The Herberger Theater Center is a vibrant hub for live entertainment in Phoenix, Arizona. It features three stages, including an 800-seat theater, and also houses an art gallery upstairs. Home to the Arizona Theatre Company and Center Dance Ensemble, the center offers top-notch performances and engaging outreach programs. Visitors can enjoy award-winning shows, explore the art gallery, support local youth initiatives, and even take advantage of dinner packages and affordable parking options.
It was good, I enjoyed it. Get there early to get drinks, mingle, use restroom and freshen up. Once the show starts you can only leave the theater, you cannot reenter the show. Upper outer balcony has a nice art display. The bar has cocktails, hot chocolate, and Pepsi products. Also you pick your own seats in your section.

Great theater, I went with my friends to see a burlesque show called The Empire Strips Back (check them out on insta!!). The staff were friendly and there was drink service as well, along with the venue being clean and well-kept. Would definitely go back, and I highly recommend that area for bars and restaurants as well.
Jack B — Google review
I ordered tickets online for myself and my boyfriend to see "The Empire Strips Back" on Oct. 4th, 2025 at The Herberger Theater Center. We walked to the venue, so I have no comment about parking. However, our show was supposed to start at 9:30pm, but the earlier showing was running a little late and so we were waiting outside for quite a while before we could choose our seats. We were invited to enter the lobby area of the building to order drinks, use the restroom, and buy some merch, so that helped to pass the time. Since I paid for Row A seating (the closest to the stage aside from the VIP section), I was invited to sit anywhere in those rows- so the rows themselves were reserved, but no specific seats, so you'll still have to call dibs on your preferred spot. As a 5 ft 8 in woman, the seating felt a little tight for my liking. Most people stood up for me to get passed them, aside from one lady, and when I walked past her I was worried my hips would smack her face. Other than that, I didn't have any problem watching the performance- nobody blocked my view and I think if I sat further away, I'd still have a decent view of the stage. We had a heckler in the crowd who kept yelling obscenities as the host of the show, fortunately by the second act he was removed from the event. There was a 15 minute intermission for the show, which was a good opportunity for more drinks or a bathroom break. I recommend using the restrooms on the second floor, as they are more hidden than the first floor. I'm glad I went to this event, and I would consider returning to the Herberger Theater Center when they have any other fun events in store.

This show was absolutely incredible! I had no idea what to expect, but it was beyond entertaining!! The dancers were so talented and each set was so well choreographed. The music was perfect! I’m not a Star Wars fan, but this was so much fun; I highly recommend!!

We seen The Empire Strips back and the venue was amazing. Seats were great, prices were also very reasonable with many options for the show we seen. Will definitely come back again

So much fun! Extremely funny and sexy. I took my husband for his birthday and we got the rebel package. Totally worth it! We had a blast. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. The women are incredibly talented. Definitely a must see if you're looking for something outside the box.

Great place to see a show. We saw The Empire Strips Back, was entertaining. We had floor seats to the right side of stage but no obstacles in our way and the cushions where very comfortable. There is balcony seating which looked pretty cozy as well. Purchased drinks at intermission and was able to bring them to our seats, no food allowed though. Nice intimate theater

The Herberger Theater is such a beautiful venue! The staff was welcoming and helpful, and everything was well organized from entry to seating. The sound and lighting were excellent, and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. It’s a great place to see a live performance, and the whole experience felt really special. I can’t wait to come back for another show!

Nestled in Peoria, Arizona, the Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT) is a charming venue that brings the magic of live Broadway-style musicals to life. This not-for-profit organization is committed to enhancing community experiences through performing arts while offering an exceptional dining experience alongside its shows. Whether you're planning a romantic evening out, a fun family gathering, or celebrating a special occasion, ABT provides an inviting atmosphere perfect for all.
We absolutely loved this theatre. It was our first visit whilst holidaying in Arizona. We went to see Beautiful, the Carole King musical, it was brilliant. The experience of having a meal served before the show and then watching the show from the table was totally different to us and thoroughly enjoyable. The meal was excellent as well. What we loved as well was that the cast came into the foyer after the show to meet the audience. It was lovely to chat with the performers and congratulate them on a brilliant show.

I had the pleasure of attending Arizona Broadway Theatre’s performance of “Phantom”. I had never seen this other version of the iconic “Phantom of the Opera” story and was eager to experience it. I first want to note that the lobby and seating area were clean and pristine! All staff were friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. I also greatly adored and appreciated that the lobby and theatre area were decorated for the musical. And it was such a treat that the main cast came out to the lobby after the show to mingle with the audience. As for the show; I was awed and amazed by the level of talent performing this extraordinary musical on stage. Jamie made such an enchanting Phantom and really captivated the audience with his exceptional performance. Alec did a wonderful job as Phantom as well. The actress who played Christine really conveyed the innocence, beauty, and sweetness well that was the character and backed it up with her vocals. The actress who played Carlotta was most convincing and gave such an entertaining performance with her spot on accent and vocals. The supporting cast were also great and really helped with the immersive experience. Although I did not purchase a meal with my ticket, I did see the dessert options come out and was happy with how everything looked. With this in mind, I will want to try a meal ticket next time I attend the Arizona Broadway Theatre. I can hardly wait to attend another show! Thank you AZ Broadway Theatre for reawakening my love and passion for the arts; I shall never let that part of me sleep again.

My daughter participated in the theatre camp and absolutely loved it! The staff were so friendly and learned her name right away. She felt safe and excited to go everyday. The show they put on was light-years beyond what I expected for a kids musical! Fantastic place to take your theatre loving kiddos!

As a lifelong theatre buff and someone who has been involved in community theatre development for many years, I can honestly say that Arizona Broadway Theatre is one of the most impressive professional theatre organizations I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you arrive, the professionalism shines through. The food is delicious, the service attentive, and the overall atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in for something special. And then the show begins—wow! The talent on stage is top-notch, (yes brought in from New York's own Broadway) the costumes are stunning, and the sets are nothing short of magical. Their new LED screen is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in Arizona, bringing productions to life in a whole new way. Beyond the stage, ABT’s commitment to the community is remarkable. Their outreach programs for kids are truly changing lives, planting seeds of creativity and confidence that will last a lifetime. To see a theatre that not only entertains but also uplifts the next generation is inspiring. After 20 years in the making, Arizona Broadway Theatre continues to raise the bar. If you haven’t been yet, treat yourself—it’s an amazing experience!

We attended the opening night of Newsies! This is the third time we have seen a show at ABT and it never disappoints. Cocktail reception prior to the show: Strong drinks, and great flavor. I love the themed signature cocktails. The set design is outstanding. For a smaller stage, the design made you feel like you were transported back to 1899 New York. The dinner was good. I had the salmon, it was moist, flavorful, and prepared perfectly. The performance made headlines. The cast was talented and kept my attention the whole time, which is hard to do for someone with a short attention span like me. I would recommend seeing a show at Arizona Broadway Theatre anytime you are looking for something fun and entertaining!
Clayton D — Google review
We made a trip to see the Newsies musical. We were greeted with friendly staff and we're walked to our table. This place was great. My family enjoyed the show and even met with cast. The cast came out to meet the audience in the lobby and signed autographs and also took pictures with us. This was a great experience and we look forward to coming back for other shows.

Broadway is the cultural heartbeat of New York. Walking through the district, the glowing lights of the theaters create an exciting atmosphere. I had the chance to watch a Broadway musical, and it was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. The talent of the actors and the quality of the production were outstanding. Even just walking through the area felt inspiring because of the energy in the air. The mix of history, art, and entertainment here is unmatched. If you want to experience the true cultural side of New York, Broadway is the place to go.
Isaac P — Google review
First time to this theater, and it was a fantastic experience! We saw Newsies, and the show and cast was incredible. The sets, the stage, the talent, it was a great show from start to finish! Very cool that they serve dinner and drinks, the food was good and the service throughout was great! If you get the opportunity to go to any show here, don’t skip!

Carnival of Illusion is a Vaudeville-inspired show that is quite skilled and features no holds barred. It's highly acclaimed and well known throughout the state for its magic and mystery.
Great show and a lot of audience participation. I brought my 10 year old grandson, and he stayed focused on the performance the entire time. A lot of fun! This act would be fantastic if you were having a big party, and wanted a performance. Very much enjoyed it. And tell Susan, she needs a little more enthusiasm ! Lol

We wanted to do something different for a date night and this show gave us a night to remember! The magic, the comedy, the intimate setting that allowed awesome audience interaction/participation hit on so many amazing levels. We had a blast and I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. Fantastic show!!

This was such an awesome event. I recommend this show to all ages. Great family fun. I've never been to a magic show before and having this been my first time, Dana did not disappoint! Loved it!

I truly enjoyed the Carnival! This is such a well run company with wonderful artists. I found out about these shows through their partnership with Arizonans for Children and we truly enjoyed it. Very funny and simply a great show. We will definitely attend more in the future.
David G — Google review
I loved every minute of this show!! David Minkin is personable & funny on top of being an amazing illusionist! This is such a great show, I will absolutely be going again!
Darcy A — Google review
Cute show but not what I expected. This is no Vegas or big venue show, this is a mom an pop show with no frills or thrills. The audio quality was poor and it was difficult to hear the performers several time during the show. We had to fill in the blanks to understand what is going on. I would compare this show to a kids magic show. Besides that the performers are attentive and even greet you at the end of the show. This was my first time seeing them and again they did announce this was their first show in a long time. I hope they make improvement in their production and showmanship in the future. I did not take any pictures inside or video do to their rules.

Just saw this gorgeous show at the Tempe Center for the Arts. It is absolutely STUNNING in every way! Everything, from the tickets to the decor, to the brochures and pamphlets to the posters are all exquisite in old world magic aesthetic. The show itself is thrilling! Filled with fun moments of audience engagement, this show delights in mystery, fanfare, beauty, and of course, a wonderful sense of magic and wonder! There is nothing quite like experiencing the Carnival Of Illusion here in our beautiful state. Nothing comes close to capturing the beauty of magic and the soul of the world, quite like these two. An absolute delight, all around! And, if you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary with magic in the air, the stars will align with a lovely surprise! After the show, this magic duo comes out to greet everyone personally and spend a bit of time with you after the magic. If you're celebrating with them, they'll even pose for photos with you too! <3 Oooh la la!

We attended COI and enjoyed the Chipper Experience immensely. The show is top-notch and the professionals they bring in are impressive. Chipper, for one, was hilarious and engaging as he led our audience through his trunk of tricks and "experiments". This isn't an over-the-top production and you get to enjoy the exceptional talent of the performer in a small setting. If you're at all interested, I highly recommend Carnival of Illusion.

Arizona Theatre Company, known as Arizona's theatre company, offers a diverse range of performances in Phoenix. From dramas and classics to contemporary shows, comedies, and new works, the theater caters to various tastes. In addition to its captivating productions, the company collaborates with downtown restaurants to provide multiple dinner options for patrons. One of their notable shows features British actor Max Alexander-Taylor who skillfully plays six guitars while sharing a touching story about reconnecting with his estranged father.
Beautiful venue and great experience at my first show there, which was Scrooge! Easy parking at the garage right next to it, which they validate so no cost. Quick, polite service at the bar and able to bring your drinks into the theater. Comfortable seats, kind and helpful ushers, gorgeous theater complex.

Step into a whirlwind of wit, heart, and deduction. This ingenious modern take on the iconic duo delivers two hours of great entertainment. Ms. Holmes, a logic machine, finds her perfect match in Ms. Watson, a divorced doctor overflowing with compassion. The actors tackle this script at breakneck speed, offering thrilling highs and poignant lows. While a comedy, the play expertly weaves in elements of tragedy and plenty of moments for reflection. You'll encounter real-life scenarios alongside profound existential questions. And keep your eyes peeled for the cowboy! It's a truly surprising and memorable touch. "Ms. Holmes and Ms. Watson Apt. 2B" is a sharp, engaging, and utterly unique theatrical experience. Don't miss it!

This review is about the play "Dial M for Murder" specifically. We were excited to see this classic, family-friendly, Alfred Hitchcock classic. They turned this into a woke version that included a couple of lesbian lovers from the very opening scene and closing with them passionately making out on the couch and laying on top of each other. The theater was half-empty on a Saturday night and we can now see why. Just stick to the original script of the classics and don't make them woke. The facility was beautiful. The parking lot was a disaster with no signage, cars going both directions and jackknifed all over the place, and when you enter and go straight you would end up going right into a wall - so there were a bunch of cars stacked up that were backing up to where you enter through the gate. I've never seen such a parking debacle. It took a half hour to get out of the parking lot and there weren't that many people from the theater. I would caution anybody going to this theater regarding them revising the classics into a woke agenda. It was a complete turn-off to my wife and I.
Z M — Google review
Went to see the classic Hitchcock "Dial M for Murder". We ended up seeing a very woke version that ended up totally changed this classic to involve two lesbian lovers. They opened up on the couch - were key characters through the entire play - and ended up making out on the couch on top of eachother. Not what we were looking for. The theater was half empty - apparently others had picked up on the "new adaptation". Disappointing. Building was very nice. Parking was a disaster - no signage - people jack knifed all over the place going both directions - took 40 minutes to get out of garage and there were not that many people. If you want WOKE theatre - this is the place to go. Not for us.

ASU Gammage, a historic theater located on the Arizona State University campus, is renowned for hosting various arts performances. Designed by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1950s, it was originally intended to be an opera house for the King of Iraq but was repurposed as an auditorium for ASU after political events led to the cancellation of the original project.
We had a great day visiting ASU Gammage for the Sunday matinee showing of Wicked. This was my first visit to Gammage, a staple for the Phoenix art scene, and I came away quite impressed with the theater. Parking was easy, with plenty of space right outside. We were able to get in and out quickly and walk to the building in minutes. The layout and ease of movement is nice, very accommodating to a dad with his three girls. We were in the middle balcony and made in from door to seat in just a few minutes. While not a theater buff, the sights and sounds were unbelievable! I’ll have to catch more shows here to confirm but I’ve heard nothing to the contrary. All in, quite impressed with Gammage and I look forward to another show at the facility.

I watched Suffs at ASU Gammage and had an amazing experience! The theatre is beautiful and full of history, and the show was absolutely powerful - great music, strong performances, and inspiring storytelling. The energy of the crowd and the atmosphere made it even more special. I was sitting on the balcony and the vocals and music were clear from my seat! Special mention to the staff at the will call, they were very helpful and kind in answering the queries regarding student discount and availability. The security and organizing team during the show were also extremely nice and helpful. A wonderful venue for Broadway shows in Arizona!

Great experience! Front row 1st balcony. Autographs and pics with the cast after the show. Celebrating our daughter surviving her freshman year of college!!

I'm going to go ahead and give this 5 stars, not necessarily because it's deserving, but because I want it to continue to stay the before that it is. Always great staff, wonderful ambience and architecture, parking has become a cluster, and the seats really are cramped. Been to a few productions here, lovely acoustics too.
Sean T — Google review
This is a review for & Juliet, and Suffs not for the venue. The venue is great and if you go early enough, you can get good parking. But even if you can’t there’s free parking just down the block at the garage. There’s also drinks and food you can order. But be aware of the clear bag policy! We bought season tickets and were very excited to see new musicals every month. The first 2 plays we saw were awful! Suffs is very boring. And Juliet was roll my eyes at “not more woke plays”. Both plays made me wonder if this is where this whole season is heading, I sure hope not. Suffs was about the suffragette movement so I knew it would have feminist flavour to it but the entire storyline was so boring and the songs were dull. But I had great hopes for Juliet. It is a play within a play with Shakespeare’s wife having a hand in changing the ending of the tragic tale of the star crossed lovers. It pokes fun at some of the ridiculousness of how they fell in love and ended their lives in 4 days! But as soon as we were introduced to Juliet’s best friend, I knew this was going to go down as another woke play. No original songs, just pop songs woven together to try to make a story. Some parts were a tad humorous but only because the entire play was so cringe and cliche that you had to cling to some of the small bits of humour. We have several more shows to go to and I really hope it gets better from here.
PhuMy G — Google review
I've seen several performances/shows at Gammage Auditorium, and I love this venue. One of my favorite shows that came to Gammage with a stellar performance was Hamilton. And if you're not a fan of traditional Broadway show...never fear...you'll discover a wide variety of shows and performances. We've also gone to Gammage to see The Blue Man Group, The Adams Family, Flashdance, Annie, Wicked, and so many more. Take a peek at what's coming and find something amazing to add to your calendar.

I’ve always love going to see shows at Gammage. It’s a nice venue. Great shows, nice staff, good drinks & snacks plus the seats have plenty of leg room. I’m tall plus wear heels and I have enough room to cross my legs and sit comfortably. We saw Moulin Rouge this time and it was fantastic. Life of Pi the last time, which was amazing.

Loved the experience! The seats were comfortable, and I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house. Great refreshments and snacks before the show and during intermission.

Nestled in the vibrant Government District of downtown Phoenix, the Arizona Financial Theatre is a dynamic 5,000-seat auditorium that perfectly marries classic theater charm with modern sound and lighting technology. Since its inception in 2002, this venue has become a go-to spot for touring artists seeking an intimate yet spacious setting—ideal for performances that are too grand for nightclubs but not quite suited to arenas.
Arizona Financial Theatre. 5 stars. Caught the Goo Goo Dolls here and honestly, I was impressed start to finish. The whole venue has a good vibe the second you walk in. The seats were surprisingly comfortable, not the usual “hope your back doesn’t give out” kind of concert seating. The sound was dialed in perfectly. Every lyric, every guitar riff, crystal clear and not the blown-out speaker mess some places deliver. The lighting was on point too, not blinding, just right to set the tone. Temperature inside was perfect. They somehow managed to keep it cool without turning it into a meat locker, which is a miracle in Phoenix. Parking was stupid expensive, but that’s downtown for you. At least it was easy to get in and out. Didn’t buy food or drinks because I’m not about that $14 pretzel life, but I saw plenty of people with beers and snacks, so they’ve got it covered if you’re feeling spendy. Staff? Super friendly. Security was actually helpful instead of treating everyone like a problem. Bathrooms were shockingly clean too, which is rare at these kinds of places. Overall just a smooth, easy, great night. Would absolutely go back for another show.

I feel like this place is a pretty solid venue for something like a comedy show or low-key concerts. I would go here if the band that I was looking to hear was playing here, but it is not the venue I would pick for a rock show. I’m not a small person, but also not grossly overweight. The seats are pretty close together, and unless you consciously pull your arms in, you are definitely going to be sharing space with your neighbor. The seats are set up like a standard auditorium with steps. If anyone needs to enter or leave the row, you need to stand up to allow them to pass. My most recent seat was in the lower section right behind the walkway, so I had a little extra privacy and no one directly in front of me which was pretty optimal. The drinks, as anywhere, were significantly overpriced. Two white claws with tip came to around $35. I’ve seen a variety of shows here from comedy to instrumental to 90s rock, and I would say all experiences were decent with decent sound. They have a large screen on each side of the stage so you can get a good view pretty much anywhere. The staff is pretty active to make sure that people are not standing in common areas, which was nice. The chairs could go through a remodel at some point as they are not very comfortable, and some are getting a little old. Overall, I would go back if there was somebody I wanted to see, especially a comedian, but in general, for music, this would not be my go-to venue. Also, parking is kind of a nightmare so personally, I would either Uber, get dropped off, or take the light rail.

Super fun, smaller venue for Concerts. No bad seats! Perfect to enjoy good music! It’s a bit of a walk to the bathrooms and the bar but worth it! Much rather see a concert here than the big venues. Sound is great! Easy to get in, clear bag policy. Did not purchase food here, we ate dinner prior. Tons of great restaurants downtown to eat at prior to attending a show!

Nice venue for concerts and events. The building was clean, bathrooms in working order, and security throughout the building during the event tonight. There were a few hot dog vendors outside after 11pm. Floors were sticky around chairs, but considering how many people are swinging their arms around with drinks, I'm not surprised.

Saw Dropout live; it was hilarious. Saw Weird Al; it was just as strange and entertaining as you'd expect. The venue was the perfect place both times.

We got the VIP experience for the Simple Plan concert. They kept us outside forever. It was just about 110 degrees outside. And there was no rush to get us inside. We had to wait for the VIP person to get there. Why wasn't she there waiting for us. We were kept outside for up to 40 mins. I also don't really recommend section 203 behind the sound station area. There was a couple standing in the sound area and the guys head blocked my view for the Bowling for Soup show. Im not even sure they worked there because I never saw them again. Then the lady with the bun kept blocking the rest of the shows. Yea we could've stood up, but then we block everyone behind us and we got seats because we wanted to sit. That area wasn't really that worth the premium price of over $200 a ticket because of the workers standing right in the view. Especially the random couple that showed up and just stood there in the sound area for an hour. I do give 5 stars of allll the performers. Everyone put on a fantastic show. Idk if I'll be back, and if I do it'll be in the cheaper seats.

Step back in time to the 11th century and experience the grandeur of Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Located in Arizona, this castle-like space offers a unique dining experience where you can enjoy a utensil-free, four-course meal while being entertained by jousting, horsemanship, and falconry. The live-action production allows you to immerse yourself in a medieval European atmosphere as knights compete in skill, strength, and combat games while riding Andalusian stallions.
I took my husband to Medieval Times Arizona for his birthday, and we had such a fantastic time! This was truly a memorable experience from start to finish. The show was incredibly well-choreographed — full of action, excitement, and just the right amount of drama. We were especially impressed by how well the horses were cared for and how skilled the performers were. The staff was amazing — fully in character, friendly, and made the evening feel extra magical. The food came in generous portions (and so did the drinks!), which was a pleasant surprise. We left feeling full, entertained, and happy. Overall, this was a unique and fun night out that we won’t soon forget. So glad we decided to check it out — it was absolutely worth it!

As a family who went in with no expectations and only a word of mouth review, this experience was ASTOUNDING. The food was delicious, the seats were stupendous, the souvenirs, the drinks, and the costumes were outstanding, and the best part was definitely the people. Our waitress Rylee was by far the highlight of the experience! She was extremely kind, kept us well fed, was immersed in her role and was just a genuinely incredible person! Two other notable people of the show were the Red and Blue knights! They were so sweet and chatted with us a bit after the show! Overall, this experience was by far the most amazing show we have ever gotten to experience! We will definitely be back!

This is definitely something everyone should do at least once! There is a lot to look at and a lot to do before the show starts I loved the food was amazing and they had a lot of people coming around selling different items throughout the game! Justin was our server and he had such a great spirit! I don't think this place takes cash so just bring your card. It was such a great time by the end of the night weve already talked about doing it again soon! The meal I believe was worth the price!

Spent about $200 for two of us. The food was cold and mediocre at best. The King and queen must've had their lips directly on the microphone as it was very hard to hear them. The horses and the tournament were fun to watch. Drinks were good but weak considering what we paid for them. The service was good. It was 1 server for the whole section. So the food was lukewarm when delivered. Overall, the experience was just ok. Ill wait for the Renaissance fair to come back.
Charlotte S — Google review
So much fun. We went to the educational show with our homeschool group and got a lower rate. I would definitely recommend that as it costs a pretty penny. It does feel worth it at that price however at full price I don't think so. The kids really enjoyed it and I thought the food was pretty good, well seasoned and hot meal of chicken, potato, and corn. The bread was like a Texas toast but while we thought there was a GF option, the GF people just didn't get bread at all. Then there was a packages cookie for dessert GF people got Italian ice. Overall great show and fun experience. Memories made!

Absolutely outstanding experience. The service, the food, the fun, all top notch. Great fun for the whole family. Good beer with cheap refills. One of the folks in my party had the vegetarian meal and loved it. Its definitely worth every penny!

Ballet Arizona is a must-visit destination for ballet enthusiasts, offering an exceptional blend of classical and contemporary performances. This innovative theater showcases beloved seasonal productions like 'The Nutcracker' alongside captivating works such as 'Cinderella.' With its professional choreography, live orchestras, and stunning design elements, Ballet Arizona stands out in Phoenix's cultural scene.
I was rocked to the core by Ballet Arizona last night. Always a raving fan , I have been coming to Ballet AZ for years. It has ruined me for other ballet troops. Last night I had the privilege to attend the world premiere of "Frida". From the very first movement, I knew that we were in for something almost other worldly in terms of magnificence. In my second round of chemo, My best friend treated me to second row. I brought my wheelchair due to exhaustion and was very excited to have a pleasant evening. Ballet Arizona never disappoints. Whether it was Gisele, Or Romeo and Juliet, Balanchine or the desert botanical, I have literally been mesmerized every moment, for years. Last night took it to the next level. Just when I thought you could not get any better. No way, no how! My eyes were so glued to the stage, That involuntary tears happened. Then, when the eight sides of Frida Entered for the first time - rolling tears proceeded for the next 5 to 10 minutes at least. I have never in my life been so physically moved by any performing art, and I am a classically trained Theatre actress. I was riveted. Not just in the emotions but also in the sheer grandeur and dedication of the performers themselves. I do want to call out one specific performer. We did not get a play bill, unfortunately They ran out for the crowd. My only complaint, but I will not give it less than a five star review. It was the doe. This girl number one completely embodied a living doe. But from one actor to another, (and she is indeed an actor in addition to what I would consider a prima ballerina 🩰) I must applaud that I could not stop staring at her when she was on stage. Not only is her vessel world class, but to be able to stay in character every single second, And perform with such precision, It was almost like watching AI. It was so perfect. 😍 I hope someone shows this review to her because since the lead in Gisele, she is my all-time favorite. This does not go to discredit the main star. She is Breathtaking. I was blown away by her style and mannerisms and precision. Everything the Director wanted me to see and feel I'm sure I felt it. And I'm not one of those people that typically gets the storylines unless my daughter is sitting next to me, whispering them in my ear. I am typically watching from a creative & technical perspective and enjoying every bit of the show. The show took me out out of that. I was fully engrossed and part in what I was watching and could feel so much sitting in this audience. The $400,000 was worth it. This is the best show on earth hands-down. This show is what Hamilton is to Broadway... Frida Will be the gift that gives itself to the world.

WOW! Such talent! We saw Eroica yesterday (Fri., May 23. 2025) evening. The weather was perfect, our seats were great, the music was stunning and the performance was exqusite. I haven't seen other big city ballet companys perform but I can't imagine that the dancers are any more athletic, talented, and beautiful than our Ballet Arizona! Thank you for sharing your talent with us at the Botanical Gardens!

One of the seats I purchased had a an obstructed view which was not indicated on the ticket, nor was the ticket cheaper than the rest of my tickets. I was unable to see the ballet clearly. When I emailed Ballet AZ to get a refund they said 'sorry no refunds'. If a seat has an obstructed view that should be indicated prior to purchase and it should not cost as much as the seats beside it. Overall the entire experience we a huge disappointment.

I have had the pleasure of seeing firsthand the quality of work Ballet Arizona has provided throughout the valley inspiring artists of all kinds to be creative through the high requirement of excellence in all they do. From the staff to the dancers, nothing is allowed less than excellence. If you get a chance to see any of their members performing from the school to company, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Performances to not miss: any Botanical Gardens performance, All Balanchine, Contemporary Moves, Coppéllia, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Today's Masters and Romeo & Juliet.

My husband and I have been season subscribers for several years and we have enjoyed each and every performance! The dancers are incredibly talented and a joy to watch! From the choreography to the costumes to the set decoration to the live orchestral music that accompanies each performance, everything is top notch and high quality thanks to an incredible crew of seasoned professionals working behind the scenes. Each season, they have several performances, including The Nutcracker, ballets from the creative genius George Balanchine, and new pieces unique to Ballet Arizona. If you've never been to a ballet performance, or it's been a while, give Ballet Arizona a try! You won't be disappointed! Please also consider donating! Ticket sales do not cover all of their expenses, so they rely on the generosity of their patrons and the community. We are proud supporters!

Just saw this years 2023 Nutcracker performance. It’s our family tradition but this year’s wasn’t great. The venue Phoenix Symphony Hall is amazing and beautiful and quite efficient. Parking right across the street for $15 was great. The performance was not sharp in sync and rushed. I first blame the conductor. He was waaaay in front of the dancers. They did their best to keep up but he certainly made it about himself rather than the dancers. There were a lot of substitutions so the crispness could have suffered from this. It happens. The leaps weren’t as strong as in the past and there wasn’t much continuity or connection between dancers/partners. It’s a beautiful piece but ballet is about strength and grace… and tonight’s performance lacked both. Don’t get me wrong they all were wonderful and if they continue on through next season together I believe triumph will prevail. Ms Ginger was/is always a highlight and tonight she did not let down. Just fun and terrific as were her Polly’s. The second act far exceeded the first. Maybe jitters but this isn’t high school musical people are paying $500-thousands so I find little excuse. If the Suns came out playing third rate they’d have drinks thrown at them. I absolutely believe you should go support the show. I believe you will be entertained. I’m being critical but again these are professionals not a dance class so I expect return on our investment. Tonight’s performance gives me pause as to continuing our tradition with this troupe. It will be interesting to see what others experience as the show goes forward. Best of luck to the artists. Get well soon and come back stronger than ever. Sickness happens however the conductor has no excuse. Look up and follow the dance it’s not your show. The music also wasn’t loud enough and the audience could hear every step. I’d also recommend to switch up the lobby a bit. It starts to take on a swap meet hocking product and begging for donations. I get it. But it gets tiring and ballet should be about class not product.

The people running this place are awful. They send me a 20% discount to buy tickets for swan lake, then have no option at checkout to enter the promo. After contacting support (who may has well been a bot) they gave me no help or suggestions on fixing the issue so I can get the discount which is the only reason why I decided to buy tickets. I will not buy anymore tickets or give anymore money to ballet Arizona. Very disappointed.

Symphony Hall is a nice venue. The opera singers for Aida were wonderful. The orchestra is fantastic. Adding the worst cartoon/AI movie/video game as a background to the singers and Orchestra was the worst and funniest thing I've seen on a long time. It was absolutely a terrible idea but thanks for the laugh during a tragedy. Seriously, we couldn't stop giggling. Please don't do that again. Too stupid and an insult to the talent of the performers. We, as well as many, many others, made our escape at intermission.

Amazing customer service provided by patron services! The Phoenix Symphony Hall is a great venue. If you’re under the age of 40, check out the BOLD program!
Amanda K — Google review
The performance of Aida with AI was terrible. Ruined it for us! Couldn't wait to the intermission to leave. We love the beauty of former operas. The sets, costumes, etc...The singers looked like they were sitting in a courtroom. If this is the future of Az. Opera we won't be attending anymore! If Zorro s going to be AI generated I would like a refund...Absolutely a disappointment and waste of my money.
Terry W — Google review
Just wonderful. The performers blew me away, I cried. The staff was welcoming and helpful. What a gem for Phoenix. We’ll be back!
R F — Google review
The use of AI for Aida was a complete disservice to the beautifully talented singers and musicians! AI generated visuals (not even related to Aida) as an entire backdrop movie was distracting; taking away any and all magic Aida had to offer. What a dishonor to Giuseppe Verdi, cast members, singers, and musicians! AI DOES NOT belong in Opera! 🥱
Derrick H — Google review
The singers were absolutely superb and the orchestra was great. The AI was a catastrophe. The Greek chorus that stared at the audience for the entire performance was unsettling and distracting. The at times random AI, that mixed paintings, animation, real life video and out of sync singing, along with the performers was truly a distraction. There are many more things to criticize, but the mixed epoch’s also was a distraction. While I won’t go so far as to say there is no role of AI in opera, this was not it. A really well crafted CGI approach with live actors interacting in that kind of set would’ve seemed more appropriate. The performers and Orchestra truly save this one.

First off, when I entered they told me I had to have my COVID vaccine card, which I was not told to bring prior. The staff and “crew” clearly did not wanna be there, and were very rude and upsetting. Then I bought a cookie, it was $15. So first very very very expensive, but the quality was HORRIBLE. I got very sick because of how bad it was. I payed so much for it to be chunky and not baked properly. To add on top, It made me so sick I had to use the restroom. BUT the toilets were BROKEN!!! My stomach was grumbling and hurt so bad. The drive home was horrible because of it, and when I got home I took the biggest dump OF MY LIFE!!! Next, it was SO dirty. When I walked in I saw how disgusting it was, there was an ant infestation. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since it was made. It got so bad I had to buy new shoes because I couldn’t clean them when I got home. I can tell nobody wants to work there and the cleaners clearly don’t do their job properly. And to top it off they all smell like garbage!!! The opera team was not kind whatsoever. And since I am on opera I am so about the art of kindness. But this was not nice whatsoever. I was ignored multiple times and, nobody would fix the restroom for me (You heard about that earlier). Overall this experience was a never again. I would not recommend to anybody especially if you have young children. Because they are NOT good with kids Here’s why, I have a 7 year old and 9 year old. I am a single mother and I brought them with me because I can’t afford babysitting. I told them to sit in the lobby, while I had a trial class. My kids are the most angelic, kind kids EVER. when I finished my hour trial they had bruises. I’m not sure if they fell or they were being hit by the staff. But when I got there the staff told me this, “Your kids need a smacking, please educate them more on how to be good children, because they were horrible and please never come back.” Like seriously??? Please do not come here. If you do good luck. Thank you!!!

Incredible hour and a half long tour of the historic Orpheum theater given by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers on Tuesday afternoons. They take you through the lobby, auditorium, balcony, backstage, and stage areas, all while explaining the history and inner workings of the theater and it's unique decor. A beautiful sight to behold and interesting to explore behind the scenes. Our group even had the pleasure of hearing the theater organ in action. This tour is free, wheelchair accommodating, and definitely worth attending when you have the time. RSVP online and give yourself extra time to find parking nearby!

The Orpheum is the most beautiful theater in the valley. Not only gorgeous but the acoustics are amazing! We have seen several shows here and it never cease to amaze. Red velvet seats, gold reliefs, hand painted murals and a gorgeous light show on the ceiling while you wait for your performance (clouds, shooting stars, moon phases, sunsets.) 100 years old, well preserved and beautiful. A real Phoenix gem!

Beautiful Venue! A classic and [supposedly] haunted, The Orpheum has an array of shows coming through there all the time. It's a more intimate theater, not small but, not huge comparatively. Plus, it's definitely easier to get to than a lot of venues downtown. Do love coming here for shows. (and the "live" ceiling with sky and clouds. Pretty magical)

The Phoenix Theatre Company is a historic arts organization in Arizona that has been showcasing world-class performances and premieres for over a century. Situated near the Phoenix Art Museum and Heard Museum, it offers a diverse lineup of classic and new productions each season. The theater provides an entertainment experience that caters to all generations, featuring Broadway-style shows accompanied by live pre-performance music, food, and drinks.
I recently saw Jersey Boys at the Phoenix Theatre Company, and let me tell you—it was electric! From the very first note to the final bow, the energy, talent, and heart on that stage were absolutely unmatched. I’ve been coming to this theater since 2008, and while the space has grown and evolved over the years, one thing has stayed the same: the pure magic that happens here. The actors are phenomenal, the crew runs a seamless show, and the staff always makes you feel like a welcomed guest at something truly special. Every production I’ve seen here has blown me away, but Jersey Boys had me dancing in my seat and singing all the way home. (Frankie Valli high notes included.) I didn’t even make it to the parking lot before I was already searching for tickets to their next production—Into the Woods! If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor: grab a ticket, dress up a little, and prepare to be amazed. The Phoenix Theatre Company is a true gem in the Valley and continues to prove that Broadway-level talent lives right here in Arizona!

Location is easy to find, and parking is close to the box office. The area is ADA friendly. There is a large wonderful garden to use as a backdrop for photos. To rehydrate whether via water or colorful alcoholic beverages, there is a bar with seating and small tables. Offered is the ability to buy a drink now and another for the intermission break. Since it's about a 30-yard walk between the theatre and the bar, you'll find your drink brought and just outside the entrance. What a wonderful idea! There are plenty of personnel to guide you to your seat. Be aware . you purchase a seat in the rear, and you'll be shoulder to shoulder with a stranger. However, to avoid that, there are seats with a small table closer to the stage. Attire was unusually casual. A light sweater wasn't needed. Restrooms were clean. What you need to know: a. The entire set up is conducive to everyone treating you as a valued person. b. Smile and staff will approach you. c. Drinks: are pricey. The four alcoholic drinks I purchased cost $60. d. Hang out: It's definitely worth arriving early 20 minutes to get your drinks (should you be with another), walk the garden, and leisurely get to your seats. e. Age range: I would say 50-upwards. If you're younger, try it out as you'll be welcomed and laugh. f. The audience, as well as the staff, were friendly. Always Smile and say Hello to a stranger, on that day, they may need it more than us.

We had an amazing time at The Phoenix Theatre Company's production of Frozen last night! The theatre was clean and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Every single detail was meticulously executed in the production of Disney’s Frozen Musical! We were extremely impressed with the execution and quality of the show. My husband and I just saw “The Roads to Loch Lomond” here. The theater was great. The actors were brilliant and this show was one of my favorites I have ever seen. I was moved to tears and adored every moment. Will come again for another show and I hope this one becomes a national success.

Nestled in the heart of Phoenix, Celebrity Theatre has been a beloved hub for live entertainment since its inception in 1963. This unique venue features a revolving circular stage that creates an intimate atmosphere, allowing audiences to enjoy performances from every angle. Over the years, it has hosted an impressive lineup of artists across various genres—from legendary musicians like Frank Zappa and Marvin Gaye to comedic talents such as Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Jeffries.
The incomparable Celebrity Theatre is one of the most, if not the most, iconic venues in the Valley of the Sun. With its center rotating stage, there's not a bad seat in the house. I've been to this venue on multiple occasions, and I've seen numerous acts perform here. The remodeled Rock & Roll decor works extremely well in the lounge. Extremely fast bar service. It's not the newest, nor is it the biggest venue, but they definitely know how to bring in the best entertainment the music industry has to offer.

My first time at The Celebrity to see Robin Trower. This is a pretty small place so every seat has a great view. The people at the door & the bartenders all seemed to be pretty nice. I do have two rather big issues with it though. The acoustics here are absolutely horrendous. The sound was muddy, the vocals were totally lost in the mix. Maybe its more that the guy at the soundboard is clueless, hard to say. Its was also extremely annoying that security people & Im not talking one or two, but probably around ten made a point of running around, shining flashlights at people & just basically ruining the show for everyone else. Considering how much it costs to see a show these days, that was not the experience I expected. I'll probably stick to the numerous other venues in the area

What a great place to watch live music. A classic theatre in the round which offers a great view and sound experience within 75 feet of the performers on stage. This is definitely a Phoenix jewel for events. On occasions the stage will actually rotate allowing the entire crowd to see the performers with a direct view. Very intimate setting.
Michael P — Google review
Always a good place to see a concert. Sometimes it is in the round and Sometimes it's not. Either way there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The bar tenders are legit with good pours every time. For being a 60 year old building it still leaves you with a smile after every show. The picture I provided were from LA Guns and Tom Keifer. This one was NOT in the round but I still had a great view of the stage and everything going on.

Really nice venue for a show all seats have a great view. We were there for Robin Trower. I was so happy to see him live the master of the six string. His music - guitar style will touch your soul. The two baby girl warm up band was super enjoyable. Thank you KSLX 100.7 for another really good show. If you like guitar music tune in and download the app. Listen and try to win stuff. I like free stuff, don't you?. Just tap the track or enter the code word it's that easy.

From start to finish, the experience at Celebrity Theatre for the Tony Hinchcliffe show was absolutely outstanding. Brianna and every single employee at the front and box office set the tone the moment we arrived. They were warm, professional, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. From helping with tickets and seating to making accommodations with ease, the entire staff made us feel taken care of in the best way possible. You could tell they truly cared about making the night enjoyable for everyone. The level of kindness and professionalism was far beyond what you’d expect—it honestly elevated the whole experience. Celebrity Theatre is already such a unique venue, but it’s the people like Brianna and the rest of the front staff who make it unforgettable. I can’t recommend this place enough and will absolutely be back for future shows.
Deandre W — Google review
I have been at this venue before for comedians but this was my first concert experience. I always thought that it would be too small for a concert but it was a perfect experience for us as fans. It made it a much more intimate experience. There was no bad seats as the stage keeps turning throughout the entire night. My wife loved it and of course I reaped the benefits.

Great concerts here! The staff is kind and helpful inside. This place needs remodeling/updating very badly. Smells absolutely disgusting inside. If you can’t afford the seats up front I suggest not going! The seats in the back are made for first grade students, not grown adults. If you know about these seats you know lol.

If you're looking for a delightful escape in Phoenix, the Great Arizona Puppet Theater is an enchanting destination that promises fun for both kids and adults. This charming venue, nestled in a beautifully restored church, offers a variety of puppet shows throughout the year. With performances tailored to younger audiences during mornings and afternoons, as well as adult-themed shows on Friday and Saturday nights, there's something for everyone. The theater serves around 85,000 visitors annually—mostly children—making it a beloved spot for family entertainment.
Adorable place. Ample room to bring in strollers. It's nice they put a carpet down in the front for little ones to sit criss cross and get a better view. Tons of puppets for sale in the lobby as you enter and exit. A few picnic tables outside. Dedicated parking lot.

This is a fun place to visit. Buy the premium seats so you have a better view because some of the puppet work is on the floor and not the stage.

I absolutely love this Phoenix gem! Every show I’ve brought my children to, over the last few years, has been engaging and creative. The puppeteer is wonderful and staff is friendly. I highly recommend this theatre for making family memories!

I saw the Jack-o'-lantern Jubilee with my 2-year old granddaughter. We both really enjoyed it. They are top-notch puppeteers. It's a variety show. The sketches were adorable.

This is a wonderful place to bring the children. They provide wonderful puppet performances and after the show they let show some of the puppets and how they work. My children and I love to come here.

We’ve gone to two shows so far and have loved them! I appreciate the museum quality of the lobby, being able to see the variety of puppets that have been used in the past. My son has been captivated by the shows and even before we finish clapping at the end of one show he asks when we can go see another.

I was very surprised by this! We watched the Little Red Hen! Small location, but everything was made with care. The lady that was doing the puppet show is simply amazing. How can someone make all those voices so fast? wow!! My boys want to be back for the Christmas show.
Estevao A — Google review
This was my first experience with adult puppet theater, and I won't return.I am fairly sure that the children's puppet theater is much better than last night's adult puppet slam! There were eight different acts. I enjoyed two of them, the ones by the professional visiting puppeteer from back east. The rest were either lame, bad, just okay, or much too long. However, the pink kitten and cathead puppets that were the MCs, were incredible. Beautiful old building with some interesting puppet displays. Glad we went once, but won't return.

Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) is a beloved 202-seat performing arts venue located in Downtown Phoenix. Established in 1989, it aims to empower young individuals through education in the performing arts. The theater hosts six mainstage shows each season and has been instrumental in launching the careers of renowned performers like Emma Stone.
People of all ages can appreciate these productions! The professionalism of the cast, crew, musicians, set design, lighting, and sound are most impressive. My teenage granddaughter and I have season tickets!

I took my daughters & granddaughters to the 8/12-2:00 Saturday matinee. This is a must see for young & old. The talent & chemistry of Ella & Topher were delightful as well as their duets. Gabrielle duet with Ella also notable & ladies chorus with Charlotte ( step sister lament ) But Jessica Jacoby was amazing. Her poise & spot on vocals could land her leads on Broadway. Everyone in show was terrific and did a fabulous job making our afternoon a memory we will never forget !

The Tempe Improv Comedy Theater is a popular spot for laughs with a full menu and bar service. The theater is known for hosting comedians from all over the country and internationally, as well as having an extensive lineup of local comics. There are also trivia nights, comedy troupes, and live music events hosted by the theater.
Took my mom here for the Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson show and we had a blast! Such a fun and comfortable environment. There’s a two drink minimum and I don’t drink but thankfully they have non alcoholic options. Our server was great and attentive. We did the meet and greet option after the show and it was so much fun.
Nicole A — Google review
The staff was super friendly! Seating was tight, but not as bad as the location in Phoenix. It seemed like anywhere in the house would have good visibility. There is a 2 drink minimum and they aren't really able to customize drinks (for example, there is a pina colada on the menu but you can't get it without alcohol). Two sodas (not on the menu) will run you about $15 plus taxes and tip. Traffic and parking are hectic, but parking is right by the venue and free. We arrived about 30 minutes early and didn't have to wait to be seated. It's really fun to get to see shows in these intimate venues!
Jasmine A — Google review
It takes a lot for me to write a negative review. Normally, I’d just move on and never return. But this one feels necessary, almost a public service. What happened at Tempe Improv wasn’t just bad service; it was bullying disguised as “policy.” And no one deserves to experience that kind of dehumanization. I actually feel bad for the performers who play here, because the management’s lack of empathy creates an atmosphere that stifles connection, the very thing live comedy is supposed to bring out. We’ve been to Tempe Improv before, so we knew about the rigid seating “system,” the two-drink minimum (for overpriced drinks), and the tight, shared tables. None of that was new. But this last visit to support a comedian known for advocating human rights was so painfully ironic that we left before the show even started, after being threatened by management. We arrived early, an hour and a half before showtime, to enjoy food and drinks and support the venue. Our waiter and his trainee were kind and attentive. Then, we had a couple of friends arrive about an hour before the show. The staff at the host stand refused to seat them near us, even though the entire theatre was still empty. When we asked why, we were met with sharp, dismissive attitudes instead of simple communication. We accepted the policy and decided to stand and chat near our friends’ section still well before showtime. A staff member came by, asked if we planned to return to our seats, and when we said yes, she walked away without another word. Minutes later, a short, aggressive manager came up and interrupted our conversation — not to clarify, but to threaten. His words: “You need to go back to your seat or leave.” Leave? For standing in an empty theatre 30 minutes before a show? When I asked why he was being so hostile, he doubled down, saying that once you’re seated, you’re not allowed to move. News to us. Nowhere in their pre-show announcements or policies does it say you must remain seated for 90 minutes before a show or risk being kicked out. We had already paid for tickets, food, and drinks. Yet instead of treating us like guests (or even humans) we were treated like a problem to be controlled. And that’s really the heart of it: Businesses built on rigid systems instead of basic human respect will fail. This isn’t just about one bad manager. It’s about a culture that prioritizes control over care, and policies over people. A place meant for laughter and connection shouldn’t be run with hostility and fear. Tempe Improv has lost something valuable: the trust and goodwill of the people who come to celebrate art, community, and joy. We came to support an artist who stands for human dignity — and left because we weren’t shown any ourselves.
Tiffany B — Google review
Overall the show experience was lovely. Server was nice, and performer was incredible. The venue felt tiny and jam packed. You’re seated shoulder to shoulder and if you get a front row seat, you will not be able to use the bathroom period dot. Drinks were RIDICULOUSLY priced. I got ONE mixed drink, 2 cokes, a water, and some pretzels. The total $75 with 15% tip. I know they make it very clear there is a 2 drink minimum, but non alcoholic drinks being equally as expensive as alcohol at other places is insane. Go to see your favorite performers, but expect to pay a heavy fee on top of your tickets.
Jaydah R — Google review
It was so funnnn! The staff is so nice and helpful, and we had a blast. A bit pricey considering there's a 2 drink minimum on top of already buying tickets, but the atmosphere is nice.
Amber C — Google review
Had a great time, handicap parking is very limited but was able to find decent parking. Seating was good, food was typical bar/comedy show food. Biggest issue was a better beer selection with the requirement of a 2 drink minimum l.
Beau G — Google review
Tempe Improv is hands down one of the best spots around for a proper laugh night out. The venue feels well executed, intimate but with enough capacity so feel of a live show, and the sound, lighting, and stage flow are strong. They bring in quality comedic talent (from local acts to well-known names) and mix in themed shows like ‘Comedy Madness’ that keep things fresh and entertaining. Food is above typical club fare, the bar menu is solid, and the 2-drink minimum is fair considering the experience. The atmosphere combines energy and laid-back comfort, making nights here feel special without being over the top. Always a reliable pick when you want entertainment + great laughs.
Jean W — Google review
If I could give zero, I would. Came to watch Bassem Youssef show on Saturday . Extremely rude staff at the front from hostess to manager. Our waiter Jacob was amazing and did his best to accommodate us, but we were denied by owe in the front desk to sit with our friends only to let another couple that came afterwards sit with them. No apologies, no desire to help or attempt to be nice, by far, the worst customer experience. I asked the manager Micah about his name and he said he would not give me his name and he didn’t have to. Appalling behavior is un understatement .

This is one of our favorite "happy places"! Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, unique and fun events, educational support for our own plants, and so many more things are what keep us coming back. It has something for everyone. Some of our favorite things so far have been getting married here, enjoying the yearly Boo-tanical Garden with the kids, having regular date days/nights here, and attending their plant sales. The restaurant and cafe are delicious, and the gift shop always has something worth taking home. We absolutely love the Desert Botanical Garden and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night, family time, or even just some "me time".

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could! The Desert Botanical Garden is absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. Every trail and exhibit is thoughtfully designed, and you can really see the care that goes into keeping everything in top shape. The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable; they were happy to answer questions and share insights about the plants and desert landscape. It’s such a peaceful and inspiring place to explore, whether you’re a local or just visiting. There’s also a restaurant on site that feels like fine dining without being stuffy. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing, and they cater to a wide range of dietary needs. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot in Phoenix.

The botanical garden is a must visit. The trails are no lesser than any state park/national park. The gathering tours were really informative. The staff is friendly. Gift store is so beautiful. There are water stations every now and there. Hydration is not all a problem. Loved watching butterflies and hummingbirds in the butterflies trail. Saguaros are unique.

Must experience. Absolutely beautiful. We were fortunate to arrive after the monsoonal rains. Everything was green and blooming. We arrived a little before sunset, so we're able to see the gardens during the day, at sunset with a beautiful Arizona sky, and the gardens lit at night. The Botanical garden is open till 9:00 pm. If you have a layover at Phoenix Airport, the gardens aren't very far away. I would encourage anyone younger old to take time to visit.

The park is lovely. I went later in the afternoon at the end of October and it was still very warm. You can bring your own water bottle to fill at multiple filtered water stations - water comes out cold. Bring sunglasses, water bottle, sunblock and a hat. Gift shop is very nice.

The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is absolutely incredible! I was blown away by the breathtaking views—towering saguaros and colorful cacti create this surreal, almost magical desert landscape. There are so many cool cactuses, from spiky barrels to funky agaves, and I loved wandering the shaded trails snapping photos. It’s super peaceful, like a total escape from the city, with hummingbirds zipping around adding to the calm. The paths are easy to navigate, and the sunset glow on the red buttes was unreal. It’s about $40 to enter, but worth every penny for the curated beauty. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves nature or just wants a chill, inspiring outing. Bring water if it’s warm, and go early for fewer crowds. I’m already excited to come back!

I was somehow expecting an overpriced patch of sand with a few saguaro cactus in it. I instead found a magnificently curated and highly developed garden featuring the huge diversity of plant life to be found in a seemingly empty desert space. There is a surprising amount of beautiful garden infrastructure and architecture in place that enhances an enchanting desert experience. This is a totally morthwhile experience and it's a mere three miles from a major airport. It could not be more convenient. This garden is a participant in a National Garden.Reciprocity program so is easily accessible in terms of admission cost. My local garden card gave me access to this beautiful place at no cost

Phoenix Art Museum is a must-visit destination in the Southwest United States, featuring an extensive collection of international art spanning from ancient times to contemporary pieces. Housed in a remarkable Modernist building, partially designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the museum boasts over 20,000 works of art, including masterpieces by renowned artists such as Diego Rivera, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Frida Kahlo. Visitors can also enjoy traveling exhibits and explore the popular Thorne Miniature Rooms.
We visited on a Wednesday to take advantage of the pay what you want/donation entry cost which is a nice setup from 3 to 8 p.m. We enjoyed our time browsing the varied art works on the second floor, spending a little over an hour to view the majority of the pieces up there. Will have to make another trip to view the other areas within the museum though. A very interesting trip, even for someone who’s not a big museum fan.

Extraordinary museum. Their collections are excellent! There's something for everyone here. We spent a long time chatting with docent Alice in the Baroque exhibit. I learned so much. It was a fascinating conversation. All the employees and volunteers here are friendly. The gift shop is fun, too. So many interesting exhibits! Anna Sui is featured now and it was so impressive to see her unique, artistic style in the many examples of her clothing designs! Worthy of a visit just for this. After this fun and entertaining showing, we made our way to a serious, thought provoking exhibit on immigration. Don't miss the sheer panels imprinted with the names of the people who did not make it across the desert from Mexico to the US! Helps to make you realize every name listed was a real living, breathing, person just trying to get somewhere better to live and prosper... Add in all of the other halls with more art representing all different media and you have a great place to spend a few hours on a hot summer day in Phoenix!

The building itself is an architectural treat to enjoy. The collection is varied with some interesting items, but it also seems small compared to other art museums its size. We also did not find what was offered to be as compelling as other exhibitions. Overall, still glad we came and enjoyed what was there.

Wow. The Anna Sui exhibit was absolutely fascinating. If you’re into fashion, I highly recommend visiting this exhibit in the Phoenix Art Museum before it is done in September. The wings of this museum are gorgeous. I really enjoyed the photo gallery on the top floor and the Anna Sui fashion exhibit. The presence of these exhibits really set the phoenix art museum apart from other art museums I’ve visited. Great place for an afternoon with family or friends; also ideal to escape the sun and enjoy art from various eras ✨

Have been here several times over the years and I really appreciate the main collection. The collection of American art, specifically the art of the southwest, is inspiring. The special exhibitions are usually always good too. I have wanted to see Avedon's work in person for years and was thrilled when they recently brought some of his images to the museum. I loved the Anna Sui exhibition and their focus on fashion has been evident over the years... it's a fun time. Worth the drive from east mesa.

I went here with my toddler and I was pretty disappointed with their lack of family friendliness. There is no kids section. I like that Wednesdays are a pay what you want day, and the staff were kind and not too harsh when reminding me and my kid about being safe around the art. For example I had a backpack for my baby bag, and they have a policy about keeping it on one shoulder to avoid hitting art behind you. Totally understandable and they were very kind about it. My kid played with the ropes at one point and they asked him not to. But they did it in such a kind way I didn't feel like I was being scolded. It's a great was to escape the heat during the summer, and I appreciate that it's open because there's a lot of museums that go under renovation this time of year. They have a cafe, but it closes pretty early (4:30 I think?) so we missed it. TLDR; Not kid friendly, but great staff and AC.

The Arizona Science Center is a dynamic 5-story hub of scientific exploration and entertainment. Visitors can immerse themselves in interactive exhibits that delve into the human body, mind, and various scientific phenomena. The center boasts a planetarium and an IMAX theater for captivating shows. From simulated natural disasters to hands-on displays showcasing mechanical and electrical principles, guests can engage with the forces of nature and renewable energy concepts.
We’ve been visiting the Arizona Science Center for years, and it never disappoints. They regularly feature different showcased exhibits throughout the year, keeping each visit fresh and exciting. One section we always appreciate is the Reduced, Reused, Recycled area—an engaging and important reminder of how we can all help conserve resources. The gemstones and natural elements displays are another highlight, showcasing fascinating specimens from Arizona and beyond. The center is full of hands-on activities—from sound experiments to weight distribution challenges, and even the thrill of riding a bike across a tightrope. The planetarium is always a standout for us—beautiful, immersive, and worth the extra cost. The 3D movie theater is also well-kept and enjoyable. We also love that they offer the Blue Star Museums program for military members and veterans—ID holders plus up to six guests get free entry (planetarium admission not included). The gift shop is reliably interesting, with unique finds every time, and the on-site restaurant usually serves really good food (though last time we visited it was under construction). Whether it’s a date night, an outing with friends, or a fun family adventure, the Arizona Science Center is a place we’re always happy to return to. Highly recommended!

We love using the ASTC Passport Program when we travel. This is the first museum we visited on the ASTC Passport Program that we had to pay for a family member to get in. It was total chaos on a Friday afternoon with school field trips attending the museum. We had a hard time using the elevator and not having our service dog get touched. Be aware the SkyBike costs money to do. We didn’t realize until my son had already waited in line for 30mins. It’s less than $10 to experience something pretty unique. The kids liked the health section and the poison exhibits the most. Fun afternoon at the Science Museum- happy we took a moment of our trip to experience.

We bought actual passes for our grandkids almost a year ago. We've been to the science center and average of about once per month. The kids love coming. They validate parking, so it costs $1 to park. Today there was an event, and the signs for parking said $40. After validation, it was $1. Also with the membership, you're able to come one hour early at 930am. That's been really nice, because for the first hour, there aren't a lot of people there. Recommended.

Great time for my family! My almost 5 year old really enjoyed our time here the other day. There are three levels of exhibits ranging from the human body, physics, and a special temporary exhibit on poison. My daughter enjoyed engaging with the different exhibits and looking at everything. She was super excited! The exhibits are really good at helping kiddos understand the different concepts in a more hands-on way. I will say that some exhibits seemed to have seen better days. I hope they freshen these exhibits up soon to create a better experience for the kids in the future. The planetarium is temporarily closed until October — they renovated and reimagined it so we will absolutely be back for it!

Have been before and had a great time however this visit a lot of the exhibits were broken. We primarily went to see the planetarium which is very nice but thought we'd stroll through the rest of the museum. My kids were pretty disappointed that so much of the interactive museum hasn't been maintained well.

What in the PBS 1998 outdated museum is this? It's nostalgic for millennials and older, but needs some serious upgrades to its graphics, videos, and displays for being a so called "Science Museum". 6 displays were out of order. The only saving grace is it's traveling displays and it's live science presentations. Other than that I can't see coming here every 5 years.

We checked in and had dinner prior to the Suns game, and I must say, I was impressed with their beer selection and menu. Their entrees and apps we bold and flavorful. The waitresses were beautiful, attentive, and friendly. Local live music was in occurrence, and the entirety of our experience was enjoyable and memorable.

I made a reservation for eight through Yelp, and when I showed up, the hostess advised that they don't use Yelp. And so, that's how it started. I was disappointed and frustrated, but our waitress made it work and got us a few high-top tables as well as grabbed a bunch of chairs. The drinks came out fast, but the food was slow coming out. They didn't bring out our food all at once, so that was weird. Their parmesan truff fries were HELLA good, and our waitress was super sweet, personable, and attentive. The live band was great, and our night ended on a good note. Mahalo nui loa. ❤️

What a fun bar and restaurant this is!! They seem to have a lot of live music events daily. We ended up going to an Emo Nite with a cover band playing that night. The vibes were great and we had a blast. They also had some specialty drinks that night (I don’t drink alcohol but my friends did.) It’s a nice set up where there were some space to dance around our tables closer to the stage. I definitely recommend this for a live music venue in downtown Phoenix.

Copper Blues is an absolute gem in Phoenix! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a vibrant atmosphere that’s perfect for a night out. The live music is always top-notch, creating an ambiance that's both lively and fun. The bar is massive, and the drink selection is impressive. If you're a fan of mezcal, you have to try their cocktails – they’re not only delicious but also adorable. The outdoor-indoor patio is a dream, especially with the misting system that makes it so refreshing even on the hottest days. Service here is fantastic, with friendly and attentive staff who make sure you have everything you need. Whether you’re there for the music, the drinks, or just to relax on the patio, Copper Blues is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Don't do it. There are so many better places to see a show. We went to see a comedian. After, we learned they did 6 shows there that day. It's not the comedian's fault that after the 5 there was something lacking. AND we could not actually look at the performer because the tables are all perpendicular to the stage. Add all that to a venue which overdoes the 2 watered drink minimum a bad food (just charge me and let me eat if I like). I've now heard from some people in the preforming industry that this place is known to be hostile to performers. So if you like the person you want to see, or if you like yourself, there are SO much better places. GO THERE.

Plenty of nice drinks with good music and for me personally the food is awesome. Truffle fries are a way to my heart and they do them great here. My girlfriend and I like coming here often and we think it’s a nice bar to spend some time in with friends! There’s a cool stand up comedy spot next door too. Definitely would recommend this place if you wanted to find a good place to go out and drink with some friends.

Symphony Hall in downtown Phoenix is a versatile performing arts venue that hosts various renowned organizations, including the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, and Ballet Arizona. The hall features over 2,300 seats with wood bases for improved acoustics. It serves as the home of the Phoenix Symphony, which offers a diverse range of performances from classical Beethoven symphonies to Disney in Concert events featuring beloved movie scores accompanied by singalong opportunities and dress-up themes.
Jurassic World was so fun to see at the Phoenix Symphony! I definitely recommend and can’t wait for other shows to attend to 🤗 it was our first time and my kids loved it! Everyone is super nice the only bad thing is we had to pay $20 for parking but it’s ok we really enjoyed the show. By the way they do a metal detector check at entry and you can take any small purse doesn’t need to be clear. We also took water bottles but they can’t be opened before entry. Orchestra is magnificent and super fun to hear and watch, definitely makes the movie 1000x more exciting ☺️

Blew me away. I sm so glad I checked out The Mozart/Mahler concert🥰🥰🥰..Wow..the soprano Liv Redpath was a true songbird whose voice left you enraptured. The conductor Alex Amsel was perfection and of course the orchestra🥰🥰🥰...if you are looking for a high cultural experience this is as good as it gets. In NYC where I'm from the same ticket would have cost me 5 times the price and the level of sophistication and quality is indistinguishable. This is a true gem. The lobby is also quite beautiful, the indigenous tapestry on the walls was an unexpected decadence. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🏆🏆🏆

I’ve been to at least a half dozen performances here and it really is a great venue. The staff are always friendly and there’s lots of concession stands/bars so you can quickly get a drink. The chandeliers are beautiful too ✨The only downside (which is a personal opinion) is that downtown is so crowded and parking is expensive so that is kind of annoying.

Review: Phoenix Symphony Hall - A World-Class Experience The Phoenix Symphony Hall offers an absolutely beautiful and clean venue that sets the stage for an exceptional evening. Visually, the hall is strikingly modern and well-maintained, creating a great first impression. It is also very easy to navigate, making the patron experience effortless from entry to exit. Amenities and Concessions: The beverage selection is truly a highlight. There is an amazing adult beverage selection, paired with plenty of coffee and non-alcoholic options as well. The current vendors are decent, but adding a few more quick food items or snacks would be a welcome enhancement to the overall experience. The Performance: The Sound is the Star: The ultimate crowning achievement—the cherry, whip cream, and sprinkles on top—is the unforgettable quality of the sound. The venue's acoustics are perfectly showcased by incredible musicians and vocalists. The entire performance feels expertly curated, driven by the direction of passionate, knowledgeable, and well-versed maestros. Attending an event here is a sensory delight, blending beautiful architecture with world-class artistry.

AMC DINE-IN Esplanade 14 offers a luxurious movie experience with comfortable recliner seats and on-demand service. The extensive menu includes cocktails, beer, wine, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. While the chairs may not have traditional leg supports, they are still comfortable for enjoying the latest blockbusters. The theater is clean with helpful staff and a cool bar. Although prices are high, it's worth it for the overall experience.
We really enjoyed this theatre. It was bright and clean and I didn’t mind that to purchase movie tickets or food you are using a kiosk. After placing your food order you must include your theatre and seat number and the food is brought directly to you by a server. I have never been to a theatre that does this so I thought that was pretty cool. I loved the way that the seats in the theatre were staggered. They were in smaller clusters so you do not have to walk through a long row of people to get to your seats. The building surrounding the theatre is undergoing construction so there is a lot of unfinished work and the escalator was not functional.
Mela M — Google review
are we serious right now. every time i have the misfortune of getting tickets for this theater i forget that it’s the worst viewing experience on earth due to the walls blocking half the screen. if im paying 16 dollars for a movie i should only be charged 8 here because i can only see the top half of it. i can’t believe this hasnt been fixed yet, everyone i know hates coming here for the same reason. whoever designed this theater cheated on their architecture degree. please fix this
Sydney H — Google review
So happy I paid for middle-center seats to avoid things blocking my view! Best part was that nothing mentioning the safety railing being there on the website. I'm 6' tall btw.. Also, the seats don't recline and they squeak like crazy, cool!
Ganyu O — Google review
This is a nice theater. Clean and convenient to great shopping and restaurant options. The eat in dining menu is pretty tasty too.
Heidi O — Google review
Terrible experience. Hard to even get into the theatre. Once there, we ordered our food from a kiosk with a staff member nearby who literally could care less to say hello or help us. This place is run by teenagers who are too busy socializing to offer any level of customer service. Waited 30 minutes and my popcorn and drink never arrived. Had to track down someone to help which was a task. The theatre felt stale and gross. The seats were nasty, uncomfortable, and squeaking every time we moved. I will never return to this theatre. Didn’t realize AMC had gone so downhill.
Krissy W — Google review
The first time I went, I loved it. The seats were black and comfortable. This time, I went for my birthday, but not as much. The seats were red. You can tell they're old, and they're so uncomfortable. I didn't enjoy the movie because of it. I got free popcorn, but it wasn't hot; some were a bit stale. I'd expect more since it's in a nicer area.
Yaya L — Google review
Where am I? Where do I park? Did MC Escher design the parking garage? What happened to the elevator? Why is parking $12 on a Sunday night when this appears to be a vacant office building? How do I LOCATE AMC, much less enter it? Why did the food ordering kiosk time out with no further instructions to begin again, etc? Why was there a wall so high in front of row F in theatre 1 that I couldn’t see the bottom of the screen? (Who knew there were subtitles?) Never again.
Chris M — Google review
I hated so much of my experience here. From the staff that didn't care, to the snacks unable to be ordered. The filthy bathrooms. Uncomfortable, sticky and squeaky seats. And just the worst location. I wish I hadn't given them my money. Go to any other theater. The drive in. Heck, stay home and rent. Anything other than here.

Lounge
Crescent Ballroom, located in downtown Phoenix and established in 2011, is a popular destination for music enthusiasts looking for an intimate and diverse experience. The venue hosts local and touring musical acts in its cozy space while also being home to Cocina 10 Kitchen and Lounge. This Mexican restaurant offers Arizona-inspired cuisine with homemade recipes, vegetarian options, tapas, tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, and even a not-so-secret vegan menu.
One of my favorite concert venues in the valley, it's smaller than most venues but is still spacious even when sold out. There are multiple AC units along with fans so the room is very comfortable even when sold out. The bar has good options and pricing is reasonable. Also the front is a restaurant with really good Mexican food for before the show, or during the show if you want. The kitchen is behind the concert hall so you'll see trays of food going across the room, but it doesn't obstruct the show at all. And no matter where in the room you are, you have a great view of the stage. The merch area is nicely off to the side, so it's easy to access without fighting your way through the crowd. Overall, a great venue!

Crescent Ballroom is such a downtown Phoenix gem and a great venue to catch live shows and get an intimate music experience with great sound! Drinks are descent. And I love that they always have accessible water stations and a couple of bathroom options for easier access during congested times and live shows.

First time there last week to watch The Waterboys. The place is really cool and very intimate, pretty good layout (it's kind of long and narrow) and the sound was perfect. There's a bar at the entrance and another one in the ballroom. Good drinks, good service, bathroom was clean and most of all - The Waterboys rocked!

The venue offers validated parking for the first three hours at nearby lots, making it convenient for visitors. Adjacent to Cooper Blues, guests can enjoy pre-show drinks or live music after the comedy gig.
Won a giveaway to a sold out show to see Nurse John and it was amazing! The vibes were great as well as the service and food for how hectic it gets in there. Those servers are A1! Our food tasted so good as someone who has never been but will definitely be back for future shows.

A complaint I have about the seating is not how close you’re packed next to people, it’s how impossible it is to find a comfortable angle to sit at. The way the side seating is aligned with the stage forces you to twist and turn your torso/neck in an awkward way. I was struggling to find a comfort position to watch the show at. People seated across from me were unable to see the video projected on the wall because the big curtain was blocking it. I’m not sure if it was a bit but there was an employee taking payments near the end of the show who started shouting at the performer. He was “letting him know to do the thing” and Conner seemed confused and frustrated at the interruption for something he said he was already planning on doing. Also I wish they made the entrance to this venue even slightly obvious. It wasn’t explained in the email confirming your tickets, they just show you where paid parking is lol. We walked around too! We looked for a good 10 minutes trying to think where we could go to lead us to the correct spot. We only figured it out when these kind dudes came up to us after finally founding it and lead us there. The seating is intimate to the performer which I enjoy. I would come back to this venue now that I know how it works. For my first comedy show, it was awesome.
Charlie — Google review
Service was very slow in the VIP section. Watched many people get service before us even though we were sat prior. Then she spilled 3 different drinks on my wife. Luckily 2 if them were waters, but she had wet pants through the whole show. Seating is packed quite tight for my personal liking the the show itself was great. The food was very good as well. Be careful with paying for meet and greet, it is just a line of people who rush to the stage get a pic and rushed off.
Matthew O — Google review
Entrance is not well marked for those new to the area. I’m sure it’s been explained in reviews previous to this, but hopefully one more pointing out this flaw will help it be addressed. The venue is on the second story above Copper Blues Rock Pub. Take a look at the pictures for a view from the entrance. Approaching from the East you’ll cross the light rail tracks. Jefferson St should be to your left, Washington St to your right. If you’re at the Geographical Center of Phoenix Arizona (look it up), you’re in the right spot. Copper Blues is just west of the tracks and the stairs leading up to the second story are just west of that. Once you go up the stairs, don’t go straight (that leads to 800 Entertainment). Instead make a right u-turn and walk forward towards the bar. You’ve made it! Now you can enjoy the live entertainment, great service, and decent food. Cheers!

Fun Sunday evening show. Saw Nikki Glaser and the place was sold out! She was hilarious and we had a great time! The lounge holds about 600. The entry process was smooth and the staff was helpful. Food is ok and drinks a little pricey. They validate parking which is nice!

First time here. We had front row tickets to see Bill Bellamy. Grrat show with 3 comedians before the main guy. All were worth the money for the tickets. Drinks were of course way over priced. BUT....THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND CAME OUT QUICK. Our server was very nice and helpful. Great experience, will return soon

I ordered tickets online to go to Stand Up Live on Oct. 3rd, 2025 at 9:45pm to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. I was staying at the Residence Inn by Downtown Phoenix, so I didn't need to worry about parking. It was a quick five minute walk to the venue, and we were seated promptly after our tickets were checked. When my partner and I arrived, we were each given a two-drink minimum, where we needed to order at least two drinks during the event- which wasn't something I was particularly happy about. I understand it's good for business, but I just had dinner where I already drank quite a bit and wasn't trying to have more. It was unfortunate to miss bits and pieces of the performance from rushing to restroom several times because I had to order something after drinking beforehand. Additionally, our server hadn't come to our table for a very long time for us to order our second drinks, so that was a bit frustrating. I completely understand how busy it can be on a Friday night, but I have to be honest as this can be a detriment to other people who want to visit this place. Fortunately, the servers were very kind and patient, not just to us but to other people who had entered the event late or were struggling to choose what to order. The venue itself looked nice and clean, with our seats having a good view of the stage. The restroom just a few steps away nearby a karaoke bar. The comedian of the night, Arnez J, was a great choice for a fun night out. He was hilarious, and even had my partner- who's normally pretty serious- bending over in hysterics. Stand Up Live was an excellent choice to let loose with your spouse and/or friends. It could use a bit more polish as far as service goes, but it doesn't hurt to spend a few more dollars for a unique and bonding experience.
Jennie I — Google review
Spent a fun night out here with my girlfriend and some friends. Got to see Vinny from Jersey Shore perform here as well as another comedian who I’m sorry to for forgetting their name but had a genuinely good time! The venue is a good size and the food can be yummy. Wasn’t too big a fan of the pretzels though and the two drinks minimum rule because although I get you might want to drink at a comedy show, I was sick that weekend and wished I didn’t have to waste some money on two drinks I didn’t want. Other than that though, it was definitely enjoyable and would recommend to others!

It’s not just about shows; this center also plays host to festivals and educational programs that engage both locals and visitors alike.
Great concert venue. The rows are high enough above each other that the person in front of you shouldn't block your view of the stage. This is the view from H1.

I have been to several music events at this venue. The sound is outstanding! The venue has an intimate seating arrangement, allowing for excellent viewing from any seat. My one complaint is that the seating chart needs to identify a wall that blocks the outside seats, and you can not exit into the aisle. You must walk back across all the seats into the interior aisle to exit.

This post is way over due, but here it is. I attended the Randy Travis Tribute. I use a wheelchair part time and bought a regular seat. At the time of my purchase I was not using my chair. The week of the show I had a flare up but I was not about to miss seeing one of my favorite artists. So, I showed up early and spoke with staff. The show was sold out. However, they were so sweet and accommodating. Someone from staff sat me and took my chair to a safe spot. I was even given a cell number if I needed my chair at any point during the show. I was so impressed with the kindness and assistance I received. I will definitely come back for future events here. The staff is amazing and the facility is very nice. Thank you to everyone, including all of the patrons who assisted me to my seat. You were all angels.

The Rhythm Room is a beloved music venue in Phoenix that has been hosting live blues and jazz performances for over 20 years. This cozy, no-frills club features top-notch local and national acts almost every night, drawing crowds of music lovers who can't resist hitting the dance floor or tapping their toes to the raw-edged tunes.
If you are a true music person The Rhythm Room is one of the best spots to listen to outstanding musicians. I've read some of the negative feedback on here. Yes it is a small venue, yes it can get crowded. If you are concerned about having seats arrive early and wait outside in line to ensure you get a seat. I've seen at least 10 shows here, the place can't be beat. If you are super bougie and don't want to be close to people go listen to music at an outdoor festival.... If you want to support hard working musicians playing great music in an intimate setting this is your spot! Oh and the drinks and service are always on point.

Short: Small intimate music venue with basic bar. No pool tables or other bar-type activities other than a micro dance floor and low band stage. I would come back for a punk or hardcore show specifically because of the sound system and venue size

I need to start this by saying the concert I went to was AWESOME and the venue itself was pretty good too. If you are 21 or older there is an area (the bar) that you can hang out at and it has a sort of “VIP” feel to it. The bar is nice and has great prices as well as unique options. The relatively smaller size of the venue made for a very close and energetic vibe which everybody seemed to love. The only poor part of this experience was the service. When we asked for water from the bar tender, they told us “there’s water right there” then proceeded to point at an almost empty jug of water that was put out for the kids that were moshing hard at this event. When I say kids, I mean children. Almost everybody at this event was around the age of 16 it seemed. Those kids needed that water so they wouldn’t pass out, we just wanted cold water. Which we felt we deserved after tipping over 20$ for just a couple rounds of drinks for 2 people. To top that, when a different employee went to refill the water jug, he stopped in front of the kids with the jug to intentionally torment the kids who were literally on the edge of passing out. The security guard was also nothing great as he just sat there and unintentionally let a handful of kids through to the bar. Seemed like a bit of an unorganized and heartless staff.

They have a DJ who stirs up the enthusiasm from an already excited crowd as well as playing music over the commercials, and he announced birthdays of several people there. They had a raffle for Chiefs swag. A bucket of 5 Buds was $15. I didn't see a food menu but the DJ would announce pizza deliveries -- because pizza and football go hand in hand. How cool is that? They have Kilt Lifter, Blue Moon and others on tap. It was great fun to be with other Chiefs fans. Most of the patrons were wearing Chiefs jerseys. I wore my Home Sweet Mahomes tshirt. Mahomes was brilliant and led the Chiefs to another victory. I met a bunch of friendly K.C. transplants, too. It was the best.

One of if not the best intimate live music venue. Sound is awesome amd so evenly distributed throughout the whole venue, even outside. Bartenders are cool and fast. Love this place no matter what the band playing is it's a great place to go.

Awesome show and venue! Kyle Smith rocked it and it was a pleasure getting to meet the band! My videos won't do any justice but the sound was absolutely dialed in and you could hardly tell that a night club moved in right behind them! Enjoy, this is Kyle Smith.

Great little venue. Needs better parking and a bigger stage crowd area. 😆. Overall the sound was excellent and really well run sound board. Your sound guy for Red Leather show did a excellent job. The bartender was quick and personable. The drinks were reasonably priced. I had a wonderful time and would definitely attend a future event here. Security was very respectful and friendly and did not feel the need to perform full body cavity searches on everyone so the line moved quickly when doors opened.

If any of your favorite bands end up playing at this place it is amazing. Super small venue and it's not super crowded bartenders work their butt off and everybody else that works there is super nice.

A very cool, little bar in Phoenix that just happens to host some of the best music talent in America. Love the vibe. You and maybe 100 (it really is that small) of your fellow music lovers get to spend time with future and current stars.

BS West, a long-standing LGBTQ+ hotspot in Old Town Scottsdale, has been a favorite among the gay and lesbian community since 1988. The bar features two bars, patios, lounges, and a dance floor where patrons can enjoy lively weeknight specials like Wicked Wednesdays and Drunk Karaoke. The weekly Element: Drag Show on Fridays showcases local drag queens performing to hits from artists like Madonna and Britney Spears.
This place is pretty cool. Went with a group of friends last night. I ordered an old fashioned but it was bad, the bartender asked my opinion and I gave him my honest feedback. I had beers for the rest of the night and the service was great. The atmosphere was good and we had a lot of fun! Karaoke was going on and everyone did great. I’m sure we’ll back!

Really enjoyed our first visit, not a big place, off the beaten path, decent drinks for the price. Every table was reserved, we just stopped in for a quick drink and couldn't sit down, not a single person showed up to occupy the tables before we left. More of a club space than a quick stop for a drink.

There was a fun show on Wednesday night. Mostly men, there were gorgeous go go male dancers and a drag show. It would have been more fun going with a group of people.

Fantastic experience! I went with a friend for one of their bogo Wednesday nights and everyone was so nice and kind. The dancers were amazing and I appreciated that the bartender kept checking in on us through the whole night. Hope to be back soon!

The drag shows are entertaining. I would say that the shows here trump Charlie's. However, the environment is not as good as Charlie's. I wish there were more employees watching the crowd. I've seen some people be cut off, but I've also seen someone who should have been kicked out. There is a cover charge after 9:30pm, but it's worth it because you get a free drink when you walk in when you pay the cover. It is a small bar, but they have seating. I'm just glad CoCo Saint James is the DJ for BS. Shes an icon, and I love her. Bathrooms are not really ever crowded, which is nice. There is always a mixture of people there. It's a casual environment. Jeans and a tee shirt will get you in the door, and make you feel comfortable. Everyone is welcome to this little bar!

Love BS West! I enjoy going out and dancing and this club is great. The vibe is wonderful, the drinks are fairly priced and poured. The bar staff is always friendly. The door staff and security are super friendly as well. This is where I bring friends for a night of dancing ! Music is a nice mix of top 40 and throwbacks !
Gabriella M — Google review
I went here Friday night. $10 cover charge, they claimed due to the drag show $10 jack and coke, a little too expensive for AZ Drag show was mediocre, good choice in music though. Drag show ends at 1:00 AM. After that they played pop music, which was actually decent, 90s, and early 2000s. Staff are very professional and always attentive. Mixed crowd, 60% females living their best lives. Maybe I return on a Saturday to make another review.

Gay bar
The Rock is a popular gay bar located in the Melrose District of Central Phoenix. It offers a variety of entertainment options, including karaoke, comedy shows, and drag performances. The bar has a friendly atmosphere and daily drink specials, making it an ideal spot for socializing and enjoying drinks with friends. In addition to its indoor bar area, The Rock also features a patio where patrons can relax and enjoy their drinks.
My wife and I decided to check out the local lgtb scene and saw this place had a drag show. Our mistake for not realizing what time the show started so instead we sat out in the bar area and had a good time still. The staff were all so nice and friendly. And this is where the 5 stars, for me personally comes in, not only for the game shows on the TV (I'm a big game show junky) whoever was in charge of the music was playing Knocked Loose and Dance Gavin Dance, I never expected to hear them in the wild let a lone a gay bar.
K W — Google review
We actually had a good time at the show tonight. This was the first stop on our night. Sadly the bartender decided that 2 beers was enough and we couldn’t get any drinks. Which is weird seing there were people asleep on tables from drinking too much. But sure two beers was the limit for us. Everybody is welcome except if you look too skinny to hold your licour it seems. This bad service kinda ruined our first night in this city.
Bram D — Google review
Honestly, I feel really bad for giving this bar a bad review. The performance of the queens was really awesome, and we really had a good time. Unfortunately, the bartender decided we’ve had enough right before our second round. That’s right, BEFORE our second round. He handed me the beers, and told me that would be it for the night. At like 8:30pm. I thought I misunderstood, so later I asked “did you mean you needed to see my ID” or “did you meen you ran out of this brand” but no, he really meant 2 was enough. We’ve seen someone pass out/be asleep on this bar bc of how drunk he was (again: 8:30PM) but we were the people who had to leave. It’s not my kind of thing to make drama out of this, so I told the bartender we were just gonna leave, and that we did really have a great time. I also told him there was someone in need in the back. To conclude, there are 2 thing I sincerely hope: - no one out of our community should be treated this way. If a young and shy guy walked in and got this, it could be life changing. - I also hope the bartender gave this guy in the back the proper attention he needed. If the bartender really had his bar bar under control, he would have noticed the real issues before sending us out. PS: we had an amazing time at Stacy’s where we were very welcome. Great night after all. Yet again: huge shoutout again to the queens at this bar. Was great, only the bartender who kicked us out (honest mistake perhaps?) should review his case.

Bear and Morgan are the best bartenders in the Melrose area!! Always love going there and have a good time at a safe space for everyone. The drag shows are always amazing and a fun time. Playpen is such a great event, the hosts and dj are awesome. So excited to come watch Playpen jr. especially with the 2025 Arizona snow queen having a fundraiser
Tempest V — Google review
The rock is great LGBTQIA+ spot to catch a show and enjoy some live entertainment. They have great happy hour deals and food next door. I do wish the layout was different as it can feel very broken up which is great for a nightclub but the rock is a bar vibe. One day I hope a metro line is added to 7th so I can bar hop the gay bars easier. The best bar in Melrose to socialize with others!

1st time visit. Bear the bartender was amazing. Great drinks, great prices. Will return.

Such a great time here. I honestly prefer it to its step-sister Charlie's. I've visited this location twice and every time I am met with a great crowd, kind performers and AMAZING music that keeps you going. The drinks are great and reasonably priced. The lights and screen surrounding the dance floor are such a nice touch. Really amps up the ambiance and makes it so so fun. I look forward to coming back! 💃🏼🏳️‍🌈🩷🥂🍹

The security guy is always very rude. I think he is the owner, he should know how important is to place people to grow a business. There is not a lot of options in Arizona to go dancing, we prefer not to go out than go to this place!
Yesica M — Google review
A heteresexual random girl came for her first time and accused me of giving her "the weird look", even when she's in a gay bar, and told me to "go away", just because the way I look, and the security personnel, when I asked for help, escorted me to the exit. That's exactly the kind of discrimination that we are trying to avoid, I was a regular customer, everyone knows me, and I used to pay really high checks in there, but it didn't matter, it seems that in this place sexism is against us. Do not come here, go Charlie's or anywhere else, you are not safe here, because security personnel is not gay friendly, paradoxically, everything seems to be fine until you are humiliated.

The One Where I Danced the Heartbreak Away Fresh off the breakup with who I thought was my perfect guy—my soul mate, “the one” (spoiler: he was not)—I found myself in need of tequila, rhythm, and validation. Enter: my ride-or-die Tucson gays, who made the trek to Phoenix for a weekend of emotional triage and glittery distraction. Our first stop? Karamba’s—because if I was going to remember my worth, it was going to be under strobe lights that made me feel like I’d walked into a J.Lo music video. And oh, did it deliver. The drinks were strong (just like my post-Beau glow-up), the music was loud, and the dance floor was packed with some of the most gorgeous Hispanic men—and some handsome women, too. The whole place pulsed with sexy, joyful energy that screamed: You’re hot. You’re healing. And you still got it. Bonus points for Jose, the mystery man I talked to for an entire song and haven’t stopped thinking about since. Jose, if you’re out there—slide into my DMs or meet me back on the dance floor. 10/10 would let this place heal my heartbreak again. Karamba’s reminded me that the best revenge is living well—and salsa dancing like your ex is watching.

Postpandemic I arrived just before last call to a polite attractive male bouncer. He gave me a quick run down if how I was to proceed. There is no dancing, I was to remain wearing my mask until I was seated at my table I believe the rule is if you are not seated at your table you have to have your mask on. I was surprised by not seeing the dance floor packed with dancers, instead tables took their place. I was allowed to go out onto the patio smoking area without a mask and the small group of about 10 people out there unmasked. Final thoughts; depends on what your expectations might be. Personally it was nice to get out and even though the crowd was very minimal I enjoyed my $5 picther of beer and people watching. On observing other groups and how they were having fun. This pandemic has everything all messed up but this club has been around for a long time and I would hate to see it go away because of financial problems. We know it's potential I hope we can all try to keep it going while protecting ourselves and others. Bottom line I had a good time. Just be prepared for something a little different than what we're used to. Let's support our local businesses especially gay owned.

Great venue for small and intimate shows! My friend played his very first show here to a small audience and we all had a great time!
Daniel G — Google review
My rating is more like 3.5, bordering on 4. It's a great venue, intimate, personal, friendly, fun, and unique. I've performed here a few times, helped others with their performances, and just sat to enjoy performing artists. Typically, sound is decent but can vary with whoever is volunteering to manage that department. Minimal effort on visuals and lighting, unless the artist brings their own, and that can vary wildly from professional to amateur. Overall, it is a great place to see small acts play, enjoy local artists, and hang out with friends. No bar, but they often sell cold beverages at the check-in counter.

A Truly Special Place for Young Performers Our family has had some wonderful experiences with MTA. Watching my child grow in confidence, creativity, and skill through their programs has been such a gift. Nestled in Scottsdale, Arizona, The Ravenscroft offers a charming and intimate setting for a perfect date night. Hosting popular and emerging artists, this venue provides an unparalleled musical experience reminiscent of the vibrant New York jazz scene. With a 200-seat theater featuring custom acoustics and a smaller jazz lounge called Jazzbird, both equipped with a "Ravenscroft" grand piano, it promises an unforgettable experience.
What an amazing venue, service team, and entertainment! My experience was in the Jazzbird area. We can't wait to come back and attend a Ravenscroft show. Music: Amazingly talented and professional artists! Show began right on time with a short 10-15 minutes of intermission and the night was filled with great performances by a talented quintet! Seating: We were seated in one of the front tables... very comfortable and great view of the artists. If you have one of the back tables reserved I could see how visibility may be obstructed a bit but sound should still be amazing. Bar: Drinks were great and the bartender provided excellent service Dinner: There was a food bar set-up outside the seating area for guests to purchase separately. We had dinner elsewhere because of our dietary restrictions (gluten-free), but for pasta lovers, there appeared to be plenty of choices to eat onsite before the show. Venue: Very classy, clean, and inviting. The check-in and door staff were all very helpful and friendly and guests were of various ages and all there for great music. Dress amongst guests ranged from Smart Casual to Cocktail attire. Recommendation: Arrive early to take-in the venue, order drinks and/or dinner, and get settled-in.

What a great venue! The folks working there are incredibly nice. We saw a performance in the Jazzbird area and enjoyed dinner and drinks before. The performance by Ken Wagner and his group was excellent. It was a perfect evening. The auditorium is beautiful and we are looking forward to seeing a concert there also.
Thomas B — Google review
The music is always good here, and I love the atmosphere. The wine choices could be a little more upscale. It's set up like a caberet or speakeasy, which is fine, but it is very long and narrow, so the sound in the back third isn't as good. A nice, classy place. I don't like that they raised their prices about 30% this fall.
P Q — Google review
Music was excellent, the jazz trio are very talented. The venue however is sadly lacking. When I listen to jazz I like to enjoy a cocktail, I AM sitting in a cocktail lounge, next to something that looks like a bar (it is shaped like a bar anyway with bar stools and everything)…. Unfortunately, I ordered a Moscow mule (on their BAR menu) and it was a canned beverage served over ice in a plastic cup. No limes even… I asked. Don’t get me wrong, a good canned beverage in a plastic cup has its place.. in my backyard. This isn’t it.
Sydney V — Google review
A new, smaller music venue. I have been three times now and enjoy the easy going atmosphere. I had their dinner each time before the show and the food was always delicious. Great music, great atmosphere.
Sean B — Google review
Nothing beats a night of live jazz music performed by local artists who put their Heart and soul into their craft. With more advertising, I know this venue could do very well and stay in our community for years to come.

Bar
Ice House Tavern is a hockey-themed establishment that offers a variety of craft beers and has windows that provide a direct view of the Arcadia Ice Arena. The bar is separated from the ice rink by multiple layers of glass, allowing patrons to enjoy the cool air during hot Phoenix summers. Customers can indulge in domestic or craft brews, along with fried pickles, while observing local hockey games on the ice surface. The attentive staff ensures prompt service for drinks and delicious food options.
This place has always been a hidden gem since I was skating here as a kid. Now that I'm over 21, it's even better. Noticably cleaner n has had some remodeling done. Also a breath of fresh air as maybe manager is making some much needed changes. Staff seems happier and that makes customers happier. Will definitely start bidding out here more with all new great changes going on!!! =] Do it!

Great place to watch a twlevised hockey game in the dessert in Phoenix. Good service and good prices. Will show anything on ESPN or the NHL Network.
Paul A — Google review
Cute little hockey bar especially on games days. However waitresses are terrible. Minimal service was given at the table, had to go to the bar to order. Then she wasn’t happy with the tip that was left so came up to the table, made a scene about it and then took it upon herself to put whatever she wanted for the tip.
Allison L — Google review
Very low class and dark place when entering. Seeing a hockey rink behind the bar was very unusual but awesome to see. Food was soggy because we ordered fries. Fries are supposed to be fresh and crispy. Dead 🪳cockroach by the bathrooms. Not very clean anywhere and I do not recommend this place at all.
Jay A — Google review
Nice basic bar food with hockey on the television right next to an ice rink. The burgers are especially tasty!
Randy K — Google review
Fun place to go and hang out for a couple drinks while watching ice skating or hockey. They used to have a really nice selection of bourbon and whiskey, especially Blanton's. That is what set this place apart from other nearby locations. Bourbon and whiskey is so popular right now, it is surprising to me they departed from it. I would have given 5 stars if they still featured that. Kim is a great bartender. Makes sure everyone has what they need, is very efficient, knows her craft and is very personable.

Update: Management changed January 2021 and it’s definitely gone down hill. The Phoenix New Times was rewarded for the previous management’s menu and efforts, not the current management. Don’t waste your time. It’s not the same staff, menu or cocktails as it used to be.... Original review: A hidden gem! Food is delicious, lots of craft beers and yummy cocktails, TV’s and of course the view of the ice rink is a cool feature! The look is definitely a dive, but prices are affordable and there are always specials. Love this place!

Nestled in the heart of Arizona, The Torch Theatre is a charming and intimate venue that celebrates the art of improv comedy. This local gem not only hosts captivating performances featuring talented actors, poets, dancers, and comedians but also offers classes for those eager to dive into the world of improvisation. Whether you're a seasoned performer or someone who's just starting out and feeling shy about stepping on stage, The Torch Theatre provides a supportive environment where you can flourish.
I've gone here for shows, free improv drop ins and now part of the level 1 class. It's always a great time. The shows are a ton of fun and they have many talented people on stage. If you are interested in classes here, I'd like to start by saying I can be very shy on stage, but they are great on making you feel comfortable and helping you into going on stage with support, advice, and encouragement. This is truly an amazing part of our community.

This is a little known gem of the city. A great night of entertainment at a low cost. Don't expect big crowds or a big venue but you can expect a big effort by local artists who are pouring out their hearts. I promise you'll laugh and feel like you got your money's worth from the experience. I attend about once a month. Who knows... Maybe you'll want to perform some Improv yourself.
Jeremy T — Google review
Seems like a great group of people doing improv not-for-profit. We saw a 9 PM show on Saturday and it was lots of fun. Sure, it isn't Upright Citizens Brigade level of improv, but definitely worth seeing and supporting this local improv venue.
Duygu O — Google review
I've always loved going to the Torch theater. Those teaching Improv here have been doing it the longest, and their founders are the ones who started bringing the Phoenix Improv Festival to AZ. They know their stuff! Always a good show!
Rebecca L — Google review
This place was not funny at all unfortunately. Someone made an extremely tame joke and people were upset and offended when I was at the show. Im not sure if this is true or not but someone in the audience (all 3 of us) mentioned they have rules on what you can and can’t say which is kind of ridiculous. Go somewhere else. The people weren’t friendly and it’s extremely overpriced. I know that there is Second Beat Improv and NCT so go check those out. I’ve heard pretty decent things. EDIT: I have heard that they have two really good groups but I’m not sure what they were called. I’m trying to be fair. EDIT AGAIN: My friend said the review was too harsh so I needed to change it so I just didn’t come off as a jerk.

Clean Comedy, this IS NOT. This was an 8pm show on a Thursday night. After 2 F words in the first sentence we were forced to walk out and forfeit our money, albeit a small amount. In fairness, they did accept my digital entertainment book coupon and the tickets were only $5 so I only paid $10 for 3 of us. I had emailed early in the day to make sure the shows were PG rated. I was told they are PG13 but since they're unscripted, will occasionally get worse. I told them I wanted to attend but we'd have to walk out if they got worse today. Turns out, they WANTED us to walk out and waste our money. They made some type of slur against Mormons within the first sentence, as well. In actuality, we're Jehovah's Witnesses and that IS entirely different. I want everyone at The Torch Theater to know: We are not enemies to the LGBTQ movement. While we strive to apply bible principals in our own personal lives, people of all sexualities are welcome at our meetings. We do not get involved in politics, at all. Thus, Jehovah's Witnesses have NEVER protested against gay rights or voted against gay rights. What's more is that we believe it is a sin to hate ANYONE, not just in actions and words, but even secretly in our hearts. 1 John 3:15 We DO NOT hate gay people. We strongly believe in the words of Taylor Swift, 'Shade never made anybody less gay!' I had hoped that The Torch would be a place of tolerance where peoples of differing beliefs could coexist, but as it turns out-you hate us. It is not my wish to raise or lower your overall rating with this review. However, I will be posting this review on various platforms in an attempt to prevent others from inadvertently subjecting themselves to your prejudice.

Very tiny box theatre that has some great local comedy shows. We went for one of their Cagematch shows where two improv comedy teams go up one after each other and the audience votes for their favorite at the end. Winner goes on to compete next week, against a new challenger. Everyone we went with really enjoyed the show, even those of us who weren't self-described improv fans!
Peter N — Google review
People loving theater and improv. What more could you ask for. Everyone is so nice and inviting, you can’t help but to want to sign up for some classes, just to have as much fun as you see the performers having on stage!

Their productions feature bold casting to ensure underrepresented groups are portrayed with dignity. From the controversial Tony Award-winning 'Assassins' to the haunting 'Ghosts of Bogota,' Stray Cat Theatre delivers powerful performances that leave a lasting impression on its viewers.
Stray Cat will always be a bastion of the Arizona theater scene. Always exceptional contemporary works, always performed brilliantly, never accepting the status quo. Couldn’t recommend it more! PS it’s also one of the only theaters in Arizona where you don’t even NEED the bar to be open to enjoy the show…

Stray Cat Theatre under the artistic direction of Ron May is not only one of the most dynamic and thrilling theater experiences for audiences, Stray Cat is a pillar of integrity, inclusion and diversity. They produce timely, sometimes hard, new and contemporary plays on the toughest social issues. They cast as boldly as they produce, striving always that typically under represented groups are represented and portrayed with dignity. I have had countless young new student actors from my school, enjoy their stage debut at Stray Cat. The professionalism and artistic standard reflects New York level theater. Chaos Comedy is a hilarious live theater in Phoenix that offers top performers and improv shows. This club is well-known for its family-friendly atmosphere and funny content, perfect for anyone looking to have a good time.
I am a student at Dearing studio and have been going to Chaos shows since I started. When I was a new student, the troupe made me feel welcome and at home during a show. They all stayed afterward to chat with all the guests and answer questions. Watching how close these guys were really made me want to be part of it. And now I am. These shows really radiate a feeling of family and companionship. I dont know many people who dont need more of that in their lives!

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY TO GO TO THIS PLACE! I just spent $39 on groupon for a few of us to go to this improv comedy club.. IT WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Not only was I out the $39 bucks, but wasted time and gas to drive down to Phoenix. It was the longest 20 minutes I can remember and would rather be sitting in a doctor office, at least they would have a magazine I could look at for entertainment. At first I thought I was in the wrong place and asked a worker and she confirmed that this was the show.. My jaw dropped and I just could not believe it. My daughter's 3rd grade class put on a more entertaining show than this place. We left in the middle and the only good thing about the night is that no more time was wasted sitting there trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

Holy cow, this 2/15/2019 show was so painful to watch. I think these were maybe drama students practicing we saw. Terrible, terrible improv, with actors responding negatively, constantly and pushing responsibility for carrying the story to someone else.
