Nord Coast Coffee Roastery is a must-visit for breakfast lovers. Known for its delectable Avocado toast, Acai bowls, and the irresistible Banana Bread Pancakes, this cafe pays meticulous attention to detail in presenting these fluffy delights as edible works of art. The menu offers an array of mouthwatering options such as waffles with berries, pancakes topped with Mascarpone cream, Acai bowls, and various egg-avocado variations.
Great coffee, sourdough bread with eggs and cinnamon roll. Lovely service, beautiful view. Everything was perfect. We visited on Sunday morning soon after 9 am. The place was already busy with most tables reserved in advance.

Beautiful coffee roasters with a gorgeous cafe. The staff are very friendly and efficient, the patrons are eclectic, and the atmosphere is very hipster/stylish. The smell of roasting coffee beans is devine as well! I don't think I've ever had avocado toast with peas mashed into it, creative and unusual for sure, but very fresh and delicious. Perfectly poached eggs and delicious coffee, what more could you want!
Bianca W — Google review
Great first stop in Hamburg. Very welcoming service, even at peak hour, which is appreciated as an outsider. Coffee is absolutely delicious and on par in price with any other boutique coffee shop. Ordered the waffle with fruit and maple syrup and it was a good no frills waffle. Very recommended and the best coffee I had in Hamburg.
Alonso A — Google review
Amazing place to hangout in Hamburg. Flat white was amazing ended up drinking 2 of them. The food is easily customisable and I would definitely come here again. Recommend scrambled eggs with sourdough bread and avocado cream on the side. And of course the acai bowl
Guru C — Google review
Great filtered coffee and Asai bowl. Excellent service. Amazing for first dates and dinning breakfast/brunch. They roast the coffee beans on the spot and offer different filtering options. Great selection of items – doesn’t feel there’s too many options that it’s hard to choose. Highly recommended for rainy days. Must visit for lovers of açaí and filtered coffee.
Ema B — Google review
tl;dr an enjoyable coffee in a rather unenjoyable setting Upside: Two shots of well roasted espresso with characteristic flavor and a chocolatey hint Downside: An unfortunately very hectic atmosphere on a Monday afternoon with stressed waitresses and a simply not the most comfy seating area
The B — Google review
Great coffee, friendly team, delicious food (we tried the waffles and avo with eggs). No wait on a Monday but a bit of a queue on weekends (if like us you hadn’t made a reservation), but worth the wait. Kids enjoyed watching the coffee roasting on Monday morning ☺️

Very very friendly staff with great service. Place allows dogs inside and once we sat down the waitress brought us a bowl of water for our dog. It will be my go-to breakfast spot even though we live 45 minutes away

Always be my go-to coffee after the gym. Not only because of their good coffee, but the atmosphere also nice, calm and welcoming. The team who works there as well are very welcoming, kind and friendly. These days, they also serve various good cakes. Stockiest of beans and coffee stuff also great. Love this place so much and highly recommend 🤍

A time powerhouse of a cafe. Very modern and sleek. The coffee was outstanding and so was the service. The baristas are very knowledgeable about coffee and the creative drinks they concoct. They have a restroom and the clientele are mostly friendly people from the neighborhood. A short walk from and to anywhere in Neustadt Viertel. Go! Enjoy!
Ameet K — Google review
☕️ nice coffee shop for a quick stop or takeaway. Not a place to stay too long or work on the computer. 🍪I had a latte with oat milk and a chocolate chip cookie. Latte was good, the cookie was dry and cold, not the best I’ve had. 👍🏼 service is friendly. They sell their coffee to prepare at home. ♿️ not a place for people with restricted mobility or wheelchair.
Priscila J — Google review
First of all, their coffee is delicious. The staff is very helpful. There are not many tables and chairs, but you can find a place because it is not too crowded. There is a toilet inside.
Uncle H — Google review
A 7-minute walk from Stadthausbrücke, I stopped by this café before visiting the nearby Composer’s Museum. Though the interior isn’t particularly spacious, the relaxed atmosphere, complemented by the casual wood-toned decor, makes it an inviting spot. I ordered a flat white with oat milk and a mocha cake. The flat white was mild and silky, while the mocha cake was a bit drier than I had anticipated, though the flavor was perfectly fine. The prices are average, and the barista provided friendly service. It’s a great place to visit while exploring the heart of Hamburg.
Matilda — Google review
Good coffee, really cute stuff and nice prices 👌
Yana I — Google review
You walk and immediately think - they know what they are doing. Their availability of different espresso blends is fantastic. The baristas helped us pick what roast to try. We went with one of each (first love (our fav) and I believe the other once was called dark temptation or something similar. It’s perfect for people that like a more strong and on the bitter side flag white/ have their coffee with sweet pastries 🥐) we went to sit outside and it was lovely!! Definitely a big recommendation from my side.
Hannah T — Google review
This apparently is the original location of the Public Coffee Roasters cafés. The café is very small with around 12 seats, some more outside in the summer time. The interior is spartan but cozy. Less stuff for sale than other Public locations and no food here. We like that. Extremely friendly staff and very good coffee. We tried the Flat White and it was exceptional. We will come back for more.

Visited yesterday for the first time after living in Hamburg for 4 months, and my worst mistake was not visiting this place before It’s my favourite coffee spot in Hamburg from now on! Incredible coffee, very cute and fun design and interior, and the atmosphere is just on another level. It’s so cozy and friendly, that even a first-time visitor feels at home Lots of love and respect, i’m definitely coming back🤍

Coffee was just Ok in my opinion. Nothing special, didn’t taste amazing or anything. I did like the vibe inside though, love the colors.

Loved this place. Visited couple of times. Coffee is good and the service is nice too. Giving 4 stars only cause I wish prices were a bit lower.

favourite roaster in hamburg! i love the lemon loaf and the (iced) filter is always spot on. can’t recommend enough to take some beans home as well! my fav is definitely the gujira

The aesthetic and vibe here is pretty on point. The coffee I got was good, but the milk was slightly off and it made what could have been a 5 star experience slightly less. I would try this again.

Coffee and cake is so gooooood ! Flat white is the best ! Cozy music , comfortable ambience and cute color here! Everything is so nice! I’ll miss this cafe’🤍

Elbgold is a spacious café with its own bagel bakehouse and coffee roasting facility, making it a great spot for families. It's the perfect place to fuel up before a leisurely Saturday or to observe your shopping competition in peace. Despite some initial concerns about unfriendly staff, many visitors praise the excellent coffee and decide to give it a chance.
Wonderful coffee. Espresso is good and the natura filter coffee was top! Very busy place. Food options look good!
Ma J — Google review
Really terrible long black despite all the efforts at doing proper coffee. They weren’t displaying their beans so I don’t know what they were and when they were roasted. But I could also be down to the barista. Vibe is a little off due to the trust-fund-kid clientele. Ordering system also super weird - you wait in line for all the oat-milk-lattes to be ordered and made while customers tiptoe around the bar trying to figure out when and where their coffees will appear, and you then have to find yourself a table with coffee in hand. I wish I had tried the roaster venue first, might have been better.
Alfa R — Google review
THE BEST place to have coffee in HH. Awesome beans! Only improvement would be a bigger place with more seating area… and maybe enough ice cubes during summer…
Sascha E — Google review
I was initially hesitant to visit this place due to some negative reviews about the staff being unfriendly and rude. However, I've also heard that they serve really good coffee, so I decided to give it a chance. While I understand that the baristas might be busy and finding it difficult to smile all the time, I didn't find them to be rude during my visit. Although I do think that they were overwhelmed with the long lines. The drinks are great and their decaf options were great too.
Rhea A — Google review
Very tasty coffee, I would really recommend the place for coffee lovers. Variety of brewed coffee is huge, latte is very mild. What was really shocking for me - the cheesecake was not fresh. I am attaching a picture where you can see that the back of the cake is dried out already.
Maria M — Google review
I had ordered a latte, which I always drink because I can only handle something very light. However, the one I received was so light, even for me. It was almost like it had no coffee taste at all. So, I went back and asked if they could add an extra shot. Three of the employees (I believe one of them was the manager) gathered together and said, ‘So?’ I repeated my request, and I wasn’t mean or loud or anything. They were unfriendly, and told me to pay for the extra shot. Which was totally okay, thankfully I have money for an extra shot :) The problem is their lack of ability to communicate with customers and resolve issues. I mean it doesn’t necessarily take three people to decide whether to add an extra shot or not. :) also you could have done it in a friendly manner, if not free of charge
Zey D — Google review
The coffee used to be amazing everyday. This year, it tastes sometimes watery. But the worst of all is the service. There are SO unfriendly. Even though we come every second day, there are never smiling, never saying hello or thank you. The girls are having attitudes all the time. I don’t understand why the direction let those people ruins their reputation…

Amazing coffee, in this times we couldn't enjoy it sitting inside, took it only to go, but, the barista was great, experienced, nice and cool, the oat milk flat white and the oat milk cappuccino were great, had a slight nutty flavour, we loved it and will definitely come back, to take it to go or later on also to enjoy it inside, once it is possible again.

Café Johanna-Hamburg is a laid-back café located in an old kiosk, offering a variety of breakfast options, sandwiches, salads, and cakes along with coffee. Situated in a tranquil residential area between Landungsbrucken and St Michael's Church, it provides a relaxing atmosphere for visitors to enjoy from morning till early evening. The café is known for its popular breakfast choices such as the Ayurvedic breakfast bowl and small sandwiches prepared fresh each morning.
2025.03.08: just had an oat milk latte, was very busy, bit still the staff was very nice and friendly, despite of really having a lot of people. I can appreciate that a lot. Only downside was that they didn't have any iced drinks. Understandably, it was one of the first very early beautiful sunny spring days in Hamburg. 2025.05.16: came back and had two spices of cake for take-away, was really good quality. Brownie-like cake with red berries sauce and white cream, amazing texture, not too sweet, really really good. Liked it a lot.
Bálint K — Google review
I had a lovely experience at Café Johanna. I was a bit hesitant because it was my first day in Germany and I don't speak German, so I didn't know how the locals would react, but the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I had the porridge, which tasted wonderful and I have been dreaming about since. I also ordered a cappuccino, which was also delicious and expertly done. Overall a great experience and I wish I could come back to visit it again!
Maria H — Google review
Dropped by Café Johanna on a Saturday around 12:15 PM. Parking was a little tricky, and the café was already buzzing with people. The place has a homely feel, filled with friendly chatter and the constant sound of pans and pots from the open kitchen, which actually adds to the charm. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. My scrambled eggs with crispy toast were perfect ..light, fluffy eggs and just the right crunch on the bread. The croissants were fresh and warm too. The cappuccino and latte were fine, though I prefer mine a bit hotter. The menu was different and interesting, not the usual café choices. I loved how every table, chair, and piece of crockery seemed unique, giving the place a creative, eco friendly vibe. It felt like a spot where people come more to talk and relax than rush through a meal. Service was a bit slow, probably because of the Saturday crowd, but it was worth the wait. Would definitely go back to try more from their menu on a quieter day.

Everything was super tasty and the quality-price-quantity ratio was super good! You really need to come early if you want a table (especially outside) it full super quick! I recommend this place it was good and everyone is really nice !

Great spot for a simple but excellent breakfast. The scrambled eggs with toast was perfect. The coffees were well made and the fresh juice was very delicious. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Service was great and the staff was friendly. I would definitely come back.
Lily L — Google review
I had a delightful experience at Hamburg Cafe, especially with their ice cream offerings. From the moment I walked in, the ambience felt cozy and inviting — perfect for enjoying a sweet treat. The ice cream selection was impressive, offering a wide variety of flavours from the classics like vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate to more unique options like blueberry cheesecake and roasted almond fudge. I tried the Belgian chocolate and mango swirl, and both were incredibly rich, creamy, and smooth. You could instantly tell that the ice cream was made with high-quality ingredients. The flavours were well-balanced and not overly sweet, which I absolutely appreciated. The waffle cone was fresh, crunchy, and paired perfectly with the creamy texture of the ice cream. What stood out even more was the presentation — served in elegant bowls with generous toppings like nuts, sprinkles, and syrup. The staff was friendly, polite, and offered great suggestions based on my preferences.

Cafe Johanna is one of the most beautiful cafes I've ever been to. great location, tasteful furnishings and nice staff. the food was incredibly delicious. 2024.02.07: my first café experience in Hamburg, I drunk a double espresso, which was nice. The sparkling water besides was really tasty, I know it sounds funny, but still. Also they had no problem with using a laptop for a while, but also had no Wi-Fi. The lamps and the disco ball are cute and stylish.

Wonderful spot to grab a coffee and a small bite. The cafe latte was excellent with the right amount of foam. While the cafe is cash only, the quality overall is sufficient to overlook this minor point. The small bites are reasonably priced and with a good selection. Cozy seating with big bright windows makes this a great spot to stay for a drink.

Great coffee - the barista knows his coffees and has excelent skills. You can choose between two of their three own roasts ording your coffees. We just had some coffees, however, the tarts and cakes looked stunning as well! Not only a take away coffee place having a few seats in a cosy atmosphere.

Nestled in the heart of the city, Balz und Balz - Café und feine Kost is a trendy, family-run café that exudes a minimalist charm. This delightful spot is owned by siblings Cris and Kathrin Balz, who share an unwavering passion for exceptional coffee and warm hospitality. Guests can indulge in a variety of brews sourced from Germany's finest micro-roasters while savoring delectable cakes lovingly crafted by Kathrin herself.
One of the best cafes in Hamburg, & one of the best cups of coffee in the world guaranteed. The barrister is top quality & the cakes are delicious 💖 The only downfall is that Balz is not open more often! ☕️

Nice café, tasty choices of breakfast and friendly service. The place is small but cozy, chill and relaxed atmosphere. They have options of sweets stuff to eat too.

Loved this small cafe! Delicious coffee, food and super friendly staff - limited seats outside at the moment but perfect when the sun is shining as it was when I visited. Photo of my quark with granola w/pistachios, apricot compote and nectarines doesn’t do it justice - it was so good! The open faced sandwiches looked fantastic and the fresh baked cinnamon rolls smelled amazing. Can’t wait to go back!

Good light roasted coffee. The espresso based drinks are all great. I wasn't too fond of their filter. If you look for cakes and brunch that is also the right place to go to.

If you’re into specialty coffee, feel free to check out this blog that Rike wrote on the coffee scene in Hamburg. We tried out a few. This was one of our favourites. Two cinnamon rolls for just 2,60, fresh waffles for 3 euros and really good cappuccinos. Hello, can we come back soon please?

Really nice coffee shop with fresh pastries and lunch menus. Here a November beetroot soup, served with a tasty piece of fresh bread! & the chocolate cake is really good! Also, very friendly staff!

This place is so lovely and the staff is really wonderful. They were clearly so busy and had people waiting but came to talk to us and explain the menu really carefully and warmly. Our food and drinks were really special and prepared with heart. The juice was especially lovely. The sandwich was really yum and we can’t wait to try more :)

Run by a delightful brother-and-sister duo, this little café really is something different. The latte I had here is absolutely amazing, the best I've had in Hamburg (and I've tried a good amount). Oh and when they say cheese sandwich they mean cheese sandwich. It might be more cheese than sandwich, and it works out brilliantly.

ZEIT Café - Torrefaktum Kaffeerösterei is a local bio-certified coffee roaster that focuses on producing certified organic coffee in socially responsible and sustainable ways. They have a cafe and shop in Ottensen, as well as cafes in the historic old town and HafenCity. The roastery takes pride in hand-roasting their coffee beans in small batches to preserve the aroma, offering visitors the chance to witness the process firsthand through coffee seminars.
I absolutely loved Zeit Café! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the upstairs area is perfect for relaxing with a book while enjoying a specialty coffee. It’s a peaceful little escape in Hamburg—highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy, calm spot to unwind.

Nice atmosphere! The coffee and matcha were good. The barista was very unfriendly and bad mannered though; he would toss stuff and even gave us a dirty cup.

This place is amazing! Deserve five stars even more. I like the ambience of being here, especially with warm as well as friendly environment. Their staffs are super awesome, I visited this place twice and the second time was on the weekend, definitely you need to reserve a seat, otherwise you need to wait (but the staffs / manager are super solutive and friendly) The coffee is amazing, tried their americano and cappuccino with soya milk. They also have some options in cake or pastries. I bookmarked this place as one of my favorite places to hangout.

We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine as they reopened after remodeling the space. Nice way to be welcomed. We had a quiche, a cake and a yoghurt with fruit. The quiche I found delicious, well rounded flavour profile with a teeny bit of spice. The cherry cake was good and the yoghurt a little to water-y, but that might have been the heat (30C in Hamburg). We were somewhat disappointing with the new remodel, as it's difficult to really understand the concept. Some elements are rather fancy, others belong more into a a hipster coffee shop and then there are bizarre photos. Helmut Schmidt smoking, which is fair enough, but also a photo of an ash tray. It is a none smoking Cafe. There is also really no connection to Die Zeit unfortunately.

The Kaffeemuseum Burg is a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts, offering a deep dive into the history of coffee and an extensive exploration of various coffee varieties. The museum, run by the Burg family for almost a century in Hamburg, provides valuable insights into Germany's favorite beverage. Situated in the Speicherstadt, where coffee has been stored and processed since 1896, the museum offers guided tours that cover everything from cultivation to trade and processing of coffee beans.
Among the many nice roasteries/ cafes in Hafen City this is one of my favorites. Its design and atmosphere is very interesting specifically for the tourists. Coffee is good. Staff are great. Also the little gift shop is quite offering. Not all cakes are very good (some really are, but still seem to be - maybe - baked by an industrial bakery).

If you are looking for an authentic place to enjoy tasty coffee this is the place to go. They are also giving coffee tasting workshops. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Also a great shop to buy beans, large variety of coffee for coffee lovers.
Kursad T — Google review
This review is only about the guided tour: We had booked a 50min guided tour of the cellar/basement. The ticket clearly said tour of the cellar and gave timings of 50min. The guide arrived 5min late which is ok. The guide was very friendly and told great stories about coffee roasting and history — we appreciated his passion and knowledge. But he spent 60min giving us a lecture of two machines in the upper cafe. Finally we were taken to basement/museum. But there he just collected us in a circle and again gave lecture of 20min. We could not stay more because we had to catch our train. They should be better organized. The people from the coffee tasting (2h experience) were patched together with those who just wanted the guided tour of basement. Huge waste of money. I would advise people to just book self tour of museum with audio app so you can view the entire basement. Much cheaper.

Review: “A Sip of Perfection—A Hidden Sanctuary for True Coffee Lovers” There are places you stumble upon by accident, but your soul instantly recognizes them as a kind of destiny. That’s how I found Kaffeemagie, a small café tucked away on a quiet street in Hamburg, far from tourist crowds, where coffee isn’t just a beverage—it’s ritual, it’s craft, it’s pure alchemy. The wooden door creaked as I opened it, as if whispering stories of decades past. Inside, the air was rich with the scent of freshly ground beans, of artisanal roasts, of promises waiting to be fulfilled. No loud music, just the comforting hum of the grinder, the hiss of the espresso machine, and the gentle murmur of patrons speaking in reverent tones—like a library, but for the senses. I was greeted by a barista who doesn’t just make coffee—he lives it. I asked for a recommendation, and with a knowing smile, he offered a V60 brew of a Panama Geisha that had just arrived. “We only serve this to people who’ll understand it,” he said. I felt like I had been handed a secret password to a world few get to enter. The brewing process was a quiet performance. Floral aroma, citrusy brightness, and a texture so silky it could pass for velvet. No sugar, of course. Here, the sweetness comes from the bean itself and the care with which it’s treated. I said nothing. Just sat there, sipping, letting time slow down. In one corner, a couple debated anaerobic fermentation methods. In another, someone was reading about heirloom Ethiopian varietals. This is not a café for the rushed. It’s a sanctuary for those who know that coffee has terroir, history, character. I left with a bag of washed Ethiopian beans, a handwritten list of recommendations, and the deep satisfaction that I had experienced something more than a cup of coffee—I had been part of a story. Recommended for: Those who seek specialty coffee handled with respect, precision, and love. Not for those just looking for “something with milk.”
Rey R — Google review
One of my most favourite coffee houses in the entirety of Hamburg. The coffee is first rate. Some of the best if not the best in the city. The cafe is a gorgeous space to sit and relax in for a a while. And the cake......well, go and see for yourself. Wonderful atmosphere and a chunk of history to boot.

Nestled in a charming side street of Hamburg's old town, Marshall Street Coffee is an inviting Australian-style café that radiates a laid-back vibe. Owners Marie and Tristan have created a cozy atmosphere adorned with tropical plants and industrial chic decor, transporting you straight to Australia’s surf paradise. The menu boasts an array of artisanal coffee options alongside creative breakfast dishes that are sure to delight any palate.
We found it while searching a place for breakfast and learned that without reservation cannot enter. Wanted to try our change, team working in there was super kind, they shared with us one table is empty for 1 hour and we had chance to try delicious breakfast option. We tried Turkish Egg and it was absolutely the best breakfast ever had in Germany so far. Service was super quick.

We ordered a long black, an iced filtered coffee and a Croissant Royal. The presentation was awesome and the taste was impeccable. The waitress was really nice even though she was busy taking orders, delivering the plates and even charging and giving back change, she was never impatient with us. Huge thumbs up and would totally recommend this place.
Yen C — Google review
Went today for the first time to try something new and different in Hamburg for breakfast/brunch. The menu is clear and concise with less than a dozen dishes to choose from (each can be adapted at an additional expense). The place is popular and you’ll likely have to queue for a table (at peak times). I was there at 9.15 and had to wait about 10 mins (which was ok). There is limited seating (I’d guess around 20 -24 people) so longer waits may be necessary depending on when you go. As it’s breakfast the turn around is relatively swifter than conventional dining. But the wait was worth it. The dishes are vibrant and freshly made to order. I tried the Turkish Eggs Platter. Excellent flavours and poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The dishes are above average in both quality and price but worth it. The coffee is excellent. Check their menu first for prices. All in this was an excellent place for healthy start to the day and completely different from the usual breakfast places. Great job 👍
Paul ( — Google review
The waitresses were just pretending to be busy — walking back and forth while keeping several people waiting outside, even though there were at least half a dozen empty seats. After 15 minutes, they finally gave us a “shared” table. We then waited another 10 minutes, hoping for the “busy” waitress to notice us or make eye contact so we could finally order. After another 15 minutes, our coffee arrived — overly roasted and clearly overbrewed to hell. It was beyond bitter. 0/5. Then, 10 minutes later, our food came. Simply put: awful. The focus was all on presentation. Everything looked shiny and “fancy,” but the taste? Absolute zero. We ordered French toast and Turkish eggs. Neither of us were even slightly happy with our dishes. The flavors were just weird. It felt like someone tried way too hard to be creative and ended up ruining the entire experience.
Kavian — Google review
The place was so cozy, we sat outside and we're seated straight away. The service was very good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The yoghurt and granola was one of the nicest I've had, the granola I think is home made and the presentation was fantastic.
Jessica M — Google review
I had the most delicious Turkish eggs here, and it was truly unforgettable. The dish came with tahini-labneh, perfectly poached eggs, lemon-hummus, harissa chickpeas, spring onions, sumac, brown butter, sourdough bread, and fresh herbs. The combination of flavors was outstanding – rich, balanced, and full of depth. The portion size was just right: filling but in the best possible way. But the real highlight? The coffee. As an Australian-style café, they know exactly how to do it right. I ordered a flat white and it was one of the best I’ve ever had: smooth, no bitterness, with just the right touch of brightness. Pure perfection in a cup. Marshall Street Coffee is a must-visit in Hamburg if you love great food and exceptional coffee. Highly recommend!

Copenhagen Coffee Lab is a popular and cozy coffee shop located in Hamburg city center. Despite the possibility of a wait for a table, the friendly service and knowledgeable staff make it worth it. The cafe offers a great selection of delicious brews to suit every taste. Its cute interior design makes it perfect for a small break or studying, although space can be limited due to closely placed tables.
The tasty and quality of their coffee is top notch. Their sandwiches are also freshly prepared daily and delicious - I tried their salmon and avocado bagel which I’d highly recommend. The only unfortunate thing is that they don’t serve their full breakfast menu at this branch. However good friendly service overall and great atmosphere for a quick breakfast or something on the go.

Coffee was okay. Nothing exceptional for a specialty coffee but service was so bad. First of all, you cant be picking up clients while using headphones and you cant put a croissant in a broken plate. Attached a picture because i know its hard to believe that you pay for stuff in broken plates

I don't know how is it in the other days, but yesterday afternoon was pretty bad. There were a lot of people and the employees couldn't manage to finish their job fast and the girl made my coffee very bad. They should pay attention and make the coffee with love. I don't blame her, probably is the bosses guilt. Anyway maybe next time would be better.

I heard this café has really good coffee, so I decided to check it out. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was good — smooth and rich in flavor. The place is small and cozy, with a few outdoor seats where you can enjoy your drink. I also noticed a lot of people buying coffee beans, which probably means they’re pretty popular! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

I usually do not drink very much coffee outside anymore as I prefer to brew my own. However, the cappuccino I had at this place was really awesome!

Excellent coffee shop in Hamburg featuring small batch roasted specialty coffee. Hip decor inside with fun music when I was there (though maybe not the best for work calls!). Weather was nice so I saw outside under a tree at their outdoor tables. Flat white was delicious and well prepared. Beans were Guji from Ethiopia and the barista did an excellent job preparing it. He was also very friendly when I asked about the beans. Can highly recommend if you are in the area.
James K — Google review
I’d give it a 4.5 if I could. The pour over was excellent. The flavor was bright and had a nice fruitiness to it. The croissant was good as well, with a soft texture but not overly flaky. The shop itself is also cool with high ceilings but limited seating. And then the barista seemed to not want to do a v60 for some reason, but reluctantly agreed, so not sure what that was about. Good place to do and get a drink if you’re in the area though.

Café Paris is an elegant French-themed café known for its art nouveau design and hearty breakfast options. Located in the heart of Hamburg, it offers a taste of Parisian lifestyle with classic French dishes like Bouillabaisse, Steak Frites, Croques Madame or Monsieur, and Poulet Citron served by friendly staff. The interior exudes the charm of France's Art Deco era.
My partner and I dined at this restaurant before the Christmas season. The location is amazing: it has decoration inspired by the Art Nouveau style, which adds that touch to the dining experience. The food is extremely tasty and the overall experience is satisfying: from the appetisers (carpaccio and escargot) to the main courses and the desserts, all paired with a nice French red wine. I totally recommend this restaurant and I’d love to come back!

Simple things are often the best. I took an espresso and Franzbrötchen in take away and both did not disappoint. The Brötchen, very traditional in Hamburg was probably the best I have ever had, still slightly warm, delicious! There are also plenty of options to sit and relax inside.

We came across this place by chance on Saturday morning and decided to give it a try. It was extremely crowded, and unfortunately, the smell of fried food was very strong — it sticks to your clothes. The omelette was tasty, but the coffee was a bit below average, giving off a strong “machine coffee” vibe (if it wasn’t actually from a machine — if it was, then it’s acceptable). Would we come again? Probably not.

The coffee was good. However, the cashier was unable to differentiate between two types of coffee, despite their completely different pronunciations. The barista said “fxxk” in front of customers when the mistake was pointed out, which was highly unprofessional. The staff clearly need better training in both product knowledge and customer service.

The place looks great, the cappuccino was Ok ish and the Franz tasted as if it was not fully baked. Service was also not the friendliest, did not ask whether to eat in or take. Incredible experience, I believe it's because of great staff. Worm welcome and few nice words and we managed to get table. Girls were incredible and helpful. The food was delicious and that breakfast/brunch was great big portions for 2 people. Everything was very fresh, maybe a little salad and a little more fruit to be perfect. I would put some chilling music in the background just to make the atmosphere better.

The place is very very cute. We ordered the Classic breakfast for 2 and the option for one, and it was surprisingly enough for our party. Tasty croissants, butter, cheese and fruits, also a very good yogurt and delicious pastries. Staff was also pleasant and nice The chocolate pie was divine! I only wished the lemonade wasn’t so sweet, and that the orange juice was fresh instead of from a box.

We went there at around 6:30 on a Monday for a coffee because every single coffeeshop in the area was closed. But we were not disappointed. The carrot cake especially was very good, as well as the cappuccino I had.

Great cosy cafe, not the hipster vibe if that's what you're looking for. Absolutely best breakfast bowl of granola, yoghurt and an orchard full of fruit. Never seen such variety and quantity of delicious fruit in a breakfast bowl anywhere else!

Pleasantly surprised! Gluten free bread available! Ate with a friend with a nut allergy and they checked all packaging which was reassuring! English was not a problem, kid friendly, provided a high chair Service was a little slow. Coffee was delicious! Food a little expensive, but on point for the area

It took too long to get what is called “Breakfast” there. I’m sorry but it looked more like overpriced bread and butter to me. Maybe they have wonderful other dishes but my first experience was spoiled, so probably won’t come again

The food is great but i had to wait 15 minutes to first get someone to take my order and when it arrived it was completly wrong. It was a busy morning tho so accidents happen, Let the girls work!

Fabulous Cafe for breakfast and brunch. Lots of healthy and filling options. Always a nice choice for a vegetarian or meat lover. Soup of the day as seen in pics was a hearty cauliflower soup with garlic croutons. Be sure to save room for dessert. They have a fabulous cake selection to go with your latte.

Excellent coffee and latte macciatto! Really creamy, almost velvety. Opens at 9am (incl. Saturdays) and, if you're there somewhat early you'll get a nice spot. Good breakfast variety with fresh bread options and tasty cheeses too. Highly recommendable.

Located in Hamburg, Germany, elbgold Röstkaffee GmbH is a leading figure in the city's Third Wave Coffee Culture. The café, established in 2004, has multiple outlets and aims to establish strong partnerships with coffee producers to ensure fair prices for quality. Housed in a building with historical significance, the café boasts high ceilings and an abundance of natural light. It offers a variety of high-quality coffee beans for purchase and conducts its own roasting on-site.
I’ve visited this café many times. They roast their own beans, so you can really taste the freshness. I often had a flat white or cappuccino here, and they were really delicious. The interior is small, but since many people sit on the terrace, I was usually able to find a spot inside. I also bought some beans, but they were a bit pricey, which was a bit disappointing.

One of the best coffee roasters in Hamburg. The coffee is always fresh and of very high quality, with great options whether for Flat White, V60, or espresso. The place is spacious and has a nice vibe for specialty coffee lovers. The staff are professional and happy to explain the different beans. Highly recommended!

Wide variety of coffee and mixes, roasted and curated on site.. Coffee is also well served in various ways so that you may get a taste and a whiff before you bring home your beans.. banana bread is also decent.. prices tad bit higher than other roasteries we visited in Hamburg

Kudos to the team—they manage the flow of customers so swiftly, even on a super busy Sunday afternoon, while keeping a smile on their face and being fast&efficient. I was impressed—this level of service is not a given at most of popular places (left alone, coffeeshops). Naturally, Elbgold has quite a name in Hamburg—their blends are phenomenal, and this year I also discovered their sweet and savoury pastry selection. Should I say that everything was on point, and the cardamom bun is the best one I’ve had in a while.
Jana K — Google review
Short and crunchy (as the Alman likes to say): Elbgold just owns the game. The design as well as the baristas and their equipment is sophistically dedicated to the fine art of coffee - and, most importantly: their latte comes with two shots of espresso. Aromatic and characteristic - a proper place for coffee connoisseurs. Cheers. P.S. plus points for their wide variety of vegan food.

Super kind and fast service from the staff. Very detailed and helpful information about each coffee. The coffee was great. The pastry was nice. The simple design of the space is comfortable! They have a nice selection of beans that they roast. They also grind the coffee for you upon request.

Had the pleasure of visiting this place while visiting my family in Hamburg… Not enough words to describe how delicious everything is there! Amazing coffee from my birth country, Costa Rica … the smell and taste was incredible! The costumer service was spectacular too, and the bread used in the sandwiches was tasty. We travel lots, and so far, it’s one of our favorite places around the world that we’ve visited.

Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Eimsbüttel, Café Glück und Selig is a delightful spot that radiates warmth and comfort. This bright and airy venue specializes in breakfast and brunch, offering an array of delicious options from hearty breakfast platters to heavenly Portuguese croissants filled with goat cheese and arugula. The inviting atmosphere features rustic white-washed decor reminiscent of a cozy country cottage, complete with vintage glass display cabinets.
This place just exudes warmth, and not the heat kind. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, beautiful, and quite filling. It is really this lovely calm oasis in the midst of the madness of Hamburg.

Okayish breakfast in cosy location which is more on the pricey side. Items are okay in general but could be more appealing in taste and quantity given its price. Yogurt and Hummus are the highlights. One croissant in a breakfast for 3 isn’t too generous… Staff is friendly. Reservations are required in advance.
Peter B — Google review
It was a nice breakfast. Unlike many other places, the option for two was quite satisfying and filling. The service was a bit slow, Another downside is the location by the road and sidewalk — passing cars, delivery trucks, and cargo handling equipment can be both disturbing and visually unappealing. , but other than that, it was a tasty and enjoyable meal. We’d be happy to visit again if we happen to be in the area.
Nurgul D — Google review
In general, the breakfast is really nice. I would definitely recommend it for a Sunday brunch. A reservation beforehand is def a good idea. The staff is very kind and attentive and they are doing their best to cope with the huge workload during "rush hours". Unfortunately, it is insufficient, so you can count with long waiting times until your order is taken. I received my food 1 hour after the time of my reservation. Moreover, the breakfast for two includes only one croisannt. This is weird, wrong and looks poor. Salt for the eggs and a small bucket for rests might be a good idea. Food and drinks were fresh and tasty. Just some small details need to be smoothened up.

Great place with a romantic atmosphere. The food was delicious, the only downside is that if you don’t have a car, it’s quite a long walk, and they only accept cash. We didn’t know about this and had to walk all the way to the airport just to withdraw money from the ATM.

I like to come here for the great coffee ☕️ and the delicious croissants 🥐 It’s lovely during the good season to seat outside! Unfortunately during winter it get pretty crowded, specially due to people working at their laptop, just with a coffee and staying for hours… If you decide to sit upstairs it’s very uncomfortable as you have the feeling you are annoying/disturbing them ! But that’s just my personal experience … that’s why I can’t give a 5 star ⭐️ Definitely recommend for the coffee and the croissants 😊

Törnqvist is a stylish and iconic coffee bar in Hamburg known for its bright white space, central counter island, and light installation. The cafe is revered for its dedication to third wave coffee, offering some of the best brews in the city. Originally starting from a white VW van, Törnqvist now boasts a hip and minimalist interior design. The staff's passion for coffee is evident in their meticulous approach to brewing.
I love everything about this coffee shop. The design is the first thing that you will notice, It's very simple yet sophisticated. The sandwich was delicious and the presentation was exceptional . The coffee preparation and the barista interaction was great .The owner was super friendly and he showed me their advance filtration system and also told me how he was in a VW bus and now he have this beautiful coffee shop . All the best what a great job done here.
Zeid E — Google review
Such a cool concept, this hip coffee place! The vibe in this place is super comfortable with nice music. Very nice minimalistic style black and white, with the menus written on the walls in a museum like font. The owner seems to be a Japanese origin guy, who is putting so much thought into making his coffee that the procedure looks like art, a pure joy of watching. He even is testing the coffee with some kind of machine on the quality. His kitchen is highly equipped with the latest technical goodies, in the same minimalistic style, amazing! Unfortunately he puts too much thought into making his coffee and it took like 30 minutes before we got ours. (The place was full) We took a coffee with chocolate mousse and fermented plum-sauce. Very nicely presented on a nice plate along with a ‘license plate’ with all the information. Super idea! The coffee didn’t really taste so special, but was tasty. We ordered 2 coffees, 2 teas and a croissant and he forgot about the 2 teas and the croissant, so we wanted to leave. When we notified him, he felt genuinly sorry and he did not charge us for the coffees. Nice gesture from him! To combine, very nice concept and amazing place. Some finetuning, perhaps a bigger place and some more hands and this could be a worldwide chain destroying Starbucks!

Extremely good speciality coffee!

There is a small selection of pastries at the counter, you have to look inside to see them.

The atmosphere is a little sterile and black and white hipster/fashion. . . but I’d definitely come back for the coffee ;-)

It's an absolutely amazing coffee place that i can't explain it with just words. You'll feel like you're in your own home with your family enjoying (some) cup of coffee. Everything's made in here is absolutely perfect. Temperatures, taste, and the extract of its beans is absolutely out from itself that it feels like you're not drinking a cup of coffee. The side dishes are also a top notch where a Cinnamon cake could taste like a banana WITHOUT a banana in it. The staffs are so friendly, i feel like i don't want to go home. Spending more than just a cup of coffee is normal in here and will worth every single penny of it. It's indeed, the place that serves the best coffee in Hamburg (and till now the best coffee I've ever had in my life) 11/10 Would visit again just for the coffee

If you're on the hunt for a delightful coffee experience in Hamburg, look no further than CODOS Coffee. Nestled on Grosse Bergstrasse, CODOS offers an inviting atmosphere with its stylish Scandinavian decor and cozy seating areas perfect for both relaxation and productivity.
Codos Coffee in Altona is a great spot if you’re looking for really good coffee. The quality is consistent, the flavors are smooth, and you can tell they take their craft seriously. Their desserts are also worth a try – not only do they look amazing, but they taste just as good. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it an easy place to spend some time. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in the area.

I visited here in winter, and I think the desserts here are really delicious. The cakes are tasty and very flavorful. The location near IKEA is different from the one in Altona! I had a hazelnut orange cake, and it was really delicious!
Hayoung — Google review
Codos Coffee, although, being more about speciality coffee, lacks in certain areas (especially in comparison to the likes of Elbgold & Stockholm Coffee Roasters) That said, the Codos Coffee close to IKEA in Altona is much better when it's about service, freshness of the cakes & attention to detail, compared to it's main branch. • December 2024 The Tahini Latte was kinda interesting and good. 3/5 ☕ • 3/5 🍰 • 2/5 👂🏻

very nice Place to chill or work, spacious, light, cool Scandinavian style. Great cakes! But coffee, it’s quality, the beans, the way it’s being prepared, Well, I would give it a good average. But far away from top notch, which is a pity. but apparently good enough for hamburg/ Germany ;-)

Starting back in 2014 CODOS now is one of the best coffee places in Hamburg Altona - with already three different places in Hamburg, and one in Berlin as well. Delivering finest Barista arts with their own roasts they also serve cakes and stuff. ALEX Hamburg, located near the Binnenalster, offers a fantastic dining experience with stunning views of the harbor. The restaurant has a modern and relaxed atmosphere, and its menu features a variety of dishes ranging from currywurst to steaks and burgers. With outdoor seating perfect for people-watching, it's an ideal spot for any occasion. The picturesque location by the Alster lake provides a charming backdrop for a relaxing meal.
We recently had the chance to visit a spot in central Hamburg called Alex, located right on Jungfernstieg. The ambiance there is truly exceptional, the kind of place that makes you appreciate how a well-chosen location can transform a simple meal into a memorable experience. What stood out most was the atmosphere: it’s both vibrant and relaxed, with a professional yet easygoing crowd. In a place like Hamburg, right at the heart of the boardwalk, you’d expect a certain premium, but the prices were surprisingly reasonable. It’s not just about affordability; it’s about the value you feel you’re getting for the experience. Now, a quick note on the food: it does lean on the sweeter side, which is worth keeping in mind depending on your taste. But what truly makes Alex special is the combination of its beautiful waterfront setting and the welcoming, professional service. It’s the kind of place you’d want to unwind on a weekend, enjoying a bit of Hamburg’s charm without any rush. In short, Alex is a lovely spot if you’re looking for a pleasant ambiance and a relaxed time by the water. It’s not about extraordinary cuisine, but about the simple joy of a well-located, well-priced, and beautifully atmospheric place to spend your time.

Beautiful setting, especially the terrace with a lovely view of the lake — if you’re lucky, you might even catch a rainbow! The prices are reasonable considering the location and the view. The food quality was nothing special — quite average. The restroom was clean but unfortunately had a strong odor. There is no dedicated parking for cars, so it’s best to come by public transport or use one of the nearby public parking lots.
Mo — Google review
This place is always lively, yet there’s no shortage of seating. The prices are fair, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is wonderful thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows and central location. Dining while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake was truly a highlight.
Hayoung — Google review
ALEX Hamburg boasts an unbeatable lakeside location on the Binnenalster with large windows and a lively terrace — perfect for people-watching or a relaxed drink. The menu is extensive and caters to many tastes, but the food quality is often described as average and the prices reflect the prime spot. Service fluctuates: friendly during quiet times, but over-stretched when busy. Overall: go for the view, not for gourmet excellence.
Dani B — Google review
We went for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed it. The buffet was quite varied and the setting by the lake was absolutely beautiful — a perfect spot to relax and take in the view. We paid €23.90 (July 2025), which is slightly higher on Sundays. The only downside was that coffee and tea weren’t included in the brunch price. They only serve a small glass of orange juice as a drink, which felt a bit limited.
Özgün U — Google review
There was no wait at all in the late afternoon, but was still rather busy. The food was very good and delicious, except the drinks. They were a bit too concentrated. Besides that, it’s a lovely place to dine.

Fish soup, different kinds of fish, popular street foods like currywurst and hamburger and vegan/vegetarian food (sadly only 2 dishes in total). I had the Matjes with potatoes, green beans and bacon. And it was delicious. Great selection of drinks be it non-alcoholic, wine, beer or coffee. Good old reliable Alsterwasser for me. Also a wide variety of aperitifs and digestifs. It may not fit everyone's idea of a traditional beach, but it's a popular spot for locals to enjoy the sun, walk their dogs, and relax with drinks from the beach bars. The restaurant offers breakfast options like coffee, pastries, waffles, and more.
This review is for the entire area around Strandperle including the boardwalk and restaurant/bar scene. I went on a sunny, beautiful Thursday and it was very lively and clearly a big hit with both locals and visitors. It's also close to Ferry 62 which takes you back into Hamburg Landbrucken area so very convenient as well. FABULOUS spot. Highly recommend.

We stopped by in the late afternoon — simply because I was in the mood for a good ol’ fried fish. And what can I say? Mission accomplished. Crispy, flavorful, just right. The remoulade sauce was spot-on, and the potato salad? Solid. Nothing spectacular, but it held its ground. The view is lovely, the atmosphere laid-back, and the prices are what you’d expect in Hamburg — not cheap, but fair. The entire ordering process is digitalized, which is fine in theory. But here’s the catch: you’re prompted for a tip straight away, even though no one’s actually taken your order. The service is pretty hands-off, and for someone who’s worked decades in hospitality, it leaves a slightly strange aftertaste. That said, when a staff member did swing by the table, they were friendly and professional. All in all, tasty food and a nice spot. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Nice place to visit during sunny summer days.. It is easy to take the boat from city center (boat is in every 20-30 minutes during weekend).. After a boat trip around half an hour you are there.. Nice streets in the village takes you to the beach.. Not very convenient for swimming because the rocky ground at the lake.. Nice place for the kids to play in the sand... I took a pizza there.. Was not very deliciois but pizza is pizza :)

I would say this one is pretty Epic! I guess the most recognisable place on the beach in Hamburg! Great location a bit further from a downtown. They offer plenty options of drinks and food! Incredibly beautiful views, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices! It’s definitely a Hidden Gem in the City!

A must go to when in Hamburg, despite of London like prices and not exactly a gourmet temple. But the views, service and atmosphere are great.

Slow service but a beautiful view makes up for it. The staff is very nice though. They charge 50 cents for the toilet, which is a bit odd considering they have a table service.

A great place to chill and do the vesselwatching. Cargo ships, cruise liners, duty boats. Amazing. You can enjoy a cup of coffee, or a beer in a cafe. Some nice snacks too. Could be crowded at the weekends. The only thing to mind: the sand could be quite dirty and, which is dangerous, with pieces of broken glass. So one should take care.

Great coffee, great atmosphere! Was here on a bit of a stressful trip to Northern Germany. We visited several times on the journey to and from. Great coffee, only topped by the atmosphere. I didn't have any of the food, but my friends said it was delicious. Have a look at the pictures of the cakes - no words needed ;-)

Nice coffee place in the heart of St Pauli. Seating is arranged in the main area on tables and in 3 adjacent rooms on sofas with a more private and cosy feeling. Wide selection of pastries and drinks along with a breakfast buffet. Prices are reasonable and food is tasty.

I ordered the chicken fried rice and a bottle of still water, paying roughly €22 for both. The meal tasted great, and the portion was huge. The staff were friendly and accommodating. As a non-local who doesn't speak German, I appreciated that we managed to communicate well. The menu was conveniently available in three languages: German, Mandarin, and English. The location is central, right near the Reeperbahn. The restaurant also has a clean toilet available for customers.

Best coffee in Reeperbahn?! I think so!! Stopped around the corner from this place and every morning a few of us would be waiting at the door at 9am. Shame really as that is the only thing that lets it down, opening times are to late in the morning.

The cafe provides a delightful view of the bustling Schanzenviertel through its large windows.
This place does not look like much from the outside. You might walk by without noticing it... well, maybe not considering the people standing in front of it waiting for a table 😂🙈 This place was recommended to us by a coworker living in Hamburg who said, "they have hands down the best cakes." Well, since this girls loves sweets, we walked 45 minutes from our hotel and were not disappointed 😅 The design is quirky and interior is comfortable, their cakes are clearly homemade and absolutely delicious. We had a carrot cake and tartufo cake and enjoyed both. Although I might add that the carrot cake was slightly besser - most and full of flavor. The staff is super friendly. They have a delicious menu with vegan options and their love for detail is quite noticeable. They decorate the carrot cake with carrot slices made to look like flower petals. While sitting we saw many people going in and out with sweet treats in their hands. During summertime they even have ice cream for sale. All in all a nice place to take a break during sightseeing and enjoy some delicious treats. Highly recommend!
Mara L — Google review
I have ordered a customised cake with fitness theme with lime cheese cake flavour. I loved the look of the cake. I also liked the flavour and how the sweetness is balanced well with marzipan(outer layer). The only drawback i felt was the cake was a bit hard and felt like it was baked couple of days back. Rest everything was good.

Amazing place! One of my favourite bakery in Hamburg now in Eppendorf! ❤️ great dessert, good coffee and cozy venue. There is always something new and seasonal. Staff is very welcoming and professional.

Looks cute from the outside. Lot's of options regarding warm drinks, and they have a few cakes as well. The cakes are delicious, the drinks are good as well. Have to say that I got the biggest 'large' drink ever, which was a pleasant surprise for the money. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff was chill and attentive. All in all a great place to take a break.

It's a nice cafe with good coffee and decent cake. Cake was a little bit too dry though. The lavender tea was good too. In my opinion it's a little bit too expensive too. When we were there it was also very crowded.

They have nice cakes and coffees. However, we walked for almost 30 minutes to arrive there, and it wasn't worth it. So, take a bus or tram to enjoy your cake.

This is the best cake shop I have ever been. Staff is friendly, cheerful, decorations are amazing to fit their particular "Tim Burton's grandma cake shop" style, but it would be all for nothing without the amazing pastries and cakes. On that front, they deliver an amazing experience for your sweet tooth. The blueberry semi naked cake is fluffy, tasty, moist and creamy without overdoing it, probably one of the best cakes I ever had, and presentation is amazing. I can't recommend this place enough.

The menu offers a variety of morning dishes like eggs and granola, as well as light lunches such as focaccia and salads. The cake buffet is filled with tempting sweet treats like croissants, cookies, and cakes. Visitors praise the relaxing atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious cakes and warm drinks.
We went here for some late breakfast and it did not disappoint! The omelette dish was really good, the scrambled eggs were perfectly seasoned. The cheese and sauce on top of it makes it complete! Also their homemade fruit salad is very yummy. Their drinks are good too. The price quality is excellent as we paid less than 30 euro for two meals and drinks. It’s also located in a very hip location :)

We went to Gretchen’s Villa for a cozy brunch with my husband and a few friends, and it turned out to be such a delightful choice. I had the Früchte waffle, which was fresh and full of flavor. We also tried the Tomate-Mozzarella Panini and Gretchen’s Strammer Start — one with chicken and one without — and both versions were equally delicious. Our drinks — iced latte macchiato, chai latte, and cappuccino — were spot on and paired perfectly with the food. The vibe was warm and relaxed, making it a great place to unwind and catch up. Would definitely go back!
Mansi G — Google review
perhaps I was a bit too late, but the choice of the cakes was pretty poor. my cappuccino was okay, very milky in my taste. desserts could be a little cheaper. the girls, who are working there, has nothing on their clothes to definitely say yes, it is a personnel. so it was a bit strange to be involved in conversation by some random person until I understood she works here. so there is a place to grow, but this is a relatively good cafe.

I love coming here every time I’m in Hamburg. The Eggs with tomato, onion, and bacon on sourdough bread was very good. And a large portion that easily could be shared. Also very tasty are the waffles, which I opted for the classic Nutella and banana. The chai latte w/ oat milk also was very good (was warm even though served in a tall glass). Fair prices.

It was a recommendation from my Air B’n’B host and did not disappoint. I have been 4 here 4 times during my stay. The homemade ice teas are refreshing and delightful. I had the “Gretchens strammer Start” in variations with Avocado or ham. Always very tasty. The service was very friendly and I loved the relaxed environment! They do have a cake selection which makes it hard to pick but the Team here is happy to share their recommendations. I felt very welcome and was always greeted with a smile! Thank you! ♥️

Café Koppel is a charming vegetarian and vegan eatery nestled in a split-level space with a lovely garden terrace. For 35 years, this cozy spot has been serving up meatless dishes with a focus on sustainability. Located near Hamburg's main train station, it offers a diverse selection of sweet and savory treats, including daily specials and freshly brewed coffee.
My friend and me went for an exhibition and came across this lovely cafe. The menu was more than basic but thankfully not too many odd options, my cereal coffee was mild and without bitterness, me myself am extremely sensitive to caffeine but it just saved me from disturbing my bio clock. The atmosphere is so nice, cozy as home and with white windows. There’s no music but people chatting gently, ideally a comfortable place for old friends.

€6,90 ???!!!! Someone is laughing their pants off running this shop. Not one green leaf on the ‘Beilagesalad’/salad. Nice location, beautiful garden and great to have vegan food options, but don’t milk the vegan cows that are your customers too deeply in their pockets if you want them to return…

Cute little cafe tucked away off the Lange Reihe. Tons of vegetarian and vegan options. I only ever had drinks, but they’re delicious. You can order them in a bowl size, something I’ve noticed seems to be a thing at multiple places on the Lange Reihe. Overall, it’s a very relaxed place that gives you a little reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the area.

Lovely coffee shop where I had breakfast and coffee a couple times. The service is nice and food is fresh and tasty. The issue is that the shopping center it is found in is rather bland and quiet. This coffee shop feels like it’s alone here. I like the upper floor looking down, and I respect the fact that service does not decline on the upper floor. For some reason, I saw fit to take pictures of the multiple angles of my coffee alone...Not sure what they put into the stuff...

Karlsons Skandinavische Köstlichkeiten in Hamburg Neustadt is a hidden gem for a delightful Sunday brunch. Okay breakfast. Service and atmosphere good, but the food is rather boring. Nothing special. Neither the egg variations, nor the different plates with cheese etc. Also portions are pretty small, so you need 2-3 to be full. Blueberry Pancake quite tasty though.

Great place for Kaffee und Kuchen. You’ll need to reserve a table at busy times. My companions had apple and plum crumble with vanilla custard and a hazelnut cherry torte and I had a lotus cheesecake which was insanely good, with an excellent cappuccino which, unusually for most establishments, was actually warm. A friendly and competent waitress, a mixture of customers, old and young, and a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere made for a pleasant teatime experience. Definitely going back.

Very friendly people and nice vibe, the staffs are warm-hearted and trying to help. You can also order from their weekly menu (based on availability). Unfortunately my quiche is burned and I have to throw away a lot. I asked the waitress but being told this is normal… however I don’t like to eat burned food.

Worth a visit: this is a great place for Sunday brunch on the middle of Hamburg! Off the beaten track, so it's not overrun with tourists but close enough to the city center (10 minutes' walk from the Rathaus) to be easy to reach. Super friendly service in a relaxed, comfortable café. The breakfasts are delicious and the cinnamon roll was fantastic. Unfortunately we had no room for cake afterwards - that looked really good, too.

Excellent traditional bakery and restaurant - we always get seated promptly and get excellent service. But the place is relaxed, as a good cafe should be, not "order in 5 minutes, food in 15 minutes and we need your table in 45 minutes". We go back often when we're visiting Hamburg - it's one of our favorite spots for "cafe und Kuchen". Thank you to the owners and staff for keeping the classes traditions alive!

I must say Lindtner it’s a nice place to get cakes. But would definitely not recommend on the week ends for a coffee or food it is always crowded and beside this the service is so bad with such a bad attitude from some of the servers to welcome you. A nice cafe with delicious cakes and coffee. We arrived on Saturday at about 16.30. The choice of was very limited: sold out. So I advise to arrive earlier. Simple toilets.

I visited this well-known café in town with high expectations, but my experience was far from pleasant. Despite its reputation, service was extremely slow—20 minutes passed without anyone taking our order. When we finally approached a waitress, she curtly mentioned that our table wasn’t in her area, which was quite irritating. With no proactive service or follow-up in sight, we eventually left after waiting in vain. Overall, it was a disappointing afternoon that did not match the café's famed status.

We sought refuge from a rainy weekday morning at Cafe Kostbar, and was delighted by their delicious Crêpes. We've ordered a cheesecake to share as well; the cheesecake is rich and tasty, however the base is too thick for my liking. There's ample seating available at our time of visit and the atmosphere at the cafe is nice.

Due Baristi Espressobar is a popular café in Germany, particularly known for its exceptional coffee. The café is run by Eckhart Meyer and Sener Sonmez, who are skilled professionals in the art of coffee making. The cozy atmosphere with an Italian touch makes it a delightful place to enjoy breakfast options, paninis, salads, and homemade desserts. Customers can also indulge in brunch or evening drinks like aperol spritz or moscow mule.
This morning we decided to go on a breakfast date to Due Baristi Espressobar. The place is lovely and the decor has a cozy flair. If you are on the go they have a little side window for all your needs. The chai latte and cappuccino were very good. The Laugen Focaccia very tasty and had just the right amount of filling. The chocolate cherry cake was tasty, but should have been warmed to enhance the flavours and add the illusion that it was freshly baked. Overall a wonder place for a breakfast date! Well, the place itself was really good. Staff was also really kind and quick when serving. However, cannot say the same about the content of food and especially coffee. Our expectations from an “espresso bar” were so much higher, but it was only bitter in taste. And in the menu, you cannot see the contents of breakfast, which is a big minus in our view.

Espresso House, located in the heart of Hamburg's city center on Jungfernstieg, offers a cozy living room atmosphere where you can indulge in a wide selection of high-quality hot and cold drinks, Swedish pastry specialties, and sandwiches. The cafe is known for its friendly staff and comfortable seating options, including spots with power sockets on the 1st floor that make it suitable for work. While some find the prices slightly high, they are considered reasonable for Hamburg.
Great ambience and delicious snacks. Perfect place to have your breakfast or evening snacks. Currently Entry and Exit are same making it slightly chaotic otherwise great.

This Espresso House definitely fills up fast, and the queue for coffee can be long most of the time. That said, I’d still go again because it’s super convenient, right in the heart of the city. The ground floor can get noisy, but the upstairs seating is much quieter and actually a good spot to get some work done.

On a Sunday morning it was really a great discovery to come here for a brunch ; this place is really cosy and has agood atmosphere. The staff is welcoming and smiling, and the food is really amazing (the vegan feta mamma mia 😮‍💨) 100% plant based and tasteful dishes. Prices are really reasonable regarding the quality ! Would recommend AND come back for sure !

We wanted a proper specialty coffee place for breakfast and after a quick search I found Good One Café. It was a bit out of the way but worth the way! The service staff is suuper nice and the order came very fast! We got 2 coffees and a açai bowl to share (the portion is so big that sharing was a good idea!). Inside there is a big space with tables and they also sell some special beans coming from around Europe (if I remember correctly). There are some pastries/cakes on the counter too! The coffee was delicious and the food as well! Super happy to have chosen this place!

The cafe itself is very nice, and is designed in a minimalistic style. The lady who served us was also very friendly. However, I can’t give a good review for the food. I ordered an iced latte, but as you can see, it was not really presentable. The taste was also very disappointing, it was one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had in a café, tasting like watery coffee one gets on driveways. The carrot cake was also really bad: not spongy but dense, overly sweet, and tasting very different from any carrot cake I’ve had before. Maybe it was some kind of fusion, but they didn’t mention it. The texture wasn’t nice either. My friend ordered a matcha cake and she wasn’t happy with it at all, we both left our cakes half-eaten

Rocked up here yesterday (on a Sunday) and it was absolutely packed. There was no chance of getting a table without a booking. We grabbed something for takeaway instead and honestly. The coffee was so good we came straight back today to have some brekkie. During the week you can just stroll in without a reservation, no stress at all. Btw, We have had our little Chili 🐕 with us, he loves chilled music and a good vibe and he did enjoy the good one. Hot tip: the sweets are next-level amazing. Seriously, do yourself a favour and grab some 🤤

Blanco Coffee is a small and cozy café located in Hamburg, offering some of the best coffee in the city. The staff is known for being extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their coffee offerings. In addition to great coffee, they also serve delicious cakes and bakery products. The café has a homey atmosphere with cute cactus decorations, making it a perfect spot to enjoy your coffee.
Great cappuccino! The coffee beans smells and tastes good, I really love it. Recommended cafe to enjoy the best coffee with super homey atmosphere surrounded by cute cactus 🌵 The location is also easy to reach in the city center. I would love to get some gluten free cakes or bread here soon!

I had the Matcha Latte, and it was easily amongst the best I've had. It's small but perfect. So friendly, a polar opposite to my experience at Homely. Go here for your coffee. Nina was so friendly, took so much care, and made the drink and was so welcoming. It's hard to find great staff, but she is a fine example of great service. If I lived in Central Hamburg, this would be my GO TO SPOT. I would post a picture but I sipped it and then it was gone before I even thought of taking one. And that to me is what great things do. So I have posted a pic of my empty glass 🤣 The chocolate croissant was also exceptional. And I could hear other guests very pleased for their cheesecake.

I visited blanco to get some ground coffee. I declined choosing the one from Guatemala which was an excellent choise, they even ground the coffee specifically for my french press, very customized service. However, I also had a hot chocolate to take away that was, unfortunately, not texturized, I think it was just warm milk with a regular cacao powder. Not bad at all but a bit disappointing. After all, it was a good experience and the ground coffee is also great. I might come back to get a cappuccino and taste the speciality next time.

Small, quaint, and very good coffee. In our quest to find Hamburg‘s best coffee, blanco coffee is among the top five (and we have tried more than forty coffee places now). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, will explain any and all details about the coffee, and answer any questions. blanco coffee also serves cakes and bakery products, which look delicious, but we didn’t try. In the back of the café there is a small seating area with five seats. There are a couple more seats in front of the cash register, and some on the outside. We loved the experience and the coffees and we will absolutely come back.

Probably best coffee spot in Hamburg. I really love it here so I must came back during my trip more than once! I had flat white and it was one of the best I ever had. Whats more each day there was really polite barista, especially the first day when we met there barista from our country 🇨🇿! And about the place: it’s really small here but there are some tables inside and even outside👌🏻

While I usually try to avoid coffee shop chains actually this wasn't too bad. The cappuccino with oat milk was surprisingly good and I found the atmosphere to be quite relaxed and not too generic. I stll prefer independent coffeeshop vibes, but would visit again given the high quality coffee.

1. Tasty coffee and really nice milk, 2. Good selection of cakes 3. Possible to pay by Uk card 🙌 4. Nice service Outdoors seating is available but… those are benches without tables. There was a huge queue and since there is only one barista and cashier as a one person, the queue was slow…

One of my favourites in Ottensen/ Altona area with such a beautiful lighting! It's got a decent size, located in the center and has amazing flat whites. They also serve Oatly barista which is my favourite brand for plant-based milk as it blends perfectly with coffee. The place can get a little noisy as all the coffee places but has an extremely cute little table in a corner of the cafe which is a little hidden.

The coffe is incredible good! They have vegan milk alternatives, including outly milk barista so the best combination! Also I decided to try the peanut granola bar (vegan/glutenfree) and it was delicious!! I really recommend this place for a coffe and some snack. You would not find a full meal. So if you’re looking for a full breakfast maybe this is not your place but totally worthy to Stop and get you a coffee on this spot! Also the place is really nice for meetings either work or with friends. Free WiFi.

The best iced chai latte I’ve had in Germany! Perfectly spiced and strong in flavour. Also, they have plant-based milk. The coffee selection is also excellent with a variety of beans to pick from. This travel themed Cafe, in Winterhude, makes delicious Coffee, has friendly staff and there seems to be a lot of love and care taken in the Detail. It has spacious and smaller tables outside and is on a calm sidestreet, making it a great spot to work. I could focus well on my book translation there, thanks to a great atmosphere (the big tables outside were also very clean). There are two cosy rooms inside Bean There, a room in the back which is probably for private parties or when it gets full. There are some postcards from around the world, which probably have been visited by the owner, you can dream about your next big adventure or recognize the places you've been to. I had a flowery lemon and blueberry cupcake, which looked and tasted great. Someone smudged a love note on the building outside... A small suggested for improvement would be to also offer savory goods, like avocado sourdough breads and sandwitches (also sugar free alternatives for the sweet stuff).

(Translated by Google) The supplier of the baguette bread must have changed. Unpacked at home five minutes after purchase. What a mess, so mushy and tough and a terrible taste. Every baguette from the cheapest bakery is better. They had already sold the same garbage for a few weeks about a year ago. Then we had the original variety again, crispy and delicious. Let's wait and see how long it will be available to buy this time. (Original) Beim Baguettebrot hat wohl der Lieferant gewechselt. Fünf Minuten nach dem Kauf zuhause ausgepackt. Estancia Steaks is a family-owned restaurant located in the city center of Hamburg, offering individually plated premium beef cuts served with a variety of delicious sides. The charming restaurant, situated in the historic Afrika Haus, provides a modern dining space with high ceilings and a patio for outdoor seating during the summer. The steaks are sourced from selected suppliers in the USA, Australia, Uruguay, and Ireland and are aged at sea before being cut to order.
This steakhouse truly shines when it comes to its delicious meat dishes – every cut is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. In addition, the kind and knowledgeable staff ensures an excellent service. However, be prepared for a lively atmosphere; the restaurant can be quite noisy with a vibrant mix of conversations layered over the background music.

Their service mentality, food, ambience, they obviously deserve to hear nothing but only good things. We tried 21 days dry aged Irisches Weiderind and Rumpsteak, chief prepared my steak just as I demanded; medium rare. It was perfect cooked! Irisches was with a bit more fat percentage a bit more delicious by the way. Grilled Green pepper were delicious as well and were a perfect companion to steak. French fries were crunchy enough. We drank Pinot Noir and Malbec as per Claudia's recommendation, Malbec was spicy and strong enough which perfectly fits to my taste. All the waiters and waitresses can speak perfect English btw. Ambience was crowded but not too loud, it was such a cozy and clean Restaurant. Definitely we will be back, Thank you and conguratulations for great job!

Negative experience. Confusion over having a drink before dinner seating, caused the staff to stress. They encouraged us to try their fresh chimichurri, which was brown, stale and simply not chimichurri. Maybe their version of it, and it wasn’t fresh or tasty. Piemento Padron were over cooked and lost their color. The bottle of wine we ordered arrived at the table after our food, and was already opened. We tried it. It was completely off. Clearly it had been sitting out, opened and exposed to heat. They brought another that I had to ask to be opened at the table - as it should be. This is basic stuff. The final slap was the rat trap we noticed less than half a meter from our table. Steak was great, but presentation completely absent. Not worth it. Pretty awful dining experience.

Had the pleasure of visiting estancia steaks during a hot summer day. They have a nice seating area outside, which fits a decent amount of people. The tartare looked a bit oxidized visually, but was very tasty. The beef was ordered rare but was probably closer to a medium rare. The sear is great and gives it that umami flavor. Overall a very good spot and I understand the popularity of the place.

An Unforgettable Birthday Dinner at Estancia Steaks! I celebrated my birthday at Estancia Steaks in Hamburg, and it was an experience to remember! They surprised me by singing a birthday song and presenting a small piece of cake adorned with a candle—a heartfelt gesture that added a personal touch to the evening. The steaks were nothing short of exceptional. Cooked to perfection, each bite was tender and flavorful. The variety of cuts available caters to every steak lover's preference. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. The staff's attentiveness and friendliness stood out, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was enjoyable. Super highly recommended! You will not regret it! 😊
Ariane J — Google review
I wish I could say our experience at this steak house was memorable, but unfortunately it fell short in several ways. While the meat itself was good, it wasn’t anything special or distinctive. What was distinctive, however, was the overwhelming number of people and the constant noise. We visited on a Wednesday at 7:00 PM and the place felt chaotic, hardly the atmosphere you’d expect for a relaxing dinner. We were given a reservation for only 90 minutes, which at first felt inconvenient, but in hindsight was a relief, because sitting any longer in that level of noise would have been unbearable. The staff were friendly, but their English was limited, and combined with the loud environment, it made communication frustrating and awkward. In total we spent 300 euros for dinner with wine for two people, and considering the overall experience, we cannot recommend this place to anyone.

The oysters are super fresh and delicious. For starter we order shrimp and it was good too, the sauce is very creamy and rich. For main dishes we had mix grilled and summer deluxe. It’s a bit disappointing because the fish have no special taste but salty. Crème Bublé was good but small portion. The service was 100% good

I definitely recommend this restaurant! It was a nice surprise in Hamburg. The bread and the dip were quite good! Then I ate the fish and it was amazing! However the pasta disappointed a bit. We order the course dinner but the 3tier presentation for the respective course was nice but not practicable as the food gets cold while we take time to finish. Would prefer the conventional way of serving. Appertiser; tuna tartare was good . Oyster was not clean well as it was still sandy. For the main, tuna and salmon was a bit dry. Dessert :Tiramisu was good .

So glad I returned to this very friendly and charming neighbourhood restaurant after 10 years, only wish it had not been so long. Very attentive and jovial service and a fabulous variety of fresh fish but deciding what to have was a difficult choice! Prawns, Bouillabaisse, oysters, halibut, sea bass, tuna, salmon, sea bream, pike-perch! Very glad I opted for the prawns, they were sublime, some of the best I have experienced. Followed by a mountain of aromatic mussels all washed down with copious quantities of wine - the list much improved from my previous visit. Altogether excellent value for money and definitely worth the 20 minute bus ride from the centre(Bus 6 or 17 from around the Hauptbahnhof). Highly recommended if you enjoy fish sympathetically prepared.

N. H — Google review
(Last visited 12/1/2023.) It speaks volumes of a certain restaurant when I've been to this part of the world 2 times and have eaten here 3 times. Liman truly blew us away with our first experience so we came back again and again. Here's why... Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is set in Hamburg, but a little further away from the hustle & bustle of downtown in more of a residential section, but still busier than a suburb. Reservations are recommended, but whenever we came here it never seemed busy. The inside is very modern, chic, contemporary, upscale and laid back. It was quiet and just made for a great place I would love to hang out in. Service: Apart from the food, Alice, our server was another reason we kept on coming back. She was truly amazing. She was sweet, funny, personable, made great recommendations and just had an addictive personality. Food: We've tried everything from the filet mignon, to the salmon, to the mixed grill, a series of desserts, pulpo, scallops, you name it. They never missed. This place specialized in seafood, hence its name and it nailed every single dish. My wife literally dreamt about the salmon with the pea foam or whatever it was after the first time she had it. Then the dessert! I could go on and on, but I won't since I only have so many characters to use. The food is exquisite... that's why we kept on coming back. Value: It's a seafood restaurant. Enough said. It's going to be expensive, but not suit & tie-dinner jacket required type of expensive. Bring your wallet regardless because you're going to want everything on the menu. Lol. You can guess my conclusion. Although, our friend Alice no longer works there, the food will still keep us coming back over and over to try more things on the menu every time we're in Hamburg. Make your way here if you're in the area!

Lovely atmosphere and very good quality of cusine. We came here spontaneously for late Luch and didn't regret it. Owner is very friendly person.I had for my luch Grilled Dorade with Ratatouille and Truffle potatoes. Ratatouille is the best one wich I had in Germany this year. I think the secret is roasted bell papper and tomato for sauce. Taste of vegetable is so intense. So my fish was GRILLED perfectly and not loaded with salt. Very often in Germany quantity of salt to high and this is a big problem. Here everything was top. You dint need be warrid about quality. Top.Pasta with lobster was choosen by my husband. He say sause/ jus was very creamy and delicious. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente .Portions ideal for French people. Due very hot day we skipped desserts Facit :we definitely will come again.

This is a prime example of fake " fine dining" without any real skill or technique. Flashy Churchill plates and stuffy ambiance made to disguise sub par ingredients and inadequately prepared food. We started off with the prawns. The sauce was very nice..creamy, slightly spicy and seasoned just right, the prawns were standard frozen Argentinian red prawns that most restaurants use (the logic of buying frozen shrimp while being less than 100km from the north sea is beyond me) . Definitely not overcooked but a bit chewy as a consequence of the freezing. A promising start nonetheless. We ordered 2 mixed grill fish plates which lacked imagination and were utterly bland and boring, zero salt..zero pepper. The skin was soggy which isn't really acceptable for a restaurant specialized in fish cookery? Mashed potatoes were lumpy and dense and the mangold (chard) completely unseasoned. What a shame

Food was good but service was lacking. Arrived to snooty looks from staff when answering that I hadn’t booked after being asked. Then waited about 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken. Food and drink arrived fairly quickly which was good quality, especially the bread. However, I felt that we were neglected by staff and waited about 20 minutes after finishing to have our plates taken away and the had to flag another staff member for the bill.

Amazing Old Trading House in Hamburg, converted into a fine restaurant with impressive fresh and tasty food. Lunch and dinner rooms are quite separated so it gives good intimacy and very relaxed atmosphere. I got the recommendation to go and taste the white spring asparagus, and it was utterly unexpected the great taste and texture of those asparagus combined with ham and boiled potatoes. Everything cooked at the perfect point. Highly recommended. Make sure to call for reservation. Enjoy.

Located in a historic warehouse in one of Hamburg's iconic districts, this small private coffee company has been in business since 1994. The owners are local coffee traders with a focus on quality and customer service. The cafe is popular for breakfast, lunch and light meals, and the atmosphere is charming and classic. The coffee was excellent - smooth with a unique flavor - and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall an excellent experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Hamburg!
Coffee was fantastic! Reached there at 11am on a Saturday and was met with a queue; but was seated in no time (10-15mins wait) What’s extraordinary here is the service; everyone genuine made me feel welcome. Shoutout to the male server in the cap, he was so helpful in his recommendations, and constantly check up on me throughout. It was a memorable dining experience thanks to him!

After visiting Elbphillaemonie, we chose this place for a bit of a rest. The place is average-sized, and even though it was a weekend, we got a table without waiting. The market inside made it interesting with its coffee grinders. The view of the canal and brick buildings was also pleasant. We got some cake and cappuccino. They were delicious and not too sweet. The prices were average, and the service was friendly. It's worth stopping by for a coffee.

Such a cool experience, makes the cafe visit all the more fun!! The coffee was incredible, the atmosphere sooo cozy, and the pastries so yummy! And the service was pretty good given how crowded it was!
Mida K — Google review
I have been enjoying coffee all over the world. I know the difference between Yirgachaffe from Ethiopia and coffee from Sumatra or South/Central America. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the quality, or lack thereof, of the coffee presented at the Speicherstadt Coffee Roastery. The offering was poor, coffee from Honduras and Sumatra. A coffee from the Fincas of Honduras is generally of poorer quality than African or Brazil. My favorites, such as Java and Yirgachaffe, with flavors of chocolate and berry, a full body, best for medium roast, and a balanced acidity, just elegant, powerful, and smooth, was not part of the offering. While the Berliner Kaffeerösterei offers dozens of coffee varieties from all over the world, this Speicherstadt Roastery had only two varieties. The atmosphere was industrial and that of a dining hall, and to top it all, the milk offered was skim milk, leaving the coffee gray and bland. Even if the owner does not like coffee cream, he/she should not enforce his personal preference on his/her customers. Very disappointing. I still give it a 3-star for offering the presence of a "coffee temple" in the area. It looks like the owner of this coffee place does not realize how important the fat in the cream is: Here's a more detailed breakdown: Mellows bitterness and acidity: The fat in cream helps to counteract the bitterness and acidity often found in coffee, resulting in a more balanced and palatable taste notes Volcanica Coffee. Enhances flavor: Cream can bring out the natural flavors of the coffee beans, making the coffee taste richer and more complex, according to Death Wish Coffee. Adds a creamy texture: The higher fat content in cream creates a thicker, more velvety texture in the coffee, which many find more satisfying notes Greenwell Farms. Subtle sweetness: Cream contains natural milk sugars that can add a subtle sweetness to the coffee, reducing the need for additional sweeteners says Quora. Lingering flavor: Fats in cream can help to isolate and linger on the palate, creating a more enjoyable and satisfying aftertaste, says Greenwell Farms. In summary, it does not matter how happy the grass-fed local cows were if the milk has only 4% fat. The result of regular milk is - gray color of the milked coffee (as opposed to golden of the creamed coffee) - simply watered-down coffee with the same lack of full flavor. - a lingering bitter after taste If the owner cares about his customers and coffee aficionados, he should look into the value of their feedbacks. If the owner strives to satisfy the most sophisticated coffee purists, he should not just justify his "viewpoint" how coffee should be enjoyed. Humans have four kinds of taste buds on their tongues. Coffee has a rich spectrum of fat-soluble flavors. Fat of cream is a lubricant that leads to a more intimate contact of those flavors with the taste buds. Milk is cheaper than cream. I get it. But this should not be a reason to attempt "selling" milk as "the proper way" to enjoy a coffee. Discover the world of coffee by trying the various ways to consume and enjoy it. Give this variety to your customers. Thank you!

High-quality selection of four different coffee beans, proper portion size, not the most vegan-friendly menu tho and everything but a serene setting for a coffee indulgence unfortunately

The cafe welcomes you with the sweet smell of coffee. The atmosphere is perfect. Ice chocolocate was wonderful, cappuccino and flat white were good, brownie was average but not bad. You can shop for coffee and coffee supplies.

So to begin with, we had to wait to be seated, we were stood there 10 minutes and not a single staff member acknowledged us. At least five members of staff walked past us multiple times and we didn't even receive a "hello" . There were clearly tables free as well... When we were finally seated, we made our orders. We received our food approximately two minutes after asking. I ordered the Quiche loraine, it had clearly been microwaved. The filling was scalding hot and the pastry was soggy. The filling was far too salty and the leek had not been cooked long enough so it was chewy and woody. The dressing for the salad was far too salty as well. I ordered an Ice chocolate and the ice cream had lumps of Ice. My partner ordered the blueberry tart, it was quite nice with a crisp pastry and sweet and creamy custard and fresh blueberries. She ordered a hot chocolate and it was very sweet and did not taste of chocolate so it appeared to be of low quality. The final insult came when I was mid bite, halfway into my quiche when the waiter approached us and asked us to pay for our order as they were wanting to close up soon. Overall it was very expensive for an extremely sub par experience... We had the feeling that this was just an expensive tourist trap and I would not recommend to anyone.

He threw the plate down, shattered it, and even the guests at the next table looked at him in surprise. Was the server's personal feelings at fault? I was so offended, I can't even remember the taste of the coffee, Mr. Said.

Liebes Bisschen is a charming cafe that has been serving American-style cupcakes in Hamburg for over a decade. Originally located in Sternschanze, it has now found a new home in Ottensen since April 2016. The cake designer Laura Seebacher takes great pride in offering a delightful selection of artfully decorated cakes and biscuits made with the finest ingredients. The cozy cafe exudes a welcoming atmosphere, making visitors feel right at home.
The breakfast dishes are amazing, although it’s sad that they have taken the rustic bread with vegan pesto and cream cheese, carrots and beets off the menu. The cake options are good but I prefer the breakfast. Finally, I think it would be amazing if they would have matcha in their menu.
Isabelle — Google review
Cute cafe with loads of vegan options. They also have delicious cakes and tarts which are also available for pre order. You have to order yourself at the bar and in the weekend it’s very busy. They work with breakfast shifts then so the line gets very long since the people leaving wanna pay at the same time as the new people arrive. This could be done much better so the line doesn’t get that long.

Great place to have Pastries. One of the best pastries are served here. Beautiful and pleasant environment. Great staff. Must visit if your in Hamburg. We celebrate every birthday of all my family members here.

Super happy to have discovered this place! Walking distance from altona train station. I mean just look at these cakes! And they taste absolutely delicious. You can tell how much love they put into them! The coffee was delicious too! next time i’m coming back for brekky.

Besides the pretty cakes also a great place to eat breakfast! We went here two days in a row and both days I ordered the avocado-vegetable breakfast. Delicious!

How to ruine kids b-day. We came to this cafe and ordered cupcakes to take away. They give us a box and we went home. At home we opened the box and realized that one of cupcakes is with another flavor. I came back, but they didn't want to replace the cupcake or to give us some other options (also girl told us that it's with peanuts, and my kids have peanuts allergy), but she sayd just "sorry". She doesn't see any problem in our case. Just " Sorry" And that's all. Nobody wanna eat this peanut cupcake . We don't like peanuts at all. Kids been fighting for 1 cupcake with strawberry, because all other cafes with cupcakes been closed. Thanks a lot, "Liebes Bisschen"!

The bakery Der Kiezbäcker in Hamburg is a great place to have a quick coffee and snack, as well as to enjoy some delicious pastries and cakes. The location on the Reeperbahn makes it an ideal spot for tourists and locals alike, and the prices are reasonable.
Der Kiezbäcker is a gem in Reeperbahn! Their franzbrötchen is absolutely amazing—flaky, buttery, and perfectly spiced with cinnamon. They also offer a fantastic selection of baguettes with delicious toppings like pepper salami, salmon, and egg, making it a great spot for a quick and satisfying snack. The quality of the food is top-notch, and everything tastes fresh and flavorful. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Best breakfast ! My kids are very picky like most kids but to this day my daughter asks me when are we going back to Tyskland so she can have breakfast from this bakery. During our stay in Hamburg for 5 days , we had breakfast from it every day. On our way back I bought their strawberry layer cake which I love. I get teary eyed thinking about their breakfast and the vibe and love we felt as a family when we sat down and ate it. 🥹 The staff is super sweet and I was hosted by an uncle , I guess he’s the owner , he is so sweet god bless him. My daughter asks me if I can make her sandwiches like them 🥹 I so wanna go back to Hamburg with my family and live near this bakery so we can have breakfast every morning from here. We would see from our window the long queue outside from Morning till it closed. It’s really a great gem for breakfast

(Translated by Google) A very interesting little museum, built with great attention to detail, that transports you back to the old Hamburg harbor in the 1950s. Unfortunately, it's located at the back of the building that houses the "big" attractions like the Dungeon, the Coffee Roastery, and the Miniatur Wunderland. But compared to the overcrowded Coffee Roastery, the Coffee Roastery is a real treat.

(Translated by Google) A little harder to find, but super nice reception and service. Right at the beginning it was announced that "they only have a simple offer of coffee" but that was still exceeded. It was very, very quiet and we were able to enjoy it. The exhibits provided the right flair. If the hustle and bustle in the cafeteria area is too loud for you, you should go here and see if there is a lot going on. Unless there happens to be a larger group there (it's a museum cafe after all) it's an oasis of calm while exploring the city. For us the visit was definitely worth it. Thanks. Danke.

And the opportunity to learn a thing or two about coffee roasting and to settle in with a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a piece of cake from a very extensive selection was one of my highlights in Hamburg. Roncalli is a perfect place to relax and enjoy coffee or cocktails. With its beautiful setting and friendly staff, it's a great spot for meetings or just a quiet afternoon away from the city hustle and bustle. The menu offers an amazing variety of coffee drinks, macarons, cakes and pastries - all of which are delicious!
Always love visiting this cafe. It’s a bit pricey, but I overall always enjoy the experience eating or having coffee here. There are a lot of tables available on the second floor. I love the opportunity to sit outside on the warmer months. The cake is also delicious and I find it not overly sweet. Perfect combination with my coffee.

It is my first time to visit Hamburg and dine in this restaurant. The grand decoration of the restaurant attracts Me to come. One more nice spot is piano ! They invite me to play piano. I am very enjoy ! FINALLY I order the cake and tea. The bill is around 14 euro. Very very yummy cake! All of you must bring the Selfie stand because the environment is very very vintage. The restaurant locate at a big shopping mall in Hamburg. Good to take a break ! I will be back !

Love the ambience, super cosy and romantic. Super friendly staff, rare case in Hamburg! Had 3 cakes, all were good - schoko, mango and that purple layer cake. Will definitely be back to try their dishes, heard the Schnitzel is to die for!

Nice food, but definitely overpriced. We came for breakfast. My friend’s portion of French toast was tiny. Very full on a Saturday and although I made a reservation and my friend was already at the table, I had to wait for several minutes. At first they didn’t even know where they seated my friends… it used to be way better before, when it was the Kaffeerösterei. There are better options in town.

Cozy elegant cafe. They have nice seating beside the window 🪟. The waiters are very polite and patient. They have a wide collection of desserts and their presentation is very good. I recommend visiting here.

Such a beautiful spot! The food was amazing — I had the scrambled eggs with peppers, a little spicy but sooo delicious. The cappuccino was perfect too. But the best part? The views! Sitting by the window was just wow 🤩 The decor inside is gorgeous and the staff was super attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re in Germany! 🇩🇪☕✨

What a beautiful and quaint cafe. It was quite packed on Sunday midday. The food was quite decent with great coffee. Attentive service. The English menu is only available through scanning a QR code from a little cute wooden square contraption (photo reference is attached). A mad genius, who designed this piece, didn't take into account that no phone would be able to scan a QR code that's printed in a faint gold color on a very dark red background. Normally when people want their QR code to be readable, it's printed with black ink on white background. We've tried two different trinkets with the QR code and two different phones with no luck. Please just reprint the QR code in black on white and attach a sticker to the cute wooden square tablet 🙏
