Ramen restaurant
Noodle shop
Ippudo NY, located in the East Village of New York City, is a popular Japanese eatery known for its delicious ramen dishes and pork buns. Despite being always packed, the rich and complex soup broths along with perfectly cooked noodles make it worth the wait. The specialty here is tonkotsu ramen, featuring silky pork bone broth with tender braised pork, mushrooms, scallions, and bamboo shoots.
I am a big fan of Ramen and even this was beyond my expectations. I had the best gyoza I can remember, and the Yuzu Shoyu had an amazingly flavorful broth. The atmosphere was excellent and the service was very good. I would return again, and recommend it to anyone for a love of Japanese food.

Absolutely loved the food! It was amazing all of it. We got some of bao buns i had the port and the veggie one and both was absolutely amazing! I have to highlight the veggie bao bun because it was a light crunch with the soft bun that was flavorflu and delicious that i honestly would go back to NY jusf for this bun. Sushi was delicious and so was the ramen and the peppers we got for an appetizer! Everything we ate was incredible. The atmosphere was a really incredible vibe and you got to watch them make the ramen too! Definitely would go back.
Shannon — Google review
not bad, but not as impressive as I expected. The ramen had good flavor, but the broth felt a bit lighter than the original in Japan. The noodles were nice, though the portion felt small for the price. Service was friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but overall, it didn’t quite capture that “wow” factor. Still, it’s a decent spot if you’re craving ramen in the city.
Elizabeth W — Google review
Top notch service and atmosphere. Had the karage, spicy gyoza and dragon tantan ramen. Wasn’t blown away by anything, but the ingredients were high quality and presentation was good. Would order a different bowl or ramen on my next visit.

What can I tell you…. One of my fav ramen places. Took my kids out for a meal… had a GREAT time. I got a special ramen that came in extra large. Apparently I was one of 2 ppl to order extra large in the past 2 - 3 months lol… I had no idea how big it was. It was frigggin enormous. I could not finish even with the help of my 16 yr old. Had to pack for home. But good lord was it tasty. The food was on point with broth rich with flavor and melty meats. Garlic toppings, spicy flakes and extra sauces galore. This meal was everything my boys and I needed at the end of a great day in the city.
David H — Google review
Always love going to Ippudo! This was my first time going to this location and the vibes were great. Never a long wait and service was awesome. Tried the miso ramen this time and it was creamy and delicious- pork super soft and toppings added great flavor. The lychee soda 🤩 probably one of the best sodas ever
Chelsea P — Google review
I came here this past Saturday and was disappointed. my husband and I have been here many times we and we think the chef changed as the food was different and tasted different. Ordered the karaage chicken and it used to come with a side dipping sauce and it came plain this time. we ordered the karaka spicy ramen and the pork has changed as it was basically a slice of pork and not their past thick, charred pork. we didn’t enjoy it. it was way too dark in there as well.
Jennifer T — Google review
When walking into Ipudo I was greeted by the staff and with no wait was brung to my own table with a small cube having QR codes on all the sides. (I went to IPPUDO when it was happy hour) My order: Pork bun ($10) - the bun is really soft, the pork melted in my mouth, the lettuce has a nice crunch. The pork bun is a must try if you eat here!! SHIROMARU MOTOAJI ($20) - the noodles are good, broth tastes normal, the Bamboo shoots are a little bit tough but edible, and the chashu tasted like ham. If you really want a pork bun or want a cozy and relaxing place to hangout either with friends or by yourself, Ipudo is a good restaurant to be at. Preferably at happy hour if you want great food at a good price.

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Nakamura is a cozy ramen spot in the Lower East Side, Manhattan, known for its top Japanese chef Shigetoshi Nakamura. The restaurant offers a variety of ramen bowls, including the popular Torigara with Jidori chicken broth and customizable noodles. Despite its small size, Nakamura is home to a huge talent and has garnered praise from both Japanese and American eaters.
This place is legit!!! Hands down one of the best ramen bowls I’ve ever had. I ordered the XO Miso (highly recommend adding an egg), and my husband had the Pork Ramen. Both broths were absolutely packed with flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy and delicious. The food was incredible, but the service was just as memorable. We arrived late, around 9:30pm, and were warmly welcomed without any sense of being rushed. 10/10 recommend!!
Marina N — Google review
This is a really small place with only few tables and a small bar. We tried two kind of Ramen - classic pork broth which was rich and savory. And chicken broth with spinach and a perfectly cooked egg, this was also great, far more light than the pork broth and had thin noodles. We started with a chicken gyoza which was nice. The staff was super nice but you make the order through an app. The place could be cleaner, tables needed a decent amount of soap, not to mention the floor.
Danit T — Google review
I had to see if Ramen Nakamura lived up to its #3 ranking on Timeout's best ramen list. This hidden gem on the Lower East Side is a small, intimate spot perfect for a quick, fantastic meal. The appetizers were a highlight, especially the yummy Yuzu Wings-which was my favorite. Also enjoyed the shishito peppers, the geso calamari had a nice chew. My parents enjoyed the corn ribs and gyoza. For ramen, our table tried the rich and creamy Tontoro Pork, the light and clean Jidori Chicken and the Tokyo Tsukemen with pork and flavorful fish dipping sauce. I've just returned from Japan and this is pretty authentic ramen. A special shout-out to our server, Carlos, who was attentive and made the experience even better. And a fun fact we learned: Chef Nakamura is one of the "Ramen Gods," a title earned from competing on a Japanese TV show called Ramen King, the ramen version of Iron Chef.
Yin L — Google review
We loved Jidori Chicken (thick noodles) and Torigara Chicken (thinner noodles) ramens - flavorful and light. Also recommend the Edamame pesto as an appetizer!
Mayumi T — Google review
Super yummy, drinks, and food! The fries tasted great and the ramen!
Lia — Google review
Nakamura reminds me of the small places with good ramen in Tokyo and Kyoto. Small wooden tables, a tiny bar, excellent ramen and a clean and shiny place that makes you want to keep sitting there and watching the small kitchen making the magic of delicious ramen. We had the pork ramen and the chicken curry ramen. Both broth and noodles were savory , rich and delicious we both added chili 🌶️ oil cause we like it spicy 🌶️, we added cooked egg which was perfect and the experience was excellent with a very friendly and welcoming staff. It is like a small ramen bar somewhere in the back of a small neighborhood in Tokyo.
Amos N — Google review
Awesome food and portions. The Yuzu Wings were super delicious. We got the ton toro pork ramen (generously add chilli oil, it will be even tastier) and the pulled chashu mazemen. You can also order from the menu of the sister restaurant next door, Niche, which focuses on mazemen. The Yuzu Line Soda was refreshing and just the right amount of both sweetness and carbonation. We will definitely be back. We read a recent article on Time Out New York naming this as the top ramen spot in the city and had to try it out for ourselves. We were lucky to get a same evening reservation and that they could sit us within five minutes on a Saturday night after we were delayed nearly half an hour by the subway (shoutout to the MTA!!!). Super nice staff and it was easy to order via phone/app system. Service was a bit slow but likely because they were busy and nothing that would knock off a star.
Milena G — Google review
One of the best ramen I ever had! So delicious! The gyozas were so delicious too. Great service, really friendly staff too. Everything is homemade by them and you can tell why it is the best in NYC and ppl come from all over the place to try it! It’s a small but very comfy and with great vibe. I’m so glad we went there!

Ramen restaurant

Tonchin New York is a branch of a Tokyo-based chain that offers tonkotsu ramen, griddled dishes, and fried chicken. This izakaya-inspired eatery has been around for four years and originally opened in Japan almost three decades ago. The menu features a blend of Japanese and U.S. flavors, with the classic Tokyo tonkotsu ramen being the standout dish.
Walked in on a Friday night, had a 25 min wait. The edamame was a taste of Asian and Western fusion, I was a little surprised at first but it was delicious. The salad, I really LOVED their homemade dressing (as someone who hates salad dressing). The curry chicken wings were nice, really juicy but a little bit too salty. The matcha lemonade was great, not overly sweet like other places, and the waiter pours the matcha on top in front of me. To be honest, I enjoyed everything else more than the ramen, ironic cuz it’s a ramen place). The ramen is not bad, but just mediocre, so it didn’t really stand out from the others. The place is pretty popular so it was pretty packed and noisy, a little hard to hear people talk.
Ka N — Google review
Tonchin delivered a fantastic ramen experience. The dipping noodles were generous in portion and the broth was rich, authentic, and full of flavor. Service was excellent — friendly, accommodating, and unlike many other NYC spots, we never felt rushed. It made for a really comfortable dining experience. Definitely worth booking in advance if you want to secure a spot. Highly recommend dining here when in New York.
Nick L — Google review
Busy, but worth the wait. Walk-in, had to wait for maybe 10 minutes by the bar. Waiting was made easy by super friendly bartender. Signature ramen was absolutely worth it , plus the cucumber salad and gyoza. Deep but not heavy , thin slices of pork , lovely texture of noodles, and super smiling staff. All the best to Tonchin crew from Norway!
Alexander L — Google review
Stumbled upon this place and it does remind me a little bit of Tokyo! The TSUKUNE bao was very flavorful. Even though the ramen were about $21-$22 it was still good. The thing that surprised me was how tender the roasted chasu pork was. You can tell the restaurant stayed busy but even as a walk in, the wait was 15-20 min. I would say 8.5 out of 10
Aslee V — Google review
Tonchin absolutely delivers one of the best ramen experiences in the city! From the moment the bowls arrive, you can tell each one is crafted with care -- rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh, vibrant toppings that bring everything together beautifully. Every bite is balanced, comforting, and deeply satisfying without feeling heavy.
Aphirak B — Google review
Amazing Japanese ramen spot! Super humble yet definitely not low-key — it has received Michelin recommendations for 5 years in a row. We went for lunch during our visit to New York, and the value was incredible. For just $27, you get a starter and a main, including their classic tonkotsu ramen. Hearty soup and super generous portion of noodle which can be rare for ramen places. There are also other great options (some with a small extra cost). Highly recommend trying the Tsukemen as well — perfectly chewy noodles (served hot or cold) paired with a rich, concentrated dipping broth. Absolutely delicious! The restaurant is located right in the heart of Midtown, making it very easy to walk to from nearby tourist attractions. If you’re in town, don’t miss this place! We did walk-in on a weekday 10min after opening time. The restaurant can get busier so reservations are highly recommended for popular times (I.e weekends).
Yi Y — Google review
TLDR: decent ramen that was unfortunately just too oily 3.5 stars I like a good tonkotsu ramen but this ramen was just too oily. I usually like drinking the soup but the initial spoonful of soup coated my mouth with a thin layer of oil. The rest of the ramen was good but being unable to enjoy the broth on its own really hampered the experience.
Wilson T — Google review
I came here two times for lunch and for dinner. The ramen was tasty. It’s a nice place, but there is a small problem with the air after eating, our clothes smelled a lot like food. Everything was good, the waiters were kind and smiled. They also helped us choose some good sake. But the administrator was not nice. She talked to us in a rude and unfriendly way.

Nestled in the vibrant Lower East Side of New York City, Mr. Taka Ramen is a delightful gem that has been captivating ramen enthusiasts for years. This cozy and minimalist eatery, founded by two talented Japanese chefs, offers an impressive array of ramen options alongside traditional Japanese appetizers, sake, and beer.
Stopped by for lunch with my daughter. Zero regrets for going in there, folks. Staff was so friendly, but the ramen is seriously some of the best we’ve ever tried (and we hit plenty of ramen places). I got the vegan bowl, the grilled zucchini and tomato inside were perfection, but the broth was my favorite. Portions are really big! Try the cucumbers, too, they were a great appetizer. Seriously, go find this gem and check it out.

Chanced upon this ramen joint when looking for dinner in the neighbourhood after arriving in the city. Great vibes, nice and efficient service. The tonkostu ramen was very good, and the noodles on point. Great meal and experience!
The A — Google review
Really good ginger shoyu Ramen. Noodles were a great chewy bouncy texture plus there was a generous amount of noodles. Lots of veg, clear grease free broth with a developed flavour. My new go to ramen spot. Pork belly is excellent.... I usually stay away from pork belly as it often is improperly cooked when you go out but this place was 100% correct!!
Jade — Google review
Tiny ramen spot with most of your standard options and then some. Got the spicy tonkotsu noodles which had a good kick. Gyoza was plump but didn’t strike me as especially interesting. Space is tight and the blaring red light can be a bit strong. Service seems distracted as well.
Rovik R — Google review
Broth was tasty and the noodles were on point. Spicy miso and thonkatsu ramen tasted really fresh and flavorful. Pork chasu rice was my favorite 🤤. Sound ambience and friendly staff member🤗

Japanese restaurant
Minca is a small Japanese ramen spot located in the East Village of New York City. Unlike other noodle bars, Minca focuses on simplicity, offering 15 straightforward items without the option to mix and match meat and broth. The cozy joint has gained a loyal following over its 17 years for its signature pork and chicken bone broth, customizable flavorings, and various noodle options.
Hands down our favorite ramen place in NYC. We have been going to Minca for years and the flavor, quality and service are always superb. We have tried a lot of the most famous ramen spots and always come back to Minca. Highly recommend!
Alejandra S — Google review
This place was just okay. My friend and I came here for the ramen and it wasn't bad, except my noodles were overdone and too soft. The broth had some thickness to it, which was actually nice because at other places, the broth is usually watery. And this ramen was hearty and perfect for a cold winter day (I had the miso and my friend had the spicy miso). We also had the spicy kimchi and some type of green salad (I forgot the name, I think it was seaweed lol). I can't really comment on those because I didn't care for the flavor profile of them. Otherwise the service was friendly, but the whole atmosphere felt dirty with flies everywhere and no air conditioning. I dined-in, but I think it would have been better to order out instead.
C I — Google review
The ramen here is the definition of a solid bowl of ramen. It’s not glamorous, nor does it need to be. This is where you should go if you’re craving ramen or if it’s a cold rainy/snowy day outside. I do wish they used ajitsuke or even regular soft-boiled eggs instead of hard-boiled ones.
Dhruv P — Google review
Fresh off 1 hour on the treadmill at 10.5 incline and 3.3 speed to sweat out the sins of the night prior, I found myself craving ramen. I wiped the sweat from my dark brown eyes that are slightly too big for my face and remembered how someone commented on a TikTok I made about Momofuku, saying Minca was the better ramen choice in EV. I showered off, tucked my adidas sweats into my Nike socks, slipped on the all-black hokas and set off on the 0.4-mile journey. I missed it on my initial walk by as it is extremely ducked-off. Lowkey as the kids would say. With about 14 seats, an open kitchen based on necessity and the workers all speaking Japanese amongst themselves, Minca is about as authentic as a ramen place can get. It brought me straight back to wandering down a random street in Shibuya, seeing impeccably dressed Japanese residents enjoying their bowl of ramen at the tiny little ramen restaurant scrolling their WhatsApp. I ordered the seaweed salad and the Spicy Miso Ramen. I always say that you can tell how good a Japanese restaurant is by how good their seaweed salad is. Okay I’ve never said that but this seaweed salad was really damn good. The ramen broth was flavor blasted without being too salty or too heavy, and the noodles had the perfect texture that would leave a smile on even Ivan Orkin’s face. Honestly, it was a big mf bowl too and I think two normal humans could split this and still walk away content. I, however, happen to be a big dawg. My #1 ranked ramen in EV as of now. Also, I love the name of this place. MincaMinca! Sounds like a cute pokemon hahahahaahaha.

Say it isn’t so? MINCA HAS CLOSED TOO? This is tragedy. It was the tastiest ramen I’ve ever had in the world. Kambi is dead, long live Minca! I was heartbroken to learn Kambi on 14 and 1st was closed last month but that it’s sister restaurant is open. And you’ll be well satisfied. Is a bit Tinier than kambi in space but still the most delicious ramen I have ever tried in the world. Will be my regular go to from now on. Love you guys.

Good ramen at a cash-only establishment in East Village. Definitely satisfies the ramen craving but was a little disappointed after reading several reviews saying it’s the best ramen in Manhattan. Yummy but felt it needed more umami. The meat was tender. I loved the hole in the wall vibe it has
Camille J — Google review
i ordered their tonkotsu ramen (pork bone broth). overall the dish was pretty authentic and tasty to eat. the broth was rich and filling, although i typically prefer slightly more “pork flavor” in the broth. the noodles they used were thick and had a good texture (i prefer it slightly more al dente/harder than how they cook it). the chashu was very savory and tasty though slightly on the drier side. all in all i’d still highly recommend swinging by and giving them a try if you’re nearby!
Flo E — Google review
Great ramen. The broth, the noodles, and the tender pork belly. Of the places I've been to, their menu is the most reasonable (for Manhattan) and also the most delicious. The broth's consistency was heavy enough to stick well with the noodles. The flavor was tasty and not too overwhelming. I drank the soup all the way through. The pork belly was tender and melted in your mouth. It wasn't all fat either. The shrimp gyoza are also amazing. They are not gimmicky; they don't shout greetings in broken Japanese as you enter the door (to give you that authentic vibe). They are authentic and they show it through their ramen. They are also very hospitable and generous. They didn't charge me for swapping out an ingredient. A lot of places I've been to tend to charge you or completely deny you for swapping a simple ingredient for another one. In fact, all I asked was to NOT have scallions in my order, and instead the waitress simply offered a generous substitute. How about that? It's amazing how subtle yet powerful a gesture like that is when it comes to food service. I still would have enjoyed this place for the ramen alone. It makes for a fun, casual date spot. I would also have no problem coming here completely solo. After all, I just want good ramen and service. I'll return!

Nestled in the vibrant Prospect Heights neighborhood, Chuko is a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This trendy eatery has been delighting patrons since its inception in 2011 as an offshoot of Manhattan's renowned Morimoto. Despite its cozy size, there's often a line outside, drawn by the irresistible flavors of their signature noodle bowls. The menu may be compact, but it features a delightful array of broths and toppings that cater to both meat lovers and vegetarians.
Pricey but worth it. It's hard to not kick yourself after spending $25 on a bowl of ramen, but I'm not mad. The noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy, the broth was delicious, and it was a perfect spicy bowl of comfort on a cold day. My friend got a pork bun and said it was delicious as well. We shared a bottle of sake, which completed the entire experience. We went for dinner on a Monday night and were sat immediately. I advise arriving before 7pm if you have more than 2 people and don't want to wait.

I used to love this place. I came back after a few years away and was sad to see the price go up and no longer include almost all the toppings, egg and protein. If you order a ramen with no add ons, it will look sad with cabbage?! And maybe nori? Idk super disappointed. Also the server was wearing maybe half the bottle of cologne and that messed with my smell and taste. I ordered the kimchi ramen and the topping included cabbage lol - kimchi is already cabbage?? By the time I added all the things that used to come with the ramen it was $32 for a bowl that used to be $16-$18. shrinkflation is annoying and lost a customer since 2011. I used to tell everyone I met that this was the best ramen. Weird how people get used to things like this and don’t realize there’s better and cheaper elsewhere in the city!

This place is amazing. I remember them located across the street or it might be something else. The space is big and opens late. The food is delicious especially the chicken wings. Food is good. Too bad we ate beforehand but we end up order for half of the table and the ramen is amazing. Great flavor and well made. Service is great. Food came pretty quickly and we appreciate they are understanding that some of us ate beforehand.

The place delivers taste without high costs. You won't encounter similar cuisine at nearby places. The entire staff remembers returning customers. The menu here avoids unnecessary complexity. Although I don't give praise easily, this place earns it.

They charge your credit card With a predetermined tip Before serving your food. Waitress was good but the older manager lady actually told me to change seats before I was finished eating. She was very rude about it too, trying to seat a family of 4 that was coming in. She kept pointing at another seat without apologizing. The food was sub par. Not good. I suggest you go somewhere else. Part of the menu was not available.

Pretty good Ramen place with limited but yet very tasty selection. The place doesn't take reservations and operates on a first come - first serve basis . So get ready to stay in line. My personal recommendations are Brussel sprouts and Miso Ramen. The sesame is good, too.

With locations in Midtown West and Hells Kitchen, this beloved destination for ramen enthusiasts provides a cozy ambiance and authentic flavors. Whether enjoying their signature ramen varieties or seasonal specials, Totto Ramen offers a comforting celebration of traditional Japanese noodle craftsmanship.
Quick service and good food. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly. We ordered three different types of ramen: the totto ramen with chicken, the spicy mega ramen with pork, and spicy miso ramen with pork. I going to give this place four stars until I tried the spicy mega ramen. It is so good!! Rich, garlicky, savory… definitely one of the tastiest ramens I’ve had in NY. My brother liked the ramen here better than the one he had in Japan. He liked the totto ramen the best for its clean savory chicken base soup.

Tried out the summer special tsukemen at @totto_ramen and the broth is very thick and has a slight citrusy flavor to make it more refreshing. Noodles are pretty bouncy and chewy. Overall good but not the best I’ve had in NYC. It would be a lot better if the broth can come out hotter.

A classic ramen institution in Midtown East, Totto Ramen never disappoints. 🍜 I recommend trying their original signature ramen bowl with a side of pork buns. If you come here for lunch during the work week, try to arrive earlier than usual. It can get busy!

I've been looking for a good ramen place around this area and I think I found one. Mega Paitan is their best seller and I was not disappointed. Service is okay, making sure we have water. The place is nice, they have a bar seat where you can oversee the workers making ramen.

We have been trying a lot of Ramen in the past few months and to be really frank the ramen was pretty ordinary. We went here as we read some good reviews. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Nanban which was good (the only thing I did not like was the sauce was poured over it, I like my sauces on the side) and the Spicy Paitan Ramen (they have Pork and Chicken options). The ramen was nowhere close to other ramen places in the city.

This was an amazing experience! i got their Pork bun and the Spicy Mega Pai-tan bowl. They were so fücking good. The pork bun tasted like heaven. The ramen bowl was to die forrrr. My friend got the Fire bird Paitan(i hope that’s the right name) and she loved it toooo. I tried Japanese soda for the first time and it had a very unique taste. It didn’t taste like any of the popular sodas, it just tasted…different (get it?) 10/10 experience. I will definitely be back <3

I had the classic chicken paitan ramen. It was tasty and decently priced given the size and toppings. The pork char sui was very good. I was disappointed that there wasn’t really any lighter broth options on the paper menu and that the miso was still with the paitan broth. There were many individual diners seated at large tables when they could have eaten at the bar. There is a B health rating as of December 2022. I’d eat it again but will try other places.

Great flavor. I would recommend the spicy mega ramen. The spicy ramen is not very spicy, so dont worry. The pork version is tasty but very salty. The chicken version might be better if you dont like salty foos.

Ichiran is a Japanese ramen chain that offers solo dining booths where customers can enjoy their tonkotsu ramen in privacy. The restaurant allows diners to customize their orders, including flavor strength, noodle tenderness, and fat content. There are also traditional table service options for those who prefer a more social dining experience. In New York City, Ichiran provides the unique experience of enjoying authentic Japanese ramen in individual stations or at regular tables.
The same delicious tonkatsu you’d come to expect from Ichiran. I had the set plus a side of pork and dessert. The extra pork was thicker than the ramen chashu but still very tender. The dessert was delicately creamy. I was by myself and getting sat took about 25 mins on line. I’ve certainly waited longer in Tokyo (especially in the early hours when the boozing crowd looks for food). Unlike the BK (or Japanese locations), most people on line had to be taught the ordering/seating process… not a big deal but certainly slowed things down. Still awesome ramen at a convenient location.
JB J — Google review
The ramen is perfectly fine and the added value of private single seat booth is really nice, it's not as enjoyable as you'd think with friends or family because everyone is sectioned off in their little booths. But for some quiet self time, it's perfect. The staff was friendly, quick and helpful The ramen while fine was just a very basic ramen arrangement. The broth thickness can be adjusted but the flavoring was definitely meant for broader appeal and was found a little on the plainer side of broth offerings. For a Calpico and basic ramen it was about 30+ dollars. While this is a fun little experience, the price point doesn't make this a regular spot. Ramen special/ happy hours would be nice to have.

I had an amazing experience in Ichiran. We waited for a bit for our turn to order and be seated, we were a party or 4 and my friends want to seat together, the staff accommodated us which was really great. Now the food still haunts me to this day. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu, from the broth and the perfectly cooked noodles are so good, everything was so delicious. You can adjust your spice level even after you got your ramen already. The only thing that was off is that if you order boiled eggs you would have to peel yourself, and its kind of a job. Which i do not mind doing but some of my friend think its better if its peeled already. Also the matcha pudding is so delicious, not too heavy for after dinner treat. But overall its a great experience and definitely worth to try! Will definitely come back!!

The Ramen was great but nothing extraordinary for someone who has had ramen before in places like the Bay Area. The long wait (1 hour) was not worth it in my opinion. As far as the food is concerned, it was great and the ramen was flavorful and umami. I ordered spicy level 9 and it was not too hot so I might go with 10 or above next time.

PSA: This is a very unique experience in the US that most won't be familiar with so read on to learn more about it. Food: I got the classic Tonkatsu ramen on medium saltiness, medium spice (2/10), medium noodle cooked level, with green onions, and an egg on the side. They allow you to customize up to 7 different elements of the soup itself, which is already unique in itself and is a testament of its freshness. The noodles were cooked perfectly, they had a nice bounce to them, and the perfect texture. The broth was very clear, smooth, and had a deep savory taste to it that was complimented by a lifting aroma from simmering/being cooked in pork bones. The texture of the broth was not gritty or watery as some places but cooked just right. The broth also appeared very clear and didn't have any impurities as you'd normally see in most chain Ramen restaurants from being overly cooked or overly seasoned. It had a really good balance of seasonings and a surprisingly light body unlike most Tonkatsu's I've had. It's said that only 4 people know the actual recipe for creating the unique flavor of this broth. I would highly recommend trying this out if you're in the area! Service: We were greeted the moment we walked in and asked to customize how we liked our ramen. The waiter was very helpful and polite with the questions I had. The server was also very quick and our order arrived within 2 min of sitting! One additional thing to note, this is a NO TIPPING establishment so that's a huge plus in my books due to the absurd level the food industry has taken it too. Atmosphere: This is where the uniqueness comes into play. Each person is assigned a solo dining booth (if you come in a party, they still put you together), where they are able to focus and enjoy their meal without distractions. When the little food curtain closes, it's just you + ramen, nothing else. Great way to limit distractions and enjoy/appreciate a very tasty bowl of ramen. This was a new experience for me so it took some getting used to but I enjoyed it. Overall, I would 100% come back again. I just wish they would expand and introduce additional meats and broths such as beef or chicken. This would add variety and a bigger incentive to come; otherwise, the ramen was very good!
Matt L — Google review
Such a unique place! You order and pay first, then they guide you to your own seat. You have your private table, and the food is served through a curtain — a really cool experience. The ramen was absolutely delicious, I loved it and would definitely come back!
July J — Google review
Got the Ramen Combo Set + Kaedama. Disclaimer: I’ve visited Ichiran in HK, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Fukuoka. Initial impressions: Egg was too runny, has the typical North American yellow yolk, vs the deep orange that you find in Japan. Tasted under-seasoned. Noodles were consistently overcooked (ordered medium firm). Chashu was pitifully small, and poorly sliced. But in recent years, Ichiran in Japan has also cut back on their Chashu portions due to inflation. Almost everything worked the same, except there is no plumbed water dispenser in your booth, and the checkout machines are Square payments iPads. People also take forever to order, and spend too much time in their stalls, contributing to slow turnover. Is it an authentic Ichiran experience? Kind of. It’s more expensive, the lineup is long, and the food is less good Visiting Ichiran in NYC feels a bit like nostalgia - it was better in my memory.
Stanley A — Google review
As a loyal customer for years, Ichiran remains my gold standard for ramen. It consistently delivers exactly what you hope for. I love it allowing you to fine-tune every element of your ramen, from the texture of the noodles to the richness of the broth. I always opt for normal saltiness, normal oil, with extra garlic, extra scallion, and 2x spicy for that perfect, fiery kick and extra soft noodle (Right in the picture) My husband, on the other hand, prefers no oil, light salt,1/4 spicy and hard noodle. If you appreciate a deeply flavorful broth and the ability to personalize your meal down to the smallest detail, Ichiran is a must-try. The quality never wavers.

HinoMaru Ramen is a cozy and lively ramen bar located in Astoria, offering a variety of regional Japanese ramen styles, sushi, and small plates. The signature dish, HinoMaru ramen, features a rich Hakata-style pork bone broth simmered for 17 hours, complemented with thin noodles, chashu pork, scallion, bean sprouts, nori, wood ear mushrooms, and special fire ball chili sauce.
The food is really good, the service is great. I liked everything I tried. The only thing I would improve would be the space in the back, where large groups can fit. It’s in front of the bar, but there are also some things of storage and it made a little bit of visual noise, however, it is not bad, maybe it’s because I pay a lot of attention to the spaces and decoration.

OMG so happy to have stopped by and shame on me for waiting so damn long. This is definitely one of the best Ramen joint in NY and very reasonably priced. Broth is super flavorful and noodle is perfect firmness. A must on your Ramen bucket list

I got this ramen delivered so can’t comment on the atmosphere, but it was quite good and a pretty reasonable price. I got the spicy miso ramen and it was very flavorful. It was not very spicy unless you drank a lot of the broth and got a clump of spice all at once. One thing to note, if you do get delivery, you will need your own chop sticks or spoon because that was not included.

Back to our favorite ramen spot on chilly Friday night, it was so packed that you could obviously tell they’re understaffed. Nonetheless, kudos to the floor staff who worked so hard despite being short handed. This time we opted to try their summer special ceviche ramen and it was really delicious!

A charming spot that I was led into by smell alone- and to be allured by aroma on Ditmars is a complement of itself. The service was sweet and helpful. We started with the popcorn chicken and Takoyaki. The 🐙 was truly unique and cooked great. The popcorn chicken was lacking in flavor but the citrus combination created a nice taste. Now onto the main event!! The Hinomaru ramen just called to me. I was delighted by the sweet mixing of poached egg and bone broth- super unique and delicious!! Pork cooked to perfection. Spice level was perfect. Left nothing but clean bowls and full stomachs. Wish there was a coat rack so I didn’t have to put mine on the floor. Great overall. Looking forward to the next time!

COZY RAMEN 🍜 Walked in on a cold night while most restaurants were semi-empty, Karazishi Botan was packed. Be warned this place is… cozy. Might be tough waiting for 2 or more but I was flying solo. I waited for 5-10 minutes and ironically got the most spacious and comfiest seat in the restaurant at the couch by myself. The atmosphere is lively and energetic. The menu Is extensive as they have much more than ramen. I ordered the wedge salad with mango dressing which was light and a nice counter balance to the savory. Also the takoyaki octopus balls are amazing; I mean you should always order this wherever you are. The tonkatsu ramen 🍜 was very delicious and hits the spot. The broth could’ve been a touch saltier and there could’ve been 1-2 more pieces of chashu but overall very good. Highly Recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I haven’t had a vegan ramen better than this in NYC, or been to a Japanese restaurant that offers the amount of vegan options they do! Be sure to ask your server, a few dishes on the menu say vegetarian but they are in fact vegan! Notable favorites: Captain Brooklyn, Fish and Chips, Yakionigiri

We had a great time. The food was tasty, but I’d recommend against ordering the Iron Men IV if you prefer things less salty. When we ordered, the waitress did mention that the broth would be “very rich,” but I was not deterred and curious to try it. It was tasty, but I’d probs have preferred what my gf got, which was the Showa Classic. We shared and enjoyed the INEZO Peach, a jelly-based sake drink. The servers were extremely courteous and responsive even though it took some time to get our orders in. If you’re dining here, expect a cozy experience since some tables are positioned quite close to one another or the bar seating to maximize utilization of the small space. I’d def come back the next time I’m on smith street.

Excellent food! I think it may have the best Tsukemen style ramen in Brooklyn. I recommend the cold noodle tsukemen. They have a fun and quirky menu (matcha french fries for example) but also more traditional ramen options. I think you need to try this place at least once. Authentic as well (the owner and chef are Japanese). Three different seating areas, outside shed, indoor bar and tables , and then they also have an outdoor garden eating area. Very friendly!

Summary: 2 person meal with delivery fees/tax/driver tip = $85 and we didn't finish a single thing. Ordered Tonkatsu and Showa ramen. One ramen bowl had 2 standard diameter and 1/8" thick slices that we'd expect from any other ramen spot. The other looked like it was sliced from the very end of the tied roast and were about half the diameter and only about 1/16" thick...a noticeable difference. Not the end of the world. Then we noticed that both were missing the scallions listed on the menu and no additional packet or side container was included. The Showa wasn't supposed to have bamboo shoots but there were enough for the person who doesn't like them to point out that they were in there. We ate about 1/3 of each because from the first bite they were both insane sodium bombs. Barely edible. Oh yeah, the ribs. Not memorable for any positive reasons. May be ok at the restaurant but I doubt a 10 minute delivery ride will dry out ribs this fast. All the flavor was in the glaze, meat was nothing notable flavor-wise. We won't be back.

Ivan Ramen, located in New York City's Lower East Side, is a vibrant and popular spot known for its creative homemade noodle soups and izakaya-style small plates. Chef Ivan Orkin's flagship restaurant has garnered acclaim from respected critics and was even featured on Netflix's 'Chef's Table.'
Spectacular all around! Everything we tried was delicious. The seaweed kimchi was phenomenal, the ramen - out of this world (every single spoonful and every bite was divine), very interesting n/a drinks and the smoothest cheesecake. Very nice staff. We got there at around 3:45 p.m., and it was nearly empty. Food was served very quickly, and it's very convenient that you can pay through the QR code on your table. We were also really surprised by how low the prices were compared to the quality they offer! If we lived closer, I would eat there every day! Can't wait to go back!

Ivan Ramen (yes, the Chef’s Table legend!) did not disappoint, chicken broth has been simmered for 8 hours, smooth yet silky, soft-boiled egg stirred in for that velvety touch, noodles with a perfect chewy bite. Crispy chicken skin + scallions on top = flavor bomb . And I loved those roasted tomatoes! Skin crackly, tangy-sweet and refreshing—such a genius twist! Will definitely return.

Amazing ramen! Had the spicy miso one. Very rich broth and the spice blend to the point with a divine garlic touch. Yet it was more of a Mala noodles to me. Noodles were perfectly cooked (a bit thin for my taste tho). Will come again for the tonkotsu.

This is my third or fourth time here. It’s always a great time, no matter the time of day or week. Absolutely exceptional Ramen. The appetizer of the crunchy chicken was really yummy. The Ramen was a whole other level of ramen I’ve never had before. I got the Ramen with the crispy chicken on top. It was out of this world.

Ivan Ramen offers a refreshing take on a classic dish. The noodles were firm with a unique flavor, likely from a different flour blend, and stood out from any ramen I’ve had before. The broth also had a creative twist that felt light and clean without losing depth. I had the spicy miso and i think there is mala in there.. the different spice profile is well balanced. It’s a great example of how you can deviate from tradition and still deliver something just as satisfying as the original. Service is good - the staff is very attentive. Restaurant lighting is a little too dim imo.

Momofuku Noodle Bar, founded by David Chang in 2004, is a renowned Asian-accented American restaurant that has been a pioneer in the ramen craze in New York City. The open kitchen and minimalist decor create an inviting atmosphere for diners. The menu features a variety of dishes, including crispy Korean fried chicken and soft pork buns.
This is our go to noodle bar in East Village for dinner with my wife. I haven’t tried too many noodles before, but I can easily say these are the best I’ve had. The chicken noodles are our absolute favorite. As for dessert the last one we tried was incredible. Everything is homemade, and you can watch the whole cooking process through their open kitchen, which is spotless and well organized. The staff is just as impressive as the food super friendly, helpful, and understanding. Special thanks to my friend Dominick. If you’re looking for a delicious dinner, a warm atmosphere, and great service, this place is absolutely the right choice.

Loved my experience here. Service was anticipatory despite it being packed on a Friday night. The chicken dishes were the star of the evening the marinade was on POINT great balance of sweet and acidity. I would say the noodles are good but I somehow found the chicken dishes just spectacular. Pork belly is very tender but could use more flavor. All in all the vibe and overall team made it a great night for us. It can get so loud in the resto so if you want a quiet place to chat don’t come on a peak night.
Jean D — Google review
It’s a great vibe definitely geared towards younger crowd. The tables are small and the have stools without backs. A bit on the loud side. Food and service are great. Price is reasonable for what they serve. The hand rolls and pork belly baos are delicious. So was the ginger scallion noodles. The milk chocolate pie was really good. The smoked pork ramen was our least favorite. My expectations were much higher for the broth.

Momofuku Noodle Bar is a Japanese fusion restaurant with multiple branches. I visited their branch located in New York City’s East Village. The location was quite convenient and as there is a subway station nearby, it is easy to get to. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be greeted by friendly staff and a clean dining environment. The staff are happy to assist you with any ordering or general query. Before coming to this establishment, I had read many positive reviews and therefore had high hopes for the food quality. However, things started to go south as soon as the first dish arrived at the table. I found the smoked chicken wings to be too salty, though the meat was somewhat tender. As for the crispy spring chicken, whilst the chicken skin had a good texture, I found the dish to be slightly over-seasoned. Despite not getting off to a great start, I was excited to try their ramen since many of the positive reviews mentioned their noodles. Unlike the other two dishes, it turned out the ramen was not over-seasoned at all. It was quite the opposite. I found the noodles to be somewhat bland. Whilst the smoked pork tasted decent, it was unable to make up for the lack of flavour in the broth. Overall, while you will not have a horrible experience dining at this restaurant, there are better options for those looking for high quality authentic Asian flavours at a similar price point.
Ryan K — Google review
NOODLES WERE SO GOOD. Iconic spot. Chicken wings were alright, not really special. BAOS WERE THE BEST. I see the hype and why this place is so famous, but I feel like they could’ve given me MORE. Overall, yum.
Priscilla W — Google review
the pork belly baos were the best bites of the night. i don’t think we’d get the bavette steak again. it wasn’t the most tender steak and just not our fav we’ve had at this price point. the potato butter felt like it was trying to pick up the slack. the ramen was tasty! we got the pork ramen and the pork belly was so fatty and tender. the noodles were nice and bouncy, i just wish the broth was slightly less salty. don’t get me wrong- i love salt (i am actually a salt addict) but this was just too salty for me. it could be that it was just too much with the other dishes we ordered. we wanted to get dessert but were too “riched out” and full. good efficiency and friendly service even with the noise level in the restaurant. food came quickly.
Sophie S — Google review
We went on Friday, and it was lively. The design is beautiful—everything in warm wood. Lots of people, lots of dishes. Behind the bar there’s always a board like at the airport: sometimes greeting guests, sometimes rearranging letters into the menu. No vegetable broth, which was a pity. The chicken one was fine, though we’re used to something richer and with more ingredients inside. The shrimp noodles were decent—the sauce tied the whole dish together nicely. The pork bao buns were tasty, if you enjoy fatty pork. They came with cucumber and sauce, although the Michelin guide photo shows them with a lettuce leaf. The tuna hand roll, which you assemble yourself, turned out unbearably spicy—we had to return it. Everything was fast, fresh, and made with quality ingredients. The presentation was very simple. The secret is in the simplicity, though that may not be to everyone’s taste.

Excellent experience, unbelievably kind wait staff. Came in for a promotion that I failed to read the fine print on, but they honored it anyway. Delightful and delicious ramen restaurant. Don’t let the small space deceive you — this place hits a home run with their creative and flavorful ramen offerings. I've spent a fair amount of time in Japan, so I'm always on the hunt for quality ramen. And this spot delivered across the board. I started with some delicious alcoholic drinks which were very good, but the star of the show is the ramen. It’s probably the best ramen I’ve eaten outside of Japan. Rich, exploding with substance and flavor. A perfect meal for a rainy day in New York. My partner and I had the pork bone ramen and spicy miso ramen. The pork broth is amazing, the noodles are perfect, and the chashu is moist and flavorful. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!! If only I could return and eat a different ramen dish here every day....

This was perfect for a rainy autumn day lunch last weekend. I ordered their spicy pork bone ramen, and they nailed it. The broth was rich, just the way I like it, with great depth of flavor. The noodles were perfectly al dente with a nice bite, and the thick cuts of chashu were wonderfully tender. Just an all-round great bowl of ramen. I’ll be back!

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
E.A.K. RAMEN and IZAKAYA by Machida Shoten Hell's Kitchen is a trendy ramen spot with a warm atmosphere, offering Japanese-style noodle bowls and sake. The EAK fried rice is highly recommended as a side dish, and the pork in their dishes is surprisingly enjoyable even for non-pork enthusiasts. The EAK Ramen is particularly irresistible, making it hard to opt for healthier options like the mushroom noodles.
We really love this restaurant. It’s on a really cute blog and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. We ordered a bunch of things, including the oh so spicy miso Ramen, the wasabi marinated raw octopus, chicken carriage, and the poke bowl. Everything was really really good and just hit the spot!

This definitely taste homemade and fresh to order food. I got the Tokyo Chicken Shoyu Ramen. A lot of chicken and a lot of onions (diced onions & green onions). If you don't like onions don't get this dish. The broth was flavorful not intense though I wish I would've had the option to make it spicy. The chicken had little flavor. And although I did have to take some of the onions out because it was too much they actually compliment the broth really well. I also got the 5pc Chicken Karaage. Fried chicken thigh pieces served with 2 of your choice sauces. I went with the spicy garlic and curry. Spicy garlic, was oil with toasted garlic & chili flakes.. I believe. Not spicy at all nor does it have a garlic flavor, still good, but misleading. The Chicken Karaage was hot, fresh and juicy. Also got the Veggie Fried Rice, which is not the fried rice most of us are used to. This had bell peppers, mini tomatoes, celery and like 2 pieces of tiny cauliflower. Though I'm glad I tried it, it really lacked flavor. Overall, food was hot and fresh but left much to desire flavor wise. Service from my experience was great. We got to sit outside and even though we were the only ones out there, they were very attentive to our needs.

The ramen spot was a total vibe. Clean setup, chill lighting, and that cozy kind of place where you could hang with friends for hours. The broth was actually really good—rich, flavorful, and not crazy salty like some places. The noodles had that perfect bite, and everything looked fresh. The food itself? Solid. The service though… not it. I had to literally flag someone down just to order, then again to pay. It wasn’t even packed, so that part felt off. Maybe they were short-staffed or just not paying attention, but it kinda killed the flow. I’m from Houston, so maybe I’m biased, but the meat portions were weak. For what you’re paying, I expected more. The flavor carried, but it didn’t give that “wow, I need to come back tomorrow” feeling. More like, “yeah, that was decent.” Overall, it’s a chill spot if you’re craving ramen and want a cool atmosphere. The broth and noodles do their job, but nothing here screams life-changing. Worth trying once, but probably not a regular go-to

Great izakaya spot in theatre district that's good for quick lunch or fun dinner. Remember an amazingl popup experience when they took over Ramen lab when it was still open. Large standard izakaya menu selection, good ramen with flavorful broths. Friendly attentive service throughout the meal.

On a chilly night, nothing hits the spot like a good bowl of ramen—and E.A.K. Ramen did not disappoint. I had the Oh-So-Hot Miso Ramen, and it was packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. The portion was generous without being too much, and I left completely satisfied. The vibe was relaxed, and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommend!

One of the top notch ramen near theater 🎭 district. Their appetizers were amazing as well. The ramen broth is flavorful. We had 6:30 pm reservation but we were early. They sat our family early. Highly recommended for ramen lovers.

Spacious place, nice vibe and great options on the menu. The gyoza was juicy and flavorful. Got the oh so hot ramen. The broth was heavenly, very soothing in winter. The ground chicken and pork were well made and tasted great. Over all a great spot.

Marufuku Ramen, a celebrated soup spot from the Bay Area, has made its mark in New York with its Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen featuring a milky 20-hour simmered pork broth and customizable spice levels. The menu offers various options including chicken and vegetable broths, along with Japanese appetizers like gyoza and edamame. Customers praise the rich and creamy broth, flavorful ramen choices, and generous portions of meat.
I really enjoyed the ramen here—it's a reliable, satisfying bowl that comes absolutely loaded with toppings. I had the hakata tonkatsu dx bowl of ramen that features a light, flavorful broth with hints of pork and corn that feels comforting without being too heavy. I also tried the gyoza, which were just okay, but the super refreshing side salad made up for it. The sweet soy dressing was something I'd come back to have again. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a spot I’d happily return to.

This is my go to ramen spot in the city, I love it so much and I enjoy going to the toy Tokyo store across the street to get a blind box. The sake selection is amazing and has just what I need. I always order the takoyaki balls everytime. Perfect small appetizer to start

I’ve come several times to this location to enjoy a bowl of ramen and each time this place never fails to deliver a yummy bowl of ramen. I stopped by today for a lunch date and everything was delicious. I do want to point out that the service was exceptional today. The service is always great but Kennedy was patient with us looking at the menu options and was attentive the entire time. Overall, I strongly recommend this place.

We stumbled into here late afternoon after our intended kitchen had already closed for dinner prep, and boy were we glad that we did. This is a hidden gem (I was surprised to learn it is a franchise) that has it all - fantastic Japanese-styled service, attractive pricing, and solid ramen. We had the Spicy Tantan ramen which was delicious and the right amount of heat - very much present but not overwhelming. The broth was delicious and took them up on the additional order of noodles. Menu is simple and straightforward. Their gyoza had me reminiscing about my long overdue Trader Joe’s shopping trip, but at $3 for 6 pieces during happy hour, I wasn’t disappointed. The main dining was populated by a good number of families - both visiting and locals alike. The entrance had a wonderful bar that looks into the kitchen and feels like a perfect spot if you were looking to dine alone and many were. If you are looking for a salve for a colder night or winter day that won’t break the bank, this checks all the boxes.

I really enjoyed the Hakata Tonkotsu DX at Marafuku Ramen! It’s a true Hakata-style ramen with an incredibly rich and flavorful pork broth. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the toppings were generous and delicious. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic ramen with deep flavor!

Ramen restaurant
Mu Ramen is a cozy Japanese noodle spot in the city, known for its unique beef-based ramen infused with New York flavors like half-sour pickles and corned brisket. Chef Joshua Smookler's focus on quality over quantity shines through in the carefully crafted menu, featuring options like regal duck shoyu and tonkotsu 2.0. The restaurant's small size adds to its charm, with recommendations for reservations due to popularity.
Small place but very warm and well-decorated. Worth the wait. The soup of the ramen is just perfect. Even when you finish all the soup, you won’t feel heavy or greasy. The appetizers are very special also.

Interesting and delicious appetizers, tasty ramen! It was crowded on a Friday night and we were lucky to be seated without a reservation - I'd make one of those if going on a busy night! One star off for being cash only (there's an ATM inside, so not hugely inconvenient), and having really nothing for a vegetarian to eat, that's a bummer. With a vegetarian partner, I won't be back as often as I'd like!
K. A — Google review
The decor and ambiance is delightful inside but I’m afraid the place is a bit overpriced for what you get and the main entree is trickily priced in my opinion. The Mu Ramen is $19 which they ran out of and a “substitute” was made for $15 according to the menu but the price ended up being $34 not $15 as suggested by the menu. I though that was a bit tricky. The actual ramen was a bit bland for $34 and it kinda felt like they just threw some noodles in there with hot water and called it a day. The edamame I must say was delicious and very well seasoned. I loved it and it was probably some of the best edamame I’ve ever had. The bottle of sake was $27 but finished rather quickly. I really didn’t think the service was great.. our server didn’t take the time to check up on us even once after our food came out but we still tipped well. All in all just a Subpar experience.. it’s a trendy place and I wish them the best but I probably won’t be dining here again.

Went here for wife’s birthday...we had the Tonkotsu Ramen, Spicy Miso Ramen and OKONOMIYAKI appetizer. Ramen was top notch. Just amazing and the portions were very solid. Mu, owner is the place was there managing the joint well. She really made my wife’s birthday w the cake coordination. Never felt rushed and had such great care with Nikki also. Very grateful for the service and even happier with the quality of ramen. Top top notch restaurant. Cash only and there is ATM in the restaurant— so it’s no big deal

We were very lucky to be the first ones in the restaurant... I had made reservations on open table just in case though. Let me tell you... I think this is the best ramen I've had in NYC so far. Even though this is a ramen shop. Many of the dishes have a heavy French influence. For appetizers we had tuna carpaccio, the okonomiyaki, the dry aged Wagyu making hand roll (served raw), and 4 tebasaki gyoza. We had two bowls of the tonkotsu ramen and one of the I'll shoyu ramen. We had nitamago (seasoned egg) for each bowl. I had extra serving of noodles for my bowl. The tuna carpaccio had a nice clean flavor with straight forward taste. The dry aged Wagyu hand roll was good but you are making the rolls yourself. Okonomiyaki was fantastic and highly recommended. The tebasaki gyoza is something else. I loved it. This is not a transitional gyoza... It's a chicken wing that has been mostly deboned inside and the meat stuffed with fois gras. I believe the wing is cooked sous vide style because the chicken meat had a bit of pink. The whole wing is then quickly deep fried for a crispy outer texture. I haven't had a better tonkotsu ramen bowl in the city. Deep flavored porky broth. The pork is ever so tender. The seasoned egg is cooked perfectly with that nice soft liquid yolk. Some may consider the bowl small but with the seasoned egg and extra noodles... It's about $21.50. $17.00 for the tonkotsu, $2 for the egg, and $2.50 for the extra noodles. The shoyu ramen was good although I expected a stronger duck taste. For me the tonkotsu was a much better choice. For some reason, the mu ramen wasn't available. This is a cash only place. ATM is available in the restaurant. Regardless I'll come back here for more.

I'm a big foodie person. I travel all around the world trying restaurants that are recommended. So here are key food and hospitality things about this place. Positives Noodles have good texture Broth is good Pancakes are very good Fried chicken is ok Service well we will get to that. Negatives Way too expensive. Manhattan has better prices and better Ramen at numerous places. Seats are all stools. This should be mixed up. Stools and back rest chairs. The Fried Chicken does not have the strawberry jam anymore. Chicken is not good its just okay. They do not allow modifications. So this is how it works you can add whatever you want to your order but you cannot minus out anything. I asked for no onions and I was told that they can not do that. There are certain medical conditions that people have such as Crohn's disease and certain foods do not sit well with people. This is not the place for that. So no modifications. They do not do take out or delivery. And if you want to have your food to go they give you horrible to go containers without any bags to put them in. The MU Ramen bowl is ok. For beef Ramen the corn beef is way too hard should be tender. Beef broth is very good. Noodles are good too. Chewy noodles. As for the Duck broth it is good. But thats about it. Small menu. Out of everything the pancakes where the best tasting thing that I've tried at Mu Ramen. But I don't think a bill for around $100 justifies pancakes. They can brush up on the hospitality. Service is bad. They won't last at these prices and bad service. Also it's a cash only location with a atm inside. Talk about gotcha. I recommend Minca Ramen, Ivan Ramen or Momofuku noodle bar if you want Ramen. These places have far better Ramen for a better cost for the amount of food you are getting. Also the quality is superb at these locations. Sorry Mu Ramen fortunately you guys are the only Ramen place in the area for the locals. People that travel will benefit from the far superior restaurants. As for me. I don't see myself visiting again.
E R — Google review
Cash only. Recommend reservations. People do start lining up 10 to 15 min before opening. Sit at the bar if you want to see the chefs work. I didn't have the ramen so this is an appetizer only review. The uni app was delicious and refreshing. Uni flown in from Hokkaido. Mussels were cooked perfectly with a delicious broth. Didn't care for the bread as it's not the kind to sopp up the broth. The raw/rare steak of sushi rice was really, really good as a self tataki. I didn't love the gyoza. It's good but just not my cup of tea. Its serves or is fried chicken? Weird concept. Wish they had some dessert options. UPDATE: Service felt a bit rushed this time. Had the shoyu ramen and it was winning! Also had a bite of the burger. Delicious and juicy! Really, great flavors. Bathroom is a bit of a mess and we were seated with the first wave so not sure what the problem is.

Momosan Lexington is a ramen restaurant located in West Chelsea, New York City by Masaharu Morimoto. The menu has massive selections of sushi and seafood, as well as ramen dishes that are inspired by Japan and designed to give diners a true taste of the country. The presentation is on point with each dish looking beautiful and delicious.
I am brought up with ramen being fast food so it feels a bit crazy to be paying almost $100 (incl tips) for a starter, the ramen, and a beer each for two people, but it's NYC, it is tasty, and conveniently close to my accommodation. The ribs might be my favourite. I would consider this a treat.
Julie K — Google review
My family visited NYC and wanted to try some of the restaurants associated with chefs on Food Network. We found this place and were excited to try food from Morimoto as we have seen him on Iron Chef. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious, but karaage had some parts that were too hard to bite through. The spicy tuna roll was excellent, the tuna itself was very fresh and high quality, and the roll did not have too thick of a layer of rice. We came with our 1 and 3 year old, and the staff was kind and accommodating, but they had no high chairs and the booster seats offered had no straps. If you come with a wiggly baby or toddler, expect to hold them with your arms.

New favorite ramen spot! Ambiance (5/5): Sleek dining room with high top seating facing the windows or bar seating, or regular low seated tables. The establishment was only a third full on a random weeknight at 6:30p so it was very quiet and peaceful. Service (5/5): Our server was manning the bar and also attending to a few tables. Since we sat at the bar, we were serviced quickly and often! She was very friendly and checked in with us at the perfect cadence. She even suggested using their special hot sauce when we were eating and it definitely elevated the meal. There’s a dinner special of 1 ramen and 1 app for $30 (some of the options were extra $) so it only makes sense for some of the combination orders. Pork Bao Buns (5/5): WOW, the pieces of pork were generous, thick but also super super tender. The sauce was creamy and the bun was soft/fresh. It has to be one of the best pork buns that I’ve had! Tan Tan Ramen (5/5): Holy smokes, this is one of the best ramen I’ve had in the city!! The ramen noodles were a perfect chew and bounce which soaked up the rich sesame broth. The broth is so savory and packed with tons of flavors at once. Half soft boiled egg. Spicy Tonkatsu (5/5): I liked my tan tan more but this ramen was equally good. Half soft boiled egg. Second visit: The waitress remembered me!! Tsukemen Ramen (4/5): This was a bit of a letdown compared to my first visit because: the soup was not hot enough and the thin slice of meat in the bowl was less impressive. The noodles were superb (cold as supposed to be). There's chunks of meat in the broth that were tender! Half soft boiled egg.

I don’t give 10s often but WOW no wait on weekday, quick service and generous portion + solid $30 ramen w app deal the spicy tonkotsu ramen had such deep flavor and spice as well as the most juicy pork portion and karage chicken was made with love. definitely coming back !

NR is a ramen bar and cocktail spot located on the Upper East Side, drawing inspiration from 19th century Japanese port towns. The menu features a fusion of Japanese, Western, and Chinese influences. The food offerings include oysters, mussel with beer and cotton candy, and specialty ramens topped with sea urchin or pork belly. Craft cocktails are served in ornate vessels for an Instagram-worthy experience.
Easily one of my favorite ramen restaurants. Everything was incredible, but the chicken buns and cocktails were absolutely standout and a must try! Shoutout to our server, Rei! Thank you for all the wonderful recommendations and making our experience that much more memorable.

One of my favorite dry ramen spots. It’s so good and service/ambiance is great too. Nice upscale feel that’s great for dates. Definitely get a reservation. Don’t miss this place, especially the truffle egg sandwich, sea urchin ramen, and their creative cocktails. Been here a few times and always excited to come back. Food: Outstanding and flavorful! Their apps are so good- Truffle Egg Sandwich is luscious and sooooo delicious. Melts in your mouth and makes you want to order 5 more. Their Spicy Tuna is great too. Although the tuna and oysters are smaller portions. For mains, do not miss the the Sea Urchin Ramen! Soooooo good. I usually like soup ramens but NR has the BEST dry ramen. It’s worth the price every time. Drinks: Their cocktails are delicious! Creative and different each time I go. Always a spin on classics and some of their creative kicks too. Keeps you on your toes to see what’s next. Vibes: Good space and not too crowded. The tables aren’t squeezed together and the acoustics make it easy for people to talk but it doesn’t echo the whole restaurant. It’s speakeasy vibes and intimate, yet fairly spacious with plenty of chit chat around you. Their bar seating is spacious too.

NR is a beautiful blend of a ramen restaurant and cocktail bar, and they really know how to create a great local vibe. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, and it’s clear this place is loved by the neighborhood regulars. The food is creative and well-prepared, and everything pairs nicely with their impressive selection of drinks. I think this is a place meant to be enjoyed with good cocktails and good company, rather than just for ramen alone. If you’re looking for a pure ramen experience, there might be other options in New York — but if you want amazing service, great ambiance, and a fun night out, NR is definitely worth visiting.

I came here for dinner one evening and was pleasantly surprised by my experience! Located in the UES, this Japanese-fusion restaurant is a delightful find and great spot for a date night. The interior gives off speak-easy vibes and is a lot more spacious than I expected. Service here is pretty quick, friendly, and attentive. Their menu has a wide variety of appetizers and their mains focus on Japanese ramen and soup curries. They also have a unique menu of cocktails that are all so fun (definitely a must-try!). We got their Happy Hour seafood tower, uni ramen, and wagyu ramen alongside a couple of their cocktails. Their seafood tower was delicious and a great deal during HH. I loved their soupless uni and wagyu ramen and both were special in their own way. The wagyu ramen came with bone marrow and was full of flavor and so rich. The uni in the uni ramen wasn't the most buttery, but it was still good nonetheless and I loved the addition of roe and seaweed into the dish. Their cocktails were so fun and one of them (I believe it was the Botanical Garden) doubled as our dessert as it came with shaved ice haha. Great spot and I highly recommend.

TabeTomo is a cozy restaurant that opened in 2018, offering traditional ramen, tsukemen, Japanese small plates, and sake. Chef Tomo Kubo is dedicated to perfecting his uber rich pork broth, which takes over 60 hours to refine. The Jiro-style tonkotsu tsukemen is a must-try dish straight from Tokyo.
If you love rich, flavorful broth and chewy noodles, this place is definitely worth a try. Even with the bold broth, the chashu and egg each retain their distinct flavors. After finishing, the savory taste of the broth lingers in your mouth for a while.

Tried the tsukemen and tonkatsu jiro ramen at TabeTomo. The noodles were chewy and had a great texture, but tsukemen broth was extremely salty. I couldn't finish it, which was disappointing given the good noodle quality. Also we found a hair in Tonkatsu Jiro ramen… Overall, not something I'd go back for.

COME HERE - if you want the most full bodied, rich, and flavorful bowl of warm ramen. I ordered the seared mackerel appetizer and the tonkotsu chashu tsukemen. The fish was flavorful, satisfying and refreshing. Plus you get the added bonus of the torch at the table. The people next to us ordered the megamori tsukemen challenge. It was MASSIVE and gave everyone quite a good piece of entertainment for the night! No reservations, so prepare to wait OR get there on the earlier side. It was a Saturday at 5:30p and we waited about 15 mins! Enjoy !!!

First of all, the environment was very clean, atmosphere was very nice, quiet but you can still talk, the staff was very hospitable and welcoming. Second, appetizers was great, the karaage was insanely juicy and tender, prob one of the best karaage i’ve ever had, would recommend, the chicken skin was crispy and flavorful also very nice, the takoyaki was a bit too sourly on first bite due to the amount of sauce on it but besides that it was a pleasing osaka style takoyaki. Third, the jiro style ramen was nice, me and my friend had the tonkatsu chashu ramen, very flavorful especially with the chilli, can taste a bit salty after some bites but overall was a pleasing ramen, also the portion was HUGE you thought you’re almost finished but there’re still plenty inside the sound, the tonkatsu chashu tsukemen was also decent but it was even more salty than the ramen, so I’ll personally only get the ramen next time. Overall, would recommend, very nice appetizers with fairly priced ramen for the portion, the staff was hospitable the environment was enjoyable. Definitely would revisit. -sawa

In search for affordable new york ramen I ended up at this place. First of all, portion sizes are hugggee!? I went with my dad and we could hardly finish one big bowl of ramen together (we did have some delished torched mackerel that our waiter recommended on the side though). I really loved all the toppings. Probably the best tofu I've tasted, it was soft and silky, but not in a geletinous jelly kind of way. Just perfect. The rich and flavourfull broth was really to die for. Lovely food for a really affordable price. (btw the place was full of Asians, and if anyone is particular abou t their ramen it's them)

As a tsukemen in NYC, this place was great. Noodle does have a unique bounce to it. Similar to one in Japan. But your in nyc so don’t expect Japan price. Sat at the bar, good atmosphere. Large portion of noodle with a huge bowl of soup. I would advise the gf/wife just get the original tsukemen with single chasiu and add an extra egg. Dont get the cha siu tsukemme. or else you gonna have too many food. Or you can pack it to go home. That works too. Total meal: 2 noodles, 2 appetizer, 1 beer. Walked away 94$ but we got noodle packed to go for the midnight snack.

Ramen Ishida is a popular spot in New York City known for its meat and vegetarian ramen soups as well as salads. Chef and owner Yohei Ishida aims to elevate chicken-based ramen by perfecting a clear chicken and soy broth flavored with ingredients like truffles, porcini mushrooms, and ethically sourced Bobo chickens. The restaurant carefully selects the perfect noodles to complement each broth, offering options such as thin, smooth noodles or thick, wavy flour noodles.
Ordered Shoyu and it was delicious. As a person who has traveled japan more than 20 times, this is a taste with innovation and playfulness that I’ve never experienced in Japan. Small place with limited seats. Can only wait around since they won’t call you, but 6pm on a weekday was about 15min wait. No too bad Minimum spending per person is $20

I would recommend trying this place. The flavors are light and satisfying, leaving no heaviness afterward. Ramen is often oily and salty, but their chicken broth ramen feels gentle and balanced. It’s mild yet full of depth, a genuinely pleasant experience. Even if you have to wait around 30 minutes during peak hours, it’s worth it. Note that there’s no public restroom, and the shop is quite small with a 20 minute dining limit after your order arrives. They won’t rush you out, but it’s not really a place for lingering.

No doubt that New York has some of the best ramen spots, and this place is definitely one of them. The ramen I had was super flavorful, and I loved the cozy atmosphere of the small restaurant. As someone who's tried many different ramen spots, I can confidently say that this place is definitely worth trying.

Ramen Ishida’s New Tokyo Shoyu Bowl is a solid, no-frills take on a classic. The broth is super flavorful without being too heavy, and the noodles have a great bite. The chashu and egg are on point, and everything just comes together really well. It’s a simple, satisfying bowl that hits the spot

This place serves truffle oil shio ramen with a light chintan-style broth. It was really tasty The only downside was that it took quite a while for the ramen to come out. Also, there are only about six seats, so it feels pretty cramped.Still, maybe that’s part of its charm small, cozy, and very Japanese in style

Best ramen I’ve had in a long time and probably ever. Me and my friend both got the shoyu ramen, the broth was flavorful but not overpowering. We also got the crab and cream croquettes and they were to die for, it came with a peanut sauce which complimented the croquettes perfectly. Also highly recommend the iced matcha. We will 100% be back!

Very nice Ramen that is not too greasy but flavorful. It is one of the kind Ramen stand if that is your vibe. 20mins eating time limit is kind of fun.

25 min estimated wait time turned into a hour in the cold with my husband. No restroom .. it’s all a recipe for disaster… this place does have great ramen but beware coming in groups larger than 1. They prioritized a group of 4 after 5 seats cleared up and only 1 seat was free. Had to wait for another party of 2. They were doing DoorDash orders so the kitchen was backed up. I had to plead for atleast a free drink to make up for the experience.. asked for the plum wine and she gave me a terrible sparkling peach drink. I won’t be frequenting this location anymore. I’ll try Chelsea. The clam and porcini special ramen was not all that. Definitely doesn’t shine anywhere close to their menu ramens.

Shinka Ramen & Sake Bar offers an intimate setting with a wide selection of savory slow-cooked ramen bowls, BBQ options, and an extensive sake menu. The standout dish is the award-winning beef bone marrow ramen, made from 14-hour simmered wagyu bones with their marrow. The menu also features other tempting options like pork baos and spicy tuna tacos.
This place brings the heat in many ways. Good variety of drink options. We had the pork buns, soft shell crab buns, and the ramen with bone marrow. The bartender was really nice and recommended us drinks to try. The first time I had a matcha IPA drink. Will be returning for sure

My sister, partner and I went to Shinka for some ramen. We ordered the Beef bone broth ramen and the Birria ramen. Bone broth was to die for, ugh. Birria was okay still tasty but it doesn’t compare. Helen was our server and bartender. She is amazing! She gave us have some free shots. If you visit ask for Helen.

This restaurant truly deserves five stars! The staff are friendly and attentive, providing excellent service that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The food is delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection. The beef bone marrow ramen, in particular, is absolutely incredible—rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The environment is warm, inviting, and well-kept, making it a perfect place to enjoy a great meal with friends or family.

We came here for dinner, and I decided to try the bone marrow ramen. The broth was absolutely fantastic—rich, flavorful, and perfectly thick. However, the noodles weren’t quite to my liking; I personally prefer thicker noodles that could complement the hearty broth better. The restaurant itself has a laid-back and cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a comforting meal. Overall, it’s a solid ramen shop with unique offerings.

Blown away like a torpedo out of the water 💥 💥 Michelin star quality BROTH with beef bone marrow. 🥇🥇 Ramen was good but the broth, oh the broth, no words …. 🥹 I grew up here and ate pretty much at all the Asian hot spots from Mott St to cheap eats on Christie St. I wouldn’t have to pay more than $3.50 - $12 for a bowl of noodles. So $21 for this beef bone marrow ramen aka GYUKOTSU is damn excessive but rightly justified. I waited 15 minutes and well worth it 👍👍 I can devour this for lunch 7 days straight 🏆 First time here and I sat at the beer garden mistakenly. A more chill & laid back Japan setting is a quick walk up the steps. 2 establishments sharing 2 types of cuisine ✅✅

The ribs was very good. The nachos was from fried wonton skins which was very crispy and light and the toppings was a good match. We had the spicy tonkotsu ramen which was mildly spicy. The broth was good but didn’t need all the red oil on top that had no purpose. I removed as much as I could. The beef with marrow rant was delicious. Had a good dinner. Staff was friendly.

We were so blown away with the great customer service and phenomenal brunch that we came back later (the same day!) for an early dinner! They also have an awesome selection of beers on tap. During our first visit in the early afternoon -I opted for a rice bowl, my husband had steak tacos and my cousin had the wagyu sliders. Everything was absolutely delicious. Mahmod and Nahid were top notch waiters. They kept checking in with us to make sure all was well. It was a very relaxed and welcoming environment. Nahid and Mahmod enjoyed telling us about the different dishes on the menu and answered our questions without hesitation. They insisted that the next time we come back we try the Ramen. After we left the restaurant, we "worked up our appetite" again by exploring the Museum of Modern Art- so we decided to go back to Shinka! Since it was later in the day, the restaurant was more packed, but Nahid and Mahmod remembered us and welcomed us back with a friendly greeting. The atmosphere was alive with conversation and had a really chill vibe. I ordered the Bone Broth Ramen, my husband had the Wagyu sliders this time and we ordered the gyoza for appetizers. They food came out in a reasonable time. I was blown away by the Bone Broth Ramen. Like. Literally. I was almost emotional. Words can't describe the rich flavors I experienced. Eating the ramen felt like I was experiencing an outer body experience. The ramen and broth was delicious, delicate and rich. My husband was also mesmerized by the Ramen. Now let's talk about these Wagyu sliders. My cousin didn't offer us any when he had them and NOW we understand why. Those things are PHENOMENAL. You get three of them in an order and you will want more! The gyoza were also a hit!!! I have never seen gyoza presented the was that Shinka plates them. Underneath the crispy topping (which also tastes delicious!) are some the most delightful tasting gyoza . I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you get a chance to visit the Chinatown area of New York City.

Takoyaki has 6 balls and had barely any octopus in it. Nicely crisp and good flavor but the insides were a bit gooey and very soft almost as if it were undercooked. We also got the Shinka Tonkotsu Ramen and Beef Bone Marrow Gyukotsu ramen. IMO the tonkotsu ramen was better, just more flavorful. The bone marrow just tasted salty 😐 FYI Shinka and Beer Garden share a kitchen downstairs so wait time was extremely long… they also are probably understaffed so wait time for food is even longer.

Jin Ramen is a bustling Japanese eatery located just north of Columbia University, offering a variety of rice bowls and ramen noodle dishes in a laid-back setting. The restaurant specializes in Hakata-style ramen with rich pork-bone broth, originating from the snowy mountains of Hokkaido.
I’ve only gotten takeout or delivery and I’ve only had good experiences. I’m not a ramen expert but I’ve ordered probably 6 different things from the menu and they have all been very good.

This place would get a higher score if they didn't change their hours to something stupid. Before they were open from 1:30pm to 9pm. Now they change it to 5pm-10pm. A business in Harelm trying to get away with Chelsea hours. I love the food, but I guess the only time I will be going their is when I am out past 5pm. Which, nowadays, is almost never.

Don’t ever trust profiles with only one review. Especially ones who think a brown egg in a ramen bowl is rotten. Make it make sense, Mr. I traveled to Japan and know Japanese food guy. They have multiple locations for a reason. And at this point I’ve eaten at or ordered delivery from all of them. They are all solid. No matter what the trolls, Karens and Chad’s say.

This place is NOWHERE near authentic - or delicious. I've been to Japan, so I didn't expect a NYC restaurant to compete with that country's restaurants. I put off trying this takeout spot for months, and decided to finally give it a shot. I should have put it off permanently. This meal was disgusting. It took them 3 minutes to put this together. The ramen was overcooked, the broth was not fresh, the 2 TINY pieces of pork was overcooked, and the egg was brown due to sitting around for days. To top it off, Jin Ramen gave no utensils or napkins. My taste buds were not impressed, their presentation was non-existent, and their price was well over what it should have been. This was a nasty $23.00 meal, which I only took 2 bites. I wish I could give 0 stars for lack of taste and disregard for my health. Please avoid this place at all costs.

Nestled in the heart of Astoria, Tamashii Ramen has been delighting locals since its inception in 2013 as the first establishment to introduce authentic Japanese ramen to the area. This cozy eatery boasts a charming ambiance adorned with traditional decor, making it an inviting spot for both casual diners and ramen enthusiasts alike. The menu showcases a delightful array of ramen options, including shio (mineral salt), shoyu (soy sauce), and the spicy tantanmen varieties.
Had dinner with my family on a weekday and they were packed. No wonder why, very reasonable price for tasty food. The servers were all very nice and pleasant even of they're busy. Also if you pay cash, they will give 8% discount. This place is highly recommended. 👍👍

Really cute place. I enjoyed the seafood ramen called Champion. The broth was light with a Smokey flavor, rich seafood and the mussels were plump. The bathroom had some cute artwork. The soft egg was a little over cooked. But I was pretty happy with the overall flavor. I love the noodles and you can order extra serving of noodles.

I was told I would be taken to a Ramen noodles and other delicious Japanese bites restaurant. We told a walk to Austin Street and there it was. The space is intimate and has traditional decoration. My sons said little compared to the deliciousness of the plates we ordered. The customer service is superb and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The plates are beautifully presented and the taste is oh so good.

I enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere of the place. Very cozy and feels like you’re transported out of nyc. However the food was average. It was okay but I don’t think I’ll be back. Just a bit bland and lacking of the umami I expect from a ramen place. However, the staff was kind and attentive. We were served quickly and enjoyed our time. If you prefer milder tastes then this would be a good option.

This place’s food is so bad… it looks like they literally assembled everything from the fridge in 5 minutes. The taste is so bland.

The inside of this place is very nice and traditional looking. There’s plenty of seating to come with a group, on a date or just by yourself. Pricing fair and food was delicious. The ramen broth was some of the best I’ve had and the tantan was actually spicy. Usually I am disoriented when things are labeled “spicy” and they are far from it. The service was great and my server was very attentive. I would highly recommend if you’re in the mood for ramen and are in the area.

ROKC, short for ramen, oysters, kitchen and cocktails, is a trendy spot that offers a variety of ramen options, snacks, a raw bar and sophisticated cocktails. The bar is run by industry icons who serve up unique Japanese-inspired cocktails in creative glassware. The kitchen serves steaming ramen and oysters to enjoy at the bar.
Worth the trip and frankly the only cocktail bar of its caliber in the neighborhood. Offering a nice selection of creative Japanese influenced cocktails and traditional eats (pork buns, ramen, oysters and more). Exceptional service, fantastic craft cocktails and great food. Cocktails are made with care and attention to every detail (be prepared to appreciate the drink for its taste but also visual appeal). Drinks are $17 and up but you’ll get quality. Space is limited so expect a wait during dinner time. Otherwise, enjoy the bar (my preferred choice of seating) and watch the master bartenders do their thing with passion. Must visit.

I was in the area and my friend recommended getting dinner. I didn't know what I was walking into...the best food I've had all year! The best ramen I have had ever! Here's the breakdown: Drinks: cocktail menu is expansive and exciting! Tho I only had 1 drink, I was beyond happy with my Smokey Pina Colada! It came to the table as a clear drink, I was prepared to be disappointed.. Just the opposite.. Perfect combination of smooth, smokey, and sweet. A mezcal cocktail made to perfection! Appetizers: Everything 10/10 Oysters: Divine! I claim to not like oysters but my friend wanted them so I tried one.. I am now a converted oyster lover! Best oysters I have ever had, like ocean to table goodness. I will be back for their daily oyster happy hour 5-7! Deviled egg + egg +egg: I love a good deviled egg, but talk about taking it up a notch.. Sea urchin, salmon caviar, wasabi.. Deliciousness with a kick at the end.. Wow + wow + wow! (Can you tell I was excited to keep ordering?) Scallop ceviche: presentation 10/10 almost as good as it tasted! Ramen: I had the Kyoto.. The broth was heavenly.. Warmed my insides and made my soul happy! The consistency of the noodles, a touch Al dente, tasted like the were house made, just amazing! The customer service was great. Ambiance: cozy, warmly lit, good vibes, great subtle low music in the background.. I heard some old school tunes including roots reggae.. I'm officially sold! It is a small spot, went on a Tuesday and only had to wait 5 minutes..on the weekends, I can imagine you'll have to wait longer.. Soo worth it! My whole month was made with this unexpected amazing experience. In conclusion, I am a new regular! It's a must!

Korea has no shortage of amazing, high-quality Japanese ramen spots. But this was my first bowl of legit ramen in New York— and it did not disappoint. It had that deep, creamy tonkotsu-style broth I love, with perfectly chewy noodles. And the vibe? So American in the best way—bold, casual, full of energy. A delicious fusion of cultures, and definitely worth slurping.

Afuri Ramen, a part of a global chain with locations on the West Coast, offers a unique dining experience. In addition to the delicious ramen, the housemade ginger ale and yuzu lemonade are refreshing options.
My friends and I just had the most amazing meal ever at Afuri! The space is big and ambiance elegant. The service is friendly and amazing. Lots of great recommendations were made to tailor to our specific likes. The ramen and broth are made in house and you can taste its freshness. The broth is so comforting that it can cure any blues. They even have Japanese whiskey on tap and it was so crisp and refreshing! This is a MUST TRY!

We did a walk in and the wait was reasonable. We waited over 30 minutes for our waiter to even greet us or even get drink orders. Not only did he greet other guests that came after us but by the time he eventually took our drink orders, 2 other families that came after us got their orders. Ramen chicken broth did not taste good to us at all. The Limeade, ginger ale, the tempura rolls, and Japanese fried chicken appetizer were good. But the ramen wasn’t tasty. The waiter never checked back on us and we had to speak with the hostess, she was really nice. We later then found out our waiter was the actual manager and I couldn’t believe it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Prices are reasonable

I’ve been to Afuri several times in Japan, but this was my first time trying one of their overseas locations. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide range of appetizers here, unlike the Afuri shops in Japan, which are more quick dine-and-go spots with just a few ramen options. For the ramen, the toppings were fine, nothing that particularly stood out, but the broth and noodles were amazing. The space is bright, clean, and much larger than I expected, with a variety of seating options that work well for both solo diners and groups. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great dining experience and definitely worth the trek to Greenpoint!

Sweat Tea ordered the Tonkotsu ramen which is the most popular. The Basque cheesecake was delicious 😋. It had merengue candied nuts and lemon curd. Yes please.

A great new ramen spot in Brooklyn from a famous shop in Ebisu, Tokyo. I went for lunch and tried their $25 lunch set, which includes an appetizer, ramen, and a drink, such a good deal for NYC🍜! I had the karaage, yuzu shio ramen, and yuzu soda. The karaage was crispy and juicy, with a tasty sauce underneath. The yuzu ramen was light, refreshing, and had a nice citrus aroma. The yuzu soda was a perfect match. I also tried the poke salmon tacos. The shell was extra crispy and the salmon poke inside was flavorful and fresh. The restaurant is clean and modern. Everything came out quickly and the experience was smooth from start to finish. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area!

A nice find in the overpriced strip mall that the Northside has become. Extra big up for the minimalist but excellent Zen ramen, at $10 + the no-skimp serving size on the yuzu shio edamame — and nice price happy hour draft pours of Kirin, Asahi, Sapporo + Suntory. Issuing a Japanese recommendation for this spot.

Susuru Ramen is a cozy spot in Astoria offering Japanese noodle soups, rice bowls, and buns filled with meat or seafood. The veggie miso ramen features an earthy brown soup made from shiitake mushrooms and kombu, sticking to classic toppings like bamboo shoots, onions, corn, and fresh cabbage. With a simple interior and reasonable craft beer list, it's a great place for ramen lovers.
Loved their spicy wings. They came spicy with a light nose of yuzu which made them taste so special and delicious. The Tan Tan Ramen we tried was good too, the noodles which I believe are homemade came in a perfect firmness were my favorite. Just a cute, minimal stylish spot with delicious place that run by friendly Japanese crews that we will definitely keep coming back to!

This place had AWESOME RAMEN!! Loved it!! Wasn’t expensive either - plain ramen was $7, beef $12, miso $15. The broth was so so good. The beer was cheap too. Soup dumplings and pan-fried dumplings as well. Great place!!!
Kirsten O — Google review
I ordered the Deluxe Ramen, which had a very gentle and comforting flavor. The ramen included finely chopped onions, and since I’m not a big fan of onions, I personally would have preferred it without them. When I added the black sauce, it brought out a strong garlic flavor, so I could enjoy both the light, delicate taste and the bold garlic punch in one bowl. The noodles were on the thicker side, and for me, they didn’t pair perfectly with the soup. The service was excellent, and the interior had a nostalgic feel, almost like a traditional countryside ramen shop in Japan, which I really loved. For appetizers, I ordered the karaage and gyoza, and both were delicious. The karaage looked simple but was perfectly executed, and I absolutely loved it—I’ll definitely order it again. The gyoza also tasted handmade and was very flavorful. They also have a great selection of sake and beer, which makes me want to come back again for sure.

At this bare bones ramen shop with tables furnished of plywood, you’ll find one of the best paitan chicken broth ramen bowls around. Chicken Kara-age was perfectly crisp and juicy, while deliciously seasoned. House made dumpling were on point. Chicken Paitan with pork chashu was light yet balanced (fat-salt). Really good.

Been curious about this Ramen ever since a friend recommend this and also I read some good reviews online. First of all, the place. I wish the place could be nicer lil bit. It doesn't give the cozy vibes, doesn't give a feeling of welcoming or feeling want to come back. The food. My friend and I we ordered gyoza and karaage as appetizer. The karaage was soooo delicious. I love it. The gyoza just okay, almost similar like frozen gyoza we can get from costco or BJ's. Nothing special. Then for ramen we ordered Paitan and Tantan. The Tantan was soo good but the Pairan, I don't know what to say. Just blant, didnt like it at all. But the server, who also the hostess herself was sooooo nice. She did her job very well. She maintain the line and serving other customers at the same time. Thumbs up for her. So. My conclusion. It's good but not that great. Well, maybe I should try other ramen and other appetizers next time.

I was specifically looking for ramen that wasn't of the pork broth/tonkatsu variety. For this reason I landed on going here instead of the other ramen restaurants nearby. I went ahead and ordered the deluxe ramen so I can intake more protein and it was pretty good! The wait staff was really nice and diligent. It was also a pretty hot day today mid day around 1 PM so we were the only ones in the store. Not sure how they are when it is busier. The food was great. Since I've mainly eaten ramen in LA/Vegas/AZ and only had 3 ramen places in NYC, I would say it's probably on par with most places. It definitely is worth a shot if you like chicken base broth as opposed to tonkatsu, miso, or shoyu ramen.

Japanese restaurant
Za-Ya Ramen is a modern spot in Carroll Gardens that offers re-imagined ramen with beef bone or chicken broth, sake, and beer. The must-try dish at this restaurant is the gyukotsu, made with beef bone marrow broth, thin noodles, tender braised beef, scallions, sweet onions, bamboo shoots, and cilantro.
I have to say I would probably never come in to this ramen store had my Japanese friend not recommend it. The chef is not Japanese and the interior is pretty dated, also not many people in this location so what else can go wrong right? But to my surprise, their ramen is decentLy good. Soup is light but flavorful, chashu is charred and smoky and noodle is fresh and good. Their karaage and unagi pie are also really good. If you are around the neighborhood, please give this store a try.

Most complex ramen I’ve had. The broth is very rich and heavy. The spiciness is perfect and noodles were just the right bite. The fried chicken was good but could have a bite more flavor. Tuna bowl was good but very small. Overall food was good. Service and safety was exceptional.

I was excited to try the bone marrow broth featured in their ramen. It added the richness and creaminess I was expecting, but kind of lacked in overall flavor. The short ribs topping was lovely though! Tenderness in every bite.

I want to place this as #3 on my “Best Ramen in NYC” list. 1st is Cha Menya and 2nd is Ramen Ishida. Za-Ya Gyutotsu - $18 + $2 (egg add on) Broth - 5/5. BEEF BONE MARROW BROTH. In love with it. A different type of fattiness! Cha shu - 3/5. This is BEEF, not pork. Has the charred and smokiness, tender but chewy. Probably the lowest component of the three. Noodles - 5/5. 17 minutes of thin noodles sitting in the broth, but maintain its firmness. I’m beginning to fully appreciate and embrace thin noodles now. Side notes: Unagi Pie - $10. Flaky and puffy. Sweet eel sauce glaze. Texture of the pastry overpowers the eel. Karaage - $10. Same as mines but crunchier. They definitely added a lot of seven spice to the mayo, which is a plus. Total - $52.26

The noodles are fried thin noodles like Kyushu ramen. The soup also looks cloudy like Kyushu Tonkotsu ramen, but it was Gyukotsu (beef bone broth) not Tonkotsu (pork bone broth), which made the ramen cleaner and tasty. If you know Japanese Gyukotsu ramen like clear consommé soup, their ramen is completely different and worth a try. I would definitely like to come back again. ------------------- I came back, and the Gyutan Ramen was amazing. The soup was bold and creamy as i expected, and the Gyutan (beef tongue) was chewy and delicious.

Service was a bit frustrating. Had two different groups come in 20 minutes after us and everyone got their food before us. Sat there waiting for food for a while. The waiter spilled water on the table didn’t clean up. Waited a while to be approached. Got water before we got menus. So just sat there awkwardly. It was frustrating because the place was not packed. It only had two other tables besides us. The waiter forgot to bring soda until we reminded him what we ordered. However the food was amazing. One of the best ramen soups I have ever had!

Great little spot. Beef bone broth is delicious and all the ingredients are really fresh. Unagi pie crust was flaky and light and the eel was so savory. Tan tan ramen was very flavorful with just enough spice.

After a busy day and hard work nothing can make you feel relaxed but a yummy bowl of hot ramen. 😋This place is by far my most favorite place and the only ramen restaurant that I would highly recommend. They not only serve THE BEST ramen in Brooklyn but they are always polite and welcoming. Very clean as well! I’m very happy and grateful that they reopened the restaurant after the hard months of pandemic. They also follow all the safety guidelines, we felt safe eating there, thank you 🙏🏼

Instant Noodle Factory is a laid-back and affordable spot where you can create your own customized instant noodle dishes. The store features a stunning illustrated mural of soup and a Wall of Ramen showcasing 115 varieties of noodles. Each package is carefully labeled and displayed like works of art. You can personalize your noodle creations with a variety of mouthwatering toppings such as pork chasu, fish ball, marinated soft-boiled eggs, ducks, beef Birria, and more.
My girlfriend and I went to this place after we heard there's a restaurant where instant noodles are the main gimmick because we're both instant noodle fanatics! So many rare flavors and I'm pretty sure you can't even find some of these in the country! Great price for what it offers. Would recommend, especially if you're a lover of spicy foods like I am!

Ramen is ofc good. They used to let the customers cook the ramen previously now they do it and serve. Employees can be more friendly. They are busy on their phone and doesn’t seem that they like coming out of the covered place. Bad customer service but good location price and food

It was a wonderful experience. We would definitely come back whenever we crave for some instant noodle. Lots of dishes to choose from but if it’s too complicated then you can choose from given combos. Staffs were wonderful and space is clean and large enough to accommodate enough guest.

We’ve had our fair share of instant noodles growing up, so it’s so cool to see our memories of instant noodles culminating in an Instant Noodle Factory. This spot elevates ordinary noodles into a novel experience that's not limited to just college dorm rooms and late night eats. Instant noodles are so convenient for a quick lunch or as a snack, and it’s so easy to prepare by simply adding boiling water. It’s pretty awesome to see how a meal like this has been turned into such a fun concept in LIC. I love the wall of ramen showcasing all the different types of ramen right when you walk in. They even have the spice level of each noodle displayed. My friends and I ordered the beef birria, mala madness, champong, and duck duck noods, which are mostly combinations of classic instant noodles. With each noodle dish, you have the option to add extra toppings and sides on - we opted for toppings such as corn, fried fishballs, shrimp shumai, scallions, shrimp, and fried fish cakes. Ben, of course, got the beef birria noodle soup, which comes with tender marinated beef, corn, and jalapeños. The duck duck noods come with a pulled duck leg, scallions, and a soft-boiled egg. The mala madness is a combination of Buldak Fire noodles and mala spice. Our cousin loves spice, so he handled it really well - he could've upgraded to the Buldak 2x spicy. I got champong, a spicy seafood noodle soup, and added corn, shrimp, and fried fish cakes with edamame. Don't forget a drink to wash the noodles down! I really liked the iced lychee yakult tea and peach iced tea.

I loved this place! I got the classic tonkotsu and husband got the duck noodle, both with the soy egg add-on. Very tasty, generous servings of meat and fun experience cooking the noodles. We will definitely be back to try the other flavors. Fun place for date night. It wasn’t too busy on a Friday night (7:30) but I could see the wait for the kiosk being long if it got busier, since it takes a while to select all the options.
Crystal H — Google review
Super cute concept that is very simple and well organized. Ordering from the kiosk and navigating the different ramen and topping options was very easy. Getting the order took longer than expected and there was a few toppings that were sold out, such as egg and scallions. The meal itself tasted good and I got to try a ramen packet I've never had before! I chose all free toppings and added birria beef for my protein. I also got a peach tea that was refreshing and not too sweet. The meal came out to around $15 which isn't a lot for dinner but a bit steep for instant ramen. Overall I liked the experience and would recommend trying out with friends.
Lynne C — Google review
A fun and tasty ramen experience. 🍜 You start off by choosing from a variety of instant ramen options. I’m vegetarian and they have at least 5 different types of veggie ramen options to choose from. You can add extra toppings into your ramen like fried garlic and/or an egg, and some toppings are free of charge. You also get to cook your own noodles with the help of a machine before eating. The ramen is very tasty. I’ve been here various times already so I would recommend you try. Shoutout to all the team members who made Instant Noodle Factory possible. Thank you!
Ricky C — Google review
Such a nostalgic experience! So fun for a quick yummy lunch - beef and duck proteins were a huge hit! Place is super chill vibes with great music. Update: also ordered delivery in LIC on a rainy day and this absolutely hit. Noodles are perfectly cooked, egg yolk was runny, pork was tender and pulled apart easily. 10/10

Rockmeisha is a Japanese restaurant in NYC that offers an authentic and unique dining experience. The owner takes pride in serving handmade ramen, ensuring quality and freshness. While some customers were impressed by the delicious food and cozy atmosphere, others had mixed experiences with the dishes and seating arrangements. The menu features creative nightly specials alongside classic favorites like pig trotter and Hakata ramen, making it a must-visit spot for those craving top-notch Japanese cuisine.
If escaping to Japan to find their hidden gems from shows like Midnight Diner on Netflix? This place is that. From the food, the service and atmosphere, I tend to like to sit at the bar so I can have a front row seat on a good adventure. From the chef to the waitstaff I felt welcome. Definitely a must go to spot for authentic Japanese bar food with a focus on quality and presentation! #Japan #izakaya #goodfood

a cute place for izakaya style small dishes. the menu is quite small and so is inside. the soft shell crab special was pretty good, but nothing special. i’d say opt for the tako obo (octopus pancake) or handrolls over it. you do have the option to have the crab in a handroll, though we didn’t get it. the chicken nanban was also good, but i wish the sauce was on the side and not poured over. the tako obo was my favorite. the portions are all on the smaller side and the pancake wasn’t too large either.
Genevieve D — Google review
Absolutely the BEST ramen ever. Broth is amazingly flavorful. Noodles delicious. They’re so particular about the ramen than they will not make it if the chef is on vacation or if they can’t import the noodles from Japan. Soft shell crab also very good. Freshly made gyoza. Nice unassuming place with lots of small tables and counter top seating.

Amazing hakata ramen and small plates. Good vibes. Pork broth is rich, chef from Japan who used to have a ramen shop in fukuoka. Get the chicken nanban and hakata ramen. Shishito chips, spicy popcorn shrimp and wings great too.

Wow, I can’t believe I never came earlier. This is probably the most underrated place in the neighborhood. - Hakata ramen: a must get if you like ramen. They have the creamiest broth and perfectly cooked noodles. - Tofu as a starter: it was super fresh. Who knew something as simple as tofu with soy sauce, yuzu kochu, and scallions was a flavor bomb!

I came to the restaurant for the first time and found really good ramen that I never thought I could get such good ramen in NYC. Unlike many chain restaurants, it was not made with commercial soup, but rather handmade by the owner, one by one, on the same day. The friendly owner told us that he had been operating a store in west village for more than 10 years and moved here this summer. It was really good and we will be back.

The Thai restaurant Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill is a cozy and stylish space with weathered woods and a stylish bar. The menu features delicious thai cuisine and cocktails, all served in a brick-lined space with weathered woods. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing night out.
Really enjoyed dinner here. The space itself is beautiful — especially the floral room, which makes the atmosphere feel fun but also cozy. Service was friendly and the food came out at a good pace. The menu has a lot of variety, and everything we ordered tasted fresh and well seasoned. Prices are fair for New York. Definitely a good spot for a date night or casual dinner with friends. I’d come back to try a few more dishes.

I went to Bua tonight and had such a fun experience! The food was a little above average—not the best Thai I’ve ever had, but definitely tasty. What really stood out was the service—our server was so attentive, friendly, and made the night feel special. The vibes are absolutely immaculate: great energy, stylish decor, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The drinks are definitely a highlight here. They’re over-the-top in the best way—colorful, creative, and perfect for celebrating. Whether it’s a date night, girls’ night, or birthday, this spot makes the evening feel festive. I’d definitely come back for the ambiance and cocktails, and to enjoy another fun night out!

Second time coming here, and after ordering the same exact items, I can say the experience is consistently fantastic!! This restaurant is an ideal date night starter. The music is tasteful and upbeat, but not too overwhelming. The atmosphere is very photogenic, with so much beautiful decor. Every drink and food item, down to even a simple shot, is presented with lovely accoutrements. While the seating is close to other guests, it is still very comfortable. Highlights for me include the beautiful drinks in fruit (my favorite being the Piña Colada, they can be with or without alcohol!), the fried calamari, chicken curry puffs, pad kee mau with crispy duck, pineapple fried rice with crab/shrimp, and massaman curry with beef belly. A couple reviews mention improvements to service, however as an Asian American the style of service seems, for lack of a better description, typical of Asian restaurant service. Highly recommend eating here!

My fiancé and I were very excited to come and eat here, especially since he has a severe nut allergy and because Thai food is something he’s always had to avoid. We both loved our meals, and while the service could be a little better, it didn’t take away from our experience. The restaurant also has a gorgeous interior. Would definitely come back with friends and/or family, and is definitely a really nice date night spot!

The lychee ice tea was really good, and the drinks looked fantastic but the ramen was to so so. And the California rolls tasted like mostly mayo it was weird. We didn't dare order anything else to eat. Definitely a place for drinks though. The decor was pretty

Visited for the first time — the ambience was amazing and the drinks were absolutely fantastic! The service was also good and staff were friendly. However, the food taste was just okay, nothing too special. Overall, a nice place to hang out for drinks and vibe, but the food could be better.

First off, this place is cool in the decoration department. I love all the floral arrangements and lighting. It's pretty without being too overwhelming (to me at least). Second, everyone needs to come here. This Thai/Asian cuisine is seriously some of the best I've had! I'm never disappointed when I come here. The sushi rolls are large and worth the prices, the soups are delicious, the fish is fresh—nearly everything on the menu is a good choice. The presentation is also gorgeous. Food pics are a must haha. Overall, this place is such a win and I love coming here whenever I'm around UES. 10/10.

I visited this Thai restaurant for the first time last week, and the atmosphere was even more beautiful in person filled with flowers and such a warm, inviting energy. The presentation stood out too. I loved that the pina colada was served in a pineapple, such a fun touch and perfect for photos. The food was delicious my top picks were the sriracha fried crab and the crunchy rice with spicy tuna. Both were flavorful and memorable. The service was excellent as well, with friendly staff who really added to the experience. Overall, I had a great time here. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend for date night or just a special night out.

It’s safe to say, this is the best ramen shop i have been to. I got the tonkotsu ramen and it was amazing. The noodles were just the right portion. The gyoza was spicy but it wasn’t too spicy, which made it delicious😋😋. Not only was the food good, the service was too. The person serving us was rly kind when taking our order and constantly checked to see if we were ok!! Rly good ramen shop!

This was one of the best ramen shops we've tried Manhattan. We absolutely loved everything and some of the innovations were really unique. I thought the half eggs were cooked perfectly, which to me is one of the most important parts of Ramen. I also really loved the sour peach drink and the pomegranate citrus

If you're in the Financial District and craving ramen, you absolutely have to check out Kuu Ramen. It’s got a super satisfying menu, and the service is seriously top-notch. The food here is awesome. We tried two bowls and loved them both: the Beef Ramen was super rich and tasty, and the Spicy Miso Ramen had a nice, deep kick of heat that was just right. The best part? The portions are huge! They're so generous that you definitely get your money's worth and won't leave hungry. It’s seriously satisfying comfort food. You also have to talk about the people working there. The whole staff is amazingly friendly. They're welcoming and attentive, which just makes the whole lunch or dinner experience so much better and more relaxed. THis place is a total win in FiDi.

Naruto Ramen is a cozy spot that offers Japanese noodle soups, dumplings, curry, and mochi. Their signature 'Shoyu Ramen' is the result of meticulous research to create a rich broth using pork and chicken as the base. Handmade noodles perfectly complement the bold flavors of the soup. This cash-only mini-chain serves up delicious and filling bowls of ramen and curry for around $10 each.
Counter style ramen place. They cook everything in front of you. We went during a heat wave. We were all sweaty before and after we ate. There were no regrets. The place is really cramped though, nothing to do about that, but just a heads up for those who have never been here before. Pretty pricey for ramen though.

12/10!!! I ordered the katsu curry and rice. The chicken katsu was SCRUMPTIOUS, it was everything — crispy on the outside and chewy and tender in the inside. It pairs so well with the rice and curry. Serving was huge too (the photos don’t do it justice). The hostess was also very nice and welcoming. 100% recommended to try!

Date of visit: 10/11/25 Been going here for years, but hadn't had the time to make a review. This is a Japanese style Ramen restaurant with some dumplings, fried rice selection. Space is very limited and tight. Mostly counter seating, and a 2 seater by the window. Do not come in large groups. Prefer 2 people, 3 people max. Lines and wait can get a bit long especially during winter. Overall, good quality ramen, for the price it's not bad. 100% recommend. Hard to find parking at times, especially during weekdays. Weekends are better.
Eljin A — Google review
It was delicious! A cozy place but a bit tight, not a place to stay for long. I tried the spicy naruto ramen, it’s not like a typical japanese thick broth, it’s clear and fresh. Def will go back another time:)

Went in for lunch shortly after they had opened. Before going here I had been to the Guggenheim museum and it was raining so some hot ramen seemed perfect. I had some veggie Gyoza and the Naruto ramen. I like it simple. I had not noticed that there was a lunch special for that so the waiter just told me there was an offer on that and set me up. Very kind very helpful and honest. AWESOME! You can see your food getting made. It is a small but quick serving restaurant and very kind and nice staff. Food was nice and piping hot as it should be when getting delicious ramen and it was very tasty. Loved it. Nice and clean and the staff quickly clear past guests when they leave so it was clean, tidy and welcoming to eat there. Can highly recommend for your Ramen cravings! Well done Naruto.
Steven B — Google review
I ate here today (3/15/24) and the food was really good. However, when it came time to pay for our bill this one waitress was really rude. Right after the other waiter came to pick up our plates, the waitress immediately came to us to pay. When we clicked on custom tip, she rudely yelled “you can only tip 25, 20, or 18%” and proceeded to go back to this screen for us. We only wanted to tip 15% because she was being very rude… She then snatched the machine and berated us to make a point that we did not tip her a lot. I also want to make a point that she did not seat or serve us at any point the entire time we were there. Loved the food and the kitchen for making great food but will never come back to this location because of this horrible experience. I recommend going to the other Naruto store locations though but I will definitely NOT be coming back here. Update (6/4/25): It has been quite a while since I sent a formal email since the business replied back. I still have not heard back from them. It’s disappointing to see how they engage with negative reviews, seemingly just to maintain a facade of caring about their customers and their experience. It’s sad to see the continuous and recent complaints about the same bad service and tipping issues. If you’re considering dining here, be aware that this business clearly does not care about customer service.

[NYC Ramen series 1] Ramen is one of my fav food and I have always hunted for great ramen place across the world including Japan. It was the first meal I had after moving to NYC from Boston, and I was quite disappointed at the bar for 4.x review in NYC. Most ingredients seemed like it was sourced from japanese wholesale groceries. I was surprised to see chef throwing packaged noodle into seemingly package based broth. Workers were all latinx people. American pop music was playing. One piece photos on the wall. The taste and quality are similar to those cheap/non-popular places you can find near train stations in Japan maybe? I wouldn't go back and will continue searching for my go-to place in NYC for ramen. Follow me to continue this journey with me.

Soba Totto is an authentic Japanese restaurant in the heart of Manhattan, serving up delicious bowls of soba noodles and skewers (yakitori) made with thinly sliced pork. The menu is limited only to dinner, but lunchtime options include all-inclusive bowls that are perfect for a quick and easy meal. As an added bonus, the restaurant has a lively atmosphere with seats at the bar to watch the pros work.
Had dinner at Izakaya Futago in Midtown and it was a great experience. The space feels cozy and sleek, perfect for an after-work meal with drinks. We ordered the grilled eel with simmered egg, which was rich and buttery, and the All Stars sushi spoon, great bites w/ high quality fish. The large yakitori platter came with a great variety. The gyudon was really comforting. Their 4-stacking soba came with 3 different sobas and tempura. Ended with the chestnut ice cream which was delicious perfect: Everything was beautifully plated and balanced, definitely a spot I’d go back to.

This is a very quiet, relaxing place to eat some real Japanese food. It feels and tastes exactly like the food I ate in Japan. This place is such a hidden gem. The second you walk in, it feels like you’ve stepped straight into a cozy Tokyo izakaya — warm wooden decor, lively chatter in Japanese all around, and that perfect mix of chill and energy. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share, and every dish hit just right. The Tako Wasa was the perfect starter — cold, briny, and a little spicy kick to wake up your palate. The Aburi Mentaiko came out warm and melty, smoky from the torch and seriously addictive. The Ankimo Ponzu was rich and silky, balanced by the citrusy tang — one of our favorites of the night. The Emerald Oyster was a splurge but so worth it — super fresh and beautifully presented. The 5 Stack Soba looked impressive and tasted even better — chilled noodles with just the right texture, perfect for sharing. We also tried the chicken liver and gizzard skewers, both grilled perfectly with that savory charcoal flavor you only get from a real yakitori setup. Prices were really reasonable for the quality, and the staff were friendly but not hovering — they let you enjoy your food and conversation. Overall, just a great spot with authentic vibes, good food, and fair prices. Exactly the kind of place you stumble upon once and keep coming back to.

Absolutely loved my experience at Soba Totto! Excellent service, chill vibes, and delicious food! Tried cold soba for the first time and was not disappointed. Highly recommend the 5-tier New Totto Soba! So fun to eat and great to sample several dishes. Will be coming back :)

It wasn’t as nice as we were expecting but it was alright. The food tasted decent but the price felt high for what it was worth; the portions were on the smaller side and there was barely any meat in my niku soba. I also barely touched my cherry blossom cocktail, as it tasted like a party drink rather than a well balanced cocktail. I’d recommend getting sake instead. Overall the two sobas and one drink didn’t feel worth the almost $100 bill (incl tip) we paid. But the restaurant itself wasn’t bad. If you do go, you should use the discount on my profile to make it more worth your money.

What a find! The servers are kind and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is what drew me in, it’s casual and easy. I was specifically looking for a calm space to step away from the crowds at Tribeca Festival. Pricing (for lunch at least!) is very moderate for this location, level of service and food quality. This was my first time visiting Zutti restaurant and the atmosphere was amazing but the server we had was the exact opposite. I was insulted when I tried to order fresh noodles from the menu for my ramen and the server was confused and then I pointed to the menu item listing fresh noodles. She then proceed to say that all of their noodles was fresh and I said well it looks like it’s a different option as opposed to thick or thin noodles. She then said “OH COME ON!” Insulting me and making me feel stupid when I was just giving feedback about the menu. The food tasted poor after that experience and it’s safe to say I will never come back to Zutti based on this experience. Thanks for making me feel dumb and making me feel humiliated in front of my family. :(

The menu features must-try items such as Pork Gyoza, Pork Buns, Takoyaki, Karaage, Spicy Tuna Tacos, Zurutto Miso Ramen, and Curry Miso Milk Ramen. Customers rave about the delicious flavors packed into the ramen dishes.
Felt like soup on a cold day and finally tried Zurutto, which is a place we walked by many times before I tried it today. The service was excellent, and the soup today was outstanding. I had the chicken noodle offering, which is their most popular dish on the menu. In any event, we'll definitely be back. Not only was the overall experience great, but the price was right as well!

I ate at Zurutto 2 days ago and had a terrible experience. First, I found a cooked piece of ramen in my salmon don. There was clearly some cross-contamination going on. Second, I looked towards the open kitchen, where I saw the cook digging in his ear with his finger!!! Absolutely disgusting! This is a sanitary issue. I stopped eating and immediately asked for the check. I told the waitress about the piece of ramen in my salmon don. She said she'd make the agedashi tofu appetizer I ordered free because of the piece of ramen I found in my salmon don, which doesn't make any sense. I told her it was the salmon don that I found the piece of ramen in and she said that's why she made the agedashi tofu free. Shouldn't the salmon don be the one discounted? I'm not coming back here again and I don't recommend this place. After leaving, I saw a lot of other reviews of people finding things like hair, insects, and a piece of a glove in their food. It's a shame because the food tasted ok… until I noticed the piece of ramen and the cook with his finger in his ear.

I ordered delivery several times. I would say this was the best place selling ramen in Manhattan. The broth was so rich and flavorful. Everything was cheaper than I expected, and even cheaper than those I used to try in Los Angeles, CA. The don was also good as well. I haven’t eaten at the restaurant so I can’t tell about the service or atmosphere, but I would recommend it

An excellent neighborhood ramen shop that specializes in chicken broth and more. Very yummy. Love the additional touch of black sesame oil. A Casual and relaxed place. One time a cute toddler just came by to say hello 🥰. The staff is great and attentive. Pricing is excellent. Can get busy 🤩. Delicious food 👍 Came in today right after they open and got to enjoy the open modern space. Very relaxing. Service team was excellent 🤓

The ramen and service at the restaurant were good BUT my friend got her ramen packed to go (the server packed it), got home, heated it up, and FOUND THE FINGERTIP OF A GLOVE INSIDE HER RAMEN. That is absolutely disgusting. It’s unclear whether it was in there when the ramen came out fresh at the table or it happened when they packed it to go. But she is mortified (I mean, who wouldn’t be). We have no idea how that even happens. UPDATE: The restaurant was very prompt in responding and they provided a full refund of our whole meal.

Fresh ingredients, huge portion sizes, reasonable prices. In truth it was extremely fresh fish and very well cooked noodles. I have no true complaints except for the fact that their “spicy” isn’t at all spicy. It was just lacking the flavor I expected, I had to added all kinds of chili oil and such that they offered but it just wasn’t spicy at all. Good service

Came here on Saturday evening with my friend. We did not have any reservations. We got lucky that it was empty place, and we sat down right away. She ordered chicken ramen i ordered eal with rice. Food came very fast. Portions were very big for us. The food was tasty. In half an hour place got really packed, luckily we already had our dinner and was leaving. Great local spot to eat ramen.

First time at this ramen place. So yesterday, after my friend and I finished painting at color me mine — we both were looking for a place to brunch, so we stumbled upon this place on Google map as it was nearby. As we enter the restaurant, the waitresses there were attentive, polite, and welcoming. We got seated really quick, then served with water and the menu. Next, as we looked over the menu, the price range was very accommodating considering the inflation now. The food was delicious, by far one of the best ramen I have had in the city. I give 5/5 stars for everything because I was impressed with the food and portions, pricing, and atmosphere. I can't wait to visit again!

Kogane is a ramen restaurant in Brooklyn Heights with bowls of ramen featuring luxury and unique ingredients, as well as noodles made fresh every day. The atmosphere at Kogane is cozy, warm, and comfortable with wood walls and a seating area outdoors on a cold night; the service was attentive but not overbearing. Overall, I thought the ramen was pretty good - though it wasn't spectacular - and I left very full and satisfied.
Delicious food and very attentive service. Very cool atmosphere inside, very kind server was very helpful. Ramen was very flavorful and delicious. Will definitely stop back in again next time I am in town!

Really good ramen! It’s slightly too fatty and oily but a solid 8/10. The fried chicken was a bit disappointing, size of the meat wasn’t at a good ratio. The eggplant was really good, nice miso dressing. The Spider Crab Buns was a nice surprise, good crunch to go with the soft bun. Overall, solid!

The tonkatsu ramen was okay. Very standard. But the place smells sooo musty and like mildew. Felt sick being in there. They need to work on the air circulation.

Nice ramen shop in the area, 2nd location with first locate on 14 & 8th? Much more traditional and better than the branch of michelin rated ramen shop closer to dumbo that closed down. Trypical menu selection got Takoyaki and Tonkotsu. Pleasant wait staff and cozy place, nice spot to grab a bite after hanging out at brooklyn bridge piers.

In a cute but restaurant-light neighborhood, where most local options are brunch-heavy or bakeries, Kogane is a gem. Small spot, adorned by wood walls and benches, super close to subway, with great food and service. Seaweed salad & Spicy Miso Ramen were both great and staff was attentive. Menu has a ton of options (from ramen to kid-friendly favorites like fries & wings), including many beers & sakes. High chairs available for the little ones. Priced for enjoyment without regret. Will definitely be back!

While this location is more accessible compared to the Manhattan location it's smaller. The White Truffle Ramen had good noodles but I was expecting a more potent truffle flavor. Overall it's still a nice place to get ramen.

The best!!! Loved everything about this place, from the hole in the wall vibe to the excellent service to every bite exceeding my expectations. The octopus balls are a must (just trust me!). The kimchi ramen is a dupe for a favorite I’ve had before and I loved every spoonful of that amazing broth. This will become a regular spot for sure. Also love that they have a small selection of wines and sake but also the regular sodas. Absolutely delicious, could not recommend more!

E.A.K. RAMEN by Machida Shoten West Village is a branch of a Japan-based chain known for its pork and chicken broth ramen. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including the oh-so-hot ramen, takoyaki, ginger gyoza, and spicy fried rice. Originating in Machida City, Japan in 2008, E.A.K. Ramen has expanded to various locations across Asia and Europe.
I came to this ramen spot to try some of there veggie style ramens. I ordered the veggie miso ramen and the green house ramen which was vegan. The veggie miso has a creamy broth with a little bit of spicy kick. The green house has a less creamy broth but packed with good flavor. Both were greatly good. I love that they were able to change the type of noodle I wanted and they have different added topping options. The spot has a nice ambiance without being too formal. Service was friendly and cordial. The bathroom is a little difficult to access since it requires using an oddly narrow staircase but it's okay. Overall great experience.

Strong 4.5! It’s a good place to have lunch or quick dinner after work. It was recommended to me by colleagues as a lunch spot, but I decided to go there after work. We did not make a reservation and it wasn’t busy at all. Service is nice and attentive. Ordered buns, ramen and some drinks. I got Yuzu cocktail, actually I got two of those because it was that good. Ramen was good too, you can always add some extra ingredients if you want. Reasonable prices considering its location. Ramen around $15-17 and appetizers $5-10

I was looking for a place near work to eat my favorite ramen again! Found E.A.K. RAMEN by Machida Shoten West Village. Overall, a nice place for Manhattan, but! the owners of the establishment! Have you been to the bathroom? Is this even normal? What about the furniture? What about the mirror and the shelf? The toilet seat is wobbly. Is it really difficult to make a beautiful toilet? Visitors want to go there too! As soon as you do, write a comment about it, then I will go again. Because of the terrible toilet, I put 3*

Delicious, high quality ramen in Greenwich Village. The noodles and broth are the real stars here. Both are substantial and flavorful. The extras like meats and vegetables in the ramen bowls are relatively small portions, so get one of their excellent salads if you want more greens. The green tea is also excellent, brewed in a pot at your table from real leaves. The lunchtime service when we went was a little cold, but responsive and courteous, which is all we need. Everyone has an off day. I'd go again. Also, I love that the to-go containers are all compostable. The last thing I need is more plastic containers.
Randall C — Google review
First visit, pleasantly surprised by the good quality noodles and flavorful broth in the spicy Oh so Hot Ramen which comes in 3 spice options, mild, spicy or hot. I had the medium, spicy option, flavorful and delicious. The gyoza were very good and come out on a hot skillet done in the round with thin skins. I’ll be back!
ESB N — Google review
They had outdoor sitting which is great since inside the sitting area is too uncomfortable hence all tables being a few inches away from each other.. the food was good! The ramen broth was rich in flavor. Edamame with garlic was my favorite! Ps… try their lemon sour drink! It was great!
Nikole M — Google review
Average ramen spot, portion is quite small for the pricing, especially the fries like I paid $8 & could literally count my fries. The ramen was good though, I liked it along with the fries. However, no toppings really, if you want toppings, you must pay extra sadly. I'm giving 3/5 stars because of portion (sizing), and the decor wasn't it. My total was 28.32$ just for this.
Ms. F — Google review
Reasonable price here. They serve classic style of Japanese ramen. It was delicious but missing something unique. I had the zebra shio ramen, the soup was thick and rich, but the pork was kinda dry. Love the noodles they use tho! ✨Karaage was good. I recommend the mentai mayo. We also had the tofu appetizer which was a normal one.

In the mornings, it operates as Okonomi, serving traditional Japanese breakfast sets known as Ichiju sansei. The cozy twelve-seat restaurant provides a serene ambiance for enjoying a balanced and nourishing meal consisting of seven-grain rice, miso soup, roasted fish prepared in various ways, vegetables, and an egg.
This place is so special. It's definitely one of my favorite in the city. Okonomi serves traditional Japanese breakfast. The fish is fresh and flavorful. So much care goes into each plate. Everything is delicious and well portioned. Highly recommended.

Literally writing this before we’ve even left. DO NOT MISS WHEN A RES POPS UP HERE. Unbelievably delightful, start to finish. No decision fatigue, you get to watch things being made (sit at the counter 😌), great sake, and service attentive and kind but nowhere near overdone. If you’re hungry, do the large platter. And if they have a sashimi app, DO IT. You won’t regret it. Some of the freshest, cleanest fish I’ve had in a while. Such a beautiful experience in the chaos of a rapidly changing Williamsburg. 12/10!!!

Food 4/5 Service 3.5/5 Ambiance 3.5/5 Okonomi serves a traditional Japanese breakfast for $30-$38. The experience is intimate, with only 12 seats, so reservations are a must. Don't expect to leave completely full, as the portions are on the smaller side, but it's definitely a unique experience. I enjoyed the miso salmon, but found the pollock a bit dry and underseasoned. It seems the fish quality can vary, as my friend's pollock was juicier.

Amazing hidden gem. As someone grew up in Busan, KR, which is pretty close to Japan and is having lots of high quality Japanese restaurants. I can say this place serves a very authentic Japanese comfort food. Never expected, but surprisingly satisfied after having a long day.

This cosy restaurant is a gem. The food was simple, fresh and prepared beautifully. Every details was well thought out - from the tea leaves to the different wasabi for the appetizer (sashimi that melted in our mouth), to the exquisite black cod. We could have asked for their playlist as well, which added to the cosy vibes, great service. My friend described it as being a guest in someone’s house and being pampered with delicious food. The chef threw in a slice of cantaloupe and a zesty, refreshing iced ‘thingy’ at the end, on the house. Though the place was small, it wasn’t loud or too quiet. Just really comfortable … we’ll be back.

H Mart is not just a supermarket, it's a hidden gem inside a mall that offers an array of experiences. The venue boasts a unique drink menu featuring DIY fresh fruit soju drinks. On the second floor, visitors can explore a k-beauty store with quality products and houseware. The food court presents fresh rice bowl options and topokki that are described as fresh, chewy, and tender.
What a fantastic grocery store! The meat section and selection is top quality! The variety of produce is excellent and very fresh! I live in the Midwest and how I would love to have an H Mart in my neighborhood! Be sure and visit the upstairs for a quick meal and more great shopping deals.
Jesse V — Google review
I love Hmart. I go all the time if I can but I prefer the Fort Lee NJ one bc they always have the best prices and variety and stuff I love even if it’s not the biggest in size like Edison NJ. So w that said this location is great and in the heart of Korea town on 32nd street between Broadway and 5th avenue but bc the rent is so high as you can imagine the Manhattan commercial rental rates…the food prices are high unless there’s a sale. It’s not terrible bc it’s definitely not cheap. But if you are in Manhattan and need some authentic Korean grocery items Hmart is the gold standard. Hmart is also known to be very clean and their produce and fruit and vegetables to be washed and presentable and the store is always kept as clean as possible with all that foot traffic so you don’t smell anything bad. Koreans are obsessed about clean and I am not complaining. I really appreciate it. I would rather buy my meat and veggies and fruit from a place that values cleanliness and organization.

I’ve been going here for a couple years now but I just saw they added another Photo Booth in an elevator format. That’s 3 photo booths in total. They accept cash & tap! I love coming here to get drinks or snacks, but also to make memories with friends.

Visited H Mart in Koreatown NYC and had a great time exploring. We had dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant. I tried the candied grapes and strawberries—sweet, crunchy, and totally addictive! I also browsed one of the beauty stores inside with popular TikTok skincare and makeup finds. Perfect spot for Korean snacks, fresh groceries, and trendy beauty picks—all in the heart of Midtown.

Hmart on 32nd street is a ripoff market. I was going to buy a chill flakes that was made in Korean. As you can see the picture on the shelf the label price was $7.99. And when I going to check out the chili flakes, the price came out $26.99. Which was a ridiculous price difference. I told the cashier and he wasn’t polite nor friendly. He told me to speak to the manager. The manager, who can’t speak English and was very rude too. If you goes to Wholefoods or shop rite they will honor the price was showing on the shelf, but not in H mart market. For sure, I will never go back again. I found other Hmart same item and price is lower than 32nd street. Plus Hmart should have a manager, who spoke a better English!
S T — Google review
I think H Mart on 32nd is one of best known Asian supermarkets in the City. They used to be located across the street years ago. Back then it was just a dumpy little place, but packed full of great things. Ahh, dumpy was good back then, in my view. But then they moved across the street and went all upscale. Ok, not really, :). But it’s a lot nicer than it used to be, that’s for sure. It’s much, much bigger and packed with even more things. Being in Koreatown, the overwhelming majority of things are from Korea, but you will find things from all over Asia. They have an upstairs with a small food court and household kitchen items. Nice area up there. Overall, H Mart is a great and convenient place to shop for all types of Asian things. The prices tend to be on the more expensive side, though, even for basic things like ramen or rice. Nonetheless, if you need some Asian oriented ingredients, then this is the place. Recommended!

Yesterday, I happened to be shopping in Manhattan with a friend. I went in to buy some things and happened to see sea urchin. I'd bought some in Flushing before and they were pretty good. I bought a box and when I opened it at home, it was moldy! I threw the moldy ones away and tried other ones, but they were inedible! I've never seen this happen with anything from their supermarket before. I called them, but no one answered! Beware! Don't buy seafood from them because of their poor customer service! The quality is terrible!
Ella C — Google review
I am very disappointed with this H-Mart (Korea Town). They sold me an expired mochi package. I got it from the front display table, so I trusted it was fresh. I didn’t check the date until after I already ate it. Why are they selling and charging customers for expired items? It feels like the store only focuses on money and not on customer safety. This is unacceptable and very careless. Please check your products before selling to people. I bought it on September month. You can check the date (2025/06/26) in the picture. Why are you guys still kept it on the front display table and sold it to customers?

KYURAMEN is a cozy eatery located just a few blocks from the Main Street No. 7 station. The restaurant features wood accents and counter seats, offering a variety of dishes such as noodle soups, gyoza, bao buns, and more. The dining area includes connected booths for up to six people each, resembling luxury train carriages with solid roofs and open sidewalk doors.
If you are an enthusiast of the ramen trend, this establishment is highly recommended. The ambiance is traditional, pristine, and comforting. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was enjoyable, considering the context. We ordered prawns that were fresh and quite sizable. The chicken ramen bowl was satisfying, and the broth was notably flavorful. Additionally, we were served dessert, specifically matcha pudding, which was likely one of the highlights of the menu. However, I did not find the cherry blossom jelly with honey to be to my taste, as I found it somewhat overpowering. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience with friends, and I would certainly consider visiting again.

This location has by far exceed my expectations in flavor for all the food items. I’ve been to the bayside, downtown Brooklyn and Bowery locations. This one takes 1st place in my book. The noodle and broth consistency remains me of the experience I had on a trip I took to Canada. The food is on the same taste buds levels I experienced with my wife on our trip this past august. I highly recommend everyone to come here 👍🏻👍🏻

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Ramen Fans' Secret Place! I accidentally found this ramen shop and it was my favorite from the very first moment. The warm, cozy atmosphere that was the first impression immediately made me ready for a delightful meal. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The prices charged were very affordable, considering the large portions served and the quality. This place is a must for the people who love to enjoy the real Japanese ramen the right way. Big «thank you» — I will for sure come again!

Kyuramen in the East Village is a hidden gem. The service was fast. It seem like a popular spot. We had the popcorn chicken, beef ramen, Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu ramen, a strawberry mint Mojito, and Thai ice tea. My favorite thing was the mango crêpe cake. I would love to try this place again for the variety of food that they have. My boyfriend loves this place.

Stumbled in here late last night, quite blazed, and I was blown away! I ordered the Sapporo Miso Ramen with the pork bun and the thai iced tea. The service was pretty quick, and the atmosphere felt a lot like a traditional ramen shop. The staff was friendly too. Anyways, the food. This was one of my favorite bowls of ramen I've tried in NYC! The broth was rich, creamy, and packed with porky flavor. The savory undertone from the miso pushed it even further into deliciousness, without overpowering any of the subtler flavors or making the broth overly salty. The chashu was absolutely unbelievable, the fatty parts completely melted in my mouth, and the lean was extremely tender, juicy, and flavorful! Easily one of the most tender pieces of chashu I've had, next time I come here I need to order extra! The noodles were also awesome, suuuper chewy and wavy. They retained their bouncy texture really well even after sitting in the hot broth for some time. The wakame and bamboo shoots were nice additions too, adding some textural variety and flavor. I just really think they nailed every aspect of the bowl, nothing felt underwhelming and the synergy of the toppings with the broth was wonderful. The iced tea was sweet, and served as the perfect accompaniment to the rich and savory ramen. The bun was also great, with tender pork and a squishy dough. I can't recommend this place enough, and they're open late too! If you like ramen definitely come try out Kyuramen, I think you'll love it! I'll be back.

Bathtub Gin is a speakeasy-style bar with a 1920s prohibition theme, featuring a hidden entrance through a "front business" facade. The interior is adorned with period decor and offers small plates paired with gin-based cocktails. Guests can enjoy the upscale atmosphere, complete with a brass bathtub for photo ops. While reservations are recommended due to its popularity, visitors can expect good music and ambiance along with the opportunity to witness entertaining burlesque shows on Sundays.
We had an incredible experience here and appreciated Kayla, the bartender. Drinks are crafted with some serious love. The ambiance is 10/10. We loved our gin based drinks and the hummus.

Stop. Put this spot on your list as a must-visit. This is one of my favorite bars in Manhattan. The drinks are on point, the staff is exceptional at everything and the vibe is super chill. The bouncer got us in quickly, we got our drinks in short order and when a table opened up, one of the servers actually came over to us to get us seated (even though we weren't technically waiting for a table!!!). There was a DJ there when we visited, who was excellent. It was busy but never got overcrowded. The cocktails were delicious. Can't wait to go back.

A truly special hidden gem! We stopped by Bathtub Gin before heading to a comedy show, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. From the moment you step through the secret entrance through the coffee shop, you’re transported into a warm, dimly lit space with vintage charm and great energy. We shared a few cocktails, their Charcuterie Board, and the standout Kimchi Croquettes. Perfectly crisp on the outside, with a fried kimchi emulsion and house miso sauce that was chef’s kiss. Every bite was packed with flavor. The co-ed bathrooms and shared sinks add to the unique vibe, and the space itself is both spacious and intimate, making it ideal for a relaxed pre-show meal or late-night drinks. If you love speakeasies, great cocktails, and inventive bites, this is a must-visit spot next time you’re in the city. Highly recommend!

1920s inspired anything is my kind of place so this speakeasy hit the spot for me! I went with a group of coworkers. The food is small bites and all very good. The specialty cocktails were tasty and the staff friendly. The ambience is great and you should definitely stay to watch the burlesque show!

Good speakeasy in NYC, security at the front and the hostess were very nice and welcoming. Live DJ playing on Saturday night was great, he definitely understood the mixed crowd and played the right tunes. Had the old fashioned and espresso martini, will highly recommend both. Food however was a different story, chicken sliders were dry/not fresh and shishito peppers were under cooked. Will return for the cocktails and tunes, not the food.
Sahil B — Google review
I visited Bathtub Gin because a friend wanted to go. Without actively searching for a speakeasy, I wouldn't have expected a bar hidden behind the cafe. They actually serve coffee (though it was closed during my visit), and there was a guard at the entrance, who let us in. Stepping inside, it was a completely different experience from the cafe side. A clear 1920s vibe dominated the theme, and I even spotted an actual bathtub, which I assume is a nod to the prohibition era when alcohol was famously made in bathtubs. They did an excellent job of staying true to this time period, from the newspaper inspired menu and the coasters to even the bathroom, which I'll get to later. We ordered several drinks. While I don't recall what my friends had, I got the Gin Mill Gimlet, which was arguably the best one out of all the drinks (everyone agreed) and one I highly recommend. A lot of my friends, however, weren't fans of their choices; one was too spicy, another tasted too much like medicine, and another was overly syrupy. A significant concern arose when a friend who specifically ordered a mocktail version of the Don’t Take Wooden Nickels was mistakenly served the cocktail version. He started feeling the alcohol kick in, and fortunately he was okay, but it could have been genuinely dangerous for people with serious alcohol allergy. The bathroom was very clean, which was great. However, there was a restroom attendant working outside the stalls, keeping the bathroom tidy. While this was very much on brand for the 1920s speakeasy theme, I personally felt a bit uncomfortable and didn't like that aspect, though I did appreciate the cleanliness. Despite my friends' drink choices not being the best, and facing some issues with the service (specifically the mocktail mix up), I thoroughly enjoyed my Gin Mill Gimlet. I'd be interested in coming back to try other drinks aside from the ones my friends ordered. The food menu items also look appealing, so I may return to try those as well.

I love the vibe and the energy from this Speakeasy. The drinks are always made to perfection and the food never misses. The music is a vibe and the staff are so helpful, accommodating, friendly, and attentive. Ana, the server is the absolute best! I've had really amazing encounters with other servers of course, but I've had more encounters with her and she is phenomenal. The bartenders are so knowledgeable and they make drinks with such grace and fluidity. The manager that was on duty, Henri, is incredibly accommodating as well as friendly. He definitely greets guests with a welcoming smile and is always there to be of service if anything is needed. I would definitely recommend anyone to go here.

Bar
Attaboy is a trendy craft cocktail speakeasy located behind an inconspicuous metal door on the Lower East Side's Eldridge Street. The bar has an industrial-style space and doesn't have a menu, relying on its talented mixologists to create innovative and classic cocktails tailored to each guest's preferences. To secure a seat, it's best to arrive early as Attaboy doesn't take reservations.
We love Attaboy! We'd been here once before and decided to bring my boyfriend's mom. This place does not take reservations and we knew that, so we showed up outside the almost hidden entrance door an hour before opening. Unfortunately, it started pouring down rain 15 minutes before Attaboy opened their door. The staff knew the rain was coming and offered the first few of us umbrellas which was wonderful. However, the umbrellas didn't do anybody any good because it rained so hard. The bar next to Attaboy let us in there to wait until Attaboy opened. I think that bar was called Good Guys and it was a cool place too! All the staff was wonderful at both places. We were worried about who Attaboy was going to let in since we weren't in line anymore, but all the guests waiting in line were accommodating and honest to who was where in line so we got in when they opened. There is no cocktail menu - you tell the bartenders what you like or are in the mood for and they make you a drink! Every drink we've had here was unique and fit to our liking. Your table time is 90 minutes but it's a good amount of time. We love it here!

It was my first time visiting a speakeasy, and Attaboy gave me a pretty great experience. Although we had to wait nearly two hours since they don’t take reservations, it was worth it. The experience is fun and unique — there’s no menu, so you can describe your drink using any words, and the bartender always surprises you with something amazing. There’s no dress code. Each drink we ordered this time was $23. No food is served here, so make sure to eat before you come!

No wait on a Tuesday around 6:30pm. They did well in marching their drinks to the what we were looking for in the descriptions we have them. At the end of the day, the quality of drinks were consistent with other cocktail bars of this caliber, but it’s a must-go as a NYC landmark cocktail bar. Two rounds for two people ended up around $100 total before tip. Service was friendly too!

Easily one of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever been to. There’s no menu, you just tell the bartender what you like and he’ll prepare a custom drink for you. I asked for an Amaretto Sour (which I’m actually really good at making myself) and his version was incredibly good. Lemons were fresh-squeezed and it was perfectly balanced. The person I was with doesn’t drink alcohol so the bartender whipped up a mocktail with ginger and cucumber that was equally amazing. You can tell they actually care about craft and flavor here. Overall the vibe is super lowkey and kind of underground. There was no sign out front. As we were looking for it I saw an old “alterations” sign and a couple stickers on the door that say “please wait to be greeted.” As we walked in, it was dimly lit, cozy, and everyone who works there is chill and down to earth. The whole experience just feels effortless and intentional.
Gus — Google review
Very cool experience and loved the concept of the bartender creating drink based on your preference of spirit and favorite cocktail (I asked for a tequila based drink that was mix of moscow mule and margarita: they created a masterpiece). Drinks were 25$ each and well worth the price. Service was great and ambiance was charming. Great place for birthday drinks !!

Famed nyc cocktail bar, defenitly worth the accolades. I love the no menu style. I’ve been here many many years ago. And have not been able to get in many times 😝, but got super lucky on my laststop in New York. Had some amazing classic style cocktails that were perfectly balanced, and sometimes You get something you didn’t even know you wanted. All of the drinks we had were perfect, the tiki drink was honestly a dead ringer for a Frankie’s (Vegas) cocktail, which is a great think except it’s twice the price 😆. If you can’t get to Vegas go for it though it’s delicious. I would come back again and again, just make sure to get here early. We had to stand which I would do again because you should always feel honored to get in but some people may not enjoy that. We did get a seat after our first cocktail though! Love you guys, keep doing what you’re doing, thanks for the penecillin! (Didn’t get it this time but it’s probably my favorite cocktail!)
Daniel M — Google review
Truly excellent craft cocktails! There’s no menu, so we ordered by describing broadly what types of drinks we like (as well as ordering specific drinks). Every cocktail was amazing - very creative, and it takes a good bartender to make a drink that’s a little bit different than what I described and still somehow exactly what I like. We arrived around 5:20 on a Saturday, and waited around 30mins to get a table - we waited at the place next door (the host took our number so didn’t need to wait outside) and that spot was really cool as well. This was actually our second attempt to visit Attaboy - last time was much later on a Saturday night (maybe around 10-11pm) and at the time the line went all the way down to the street so we didn’t stick around. So I would definitely recommend visiting earlier if possible, as they don’t take reservations.
Millie M — Google review
$30 (with tip) for a Gin & Tonic is absurd!! I wish they made us familiar with the made to order/crafting cocktails concept - we would’ve ordered something unique! We asked the bartender if they had a menu and he said no so we just thought “oh let’s just get G&T” but if they familiarised us with their concept of personalising drinks, we would’ve had a better experience and wouldn’t have minded paying $30 each!

Menkoi Sato is a laid-back eatery known for its chicken-broth ramen and other noodle dishes. The restaurant specializes in Shoyu ramen, a classic style that's a favorite among ramen enthusiasts. Customers rave about the delectable Signature Shoyu Ramen and praise the perfectly springy noodles and rich, soul-warming broth. The curry ramen, with its intense flavor and thick texture, has also garnered high praise.
Such a cool spot!! Workers are very nice and the food comes out fast. The most authentic tasting ramen I’ve had since visiting Japan
Myah C — Google review
Second time coming here over the last 2 years of visiting. First time was better, this time was mid. The shoyu (basic) ramen was waaaaaay too salty, although tasty and yummy. The curry chicken was too spicy and also quite salty! There was a lot of bean sprouts mixed into the noodles, so it feels like you get less noodles versus the other bowls. They do have a policy that it is one order per person at least. So order appetizers if you can’t finish one bowl. They are generous portions. Service amazing and friendly.

Fun atmosphere with lots of benches around the store. Might be hard to grab a spot when it’s busy. Prices are very reasonable and orders come out pretty fast. Ramen was decent — the ingredients didn’t work as well as I expected, but the broth was fine and the portion sizes are very large and filling.

Spacious spot for ramens with a wide variety of options including spicy and curry ramens. Do note the curry ramen is very filling and can be rather hearty so I would prefer it on a cooler day. Service is attentive and helpful.

Super salty. Price is expensive $22 for a bowl of salty ramen. Soup is mediocre and can only taste the saltiness. I literally poured my water into the ramen.

This place is a hidden gem amongst the large number of ramen spots in lower Manhattan. Their style is a nice change of pace from the very carefully crafted tonkotsu bowls that are popular. Seems like they fire everything in a wok and deglaze it with the broth and chosen tare. It's then dumped on a thicker curly yellow noodle to create a giant hot, thick, and delicious mess. The servers are very friendly and accommodating.

This is a small cozy ramen place with 4-5 benches in the seating area. They serve delicious ramen bowls and each category tastes different and unique. The noodles are also very tasty and definitely recommended on a cold winter night. This is a walk in or a take out type of restaurant.

This is now our go to place on Friday nights to get good Japanese food after a busy week at work. Top favorites: Takoyaki, Tonkotsu, Dragon Roll Sushi, Nigori with Sapporo. The staff are great - professional, warm reception, knowledgeable and just overall a great team.

Food is alright. They have cute decorations, so I was intrigued to try it. However, the Tan Tan noodle is slightly disappointing. Broth lacks depth of flavor. It simply tastes spicy and salty. Portion for minced chicken is tiny. Menu is not cheap per se. I guess majority of the price goes to paying rents rather than the quality of food. Good service though, and someone is always available to help.

Went here for a lunch special ($22 full bowl ramen and app). The ramen size (Tonkatsu) is reasonable and gives you two pieces of chashu. The app I got was a 3 piece fried pork gyoza. If you are around the area and craving ramen, worth coming here for lunch.

Really good ramen. The broth has a nice rich aroma. The lunch menu special is a great option. Where you can choose your options. The karage chicken is absolutely delicious, it has a nice crispy crunch but is super moist and juicy on the inside. The Place is really nice.

A hidden gem for good ramen with reasonable price. Different kinds of miso-based soup. 🍜❤️❤️The Mame ramen I got was more on the salty side. The soup was really flavorful with deep tastes and layers. Chashu was good, tempura shrimp was good too. Kome ramen was more on the sweet side which is a classic Hokkaido style with butter taste and corn as topping. This one is slightly lighter.

Place is ok, is very small so there is limited sitting. The food in the other hand was great and the Chicken curry Ramen was delicious. At their 2nd Ave location unfortunately we found a roach behind a friend. As unfortunate as that sound personal didn’t seem to care about it. I was not expecting anything for free but at least some consideration. After this, we felt rushed out and we didn’t really like that.

Ramen shop on 2nd avenue in the east village. The good: - Friendly staff - very good flavors: we ordered the light salt broth, and the curry katsu broth; we both loved our flavors - wide selection of extra toppings and appetizers - very fairly priced The not so good: - really nothing to pick on for me Summary: all in all a very strong ramen shop and I will definitely be coming back to try the other broth flavors

We stopped in on a rainy day today after exploring the city. I had the shio tonkatsu ramen and my partner the red ramen (#12). It was served quickly and we were very satisfied. The miso style broth was flavorful and delicious. It was really my favorite ramen broth I’ve had, truly a great balance of flavors. The minced pork was savory and tender, it paired well. It was a generous portion of toppings and noodles. The woman working was friendly and talked with us about the various miso in detail! She also informed us of the special-pairing a bowl of ramen with sides. It was a generous deal but we are traveling and wouldn’t be able to eat all of it. We couldn’t have asked for anything better on a dreary day. I would dare to say that this locale is underrated. They are not complicating things-just serving good bowls of ramen, and quickly !✌️

Ramen wasn’t that great although the portions were huge. We did ask for a spicy serving but that wasn’t spicy at all. I did like the noodles texture a lot although I have to say it was an average taste place. I have had better Japanese ramen in other places. Staff was friendly and prompt.

Best ramen in town!!!! I left the place stuffed! Ate there at 5pm and was still so full after the walk & trip home- i didn’t need to have dinner! Servers are very corteous and helpful. Clean toilet! What else can you ask for? Oh. Maybe more of those pork buns- yes, yes, yes!!! Heard the line here in the winter time goes right down the block- sorry, they dont take reservations. There’s a reason they have lines people- everything is soooooo good!

The ramen was pretty good here! Less broth than most places, the egg was a little overcooked for my liking, but the seaweed was a nice additional texture. Very quick service and a small and cute place.

Flavorful broth with incredibly fresh vegetables. I ordered the spicy vegetable ramen with a soft boiled egg. Lots of perfect broccoli, Napa cabbage, avocado, bean sprouts, scallions, red and yellow peppers, mushrooms, and onions. The noodles were cooked just right, and everything was really tasty and super-fresh. The spice level was just right. (I wasn't a fan of the pop soundtrack, but at least it wasn't too loud.)
Susan R — Google review
Tourist BEWARE! Service: Don’t know what to say…but long story short, everything was fine until we pay. The staff literally decided our tips for us and asked us pay. Very offended. Food: The broth is a thicker paitan instead of the traditional light ones. Overall taste is really good if you like tons of scallions. I added a flavored egg; the flavor is nice but a bit too salty. Ambiance: small and casual.
Lydia C — Google review
A quiet and relaxing restaurant with a unique theme/design. On one side, you see a typical Japanese izakaya design. On the other, you see a run-of-the-mill Chinese tile back alley design. The services are fast and the waitress is polite. The food is a bit of both good and bad. The curry ramen's broth did not really blend with the curry powder well, making a weird blend. On the other hand, the Firebird Ramen was superb. Spicy, but not overwhelming and maintaining it's flavor. The char siu bao are delicious, although I find it crazy that only one bao is $5. The fried chicken is also good, although it may be too salty for some patron.
Stephen K — Google review
Definitely solid 4 out of 5. Ramen itself very full of flavor, noodles were just the way I like it , perfect thickness , however chicken breast in the ramen was very dry and chewy. Also pulled chicken in the bun was also not the best one. Dark chicken meat is better for buns, more flavor and juice. Over all good spot, but not the greatest.
Eugenia V — Google review
We entered their place on a cold windy night with the hope of having a spicy and warm meal. We were greeted by one server, she was the only server that night. There were two other chefs behind the counter. We ordered spicy and regular vegetarian ramen noodles. Food came very quickly, broth came warm, I wished it would have been slightly hot. What I liked about them was their broth was thin. We loved it, will visit again.

This is one of those places in New York City that if you know you know. The line might be intimidating, but it is absolutely worth it. The DJs are incredible. The drinks are very very good. The crowd is very beautiful. That's the best way I can put it. I would recommend getting here before 10:00 or right after 10:00 to avoid the line. The line truly can be intimidating. Let me just reiterate that but other than that 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone who loves to dance to strictly dance disco funk music.

Place used to be it! Until they brought in the new “door girl” and got rid of the original staff. So unbelievably rude, pick me energy. Also, the same music plays every time. I get it’s about throwbacks, but when I say the order and everything is absolutely the same.. it’s become a place you can’t rely on every weekend & visits need to be spaced out. Try going next door to HiLot, wont disappoint and they actually know how to make a drink!

Great 70/80s dance music with a pretty eclectic crowd committed to have the best time. Energy & service was top notch, (love that water bottles were available at the bar to help yourself) including the security by the door. Drinks were a bit expensive though.

I really wanted to give this place a 5 star review. I saw not so great reviews before I came here, and I was in total awe of the decor and atmosphere when I got there. But, a gin and tonic was $20, and the bartender was rude. My boyfriend asked if he had any suggestions and he said "no, I don't." Then, my friend tried to meet up with us. Because it was after 9:30, she was turned away because she needed a "reservation". We had to go out and grab her, and the bouncer (girl with dark hair and bangs, you need a vibe check) said to her "yeah, you need a reservation after 930. And you never showed me your ID". To the owners of this place, y'all need to take a chill pill and speak with your employees about how to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Ramen Shack, located in Long Island City, is a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts. Despite its modest exterior, Ramen Shack has gained popularity for its rich and delicious broths and quick service.
Amazing ramen from the creator of the ramen burger at Smorgasburg. Today was the last day, but I hope the chef opens up another location soon. Ramen Shack... it may not look great from the outside and I mean you may not even notice it here walking by based on its location, but this establishment serves some GREAT ramen! This place was started by Keizo Shimamoto, who made the the ramen burger popular! He has had the ramen burger going on for years now and decided to open a permanent shop at Long Island City in Queens, a quick walk from the 21st St. stop (first stop into Queens from Manhattan). This spot is very simple, there are not many seats in here (~ 10 total with a handful of bar stool seats and at a table against the wall). The menu is simple here, bowls of ramen and ramen burgers! I have had the pleasure of trying three bowls of ramen here and they were all awesome! First one I tried was The Quiet Storm, named after the famous song by Mobb Deep (even Prodigy decided to visit them). This bowl of ramen is a "rich 13-ingredient broth" with soy sauce tare, pork belly, and spinach, accompanied by thick noodles. You definitely taste the complexity of this bowl and was completely satisfied. Another bowl I tried was a special one made that day, a Green Curry Ramen. This is definitely a unique bowl, and no the ramen itself was not very thick. I felt it had the right combination of green curry taste without it overpowering the dish. Recently, I was able to try a Brooklyn Blend type ramen that used thin noodles and had garlic oil in it. The broth tasted great and the flavors all mixed together very well. As for the ramen burger, my favorite one here is the Fuji Pineapple! The grilled pineapple adds some nice flavor and texture, with me wanting to get more! What is especially great about this establishment is that I can honestly come back here again and again to try different bowls of ramen. Every time I visit here there seems to be a new bowl of ramen to try that Keizo has experimented with. I have seen many different types of tonkotsu, shoyu, paitan and shio ramens available. The names of the many ramen bowls are also very creative. Ramen Shack, you have won me over and I shall make sure to come back soon! Note: Their hours can vary as Keizo does other events such as Smorgasburg (try them there too!). I would definitely say check their Instagram/Facebook page for their hours. It seems sometimes they will close at 3pm, 7pm, or 9pm so make sure you check because you do not want to be disappointed and make a trip to a closed restaurant!

Ramen Shack started out as ramen pop-up shop and they've continued their success at their now permanent location in Long Island City. Their ramen is among the top 5 in the city.

Ramen Shack 屋台 / Go Ramen Go Life, Inc Finally got to check out this spot and it was well worth it even in the rain ! I'm not sure but I guess japan tv was there filming the chef and restaurant. We got the Classic Tonkatsu and the Triple Threat. Wow don't forget the egg, I split the egg and ended up ordering another one. Its a small spot maybe 8-10 seats at best, but it was a quick in and out kind of meal. Next time I'm going try the ramen burger and some of the other ramens! Now the classic tonkatsu was everything you expect, light broth and very flavorful. I liked it a lot even though I got the Triple threat. This was a much richer flavor along with different noodles. I loved the broth so much I drank the rest of the soup right there in front of the staff. I'm not sure why i've waited this long to check out this spot but its a must go repeater ! *** Another visit to Ramen Shack and this time we got to try the OG Ramen Burger which was a real treat! You really need to not waste time taking pictures and eat it right away as the noodle bun will start to degrade as time passes by. The meat was juicy along with the black sauce is a nice kick to finish off the savory flavor of the meat and ramen noodles. We both go the quiet storm and wow that broth was amazing, I pretty much drank the whole bowl and couldn't stopped slurping every bit of it. Don't forget to get their egg! Probably my favorite part about going back! **** back for more and more photos

Best bowl of ramen that I’ve had so far, compared to Chicago, IL and Arlington, TX. The noodles were thick, authentic, and the pork belly was tender. The broth was thick and seasoning was perfect. The ramen burger was mind blown. The sauce in the burger was flavorful. Highly recommend!

Oh man the ramen burger was amazing. I got that and the $5 pork belly with rice plate since the ramen burger isn't "big". The complimentary tea almost tastes just like water but you can't complain... it's free. Food was delicious and the waiter was very patient. The place is small which gives a real Japanese feel. If you've been to Japan you would know. For the anime fans...they do NOT have Naruto's favorite ramen plate in case you're visiting for just that.

Ramen was quite delicious, and their fried chicken was on point! Love the vibe of the restaurant. It was pretty chill inside (mostly due to it being prime Brunch time). They were playing tons of classic 80's rock and alternative vibes. Good stuff overall and the service was great too.

Excellent ramen at a reasonable price. Tori Tantan was great and the Kara Age fried chicken was a good appetizer.

I appreciate any restaurant with seating for lone diners (4 spots). Broth was thicker than I usually like, but veggie tan-tan was still pretty tasty.

Maybe the best ramen I've had in the city. The place looks like a college music venue - big theater lights, a radio show in the back. I really enjoyed the vibe! The food was great. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked vegetables, the right amount of food. This place deserves its place in the NYC spotlight right now.

There are SO many good things about this place!! (And its not closed, went there on Saturday) So first off, I ordered the miso ramen. And it was delicious!! Broth was really good not to salty, the noodles were not bland and were awesome! The pork was flavorful and the broth with the noodles and pork and all the other toppings were amazing! The servers and cooks were EXTREMELY nice! They seemed excited for you to be there and seemed excited to cook your food! The actual area it is in gives a very welcoming and home-y vibe and I love the hand-made signs! The tables are long tables (if that makes sense??) and you get this communal vibe to it. Good job Mew Men!! Honestly, one of the BEST MEALS I have ever had!

I went to the reopening week (same location, different name) and had the Shio ramen. The service is some of the best I had ever had - very attentive, communicative, and informed servers. My ramen had some unique taste elements like saffron threads and crushed black pepper, so the taste seemed Italian charcuterie inspired. The prices here are ludicrously reasonable as well.

Probably best ramen place in town! Service is great, portions are huge, prices are very reasonable! Nice interior design and perfectly selected background music! Popcorn shrimp are mostly recommended!

I'm a fan of Izakaya Mew, and was excited to try their ramen shop. Came for a dinner, had their spicy ground meat ramen and my friend had their milky broth ramen. We also ordered their fried chicken. The noodles were great, my spicy ground meat broth was a little salty, but still delicious, I think i preferred my friends milky broth ramen. The fried chicken was very moist and juicy, although I wished I could dip it in a spicy mayo, they served it with a kind of braised onion compote. Overall the menu was very concise. Not too comprehensive or overloaded, but in a good way.
