Ice cream shop
Gelateria SINCERITA is a must-visit spot, especially for those in Tokyo. This gelato shop offers a wide range of flavors, from classic ones like pistachio and chocolate to more unique options such as ginger and blueberry cheesecake. Located in the peaceful Asagaya area of Suginami, this small shop has been consistently recognized as one of the best gelato shops in Japan.
Classic ice cream shop and best one I have ever been since when I was child aged I always used to go there . I love everything about this shop and I really like it the vibes are like so cool . I have tired many ice cream all around the world like European country but this one is my favorite so far .
大和腹 — Google review
First it was unbearable to wait just next to the conditioner's outside units and moving cars, then it was super awkward to buy an ice cream and wait for the seat inside. The nanko ume (Japanese plum) and pistachio flavors were superb, all the other tastes were plain. Overall the shop is not worth it. There are much more comfortable places with better gelato.
Nata Z — Google review
The lady who served us was lovely. Very polite and friendly. Theres a lovely family feel about the place. There are plenty of flavours on the menu that I haven’t found elsewhere. There isn’t really much place to sit inside. No tables to speak of. But this seems common in Japan when it’s just ice creams not a cafe per se. The ice creams were very tasty. Would definitely recommend the place and we will hopefully be back again. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for making everyone feel so welcomed.
AbareSaru A — Google review
Really cool ice cream shops where they produce there own creations where some ones are really good. Large display of flavor on a beautiful space. Wish to have a branch in Osaka
Mat — Google review
Fantastic seasonal handmade ice creams and sorbets using ingredients from both Japan and abroad. Well worth the 5 mins work from Asagaya station. Also some great little shops along this street.
J S — Google review
This is very serious gelato. That is to say the vibe borders on pretentious. 😅 It’s so quiet you can hear a pin drop and not many smiles. For me ice cream and gelato are a lighthearted item, so it could definitely use a little levity and cheerfulness. The melon gelato was delicious and the cherry and coconut were also pretty good. I probably won’t come back because it takes itself too seriously but enjoyed my small and very pricey scoops.
Kate H — Google review
Nice place, good service, and the flavors are interesting. Spicy milk is very good. Pistachio is also rich and delicious, but when ordering pistachio, there is additional price, as it is a premium flavor.

Ice cream shop
Gomaya Kuki is an ice cream shop that takes the concept of using sesame in desserts to a whole new level. While sesame is commonly used as a seasoning in Japanese cuisine, Gomaya Kuki offers a unique experience by serving rich and creamy sesame ice cream in two flavors: White Goma with hints of vanilla and Black Goma with hints of chocolate.
Love the white sesame chunky multigrain ice cream. 😋 The black sesame bubble tea is a very unique flavor. It has a nutty taste from the sesame and the drink is not overly sweet like other bubble teas out there.
Sophie — Google review
Definitely suggest the multi-grain and the salted black sesame. Those two together we're a great combo. If you like black sesame try the Rich as well! They have a sampler of all the flavors, but didn't realize until after we ordered. Haha. Would definitely come back.
From P — Google review
Rich and yet still balanced (yes even with the triple rich). Some seats inside for quick eating, but too bad they don’t serve iced water. Would not recommend the cheesecake. Get the black and white sesame ice cream as each has its distinct flavour and both are good.
Crystal K — Google review
GOMAYA KUKI is an adorable hidden spot and only serve 2 flavors with 3 thickness of sesame levels. Their ice cream was amazingly delicious, creamy and even better with sesame oil and seeds. It’s definitely a must visit place if you are a fan of sesame.
Hsin W — Google review
Bought the triple sesame and it wasn't dense as I expected. I had more dense sesame ice cream else where. The only redemption is their sesame oil which has a good fragrance and together with the seeds to give a good crunch. That's my opinion but recommend you to give it a try.
Brendan C — Google review
Exquisite mouthwatering rich black sesame ice-cream in omotesando. Minimum serving of 2 scoops for yen500. I choose the normal and triple rich sesame plus a black sesame latte. As recommended i added freshly roasted sesame seeds and a little sesame oil to the ice cream scoops. The explosion of sesame taste in the mouth was unforgettable. I shall be back for more.
Rebecca Y — Google review
Ordered the Triple Rich Black & White Sesame ice cream and added some sesame seeds and sesame oil on top, and it worth every cent! My favorite ice cream beside the famous Cremia.
Laurent — Google review
One of THE BEST black sesame dessert I have ever tried. The grinding of the black sesame was so fine. That as the ice cream melts in your mouth, it feels so smooth. Different levels of choices to choose from if you don’t want the taste to be really strong! Take a break from shopping and just enjoy the ice cream and serenity in the shop.

Ice cream shop
Kippy's Coco-Cream was born out of co-founder Kippy Miller's personal discovery of the benefits of raw coconut cream. This led to the creation of non-dairy ice cream, and in 2013, Kippys Ice Cream Shop opened in Venice, California. The shop expanded to Tokyo's Sendagaya neighborhood in late 2015.
Best ice cream shop in Tokyo (and Japan). I keep going from time to time to try all the variety of different flavors they offer. Not only the ice cream is delicious and made exclusively of natural ingredients, but they also offer the best topping selection I've seen so far in Japan. Absolutely recommended for high quality ice cream lovers!
Adrià — Google review
It's dairy-free which is really great as a dietary alternative, but personally I found the taste just average. Each flavor was incredibly distinct but also not what I would consider delicious. I wouldn't eat it again but I do think it's great that this place exists!
Yuxi Z — Google review
I am very sorry to say this, but the ice cream literally tasted disgusting to me. Can not recommend at all. If you're really hard pressed for vegan ice cream, by all means. But I hope you find another place to serve you.
Edía P — Google review
Just found this place walking toward Harajuku. I got a very big surprise. The ice cream is yummy with it's Coconut base. I not a big ice cream eater but I'll definitely come back because it was really good. On top the place is cozy
Kévin F — Google review
Bad taste and texture Charcoal and coconut honey. Neither had much flavour to them beyond the coconut base. The texture crushes down like eating damp compacted powder. Not a pleasant snack food.
James D — Google review
Vegan, coconut based ice cream. It's very expensive... 600 yen for 2 very small scoops. Trendy place that's a 10 minute walk from harajuku station. A San Francisco hipster esk shop that stands out in Tokyo.
Ken O — Google review
This dairy-free ice cream is on par with many other normal dairy ice creams in Tokyo. If you’re looking for an alternative that is just as delicious as normal ice cream come here. The price is also not too bad for the quantity of ice cream.
Johanna K — Google review

Nanaya Aoyama is a teahouse located in Ura-Harajuku, known for offering the world's most intense matcha ice cream with seven different levels of richness. The shop is just a 7-minute walk from Shibuya Station and has won second place in Japan's gelato contest. If you're a fan of matcha, this is the place to be.
Are you a matcha fan? This small local spot is one of the best places in Tokyo to experience it. They offer matcha ice cream in intensity levels from 1 to 7—we tried level 3 and level 7, and both were amazing. They also have other flavors, but what really stands out is the precision and care in how everything is made. It takes a bit of walking to find, but it’s well worth the effort!
Reza R — Google review
I finally dropped by this matcha specialty shop I’d saved on Google Maps for a while, since I was craving matcha ice cream today. I tried the No. 4, No. 6, and No. 7 matcha gelato, and was pleasantly surprised by the pricing. For a specialty shop like this, I expected above-average prices, but three flavors came to just 850 yen—very reasonable. Quality-wise, it was solid. Not the best matcha gelato I’ve ever had, but definitely good enough to rate around 4.2–4.3 out of 5. If you’re nearby, it’s worth a stop. Personally, my favorite was No. 6—strong, intense, and slightly bitter, exactly how I like tea-flavored desserts. No. 7 was even more intense and very bitter; while I appreciated it, it leaned too far into “tea” and not enough into “dessert” for me to really crave it. Overall, it’s a small shop, but you can tell they put genuine effort into their products. A solid, satisfying matcha gelato experience.
AL — Google review
The ice cream had many different intensities from 1-7. I had number 3 and it was creamy, sweet, and also just bitter like matcha. They also had black sesame and tea flavour. There were also snacks that were very flavourful. Overall the atmosphere was nice and not too hot but could improve with much more seating area. Good to come here for a dessert .after lunch.
C T — Google review
Strongest Matcha Gelato in Shibuya Matcha Gelato Level 7! 💴: ¥630 📍:@nanaya_aoyama WARNING: This is not your average matcha gelato!! 🤯 Nanaya Aoyama is a specialty Japanese tea and sweets shop located in Shibuya. I went here to try the famous Matcha Gelato Premium No. 7. It’s the highest concentration of matcha you can get! It’s smooth, umami rich, slightly bitter, grassy, strong & intense flavor. Absolutely zero sweetness! Think of it as a koicha in the form of a Gelato! Eating this got me extremely high!🚀🥴 The shop also offers other tea-infused flavors like Hojicha (roasted green tea) and sells premium loose-leaf teas and matcha sweets.
James E — Google review
Great shop to buy anything matcha or green tea related. They have matcha chocolate and a very large selection of premium green teas. We purchased chocolate, green tea, and tried their matcha gelato. The number 7 (darkest color) was absolutely amazing.
Anton K — Google review
Small quaint matcha tea shop that sells various green tea offerings including delicious ice cream. Everything is pricey but I do recommend buying the matcha chocolate that graduates the matcha flavours from mild to deep and dark. The hochija chocolate flavour is to die. Recommend the premixes that enable you to make a refreshing icy matcha latte at home.
M4l2K T — Google review
This matcha shop’s fame matches its longevity. The brand has been around for so long so I knew I had to visit while I was in Japan. Unfortunately though, they ran out of the matcha chocolate boxes with increasing levels of intensity. Regardless, I still grabbed a scoop of matcha ice cream at the most intense level and it was fantastic. Super smooth and creamy while also being really intense in flavor. Definitely the best matcha ice cream I tried during my trip, just really wish I could have bought the gift set of matcha chocolates.
Anthony G — Google review
Nice ice cream shop that offers different matcha strength levels. Matcha #1, Genmaicha (brown rice tea), Houjicha (roasted tea) are mild and milky. I wish they have stronger Houjicha. Matcha #4 and 5 are well balanced with sweet and bitterness. Matcha #7 is strong and have a bitter after taste, but it's really perfect for a matcha lover!

Ice cream shop
Daily Chiko is a must-visit spot near Nakano Broadway, known for its towering 20cm soft serve ice cream with eight layers of deliciousness. The flavors, such as vanilla, chocolate, matcha, and ramune soda, may vary but are always delightful. Despite its intimidating appearance, the ice cream is surprisingly light and contains fewer calories than regular soft serves.
Finally made it to the legendary soft serve place Daily Chiko. If you're serious about ice cream you'll get the extra large with all their flavours. Did this challenge in the middle of summer and it is boiling in the basement where this iconic stand is located. EAT FAST. Flavours include Strawberry, Coffee, Milk, Chocolate, Matcha, Banana, Grape and Ramune Soda.
David X — Google review
Daily Chiko is an absolute awesome. Their famous 8 layer ice cream is not just a treat for your taste buds, but also for the eyes. Each layer has its own unique flavour and texture, and somehow they all work together perfectly. From rich and creamy to light and refreshing, every bite keeps you excited for the next. The presentation is incredible, it’s tall, colorful, and makes you feel like you’re getting the ultimate indulgence. Portion size is generous, so it’s great for sharing (though honestly, you’ll want it all to yourself). On top of that, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Daily Chiko is definitely one of those spots that you’ll keep coming back to whenever you’re craving something fun, unique, and absolutely delicious.
Ri W — Google review
Wasn’t brave enough to try the 8-flavor cone because I don’t think I can eat it all up, but I went for the smallest three-flavor cone and it was well worth it. Love the pistachio flavor and the strawberry as well. Will try other flavors next time I find myself in Nakano. There is a small seating and customers keep coming and going. Be forewarned, the ice cream gets heavier the more flavors you choose! XD
Gaijin G — Google review
Delicious soft serve ice cream with a wide variety of flavours. I got the pistachio and vanilla which were creamy, light and delicious. The shop is located in the basement!
D S — Google review
(Recorded on September 13, 2025) A shop famous for its gigantic soft-serve ice cream. You can choose between a cone or a cup—each with its own downside. The cone tends to tip over easily, while the cup makes your hand cold. Either way, the melting ice cream ends up dripping onto your hand 🤣
Nemesis C — Google review
Decent ice cream in lots of great flavors. It was hard to find using map apps; it was in the basement on the same floor as the Seiyu grocery store. Cash only.
Emily A — Google review
The price here is great! I tried the three favour cone melon, matcha, coffee and all were delicious especially the melon one! And they fill your cone until the bottom. Very happy

At Premarché Gelateria, vegans can rejoice in the variety of dairy-free options available. In addition to fruity sorbets, the store offers creamy vegan gelato that is indistinguishable from its dairy counterparts. With Japanese-inspired flavors like shiso sorbet and roasted sweet potato gelato, there's something for everyone. The refreshing tartness of the kishu nanko ume (Japanese plum) flavor is particularly popular during the summer months.
Amazing ice-cream flavors you wouldn't find elsewhere. Also it's rare to see so much vegan options in a dessert store in Japan. We tried prunes and lemon flavors - both amazing. Could be quite pricey given they serve a very tiny cup.
Dian V — Google review
This super unique ice cream store has such a wide variety of quality ice creams its quite staggering, great place to park ya self and chill for abit. Families will definitely have a blast, the servers even prepare the ice cream cones on holders when its ready.
SChan — Google review
not all the flavors are equal, macadamia+dates+coffee is superb, others pretty average the portions in cups are incredibly small, looks like the waffle cones portions are more generous
Mrs C — Google review
Wow... As someone who makes a lot of ice cream, Gelato, and sorbet, I can say this place has amazing flavors a d textures.. The waffle cone is spot on and Ii would definitely be back to sample ALL their flavors.. All I can say is "Step outside your normal flavor box" and they their creations, you can not go wrong
Marshall B — Google review
The gelato here is amazingly delicious. Guilt free too. They have gelato that contains no sugar and made from soy. Vegam will be very happy here!
Snail H — Google review
Walking past this gelato shop in Tokyo, we noticed a sign claiming they had the '3rd best gelato in the world!' - naturally, we had to check it out. Well, I hate to say it, but I was pretty underwhelmed. While the price point suggests premium quality, the gelato itself was just... okay? Maybe by Tokyo standards it's exceptional, but coming from Europe, I found it rather mediocre. The flavor descriptions sounded amazing and creative on the menu, but the actual taste didn't live up to the hype. I was particularly disappointed with the pistachio flavor - while you could taste the pistachio, it was too artificial compared to the authentic gelato I'm used to in Europe. I appreciate the effort they put into marketing and presentation, but I expected much more from a place claiming to be among the world's best. They're offering free gelato for Google reviews.
Veronika S — Google review
As an ice cream lover, I loved this place. I've tried the vegan chocolate, peach, macadamia and coffee, salted lychee and grapefruit sorbet, charcoal and banana, and Belgian chocolate. Yes, I've tried them all, and they were amazing… I almost forgot, the pomegranate soda was also legendary
Burcu K — Google review
Best vegan ice cream shop in Tokyo! So many flavors to choose from with detailed explanation on the ingredients used. Very considerate for people who have allergies. We ordered 1 waffle cone (plus 50 yen) and 1 cup both 2 scoops each. For cone waffle, we chose charcoal banana with premium pistachio flavor (plus 100 yen for premium flavor). For the cup, we chose almond and vegan cheesecake. The banana one doesn’t taste like vegan ice cream at all cause it’s so creamy and delicious! The pistachio smell is also strong and the texture is very smooth. The almond and vegan cheesecake are also very tasty. Highly recommended!

Funawa Nakamise Shop 1 in Asakusa is a must-visit for ice cream lovers. The shop offers the famous Cremia ice cream, which has a rich and creamy flavor that stands out. Customers can order through a vending machine, making the process quick and efficient. The unique soft biscuit cone with a buttery texture complements the smooth ice cream perfectly. Visitors also rave about other flavors like matcha vanilla mix and sweet potato with shave ice and tea syrup.
I'm so happy this shop serves Cremia ice cream—it's a must-have for me every time I visit Japan. The ice cream itself is incredibly smooth with a rich, creamy flavor, but what makes it special is the cone. It’s like a soft biscuit cone with a buttery texture. Also, for those wondering, it’s 400 yen, and you order through a vending machine!
Eryn T — Google review
I’ve had better and cheaper soft serve. The matcha didn’t have as strong of a green tea flavor as I’d like. The chocolate tasted more like dark chocolate and milk flavor wasn’t as rich. The matcha is also cheaper than the other two. Could use a better cone as well. The one benefit is that it’s very fast and the line goes by quick. I’d probably try a different shop next time I’m around.
Sharn K — Google review
I was attracted to their interesting display of confectionery and desserts and I got myself a ginnkadou skewer with taiyaki. It tasted nothing special but I liked its presentation.
Zzz — Google review
Bought Cremia Ice cream here! We were strolling around Asakusa and the first thing we noticed here is that they sold Cremia Ice cream so we immediately line up and wait for our turn. We have to order via machine to purchase the ticket before we gave it to the maker. We could pay via credit card or pasmo/suica so it's quite practical for us and the line is moving quite fast. We ordered both the standard ice cream and Cremia ice cream and the taste is indeed different. The standard one taste good, but the Cremia taste even better. You should try it at least once if you ever visit this area. After we received our ice cream, we shall finish it on the side of the shop to avoid making a mess while eating the ice cream, we can also dump the ice cream paper in the available trash can (only for ice cream paper, not for other trash). It definitely a good snack in the middle of the day, or every time you want something sweet. Recommended!

A little ice cream shop on Nakamise Street. The matcha ice cream was really good, but the half-and-half vanilla and chocolate was absolutely out of this world. The cones are crisp, the prices are fair, and overall it’s an easy 5-star recommendation.
Yam Z — Google review
When I went, there was a line, but since the order is done via a machine, I didn't need to wait long. I got the 400 JPY matcha vanilla mix and it was totally worth it. The flavors were clear yet light, so I didn't feel the need to rinse my mouth afterward with water. The cone was different from the usual waffle cone; it was soft, easy to bite into, and complemented the ice cream perfectly. Just a heads up, the ice cream tends to melt quite fast!

Suzukien Asakusa is renowned for its matcha gelato, available in seven different intensity levels to cater to both matcha enthusiasts and newcomers. The shop's rich matcha flavor has earned it a reputation as the go-to place for matcha ice cream in Japan.
Long queue but moving fast. Very good matcha ice cream. Recommend to try number 5 and 6 ( the strongest). Milky one were too milky for us, but strong matcha 5 and 6 just perfect. You can eat on the 1st floor and sit if you are lucky one. Highly recommend cos taste is amazing!! 🍵

Very assembly line service, pick your matcha level for the ice cream, pay, eat in a little room upstairs with not enough seating and not a great view. The scoops I feel were tiny as well. There’s 6 levels of matcha flavour you can pick and an extra paid add’on if you want the premium matcha. Ice cream was nothing to be amazed about, just smooth with regular matcha flavour. The photo here is a double scoop, it looks like one, that’s how small the portions are.

Legendary for its matcha gelato variety, this spot did not disappoint. The wife and I double-cupped Nos. 3 and 5, one notch above and below the medium strength. These blended beautifully - in terms of bitterness, 3 is like a milk chocolate whereas 5 is like a 70% dark. This means that both are great in isolation, and lovely when combined too. Highly recommended.

Good choice — Suzukien Asakusa (壽々喜園 浅草本店) is a very popular destination for matcha lovers. Here’s a detailed review: what works really well, some potential drawbacks, and whether it’s worth a stop. • Suzukien is a long-established Japanese tea shop (wholesaler) in Asakusa that has partnered with Nanaya, a matcha-sweets brand, to make very rich gelato. • The Asakusa store is not just a take-out spot: there’s a cozy eat-in area (Time Out mentions seating, and reviews say there’s a lounge space) where you can sit and enjoy your gelato. • Opening hours are fairly limited: according to TimeOut, it’s open roughly 11:00–17:00. 🍵 What to Try / Menu Highlights • Matcha Gelato (7 Levels) • The most famous item: seven intensities of matcha gelato, from No.1 (milder) to No.7 (very rich and umami). • No.7 is a standout: described as the world’s richest matcha gelato. • According to Umami Bites, No.7 has a strong, bitter-leaning matcha flavor but balanced so it’s not just harsh—it’s deep and satisfying. • Other Flavors • Besides matcha, they also offer hojicha (roasted tea), genmaicha, black sesame, and azuki (red bean). • Traditional Sweets • Suzukien sells other traditional items, like matcha “an dango” (dango with 4 different matcha bean-pastes) — Umami Bites describes this as a signature item. • Tea Leaves & Gifts • Since Suzukien is originally a tea wholesaler, they also sell good-quality loose-leaf matcha and teas, which makes it a good place for souvenirs. • Matcha Quality & Variety: The 7-level gelato system is a huge draw. You can really tailor how “matcha-rich” your ice cream is. • Authenticity: As a long-time tea wholesaler, their matcha taste is very genuine — not just a dessert shop. • Perfect for Matcha Lovers: Especially if you like strong, bitter matcha: many visitors say No.7 is intense and very “matcha-forward.” • Diverse Menu: In addition to matcha gelato, other tea-based flavors provide variety. • Souvenir Friendly: You can pick up tea leaves, matcha powder, or packaged sweets. • Nostalgic / Traditional Feel: The shop feels rooted in Asakusa’s traditional tea culture, which is great for a cultural dessert stop. • Lines / Popularity: Because it’s very famous, there can be lines, especially in good weather or tourist season. • Limited Opening Hours: If you’re planning to go late in the day, note that they close relatively early (around 5 PM). • Price for No.7: The premium No.7 gelato is more expensive than the lower levels. According to some reviews, it’s well-worth it if you love matcha, but might be too bitter for casual ice cream eaters. • Seating Can Be Tight: The eat-in area exists but may not be super large — during busy times, seating might be limited. (Some reviews note this.) • Not Super “Sweet”: Because of the high matcha content, especially in higher levels, the gelato can be quite bitter or vegetal, which may not be everyone’s idea of “dessert.” No.7 matcha + hojicha double, calling No.7 “deep bitterness + rich umami” and praising the hojicha for its aroma. No.7 may be too intense for some” — they opted for a milder level and enjoyed that more. “Flavor wise it was really strong … I would recommend if you like things with a strong matcha taste.” “I really liked Suzukien … I chose a medium matcha level while my partner chose the darkest … that was too much for me.” • Highly Recommended If You: • Love matcha and want to try something very rich and authentic. • Are okay with a slightly bitter, vegetal dessert (especially at higher levels). • Want a dessert stop that’s a little cultural — not just any ice cream shop, but one rooted in Japanese tea tradition. • Are visiting Asakusa and want a break with something sweet + “old Tokyo” feel. • Maybe Skip / Limit If You: • Prefer very sweet or “soft” ice cream rather than strong tea flavor. • Don’t like waiting in lines (though go early / off-peak to avoid this). • Want a budget dessert — higher levels of matcha gelato can be pricier than simple soft-serve

Strong matcha flavoured gelato, with the option to pick the intensity. Tried the level 5 and 6, both were quite strong in flavour, with the 6 leaving a stronger aftertaste. Found the gelatos not too sweet. The store also has matcha powder and tea for sale. Store wasn't too busy when we in the afternoon.
Whitney W — Google review
We ordered a double scoop — Level 3 matcha and the seasonal pumpkin flavor. Surprisingly, the pumpkin gelato turned out to be our favorite. We also tried the dango and green tea set, which was tasty but not particularly memorable. The shop was quite crowded, so we ended up standing while eating.

Marcus L — Google review
This place is good, went here as a recommendation from my cousin. We both got different levels of the ice cream. I feel, as someone who doesn't drink matcha often, after level 6, it all taste the same to me. It has that matcha-y taste. Its definitely super tasty, but I think I enjoy the lower half levels more

Ouca is a stylish cafe in Japan, known for its delicious and unique ice cream flavors. The cozy locale offers stools at counters overlooking the street, creating a snug atmosphere perfect for a quiet catch-up. Using specially selected ingredients from across Japan, Ouca specializes in homemade and seasonal flavors such as brown sugar, sweet potato, fried dough, pumpkin, tomato, and kiwi.
What a lovely little shop. The service was great and the ice cream was delectable, like my son says! I wish I had found it sooner, as it was our last day in Tokyo, otherwise we would have gone back again. I wanted to try all the flavors! The island banana is amazing, the cafe latte was creamy and rich, and if you are a matcha lover, then the matcha ice cream is a must!

Amazing flavors and texture. Got pineapple matcha earl grey and brown rice tea. Brown rice tea was my favorite bc it had that nutty taste but with just enough sweetness. Lucky to have found this place on accident ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jeff C — Google review
Tried this place with high hopes, but the sorbet was unfortunately way too sweet for me. I’m usually sensitive to sugar quality, and this one didn’t sit right — it irritated my throat, which often happens with overly processed or artificial sweeteners. If it had been made with real cane sugar or a more natural balance, I think it would’ve landed better. A bit disappointing, especially since I really wanted to like the place.

Stumbled across this shop and it surpassed all my expectations! The gelato itself was so delicious with just the right thickness, plus each cup comes with the choice to pick up to 3 flavors. Definitely recommend the milk and matcha gelato.

A delicious treat to cool down in the heat of summer. I like that there are different sizes to choose from and you can still select 3 different flavors even with the smallest size 👍🏻 I got Hojicha, Lemon Ice and Melon Sorbet - they were all delicious 😋

A reccomended shop for all dessert lovers! They offer a variety of dessert — ice cream, matcha float, coffee and tea, and red bean soup and mochi. The place is small but it is nice and clean. They also have gift package for their ice cream, it can be an option for those looking for alternative in gifting relatives or colleagues. It is located near Ebisu station.

Nice little corner off the sides of Ebisu streets. Ice cream is creamy and soft with a wide variety of special flavors. The staff is trained to scoop the ice cream neatly into a triple flavor cup, nicely distributed with your choices. I’d say if you like a quick fix of shakes and ice cream, this place is a nice drop by to have a dairy snack. Decent place for both young and old.

CHAVATY Omotesando is a renowned tea shop in Tokyo, offering classic treats like scones and delightful tea-flavored ice creams. The store's specialty lies in its delectable soft-serve flavors, which are based on various Japanese teas sourced from different prefectures across Japan according to the season. One of their popular flavors is hojicha, known for its earthy and toasty richness, making it a perfect choice for summer desserts.
Got a crepe here, and it was absolutely fantastic! A great fusion of French and Japanese styles of sweets. The honey drizzled over top of my hojicha latte was so delicious and added a freshness that I really enjoyed. Only complaint is that you have to get a drink with the crepes, which I didn't want to as each drink starts at around 600 yen minimum, but otherwise it was great
Abbey R — Google review
I went on a Sunday morning, it was quiet with only locals. The combination of cherry, mint, cream and matcha with the crepe was so delicious! I also ordered a matcha soda which I’d never tried before, but was a bit matcha’d out! Would definitely recommend to anyone as a place for breakfast/brunch.

Best scones I have eaten in Japan. They are moist and flavorful. Just be prepared to order it with a Tea. Every customer needs to order a drink / tea. Matcha ice cream and drink is nice too - not sweet and have good matcha taste.

I ordered the cheese cake set which was fantastic. The cheese cake was made with hojicha and the smoky note in it paired well with the cheese. I also had the hojicha latte which mush have been 500ml plus! Jow come nobody talks about the size of the drinks here! It’s so generous. *I waited 25 minutes on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm

I’ve been wanting to try Chavaty for a while since their sets are really cute and have been popular since they opened. There is quite a wait still, but the service is good and everything comes pretty fast after ordering. However, we were disappointed because the milk tea had little flavor and the scones were very dry. I guess it’s another nice place to chill and take photos at, so I don’t think I’ll visit again…

Shiroichi is a well-known ice cream shop located just a short walk from Shibuya Station in Tokyo. They are famous for their organic soft serve milk ice cream, made with the freshest milk from Hokkaido. The ice cream has a light and refreshing taste, not overly sweet or creamy. The unique feature of Shiroichi's soft serves is their unusually long and thin shape, making them a challenge to eat before they melt or tip over.
It was a very decent place with a peaceful atmosphere. There were only 4 types of soft serve available on the day we visited. We have ordered the soybean flour flavour one which taste absolutely delicious! The red bean paste on top wasn’t too sweet that blend well with the ice cream. It’s more like a slush than an ice cream tho, but it’s perfect during a summer day! Appreciate how the staff work alone in the store (*'ω'*)
Rachel — Google review
Small store only has 4 seats available. Ice-cream is really milky but I felt it should be more creamy instead the texture is a little like slushes. Overall, it still very tasty and definitely worth trying. Staff is very polite and the icecream does look the same as advertised.
Alan N — Google review
This is for the milk lovers. Their ice dessert is not ice cream and is not soft serve. It’s a more icy version of soft serve. Nonetheless when served with milk it’s a nice cold treat that lets the ingredients shine. The staff was really nice and waved goodbye to us despite it being more of a grab and go location.
Paul C — Google review
I treated myself to their signature “Black Syrup & Uji Matcha” soft-serve – the texture is uniquely “fresh-milk frozen” with a slightly crisp outer layer and creamy inside, framed by velvety Uji matcha and a pour of rich, organic kuromitsu (black syrup). It’s light, visually stunning and a perfect stop in Shibuya for a sweet escape.
Hisayoshi K — Google review
I expected the texture to be softer from it's appearance, so this texture was something new for me. Would have preferred a softer texture. The flavour and taste was really great!
Alvin C — Google review
My Japanese friend took me there. It's one of these little gem that you found a little deeper inside Shibuya (off the tourist path). Well it was a refreshing surprise. The soft serve ice cream made of Hokkaido milk (reputed region for dairy) was also sinked into fresh milk. A delicacy we enjoyed while catching up. The shop is tiny, there's not much of space to really chill. We stayed on the bench and enjoyed our ice cream on this pretty hot day. Price for this treat was 800 yen.
Sarah A — Google review
We were tired after visiting Shibuya and Harajuku area, so would like to have cold nice snack. We visited the very small shop with limited seats and ordered affogato and matcha dango anko soft serve ice-creams. They're all OK, but nothing special for the prices we paid (around ¥ 1,650). Since it is very small, you might have to stand while having your sweets. There are only a few seats available and the place is quite busy in Shibuya area. Customer services are reasonable, but you can only pay by cash.

The shop prides itself on using premium Hokkaido milk to create all of its flavors, which include unique options like salt and cream cheese, chocolate and brownie, as well as butterscotch and pecan.
The ice cream is so good here!! I go almost every week when I walk pass it. I can’t believe it’s vegan!I talked to one of the staffs and they all speak both English and Japanese. I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time since I live close and finally made it! I don’t know if my expectations were too high given it’s a 専門店 but it was pretty underwhelming. 【Flavor】 Matcha & White Chocolate Yuzu Cookie The taste of matcha was good, but the cookie did not taste like yuzu? Didn’t taste the white chocolate either. The cookie itself was good but tasted like it’s been sitting for a while. Goma Miso Black Cookie Was good but I only tasted the goma. Given the taste & price for two scoops (¥890), I don’t think I’d come back but was good to try though!

Their products are meticulously crafted without any dairy products or food additives. The gluten-free ice cream they serve is not only healthy but also rivals traditional ice cream in taste. With flavors like rum & raisin, vanilla & chocolate crunch, and chocolate brownie & roasted almonds, their offerings are both diverse and delicious.
This has got to be the best vegan/ gluten free dessert I’ve had. I chose the chestnut cream cake and it was the perfect mixture of textures and not too sweet. The lady was extremely helpful and packaged the cake up safely to go. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning.

Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Nakameguro, John's Ice Cream is a delightful surprise waiting to be discovered. This charming ice cream shop shares its space with a hair salon, making it easy to overlook if you're not paying attention. However, those who venture inside are treated to an array of unique and inventive flavors that push the boundaries of traditional ice cream.
We passed by the area with the plan to try John’s Ice Cream. We found there’s a long line already and it was a very hot-hot day! But we decided to get in a queue anyway. Shortly after the server came out to pass the menu for us. We asked her if we can get them for a take out and placed our order through her right away. Like about 15 minutes later (but felt like forever due to the heat) our scoops came out. They look beautiful and delicious. We love John’s Ice Cream!

Very interesting concept for an ice cream shop. They have some unique flavors such as the charcoal black chocolate. Vegan and dog friendly options are available as well. You can pay an extra 600 yen to decorate ice cream with as many toppings as you want. The toppings even include things like a cookie on a stick.

OK, so, the Cookieboy cookies are not available all the time, so you might be either in, or out of luck. The ice cream tastes really nice though. Decorating your ice cream is fun, if a bit messy. If you want to recreate the promo pictures, don't keep your hopes up ;3

The ice cream shop entrance was interesting, but I think it was clear on my face that I was there to try the ice cream and not have a haircut 😅 I love that there are savory ice creams, more people should be adventurous and try them out. They are delightful and open a whole new world of taste and sensation! I tried the vichyssoise (potato, bacon and blue cheese) ice cream and the amanatsu and black pepper ice cream. The winner was the potato, bacon and blue cheese ice cream. Savory, sweet, creamy and not overly fatty. I usually don't like bacon, but in ice cream, it was fantastic! Service was really attentive, polite and although it was a bit difficult for the (owner?) to communicate with me, he was so enthusiastic and tried very hard which I really, really appreciated. I'll very sure to bring my friends with their appetites to try out these (n)ice-creams!!!

The Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum is a must-visit for music enthusiasts. Housed in a charming European-style building, the museum showcases a remarkable collection of antique automatic musical instruments dating back to the early 1900s, including an orchestrion originally intended for the Titanic. Visitors can enjoy daily performances by these instruments as well as weekly live operas and other musical events, with a focus on weekends.
This remarkable attraction combines the charm of a meticulously crafted French village with an extraordinary collection of automated musical instruments, creating an experience that feels like stepping into a fairy tale. Modeled after French architecture, every building showcases beautiful Cinderella-castle-style design that provides endless photographic opportunities throughout the grounds. I arrived late in the day when Mount Fuji was completely obscured by clouds, having exhausted other sightseeing options, and entered more out of curiosity than expectation. What I discovered was far beyond anything I had anticipated. The admission fee includes access to scheduled musical performances featuring massive automated organs, live opera singers, and grand automated music organ concerts that demonstrate incredible engineering and artistry from a bygone era. What truly impressed me was witnessing the staff’s dedication during closing time, as they carefully maintained and adjusted the numerous antique automated instruments with obvious expertise and care. This daily ritual speaks to their commitment to preserving these mechanical marvels for future visitors, ensuring each performance maintains its magical quality. The gift shop offers an extensive selection of music boxes in various sizes and musical selections, plus unique items like violins. While perhaps not as comprehensive as Hokkaido’s famous Otaru music box shops, the quality and sound of their music boxes are genuinely beautiful and worth considering as souvenirs. The magical climax of my visit occurred when the clouds suddenly parted, revealing Mount Fuji in perfect view from the French village setting. This unexpected moment created an absolutely breathtaking backdrop that had every visitor frantically capturing photos of the stunning combination of European architecture and Japan’s most iconic mountain. The contrast between the French-style buildings and the majestic mountain created such a surreal, picture-perfect scene that it felt almost too beautiful to be real. This destination successfully combines cultural education, musical entertainment, architectural beauty, and natural scenery into one cohesive experience that appeals to visitors of all ages and interests.

This place is just awesome and full of music. Live music events during the day in different halls. I really don’t know how to describe the place , it’s a big museum and shop together all around music. All in one it worth paying the entrance fee - 1500 Yen / pers. At the entrance you’ll receive a leaflet with the music events ( hour and hall ) and I warmly recommend to see them. We saw that there is also a restaurant on site. Didn’t enter so we cannot say hoe it is. If you are in the area and you are a music lover and love to see musical instruments we highly recommend this place. By the way there are o lot of shops with wonderful stuff. We spent there approx 2,5 hours. If you are coming by car there is a huge parking place just across the street , just in front of the museum on the other side of the road. Enjoyyyyyy !!!!

The best museum I have ever been too; however, I am biased since I collect music boxes. The performances were amazing and the self-playing instruments that they had on display were some of the most interesting and biggest I have seen. These machines are all in great condition and have obviously been fully restored. It was amazing to see a skilled opera singer perform with antiques music boxes. This made for a very unforgettable experience and was my favorite part of our trip to Japan. Very excited for my next visit.

A wonderful and enjoyable experience for everyone, worth attending and spending some time doing all the exhibits you can. Very eye opening to the history of music and can easily find yourself spending hours learning new things and having a good time.

Visited on a rainy day thinking it would be a good wet weather activity but the museum is mostly not sheltered, except the performance halls. Nonetheless, they provided umbrellas that made exploring the museum much more enjoyable despite the weather. I only managed to catch two performances—the opera and organ— and thoroughly enjoyed both. I definitely regret not arriving earlier to experience more of them. The gift shop also has many interesting souvenirs, especially music boxes for a variety of music pieces, from classical to pop or even studio ghibli tunes. I would really suggest setting some time aside to browse even if you don't intend to buy anything. Lastly, the museum was pretty with flowers and photo spots, and I even managed to catch a glimpse of mt fuji despite the bad weather. Would definitely come back again next time!

A must visit for those who likes old pianos and musical instruments--this place has a massive collection. We were able to catch one "Opera" performance and the Opera Singer was really good! You can tour around the place for about an hour, it's quite small. I liked that they have a shop of Studio Ghibli merch! But if you prefer to be with nature, or not really a fan or old organs and recorders, you can skip this.

Ain Soph. Journey Shinjuku is a part of the Ain Soph vegan restaurant chain and offers a varied menu of plant-based and gluten-free options. Unlike its fast food counterpart, this branch provides an extensive selection of dishes including Gluten-Free Pasta Lunch and Heavenly Pancakes. The English menus with detailed ingredient and allergen information make it stand out in Japan. The cozy ambiance makes it a charming spot for a date while enjoying wholesome vegan cuisine.
My wife and I ate so much here. They have multiple menus with so much to choose from. It’s always very overwhelming (in the best way) when you’re Vegan and can eat anything on the menu. We got the matcha beer and lemon beers. They were good! The lemons were grown locally in Hiroshima. We were debating getting one of the courses but decided to make our own. We got the vegetable tortilla rolls, cold tofu noodles in creamy mala sesame sauce, teriyaki deep-fried soy chicken on rice, and the heavenly pancakes! It was all great! Honestly, the heavenly pancakes are not lying. They really stole the show. We need to figure out how to make these at home now. They were so fluffy and perfect. All of the other dishes were phenomenal too. It’s the type of place with LOTS of options and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Get what you’re feeling! Share! Try a lot! We had such a great time.

Tucked away behind an unassuming door is this vegan restaurant serving an assortment of world and Japanese cuisine. The ambiance is very chic and inviting. They didn't have much in terms of alcohol, but I did enjoy the matcha beer. Noodles are made of rice and were very flavorful, and not spicy. My cutlets were crunchy and delightful. This is not a spot to experience Japanese food and a vegan, but more of a respite from the pork and bonito flake laden world out there!

Small and cozy restaurant with several tables for larger groups. Vegan food was very accessible and fresh - not overly complicated. Food served with style and fair. We had the pancake meal with soup and salad. Very good!

This was phenomenal. We had been in the Isetan dept store in Shinjuku, salivating at the offerings in the food hall and lamenting there was nowhere to sit and eat. So we came here and had one of the treats of the trip. It’s in a cute venue with old timber floor boards and we first went down and up stairs to be seated. The food is vegan and was just great. We shared a deep fried soy ‘Chicken’ main with salad and a pancake desert with non- dairy ice cream. We aren’t vegan but venues like this will help the cause. Amazing.
Allen P — Google review
This is another spot I had to go to twice and since I’m a creature of habit I ordered the same main dish each time but got a different dessert. The burger is one of the best I’ve ever had and sure, travel all the way from Los Angeles for a burger but hear me out, it’s that good. The French fries and the vegan mayo were great too. The first time I also added a house made ginger drink and that was delicious too. I had the same waiter each time and he remembered what I’d ordered 2 days later. If you’re a traveling vegan, vegetarian or have one with you, this is a great place for everyone!

Gorgeous, healthy, interesting vegan food at Ain Soph. Journey Shinjuku! The salad was fresh, the vegetables were tasty and we loved the oily addictiveness of the Mushroom Ajillo! Great for lunch after a walk around Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. I'm just sad I didn't have room for desserts - they all looked so tempting!
Leo M — Google review
I had the pasta Bolognese, pancakes, and a smoothie. All was gluten and dairy free. The pasta and smoothie were great- I'd definitely recommend the pasta. However, the 'dumplings' turned out to be just two pieces of bread, which was disappointing. One star off for that. The staff was polite and efficient. Can pay by card.
Julia P — Google review
We had the heavenly pancakes, at first look we thought they were bread rolls but they were not. A little doughy for me so I kind of scooped out the middle and put the yummy ice cream, nuts and cream all in my fork. We went to the Ikebukuro store and had the vegan hamburger with fries. We both agreed the fried onion taste was delicious. I didn’t think much of the bun it was in though, dry with no soy butter. But then again my friend ate everything crumb. Am going again to try perhaps the tomato soup and soy quiche.

THE ROASTERY BY NOZY COFFEE is a trendy coffee bar located on Harajuku's Cat Street, known for its collaboration between Nozy Coffee and Tysons. The cafe offers a unique experience where customers can choose from two single-origin beans for their espresso, americano, or latte, with the espresso served in champagne glasses. Additionally, patrons can indulge in coffee soft serves and delectable pastries like NY Rings.
I had a great experience at this coffee shop. If you choose the hand poured option you get to pick which beans you want. They let you smell the beans and give you information about each. The French press was delicious. Highly recommend this coffee shop!

This coffee shop in Shibuya has plenty of seating inside and even offers outdoor seating, creating a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, and they provide a variety of coffee options for customers to choose from. I ordered a latte and their latte soft serve, both of which were delightful. I look forward to returning to try other coffee flavors next time!

I visited this coffee shop right when it opened, and I was welcomed with a free sticker from the friendly gentleman behind the counter! The coffee varieties were fantastic, and the doughnuts were delicious. The service was warm and inviting, and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great coffee and a cozy vibe

While waiting for nearby shops to open, we stopped by The Roastery by Nozy Coffee, which was one of the few cafés open before 11 AM. It turned out to be a comfortable place to relax and pass the time. The café has a stylish, modern atmosphere, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy the morning. The staff were friendly, and the service was smooth. The coffee was good, with a rich and well-balanced flavor, but it is definitely on the overpriced side—something to keep in mind if you’re planning to visit. They also offer a small selection of pastries, which pair nicely with the drinks. Overall, it’s a nice spot to relax and enjoy a quality cup of coffee, especially if you need a place to stay before nearby stores open. A bit pricey, but still a pleasant experience.
セノウエプリンセス — Google review
Coffee is okay overall, but they only have medium and dark roasts for filter — which sucks. I only found that out after paying at the counter, since you choose your beans at a separate station afterward. The place itself is kind of dark and has a weird vibe, at least to me.

Terrible coffee. Ordered iced latte with their signature bean. Coffee tasted weird with the milk. It’s a terrible cup of coffee. Worst I have had. I asked if their milk have turned sour and the server said no without checking. Listen to your customer’s feedback… you will never improve if you let your pride take over

It provides a complete farm-to-table experience, with a menu dedicated to showcasing the origins of its ingredients. We visited this vegan restaurant for lunch. The ambience is pleasant and peaceful. While waiting for our order, we browsed through some books at our table. The meal sets were delicious, with a delicate and refined taste. The matcha drink was excellent too. Service was very good and all the staff were friendly. We enjoyed our meal here and would recommend it highly to those looking for a healthy meal.

Had the best brunch here, service and atmosphere here were lovely. Walking in, you are greeted by greens along the pathway where its located at the quiet side of omotesando. We ordered their seasonal set and curry set. Food were prepared well, the curry has a depth without feeling spicy or heavy. Starter was refreshing, vegetables were well cooked and seasoned. Definitely would come back here again.

I visited this vegan restaurant in Omotesando that felt like a hidden gem. Even though it’s right in the center, you walk down a small alley and suddenly find yourself surrounded by nature — it no longer feels like Tokyo. There was a short wait before getting a table, but the atmosphere was worth it. For lunch the menu didn’t have too many options, but the food was fresh, flavorful, and very well prepared. The staff were incredibly kind and spoke English, which made the experience even smoother. Overall, I left very satisfied and would definitely recommend it.

The service and atmosphere were wonderful. I made a reservation in advance through the TableCheck app. The menu is fully vegan. What really stood out to me was the service — from start to finish, the staff were exceptionally kind and attentive.

Our first meal in Tokyo and definitely one of the best. We arrived just as they opened and sat in their courtyard. It was peaceful and fresh sitting amongst the greenery. We shared two different sets, the tofu karaage was the standout and hands down the best tofu we’ve ever eaten, juicy and rich in flavour. We’ll be back again when we’re next in Tokyo!

From the setting to the service with a smile, attentiveness and delicious food, we would recommend this place to vegans and non-vegans alike. Restaurant
Tofu Cuisine Sorano Shibuya is a unique restaurant that offers a variety of dishes centered around tofu. In addition to tofu-based options, the menu also includes items like tempura, salad, and carpaccio. The restaurant provides a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Customers can enjoy delicious soft tofu heated at their table, beef with beer sauce, chicken thighs, tofu skin dumplings, maitake tempura, and mimosa salad.
the food was absolutely amazing! we had the avocado tofu, the deep fried tofu in japanese broth, the deep fried chicken and the tofu tiramisu. everything was so so good! would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves good food. the waitress was so so kind and the ambiente was absolutely incredible.
Katharina K — Google review
❌❌💅🏻💅🏻 We had an OK experience overall — the restaurant has beautiful traditional Japanese decor, and there’s a great variety of tofu dishes on the menu. Everything was well presented and tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. That said, I’m giving 2 stars instead of 5 because… We had three different waitresses taking care of our table, their service was so-so, 1 them had VERY LONG, decorative acrylic/gel nails with gems and charms. On more than one occasion, she struggled to pick things up from the table because of their nails, and when she was serving, one of the long nail was inside the plate so close to the food 🫠🥴😵 This is in a food service setting it came across as both impractical and unhygienic. It pulled me out of the dining experience and made me question the standards of hygiene behind the scenes.
FreeBird — Google review
Our Tofu Cuisine Sorano culinary experience was somewhat lukewarm. Securing a booking wasn't straightforward, especially with the language barrier to make phone reservations but with some help, we managed. Our first impression was generally positive - the ambience was cozy and inviting which was a nice welcome The food was a mixed bag. The scallop dumplings were slightly above average. The goose dish didn't quite hit the mark, it was just mediocre, and to make matters worse, we could only have a plate of 5 pieces for our party of 7 as there were no more. The classic tofu was steamed right at our table, adding to the experience. It took 30 minutes before we could dig in. Overall, the food was nothing mind-blowing, just generally acceptable and decent, as we went in with modest expectations, knowing it's a soy-centric meal.
Donut — Google review
Lots of vegetarian vegan options on their menu. Great service. This restaurant is like a vegan vegetarian Izakaya 🏮.The way they present tofu is unique and remarkable. The tofu tiramisu was my highlight of the meal. Don’t missed out when you are in the area. Info. Like other Izakaya. Everyone must order one drink.
Aston N — Google review
An good experience in the many ways to prepare tofu and soy-based dishes. Each dish came with a different dipping sauce, which is thoughtful. The desserts were a highlight. I would come here again.
M C — Google review
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Tokyo, this minimalist, reservation-required restaurant has a curious charm—though walk-ins can occasionally be lucky, don’t count on it. On one visit, we were turned away; another time, fortune favored us and we were seated. If you plan to go, a reservation is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. The experience was mixed, leaning from moments of brilliance to surprisingly bland. They do have quite a few vegan options to choose from. One thing to note upfront: the portions are small—elegantly plated, but not necessarily satisfying in size. If you arrive hungry, be sure to order accordingly. We began with the Avocado Tofu, a tiny serving of just two pieces, but each bite was a revelation—delicately soft, fresh, and utterly satisfying. It was easily one of the standout dishes of the meal. We followed with the Tofu Skin, which didn’t land as well. The texture was off-putting—rubbery and awkward—making it hard to enjoy even with an open mind. The wheat skewers with Perilla Miso offered more promise, but ultimately lacked punch. The miso had depth, but the skewers felt forgettable, not quite reaching the warmth or heartiness the dish seemed to aim for. Our main, rice with tofu skin in a thick sauce, was a letdown. Overly salty and one-dimensional, the dish lacked the subtlety or umami depth you’d expect from a tofu-forward kitchen in Tokyo. It filled us up, but didn’t leave us wanting more. Then came redemption: dessert. The Tofu Tiramisu was, quite frankly, divine. Velvety, rich without being heavy, and packed with flavor. It was everything a modern take on tiramisu should be—soft, gooey, indulgent—and easily the highlight of the evening. Verdict: The kitchen shows sparks of creativity and precision, particularly in its small bites and desserts. But it’s inconsistent. When it works, it really works. However, sometimes dishes could feel underwhelming as well. Come for the starters and sweets—but don’t skip the reservation.
Khyati M — Google review
Clear concept as a tofu-specialty restaurant, but the service doesn’t quite live up to the high price point. The course menu felt more like bar snacks than a proper meal. Interesting to try once, but not a place I’d return to.
Brian B — Google review
Outstanding and creative cuisine. The restaurant is a haven for vegetarians and vegans thanks to many creative tofu dishes but also has dishes with meat and fish. This was one of the best meals we had in Japan, highest scores on taste, uniqueness, and design of the restaurant. The fresh tofu cooked on your table is a nice spectacle. The various tofu variations (we tried sesame and avocado) are incredible, and the tempura - with many unusual, often vegetarian types such as persimmon and chrysanthemum - was equally delicious. Reservations are essential but can be done over phone in English as well.

Shirasuya is a seafood restaurant located on the island of Enoshima, just a few stations away from Kamakura. It's known for its specialty dish, shirasu donburi (whitebait rice bowl), made with the day's catch from the nearby port. The restaurant offers various preparations of whitebait, including raw and fried options. Visitors praise the perfectly fried tempura and flavorful little fishes, often served on a bed of rice.
Savoring Shirasu: A Delightful Dining Experience in Enoshima! I recently dined at a local restaurant in Enoshima specializing in shirasu fish (whitebait) dishes, and it was a fantastic experience. The crispy shirasu croquettes were a highlight golden, crunchy and bursting with flavor. The menu offered a variety of options, from shirasu donburi to savory seafood salad, all showcasing the freshness of the fish. The cozy atmosphere made it a perfect spot to enjoy these local delicacies. A must-visit for anyone in Enoshima!

Come here and have a better Shirasu don than the other places in the tourist areas. I had the half tempura and it's awesome. The restaurant decor is great and the service was excellent. Cash only, but we only spent 3,000 yen for the three of us.

One of the best priced set meals for those that want to try shirasu. They cook the bait fish in a variety of ways, allowing you to try the different dishes that feature it. Very fresh and not fishy at all.

I visited this restaurant after a long walk, in need of something to help me recover my energy, and it didn’t disappoint. I ordered a huge shirasu (whitebait) set meal for 2,200 yen (cash only), and it was totally worth it. The set included several preparations of shirasu with different tastes and textures, from soft and gooey to crispy and crunchy. The tempura version was exceptionally good. The staff was polite and helpful. I would strongly recommend this restaurant, and especially the shirasu set, so you can try its different preparations and find your favorite.

This restaurant seemed popular with the locals. I ordered the set meal and you are able to enjoy shirasu prepared in different forms. My favourite was the tempura, the batter was light and you can still enjoy the savouriness of the fish. Kamakura beer was really good too. Highly recommend this place!

Funawa Cafe is a laid-back dining spot in Japan that serves up an array of Japanese sweets. Among the favorites are anko balls, yam-flavored imo yokan, and ice cream. However, the cafe's claim to fame is its specialty dish called Taiyaki - a pancake resembling a sea bream and filled with delectable sweet red bean paste. This treat can be enjoyed fresh at the cafe or taken out for later indulgence.
Walking around Tenjoji Temple in Asakura, I started to feel sleepy, so I walked around looking for a coffee shop. I happened to find this one. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are lovely. I highly recommend the sweet potato latte. It's sweet and delicious.

Nice place for quick coffee and sweet. Yes, we tried the Vienna coffee it isn’t the Vienna coffee (not strong coffee) we are expecting but we enjoyed the delights. The cheese cake was very good, light and not heavy and sweet. Might be small for some but its a right portion for us. The packaging was very fancy and we like the orange cup😊 Staff were very friendly. I really love their thin cookies.

Cute desserts-only cafe right off the subway line and a convenient place to rest your feet. Desserts are sweet potato themed and were too sweet for my taste. Not as delicate as other Japanese desserts we've tried so far, more like American style sweetness. Great food and good prices! As a vegan family of 5 this was a great restaurant that had a variety of different options and plenty of seating. It was so good we ended up coming coming once for lunch and once for breakfast. We tried a lot of very delicious things on the menu like the tofu fritters, pancakes, egg chicken tartar burger, soy meat cutlet sandwich, and more. Absolutely loved this little vegan restaurant! Highlight of the trip. Each drink comes with a slice of thick toast with a spread - the soy cream cheese was great. Awesome ambience too - really cute cafe

This is the most amazing place on earth. The staff are really friendly, the service is amazing getting water and a ‘warm welcome’ towel as soon as you’re seated. You order on iPads and the food arrives swiftly, we never waited long. If you order a drink in the morning you get free toast, amazing. For breakfast we had pancakes, absolute perfection. I don’t understand other reviews that complain, the food was so good and made so well. I went every morning and evening for a week and have no complaints about the food, service, tables or staff. I also had the curry mayo burger, so delicious and huge with chips included in the price. Also a favourite was the miso pork cutlet sandwich, divine and so flavoursome the miso sauce was similar to a bbq sauce. Fully vegan as well, such a relief to have this place right by our hotel I think if I visit Japan again I would stay nearby just for komeda.

Visited every day for brunch during our stay and had a great experience each time. The food was consistently good and the ordering process was very easy, even for first-time visitors. As Muslim travelers, we found this a safe and reliable option. The location was also very convenient—just a short and easy trip from our hotel in Kyobashi. Highly recommended for a relaxed and satisfying breakfast in Tokyo.

This restaurant is a plant-based eatery operated by Komeda Coffee. They’ve recreated Komeda’s signature dessert, Shiro Noir, without using any animal-derived ingredients—everything here is entirely plant-based. Just like at Komeda Coffee, the staff are kind and welcoming. There are seats for solo diners as well as box-style booths, and the interior is bright and cheerful. My personal recommendation is the grilled soy meat burger(炙りsoyミートバーガー). The spicy sauce adds a delicious kick!

I didn't know before visiting but you need to reserve a time slot which can be done via the tablet inside the entrance. You receive a QR code for notifications to be sent to your phone, although the staff came to the queue anyway to call our numbers. It would have been useful having clear instructions in English as most of the instructions were in Japanese. When my slot was ready I was called forth and seated. From the menu I chose katsu soy ham sandwich, grains salad with sesame dressing and tofu fritters with french fries, tomato ketchup and tartar sauce. The food was all fine but standard cafe fare, although I'd skipped the famous desserts as I'd already eaten enough food to fill me up.

While the prices may be on the higher side typical of Tokyo's train stations, the friendly staff and delectable red bean paste and soft serve ice cream make it worth a visit. However, seating can be limited in the area, prompting visitors to opt for nearby cafes or restaurants.
Went to this store for dessert after a very full dinner, but friend want to eat dessert. I ordered Awa Zenzai. This dessert is popular for its bumpy texture made from Hokkaido-grown glutinous millet, and the harmony between the thick, smooth bean paste and the glutinous millet is exquisite. I love this dessert as it really suits my taste, and it is not super sweet. The bean paste was very flavorful as well.

Looked for a dessert shop after a heavy meal and found this gem. Definitely hit the sweet tooth of mine and had to order 1 more dish.

In the very busy Tokyo Station. We ordered the classic anmitsu and yuzu kakigori since it’s so hot in Japan. Lots of yuzu syrup and peel - so refreshing! The desserts weren’t too sweet; just right.

I like the red beans soup with the roasted rice cakes, maybe a little bit too sweet. Anmitsu is just ok, agar was a bit tougher than I remembered. I didn't like Kuzumochi, more chewy then I like.

I had shiratama cream anmitsu, and it was too sweet for my like. The store is very popular so there is always a queue in front of the store. I waited around 15 minutes today.

Japanese dessert shop in Tokyo station. Their Anmitsu is the best. I actually visited here almost every time I come nearby sometimes just to buy their to-go anmitsu home. The hot green tea is free of charge. Best place to take a rest after a long day of shopping and sightseeing also.

Stepped into this cafe by chance, and so happy with this find! The soft serve is milky and reminds me of hokkaido icecream. It was wonderfully balanced with a side of chestnut cream, koniyaku jelly, peach slices, green tea mochi and red bean paste. Place was filled with locals on a weekday afternoon, yet I was kindly provided an English menu and free flow green tea by the gracious waitress. Some reviews mention it is overly sweet, but Japanese desserts are meant to be taken with the green tea and taken slowly. Thank you.

I had to stop here cause my legs hurt so much so I had to take a seat cause for some reason the entire mall area has not a single bench or seat. There’s so much open space for seats but there isn’t so you are kind of forced to go into a cafe or restaurant. Of course the prices are high as we are in a train station in Tokyo. I got the icecream and it was 410. The prices outside are different from the ones on the menu. There is another nice cafe farther down the hall which I came across after eating here and it had cheaper items and more menu selections. The staff was very nice though.

Established in 1854, Nakamura Tokichi is a renowned matcha shop located in Uji. The brand has expanded its presence to GINZA SIX, the largest commercial facility in Ginza. Visitors can savor their signature matcha delicacies such as kudzu jelly, milk ice cream, and sundaes while immersing themselves in the flavors of this century-old tea shop.
We chanced upon this cozy & yummy restaurant/ cafe while in Ginza. We ordered their signature 13 layers green tea parfait + other green tea desserts since this restaurant/cafe boast its 160 years of making green tea products. It deserved its name after trying all the 4 different types of desserts. In my opinion, I super like their signature 13 layers parfait & the matcha ice cream. The other 2 are kinda strong taste, cater for those who really enjoy the bitter aftertaste of matcha. The service is efficient & friendly. A nice atmosphere to chill with friends. Next time we will try their food. Visit date : 15th February 2025

I love it. It’s on the pricey side but well worth it. I like Japanese traditional dessert so.. you can discount me a little on that.. I almost always ordered the most expensive one on the menu if it is not too much expensive on the first try.. then might come down to cheaper ones in later visits.. I have a motto, if the most expensive one cannot lure me back then forget it..

This is parfait heaven where the slight bitterness of green tea brings balance to the sweetness of the dessert. Amazing. I waited in a queue about 8 people deep on a Wednesday afternoon and was seated after 10 mins. Staff and service were efficient and friendly. I will definitely return whenever I’m in the area.

Best matcha parfait I've had in Tokyo! Also in the gift shop out front I was looking for a particular matcha loaf which they didn't currently have in stock. But one of the workers saw how sad I was about it and went out of her way to go to the basement and see if the shipment came in yet. She was so kind and sweet and I very much appreciated it! ☺️💕Top notch service

Stopped by Nakamura Tokichi in Ginza and it completely lived up to the hype. The parfait was so balanced and comforting, with a really clean matcha taste. I also bought their matcha powder since you can take home five cans per person. Perfect place for a calm matcha break.

Nakamura Tokichi at Ginza Six is my go-to spot whenever I crave authentic Japanese green tea and, of course, their signature matcha. I’ve visited several times, but often the most popular items sell out quickly—proof of how loved this place is! The matcha parfait is absolutely perfect: refreshing, balanced, and not too sweet. For green tea lovers, the soba infused with Japanese green tea is also worth a try. If you’re a true fan of matcha, this café is a must-visit in Ginza—just make sure to come early so you don’t miss out!

If you're on the hunt for a unique dessert experience, look no further than Roll Ice Cream Factory. This trendy ice cream shop has taken the concept of traditional Thai rolled ice cream and transformed it into a delightful treat that’s perfect for any occasion. Originating from New York, this popular spot has made waves not just in the U.S., but also across Japan, captivating locals with its fun and interactive approach to dessert-making.
Cute place, can watch the ice cream being made (rolled) right in front of you, would recommend if you're in the area! :) Many different sets to choose from as well with different bases, toppings etc! We went in the evening and didn't have to wait , but during the day it's probably more crowded.
Caroline G — Google review
The ice cream was a treat to see made, but only worth a short wait. At 30 minutes it was okay for us, but some have waited much longer. The portion was kind of small, and the mix-ins weren’t really worth it. I got graham cracker mixed in and it was impossible to tell because they used such a small cookie and then smashed it to bits. I’d go again but only at an off time.
Courtney — Google review
No wait to order even on a warm Sunday. Very kind service. Made sure I was ready to watch and take photos. Ice cream is mediocre.
Mikala — Google review
Ice cream is rolled and decorated so it looks very cute. However, as with many such „super cute“ shops, the taste is mediocre, you mostly pay for the instagram-worthy looks of the food. Sometimes you will have to wait for quite a while, I‘m not sure if the quality of the ice cream is worth it. But if you’re after cute food photos and the ultimate Harajuku experience, it’s a place worth visiting.

Expensive 220 and up, just too sweet and small for an acceptable cup of ice cream. Because it's rolled together, it tastes like normal ice cream, too. Not very special there are better choices in the area.

Located in Omotesando, Glaciel offers a unique twist on traditional soft serve and gelato. The shop is known for its adorable ice cream cakes in shapes like ladybugs and hedgehogs, which are available for take-out. They specialize in creating ice cream cakes with high-quality ice cream sandwiched between classic sponge cakes. Additionally, they produce their own Hokkaido milk-based gelato that can be enjoyed at the store or taken to go.
Tasty ice cream! We originally came at 1100 misled by some of the photos of lunch items (that is probably their Sapporo branch only or a previous location, since this seems to just be a small first floor store? Please note their modified hours through 20 Jun, photo attached). This is a small storefront with an ice cream counter, and displays on the remaining walls for their takeout ice cream sandwiches which looks amazing, cream cookie sandwiches (which they include with your ice cream and are somehow even creamier than the ice cream), and the window display of fancy ice cream cakes. Very good, real pistachio flavor, rich and very dark chocolate, as well as the staff favorite plain milk - all winners!

Excellent place for gelatos and desserts. The melon ice cream( not the sorbet) is worth the extra charge. Amazing. The matcha tea ice cream was good as well. But I highly recommend the melon since it is unique! The rest of the desserts look amazing as well. The place is also very cute. Nestled in between homes with a cute outdoor seating or upstairs inside seating.

Really delicious ice creams, sorbets and ice cream cakes! Today's special was Muscat grape sorbet and you can see actual bits of fruit in it, really refreshing! First floor is a take out where you can buy ice cream to eat there and then or ice cream cakes to take away. The cakes are well packaged in a cooler bag and dried ice to prevent them from defrosting for up to 2 hours! Didn't try the cafe but I would expect the same delicious cakes are served!

Gelateria Acquolina is a charming Italian-style gelato shop in Yutenji, offering a wide selection of both classic and innovative flavors. While patrons love traditional options like pistachio and chocolate, the gelateria isn't afraid to experiment with unconventional combinations such as basil, tomato, and olive oil. Customers can expect high-quality products that are constantly evolving with the seasons. The store allows customers to mix two or three flavors in a cup or cone for a personalized experience.
Eating gelato during winter is the best! Too bad they ran out of pistachio flavor so I ordered Milk and wine. This is by far one of the best gelato I’ve ever tried. The texture is very smooth and it’s not too sweet. A bit pricey but should try once if you are in the area. Another cup is yuzu flavor which is very refreshing! Highly recommended!

We went on a weekend and it was really crowded. There were few tables inside for 2 people. We ordered the Gelato Soft Cream (Maple Flavor) & Gelato with 2 flavors on a cup (Pistacchio & Olive Oil). I've read that the Gelato Soft Cream is only available during weekends. I think it changes flavor as well. I enjoyed the texture but the maple flavor was too sweet for me. As for the Gelato. I liked the Pistacchio best. It really tasted like the flavor we chose. It was not sweet and you can really taste the ingredients.

It’s the number one ice cream store ranked by locals in japan and it sure earned its title. Premium ingredients and technique makes it a must stop when visiting Tokyo. Flavors contains heavily seasonal items so you have to check consistently to find if your flavor is on sale. Now premium flavors costs more but takes suica payment now

Such a delicious gelato. It truly may be the closest thing I’ve found to actual Italian gelato. There are great flavors to choose from, and the pistachio was rather delightful. Prices are standard. Friendly staff. I will certainly go back.

Yummy gelato randomly located in yutenji. Tons of flavors. A little expensive but very rich and full in flavor. I recommended the pistachio. Seems to get busy in the evenings. A few tiny tables inside and one bench outside. Some of the staff speak English.

Very creamy and delicious gelato. Price is out of scale (600 yen for a small cup) but this is Japan. Anyway it's recommend to taste a real gelato.

This is probably one of the best gelato you can eat in Tokyo! It offers a decent selection of gelato tastes. The gelato here certainly tastes good and real and it will satisfy the most demanding Italian :-) Unfortunately it is overpriced with the absurd rule to have different prices for different number of tastes - - although this is common in Japan. The place is lovely but over staffed.

Sasaya Cafe is a trendy and contemporary eatery that caters to a diverse range of tastes, whether vegan or not, by offering wholesome plant-based meals and desserts. The cafe's spacious and wheelchair-accessible setting near Tokyo Skytree provides a unique dining experience.
Great cafe with friendly staff and very tasty food. Great vegan find! Had taro special, served with a few different salads including my favourite delicious ginger greens. It came with rice and soup. Husband had the tempeh battered with breadcrumbs, again his dish came with a tasty soup, rice and salad. Both came with a drink of choice, I had a Japanese herbal tea and he had a coffee. Everything was delicious, tasted fresh. Big portions as well! Really nice ambience and the staff helped us out with the menu to translate in English.

Total score would be a 4.5. What you eat and what you pay for comes for a very good price. I am highly lactose intolerant so places like this are heaven for me. Everything tasted really good and comes in nice abundant portions. For parents: they do have high chairs and the dining room is spacious and there's enough room between tables for your toddlers to chill.

*EDIT* Don't go on weekends. The staff are overwhelmed and they have a terrible system if you want to find a seat. A really bad experience and I wouldn't recommend it. A really spacious cafe with a terrace area that is dog friendly! A wonderfully healthy menu to choose from - there's a little something for everybody! The Hummus Sandwich had lots of flavour and was surprisingly filling. Same with the Breaded & Fried Tempeh with Rice! I've tried a lot of plant based dishes that really lacked flavour, but this cafe was different! Highly recommend for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foodies alike! The interior was a bit humid/hot. That was my only complaint from my visit. But I got used to it after a while. Can't wait to go back and try their desserts!

After a lovely stroll through Oyoko Waterside Park, my mom and I enjoyed a delightful vegan meal at Sasaya Cafe. There are two areas for dining: the sun deck and main room. We chose the latter in favor of air conditioning~Although their food menu is limited, their meal sets are absolute and fulfilling! Asides from their standard menu, they offer a specialized day meal set—I had their curry which was divine! While we sat and chatted, 40s jazz music played serenely in the background. All in all, Sasaya Cafe is a perfect place for dining!

Being passionate about dark chocolate, I spotted this shop on the review made by the website damecacao on Tokyo chocolate makers. I bought 3 chocolate tablets and drank one hot chocolate drink. There are a lot of positives in my review. First, I was super happy to find in Tokyo very dark chocolate tablets, meaning 90% cocoa. In Japan, it is often hard to find dark chocolate above 70%. They have two types of 90% cocoa bars, one being a kind of Ciiccolate di Modica although much more refined. Second, the packaging is really nicely done with a lot of information. lt reminds me of the Geneva based Orfeve tablet bars (see a previous review). Unfortunately, the info in Japan is different from what you can find in Europe, and it makes it hard to compare European and Japanese chocolate bars. Third, their matcha chocolate tables is exceptional... possibly the best in the world high flavour that remains for quite a long time on your palate. Not too high in sugar killing matcha taste, unlike many other matcha chocolate bars (and yes I do not like sugar) especially in Europe. The quality of macha is also definitely higher. Fourth, the tablet has been very well designed with smaller and bigger bits and also exhibits different surfaces (flat or striped). It reminds me of the Zurich based Garçoa tablet design. What could be improved? The hot chocolate drink was very intense in taste. Unfortunately, they have only one choice, which is quite limited.

APRIL 2023 Visited this specialty chocolate store and ordered the parfait and chocolate soda. The drink was light and refreshing; combining rich chocolate with citrus flavor. The parfait uses cacao beans from various regions around the globe to make different components of the parfait such as the chocolate ice cream, biscuit crumble and sauce. It was not too sweet and the strawberry jelly added a fruity tartness, pretty tasty. The staff was happy to explain when I had some questions about the menu items.

Sweet Heaven number 5: Minimal: A chocolate shop which focuses on the purity of chocolate. The flavours of their chocolate bars vary based on the countries where the cacao beans come from without any other ingredients which is amazing! We were lost on how we should start sampling and enjoying the coffee, but the warm and friendly staff stepped right in and guided us through their whole process and the ingredients used, helping us better understand their unique selling point and their awesome product. The ones we tried had a nutty taste, fruity taste and even herbal taste. Following that we tried the cacao fruit pulp drink which was made from the flesh of the cocoa fruit which is amazing. Light and refreshing with citrus and light dark chocolate notes. Last but not least, the crepe. It was made up of a rolled up crepe filled with a pastry cream of sorts, chocolate bits made from cacao beans from Bolivia which have it a citrusy flavour. Topped with a caramel ice cream, Apple cider jelly and toasted nuts for garnish. It went so well together, tasting nice and light when eaten with the cider jelly and the caramel ice cream was not too sweet giving it a nice balance. Artisanal chocolate in an awesome shop, what’s not to like? 8/10 for brilliant execution and uniqueness but not full marks because it’s an acquired flavour that only chocolate lovers would enjoy.

I came here to eat with my friend and the communication was kinda bad. I ordered only one drink and I think the cashier got it mixed up and gave me two drinks. I ordered one meal but it seems like they didn't put it on the bill, my friend went to clear up the miscommunication with the cashier and they still got it wrong and didn't give me the food and they only cancel one drink so I just let that slide. Overall, I wish they could understand what we as a customer are trying to say, hopefully the communication was better

Both the desserts and the tea are good. Every item on the menu that I've had has been great. There are outlets at the counter too, so it's a comfortable place to work. Also, a building has been put up in front of the counter seats now too, so the late afternoon sun doesn't shine into your eyes anymore. It's very comfortable now. Staff is very friendly, although there are occasional mishaps. In general, this place is great. However the only thing is, if you get up to use the bathroom (which is on another floor), you'd better tell the staff that you're coming back. Once, they threw away my drink even though I had left my jacket on my chair as a sign I'd be coming back.

Trash customer service! While waiting for my wife, I notice this shop (Nana's green tea) has a long queue (right to left, along side the front of their allocated space in the mall). I go and fetch my wife so that we can take some rest here. When I come back, there is no queue anymore. My wife starts looking at the menu at the front counter where there is THIS ONE FEMALE EMPLOYEE currently billing other customers. Notice my wife is standing at the spot belong to the other allocation albeit it seems to be unoccupied or under renovation as there is no shop open in that spot yet, I told her we should stand on the other side in front of the Nana's green tea so that we can start a right to left queue should new people come. There is one new couple coming after us and they stand in the previous place where my wife just stand. Mind you the employee working the counter witness the whole thing so far and there is no crowd at that time. Another employee from inside comes out and told us we have queued the wrong way, we should queue left to right which means using the space that is not belong to their shop for their own convenience and totally contradict with what I see before. We step back to the other side and the employee working the counter refuse to service us and insist we go to the back of the queue despite witnessing the whole thing so far AND also see what her colleague has told us. The couple that comes after us also told us that's fine for us to go in first but at this point we are so tired of the whole situation and just leave. Lesson learn for Nana's green tea: - Train your employee better so they don't act like robot in human flesh. - If it's so hard/expensive to have a dedicated staff for greeting, maybe set up a queue line or at least a pointer so customer know which way to queue. - You can not use your own greed to tell your customers is in the wrong especially when the shop next to your open, you would need to use your own space anyway. - There is almost limitless matcha shop in Tokyo and customer has choices.

The cornflakes, softcream, matcha pudding and agar was very well organized. I loved the flavors with crunchy feeling. My friend had a bowl of noodle which was ok like traditional japanese udon. But she loved greentea anmitsu because she had it 2 days hahaha. Overall was good. Would visit again if possible.

In the lively Hiroo area of Tokyo, you'll find Melting in the Mouth, a charming cafe that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Situated just a brief stroll from Hiroo Station, this cozy spot is adored by young patrons for its vibrant and nutritious offerings.
Love this little shop and always visit here when we are at Hiroo! They are dog friendly and offer a good selection of sweets and drinks. We always get the chocolate chip cookie, even though it's pretty pricey for the size, it is so chocolatey and gooey, really makes your mouth melt! 🫠

It was quite good. Narrow eating space and the ordering/pickup counter is in the back, so you kind of have to shuffle around others to order and move. Cramped. Ice cream was rich but not overly sweet. Strawberry sundae was nice. Peanut butter shake was ok. Portions are small if you are used to bigger American sizes. Polite staff, spoke English, and were helpful and cheery. Seemed busy for a late night treat, maybe a popular spot?

A dog friendly place that serve the best melty cookie! I had a dark double choco chip cookie, it's literally melt in your mouth. Goes so well with their soft serve ice cream as well. As it is a pet friendly place, we get to sit inside the shop with our dog. Which is quite hard to find in Tokyo. Kinda wish the place has bigger space to sit in.

Came on a Saturday afternoon and place wasn't too busy. Ordered the Chocolate sundae at 580 yen, it quite decent but for the price somewhat lacking. The icecream is a nice milk flavor. They also have cookies and coffee They have a few seats bar stool inside and the atmosphere is quite cute. Worth trying if your in the area.

The ice cream is so good! The plain milk soft ice cream is the standard one they have with some limited verities (toppings) that stay for short periods of times. I highly recommend trying their doughnuts which are surprisingly one of the best I have had! Edit: They no longer serve doughnuts 😢but rather have cookies.

I have recently bought cookies and a brownie from this place via UberEats and let me tell you. I am afraid. I got the Chocolate Walnut Cookies, warmed it up in the microwave and took a bite. It wasn’t like all the other sad, dry Japanese cookies. These were gooey, sweet and literally melts in your mouth cookies. Never have I had a cookie like this in Japan. NEVER. I’ve had the peanut butter brownies and I don’t even want to talk about it scared of it being sold out. I’m scared of writing a review because what if all the cookies get sold out and there’s none for me anymore?! But alas, this place deserves all the amazing reviews it gets. Thank you for making such amazing treats and I’ll try not to eat too much and get fat (another fear unlocked)

Ballon is a charming vegan cafe located in Naka-Meguro, just a short walk from the station. This Paris-inspired eatery is known for its mouthwatering falafel sandwiches and soft-serve vegan ice cream made from soymilk and allergen-free ingredients. The menu offers various ways to enjoy their golden falafel balls, whether in a pita, salad, or on a skewer.
Ordered a spicy falafel sandwich and mixed berry soda. The falafel sandwich is one of the best ones I've had in Japan. It was delicious and had a little bit of a spice to it. (Rare for here!) The mixed berry soda was also delicious, and next time I want to try their soft serve.

We ordered the spicy falafel sand, snack falafel , tomato soup. it was so good! Falafel was fresh and soft. The dip was so damn delicious. and ended it with pistachio salt crumble vegan icecream which was amazing!

This is a tiny little falafel place in Nakameguro, a little outside the main commercial district. You order from the window on the sidewalk, and if you eat-in it's in a little tiny room off to the the side. The room is very pleasant, with vaguely Turkish aesthetic accents. I ordered a spicy falafel sandwich and my wife ordered the regular falafel salad bowl. We were both blown away with how good this was. We've eaten falafel in so many parts of the world, so I think we've got a good foundation from which to make a judgement. This is not classic falafel. The balls themselves are a little bit smoother and fluffier than the the coarsly ground chickpea balls I'm used to, but they were still super crispy on the outside. There also wasn't a heavy sesame tahini flavor, like most falafel. Instead, there was soft, smooth, and silky eggplant. Plus a bunch of other salad-like marinated vegetables. Also, some potato salad. All these things worked really well together, to create an experience that is probably best characterized as scrambled falafel. It has the right combination of flavors and textures, but they are all coming from unexpected directions. That makes this sandwich an experience. I recommend you give it a try. The only part of it that wasn't fantastic was the pita. It wasn't bad. But it was soft and chewy, with almost no toasty Maillard reaction. I wish it had just a slightly more substantial texture. So, I'll probably order the salad next time. And there will definitely be a next time, because this was a phenomenal lunch.

Second time at Ballon. Always a good falafel wraps! This time I ordered spicy one and although not very spicy, the falafel and veggies are great. The pita also was very soft and it goes well with all the toppings. They also have vegan ice cream. Highly recommended if you are looking for vegan food

OMG, this is the best falafel I’ve had in Tokyo so far! I ordered the spicy falafel salad bowl and the flavors are outstanding. There’s still a tingle in my mouth from the spice (just the right amount of spice). The falafels had a great texture on the outside and flavor on the inside. A must stop if you’re in the Meguro area! Staff are welcoming and friendly, too!
Aaron D — Google review
There was a single person who is preparing the food, and it was nice falafel. The only thing I missed in the falafel is humus (as they don’t have in the shop ) But still the quantity, and the quality was perfect . Their tomato soup was very fantastic. It’s worth to have a hot tomato soup and with coriander also was very good. The falafel salad is also tasty & filling. The vegan ice cream is also a good idea and one of the rarest place to find the vegan ice cream. It’s really worth a visit.

Delicious falafel salad bowl and falafel sand. Amazing fried eggplant, very juicy but the vegan meat was super crunchy, but the bread was a bit try The vegan soft ice cream was great even without the use of dairy products. Raspberry flavour topping slays!! A mix of sweet and sour, smooth texture Not too sweet iced soy latte, recommended A go-to place for vegans
Atan1ie — Google review
My friend randomly choose this place for a quick lunch bite. I have to say it was a great choice!! They make Falafels fresh per order and it tasted amazing. I loved it so much that I got extra one to go (for my mom). She had it much later but she loved it also. I got spicy one but it was not spicy at all. This one little sandwich contains lots of different veggies too. I would go there again and try all other one. My friend had salad bowl and that looked really good too. It’s good or both vegan and nom vegans.

Oimoyasan Koshin in Asakusa is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. This specialty store is renowned for its purple-fleshed sweet potato ice cream, which boasts an incredibly rich and authentic flavor that will leave you wanting more. The soft, purple-hued ice cream not only looks amazing but also offers a delightful taste experience.
Randomly bought some snacks from this stall and was pleasantly surprised! The sweet potato custard was light but creamy and fluffy — melts in your mouth. The steamed Japanese sweet potatoes drizzled in sweet sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds were really delicious! I’ve never tasted sweet potatoes as good as this — the combination is just perfect. Would highly recommend!
WX T — Google review
We chanced upon Oimoyasan Koshin while walking along the streets connecting to Senso-ji. This is a take-out shop specializing in locally-sourced sweet potato snacks and is highly rated on Tabelog. We bought the fried sweet potato and the sweet potato custard tart. The fried sweet potato was honestly extremely good! It’s lightly fried and then drenched in sweet syrup, but then again the syrup isn’t so overpowering that it overcomes the natural sweetness of the fried sweet potato. However, the syrup is very sticky so do prepare some wet tissues on hand if not it will create some very sticky situation! The sweet potato custard tart, however, is not to our liking. We actually tried sweet potato custard tart at some other places as well and we didn’t like it, but we wanted to give ourselves a second chance. We didn’t like it because it was too creamy and milky with a weirdly soft texture that we aren’t really used to. That said, it doesn’t mean that it tastes bad; it just didn’t align with our tastebuds.
Marcus T — Google review
The sweet potato cake (¥370) is a soft, moist treat that really brings out the natural sweetness of seasonal sweet potatoes. It has a smooth, creamy texture with a gentle sweetness, not too overpowering, making it comforting and satisfying. You can taste subtle buttery notes and a delicate baked sweet potato aroma!
Melvin J — Google review
I ordered the Glazed Japanese Sweet Potatoes and really enjoyed the combination of the soft potatoes with the sweet sauce — such a satisfying treat. Not sure if they’re meant to be served slightly cold, but I didn’t mind it at all. Service was friendly and fast, and there’s a trash can available for easy clean-up after eating. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and want a quick, tasty snack.

Dining Experience @ Oimoyasan Koshin. . Founded by Koheiji Saito in 1876 as a sweet potato wholesaler, this heritage brand expanded in 1985 to retail specialty stores dedicated to sweet potato dessert confectionery. . Today, beloved treats include candied sweet potatoes, sweet potato tarts, sweet potato paste, and sweet potato ice cream. . The Daigaku Imo / Candied Sweet Potato (JPY ¥740 for 200g) features chunks of satsumaimo / sweet potato, fried in vegetable oil, then glazed with a blend of honey or white sugar, water, light soy sauce or dark soy sauce, and mirin rice wine. Finished with a sprinkling of sesame seeds. . Bite in and you get the slightly crisp crunchy exterior that gives way to a tender soft interior, bursting with earthy floral sweet nutty savoury flavour.

Came out of the train station and I couldn’t resist the smell. I normally look up reviews before trying anything and this by far was the best treat I have ever had as a sweet potato lover. Come early around 1000, it’s the freshest time. I got the sweet potato cake and 200grams. Perfect snack!

This is a must try if you love sweet potato! I'm so glad I let my cravings won lol The sweet potato cake is the perfect texture and sweetness. But the fried sweet potato, insane! The syrup from the fried sweet potato is very sticky though so if you are going to get it for to-go, be prepared to wash your hand or something. But other than that this is a must try snack!!!

Masudaen Sohonten is a historic Japanese tea shop that has been around for 150 years. It's known for offering Halal-certified ice cream, making it a rare find in Tokyo. The shop also sells various types of Japanese tea, making it a great place to pick up souvenirs. Visitors praise the friendly and knowledgeable elderly lady who runs the shop and her willingness to help customers navigate their extensive selection of green teas and matcha.
The best matcha place in Tokyo, in addition to the fact that it is halal. We went and the place was crowded, but we were able to enter and take matcha from Kyoto, picked this month, with high quality, and we took a bowl for the matcha. The woman who works there is old, and she often takes it with her child. They were very nice and helpful. She gave us a matcha wafer as a gift because she was a little late with the bill. I hoped I had taken a lot of matcha or that they would ship to Saudi Arabia.

As a muslim, it’s not easy to find halal soft serve ice cream in Tokyo. As we were in Asakusa, we stopped by here and ordered their matcha + vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was creamy and taste good. It somehow reminds me of McDonald’s ice cream. For 400 yen, I said it’s worth the price. If you’re a big fan of macha, shop away as they have various selections of macha at their shop.

I went in the store a few days ago hoping to find some matcha and encountered a rude owner instead. She saw me holding my phone and said I couldn’t take any pictures in the store. Falafel Brothers, a takeout-only spot in Roppongi since 2017, has quickly become a go-to for Tokyo's falafel enthusiasts. Their fried-to-order, crispy and gluten-free falafels come in sandwich or salad form with a variety of toppings to choose from. The menu is all-vegan with plenty of gluten-free options and the staff are knowledgeable. You can dine in or grab a quick bite to go.
This was a big crowd pleaser for our vegan family of 5! Stoped here for lunch soon after they opened and had plenty of seats available. The set was such a great deal and was very filling. We thoroughly enjoyed the falafel sandwiches and the customizability that you can have on the flavors of your sandwich. I'm told that the burger was good too. Loved all of it so much that we went to another location later in our trip!
Aiden S — Google review
The Vegetarian 5 Point Review – Falafel Brothers Taste The falafel sandwich, whether full or half, was the clear winner with a solid 9/10. Flavorful, well-balanced, and satisfying. Everything else missed the mark. The Rapper Falafel and Kaarage were dry, lacking sauces, and difficult to finish — both get a 5/10. The salad bowl was decent but unremarkable, around a 6/10. Ambience 6/10. Not much space to sit, especially during peak lunch hours when you might find yourself waiting in line. The tables are small, barely fitting two people, and it’s not very friendly for bigger groups. Works best as a quick solo or duo meal spot. Service 3/10. Started out fine, but when we needed another Pepsi mid-meal to help with the dry Kaarage and Rapper Falafel, it took 10 minutes to arrive. A drink shouldn’t take that long, especially when people are already eating. Felt like staff were rigidly following order queues without using a bit of common sense to prioritize active diners. Value for Money 9/10. Very affordable, especially considering how hard it can be to find solid vegetarian and vegan options in Japan. If you can overlook the slow service, the food — specifically the falafel sandwich — is excellent for the price. Recommendations Get the falafel sandwich and skip the rest unless they improve the dry items with better sauces. Go during off-peak hours if you want a seat, and don’t expect quick service if it’s crowded.
Amogh ( — Google review
Had a lovely dinner at Falafel Brothers. We tried the falafel wrap and the falafel full sandwich, both as sets that came with a side and a drink. The falafel full sandwich was definitely the star. The falafels were crispy, and the sauce was delicious. The falafel wrap was good as well, but I felt the sauce was less generous and not spread as evenly as in the full sandwich. The sides were great. You can’t go wrong with potato wedges and waffle fries. The drinks, on the other hand, could be improved. We had the rooibos tea and lemonade. The tea wasn’t as good as other rooibos teas we’ve had in the city, and the lemonade was a bit too sweet. That said, what really matters is that they excel at falafels. It’s truly a great place for a meal. My recommendation would be to try different sandwiches in various styles to get a taste of them all.
Amit N — Google review
Love this menu! Everything is really good and affordable, the falafel is so good, really decent portions and worth getting the sets for a couple hundred yen extra. The mango juice was so yum and so needed after visiting the Nintendo store, the pizza slice was really good and cheap so I don’t know what people mean saying pizza in Japan is expensive because it isn’t here :)
Jemma — Google review
Whenever I’m travelling, I crave food from back home. We tried this place for a quick bite and ordered falafels. I was expecting them to be just like the ones from home with the white Tahini sauce. Instead they were hard and the sauce was not at all complimenting the falafels. Sorry!

Thank you for the kind and fast service. It’s not the staff’s fault that I have a little problem with this restaurant. But the whole concept is off. The food was edible, the falafels were okay but the rest didnt have any flavour. The baba ghanoush was the worst part. And my iced tea. Because it tasted like water. Thats not an exaggeration. The place is cute with the freedom wall and everything BUT that falafel pita table is horrible and looks like it was taken out of my nightmares. Those salad leaves 😭 Chill went down my spine when I accidentally touched it.

Cozy atmosphere, although they want you to refrain from entering their shop should you wear perfume... Inside, the atmosphere is oriented towards healing stone stuff, and is perfumed with the shop's own essential oils, so from there why prohibiting customers wearing their own perfume is a mystery. Food is OK, but portions are rather small for the price. Healthy food which I'd recommend but nothing very exceptional.

That modern minimalist Japanese aesthetic shines through in this magnificent property. The service and hospitality is impeccable and down to the smallest details. I tend to leave a mess of a charging cable octopus next to my bed. I came back in, it was all properly tied neatly. The turn down service prepped my bed to really feel so inviting for the night’s sleep after a night out of town. The staff at the lobby are mostly multi lingual and offered easier communication. I stayed at The Tokyo Edition, Toranomon from September 19–24, 2025, and it was simply outstanding! ✨ After a disappointing experience at The Ritz-Carlton Osaka, this hotel truly felt like balm for the soul. From the very beginning, everything was flawless: • The breakfast team was incredibly warm and thoughtful. When our window table was accidentally double-booked, they surprised us with a waffle decorated with “We wish you a wonderful day” – such a small gesture, yet so touching. • Hotel Manager Chiko Kitaoka was wonderful and kindly arranged a late check-out for us. • The concierge and front desk staff were always friendly, supportive, and genuinely attentive. • Our room was fantastic, with a breathtaking view over Tokyo. This stay exceeded all my expectations and became a true highlight of my Japan trip. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel – an unforgettable experience! 🇯🇵💫

We really wanted to love this hotel—but it turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of our trip. During our stay, we tried to book a table for sunset at the lobby bar. What followed was a complete service failure. First, the bar reception told us it was first-come-first-serve and that reservations weren’t possible. We were shocked—last year, we had a confirmed reservation for the same bar at the same time. Later that evening, we asked again at the reception desk. The staff repeated the same line until we mentioned our Platinum and Gold status. Only then did he say he would “try” to see if he could reserve a table for us. When we asked if he could call us back to confirm, his response was unbelievable: he said he couldn’t call guests back and that we would need to message him through the app to follow up. At a so-called five-star hotel, this is absurd. The next day, we asked again—this time we were told the lobby was fully booked. Only after escalating to a manager did we finally get a table in our own hotel. The experience at Gold Bar was equally poor. Staff were inattentive and dismissive—we had to stand up to ask for service and even to request the bill. There were many other disappointing moments: • No recognition of our Bonvoy status at check-in. • No mention or attempt at an upgrade. • Staff tried to avoid offering our welcome drinks until we raised it At the spa, things weren’t any better. When we first inquired about massages, we were told the 60-minute option only covered the upper body. So we deliberately booked the 90-minute session to ensure a full-body treatment and specifically requested focus on our legs after weeks of walking in Japan. Despite this, the therapist spent less than ten minutes on our legs. For a 90-minute treatment, that is unacceptable and shows a complete disregard for guest requests. You’d think by paying top-dollar you will get the epitome of modern Japanese luxury—but what you actually get is a team of poorly trained, young, non-Japanese, and often pretentious staff who have no understanding of true hospitality. At times, we felt like we were dealing with nightclub bouncers rather than five-star hotel employees. Inside the Edition Toranomon, you don’t feel like you’re in Japan at all. After a full month across Japan staying in properties of all levels—even small, family-run ryokans—we can confidently say that every other place treated us with more warmth, respect, and professionalism than this. Despite being a long-time Bonvoy member, I will look elsewhere for future high-end stays in Tokyo. Japanese-owned brands still understand what true hospitality means. Special thanks to Diego from Concierge who was the opposite and was very helpful throughout our stay.

We had the best experience at Tokyo edition the rooftop bar and the gold bar are excellent places to be and having amazing vibe . I especially want to mention Nirmal From ballet services who was so kind and patient and helpful and getting us a ride back after the night as our Uber kept canceling, and nirmal Provided us the best service while we waited and he was friendly and professional, and made sure that we were able to get a ride back to our hotel. We felt taken care of and at home even though we were not staying at the hotel. Highly recommend the hotel and the staff here is amazing specially nirmal. It’s amazing to meet staff that can step up and help guests in tricky situations. Highly recommend the rooftop bar and the gold bar to everybody and definitely say hi to nirmal

This hotel is absolutely incredible. The Tokyo Tower Premier Guest Room is breathtaking — the photos truly don’t do the view justice. Seeing Tokyo Tower lit up from your room feels surreal. The hospitality at The Edition is on another level. Every staff member goes out of their way to make your stay special — kind, attentive, and genuinely warm. You can tell they take pride in every detail. You won’t enter without multiple staff greeting you with smiles and won’t leave without multiple staff saying bye and being there in case you need assistance. I honestly think this place should be rated higher. The design, energy, and views are unmatched. It’s modern, luxurious, and feels effortlessly cool. I’d 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo.

I’ve been to Tokyo seven times, and this stay at The Tokyo EDITION easily ranks among the best experiences I’ve ever had—not just in Japan, but anywhere in the world. The hotel itself embodies quiet luxury: modern design, breathtaking views, and a calm, sophisticated energy. But what truly separates this property is the extraordinary level of service. Bradley, the restaurant manager, deserves special recognition. Breakfast each morning became the highlight of my day because of the way he led his team—with warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality. Bradley’s professionalism set the tone for the entire experience; he made every guest feel personally cared for, remembering details and ensuring each meal felt exceptional. The hosts and staff followed his example perfectly—gracious, poised, and consistently attentive. Their collective effort made my two-week stay feel seamless and memorable from start to finish. After seven trips to Tokyo, I can confidently say that The Tokyo EDITION is now my go-to home in the city. I’ll be a client for life, thanks to Bradley and the incredible team that made this visit truly unforgettable.

⚠️ Warning: one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. Everything here was disorganized, and the front desk staff showed a complete lack of professionalism and care. When an issue arose during check-out, they were dismissive, unhelpful, and even made up excuses instead of resolving it politely. You’d think that by paying top-dollar you would experience the epitome of modern Japanese luxury — but what you actually get is a team of poorly trained, mostly non-Japanese, and surprisingly pretentious staff who have little understanding of true hospitality. At times, it felt more like dealing with nightclub security than employees of a five-star hotel. There was also a male Asian staff member at the night reception, wearing glasses, who lied to me repeatedly about several things that were simply untrue. His attitude and lack of integrity were completely unacceptable for a property of this supposed standard. To make matters worse, after I checked out, I left a gift at the concierge desk for my friend, even carefully writing their name on it to ensure proper delivery. The staff accidentally gave it to someone else, and it went missing. No one even apologized or took responsibility until my friend personally came to the hotel to locate it. This level of carelessness and disorganization is shocking for a so-called luxury hotel. I expected courtesy, honesty, and accountability — none of which were shown. It felt as though guests’ time and concerns didn’t matter at all. I had been genuinely looking forward to this stay, but the uncaring and disorganized attitude of the staff completely ruined the experience. There was also a female Asian manager on duty who I thought would show more empathy and understanding, but unfortunately, she was equally unhelpful and dismissive. I want to warn everyone — do not stay here. Your money and peace of mind are far better spent elsewhere. I truly hope management reflects on this and improves their service standards.

ICE MONSTER omote-sando is a popular Japanese dessert spot that takes kakigori, a traditional shaved ice treat, to the next level. They offer fluffy shaved ice topped with whole fruits, flavorful sauces, and delicious sweet toppings. One of their must-try options is the Bubble Milk Tea-flavored kakigori, which comes with a separate serving of tapioca pearls and milky sauce for an extra indulgent experience.
we entered after catching a glimpse of their ice-shaved marvels. It was totally worth the time we waited in line, less than 15 minutes, to get a taste of the fantastic Mango Sensation. Fresh, fuity, healthy, simply delicious. Other fruit options are also available. The staff was kind and helpful, even if we don't understand a word of Japanese. We loved it here!
Gen P — Google review
The shaved ice is an interesting thing to try while in Tokyo, but not sure if this is the best option. The place is in a busy district which means you have to wait in a rather slow queue. When you get in you have to order one item per person. The shaved ice portions are huge, so we bought one to share and as the second item ordered a tapioca milk tea. We didn’t manage to finish either one. The tapioca drink was a bit too sweet. Eating the shaved ice was interesting, but the almond taste we chose was very strong and artificial. Don’t recommend that. Felt a bit queasy after eating it.
Janika L — Google review
I had to try it cause i thought the name and design of the place is super cute! Definitely not worth the price though!! And everyone HAS to order something in order to be seated, which sucks cause it's hard to finish this huge shaved ice on your own!
Lisa T — Google review
The ice cream was good but the overall experience was pretty off-putting. Only two of the three of us wanted drinks, and they would not allow the third person to sit even though it's just counter service and the seating area is open seating. The upstairs was almost completely empty so it didn't really make sense.
Kevin C — Google review
A little pricey but was delicious! Definitely share one of the ice bowls as they are HUGE! We got some little cakes with faces on it and some really nice herbal tea. Nice place if you want a break from walking but nothing particularly special.
Chubb L — Google review
Nice small shop for sweets... They serve 2 floor.. with thei signatur is flavored ice shaved served with vary topping, namely strawberry, coffee, etc
Saya G — Google review
The taste is really good! Recommend also in winter because inside you won't feel the weather and they give you warm water to warm you mouth and body if it is too cold. The price is not cheap, it may look big, but it sorbet texture with air on it. But I recommend it to try it!
Soothing L — Google review
Absolutely amazing Kakigori! One thing to know is that when it's super busy, you are supposed to wait outside in a line before going into the store! Another thing to know is that each person is supposed to buy something, they do not allow sharing! Someone could buy a drink or something, but each person is supposed to make a purchase. So while the Kakigori tasted great, the rules are rather strict.

BB.Q Olive Chicken Café Sasazuka offers crispy, flavorful Korean fried chicken in a clean, casual space near Sasazuka Station. Popular for boneless chicken, combos, and quick service. Great for a tasty, affordable meal—ideal for dine-in or takeaway.

Went there after watching it in crash landing on you in Netflix :) A popular Korean chain. Ordered the set for two. The powder with the chicken set was amazing. The sauce (sweet and spicy) was on point. Sour lemonade was refreshing. They have radish pickles too. Way better that KFC and I will definitely go again. The store is really small and only fits a group of two and thus you need to wait. Better take out and enjoy in a park nearby like we did.

delicious korean-style fried chicken, very tender and not too greasy thanks to the olive oil, the sauces taste great too, love it!

I like the food here, but I have 2 issues. 1. Plastic forks and straws wrapped in plastic for the dine-in customers. The world is drowning in plastic; just hire someone to wash a few extra dishes. 2. The proportions are always just a tad on the small side. The chicken is tasty, but I wish chains like this would be a bit more environmentally conscious. Update: This restaurant has greatly reduced the amount of plastic that they use. They use wooden forks now instead of plastic.

Wired Bonbon ルミネ新宿店 is a must-visit cafe conveniently situated within the LUMINE department store in Shinjuku, making it an ideal spot to grab a bite while shopping. While their savory vegan options are limited, their dessert menu is entirely vegan and highly praised for its delicious offerings and generous portions.
The menu is great for lunch or a sweet treat with your Omni friend if you’re vegetarian or vegan. All the vegan options are clearly labeled and I’m happy to have multiple choices. I had the soy meat platter and it was really tasty. Sauce of the soy meat was good flavored. Since we ordered the set menu, we also got a little dessert. The roasted green tea tiramisu was heavenly! Would recommend and come back to this place. Paid 3600 in total for 2 persons.

Adorable spot with delightful atmosphere. I came on a Wednesday afternoon and didn't have to wait long to be seated. Many desserts were vegan (maybe all of them?). We were able to order a variety of things to suit the plant based diet for my family of four. My dream is to live close enough to this place to come every week!
Shalimar B — Google review
Five stars for the plant based parfaits. Dessert is the star here! My sweet tooth was satisfied with the chocolate mocha banana. It was the perfect amount of sweet, and I loved the amount of cream added. AND THEY ARE HUGE! I could barely finish it. I also had the fried soy plate, which was pretty yummy too! Note: Line up using the chairs next to the entrance of the cafe.
Ella B — Google review
The desserts were okay, given that vegan options are hard to find in Japan (although the parfait had too much cream to my liking). Be careful that you cannot share a set, so you need to order separately and eat all the items in your set by yourself. As for the service, the staff is polite but struggle with English. They also don't confirm what you have ordered. In our case, the server billed items in our dessert set (dessert and drink) separately even though we clearly specified we want the set option (that's cheaper than buying separate items). She said that we can order one set for one person only so I decided to not eat anything there (not everyone can eat a dessert and drink something sweet at the same time by themselves). I told her that the set is only for my partner and I'm not having anything. She said that she understood the order but when we received the bill, we got to know that she billed the dessert and drink as separate items (not as a set) and we had to pay more. She looked apologetic and said sorry when I pointed this out but she didn't reissue the bill with the prices of what we actually ordered, even though there was a misunderstanding at her end. Eventually, we got another staff member to correct our bill but the whole experience left a bad taste. Will probably not visit again.

Sooo good! I am from LA where there are lots of yummy vegan options. I was surprised by how absolutely delicious everything we tried was. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the creme brûlée ;( but we ended up ordering the soft cream, berries crepe, and banana crepe. メチャメチャ美味しかった!Total came out around ¥3000 At the end, I dropped my coin purse and the server helped me pick up my money :,) <3 ありがたいよ〜 <3 will definitely be back. Also!!! Looks like it could be a good place to get some work done, which is huge bonus :,)
Nakia L — Google review
Still one of the best vegan restaurants that satisfy both your savory and sweet tongue. And their drinks are both beautiful and tasty. I was worried the mexican dish wouldn’t match my tastes but it was great.
Jane L — Google review
An excellent place to go to if you want vegan meals and dessert. Vegan food is still hard to find in Japan, as it is rare. Their menu is in Japanese so you may need help from Google translate, but there are symbols that indicate what kind of allergen is in which dish. There’s also a sentence in the menu that said that for some items they can make them gluten free, if you let the staff know. Really surprisingly delicious desserts. I ordered the maccha tiramisu and the strawberry de bonbon (almond ice cream with strawberries and a ring of cotton candy), both of which were surprisingly good. If you weren’t told, you wouldn’t have known they were both gluten and dairy free. A good place to stop by for those with dietary restrictions as well as those who are looking for a different culinary experience!

To this day, still my favorite plant-based dessert place in Shinjuku! I’ve pretty much had everything on the menu at this point and nothing has disappointed. Gravy Gyoza is a must-visit spot in Tokyo, especially for those with dietary restrictions. For individuals with Coeliac Disease or gluten sensitivities, finding Japanese cuisine can be challenging. However, at Gluten Free T's Kitchen in Roppongi, visitors can indulge in a wide array of traditional Japanese dishes without worrying about gluten.

We had gyoza for an appetizer and a very spicy fried chicken dish. Both were incredibly good! Great service and an english menu.
Josh M — Google review
The food was mediocre at best, but what really ruined the evening was the absolutely unacceptable service. As it got colder, we asked if we could move indoors. There were clearly empty tables inside, yet the staff flatly refused. Their excuse was that “it would complicate managing orders” — but honestly, this place is tiny, with barely five tables. If a restaurant can’t handle something as simple as switching a table in such a small space, how can it even call itself a restaurant? To make matters worse, their refusal came with a dismissive and downright rude attitude, showing zero concern for customer comfort. On top of that, the outdoor table we were stuck with was so wobbly we nearly spilled our food. Between the lackluster dishes, the flimsy setup, and the staff’s hostile attitude, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had.
Amy Y — Google review
I stumbled across this place by chance one evening. Most of Shimokitazawa seemed to be shut, but this Chinese restaurant was still busy. The waitress spoke English and handed us an English menu. The food was top notch (gyoza being their speciality, but the Chicken cashew nut dish was also very good). We sat outside as the place was rather popular.

I recently visited Café Jaime and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. The staff member (blond Japanese man) who served me did not greet me upon arrival. When I ordered banana cake, he later came back saying they were out, but his tone was quite brusque. Additionally, my friend and I were told that taking photos required a fee, which was unexpected since there was no posted policy about this. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told the staff member was the owner, and we were asked to leave. Overall, I was hoping for a relaxing visit, but the staff's attitude made it unpleasant. I hope the café can address these issues for future guests.

A new staple of Harajuku and cute food. This place surprisingly looks really worn out and dismantled for a considerably new store...the inside as well...the staff is inexperienced. But the ice cream...is so cute. Of course, this is Instagram worthy, but the taste is bland and too sweet. Unagi-ya is a traditional Japanese restaurant that specializes in serving freshwater eel, known as unagi, which is popular during the summer to combat the heat. The custom of eating unagi on the Day of the Ox in midsummer is believed to provide stamina and energy. Some popular dishes include unadon, unagi nigiri, shirayaki, eel hone senbei, and kimosui.
Excellent unagi cooked and served by an extremely nice staff! I had a great time :)

Eel was the perfect texture but the sauce today was a little too sweet and salty for my liking, otherwise it would have been flawless. Rice is not amazing, it is average side, the sauce again was overpowering so I kept looking for the whiter parts of my rice.

(Translated by Google) Whenever I’m craving unagi, this is where I go. The texture is just right—not the super fluffy style you often find in Tokyo, and not the charred crispy type common in western Japan. It’s soft and tender inside, but with a slight crisp on the outside—perfectly balanced steaming and grilling. The sauce is flavorful but not overly sweet or heavy, and the eel has zero odor—just great umami. The unajū (grilled eel over rice) and shirayaki (grilled without sauce) are both amazing, but the other side dishes are just as impressive. You can really feel the chef’s attention to detail in every plate. The chef himself is super charming, and the staff are all gentle and kind. The entire atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend. If you want to eat eel, come here. It's not the fluffy style that is common in Tokyo, nor the crunchy style that is common in western Japan; it is fluffy, has a fragrant surface, and has a perfect texture with just the right amount of crunch. The balance of steamed and grilled is really just right. The sauce is neither too thick nor too sweet, and the overall balance is excellent. There is no odor at all, yet you can still taste the deep flavor of eel. The eel jus and shirayaki are of course exquisite, but all the other a la carte dishes are carefully prepared, and you can feel the chef's commitment to everything. The owner is very charming, and all the staff are calm and kind. It's a restaurant that you'll want to come back to again and again because of its comfortable atmosphere. Very good boss and the food is also great (Original)

(Translated by Google) The eel called Bando Taro is incredibly delicious. It has a texture I've never tasted before and a melt-in-your-mouth taste. The unagi (white-grilled) version is also delicious. Please give it a try. (Original) 坂東太郎といううなぎがめちゃくちゃ美味しいです。 食べたことの無い食感 とろける味わいです。 白焼きも美味しいです。 一度お試しください

With flavors changing seasonally, visitors are encouraged to return frequently to discover new offerings.
Good ice cream shop that open twice a week. I think that they really have innovative flavors like Kumquat milk. The ice cream were well made and felt premium and the price is quite reasonable. I think it's probably the best ice cream in this area.
Tanapat R — Google review
Probably the best gelato I had in Tokyo. They had about 10 flavours to choose from. The milk one is essentially vanilla flavoured but had a nice balance of sweetness and creaminess. The caramel coffee ice cream had a really nice coffee aftertaste. It was equally well balanced, not too sweet but flavourful enough. The bonus is that they make their own cones
Radu P — Google review
A quaint artisanal ice cream shop with varying flavours and a simplistic aesthetic. A lovely experience and enjoyable ice cream. The melon flavour was strong and delightful, their milk flavour is the gem. Would definitely visit again. Perfect cool down on a hot summer’s day.
Bilqees P — Google review
Came here on a sunny day and this ice cream is perfect! Ordered 2 scoops - ginger ale and Lemon Verderna. I’m in love with the ginger ale flavor since it has the spiciness from ginger. With lemon, they go well together. Truly worth the money and calories 😂. We can also see the ice cream lab where they developed and made the product. A must visit ice cream shop if you’re in Jiyugaoka area!
Bam P — Google review
They offer unique ice cream flavors and their ice cream has a perfectly smooth and stretchy texture. I ordered the chamomile latte which had a nice hint of chamomile and strong milk flavor. There are pre-packaged containers for takeout or you can order freshly scooped ice cream in a cup or cone. Will be going back to try more flavors!

The staff are so nice and I love their milk flavored ice cream🐶🍦☁️ You should get the one with waffle cones than cups
Jane — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous ice creams with innovative flavours and super quality incredients. The cones are the best I ever had. Crispy, buttery and with beautiful notes of vanilla. Truly a treat and worth travelling for.

The best ice cream shop around this area. My recommendation is chocolate flavor🍫

Tianjin Chestnut Kiosk by Fujiyama Sangyo is a seasonal treat, especially popular in September and October. The kiosk offers delicious sweet chestnuts with a strong flavor and good balance of sweetness. Located in Shibuya's Scramble area, this small shop has been serving up these tasty treats for decades, making it a must-visit spot for chestnut lovers.
Freshly roasted delicious chestnuts with friendly service 😊 Thank you!
Hiram I — Google review
Great spot to eat parfait! You can view the entire crossing from here. Everyone in your party needs to order something, though, and the staff is incredibly rude. Unexpected from Japanese service staff. Been twice and their attitude is just horrible. They should get a shirt "don't wanna work here nor serve you". Drinks are pricey.
Corinna Z — Google review
There are 4 flavour options available. We had the mango one which was delicious. It’s a steal for ¥150. Perfect for summers.

Just a small/ tiny counter.. chestnut is dope !!!

(Translated by Google) Purchase since student 30 years later, it still blends into the corner of Shibuya Scramble Crossing. 1500 yen contains 450g, twice as much as Chinatown. Chestnuts are firm and peel neatly. From the Showa era to the Heisei era, there were sweet chestnuts in front of the station. When I went to Ueno on the way home, the sweet chestnuts in front of the station were gone. I wanted it to continue as a symbol of the scramble intersection for a long time.

(Translated by Google) I'm currently working in Shibuya, and when I heard that they were selling my favorite sweet chestnuts, I stopped by on my way home from work. It's in front of the scramble intersection, so there was a huge wall of people 😓 At first, they had just sold out and a young man was roasting them. The following week, I finally got some and ate them when I got home, looking forward to it. There was quite a lot for 1000 yen, and each chestnut was crispy and delicious‼️🤩 They seemed to be loved by a variety of customers, including office workers, foreigners, and families with children😊 They staple the bags together, but sometimes they ask that they not staple them. I know how you feel, wanting to eat freshly roasted ones right away... I'll go back and buy some again, taking into account the holiday notice😊🌅 (Original)

(Translated by Google) "Tenshin Sweet Chestnuts" are a long-standing Shibuya snack. The packaging is so cute ( ^ω^ ) I bought these because they were labeled "new," which gave me a sense of autumn. The shells were easy to peel, and the gentle sweetness was delicious. I've only ever had them at festivals, so I'm happy to be able to enjoy them on a regular basis. It seems they only accept cash?

(Translated by Google) These are traditional sweet chestnuts, and I haven't eaten them in nearly 40 years, so I bought them as a souvenir. I was also given a tool that makes it easy to peel chestnuts. The taste was also very delicious, with the natural sweetness of chestnuts.
