Delicious Mexican food, fresh and flavorful-- we had enchiladas (chicken mole and seafood), rice, and charro beans, all excellent. I wish the salsa was spicier, but that's a personal preference-- the flavor was very good. We were too full for dessert, so I guess we'll have to go back! The portions were generous, but the price point is a little on the high side for us. That's not a complaint, really, more of a heads up. Service was fabulous. All in all, a wonderful meal!

Highly recommend restaurant and the staff Jennifer was a really warm and nice host that not only recommend us good food but also the historic story of the restaurant. We order the Del Mar Enchiladas and Fajitas of beef and chicken. Del Mar had a rich flavor of Shrimp, crab and the sauce was really great - though little pricy. Fajita was a classic one and recommend the fried roasted bean with cheese and the green rice - with a great texture! We only have two people and the amount are big for us😆 but the dinner experience was really great!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! When we entered the front staffed just starred, did not even say hello. My Dr.Pepper was extremely flat it tasted like water. I had to ask the server to come over several times for things I needed. He only checked up on me 2 times. No physical kids menu, they just tell you and they don’t tell the price. The kids chicken tenders is 2 pieces of chicken and 3 potato wedges. My son did not like the flavor of the chicken and he is not a picky eater. My Texas combo was not good. The steak, rice and taco were lacking flavor. The taco was greasy. The enchilada was the only thing I enjoyed. For my family of 5 I ended up paying $106. I spend less at Olive Garden. The price is not worth the food. Do Not Go Here!

This place is a Houston institution known for the home of fajitas. I have been here a few times of the years. It seems to fall in quality each time. I had a solo mid week lunch. This place always has a good size crowd. It’s very lively and feels like a great TexMex spot. I was seated immediately and the waiter came quickly to take my drink order and provide chips and salsa. I ordered the skirt steak fajitas. It would be the last time I saw my waiter until I was as finished. The chips are solid. The salsas are ok. The green doesn’t have much flavor. Red was a little better but no heat. Fajitas came out with all the fixings plus beans and rices. The meat was slightly overcooked for my taste but still doable. The flavor was the real problem. It simply lacked seasoning. The tortillas were very good when they were warm. Once they cooled down they became very rigid and my last one broke apart while I was as finishing my fajitas. The kicker is the fajitas are average but they cost $45. That’s not going to cut it. Sadly, I won’t be making anymore stops at Ninfa’s. Luckily, Houston is full of great other options.

I booked a table at The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation while I was in Buenos Aires, as I was only staying in Houston for one night. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. However, I found the prices to be a bit high for the overall experience.

I loved the atmosphere, very calm great for a family outing or Saturday out with friends. I ordered the Fajita Mix for a group of 4 , it had Chicharrones, Fajita, Shrimp and Sausage, it came with 2 sides or Rice and 2 sides or Beans. Food 8/10 the ribs were a bit chewy and the Guac had no flavor otherwise everything else was good

Our service asked how we wanted the beef fajitas and I told him to make it however the chef recommends. And it was perfect! Beef fajitas had a lot of flavor and it was tender. The chicken fajitas were delicious as well. Chips and queso tasted good too. Frozen Margaritas and Margaritas on the rocks were good. Not sour tasting at all.

I like so many things about this place, but the main thing is they take chances and add some interesting specials every day. Love anything seafood, tried the fish, so flavorful, and the guacamole was really good. Salsa was okay, chips were a little thick for my liking, ceviche was good. Fish tacos my friend ordered were inhaled. All and all a nice restaurant at any time of day. Would love to hit the happy hour.

An amazing meal and an amazing experience. Party of 3 for the brunch buffet. Servers kept our beverages refreshed. Huge variety of delicious options on the buffet. I didn't even have room to try everything that I wanted. Live music was a nice addition.

I came to Houston for a quick overnight visit and googled best restaurants near me and found Hugos. I was blown away. The food was incredible, the tequila high quality and diverse and the service smart and professional. I had the ceviche which was bright, fresh, and tasty. Nextvi had the Lechon, the suckling pig, which was tender, juicy and just a bit spicy. Next I had the duck, which quite literally melted in my mouth. The mole cornbread, greens and sweet potato puree were the perfect accompaniment to a crispy dilute with a ln amazing mole sauce. Add all this to the four great tequilas and I don't think I could have had a better meal. A+++ recommended.

My wife and I visited on a Sunday for brunch. We arrived around 11 am. I would recommend setting a reservation if you aren't coming around opening hours. This place gets packed fast! The food was soo good! Open bar, buffet style, live entertainment, and the service was amazing! My water glass never got empty. As we ate and went back to the buffet line to replenish our plates we returned to find our napkins neatly folded and our table had been cleaned and cleared. Awesome service! 👏🏾 I noticed a lot of the visitors parked in the neighborhood next to the restaurant. Valet is available ; it is tip only valet. If you enjoy Mexican food you will love this place. From the homemade corn tortilla, tamales, enchilada, and salsa's! 🤌🏾 FLAVORFUL! This was my first time visiting but it will definitely not be the last!

Xochi delivered an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. Best molé sauce I've ever had. Our server was superb. She made great recommendations, especially in the wine and dessert choices. My tenderloin was mouth-watering. The octopus was made to perfection, not rubbery at all.

Amazing food. Think all that is good in Mexican/Spaniard foods and elevate it. Finest restaurant, indeed. Presentation: 10 Taste: 10 creativity: 10 Service: 10 location: 10 lots of new spices and old ones utilized in a different manner, enhancing them. Great wine and beer selection. Outside sitting, fenced and safe for families with little ones. Very pleasant ambient. The foods and spices taste as if they're coming from the farmers straight to your table. No middleman. Everyone should have this experience at least once.

Wow! Xochi was our favorite meal during our trip to Houston. We ordered the pescado (daily catch) and tostadas de camarón (sautéed shrimp on crispy tortillas) which were extremely fresh and flavorful. The protein was cooked perfectly and the vegetables and herbs paired nicely with both dishes. For drinks, we ordered the Nervous Traveller (a fantastic skinny marg) and the world’s best margarita (similar to a Cadillac marg but with aged liquor). Both drinks were excellent, and if we visit Houston again I’m certain we will at least stop by to order these same cocktails. The outdoor seating was very clean and the staff were knowledgeable and timed our dishes perfectly. We don’t normally order dessert, but we splurged since the meal was going so well. We ordered the Helado de Elote (ice cream dish made with corn custard) and it was divine. The cob molds and marigolds made for an impressive presentation, but most importantly we cleaned the plate at a competitive pace 😂 Also, my wife is gluten free and it was very refreshing to have the full menu at her disposal.

Made reservations for my mom’s birthday, our waiter was amazing she informed us about the dishes , food was tasty only wish queso de rancho had more protein of the bugs not just 2 of each & cocktail drinks weren’t the best to my taste & I bit too loud but overall a good experience.

We came here for restaurant week. Parking is difficult to find; however, luckily, we were able to find street parking nearby. Food waa great and our kids all enjoyed the dishes we ordered. Overall, great food and service!

Amazing!! I came for brunch, the food was so amazingly delicious!! Every single thing I tasted was perfect. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the brunch buffet. We had mimosa pitchers and enjoyed the live music and service from the bartender Ashley who went above and beyond with her service. I highly recommend the brunch. I will be back!! And don’t listen to the hostess who may tell you brunch buffet is only for reservations. Had we listened, we would’ve left instead we sat at the bar and were still able to enjoy the buffet.

Our waitress Samantha was so kind and attentive. We showed up before they opened and they let us inside and were so kind. The manager was on top of everything and obviously cared about the guests. It was a wonderful experience and everyone who went has been raving about it.

Nacho and Alex C took care of us tonight at Caracol tonight. One of the most amazing dining experiences ever!!!! I should have taken more pictures of the drinks and dishes! Probably the best whiskey sour I've ever had on top of some magical cocktails that are just in the bartenders head. Never made it to the main courses, but highly recommend!!!

Went for a birthday but bday boy didn’t receive anything special. Sunday brunch with unlimited oysters. The toppings should be on the side or have a naked option. Couple of oysters had shells and I’m glad I didn’t chip my tooth. Roasted oysters is not part of the aye so we ordered one for the table.

Sunday Brunch was $45 for adults and $15 for kids. They had tamales, mini taquitos, meats and some potato/corn/paella for carbs. They also have bay scallops and oysters in a separate area. Dessert table had ample samplings. Overall, food was just average. Nothing that really made me think of wanting to go back. I prefer Hugo's by a smidge. The only thing that stood out for me was their margarita. Pass on the Sangria. The interior was lovely, though. There was a live band right by the entrance/buffet area, which was nice. One can still hold conversation without screaming over another. Validated parking in the garage next door

Consistently great Tex Mex. Family owned local chain. Great for large groups and family gatherings. Large open venue can be loud, but great for large parties. Service is fast and friendly. On the spot for drink and chip refills. All the food is flavorful and executed consistently well. The dishes are large and priced in line with mid tier TexMex for decent value. Decent sized parking lot that gets full at peak and there's some street parking for overflow.

Great margaritas and good food overall, though a bit overpriced for what you get. I tried the $5 bacon-wrapped shrimp and was really disappointed , it was tiny, way too salty, and honestly not worth being on the menu at all. The rest of the meal was enjoyable, but I’d definitely skip the shrimp.

My favorite Tex Mex on the planet! My friends always know that we have to visit El Tiempo every time I come to Houston. The queso was delicious, the margaritas are killer, and you have to get the mixed fajitas! Always hot and fresh food. The tortillas are made in the house and are delicious. You can’t go wrong here.

The food service was fast, waiter was exceptional and so was the food. I had the Acapulco shrimp and a strawberry margarita with sugar on the rim, and I'd get it again. The only issue, if I should even call it that, was it was too cold in the space. I'd rather be cold than hot so, that wasn't a real issue. Bring a cardigan and you'll be fine....This was my first time at this location and I'd definitely go again!

I live in Kentucky but I haven't been to Houston in many years. Came back to Houston with my fiance. She loved, loved and loved Houston. My cousin picked us up and took us to El Tiempo. Food was amazing. Fajitas were tender. Tortillas were on point. Salsa was the shit and the staff, the best. We recommend El Tiempo if you want good service and good food. Hey, dont take my word for it. Go try it out for yourself.

This place is massive. Has phenomenal number of seats and equal amount of parking as well. The decor is tastefully done and the staff is courteous. The food has the potential to be better. Their quantity is large but lacks flavours that stand out.

Have heard great things about this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Such a beautiful dinning room and bar. Its hard to believe this place has been here for decades. Homemade Tortillas were GREAT! I had a burrito covered in Mexican gravy chili. Perfect seasoning and the same to the salsa that came with the chile relleno.

My family has been eating here since I was a little boy and before. Now my kids are eating here. I have spent many a birthday with the Lopez Family and they are an awesome place to bring family and friends.

A very disappointing visit to Lopez. Met my sister there with my wife for drinks and dinner. We ordered flavored margaritas and I had a house margarita. Long story, but my sister couldn't even finish hers. It tasted like soap. It takes a lot for me to not eat or drink something I've purchased. My sister would never say anything so I brought it to the attention of the bartender. Instead of making it right for her which every good restaurant does he proceeded to tell me it was the combination of tequila, strawberries and Grand Marnier that caused the bad taste. He wouldn't budge on his opinion. Are you kidding me??? So I ordered her another house margarita which was ok. Then our food arrived. The taco salad and taco had no flavor. My enchiladas were good. Regardless, the bartenders attitude was a total turn-off. I've never experienced that. I did still tip because others served us and they were pleasant. We just all agreed that we won't go back, not for that kind of service. Too many other options around Sugar Land for good Mexican food and great service!

I’ve been coming to Lopez Mexican Restaurant at 11606 Wilcrest Dr, Houston, TX 77099 for 43 years, and it has never disappointed me. The food has always been absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors that keep me coming back time and time again. The service is consistently amazing—friendly, attentive, and welcoming—and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for enjoying a great meal with family or friends. As a remote worker, Lopez has become one of my favorite places to eat and relax. The only thing I wish they offered is Wi-Fi, which would make it even more convenient for those of us who love working while enjoying their wonderful food. Lopez has been a staple in my life for decades, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Customer service was great, food was plentiful and delicious. We ordered the fajitas with short ribs, steak, chicken, and shrimp. I think the tortillas were homemade and delicious. Chips and salsa didn't disappoint. The order was enough for 3 people to share, but the food could use a little more seasoning. I definitely recommend trying this place you are guaranteed to find something on the menu to your liking. The frozen margaritas were delicious also!

It's a relatively affordable, authentic Tex-Mex experience in the heart of Houston Heights. I would say the pros are their fresh handmade tortillas are very good, their menu is on the cheaper end compared to most other sit-down Tex Mex places, and the menu is huge with lots of variety. The con I would say is the quality can sometimes be hit or miss but probably comes with the cheaper price tag. Still would come back! Their fajita meat was a bit thinner and not as juicy as I would've liked but still had good flavor Waitresses are friendly and ambience is great and authentic

Excellent meal was had for a reasonable price. The menu is extensive. Carnitas were awesome and a generous portion. They offer homemade corn and flour tortillas. My companion loved the enchiladas so much that we had to wait until he ate every last one. No desserts this time. Definitely recommend.

I visited this place after reading positive reviews, but my experience was just okay. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the overall experience better. However, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly good either. It was just decent. I wouldn’t be disappointed if I ate there again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. The prices are a bit high, but considering the area, rent is probably not cheap. You could find comparable food elsewhere for less. One major disappointment was the fresh waters. They were not fresh at all. You could tell they were made using a powder or some kind of syrup. The flavor was almost non-existent, and the flavors that did exist tasted artificial. I asked for a tamarindo water, and it was awful. I asked for it to be switched to a lemonade, and it was just as bad. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend traveling to this place to eat. I would only recommend it if you’re nearby and want some decent but not great Tex-Mex. I don’t drink, so I can’t comment on the alcoholic beverages. Also, this place is very loud. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you want to have a quiet conversation.

Overall, the food was good and arrived in a timely manner. The chicken was moist and well-prepared. However, my salad was served on a hot plate, which made it warm—not ideal. Fortunately, the waitress replaced it promptly and without any issues. I did have some difficulty communicating the problem to the server, as her English was limited.

I came in on a rainy day and it was pretty busy. There’s tons of seating but it is a little crowded. I came in with a large party and the service was good and accommodating to us. The woman was very kind and helpful. I got a chicken quesadilla and it was light, flavorful, and delicious. The nachos were also very good. I had an horchata and it wasn’t super flavorful but it was refreshing for sure. My family got a quail dish, not the biggest fan but it was a new thing for us to try at a Mexican restaurant. Overall, not bad.

Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming. Stopped for lunch on a Saturday and had a good experience overall. The fajita tacos were a highlight—juicy, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. I also ordered the Lupe Chicken, which had a nice flavor, though the chicken breast was a bit tough. The salsa added a nice kick, and the corn tortillas were fantastic. The flour tortillas are cooked with lard, so keep that in mind if you avoid pork. Service was fine on the patio. Overall, it was a good meal, but nothing particularly memorable.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants, I've never had a bad experience at this location for food. It can get noisy at times when you are in the smaller rooms, but never loud enough to where you cant talk to each other. We've had a couple of visits where the server took a while to get to us but it has happened only twice in the many visits we've had.

I love the place. I have been there for 10 years. The best fajitas i have ever had. Amazing food and great atmosphere. Years ago the manager got angry at me for walking in the building, that wasn’t so nice.

This Lupe Tortilla location was the original. It was a fabulous restaurant when it first opened years ago and continues to be fabulous. The food here knocks the socks off the Echo lane location. Well worth the 10 minute drive West on I10 to get the best.

This is my favorite lupe! The food is always delicious. Staff is helpful and patient. They have an area for kids to play. It is sandy and outside in the sun, so come with sunscreen. Wish the whole thing had shade cause my kids were burning but didn't want to stop playing. The atmosphere is fun and casual. It's an old house converted to restaurant. Love going every time. They also have Popsicles for cash only. Kids loved it. It's hard going out with kids that are restless and don't eat but they were kept busy enough for us to eat.

Took a date on a Saturday night and it was a very enjoyable experience. It was busy, we waited about 20 minutes but we were able to get a spot at the bar and get a drink and there was plenty of outside area so we just enjoyed the evening outside until the table was ready. Got a nice little spot along the wall, had nice lighting and a nice ambience for a date. The star of the show in the food department was the salsa and beans they served. The salsa was chunky and flavorable and the beans were outstanding. Had chicken fajitas and margaritas and everything was great. Service was a little slow, but it was busy, and our server was attentive and everything was on point. Would definitely recommend Lupe Tortillas and I will be back.

This restaurant has a great outdoor/patio area, the food was pretty similar to regular Pappasito’s, nothing to rave about. I’ve received much better service and wait time at the pappasitos on Katy freeway and would recommend that location over this one any day. Our waitress either forgot about us or just didn’t want to service us because she was on top of the larger party next to us but kept skipping over us. My husband literally had to ask 3 times just for his drink to be refilled and we were basically already finished with our meal. We never got checked on and we didn’t get offered any dessert, she just brought the check and I infact did want a dessert. I expected the service to be outstanding considering the location but definitely not my experience.

All 5 stars go to Audrey!!!! The sweetest waitress and most attentive!!! Hand down the best experience we’ve had with the staff and we come a lot! Fajitas and dessert were amazing. Bran*** behind the bar could work on his customer service skills and attitude. But other than that. We had a great time!

I’ve always passed this place but never stopped in… today I visited for lunch and everything was great. I’m going to probably butcher her name but Veseeria and Chelsea were my bartenders and they were great. The green chili enchiladas and Mirage margarita turned out to be the perfect lunch combo. So glad I stopped by and will definitely be returning.

Little Papapacito’s was amazing. It’s a test kitchen, so you’ll find unique menu items you won’t see at the regular Papacito’s Cantina. The service was top-notch, and the staff was super knowledgeable about every dish. Highly recommend the snapper crudo it had just the right balance of spice and flavor. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

The Sunday hours made it a no brainer to go. 10am. The new Lump Crab Enchiladas were absolutely amazing. D, our server, was perfect. Polite, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly.

We were in town for two nights and decided to try this place that a couple Uber drivers recommended. Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants we've been to. The food was so fresh and flavourful. We ate way too much but we didn't care cause it was so worth it. The patio was big and covered so when it stormed it didn't matter. Our server Warren was incredible too! Highly recommend this place. Wish there was one where we live.

The food is authentic, the atmosphere is festive and the service is high quality. Eva did a wonderful job serving our table and Issac was super helpful assisting me getting my credit card back after I left it there. I will be back when I'm in Houston!

I live in NJ but grew up in TX. I am so happy to be here today! The food is so wonderful. My mouth is alive with the spices and flavors of TX. I am in love. I will be here for the next few days and this is my spot! Gracias! Such a wonderful lunch! Margaritas and more tomorrow!

The food here was really good. I had some queso, some guac, and their salsa to start. I decided to get the burger since I was interested in the Nilgai and I’m glad I tried it! It was quite good. You could tell it wasn’t cow beef but they made a great burger out of it. High price for a fairly normal portion; that’s downtown for ya! I personally don’t really like the downtown scene. Parking sucks. Ambiance wasn’t great. Very loud. Other than that, I’m happy with the service and food.

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant after a long hard day. Great service and the white table clothes are an absolute delight. Really nice atmosphere, delicious food and lovely drinks.

From the moment we walked into Irma’s Southwest, we were treated like family. The atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and full of character exactly what you hope for in a true Texas gem. The food was absolutely phenomenal, every bite packed with flavor and clearly made with care. What made the experience even more special was Louis Galvan himself. Not only did he personally greet us, but he also cooked for us! His hospitality, warmth, and passion for what he does truly set the tone for the entire visit. You can feel the love in both the food and the service. If you’re looking for a place with top-notch food, an unforgettable atmosphere, and a host who genuinely cares, Irma’s Southwest is it. We’ll definitely be back!

For the amount that you pay, very small portions and tasted mediocre. We must have came on a slow day but there was not a lot of people and we still had slow service. Definitely overpriced and can find better Tex Mex. Drinks were good but definitely way too expensive.

I was visiting from out of town for the Beyonce concert in June 2025. This place was recommended by some locals so I decided to check it out. The food was delicious, we got the tacos and the steak dish. Daisy was our server and she was warm, welcoming, and took time to explain the menu.

Great service! The food is good but I have tried better Mexican food. The atmosphere is great, there was 2 singers playing Spanish and English songs. I do think that this restaurant is some how overpriced, $24 for a Pambazo 🤯 $18 for Pozole 🧐 Automatic gratuitity for tables of 6 ppl (20%) Inside it was freezing cold. This are my opinions but go ahead and judge yourself 😉

Loved the food at Cuchara, super authentic and full of flavor. The place has a great vibe and the service was friendly. Definitely a spot I’d go back to when craving real Mexican food in Houston.

10/10 Everything is always excellent at this restaurant. We love the food, the service, and the atmosphere. My family and I have came to Cuchara for brunch and for dinner a few times. The food is always outstanding. All the employees, not just our server, are always going above and beyond. Love this little gem!

I found out about this restaurant from Reddit. A lot of people were speaking highly about it on there so we decided to look it up. We were happy to see that high ratings on Google. We decided to go. The food was definitely as good as we expected based on the description on Google and Reddit. But we also were pleasantly surprised with the ambiance, the service and really everything about the entire experience. The posole was really good. Same with the guacamole, tacos campechanos, and the margarita de jamaica. We would definitely go back for the service and the food. The added bonus was the live music. There were two guitarists walking around to each table for song requests. Let me tell you, their guitar skills and singing was quite exceptional! We stayed at the restaurant longer that anticipated because we wanted to keep listening to the really good music. All in all, 10 out of 10. We are most definitely going back to try some more food and listen to some good music. If you are tired of the same ole tex-mex and looking for some really good mexican food, definitely come here! highly recommend Cuchara and can’t say enough great things about this fine establishment!

Authentic Mexican kitchen, ask for the specials since they had Torra de Chilaquiles con Milanesa this time and it was not on the menu as well as the traditional Chiles en Nogada as a special.

Gorgeous ambiance! The beautiful dining is room surrounded by glass looking out at the trees while listening to guitar music and dining on scrumptious food - what’s not to love!!?? We had the grilled shrimp, the green enchiladas, and of course the Churros - complimented with mimosas & French 75’s. The service is top-notch - it was absolutely the right choice before we headed to the Houston Ballet. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Went to Flora for dinner with my husband & daughter this evening & everything was FABULOUS!!! From the decor, ambiance, food & cocktails to our amazing waiter Gustavo. For our appetizers we had the octopus (AMAZING), a dozen oysters on the half shell, and the beef fajita nachos. For our entrées, we had the milanesa and the mole enchiladas. My husband and I had margaritas for our cocktails. Everything was absolutely delicious!

If I could choose one restaurant to go to every day, it would be Flora. It’s my go-to for all occasions: birthdays, anniversary dinners, showing off Houston to guests. The moment you walk in, the place feels magical. The chandeliers sparkle above you, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows let in soft light and views of the greenery outside. The décor blends elegance and warmth in the most beautiful way. The service is always so welcoming and attentive. Every time I visit, I hope to get Jireth as my server. She’s kind, observant, and always makes sure our drinks stay full and our table stays taken care of. She truly makes me feel seen. Food-wise, the carnitas are perfection. The beans are some of the best I’ve had, and the homemade tortillas are excellent. And Flora’s margarita The Grant? Pure magic! A spicy hint from jalapeño, balanced with perfect reposado and mezcal. Flora honors authentic Mexican food while adding creative touches. My taste buds are always surprised and delighted. Every time I leave, I already can’t wait to come back. Flora is a must for anyone visiting or living in Houston.

The aesthetics are absolutely stunning. The service was good and the food was overall okay. Highlights include the oysters and the overall vibe of the restaurant. The drinks were okay and given the price point I do expect a stronger drink. My group and I ordered a huge variety of options including the special, tacos, enchiladas, several appetizers and various cocktails. One negative, I do not believe any Mexican restaurant should be charging $2.00 per salsa. As someone who’s been to countless areas of Mexico for decades, please set your expectations appropriately. I personally had to season the guacamole with salt and pepper because it was a bit bland. Overall, I’m glad we checked out this restaurant but I don’t necessarily have to come back because of the food. Parking is a hit or miss, small area to park since it’s also parking for the cyclist and walkers/runners. 1 star each for the aesthetics, oysters and server.

My boyfriend chose this restaurant for our monthly date night and it did not disappoint. From the ambiance, to the service, it gave top tier. There is someone always there to assist and serve you and our server, Desiree (Desi) was top notch. She knew the menu as if she cooked every dish herself. She knew what sauces paired well with each dish and even told us what we should try next on our next visit. She was pleasant, hospitable and gave recommendations based on my vegetarian diet. The decor was absolutely beautiful and was a perfect end to a perfect night. We will be back and we will tell our friends!

Flora is an authentic Mexican restaurant that manages to excel for its food and setting. In a city with excellent “real” Mexican restaurants, Flora distinguishes itself by featuring some delicious dishes on its menu. The tuna tostada is a standout, as are the barbacoa and carnitas. During brunch they offer a delicious and unique desert. You can taste the Pan de Elote, which is a sweet corn bread served with honey marscapone. Be advised that it sells out. Finally their bar serves delicious concoctions with flair. All of this in one of Houston’s most beautiful settings. The main dining room is lovely, but can be cool and a little loud. Their outdoor patio is a little less formal, but puts you closer to nature. If the weather is nice, sit outside. If you prefer a “buzzier” atmosphere, inside is the place for you.

I understand why this place has such high ratings and views. I got the charred octopus as my main and it is incredible. I’ve had octopus before but not like this. Exquisite. Husband had the Mole Enchiladas and he was blown away. Margaritas are fantastic and beautifully crafted.

This place is definitely over priced... but the food is really good! We ordered nachos, ceviche, and the fajita parilla. The fajita was very tender and flavorful. My family would come back. Service was ok, our waiter misinformed us about drinks, didn't seem to know the menu well, but she was nice overall. Atmosphere was awesome!!

Came here around 1pm on a Monday and we were seated right away. Our waiter was fast with bringing our chips and salsas out (delicious by the way!!), and we placed an order for brisket nachos - we had no idea they were half off on Mondays, so they came out to about $12.50. The dish was HUGE and it is definitely one of my fave appetizers now!!! The brisket had a great smoky flavor that paired really well with the cream, bbq sauce, and onions it came with. I got a burrito for my entree with chicken fajita, which came out to about $20. The burrito already had beans and rice inside of it, but the dish still came with a side of each. I chose the burrito to be topped with queso (included) and I wished I ordered it on the side because it was a little overpowering and drenched the burrito. Still, it was VERY tasty and I would definitely order it again. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a great food experience!

We had a wonderful evening at Candente Mexican Restaurant while hosting my cousin visiting from Monterrey. The food was everything we hoped for — flavorful, generous, and beautifully plated. From the enchiladas smothered in rich chili gravy to the crispy flautas with fresh guacamole, every dish had that comforting Tex-Mex touch with authentic flair. The ceviche with avocado was light and refreshing, while the sizzling molcajete brought bold, smoky flavors to the table. Chips and queso were the perfect starter, and the rice and beans rounded everything out just right. The drinks made the evening even more special — the Mangonada, michelada Beer was a fun and refreshing twist, the Jalapeño Margarita had just the right amount of spice, and the Premium Mezcal was smooth and full of character. Service was warm and attentive, and the lively atmosphere made it the perfect setting to share stories, laugh, and enjoy a family evening together.

Delicious food and great service. Atmosphere was also nice but we had to sit outside in uncovered area which was not as nice as covered outdoor space. We enjoyed the fajitas- chicken and pork. Sides were also delicious.

Fajita perfection! I’m not a fan of steak and I ate more steak than chicken. The chicken was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. I’m not sure a better fajita exists! The grilled onions may have changed my life. Perfect blend of flavors and textures. I highly recommend this restaurant.

First timers to Candente, place seems to be a popular choice when going out. It was a full house on our visit. The outside seating patio was beautiful as well. Overall, we enjoyed it. Service was good, we didn't have anything major occur. The food was hit or miss depending on what you order. From the start, the salsa is delicious! Both had wonderful flavors and would want to know the recipe to make it at home. It's really good. The sad part is the hard chips that come with it. Know this is a staple at some establishments. However, a customer should have to feel like the chip could break a tooth or slice a gum. The 7 layer dip , with no layers was a miss for us. The fajita nachos, another miss. The chips don't help these dishes in any way again. The Ribs - get them and thank me later. By far some of the best ribs I've had ever. But would also never expected it to be from a Tex Mex spot in town. The 3 ceviche - tostadas were a favorite of our group. The rib eye fajitas, to me was just a cut up steak sliced to presentation. It had nothing more than a steak flavor. No Marinade - No Seasoning. While I get Tex Mex it does occur, typically there something other than steakhouse presentation. Go with the Skirt steak, it's much softer of a cut. The rest holds true between the skirt & ribeye. Pro Tip- The parking here is terrible! If you don't want your vehicle scratched, hit, or worse. Don't park in the parking garage. Trucks, SUVs, etc shouldn't be allowed. People were taking up two spots because they weren't able to fit in the Compact parking. Just park in the street and walk back down. Think some of the dishes could use some refinement and could be a hit or miss for some. Over all it's good, just not great. What were your favorites? Flavor was great. Meat is fantastic, but small portions. Service was just good, nothing special. Wait was 30 minutes, but hostess was not texting customers when their table was ready. Two sets of customers were passed over in addition to us. Hostess staff did not do a good job.

A no frills establishment with Absolutely the best experience for barbacoa and excellent authentic Mexican food. I dined for lunch on a Saturday and they had a band entertaining the guests with live Mexican music and songs. I thoroughly enjoyed the bacbacoa and the freshly made corn tortillas. I have to say the service I received was exceptional. I was welcomed immediately as I walked in and chose my own table. My server was attentive and checked on me just at the right times.

This review will probably make no justice to El Hidalguense. If you like barbacoa/chivito this is the place. Authentic Hidalgo Mexico style barbacoa in Houston. The barbacoa/chivito was amazing so was the consome (broth). Let’s not forget handmade tortillas. The fajitas were amazing.

Everyone here is so nice! The food is also great! Good portions and the flavor is all there. Even can with a nice complimentary appetizer and dessert. Will be back!

Service is terrible, I called ahead and placed an order and when we got there the lady said that they had just sold all of the chorizo. She never made the food for us so they sold out. She said the person had just come and ordered 8 tacos. Additionally , she started make the rest of my order and I asked for no beans and she proceeded to make the tacos with beans. Instead of starting over she just scraped the beans off and kept making the taco. Do not recommend solely based of service.

Don't bother. Service is awful. I made an order online, and when I got there they had sold part of my order to another customer. They didn't have the rest of my order made because they ran out of food. This is poor customer service. I won't be back. Save yourself the expense and go somewhere they honor you as a customer.

The guy on the phone wouldn't let me place a to go order saying it would take 2 minutes (not the case) but never mentioned that what I wanted to order wasn't available. My husband is about to pay and the guy tells him NO CHEESE. Not that they didn't run out, he says no one wanted it so they stopped using cheese. What?! The tacos were pretty bad so not sure the cheese would have made them much better but come on. You can't have it on the menu everywhere or a decent breakfast taco without it!

It's alright. Green sauce was hot and yummy if you like burning. My daughter said "how is this a quesadilla?" And the tortillas are not homemade. I'm going to stick to chilosos. Parking blows too as it's in the gas station.

So glad I got to finally try this place. I used to frequent the taco truck over at Alabama Ice House. This newer location is close to my office. The beef fajita Mexicana and picosa were the bomb! The pastor was solid. This place is legit! Will definitely be back often. Great tacos and friendly service at a great price.

The staff was very nice, and the food was delicious and well priced. I ordered at the bar, but paid at the gas station register, so they take credit cards unlike the famous truck. I had a pastor taco, a lengua taco, a barbacoa taco, and a fajita quesadilla. The lengua and barbacoa were flavorful and tender. The pastor was well seasoned and a little crispy. The fajita had some sauteed onions and peppers. They offered onions and cilantro at no extra charge, and their green salsa was wonderful. I will definitely be back to try their other options like chicharron, pollo poblano, and camarones.

One of the best places for Mexican food. I loved it. Service is really nice. The ambiance is good. We had something show in pictures I don't remember. We were really full by that dish. Chips were unlimited. Their salsa was too good. If I ever went to that place again that for that salsa only. That was really good. Overall experience is good.

Came here for lunch and left satisfied. Good service. Food came out quickly. Good portion and fair prices. Love the sauces they give with the chips.

Big plates of edible food. Some items are hit and miss as with most "Tex Mex" chains. Queso is a big fat no. Salsa and white chip dip are good. Taquito/Flautas are better than what you find in the frozen food section of the grocery store. Otherwise passable for quick dining. I would not go out of my way for this restaurant again, but in a pinch it is okay. Pricing is average for the quality. Definitely better places in the area.

Today I was with my coworkers at River Oaks Country Club having a good time, but the waitress's service was a nightmare. I'm truly sorry that the quality here has dropped to the minimum! None of us, and now none of our friends at River Oaks Country Club. Note: In the end, they simply kicked us out of the place.

Cannot speak highly enough of this location and their manager, Bruce, who helped my team with a large catering order for a professional event we held. Bruce was friendly, quick to respond and gave us a great deal on their catering package for over 150 people. On day of, Bruce called me personally to confirm the catering order (location, time, etc) and his team was on top of everything! They set it up perfectly and so fast, and walked me through everything I needed to know to make my event run smoothly. The food was fresh and delicious and we got so many compliments on the taste as well as the ease of serving themselves. Highly recommend Chuys catering for your future events!

We wanted to eat at a good Mexican restaurant downtown, and we found Guadalajara Del Centro, and we're glad we did. We had a nice time that evening, and we ordered the common Mexican dishes. The guacamole tasted awesome, and the chicken fajitas were especially tasty. The staff was polite and gave us a good seating choice as well as suggestions on dishes to order. This is located at a very nice spot in downtown Houston and we enjoyed to walk around after the dinner. Would visit again.

Bring your date here, We were in town for a conference and we ate here every night. It was good the first night. Then the second night we met some some co-workers who were going to the same place and then we came back and on my last day I had a brunch there before I left town. Upscale Mexican restaurant not overpriced. Drinks everything in there that you will need. Yes, I definitely recommend going to this place. If you're not sure where to go you will not regret it. Make a reservation if you want to sit in a booth.

Cannot recommend enough ! Huge restaurant with tons of space- didn’t have to wait for a table. The staff were all really nice, the service was pretty quick. I ordered the Enchilada Marisco (Shrimp and Lump Crab), and there was several shrimp in it and good chunks of crab. They were very creamy and fresh. The flavors were amazing. It was overall really tasty and highly recommended. We were there during happy hour too so I got a $6 house on the rocks marg- it was pretty good for $6 !

My family and I came on a Monday night, don’t worry there’s public parking all around. The atmosphere was nice very colorful Tex-Mex type of Vibe. The staff are very friendly, the time we arrived got seated right away and our Host Mark Anthony was super amazing . I myself ordered the shrimp tacos very delicious especially the green sauce that comes with it, ships and salsa can never go wrong, and the beans very tasty. It’s also Gluten-free friendly. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was the lateness of receiving our drinks/plates. Maybe they were short on staff but it did take awhile/slow. Overall very enjoyable.

First time in Guadalajara. Good location, good atmosphere and everything very clean. Parking is a bit complicated but it's downtown, most places are like that. Carlos L, our friendly server, but the service was too slow, our table had 8 people and on many occasions he was absent. Skinny Margaritas super good, very refreshing. I ordered a combo plate that had several things and I loved it, my favorites were the empanadas, I think if I go again I would only order them. We also ordered the chicken nachos, good flavor. In general, a good place, for any occasion. Happy Hour available.

this must be my 10th time here. Always great. Although I wish they had more veggie offerings than the regular 3-4 items. Met with my college buddy and his family for a small reunion. However, I must say. It is ridiculous to have to pay $2 for a hot sauce and $2(I believe) for making our Enchiladas extra spicy. I will not go there again.

This was our first time in Houston and we were so excited thinking we were going to get authentic Mexican food. This place had zero flavor. Their guacamole was simply avocado mushed up. The service was OK. The only positive thing was the salsa and the atmosphere was nice, but would not recommend to someone who’s visiting.

First time going and wish I could go back again. The food was excellent of the 4 of us that went no one had anything bad to say about the food. It came out in a timely fashion the flavors were bold and savory. I'm extremely sad to here they are closing in a few months after 44 years of service to the community. The vibes were amazing they had some music going a "band" with harp and guitar that came around to the tables, they did some happy birthday songs and a few others. The drinks were strong and well worth the price. I don't think I have enough words to say how good this restaurant really was. If you are thinking of going, go immediately you won't be upset. The waiters were friendly and service was A++. I would highly recommend and return.

First time visiting today after wanting to for a while. Very nice restaurant, inside and out. Clean and inviting with a very friendly staff. Complementary chips and salsa (deal breaker for me) was excellent!! This time I ordered the Carnitas Tacos and they were absolutely delicious. I’ll be back!

This place was amazing, super authentic and will be returning all the workers are amazing. Mauricio was our waiter, he went above and beyond with attending us. We ended up getting margaritas they were delicious. We also got tacos and flautas, they were super delicious. This was was 20/10 everything went above and beyond

Atmosphere 10/10 Customer service 20/10 I have never been to a restaurant where the whole staff is very attentive. Our drink never ran out, before we knew it waiter was bringing a new one. A manager walked by talked to us, he was such a vibe!! Loved the energy! 20/10 Overall definitely will be back.

44 years in business and I heard they were closing down soon. I went to support them and to try out their fajitas. There seems to be more people and customers showing up because they extended the closing until Jan. 2026. I was happy to hear this. The fajitas were great. I selected the beef and chicken combo. I liked the decor inside. The staff was friendly and helpful. More people should show up here. Great place for lunch, happy hour or dinner.

I've been going to Pico's since the 80s when they were at their other location on Bellaire Blvd. It's always been excellent. They use great ingredients, and the vibe is always festive and friendly. Their queso flameado, salsas, enchiladas, Chile relleno, and tacos are all very good. They would easily be the best Mexican food in most cities in the US. But Houston has a lot of serious competition. The soft shell crab is world class, best I've ever had.

When I saw the menu prices, I expected a service or the food would be pretty decent. First, the waiter wouldn't bring the little plates foe the chips until after we had ordered. I ask for it multiple times and he just said I'll bring them.I'll bring them. My spinach salad was horrible. Drenched in so much balsamic vinaigrette it was hard to eat. The steak fajitas that I paid extra nine dollars for, were tough/chewy. My friend asked for charro beans and they brought her the wrong kind. They charged over seven dollars for a glass of bottled lemonade. We had to ask multiple times for to-go containers And and then for a to go drink container. I asked for 3 soups to go. ( I ordered them at the beginning.Otherwise, I wouldn't have ordered anything else from this place) Even that they got wrong! I ordered one chicken soup, one green pozole and one red pozole. I got the chicken, which wasn't even closed well and it's spilled in my truck , and two red pozoles. No Green. When it was time to check out the waiter was right there next to me holding the credit card machine while I finished the transaction. I went to the bathroom and the stalls smelled like urine. I am never coming back and i'm not recommending this place to anybody. The chips were good.

The food tasted very good. Some of it was lukewarm/cold. The environment was beautiful. I went on Valentine’s Day and was late for my reservation but they managed to accommodate. The waiter was slow and not attentive. Enjoyed the 3 course meal deal for v-day.

This was my first visit to Churrascos and although it’s pretty pricey, I think I’ll be back once more to try something else on the menu. Food: I ordered the crab cakes for lunch but after the first bite, it failed to wow me. I then ordered the fried shrimps (6 on a stick) and they were so good! I paired them with the fried plantains and voila, chef’s kiss!!! Service: My waitress Lency was professional, attentive, and her suggestions were on point. She checked on me but didn’t overdo it which allowed me to enjoy my meal in peace. She was great! Ambiance: It was everything!!! I decided to sit outside on the patio since the interior of the restaurant was a bit cold for me. It was such a beautiful day, the music was perfect, and I had the entire patio to myself! I needed that time to myself and I couldn’t have asked for more.

We loved our dinner here. For entrees we had the carne asada, plaintain crusted chicken, and salmon (pictured), but the appetizers were just as good (empanadas and sirenas). Cocktails were great too, especially the pitaya margartia!

I decided to take this amazing woman out for her birthday to a restaurant she had always seen but never tried. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel truly welcome—attentive service, full drink glasses, and even extra napkins without asking. The little things really stood out. We ordered based on some mouthwatering photos we found on Google, and they did not disappoint. She went with the flat iron steak topped with a mountain of cheese and served with smashed potatoes—simple combo, but absolutely delicious. I had a filet mignon (I believe it was called the Presidential Cut) paired with risotto and seasonal vegetables. Every bite was rich and flavorful. I’d recommend ordering family style so you can share and try a bit of everything. One fun surprise: instead of traditional chips, they bring out thinly sliced, crispy fried plantains with dip—such a unique and tasty touch. I can’t remember the names of the drinks we ordered (was a little too excited to impress my date), but they were spot-on—well-balanced and perfectly mixed. If you’ve ever driven by and thought about checking it out, this is your sign. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale without being stuffy, parking was easy, and even the restrooms were spotless. I attended a private event and the staff was SUPER hospitable! Special SO to Alberto and Elliott at the bar! I didn't catch the names of the other staff, but everyone was pleasant, polite, and professional. The food was tasty and unique. I've been to other locations and enjoyed this one as well. Good selection for happy hour. The fresh guacamole stood out, so tasty! Very limey(which I love) but if you don’t like lime, it might not be for you. The ceviche had big pieces of tough tilapia which made it hard to eat, not a big fan of it. Great, attentive staff!

I love their happy hour!!! Great appetizers. Great wine specials. Fried plantains and chimichurri sauce are to die for. Tres leches is the best in Houston. Empanadas are exceptional!! Carnitas... on point! Espresso martini... perfecto! Highly recommend!!!

I really think this restaurant is faking its top reviews. Tortillas are not fresh, you can taste the preservatives. Same with the cheese. It’s covered in the same dust as shredded cheese you get from the grocery store. The beef fajita meat was very tough, had bad texture, and no flavor. Try a different restaurant in the area instead. Worse than chuy’s, worse than gringo’s, worse than taco cabana. HEB sells 20 fresh tortillas for like $5, there’s no reason for a taco restaurant to not be using fresh tortillas. Gas station quality, downtown price. Staff were friendly, atmosphere was fine. My wife got the fish tacos and said the only thing good was the Coke Zero.

The burrito I had was good and huge, maybe a little less flavorful than I was hoping. They put a good amount of meat in it though. Was not a fan of the tres leches cake. It was very thin, no milk on the bottom and way too much cinnamon. Prices were fair. The atmosphere and set up was very nice

Bodegas Taco Shop, conveniently nestled in the Museum District, proved to be the perfect fuel for our adventure. Stepping out of the museum and into the early evening, the casual and lively atmosphere of Bodegas was a welcome transition. With the promise of a high-energy concert ahead, we opted for a mix of fresh and flavorful tacos to power us through the night. The grilled chicken tacos were a solid choice. The chicken was tender and juicy, with a nice char-grilled flavor that paired well with the fresh toppings. Each bite was a straightforward and satisfying taste of a classic done right. The standout, however, was the fish tacos. Lightly battered and perfectly flaky, the fish was complemented by a crisp slaw and a creamy sauce that provided a refreshing contrast. They were a flavorful and surprisingly light option that didn't weigh us down before an evening of standing and cheering. Bodegas Taco Shop delivered exactly what we needed: delicious, quick, and energizing food in a prime location. It was the ideal pit stop in a day filled with Houston's finest offerings, from ancient fossils to modern metal legends. Always hits the spot. Most don't even know they exist. They are the Gem of the medical center. The associates are always friendly and the the restaurant is always clean. 10/10 recommend.

Nice setup as far as the atmosphere but that is about all. The food is over priced, overcooked and it all comes straight out of a bag from the frozen food section from grocer supply or sysco. The rice had no flavor or seasoning just added corn to give it the presentation it needed to look appetizing but it was completely BLAND anlong with the beans and salsa. Also the chicken strips were ($13 )HARD DRY & extremely over cooked and the portion size was off...along with the flautas which were EXTRA CRIPSY & the chicken on the ends from the flautas was also burnt..but they still sent it off the line to serve to the customer. The only items that were actually good at this restaurant was the house RANCH & GUACAMOLE BOTH WERE AMAZING 👏 😋

I appreciate his patience and great attitude; very friendly, helpful and kind. I was also very satisfied that Liz kept refilling our chips and salsa and also helped to check in on our table. Another server name Eugene overheard my request when our waiter was not around and he went to bring us what we needed (huge plus, thanks for stepping up and working as a team!) Met here for a family meal and we will be back. Food was very flavorful and huge portions. Attention to details. Loved the addition of other veggies to the fajita plate and pico! The poblano cream sauce was decadent and delicious. Bailey, our server, was friendly and attentive and made sure we had time to visit and enjoy our meal. She also knew the menu well - the Blue Mule she recommended was so good that I had 2. The only draw back for me was the chips. They were thicker than normal and a little grainy. But the red and green sauces were great. The only reason I didn’t give Atmosphere 5 stars was the parking lot. It’s a little sketchy but there is security. All in all it was a great night.

I love how this place opens so late! This is my second time getting velvet taco however the first one at this location. Chili shrimp was probably the best taco that we got, the rotisserie chicken was not good as it was very mushy and finally the Korean fried rice taco was all right. I’d come back and try their other tacos.

So happy we found this spot! Delicious and unique tacos - very allergy friendly! We loved the curry cheese dip & both got awesome tacos. I’m super grateful they have a separate gluten free menu! They made a couple of the tacos with corn tortillas for me. Would definitely go back!

We love the velvet taco off Washington in Houston. It's always clean, fast and full of friendly smiles. It's always fresh and on point.

Me and my wife did the combo and I had the mexi cali shrimp and slow roasted angus brisket tacos. And she got the birria tacos. They were so so fresh. They came out pretty quickly too. But they were absolutely beautifully presented. The little diner theme was so cute and it smelt so good inside.

Finally got a chance to try the new bowls. It was very filling. I had the sreak bowl no guacamole.

This place once had the most chill vibe on Washington. Now it seems a little subdued. The place should have been packed, and it might have been the rain, but there were two other people there, that's it. The huge megalithic gas and smoke station, with their lighting that's visible to Mars, next door kind of kills the mood. Like when you turn the lights on to see the person you brought home from the bar.

I’ve tried all four vegetarian enchilada options at Silvia’s Enchilada Kitchen, and it’s honestly hard to pick a favorite—they’re all absolutely delicious! Each dish is flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, making it a fantastic spot for vegetarians. The staff is warm and helpful, always ready to explain the menu and offer recommendations. To top it off, their chocolate tres leches cake and flan are not to be missed—both are rich, satisfying, and the perfect end to a great meal. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving comforting, flavorful Mexican food with great service.

As a lover of both Tex-Mex and Mexican food, I am happy to report that Sylvia’s is ~really~ good! The quality, of both the food and service, at this location has been top-notch for many years. I’ve always liked enchiladas, and have tried most of the menu. The red salsa that comes with the chips is also very good. The place can get quite busy in the evening, and at those times finding a parking spot can be difficult.

The food is sheer perfection – all the way around. The only thing that lacked was our service. Our server was MIA 90% of the time. The salsa is exactly what I’m looking for in a salsa. It finally compares to the ones I’m used to in Austin. I literally demolished two bowls of the salsa. The crab enchiladas were stuffed with real crab. And the four smaller samples of enchiladas is a brilliant idea. Each had a very unique flavor and it was a great way to try different enchiladas. The drinks were good – the booze kind of sneaks up on you later. Happy hour offered Monday through Friday. I cannot wait to go back— and get a different server!

Excellent service and food! Chips & salsa are great! I like everything I've had here, but the spinach enchiladas (Crystal City) are my favorite! They have dishes in 3 categories: Tex-Mex, North Mexico, and South Mexico. There's something for everyone. The Margheritas area great, as well!

She is crown the enchiladas queen and so shall she rule. Her South and North enchiladas we amazing..I highly recommend it here. ADA wheelchair accessible. Very clean and her knowledge about her history is amazing to listen to. Yummy you can also host private events here. Dog friendly patio.

This was the absolute best Mexican food I have had in a while. The salsa was fresh, warm and delicious. The original frozen margarita was strong and tasty! The enchiladas were to die for and the sopapillias hands down best I have ever had. Has a great patio and a large bar. Parking is plentiful. I will definitely be back. Very satisfied with the experience!

This is our second visit here. Our first visit was flawless but this one was a different story. Wife ordered chicken quesadillas with beans no rice and I ordered chicken enchiladas with red sauce. The quesadillas came out with rice no beans and my enchiladas came out with green sauce instead of red. Overall the food was good just not prepared the way we ordered it.

La Mexicana was a great dining experience. We enjoyed the frozen margaritas which wasn’t the typical generic syrup mix. It actually was balanced in flavor with the correct level of sweet and tangy. I ordered beef tacos with cilantro and onion. The chunks of bite-size meat were huge and flavorful. My girlfriend ordered the fish tacos, as did my daughter, and they both enjoyed them. My son ordered one of the biggest burritos we have ever seen. It was so big that he had to cut it in half and take the rest home. He said it was really tasty.

Not bad but also not flavorful. Chicken fajitas arrived on a standard plate with onions that were cooked for what looks like a few seconds. Chicken enchiladas with mole were very basic and not packing any flavor. First time here and probably our last as too much competition in the area. 2 people with water and queso $56.00

Came for brunch this morning. The food was amazing. Our server MIGUEL ANGEL was very rude and displayed homophobic behavior to my friends, slammed a cup on our table when we asked for a refill. Forgot multiple items from our order, never really checked up on us throughout our meal. Had multiple other tables around us that he was very attentive to and charismatic but with our table gave one word replies when asking questions or ignored us completely. We came from DFW for a concert on vacation and this wasn’t a pleasant experience service wise but the food was delicious.

The food wasn't good at all I had the scrambled eggs with fajita chicken and beans. The chicken was too tough I couldn't finish eating it and the salsa was disgusting I actually spit it out I never do that and the waiter wasn't that attentive. I've definitely had better Mexican food and better service. Definitely Will Not Return.

I came to the bar tonight to grab a quick night cap and watch the Rockets game. The same is really nice and welcoming. I ordered a Classic Old Fashioned. I really appreciated the attention to the cocktail as it is easy to make and easier to mess up.

The place looks nice but the service was really slow. It wasn’t too busy so there weren’t a lot of wait staff. I only came here to eat because someone else was buying. 1. Started with the house guacamole and it was blend. The chips were thick with some crispy and some soft with oil. This was disappointing. 2. The corn and chicken chowder was surprisingly good for as simple as it was. The bowl was a nice portion. 3. The best thing about the shrimp and avocado salad was the shrimp. Season nicely and not too dry. However the salad was just boring and tasteless. I had honey mustard but it wasn’t very good. Overall the cost of food with food that was too plain and simple doesn’t make it worthwhile to come here.

We ate here our first night. It was late and the restaurant was quiet. We ate at the bar. Jose the bar manager was incredibly helpful in chatting to us about the city, good places to eat and visit. He couldn't have been more helpful. Food was tasty and the kitchen were happy to vary dishes you suit. Thanks from the English couple for all of your recommendations.

Had the steak nachos when I arrived at the hotel and decided to get breakfast the next day. The ham cheese and egg croissant sandwich was outstanding. So was the coffee. Price point was fair as well.

The restaurant in the hotel (Edgar's) had decent food at somewhat reasonable prices. Guilty pleasure was the short rib grilled cheese sandwich. The gentleman behind the bar was super friendly too. Surprisingly empty during my stay but maybe I missed the rush. Will be back!

Finding it was tricky because it is on the 2nd floor of the Whitehall hotel but the concierge pointed us in the right direction. Service was great. It was quiet but the food was good and hot. The portions were large for us Brits so we didn't manage to finish our two courses so bring your appetite!

Stayed at The Whitehall Hotel and on the second floor they have the best little restaurant. Depending on your room if you get the free complementary breakfast during your stay. This is not a continental breakfast! It's a huge serving. I love it here. The food is really good. But for me the service is outstanding. Highly recommend the restaurant even if you aren't staying here.

Reasonably priced very good food, lively atmosphere, and warm and welcoming staffs, I really enjoyed and relaxed at this restaurant. They seemed to serve real Mexican dishes. The taste and flavor were somewhat different from Mexican dishes I usually eat on the West Coast. If I have a chance, I would visit this restaurant again with my friends, not alone.

It was our first time there and when we first came inside the hostess was very friendly and showed us to our table. The waitress was in training and had someone with her but both of them were friendly and they didn't rush us. The food was delicious 😋 and both my picky kids ate their food. The drinks were amazing. This was a first time visit; My guys took me for my birthday. Our server, sorry I forgot her name, was very pleasant and helpful. She made our visit and my birthday dinner special. Our meals were excellent and the dessert with a song was a complete surprise!

We were welcomed at the door by the host that opened the door for us to enter. She was dressed in traditional Mexican dress attire . It set the mood instantly. We were seated immediately and we were asked if it was our first time . The host, the waiter and the manager were all so sweet and welcoming ! We were recommended the street corn which was delicious!! I got Birria tacos and my friend got Tongue tacos . Their cucumber Serrano margarita was the best! I recommend this restaurant to everyone ! You will feel so welcomed and the food is delicious. I will definitely go back again !!

Was my first time there. I went with a friend who's birthday we were celebrating. Loved that we received these delicious corn on the cob appetizer for being our first time. The atmosphere was definitely welcoming and service was great! For my friend birthday they brought out a cute cart with churros 😋

Definitely would have given this a 5 star if the service was better. The food was incredibly delicious and everything tasted fresh. I wanted to try the margaritas because they looked delicious but because they were taking forever I decided not to. There were only two guys serving on the floor and I definitely understand short staff shortage but it was not all enjoyable. This place has potential though because their food is great. The place is not that big but they do have a good seating amount as well as a bar and outside seating.

Absolutely delicious, amazing flavourful what an great surprise. Loved the double bacon wrapped poppers with sweet carmelized onions and they are huge. Got the tres enchiladas, Mole enchiladas were my favorite!!!!! Prices were good too.

My first impression driving up to this place was... uhhh are we sure this is the right place.. Its a bit of a dive.. but I like a bit of adventure and I was told they had really good Margherita's.. so I went in.. The atmosphere was a bit lacking but the staff was friendly. They quickly got us seated and the service was pretty good. The chips and salsa were lacking. More the salsa and the green just weren't my thing. The Pico was good though. No big deal.. Where the chips and salsa lacked .. they made up for it big time on the Margheritas. We tried 4 different flavors all were good. They were huge. Loaded with booze and tasted good. Ordered some queso with brisket next. They screwed it up and just brought queso, but fixed it quickly. Definitely much better than the salsa. Also has the bacon wrapped shrimp. It was a bit sweet to taste which I wasn't expecting but okay. I can't say it was a home run though. Probably wouldn't get it again. The fajitas though were great and the beans.. loved the beans and I'm not a big fan of beans normally. So.. for this place to get 4 stars from me. 1) couple screw ups on service. Solve that. 2) invest in a sign and update the place a bit. You have a decent product but I'm sure that people pull up and drive away. 3) change the salsa and green thing. Just didn't do it for me. 4) come up with some combinations of margaritas that are popular. I had to think about it and would be nice to have something to just pick from that had flavors mixed. The pricing was amazing. Way cheaper than expected. I'd definitely come back for some drinks and fajitas again.

Huge margaritas...I mean huge. And lots of flavors. I had the blueberry margarita. I have not seen a blueberry margarita before. It was very good. They are not very strong, but by the end you'll notice the alcohol. Chip sauces were good and fresh. We got a red salsa, fresh pico, and a green sauce. Don't see that much anymore. My favorite was the green sauce. Great heat level, with a ton of flavor. My entree was the Pork Belly Tacos. They were tender and delicious. I will be back for more.

Some of the most amazing food and very hospitable staff. The BEST tortilla chips I have ever had. Definitely recommended. It is so close to the Hobby, if you're at hotel nearby. Please don't regret not coming here.

Wife had Tacos Mole (3) and I had the Small Pozole Pork Soup with Sweet Toasted Bread. We were also offered Chips and Salsa (3 delightful Salsas plus Pico de Gallo. Everything was Tasty, the Service was Awesome.

Absolutely enjoyed our visit. The food was great. The atmosphere was authentic. The waitresses were awesome. I ordered the Diablo tacos. Everything tasted fresh. Beware, the borracho had a little heat to them, but I'm a spice wimp. Great flavor, though. If you get a chance, try it out. If I had one negative, it would be the sewer smell in the bathrooms. But, if you want authentic, this goes with it.

We ate dinner at Ninfas by the Hobby airport while staying at a nearby hotel before an early morning flight. The restaurant is very close to the airport and Marriott hotel making it a convenient choice. It has been many years since we’ve eaten at a Ninfas and it used to be a favorite Mexican restaurant chain for us when in Houston. We enjoyed the exemplary service from Amely F. She promptly greeted us with a pleasant smile and helpful suggestions. The menu provided ample choices of traditional Tex Mex and grilled favorites. We shared our two dinner orders and enjoyed the tamale, enchilada, and grilled beef, and sausage along with charro beans. The chicken was a bit dry, and the heated tortilla was a bit chewy. La Perfecta margarita was excellent. While the restaurant itself was fine, it was a bit dated and the atmosphere could use a refresh. Overall we were pleased with the dinner experience highlighted by Amely’s friendly, professional, and attentive service. If you are in the Hobby airport area it is a solid choice.

A Diamond in the rough. The atmosphere is so peaceful, feels like a quint restaurant in Mexico. The food is all authentic home made, and delicious. The staff is so efficient and friendly. Arturo the owner talks to everyone, and gives some history and explains the dishes. The bartender Selia is amazing at serving delicious drinks. I’ll be back and will bring others with me

The food is simply delicious—my sister’s boyfriend put it best when he said, “They can’t miss.” Every dish we tried was incredibly fresh, and the seafood in particular was outstanding. The service was equally impressive. Every server we met was friendly and welcoming, and a special shout-out goes to Anita for her warm hospitality and attentive care. I would honestly return to Houston just to eat here again. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and consistent quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excellent food, great service, and true value.

Absolutely blown away by the fresh flavors and warm ambience here. I tried the ceviche verde at my server’s recommendation, which was an extremely generous portion and so full of flavor and texture. Then i had the tamal delote with shrimp and bacon which is one of the best entrees I’ve ever had. So creamy and garlicky and delicious! I wish I lived in Houston and could come here again

Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff! We tried a few things and loved them all. This is the first time I've had octopus and really enjoyed it. Food was very fresh, rich and delicious! Drinks were good, too. Ask for their spicy salsas for an extra kick! Absolutely loved the staff.

My wife and I stopped by The Fisheries for lunch and were immediately struck by the vibrant, colorful atmosphere it’s a lively spot that sets the tone for a fun meal. Once seated, we were served complimentary chips with tomatillo salsa. The salsa was spot on: tangy, fresh, and full of flavor. The chips, however, felt like they came straight out of a bag not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. We started with the tuna tostadas. The tuna itself was fresh and well prepared, but the tostada base was a little stale, and the chipotle mayo lacked any real chipotle flavor. For our mains, my wife had the ribeye tacos with rice and beans, and I went with the pulpo a la parrilla. Honestly, it felt like these two dishes came from completely different kitchens. The ribeye tacos were fine nothing particularly memorable and the sides didn’t elevate the plate. But the octopus? That was a home run. Tender, flavorful, and beautifully complemented by vegetables and yuca. The guajillo salsa tied everything together perfectly. It was the kind of dish that makes you pause and appreciate every bite. Despite a few misses, we’d definitely come back to explore more of the menu. If the octopus is any indication, there are gems to be found.

I grew up with rice and beans, but holly cow, these are the best I have eaten in my entire life! The chips, the tacos, the sauce, the tamarind margarita, the oysters - were absolutely phenomenal. But let’s talk about the service… My girl Anita seriously gave the best customer service I have received nationwide; and I am a traveler! Her politeness, her professionalism, and friendliness seriously made our date night even better. I must add, the host and the table server were also super sweet. We stopped by for date night and loved everything. This is authentic and creative Mexican in the heart of Houston. I got the guava mango margarita. It is sweet but not sickly. The presentation for everything is amazing. We also got the guacamole and were overwhelmed with how fresh and perfect it paired with the beef topping - a must try. Both my husband and I tried the ribeye aguachile. I have never had ribeye this way, it was seared to a perfect medium and served in a perfect poblano sauce with lime, cucumber, and avocado chunks. It was a food pairing I am dying to try to recreate. Our server, Anita, was amazing; she was friendly, gave great suggestions, and attentive. This is a must try for happy hour or date night.

I've been to Guadalupana many many times, because I used to live close by & it's convenient. The food in general is solid & filling & tastes ok, but honestly not extraordinary. I've pretty much had their entire menu, but mostly gravitate towards their breakfast dishes. Their coffee is AWESOME & I've bought several bags over the years. The staff & service are super friendly & great to be around. Parking is not convenient, so avoid the rush hours. I mostly used to walk there. It's a great little place to grab a quick bite or meet a friend, but the space is somewhat limited for big parties, & it can get a bit loud, but the energy is good.

We stopped by to get breakfast tacos bc the coffee shop we tried that morning didn't have food. We had to park up the road bc parking was crazy, but ordered quickly and got our food fast. The staff was friendly and the spot reminded me of a diner I used to go to as a kid. Tacos were fine, flour tortillas were better than the corn. I wish the salsa was hotter, but it had good flavor. We also got a marranito to take home.

A whole lot of choices. Tried some excellent pozole and an omelet especial. Superb refried beans. The best cup of restaurant coffee I've ever had and I've had a lot.

Got the mole enchilada and breakfast sandwhich. Pro Tip: sub the croissant bread for the almond croissant. Adds a sweetness. Don’t think. Just do it. Lots of drink options for the vampiro juice horchata and cafe.

We came for breakfast and it was delicious! Really good coffee, pozole and enchiladas verdes. It’s a bit cramped but all in all delicious food. Oh also…the almond croissant is amazing, must try!

Service was alright. Food was mediocre, the tortillas for the tacos were still cold and didn’t seem to have been placed on the comal for long. Steak fajita tacos were too chewy, but I wasn’t sure if there was an option for carne asada instead of the fajita. Horchata, Ice Coffee, and chips and homemade salsa were good!

I love coming here, but make sure if you don’t want to wait in line, I’d come very early. Mid morning you know the line is out the door, but definitely worth it. As you can see, my favorite is pork chop tacos lol Soooo yum!

Solid spot for classic, no frills tacos. The handmade tortillas are fresh and the fillings; especially the barbacoa and picadillo are flavorful, though overall the food is simple and straightforward. Service is fast but rushed and not particularly friendly, so don’t expect a warm welcome. Great value for the price, but be prepared for long lines and a very casual experience.

Everything is made from scratch — especially the homemade flour tortillas (they’re next level). I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it’s always been consistently amazing. It’s family-owned, full of heart, and serves up some of the best tacos in Houston — hands down. Be prepared to wait during busy hours, but trust me, it’s totally worth it every time.

I came here almost weekly several years back and tacos were good. But now it's different. They need to improve the taste. Service is still top knotch. Always busy tho.

I was going to take a picture of my food, but it looked so good I couldn’t wait! From the moment we walked in, everything smelled fresh and the place was spotless and well organized. We were greeted right away, and as soon as we sat down, fresh salsa and warm chips were brought out, absolutely delicious. The music, the atmosphere, and the customer service were all top notch. And the food? Incredible! Definitely a 10/10 experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and great vibes.

Absolutely delicious and authentic Mexican food! We had the caldo de pollo, enchiladas verdes, and a gordita with chorizo and egg - everything was full of homemade flavor. The coffee with canela was a perfect touch!

Great Mexican hot chocolate. Great food. Great prices. I made the mistake of going to another restaurant a little to the east for breakfast this morning (with a decent rating maybe 4.6) and the potatoes were hard, they brought the wrong tortillas, their 5 dollar hot chocolate is just a packet of American style cocoa, and the eggs had no flavor. I've never had a bad experience at Puebla's and I'm sad I took my girlfriend elsewhere.

The food was good, very fresh, and authentic to Mexican food. Service overall was okay, but the restaurant and their parking are ridiculously small. Would come again.

Food is amazing! Tortillas were delicious. Everything was delicious. The restaurant gives a very cozy feeling. Don’t recommend big parties. There’s not too much seating. I believe they can see a party of a if you arrive when it’s not too busy. They can see a party of four comfortably. Overall, I think this place is great.

Been driving by this place for years and finally stopped in. Boy am I mad it took so long to finally go. Best authentic comfort Mexican food I’ve had in the city. The mole is 10/10. Service and ambiance was also great.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Polanquito is my little neighborhood spot. They have happy hour from one to 4 PM where you get 50% off, but I love coming here on a Sunday morning for brunch. The service is impeccable and chef. Diego is excellent at what he does. the food is absolutely incredible. I love that I am supporting a small business also

First time there today and just left, the place was amazing. There was a kind man at the door who greated me and told me to sit anywhere while i waited for the rest of my table. He was sooo nice and welcoming. The coffee was amazing and i also got a concha :) i tried the mole sampler and all 3 moles were delicious. Also the fresh orange juice was great. I got to see the molletes and they looked to die for. I didnt get the servers name but he was also really nice and attentive. (He had a tattoo by the ear i think) overall, great experience, will definitely come back.

This is authentic mexican food!!! Its been a while since I was home so stopping by Houston and finding this hidden gem was a big win! The service is above expectations, food tastes delicious and prices are well balanced Definitely a must stop by whenever im back in the area

The service was phenomenal! We came 15 minutes before opening and an older gentleman invited us to wait inside. He offered us coffee and conchas. I forgot to take a before picture, but the serving portions were good. I also got (not pictured, but other people have uploaded) molletes. Everything came out to $88 I lost the receipt, but it was extra for protein. It def felt like I was eating back in Mexico

*** Replying to owner. You are incorrect no one asked us before we left if we needed anything. Now you do have mole verde on your menú. It's listed under your platos fuertes /moles. Is that not your menu photo. The box was for the pork not the rice which is what I listed. Now if I had a large horchata that should not matter being as soon as we sat our drink order was water and it was not brought until I asked owner. The chicken on chilaquiles was brought after I told waiter what he ordered that was not on plate it was missing.*** We asked for water that was never brought. We had to ask who I believe was the owner. He brought 2 small glasses never asked if we wanted more water. So I sat sipping my water to not run out. I ordered mole verde that comes with cilantro rice and black beans. Rice was hard and undercooked. My husband asked for chilaquiles with chicken. He did not get the chicken. Never asked if we needed anything. Poor service and honestly poor food. Not worth it. Very expensive for bad experience.

Was seated quickly, not very busy (luckily, as the parking lot was very tiny). I will say their were definitely options to choose from, the atmosphere was nice, cool custom jars for coffee, but the food was nothing amazing. I could serve myself the same can of coke (yes, a can) and Mole Chilaquiles from home. However, in the end everything was priced as if it were a 5 star restaurant. Way too much money for the mid quality food.

Very flavorful and well seasoned steak tacos. They only have beef - fajita or tongue for meat options. The tacos are cheap and delicious. I noticed a lot of people ordering the plate which I’ll have to try next time. They also have agua frescas and yes they’re cash only.

El Taconaso as excellent food, highly recommended. The place is always packed, and they take one order at a time, which makes service very slow. Better management could improve the experience and their business significantly.

I consider el taconazo as one of the food staples of Houston, a hidden gem that you shouldn't miss. There is no bs, just delicious lengua and barbacoa. There are more items, but this is always my go-to. Do I need to say more? The lengua is always tender and delicious. They also have a plate with cheese, which I also recommend a lot! But if you're on the run, make a quick pit stop, I recommend the tacos fuel up your engine and hit the road to continue with your day!

This location used to be the spot for lunch break and I was so excited to try it again after a year but I was disappointed. The flavor wasn't like how it was back in the day nor the beans we were left disappointed when eating the food.

Some of the best tacos in all of Houston. Value for the money spent is great. The tacos are full of flavor, perfect moisture and not dry. The salsa was spicy but not so spicy that it overpowers the flavor of the meat. I would definitely go back if I find myself in that area.

Wow! This place packs some flavor! The prices are great and the food is awesome. The Trompo was flavorful and tender. The fajita was a over average in taste but well above average in tenderness. Great taco stop for anyone in the area. Fast and friendly. They do speak fluent English for those that can’t speak Spanish.

Coming from San Antonio, last thing I wanted was Mexican food. But this place is a winner!! Off train line, fast service (line went QUICK), good size portion (and im a big guy that can eat), very affordable and food was excellent!! Plus I loved the vibe as many ate on top of hoods or tailgates. Whenever im back in H-town this place will defintely be on my to eat-at list!!

Sometimes you find yourself in a place that makes you pause and wonder how you got there – and what it is you were hoping to discover. We traveled to Houston with the intention of exploring its fine dining scene, particularly the Mexican influences woven into the city’s culinary landscape. High on our list was Tatemó, a Michelin-starred gem with just 18 seats and a bring-your-own-wine policy – both charming and rare. With a single knock on the door, we were warmly welcomed by a passionate host who walked us to our table and introduced the evening’s menu with genuine enthusiasm. What followed was nothing short of a flavour rollercoaster. The meal began with a beautifully balanced starter and only escalated in richness and complexity with each course. We came with no expectations and were completely swept away by the depth of earthy, culturally rooted flavours paired with fresh, vibrant ingredients that made each dish sing. One particular course – delicate, sweet, and almost sushi-like in its elegance – caught us completely off guard in the best possible way. We still talk about this meal. And we hope to return in September, drawn back by a dining experience that left a lasting impression we won’t soon forget.

Great experience. Impeccable service. Food was a delight. The concept is very unique. Wife and I left satisfied but not stuffed to the brim. Each course was unique and flavorful. Definitely worthy of the James Beard Award and Michelin Star. Pictures of each course are attached and you will see I may have taken a bite before the picture was taken.

We were super impressed with the creativity and taste of the dishes we had! We came to celebrate my partner's birthday so we brought a bottle of wine since they only have non-alcoholic drinks. We did try the De La Calle Tepache grapefruit lime flavor and it was great! The first dish of the tasting menu, Tostada de Tuna, was the best thing I've ever had with caviar. I could've eaten 10 of those! The Taco de Pescado was absolutely delicious as well! The portions were perfect, and we were pleasantly satisfied by the end of the night.

All I can say is wow wow wow!! Tatemo is a quiet, quaint and elegant atmosphere all at the same time. Carrying a Michelin star, the food was outstanding, ranging from a Tuna Tostada topped with Russian caviar, a Wagyu Beef Encachetada with just the perfect amount of marbling to leave your mouth drooling, and ending on a Postre de Temporada (Toasted Pineapple and Mango Sorbet, Mascarpone, Pistachio, Chamoy, Hoya Santa Nicutole, & Olive Oil)… just to call out a few of the courses. Everything absolutely made from scratch, screams to the passion of Chef Emmanuel Chavez’s love for his food and attention to detail. The servers are amazing and completely versed in every bite that you will be taking and will guide you through this culinary journey. And lastly, for the atmosphere… As you walk in, you really do not know what to expect as the front has no markings or sign on the restaurant, adding to its mystique. When you walk in, it is a very intimate setting, seating a maximum of maybe 18 people, reservation only; it is very quiet and quite relaxing. Definitely an adults only environment due to the sheer elegance of the food and environment. If you’re going to be in Houston, you’re going to want to make it a priority to get reservations as soon as possible, since they are at a premium… completely worth it! I definitely see a second Michelin Star in the future of Tatemo! Chef Emmanuel… I hate that I didn’t get to shake your hand, but I will leave you with this… Well Done!!!

We arrived at Tatemo and weren't sure we had actually arrived. We were a bit confused and lost in finding the restaurant. (We drove past it twice and didn't realize where it was until the doors opened and saw other patrons leaving). Aside from the marquis sign reading "Tatemo, "...the building is not marked. It's across the street from Karbach Brewery. Rest assured you have arrived. We were 30 minutes early for our reservation, and decided to head in to use the restroom and take a few pictures. However, seating is extremely limited, and interior is dimly lit with majority of lighting coming from candles. There is one restroom for the venue, and it was occupied, so we were asked to wait in our vehicle. We left up the street to use the restroom, and returned 10 minutes prior to our reservation. Thankfully, our table was ready, so we were immediately seated. The food is good. In fact, very good. The tostada was the best I've ever had. Same for the salsas. Talk about any explosion of flavor!! The red salsa was where it's at, such a rich and nutty flavor (reminds me almost of a good pesto, but red and spicy). Also notable was the encachetada. The wagyu ribeye was out of this world soft and tender. That was quite an experience! I could eat a dozen of the Bunuelos. (Probably not, but Mama didn't raise a quitter, so I'd sure try!) There was a couple seated at the bar, and the young man proposed to his date. It was wonderful, and really made the whole night celebratory. The staff did a fantastic job at making those guests (and really all of us in the restaurant) feel special. The newly engaged couple was celebrated and cheered on by the whole restaurant, and chef Emmanuel came around and provided conversation and celebratory shots to each patron to celebrate love. We were very grateful to be a part of this night. It did indeed feel magical! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our date night. The food was great, as was the personal attention of Chef Emmanuel. I am hopeful that Emmanuel and his team can continue on with their success and expand into an environment worthy of their food and services.

Exceptional service and great experience at Tatemó! The unassuming-low key vibe keeps all the focus on the food…exactly where it needs to be! Each course was unique and full of flavor. The staff is welcoming and fun. We loved every minute of our dinner.

So, the salsa was pretty amazing. Better than anything back home in Orange. The queso was delicious as well. The chips were thin and tasty. The strawberry lemonade was to die for.The ribs were phenomenal...I wasn't expecting that much food... Honestly much more food than I thought I was going to get. Our server, Karina was excellent, professional, and thoughtful...not to mention beautiful. Me, my mom, and step-dad enjoyed it thoroughly. Thank you so much.

Tex Mex restaurant in the Downtown area. Bustling restaurant with good selection of Mexican food. Ordered a Mango margarita, which was huge and seemed to be almost bottomless. For Main course I went for a half rack of ribs with bacon wrapped prawns filled with cheese. My dining companion ordered the crispy rolled chicken tacos, which he thought were great and really crispy. Great food which is reasonably priced

I enjoyed myself. The menu seemed different than I remembered or maybe not… last time I visited was l from years back. Seating was at the bar due to a crowd but Ashley was great! Patient and very nice. I salsa was warm to hot which I never had before but fresh and tasty. My meal wasn’t bad and the tres leeches cheesecake for Cinco de Mayo was really good. Best thing I got.

The margaritas are fabulous but pricey ,$24 for a large . The food was pretty good . Mixed grill was an excellent choice for and all the meat was tender and lots of flavor . Rice and beans were sub-par and tasted bland to us. The red snapper was exceptional but a small filet dressed in peppers and onions to make a meal. Chips and salsa were great , salsa had amazing flavor .

It's a great example of the Pappas brand. The service was great even though it was dead on a Sunday evening. I had the seafood enchiladas and had maybe one of the best tasting scallops I've ever had. Though to be fair I haven't had a ton of scallops

Pappasito’s has a special place in my heart now. I had THE BEST service and experience there with my coworkers. Our server Anthony and Manager Bryce were the highlight of our time there. We honestly stayed longer to just mess with them longer, and even with a busy restaurant they still found the time to make our day and share some laughs with our table. I didn’t feel like a customer, I felt like family. Will definitely be back!! *PS. The New Zealand lamb chops are AMAZING!!!*

I would definitely go back. Food: I ordered the Reynosa and braised beef enchilada. They were amazing and it is actually a lot of food. So you are definitely getting what you pay for. Service: waited a while for refills on drinks but that was the only thing. Other than that staff was friendly. Atmosphere: it was chill. People were coming in from the anime convention and after the Astros game so it was getting busy.

A true hidden treasure in Houston. Beautiful log cabin restaurant with a very nice patio area. The scenery is beautiful and makes you feel like you’re in another state. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The meat dishes are very tender, soft, and smoky. However there are some dishes that I don’t think are worth the price, but overall it is a nice restaurant to splurge on and enjoy a different scenery and space.

Valet parking. Top tier service. Comfortable atmosphere. Delicious fare: nice presentation & portion size. The food was the star. The game was cooked to perfection, so tender. The fish was well seasoned & the sauce & spinach were very good. Our least favorite bite of the night with the cheddar grits that came with the quail appetizer & the wild game entrée. A bit more seasoning would have helped. The highlight of the meal was the dessert. Hands down, the best dessert I've ever had. The atmosphere was elevated but not stuffy. We had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary. The card from the staff was a sweet touch. Highly recommend. Want to start by saying Thomas is an incredible server! He definitely made our experience more enjoyable! We went for the end of Houston restaurant week and they had a really great three course meal deal for $55. As a vegetarian, I don’t necessarily think my meal was worth the $55, but I do appreciate them having a vegetarian option on the menu so I can still go to the places my friends want to try. However, I think this was an incredible deal for those having the meat options on the menu. My one friend got the Bison, and the other had the Quail and Venison. The starter salads were phenomenal, and don’t even get me started on dessert. Firstly I really expected smaller portion since it was a deal but no, full sized desserts. Amazing. The peach panna cotta was so light and fresh, the bread pudding was soooo warm and soft, and the chocolate mousse perfectly rich. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant, especially for a nice date night or getting dressed up with the girls.

Rustic country vibe. Beautiful scenery with simple decor. Great for casual dinner with a fancy flare. Food was great. Mashed potatoes had too much goat cheese but still ok. Our waiter was talkative but extremely personable and kind. Can't remember his name but his wife loves horses. I'll definitely be back.

Decent food with interesting atmosphere & decor. Nice party rooms that can hold 13 people. Scalloped potatoes were my favorite & the asparagus. The fish and meats were good, but a bit too salty for me. I’d like a bit more sprinkles or fresh greens on the plate to cut down on saltiness.

They have complementary valet parking so even if you don’t find a spot it’s easy enough. I went for Sunday brunch and it was wonderful. I had the steak and eggs and finished everything on my plate. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. They have two dollar mimosas for those of you that are interested on Sundays until 3.

This unique restaurant has it all - easy valet parking, friendly hostess, fantastic food and fabulous server (Izzy was amazing). Went with a small group so we got to try the duck gumbo, wild game mixed grill, antelope loin, pan seared redfish and lodge rolls. Everything was delicious, wasn’t gamey, and was fun to taste new things. Izzy checked on us and made sure we had drinks, answered all our questions, and he turned the dinner into an experience. I can’t wait to go back and try more things!

It was my first time visiting, and I went with a group of friends who had reserved a table after a close friend of mine got baptized. I ordered the fajita special, and when I asked to switch something in my order, they had no problem fixing it right away. The staff made sure I was taken care of, and the service and atmosphere were excellent. Overall, the food was great and the experience even better!

The food was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and served with care. You can tell the staff takes pride in both the service and the kitchen. As a first-time visitor, I felt welcomed and appreciated, and that’s not something you find everywhere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great Tex-Mex and even better hospitality. Love it here. The service has always been top tier and the food does not disappoint. The sweet and spicy ribs are a MUST TRY! The space is a little small for the amount of tables they’ve put inside but, I still keep coming back, lol; Also the drinks are strong and reasonably priced. They also have a great lunch menu. It’s always busy so, just try them anytime and I’m sure you won’t regret it!

Visited on a business trip. It was near my hotel. The steak sausage and shrimp fajitas were delicious! The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. The meal was presented beautifully. My server was attentive.

It was great as usual. I was concerned for a while about the small food portions that was being brought to the table fir a high price tag, but pappasitos aren't again being on top of their game, by providing substantial portions of food for the price. Great job.

The service was wonderful. The atmosphere was very nice. The salsa was delicious. The food presentation was nice but I was not impressed with my shrimp quesadilla. I should have been able to add my toppings but the cheese was so thick I couldn't. I hope next time I visit I can try something new.
