Asian Jewels is a bustling venue in Queens that offers a standard selection of dim sum in a large, traditionally decorated space. It's known for serving some of the best dim sum in the city, attracting lively groups of families and friends. The cavernous dining rooms with red-and-gold decor and chandeliers can accommodate large gatherings.
First time dining here tonight after reading their reviews. We order chicken meehoon and soft tofu with veggies. Both dishes tasted great and not too salty. Highly recommend this restaurant!

I had a fun time here with 6 of my pals. Unfortunately we came at 3:33pm, unaware that the carts ended at 3:30. The sign said the dimsun ended at 4:00 not 3:30. We were still able to get dim-sun but just had to order them specifically and wait longer. The dim-sun was pretty tasty, although I would have liked the pork buns more if they had more meat inside. The soup dumplings also didn’t have much soup insight which was a bit disappointing. The tripe was great though. We had a great time but I recommend coming before 3:30pm for the best experience.

Good Chinese food in Flushing! They have a large space with lots of tables for big parties. They also have several private rooms available. The food is pretty standard compared to other restaurants in the area. One thing I didn’t like was that a lot of their sauces tasted similar with a hint of tomato like for the Peking Duck and the Pork Chops. Price was a bit expensive. Service was good. Parking lot with valet in the back, but gets hectic at the end.
Very R — Google review
Nice authentic dim sum experience. There are a lot of options on push carts. Although , a lot of dishes include shrimp which my husband is allergic to so more limited for us. Favorites include the chicken feet, meat and taro wrapped in tofu skin, and coconut pudding. We got there early when they opened around 9 on the weekend, however the kitchen doesn’t open until 10:30 so many things on the dim sum special list weren’t available.
Isabelle J — Google review
So much good dim sum that gets pushed around on carts. Cart ladies can get a bit aggressive but you’ll never lack food options. Service is overall a bit inconsistent and all over the place but you’ll adapt. Egg tarts here were very good.
Rovik R — Google review
We loved the ham sui gok (crispy dumpling), pineapple BBQ pork buns, and the surprisingly good durian mochi! Some items were less exciting though—the tofu pudding lacked flavor, and the congee with century egg and pork was a bit underwhelming. But overall, the experience was great, with friendly service.
J ( — Google review
Decent place to get dim sum. My favorite is the steamed shrimp ball with bits of water chestnut for the light crunch cooked in egg white sauce. Do go early to avoid crowds on weekends.
Alan F — Google review
I came here with a couple of friends for an early dinner on a random saturday. We were seated immediately despite the restaurant being quote busy. Before we even sat down, the servers were already offering us plates—so be prepared to start eating right away! The food itself was delicious and very unique for the american palate. My friends and I particularly liked the siu mai and cheong fun. However the experience can feel overwhelming if you’re not familiar with dim sum.The dishes come around quickly, and it was sometimes hard to understand what the staff were saying due to both the noise level and a language barrier. Some of the items are pictured in the menu, and at the front of the restaurant there’s a complete list of items in both English and Chinese, which is really helpful. The dim sum servers were friendly and never too pushy, which I appreciated. The only downside was trying to flag down a regular waiter for some water. When we finally did get someones attention he was a bit rude and told us to wait though no one brought us water until we asked a different waiter 15 minutes later. Overall, the food makes this place worth visiting. It’s delicious and authentic. Be ready for a fast-paced, lively atmosphere, and maybe brush up on dim sum basics beforehand to make the experience smoother.

Dim sum restaurant
Jing Fong is a renowned Cantonese restaurant that has made a triumphant return to Chinatown with its new Centre Street location. Known for its ultimate dim sum experience, the restaurant offers a variety of Cantonese-style favorites served on roving carts, including siu mai, har gow, spare ribs, BBQ roast pork buns, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, and fried turnip cakes.
There’s something sacred about dim sum that’s made by hand. Each pleat, fold, and tuck carries generations of tradition. And at Jing Fong, nestled in the heart of Chinatown since the 1970s, that tradition is still alive and steaming. They’ve been serving all the dim sum staples, but with one key difference: every dumpling is handmade—not machine-stamped or factory-frozen. A team of 15 seasoned dim sum and kitchen chefs, each with years of muscle memory, shape every har gao and siu mai with practiced precision. On this visit, we ordered the classics: har gao, siu mai, chicken feet, fun gaw, rice rolls, bean curd pork rolls, and spareribs. The beef cheung fun was perfectly rolled (not scraped) silky, slick, and just chewy enough. Each bite delivered that nostalgic, springy bounce. We also had to try the pineapple BBQ pork bun, and it could definitely give Mei Lai Wah a run for its money: fluffy, warm, lightly crisp on top, and stuffed with sweet-savory char siu. The best part? No long line. My favorite was the salted egg yolk bun, served steaming hot, with a rich, golden custard that oozed out in decadent delight. The beef chow fun was textbook wok hei. Smoky, not oily, and gone in minutes. And the salt and pepper squid? Lightly battered, crisp, with just a hint of hot pepper and five-spice. You could tell they used fresh oil by the light, clean color of the fry. We were also recommended the double crispy fried rice, a popular item with a clever spin on tradition. Crunchy, flavorful, and a surprising highlight of the meal. There’s a quiet sadness though. As delicious as everything was, you can’t help but wonder how long this artistry will last. The next generation doesn’t seem eager to learn the craft, and places like Jing Fong are few and far between. I hope the current owner finds a way to preserve both the food and the spirit behind it—because this isn’t just lunch. It’s Hong Kong on a plate. It’s history. And it deserves to stick around.

Very glad to have an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant in UWS. Excellent flavors and wok hey. This shop has the original shop from NYC Chinatown which s very well known. Very enjoyable dim sum, chicken salted fish fried rice and seafood pan fried noodle 👍. So expect UWS pricing😇
M H — Google review
Pretty decent dim sum for the UWS. Spacious and very very kid friendly. There were plenty of families with their strollers and lots of high chairs. There’s an area in the back to park strollers or if you have a sleeping baby, you can park your stroller next to some of the tables. The wait staff are very accommodating. Our son didn’t like sitting in the high chair and the wait staff offered a bar stool for him which was the perfect height since the normal chairs were too short for him. They also went out of their way to entertain him by turning on a cartoon. Or saw that he didn’t have a utensil and offered him a plastic fork. Service was great and they kept coming by to check up on us. Food came out really fast. Presentation was good and taste was flavorful. I would say this is a great place for Cantonese food if you don’t want to make the trek out to Chinatown or Flushing especially with kids. Plus, it’s close to the Children’s Museum and the Natural History Museum. We came on a weekend and only had to wait 5 minutes as we came just before the rush.

Best dumplings EVER!!! Melted in my mouth and the service and atmosphere was top notch, looking forward to a return visit very shortly, few miles walk from Central Park.

#DimsumHeaven #CheungFun #TurnipCake #NYCeats #BetterThanHK #FoodieFinds #CantoneseCuisine Amazing service and food better than Hong Kong- best of each dish I have ever had!!
DrKim — Google review
Guess my previous review got deleted…I’ll try and make this one more, PC. Is this the best dum sum on the UWS? I guess, not like there’s many options. Their dumplings are consistently good. The other options on the UWS are fancier, not as dated but you will pay even more $$$. We mostly order dim sum, Their noodles are also solid but outside of those two areas it’s- hit or miss. Yes, it’s $$$ than Chinatown but it’s the price you pay for not having to leave the neighborhood and still getting decent Cantonese dishes. Destination? Only for those on the westside from the 70s to Inwood. Outdoor dining is available, weather permitting, bring the puppy! Bonus.
Yür M — Google review
The pork chop, cauliflower, and the fried rice noodles are super super super salty. The dim sum items are pretty good! And good thing is that many main dishes come with rice. Service is below expectation. The waitress asked us once throughout the entire dining “how was everything”, but no response to our comment “these two dishes are too salty.”
Frances — Google review
We looked for a good dim sum restaurant before going to the Natural History Museum and found one on Google. However, the food was not exceptional, and nothing really stood out. We have had better dim sum in other places. The service was decent, and so was the atmosphere.

Golden Unicorn is a bustling Cantonese restaurant in Chinatown, NYC, known for its wide variety of meticulously crafted dim sum. The restaurant's multi-floor space allows for a parade of steaming carts brimming with treats to navigate efficiently. It's recommended to arrive early to secure a seat by the kitchen for better variety and hotter items. The elegant ambiance and stunning views add to the dining experience, making it popular among locals and visitors alike.
Amazing experience, good food, good people, good atmosphere. Would absolutely come again. The flavors were amazing. The bathroom is gender neutral. The rotating tables come in really handy for large groups of people. Plenty of options available on the menu for everyone.
Sebastien S — Google review
Golden Unicorn is one of the few restaurants still doing cart service for dim sum. I'll be honest as a non-Chinese Asian person, I usually avoid these kind of places because I feel a little bit at the mercy of the cart ladies. It's exactly this way here, but it does make it fun. And the experience is more about the fun than the food. The dim sum is ok. Not super hot sometimes, but it happens...it's getting wheeled around the dining room. My usual faves at dim sum are basic - har gow (we did have a pretty good shrimp dumpling, but not sure if it was har gow), sui mai (solid) and turnip cake (not very good - not fried enough so lacked the crispy end bits. The service is what you expect and I don't mind it, but if you're unsure...service is pretty businesslike without a lot of niceties. There are better dim sum restaurants around, but still fun. If you're going for food...I would head to Sunset Park or Flushing.
Lisa W — Google review
Golden Unicorn is very mediocre. And super expensive. I used the Google reviews to pick the restaurant, but I don't agree this restaurant deserves 4 stars. There are tons of better Dim Sum spots in Chinatown. The room is super loud and the environment is chaotic. Definitely not a spot to chill for lunch. The food was plain and not tasty. Pretty much zero service- you have to raise your hand to get any server's attention. The other tables were literally screaming at the servers. The price is outrageous for Chinatown. I would never recommend this restaurant to others.
Edward B — Google review
Very delicious dim sum. Served in an authentic way, with carts around. We got a bunch of small dishes to share and they’re absolutely delicious. Our favorite is the durian dessert 冰皮榴莲, so creamy and fresh. Apparently they make it fresh everyday so they didn’t have it when we first asked for it. The leek dumplings are so good! Lots of ingredients like shrimp, egg and lotus root. Beef tripe with turnip is so refreshing paired up with the chili spicy oil. The tofu wrap is so tasty. Porridge’s absolutely amazing. You can tell it’s freshly cooked and prepared with lots of time. When it comes to the sticky rice dishes, I prefer the pearl one more because it’s softer and with more kinds proteins. The other one is just so plain and rice is dry. Popular place and friendly service!
Sy W — Google review
Been here when studying in East coast long while ago and thus want to revisit. Love the interior and spacious seating and of cause the food carts pushing around the tables for you to choose are much fun and missed, most dim sum restaurants not offer the food carts nowadays, even in Asian countries. Food are delicious generally, we enjoyed a lot on all dim sum dishes. We had brunch on a weekday and thus no wait time. However, the second want to revisit on a weekend lunch time, we had waited almost an hour downstairs outside the elevator and still so crowded. Had to change to another nearby dim sum restaurant after an hour wait. Recommend to go on weekdays or go earlier over weekends and prepare for long wait.
Tan T — Google review
One thing I like about Golden Unicorn is how reliable it is. I mean, I've been coming here occasionally for 15+ years, and I never had an experience that was less than good. This bi-level Chinatown classic is located in the less touristic side of Chinatown east of Bowery. Because of that, lines here may be less crazy than at other dim sum places. It doesn't mean that there won't be a line, but if you arrive here no later than 12 noon your chances of scoring a table in a reasonable timeframe are higher than at other places. On a recent visit on a Saturday we arrived at 12 noon and our party of 3 was seated immediately As always, part of the fun of dim sum is ordering like there's no tomorrow and sampling as many different things as your stomach can handle. All the dim sum dishes were delicious. The only dish I did not particularly like were the xiao long bao/soup dumplings; then again, maybe this is not a dish you necessary order at a dim sum place. Being on the fancier side of dim sum, prices are higher than at other dim sum places, but still very affordable. Unlike most dim sum restaurants, dim sum here is also served at dinner, although I've only been here for lunch.
Matteo R — Google review
The restaurant decor was elegant and traditional. There were cart services, which was so cool, and there was so much to try. We had to be mindful, not to eat too much all at once. I liked the egg custard, which was soft and lightly sweet. The mushroom and tufu dish were unbelievably savoury.
Hazel V — Google review
My first DimSum experience, but definitely one that is going to be hard to beat. The place is extremely crowded, full of real Chinese people so you know it's good. Prices are ok for new York standards, 45usd including tax and 20% tip. For a Sunday, arriving at around noon, the wait is totally bearable, around 15/20 minutes for 4 people.

East Harbor Seafood Palace is a bustling and spacious Chinese eatery in Brooklyn, known for its freshly prepared dim sum favorites. Despite its size, the restaurant often has a wait for tables due to its popularity. The steamer carts move quickly through the hangar-like dining room, offering a wide range of classic dim sum dishes like siu mai, soy-braised chicken feet, duck tongue, and beef tendon. It's recommended to arrive early or be prepared to wait for a table.
Arrived at 10:55AM on a Sunday and got my party of four seated at 11:20AM. Super authentic Cantonese dimsum with the carts going around. The variety and portions are great! Shrimp dumplings, sticky rice, spring rolls, steamed rice rolls, pork buns, radish cake and tofu pudding just to name a few.
Carlo L — Google review
Food is good, can’t say great. Long wait at Sunday morning after 10. Not worth the wait to be honest. Like many other Chinese dim sum place, many people waiting to be seated stuck at the entrance near dining area. Better lower your expectation toward service and atmosphere.
CS N — Google review
Went on Sat at 9:20 am and got the last open table in the main area available. Good dim sum (steamed rice with chicken feet and spare rib) gone fast. The BBQ pork bun topping was not the best this round but the flaky BBQ is exceptional. Better get there if you don’t wanted to wait for dim sum.
Benjamin S — Google review
I had a really disappointing experience here. The waitress that served us was very pushy—she kept trying to upsell us to the most expensive dishes. On top of that, she spoke my hometown dialect and constantly interrupted our family conversation, which felt extremely rude and unprofessional. The presentation of the dishes looked nice, but the flavors were nowhere near what they used to be. It really seems like they’ve changed the chef. The Vancouver Crab Lotus Leaf Rice was especially awful—the sticky rice was far too greasy and completely lacked any lotus leaf aroma. Considering the high prices, the overall quality was very poor. Definitely not coming back.
Huifen L — Google review
I’ve been here a few times on both weekends and weekdays. Weekends are great if you want the classic dim sum cart experience but are busier with wait times and more crowding. Weekdays are better if you’re looking for a casual dinner. The dim sum, fresh seafood, and crab fried rice are all delicious and I will come back for them. Steak based dishes have been hit or miss for me. Definitely recommend coming here for the experience.
Nicole M — Google review
went for dinner at 6:30 on a sunday. we had one of the alaskan king crabs split into 3 dishes plus a few other dishes (noodles, beef, chinese broccoli). every dish was amazing and flavorful, exactly enough for 8 people. super fast service, impressive pricing imo

My TOP 10 in Brooklyn. BYOB option… 🥇🥇 Definitely some of the best dim sum in the east coast. The phoenix claws & shrimp dumplings are mandatory! It’s always busy so you know the food is fresh. Avoid weekends unless you come early otherwise expect 30-45 minutes wait time. Limited Valet parking based on availability. Can park bicycle inside the garage. 👍👍 Elevate your dining experience. Go big & get the 8 lbs king crab 🦀 🦀 update: Another great evening with buddy for the 10 lbs crab (a 3 course meal in itself ). Complemented with an Austin Hope from Paso Robles, CA. $800 dinner tab for 2 is a first for me. Highly recommended 😉😉

Pings is a popular Cantonese seafood restaurant located in Chinatown. The restaurant is known for its fresh seafood, which is plucked from tanks right in front of the customers. The traditional communal seating allows both regulars and tourists to enjoy their favorite dim sum dishes together. One of the recommended dishes is the steamed oysters with XO sauce, a spicy sauce made of dried shrimp, garlic, and scallops.
My family’s been coming here for dim sum and big family dinners forever, but I had no idea they were hiding a secret menu. It includes my favorite shrimp lava toast, salted baked chicken, razor clams, XO-sauce oysters, and more. While the prices are on the higher side, you’re guaranteed some of the most authentic Hong Kong favorites. Their attention to detail is insane, like even the radish in the beef brisket pot was perfectly cut into uniform pieces! For the best value, we usually go for their banquet dishes over dim sum. *Ping’s Signature Roast Pork 炭燒叉燒皇 $26.95 ** Sure, you can get char siu for cheaper elsewhere. But the quality here is on another level. It was almost comparable to my favorite char siu from michelin star restaurant in HK. It melted in my mouth, with the perfect lean-to-fat ratio. The glaze was done just right,, not overly sweet or salty. *Soft & Crunchy Crab Meat Fried Rice 珠翠雙昇炒飯 $26.95 ** Ngl this might be the best fried rice in my life. I’ve never had “crispy” fried rice like this. Each grain was glistening on the plate. The portion was generous and packed with crab meat. *Shrimp Lava Toast 流心蝦多士 $9.95/pc * I dm-ed them to reserve two days ahead. It was a deep-fried toast, topped with shrimp paste and a whole jumbo shrimp. When I had a bite, the half-melted cheddar cheese oozed out. Super meaty, crunchy, and satisfying. *Lobster E-fu Noodle 石燒龍蝦伊麵 $55 No canto banquet is complete without lobster yi mein. We could barely see the noodles under all that lobster meat. The gravy was quite thick, but it clung to every strand nicely. *Beef Brisket in Broth 清湯牛坑腩 $49.99 It was loaded with beef brisket, and you could tell they used a premium cut just from the tender texture. Just a note that their servers are really friendly and patient. That’s also a reason that keeps us coming back.

Really solid Cantonese spot. Loved the fish filets eggplant and this mushroom vegetable mix. Strong flavors without feeling too heavy. Dim sum items were just alright. Wish the cha siu buns were more filling. Setting is a bit loud which might be to be expected in Chinatown. Service was sharp and attentive. Overall good experience!

This Mid-Autumn Festival, the squad and I decided to let our inner fobs out and feast it up in Chinatown. Ping's was everything we were looking for: old-school Cantonese dishes with old-school Cantonese hospitality. That means large portions, thick sauces and COMPLIMENTARY dessert soups (#IYKYK). The only thing missing was the complimentary big bowl soup starter, but I get that in these inflationary times, any freebie is a treat. Word of warning: None of the actual dishes look as artful as the pictures in the menu, but they're still good for the most part. We started with the Crispy Barbecued Quail, which was roasted to perfection with plenty of jiu yim (spiced salt) for dipping. The Yin Yang Fish, which sadly was not arranged yin yang-style a la the menu photo, was still scrumptious, featuring melt-in-your-mouth poached fish pieces across from melt-in-your-mouth fried fish pieces, with some greens in between playing referee. The Half Crispy Fried Chicken in Garlic Flavor was a bit dry, but the skin was perfect. And our Ginger Scallion Lobster over Vermicelli was everything we were craving that night, with plenty of carbs to soak up all that flavor. And that aforementioned complimentary dessert soup? It was red bean soup with sago pearls, a combination of two of my favorite Chinese dessert soups. Winner winner, autumn dinner.
Josephine L — Google review
We happened to walk-in for dinner at just the right time, we were escorted to a nice table near the front (Ping’s is narrow and long and can hold a lot of diners.) Five minutes later, the entire restaurant was packed! What we observed - multi-generations in small groups really enjoying a nice dinner in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We had a hard time deciding from their menu (everything looked so good) but settled on the tofu with shrimp appetizer, stir fry manila clams in a black bean sauce, and whole lobster braised with soft noodles & veggie (we decided on the lobster over the soft shell crab after seeing the dish go by for a table near us.) The lobster 🦞 was delicious! And the noodles!!! They seemed very fresh, maybe house made?, soooo delicious, and li handmade fresh Italian pasta we haven’t really experienced in NYC Chinese cuisine. We ate every bit of the lobster and savored the noodles too. The clams were fresh, very tasty, arrived beautifully displayed and the tofu!!! crispy outside and silk soft on the inside and hot! tofu so silky, we had a hard time grasping with our chopsticks 🥢 We loved every bite of dinner and all of the ambience around and seeing the dim sum served around us! The only aspect of Pings that we didn’t love were the wine menu prices. We have enjoyed several selections on their list at various price points - like the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc - retails for $12-15 and at restaurants for $25-35. Pings price was $48 and if we brought our own bottle there was a corkage fee (not all Chinatown restaurants charge a corkage fee although many other NYC restaurants do.) We know wine is marked up but knowing that particular wine price point allowed us to know their mark up which left us feeling like we didn’t want a $12 wine but paying $50 with our dinner… This isn’t really a dealbreaker for us - we loved our dinner and would definitely go back - but we didn’t have wine with dinner and we have had good food nearby with similar wine at better prices. If you want a nice Chinatown dinner, with high quality food and service - Pings is a great place for dinner ❤️ without wine.

Had a really great meal at Ping’s. A few dishes stood out to me and made the experience memorable. We tried the soy-braised squab, which you need to pre-order a day in advance. It’s fresh (never frozen), and the sauce it’s braised in has been developed over decades. The flavor was deep and layered, definitely something you don’t find everywhere. The fried rice had a mix of crispy and soft grains and that texture made it pretty addictive. The Gwo Zing Zung (a type of Cantonese joong) was probably my personal favorite: hearty, fragrant and comforting, it reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking. The beef short ribs in the stone pot were also great. The pot kept the meat warm for a long time, so even as we ate slowly, it stayed flavorful and tender. The lobster E-Fu noodles had a unique texture since the noodles are flown in from Hong Kong, and the shrimp roe on them was a nice touch. We also ordered dim sum, which Ping’s is well-known for. Everything was clearly handmade and fresh. The steamed sponge cake (Ma Lai Go) to the rice rolls and even the steamed oyster with XO sauce. You can tell there’s a lot of experience and consistency in the way they prepare dim sum here. Overall, the food was thoughtful, with a lot of tradition behind it. If you’re into trying classic Cantonese dishes with care put into them, Ping’s is worth visiting.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ping’s — The Best Chinese Food in Chinatown, NYC! 📍 22 Mott Street, New York City October 2025 After my first visit to Ping’s in July — where I shared a review that reached over 80,000 views — I knew I had to return to see if the experience was just as incredible the second time around. Spoiler alert: it absolutely was! This time, my entire family joined me for lunch, and two days later, my wife and I came back again for dinner. Both visits were nothing short of exceptional. The staff treated us like family, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable — even helping us get a perfect table in the center of the restaurant. Their warmth and hospitality are just as impressive as the food itself. During lunch, we sampled 10 different Dim Sum dishes straight from the cart, along with the famous Beef in the Stone Pot and Crispy Squid — each dish bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. For dinner, we couldn’t resist ordering the Beef in the Stone Pot and Crispy Squid again (yes, they’re that good), and this time we added Wonton Soup and Shrimp Dumplings. Every bite delivered that same rich, authentic flavor that makes Ping’s stand out from the rest. From start to finish, the presentation, taste, and service were all Five-Star Quality. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the level of craftsmanship and care that go into every dish. If you’re looking for Best in Class Chinese cuisine in New York City — Ping’s at 22 Mott Street is the real deal. Whether it’s Dim Sum, seafood, or a full dinner, Ping’s delivers unmatched flavor and consistency that earns its title as the BEST in Chinatown and the BEST in NYC. July 2025 If you are in or visiting Chinatown in New York City , you MUST go to “Ping’s” at 22 Mott’s Street. The food is AUTHENTIC, the service was AWESOME and the food was AMAZING. For that reason, I give them an “A”. The BEEF RIBS in the STONE POT is one of the BEAT MEALS that ever had. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Tea was delicious. Under seasoned food, and found these three to be quite bland. Chive Pot stickers, beef shumai, crab crispy fried rice, the bok choy was very garlicky and the beef with ginger and lemongrass was better, although it had many large chunks of ginger stir fried. No parking per se, ez walk to the q. Serving staff very nice.

Been coming here since 2018 and I always have the best food and cultural experience here. There are many Cantonese restaurants in Chinatown, many of them are tourist oriented, and some are too noisy for me. This place is not only authentic but with great service. I highly recommend. Yum, Yum…. Happy belly, big smile and happy vibes.

Nom Wah Tea Parlor is a vintage dim sum parlor that has been around since 1920, offering a variety of drinks including tea, beer, and wine. This iconic NYC spot is known for its Cantonese-style dishes such as dumplings, rice noodle rolls, pork buns, turnip cakes, and more. While it used to feature traditional dim sum carts rolling through the dining room, it now offers an ala carte menu.
this place is great. I do have to say the wait to get in is not ideal and I think you can get great dim sum at many places in Chinatown. maybe even better than here. the egg rolls are very interesting a soft creamy center wrapped in thin egg and tossed in batter and fried. I loved them but not for everyone. also loved the shrimp and onion shu mai. pan fried dumplings were great as well.

We’ve visited this restaurant multiple times and we love it! It’s one of the best dim sum restaurants in New York City. Our favorites are the Roast Pork Bun, Scallion Pancakes, Spring Rolls, Shrimp and Bacon Rolls. While it can get busy with a long waiting line, the food is served incredibly quickly. Love the old diner-style ambiance and decor. There’s plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend dining here!

All of these food and it was $23/person (tip included!!) We got there early so there was no waiting at all. Highly recommend the Sui Mai, House Special Roast Pork Bun, Shrimp & Snow Pea Leaf!! Great comfort food and dont forget to get some tea! Will definitely come back for good casual food:)

Great vibes and yummy dim sum! My favorite were the soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings. Excellent value for the price, just make sure you have cash :) Beautiful interior and they served us very quickly.

I stopped by Nom Wah Tea Parlor and tried the shrimp shumai, shrimp rice noodle rolls, shrimp ha gow, and pork soup dumplings. Overall, everything tasted good—fresh shrimp flavor and satisfying fillings. The only downside was that the dough on most items was a bit thick and slightly hard, so the texture wasn’t as delicate as I expected. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size, and the old-school vibe of the place is really charming.
Mimi C — Google review
I understand why this place had such a long wait line as soon as I got to taste the food. The rice roll is my favorite, soft and had the perfect texture. The dumplings are surprisingly big! You get a really good value for the money you spend here. The only item I felt was subpar was the egg roll, it didn’t have enough salt/savory/umami for my tastes. Everything else was very good and well-balanced between sweet and savory. I would personally bring +$60 of cash per person, since their payment options are limited. Also, space is limited, I was very lucky to come here on my own and get in quickly. I would only eat in a group of 4, at maximum, if I had to eat in a group.
Sandy L — Google review
Came here with a buddy of mine on a Wednesday and didn’t wait in line very long. The food itself was good but nothing super amazing. The food came out quick but was very tasty. We ordered a bunch of different dimples and noddles. I’ll def be back. It feels like you been transported back in time and the vibe inside was fun!

Food at this establishment is phenomenal. I'm addicted to those fried sesame balls...literally. This restaurant gets packed out on the weekends due to high foot traffic and sometimes language barrier can be an issue, but the food makes up for that. Must try.

Dim Sum Go Go is a popular Chinese restaurant known for its extensive dim sum menu. Unlike traditional dim sum places, this spot offers dishes from a menu rather than pushing carts around. The Cantonese fare and dim sum here are highly praised, with favorites like sweet shrimp in dark soy sauce and plump snow pea leaf dumplings with ginger and garlic. Despite the slightly higher prices, patrons find the quality well worth it.
We tried a variety of dishes including the shrimp dumplings, pork siu mai, and veggie dumplings — each one delicately wrapped and perfectly steamed. The dim sum tasting platter is a great way to sample their best offerings, and the dipping sauces added the perfect kick. Whether you’re a longtime dim sum fan or trying it for the first time, this spot offers a satisfying, elevated take on the classic experience. Highlights: • Made-to-order dim sum (no carts) with fresh ingredients • Elegant presentation with modern twist • Dim sum tasting platter is a must-try • Clean, comfortable dining space — great for groups • Friendly service and fast turnaround

No nonsense place to get brilliant dim sum. We had just checked into our hotel and wanted quick food and dumplings were the perfect option. This place was highly rated for dim sum and we can see why. Very authentic good price and lots of variety. Food came out very quickly and we got stuck in straight away. Service was efficient, seemed al little annoyed when I asked for more dipping sauce. When we were asked if we wanted anything else I said I wasn’t sure they wanted an answer and basically gave us the bill straight away. Really high quality food for anyone wanting authentic food. They take card payment too. Recommend pork and shrimp steamed dumplings and the duck steamed dumplings.

We had a huge party of about 18 people and the staff took amazing care of us. We ordered a lot of food and it came out super fast. We pretty much ordered every item on the dimsum menu and loved everything. The surprising thing that I didn't think I would like was the tripe. It was tender and full of flavor. If you want something authentic at a reasonable price, this is the place to go.

Had a great experience here - delicious, fresh, and quick service. Didn't have cash on me to hit up some of my usual dumpling spots and it was pouring outside so wanted somewhere to sit and unwind. We were seated right away on a busy Sunday and our food came out hot and quick. Great dumpling texture and flavor, delicious pork buns and loved the pumpkin cakes.

We came to visit Chinatown on a hot summer day, after a long walk in the sun, and we were looking for a proper sit-down restaurant with air conditioning and clean restrooms — somewhere comfortable to relax for a bit. We saw this place had great reviews on Google Maps, so we decided to give it a try. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was air-conditioned and had clean restrooms, which was exactly what we needed. It was also really nice to see that a couple was allowed in with their dog — a pet-friendly touch we appreciated. The dim sum I loved most was the curry beef — it was my first time trying that flavor and it was wow. We also had a beef and stir-fried vegetable dish that was amazing — the meat was tender and fresh, and the vegetables were crisp and flavorful. Highly recommend stopping by! Even though it’s not right on the main Chinatown street, it’s definitely worth the short walk.

I visited this place after seeing a walking tour guide in Google. After a bit of a walk, we were hungry and in need of fried rice! Dimsum Go Go did not disappoint! Coming from Asia, the tastes were really authentic! Love the dimsum were a bomb! We love it!

As you can see, we ordered 2 vegetables dishes and 1 noodle dish. On the menu clearly says that the vegetables dishes come with white rice. When I ask for the rice, they want to charge me $2/ bowl. When I told them it's free, they told me it's lunch special. I told them that the menu didn't state it is for lunch special. Then they told me it's for to go. I told them show me where on the menu state it is for to go. They then whisper to each other and say give him the big bowl for the both of them. They came back with a small bowl full to the top. I asked for an empty bowl so I can split it.

Dim Sum Go Go is a fantastic place to go to if you’re planning to eat dim sum in Chinatown! Although the location is a bit farther than the usual dim sum parlors in central Chinatown. The food is quite good as always and our waiter was attentive, showing those who didn’t know how to use chopsticks use chopsticks. The pan fried pork dumplings were the most popular dish at our table.

Dim Sum Palace is a popular restaurant located on 46th Street, offering a wide selection of dim sum favorites and classic Chinese dishes. The menu features an array of dumplings and soup dumplings that are skillfully prepared by the chefs, ensuring a memorable dining experience. The restaurant follows a Hong Kong style service where plates are meant to be shared among groups, creating a communal dining experience. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior of Dim Sum Palace offers a pleasant surprise with its cozy atmosphere.
Had some craving for dim sum and DimSum Palace just perfectly fit the bill. Parties 5 and up need reservations to guarantee a table. Less can walk in, but I've seen the place with a line outside. So roll of the dice. We were lucky when we decided to go. Got seated right away. The menu for dim sim was huge. You order from a menu sheet that has pictures of what you're ordering. Noice touch. The regular menu was just as big and boy, did we order quite a few items and, as a dim sum officionado, I can say everything was soooo good. Prices were typical for Ney York. Quick, no nonsense service. Will definitely return whenever I go back to NYC. Photos to follow.

Great and pretty authentic dim sum. Great pictures on the menu that allows for easy picking. I highly recommend the soup dumplings. We went for the sidewalk seating and it was a lovely experience. Service was quick and polite. Dishes delivered quickly. However, they forgot one dish for us. They quickly brought it out for us though when we pointed out. Nice and clean bathrooms. 5% discount if you use cash. Nice.

We had such a wonderful experience at Dim Sum Palace! A big thank you to Kevin and Wilson for being so kind and attentive to our family — you truly made us feel welcome. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

My recent dinner at Dim Sum Palace was truly outstanding. The quality and flavor of every dish easily set this restaurant apart. This is certainly a highlight among New York's dim sum offerings. Beyond the incredible food, the service was noteworthy. Our server, Sing, provided great service throughout. He was professional, highly attentive, and ensured a seamless, enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. I highly recommend Dim Sum Palace to anyone seeking both top-tier food and impeccable service. We will definitely be returning.

Visited with family and had a mixed experience. It took quite a while for anyone to bring us water, and when it finally came, there was residue floating in some glasses and no ice in others. The dim sum took a long time to come out and arrived one item at a time, which made the meal feel disjointed. Some highlights: the boiled short rib was very flavorful, the green tea was nice and comforting, and the congee with thousand-year-old egg was well done. On the downside, the shrimp rice noodle roll was sloppily rolled and lacked the usual finesse. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but the slow service and inconsistencies bring it down to a 3-star for us.

We had a group of 8 and surprisingly got a table in the back no wait! We thoroughly enjoyed having the turn table to be able to share all the different appetizers and entrees we tried. I had my first soup dumplings here and they were delightful. The staff was beyond helpful and attentive. We were served very quickly. Food was hot, seasoned well, and just delish! I plan on returning anytime I'm in the area. I only got one picture because we were enjoying the moment and it was just a wonderful experience that we will remember forever.

Dim Sum Palace – West 46th Street, NYC We stopped by Dim Sum Palace on West 46th Street and were really impressed—especially by the vegetarian dim sum platter, which came with a great variety of dumplings that were light, flavorful, and perfectly steamed. The scallion pancakes were crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with that rich, savory scallion flavor. We also had the spring rolls, which were golden, crunchy, and not at all greasy. The restaurant has a nice, clean interior with a relaxed, slightly upscale feel, and it’s open late, which is a huge plus in Midtown. Loved the amount of vegetarian options on the menu—definitely a great spot for plant-based dim sum lovers!

Tim Ho Wan East Village is a renowned branch of the Hong Kong-based dim sum chain, offering made-to-order delicacies such as BBQ pork buns, steamed rice rolls, and pan-fried turnip cakes. The restaurant's congee with pork and preserved egg is a popular choice, while desserts like pan-fried mochi and sweet taro cream are also available.
Tim Ho Wan is my all-time favorite dim sum spot! Whenever I crave dim sum, this is always my first choice. The prices are super affordable, and the variety lets you try a little bit of everything. Portions are just right for sharing or sampling multiple dishes, and everything comes out fresh and flavorful. It’s casual, quick, and consistently satisfying — perfect for a dim sum fix without breaking the bank.

Hidden Manhattan Eats: Tim Ho Wan 📍85 4th Ave NY Tried out Tim Ho Wan 🥟✨the famous dim sum spot known as one of the most affordable Michelin-starred restaurants in the world. I went in ready for a dim sum feast and ordered their signature baked BBQ pork buns and some deep fried dumplings. The pork buns? Soft, pillowy, with this sweet crackly crust on top that threw me off at first… but the savory caramelized pork filling balanced it out. Not bad, kinda grew on me. 👌🏽 But the fried dumplings… y’all. They were sweet inside. I wasn’t ready for that at all, and honestly it ruined the vibe for me 😩. Like, are sweet dumplings a traditional thing? Or did I just order wrong? If you’ve been to Tim Ho Wan, drop your recs — what’s good here, what should I try next time? Because I’m still curious, but that dumpling situation… nah.

Overall: A huge disappointment Ambience: outdated decor, but very good for solo lunch, quite a few tables are solo diners Service: not the waiter’s fault but the cheap plastic green chopsticks are a mode killer… Food: Huge disappointment: everything screamed previously frozen. The classic chicken feet is barely cooked (the traditional dim sum chicken feet should be so soft they melts in your mouth). The coffee and milk tea is very mediocre as well. The only redeeming dish is BBQ pork bun. Honestly don’t know how this shop can make it so far in the competitive food scene of New York City. Will never come back for sure.

Why is this place so underrated? Situated in Manhattan, East Village, this place is a must go when you’re in the neighborhood. It’s probably my third visit in the last five years and everytime I come back I leave happy after having the meal there. The food is really good and don’t get me wrong - it’s not just me but also my Chinese friend who knows her cuisine. Try it for yourself. What I love the most is Baked BBQ Pork Buns, they are to die for. The service was very professional.

Solid dim sum place if you cannot make it to Chinatown. Some of their bites needed a little bit of seasoning but nothing that their chili oil and sauces couldn’t fix. I generally liked it and I’d go back. Their lychee hot tea was awesome. They were also pretty quick to serve up the dim sum.

Midday on a weekend, I was able to get in. No line or wait. It was an impulse. The service was quick, friendly and when you asked the staff what item you were receiving, they kindly explained the dish. Certain dishes were exceptional. Bao buns wow. There were items I did not enjoy but I cannot rate low due to a limited dataset associated with similar items. Recommend for sure. Try as many things as you can.

Weekday evening walked in no wait time. With the expectation of Hong Kong’s popular dim sum restaurant which I have been eating many times in Hong Kong, this first time visit of dishes is quite disappointed. Only the Steamed rice with Minced Beef is just ok, taste of Pork wonton in spicy sauce and Pan fried noodles are way below regular Chinese restaurants you can get in Chinatown. Price seems not justified with the taste and quality of food, may not visit again.

White Bear is a compact Chinese eatery known for its spicy homemade wontons. It's a popular spot in Flushing, New York, and has garnered praise from various sources. The signature dish, Wontons with Hot Sauce (Number 6), is highly recommended and celebrated for its diverse textures and bold flavors. While the menu offers a variety of options, the Number 6 is often suggested by the staff due to its popularity.
The number six!! So good! 10 flavorful chili dumplings for 10 bucks. Great deal. Eat it in the street. Or in the park down the block, since there is no seating at this walk-up window. Definitely worth it. My wife got the number 17. Which she enjoyed. But maybe not as much as my 6.
Carl T — Google review
I used to come to this place before the hype in 2015 and dumplings were good. I went recently and decided to try their noodles and was so disappointed. It tastes like something I can make at my house. Boil noodles and add chili sauce on top. Worst part is they charge you $10 for a half empty bowl, they don't even fill up the bowl with noodles. I do not recommend getting the noodles here. In the picture is half eaten noodles but there were barely any to begin with. It's worth $5 at most.
Christine V — Google review
A good place to grab a quick bite in Flushing! It is only take out now. I ordered the #6 Wontons with chili oil. It is a good portion for the price, only $10, cash only. I wish there was a little more meat in them than dough, but still good. Sauce isn’t too spicy, it’s just right.
Elizabeth P — Google review
We stopped by for their popular chili wontons, and they lived up to the hype. The wontons had a nice balance of tender wrapper and well-seasoned meat, and the portion was generous for the price—like many Chinatown stalls, it’s a great value, $10 for 12 wontons. Bring cash! The chili-onion sauce was delicious: flavorful, a little kick but not overpowering, and it tied everything together perfectly. This is more of a take-and-go spot than a sit-down, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving something quick and satisfying.

Cash only. Takeout only. But the wontons are worth it (nr 6)! Absolute fire! Also had their dan dan noodles, which are not traditional sichuan style, but more northern. Can also fully recommend!

We had the chance to explore Flushing for some great food and decided to start with White Bear. We went with their most recommended dish—the wontons with chili oil. The portion was generous, and the spice level was perfectly balanced. The wontons themselves were incredibly flavorful and packed with filling. We shared one order among our group, but it was so good we were tempted to go back for another!
Hannah — Google review
Ordered #6 wonton chili oil. While it looks decent, as an asian there was no flavor nor was it spicy. If you want good wonton chili oil, I highly suggest to go somewhere else! Too much hype for something way below mediocre.
Jennifer L — Google review
Small portion, good flavor. I waited 10 minutes with only 4 orders in front of me and they didn't have dumplings, so I ordered the wontons everyone orders. The food was fine if you are in the area, but nothing special, so in my opinion it's not worth standing in line, and much less taking a trip to Flushing just for this.

This is by far my favorite Dim Sum Restaurant in NYC. Even when packed we rarely wait long if at all. Extravagant & remarkable 🥇🥇 Invited to partake in a fanciful dinner for 8 inside a vip room. The venue itself exudes a bit of grandiosity as you walk past chandeliers & exquisite murals. This is a popular spot for dim sum on weekends but also a favorite for dinner celebrations. Our Caymus 2015 vintage from Napa Valley exploded us with delight after it was decanted for 30 minutes. PROS 1) dazzlingly entrees 2) upscale dining in vip rooms available 3) fresh ingredients & high quality 4) BYOB 5) very accommodating in all aspects CONS 1) the staff could have checked on our needs more often

Went here for a wedding this past weekend. The food was DELICIOUS! Oh man, I think I'm still full. The servers were incredibly attentive, and since it was my 1st time at a Chinese restaurant like this, they took the time to explain each food to me. I was greatly appreciative of that.

I paid $11 and specifically asked for only meat, but they barely gave me any. The portion was disappointing for the price. On top of that, the staff was rude — especially the person who took my order. I felt like I was treated differently because I don’t speak Cantonese( I only speak mandarin), which was really upsetting. I know they probably don’t care about reviews, but I’m sharing this so others know what to expect before going.

Royal Seafood is a bustling Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Chinatown, NYC. The traditional decor and glimmering chandeliers set the stage for a masterclass meal that impeccably mixes classic and modern dishes.
Love it but in the weekends and at lunch time, you have to be patient to get a seat. You have to tell them how many people and they will give you a token number. Authentic and delicious! We had like 8 different dim-sum and it costed around 50 which is not bad. Make sure you give tips to the server at the door before you leave!

Here’s the good - this is a large space in Chinatown - lots of tables, seating for large parties. The restaurant was popular, had many full tables but no wait if you suddenly showed up with 20 people. They did not charge a corking fee 🍷🍷Lobster and crab are market rate and so we asked and learned lobster 🦞 was $25 which we thought was very reasonable and in line with other establishments in Chinatown. Royale offers a large banquet menu starting at $498-$900+ - which is on the table to consider, different menus to choose which level works for you (each was enough for 8 to 10 people) the banquet menus are in Mandarin so use your google translator to view. The not so great - we should have read the reviews and ordered dim sum. We ordered lobster with garlic and scallion, salt and pepper lobster 🦞 seafood soup and fried seafood basket. Lobsters were lukewarm, we strongly feel that our ginger scallion lobster - which came out first - was a send back order as it arrived quickly after we placed our order, before our soup and was only warm - also on the small size ☹️ the table next to us also ordered the same lobster 🦞 dish, it was almost double in size and we could see the steam and smell their ginger and scallion…not ours. The ginger scallion was the best flavored item. If you like it not spicy this is your place. The fried seafood basket was fresh seafood which we appreciated. The level of service also was just okay - we asked for hot sauce and soy sauce and never received the soy sauce. We couldn’t get soy sauce, in a Chinese food restaurant. I would say this was probably one step up from your neighborhood Chinese delivery, the seafood was fresh just not hot and if you have sauces you like at home, this would be a good take out and use your sauce at home place.

Coming back to this restaurant was such a nostalgic experience. As a little girl, I used to come here for dim sum with my parents, and now, returning as an adult and ordering whatever I want feels completely different. I can’t say the quality has stayed the same—or maybe my taste buds have just changed over the years. That said, they still serve decent dim sum, and the cart ladies are as warm and friendly as ever. If you’re planning a visit, it’s best to come early, though expect a wait. By the afternoon, they often run out of popular items like shrimp rice noodle rolls—one of my favorites!

During our trip to NYC we came here on 2 separate occasions once for dinner than later for dim sum. Food was pretty good, much better than at home.

Came here because of the Google map reviews, but really disappointed by its obsolete dining atmosphere and not great dim sum. 😮

delicious delicious food. best with big groups. the fried squid was yummy; crispy and salty. the beef cheung fun was bouncy. the har gao and siu mai were delish. along with the other dishes we had, we had a tasty time here.

A authentic Chinese food experience. This place was recommended. But, if you don't speak Chinese or are not an adventurous dinner, you may be overwhelmed or want to skip this place. As soon as you are seated being servers with food carts depend upon your table with food options. The servers speak Chinese and understand little English. As previously mentioned this is an obstacle for the dinner that cannot speak Chinese or is not adventurous. This worked out for half our party. It was difficult for those with dietary restrictions & the dinners looking for Americanized-Chinese food. The service was super quick and friendly. The staff top to bottom was great! If you are open to it this place is wonderful! I'd recommend it to anyone open to an authentic Chinese dining experience.

Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao is a Chinese eatery that offers a modest yet top-notch dining experience, specializing in Shanghai-style dishes like dim sum and soup dumplings. The menu features scallion pancakes, chicken dumplings, and their signature Xiao Long Bao with just the right amount of soup inside.
tiny spot in flushing but the dim sum is popping!! everything was so good, i don’t think you can go wrong here. only downside is that it’s cash only. i was teaching a friend how to use chopsticks here and an elderly chinese lady at the table next to us said that i held chopsticks correctly & that i was doing a good job teaching my friend 😭 it was the sweetest and perhaps most validating thing ever

Had a wonderful dinner with our 4 person family. Minus a mistake with the milk tea and there being not being alcohol; this was the best soup dumplings I’ve had in flushing. Yes, better than Nan Xiang. Food was well prepared and seasoned. Extremely nice portions, flavor, texture, service, price! Will return!

This is definitely good quality soup dumplings. The quality of the skin is thick and the soup will not come out. The was decent. The portion of size was not very huge. It's good for one person. The food was little oily and salty, no need to add additional sauce. Prepare to drink a lot water. The staff is friendly! The black truffle was one of my favorite soup dumpling!

Had some of the best dim sums and dumplings ever. The crab dim sums had a subtle garlicky taste and melted in the mouth. The chicken dumplings in hot and sour sauce were amazing too! The place also serves complimentary hot tea! But they accept cash only, so make sure you have cash on you before you visit.

I would have given them 10 stars if Google reviews had the option because it was sooo good. I went to NY from Germany and made an effort to travel to Flushing from Manhatten just to eat their dumplings and I am glad that I did. They were the best and Their staff is so nice, soft spoken and very helpful in describing the taste and content of food before I ordered. Highly recommend going here♥️♥️

Another Chinese restaurant gem! The Xiao Long Bao are deliciously satisfying! Shredded Beef with Chili Pepper has that right amount of spiciness that's not overwhelming. Ma Po Tofu was on point with White rice.

Came here over the weekend. We were in the mood for soup dumplings and after hearing so much about this place we decided to give it a try. The soup dumplings were very flavorful, a little smaller than I'm used to but I really enjoyed them. I'd definitely have them again. They also have a chocolate/Nutella version but I was too full to try them, next time! We also had the pork belly, which was very good and the beef and scallion pancakes. Good menu and small cozy place. Really enjoyed it.

I got a takeout order of the crab meat soup dumplings and the vegetable dumplings. I cannot comment on the atmosphere of the place or the staff since I got takeout. The xiao long bao were good, the prices are pretty standard for a good restaurant. I wish there had maybe been a bit more soup in them, but they were good. The vegetable dumplings were actually my favorite, I liked that they had a slightly thicker chewy skin. The filling of them was also really well seasoned and enjoyable, not too mushy but also not overly dry or crunchy.

New Mulan Seafood Restaurant is a hidden gem in Flushing, offering gourmet Chinese and Asian cuisine in an upscale setting complete with a waterfall. The restaurant is known for its extensive selection of classic dumplings, including the popular hello kitty yellow running custard bao. While prices have increased, the standard banquet menu offers good value with generous portions of seafood and proteins. The baked pumpkin with oxtail is highly recommended.
Had Christmas Dinner at New Mulan, it was an amazing experience. The dining hall looks like it was just renovated, it was very nice and clean. The Sashimi Platter was fabulous, fresh, and tasty, same with the Crispy Shrimp with Walnuts. The server we had was attentive. We will definitely come back again! If you are looking for Authentic Chinese food, New Mulan is a must-try!

The restaurant was very full and the tables were occupied by large families, luckily just when we entered there was a table available :) Unfortunately dim sum cars wouldn't pass by our table :( We had to chase the carts to be able to order something. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to eat anything. I would say the food is so-so. I've tried Dim Sum in different restaurants and almost all of them taste the same. I would recommend this place only if you come for a casual meeting with family/friends, drinking tea and talking while eating dim sum.
Rebecca Z — Google review
Food was terrible. Har gow while coming out warm was presented with a terrible wrapping. The shrimp tasted off as though it was not properly defrosted or handled correctly during the cooking process. This same off taste continued for a majority of the food items. This indicates poor handling of the food items during cooking which leads me to suspect inconsistent final taste in general . One day it may be spot on , another day it is completely off. Lo mai gai had one of the worst sticky rice taste I have had in a long time. Rice was way too soft. The veggies not shown was cooked in too much oil . I would not recommend this place based on a few other better quality dim sum restaurant nearby at a lower price point. Service carts came 5-10minutes after seating which is unusually slow for brunch time. Not doing any favors here. Only good is the lighting is solid and the location is central in flushing.
Thomas J — Google review
Nice atmosphere. Some dishes arrive hot off the cart (all types of buns, dumplings, eggrolls etc). We also order fried noodles from the menu. Had hot tea, sodas etc. The egg tarts desserts were warm & delicious. On the 2nd floor. Parking in pay lots. His & Her bathrooms in the front. Watch out for the service robot it sometimes delivers food from the kitchen to the dining area.
Ray A — Google review
Service (5/5): we came in on a weeknight at 6pm and there was no other patrons so we were wined and dined by several staff until a few later parties arrived. They were courteous and tended to us often. Ambiance (5/5): They just renovated and reopened a month ago! The dining area is also used as a wedding venue spot as you can see the ornate table settings, beautiful decor, speaker systems, and a projector in the front advertising the space. There's also private rooms in the back. One particular one had karaoke going on (and we could hear it..) Food: Chicken with Eggplant casserole : It was very salty but I enjoyed the taste. It came out in a bubbling plate. Salted porkchops: Nice crunchy outer crust. Chicken w Broccoli: Very standard dish, slightly too salty but the chicken pieces were super tender! Broccoli was cooked to a perfect crunch. Singapore Noodles: Tasty! Fried flounder: I loved the crispy skin of the flounder. It tasted fresh. Steak w black pepper sauce: The chunks were tender but they were very large and needed a knife to make some smaller cuts. However the sauce was just alright.

Pretty decent place for dim sum, lower prices during lunch time in weekdays. Some outstanding dishes, some normal ones, and something could be improved. Recommend: ✨radish cake, 💛pineapple bun, steamed little ribs NOT recommend: vegetable. They didn’t cook well, stems were hard to bite.

With so many restaurants in Flushing, it's hard to compete. This is a classic Cantonese Family style dining restaurant. Night manager and staff are few in numbers on a weekday. I remember when this place used to be packed all the time. Food is very good but expect to pay the newer inflated prices. A standard banquet menu starts at $588 with about 8 dishes which include a lot of seafood and proteins. Still a good value given the portion sizes. Best dish is the baked pumpkin with oxtail. Excellent flavor and texture. Their marble goby is the fish to try as well as the steamed flounder. I personally liked the steamed oysters with vermicelli - in which you order by piece. They suggest one per person (not a sharing dish). And the classic Signature fried rice is good. This last visit I was there for a birthday party and we were given some freebies, nice touch. (Don't order the fried chicken, too dry).

Hidden gem in Flushing. Not only is the restaurant beautiful with chandeliers; great for banquets and parties…the food was solid especially the crispy chicken which came out perfectly moist and crisp. Portions were also very large. Good value! Only thing is that this place is confusing to find especially gps asks you to drive through Main St. instead follow the GPS to their parking lot which is right around the corner. Attached is a photo with the parking lot address. Good luck!

Joe's Steam Rice Roll is a popular fast-food spot located in a mini-mall, offering Cantonese rice noodle dishes that are freshly prepared upon order. The restaurant stands out for its use of cheong fun, which are broad rice noodles filled with meat such as pork, shrimp, or beef and drizzled with soy sauce.
When I walked into this place, I felt like I stepped into Asia. It reminded me so much of the older cramped food courts you can find in certain parts of Asia. The line was long for this place and they make the steamed rolls fresh. We ordered the shrimp rice roll in the large size (it doesn’t come in the small size) and added three types of vegetables that is included in the price ($8). If you want to add an egg, it’s $1 extra. The soy milk was $3, and they only have the sweetened version. They have some seating for eat-in guests. We bought it was takeout and it was piping hot and super fresh. our aunt really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend visiting!

Steamy soft and addictive rice roll and plenty of stuffing such as shrimp beef or pork. The line js long but move quickly. There’s limited seating but don’t let that stop you from trying it out.
Thao T — Google review
Great snack! Got the steamed rice roll with pork, egg, chives, bean sprouts and corn. The rice rolls had a satisfying texture, but don’t expect a lot of pork or veggie filling. They rolls definitely benefit from the sauce as well, as they are otherwise a bit flavorless and bland in taste.
Antonia N — Google review
This place is overrated. It’s the Flushing location. The space is so small. They have the first shop location in this small food court/hall, so they attract all the customers. The vendors in the back are so bored that they’re on their phones. There is limited counter seating, and when people walk past you, it’s easy to get bumped. It’s not a comfortable eating situation for a big group for sure. I got the soy milk, and it was good. They have condiments, like soy sauce and chili sauce. No bathroom.

Joe’s Steamed Rice Rolls now has a new location inside the food court at New World Mall in Flushing. The rolls are made fresh to order and come with several free topping options to customize your order. The rice rolls are slightly thicker than most, giving them a chewy texture that makes them really satisfying. The chili hot sauce is optional but adds a great kick of flavor that balances perfectly with the soft rice rolls. Overall, this spot is a solid choice for a quick, fresh, and authentic snack in the mall.
John G — Google review
This is a popular hole in the wall place across the street from New World Mall. The steam rice rolls here are simple and delicious. You can pick from existing combinations or make your own. They also make Chinese crepes here. Sitting is limited and in the summer, it can get really hot.
Xin — Google review
Came here right when it opened and there was no line and not crowded. Rice rolls themselves are soft and flavorful; would recommend with a bit of soy sauce. Limited seating at the counter and cash only. Reasonable prices.
Shanru — Google review
It’s so easy to miss the shops in New York cuz their front doors are small. I actually walked by this location and ended up in the location in the food court across the street. I hope the quality is the same. The rice rolls are thin that is what I wanted. The fillings were ok I didn’t pay much attention to them. The services were good. The good thing eating in the food court is that there are plenty of seats.

RedFarm offers a cozy and rustic setting where you can enjoy creative dim sum and modern, seasonal Chinese cuisine. The Peking duck is a standout dish, served with sesame peanut sauce, cranberry sauce, and hoisin. The menu also includes small plates meant for sharing, and the drinks selection caters to all tastes. Guests have raved about the exceptional food and drinks, such as the basil lemonade.
Everything is delicious have tried several things on the menu and you can't go wrong. Known for their pac-man dumplings presentation which is great. A little on the pricier side but the dishes are big portions and can be shared. Recommend trying at least one dish with noodles and one with rice.

Delicious, innovative take on standard Asian dishes. The flavor combinations are wonderful and unique. The presentation is fantastic. The service was attentive and helpful but never annoying. Prices were reasonable for the quality.

We had a wonderful meal; crispy beef, hot and sour, scallion pancakes (they were a real standout) followed by delicious lamb and cumin dumplings, decadent oxtail dumplings, and super fun crab-duck dumplings with a little crab claw handle and curry to pour inside. I’d never seen anything like it! The steamed sea bass with black bean sauce was the star entree; light, soft fish in a banging sauce. The short rib udon was also great. Highly recommend.

What a superb experience in this restaurant, the red farm provided such a vibrant and unique area for us to really break bread after a couple years apart, especially the fan that was brought out for our most Hot member of the squad. Above all, I would recommend the duck lettuce wraps, as they really succulent. Made my belly, sing, joyful songs of Justice and unity.

Always a winner! Thank you, Charlie, Sully, and the entire Read farm staff for a fantastic meal. From start to finish, our evening was perfect. Some suggestions for readers: Order Peking Duck in advance – it’s worth it! Treat yourself to a special drink offering – I particularly like the white sangria with peaches. The dumplings and cold noodles in sesame sauce are to die from! Enjoy every minute and every visit. 👍👍👍

This place easily deserves 5 stars. The food, the drinks, and the staff are all impeccable. That said, the reason I’m writing this review is so next time I remember to not make the same mistake I’ve already made twice. Note to self: the udon noodles are mildly spicy and my kids don’t like them! However, they do love the pork buns! And we love the noodles and everything else, especially the Shiso Wonderful cocktail. Easily our current favorite place in the UWS to go with our kids these days. Update: turns out they can make the noodles not spicy, and the waitress remembered us and offered to do that!

They notice if your water glass needs refilling. Their food presents excellent flavors. Plus, the workers maintain a positive demeanor. People filled the entire establishment. This spot will meet your expectations.

We had a great time at RedFarm. We sat at the bar and our waitress/bartender was Aisha, who was extremely kind and hospitable. Not just to us, but every single person she interacted with. She made great recommendations for our first time there. We got the lunar New Year dumplings, the Crispy Beef, Crispy Chicken, and Wild Rice Noodle with Duck. The rice noodles and crispy beef hit home for us. In terms of food, as a Cantonese person, it’s very familiar and is high quality and very good. You can get similar quality with higher quantity and lower prices in Chinatown but you won’t get the same vibes or drinks. You’re really paying for the vibes. Vibes are super nice. Definitely seems like the place to be. Would go back with some friends for an experience and maybe try the Peking Duck. The prices are on the higher end so heads up.

The Original Buddha Bodai Kosher Vegetarian Restaurant 佛菩提 has been serving kosher vegetarian Chinese cuisine since 2004. Located in Chinatown, this casual eatery offers a wide range of traditional favorites and an extensive selection of dim sum options. The menu features classic dishes like Buddhist delight, dim sum sampler, General Tso Vegan Steak, and Chicken Lo Mein - all made kosher and vegan.
For an appetizer, we got the jellyfish. It was so bouncy. The daikon and carrot slaw cut the saltiness nicely. For an entree, we got the chef’s special and asked for it very spicy. It did not disappoint!! We also got the lamb and mixed vegetables in garlic sauce. The lamb texture was on point, and the dish was very flavorful. Would absolutely recommend if you have dietary restrictions, they’re very accommodating!!

This place is the real deal. Great food. Great portion sizes. Always end up ordering too much, but always end up finishing everything because the food is great. Super clean restaurant. Cool staff. Dinner menu is awesome, but the Dim Sum menu is where it’s at. Shark fin dumplings, mushroom rice rolls, sticky rice lotus leaf are favorites of mine but you can’t go wrong with anything.
Robert V — Google review
Mapo tofu rocks, Usually all chinese places give a liquid like water with tofu, but here it’s so savory, flavor filled, spicy and up for grabs! The cedar fried rice tastes awesome, usually has a motor oil/wok taste to it - but thats what I bought it for. Tasty chow fun, mild, flavor rich and yummy. Beef coriander soup was okish. Don’t get the dumplings, they seem fresh but just have a bland doughy taste.
Deepan P — Google review
This is my favorite vegetarian Chinese restaurant. We ordered pan fried dumplings, tofu skin with cedar sauce, mixed sea food with cedar sauce in taro bowl, eggplant in spicy laksa sauce, Buddha’s delight pan fried noodles, and Fujian fried rice. Everything was so delicious. I love their cedar sauce. It goes so well with everything, and it’s so fragrant and savory. My favorite dish was the mixed seafood with cedar sauce in taro bowl. It has been my no. 1 for a long time. I have to get it whenever I’m here. I also love the Buddha’s delight pan fried noodles. The crunchy noodles with slightly gluey sauce were just perfect. Especially when the noodles were mixed with the sauce and got a bit saggy, it was the most delightful texture. The braised tofu skin with cedar sauce was also very good. I especially love the cabbage they put in the bottom of the plate. It absorbs the flavor and with the sweetness of its own. It was my first time trying their Fujian fried rice. The idea was very similar to the Buddha’s delight pan fried noodles, but replaced the noodles with fried rice. I love the bits of the ham in the sauce. Everything was simply delicious, but just like almost all Chinese food, it’s a bit greasy. Good thing was they had some tea to go with it. The servers were also pretty pleasant and friendly.
Bradley C — Google review
We got the gluten free beef chow mein and it was a very underwhelming dish. They straight up brought exactly that and nothing else. No vegetables in the dish, no soy sauce and no chili sauce. For the cost, a little crazy. We had to channel the vegetables previously cooked in the same work through the noodles to pretend to enjoy it. A little effort in dish would have gone a long way. When you order ask what else is in your dishes before trusting the menu. I get simplicity but for $20 bucks that was under simple.
Adnan J — Google review
The food here is amazing, amazing! Super tasty plenty of vegetarian, vegan or classic options! The dumplings are delicious too! It’s definitely recommended to try it out!
Vasil V — Google review
So good we ate here twice during our trip. I had their spring special “candied pineapple dish” which I couldn’t get enough of. We ordered several appetizers and my 10 year old -who is a very picky eater - loved her vegan sesame chicken so much she insisted we come back.
Robie S — Google review
A modern dim sum spot featuring all-vegetarian dishes without compromising on flavor. The restaurant is accommodating to dietary needs with a variety of soy-free options available that are just as delicious. Highlights of the meal included the cumin “lamb,” salt & pepper “pork” ribs, pea shoots, and the soup dumplings - so flavorful that it was hard to believe they were meatless! Overall, a satisfying experience and an excellent choice for those craving authentic dim sum flavors while catering to vegetarian preferences.

Shanghai You Garden 上海豫园 is a classy kitchen in Flushing Chinatown that offers traditional Shanghainese cuisine at affordable prices. The restaurant has an elegant teahouse-style ambiance and is known for serving the best Shanghai soup dumplings in the neighborhood, along with other delectable dishes like drunken chicken and Shanghai fried pork buns. With a wide variety of Shanghai and Chinese delicacies, this spacious eatery provides comfortable seating and efficient, friendly service.
Was in Flushing and found this restaurant on Google maps was highly rated and decided to try. Was a hidden gem, the front of the restaurant was completely empty, but bustling in the back. Food was great and reasonably priced. The soup dumplings were not as good as others I’ve had and would not order again as the filling and the soup lacked flavor. However, the duck was delicious (even though it didn’t have much meat), the spicy tripe and beef was tender and tasty, the fried scallion and shrimp dumplings were delicious and would recommend. Our family of 4 ate for less than $85 all in (tax and tip). It’s cash only, btw!

I’ve visited this spot many times over the years, and it has always been one of my favorites in Flushing Chinatown. The prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly, and the menu offers a wide variety of choices. Sadly, I’ve noticed that the food quality has started to decline compared to past visits. The wonton and noodles, which used to be my go-to dishes, are no longer as flavorful or satisfying as they once were. I still enjoy coming here, but I really hope the kitchen returns to the high standard that made this place so special.

Shanghai You Garden serves good and authentic Chinese breakfast. My parents are a fan and always prompts us to come here. Their menu is huge, but when you order enough, they will give you 6 soup dumplings or peking duck bun for free. I'm a huge fan of their salted tofu. The staff are always available if you need help. I will say though, after eating here, you will experience food coma. The food is also a tad oily so you may feel bloated.
Xin — Google review
If you dine in and spend $10, you can get a free duck bun or an order of soup dumplings!! WOW. We also ordered an order of their new spicy pork dumpling flavor but preferred their original pork over the spicy. The soup dumplings are always great. We also ordered half of a roasted duck which is enough meat to feed about 7 servings (several extra buns but not enough meat). CASH ONLY with an ATM on site. Their other dishes are also very yummy to try. They also gave us a FREE dessert soup - warm and sweet with small glutinous balls.

I came at around 10:30 for a late breakfast and ordered the pan-fried pork buns, scallion pancakes with beef and iced soymilk. This was already too much for one so I anticipated having leftovers. I had no idea that I crossed some monetary threshold for an order of free soup dumplings! Keep this in mind if you're solo dining... The scallion pancakes were delicious and the pork buns very good (not my fave in Flushing, but solid). The soup dumplings were good and the soymilk was the perfect amount of sweet. I also like their chili...heavy on the crisp and light on the oil. The restaurant was well lit and clean and the service was efficient and pretty friendly by Flushing stardards. I would definitely return (with friends).
Lisa W — Google review
No visit to Flushing is complete without lunch at Shanghai You Garden. With one order of a Peking Duck Bun along comes six Pork Soup Dumplings in a steamer basket. It is free. Yes! Absolutely free and tasty. When a friend had rhapsodized about the cuisine here, I made sure to venture to Queens and spend the day exploring and eating. This time I also ordered the Chive and Shrimp Pancake which was a tad greasy. With a crisp wrapper, it was toothsome and every bite made me joyous. Only the shrimp rice roll was disappointing as the wrapper was too thick. Service is efficient and unobtrusive. A clean restroom (washroom) is located in the back. During the summer months one can order these duck baos and sit outside in the front to enjoy it. There are countless restaurants in Flushing but Shanghai You Garden remains one of my favorites. This is a cash only restaurant and my bill is always inexpensive. What more can one ask for?
Sabena S — Google review
The soup dumplings (better than din tai fung) are really good and same with the duck buns!! We came back a second trip to flushing for it. The other stuff is okay- try somewhere else for stinky tofu and rice rolls. They give you free tea and sweet rice soup w sticky rice balls. Also, their current special is if you spend 10$ they give you the soup dumplings for free - yum!! I would come again!
Vanessa S — Google review
Got to say, they serve some really stinky tofu. The peking duck bun booth is very famous. Was seated upstairs in the bit more bare bones dining area. Went for the free buns instead of soup dumpling, and ordered a ton of dishes from my childhood. Everything has subtle delicate flavors letting ingredients shine without being overpowered by spices. Service a bit slow and unattentive, took a while to get the bill but that's not why you come here.

New Lake Pavilion is a popular Chinese eatery in Flushing Chinatown, offering traditional dim sum dishes in a comfortable setting. The restaurant features a large dining hall with round tables and bustling pushcarts, creating an authentic Cantonese experience. Located conveniently near the highway, it's a great spot to introduce kids to dim sum. While known for its dim sum, some patrons believe that the dinner options are even better, especially seafood dishes and tender lamb chops.
I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant from the moment I took my first bite, I knew I had discovered something special. Every dumpling is bursting with flavor—juicy on the inside, perfectly cooked on the outside, and paired with just the right amount of seasoning and dipping sauce. The taste of the food is fantastic—you can tell that every ingredient is fresh and carefully chosen. The shrimp ones are tender and slightly sweet, and full of flavor and not at all boring like in some other places. Every dish I tried made me want more. If you’re looking for food that warms your heart and satisfies your cravings, this is the place. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves bold, delicious, comforting Chinese flavors.

Great food and most excellent service. We do not speak Chinese but this does not affect the level of service we get. Very friendly wait staff and management. Food is fresh, well made, and delicious. We love to eat here!
DS L — Google review
This is olde school dim sum which is reminiscent of what we eat decades ago, the space looks like a time warp and feels a little dated, the staff, uniforms and decor are from another era. The good to dishes lack flavor and need more salt and sauces. Portions are generous, but need a little more care and attention.
E. F — Google review
The best dim sum in Flushing, Queens! I’ve been here many times, and the food is consistently delicious every single visit. Everyone I bring falls in love with it too. We always order a lot, and somehow, we finish everything—it’s just that good. The must-try dish here is the rice noodle rolls with crispy shrimp. The texture and flavor are absolutely perfect—the crispiness of the wrapper, the rich sauce—it’s something I’ve never found at any other dim sum place. Highly recommended! Other standouts include the siu mai, har gow, and especially the deep-fried pineapple and BBQ pork bun. The bun is thin and crispy on the outside, while the filling is perfectly sweet, fragrant, and juicy. It’s a must-order! The restaurant is only open in the mornings, and I recommend coming around 10 AM. If you arrive earlier, some items may not be ready yet. Overall, this place is a gem. Very traditional and good dim-sum. The service is good but there was this new guy who totally messed up our drink order. But the others helped to correct it right away. There were 10 of us and finished with around $250 all included

This is an authentic Cantonese resturant. It very much reminded me of being in Hong Kong. The food and decor are very similar to resturants that I have seen in HK. The food is not spicy so dont look for Scezhuan style preparations. I recommend the fried pork and the chicken.

Our No. 1 dim sum in NYC! We could come all the way to Flushing just for this. None of the dishes we pick from the carts (how fun is that) has ever disappointed us. Have made multiple trips coming to this place, and still can’t wait for our next visit!

I’ve been here so many times. I don’t know what is called the rice noodle rolls one, but it’s very DELICIOUS!!! I ordered it 3 times. The custard buns are very good.

Restaurant
Dumpling Galaxy is a renowned eatery located in the Arcadia Mall in Flushing, specializing in a wide variety of dumplings, offering more than 100 kinds. The restaurant also serves noodles and other Chinese dishes. It is highly recommended for those seeking an authentic dining experience. The place is known for its extensive menu featuring 100 different varieties of dumplings, each with its own unique flavors.
Oh wow. This is really good. I was looking for soup dumplings. Cause Joe's Shanghai is closed after the pandemic. But one of my friends recommends this place. I'm so happy to find finally a good place. Fresh and tasty. I will come back for sure.
Miharu R — Google review
Food at Dumpling Galaxy doesn't disappoint but it's slow or lack of table service makes it hard to give it more stars. Not saying they are not good servers, they just move at the speed of slow. So if you're in a rush, this is not the place to go. For a nice sit down dining experience and you're not in a rush - then fine...sit and enjoy. Known for their soup dumplings and pan fried dumplings - all are good. Soup dumplings have a nice broth but the dough was a bit thicker than I would've liked. They do come in different flavors - presentation is pretty but I honestly didn't notice a taste difference from the usual flour ones. Still a fun thought - dough made of spinach, beets, or carrots just to name a few. Good comfortable seating - hidden gem inside the mall. Still a great value and meal option for snacking or family style dining.

I must say I was quite impressed for my first visit. I want sure exactly what to expect from a restaurant inside a mall. The decor is cute, the area clean and bright. They have booths along the wall and tables along the front. It was a little strange that there wasn't anyone by the front desk to welcome people. We stood awkwardly for a few minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Once we were seated though it was all good. The menu is extensive. Some of the dishes were on the expensive end for mall food. And there was about twenty different types of dumplings. We ordered lamb dumplings, pork with chives, soup dumplings, the house special fried rice and scallion pancakes. The fried rice was very good but the scallion pancakes were just okay. I found them a bit of too doughy. The dumplings were delicious. So tasty that it didn't really need any dipping sauces. The prices for the dumplings were very reasonable at around $7 per plate. I definitely will come back to try some more of other types of dumplings.
Amelia — Google review
An amazing variety of dumplings, both traditional style, and some varieties I’ve never seen. The vegetarian dumplings were the best in my opinion! Also tried the lamb with squash, soup dumplings, pork scallion, and money bags. The service was the only down side, it was a bit slow.

11.11.17 - I was surprised by how good this place was because I thought it would be overhyped. The staff is very nice, english speaking, and patient. We ordered the spicy beef, shrimp and green squash, pan fried pork egg chive dumplings, and the pumpkin black sesame dumplings. All were very good and relatively affordable. I would recommend this place over Tian Jin and few other dumplings spots. On a side note, I was mesmerized for a while by the video highlighting mainland rural eating culture of noodles, chinese tamales, and rice roll dishes. I would definitely go back to try their other dumpling creations and non-dumpling main dishes.
A L — Google review
Food was good, but not as yummy as the dumpling takeout in the food courts around flushing where it is visited by Chinese customers. Portions were small for the price as each portion only had 6 dumplings. Service was good and fast, the place was casual and comfortable.
Isabelle T — Google review
Everything I dreamed it would be. Dumplings to hit: lamb and cilantro, duck and mushroom, pan friend pork and chives. The shrimp and scallop was ok but watery. The spicy beef was also good and so was the kelp salad. Spicy duck heads were tasty but a bit of an ordeal. Fried peppers were also excellent.
Michael S — Google review
Authentic chinese food. Varieties of dumplings but they have so many other dishes as well. Their fried were excellent and also the fried rice was amazing. They also have a great spicy lamn with hot peppers which is phenomenal.

Barbecue restaurant
Corner 28 is a second-story spot offering a wide variety of Cantonese dishes, particularly known for its BBQ meats, especially duck. Located in the bustling marketplace at Main St and 40th in Flushing Chinatown, this eatery may not have the most atmospheric ambiance but it's considered one of the best all-rounders with its affordable prices, extensive menu, and casual vibes. Visitors can enjoy specialty meats and quality rice plates to go at an average price of $6.
A Cantonese-style roast meats platter and water for under $10 in Flushing! On my most recent visit, I got a platter of roast duck over rice + cabbage. The skin is crispy, and the meat is well-seasoned, tender, and lean, which is how duck’s supposed to be. It’s $10 on the menu, but if you pay in cash, you get a 20% discount (tax not included). That 20% discount goes for all the stuff on their menu. Most people come to Corner 28 for their roast meats section and it’ll definitely fill you up. There's a wide selection of roast meats and you know it's legit when you see them all hanging on the window, fresh and glistening with a bright light behind it Growing up, Corner 28 actually used to be located on the corner, just down the block. When I was younger I used to visit here quite often to get a filling meal of meats, vegetables, and carbs all in one platter for a very affordable price. They also used to give soup instead of a water bottle! Corner 28 (135-24 40th Rd, Flushing, NY 11354) Open daily 8am-8pm

You know it’s good roast duck when you walk up to the window and there are cooked ducks hanging in the window! Atmosphere is liking simply because it’s really grab and go versus. Enjoy it on site. Only reason for the four stars on the food is the fact that the duck is cold or room temperature. However, the flavor is delicious! Classic roast duck with no frills.
John K — Google review
This stall right off main street has one of the best roast meat platters that you can get! Walking by the stall, you can see all of their meats on display, looking fresh and juicy. I got the 3 meats platter here, which came with rice, cabbage, water, and your 3 choice of meats (I chose the classic chicken, duck, and pork). The portion was so generous for $10, and all of the meat was delicious. The cuts were thick, they were juicy, and so full of flavor. One of the best deals I've seen. Highly recommend.
Mia H — Google review
Meat tastes good, and roast pork was decent (though a bit dry). However, they definitely skimped on the roast duck - in the picture circled is the largest piece of duck meat I received, rest was even smaller pieces and all bone or fat.
Melody L — Google review
This small eatery offers a surprisingly diverse selection of Chinese street food from both the northern and southern regions. After a recent renovation, they’ve expanded their menu beyond their signature Cantonese roast meats to include northern Chinese specialties like jianbing guozi and kao leng mian. Jianbing guozi is a popular Chinese breakfast item that resembles a crepe but is packed with flavorful toppings and sauces, making it incredibly satisfying. Kao leng mian, a northern Chinese street snack that is rare in the U.S. and even harder to find prepared authentically, is done exceptionally well here. Their Cantonese-style roast meats remain as excellent as ever—fresh, flavorful, and fairly priced. The only downside is the limited dine-in space, but it’s perfect for takeout. Highly recommended!
D G — Google review
Got some roasted pork over rice to go here and it was a really good deal. For just $9 you get a meal with a generous amount of meat and rice with some chinese cabbage. They also gave a water bottle for free which was unexpected but grateful for.

This hidden roast duck and pork spot inside the Flushing china town. one of the best. I make sure to stop by every time I visit New York.

After a long morning of hard work, I was starving and decided to try the chicken and BBQ pork over rice at Comer 28. For under $10, the portion was generous and the flavors were amazing! The tender chicken and smoky BBQ pork paired perfectly with fluffy rice that soaked up all the delicious juices. This meal hit the spot and left me completely satisfied. Highly recommend!

One of the better dim sum places in Flushing. The place is newly fitted - feels much cleaner than other restaurants. Food was above average - large selection, steaming hot when it’s served, tastes great. Service was good too. Nothing to complain about!

I found a roach in my fish and my mother had a stomach ache afterwards. I told the waiter and they said sorry. He said he will either replace the fish or make a lobster for you to make it up. Pretty nasty that there's a cockroach in my fish. My family members and I all saw it on my dish. I am never going back. Not a fake review. I was there yesterday after I came back from a funeral.

Great dim sum place. Food was delicious and price was lovely, <$70 for a group of 4. We arrived at 2pm on Saturday, no wait and got a table immediately. At a dim sum place you’d expect staff carrying food carts walking around tables. This is the NORM (given how ignorant a review prior to me was). Items we loved the most: 蛋黄流沙包, it was so good and pretty we ordered twice (the dark grey buns in the pic). Great to grab a quick bite before we headed to the karaoke next door.

Caferteria style restaurant and very loud. We ordered a fish, and they showed us a flounder in a plastic food bucket 🪣 and charged $150.00 for a badly steamed butchered fish, ordered chicken, and it was cold inside. If you order MP dishes, ask how much it is before ordering because they will rip you off. It's lit up like Grand Central Station the tables are broken and the chairs are for children. They give flushing Chinese restaurants a bad name. Lousy un Profesional service. The waiter begged my guest in chinese for a bigger tip. Avoid this place it's all pre-cooked food and microwaved.

I like this place. I arrived with 2 of my friends around 1pm on a Sunday and was seated almost right away. The tables are great for small groups so you don't have to worry about communal dining. There's great variety in dim sum options (like this jelly taro ball I'd never seen before) and it wasn't as hectic as some of the places I've been to before in Chinatown. Price seems average (about $18 for a meal including tip that served as lunch and dinner). The only downside is that it takes a little while to get your check.

Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao in Manhattan offers an authentic and affordable dining experience, reminiscent of flavors from China. The restaurant provides a comfortable and casual atmosphere with attentive service. Dishes like braised tofu with wood ear mushrooms and beef scallion pancake are highly recommended for their quality and flavorful taste. The highlight of the menu is the soup dumplings, which are praised for their tender skin, flavorful soup, and satisfying meat filling.
While I am aware that New York does not lack authentic Chinese food, I thought everything I had here was just tasty and I didn't really know how else to describe them. My friend and I ordered some of their signature dishes and some dishes that we would eat while at home in China, and since my friend was a foodie, I had some expectations for this establishment, and was not disappointed. The soup dumplings contained a good amount of soup and had a lot of flavor, so the overall experience was very positive. The chicken soup was also very flavorful, and seeing the oil floating on the top made me recognize right away that it was going to be good. The chives boxes weren't as full as what I have had at home, and the chives taste wasn't as strong, but they were still really tasty. The fried rice wasn't too dry or too oily and had good flavor. The pressed tofu and celery dish offered a good contrasting experience since it was a cold dish and had the right amount of saltiness. Finally, the dumplings were just great since they had the perfect thickness for the skin, and were pretty big in size. With all of those ordered, my friend and I had a great time eating Chinese food and catching up. I am aware that this establishment has a few locations within the city, so I am glad to see it thriving and truly wish it best of luck in serving the local communities with quality Chinese food.

Their soup dumplings is a must-try and probably the best around Midtown if you’re looking for one. We always pair it with their dumplings, fried rice and pork chop. Their food is well priced too. The place can get busy during lunch and dinner time so I suggest turning up early.

I stumbled on Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao on my way out of my upcoming new office in the middle of Manhattan and I am so glad I went in. I tried the house specials, the soup dumplings and the dumpling soup, and ordered bok choy as an appetizer. Everything was delicious. The dumplings were delicate and full of flavor, the soup was rich, and the bok choy was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere felt authentic, like I was eating in Asia, and the staff were warm and attentive. I noticed on my way out that the restaurant has been recognized by the Michelin Guide for several years, and that recognition is well deserved. The food quality was outstanding and the prices were not overly expensive. Highly recommend.

My friend a I randomly stumbled across this place- and it was such a good find! I can’t believe they have vegetarian xiao long bao- it was soupy and perfect. The veggie noodle soup and the crispy noodles were pretty good and the portion sizes for the mains are huge! It’s also very affordable; 12-15$ for a large main. The vegetarian menu is a little small but I’m glad they have options. Highly recommend!
Sahana D — Google review
The location is excellent, with nice interior design and a clean environment. However, the food was underwhelming. The dumpling fillings all tasted very similar, as if the same base was used with just a few extra ingredients added. The so-called “Crab Roe Soup Dumplings” didn’t really have the authentic flavor. I’ve tried the same varieties at other soup-dumpling specialists, and they were much better. The entrées, the pork ribs, dumplings, and wok-fried vegetables—were very average. The only dish I truly enjoyed was the noodles, which I would recommend trying. Service was also just average.
Pam — Google review
Exceptional xiao long bao. This place is a must if you are in New York in my opinion. I definitely recommend going with the classical pork option and not spending space in your stomach on everything else. The place is clean. They don’t accept reservations but the place is spacious and the queue size is usually manageable. The staff were good and efficient

Right across the street from the Empire State Building is Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, home to some of the best wontons and soup dumplings I have ever had. After about a 30-minute wait we were seated and started ordering right away. We chose the Bok Choy, Shrimp and Pork & Veg Wontons in Spicy Peanut Sauce, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and of course the Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings. Every dish was outstanding. My favorite was the Shrimp and Pork & Veg Wontons in Spicy Peanut Sauce, which were simply unforgettable. Now I understand why this place is always so busy. It really is that good, and I will definitely be back for more!

Holy crap I was so hungry at like 1 AM took the subway got here did to go and did not disappoint for that trip considering I came all the way from a hotel in Brooklyn. Here I thought that I was going to be finding something similar to Din Tai Fung but way better. Their spicy pork dumpling is douse with this sesame pea sauce very similar from the Tai Fung, but it’s infuse with their dry dumpling dish. And the variety if Xiao Long Bao is very flavorful with each one being very distinctive. Paring with a tank of Hot and Sour Soup was the way to go. Definitely will come back and try their other dishes when I am back in NYC.

The dim sum menu features favorites like shrimp dumplings, BBQ pork buns, and roast duck served over veggies and rice.
Low key spot but such a good find! The dim sum was AMAZING, and prices were reasonable. You order up front, and it’s self serve, with a sauce bar at the back. Overall, I had a very very good experience, definitely coming back!
Lucy Z — Google review
Do not get fooled by the fake 5 star reviews. The 4.8-star rating at the time of our visit is incredibly misleading. When you scan a QR code at the counter and leave a review, they give you a free drink—so take those glowing reviews with a grain of salt. We came here based on those ratings, but it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. We ordered the Combo over rice with roasted duck and soy chicken, beef stew noodles, chicken dumplings, and shrimp dumplings. The portions were disappointing—mostly rice with very little meat and even the small portion of meat is full of bones, laterally more than half of the meat portion was bone. The chicken dumplings were honestly horrible, and while the shrimp dumplings were okay, they couldn’t redeem the meal. Roasted duck was inedible, smelled and looked like it’s been sitting there for three days. The beef stew noodles were completely inedible as well. They had a raw, unpleasant smell, and we tried to convince ourselves it was fine, but we just couldn’t eat them. We approached the front counter respectfully—not asking for a refund, just to exchange the beef dish for dumplings to justify the $60 we had just spent after a long walk around New York. The staff was rude, dismissive, and made no effort to help. No manager was there to talk to and explain, they didn’t not even look at the food. We left most of the food and ended up going to another restaurant. This isn’t about being picky, i eat out in different places from food trucks to fine dining places and i know I am not picky at all—it’s about basic food quality and customer care. Save your money and your time. Avoid this place
Mourad — Google review
The food was just okay. You pick it up yourself and eat in a hall—no servers. Not the worst, but definitely not the best either. Still, it’s affordable and a quick bite if you’re in a hurry.

Not a bad place. Food is affordable and tasty. Could be a tad better. Had the crispy pork belly over rice which was pretty good, but like I said was slightly missing something. The restaurant is self-service and most of the staff are pleasant. The hall you eat in was clean and spacious.

UPDATE: the restaurant was apologetic for the poor service. They provided a refund which was unexpected but appreciated. It's refreshing to see a business seriously responding to customer feedback. Will give them another chance. Changing rating to what I would've given excluding the service aspect of this experience. UPDATE 2: Ordered the charsiu and soy sauce chicken, but the charsiu is so dry it felt like I was chewing on jerky! Will not order again. Had a horrible experience with a lunch take out order. Placed order at 12:19pm but didn't get order until 12:50!!! A colleague along with 10 separate people who ordered after me all received their orders before me. Had to ask multiple times to check. Was provided with no explanation for the delay. Horrible service! The food tasted like what is offered in Chinatown. The portions were stingy and the roast duck had little to no meat on it as in the video below. I asked to pay extra to get a thigh but was told I can't do that. That's just ridiculous. Don't bother coming here. Apparently customer service is a foreign concept at this store.
John L — Google review
Very good food for the price, 20$ meal with a drink. I had the BBQ pork and white rice with some hot sauce, very satisfying. Fast service, convenient. The closed restaurant room (no windows) and number announcements don't participate in a good atmosphere. It's fast food, don't expect restaurant style service!
PF — Google review
Quick good value comfort food. Pay then take a seat for your order # to be called for pickup at counter. We had roast duck over rice, wonton noodle soup, pretty good for the price to value/portion near port authority. We liked the food didn’t taste salty or msg added. Ice coffee/tea was not as flavorful nor strong as other Chinese places, full of ice enough for few sips only.
EH — Google review
Not sure how this place got all the rave reviews, we were there about 1030 ended up waiting a whole hour for the food. The dim sum came out cold like it's straight from the fridge. The Siu Mai is made of rotten meat, maybe from sitting outside for too long. One cashier and 2 chefs to handle all the orders is craziness. They should let customers know of the wait times before taking people's money as hostage.

House of Joy is a popular spot in Chinatown for traditional Chinese dim sum. Unlike the bustling atmosphere at other places, this restaurant offers a more relaxed experience with shorter wait times and a local crowd. The spacious banquet hall is adorned with elegant chandeliers, creating an inviting ambiance. Visitors rave about the delicious dim sum dishes, including favorites like steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce and unique offerings like red rice rolls stuffed with breaded shrimp.
Classic dim sum place for locals, tourists, and more. It gets overly crowded, especially on weekends but that's because this place is so so so delicious, and good. My group of 6 waited about an hour to get seated, but it was so worth it! I loved a lot of the dishes and we actually ordered more than we intended too. My least favorite was the fried pork chops. I usually love fried pork chops but it was a bit overly fried here. The best thing we ordered was the red rice roll with fried shrimp and bread. I could order 100 of these and not be sick of it. The shu mai was delicious too. Will definitely be coming back for the red rice noodles.

Super busy spot! Came by during lunch time last weekend and the wait was 30-40 minutes, crazy packed and food was just average. I liked the pink rolls with fried crunch and shrimp, probably the only thing I’d recommend and enjoyed eating the most. Other items either came a bit cold or not that fully cooked for the flavor to come out. Would say to pick a time when it’s less busy and you might get a better experience. Maybe it was an off day since my friend who lives nearby said the food usually tasted better.

Originally waited for another dim sum restaurant on Sat lunch because of its long wait, queuing for this and got table quicker than another restaurant. Surprisingly find this dim sum restaurant pretty tasty. The servers are attentive and wearing smiles. Though believe most restaurants in NY China town offer authentic dishes in great taste. The dishes here are pretty delicious and above standard. Good for dim sum lovers.

Super authentic Hong Kong dim sum right in the center of NYC Chinatown. Super tasty and comforting food with generous portions and low prices. Its like being transported to Hong Kong. Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen is a Chinese eatery that offers a variety of traditional comfort foods such as soup dumplings, hand-pulled noodles, and an assortment of ramen. The restaurant is known for its delectable soup dumplings and flavorful hand-pulled noodles stir-fried with mouthwatering accompaniments.
Food: I ordered beef noodle soup and steamed pork buns for lunch takeout. The flavor of the beef noodle soup is great!! I didn't expect much so it's a nice surprise how flavorful it is with a generous amount of beef and a marinated egg. The steamed pork buns are very juicy in a decent size. The takeout boxes are also a highlight. It separated each bun so it won't stick to each other. Service: the staff at the door gave me my food really quickly. Vibe: it's a good local spot for a quick meal.

Was craving noodle soup last night while in the area so popped in when I saw that they had beef noodle soup on the menu. It's a super unassuming restaurant, but hands down, one of my favorite beef noodle soups in the city (and I've had a lot)! Quick service, very few diners but as expected for a holiday monday evening.

Tucked away in the heart of Manhattan, Kung Fu Steamed Bun Ramen serves up some seriously satisfying Chinese comfort food. Having received Michelin recognition in 2018, expectations were high-and they didn't disappoint! / Little Steamed Buns - The delicate, thin skin held a rich, savory soup that burst out upon the first bite. A must-try for soup dumpling lovers! Stir-Fried Hand-Cut Noodles with Beef - The wok hei (that amazing smoky stir-fry aroma) was spot on, but the dish leaned a bit salty for my taste. Still, the texture of the hand-cut noodles was excellent. Shrimp & Pork Dumpling Soup - My personal favorite! The dumplings were generously sized, with tender, juicy filling swimming in a flavourful broth. Pure comfort in a bowl! Sticky Rice Balls in Sweet Rice Soup - A warm, hearty way to end the meal. The chewy rice balls, filled with fragrant black sesame, added the perfect touch of sweetness. If you're craving authentic Chinese flavours with solid execution, this spot is definitely worth a visit. What's your go-to dish when eating Chinese? Let me know in the comments.

Very simple but delicious, recommended by a chef friend. Soup dumplings are perfect but take a lot of time to prep. The hand pulled noodles are superb, you need to make sure to specify that you want them, otherwise you get hand cut (which are good but are basic lo mein style noodles). Ramen broth is amazing, but very cilantro heavy so if you don’t like cilantro, avoid it! Service was fine, atmosphere wasn’t anything special. Would totally go back.

The portion sizes are large, which is uncommon these days—especially with high inflation. We went on a Saturday afternoon and didn’t have to wait in line. The restaurant is spacious, and the atmosphere is nice. As for the food, the portions are generous, so there’s no need to order too many dishes. The flavor is pretty good as well.

noodles and rose milk tea are good! Good for family style and sharing to try more items :) friendly staff, we came here on Saturday night for dinner and got seats quickly for 10, soup dumplings are decent too. Chill vibes and convenient spot near the hugh, we stopped by after board game days.

a warm and comforting meal :) felt like a hug! i got the wonton soup which felt light and had generous filling. the soup tastes clean and delicious with seaweed, cilantro, bokchoy. the vegetable steamed buns are fluffy and great too.

It’s so good and affordable! We got like five dishes and it came to about ~$30 per person for two people. It definitely deserves its spot on the Michelin recommendation list. I’d recommend the pork soup dumplings and anything Michelin recommendation on the menu.

Chinese restaurant
AYCE Dim Sum Garden 稻香点心坊 is a laid-back restaurant that specializes in dim sum and traditional Chinese dishes. While they don't use traditional pushcarts, their picture menu makes it easier for newcomers to Cantonese cuisine. The dim sum is served fresh and hot, ensuring a delightful dining experience.
I’ve been here twice and both times they were packed! Wait time averaged around 25 mins during my visits - three main reasons: seating is limited, great food, and very affordable. After you’re seated, they ask what tea you want (avoid the tea if you want to save a couple of dollars). They then hand you a menu to pick your items. Choose your selections and then hand the menu back to one of the waiters or waitresses. The first hot dish might take a while to come, so if you’re really hungry, order one of the desserts (I highly recommend the sesame ball). Then gradually the dishes will pile on and you’ll forget all the waiting you’ve endured. If you want to order more food, get another menu. The selections were great! And the price was absolutely unbeatable! Pay in cash and you get their cheapest price. Happy Dim Suming! P.S. highly recommend the following: soy sauce chicken feet, shrimp dumpling, steam pork ribs, crispy shrimp ball, fried stuffed pepper, crispy shrimp with tofu roll, and sesame ball.

this place has a great AYCE deal. on weekends it’s about $5 more but everything on the menu is pretty good. we were lucky enough to have checked off items on the menu while waiting for our seat (about twenty minute wait on a saturday afternoon), so by the time we got our table we had submitted our order for about 12 different dishes. i think for the price we paid and the amount of food we ate, you really can’t beat this deal. come hungry and come with friends and you’re sure to have a good time.
EM — Google review
We waited about 20 minutes before we were seated at a table. For an ayce dim sum place, they had a large selection to choose from and a great price point. We maxed out with ordering pretty much everything we could eat. Worth the trip and wait. Come on an empty stomach. Weekends are slightly more expensive.

Life is short F…..it up! Family, Friend, Flavor Was in New York for an organ nice day for a buddies birthday party so decided to check this place out the next morning. At first you’re wondering for 20 bucks is it really gonna be that good? We were second people in line as a place to open at 10 and we’re speaking to the family in front of us who happen to be locals and they told us that it was their third time there and it was worth it . Having sat down, we ordered our usual dim sum staples not too many to list but I posted pictures but each one of them very large in the fillings and very well cooked. The majority of items were very good you know with the exception of a few new ones that we tried but you know good effort, but for the value, I would say definitely worth checking out.

So where do I start? It wasn't crowded on Friday morning getting seated was not a problem, however getting the food is a problem. its all you can eat at the time it was a holiday so it was $25 per person, they give you a piece of paper to check off what you want and they will bring you the food. Well... the first round of food didn't come until 15 minutes later, second round of food didn't come in until 20 minutes later and the third round of food didn't come in until another 20 minutes later and that's when the check came along with it. When asked if we can add something else to it they say no,saying 90 minutes was the limit but but we waited close to an hour for the food . The food was decent quality as they make everything fresh. But this place does not justify the time and the money we spend,we only eat total of 8 dishes between two people. And we were not allowed to order any food in advance until we ate all the food on the table first. So in conclusion this place may be for someone else but definitely not for us. We were not the only table having this problem, the table next to us had party three and they were even worse it was just waiting playing on their phone. Generally I not like to leave negative reviews and I understand not every restaurant for everybody. Again this restaurant definitely not for me.
ClownFish E — Google review
I came here during a weekday for lunch and there were no problems getting seated. But I can see weekends being an issue with seating. The food was pretty for the most part. With the sole exception of the beef balls. I tried a lot of the different dishes none of them were the best I've ever had, but none of them were inedible either except the beef balls. The beef balls were the worst I've ever had. It was absolutely disgusting, for the love of God, don't get the beef balls here. Otherwise this is a really nice and affordable spot.

We went for the AYCE at $19.99 per person. Note- this is the cash price so remember to bring cash. They had a great selection of dishes but unfortunately there was only two of us so we couldn’t get that many dishes and there were much more to try. I would highly suggest going with a minimum of three people so you can get your money’s worth and a wider selection. Don’t get me wrong, we still got our money’s worth but I would’ve liked to try some more things without already being stuffed. Their shrimp rice rolls and dumplings were best as they used nice large shrimp and the shrimp were deveined. The bamboo roll with tofu skin, chicken feet, and steamed egg custard buns were a few of the better dishes. 1st review- While the soup dumplings, beef tripe, crabmeat with spinach dumpling, and congee were throw aways but we had to eat anyway. The food came out in a timely manner but the table was so small and crowded. Will definitely come back with more people for a bigger variety and a larger table. 2nd review- This place got really packed by noon on a Thursday. Our servers were really efficient and all had a great attitude even with how busy they were. We were a table of four this time and were able to try many more dishes. They also served smaller portions than the last time we were here, which I appreciated since it allowed us to order even more menu items. Note- no more free lobster with a table of four. The soup dumplings tasted way better this time and I was able to try the pork pan-fried dumplings and the pan-fried dumplings were one of the best I’ve ever had. this is saying a lot since this was the last dish to hit the table and I was really full. The black pepper beef rolls were also a winner. Must try! However, the crispy duck rolls, not so much. I was also able to try the braised beef stew noodle soup as they are now serving them in small paper cups. The beef itself was made well and tasty. Unfortunately, there was no love put into the soup. I really wanted to try the beef chow fun, but there was just no more room. Oh well, maybe next time.

Lots of variety! Nice to see lots of staple dimsum and some new ones as well. Some dishes took more time but overall service was quick. Note that if you paid cash, it was $23.99 while card was $25.99 per person.

Guests can indulge in an array of traditional Cantonese dishes, including steamed pork buns, shrimp dumplings, and scallop dumplings. I was invited to a friend’s birthday party, and the environment here is incredibly appealing—luxurious and splendid. The menu features a wide variety of options and an abundance of gourmet dishes. I will definitely choose this place for the next gathering.

Very delicious food with lots of varieties to choose from. I usually order Herbal Chicken Feet to see if the dim sum place did its work, and the one I got here was delicious. The flavor totally went in and it’s soft enough for me to eat, but not to the point that I can’t enjoy the chew part. The place is big and the decorations is luxury. It’s totally good for wedding or big event. The staffs there are very friendly and were nice to kids as well. Would totally come visit again.

Had my mom's 70th bday party here and I couldn't have picked a better place. The food was so good. Cantonese Style and we ordered banquet type food. The service was superb. Our servers were very courteous and made sure that we had everything that we needed and they were prompt in getting us things before we even requested for it. They also have private rooms if you want to have like 1-3 tables. Those rooms have karaoke. I've been there for their dim sum also and that was good. Love that they have an elevator and parking. Have to consider the elderly in my family.

We visited Flushing for all day treats and give Crown One which was recommended by friends a try. The decor is brilliant and wide-spaced with plenty of seating. Crown One served their dim sum by cart which is so authentic and interesting. The quality of food was overall okay with reasonable price.
Hsin W — Google review
Traditional dim sum place with carts and lots of food. They had a great variety and came around pretty often. Carts were often replenished with different dishes where the servers would come back 5 minutes later and had completely different options to choose from. We went on a Saturday around noon. Almost every table was filled. Pork buns and spring rolls were my favorites. The pork buns especially were buttery and filled with delicious pork. We also had stuffed eggplant, shrimp dumplings, beef dumplings, and more. While the food was good, it was under seasoned. I would definitely give this place another chance!

Free parking just pay $ tips. Food for dimsum is the worst I have had in New York. Maybe their catering is good but not dimsum. They can even boil veggies correctly like somebody broken bottle of salt

This is a hidden gem because it’s a little far from Flushing central location but its Chinese foods tastes as good as Michelin 3 stars in Manhattan if it’s not better! I went to a friend’s marriage ceremony and enjoyed the 10 dishes gourmet banquet which consists mostly of expensive seafoods. Will find another chance to visit this place again!

Sanmiwago is a late-night spot in Soho that offers delicious bubble tea, steamed chicken dumplings, and other delectable dishes. The Creamy Earl Latte with regular ice and sugar is a must-try, while the original pork and chive dumplings come highly recommended. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a great dining experience. Prices are reasonable, making it an excellent choice for a late-night meal in New York City.
My No.1 Taiwanese food in the city. Why didn't I try this place earlier?!!! Had fried pork chop, popcorn chicken, and pan-fried dumplings in store, and they were all so good! Soup noodles hit the spot too. Will order from this place more as I want to support authentic Taiwanese place!
Jennifer L — Google review
Almost a hole in the wall dumpling place which was formerly a Chinese bakery. Heared about this place from a food blogger and recommended the original pork and chive dumpling. It did not disappoint the side was great and the slight drizzle of soy sauce was just enough. The popcorn chicken was ok a bit salty with hint of anise cinnamon and some Chinese herb. Asked for a sauce but the lady said it was already in it which she could have meant part of the marinade. Price is reasonable. Their food is serve at your table.

The taro milk tea is subtle, not very strong, but the tapioca was fresh and perfect. Scallion pancake was very thin and crispy, but super overpriced for what it was. Tasty, but I'd skip it next time. The dumplings are great. Very juicy and with a decent amount of meat. Could be more, but the flavor was outstanding. I will definitely be back to try more.
Trie H — Google review
The ube ice cream might be the best ice cream I've ever had. Ube flavor is such a different and unique flavor from what I'm used to, and it's not too sweet; just right The dumplings were very onion-forward and I love that. I think they put some chili oil on it or in it--I'm used to eating very spicy things, but it still managed to move my needle on the spice level. Stopped here for a quick lunch on my way through, and very glad I did. Ordering from the kiosk is easy and straightforward, you're in and out inside of 20-25 minutes. I will be back to try other items on your menu.

First time here and the food was very flavorful. The downside was both meats were a bit chewy but I would definitely comeback to try more things on the menu! Also tried the herbal tea and I thought it was good, just not very sweet. My friend enjoyed it a lot though!

Sanmiwago is the kind of place that feels like a warm embrace for your taste buds. Their Taiwanese pork on white rice (the Lu Rou Fan style braised pork rice bowl) is absolutely outstanding — comfort food at its finest.

Amazing reliable spot in the neighborhood! Dumplings are the perfect ratio of dough to filling (especially the veggie ones) and the chili soy sauce is perfection. Slightly steeper prices compared to other spots in the area but they are the only ones open till 2 am. The staff is kind and funny especially Steven! Great service. Love them!
Devika G — Google review
The food was mediocre at best, it isn't anything too special, just a regular meal. I didn't really like the braised roast pork at all because it isn't as advertised, I got a bunch of tiny pellets of meat instead that just tasted sour/tangy which wasn't my taste to be fair so I couldn't finish it. Egg skin tasted sour, too. I do recommend the beef noodles as they did taste good 👍 $40 for everything included tipping $5 and taxes $2 not sure if its really affordable $7 for popcorn chicken

Mee Sum Cafe has been a local favorite for over 50 years, serving classic Cantonese dishes that remain true to their origins in China. This old Chinatown spot is a no-frills lunch counter where you can enjoy authentic and affordable quick bites. While embracing special events, it continues to attract OG neighborhood regulars with its delicious sauteed cauliflower, salted chicken, congee, bao, and dumplings.
My second time patronizing them in new york city chinatown. The salted chicken rice is damn damn good. Will definitely get them again when im back in newyork. The meicai kou rou is decent and the steamed pork spareribs is exceptional too! The flavour is marinated enough and the meat is soft. Prices for meesum is absolutely fair and please head over if you are around the vicinity. They have been here for a very long time if you look at the furnishings in the store. Highly recommended for e fresh food and old school vibes! :)

Known for its traditional Cantonese comfort food, Mee Sum serves up hearty meals with most dishes under $10. It’s a no-frills, nostalgic diner-style spot that locals have cherished for generations. During my visit, Hing Jea, Mee Sum’s manager who has been working there for over 20 years, made everyone feel right at home. She warmly greeted customers like old friends. She even treated my boyfriend a free lemon ginger drink. The restaurant is small, but they serve a variety of food like dim sum, congee, steamed rice, and zongzi. We got their most famous toisan style salted chicken rice. The ginger scallion sauce was best enjoyed with rice. The chicken had many bones but it was still delicious. The skin of the har gaw was a little bit dried out. I guessed their dim sum has been sitting in the steamer since early morning, as they open at 5 or 6 am every day.

This is old Chinatown! No frills lunch counter, cash only, delicious food. Came here for a Sunday comedy show which was great. During the week this is a regular breakfast and lunch counter where OG neighborhood folk come for authentic, cheap quick bites. They are embracing these special events now too to keep up with rising rents. The sauteed cauliflower and the salted chicken were so incredibly delicious. The congee was extra tasty. Bao and dumplings were so good too. I need to come back again. Hope Mee Sum stays for a long time

Mee Sum Cafe feels like a time capsule — humble exterior, bustling interior. We ordered the har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai, pork ribs, and minced beef with egg rice. Everything tasted fresh and handmade, especially the siu mai and pork ribs — savory, juicy, and not greasy at all. We were a bit disappointed by the milk tea (too watery), but overall, for under $30 for two people, it’s a steal. Perfect for a quick, no-frills dim sum fix with old-school vibes.
Maydonshoots — Google review
This place all about food as utility. Nothing fanciful. Its basic value for money. Food choices are mostly a mix of basic cantonese diner style staples. The taste isnt bad but its not really anything to recommend either. Rice dumplings, rice rolls, porridge, pork and shrimp dim sum dishes were slightly below average. The grilled fish was expensive $13 for a 9 inch grilled fish. Taste wise, its fine. Nothing to write home about. For the curious who wants to experience a typical Hong Kong diner feel, this is probably one of the last places in Chinatown to do it.
Frank Y — Google review
An establishment for the elderly. the entrance is so crowded with junk that it feels like the restaurant is trying to hide itself from the general public. Recently, I’ve been trying to hide less, reach out to people, be optimistic, excited, I ordered way too much food. The eggs over rice was good, the roast pork rice roll ok, I actually liked the coffee, love is easy.
Haley — Google review
We passed by on our way home and found this empty restaurant. The rice was light with a touch of salt from the fish. While the small fish slices were decent, the pork patty was rather bland. The portion is sufficiently filling

I put 5 star for the value for money their food. The last time I came here was 25-26 years ago. The food is still the same, taken over by the family younger generations, hence the food quality is still the same, yet the price reasonable

Joe's Shanghai is a popular eatery located in Chinatown, New York. It offers a variety of Shanghai dishes, with its specialty being the famous soup dumplings. The restaurant has a simple setting but is known for its authentic and delicious food. Visitors can enjoy hand-rolled soup dumplings filled with pork or crab and pork, along with other Shanghai-style specialties like scallion pancakes and fried rice.
Highly recommend this place! It’s my favorite Chinese restaurant in NYC! I’ve been here multiple times and will definitely be back. The food tastes incredibly authentic - just like what I had in Shanghai. Everyone’s favorite dishes are the pork soup dumplings and the sticky crispy beef with orange peel - both are absolute must-tries. The crab soup dumplings are good too, though the pork ones are definitely the standout. Portions are generous, so I’d recommend sharing one main dish between two people. Just a heads-up: it’s cash only, and gratuity is already included in the bill.
Natalia — Google review
What happened to Joe's Shanghai! It used to be SOOOO GOOD but the soup dumplings are so bad. Very sloppy job. We ordered 4 orders of crabmeat soup dumplings and some of the soup are even spilled out and the flavor is lacking. Very watery and not good at all. We also the peanut sesame cold noodles and there was a tiny piece of plastic in there but we didn't even bother saying anything. We order their special shrimp in honey glaze sauce, it was okay. It's sad that Joe Shanghai's soup dumplings went down tremendously. Very disappointing.

I recently tried Joe’s Shanghai and the food was amazing! The chicken was incredibly tender, and the sauce was packed with flavor—it really stood out. The white rice was perfect: soft, fluffy, and not clumped together like it usually is at other places. The portion size was generous, easily enough for two people. Overall, a delicious and satisfying meal. On top of that, the delivery guy was excellent—prompt, friendly, and made sure everything arrived hot and in great shape.

FRIED PORK! Ok so apparently they are extremely known for their soup dumplings which we obviously ordered… and yes they were very good. However the fried pork entree which we split amongst 6 grown men, was by far the best pork I have eaten. The pork was served with a side of salt and sauce. Mouth watering and fried to perfection. The restaurant is very big and was packed which is always a good sign. I have nothing but amazing things to say. My one suggestion is to ask for a side of chili oil. Not too spicy but just enough kick.

My husband has been wanting to come here since we arrived to NY.  We went this past Sunday night with two of our friends.  We arrived around 7pm and only had to wait about 15-20mins before they were able to seat us - considering this place is always busy and there's no way to reserve a table in advance it felt pretty quick to get a table.  We ordered a number of dishes to share, my favorites were the braised pork and the pork+crab soup dumplings.  We also tried the chicken fried rice, chow main noodles, more dumplings, and pancake.  This place is cash ONLY, so make sure you stop by the ATM first.  It was a rainy and cold Sunday in NY so this was the perfect warm and cozy meal.

They are very popular so there was a little bit of a wait but its definitely worth waiting for! They also only take cash but do not worry because there is ATMs on site. That being said yoj definitely have to stop in here for the soup dumplings! The general tso chicken is also delicious a little heat with quick nice sweet crunch! Definitely would go back!

Dissapointing... Went there for a late evening finishing dish... We had: 1. Braised beef cold apetiser 2. Vegetable dumplings 3. Shrimp soup We disliked: 1. Mediocre, fatty piece of Beef with acceptable taste, as a cold starter tastes relatively weak, no side at all, would go well with a sauce or vegetable, bun... 2. Missed sou sauce or any other sauce, very plain 3. Absolutely tasteless, no seasoning at all, we left most of it untouched... Appalled by the first 3 dishes, decided not to go for the main. Absolutely appalling for such an expensive chinese restaurant. The only really tasty thing was a Heineken, which came to the table only after a second reminder to the waiter...

Everything was good, but not five star. Service was profesional, friendly, and quick enough. Quality was good. At least the place was clean and we didn’t have any stomach issue the day after. Food was all alright. We ordered soup dumplings, scallion pancake (that didn’t have much scallion), Shanghai fried rice, and Shanghai lo mien. The fried rice was the best among the four. Other patrons were not loud. So that’s a plus. You also don’t hear all the noise from the kitchen. They also offered cash payment that’s less than the credit card one. So overall, it’s more like 4.3/5.0.

You know, when you're scrambling for a last-minute birthday dinner in New York, you don't always expect perfection. But Shanghai 21? They squeezed our lively bunch in like seasoned pros, and what followed was a truly hilarious and delicious experience. First off, let's talk about the "non-alcoholic" part. We discovered this little detail upon arrival, which for a birthday dinner, was... an interesting twist! Imagining a sober toast with sparkling water was pretty amusing, but honestly, the food was so outrageously good, we barely noticed the lack of bubbly. And what food it was! We gorged ourselves on the most gorgeous, delicious Chinese food I've had in ages. Every dish was a winner, from the perfectly steamed dumplings to the flavourful noodles. And the best part? The bill didn't make our eyes water – it was all incredibly reasonably priced. So if you're looking for a fantastic, funny, and surprisingly sober culinary adventure in NYC, Shanghai 21 is your spot. Just be prepared for a very clear-headed evening!

Not bad at all! The sesame noodles were definitely the best thing we got out of the soup dumplings and fried dumplings. The seating is a bit limited due to it being busy, and you can only pay via Venmo and cash which wasn’t a concern for us but may be for others. It was good though!

Absolutely delicious, affordable find. As other reviewers mentioned, definitely get the fried tiny buns, though they are anything BUT tiny! Fluffy, chewy, flavorful with a delightfully crunchy bottom. I also loved the cold sesame noodles and would order again. We also got the vegetable fried rice, which was good but the buns and noodles I preferred. I also got the sesame chicken. Love the flavor and amount of sauce on the chicken. The tea they start the table off with was such a refreshing treat and the perfect way to start a meal. The food came out SO incredibly fast. It was amazing. Service was friendly and punctual. A great Chinatown spot I will definitely keep on my list of favorites.

The restaurant is small, but its simple atmosphere and décor complement the dining experience. The bustling, noisy, and energetic environment adds to the authentic charm of a true Chinatown visit.

Tasty Dumpling is a small, no-frills eatery in New York's Chinatown that offers budget-friendly Chinese dishes like dumplings, soups, and pancakes. The signature dish, the pan-fried dumplings, stands out for its balanced texture and flavorful filling of pork and chive. Despite the unassuming ambiance and limited seating, Tasty Dumpling has gained a loyal following for its delicious yet affordable offerings.
I fell in love with the dumplings here , absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful, and super affordable. It’s a no-frills spot, but the food speaks for itself. Just a heads up: they only take cash, but there’s an ATM right next to the entrance, and honestly, it’s 100% worth it. Quick service, amazing dumplings, a true Chinatown gem I’ll keep coming back to!

Unassuming little spot tucked near the Manhattan courthouse—like, really unassuming. But don’t let the looks fool you. This place is the real deal and supplies dumplings to half of Manhattan for a reason. We grabbed the pork & chive dumplings—crispy, hot, and packed with flavor. Doused them in soy/vinegar and a little sriracha, and wow. Just perfect. It’s ridiculously cheap, lightning fast, and right next to Columbus Park—ideal for soaking up a Saturday. Forget overpriced dumpling shops or Panda Express. This is the source, and it’s 100% worth the trip.
John A — Google review
It’s a really small place, but trust me—the food is amazing, and the prices are even better. We had all of this food for just $24, and we were all so full. The taste was great, and while the ambience is small, the food definitely makes up for it. The only thing I didn’t love was the dumpling dough—it was a bit too thick. It was so thick that I ended up just eating the meat with a little bit of dough and leaving the rest on the side. I personally feel like the fried dumplings have less dough than the boiled ones, so I’d probably go for those next time. Other than that, everything was really good, especially for the price.

I heard about this place on an affordable eats list and it did not disappoint. The four dumplings for two dollars deal is incredible and the dumplings are so good. I also got the pancake with pork, and it was fantastic. It has pork, chives, and cucumber. Eat it hot and fresh and you won’t be disappointed.
Hannah C — Google review
We had the shrimp dumplings and scallion pancakes. The dumplings were not boiled properly. The sides of it still had raw dough taste and made it super chewy. The scallion pancakes, however, tasted good but had better ones. The ambiance could be better.

Our food tour guide brought us here and it is a small eatery that we would never had visited if it wasn’t for our guide. The dumplings were delicious and we would definitely go back here again! Out of all the places we visited with our guide this was probably one of our favorites.

I went to try their dumplings, and they were delicious! I got 4 dumplings for just $2, which was a deal for me. This spot was recommended to me by my friends and it definitely did not disappoint. I ordered the chive and pork dumplings. There was no wait and I got my food really quickly. Seating was limited since the place was packed, I want on a Saturday though. Maybe other days will be more sitting.

Among my favorite dumplings in the world. Service is slow because they cook to order. Inexpensive and no frills. But dang tasty. Try the dill and pork fried dumplings

Little Alley is a cozy spot in Murray Hill, Manhattan, offering a taste of authentic Shanghai cuisine. The restaurant's brick-walled setting provides a charming backdrop for enjoying traditional dishes like plump soup dumplings and pan-fried pork dumplings with crisp bottoms. Other must-try items include the Lion Head dish featuring minced pork, salted duck egg, and sweet sauce, as well as the Shanghai stir-fried noodles packed with shrimp, pork, mushrooms, and bok choy.
Cute and trendy and packed with every demographic. I highly recommend the cocktail the windmill. Creamy, frothy, light floral taste. Like a summer Coquito. Soup Dumplings were fresh, doct and flavorful. Perfect. The cauliflower was spicy and fresh and crispy and beyond amazing. The lions head aka meatball was huge, glazed, soft and flavorful. Definitely a fub thing to try if a foodie. The pork buns were fresh and soft. Tasty. Top tier service. Thanks to adam and may.

Almost authentic Shanghai dishes which are restricted by the local supplies and frozen imported ingredients. The chief creates the dishes much better than the big name international Shanghai style restaurant in the basement, especially the XiaoLongBao. This is place one can enjoin the moment when dine Real Shanghai dishes. The dishes with the photo below can be rated 9 out of 10. Friendly and knowledge waiter.

Decent but no wow factor. Out of the 4 dishes we got, my favorite was probably the ribs. The poached dumplings in chili oil were good but not spicy at all. The curry chicken dumplings were a generous size but didn’t have a lot of flavor. The crab was a bit too briny for me. Service was really good though and prices are decent.
Hayli B — Google review
It's a nice place with premium priced dishes, OK quality food. The smoked carp has a strong earthy taste (土腥味)and overcooked; it doesn't deserves a premium price. The Xiao Long Bao (pork soup dumplings) are not my type since their wraps are too thick. A surprise is that the restaurant offers a curry fried rice where it's difficult to find among other Chinese restaurants.

Little Alley in New York, NY. I love the story at Little Alley. Little Alley is a group of NYC-inhabiting Shanghaier who grew up eating and cooking great Shanghainese food. Little Alley is translated from the Chinese word “弄堂” or “long tang”, which are the narrow, interconnected alleyways unique to Shanghai. Delicious food, amazing drinks, and the sweetest staff at Little Alley in NYC! Everything we ordered hit the spot and I loved the vibe! 🌀Pork Soup Dumplings- Pork, Ginger, Oyster Sauce, Sesame Oil Pork, Ginger, Oyster Sauce, Sesame Oil 🌀Shredded Pork with Mu Shu Pancake- Shredded pork, Scallion, Cucumber, Mu Shu Pancake, Oyster Sauce, Garlic, Sesame $21 🌀Stir Fried Bok Choy with Garlic 🌀Little alley Mongolian Beef- Shredded Beef, Onion, Green and Red Pepper, Tomato Sauce. Dim sum restaurant
Pacific Palace is a bustling restaurant in Brooklyn, offering delicious Cantonese classics and mouthwatering dim sum. Located in Sunset Park's 8th Avenue, it provides an authentic dining experience in the heart of Brooklyn Chinatown. The restaurant is housed in a repurposed old bank with beautiful architecture, although some diners noted that the mismatched plastic and paper plate settings were a point of dissatisfaction. The spacious second-floor restaurant features high ceilings and offers both stairs and an elevator for access.
This place is located upstairs from a bank and never noticed it until spotting it from across the street one day. It's a typical big banquet hall-style set-up with the ladies walking around the floor with the carts. A lot of the great dim sum classics.
Paulo L — Google review
The restaurant itself is on the second floor. There are stairs and an elevator. Really high ceiling, somewhat cavernous. We went at an odd time, between lunch and dinner. Some of the lights were off and were turned on. Some of the waiters and workers were sitting down prepping food, i think? The food was amazing. Their menu is huge, lots to choose from. Lots of varieties.
M.T. W — Google review
We came here for dinner and had sticker shock but turned out the portion was large and probably meant to be shared family style. I liked their Peking style pork chop in particular. Just to echo other reviewer’s report about checking their final bill carefully. We were charged an extra item but it was quickly fixed.
Peter H — Google review
The atmosphere was phenomenal. They repurpose an old bank and kept the beautiful architecture. The dim sum was delicious. The cart ladies were fast and attentive. Always around when we were low on food and personally brought out fresh items to our table when they were out of it on the cart. Although, there were 3 points of dissatisfaction. 1 being that the how elegant the place looked, the silverware and plate settings did not match. They were plastic and paper plates, one and done kind. 2 their beef short ribs was overly peppered and the meat was very dry even though it was smother in oily sauce. And lastly 3, the bathroom was not well maintained. Though better than most dim sum places bathroom. With that, it was loud and lively when we first arrive from all the other tables, but soon once everyone left, it got eerily quiet and not as welcoming. With all that said, overall it was a great experience. Most all of the food was delicious and decent sizes for the price. The decor was elegantly beautiful. And the service was prompt and attentive.
Tommy Z — Google review
If you go when they first open it's quiet and slow and the carts are parked one table away from wherever you sit. Generally the food is good, but the quality could be better. HOWEVER, their plain rice roll, which is pictured, was fantastic because it's made fresh.
A L — Google review
The food was great, but the server was dishonest. We ordered pork dumplings ($5.95), chow fun (photo), and chicken&corn soup. In the bill, it had shrimp dumplings ($6.95) instead, I know it's just one dollar, but the server lied, saying it was the same price. He knew what he was doing. Be aware of their prices

Shu Jiao Fu Zhou is a modest Chinese cafe in Manhattan that offers a simple yet authentic dining experience. The restaurant is renowned for its affordable and delicious dumplings, which are made by hand on-site. While the menu may be limited, it features classic options like pork & chive dumplings and pork & cabbage dumplings, as well as flavorful wonton soup. In addition to their renowned dumplings, Shu Jiao Fu Zhou also serves delectable noodles with peanut sauce.
Shu Jiao Fu Zhou is a standout culinary gem tucked away in New York’s Chinatown, delivering authentic Fuzhou flavors with unbeatable value. Visitors consistently rave about the steamed dumplings and pork & chive dumplings, praised for being juicy, flavorful, and affordable. Many have pointed out that even during rush hour, service is impressively swift—one diner mentioned being in and out within five minutes. The peanut butter noodles are another fan favorite, striking a perfect balance between savory and comforting. Several reviewers mentioned how these dishes transported them back to their childhood in China, which speaks volumes about the authenticity. The restaurant’s prices—often under $10—make it a haven for food lovers on a budget. One guest exclaimed their meal was cheaper than a latte, and another said they could feast for less than $20. Despite being packed most of the time, customers appreciate the fast service and piping hot food. While the atmosphere varies in reviews—some find it cozy, others note it could be cleaner—the food consistently earns top marks. There’s also a cash-only policy, so visitors should come prepared. Critique: The only downside? Their official website seems to be down, which is inconvenient for those looking to preview the menu or plan their visit. Hopefully, they get that fixed soon.
Brian H — Google review
I paid $8 total for both the dumplings and the peanut noodles. I waited no more than 5 minutes to get my order — the service is very efficient. The noodles are definitely worth it, and the portion is filling. The dumplings are delicious, and so is their sauce. There’s no table service and the restaurant is crowded, but once you taste the food, you understand why. I’ll definitely be back!

I don’t know where else you can find $5 dumplings plate that tasted good and served on the spot ! The chives and shrimp ones are yummy. We ordered 3 different types. The fried ones tasted the best. The chicken ones are so so. All good value. It was a mistake trying the beef tribe noodles - couldn’t eat it. The minced beef in the noodles soup also not to my liking. I’m a big fan of fish balls but fuzhou fishball has a gluey texture that I do not like. I also don’t care for the filling or flavor. The lines are long (between 6-8pm). It’s like the happening place for pre party and college kids, tourists etc it’s cheap. Portions are surprisingly decent. Cash only. ATM machine right there if you need cash.

This definitely is a go-to for the quintessential Chinese dumpling in Chinatown. Lots of food for $5.00-$6.00, fresh, the original fast food! We ordered noodles in peanut sauce, won ton soup, and of course , dumplings, each order with a healthy supply of dumplings: 🥟pork chive dumplings (fried), vegetable dumplings (steamed) and shrimp, chive and egg (steamed) dumplings. Altogether with tax -$32.00! This isn’t your gourmet, fancy dumpling place - this is your nice portions size of decent dumplings on a budget place. The won ton soup and peanut butter noodles were okay too and as much as we enjoyed the shrimp, chive and egg dumplings - we deconstructed to confirm - no shrimps were actually used in the dumplings - so, truthfully, the chive and egg dumplings were delicious! 😋

Very good price/quality ratio! I tried the pork dumplings, which were really juicy and they came with this delicious sauce. The service is also really quick. I think the food was done like 2 minutes after I ordered or sum. It isn´t the coziest place where you sit down and enjoy your food, but it´s fine for a quick bite.

Cash only! I tried the peanut butter noodles and fried pork dumplings with only $8.25 —both were great deals and super satisfying. The noodles were springy with a light, savory peanut sauce, simple but filling. The dumplings stole the show: crispy bottoms, juicy pork inside, and perfect with vinegar soy sauce. No-frills, hearty flavors, and unbeatable prices make this spot a go-to for quick, comforting eats. Me Asian approved!
Samara L — Google review
I came here on a Tuesday night, just stumbling into it, and it was hard to find a seat, that’s how I knew it was going to be good. I ate the wheat noodles with peanut butter sauce and tried some of my friend’s steamed vegetable dumplings. Both exceeded my expectations. The food looks delicious because it is. I spent a total of $4.50 on the noodles and a bottle of water. This place is cash only so come prepared. Great and quick counter service. The atmosphere is not very cozy or inviting but when the food is as good and affordable as it is here it doesn’t matter. Counting down the days I’ll get to go again. Highly recommend in general and for a quick and tasty meal.

I was recommended to stop by to experience some authentic Chinatown experience. It’s amazing how they can maintain the price. Obviously, this restaurant isn’t going to offer cream of crop Chinese cuisine experience. However, I was impressed by the quality of the food given the price. To be clear, the quality of the food is going to resemble that of a food truck. But there’s no other place that beats their price.

Mountain House Flushing 川山甲 is a vibrant destination for those seeking a group-friendly dining experience filled with authentic Sichuan flavors. I am not a really big fan of Chinese food since I have ate it a lot of times, but this place changed my perspective. The food was so good that even I was shocked about the tasting. Mountain House is such a gem! The dim lighting and cozy atmosphere make it a perfect spot to enjoy with friends, family, or on a date. It’s a bit of a trip from Manhattan, but the subway ride is easy and absolutely worth it. It could even make for a fun day trip if you live in Brooklyn or Manhattan. The restaurant is also close to LGA, so it’s a great stop before a flight. The food is delicious and full of flavor. A Hidden Gem for Sichuan Food Lovers- I give a soiled 4 for this reason If you’re craving real Sichuan flavors, Mountain House in Flushing is a fixer. The food is packed with bold, spicy flavors that taste just like what you would find in Chengdu — not watered down for American tastes. From the numbing kick of the peppercorns to the deep, savory spices, every dish feels authentic and carefully made. The atmosphere is cozy & homey, with a rustic vibe that makes you feel like you have stepped into a mountain village. It’s the kind of place that doe not try too hard to impress — it just delivers seriously good food with a rich culture flavor I recommend the dry pot dishes and dishes with their house chili oil. Whether you are dining with friends or showing someone what real Sichuan cuisine with a cultural connection is all about, this place will not disappoint if you have the sweet tooth

PappaRich is a Malaysian restaurant that offers a wide variety of dishes that will surely satisfy your taste buds. Their dishes are mostly on the spicy side, but this enhances the flavor of the dish. The staff is nice and welcoming, and overall it was a good experience.
This was our first time at PappaRich and we really enjoyed the food there. The wait staff were very friendly and food came out very promptly. We had ordered the Hainanese Chicken, the crispy tofu and flat rice noodle in gravy. The chicken was good but we really enjoyed the crispy tofu and the little one really liked the rice noodle in gravy. There were several other dishes that looked good so will need to come back and try those!
Anny R — Google review
The Malaysian food was great. Started with the milk tea and it was creamy, right amount of tea flavor, and not too sweet. Then the Buttered Kaya Toast arrived and paired perfectly. We also ordered the roti Canai and it was flaky and fluffy. The Nasi Lemark was a little underwhelming, mainly ordered for its appearance. The hainanese chicken was on point though. My mom from HK said it wasn't tender enough though lol. Definitely would come back.
Jason M — Google review
We came to this restaurant with my nephew and his wife. My nephew's wife discovered this place. She's craving some good Malaysian food. The restaurant is serving excellent authentic Malaysian food. I've tried many Malaysian restaurants. This one came at the top. It will be hard to return to the other places now that I have found this one. This restaurant has the closest Malay flavors in its dishes: the best nasi lemak and the best Penang char keow teow. We ordered an oyster omelette but didn't care because it had more eggs than oysters, so the taste became a regular one. We had roti canai, two types of nasi lemak, and two types of char keow teow. I had nasi lemak with shrimp; my nephew's wife had a regular nasi lemak. Nasi lemak is a traditional Malaysian dish. Most people eat this in the morning, but Malaysia's portion is much smaller. Here, however, it is an entree. Best nasi lemak! The chili sauce was authentic. The savory tastes of most dishes, from chicken curry to shrimp chili, were hard to find. Roti canai, another dish that most Malaysians eat for breakfast, is the best appetizer! Roti means bread. It's not easy to prepare this bread. We liked Penang char keow teow better than the seafood one. Hubby tried the Penang char keow teow from my nephew's order and made a mistake by ordering the seafood char keow teow for himself. That’s fine, it was still delicious but the Penang one was the best! Janet was our waitress from Malaysia. She's lovely and knowledgeable about the food. The restaurant is nice, huge, covering half of the block. It's on the second floor. Although you can see the restaurant from the street, the entrance is not on the main street but on the sides, and there's only one side has a working elevator, while the other has the stairs. Either way, you'll find your way up there. We will be back. I can't wait to try more Malaysian dishes at this restaurant. We had a great time. Excellent food and service! Thanks!
Nora — Google review
This place is one of the few places to get authentic Halal Malaysian food that’s really good. The restaurant was extremely clean and the vibes are great. The waiters and kitchen staff was really kind and nice food came out clean and tasty. I’d rank it a solid B+ for the food not as good as I had in Malaysia, but I’d come back and invite my friends.
Rotimi L — Google review
I use to be a frequent diner here but not so much lately. The food is still good but the prices have increased drastically. This is Flushing so there are many options if an establishment does NOT pay attention to the needs of its regular customers. Service was a bit off as the appetizer skewers arrived 10 minutes after the entree. Staff was polite. No tea is offered here but you can request hot water. Not busy for a Sunday evening compared to other venues. Would return if prices return back to reflect the vicinity.
Frugal C — Google review
I go here about every other month and sometimes once a month. I love the food! A lot of classic Malaysian dishes along with some dishes with a twist! It’s in a good location and close to so many other spots so it’s good to go if you’re hanging out with friends or want to explore the area. The service is good and fast. My favorite is the curry chicken.
Jason — Google review
Delicious place for Malaysian food. The portions are huge! They have so many things to choose from you can’t go wrong. The roti was so good and I highly recommend getting this with any entree. The entree themselves are huge and can easily be shared between two people. Highly recommend coming here especially after sky view mall.

Food here is delicious!! I had the curry laksa with chicken and I added shrimp for $5. My family tried the rendang, lamb curry, fried chicken and half fried chicken (looked like Peking duck), roti, and satay. Everything was so flavorful and well seasoned. We all shared with each other to try the most of everything. The staff was highly attentive, polite and helpful with ordering. Only complaint is the restaurant had quite a few flies which I thought was odd during December. Highly recommend this place. Very good portions and prices

Shanghai You Garden is a relaxed Chinese restaurant that specializes in Shanghai cuisine, offering a variety of specialties such as dim sum and Peking Duck. In addition to its Flushing location, it also operates in Bayside and offers frozen dim sum for local delivery.
This a great spot for xiaolongbao and Peking duck! There's nothing quite like having a Chinese feast. Pick whatever you think looks nice from the menu and it'll be on your table in minutes. Comfortable and relaxed Chinese dining area. The soup and the watercress dumplings were great. The rice noodles and meat buns were fairly standard. The soup dumplings were on the cooler side, so were less than ideal. The closing soup was a bit on the sweet side

I submitted a Peking Duck. She told me to sit comfortably in the desired seat so that I could wait comfortably while waiting for Peking Duck. I ate it seven hours later, but the juice was still alive and not cold at all. They also brought a lot of green onion, cucumber bread, and black sauce, so it wasn't lacking at all. It was so delicious that I couldn't take a picture because I was in a hurry to eat it. I'll replace it with a menu photo 🤦‍♀️ I recommend it !!! 😋

I've been here 3 times. Once with co-workers, a friend and then family. Each time was a different experience - all positive. I may have even reviewed this sometime ago. My first time coming here I came with co-workers and it being my first time they recommended certain dishes which I really loved. Soup dumplings, and rice noodles. My second visit was with a good friend of mine and we chose completely different dishes like the Peking Duck and spicy garlic ribs and a veggie fried rice. Phenomenal. My third visit I came with family. I pretty much repeated the same meal that I had with my friend but we also ate the sesame chicken, duck buns, more soup dumplings and spicy noodles. This restaurant does not disappoint. Soup dumplings are free if you order over a certain amount and it's not even a high amount, the wait time is minimal and the food is just so good. My son is a huge fan. Will be coming here a 4th time for sure!

The “Shuanghuang noodles” were quite disappointing — this is not how they are usually made in Shanghai. The cold fish also didn’t taste good and I wouldn’t recommend ordering it. On the bright side, the service staff were very polite and attentive. But as for the kitchen, I really hope the chefs can refine their cooking skills a bit more.

This location has recently become a shared space for two restaurants—You Garden and Corner28—in Flushing they are still physically located in two separate buildings across the street from each other. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has noticeably declined. Both my wife and I ordered noodle soups: fish with pickled vegetables noodle soup and pork chop noodle soup, which turned out to be very bland and lacked depth of flavor. The soup dumplings were also disappointing—the skin was thick and doughy, far from the delicate texture we expected. We also ordered takeout. The jellyfish with turnip didn’t taste anything like I remembered—it was completely off—and the spicy bamboo shoots were bland and lacked any real spice or flavor. The only acceptable dish is the Yang Chou fried rice. I did order a Char Siu (BBQ pork) rice from Corner28. It was decent in taste, and the portion was generous. However, because it came from Corner28 and not You Garden, I had to pay separately, even though the same cashier handled both orders. Overall, it’s sad to see the decline in quality that used to be among our go-to places. Hopefully, they can improve and return to their previous standards.

A good friend invited us for lunch. Had SLB,1/2 peking duck, scallion pancakes & a panfried shanghai noodle dish. SLB could've been more juicy, skin was on thick side. Duck skin could've been more crisper. Pancakes & noodles were good. Menu has many different & interesting dishes to try next time.

Dim sum restaurant
Nestled in a charming, narrow brick-lined space, Dim Sum Bar offers an inviting atmosphere that beautifully marries traditional Chinese cuisine with modern New York City flair. This easygoing eatery serves up a delightful array of classic dim sum dishes and small plates, all crafted from fresh ingredients. While the prices may lean towards the higher side, many patrons find the flavorful offerings well worth it. The shrimp dim sums are particularly popular among visitors, showcasing bold flavors that leave a lasting impression.
Loved this this! Honestly super affordable and the food is delicious. A lot of their menu is gluten free and safe for celiacs. My sister and I both have Celiac and we had no issues any time we ate here. We went all out and ordered a ton of dim sum and it ended up being less than $100 (including tip) for four people. Definitely a great find and kind of a hole in the wall, but a place to cherish!

Loved the dim sums at this place. They were very flavorful and tasty. It is a bit on the pricier side. The shrimp dim sums are my absolute favorite. Dishes other than dim sum are a bit or miss. My friend had a noodle dish (not pictured) and it did not have any flavor unfortunately. I’d recommend this place for their amazing dim sums long as you don’t mind it being a bit pricey. This is not a cart system dim sum place!

Very good food at a reasonable price. I recently stopped by for lunch to find a bustling dining atmosphere. Following a small wait, I was seated. Service remained prompt and courteous. I mostly enjoyed the red chili oil chicken dumplings. I felt they could have been spicier, but they were quite tasty.

The food here is delicious! Serive also very good. It's a simple menu but they make everything very well. The decor is super cute and tables are far apart enough for privacy. They have half price beers on Tuesdays, so take advantage of that! They literally do dim sum all day, and you order on a sheet of paper too! Great visit
Cadee Q — Google review
A pleasant little no-nonsense spot. The menu is extremely wide and partnered with a solid tea selection. Scallion pancakes are great, dumplings look incredible but lean slightly toward the boring side (vegetarian versions at least), the steamed rice noodles in peanut sauce are insanely delicious! Staff is on point and always nice. A great place to sit down for a snack or 20.
Alf E — Google review
A modest dim sum place with big flavor! We only got to try a few items and found the homemade turnip cake and the lava bao the best in the city. The flavor was authentic and has its own character. The staff was friendly and the sitting area simple and cozy. I definitely want to go back and explore the menu.
Chia-Yi C — Google review
Best place for post cocktails or a late meal after work. The chicken feet is a must for those with a more adventurous palat and the their house chilli sauce is a smoky delight. They also sell the chill sauce as per order.

Ordered delivery: The food came quickly and was still hot. We ordered an assortment of dumplings and the sesame chicken (which was not my favorite but still good). The dim sum is very good but also quite expensive. Not the same as going to flushing but definitely hits the spot if you’re craving dim sum and want to stay local.

Dumpling restaurant

North Dumpling is a small Chinese dumpling shop located near Seward Park. It's easy to miss with its simple red awning that reads 'Homemade Dumpling,' but a swinging yellow sign with the name North Dumpling helps identify it. The counter-service spot offers a limited seating area and is perfect for a quick bite or takeout. The menu includes guotie, zhajiangmian, shaobing, and flavorful dumplings made fresh on-site.
My first venture into Chinatown led me to North Dumpling, and what a discovery it was! After navigating the bustling streets, I was looking for a place with good reviews that offered a hassle-free experience, and North Dumpling delivered perfectly. Stepping inside, I was greeted by a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the service was super efficient. On a chilly day, their hot and sour soup felt like it had magical healing properties – it was absolutely delicious and comforting. But the real stars of the show were, of course, the dumplings. I opted for the pork and chive pan-fried dumplings, and they were, in a word, phenomenal. Juicy, soft, and packed with flavor, these dumplings are truly something I think about daily. At 10 for just $3-4, they are an absolute steal and offer incredible value for the taste. I also tried a chive pancake, which was equally "bussin'" as some would say – perfectly cooked and a great complement to the dumplings. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was served hot and ready in minutes. While it's a small, "hole-in-the-wall" spot, the quality of the food and the friendly service more than make up for it. Many people opt for takeout, which is a great idea, especially if you want to enjoy them in a nearby park. I seriously regretted not grabbing more to take home. I will absolutely be back to North Dumpling; it's a 10/10 experience!

my first time in chinatown and i just went thru Google trying to see a place with pretty good reviews that wouldn't be a hassle to get food from (i had just come from the madness that is the viral pork bun) and north dumplings was in a pretty good walking distance. my fingers were freezing. i got some hot and sour soup, 10 dumplings for $3-4 and a chive pancake? baby BUSS DOWN! so so good i think about these dumplings daily. i shouldve grabbed some to take home. 10/10 i will absolutely be back.
Very P — Google review
You really can’t beat these prices, just $4 for noodles with meat sauce! It’s a very humble location, so don’t expect bold or complex flavors, but that simplicity is exactly what makes it so comforting. The noodles are always cooked just right, slightly above al dente, which I personally think works perfectly for this style. I’ve been ordering it for a while now, and it’s become one of my absolute go-to meals. Personally, it’s delicious. I find myself constantly craving it and it’s perfect for a quick bite. They also have other delicious options worth trying, like their sesame pancakes and, of course their dumplings, which hit the spot just as well.
Jonathan — Google review
Unfortunately after we ordered we saw a rat scurry past above the table there they were making the dumplings. I wasn’t fast enough to snap a photo but it definitely left my girlfriend and I feeling uneasy about eating the food. I took solace in the fact that the rat wasn’t on the food prep area and decided to eat the food. The dumplings were comparable to other China Town cheap dumplings as they were plentiful but not very flavorful. The noodles with sauce offered a nice rich beef taste and were filling. Your best bet is to go somewhere more reputable and deeper in China Town. It’s New York and there are rats everywhere, seeing one in a restaurant especially near the cooking area however is worrying.
Matthew F — Google review
Good food for that price. Tasty and you get 10 pork dumplings for $4 which is a steal. Don’t dine in, just take the food and go at the park across the street.

AMAZING!! So cheap and so delicious. I paid 4.50 for 10 dumplings and they were so good and fresh! The sauces they have are rlly good
Najela S — Google review
It’s doesn’t look much but if you are after some cheap and cheerful dumplings then this is the place. Best food on the planet…..no, but good value. Sat inside and there was a steady stream of customers.

Small place but very clean. Quick service. Few seats but comfortable enough for a quick bite. If you want more space, Seward Park is across the street, you can take them to go and enjoy them at the park. The Dumplings were 😋 and super cheap. Four bucks for 10 Dumplings. I recommend this place for a quick bite when in the L.E.S.

Royal Queen is a spacious restaurant located on the top floor of the New World Mall in Flushing. It offers authentic Cantonese dim sum and Chinese dishes in a banquet hall-like setting. Visitors praise the variety of dim sum dishes, with delicate steamed Shaomai with Shrimps being a standout. The ambiance evokes traditional Dimsum houses in Guangzhou, providing a fantastic experience for those seeking genuine Cantonese cuisine.
Royal Queen in Flushing offers an exceptional dim sum experience that stands out among many we’ve tried. The freshness of the food is remarkable, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors. Navigating the extensive menu is made easy as servers wheel around carts filled with various options, allowing us to simply point and choose. Despite the language barrier, the friendly and attentive staff ensured our dining experience was seamless. We especially appreciated that there was no rush to leave after finishing our meal, allowing us to fully enjoy our time there. Royal Queen has certainly earned a spot on our list of favorite dining spots, and we look forward to returning.

Oh my ! The Siu Mai from this place is so delicious. I’ve never had one so good. They are big pieces, full of meat n prawns. Very tasty. I also had the pork meat wrapped in beancurd skin in a savoury sauce. They have so much more dim sums and bao’s. And selection of meats, char Sui , Roast duck and roasted crispy pork over rice. The hard part is deciding what to eat.
Yeeman S — Google review
On the third floor of a busy mall, it feels like a secret restaurant to get dim sum. This is a tough place to get to - you are better off taking the subway instead of driving. It looks packed, but it's fairly large so people move in and out of the restaurant. Food is pretty good, but can be better, depending on the items. Most servers understand some English, but since this is in the heart of Flushing, it can be difficult to order without a Chinese speaker with you (servers understand Mandarin and Cantonese).

Such lovely staff and great bang for your buck - huge serving size for the $$. Lots of options and immediately ready for you. The food itself was OK. Not as fresh as I'd like but I imagine it's what happens for food that sits out at the end of the day.

This afternoon, I went to the Royal Queen to eat their 'four dishes and one soup' meal. I ordered steamed spareribs, sweet and sour chicken, beef tripe, and braised eggplant. As a result, the steamed spareribs were not fully cooked! They are raw inside!! What's outrageous is that when I took the spareribs back to give them feedback, the cashier in front had a terrible attitude and told me that's how this dish is made!! I asked him back: Are you sure uncooked pork can be eaten? He very rudely repeated that this dish is made this way! It's the first time I've ever heard of eating partially cooked steamed spareribs. Then the lady serving the dishes came over. She told me they didn't dare to give feedback to the kitchen because they would be given a hard time. She told me to take these not fully cooked, raw inside spareribs to the third floor to find the manager and give feedback. Moreover, a couple next to us also ordered their 'four dishes and one soup' and the steamed spareribs they ordered were also raw inside, not fully cooked!

Hot pot restaurant
Sichuan restaurant
Chongqing Lao Zao is a relaxed restaurant that offers traditional Chinese hot pots in a rustic setting adorned with lanterns. The decor features dark wood and stone, along with vibrant garlands of peppers and garlic. The ambiance sets the stage for conversations over bubbling pots of spicy broth, creating a warm, farmhouse atmosphere reminiscent of Chongqing countryside.
Excellent service and atmosphere! I love how attentive the waitress was. She even gave me a hair tie because of my long hair. She also suggested me that to order too much food which I really appreciated. And glad that I listened to her. :-) The mushroom broth tastes really good. It would go well with anything. I also got a spiciest one which was not spicy enough for me. Although I liked it.
Gib ( — Google review
The restaurant decor was amazing, simulating a traditional Chinese house/building. The restaurant is structured with pockets of tables on 3 levels which decreased the noise level. My friend and I ordered the yin/yang hotpot with herbal broth (delicious) and spicy broth (it was moderately spicy despite our order for mildly spicy). The recommendation was 4-5 dishes per person so we ordered 8 items. Each vegetarian item costs about $5. The food was fresh, and portions were average in size compared to other hot pot restaurants. The service was great. I think a customer had a birthday and they played a song in Chinese to celebrate. Overall, great place. Would recommend to friends and family!

Amazing experience here. The food was fresh and delicious! Broth was super good. Mild Spicy was just spicy enough without the overwhelming heat. The service was really great as well. Our server had great recommendations and she even made us a great dip to try!

This place is phenomenal and lives every bit up to the hype! Immediately as you walk in, you’re hit with the mouth-watering and aromatic fragrance of the mala. The interior design and decor evoke feelings of awe and wonder. And the swift service is impeccable. The hotpot’s broth is very flavorful and delicious. For those who are ordering spicy, fair warning, it is HOT. I can handle spice really well, but even medium had me slightly struggling 😮‍💨 The ingredients were all fresh and the portions were great too. I do recommend the milky beef, it’s sooo tender. (Wasn’t a huge fan of their spicy beef though since it was too salty.) The shrimp paste is also good👌 Definitely revisiting in the future!😍😍

I came here after a concert and the restaurant was very crowded with people waiting. Luckily, my group had 6 people so we were seated immediately. It was past midnight by then, so some items were sold out, but the broth and beef dishes were all delicious. I especially liked the tomato broth because it was very flavorful. Will definitely come back here when I'm in Flushing because of the delicious broth, reasonable prices, and unique Chinese atmosphere.

Super amazing spot for hot pot! I’ve been hearing so many great things about this place from locals, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Absolutely loved the decor, and seating. Shawn was amazing, definitely 5-star service. He gave us helpful recommendations to trim our order a bit, which totally made sense in the end because we were way too full lol. We were also worried that the mild spice level might still be too much for us, but he reassured us that he could add more broth if needed to tone it down. Thank you so much! We’ll definitely be back!!
Racheeats — Google review
Hands down one of the best hotpot experience I've had. The Chongqing medium spice is perfect balance of spice for your average spicy food enjoyer. Mushroom soup base is also excellent! Our server was on point and was very helpful with explanations where needed. The decorations inside are also awesome! Must try for spicy hotpot enjoyers.
Sils ( — Google review
My first time here. We waited for about 10 minutes for a table for two on a Friday night. It was much faster than expected. We get a dual pot of medium heat and a mushroom. Both broth were very nice. The spicy one was fragrant and spicy, and the mushroom one was light and refreshing. We got shrimp paste, thick sliced beef, cilantro meat balls, juicy beef balls, sliced Celtuce, lotus roots, and popcorn crispy pork. The shrimp paste was nice, but I thought it would have more texture to it. The thick sliced beef was superb, the server Shawn highly recommended, and it didn’t disappoint. We ended up ordering 2 more plates. It was wonderful. The cilantro meatballs were nice, too! The juicy beef balls were okay. I thought it would have more juice packed inside the meatballs. The flavor was nice, though. Sliced celtuce and notice were both nice. Added some texture and freshness to the hot pot. The popcorn crispy pork was great! I do hope that it was served hot. Even though it was lukewarm, it was still very crispy. The dipping power was great, too. It was mildly spicy and numbing. It was just great! We also got peach blossoms wine and it was delicious. The self serving sauce station was fun. You can make your own dipping sauce according to your personal preferences. It was a great restaurant with very good services. It would be nice to have better ventilation, because the steam was blowing to our face the whole time. Except for that, it was a wonderful experience for a hot pot restaurant. We had a great time!

A moderately priced dim sum chain restaurant which has tablet screen ordering. It took a bit longer than I would’ve hoped for the food to arrive, but the Soup Dumplings (xiao long bao) were of a good quality. I wish that I could say the same about the scallion pancake which was overcooked, and very hard.

The food here is fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The siu mai were juicy and well-seasoned, the vegetable dumplings had a nice texture with a delicate wrapper, and the BBQ pork puffs were perfectly flaky with a sweet-savory filling. Wow! I was very pleasantly surprised by this place! It is unassuming but the dim sums were fresh, well-steamed/baked/fried and hand plenty of options. My family and I eat dim sum all the time and we only go to Chinatown. I would say this place beats a lot of the places and I love the grab-and-go option and casual setting. This fast casual concept for Dim Sum is brilliant!

i really liked this place when it first opened several years ago, and it's been a go-to for takeout ever since. but i find that every time i go the quality of the food declines, and the vibe inside the physical establishment is not so great. today i went and saw that they had a new B health sanitation grade. in NYC, i really strive to only eat at places that have an A (which is *most * restaurants). but i was in a rush, so i went in and got food anyways. after seeing that sanitation grade and eating my meal, which simply tasted bad, i went to look at what other reviewers had written and was shocked/horrified to see how many people have gotten sick. i want to love this place: it has so many dishes i love and it's super convenient to where i live. but i do not think i will be returning again.

I guess I had high expectation after seeing many social media posts. Maybe I’m not a fan of real authentic Chinese food? Every stall had very unique and authentic food.. but it wasn’t for me. Crab noodle was ok, not great. Tasted too crabby and not fresh. Pork buns were made fresh but the inside was smelly and it was not hot. Shout out to Jose who went above and beyond to give us what we needed to be comfortable and have a good experience! Always willing to do what he could to make our stay better, he’s a shining star! In general the staff was courteous and attentive. A previous reviewer got it right when they said “this hotel has everything you need and nothing you don’t”. Everything we needed: window that opened, small gym in the basement, small but cleverly laid out rooms, relatively quiet, great location near many subway lines. It was small, spare, and spartan but comfortable and well priced. Someone really gave this a lot of thought with the budget traveler in mind. My only complaint was the cleansers or room fragrance that was used. Overpowering chemical smell. Jose offered to tell housekeeping not to use it but I played it safe and cancelled housekeeping services for the rest of our stay. With the window opened, the smell dissipated by the next day. Aloft Fidi will be my home away from home whenever I come to New York from now on!

Staff was very nice and helpful. (Shout-out to Jose 👍) Room was comfortable albeit small but for a solo traveller it was perfect. Always got a pleasant greeting every morning from the staff. Check in was fast and appreciated they held my luggage till room was ready leaving me hands free to explore the neighborhood. Plenty of local food options and subways were close by. I heard some reviews complaining about room condition As you see in my photos I think it was very clean and well kept. No fridge but you have an ice bucket in room and Jose was really cool about getting ice for me. 👍👍 I highly recommend.

I’ve been with the Marriott chain for decades. This hotel is fine once you’re inside but the location leaves a lot to be desired. You’d think by looking at the map that it’s great, close to everything in the Wall Street/City Hall area. But Ann Street is like a seedy back alley. Filled with sidewalk scaffolds, bars and dirty sidewalks. We tried twice at this location. Second stay we had to sidestep vomit on the sidewalk right near the hotel entrance. This despite the Moxy being right up the street. It’s very odd. But, if you can manage the night scene and back alley, the fare is good for a room in Manhattan.
Michael P — Google review
Avoid this hotel at all costs. Easily one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in NYC. The staff was consistently rude and dismissive every time we needed something or made a simple request, we were met with attitude. No greetings, no smiles, just pure hostility. The management team is even worse. Both managers were incredibly unprofessional and condescending when we asked for basic accommodations. Our room was outdated, the AC didn’t work, and everything felt run-down and neglected. When we asked for a refund or even a slight adjustment, the response was cold and disrespectful. This hotel does not represent the Marriott standard whatsoever it honestly felt like a scam. If you value your money and peace of mind, do not stay here.
Chloe B — Google review
Terrible service! They never pick up the phone when you call the front desk. I made my reservation three months earlier unfortunately the card I used was disabled due to a fraud alert, so Aloft canceled my reservation via email the day before the trip ( no alert in the app or follow-up call or text like they do for everything else.) The morning of the trip, I called Marriott reservations to make another reservation with another card while driving up. They confirmed there was plenty of availability and that there were no issues with my new reservation. When I arrived at the Aloft, the front desk informed me that my reservation was canceled due to booking with a third party vendor and there were no more vacancies. I told them it wasn't a third party it was Marriott reservations. After I made a 6 hour drive, I was left scrambling to find a hotel until 5am in the morning to move my daughter into her college dorm at 1pm. I requested to log a complaint. The hotel closed the ticket without sending me the reference number or any follow up. Terrible customer service , terrible brand quality. I'll stay at a Hilton next time.

Overall a good choice! Rooms are larger than other NY hotels but the downside is that rooms are pretty dark, very low lights, which is uncomfortable, especially if you need to work. The location is good and the staff is very friendly.
Magalí Y — Google review
Great location, near subway and buses - also for Brooklyn. The room was small but everything you need was there. Reception staff ranged from super friendly to couldn’t care less. We enjoyed our time here.
Ian G — Google review
This place meets basic human needs but that's about it. The infrastructure leaves to be desired (elevators are falling appart, bathrooms are ok, room doors close with a gap and let the light through. The bathroom door is a sliding door so it doesn't block off sound). Aside from all that it's fine. Beds are comfortable but not too much. There's a semblance of a gym in the basement, but it's tiny and only has a few machines. Other from that, room service is on point. The staff is acomodating, and tries to help. The street was being renovated when I went so it was a bit loud. So yeah, it will meet your basic "hotel requirements" but nothing more.

It's a small corner spot where you can actually watch the ladies expertly making the dumplings right in front of you – a truly cool experience. I opted for the pork and chives dumplings, and they were phenomenal. Whether fried or boiled, they were hot, ready in minutes, and perfectly balanced with a crispy bottom and a soft, pillowy top. The ratio of meat to chives to dough was spot-on, and at 10 for just $4, it's an incredible deal that offers a huge bang for your buck. I also tried the pan-fried buns, which were equally delicious and made fresh to order. A crucial tip for anyone planning a visit: King Dumplings is strictly cash-only. While there's an ATM inside, it's definitely more convenient to grab cash from a nearby bank beforehand. Seating is limited, but most people opt for takeout, so I usually managed to snag a spot. Be aware that during summer, it can get quite warm inside as there's no AC or fan. Despite these minor points, the delicious, fresh, and incredibly affordable food, combined with the quick service, makes King Dumplings an absolute must-visit. I'll definitely be back for more!

One of my favorite spots for dumplings in NYC. We used to frequent their old location and thought they closed down but was glad to hear that they just moved a few blocks away. This dumpling spot has very affordable and delicious dumplings, which you can get fried or boiled. You can also get pan fried buns, sandwiches, and noodles here. They are cash only so make sure that you have some cash with you when you get here. There is an ATM machine in the store but it’s better to get cash from a nearby bank before coming here. There is limited seating here but most people get their order as take out so I can usually find a seat here. There is no AC or fan so it is pretty warm and stuff in here during the summer time.

We went on a Monday at 2:30 and no lines. Small little spot on the corner. Cash only. You can see the mound of dumpling filling and the ladies making dumplings in front of you. Pork and chives dumplings are amazing. These dumplings are hot and ready in minutes. The bottoms are crispy and the tops are soft and pillowy. Perfect ration of meet to chives to dough. 10 for $4 is a great deal. Big on taste and big bang for you $.

The pork and chive dumplings were definitely amazing and fresh. I had both friend and boiled. The dumpling sauce(darker color sauce) they provide on the tables is a must to pour over. It is cash only. During the time I went, the fried ones were $4.50 and the boiled ones were $5. Both contain 10 dumplings. There is minimum sitting and it is first come first serve but there are areas outside around the building to find a seat. Across the street there are a few tables to sit at that look like a public seating area. I highly recommend this place and I have seen this place go viral on social media after my visit but hoping they stay at a reasonable price.

Delicious and juicy fried pork and chives dumplings. 10 pieces for only $4.50 (such an affordable and filling lunch)! I like drizzling the dumplings with white vinegar, soy sauce and sriracha, then close the box and shake it all up. A nice spot in Chinatown to sit down for a quick meal and you don’t have to pay tips.

Walked 10 minutes from my hotel on a rainy Sunday for lunch and I'm so glad I did! Wasn't too busy when I got there but as I was waiting for my takeout order a few more people piled in. Fried dumplings (10 for $4.5) and pork buns (4 for $3) are made fresh to order and were still piping hot by the time I got back to my hotel room. I forgot to grab some soy sauce but they taste great as they are!

Bit of a tourist trap now, more than half customer looks non NYer. Still cheap, but quality not as good. Dumplings are very soggy & oily, some not sealed with little flavor in the filling. Definitely coasting on reputation a lot. Suggest tryint some of the better dumpling shops further south towards East Broadway, cheaper for more pieces too.
Jia S — Google review
Superrr affordable dumpling spot. The pork and chive fried dumplings were only $4.5 for 10. This price is uncommon in other areas like Brooklyn, where they're charging $10 for 6 mid dumplings. The dumpling meat is super juicy, has a lot of flavor, and the wrappers are the perfect thickness. It's also very filling and I think they gave us more than 10 pieces lol I got very full after 6, and was sharing with a friend! I recommend using the soy sauce + vinegar mix. It'll make the dumplings taste so much better. They don't include a small container of the sauce so make sure you add it before you leave if you're not sitting in.

Yin Ji Chang Fen is a popular Guangzhou-based chain known for its specialty, chang fen, a rice noodle roll that's a staple in Cantonese cuisine. The NYC outpost offers seventeen flavors of the crepe-like rice noodles filled with savory ingredients, along with congee and various snacks. The restaurant boasts a modern and clean space with friendly staff and quick service.
Really authentic and tasty — every dish was delicious! Highly recommend the rice rolls and congee. The service was a bit lacking, but it didn’t spoil the experience. Just a heads up, they only accept cash.

Delicious chang fen and authentic Guangzhou cuisine with some Hong Kong breakfast options. The secret peanut butter rice rolls were the best by far - we ate them so quickly! I also recommend the dough rice rolls and any congee. Since we went at a busy time, the service was rather abrupt which is understandable. It is also very noisy in the restaurant and you may have to wait for a table, but trust me it’s worth it! For drinks, the red bean frozen drink was quite creamy and good, but the lemon honey was medicinal tasting for my liking. Keep in mind the restaurant is cash only like many businesses in Chinatown. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area!

Came here 30 minutes after they opened in a weekday because I heard they can get busy. The place is a Hong Kong style cha chaan teng that serves HK style dishes. Ordered a Chinese fried dough sticks wrapped in cheong funn, hk style curry fish balls, and a cold lemon tea drink. The cheong funn wrapped fried dough sticks were good. The sticks were chewy. The cheong funn wrapper was consistent to what you find in a hk dim sum restaurant. Down side is I forgot to ask for last soy sauce, because they bathed it. The dough sticks soaks up the soy sauce causing it to be a little too salty. No complaints with the fish balls covered in hk style curry. The cold lemon tea was also good too. I would come back again to try the other dishes. This place is cash only! No credit cards or digital payment.

Excellent experience at the store with fantastic food! Was really lucky to visit at a time where they weren't busy! Ordered the pork congee with egg and 2 portions of the rice roll. Pork with cilantro rice roll and the rice roll with fried dough. Congee was smooth silky and almost soup like with a hearty taste. Rice rolls were delicious and the sauce was absolutely spot on. Pork slices were tender and very flavourful! Definitely worth a visit to a gem of a breakfast place in Chinatown! Will definitely be back in the future!

Usually, when I come to eat here, there is a line waiting to get in. I got a table for me and my family and enjoyed the freshly made rice noodle crepes, fish congee, beef brisket, soy sauce fried noodles and drinks (hot horlick and pineapple freeze). Delicious and classic Chinese comfort food on a Sunday morning 😋.

Ordered 2 rice rolls and a soy milk ~$30 after tip. I went on a Sunday afternoon which is quite crowded in Chinatown. But there were seats immediately, which is great. Service is good too, waiter was attentive and came to give menu and take over with good timing and gave me water too. 👍👍👍

Dim sum restaurant
Golden Mandarin Court is a bustling and lively restaurant that offers a wide array of traditional and unique dim sum dishes. The establishment is known for its basic setting and old-school charm, complete with dumpling carts rolling out various options. Whether you're a fan of classic pork or shrimp dumplings, or more adventurous choices like veggie steamed dim sum stuffed with mushrooms, there's something for everyone.
Recommended Mandarin restaurant.... well done and very good food, fresh with high verity of dim sum.
Gill S — Google review
My family and I came early for dim sum on Saturday morning. If you get here later, it can be crowded as the usual crew of dim sum folks are already here chatting up a storm. The food was fresh, delicious, and they had a decent variety of dim sum items to choose from. Price was moderate from for dim sum.
Angela H — Google review
We went to this restaurant for dim sum on Sunday. Unfortunately, the restaurant had limited item for their dim sum. We ordered items from menu. Their chinese pancake was dry and tasteless. Their shaighai xiaolongbao was very good. The waiters were friendly but the restaurant was not as clean as some other chinese restaurants. I don't think this is a good choice for dim sum at New York Chinatown.
Tony C — Google review
Dim sum was hit or miss.... but mostly miss. The pork dumplings were weird and I found a solid piece in my dumpling which I have never before experienced. The corn and chicken dumpling was just plain gross. The pictures show the "steamed pork dumpling" and the chicken and corn dumpling. It's cheap but I would rather pay a little more for better quality food.
Conor V — Google review
Food was tasty, squid was chewy and vegetables very fresh. Dim sum was nice. Interior is old and tacky but it adds to the character. The people wheeling carts of food around are a bit pestering and they seem to get upset when you don't select anything. FYI if you don't tip enough they will ask for more which was amusing. Overall I would definitely return.
Rodrigo M — Google review
I disliked the food here, particularly the appetizers. We ordered the shrimp and it still had eyes on it. The baby bochoy were too small, and the fire salt squid were a bit tough. Teapot also needed a net. I managed to get a negative fortune - so just in general a bad night
Nathan M — Google review
I think it is an okay tending to mediocre restaurant. When you enter it promises a lot since the decorations look nice and clean; however, not everything is good as the restrooms are dirty and small. In terms of food, the price is decent and they serve amounts that are enough. Nevertheless, the flavor is not very good since I find it to be mild or "without personality". In brief, I wouldn't go again.
