I went with the Row Burger which was, overall, pretty tasty, although again, there were a few slight nitpicks. At first, the meat patty itself seemed to have a strange, crunch texture to it, which I only realized later was the due to the included pickles. Now, normally I love pickles on a burger, and the flavor of these was excellent, but something about the texture of them was...off. I've never had a negative experience with pickles on a burger, and I wouldn't say this was, either, yet...something needs to be changed, even just slightly. Different pickles, longer marinade time...something to change up the interaction between protein and pickle. It's not enough to ruin anything, but it was definitely distracting. The burger could also use a slightly stronger, savory seasoning of some sort, whether that be a steak sauce, mustard, or something else to give it a little extra tang and kick! Service was alright, although closer to non-existent, and the wait time for out food to arrive was notably longer than should be, especially considering how few other customers were present, and most of them arrived after us. Again, this may be due to the understaffing of the restaurant, and since we pre-paid, there was little incentive to check up on us. I honestly couldn't tell you who our server was, or anything about them, since they graced our presence a single time, only to drop off our order. This review may come across a bit harsh, so I will emphasize that we did enjoy our time here at Produce Row, and both my wife and I agreed that we would like to return here in the future, possibly for dinner, when the ambiance is likely to take on a warm, dusky, sultry, romantic air to it. That said, I feel its important to be honest on the particulars that we felt could be improved, since its obvious they run a quality establishment here. A couple easy tune ups would escalate Produce Row to an easy five-star recommendation, and one I would be happy to promote!

On their website it stated that they had happy hour, but, upon arrival that was not the case. They had set up a great outdoor seating area in the back patio. Seeing as we were stopping by for happy hour we tried their new Grapefruit cocktail and their brussel sprouts. The crunch and the glaze they were able to get on them was insane, so tasty. Also having been a bartender for over ten years I was very taken aback by the behavior of the bartender (short-red head) at this establishment. However the service, and ambiance was wonderful but I can imagine a seasonal menu will leave for up and down reviews. Skip my dishes, or maybe skip this season. It was not worth it. The drink and snack menus are admittedly good, with the food being fairly priced for what you end up getting, and quite tasty. I don't know if we came on a bad night, or if they were having a bad day, but our bartender/server really wasn't very nice and seemed to have a bit of an attitude, and it made the vibes feel kind of awkward for me. Portland has so much food, so it's easy to get lost on where to go. I first learned of the Backyard Social when I was getting ready to shoot a reception in their back area and I met my people there for drinks + apps. We ended up spending HOURS there. This is the norm for them because it's their favorite neighborhood spot but for me it was new and I'm a fairly busy person so to just lose track of time and thoroughly enjoy every moment spent there is big for me. The first visit, the roasted romaine salad was to DIE FOR along with everything else that made it to my mouth. Fast forward to the wedding / dinner reception that took place I was again so thrilled with my experience. From a vendor perspective they KILLED it. The food was next level delicious, and the timing was impeccable. All their guests had an amazing 4 or 5 course meal experience that left their taste buds begging for more but with literally no room left in their stomachs. At the end of the night they sent me home with extra food and my friends and I ate and raved into the early morning about it. The vegan/vegetarian options are amazing and i'm neither. Anyways I had to drop a killer review. I promise to always try to stop in on our trips to Portland. Thanks for a rad experience & even better food + people!

From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming. The service was smooth and efficient—our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations. We crossed the street for some grub after a spa day and boy were we delighted to have such a seriously delicious meal. Really fun cocktail list as well, with groovy vibes throughout. Loved the atmosphere and the service was top notch. Why only 4 stars? The food was lacking a little in price and in flavor. We had the burger, BLT, and chicken parm sandwich. The chicken parm sandwich was 100% fantastic but we asked for no pickles. The burger was small for the price especially compared to the price of the chicken parm sandwich. The burger was very bland and I was disappointed that adding tomato would cost extra. The BLT had more lettuce than I'd prefer. One common issue was the garlic aioli is very strong! It was so overpowering that I couldn't taste the cheese on the burger or the bacon in the BLT. The fries were delicious. I would go back again for the chicken parm sandwich. I would just like to say, it doesn’t matter how great some outdoor seating is, or how wonderful it is to have access to a vegan menu… if staff are treating you like you are nothing but an annoyance and inconvenience, it ruins the taste of everything. Of course we did a flight and enjoyed all the beers we tried here. It was a cool hip place to hangout and enjoy a good couple of beers with family & friends. The salsa has the perfect amount of kick (for Portland 🙃) and they cut two sandwiches in half for us so we could share two tortas. While you're waiting try out the hot sauces at the table. My favorite was the green one. If you love it, too, you can buy any of the line in the market. We had the sablefish and the fish and chips. If you've never had sablefish, you've got to try this. It tastes delicious and melts in your mouth. This dish would be especially good if you want more of a light summer food fare. It comes with spring veggies which round out the dish. Oh, and the fish and chips??? The were not oily, the portions were great and they taste great! The 'chips' resemble jojo's, but don't let them fool you. These chips are the perfect blend of soft inside and really crunchy on the outside. They taste buttery which makes them super yummy. So this company is definitely doing fraud, the bartenders are putting in things on people's tabs that should not be there things that they did not order.
