Europa Passage is a modern and spacious shopping center located in the heart of Hamburg. It offers a wide range of well-known retail stores, global dining options, and convenient services all under one roof. The five-story building features over 150 shops, including popular chain-stores like C&A, Peek & Cloppenburg, and H&M, as well as boutique stores such as AppelrathCupper and Ansons.
Modern and spacious shopping mall in the center of Hamburg. Great mix of stores—from fashion and electronics to books and groceries. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, with escalators and elevators on every floor. Centrally located between Jungfernstieg and Mönckebergstraße, and easily reachable by public transport or on foot. Also has underground parking. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the city and want to shop, eat, or just take a break indoors!
Alessia — Google review
Nice to have rest on lake and fountain after shopping in city centre
Muayad G — Google review
Europa Passage offers a wide variety of shops and dining options in the heart of Hamburg. The mall is spacious and well-located, though it can get quite busy. Nice for browsing, but not particularly unique. Okay food stands.
Martin J — Google review
Europa Passage is such a vibrant and elegant place right in the heart of Hamburg! 🏙️✨ With its modern architecture, wide variety of shops, cozy cafés, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s more than just a shopping center — it’s a great spot to enjoy the city life. Always a pleasure to visit!
Reza Z — Google review
Europa Passage in Hamburg is a modern, central shopping mall with over 120 shops and a top-floor food court. Easily accessible by public transport and with underground parking, it’s great for shopping, dining, or a quick break. Clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.
Hasan H — Google review
An okay shopping centre, nothing special in terms of shops and variety. The two stars are because I find it absurd that the only toilets are on the top floor near the food court, and they always have a massive queue, especially the women's.
Adriana K — Google review
Shop till you drop and when you do, there’s a food court to revive you for round two.

Shopping
Hamburger Meile is a contemporary shopping center in Hamburg, offering a wide range of boutiques, services, food options, and kids' play areas. After undergoing renovations in 2010, it has become one of the city's top shopping destinations with over 150 shops. The mall features an array of clothing and shoe stores as well as a supermarket for daily needs.
Hamburger Meile is quite a large mall, and the best part is that it’s very well connected—there’s a train station close by, which made getting there really easy. We didn’t explore the entire mall since we were just looking for a quick jacket for the rest of our trip. We found what we needed at New Yorker, which is located inside the mall. The prices were surprisingly low, and the quality was great—we got a really good deal on sweaters. There were many other brands and stores in the mall as well, so it’s definitely a good spot for shopping if you’re in the area or need something on the go.
YNA — Google review
Mall is clean and has a train station across the street so it's easy to get to. Mid rating because of lack of interesting retailers. Most stores fronts are occupied, but it's an odd collection of vendors for leisurely browsing. You walk the whole mall and the food court is tragically the most interesting part. It was hard to find Christmas presents for the whole family or even shop for a NYE dress bc there just weren't a lot of great store options to pick from. If you're going for one thing from one of their retailers specifically the visit is sufficient. The Mall has a Ritual, got candles for friends, there is an H&M -was really picked through, and there is a shop to buy gift wrapping/packaging, so the bare minimum is met, but you're left desiring more and likely end up needing to head elsewhere when looking for gifts and having variety.
Raquel — Google review
Big shopping mall with almost everything you need . From big clothing brands to nice eateries and restaurants and big child playing area. My daughter loves going there almost daily for children rides. Easily accessible from U Bahn as well as bus.
Divya D — Google review
Have more toilets ! My kid had to use the toilet and we had to walk the toilet entire mall to find the one toilet that was not working. Highly ridiculous! Have more toilets or at least more signs that the toilet is not working or the alternatives. Idiotic system to the core!
Kunal P — Google review
It's a very popular shopping center. You can find everything here. And it has a good atmosphere. It's fun here. Cinema and various foods and everything you need.
Hamidreza M — Google review
Quite a few shopfronts remain empty. Toilet accessibility is not the best, one of them remains closed for refurbishment. Poorly air conditioned in summer.
F — Google review
I live nearby to Hamburger Meile. I have to say that since it is one of the longest malls in at least Germany It doesn't have that much to offer and it needs some renovations. The good thing it's not that crowded most of the time so you are not that overwhelmed when shopping . but the stores they need improvement and also the food court is quite good offering variety of foods. Rewe and Aldi there are also a plus.
Arian B — Google review

Hanseviertel is a traditional shopping arcade in Hamburg, offering a variety of specialty shops for clothing, jewelry, and more. Situated between the Town Hall and Gansemarkt, this large center houses 53 stores across 9,000 square meters. The arcade's design reflects its Hanseatic heritage with bronze inlays featuring coats of arms from Hanseatic cities.
A new world with this world . A beautiful shopping centre must place to vist in Hamburg. I love the constitution of this building a lot .
JEEVAN S — Google review
Nice, seemingly independent shopping centre. Didn't appear to haveany of the big chains there but was some nice shops and places to eat.
Daniel A — Google review
"Hanseviertel offers a charming blend of shopping and culture nestled in the heart of the city. With its unique mix of boutique stores, eateries, and historic architecture, it's a delightful escape for both locals and tourists. The atmosphere is inviting, blending the traditional with the modern seamlessly. Whether you're shopping for unique finds, enjoying a leisurely meal, or simply soaking in the ambiance, Hanseviertel provides a memorable experience that captivates all who visit."
George — Google review
Good shopping centre, with a clean and free toilet.
Kenneth L — Google review
It’s one of those typical department stores. But it is a nice and fancy place to visit with a lot of shops inside. The building itself is built beautifully as well.
Rani N — Google review
Very pretty building with cute boutique shops BUT I came here for Sézane as their website said it is here. Their sign is still outside the building as well. However, when you go inside, there is no Sézane and the map says there isn't either.
Madara M — Google review
The place looks like very beautiful and pleasant, but the only thing is parking issue. Paid parking is very small and narrow parking lot and also difficult to get in and out.

Alsterhaus, located at the Jungfernstieg of Hamburg, has been a premium shopping destination for over a century. This massive department store offers an extensive range of fashion items, home goods, and gourmet products across its six floors. Despite several renovations, it has maintained its luxurious ambiance and exclusive offerings. From international luxury brands to trendy home accessories and prime groceries, Alsterhaus seamlessly blends tradition with modernity.
Lovely! There are plenty of high-end shops if you have cash to splash! We were blown away by the restaurant on the top floor .. in itself worth a visit. Fantastic views and excellent food and drinks at affordable prices! Cakes a-mazing !! 😃
Jules C — Google review
Today, I had a distressing experience during my first visit to the shopping center. Initially, I perceived it as a place with upscale clothing and gourmet food, including caviar and lobster. (Please post this reference it is real, check the video attached). There are several expensive restaurants and high-end boutiques. I decided to have a slice of cake at "Cheesecake Heaven" a café within the mall, 4- floor. However, after enjoying my dessert and chatting with my friend, I was shocked to notice mice roaming around on the floor. This was alarming to me, and I promptly informed the waiter about the issue. I'm worried that if there are mice, there are also rats present. Witnessing a mouse in a dining establishment open to the public is concerning, as it poses health risks. I'm concerned about the potential health implications of consuming food in an environment where rodents are present. The waiter didn't take any action after being informed of the situation. Proper hygiene standards must be upheld in public spaces, and if there is evidence of a rat infestation, the building should be temporarily closed for thorough disinfection. This was a distressing experience for me, and I believe it's essential for the shopping center to address this issue promptly to ensure the safety and well-being of its visitors. I discovered the rodent after finishing my cake. Had I been aware, I would have left immediately. It's likely that I consumed a contaminated dessert, the mouse /rats come from the kitchen. And I respectfully believe the establishment should consider compensating me for any resulting inconvenience or harm. My primary concern now is for my health and the health of other patrons, and I sincerely hope that no one falls ill as a result of this incident.
Gerardine L — Google review
The menu has not changed in the last 20years, but it’s constantly good and the waiters are brilliant and professional. The atmosphere is top with views to the sea in a lovely setting with 2 smoking areas available
Carly U — Google review
Not sure why not showing in the Google map but recommended to visit the cafe called Maxim on the 3rd floor. Nice view available with good coffee or drinks and cakes. Department it self is normal and small with high end brands.
Sophie Y — Google review
The most polite stuff in Hamburg I ever seen. Excellent decoration every season. Perfect location in front of the small Alster lake in the heart of the city. On the top floor restraints with the view. I really recommend you to visit Alsterhaus is you need to buy a bag, shoes or cosmetics.
Y G — Google review
We’ve been to Alsterhaus during the short open period in March 2021 and it has been a very good and safe experience. The online reservation of a time slot was easy and quick, a welcoming person was at the door to check the reservation and accordingly the Alsterhaus was relatively empty during the visit. The shop was super well organized, the selection was fantastic and the sales assistants were very helpful and respectful towards CV-19 measures (which is very important to me). A great visit and a nice change given the only-online shopping experience we had in the last months.
Cresten F — Google review
You got every thing what money can buy. All the big brands with great section

Alsterhaus is a big mall located in Hungfersteig, Hamburg. Well, if you are in the city center, you can visit this place just for chillin and having a nice coffee. The area is pretty big with nice bench were you can sit along with friends or just having a moment with yourself. You also can take a boat trip, and they will bring you through the Alster lake. I guess for 5-7 euros per person.

Alsterarkaden is a area adjacent to Alsterfleet that features a round-arched arcade in the Italian style, supposedly modelled on similar arcades of the Venice canals. It's pretty and a nice place to eat with a nice view of the canals, the Town Hall and Rathausmarkt. Also a lovely place for pictures.

Notable street
Mönckebergstraße, affectionately known as "Mo" by locals, is an 800-meter long shopping street in Hamburg. It is lined with a charming array of large department stores, boutiques, and restaurants. The street is a shopper's paradise, offering a wide variety of goods including fashion, jewelry, furniture, antiques, interior design items, and arts and crafts.
It was a lovely experience and I would love to visit the place again soon.... and in the evening was a young beautiful lady performing on the street 😍 singing so beautifully

Nice busy shopping street, partly pedestrian, partly pedestrian with bicycle and public buses only. Along the street there are many trees. The street connects main train station with the city center (Rathaus). In the middle of the street there is an old fountain Mönckebergbrunnen and an old brick church - Hauptkirche St. Petri.

Elbe Einkaufszentrum, located in western Hamburg on Osdorfer Landstrasse, is a premier shopping destination offering a diverse range of over 180 stores. From international and local fashion labels like Levis, H&M, Vero Moda, Mango, Zara to electronics outlets and beauty salons, the mall has something for everyone. Visitors can also enjoy various dining options and a kids' play area.
Great Shopping Experience at Elbe Einkaufszentrum! Elbe Einkaufszentrum is one of my favorite malls in Hamburg. It’s spacious, clean, and has a really nice layout — easy to navigate without feeling too crowded. There’s a great mix of stores, from fashion and beauty to electronics and home goods. Whether you’re looking for big brands or smaller shops, there’s something for everyone. I especially like how well-organized everything is. The atmosphere is relaxed, the lighting is nice, and there are plenty of seating areas if you need a break. Also, the food options are solid — from quick snacks to proper meals, you’ve got choices. It’s easy to reach by public transport, and there’s lots of parking if you drive. Overall, a super convenient and comfortable place to shop, hang out, or just stroll around.
Humi S — Google review
This is the only Shopping Complex i found near to Elbe. It has all the necessary utilities and shops. It is wheelchair/ Kinderwagen accessible. It has play areas for kids Saloons beautiful parlor. From branded bags to watches. PARKING is free for 1 hour( thats very helpful) It's a good spot for shopping groceries too.
Manpreet S — Google review
Elbe-Einkaufszentrum is one of the larger, more complete shopping malls in Hamburg’s west—located directly on Osdorfer Landstraße, easily reachable by bus (lines 1, 21, 22, 39, etc ). It’s not a tourist destination, but if you live in the area or find yourself nearby, it’s a highly practical spot. There are around 180 stores, including mainstream retail like Zara, H&M, MediaMarkt, Saturn, Müller, and Douglas. You’ll also find Rewe and Aldi inside, which makes it convenient for quick grocery stops. For shoes, there’s Deichmann and Görtz, and plenty of smaller fashion boutiques mixed in. Food-wise, it’s not a gourmet destination, but you’ve got the basics covered: McDonald's, Nordsee, BackWerk, Kamps, Asian noodles, and a few snack bars and cafés. There’s a seating area in the food court, enough for a quick break but don’t expect anything fancy. The mall itself is clean, modern, and well-maintained. Toilets are clean, there are lockers available, and everything is fully wheelchair accessible—elevators, wide corridors, and marked disabled parking spots right at the entrance. Parking is easy: there’s a large multi-level parking garage with hundreds of spaces, and the first 2 hours are often free depending on the day or promotions. It does get busy on Saturdays but never chaotic. Security and info staff are visible and helpful. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the mall, and the signage is clear if you don’t know your way around
Emmy G — Google review
If you are in Hamburg you may have a nice place to enjoy good stores, good restaurants..however, some store clerks sem not to like their Jobs and show it by their bad manners. At C&A I had a very bad experience with a bad-humored clerk. Another bad moment was when I saw a piano there with a sign saying it could be played at some times on Fridays and Saturdays. I am a piano lover and can play some so coincidently I was there on a Friday at 13:00. There was a boy playing beautifully. I went shopping and when I was leaving The boy finished and I asked him if I could try to play. He agreed . All of a sudden an old , bad-mannered Man went to talk to my son who was there, asking him to tell me to stop because " I was not professional and that was not a place for people to practice. " I stopped immediately and left The piano. I only played " Torna Sorriento"and an old German song" The kleine Knape". That Man showed me exactly The opposite of the lyrics of the song...da fragt Man keine was du hast Oder bist...". I left Hamburg with a very bad impression. If I get back there, I'm sure That is a place I will avoid. I am no pianist and it was not written there the piano was for professionals, I speak German. Anyway, if you go to ELBE EINKAUFSZENTRUM DO NOT PLAY that piano if you play just for fun and you aren't a prof. On the other hand , I recommed stores like BONITA , THALIA and the restaurant CIAO BELLA. Great communication skills and humanistic approach.jlh

You have pleanty of options available for shopping here. There is a food area next to the second entrance where many small food shops could be found. It also has huge parking spaces available.

The Mercado shopping mall in Altona is a popular location for shoppers and visitors to the city. The mall features international food vendors and a wide variety of retail shops and services. There is also a pet shop on the premises. Since personal problems have interfered with my visits recently, I can only mention that the Deichmann store is great.
A very nice mall with many shops of different brands there along with the food court. People of vaccinity like to go there mpre often and specially tell the visitors to visit the mall at least one. They show mercado to their guests as a tourist spot.
Amir W — Google review
Dropped by Mercado recently—it’s small, but packed with a surprising variety of stalls and goodies. Perfect spot for a casual wander on a rainy day, especially if you’re in the mood to browse a bunch of things without getting soaked outside. The atmosphere is cozy and low-key, and even though it’s compact, there’s always something new to discover—whether it’s a snack, a gift, or just something fun to look at. Ideal for a chill, indoor little adventure.

It's a big complex where you can buy everything ranging from groceries, clothes, food, bread, special nuts, pets food to HNO(ENT specialist doctor), library etc. it also has some restaurants and sports wear shops. The top floor is meant for visitors parking. Big supermarkets like Aldi and Budni belong to this building. It also has an escalator and elevator, on the top of a normal staircase. You can also find benches at the walkway to relax and to have an ice cream!

Loved the whole essence and vibes of this place, from the service to the atmosphere, the decorations and the dishes. Everything tasted wonderful, only the coffee was a bit bland and watery, but the beans smelled great and with a bit of practice the baristas will do great in short time. The meals were outstanding. I do recommend the shakshuka and the oat bowl was hands down delicious. The series very charismatic and friendly, as well as polite. A place everyone in Hamburg should have breakfast/brunch at ☺️

Phoenix Center is a popular, contemporary retail complex with a diverse mix of stores, restaurants and services. It is especially popular among residents of Harburg who do their shopping almost exclusively there. The place can get very crowded on the weekends, but it's still an excellent choice for finding everything you need. Prices are also very reasonable. I would love to visit Phoenix Center again.
An impressive and spacious shopping mall with plenty to offer! Unlike many others, this one was bustling with energy during my visit, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. It boasts a diverse range of stores, from popular international brands like Pandora, Media Markt, and Footlocker to unique local shops. The food court is just as diverse, catering to all tastes with a wide selection of cuisines. Spanning three levels (if I recall correctly), this mall is a shopper’s paradise—whether you're hunting for the latest fashion, tech gadgets, or just a great place to spend time. If you love shopping, this is definitely the place to be!

Excellent location with everything you desire. This shopping mall contains everything you need in one place and offers a wide range of options. They carry the majority of brand-name clothing, shoes, and other items. This is a mall with spacious areas. The price is also rather affordable. There's also a food court on the ground floor. It is also close to S-Bahn.Would love to go again. Please do visit.

Great for street eating and meeting friends. There is a lovely Ucranian waiter who will exceed all your expectations. There are lots of places to shop and eat. You should visit this place when you come to Hamburg. Very expensive cars like to pass and showoff thru this places. I dont like people who smoke, here in Germany its a very nasty and unhealty habit that should be discouraged and erradicated for the sake of next generations to come.

The Billstedt Center is a large, popular shopping mall with a wide variety of chain retailers and casual eateries for people of different ethnicities. It's easy to find what you need here, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
Billstedt Center in Hamburg is a vibrant and welcoming shopping destination that I highly recommend! It’s a place where people from all nationalities come together, with a strong presence of the Afghan community, which adds to its unique charm and cultural diversity. The center offers a great variety of shops and restaurants, making it easy to find something for everyone. The parking facilities are convenient and well-organized, though slightly expensive — but the convenience makes it worthwhile. Overall, Billstedt Center has a cozy and lively atmosphere that makes it a fantastic place to visit. Whether for shopping or simply enjoying the vibrant environment, it’s a spot I’d definitely recommend!.

An older style 1980's shopping centre. It has good access to the Hamburg U-Bahn network. It is home to Hamburg's only Primark and a Woolworths. I would recommend this shopping centre if you are looking for some of the main Fashion brands like C&A, New Yorker, Pepco and T K Max.

Not very clean and not well organized. Parking is good cause I had to pay only 50 cent per hour, so 3 hours = 1.5 euro. People here are from all around the world and mostly from turkey or Syria.

I eill count the brands and you will say woaa; primark (one and only in hamburg), kik, müller, nanu nana, penny, euroshop and rewe. Lies on the north of Hamburg, this place is very attractive for those who would like to save money while shopping.

Overall the center is beautiful on the Inside, but the atmosphere will fit much better with the outside. It will not give you the correct impression of how beautiful Hamburg can be. The people are overall not so friendly and there is a constant feeling that you are not welcome. The free photo booth was broken, the toilets not so clean and most elevators will not comfortably fit a large baby wagon or a wheelchair. Also getting inside is quite hard in any other way then walking. Doors are not open or automatic and 75% of the many entrances are stairs. Not recommended with kids or a physical disability.

It is a very convenient place for me to visit, due to its close location to my residence. However as days go by, it is getting a little crowded. You can find a lot of interesting shops in this mall, my most favourite is their fruit place on ground floor.
Tahseen B — Google review
I remember this shopping center in its more glorious days in the late 90s. It was a bit more glitzy then, and felt organic. These days, it feels stuffed and overrun. Some of the good shops have left, leaving it to feel rather empty. There is a bit of everything and it’s warm and dry. Apart from that, I’m not feeling it. I wouldn’t come here for a leisurely shopping session, rather, to quickly pick up some necessities and then leave again.

The Alstertal Shopping mall is a large and enduring shopping center with over 200 stores. It features international eateries and a childcare center, making it a true shoppers paradise.

Gerard M — Google review
One of the higher end shopping malls in Hamburg with paid parking only. Completely covered so perfect for a rainy day. One can stroll for hours along the different levels, many clothing stores, grocery, and book store as well as the Apple store. Lots of very misleading advertising: “all items half price” turns into “only items with orange sale stickers are further reduced” … and “membership required to get discounted prices”. Plenty of good choices and nice areas to sit are the real draw of this mall IMO. The biggest turn off though was that bathroom use is charged at 70 cents per customer- after dropping several hundred Euros at various stores and food stalls it costs additional funds to park and to pee. The written text notes it as a suggestion “empfehlen” but the lady next to the sign enforces it and can’t even hang paper towels. That is not customer friendly!
Sm H — Google review
The selection of shops was boring. There’s a nice food hall, although it doesn’t offer a wide variety of food. There are some good chocolate shops.
Heidi J — Google review
Clean.Nice.Organised. Many shops are located inside this business; such as clothing stores, food stores and even shoe stores, everything you need. Almost all stores are open currently although some close early because of the virus. In order to enter certain shops (e.g H&M)you may have to fill a form including information like your full name, number and address. All stores require you to wear a mask at all times. The toilet -located on the second floor- is free and clean, but you can choose to pay a 50 cent tip.

Alstertal Mall is well-known German shopping resource situated in the north of Hamburg. The shopping gallery plan offers space for tens of well-known specialist shops on three elegantly designed promenade levels. The latest expansion project had turned this mall to be the largest center in northern Germany. The shopping center is well-desgined and maintained. The interior is dominated by light natural stone combined with dark wood and stainless steel. Lounges, plants and fountains with light and water features create a relaxing atmosphere. Have fun in shopping and spend some money.

Easy shopping centre… would like some more variation in shops for more affordable clothing. Accessibility is good and lots of car spaces. We went in the morning when the parking was 1,30€ and came back an hour and half later and parking had gone up to 1,50€ This year for Christmas there is a gondola for children to take them to see Santa, who if I’m honest could be made more to look like him and wouldn’t hurt him to smile 😅😂 jolly Santa and all that! But we explained that this Santa is a helper to the real Santa. It’s a shame that there aren’t more places that do this. Having lived in Uk there’s a magical experience in every garden centre to see Santa 🎅🏼

Upscale shopping mall with a large selection of clothing brands as well as groceries and restaurants. Convenient parking possibilities and easy to get to also with public transportation. The shopping mall has everything you need. There are multiple hair salons, a Rewe in the basement and a very large Apotheke as well. Across from the mall there are several other stores, like Saturn, and also restaurants. In the middle of the mall there is a grocery and restaurant section with a very good selection of vegetables, butchers, and restaurants.
