Amazing place. I went here for the english language pub quiz with a friend that was visiting Hamburg, and we both had a great time. The entire staff is friendly and good at recommending beers, the atmosphere inside (and outside as well) is very comfortable. I am glad to have discovered this place because the Pub Quiz!

I went there in search of a cafe and was happy, so you don't necessarily need to drink beer. I guess if you come specifically to taste craft beers it's even better. They also seem to have a good idea about food that goes along :). Like the concept. Moreover very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Gets crowded late, so book.

Charming local bar Visited at april 1st 2018 and enjoyed a very nice service and some really good craft beer, 8 on tap. Also noticed some bottled, but didn't try any of those. Prices were very resonable. I'll be going back next time I visit Hamburg.

Especially when it was snowing, it was a great atmosphere. They have a great beer bar and restaurant with very good flavors. They also make their own bread. There is quality music and beautifully decorated spaces. The winter garden and bar are magnificent. I highly recommend it.

We went here without any reservations and the staffs were very kind to give us the table!! We were super thrilled to see their huge ambiance and good vibes all around!! They also had terrace seating that was quite nice!! So coming to drinks and food, I think they have wide variety of beer options to choose from!! Even the beer tasters were very very impressive and I happened to also taste their fruity Belgian beer which was top notch! I like the detailing in their menu of how they have paired up different food with kinds of beer that would go well with them! I didn’t try a vegetarian option for food (Spinach Semmelknödeln) and it was really nice and in good portion! My friends also tried the same but with pork and they can vouch for the amazing taste as well! I did notice that the staffs left us unattended for quite sometime probably because it was a Saturday evening and completely rush hour!! All in all a great experience in Hamburg!

We didn’t go for food, we went for drinks and specially beer. They have a small tasting offer which you should try if you want to discover the beer types that they offer in the place. The staff was super friendly and they helped us with some hints to make a beer tasting. Price is fair and the place is huge with indoor and outdoor areas.

One of the best diner I've experienced in Hamburg so far. Athmosphere is calm and relaxing, empleyees are helpful and kind. There are so many beer options and you will difficultly choose yours. Helles was my favourite one. We ate cheeseburger and fish & chips. Burger was delicious. French fries were crunchy and tasted good. But I need to tell extra good for fish & chips. Crunchiness of the fish was perfect and meat was juicy enough and delicious. They have a big parking lot outside. Booking before going is adviced.

Great overall experince. Our group got a 3 course menu which was ordered before hand. However, for dessert, they served 6 portions for 8 people, telling us to simply "share" them. Additionally they required us to pay for a drop-out that we told them about when we arrived. Not the end of the world, but a strange choice that clearly brings it down from an otherwise 5/5 experience.

The thin tall black bouncer was so rude and also racist. We were inside and went out to smoke when we tried to get back inn he looked and said that I didn’t see you. Also my friend was celebrating his birthday so everyone had to leave because they didn't let me back in. Usually I love this place but this guys behavior was unacceptable. Just because you're the bouncer of the place you don't own the world having such an attitude has no excuse... Doesn't even deserve a one star...

They have an amazing selection of beer. If you want to dance there is also a very good option at the back of the bar. The staff at the bar is quite friendly and they will serv you extremely fast. In the summer they also have a terrace, one of my favourite pubs in Hamburg.

This is where you go as a beer lover in Hamburg. Constantly new beers on tap and several others on bottle. The inside is spartan but nice. There are a few benches outside as well. The is for sure the best beer bar in Sternschanze and probably one of the best beer bars in Hamburg.

300 kinds of beers, a real paradise. Stopped by for the "2 for 1 beer" of Neotaste app, and ended up buying amazing different beers to take. Good prices, good atmosphere, nice selection of rock and indie rock songs playing in a cool level, so you can chat with friends without "screaming". Will certainly come back. Women's toilet was ultra clean and cozy, offering free tampons and even a Zara perfume for the clients. 🥰

Beautiful ambiance, placed inside of St. Pauli Piers. There is a terrace on the roof where you can greet cruisers. We had potato/leek soup and porck knuckle, nice and tasty. Beer was super fresh and good. The waiters are very patient and welcoming. It was interesting to hava a sneak peek of food in kitchen :)

Beautiful location with a great view The location is simply stunning – right by the water, with a wonderful view of the harbor and the passing ships. Especially on a nice day, the view is a real highlight. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and tasted excellent. Stopped by Blockbräu for lunch after crossing under the Elbe. Sat at the biertische and ordered a schnitzel. It was crisp, golden and exactly what it should be. The Munich-style Weißbier was lovely, and service was on point despite the lunchtime rush. Big windows, open space, and a steady stream of seagulls circling the ferry terminals outside. A solid spot if you enjoy your beer with a view (and a hint of diesel in the breeze). Would 100% return. Possibly just for the schnitzel. Edit: I sat in the establishment, having a few beers, and eventually decided to also have the 700g Schweinshaxe, and it did not dissapoint. This is a meal for Kings and probably what I should have gone with in the first place. But I was just dying for a Schnitzel so I ordered that without looking at the menu. If I return here before I leave Hamburg I’m gonna try the Kalbsbratwurst at €20

Excellent food and beer. Service was fast and efficient. If you're on holiday I highly recommend coming for lunch. There is also a good view of the river and the returant is close to tourist attractions.

Came here as part of a stag do and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more patient. Drinks came out fast, and the food was excellent — from the pretzel to the haxe, everything was soft, well seasoned, and delicious. The atmosphere was lively with plenty of groups celebrating, from bachelorettes to tourists, but everyone was well-behaved so it never spoiled the experience. A great spot for good food, drinks, and a fun time.

Convenient brewery/restaurant by the harbor. Food was alright but not amazing. Got the fried fish and salmon. A bit overpriced, but it’s in a touristy area.

This place is lively and busy at lunch time. It seems well known and visited by Germans who come to the harbour. Big groups and individuals turn up to this place where they are greeted with a smile and then take a seat of their choice. This brewery - restaurant is huge. They have seating on the ground floor, upstairs and on the terrace. The view from here is great. Tables and seats are comfortable and clean. Staff is friendly. They have menu card as well as the dish of the day. We realised only later about the day’s special. Nevertheless, our food was tasty and the portion was adequate. Beer was homemade and tasty. Toilets were clean. Staff was very attentive and fast. Food came fast too. I would recommend this place for those who want to eat traditional German food and drink traditional beer. And also for those who want to mingle with Germans and feel the atmosphere.

Old Private Brewery in heart of Hamburg. They offer 20L barrel and you with colleagues can drink it all. They have own brewing equipment and beer is excellent. Food was also very taste. For sure will come back when I'm again in Hamburg

Great restaurant, though could be difficult to see where you go in from the door. Its got really great character and was conveniently 100m from our hotel (Premier Inn). The food choice was traditional German, exactly what we wanted and you could either choose from the buffet where you were served from displayed meats and vegetable options or from a set menu selection. The beer was great and the ambience was fantastic, dimly lit with candles but kind of magical. The service was excellent and catered for English, though predominantly a german restuarant. From couples to large groups they catered for all in a traditional setting. Would go again!!

In all of Hamburg, I liked this restaurant the most. We didn't get to try the food, because the kitchen was open until 9 p.m. The atmosphere is extremely interesting, the interior is extremely interesting, the beer is excellent, as is the service. Special kudos to the waitress with blue eyes and blonde hair. She is very lovely. If I ever return to Hamburg, I will definitely come to this restaurant.

I've been there several times, always enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and drinks. The same was my experience at yesterday's visit, however the last interaction with the staff was a serious Pull-Off as they asked twice for tips. Usually, I am more than happy to pay a tip for the outstanding and extraordinary service, but if the waiter starts asking for it, then it pulls me off, in fact, it spoiled our evening. Never am I going to put my legs or money in this place again, unless they change behaviour.

Solid Italian style pizza. Pizza was quite good and the place is really cozy a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends. It is also possible to order out and take the pizza to the neighbourhood - which we did.

Best Brauerei ever!! Josh is so friendly and offered two of their best and limited edition beers. They microbrew them on the back of the restaurant. The food is scrumptious and filled with voracious flavours. Best vegan options.

Best Neapolitan Pizza outside of Naples. The dough was perfectly made with proper fermentation over several days. You can feel the slow fermentation creating a unique taste in the dough. The oven created a really fluffy but crispy edge. You can taste the quality of the flour they are using. The pizzas are topped with San Marzano tomatoes giving it this typical sweet fruity taste. Buffalo Mozzarella adds the unique intense taste for the cheese. In my preference the Mozzarella could have been charred a little more, maybe air circulation in the oven is not perfect. But that's just complaining on a very high level. I'll be back.

It was great to go there with the idea that alternative beers were being served. The result was better than the expectation. The ipa beers were one by one tasty beers. The atmosphere was great. The bartender took his time to talk and before I knew it I spent 3 hrs on my own at the bar without a moment to get bored. (Sorry to the bar lady who dropped cups of beer due to my abrupt move backwards)

This is a great place to have pizza and beer! This brewery makes several different beers. My favorite is the original Helles! Beer is a bit expensive, around 5 to 6 Euro per 500ml, however pizza is great. I'm a big fan of spicy food, and pizza Tante Picante 🌶 is quite spicy. I was going to give them 4 stars because it's been over 2 months since they don't have the beer tasting tray. however the service was so fast and so friendly that they made up for it. You can always book your table online, so you can make sure you get a spot. Corona rules are respected!

Walked across hamburg to go here for a Nice pint, choice is ridiculous good and vast. Went with a nice dark ale, there was a 12% stout that I will go back and try! Atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing drink, not busy on a Sunday evening. I had some typical snacks to eat that were good, although if you are hungry eat before you go.

A low key, dimly lit neighbourhood bar tucked away down a side street. The tunes were subtle and fresh. The service was relaxed. Comfortable spot for a Sunday session. Beers listed on the wall range from €6 upwards for 40cl. People were eating but there was no sign of a menu.

My bf and I have visited many specialty beer shops in Hamburg and in our home country, this was by far the worst. It’s literally the meme of overpriced craft beer that tastes like рıѕѕѕ water. We payed 10 euros for two beers… both were tasteless. Even the bar decor is nothing to write home about, kind of grungy looking but without any charm.

Lovely place to bring visitors from abroad to experience German cuisine and tasty beer. Generous seating available, and if you come early you may take the tables facing the river, granting you a great view while you feast upon your sumptuous meal and drown yourselves with smooth beer. The place was filled fairly quickly during the weekday lunch hours when we visited, a great testament to the popularity of the place.

The great place full of good the local bier 🍺 The bier is really delicious, many tables, good for big company but outside area is small, the stuff is friendly and very busy so we had have to ask then for coming to us. Clean inside, good location.

This restaurant has its own signatures beers in-house produced and as far as I can tell, they were very tasty. The menu has many options and I particularly loved their Flammkuchen. The service was good and the food didn't take long after the order was taken. The bathroom was also tidy and clean. Thumbs up for that. A nice German traditional restaurant to go with family or with friends for a Happy Hour. 👍

Very tasty. They have a small selection of their own beers but they were delicious and varied. I had the pork schnitzel with fried potatoes which was super yummy. Service was excellent and the staff was extremely friendly. The location was ideal and they have a nice outdoor patio. The only thing that lacked was their wifi, it was so slow my phone was never able to fully connect. Expect to pay a little more for your meal and beers due to the location, for two beers and a meal it was around 25€.

The place looks nice, the beer was ok and the staff was nice. The food, unfortunately, was waaaaaay too salty, like borderline uneatable. Seriously, lay off the salt, dudes.

I've already been here for three times. It's my best Schweinshaxe place in Hamburg. But their Schnitzel is also very tasty, so don't miss it (with beer!). There portion is big but if you go for lunch, you can enjoy smaller portion of Schnitzel with cheaper price. It's very crowded in the evening and the table is really small. Staffs are friendly but there are not many, so it can take some time to talk to them.

Fantastic brew house in the center of Hamburg. When I was here, the place was really hopping, enormous amount of beer was served (sat at the bar), and everything was handled with the famous efficiency. The beer is on the smooth side, deceptively easy. Hop lovers may be initially disappointed; in that case, just give it a chance. It has definitely grown on me. If you are here during a busy time, plan ahead, and order a pretzel or something.

We decided to try out Paulaner's as I have been to a few outlets. However, I was surprised that their menu here was not very extensive. It has its basic items and, of course, a great beer selection to choose from. The food was just ok. The drinks came fast but food orders took a while. Our waiter was great and the service was good.

First the good: The pork hock was amazing as was the sauce. The beer was delicious of course as was the obstler schnapps. Now to the not so good: The sauce was great but there want enough of it. Come on, pour more of that sweet sauce love!! I gotta say it, the potato dumplings were terrible. Potato dumplings should be light and fluffy but these were heavy balls of dense bland dough. Not sure where the cook got this recipe or where he bought the package from but they are not worthy of a German restaurant. You should be ashamed. I mean, just look at them. They look so unappetizing, tiny and grey. They look like they belong in a cheap restaurant not a nice one. If you buy the pork hock, which I recommend, DO NOT add the dumplings as a side!!! Oh ya, ask for more gravy!!!

Paulaner Miraculum is a great Bavarian themed bar and restaurant directly opposite the hauptbanhof. The place is charming and friendly with wonderful attentive staff who made the whole experience very efficient and chilled. I ordered the meatloaf with a fried egg and sauerkraut and I throughly enjoyed everything on the plate, absolutely delicious and all washed down with a glass of Paulaner Zwickl. Excellent in my opinion. You should definitely give it a try.

Go for beer, not for food. Famous for its beer brand. For sure, glass of wines are quite overpriced here compare to other places nearby. We ordered white sausages and Bavarian specialty plate. Food plating choice is obviously quite odd plastic clips holding coldcut meats hanging in the air, quite unpleasant presentation of food and to be honest, the lard balls on Bavarian specialty plate was inedible in the sense of flavor. We left most of food and went other place nearby again to eat. Service is cold and dry as well.

Klimperkiste is a beautiful, old-style Kneipe with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service is lovely and the selection of beers and spirits is extensive. Whether it’s a chilly winter evening or a warm summer night, this place always feels like the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a drink.

We had a disappointing experience at Astra St. Pauli Brauerei. It was my son's 16th birthday in the middle of a short trip to Hamburg. Lo and behold 16 is the age of consent when it comes to beer in Germany so we were looking for a place that had locally brewed (ie: authentic German) beer as well as a good menu so we could get him the requisite birthday dessert. We arrived a little after nine...it's a cavernous place with lots of places to sit inside and outside, and with no attention from anyone who worked there (with very few people in the restaurant) we found a couple of menus and a place to sit. The server came by and took away those menus and gave us a drinks-only menu as, apparently, they don't serve food after 9 (including desserts). Bummer to find this out as their website only listed their opening hours and didn't give any indication that we couldn't get anything we wanted if it was later in those hours. Okay, so we decided we'd have our beer and go somewhere else for dessert. I wanted to get the beer flight/sampler so my kid's first beer experience could be as rich as possible. They list a beer flight on their website menu, but for some reason, after 9pm, they no longer offer that. Okay, so no food, or dessert, and just beer...but what happened to the flight-sized glasses after 9pm? Are they hidden away with the food? Does the chef take them home? What reason can't they do a flight when they're only serving beer? Our server seemed especially annoyed that we were even in the restaurant at all. So in the end, although I enjoyed the 2 beers we got (Original 1909 Astra Urtyp [a basic ale]) and the "Night Shift" dark beer [nice and chocolatey] - we left feeling disappointed, unwelcome, and wishing we had chosen somewhere else to go have our son's first beer on his birthday.

I did not have any food. The rating is low because the service is so poor. People are unhappy working there. It was not too busy they just don’t care. I rarely give bad reviews. But this place should be avoided by visitors to Hamburg. Don’t bother.

Love this bar, it's so cool. Some of the high chairs are so cool, from old junk metal, cool concept. Many beer to try out. There's DJ spinning away, cool nice songs. Also a dance floor. There are also table Fussball. When it gets crowded, at times you have to wait for some time until you get to place your orders. Some staff pretend not to serve you! But some staff are really nice, good service.

17/06/20 - Worst schnitzel I’ve ever had in Germany (was also the most expensive, try 18€!), it was like eating cardboard and the fish from the fish and chips was like eating Rubber (12 bucks). We came here during a vacation trip and decided to try because of the good reviews. Definitely this place does not have good reviews based on the food (food options are also extremely low). It was an EXTRA disappointment for it to have been the Astra beer house, it was such an awful experience. Also, the table was not so clean and service was below standard, Major Bummer. On a positive note, the beer was good, big TV’s for sports watching, and the spicy habanero sauce was crazy spicy good🌶 and the fries were normal standard fries.

You need to know before: do not expect an only-Restaurant environment. Is is more like a diner looking bar with snacks. In the evening it turns more and More into a Club with Music and Dance. I really recommend this place when you think great after the first part of this review :) The beers are great, the snacks are good and the service is perfect. Visit this place with friends and you will have a great evening/night.

The interior with all those LED Signs looks just great. You really feel the Kiez there. Staff is friendly. Beer is OK. Definitely worth a visit, after all it is a legendary place.

Nice “pub” style place, where beer is the main theme. The beer was good, the atmosphere was nice, it has a terrace near the canal that quickly fills up if the weather is good (Funny thing that people on boats/ Sup boards could order from the canal). I had the “fish & chips”, it was a good portion for sure, but the fish was missing some seasoning/flavour in my opinion. Service was quite busy, but relatively fast.

The first time good service, friendly and young waiter, we ordered ratsherrn fries as in the picture and Rot Beer. We loved it, good crowd and waterfront seating. 2nd time We had different waiter. Had to wait 15-20min and had to wave the waiter to get an attention. The behaviour was very unwelcoming. After the order we had to wait another 15min for beer to be on our table? Does it end here? No, the bartender bought us the wrong beer and made face when I highlighted the error. Took another 10min to finally get the correct beer on the table. Within 5min the waiter came to our table to have the payment done. What? I never experienced such unprofessionalism. We almost made it our go to pub. Thanks for the great service NOT!

Beer is good! But service can be improved! When you order upstairs, why make a comment on taking glasses downstairs? Organise your work with your colleagues not with customers! When sitting downstairs on a for person table there was no comment on sitting there with two. How surprising that we had to move. So not professional and customer friendly. Very good choice to book out a Christmas party location for your company. We had a party of around 60 people and booked both floors. Plenty of room, good ambience (inside and out) and decent food. Friendly staff. Happy to return!

Popular place, good location, nice interior, tasty beer. I ordered chili con carne and it was not original one and nobody told they they have specific recipe.

Very nice service and a really good place for drinks, especially if you like beer! Long drinks are also good and it's super nice to sit either outside or downstairs with a view over the canal.

Hard to judge, so giving three stars seems fair. The staff is super friendly and offer a good service. However a few things weren't so great. The young waitress is friendly but seems to be quite new and has zero knowledge about the beers. Even basic questions needed to be checked with the coworker. Maybe not the right fit for a beer bar. The Flammkuchen was made from a frozen dough with added ingredients on top. It was very soggy and could have used a few more minutes to be baked finish. I got served a bottled beer that was expired, but got a new one without a problem. The other old bottles were removed immediately from the bar area, still that shouldn't have happen. The toilets are quite nasty, having bug traps (and bugs, Silverfische) on the floor. Ew! The entrance to the bathrooms downstairs is next to the open kitchen area, so people walk in and out right next to where food is made. They have super uncomfortable chairs (where the benches are, you either cannot reach the ground or slide down off them) the staff is aware of it but why than not change it? Menu looks also quite bad and homemade. I hope my feedback helps this place to improve.It was okay, I give three stars for the two waitress/cook who were nice and welcoming.

A nice selection of single-malt whiskeys and a small selection of craft beers. Only three ciders available at the time of our visit even though there are more ciders on the menu. Friendly staff and cozy interior.

We had a great time here on Saturday: it was quite busy and a lot was happening but the tall pale waitress kept her cool. Both waitresses were quite happy to help with any question that came along. The cook did a great job with the super delicious burgers as well! It’s the place to be!

Perfect selection on Whisky and (craft)beer. Stuff is nice and everybody is welcome here. One of my absolute favourite Pubs doesn't matter if you want to watch a Rugby/Football match or drink some beer with your mates. This is the right place

Nice café, but the personnel was not very nice. No greeting when entering the spot at all. Waitress went to smoke outside a few times so there was no personnel inside. There were more than a few beers on the menu which they didn’t actually have, quote disappointing.

Super friendly bar. Great staff who cater for all types of traveller and a good selection of bar snacks. However, the drinks selection is where the place truly excels. Making it a warm, friendly multi-cultural gem.

Good beer selection, well-kept draughts. However, food takes more than an hour to arrive and when asking about this it's "because we're not really allowed to serve food". Clearly the implication was I should be grateful they do it anyway. Weird.

Great selection of craft beers. Simple range of quality pizzas complement them perfectly. Friendly staff make for an all round great little find. It's nicely set back from the main drag of poor German Larger Beer bars and well worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Lovely place that does cocktails however the waitress was so miserable and rude. I tried cheering her up making small talk but wasn't interested. Served me the wrong drink and refused to change it. Shame as she cost the owner a lot of money as with a group of 22 who felt the same so we all left.

Great spot for craft ales and pizza - had the 4 beer paddle for €9 and a cracking Italian homemade pizza with crunchy crispy base. Just what was needed to round off a few days at Wacken Open Air and a visit to Hamburg- what a great city 👍🏻👌

I recently visited "The Baby Goat Barn" pub in Hamburg, Germany and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. The vibe was just right - it was lively without being too loud or crowded, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. But what really stood out were the drinks and food. The beer selection was impressive, and I really enjoyed trying some of the local brews. And the pizza was definitely a highlight - it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Overall, I highly recommend "The Baby Goat Barn" to anyone visiting Hamburg. It's a great spot to hang out and enjoy some good beer and food with friends. I'm giving it 5 stars because it truly deserves it!

This is one of the best bars I've been to. The beer selection was fantastic. The staff were knowledgeable and fun, even giving me an extra glass in my flight when I was torn. Good music selection and although i didn't have one the pizza looked great.

The service was quick and good, the beer was extremely delicious along with personal help from our server to choose the right one. The food was quick and good, although the options for snacks are slightly less. Definitely a must visit to try different beers and relax at a nice location.

This is one of my most favourite Irish pubs in Hamburg. I keep going back over and over. From outside, it doesn't look like what it beholds, but when you get there, you will be surprised. The place gives a little vibe of a stone cave. Not entirely, though. Though they got enough space but this place can be really full on weekends. So better to book early. The staff is really friendly with their top-notch service. The crowd is also really fun. Overall it is a must go place if you wanna enjoy a cold beer in a warm, friendly environment. Definitely great place to hang out with a small or large group.

Visited whilst on a business trip and was great! The football was on, there was a nice buzzing atmosphere and the Guinness was awesome! Food menu was small, but plenty of options to chose from. I had the fish and chips and was lovely! What more can you want?!

Welcoming pub. Good spot for watching games. When we are there they had Premier League, American football and Ryder Cup. Good service and great beers.

I enjoyed my visit to Starbucks in Hamburg. The place was really nice!! The staffs were so friendly, they recommend us a really good drink especially for Spring. We tried Ice matcha latte with coconut milk, Java chip frappuccino with decaf and Creeme brulee Frappucino. Ganz toll!! 🤎🤎😊😊

A good place to rest in cold weather. It is enjoyable in space and atmosphere!! But others like friendliness and cleanliness don’t meet expectations. On the surface they all look kind but esp. the cleaning staff or the janitor gave a hint of being under stress: overall, I am still satisfied. Prices hiked too much for ordinary salary men.

Beautiful building! Nice views to the water if you go upstairs. You'll also find charging outlets upstairs and even desk space to work in peace. The employees spoke English!

The building is beautiful, but the coffee is pretty mediocre. Considering the price, it's not worth it — Starbucks is honestly terrible in comparison. It's nice to look around, though, and the place itself is quite pretty.

Excellent customer service! I have an allergy to citrus fruits, so the Baristas checked all the ingredients for lemon/lime juice and helped me choose the best drink, easily replacing milk with oat milk. Everything is very tasty, the staff is polite and quickly fulfills orders🥰 The toilets are not in perfect condition due to the large number of visitors, but there is paper and several booths, which is good for a coffee shop located in the center.

One of the Starbucks de look so pretty and could be much more comfy. I mean I love Starbucks I know it's not a German thing but I do love them I love the concept and I'm sad because the one in the middle of the city is no longer acceptable for me and this one's starting to go downhill and I so appreciate the architecture but look at what happened to the chairs.... Sadly It's a great location... The views are over the water...

Centrally located with an amazing view! Service was very good even tho it was empty this time of a day (usually it’s overcrowded). The guys preparing our coffee were nice (maybe because we were the only one 😂). The interior it has this old cool vibe, the ceiling is one of a kind. If you want to enjoy your coffee in piece at this place, come in the early hours when they open, otherwise you wont have the same experience. EDIT: We came back, had another one pumpkin spice latte with carrot cake and pumpkin cake. Boy… they tasted so good! Don’t miss them! We’ll be back for sure. 🤩

Fantastic place! We had a swift and nice waiter. Also the table was superb, with a great view over the harbour. The food was heaven. A must visit.

I went to the bar for a mid-afternoon apéro and couldn’t have chosen better. The beer cocktail menu is new and interesting. I was impressed with the elegance in presentation and flavors of my pick, the Bloody Pirate. The ambiance is informed by the harbor view on one side and bar on the other. The selection of apéro bites was wide and high quality; I very much enjoyed the homemade potato chips.

Surrounded by an extraordinary Building “Elbphilharmonie” Störtebecker is a great choice for a nice dinner or simple drink a beer. I chose Duck with truffle sauce which was really exquisite accompanied by a good Italian Primitive. Highly recommended for having a romantic dinner with your wife!!!

This should be a must-do place for any tourist visiting Hamburg - and if you like beer, even better. You need to get a free ticket for access to the curved escalator that will take you the length of the building. The view at the top is quite something so try and do it on a clear day. The bar is signposted, easy to find, and has the same great views of the harbour cranes and surrounds. There were 13 Stoertebeker beers on tap - too many for a Thursday 3pm. We enjoyed both the roggen and bernstein weizens, and the Atlantik Ale. Service was friendly and patient with camara-phone tourists. The visit was definitely worth the walk.

Delicious food, fantastic beers, friendly staff and great views over Hamburg and its harbour. Located directly in the Elbphilharmonie, one of Hamburg’s landmark buildings, this place is great before going to the concert, but also simply if you are looking for a good restaurant in Hamburg.

I recently visited Hamburg and stumbled upon this gem of a bar. This place had it all - a fantastic selection of beers, delicious food, and a great atmosphere that made for a perfect night out. Upon entering the bar, I was struck by the rustic decor and cozy ambiance. The staff were friendly and helpful, and my party was quickly seated and handed menus. The beer selection was impressive, with an extensive list of craft beers from local breweries as well as international favorites. I tried the house beer, which was great and it was so good that I had to order a second. But the beer was only half the story: the food was equally outstanding. The menu featured classic German dishes with a modern twist, and each dish was expertly prepared and presented. I ordered the pork schnitzel, which was crispy and flavorful, and the accompanying sides were perfectly cooked and seasoned. One of the best things about the place was the atmosphere: it was laid-back and convivial, with a mix of locals and tourists enjoying their meals and drinks. Even though the bar was busy, the noise level was never overwhelming, and my party was able to have a pleasant conversation throughout the night. In summary, if you're looking for a great bar and restaurant in Hamburg that has it all - fantastic beer, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere - then this is the place for you. Face it, Germans and jokes are not always a good combination. Being a proper German restaurant this place doesn't joke about two cornerstones of Germany: Beer and Pork!! They are serious and you'll know it as soon as you taste their food. I had a perfect pale ale, and a brilliant pork dish. Really, this place does serve excellent meals, at very reasonable prices. Tasty, balanced, .. it was excellent. Highly recommended!

Well worth the trip out to Norderstedt. The place was booked out but we were able to get a seat at the bar. The food was first class. Other people's plates were very tempting too The beers were good.

It's a great place to stay for a few (more) beers. It's clever to reserve a table in advance, cos otherwise it's difficult to get one at the late evening. The homemade beers tastes very good, and so do the others as well. If you're hungry, the menu will offer also salads, spare ribs, burger etc. The prices are OK, therefore the service personal (the Boss in particular, such a lovely guy) is good, friendly and polite.

Cracking bar with 30 beers on tap. It's a super comfy and relaxing bar - germutlich! Beers from all over Europe and everything from stouts and black IPAs to honey beer, sours and all the usual pales and IPAs. The pizzas looked great but we were too late...

Great beer selection but the prices are quite high. Who would pay 4,5€ for a 25cl Störtebeker? The console and the Untapped screens are fun though.

She didn’t just serve drinks — she connected with us, asked what kind of music we liked and actually played the songs we mentioned, which immediately made us feel at home. She also took the time to share her knowledge about beers, explaining different varieties and letting us discover flavors we probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise. You could tell she really enjoys what she does, and that passion is contagious. On top of that, Sasha went out of her way to suggest places in Hamburg that we should visit to really get to know the city better. It wasn’t just about the bar; she made the whole night feel like part of a bigger, authentic experience. Honestly, Sasha made our trip memorable in a way we didn’t expect. It’s rare to meet someone who can combine such genuine friendliness with professionalism, but she does it effortlessly. I wish every bartender had her mix of humor, knowledge, and hospitality. Amazing craft beer place!! One of the best I've been ever! The number of taps is amazing, and the selection is great as well!! Great service as well and it is super comfortable! The music selection is also great and it is at a level that you can have conversations in, which is something that some places don't value as much unfortunately!

Excellent craft beer bar in a convenient location. More than 30 draft beers and additional bottles and cans as well. They have a nice mix of local craft beers and import beers and the prices are reasonable. Not many places to sit because of the different interior and the ordering process takes a bit too long during peak hours. Highly recommended for beer lovers.

Higher prices but really cool spot! I got to try 3 sours and pick my favorite (Ruby Berry Cheesecake sour). It was so delicious, more of a cocktail than a beer! Interior design is really cool too, really fun seating arrangement with different levels, comfy furniture, even board games.

Stopped by for a beer on a Monday night. It’s a super cool place, but it was quite empty. And serving 0,25l beers (at 0,5l prices) is not really for this big guy 😅 the beer was really good though, to be fair!

Interesting place with very nice personal and cozy atmosphere. Traditional dishes are ready but quite specific, so took out into account.

The service was very good. The menu apparently changes every day. But not many options to choose from. The day I went to the restaurant I didn't want steak, and I couldn't find anything else tempting enough. All my friends loved the steak though! :-) They have a cool smoking lounge by the way in the basement!

The dinner is average at best, i have seen canteens serving better food. We were especially disappointed after seeing quite good reviews. The "Zwiebelrostbraten" was very dry, the "spätzle" did not seem fresh (or it was just overcooked). The wine selection is very poor (most of wines are rated 2.5-3 on the vivino scale) although we managed to find one which was quite good (it was actually the best tasting thing of the evening). In general, it seems the owner/the chef are not enjoying what they are doing - and it shows.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal here. The restaurant itself is cosy, and the staff friendly and welcoming. It was great for 6 of us, but would also suit a couples' meal or a date. Although the menu was small, this meant that the service was fast, the quality was great and well worth the money. Thankfully they had a menu in English, and were more than happy to spend time with us explaining what a couple of things were. They had 2, 3 course set menus and an a la carte section. You should be willing to spend around 30-60 euro each depending on what you are drinking, how many courses etc. The only downside was that we were too early to make use of the Whiskey Bar.

Lovely, great dinner with my love. Wine was lovely too. There is a whiskybar downstairs, great news for us. Too bad it doubled as a smoking room. Place filled up with thick smoke quickly, we abandoned.

Fantastic food, even if you think you're not a fan of the German cuisine (if such thing exists). It's fresh and delicious and well portioned. Slightly more expensive but you'll get excellent food for the price. MAULTASCHEN GALORE
