I see why this place is so popular. Cheap and delicious breakfast tacos. The chorizo was definitely my favorite, but everything we tried was perfect. Generally the clients and staff here speak Spanish, so it's helpful to speak and understand Spanish, but not required! There's a line, but it moves quickly. Parking is a bit tricky, but even with that the experience was smooth.

Great food! Love their breakfast tacos. There is a line in the morning (Saturday around 8:20am) but it moved very quickly. The food look great, you can see them preparing your tacos. They put enough meat, eggs are good fresh. Tacos can with flour tortillas, I think you ask for corn but I didn’t try. The ladies are very nice and welcoming! Bonus points for having a bucket of red and green salsa for us to grab.

Always a line here but it moves quick. Tacos are loaded with meat and full of flavor. I had the chorizo and egg and the potato and egg and both were great. Fast service and a solid spot if you’re in a rush.

About as authentic as it gets. They have an enormous selection of choices available. I got several egg and potato. The line is always out of the door. If people are willing to wait in Houston heat, that should tell you something. I wouldn’t call these my most favorite taco in Houston as I usually go for weirder, more fusion options (think tofu or veggie). But I will definitely keep returning to this spot.

Awesome homemade tortillas, tried the bean & cheese, ground beef with onions, added cilantro, and chicken with grilled yellow and red peppers. The ground beef was so flavorful and fun to eat. Will try the breakfast tacos next. The bean and cheese was okay, add sauce.

now i understand why everyone loves this spot. the breakfast tacos are amazing and the prices are hard to beat. the bacon and egg combo hit the spot, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. most of the staff and customers speak spanish, which adds to the authentic vibe, but you’ll be fine even if you don’t. it gets busy, especially in the morning, but the line moves fast and the service is quick. parking takes a bit of patience, but it’s totally worth it once you take that first bite.

Visiting the George Brown Convention Center early on a Sunday morning looking desperately for somewhere to pick up a bite and my wife found Brothers Taco House! Wow! What a treat, the serving line was quick, food was delicious, and the staff was spot on friendly. We were in and out within 10 minutes. There is no drive thru but if there was you'd miss out the big selection of tacos varieties. Their coffee and hot sauces were also very good. We come to the convention center and few times a year, so that means we will return soon!

I love coming here, but make sure if you don’t want to wait in line, I’d come very early. Mid morning you know the line is out the door, but definitely worth it. As you can see, my favorite is pork chop tacos lol Soooo yum!

Solid spot for classic, no frills tacos. The handmade tortillas are fresh and the fillings; especially the barbacoa and picadillo are flavorful, though overall the food is simple and straightforward. Service is fast but rushed and not particularly friendly, so don’t expect a warm welcome. Great value for the price, but be prepared for long lines and a very casual experience.

Everything is made from scratch — especially the homemade flour tortillas (they’re next level). I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it’s always been consistently amazing. It’s family-owned, full of heart, and serves up some of the best tacos in Houston — hands down. Be prepared to wait during busy hours, but trust me, it’s totally worth it every time.

I came here almost weekly several years back and tacos were good. But now it's different. They need to improve the taste. Service is still top knotch. Always busy tho.

Authentic Tacos That Transport You Straight to Mexico! This taco shop is DELICIOUS! I had the lengua, tripa dorada, and barbacoa tacos, and each one was absolutely amazing—packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The authenticity reminded me of being back in Mexico. The tripa was crispy just the way it should be, the lengua was tender and flavorful, and the barbacoa was rich and juicy. You can tell they put care into every detail. If you're craving true Mexican street-style tacos, this is the spot. Their aguas frescas were the perfect complement. Highly recommended!

Today I decided to stop at taco La Bala The beans were OK. They did offer prompt service They were a little runny for me. The rice was missing a little bit of personality and flavor. The Barbacoa tacos were OK. I liked them. The meat was tender and it was flavorful and the place was packed so I guess people do like them. I do also know that they have four different locations.

The tacos are amazing! So far it’s been my favorite taco joint in Houston! 9/10 highly recommend the barbacoa and asada tacos.

Stopped by yesterday after work. Burrito and tacos were good. One thing I liked the most was the salsa verde. It was full of flavor. Most places lack on spice.

Delicious flavors. I felt good bang for buck. The red and green salad were spicy and tasty. Some of the meat felt dry and overbooked. The al pastor (aka trompo) meat has a nice flavor profile.

Authentic Mexican food. Their food taste like when I'm in Mexico. It doesn't take long for it to come out. Update 3/6/2022 - Came here on a busy Sunday and the place was packed with super long lines and surprisingly the line went super fast and people left super quick. The place is well maintained by the cleaning crew because as soon as someone leaves there they are cleaning and picking plates up. The food is still amazing and delicious.

Our go-to spot for breakfast tacos! Portions are big and super tasty, almost like getting a burrito instead of a taco. We drive almost an hour to get here and it’s always worth it!

I ordered food for pickup the night before. 8 tacos all different and upcharged. When I arrived at 9am for the pickup it was not ready until 9:15 which was frustrating since I ordered ahead. I was told the chicken would be another 15-20 minutes. Why have that as an option if the place opens at 8am and you don’t serve things on the breakfast menu until an hour and a half later. The tacos were so soggy. The potatoes were clearly stale/more than a day old. The jimmy bean taco was stone cold and we just threw it away. I am disappointed to have spent $50 on 8 tacos that weren’t good especially in Texas.

Disappointing first visit here, will look forward to a redeem trip! Pretty much out of all food by 12:45 PM (queso, eggs, enchiladas), which I think was a fluke. Fajitas were ok. Realized after we left we never got the chips and salsa we ordered. Very sweet staff, lovely to our kids.

Make your conclusion Placed my order online at 8:30 AM and was told it would be ready by 9:20 AM. I arrived at 9:30 AM, expecting a quick pickup, but the scene was chaotic. I mentioned my online order and still had to wait another five minutes before receiving it. Over an hour for a basic egg and potato taco? Not worth it. There are other spots nearby that serve tastier tacos with far less hassle. Note- This is not first time it happened. here.

Big tacos, a regular adults will fill up with just 2! I had the barbacoa taco and my wife had the pork en salsa verde. They both tasted really good. If only they had better salsas it would be great.

Great food, but after visiting multiple times, the wait for both dine-in and carryout is unacceptably slow at peak times or weekends. Expect to wait 30-45 minutes more than you’d think for similar food/restaurants, even if calling ahead

Service is terrible, I called ahead and placed an order and when we got there the lady said that they had just sold all of the chorizo. She never made the food for us so they sold out. She said the person had just come and ordered 8 tacos. Additionally , she started make the rest of my order and I asked for no beans and she proceeded to make the tacos with beans. Instead of starting over she just scraped the beans off and kept making the taco. Do not recommend solely based of service.

Don't bother. Service is awful. I made an order online, and when I got there they had sold part of my order to another customer. They didn't have the rest of my order made because they ran out of food. This is poor customer service. I won't be back. Save yourself the expense and go somewhere they honor you as a customer.

The guy on the phone wouldn't let me place a to go order saying it would take 2 minutes (not the case) but never mentioned that what I wanted to order wasn't available. My husband is about to pay and the guy tells him NO CHEESE. Not that they didn't run out, he says no one wanted it so they stopped using cheese. What?! The tacos were pretty bad so not sure the cheese would have made them much better but come on. You can't have it on the menu everywhere or a decent breakfast taco without it!

It's alright. Green sauce was hot and yummy if you like burning. My daughter said "how is this a quesadilla?" And the tortillas are not homemade. I'm going to stick to chilosos. Parking blows too as it's in the gas station.

So glad I got to finally try this place. I used to frequent the taco truck over at Alabama Ice House. This newer location is close to my office. The beef fajita Mexicana and picosa were the bomb! The pastor was solid. This place is legit! Will definitely be back often. Great tacos and friendly service at a great price.

The staff was very nice, and the food was delicious and well priced. I ordered at the bar, but paid at the gas station register, so they take credit cards unlike the famous truck. I had a pastor taco, a lengua taco, a barbacoa taco, and a fajita quesadilla. The lengua and barbacoa were flavorful and tender. The pastor was well seasoned and a little crispy. The fajita had some sauteed onions and peppers. They offered onions and cilantro at no extra charge, and their green salsa was wonderful. I will definitely be back to try their other options like chicharron, pollo poblano, and camarones.

Best molé sauce I've ever had. Our server was superb. She made great recommendations, especially in the wine and dessert choices. My tenderloin was mouth-watering. The octopus was made to perfection, not rubbery at all.

Amazing food. Think all that is good in Mexican/Spaniard foods and elevate it. Finest restaurant, indeed. Presentation: 10 Taste: 10 creativity: 10 Service: 10 location: 10 lots of new spices and old ones utilized in a different manner, enhancing them. Great wine and beer selection. Outside sitting, fenced and safe for families with little ones. Very pleasant ambient. The foods and spices taste as if they're coming from the farmers straight to your table. No middleman. Everyone should have this experience at least once.

Wow! Xochi was our favorite meal during our trip to Houston. We ordered the pescado (daily catch) and tostadas de camarón (sautéed shrimp on crispy tortillas) which were extremely fresh and flavorful. The protein was cooked perfectly and the vegetables and herbs paired nicely with both dishes. For drinks, we ordered the Nervous Traveller (a fantastic skinny marg) and the world’s best margarita (similar to a Cadillac marg but with aged liquor). Both drinks were excellent, and if we visit Houston again I’m certain we will at least stop by to order these same cocktails. The outdoor seating was very clean and the staff were knowledgeable and timed our dishes perfectly. We don’t normally order dessert, but we splurged since the meal was going so well. We ordered the Helado de Elote (ice cream dish made with corn custard) and it was divine. The cob molds and marigolds made for an impressive presentation, but most importantly we cleaned the plate at a competitive pace 😂 Also, my wife is gluten free and it was very refreshing to have the full menu at her disposal.

Made reservations for my mom’s birthday, our waiter was amazing she informed us about the dishes , food was tasty only wish queso de rancho had more protein of the bugs not just 2 of each & cocktail drinks weren’t the best to my taste & I bit too loud but overall a good experience.

Great place for authentic Mexican food. You know it's good because there is always a wait but they get the line down quick. There is also a bakery in the restaurant that you can browse around while you wait. I got the big tex burrito and it was great. The salsa that comes with the chips is so delicious, we had to buy a container to take home too. The Hercules juice was so, so good and a definite must try. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We loved the gorditas too. Whatever cheese they put on them is delicious and passes the cheese pull test. Service was amazing. All of the staff were super friendly and attentive. Our food came out very quickly too. Parking is pretty easy since they have a large parking lot behind the restaurant.

I've been chowing down at this spot since I was in their booster seats. Now as an adult I admire their consistency. The salsa and chips are the best, but my go to is their gorditas, extra meat extra cheese for me. With an agua fresca you can never go wrong. This is a Houston staple and powerhouse. Ordered a tampiquena plate with extra meat get home to a plate with just meat and fries. No rice no tortillas no grilled onions. Manager just says ok sorry I’ll give you a discount next time. WTH doesn’t even get my info what a joke

The food is very TRADITIONAL so don't expect Tex-Mex. No queso here. That said, the carnes are very flavorful in whatever plato you pick. Only issue we experience last few visits is the female servers have an attitude. Not friendly. Seem very rushed and impatient. This last time a young guy was our server & very attentive. Pleasantly surprised so we stopped next door to buy pan dulce! Cookies not so fresh but pan dulce was!

I've been coming here since they opened up. Today was the first time that I had poor service..and the flour tortillas are now half the size they once was. I'm very disappointed. The server never brought silver ware..the server seems like he didn't want to be at work. And don't ask for a to go box, it took 15 minutes to get one. The men servers need to go back to the kitchen and put Women back on the floor. A woman has never once forgotten to bring silverware, they normally bring it with ur food or when they get ur drinks. I guess I'm going to have to start going elsewhere... And take all my HPD AND FIREMAN FAMILY WITH ME

I went to this restaurant which was way across town for me on recommendation of Chris Shepherd on eat local. It didn't disappoint. If the place is busy on a midweek it has to be good. Good Mexican food

Do not go here! They are extremely rude and the customer service was terrible! I asked for their chicken mini taco combo and the cashier asked if I wanted three tacos, I said no, I want the chicken mini taco combo. He said okay and the proceeds to charge me for the three tacos which is significantly more expensive. When I received the wrong order and politely told him about the corrections, he just went to make my original order with no refund in sight. When I told him about the refund he grew very angry and aggressive (slamming receipts on the table, rolling his eyes at me, openly mocking me.) Eventually when I asked for my final receipts he grabbed my bag, purposefully scratching me in the process, before rudely showing me the receipt in the bag. Then just when I thought it was over THIS is how I got my food back! Just haphazardly thrown together & spilled all over! Really really rude!

Tacos were delicious. However the corn was sour & they refused to compensate me or give me something in place of the corn. DO NOT. & I REPEAT DO NOT GET CORN IN A CUP. If you order from this place, know that they don't care if the costumers are satisfied or not.

Food was not good at all. Ordered tostadas and shrimp ceviche. Tostadas had strange taste and texture was not enjoyable. Ceviche was way too sour - all ingredients didn’t taste very fresh. They have no refrigerated drinks (?!) I really don’t understand what others see in this place. Would not recommend

Super delicious food with great music and friendly staff! First, it is important to note that although there is accessible parking, there are no wheelchair friendly tables. The restroom is accessible, however. Everything I've tried has been delicious. My personal favorite is their elote!

This place is a vibe. There’s an all day lunch special for $11 that includes street corn, 5 street tacos and a refresca. Chefs kiss. The dipping sauce for the tacos is very spicy and I’m a spice girl. The margaritas are available on happy hour and they’re a great way to end your day but just get one. Customer service is great as well.

Heard good things about this place and they were true. I love street tacos and it's hard to find a restaurant that keeps them authentic, this place does a great job. Love the selection of meats and the salsa bar is my favorite part. Will return when I'm in the area fur sure.

Tacos were good and at reasonable prices. The tortillas were tasty but I do not believe home made. The beans were very tasty and I would recommend the bean and cheese taco. The pastor had a good flavor but was not the flavor bomb that I was hoping for. I will give it another try at lunch some day.

Small cozy Mexican restaurant, took me back to my trip to Mexico city. The tacos were bomb. Tried one of each kind and a street corn. Definitely will be coming back to try the seafood ones.

If I died today and this was my last meal, I’d die a happy woman. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in Houston. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and authentic. I highly recommend checking this place out! Also, I didn’t get a picture of my coffee because I finished it too fast it was that good.

First time here and had a hard time deciding what to get so many delicious looking things. I settled on a quesadilla with mushrooms and I was not disappointed. It was so savory and meaty but meatless. The green sauce and pickled veggies accented it perfectly. I will be back to try more and bring the hubby next time so we can try more dishes. 😋

The chips and guacamole were a great starter, flavorful. The quesadillas is huge, definitely worth the cost and the extra cost for the addition of chicken. Green salsa was a great topping to that as well. The cashier gentleman was very soft spoken it was a bit hard to hear him considering the moderate noise in the restaurant. Would recommend to speak up a bit. Customer service was still great!

Damn i was actually surprised how the food and everything was so good. Love the chill somewhat quiet atmosphere with some old latin tunes (some jazz as well). The food though? My goodness, extremely flavorful and spicy! But i loved it. I came by randomly after a jam session with some homies, the place was literally a minute away. I really hope this place continues to stay open. AND its vegan friendly!

I hardly give out 5 starts, however, this place definitely deserves it. Everything here was delicious! From the horchata, to Totopos (chips), breakfast burrito and tres leches French toast! As someone who loves Mexican food, you know that the right green sauce can make or break a taco place; this place has amazing green sauce! The chorizo in the breakfast burrito was delicious and authentic ! None of that chef experiment bs, where they add pickles to it like WTH lol (a breakfast spot in montrose). The chorizo here tastes like something they made for me at home, as a kid when I was growing up. The horchata was homemade and creamy and perfect! The tres leches French toast, need I say more ? This place is so good and I will definitely be coming back. I’m so glad we found it!

Always a great experience at Cochinita & Co! Recently treated myself to a meal to-go and there was a slight mishap with the order. The staff quickly remedied the order without hesitation. Supererb customer service! We often take our friends and family from out of town to try some of Houston’s finest food. The brunch menu is a favorite. You can’t go wrong with any item but I’m partial to their vegan chilaquiles! ☺️

When driving to this food truck, you might miss it, but you'll be happy that you found it. They provide a small indoor area, but I think the majority of customers just eat in their cars or take it to go. The food was great, and the portion size for the price was solid. The green salsa was spicy, but a must try. I wish I could've tried the beans, but since I went right as they opened, they were cooked just yet. I recommend going around 3ish to have the full menu available. Everything tasted fresh. I definitely need to go back and try the other items on the menu, but i tried the large quesadilla and corn tacos. I tried the beef, pork, and the mix.

This is the best place in Houston for street tacos and tortas. The pastor meat is one of the best I've ever had. It's a food truck they do have seating available in their patio that is attached to the building which inside is bar. They are very fast even when they are busy. Must stop for late night Street tacos.

The street tacos are sooo good! Will be back! They accept cash and Zelle Ordered: 3 carne asada tacos with cheese. Comes with grilled onions, salsa and onions and cilantro on the side.

Came on what seemed like a slow night for the bar attached; which made ordering easy and service fast. I ordered everything to-go. Ordered 5 tacos (3 bistec, 2 trompo) and it came with lime wedges, cilantro, fresh chopped onions, and a red and green salsa. My wife also got 5 tacos and a side of grilled pineapple and a cup of charro beans. Everything totaled to $29 ($1 Zelle fee they have posted). It’s convenient they’re not cash only but they also accept cash. Everything was plastic wrapped pretty nicely and I didn’t worry about it moving around in my car. We got home, prepared our meals and had a fantastic time. The tacos were delicious and the trompo is definitely what they’re known for. You don’t see that a lot and they do it very well. We used the grilled pineapples for the trompo tacos and I recommend you do it too. Both salsas were really yummy but I think I preferred the red with these tacos. The regular charro beans were also very delicious. They offer ones with toppings but we opted for the “plain” option. They are anything but plain. We will definitely be back with friends!

Wow. Large portions, quick service, delicious salsa anything comes with cooked and fresh onions. Trompo is amazing!

Food was amazing. The trompo torta was insanely delicious. We had the green sauce and it was great but be warned it is very spicy! The service was just ok, they were really busy.

Delicious Mexican food, fresh and flavorful-- we had enchiladas (chicken mole and seafood), rice, and charro beans, all excellent. I wish the salsa was spicier, but that's a personal preference-- the flavor was very good. We were too full for dessert, so I guess we'll have to go back! The portions were generous, but the price point is a little on the high side for us. That's not a complaint, really, more of a heads up. Service was fabulous. All in all, a wonderful meal!

Highly recommend restaurant and the staff Jennifer was a really warm and nice host that not only recommend us good food but also the historic story of the restaurant. We order the Del Mar Enchiladas and Fajitas of beef and chicken. Del Mar had a rich flavor of Shrimp, crab and the sauce was really great - though little pricy. Fajita was a classic one and recommend the fried roasted bean with cheese and the green rice - with a great texture! We only have two people and the amount are big for us😆 but the dinner experience was really great!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! When we entered the front staffed just starred, did not even say hello. My Dr.Pepper was extremely flat it tasted like water. I had to ask the server to come over several times for things I needed. He only checked up on me 2 times. No physical kids menu, they just tell you and they don’t tell the price. The kids chicken tenders is 2 pieces of chicken and 3 potato wedges. My son did not like the flavor of the chicken and he is not a picky eater. My Texas combo was not good. The steak, rice and taco were lacking flavor. The taco was greasy. The enchilada was the only thing I enjoyed. For my family of 5 I ended up paying $106. I spend less at Olive Garden. The price is not worth the food. Do Not Go Here!

This place is a Houston institution known for the home of fajitas. I have been here a few times of the years. It seems to fall in quality each time. I had a solo mid week lunch. This place always has a good size crowd. It’s very lively and feels like a great TexMex spot. I was seated immediately and the waiter came quickly to take my drink order and provide chips and salsa. I ordered the skirt steak fajitas. It would be the last time I saw my waiter until I was as finished. The chips are solid. The salsas are ok. The green doesn’t have much flavor. Red was a little better but no heat. Fajitas came out with all the fixings plus beans and rices. The meat was slightly overcooked for my taste but still doable. The flavor was the real problem. It simply lacked seasoning. The tortillas were very good when they were warm. Once they cooled down they became very rigid and my last one broke apart while I was as finishing my fajitas. The kicker is the fajitas are average but they cost $45. That’s not going to cut it. Sadly, I won’t be making anymore stops at Ninfa’s. Luckily, Houston is full of great other options.

I booked a table at The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation while I was in Buenos Aires, as I was only staying in Houston for one night. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. However, I found the prices to be a bit high for the overall experience.

I loved the atmosphere, very calm great for a family outing or Saturday out with friends. I ordered the Fajita Mix for a group of 4 , it had Chicharrones, Fajita, Shrimp and Sausage, it came with 2 sides or Rice and 2 sides or Beans. Food 8/10 the ribs were a bit chewy and the Guac had no flavor otherwise everything else was good

Our service asked how we wanted the beef fajitas and I told him to make it however the chef recommends. And it was perfect! Beef fajitas had a lot of flavor and it was tender. The chicken fajitas were delicious as well. Chips and queso tasted good too. Frozen Margaritas and Margaritas on the rocks were good. Not sour tasting at all.

I've been to Guadalupana many many times, because I used to live close by & it's convenient. The food in general is solid & filling & tastes ok, but honestly not extraordinary. I've pretty much had their entire menu, but mostly gravitate towards their breakfast dishes. Their coffee is AWESOME & I've bought several bags over the years. The staff & service are super friendly & great to be around. Parking is not convenient, so avoid the rush hours. I mostly used to walk there. It's a great little place to grab a quick bite or meet a friend, but the space is somewhat limited for big parties, & it can get a bit loud, but the energy is good.

We stopped by to get breakfast tacos bc the coffee shop we tried that morning didn't have food. We had to park up the road bc parking was crazy, but ordered quickly and got our food fast. The staff was friendly and the spot reminded me of a diner I used to go to as a kid. Tacos were fine, flour tortillas were better than the corn. I wish the salsa was hotter, but it had good flavor. We also got a marranito to take home.

A whole lot of choices. Tried some excellent pozole and an omelet especial. Superb refried beans. The best cup of restaurant coffee I've ever had and I've had a lot.

Got the mole enchilada and breakfast sandwhich. Pro Tip: sub the croissant bread for the almond croissant. Adds a sweetness. Don’t think. Just do it. Lots of drink options for the vampiro juice horchata and cafe.

We came for breakfast and it was delicious! Really good coffee, pozole and enchiladas verdes. It’s a bit cramped but all in all delicious food. Oh also…the almond croissant is amazing, must try!

Service was alright. Food was mediocre, the tortillas for the tacos were still cold and didn’t seem to have been placed on the comal for long. Steak fajita tacos were too chewy, but I wasn’t sure if there was an option for carne asada instead of the fajita. Horchata, Ice Coffee, and chips and homemade salsa were good!

The quality of the food is satisfactory; however, the pricing appears excessive. I ordered a menudo, Chico, and found the portion considerably smaller than expected. The grande size did not align with the larger portions I am accustomed to. In conclusion, it seems that the establishment prioritizes profit over value. Some alternative venues provide comparable or superior cuisine at much more reasonable prices.

Alamo Tamales is a beloved place for Lunch in the Northside area of Houston. I believe is a bit overpriced and competition around offer same quality food. Taste is great. Panaderia is part of the offerings. Place is very clean and well-kept. Ample parking, plenty of seating.

3.3 stars. Stopped in to pick up some tamales. Prices were fair. Lots to choose from though. We ended up getting a half dozen sweet corn tamales which were okay. We also picked up a half dozen chicken tamales which were also standard. Friendly employees and well organized operation. Just not quite sure what the fuss and hype are about.

Have tried only tamales here so far and they are not the best but we like them. My wife thinks tamales we have had in Houston were small-ish and dough was overly seasoned for her taste. Friendly staffers. Nice atmosphere. It is sort of cafeteria-style; want to try more of their offerings like tacos or empanadas. They have a bakery, too; it would be nice if more of the bakery foods were labelled, or maybe we just need to learn more about those offerings, ha.

Coworkers always want to eat here for lunch. Food served quick due to it being pre-made and under heat lamps. Can get pretty busy with long line. Ladies behind counter seems to rush me when I need time to read the extensive menu or see what's on the line. Dislike the fact of only bottled drinks served instead of refillable fountain drinks. Ordered beef fajita tacos which were pretty good.

Came here on Thursday morning and the barbacoa tastes nasty and had a lot oil dripping. Called them and the manager wanted me to bring it back so she can inspect it first and determine if I can get my money back. For them to be busy on the weekends they should refund then money back for their mistake.

I like that they offer a variety of spicy salsas. The food is great. Vibes are good. This was my second time going and we've had a great experience so far. My second visit was for mother's day weekend, and they gave a rose to all the mother's. It was a nice gesture.

Every weekend, we do a “Tacos Weekend” with my husband, and this place is always our favorite. I always get three tacos: Barbacoa – Soft, juicy, and full of flavor. Fried Tripe – Crispy and delicious. Great texture! Lengua– Very tender. Tastes amazing with lime. We’ve tried many taco places, but this one is the best. Simple, tasty, and always satisfying.

This little spot in Spring Branch is a pleasant surprise with the service and food. I ordered the quesabirria, and they did not disappoint. Full of flavor from the seasoning, sauce selection and consume. I was greeted with a smile, served with a smile and was checked on by multiple staff members. There were equal orders for To-go, as diners, the place was busy with both. Definitely coming back to the gem! If you're in the area, give it a try, you won't regret it.

If you want the greasyest and nastiest food you have ever eaten then this is the place for that. It doesn't matter what you order here it is all drenched in grease and too disgusting to eat.

I’ve been coming here for the past 5-6 years since I moved to Houston. A buddy recommended it to me, and it instantly became my favorite taco spot to go to. But I don’t come here that often. Why is it that you ask… it’s my favorite spot after all. Their prices are just a bittttt overpriced. These 2 tacos cost me $13.41. Just a Carne Asada and add avocado…basically $14 for 2 tacos that are slightly bigger than street tacos is crazy work. Please, y’all’s prices are a bit much. I can go to another taco spot around town or a damn good taco truck and get more for less. Other than that, the vibes are immaculate. Customer service is straightforward but nothing to write home about. It’s really a “No BS” kind of spot, so you just get what you get. They’re not rude, but I feel like often times it feels as if they’re a bit too “cool for school.” Another annoying nitpick is they don’t have a phone number you can call, which is…bizarre to me. Maybe they’ve added one since this review, but I’ve never been able to find it. The deck & cover they added on the side is a really nice touch compared to the gravel that was there before. It keeps the sun from destroying your soul in the middle of summertime. And the small little shack they have on the opposite side of the deck is a whole damn vibe in the summer and whenever they have it open. You get some quality DJs in there, and it’s a super fun time. Overall, I’ll keep coming back because they’ve never given me a reason not to. This is one of the dopest spots in Houston to hit up for some tacos by far!

This place is fun for an after work drink, happy hour is $6 margs. The tacos are good but a bit dry. The 2 cheese burger and fry meal is a good deal. Fun atmosphere

I stopped in for some takeout. The service was good. The food was ready quick. The roast pork burrito was delicious. I really loved the red hot sauce they gave me as well.

This is the second time in the row that I've gone to order food from this place. Which I always enjoyed, but waited almost 15 minutes for somebody to come back to the bar and take my order. There seems to be no urgency for customer service. When I left tonight there were 8 people in line waiting. Sometimes success breeds arrogance.

Cantina Barba Is a classic mezcal bar, I visited the bar at night after winding down from a fun night in the city. The food here is reasonably priced, and the ambience is pretty cozy, I personally haven’t had a chance to visit the bar in daylight but I’m willing to bet it’s prettier in the day time. Ambiance: outdoor patio 10/10!! Spacious, and vibrant at night. Indoor seating 6/10 a bit cramped, indoor seating gives off dive bar vibes. Cuisine: 10/10 classic bar food, the nachos were even better!! Price Range: reasonably priced, the chicken quesadilla was priced at $8 with a drink. Parking: 4/10 awkward real estate location, late night stiff parking. Alcohol/smoking: Alcohol/Smoking friendly Operating hours: 9AM-2AM SUN-THU, 9AM-3AM FRI & SAT, great spot to hit up late at night.

Very flavorful and well seasoned steak tacos. They only have beef - fajita or tongue for meat options. The tacos are cheap and delicious. I noticed a lot of people ordering the plate which I’ll have to try next time. They also have agua frescas and yes they’re cash only.

El Taconaso as excellent food, highly recommended. The place is always packed, and they take one order at a time, which makes service very slow. Better management could improve the experience and their business significantly.

I consider el taconazo as one of the food staples of Houston, a hidden gem that you shouldn't miss. There is no bs, just delicious lengua and barbacoa. There are more items, but this is always my go-to. Do I need to say more? The lengua is always tender and delicious. They also have a plate with cheese, which I also recommend a lot! But if you're on the run, make a quick pit stop, I recommend the tacos fuel up your engine and hit the road to continue with your day!

Some of the best tacos in all of Houston. Value for the money spent is great. The tacos are full of flavor, perfect moisture and not dry. The salsa was spicy but not so spicy that it overpowers the flavor of the meat. I would definitely go back if I find myself in that area.

Wow! This place packs some flavor! The prices are great and the food is awesome. The Trompo was flavorful and tender. The fajita was a over average in taste but well above average in tenderness. Great taco stop for anyone in the area. Fast and friendly. They do speak fluent English for those that can’t speak Spanish.

Coming from San Antonio, last thing I wanted was Mexican food. But this place is a winner!! Off train line, fast service (line went QUICK), good size portion (and im a big guy that can eat), very affordable and food was excellent!! The food at Birria Los Primos is delicious—full of authentic flavors and well worth a visit! The location can be a bit hard to find, but once you’re there, it’s a great experience. Definitely recommend!

We were waited on by three different people. Finally, the lady who waited on us was always checking in on us to make sure we were good! The service, well, it stank but the food was good. I don’t know how many times I asked the servers if they would take my payment, but kept getting ignored. Long story short, would definitely come back but I think this time I’d like a lady server over a male server as they were either deaf or just hard at hearing.

Pretty good mexican food place. You will find a mix of authentic and more americanized Mexican food in a low-profile cafeteria style. They have a little bar offering cocktails. The portions are generous, service is good. I would come back for sure. The parking lot is big enough for the size of the place. The drink was about $14.change and it was Small and not great.Salsa is spicy just spicy not much flavor. I came here yesterday morning. It was right next to my veterinary clinic. Authentic Mexican cuisine, small hole in the wall restaurant. The service was impeccable ,wonderful workers. Lastly, the portion sizes were not as big as I hope they were, but the food is delicious.! Meal for one was less than $16.

They forget your beans, cilantro, onion, and lemons all the time!!!! I decided to give this place one more chance and I shouldn't have. Never again. Make sure you double check the bag! I had to come back for all of my sides and the lady was upset with me even though she made the mistake… Beans come with mostly just soup! That's all the beans that came out of the whole container. And they never answer the phone.

I went for some tacos, they were not great. But worst of all, my less than 1 year old had a slight spit up, while we were dinning in, and the cook started to make disrespectful comments about how people only go to places to make a disorder. I asked him if he was referring to me and my family, and he said no. So I had plan to let it go, untill he continued to talk to a cashier near by and decided to stand next to me and my family and continued to make comments about how people are messy and only make disorders everywhere they go. I was already cleaning the area to think this place would talk smack to their customers instead of offering help. This place has no value for customer service!!!! The whole visit the cook was in the back, and only decided to come to the lobby to have a conversation with his cashier when my family had a slight accident and then cowardly deny he talking about us! Don't go hear. The place right next door is 100 % better. I have a video as proof, but I don't think the cook is the owner. If he is this place, it lacks any self-respect.

First and last time I will order from here, I really thought they knew what they were doing… they don’t! I ordered two tacos de tripa, doradas, they gave me a bunch of crumbs and were soggy as heck! And the meat was not cleaned well.. still tasted gamey. Not impressed.. they lack on the charro beans.. there were like 7 beans in my cup. This place is not it.. the lady at the window was nice though. Hope who ever comes here gets better tasting food.

Reliable street tacos! Open all night for when you have the munchies. They do charge extra if you use a card instead of cash. Soft drinks are usually a little flat so get an agua Fresca instead.

An okay place for Birria. There was nothing too spectacular about this place. We also got the asada and pastor tacos and unfortunately the meat was dry… even with salsa and lime. The tacos are good the Menudo it's ok, conchas with nutela are a must try so as Cafe de olla if you are looking for a desert. The atmosphere is really good, service is fast and reasonable prices. They have Brunch menu everyday and kids menu. Aguas frescas are really good.

I loved going here. The birria is always so good and the waters omg. However, they recently did some remodeling that Im just not comfortable in anymore. Not to mention, they got rid of the metal trays :( They traded it out for a weirdly angled cutting board. I dont know, but personally I missed the casual setting of everything. The times I went they would play house music instead of the chill latino music, at times it was overwhelming and loud during our meal. I'm adding my previous pictures. Again, the food top notch amazing. It's just I rather not keep asking for an extra plate cause the aesthetic is more important.

I ordered a Birria combination plate with 2 Birria tacos and 3 Street tacos. They overstuffed my tacos and the Birria tacos were normal sized and packed with meat and cheese and were crispy. I've already told my friends about this place and I ordered an hour ago. I had enough to share a taco and made a torta the next day. I just happened to drive by it and pulled up the reviews, not one lie told and their bathroom was clean.

This was a spur of the moment choice to eat at when I first came for food & since then its been a great go to for delicious Mexican food. The food options are great. I so far had the XL quesiberria with their signature aqua frescoes, the berria ramen & the 3 berria tacos with selantro, diced tomatoes & shredded lettuce on the site to add.

I didn't want to believe the low reviews for this place, but believe them ppl. This place is hot and dirty. There is NO farm to be found on the premises and the tacos look NOTHING like the promotional pictures or videos. I ordered the lamb birria tacos and the meat is no where near tender and you have to dig to find any cheese. I couldn't even finish them cuz they were so tough. We ordered drinks as well and the waiter came back to the table and asked us out of nowhere if we wanted to talk to his supervisor b/c they haven't even started making our drinks. We finally received our drinks, we ordered ones with mini bottles in them, and my bottle was FILTHY. I was so upset that they would even put that disgusting thing inside my drink!!! I don't think the prices are reasonable at all. This is an honest review, the prices aren't all that great, the place feels like your living in hell, and it's not clean in the least bit.

One of the best Birria east of Rio Grande!! We had a Birria de Borrego, which is the most typical from Mexico. Glendi was our waitress. She had an infectious smile.

I saw a promotional video of this place on Facebook or Instagram. They hyped it up and made it look really good. I was definitely not impressed. The menu is very confusing to read. It's just full of pictures. It really doesn't explain anything. It doesn't help that the server doesn't speak English and couldn't explain anything. It's weird that she doesn't speak English because the whole commercial I saw was in English. There is no AC in this place. They had a portable unit, but it was not working very well. I thought the food was below average for the price they were charging. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. Most of my food was served, almost cold and not hot at all. I'm glad I was in the area when trying this place because I would definitely not drive the 30+ miles it is from my house to eat here. Good luck, I wish y'all the best!

Amounts of cilantro/onion and consume gets less and oilier by the day!These people are taking advantage of their customers! Not coming back! Came because it was close by! I’ve Always kind to them but they are always mean to their customers! I’ve been a loyal customer but today is the last time I’m coming!

I personally didn’t like the area or atmosphere and the wait was 20-30 minutes. I suggest to call your order ahead if you’re in a rush. I paid 21$ for 2 corn tacos, 1 gordita, 1 small quesadilla, 1 burrito, 1 huarache and 1 large horchata. Overall, the food was good. This wouldn’t be my go to spot though but if you’re near the area, it’s worth a try.

First time at this food truck. Husband and I wanted to try out 1 taco of 5 meats. (So we can try a little bit of what they had since they have a variety meat choices) Get to the window & Lady states I can only get 2 kinds of meats. Which I felt it was odd. Never had this problem before. Took about 10 minutes to receive food, aside from waiting to order. Ordering was another thing. Lady would take orders and then finish getting everything prepared. And then come back to take more orders. When I received my tacos, I thought all of them had the cheese which now I’m seeing it’s something you ask for? I think it would have been nice if the lady would ask with cheese. But ehh it’s was ok. Not the best tacos.

If you are looking for some cheap authentic Mexican breakfast tacos in the area, look no further. My Mexican friend took me to this hidden gem, and I was absolutely amazed. Coffee and tacos were on point, and they were cheap asf! Shiiiiiiiii... they are using the same ingredients from el tiempo! This is an absolute steal, you guys. There was plenty of parking, but it's close to the buddy's house, so we just walked over. Next time we do a run, and it's early enough to get breakfast tacos again, we will for sure be coming back here!

Food is top quality. I go for the tacos. The service can improve. The ladies working the cashier can sometimes have an attitude or seem too busy to even notice you. Not everyone but this particular short older lady is. Maybe she's just set in her ways and that's just her. Either way, she can be nicer.

I hate to give a Ninfa's restaurant 2 stars, but my experience was so terrible today, I have to say something. I ordered the fajita pack, with my mouth watering, and also ordered extra tortillas, a flauta with no lettuce (which should have been served with tomato), extra green sauce, and extra grilled onions. Note that my fajitas were supposed to come with a grilled pepper, also, which is one of my favorite things at El Tiempo. The only thing that tasted like El Tiempo was the refried beans. The rice was pretty good too. The beans were not mashed enough, however, and lacked the smoothness I'm used to at El Tiempo restaurants. The flauta was good, if not completely greasy, which took away from my enjoyment of it, along with the fact that it was missing tomatoes. The fajitas were completely inedible. The beef was gristly, and almost impossible to chew. The chicken was so dry by appearance that I never even tried to eat them. Not only that, both kinds of meat had a weird pink hue to them. The grilled onions in the container with the meat were barely grilled (not cooked enough at all), and the extra grilled onions they gave me were sitting in some weird smelling brown juice, and didn't look fresh - as if they had taken the scraps that were thrown in the side of the grill and given them to me. I was missing red sauce completely, along with the grilled pepper. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because the other food was decent, and the green sauce was excellent. This may be a place to order breakfast tacos from, but I do NOT recommend the fajitas.

Getting the food was fast but the food on the hotline was overcooked and greasy. It wasn't very appealing, especially for $4-$5 tacos. I don't recommend. The esthetics inside seem run down and the tables were sticky. No refills.

Got there 45 mins before closing and they were out of all the meats we wanted. The people working there were all cleaning and just focused on getting out of there at 4 pm sharp, not interested in helping customers. We left without ordering and will not be back.

Sometimes you find yourself in a place that makes you pause and wonder how you got there – and what it is you were hoping to discover. We traveled to Houston with the intention of exploring its fine dining scene, particularly the Mexican influences woven into the city’s culinary landscape. High on our list was Tatemó, a Michelin-starred gem with just 18 seats and a bring-your-own-wine policy – both charming and rare. With a single knock on the door, we were warmly welcomed by a passionate host who walked us to our table and introduced the evening’s menu with genuine enthusiasm. What followed was nothing short of a flavour rollercoaster. The meal began with a beautifully balanced starter and only escalated in richness and complexity with each course. We came with no expectations and were completely swept away by the depth of earthy, culturally rooted flavours paired with fresh, vibrant ingredients that made each dish sing. One particular course – delicate, sweet, and almost sushi-like in its elegance – caught us completely off guard in the best possible way. We still talk about this meal. And we hope to return in September, drawn back by a dining experience that left a lasting impression we won’t soon forget.

Great experience. Impeccable service. Food was a delight. The concept is very unique. Wife and I left satisfied but not stuffed to the brim. Each course was unique and flavorful. Definitely worthy of the James Beard Award and Michelin Star. Pictures of each course are attached and you will see I may have taken a bite before the picture was taken.

We were super impressed with the creativity and taste of the dishes we had! We came to celebrate my partner's birthday so we brought a bottle of wine since they only have non-alcoholic drinks. We did try the De La Calle Tepache grapefruit lime flavor and it was great! The first dish of the tasting menu, Tostada de Tuna, was the best thing I've ever had with caviar. I could've eaten 10 of those! The Taco de Pescado was absolutely delicious as well! The portions were perfect, and we were pleasantly satisfied by the end of the night.

All I can say is wow wow wow!! Tatemo is a quiet, quaint and elegant atmosphere all at the same time. Carrying a Michelin star, the food was outstanding, ranging from a Tuna Tostada topped with Russian caviar, a Wagyu Beef Encachetada with just the perfect amount of marbling to leave your mouth drooling, and ending on a Postre de Temporada (Toasted Pineapple and Mango Sorbet, Mascarpone, Pistachio, Chamoy, Hoya Santa Nicutole, & Olive Oil)… just to call out a few of the courses. Everything absolutely made from scratch, screams to the passion of Chef Emmanuel Chavez’s love for his food and attention to detail. The servers are amazing and completely versed in every bite that you will be taking and will guide you through this culinary journey. And lastly, for the atmosphere… As you walk in, you really do not know what to expect as the front has no markings or sign on the restaurant, adding to its mystique. When you walk in, it is a very intimate setting, seating a maximum of maybe 18 people, reservation only; it is very quiet and quite relaxing. Definitely an adults only environment due to the sheer elegance of the food and environment. If you’re going to be in Houston, you’re going to want to make it a priority to get reservations as soon as possible, since they are at a premium… completely worth it! I definitely see a second Michelin Star in the future of Tatemo! Chef Emmanuel… I hate that I didn’t get to shake your hand, but I will leave you with this… Well Done!!!

We arrived at Tatemo and weren't sure we had actually arrived. We were a bit confused and lost in finding the restaurant. (We drove past it twice and didn't realize where it was until the doors opened and saw other patrons leaving). Aside from the marquis sign reading "Tatemo, "...the building is not marked. It's across the street from Karbach Brewery. Rest assured you have arrived. We were 30 minutes early for our reservation, and decided to head in to use the restroom and take a few pictures. However, seating is extremely limited, and interior is dimly lit with majority of lighting coming from candles. There is one restroom for the venue, and it was occupied, so we were asked to wait in our vehicle. We left up the street to use the restroom, and returned 10 minutes prior to our reservation. Thankfully, our table was ready, so we were immediately seated. The food is good. In fact, very good. The tostada was the best I've ever had. Same for the salsas. Talk about any explosion of flavor!! The red salsa was where it's at, such a rich and nutty flavor (reminds me almost of a good pesto, but red and spicy). Also notable was the encachetada. The wagyu ribeye was out of this world soft and tender. That was quite an experience! I could eat a dozen of the Bunuelos. (Probably not, but Mama didn't raise a quitter, so I'd sure try!) There was a couple seated at the bar, and the young man proposed to his date. It was wonderful, and really made the whole night celebratory. The staff did a fantastic job at making those guests (and really all of us in the restaurant) feel special. The newly engaged couple was celebrated and cheered on by the whole restaurant, and chef Emmanuel came around and provided conversation and celebratory shots to each patron to celebrate love. We were very grateful to be a part of this night. It did indeed feel magical! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our date night. The food was great, as was the personal attention of Chef Emmanuel. I am hopeful that Emmanuel and his team can continue on with their success and expand into an environment worthy of their food and services.

Exceptional service and great experience at Tatemó! The unassuming-low key vibe keeps all the focus on the food…exactly where it needs to be! Each course was unique and full of flavor. The staff is welcoming and fun. We loved every minute of our dinner.

The service and the atmosphere are good. Unfortunately, the food was plane and had not flavor. Is a self ordered and on the screen that recommends (extra cheese for $2) and ( guacamole for $4). I definitely don't recommend any of the 2 extras. The extra cheese definitely takes away the little flavor the birria has, and the guacamole is just generic smashed avocado with no flavor or even salt or chips to accompany. It tastes like the ones pre made from supermarkets. I don't think I will come back.

Oh darn it, because dishes were so enticing, I forgot to take photos of them once I received them 🤪😋 The guy at the front register was patient and kind. The music from the private event was very loud, so it was hard to hear. Typically, when I order quesabirria, I look for how good their consomé is and how good their sauces are. Tonight, I was like the Goldilocks who found the perfect consomé - not too salty, oily, or dense - I was truly thrilled finishing every drop of it (it was on the smaller side). This consomé took everything to the next level especially for the tamales. Their tamales were the best I have ever tried. To my surprise, they were pretty big and moist. Still, I poured plenty of the green sauce & consomé all over my tamale. Even though initially I was lamenting that they didn't have more sauce variety like other places, but everything (green sauce, consomé, side veggies, and the tamale or quesabirria) blended so well together, the need for some red and other types of sauces dissipated. I still could use more consomé though, because it was literally like a super yummy beef soup for me personally 😍 I also got a large mango juice. I asked for less ice, and it was completely filled to the top 🙌🏻 I do appreciate that! It was super refreshing and not too sticky sweet, which I loved. This is a fun location, yet it's also family friendly! I can't wait to go back, get some tamales again, try their birria burger, and take more photos!

AMAZING quesobirria, the barbacoa was really tender and the consume was a flavour bomb. The churros were good, a little more cake-like than I'm used to but still really crispy and tasty. I would definitely recommend this place!

First time coming here trying to branch out because I eat Birria twice a week from the same spot so I decided to give them a shot. Definitely not worth the money you spend. It was a nasty, sloppy, cheesy, soggy mess. Then they put it on paper in the box and the greasy sloppy mess absorbs all of the pink dye on the paper. Not only was the food not anything to return for but specifically my experience picking up my food too. I placed my order in advanced through grub hub, I got there , there was one person standing there on his phone I can only assume he ordered already and was waiting for his food and I could see only one employee at the time and he was working the grill. So I stood at the counter and waited for him to finish so he could acknowledge me and I can get the food. He looks back 2 or 3 times never opened his mouth. I can (but painfully) overlook that part but what gets me is another lady walks up and stands beside me and we’re all standing there for 2-3 minutes more the guy turns around again packs an order then ask the lady that came after me how he could help her. He gives her her order, doesn’t acknowledge me or even look my way then gets back on the grill. Another employee finally comes around the corner and ask if I was picking up which I confirmed I told him my name twice and ultimately ended up having to showing him my screen for him to determine what order I was trying to pick up. Overall nasty food and a less than desirable experience I definitely won’t be back.

I had THE best tacos I’ve every had IN MY LIFE! I believe they were called Birria Tacos and I chose the Birria meat as the filling and I opted for the extra cheese… wow wow wow. I will go home and dream about those tacos lol. 10/10 highly recommend.

Had some amazing food in Houston, but Boombox Taco was by far the best!! Great customer service, awesome truck—and amazing menu! The tacos al pastor and quesadilla were great, and the red sauce was absolutely to die for!!

Visiting from out of town and stopped at the truck yard and there was boombox tacos! It was the Juicy Angus Steak tacos for me, seasoned to perfection!! If you're ever in Houston, make sure you try to find them. You won't be disappointed.

I used Boombox Taco to serve my guests at my 90s theme party this past Saturday, perfect touch to my theme! The Guys were great, had everyone laughing! At the end of the party my guests were raving about the Tacos! They were delicious! Many people said the best they’ve had in Houston!!!! I love their dripped fries. I always get them. The tacos are good too.My only issue with them is that their order status is never accurate. Whenever I'm finally told to come get my food it's been sitting for 5 or 10 minutes at least.

Love this place!! I don’t understand any of the bad reviews because every time I come here with my friends or fam I literally have a great experience. I don't usually leave reviews but, i visit this location yesterday and i didn't like the experience. Food flavors 5/10 and pricing is just way over price. The Elote cost $4 and its super small and it dont even come with mayo. It looks really good in pictures but over all my personal opinion this food truck deserves 1⭐️ out of 5⭐️.

Genuinely the worst experience i have ever had at a food place. I placed an order online, got a confirmation it was ready and everything. I go up to the taco truck and show him my confirmation and the man plain out says I can’t have my food. After 5 minutes of back and forth he was laughing and just saying i couldn’t have it and should just leave after showing him proof. He continued to laugh as I asked to speak to the manager and once again he just straight out told me no. After arguing for what felt like forever he finally gave it to me and flipped me off on the way out. Never supporting this place again I do not recommend at all and the food was soggy.

No cap, if you like bland, tasteless tacos that are hella greasy, this is the place for you! I’ve had better $2 tacos at numerous food trucks around Houston. Don’t be fooled by the line, food truck park location or the cute signage! Not worth it at all. 🌮🚫🚫🚫 btw I tried the chicken tacos. (Never again.)

Don't believe the hype. I bought the birria tacos and a nacho plate and was several disappointed. Consume was horrible and so was the ricos cheese on these nachos. Meat was tender but bland af. Can't believe I waited so long for food I didn't even finish. Overpriced and very over hyped

This is the worst birria spot I have ever tried. Their food isn’t remotely close to what they advertise, their prices are way to high for the quality they serve, and real elote is more than opening a can of corn and crushing some stale hot Cheetos on top. Nothing about this place is authentic and the service was terrible. Save yourself the time and money.

Amazing!! I came for brunch, the food was so amazingly delicious!! Every single thing I tasted was perfect. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the brunch buffet. We had mimosa pitchers and enjoyed the live music and service from the bartender Ashley who went above and beyond with her service. I highly recommend the brunch. I will be back!! And don’t listen to the hostess who may tell you brunch buffet is only for reservations. Had we listened, we would’ve left instead we sat at the bar and were still able to enjoy the buffet.

Our waitress Samantha was so kind and attentive. We showed up before they opened and they let us inside and were so kind. The manager was on top of everything and obviously cared about the guests. It was a wonderful experience and everyone who went has been raving about it.

Nacho and Alex C took care of us tonight at Caracol tonight. One of the most amazing dining experiences ever!!!! I should have taken more pictures of the drinks and dishes! Probably the best whiskey sour I've ever had on top of some magical cocktails that are just in the bartenders head. Never made it to the main courses, but highly recommend!!!

Went for a birthday but bday boy didn’t receive anything special. Sunday brunch with unlimited oysters. The toppings should be on the side or have a naked option. Couple of oysters had shells and I’m glad I didn’t chip my tooth. Roasted oysters is not part of the aye so we ordered one for the table.

Sunday Brunch was $45 for adults and $15 for kids. They had tamales, mini taquitos, meats and some potato/corn/paella for carbs. They also have bay scallops and oysters in a separate area. Dessert table had ample samplings. Overall, food was just average. Nothing that really made me think of wanting to go back. I prefer Hugo's by a smidge. The only thing that stood out for me was their margarita. Pass on the Sangria. The interior was lovely, though. There was a live band right by the entrance/buffet area, which was nice. One can still hold conversation without screaming over another. Validated parking in the garage next door

First time going and wish I could go back again. The food was excellent of the 4 of us that went no one had anything bad to say about the food. It came out in a timely fashion the flavors were bold and savory. I'm extremely sad to here they are closing in a few months after 44 years of service to the community. The vibes were amazing they had some music going a "band" with harp and guitar that came around to the tables, they did some happy birthday songs and a few others. The drinks were strong and well worth the price. I don't think I have enough words to say how good this restaurant really was. If you are thinking of going, go immediately you won't be upset. The waiters were friendly and service was A++. I would highly recommend and return.

First time visiting today after wanting to for a while. Very nice restaurant, inside and out. Clean and inviting with a very friendly staff. Complementary chips and salsa (deal breaker for me) was excellent!! This time I ordered the Carnitas Tacos and they were absolutely delicious. I’ll be back!

This place was amazing, super authentic and will be returning all the workers are amazing. Mauricio was our waiter, he went above and beyond with attending us. We ended up getting margaritas they were delicious. We also got tacos and flautas, they were super delicious. This was was 20/10 everything went above and beyond

Atmosphere 10/10 Customer service 20/10 I have never been to a restaurant where the whole staff is very attentive. Our drink never ran out, before we knew it waiter was bringing a new one. A manager walked by talked to us, he was such a vibe!! Loved the energy! 20/10 Overall definitely will be back.

44 years in business and I heard they were closing down soon. I went to support them and to try out their fajitas. There seems to be more people and customers showing up because they extended the closing until Jan. 2026. I was happy to hear this. The fajitas were great. I selected the beef and chicken combo. I liked the decor inside. The staff was friendly and helpful. More people should show up here. Great place for lunch, happy hour or dinner.

I've been going to Pico's since the 80s when they were at their other location on Bellaire Blvd. It's always been excellent. They use great ingredients, and the vibe is always festive and friendly. Their queso flameado, salsas, enchiladas, Chile relleno, and tacos are all very good. They would easily be the best Mexican food in most cities in the US. But Houston has a lot of serious competition. The soft shell crab is world class, best I've ever had.

When I saw the menu prices, I expected a service or the food would be pretty decent. First, the waiter wouldn't bring the little plates foe the chips until after we had ordered. I ask for it multiple times and he just said I'll bring them.I'll bring them. My spinach salad was horrible. Drenched in so much balsamic vinaigrette it was hard to eat. The steak fajitas that I paid extra nine dollars for, were tough/chewy. My friend asked for charro beans and they brought her the wrong kind. They charged over seven dollars for a glass of bottled lemonade. We had to ask multiple times for to-go containers And and then for a to go drink container. I asked for 3 soups to go. ( I ordered them at the beginning.Otherwise, I wouldn't have ordered anything else from this place) Even that they got wrong! I ordered one chicken soup, one green pozole and one red pozole. I got the chicken, which wasn't even closed well and it's spilled in my truck , and two red pozoles. No Green. When it was time to check out the waiter was right there next to me holding the credit card machine while I finished the transaction. I went to the bathroom and the stalls smelled like urine. I am never coming back and i'm not recommending this place to anybody. The chips were good.

Irma’s is the place to go for great food, a fun atmosphere and a family run scratch kitchen! The lemonade is a must! Don’t ask for a menu because they don’t have one. It is also a visual delight! Everything is homemade and fresh. I can’t wait to return to try more things!

Yes Irma’s Original…a quaint little restaurant in the shadow of the Ball Park. The food is just good....but the question is how much would you pay for this plate of Carne Asada. $25? $35? $45? If you guessed $45, you'd be correct. Sometimes it’s $55 depending on who your server is. My suggestion is to avoid eating at Irma's unless of course you have unlimited funds and don't mind being a victim instead of a patron. For years, Irma's Original had great food, and I loved visiting with the owner Irma. It was an authentic little place to eat before a game or just have a nice lunch. Now the place is nothing more than a major tourist trap. When you arrive, you are told they have no menus. They tell you what they have that day and you pick one. When you ask how much, they say "not so much". Ok that's strange but I've been here before and it’s always been about $25-$30 per entree. Then they bring you guacamole and queso that you didn't order and say "it's best of the house' in a heavy accent which you assume he said "it's on the house" What you don't know is that queso just cost you $50. Yes $50. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but it's not amazing, It's just good. But when they deliver the check, it just a total amount. Not itemized, just a total. And that total for four people could be $195, maybe $200 or higher. When you ask for an itemized receipt, they refuse. If you google them, you’ll find theyhave been doing this for few years and thousands of people have reported paying as much as $500 for a table of 4. Wow. Of course, Irma's or any other restaurant for that matter, has the right to charge whatever they want for their food and you have the option to eat there or not. But to hide their prices and then force patrons into paying outrageous prices is not only wrong, its illegal.

A friend recommended this place and i throughly enjoyed every bit of it. Everythingfrom the drinks (alcohol and non alcohol) to the food, to the attentive service was great. Just know if you don't want the specials of the day, you have a nice variety of enchiladas to choose from. Also know that if you need to know the prices of every thing that you're ordering this may not be the place for you because you will not know your total until you get your ticket. You either want the delicious banana pudding or not. (Trust me you do)

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I highly recommend going with someone who knows what to order because not only do they not have a menu, but it also seems to change frequently. Most of the options are traditional Mexican dishes. As soon as we sat down, they brought out chips with salsa, queso, and guac—all of which were really good! Then they served us tamales (my first time trying them—they were okay). Since this is a family-owned restaurant, they seem to focus on a cozy, homey vibe, which makes sense because apparently, most Mexican restaurants don’t serve tamales. They also gave us this delicious and refreshing fruit juice with watermelon, pineapple, and other tropical flavors. I loved it! My boyfriend got the same thing, but as a margarita, and the portion was huge. Again, they don’t have a menu—you sit down, and they tell you what’s available. I guess it changes often, but I did feel like the choices were limited. There were only four dishes offered when we went. In the photos below, I got the dish with the darker sauce and chicken, while my boyfriend got the same thing as a half-portion, paired with another dish that had a lighter sauce. That one was actually really good! Mine was okay, but the flavor was a bit too strong for me. The chicken itself was well-cooked, though. After that, they gave us tres leches to-go. Not my favorite, but I know a lot of people love it. Looking back, the price point was on the higher side. I didn’t really notice at the time because I was just focused on lunch, but our total came out to around $100 for two meals and two drinks. It’s not outrageous, considering the portions were generous, but I had no idea how much each item cost. It would make more sense if they were more transparent with pricing.

The lentils were a nice little appetizer! The chile relleno was amazing! Carne guisada was so tender. Chicken enchilada was so good with the homemade corn tortilla. The dessert was good. It was our first time there and afterwards we noticed that everybody had the same drink. I asked a waitress what it was and she said fruit lemonade. She gave me a taste and it was absolutely delicious! I wish they had a menu with prices.

First time there and my last time. The atmosphere was unique and enjoyable, the service was great. The food was authentic and very small portions. The flavor was good and presentation good. Two bad things are No Menus or Pricing. What I expected was about $20 a plate. Ended up spending $100 without tip. 2 teas, 1 enchilada, 2 tamales , rice and about 2 tablespoons of charro beans, small quacamole, about 3 tablespoons of queso. The other plate was small red snapper over rice with spinach, about 2 tablespoons of charro beans. We had to ask for itemized pricing on the ticket they brought and they didn't like doing it but we insisted. Extremely pricey, very small portions, not worth the price!

Great place and great service BUT.... We paid 105$ for 3 people. That was 3 meals 2 waters, 1 tea and a side of guacamole. I let my daughter use my card to pay and by the time I walked up I caught a glimpse of the itemized bill and only saw the plate prices. I believe I it was 20$, 25$ & 30$. Not sure how much the guacamole was or the tea. Surely it wasn't 30$. I am not sure if tip was included but I left one because of the food and service was good but WOW. Took me by surprise.

I was visiting from out of town for the Beyonce concert in June 2025. This place was recommended by some locals so I decided to check it out. The food was delicious, we got the tacos and the steak dish. Daisy was our server and she was warm, welcoming, and took time to explain the menu.

Great service! The food is good but I have tried better Mexican food. The atmosphere is great, there was 2 singers playing Spanish and English songs. I do think that this restaurant is some how overpriced, $24 for a Pambazo 🤯 $18 for Pozole 🧐 Automatic gratuitity for tables of 6 ppl (20%) Inside it was freezing cold. This are my opinions but go ahead and judge yourself 😉

Loved the food at Cuchara, super authentic and full of flavor. The place has a great vibe and the service was friendly. Definitely a spot I’d go back to when craving real Mexican food in Houston.

The food is always outstanding. All the employees, not just our server, are always going above and beyond. Love this little gem!

I found out about this restaurant from Reddit. A lot of people were speaking highly about it on there so we decided to look it up. We were happy to see that high ratings on Google. We decided to go. The food was definitely as good as we expected based on the description on Google and Reddit. But we also were pleasantly surprised with the ambiance, the service and really everything about the entire experience. The posole was really good. Same with the guacamole, tacos campechanos, and the margarita de jamaica. We would definitely go back for the service and the food. The added bonus was the live music. There were two guitarists walking around to each table for song requests. Let me tell you, their guitar skills and singing was quite exceptional! We stayed at the restaurant longer that anticipated because we wanted to keep listening to the really good music. All in all, 10 out of 10. We are most definitely going back to try some more food and listen to some good music. If you are tired of the same ole tex-mex and looking for some really good mexican food, definitely come here! highly recommend Cuchara and can’t say enough great things about this fine establishment!

Authentic Mexican kitchen, ask for the specials since they had Torra de Chilaquiles con Milanesa this time and it was not on the menu as well as the traditional Chiles en Nogada as a special.

Customer service was great, food was plentiful and delicious. We ordered the fajitas with short ribs, steak, chicken, and shrimp. I think the tortillas were homemade and delicious. Chips and salsa didn't disappoint. The order was enough for 3 people to share, but the food could use a little more seasoning. I definitely recommend trying this place you are guaranteed to find something on the menu to your liking. The frozen margaritas were delicious also!

It's a relatively affordable, authentic Tex-Mex experience in the heart of Houston Heights. I would say the pros are their fresh handmade tortillas are very good, their menu is on the cheaper end compared to most other sit-down Tex Mex places, and the menu is huge with lots of variety. The con I would say is the quality can sometimes be hit or miss but probably comes with the cheaper price tag. Still would come back! Their fajita meat was a bit thinner and not as juicy as I would've liked but still had good flavor Waitresses are friendly and ambience is great and authentic

Excellent meal was had for a reasonable price. The menu is extensive. Carnitas were awesome and a generous portion. They offer homemade corn and flour tortillas. My companion loved the enchiladas so much that we had to wait until he ate every last one. No desserts this time. Definitely recommend.

I visited this place after reading positive reviews, but my experience was just okay. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the overall experience better. However, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly good either. It was just decent. I wouldn’t be disappointed if I ate there again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. The prices are a bit high, but considering the area, rent is probably not cheap. You could find comparable food elsewhere for less. One major disappointment was the fresh waters. They were not fresh at all. You could tell they were made using a powder or some kind of syrup. The flavor was almost non-existent, and the flavors that did exist tasted artificial. I asked for a tamarindo water, and it was awful. I asked for it to be switched to a lemonade, and it was just as bad. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend traveling to this place to eat. I would only recommend it if you’re nearby and want some decent but not great Tex-Mex. I don’t drink, so I can’t comment on the alcoholic beverages. Also, this place is very loud. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you want to have a quiet conversation.

Overall, the food was good and arrived in a timely manner. The chicken was moist and well-prepared. However, my salad was served on a hot plate, which made it warm—not ideal. Fortunately, the waitress replaced it promptly and without any issues. I did have some difficulty communicating the problem to the server, as her English was limited.

I came in on a rainy day and it was pretty busy. There’s tons of seating but it is a little crowded. I came in with a large party and the service was good and accommodating to us. The woman was very kind and helpful. I got a chicken quesadilla and it was light, flavorful, and delicious. The nachos were also very good. I had an horchata and it wasn’t super flavorful but it was refreshing for sure. My family got a quail dish, not the biggest fan but it was a new thing for us to try at a Mexican restaurant. Overall, not bad.

Teotihuacan Mexican Cafe is hands-down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming. Gorgeous ambiance! The beautiful dining is room surrounded by glass looking out at the trees while listening to guitar music and dining on scrumptious food - what’s not to love!!?? We had the grilled shrimp, the green enchiladas, and of course the Churros - complimented with mimosas & French 75’s. The service is top-notch - it was absolutely the right choice before we headed to the Houston Ballet. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Went to Flora for dinner with my husband & daughter this evening & everything was FABULOUS!!! From the decor, ambiance, food & cocktails to our amazing waiter Gustavo. For our appetizers we had the octopus (AMAZING), a dozen oysters on the half shell, and the beef fajita nachos. For our entrées, we had the milanesa and the mole enchiladas. My husband and I had margaritas for our cocktails. Everything was absolutely delicious!

If I could choose one restaurant to go to every day, it would be Flora. It’s my go-to for all occasions: birthdays, anniversary dinners, showing off Houston to guests. The moment you walk in, the place feels magical. The chandeliers sparkle above you, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows let in soft light and views of the greenery outside. The décor blends elegance and warmth in the most beautiful way. The service is always so welcoming and attentive. Every time I visit, I hope to get Jireth as my server. She’s kind, observant, and always makes sure our drinks stay full and our table stays taken care of. She truly makes me feel seen. Food-wise, the carnitas are perfection. The beans are some of the best I’ve had, and the homemade tortillas are excellent. And Flora’s margarita The Grant? Pure magic! A spicy hint from jalapeño, balanced with perfect reposado and mezcal. Flora honors authentic Mexican food while adding creative touches. My taste buds are always surprised and delighted. Every time I leave, I already can’t wait to come back. Flora is a must for anyone visiting or living in Houston.

The aesthetics are absolutely stunning. The service was good and the food was overall okay. Highlights include the oysters and the overall vibe of the restaurant. The drinks were okay and given the price point I do expect a stronger drink. My group and I ordered a huge variety of options including the special, tacos, enchiladas, several appetizers and various cocktails. One negative, I do not believe any Mexican restaurant should be charging $2.00 per salsa. As someone who’s been to countless areas of Mexico for decades, please set your expectations appropriately. I personally had to season the guacamole with salt and pepper because it was a bit bland. Overall, I’m glad we checked out this restaurant but I don’t necessarily have to come back because of the food. Parking is a hit or miss, small area to park since it’s also parking for the cyclist and walkers/runners. 1 star each for the aesthetics, oysters and server.

My boyfriend chose this restaurant for our monthly date night and it did not disappoint. From the ambiance, to the service, it gave top tier. There is someone always there to assist and serve you and our server, Desiree (Desi) was top notch. She knew the menu as if she cooked every dish herself. She knew what sauces paired well with each dish and even told us what we should try next on our next visit. She was pleasant, hospitable and gave recommendations based on my vegetarian diet. The decor was absolutely beautiful and was a perfect end to a perfect night. We will be back and we will tell our friends!

Flora is an authentic Mexican restaurant that manages to excel for its food and setting. In a city with excellent “real” Mexican restaurants, Flora distinguishes itself by featuring some delicious dishes on its menu. The tuna tostada is a standout, as are the barbacoa and carnitas. During brunch they offer a delicious and unique desert. You can taste the Pan de Elote, which is a sweet corn bread served with honey marscapone. Be advised that it sells out. Finally their bar serves delicious concoctions with flair. All of this in one of Houston’s most beautiful settings. The main dining room is lovely, but can be cool and a little loud. Their outdoor patio is a little less formal, but puts you closer to nature. If the weather is nice, sit outside. If you prefer a “buzzier” atmosphere, inside is the place for you.

I understand why this place has such high ratings and views. I got the charred octopus as my main and it is incredible. I’ve had octopus before but not like this. Exquisite. Husband had the Mole Enchiladas and he was blown away. Margaritas are fantastic and beautifully crafted.

The tacos are good. But if you want corn tortillas make sure to ring the bell. It was my first time going and I had no idea that was like a thing and one of the guys was nice enough to make the accommodation for me and get me a corn tortilla since the lady who took my order was very set on not giving me a corn tortilla. But the food was really good. Get ready to be in a really long line definitely worth it. And it sucks that they are not open on Sundays 🥲

Paid $26 for 7 tacos and 2 cocas. No line so we walked right up then again no idea there was a way for the line. Workers were friendly. Except the guy who picked up my plate even though I still had food in it and didn't even give me a chance to say "hey I'm still eating that". Tacos- the barbacoa even though they made it "a la mexicana" it lacked flavor. Same for the bacon and egg. Tortillas def need a bit more cooking. Doubt I'll be back.

Waiting in line we rang the bell to get corn tortillas for our tacos. The corn tortillas are a worthwhile upgrade. Select your filling, our group of five tried a lot of them over two breakfasts and they were all excellent. Orange juice was freshly squeezed and amazing. There will likely be a queue anytime of day, but we'll worth it.

In my personal opinion, this is the best Taco House in Houston. There are some others that definitely serve amazing tacos but the overall environment and friendliness of Titas takes it over the top. When you walk up to the big Blue house and into the front door you are immediately blown away by the amazing art painted on literally every surface of the interior. The line is usually 15+ people deep but it moves quick thanks to the amazing staff behind the serving counter. You’ll hear people converting over their tacos, spatulas tinging on the flat top and voices galore telling the staff what they want on today’s tacos. The owner and his family run Titas with the upmost personal family friendly professional personalities you’ll ever come across. It’s truly a must see Houston treasure nestled near the beautiful town of Old Humble. I’m a daily visitor due to the always changing variety of tacos that never disappoint!

Isabella does NOT need to work here, all the other employees have great attitudes. She is the downfall of the establishment, first she puts customers on hold and forgets then when we call back she tells us she was busy. I walk into the establishment only one customers sitting eating, then I ask for my order and she says she doesn’t want to give it and literally walks away leaving me at the counter ! WORSE IVE EVER HAS EXPERIENCED AT TACOS A GO GO AND I visit multiple locations ! Do better Isabella unacceptable treatment to customers !

Was in the area and stopped by here to grab a quick bite. The service was great, the cashier/server was super helpful with our questions! We got about 4 tacos and the chips and salsa, the tacos were quite big and the chips and salsa were very good. I personally thought the tacos were okay, and I also wished the sauce bar had a spicier sauce, but that is completely personal preference! Overall, the restaurants vibe was very nice and aesthetic, will definitely be back! :)

One of my favorite taco spots and I can luckily walk there! My favorite is the breakfast taco with egg whites, potatoes and onions. They have many vegan and vegetarian items available and you can customize almost everything on their menu. Interesting decor. Visually stimulating. They have karaoke every Friday too.

The tacos I got were okay, but the tater tot nachos were awesome! My family members tacos looked better, so I think I just got the wrong thing. Would definitely get the tachos (tot nachos) again. The horchata was pretty good, and the soda bottle lamps added a really cool vibe. Hope to come back if I'm in the area.

I wish I could give the restaurant a better rating, but I can't do it in good faith. The food was good (not exceptional, but pretty good overall), and the ambiance is nicely decorated, with friendly staff. But the main issue is that black mold was visible in the fountain drink station. Primarily in the ice dispenser. Since it could lead to some people getting sick, for something that is basic maintenance/cleaning, I have to give it 1 star.

it does not get more amazing than this place! for Real! it’s amazing here. the vibes are good, the holiday decore is so fun, food came out quick, the service was amazing, it looks like a restaurant not a white room. the shrimp quesadilla slaps and the mexican candy drink is top tier, trust me. I was there to hear the mariachis for Mexican Independence Day. First and foremost, the mariachis were advertised to perform from 6 to 9 p.m. The times were advertised with a flyer at the restaurant plus on Facebook. They didn't come until 7 p.m. I rushed to get there by 6 p.m. to grab a table. The place wasn't crowded at all. Perhaps it's because it was a Monday. Furthermore, I wanted to take my Dad who's in his 80s and enjoys mariachis. Through Facebook messenger, they had told me they don't reserve tables. When I arrived, a big section was reserved for the family of the owner. I understand that part. But there was a second table on the second row reserved too. I decided to order a pineapple margarita. They cost $9 with house tequila. That's pricey for the small one. And it was nothing to write home about. For my meal, I ordered black bean sopes with no onions. They're ok. They forgot the cilantro. And the sopes tend to be dry. I was craving something sweet and got a tres leches slice. Their cake is delicious. However, it didn't come with the mini Mexican flag nor colored red and green sugar it had been advertised as. My friend did enjoy her tacos thoroughly. She's Mexican and says they're really authentic. The mariachis hired to perform at the restaurant for Mexican holidays always put on a great show.

The food is ok but not phenomenal. The portion sizes are stingy and if you want something it's an up charge. Despite paying the up charge the portion is stingy and not worth paying for. In that case you are better off going elsewhere. How are you going to have a torta that typically comes with beans & cheese without those ingredients and expect the customer to pay for them? Same thing with the flautas they typically come with cream, cheese, lettuce & avocado but charge for those things? It's just not worth the hype you are most definitely better off going to an authentic Mexican restaurant.

Came here for a quick lunch. This place has plenty of seating inside and outside, you have to order at the front and then they call your order for you to come get it. The place is decorated but feels a bit stuffy. It was very warm when we were there so they definitely need to adjust their AC. The tacos came out fast and they were delicious, the salsa was spicy which I LOVE.

The food is simply delicious—my sister’s boyfriend put it best when he said, “They can’t miss.” Every dish we tried was incredibly fresh, and the seafood in particular was outstanding. The service was equally impressive. Every server we met was friendly and welcoming, and a special shout-out goes to Anita for her warm hospitality and attentive care. I would honestly return to Houston just to eat here again. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and consistent quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excellent food, great service, and true value.

Absolutely blown away by the fresh flavors and warm ambience here. I tried the ceviche verde at my server’s recommendation, which was an extremely generous portion and so full of flavor and texture. Then i had the tamal delote with shrimp and bacon which is one of the best entrees I’ve ever had. So creamy and garlicky and delicious! I wish I lived in Houston and could come here again

Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff! We tried a few things and loved them all. This is the first time I've had octopus and really enjoyed it. Food was very fresh, rich and delicious! Drinks were good, too. Ask for their spicy salsas for an extra kick! Absolutely loved the staff.

My wife and I stopped by The Fisheries for lunch and were immediately struck by the vibrant, colorful atmosphere it’s a lively spot that sets the tone for a fun meal. Once seated, we were served complimentary chips with tomatillo salsa. The salsa was spot on: tangy, fresh, and full of flavor. The chips, however, felt like they came straight out of a bag not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. We started with the tuna tostadas. The tuna itself was fresh and well prepared, but the tostada base was a little stale, and the chipotle mayo lacked any real chipotle flavor. For our mains, my wife had the ribeye tacos with rice and beans, and I went with the pulpo a la parrilla. Honestly, it felt like these two dishes came from completely different kitchens. The ribeye tacos were fine nothing particularly memorable and the sides didn’t elevate the plate. But the octopus? That was a home run. Tender, flavorful, and beautifully complemented by vegetables and yuca. The guajillo salsa tied everything together perfectly. It was the kind of dish that makes you pause and appreciate every bite. Despite a few misses, we’d definitely come back to explore more of the menu. If the octopus is any indication, there are gems to be found.

I grew up with rice and beans, but holly cow, these are the best I have eaten in my entire life! The chips, the tacos, the sauce, the tamarind margarita, the oysters - were absolutely phenomenal. But let’s talk about the service… My girl Anita seriously gave the best customer service I have received nationwide; and I am a traveler! Her politeness, her professionalism, and friendliness seriously made our date night even better. I must add, the host and the table server were also super sweet. We stopped by for date night and loved everything. This is authentic and creative Mexican in the heart of Houston. I got the guava mango margarita. It is sweet but not sickly. The presentation for everything is amazing. We also got the guacamole and were overwhelmed with how fresh and perfect it paired with the beef topping - a must try. Both my husband and I tried the ribeye aguachile. I have never had ribeye this way, it was seared to a perfect medium and served in a perfect poblano sauce with lime, cucumber, and avocado chunks. It was a food pairing I am dying to try to recreate. Our server, Anita, was amazing; she was friendly, gave great suggestions, and attentive. This is a must try for happy hour or date night.
