In love with their sweet potato fries! It’s reaaally good!! It’s crispy but somehow tender as well.. well seasoned! Fried to perfection! We had it with truffle mayo dipping sauce, which was a great decision! Oh and their hotdogs (?) were tasty as well. We had the lax one (salmon) and the black tiger one. I like the black tiger one better.. the buns tho.. the buns win! It’s grilled to crispy but also soft and taste buttery and.. just good. But I’ll proly come again just for their sweet potato fries hahaha. And maybe try the fish and chips cause the fish looks really good in the picture. We came here around 6PM and was quickly seated, but when we left, we saw huge line.. soo, plan your visit maybe :). Anyhoo, overall really nice place with good food, nice and friendly service (they gave us a complimentary shot which was nice). Recommended!

We chose this place for dinner on a Sunday. The place wasn't too crowded; it was quiet. It has an industrial, slightly dim atmosphere. We tried the black tiger roll and fish and chips. Both were delicious. The fish and chips portion, in particular, was quite large. My only criticism is that the fries were a bit too salty. The roll, while delicious, was extremely difficult to eat. Everything inside starts to fall out the moment you bite into it. The service was friendly and quick enough. The portions were filling, and the prices were reasonable. I don't know if there was a special issue that day, but they didn't accept card payments. This is a bit confusing in our day and can be a significant drawback. Other than that, it's a positive place and worth trying.

The fish & chips were amazing! The fish was fresh, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The atmosphere is a bit casual, but enjoyable. The staff are warm and friendly. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy fresh seafood. Although it’s a bit far from the city center, it’s definitely worth the trip. They also have other branches in Hamburg that are worth trying as well.

This place left me really good vibes. The tiger pravn roll and fries were excellent. The dirty upgrade was hot, but not too much. The sweet chili dip the waiter recommended was also great. Fries were also excellent. The place resembles more like a bar than a restaurant with graffitis and industrial style. The waitress was very nice and was not hesitate to recommend the rolls. She also gave me a hint how to eat it (like a hot dog). Overall I felt very welcome, everything was so easy, and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

I had to walk 15 minutes to this restaurant. When I arrived there was a queue outside. I waited extra 5 minutes there too. But my experience totally worthed them all. It is a small cozy place with rustic furniture. It is usually crowded. You better book a table before you go. Service employee were so kind and professional. Meal served fast enough. I chose 'kleine' portion, but it was already fulfilling enough. Fish were crunchy outside and juicy inside. It was unbelievably DELICIOUS!! They serve home made sauces, I had mayo and it was well balanced and delicious as well. Thank you all the staff for perfect experience. From now on restaurant is my only favourite for fish and chips

Was very excited to try after all the reviews and I knew I stumbled upon a star when it's filled with locals. Restaurant was full but had outdoor/garden tables and braced the heat cos I really wanted to eat. It was so good I wished I didn't had breakfast. Must try if you're in Hamburg!

I heard a lot about this fish restaurant in Hamburg and I can tell you it’s not a fishy story! It’s a wonderful gem of a place historic in many ways and I believe they’ve been making the best fried fish since 1938. I went there on a Friday and Friday has to be the busiest day for fish it’s a religious tradition amongst others there’s a queue, a long queue but it’s worth it. Inside you have table service outside it’s self service the choices are just right if you come for anything apart from fried fish don’t bother because they do only the best fried fish in Germany! Try it with fries or traditionally served with potato salad tasty.. it’s a dream! Friendly service no frills authentic interior if you like fried fish you’ll love it here.

1/5 Stars for Rathaus branch- Humiliating Treatment by Staff** The food quality was decent, but I’m giving one star due to an absolutely unacceptable service experience that ruined our visit. Initially, the staff member at the case who took our order was excellent - polite, helpful, and took time to explain the menu in English while offering dining options. However, when we inadvertently sat in what may have been the wrong section (which wasn’t clearly marked), another female server approached us in the most unprofessional manner imaginable. Instead of politely directing us to the correct area, she began shouting and treating us like we didn’t belong there. Her aggressive behavior was so loud and hostile that other diners stopped eating to watch this uncomfortable scene unfold. We were essentially humiliated and forced to leave the dining area, taking our food outside where we had to eat in the rain. While a male server appeared more understanding when my wife spoke to him, he remained passive and didn’t intervene to resolve the situation professionally. A simple “Excuse me, this section is reserved, but you’re welcome to sit over there” would have solved everything. Instead, we were treated with complete disrespect. No customer should ever be shouted at or humiliated, especially over what appears to have been an honest mistake about seating arrangements. Management needs to address this staff member’s behavior immediately and provide proper customer service training. The contrast between the helpful order-taker and the hostile server shows this isn’t a restaurant-wide issue, but rather one individual who shouldn’t be in a customer-facing role.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The food here was really delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared – truly a place that lives up to its reputation when it comes to fish dishes. However, I had a rather disappointing service experience. I kindly asked the waiter if I could switch my tea to a coffee, and his only reply was “it’s ready”. In the end, I just received a cup of hot water with a teabag, which felt very underwhelming, especially in such a well-known restaurant with such great cuisine. I really hope the management improves the service quality to match the outstanding food.

I had a wonderful experience at this seafood restaurant! The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, especially the soupe. As someone from the UK, I had to face the horrible experience of seeing how they serve our traditional English fish & chips. Here it is made in the poorest way. They think that fish & chips is only to fry some fish and put them on top of fried potatoes. Also, the waitress needs to learn English good manners. Bad bad bad.

Solid simple seafood in what is practically a Hamburg stalwart. The fish soup is good and their fish is generally decent though without any additional seasoning or finesse. The prices are also alright for what’s smack in the middle of downtown Hamburg.

Fish Soup in Hamburg I only tried the fish soup — but it left a great impression! The soup was packed with a variety of seafood, not just fish, which made it much more flavourful than I expected. A squeeze of lemon juice really brought out the natural taste of the seafood. It came with a few slices of bread, and although I ordered the small size, the portion was quite satisfying. I also got a side of potato salad, which was a nice complement — simple but tasty. To be honest, the fish soup is the real highlight here. It won’t blow your mind, but it’s comforting, well-made, and worth trying if you’re nearby. That said, if you’re short on time, you’re not missing a once-in-a-lifetime experience — but you also won’t regret giving it a go.

A nice restaurant in Hamburg's Altstadt district. You can find a variety of seafood, and the food is quite fresh and delicious. Prices are a bit above average. I couldn't get my hands on the fast food, so I'm still eyeing them up. I think the fast food is more delicious. ;)

Beautiful classic fish restaurant in Hamburg - can really feel the history of the place. Fish and seafood dishes are excellent, all are very rich and buttery. Recommend the mixed starter, with 5 separate small items for variety. Service was excellent and decor very cool

The food, the wine and the service is all impeccable. We love Hamburg in general, been here several times. But you can’t miss this gem. The waiting staff is very talented in my opinion. We didn’t have to think ourselves for even a moment. Thank you!

I have no idea what other people are eating when they say "world class"... but that was NOT our experience. Smoked Eel and scrambled egg was a novelty for a non-native and surprisingly, very pleasant. Everything we ate after that was a dissapointment. Staff were pleasant, if somewhat erratic and MIA, which is hard to fathom as there are a LOT of staff on the floor. My wife was really looking forward to a good Sole Meunière - unfortunately, over cooked, (seemingly either shallow or possibly deep fried, but didnt taste like it was done in butter?) the flesh was dry and the whole fish was presented naked, on a bare plate with a jug of what looked and tasted like a mix of hot vegetable oil and (possibly?) butter that she was to "dress" it with... ? Not great value for money at €75. (NB Had my wife insisted that I "not make a fuss" I would have sent both her's and mine back) The North Sea Turbot I had @€69.50 was equally dissapointing. Again it appeared to have been over cooked and possibly deep fried as it had a hard "shell" of flour or a batter of some sort all over it? The flesh inside was tasteless. The "mess" of overcooked vegetables created the final factor in the trifecta of dissapointment that was our €300+ last meal in the beautiful city of Hamburg. We were really excited to finish off our visit to Hamburg on a high note but left without finishing either main dish or the bottle of wine. We left quietly, very dissapointed and unsatisfied from what should have been, by all accounts, a sensational seafood dinner... Who knows, maybe the main chef was off on a Monday Night and they let the apprentice cook our meals?

Great place! Very good service, the only thing that made me question 5 stars is host who does not speak English. But all the waiters do speak English! Atmosphere and interior is interesting, but a bit not cozy. Food was great, a bit overpriced, as, for example, crème brûlée was not breaking properly. Overall good impression, strong 4 ⭐️

Everything was great. The food was Amazing, the service was excellent, friendly staff and chefs, nice atmosphere. We ordered 4 courses menu and some drinks. Everything was great, it was such a nice taste experience and evening. Recommended!

All in all a wonderful experience with very delicious food. The sushi was definitely special and something I never had before. The service was very forthcoming and truly professional. Even though the dining room was getting fuller by the minute, the service was right on time. The Prices were a little bit high for my taste, but not uncommon, especially in that area. The quality of the food they presented justified the prices anyhow at the end. Definitely recommendable.

The service is good, all the staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is good, nice ''industrial'' modern style. The food.......it's pretty much ''Europeanized'' sushi. For German/European standard, it's good sushi. But for Japanese standard, that's too much sause on top. Eating tempura with mayo and dipping sauce, not with dashi wasn't really for Japanese. We ordered the MIX sushi plate, all the sushi and sashimi were covered with sause, which kills the actual taste of fish, which was a bit dissapointing. Using paprika for sushi is just not a good idea. Paprika has too strong taste for sensitive sushi. Sake was good, goes well with sushi. It was very nice to have a wet hand towel, I felt like being in Japan.

The best sushi I have eaten in Germany. Really good, be aware that the price is a little bit high but it is worth it. I will come back for sure. Everything is fresh and yummy. Make a reservation because a lot of people go there , no wonder it is so delicious. Staff very friendly. Perfect for special moments.

I definitely recommend this restaurant! It was a nice surprise in Hamburg. The bread and the dip were quite good! Then I ate the fish and it was amazing! However the pasta disappointed a bit. The risotto and the tuna were also pleasant choices! All the dishes brought agreeably flavour mixes sensations, so it was good to try different dishes compared to the usual ones.

We order the course dinner but the 3tier presentation for the respective course was nice but not practicable as the food gets cold while we take time to finish. Would prefer the conventional way of serving. Appertiser; tuna tartare was good . Oyster was not clean well as it was still sandy. For the main, tuna and salmon was a bit dry. Dessert :Tiramisu was good .

So glad I returned to this very friendly and charming neighbourhood restaurant after 10 years, only wish it had not been so long. Very attentive and jovial service and a fabulous variety of fresh fish but deciding what to have was a difficult choice! Prawns, Bouillabaisse, oysters, halibut, sea bass, tuna, salmon, sea bream, pike-perch! Very glad I opted for the prawns, they were sublime, some of the best I have experienced. Followed by a mountain of aromatic mussels all washed down with copious quantities of wine - the list much improved from my previous visit. Altogether excellent value for money and definitely worth the 20 minute bus ride from the centre(Bus 6 or 17 from around the Hauptbahnhof). Highly recommended if you enjoy fish sympathetically prepared.

(Last visited 12/1/2023.) It speaks volumes of a certain restaurant when I've been to this part of the world 2 times and have eaten here 3 times. Liman truly blew us away with our first experience so we came back again and again. Here's why... Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is set in Hamburg, but a little further away from the hustle & bustle of downtown in more of a residential section, but still busier than a suburb. Reservations are recommended, but whenever we came here it never seemed busy. The inside is very modern, chic, contemporary, upscale and laid back. It was quiet and just made for a great place I would love to hang out in. Service: Apart from the food, Alice, our server was another reason we kept on coming back. She was truly amazing. She was sweet, funny, personable, made great recommendations and just had an addictive personality. Food: We've tried everything from the filet mignon, to the salmon, to the mixed grill, a series of desserts, pulpo, scallops, you name it. They never missed. This place specialized in seafood, hence its name and it nailed every single dish. My wife literally dreamt about the salmon with the pea foam or whatever it was after the first time she had it. Then the dessert! I could go on and on, but I won't since I only have so many characters to use. The food is exquisite... that's why we kept on coming back. Value: It's a seafood restaurant. Enough said. It's going to be expensive, but not suit & tie-dinner jacket required type of expensive. Bring your wallet regardless because you're going to want everything on the menu. Lol. You can guess my conclusion. Although, our friend Alice no longer works there, the food will still keep us coming back over and over to try more things on the menu every time we're in Hamburg. Lovely atmosphere and very good quality of cusine. We came here spontaneously for late Luch and didn't regret it. Owner is very friendly person.I had for my luch Grilled Dorade with Ratatouille and Truffle potatoes. Ratatouille is the best one wich I had in Germany this year. I think the secret is roasted bell papper and tomato for sauce. Taste of vegetable is so intense. So my fish was GRILLED perfectly and not loaded with salt. Very often in Germany quantity of salt to high and this is a big problem. Here everything was top. You dint need be warrid about quality. Top.Pasta with lobster was choosen by my husband. He say sause/ jus was very creamy and delicious. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente .Portions ideal for French people. Due very hot day we skipped desserts Facit :we definitely will come again.

This is a prime example of fake " fine dining" without any real skill or technique. Flashy Churchill plates and stuffy ambiance made to disguise sub par ingredients and inadequately prepared food. We started off with the prawns. The sauce was very nice..creamy, slightly spicy and seasoned just right, the prawns were standard frozen Argentinian red prawns that most restaurants use (the logic of buying frozen shrimp while being less than 100km from the north sea is beyond me) . Definitely not overcooked but a bit chewy as a consequence of the freezing. A promising start nonetheless. We ordered 2 mixed grill fish plates which lacked imagination and were utterly bland and boring, zero salt..zero pepper.The skin was soggy which isn't really acceptable for a restaurant specialized in fish cookery? Mashed potatoes were lumpy and dense and the mangold (chard) completely unseasoned. What a shame

Soups were interesting and tasty. The main dishes were not so good: eggs with Krabben were overdone; Labskaus was standard. The atmosphere and service were ok, but nothing special. And for all of this the price was too high...

This is a place, if you want to taste authentic north-german food. My wife and I ordered the Hamburg Eel Soup, "Lange Anna" and Pickled Young Herring ala Helgoland. 1. Lange Anna : Flaky texture of the fish fillets. The sauce was so smooth. The cheesy and creamy flavour profile of the sauce were perfect for cold days. The basmati rice was a superb side dish to soak up the sauce. 2. Pickled Young Herring ala Helgoland : The three different sauces were the highlights of this dish. This was an acquired taste for foreign tourists though. However, this was one of the iconic dishes of North Germany. 3. Hamburg Eel Soup : The acidic taste of the soup brightened the fishy aroma. However, the restaurant could work on taste of the eel in the future. The strong freshwater aroma, especially from the skin and fat layer of the eel pieces somewhat disturbed. Slightly bigger, more eel pieces or using smoked eels instead of the fresh one could have accentuated this dish better.

From the welcome to the depafture6it was a great experience. The food was excellent. Period! The service impeccable. Did I mention that the food was excellent? It is. The decor somewhere between traditional and elegant. And they don't look down on you if you prefer beer. Did I mention that the food was excellent? It is.

Great restaurant in a beautiful location. Crayfish soup was very interesting, different to other crayfish soups I’ve had in my life - more creamy and filling rather than bouillon style. Pannfisch was absolutely delicious, the same as Lange Anna. The portions were also filling and enough. The staff was super friendly and smiley, all in all we absolutely loved it there. :)

WOW! That’s the only way I can describe this place. I’m living since long in Hamburg and this became my new favorite restaurant! The menu was delicious and all the little additional bites we got from the kitchen made it even better! Service, view, food all unbeatable! Definetly recommend

Great location on elbe River, pretty fancy location replicating the container area and with a nice view on the maritime station. The food is nice with great presentation in spite the taste might be a little bit upgraded to be really super top, I assume of they would make it they might get something lore than a mention in the michelin guide. The service is good, precise and kind in spite might be consistent overall the whole evening. If you want to impress someone than this might be your place.

It was an absolute highlight. Location is beautiful. Service outstanding and the food a fine experience of different flavors. My favorites “pulp carpaccio” and the dessert “blueberry cheesecake” it is way more than you expect.

Great foods and great suggestion of wines and liquors. Espresso martini and gin are really good. Foods are also good. We had tartar beef and yellowfin as starters and fried whole fish and deep fried prawns. The only thing I cannot give 5 stars is waiting time for food.

We did not enjoy Au Quai/Am Kai at all. In fact its one of our worst experiences of “fine dining”. Lets start with the food. We took the tasting menu which consisted of 5 dishes: 2 starters, 2 mains and a dessert. The starters (“amuse gueule” and the yellowfin tuna) were not bad. In fact we later dound out they were the best part of the meal. From there we got to the bouillabaisse - that dish was way too salty, with a broth that we could not eat. 5 pieces of fish (one of each kind) and thats it. We left it as is. The other starter was the cod. While the cod was presented nicely (picture attached) it lacked any taste whatsoever. Tasted quite dull. The jerusalem artichoke creme and fennel were also very salty. We ate it only because we were hungry. The dessert was a chocolate fondant. Not different to the one you would get in the local italian restaurant. Average by all means. From here we go to the service: - Not taking plates after theyre finished and bringing in new plates. - Water pitcher that was left empty and on the table for 30 minutes before someone took it. - Waiters unorganized, we got the desserts menu despite us ordering a tasting menu. - Napkin that was taken from my wife (maybe it was dirty?) and not returned - so she used mine for the rest of the bill. - 10 minutes to wait for the bill after sitting in the restaurant for 3 hours (theres a long waiting time between the dishes). And to top it all of, I have never ever been in a restaurant that charges €8 for water and its not even bottled! Came out of a “beer tap” into a pitcher. Filtered water? Not sure. The only bright side of the night was the bartender, the only person in the team that identified thing’s proactively and made it a little less terrible experience. Paying €200 for the food and service is not justifiable. You ruined my wifes birthday. Dishes that are presented nicely is not enough, they need to taste good as well. Will not return!

Amazingly good fish. Can be one of the best salmon I have ever eaten. The combination with gnocchi, truffle and leek, turned the dish into another level. Good pairing with a German white wine that I forgot the name of,and didn't take any picture of. The Lemon sherbet with vodka,was surprisingly refreshing,and the alcohol did not take over.

Very nice place, with a great view and vibe. The food was super delicious. We had pulpo, ceviche, codfish and another starter with tuna and beef. All were amazing. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Their recommendations helped us a lot. Definitely recommended

Really, really good restaurant. Quite expensive and some might even say, waaay too expensive... It is expensive and no Michelin stars here, but it is actually also quite good service. To be honest, our waiter was very slow to get "started up" but after "demanding his attention" a few times, he started to get the point and from there everything was great! The food tasted really good and seemed fresh. Even the oysters were fresh in taste and overall, great food experience!

The food here is a rare experience. Cooked to perfection, served by delightful staff and enjoyed with a breathtaking view of the Elbe river.

Super friendly and welcoming staff; although his English was not too good, he was very approachable and patient with us in helping to get our order through. Even checked in with us regarding the meal despite the place being packed. Grilled fish was amazing; 10/10 would return!

I ordered the fish sandwich with Bismarck Herring. The fish was very tasty. Very fresh, lightly pickled I think, went very well with the crispy bun. I didn’t speak a word of German but the staff was perfectly OK with helping me order. Very reasonable prices, the place is small but cozy, it gives you a taste of the local snack bar. It was a great budget dinner.

We found this place by chance. If you want a quick and inexpensive meal, this is the place to go. The fries and fish were really tasty, and the bottled beer was cheaper than in many other places. There isn’t much seating inside, but if you just want to grab a quick bite and keep going, it’s perfect.

The service could be a little faster, although the place was not very full, we waited at the table. However, compared to other fish places, we were able to establish a good communication with the staff and we could not get enough of the flavor of the fish.

Delicious fish for a reasonable price. I've eaten here a few times, almost every time I've visited Hamburg, and it has never disappointed. Don't expect the comfort of a restaurant but if you go for the food, I recommend it 100%.

Good food made out of fresh ingredients. Basically the only thing they serve are different variations of fish&chips: one can select any seafood options available on a counter - and they will cook it. They don’t speak English and don’t accept cash. Please note: the location isn’t cheap, the price is actually an average one for Hamburg which is 10-20 eur depending on which fish option one selected. Drinks are quite expensive as well. I’d still say it’s worth visiting if it if on your way.

It's ok. Nothing mind blowing. Don't expect to much of the calamari even when they claim they have good deep frozen products it's still not worth it. You'll get a lot of "fries" fried potatoe slices with your dish.

The place itself is quite small & doesn’t look like much from the outside and yet the food here is incredibly mouthwatering and superb value. Had the Mix Teller (mixed seafood plate) for €20. We got 6 fish-fillets plus 1 squid and salad of course. Every fish on the plate was quite tender. The potato chips are also so tasty. Would definitely come back next time. Nice place for a quick bite if you are into seafood.

Usually busy; the food is as you see when walking past, and looking at the photos here over 8 years, consistently good. No surprises. We had the mixed grill, and squid, both of which were excellent. The salmon others ordered looked fantastic, as did the shrimp and salmon (mixed request) in the cream sauce. We paid €45 for our plates, and 2 beers.

Drinks with a view! Enjoy your drink right by the Elbe and watch large container ships pass by. It‘s a good location to enjoy a sunny Sunday afternoon. We only had a drink and cannot rate their food but the service was attentive and very friendly, although there was on waiter only. We gave Ponton op'n Bulln 4 stars because the prices are quite high (0.2 l of wine for €9.50 and beer for €6.50).

I went for a walk and saw this place with the amazing river view. I stated with a local beer in the sun followed by an amazing fish soup and a glass of red wine and ended with coffee. The prices are good and the portions are big - paid less than 30 euro for all. Service was great and Bari did a fantastic job. Definitely a place to visit and the perfect spot to enjoy the sun and river life.

This was one of the best by the river restaurant that I've ever been to in my life. It was a bit pricey, but that is Hamburg for you. We sat inside as it was a bit windy outside and it was the perfect amount of cosy and homey. We ordered a fried fish and the pasta with prawns (one of the best that I ever had). I enjoyed the food and the view so much that I didn't want to leave and kept ordering dessert and coffee and all of it was sooo good.

Had a fantastic experience. The Backfisch-Brötchen that I ordered was made with fresh fish and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant's location provides a stunning view of the pier, and the staff were very friendly and attentive throughout my visit. Despite the great location, I was pleasantly surprised that the prices were not too overpriced, making it a great value for money. Additionally, I discovered that there is a ferry that goes to Cranz and sometimes Finkenwerder, which I thought was a great added bonus.

One of the things on our to-do list in Hamburg was to go to Brücke 10 and have a fish sandwich 🐟 We went there in the late afternoon—there were only 2–3 people ahead of us, so we got our food without waiting too long. Luckily, we found an empty spot outside and enjoyed our Fischbrötchen (backfisch) and beer with a view 🍻 It was truly fresh and delicious. A tasty and filling street food option at a reasonable price—a true Hamburg classic. 👌🏼

There was a separate takeaway kiosk that was super helpful in avoiding the long queue for a dine-in table. Hot but windy place so many choose to wait to sit under some shade. There’s some seating area above it as well under some umbrellas. Worth a try from the takeaway kiosk — the smoked fish was delicious with the right level of saltiness and fishiness (little)!

What else can be said about this classic? I can only vouch that it has to be a mandatory stop in your trip. Authentic and accessible, the sandwiches are fresh and flavorful. While interacting with the service is limited given the nature of the no-frills place, the contact was always friendly.

it’s the restaurant with the longest line of queuing in this area. the Bismarck sandwich is great with a bit sweet-sour taste. The shrimp sandwich is second to salmon sandwich I think. At last, a bee ruined my drink!

We stopped by Brücke 10 on recommendation, but the experience was underwhelming. Entering the terrace, we were met by a young staff member who seemed more focused on lecturing us than offering a bit of friendly information. If it hadn’t been recommended, we probably would have walked away after that. We ordered the fishball sandwich, which turned out mediocre at best. Maybe our expectations were too high, but it simply wasn’t memorable. On the plus side, the price level matches the quality – €4.60 feels fair. What really didn’t help was the number of pigeons walking around between the tables, which made it less than comfortable to enjoy the food. All in all, not a place we’d make an effort to return to.

Their service mentality, food, ambience, they obviously deserve to hear nothing but only good things. We tried 21 days dry aged Irisches Weiderind and Rumpsteak, chief prepared my steak just as I demanded; medium rare. It was perfect cooked! Irisches was with a bit more fat percentage a bit more delicious by the way. Grilled Green pepper were delicious as well and were a perfect companion to steak. French fries were crunchy enough. We drank Pinot Noir and Malbec as per Claudia's recommendation, Malbec was spicy and strong enough which perfectly fits to my taste. All the waiters and waitresses can speak perfect English btw. Ambience was crowded but not too loud, it was such a cozy and clean Restaurant. Definitely we will be back, Thank you and conguratulations for great job!

Negative experience. Confusion over having a drink before dinner seating, caused the staff to stress. They encouraged us to try their fresh chimichurri, which was brown, stale and simply not chimichurri. Maybe their version of it, and it wasn’t fresh or tasty. Piemento Padron were over cooked and lost their color. The bottle of wine we ordered arrived at the table after our food, and was already opened. We tried it. It was completely off. Clearly it had been sitting out, opened and exposed to heat. They brought another that I had to ask to be opened at the table - as it should be. This is basic stuff. The final slap was the rat trap we noticed less than half a meter from our table. Steak was great, but presentation completely absent. Not worth it. Pretty awful dining experience.

Had the pleasure of visiting estancia steaks during a hot summer day. They have a nice seating area outside, which fits a decent amount of people. The tartare looked a bit oxidized visually, but was very tasty. The beef was ordered rare but was probably closer to a medium rare. The sear is great and gives it that umami flavor. Overall a very good spot and I understand the popularity of the place.

I disagree with some of the previous reviews regarding the pricing. I find this restaurant very reasonably priced for the level of quality, service and ambiance. I absolutely love this restaurant!!! The food quality is outstanding, and the service is incredible. Claudia and her team provide service that is fantastic. The ambiance is great as well. Do not pass up the chance to eat here. I ate here twice in one week while attending a conference in Hamburg.

Finding truly delicious seafood dishes in Germany is often considered quite challenging, and locating an excellent seafood restaurant can be even more difficult. However, I recently had the pleasure of discovering a place in La Sepia (Hamburg) that serves genuinely delicious Portuguese-style seafood. I ordered a Portuguese-style mussel dish for my main course. Before this arrived, I was first served complimentary bread alongside beer, and a simple starter accompanied by a rather special sauce, which set a very pleasant tone for the meal ahead. The main mussel dish itself was superb. It felt quite remarkable to find seafood of such high quality in Germany. The freshness of the seafood was apparent. The octopus legs were cooked to just the right point, being tender and not at all tough, and similarly, the texture of the clams and mussels was excellent – not rubbery in the slightest. The sauce complementing the seafood was well-judged and enhanced the flavours beautifully. Even the small complimentary items given as service had a good, non-chewy texture. This restaurant offers a truly commendable seafood dining experience, standing out in a country where finding seafood prepared to such a standard can be hard to come by.

Tasteful restaurant where you can spend a nice evening and enjoy delicious food. The menu is small but very well put together. Mind the only issue the tables are facing the street, which makes the conversation a bit unpleasantly ruined by the noise. All in all it is the place you would come again and I definitely can recommend everybody who looks for delicious seafood restaurant.

Great atmosphere, best fish in town! I’ve been coming here for over 20 years (even back at the old location), and it never disappoints. Since the new manager Boogie took over, the place has stepped up even more… excellent quality and service all around. Make sure to book a table in advance; it’s always busy!

We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant last night. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent—friendly and welcoming. We ordered the lobster bisque, mussels (which came with bread), and the seafood rice. Every dish was spectacular and full of flavor. We ate a lot, yet the total bill was only €60—great value for such high-quality food and service. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Recommended to visit?: No! Reason for visiting? Our hotel was just around the corner. My (subjective) takeaway of the restaurant and its crowd: It’s a pseudo seafood joint, but actually a rip-off preying on unsuspecting Germans and tourists. Were the food and drinks delicious? The bread and boquerones were decent, but the BBQ squid was an absolute joke—it was boiled and had never been near a grill. And four pieces of sepia for €24.50? Ridiculous. The cod fillet wasn’t grilled either, despite the claim “FROM GRILL” on the menu. Don’t be fooled. NONE of the seafood under. "FROM THE GRILL" gets grilled. The Grauburgunder “Becker” at €29 a bottle was no better than a €8.95 supermarket wine. Service style? Friendly, no complaints there. Price-performance ratio? Absolutely abysmal—probably the worst I’ve experienced in months. It’s a blatant money grab, with “plates” going for €45–85 per person. Atmosphere? It’s alright, as long as you don’t mind your food being reheated in a microwave. What did I like specifically? Umm... the bloke at the table next to us had a cracking jacket. Would I visit again? Only over my dead body. Comments: If my wife files for divorce because I suggested this place, I wouldn’t blame her.

Scrumptious and filling. Their salmon gambas grill is so awesome and fresh. If you are a fish lover just go there. You will feel the best feeling. They also have fresh catches of sea food from their private aquarium. Reservation is recommended

The food was good. The price is also ok....not particularly cheap, but ok. Volume is ok, not so much but a decent amount of food. The service was great. The waitress lady was so friendly and kind. The atmosphere was ok, the chairs were not so comfy......and the stairs were a bit slippery so you need to be careful.

The Fischbeisel is a wonderful place to enjoy herring, shrimp, brook fish, mussels and other fish delicacies. I highly recommend it!

We asked politely for 4 fish sadwiches, we were received by a very rude and angry old man who seemed tired of life, he took note of everything, but he wanted to scam me, I asked for a 4.50€ one, and he didn't give me the rest of the money, I had to ask twice. Then after a short wait, he came out of the local to give us our food, but he had the sauces mixed up, he didn't even listen to what we wanted. I'll never come back, and I suggest you to avoid this place, specially because of this man who is paying his frustrations with everyone else.

We ask table to sit but 4 tables were without clients and our food was 4 different easy to eat choices.Owner or manager did not let us to sit on tables.When we eat and left tables were still empty! Very good food. I had bulgogi beef burger, really, really tasty and a great portion sizes too! Slightly on the salty side but still really good. Waiter was superb and spoke great English and also gave us lots of suggestions. Fantastic!

This place sells both burgers and sushi, which honestly feels like a strange combo – and not in a good way. But we gave it a try anyway, and I ended up ordering something called a sushi dog. And I have to say… it was definitely an experience. The taste was surprisingly good – the fish was fresh, and I actually liked the deep-fried rice that replaced the hot dog bun. It’s basically a weird fusion between German sausage culture and Japanese sushi – a hot dog made entirely of sushi ingredients. The crispy rice “bun” and the soft salmon on top worked well flavour-wise, but it was definitely messy to eat. While it tasted good and was fun to try, I wouldn’t order it again. What I love about Japanese cuisine is the delicate presentation and this kind of threw all that out the window. Also, my husband got the burger, which was very mediocre at best – definitely not worth it. So if you do end up here, skip the burger, maybe try the sushi dog once for the fun of it

Very nice place with good food. The Currywurst was good but I didn't care for the fries. They were a little hard/chewy, not sure how to describe it, but for sure not crispy. My wife had the fish and chips but substituted the fries for a side salad and both were delicious. Service was friendly and somewhat prompt and the location and setting is beautiful. Overall a great find for some good fare. Worth visiting.

It is always a bit of a bad sign when a place sells both sushi and burgers, and it turned out that we should have listened to the warnings. To be fair, the food was fine. I got a standard middle of the road burger, with fries and truffle mayo. By friends got ths fried sushi dog, which was a bit much. The place is definitely not a 4.6 out of 5.

Came here for a date with my partner while visiting Hamburg. We took the fairy from the city and it was a short walk directly from there. Absolutely worth the little trip out, the quality and taste of the food was amazing. We both felt that a comparable restaurant in city center would have cost 2 to 3 times more. Perfect place for a dinner on the warm summer day. Have a nice view from the terrace above Hamburg port. Personnel is friendly and service is quick enough. Food was also a pleasure. Prosecco -risotto with Garnelen and Jacobsmuscheln was tasty, though prosecco I didn't taste :) Salmon with gurken salat was also yummy

Nice location, with view to the beach. Staff was nice. There was a menu in English. Food was served pretty fast, even with the restaurant full of people. The food, however, was nothing special. I had a risotto and, for the price, it disappointed me. Clearly you are paying for the view. I'd say super nice place for drinks, but I wouldn't choose it for a proper meal.

It was lovely, the food was extremely delicious. The "Pulpo" as an Appetizer was great and the Loup de Mer was so good!!! The desserts are very good too. The young man who served us was joyful and kind. I would only recommend some instrumental music, since is a little restaurant you can hear all the people's conversations around, maybe some background music would be nice.

It began with a glass of prosecco, a ray of sunlight passing through the pink leaves of a Japanese maple. Light, bright — a sparkle before the calm. Then came fig carpaccio, tender and sweet, with hot shrimp glowing like the late afternoon sun, the warmth that lingers even as the air turns crisp. The soup followed — smooth and gentle, pancetta whispering above its golden surface, olive focaccia resting nearby, like the scent of wood and wind after rain. Later, the light danced among fallen leaves. The grass stayed green beneath them, and the smoky salmon, still salty as if remembering the sea, lay beside golden pumpkin and soft potato. A few small green leaves said quietly: spring will come again. From time to time, a splash of Riesling — the taste of green and yellow apples — brought everything together, like a soft wave reaching the shore. And then, the crumble — warm plums under a golden crust, their sweetness rising with the scent of cinnamon and wood. On top, a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting slowly, like the first snow. At last, a cup of woody coffee — deep and calm, like sitting by the chimney while the old oak whispers in the wind.

Restaurant right on the pier, the food is excellent, very good service, very good fish. Sometimes the wait is a bit long if the weather is good. The incessant ballet of the boats on the Elbe is an activity not to be missed. An ideal place after the little walk along the river.

Amazing food and wonderful staff! The Vincent Beyond Burger was great! The Chilli Peanut Onion Crinkle Fries are a surprisingly good flavour combination. The Vegan Curry Wurst and nuggets were great too. I'm really glad Happy Cow showed me Vincent Vegan!

The stuff was friendly and fast. The burger was mediocre and sooooooo overpriced (7,99). The bun doesn’t have any taste. If it was something very cheap I wouldn’t complain. But I won’t be visiting the place again.

This burger place is inside a shopping centre where there's lots of other vegan options. This is just an all vegan burger place. I asked for the most popular burger which I ordered. That was a cheese burger with avocado spread. The price was really fair compared to my home country. Instead of calling names you had to pick your favourite animal which they would then call. The burger was ready in about 5 minutes and the staff was really friendly. The burger tasted really good. Nice patty, really cheesy cheese, soft and sweet brioche bun and creamy avocado spread.

I grabbed fish and chips on the go, and it was great for a quick meal but not the best and freshest in Hamburg. It’s ideal for when you’re exploring the harbour area especially with a beautiful view right by the waterside. Prices are reasonable, around €10. However, keep in mind that the on-the-go section is cheaper than the sit down restaurant area.

I wish I could give a negative score. Not only the service was disappointing, herring was disgusting (as many other people wrote here, not only me), the place is overpriced, but also we were charged twice!!! The owner shouted at us, forcing us to pay second time claiming the first time wasn’t successful. Unfortunately, when we came to the hotel, we discovered the same transaction twice. They changed us Euro 84 twice!! We asked for the bill and were refused to see it before we pay. Instead, the owner was called who shouted at us, saying we can only see it after paying. The staff was rude and very aggressive, I do not feel safe to come back there. It’s very frustrating, we brought kids to see and experience Hamburg (and Europe) from Australia and this is something we never experienced before. Not a bad learning but not for our money. We will report it to the police tomorrow morning and see if they can help us. Please stay away. I think some of the reviews are paid, we haven’t seen happy clients there. Update: We contacted our bank early morning and reported double charge. They confirmed that the second transaction was still pending and reassured us that it will be monitored and resolved. We obviously didn’t have a desire to go back and get abused again plus we left Hamburg early. I am pretty confident that we will get the money back, however, the impression of the whole city was ruined. This is a shame, I was in Hamburg 4 times and this the first time when I took kids with me. I think the service needs to be significantly improved. To be fair, the burger was ok comparing to other dishes, at least our little son didn’t complain about it.

The food is generally good. We didn't like the shrimp sandwich, maybe because of the cultural difference. We ordered water, and they brought us a glass of water, but it costs 3,5€ each glass (seriously, that amount, for no mineral water?). We realized only when the bill came, since all the menu is in German and we didn't translate the beverages section because we ordered water.

Nice place to eat,drink and spend some time by watching the sea and people. You should try fish bread and fries as this is the most common thing to eat that area. Price/performance ratio is 4.5. Its 4 points since we waited around 10 minutes for waiters just to show our Id and sit somewhere and the place was not crowded at that time.

This place is easy to reach from the station "Landungsbrücken". Unfortunately the noise of the cruise boats and the public business is quite disturbing when you take a seat outside. The staff is more welcoming to regulars especially the boss. The food though is very tasty and you'll get it in no time.

It was one of the rare affordable places to eat in the city, I still paid much money for me, but it was my wrong choice of order. For fast food it offers lots of options, definitely worth to visit!

I don’t like pommes but their pommes hit me differently. The best pommes I ever had 🍟. They put ribs on fingers food section 😹. The deep fried ribs were good mixed with sweet and sour sauce. Terribly rude service. Waited at the counter for a while even though no one was there and there were two staff at behind the counter. When he finally asked us for our order, he did not write anything down or even acknowledge our order, and then claimed we didn't order any fries when we asked where our two portions of fries were missing. THEN he tried to charge us extra for a portion of big curry wurst we definitely did not order, and started arguing with us that we did. Eventually he asked his colleague and she confirmed that we didn't order it and rudely gave me the cash back. Foodwise, the fries were good but that's about it.

Recommended to us by Hamburg City Cycles as a place where the locals eat. Located on a quiet road. Staff helpful but didn’t speak the best English. This didn’t matter though as we got exactly what we wanted which was a fantastic currywurst. Portion sizes extremely good and great little addition was the Marie-rose dressing to the salad. This was all backed up by some really reasonable prices (2 main meals and 2 soft drinks all for £14). Will definitely go back to try some other dishes.

This is a decent imbiss with friendly staff. We only tried the currywurst and it was nothing special. That said, we certainly don’t classify as “Currywurst Connaisseurs” and you should take our review as that. We hardly ever eat imbiss-style and we probably will try another imbiss if we have emergency hunger like this time.

Just a primitive snack bar with high prices. At once you believe it should be cheap but it is opposite. A poor mix fish plate charged about 19 euro is very poor: small pieces of simply prepared fish and 2 small prawns accompanied with potato salad. Salmon : a small portion, fresh but overcooked as a result dry. Price 13 euro. Simple and uncomfortable sitting, no service. The hygiene is also under the question. Small toilet is available. I cannot recommend it. There are better places in the neighbourhood.

Amazing fresh fish of great quality. Very authentic experience next to the fish market including the 82 year old senior boss. The place is very simple. You have to order at the counter, where you see the fresh fish. You can watch how the fish is prepared. Unfortunatly authentic and simple places like this get lost more and more by today. This one is a hidden treasure.

Looks like a little canteen or a fish shop. You can see the fishes before they are cooked and there are only big tables. Good atmosphere. Not expensive at all. All the fishes are fried. It looks not very good in the plate but in fact it is very tasty, fish is delicious and fresh. I recommand !

Great cantina situated in the southeast corner of the Altonaer Fischmarkt building. Fantastic range of offerings, we sampled their fish cakes, the fish soup, most notably the Krabbenbrötchen, the local prawn sandwich. The wine from the Baden region was a great pairing.

We went on Sunday to have late lunch at 3pm. I made a reservation before, like 4 days in advance, so they knew before how many people were we. The food was ok, but our surprise appeared when we just finished our dishes and the waiter said that we have to pay because she has more tables waiting....I haven't finished my wine yet and we haven't checked the menu for desserts. She repeated twice, in quite bad manners, and we left because we felt quite bad. To sum up, you cannot treat in that way your customers, because today, you have lost 5 already. It's a pity that restaurants prefer to fill all the places and make as many books as possible instead of caring about their customers....Such disappointed visit...

We were looking for a nice fish restaurant to miss the touristy options of Landungsbrücken. Service was so-so. We were only one of two patrons in the restaurant, and our server was hardly bothered to pay attention to us. We each had fish and chips which came with a salad. The salad was the worst salad I’ve had, and my boyfriends was absolutely covered in oil. Our fish and chips were complete opposites. Mine was just as you’d expect but my boyfriends was undercooked, soft, and soggy. We also weren’t paid attention to when we were finished and ready to leave. Would not recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a simple, well-cooked fish dinner.

A nice place for good fish burger and fish platter. We had the fish platter meant for three people and it had a nice and tasty assortment of different types of fishes from calamari to prawns. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is friendly as well.

A cute place not far from the Altona station located next to a lot of other restaurants. Has a great selection of fish dishes. The big Gamba Plate was incredible.

Frozen Food and Sports I was excited to try this burger joint, but my experience was far from satisfying. The burgers were a major let-down, with the meat tasting bland and processed. It felt like I was eating a frozen patty that had been microwaved. The toppings were also underwhelming, adding little to the overall flavor. While the atmosphere was casual and the sports were a nice touch, it's clear that this place prioritizes entertainment over quality food. If you're looking for a satisfying meal, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Edit: since last review, the food has really improved and now I give it 5 stars. The burgers are delicious- big portions and very tasty. Comes with great chips and coleslaw. Veggie options are also super - you make any burger on the menu vegetarian. The wings and the Club Sandwich are also great. Great and friendly service, with many beer options. Sport playing on big screens when there is a games make for a good atmosphere.

We were coming in for the gluten free burger. The portions are huge and the food is so taste and juicy we had great time. The team was very friendly and patient with our questions and requests. Went for a friend's birthday and apparently they don't serve cocktails or hot drinks during football games. This would have been fine but it wasn't posted anywhere and nobody told us until we went to order. The entire front of house staff seemed like they were brand new and, while the food was actually pretty good, I got super sick immediately after eating it.

I was therewith my friend and we had Burger and Chicken wings. THe burger was good. Everything else not so much. After 37min, yes we counted, our food arrived. The fries were cold, the wings were the worst I have eaten in a long time! They tasted 100% like the supermarket frozen wings. A waste of money. DO NOT BUY THE WINGS EVER! The coleslaw was super sweet unfortunately... other than that it is a cozy place and they have foot ball on TV.

This place takes a little effort to get to but I promise it's worth the train ride and walk in the park. I stayed close to the Altona Bahnhof so it was only a 15-min walk for me. I enjoyed the fish burger and I wish I could try more items. The portion is quite big and the price is good. Not everyone speaks English here but it's so easy to point at the pictures and order. This was recommended by a local friend and I hope you can make a stop here.

A great way to quell the craving for fish and chips. Potions are big, fish is crispy on the outside/flakey on the inside, fries are salty and the tartare sauce is proper. Solid greasy fish and chips experience as it’s meant to be. Definitely recommend.

2025.06.09: here I had my best Fischbrötchen ever. So much better than the other places in the city. Also they say they do the sourdough Brötchen themselves. Was really good, especially in nice weather, sitting outside. Such a vibe.

Absolutely amazing! So fresh, tasty and crunchy. The place was small, but has tables outside to consume. It was also super crowded, which speaks well of the food and the waiting time was around 20 min. The food was great and the sizes just as good. I have nothing but great comments on it. Sadly, they didn’t have a WC, so if you really want to go, not an option here. Other than that, it was the best fried fish I’ve had in Hamburg.

Had a mid-afternoon lunch of bruschetta and it was both delicious and enormous (3 gigantic breads topped with tomatoes/pesto/ parmesan). Very reasonably priced, service was fine if a little scattered. If weather allows, it is nice to sit outside altho you will be approached by panhandlers but they are well-mannered.

We visited the place for brunch on a Sunday. There is no need for reservations.We ordered Veganes Frühstück, Wiener Frühstück, Kakao mit Espresso and Tasse Kaffee. The Veganes Frühstück had a lot of small portions to try and we liked all of them . Kaka mit Espresso was good as well!! The Wiener Frühstück‘s egg was the specialty and was done well. All in all food was great. Just that we got our order really late otherwise the experience was good .

A cozy place with delicious food, I felt myself very comfortable in this cafe, as at home. Extra star for their pies, we had one with cocos and berries, yummy! A nice shelter in rainy Hamburg.

It is very cozy coffee, but suffers from usual lazy staff these days. First it took them 15 minutes to notice me, then after making my order, they approached me again what I ordered and most unfortunate moment was when beer finally arrived after 10 minutes in form of a bottle without even getting a glass. I wouldn’t mind if I was in Reeperbahn, but this should be a “good coffee”. Edit: it would be really nice if staff prevented street buffers enter the businsss

Super friendly staff and they must all have great taste in music; there's always a good tune playing. Nice place to sit in or out and spend some time, at any time of day. Good (vegan) food on offer and always a suggestion for drinks. A slice of one (or two) of the many varieties of cake is a must.

Great place for the seafood and fish lovers! Price value worth taking Menu option as you get a lot of variety for the money (4 course menu for 79 Euro per person). Drinks are on a higher end but portions are generous. What is really pricy compared to the other restaurants of the same league are oysters - 5 Euro for 1 oyster, so personally would not take it again. Overall great experience, stylish place and friendly staff.

My wife and I had a great experience at XO. We sat at the counter, which I would recommend if you like to watch and interact with the kitchen staff preparing the food, and we ordered the fixed price, four course chef's menu. It was really great. The food was tasty, and it was fun talking to the kitchen crew. Gabi took care of us from behind the counter, and she, along with the rest of her colleagues, did a great job. We especially liked that they would take the time to answer any questions we had about the food. They were very nice and talented. Our favorite food items were the razor clam appetizer, the main, which was perfectly cooked char, and the dessert, a tarte tartin with french plums. Highly recommend. Great experience.

Bad atmosphere, hot, dark, messy. Make sure you sit outside with cigarettes smell, much better than inside, don’t risk. Pasta is nasty, smell like coming from 6 months+ dry package, no where close to fresh (per manager’s claim) and instead of accepting client’s comment nicely, the male manager intentionally ignored us afterwards, we got to ask 2 times to refill the wine, nothing happened. Once we stood up to take the bottle ourselves, the manager made fun and stupid faces, attitudes. If you’re looking for good mussels, fish… maybe, if you are looking for good pasta and services, think twice or more.

We took the 4 course chefs meal and this was definitely a highlight of a recent trip to Hamburg. The head chef explained how they made each course and the ambience was welcoming and friendly. Definitely a recommended experience!

Very weird neighborhood, very tight/small restaurant setup, extremely small table, very uncomfortable. Worst and most expensive pasta menu in the city, pasta smell old and very bland taste for 30+ euro. Overrated price and boring wine list. Trainee staff was serving us and had to go back to the unprofessional manager every time. The manager was rude and making the face back to us after we commented about pasta quality. At least the mussel was nice… otherwise this would be our worst night in Hamburg.

Don’t order pasta, their pasta is old, and it’s ramen not pasta. Please re consider, there are many more better places. Bad wine despite us asking for the best option for german wine. Servers dont attend us enough, we had to ask 2 times for refilling wine and nothing happened, we had to pick our own bottle to refill, thats when manager made the face and attitudes to us. Location is good, directly in front of Wandsbek Markt Station. Service is fast, hamburger are delicious. It’s nice that we could use the Sodexo Vouchers.

It's the higher quality fast food alternative to the bigger burger chains. The food was good (but don't expect something mind-blowing) and reasonably fast and fairly priced. The portions could've been slightly bigger and the condiment pack sizes are a bit of a joke, kind of ruining the otherwise very good fries. Atmosphere is a bit more comfy than most fast food burger chains, but not by much.

It is a good place for a quick bite. The burgers are certainly top quality and very tasty. They definitely make their money out of selling soft drinks though. The ambience was nice and the store wasnt so crowded, probably because it was a Wednesday afternoon. Nonetheless, I would definitely try their burgers again.

I was here 6 years ago and I must say they have gotten worse. Burgers and fries quite good, but they used to be definitely better. The staff had serious problems with English, they answered me only in German (fortunately I can speak German in part, so I understood). They gave me a more expensive burger than the one I ordered, probably because of the language barrier.

If you are looking to truly enjoy fresh and delicious fish dishes in Hamburg, I recommend visiting this place. this was not far from our hotel so we thought we’d give it a go and we read good reviews on Google. I must say the food was very fresh. I had the salmon which came with a side of potatoes and some vegetables and a salad and they give you complementary garlic bread we also had the shrimp came with the same. It’s a very casual indoor outdoor eating establishment. There’s no English menu. This is probably an area where people live around the area and come here for dinner, but if you’re a tourist, it would be a good place to come and have a casual dinner price was moderate The people that waited on us were very helpful and nice. Had to ask for our check but not a big deal. We were in no rush. If you’re in the neighborhood I would definitely recommend that you try it if you like fresh fish

Very pleasantly surprised. I ordered a calamari plate. Got some great bread and salad with three sauces to pick at before the main dish... Excellent. Main dish was amongst the best I've eaten... Crunchy tentacles, soft main... Delicious. Dinner with wine cost me 25 euro. Everything was clean and fresh. Recommended.

It's a famous and only fish place in the area of Feldstraße Schanze. Fisch is fresh though it's too crowded and sitting is tight. Hard to talk among each other at a table. They use too much oil and it's pretty hard to get noticed by the waiters. One time try is recommended.

Tasty Fish Variety with One Exception I had lunch at this restaurant and chose the mixed fish plate, which is a great option if you want to try different types of fish in one meal. The mix included salmon, ling fish, pollack, tilapia, and pangasius — and it only cost €19. Most of the fish were fresh and flavourful — especially the salmon and pollack, which were tender and perfectly cooked. However, I personally didn’t enjoy the pangasius as much. The texture was a bit too soft for my liking, and it had a slight earthy or muddy aftertaste. Still, it’s a good spot if you’re into seafood and want to sample a variety. The portion was generous, and it’s a great way to experience different fish in one dish.

***MONEY REPORT ALERT *** I went to the eat to this place, after I ordered my dish I realize that the translation on my cellphone was wrong and not accurate , so I spoke with the cashier and he told me was not possible cos the fish was on the grill already which was not true. So I ended eating something that I didn’t wanted also cos was not cheap , 22,90€ was the price on the board and he make me paid 25,90€, is not a 3€ problem is more the lack of communication of the service. Honestly I will not come back cos they make me feel bad only for asking questions. I will not Recommend this place.

We had the pleasure of having lunch here. A very kind lady served us, and her kind words truly warmed our hearts. The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the surprise appetizer. I can only recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy some great fish dishes!

That's not a "Fischbrötchen" that's the delishes sandwich I ever had! The value of the meal (doesn't matter which) is amazing. The tast is amazing! There are a lot of fish shops in a lot of more fancy areas with a much better view, but this is top level in taste (my opinion)! The self made chips...delicious! The baked fish (Backfisch)...delicious! We will come again! For sure. The are a lot of parking slots in front of the restaurant. And it's not far from that point to Reperbahn and other points. Use the App "Easy park" to have a comfortable parking, or pay at the parking meter.

The fish burger was delicious, with a generous amount of fish inside. It'd have been better if the bread were warmer and if there were more tartar sauce. The service was good. Very friendly and attentive. If you need to go to the toilet, you'll need to ask for a key, otherwise, you'll be locked up! The setting was ok.

Amazing backfisch brötchen, the fish is fresh. We went multiple times so we tried also the smoked salmon that is really good as well as the fried calamari. Portions are generous and everything taste really good, nothing fancy, just proper fisch brötchen

Excellent!!!! Fresh tasty amazing!!!! We stopped there by mistake and it was pure luck! We ordered the fish&chips and also the Backfisch sandwich and both was excellent! Not too heavy from the fried oil (so I guess it’s fresh which is very important for the fish to taste good) and fair portions! Very affordable for what you get! I 100% suggest it in a sunny day in Hamburg

Do not eat with your eyes/No toda la comida entra por los ojos In despite the long line to me the food here is more the presentation than the flavor. Everything was deep fried in burned oíl. So it was a good portion but fish and chips is a So simple dish that can be easily ruined by bad ingredients. No coming back. I got that sensation of a full stomach when something is not fresh.

Definitely avoid this place! I had a very disappointing experience at Steakhouse Landungsbrücken. The waiter was extremely rude and unprofessional from the moment we walked in. No greeting, no smile – just a cold and arrogant attitude. It felt like we were a burden for even being there. What’s worse, the prices on the menu didn’t match what we were charged. I strongly suspect they scam tourists, especially those who don’t speak German. I’m German and noticed I was quoted a different price than what was being charged to others. This kind of dishonest behavior is unacceptable and damaging for Hamburg’s image. The food was average at best, definitely not worth the inflated prices. With so many good places around, there’s absolutely no reason to waste your time or money here. AVOID at all costs. There are plenty of honest and welcoming restaurants nearby – this one is not it. Also card payment is only possible after 20€.

It's the first time I've writing a review, I didn't believe that this is how you treat a customer with his family, First, they do you a favor they coming to you, the waiter didn't have any patience, 50% of the food wasn't cooked, we got stuff that we didn't ask for, and the end was the worst the waiter try to roob me, he put more stuff in the bill and after I show him what we had he played like it was mistake and took some things off but still I paid more than I needed. All the best It's sad that in 2025 in a Western city you still take advantage of tourists

All but one in the staff were really rude, apparently they're not interested in having customers at all. We arrived late and were a bit desperate for food as many other kitchens in the area were already closed, however this one was open. We were taken to a table outside where almost everyone at the surrounding tables were smoking. We tried to ask nicely if we could have a table at the other end of the restaurant where we could see that, at least for the moment, not as many people were smoking. Immediately the staff got really upset and claimed that the other part of the restaurant was closed. But just seconds later another family arrived and were seated in that area. After some upset discussion we were able to get a table over there as well. If we wouldn't have been desperate to find a restaurant with an open kitchen we would of course have left immediately, I can't even begin to understand HOW it could be so problematic to put us in another table when we asked for it before we had even sat down?? So much that they had to start yelling at 2 adults and 3 kids??? After ignoring us at our 'new' table for a long time we finally got to order. Food was not good but not very bad either.

On a busy Sunday afternoon we were able to be seated relatively quick. Our waiter seemed somewhat distracted, ended up cutting me off mid sentence twice, while placing my order asking if that was it. Really delicious food! So nice to find a place in Hamburg that doesn’t just serve fries and schnitzel. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the sauces were absolutely delicious. Nice sallad and bread included. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful — especially when it came to adjusting the portion sizes for the kids, which was great since it could easily have been too much food otherwise. Service was a bit surly and food tasted more processed or pre-frozen than fresh, and quite lacking in flavor. Perhaps reviews are high because prices are on the lower side, but quality isn’t great. Salad was probably the best thing I ate as the mustard sauce on the fish was more curry flavored and the overcooked vegetables were inedible as they were full of salt.

Fisch Pauli is one of those places you visit for the food, not the ambiance. Tucked away in St. Pauli, just a short walk from the Green Bunker and the St. Pauli Stadium, the surrounding area is a lively mix of graffiti-covered walls and quirky second-hand shops. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating—11 tables inside and 5 outside. However, service outdoors is noticeably poor; customers often need to go inside just to get a menu, which is far from ideal. The interior has a beachy, mismatched vibe with sand and turquoise-colored walls, artificial greenery hanging from the ceiling, fishing nets as space dividers, and metal fish décor. The entrance features a painted skull logo, which feels a bit out of place. Velvet bucket chairs and wooden floors attempt to elevate the setting, but it all feels a little thrown together. The meal started with a complimentary salad that was just okay. The accompanying basil pesto bread and dips were decent, and the olive oil on the table stood out as good quality. Unfortunately, the wine, Weiss-burgunder trocken Erbeldingen was a disappointment—harsh notes of unripe stone fruit and sour apricot with a dry, unpleasant aftertaste. The water, as expected, was overpriced, retails as 7.40euros and sold for 22euros. The highlight of the visit was definitely the fish. Both the Kabeljau (cod) and Rotbarsch (redfish) were excellent—lightly battered, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. They were served with chips, boiled cauliflower and broccoli, and individual sauces. While the chips were crispy and satisfying, the vegetables were limp and overcooked. The sauces tasted like they came from a bottle and didn’t add much to the dish. Overall, Fisch Pauli delivers on its promise of good fish, but everything else—from the wine to the service to the decor—falls short. Go for the fish, and manage your expectations for the rest.

Die ist dann aber doch geknickt als ich die Brötchen probiert habe: Die Brötchen ansich staubtrocken, der Fisch alles andere als Frisch und lecker! Alle drei Brötchen haben nach altem abgestandenem billigen Fisch geschmeckt und kurz nach dem Essen hab ich auch Bauchschmerzen bekommen… Bin gespannt was die nächsten Stunden so bringen. Definitiv die Schlechtesten Fischbrötchen die ich je gegessen habe!
