Points of Interest & Landmarks
Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden in Amritsar, India, known for its memorial to the tragic massacre of 13 April 1919. The garden features an eternal flame-shaped memorial and serves as a significant historical site. It is part of the Heritage Mile along with the Golden Temple and the Partition Museum.
Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar is a place which I always wanted to visit. More than a tourist destination; it's a very historical place historical which has left a lasting impression on every Indian. Having heard so much of the incident on 1919 when the British indiscriminately fired on and killed and wounded many Indians, visiting Jallianwala Bagh was a deeply moving and emotional experience for us. The moment you walk in, as you have heard a lot of on the event, you can feel the weight of history all around you. They have preserved bullet marks on the walls and the well with a tragic story behind it serve as powerful reminders of the sacrifices made during India's freedom struggle. Government has done some renovation also. A good step. The place brings in a strong sense of patriotism and gratitude. It is located at a walking distance near the revered Golden Temple, and a must see of any trip to Amritsar, offering a stark reminder of India's struggle for independence. A must visit historical monument for all Indians. There are a lot of informative displays and a garden area for reflection. The place was very crowded as we went on a weekend.

Visiting Jallianwala Bagh was a deeply emotional experience. The moment I entered, I could feel the weight of history in the air. The bullet marks on the walls and the Martyrs’ Well speak volumes about the pain and courage of those who stood here a century ago.The place is beautifully maintained and filled with stories that remind us what freedom truly cost. The eternal flame and memorial create a peaceful yet powerful atmosphere that leaves you silent and reflective. It’s not just a tourist spot — it’s a reminder of bravery, sacrifice, and the resilience of our nation. Every Indian should visit at least once.
Guru S — Google review
Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar is not just a tourist destination — it’s a sacred ground of history and sacrifice that every Indian carries in their heart. I had always wanted to visit this place, and being here was a deeply emotional and humbling experience. Having read and heard about the tragic incident of 1919, when innocent Indians were mercilessly fired upon by British troops, stepping inside the Bagh fills you with a powerful sense of grief and respect. You can almost feel the weight of history in the air. The preserved bullet marks on the walls and the Martyrs’ Well stand as silent yet powerful reminders of the immense courage and suffering of those who laid down their lives for our freedom. The recent renovations by the government have enhanced the site while maintaining its historical essence — a thoughtful step indeed. Located just a short walk from the Golden Temple, this memorial is an essential part of any visit to Amritsar. The informative displays, peaceful garden areas, and solemn atmosphere make it a place for reflection and gratitude. It was quite crowded when we visited over the weekend, but that only shows how strongly this place continues to touch the hearts of people. A must-visit historical monument for every Indian — one that rekindles patriotism, pride, and deep respect for our nation’s freedom fighters. 🇮🇳❤️
Yaduveer S — Google review
My visit to Jallianwala Bagh was one of the most emotional and meaningful experiences I’ve had while travelling. The moment you enter, the atmosphere itself feels heavy with history. This is not just a tourist spot—it’s a place that carries the pain, sacrifice, and bravery of countless innocent people who lost their lives on 13 April 1919. Walking through the narrow entrance, you immediately understand how trapped people must have felt during the tragic massacre. The preservation of the site is commendable. The bullet marks on the walls, the Martyrs’ Well, and the museum galleries are maintained with respect and detail. Each display, photograph, and written description helps you understand the magnitude of what happened here. The museum section is especially powerful, offering well-curated visuals, documents, and audio clips that make history come alive. The gardens and pathways are clean, the lighting is good, and the entire place is organized to handle heavy crowds. Despite being a popular tourist place, there’s a sense of silence and reflection everywhere. Security checks are smooth, and the staff is helpful in guiding visitors. In my opinion, Jallianwala Bagh is a must-visit landmark for every Indian. It’s not only a place to see but a place to feel. You leave with a deeper understanding of our freedom struggle and immense respect for the martyrs who sacrificed everything. Highly recommended for students, families, and anyone visiting Amritsar.
Okesh R — Google review
Jallianwala Bagh is one of the most historic places in India, carrying the painful memory of the tragic massacre of 1919. Visiting this site is both an emotional and educational experience, as it reminds us of the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle. The preserved walls with bullet marks and the memorial serve as powerful symbols of the disaster that should never be forgotten. The site is maintained well and provides proper historical explanations through displays and plaques, making it easier for visitors to understand the events that unfolded here. One of the best things about Jallianwala Bagh is that there is no entry fee, so anyone can walk in and pay their respects. It is located very close to the Golden Temple, which makes it convenient to cover both in the same trip. The garden closes at 5 p.m., so visiting early is recommended not only to avoid the harsh sun but also to have ample time to explore peacefully. Be cautious, though, as there are occasional pickpocketing incidents reported around the area, and police presence is limited. On the brighter side, the place is surrounded by plenty of restaurants. Entry and exit are through different gates, ensuring smooth movement of visitors.
Aniruth G — Google review
The place is well maintained and there’s no entry fee. You can easily spend a couple of hours exploring around and understanding the history connected to this site. As you walk through, you’ll come across many untold stories. some displayed, some narrated by locals or guides. A must-visit place in Amritsar to truly feel a part of India’s past.
Santhosh B — Google review
Jallianwala Bagh is a powerful and emotional historic place that reminds us of the tragic 1919 massacre. The bullet marks and the Shaheed Well clearly show the pain and sacrifice of innocent people. The small museum inside provides simple and useful information about what happened that day. The atmosphere is peaceful, yet filled with deep emotions. Overall, it is a must-visit place to understand India’s freedom struggle and pay respect to the martyrs.
Gagan S — Google review
Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar is a poignant historical site that stands as a solemn reminder of India’s struggle for freedom. The well-preserved memorial, with its Martyrs’ Wall and commemorative plaques, evokes deep respect and reflection. Walking through the garden, one can feel the weight of history and the sacrifice of countless innocent lives. The site is maintained with care, offering informative displays and a tranquil atmosphere for visitors to pay homage. Visiting Jallianwala Bagh is both educational and emotional, leaving a lasting impression of courage, resilience, and the spirit of India’s independence movement.

Hotel
Hotel Aura Grand Amritsar by Levelup Hotels & Resorts is a modest city center hotel with a laid-back restaurant and Wi-Fi. Some guests were disappointed to be charged for welcome tea/coffee after just one night's stay, and found the service lacking in hospitality. However, others had a great experience, especially appreciating the clean rooms and bathrooms, as well as the tasty breakfast.
We reached out to them on a very short notice for an early check in, they were generous enough to allot a quick accommodation. The hotel room was clean, spacious and bright. The staff was helpful and humble. Would recommend staying here if visiting Amritsar
Happy P — Google review
The stay was very disappointing. Rooms were small, the AC was not working, and even basic requests like an extra mattress were delayed until 1 AM. The dining area was extremely suffocating and not well managed, while the food quality was just average. Overall, service and comfort need serious improvement.
Mittal P — Google review
Very good services room neat and clean front office staff very professional we shall come back after 2 month highly recommend this hotel in Amritsar city.
Gurjeet S — Google review
Terrible hotel. We picked this hotel based on online reviews. Big mistake. This hotel is advertised as a 4 star hotel, but in reality this is barely a 2 star. Don't be fooled by the numerous positive reviews. This hotel is on a very narrow lane. Our car could not even get near the hotel. You have to navigate a narrow dirty lane to reach the hotel from the main road. The corridor space near the rooms is littered with dirty linen and other items. We spent an hour at the hotel, then we booked another hotel and left. We did not dare try the food there, so cannot comment on the food.
Ratnesh S — Google review
pathetic and horrible ! we were group of 8 and had booked 3 rooms based on reviews and star rating I should say the rooms are sub standard and no way this can be a 4star hotel All the rooms had issues. Room didn't had set top box .AC had issues and rooms are too suffocated. No parking facility .One of the room key was not there and had to depend on room service every time .Food was below standard. All and all pl avoid this hotel and don't get carried away with 4 star rating
Rakesh B — Google review
Hotel Aura Grand Hotel Aura Grand offers good rooms that are neat and clean, providing a comfortable stay. However, the food quality is average with limited menu options, which may not satisfy all tastes. The service tends to be slow at times, which can be frustrating for guests.
Varad T — Google review
Worst of worst hotel i have ever visited. Its a kind of Lodge service and not at all 4 star hotel. Don’t book based on positive ratings. Below are the things we badly experienced- 1) No parking area at all. 2) Towels were stinky, oily smelling and wet. 3) They allotted room even they know that AC was not working. 4) Bugs were also our partner on bed 5) Mudy water that is clearly visible with small stone granules. 6) Slop of water is not proper in bathroom due to which water remains and not drained. 7) Dining area is not hygiene. 8) Bedding was not fresh. 9) No proper power backup. Some people got stuck in lift in front of me and was helpless. Multiple times electricity cutout. Overall no fresh and positive vibe in hotel. We fully regret for booking this hotel.

A1 service. It's nothing short of a 5-star hotel. The stay at this hotel is an experience in itself. The staff is so friendly. 100/10 for their hospitality. There's a lady in specs that serves breakfast, the fact that she remembers every guest's order is remarkable. I will recommend this hotel to everyone out there.
Aena R — Google review
I had a nice stay at the hotel until our last night. Cleaning staff came into the room uninvited. I noticed this and checked my bag and saw that my emergency Australian cash stash was missing. There was discussion by management with the staff but money never showed up. Very disappointing end to a fairly nice stay. Staff seemed to be coming into rooms regularly when we weren’t around, other people in my travel group agreed. The management did provide me some Rupees as apology, which was appreciated, but it was not close to the amount I lost.
Josh W — Google review
Total waste of money – not worth even a single star Very disappointed with my stay. The hotel doesn’t provide even basic facilities. No pool access on weekdays for which we chose this hotel, and when it is available, the timings are extremely limited. No breakfast buffet on weekdays either, which was shocking for the price charged. The rooms lacked basic amenities like water bottles, glasses, towels, and slippers. Definitely not worth the money. Avoid this place – limited facilities, zero value. Absolute waste of money.
SHUBHAM A — Google review
I brought a group of ladies from England to stay at this hotel. We were very well looked after by the staff. The breakfast and food generally was great. The rooms are a little tired and the swimming pool was shut when we were there but for overall value for money and service i would recommend this hotel and I look forward to returning next year!
Theresa — Google review
Great Experience. Behaviour Of The Staffs Are Awesome And Cooperative. Also Food etc Are Also Great. Pool Is Also Clean. Parking Is Also Good. The Only Drawback Is Rooms Are A Bit Outdated And Needs Minor Renovations.
Debsankar S — Google review
The ambience was nice, Calm and quite place. I had dinner and breakfast there, it was beyond my expectations, varieties of food items available. They didn't provide room for our driver This is the Only one thing that disappointed me. They let the driver to Sleep inside the vehicle, This is a safety issue as the driver should get enough rest for safe driving.
Lineesh P — Google review
Stayed two night at the Ritz. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean but a little tired. Breakfast was very nice with good choice and very tasty French toast. It's a little far from the centre but only Rs200 on the Tuk-Tuk. As we had a late flight out the staff even offered a room to wash and change after a day wandering around Amritsar. Golden temple is a must but also the border ceremony is spectacular, do not miss.

Rooms are neat and clean but doors are properly fitted. Lack of ventilation in the room.
Shankar P — Google review
My recent stay at Hotel M.A International was enjoyable overall. The staff's behavior was exemplary, demonstrating professionalism and friendliness throughout my visit. The bathrooms were consistently clean, contributing to a pleasant stay experience. Their helpful attitude further enhanced the quality of service provided. However, it's worth noting that there was no wifi available in the rooms, which may inconvenience some guests who rely on internet access during their stay. Additionally, the absence of extra amenities such as a shop or extra towels in the rooms could be improved upon to enhance guest convenience and comfort. Despite these minor shortcomings, I still had a positive experience at Hotel M.A International and would consider staying again in the future.

One of the worst hotel in Amritsar. Ideally I don't want to give 1 star also. Very Congested n dirty rooms with dirty bathroom. Food quality very poor. Staff service 0 marks. Inspite of telling while booking they didn't give us AC remote. It's in Managers hands. U have to call him everytime even in midnight to start or to stop ur AC . Disgusting. I recently stayed at Hotel 49 during my visit to Amritsar and found it to be a decent option for the price. The service provided was commendable, especially considering the affordable price point. However, there were a few areas that could be improved upon, such as room service and the availability of amenities like a kettle in the room. Despite these minor shortcomings, overall, it was a satisfactory stay given the price paid. The hotel is located on a peaceful road without much traffic disturbances.

Booked this hotel for marriage function…when baraat entered after anand karaj in the afternoon, waiters were rolling empty trolleys and manager behaved very rudely with us when complained. He said we don’t serve appetizers after 2 pm though it is the duty of the hotel staff to arrange all those stuff for baraat. Manager behaviour was totally disrespectful. If you don’t want to spoil your happy occasion, I would say a big No for this hotel. Worst staff, worst hospitality.

Hotel was in prime location. Just 200 mts from golden temple entry. Mannat's behaviour was very good. Langar house was on right side when we go towards golden temple. Dinner and breakfast was good. We have taken half board food option for 1 night stay. On saturday and sunday , rush might be there as the roads are very narrow towards hotel from main road. Ppl should not blame hotel for this. For weekdays, its all good.

Stayed here twice, once in 2019 and recently. It was really good back then. Unfortunately, the hotel has not been maintained well. The toilet bowl is stained, the shower does not work properly, there were cockroaches in the room. However, the staff were really quick to help and very friendly. Hope the owners could do more to clean up the hotel back to how it was before. Location is also pretty good, only about 3-5 minutes walk Harmandir Sahib.

Hotel Mercury Inn by Sonachi 8558820852 is a modest hotel offering straightforward rooms with en suite wet rooms and views of the Golden Temple. It's conveniently located just a three-minute walk from the Harmandir Sahib, making it an ideal choice for those wanting to be close to this star attraction. The hotel provides well-sanitized and nicely-cleaned rooms, with the option for balcony views in some of them.
"Exceptional stay! Staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. Room was spotless and comfortable. Perfect location for exploring. Delicious tea & coffee, too! Highly recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable experience."

Worst Hotel Experience – Not Recommended This was by far the worst hotel experience I've had. The initial room we were given was too small for a family, and we had to pay an extra 2000 rupees to upgrade to a bigger room. The entire property was under renovation, with construction debris cluttering the balconies, making them unusable and unsafe. While the hotel's proximity to the Golden Temple is advertised as a plus, it was actually a major inconvenience as taxis and four-wheelers struggle to access the narrow roads leading to the property. The facilities were subpar; the room phone didn’t work, forcing us to walk to the reception for every small request. Basic amenities were lacking, and they even charged extra for drinking water. Overall, I would not recommend staying here.

No clothing hanging in the bathrooms. They only cost for the rooms and ACs. To be honest they show their hotel to be very fake. No doubt the hotel in 10 steps away from the golden temple. The hotel is old but there are chits bits of new essentials. No recommended.

I didn't like the stay here. I have booked this hotel for 4 nights from make my trip app. But did the check out the very next day, room lock was very hard to open or even to close. The room was inconvenient to stay in. The food ordered to eat, it came late but it also was cold. Hygiene was not proper to stay. Without arguing with the receptionist did the check-out but still they didn't give us a refund, saying that we left and had a dispute with them. Very bad experience of staying over here. Just a plus point is the entrance to the golden temple is walking distance, hardly 5 mins.

Thank you so much for such a pleasant and wonderful stay at Hotel Cabana. We really enjoyed our time there and received a warm welcome from Mr. Robin. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious, and the staff were kind enough to accommodate our preferences. Family Room was specious but furniture was from "baba aadam ka zamana".... overnight AC was getting off several times due to power fluctuations and I am sure staff would be unbothered....Had to call 3 times for simple room service like Towel and I literally came to reception to see what this reception guy is doing after saying "aa raha hai aa raha hai sir " for 15 minutes..no variety in breakfast....and food items available was also having below average taste... Check out time was 11.00 AM and some duffer guy called me @ 9.00 " sir check out kab ka bai aapka ?gaddi kab hat rahi hai parking se ? " So they can accommodate next guests... 😡I think staffs were forgetting they are in hospitality business and have to behave like that.... It's not Level up....it's Level down.. Hotel not recommended at all..

Situated in the posh area of Ranjit Avenue, it provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace, and a restaurant. The property is conveniently close to popular attractions such as the Golden Temple, Durgiana Temple, and Jallianwala Bagh.
A Truly Wonderful and Home-Like Stay As someone who is a bit older and appreciates the comforts of home, I can't recommend De Manora Homes enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. The staff's behavior was absolutely fantastic—a perfect 10/10. Their warmth and kindness made all the difference. I was particularly grateful for the thoughtful amenities. The home-cooked food was a highlight of my stay, providing not just nourishment but also a genuine sense of care. Additionally, the staff was incredibly helpful with our itinerary discussions, offering great suggestions and making sure our plans were smooth and enjoyable. My room was impeccably clean, and the entire property was well-maintained. The attention to detail truly made this feel like a second home. I will definitely be returning on my next visit.

We had a one-day stay at this homestay, and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms were neat, clean, and well-maintained. The staff was extremely polite and available 24/7 for any assistance. The highlight of our stay was the owner—truly one of the most welcoming and helpful hosts we've encountered. He personally guided us on how to visit the Golden Temple, explaining everything in detail, and also provided a list of local food spots and shopping areas to explore. His warm hospitality made us feel right at home. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about booking this place because of all the 5-star reviews—I thought they might be fake. But after experiencing it myself, I can confidently say this property genuinely deserves every single 5-star rating. Without a doubt, I would stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommended!

It was like a home away from home. We travelled with a baby and they provided food specifically made for the baby as per our instructions. The owner was informative and provided us a detailed itinerary with restaurant suggestions. Most important thing was his information about Golden temple which helped us understand the history and culture of the temple. Kudos to the whole team.

"Excellent Stay at De Manora Homes - My Go-To for Work Trips in Amritsar" As an exhibitor, finding the right accommodation is always a challenge. I need a place that is not only comfortable but also conveniently located and, most importantly, fits my budget. De Manora Homes ticked all these boxes and more! The location is ideal. It's close to the exhibition ground, making my daily commute a breeze, and it’s also well-connected to every part of the city, which was a huge plus for my work-related travel. For a business trip where cost-cutting is essential, I found De Manora Homes to be an incredible value for money. They offer all the comforts you would expect from a good hotel—clean and spacious rooms, a great host, and all the essential amenities—but at a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend booking directly with them to get the best discounts. The hospitality was exceptional, and it truly felt like a home away from home. I was so impressed with my stay that I've decided this will be my permanent choice whenever I'm in Amritsar for work. I can't recommend De Manora Homes enough for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and budget-friendly stay. It's a gem!

This trip to Amritsar turned out to be my best experience yet. During my last visit, I stayed at a hotel that left me disappointed, but this homestay completely changed my perspective. Everything—from the room to the hospitality—was far better than I could have imagined, and all at a very reasonable price. What made it even more special was the personal touch: the owner himself welcomed us warmly, which is something you rarely come across. He not only guided us but also took the time to share stories and the rich history of Harmandir Sahib. It was truly memorable, and I know this will be my go-to place every time I return to Amritsar.

When I did my check-in, the staff was friendly. The room looked relatively clean but it was not. When I dropped my pen and it rolled under the bed, I bent down and saw it was completely dirty under the bed. Even though there were adequate amenities, the bathroom was not enough separation for the shower and toilet. Then after the first night, I saw dead flies on the room floor. No idea where they came from. The only positive is the hotel is near to the railway station and golden temple.
Bala S — Google review
I booked this hotel for 2 night on Aug 14 and 15, 2025, expecting a comfortable experience, but it was nothing short of a nightmare. The room height was shockingly low, making it feel cramped and suffocating. The air conditioning didn’t work at all, leaving the room hot and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, dirty water was coming from the bathroom taps and shower, which was absolutely unacceptable. I would strongly advise avoiding this place until they fix these serious issues. Further the behaviour of the hotel manager was rude and neither they refunded our money nor they have changed the pathetic room.

Title: Disappointed with My Stay I stayed with my family at Sagar residency, hal gate, Amritsar on 06 & 07.07.25, and unfortunately, my experience was not up to expectations. Cleanliness: The room was not clean when I arrived. The bedsheets had stains, and the bathroom was dirty. Service: The staff was unhelpful and unresponsive. I reported the issues, but no action was taken. Facilities: Many of the promised amenities were either not working or unavailable — AC not functioning, Cattle etc.. Noise/Comfort: Too noisy to sleep due to nearby transportation Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I hope the management takes customer feedback seriously and improves the service and hygiene for future guests.

We were in Amritsar visiting the Golden Temple and just needed a place to rest for a few hours. The room was supposed to be available for 7:30 p.m but when we were shown the room it was close to 9p.m. Then the room we were shown was not the correct one, we booked a King Bed Room and were taken to a Queen Bed Room. The rooms smelt terrible and did not feel clean or hygienic at all. Instead of understanding our concerns and being apologetic the hotel staff told us they would not refund our deposit and we could check-out if we wanted, which is exactly what we did we did not stay due to the bad state of the rooms and even worst customer service by the staff. **DON'T GO BY THE PICS, THEY ARE FALSE ADVERTISING! Thank you for memorable stay. Staff and hospitality is superb with delicious food. Despite quite low occupancy due to floods in punjab, resort is well managed and maintained. By next year they are building additional rooms.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Earth Amritsar, and it was truly a beautiful and memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed into a space that blends heritage, architecture, and genuine warmth. The resort itself is stunning. It's a perfect mix of old-world charm and modern comfort. The staff informed us that the property is a restored 130-year-old heritage structure, originally built as the Victoria Jubilee Hospital. The building has been thoughtfully transformed into a luxury resort while preserving its grand arches, high ceilings, and historic character, making it a truly unique place to stay in Amritsar. Although located in the heart of the city, once inside the resort, you’re surrounded by peace and tranquility. Our room was spacious, and designed with care. The service was exceptional throughout our stay. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. Unlike many curated luxury resorts that sometimes feel impersonal, The Earth Amritsar has a genuine homely charm. You feel like a valued guest rather than just a visitor, which makes all the difference. Overall, our stay at The Earth Amritsar was far more than just a luxurious getaway — it was an experience filled with history, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Amritsar. It’s truly a hidden gem that leaves a lasting impression.

Located in the heart of Amritsar and very close the famous Bubbi chicken. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. Still has the old architecture in the rooms with luxury. Highly recommend staying here.
Elton N — Google review
So, currently I am staying at this property. The rooms are good BUT They have the worst service, there is no water and they are saying some engineer technical issue. Then there is no swimming pool cleaning and can't access as no or dirty water. They are have major water issue. Even though the food court adjoining them water is working fine there. Means the hotel has mangement issue. And above all you can't checkout before hand also as they take the advance payment upfront only which is first time in my lifelong experience of visiting hotels everywhere. They are now giving water through buckets. I mean paying so much money for such bad service is just disheartening for our family as it is our hard earned money. Since the moment we have check-in they are making plenty of excuses. And this is clearly defincent service. They also didn't warn us about no swimming pool no water these issues should be told beforehand rather than scamming your guests.
SHREYASI K — Google review
Our stay at The Earth was outstanding from start to finish. The service was warm and professional, the rooms were elegant and spotless, and the amenities — including the pool, and restaurants — were top-notch. Also staff was polite and helpful especially the front desk. Every detail reflected true five-star quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway.
Muskan M — Google review
Rooms were spacious and location wise one of the best, in heart of city yet very peaceful. Staffs need to be more trained and professional. On multiple accounts we faced issues but no service recovery. A part of property still under construction. Food was great.
NISHANT S — Google review
I am currently staying here. The rooms are big, spacious, and quiet, but there is a major issue with water availability. Yesterday morning, there was no water in the taps. When I called room service, they mentioned problems with the motor and pressure pump—it took hours to resolve, leaving us without water all that time. This morning, the water pressure was again almost nonexistent, and management said they were trying to restore it manually. Been couple of hours, now they are saying that we can supply water through buckets only On top of that, the breakfast menu today is completely identical to yesterday’s. The poha looked stale, as if it hadn’t been touched since the previous day.

I had an amazing experience during my stay here. All the main attractions, such as the Golden Temple, Durgiana Temple, and the local market, are within walking distance. The staff is incredibly humble and kind, providing great value for money. I would also like to mention Mr. Arsh, who was exceptionally supportive. When I had trouble finding the hotel, he explained all the routes to my taxi driver in a very polite manner. He was quick to resolve any queries I had.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The family room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable and exactly as shown in the photos—clean, well-maintained, and super comfortable. perfect for traveling with kids. The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the Golden Temple, which made our visit even more special. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, a great experience and we would definitely stay here again!

I had an amazing stay at Hotel Backpackers ! The rooms were spotless, modern, and super comfy. The staff, especially Mr.Arsh, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Always with a smile and great recommendations for local spots. The location is perfect for exploring as everything is just within a 1 km radius. Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!

Backpackers Nest Hotel is located at a perfect spot in Amritsar — everything is nearby! Major attractions like the Partition Museum, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Golden Temple are all within walking distance. Even famous dhabas are just a short walk away, and the auto stand is barely 50 meters from the hotel, making commuting very easy. The rooms were quite spacious and comfortable, although they could use a bit more attention to cleanliness. The staff, however, were very supportive, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Overall, it’s a great budget-friendly option if you want a convenient and hassle-free stay near the heart of the city.

A fantastic place to unwind and relax. The estate dag 'Hachi' and the estate turtle ' Sheru' are a delight. Very friendly staff. A true tribute to the amritsari hospitality.

I only stayed here briefly between a visit to the Golden Temple and an early morning flight. I would have liked to spend more time seeing the grounds. Even in the dark it was clear that they would be stunningly picturesque. The staff were fantastic and made getting to the airport a smooth experience. The decor in the room was lovely. I appreciated staying somewhere where the culture was showcased rather than the usual generic, western look devoid of personality. Only lacking one star as sometimes comfort was sacrificed for aesthetics. The room entrance door didn't fully close which could let in mosquitos in warmer months and the faucets didn't function smoothly. Very minor detractors though and I would happily visit again.
Jessica F — Google review
Average property, certainly not 5 star one, an average 3 star property! Reaching the property is tough, bad roads as its in a secluded area. We had booked two rooms, both of them did not have ACs working, changed both. Rooms were not great. Average food, less no of items and the taste was okay. They were not open to feedback as well, kept defending the weather for all issues.
S V — Google review
The hotel exudes an old-era theme with the room decor, restaurantand outer areas. Despite the vintage feel, the rooms are well-equipped with modern amenities. The food served is absolutely delicious.
Prasad — Google review
We stayed at the property for 3 Days 2 nights. It is near the airport and going to Golden temple is a 20-25 minute travel. The property is beautiful, very spacious and the rooms are larger and well kept than most other places. Each room has its own balcony facing the garden which adds to the experience. The aesthetic has been maintained like belonging to a typical punjabi pind! While this works for the room, the washrooms could be better and modern as most people are used to that. It was a great experience staying here, the staff is very hospitable, and the room service is super fast!

This hotel is fabulous! The architecture of the buildings reminds me of the medieval times. The rooms are great. Service is excellent. Food is amazing too.

I wanted to give zero stars, but since that's not an option, I'm giving one. This was one of the worst experiences I've had. The AC wasn't working, making the room unbearably hot, and the staff didn't turn it on earlier. The room and washroom had a terrible smell, suggesting it hadn't been opened in a long time. When I complained, the receptionist was unhelpful, stating that since I booked online, they couldn't assist me. Extremely disappointing.

Hotel Puri Grand is a no-nonsense 3-star guesthouse located near Madan Lal Dhingra Statue and Raja Sansi International airport. It's an ideal choice for those wanting to stay near the Golden Temple area, offering unassuming rooms with amenities like TVs, A/C, parking, and Wi-Fi. While the location on a narrow road and occasional bathroom odor are noted as drawbacks, the hotel is recommended for budget stays near the Golden Temple.

"Horrific Nightmare - Avoid at All Costs!" My November 3-5, 2024 stay at Hotel Puri Grand was beyond horrible. No normal water, no working geyser, no AC, and the room stank. The rude staff ignored my requests, making me visit reception 9 times for basic warm water—complete torture! Landline broken, zero communication, lies about a "fire." This disaster ruined my trip, delaying my Golden Temple visit by 1.5 hours daily. Don't risk it; this hotel will ruin your stay!
Tushar C — Google review
Worst place you can find to stay, rooms were smelly, people were rude, bedsheet have stains smelly, they showed different room and gave different room and it was smelly mirrors were broken they scammed us, when we ask for return they denied and started fighting with us. We left the place and they took our 700 rs in name of fresh up, Please find any other place to stay

Mihin C — Google review
I visited this hotel on 24th June 2024. The cost of 3 days stay was Rs 3000. Earlier it was Rs 1350/day. After depositing the first payment of Rs 1500, the remaining payment will be given at the time of departure. The hotel owner is just fine. But on the 2nd day they started demanding the remaining payment. First day services(to turn on water in bathroom & AC ) 2-3 times. The remaining payment on the 2nd day should be deposited by the hotel owner. I said that I have to stay for 2 days, you will take rs 2000 for 2 days. But he says that this cannot happen. Hotel owner started talking about humanity. There was no talk of money. If you have taken money then provide services accordingly. "Be aware of this..."

Not a price worthy hotel. It Asks double or sometimes triple rate. Mainly there is a sardarji manager, he only needs the money. Do not think about the rooms. The amenities are not well..... sometimes TV ,AC doesn't work well. Do Not stay here.

It's in a small lane. Pathetic condition outside the hotel with overflowing drains and stinking. The rooms are not ventilated. Need to ask for every service like AC, linens, towels, water, TV etc.... And few rooms are too small and dirty. Only positive is it's walkable distance to partition museum, golden temple and jalianwala bagh
Pavan K — Google review
Recently stayed here for 3 nights and my worst hotel experience till date. On google you'll see very nice pics but they seems old which might have been taken when the guest house was constructed. Current situation of room is worst. Room is very small, almost no ventilation (luckily we got AC). Room is full of foul smell and damp walls. Access to this guest house is quite narrow so car cant go easily, our car driver denied to come there. I had booked it for last 4 months and reminded the owner 2 times before I arrived but still my room was not ready on my arrival. Never order tea otherwise you'll get sugar syrup. The only best part is the location, all the important places are walkable like golden temple, jaliawala baag, partition museum. Overall experience is bad.

객실은 모르겠으나 매니저의 서비스는 5성급 My stay at this hotel in Amritsar was truly memorable, thanks to the outstanding service from Abhinav. He helped me with a complicated bus reservation issue and went above and beyond to ensure everything was sorted out. His professionalism and genuine care made me feel so well taken care of. The hotel was clean and comfortable, but the service was what made it exceptional. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others visiting the city.

Super friendly and attentive staff, able to link with local guides, transport options and provide a good laundry service. Very affordable. No lift so several flights of stairs depending where your room is, but staff happy to help with bags. Complimentary breakfast and offered tea/coffee in the evening though we didn’t take up the offer.

Extremely Unsafe – Avoid at All Costs! Positive reviews are fake! This place is infested with bed bugs — the bed was crawling with them, making it impossible to sleep. It’s extremely unsafe, especially for families and women. The environment felt shady and uncomfortable. On top of that, the people managing this lodge are fraudulent and dishonest. I strongly urge others to stay away for your safety and peace of mind. Beware before booking!

I even didn't stay in this place, but I still will give their service 5 stars. I booked 3 nights in this place in May 2025, but because of my personal medical situation, I had to cancel my trip in the very last minute. I sent request to the hotel to ask them to waive the cancelation fee as big favor. Surprisingly, they contacted me on whatsapp and they accepted my request. I even didn't arrive in Amritsar, but I can feel the friendship and kindness of the owner. I would say thanks again and will see you soon in Amritsar when I visit in my next trip. The property provides various amenities such as massages, body treatments, and facials at the spa. Additionally, guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi access and concierge services during their stay.
Such a wonderful gem. This place is tranquility itself, with wonderful people and delicious food that follows a farm to fork philosophy. We did not use the spa facilities that are also available, though can see how well that would fit into the overall ambience. The building is filled with history and beautifully decorated. The rooms are very spacious and incredibly comfortable. As you wander from your room to the breakfast area, or library, or sitting room you pass tranquil gardens and many a nook and cranny to tuck yourself away into. The team here are happy to help organise anything you might wish to do. I can not recommend it enough.

A hark back to colonial times, full of old photos and antiques. Rooms are set around courtyard gardens with a maze of stairs and walkways, each room having an outside or covered terrace seating area. Hi The hotel staff were very nice and helpful and room services were great and excellent . The best word that i can said is well maintained hospitality in this hotel . For the long stays they provide stay over service every day and change the bedsheets. Moreover the staff were professional and cordial. Thirdly the hotel is closed to golden temple and other locations. We would certainly look forward to stay in this hotel for our future trips .

Experience was too bad. The guy we met on the reception ,don't know how to talk to customers . We just asked him while checking out is one bottle of water complementry or not. Only simple question in Punjabi.. Cause he charged us for 4 bottles. After hearing this question (in Punjabi) He started talking in english ,insulted us.,telling us that don't beg for water.and all kind of nonsense. We tried to give him money for 4 bottles to avoid the noice.but still he got more angry and threw the money on our face, telling us keep the money with you. We requested him to take the money and let us go. But no way. He forced us to go outside and change the money and give it to him. Later on We came to know that this guy is owner's son in law. Guys we met last night while checking in were very decent. Both of them are well mannered, civilized. They know very well that how to convince the customer. But this guy with turban with trimmed beard. (London returned ,as he said)...don't know what to say about him....

This place is amazing! Without a doubt the best service I've had at a hotel - not only in India, but probably any country. The staff is amazing and incredibly helpful and service-minded. You can really tell they care about quality of service. The place is clean and looks great, which isn't always easy to find around here. The location was perfect for us since it wasn't too hectic or noisy, compared to a lot of the places in the center. As foreigners, it really helped that they spoke great English. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough - they absolutely deserve their rating!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Wonderful Stay – Exceptional Service and Polite Staff! I recently stayed at Crown Savoy, Amritsar and had an absolutely pleasant experience from check-in to check-out. The service was top-notch, and every member of the staff I interacted with was incredibly polite, friendly, and professional. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed. The front desk staff were efficient and kind, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. They also provided helpful recommendations for nearby restaurants and attractions, which made exploring the area much easier. My room was spotless, well-appointed, and very comfortable — perfect for a relaxing stay. Housekeeping was consistent and thorough, always respecting my space while ensuring everything was clean and well-stocked. One of the highlights of my stay was the attentive service throughout the hotel. Whether it was the concierge, the restaurant staff, or even maintenance, everyone went out of their way to ensure guests were comfortable and satisfied. It's clear that the hotel places a high value on hospitality and guest experience. I would highly recommend Crown Savoy for stay to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-run hotel with exceptional service and genuinely polite staff. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit!

Experience matched the price paid for the accommodation + Five minute auto-rickshaw ride from the station which was great after a long train journey. Rahul wanted to be helpful and was friendly. The price we paid for the hotel is comparable to the experience and facilities. - Hot water didn't work on the first night and only lasted five minutes the second. The room also needed a good clean. The hotel also looked mid-construction despite the room being "well-lived in", with an open lift shaft and plastering being done at 10pm on a wall by the stairs to the rooms.

Some of us stayed at a relative’s home but my aunt, my cousin, and I wanted our own accommodations. We found this hotel to be very fantastic for our ASR stay. ROOMS - very good PRICE - quite on the higher side but worth it (2k/night for deluxe) CLEANNESSES - good as per the price LOCATION - on the main highway road, however auto rates might be high initially for tourist, hence need to bargain. PEOPLE - both receptionists guys were very polite & humble, and the room service guy was very helpful aswell. In short, i found this stay very worthwhile & safe. Only minus point is that there is some issue with hot water for bathing. Idk

I usually avoid leaving negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience as I genuinely cannot understand the high ratings for this hotel. Cleanliness was non-existent—our sheets were visibly dirty, and the bathroom was in such poor condition that it was completely unusable. We traveled from London to visit The Golden Temple and had only planned to stay for one night. Due to time constraints, we only gave the rooms a quick glance upon arrival. However, when we returned and inspected further, we realized just how bad the condition of the room was. Unfortunately, with a group of 12 people, it was too late to find alternative accommodation. The sheets were so dirty that we had no choice but to sleep fully clothed. The state of the bathroom was unacceptable, to the point that we avoided using the shower altogether. We left the hotel unwashed and only managed to shower in Punjab more than 24 hours after landing. I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless significant improvements are made to cleanliness and hygiene.

We stayed for three nights. We had very bad experiences with many things. Rooms r ok but bedsheets were not clean. Towels were all dirty even they told they washed it. Hot water was not there around 9 pm till morning. They turned off from there office and we couldn’t take showers. Bathroom are not up to date. Broken faucet. People working there were nice but don’t know how to manage office. Gave credit card they swiped four times and it got charged four times. Manager was not there and no one knew how to reverse. Then we paid the balance by cash and asked them repeatedly to cancel the card payment but they didn’t and didn’t answer our email. After all that we tipped the guys for their nice behavior but don’t know how is the owner who can’t manage the cleanliness of his property and also don’t know how to run a business or office or may be it was done intentionally. Took money no receipt. Didn’t reverse the card payment.

The staff was wonderful, especially the lady at the front desk and the gentleman with an endearing smile who made sure we had a warm cup of tea before we left. He spoke so much about the rituals at the Darbar that we could easily imagine it all. The hotel is within walking distance of Shri Darbar Sahib, in a busy area with shops around. I had a comfortable stay. Food is of OK quality. But during check out was not given a bill and was charged rs 200 for spoiling the bedsheet. Also the housekeeping has to be reminded a no of times to clean the room. One guest borrowed my smartphone charger and the very next day checked out . So I was kind of robbed. But overall a good one.

A wonderful place!! Located very close to Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple). An ideal location for a stay ranging from a day to a week. The local market is also nearby. Wonderful ambience and good food. A courteous staff also highlights the delight of this quaint little place.

On my stay at this hotel for two days 21 & 22nd November 24 , during checkout my winter jacket was left out at Hotel room. On immediate recall, rush to hotel & ask for jacket the room owner check the CC camera photage randomly & house keeping staff theft very smartly, collected at used Bed sheets for laundry. During my flight ✈️ hurry, couldn't able to interrogate throughly !! Unfortunate, hotel owner promised for his sincere chek & feedback on the same. But, when I called from my native location, simply told the hotel owner, my staff didn't collected any such jacket. Very irresponsible & thieves supportive hotel. Bad experience at such Holy place.

First of all the entrance of hotel is in a dark small alley where not even a two wheeler can be driven I have added the photo of entrance gate, not suitable for family. Rooms were small not maintained, windows didn't shut properly, bathroom was tiny geyser was not working properly. Only good thing was staff was helpful and room was 300 m from gurudwara

i booked 2 rooms for 5 adults..in my room AC and geyser both weren't working.. TVs weren't functioning in both rooms.. room space was also less... and mattresses were hard like rock.. stayed there because i paid in advance.. good part was location only..

Very disappointed with the service. I booked them on call and told them that we have to stay for 2 days. They took 1000 in an advance and said that i have to pay 700 on the next day. But when we reached there and they got a new booking at higher cost they cancelled my booking and told me to leave the room at 12. Moreover the room was not clean at all and had mice. When I complained about that they told them to kill them by myself. I mean seriously???? Is this their service? M very disappointed with their service... I am never going to book them ever again.
