Miniatur Wunderland is a must-visit attraction in Hamburg, featuring the world's largest model train exhibit. The miniature recreations of famous global sites such as Hamburg, Austria, and Scandinavia are incredibly detailed, with animated elements like planes taking off and lights simulating sunset and sunrise. It's a popular tourist spot for visitors of all ages, offering guided tours through its intricate landscapes and bustling cities.
Absolutely amazing experience. One can spend hours here. Of course Kids gonna love it but I I found mostly adults on that day cherishing entire replica of famous cities with excruciating details as a miniature world. One can see and admire all that work gone into planning an execution of this world over the years. One of its kind experience not to be missed. The entry ticket is 20 euros but definitely worth it.
Naman S — Google review
Wonderful experience, details are incredible, as well as the perfect scaling and diversity of scenes presented. 100% positive memory. Being an adult doesn’t mean itself not for you! Maybe ever better than being a kid. The day/night alternation gives it a magical touch. WOW
Leonardo D — Google review
Wooooow! Amazing place with a unique experience that lets you walk through different parts of the globe. I loved how much attention to detail was put into everything, and the design often includes funny little scenarios—like taking a bath with a penguin or the sheep pyramid! It’s incredibly creative, yet the landscapes still feel realistic. The night and day versions of the cities are a very cool twist. Also, all the robotics and technology behind the functioning train system—without any crashes—is mind-blowing. I especially enjoyed getting a behind-the-scenes look at the newest addition. One thing to note: it’s a huge place to explore, so plan your visit accordingly to give yourself enough time to enjoy it without rushing from room to room. It can also get quite busy, so be patient and dedicate a full day if possible. There’s a café and food area if you want to take a break during your visit. Definitely recommend it! I’d love to come back and get even more lost in the details.
Dorottya-Agota S — Google review
Amazing place for a visit especially with children although you don’t need kids to enjoy this amazing place.. the workmanship is just phenomenal. Pictures don’t do it justice. €20 for adult €17 concessions and €12.50 for kids worth every penny. Cloakroom and lockers for your stuff.50 cents and a canteen and gift shop Footnote please make sure you book online as we were in a line and had only late entry to get in so we had to get a early entry next day but that was nearly sold out also ..
Glyn ( — Google review
Fantastic venue. Everything feels grounded and made by people who know what visitors will want to have or need. The exhibition itself is spectacular. Lots of details and stories are told ... Sometimes very hidden. Food is fine. Okay price. Reminded me of IKEA. There could be more washrooms. Also, the regular ticket isn't valid for reentry. That's a bit of a bummer since opening hours are until 1am.
Robert K — Google review
Amazing attraction. We purchased tickets well in advance and got lucky, wasn't too busy. The scenery displays are magnificent, and now perhaps has got too big? We went as a couple, but seen visitors young and old enjoying the quirky funny characters placed within the miniature towns. Very close to city and other attractions such as the Elbphilharmonie, U Boat Museum, shopping etc.
W T — Google review
Must visit if you're in Hamburg! The miniature work done is just amazing. We didn't get tickets online inspite of trying for days on a weekday and so we decided to just walk in. We were told at the entrance to wait approx 1 hour which we agreed to. The waiting area is good with free unlimited juice/water but subsidized price tea/coffee and many activities for kids and we barely waited for 10 mins and we got an entry to the Miniature land which was surprisingly quick. There is an Garderobe service for a price at enterance which we utilised but later on realised there are free cabinets to keep your stuff once you go inside. There are restaurants at different levels with really good food also lots of vegetarian options and very minimal priced which was the best thing. One can easily spend 2-3 hrs going around.Overall highly recommend
Sheetal G — Google review
Visited there in September 2023. Fantastic must visit place for all ages if you are at Hamburg, full day will be vanished unknowingly. Gift shop and bistro is there inside the miniature. Entry fees applicable €20 per adult and children upto 1 metre length is free. Ticket can be booked online and less crowded hours booking will be best choice, however we visit there in a weekdays to avoid crowds but we found full of crowd. A spectacular miniature from various famous locations and cities around the world spanning over 3 floors. The details and quality of the models is outstanding and so realistic. Using Souvenir Medaille press your own penny (Only 1 & 5 cent) into a souvenir design for long lasting your memory.

Lutheran church
St. Michael's Church, also known as Hauptkirche Sankt Michaelis, is a prominent Baroque Lutheran church in Hamburg. Its 132-meter-tall copper-covered spire makes it a standout landmark in the city. Visitors can ascend the tower, locally referred to as 'Michel,' using stairs or an elevator to enjoy panoramic views of the city and port, especially during extended evening openings.
Nice church, huge, very grand and spectacular. Our timing could have been better, they were having service on Easter so we didn't see much of the inside. But it looked like it was certainly worth experiencing both inside and out. Would have loved to have been able to go up the tower and see the crypt!
Richard — Google review
St. Michael’s Church is a very beautiful and famous place in Hamburg. The building is big and impressive from outside, and inside it looks peaceful and bright. You can also go up to the tower and see a great view of the whole city. It is a nice place to visit for history, architecture, and quiet time.
Kunal — Google review
Very good National Landmark to visit in Berlin because of different reasons. The arquitecture and history are some of the most important facts to learn at this location, but also specially the view! Take the elevator or walk up the tower, it's "only" 500 steps! Once at the top enjoy the incredible views from Hamburg! Very recommendable spot to discover in Hamburg!
Real T — Google review
I would highly recommend visiting St Michael's church as the view from the top of the tower is probably the best in the city! To go up there is a small side building to buy your tickets and any souvenirs you may want, we only got the tower tickets at around €8 each. To get there you have to climb a few sets of stairs before reaching the main elevator to the top. Once on top of the tower you'll have full 360 panoramic views of the city, just beware the bell does still ring up the top and it made my friends and I jump!
Atlas — Google review
St. Michael’s Church is a must-visit in Hamburg! We went up the tower – it’s the highest viewpoint in the city, and the view is absolutely stunning. The entry fee is only 8 euros, which is honestly a bargain for such a breathtaking panorama. There were quite a few people, but the elevator made the climb easy and fast. Totally worth it!
Khusein K — Google review
Beautiful architecture. Absolutely worth the fee to climb the tower, the view is amazing. 555 steps up, with a few exhibits along the way.
Valerie H — Google review
We had a blast at St. Michael's Church today! The view from the tower of Hamburg was incredible. There is an elevator but be sure to either walk up or take the stairs down so you can see the tower clock mechanics! The crypt wasn't great, but seeing CPE Bach's burial spot was awesome, especially for a music lover. 😉 The church itself is gorgeous, and we even got to hear an organ concert with all three main instruments. The acoustics were amazing – like a 5-second reverb! Go on a Saturday morning by 11:30 for the noon concert/service.
Jeff A — Google review
Impressive in scale and beauty. Amazing inside and out, with a very large pipe organ. It must be an amazing experience when that is being played. We were lucky to catch a concert rehearsal, which filled the chamber with beautiful music.

It was an impressive bridge that commanded attention. With its towering height and sleek, modern design, it seemed to stretch endlessly into the sky. The structure itself was a marvel of engineering, with every beam and support perfectly placed to ensure maximum strength and stability. As I walked across the bridge, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at its grandeur and power. From the vantage point of the top, the view was simply breathtaking, with the city skyline and surrounding landscape spread out before me in all their glory. It was a testament to human ingenuity and creativity, and a reminder of the incredible things that we can accomplish when we put our minds to it.

The Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, is the city's tallest building and a landmark concert venue with stunning views of the harbor. Visitors can explore historical landmarks like the Hamburg Rathaus and St. Michael's Church, enjoy concerts at various musical venues including the Elbphilharmonie, and take tours of the harbor area.
Beautiful building, architecture and imaginative space. You can visit for free and just go up the two escalators and there you can walk outside the viewing platform. To get a ticket just go up to the kiosk and state how many, it's free.Youll see QR codes but don't scan them as you pay a small fee but they allow fast track,so unless you're short of time or the queue is really long you could do that but you'll all going in the same direction. Its open till late too and nice views at sunset.
Brian F — Google review
I recently visited this striking building in Hamburg, and it truly exceeded my expectations. Architecturally, it is a masterpiece—modern, innovative, and with a sense of elegance that immediately stands out. The design is both cutting-edge and inviting, and the panoramic views it offers over the city and the harbor are absolutely breathtaking. It’s one of those landmarks that feels both futuristic and seamlessly integrated into its surroundings, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Hamburg. One of the aspects I really appreciated is the accessibility. Entrance is free, although you need to queue in order to receive a timed ticket to pass through the turnstiles. The process is well organized, and while there can be a wait, it is usually manageable. For those who prefer not to stand in line, there is the option to purchase a “skip-the-line” ticket for just a few euros, which I found to be very convenient and worth considering during peak hours. Inside, the atmosphere continues to impress. The space is bright, airy, and beautifully maintained, offering plenty of opportunities to take in the surroundings at your own pace. The store located within the building is also worth a visit: it is stylish, well-curated, and features a nice selection of souvenirs and design objects that reflect the spirit of Hamburg. Overall, this building is much more than just a viewpoint—it’s a cultural and architectural highlight that combines innovation, beauty, and accessibility. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience one of the most remarkable perspectives of Hamburg.
Mirko B — Google review
It’s free to go up to the terrace and enjoy a panoramic view of Hamburg from above. There’s an automatic escalator that takes you up. At the top, you’ll find a café and a restaurant, and you can also bring your own food to enjoy there.
Ayşe ( — Google review
Beautiful building. We were lucky enough to visit it free of cost. The entrance was allowrd and security was present even at 10pm because of a performance there. I heard that by 2026 entrance won't be free. The building offers free panoramic view over the city. I recommend taking ferry 72 from Lanndungsbrucke which drops one directly to the building. The view of this building over water is amazing.
Rabia R — Google review
View from the rooftop is nice, free entry (need to get a free ticket at door). I have been there twice, the first time is a gloomy workday in November, and there is no wait. The second time it gets quite crowded on a sunny weekend afternoon. There is a long queue for getting the free ticket, but there is also the option of paying 3 euro to skip the queue.
Mingtong Z — Google review
Nice experience, nice view! Be mindful of the wind gusts when strolling on the terrace. It can get pretty windy. The view and building architecture is stunning.
Eduard G — Google review
A stunning blend of architecture and acoustics! The curved glass façade and harbor view are breathtaking. The plaza’s sound, space, and light feel perfectly balanced — a must-see icon of modern Hamburg.
Huu V — Google review
Lovely building to spend some time wandering and taking in the views even if you're not watching an event. Small bar and food offerings too. Top tip: don't pre-book online at a cost! It's free to enter by collecting a ticket at the kiosk right beside the entrance. Funky little travelator takes you up and down to the viewing platform.

Ellerntorsbrücke is a historical arch stone bridge in Hamburg, dating back to 1668, making it the city's second oldest surviving stone bridge. Despite undergoing renovations after World War II, the bridge has retained its original design and appearance. Its three arches create a unique and picturesque view, especially when reflected in the water below. The bridge served as a direct route from Hamburg to Altona for centuries and continues to be a popular spot for visitors seeking beautiful photo opportunities.

Chilehaus is a remarkable 1920s building in Hamburg, Germany, designed to resemble a ship and symbolize the city's economic revival after World War I. Commissioned by Henry B. Sloman, who made his fortune in Chile and wanted to give back to his hometown, the building houses restaurants, shops, and offices. It is an iconic example of Brick Expressionism architecture.
This UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for its striking, ship-like shape, with sharp angles and intricate brickwork that showcases the Expressionist architectural style. The building’s facade is a masterpiece of brick design, and while it’s an office building with no interior access, you can spend about 15-30 minutes admiring its exterior. The surrounding area also features other interesting architecture to explore around on foot.

Architectural masterpiece. Dont miss in a Hamburg trip. “It is an exceptional example of the 1920s Brick Expressionism style of architecture. This large angular building is located on a site of approximately 6,000 m2 (1.5 acres), spanning the Fischertwiete Street in Hamburg. It was designed by the German architect Fritz Höger and finished in 1924. As part of Kontorhaus District, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015.”

Beautiful famous brick building in the Kontorhaus District. A great example of Brick Expressionism style. It has a very nice inner courtyard. Located near the Speicherstadt. Nearby, there is one more beautiful brick building with inner courtyard - Sprinkenhof. As a part of the Kontorhaus District, it's a parrt of the UNESCO Heritage.

Trostbrücke, a small historic bridge in Hamburg, crosses the Nikolaifleet and once marked the boundary between the city's old and new towns. Built in 1881, this stone bridge is adorned with statues of Count Adolf III and Bishop Ansgar, who founded the original cathedral. Despite its name meaning 'comfort bridge,' it has a somewhat ominous history as it was used for prisoners on their way to trial.

Zollenbrücke, the oldest bridge in the city of Hamburg, has a rich history dating back to 1663. This 25-meter-long bridge is constructed with sandstone blocks and features three differently-sized arches. The railings and lanterns, added during the 19th century widening, add to its historical charm. Visitors can admire its beautiful architecture and capture stunning photos while enjoying great views of the surrounding buildings.

(Translated by Google) The Zollenbrücke, built in 1633, is the oldest surviving bridge in Hamburg and a real architectural gem in the middle of the historic Speicherstadt. Its rustic charm, sandstone structure and wrought iron railings transport you to another time. As a silent witness to centuries of trading history, it not only connects two banks, but also past and present. Its location is particularly impressive - nestled between water, historic warehouses and modern port buildings - the bridge offers a great photo opportunity and a nice place to linger. Despite its central location, it is usually pleasantly quiet. A place for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts and anyone who wants to discover Hamburg off the beaten track. Conclusion: A small but nice highlight with a historical flair - a must for anyone who wants to get to know Hamburg's soul.

Nice old channel with the oldest buildings in Hamburg. The most beautiful part is located from the opposite side of the Deichstraße street - there on the channel there is a small dock which provides nice views. But at the time of my visit it was a low tide, and views differ a bit from what I saw on the photos. You can get to the dock from the Deichstraße street - there are 2 narrow paths between the buildings on the street that are leading to the dock. Nice views of the channel from the opposite sides can be seen from the Holzbrücke and Hohe Brücke bridges.

Hamburg is a hub for tech giants like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Airbnb, and Yelp. In 2017, Snapchat also joined this lineup by establishing its offices in the city. This move reflects Hamburg's growing status as the new German capital for business startups. The city has surpassed Berlin in terms of new business founders per capita. Visitors to Google's building can explore some rooms and attend events like the Google I/O keynote.
Baffled and Frustrated by Google’s Removal of My Honest Review A few years ago, I visited a local pizza joint after work and left a quick Google review to share my thoughts. It was a typical experience—nothing spectacular, but decent pizza and friendly service. My review simply read: "Ok pizza and good service. Nothing special, but for a quick bite after work a very good location." I gave it three stars, which felt fair. It wasn’t a five-star meal, but it was fine for a casual stop. Fast forward to last week, and I received an email from Google informing me that my review was going to be removed because it was deemed defamatory under German law. Defamatory? Honestly, I was baffled. After reading my review again, I still have no clue which part of it could be considered harmful or defamatory. I wasn’t rude, insulting, or even overly critical. I just stated my honest opinion: the pizza was "ok," and the service was "good." Naturally, I wrote back to Google, politely asking for clarification. I wanted to know exactly why my review was being flagged as defamatory. I also questioned the value of the review system itself—if honest feedback from customers could be removed simply because it wasn't glowing, what was the point of reviews in the first place? If businesses can just get bad reviews erased to boost their ratings, isn't the system broken? And why would Google allow this to happen? The response I got was frustratingly vague. It was a generic, copy-paste reply that still claimed my review was defamatory, but didn't address a single one of my questions or provide any real reasoning. It felt like no one at Google actually took the time to read my review or consider my perspective. It was just the same automated message with no substance. So now I’m left wondering: what's the point of leaving honest reviews if they can be removed so easily, especially when they don’t align with the five-star narrative? I get that businesses want good ratings, but is Google really going to allow them to sweep less-than-perfect reviews under the rug? It feels like they’re turning a blind eye to the authenticity of the system in favor of keeping the stars shining bright. If you’re planning to use Google’s review system, be cautious. It seems that expressing a genuine, balanced opinion may not always be welcome. I’m honestly disappointed in Google for allowing this kind of manipulation, and I don’t think my trust in the platform will ever be the same. I've seen many other reviews from people who’ve had the exact same thing happen to them, so it seems I'm not alone in this frustration.
Susanne S — Google review
Google forces reviewers to take down the negative reviews as the companies are its clients, and for various ones for my true feedback, I am told to take it down as it is against Google policies. I ve decided to delete my complete reviews, despite being a level 7 reviewer contributing over 7 years, from Google platform and follow Yelp. Previously I thought that reviewers can review honestly but after this reality, I am doubtful. Further on schools the reviews are disabled which don’t support the expression of true information and should be open for public feedback.
A K — Google review
I wrote an review for a hotel that I stayed at. It said, that the service was unfriendly, the bed was uncomfortable and that the WiFi was totally inadequate for my business stay. Google took it down because of defamation! I was supposed to provide proof of my claims. What is a rating portal good for, if that is how it is handled - that way I know now, that only good reviews will stay up and that I should not trust any reviews.
Patrick B — Google review
Google´s Review Policy, if ever aimed for honesty and consumer´s true feedback, became a real bluff in terms of feedback culture. Even if the content/feedback just mirrors the experience with no offence and violation against the policy, a one star review got rejected instantly with no means. Which in the long run makes the whole Google review approach obsolete. Better tune your AI capabilities to detect true scam then requesting feedback on locations visited, no really wanting true feedback. The overall rating of Google on their own platform reflects it all. Google does not even feed back / comments on reviews towards themselves. Seems to be the nature of the B. Since this is a one star review, I expect above.
Lester P — Google review
They say about inclusivity, liberal environment, and a great work culture. Don't be fooled, all they care about is how to get every penny you have. Very toxic environment. And actually they break a law on a daily basis but nobody cares, beacuse $. Literally the worst corpo I've been forced to work with. They are even worse then EA where I worked for some time. And it's not easy to be worse then EA trust me.
Krerk — Google review
As a customer of google mail services, YouTube and one who write reviews on maps, I can easily say, your review policies and AI practices fail in many aspects. Describing a real experience of discrimination doesn't make it fake. Other people need to know which businesses use biased practices. Poggenmühlen Bridge, also known as Poggenmuhlenbrucke, is a popular spot in Hamburg for its stunning views. The bridge offers a picturesque sight of the Wasserschloss, a moated red-brick castle surrounded by impressive storehouses at the confluence of Wandrahmsfleet and Hollandischbrookfleet. It's not just the bridge itself that draws attention, but the incredible photo opportunities it provides of the Speicherstadt Warehouses.

The French essayist Montaigne, knowingly influenced by Seneca and Cicero, teaches us that „to philosophize is to learn how to die“. Every day we shall reflect on our transitory nature & translate such learning into the way we walk through life. How do you walk through life? Do you always listen to music, perpetually distracted from what‘s going on around you? Do you ever take the time to walk through nature and soak in all its beauty, that which is visible and that indistinguishably? Have you ever strolled along or even around the Alster, Hamburg‘s epicenter of mental health, and learned how to die? If you haven‘t, I urge you to. The lake, and its never fading aesthetics, helps you reach a climax of feeling calm and well no other lake in Europe is capable of. Life is brief. Embrace it.
Moritz — Google review
For those looking to take their Alster experience to the next level, renting a paddle boat or kayak is a must! Cruising along the river allows you to fully appreciate its beauty from a different perspective. The gentle breeze, the sound of water lapping against the boat, and the occasional chirping of birds create a soothing symphony that soothes the soul. If you're a photography enthusiast, the Alster offers endless opportunities to capture stunning shots. From the iconic lakeside villas to the picturesque bridges that span the river, every frame feels like a work of art waiting to be captured. Moreover, the Alster has a wide range of cafés and restaurants nearby, where you can sit back, relax, and savor some delectable treats while enjoying the view. There's something truly magical about sipping a hot cup of coffee or indulging in a slice of cake as you watch the world go by, with the Alster as your backdrop.

Observation deck
The Dockland Office Building in Hamburg is a striking architectural gem located on the north bank of the Elbe River. Its design resembles that of a ship, with a steel and glass rhomboid structure set at an impressive 66-degree angle. The building's bow extends 40 meters over the river, offering panoramic views of the harbor and surrounding areas from its rooftop observation deck.
The Dockland is an architectural icon in Hamburg, shaped like a parallelogram, with a sloping rooftop offering sweeping views of the harbour. The building itself is an office, but the roof and ground floor plaza is open to the public for free. Climbing the staircase to the top takes about 10 minutes, and you can spend another 20-30 minutes around the space enjoying the spectacular views of the harbour and canal. I absolutely recommend visiting it if you’re in Hamburg.
Vikash P — Google review
Located right next to the harbour with fantastic views from the rooftop. Access is only available via the external steps there is no elevator or toilets here, it is a private office building having said that the view is spectacular even when your legs feel like lead when you’re going up and the building itself is impressive like a big wedge plonked on the harbours edge.
Dave P — Google review
Good place to take a look at the harbor, just be prepared for the wind at the very top. Also, the view point/terrace at the very top isn't that big. No access to elevators and you're not allowed to sit on the stairs.
Délceg A — Google review
Like a gateway to the city of Hamburg, the Dockland office building stands at one end of Edgar-Engelhard-Kai, a street quay between the Norderelbe, the northern arm of the Elbe River, and the Fischereihafen, the harbour for the fishing trade. The “bow” of this ship-like 🛥 futuristic office building juts out freely 40 meters over the river Elbe. An observation deck is located on its roof and can be reached via a public outdoor staircase. After climbing the 140 steps, visitors are rewarded with a stunning view of Elbe and harbor. The name Dockland was chosen based on dock areas in London which have been remodeled to offer space for living and working. It was designed by the Hamburg-based architects Bothe, Richter, Teherani. From the roof of this deck you can see amazing view of harbor. Good scenic view.🤗
Shruti K — Google review
If you travel by bus to Altona, catch line 111 (direction Hafen City) and in about 10 minutes you will have the destination. If you don't exercise often it might take you a while to reach the top part of the building where you can see the nearby hills, the cranes, the Elbe river of course! It is a really nice place to visit in Hamburg.
Alejandro M — Google review
It's a really nice place where you can see the view of the Harbour! It's an office building so it's completely free, you just need to be aware of the stairs ( it's not so heavy climbing them) I recommend it at the sunset time, good atmosphere!

Rathaus, also known as Hamburg City Hall, serves as the seat of local government in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany. It is not only a governmental hub but also a significant architectural landmark. Situated in the heart of the city at Rathausmarkt square, it boasts an elaborate design both internally and externally. This grand edifice stands near Binnenalster lake and the central station, making it easily accessible to visitors exploring Hamburg's city center.
Hamburg City Hall (Rathaus) is the seat of local government of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany. It is the seat of the government of Hamburg and as such, the seat of one of Germany's 16 state parliaments. The Rathaus is located in the Altstadt quarter in the city center, at the Rathausmarkt square, and near the lake Binnenalster and the central station. Constructed from 1886 to 1897, the city hall still houses its original governmental functions with the office of the First Mayor of Hamburg and the meeting rooms for Hamburg's parliament and senate. It is one of the few completely preserved buildings of historicism in Hamburg. Built in a period of wealth and prosperity, in which the Kingdom of Prussia and its confederates defeated France in the Franco-German War and the German Empire was formed, the look of the new Hamburg Rathaus was intended to express this wealth and also the independence of the State of Hamburg and Hamburg's republican traditions.
