Magnol, located on North Post Oak Road in Houston, is a French-inspired bakery founded by Executive Pastry Chef Otto Sanchez. Having honed his skills in Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, he returned to Houston to bring the taste of authentic French bread and pastries to his hometown. The bakery offers a variety of delicious treats such as organic artisan baguettes and fluffy croissants that draw long lines of eager customers.
Worth the money and worth the wait, hands down. Finally was able to try it and I’m blown away everything was SO GOOD! Got one of a bunch of things to try and haven’t had any that I didn’t love. The croissant bread pudding is the new love of my life it’s amazing!
Laura H — Google review
Magnol is recommend on many posts, and Mademoiselle Louise is closed two days in a week, so I decided to give it a try. Croissants are good, I prefer a thicker and crunchier outer later. But very close to being authentic. You can see pastry chefs working hard through the glass window. Most people get a lot of breads and croissants to go There are small tables outside but it is just too hot and uncomfortable to sit outside.

Beautiful and Blessed morning. Who is ready for some decadent and delightful treats this morning? Meeee! If you want authentic and fresh, hand made delicious French baked goods mess, then come to Magnol. They have places to sit inside and out and you can watch them create magic through the windows!! ChowChow time!!

I have been coming to this little French bakery for a while now. My normal practice is I visit the place many times before I post a review about it. So, after I found out about this place from social media, ranking this place high on their croissants, I have decided to visit. Without making it a long review since it has only 2 stars, here are the highlights: Food = 3 stars, above average, freshly made. Service = 1 star, they have succeeded in achieving Parisian attitudes. Some are nice, many are dead inside, some cannot be bothered. Asked her about why no prices posted anywhere near any products. She appeared annoyed, you just have to ask for the price (thats probably 30+ diff products.) Expect long wait in the morning. The worker's attitudes reflex management. Atmosphere: small charming design, but located in a less than average area. Recommendation: Don't go out of your way to try, you are not missing much. Many good bakeries are popping up in Houston in the last 5 years.
S B — Google review
This place is incredible with their selection of DECADENT desserts, flavored Coffees, Expressos, Teas pastries, and more ! We got a couple pastries and a ham & grilled cheese ! It was around $45 for my grill cheese with ham & a couple pastries. So in my humble opinion - They are also waaaaaay overpriced ! We've been a few times and it seems at times. I have been charged for items that were put into my bag that I didn't even order, so it has happened twice !!! It was all wonderful tasting! No doubt, it IS absolutely TOP NOTCH EXQUISITE !! but I certainly didn't order all of it...Buyer beware ! check your order before ya leave! It is without doubt WONDERFUL TASTING expensive food !!!
Clint W — Google review
Finally tried Magnol. Worth every penny. I didn't try any of the breads yet, I will have to come back. I got linzer tarts, lemon raspberry roll, opera cake and croissants. Every single one of them absolutely delicious and possibly some of the best croissants in town. Highly recommend trying each of them and one croissant is just not enough.
Annie P — Google review
Always love visiting! Everything is fresh and delicious. The line was out the door when we arrived but the staff was very efficient.
Gabriel S — Google review
This place is really good. We got the Paris brest, the pistachio eclair, the canele, the chocolate almond croissant, the passionfruit cheesecake, and the Mille-feuille. Everything was good but the eclair, Mille-feuille, and croissant is what we’d get again. We wanted a chocolate cookie but there was a delay between when I got there and when the next batch would be ready. The only gripe I had was there wasn’t a label on all of the items offered so I was picking blind a bit Came back to try the coffee eclair and the passionfruit mango eclair, both of which were good. The lemon meringue tart was even better The pear caramel danish was just fine. The banana Nutella danish was great. The chocolate chip cookie is fine The cinnamon roll is really good - light but flavorful. The raspberry vanilla cruffin is decent but I wouldn’t get again. The strawberry almond chocolate croissant wasn’t great for me - too much going on for flavor. I’d opt for strawberry almond next time The blueberry financier was ok and the chocolate hazelnut croissant wasn’t great

Bakery
Mademoiselle Louise is a traditional French bakery located in Downtown Houston, at the bottom floor of the Skyhouse apartments on Jefferson and Main Streets. Founded by Chef Frederick Fortin, a native of Normandy, this bakery offers an array of authentic French viennoiseries and delicate pastries such as eclairs, cakes, and pies. The spacious and inviting interior makes it a popular spot for friends to gather over freshly baked goods.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mademoiselle Louise is hands down one of my favorite spots! I’ve known the owners for over 6 years, and it’s truly a family-owned gem. Frederick, the owner and the most incredible baker, pours his heart into everything he creates — you can taste it in every bite. Their tuna sandwich deserves a special shoutout — it’s honestly the best I’ve ever had! Perfectly balanced, fresh, and flavorful — every time I visit, I can’t resist ordering it. If you’re looking for authentic French pastries, fresh bread, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, Mademoiselle Louise is the place to be. Highly recommend!

That urge to checkout coffee shops once you landed in the new city! This is one of the top rated cafe for ambiance and pastries. It didn’t disappoint me one bit. There are enough tables inside and outside the cafe & the ambiance is great, clean with a lot of natural light coming in that beautiful Saturday morning! Pastries looked great & tempting. I ended up getting an almond croissant and Mocha latte. Loved every bit of it. Croissants were fresh & flaky :-)
Sathish N — Google review
This cake shop is amazing! I placed an order just one day in advance, and they had the cake ready the next day — super efficient. There was a small miscommunication where they initially quoted $45, but the final cake was actually an 8-serving cake worth $60. They still only charged me $45, which shows how honest and customer-focused they are. The cake was not only beautiful but also delicious. I’ll definitely come back again!

Very cute coffee shop with sandwiches and pastries. Enjoyed the smoked turkey with a chai latte. Will come back to try the pastries. Good service too!

A regular customer here. Their pastries are incredible. They have a lot of staff to constantly feel anything that’s running out and it’s all fresh. All the employees are very kind and sweet. They really love the vibe. Suitable for people from all background.
Darrel D — Google review
This is in my top 3 french patisseries here in Houston. Perfect for lunches on-the-go or a quick coffee date! The croissants are light and flakey with tender insides. The flavors in the quiche are simple, yet fabulous. Do not skip the canele, it’s a real treat for the palate.
Farwa H — Google review
I wanted to love everything about this cute little place but I have mixed feelings. The device was excellent and very friendly. The setting was perfect for enjoying a coffee and snack with a friend or have some quiet time alone. The breads and pastry are so tasty! Where they lost me was the quiche I tried today. I got the veggie one and it had what seemed to be a frozen mixed veg in it. I have never wanted corn, carrots and garbanzo beans in my quiche. There were also an assortment or green beans and peas and a whole bunch of miscellaneous veg, the flavor was weird. I had to pick most of it out and eat what was left, and I am not picky.
Annie G — Google review
It’s located in the heart of Houston downtown area on a weekend morning we were able to grab a spot pretty quickly. It does have some tables pretty picturesque seating and decor. The service is amazing the server was attentive and very friendly. Food was definitely a big disappointment the canelle was undercooked inside for $3 tag you don’t want lump of dough inside. The quiches were okay not soo good. The kouign Amann had the taste but shape was kind of awkward. The coffee was very good something on a brighter side.

Common Bond Bistro & Bakery in Montrose is a charming rustic-chic cafe and bakery known for its delectable sweet pastries and seasonal savory dishes. The acclaimed chefs at Common Bond have introduced two custom-designed Valentine's Cakes, available for pre-order online until February 10th. The 'Gnome Matter What' Cake features handcrafted fondant gnomes and comes in various flavors, while the Cupid's Heart Cake with buttercream frosting is perfect for a romantic celebration.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 / 5 (My Rating) Visit Common Bond Bistro & Bakery (Montrose) absolutely delivered. We left STUFFED and happy. Pastries We started with a kouign-amann (basically an upside-down croissant) and it was AMAZING!!flaky, caramelized, buttery perfection. We also had the Raspberry Chocolate Chip Muffin and my wife absolutely loved it. Brunch: We split the Eggs Benedict and the portion was HUGE. The hollandaise was perfect and the egg was cooked just right. Drinks I had the Morning Bun Latte which somehow hit that perfect sweet spot. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and coffee. To top it off, my wife’s Pumpkin Spice Latte was literally better than Starbucks, she said it came sweet and with the right amount of pumpkin 🎃 . Service The woman greeted us at the pastry counter was so sweet and patient. However, the male cashier made us feel a bit rushed even though there wasn’t a line, which took a little shine off the experience. Overall Food and drinks were AMAZING, portions were HUGE, and we’re definitely coming back. If not for feeling rushed at checkout, this would be a perfect score. P.S. They also don’t give you dining in glasses if you order a large coffee, you have to ask for it separately. Which is no problem, just a heads up 😎
Zachary P — Google review
The place looks nice, the food looks so beautiful but some of them looked better than they tasted. The flatbread we got was pretty good as were the fries, the kids loved them. The sweets that we got were kinda bland. I personally liked the almond croissant and coconut macaroon. Parking is limited but we were able to get a spot fairly fast. Tables inside were small and the chairs uncomfortable, but if you’re just sitting down for a quick meal they’re fine. I’d expect them to be bad for people who were planning on staying and working from here.
Stephane M — Google review
This was our first time visiting, and while the experience ended on a high note, it didn’t start that way. We had a few questions about the menu, and unfortunately, our barista’s attitude was surprisingly dismissive. When I asked about the white chocolate mocha, she curtly replied, “This isn’t Starbucks.” The audacity! I politely explained that I was a first-time guest—and also a local food guide—and her demeanor shifted immediately. Thankfully, a more experienced staff member stepped in and took over our order. She was incredibly attentive, making sure our coffee was not only delicious but beautifully presented. She even went the extra mile to ensure our pastry was freshly made and photo-ready. To be completely honest, the coffee and pastry were outstanding—worth every sip and bite. My only recommendation for the management team would be to reinforce the importance of customer service. First impressions matter, and you never know who’s walking through the door or what their reason for visiting might be. That said, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll be back!
Zaykeese R — Google review
Common Bond Montrose is a must-visit! The pastries are top-notch—especially the buttery croissants. The brunch menu is fantastic; the Chef’s Scramble and Avocado Smash are personal favorites. The coffee is always smooth, and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. Whether you're grabbing a quick treat or enjoying a leisurely brunch, this spot never disappoints.

Here’s a polished and heartfelt 5-star Google Maps review for Common Bond Coffee & Bakery, with a special shoutout to Ms. Ariam: ★★★★★ Amazing Bakery with Incredible Service! My first visit to Common Bond Coffee & Bakery was an absolute delight, thanks in large part to Ms. Ariam! As first-timers, we were a little unsure what to order, but she was so patient, kind, and gave us fantastic recommendations. Her warmth and professionalism made the experience even better. We tried the **Kouign-Amann** and **Cranberry Orange Scone**—both were absolutely amazing! The Kouign-Amann was buttery, flaky, and perfectly caramelized, while the scone had the ideal balance of tart cranberry and zesty orange. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service from Ms. Ariam and the team truly stood out. Can’t wait to come back and try more treats! Highly recommend this place.
Jennifer M — Google review
Would recommend and love to come again! I came for breakfast at around 9:30 during a weekend - not crowded. The shakshuka crossiant is a special dish: a bowl-shaped crossiant, with a running egg and tomato-based sause inside. Very tasty even for me who is not a fan of tomato-flavored dishes. It's like a pasta but with crossiant instead. The bottom of the crossiant won't be crispy because of the gravy inside, but it still tastes well with its buttery flavor. Kouign Amann is crispy and reasonable in sweetness. Matcha latte is great - there is a bit of sweetness instead of a strongly bitter matcha flavor, but the sweetness is not strong and just right.
Y. Z — Google review
Whenever we wanna relax and hangout and have some dessert and coffee, here is one of our first options. Lavender, croissant, and matcha desserts are our favorites plus cappuccino.

We checked the reviews and drove here for exactly 1 hour, but it's totally disappointing. It was never worth it. We bought pistachio croissants, but it was completely painted, it was never natural.

Bakery
Nestled at the intersection of River Oaks and Montrose, French Gourmet Bakery has been a beloved family-owned café since 1973. This charming spot is renowned for its delightful blend of French and American baked goods, making it a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. The bakery boasts an impressive array of treats, from buttery croissants to rich eclairs and whimsical sugar cookies that are almost too cute to eat!
I had a wonderful experience at my favorite French Bakery thanks to Sara. She greeted me w a warm smile the moment I walked in and was incredibly patient as I asked questions about the different pastries. Her knowledge of the menu and recommendations were perfect and she was attentive to detail. I felt more like a guest rather than a customer. The fresh cup of coffee was awesome! Thanks Sara! KM

I purchased a Too Good To Go surprise box from this bakery, expecting a good deal as advertised. They claimed the value would be $21, but for $6.99, I only received one bag of dinner rolls and two cookies. Based on their regular pricing, the total value didn’t come close to what was promised. It felt more like a way to offload leftover food rather than offering a true surprise deal. The food itself was just okay. I’ve tried Too Good To Go from other places and always received much better value. This experience was disappointing and felt misleading. To make matters worse, the staff didn’t seem friendly or welcoming, and it was clear they weren’t interested in helping customers. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend buying a Too Good To Go box from this bakery. Save your time and money by going elsewhere!

I ordered an entire Italian cream cake as a birthday cake for my husband and it did not disappoint! I had my wedding cake made here in 1984 and haven’t been back for years and I was thrilled to see it was still in business. The cake was moist, layered and perfection. I grabbed a couple of coconut macaroons and lemon cookies as well and they were all delicious. Definitely gourmet. Good place to grab a coffee and a French pastry for breakfast. Cute tables and chairs are available to eat at inside. I will continue to recommend and come back again and again

Found this place when searching for fresh baguettes. Their baguette is the best in the city - perfect crust, explodes with texture and so soft and fresh inside. Pair with Red Beans & Rice , fantastic experience! Plus the sweets are crazy good - never had a better coconut macaroon - ever!!

Cakes were fabulous. They were for the Baby Shower for my first grandchild (granddaughter). The guests loved them. French Gourmet Bakery is outstanding in every respect.
Mark S — Google review
This is a beautiful place to grab some baked goods. I will preface with I had a sandwich. The baguette was a great texture and flavor. The sandwich overall was basic, but fresh and on great bread. Everything looked incredible in the cases though. I will have to come back and try some of the other items to get that 5th star. I will say the cookie was excellent though! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful which adds to the experience. Plenty of parking too!

Went today to check out what's on the cake menu. The staff definitely knows their product. They helped me decide on the Strawberry Daubache 1/4 sheet cake. Prices are very good for a bakery/cafe in River Oaks 👌

Coffee shop
Fluff Bake Bar, owned by the talented Rebecca Masson, is a delightful gem nestled in Houston's Midtown. Known as Houston's own 'Sugar Fairy,' Rebecca honed her pastry skills at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and has an impressive background that includes competing on Bravo’s Top Chef: Just Desserts. Since opening Fluff Bake Bar, she has garnered numerous accolades, including being named Best Bakery in the South by Southern Living Magazine.
Walked over and shared the bourbon pecan tart (tasted very much like a butter tarts, in all the good ways). A bacon fat gingersnap, star crossed lover (which is like a rice crispier treat, dipped in chocolate) Everything delicious

I come here almost every weekend. This is hands down my favorite bakery in Houston. I recommend it to as many people as I can. I normally come for the cookies, but lately I’ve been trying more things. Trust me, everything here is PHENOMENAL! I read some of the other reviews & saw some people leaving negative comments about the service. Every interaction I have had with the workers (and owner) has been great. The owner is funny, sweet, & quite frankly a genius. How she came up with such beautiful recipes is mind blowing!! Thanks for always providing amazing sweets & even better service. 🫶🏽 *side note I’m currently eating a unicorn bait in bed lol*
Christopher P — Google review
The fudgiest brownie I have ever had. Best Bakery I’ve reviewed so far. The depth and ingenuity of their flavors is one of a kind. The staff is patient and conscientious of dietary restrictions. The cookies are chewy and slightly crisp. I had the gooey butter cookie, the party brownie, and a coffee toffee chcolate chip. All were divine.
Farwa H — Google review
We've been coming to Fluff for over 10 years, starting when they were in the previous location. Everything we've ever had there has been incredible, but the couch potato cookie is by far the best cookie I've ever eaten in my life. It has the perfect amount of chewiness and the textures and flavors are just AMAZING! We live around 45 minutes away, but we will go out of our way to stop in for cookies. The unicorn bait and bacon fat ginger snap are other favorites, but you can't go wrong with any of the options. The owner is delightful, and every staff member is friendly and helpful.
Maggie S — Google review
When I go somewhere to get a sweet treat it’s because I want a little extra joy in my day. Today was my second time at Fluff Bake Bar and most likely my last. Both times I visited I was greeted with cold stares and an uninviting atmosphere. The treats are okay but nothing to write home about, basic flavors & bland cookies. As a customer I want to feel welcomed and respected where I spend my money, but here I felt rushed and unappreciated.
Peter — Google review
They might have good dessert but it’s perhaps the most uninviting dessert shop I have ever been to. The owner of this place comes accross very cold and aloof. I feel like an inconveneince as soon as I walk in, all the 3 times I have been to this place. One time could be attributed to having a bad day which is fine, but 3/3 times seems like a cultural workplace issue. Sticking to Red Dessert Dive from now on.
Abby B — Google review
Fluff is our favorite bakery in Houston! Everything on their menu from the baked goods to the homemade ice cream to the Saturday morning breakfast specials are so yummy and keeps us coming back for more! Great place for coffee and cookies. Bourbon pecan pie on chocolate was delicious. You can sit and enjoy. The owner was there and she's a very nice person. We had the recommendation from Eat like a local TV show and worth it to come. Recommended

Love Croissants is a hidden gem in a big city, offering the best croissants made with fancy French butter from Burgundy and Normandy. The bakery shares space with Weights + Measures and offers an impressive selection of croissants, including Butter Croissant, Pain Au Chocolat, Toasted Almond & Cardamom, and Blueberry and Lime Tart.
This place is truly a hidden gem in Houston! The croissants are absolutely amazing – perfectly flaky, buttery, and baked to perfection. What really sets them apart is the incredible mix of flavors in each croissant. Every bite feels unique, with creative combinations that balance sweetness and richness in the most delightful way. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into every pastry. If you’re in Houston and love croissants, this is a must-visit spot!

Love Croissants has been on my list as a local foodie for quite a while. And I finally got to try them out this weekend. Not only are the staff extremely welcoming and open to questions, they really put heart into their work, which are displayed into their handling. Throughout the store, there are even pictures of the staff and their families to add to the homey touches. I haven’t even gotten to the seemingly religious experience of the bites themselves. I came in with my mindset ready to order 4 croissants. I was so enthused with their detailed work, that I walked out with 7 of them. On my first bite, each individual layer of dough made itself known with a beautiful accompanying crisp sound. Please, let me fawn over their attention to each layer. The Ella was one that truly knocked my socks off, actually recommended by the staff. The turkey and goat cheese croissant hit the right notes of texture and flavor. But hands-down, the star of the show was the classic butter, croissant—where there’s no competition to the layers themselves. Just crisp layers, butter, and love. Did I come back the next day? … did you read the review? Of course, I did. I always expect season 2 to be a bit of a downer than the first season. They lived up to my experience of the first season.

It was a cute little place with outside seating. The food was very expensive for what it was, but I could tell that they used quality ingredients. The Ham and Asiago croissant was packed with ham, unfortunately, it tasted pretty basic. On the display, there was an empty pastry case, and that was because once someone ordered the Apple Crumble, they'd add the vanilla pastry cream, apple, and crumble then and there. That was something I've never seen, and it was nice that they serve is so fresh. The workers were very friendly.

Popped into this little bakery on my way to Sesh and had the most delicious muffin ever. The young lady who helped me with my order was very kind and accommodating. I can't wait to go back to try out the other sweet and savory baked goods on their menu!
Y. T — Google review
This pastry is truly delightful! You can really taste the rich butter in the croissant, which makes it so tasty. The combination of cream lime with guava jam and lemon zest is just fantastic—wow!
Cristina O — Google review
I knew I was hungry, but I didn’t know I was about to have a borderline spiritual experience. This turkey and goat cheese croissant didn’t just satisfy a craving—it rewired my taste buds. First off, the croissant: impossibly flaky, golden, and buttery with that slight crunch on the outside that gives way to soft, airy layers inside. Already a win. Then comes the filling. The turkey? Juicy, flavorful, and carved—not sliced—so it felt substantial and rich. But the real game-changer? The goat cheese. Tangy, creamy, and just funky enough to make every bite interesting. It melted into the warm croissant like it was always meant to be there, wrapping the savory turkey in this velvety, slightly tart embrace. Every bite was balanced—rich but not heavy, indulgent but somehow still fresh. The goat cheese elevated it to something that felt both comforting and gourmet. Final verdict: This isn’t just a croissant. It’s a masterpiece wrapped in pastry. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would eat again immediately. Would fight someone for the last one.

This is the bakery I’ve always wanted but never knew I needed until today. I showed up on a lazy Sunday, and this croissant really took my day to the next level. The staff was incredibly friendly and patient as I asked questions about half the menu, they provided helpful recommendations on how best to enjoy the food, and overall created such a positive environment that I’ll be sure to return again and again. On top of that, this was genuinely the best croissant I’ve ever had. Crispy and flaky on the outside with a soft buttery core, filled with a tender flavorful piece of turkey and a rich herbaceous goat cheese. Truly I was blown away, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit and the chance to try more of their menu.

Koffeteria, located in East Downtown Houston, is a must-visit Cambodian-influenced bakery owned by pastry chef Vanarin Kuch. The cafe is renowned for its inventive pastries like Pho Kolache, French Onion Danishes, and Pistachio Baklava Croissants. Additionally, the rotating selection of unique ice cream flavors such as Salted Egg Yolk and Coffee with Ginger are a hit among visitors.
Great coffee and sweet treats. Beautiful facility very clean with friendly staff. We ordered chai latte and Cold coffee with ham croissant and baklava roll which is to die for and a must try.

Great location to spend time with friends and family and enjoy some summer rays 🥵 They offer indoor and outdoor seating, so there’s ample options. When I visited I tried the tiger uppercut (Thai tea + espresso) and the Chinese sausage taco. I wasn’t super impressed with the uppercut, as it was sweet but watered down. Playing around with the ratio and strength of both the tea and espresso might help. As for the taco, I can’t say enough about it! It was the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. I’ll definitely get that again next time, and experiment more with different coffee options.

Delicious pastries, especially the pistachio baklava croissant and banana bread mochi. My complaints are that the prices are high and the mochi sticks to the wrapper. Maybe no wrapper? While the prices are high, everything I had tasted good. The lamination isn’t spectacular but it’s decent. Everything is super flavorful. Unlike most pastry places where you get crispy dough and no flavor, i felt like I got good flavor in the first bite of everything. I also had a Make Ya Halo and the coconut flavor was lacking. If anything, the oat milk and coffee took over. Customer service was excellent, so I’d go back. It’s hard to find good food AND good customer service. Again, the prices are what would deter me from coming back more often. Pictured: Pistachio Baklava Croissant, Banana Bread Mochi, Chicken Laap Danish, Peach Lemongrass and Almond Danish.

Food was great! Had a baklava cheesecake dish and a Dr Pepper iced coffee. My wife had the London fog croissant, my friend had the Ube snickerdoodle. Everything tasted amazing, especially the baklava cheesecake

Came for a coffee and a bite to eat on a Saturday morning. The salty Cambodian coffee with the sugary London Fog pastry… 😩👏🏼 the pho beef kolache was so tasty too. Someone mentioned a popular mango pastry but it was sold out by then. Will be back to try more!

It’s a James Beard award winner for a reason. The selection of pastries is wide ranging from savory to sweet with Very interesting combinations. The location was kind of off when you’re driving through but once you’re there it’s pretty good and secluded. They do have back patio seating which was a good touch. The pastries were amazing, the pistachio baklava was a great dessert I just loved the creation. Overall I would definitely recommend anyone to give this place a try you will not be disappointed. Service was excellent.

Adorable cafe with good vibes and excellent pastries. Ranked from most favorite to less favorite but still good: Chicken laap danish - would eat once a week Cambodian elote cornbread- nice seasoning Mango sticky rice danish Pistachio baklava croissant We also had a latte and a salty Cambodian, love a salty coffee. I would go back here anytime I’m visiting Houston. So good. East to find parking in the neighborhood. Was very tempted to get the calamansi tart but no belly space was left.

Very nice little spot to go to. The ambiance was nice quiet and calming. Seems like a good study spot Salty Cambodian 9/10: the condensed milk was pretty good and had a nice mellow after taste flavor . Ham and cheese croissant -9/10 : light fluffy cheesy, could be warmer but very good Tamalwich:10/10 super interesting flavor with the soufflé and egg . Bakery
Badolina Bakery & Cafe is a delightful fusion of Israeli baking and Houston's vibrant culinary scene. Founded by the team behind Doris Metropolitan and Hamsa, this charming bakery in Rice Village offers a unique selection of pastries inspired by traditional Israeli flavors. From shakshuka focaccia to pistachio baklava croissants, each item reflects the owners' childhood memories in Israel.
If you like your cafe latte a little more robust like they serve in Europe, then this is the place for you! Great coffee flavor. I had their “Sunburst “ pastry, which is stuffed with eggplant and tahini. It was very good, although could have done with a little less dough. Love the Rice Village atmosphere on their patio!
Neil T — Google review
This is such a cozy spot. An employee from Vuori recommended I visit because I did not plan on going to Starbucks for something to drink, I’m so grateful for her recommendation as well as the amazing lavender matcha on recommendation from one of the baristas that worked there. The staff seems very friendly and the location was a bit difficult to find with the trees covering signage in the front, but I’d say that adds to the effect this spot would be great on a sunny day in spring. I tried three different cookies, white chocolate macadamia, which was really good. The chocolate chip I’d say it was all right, but the walnut pecan one was absolutely my favorite. There were so many different options. It was hard to choose so I definitely had to stick with a safe choice and get cookies. But overall, this would be a great place to study at.

A Little Slice of Heaven in Rice Village! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Badolina Bakery & Cafe is an absolute gem, and I can't recommend it enough! Their Rice Village location is perfect, offering a wonderful atmosphere that's both bustling and cozy. Every visit has been a delight, thanks to their consistently friendly staff who always make you feel welcome. And the food? Oh, the food! Everything I've tried has been delicious, but the croissants are truly out of this world – flaky, buttery perfection that melts in your mouth. The shakshuka sandwich is another standout; it's a unique and incredibly flavorful option that I crave regularly. Whether you're looking for a quick coffee and pastry or a more substantial meal, Badolina delivers. It's quickly become one of my favorite spots in Houston!

Badolina is a charming little corner for lovers of sweets and comforting breakfasts! From the moment you enter, the aroma of freshly baked cakes and coffee envelops you, making it impossible not to smile. Their selection of sweets is a delight: from fluffy cupcakes with super cute decorations to crispy cookies and desserts that look like small works of art. Everything shows that it is made with love and quality ingredients. Breakfasts are not far behind. They have options for all tastes: from classic chilaquiles with a homemade touch to golden waffles with fresh fruits and honey. The portions are generous, perfect to start the day with energy or to share in a quiet morning. In addition, the atmosphere is cozy, ideal to go with friends, family or even to work for a while while enjoying a coffee.

Wow! Now that was a great cup of coffee! The baked goods looked incredible, and you can tell it’s a local favorite because it fills up fast by 11 a.m. I’d definitely recommend going earlier if you’re craving some peace and serenity. So worth it; definitely a must-try spot!

Favorite bakery and they have my favorite cardamom buns which are so difficult to find in Texas, tasted just like the ones from Europe! Their coffee is good too and I tried a pistachio croissant which had real pistachio filling. Also everything is vegetarian which is a plus! Very aesthetic and cute patio

Cozy coffee shop with bakery. I had quiche with squash and sweet potatoes and pistachio cheesecake both very good. Place is pretty small and noisy.

Small cozy cafe with a few indoor and outdoor seating. They have many delicious sweets at a decent price. Their almond raspberry and pistachio croissants are the best. The only downside is they run out fast throughout the day. Happy hour starts 1 hour before closing so you can get most goods for half off.

Wedding cake was beautiful! Guests raved at how delicious it was. The white cake, raspberry center and cream cheese icing was a perfect pairing. Thank you Moeller’s, our family has trusted you for over 35 years and you never disappoint.

This was by far the most delicious and beautiful cake ever!!! The cake itself was moist and delicious, not too overly sweet. The icing was absolutely to die for!! My boyfriend got me this cake from them for my birthday, and everybody was raving about it! We added some of our own decorations ontop of it, but it turned out absolutely beautiful! Will definitely be using them for other celebrations in the future :)

This place is really cute, but the cupcakes were not good for me; icing was too sweet and the cake was pretty normal. I paid $12.50 for four very average cupcakes and I wasn’t crazy about them.

This place is fantastic. I know my family has been using this Bakery since the 1960's and onward. Everything here is freshly prepared, using old family recipes and it is well priced. You gotta pay attention on your way there or you will pass right by it. I like the white cake, the chocolate is good too but the white cake just has a perfect taste to it. If I ever get married, my wedding cake HAS to come from here. I carry on the family tradition by getting birthday cakes and holiday treats from here. Stop in and get a treat, you'll be glad you did!

Sunday Press is a popular coffee shop in Houston known for its high-quality ingredients and excellent coffee. The establishment offers a drive-thru option for those who prefer to stay in their cars. The menu includes delicious options such as beet and goat cheese toast, morning glory, and honey lavender latte. In addition to great food and drinks, the ambiance is pleasant with ample greenery. Customers appreciate the comfortable seating at Sunday Press, which sets it apart from other coffee shops in the area.
Came to this place for the first time to attend an Open Mic Poetry Night Event, this place is AMAZING! I have nothing but great things to say! The atmosphere was great, the drinks were great, the staff members were BEYOND great with their level of service, and event itself was great too! I will definitely be coming here more often because the menu looks incredible. This is the perfect kind of place for hosting events, for date nights, to meet up with friends, to study or do work, or even come though by yourself to simply soak in the positive energy and vibes. Swing by if you ever get a chance, you’ll know what I mean when you’re there. You’re welcome 😏

Sunday Press is a stylish and spacious cafe in Garden Oaks with a vibe that transports you to a different decade. The retro-modern interior is beautiful, and the private parking lot (plus a drive-through) makes it super convenient. I recently visited with my wife and 15-month-old son, and we appreciated the family-friendly setup, including high chairs. Coffee-wise, I ordered a cappuccino ($4.75), which was good. For lunch, I tried the Tomato Basil Soup with grilled cheese ($16). The soup was excellent—rich and comforting—but the grilled cheese left something to be desired. It wasn’t cut for easy dipping, the bread was unevenly toasted, and the texture was a bit hard in places. The cheese itself was solid, but I expected better quality. I’d love to see them cut their grilled cheese diagonally and use a better bread. We also got a Lemon Blueberry Loaf ($5.75) for our son, and I ended up sneaking a bite—it was amazing. Moist, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. Their pastry case is full of tempting options, and everything looked fresh and high quality. Still, Sunday Press stands out with its broad menu of food, pastries, and now cocktails thanks to their Sunday Social bar addition. With co-owners Cassie Ghaffar and Sandy Nguyen also behind Saigon Hustle next door, it’s clear this spot is part of a growing local scene. I’d definitely return to try more.

I ordered the Mediterranean Greens Bowl to go....I recommend looking at the food before you leave....I got all the way home to my apartment in a high-rise 15 mins awaybefore I pulled my food out of the bag...the picture says it all. The manager was very kind & refunded the money. Probably won't order that again. May not go there anymore. UPDATE: I ordered my husband the turkey melt, he didn't want to say anything because mine was so bad but the greens were wilt edam barely any turkey!! It looked terrible. DO NOT EAT LUNCH HERE. I've had the breakfast in the past and it was fine, but I will never waste my time and money or be embarrassed by their lunch again. Sorely disappointed.
Rebecca M — Google review
Sunday Press quickly became a favorite after I tried their croissant swirls to go—absolutely loved them! I came back excited to try their savory brunch options, but unfortunately, they missed the mark. The croissant sandwich looked amazing but tasted bland, and the croissant itself felt a bit stale. I also tried the eggs Benedict, and it was a letdown—the hollandaise sauce was watery and lacked flavor. Thankfully, the chocolate croissant swirl was still as good as ever. Stick to the pastries here; savory options were disappointing.
Vevolt S — Google review
First, the online ordering system failed—I had already paid for my order, but when I arrived for pickup, they had no record of it. Second, when I finally received my order, the matcha was sour and barely had any actual matcha in it. Third, my wrap was soggy and watery, which was super unappetizing. And lastly, the staff was extremely disrespectful and unhelpful throughout the whole situation. This used to be one of my favorite spots, but it’s really gone downhill since they added the bar. I hope they turn things around, because it’s disappointing to see such a once-great place decline like this.

Food was tasty, fresh and front counter staff were nice. I had the chicken and waffles while my partner enjoyed a chicken salad sandwich. Both items were good, I'd say the only miss for me were the overnight oats - they were too dry and lumpy. Seemed like whoever packed it didn't use enough milk. Would still return since the service and food was good - also they have a bar if that's something you enjoy. Cheers!

Got the Vanilla Chia Seed pudding with fruit and granola because it was a buy one get one. $10+ for both. First time ordering from here. It's good, but nothing I can't make at home and typically do. Had a gotten this without the BOGO deal and paid full price, I would never have gone back. Very limited portion for $10+ a serving!!!! I'm actually hesitant to try anything else due to the price of this is the amount you'll receive. Overall, the chia seed pudding is tasty, but not extraordinary, and definitely not worth the expense. Hence the 3 stars. I guess everything is more expensive and smaller quantities these days. I'll go back to making it myself at home.

Nestled in the heart of Crumbville, TX, this charming bakery is a haven for those with a sweet tooth, especially if you lean towards plant-based delights. Specializing in an array of vegan treats like cookies, brownies, and their signature stuffed cups—think cupcakes filled with delicious surprises—Crumbville offers an inviting atmosphere where baked goods line the walls. The giant ginger snap cookies are a must-try, held together by luscious icing that makes them irresistible.
Do yourself a favor, run ... don't walk to Crumbville! You won't regret it and if you run you will actually earn the dessert! :) I have wanted to try Crumbville for a while now, but never seem to find myself in that area. Yesterday, I had a hankering for a cupcake, and it was rainy so I had zero interest in going anywhere. I found that Crumbville is on the Favor app, so I figured, why now? I ordered the Blueberries & Cream Cheesecake cupcake. Wow, it was liking having a blueberry muffin, with loads of blueberries, and icing on top. It was so good!! I also ordered the Strawberries & Cream Cheesecake, Vanilla Peachy-cob-a-licious and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Snicker Crunch. All of the cupcakes are just so fresh and tasty. They are literally the best I have ever had. I fully plan on stopping in sometime to check out the location. I hear the service is amazing, and I cannot wait to find out!

Stopped in the other day and grabbed a bunch of sweet treats! I was fortunate to meet the owner and she was so warm and welcoming! She explained all the various treats and offerings. The layout is pretty straightforward so you shouldn’t get confused. She also has merch and vinyls ☺️☺️ Ok but the tests. I ordered two cupcakes, 3 cookies (2 cookies in a pack) and a brookie. Everything was amazingly fresh and flavorful. Honestly none of it was overly sweet either. You won’t go wrong with anything you decide to choose!!! 10 out of 10 I recommend

We stumbled upon this little gem while working. We tried the blueberry- a very good cupcake with layers of graham cracker crust and cheesecake. In my opinion the cupcake doesn’t even need the cheesecake because the blueberry top and icing are straight heaven. The key-lime cookie was amazing. Crunchy outside thick chewy inside. The pistachio flavor makes this cookie sing. My favorite, however, was the vegan banana walnut chocolate chip cupcake. This was SO good. It takes the flavor of banana bread to the next level! I can’t wait to try some more!

The Original Kolache Shoppe, located in South Houston, has been a staple since 1956. This family-owned bakery is renowned for its traditional Czech pastries and savory sausage klobasniky rolls. The shop's third-generation owner, Kevin Dowd, continues the legacy of crafting these delectable treats using a family recipe.
My hubby went and picked a few items to try this morning, and they were incredible, so fresh, warm, and delicious. He grabbed the sausage jalapeño kolache, and there was jalapeños in every bite, and the dough was perfect. He also picked up the chicken fajita kolache, and it was very savory and cheese definitely recommend. My favorite treat, tho was the cheese Danish it had sugar sprinkled on the bread, and I can't stop thinking about that taste and supper soft texture. We also got some lattes, and surprisingly, they were delicious and strong, not watered down like some establishments have them.

Their early morning opening time is super convenient! The kolache are absolutely fantastic and worth trying out! They savory ones are very good and the dessert ones were a little less sweet than what I'm used to for pastries but I still enjoyed them. The silent hero on the menu might be the pecan sand tarts though. Definitely try those if you visit.

Sausage and cheese kolaches(klobaniskys)were ok, sausage was good quality but the bread were blown out on the bottom, had a giant hole. Had the fruit turnovers and they were ok too. 16$ for 4 items, wasn’t worth they hype for me.

Visited for the first time on Friday 8/29/25 @7:30am. We ordered a couple croissants, a kolache and a few other items along with some coffee. The pastries were excellent. The coffee was terrible. The lady making the drinks that day seemed like she didn't want to be there and you could tell by the drinks she was making because the drinks we received were trash. If you're visiting, stick to the pastries because that's what this place is known for. As for the coffee, you can get better coffee across the street at McDonald's. Anyhow, I'll definitely be back for the food.

The staff, food, coffee are all amazon here! Be prepared to stand in line on a busy day, but it's worth it. If it's packed, wait it out. These are the best dang kolaches in the city. The parking lot can be tough on weekend but it's with it if you can find a good spot or street parking. I don't recommend parking at the nearby hotel, but street parking is free.

I had the beef fajita and sausage and cheese kolache. Literally the best kolache I’ve ever had. The beef fajita was fave be sure to give that one a try for sure! Parking was tough as the place is pretty busy and there are limited spaces. I also ordered an iced Carmel latte which was pretty good. The Staff was friendly 12/27 We had the cherry danish and apple turnover. I enjoy them both.

I had an impeccable breakfast experience at The Original Kolache Shoppe. The moment I walked in, the inviting aroma of freshly baked pastries enveloped me. Their kolaches are a perfect blend of soft, fluffy dough and flavorful fillings. I tried the classic sausage and cheese, as well as the sweet cream cheese kolache – both were exceptional. The staff was friendly and efficient, adding to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The coffee was rich and paired perfectly with the pastries. For a delightful, satisfying start to the day, The Original Kolache Shoppe is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!💖🥐☕🤍💞

So I usually only come here for other people but today celebrating my cancer anniversary I decided to see if they had a cheesecake got the cherry toppings and I do not regret it. So the best cheesecake that I've tasted came from this restaurant but They lost their touch however this place seems like they never dropped the ball period my mom loves their chocolate cake and my ex loves their red velvet cookies but their cheesecake it's out of this world!! omfg I will be back!!
Mira G — Google review
We finally gave Dessert Gallery a try and ordered two slices of cake: lemon blueberry and red velvet. Unfortunately, neither really impressed us. The flavors were just okay — not bad, but nothing memorable either. We've definitely had better elsewhere. We were also expecting a more inviting atmosphere. The interior felt underwhelming and lacked the charm or elegance we thought it might have. Overall, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. It was an okay visit, but not one we’re in a hurry to repeat.
Bella C — Google review
The cake was mid, and cookies were nothing special 😭 I don’t understand the hype. I ordered the strawberry crunch cake there was nothing crunchy about it, and it kind of had fridge taste to the icing, and extremely sweet. The cake balls were good, but how can you possibly mess those up? Not worth the $$ we spent $22 on 2 cookies, cake ball and a cake. We only got a free cookie because they told us that snickerdoodle sold out I guess they had 1 left over and still put it in with our order, thank you for that. Unfortunately, it wasn’t anything special that will make me want to come here again! I’d rather order from Tiff Treats and receive fresh warm cookies, they never disappoint.

I was really excited to try this place but was sadly disappointed after. The billionaire brownie was not as described in my opinion. The brownie had hardly any pecans, no gold flakes, and had this unpleasant ganache/jelly on top. The pecan cake was a bit dry and tasted like maple syrup. The strawberry cup cake was a little dry, had good flavor, but was very sweet. My boyfriend liked the banana pudding and said the oatmeal cookie was ok. The price we paid for everything was not worth it!

Place is great for people looking for vegan and gluten free desserts. Plenty of options. Their brownies are one of my favorite. Staff are really friendly. Wish they open a location in Katy too.

I'd taken someone out for their birthday, and we went here for dessert. We both love cheesecake, and this place came up with in a search of "cheesecake near me." We both had a slice of New York style cheesecake with strawberry topping, and it was truly outstanding! The slice was a 'proper size', the texture was as perfect as I've had, and the flavor what spot-on. Everything a slice of cheesecake should be. I will certainly be back!

Visited tonight on our weekend getaway from Round Rock, TX. A wonderful stop for your sweet tooth, especially late night!! Lots of folks, but service was quick and staff were friendly. I had a lemon bar and my son got the Rocky Road Sheet Cake! We each shared a bite and both were delicious! Would highly recommend!

Croissant-Brioche is a charming bakery located in Rice Village, offering a delightful selection of French-style baked goods and breads. The bakery has garnered praise for its authentic and generously portioned croissants that strike the perfect balance between buttery and flakey. Additionally, patrons can enjoy the option to fill their croissants with an array of sweet or savory ingredients.
Drove by and saw many people here so I came in with my mom for an early Saturday breakfast. Did not disappoint, this is the cutest corner cafe in Rice Village. We tried their ham and cheese croissant and chocolate croissant - so delicious. Their chai latte was the perfect balance of sweet and spice. Can see why it is a beloved bakery here in the neighborhood. Now that it's on my radar, I will definitely be stopping by more often!

Delicious! The people who work here are so nice, they made me morning! Also, the size of their large cappuccino is really generous, but more importantly the coffee is really delicious! I also got the baked bread and pastries to go, and they were so nice to offer to keep the pastries in the fridge for me while I was having cuppa coffee there. This is European experience and hospitality for me. Definitely gonna come back. Thank you guys!!

Great French café with great food and an authentic old-world atmosphere. Feels just like sitting on a sidewalk in Europe. The coffee and sandwiches, made with fresh-baked bread, are excellent. The French onion soup tasted homemade, and the quiche was baked to perfection. On my first visit, I heard five different languages being spoken—it truly feels like a little slice of Europe. I’ve been coming back ever since.

Best almond croissant I've ever had in my life. Flakey and delicious with almond filling between the layers and shaved almonds on top. Husband said the same about his chocolate one, saying he thought it was higher quality chocolate. A bit of a squeeze walking around inside since the tables or close together. Very friendly person at the register who seemed happy to answer our questions.

Such an adorable cafe with its old-time charm!🥰 perhaps because of its location at the Rice village, its vibe is comparable to some cafe at Princeton or Georgetown, cozy and quietly relaxing and subtly intellectually stimulating by its NYT and WSJ newspapers in a basket☺️ Love its humble setting, unlike another big chain cafe or coffee shop’s atmosphere!!!👍👍👍☕️🍰🥐

We stopped in from out of town. The smell that engulfs you when you walk in is nothing short of heavenly. It’s so comforting. The fresh bread, soup, & pastries wake up every sense you have. Everything looks beautiful & well maintained. The seating can be a tiny bit crowded but does feel authentic. The servers were very sweet. I ordered the Milky Way & it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had, no lie. We also ordered an eclair at the advice of the people in line with us, it seems to be a customer favorite. It was really good. I also ordered a pecan danish & while I do think it would taste better warmed, it was still really pleasant. My boyfriend got the raspberry tart & has still been raving about it 3 days later. Everything was fresh & made in house as well. Would definitely recommend & revisit in the future.

After multiple visits to Croissant Brioche It's time for my review. The service is always good. The atmosphere is delightful. The sandwiches 🥪 and dessert 😋 are amazing. The french 🥖 baguette is absolutely delicious. At 10 am to be in a waiting line of 6 customers deep doesn't surprise me. The freshness and quality ingredients that they use in preparing foods comes through in every bite and sip. Try a cream puff! Update: I've made it back to the Houston area after five years. I drove 12 miles from where I'm staying to visit one of my favorite spots, but was disappointed that I couldn't get my favorite cream puff. I had an eclair and a latte, and both were great. Unfortunately, the customer service has gone downhill. I've never felt so rushed or been treated so poorly. The employee was pushy and rude. Good riddance.

Flo Paris is a charming French cafe known for its fresh-baked treats and light fare. Visitors rave about the Mille-feuille, which is said to be one of the best in Houston, reminiscent of the ones found in Paris. The bakery's interior design and desserts have charmed many, making it a popular spot for Instagram-worthy photos. Despite running out of some menu items at times, such as the salmon salad, Flo Paris impresses with its generous portions and friendly service.
My savory crepe was delicious. I upscaled my side salad to a Greek with homemade lemon & dill dressing. Lovely lady (Samar, I believe) took my order. I had the strawberry tart, yummy, I tried to save 1/2 for later but had to eat it all in 1 sitting. I will go back. Grateful to find this little gem.

I really wanted to love this place and chose it for my birthday brunch after seeing it on Instagram—I’m a big fan of crepes! Unfortunately, our recent visit didn’t quite meet expectations. As we entered, there was a strong, musty odor inside that was hard to ignore. The walkway leading in also had a noticeable smell, which may be due to the area being exposed to the elements or surrounding foot traffic. On the positive side, there’s plenty of parking, the space is quiet with lots of seating, and the staff was polite. My husband and I both ordered crepes—I had the Nutella banana, and he went with a savory salmon one. While mine was okay, part of it had a hint of savory flavor, which may have been from shared cooking utensils. Overall, while the food was decent and the service kind, the overall atmosphere made it hard to fully enjoy our visit. I hope to return another time under better conditions, as the place has a lot of potential.

A quiet bakery cafe. Order and pay at counter, plenty of open tables. Self-service water and utensils. Bakeries/desserts are better than lunch offering. Like the cheesecake (not too sweet), was disappointed in the crepe - The ingredients are fresh, though taste better apart than composed inside the crepe. Our request for sandwich ingredient customization at ordering was not followed. Staffs don’t seem to communicate well. Wrong cake was also brought out. Pricing on the expensive side for the size and quality of food. It is a cute spot, owners must have put lots of hearts / thoughts when opening this, I hope they will fix the taste and operation.

Really nice spot with lots of seating and parking. The restaurant is clean with ample seating inside and outside. They sell a good mix of pastries and breakfast items. I really enjoyed the quiche and the side salad. The croissant was good but could have been warmer. Overall good food.

I really enjoy Flo Paris. I’m not really the type of person to go out of my way to bakeries. I just don’t have a big sweet tooth. That being said, I’ve found myself at Flo Paris a few times. Typically, I’ve only ordered a coffee or other drink there but the last time I was there, I decided to try some of the baked goods. I was not disappointed at all. Everything was delightful and very delicious. It is sweet for sure but occasionally I will partake in the sweetness. On this particular trip, I tried the Opera, which is a chocolate bar of deliciousness. The strawberry cream puff, which is a creamy crumbly fruit covered cloud of sweetness and a berry covered cheesecake that was exceptionally well made and tasted great. I also ordered a matcha latte that was not bad. I like my matcha a little in the stronger side so I find myself becoming more critical on matcha lattes but this one was decent and presented very well. The great part about Flo Paris is the service and ambience. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with a smile and the staff is very helpful in ordering. There’s always a soft hum of conversation in the air as people enjoy a sweet treat and sip on a drink in this lovely decorated and quaint cafe.

Beautiful place, great menu, and delicious food! We fell in love with this place! They have enough vegetarian options, creative dishes (fig and brie sandwich was amazing) coffee and a wide crepe selection (savory and sweet) can’t wait to try everything here! It’s in a shopping center on a busy part of town but they have a patio and relaxing music which I loved. The decor is nice and the staff wasn’t as bad as other reviews mentioned. Disappointed. I ordered a Hello Kitty heart-shaped cake a week in advance for my daughter’s birthday. During the ordering process, I was told the cake would cost extra due to the heart shape, which I agreed to. We discussed the size, shape, and design in detail. However, when I arrived to pick it up on the day of the party, I was extremely disappointed to find that the cake did not resemble a heart at all. I was shocked that they would present the cake as ‘acceptable’ in that condition. When I raised my concern, I was told the shape couldn’t be clearly defined because it was a smaller 10” cake. If that was the case, it should have been clearly communicated at the time of ordering. not at pickup when it’s too late to make other arrangements. I had also asked for “Happy Birthday” to be written on top with a small Hello Kitty image at the bottom. Instead, they said the text didn’t fit on the top and had to place it around the base, which wasn’t what I envisioned. What frustrated me most was that I paid extra for a heart shape and didn’t receive it. They offered to redo the borders in an hour, but I was already on a tight schedule and far from the party and didn’t have time to wait. I asked for a discount and was only offered $15 off. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to accept it and move on sadly, my daughter was left to take birthday pictures with a deformed/undefined cake. The only saving grace was that the cake and frosting did taste good, but overall, I was very unhappy with the service and how the situation was handled. For future customers, I would advise clear communication and setting realistic expectations, especially when you’re charging extra for a specific custom shape.

Three Brothers Bakery is a cherished family-owned establishment that has been delighting taste buds since 1949. Located in Houston, this bakery is renowned for its custom cakes and delectable pecan pies, alongside an impressive selection of Jewish baked goods like rugelach and challah.
Update**I recently had an issue with a king cake I purchased, but I was pleasantly surprised when the regional manager contacted me to address my concerns. They offered to replace the stale king cake with a fresh one, which I truly appreciated. The arrangement for pickup was smooth, and once again, the staff was extra friendly and accommodating. Their excellent customer service turned my experience around completely. I’m excited to enjoy the fresh king cake and look forward to my next visit! I visited Three Brothers Bakery today and purchased a king cake, hoping for a delightful treat. Unfortunately, it was hard, cold, and tasted stale, as if it had been made days ago rather than fresh today. I was quite disappointed, given the bakery's reputation. On a positive note, the staff was very nice and helpful, which is why I’m giving it two stars instead of one.

8/10/24: I wanted to try the Strawberry Cake Slice but it looked like the customer service team were too busy to acknowledge my presence so I might come back another day when they’re not so busy. The 2 stars instead of 1 is because the cake looked good from a distance. 8/12/24: I was warmly greeted as I was looking at the cake I wanted and the representative was very accommodating in providing a positive customer service experience. My cake and cinnamon roll tasted very good. Overall a better visit than a couple of days ago.

My friend ordered me a birthday cake- one person. They charged him $65. I called immediately and asked for a single later cake. They bumped the price down to $40. The manager could barely communicate on the phone. She couldn’t find my cake. Then, she couldn’t confirm the refund…She literally yelled at me on the phone when I asked her to slow down and enunciate because I could not understand her. She continued the rudeness when I picked up the cake. I noticed a single layer cake for $25 in the case in the bakery. Clearly, we were over sold. Ripped off. My friend clearly stated he was ordering a cake for one person. The cake looked pretty, but tasted just like a grocery store sugary sweet cake. Take your business elsewhere! A bakery should literally be a warm and inviting place where people feel welcome.

They make a tasty no sugar added cheese cake and we picked a slice up today. My wife has great willpower and usually takes one bite, which means I don't have to share much of it. Yes, it's that good. They make great coffee drinks. We imbibed in a couple of the these and a pound of dark roast Costa Rican coffee beans. I hope they start making a few keto goodies. Stopped in for a slice of no sugar added cheese cake and remembered they make a pretty good coffee drink. My wife got an iced mocha coffee, a cup full of gingerbread button cookies, and a bag of whole bean medium dark roast for me. I went with a hot cappuccino with 2 splendas and a full of sugar cookie that looked too good to pass up.
Thc P — Google review
We went here because they are next to Burger Bodega. The shop is really nice and the food looks amazing. However, I got the red velvet cupcake, and it tasted no different than a box of cake mix in terms of texture and fluffiness. Maybe the vanilla would have been better. Although the price is fair considering the sheer size of the cupcake and the craftsmanship. I will try them again, so maybe I will be able to update this review.

I have been at this location multiple times, and it's always been delicious. But I made a mistake by ordering a large cake. La Madeleine is a charming French café chain that transports you straight to the heart of the French countryside, even if you're just in Houston. With its rustic country fare and delightful espresso, this eatery offers a cozy ambiance perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal or coffee break. Picture yourself seated on their inviting patio under an awning, savoring house specialties like tomato basil soup and Chicken Friand while indulging in freshly baked baguettes and exquisite pastries.
Came for breakfast, the place was packed but the service was good! Food and coffee were delish!

Pretty weird customer service, language is an issue and coffee and pastry is very underwhelming! Would not recommend! The worst part is they claim to have French cultural food but that’s not at all true, just made up recipe with Mexican vibe!
Cosmic I — Google review
I bought a Napoleon pastry from this La Madeleine location on Monday evening, and it was a very disappointing experience. The pastry was not fresh at all — the top layer was hard and rubbery, almost like plastic, and the rest was completely smashed and soggy. It looked and tasted like something that had been left out for too long. I expected a Napoleon to be crispy, light, and creamy, but this one was the opposite. I called the store the next day to explain what happened. The manager told me that if I wanted a refund, I would have to bring the receipt and come back to the location in person. I found that response unhelpful and disappointing. Instead of offering a sincere apology or even a small store credit for the inconvenience, I was asked to make another trip just to get my money back for something that should never have been sold in the first place. It’s very frustrating to buy a dessert at the end of the day and realize they are selling items that should have been thrown away. I hope the management improves their quality control and shows more respect for their customers’ time and experience.

Food has changed a lot from how it used to be. Cleanliness is definitely questionable. And the service was slow and pretty bad. They messed up our order, even after we confirmed it a few times. Our food also had a piece of ham on it, in the kids' fruit salad. The only highlight of our visit was the coconut cake and chocolate sacher.
Zainab K — Google review
Unfortunately, today's review won't be good. I've been to La Madeleine before, and my previous visits have been very good. I found out from a friend that they had remodeled it, and I decided to come for breakfast. I was served by the manager, Jackie, who took my order at the register, and I truly felt humiliated. She assumed I didn't know why I didn't speak English. Maybe because I look Latina, she shouldn't assume anything. I speak perfect English, so I told her. She continued trying to say a few words in Spanish. What I felt wasn't pleasant. Aside from that bad experience, I ordered my breakfast, and it was cold inside. Of course, I returned it and asked for a refund because I was no longer hungry. As a manager, she should have refunded the entire ticket, but she only returned my food. As a food service worker, I was trained differently. Aside from the apology I received, she should have refunded the entire bill. Based on my experience today, I'm giving it less than one star. That doesn't mean it's always like this, but they should review some things in management.

Nice place to have snacks. We love their snack and dessert section. They have a nice vegetarian option too. Love the atmosphere. So warm and french like vibe. I wish they would include what ingredients they have to see if they are using any alcohol in it. That is why i rarely come here now. Customer service is very weird. While you think to select what snack or dessert to choose from the cashier has a stone face which has an unwelcoming look. Food is ok. Not anything special.

Enjoyed a delightful breakfast date at Sweet Paris, a crepe place suggested by my wife. Initially hesitant due to my dislike for sweet breakfast items, she assured me they have savory options which convinced me to give it a try. And I'm glad I did! The Cali crepe was delicious and the house coffee complemented it perfectly. My wife's waffle was also excellent. The Dijon vinaigrette salad provided a refreshing burst of flavors.
I love, love, LOVE this place. The apple cinnamon crepe has to be my all-time favorite when coming here. The short line moved super fast, easy to read through the menu, and lots to choose from, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. My wife treated me here the other day after a long work week, and it really feels like a small slice of France when you walk in. We live farther away now, but it was worth the drive. This place is kid friendly, has sweet and savory options, and is perfect for families, dates, or just to get out and treat yourself.

We love Sweet Paris, specially this location. The food & service are always great but what I like the most about it is that it’s always very clean & the staff always have neat uniforms & hair covers. Today, I tried the Mayan Chocolate & it was amazing! My daughter tried the Caprese Panini & she loved it. I love that they added the tables outside, on the other side. We wanted to sit there but they just laid mulch & it smelled really bad

This place was perfect. I was really happy with my food. I ordered the chicken carbonara and a latte. The food was delicious, and the serving size on the crepe surprised me. It was huge and definitely enough food to fill you up. It was creamy and chickeny while also having a flaky dough taste. It was definitely comfort food YET it didn't make you feel like you were going to bust after eating it (like some comfort foods). The coffee was good as well. I don't think I'd come for the coffee alone but it was good. If you're ordering a dessert crepe the coffee would pair perfectly. Its just sweet enough without being super sugary. I got the coffee with my meal because I needed coffee 🤣 so of course it was a different experience. BUT I will definitely come back and try a desert crepe and coffee. The ambience of the place was perfect. I loved it. Not a lot of seating and a bit cramped inside, but additional tables outside on both sides of the restaurant. Staff were also very friendly. Would recommend!

Went for breakfast and the food lacked seasoning. Maybe it was for the best as it was probably healthier but this is something I’d never crave or order again. Also, we were charged $1 for butter and jelly for the toast.

I wanted to share a couple of thoughts: 1. I truly appreciate the two workers who make the crepes—they’re incredibly fast. That said, I did notice they don’t change their gloves between different types of crepes. While I completely understand it’s not practical to change gloves after every single order, it might be worth considering switching gloves when handling very different ingredients—like meats (chicken, salmon, or bacon) versus sweet items (like Nutella and fruits). I did request a glove change for my order, and they were very understanding about it. I’m just curious if others have brought this up as well, as I imagine I’m not the only one who prefers not to have sweet and savory flavors unintentionally mixed. My bigger concern is actually about the pricing. When a free Nutella crepe is offered and I ask to add strawberries and bananas, I would expect to be charged only the difference in cost between the basic crepe and the additional toppings. However, I noticed that on the app and the menu, the price is listed as $11.75, but the receipt has it for $12.50. I'm not sure why there's a discrepancy, but it does make me feel a bit uneasy, I’d appreciate some clarity on how the pricing works, especially in these kinds of promotional situations.

Food was great, we had orange juice for the drink we expected it to be fresh squeezed but it was just box orange juice so, unless you like that kind of juice I don't recommend you to go for that option. The crèpes were really good, we had the Le Mexican and Croque Madame, place is nice, costumer service was good as well. We did sit outside since the weather was nice. Went for brunch

Crepes are mediocre- not like Paris at all. Tried the chèvre salad I thought in my mind it’ll be melted piece of chèvre on it. Instead it’s dried and crumbled cheese. The to go box was styrofoam that basically a carcinogen and poison. Service was good.

Nestled in the charming Heights neighborhood of Houston, Red Dessert Dive is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. This cozy spot offers an innovative twist on classic baked goods, featuring a rotating menu that includes everything from salted caramel brownies to decadent whiskey walnut pies. The owner, Jessica, prides herself on using high-quality ingredients to create fresh confections daily. Whether you're craving Fat Elvis cupcakes or seasonal cheesecakes, there's something for every sweet tooth here.
A Hidden Gem for Coffee & Scones Lovers – Red Dessert Dive I visited Red Dessert Dive today for the first time, and that’s all it took to place it firmly among my favorite spots for coffee and pastries. Nestled in the heart of the Heights on Studewood St., this cozy little café is a true gem. I ordered a stout Americano and a nitro cold brew with oat milk—both were outstanding! The Americano, made with beans from Little Dreamer Coffee Roasters, had a rich, full-bodied flavor that was perfect for slow sipping and good conversation. I also tried one of their Blondie Bars, which was wonderfully balanced—sweet but not overpowering. My companion instantly fell in love with the nitro cold brew; it was smooth, creamy, and deeply satisfying. The staff were kind and happy to answer all my questions about their coffee beans and house-made teas. Yes, they make their own tea blends under the name Camellia Tea, which I plan to explore on my next visit. Their tea selection sounds promising, with offerings like English Breakfast (Keemun), Coconut Dreams (black tea with coconut and lemongrass), Chai Latte, and Matcha. The space itself is small and inviting, with just enough parking for its size—a bonus in this area. While I hope I get the chance to return often, I know the place’s popularity might make that tricky! In short, Red Dessert Dive is an excellent spot for high-quality coffee, delightful treats, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Highly recommended for both coffee and tea lovers.

Red Dessert Dive offers guests freshly baked goods at a reasonable price. Most of the baked goods are sweet with the one savory item a kolache (could have been because of when we visited - mid-morning. The roasted pecan coffee was enjoyable as were the chocolate croissant and the vanilla bean scone. There is indoor seating. Go in and check out the cookies, cupcakes, croissants, cakes and other baked goods available at Red Dessert Dive. Highly recommend.

Red Dessert Dive has been one of our go-to bakeries for a long time. We love getting coffee and pastries/cupcakes on the weekends. Red did our wedding cake this last week and they did an amazing job. From working with the order manager to their delivery we couldn’t have been more satisfied. Everyone keeps talking about how great the cake looked AND tasted!!

This was my first time visiting this charming little place. Right from the outside you can tell you’re in for a treat. The mural, bright red door, it just all has such a beautiful, chic aesthetic that carries all the way through the inside, too. The employee who helped me was very nice and made a wonderful latte for me. I tried the butterscotch s’mores bar and it was so decadent. I could only have a few bites and took the rest home lol. I loved this place and can’t wait to go back, and take other people there, too!

Houston we have a problem. I decided to try this dessert shop while I was in the Heights area. It was so good I ended up going there four times in one week and I live an hour away from this place. Everytime I went I try a new dessert each time like the banana pudding, strawberry short cake, cookies and cupcakes. Victoria was the sweetest person and she explained about the history of this place plus offered great recommendations.

We got our order via Doordash. The salted caramel pretzel was divine! Light, not cloying, not soggy, and enough to share. As a bookish girlie, I so want to go in for one of their book events and try something else!

Such a wonderful dessert bar and the ambiance is spectacular along with the delicious desserts. I’ve tried the bread pudding twice now it’s rated my favorite but today I had the turtle cheesecake thinking that’s my favorite now!! Oh and the Hot Chocolate was great for this cold windy day 🎄I brought one home for hubby too!

Nestled within the stunning Museum of Fine Arts complex, Le Jardinier is a polished dining destination that elevates French cuisine to new heights. This sophisticated restaurant, part of the esteemed Le Jardinier group with locations in New York City and Miami, showcases an inventive menu crafted by Michelin-starred chef Alain Verzeroli. With a focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, vegetables take center stage in beautifully composed dishes that are both artful and delectable.
Excellent experience dining at LJ for Houston Restaurant Week 2025. My Mother & I, both dined in for their lunch menu. The food was plated beautifully as you can see, the flavor was even better. Service was outstanding, I can’t remember a moment that went by; where my mom and I were in need of something. I would definitely make reservations to come back again for the dinner menu. I can see why this restaurant has a Michelin star.. hopefully two come soon!

Our 11th Anniversary. What an exceptional experience. The attention to detail in the plating, presentation, hospitality, and steps of service were impeccable. Literally everyone understood their assignment. So here’s the deal, there is valet, and its ran through the Museum. Unfortunately, within 5 minutes of arriving, the valet damaged our brand new car. And I dont mean a door ding or tiny scratch. Its gonna be expensive to repair. Fortunately, the valet took full responsibility and will be paying for the repair. I dont bring this up as a knock against the restaurant, because theyre not affiliated. I say this because this dining experience was so magical, that in that moment, time stopped, and we were able to forget the mishap upon arrival, and never stopped smiling and enjoying every dish from the tasting menu. At times we literally giggled from one element in the current dish to the next. Every table got the same level of care, and attention. This is what they do. Everyone that stopped by our table to do their part in the process cared about what they were doing, and it shows. Our server Diana was a rock star, ask for her! Management was present from start to finish and everyone made sure our anniversary was a moment to remember. We definitely look forward to visiting again! Update: I was having trouble getting the process for repairing our new car started. Getting the appropriate people on the phone was seemingly impossible. The General Manager of Le Jardinier assisted me in this also. THIS is hospitality yall. Wow. To the team at Le Jardinier MFA Houston, thank you!

First time visiting this place and would definitely go back! initially, we were going due to the three course meal that they had, but we eventually ended up going with the five course meal and the best decision we ever made. To be fair service was a little iffy, when we were sat we got drinks and then forgotten about for 20 minutes. We ordered once our server came back to the table and after that it was great! i loved the wait in between courses since it made us hungry all over again and able to enjoy the next course without feeling stuffed! i would say the dessert was disappointing the pistachio ice cream was very sweet and the cherry pastry was extremely tart, it didn’t pair well in my opinion. I left kind of sad due to the dessert since the steak was the best dish over all i was expecting the dessert to go way and beyond but it just didn’t for me.

Couldn’t be more thankful for Tia and Melody making the experience so much more memorable and meaningful. Will be coming back to bring my family!

Everything was incredible. Food was outstanding! Every dish was thoughtful and curated. We recently visited Japan and there was definitely some dishes that felt Japanese inspired- in the level of execution, components of each dish, and how harmonious each plate was in not only flavor but presentation. However, the real star of our dinner was our server, Diana. We have eaten all over the world, and Diana provided one of the most exceptional services ever. She was so patient with my indecisive personality, she was thorough and clear in explaining each dish, and helped us make the perfect choices for our dinner. Her recommendations from cocktails, appetizers, entrees, to dessert were excellent. Thank you! Will be back for summer menu!

Really had a great Sunday brunch here. Started with friendly hostess who transitioned seamlessly to a fantastic server. The food, however, was the real star. Tried the burrata appetizer and it was so incredibly fresh, we both loved it. Then the Sake marinated fried chicken over polenta that was so juicy and flavorful ! Also enjoyed the branzino with the crisp skin and moist fish. excellent. Ended with the seasonal peach tart - a sweet, refreshing dessert perfect for our summer brunch.

Café Poêtes is a charming French cafe in Houston's Midtown, founded by Karine Favre-Massartic who missed the iconic Parisian cafes after moving to Houston. The cafe is inspired by The Orangerie de Bagatelle in Paris and features a book-lined dining room filled with light. Guests can savor perfectly brewed café au lait, croissants, and beautiful eclairs while enjoying high tea served in delicate china teacups and saucers.
We went there today for the first time. As a French, I tend to be super picky about these "French" places that are popping all over Houston. This one is really awesome! The food menu is creative and really tempting, we tried two tartines (prosciutto and avocado) and they were both delicious. Pretty large portions so the price/quantity ratio is good too. We tried the brie quiche and that was special because it reminded me exactly of the taste of home food. The decoration of the place is a bit too French for me hahaha but it is pleasant and my American friend loved it. Service has to be mentioned as well: both waiters and the couple that owns the place were all very attentive and spent time at all tables to make sure everyone was satisfied. Excellent service that reminds me of French hospitality and attention to details. TL;DR: Cool place, good food, go there already.

Absolutely delightful café in Midtown that exudes the essence of France! Precious decor, rustic furniture, charming cutlery/dishes, and a large full book shelf! My fiancé and I met 3 of our family members here around noon on a Friday - we had the entire café to ourselves actually! We tried a couple food items from the La Carte lunch/brunch menu: - The savory chicken “eclair salé” ($14) - marinated chicken + herbs/lemon/balsamic served on a choux pastry bun. It came with a mixed green salad. DELISH! - Beet & goat cheese ($14) mixed green salad with caramelized pecans and balsamic dressing - also yummy! For drinks, we tried the: - Butterfly Mimosa ($9) - gorgeous purple color cocktail: champagne, lemonade & sweet pea infusion - Fleur de Poêtes ($12, would say the price point could drop down to $9 like the other cocktails) - champagne, elderberry, sparkling water, lemon FYI from 2:30-4:30pm daily, afternoon tea with a set menu is served and is *reservation only* at $36 per person. We met who we believed was the owner - quintessentially fabulously French! The waitress we had was also super sweet. I will say it took quite some time for the food and drinks to come out, so I would plan on relaxing / not being in a rush when you come! Would love to come back to try some of the delicious-sounding brunch, dinner and pastry items!

I've been to Poetes twice recently and really enjoy the place. Their atmosphere feels very French - from the food to decor to service. I've had several tarts, eclairs, breakfast items and beverages. The quality of all the food is great; fresh and flavorful. My favorite item I've had is the avocado and egg sandwich. I'll say that I'm a little disappointed by the desserts, maybe my palette is unrefined/American, but I prefer Epicure Cafe or even Le Madeline. Also, the place is on the more expensive side. However, I do recommend Cafe Poetes and will be going back (as soon as I get someone to cover my bill).

Finally Houston has a French cafe that offers delicious dishes with style ! Beautiful inside out and very attentative staff taking care of you all the time. I loved their croissant, quiche and lavender pistachio choux was heavenly ! A must try!
Efi T — Google review
Cafe Poetes is a quaint, charming Parisian café that has been thoughtfully crafted from the decor, furniture, ambience, and menu. As a French cuisine lover, there's nothing better than a well executed eclair with the perfect flakiness of the choux balanced by the savory filling of mushrooms, ham, and gruyere. We also tried the beet gazpacho which seems a bit too thick to be considered a soup, but the mingling flavors of the beets, tomatoes, balsamic, and goat cheese were classically delicious. One thing I will note is that we went at the end of September and the Spring menu had not been updated so there were multiple things on the menu that were not available like the traditional quiche Lorraine, which was disappointing. Other than that, I can't wait to come back to try their Afternoon Tea!
Annie F — Google review
What a great experience that reminds me of an authentic Parisian cafe! The story that the owner tells is that everything in the cafe was imported from France: dishes, silverware, bar top, takes, chairs, and even the tiles on the floor! Very friendly staff and great atmosphere!

The coffee: The cortado is okay. It's pretty creamy and milky and bland. It has fruity notes which is a nice change of pace since most places kind of pass that point and go right to being too beany. Overall, it just left me wanting since the flavors were not as bold as I would like. They also serve wine and some sweet and savory eclairs. The service: Also a bit average when I was there, but it is a new place. There didn't seem to be good coordination between the person taking orders and the person making the drinks and serving. We were told that we would just be under the same name since we were at the same table. That makes sense. When the server came out with my drink, she picked up our little name card and asked if we were waiting on anything. Our response was yes since we were waiting on the second drink that was supposed to be on the same name. She then said something like no that's under another name, ran over to the register to check, and then said it's coming, and then she just walked off. It wasn't a bad interaction per se, but it could have been handled better in my opinion. It was a very lackluster experience, but, again, this is a pretty new place. They were friendly enough. The shop: It is very cute. It achieved the French vibe it was going for from before you even walk in, with music playing outside and the sort of cafe style outdoor seating. The inside had a very clean, organized clutter kind of feel. There are also lots of books to read and fresh flowers decorating the place. I think the greatest achievement of this place is the atmosphere it creates, which is pretty unique in the Houston coffeeshop scene. There's also parking which is a big plus in this area. The bottom line: It's a great place, especially if you don't want to be bothered with a lot of young people. It has a bit of a more sophisticated feel with decent enough coffee. Being in my twenties, I may wait a while to come back.

Rosie Cannonball in Houston offers a to-go booze setup with cocktail packs that include everything needed to make your drink of choice, along with food options like Lambrusco meatballs and roasted eggplant. The restaurant features an open kitchen with a woodburning grill and a menu that covers various trends, including vegetables, hearty salads, pasta dishes like buckwheat ravioli, grilled whole fish, cacio e pepe pizza, and steak.
Have not been in a while and found out quickly, that was a mistake. We had the beet salad for an appetizer and the Lamb Ragu and Pork Chop for mains with the roasted carrots and Zucchini for sides. Just incredible. Rafa, our waiter was amazing and the sommelier helped us pick out an amazing Italian red. Will be on our regular rotation now.

We came here because they made BG on the guide. The designation didn’t align with the value we received. The food was good, but nothing stood out. If you’re searching for an elevated experience that will exceed your expectations for the value, go elsewhere. Our server also seemed disinterested, but was efficient. Ambiance was average. Had to send the Lamb Ragù back because neither of us liked it. Other dishes were slightly off but still had good flavor and we enjoyed them. I wouldn’t return.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance and beautiful decoration. The service is very good. The food is good, but there is still room for improvement. We ordered two pasta dishes, but both were a little overcooked. The pizza had great seasoning and toppings, but the crust was slightly burnt and could use a little more fermentation. However, we loved the appetizers we ordered — asparagus, and watermelon with burrata salad. They had rich and interesting flavors with amazing textures.

Delicious restaurant and a must visit in the Montrose area. Stopped by on a Sunday where they offer a great deal of half off wine bottles. Ordered a bunch of plates to share and each one was better than the last. Pasta and pizza were our favorites as well as the cheesecake dessert. I only wish I had the room for more desserts.

Good lord this place is amazing. We started with the focaccia, which is not what I would consider a typical fluffy focaccia but it is full of delicious goodies and covered in some amazing honey concoction. Heirloom tomato salad is refreshing and light, you will be scraping the sauce up with whatever is left of your bread course. Next we had a cacio e pepe pizza, which is obviously incredible. Their pizza dough is amazing and you will want to eat every bite. Finished it all off with the basque cheesecake, which they bake in the pizza oven and finish with an orange marmalade - you will dream about this for days. Take my advice and make this place your next date night or family dinner, whatever just go.

Really cute spot with excellent food and drinks. Dirty martinis with castelvetrano olives is a massive green flag for me; I could’ve had like 10 of these drinks. As a ranch fiend, I found the ranch to be PHENOMENAL. Food came quickly and our server Dylan was happy to describe and recommend anything on the menu as well as make food modifications for my coworker who does not eat pork. Took a shot in the dark and asked if they had Malört and they did which was the luxardo cherry on top of my evening. Would happily come back again.

Always a good experience, ate here multiple times and I was never disappointed. This is obviously a pizza forward place, it’s their best offering. Oh, service is also excellent, all the servers, hosts, bartenders are always friendly and helpful.

(Approaching VPN authenticity...sorta) Ya know? I kinda had trepidation, reviewing the menu tonight. And I just defaulted to the Farm Salad. Turns out, I really liked it. From the brown butter crunchy breadcrumbs to the watermelon radishes and the vinaigrette. I would order it again. Probably would enjoy having it at the bar. Two of our party ordered pizze. Two kinds. I had a taste. I liked. Texture more Neopolitan VPN. Good flavor profile. I think they are doing the pizzeria quite well here. Photo is after we dived into the food. If you plan for dessert , I would recommend skipping the honey cake, and the espresso chocolate mousse and defaulting to the Basque style cheesecake. A random rumination: people like me, who love to cook, are often content to stay home , trying new recipes. I mean, I can make a perfect salad. I don't need to dine out to have one. So for dining out is a whole, social experience. An opportunity to be with friends over dinner. So when a restaurant is really noisy, well, a key component of dining out, conversation over food, gets thrown out the window. So tonight, I had to lean into our other five table guests in order to hear and participate in the table conversation. I've been to several places this month and have been surprised by the noise level.

Coming from a macaron lover, these are by far one of the best macarons I've ever had. The shells are just perfect!!! They are not crunchy like others when you bite the shells break apart and falls. My husband and myself have been searching for the best macaroons these past few weeks. After we tasted our very first macaroon at a place near our home, the love began of our macaroon sweet tooth. We searched for various places, purchased various ones, and loved them. Today I was so excited I was already on buffalo speedway for an appointment and seen BITE was a two minute drive away. Mind you this was one we searched and read, it was top ten in Houston!! I happily marched in and told the women behind the counter, our story of the best macaroons in Houston! I purchased two dozen (a total of 58 dollars, tax and tip included) She told me she hoped they were good. Which I was kind of weirded out by. Like YOU WORK HERE. Wouldn't you already know??? I got home opened the beautiful black box (which might I add....she shoved in quickly and bunched the box on the end. Okay who cares, maybe she was in her head a bit. But if I'm paying for a 60 dollar box of macaroons I figure you can be a bit more precise. But I digress...) I got home, opened the box and looked at the beautifully colored inside, grabbed one and tasted it. My husband did this aswell. I'm really not sure if I came on a bad day or what. But these things didn't taste good at all. A cpl of them made my stomach turn. I ate two and then I decided maybe I got the bad flavored ones. So I bit a cpl more just to taste. They Have the worst after taste. I was so excited but I'm Now I'm just really disappointed. PS We even purchased some at our local grocery store, that were smaller in size and had better flavor. 🤢

The menu features kolaches with bratwurst, alongside freshly baked croissants in flavors like banana bread pudding and white chocolate rose.
Cute spot for a casual brunch. Plenty of parking in the plaza. We ordered at the counter and grabbed a table inside. They have a few outdoor seatings as well. The interior isn't too spacious. Love the vibrant decor here. Services were friendly and quick. They are known for their gourmet croissants so we tried the strawberry tres leches. Not too sweet and great texture on the croissant itself. I tried the sausage, egg, cheese sandwich. It was delish and pretty filling. The butterfly lemonade was very refreshing and had assorted fruits.

**Review for Egg Haus** I recently tried Egg Haus and had a fantastic experience. I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and it was spot on—perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The service was friendly and efficient, making for a great breakfast outing. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

As a tough critic, I was thoroughly impressed with the culinary prowess on display. Each bite was a testament to the care and creativity put into the menu. While my experience was near perfect, I did encounter a minor issue with the A/C leaking in a few spots. However, the staff was genuinely apologetic and quick to acknowledge the problem, which seemed like a rare occurrence. Their commitment to customer satisfaction was evident and appreciated. Despite this, I will definitely be visiting EggHaus again and encourage others to do the same. This place is a must-visit for anyone in Houston looking for a delightful breakfast or brunch experience!

Service was good, they are friendly . The places looks nice a lot of plants. I really like that. I need a little update because the seats look bad. Food is normally good but this las time I went the tacos were ok. Next time I’ll know sandwiches are way better. I really recommend the churro croissant, so delicious and I really enjoyed their horchata late.

Definitely recommend. The pretzel grilled cheese sandwich was my favorite but it was all good. The seasoning in the shredded chicken on the hangover sandwich is amazing. The blueberry clove lemonade was delicious. I will say that the cookies and cream croissant was a bit too rich for me, the cream filling was perfect and the croissant was wonderfully flaky but the chocolate dip was too much for me. I would have preferred just a chocolate drizzle, but if you like cookies and cream things and want sweet then I recommend it for you.

This was my first time here and I was so impressed. The BEAUTIFUL croissants and pastries- wow! The employees were very nice and accommodating. We had a bigger group so we found our way back to the other part of the restaurant where there was way more seating. I imagine it gets pretty busy in the evening - it looks like such a cool place. I can’t wait to go back when I’m in the area!

A fun place to grab breakfast or brunch. Expect to be served creative and fun takes on croissants that will be visually pleasing as well as totally Instagram worthy. The taco and burger options are uniquely different. We tried the hangover sandwich and steak sandwich. Well presented, literally loaded and dripping with deliciousness. A real treat! Fantastic flavors. The lemonade also delights with a fun variation of offered flavors, beautifully presented. A lot of thought has gone into executing a beautiful interior for dinners to enjoy. Colorful, vibrant with a relaxing organic vibe. Lot's of outdoor seating to enjoy when the weather is nice. No problems finding a parking, which is often challenging in the Heights!

Donut shop
Nestled at 2803 Old Spanish Trail, Le Donut is a charming neighborhood bakery that brings a taste of New York City to Houston with its famous Cronuts, created by Chef Dominique Ansel. This Vietnamese-owned gem offers these delightful pastries daily, ensuring locals can indulge without traveling far. While the regular-sized treats are delicious, the giant kolaches steal the show—packed with snappy sausage and jalapeño for an extra kick.
Holy cow!! IYKYK, but I guess you don't, which is why you're reading this. Let me tell you. Come here with an empty stomach, an expandable waistband, and lots of money. These folks are LEGIT. The bearclaw was the best I have ever had. The blueberry was so moist, and the kolache was supreme. Le Donut translates to THE donut, and that is correct. There are no others. Best game in town.

The owners are simply the nicest people I’ve ever met. The quality of donuts are superb. 3am to make the donuts is the right way and they just are better than any other donut shop I found. They have passion for what they do and I can’t wait to come back!!!!!! The glaze melts in your mouth.

My family has been coming here for years. The owners make you feel like part of the family. Kids love coming here and picking out a box of doughnuts. This place has been a hidden gem in Houston for at least 10 years.

Homey small business. Fair pricing for fresh handmade pastries. Sausage cheese kolache is amazing! Owner threw in some free donut holes too :) Thank you! Will definitely be coming back.

Love this place!! Been going here for over 15 yrs. They are super friendly! Their donuts are the BEST!! Absolutely love their cake glazed donuts: the red velvet cake donut is my favorite and the blueberry on is right behind it. Depending on how much you purchase they usually throw extra treats in. I looovvve this place!

Le Donut is a delightful morning miracle. The cronuts are divine—crispy, flaky, and addictively sweet—while the brisket kolache is savory genius. The staff’s generous spirit (hello, extra donut holes!) sets a warm tone before you’ve even set down your coffee. Every bite tastes freshly made, with flavors that lift your mood instantly. If doughy comfort had a gold-standard address, this would be it. Highly recommend for anyone in Houston.

Support the local community!!! This place is a good solid donut store. Food always consistently delicious. The nice ladies behind counter are very attentive. Sell both donuts and kolachies. Have a fridge with soft drinks and all flavors of milk so take your pick. Have fresh coffee too. Small dining area. Nice and clean. I will come back.

We recently moved out of town. Two years ago… I’m still missing Le Donut. Nuff said 😭 Now whenever I’m in town early enough to catch em open, it’s the first place I go to get their lovely wonderful absolutely stunningly delicious apple-filled bear-claws. It’s also the only place I know of that has apple-filled anything, that’s *actually* apple-filled and not apple scraps and a dash of sugar. Also the rest of the donuts are reeeally tasty! The cake donuts are savory, soft, and flavorful. The glazed donuts are OG level 💯 Service is *always* great. I often send my son in to get the donuts, and the aunty behind the counter is always smiling, happy, and kind no matter who walks in. (if you can’t tell by now I really like donuts, and I LOVE Le Donut!) Anyway, I’m a lifetime patron of this place. As long as they’re open, I’ll be showing up 😂 it’s the only donut place I go to. And I’m picky, very picky… so… Take my advice, it’s worth a stop in!

Located in Houston, We're-Dough is a popular spot founded by Mohamed Shaker and Mohamed Kachach, offering a variety of Levantine specialties such as manoush and kaak. The menu features traditional dishes like Kibbeh, Shawarma, and Falafel made with fresh and flavorful ingredients. Customers rave about the Zaatar Manakeesh for its crunchy yet soft texture and rich herb flavor. The extra spicy re-dough chicken sandwich with garlic sauce and fries is highly recommended.
I walked into a warm inviting atmosphere. The place was packed. I had never been here before but it's Christmas and I had nothing better to do. So I placed my order for my food, changed my devices on one of their many walk outlets for guest use, and hoped on to their free Internet for guests only. OMG... The wait was extremely worth it. The food was absolutely amazing to say the least. Tasty, juicy delicious. The small dining area was alive with the aroma of more deliciousness to come. The chatter of children playing added to the family like environment. I shall return to this extremely affordable and we'll run establishment. I am The Chosen One! ✨

Have been willing to try this for a long time and finally meant some people up for breakfast. We got the huge breakfast spread combo and it was awesome. We also got the cheesy kaak which was delicious and perfect crunchy gooey. Then we tried their special Lebanese Nescafe drink which was so tasty that we ordered a second round. Great drink. Hits the spot. The people there were very nice and the place got jam-packed by noon. People watching is fun.

I recently enjoyed some truly delightful and authentic Lebanese food that brought to mind the charming "screaming cheese" from Hotel Transylvania—it was simply wonderful! The flavors were so rich and comforting, lots of families. Parking is not great if it busy however And I must say, the Turkish coffee was strong and tasty.

Authentic Lebanese Delights in a Cozy Setting We’re-Dough Bakery offers an exceptional Lebanese dining experience in Houston. The ambiance is both modern and inviting, featuring sleek black velvet seating and gold accents that create a warm and stylish atmosphere. The staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and attentiveness, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests. Especially Kareem!! & Sabreen!! The menu boasts a variety of traditional Lebanese dishes, with standout items like the Akkawi cheese manoush and fluffy kaak. The kaak, a sesame-seed-coated bread filled with stretchy, slightly salty akkawi cheese, is particularly noteworthy. It’s best enjoyed fresh, straight from the oven, when the sesame seeds are crisp, and the cheese retains its delightful stretch

Came here based on a local food recommendation and this place was absolutley wonderful. I came here around a two months ago and ment to write a review and life got crazy. We had a variety of food from here and brought a bunch home. We tried the humas, shakshouka, a week a the fluffy kaak. We will be back again.

I visited after hearing so many good things about this place, and I was not disappointed. The food is delicious, prices are reasonable service is quick and friendly. They offer only indoor seating. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. I had the Man'oushe of labne and vegetables, and Turkish coffee. The place is casual. It is absolutely worth another visit

Visited We're Dough in Houston and I am officially obsessed 🤍✨ This Lebanese bakery delivers seriously fast service and the brightest, most welcoming vibe — feels like sunshine as soon as you walk in. The meat plate with labneh and fresh bread? My ultimate comfort food. Absolute perfection. It even took my mom back to her childhood weekend breakfasts in Kuwait — that’s how authentic and nostalgic the flavors are 🥹🫶🏼 Don’t miss the fluffy kaak with akawi cheese (pillowy heaven!) and the We're Dough chicken wrap, which is packed with melty cheese and pure deliciousness. Safe to say this spot has quickly become a favorite. If you haven’t been yet… run, don’t walk 🤤🔥

Nestled in the vibrant Asiatown area, Kamalan Bakery is a delightful haven for dessert lovers and cake enthusiasts alike. This charming bakery offers an impressive array of baked goods, from Taiwanese pork floss bread to delectable layer cakes adorned with fresh fruit and intricate icing. Visitors rave about their unique offerings, including taiyaki—an adorable fish-shaped treat filled with green tea ice cream or custard.
One of my Houston friends posted about this bakery on social media so I took note. This past weekend, we visited from San Antonio so I had to stop by to check it out. I bought some for my Dad, my husband and myself and some to share with neighbors and other family. I bought a custard bun, bacon cheese bun, pork sung bun, Danish BBQ bun, Danish coconut bun, several mango cream cheese, several coconut pineapple cake, small sausage bun and ham cheese bun. What I tried so far is so fresh and soft. There were other refrigerated items which I wished I could've brought home but next time. It's next to Jungle Cafe so go check it out!

This was the next establishment in our hunt to find the best Japanese Cheesecake in town. While it didn’t make the list for that category. The Mango cake was the star of the show today! It was so fluffy, with the perfect hint of sweetness, lite, and enjoyed by everyone. It didn’t last. Hehe While we had a little bit of a language barrier communicating. But we were able to get everything we were after without to much difficulty. Can’t wait to return to try more of their treats. Note: The establishment address pulls up being located in the rear of the business park. This is false, its located on the front, off to the left corner and easily missed. Then finding a spot to park will be your next difficulty. Not many spots available for all the business located in this corner section. Hope it helps. Until next time.

This bakery has really good birthday cakes and other pastries, such as bread, cookies, pies, and cakes. This is the only place where I want to buy birthday cakes, because their birthday cakes taste so delicious and are just perfect. They have many choices of birthday cake styles and sizes. The service is alright. The staff lacks interpersonal communication skills, such as greeting customers, and they don't seem that friendly to customers. If you want a delicious pastry or birthday cake, then I would highly recommend this bakery for you.

The mango birthday cake is so delicious, fantastic looking and fresh with reasonable price. But never order from a man, his attitude is so bad and rude. The lady is so nice.

My favorite item at this bakery are their egg tarts. It’s a smooth custard with a cookie like crust. Perfectly balanced and even better when warmed up. I came in on a weekday around 10am and the man working was stocking on his own. Though he was busy, he took his time to help me decide on what to get. The bakery items were still fresh on the rack! This place has always been my go to, definitely support this bakery.

May I just say, that all the items purchased here were exceptional. The cake was served to friends at dinner and they all agreed that the cake was outstanding. It was light, moist and not overly sweet. Please visit this location and try the array of incredible foods.

Stumbled onto this place while deciding what to eat at the Don Huang Plaza. Cute mom and pop small bakery that's neatly organized and clean. We got a few savory bread buns and weren't disappointed. The BBQ bread had way more meat filling than other places. Bread is mildly sweet like Hawaiian bread even with savory fillings. The cakes look amazing. Will be back for the taiyaki.

One of my favorite bakeries in Houston! The ladies are so nice and welcoming! The tarts are so delicious. I recommend all of their desserts but I think the best of all is the passion fruit tart! It’s not too sour or tart, it’s just right!

Super cozy spot with a relaxed vibe. We tried the Mont Blanc, Cream Puff, Eclairs, Apple Raisin Roll, Madelines, and Financiers. The pastries were fresh and not too sweet. My favorite was the apple raisin roll, it was delicious. They had some unique options so I definitely want to come back. The iced mocha was a great pick from the sweet lady behind the counter. 😊 Can’t wait to try their Japanese crepe next time!

This spot is truly a gem. I did not think I would be able to find a Japanese-owned, small business/pastry shop in Texas but we are lucky to have Chez Kobayashi Pastries in Houston! This store is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall so there is plenty of space for parking. The inside has a good number of seats and tables for customers to sit down and enjoy. There is also an area that has children’s books- in both Japanese and English! I was thrilled to see some of the books that I grew up with. The glass display showcases a variety of different pastries and sweets. There is also a separate menu above for sandwiches, crepes, and quiches! I was indecisive so I asked the owner for recommendations and she chose the Mont Blanc and Total Raspberry Tart. Both pastries were perfect- the tart has a raspberry cream on the bottom and the fruit was fresh and naturally sweet. Not to mention, the crust was absolutely delicious. The Mont Blanc was just as tasty. The chestnut puree, Chantilly cream, and crust were all *chef’s kiss* And the best part of it all is that the pastries were not too sweet (for those of you who are new to Asian pastries, they are meant to be lighter and not overly sweet)! While my friend and I were enjoying the pastries, I was able to have a brief conversation with the owner and she was incredibly welcoming and kind. Overall, I was thrilled to be able to finally try Chez Kobayashi Pastries and I can’t wait to come back and try their savory dishes! ごちそうさまでした🙇🏻‍♀️

If you're in Houston, make sure to stop by Lady M Cake Boutique at the Galleria for an exquisite dessert experience. This charming bakery is celebrated for its elegant cakes and delightful pastries, particularly their signature mille crepes that are as delicious as they are beautiful. The atmosphere is chic and inviting, perfect for enjoying a sweet treat or two. During my visit, I couldn't resist trying the Mont Blanc cake—a rich chestnut-flavored delight that's popular in Japan—and it did not disappoint!
Knew this place from the Galleria location. Saw this location is finally open, so decided to check it out. Place has a very nice dining area and living up to its name "boutique." Saw "Mont Blanc (chestnut-flavored cake)" and tried it; it's a popular cake in Japan. It was rich and flavorful. Didn't buy their mille crepes this visit but I bet they are excellent. They often have different seasonal flavors of them, sawand also have special cakes like Mont Blac too. It's a very good treat.

Very clean restaurant. Yummy crepe cakes and ice cream. Service was good but not amazing. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could, but the price of the cakes are a $$, so a 4 will do. Would come back again.

One of the best cake places in the state. I tried the first location in NY. Their cakes are amazing and super delicious. The customer service is good and quick. Swing by the place if you're around. A decent place to pick up cakes for special occasions. Their most popular flavor is green tea but today I tried the original flavor, super creamer and milky. Worth a try. This might be one of my favorite bakeries I’ve ever been to in my whole entire life. It’s a cute place with surprisingly a lot of high-quality options. They have unique drinks and pastry items. The service was amazing and quick. The bodega sandwich was good and had lots of flavor. The cinnamon roll latte was very good and not overly sweet. Bakery
Bouchée Patisserie is a Parisian-inspired confectionery located at The Post Oak Hotel in Houston. It offers traditional pastries and desserts with a modern twist, overseen by an award-winning pastry chef. The afternoon tea experience is carefully crafted and expertly made, priced at $60 per person. While some customers praised the quality of their croissants and late-night sweets, others found the customer service lacking and suggested improvements such as adding a pick-up area for quick visits.
It has become a stable patisserie for me and my family now. The cakes were pretty, and our love for matcha were fully appreciated here. The matcha latte was rich (both ice and hot), not sweet at all (this is a Plus, since we love to taste the matcha flavor with slightly bittersweet). The cakes tasted good too. The price was cheaper than we expected for the location, decoration, and cake design. Our staff was fantastic, she made us feel welcome and appreciated. I forgot to get her name. A lovely smile and friendly service was very great to start our day. Recommending park at the valet for $8.
U.N. T — Google review
This bakery has desserts that are so uniquely beautiful and delicious. The coffee is also good and has a variety of options. The decor also contributes to the overall experience and is lovely for any group/gathering. However, the one concern is the customer service. Upon ordering, I ordered three Turkey pastries and instead received three ham pastries that came out cold. They asked us if we wanted it warmed and we responded yes. 1). It would have been particularly bad if we don’t eat ham, since we did not notice it was not turkey until biting into it. 2). Biting into a savory pastry with meat that you are expecting to be warm is disappointing. The outside of the pastry was almost burned while the inside was cold. Then the coffees were delivered to the table, then after we all took a sip, the employee came out and just took my sisters coffee and then said “sorry gave you the wrong one”, then proceeded to give her a new coffee. The staff all look so confused and things did not flow well and not friendly at all. This was a Saturday and at the time there was not a line but still very slow service. This could have been a much better experience.
Trisha S — Google review
Beautiful place, but the experience was disappointing. The cafe was clearly understaffed — it took over 25 minutes to get our order, which is unacceptable for a place with premium pricing. What was even more surprising was being given plastic cutlery in such a fancy, upscale setting. For a patisserie that charges top dollar, real cutlery should be a basic standard. The atmosphere is nice, but sadly the service and details didn’t match the luxury image they’re going for.
Ramin — Google review
This place is incredibly cute. The employees are cheerful and easy-going, and there are so many nice options, especially for matcha or pistachio items. I’ve never taken this many pictures anywhere but there are so many different things! The matcha items have a delicate flavor, not super sweet or rich, and it’s more a flowery matcha than a bitter one (I like both kinds). The drink pictured is seasonal and has matcha with rose whip. They call this matcha pastry a “chou chou” and the berry filling really makes it! One downside is probably the parking; I took an Uber here but I imagine it would have been frustrating otherwise. Not the fault of the establishment as it’s part of the Post Oak Hotel. If I were staying here I would come here constantly, haha.
Natalie B — Google review
I ordered The Ruby, Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Royale, Chou Chou, and a lavender cappuccino. The Ruby – This was a beautiful bright red pastry that lived up to its name. I loved the tartness of the raspberry, which was bold and refreshing. The surprise in the middle (a firm chocolate mousse) paired perfectly with the fruit, creating a rich yet balanced bite. The flavors complemented each other so well that this one stood out as both striking in appearance and taste. Blueberry Cheesecake – This pastry felt whimsical, almost like something out of a magical cottage. The blueberry flavor leaned more toward jam than fresh fruit, which I enjoyed, though the cheesecake itself was more dominant. The biscuit base added a nice crunch against the otherwise smooth, creamy texture. A delicate purple chocolate flower and glossy plum glaze made it as enchanting to look at as it was to eat. Chocolate Royale – Unfortunately, this was the least memorable of the selection. It was mostly mousse with little else to break up the texture or flavor. Compared to the other pastries, it felt one-dimensional and a bit underwhelming. Chou Chou – My favorite. A light pistachio sponge cake wrapped in a crisp white chocolate shell, topped with a charming pink chocolate flower. It had the perfect texture, and presentation. I devoured it instantly but I would have liked more pistachio flavor. Lavender Cappuccino – I usually enjoy experimenting with flavored syrups, but this one missed the mark. The lavender was far too strong, overwhelming the coffee instead of complementing it. A lighter hand with the syrup would have made this much more enjoyable.

I read the reviews here beforehand and there were a bunch of negative reviews, though I came anyways because I was in the area. Unfortunately, the service was very slow and they did not have gelato when I came, which I was very excited to try. Other than that, the pastries are pretty but small.

I’m truly disappointed! This French pastry shop is proof that it doesn’t matter if you’re located inside the most prestigious hotel in the entire country—if your service is awful, people won’t want to come back. My daughter and I visited this pastry place. The pastries looked delicious, and since it’s located inside The Post Oak Hotel, we expected nothing but a great experience. The place is cute, with beautiful French-style furniture. You can access it from inside the hotel or from the outside. There is no self-parking; you have to valet. If they stamp your ticket, valet is $8. Everyone at The Post Oak was nice and attentive. Once we arrived at Bouchée Patisserie, there was a line—which gave us time to look at all the options: macarons, pastries, gelato, and gorgeous desserts. When it was finally our turn, the cashier was less than friendly. She seemed like she was just going through the motions. I didn’t think much of it. I placed my order, gave her my name, and patiently waited to be called. About 10 minutes passed—which felt like a bit too long, considering the desserts are ready to serve. When they finally called my name, my daughter went to pick up the order. The cashier told her the order was for “Sandra.” My daughter replied yes, and again the cashier said, “It’s for Sandra.” My daughter once again said yes, and then the cashier, with even more attitude, asked if all the pastries were for her. At that point, my daughter became upset and said, “Yes, Sandra is my mom and she’s seated. This is our order.” You’d expect the cashier to respond kindly, maybe say, “Oh, okay! Here you go—enjoy!” But no. Instead, she gave my daughter a look and just moved on to take the next customer’s order. When we opened the boxes, I realized she gave me the wrong pastry. I went back to let another employee know. She looked at the cashier, who—again, with attitude—said “Okay.” Then, the other employee just stood in place and started chatting with another employee in a suit, leaving me waiting awkwardly. After about 3–4 minutes of them talking, I asked if I could please get the correct pastry. She gave me a rude look, paused for another 30 seconds, and finally went to get it. It took her another 5 minutes to bring it out—even though the desserts are ready-made. She handed me the box and looked away with the same unpleasant attitude. By this point, I was completely dissatisfied and disappointed. My daughter and I were seated, talking about how terrible the service had been. The employee in the suit stood right next to us, overhearing everything while trying to assist another unhappy customer who also received the wrong order. In their case, they weren’t charged—but the employee never addressed or acknowledged our concerns. The pastries are good—but definitely the worst service I’ve ever received. Not worth dining in. You’re better off taking it home and avoiding the attitude.

If you love buttery, flaky croissants, the croissant class at Sur La Table is a must! The instructor was knowledgeable and engaging, breaking down the process into easy-to-follow steps. We learned how to laminate dough, shape different pastries, and bake them to golden perfection. The hands-on experience, plus the delicious results, made for a fantastic time. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to master the art of French pastries!

Earnesto was very patient, knowledgeable and friendly. The pastries were so amazing I can’t believe I was the one behind the counter making them. I love how everything was from scratch and we got to see the product start to finish. I will definitely be booking another class trying different foods. Thank you :)

I loved the cooking class with Chef D. She was funny, informative, and had a great playlist! She answered all the questions we had about what she was doing on the side to complete the meal- which came with a salad, side, main, & dessert! We left full, happy, and ready to rebook.

Ema is a popular spot with a relaxed and authentic vibe, offering modernized authentic dishes that are reminiscent of home cooking but with better ingredients and presentation. The chilaquiles, huarache, pastries, and coffee are highly recommended for their delicious flavors and high quality. The service is friendly and attentive, making it a great place for gatherings or casual visits. Customers have left impressed by the fantastic food and recommend trying out the various offerings at Ema.
CasaEma lived up to the hype! My family was impressed by the innovative pastries, dynamic dishes, creative menu, and quick kind service! We were nervous to see a long line, however the line moves quickly. They have an employee always monitoring the parties and line and reserving tables/seating to ensure that everyone has a place to sit once they place their orders. No wonder this place was recognized by Michelin! I was impressed by the food and included a few photos in this review. I also included photos of the fun atmosphere and line. If the line is as long as it is in my photos, then the wait is only 10-15 minutes. The only negative aspect was parking. Arrive early to find parking as you will need to either park across the street or park in the nearby neighborhood. Allocate 3-7 minutes for parking. I look forward to coming back soon!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Casa Ema. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting from the moment I walked in, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The dishes were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor and you can tell a lot of care and passion goes into the kitchen. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Houston.

Greatest pleasure is to visit a new city and start the day trying out a new restaurant and feeling like IT WAS MEANT TO BE. I’m Mexican so I’m very picky with “authentic Mexican restaurant,” this place felt like a huge warm hug to my heart. I wanted to eat all the pastries but I have gluten allergies so I could only let myself to tried one. It was worth it. If you’re a quiche afficionado like me, then you need to try it. Their coffee was also amazing.

I had seen this place on social media and it got me wanting to try it out. We had Suadero Chilaquiles, Huarache de Pollo, Flat White and Atole de Coco Cold Brew, and also some bakery items to go. Both dishes had good combination of ingredients and flavors. As for huarache, probably my first time to eat and its texture was chewier than I thought (compared to tamales). Coffee was good and so were bakery items. Service was friendly and wait time was reasonable (around 10:30am on Friday). There is a parking lot and Ema's spots are limited. I love "Masa" so I would like to come back.

We sat outside. Great energized vibes. The food is super tasty and delicious with nice performance. I had Tetela mushroom and chilaquiles with Cappuccino and Guava queso empanadas.service is good but very controlling . 😁
Sudabeh E — Google review
Food: I always get the chilaquiles here, which are probably the best I’ve had in town. I think the trick is their super thick-cut tortilla chips. Other places, the chips get soggy after a minute of being mixed with the other ingredients. Not Ema/Casaema. They remain crunch to the end. The chorizo, which is available only at the weekend, makes the dish too salty IMO, so I just go with the regular (shredded) brisket. Service: Excellent. There’s always a line but it move pretty fast. And they’re clearly prepared in the kitchen because the food comes out really quickly. Maybe 7 minutes for my chilaquiles. Downside: they are too aggressive about turnover - one time I was eating by myself outside, got halfway through and went in for maybe 2 minutes tops to get more water and returned to find they had already bussed my plate. Upside: I told the staff and they made me a new plate on the house. Atmosphere: The inside is way too loud. Can’t have a conversation. Outside is nice when the weather is good.

Been wanting to try CasaEma for a while and finally went for Breakfast on Sunday morning. We arrived around 8:15 and there was plenty of parking available and only one group ahead of us in line. Service was quick and efficient and there were lots of tables available even if some people were ignoring the sign that asked you to order before taking a seat. For breakfast we ordered the carrot taco, mushroom tetela, mole enchiladas and papaya salad. My go to breakfast is always greek yogurt with granola and berries so I was most excited to try the papaya salad. While I really enjoyed the homemade granola and the lime agave syrup, I found the flavor (or lack thereof) of the papaya to not add much to the dish. Really enjoyed the carrot taco and thought the mushroom tetela was fine. My husband said the mole enchiladas were pretty good. I also ordered the Cafe de Olla. I found it interesting that the only milks they offer are whole milk and oat milk. I enjoyed the complex flavor of my first sip but found the drink to be overall too cloying and sweet to have much more than a sip or two. Was happy to try this breakfast spot that seems to be on everyone’s list right now, but didn't enjoy any of the dishes so much that I would order them again if we came back.
Maggie J — Google review
Oh my GOD! This spot is magic - I’ve been so bored with croissants, and I loved the twist on Mexican desserts. The raspberry ricotta cheese donut and the horchata donut were to die for - paired with Café de Olla, I felt like I was in heaven. For breakfast, we had the carrot taco, which was delicious, but the surprising winner was the papaya salad - truly unforgettable. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

ECK Bakery is a modest bakery known for its delectable Chinese baked goods, particularly the renowned egg custard tarts. The establishment has garnered a strong reputation for its Hong Kong-style pastries, with patrons praising the flaky egg tart shells and the luscious custard filling. In addition to their signature egg tarts, ECK Bakery offers an array of other delightful pastries such as fried sesame red bean balls and Japanese cheesecake.
A friend recommended this spot for the egg tarts. While the egg tarts are good, the mango mochi is the star of the show in my opinion. It's filled with actual chunks of mango which is delicious. It is ready around 12 even though they open earlier. I also tried the wife cake. It was a little dry for me, but I liked the flavor of the filling. I was told it's cash only, but they accept card for a small fee.

First time coming to this place and try their eck tart! It was so fluffy and delicious!!! It was late afternoon and I’m sure it’s been out since they baked but that was still that good! We tried mochi and Japanese cheese cake and they were all good! Love to be back again! One thing I can point out is that Inside the store is not that inviting since it’s quite messy there with all kind of items. Other than that, it was good. Keep up the good work and service! :) Cheers 🥂

The egg tarts are SO GOOD! Super crispy with delicious custard. They have a ton of other amazing baked goods too. This is mainly a to-go place and there’s almost no seating.
Sarah — Google review
The egg tarts here are $2 each and absolutely delicious—crispy, flaky, and filled with a rich, aromatic custard. They are some of the best I’ve had and are definitely worth trying. Aside from egg tarts, the shop offers a variety of other items, including curry puffs and zongzi, giving you plenty of options to explore if you’re looking for something savory or unique. The shop itself is quite simple and unpretentious, focusing more on the food than the ambiance. Don’t expect a warm greeting or small talk, but the service is efficient. One thing to note is that they do accept card payments, but there’s a 2.5% processing fee, so it might be worth bringing cash if you want to avoid the extra charge. Overall, a great spot for anyone looking for tasty baked goods or snacks!

I would pay more for the old ECK egg tarts from around 10 years ago. They were big and had so much more custard. Like a mouth full of custard all the way until the last bite. Still good but I wouldn't go for a dozen anymore. The guy told me he *thinks* they're the same size. I'm positive they're not because the original ones left a strong impression on me that had me coming here just for dozens of egg tarts. If you're reading this, bring those back and take my money!!

The bakery is known for its traditional Viennoiserie as well as trendy modern croissants from cities like London and New York City. Customers have praised the flavorful, fluffy, and crispy croissants, with options like artichoke and feta or ham & cheese receiving high praise.
The croissants here are very fresh and delicious!!Today I ordered a strawberry croissant with french butter cream and a ham and cheese croissant. I like both very much. I also tried the ice grapefruit tea and Sicilian coffee in the store. Really good!!! I highly recommend this bakery. By the way, the owner of this bakery is a very cute lady. I like the atmosphere and decoration, a family-style coffee place, chill and relaxing. Croissant is sooo Yummy😻😻😻Highly recommend the butter cream flavor and very satisfied with the texture and crunchy feeling, perfect for desserts or breakfast. The lavender latte is okay. The Chocolate chunk biscuits are fresh soft and delicious. Overall their best is the Croissant! A Must try if you are in Katy area.

This is our favorite breakfast place hands down! The three "C" -- Croissants are home made and buttery and filled with yummy fillings, Caramel macchiato coffee was delicious and strong, and Cookies (red velvet) is our favorite. When the croissants are sold out, it's posted on their Facebook page to save you a trip going there for nothing. The almond and strawberry creme croissants are the best. The owners and staff are so nice and friendly as well. The atmosphere is quiet and not chaotic, so you can enjoy your coffee/breakfast.

You can tell the croissants 🥐were made with a lot of love!!!!! Super yummy 🤤 The cicillan coffee ☕️ is very unique, made with lemon juice and espresso. I had my doubts about it but it’s very different and delicious!

This place has been on my to-visit list for a while, and it did NOT disappoint. We tried 3 flavors: matcha strawberry, almond, and chocolate. Each one was delicious! Couldn’t pick a favorite. The matcha cream is fluffy and not too sweet, which allows that matcha flavor to shine through. The strawberry flavor came from powder made from freeze-dried strawberries and gave it a nice tart touch. I’ve had a lot of almond croissants, and this was one of the best I’ve ever had. I don’t like it when there’s too much almond cream filling and it ruins the flaky texture. This one had filling that was less creamy and more spread out, so you still got that delicious almond flavor without compromising the characteristic almond texture. Chocolate croissant was simple but still delicious. The chocolate drizzle was dark and flavor. On top of all this, the TEXTURE was top-tier. Crackly but not dry. Buttery on the inside. Super fluffy with tons of height and lamination. If I lived in Katy, I’d probably be here at least once week 😅

I happened to see this coffee place after lunch at The Chipper. I live near to downtown, but I would stop here again for the iced mocha; it was that good! You get the coffee and the chocolate flavors mixed perfectly. The butter croissant was soft and flaky.

Nestled in the charming Independence Heights neighborhood of northwest Houston, Artisana Bread is a delightful bakery that specializes in artisanal breads crafted with an organic touch. Renowned for their organic sourdoughs, many of which feature ancient wheat varieties like einkorn and spelt, these loaves are not only flavorful but also easier on those with gluten sensitivities.
I can't believe I slept on this place for so long. It was near my home, but a little out of the way for my usual routine, so it took me too long to try it out, but when I did... Not only had all of the food been excellent (I tried the peach and almond pastry today, which is one of my new favorites), but the owner and her other staff are incredibly friendly. I go there all the time now, especially because the carry out counter is dog friendly (she greets my pup by name now!)

This place is near an old commute route but had never made it here before. So many appealing items to choose from; it was hard to decide what to get. Got two butter croissants and a coffee frangippane croissant as well as a tropicana danish (it had pineapple & coconut). Want to come back and try more of their offerings. They live up to their name with hand-crafted quality bread. With we had found out about this place sooner (especially my wife, who loves French pastries) but we are glad to know about it now.

I purchased 1 baguette, 1 berry danish and 1 pastry of the week on Saturday. 2/3 of my items were fantastic especially the chorizo pastry of the week, the flavors were well balanced and the lamination was beautiful. The baguette was a disappointment, generally a baguette is crispier on the outside but this one was rock solid and really hard to chew even after dipping in soup, I tried to reheat it as well but that did not help. I paid almost 20$ for 3 items so I’d say the price was fair but I would expect better quality for all their items at that price point. Not sure if I’d come back but would recommend the danishes. ☺️

Artisana is hands-down one of my favorite places in town. I’ve been coming here for years, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The bread is nothing short of phenomenal—recently I picked up a loaf that was so perfectly made, it honestly felt like the definition of artisanal craftsmanship. Crisp crust, soft inside, and flavor that hits all the right notes. The staff up front are always super nice and welcoming. It’s just a good vibe all around. If you haven’t been to Artisana yet, you’re missing out. It’s a little slice of bakery heaven. All is done with much loaf ❤️

This is my favorite place to go for cupcakes. I love the variety of cupcake flavors and designs. I've tried almost every cupcake flavor, including the seasonal ones, and they were all scrumptious. I've been here multiple times over the years. The cupcakes are veryy sweet so be wary. I think some of the cupcakes are a bit dry such as the chocolate chip cookie dough and the coffee one, so I wouldn't recommend those. However I am a fan though of the red velvet and show me the chocolate, I think those are nice and moist. I'm thinking the darker cupcakes are always moist and the white ones are dry. Not sure though. Overall a very cute store and the employees always answer my questions. Worth a try!

Luxury Living at Its Finest! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Alexan Junction Heights, and I must say, this community exceeds expectations in every way! From the moment you step onto the property, you’re greeted with a modern yet inviting atmosphere that makes it feel like home. The standout feature is definitely the resort-style pool—absolutely stunning! The spacious deck, lounge chairs, and shaded cabanas make it the perfect place to relax or socialize with friends. The poolside fountains add a luxurious touch, making every swim feel like a mini vacation. The entire complex is thoughtfully designed, with elegant architecture and beautifully maintained landscaping. The apartments themselves are spacious, featuring high-end finishes, modern appliances, and plenty of natural light. Many units also offer private balconies, which provide a great spot to unwind after a long day. If you’re looking for an upscale apartment community that blends comfort, convenience, and luxury, Alexan Junction Heights is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend! One of the things that truly sets Alexan Junction Heights apart is the outstanding management team—especially Marcus and Ashley. Alexan Junction Heights Review: 2/5 Stars I lived here for 1.5 years and was one of the first residents when it opened. Honestly, the quality of the apartment was an immediate letdown—thin walls, messy paint jobs, and the vinyl floors didn’t feel high-end at all. You don’t see this when you’re touring because you’re so enamored with the views and new fixtures. Trust me. You’ll be hearing EVERYTHING outside while you’re inside. They also don’t enforce towing in the garage, so people park wherever they want, which gets annoying. I sent an email to the leasing office one time about this and heard radio silence. Not even an acknowledgement. For a place marketed as “luxury,” they also didn’t really live up to that. The leasing staff wasn’t very friendly or helpful either, and communication with residents was pretty minimal. I can count on one hand how many times the leasing agents greeted me and made eye contact when i would walk by them. There are other reviews saying the leasing agents act like celebrities, and honestly, it’s true. Let’s humble ourselves a bit, AJH. Plus, the residents were low key rude and unfriendly. Maybe the entire complex needs to be smudged with sage to bring in better vibes. The best part of living here was definitely the location and views. It’s close to everything, and the downtown views were amazing. I also appreciated how quickly they took care of any issues with the pool—it’s gorgeous, and they really keep it looking nice. The maintenance people were probably the best part of Alexan, too. They were so friendly and nice. Overall, it’s okay, but it didn’t feel worth the price for what was promised. If you’re looking for a high quality unit, AJH is not for you. Photos are views from our apartment.

He was professional, responsive, and truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend this community!

Love this apartment however they do not enforce security for their 2 guest per unit rule. This has ruined the residents chances of utilizing any of the grills or tables due to the ridiculous amount of guests for one unit. Holidays are the worst here, unable to enjoy the amenities as a guest or resident. Their “NEW” security team have been watching more than 15 guests walk into the pool area. The apartment has been trying to fix this issue yet, security is allowing more and more guest’s come through. Very disappointed with this reoccurring issue and their fake attempts to solve this
Alejandra M — Google review
I am very disappointed with the way this property is being managed, and I believe there are several areas that require immediate attention: Parking & Vehicle Enforcement The parking policy is not being enforced, which creates daily challenges for residents. Unauthorized vehicles occupy resident spaces regularly, and abandoned or inoperable cars are left for weeks without being tagged or removed. American Towing, the contracted company, has not been effective in addressing these issues. Additionally, there are several vehicles on-site without proper registration and yet they remain on the property without consequence. Garage & Drainage The parking garage has ongoing drainage issues, with water pooling in common areas due to a lack of proper drainage systems. This presents safety risks and creates an unprofessional appearance for the community. Cleanliness & Maintenance The breezeways are not being properly maintained and often remain dirty for extended periods of time. An excessive amount of dog feces can also be found throughout the property, suggesting that pet policies are not being enforced and common areas are not being cleaned regularly. On top of this, residents are not following valet trash policies, leaving containers and bags outside beyond designated collection hours. This creates an unsightly and unsanitary environment in hallways and common areas. Courtesy Patrol The courtesy patrol officer is ineffective. While his vehicle is often parked in front of the property, residents rarely see him walking the community or actively monitoring for concerns. This creates the perception of a lack of true security presence on-site. Between poor enforcement of parking regulations, vehicles without proper registration, neglected drainage and maintenance issues, valet trash violations, unsanitary conditions, and ineffective courtesy patrol services, this property does not reflect the standard of care or professionalism that residents are paying for. Management should take immediate steps to enforce community policies, address maintenance concerns, and provide consistent oversight to improve the living environment.

The apartment complex itself is very nice and the maintenance team does a fantastic job. However lots of residents are violating the 2 guests per household rule, there are always huge parties at the pool of people bringing 20-30 guests. Security doesn’t care at all, they just walk around the pool area and don’t do anything. Management doesn’t seem to care either. Very sad for all residents paying for the amenities and not being able to enjoy them.
Julia A — Google review
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. They allowed a fraudulent application to be placed and during the identity verification, no ID was received, so they terminated that application process. This application fee was then sent to collections and they will not remove the charge and advised to dispute it. Poor management practices that do not protect the people. They expressed it appears fraudulent since it was an out of state address with no ID to verify but are no help. Sad this is their practice to collect money from people who are fraud victims.

LuLoo's Day & Night in Garden Oaks is a delightful culinary gem brought to life by the creators of Blood Bros. This vibrant eatery is an ideal spot for families looking to enjoy a leisurely lunch after some outdoor fun at the nearby Stomping Grounds. With a menu featuring hearty options like giant smashed meatball subs and towering club sandwiches, there's something for everyone. Don't forget to check out their daily baked goods, but be cautious with the dessert display—those cinnamon rolls are tempting!
My wife, my mother and I came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. We arrived 5 minutes after Opening and there was a small line already forming! I happened to see the Limited Beef Bacon Sando, and it was well worth it my wife and I both enjoyed it and thought it was quite flavorful, and filling! My mom had the turkey sandwich and enjoyed it as well! Clay and the rest of the staff are top notch! Clay kept us in the loop and ensured that we were well taken care of! We definitely plan to come back and enjoy other items on the menu!

Definitely recommend the pastrami sandwich and fries. The fries are 100% my favorite style of fry. Everyone in my party was very happy with their dishes. My lack of a 5th star comes from no fountain drinks, only canned soda which is just not ever a good offering. This would be a great set up for a Maine root fountain or any variety of those yummy sugar cane soda fountains. Okay also the picnic table out front had big banners maybe laying on it so it looked disheveled and weren’t usable.

Saw it on the Chris Sheperd eat like a local show and had to come try. We tried the fried bologna with fried okra and cheeseburger and fries. Both are delicious and a lot of food for two people. They have a bar inside if you want to drink. They have an outdoor area they share with the other restaurants. The whole complex is called stomping grounds. Highly recommend you try the place. We were able to find parking and the service at Luloo's is great, very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other menu items esp the ones with Blood Bros bbq meat.

The rodeo cheeseburgers are amazing! Highly recommend. The fries come out seasoned and so crispy. We also got the turkey bun mi, which was OK. It could’ve had some more flavor to that one. But we also got the chips and queso Blanco with smoked brisket. The smoked brisket was to die for! This is my second time coming, and I made sure to bring my husband this time. I love the atmosphere even if you don’t have small kids it’s still a good time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Pictures are from my first visit. But I wanted to share them anyway.

Good sound track. Friendly service. Loved walking in on a whim and enjoying it this much. The frozen painkiller KILLED. If we didn't have other plans we would have stayed longer. The food was fresh and elegant. The focaccia was so flaky and buttery. Do yourself a favor and get you some.
Natalie G — Google review
We came here for a sandwich and loved the outdoor seating. The service was great. I had the fried bologna sandwich, which was good but very heavy (no surprise.)
Michelle S — Google review
I stopped by here for lunch on a Wednesday around noon and was pleasantly surprised by the cute space. Menu is short and sweet, and includes kid-friendly options. I went for the Turkey Club with a side of fries and a drink. The sandwich was super yum and had the perfect ratio of ingredients. I was a big fan of the sprouts (very old school) and the milk bread was delish. Fries were golden crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Good, solid fries. Pretty tasty. Can’t complain. I also loved that they didn’t serve fountain drinks—cans only. Damage was $22.45 after tip. Already looking forward to my next visit!
Liz P — Google review
Tried the fried smoked bologna sandwich and the Blood Bros turkey banh mi and a side of fried okra. Shared the food with a friend we were mainly there for tasting and experiencing the sandwiches. They were both Delicious and the fried bologna sandwiches take you back to your childhood. If you lived in the south in Texas chances are you’ve had that before it’s nostalgic. The frid okra was great great.

This place is PHENOMENAL. And the owners and staff are super friendly and cool. My wife and I really enjoyed the Biscoff cheesecake and almond butter croissant. 10/10 Experience!

Omg this bakery is sooo yummy. Everything in here is super delicious and best pastry I have had in a long time. I promise if you try anything youll keep coming back!! Definitely stop by if you want a little light breakfast or some brunch or even STUDYING. I love this place :)

So my experience huh: this lady who they have hired is very disrespectful to start off with. All over Houston when it comes bakeries I mean the top bakeries we don’t mind paying as much as they charge as it’s expensive but I told lady to give me a box so I can take my desserts home for Father’s Day. So she replied this how we give do u want ok if not please leave. I was shocked. So I prefer that with the good desserts they owners sell and worked hard for they also need to add better employees and packaging for their products thank me later -Shayan

I drive across town just to come here. Great bakery with some of the best chocolate chunk cookies in Houston! Their staff is just as sweet. Shoutout to Jennifer for her excellent service today.
Brandon A — Google review
Really good pastries. We were skeptical given the long hours but the pastries were beautiful and tasted great. We got the morning bun, blueberry cream cheese danish, chocolate chip cookie, lemon meringue tart, brownie croissant, and almond croissant. Everything was good and worth getting against except the cookie - it tasted a little off. The pastries were a little too crispy, not flakey but we still had a good experience overall Came back and tried a couple more things: the dulce de leche Cronut, strawberries and cream waffle croissant, Dulce de leche cookie, pbj croissant, and creme brulee croissant. We really enjoyed the waffles and pbj croissant followed by the cookie.

Shakkar is a Godsend to Houstonn!! The almond croissants are my FAVE ever (compared to every other place I’ve had in Houston and NYC), her morning buns are perfection, and all her Pakistani fusion flavors are spot on. The workers are all so sweet and helpful, 10/10 every time!

Andy's Home Cafe, located at 1115 E 11th St., has been taken over by Magnol French Baking for its second location. The original bakery is situated on North Post Oak. Fans of Andy's are eagerly anticipating the reopening, expressing their love for the place and its food, particularly the enchiladas. Customers are excitedly waiting for the new beginning and can't wait to indulge in dishes like enchiladas and carne guisada once again.
My partner and I have enjoyed the original Andy’s in its location in the Heights since the 90’s. Sad when they closed this location but now they’re open in a new location. We checked them out today and our food favorites from the original location were on the menu. We really enjoyed our time at the new location it was like seeing old friends and enjoying the same favorite food from the 90s. E&J 2024…
Estevan T — Google review
An old favorite at it's new location. Everything was great. Food is excellent. The cheese enchiladas are the best in the city. I hope the new location is just as successful as the old one used to be, so get out and check out Andy's. I have lots of memories from the old location, we had a lot of family dinners there. My mom liked Andy's and she always complained, lol. She passed away in 2023 , Andy's will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks for all the memories Andy's, I will make some new ones at your new location.

Very good homemade food...everything I have ate there throughout the years have been so good...homemade tortillas also...if Monica is there and serves you, you will be treated like family...tell her FAT TONY sent you so she can laugh hahaha...please give it a try if you haven't already
Low F — Google review
This is just how I remember. My parents went here as kids at the original location and now I come here even though I live an hour away. If your coming after the ball game or playing some games at cider cade, stop by here and grab an enchilada plate or the Carne guisada burritos with cheese, or a big bowl of caldo de res or menudo. This is what my parents got years ago and it's my go to now. You will not be disappointed. It's smaller than the original but that's ok because the food is still good as it was before. If you know how it was before you know what to expect. This is like coming back and visiting family. I'll definitely be back.
Silver L — Google review
The history behind this restaurant was so heart warming, to know this family tuffed it out and passed this establishment down from generation to generation put a smile on my face. I was greeted and serve with a warm welcome, my waitress provided great customer service! I had the menudo and to know they served it that early in the day any day was a plus, I will be coming here from now on when I need a good soup with excellent flavor!

Missed Andy's so much! Had to go when I heard yall reopened! Getting in and out of parking lot was easy. Everyone super friendly. My cheese enchiladas are by far the best in the Greater Houston area! And of course, the Carne Guisada was sooo tender and yummy wth homemade flour tortillas! We'll be back!! ❤️

The bakery prides itself on its unique cake designs and an array of delicious flavors that cater to every taste. With a track record of over five years, Buttercup Bakery has built a reputation for exceeding customer expectations with their exceptional vision and talent in the world of baking.
The cake we got was the best cake we have ever had! It was chocolate with fruit filling. Not only did it taste so good, it was decorated perfectly and very elegant, just what I wanted. The people in the bakery were so friendly too! Highly recommend!

I ordered a smash cake, a birthday cake, and cupcakes for my daughter’s first birthday and everything turned out AMAZING!!! The cakes were absolutely gorgeous and delicious to boot. I had so many guests asking about where the desserts were from. I will definitely be ordering cakes from Buttercup Bakery again!! On top of all that, my husband bought a few cookies when he was picking up the cake and those were incredible too! The peanut butter cookie in particular was fantastic.

I just wanted to say how amazing the cake was for my daughter’s birthday. The team did a phenomenal job and I was so proud to reveal the cake to her and her guests. I got so many compliments and so many people asked where I got it!

I hosted my bachelorette party here, which was a cake decorating class, and had an absolute blast! Kristina was so sweet and an amazing teacher. The chocolate cake was delicious and we were all excited to learn new skills and walk out with beautiful cakes.

The owner was so sweet and welcoming from the minute I walked in the door! You can tell she is very enthusiastic about her new business. Not to mention how AMAZING the baked goods are! Wow! Our entire veterinary hospital staff got to enjoy them today. You can clearly tell they’re homemade. We will definitely be back and are happy to be right down the street!
Chelsey C — Google review
This is a top quality bakery. The chocolate chip cookies are worthy of an award, and they have just the right amount of salt. They clearly have some excellent experience, you can tell in how everything I’ve had there looked photo-perfect and was made excellently. Super tender crumb, makes it clear they don’t over-mix. The frosting is stellar, and has a very good butter to sugar ratio. I don’t think they cut any corners! My favorite thing was either the aforementioned cookie, a shortbread cookie that Ted Lasso could have baked, or the strawberry vanilla scone. Truly you can’t go wrong here! My only regret is I forgot to take a picture of the chocolate chip cookie!

Bakery
Kamalan Bakery & Cafe, located in Dun Huang Plaza, Chinatown, is a delightful Asian bakery offering an array of delectable treats. Their signature mango-cream-filled milk bun is renowned for its pillowy softness. In addition to this, they also serve fluffy Japanese-style cheesecakes and savory stuffed breads with various fillings such as red bean paste and jalapeno and cheese sausage buns topped with oven-crisp cheese.
The staff is very friendly! The store is kept very clean and tidy and the baked goods are so good! I had a bento box my second time there and it was delicious and very filling. My friend had a pastry that was also extremely delicious! I will definitely come back! It's a long way from my home but it's worth it.

Had the ham and cheese was delicious, fresh and soft. Also got a vanilla cupcake, not really sweet, but delicious just the same! Friend got a pizza like dish she said it was amazing, along with a coconut bread, had coconut inside and bread on the outside, so yummy!!

Really nice little spot with a big dining room. Recommend checking out the baked goods before ordering, many pastries, cakes and breads available. I had the shrimp tempura bento box, it's a lot of food for one person. The only thing I would recommend to the restaurant is including a drink with a bento box.

So excited it’s here. There’s lots of interior seating. Inside is nice and comfortable. Exciting selection of bakery items that are generously sized. Will be visiting often.

They have breakfast pastry options and then after 11 they offer the array of pastries we know and love! I picked up a danish hotdog and crispy bbq pork pastry. So glad to have this in my neighborhood!
Manon P — Google review
So yummy! The pastries are light as a feather. I loved my vanilla cupcake and the mango cream cheese bun was also so good.
Alyssa A — Google review
Lovely Asian bakery. It's clean, quiet, and has quick service. The drinks and pastries had great flavor. The selection was okay, it didn't offer as much as some of the Asian bakeries elsewhere, but I think they will offer more once they have regular clientele. Biggest drawback was their prices, with the pastries being quite small for what you pay for.
Monument — Google review
The cake is amazingly delicious the mango and the bread and cream mix to perfection. Love it......
