Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Place des Vosges is the oldest planned square in Paris, dating back to 1612. Located in the fashionable Marais district, it features a central green area with fountains and is surrounded by red-brick mansion houses. Once home to royals at the Hotel des Tournelles, it now boasts high-end boutiques, galleries, and top-rated restaurants. Nearby accommodations offer stylish interiors and a tranquil private patio.
This planned park is beautiful and well used. I wish we’d had a picnic here, but we found it while walking off lunch. I recommend enjoying a lovely and relaxing afternoon here.
Heath S — Google review
Very cool park, the symmetry is amazing, you can either rest on the seats or hang out on the grass. I always have my lunch here with the sandwich I bring, it is peaceful and a nice escape
Kardelen S — Google review
Place des Vosges is an absolute must-visit. Seriously, it's my favorite park of all time! It might be small, but it's incredibly charming and instantly transports you to a quieter time. It's especially stunning during the late summer and autumn when the leaves start turning those incredible shades of gold, red, and brown—the photo ops here are just unreal! Be prepared for it to get super busy when the weather is nice, but trust me, it’s worth navigating the crowds. It's perfect for a quick, peaceful stroll or, even better, planning a full picnic lunch on the lawn. And the best part is you’re surrounded by amazing local finds! There are tons of cafés, restaurants, chic boutiques, and brilliant boulangeries just steps away. Grabbing a fresh baguette, some cheese, and a pastry to enjoy right in the park is essential. Plus, there are so many fascinating things to see and do in the immediate area.
Kiatsupa S — Google review
One of the garden for your stop and capture some good moments. The trip from Louvre by walking here. On the way here, you can enjoy shopping along the way and observe the parisian life.
Dalis T — Google review
It is a small, quiet a nice place to share with friends, family, or just by you own and read a book! Please relax and lay down on the grass and enjoy it. There is also a sandbox, so kitties could play as well! There is a bathroom inside the park, makes things easy. Around the park are souvenir shops, and cafes!
Angelica B — Google review
A quaint spot to play, meditate, exercise, or browse nearby boutiques. Shaded by neatly trimmed platanes and tilleuls, the park offers cool refuge under their canopies. Under the colonnades, you’ll find art, quirky shops, and bars. Come early to catch a quieter mood, a few sleepers and early risers shifting about. By 9, the tourists begin to arrive. Nearby, the Victor Hugo House museum adds a touch of history.
Sey S — Google review
This park is not big but it's beautiful layout with fountains and sculpture of Louis XIII. I thoroughly enjoyed watching people passing by or sit on the grass enjoying a lunch on a beautiful sunny day.

Museums
The Petit Palais is a beautifully adorned 1900 building designed in the Beaux-Arts architectural style, originally constructed for the Universal Exposition. It now houses the City of Paris Museum of Fine Arts, showcasing an eclectic collection ranging from Renaissance to 20th-century artworks. The gallery features European art spanning from Classical antiquity to renowned artists like Albrecht Durer and Impressionists such as Claude Monet and Paul Cezanne.
I’m so glad I made time to visit the Petit Palais during my trip to Paris. The building itself is stunning, with breathtaking architecture that feels like a work of art before you even step inside. The museum’s collection is equally impressive, featuring pieces by Monet as well as masterpieces from the Dutch Golden Age and beyond. What amazed me most is that admission is completely free, and the wait to enter was minimal. I spent over two hours exploring the galleries and could have easily stayed longer. It’s a wonderful mix of grandeur, history, and artistic treasure. The Petit Palais truly feels like one of Paris’s hidden gems, and I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary.

A free jewel to get in! This Museum is a spectacular place to visit, is very impressive from the golden ornate gate to the cafe and gardens in the back ! Is worthy to visit to admire the Sculptures and paintings… all these wonderful place was built for the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris! Beautiful Art Decorative examples from 1900
Pedri A — Google review
• Architectural gem: The building itself, designed by Charles Girault for the 1900 Exposition Universelle, is celebrated for its ornate Beaux-Arts style, grand façade, domes and interior courtyard. • Free entry (permanent collection): One of the more accessible major museums in Paris — the permanent collection in the Petit Palais is free, making it a very good value stop. • High-quality art collection: The museum houses works by significant artists (e.g., Paul Cézanne, Gustave Courbet) plus decorative arts, sculpture, and objects spanning antiquity through the 19th century. • Pleasant environment: Reviewers frequently mention that it feels less crowded than the major tourist museums, with a restful internal garden and a welcoming atmosphere.
Amrit D — Google review
Loved this at museum! The building architecture is spectacular. It's free, they also have a Monet on display with some modern art as well. They have a mix of paintings, artifacts, and statues. Statues were lovely to see in beautiful light, and prices were nicely laid out so it didn't seem too overwhelming. Highly recommend!
Kandoo O — Google review
Perfect opportunity in Paris to visit a free museum. The works are introduced by art paintings and interior furniture as historical part of the palace. It has several big halls describing different period of times. Additionally paintings are mixed with the classics and modern, and you can find some famous artist works there too (like Renoir). Great place to stop by when exploring Paris historical center
Maksym Z — Google review
Beautiful free museum, there are tickets you can buy where you are able to skip the line and see a temporary exhibit but there’s so much to see without buying it and the wait was only about 20 minutes! Beautiful paintings and ceilings and a wonderful gift shop! Was very crowded.
Amber W — Google review
A free castle turned museum pretty from the outside pretty from the inside. And also they have extra exhibition from basel in front of the building where you can chill and eat snacks. Ah coming here is like living out the “movie-like” life. They have lockers for bags under 40 cm or like cabin baggage (?) The personeels are friendly, inside you have beautiful arts
Zin — Google review
Wonderful wonderful museum. Definitely give it a visit if you’re ever in paris especially since it’s free entry(very rare in paris). The art in all the present forms is mesmerizing.

The Grand Palais is a stunning Art Nouveau hall in Paris, built in 1900 and featuring a magnificent domed glass roof. Originally constructed for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, it was later repurposed as a military hospital during World War I. Today, it serves its intended purpose as a venue for exhibitions and cultural events.
A huge and spectacular building, recently restored and beautifully enhanced. The spaces are bright, spacious, and welcoming — perfect for a relaxed visit. The exhibition is truly enjoyable, featuring original and playful works that can capture the attention even of those who aren’t art experts. An interesting and well-organized experience — highly recommended!
Mad D — Google review
I have to be honest: my visit to the Grand Palais felt like a mixed bag, leaning more toward disappointment than delight. The standout highlight was without question the live drumming performance—absolutely fantastic, vibrant, and full of energy. That, along with the impressive central artwork, gave a glimpse of the grandeur the place could offer. But beyond that, everything else felt lackluster, as if the substance didn’t quite live up to the name. It’s ironic, really—called “Grand” Palais, but in truth is, Petit Palais offers so much more. Petit Palais is richer, more expansive, and bursting with art and history, while the Grand Palais felt strangely hollow in comparison. There wasn’t even much of a contest between the two. Honestly, I ended up here mostly by accident—either because it was right in front of me at the subway exit or because I got a little lost. Would I put it high on a must-see list? Not really. Still, I can say I enjoyed the brief visit for what it was: a chance to stumble into something unexpected. Sometimes travel is about these random encounters, even if they don’t leave a lasting impression.
Kerry B — Google review
This is one of those buildings that you have to visit even if you only have a little bit of time in Paris. I was here at the Art Basel so I could only see the inside with the stands, but it was pretty exciting that way as well. If you are near the Grand Palais you should check the Alexander III bridge out as well. Fun Fact: The fencing event of the 2024 Olympics washes held here.
VM H — Google review
What a truly stunning building the Grand Palais is and recently restored too! The roof is a masterpiece in its own right, then the statutes / ornate details outside add even more beauty. In the evening when the glass is lit up then it’s even more wonderful. We didn’t go inside due to time constraints but will definitely be heading on our next visit to Paris.
Jamie H — Google review
On our recent trip to Paris, we went to the Euphoria Balloon Exhibition (closed on Sept. 7, 2025). It was phenomenal and if they ever do another one, I would highly recommend going. It’s great for both kids and adults. Also, the price was very reasonable at €16 per adult. Watch the videos to get a sense of scale and interactivity. We went on a Tuesday right when it opened and it wasn’t too crowded so, you could really enjoy the space and take your time interacting with each installation. The Grand Palais is a beautiful building and represents some of the best in Parisian architecture. I’ll definitely go back for other exhibits.
M G — Google review
The architecture is impressive, unfortunately I don’t have a good experience visiting this place. First, I looked out which exhibition was in the nave but their website wasn’t clear. If you take the tour for the monument you don’t go inside the nave, the space where the Olympic Games took place, and if you try to book and exhibition at the nave the website isn’t clear either. I went to see the Nikki de Saint Phalle exposition and honestly not worth it for what we’ve paid. Her work is extremely contemporary and kind of nonsense.
Gicela C — Google review
It’s an enourmous building being part of the wordexibition which also incorporated the Eifeltower. As neobarok it is from the outside it’s modern style of the exi it galeries has a fifties style, rather dull. Being so large the building can house big exhibits like this one I saw in November 2025: a oversight of the modern artworks of Niki de Saint Phalle, Jean Tinguely together with Pontus Hulten. A spectaculair show with functioning installations of tingely.
Wouter S — Google review
I very much enjoyed visiting and couldn't wait to go inside and see the incredible glass ceiling but, this space is closed to the public and only opened for private events....FYI It is still worth stepping inside and having a look. The entrance, unless you are attending a paid event, is on the right hand side facing the building towards the back. There is also a public restroom on the bottom floor

Domaine National du Palais-Royal is a historical palace and garden complex in Paris, featuring 17th-century arcades filled with shops and Daniel Buren's iconic striped columns in the courtyard. The covered shopping arcade leads to a sculpture-filled inner courtyard and a stunning garden, as well as hidden specialty boutiques.
While we were in Paris, we visited the Domaine National du Palais-Royal, and it truly felt like a hidden gem right in the heart of the city. The gardens are peaceful and beautifully maintained, offering a picturesque escape from the bustling streets. The historic architecture and iconic black-and-white columns make it a perfect spot for photos and a quiet stroll. It’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re planning to go to the Louvre Museum—it’s just next door! I would have given it five stars if there were a few more amenities like cafes or clearer signage, but overall, it’s a lovely experience.

The Palais-Royal is a historic palace walkable near the Louvre Museum. Besides the stunning view of the palace, it has perfectly maintained & peaceful gardens complete with water fountains. The tree lined path is one of Paris’s most photographed iconic spots. Surrounding the garden, you'll find beautiful boutiques, cafes, and shops. In the courtyard of the former palace, they have these beautiful black & white striped columns which was installed by an artist. Very iconic & great for photos. Worth a visit to see the gardens, palace & art installations you don’t want to skip!

Even in the metropolis of Paris, the Domaine National du Palais-Royal is a very mysterious place. Especially when you visit the Domaine National du Palais-Royal at twilight, you feel as if a magical time is about to begin. I feel as if historical figures and actors of the past are emerging from the pillars. What a mysterious and poetic place!

Palais Bourbon, located in Paris' 7th Arrondissement along the Seine River, is a historic mansion that now serves as the French National Assembly. Originally built in 1728 as the residence of the Duchess of Bourbon, it has since become an emblem of French democracy. Visitors can explore its distinguished halls and chambers during special events like National Patrimony Day, gaining insight into France's rich parliamentary history and political significance.
Extraordinary visit to the French parliament with an extended overview of this beautiful monument close to all citizens. Fantastic guide with detailed explanation and a huge chance to see l'hémicycle. Something you don't see everyday. Simply outstanding. Thank you for this great opportunity.

The Palais Bourbon in Paris is a stunning study in French Neoclassical elegance, its grand colonnade, impressive pediments, and striking symmetry speak volumes about power and history. The serene façade, crowned with the tricolour, offers architectural beauty in quiet dignity.

Palais Bourbon is a historic palace located along the Seine River in Paris, and is currently used as the French National Assembly building. It is usually closed to the public, but on European Heritage Days held every September, it is open to the public and you can tour the interior.

Visited on European Heritage Day, a day when you can visit the place that are not normally open to public. I think it’s a great chance to visit that kind of places even though you have to wait in a very long line if you are visiting a popular places. The buildings were so elegant and large. Very impressive visit.

Visiting the Palais Bourbon, seat of the Assemblée nationale, is a striking experience. The architecture from the grand façades to the elegant interiors reflects centuries of French history and civic life. The reading‑room ceilings painted by Eugène Delacroix are exquisite, and the main hemicycle symbolises France’s legislative heart. Visits are free, but require booking in advance and are only possible when the Assembly is not sitting. If you love history, architecture or democracy in action, this is highly recommended.

Refinancing The refinancing capacities of the French State are weak. And, now, the interest-rates are going up. A new Power Plant costs in the range (of at least) 25 billions. If you have 56 more or less old Power Plants, which are endangered, it is sufficent to take a pocket calculator. The life span of the existing ones is limited, and there are serious security points. Thus, logically, shut-downs. As it seems, a consideration on the economic costs would be worthwile.

Once per year, the Elysees is open. The interiors are wonderful, but be prepared to wait in line. We waited 8 hours to get in and started queuing at 9AM. The French government would benefit from sorting out some ticket system.

This palace was built between 1718 by the French architect Armand Claude Moye in the classical style for the residence of the Count of Douro. After the Comte's death in 1753, the palace was purchased by him for the residence of the Marquis de Pompidore, one of Louis XV's mistresses. After this period, the palace was used for the residence of Princess Bathilde Dorlean, daughter of Prince Kende. But later, after the French Revolution and during the Napoleonic era, it was used as the presidential palace.

Produce market
If you're in Paris, don't miss the chance to explore Marché alimentaire Bastille, one of the city's largest open-air markets. Open on Thursdays and Sundays, this vibrant market is a feast for the senses. As you wander through its lively stalls, you'll discover an array of fresh produce, succulent poultry, delectable charcuterie, and a tempting selection of cheeses. It's a perfect spot to immerse yourself in local flavors and experience the bustling atmosphere that makes Paris so enchanting!
🥖 Welcome to Marché Bastille: Paris’ Most Lively Open-Air Pantry When you stroll through this market and catch the scents of cheese, spices, and freshly baked baguettes, you’re not just sightseeing—you’re stepping into the soul of Parisian daily life. Held every Thursday and Sunday, the Marché Bastille stretches along Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, between Place de la Bastille and Gare de Lyon. At first glance, it might seem like just another colorful market, but the ground you’re walking on hides layers of unexpected stories. 🧩 A Hidden Canal Beneath Your Feet Most people don’t realize that the very boulevard hosting this market was once part of the Canal Saint-Martin, an underground waterway. Commissioned by Napoleon in 1810, the canal was built to improve Paris’ water supply and transport goods more efficiently. In time, sections of the canal were covered as the city modernized, and a boulevard was constructed on top—creating space for parks, sidewalks, and this vibrant market. So when you’re selecting oysters or tomatoes, just imagine: you’re standing above what used to be a water route filled with boats carrying wine and wheat into the heart of Paris. 🍅 The Chefs' Little-Known Secret While many assume that Parisian chefs only shop at the massive wholesale market of Rungis, some actually sneak into Marché Bastille on quiet Sunday mornings. If you arrive before 9am, you might spot someone in a plain coat with a food tote bag, quietly inspecting duck legs, goat cheese, or rare herbs. He may not look like much, but chances are—he’s the chef of a nearby bistro, sourcing his ingredients before the crowds arrive. Watch how they sniff, press, and discuss with vendors—it’s like witnessing a secret ritual. For these chefs, ingredients are more than food—they’re faith. 🧀 That Cheese Seller Might Be a National Legend Among the stalls, you might notice a sign that reads “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” (MOF). It doesn’t mean “Best Cheese of France”—it means the person has earned one of the highest honors for craftsmanship in the country. To win this title, a cheesemonger must go through rigorous testing in taste, knowledge, aging, and pairing. If you spot one at this market, you’re not buying from a vendor—you’re buying from a cheese artisan as celebrated as a Michelin-starred chef. This is something even local tour guides might forget to mention. 🪶 Victor Hugo’s Invisible Shadow The Marché Bastille sits in the symbolic shadow of the former Bastille prison, the infamous site stormed during the French Revolution. Nearby lived Victor Hugo, the famed author of Les Misérables. For him, this area represented the tension between the powerful and the poor—a struggle he echoed throughout his novels. Today, that same contrast lives on in a more peaceful form: a market built for ordinary people, selling food, not fear. The poetry of revolution has faded, but the revolutionary spirit of daily life remains. 🥖 Tips for a Truly Local Experience Wake up early—before 8am if you can. That’s when the real Parisian rhythm unfolds. The first hour of the market is quieter, more authentic. Cash is king here—but avoid big bills. Vendors appreciate coins and small notes. Before buying, walk the entire length of the market. Locals always do one “tour” first, comparing freshness and prices before making any decision. Don’t just buy produce. Sit down at one of the ready-to-eat food stalls—try North African roasted chicken, couscous, or a slice of quiche that rivals many cafés. Ask questions. Even with basic French or gestures, the vendors are usually proud and passionate about what they sell. Many will share cooking tips or stories with a smile.

Went on a Sunday morning, it was so very busy but still amazing. Had a crepe and cafe crème then walked around for about an hour and then had oysters and a glass of wine at a stall in the middle. My French is ok and her English is ok and she helped me order the right ones for me. Definitely recommend for a foodie! Which I could have tried more

The best marché we’ve visited in France! I highly recommend trying the roast chicken from the stall shown in the photo — it was absolutely delicious. We always enjoy roasted chicken, whether it’s from a kiosk, supermarket, restaurant, or, like here, a local market. There’s just something unique about the way it’s made in Europe and Asia — so different and so good! This particular stall is a must-try: succulent, tender, and bursting with flavour.

Is it a typical town food market, but incredible amazing. There is variety of sea food, fruits, vegetable and also food! You could find typical food, but also Asian, Colombian, and Arabic food. Crowded and some tents do not accept credit cards, be ready to pay in cash! Some vendors are absolutely amazing!
Angelica B — Google review
I love their choice of veggies and fruit, seafood stalls. Many of seller were very nice, try to help despite language barrier. However, beside pick pocketers/ some of the staller keepers had tried to scam me, by changing the price tag or pretend to forget the change to me. Or demand cash payment saying their machine is down! Despite a person before me could pay by bank card/I guess they know that I have cash! I had encounter this 3-4 times(when I go alone as an asian speak English!, when I have someone with me there was not a case) You as a shopper have to really watch out!

One of the bigger markets in Paris. It was a lovely visit being my first time. You can eat shocked oysters of various varieties if you wish and there is high tables available for customers. There is also some other ready made food available, but mostly a fresh produce market. It goes along the middle of a street median strip lengthwise from the monument to the other end.
Peter D — Google review
Thursday is less crowded but some stalls may not open. Better come on a Sunday to get the full experience. Bring cash.
Ashley C — Google review
Came to the Bastille Market to try one of the rotisserie chickens from here. I don't remember the name of the exact place, but it was the last bird I consumed in France. My swan song from a disappointing trip in the bird department. Off the eye test, it doesn't get much better. The beautiful sight of tissi's rotating in front of a fire breathing oven, potatoes in the tray below collecting the chicken juices as they fell, had me ready to run around the Bastille plaza yelling “LE MOUVEMENT!!”. I thought this was going to be my first high level bird in the City of Light. Much to my chagrin, the one I got was just lukewarm. I was ready for my fingerprints to be fully burned off. There was so much potential here, but as always, I have to judge what's in front of me. If I don't have my integrity I have nothing. It landed at an 8.1/10 on the restaurant scale which is good, but if it was hot it could have been up there with the greats in the rare 9 territory. Unrealized potential is one of the most depressing things in the world. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

Pavillon des Tuileries is a charming kiosk located in a park setting, offering a variety of dishes including burgers, wraps, quiches, and salads. Visitors can enjoy their meals at shaded tables while taking in the relaxing atmosphere of the Tuileries Garden. The restaurant is known for its smoked salmon gnocchi, which is highly recommended despite being filling. It provides a wonderful place to unwind after exploring Paris, with friendly staff and ample space to relax.
The energy given out by the crew is just amazing. Coming here with my family is always a pleasure and the food is fresh and very tasty. Make sure to try the crepes that are homemade by the chefs 😊

Wonderful place to relax in the shade after walking through Paris. Every time I go to Paris I come here for lunch. It’s less expensive than a lot of places, the food is decent, and you’ve got space to put your bags down and stretch. The tables are a nice distance apart, not like in some of the restaurants. The servers are extremely friendly and helped answer questions about the menu. There’s a bathroom on site for guests. I had the watermelon soup, very refreshing on a hot day and a starter with smoked salmon. My nieces (who were past the age of the kids’ menu) asked if they could have the chicken nuggets. They were fine to pay more and didn’t need the crepe and drink that came with the kids’ menu. The server said of course, charged them the kids’ menu price and insisted they had the crepe and drink. Remember this is a cafe in the middle of a park. They offer you a place to relax, have a coffee, beer, wine, and a light snack or a meal. The prices are comparable for what you’re getting and the fact that you’re eating in Paris.

Went here for drinks whilst exploring the gardens. Nice and quiet. Small selection on the menu Nice to sit outside but shame smokers are around - should be seating available for smokers and no smokers. Toilets inside

This place is quite well located for those walking by Tuileries Garden from/to Louvre to Arc de Triumph. But as it is at this privileged place, it charges this privilege, thus expect to pay high prices. Staff is nice and helpful. Food is good, not the best in the world but tasteful. Dishes are big enough. They’re a little busy, so depending on the hour you get there, you might queue a bit.
Fábio T — Google review
We really liked it here! All the staff were so friendly. It’s a busy spot but you can see how much everyone is working to make sure you get what you need. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and the mixed meats & cheese board. Both were just 💙 will be back asap 💚

We were welcomed by delightful staff at the cafe. They spoke English quite well which was very refreshing and made our whole order process much easier. Food & Drinks: Overall the food and drinks were good, especially the simply made waffle with Homemade Caramel. It's quite simple to make but the cold temperature that day a day hot chocolate with the waffle simply made it so much better. We sat outside although it was around 10°, the hot drinks and food kept us company and ensured we kept a bit warm with the chilly breeze.

Saint Ouen flea market, also known as Le Marche aux Puces de Saint-Ouen, is a renowned attraction in Paris that draws visitors from around the globe. The market offers a wide array of items, from vintage clothing to quirky modern decor and old home goods. It has become a popular destination for those seeking bargains or simply looking for an enjoyable way to spend their weekend afternoons.
Massive, never ending, full of treasures to dig thru. Lots of antiques, art & just fun to find stuff! Loved all the antique books, stationery & paper goods stands! So fun!
Heather B — Google review
It was my first time visiting, and if I had just wandered around for 30 minutes, I would have been very disappointed and given it a zero-star review. But, as the saying goes, “the more you know, the more you see.” After studying the map and learning about the area, I realised there are real hidden gems – and the market experience can be divided into two parts. First, trusting Google or blog reviews can lead to mistakes. The market isn’t fully open on weekdays, and Saturday is the key day to visit. Although it says it opens at 10am, the antiques and vintage stalls don’t really start setting up until after 11am. This is partly because it takes time for people to walk in from the entrance and reach the main area. Realistically, many stalls don’t fully open until around 11:30am. Also, because most people enter from the nearby tube station, the market’s outer edge and entrance are filled with obvious fake designer clothes, bags, and typical market-style clothing and shoes that could be sold anywhere. The arcade shown in some photos can be found by searching its name on Google Maps – and behind the market, that path is actually a shortcut to where you’ll find the true antiques and vintage items.
Louise L — Google review
Loved the experience! You can find so many things, new, vintage, used and of course prices that don’t include taxes. Just suggest to bring cash and to maybe do your proper research if you like a used item.
Jouddy P — Google review
The Saint-Ouen flea market is ideal for anyone hunting for antiques, vintage treasures, or secondhand luxury items. There’s a wide variety of stalls to explore, each with its own charm. Just a heads-up - keep an eye on your belongings, as pickpocketing can be a risk. Prices tend to be on the higher side, so bargaining might be necessary…
Lovely M — Google review
Lovely to walk through the many small shops and just browse. A bit pricey though. However, to get there from the metro is terrible as you have to walk through lots and lots of cheap fake goods stalls! I really wonder why this is allowed, looks really bad.
Christine B — Google review
The Saint-Ouen Flea Market is a treasure trove for vintage lovers, collectors, and anyone who enjoys browsing unique finds. I visited both Marché Dauphine and Marché Vernaison, and each had its own charm. Marché Dauphine is more structured, with a mix of antiques, vintage fashion, books, and even vinyl records—great for leisurely browsing and discovering gems in a slightly more curated atmosphere. It feels a bit like a gallery in parts. Marché Vernaison, on the other hand, feels more like a maze of hidden treasures. It has a real vintage soul, with smaller stalls packed with everything from mid-century furniture to quirky collectibles. It’s easy to get lost in the best way. Both markets are worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for something truly one-of-a-kind. Just bring comfy shoes, patience, and a curious eye—you never know what you’ll find!
Simon L — Google review
This has the great antiques that Paris is known for. However you have too many vendors selling the fake gym shoes and shirts. Doesn’t make sense to have these two different markets in the same place.
Maria R — Google review
Very charming place. A lot bigger than I expected - markets cover half the block. It is a bit pricey tho, so don't expect a bargain even from the guy with a blanket on the pavement

Marché Bastille is a Parisian market where you can indulge in the most decadent street food experience. Every Thursday and Sunday morning, head to Boulevard Richard-Lenoir to savor freshly opened oysters paired with a glass of cold white wine for lunch. This super chill and cost-effective market offers a plate of oysters for just a dozen euros and a glass of wine for 3 euros.

Nestled in the picturesque 16th arrondissement of Paris, Château de Bagatelle is a hidden gem that promises an enchanting experience. On December 1, 2024, this architectural marvel will open its doors for a special Christmas celebration featuring theatrical tours and festive stalls, all set against the backdrop of stunning period costumes. The event is organized by the Friends of Versailles and the Mansart Foundation, making it a perfect way to usher in December with style.
Great place for a short outing. Take a picnic blanket and enjoy the peacocks and other birds. The grounds are beautiful and full of flowers and the playground is small but nice.

For an unusually hot day in Paris I decided to visit here. With the sprinklers, shade and fabulous flowers it was a delight respite. The gift shop was closed and there wasn’t any place during the day to buy water or drinks. Make sure to bring your own. The buildings are beautiful to walk around and look at. The peacocks are happy and healthy.

Located in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris, Bagatelle Park is the result of a famous 1777 bet between Marie Antoinette and her brother-in-law, the Count d’Artois, who built a graceful neoclassical castle in just 64 days with the help of the architect François-Joseph Belanger and 900 workers, spending more than three million livres . The name "Bagatelle" comes from the Italian word "bagattella," which means "trinket" or "something insignificant," reflecting the original idea of the castle as a place for pleasure and entertainment, although the result was magnificent. A unique feature of the park is its rose garden, which was created in 1905 by Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier and features approximately 10,000 rose bushes of 1,200 different species, as well as the world's oldest international rose competition, which has been held here since 1907. The park combines French formal and Anglo-Chinese landscape gardens with artificial grottoes, waterfalls, a pagoda, abbey ruins, and a nymphaeum pond, all created by the Scottish gardener Thomas Bligh. The castle is adorned with the motto "Parva sed Apta" ("Small but suitable"), borrowed from the Italian poet Ariosto, which emphasizes its intimate and cozy nature. Historically, the place was associated with hedonism and love scrolls even before the construction of the castle, and during the Revolution it escaped destruction by becoming a popular restaurant, and later acquired by the city of Paris in 1905 . The geology of the park is artificially enriched with picturesque rock formations, like the Great Rock with a waterfall, and a variety of exotic trees, including oaks, pines, sequoias and cedars, planted since the late 18th century . The park is open to the public and offers idyllic walks through poetic landscapes where time seems to stand still. The entrance fee to the park is 2.7 euros for adults.
