It's a spiritual and mesmerizing experience to visit the premises and visit the temple, very huge area surrounding the temple. It has three entrances east, west and north, East gate is the main entrance with pond on the right side. Dress code is mandatory, please go thru dress code specified by the temple committee, dhoti is must and u can buy at the temple premises at affordable rates. No mobile phone and any other digital gadgets inside the temple premises. Cloak rooms are available at all gates to keep your luggage and mobiles. Once u r ready with your attire, follow the main entrance and stand in a queue will go till the main temple where will get Shri Padmanabha Swamy darshan. They have annual function two times on a year during October to November and March to April plan your trip accordingly Darshan timings are fixed strting from morning 3.30 till 7.20 check the timing, we feel memorized after coming out seeing the god and surrounding architecture Evening time lot of oil diyas are surrounding the the temple makes it more lively and it's a great experience to see

Napier Museum is a must visit destination in Trivandrum. It is well maintained and the building in itself is a work of art. The displays throughout the museum are quite interesting and will keep you intrigued throughout your visit. Taking videos isn’t allowed but you can happily pose for pictures and capture the history of the displays with your camera. All in all a great place to visit with your family and children.

The Napier museum has several other prominent places to see like the zoo around the same area. The museum is housed in a unique building 🏫 with ample greenery surrounding the place. Excellent 👍 artifacts dorn the museum including a great collection of ivory pieces. Just outside is a collection of paintings along with a royal chariot. A canteen is also there with some good food just behind the hall with the paintings 🎨

The ticket price is 200 rupees for foreigners while it's only 30 rupees for local Indians, so it's almost 7 times more expensive than locals for me. But I decided to look around inside, and it's worthwhile visiting just one time while you are in Trivandrum. Most importantly, I have met so many beautiful locals who were so curious about me taking pictures together with them, what a memorable time mingling with genuinely welcoming Indian locals. Again it's a lovely wooden house containing lots of artifacts from thousands yrs ago or unknown periods etc, and interestingly I noticed they had some Indonesian artifacts too.

Atmosphere is nice, nicely maintained garden. Inside is a bit old, some of the beam concrete have already fell down from the ceiling. You can look into the past there are some ancient artifacts. Also there's a dedicated staff to guide us through them. You can take photos but need permission to take videos!!! Idk weird, anyways spend some good time there, won't be disappointing.

A peaceful beach to enjoy the sunset. The view is really beautiful, especially in the evening. There’s a big mermaid statue and plenty of space to walk or relax. Some areas need a bit of cleaning, but overall it’s a nice spot to chill with friends or family. Close to the airport too. 🌊🌅

The Pazhavangadi Maha Ganapathy temple is situated at East Fort in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram and very close to Sree Ananta Padmanabha Swamy temple. The main Deity of the temple is Sri Mahaganapathy (Ganesha). The original Idol was maintained by The Nair Brigade initially at Padmanabhapuram and later when they were shifted to Thiruvananthapuram they installed the Idol and the current temple came into being. After the integration of the Travancore army with the Indian Forces, the temple is being maintained by the Indian Army. The main Vazhipadu (Offering) in the temple is the breaking of coconuts at the temple.

Visited this temple about 3 weeks back and it was really good. Note: If you are male, you need to wear a dhoti to go nearer to the idol. Entry is still allowed without the dhoti though.

Beautiful paintings and art techniques take us back to RAJA RAVI VARMA era, its a neatly maintained gallery, one ticket for 4 gallery art. The Napier museum and department of zoo is also in the same place. People can go keep the luggage in the counter, ger tickets and spend time here. Check for public holidays. Every Monday the gallery is closed.

One of the rare museums in India. The very attraction of this museum is rare and great collection of oil paintings of Raja Ravi Verma, well known in portraying the Indian culture and Hindu gods. The display of the paintings in the hall are well organised and maintained. Oil paintings are in the main building in two floors. The building itself is very artistic, coloured white and terracotta. Another small block for other paintings is there. Entry cost is Rs25.00 per head. Good thing is that you are allowed to take the photos of the exhibits. Whatever many the quality of your camera, but it can’t capture 1% off of the photo. Must visit place in Trivandrum.

A peaceful place, even though it is surrounded by busy roads. A cemetery surrounds the entire church. The noise problem with the roads nearby are almost well dealt with.

Behavior of some people in church premises was very disappointing. When i entered the church to visit it a person came and talked rudely by saying me not to visit the church.

Church created for the Christian in you. Built by the British for the Madras Presidency and has the tubular bells which is one of a kind and not present anywhere in the world. Its age exceeds more than 200 years which makes it a vintage heritage.

It’s a perfect spot to spend time with family or friends, especially in the evenings when the breeze is cool and the lights around the palace look stunning. The atmosphere here is calm and refreshing — you can just sit and enjoy nature away from the busy city traffic. The palace area is also great for photography and evening walks. There’s a lot of space for kids to play, and it’s a popular place for morning jogs too. The maintenance is good, and the garden is always neat and tidy. It’s a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the view, and feel close to nature right in the middle of the city. I would definitely recommend visiting Kanakakunnu Palace if you want to experience peace, beauty, and a bit of history — all in one place! 🌿

Stand between the lake and paddy fields enjoying the gentle breeze and feel the serenity of nature. Vellayani is heaven. It hits different when there's a slight drizzle

One of the best place in trivandrum to experience the evening vibe and sunset. You can see the the view from main road itself, but you can also walk to to the side roads to experience the complete beauty of this place. You can buy fresh fish also from here. Currently boating is not available. You can either come to this place though your own vehicle or public transport like KSRTC bus. There is no dedicated parking space but you can park your vehicles near to this site. Safe swimming spaces are there in the lake. I think government can make this place as a main tourist attraction in Trivandrum, by providing public toilets and parking kind of facilities.

Great place to spend weekends. Ig you're coming here for fishing, you'll most probably go back home disappointed. Come here, get some fresh air, enjoy the serenity. That's all about this place.

Just a pleasant, less congested beachfront with a few picturesque coconut plantations nearby.Not a tourist destination because there are no other amenities like restaurants or shops. Anyone can come and take in the atmosphere of the sunset without feeling crowded.The locals are really amiable. Most of the time, local fisherman sell us fresh fish. Now one new shop is available named shells.

Beautiful and peaceful beach unlike other beaches at Trivandrum which are crowded. Scenaries are beautiful with lot of coconut trees infront of the beach. Slightly inside and away from the main road. Since the beach has less movement of people, it is suggested to be careful while entering the beach. No shops will be found. The beach is not shallow and we need to be carefull while stepping in to the beachl. Please note that no lifeguards are available.

The zoo can get very busy on weekends and holidays, and animals are less active in the afternoon heat. Overall: A clean, scenic, and affordable place worth visiting—best enjoyed in the morning or evening when it’s cooler and less crowded.

Went on a weekday. No so much crowded, but yes it's a tourist place so there'll be crowd especially on Sundays. The ticket price google mentioned (200/-) is dfor foreigners and the ticket price for Indians is only 40(for adults). I only support zoo when they can provide better facilities for animals that they can't get them on forest. But I'm not sure about here, because most of the animals are always lay down like they don't have enough health, especially the lion,tiger & cheetah(pythons too). It seems they can barely walk. On the other hand the bear,deer, and hippos seems pretty healthy. So I'm not sure, maybe it's the time I went there. The main problem is you can't clearly see most of the birds, I'm not sure till why they don't use glasses for clear visibility rather than the small grill, that you can barely see them. The white tiger was a suprise and he/she/they/them whatever was actually stunning. Most of the cages were empty (I'm actually glad for that). A 20 min walk through a"made up jungle" is actually good. The staffs always clean the place but be careful of the tree branch. The snakes non of them are even moving, I'm not sure if they alive or not for some reason. Anyway yeah as I mentioned earlier if you can provide better facilities for animals yes it's a good initiative. Unless it's cruelty.

Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in India and a lovely place to visit. The park is clean, green, and well-maintained, with spacious enclosures for animals. You can see lions, tigers, crocodiles, and many exotic birds. It’s a peaceful escape in the city and a great spot to spend a few hours enjoying nature and wildlife. Perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers who love animals and quiet walks. Entrance is 200 rupees. I went to this zoo hoping to see an elephant, but there wasn't one there.

The zoo was decent but had a limited variety of animals. The deer and porcupine enclosures were quite crowded, making it hard to get a good view. Some of the reptiles were not present. The layout could be better managed for visitor flow. Kids still enjoyed spotting the few animals around. Overall, an average experience that could improve with better space and crowd management. The entry fee for family is ₹100.

Zoo is good. Enjoy for picnic or one day fun. Must visit nearby locations like palace and museum, located within one KM. Restaurant and washroom and and Shop available inside the campus and nearby. Easily available auto for this place or for go to outside. Greenery is superb and all three locations are fantastic for photoshoot. You can also enjoy fish aquarium located in this area.

Parking is available but can get crowded on weekends. Security is decent, and food options are limited inside, so carrying water and light snacks is advisable.

Best place to visit and can spend more time with kids. Provisions given inside the Zoo also super for resting after a long walk, drinking water and tea snack feasilities etc... Maintenance of Zoo fantastic. Completely enjoyed. Don't miss to see the snakes, which is located nearly end of the zoo, due to tired most of them skipped, that was really fantastic by keeping different kind of snakes. Note: POLYTHENE BAGS (PLASTIC BAGS) strictly not allowed inside the Zoo, even chocolates also, bags checked properly at the entrance. that was really appreciable thing to maintain. You can bring paper instead to carry all the snacks, for example you can bring lays by removing it's plastic cover and put it into the paper bag and even chocolates also. Clock room available near the entrance by paid basis with basic charge. Entrance fare: 40 Rs / head (Adult) 30 Rs / head (Toddler) Aquarium placed next to main entrance that is seperately charged, minimum fishes available it's okay. Mainly for kids.

Vizhinjam Lighthouse is one of the must-visit spots near Kovalam. The view from the top is absolutely stunning — you get a full panoramic view of the coastline, the blue sea, and the nearby beaches. The climb to the top is short but a little steep, totally worth it once you see the view. The place is well maintained and organized, with proper timings for entry. There’s also a small museum area that showcases the history of lighthouses, which is pretty interesting. It’s usually not too crowded if you go early in the morning or around sunset, and the lighting during those times makes it perfect for photos. Parking is available nearby as well. Overall, a beautiful spot to visit for views, photos, and a bit of peaceful time by the sea.

If you have not visited a light house then surely you can go.Good spot to visit. View is nice. Lift is available till second last floor. At the end the steps are very narrow and steep only one person can go at a time. Parking charge is rs. 10 for scooted. Ticket as mentioned in photo.

A wonderful experience With family. A full day packed program. We went with children. The money we spent there is worth every penny. Children can learn a lot of things about another side of childhood where our differently abled children their entire childhood in colours instead of chaos. They grow, live, learn and earn with Magic Planet. I would recommend this place as a must visit place for everyone. Also keep in mind the shows are understandable for kids above 5 years only. The full day program includes a food and snack facility on the campus itself. Ample parking is available.

The location is approximately 20 km from the city. It's a 10 am to 6 pm program. Try to join by 10 am. The forenoon session mostly focuses on the performance of differently abled children. The park is a platform to empower and rehabilitate an often overlooked community—differently-abled children and street magicians. This park is quite decently priced and have basic activities for kids to keep then engaged for a while. It’s lacks little maintenance as everything seems old, but still it’s a good one. Main attraction is the mini train for kids, nicely built to seem just like a real train, with station, tracks, track changing, bridge over water etc. Mini train goes all around the park. Train prices was 50 Rs. when I visited and also wait time for 15 - 30 mins. Entry to the park was 20 Rs.

Veli Tourist Village is a calm and beautiful spot near Trivandrum. The garden is peaceful with shady trees and artistic sculptures, perfect for a relaxing walk. There's also a clean park for kids and fun activities like pedal boats and a toy train. The nearby beach is quiet and scenic, great for sunsets. Only downside is a bit of plastic waste in some areas. Still, a great place for families and evening visits!

Veli Tourist village is organised and managed by Kerala tourism. A beautiful Lakeshore area well made and arranged for evening leisure time spend. A 15min meter gage train also a wonderful experience. Boating, children's park also there.

A few weeks ago I went to veli but due to heavy rush I didnt go in, but this time there was no rush so we went inside veli tourist village after a long period. It looks like a lot changed. Veli tourist village is mainly for kids with couple of parks, miniature train ride, hourse ride, etc.. It's a good place for a walk with scenic beauty. The pathways and grass are well maintained. Floating restaurant was closed by mentioning renovation but cant see any renovation work going on. I saw a bio toilet but doesn't seems to be working. floating bridge also require some maintenance. In kids park also some equipments are damaged but not yet repaired. So there are some areas were no maintenance are being done.

Visited Veli Tourist Village in the evening during the Onam week celebrations, and it was a wonderful experience. The place was lively with festive vibes – a beautifully arranged stage program and ganamela that went on till 9 PM, adding a cultural charm to the serene surroundings. The evening breeze near the lake, the well-maintained walkways, and the illuminated garden areas made it a perfect outing spot. Families, tourists, and kids were all enjoying the festive mood. Parking and entry were smooth, and the crowd was well managed despite the holiday rush. A must-visit during the festive season if you are in Trivandrum – both for the natural beauty and the cultural programs! 🌸🎶

Most major brands and food outlets are available, and the place is clean and well-kept. Some shops are still unoccupied, but overall, it’s a nice and peaceful place to spend time.

A fantastic shopping and leisure destination! Mall of Travancore offers a great mix of top-brand stores, food outlets, and entertainment options, all in a clean and well-organized space. The ambiance is modern and family-friendly, with plenty of seating areas and a good movie theatre. It's a perfect spot for shopping, dining, and spending quality time with loved ones. Mall of Travancore offers a much quieter and more relaxed shopping experience compared to Lulu Mall nearby. The smaller scale of the mall makes it ideal for peaceful walks and unhurried shopping. The small plaza in front serves as a nice meeting point and resting space for visitors. There’s a Ramachandra supermarket on the ground floor that’s fairly decent, with a clothing section extending to the basement. However, the ventilation near the basement area seems to allow some foul air into the supermarket, which could be improved. Apart from that, the rest of the mall is well-maintained. I also visited the Westside store here, which was quite good with a nice collection and courteous staff. The cinema and kids’ section on the top floor are good, and the open lobby spaces inside often host events such as film promotions and festival activities — during my visit, there was a Diwali celebration and a movie campaign going on. Overall, a decent and pleasant mall experience.

Located in Thiruvananthapuram, this mall is definitely worth checking out. The ambiance is quite good, creating a nice environment for shopping and leisure. While the noise can be quite high at times, it surprisingly doesn't detract too much from the overall experience, making it a good spot to spend some time.

Mall of Travancore is quite basic with very limited options. If you are looking to roam around and spend quality time in a mall, this may not be the right choice. Lulu Mall in Trivandrum is a much better option. The Ramachandra Hypermarket inside feels very cheap, with low-quality products. Even the food court area is not pleasing or attractive. Most of the outlets are just the regular ones like Trends and Max nothing unique or exciting. Overall, it doesn’t feel like a proper mall setup, just a very ordinary space.

Stepped into Royalty at Kuthira Malika 🐎🏛️ Wandered through the timeless corridors of Kuthira Malika Palace Museum, where every teakwood beam and intricate carving whispers tales of Travancore’s royal legacy. The 122 wooden horse motifs, the traditional Kerala architecture, and the antique royal treasures made it a walk through history—majestic and serene. A must-visit for anyone drawn to heritage, art, and regal charm.

Th only thing you will like is the palace architecture.. there is an entry fee fo adults and even a mobile phone and camera. The palace is empty from inside, the rooms are empty without any artifacts except for some old furniture and 10 odd paintings.. the worst part is that management expects visitors to remove their footwear outside at the entry gate and no arrangement are made for their comfort.. the floor is very hot and my kids for skin burns.. request to management, you are taking a user convenience fee, pls think about visitors comfort.

If you love to hear out the history come here. Worth visiting spot don't come if there is no time to spend .A guide will be there for a group which is included with the ticket which i think is a Star..

The place does have some valuables on display, but charging ₹500 for entry feels excessive. It’s not as though the items are one-of-a-kind treasures; they are simply a collection of things. The explanation given for such high charges was quite skillful, but honestly, it turned out to be very disappointing after going inside. Hearing claims like *“the valuables cost crores”* doesn’t justify the price of admission.

I visited there on weekday. Less crowded than usual, and it kept really need clean. Staffs and helpful, they kept the place beautiful with grass and plants. Guide available and they'll tell you about everything. The ticket cost 70/- and with chithralayam ticket it's 100. Old sculptures, guns, decorative items and things used in the palace iss kept here. Some of them is over 1000 years old and it's really exciting to visit to such a place. Overall enjoyed a lot. The inside photography cost 500 and I think that's reasonable, if all the items is real!! And I don't understand why 50 rupees for outside photography. Because you can click photos without a ticket, there's no one there to question it or asking ticket for photography outside. So I think that's not necessary at all. Overall a good experience. You can visit there sometime while visiting sreepadmanabha swmy temple, it situated nearly, especially if you're an history buff.

The palace museum is well-maintained and is completely made of wood. The architecture, carvings and artifacts are unique & intricately crafted. Good temple specific for local rituals and culture. I visited the place as tourist, and couldn't understand what ritual were going on, where many devotees with small amount of boiled grains chanting mantras in group.

This temple is one of the oldest and most spiritually powerful temples I have visited. The deity here, Lord Parashuraman is truly divine and powerful - one can genuinely feel the positive energy and blessings upon entering the temple premises. The ancient & traditional architecture adds a classic charm, reflecting the deep-rooted heritage and devotion that this place holds. Every corner of the temple carries a sense of purity, faith, and calmness that touches the heart of every devotee. However, I would like to mention a concern regarding the Bali (ritual) procedures. During my visits, I felt that the poojaris inside the temple were performing the rituals in a bit of a hurry, without giving enough time or attention to make the karma feel complete and satisfying. As devotees, we come with deep faith & emotion, expecting peace and fulfillment after the rituals, but the hurried approach sometimes affects that spiritual satisfaction. It also feels like there is a greater focus on the dakshina (offerings) rather than on the emotional & spiritual connection of the devotees. Apart from that, the temple continues to be a truly divine and sacred place. The presence of the deity gives immense strength, hope, and inner peace. Despite the small concerns, I always feel blessed and spiritually recharged after visiting this temple. It remains a place of strong divine energy and faith that every devotee should experience at least once in their lifetime.

This is supposedly the only temple dedicated to Lord Parasuram in Kerala one of the few in India. We visited the temple after coming from Sri Padmanabaswamy temple. It was based on South indian type of architecture and I felt a deep sense of calm and divinity. Taking photos inside is not allowed.

I recently visited the Kerala State Science and Technology Museum and Priyadarshini Planetarium with my kids and family, and it was a fantastic outing for all of us! The museum provided a perfect mix of education and entertainment, with its wide array of scientific exhibits that fascinated both the adults and the children. The Priyadarshini Planetarium was an absolute treat for everyone. The immersive shows captivated my kids, sparking their curiosity about the universe, while the advanced GM-11 starfield projector brought the wonders of the cosmos to life. The multilingual show options (Malayalam and English) were a bonus, making the experience accessible and enjoyable for everyone in our group. However, I do hope visitors and authorities alike take extra care in preserving this wonderful facility. It's important to maintain the cleanliness of the premises and handle the exhibits responsibly to ensure that future generations can continue to benefit from this excellent resource. The staff were courteous and attentive, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained during our visit. Ticket prices were reasonable, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and family-friendly. Whether you're looking for a fun family day out or an educational experience, this place is highly recommended. It's truly a gem in Thiruvananthapuram!

A very nice place to visit with your kids, the Planaterium show was awesome, (separate ticket required for this show) but the 3D show was poor in both quality and experience (also separate ticket required for this show). The museum was a very different experience for kids and helped to some scientific terms (also separate ticket required.But the park near the Planaterium is very poorly maintained and almost all playing equipment was damaged. The assistance by the staff is very satisfying especially from the security staff. Recommending to all at the same time I'm a little bit concerned about the poor maintenance of this awesome public facility.

Wonderful place for kids to understand the science with real laboratory experiments and well trained staffs. Spere shows is awesome and it give you the mesmerizing experience. All miniature model and planatorium available in a single place you have to segregate the time priorly or else you missed out the session.

Science..Good for students and elders. In the science gallery we can understand basic science using different experiments which are demonstrated in 3 floors. There are different shows like planetoriam, science in the sphere,3D show etc. very clean and arranged. Wash rooms are available on different floor.There is a small cafeteria outside. A hall is available there that can be used for having food.

Revisited after 10–15 years. Last came here as a 3-year-old! So many changes, but my love for the planetarium remains. A great place to relive childhood memories. Highly recommended for kids to explore and learn about science in an engaging way!

As always, it’s good for kids and students, especially for shaping ideas. Some of the models were not in working condition, including the simulators. The 3D show was good (though don’t expect a theatrical experience 🙂). Overall, a good experience.

A section shows different indigenous musical instruments, a miniature replica of Kerala's architecture of Nalukettu, etc.

Affordable ticket rates...replica of Traditional kerala homes and rooms are built inside as part of the exibition which gives a chance to walk through the history and feel the past.. no lifts are available. They have a great collection of idols , paintings , wooden cot with mesmerizing carving s and with canopy , stage carriage, real cannon , descriptions of our historical culture and details of various museums and palaces located in different districts . Murals are also there . It's a must see museum for history buffs and the entry fee is minimal . This museum is housed in a traditional building and looks magnificent and next door to corporation building trivandrum. Parking is available inside .

One of the hidden gems here is the underground museum. It's a fascinating space where you can explore many things from the robes and belongings of the priests to beautiful depictions of Jesus and elements of church history. It adds depth to the visit and gives a sense of spiritual and cultural richness. The church is located near the sea, adding to its serene charm. A walk by the shore makes the experience even more special. The only downside is transportatio buses are often overcrowded and uncomfortable. But if you're coming by private vehicle, the trip is much easier and more enjoyable. Truly a place worth visiting!

he Interactive Museum of Cultural History of Kerala popularly known as "Keralam Museum" was established by the Govt. of Kerala in 2011 as an autonomous body under the Cultural Affairs Ministry. It is the first Thematic and Interactive Museum in Kerala, showcasing various aspects of the culture and heritage of the state. Apart from maintaining a museum of international standards it is also spearheading the initiative for bringing professionalism in the modernisation of the existing museums and the setting up of new museums in the State and Central sectors.

I visited this place for my 2 year old as it would help him understand some species up close and would help him when he goes to the zoo. Also it is inside a building so he will be able to walk a lot without much crowd. We went on a Saturday and rainy day. There was very little crowd almost 20 people or so. He loved the exhibits especially the wild animals but was afraid of the skeletons. He ran a lot from one exhibit to another and would address most birds as crow. He knew lion tiger and giraffe from his soft toys. Everything except snake and giraffe are stuffed live animals. They have maintained it well. Really good and would suggest others to see it

Light house and beach and back water also Good. U can take bus that will take a full day tour for popular sight seeing at economic price. Also knows as Thiruvananthapuram, capital of Kerala. We'll connect to tamilnadu, karnataka and North India by train connectivity. AC Dormitory is available near the junction/bus stand by walk at 200-300 per bed.

Trivandrum railway station is a Nice place. That the station is very clean and well connected to the bus service. If you want to go somewhere via bus, the bus station is right in front of the railway . If you need Auto try to book prepaid or by uber or any likely platforms. There is AC Waiting hall in platform no.1. Cloak room facility is also available in the platform no.1. Sometimes some people may feel adorable, please do not leave your valuable items with them while going to the washroom .

But toilet facilities, I saw only pay and use, which was looking by third parties. Didn't saw toilet facilities which is offered by Indian Railway with free of cost.

Restaurant - both vegetarian and non vegetarian - is available. Waiting hall is clean and neat. Adequate autos and taxis are available. Beautiful paintings are available in the walls. The building is artistic.

Heard as one of the most powerful dharga in kerela . For my mother's wish we went there . Building looked very beautiful. Very big dharga with pink colour painted. Was looking like small tajmahal. Not near to sea. Many people was worshiping. Bathroom available, small snack stalls available, plenty of parking available, small shop available for few islamic related things we can buy. I am not aware of history behind the dharga.dharga is not very clean but ok . Overall good experience good vibe .

Bheemapally Juma Masjid is a peaceful place to visit. In the evenings it gets crowded and the atmosphere is very lively with many food stalls and shops outside. The mosque has good parking space and is easily accessible by public transportation. Overall, it gives a sense of peace and calmness while visiting.”

Beemapally is one of the oldest mosque in Kerala. Although this is a Muslim mosque, people of any religion can come here at any time and enter into the mosque. This is also a tourist destination in Thiruvananthapuram. There is a tomb of an important scholar inside the mosque, and many rituals are performed there in related with this. It is located in a large area.

One of the most famous mosques located near the coastal area of Trivandrum. It is different from other mosques. It is beautifully constructed and is light pink in colour. The Beemapally Dargah Shareef houses the tomb of Syedunnisa Beema Beevi. She is believed to have divine powers. It is recommended to visit the mosque mornings or evenings or as usual timings to pray. The mosque is famous for its annual Urus that is festivals to venerate Beema Beevi at which people from all customs and faiths jointly participate. The festival begins with the hoisting of the flag of the mosque. During the festivals many programmes like Islamic devotional songs, Duff muttu etc are also conducted. The Chandanakudam Mahotsavam marks the end of the festival at which the flag from the Beema Beevis grave is taken and a grand procession of elephants along with the panchavadyam music takes place. The panchavadyam includes Timila, Maddalam, Ilathalam, Kombu and Idakka. The mosque environment is maintained well. It is just 5-6 kilometres away from the Thampanoor or Thiruvananthapuram City. The mosque was built in the 1960s and completed with nearly 18 years of construction which made it an architectural marvel. There are also many small shops for food and toys nearby which can be utilised by the visitors to buy toys and all for the children. Thus during the next visit to Trivandum one can visit the place and see it.

The combination of the sea and the nearby Veli Tourist Village adds to the charm — you can enjoy boating, walk on the floating bridge, and explore the garden area. The beach is clean and not too crowded on weekdays, making it perfect for a peaceful stroll. However, swimming isn’t ideal due to strong waves, and there aren’t many food stalls nearby — so it’s best to carry your own snacks and water. Overall, it’s a great spot to unwind, click pictures, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Kerala coast. 🌅

Akkulam Tourist Village is a calm and peaceful spot located right by the roadside, making it easily accessible. It used to be a nice place to relax and spend some quiet time with family and friends.However, the place is not well maintained nowadays. Cleanliness has become a major issue, and many areas are left untidy, which affects the overall experience. If the authorities could focus on maintaining the space better, this could be a great hangout spot again.

This is a good hangout spot if you ask me. It's good to come with your friends or your partner or want to spend some time alone. It was a quiet place and there were only a few people there. When I went there, it was between 3-4 pm so I'm not sure how it is during the late hours. It's also a beautiful place for photoshoots and all cause there are beautiful things to capture. There are also some stalls to eat and have fun playing some games. But there was one thing that I didn't like. Many of the adventure rides weren't open when I went there, and that's not the right thing considering I paid the ticket price as well.

It's a nice place to sit and relax, especially for families and children. The entry fee is ₹30 per person, and they accept both UPI and cash payments. There’s a good play area for kids with different slides, a swimming pool, and boating facilities. They also offer several adventure activities like zip line, rope cycling, and more. However, you’ll need to buy separate tickets for each activity or combo packs to participate. The newly opened Glass Bridge is another attraction here, with an entry fee of ₹200 for adults and ₹150 for children. But in my opinion, it’s not really worth that amount, as there isn’t much of a great view when you reach the end of the bridge. Toilet facilities are available, and there are small shops inside where you can buy ice creams, snacks, shakes, water, and other refreshments. Overall, it’s a pleasant place to spend some leisure time with family and friends, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing outing.

Nice place for a hangout. Entry is 40rs for adult and each of the activities costs extra. Glass bridge costs 200 and airforce museum is 60per head. There are many attractions and activities for kids. It looks neat, clean and well maintained.

This is a Good hangout spot for family and is very kid friendly. Entry costs 40 Rs. Adventure activities 560 rs for an adult and the new glass bridge 200 Rs. I feel the price are a bit on the higher side however you can spend atleast 2-3 hrs here. Maintenance need to be done for some rides

The maintenance and lighting are good, creating a decent atmosphere. However, the ₹100 entry fee feels quite steep for what’s offered. The entire museum can be explored in under 10 minutes, with limited interactive elements . While the wax figures are impressive, the overall experience doesn’t justify the price compared to larger, more engaging attractions. A lower ticket price would make it more reasonable. The staffs were very friendly and attentive.

I recently visited the wax museum and was truly impressed by the experience. Sunil 's wax museum ..It is situated on Thiruvananthapuram...it is near the Padmanavswari temple's southern gate...many legends status are there...like Abdul Kalam, Rabindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi,Sai baba. Many actors actresses, like.. Pravash, Venkatesh, Salman khan, Kareena Kapoor khan... players..like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Diago Maradona etc..

Definitely worth going and taking pictures. There is so much detailing of everyone. You might even feel suddenly that the people are alive. I enjoyed taking pictures with great leaders, freedom fighters, celebrities & sports genius.

Location - Very close to Padmanabhaswamy temple. Exactly opposite to parking area. It's on road. Place - Loved all idols. Credit goes to Sunil Sir for coming up with such good ideas. So welcoming & full of warmth staff. Especially thanks to Ganga for taking my great pictures. Only drawback is, not convinced with highly charged entrance cost ₹100. Rest all is superb.

First built in 1873, the final extensions and completions including the gothic-styled facade and bell tower were finished around 1927. The Diocese of Trivandrum was formed in 1937 following the bifurcation of the Diocese of Quilon and the St. Joseph’s Church became its Cathedral. When the Diocese of Trivandrum was raised to the metropolitan archdiocese in 2004, St. Joseph’s Cathedral was elevated to a metropolitan cathedral. There is a beautiful statue of St. Joseph with the child Jesus on the facade. Another statue of Jesus with hands raised is also erected on the top of the tower

This is one of the beautiful churches in Trivandrum, located opposite Chandrasekar Nair Stadium, Palayam. It's said the first church was built here in 1873 and rebuilt in a cross shape in the 1920s. The church features stunning Gothic architecture with intricate details. The facade is adorned with tall, narrow windows with pointed arches, and there are multiple levels of decorative elements, including circular rose windows and ornate carvings. At the top of the central tower, there is a statue of Jesus, positioned as if He is blessing the people. The entrance is marked by a large arched doorway, above which there is a statue of St. Joseph and the child Jesus. The overall design is symmetrical and highly detailed, making it a significant landmark in the area.

St.Joseph’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Palayam, Trivandrum, is the Cathedral Church of the Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum This 137-year old grand monumental Goethic structure has a moderate beginning. The initial Church was constructed in 1873 as a Parish Church to look after the spiritual needs of a few Catholic military men and a few Catholic families who mainly migrated from the coastal region of earstwhile Travancore state, comprising of the present Kanyakumari and Trivandrum Districts. The very name Palayam has its ethymological meaning a ‘Contonment’ ie, the Military’s residence. On May 4th, 1873 the first Church was blessed by the then Bishop of Quilon Most Rev.Eldaphonese OCD and Rev.Fr.Emygdius OCD, the Parish Priest. The Second phase of extention work in the manner of the Cross was done in 1912 during the tenure of Rev,Fr.Pamcratius OCD. And the final stage of extention, including the Goethic style imposing front and the bell-tower was completed in1927 during the time of Rev.Fr.Ildaphonse OCD. The three ‘Do-Re-Me’ syncronising bells were brought from Belgium and were installed. These bells were named Joseph, Xavier, and Aloysius to denote St.Joseph the Patron of the Church, St.Francis Xavier, the Apostole of India and Bishop Aloysius Maria Benziger the pioneer Missionary-Bishop of Quilon respectively. When the Quilon Diocese was bifurcated and the new diocese of Trivandrum was formed on 1st July 1937, St.Joseph’s Church became the Cathedral Church of the newly formed Trivandrum Diocese. And when His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. M. Soosapakiam was made the Archbishop and the Diocese of Trivandrum became the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Trivandrum in 2000, St.Joseph’s Cathedral was also raised to the status of the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Vizhinjam Rock-Cut Cave, located near the coastal town of Vizhinjam in Thiruvananthapuram district( Near to vizhinjam police station ) This small yet significant cave is renowned for its ancient rock-cut sculptures and inscriptions, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, archaeologists, and tourists.The Vizhinjam Rock-Cut Cave dates back to the 8th century AD and is believed to have been built during the reign of the Ay dynasty, a prominent ruling dynasty in southern Kerala. The cave temple reflects the early phase of Dravidian architecture and serves as an important relic of the region's ancient history. The sculptures and inscriptions found within the cave provide valuable insights into the religious practices, artistic styles, and cultural influences of that era.

A very interesting and peaceful ancient site near Kovalam. The Rock-Cut Shiva Temple in Vizhinjam is small but full of history and spiritual energy. Beautiful carvings of Shiva, Parvati, and Nandi inside the cave. Worth visiting if you love ancient Indian art and calm places.

Perfect Spot for Book Lovers! State Central Library, Thiruvananthapuram, is a well-maintained library with an extensive collection of books and periodicals. The quiet and peaceful environment is ideal for reading and studying. There are separate sections for children and differently-abled readers. The staff are friendly and helpful. It’s better to reserve popular books in advance if you plan to borrow them.

I went to get a membership there. The staff was helpful and got the formalities completed. Two photographs and original aadhar ID needs to be carried. They have car parking facility. Couldn't explore the books section since I had another appointment, but heard that they have a rich collection. Overall it was a good experience.

Has a good collection of books but no proper reading room . There is a study room . However we can only bring a notebook for writing and no other books are allowed. We cannot even bring the library books inside . If we want we will have to take books available in the study room itself . I thin there are a number of competitive books inside , i dont know if its diverse because have not entered inside even after visiting library multiple times.v

Good collection of books. I have been borrowing books from this library since I was a kid. The process of finding, borrowing and returing books has improved a lot. Now my kid loves borrowing books from here and we often visit the park too. Has always been a good experience. Staff are helpful. They have always helped me get any book I have needed.

IThe State Central Library is a peaceful and well-maintained place for reading and research. The collection is impressive, especially for academic and historical books. They provide books in languages like english, hindi, Sanskrit, and malayalam. The quiet atmosphere makes it a great spot to focus, though the seating can get a bit crowded during peak hours. Staff are generally helpful, and the architecture adds a nice charm to the experience. They also got many sections and, they got a separate library for differently abled people and children. They got a separate park only for children below the age of 12. They provide magazines, old articles, newspaper, upto date. But, I wouldn't recommend searching for commonly demanded books, as they are quite difficult to get hold of, since everybody put them in waiting list on the computer, so it will be while, you want trending books such as this.

This is one of my favourite peaceful places in Trivandrum. A perfect spot for reading, studying, or just spending time with books. Especially for UPSC aspirants like me – serious vibe and peaceful minds around. They offer different types of membership cards: D Class – ₹100 (refundable), can take only 1 book. A Class – ₹500 (refundable), can take 7 books + magazines + journals. B Class – somewhere in between, and good for regular readers. ✨ All the deposit money is refundable when you cancel the membership. 💺 The Premium Reading Hall on the 2nd floor is beautiful – AC, clean, silent, and gives a professional feel. Only A and B class card holders can sit and study here. 📖 There is also a Reference Hall, accessible to all members, where you can read important reference books, magazines, and journals. Calm and powerful learning atmosphere. Overall, I prefer A or B class because it gives access to everything. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves books, preparation, or a peaceful study spot.

The visit to the Department of Museums and Zoos in Trivandrum offers a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of city life, providing a unique blend of museum and zoo experiences that cater to different tastes. The overall atmosphere is inviting, with a good selection of pre-scheduled Malayalam melodies adding richness to the surroundings. The polite and helpful staff further enhance the experience. While the entry fee is reasonable, the place appeals to a diverse audience, from nature enthusiasts interested in birds and animals to history buffs fascinated by Kerala's heritage, and even photography enthusiasts.

Peaceful and totally worth exploring here. Have so much to do here - zoo, museum, children's park, cafeteria. Clean and well maintained parks. Also contains e-toilet and normal toilet facilities. Zoo contains different varieties of species. In the reptiles section, the new one is ANACONDA, I think. I love this place. Have so many this to explore here and make a day relaxing ❤ Recommend to one day tours.👌

It's so beautiful place. We can see variety of different species. It's most satisfying place with only 20 rupees ticket.

The building is from early 1900s, made of granite and teak with a large nave, side aisles, bell tower, both transepts, with the chancel serving as the pulpit. The worship is more Presbyterian/Protestant in nature. Divine services in English are held every Sunday at 10:00 am, the Divine service in Tamil is held at 7:00 am and three Malayalam Divine services take place at at 6:00 am, 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. There're morning services daily at 7:00 am. The church tends to be packed for the Sunday 8:30 and 10:00 am services. The church offers excellent parking facilities. Disabled access is available by the side aisles.
