A long line but goes quickly, they are very efficient. Yummy pastry and coffee but I don’t know if it’s worth the line up necessarily? But I was satisfied with choice tostop and glad to have made time for this coffee and pastry.

The pastries were delicious, but it’s hard to sit and relax — the door keeps opening and it’s drafty, plus there’s very little space. They don’t put out new items on display, which seems to push customers to buy what’s already there. The coffee was excellent, but the place lacks atmosphere.

I was there around 13:00 hr rainy day, the 3 I tried was not exactly impressive. But they were good.

I wish I could eat here every day! The citron tart was absolutely incredible and the sandwiches were stunning.

This place is kind of frustrating! I often go here and I like the quality of the products, really great bread etc.... but... Today, we went an hour after opening, no warmth in the service, and no croissants - just a simple 'no we don't have those yet.' I mean.... it's Sunday morning, what bakery doesn't have croissants? There was bread sure, but the pastries looked tired and old, perhaps from the day before? I was quite disappointed. I don't get it. It should be a great bakery, but they get all the simple things wrong. Such a shame !

The best Lemon meringue pie we have ever had. The cheese pie was really good too. A well organized and run operation the line was large but it went down fast.

We had such a delightful experience at Renard Bakery. Everything we tried was fresh, beautifully made, and absolutely delicious. The croissant with cream was buttery and light, the éclairs rich and indulgent, the mille-feuille perfectly crisp with creamy layers, and the raspberry tart was both refreshing and elegant. A true gem for pastry lovers — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Owned by Laurent and Sophie Maes since 2015 Renard Bakery has been one of Brussels best ever since, the former space taking on a new look while artisan techniques such as prolonged fermentation has pushed quality to new heights. Open from Wednesday to Monday at 07h00, the location on Fernand Cocq Square in the heart of Ixelles providing ample foot traffic, Larent grew up in his uncle’s Bakery before studying in Paris to perfect everything from Sourdough to Choux and Viennoiserie. Diverse in its offerings, a curated collection of Jams and Spreads mingling with shattering Feuilletines backed by Dark Chocolate, traditional Pancakes are lightly sweet without addition while Liege Waffles see a delicate chew interspersed with Pearl Sugar pockets. Unable to resist a Doughnut, unfilled with just Sugar overlying pillowy Brioche, Renard’s Almond Croissant was a touch soggy despite arriving by 08h00, while the Cinnamon Roll was buttery and aromatic without being overly sweet.

Although this place usually has a line out the door it moves pretty fast and is worth the wait. Everything they make is delicious but I highly recommend the crossaints and eclairs. It's a small bakery so there's limited seating but you can take your goodies to a park nearby and fight off the pigeons trying to eat your food.

Good lord no wonder there is a queue from the minute this place opens every day. Focaccia bread is so good and the pastries are amazing. We sat in a small bar opposite and the queue never went down. The staff are so friendly and work very hard. I will be back during my stay!!

Such a lovely bakery! I went here to get some sweets to take back to my family in the Netherlands and bought three éclairs and a cheesecake. Everything was so good, even after a 7-hour drive home! It was totally worth the 15-minute walk. The place was quite busy with locals, which is always a good sign, but I still got helped really quickly. Would definitely come back next time I’m in Brussels!

Went there around 11am, and was told that croissants were sold out. We had sandwiches and cappuccino. I enjoyed the sandwich, but didn’t like the coffee because it tasted bitter. Overall it was a good experience.

Nice outdoor seating and a wide selection of desserts. However, the service could be more welcoming, and while the cakes are visually appealing, they don’t quite deliver on taste. I also wasn't impressed with their best-seller Lingor d’Or. It's basically a marshmallow with fruits and whipped cream.

I was recommended this place from the classic open top car tour guide. It did not disappoint. Apparently this is the place that royalty eats at. The Paris Brest was simply delicious, and looked as good as it tasted. The raspberry tart equally as good. It was a treat to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful patisseries with a coffee.

My wife doesn’t like sweets. She doesn’t like chocolate also! But…….. She cannot resist the temptation and the beauty of the pastry here, and we know why the Belgian royal family loves the pastry here! We too s break here for our guided city tour and it was so good! These guys supply pastries to the Royal so you know they are legit! You would be spoilt for sweet choices here. The pastries we had were all very good, and we definitely left with a bit of a sugar high. Loved that they did oat milk matcha lattes. You can’t go wrong with ordering any of the croissants/ pastries or the waffles.

We bought the Belgian chocolate to take back home as a souvenir and were not disappointed. The shop has plenty of chocolate to choose from 🍫 with various combinations of ingredients and flavors. Something sweet to remember after your visit to Brussels. Service was nice , I wish the young shop assistants were able to explain better the recipes of various chocolate combinations.

Very disappointing. The macaron tasted old and dry — I couldn’t even finish it after one bite. The dessert overall was not good either. The only positive points were the coffee and the friendly service. However, it was quite expensive for the quality. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back.

Wonderful organic gluten free bread and sweets. All organic and a lot of vegan options. The recipe for the breads are unique and all is organic home made ànd self grown. I really enjoyed the large portions, but be careful as it is easy to order too much ;-)

I understand that it is a bit expensive, gluten free bread unfortunatly always is. What I disliked though was that there is just hummus, cherry tomatoes and arugula in their 'sandwich'. Making it very bland

Great place if you are gluten free! All of their focaccia also has no eggs! Their pastries are gf but not vegan. Everyone there was helpful and patient when we were asking questions regarding other allergens in their menu. I'm not allergic to any ingredients and I still enjoyed everything we ate and would come back!

Gluten free bakery that serves amazing pastries and bread. They really give the gluten free menu a cooler and tastier side. The item in the picture is called browkie - it’s when a brownie and a cookie have a child. It’s rich, chocolaty and the texture just adds life to it. You should also try their chocolate bread. So yummy.

I first visited in July 2023 and got to taste their amazing matcha macarons. I barely ever go to Brussels but whenever I do I always visit this place to check out if their matcha macarons are back. Please bring back the flavour! Not many patisseries have matcha flavoured pastries and you guys have the best matcha macarons in Belgium!! I’m one of their biggest fan \(*´∀｀*)/

Really nice bakery in the heart of Chatelain. The place has a multitude of refined looking pastries, cakes and iced delicacies. I got a Chatelain cake, which is basically a chocolate mousse, with a light biscuit and a little meringue on top. The cake did not disappoint. There was not a big queue to get in, which was nice. The lady serving me that day was OK friendly, but it seems serving me was not a priority until she finished chatting with her colleagues. Items are obviously more pricey than in other stores, but you get what you pay for (which is the good stuff).

My absolutely most favorite pâtisserie in Brussels. Year after year everything is top quality. Whether a plain croissant or chocolates or the St-Honoré or the bûche de noël or the 20+ types of pastries I've tried here they have always been perfect. For the first time this year I tried a bûche de noël and while I chose a classic (the Châtelain) the ones you see photographed are quite innovative My highest recommendation!

It's probably the best patisserie in Brussels. After eating a dessert from here, I didn't want to eat desserts from anywhere else. It is in a league of its own. They also have chocolate and jams, all made in-house. Whether you are buying a gift or celebrating a special occasion, you cannot go wrong with Nicolas Arnaud. I am lucky I live close by, my belly not so much.

Baguette mainly in several ways as well as sweets: cake, pan brioches, bignet and similars. But not only, They also offer possibility of small selection of food and drinks. Great place to have around the corner. Going to pop buy for baguettes in the weekends. Quite soft but tasty. They take card and speak English Edit: been back some more times and sadly not as happy about it anymore. Baguettes are soft and not crispy, and staff not very nice. Guess I was just lucky the first time around

We stopped for a quick breakfast and were amazed by the flavours of the various breads which were fresh out of the oven. The fougasse and mini gratins are a must try!

Try the coal bread!! I already forgot it’s name, but it’s black, and looks like it was way too long in the oven. But it wasn’t! It is actually very healthy, and the most important fact for me: it’s SO delicious!! I stop here every time, just to buy this bread, because in my opinion it’s very tasty and just perfect. It’s not to hard, it’s not to crusty, it’s not to smooth- it’s delicious. And the normal baguette is also in the league of best baguettes in Brussels for me. It tastes like it’s also made of sourdough, and it has also the perfect consistency. This bakery is not far away from „De Brouckère“ Metro, and also not far away from „Gare Du Midi“ - you can also walk a nice sightseeing route from the one station to the other. You can just Google „Charcoal Bread“- to see how healthy it is :-)

What better place to try waffles than Belgium? I had a Liège waffle with salted caramel butter, vanilla ice cream and hazelnuts, and a Brussels waffle topped with warm strawberries, chocolate and whipped cream. Both were delightful, but the salted butter really stood out. Absolutely delicious. Maison Dandoy is a famous spot for waffles and sweet treats. I grabbed a packet of their vanilla biscuits from their other shop at Grand Place to take home.

Nice place for waffles! -I came here on a brussels food and walking tour, the guide went in and got us waffles while we waited outside, but he said this was the store to come to for waffles. -I came back for a second time to try both kinds of waffles -The waffles are great, there is 2 kinds, the hand held original kind, which is amazing, or the square on a tray with different toppings kind, there is many different toppings to choose from. -I tried both kinds, and both were great, i do like the original alot, but the chocolate and strawberries were good too!

Taste good, I got the classic one which is good for both waffles and chocolate. Waffle are crispy and light. Credit card accepted. Enjoy !

We had a great waffle here and really enjoyed it. It was clear this was a proper, high-quality waffle with excellent flavour and texture. The price is on the higher side, but the quality almost justifies it. A very reliable choice for a delicious treat.

Fast service. October had not much tourists. Queue was fast and random. Had the Brussels waffle with cooked strawberries and hazelnuts. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Light inside, crisp outside, chilled strawberries gave that sweet tartness to match the waffle’s sweetness. We ordered the classic waffle. It was good and had a nice texture, but overall felt a bit average and not quite what I expected given all the hype. The flavour was pleasant and still enjoyable, but I was hoping for something a little more special considering how well-known Maison Dandoy is. Still worth trying once for the experience.

Such a cute shop and such kind staff! I had the red velvet and a vanilla raspberry type of cupcake, both were SOOO delicious. They have such a rich taste and a perfect texture, so soft on the inside. I’ve tried many places around the area and this is so far the best. Will some again!

Best bakery in Brussels. No.Doubt.on.that. The baguette is clearly excellent, a mix between the stookbrood and the French baguette. Their bread is also excellent, my favourite is the multi-cereals one. The cereals are really tasty and don't just decorate! Finally I'd say even though the classic pain au chocolat or the croissant are not outstanding like the bread and the baguette, you should try and taste the other "pleasures" they have like the biloute, brownies, with a special love for the almond one. Ps: when it's not too crowded it's also enjoyable to just see and enjoy a coffee there.

You know a good baker from the length of the queue outside their doors (and the queues where there long before Covid happened). This shop is the second outpost in Brussels of Christian Pelej's imaginative, divine and delicious stone oven bread. Rated in the top 10 in Brussels/Belgium this is my go-to-baker (something we should all have in our lives!). However, the shop is messy and a bit stressy which detracts from the experience of trying new breads. Noting is gluten free but some bio. Try the Almond Croissants, the focaccia and the house stable: Cannabis Bread (named from the floor motif not the ingredient). Expect to pay $$$

I wanted to try the best galette des rois in Brussels in 2025 and was not disappointed! It is extremely flaky, delicious, full of almond frangipane. Fevé is super cute too! Email reservation of the galette was easy and extremely fast. The service at the boulangerie itself could be a little bit friendlier though.

Croissant aux amandes has been my favorite but lately has really gone down hill. over cooked(Photo below) Bread is always good and now I swapped the croissant aux amandes for the plié praline. Not the same but is a good alternative. Staff is always busy as there always seems to be a line which is a good sign that you are doing something right. They still manage to smile and give off a welcoming feel.

First time line in bakery😹. But only 5 min and totaly worth it. Tastes like real Paris crossant and sweets😻. Coffee tastes little bit bitter that usual even it won't effect overall😘.

Discovered this during my Sunday morning walk in Saint Gilles and instantly became my patisserie validation wrapped in delish dough! I tried their plain croissant (which was good - although I’ve had better in town) and the apricot-hazelnut bread (which now holds a special place in my heart)!

Even before entering you can tell how amazing the profucts are. This bakery and pastry shop is also a fabric, as they ferment and bake the bread in the back. I bought bread by kilo, which allows no waste, personalisation and always fresh bread. So delicate, nourishing and satisfaying. Hard to find such quality like this nowadays. It was more or less 3.5 euros. You can expect a bit of line in the weekend mornings, but it goes fast. The team is very nice and dynamic. The cakes and cookies look divine!

This is our favorite bakery in all of Brussels. We are devotees to the croissants, particularly the almond, and rarely a week goes by that we don't eat three or four of their baguettes, both the traditional and the seeded, which are probably the best I've ever had, and that includes eating many baguettes in Paris and France. Their breads are well-hyrdrated and soft, with just a touch of crunch to the crust. To top it all, the prices are a great value for the high quality of the product, and the people are warm and friendly.

The atmosphere of the store was nice. The lemon cake was dry. It is a matter of personal taste but for me the lemon cake was too sweet and the eclair was too heavy.

Lovely pastries, delicious baguette and brioche (especially brioche feuilleté)! They have various slices of cakes as well. Line could be long on weekends (but moves rather quickly) - that’s your sign it’s a good boulangerie.

It's a really nice bakery. I tried: un pain aux noix, un pain au chocolat, and pain au chocolat aux amandes, and all of them were really good!

Fine artisan chocolates. The chocolate is beautiful to look at, come in a vast flavour selection, and melt very smoothly in your mouth. They are above average chocolates.

Was lucky enough to be invited to a tour of the factory 20 years ago. Fell in love with the Pierre Marcolini chocolates. On our recent tour to Belgium as a treat we purchased some PM chocolates to remind us how good they were. We were disappointed. The quality of the chocolate seems to have declined massively, maybe cost cutting? Would not recommend at all. Way too expensive for poor quality chocolate and poor taste.

We came for breakfast for 2 of us within 30 minutes of opening and it was very busy, you can see why. The food was lovely and is a good spot in brussels that offers a wider range of breakfast/brunch options rather than just waffles. Food was quick and service was lovely, on the more expensive side but overall a good place to come for breakfast, would recommend.

I visited this place at lunchtime, and it was extremely busy and noisy - both due to the crowd and the bar itself. We waited 40 minutes for our food, which was unfortunately not tasty and rather expensive, especially by Brussels standards. I've been here twice at the invitation of friends, but I doubt I'll return on my own. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and professional.

The food is excellent, the café is beautifully designed, and the staff are exceptionally kind and attentive. I highly recommend it.

A good place to come without reservatios as even during the weekend they have enough space to quickly find a seat. The food was good, though quite pricey. Service was not the nicest and slow.

I was eager to try their petit déjeuner though it left me with rather mixed feelings - the hot chocolate was great, real Belgian quality, so that alone made it worth it. The apple juice I got was also obviously natural, as well as the strawberry jam, accompanying the pastries. However, neither the butter croissant nor the baguette were impressive. Honestly, especially the croissant tasted like bought from a supermarket, and I really hope it's not the case. The price I paid was 13.95€ for a cup of hot chocolate, glass of organic apple 🍎 juice, 2 slices of bread and 2 baguette pieces, as well as a butter 🧈 croissant and butter and jam on the side. The service was friendly, but since the waiters didn't have their names embroidered on the uniforms, I had no clue who they were. The atmosphere is simple but nice. Overall 3/5 with some potential for more. P.S. they offer some of the eat-in dishes for takeaway as well, for a couple euros less.

First time there. A server came and seated my children while I spoke to him and queued up at the till to order. He didn't mention I could order from the table. Waited 5m in the queue (not easy with 2 small children already seated) and ordered to eat there. Server announced that ill have to pay a different price to eat there I was like, okay. Then he kept arguing with me to put the juice in my hand back in the fridge and go and sit and wait for another server to order and they will then bring the same juice to my child but later.

I was there yesterday. I ordered a matcha latte and a pastry, the matcha was fine but the pastry was really dry and it seemed old (I ordered it because the waiter said it was good and I was expecting something freshly baked). When I went to pay, I paid €8.5 only for that pastry… I should’ve definitely asked for a new one🥲 I probably won’t come back

Warm (not hot) cappuccino; No one in dining area and waitress seated me next to wait staff work area -- I had to pick up and move myself to seat by window. When I was ready to have my order taken I closed my menu and waited. And waited. The waitress was more interested in gossiping with other wait staff than attending to me. Finally another member of the crew nudged her over. Food was brought out quickly. Croissant tasted stale like it had been sitting out all morning (which it clearly had been since there was an open display of pastries). Usually cappuccinos are served scalding hot (perfect serving temp for a cappuccino is minimum above 60 C). This cappuccino was warm--almost hot. Bof. Will reconsider coming to this overpriced eatery again.

Food is fine but nothing special. The large soup (which is really just a standard bowl of soup for €8.50) arrived a bit cold. In general the place is overpriced. Staff are always quite inattentive and service is slow.

**This review was written 2 years ago but apparently only got released now? The situation might be different now. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for a nice coffee in the morning. The quality of the coffee was really not up to par. I also bought a pastry and that one was quite good. I cannot judge their other breakfast or brunch options, but I am just making it clear that this is not a place for coffee-lovers. Note: Don't bother giving your reusable coffee container as apparently they don't know how to serve in it and they still wasted a paper cup and let me transfer it myself.

I am usually biased towards giving a positive review but this one doesn't deserve a good one at all. To put it in bulletins : - The Chai latte (tea with almond milk) arrived in lukewarm (ambiant temperature), and this is under the hot drink menu, strange really, I wasn't sure what to say. - I ordered the scrambled eggs toast, wasn't fresh as well and it took 45 minutes. But the surprise is that they gave me the plate with a small portion, and the table next to me ordered the same one and theirs was double than mine. 😂 I asked the waiter if there is something wrong, he went in and came back telling us sorry this is a small portion because we are out of toast, and he didn't bother suggesting anything to make amends. I mean dude, either tell me right away so I order something else or offer an alternative. But no, they prefered to let me starve and give me a small plate and with full price. I truly felt the current management doesn't have hospitality experience, or a kid was running the restaurant. I paid 20Euro only to continue my lunch somewhere else. I was laughing about this situation when it happened but now I realize how bad the management is.

This restaurant offers very fresh and tasty mussels, the sweetness of the onion soup also surprise me, and the dessert is just perfect to end this meal. Friendly service, reasonable price and good food certainly beats those nicely decorated restaurants in the tourists area, will definitely visit again if we visit Brussels again.

Absolutely loved Big Mama! The spicy Moules and frites were amazing - actually spicy (finally!) and full of flavour. The mussels were big, juicy, and perfectly cooked. But the real star? The waffle with cream. Hands down the best waffle I’ve had in Brussels - light, fluffy, and crispy on the outside. None of that dense, overly sweet street-style stuff. Just perfection. Highly recommend this place! Wonderful service from the gentleman at the front which I will presume is the owner! He kept checking in on us and overall a friendly person!

Had a nice family dining experience here. Friendly staff. Food good. Prices.....pretty ok for Brussels. Moules a little small but that's probably because of a seasonal thing. All in, a good end to our day trip to Brussels.

The restaurant is relatively small. It is not that far from the Grand Place (kind of 10/15 mins walking) and is a quite location. We have been there on a Saturday for lunch and we found it quite relaxing and enjoyable. As the weather was very good, we took a table outside. The service has been very quick and the food was good. Prices are in line with the average, so nothing to say. We saw some waffles being served to a table close to ours and they seemed really good. Anyway, we decided not to order them but we will definitely need to return to have a try!

Vin Blanc Moules was genuinely great and tasty with fresh mussels but the prawn croquettes and fries didn't match our expectations. The difference in quality between these meals is huge. The restaurant was clean and staff polite.

Fantastic meal from start to finish! The menu with beer suggestions is so helpful for those of us who are not so familiar with beer. Everything we ordered was fantastic, especially the Trappist Salad and the Speculoos tiramisu and Saint Nicolas delight. What a meal! By far our favorite meal of this vacation!

Place is about a 10 minute walk from the happening center of Brussels. Its corner lot is pretty unassuming but easily recognizable by all the outdoor red furniture. Food took a long time to come out but it was worth it. Try the beef stew and pasta bolognese.

Great place to have a brunch on a sunny day in Brussels. Nice food and lovely atmosphere at the park. I would recommend it. Update: well, still really nice place to go but be aware if you go there on Sundays when its full, anything you order can be forgotten or a glass of wine can come 20 min later. So service must be improved!

A nice place to have brunch. Especially on their big terrace on sunny days. Even on Sundays where a lot of people come here to brunch you can easily have a table if you’re just with 2, but do make a reservation if you’re with a big group or on windy days because since it’s located in the center of a park you really feel the wind which makes sitting at the terrace a cold experience if you aren’t properly clothed. They have a weekday and weekend menu so do check it out in advance. It’s okay price & quality wise. The proportions seem small but they fill well and the food has flavor. Their mimosa is lackluster so for the mimosa lovers out there, take something else. Their staff lacks warmth in their service. Only the LGBTQIA+ waiter had a warm, welcoming and genuine service. The rest weren’t really approachable. It’s also one of these places where waiters are split to specific tasks and those tasks only, so not all of them are equipped to take your order. Thank goodness that even on a busy brunch Sunday the wait time isn’t long for food and drinks. Overall? It’s a place worth going for lunch, brunch or a chill date

The location is just perfect. A very appeasing setting by the park. Laid back atmosphere, earthy tones with the deep green clay like walls decor. La fabrique attracts you with its natural style textured decor but it will fail to make you want to come back with its food. The food looks great but taste from bland to bad. As simple as that. You will sit and look at the waiter deliver food to the surrounding tables, drooling over the colors in the plate. Eggs royal, crispy chicken, pain perdu, it looks soooo good. This is why the let down is powerful. How can such pretty plates have such absent, bland, indistinguishable flavors is beyond me. The avocado looks nice and limey green but the taste is unknown, the bun looks golden and glossy but the taste is absent, the chicken bun looks unlike chicken and I still haven't figured out what it tastes like... There are no flavors to this food although it looks great and that is the disappointment. The interior decorator of this place was skilled. The waiters and staff are laid back and that is cool for me. I don't like places where the waiters hover too much. The cook...man...no offense. This food is too pretty to taste this bad. The whole time I ate my food trying to find the positive aspects of it, beyond the look of it. I had to eat it because I paid for it too and it was edible, just not pleasurable in any aspect... It's not even that it's not fresh, to me the cook is absolutely unskilled in the flavor and textures department. In the end, this place sells you an Instagrammable setting but it's not giving "restaurant where they care about the actual taste of the food" I will still go back for a coffee or a drink. I will never feel the need to eat there again... The 2 stars for the food is for the effort of making it look good.

First time visiting this place was amazing, second time not so much. Told that there was a waiting time of 35 min for the food but we also had to wait the same amount of time for 3 simple drinks. Unfortunate that we were not helped the first time Food was excellent tho!

Hands down, best vegetarian burger ever. Lentille burger with mango-curry sauce was 🔥 Was a perfect and calm lunch spot in the park next to the busy louiza street.

Nice atmosphere and all but please take service more seriously otherwise people can also buy a carrefour coffee and sit on benches. This is not an important story but an indicator of what is wrong with your service: A waitress came by to ask what I want, I asked for the menu, she seriously forgot to bring a menu (the bar 5 meters away from my table) while the cafe was mostly empty. She even walked behind me with 10 menus in her hand. I went and gave my order myself for the overpriced products. In this case I would prefer to have self-service and 1 euro cheaper prices.

Recently, I witnessed inappropriate behavior by a young waiter at your establishment. He was a dark-haired young man — the one on the left in the photo — and this can be verified via your security cameras. I have known this park and your restaurant for a long time, and you have always had staff who love and care for pets. However, I was deeply upset when I saw one of the waiters carrying a dark-colored bulldog named Edgar by the scruff of the neck, and when he put him down, he began squeezing and scolding the dog. I don’t know what was wrong with this waiter, but this clearly violates basic moral standards for the treatment of animals. I urge the restaurant’s owners to take this matter seriously.

Mind-boggling selection of baklava and various Mediterranean sweets with a variety of nuts, spices and flowers worked into them. Of course, with quantities like these, there is no way they can always be fresh, so, while beautiful and temptingly looking, some of them had been sitting there for a while and where therefore drier and harder than they would be if you were to catch a fresh batch of them. But great to draw inspiration from for a culinary visit of the Southern Mediterranean from to Turkey or Morocco.

Glad we found this place during our short stay in Brussels. They have a wide variety of pastries from different areas of the Mediterranean that had an amazing flavor and weren't too sweet. The staff and owners were super helpful and friendly, great experience!

The two different pistachio desserts I bought looked delicious, but they turned out to be stale, so I don’t recommend them. I gave a rating of 2 only because the staff were friendly and smiling.

Having to check out of our stay early, this was just about the only place open early enough for us to get breakfast. The food was really good and there was fresh squeezed orange juice on the spot. This was delicious. They were even able to accommodate us for what we were hungry for even though some of what we wanted was only available for lunch. The inside was very clean and it had a very peaceful atmosphere.

Amazing food! Fresh, warm, well made. Good coffee too. Won't forget this one..so, so good. Very busy, popular place. If you don't go, you've missed something special.

Such a cosy place to have a brunch or a morning tea/coffee. There were people working even and reading. There are 2 floors so enough space for everyone. The bathroom was really clean and they provide female sanitary products for free which I appreciate. I liked their flat white and the banana bread. I also ordered the savery scone but didn't like it. Lol

Today I had breakfast at this café and really enjoyed it! I ordered an iced latte and a cinnamon roll — everything was super tasty, I highly recommend it. The waitress was also very kind and spoke English really well, which made the experience even nicer. Definitely a lovely place, I recommend checking it out!

I love to go here to get a cappuccino usually in the weekends. The place has a great aesthetic and it’s very quiet. The cappuccino is 4€.

I had high expectations for the food and was a bit disappointed. It was good but lacked depth in flavors. The place is absolutely gorgeous though, and I can see myself coming regularly for meetings, to work on a laptop, etc. A lot of light coming in, it's spacious, there are regular table and lounge style tables. I didn't get to try their baked goods but they looked amazing.

AUSTRALIANS- this is a coffee like home- friendly Barista, excellent beans and silky milk skills. They use real milk (not UHT). It's also much cheaper than any other coffee in Brussels. Cosy atmosphere also.

For pastries; there was only almond croissants left by the time I got there…..just out of the oven so not bad at all! Also took a chocolate eclair but haven’t tried it yet (I know….whats wrong with me?!😁) I would go again if in the area.

Also winner of the best praline, happy to take time and explain you the ingredients and work done to get to this result. Fine selection of Japanese and French-Belgian bread and pastries. The chocolate selection is truly amazing ... The creme brulee with green tea is a killer, best creme brulee ever 😍

I disagree with other reviewers who said their desserts were not too sweet. Except for the creme fraiche strawberry cake, the other cakes I tried are too sweet for me, especially those with mousse. Considering the high price tag, I don't think I will return

Great little place. A family business with interesting recipes. The chocolates and the filled croissants we tried are very good quality. The little cakes are next. But everything looks good.

If you love the idea of a Japanese bakery, then this place is certainly worth a visit. Be warned that most of their products are "Belgian", but the care and the expertise they put in their work is amazing. Each fruit of their cakes is carefully respecting the overall symmetry. Their colours are bright without being fake. Their flavours delicate and elegant. Don't be surprised if you will have to queue outside, with little signs of life in the rest of the neighborhood: the quality of the place is getting known (also, if it means something, among Japanese expats).

An exquisite experience, definitely unexpected. Was very tasty and full of flavour. The chocolate doughnut was filled with a mouse and chocolate base, the chocolate waffle was one of the nicest in Brussels, full of flavour and different textures to explore. The creamy balls had a surprise in them and were delicious and fresh.

Absolutely amazing desserts , the waffle and cream was to die for and the lovely lady making them was a true artist! Delicious and definitely worth trying! You will not regret it.

I used to live next to this bakery and it’s so wonderful that I still come back most weekends just to try their pastries. Their New york rolls is my new favorite!

The chou pastries are excellent as usual, but the cheesecake one is disappointing with the pie base disproportionately thick. Carachoc tart is nice with the same creamy chocolate mousseline found in the chocolate eclair.

You have to go here! HAVE TO! MUST! This place is beautiful and delicious and just a must go. It’s worth walking over there just to glare at the exquisitely made chocolates. But have a pastry cause they are just insanely good. I had a pain out raisin and it was huge, delicious, buttery and crisp with tons of raisins. Even better my parter tried their chocolate, custard pain au chocolate thing and that was incredible. It was the crispest, butteriest and most delicious thing over ever out in my mouth. Ever! The staff where just lovely and helpful and there’s a little window where you can see the bakers hard at work. I call it where the magic happens. Must try!

Visited this place during New Year’s holiday 2022 in Brussel and instantly fell in love with Ginkgo! They offer a lot from pastries, cakes, pies until chocolates, and all are beautifully crafted! We ordered the eclair and paris brest. Both were super good especially the hazelnut filling with a perfect balance of all taste you need for a good cake :)

We ducked into Belga & Co on a grim, rainy Brussels Saturday. Rue du Bailli gave us shelter. Belga & Co gave us… a good-looking mirage. Yes, the interiors are stunning, moody chocolate walls, gold ceiling, feature lighting, and a giant mask watching your plant based milk choices. But that’s where the magic ends. Sticky floors, stained menus, loud music, and zero sound absorption make for a chaotic experience. The seating? Cramped and borderline dangerous. I was perched on a stair-edge seat like a contestant in some caffeine-themed version of saw. The matcha was essentially green-tinted milk with commitment issues. The lemonade looked great but didn’t land. As for the coffee, it talks a big game, but tasted like something you’d grab at the airport while questioning your life choices. They claim no laptops on weekends, but enforcement was nonexistent. Belga & Co has the aesthetic, but not the follow-through. Would I return? Only for the lighting and a quiet identity crisis.

We stopped by on a sunny day and really enjoyed the terrace—it’s a lovely spot to sit and relax. They had two options for batch brew, a single origin and a blend. I went for the Ethiopian, and it was a good, solid cup of coffee—nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable. My wife tried the lemon and turmeric cake, which was okay but not particularly memorable. Overall, a nice coffee stop with a great terrace and good specialty coffee.

It used to be a nice coffee place in the past. Now it looks like abandoned. Variety and quality of products dropped. Service sucks (they do not even bother cleaning the tables after a client leaving), dirty toilets. Pity cause the place used to have a nice vibe and for sure there's plenty of potential.

Belga is a hidden gem of a cafe. It’s easy to miss, only a small sign in the window. I discovered it by accident. Excellent coffee, served with a glass of water. A rarity in Brussels. Nice cakes too. Plus a loyalty card for regular customers. It’s listed in the European Coffee Trip app, which is a sign of quality. In summer you can take some rays in the small garden at the back, an oasis of calm in a busy area.

The coffee is amazing, and their banana cake is so fresh and good, and you dream of eating it. You can taske the ownmade one and not industrial one as most of the place. Great staff and the location allow you to work there as the music isn't too loud Oui.

So delicious!!! My first vegan brunch in Brussels and I can’t rave about it enough! I had the crispy burger and it was full of flavours and so filling! Such a cool find and it was busy so obviously popular!!! Really recommend Lucifer Lives and can’t wait to come back!

I went to Lucifer Lives today after searching high and low for a nice vegan place to have lunch. To start with the atmosphere is great, the cafe is nicely decorated and there's lots of seating options. When I arrived it was packed, I assume it was rush hour so I barely made it on time to grab the lunch however it was worth it in the end because this is the best lunch I've had during my stay in Belgium. It was extremely rich and tasty. I also had a homemade iced tea which was quite nice as well. The staff is friendly and they speak English which made my experience a lot better. I totally recommend this cafe whether it's for a simple coffee, brunch or to have some lunch.

One of my favorite vegan places since the day they opened their doors. Amazing coffees, very creative and tasty dishes and desserts. The most wonderful and kind owners in a setting where everyone feels welcome. Our visits to Brussels never go by without a visit to this place!

Cute, little, vegan café with clean toilets. We choosed the scandinavian brunch, a raw cookie dough bar and some drinks. The taste was really good. If the bagel would have been less cold and the cookie dough bar less sweet, I would give 5/5.

A great, fully vegan place in Brussels. Small food menu but food was pretty tasty. I went for the Curry Chicken Sandwich for €8.5. It was a big eat and decent for the price. My wife had the Flemish Beef stew for around $17 I think. Not to our flavour profile as it has a cinnamon/clove flavour which from as little as we know is authentic but we weren't expecting it. It was full of mushrooms which we're not fans of and it arrived luke warm (more on the cold side) which was a bit off putting. Came with chips and a nice dressed salad. Iced Americanos hit the spot on a really hot day.

Deco is fantastic !! Staff is really welcoming and the food magnifique !! Loved it ! I’d visit again when I come back to Brussels . If you’re vegan and looking for a delicious coffee and bread or a meal, this is the place . Also budget friendly and fresh, what else can I ask ? Truly grateful to have found this place.

I’m disappointed with my order. I asked for a little sign on the cake — I can accept that it came on a separate plate, but the plate was very tiny and the writing was done so poorly. Honestly, I could have done it better myself and won’t be putting it on the cake. The cake itself also looks much less nice than on the website. I really hope that the taste is better than the presentation.

If you are looking for a delicious, Brussels locally owned shop that makes enticing treats this is the spot! If you’re coming into town to celebrate an event, message the shop ahead of time to see if you could enjoy one of these cakes while you are here! I’m so sad that we missed the opportunity, but we will definitely keep this in mind for next time! I wish we lived here so we could have a cake made for all special events! Everything was so beautifully crafted and the attention to detail is stunning! This place was recommended to us from someone in the states who has been before and they did not steer us wrong! We are only in Brussels for a few days, but glad we visited!!! We ate several of the cookies and marshmallows from Cokoa’s grab and go section but it was so good we made a second trip for more of the marshmallows!!! We had to get one in every flavor. I cannot recommend this place enough. There’s lots of cute things to do as well if you’re staying in Brussels central area and do make the easy metro journey to this bake shop. The owner was so sweet and she recommended a sprawling, gorgeous park nearby which I second if you have felt locked in the city buildings; as well as one of Brussels oldest cafés! We came prepared with cash because we read other great reviews that talked about needing to bring cash, but I was pleasantly surprised that they also had an app available if we needed to pay via our phones. We will add this to our “must visit list” when we recommend Brussels!

The absolute best place for cakes in Brussels. Beautiful, original, tasty: everything is perfect. Cakes are seasonal so you often find new ones! Also, the whole team is incredibly nice and responds to emails quickly.

Tastes like cheap supermarket cake. Pricing based on the one natural flower that they are putting on it. Delivery is super expensive, their shop is in couple of kilometres from my house but they charge me 15euro. In total, not worth to buy

A nice authentic place where the locals go. Everyone speaks French there. This is both a bakery and a confectionery store. This place gets pretty crowded on a weekend but the staff works fast. The pain aux chocolat is delicious, especially if just taken from the oven. Croissant with almonds is very good even when it cools down. The chocolate truffles are delicious and there is a wide variety to choose from. Note that the neighbourhood is not super attractive there but otherwise this is a good spot to check out for some authentic pastries

It felt like it was a mistake to have taken a few minutes to check the cakes. We came to check Van Dender's Buche de Noel, but they were not available in the shop. We were constantly asked if we were ready to order, but not offered advice to help us choose. The sales woman said in a sarcastic tone, 'You have all the time, we close at 3 pm'. Not sure if it is a special behaviour for us or has Van Dender has transformed itself into a hostile place for anyone who wants to give the best of their cakes to a friend, who is a first time mother to be.

The cakes here are, without a doubt, some of the tastiest I've ever had. The quality is top, showcasing the finest ingredients. They are the official cake supplier to the Belgian Royal Family. This speaks volumes about their exceptional quality and reputation. Van Dender also offers a delectable selection of prepared sandwiches and breads.

Decidedly French, but also with a sizable selection of Greek and Mediterranean delicacies, Nikolas Koulepis checks a lot of boxes and seems to do it all well thanks to the owner’s extensive training that began on the island of Rhodes. Now with two locations, Pastries comprising everything from Choux and Viennoiserie to shredded Phyllo an ambitious undertaking, staff proves pleasant when describing options in multiple languages while quality is evident in the first bite of layered lamination that shatters quietly. Offering scaled down Cakes and Entrements, the Saint Honore a work of art from Cream to crunchy Sugar, Kadayıf is boldly aromatic and soaking wet while the Bret gets a boost from an unannounced layer of Caramel and Praline that adds a whole extra layer of excellence.

I have yet to visit a Koulepis location. I did however have the pleasure of having my wedding cake made by this team. I am writing this review to tell you that koulepis managed to make 180 people turn to my now wife & I to ask who achieved this extraordinary feat of making an incredible Saint Honore for 180 people. I tasted their cakes selection during a brunch . They have also some easter chocolate shaped structures ideal for a gift for kids . The vanilla and chocolate cream eclair were delicious. The lemon meringue was equally good . The chestnut crumb i didnt tasted it but it looked good

Very good patisserie! We tried “ekmek kataifi”, “st honoré”, “bougatsa” and variety of cookies. The cookies were a wonderful way to pair with our coffee! The Rhodos version of bougatsa initially made me a little sceptical, but after tasting it, I was completely won over! Overall, a must try!

Unusual cookie flavours (I will try the pistachio one next), nice spot with nice staff. The must are the filled ‘choux’, that are not overly sweet which is much appreciated. Quite pricey, but a nice treat from time to time. You can also have a cup of tea or coffee while enjoying your sweets. Their homemade sorbets are very nice as well.

Such a cozy and friendly place to stop by for some sweets. We initially went to try their Choux pastry. While it was delicious, the matcha cookie ended up being our favourite treat!

This is THE BEST almond croissant in Brussels. I have tried many, and this is hands down the best! In my experience, they tend to sell out by mid morning, so if you’re in the mood for an almond croissant, you need to get there early! You won’t be disappointed! A bit expensive which is why I took away a star.

Best pastries ever, and bonus points that they were all vegan and affordable! We showed up an hour before closing and left with a strawberry pastry, merengue with chocolate and chantilly, creme brulee ball, and brownie. All of them were amazing! Despite a language barrier, the woman was so kind and helpful. She used Google translate to explain certain ingredients. We wish we came a bit earlier to see more of a selection, but regardless, we are so happy with what we got. We fully recommend this place!

Vegan bakery frequented by locals. Away from the centre but worth the trip! I was too late for the croissants, but tried a few of their cakes, they were so delicious. Out of the ones we tried, the mango and rhubarb ones were on a different level, amazing flavours.

I love this vegan bakery! I’ve been a few times and it is the best vegan pastries I’ve ever had ! The bread is also very tasty. The only downside is I live 40 minutes away in Laeken - I wish I could come more often!

Vegan or not, this was the single best pain au chocolat I‘ve ever had in my entire life. The staff is also very friendly. If you live in the centre, this is well worth the detour to Anderlecht - I highly recommend!

Ordered a vegan birthday cake here for my girlfriend last year. Despite the fact that I didn't speak French, they made it happen. The cake itself was delicious and with pistachio, just like I wished for. My girlfriend loved it.

The only negative thing I can say about this place is that is too far away. I tried the pain au chocolate and it was amazing. I’ll definitely come back.

Best vegan pain au chocolat - tried them at Lucifer Lives vegan cafe

We got the brioches with raisins and the ones with chocolate. We bought the gift cake box, as well, with 6 mini meringues from different flavors. It is delicious. The cramique or brioches are light and fluffy with gorgeous Belgian chocolate chips. And the mini cakes are perfect. Not too sugary, not too much meringue and with the perfect amount of flavor. You have chocolate, lemon, praline and more to choose from. We bought the pastries and were so fragrant that, in our way back, the car smelled like a homemade bakery for more than two hours. The service was great. The people in the store could speak several languages. The parking is difficult, so I advise to park in a paid parking and walk to this shop. Price is fair for the quality of the products. It is always full of clients. They also have an open kitchen where you can see them preparing and baking the pastries. Very professionals and clean.

Both the chocolate brioche bun and vegetable sandwich were superb! The bread was perfectly sweet and completed the other components wonderfully. Even with a line it was super fast to order and the workers were very friendly.

I have no idea what these little cakes are called but they were little cakes from heaven. They were absolutely delicious and I just wish we had time to go back for more! Definitely worth trying if you're in Brussels and looking for a sweet treat.

I've been there many times because it's so inviting. You can't stop trying most of the delicious desserts. My favorite are the brioche. You can find them freshly made that are still warm. They're simple yet so delicious. The place is small and filled with that sweet smell that makes you crave something sweet. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it.

Popped into Aux Merveilleux de Fred in Brussels and oh my, what a treat! The merveilleux cakes are pure magic—tried the classic chocolate one and the speculoos with white chocolate, both so light and creamy with that perfect meringue crunch. The croissants were warm, buttery, and flaky perfection. The shop’s got this fancy vibe with a big chandelier and open baking area that’s fun to watch. Staff were super friendly, even with a queue (which moves fast!). Prices are reasonable. Grab a box to go or sit at their cute tables. 5 stars!

We stumbled upon this pastry by pure chance tucked away in a quiet corner, barely marked, Flaky, buttery The balance of crisp and soft, sweet and subtle, was perfect.

Very dissapointed. I ordered a piece of pizza and a coffee 12€. 9 € only the pizza (see the pic). First they didnt advertised the price of pizza and partially my fault of not asking, but is common sense that cant be more than 5€. After the guy told me to pay I was shocked and I told him with 9€ you can eat a margherita in a proper restaurant and please advertise the price. The coffee was waterish like the poorest quality ever. Very bad services. Not a place to go definitely!!!

Disgusting and Unacceptable🤮 I found a live snail crawling on my lettuce after eating most of my meal. Absolutely horrifying! 😡 Staff didn’t even properly apologize. IF YOU’RE PLANNING TO EAT HERE, BE WARNED -FINDING A LIVE SNAIL IN YOUR FOOD SEEMS TO BE PART OF THE EXPERIENCE. I was so disgusted that ended up in the restroom poking out what I ate. I do not recommend the Sandwich Club de Luxe - very disappointing. I got a sandwich with disproportionate amount of ham, slice of salad, two cherry tomatoes and mayonnaise. No egg, no cheese, no cucumber. Nothing to do with the photo or description - just twice as small and twice as expensive as any other sandwich there.

Espresso was pretty good especially compared to most other places in Brussels. Pastries were a mix with some of them being pretty good while other being a bit gummy and unappetizing. Clean location, nice staff and larger than I expect it to be inside. Would get espresso and croissant again.

One of my favorite cafes. Dubai, Tokyo, and Brussels all had the same taste. I like the croissants and lemon tarts. It is open from 7am so great if you need.a quick bite in this area.

After having a random craving for a simple baguette ham and cheese sandwich for the past several days, I came to Paul. The friendly worker said he could make it for me as they only had ham out on the counter. Absolutely delicious and was exactly what I’ve been craving! He was very friendly, food was great. The rudeness and racism I faced today never happened anywhere in my life… She served me by keeping my order on garbage… When I highlighted to them the funny thing instead of apologizing she was arguing…. I don’t suggest anyone to visit them

I wanted a quick snack so I stopped in just before 1 pm on a Sunday and got a sausage roll. It wasn’t the best but it’s pretty good if you’re looking for something quick and inexpensive. They have a variety of other items and it seemed like a lot of people were ordering the sandwiches. They’ll also warm it up for you, if you ask. We randomly found this spot on our last day of Brussels but if we knew about it earlier, we for sure would have gone here for breakfast a few times.

Quick snack / breakfast. Sausage roll, omele sandwich, coffee, etc. Fast and friendly. Food was just fine. Actually, the omelet sandwich was pretty good.

one of our breakfast go-to's in brussels. Good amount of fillings and variety options. Also take a coffee to go as these can be super dry. So a advice: do not eat half and keep the other half for later . It gets super dry to eat on any journey without anything warm to drink

Took a sandwich and a sweet bun from Panos Bakery during my short visit to Brussels. Both take away and dining options are available. Dining area is located just infront of the Panos Bakery. Self service is practiced. Accepts both cash and cards. Staff speaks English and that helps you communicate with them easily.

I got breakfast here it wasn’t too busy and the seating was comfortable the service was attentive and fast. For €24.70 I got the avocado toast water and a cappuccino I think it’s a little overpriced but it was right in the middle of the city centre. The bakery looked fresh !!

My experience at this restaurant was splendid, I had a very nice time there with my friends and the waitress we had, was just so very very nice, her name was Dinah, I believe. I had one of the scrambled egg toasts and that was just incredibly good. My friends had some other breakfast foods which I cant remember right now but all of us were very pleased with the food. For everyone that reads this I hope you have an equally nice experience here and an equally lovely waitress like we had.

What a fantastic find. The service was exemplary and the food was excellent. With the understanding that this is a chain, and the menu is the same at all locations etc, it has to be said that it does not behave as a chain. Locations are similar in design and still allowed to be different. The food we had was just a perfect lunch and we really enjoyed the whole experience. Worth a visit for sure.

One of the breakfasts was good, I found the other not worth it when it comes to the price, the workers were very friendly and the interior of the shop was really modern and clean, the selection of condiments is really great and their concept really helps Gaiser food waste. Their pastries to go looked great aswell.

The whole team is welcoming and attentive, offering great choices for everyone – whether you are vegetarian or not. Nice brunch spot, good bread nice comprehensive menu and good coffee.

We had great Belgian chocolate brownies and flat whites. Quick service and the outside seating area was nice. Only small complaint is that you have to go inside to the takeaway area to pay which took a bit of time for the queue to go down.

I visited this café expecting to enjoy my time, but unfortunately, the service was extremely poor. One of the waiters was incredibly rude and spoke to me in a very disrespectful manner, with no sense of courtesy or professionalism. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a place that welcomes customers. I hope the management addresses this issue and trains their staff better. I will not be returning and do not recommend this place based on how I was treated. Thanks

Products are what you’d expect from le pain Quotidien. But service is not the best. You place your order. They bring part of it. You wait and wait. You give up and go pay and mention that something wasn’t delivered. “Ah, we ran out”. And no one tells the client at the table? Maybe they’ll pay the whole thing and say nothing. Pity, because the place has everything to be nice.

Consistently fresh and delicious food, got water and a treat for our dog, and thoughtful of our kid’s allergies. Sometimes service can be slower but fast if you use the app.

Cappuccino was seriously lacking in flavour and overpriced. Croque-monsieur was OK but nothing special. I like the interior and service so it's a pity about the mediocre food/coffee.

The staff was very helpful. We ordered 4 chicken toasts with mozzarella €17.75 per plate and the toast came with very little of what the menu described. I consider it a big joke. Very overpriced!!!

Delicious cappuccino and pastries. There are several wonderful gluten free pastry options. The service is also spectacular with a warm and friendly staff.

Delicious pasteis de nata. As delicious as the ones I ate in Lisbon at the famous Pastéis de Belém. Crispy dough and tasty filling. Is heated while you wait. I tasted the “regular” version as well as the one with a hint of lemon. The latter is not bad, but I prefer the regular one. You can eat this inside, but the space looks a bit cold. On the sidewalk is a bench where you can also eat it. Detail: waitress used hand sanitizer, which is another plus.

What a terrific café! The most incredible, authentic pasteis de nata; much better than you will get in Lisbon. You can feel it is made with the original recipe. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The coffee is very good. Overall a fantastic place to take a 15 minute timeout.

The tarts are tasty and crisp, the coffee is just ok. They lose a point because the staff member just picks up the food with her bare hands, which is a bit gross Edit since the company responded: thanks for explaining but that is very prone to failure and it’s not a good look. You could just buy some tongs. I won’t change the score as I think this is silly and the coffee was not great.

We were driving from St Malo to Germany and made a quick stop in Brussels near Avenue Louise with my sister, brother, and brother-in-law. Le Pain Quotidien turned out to be the perfect choice. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent. The scrambled eggs were simply perfect — creamy, flavorful, and beautifully served. A lovely pause in our journey, and one we’d happily repeat!

The brioche pain perdu (French Toast) at Le Pain Quotidien was good. The brioche itself was very nice and truly delicious. The strawberries and blueberries were fresh, but the heavy crème wasn't what I was expecting. It was a bit too savory for my taste. Overall, it's almost there but not quite. Give it a try; you might like it.

I go there for convenience when I have a free moment and other cafes are closed: overrated. The food is heavy, greasy. I work in pastries, and the creams aren't well-prepared. They use cheap ingredients at high prices. The quality is that of a popular, budget-friendly cafe. Pure fame, they've stuck with that. Old school, poor quality.

Large range of sweets, cheesecakes, pies, croissants & co. Nice coffee too. In April they also had tables outside and the weather was perfect. Had breakfast here everyday while in Brussels, service was good enough and quite fast, even on a Saturday. The hard part was deciding what sweets to choose, considering the large range they have. They support both cash and card payments.

The place seems very cosy with nice ambience inside and a variety of desserts. It is a good place to enjoy a cup of coffee with a pie. The bakery’s staff seems very friendly and you feel like at home when you enter. The pie was very yummy and I really enjoyed the place and seating outside. The place is very well located. Well they have really good pastries but personally, their sandwiches are what i keep going for. Each and every single one is delicious. However, the place can get very busy during lunch hours so try to beat the line and go around 11:30 before most of the good bites are sold out. If you’re like me and enjoy french crepes, then pass by in the morning when they’re being made fresh and you’ll get a hot one.

Great patisserie for a sweet breakfast. There are a lot of choices, from full size cakes and slices, to muffins, cookies, croissants, portuguese specials (like nata). They have the usual coffee varieties and I did see people eating some fried eggs, so it might appeal to a more english breakfast type of person also, although I did not try it myself. Pricing is average, not a place you would call expensive, by any means. Location, if sitting outside, is calm in the morning, overlooking the market square of Jourdan. Has clean bathroom facilities and the staff speaks english also. Overall, great place to have a light breakfast.

Very nice pastry place where you can find very good cakes and also savory stuff: different quiches and sandwiches. Good for a light lunch or some nice time with friends. Only problem: it's open only until 18hrs. But for the rest, totally recommended!

Although the bread and cakes looked fine, the pastries were a bit sad. Definitely a step down from the former De Baere (understandable as that was the best in the country), but even so, not a reliable option for croissants. The photo shows a flat pastry that does not even hold its integrity. It seems everything may have been a day old? Sad.

Although the patisserie (i.e. the art itself) is without doubt of very high quality, their service is unfortunately not. I used their webshop (another bad idea) to order the "AMAZING CAKE NOEUD" on October 1st, to be picked up on October 10th for my wife's birthday. This is supposed to be a very special cake that needs to be ordered at least 4 days in advance and is only available on Saturdays and Sundays. So I arrived at the shop at 10am as agreed on the webshop order, and after waiting for about half an hour, an old lady told me that they had made a mistake and somehow missed (?!) my order. They had another cake exactly like mine, for another client, but with another filling, and probably didn't think that more than one client could order the same cake on the same day with different fillings. They offered to make the cake on the spot and I could come back in about an hour (!) to pick it up. Given no other option, that's what I did. As you can see in the photo below, that is hardly a cake worthy of the reputation of that patisserie. It was 3 layers of dry, bread-like dough, with some very thin layers of chocolate in between, hardly worth the 64€ that I paid for it. To cut a long story short, buy what you can see and find at the shop when you arrive, lots of tasty cakes and other options, but don't trust the webshop. UPDATE January 2023: More than 2 years later, I decided to try again. Guess what... I couldn't believe it either! Different cake, one of their most popular ones (I guess), and the lady at the counter tells me that they gave it to someone else who came earlier! 😮 They even had the audacity to ask me if somebody I know maybe came without me knowing! 🤦🏻‍♂️ In the end, after they saw my reaction, they finally found it 😌... but I mean, each order has a unique number, and I hope they're verifying who picks what, so how hard can it be???

Fantastic bakery! The shop has just been renovated so it looks posh and nice. I bought a pain au chocolat and it tasted like heaven. No skimping on chocolate and it was only 1,20€. Wonderful!

Absolutely fabulous cakes and sweet pastry! This patisserie is one of the best in Brussels. The Montblanc cake finished with massepain (it can be ordered with different toppings) is my personal all-time favourite! Update (9/2/2023): they don't make the Montblanc anymore, which is such a pity! We should all vote for the return of the Montblanc!

If you want your business to be run into the ground, be taken over by Charli. Extremely expensive for lesser quality than what De Baere used to offer - if of course you ever manage to buy something because they’re never open. I came a few days ago only to see that they were closed (they put a sign up with reduced hours), and today, Saturday at 11:20AM they were completely closed with no explanation given. If you don’t want my money, fine, I’ll go elsewhere. Such a shame, borderline tragedy, that this cultural institution is crashing and burning.

Sad. At 08:00 they were out of croissants and pains au chocolat. Very limited choice of pastry. They won’t last long. I walked out without buying anything.

Love this place! Bread is awesome, so are the croissants and the patisserie. They have good quiches as well. They are super friendly, multilingual, and working in good pace in a good team. Price-quality for this neighbourhood is fair.
