Pizza restaurant
Seirinkan, located near Nakameguro Station in Tokyo, is a renowned Neapolitan-style pizza restaurant that has been serving authentic pies for over two decades. The owner and chef, Susumu Kakinuma, was inspired by American films like Saturday Night Fever to create his unique take on Neapolitan pizza. The restaurant's steampunk setting and Beatles tunes provide a distinctive ambiance for enjoying their specialty pizzas: margherita and marinara.
Great pizza, really delicious. Well priced drinks as well. Highly recommend making a reservation, it is very unlikely to get seating otherwise. We arrived 10 minutes before they opened at 6pm and were fortunate they sat us. I think showing up as soon as they opened is the best course of action if you do not have a reservation, but it is definitely not guaranteed. Really cool atmosphere, the pizza options are limited but they execute them well.
Mari D — Google review
Pretty long line and wait for this place. Coming from NY the pizzas were good but not worth that long of a wait, and there’s way too much crust without sauce or cheese on it. Dough does have nice chewy texture. I feel their pastas are better than the pizzas. Very flavorful but the taste def has a bit of Japanese fusion to it. Not something you can get at a traditional Italian restaurant. A bit irritating they make you order a drink when the food is by no means cheap.
Jing Y — Google review
Fun pizza pasta restaurant with a unique atmosphere. As with most trendy restaurants in Tokyo seating is limited so be ready to wait… it’s just part of the experience. As for the food, our experience was only with the pizza which was great but not life-changing. The dough and sauce were clearly made from fresh ingredients which made me wish the size of the pies were just a bit larger as we left wanting just a bit more. This was the best pizza experience we had on this trip to Tokyo. Be aware that when we went there was a required drink purchase and maximum table time.
David — Google review
Heard so much about the pizza in Tokyo before coming so had to give it a try… Pizza was really tasty, loads of olive oil and the fresh tomato base really makes a difference. A slight chew on the dough but in a really nice way gives it a super soft pizza with a bit of bite. Worth the hype and would go back again for sure! I arrived just after 6pm with no reservation and went straight in. You have your seat/table for 1 hour which is plenty of time to order and eat - there’s only 3 pizzas to choose from so easy picking
Nick H — Google review
Great Neapolitan pizza! The pizza menu is extra small (which makes it extra good). Every aspect of the pizza is full of flavor, from the dough to the olive oil. The steampunk-beatles space adds to the experience 🔥 100% recommended
Martín D — Google review
Simple menu making it super easy to decide on what to order. We had their margherita pizza and a plate of puttanesca pasta. Honestly it was so yummy - all the right flavours, and the pasta sauce was outstanding. Service is also pretty quick which makes it a great spot if you're hungry and want a fast meal.
Lindy L — Google review
Really good pizza, but it's very busy so make a reservation! We saw many people get turned away because they did not have a reservation. Good food and service, but be aware there is a minimum order
Mike S — Google review
Heads up: it is very unlikely that you’ll get a seat without a reservation, which you can only make by phone call. The pizza was pretty average, unfortunately. It lacked a depth of flavour. If you’ve eaten pizza in Italy, you’ll be disappointed. It’s pretty much just oil (didn’t even taste like olive oil) and salt. The Beatles aesthetic was pretty cool though. Definitely an overhyped restaurant.

SAVOY Azabujuban is a renowned pizza restaurant in Tokyo, known for its authentic Neapolitan pizza. The city has seen a surge in the popularity of pizza over the past decade, and SAVOY has been at the forefront of this trend. With multiple locations across Japan, including Tokyo, SAVOY is celebrated for its meticulously crafted pizza dough and perfectly cooked pizzas from their own baking oven.
Savoy Pizza in Azabujuban was an unforgettable experience! The pizzas are super freshly made, with an authenticity that’s hard to find outside of Italy. The chef himself had an incredible aura—rocking those sexy sunglasses while crafting each pizza with precision. His methodical approach was stellar, hand-making every pizza with care and expertise. My favorite was the Marinara pizza—the preparation was next level, with thinly sliced garlic. I also tried the Pacific Tuna pizza, which was surprisingly amazing! I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but the combination was unique and delicious. This place has mastered simplicity, letting high-quality ingredients shine. While I’ll always be more of a fan of NYC-style pizza (I love that crisp crust!), I can absolutely appreciate the appeal of this authentic Neapolitan style.
Rohan K — Google review
Whiskey coke was good, meatball appetizer was really good (9/10) the sauce is very tasty. The mozzarella ozaki pizza was delicious and has a unique flavor (8.5/10), Margherita pizza (8/10). Edge of the crust on both pizzas was cooked well. Minus points for both because the crust under the pizza was very soggy. Might be due to the generous amount of olive oil used. It flopped down instantly and the toppings just fell off, but it was still delicious. Would have hit 9’s for me if the bottom crust was just a little more cooked/held its shape. Highly recommend doing a reservation so you don’t have to wait at all. We booked 14 days in advanced, but I would book earlier for better times. We had an 8:30 PM reservation. Got sat in the furtherthest corner of the restaurant in front of a sink with a transparent splash divider and an ice shaving machine. Cozy vibes forsure, ambient music, and nice lighting. Chairs we sat at were comfy and didn’t have an insanely loud screech to them. Staff were friendly and welcoming even though it was busy. Our waitress spoke english well to us when ordering. Ordered pretty quick, drinks & appetizers came out fast, the longest wait was the pizzas of course, and the check is brought to you after you get their attention. 1 mixed restroom and one female restroom. Absolute recommendation to try SAVOY!
Pholex — Google review
I think its not bad but overated for queue with such a long wait, service wasnt bad but nothing fantastic too. The salad was the only standout, just that it use soya sauce in it. Pizza was nothing close to traditional italien kind but softer and drench in oil. Honestly, i was expecting a lot more for such a famed pizzerio.
Lbbgs84 — Google review
Incredible pizza. Probably some of the best ive every eaten. Top 3 all time. The Italians should be scared. I think we had 3 pizzas and some appetizers. Highly recommend. Line up and get your name on the list. Worth the wait.
Robert L — Google review
I prefer NY style pizzas, but the Neapolitan style here is done so well that I enjoyed it a lot. The dough was the star here as it’s very bouncy and chewy in the best way possible. I also loved that they have a very simple menu and they were quick to serve from check in and ordering. You can also see the chef making the pizza from scratch, and bringing it straight to you out the oven. One thing I didn’t enjoy was the bluefin toro pizza - I wanted it to work but half cooked toro on a cheese pizza just doesn’t work! Either way, amazing pizza shop - reserve in advance if you plan on going.
Jae J — Google review
A great spot for truly delicious pizza, with some creative twists like the tuna pizza that pleasantly surprised us. The dough was soft, the flavors were excellent, and sitting right in front of the oven added to the experience. The staff and chef were welcoming and attentive, which really made the visit special. The only reason for the 4-star rating is the indoor temperature — it was quite warm, and a cooler environment would’ve made the seating more comfortable. Otherwise, a fantastic place we’d gladly return to.
Anouar — Google review
Savoy in Tokyo is a pizza haven. Reservations are recommended, but if you can’t secure one, arrive early when they open at 5:30 PM, as it fills up quickly. The appetizers were outstanding: the octopus salad was refreshing, with tender octopus paired perfectly with crisp bell peppers, and the sautéed mushrooms, featuring a vibrant mix of varieties, were packed with flavor. The “Pizza O” was phenomenal—its soft, chewy crust had a delightful bounce and texture, complemented by a magnificent, well-balanced tomato sauce. Generous Ozaki beef portions added a rich, savory depth. The service was exceptional, with our waitress speaking perfect English, ensuring language was never a barrier. The upbeat vibe and counter seating, where I watched the pizza master at work, made the experience truly memorable. A must-visit!

Best pizza we’ve had in Tokyo – proper wood-fired, springy base, spot-on flavours. The stewed tripe was a surprise highlight! Great vibes and warm service, just a bit too hot inside.

Pizza restaurant
The Pizza Bar On 38th, located inside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Nihonbashi, has gained recognition for its unique approach to pizza-making. With a focus on creating an intimate and personal dining experience akin to sushi or kaiseki, the pizzeria offers elevated pies with distinctive bases made from a special dough ratio and fermented for two days. This results in exceptionally crisp and airy crusts that set it apart from traditional Neapolitan pizzerias in Tokyo.
This was my second visit to Pizza on 38th, and since my last visit the menu has changed to an Omakase format. Initially, I had some reservations about this, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and creativity of the menu. The chefs noted my dietary requirements and accommodated them thoughtfully by substituting ingredients while still providing high quality, locally sourced proteins. The chefs were extremely knowledgeable and prepared some of the best pizzas I have ever tasted. Each course was presented with care and precision. The difference in quality is evident. The flavours are vibrant and the freshness of the ingredients truly elevates the entire experience. I look forward to returning on my next visit.
H G — Google review
We were lucky to get a pizza omakase reservation for lunch on our next to last day in Tokyo and it was an overall really great experience. Some people might be divided on whether this is worth the money because it’s just “pizza” but really that’s just simplifying the meal too much. Yes, it is multiple courses of pizza but the ingredients are the highest quality, uncommon and generally the flavor combinations are going to be different than any other pizza you’ve likely had before. I only deducted a star because I feel not every pizza course completely landed with me although most did. Plus, with their farm to table approach, the menu rotates every month and a half so I think definitely worth trying in at least two seasons of the year to see how it compares.
Michelle P — Google review
I wasn’t too sure what to expect especially after the sort of price I paid for this for 2 people. I have to say I very impressed after it. I enjoyed the whole selection of pizzas. The dessert I got was only ok though. I’m also not a big wine drinker so I asked for the cocktail menu, but there was only 3 options on it. I can’t remember what I ordered but it was tasty. I expected the main chef Daniele to make at least one of the courses, but all the pizzas were made by the sous chefs. Both sous chefs were very good so I can’t complain, just would have been nice to get a bit more time with main chef because that’s who I saw on all the social media post. Very happy over all.
Anshul N — Google review
I finally had the chance to dine at The Pizza Bar on 38th, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. This restaurant is extremely difficult to reserve, but the effort is more than worth it once you’re seated at the counter. The Pizza Omakase was a truly outstanding experience—the craftsmanship, creativity, and quality of ingredients were exceptional. Each course felt carefully curated, with flavors that were bold yet refined, and the balance of textures and toppings showed real artistry. It’s not just pizza, it’s a world-class culinary experience. The setting is intimate, service is impeccable, and watching the chefs prepare the pizzas right in front of you adds to the excitement. Without a doubt, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Tokyo. If you’re lucky enough to secure a reservation, it’s an absolute must-try.
Mano R — Google review
What a wonderful experience! My husband and I are from NY and enjoy Brooklyn pizza, but this Omakase style pizza course was spectacular. Just 8 customers including us (with my sister) were at the counter with two chefs and one assistant, and it was nice at-home setting. Course was including appetizers, 6 different kinds of pizza that shared, and dessert. The ingredients were from farms across Japan and Italy as fresh they were. Chefs made fresh pizzas in in front of us and stove baked right away. My favorite one was tuna with fig. The flavor was amazing as combination of two ingredients. Fantastic crews and entertainment with excellent foods. They were also very considerate and accommodating to food allergies if any. My sister has allergies from certain fruits and chefs were replacing with alternative only for her plate! (thank you!!) Omakase menu changes monthly as seasonal fresh ingredients. I highly recommend to anyone who loves and enjoys pizza.
Masae S — Google review
Ever had a pizza Omakase? Italian Japanese fusion seating for 8 in an engaging interactive dinner is this place. A restaurant hidden within a restaurant on the 38th mandarin oriental Tokyo, this place is a gem. Reservations far in advance is a must. If you think you know pizza, you don’t know pizza til you’ve been here. A bucket list item for sure if in Japan.
M4l2K T — Google review
Visit 04.2025 Given the top pizza world rankings it holds, it was personally a disappointment. I will try to be objective. The price is just not worth the whole experience. The place is on the 38th floor of a fancy hotel, the ingredients I’m sure are top notch including Wagyu and truffle, but for 22,000 yen the taste profile is disappointing. For context I love pizza, and have had many American and Neapolitan styles and during a previous trip to Japan was mind blown by Pizza Strada, another top rated pizza restaurant in Tokyo. The course was an appetizer, 8 slices of pizza, and dessert. The style is not Japanese (soft thin crust). The dough is crunchy/hard, and they put way too much ingredients on each slice, with the taste having an identity crisis. I wasn’t sure what I was tasting and there was no harmony. They pride themselves in a specially prepared dough which I didn’t find that flavorful. The best slice for me was the margherita where the taste was simple and straightforward. This was a classic example of breaking the wallet for the fame and high end ingredients without the taste to back it up. If you want to cross off a top ranked pizza restaurant on your bucket list, go for it. If you want an honest good tasting pizza meal without breaking the bank, definite skip. I’ve enjoyed pizzas more at local joints that are 1/10 the price. I feel the taste is more for western people (I’m from Canada) than Asians and Japanese. Again if you want an idea of simple peak-tasting pizza, Pizza Strada is a great example.

Intimate experience as there are only 8 seats. The chefs explain the ingredients and prepare everything right in front of you. Definitely some of the best pizza I've ever had. It's a must try.

PST Higashi Azabu, also known as Pizza Studio Tamaki, is a cozy and rustic eatery in Tokyo's Minato ward. It's renowned for its top-notch Neapolitan-style pizza crafted by the passionate and hardworking owner and head chef, Tsubasa Tamaki. The restaurant offers a variety of gourmet wood-fired pizzas and elegant desserts in a charming space with both counter and table seating.
Long overdue review since our visit to Japan. The pizza was amazing. Delightful. The flavours were simple and refined. We tried a few to name twice during the trip, but margarita pizza was a must try. The meaty options may be messy to some people’s taste palate. The cheese or cream base may be too fatty and one note to taste. Tomato base is always a good choice with cheese topping for a balanced flavour. We sat by the counter. They made the pizza fresh on the spot. Please visit if you crave a pizza there. No words is needed to describe how light but flavourful the food is there~ There may be a queue, so drop by as early.
Yuzu — Google review
When in Japan, what do I do? I go for pizza - but not just any pizza. I had to try PST, a spot praised by Canadian chef David Rocco and even Jeff Bezos, who both called it some of the best pizza they’ve ever had. As a huge Neapolitan pizza fan, this was high on my list. We arrived early and waited for them to open at 5 p.m. since we didn’t have a reservation, but the staff kindly accommodated us — nice touch! We started with the Caesar salad and buffala salad, both excellent. Then came the main event - four pizzas, all amazing. The standout was the one topped with buffala mozzarella, served with a small cup of truffle oil - simply perfect. We finished off the meal with a tiramisu, light, creamy, and the perfect ending to a great meal. Service was fast and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. I’m really glad I made the effort to visit. Add PST to your must-try list when visiting Japan!

PST Azabu is a must-visit for pizza lovers in Tokyo, serving up some of the best Neapolitan-style pies in the city. The crust is perfectly blistered and chewy, with just the right balance of softness and char, while the toppings showcase fresh, high-quality ingredients. The cozy, intimate setting adds to the charm, and the staff make you feel right at home. It’s a bit tucked away, but absolutely worth seeking out for an authentic, memorable pizza experience.

The special Bianca pizza was the best pizza I've ever had, and it was the culinary highlight of our trip. It was oozing with mozzarella and mascarpone. The salted crust complemented those ingredients really well. They gave us a free sample of corn soup, which was nice. The restaurant was a bit small, and it was tough to navigate, but once you have a seat, it's great.
Robert V — Google review
Some of the best pizza you will ever eat. Highly suggest you have your hotel concierge secure you reservations well in advance. Upon arrival we were given the best seats in the house, at the counter right in front of the prep line and oven. The pizza and broccoli were best in class. The pizza dough is definitely more salty than normal, but that is what makes it so good, actually so great! Add some honey to the crust for an out of body experience. The staff's hospitality was outstanding. Incredible pizza, incredible people, incredible experience... we will be back next time in Tokyo. 100 percent!
Ryan F — Google review
The pizzas are amazingly delicious and some of the best I’ve had. Tried the romana, diavola and salami and they were equally good. The dough is perfectly cooked and you can taste the smokiness of the wood fire. The tomato sauce really tastes of fresh tomatoes and is well seasoned. The smoked mozzarella in the salami pizza is very special and gives a unique taste. Not the most affordable pizzas but I still highly recommend the experience. Wish they had bread coming with ham and burrata starter. 2nd floor is more quiet, the action is downstairs near the over. Service is great. We were given a table even if we arrived earlier than our reservation.
Valerie M — Google review
This was genuinely the best pizza I've ever had. Amazing flavour with a salted base which made it even better. The tiramisu was also really good and super lite. Definitely in my top 3 best meals. Our server was Andy who was very nice and spoke great english.
Daniel H — Google review
Don’t get the hype. Too overpriced for what it is; the pizza is at best average (I’m from Europe). Staff at the door were rather unfriendly. We ordered two extra burrata toppings. One was probably more like buffalo mozzarella, the other was creamy. The server just said, ‘That’s how our burrata is,’ -turned away-

Pizza Strada, located in Azabu-Juban, has gained popularity for its expertly crafted wood-fired pizzas featuring seasonal ingredients like Hiroshima oysters and Hokkaido asparagus. The pizzeria has received accolades, ranking at No 52 on the 100 best pizzerias list by 50 Top Pizza for 2022.
I hear this place has social media all over it, but it was thankfully lacking any pretention. They just serve high quality ingredients cooked simply and well. Service was a tad hectic (bringing our pizzas before we finished our starters), but genuine and warm. We sat at the counter opposite the pizza oven which I would recommend, especially on a rainy night outside, we felt very cozy sat here. To start, we had the fried squid (perfectly crispy, tender inside) and meatballs (rich, deep tomato sauce - subtle it is not - needed some bread to mop it up which we promptly ordered). The pizzas we went for were smoked mozzarella (proper smokey, beware! Not for me but my wife loved it), and the Romana (anchovies, olives) which was utterly delicious. Their pizza dough isn't too bready, it feels delicate and almost flaky despite being a neapolitan style pizza. It's almost a cross between a crispy flat bread and a pizza and I'm all for it. The red sauce - like with the meatballs - is rich and deep. All in all, it's a top class pizza no doubt about it. Finished with a good tiramisu to share (why are desert portions so small in Japan? Is that why they live to 100 years old??). Cost for a large dinner, 2 beers and a ginger ale came to just under 12,000 yen. You can get quality pizza for cheaper in the city, but I felt this was great value still for the experience as a whole.

Relatively hyped up unfortunately. I have been fortunate to have tried some very good pizza. Unfortunately this means strada's is up with tough competition. Dough is too soft/soggy. Flavours were very punchy and in some cases over seasoned. Fries were surprisingly very nice. Service is very slow with what we saw is 1 person running the hot seat. Tough to get pizza's out efficiently when you have 12 tables and everyone orders 2 - 3 pizza's. Very expensive for what it is. I would try other places before returning.

Heard about this pizza place on social media. It definitely lived up to the hype. Ordered the Wagyu beef pizza. It was very delicious. The restaurant itself is in a quiet area which makes eating there a lot more pleasant than in busier areas like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Would definitely recommend this place I would come back again!

Easily the best Neapolitan style pizza I've had in my life and also one of the top pizza spots I've ever been to. Would recommend getting the following pizzas to try different flavors: a classic margherita, the Strada for the smoked cheese and the Bismarck for more of a salty heavy experience (which I personally enjoy a lot). If I ever visit Tokyo again, I will 100% be visiting this place again.

Honestly feels like one of those Instagram trap spots looks great in photos but the food is just okay. We made a reservation so we were seated right away and had time to check out the menu. Make sure you read it carefully because they have pizzas with no cheese or no sauce, which is different. It took a while for our pizzas to come out. We ordered 2 cheese and 1 pepperoni, but a table that sat down after us got their 4 pizzas before we did. When ours finally came, they were fresh and hot. The cheese and sauce were good, but overall the flavor was just kinda bland. The woodfire crust was a bit burnt in spots you might get some char on your hands if you pick it up. Overall, not bad but not amazing either. Just okay.

Awesome pizza, one of the best pizzas Ive eaten. Pizza dough is crisp & light. Ordered 2 pizza’s & various appetizers then got a 3rd pizza. Last was a no sauce pizza and it was amazing. Definitely going back with the entire family.

Solid pizza! Had both the Margherita and the Wagyu Pizza. I’m not as much of a Margherita type of person (tried it because that’s their specialty and I was pretty hungry), but the Wagyu was very good!! I also liked that I was able to taste the salt occasionally on some bites (doesn’t always happen with pizza). Also had the Blue Beer (themed after the ocean) which was light and refreshing as well as the Bruschetta with Prosciutto Mousse. Perhaps a little more on the spendy side, but a delicious meal nonetheless!

Coming from LA where we have eaten at multiple top pizza restaurants this is definitely one of the BEST pizza we have ever eaten! The Japanese toppings and the saltier preparation was very unique to us. Definitely underrated and worth more hype!!

Pizza restaurant
La TRIPLETTA, located in Shinagawa Ward near Musashikoyama Station, is a popular spot known for its delicious Neapolitan pizza and exceptional customer service. The restaurant boasts a bright white interior and uses a pizza stone oven crafted by Neapolitan artisans to achieve the perfect charred crust.
Really great experience dining here at La Tripletta. We made reservations for 5:30PM. The website was easy to use. I highly recommend making reservations especially for large groups as it fills up pretty quickly. For drinks, we had the Messina beer (800 yen) and the homemade ginger ale (500 yen). The beer didn't taste special or anything but the homemade ginger ale was really good. Appetizers- We had the caprese salad made with fresh mozzarella and cherry tomatoes (1,600 yen). The ingredients tasted very fresh and I really liked the drizzle of olive oil on top! For the fritti, I thoroughly enjoyed the frittatina (500 yen for 2pcs). We also tried the Zeppoline (400 yen) but I wasn't such a fan. Maybe a bit too dry or just not to my liking. For the main dish, we had the homemade salsiccia (1,400 yen)- really tasty, generous portions as it came with a side of charred brocollini as well. For the pizza, we had the Margherita (1,600). Good portion size and one pizza was enough to split between my husband and I. The crust was delicious and not heavy at all. Total bill came out to 7,000 yen for the two of us. Really good value for money here and I would definitely come back to try more of the pizzas!

Fell in love with the pie; crust was satisfyingly chewy and delicious. The toppings were a tad lackluster and felt like it could use a bit more depth. But the ambiance is great and service is superb.

The pizza is wonderful and the gelato is amazing! The atmosphere is relaxed and the menu is in English. There is a time limit on tables but it’s quite busy so it makes sense they want a good turnover throughout the night. Kid-friendly and lots of types of customers of all ages. Book before coming. Will be back! Highly recommend! Thank you

This place is famous for their pizzas and they have an extensive list of toppings. Definitely come for the pizzas but do not miss the following- arancini (cheese filled rice croquettes), trippa (tripe stewed in tomato sauce) and pizza oven roast chicken leg. Highly recommended!

An Napoli style pizzeria near Musashi-Koyama station. Pizza itself was good, we enjoyed the chewy and tasty base and toppings. The price was reasonable as well. The service felt a bit off to me. It took them 5 minutes to bring the menu and they did not come to take orders after a few minutes. The staff didn’t hide her disappointment we didn’t order alcohol drinks first. No goodbye to us upon our leaving from the service staff... Probably it was our fault to bring kids for busy dinner time. They look very friendly to regular customers. I liked the food and atmosphere so I’ll have a try another time.

So, as Italian, I have a lot to say about this place! Let me start with the pizza itself: I got the most expensive one on the menu: the ripieno (I believe this was the name, it’s similar to a calzone, stuffed with different ingredients). Absolutely delicious. The dough was perfect. So fluffy, not too thin, not too thick. Just perfect. Exactly the way I like it. The amount of ingredients was right for its concept, but I felt that I needed to taste the tomato sauce a little more. My sister got the other expensive pizza on the menu, similar to mine but in pizza form. She felt the same as me: amazing dough, but lacking on the tomato sauce department. We really need to feel the depth of the tomato sauce in a pizza, otherwise we won’t feel 100% immersed in the universe of the pizza experience. The taste of the tomato sauce was so light that it seemed to be just fresh tomato pulp put on the pizza and only cooked in the oven. You feel the difference in depth when there has been some work done on the sauce. It makes the whole pizza much juicier. Also, the basil was a little burnt, which means it was cooked in the oven. You shouldn’t do this! Basil needs to be fresh! AFTER taking the pizza out of the oven, sprinkle some fresh extra virgin olive oil, and just before serving, add some fresh and aromatic basil leaves! I think it was already strange for them to see two girls ordering one pizza each, and we even got the heaviest ones 😂 BUT, that didn’t discourage us from ordering a third one to share: we really wanted to give them another chance with the tomato sauce, so we ordered a marinara! We thought the problem might lie in our choice, so we went for the pizza whose star were just tomatoes and tomato sauce. Indeed, it made a difference. It was absolutely delicious. BUT, the sauce was still lacking depth! Ahh we really want to ask the pizza man to just improve the tomato sauce! It would basically make this our favourite pizza in Tokyo! For now, it’s on a second place (although we haven’t decided the first one yet 😂). I want to give it 5 stars so desperately because they deserve them! But my Italian pride is asking me to wait until they revolutionise the tomato sauce, (and add the basil after baking the pizza). Anyways, if you read until this point, I want you to know that I HIGHLY recommend this pizzeria. I’m just giving you a warning that the tomato sauce is not the best, and doesn’t make it the juiciest and deepest pizza ever, but it’s ALMOST there!! However, prices are very high. I know we’re in Tokyo, but I think they are above average. I know I’m not in Napoli and I can’t get the best Margherita in the world for €3. But I think prices are a bit high even for Tokyo! The vibe: it looks very Italian! We loved the decorations, the structure itself is very Italian looking. We haven’t been able to go back home for two years, so we felt like we were closer to home here! The staff is very nice, and I really think the pizza man is highly skilled! If I wasn’t trying to stay fit, I would be coming back every Saturday night here for a pizza, like we used to do in Italy! Old times! Also, it is very popular, and we were stupid enough to go on a weekend without reserving. However, they told us we might have a chance to get a table at some point, so they told us to wait until a certain hour. We waited outside, they saw us standing there for a long time. When the time had come, we asked them if they managed to get us a table and they said it wasn’t possible as they were full for the night. Now, I know we should have reserved. But they also know when they are full. And they also saw us outside for a looong time. We would have appreciated if they told us to go home earlier! We decided to go to Salvatore cuomo nearby to satisfy our pizza cravings. That’s pretty good too, even as a chain. Anyways, we went back a second time with a reservation, and we had a very positive experience! I hope I will be able to give them 5 stars next time!! I’m trying to be very strict, but it’s for their good! I want them to be the best 😂

The food is pretty good, a bit pricey. I enjoyed the pate. The tomatoes had a nice taste. The place is pretty busy, seems popular. The menu is only Japanese. Didn't ask for an English menu, so not sure. The staff was friendly. It was a good experience. Might go back.

One of the best pizza I've had in Tokyo! I highly recommend the place and will definitely come again. Just be warned that it is very popular and that arriving at 11h45 (it opens at 11h30) on a Saturday, we already had to put our name on the waiting list. We only waited 25mins, wish isn't bad. The place is crowded very fast and the service was a bit slow as everyone was ordering pizza.

PST Roppongi, short for Pizza Studio Tamaki, is a renowned pizzeria with its original outlet near Tokyo Tower and an additional branch in Roppongi. Founded by pizza chef Tsubasa Tamaki, the menu has been perfected over a decade to offer innovative and flavorful wood-fire oven pizzas. The signature Tamaki pizza features a smoked mozzarella base with pecorino romano and basil.
Delicious pizza! I went it late night and could get a seat immediately at the counter. It was quite fun to sit there and watch the pizza making and all action in the kitchen. The staff was super friendly and helpful to guide me for the pizza to choose. I also like the half option which means smaller pizza so I could try two different pizzas. I went for their specialty tamaki pizza and my go to pizza margherita. Both of them were a feast, it was the most crunchy pizza I have ever eaten. The dough is on the salty side which is the specialty of PST but it didn’t disturb me actually. I got a lemonade which was made from special tiny lemons from Okinawa and it was so good. As expected, they are on the pricier side, I paid a bit over 5000 yen for two half pizzas and drink. But it was definitely worth.

Arrived about an hour before opening and was first in line. The queue began to form around 30 minutes before the doors opened. Most guests didn’t have reservations and were still able to get in, so walking in early is a good option. I was seated at the counter with a full view of the kitchen, which added to the experience. Service was excellent, staff were attentive, offered to hang our jackets, and made thoughtful recommendations despite the language barrier. All pizzas were made fresh to order, and even with a full house, the wait time was minimal. The pizza itself was up to expectations, crispy and with a nicely developed crust. The dough leaned on the saltier side, which may come down to personal preference, but overall it was satisfying and flavorful.

Crust is crusty. Dough is perfectly cooked with some burnt edges. Tomato sauce is sweet and mild. Perfectly made pizza! Would I say it's worth the price and hype? Yup! As an occasional treat. 2 pizzas and 2 beers running $100 even in fancy western Italian joints is already on the high side. Still worth a visit but you also would be fine missing out if you're visiting japan.

Went as a walk in single person without a reservation around 6 pm on a weekday. I asked if they could accommodate me without a reservation and after a few moments checking, I was very happy to get a seat at the counter. I was given an English menu. I tried the butter chicken pizza which had a mild taste. The crust was amazing. You could taste the salt, but I didn’t think it was too much. Staff is happy to help (explained the menu, kindly hung up my jacket for me, apologized that I had to wait a few moments to settle the bill) but unobtrusive and not overbearing. If you don’t have a reservation, you might have to wait, but they also offer take out and the pizzas are made quickly.

Don’t skip this place. The hype is real. Definitely the best Neapolitan style I’ve ever had. I wasn’t really a fan of the appetizers or salads we had. But the pizza made up for it in spades. Next time I’ll just get more pizzas I highly recommend getting the half sized pizzas so you can try different kinds. We liked the arrabiatta best!

We stopped in for dinner on our way to a jazz show and we were really happy with the pizza. The crust is super flavorful and chewy/crispy, and the toppings spot on. We ordered the buffalo mozzarella and the olive and loved them both. A little salty? Yes. But I wouldn’t change a thing.

We ordered the Nduja pizza (with an egg), the Tamaki pizza, and the yogurt dip with vegetables. The yogurt dip was delicious, and the pizzas were equally outstanding, although we preferred the Nduja. We didn’t have a reservation but were seated within 20 minutes, so I definitely recommend booking ahead to avoid the wait.

Amazing pizza. Super expensive by Japan standards, I think it was over $50 for two little pizzas and two drinks, but one of the best pizzas I've ever had so it was worth it. - You will need to make reservations for dinner - there is a table fee - every person has to buy a drink It does leave a bad feeling the way they add fees and make you buy drinks, I wish they would just up the price of the pizza so it's a better experience. But as long as you know that going in you'll have a good time.

Pizzeria da Peppe Napoli Sta’ Ca is a bustling trattoria in Tokyo, owned and operated by a chef from Naples. The cozy space is adorned with SSC Napoli football memorabilia, creating an authentic Italian atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of authentic Italian dishes, including classic and special pizzas. The margherita pizza stands out with its drizzle of high-quality olive oil and chewy, salted base.
I wasn’t expecting to eat the best pizza I’ve ever had in Japan. The staff are Italian. It was incredible to hear them navigate several languages with ease. We had the meatballs, spaghetti, margherita pizza, and romana pizza. Everything was spectacular. Note: every patron has to order an item. Worth it.

We got the ¥6600 per person dinner course. You’re limited to 70 mins for our reservation, so it already feels like you’re rushed . The dinner course came with a drink, appetiser, pizza, pasta, dessert and after dessert drink. I thought the price per person was not reasonable. The pasta we ordered came with shrimp, and we specifically asked for no shrimp. this is the first time in japan. they remade to give us a meat pasta. the pasta was 1/3 of the size of the other pasta dish we got. The appraiser was fine. It was a variety of things, I can’t remember what they all were, but the tomato and mozzarella were amazing. Ive had the same pizza at the azabudai hills location and this location. the hills location cannot use a wood fire, but this location does, so the pizza was definitely better here. For being the #2 pizza in Asia/#15 in the world, I expected to be wowed more. I also expect the pizza to be cut, and if it isn’t’ a reasonable knife to use to easily do that. The dessert was a tiramisu which tasted okay. The atmosphere was amazing. Makes you feel like you are in Naples and it’s very welcoming. Maybe I will visit here again, but for lunch and 100% will not get the dinner course.

Fantastic Meal - An Authentic Taste of Italy! We had an absolutely excellent meal at Pizzeria da Peppe Napoli Sta’ Ca”. We started with a fantastic cold corn soup. The pasta we ordered for the kids was wonderful, and the two pizzas we shared were simply superb – truly authentic, they tasted just like the ones we've had in Italy. We also enjoyed the meatballs, which were very tasty. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and the service was both kind and fun, which made the entire experience a delight. Highly recommended!

Located just around Tokyo Tower 🗼 this restaurant draws plenty of tourists—perhaps more for its location than its food. We arrived 30 minutes before opening and noticed an older gentleman—presumably the Italian owner—smoking on the staircase beside the restaurant’s entrance. Later, once inside, we saw the lady taking our order being hurried and subtly reprimanded by the same man, which felt uncomfortable to witness. Unfortunately, hygiene seemed questionable: the owner was visibly dialling/picking his nose just moments before serving our tiramisu. If that’s part of the Naples charm, it was lost on us. Ordering was restricted to a single round, with a minimum of one item per person. We had hoped to try one pizza first before deciding on more, but the policy forced us to commit upfront. The food itself was disappointing. The pizza arrived lukewarm, and the burrata tasted bland and rubbery—clearly mass-produced. While the plating was visually appealing, the food ingredients including the pizza base lacked quality, taste and the flavors were underwhelming. The tiramisu was overly soggy, with no depth of coffee flavor. Interestingly, the walls were filled with photos of the owner and his sons posing with celebrities—perhaps meant to lend some credibility. Prices were comparable to fine dining, but the experience felt more like one of those European tourist-trap restaurants than a genuine culinary outing.

The best Pizza I've had in Tokyo so far! The place is closer to Hibiya line and is at a walkable distance. The atmosphere felt cozy and the staff is well informed about the various dishes they have, and can I'd suggest asking for at least one of their recommendations in any category and I'm sure you'll be happy. Pizzeria e Trattoria da ISA is a popular spot in Nakameguro, known for its wood-fired pizzas and traditional Italian antipasti. The restaurant's simple setup offers street views and a lively atmosphere that often sees patrons lining up outside. With around 30 different types of pizza on the menu, including classics like Margherita and Quattro Formaggi, all made on a delicious sourdough crust, it's no wonder this place has gained attention.
This place is a gem. We ate here twice in three days. Restaurant is big and carries a big number of people. You have a good chance walking in. Pizzas are off the chain. They also have daily dishes which are not necessarily on the menu so always ask. Grilled chicken with potatoes was also very delicious. The eggplant dish was also great and kind of tasted like a pizza with charred cheese on top. The pizza’s ofcourse were amazing

Honestly, not recommended. Ordered antipasti and had only one slice of prosciutto and a piece of cheese per person. The rest was tripe, polpetta and vegetables. Wanted to order pizza fritta but it was sold out (not said previously) so ordered the ragu pizza which had some mystery meat that was absolutely not ragu, the dough was fine however. Prices were quite steep for this mediocre quality.

this place is overrated and makes you feel stressed. didn’t have a reservation, came as soon as it opened and waited one hour before getting in. even people who had reservations were entering the restaurant later than their reservation time, the front of the restaurant was a jumbled mess with what looked like 3 different lines. workers seemed very very stressed and under pressure. after finally getting in, workers told us to sit at a certain spot, then moved us, then told us we could put our stuff on top of a seat, then told us we need to remove our stuff from the seat. asked for water but they kept forgetting. after pizzas arrived, mine had this huge burnt mark on it. pizza tasted just like a normal Margherita, nothing special. 2200 yen + you must buy a drink. ended up costing 3200 total. crazy that the whole kitchen is operated by one person. this person was NOT taking his time obviously or putting heart into his work because you just can’t do that with 20,000 orders needing to be taken care of. my friend who was with me told me the person in the kitchen accidentally had the pizza plated upside down, and it got messed up, he flipped it on its normal side than told another worker to send it to the customer. also, he overheard the kitchen worker threaten to fire the waiters since apparently they kept messing up. Anyway, this restaurant feels insanely understaffed and workers do not seem happy or hospitable at all because of it, you can feel their stress. I don’t recommend it, you can find much tastier Margherita pizza, better service, and a better atmosphere and price almost anywhere else. Message to owner: stop being greedy and hire more people

for the prices you pay (¥2650 per pizza) the pizzas lack toppings, they feel like they’ve just been thrown together - but the dough is good. i think the price is because you can sit outside by the river
Sam S — Google review
We came in an hour before closing time just when they took last orders, and it felt rushed. No dessert offered, only pizza dishes, no other dishes were available. We were ok with that and enjoyed the pizza we ordered - the dough is authentic although the topping / flavour is a tiny bit off - not 100% Italian but close (probably tailored to the local palate).
Linh M — Google review
Was so disappointed after high expectations based on my experience of Da Isa at its original location on Yamate Dori. The service was as brisk as ever, but almost silent, with none of the bustle and atmosphere when it was staffed by Italians. The pizzas are a little flacid and expensive compared to other pizzerias offering superior versions. The tiny “rucola salad” consisting of a small bunch of rucola on a bed of lettuce is nothing short of cynical profiteering at over ¥1,900 including tax. Compare that to the delicious, peppery rucola salad with at least twice the amount of rucola that’s included in the price of the ¥1,650 pizza lunch set at the award-winning La Tripletta in Musashi Koyama. Standards have slipped and perhaps unsurprisingly, we were able to walk in and a get a table on a Sunday night without a reservation. Back in the day at the Yamate dori you had to wait in a long snaking queue to get a table.

Already short after 21:00 they didn't want to serve appetisers and pizza was unfortunately much worst, than on my previous visit 6 years ago (too far away from right "Pizza Napolitana"). No soap on both toilets (for sure never there at all). I understood quite soon, why the reviews felt down so fast in the last years...

This restaurant has very reasonable beverages that it’s better to order bottles in stead of glassed wine. We ordered the appetizer plate, grill plate, and pizza. Pizza is the best pizza in Tokyo without a doubt. I think it is because of the stove, they have real, pour Napoli stove. My favorite is the grills. You can choose from pork, beef and lamb. Simply seasoned with salt and pepper. Still, I think they have very great stove that all the grills are great. I didn’t have a chance to try their desert because the food was in a good portion. Please try the pizza if you are here.

L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele, made famous by 'Eat, Pray, Love,' has expanded to Tokyo and quickly become a top pizza destination. The menu offers classic margherita and marinara options as well as variations like mushroom-topped and bianca pizzas. Known for its dedication to traditional Neapolitan pizza, this charming pizzeria in the heart of Tokyo delights enthusiasts with its perfect balance of chewy yet crispy crust and fresh, flavorful toppings.
I just got back from a trip to Italy where I had queued up for about 2 hours in the middle of the afternoon to try the Da Michele in Naples. The prices at this branch in Tokyo are quite a bit higher than the one in Italy, but the quality is very close to being the same, and I didn't have to wait to be seated. Would definitely go again. The Bianca pizza looked really good, so I would like to try that next time.

They serve very good Italian pizza--the Margherita and Marinara. One order can serve two. Their crust is very Italian and really tasty. They also serve Japanese styled pizza if one prefers. It's really popular and a queue could build especially during popular hours like lunch time and weekends.
John P — Google review
OVERRATED. Pizzas are expensive for what they are very much missing: toppings. Just plain dough and sauce. We ordered a margarita and a bianca. The bianca was burnt on some instance and tasted like burnt and its taste was very bland. That's a pity because the dough is actially very good. Overall the pizza is oversalted (probably to try to make you forget about the lack of garnish taste). Yes they're large, but they're also paper thin so the garnish will leak from the pizza, in other terms they're very difficult to eat with the hands. On top of that, the restaurant has the stupid rule of one item to order per person. We came at two people with the idea to share one, and ended up having no choice but ordering two which was too much and ended having to bring the rest home so we were bothered by their huge pizza box to have to carry on the way back home. A real bother to be honest and we were forced to order more than we wanted to eat. A shame these establishments keep on forcing customers to order more than what they want to eat or share. Another pity is the service charge that acts as a hidden cost that's written nowhere to be seen, so they steal you am additional 5% at the end when getting the bill. A shame. That said, hats down to the staff: really nice and available.

Given that the pizza scene in Tokyo is super-hot on the coolness scale right now (esp given all the world top-ranked pizza joints in the city), the competition is stiff. This institution has served top-ranked Napolitano pizzas since 2012 - straight from the Naples homeland. The ingredients were great, the pizza a tad soupy for my taste (and I know that comes with the territory), and the service kind. The menu is very limited and you still must make reservations. Overall, I had a very solid, very good Margarita pizza, but I didn't distinguish anything that would make it super-memorable. If you only have limited time in Tokyo, I'd spend it on more unique experiences.

Incredible large sized Napoli style pizza! The size of the pizza is generous. If you very hungry, you have have 1 to yourself but, you might want to share a couple items 😁 The Tiramisu was just okay, not much espresso flavor, it was a bit plain, and a bit expensive.

Of course nothing like in Napoli, but my expectations as an Italian in Japan for pizza were low. Problem: too watery. Fix the oven temperature and the mozzarella

Was: The interior resemble in a slightly more modern way the original Da Michele of Napoli. Staff was polite and friendly. Service was quick, but the restaurant was half empty so cannot say if is a standard. Menu is simple as from the original Da Michele tradition. But prices at lunch are a bit high, and this point is very different from the orignal Da Michele of Napoli, were you go to quickly eat a cheap, simple and delicious pizza. Actually pizza is big but taste is not the best in town. Also, and this is a big issue, my pizza was quite heavily contaminated by oven ash. Probably oven was not cleaned well but if you eat a pizza like that too often is not good for your health. Folklore note, here you can't get coffee at your table. At Da Michele in Napoli, as they offer pizza for low price, in change they ask you to leave the table right after ate to allow new customers to seat. So I guess here they doesn't offer coffee at table to avoid you stay too long at table after ate. 2024/6 The pizza marinara is very oily and that oil seems of a low quality. Their tomato also seems to be of low quality. Finally they serve coffee at table. Coffee ia good. Price is expensive for the qukity they offer.

Pizzakaya, located in Roppongi, has been serving up Californian-style pizza for over a decade. Their pizzas feature chunky crusts and unconventional toppings like guacamole and buffalo sauce chicken. Catering to various dietary needs, they offer gluten-free crusts and vegan cashew nut cheese. The menu also includes gluten-free appetizers and a house salad dressing that's completely free of gluten.
At the time of writing this review (April 10, 2025), we went to their new location on the 2F of a big office building (don’t remember what it’s called). Probably some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! Had a friendly chat with one of the co-owners as well, who mentioned that today was their first day open to the general public at this location. All of the employees we encountered spoke excellent English. A decent selection of craft brews on tap. At the recommendation of a fellow reviewer, we got the garlic marbles, which were delicious. The menu also has plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a good slice!

This pizza spot hit the spot 😜 The garlic knots are especially tasty, and I recommend asking for some tomato sauce for dipping. We enjoyed the basil pizza, which was quite flavorful. I'm looking forward to returning to try more options from their Detroit-style pizza selection! My husband loved their IPA beer options. I just wish we could have eaten more, but we were so full!

This has to be one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Japan. He makes an awesome gluten-free And the owner himself is super nice is from California and all of the food. Here is good. We got the wings the Caesar salad salad the gluten-free pizza as My kids have celiac disease and they absolutely loved it. It is probably the best gluten-free pizza we’ve ever had. The regular pizza is outstanding as well

Pizzakaya came through for us last night when we needed an urgent gluten-free dinner, and none of the other options we had researched were open (or indeed that affordable). It’s a little confusing about where to go, but google maps took us up Nadare Zaka from Roppongi-Dori Avenue to the side of the Sumimoto Fudosan Roppongi Grand Tower. We then crossed the street, and there was a staircase leading down inside the building (only 1 flight of stairs down from the street). You could see through the open floor past the railing to the station below. Stick to the left side as you come down those stairs from Nadare Zaka, and you will be in a corridor with shops on the left and glass windows on the right the whole way along. Pass a few other stores, and eventually you will see an automatic door ahead of you in the corridor. Go through it, and Pizzakaya is immediately on the left. The staff are all native English speakers by the looks of it, so even if your Japanese is a bit rough, you will be absolutely fine. They explained to us that anything marked gluten-free is always gluten-free, so you don’t have to specify whether you want it gluten free or not. They can’t do the Detroit pizza gluten free, and the gluten-free pizza only comes in the small size. Which is pretty normal even in my home country. We got the roast seasonal vegetables and bbq chicken pizza, and I appreciated how the chicken was in large, tasty pieces. As some other pizza places I’ve eaten at back home really skimp on the meat. Thanks Pizzakaya!
J D — Google review
We went here for dinner, and it couldn’t have been better! The pizzas were absolutely incredible — some of the best we’ve had. I just wish they had more branches around Tokyo. It’s a must-visit, especially if you’re vegetarian, as they offer plenty of delicious options. A special mention to Jack, who was exceptionally warm and helpful — checking in on us from time to time, guiding us with the menu, and even sharing some great local Tokyo tips. Truly a wonderful experience overall!
Jimit K — Google review
Pizzakaya has been a favorite of mine for over 20 years and I’m glad to see them continue in this new (slightly weird) location. The pizza here is not your typical Neapolitan or NYC style pie but it they do their own thing - California-style pizza. The flavors are on point and they bake the pizzas very well. My only gripe is that small lunch pizzas are not at the same level as the full size ones. The crust to sauce and topping ratio is way off and it feels like you’re eating mostly bread with very little cheese and toppings. Therefore, my advice would be to visit at dinner and order a full size pizza instead of visiting at lunch.

Best pizza in Tokyo! From the appetizers to the dessert, everything is delicious. The best one for me is the pepperoni pizza. I've been visiting this place for years and it never disappoints. 10/10 ✨

PIZZA SLICE is a popular spot in Shibuya, Tokyo, offering an authentic taste of New York-style pizza. The restaurant's interior exudes a lively and nostalgic atmosphere with its classic American vibe. It specializes in serving by-the-slice pizza with a concise range of classic toppings such as pepperoni, Italian sausage, anchovies, mushroom, jalapeno, meatballs, garlic and classic margarita.
Honestly some of the best pizza I’ve had since I started living in Japan. I’ve gotten tired of the Neapolitan style pizza and have been craving a proper New York style slice. This place definitely hit the spot and I was satisfied. Also the price of 550 yen per slice is pretty decent considering the size of the slice! Highly recommend if you’re tired of boring Japanese pizza.
Robert B — Google review
Yet another American food “gimmick”. Who is this place trying to cater to? Japanese people that want to experience “New York”? Or Americans trying to catch a taste of authentic NY-style pizza? The employees seemed a little rude, and the pizza itself tasted nothing like what I’m used to eating in New York. It tasted almost stale, and the toppings were flavorless. The cheese and sauce were also too sweet. I thought the fake NY health inspection letter grade card on the front was funny. Overall, I wouldn’t come again. It really was so unremarkable in every way.
Mari — Google review
A Casual Pizza Hangout Done Right 👍 PIZZA SLICE offers thin, crunchy, flavor-packed pizza in a relaxed, candlelit space with a cool, open vibe. The Cheese and Mushroom slices were standouts, while the garlic knots were a bit too heavy. With friendly staff, English menus, and great value at around 600 yen a slice, it’s a spot worth coming back to.
Sakura Y — Google review
Oh my goodness this pizza is perfection. I love NY style pizza, this pizza is not oily and has that crunch and subtle softness to it. I ordered the today’s pizza which had bacon, pineapple and onion, and one pepperoni pizza. Their buffalo wings was a nice snack, flavour is nice. I LOVE LOVE loooove the tomato sauce used on the pizzas. 🤍🤍🤍😵 Would go back 🫶🏻
Mariel ( — Google review
This is a NY slice pizza, which is my favourite type of pizza. You can order a slice or pie. I ordered a cheese and pepperoni slice. ⭐️ cheese slice. I don’t think it was warmed up in the oven. It tasted stale, the cheese was dry and so was the sauce. I didn’t like it at all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ pepperoni slice. this was heated up and there was sufficient sauce, and the cheese was gooey. When I took the first bite, I heard that crunch and knew the pizza was good. Still, something was off, it didn’t taste like a fresh slice. This place has the potential to be a top 5 NY slice in Tokyo, but that wasn’t the case today.
Brent — Google review
Really good New York style pizza! We were craving some pizza and decided to venture out to this place and really enjoyed it. Must try if you’re in the area, cool place with plenty of seating. The lunch sets are great value and would recommend trying the garlic knots!
Shima — Google review
Here with another pizza review. This time we’re at Pizza Slice in Shibuya. It’s like stepping out of Japan and into a Brooklyn pizza bar. Everything fits- subway tiles on the wall, soft rock music, oregano and red pepper shakers, paper plates, plastic cups of beer. Staff have copious tattoos. It’s all there. Thankful we have an outlet to escape the boring Neapolitan pizza joints that litter this city with mediocrity. This is a proper New York style (superior) establishment. The pizza is a standard New York slice. Football pizza. Good undercarriage, minimal flop, nice crisp. Nothing to write home about, but overall a good representation of NY pizza. Only complaint would be the crust isn’t as chewy (is the dough a cold rise?). Great pizza. I’ll be back.
J S — Google review
I miss this place, this was a perfect quiet spot to visit after class or work. The pizza itself is quite nice, a heavenly crispy undercarriage. I’d skip the garlic knots as it left a bit of a weird aftertaste. But I will definitely be coming back! The staff was also very friendly :)

DevilCraft Kanda, located in Tokyo's Kanda district, is a popular destination for beer enthusiasts and foodies alike. The restaurant boasts 14 rotating taps featuring their own brewery creations as well as selections from Japan and international brewers. Renowned for its delicious Chicago-style deep-dish pizzas, DevilCraft Kanda offers a unique dining experience with a friendly atmosphere.
This place is heaven on earth if you like craft beers and deep dish pizza. Officially my favorite place in Tokyo. The pizza is delicious and they have a huge variety of homebrewed craft beers. Their stouts are great, their barrel-aged barley wine is DIVINE. Only caveat: it’s a pretty small restaurant so they fill up quickly and it’s not really meant for families or large groups, although they do offer group plans. Try to reserve ahead of time if you can.

Never have I had Chicago style pizza, so cant really compare. Whatsoever the Pizza was very delicious. I had the Meatzza (Small deluxe, was enough for 100kg dawg like me) and a couple of draft beers. Veggie works pizza 👍👌 Great beer selection! Loudest place we ate in Japan. Kinda reminded me of Greece which was a pleasant surprise. Cheers 🍕🍻 !

DevilCraft Kanda was a treat. I originally thought I was only coming for Chicago style deep dish pizza, but I was wrong. All the craft brews are fantastic. They also sell their glassware if you're looking for a souvenir to remember your visit by. I'll be on the lookout for additional DevilCraft sites in my future visits to Japan.

Good pan/Chicago style pizza and excellent beer selection. They have genuine American West Coast style IPAs on tap that are not old/spoiled (quite rare for Tokyo). They have chicken wings on the menu but no buffalo sauce style, which was disappointing. Service and atmosphere was good. Prices are high for the quality of pizza in my opinion. I would come back for a beer but likely not the pizza.

The best!!! I can't get this good Chicago pizza on the west coast of the USA. This is now my most favorite place to eat in Kanda!!!

If you are craving Chicago style deep dish, this is the place. A bit of a walk from the train station, this place serves up good American fare and very good pizza.

This is a great place to come when you want pizza but not the usual fare. They have pan pizzas, but you come here for the deep dish. We’ve been several times and I was surprised to see I hadn’t reviewed it earlier. They have a nice range of starters and bar bites, a good selection pizzas available in two sizes, and a very large selection of craft beers. Service is helpful and friendly. There are several outlets around Tokyo, so if you don’t happen to be in Kanda, you can check out one of the others. Reservations are recommended though it is possible to do a walk-in if you time it right.

Pizzeria GG is a casual neighborhood restaurant located in a basement near Inokashira Park. The cozy eatery offers authentic and affordable Naples-style pizza with a clear American influence. Despite its unconventional toppings like fries and wieners on the Americano pie, the prices are reasonable without compromising on quality. The seating arrangement provides a view of the kitchen and its impressive oven, adding to the dining experience.
One of the best pizzas in Tokyo! We went for lunch and although it was full, they managed to seat us in about 10 minutes. All of the food came quickly. The pizzas were really good, with the tomato sauce standing out specifically. They had a good balance of crust thickness and ingredients. The place is rather small so it can feel a bit crammed. The staff was polite and attentive. Overall it is a bit pricier than other places but worth it
Radu P — Google review
I saw that it was said that it was the third-ranked Neapolitan pizza in the world, so I went there for its fame. After experiencing it, the pizza is 3.5 stars, and I don't want to give it even one star if the service can. There were not many people that day, with a total of three to four tables of guests. In the later stage of our meal, there was obviously no finished salad on the plate. A waitress came over and signaled to remove the plate. I understood that she was driving away the guests. I was not angry. I picked up the fork and began to finish the remaining salad quickly, so the waitress was about to take away the plate. Unexpectedly, the waitress slipped and the plate fell on the table, making a loud noise. However, the merchant did not express any apology. I think she also realized that this was very rude and rude. I'm sorry that this happened in Japan! It's really hard to describe the service. It's a terrible experience!!!

Tokyo has the issue of having a lot of average pizzerias. Out of ~20 pizzerias this is one of the best I have found. This is authentic. Tiramisu and espresso are also authentic. Excellent experience, strong recommend.

My favourite pizzeria in Kichijoji. They have a super value for money lunch deal. This place serves Neapolitan style pizza made in a stone fired oven. Every bite yields an unforgettable flavour profile. Must try the burrata tomato salad. This place is a must try if you love pizzas.
M4l2K T — Google review
You hear a lot of the same names repeated within the Tokyo pizzeria scene, many them located near the Meguro or Minato areas (ahem). But this one seems to fly under the radar for most tourists, but I think locals know this place well. I think GG's margherita pizza competes for the best in the city. They have a classic stone oven, which creates that unmistakable rustic, fire-charred crust. The only thing is, they're a little pricey, maybe even a little more so than the other popular pizzerias.
Paul Y — Google review
Good pizza. Good service. Good atmosphere. Simply put, I will be back.
Henry L — Google review
Highly recommended ! If you are in Kichijoji you have to try this !!! Come early to avoid disappointment ! Don't be surprised when you see people queueing as early as 2h before they open. There is a reason for it 🤣 😜 If you like German style bread ( thick and chewy) than you will love this pizza place ! The dough smells like bread and is thick , tender and chewy. The pizza had mozzarella cheese filling and created a real dramatic flavor experience. Reservation for lunch is not possible, but you will be rewarded with a drink and a mini desert. There are 30+ seats and the attentive staff will be happy to help you choose the right one :-) Come for dinner if you like it quiet or want to bring someone special ! Last order is around 22:00, so there is plenty of time to make your way through the rich menu.

Among the best price/perfomance pizza in Tokyo. Staff is polite. The place is small and rathely inexpensive so you are allowed to stay max 90 minutes. The pizza dough is the traditional one, they also have other typical dishes of napoli. Their ortolani pizza is delicious and if you ask without cheese, it can be suitable for vegans.

Savoy Tomato & Cheese is a well-known pizza place in Tokyo that is celebrated for its perfectly sized and textured pizzas, as well as its high-quality ingredients. The restaurant offers a diverse selection of pizzas, such as Pizza Marinara, Pizza Margherita, and Pizza Bianca. Among these options, the Marinara stands out as a customer favorite due to its simplicity and exceptional taste.
Topnotch pizzas tucked away from the busy streets of Tokyo. No line at lunch so my hungry self was ready for three pizzas. Tried the sukiyaki and tuna pizzas and both were totally new experiences for me and surprisingly good. The crust was perfect and the flavors were unique but worked really well. We talked with the owner I guess? and he said that summer is the best time to go to avoid long lines. People hates summer heat :))

Fantastic spot for Neapolitan-style pizza. The dough was nicely seasoned, with a crispy, beautifully charred crust that hit all the right notes. Toppings were high quality especially the bluefin tuna pizza, which was super fresh and surprisingly delicious. The space is cozy and thoughtfully designed, with counter seats facing the open kitchen so you can watch all the action as the pizzas are made. Service was smooth and there wasn’t much of a wait between orders. I didn’t have a reservation but showed up about an hour before opening and managed to get a seat. Most of the crowd seemed to be tourists, but the quality definitely lived up to the Netflix Ugly Delicious hype.

I went to this location since the other Savoy nearby had a long queue. I am glad i did. I got there 5 minutes before open and there was 3 people queued up. I was seated right away. The inside of this store is more intimate and I liked the ambience better. The pizza quality is the same as the other location from what I remember. I usually get a margarita pizza to compare it to other places. This was just as good. I enjoy the sauce savoy makes and topped with olive oil. Summary - this is a top tier Neapolitan pizza in Tokyo
Brent — Google review
This was honestly the best pizza I’ve had in Tokyo and one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten in the world. Everything was super fresh, and you could really see the quality in every bite. It’s a very small place, I’d say it only fits around eight people. So I definitely recommend making a reservation. We didn’t book, so we ended up waiting about 30 minutes, but that was totally on us. Once we got in, the food was absolutely amazing and the staff were so kind. Truly a must-visit spot. And if you don’t feel like eating sushi every day, this is the perfect place to smash a delicious pizza! 🍕✨

The tuna pizza was surprisingly amazing! The combination of fresh tuna with the crispy crust and melted cheese was perfectly balanced — rich, savory, and slightly smoky. Every bite had that perfect mix of freshness and umami. The toppings were generous, and the flavors came together beautifully without being too heavy. Definitely one of those unique dishes you wouldn’t expect to love this much — 5/5 and would absolutely order again!

I was really unsure about the true pizza quality before I go, because comments about pizza are kind of exaggerated and dramatic. But after I tasted the pizza, I stood to the same side as these comments. They are true. The pizza was exceptional good and so tasty that you bite once and the next moment the pizza is already finish. We ate Margherita pizza and Tuna pizza. Tuna pizza is a more original design, which is a very cool combination of western and Japanese food. I will recommend this pizza, to people who wants a great experience of food in Tokyo.
Jonathan P — Google review
Delicious Pizzas and Excellent Service We ordered three pizzas — the Marinara, Bluefin Tuna, and Hida Beef Bismarck. They were all absolutely delicious, but our favorite was definitely the Hida Beef — the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the dough was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent; the staff were very polite, friendly, and helpful throughout our meal. Although the restaurant is small, it has a cozy atmosphere with plenty of space to dine comfortably. Overall, a wonderful experience — great food, great service, and a place we’d definitely come back to!
Latifa — Google review
After so many glowing reviews and recommendations, we came to Savoy very excited. We didn’t have a reservation, the wait wasn’t long at all but we were seated downstairs in what appears to be another restaurant. We were pretty much ignored by the Savoy staff and only served by the staff on the restaurant downstairs. That aside, it was quite an expensive meal for 2 entree and 2 pizzas. The tuna pizza being the iconic dish is unique but nothing mind blowing. The Margherita Pizza was pretty bland, you can’t really taste the sauce or basil it was just dough and cheese in flavour. I think the true disappointment for us was both pizza was drowned in oil to the point where it was soggy. It became sickening. I wish we had the experience and adoration everyone else had.

Great pizza in Tokyo recommended by Michelin Bib Gourmand. It was definitely worth it. We had to wait in line a bit due to the popularity, but the pizza is worth it. Ordered the Linsieme and the Parmigiana. The fried squid and fried shrimp appetizer was also amazing. Definitely want to come back and try out more of their menu. Everything was delicious, and I need to try their options apart from typical pizza.

I have been wanting to try pizza in Japan for a very long time since I've heard Tokyo is home to some of the best pizza places in the world. I finally got my chance this trip. We picked one of the Michelin rated spots in the Tokyo area to try and it did not disappoint. Surprisingly there was no wait for lunch time and the prices are very reasonable. They offer a lunch menu which I think just comes with a free drink and any pizza of your choice. I think the pizza prices are the same as the dinner prices. The pizza here is Neopolitan style with the perfect chewy soft crust and has the signature leopard spots on the bottom. Pizza cooks super fast in 1-2 minutes and has a very thing crust. We tried the famous Margarita which for me is the standard pizza I use to compare all pizza places. For our 2nd pizza, we chose something from the specialty menu which was double the price but totally worth it. Since it was mushroom season, we order the specialty Shitake Mushroom pizza 3300yen.
Alyssa N — Google review
The pizza is really good, but expensive. On top of that you are also forced to buy something to drink... Plus a 200 yen sitting fee. So expect to pay at least close to 3000 yen, even if you just want a pizza. Honestly if you're in the mood for pizza there's another place on the north side of the station with much better prices and pretty much the same taste.. But without extra fees and the need to buy a drink.

The pizza base is beautiful, I love the bread almost more than the topping. The staff was very helpful even though I showed up with no booking, just enough time for me to finish my meal. If you are visiting, try contacting them to book first! Staff and menu are also English friendly. I'll be back to try out more things in their menu.

Pizzeria e Braceria L'INSIEME in Tokyo is a place I'd highly recommend for anyone craving top-notch pizza in Japan. Their Napoli-style pizza is a standout, particularly due to the perfect char on the bottom, which adds a delightful texture and flavor. The atmosphere at L'INSIEME is just what you'd want from a pizzeria - casual and unpretentious, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The focus here is clearly on the quality of the food, and it shows in every bite of their delicious pizzas. In conclusion, if you're in Tokyo and looking for some of the best pizza the city has to offer, Pizzeria e Braceria L'INSIEME should definitely be on your list. Their combination of perfect Napoli-style pizza and a laid-back atmosphere makes for a dining experience that's both satisfying and enjoyable. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

I had a margherita for the lunch special. The dough was cooked exactly how I like it; not too charred, and a bit chewy. I think it was the best pizza I've had in Tokyo so far, and excellent value, too.
James — Google review
From an Italian point of view: the pizza is very good, pretty much similar to the one that you could find in Italy. The only remarkable difference is that the pizza is a bit smaller compared to the size that you would normally have in Italy, but this is typical of Japan as in general the portions are smaller here compared to Italy/Europe. Did not try the rest of the menu. They charge for “coperto” and water like in Italy (this is untypical of Japan), but I guess it plays in making the experience “authentic”. Would definitely recommend if you crave a nice, proper pizza.

My food was honestly really good my only thing is it wasn’t crispy in the middle so everything was falling off my pizza and it was greasy. My lemonade was excellent!

I had a very fun time with my friends. We came in with no reservation and were able to be seated within seconds. We would have to leave the table after 90 minutes, but that’s no problem at all. It’s a fun DIY experience, where you can choose your sauce, cheese and toppings. Though, as pizza usually does, it tends to become quite expensive fast. The pizza tasted great, the staff was helpful and kind and we made some great memories, while spending about 4000¥ per person, which isn’t too great, but also not too bad!

Delicious and fresh pizza made right in front of you! The staff are all very friendly and speak English well. Very little wait time for the food, and everything was reasonably priced.
Lilly S — Google review
Pretty good! It’s similar to a pizza self service/buffet—you get to customize your pizza with your choice of toppings at the register, and they do the same with salads as well. It wasn’t anything special but it was good.
ItsMasooma — Google review
Pizza was ok but not exceptional. The first slice was the best and every following slice got softer and soggier. I had the white pizza with added olives and my partner had the margharita with added olives. Pizza prices were decent drink prices felt high.

Pizzeria Bella Napoli is a beloved establishment in Fukagawa, Tokyo, known for its expertly made Neapolitan pizzas. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious options, including the popular margherita and the generously topped rucola e prosciutto. Situated in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, this stylish eatery boasts an authentic stone oven that yields chewy yet crispy and fragrant crusts.
An outstanding Neapolitan pizzeria in Tokyo that fully deserves its years of Michelin recognition. The ambiance is lovely, the service was very friendly (and there are English menus for westerners), and the food was top-notch across the board. As an American, it was very interesting to see how the pizza and salad were subtly adapted to Japanese tastes, just like in the US the flavors are surely adapted to our tastes. Totally recommend and would definitely return!

I'm Italian so I definitely know a thing or two about pizza. This is truly an Italian pizza! delicious and light dough, sauce and mozzarella according to the rules of art and quality ingredients. Very friendly and helpful staff…ah, I almost forgot, the limoncello was delicious.
Giuseppe L — Google review
One of Tokyo's best pizzerias - style hews closer to Neapolitan rather than "Tokyo Neapolitan" (i.e. not too much of a "salt punch") but each item we got was excellent. Dough with good leoparding, a little crunch and soft chew. Pizzas are light and digestible, with delicious sauce and cheese. Recommending the Margherita, the Rucola e Prosciutto, and the Bismarck. We also ordered a Lasagna Bolognese (tasty, balanced) and a Tiramisu - which was also wonderful.

A lovely place in a lovely area. My Fiancé and I both got margarita pizzas, I got the buffalo cheese one and he got the regular. Both were great, but I preferred mine over his. We also ordered the caprese a paragone which was my favorite part of the entire experience! I ordered the Kir Royale for a drink and it was delicious! As far as service goes… they are all very friendly and the waiter constantly ensures you have everything you need to enjoy your time there. He refilled our waters every chance he had and the woman working was also very sweet. The pizza is made in front of you and then out in their own wood fire oven, charring the pizza to perfection. It was all in all an excellent experience.

Me and my wife went here a few days ago for some pizza and pasta. We weren't exactly impressed with the reviews we read about how the staff runs the place, but it was late and we needed some place to eat dinner and this one was the nearest that served Italian. Unfortunately, everything we've read turned out to be true: 1. The lady that takes the orders does actually shouts. A LOT. It really doesn't make you wanna stay there and eat but rather to just take the food and go. 2. The rest of staff attitude wasn't very welcoming either. We tried asking them if we could change seats to a different table that we liked but they responded that we couldn't, because it was a table for three people and we were two, which would've made sense if they didn't already sat us down in a table for three (the table we sat in literally had three chairs). Pointing out that minor detail to the staff granted us with some more shouting but didn't help us and we eventually kept sitting at our original table. 3. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered the cuatro formaggio pizza and the vodka pasta which were both just ok but that's it. 4. The crown jewel of this questionable experience was the bill. Unlike other restaurants that highlight the price without tax and put the price including the tax right next to it, this restaurant you only find out about the final price at the cash register, after you didn't get why the bill is way higher than what it should be. Also worth mentioning is the fact that you have to pay a fee for the table, which isn't something we didn't see in other places but it's not that common even in Japan and anyways they usually tell you about it before you sit down and eat. When we dared asking about all the extra charges (which summed up to additional 20% of the entire bill!) the lady gave us the dirtiest look like we accused her of stealing or something. If you kept reading until now, I would suggest skipping this place and just go to the domino's nearby and call it a day.

My dad told me this is the best pizza place in Tokyo and I went there in doubt. Tho it did go above and beyond of my expectations for sure. We order three pizza and all of them were fantastic. It might been the best pizza I’ve ever had. Other dishes were great but honestly the pizza is their specialty. The restaurant is in between Morishita station and Kiyosumi station, abt 5-7min on foot. Very easy to get to. It’s super crowded so best to make reservation on the weekend. Pizza is abt ¥2,000-2,500ish. If you are pizza lover, you should check this place out.

Very bad service, the hostess was rude when I asked her to explain the bill because they add extra charges (taxes and tablr charge). Way too expensive, and they don’t even know how to put the cheese properly on the pizza. It’s an insult to Italian food.

FREY's Famous Pizzeria is a charming and unpretentious spot located on a quiet street in Roppongi, near Tokyo Midtown. The menu, handwritten on scrawled boards, features a simple selection of Neapolitan-style pizzas cooked in a large metal oven. With just three options – margherita, marinara, and bianca – the focus is on quality ingredients. Additional toppings like spicy salami and mushrooms are available to customize your pizza.
I have read a couple of the negative reviews and I can’t disagree more. From walking in, the service staff are great and make you feel at home, really friendly and accommodating. You can see the care the pizza master takes in preparing his pizza’s. The pizza itself is great and tastes great, not greasy like other places and the sauce packs a great taste. The crust is brilliant and love the base! A no thrills pizza place with top class pizza. As a side note the coffee is brilliant and great to enjoy after a tasty pizza !

Tasty pizzas but not the best I've had in Tokyo. Big pizza oven. Service was average, I think there was a trainee. Not much vibe.
Douglas A — Google review
The service was excellent and the pizzas were delicious. They were the perfect size to have one by yourself. Between family and I, I got to try the margherita, marinara, sunny-side up, and mushroom pizzas, and I would recommend them all!
Charlotte J — Google review
SO GOOD! Perfect place for a solo traveler. The chef/owner starts from making a dough as soon as the order is placed. The margherita is very thin. The pizza tasted a bit salty in the beginning, but things started made a better sense as the cold turns colder on the plate. The dough itself carries a bit of sour taste that soon converts into savoury flavour. Plus, the coffee was pretty nice- which was unexpected. Anyways, as I was writing this down, an Italian guy who speaks fluent Japanese came and had a fulll course meal (mozzarella + a bottle of white wine + a pizza) here…. Approved, right? Lol
Sunny K — Google review
Simple place serving good Neapolitan pizza in general, and one outstanding pizza in particular. The smoked mozzarella margarita one is to die for and a must order. Beer on the expensive side, pizzas fairly priced at 2,000 yen mostly. Basic interior, not a place to linger especially, but a vey good spot to get a pizza fix.

Minimum one pizza one drink order per person. Fuss free but beautiful chewy and tasty pizza. Crazy good. Pizzas are made fresh to order yet still comes out relatively quickly. Great service and English menu available.

This place should be rated much higher. I've had pizza all over the world. From NYC to Italy and everywhere in between. As a result, I'm very picky. This is some really great pizza. I think it'll be tough for you to find anything better in Tokyo. They use a real wood fired oven and you can tell the difference. If I didn't know better, I'd think I was in Italy.

Pizzeria Ciro is a popular spot known for its authentic and well-priced Napoli-style pizzas. The place is always bustling, even during off-peak hours, which speaks to its popularity. Customers rave about the flavorful pizzas, such as the marinara and diavola, which are expertly baked by the in-house pizza queen. The quality of ingredients used sets this pizzeria apart from others in Japan, making for a unique taste experience.
Amazing food especially for travellers, and the service is great. It’s near the station which is handy and the staff are really nice. 100 percent recommend for all people. Great place if you have 4 or less people, due to limited space on the inside

A small good Pizzeria, When the owner chef is there making pizza himself, the pizza taste is excellent. But when he is off, taste is just average (however still better than in many other places ) Service is fair. A small Japanese young waitress was very kind. Location is good close to the station and not any other good Pizzeria around. They have a few outside table that are good when weather allow it to eat outside.

Very pretty mural painted on the wall. Lots of Italian memorabilia around. The owner clearly cares about authenticity and knows what he’s doing. Also received a favorable review in the Michelin guide for several years running. Pizza did not disappoint. I had the pesto and I can recommend it. It was delicious. Perfect mix of flavors. Amazing service too. Pizza came out in like 10 minutes. Amazing oven. Dough rolled fresh right in front of you. Unbeatable in Kyoto.

Nestled in the heart of Tokyo, Pizzeria La Rossa is a culinary gem that showcases the artistry of pizzaiolo Hideyuki Maruyama. With extensive experience honed through stints in Italy and local establishments, Maruyama brings his passion for authentic pizza to life here. The menu features reasonably priced pizzas crafted from high-quality San Felice flour, ensuring each bite is a delightful experience.
I almost want to gatekeep this pizza shop as it’s already so hard to get a reservation. As a preface, Pizzeria la Rossa seems to aspire to a very simple, but serious mission with everything in its menu: offer authentic flavors using only the freshest ingredients. Pizzas may seem like they could be more flavorful, but really, take a moment to appreciate just how fresh each component tastes. Appetizers: The calamari frite and carpaccio. Great for starters and the volume is just right. Pizzas: Melanzane (basically a Margherita with deep friend and eggplant) Balsamico (the one with rucola) Both were fantastic — the pies may seem large at first but the undercarriage is on the thinner side and therefore not too heavy on the digestive system. Also note that even though the pie may be thin, it is definitely structurally sound. Dessert: Tiramisu - from what I can gather this is more on the authentic. Portion was a bit small for two but definitely delicious.

We really enjoyed our meal at Pizzeria la Rossa. It’s in an unassuming street and suburb, but the food was superb. We were surprised how they supplied the genuine ingredients in Tokyo. Previous reviews refer to disappointing service. The lady who served us was clearly not there at those times. She was attentive and displayed a lovely character - doing well to explain the fine points of the menu. A highlight of our week in Tokyo.

Best Pizza in the area, a step above La Tripletta and Salvatore -- the La Rossa is very very tasty authentic Italian Pizza with large bases and great toppings - their Diavalo was far superior to La Triplettas' for example. Nice open seating area inside, great for kids. Friendly service (2 young girls when we visited) although we were made to wait outside while our Table was being prepared (which was a bit strange on a cold night with our young daughter). Cash only. Will revisit.

Pizza Marumo is a unique pizzeria in Tokyo's Ebisu neighborhood, where Chef Yuki Motokura skillfully combines Japanese ingredients with traditional Italian pizza-making techniques. The restaurant offers a blend of classic Neapolitan-style pizzas like Margherita and Pizza Marinara, as well as innovative 'Tokyo-style' creations such as the Japanese Umami pizza, featuring shiitake paste, mozzarella, pecorino, bonito flakes, and shaved kombu kelp.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely adore Japanese cuisine, but after a few days, we were craving some classic comfort food, and this place delivered perfection with their pizza! We got incredibly lucky and walked in for lunch without a reservation, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Every dish was a delight, but the pizza? Hands down, some of the best we’ve ever had! Each bite was packed with flavor, and the quality was unmatched. If you’re looking for a spot to satisfy your comfort food cravings with top-notch service, this place is a must-visit!

The pizzas are light and fluffy. The outer crust is relatively thin, but crunchy and flavourful. No salt on the bottom, which I thought would have been nice. However, we had one very special Umami Pizza with bonito flakes, mackrel, shiitake mushrooms and spring onions (white base). That was a really interesting and delicious pizza, so much so that we came back two days later to have it again! The other pizza was a margherita topped with black pepper and prosciutto.. also very nice. I do recommend to book two months in advance or you need to hope to get some for takeaway like us! 8.75/10 🍕

A very high quality pizzaria in Tokyo. Everything was very excellent from the focaccia to the lemon cheesecake with Basque cream. The pizza was really really good and well garnished, the crust was very well cooked, thin and had no burn taste at all (which is important to me), the texture was very soft. For me it was perfect 😁. The price can be a little on the higher side for Tokyo but still less than Europe. And you get a very high quality service, a view of the chefs preparing the pizzas. For English speaker, have no worries the staff spoke English fairly well and had no problem understanding me or other clients so don't be afraid ! I recommend getting their early or have a reservation. A lot of people come to this place and it fills up really quick. However you can make a reservation directly at the restaurant once it is open.
Ewen G — Google review
Pizza Marumo was an intimate experience where you are able watch the team make the pizza and then delivered it right in front of you. Staff here are very accomodating and you are even able to talk to chef Marumo. The pizza was quite affordable and ranged from classics to their own Japanese spin on pizza. The pizza was delicious with a thin base, light toppings and crunchy crust. Would definitely recommend booking as this place is quite busy.

🤯 Was not expecting a top pizza experience visiting Tokyo. We visited at 5pm (reserved in advance) as they were opening for day. The restaurants is a small intimate space with the open kitchen/oven as the focal point. The 90s hip-hop music sets the vibe for an unforgettable dinner. We sat at the counter. As the server got our drink order, Chef Yuki Motokuri stopped by to give us some recommendations from the menu. You can tell he and his team are very passionate and masters of their craft. The service was great. As our crisp draft beer glasses emptied it was always quickly replaced with a fresh one. For dinner we went with the margarita/marinara half & half and the Japanese special pizzas. The Japanese pizza was so unique and bursting with flavour. The margarita and marinara was just simple delivery to really let the crust and sauce shine. Now I am stuck back in Canada trying to figure out where I can get a pizza with mackerel and bonito flakes. 😃 I hope we have the opportunity to visit again one day.

Delicious pizza, can’t recommend enough. Get the wagyu one. Seriously one of the best bites we’ve had in Japan. Make a reservation in advance if you want to avoid a wait. There is a bit of a wait for the food once you get seated, but if you’re lucky you’ll be at the counter watching them make the pizzas. Service is great as well. We also ordered the roasted veggies which were delicious and made with seasonal veggies, as well as a red pie with prosciutto
Leslie C — Google review
As Italians, we really don’t understand the hype, nor how it’s possible for them to be so high in rankings. There are many good pizza places in Japan, and this one is one of the most popular ones, featured in rankings, super hard to book. We have tried a great deal of Napoli-style pizzerie around here, and we were sorry to be disappointed by this one after waiting 2 months for our appointment. Their pizzas sound really good on the menu, unusual ingredients paired together for a Japanese-Italian fusion concept. So we went for 2 of those (Japanese Umami, and Lamb and Harissa), and 1 more classic one, tomato-based with prosciutto. •Firstly, where are the flavors? The description on the menu promises lots of things, but we couldn’t taste 2/3s of the ingredients, which were also scarce on the pizza. Although to be fair, so many of those ingredients with bold flavors all together does sound like a risky choice. There’s so much that you don’t taste anything. So if you do go, we recommend a more classic one. •Secondly, the dough dries out fast. That’s a huge problem. When you start wanting to leave the crust, it’s a big indication of not a very high quality dough. We’re very sorry we didn’t love it, but considering the hype, the rankings, the price, and the wait of 2 months, this pizza is very far from being in our top 10 in Tokyo-Kanagawa. It makes us sad to leave bad reviews and we rarely do. Maybe it was a bad day for the chef?
Alessia M — Google review
We were excited to try this place as we heard such great reviews about this place online. Despite not getting a reservation we still tried our luck to try and get a seat when the doors opened for dinner seating at 5pm. We got there 10 min before and there were two people waiting already. Shortly after we got there, a line of 10+ people formed. Unfortunately we werent able to get one, but we were able to order take out. The couple ahead of us were able to get seating for 7pm. We ordered japanese umami and red hot chili but was left somewhat underwhelmed. The crust was nicely cooked, but the pizza in general was overly oily and nothing extraordinary. Maybe dining in would be a different experience, but based off what we got we would not return or wait in line for the pizza. Another thing that left a sour taste in our mouth was while we were waiting for our takeout order, another couple that did not make a reservation was somehow able to walk in and get seating despite us being told there were no spots left. So it does seem like like walk in is arbitrarily decided by the staff.

Nestled in the vibrant Azabudai Hills, Risto Pizza is a culinary gem that embodies modern Italian hospitality. Opened in 2023 by the talented chef Giuseppe Errichiello, affectionately known as Peppe, this restaurant invites you to experience the essence of Naples right in Tokyo. With an enticing menu featuring both pizze rosse and pizze bianche, guests can indulge in classic flavors starting with a margherita classica.
A really proper Italian pizza restaurant. I think I saw an article that said it was ranked 2nd in Asian pizza restaurants. It claims to be a perfect Italian restaurant from the atmosphere, and both the most famous star-shaped pizza and the Neapolitan pizza are perfect from the dough to the cheese. The servers are also excellent, so they don't make you wait, and in the case of pasta, they even show their sense by dividing it into two bowls. If it wasn't located in the complex called Azabudai Hills, and was operated as a separate store, it could have received a Michelin star. It's a restaurant with enough capacity. It seems like this is the best pizza restaurant in Japan.

The crust is perfect, the ingredients are fresh and high-quality, and you can really taste the passion behind every dish. I especially recommend the Don Salvo, just the right amount of ricotta and flavor! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a relaxed date night. Service is fast, friendly, and attentive!!! ☺️ RistoPizza has quickly become one of my favorite spots. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s definitely worth a visit. Buonissimo!✨

Unremarkable pizza, poor service, and somewhat expensive. Easily the worst Neapolitan pizza I’ve had in Tokyo. Undercooked watery mozzarella and zero crisp on the crust. 6.2 on the One Bite scale. Arancini and bolognese were pretty good. My wife and I did the set dinner which advertised as coming with 2 pizzas, but we received only one. Do not recommend for a date night as it’s a casual spot with poor service.

We had a weekday lunch with my family, and all of us ordered the lunch set, which included a salad, a choice of pizza or pasta, and a drink. The salad was just tuna and corn—something simple that I could easily make at home. The seafood pasta and the pizza were both very tasty, and the mushroom pasta was nice and creamy as well. While most of the staff were kind and attentive, one male staff member with long hair didn’t smile and had an unwelcoming attitude, which affected the overall experience. So, I have mixed feelings about this place.

We were excited to try this since it has won awards. However after the experience, I felt like it wasn't justified. The free bread/sticks were stale and tough. The pizza itself was nice but not amazing. The crust were a bit too doughy. The Kumara cream and fried enoki was quite interesting but overall it wasn't an amazing experience for the price we paid.

The service was very disappointing. We waited for our pizzas for 35 mins and meanwhile they didn’t get the focaccia bread as well to start with. They gave us the focaccia bread after 20 mins of ordering without any cutlery. They did not even offer us water until we asked for it. And they charge cover for such a pathetic service The restaurant space is shared with another restaurant which is so weird. There was a big group in the next restaurant which was very loud and disturbing for us. Pizza was decent, not extraordinary. Not worth the prize and the hype.

Partenope is a certified pizzeria in Hiroo that follows authentic Napoli traditions to create incredible pizzas. While they keep it simple with their foolproof margherita, they also offer seasonal specialties. The cozy Italian restaurant is popular among families, couples, and groups for its great pizzas, gnocchi, and seafood. Despite the soft and chewy crust, many consider it the best pizza in Tokyo for its great value.
Cozy pizza in Hiroo! Really liked the Antici Sapori pizza and calamari.

It's one of the very strange places with good overall ratings but disappoint badly. I had a pizza craving and found this place via a search. When I came in, service was kind of cold, perhaps not expecting someone to come in at 8pm. I was pointed to my seat, and I sat there waiting. It was only when I called for attention then the waiter offered the menu to me. He left 3 slips on the table without saying anything which was very odd and kind of rude. The pizza (I'm assuming it's their classic) came out real fast after I ordered (maybe less than 5 minutes) and it was not hot to begin with! Even though taste was alright, the mild temperature of the pizza left me with a puzzled look. Gauging that the price is on the high side (which is expected in Hiro-o), I struggle to find value in dining here for pizzas. Overall the vibes here appear restless, and probably just want you to be done with your pizza and out as soon as you step in.

Was really looking forward to having a pizza here my 2 year old was even more excited only to be turned away as they have a no children policy! What was more rude was the staff wouldn’t let us wait inside until I found a cab for my wife and daughter it was freezing outside. I would never recommend this place to anyone!

PIZZA SALVATORE CUOMO 明大前 is a popular Italian restaurant located in Tokyo, offering a cozy and nice atmosphere for diners. Situated near Meidaimae station, the restaurant provides an outdoor terrace that allows guests to enjoy the beautiful Mori Garden. The menu offers a good balance of price and quality, with options like spinach pizza being highly recommended.
The venue is ideal for meetings with friends. Nice food and considerate staff. Nice and warm space. I will always remember the fragrance and the richness of pho.

Pizza was a 6.7/10 some slices didn't have cheese on them. Delivery driver was friendly and the pizza delivery box has a hot stone in it so pizza still hot when it arrived.

Mitsukoshi Ginza is a renowned department store located in the flashy Ginza district. It occupies 16 floors and offers a wide range of products, including designer apparel, housewares, cosmetics, and gourmet food. The B2 level features a variety of ready-made food, sweets, and baked goods, while the B3 level houses an impressive supermarket with high-quality ingredients and an extensive cheese counter. Additionally, the store provides refrigerated coin lockers for perishable goods.
This is an amazing shop and the food floor is not to be missed. This is what a department store should be like. The cafe is really nice as well and the very tasty food is excellent value for money and the staff were lovely. Although this is essentially a shop, there is plenty to do and see here and we'll worth the visit.

There's a beautiful garden on the top floor (9th). There was a lot of people in the mall even during a weekday afternoon. The lifts were a bit slow, so we had to take the escalators most of the time.

Mitsukoshi Ginza is a large department store located on the main shopping street of Ginza. The two basement levels feature beautifully presented food in the traditional Japanese style. The upper floors offer clothing, cosmetics, gifts, and more, though the overall style feels quite old-fashioned. Nestled in the upscale area of west Shinjuku, Park Hyatt Tokyo offers luxurious rooms and suites, some featuring breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. The hotel provides a serene retreat from the bustling city, with a complimentary shuttle to Shinjuku Station. Made famous by its appearance in Lost in Translation, this five-star hotel boasts elegant rooms with stunning vistas of the city lights and walk-in closets.
Service is impeccable. The rooms are spotless. The Japanese breakfast is a delicious and bountiful feast--so much so that you may be full until dinnertime. This may be the only downside. You won't be able to enjoy the great food that the city has to offer. The rooms, furniture and lighting do feel a bit...older, but not in a bad way. I enjoyed the 90s feel to it, like entering a time capsule. Unlike other hotels in which this would be a negative, there was a quiet luxurious charm to it all. Go to the swimming pool. Skip the NY bar.
Ted L — Google review
Our stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo was memorable. The service was outstanding, staff were attentive, and always made us feel welcome. The room was on the smaller side, but it was very comfortable, spotless, and had an incredible view of the city. The design and details made it feel cozy and special, even without a lot of space. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a calm, elegant atmosphere. The restaurants and New York Grill & Bar are great, having a drink with the skyline view is a must. The location is excellent, Overall, Park Hyatt Tokyo combines luxury and hospitality.

This was the first stop on our honeymoon to Japan and Korea and it did not disappoint. The hotel is gorgeous and the views are incredible. They upgraded us and had gifts for us, which included champagne, flowers, and a framed photo of us. The service was the best of the hotels we were at. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The gym is amazing, too. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Staying as a Globalist at this property on points/SUA. Amazing service throughout my stay. Lots of pros, some cons. Do note the property is going through a big renovation after May 6, 2024 and not reopening for 18+ months. Staying in the lovely Park Suite, which has a dining table/4 chairs, and a living room area all in the same room, with another center round table with sofas and sofa seats. Japan hotels also have a huge list of items they can give to you complimentary which is really nice. Suite was a huge room, with a living room and a table to dine on. The bathroom was also huge with a tub, wall in shower, Dyson hairdryer, and nice Toto bidet. Breakfast was included for Globalists and it was outstanding. The service at the restaurant was amazing and had a wonderful selection. Where it shines is the room service was also included and presented really well. They were professional every morning and let us order anything off the menu, without even a bill to sign. The pool and fitness area were also really nice, and Globalists also got access to their spa. I did not spend that much time there, but it had nice views of the city.

I was fortunate to have a 2 night stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo before it closed for renovations. Globalist and used a SUA for a park suite. The room was large with a separate living room and bedroom and had a view of Mt Fuji when clear. Service was very good and the staff went above and beyond helping me with my proposal. The hotel while dated was impeccably clean and well maintained. The highlight of the stay was using the facilities at the club on the Park every morning, best hotel gym and spa I've been in. Hopefully they can update the hotel without changing too much. I really appreciate everything the hotel did helping with my engagement.

Had been dreaming to stay a night here and had the chance as we celebrated my friends birthday. The staff were welcoming, warm and so helpful. The room was grand and comfortable and smelled like a dream. We had the opportunity to use a suite upgrade certificate and so glad we did. We were placed in the Park Suite King. Aesop amenities for the bathroom. Stocked bar and snacks (for a charge of course) but added to the atmosphere. The hotel is starting revocations and excited to return to see the hotel reborn. Also had dinner at New York Grill with amazing views and food.

I had an amazing stay at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff at the concierge. They were not only professional but also extremely helpful, answering my question and sending my luggage go my room. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Best of all, my west-facing room let me catch stunning sunsets each evening—such a lovely little luxury that made the space feel extra special. The hotel's breakfast spread was outstanding. The restaurant is located at 38/F with a nice view. There was a wide variety of options, from fresh fruits and pastries to hot dishes like eggs and bacon. The coffee was also excellent, a great way to start the day. The location of the hotel is perfect. It's close to many restaurants, shops, and public transportation. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town!

Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo was absolutely unreal. From the moment we arrived, every detail was perfectly thought out. A heartfelt thank you to Valentina and Chikana Kigami, who both went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail truly stood out and made us feel so welcome. The hotel is incredibly lucky to have them on the team! We can’t wait to come back, it was truly a five-star experience in every way.

My friends and I enjoyed afternoon tea service here on Halloween and it was an absolutely luxurious and magical experience. I've been to many afternoon tea services around the world and this one was easily the best I've ever been to. The ambiance was beautiful, the staff was incredibly polite and attentive, and the tea offerings were delicious and varied. The Halloween theming on the pastries was particularly adorable!! What blew me away most of all, however, was how thoroughly the staff attended to my specific dietary restrictions. I was contacted well in advance, my exact restrictions were noted and clarified, and a completely alternative tower was custom made for me. Completely unrelated to the tea service, I had to make an unexpected health-related request, which was immediately and thoroughly accommodated with the utmost respect and kindness. I truly was not expecting this degree of service, especially as I was not a guest of the hotel, and I was so touched! I highly recommend the afternoon tea service and I hope to stay in this lovely establishment the next time I visit Tokyo :)

Great cocktails and mocktails. Staff of the hotel are just so lovely and everyone we talked to or interacted with was friendly. Overall the best experience of our holiday!
Danielle P — Google review
Ahh I really wanted to like this hotel, I would give it a 3.5/5 if possible tbf. Stayed here for 7 nights. Biggest callout was definitely the service which was hit or miss. For example the french (?) gentleman who usually answered our room service calls is amazing! You'd think he owned the restaurant with how attentive and charming he was. But other staff could seem disinterested, and average, not what you'd expect from a MO in asia which are known for high class service. Random example: the woman who sat us at breakfast one morning forced my gf to go change her shoes (out of the hotel provided slippers) due to "safety" despite other guests wearing the same slippers at the buffett. Room was decent, okay size but for the tier of hotel and the price it was just average. Dated finishes, a single sink and inefficient use of space compared to somewhere of similar price like The Peninsula. Great views from the 36th floor really was the saving grace for an average room. The special Halloween themed high tea was great, which actually let us leave on a high note. Idk.. the place was nice but if we didn't get a big discount due to their 20 yr anniversary our room would've been over $1500 a night which to me is crazy. For similar price I'd 100% say stay at The Peninsula, or try one of the Four Seasons properties.
Nick B — Google review
Don’t get me wrong, this is a wonderful hotel and definitely worth the price…especially if you value staying in your room and appreciate well-trained, attentive staff. However, a major drawback for me was the time limit to access the spa and gym. At this price point, I don’t think it makes sense to restrict guests to just a few hours of use. Part of what justifies paying for a luxury hotel is the ability to enjoy the facilities freely throughout the stay, without having to treat them like scheduled appointments. When you’re paying a premium, the experience should feel seamless, not monitored or rationed.
João C — Google review
From the moment we arrived we had a 5 star experience. We booked the MO on our way out of Japan after two weeks of touring around the country for our 15 year wedding anniversary. This was our final treat on a wonderful trip. Right when we checked in we were escorted to our room, shortly after were brought a tray of fresh fruit that felt so personal and thoughtful. That evening we had a couples massage with full use of the spa beforehand. The spa was gorgeous with views that no words could do justice. The massages were phenomenal with the utmost attention to the details provided and care to make sure we were comfortable and felt relaxed. This was one of the best spa experiences we’ve have ever had. Once our spa treatment was over we didn’t have anything planned for dinner as we had been traveling all day, however, the spa called down to one of the restaurants to get us a last minute reservation to Senses (which was delicious). We had such a relaxing evening and slept lake a baby in such comfortable beds. The following day we had afternoon tea in the lounge that I had previously booked. The front desk held our bags while we enjoyed tea, as we were headed to the airport shortly after. Afternoon tea was a whole experience, with a wonderful presentation. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and helpful in every way. None other compares. Wonderful experience.

The most beautiful hotel with top views in Tokyo, when I first arrived, I really liked their lobby, it was clean, fragrant, and magnificent. Their rooms are also big and I got a very clean room and the bathroom was magnificent. It feels like it's not enough if I only stay here for 3 days 🥹....the food in their restaurant has no failed products, everything is delicious until I'm addicted. They deserve to be called a 5-star and luxurious hotel in Tokyo.

Napule is an Italian restaurant located in the Minami-Aoyama district of Tokyo, Japan. The main restaurant offers authentic southern Italian cuisine and is highly acclaimed by Italians living in Japan for its taste reminiscent of their hometown. The cozy ambiance and unique window ceiling create an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of alfresco dining. The decor exudes rustic, countryside-style, family-run restaurant vibes.
Such a cute place in the middle of the hustle. They have a seasonal menu and the ingredients are very fresh. Antipasti are cool if you want to try different things and also perfect for sharing The pizza was well cooked and just right 🍕
Lisa E — Google review
Booking a table at this Napule is highly recommended, as it tends to get busy. The pizza was decent, though on our visit, moist in the center. Our favourite dish was the radicchio salad, that had super fresh ingredients and offered a bitter contrast to the cheesy pizza. The fritto misto/tempura vegetables were also delicious 🤤

As an Italian I would say Ok pizza, but i had better ones for a similar price. The ham on the capricciosa looked rather cheap. The prosciutto e melone was good, but only one slice of melon for a lot prosciutto. Service was quick.

At Napule, my wife and I indulged in an authentic Italian dining experience. We savored the classic Caprese salad, bursting with fresh flavors, followed by a specialty pizza straight from their wood-fired oven. Each bite was a delightful blend of charred crust and savory toppings, reminiscent of Naples' trattorias. The aroma alone transported us to the heart of Italy. Accompanying our meal was a perfectly cooked pasta dish, enhancing our culinary journey. The ambiance exuded warmth and hospitality, akin to a cozy Italian eatery. Napule truly captures the essence of slow food culture, offering a taste of Italy in every dish.

Napule in Aoyama is a fixed point in the italian food scenery of Tokyo. Rarely disappointing, most of time you get satisfied by quality of food. Price is on the expensive side but remember you are right near omotesando crossing, one of most expensive land area of Japan. Pizza is really good, pity they doesn't use organic flour, I would give them 5 stars. Menu is excellent, same like you would find in a typical restaurant in Napoli, my city. Service is not bad but not excellent, depends by the staff of day. However no complain.

Two Dogs Taproom, located in Roppongi, offers a laid-back atmosphere and English-speaking staff that will make you feel like you've been transported to Northern California. The bar features an impressive selection of craft beers from around the world, including favorites like Lagunitas IPA and Goose Island 312, as well as local brews such as Pharoah Smoke Porter and Hitachino Nest White Ale.
Easy to find in the pleasant neighbourhood of Roppongi. Good split level set-up with quite a decent range of craft beers and other assorted goodies.

You have to take stairs to get to the entrance (2F.) Not sure if they have an elevator. There is also an upstairs area accessible by a spiral staircase. Bathroom is a step up, so not barrier-free. There is a great selection of craft beers, and the price is similar (if not slightly lower) than other craft beer bars in Tokyo. They have a page of Japan beers and a page of (mainly) USA beers. The beers are available in Small (200 ml), Medium (360 ml), or Large (US PINT). The Large is about ¥1,300 for the Japanese ones and ¥1400 for the US ones. The food menu is mostly customizable pizzas, various bar starters, and a handful of mani dishes. It’s probably best to just get some pizzas and appetizers to share as a group. On a weeknight, the vibe was pretty casual and laidback, not rowdy. Service was okay. Friendliness depended on the worker. Overall seems like a good place to get your night started on the weekend.

Looking for a pizza/craft beer place in Roppongi? Looks around no more as the pizzas here are wonderful 😊! It is not too easy to get in as this place is busy, but you won't regret your stay. Might be a bit expensive for a normal nomikai with heavy drinkers, but otherwise, you will end up with a normal price for high quality food and drink ^^

I heard the owner of this taproom came from Seattle but I couldn't find any Taps of Seattle. :-) Overall line up of beer is pretty good means very balanced, and dishes are matched with beers as well. One thing I'm not comfortable is smoking is permitted.

NIHONBASHI BREWERY offers a laid-back and inviting setting where visitors can enjoy a variety of beers and food options. The brewery features craft beer crafted under the guidance of Trevor Bass from Hopworks Urban Brewery in Portland, alongside Japanese and American craft beers. Guests can pair their drinks with Japanese-Italian pizza for a delightful experience. Additionally, the establishment serves delicious homemade desserts, including a delectable pudding with caramel that perfectly complements the vanilla ice cream.
This place is located in a building of workspaces and apparently it is quite popular among the locals. People come here for their famous pudding. I came for lunch and they were having lunch set promotion. There was free refill or organic tea and salad. I ordered pasta bottarga and mentaiko with butter and it didn’t disappoint. The pasta was flavorful and delicious and its texture was springy and soft to my liking. After I finished my pasta I ordered their famous handmade pudding and it was the best pudding I had ever had. The pudding was showered with caramel sauce, to my surprise it wasn’t overly sweet at all. Topped with the vanilla flavored gelato, the pudding tasted like heaven. It was so soft and delicious that I craved more of it after I finished it. Overall I enjoyed my dining experience here and the food was reasonably priced. Wish I had more stomach for more food. Would love to come back again to try their pizza if I had the chance!

Solid Italian food with good pudding tbh. Pasta was on point. A bit more Al dente than expected. Pizza was very good tho. As good as the one from nyc. Pudding is more Custard than expected. Overall solid. Oh and beer is always good

Mostly a great place. Had great food, although not a huge selection, the beers were good and the atmosphere was okay. The staff were very helpful and gave great service, coming at the right times and not being too pushy. Someone spilled their entire drink on the table, and the staff dealt with it very well. The beers were definitely good. Really enjoyed them. I think being able to try more at the same time would be great. In Australia, you can try what are called ‘paddles’, where you get a selection of a number of beers from the brewery to try. That would be an awesome addition to the menu. Overall it was a good experience.

Original come here for the big size pudding but it needs to reserve so we order the regular pudding and surprise that it is so good that we order again. If you like a little alcohol sweet drink: strawberry sour is a good option. Pizza is good too.

The pudding was amazing. Visited shortly without a reservation after lunch on Friday (15 Dec, 2023) The store has a requirement for each guest to buy a drink if you're just having desserts. The homemade pudding was ¥720. The caramel was slightly bitter which goes really well with the vanilla ice cream. The pudding itself was smooth and dense with a wonderful eggy aroma. We shared 1 pudding amongst 2 people and it was very filling. They also have a giant version available, but I didn't see it on the menu.
Jeffrey I — Google review
Exceptionally mediocre food with small portions for fairly high prices - way below average quality and value for Tokyo. Avoid. Pizza was particularly sad. Doughy, undercooked, looked nothing like the menu. Pepperoni pizza came out with barely even a piece of pepperoni per slice and basically uncooked onions. Crust had zero rise and zero crisp. Very likely the worst pizza I've had in Tokyo. Calamari similarly tiny portion. Was hard to even identify the calamari in the batter. Ajillo desperately needed salt and came with 4-5 tiny shrimp. Cesar salad was good but the large portion was hardly large. Edit: the pudding is excellent.

We were told we could only stay for one hour, without any explanation. Later, we found out by ourselves that the café actually closes at a certain time and then reopens, but this was never communicated to us. The lack of clear information was frustrating — maybe there’s also a reasonable explanation for the outlet policy, but we weren’t given that either. The homemade pudding was actually very good, but overall our experience was soured by these issues. The orange juice, on the other hand, I definitely wouldn’t recommend.

The pudding tastes like the ones from supermarkets - nothing special. Was not told about the per person table charge and was seated at the bar table. The only indication is in Japanese on the Japanese menu only. Do not come here

Alter Ego is a trendy restaurant located in Jimbocho, offering high-concept Italian cuisine with a Japanese twist. The open counter kitchen allows diners to witness the innovative preparation of dishes featuring seasonal Japanese ingredients. Initially offering omakase-style dinners, the restaurant has adapted to also offer casual à la carte options and wine. A must-try dish is their signature tajarin, a traditional thin pasta from Piedmont.
Amazing dining experience and would for sure come back. Made booking via TableCheck for 8pm but the restaurant was able to accommodate our early arrival. First floor is all counter-seat and we sat in a private room on the second floor. We did a la carte for food and wine pairing (¥14,000 per person) for six glass of wines. It was well worth it and would highly recommend. Wines are mainly from Italy. Loved the wine pairing for Prosciutto and Pear & Mozzarella. Essentially, every dish is nicely done with something to remember.

We had the course meal 15,000¥ pp and the food and service was amazing (not all pictures are featured below). We sat at the counter so the chefs were right in front of us however we did not get a view of the actual cooking. For the wagyu they let us choose our knife which was a lovely touch. They also had 5 options for dessert. It was a shame that they ran out of beer however it was an enjoyable night.

I have been there a few years ago and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. This time, I came with a total group of four people, but the experience was a huge letdown. The staff had a hard time with English, which caused some serious mix-ups with our order. We got four appetizers, one pasta, and one main dish, thinking the appetizers were portioned for two people each, and the pasta and main were for one. At the end of our order, the waiter asked if we wanted to add more dishes, saying it might not be enough. We didn’t, and I’m glad we held off. Each appetizer came out on separate plates for every person. By the fourth one, i realized the portions were way too big. Turns out, they have doubled the portion of each appetizer. This was frustrating since we would’ve preferred smaller portions to try more dishes. Because of this, we were too full to order another main like we’d planned. The worst part was the final appetizer. The English menu listed it as “mushroom wrapped in omelettes,” so we expected something with eggs. Instead, it was just mushrooms. When we asked, the waiter said it was a menu typo. They didn’t offer any apology or try to make up for this mistake—it felt like they didn’t care. Not sure we’ll be back.

FANTASTIC! The Wagyu without a doubt was the best I have ever tasted and the desert. The white wine matched perfectly.

One of the best Italian places in Tokyo, especially when you want to enjoy Italian wine and liquor. Very knowledgeable and friendly sommelier who can serve you your desired wine. Food is above average. Definitely recommended.

Delish meal with soup pairing. Friendly staff and nice ambience. Meal isn’t too long, just the right pace. Most of the dishes I enjoyed. I was not a huge fan of the bonet but this is prob just personal preference.

Great meal. Easily a top highlight of Italian cuisine. Must visit. Great wine list pricing also
Stefano D — Google review
Pretty overpriced overall. The onion soup with mushrooms was superb, as was the prosciutto. I also liked the small polenta cubes they served as a snack (I wonder why they aren’t in the menu). But the piadina and the pasta were just OK: they were well done, but lacked punch and flavor

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Aoyama district of Tokyo, La Coccola is a delightful fusion restaurant that artfully blends Italian and Japanese culinary traditions. This hidden gem, located on the second floor, boasts a cozy wooden interior that exudes warmth and charm. Known for its creative dishes made from fresh vegetables, seafood, and meat sourced through exclusive connections, La Coccola is an ideal spot for dinner parties or intimate gatherings.
We rarely repeat restaurants in Tokyo but we keep coming back to this one. The food is just simply amazing and significantly better than any Michelin rated restaurant I’ve been to in Tokyo. Service is also great and the owners remember when you came last time so they can alter the menu based on your preferences. Price is super reasonable for the amount of delicious food you get.

5 stars for the reasonable price, great service, and good food. Was in the area and stopped by for dinner for 3. We had the pork/eggplant balsamic salad, wagyu cheek stew, and two types of pasta (gorgonzola and vongole). The salad was wonderfully warm and bright - pork was crisp and eggplant beautifully roasted. The wagyu cheek was an absolute winner - with melt in your mouth tenderness that went well with the potatoes. They were kind enough to slightly increase the portions of the wagyu because there were 3 of us, which I thought was an amazing show of hospitality. Pasta was al dente and warm. it’s a fairly small interior with only two staff (including the chef!!!) but service was warm and personable. I’m not in the Gaienmae area often but will definitely keep them in mind!

On March 06, my partner and I enjoyed dining at La Coccola, and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The service was fantastic, provided by the owner, who was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening. The chef, also the owner, prepared each dish with care and expertise, resulting in some of the most delicious food I have ever had. The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and charming, the perfect atmosphere for a memorable dining experience. Overall, La Coccola is an experience to remember. It's clear that the owners take great pride in their restaurant, and their passion is evident in every aspect of the dining experience. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. It truly exceeded all of my expectations.

There was an "open" sign so we walked up the stairs and a lady curtly told us "Looks like we're not seating anymore" and briskly walked away. There was still 40 minutes til close and she could've been nicer about it. Especially in Japan it's surprising because it's customary to be at least somewhat polite 😀

I've gone here a couple times, and each time I thought the food was great and quite authentic. Especially liked the carbonara, but in general everything is high quality and reasonably priced.

(Translated by Google) This restaurant is really amazing and delicious. The portions are also very large. The appetizers have always been delicious. The sea urchin pasta as the main course is super delicious. The all-you-can-drink wine is also very solid. I became tipsy in no time. I really like this restaurant. It is super delicious.
