Seafood restaurant
Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen offers a variety of Cajun-style seafood, pastas, and comfort food in a cozy dark wood setting with a full bar. Visitors rave about the delicious food, including favorites like the Greek salad, oysters, chicken tender basket, mozzarella cheese bites with spicy marinara sauce, and more. The drinks are also highly praised for their quality. While the prices may be on the higher side, many find that the top-notch food justifies it.
First time hitting up a Pappadeaux spot and it was an amazing experience. I had the Salmon Alexander with shrimp scallops and crawfish and it was delicious. The Dirty rice was absolutely tasty. Service was top tier and they really took care of us.

Went to Pappadeaux’s (near NRG) on Sunday 9/21/25. Service was just okay, but I think our server may have been fairly new. However, I’ve been getting the same dish for years. Therefore, I know the amount you’re supposed to get as well as the quality. Mississippi Catfish Opelousas $40.95 This day, I don’t know what happened….had this huge white plate and barely 3/4 had food on it. The other fourth of the plate houses a wedge of lemon. Sometimes a manager will walk the floor asking how everything was, but not this day. After inquiring that week, I found out the manger that day was Taylor Pringle, I believe. In all honesty, I wasn’t in the mood to complain that day because it was busy and I wasn’t looking for a scene. But quality management missed the mark that day for sure. And when more than one person at the table orders the same dish, they should come out looking the same. It was unacceptable…..do better.

Jomauri was an excellent waiter. He was very professional, polite and explain the menu to me. I ask him about a drink option and he explained he would ask the bartender because of his age he doesn’t drink. He was on point with everything. He’s an excellent host. The food was delicious. The manager even came to the table and ask was everything good. Today is July 24, 20025 at 6:41 pm. I enjoyed myself. Jomauri is a keeper.

We celebrated a close family friend’s graduation from nursing school at Pappadeaux, and everything about the evening was outstanding. The restaurant had a vibrant, upbeat atmosphere that made it feel perfect for a special occasion. Our group ordered a variety of dishes—from seafood gumbo and crawfish étouffée to fried alligator, lobster, and grilled salmon—and every single bite was delicious. The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot on. You can tell everything is made with care and fresh ingredients. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure our group had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. From drinks to dessert, the entire experience felt smooth, celebratory, and memorable. Highly recommend Pappadeaux for both casual dining and meaningful celebrations. We’ll definitely be back!

As always Pappadeaux did not miss a single beat. The food and drinks were superb per the norm but I must say today the service provided by Kobe our waiter made the meal and experience overall top tier. Attention to detail, asked if we had allergies or dietary restrictions, and he made recommendations which was greatly appreciated. Will be back to see him again very soon!!

Good service. We had a group but the waiter messed up on one order. This could have been handled quickly but he kept going back and forth with the patron so the manager had to intervene. In spite of this issue, we had a great time.

Reservations were made for 3PM Sunday November 2, 2025.. My daughter and I are not strangers to Pappadeaux’s although we decided to dine in the dining room area instead of the bar this time…Upon arrival we noticed that the restaurant was packed.., Pappadeaux’s had plenty of auxiliary parking in the back of the restaurant.., My daughter and I were greeted with kindness and smiles by the Hostesses and immediately escorted to our table.. It took a long while for the food server to come to our table to introduce herself.. When I opened my menu, I was both shocked and grossed out 😱.. The menu was nasty, apparently Pappadeaux does not wipe and sanitize the menus, My menu had food smashed on the pages.. UNEXCEPTIONAL..We ordered cocktails and our drinks were strong and delicious.. Warm bread and butter was delivered to our table with butter.. The consensus for the bread is 👎🏽.. it’s awful bread and very surprising it turns into a plate full of crumbs.. by far the worst bread of any 3-4 star restaurant We decided on the Grilled Oysters for appetizers and we both ordered the Mississippi Catfish with shrimp, oysters and crab meat.. My daughter substituted broccoli for the Creole rice and I substituted a loaded baked potato for the creole rice .. Our meal was delicious and served hot.. I ordered 2 slices of key lime pie to go and as always it didn’t disappoint.. It took a long time for us to get take out containers for our food and our waitress disappeared and we had to ask another waitress for bags.. Over all it was okay and my daughter and I left feeling satisfied with our tummy’s full..

So I waited for approximately 40 minutes before I begin to start this review, writing it. Yes, I am in the restaurant as I am writing this review. On first arriving, I was immediately set in the back of the restaurant by the kitchen fine. No one came to say hi asked for my order or provide the bread and butter as customary. It wasn’t until I asked someone walking by. Could I place my order please until I was able to get some water. At this point 15 minutes had already passed. My server Milton popped up and was like hey what can I get you? And then proceeded to suggest that if I wanted to switch waiters, I could request that through him and he’d let management know as if he did not want to be assigned the table. I’m not sure. I just wanted to order. At the time of this review, at 50 mins of being in this fine establishment I had only gotten my blood orange mule (delicious) and my roasted oysters; also delicious! Pleasant surprise I’m assuming one of the managers walked up to my table, inquired about my wait for service and then offered to comp the oysters appetizer. That soften the blow of me being here for now an hour, and I’m still hungry as heck. Ultimately my entrée ended up coming out at the hour mark of being here. Freaking delicious! I ordered the Alexander and my salmon was cooked perfectly medium. The scallops, shrimp and crawfish tails were also cooked well. Overall, the service was iffy on arrival and wait time ridiculous.. but I promise you when I did receive my food. It was well worth the wait. It was absolutely delicious and filling, too much to eat in one setting. Three stars because the slow service only ! The floor manager and Milton ended up being very kind & apologetic for the service. Maybe it was just a lot going on..

Adair Kitchen is a spacious cafe that offers a modern twist on New American comfort food. The menu features dishes like veggie quinoa burger, prosciutto breakfast pita, omelets, French toast, and breakfast tacos. The interior is charming with chalkboard menus and unique decor. There are outdoor tables as well as wooden pews inside for a cozy indoor picnic feel.
I am always so pleased with my experience here!! Perfect coffees, amazing salads, and if you haven’t had the almond croissant yet, run by and grab one!!

I’m always looking for healthier, wholesome, and budget friendly options when it comes to dining out. Adair offers that with their healthy and comfort food style menu. The staff were friendly and service was quick. The atmosphere felt welcoming. The food was good, but nothing really noteworthy for me to want to brag about.

This place is fantastic if you're looking for a lunch spot with friends! They offer high-quality, healthy choices at great prices. I had an awesome time enjoying lunch with my girlfriend here. The selection of non-alcoholic beverages is impressive, with plenty of options for both hot and cold teas. They also have a variety of fresh, nutritious juices made on-site, which are perfect for supporting digestion. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone in the Galleria area!

Great place to come for brunch. Been here a couple times and the food has been consistently good. It’s a cute little place to relax and drink a cup of coffee.

I finally got the chance to come here! Glad I did. The place is beautiful and spacious with plenty of seating inside and outside. You order at the front and they are very attentive and nice. The food came out fairly quickly and everything was as it should be. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and flavorful. I am definitely coming back to try other things!

Food was okay first time trying it, I ordered a salad and it was just okay. I didn’t find a wow factor for the salad. I will come again and order something different I like the area it is in a busy parking lot due to the grocery store right next door.

I do not leave reviews, being a restaurant GM wife and owning a family restaurant since 1944 and another since 1966. These individuals deserve this! Hannah, Raul and Enrique. I come in every weekend and they treat me like family. The quality of service, the quality of food service, the quality of their character is beyond. Even in the busiest times of the restaurant, the patience, team work and camaraderie with one another is lovely to watch. The level they treat the patrons is exceedingly 5 star!

Food was pretty good, very fresh! Got the pesto pita which tasted healthy but was mostly lettuce and tomato, my husbands sweet potato fries were tasty. Everyone else liked their dish. The cashier we met with had a bit of an attitude but must’ve been a busy day. I’d come again.

Catering food and drink supplier
Local Foods is a popular cafeteria-style spot known for its gourmet sandwiches and salads made with locally sourced ingredients. The menu features items like Duck Confit, House Smoked Salmon, Banh Mi, Spring Harvest Salad, and Asian Chicken Salad.
My first time here on 3/30/25 2:54pm. Cute atmosphere, Alive and a trail of 🍷 bottles as you enter🥰. They have a nice selection of non alcoholic and local brews too, cocktails on the go in the cooler for grabs, are only 22.00. They have grabible cold wine bottles and Moscato for your day drinking pleasure, " Got to love that". Great lighting, good looking staff, because of the lighting you can read the amazing menu offerings here "LOL" I'm 53 so...good lighting is helpful. It's also a very clean and organized operation from what I can see, I like the semi open kitchen concept at this location for presentation accountability. The only thing I had a issue with was how uncomfortable the booth I was sitting was. Hard seating cushion and a high back cushion that feels out of place for a average hight guy I am (5'11") with the coffees and fresh lemonades and teas. To the GF, V, N menu items this place is a high 10. Just like the sign says as you leave the Westiemer street side above the door, "GOOD VIBES ONLY" And you leave your mess at the table the amazing staff will clean up after you. So please tip these guys they work hard to give you the environment you enjoy so much on a daily. I am a real customer out at lunch on break from my own local restaurant and will be back soon. I recommend the HARVEST SALAD and your choice of protein... Rant over ,.......

I love the food here! Last time I dined at Local Foods, I ordered the Chimichurri Steak Torta, and just look at how thick she is! Their sandwiches come with two sides, and I went with the Basil Strawberries and the Tuscan Kale, both were super fresh and flavorful. One thing I always appreciate is their freshly made lemonade. This time I tried the cucumber lemonade, and I absolutely loved it! Edited to add a photo of the crunchy chicken sandwich I had on another visit. It was really good as well!

Local Foods really impressed me. The place has a clean, chill vibe — perfect spot to grab a good meal and relax. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience easy. I had the crunchy chicken sandwich and it was legit one of the best I’ve had. Super crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Service was top notch. Everything came out quick and smooth without feeling rushed. If you’re in Houston and want a solid meal in a laid-back spot, this place is a winner. I’ll definitely be back.

I had a great experience at this brunch spot, which offers a variety of tasty sandwiches. I went for the steak sandwich option which was nice. Although I didn’t enjoy the cashew queso, the staff handled my feedback professionally and quickly let me pick a different item, which I really appreciated. Overall, it’s a solid place with great service; I’d happily return if I’m in the area, though I wouldn’t go out of my way just for it.

The food was absolutely delightful! I ordered the Summer Salmon Entrée, and it did not disappoint. The salmon was cooked to perfection just the way I like it, medium rare and the vegetables were perfectly seasoned. But the real surprise? The potatoes. Wow. I’m not usually a potato lover, but these were incredible! The service made the experience even better. The manager, Josh, personally came over to check on our meal, and we shared just how much we enjoyed everything. The menu also has plenty of vegan options, which was a win for my daughter. She ordered the Nashville Not-So-Hot Tofu Sandwich, and I had to sneak a bite and it was delicious too! We’ll definitely be back. Great vibes, fresh ingredients, and flavors that truly shine. 🌱
Montina A — Google review
Very Busy when I arrived. The food came out at a decent time. Parking was hard. I ordered the chili salad, and the salad was good. The chili is just ok. The cucumber lemonade was delicious.
Sasha S — Google review
Reddit suggested this place since I was looking for a vegetarian sandwich and I gotta say I was overall not disappointed. They have a ton of options and everything is very yummy with good serving size too. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered something called "crunchy" chicken sandwich thinking it would be fried chicken but it was not (hence why the word crunchy was in quotes) and I was disappointed although arguably that's completely my fault. Anyways I'd def come back and order other stuff!

Italian restaurant
Trattoria Sofia offers an informal Italian dining experience in a charming country-style setting with wooden ceilings, brick walls, and lush plants. This dark and romantic eatery is perfect for pasta and wine lovers, featuring a covered terrace with pergolas, botanicals, and an olive tree at its center. The menu includes salumis, woodfired pizzas, seafood dishes, Cacio e Pepe pasta, and a gorgonzola-topped Ribeye.
A great date night location! We went on a Wednesday night and there wasn’t a huge crowd and it was a very comfortable atmosphere! Will definitely go again!
John B — Google review
Food was one of the best Italian cuisines outside of New York/New Jersey and Italy, the restaurants interior was designed to mimic a more fancier style of food. Wait service was great and our meals came out in a timely manner with prices that are fair to the standard they appear to be representing. The only thing that is weird is that they require paying a valet ($20+ and tip) to park in a parking lot that is clearly easy to self-park in. While it’s understandable with the standard they wish to uphold, it seems unnecessary because when we were there the parking lot was almost empty, yet we had to search for parallel parking to avoid the valet cost. Besides being wary of valet charges; the food was wonderful and this restaurant is one to try in Houston!

We tried this spot recently and had a mixed experience. My friend ordered the whipped ricotta appetizer, which was tasty but definitely needed more bread—it felt a little skimpy. I had the Caesar salad, but it was lacking in flavor. The pasta dishes we tried were both good, though they could’ve been served hotter and came out a bit slow. Honestly, the timing was an issue across the whole meal—every course took longer than expected. Dessert (the Italian version of flan) was delicious and a nice way to end the meal. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive, but overall the pacing of the food took away from the experience.

I went for dinner with a friend for the HRW menu. Honestly the food was really disappointing, and service was meh. Overall experience was minus 10 star! I had a 7pm reservation for 2 and we greeted the hostess at 7:02, we didn't get seated until at least 10 mins later. The restaurant was extremely noisy and it was hard to hold a conversation with my friend across the table. After we sat down, I accidentally broke the glasses and they were really nice about it, cleaned everything off and didn't give me a hard time, which turned out to be the only positive thing that night. Both our appetizers and main course were okay at best, and my dessert (Panna cotta) tastes like it was watered down, I've had many Panna cotta before from similar level restaurants, as it's my favorite, this one has got to be ranked as one of the worst ones. The bill came, and there was a 3% restaurant operation fee, it's not much in the grand scheme of things, but what's that? Why don't you charge me 1% more for your rent, and 2%more for your utility as well??? We left the restaurant only to find out my car was towed, turned out I parked on the wrong side of the street, the sign was there, but it could be larger and more clear on from where to where it applies to. The valet parking guy knows exactly what happened and who to call, gave me to number to the policy precinct. I don't know what to make of this, are they working with each other ??? I don't know ........ The food and the service and the experience are definitely not worth the dinner bill and the $300 tow fee. For comparison, went to Maison Pucha's HRW dinner a week before and that was the best food I've had in a while, and the atmosphere is another level up, and there is no 3% restaurant operations nonsense fee. Definitely go spend your money there!

We had an amazing experience here. Ordered the steak, pasta, and chicken parmagiana. Service was great. The steak came out differently than our request and they took it back and sent us another delicious steak. They made things right which is always appreciated. You must try the tiramisu. They make it fresh at the restaurant and it's a delicious way to end off the meal. We would definitely come back for more pasta and pizza. It's very fresh and the flavors are delicious. The restaurant also had a beautiful atmosphere and design. I gave a 4 star because the steak was a bit overpriced for the quality. Pizza and pasta were amazing!

Trattoria Sofia has been on my bucket list for a while. I have lived in the greater heights for about 4 years and this restaurant has always caught my eye but I didn't venture in until tonight. I try to give places the benefit of the doubt in most cases and don't judge based on one dish. Tonight I can't say I enjoyed much of anything. The Burrata was definitely a miss and needed more then arugula and balsamic to go with it. The carpatchio was alright but nothing that I would want to order again. It was accompanied again by arugula. It also came with mushrooms and a few very thinly sliced pieces of bread. The bread was actually good but I needed more. I ordered a jasmine fizz. No jasmine flavor? You can't have Jasmine as the main name of a drink without having any Jasmine in the cocktail. This did not make sense to me. We also ordered the Casio e Pepe and fungi pizza. The pasta was a little too El dente basically raw and lacked any Parmesan flavor. Not sure what they were going for but definitely not good. The fungi pizza had no flavor. The bread was bland and a little burnt. Maybe dessert could redeem trattoria Sofia for it's lackluster starters and mains. We ordered the olive oil cake which was recommended by the waiter. Umm... No flavor and burnt? Sorry but the service was painstakingly slow as well. I will let that go because it was a Wednesday night and they were probably short staffed. I usually don't rate restaurants this low but today was definitely a miss. All three of us said we would have preferred ordering Zalat pizza and staying home. Maybe it was an off day for this establishment but I cannot see myself giving it another chance.

Visited with a group of friends to celebrate our final high school homecoming night and left extremely disappointed. We heard that this place had an amazing atmosphere and vibe so we decided to come here despite having other options. We walk into the establishment and are greeted by the hosts where we proceed to tell them about our reservation at 8:30 pm that we had made nearly a month ago and had already verbally confirmed with them a couple weeks later. Despite this reservation, we had to wait around for 20+ minutes before we went back up to ask about our table. The hosts proceeded to ask us very irrelevant questions such as “Are you guys here to just drink and take photos or actually eat dinner?” We wouldn’t have made a dinner reservation if we weren’t going to eat, and despite answering their questions they still didn’t have anything to say about our table situation. After that we had to wait around for another 7-8 ish minutes until they moved our group (8 ppl) to a table for 6 people. Although I understand how busy they were due to the popularity of this restaurant as well as it being a Saturday evening, I don’t think this excuses not having a table for a reservation made a month prior in less than a couple minutes. The hosts could’ve also been much more respectful when talking to us. Maybe it was because of our age, but that doesn’t change anything. Our server was much better than the hosts thankfully. On the other hand the food wasn’t really on par with the prices. The calamari was wonderful (I highly recommend) but everything else was just okay. For the prices, the portion sizes and taste of everything was really just “fine”. Overall the atmosphere and decoration of the establishment is very nice but the service is just so so so much lower that you can’t even be distracted by the vibe and lighting of the place. Will definitely be trying out a different place next time.

Outside room was a little hot to start the night. Staff could inform people than one room is significantly warmer than the other. Staff was pleasant, bar was a little slow at first but recovered. I ordered the Seabass. I would NOT recommend. Dry, small portion, tasteless. Despite $48 price tag, not worth it. The presentation was sub par as well. Looked like they had one of the high school students prepare it. Due to the food quality,I would not recommend.

Nestled on 19th Street, Moon Rabbit is a delightful new addition to the Heights dining scene, offering a unique blend of traditional Vietnamese dishes infused with Southern flavors. Co-chefs Tam Nguyen and Rudy Vasquez have crafted an enticing menu that features standout items like the coconut cream-kissed banh xeo tostada topped with shrimp and pork belly, as well as miso-marinated claypot fish.
Absolutely incredible dining experience at Moon Rabbit! We came in for dinner and were blown away by the flavor, presentation, and creativity of every dish. The Roasted Oysters were rich, savory, and topped with crispy bits that added the perfect crunch. The Bone Marrow dish was beautifully plated with toasted baguette slices, creamy aioli, and a pop of fish roe—decadent and delicious. And the highlight for me: the Pho Tao Chinh. Deep, rich broth with tender noodles, fresh herbs, and just the right kick of spice—total comfort in a bowl. The vibe is modern yet cozy, and the staff was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. A unique take on Vietnamese fusion that truly stands out in Houston’s food scene. Highly recommend if you’re in The Heights and want something memorable. Can’t wait to come back!

Pro-tip - make reservations - otherwise, you might have to sit outside (which I witnessed from all tables - the staff isn’t super attentive). We sat waterless before and after meal. We had three appetizers and main entree before we received our alcoholic beverages - which were awful. However, the food was nice. Salt and papered squid was perfect. Buttery noodles with egg on top, spring rolls and cucumber salad were all enjoyable. The atmosphere was pleasant. However, our mates at the next table brought their dog and foul mouthed daughter - who was drinking and quite loud with her obscenities. I don’t think we’ll be back, but it’s now understandable why there were so many to go orders. Front of house was a dumpster fire. Perhaps they were concerned we would run off without paying the bill. However, the more wait staff hovers waiting for payment - the lower the tip goes. We normally start out at 20-25%. This one got 15%.

Mary Anne our server really recommended Steak Night on Tuesday, and I chose New York Strip over Ribeye, I lived it so much. Chose mushrooms and Vietnamese fried rice, just delicious. The star of the show was the Urbe ice cream a seasonal flavor, that was a must to get. So satisfying. My friends had Vietnamese spring rolls, bowls and pho. Will definitely return!

The name of the restaurant is so cute that my kid couldn’t wait to try it as soon as we heard about it! My kid was so excited, and the experience did not disappoint. The interior design is stylish and welcoming, creating a cozy dining atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes with both traditional and creative twists, each one full of surprises. The service is also excellent—friendly and attentive, which made the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommended, and we look forward to visiting again!🐰❤️

This is a very good Vietnamese Restaurant. There is a good selection of very tasty dishes which are well prepared and served in ample portions. The service was friendly but a tiny bit slow, however, my visit was on Father’s Day and the restaurant was full of patrons which can explain the minor delays that I encountered. It is a cozy atmosphere and tables are well spaced such that each group has a degree of privacy and is not in range to overhear or be bothered by other conversations. We had the fried pork egg rolls as an appetizer, the pork chop and egg, and the lemongrass pork. Our favorite was the egg rolls. They were crispy, hot, stuffed with pork and very flavorful. The two entrees were a wonderful melange of well cooked meats, fresh vegetables, rice, and egg. They were tasty but lacking of spice. This was easily remedied by mixing in the homemade chili paste that was provided. My one big disappointment is that I wanted to try the morning glory. This has become my favorite vegetable if it is prepared properly. Unfortunately, the restaurant had run out of morning glory and I could not sample it on this visit. My dining companion and I do plan to return soon to try out the restaurant’s pho. They have several versions of pho available, all priced around $12. Based on what we tasted on our first trip here, we have high expectations that the pho will be very good and more than enough to satisfy our appetites.

We stopped in for a bite after going to Thorn and Moon and let me tell you this place was nicer than I thought. I got the lemon chicken vermicelli and my god I think it the best one I've ever had, my daughter got the steak and rice bowl which she really enjoyed as well and my best friend got the Pho combo with brisket and flank she loved it. We started off with the tostada appetizer and original spring rolls and wow so much flavor! The young man who attended us was also super attentive and super kind. He really knew his stuff about the food giving us great recommendations and explaining the ingredients and flavor profile as well as telling us about their specials on certain nights. All the staff was super nice. I got a non alcoholic drink I believe it wad the Yuzu cute or something like thay and the elixir of immortality. Both pretty delicious. Definitely coming back! Everything was fairly priced for the quality. I recommend if you want some elevated creative Vietnamese food.

We had the honey lime chicken , lemongrass beef and for dessert we got the bread pudding. It was all delicious. Originally came in wanting to try their chicken pho but sadly they ran out. However, our server Kate went above and beyond. She apologized for the inconvenience and suggested food recommendations based off what she thought we would like. I didn’t expect to like the food as much as I did because it wasn’t what we had originally wanted. Pleasantly surprised and the bread pudding was a nice way to end lunch. Definitely recommend and hopefully next time I’ll get a chance to try their pho.

Leaf & Grain offers a refreshing take on salads and bowls, focusing on nutritious ingredients without compromising on flavor. The restaurant prides itself on providing great portions of healthy food, with the option to make substitutions as needed. Customers appreciate the attentive service and helpful staff, particularly mentioning David's excellent recommendations and accommodating nature. The ambiance is described as relaxed and family-friendly, with real plants adding to the rustic atmosphere.
Fresh salads and really good smoothies. We tried the green smoothie and mango smoothie. Also ordered the heritage BLT sandwich, which husband enjoyed. I ordered a salad and they added ingredients of my choice. Very good and will return before we leave Houston this trip.

Really liked their fresh juices and bowls. Had the sesame chicken crunch and veggie boost with chicken breast and both tasted great. You can make customized bowls and substitutions with no problem at all. Also had the leaf and green juice which was fresh and had anti inflammatory properties. Nothing to complain about this place at all, just didn’t give a 5 star because it’s not in the top top of my list for healthy + deliciousness. But will recommend and will come back to try their other items!
Kavitha K — Google review
One of my wife's favorite fast casual restaurants in the area for years. However, lately it seems that even though she's been ordering the same thing for years, her order is screwed up at least 50% of the time now. I tried it and the food is fresh and good but it's just not worth the money given the mixups that happen with many orders. Their chicken protein bowl I got today had 1 and 3/4 oz of chicken. It seems like each time I've ordered this I get less and less. Third time's the last, not going back, too many other good options out there.
Richard M — Google review
I tried this place for the first time and ordered to-go. Unfortunately, my grain bowl was mostly kale with very little else—just a few apple slices and maybe a tablespoon of chicken. The portion size was also quite small. For the price, I’d recommend Sweetgreen or Flower Child instead. Disappointed overall. Update: I returned after leaving this review to express my concerns. They used the same bowl I showed them, and they added more "grains." However, when I inquired about the other fillings, they had the nerve to say those were extra. They eventually gave me the extras, but that’s not the point. Just market it as a salad instead of a grain bowl!

We eat here at least once a week. I appreciate how detail-oriented the staff is about cleanliness and food safety. The food quality is top notch! They chop veggies in house make everything from scratch. You can taste the freshness and care in your food. Sometimes there’s a wait, but I don’t mind because the staff is friendly and the food is awesome. Leaf and Grain has been a great addition to the neighborhood!
Linda Y — Google review
I came to this place for the 1st time. I tried their veggie bowl and I substituted almonds for the golden raisins. It is very tasty but just know the Kale is quite tough so it's quite the jaw workout. And know that if you order a salad with regular lettuce you will get a majority of stems.
Raven — Google review
David was great in suggestion and serving my food. They have a great selection of healthy choices! I could make substitutions with no problem. Their Masseman is fresh and tasty. The cookie was phenomenal. They have nice music and seating with real plants that give it a more rural feel. It is so nice for the family to relax here! The whole team worked nicely. I would like to come back with friends. Enjoy!

The Original Ninfa's on Navigation is a legendary Tex-Mex restaurant in Houston, offering a casual dining experience with covered outdoor seating. The menu features delicious fajitas, tacos, and enchiladas, along with classic Ninfaritas and margaritas with unique twists. You can also enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the East End Esplanade across the street during farmers markets.
Another fantástico meal at the Houston landmark was had. Kudos to Melisaa, our server. She ensured our party was happy while tending to other larger tables. The whole experience from entrance to exit was true hospitality. My discerning Chicago, Mexican friend (read hard to satisfy) enjoyed his meal and appetizers so much that he actually complemented it and all involved. The kids loved their meals. Only drawback is, it is loud, especially on weekends. Valet is easy, free and they work for tips. Definitely recommend for locals and visitors alike.

Delicious Mexican food, fresh and flavorful-- we had enchiladas (chicken mole and seafood), rice, and charro beans, all excellent. I wish the salsa was spicier, but that's a personal preference-- the flavor was very good. We were too full for dessert, so I guess we'll have to go back! The portions were generous, but the price point is a little on the high side for us. That's not a complaint, really, more of a heads up. Service was fabulous. All in all, a wonderful meal!
Jennifer W — Google review
Highly recommend restaurant and the staff Jennifer was a really warm and nice host that not only recommend us good food but also the historic story of the restaurant. We order the Del Mar Enchiladas and Fajitas of beef and chicken. Del Mar had a rich flavor of Shrimp, crab and the sauce was really great - though little pricy. Fajita was a classic one and recommend the fried roasted bean with cheese and the green rice - with a great texture! We only have two people and the amount are big for us😆 but the dinner experience was really great!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! When we entered the front staffed just starred, did not even say hello. My Dr.Pepper was extremely flat it tasted like water. I had to ask the server to come over several times for things I needed. He only checked up on me 2 times. No physical kids menu, they just tell you and they don’t tell the price. The kids chicken tenders is 2 pieces of chicken and 3 potato wedges. My son did not like the flavor of the chicken and he is not a picky eater. My Texas combo was not good. The steak, rice and taco were lacking flavor. The taco was greasy. The enchilada was the only thing I enjoyed. For my family of 5 I ended up paying $106. I spend less at Olive Garden. The price is not worth the food. Do Not Go Here!

This place is a Houston institution known for the home of fajitas. I have been here a few times of the years. It seems to fall in quality each time. I had a solo mid week lunch. This place always has a good size crowd. It’s very lively and feels like a great TexMex spot. I was seated immediately and the waiter came quickly to take my drink order and provide chips and salsa. I ordered the skirt steak fajitas. It would be the last time I saw my waiter until I was as finished. The chips are solid. The salsas are ok. The green doesn’t have much flavor. Red was a little better but no heat. Fajitas came out with all the fixings plus beans and rices. The meat was slightly overcooked for my taste but still doable. The flavor was the real problem. It simply lacked seasoning. The tortillas were very good when they were warm. Once they cooled down they became very rigid and my last one broke apart while I was as finishing my fajitas. The kicker is the fajitas are average but they cost $45. That’s not going to cut it. Sadly, I won’t be making anymore stops at Ninfa’s. Luckily, Houston is full of great other options.

I booked a table at The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation while I was in Buenos Aires, as I was only staying in Houston for one night. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. However, I found the prices to be a bit high for the overall experience.

I loved the atmosphere, very calm great for a family outing or Saturday out with friends. I ordered the Fajita Mix for a group of 4 , it had Chicharrones, Fajita, Shrimp and Sausage, it came with 2 sides or Rice and 2 sides or Beans. Food 8/10 the ribs were a bit chewy and the Guac had no flavor otherwise everything else was good
Angie — Google review
Our service asked how we wanted the beef fajitas and I told him to make it however the chef recommends. And it was perfect! Beef fajitas had a lot of flavor and it was tender. The chicken fajitas were delicious as well. Chips and queso tasted good too. Frozen Margaritas and Margaritas on the rocks were good. Not sour tasting at all.

It's known for its hearty portions of classic Mediterranean dishes served in a casual setting that appeals to both adults and kids. The restaurant offers a partnership discount with the Children's Museum of Houston.
It had been years since I visited. A friend of mine was not sure if she had been there. The employees are very friendly and courteous. I was ready to taste the wonderful food. She on the other hand has a sweet tooth. We talked for hours without interruption. We felt at ease enjoying our snack. The baklava cheese cake is like people say " It's to die for". Her first time tasting the baklava, I loved it. It's one of my reasons for choosing to dine there. We will definitely be coming back in order to try other delicacies.

The portions are generous. Every person we encountered was so friendly. Free easy parking and clean bathroom. I will definitely return!!!!! I have two picky items that I must mention. 1) kitchen staff should NOT go into the bathroom With apron on -ewwww🤮 2) the tzatziki sauce was bland- but the garlic aioli made up for it

Lupe Tortilla is a Tex-Mex chain that's popular for its homemade tortillas and wide range of margaritas. The restaurant has a cozy and homey atmosphere, although seating can be tight inside. Despite this, the staff are friendly and accommodating.
Lupe Tortilla delivers a consistently satisfying dining experience that highlights classic Mexican flavors with precision and care. The guacamole stands out with its fresh, vibrant taste, perfectly balanced and made to order. Their beans complement the meal beautifully, rich and flavorful without being overpowering. The mixed fajitas are a true highlight—cooked to perfection with tender, well-seasoned meats and a delightful medley of peppers and onions. Additionally, the queso is excellent, creamy and flavorful, making it a perfect starter or accompaniment. Overall, Lupe Tortilla offers a well-rounded menu that showcases authentic Tex-Mex cuisine at its best.

Stopped for lunch on a Saturday and had a good experience overall. The fajita tacos were a highlight—juicy, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. I also ordered the Lupe Chicken, which had a nice flavor, though the chicken breast was a bit tough. The salsa added a nice kick, and the corn tortillas were fantastic. The flour tortillas are cooked with lard, so keep that in mind if you avoid pork. Service was fine on the patio. Overall, it was a good meal, but nothing particularly memorable.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants, I've never had a bad experience at this location for food. It can get noisy at times when you are in the smaller rooms, but never loud enough to where you cant talk to each other. We've had a couple of visits where the server took a while to get to us but it has happened only twice in the many visits we've had.

I love the place. I have been there for 10 years. The best fajitas i have ever had. Amazing food and great atmosphere. Years ago the manager got angry at me for walking in the building, that wasn’t so nice.

This Lupe Tortilla location was the original. It was a fabulous restaurant when it first opened years ago and continues to be fabulous. The food here knocks the socks off the Echo lane location. Well worth the 10 minute drive West on I10 to get the best.

This is my favorite lupe! The food is always delicious. Staff is helpful and patient. They have an area for kids to play. It is sandy and outside in the sun, so come with sunscreen. Wish the whole thing had shade cause my kids were burning but didn't want to stop playing. The atmosphere is fun and casual. It's an old house converted to restaurant. Love going every time. They also have Popsicles for cash only. Kids loved it. It's hard going out with kids that are restless and don't eat but they were kept busy enough for us to eat.

Took a date on a Saturday night and it was a very enjoyable experience. It was busy, we waited about 20 minutes but we were able to get a spot at the bar and get a drink and there was plenty of outside area so we just enjoyed the evening outside until the table was ready. Got a nice little spot along the wall, had nice lighting and a nice ambience for a date. The star of the show in the food department was the salsa and beans they served. The salsa was chunky and flavorable and the beans were outstanding. Had chicken fajitas and margaritas and everything was great. Service was a little slow, but it was busy, and our server was attentive and everything was on point. Would definitely recommend Lupe Tortillas and I will be back.

First time at this Chuy's and it was really nice. I don't know if it was time of day or what, but there was no wait time at all to get seated. One of the best places for Mexican food. I loved it. Service is really nice. The ambiance is good. We had something show in pictures I don't remember. We were really full by that dish. Chips were unlimited. Their salsa was too good. If I ever went to that place again that for that salsa only. That was really good. Overall experience is good.

Big plates of edible food. Some items are hit and miss as with most "Tex Mex" chains. Queso is a big fat no. Salsa and white chip dip are good. Taquito/Flautas are better than what you find in the frozen food section of the grocery store. Otherwise passable for quick dining. I would not go out of my way for this restaurant again, but in a pinch it is okay. Pricing is average for the quality. Definitely better places in the area.

This place is delicious! We got the Ahi tuna bowl which was freshly cut prior to lunch. We also got the Grass Fed burger with a side of pesto pasta. So, so good! This place is such a rare gem! I love the ambiance and the moody lighting. Perfect for a casual date night. We got the grass fed burger with the honey roasted carrots. I loved how they toasted the bun. The pesto lasagna was definitely the star of the show though. The establishment is renowned for its exquisite Vietnamese dishes, but it also boasts a refined cocktail program featuring a diverse selection of drinks, from tropical-themed mezcal concoctions to tamarind-infused scotch cocktails and lychee-flavored vodka creations.
Had a wonderful experience at Le Colonial Houston. I was a bit worried because several reviews lately did not give great reviews for the service but we had a wonderful time. We did have a 9 pm reservation on a Thursday so felt like that last hour, we were the only ones there so everyone seemed super attentive to us. First of all, we were there about an hour early and went up to the lounge and had some amazing cocktails by the bartender/mixologist who knew what she was doing. There was also a great lounge vocalist that were crooning jazzy tunes that added to the mood. Next, we went down to our table when it was ready and ordered a feast. The crispy red snapper (ca chien saigon), garlic noodles and the beet salad (goi cu cai do) was superb. The way southeast asian cuisine prep and cooks fish has been astounding me in the most pleasurable way lately and Le Colonial did not disappoint. It was $100 for the whole fish and was shared by the 5 of us. We also got the ginger glazed chicken claypot (ga xao gong) and 2 orders of garlic noodles that we polished. Also, the hanoi beef noodle (pho bo) soup and the spicy chicken soup (sup ca cai) as very enjoyable as well. Moreover, they had a decent wine list and definitely went through 2 bottles of some chenin blancs! It was a birthday so we enjoyed the coconut pineapple upside down cake and the vanilla creme brulee and we barely had room for dessert!

Went for a friend’s birthday and had a great experience. The staff was attentive and accommodating, especially for the two vegans in our group. While the drinks were a bit sweeter than my preference, they were still enjoyable. Prices are on the higher side, so keep that in mind. Don’t miss the upstairs bar—it’s a whole vibe at night!

Second visit to this gorgeous restaurant with delicious food and truly crafty cocktails. It was my birthday and we were looking for a more upbeat vibe so this time we chose to eat upstairs in the bar area. We scheduled early (6:30) thinking it wouldn't be too loud, unfortunately, we ended up being seated directly in front of the very talented piano player/singer and her speaker. While she had a lovely voice and chose great songs, it was pretty difficult to have a conversation amongst ourselves during her performance. Never-the-less, we had a great time and great food/drinks and we will definitely go back.

Ate here for lunch on a Sunday, restaurant itself was very beautiful and had a nice atmosphere. Service was nice at all. However, food-wise it was quite average. We tried the chicken dumplings, pho, and pork ribs, all were mediocre. Would not recommend coming here if looking for pho. Portions were smaller, but still comparable to the price. Overall nice dining experience, but there was nothing memorable or special.

The foods and service were amazing. The host wasnt welcoming when we came in tho, she didnt say thank you or goodbye even we did say to her when leaving. However, I still put 5 stars because the servers and the foods are just exceptional and simply amazing, very attentive and helpful servers. Overall, I will come back!!

Elegant, classy spot in the River Oaks District. This place has been around for decades - a French-Vietnamese culinary experience. The vibe is so well done - between the main dining hall and the upstairs lounge area and the wicker forward patio spaces. The food was all very yummy - loved the beef and the garlic noodle dishes the most.

I had a wonderful dinner with my family at this restaurant. The food was truly authentic Vietnamese – rich in flavor and tradition. What stood out to me was how thoughtfully the dishes were served in generous portions, perfect for sharing, just like how it’s done in Vietnam. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every detail showed that they truly care about the customer experience. Everything was simply perfect!

Restaurant
Paulie's is a laid-back Italian cafe and espresso bar owned by Paul Petronella, offering a variety of housemade pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, and Panini. The wine list is designed to be user-friendly and the staff is knowledgeable and ready to assist. In addition to the food menu, there are also sweet treats like cookies, brownies, bread pudding, and pie available for dessert.
Absolutely one of, if not the absolute best Italian restaurants in Houston. We stopped in on a Tuesday night after seeing great reviews online for Paulie's. Upon arrival, there is a private parking lot behind the restaurant that was easy and convenient to park in. When we walked inside the restaurant, we took note of the pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is counter-service style and very convenient to order and find a table. The menu is wonderful with plenty of selections without being overwhelming. We ordered vegetable soup, pesto pasta with chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, and Canestri and Broccoli (shells with oil/garlic/parmesean, and broccoli with chicken). We also ordered iced tea and ginger lemonade as well. The ginger lemonade and iced tea was very good, fresh, and not too sweet. The vegetable soup was rustic, homemade, and had an amazing broth. The soup was full of thick cut veggies (carrots, celery, potatoes, red peppers, corn, and green beans). This was one of the absolute best veggie soups I've ever had, and $7 for a large bowl is a great value. The spaghetti and meatballs was VERY good. The sauce is a homemade San Marzano tomato sauce. Very rich flavor without too much acidity. The meatballs were moist, tender, flavorful, and not overly spiced. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The pesto was extremely fresh and bright with very clean and light flavors and a delicious olive oil base. The kalamata olives were a very nice touch, and the grilled chicken was cooked to perfectly. Nice crispy pan seared outside and so moist and tender inside. Again, the pasta was cooked perfectly. The Canestri and Brocccoli (shells with olive oil/parmesean/garlic with broccoli and chicken) was absolutely out of this world. One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had in my life. Dripping with flavor without being too heavy. Again, the pasta and chicken were both cooked perfectly. The meals came with garlic bread, which was very nice. Not overwhelming with garlic and cooked perfectly. Such a nice compliment to the meals. We finished up with a mocha latte and some of their homemade Easter shortbread cookies. Excellent latte, with beautiful flavor and not too sweet. The shortbread Easter cookies were absolutely incredible. Mindblowingly good how buttery and tasty these are. The price for dinner 3 people without alcohol was around $77 and another $12 for the coffee and cookies (all not counting tip). Overall, this is truly a hidden gem of Houston. If you want REALLY good Italian food at a VERY good price, and in the greater Houston area, this is the #1 place to go, period.

Good pasta here. Sizeable portions even for the small size. Great prices for simple pasta done right. Hard to complain. We got the following, with asterisks to indicate what we’d get again: - Rigatoni Bolognese* - Fettuccini Alfredo - Spaghetti Carbonara - Fusilli Pasta with Pesto*

Service was great! Quick serve. $13 for pasta and 2 pieces of bread. Qty was ok. Tasty pasta. No good on toasted bread. We will visit again.

The food here was absolutely fantastic, and in pretty generous portions as well. My only issue was that I found a chunk of hard plastic in my food as i was eating it. Thought it was a bone at first until i spit it out and saw it. Things happen so i can try to look past that, but the food is quite pricey - yet there is no atmosphere to the restaurant to accommodate those prices. The interior is very minimal. There are no servers, you get up to get your own food and drink - i just cant understand what about this earns the prices they charge for the food. I suppose its worth trying but with the plethora of options in houston i personally wouldnt go twice.

I placed a to-go order today around 7:50 PM and was really looking forward to one of my favorite dishes—chicken piccata—along with a full Italian salad and full spaghetti with meatball. Everything seemed fine until I got home and noticed that the chicken piccata was only a half portion. I’ve ordered this dish many times in the past, and a full order has always come with two chicken cutlets. This time, there was only one. I returned to the restaurant to check if there was a mix-up, but was told that a full order now only comes with one cutlet—and a half order comes with half a cutlet. At $26, I expected more, especially considering past experiences. It was a disappointing surprise from a place I’ve enjoyed for a long time. I hope this was a misunderstanding or a recent change in portions, but either way, it left me really let down.

Barnaby's Cafe is a popular spot in Houston, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a wide variety of dishes. Visitors highly recommend trying their delicious cookies after a satisfying meal. The cafe is known for its excellent service and flavorful food, with generous portion sizes. It's also pet-friendly, with a special menu for furry companions. The charming cafe is conveniently located near the museum and has an outdoor terrace where patrons can enjoy their meals with their pets.
It’s my second time at this branch and they never disappoint. The food is always good, service is good, and ambience was perfect. We didn’t have to wait to be seated even though we went there around 6PM. They have a promo that you get a bottle of white or red wine for every purchase of 2 entrees, so we had 2 bottles of wine for free. Perfect! Great deal!

Very nice restaurant that has serves all day breakfast and other good tasty food choices. Street parking can challenging yet there is a parking structure within a few hundred feet that doesn't charge anything if you eat in that complex. Otherwise, service was really good, the portions were quite large and the bill is very reasonable. Definitely a repeat location.

Service was absolutely top notch! Brought our pup for some calm Saturday morning desensitizing. Our server greeted us with a bowl of water for her and a treat. Quick and frequent check-ins and refills on tea and lemonade. If you have a craving for a guilty pleasure like a chili dog, lord this is the place. Absolutely massive. Cute clean decor. Comfortable indoor or outdoor seating. Expansive menu with lots of customizations to offer.

Phenomenal food, good service, reasonable prices, and conveniently located! We found Barnaby's a couple of months ago and have tried several locations. The one on Binz is truly wonderful. Recently we had the burger, California chicken sandwich, grilled chicken plate, and chicken mil valley. In all cases, the meat was cooked to perfection, tender, and succulent. The side dishes, such as rice, mac and cheese, fries, broccoli, spinach, and black beans, are all VERY good. The flavor profile of all of their menu items is truly fantastic. The portion sizes are HUGE!! Also they offer breakfast ALL DAY which is extremely nice especially when you love waffles as much as me. And yes, their waffle is absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is clean, nice, and inviting. The service is fast and friendly. The price for dinner for 3 was about $70 + tip. The free attached parking garage makes it very easy to park and keeps the car cool in the hot summer months. The restaurant is dog themed, and they are super dog friendly (the patio is geared towards this). Overall, Barnaby's is truly an amazing restaurant. If you live near any one of them, you'll become a regular like me in no time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a great experience at Barnaby’s Café! We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, so I honestly expected the service to be winding down — but I was completely wrong! The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and so accommodating. A huge shoutout to our server, Melanie, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was exceptional. Thank you, Barnaby’s, for ending our evening on such a high note!

The service is good but the food is very bland and ridiculously over priced. If the food was delicious then a high price is understandable, but the tiny portions and flavorless dishes here are just a waste of money. However the staff is friendly and very attentive. The interior theme feels like a wood box and doesn't lend at all to a Mexican restaurant dining experience. Save your time and money, go somewhere else.

The food and service were great. We came here after another restaurant told us the wait would be over an hour. Here we were seated very quickly. The margaritas were strong, and the fajitas were great. The only fluke was I ordered guacamole as an appetizer...it was really a lot of guac but not a lot of seasoning. The atmosphere was pretty loud between the people and the tvs. All you can do is eat because you probably have to yell to hear each other. On a weekday, I imagine it might be calmer. Overall, a great restaurant!

Absolutely one of my favorite spots for TexMex Cuisine. I came for lunch this time and it was so good! The menu here never ceases to amaze me with some original dishes like the salads or the brisket tacos, good portions, and great flavor. I definitely recommend giving this place a try!
Brianna S — Google review
The food was not very flavorful, just average nothing special. Better Mexican food choices nearby. What made matters worse was the absolutely terrible and rushed service. From the get-go he was very rushed to and you could tell he was flustered with all his tables (not out fault). To make matters worse, he proceeded to take our order and he must have misheard the tortilla I ordered and when the food came I noticed we had flour tortillas instead of corn. When I mentioned to the waiter that we got the tortillas wrong and ordered corn he said ok and brought them out. Until later we realized he charged us for the corn tortillas, and when I brought it up to him he proceeded to argue with me that I should have “returned” the other tortillas. Was not opposed to giving them to him but he failed to mention this and especially should have said it was an additional charge. It was 2.99, no point in arguing but what a terrible way to conduct business. Never returning. Don’t recommend.

Hughie's is a laid-back spot known for its selection of craft beers and a diverse menu featuring burgers, Vietnamese sandwiches, and other entrees. Located in the Lazybrook/Timbergrove area, this Houston gem offers a fusion of Southern and Vietnamese cuisine. While they previously faced some challenges with their bread choice, they have since improved by using a more suitable roll. The restaurant provides efficient service even during busy times, with friendly staff who cater to patrons at the bar.
Hughie’s is one of those places that just makes you happy. Their chicken fried steak is my absolute favorite—crispy, tender, and full of flavor. I never thought I’d rave about kale, but theirs is seriously so good. The shaking chicken and beef have so much flavor and just the right kick of spice. Hands down, best chicken vermicelli I’ve had in years. Chicken was cooked to perfection with lots of flavor. Tiny's No. 5 is a charming rustic-chic eatery that serves up a delightful array of American cuisine, perfect for any meal of the day. Known for its mouthwatering breakfast options, juicy burgers, and delectable wood-fired pizzas, this spot has something to satisfy every palate.
From the start, I felt this restaurant deserved a five-star rating. While I initially considered giving four stars due to one issue, the overall experience was so enjoyable that I couldn’t justify it. The only shortcoming: the espresso machine was turned off while guests were still dining. After such a wonderful meal, we were looking forward to an espresso with our dessert but were told it was no longer available. For a restaurant of this caliber, that’s a clear miss — espresso service should remain available until the last guests leave. That said, everything else was outstanding. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, received excellent service from Abby, and enjoyed a beautifully simple, elegant atmosphere. The food was exceptional, and the clientele added to the upscale ambiance. A special highlight was Chef Chris visiting our table to share insights on the menu — a personal touch we really appreciated. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.

The food was good, but the service was super slow. We had to flag down the waiter multiple times instead of them checking in on us. The coffee was a total disaster. I ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and it was so bad I sent it back. Then I thought, "How hard can an espresso be?" But it was ridiculously bitter and acidic - I'm talking coffee-gone-wrong levels. Turns out they roast their own beans in-house. Honestly, just buy good quality beans from a reputable roaster. The experimentation didn't pay off.

Located in the vibrant Hanover development, it stands out among other dining options like Torchy's Tacos and upscale eateries such as Coppa Osteria and Punks Simple Southern.
Stopped in for lunch and very happy we did! Very nice atmosphere, delicious food and Oscar provided exceptional service. $7 margaritas on Monday's, lunch menu was very good with lots of options and portions were generous. They also have a very pretty patio.

We visited Cyclone Anaya's in Rice Village on a quiet afternoon during spring break. We were among the only customers inside, with just a couple of guests sitting in the patio. Despite the slow pace, the experience was a mixed bag. The atmosphere was disrupted by the waitstaff talking loudly to each other across the restaurant, which made for a less-than-relaxing meal. At one point, they were even talking loudly over one of our drinks, which felt unprofessional. Unfortunately, much of our order was placed incorrectly and had to be corrected. As for the food, it was hit or miss. The beef fajita tacos were lukewarm and rubbery, lacking flavor, while some of the other items came out hot and fresh. Overall, the food was just okay—not terrible, but nothing memorable. On the bright side, we really enjoyed the Botana Platter appetizer, especially the nachos, empanadas, and quesadillas. My kids liked their meals, particularly the chicken tenders and sliders, and I have to say the Titanium Margarita was excellent. We debated between going with our tried-and-true favorite, Pappasito's Cantina, or giving Cyclone Anaya's another shot after not visiting since the Midtown days. We chose Cyclone's based on the good Google reviews, but honestly, I’m not sure we’d rush back to this location anytime soon.

Had dinner here with a friend and the food was quite delicious but service was lacking severely. We ordered the rib eye platter which came on a plate and not the sizzling platter we expected..it was also served in a hurry by the manager. Our waiter only stopped by the table to take our orders and drop off the check. May check out other locations but this one needs to improve their service. Also Valet is 10 bucks so find street parking or park in the rice village deck and walk over.

Los Tios is a Tex-Mex restaurant chain that originated in 1970 and is known for its classic dishes and margaritas, as well as busy happy hours. Customers have praised the food, service, and atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a Friday night dinner after shopping. Really great place to bring family! We had just moved into the area and was looking for a good tex mex place to try and I came across Los Tios on Google and decided to try it out tonight for date night. We walked in around 6 o’clock and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. We let the hostess know it was our first time and the manager (Mag) nearby heard our conversation and introduced himself. When we sat down for dinner. The tamale and chili was excellent, the cheese enchilada was excellent, the refried beans were a little runny, The crispy taco was actually a puffy taco shell and it didn’t eat well, as soon as you started to eat it, it all broke apart and you had to eat it with a fork. The cheese puff was really tasty. Overall, I enjoyed this meal, however, the use of puffy taco shells on their tacos just doesn’t work. I question one of the staff about this and was asking about a regular taco shell. I was told that all their crispy tacos are of this form. it just doesn’t work. The bowl of chips they bring to the table are very thin and don’t hold up to the salsa. Both saulsas were very tasty, but had no heat. Overall, we had a good experience and I look forward to coming back to try other things. Just know that anything called a crispy taco is a puffy taco and you are going to have to use a spoon or a fork to eat it. This was my main complaint with this menu. Additionally, parking is very difficult, the restaurant is in a strip center, and it can be hard to find a place.

We ordered for delivery from this location. Great food. Good flavor. Real Mexican food. We have been in Houston for 8 months and I had given up hope. Everyone serve Tex Mex food. You have my our tummies very happy tonight. Thank you so much for the great food. It was almost like being home again.

WORST ENCHILADAS IN ALL OF HOUSTON. This is the second time I've given Los Tios a chance on their enchiladas, absolutely disgraceful. You might like them if you're a 70 year old white lady, but if you know anything about Tex-Mex, or even just Mexican food in general I advice you to stay far away from this place. $50 down the drain. Not only did the food taste like crap but it was cold and we only live a few minutes away. ( To go order )

We were wondering how we have never come to this place before. The food, service and atmosphere were all splendid and couldn’t ask for a better Friday night dinner after shopping at Meyerland plaza. The Chips with dip were so crunchy and fresh. We order the chicken fajita 1/2 pound and it was plenty enough for 2 people. The food has an authentic style cook and the corn tortillas looked like it was made fresh. I highly recommend this place for a fun family Mexican restaurant dinner.

Fine dining restaurant
Georgia James Steak is a sophisticated restaurant by Chris Shepherd, located in the former Underbelly space. The eatery offers a refined ambiance, featuring a raw bar and an extensive wine selection. The menu has been elevated with more cuts from Texas wagyu producer Marble Ranch and prime beef from 44 Farms.
I had been wanting to come here for over a year and finally got a group together to make it happen. I made a reservation and they graciously put us in the quiet room in the back given the size of our party. We were on a mission so we Did the double baller board and it was super fun to try everything. Felt like a medieval feast fit for kings. The juicy crispy in house fried Chicken was a surprise hit. We had ribeyes and strip steaks and tomahawks galore. I wish we kept better track of which ones were the best. I really liked the Argentina steak as well. We enjoyed couple of fishes like the sea bass and the salmon. The mac and cheese with truffles was a big hit as well. We had to order more. All the sides were good The desert was also extremely tasty. Raspberry tart with sorbet and the chocolate cake were both delicious. All in all a fun experience.

Georgia James Steakhouse in Houston is one of those places you definitely want to go back to. A truly beautiful restaurant that honors the creations of the talented and charismatic Chef Erick Cruz, who brings together a unique mix of cultures and techniques, being of Mexican origin with French culinary training. All of this is complemented by excellent service. This time we had the pleasure of trying several dishes recommended by our knowledgeable and very kind server Ángel Say, who impressed us with both the dishes and his outstanding attention. The wine list is extensive, with a strong selection of sparkling wines to please every taste. It is also worth mentioning that the restaurant’s location adds another layer of charm, since before or after dinner it is very pleasant to stroll around the plaza and explore the other dining options in the area. For its warm atmosphere, delicious dishes, and excellent service, Georgia James is one of those places to return to on #undiacualquiera and to recommend. By the way, a great choice for a date. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Have been wanting to try this place and it did NOT disappoint! We got there a little late without a reservation and the host was nice enough to give us a table for 6! We ordered the charcuterie board and the bone marrow which I have to say it’s one of the best I’ve had so far. The presentation and flavors of the bone marrow was top notch. We ordered a bottle of wine which our server poured into a decanter making a great presentation. Our server Ivan was super helpful with the menu and very attentive. Will definitely go back for a special occasion.

Wonderful experience. The food presentation and taste was amazing. Fine dining with a very intimate twist. Our server was attentive and very communicative. We had the snapper, scallops, truffle mac and cheese and mushrooms. I was shocked at how great the mushrooms were. Definitely have to come back to try some of the other dishes.

Came for Houston restaurant weeks - the food was great the shrimp cakes and the steak were amazing and the dessert was soo good. Would’ve rated a 5 but the service was so rough. We did the wine pairing and our server brought out all of the wines without saying what they were at all, and when we asked it was clear he really didn’t know and wasn’t going to find out for us which was disappointing. The energy from our server was very weird all night like we were annoying him and it brought the experience down.

Island Grill is a laid-back juice bar that serves up smoothies and health-conscious Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The menu features unique combinations, such as sautéed onions and mushrooms in a gyro, and steak pita with Swiss cheese. While the food leans more towards Greek-American fusion than authentic Greek, it's still flavorful. Customers appreciate the attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable dining experience.
It was good, but the older guy with the pony tail working behind the counter was giving me the creeps. He kept checking me out and asking me if I was "doin alright". I ate a sirloin pita sandwich. It was ok. But the free ice cream is the best I've had. It was strawberry.

Excellent excellent food! Very clean store, everyone has a great attitude which is a huge plus. The kabobs are awesome, they even have a little ice cream station. Alllll kinds of food with an extensive breakfast list.

This is such a cute place to go for breakfast if you’re looking for something sweet and savory I loved the French toast with the chicken. I would recommend this meal. I also added a mimosa to my order and it just topped it off !

Got the veggie omelet, eggs were not fluffy but FLAT making the omelet bland and inedible. The sliced cheese also throws it off as too much cheese to flat egg ratio. The Java jolt tasted like they used old brown banana, so much it over powers the whole smoothie you can't taste anything but rotten banana. For $30 I'm pretty dissatisfied. Cute dinner, love the tables, seating and music ambiance. Was very clean.

What a great restaurant. Went for dinner on a weeknight, service was friendly and fast. Ordered a chicken and beef kebab with fries, and a chicken pita. The food was absolutely delicious and the manager brought out a sample of baklava that was delicious. The beef on the kebab was so well cooked, the meat was tender with great flavor.

Delicious Mediterranean food with generous portions and amazing flavor! The garlic sauce is absolutely addictive—creamy, bold, and perfect with everything. Great value for the amount of food you get, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Will definitely be coming back!

My first visit. The food was very delicious. The lady that took my order was so patient in helping me decide what to order. She was very knowledgeable. My food smelled so good and look so delicious before I took my first bite. I plan to return soon.

Meh. I wasn’t impressed. The first thing I noticed upon walking in was the smell. There was a fish odor that was unpleasant. Had I not been meeting someone, I would have walked out. Prices are a little high. $23.57 for a burger (that wasn’t so great), fries and a drink. Actually, the drink was the best part. Since they didn’t have sweet tea, I opted for my next favorite, lemonade. The Roy’s Fresh Lemonade and Sonic type ice was really good. My friend said the Margherita pizza was pretty good, but the honey mustard dressing for her salad was more mustard than honey. She wasn’t very impressed with the lunch either. The seating was a little uncomfortable. The very thin cushioned booth side is elevated higher than the chair side of the table. It made for an strange “taller than the other person” feeling. I expected it would have been a busier place than it was, but maybe others share my feelings on the establishment.

Craft Pita is a modern Mediterranean eatery with two locations in Houston, offering carefully sourced dishes. Chef Rafael Nasr, the founder, brings a taste of Lebanon to the city by using olive oil from his family's orchard. The menu features classic Mediterranean fare such as hummus, pita sandwiches, and bowls made with fresh ingredients. The restaurant's colorful and beautiful dishes reflect Nasr's love for fresh olive oils, fruits, and vegetables inspired by his childhood summers in Lebanon.
We decided to try this place as the menu items seemed interesting. We were pleased to see that they made most dishes in house with natural ingredients. The food was delicious and fresh. The wait staff were super nice and helpful. Overall it was a very pleasant dining experience.

We ordered the lunch special, which I think is the best considering it’s quite a good portion . The wrap has fries inside it , a nice kick I would say. Spicy hummus and babaganoush were good . I ordered a side a soup , which wasn’t to my liking , it’s very mild and Luke warm in temperature. I wa expecting it to be little hot considering it was freezing outside. The pistachio cookie is my favorite ! Sauces are decent as well .

I ordered the half chicken online to-go and was told they only had 1/4 chicken left, but they could start the half if I really wanted it, it would just take an extra 30 minutes. Understandable and as I wanted the half chicken, I opted to wait. Pretty good decision because the rotisserie chicken was yummy. The skin was nicely crispy (although slightly missing on my leg piece) and the meat was juicy. It could have had a little more seasoning to amp up the flavor, it tasted like a juicy chicken but not necessarily like anything unique, and I do feel it was priced a little high for what you get… but it’s not the worst thing. I had the hummus on the side that was very creamy and I appreciated the olive oil and pine nut topping. Clearly I started chowing down before I remembered to take a picture!! The pita was honestly like grocery store quality in my opinion so I would rather have had the choice of adding rice instead of dry bread, but again not really worth knocking points down for a fresh and good meal.

We love this place, and always get the chicken pita and a side of fries. They make the best French fries ever imo. Also garlic aioli is the bomb, wish there is more that comes with the order. Counter service, food Comes out fast.

First time here on the recommendation of a friend. I got the Shawarma Fries and the Chicken Shawarma Pita. Both were cooked very well but the garlic was so overpowering in both I would either not get the garlic next time or I would just consider other menu items without the garlic. Based on my experience today I would give this place a 5 out of 10.

Quality of ingredients 10/10 .Flavor should not be underestimated. The melody of flavors with the Beef Pita and spicy hummus was amazing. If you like Mediterranean and lots of flavor Craft Pita is a must. Also a nice touch, the tip recommendations were a breath of fresh air and the Service was very friendly and attentive.

The ingredients are fresh, and it is a safe option for people with allergies, which I appreciate. However, the seasoning is fairly average, so I wouldn’t return specifically for the food. That said, their iced tea is excellent. I have come back just for the iced tea, and I’ve even purchased a jug to take home.

Thai restaurant
Nestled in the Heights area of Houston, Street Food Thai Market offers a cozy and bustling dining experience. This modestly appointed restaurant serves up a variety of authentic Thai dishes, from well-known favorites like pad thai to lesser-known Esarn delicacies from northern Thailand. The menu features an array of Northeastern Thai and Lao dishes, including pork neck with chili sauce and pork sausage with fried rice balls in chili dressing.
This is my favorite local restaurant. You know a place is good when it is almost always full. They have an extensive menu, and I have yet to try something I did not like. Service is good, and they also have a small grocery store with some Thai staples. Check this place out if you want good and authentic Thai food. Large portions too. Never left this place feeling hungry.

Just tried this local Thai spot for the first time and it was incredible! Everything we ordered was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The yellow curry was my favorite dish, followed by the pad mama. We ended the meal with mango sticky rice and it was the best one I’ve ever had. 5/5!

Not sure if they switched owners or have a different chef. Very different from 7 years ago. I come here for the papaya salad at least twice a month. The portion have been extremely small, the papaya thread from the shaving have been different too. I never want to post anything negative because it affects their business but damn…can you make it a regular portion? I used to ask for extra papaya but you’re better off taking your chances because the portion will still be the same but they will charge you extra and your $17 papaya salad will look like the picture below. I understand the price went up, that’s cool; but the quality is so bad now. Very disappointed in the last 5 orders. Tiny portion enough for a small child or ants.

Street Food Thai Market is our top Thai spot in the city. You know it’s good when Thai & Laotian families dine in too! We are Thai & Laotian and this restaurant has a lot of local traditional flavors on their menu . We recommend this place to anyone who asks about a good Thai spot especially in North Houston / Heights. They have the popular curry and Pad dishes. As well as more traditional dishes both Laotian and Thai.

The best authentic Thai food! I ordered the Som Tum Thai Style (papaya salad), and it was delicious—super flavorful and refreshing. I also tried the Tom Yum Noodle. I was initially worried it might be too spicy, as I don't handle spice very well, but they were very accommodating with my spice preference, and it turned out to be very tasty! The staff were kind and attentive. There's also a small market attached to the restaurant where you can purchase items. I can't wait to try more dishes in the future!

This is a store and restaurant hybrid, gave a very nice street food vibe. Food took a while to come out but it was worth the wait! It was father's day, so ig the wait was expected Good variety on the menu and everything was seasoned well! Only complaint we had was the staff chased us out to ask us to pay for the tab even though we settled it earlier but it was just a minor miscommunication :) Reasonable prices for the portions, humble little spot that serves good food

Had an amazing experience here. Took my family in around dinner time and were seated very quickly. It's a cute, intimate restaurant with a good amount of seating. It also has a small store connected with a bunch of neat snacks. Portions for each dish are HUGE. It was enough to feed my family of 6 and have leftovers to pack and take home. We ordered a few dishes, which we all shared, including Pad See Ew Beef (Level 1 spice) Pad See Ew Pork (Level 3 spice) Fried Rice Chicken The servers were kind and attentive. Will definitely be back.

This is a restaurant / store hybrid if you will. A small and unassuming place where one half is a sit down dine in (which is almost always full) and the other a Thai store where you can get staples. Neither detracts from serving incredibly tasty Thai food! I went in with a few friends and for appetizers got the Roti with curry sauce, Street spicy chicken wings and chive cakes. Our entrees were Chicken massaman curry, Beef larb, Pad krapow moo krob and Chicken pad khee mao. We shared a Mango sticky rice for dessert and it was hands down one of the BEST mango sticky rices I’ve had! Their Thai tea was incredibly tasty as well! Nice service, a bit of a wait time, but worth it for the food and portions!

New American restaurant
Ostia is a trendy, wood-fired eatery in Houston run by chef Travis McShane. The restaurant has an open kitchen and a bright, spacious atmosphere adorned with plants. It offers a menu that showcases Mediterranean and Italian-inspired dishes with a modern twist. Notable items include the flavorful half chicken served with lemon, salsa verde, and herb jus, as well as the rotating selection of pastas like gnocchi, bucatini, and linguine.
The restaurant is lovely, having been seated in the Greenhouse section. It’s enclosed but feels like a patio because of all glass doors/windows allowing sunshine to pour in with lots of plants surrounding us. My girlfriends & I all enjoyed something different from the lunch menu. It appears the menu changes regularly with certain variations of their plates. However, I can appreciate that because the meals are fresh and prepared rich with flavors based on the ingredients chosen by the chefs on any given day. I had a pasta Aglio e olio - which by description included shrimp with a red chili sauce. Wow! I also tried a pizza my friend ordered - Pizza Bianca- which was quite impressive. Two other friends were also pleased their choices. I’ve included pictures in my review. Our waitress was friendly and exceptionally helpful explaining the specific options on the menu which was great because it was Italian fare we weren’t very familiar with. Afterwards, we shared chocolate cake with our cappuccinos. The restaurant offered a valet which simplified parking for all of us. Overall, everything was wonderful and we look forward to visiting again soon.

A wonderful and cozy local restaurant. The vibe is so cozy. There's no pretentiousness. The food was great. I had the gnocchi, and it was the perfect texture. They were not afraid to use enough acid in the sauce, so it was not a creamy cheesy mess like you'd get at a chain restaurant. The potato wedges are so crispy and fluffy.
Manmohan S — Google review
Mediocre overall. Restaurant itself is gorgeous and the atmosphere is great. However I wasn’t blown away of their food. Their calamari honestly felt like cheap-out option. It barely had any calamari in it and they were overloaded with sauce heavy greens; very salty. Pizza was delicious tho. The dough was bouncy and the sauce had the right amount of saltiness. We ordered gnocchi and okra as well but they were average. Not memorable or great. I did find the server tad annoying, constantly asking us if we wanted our food packaged to-go when we were still waiting on our next meal. He visited at least 4 times while we were still waiting or eating, continuously asking if we wanted it packed. I would be thankful if he asked at the end, just not during our meal. It felt like he couldn’t wait to kick us out of there. Weird choice in service.

Had to go a couple more times for their Chicken Salsa Verde before they closed. Excellent and unique dish - perfectly cooked through chicken that’s tender and moist encrusted with crispy skin and that earthy, herbaceous salsa verde. It’s not a Mexican “salsa”/not spicy at all; more an amalgamation of seemingly every fresh herb they could find, finely diced and infused into olive (?) oil and drizzled over the chicken.) The cauliflower salad was good, too - three kinds of pickled (?) and/or blanched (?), thinly sliced cauliflower that is fresh and crunchy with pistachios and a bit of sweetness from golden raisins. Not pictured but I’ve had the lemon sorbet, which was good - very rich, for not being ice cream. A little unbalanced towards the tart side ; not enough sweetness to even it out. But still refreshing. Beautiful space, good service. I was brought someone else’s salad by mistake, but no big deal.
David C — Google review
Ostia is another of our favorite establishments which is a Montrose neighborhood-centric joint with a menu reflective of Chef Travis McShane’s approach to farm-to-table, rustic, and lighter Mediterranean fare with an underlying Italian tone. This Montrose favorite boasts botanical-inspired patios, outdoor-oriented interiors, including casually-chic dining spaces, air-conditioned outdoor terraces, and an intimate chef’s table. The Osteritas (Margarita) and many dishes are AMAZING! Sometimes the service has been a bit slow. Valet parking or parking lot located on Dunlavy, beware of massive pot hole as soon as you drive on ramp as your vehicle will drop hard. Just read in Houston Chronicle the owner is closing both locations on 9/13/25 as he wants to spend more time with his family. This is very sad news to me and several of my friends who are regulars. I must have the receipt for the twice cooked potato wedges with garlic aioli, Cesar salad and the Ricotta Pancakes.

I had such an incredible experience that I couldn't resist going back twice in a single week! The convenience of complimentary valet parking added to the overall satisfaction. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly, setting the tone for an exceptional visit. Even though I decided on a last-minute lunch, I never felt rushed at all. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food surpassed my expectations. The butter cake dessert, in particular, was a standout, offering a truly special indulgence. Not only is the food outstanding, but the venue itself is stunning. The meticulous decor placement and thoughtful design contribute to its beauty. The abundance of natural light creates a pleasant ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a casual date night, a delightful girls' lunch, or an impressive business lunch or dinner. Enjoy!!!

This is very nice looking restaurant. The patio and green room appear to be nice, but too hot for June. The host seemed bit arrogant when we arrived. He was better when we left. The service is very good. Our server Ashley (spelling?) was awesome and had great recommendations. Adequate wine, beer, and cocktail options. The food is very good. We ordered the Caesar salad 5/5, the house chicken 5/5, hangar steak 5/5, potato wedges 5/5, and chocolate mousse cake 5/5. Cannot wait to return.
Ron R — Google review
My wife, two daughters, and I decided to try Ostia, without making a reservation. When we arrived, we were greeted and told there was no room inside, but they would check. After waiting in the entrance for nearly 15 minutes without any updates, we finally asked about the status. Another person at the front desk curtly informed us there was no availability at all. As we were about to leave, she suddenly said that if we could be out by 7:15, we could sit outside. Her attitude was dismissive, but since we really wanted to give the restaurant a try, we agreed. Once seated, things improved. The food and drinks were excellent, and our waitress was absolutely wonderful—warm, attentive, and accommodating. The only minor issue was that the main dishes took a bit longer than expected to arrive. By the end of the meal, around 7:25, our waitress even suggested dessert, which we happily agreed to. Unfortunately, when she went inside to get the check, the same front desk host intercepted her, brought the bill directly to our table, and delivered it with an unnecessarily rude attitude once again. To make things worse, we then sat with the check for another 10–15 minutes, time we could have been enjoying dessert. Eventually, my wife had to take the check inside herself. Overall, our experience at Ostia was bittersweet. The food, ambiance, and service from our waitress were genuinely excellent, but the poor attitude and lack of professionalism from the front desk overshadowed it all. It’s disappointing, especially since we live nearby and had hoped to make this a regular spot to recommend to friends. Unfortunately, it’s now clear why Ostia doesn’t have stronger reviews—it’s not the kitchen or the servers, but the unwelcoming front-of-house experience.

Wow! I have to say that I was wonderfully surprised. We had the pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. The sauce was very tasty and fresh. I usually don't compliment pizza sauce, but this one deserves it. The crust was also great. We had coffee ice cream sundae, O...M...G...! It was so delicious. The chocolate sauce was very smooth and complimented the coffee ice cream perfectly. The lil donut holes were so tasty. My only regret is that we only got one to share. I took my boyfriend here for his 25th birthday since he had been wanting to check out the place—it was both our first time visiting. We started with the fried quail, which was delicious and came with a fancy ranch and hot honey sauce that paired perfectly. The crispy pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth good, though the oil from the skin hit my throat a little harshly and lingered longer than I liked. We shared the beef and pork bolognese and an anchovy pizza. Personally, I found the bolognese too salty, though my boyfriend enjoyed it. As for the anchovy pizza... it was questionable. The presentation felt a bit off, and the combination of anchovy and tomato sauce made it overly salty. Thankfully, my boyfriend agreed. Our amazing server noticed our reaction and kindly offered to replace it—we went with the classic pepperoni, and it was great! Thin, crispy, and flavorful. We even dipped it in the leftover quail sauce, and it was chef’s kiss. Overall, I’d rate this place 4 out of 5. The atmosphere was lively, service was excellent, and by the time we left, there was already a long wait (thankfully we had a reservation!). The missing star is just based on personal taste—some dishes were too salty for me, but we still had a great time celebrating. Would we go back? - YES!

Wife and I met up with some dear friends for dinner here last night. The food and service was excellent. Loved the quail appetizer. The pepperoni pizza is amazing! My only complaint is the parking situation. There is no dedicated parking lot. You have to do street parking which is hard to find especially during the peak dining times. Highly recommend this place!

Tiny Champions gets better each time. The cucumber salad is so refreshing and the butter beans is like crack. Not pictured is the spicy salami pizza and the dessert- Coffee ice cream with cinnamon sugar donut holes. Staff and waitress gave splendid service.

We had a good experience at Tiny Champions overall. The service was great. Our waitress was really helpful in recommending the right amount of food for our group of nine. The pizza was good, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, and the reservation process was easy. The appetizers were just okay and a little hard to share with a larger group. While everything went smoothly and we enjoyed our visit, I’m not sure it’s a place I’d go out of my way to visit again.

The food was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The place is really cute and I loved all the art work. I just got to say it’s not really kid friendly. The hostess told us there would be a wait time and offered to take a drink order while we waited, which I thought was nice of her. My 4 year old daughter ordered a lemonade. She came out with a beautiful fancy looking GLASS cup for my clumsy daughter to accidentally drop. I asked her if she can pour it in a To go cup. She said they do not offer to go cups. Luckily one of the other workers offered a solution he got a ice cream pint container and poked a hole on the lid for the straw. I thought that was very clever. We were the only people there with a kid which made me feel kind of awkward but if the website or social media would of said it’s not really a family restaurant, more of date night bar restaurant I would have not taken my kid. Either way my daughter and I loved our food and had a great time seeing all the art on the way to the restrooms! I’ll definitely be back just with adults though.

I wouldn’t get the feta app again as it just wasn’t warm enough. It was our second time trying it and it just misses. It’s full of flavor but not my favorite. The bread with it however. Spectacular. All in all a really nice meal.

My friends and I stopped by for dinner after a serious pizza craving. While it was a weekday and the restaurant wasn't overly busy, they did mention a preference for reservations. Thankfully, they were still able to seat us--but we were told upfront that they'd need the table back for a later reservation, which made the experience feel a bit time-sensitive. We ordered a mix of items to share, starting with oysters and two pizzas: pepperoni and greens. The pizzas were decent--crispy and fresh--but not particularly memorable. The real standout for me was surprisingly the oysters. As someone who usually doesn't enjoy oysters, I found theirs genuinely good. The pickle juice mignonette added such a unique and flavorful twist that even I couldn't stop reaching for them. The ambiance leaned more toward romantic date night with its dim lighting, but it still felt casual and laid-back. The service was great--friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Even though we had a limited time at the table, they never made us feel rushed. Overall, it was a nice evening with friends. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend making a reservation just in case--and note that parking is limited to street parking only.

Barnaby's Cafe is a unique local chain that offers creative American diner eats to its neighborhood clientele. The cafe is known for its colossal breakfast burritos and buttermilk stacks, as well as European-inspired fare at Bistro Menil. Other nearby options include Vibrant for healthy breakfast choices, The Hay Merchant for Bananas Foster pancakes and pecan-smoked pork breakfast skillets, and Brasil Cafe for brunch plates on the back patio.
Barnaby’s Café is a cozy, vibrant spot with a welcoming atmosphere and great service. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, with generous portions and vegetarian-friendly options. Their burgers, salads, and brunch dishes are standouts, and the desserts are a must-try. The colorful décor and dog-friendly patios add to its charm. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Barnaby’s always delivers a satisfying experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a casual yet delicious meal in a relaxed setting.

Barnaby's has been one of our favs for a long time. You can always count on their hamburgers. I had a guacamole burger and my daughter had the blue cheese burger. Both burgers were ordered medium and came out perfect, so big I could hardly eat mine. We both had sweet potato fries, which came out as a huge mound, so crispy and tasty. We split a plate of the Hawaiian pork chops with regular fries between them. Those pork chops were so flavorful. With all that said, we save our trip to Barnaby's for a special occasion. The order added up quickly. There are areas in the restaurant that look like a group of eight could sit, but I would call ahead or eat at a less popular time. We arrived at about 1:30 or 2:00 PM. We had our choice of seating and there was only 4 of us. When they are crowded the noise level can naturally rise. We came after lunch and it was so quiet.

We enjoy coming here because everyone gets what they want. Menu has tons of options and portions are big. Best sweet potato fries ever!!! Place is not big and the air sometimes seems like it’s not working but we still enjoy the food.

I love Barnaby's! Just moved to the area and came through a few times! They have happy hour and kids eat free on Wednesdays with and adult meal purchase. My children and their friends enjoyed the food and there is patio dining available. Great place for the family or for a date or business lunch.

Serious Cleanliness Concerns – Disappointing First Visit We visited this Barnabie’s location for the first time on Mother’s Day, expecting a special experience. While dining, we witnessed a cockroach crawling toward our table from the kitchen, which the waitress had to step on. When we brought it to the manager’s attention, she nonchalantly explained that there’s a “roach tree” out back, and the roaches just come in and out—but they do exterminate. That level of casualness about a serious cleanliness issue is unacceptable and honestly disturbing. Adding to the disappointment, our waiter forgot to put in our order, so we waited 30 to 45 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, my mother’s burger was burnt. The service, cleanliness, and food quality were far below expectations—especially on a day meant to feel special. The presence of cockroaches and how it was handled deserves to be taken seriously and discussed more openly. This was not just an off day; it reflects a much deeper issue that needs to be addressed. We won’t be returning to this location. Click on picture below of shoe to see the roach that came from the kitchen

Reasonable pricing. I got the waffle fries with blue cheese fondue and the sliders with spicy bacon jam, very tasty. I asked for extra bacon jam expecting them to charge me a few dollars more but no extra charge, which was nice. Server was really nice and conversational but not too conservational.

Barnaby’s is a great place in Houston! The portions are huge — easily enough to share between two people, which makes it a great value. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, with a wide variety of options to suit any craving. The only draw back was that i found the chicken fried steak a bit greasy. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. Even during busy hours, the vibe is upbeat without feeling overwhelming. Another big plus: there’s plenty of off-street parking, which makes getting in and out super convenient — a rarity in Houston! Definitely recommend if you're looking for generous portions, a fun environment, and good service.

Takeout Restaurant

Soup restaurant
Salata is a popular counter-serve chain known for its customizable salads, wraps, and soups. Customers can create their own salads by choosing from a wide variety of toppings, dressings, and cheeses. The portion sizes are generous, with the large salad being particularly filling. In addition to salads, the menu also includes sandwich wraps and kids meals. Many customers appreciate the value for money that Salata offers, with a flat price for a satisfying meal.
I recently checked out this place, hoping for a decent salad with the $11 I shelled out. But to my pleasant surprise, I ended up getting way more than I bargained for – a seriously impressive salad. Ordering is a simple counter affair, allowing you to customize your salad to your heart's content. I opted for the large size, and trust me, it was a massive portion. I might have gone a bit overboard, piling on all sorts of ingredients except for beets – who's even a fan of beets, right? One of the highlights was the fact that most of the add-ons, including egg and bacon bits, came at no extra cost. It's a rare treat to have so many options without the additional fees. Now, let's talk blue cheese. They've got these delightful crumbles that add a tangy punch to the salad. Although I was slightly let down when I realized they were missing blue cheese dressing – it's like the cherry on top that was absent from the sundae. All in all, this salad was worth every penny of that $11. It was a hefty portion that allowed me to load up on various toppings, excluding beets, of course. Despite the lack of blue cheese dressing, those blue cheese crumbles managed to salvage the flavor game. If you're looking for a satisfying salad experience, this place definitely delivers.
John T — Google review
I went yesterday @ 4pm for the 1st time the customer service was terrible, the Hispanic guy with the hat that was fixing the salad was lazy and was very skimpy on the toppings. At the end I asked for tortilla chips it was 5 crumbles left in the container he dumped those on my salad instead of going to the back to get more. I was literally the only person in there. The black lady at the register looked half sleep and and wasn't inviting at at all. And just to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, If Salata isn't treating you guys right there are other places that are hiring.
Elite M — Google review
To the owner, you will be getting 1 star even though the food, service and atmosphere were 5 stars. Why? Because I found out later and after the fact that your establishment overcharged me by $0.95! Factoring in sales tax of $.08 equals $1.03. Is this a one time mistake or are you doing this to all your customers? Making an extra buck off everyone can add up, but is this practice worth losing customers over it? I guess I should have paid more attention to the charges and receipt while I was there, but I shouldn't have to if I am entrusting you to provide great food at an honest price. I am providing photos to doccument the proof.

The food at Salata is AMAZING — truly top tier! It’s consistently fresh, flavorful, and never disappoints. BUT the atmosphere can be a bit overstimulating. The space is always clean, which I appreciate, but the music is louder than I’d like — especially when I’m just trying to enjoy a salad and recharge during my lunch break. A slightly more relaxed vibe would make the experience perfect.
Chanel D — Google review
this was my first time coming to Salata and I never ended up getting my food. I ordered for pick up because I was on my way to work so I just wanted to stop by and get my food rather than walk in and stand in line But I ended up being in the drive-through line for over 45 minutes. I’m pretty sure it was an hour. Three different associates came to the window over the span of me being there and kept asking me my name and then finally they say they can’t find my order when you should’ve told me that within the first 10 minutes. I understand not being able to find my order because I know things happens, but it’s the fact that you waited basically an hour to tell me that. I really was interested in trying this place. The food looks really But If you want to eat here go to a different location! Customer service is trash in my opinion. Y’all can keep that funky $14.
Lauryn A — Google review
This was my first time at this location and it did not go well. I walked in to choose my lettuce for my large salad and one batch had hair in it. I know accidents happen, but the lady removed the string of hair in front of me and did not replace the batch of lettuce. Instead she removed a few and replaced it with more. I found it disgusting. I’m not sure what the safety policies are, but pretty sure that’s a health violation and she should have replaced the whole batch. I was grossed out seeing the lettuce stick to the hair as she removed it. If she could do that in front of a customer and not take the batch away immediately there’s no telling how sanitary it is when we aren’t looking. I won’t be back at this location. I sent in a complaint with corporate and received no response. We pay almost $20 for a salad you would think customer service was a lot better.

Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about Salata bcs my first experience made me feel like it was too much $ for so little food. But that was about 7 years ago...or so. A week or so ago, I ventured there w/my Sis on word of my Son, and was pleasantly surprised. The price was reasonable and the food was delish! There was so much salad on the small salad, that I had to eat it in 2.5 meals. The ginger lime salad dressing is OH MY!! The soup was on point; so much that my Sis has eaten there almost EVERYDAY since last week. Definitely a place that deserves continous return trips...and it's healthy!! Last but definitely not least, the customer service matched the delicious food!

If you're in Houston and craving a delightful soup and salad experience, look no further than Postino Montrose. This charming spot not only offers a fantastic selection of wines to accompany your meal but also boasts some standout salads that are sure to impress. The Hannah's Field salad is a vibrant mix of kale, heritage grains, apples, apricots, toasted almonds, pecorino stagionato, pickled red onions, all drizzled with an apple cider mustard vinaigrette.
We had the opportunity for a very rare date night recently. When making the reservation, I put a note stating that, and if there was anything they could do to make it a little more special, we would appreciate it, but understood if they couldn’t. When we arrived, we were seated at a table tucked away from the rest of the crowd. After being greeted, the manager (I believe?!) brought us two glasses of champagne and a card signed by the entire staff! It made our night (and made me look great because my wife had no idea!)! The service was excellent, the food was DELICIOUS (I never realized a chicken panini could be so AMAZING), and the atmosphere was perfect! Thank you for an unforgettable date night, we will definitely be back!

Had a lovely brunch here with some friends. I ended up ordering the bruschetta board and it was delicious!! They also had a really good prickly pear drink and customized it for us with black salt and tajin on the rim. This is the perfect place to come and have some upscale bites and drinks with your girls. The staff was so helpful and very welcoming. Our waitress was very patient; she went over the menu together with me to find something I could eat since I have some dietary restrictions and the end result was delicious!! Will definitely be coming back in the future.

I’ve found that lately, Postino’s has been a recent favorite of mine. So while I was out yesterday I decided to visit a different location (because it was closer) for a lite bit. I literally order the exact dishes ever. The chicken and chili was absolutely delicious, however, the SWEET N' SPICY PEPPER JAM & GOAT CHEESE from the bruschetta board option didn’t taste as amazing as it normally does. The bread seemed a bit stale unfortunately. Apart from that, the customer service was top tier and I truly enjoyed the Blackberry drink!

So I took my cousin, who came into town from Austin here before worship night in 3rd Ward at Nations House of Prayer. We were there for a while, and our server was amazing! We got a quaint little corner spot that was super comfortable, and despite it being really busy due to happy hour - we were immediately seated and so well cared for the entire time. It was very cozy and the perfect place to hang out and catch up on everything. We enjoyed an appetizer of their meatballs with goat cheese and they were soooooooo yummy! The perfect amount for 2 people to share. Then we had the a small plate each - she had the gulf shrimp which she said was incredibly good & I had the grilled cheese with tomato soup. It was all so good and very reasonably priced. Neither of us drink but they had great wine and drink deals for Happy Hour and they have tons of indoor and outdoor seating. It was threatening to storm so despite how much we wanted to kick it in the outdoor area (it’s super chill & really fun) we chose to play it safe indoors. DEFINITELY a GREAT place for a date, a night out with friends or really for an anytime anything. I will say they only have small plates, but that’s super fun because the prices are so good you can try several of the items and, if the 3 we tried are any indication; they’re all worth getting to munch down on!

Everything from the food from our original server was great The only thing I didn't like was one other people that did give us our food I can't remember who she was she just seemed a bit snooty and she kind of gave me the feeling that she looked down on us and I didn't appreciate that other than that amazing experience I'm not sure if it was because of us or whatever the case is but I would go again I just didn't care for that part of it.

First time at this location. The bruschetta board was delicious and innovative. Love being able to choose 4. Service was a great team effort and friendly. Our entire meal was unique and tasty. We definitely over ordered but had leftovers for later. My only complaint were the flies. The side patio was open and I imagine its the heat driving them indoors. There were many and they harassed us during our meal.

Came in the 4th of July for a quick bite and drink. Really enjoyed the veggie sandwich and grilled cheese & tomato soup. The espresso martini was on point. My husband was not a big fan of the aperol spritz and that was his own fault as he was not familiar with the drink itself .. he was being adventurous and trying something new. He was a trooper and finished it though. I think there's a parking lot next to the restaurant but we found street parking which there's plenty in the area. The vibe was nice and service was good with friendly staff.

If you're on the hunt for a laid-back spot that beautifully blends American and Vietnamese cuisine, look no further than Hughie's. This beloved establishment has been serving up delicious dishes in Houston for years, with its 18th Street location being a local favorite. The menu is a delightful mix of burgers and authentic Vietnamese sandwiches, but the real stars are their specialties that showcase the best of both worlds.
I brought my kids to Hughie’s Tavern and Vietnam Grill and we had an awesome experience! The chicken tenders were a big hit—crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I was also impressed with their great beer selection. One of the best parts? They’ve added a green space for kids to play, which made it super family-friendly. Plus, the fans and misters outside are a great touch for staying cool. Can’t say enough good things about this place—it’s become a new favorite for us!

Food was different from the usual Vietnamese food I have tried, lacked a little salt , but maybe that's just how they make it . Service was attentive and quick. My only complaint would be that instead of getting full slices of chicken, that it be in strips so it would be easier to consume

Cute place lot of booths and a huge outdoor patio it's great to bring a large group and kids. Their draft selection is huge and has a lot of local brews as well as flavors i haven't seen somewhere else. Their food was very underwhelming with taste. I had to add multiple sauces available on the table to finish my meal. I got the sauteed beef vermicelli bowl with an egg. My friend got the Hughies burger. The food was beautifully plated but once we started eating it was lacking flavor. The portion and prices were fair i will say. The staff was friendly and even as they were a bit busy they checked up on us multiple times. I will come again and try a different day as I was excited to try this place out. They have a decent size parking lot available with handicap parking and tables both indoor and outdoor.

Great service and excellent food; there is a nice selection of draft beers as well. We had calamari, a burger, a rice platter with pork, fried rice, fried egg, and an egg roll. We sat outside on the covered patio, but they also had plenty of seating inside. I recommend checking this place out.

This is the third Hughie's location I've tried and I enjoy this location the most. The food is always great. The service is on point, very attentive, the quality is there for the price you pay. Very cool vibes. It's a place that beats to their own drum. Seems like they always have something going on during the weekends. I've ordered their fish 🌮's which are good and have had their delicious blueberry muffins, the best. Their coffee is exceptional. Have already been back a few times. Oh, they also have wine and beer selection, too. Very relaxing. I've started following them to see what entertainment they host. My reading is really a 4.5 & that's just bc I thought the tacos were slightly bland but that's really a preference thing. Bohemeo's has been a staple in this neighborhood for as long as I can remember, and it's easy to see why. It's a great cafe with a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. The food and drinks are a little on the pricey side, but the quality is good, and it’s still a fun and unique place to hang out. It's a great spot to meet friends or just spend a quiet afternoon.

On my quest to visit as many coffee shops as possible I finally visited Bohemeo’s. The coffee was decent and I bet it can have a great vibe during the right time of day. It was very quiet when I was there. I didn’t like paying extra for a to go cup and I would have opted to drink it there had I known. I’ll try it again.
Hea L — Google review
As the name would suggest, Bohemeo's is a coffee shop with a Bohemian vibe, located far into the East End. The venue has an indoor area with with a small stage at the back and bicycles on the walls, an adjacent covered porch area, a courtyard with fountain, and a covered pavilion which also contains a stage. Seating is pretty ample with a decent amount of indoor and outdoor options. Based on the notices on the walls, it also seems live music is a regular occurrence on said stages. The place offers a standard if not expansive coffee menu (not a lot of more unique options like flat white or matcha) with beans from local roaster Cruiser Coffee as well as draft and bottled beer, wine, and a pretty extensive food menu of appetizers, cookies, tacos, quesadillas, salads, and sandwiches. They also offer food specials, and when I visited, it was "Fish Taco Friday". On this occasion, I was just there to get some work done and so only had the drip coffee, which was of a good smoothness and richness. The staff was very friendly, and there was a small crowd of people both indoors and outdoors. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because, while I do like the decor and vibe, it didn't feel quite as cozy as I would have preferred for a coffee shop in which to work. Regardless, yet another good addition to the good coffee shops in the East End.

I hosted my school’s holiday party here the last two school years since it’s just down the street. We have not been dissatisfied! They have the perfect backyard patio area for a small-medium group. The food is described as amazing, delicious, and fresh, with high-quality ingredients that truly stand out. The team is praised for being kind, polite, and efficient. While some find the prices on the higher end, they believe that the quality justifies it.
If you’re looking for an authentic and delightful Mexican brunch experience in Houston, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit! I had the pleasure of trying their Mexican bowl, and it was nothing short of perfection. Every bite was a burst of flavor, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients and the mastery of the kitchen. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Houston, this spot deserves a place on your list. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience you’ll want to repeat. Highly recommended!

We picked outside seating and large floor fans gave a pleasant breeze until they died midway through meal. The drinks were the best part of the night. Waiter mentioned bartender was new so when the requested shots were made they offered to replace the first round as they were very spicy. Slight language barrier where translator was necessary if questions asked about meals, etc. The rest of the table loved their dishes. Unfortunately my ceviche had clearly expired shrimp. They removed the cost of the dish from the ticket. The interior decor is beautiful and many photo opportunities. Restrooms were very clean and well stocked.

Went for lunch yesterday since a friend recommended this place. The service was outstanding and the healthy drinks were amazing. Wish I could say the same for the food. Mid at best. Tacos come with 2 spicy sauce and 2 non spicy sauce. Had the ribeye, pork belly and Mahi Mahi tacos. The protein was way over cooked and dried out. The food looked pretty but rather bland. No flavor , no seasoning, and dried and overcooked. The octopus was tender but need to be char as the skin was rubbery. Mole sauce was underwhelming. The free plantain chips was they only think that had salt on it.

Creative menu with some very tasty dishes. Was not too impressed with the food and service. Exorbitant prices for the quality and the quantity. Do not order the Mezcalina - it's a waste of money (see picture to get an idea of the serving size as compared to the glass of margarita). The tables are too small, so be prepared for cramped seating. The chairs are uncomfortable.

Food was decent, it has nice presentation and a lot of different options but doesnt have very much flavor. Service was not great. I don't think the waiter understood a lot of what we were asking for or ordering. We mentioned we were celebrating 2 birthdays and wanted to order a special dessert but nothing was ever brought out. The place was not full or busy but the food took a very long time to come out so we were way longer than planned to be and didn't want to wait again to keep asking for the dessert, we just paid and left. Its a beautiful place. But it was so hot, like the a/c wasnt working so that made it difficult also. The atmosphere in appearance is great but they need to get it together and have better waitstaff, kitchen, whatever is wrong. Any other place on that area has great service. This was far from it.

This restaurant is in a great location and I love the interior design. I was not a fan of the meal I had and neither was my friend. I ordered the protein bowl and added tofu. I feel like flavor was lacking.

I went to Ojo de Agua for dinner and honestly, the experience was pretty disappointing. The tables were placed so close together that it felt like I was having dinner with the strangers on both sides — no sense of privacy at all. The service was painfully slow. It took 20 minutes to get our appetizers, another 20 for the main course, and an absurd amount of time just to be told that the dessert we ordered was unavailable — not once, but twice. To top it all off, we waited ages just to get the check. It felt like the staff knew how bad the service was, so they gave us a flan to go as an apology — which was a kind gesture, but not enough to make up for the overall frustrating experience. Wouldn’t be in a rush to go back.

FRESH! FRESH! FRESH! The food quality was spot on! This was My first time trying a Poke bowl when I say this place gave me an experience to remember and enjoy! The owner was patient with me he took the time to explain each available ingredients! He also gave samples of the ingredients that I wasn’t familiar with. His Customer Service skills were top notched he made me feel welcome and he decreased My anxiety related to trying a new experience inspired by My niece Gabby who loves Poke Bowls!❤️ The Owner and My niece explain what the Poke Bowl is it they both said it is basically a Sushi Bowl. If you want to experience this delicious dish you need to definitely go check it out! I will definitely be back! Quick side note I was not use to eating cubes of raw fish. The texture and taste threw me off 😂 but the owner was gracious enough to cook the fish that I selected which was Yellowtail, Tuna and Red Snapper YES you get 3 protein options and the prices are reasonable! This is definitely a 💎!

Late afternoon was quiet on a Thursday, attentive service from behind the counter. Lots of choices to build a poke bowl. All the ingredients were fresh, really enjoyed the experience. Fair price, great service, and a clean restaurant. Thank you.

I randomly came here with my friends and decided to try it out. They have a wide variety of options with their protein and veggies. 🤤Also the miso soup was pretty good. I would highly recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood craving some poke. 🥰

The owner is a GEM! He is polite, kind, and helpful! The food is delicious. He makes the best sushi rice I've ever eaten. I will definitely be returning!

I’ve been getting poke here for god knows how long and I have to say I think about this place every time I want poke. The ingredients are fresh, very generous serving, SOOO many options and the most affordable place for a 3 protein bowl! Did I mention they don’t charge extra for avocado 😩😩😩 If only I lived in this area, I would get this every day. The owner is so friendly and sweet he is literally the best. Best poke in Houston hands down :) ❤️❤️❤️
Lena T — Google review
The protien selection was amazing (lots of options) and the poke was delicious. Miso soup came free with the meal. I'm not a big fan of miso soup but this can be a plus depending on the person. Drink selection came across rather limited to me, a fountain drink option would hit the spot good prices, competitive with most other places. solid 4/5. Do recommend

As Always calm and the food fresh. They have a great variety of proteins for your bowl. Love the coconut ginger sauce. Place is relaxing and calm. Love to eat at this place.

Awesome food 🥘 with really good price. I ordered 3-protein poke, and it only cost $11 plus a free cup of soup. Perfect for quick lunch. Very clean environment and friendly staff. Recommend it to all of my friends

Vibrant is a contemporary spot offering health-conscious dining, creative smoothies, and a selection of coffee, wine, and spirits. Located at Memorial Park's Running Trails Center, it features an all-day breakfast and lunch menu with dairy-, gluten-, and refined sugar-free options. The cafe opens into a vaulted patio surrounded by colorful native wildflowers and trees. The menu includes crisp watercress salads with dijon dressing, fluffy masa pancakes topped with cashew foam and fruit preserves.
Perfect for a Saturday/Sunday lunch. The vibes of the entire restaurant were chill and relaxing for a beautiful afternoon. First time trying the place and we were looking for a healthy, delicious light feeling meal - Vibrant met those standards. Shout out to Henry and the rest of the staff for the wonderful service! We ordered the Sweet Potato Hash and Cauliflower Tabbouleh Bowl with added salmon. They were both incredibly delicious and flavor. Highly recommend the Flower Balm Spritzer, it was so good we ordered drinks to go. Excited to go back and try other menu items as well as the great service. 10/10 recommend✅

Probably my new favorite place for breakfast. They did a good job with the atmosphere. That’s the first thing you will notice. Minimalist. A relaxing place to get a healthy bite and study/work. The drinks presentation and flavor are A+ I tried the blackberry toast, and a matcha 🍵 latte, ridiculously delicious. Dishes are small but healthy and packed of energy. I felt so good after my breakfast. We paid around $48 for a breakfast for two, 18% tip included. Totally recommend. Definitely I will be a returning customer.

Such a delightful place! It can be hard to see when you first pull up. It’s tucked away in beautiful trees that when you dine outside, it feels secluded and peaceful. The guy at the register was so patient and kind with me when I asked about the different items on the menu and his recommendations. I got the sweet potato hash, breakfast taco and iced mocha latte. It was filling, delicious and was kind to my gut! You can taste the fresh ingredients. My friend got the chocolate banana chia bowl and I’m looking forward to coming back to get that as a guilt free treat!

Vibrant spot serving up healthy, tasty food You can taste that the food is freshly prepared but I do wish the serving sizes were a bit bigger. Service was very friendly. The restaurant decor is features large windows that let in plenty of light and a modern decor. I’d recommend Vibrant for folks looking for a health-oriented cafe.

Upon arriving, it has a somewhat welcoming atomizer; I did not know where to go. We did not know if we sit down or go to the cash register. We proceeded to the cash register. I told the cashier that it was my first time, and I told her that I have allergies; I also asked what she recommends, and her response was, we are gluten and dairy-free... Not helpful at all. After skimming through the menu on the clear window taped, she pointed at it and told me to look it over. Overall the food was okay but not wowed factor. I get the feeling of it being dairy and gluten-free, but the price of items does not fill you up. The soup was more watery and did not have a lot of vegetables nor chicken. The salad was meh but not with a lot of flavors. I was expecting to taste so much more flavor and not so bland. Overall it's a place to come and check out once in a while but not too impressed. I have had better experiences at other sites with flavorful plates than here.

Vibe- This is a neat spot near the Montrose area that you probably won’t know about unless you just so happen to stumble upon it like I did on social media. There’s plenty of seating outside and a nice amount of seating inside too! Customer service- Good, but could’ve been better! Food/drinks- I got the chocolate banana chai bowl that is vegan and I enjoyed it; I’d probably try something else on my best visit though because the chocolate was a bit much for my liking. I also got a hot matcha latte that is made with their cashew milk and I got some honey added to it for sweetness. Parking- They have a lot with a good amount of spots.
Courtney C — Google review
I would call this my favorite hidden gem in downtown Houston. Incredible vegan options fueled by entirely organic ingredients! Such a rarity, especially given the fact that they use no gluten, no gums, and no soy in any of their products. They even explicitly state so on their menu - huge props to the Vibrant team! I highly recommend anyone to visit this spot for either a casual meetup or date. The staff is so kindly aware of customer needs. On top of that, Lead Chef Patty knows what whole food vegan nutrition is all about! Huge shoutout to this place and they way it is setting the clean standard for all vegan establishments not only in Houston but around the world as well. Keep it up!!

Vibrant In Houston, TX is vibrant in every way! The restaurant's personality speaks loud. The atmosphere and food radiates positive energy, it makes you feel good, healthy, and you'll definitely leave satisfied with a smile on your face. We were only in town for a weekend and ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our must haves include the Blue Masa Pancakes, The Golden Milk Latte, Za'atar Socca, and the homemade Creamy Herb Fettucini. Any dietary restrictions let them know! They are gluten-free, dairy free, refined sugar free, corn free, peanut free, and non-GMO. All wines and spirits are natural and the restaurant follows ethical farming practices sourcing local and organic, they don't believe in microwaves, the team makes everything in house from their breads, pastries, pasta, nut milks, etc. Need we say more. Go check them out. You 100% will not be disappointed!

Tacos A Go Go Downtown Tunnels is a vibrant spot offering familiar Mexican dishes in a quirky setting with a Carmen Miranda theme. The restaurant serves authentic tacos, burritos, and tamales that are sure to impress your taste buds. They also have an early breakfast menu featuring delicious options like potato and egg or chorizo and egg tacos. Additionally, they offer a full vegetarian and vegan menu with various meat substitutes and veggie taco choices.
Great food and super easy to order online. Great success with ordering breakfast tacos for the office, the tacos were delicious and everyone was happy. The staff is always friendly.

I can't stop going here! All their tacos are awesome, but expensive. Premium tacos at a premium price. Order a fajita taco and you will get strips of meat in it. They don't skimp on their ingredients. They're open at 7 am and serve lunch tacos as soon as they open. This is a super plus. I don't really like egg tacos and love getting pastor in the morning. You must go here!
Rodrigo C — Google review
So my co workers and i have been going to this location a long time.. tacos have always been very sizable and good. We know not to go between 12pm and 1pm because the service and tacos are not the same. They are much much smaller and the line is going to be long. I was having a "last resort " Friday so I got in line around 12:30pm. The taco was so small with barely any meat on it, that I had to go back and show them... the crazy is part of their brand is making sure the tacos have a sizeable amount of meat in them. But hese are not the same tacos! Lol.. I think this is a good business, just not consistent and not between 12pm and 1:30pm. Try them at 2 or 2 30 and the difference is obvious

The food is so delicious that I ordered mixed fajitas for 80 for lunch. AMAZING! They set up for me and we had plenty of food. Will definitely order again.

I’ve been going here for over one year and I order specific items do to my health and diet restrictions. So I understand how the restaurant might find this situation challenging. Yesterday they messed my order up and I kindly took it back and they started to remake it. Everything was ok until the last cooking my food had a major attitude about it, you could literally see how bothered she was by having to remake the food. I decided I didn’t want it because of this behavior. I don’t want anyone with bad energy making my food. She was acting like this was my fault! So today I went to go order some food and the manager came and told me that they can’t serve me no more that nobody wants to cook for me. Ok, by… I guess the cooks run this business and turn the customer away like they’re the ones in the wrong!
Jessica C — Google review
I had two breakfast tacos. They were massive. I ended up eating one for breakfast and one three hours later. The filling was very good. Good egg, good vegetables, good meat. The tortilla was solid as well. I now know of a place in the tunnels for when I'm stuck in downtown Houston.
Syed A — Google review
The food was okay, but the service needs serious improvement. My order was wrong, and when I tried to fix it, the staff acted like it was my fault. Prices are high for what you get, definitely not worth it.

Nestled in the vibrant suburb of Katy, Mandito's Tex-Mex is a delightful venture by Armando and Cinda Palacios, who are passionate about sharing their love for Tex-Mex cuisine. The name "Mandito," meaning little Armando in Spanish, pays homage to a cherished childhood nickname of Armando. This lively eatery serves up generous portions of classic favorites like cheese enchiladas and sizzling chicken fajitas while also catering to those seeking lighter fare.
if you have a Dino lover like we do, this is your spot!! they have the Tacosaurus Rex! my boys were happy! they loved the food and the gentlemen that assist us was so very friendly, kind to my boys, and very attentive! and he even let us know that the kids get free desserts, now that made their day. The frozen margaritas are delicious!!! oh and their chipssss... they are like hand made or something... that is not store bought chips like they do in most restaurants. they were super crunchy and amazing! I was in the mood for a soup and it was very filling even for the cup just for myself. the staff was very nice in general. Thank you!
Jax S — Google review
So the atmosphere were nice, clean & quiet. The restaurant was basically empty had it to myself. Ordered the chicken fajita with refried beans & black beans. I also requested flour tortillas. Tortillas was hard & thin, the refried beans & black beans lack seasoning tastes like it came out the can. The chicken was also lacking seasoning. Ordered a frozen margarita that was the best thing out of the whole meal. I think it was a bit pricey to be a small glass however it was very good. First time visiting for an early Mother’s Day lunch/dinner. Last time visiting as well..!
Kourtnee F — Google review
Excellent airy atmosphere and colorful decor. Drinks were nothing less than wonderful, I recommend the lavender margarita and I don’t even like lavender. Food was close enough to authentic TexMex, not perfect, but very very close. Will return.
Rhett E — Google review
I love me some Tex-Mex and Mandito's delivers. The queso just might be the best I have ever had (and I'm not a huge queso guy, I'd rather have some guacamole) The house made chicharrones are killer. The fajitas are on point and the charro beans could be a meal by themselves. Oh, I almost forgot about their top notch salsa. If you are anywhere near Bellaire, TX and are thinking that you might even kinda want some Tex-Mex go to Manditos.
Joe M — Google review
I wanted to love this restaurant with all my heart. It's Tex-Mex, but sadly, the food is not the Tex-Mex I am used to. The drinks are awesome. But the food lacked flavor. The queso was the worst queso I have ever had at a higher end restaurant. The blood orange margarita was the best thing I had, and worth the price of admission. We had the chips and salsa. The beef crunch tacos and steak tacos al carbon. The best thing on my platter was the rice. The black beans were okay; the twice refried beans were good once I put some salsa on them. Like I said, the steak lacked flavor. The chips the restaurant itself touts as the best Tex-Mex Chips were really thick, and I only ate a couple. So, in conclusion, pricing is a little high on everything. The margarita was smaller glass for the price than I am used to. But drinking there is good.

Great food and awesome ambiance and decor. Really loved the general vibe here. The photo below is the veggie enchiladas. Wish they had something other than just spinach inside but tbh the taste was great so no complaints there. Will def be back.

I ate here with a group of 10. We received prompt, friendly, and courteous service. My dinner mates all commented that they enjoyed their entrees. My tasty, spicy tortilla soup was among best I have ever had. We all enjoyed the generous servings of fresh chips and delicious salsa. The light jazz music in the background helped create a pleasing ambiance where it was easy to talk. Look forward to putting this restaurant on my list of favorites.

Will not be back. Upon entering, did not see any staff anywhere as we stood waiting for someone to seat us. We looked towards the bar, even looked in the kitchen entrance…not a soul in sight. There was one other couple in the restaurant so it was dead. We seated ourselves. We waited and waited and waited. I turned around to look towards the kitchen and finally caught someone’s attention. He brought our menus and water but barely spoke English which sucks since it was our first time and we had questions. The waiter was gone for a very long time before coming back to take our orders. Once the food came out it was incredible disappointing. The fajita taco was completely saturated in grease in the bottom from the refried beans which had several pools of oil sitting on top of them. Our enchiladas were cold as were the nachos. Very overpriced for the quality of food and service we received. I will add it’s a very nice place that’s decorated very nice.

Picnik is a cafe that caters to various dietary needs, offering options for paleo, vegetarian, and gluten-free diets. The establishment prides itself on being gluten-free, peanut-free, and refined sugar-free. They provide a detailed allergen chart to assist customers in customizing their orders based on specific dietary restrictions. Most of the menu items are dairy-free with an emphasis on paleo, keto, and plant-based choices.
Came here right after they opened and it was a fantastic experience and meal. Everything they offer is gluten and allergy free so you can feel good about eating good food! Their matcha and butter coffees are delicious. We orders their guac, burger and the salmon. Everything was 10/10. Can’t wait to come back and try their brunch!

First of all the restaurant and its location are very pretty and modern but I wish the food had lived up to the expectations created by the location. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We ordered The Farmhouse Breakfast, the Harvest Hash and French Toast. The harvest hash was more on the sweet side than savory so much so it tasted like a dessert. Too much maple syrup maybe. The Farmhouse Breakfast was ok. The French Toast had a strange sour tang that didn’t really work. I would recommend their Americano and Rooibus Chai. Overall a bit of a disappointment considering the price of the meal hence the 4 stars.

My favorite food was probably the chicken strips! Probably the best gluten free chicken strips I have ever had! Drinks were good, but pricing is a bit on the high side for portions or food & beverages. The cashew queso was pretty salty in my opinion, but it was the first time I have had cashew queso, so it just may be a salty item & I am not aware. I really wanted to love this spot since I follow a gluten free diet, but unfortunately I do not believe we would return really soon unless that was the only safe food available in the area or they changed up their menu significantly. If you follow a gluten free diet I would say give it a try, but prepare to overpay.

A nice place for brunch. Very cool and chill vibe. The food here is good however, the service wasn't good. The server messed up our order several times. We tried - 1. Taco bowl with tofu- it was filling and really good but tofu wasbt good. You can avoid tofu. 2. Avocado toast. - it was okay because the avocado didn't taste fresh but not bad either. 3. Vanilla latte- this was also fine. Overall the place is good for brunch and not so crowded but almost full on Sunday afternoons. Also, they have free valet parking. It's located at Montrose collective which gives an aesthetic vibe.

I made a reservation, when we arrived the table was ready. The super chic place, good atmosphere and pleasant spaces. Staff quite attentive, friendly and willing to help, Debra O was our excellent server. The service was somewhat slow, there was only one person at the bar, at the food as well. The Grass Fed Burger was very good, I liked the fresh potatoes. The carne asada tacos were not so good, the tortilla seemed old, it broke all over. The drinks were delicious, my favorite was the Pitaya Margarita. I feel like the place is a bit overpriced. The prices are similar to a fancy restaurant and the place is nice but more relaxed. You can do valet parking or park in the paid parking lot. The restaurant offers ticket validation, which I thought was excellent.
Roberto R — Google review
Let me begin by saying the service was excellent. I was disappointed in the taste of the cashew queso after reading the reviews on how good it was. I didn’t think it had any flavor at all. I did like the smooth, creamy consistency. I ordered the loaded smashed fries as my entrée and added crispy chicken. It was phenomenal! All the flavors went together so well and the chicken was delicious. I liked it so much, I went back the next day and ordered it again. The Southern Charm was my libation of choice. The taste was out of this world good!!! It was so delicious…tart and slightly sweet. With that being said, it was a big disappointment due to the amount of drink they actually give you. It comes with a huge square ice cube in it, which makes the glass look full, but when you remove the ice cube there was literally an inch of drink in my glass for $14!!! I was not a happy customer. I asked my server about it and she said that’s how it comes. Unfortunately I will never order the drink again, but will be back for the food.

Vibe- Cute spot in Montrose Collective! There’s a lot of spots to sit outside and a good amount of seating inside. My favorite seating area is by the bar, there are 18 wooden barstools and plenty of space :) Happy hour is from 4pm-6pm everyday. Customer service- Amazing! I was greeted multiple times when I walked in. Food/drinks- I got the veggie tacos and cashew queso on the happy hour menu to eat and a hard cherry limeade to drink! Parking- There’s a parking garage right by the restaurant that I parked in. I paid about $8 for almost 3 hours of parking in the garage.
