautifully crafted landscaping and really appreciated the breeze and silence. Always wanted to see the pavilion featured in Garden of Words and it certainly didn't disappoint! Just note they're very strict on the closing time and will go around to chase people out so don't overstay your welcome!
Gary C — Google review
An excellent and beautifully maintained garden right in the heart of Tokyo. The entrance fee is 500 yen, which is very reasonable for the size and serenity of the place. The park features a wonderful mix of traditional Japanese style gardens, with wide walking paths and plenty of benches to relax. It’s a peaceful escape from the busy streets of Shinjuku, perfect for a quiet stroll, enjoying seasonal flowers, or simply taking a break in nature. Definitely worth a visit.

Nestled in the heart of Tokyo, Yoyogi Park is a sprawling urban oasis that spans an impressive 134 acres. This vibrant park features serene lakes, charming fountains, and lush forested areas adorned with mature trees, making it a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Located just south of Shinjuku and near the iconic Yoyogi National Gymnasium, it's easily accessible for both locals and tourists alike.
A nice park to relax in or go for a jog. Most of the park is tree lined paths and bench areas though it has a few extra sections. There is a beautiful butterfly garden on the south side that I'd recommend. A herb / rose garden. A dog park. And a lake for viewing birds... Though they were hiding during our visit.
Bill R — Google review
Green, expansive, gorgeous. There are so many words that could describe Yoyogi Park but those are my top three. I loved the greenery, art, wildlife, and the First Flight Monument. Easy to get to, easy to navigate. Even though we walked around for a few hours, there was still more to see. Don’t miss it! Photography by Jason Taylor (Except for the pictures I took)
Amy S — Google review
A newfound favorite park! 🌿 It’s very clean and well-maintained, making it such a pleasant place to explore. I visited in winter (January) and loved that it wasn’t crowded. Just be sure to dress warmly so you can fully enjoy walking around. There are food stalls around, but since Shibuya is within walking distance, you’ll have plenty of dining options nearby. Definitely a must-visit spot in Tokyo!
Bea S — Google review
Beautiful gem found right around the corner from Harajuku station. Conveniently located & within walking distance of Takeishita street shopping area. I went on a Sunday and it was busy but not crowded. The park is filled with gorgeous big lush trees, giving off such a peaceful vibe. I loved seeing the shrine and all the gates. This is a great place to come if you're looking to get a break from the hustle and bustle, to relax or have a little lunch. At the Yoyogi park main stage you'll find alot of events happening. Filled with live performances to tons of food tents. Highly recommends to stop by and take it all in.
Yana — Google review
Beautiful and very lovely, at least today (26th October), with many food stalls and musicians playing. If you continue and walk more to the centre of the park, it’s much quieter (it was also the end of the day, so it might me more crowded on the morning or early afternoon). Too bad there’s a lot of construction going on (hence the 4 stars), as I was hoping to come here and relax, to escape from the Shibuya madness!…
André M — Google review
People say it's like Central Park in NYC. It is indeed a big and enjoyable park. But I don't know why I can't find the huge pond with a fontaine in the center of the park. I think it is under renovation because I saw a huge circular metal wall in the park. Other than that, it is really a nice place to chill, walk, and sit under the trees. It is serene and so green!
Gendisa G — Google review
This is a place of respite in the city. I feel automn is the great time to walk in this park. The trees are starting to change color. It's pretty nice.

Meguro River, a renowned waterway in Tokyo, flows through Meguro, Shinagawa, and Setagaya wards before reaching Tokyo Bay. The 4-kilometer stretch of the river is adorned with cherry trees that bloom spectacularly in spring and showcase stunning autumn foliage. This draws crowds of nature enthusiasts to admire the picturesque scenery.
Beautiful, scenic walk even during the winter time when trees are not in bloom. A quiet neighborhood you can walk through.

One of the most famous sakura viewing place in Tokyo. Good: easy to get, amazing lighting for night Sakura view 5-8pm; very center, many things to do nearby Bad: too crowded, and the Sakura trees were cut in 2024, making it not that amazing any more. Also, there are many blocks so you can’t see the river well
Michael J — Google review
Though I visited during the non-cherry blossom season, the peace and tranquility of this place has my heart. I can only imagine how this place transforms during the Sakura season. A quiet lane running parallel to the lake is ideal for a leisurely walk. The near by lanes and by-lanes (leading upto Meguro station) too offer beautiful views of the city, lake and blossoms.

🌸 Meguro River Cherry Blossoms Festival - A Magical Spring Experience 🌸 Visiting the Meguro River during cherry blossom season is an absolute must! The stunning sakura trees lining the river create a breathtaking pink tunnel, especially when illuminated at night. The reflections on the water add an ethereal charm, making it a dreamlike spot for photos. The festival vibes are fantastic, with food stalls offering delicious snacks and drinks like sakura-themed cocktails and treats. It can get crowded, but the atmosphere is lively and joyful, with everyone soaking in the beauty of spring. Pro tip: Arrive early in the evening for a good spot to enjoy the lights and blossoms. Wear comfortable shoes and take your time strolling along the river—each view is better than the last! Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Tokyo in spring. Truly a magical experience that showcases Japan’s love for nature and beauty. 🌸✨ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The nakameguro side is quite crowded, so better to walk away from there. It gets less crowded as you walk, and its got lots of cherry blossoms. Lots of cafes and small shops along the walkways too.
Colin — Google review
You can't visit Japan without taking a walking tour and seeing the sights, this includes the Meguro River. We visited in the off season, so no cherry blossoms for us however beautiful nonetheless.
Matthew A — Google review
This was taken 2 days ago and it has bloomed beautifully! 🌸 It was mega crowded especially from nakameguro station crossing over to the river side and the entire stretch on both sides along the river was super crowded as you can see from my photos. After crossing to the river from nakameguro station, check out the viewsfrom the small building next to the river. Go to level 2 for a nice and quiet photo taking spot! 🌸🩷 There are washrooms there too. God's creation is so beautiful✨️🙌🏻 A few stalls along the river sold pinkish cocktail looking drinks with strawberries✨️🌸🍓

Inokashira Park, a 95-acre city park established in 1917, offers a serene escape with its picturesque pond, boating facilities, and scenic trails. The park is renowned for its cherry blossoms, attracting crowds to admire the majestic weeping cherry blossom tree at Rikugien Garden. It's an ideal spot for a leisurely date with attractions like swan boats, temples to explore, and opportunities for picnics.
Lovely park, an oasis of tranquility in the midst of a bustling city. We were surprised by how calm and large it is. Beautifully laid out, spotless and numerous activities. The park also contains a small zoo. The lake adds to the overall serenity. You can rent a pedalo, or a rowing boat, to admire the scenery from the water. The train station is very close to an entrance, and the park is free of charge. Afterwards cross the station to find yourself in covered shopping streets. Plenty of shops and restaurants around, including in the train station.
Arjen T — Google review
Such a beautiful, tranquil park with a lake in the middle. You can even hire out different boats for half an hour from a dock (row boats, Swan pedal boats) to take across the lake. I took a pedal boats with a friend. This was such a great and fun experience. There are also a few shrines around the park, and a few streets with eateries and shops to look around if you get bored. There's also a playground for little kids. The greenery is also spectacular, especially against the backdrop of the lake. I went during June but the park was still very lush. Highly recommend this spot as a nice break from the busy Tokyo city.
Meghana G — Google review
Around 1 hour by train from Ginza to Kichijoji, you can visit this beautiful vast park. There are a lot of things you can see and do here. They have a lot of different areas, from the lakes to the playground and baseball fields. Great for picnic! There is also the Ghibli Museum here. Make sure to book your ticket in advanced as they do not receive walk-in entry (April 2025 visit).

Wow, I was completely blown away how beautiful the park is. Clean, very well maintained, quiet and laid-back. And if you are familiar with Japanese animes and video games, you would have come across this park, and it looks exactly like how it was depicted. There are plenty of trails, and I think the park will look very different as seasons change. The park is open all year round, but I suggest avoiding visiting on a Tuesday, as most cafes are closed.

Sumida Park, located along the picturesque Sumida River between Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree, is a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike. Just a stone's throw away from Sensoji Temple, this riverside park offers a serene escape from the bustling temple crowds. During cherry blossom season, the park transforms into a stunning display of over 1,000 cherry trees in full bloom.
It's absolutely stunning here during spring! The view of the cherry blossoms and the Tokyo Skytree is just breathtaking. You can feel the spirit of the cherry blossom festival come alive as the place is filled with couples taking photoshoots, furparents walking their dogs, ladies wearing kimonos, and groups having cherry blossom viewing parties. Tips: - Prepare for the cold in the early mornings or late evenings, especially when it rains or when you're near the river. - Be sure that you stay in place when reserving a spot for hanami, as they dispose of unattended picnic mats. - There are many trash bins so you can dispose of the food you eat during hanami. Remember to segregate. - If you'd rather not use the portable toilets, you can search Google Maps for the different locations of their restrooms.

Beautiful park which has great views of the water and surrounding buildings. Really good picture spot for Tokyo tower and asahi HQ. A must do if you are in the area. Bathrooms at the far end. Can be hot in the sun (even in October!).

I was there in early morning during golden week so there were practically a handful of people. It’s a great place to take a break, unwind and get a real nice view of the Sumida river along with Tokyo SkyTree

Lovely park and river walk, the Sakura are starting to bloom as well. You can also take a river bus from the park stop, there is a cafe and play park, and soon they will have night time illuminations too for the cherry blossoms. Great views of Tokyo tower too, if it's not stormy!

I visited Sumida Park early one morning on my way to Tokyo Skytree, and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful experiences of my trip. The cherry blossoms line the boardwalk by the river, and in the stillness of the morning, it felt completely tranquil. With the Tokyo Skytree as your backdrop, it’s an incredible setting for a quiet walk, especially during sakura season. There were hardly any people around, and the combination of nature, water, and skyline made it feel surreal. Highly recommend visiting in the morning for a calm, reflective start to your day — it’s a side of Tokyo not everyone gets to see.

Showa Kinen Park, located in Tokyo's western suburb of Tachikawa, is a vast national park spanning over 160 hectares. The park offers extensive trails, bike paths, various gardens, and woods for visitors to explore. One of its main attractions is the expansive water park divided into five different zones. Zone C features the lively Rainbow Pool with nine pool types, slides, and wave machines suitable for older kids and teens.
A beautiful and spacious park, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature in every season. I visited during spring, and the cherry blossoms were absolutely stunning. There are bike rentals, picnic areas, flower gardens, and even a small lake. It’s peaceful, clean, and great for families, couples, or solo walks. A hidden gem just a short train ride from Tokyo

A beautiful wide park in Tachikawa, offering a variety of views for a lot of age groups. There's a flower field, a forest where kids can play, a wide open field where you can have a picnic and many more. Not many people know about, especially foreigners, but for me it is a must if you're a lover of nature 🌼

Japanese garden is highly recommended !!! 👌 take a whole day and enjoy the park. There are rental bikes and boats as well. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants that offers many range if food as well. If you want to bring your own picnic that's fine too 🙂

Amazing park! We spent 4 hours there and couldn’t see the entire park because there is so much to experience and see. There is a section called children’s forest which seems out of the way and like there might not be much there to do but it was huge! Lots of play structures and climbing structures. Some unique things that we’ve never seen before at any other park.

Just awesome park and biggest, you can spend 3 to 4 hours walking inside park and there are toilets and restaurant inside. Multiple exits are clearly marked. Ensure you carry enough water and food. There is also barbeque area which is paid. Boating you can do, see beautiful flowers in season. Herb garden and many more. Walkable from tachikawa station. Recommended for sure. Enjoy Japan.

The park is enormous, so be prepared either to do a lot of walking, or to rent a bike. You can also ride the adorable steam engine trains that traverse the park regularly. The purpose of my visit on a mid spring morning was to see the Japanese Garden, and it does not disappoint. It is among the most special Japanese gardens in all of Tokyo, and it is truly sublime.

Rikugien Gardens is a stunning traditional Japanese garden located in Komagome, just south of Sugamo. It was created by Daimyo Yoshiyasu Yanagisawa during the Edo Period and features a central pond, winding walking trails, and several teahouses. The name 'Rikugien' translates to 'six poems garden' and the garden showcases 88 miniature scenes from famous poems.
The garden is peaceful, featuring a large central pond where turtles can often be seen. Near the entrance, visitors can pick up small, colorful paper umbrellas for free to enjoy a stroll around the park. By the pond, a small and charming teahouse offers the chance to taste green tea and traditional sweets for 10000 yen. It also sells handcrafted paper items. Just behind the teahouse, a small grassy hill provides a higher vantage point for viewing the garden. Please note: there are large mosquitoes in the area.

This garden is the model from Wakaura, a scenic place in Wakayama. They put 88 scenic parts from Wakayama in this garden, and make it as the most worth to visit garden in Tokyo. The entrance fee is ¥300 You might want to visit this garden in different seasons, and I suggest the most beautiful time is around spring and autumn. They have a very scenic autumn leaves and an old big shidare sakura, also beautiful zen garden and pond inside. A good walking trail, there are short rout for 30-40 mins walk or long route 60-70 mins walk.

Nice and quiet small park in the middle of Tokyo. For those who are looking for a brief getaway from city vibe, this place is the go-to. The park was very beautiful, and well maintained. There was a small lake in the middle with a few bridges and brooks in the park that creates a great contrast with plants. We came in Autumn so the foliage is really mesmerising.

Koishikawa Korakuen Garden is a serene and picturesque landscape garden that dates back to the 17th century. It features walking paths, a pond, and bridges, creating a tranquil atmosphere for visitors. The garden was constructed during the Edo Period by Yorifusa Tokugawa and completed by Mitsukuni. Its design includes elements evoking Chinese scenery and famous locations throughout Japan.
An ancient Japanese garden located near Tokyo Dome, this expansive garden not only features a wide variety of plants but also many historical ruins. It’s a great place for walking and photography, and it also holds rich educational value. However, there are lots of mosquitoes here, so when visiting, be sure to wear long pants or apply insect repellent 😅😅😅
Eric L — Google review
The entrance fee is 300 yen, which is reasonable for a visit. The garden is well-maintained and features several historical markers scattered throughout, offering insights into its past. There are restrooms, shaded areas, and benches that make it a comfortable place to stroll or rest. While the garden is pleasant and peaceful, it didn’t quite stand out to me compared to others I’ve visited in Japan. Perhaps it was the lack of visible wildlife—aside from a few birds, some lizards, and a couple of pale fish, I didn’t see much. No turtles, which I’ve come to enjoy spotting in many Japanese gardens. Still, if you're nearby, it's definitely worth a stop. It's a calm and clean space with historical charm, even if it wasn't my personal favorite
Arman K — Google review
Garden is quite small but very well designed. You can have some tea and snacks in old style tea house, enjoy tranquil lake view or take a walk around area. Place is famous for plum blossoms, but I think there is enough to see every season.

Among my favorite gardens in Tokyo -- classic Edo-era stroll garden, beautifully maintained and serene as can be. The restaurant at the West Gate offers on-site meals with a view overlooking the garden, take-away bentos at lunch, and changes to a teahouse later in the day. Entry into the garden is a little difficult to find if coming from the north (just keep folloing along the white wall) -- there's a west and east point of entry at the southern end of the garden.

It's probably lovely here during hanami. I visited (both by choice and chance, when I randomly got on the Toden-Arakawa tram line) during the end of spring. Flowers have pretty much fallen from the trees but I loved having a walk around. It was a pleasant place to have a breather and there were a lot of people out for some morning exercise. The free mini monorail was nice.

The park is not very big but nice. It contains three museums (of which the Paper Museum is the most interesting one),=an open-air stage (I attained an amateur show of very enthusiastic aged people and schoolgirls (from a junior school), very lively!); here is a kids' playground with a climbing hill/slide, and exhibits of an old streetcar s a steam locomotive which kids can climb. Of course there are toilets. Also, the park boasts fountains – and very likely THE shortest funicular monorail in the world (free)! Not a must-see bur definitely worth visiting if you're around.

Koganei Park is the perfect place for anyone who fancies flowers, wide open spaces, a leisurely stroll, or even a bit of history. Its proximity to downtown Tokyo makes it a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. I visited this park today for hanami with some good friends. It's about a 30 to 35-minute bike ride away from where I live (Higashikurume), but it is also easily accessible via train or bus. Koganei Park features spacious grassy areas, which serve as a perfect spot for picnic and games. A children's playground complete with various amenities (swings, slides, small zip-lines, sledding hill, etc.) are also available, which are sure to entice kids and kids-at-heart alike. And of course, the famous sakura trees in full bloom elevate the place into a captivating view. There are sakura trees in most parts of the park, but they are mostly concentrated on the left and right sides facing the museum. Benches, public washrooms, and a snack house with vending machines are also available, so you surely have everything you will ever need for fun and comfort if ever you get to visit. The park is a must-see in any season of the year, but it shouldn't be missed when the sakura are in full bloom at the peak of spring!⁸

A delightful surprise when we arrived in Tokyo and went for a stroll. We weren't sure if the cherry blossom was blooming or that this moment had already passed because of the reports we saw online. But when we turned the corner we were in for a lovely surprise! Two long rows of blossom in almost full bloom! And other trees scattered around the cemetery as well. What seems like a strange location for visitors is a gem of a location in the backyard of Omotesando. And this is especially true during the bountiful bloom of Hanami or the ambrosial beauty of Fall. I only ever come here early hours of the am and it is always peaceful. The central spine of the cemetery is lined with a military like parade of Sakura trees and they are a worthy front row to the beauty of the national Japanese flower. Stay a while, enjoy the breeze and the Sakura snow or potter around to pay respects to its famous inhabitants, or even have a picnic and beer Japanese style on a tarpaulin in a cozy corner under the trees. You won’t regret the journey 2025 update- the bloom has just began and should be gorgeous by the start of April

Chidorigafuchi Park, located in the northwest of the Imperial Palace, is a picturesque spot with around 260 cherry trees blooming along a 700-meter-long pedestrian path. The park offers vibrant spring cherry blossoms reflected in the water of the palace moat. Visitors can rent rowboats for a romantic sakura viewing experience under the overhanging branches of the trees.
Although the park is located a bit far from the city center, the distance is well worth it. One of the things I appreciated most was that it wasn’t overly crowded, which made the whole experience feel more peaceful and enjoyable. Out of all the parks I visited in Tokyo, this one easily had the most stunning scenery—lush greenery, serene water views, and beautifully maintained landscapes that felt almost like stepping into a painting. The air was noticeably fresh and clean, adding to the overall sense of calm. I highly recommend trying the boating experience here—it was both relaxing and fun, offering a unique way to take in the natural beauty of the park. It’s definitely a hidden gem and a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Chidorigafuchi is hands down our ultimate favorite sakura spot! 🌸💖 Nowhere else in Tokyo is more beautiful than Chidorigafuchi! Another lucky coincidence that we came here on the last day of the sakura festival, as there weren't that many people. We planned to come here a week before, but it was raining for days. Good thing we waited for that beautiful, sunny day. Definitely coming back here in the future. Tips: - The best route is from the exit of Kudanshita Station. - There are approximately 1,000 sakura trees. According to their billboard, you can donate to the park if you want to help protect these poor trees from the effects of climate change. - According to the signs, you can't use tripod. - The line for the boat is already long when we passed by at 8am. They start operations at 9am. - Night lights turn on from sunset to 10pm.

Sakura Walkway by the River🌸🛶🦆 • A peaceful spot for a seasonal walk during cherry blossom time! • Be sure to check the weather—sunny days enhance the atmosphere significantly. • While the overall view is pleasant, there are only a few standout spots for photos. Most sections of the path look quite similar, so don’t expect a wide variety of scenic points. Still worth a visit if you’re nearby and enjoy sakura strolls.
Napat W — Google review
We visited during cherry blossom season, and it was absolutely beautiful. I’m not sure what it’s like the rest of the year, but our experience at that time was amazing. You can’t reserve boat tickets in advance (at least not that I saw), so it’s first come, first served. We waited in line to get a scheduled time and were lucky to get a slot just 45 minutes out—which was great! We had expected to wait much longer, possibly even needing to return in the evening. My tip: arrive early and have a few other things planned nearby so you can adjust based on what time slot you get. Even if you don’t end up boating, the area itself is gorgeous and definitely worth a visit.

Though the cherry blossom peak has passed, a few beautiful blooms remain. Many people are already out running by 6 am.

Personally I preferred this area over Ueno for cherry blossom viewing. There is a long stretch of trees along the path you can walk under. Unlike Ueno where the street is wide, over here you are walking on the sidewalk covered by cherry blossom trees overhead.

This one is another beautiful park to visit in Tokyo to view Cherry blossom. Visited it on 7th April afternoon. The view of Cherry blossom along the Hanzo moat was simply magical. From the park, the path leading to the Imperial Palace east garden is a nice walk and in the evenings the cherry blossom glowing in the light is another unforgettable experience. Even without cherry blossom the walk along the moat in the evening is quite nice.

Mountains
Mount Takao, also known as Takaosan, is a 599-meter-tall peak located within an hour of Shinjuku station in Tokyo. It has been a pilgrimage site for over 1,200 years and offers a mix of traditional Japanese culture and natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, a funicular railway, and the opportunity to visit the Yakuo-in temple. The summit provides stunning views of Tokyo and Mount Fuji on clear days.
I highly recommend coming out to this mountain it offers a perfect mix of natural beauty, peaceful hiking, and cultural exploration. The views from various points are absolutely stunning, and you’ll come across several gorgeous shrines along the trails that are well worth stopping at. There's also a charming little suspension bridge that adds to the overall charm. The mountain has multiple trail options, all falling in the easy to medium range in terms of difficulty. None of them are intense, and many are shaded, making them a great choice even in the summer heat. There are also plenty of rest spots, vending machines scattered along the way, and small eating areas where you can grab a quick snack or cool drink. One of the best features is the choice between taking a cable car or a chairlift. I personally suggest doing one on the way up and the other on the way down, so you get to experience both. I especially loved the chairlift coming down—it gave a breezy, peaceful end to the hike. Just note that if you go early in the morning, the chairlifts might not be operating yet, so starting with the cable car may be your best option. Another important tip: chairlift stop running at 16:30 so plan accordingly if you're heading up later in the day. All in all, this mountain is a 10 out of 10 for me. It’s a perfect morning hike that offers incredible views, peaceful shrines, and multiple ways to tailor your experience depending on your mood and pace. A must-visit.

The perfect plan for those who like nature and enjoy walking….it’s only 1 hour outside Tokyo and a lot of things to see and eat there. We decided to take the trail 1 (the easiest) to go up and took the lift in our way down! But the cable car is also available.

Beautiful payoff for what amounts to be a 45 minute walk. Paved paths with excellent three color leaves during fall (November 2025). Some crowds but manageable. The secret to getting the coveted photo is to ensure that Mount Fuji shows clear or lightly clouded skies before hiking up here. I have some examples of potential photos below.

Absolutely take an autumnal break here from Tokyo. Simple to get to by train, less than 90 mins. Either hike or pop up Mt Takao on a funicular or chairlift. Then walk around the environment seeing all the shrines and temple. Reserve lunch with the monks and get your goishon before 4pm. Come down and spend time in the onsen at the train station. Fabulous and so doable in the day.

The park features large areas of cherry trees and wide lawns perfect for picnicking. It also offers playgrounds, baseball fields, soccer pitches, and cycling courses for outdoor and sports enthusiasts. Additionally, the park hosts kamado (stove bench) that can be used during emergencies.

Amazing park. They have a 1mi running track as well which is beautiful and covered from the sun. It’s an amazing place to see the cherry blossoms as there are very few tourists. In the morning you can see the locals so the “radio taikai” exercise together as well as Tai chi. The range of flowers is amazing and you can enjoy bird watching. There’s a lot to do and there is a store in the middle.

One of the best park for Hanami!! There are also food trucks and hot food inside the park. If you would like to get food from outside, there are Fast food shop and supermarket near by. Good location. you can ride your bike there too, there are plenty of bike parking.

A nice park with different activities. Nice to take a walk or go for a cycle. If you've never been on a suspension bridge before it's worth the experience. There is also an art museum located inside the park. Anyone interested in Japan's foliage can see Cherry Blossom trees in the spring and Ginko trees in the fall.
Sam G — Google review
This large park is has large cherry blossom trees but is also beautiful other times of year. There’s space for my kids to ride scooters, running paths, and picnic blankets. There is a brand new large playground that will open after the national emergency ends.

A nice place to walk around. Came around noon on weekday, there are some people having hanami, but it is not crowded. Some of the Sakura trees are in full bloom. Not all. Pretty and calming.

The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, located on the inner east grounds of the Imperial Palaces in Tokyo, offer a vast historical landmark reminiscent of New York's Central Park. Despite being near bustling Tokyo Station, the gardens provide a peaceful oasis with large landscaped areas and remnants of Edo Castle's defense structures. In a city where green spaces are limited due to urbanization, these gardens serve as valuable outdoor space for urban residents.
There are extensive grounds, that are well maintained, that you can walk through. You could easily spend an hour or two just walking the entire grounds. That being said, there are not a lot of flowers in this garden. Our group was kind of looking forward to seeing some flower gardens, but there were no major ones. There are some benches. There are some rest areas near the bathrooms.
Jim C — Google review
It is a historical garden in the Tokyo Imperial Palace. The gardens were first used by the Tokugawa shogunate. The garden was built on the grounds of Edo Castle. The building of the modern gardens began in 1961. The garden is over 210,000 square metres. The garden was completed in 1968. Gardens are well maintained and lovely blooms and manicured trees. Popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Picturesque place. Must see place. Uneven terrain, lots of walking. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Great place for photography
S V — Google review
So well manicured. I’m guessing the gardeners here are an elite team working for the palace. Both my hubby and I loved the trees, the lawn, the fruit trees to name a few. Never fail to amaze us. We spent a total of 3 hours there and forgot the sun existed. We were hot, sweaty and exhausted when we finished. But…we were very happy.
Teresa Y — Google review
Very beautiful! It was closed certain areas but we walked around the palace and still can enjoy it. There was a lot of security which I noticed with the imperial palace throughout Japan to enter they do inspection on bags, very nice. There is also a very pretty stamp inside a souvenir shop :)

I visited on my last day before heading back to the airport. Definitely a great place to visit and wrap up a vacation trip. Calm, beautiful yet full of energy. A must see in Tokyo that is down the street from Tokyo station.
Nelson M — Google review
An amazing variety of plant life, if that's what you are interested in! There are signs explaining what each plant is. I spent a few hours looking and learning about each one.
Austin H — Google review
Maybe we were here during the wrong season, because i was not very impressed with the park. It was nice, and peaceful, but also felt bare and empty. We were lucky because we got to hear, and sort of see (by peeking through the bushes) that there was a police training in one of the buildings of the park. What I like about this park is that it reminds me in certain aspects of Central Park in New York. I say this because the park is in the middle of the city.
Rosalie C — Google review
Expect lots of walking especially since we just went to the free entrance after security. Very serene, but lots of tourists. The shops were cute and there are enough bathrooms everywhere. Overall, if you’re looking for a place to just look at nature amidst this concrete jungle - this is it.

Scenic spot
Chidorigafuchi Moat, located in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward, is a picturesque spot known for its rich history and natural beauty. It offers an immersive experience in Japanese culture, especially during the cherry blossom season. The moat's 700-meter-long greenway features around 260 cherry trees that create a stunning tunnel of blossoms over the water, perfect for capturing memorable photos. Visitors can also enjoy boat rentals along the moat, adding to the romantic atmosphere during springtime.
The most beautiful place/garden to see Sakura in Tokyo. Starting the amazing walking from Kudenchita station, you will find Sakura trees on both side of the canal were in full bloom always near the end of March. It even better to Sakura in the afternoon. The Sakura and its showdow in the canal produces a natural attractive picture. Some Sakura branches are inclined to touch the water. People are rowing the small boats under the trees. What a beautiful picture ! Don't rush when you are visiting Chidorgafuchi Moat, better to rent a boat for half a day with your friends or next half. Don't miss the night time Sakura visitation. The atmosphere is totally different. Lights are everywhere along the canal and under the tree. It normal starts to light up at 7 pm and ends at 10pm.
Jacob L — Google review
Beautiful little boat ride. Would have loved to see it in cherry blossom season! We went during the day, so while we missed out on the nighttime lanterns, we were able to skip any crowds.
Amy M — Google review
Chidorigafuchi Moat surrounds the northern and western sides of the Imperial Palace grounds, forming part of the outer defense system of the former Edo Castle. The moat stretches from the Kitanomaru Park area to the Hanzomon Gate area, offering picturesque views along its banks. One of the most famous features of Chidorigafuchi Moat is its cherry blossom trees, which line the banks of the waterway. During cherry blossom season, usually in late March to early April, the trees burst into bloom, creating a stunning display of pink and white blossoms. Visitors can rent rowboats to paddle along the tranquil waters, offering a unique perspective of the cherry blossoms and surrounding scenery. Boat rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the rental facilities located near the moat. During peak times such as cherry blossom season or weekends, there may be high demand for boat rentals, which could result in long queues or wait times. In such cases, it's advisable to arrive early in the day to secure a spot or be prepared to wait in line.
Y. T — Google review
Chidorigafuchi Moat is one of the most famous spots for seeing Sakura Blossom in Tokyo. The Sakura trees are planted along the two sides of the Hirakawa Moat. Visitors can either walk along the side of the moat or rent a boat to enjoy the view from the water. At night, they have set up beautiful light effects that show another type of beauty of those Sakura. However, it can be extremely crowded during Sakura Blossom season like late March.
Javin Y — Google review
If you are coming here for Nightviewing of Sakura, bring a lot patience ☺️ as it gets crowded but still orderly because police assistance. Its really nice to see the sakura 🌸 when its illuminated. Just take a nice photo and leave as soon as you can. There are lot of nice sakura nights spots in Tokyo with lesser crowd 😉
PinoyGaijin T — Google review
Sakura trees were blooming late this year and they stopped illuminating the section at night April 2nd as per to the website .We went specifically the 5th and it was all dark
Bella — Google review
As you check my photos, it is empty here right but it will not be the same case during Sakura and other events. Here they will do the light up during boating, it will be a kind of romantic eve with your partner. Note that pre-booking is must as far as I know, so check once before you going. It will be usually crowded during a event, so if you wanna book, do it before when it is available.

Visited at tail end of flowering on 1st week of April. Nevertheless, still lovely to sit along trail that runs along the upper bank that’s in the Kitanomaru Park side, overlooking the moat.

Hamarikyu Gardens is a public park located on the site of a 17th-century Shogun villa, featuring an Edo-period style layout with a pond. Situated along the Sumida River, visitors can enjoy views of Tokyo Skytree from nearby Sumida Park and take a short walk or cruise to Hamarikyu Garden and Odaiba Island. This garden was meticulously designed over time by successive shoguns, drawing seawater from Tokyo Bay.
Great park, right next to the seawater. In fact the ponds inside are full with sea water drawn directly from the bay area. You can enjoy the piece and awesome trees and plans for a nice walk. Don’t miss it out if you enjoy a small escapes from the urban area, I will define it as a green paradise in the middle of sky skyscrapers. Plus you can find some pretty cool stamps on the entrance

One of my favourite gardens in Tokyo, we visited it during a non-busy period of the year. It was delightful. Enjoy your matcha at the tea house facing the pond.

What a splendid place to spend the afternoon! Strolling the grounds, exploring every nook and cranny. I spent a few hours here one spring afternoon after eating a great omakase lunch. This was the perfect place to burn off some extra calories, wandering the paths. It was an equally enjoyable place to enjoy a nice little siesta underneath one of the many trees that provide shade in this beautiful park. If you’re into green spaces, I highly recommend a visit! Can’t wait to come back 🤗

Beautiful traditional gardens that used to be the falcon hunting grounds of the Shogun. Compared to Shinjuku Gardens, Hamariku has more beautiful water features, including bridges and a tea shop over water. There's something to see in every season - plum blossoms in February, cherry blossoms in March, wisteria in April, as well as a season flower garden planted with rotating varieties year round. The garden also hosts seasonal and cultural celebrations. The garden tends to be quiet most days (certainly compared to Shinjuku Gardens). The open picnic areas are recommended for families with kids looking for a place to run around in the grass.

Beautiful gardens, one of my favourite places in Tokyo for sure! Very well kept and just gorgeous. It was a lovely day today and the gardens were very peaceful. Highly recommended. I payed 300 yen but the combo ticket saves you 50 yen if you wish to visit the Kyu Shiba Rikyu gardens as well (also worth a visit). Just lovely!

A pleasant, peaceful garden near the center of Tokyo. The entrance fee is cheap and there are toilets, enough space to sit outside and drinking water on site. A great place for relax combined with admiring nature and historic garden.
Radek B — Google review
Hamarikyū Gardens is one of Tokyo’s most historically layered landscapes, a former 17th-century coastal residence of the Tokugawa shōguns where an Edo-period garden, a rare saltwater tidal pond and the modern skyline of Shiodome coexist in a single, coherent space. Created as a seaside villa and hunting ground, the estate was designed around the shioiri-no-ike, the only remaining tidal pond in Tokyo that still rises and falls with the rhythms of Tokyo Bay. The surrounding fields once hosted falconry demonstrations for the shōgun’s court, while the garden itself was shaped by black pines that remain among the oldest in the city, including the 300-year-old Sanbyakunen-no-Matsu. During the Meiji era the property became part of the Imperial estate; heavily damaged in 1945, it was reopened to the public the following year. Today Hamarikyū still reflects classical aesthetics such as borrowed scenery, intentionally framing the glass towers of Shiodome as part of the garden’s composition. Visiting the garden feels like stepping briefly outside the pace of the city. Walking across the tidal pond’s long wooden bridge toward Nakajima-no-Ochaya, the teahouse on the water, you notice how the garden filters sound and light: the soft creak of wood, the wind in the pines, the reflections shifting on the surface. From the small hill Ochin’yama, the garden opens in layers — the Edo-period composition of water and pines, the quiet interior of the park itself, and behind it the vertical lines of Shiodome. The contrast is deliberate and gives the garden a clarity that is rare in central Tokyo. I arrived at Hamarikyū by river boat from Asakusa, which is an excellent option: the ticket is 1,180 yen and includes the garden entrance fee (300 yen), so the actual cost of the cruise is only 880 yen.

Yasukuni Jinja, situated in Kudankita, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, is a Shinto shrine honoring the souls of Japanese military personnel who perished in conflicts and wars since the Meiji era. The shrine pays tribute to approximately 2,466,000 spirits who sacrificed their lives for Japan.
Founded by Emperor Meiji in June 1869 to commemorate those who died in service for Japan. The shrine contains names of almost 2,5 million men including one thousand war criminals there of whom 12 were charged with class A crimes. Because of this controversy the last two emperors never visited the shrine. There's also a military museum adjacent to the shrine.

A beautiful and vast shrine with a presence. The large tori gate greeting you as you enter the shrine makes this temple unique among the temple in Tokyo. When you enter the temple, you are greeted with a large public area with many sections to explore. Going near the end of the day is unique as you get to see the sun setting over the tori gate and the temple.

It's beautiful. The shrine is dedicated to the respect of all those who died fighting for Japan from the Meiji Era onward. There is the shrine proper, the Yushukan a museum to preserve the memory of the kami, an archive, a beautiful garden and several monuments. The shrine is very important and there is a lot of people there during the day. The best time to be there is very early in the morning.

Very big temple with - parking, vending machines, museum, food stalls and largely many festivals and ceremonies held very frequently. One of the best places to visit and experience the difference - pleasant and lively location with lot of Ginko trees and tree shades to beat the heat while in summer, beat the cold with fantastic views in winter, thrilling views during autumn with the color changes … a place one should never miss.

Very beautiful and peaceful place. They were doing construction before an event so there was scaffolding, but even that was pretty. Inside the museum is a nice gift shop and a pretty public toilet. Quick note, if you want to take a photo of the shrine, take it from the side near the gravel (or the guard will politely remind you).

Very beautiful shrine. The yearly Mitama Matsuri is a must see in Tokyo. Japanese people honor the spirits of the dead on these days. The shrine is decorated with 30,000 lanterns during this time.

This place is a sacred place for Japan. The spirits of the dead of Japanese solders from ww2 are deified here since the end of the war. They devoted themselves to their sweet homeland. Respect here and never be impolite. You all can come here! This is open for everyone and good park with greens! There are huge gate and Shrine. You would feel very sacred atmosphere! You can buy fortune stuffs here. And there are museum for Japanese ancestors who devoted themselves to Japan!!!

Yanaka Cemetery is a hilly burial ground adorned with cherry trees and the final resting place of famous artists and actors. The area can be explored from either exit without missing any major attractions. Starting from the north exit, visitors can ascend Goten-zaka and descend into Yanaka Ginza, a narrow shopping street at the heart of the community's activity.
Normally most japanese cemeteries seem to be walled or fenced off inside some temple but this is just out there in the open and its massive in scale. Honestly feels like another random park/garden you would encounter in the city but its just a graveyard. Extremely peaceful and quiet, I heard there used to be many cats around but I didnt get to see a single one which was a big letdown but tons of birds everywhere. Of you happen to be in the Ueno area I would recommend walking through the park up towards the National Museum and then past the cemetery to hit Yanaka Ginza.

Fascinating & interesting place to visit. An easy walk and plenty of shade trees, but very few places to sit. Watch out for the crows, they are prone to swoop, just like magpies! Recommend a visit, even if your transiting from one location to the next.

Really Good - it is always a bit weird visiting a cemetery when overseas; but we do find them interesting and a good insight into the culture of where we might be at the time. And this place was very good - you find it on the way to the Asakura Museum. It is a rather large cemetery, which is well cared for and in a beautiful setting. It was terrific to simply wander around the small paths that crisscross this area.

One of the best streets in Tokyo to visit during Sakura Season (Cherry Blossoms) without any tourist! The cementery itself looks awesome also, beautiful scenery and has clean public restrooms. One of my best highlight in Tokyo regarding the Cherry Blossoms and the low quantity of people walking by.

While a cemetery isn’t the first thing most people would think of as a place to visit, this is a great place to stop if you were already planning on going to Taito for something else like the ginza shopping street. The cemetery is very pretty, quiet, and the random cats are actually pretty friendly (with how well fed they looked, they probably weren’t feral cats). If you are already in the area and looking for something unique to do for an hour or so, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Koishikawa Botanical Garden, also known as Koishikawa Shokubutsuen, is a serene and picturesque botanical garden operated by the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Science. It features a stunning Japanese landscape garden and an extensive collection of plant and tree species, including various types of cherry trees. This makes it a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing without the large crowds found at other locations during peak season.
Super lovely garden in just 10min from Hakusan station. Now it is higanbana season so there is a chance to make a beautiful pictures. There is almost no people in the early morning hours. I noticed a lot of different trees and plants for every season. I think picnic durring autumn foilage time and plum/sakura seasons will be superb! Yokozuna-sized cat can meet you by the entrance if you are lucky enough.

Koishikawa Botanical Gardens is a true hidden oasis in Tokyo. Its most notable feature is its immense size and surprising tranquility. Unlike crowded spots such as Shinjuku Gyoen, the grounds remain refreshingly peaceful, even on busy holiday weekends. It is an ideal location for quiet contemplation and reading; just bring a picnic sheet and a good book for a perfectly serene afternoon. The garden’s rich botanical diversity, including a fantastic greenhouse, ensures it is a rewarding place to visit throughout all four seasons. You will never get bored exploring the paths. Frankly, this garden is so special that I consider it my personal, secret power-charging spot. It's the perfect sanctuary to escape the city noise and reconnect with nature. Don't miss this beautiful, quiet gem.

Tokyo Midtown is a luxurious retail complex in Minato City, offering upscale shops, diverse restaurants, art galleries, and a spacious green area. Additionally, it is part of the Special Zone for Asian Headquarters initiative by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to attract foreign companies with various benefits.
Tokyo Midtown is a high end shopping center and business park with many shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s very foreigner friendly. The nearby green space is great place to relax. Highly recommended for a family or corporate stay. It’s more expensive than other areas but also more convenient. Tradeoffs of travel, right?

These illuminations are so so beautiful✨ The staffs told us not to stop, but most people tried to take pictures. I thought that illumination without being gazed is nonsense, so what the staffs required is weird. If you use a wide angle, you can take nice photos. However, there are too many people, so other people would appear in the photo, which is not good.

Chidorigafuchi is a picturesque haven that captivates visitors with its gently sloping hill adorned in vibrant pink cherry blossoms, creating a stunning backdrop against the tranquil moat of the Imperial Gardens. The serene waters invite boaters to glide along, offering enchanting views of petals dancing in the breeze. This beautiful park is not only a feast for the eyes but also serves as a popular route for joggers who relish the seasonal blooms and scenic paths that enhance their daily runs.
On the first Saturday of April, we visited the world-renowned Chidorigafuchi, where cherry blossoms were in full, glorious bloom. The experience was nothing short of magical! Despite the crowds, the event was remarkably well-organized, allowing everyone to soak in the beauty. The air was fragrant with the sweet scent of blossoms, and a palpable sense of springtime joy radiated through the crowd. On this delightful day, life felt brimming with hope and renewal. Chidorigafuchi in peak bloom is an unforgettable celebration of nature’s splendor.

It’s probably the last week to enjoy the full bloom Sakura so even it’s a weekday a lot of people showed up. Since it’s world famous both tourists and locals were like half proportioned. I didn’t plan to visit since over tourism are really getting it’s peak. But since I was in the area just wanted to refresh my memory. Since its crowdness sometimes it made walking a bit harder. And because it closed off some areas making a picture of good angle impossible.

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape right in the heart of Tokyo, Chidorigafuchi Green Way is a must-visit. As a Local Guide, I’ve explored many scenic paths, but this one stands out for its seasonal charm and well-maintained trails. Stretching along the Imperial Palace moat, this walkway is especially breathtaking during cherry blossom season (late March to early April). The sakura trees form a stunning pink canopy over the path, and the reflection on the calm water creates a dreamlike scene — perfect for both photography and quiet contemplation. Even outside of hanami season, the greenery, clean benches, and subtle lighting make it a relaxing walk. The route is flat and accessible, suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. There are clear signs in English and Japanese, and the nearby Kudanshita and Hanzomon stations make it easy to reach. Early morning or late afternoon is best to avoid crowds. What I appreciate most is how it blends urban life with nature — you’re surrounded by history, yet feel completely at peace. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, Chidorigafuchi Green Way offers a short but meaningful nature escape in the middle of Tokyo.

Celebrated for its amazing cherry blossoms and energetic ambiance, the Chiyoda City Sakura Festival is a much awaited yearly event in Tokyo. Driven around the 700-meter Chidori-ga-fuchi Green Way, a route lined with rich sakura trees, the celebration provides guests with a lovely backdrop to savor the ephemeral beauty of the blossoms. The evening cherry blossom illumination of the celebration is one of its best aspects. Energy-efficient solar-powered LED lights softly illumine the blossoms as evening falls, producing a wonderful environment that enthralls those who pass beneath the lit canopy. This environmentally friendly method not only improves the visual experience but also captures Chiyoda City's dedication to sustainability. Renting rowboats at the Chidori-ga-fuchi Boating Station offers guests an unusual viewpoint. Particularly during the late evening hours when the lighted flowers reflect off the water's surface, gliding over the moat under the overhanging cherry branches provides a private and peaceful experience. High demand means that arriving early for same-day tickets is essential; alternatively, you might choose to reserve through the official website ahead of time. Apart from Chidori-ga-fuchi, the celebration covers other famous landmarks in Chiyoda Ward. For example, the cherry trees of Yasukuni Shrine are well-known; the benchmark tree used to announce Tokyo's s Sakura bloom Under the flowers, guests may enjoy gourmet food trucks providing a range of delicacies to relish on the grounds of the temple, which are available for bloom viewing. If you want to really appreciate the event, think about going on weekday mornings when traffic is less and a more peaceful experience is possible. The Chiyoda City Sakura Festival provides a classic hanami experience that wonderfully captures the essence of spring in Tokyo, whether your interests are in seeing neighboring cherry blossom sites, riding a boat on the moat, or seeing the lit flowers along the Green Way

Scenic spot
Chidorigafuchi is a must-visit destination for cherry blossom enthusiasts in Tokyo, renowned for its stunning beauty. Stroll along the 700-meter path that hugs the Imperial Palace moat, where you'll find an array of cherry trees in full bloom. This enchanting spot attracts both locals and tourists alike, so be prepared for bustling crowds during sakura season.
(Translated by Google) [Floating punch at Chidorigafuchi] There are a lot of people during the cherry blossom season. Speaking of cherry blossoms, this year we went to Chidorigafuchi and along the Bank of Japan. You can take good photos from the Showakan building, which is just around the corner. I especially recommend Kudan Kaikan (registered tangible cultural property) and Budokan, as there are spots where you can take pictures of the cherry blossoms. Some people improvised sketches and everyone had fun in their own way. It's a good place to visit at least once. The current Chidorigafuchi and Hanzo Moats were originally one moat, but were separated in 1901 due to road construction on Daikancho Street, resulting in the current structure. The name Chidorigafuchi is said to have come from the V-shaped moat's resemblance to a plover. As part of the former Edo Castle, it was designated a Special Historic Site, "Edo Castle Ruins," under the Cultural Properties Protection Act in 1963. Regarded as one of Tokyo's leading cherry blossom viewing spots, it is the most beloved of the inner moats surrounding the Imperial Palace. The cherry blossom-lined Chidorigafuchi Greenway, lined with Somei-Yoshino cherry trees planted in the 1950s, continues to this day, attracting many visitors every year during the flowering season from late March to early April. Chidorigafuchi Green Way is a 700-meter pedestrian promenade along the moat of the Imperial Palace, just a short walk from Subway Kudanshita Station. This area was historically used as a dam during the Edo period to provide water. It's known for its beautiful parks with hundreds of cherry blossom trees, making it an ideal spot for hanami cherry blossom viewing.

Situated near the Imperial Palace and surrounded by bustling districts, the park offers lush gardens, seasonal blooms, and a Japanese garden. Visitors can enjoy flower beds, outdoor music venues, public halls as well as beautifully maintained lawns and ponds.
Peaceful, Stunning and Calm. Was a nice way to get out of the busy city environment and sit down and relax. There’s a rich history about the park itself where you can read about at various signposts scattered around while enjoying the tranquility!

Gorgeous priceless jewel of a park. In the autumn when the leaves turn, you can just sit on one of the numerous benches take it all in. I love that it’s not crowded and that it is right next to the Hibiya library (English books are on the 2nd floor). There is a Tully coffee shop and a couple of restaurants inside the park. One of my favorite spots in Tokyo. It’s off the beaten track enough.

Such an amazing place to go for a picnic with friends and it's also a good place to make friends as well. Everyone is open to chat. The humidity was high but worth all the time we spent there. Sumida River, a significant location in Japanese history and popular culture, is home to the annual Sumida River Fireworks Festival. This event has its roots in the Water God Festival dating back to 1733, originally held to honor those who perished from famine and plague. The river was historically used for transporting goods during the Edo period and remains a popular tourist destination today.
Sitting by the river at night was such a peaceful experience 🌙 The views are breathtaking, especially with the cityscape in the background. It’s the perfect spot for a leisurely walk, or, honestly, any kind of relaxing activity. Whether you're looking to unwind or capture some beautiful photos, the Sumida River is a must-visit.

Day or night, sunny or rainy, the view is gorgeous! We highly recommend allotting two days and two nights to be able to explore the entirety of this very long walkway and see different sights of the cherry blossoms and Tokyo Skytree. Breathing in some fresh air and watching boats pass by while taking a stroll is so relaxing. We would love to come back here. Tip: Lanterns light up from 6:30pm to 9pm. It's worth enduring the cold for the spectacular night scenery.

A short walk from Sensoji temple is another city attraction, the Sumida Park River Gallery a scenic urban oasis along the Sumida River. This place offers both locals and tourists an escape from the city’s busy pace with a mind blowing unique refreshments. The park is renowned for its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring, which transform the riverside walkways into a soft, pink landscape that’s perfect for flower viewing (hanami). Alongside the natural beauty, the park also a river cruise to enjoy the landmarks in a different perspective. This river part features curated art installations and structures, creating a unique blend of nature and urban culture. The "River Gallery" concept allows visitors to engage with art while enjoying the park's serene environment. The views of the Tokyo Skytree are breathtaking, especially at sunset when the city’s lights begin to reflect on the water. Besides its aesthetics, the park has been designed thoughtfully with seating areas, clean pathways, and small open-air cafes, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and social gatherings. Overall, Sumida Park River Gallery is an excellent blend of nature, art, and urban design, offering a peaceful retreat with a cultural edge in the heart of Tokyo. Spare some time here to experience the uniqueness of the japanese way of life

Gorgeous scenery when you make it all the way up to the outlook area. The walk can be tough, definitely prepare for the weather because you will get extremely hot climbing the 400+ steps up the mountain. Japan humidity is insane. Felt so lucky to see Mount Fuji so clearly on this day.

Going up was like hell. I’m not that fit, and those stairs really destroyed me. I had to catch my breath with every step I took. But once I got to the top, the view was absolutely mesmerizing. There was a big cloud covering Mount Fuji at first, so I waited and waited until the sky finally cleared. I’m glad I did, because after putting in all that effort, I didn’t want to just stare at clouds, lol. In the end, I’m really happy I made it up there and got to enjoy such a beautiful view.

I took the most iconic photo of Mt. Fuji in Arakurayama Sengen Park, and a real sense of accomplishment hit me after my eight day trip to Sapporo, Osaka, Nara, and Kobe. Seeing Mt. Fuji in real life felt like the icing on the cake of my Japan trip. Surprisingly, it is not only the view of the pagoda that is amazing. The park itself is stunning, with beautiful autumn leaves. In my opinion, it rivals the autumn colors in Hokkaido. The park can get busy, so it is best to arrive before the tour groups, preferably before 8:00 am. The photo area near the pavilion can be crowded, so do not expect to have it to yourself. From Kawaguchiko Station, take the local train to Shimoyoshida Station, then walk for about ten minutes. The pavilion is accessible after climbing roughly 400 steps. Highly recommended.

Iconic view of Mount Fuji and Chureito Pagoda! Arakurayama Sengen Park is breathtaking, especially during cherry blossom season. The iconic view of the red Chureito Pagoda with Mount Fuji in the background is unforgettable and perfect for photography. The park is well-maintained, peaceful, and offers a lovely walk up the stairs with scenic spots along the way. A must-visit for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone wanting the classic Mount Fuji experience!

Early morning visit yo snap some photos of Fuji-San along with the ever popular Instagram snap of having Chureito Pagoda in the foreground and Miunt Fuji at the back. Weather was good this morning. Happy with my snaps. 😊 Note… It’s quite a walk up to the observation deck.

Described by the Japan National Tourism Organization as “A vividly hued park with an unbeatable view of Mt. Fuji”, it does precisely that provided the weather conditions permit. We came here last October 24. The day started rainy then cloudy. As the day progressed, the sun peeped a bit. Unfortunately, throughout these changes, Mt Fuji remained shy. We just had to content ourselves with some photo ops. There are 2 ways to climb to the top-one is an uphill slope while the other is through the stairs. Either choice, be sure to stop once in a while to appreciate the lush green surroundings and the cool, clean, crisp air. Climbing up and going down tickled our appetite so we bought some hot and sweet potato snacks. Fruits like grapes, oranges and apples were being sold at the bottom, too. Word of caution: The climb might be too taxing for seniors, persons with mobility issues and/or or people not used to walking uphill/climbing many flights of stairs. I personally enjoyed the hike that came with the view

Honestly, a great view for Mt. Fuji viewing. However, lots of tourists takes you away from the mindset that you're going to visit shrines that are sacred to the Japanese. Also, beware the food places. Because of the heavy number of tourists, the prices of the food and parking have shot up relative to the average costs you see in the cities of Tokyo or Osaka. Make sure to bring food from a kombini if you don't want to spend inflated prices for fries or takoyaki at the food stands.
Enrico P — Google review
The place itself is of unparalleled beauty. I visited during Autumn and the colours of the Maple Corridor were surreal. The market is like any average tourist trap worldwide. Bad food, sketchy souvenirs, absurd prices. Highly recommended as a stop, once in a lifetime experience

Omiya Park is a 68-hectare city park located approximately 1km from JR Omiya Station. It boasts a stunning Japanese Red Pine forest and is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring. The park, established in the 18th year of the Meiji era, features over 100-year-old red pine trees that create a striking contrast with the delicate pink cherry blossoms. Visitors can also explore a shrine and zoo within the park's vast grounds.
Absolutely stunning that such a quiet and serene place can exist in the midst of an extremely busy and bustling metropolitan setting. We experienced complete silence at times, other than sounds of birds and flowing water. Seemed to be visited mainly by local folks - did not appear to be a tourist's destination at all. Very well worth the visit!

Totally polluted oil slick waters from nearly all waters here in park. The ones without oil, had a thick sludge of pond scum throughout the water. Poor birds and fish.
Pied P — Google review
It’s a very nice park to spend your time. I jogged around the park and enjoyed people watching. Lots of parents brought their children dressed in their best to the shrine. The pond is currently under maintenance- no water. There’s one thing that bothers me a lot- all the animals at the zoo looks so sad to the point I can feel their sadness and frustrations. 😥😥😥😭😭

Went on 22Mar, Sakura was in full bloom and picnic is definitely the best way to enjoy the beauty. Crowd starts to come in from noon, by late evening it got really crowded. Bonus, there was a playground, free mini zoo and a small amusement park. It kept the kids occupied the whole day in the park.

An amazing open space park, located next to a lake and temple. Lots of open dirt areas to sit under the cherry blossoms in Spring, as per my photos. The paths were lined with lots of street food and festival games. The park can become extremely busy.

Absolutely beautiful park with so much too see and do. You can just stroll through and read about the various trees or visit one of the many event spaces; including archery, cycling, soccer, baseball, etc. There's even a free zoo. I thoroughly enjoy Omiya Park and I think you will too.

Hikarigaoka Park is one of Tokyo's largest comprehensive metropolitan parks, located in Nerima Ward and partly in Itabashi Ward. Originally planned as a green space to commemorate Japan's 2600th anniversary, the park now offers various amenities such as sports fields, a campground, bird sanctuary, tennis courts, and a baseball field. With over 1,000 cherry trees and an expansive lawn area ideal for picnics, this park provides a tranquil escape from the city center.
Great park, the trees are pretty but just discovered gingko trees are smelly. There's a bakery nearby where you can sit outside. Aside from people passing by to go places it's not crowded.
Irene C — Google review
Before entering the park, we went to the information center (by the skateboard and bmx area) to ask for a map. They had 2 stamps there. The park is really big so there are lots of space to camp or have a picnic, play outdoor games/sports and such. It's sakura season so many people were camping by the sakura trees. The park has many sports facilities like basketball rings, tennis courts, solo tennis courts, softball field, and an indoor badminton court (¥200 per person and you need to bring indoor shoes). Also, vending machines inside the park are easy to find.

This is a huge regional park. I came here for the wild birds observation sanctuary. They offered many binoculars in different heights so little ones could also enjoy birds watching. I did walk around the park a little bit. They were many activities. It was a weekend in the middle of April. So a lot of families together enjoyed a sunny stroll in the park. I couldn’t help but observe from the station on many bicycles in this town.
Satsuki H — Google review
This was a very nice park, I came to visit during a flea market event that was happening this weekend. It was a bit of a walk from the station, but the park alone was very nice. There was a lot of people enjoying the park by playing and walking their pets. It was very lively! I had to walk through here mostly to get to the Library but enjoyed my walk for sure. I would definitely come back if I ever find myself in the area.
C L — Google review
It is a great park. One of the best that Tokyo has. You can play almost all sports in this park. They have a football field for children, a jogging track, solo tennis training, outdoor basketball, baseball, and many more. The jogging track is a soft road, and you can choose the easy trail if you want to. It is a great place to run. The picnic during summer was great, everything getting colorful in this park. The mall is easy to get to, there are a lot of restaurants there, near the mall, and sometimes they have a bazaar. It's really good to live around there. So many children also enjoy the playground park, there are plenty of vehicles that we can play with our children. The park is surrounded by apartments and also houses. So maybe is not a good idea to make it noisy before 9 am. In winter, if the snow falls, you can enjoy a lot of fun with the upside downhill. The toilet is near, but sometimes we can spot some dirtiness. But it was tolerable. I always love to see the town park. It is original and well maintained.
Ridho S — Google review
The park was not crowded at the time we went there. Nice place to stroll around and see beautiful flowers. There’s also a small coffee shop should one get hungry. You can also watch some individuals playing instruments. Would love to go back when cherry blossoms bloom.
Chrisma S — Google review
Great park for all kinds of activities including waking, running, skating, cycling, and artistic activities as well such as painting. It is suitable for siting quietly and reading as well. Doing a picnic activity is very delightful on a day with a nice weather. The trees are beautiful and the leaves are a very clear indication of the change in seasons. This park is such a suitable place to walk your dog as well

Scenic spot
The Meguro River Cherry Blossoms Promenade is a picturesque riverside path adorned with cherry trees, making it a popular spot during the spring bloom season. The river is around 160 meters wide at this point, offering a better experience on foot than from a train window. Visitors can stroll along the wooden plank path and even find glass panes embedded in the floor for viewing the river below. In late March to early April, Tokyo celebrates cherry blossoms with various events and festivals.
April 10th, 2025. There are a number of locations to see the beautiful Cherry Blossoms but the walk along the Meguro River is surely one of the best. So peaceful! You walk in amazement and take SO many pictures because, as you walk, the next tree SOMEHOW looks even more amazing than the last one. You REALLY just get ‘lost in time’ because there’s nothing else in your sight or mind other than what’s directly in front of you.
Geoff L — Google review
A beautiful spot to enjoy cherry blossoms, especially during peak sakura season. The promenade along the Meguro River is lined with hundreds of cherry trees, creating a stunning tunnel of pink flowers. The atmosphere is lively, with many visitors strolling, taking photos, and enjoying seasonal treats from nearby stalls. In the evening, the illuminated blossoms add a magical touch. However, it can get extremely crowded, making it difficult to walk at a relaxed pace. Best visited early in the morning or on a weekday to avoid the biggest crowds.
Ryan G — Google review
Romantic promenade lined with cherry blossoms and lanterns. There was a light rain when we visited the place and to be honest, it added to its charm -- it made the place even more magical. The cherry blossoms weren't in full bloom but imagine if it were, it will provide a beautiful canopy over the river and promenade. If you watch the video, you'll see how the petals swayed with the wind, it's like it dances to the melody of the rain. It really is beautiful.

Meguro River is one of the most beautiful and iconic spots to enjoy cherry blossoms in Tokyo. During sakura season, the riverbanks are lined with hundreds of cherry trees in full bloom, creating a breathtaking tunnel of pink petals. The reflection of the blossoms on the water adds to the magical atmosphere, making it a perfect location for photography and leisurely walks. The area also features charming cafés, restaurants, and street vendors, allowing visitors to enjoy seasonal treats while soaking in the view. Whether you're visiting Tokyo in spring or simply looking for a serene escape in the city, Meguro River offers an unforgettable hanami experience.
Suwichcha K — Google review
I went on a grey drizzly Sunday. Consequently, few people walking the length. I limited my time in Tokyo as I prefer smaller locations and natural sights. However, this was beautiful even on a grey day. The blossoms do not let you down. On a sunny day, it would be breathtaking. I walked the full length and was all magical. I tried to arrange kayak trip down, but they cancelled due to inclement weather shame. The walk you can take your time or if in a hurry go fast or cut out. Paths go down both sides. I swapped sides to get different perspectives on different sections when passing bridges. Highly recommend that you will not be disappointed.
Redfern R — Google review
It’s the kind of beauty that makes you want to see in person. Though the peak of sakura season passed just a week ago, the charm of the spring lingers in the air, fresh green sprouts now peek from the branches, quickly whispering that the season is still alive. Cold night wind dances through the trees, it stirs the petals sending them down the river. The flowing water once a quiet blue, is now blushed with soft pink – a fleeting canvas of nature’s poetry. The scene, though touched by time, remains utterly enchanting.
Huang K — Google review
The cherry blossoms make the promenade absolutely beautiful, but it can be difficult to enjoy due to the sheer volume of tourists that are always present. We went early on a weekday and it was still difficult to avoid large crowds, especially in the busier areas. Would recommend coming at maybe 6am if you want to get pictures with fewer people.
Mary — Google review
One of the famous Cherry Blossom spot in Tokyo. Rows of the Sakura tree’s stretching along the Meguro river. During full bloom the beauty is next level, the beauty of the Sakura petals floating. I visited here around April 12, it’s almost full bloom & end of Sakura season. It’s cost around 1hour max to max 1.5hour for enjoying viewing. Really enjoyed, must visit here.

Ikegami Honmon-ji Temple is a revered Buddhist complex known as the head temple of Nichiren Shoshu and the site of Nichiren Shonin's passing. The temple houses significant cultural artifacts, including the iconic five-story pagoda and a wooden seated statue of Nichiren Shonin. Annually, the Okaeshiki Buddhist Service draws up to 300,000 visitors.
One of my favorite temple complexes in Japan. You can easily avoid the crowds and it's open 24 hours a day. Something very peaceful and contemplative wells up inside as you walk around. Many famous people buried here as well as Nichiren himself or at least the site where he was cremated. If you bring a lunch there is a nice park area behind the cemetery with benches.

A serene temple complex offering a peaceful retreat from Tokyo's bustling city life. The expansive grounds feature impressive structures, including a five story pagoda built in 1608, recognized as the oldest in Tokyo. You can explore various cultural properties and enjoy panoramic views from the hilltop location. During cherry blossom season, the temple becomes particularly picturesque, with the pagoda framed by delicate pink blooms. Easily accessible from nearby train stations, it's a worthwhile visit for those interested in Japanese history, architecture and tranquil surroundings. Enjoy 😎🙏🧘🧘‍♀️

A very good way to spend the morning. I stayed at Kamata and ChatGPT recommended me to visit. Absolutely the best decision I made. I love to get away from the crowd and Ikegami Hommon Temple and the surrounding area is so serene. The day I went happened to be Shichi-Go-San (753 festival) and it's so cute to see so many kids dressed up in the tradition clothes to pray at the temple.

Beautiful complex of temples in Ikegami. During our visit, the temples are very quiet and not crowded at all. We have the whole temples for ourselves to enjoy in a sunny day. The entrance has stairs divided into 6 stages, each stage has 16 steps. From the bottom of stairs and look up, it gives visitors an impression that up there, there is a separate world.

Amusement park
Yomiuri Land is a popular amusement park in Tokyo that attracts both locals and tourists. It features thrilling rides like the Bandit roller coaster and Japan's first standing loop coaster, MOMOnGA, as well as numerous kid-friendly attractions. The annual 'Jewellumination' event from October to April lights up the entire park with colorful displays.
Here’s the English translation of your message: It’s a beautiful amusement park where no matter where you go, you’ll see an abundance of lights. There are plenty of rides, a horror house, go-karts, and many other activities to enjoy. There are also lots of food options, such as a food court or various food stalls around the area. You’ll also find plenty of vending machines and trash bins. It’s perfect for both kids and adults. I suggest visiting during the winter season so you won’t get too sweaty. I also recommend coming in the late afternoon so you can witness the beautiful lights as they start to shine. Just a tip—try not to wait for the last bus trip home, as you’ll be leaving with a big crowd. The entrance fee is definitely worth it

This place was not crowded and with so many rides here wait time ain't that long. Well some are. Fun for all age groups. Bungee jumping, go kart racing to roller-coaster My personal favourite was the seal show. What an awesome day out

Easily reached by gondola once you exit the train station. A 20 min uphill walk is possible as well. Did not have to wait for most rides. Longest wait took about 30 mins. Rides were well managed by the efficient staff. Vibe changes as the evening lights come on. Magical. Enjoyable visit to the park. Would love to revisit.

Went just for the WAI Pool this time. We got an all day ticket. But to be honest. Just the after 3pm ticket would have been perfect. Not too much happens with the night pool. But the view as the sunsets was lovely. As you can see in the photos. It’s a rather busy. But was still enjoyable. I definitely recommend taking a small tent as there aren’t many places where you can rest in shade with out them. The wave pool was a bit timid but good enough. The lazy river was actually quite fast and fun just to relax and drift around in. The two slides were okay. But a bit slow. Diving pool was interesting though. We normally go to the theme park. As the bandit is one of the better rollercoasters in Japan. I think summerland is probably a better day experience than here. But was enjoyable enough. We will go again.

Joy C — Google review
Just about 60 minutes from central Tokyo, Yomiuriland is a must-visit amusement park that somehow flies under the radar—and that’s a shame, because it’s absolutely incredible. Nestled in the hills of Inagi, Tokyo, this park has been delighting visitors since 1964, and it’s still going strong with over 40 attractions ranging from high-octane roller coasters to hands-on creative zones for kids. The standout for me was the Bandit roller coaster—a breathtaking ride that winds through lush forested hills, offering stunning views and exhilarating drops. It’s one of the longest coasters I’ve ever seen, and easily one of the prettiest. The way it blends into the landscape makes it feel like you’re flying through nature. In the summer, the park transforms with Pool WAI, a full water park complete with wave pools, slides, and palm trees. There’s also a haunted house—which I skipped because it looked way too intense—but it’s a hit for thrill-seekers. And the “Goodjoba!!” area is a blast for kids and adults alike, offering interactive attractions themed around Japanese craftsmanship in industries like food, fashion, and even space. You can learn, play, and create all in one spot. We loved the go-karts, bumper cars, and the sheer variety of rides. But the best part? No lineups. Seriously—imagine walking straight onto rides at a major amusement park. It felt surreal and made the whole day so much more enjoyable. Getting there is easy via the Keio Sagamihara Line to Keio-Yomiuriland Station, where you can hop on the Sky Shuttle gondola—a scenic ride that glides you right into the park with panoramic views of the surrounding hills. It’s a magical way to arrive and sets the tone for the day. Yomiuriland also hosts seasonal events like cherry blossom viewing in spring and Jewellumination in winter, where the park lights up with gemstone-inspired LED displays. There are plenty of food options, clean facilities, and a relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for families, couples, or solo adventurers. If you’re looking for a fun, crowd-free, and beautifully designed amusement park near Tokyo, Yomiuriland deserves way more attention than it gets. I’ll definitely be back.
Mika M — Google review
Yomiuriland is definitely worth visiting if you’re in Tokyo and have a whole day to spare! It’s easy to access through the Keiō line from Shinjuku Station. Once you’re there there’s a Gondola/Tram system to take you from the station to the park for ¥500 round trip! The park is a medium size park with lots of attractions, but has only one outdoor roller coaster, which is fun and long. The newer attractions are indoor/in the dark coasters at the Fashion, Food & space factories. There’s also a VR ride at the Car factory! Definitively worth the visit… lines were super chill btw, didn’t have to wait more than 15/20 mins on the busy rides. Also make sure you get an all-day pass so you have access to all rides unlimited. Got mine on Klook and paid around $35 - it was worth it!
