I would not recommend them. I purchased a Cleo own label wool coat in March 2024 for €290. The lining pocket ripped very quickly, which led to the outer wool pocket also ripping and the fabric tearing. I emailed them to ask about this (as I wanted to sort this out with them directly and privately in the first instance) and showed photos of the damage. I was initially told this was made by a tailor close to retirement and must have slipped by quality standards, they asked me to bring the coat in and they would repair it. I was asked if I had kept any “sharp objects” in the coat pocket when I brought it in, then they emailed to say there was “no fault with the fabric or the making” and that I would have to pay €50 for the pocket to be stitched back on, which had not been mentioned before in the lengthy email exchange I had with Sarah in the shop. The coat is in worse nick than when I brought it in, as the stitching has been unpicked, but rather than deal with Cleo further I’d rather cut my losses and take it to a dressmaker. I elected to simply get the coat and take it elsewhere and when I went in to collect it, I was repeatedly told that this damage was caused by mice or similar, and said I must have “kept chocolate” in the affected pocket - which is obviously not the case, as none of my other clothing has been affected and the coat was stored securely during the summer season. What happened to the “sharp objects”? Perhaps the coat just wasn’t made to the standards expected by the tailor in the first place, as I had been initially told. The customer service was contradictory, inconsistent and vaguely accusatory, and the coat itself clearly not worth €290 if it damages so significantly after infrequent, light wear. I had bought other items in Cleo and been happy to pay their prices due to my mistaken belief their wares were of a superior quality but I now believe Magee or Triona or other tweed purveyors in Ireland would offer better quality and better service.
